Cimetière du Père-Lachaise is a sprawling cemetery in Paris, known for its tree-lined paths and the final resting places of numerous famous individuals such as Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison, and Maria Callas. If you have more than three days in Paris, consider adding a visit to this historic site to your itinerary. The cemetery boasts 69,000 decorated tombs and is a popular destination for those interested in paying homage to renowned figures from various fields.
This was my first time exploring a graveyard, and I was totally intrigued by Père Lachaise in Paris. It’s full of history and truly one of the most remarkable cemeteries I’ve ever seen. Many celebrities and historical figures are buried here, and the atmosphere is surprisingly peaceful and serene. What struck me most was how clean and well-kept the whole place is. It’s quiet—of course!—but in a really calming, respectful way. It’s funny to think you’re surrounded by the dead, yet it doesn’t feel creepy at all. It’s more reflective and beautiful than anything. I was also fascinated reading the headstones—some have birth dates but no death dates yet, which makes you pause and think. The architecture and tomb designs are absolutely stunning. You can spend hours just walking around and appreciating the history and artistry. Totally a worthwhile experience if you’re in Paris. Highly recommend!

This cemetery was so great, I ended up going twice. Some of the headstones are so amazing, you have to just walk around and see where you end up. If I could have spent a day here, I would have. I do understand that headstones are close together and probably difficult to maintain, but in some areas, the weeds are so tall and areas are overgrown :(

The counterpoint to the glittering Parisian boulevards. Definitely worth a visit at any time of year, but especially outside the summer months. The gloomier the weather, the more beautiful it becomes. Creates a sense of closeness to people you have never known. Every grave tells its own story of transience, sorrow, but also creativity and inspiration. Take your time, you can easily spend a couple of hours here. It's best to give the Morrison tomb a wide berth, as any sense of reflection tends to be drowned out there.

A good site to visit in Paris. There are many interred here who have influenced and inspired you — even if you don’t know it yet. During peak tourist season there are a number of friendly attendants to provide maps and directions. Toilets are in the south. Some accessibility concerns: many ways are cobbled and some steep, although there is a slope going around the whole cemetery.

Every corner whispers stories of love, loss, and mystery… Are you brave enough to explore Paris’s most hauntingly beautiful landmark? 🕊️⚜️

Of my 5 visits to Paris, I’ve been here 3 times. This most current visit was the quickest as it started to rain as soon as we entered. Our biggest mistake was not taking a photo of the map as soon as we entered. We ended up bumping into a couple of Americans with a map so we ended up getting a snap of theirs. We didn’t really have a solid plan. All I knew was that I wanted to see Jimmy and that’s it. We ended up on quite the adventure finding Jimmy. It seemed like we walked in circles. The great thing about this cemetery is that there are so many famous people interred here. And many notable families. With that said, you’ll see some elaborate tombstones. You do see a few employees walking the grounds. They all walk around during closing time, ringing their bells to let you know they’re about to close so you better skidaddle or you’ll be locked in. I’m going to do a walking tour the next time I’m in town so I can cover more ground. I’m always so overwhelmed when I’m there It is however super sad to see the graves that are clearly unattended, sometimes looking like they’ve been abandoned.
Julie D — Google review
One of the famous Parisian cemeteries, we arrived there at the end of the day and therefore there were no crowds. At the entrance, there is a map with a list of famous people’s graves, most of which can also be found on Google Maps. All the pleasant impressions were spoiled by an unfriendly female guard who didn’t let me use the restroom 15 minutes before closing.
Kate S — Google review
This iconic Paris cemetary is a place of incredible historical importance. It covers over 44 hectares and there are nearly 70,000 graves here. Millions of people visit here annually. On the day we visited, there were hundreds of people there, mostly from Germany, visiting one particular grave....that of American musician Jim Morrison. A security guard is permanently posted to guard his grave, such is it's popularity. Others interred here include Oscar Wilde, Frédéric Chopin, Marcel Proust and Edith Piaf.....to name a few. I highly recommend visiting this historically rich cemetary.

Basilique du Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre is an iconic white church in Paris, completed in 1914. The construction began in 1877 as a response to the defeat in the Franco-Prussian war. It was funded by the public and consecrated in 1919. The interior is adorned with mosaics and stained-glass windows, making it an impressive sight atop the hill of Montmartre.
This is a beautiful trip you should do when in Paris. You shouldn't miss it, not only for the beauty of the Sacré-Coeur, but the view of the city is astonishing from there. True is that Notre Dame has the appeal, and it's also a beautiful church to know, but the Montmartre funicular is a tiny wonderful trip on its own. The lane to enter the church is not so heavy, and inside it's beautiful as well. I'm not a believer, but these places make you feel something spiritual beyond your beliefs. Then after being in the church, take the stairs downwards and go through the neighborhood, which is in itself very likable, and have an ice cream (Gelato), the way they do it there.
Carlos G — Google review
If you're in Paris, this is a must-visit spot. It’s free to visit and offers breathtaking views of Paris from all angles, thanks to its location on the top of the Montmartre hill. Apart from being a place of worship, it's also a symbol of peace and hope. I visited at 1 pm and it was quite crowded with tourists, but I still managed to enjoy the atmosphere peacefully. It's easily accessible by metro, and be prepared for some uphill walking since it's located on a hill. Really enjoyed here.
Silvy A — Google review
Montmartre Church is one of the most famous places in Paris. It is located on a small hill, and after climbing a few steps, you can enjoy an amazing view of the city. Most of Paris is visible from this point, although the Eiffel Tower is partly hidden by trees and buildings. The church itself is one of the most beautiful in Paris. I was lucky to visit while prayers were taking place, creating a truly divine and peaceful atmosphere. It also has a rich history, which makes the visit even more meaningful.
Arunbhaarat — Google review
It was a great experience to be there at the time of Mass. The view of the city from the church is breathtaking. The atmosphere inside the church was so calming and full with positive energy. The building is very well maintained and is very inspiring as well. What a great example of great architecture. There is no ticket/entry fee for the church. You can use cable_car service as well if you find difficulty to climb to the church. P.S: Keep your belongings with you and be careful outside area.

Visiting Sacré-Cœur was another must-do on my Paris list. I started walking from Galeries Lafayette around 2:30 PM to get there. It’s a walkable distance if you enjoy walking, and it’s a great way to explore the heart of Paris. Be ready though—the roads are quite steep! You’ll find plenty of cafés along the way, but if you’re traveling from India on a budget, be prepared—coffee here is quite expensive. Paris, and France in general, can be pricey compared to many other European countries. When you reach Sacré-Cœur, you’ll need to climb a long, steep staircase to get to the top. Once there, you can use an old-fashioned binocular to get a beautiful view of Paris. Many people sit on the wide steps to relax or take pictures, as you get a perfect view of the church’s front from there. You can go inside if you want, but most people prefer to stay outside and enjoy the scenery. You’ll often see street performers and artists entertaining the crowd, and a few vendors selling souvenirs nearby. It’s definitely a must-visit spot for anyone coming to Paris!
Visakh R — Google review
What a gorgeous basilica! It’s a building in Paris that we couldn’t avoid on our last evening, we took the stairs up to the top, which was quite a bit of effort after already walking up the step hilly streets in the area. But gosh was it worth it! The area was so crowded with tourists and locals alike all wanting to get a view over the city and selfies in front of the building. And you can tell why, the architecture is stunning, there is so much detail, and if you’re a movie fan then you’ll know the basilica features in John Wick.
Jamie H — Google review
A beautiful white-stone basilica sitting at the highest point of Montmartre, offering one of the most impressive panoramic views of Paris. Built between 1875 and 1914, it was commissioned after the Franco-Prussian War as a symbol of hope, faith, and national renewal. Its architecture mixes Romanesque and Byzantine elements, with a bright interior, stunning mosaics and a peaceful atmosphere that contrasts with the lively streets of Montmartre below. A must-visit landmark perfect for history, architecture and a breathtaking view of the city.
Patrizia P — Google review
Amazing spot with one of the best views in all of Paris! The basilica is gorgeous — the art and architecture are seriously next level, like stepping into a marble masterpiece. But heads up: avoid weekends or festival days unless you enjoy crowds and selfie-stick battles. 😅 Go early or on a weekday to really enjoy the peace .Totally worth the climb — your legs might complain, but your eyes will thank you! 👀✨

The Eiffel Tower, an iconic symbol of Paris and France, was completed in 1889 by Gustave Eiffel. Despite initial plans for its demolition after two years, the tower has endured as one of the city's most popular attractions. With its 18,038 pieces of metal, it offers three floors and options to ascend via stairs or lifts. Visitors can also enjoy restaurants and bars inside. The tower's lighting effects at night are a must-see.
A Magical Day at the Eiffel Tower I visited the Eiffel Tower today and it absolutely lived up to the hype. From the moment I stepped onto the Champ de Mars, the Iron Lady’s latticework felt both grand and surprisingly graceful. The views from the top are breathtaking—Paris stretches out in every direction like a living postcard, with the Seine curving through the city and landmarks popping up everywhere you look. The experience felt smooth and well-organized. Staff were friendly, and even with the crowds, the lines moved faster than I expected. I loved taking my time on each level—there’s something special about pausing with a coffee and just soaking in the panorama. As evening fell, the tower’s sparkle made the whole scene feel downright romantic and cinematic. If you’re planning a visit, I’d recommend booking tickets ahead of time and going a bit before sunset so you catch daylight, golden hour, and the first twinkle after dark. Whether you take the elevator or brave the stairs, the journey itself is part of the fun. All in all, today’s visit was unforgettable. The Eiffel Tower isn’t just a must-see—it’s a must-feel. Five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Aryan P — Google review
• No ticket needed: You don’t have to buy a ticket to enter the tower or queue for elevators—just pick a great external vantage and you’re free to shoot at your own pace. • Excellent photo spots nearby: Many well-documented locations give iconic Tower views from outside—e.g., Rue de l’Université, Rue de Buenos‑Aires, Avenue de Camoëns. These spots are highlighted in photographer guides as “hidden” or less-crowded alternatives. • Flexible timing: Because you’re not tied to a ticket time, you can go early morning, late evening, or at twilight to capture different lighting and mood. • Lower cost: Skipping entrance means saving time and money, and focusing instead on the view and atmosphere. • Great for casual or photographic visits: If your priority is the Tower in your photo, rather than ascending it, this approach works perfectly. ⸻ ⚠️ What to keep in mind • You miss the “inside” experience: You won’t go up into the tower, see its internal architecture, or get panoramic views from heights—it’s purely an “outside vantage” experience. • Crowds/lines possible at popular spots: Even external photo spots can be crowded (especially the very popular ones like Trocadéro or Rue de l’Université). Some guides warn of “many people” even at street viewpoints. • Lighting & viewpoint selection matter: Good photos depend heavily on time of day, weather, background composition (street, river, buildings). If you go at the wrong time you may get harsh light or less dramatic angle. • Expect standard viewpoint, not “secret”: Many external spots now appear in photo-spot guides and social media; so while you’re not entering the tower, you might share the view with others. • Still some cost/time: If you go out for the trip, you’ll still invest time (walking, transport) to reach a good baseline vantage.

Well, if one is in Paris it’s hard not to visit. Queues can be long so best to get there early and be prepared to wait for a while. Tickets are not expensive. Splendid views from the top, of course, particularly on clear days. Overall well worth a visit if one is there. Fun for all the family although small children may get bored by the wait and be less than impressed.

🇫🇷 An Essential Paris Experience: Unforgettable Views and History! Visiting the Eiffel Tower was a highlight of our trip to Paris. Even on a cloudy day, the structure itself is breathtaking from the base. The sheer scale and engineering are incredible, making it a truly iconic landmark. The Experience: We took the time to go up to one of the platforms, which I highly recommend. The views of Paris are spectacular, giving you a completely different perspective of the city. Being inside the lattice work of the tower itself is an experience. I especially appreciated the historical information available on the different levels, detailing its construction and use for early radio transmissions. It adds so much context to this magnificent monument. Tips for Visitors: Book Tickets in Advance: Lines can be very long, so pre-booking is essential to save time. Allow Plenty of Time: There are security checks, queues for the lifts, and plenty of things to see once you're up there, so don't rush the experience. Photo Ops: The viewing platforms offer incredible spots for family photos, framed by the beautiful ironwork and the city below. Overall, the Eiffel Tower is a must-see landmark that lives up to its reputation. Highly recommended for all visitors to Paris!

We walked up the stairs to the second floor which was a right mission... but so worth it the views as you walk up are brilliant. Had a refreshment stop before heading to the top via the elevator. Stunning views of the city on a very clear fine day...

It's just a miracle. The best place I've ever seen. I recommend it to absolutely everyone. The spirit is breathtaking. And in the evening it's even better because it shimmers. I recommend climbing the tower, the views are beautiful.

Beautiful structure no matter which angle you take the photo from whether it's day time or night time. There's a small museum on top of the tower. Amazing views of the surrounding areas around Eiffel Tower. It's good if you take the skip the line ticket as you can go up without queueing.
Noorzidah N — Google review
Proud to have actually been there to see it. Incredible fascinating structure. Great view, if one manages to go up for a look-see. Naturally, a ticket needs to be bought as per one's time slot. There are lifts to take you up, some tiny shops to let you browse and to buy souvenirs for back home give-aways.

The Arc de Triomphe is an iconic triumphal arch located in the 8th arrondissement district of Paris. It was constructed between 1806 and 1836 to honor Napoleon's military victories during the first French Empire. The monument stands at 164 feet tall and 148 feet wide, adorned with intricate designs on its four arches.
Visiting the Arc de Triomphe for the first time was truly amazing. Standing beneath this monumental arch, I could really feel the weight of history and the beauty of its design. Every carving and detail tells a story, and being there in person made me appreciate it so much more than just seeing it in pictures. Climbing the 284 steps to the top was a challenge, but absolutely worth it—the view of Paris stretched out in every direction, with the Eiffel Tower standing tall and the Champs-Élysées looking endless. The view was breathtaking and made the whole experience unforgettable. It’s one of those places that captures the magic of Paris in a single moment.

【Quick Summary】A spectacular view of Paris at night! The illuminated Arc de Triomphe and the sparkling Eiffel Tower view from the top are absolutely breathtaking. 【Purpose of Visit】Perfect for an evening visit, especially for night view appreciation, right after checking in on your arrival day. ✅ Experience (Highlights) After a flight from Tokyo, we checked into the hotel around 4 PM and headed straight to the iconic Arc de Triomphe. * ✅ The View from the Arc: While the illuminated Arc de Triomphe itself is grand and full of charm, **the Eiffel Tower's sparkle illumination (Champagne Flash) seen clearly from the top of the Arc is truly unmissable.** * By visiting during the transition from dusk to night, we enjoyed a complete panorama: the grandeur of the Arc, the lights along the Champs-Élysées, and the dazzling sparkle of the Eiffel Tower. * ✅ Final Impression: I believe everyone who witnesses this view will fall in love with Paris. It was a magical moment—the highlight of a perfect Parisian evening.

An iconic monument that beautifully captures the spirit and history of France! 🇫🇷 The Arc de Triomphe, commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1806, honors those who fought and died for France during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. The intricate carvings and sculptures are stunning, and the eternal flame beneath it pays tribute to the Unknown Soldier — a deeply moving sight. The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking, offering a perfect 360° view of Paris and the Champs-Élysées. Visit around sunset to see the city glow and the Eiffel Tower sparkle — truly unforgettable! ✨
Ashmeet S — Google review
The Arc de Triomphe is one of Paris’s most iconic monuments — bold, majestic, and deeply symbolic. Standing at the top of the Champs-Élysées, it commands attention from every angle, perfectly aligned with the avenue and the city’s twelve radiating boulevards. Built on the orders of Napoleon I to honor the French armies, the arch carries incredible detail — from sculpted victories to engraved names of generals and battles. Seeing it up close, you realize how massive it really is, far larger and more imposing than photos suggest. I visited recently, and the experience was unforgettable. The monument stands proudly at the Place Charles de Gaulle, surrounded by a never-ending swirl of traffic, yet it somehow feels peaceful once you step onto the pedestrian walkway beneath it. You can climb to the top terrace (about 280 steps), and the view is absolutely worth it — the Eiffel Tower, La Défense, and the Champs-Élysées stretch out in perfect symmetry. If you time it around sunset, Paris glows golden, and the city truly feels eternal. “A symbol of victory, memory, and beauty — standing atop the Arc de Triomphe feels like standing at the heart of Paris itself.”
Amrit D — Google review
What's not to love. It's an incredible landmark and more beautiful than I imagined. Make sure to take pictures not just close up but farther away as well. If you are trying to figure out where to stay, I would recommend staying near the arc instead of near the Eiffel Tower.

I visited the observatory in spring, summer, autumn and winter because the colours around the Arc de Triomphe change with each season, and they are beautiful. The view is also different by day and by night; while the Eiffel Tower offers a lovely panorama, the Champs-Élysées seen from here, especially at night, is even more striking and well worth the climb. Most people do not take the lift but climb the very narrow circular stone staircase, so those with mobility issues or the elderly should use the lift instead. Tickets must be purchased in advance for your preferred time slot on the official website. The staff at the ticket desk are very friendly, so if you need assistance, simply queue and they will be glad to help.

One of the most iconic and must-visit landmarks in Paris, located near Charles de Gaulle–Étoile station. From this point, twelve grand avenues radiate outward, with the world-famous Champs-Élysées being one of them, leading all the way to Place de la Concorde. The area is rich in history and architectural beauty, offering stunning views and plenty of photo opportunities. It’s a wonderful place to take a leisurely walk, enjoy the lively Parisian atmosphere, and admire the surrounding cafés, shops, and monuments. A visit here is truly a classic Paris experience!

Just visited the iconic Arc de Triomphe in Paris and I'm still pinching myself! This monumental arch was commissioned by Napoleon in 1806 to honor his Grande Armée and was finally completed in 1836. The monument's sheer grandeur and historical significance left me in awe. The views from the top are breathtaking, with the City of Light stretching out in every direction. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the eternal flame add a poignant touch to this symbol of French national pride. A must-visit for anyone traveling to Paris!

The Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, dating back to the 12th century, stands as a magnificent example of Gothic architecture along the Seine River. This iconic landmark, made famous by Victor Hugo's novel 'The Hunchback of Notre-Dame,' suffered a devastating fire in April 2019. Despite this setback, efforts are underway to restore and reopen the cathedral by April 2024.
Visiting the newly reopened Notre-Dame Cathedral was a dream come true! On this sunny Monday, I joined a well-organized queue that took about 20 minutes—well worth the wait (no need to buy tickets). The staff ensured a respectful atmosphere, requiring gentlemen to remove hats, dress neatly, and maintain silence, which added to the sacred ambiance. Inside, the cathedral is nothing short of breathtaking. The restored beauty of the soaring arches, intricate stained glass, and serene orderliness left me in awe. Every detail radiates history, artistry, and spiritual grandeur. The experience was profoundly moving, evoking a deep sense of reverence and wonder. Notre-Dame is a true masterpiece, and I’m already looking forward to returning to bask in its timeless magnificence. Highly recommend this unforgettable visit to anyone!

Notre-Dame absolutely took my breath away! The cathedral is even more beautiful in person than in pictures — the details on the outside are incredible, and the stained glass inside is just magical. You can really feel the history in every corner. What’s amazing is that it’s completely free to enter the main cathedral! You can just walk in, take your time, and enjoy the atmosphere. It’s such a peaceful, awe-inspiring place right in the middle of Paris. Even though parts are still being restored, it’s 100% worth visiting. Don’t miss it — it’s one of those spots that truly captures the spirit of Paris!

An absolute must see when visiting Paris. If you’re able to climb up the towers, I highly recommend it. We were able to get a ticket for 6 PM and made it to the top right around 7 PM in time for sunset. It is over 400 steps of a spiral staircase, but totally worth the view. As for the cathedral highly recommend booking your tickets two days in advance so you don’t have to wait in the extremely line long line. But if you do wait in the line, it does move pretty fast. The cathedral has been restored beautifully. It was such an amazing thing to see.
I P — Google review
What a breathtaking building! It’s truly stunning, from both close up and at a distance. Whether in the day time or night-time. Although the rear is not finished with the rebuild following the fire it’s still brilliant. The detailing on the front facade is gorgeous. It’s free to enter the main cathedral but the queues are SO long that you’ll need to decide whether the time spent queuing and missing all the other amazing sites of Paris is worth it for you personally. You really have to see it in person to truly appreciate all the intricacies.

An Absolute Must-Visit - Top 3 in Paris! Visiting Notre Dame was a truly moving experience, and it's easily in our top 3 must-visit sites in Paris. The history of this building is just breathtaking. We used a tour guide, which was a great decision as they brought the cathedral to life with amazing stories about its design, architecture, and its famous association with "The Hunchback of Notre-Dame." Learning about the historical artifacts that are housed inside, like the legendary Crown of Thorns, was incredible. Seeing it standing so resiliently after the tragic fire is a powerful reminder of its importance to Paris and the world. Even with the ongoing restoration, the spirit and grandeur of this iconic cathedral are undeniable. You simply cannot miss it.

Notre-Dame de Paris is nothing short of breathtaking. The cathedral stands as a powerful symbol of history, culture, and timeless beauty. The Gothic architecture is stunning from every angle — the intricate stone carvings, towering spires, and iconic rose windows are even more impressive in person. Walking around the cathedral, you feel the weight of centuries of craftsmanship and devotion. Despite the crowds, the atmosphere still manages to be peaceful and awe-inspiring. It’s easy to see why this place has touched so many people for so many years. The surrounding area on Île de la Cité adds to the charm, with lovely views of the Seine and plenty of quiet corners to take in the scenery. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or just want a moment of reflection in the heart of Paris — Notre-Dame is absolutely worth the visit.
Violina P — Google review
Notre dame was absolutely beautiful and stunning on the outside. As a UK tourist, it looked so grand and magnificent in person like a historic piece of artwork where years of hardwork building and sculpting had gone into it. The wait outside wasn't too long and the queue was organised. However, I felt the inside of the cathedral needed a bit more work and improvement with some of the displays, it didn't seem to captivate me as much inside as the outside. Also the historic art virgin and child statue was moved outside suddenly on a pole and that concerned me with the weather outside causing more wear and tear. But overall it was a great attraction to visit.
M Y — Google review
Very cool seeing this beautiful cathedral. I recommend. Is quite crowded but go early in the morning perhaps or on weekdays and off season to get the most of your experience. Very neat. We didn't go in, just saw from outside as we felt that was enough, also huge cues.

The Louvre Museum, a former historic palace, is home to an extensive art collection spanning from Roman sculptures to the famous 'Mona Lisa' by da Vinci. The museum's official boutique, Chalcographie du Louvre, offers a variety of high-end gifts and limited-edition artist prints. With its architectural significance and iconic glass pyramid entrance, the museum showcases valuable paintings, sculptures, jewelry, artifacts, and even features a dedicated area for the Museum of Advertising.
Loved it, it is really amazing 😍 we bought the tickets in advance and spent only 30 minutes in a line as it was supposed. We did not have much time but three hours were enough to see what i wanted especially the Louvre Couture ❤️ audio guide appeared quite complicated 🤣 but the security people were very friendly and helpful 💖 If you are going to visit Louvre do not plan anything else on that day simply enjoy with a nice walk in the park or surrounding streets and try local cafe or restaurant...

❤The Louvre is a stunning museum with iconic masterpieces like the Mona Lisa and countless treasures to explore. A must-visit in Paris! However, the crowds can be overwhelming, especially near popular exhibits. Arrive early to enjoy it better. Still, an unforgettable experience!

The building itself is a piece of art and then you have all the expositions and collections. Just make sure you enjoy art and reserve the whole day for it as it has rooms on end. Particularly fun was seeing the interpretations of period specific dresses by famous design houses.

It was a short time in Paris so I can't book the ticket in advance. And the day I come to the museum close( on Tuesday). You can book the tickets 🎟 from the website. But I had a chance to visit around, it was a very big place. If you want to see all you need to take more days for it. You have to book before you come. If not, you'll have to wait a few hours to buy a ticket. It was a famous place and I guess it was a main museum in Paris. I was going down to get some relax and play some game 🎮 down there. That was a fun and great experience. I might come back to visit the Louvre museum next time. Highly recommended when you visit Paris

An unforgettable experience! It’s the biggest and one of the most visited museums in the world. The Louvre is truly a treasure trove of world history and art — from the Mona Lisa’s mysterious smile to the grand halls lined with masterpieces. Although the lines are long, it’s absolutely worth the wait. Give yourself plenty of time — you’ll want to get lost in its endless beauty!
Tiffany T — Google review
World's biggest museum so you have to visit it when in Paris. Worth the visit because there are some world class works of art here. Mona Lisa is the most popular art piece in this museum and it will always be crowded to view it. But plenty of signs leading you to exactly where this is located. The queue was not too bad on a Thursday morning. I reserved for 10am and got in around 10:20am. You line up right outside the glass pyramid. There will be signs for the different times you reserved for. Bring a water bottle with water because the museum did not have a single water fountain. I consciously looked for them and did not find any. Or you can buy an expensive bottle of water from their cafeteria. I stayed for 4 hours and looks like prime time was around 1pm. The cafeteria was packed and people were standing to eat.
David — Google review
Totally worth the visit, but be prepared to walk for more than 4 hours if you want to see everything it has to offer. A lot of different cultures, time periods and artifacts. One of the best museums I’ve ever visited! Buy the tickets in advance and be there 10mins before your time slot!
Isidora V — Google review
The greatest museum I have ever seen in Europe. You can see so many different arts. I recommend buying tickets in advance online, otherwise there is a 1-1,5 hour waiting time to entry. Prepare to spend the entire day in the museum. You need about 6-7 hours to see all the museum. You can find coffee shops inside, or bring something to eat with you

The Champ de Mars is one of the most iconic and picturesque spots in Paris, and visiting it was truly a highlight of my trip. Nestled right in front of the Eiffel Tower, this expansive public park offers one of the best open views of the tower, making it a perfect location for photography, picnics, or just relaxing and taking in the scenery. During the day, the park is filled with people lounging on the grass, families with children, and tourists snapping photos. It’s a peaceful place to take a break from the city bustle. The lawns are well-maintained and spacious, allowing plenty of room to spread out, even when it's busy. In the evening, the vibe shifts. As the Eiffel Tower begins to sparkle, the Champ de Mars transforms into a magical gathering place. People bring blankets, snacks, and even wine to enjoy the view. The sunset over the tower is a must-see and makes for incredible photos. There are also street vendors around, offering snacks and souvenirs, and the whole area feels safe and welcoming. Plus, it's a great spot for a casual stroll, whether you're on your own, with friends, or as a couple. If you’re planning to visit the Eiffel Tower, make sure to spend some time in the Champ de Mars—it’s the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of Paris at your own pace.

Great views, relaxed vibe, and perfect for Eiffel Tower moments Champ de Mars is one of those places that makes you stop and take it all in. It’s a huge open park stretching out from the Eiffel Tower, and it’s perfect for relaxing, having a picnic, or just sitting and watching the world go by. I came here in the late afternoon and stayed until the Eiffel Tower lights came on — the sparkle at night is honestly magical from here. It can get crowded in some spots, especially closer to the tower, but there’s plenty of space to spread out. Street vendors are everywhere (some can be pushy), but it’s manageable. Overall, it’s a great spot to unwind and enjoy one of the most iconic views in the world.
Kerry B — Google review
The Champs de Mars is a great place to get incredible views and photo opportunities of the Eiffel Tower - we were here in October so the grass areas closer to the tower were just dirt, a little further down the gardens the grass was still green and lush, and the surrounding trees and bushes still gave a good framework for the tower.

Parc des Buttes-Chaumont is a 19th-century park located in the northeastern area of Paris, spanning across the 19th and 20th arrondissements. It was built in a former quarry and features tall trees, a lake, waterfalls, and an old iron railway bridge. The park offers visitors a chance to explore grottos, hillside paths, lakeside circuits, and a temple perched atop the butte.
A wonderful place to unwind and enjoy nature. This park is spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with plenty of green areas, walking trails, and benches. It’s perfect for a morning jog, an afternoon picnic, or just relaxing with a book. The playgrounds are great for kids, and there are shaded spots that provide relief on sunny days. I also appreciated the cleanliness and the presence of trash bins, which helps keep the environment tidy. During weekends, it can get a bit crowded, but overall, The park is suitable for families, fitness enthusiasts, and anyone looking to enjoy some fresh air. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a combination of nature, recreation, and relaxation.

I spent my final afternoon in Paris exploring this lovely park in the outer districts. It was a great afternoon and it's a really well laid out city park, with fairly nice perches and views. Unfortunately, the construction and repairs spoiled some of the experience, along with not the best weather. But I am glad I went, it was nice to see another slice of life with families picnicking, runners jogging, and others just meandering to a calmer pace than central Paris.
Saminda W — Google review
My most adorable city park, it’s really huge with abundance of breathtaking views and picnic spots. The lake with the ducks , the waterfalls and kids playgrounds. The only downsides are the ubiquitous joggers, few public toilets and only a few vending stations for water and coffee. The place is very clean and those multi-century trees are just amazing

Parc des Buttes-Chaumont is a truly wonderful and vast park. It is the best place in the heart of Paris to enjoy nature and peace. If you're looking to spend a day away from the city's hustle and bustle, this park is the perfect choice. Suitable for Everyone The best part of this park is that it is suitable for everyone from the young to the old. There are dedicated areas for play and leisure for young children. The spacious pathways are ideal for both walking and general exercise. This is a wonderful place to come with family or friends to relax and spend time together. Natural Beauty This park is a must-visit for nature lovers. The greenery, silence, and picturesque views are truly calming. The beautiful bridge and small water reservoirs (or small waterfalls/lakes) further enhance the park's beauty. Basic Amenities For your convenience, all basic facilities are neatly maintained in the park There are plenty of seats throughout the park for resting.Drinking water facilities and toilet facilities are available. Overall, this is a very peaceful and beautiful place. If you want a unique experience in Paris, you should definitely visit Parc des Buttes-Chaumont!

Such a beautiful park, full of laughter, happy vibes, but also peace. It’s a place for a picnic, to kick a ball, or to simply walk and enjoy. The views and beautiful, and the water is peaceful too. Just be careful getting to and from if you are a woman, as some surrounding areas in summer have a lot of drunk men

Located more north in Paris, you'll find a serene and residential park that's perfect for joggers, pet owners, hikers... I wanted to escape from the hustle and bustle of central Paris and I knew this park would be peaceful. I loved it, absolutely recommend taking the metro to get here. There is a cliff with a gazebo and the path to it was closed off but from the bottom, you can a fantastic view of it and the lake.

Buttes Chaumont is a beautiful park where Parisians stroll or train for their next marathon and where birders are on full alert. It's known for its hills, so be prepared for uphills and downhills. Enjoy the lake and the waterfalls too. The Temple of Sybille is beautiful, although it's not accessible right now–you can still see it from many vantage points. Climb to the top to see the Basilica in Montmartre, the modern towers of La Defense, and much more. You'll find lots of cute dogs to enjoy on your stroll, as well as spots to sit for a cup of tea and a snack. And if you are training for a race, this is the place to get your hill runs done!

An Unforgettable Montmartre Experience with the Amazing Silvia! My partner and I had the absolute best time on our walking tour of Montmartre, and it was all thanks to our incredible local guide, Silvia, from GetYourGuide. She was absolutely fantastic! Montmartre is a beautiful and historic neighborhood, but Silvia's passion and deep knowledge brought its streets to life. She was a wonderful storyteller, sharing fascinating anecdotes about the artists and history that we would have never discovered on our own. She led us through charming hidden courtyards and down secret alleyways, showing us the true soul of the neighborhood beyond the usual tourist spots. Silvia was warm, engaging, and funny, and she made sure everyone in the group felt included. If you are considering a tour of Montmartre, I cannot recommend this one enough. And if you are lucky enough to have Silvia as your guide, you are in for an absolutely memorable experience! Five stars!

Montmartre has a magic all its own. It feels like a little world tucked just outside of Paris — even though it’s right in the heart of it. The vibe is effortlessly cool, with that artsy, bohemian energy that makes you feel like the cool kids live here, create here, and hang out in the cafés here. There’s art everywhere — in the streets, on the walls, in the air. It’s creative and a little rustic, full of history and charm. Even though it was swarming with tourists, it didn’t feel like a tourist trap. It felt special. Authentic. Like you’re part of something, even just for a moment. I found the best souvenirs here — unique, personal, not the mass-produced kind — and the people in the shops were honestly some of the friendliest I encountered in Paris. Genuinely charming and warm in a way that surprised me. The parks and gardens add to the magic, and the views from the hill? Unreal. If I come back to Paris (and I will), this is definitely the neighborhood I’d want to stay in. Montmartre is 100% my vibe.

The Petit Palais is a beautifully adorned 1900 building designed in the Beaux-Arts architectural style, originally constructed for the Universal Exposition. It now houses the City of Paris Museum of Fine Arts, showcasing an eclectic collection ranging from Renaissance to 20th-century artworks. The gallery features European art spanning from Classical antiquity to renowned artists like Albrecht Durer and Impressionists such as Claude Monet and Paul Cezanne.
I’m so glad I made time to visit the Petit Palais during my trip to Paris. The building itself is stunning, with breathtaking architecture that feels like a work of art before you even step inside. The museum’s collection is equally impressive, featuring pieces by Monet as well as masterpieces from the Dutch Golden Age and beyond. What amazed me most is that admission is completely free, and the wait to enter was minimal. I spent over two hours exploring the galleries and could have easily stayed longer. It’s a wonderful mix of grandeur, history, and artistic treasure. The Petit Palais truly feels like one of Paris’s hidden gems, and I highly recommend adding it to your itinerary.

• Architectural gem: The building itself, designed by Charles Girault for the 1900 Exposition Universelle, is celebrated for its ornate Beaux-Arts style, grand façade, domes and interior courtyard. • Free entry (permanent collection): One of the more accessible major museums in Paris — the permanent collection in the Petit Palais is free, making it a very good value stop. • High-quality art collection: The museum houses works by significant artists (e.g., Paul Cézanne, Gustave Courbet) plus decorative arts, sculpture, and objects spanning antiquity through the 19th century. • Pleasant environment: Reviewers frequently mention that it feels less crowded than the major tourist museums, with a restful internal garden and a welcoming atmosphere.

Loved this at museum! The building architecture is spectacular. It's free, they also have a Monet on display with some modern art as well. They have a mix of paintings, artifacts, and statues. Statues were lovely to see in beautiful light, and prices were nicely laid out so it didn't seem too overwhelming. Highly recommend!

Discovered Le Grand Palais was closed undergoing renovations. The security guard recommended Petit Palais located directly across the boulevard. Thank you for your recommendation monsieur. Personally, I loved the ensemble of French paintings and sculptures housed in the Petit Palais. In my personal opinion, a fantastic collection of French art by French artists. The collection spans from the late 19th through the early 20th centuries. What made my visit even more memorable was that Petit Palais was free of large crowds. This allowed me and others the opportunity to take our time to enjoy these magnificent works of art. All beautifully housed in a Beaux Arts architectural masterpiece.

Perfect opportunity in Paris to visit a free museum. The works are introduced by art paintings and interior furniture as historical part of the palace. It has several big halls describing different period of times. Additionally paintings are mixed with the classics and modern, and you can find some famous artist works there too (like Renoir). Great place to stop by when exploring Paris historical center

Beautiful free museum, there are tickets you can buy where you are able to skip the line and see a temporary exhibit but there’s so much to see without buying it and the wait was only about 20 minutes! Beautiful paintings and ceilings and a wonderful gift shop! Was very crowded.

Fantastic museum. The art was great and the building was beautiful. During our visit there was an exhibition of both modern paintings next to old paintings where the modern ones were inspired by the older ones. Really nice. There was no wait to get in and the permanent collection was free to see.

The neighborhood features small cafes, bars, boutiques, galleries, pop-ups, and concept stores showcasing emerging designers and artists. Artazart bookstore stands out with its eye-catching storefront overlooking the canal and offers art and design books along with exhibitions and events.
The Canal Saint-Martin, one of Paris’s most charming and scenic waterways, offers a peaceful retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle. Stretching for nearly 4.5 kilometers, the canal winds its way through trendy neighborhoods like Le Marais and the 10th arrondissement, lined with leafy trees, picturesque bridges, and vibrant cafés. Originally built in the early 19th century to supply fresh water to the city, the canal has since become a popular spot for leisurely walks, boat rides, and picnics by the water. We took some pastries and went to the canal and sat. It was pretty windy and calm and there were some people around the area chilling as well. Nice area. You might find the occasional crazy person though.

A beautiful place to take a walk, have a picnic, or just sit by the water and enjoy the Parisian atmosphere. It feels more local and less touristy than other parts of the city, with plenty of cute cafés, bars, and little shops along the way. The iron bridges and tree-lined paths make it very picturesque, especially in the afternoon light. Sometimes it can get a bit crowded on sunny weekends, but overall it’s a charming and peaceful escape right in the middle of Paris.

⭐ Canal Saint-Martin (10th arrondissement, Paris) Canal Saint-Martin, located in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, is one of the city’s most charming and peaceful spots. The canal stretches for about 4.5 km, linking the Bassin de la Villette to the River Seine through several locks and iron bridges. During summer, especially in July and August, tourists can enjoy watching the sightseeing boats pass through. When the boats approach, the upper bridges open up to let them pass — it’s a fascinating scene! After that, tourists can also walk across the bridge once it closes again. The canal is surrounded by large trees, cafés, and pedestrian paths where people sit by the water, chat, and enjoy snacks or picnics in the afternoon. It’s a perfect place to relax, take photos, or simply watch the boats glide by. A must-visit if you want to see a more local and peaceful side of Paris. 🌿🚤

Saint-Eustache Church, located in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, is a Gothic masterpiece with a rich history dating back to the 13th century. Modeled after Notre Dame, it features stunning murals, sculptures, and a grand pipe organ. The church hosts LUMINISCENCE, an immersive show that narrates its captivating history through live music, theater performances, and 360-degree video mapping.
At first glance, a quiet, tucked-away church you might miss while walking from Les Halles. But step inside and it’s full of surprises — a massive interior, beautiful decor, stained glass, and peaceful silence amid the city noise. Definitely more than just a quick detour. A hidden gem that leaves a lasting impression.

It's the 2nd church i visited in Paris. It has many unique paintings and statues. It wasn't crowded so you can take your time and even sit down to admire its beauty. The colored windows were so beautiful. It's still being renovated from the inside so it has a strong smell of paint.

Every time we come to Paris, we think of Notre-Dame — but this church took my breath away. It may not have the same fame, yet it radiates such beauty and peace that it instantly becomes unforgettable. A true hidden gem in the City of Lights… and believe it or not, it’s completely free to visit!

Beautiful spot worth a visit. The statue is the dead center of the spiral of Paris' quarters. Eternally listening to the heartbeat of the city. I packed a little picnic and enjoyed the shade of the trees and the passerby.

What a wonderful church that I had the pleasure of singing Sunday Mass in the other week. The light from the stained glass windows was absolutely stunning when mixed with the insence of the mass, and the organ is just wonderful. Regular mass occurs here as well as frequent organ recitals which really show off the impressive instrument. Would highly recommend on a visit!
Phwaedih — Google review
The church stands as a testament to architectural splendour, capturing admiration both inside and out. Its design allows for an abundance of natural light to fill the space, creating an inviting and uplifting atmosphere. Sunlight pours through the stained-glass windows, casting vibrant patches of colour across the interior. This interplay of light and colour enhances the experience of prayer, enveloping visitors in a serene and contemplative mood. Among the church’s many features, the organ holds a special place. Its presence and sound are particular favourites, offering a memorable highlight for those who visit or worship within these walls.

This is a large and beautiful church near rue Montorgueil. I haven't been inside yet, but hope to go to a concert there one day. I hope the Luminisence show will return some day, as I missed it. There are lots of benches outside the church where you can stop and take in the view. It's in an open area so it never feels crowded. When I was there, street vendors were playing live music. There are nearby bistro and it's a lovely place to spend a Sunday evening in Paris.

The park has been transformed into an illuminated wonderland with hundreds of large-scale lanterns shaped like plants and animals from tropical forests. This installation, called Jungle en voie d'Illumination, showcases the biodiversity of tropical rainforests across four continents.
Wonderful open natural space with huge old trees, some were planted centuries ago with plaques explaining their provenance. It is almost unbelievable. A combination of historical old buildings and interesting structures add to the wonderment as you wander around. A short walk from the Pantheon, it is worth going to see even if you only have a brief window to visit. No tickets needed.

Maison de Victor Hugo is a must-visit in Paris, as it was the home of the renowned French novelist, poet, and dramatist for nearly 16 years. The apartment has been converted into a museum that showcases original furniture, artifacts, and sketches from Hugo's time. Visitors can freely wander through seven rooms that are organized chronologically to depict different periods of Hugo's life, including his exile.
Beautiful & free museum. You leave the bustling outside world behind when you enter this historically preserved apartment. A journey into the past! This is the actual apartment of the famous Victor Hugo! The rooms are full of the original furniture and wallpaper (so much wallpaper!!!) The history & things to learn are fascinating. Nice little gift shop at the end for fans of Hugo!

My visit to La Maison de Victor Hugo in Paris was an unforgettable journey through history, literature, and art. Nestled in the picturesque Place des Vosges, this charming museum offers a unique glimpse into the life and creative world of one of France’s greatest literary icons. The house itself, where Victor Hugo lived from 1832 to 1848, has been beautifully preserved and transformed into a museum dedicated to his life and works. Walking through its rooms feels like stepping back into the 19th century. Each space tells a story — from his personal belongings and manuscripts to the intricate furnishings he designed himself. The Chinese-inspired drawing room, in particular, is a true masterpiece and highlights Hugo’s eclectic artistic tastes. One of the most fascinating parts of the visit was learning about Hugo’s time in exile on the Channel Islands after his opposition to Napoleon III. His years away from France were among his most productive, during which he completed some of his most famous works, including Les Misérables and Les Contemplations. The museum also provides insight into Hugo’s role as a political activist and humanitarian. His passionate advocacy for social justice, abolition of the death penalty, and support for the poor make him not only a literary genius but also a deeply influential figure in French history. Beyond the exhibits, the location itself is stunning. After the tour, I took a moment to enjoy the Place des Vosges, one of Paris’s oldest and most elegant squares, which perfectly complements the timeless charm of the museum. For literature lovers, history enthusiasts, or anyone looking to connect with the soul of Romantic-era Paris, La Maison de Victor Hugo is an absolute must-visit. It’s not just a museum — it’s a portal into the mind and heart of a man whose words continue to inspire the world.

Loved it, so beautiful. The chinoiserie is incredible! It’s a quick house to get through, I enjoyed it and some of the art spoke of poverty, death, humanity. It’s right on the place vosge, worth a peek for sure! I like checking out writers homes, it’s interesting

If you are a fan of the authorised Victor Hugo, who wrote Les Miserables and others, then this is a must visit. It is totally free without needing to do anything in advance and you can just show up. Even if not a fan of the author but near the Place des Voges area, then come for a free entry into a historic house. You can do it express in half an hour if you wish.

If you like opera and art, one shall not miss this. So glad I made the effort to come here. Surprise me a lot and very informative. Free of charge on entrance. Paris is huge but do yourself a favor to come here. Its location of the park is gorgeous. What a gem at this quiet district without mass tourists.

A small yet impressive museum offering a close look at Victor Hugo’s life through his works and personal belongings. Admission to the permanent collections is free, while temporary exhibitions require a paid ticket. Victor Hugo was not only a writer but also an advocate for the preservation of France’s historic monuments, raising awareness and helping strengthen the 19th-century architectural conservation movement. If you have enough time, this centrally located museum in Paris is must-visit.

The Arènes de Lutèce is a partially destroyed Roman amphitheatre that was discovered in the 19th century and is surrounded by lush gardens. It is one of the few remaining Roman-era structures in Paris, dating back to the 1st century AD after the Roman conquest of Lutetia. With a capacity for up to 17,000 spectators, it served as a venue for various events including theater performances and gladiator fights.
This old roman amphitheater turned into public garden is an amazing place to come relax in the heart of paris, read a book or have a bite. I also got to people watch french people and families playing and having their noon breaks. A nice clash of history and nature. It is free of charge.

It’s free! Only some tours make you think it’s not which unethical. It’s a relic for sure and it’s nice to interact with the place which can be quite hidden because it’s behind existing buildings. Nice to see people playing games and having fun, after all this is in a residential area and isnt made for tourists. Not super relaxing but more of a place to engage and see how Parisians interact with each other. Lots of decent shops around and quieter green spaces if you need relief
Caïna V — Google review
Free to visit. The Roman theatre from the first century AD once hosted theatrical shows and gladiatorial contests and could seat 15,000 people. Much of the seating was destroyed and what you can see now is new. But you can still see the huge stage. It's now a city park and easily accessible.
Tris R — Google review
The Arenas of Lutetia are one of the rare surviving traces of Roman antiquity in Paris: the amphitheater was built in the 1st and 2nd centuries AD, when the city was called Lutetia and was under the rule of the Roman Empire. The arenas were created as a multifunctional space for gladiator fights, theatrical performances, and public gatherings, and they could accommodate up to fifteen thousand spectators. The arenas of Lutetia were partially destroyed in the late 3rd century, around 275 AD, during the Germanic (Frankish and Alamanic) raids on Lutetia, and they were never rebuilt. They were subsequently abandoned and remained hidden beneath the city for a long time, until they were rediscovered during the construction of the Rue Monge in the 19th century, sparking a wave of interest among Parisian intellectuals, including Victor Hugo, who advocated for the preservation and restoration of the monument. Today, the arenas are open to the public and serve as a peaceful urban space where you can see the remains of the ancient walls, the stage platform, and the spectator seats. However, much of the structure has been lost, and it would be great to restore it to experience the atmosphere of Roman Lutetia and the fascinating history of its disappearance and rebirth. The overall impression is somewhat sad due to its neglect and unwelcoming nature. This place deserves proper attention....

I was shocked by the return policy at Galeries Lafayette. As an international shopping destination, you would expect flexibility and customer-friendly service—but that was far from the case. The return policy is rigid, unclear, and feels deliberately restrictive, making it extremely difficult for customers to exchange or return items, even when they are unused and in perfect condition. It’s disappointing to see such an iconic store treat customers this way. I won’t be shopping there again, and I would advise others to be very cautious before making a purchase.

One of the nicest parks in Paris with lot of statues and a wee lake and a pyramid! There's a grand playground for kids, too. There's free toilets that were quite all right when I was there. The garden was quiet (if you stay away from the kind corner), lush and we'll maintained.

Simran B — Google review
The Parc Monseau in Paris is located in the 8th arrondissement, but on the very border of the 17th arrondissement. It is a unique example of the Anglo-Chinese landscape style. Its history began in 1769, when the Duke of Chartres, the future Philippe Égalité, purchased the land. He entrusted the creation of the park to the writer and gardener Louis Carmontel, who departed from strict French traditions and filled it with romantic and exotic structures, many of which have been preserved: the Egyptian pyramid, the Dutch bridge, ancient ruins, Corinthian columns and a rotunda. The name of Monceau Park really comes from the distorted name of the village of Mousseaux, which previously existed on this territory. This is confirmed by authoritative sources, including historical references. It is also possible that it means "a beautiful place" in the old local dialect. The park became public after the French Revolution. Geologically, like the rest of Paris, it is built on the sedimentary rocks of the Paris basin, mainly limestone, which was mined in the ancient quarries under the city. The uniqueness of the park is in its atmosphere, which has given rise to many legends. It is especially interesting to visit in the evening, at sunset and after it. But at 21.00 the park is closed. It is said that a ghost of a former gardener lives here. Some visitors have seen shadows moving among the trees, especially near the Egyptian pyramid, which was built in 1778 when the park was created, filled with exotic and antique architectural "caprices." Thus, it is about 245 years old. The uniqueness of this Parisian pyramid is that it is one of the earliest decorative structures in Europe that were stylized in the Egyptian style, created before Napoleon's Egyptian campaign, which sparked widespread interest in Egyptian culture. This pyramid is not a tomb, but rather an entrance to an abandoned tunnel, which adds to its mystique. The tunnel likely leads to ancient limestone quarries, some of which are now collapsed. Park Monseau is not just a green oasis, but a place where history, art, and mysticism intertwine in a whimsical pattern.
Azar — Google review
For me, Parc Monceau wasn’t just a park. It was a reminder of why I travel. Yes, it’s important to see the icons, to marvel at the monuments that define a city. But equally important are the quiet places where a city reveals its soul. Parc Monceau isn’t famous in the way the Eiffel Tower is, but it tells you something about Parisian life: elegance without pretension, beauty without spectacle. I left with the sense that I had discovered a secret, even if thousands of Parisians already knew it well.

Nestled in the heart of Le Marais, Musée Cognacq-Jay is a treasure trove of 18th-century art and culture. The museum showcases a meticulously curated collection amassed by the founders of La Samaritaine department store, reflecting their fascination with the 18th century during the early 20th century.
A brilliant free museum. The couple who gifted it to the city were avid collectors of fine art. This is their private game and the collections of paintings sculptures furniture and porcelain though small is of very high quality. The toilets at many levels down. There are free lockers to put your bags in. You need a €1 or 2 coin to do so but it is returned.

You can enjoy here art from the 18 th century: drawings, furniture, sculpture and painting nicely displayed in the small rooms of this townhouse en the heart of Le Marais. Beautiful display of masterpieces from Guardi, Boucher, Fragonard and others worth visiting and it is entrance free !

Perhaps not so well known, this museum doesn’t seem to have many visitors. A shame because it’s very interesting. The staff is friendly and kind. The entry is free (you can leave donations when leaving)
Ana — Google review
The museum cost €11 per person, which felt quite expensive for what it offered. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to what was promised. The visit went by very quickly, and the artworks didn’t feel particularly special, more like something you might find at a market rather than a curated exhibition. I don’t want to sound too harsh, but they should either make it free or put more effort into the curation to make it a more engaging experience.

Lovely small museum for free. Doorman was very nice and welcoming! No wait to get in. Spent about 15 minutes inside.

Not a free museum. Very mini, with only 13 rooms. The staff was indifferent, except for the gentleman standing guard at the door. Compared with other museums in Paris with rich collections, I have to say that the tickets are too expensive. I spent half an hour looking at all the exhibits I could.

Garden
Nature & Parks
Tuileries Garden is a 17th-century formal garden in Paris, known for its statues and historical significance. The garden hosts the popular Tuileries Christmas Market, offering a mix of Christmas-themed carnival and market attractions. It stretches along the north edge from Rue des Pyramides to Place de la Concorde and attracts millions of visitors each holiday season. The garden's French-style design features precise geometric layouts and allegorical statues by renowned sculptors.
Stunning well kept gardens with gorgeous views of the aesthetic buildings surrounding it. We walked from through the gardens to the Louvre and it was beautiful stroll. I liked how there were lawn chairs around the fountains. Great place to sit down, relax, enjoy a nice chat and or a good book. Was a beautiful day in May to visit the gardens. Highly recommend!
Porsha L — Google review
These photos were taken last summer and last winter, and if you visit the Louvre Museum, I highly recommend taking a rest here. Once winter arrives, rides and food stalls appear, and although the Ferris wheel feels a little shaky, it is the only spot that offers a full view of the Tuileries Garden. As a note, the food is neither very varied nor particularly tasty, but I suggest sitting on one of the green chairs by the large circular fountain to enjoy a moment of relaxation and truly take in Paris.

what i like the most about this parisian garden is to seat around the fountain, i just think it's very romantic yet calming. you can read books or just stare! it's not the type of green park it's more of a grandeur royal park?? (hope you understand what i meant..)

Jardin des Tuileries is beautiful, especially in November when the gardens already start to feel Christmassy. Walking through the paths, enjoying the sculptures and fountains, it’s a peaceful and charming spot. Perfect for a relaxing stroll and soaking in the seasonal atmosphere.
Raushan N — Google review
Despite being here in Autumn / Winter-ish time, the gardens were still pretty, the evergreen buses and trees contrast wonderfully against the creams, beiges and browns of the buildings surrounding it, providing a lovely area to stroll through and look around. We would love the see it in the Spring / Summer with the flowers in bloom.
Jamie H — Google review
Tuileries Garden is one of those rare spots in the heart of Paris where time seems to slow down. Nestled between the Louvre and Place de la Concorde, it’s the perfect escape from the city’s rush — a place where you can just sit back, breathe, and take in the calm. The atmosphere is beautifully relaxed, with locals and tourists alike lounging on green chairs by the fountains, children sailing little boats across the ponds, and the sound of laughter floating through the tree-lined paths. What makes it even more special is its charming ride — the Ferris wheel (La Grande Roue de Paris). Taking a spin gives you a stunning panoramic view of the city: from the Louvre to the Eiffel Tower, all framed by the park’s elegant symmetry. It’s both romantic and peaceful — especially at sunset when Paris glows in gold.
Omid K — Google review
Today was Fete Tuileries, so all of the gardens were flowing with people and rides for kids and plenty of chairs for everyone to sit down. The gardens and flowers are lovely and they are dotted with sculptures to add even more beauty. Very pleasant and police to help keep things safe and orderly. There are large umbrellas for people to sit in the shade as they eat and drink. Fun and beauty for all ages
Naomi S — Google review
The Tuileries Gardens are pure magic in the middle of Paris. Just steps from the Louvre, they offer a breath of calm and beauty that feels almost otherworldly compared to the lively streets just outside. It’s the perfect place to slow down and really soak in the essence of the city. The carefully manicured tree-lined paths, sparkling fountains, and timeless sculptures create a dreamy blend of art and nature that captures the soul of Paris itself. What makes the Tuileries so special is their versatility. You can take a quiet morning stroll, sipping a coffee and watching the city slowly wake up, or spend the afternoon people-watching as Parisians and tourists alike fill the park. Children laugh as they sail toy boats in the fountains, couples linger on benches, and artists sketch in the shade. Every corner seems to tell its own little story. Golden hour is particularly enchanting, when the setting sun bathes the gardens in warm light, casting long shadows across the gravel walkways and making the statues glow. Whether you’re walking through on your way to the Louvre or simply sitting still and letting time pass, the Tuileries never fail to offer peace, elegance, and that uniquely Parisian sense of timeless beauty. Truly, it’s a must-visit.

The Place des Vosges is the oldest planned square in Paris, dating back to 1612. Located in the fashionable Marais district, it features a central green area with fountains and is surrounded by red-brick mansion houses. Once home to royals at the Hotel des Tournelles, it now boasts high-end boutiques, galleries, and top-rated restaurants. Nearby accommodations offer stylish interiors and a tranquil private patio.
This planned park is beautiful and well used. I wish we’d had a picnic here, but we found it while walking off lunch. I recommend enjoying a lovely and relaxing afternoon here.

Very cool park, the symmetry is amazing, you can either rest on the seats or hang out on the grass. I always have my lunch here with the sandwich I bring, it is peaceful and a nice escape
Kardelen S — Google review
Place des Vosges is an absolute must-visit. Seriously, it's my favorite park of all time! It might be small, but it's incredibly charming and instantly transports you to a quieter time. It's especially stunning during the late summer and autumn when the leaves start turning those incredible shades of gold, red, and brown—the photo ops here are just unreal! Be prepared for it to get super busy when the weather is nice, but trust me, it’s worth navigating the crowds. It's perfect for a quick, peaceful stroll or, even better, planning a full picnic lunch on the lawn. And the best part is you’re surrounded by amazing local finds! There are tons of cafés, restaurants, chic boutiques, and brilliant boulangeries just steps away. Grabbing a fresh baguette, some cheese, and a pastry to enjoy right in the park is essential. Plus, there are so many fascinating things to see and do in the immediate area.

One of the garden for your stop and capture some good moments. The trip from Louvre by walking here. On the way here, you can enjoy shopping along the way and observe the parisian life.

It is a small, quiet a nice place to share with friends, family, or just by you own and read a book! Please relax and lay down on the grass and enjoy it. There is also a sandbox, so kitties could play as well! There is a bathroom inside the park, makes things easy. Around the park are souvenir shops, and cafes!
Angelica B — Google review
A quaint spot to play, meditate, exercise, or browse nearby boutiques. Shaded by neatly trimmed platanes and tilleuls, the park offers cool refuge under their canopies. Under the colonnades, you’ll find art, quirky shops, and bars. Come early to catch a quieter mood, a few sleepers and early risers shifting about. By 9, the tourists begin to arrive. Nearby, the Victor Hugo House museum adds a touch of history.

The Wall of I Love You, located in the Montmartre district of Paris, is a popular and romantic landmark. Created by artists Frederic Baron and Claire Kito in 2000, this striking mural features the phrase "I love you" written 311 times in nearly 250 different languages. Visitors often can't resist taking selfies in front of this unique wall within Jehan Rictus square.
Very romantic and quiet spot in Paris. The area was not busy at all the the park in which the wall of love is located is very pretty and well taken care of. The wall itself if so cool, getting to sit and find the “I love you” in your language with your partner is so fun! We love this side of Paris, it is much calmer (cleaner) and quieter for those who are looking for a break from the louder more crowded parts of Paris! If we make it back to Paris this is definitely a spot we would come back to!
Alejandra D — Google review
Worth a visit if in the area, just a wall with I love you written on it in seemingly every language. Free but will only take 5 to 10 mins. Crowded but not overwhelmingly so and can still get decent pics if patient.

If you ever find yourself wandering around Montmartre in Paris, there’s a really cool spot you shouldn’t miss - the Wall of “I Love You” (Le Mur des Je t’aime). It’s basically a huge wall covered with the phrase “I love you” written in over 300 different languages. Yeah, it’s pretty much a love explosion! The wall was created by two artists, Frédéric Baron and Claire Kito, who wanted to create a place celebrating love in all its forms and languages. It’s located in a small square called Jehan Rictus Square, tucked away near the famous Sacré-Cœur Basilica. The wall itself is made of blue tiles with the words painted in white and red, and it’s about 40 square meters in size. What’s really special about it is that it’s not just for couples, it’s for everyone who believes in love, whether that’s romantic love, friendship, or just a general good vibe. Visitors often stop by to take selfies, leave notes, or just soak in the positive energy. It’s a perfect spot for a chill moment during a busy day of sightseeing. So, if you’re in Montmartre, make sure to swing by the Wall of “I Love You.” It’s a simple, sweet reminder that love is universal, and it’s found in every language around the world.

The Moulin Rouge, a renowned 19th-century cabaret in Paris, is an iconic landmark with a rich history of captivating performances. Since its establishment in 1889, it has attracted both locals and tourists with its elaborate Belle Epoque decor and dazzling can-can dance shows. The venue has hosted numerous showbiz stars and continues to be a popular nightlife destination for Parisians.
The Moulin Rouge is an iconic Parisian cabaret situated in the Montmartre district. I purchased tickets about a month in advance and was only able to secure seats for the 11:30 p.m. performance on my preferred date. I contacted the venue via email to inquire about a waiting list for the earlier show and received a prompt reply within an hour, advising that guests could check on the day of the performance for any available cancellations. We arrived roughly an hour before the show and enjoyed a drink at the bar next door. Entry into the theatre was smooth and well organized. Although the line was long, it moved quickly and efficiently. The show itself was world-class and far exceeded my expectations. While the tickets are expensive, the price is clearly reflected in the exceptional level of service, the elaborate costumes, and the overall quality of the production. The frequent costume changes and the precision of the dancers were particularly impressive. It was a truly memorable evening, and I would absolutely do it again. In the end, visiting the Moulin Rouge felt like experiencing a piece of Parisian history brought to life in the most dazzling way. It’s an evening that captures the city’s spirit of art, glamour, and celebration — an unforgettable highlight of any trip to Paris.

The spectacular, high energy "Feerie show" with its can-can dancers, acrobats, and 80s performers. The costumes and visual production are fun. However, seating wasn't so so. Tables are packed closely together. You cant chose your seats in advance. The mattress d'assignsbthem upon arrival. They seat us at the very front side table so we had very limited view. The ticket is expensive with dining option. Just buy the show ticket. This is one time to experience. I wouldn't do it again.

If u do reservation in advance, don’t forget to change the ticket at the counter, it’s just 2 next door. Then get in line, the staff will help us to show us to our table. We can only take picture / video before the show start. Dinner start at 7-9pm, then the show will start at 9-10.30pm. free flow wine/beer/soda/juices.

Go. Don't hesitate. Iconic show. Elegant and beautiful. Buy your tickets directly from the official website. Arrive slightly early to get in a (well organized) line. Arrange your transportation ahead of time if you see the late show as public transportation might not be available. Stunning, non-stop show. Highly recommended!

That is a place of contrast but it is definitely worth visiting at least one time! I’ve seen the best and the worst costumes on one stage. I’ve seen the best and the worst performed on one stage . OMG, I've seen so many pics and videos of Moulin Rouge❤️, I had to go check out this amazing building. Paris is always awesome, isn't it? Moulin Rouge is seriously gorgeous & I heard this is the birthplace of the modern form of the can-can dance. You gotta see it in Paris!
Hitendra Q — Google review
We paid €255 per person for our experience. We were given the option to choose one appetizer, one main course, and one dessert, with two options for each. Our expectations for the food were quite low, but we were pleasantly surprised! The dishes were well-balanced, and the beef (starter), salmon (main), and chicken (main) were tender and flavorful, reminiscent of dining at a decent Parisian restaurant. Each person also received half a bottle of champagne as part of the package, so we had a full bottle for two people. Before the show, you get to enjoy live music while having dinner. I’ve attended this show before, but I had forgotten how magnificent it is! Everyone should experience the Moulin Rouge at least once in their lifetime. It’s absolutely worth every penny, and I’m surprised they don’t charge more! Thank you to the team for all your hard work in providing such an amazing show for us, the customers!
Laura B — Google review
We chose the package without food, just champagne as we already had dinner plans. While £150 per person to see a show and have some fizz is a lot of money, it was worth every penny. The scale of the show was phenomenal, the acts breathtaking, the sets spectacular, the venue iconic. So pleased we went.

Architecturally a fascinating place — pipes, ducts, and all the “backstage” bits boldly worn on the outside like a design statement. It looks a bit like a refinery with a library and an art gallery inside. Not everyone’s taste, but definitely not boring. The view from the top floors is great, and the building itself feels like a piece of modern art before you even walk in. :)

An iconic building for architectural history. It appears between classic historical buildings with an huge bravery. And it shouting like ‘here I’m !” A colorful and extraordinary architecture, a like a sculpture of modernism. Also it really bigger than I have expected. Whether you are an architect or not you need to see this building before you leave Paris! A real artwork of Renzo Piano👏👏👏

We visited several exhibitions that were held there, some of them were useless, some of them were nice, but i have to say what i enjoyed the most was the view from the highest floor, from which you can see all the major monuments of Paris. The gift shop had some nice things, although it’s a bit expensive. The building is ugly from the outside, but very spacious from the inside.

This was my second time visiting Centre Pompidou - the first was three years ago, when everything was still open, and now for the Wolfgang Tillmans exhibit. I had a great time! The place is definitely worth visiting if you have any interest in art. I can’t wait for it to fully reopen so I can enjoy the views from the upper levels again.

wanted to visit before it closes for the next five years and was not disappointed. even though it only features one exhibition by wolfgang tillmans (which was great), the building is architecture wise stunning. if you look closely, you’ll see why renovation is needed though and i’m excited to visit in 2030 to see what they have made out of this interesting place!! if you are in paris and are not decided if it is worth visiting, DO IT! even if the exhibition is not quite your interest, the building is interesting enough and if you are from the EU and under the age of 26 the entrance is free!

We reserved the tickets for the first Sunday of Jun but no info says that permanent exhibition is closed. Entry is friendly for parents who have strollers. We went to kids gallery. It’s the worst I have ever seen, very small without interesting games. Installation very simple but charging each parent 8€ to accompany their kids. They have a beautiful cafe but cakes look very dry and expensive. Toilets very dirty. Terrible experience!

Sights & Landmarks
The Pont des Arts, also known as the love lock bridge, is a picturesque bridge over the Seine River in Paris. It connects the Louvre Museum and the Institut de France. The tradition of adding locks with couples' names and throwing away the key to symbolize an unbreakable bond became popular on this bridge, but due to damage caused by their weight, the locks were removed in 2015 and replaced with glass panels.
🔐 Love Locks 🔒 ❤️ 💕 Pont des Arts is one of the most romantic spots in Paris, known for its countless love locks. Compared to Pont Neuf, there were definitely more locks here, creating a unique atmosphere full of memories from couples around the world. My wife and I didn’t attach a physical lock, but we left our "lock of the heart" here—a promise that our love will last forever. It was a quiet but meaningful moment for both of us. If you’re visiting with someone special, I highly recommend walking across this bridge. The view over the Seine and the feeling of leaving a part of your love behind make it a truly memorable place.!
Douglas S — Google review
What a magical place. So I have been multiple years and multiple times to this exact place. I would recommend going in the early morning if you’re into taking cinematic romantic pictures. If you want other pictures videos of this particular place, take a dinner cruise. If you’ve never done it before and you’re at the stage of life where you really just want to enjoy scenic Paris. Take it at 8 pm. I really enjoy this bridge because walking to it and then to Napoleon’s tomb is a wonderful walk and just nice.. It’s a lot of history and quite frankly just beautiful. We also went this year on July 14 so we saw all of the military parade fanfare. Very interesting way to experience Paris.
Shien Z — Google review
A bridge made for photos, romance, and love locks — though most of them had to go before the whole thing collapsed. Now it’s more of a chill spot with great views of the Seine and the Louvre. Perfect for a break, a sit-down, or just watching boats (and tourists) float by.
Michael N — Google review
This bridge of lovers is amazing! A good spot to take lovers' or couple pictures. There was an ice cream court at the end of the bridge, try it! But for your own safety don't leave locks on the bridge, it is not allowed anymore and the police may charge you.
Dávid F — Google review
Pont des Arts is one of the best spots in Paris for sunset, with a clear view down the Seine and the city lighting up around you. It connects the Louvre to the Institut de France, and the open walkway gives you plenty of angles for photos, though you’ll need a bit of patience to snap a clean shot. As the sun dips, the golden light on the river and rooftops is worth the wait. It’s the kind of place where you can pause, breathe, and take in the beauty of the city without needing to rush off, making it one of the simplest but most memorable stops in Paris.
Noel M — Google review
I love to take a pensive, leisurely stroll along the bridges of the Seine. The bridges over the Seine are all beautiful and poetic, but the Pont des Arts is one of the most poetic. As I look at the people gathered at the Pont des Arts, I imagine their beautiful lives.
Yasukawa Y — Google review
This bridge is calm, wide, open, and has beautiful views of the Seine on both sides. Even though most locks have been removed (because they were literally breaking the bridge), people still attach one or write their names on ribbons. It’s a romantic walk, especially around sunset. Feels very cinematic.

Shakespeare and Company Bookstore, located in the Latin Quarter's 5th arrondissement on the Left Bank of Paris, has been a beloved haven for book enthusiasts since 1951. Nestled in a charming spot overlooking the Seine, this iconic English-language bookstore offers a diverse collection of new and used titles, ranging from classic literature to contemporary bestsellers.
I could only spend sadly 15 minutes in the store, but being surrounded by all the books and the franchise was magical. The interior wasn't very spacious, and photography was forbidden, just to make sure all customers could enjoy the sea of knowledge and the lovely atmosphere.

Taking photos inside the store is prohibited, this is a very famous bookstore in Paris. I liked the fact that they had an eclectic selection of english language books in stock, the prices are a little high, so you could order the same books for cheaper on amazon. If you enjoy the in person experience of buying books in store, this is the place for you. I would say their collection isn’t complete and I couldn’t find the books I was looking for, but I enjoyed spending time there. They have very cute tote bags for 20€, which for me wasn’t worth it. If you have time, I would say it’s worth a visit.

We love this book store! It has so much character, so much charm and magic. You can’t take pictures inside so it’s definitely worth seeing for yourself! They have a great selection of books and just a great souvenir when visiting Paris. The kids section is also very charming. Lots of nooks to sit and read. So if you want a rest while touring, this is a great spot. There will be a line to get in but it moves fast. It’s small but so so charming. My kids definitely enjoyed going in there. Upstairs is a reading room with lots of old book collection and typewriters throughout. Just so cool the be in there. There’s also a cafe next door.

Was here in 2010 and this visit certainly didn't disappoint either. The smell of books, literature of times gone past and those new unopened pages yet to be discovered just warms me up inside. We'll organized sections and floor to ceiling of books, glorious books! The history of this place is enticing enough. I bought 4 books, one from the 2nd hand section, one new and two from the collectors bookshop next door. My first book purchase here was in 2010 written by a favourite author Lewis Carroll, Curiouser and Curiouser. Friendly staff too. Thankyou 🤗

A fantastic book shop in the centre of Paris! This amazing shop had a great variety of books, both recent and older versions, ranging across many writing genres. Its interior space was limited, but very beautiful, historic (no photos allowed inside) and very organized. I would visit again as it offers a great opportunity to find rare books which are not easily found elsewhere.

This is place is worth the hype and the tiny queue outside! If you are a lover of all things books then this a must on your itinerary. Whitman and Beach created a moment in time and place where art is celebrated for its humanity and its power. When technology and social media rule the world, this place is the safe haven we all need. My recommendation is to to queue, peruse and purchase...you won't regret it. Oh, don't forget to watch the world go by at the cafe next door.

Shakespeare and Company is a magnet for English speakers and book lovers in Paris. Chock full of new, rare, and antique books, this popular bookshop is full of history. Phones and photos strictly forbidden inside! Do not let the line waiting to get in discourage you. The line goes quickly. Highly recommended!

Flea market
Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen, located north of the city, is renowned as the world's largest flea market with 2,500 shops spread across 15 sub-markets. Navigating through this vast market can be overwhelming, but joining a guided tour in small groups over the weekend can make the experience more manageable. These tours provide insights into the unique character and specialties of each section while offering valuable tips for securing great deals.
So much more than a flea market, this is immense; antiques, galleries, specialties, music media, instruments, nostalgia, fashion, you name it. Much of it is organized in specialized boutiques; fabulous. This is a place to get to know if you live in Paris because it is the ultimate resource for anything you may need. Get there early and give yourself time to explore; there’s a lot to see!
Luiz P — Google review
Not your typical flea market. First of all it is the largest flea market in the world and is massive with 10 different sections. You can find everything from antiques, vintage art and postcards, furniture, records/cds/cassettes and curated vintage clothing. Prices are on higher end but there are some good deals to be found, you may just have to look hard. Definitely worth checking out if you like secondhand and vintage decor.
May — Google review
Really huge marche aux puces, memorabilia, furniture, discs, vintage clothes, shoes. I was tired but happy to visit such an intriguing place like that.
Rosangela M — Google review
5-star rating for the experience. You can find everything from junk on the sides of the streets to high-grade antiques in specialised shops. Don’t expect to find any bargains here. Everything is at the top level of the price range for the condition its in, or way overpriced (except perhaps for the junk mentioned above). I sincerely recommend it for the experience, for a few and surprisingly good cafés that are among the shops, and for bying interesting things if you can find them and if you can afford the asking price. Some price haggling can be had, but not much. Expect to spend quite a few hours walking around. (I never manage to spend less than 3-4 hours per visit and I could easily spend double that time, despite having been there for at least 4-5 times.) The things that one can see, are incredible. The place is alive only on weekends. I have gone there on weekdays and almost everything is closed. Saturday is probably the best day to visit. Highly recommended if you like that sort of thing as I do.
Van L — Google review
Really is massive and the amount of merch in each store is remarkable. My only negative was that I think of flea markets as being a haven for bargain hunters. If that is you too, then this is not the place to go. Bargaining may be the rule, but at 15E for a cotton tea towel there would have to be a lot of bargaining to get it down to what I would consider a flea market find.
Wendy G — Google review
It’s more a collection of tiny shops rather than flea market set ups. Prices quite high, but good place to admire Parisian wares and art.

Impressive flea market where you can literally get lost. It felt like a treasure cove.and the three generations in our party enjoyed the visit immensely.

So cool experience if you like thrifting/flea markets/antiques. Just be prepared for how overwhelmingly big it is. It isn’t as cheap as you’d expect either. It’s still very recommended just for the experience.

Sainte-Chapelle is a 13th-century Gothic chapel in France, known for its ornate design and notable stained-glass windows depicting biblical scenes. Commissioned by King Louis IX to house his collection of Passion Relics, including the Crown of Thorns, it remains a place of spiritual and aesthetic charm. The chapel's Gothic architecture and over 600 square meters of stained glass create a sacred atmosphere that draws visitors from around the world.
I just got back from visiting the Sainte-Chapelle, and I'm still trying to process how breathtaking it was. Honestly, pictures and videos don't do this place justice—it's an experience you have to see for yourself. The first part is the Lower Chapel, which is beautiful with its vaulted ceilings and deep blues, but it's really the Upper Chapel that steals the show. As soon as you walk up the narrow stairs, you are enveloped by light. The walls are almost completely replaced by 15 enormous stained-glass windows towering 50 feet high. It feels less like a building and more like walking inside a giant jewel box. If the sun is shining, the whole room turns into a kaleidoscope of color—you can see centuries of biblical stories painted in vibrant light. It’s an incredibly moving and serene spot, and easily the single most stunning architectural sight I’ve ever seen in Paris. Do yourself a favor and make sure you go on a bright, sunny day if possible!
Kyle J — Google review
• A Gothic masterpiece: Built between 1242 and 1248 by King Louis IX (Saint Louis) to house precious Christian relics — including the Crown of Thorns — Sainte-Chapelle is one of the finest examples of Rayonnant Gothic architecture. • Unforgettable stained glass: The upper chapel features 15 towering stained-glass windows, each over 15 meters tall, illustrating more than 1,100 biblical scenes. When sunlight filters through, the entire space glows in a kaleidoscope of reds, blues, and purples — an experience visitors often describe as “spiritual” or “otherworldly.” • Compact yet awe-inspiring: Unlike sprawling cathedrals, Sainte-Chapelle is intimate. You don’t just see it — you feel it envelop you in color and light. • Central location: Located on the Île de la Cité, next to the Palais de Justice and a few steps from Notre-Dame, it’s easy to combine with other major Paris attractions. • Historical significance: As the private royal chapel of the French kings, it represents both religious devotion and the peak of medieval artistry. ⸻ ⚠️ Things to keep in mind • Crowds and queues: Sainte-Chapelle is small and extremely popular — lines form early, and the chapel can feel packed, especially mid-day. • Security checks: Entry is through the Palais de Justice complex, so airport-style security applies. Arrive early to avoid delays. • Limited visit time: The experience, while stunning, is short — most visitors spend about 30–45 minutes inside. • Lighting conditions vary: The stained glass looks best on sunny days (late morning to mid-afternoon). On cloudy days, colors appear softer and less vivid but still atmospheric. • Lower chapel first: The entrance leads you through the modest lower chapel before you ascend to the breathtaking upper chapel — don’t rush; the contrast enhances the reveal.

A Breathtaking Masterpiece of Light and Color! Sainte-Chapelle is one of the most stunning sites in Paris — truly a hidden jewel of Gothic architecture. The moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by a dazzling display of stained glass that fills the chapel with radiant light and color. Each panel tells a story from the Bible, creating a sense of awe and serenity unlike anywhere else. The upper chapel is especially mesmerizing, with its towering windows and intricate details that make you feel as if you’re standing inside a jewel box. Don’t let the long line discourage you — it’s absolutely worth the wait. Even after visiting the grand cathedrals of Europe, Sainte-Chapelle stands out as one of the most unforgettable experiences. A must-see in Paris — peaceful, spiritual, and breathtakingly beautiful!
F A — Google review
Visiting Sainte-Chapelle was honestly one of the highlights of my trip to Paris. It’s tucked away on the Île de la Cité, inside the Palais de Justice complex, so from the outside it doesn’t look like much. But the moment you walk upstairs into the main chapel, it’s breathtaking — the entire space glows with color. The chapel was built in the 13th century by King Louis IX, who wanted a special place to keep religious relics, including what was believed to be the Crown of Thorns. Knowing that history makes the place feel even more meaningful. There are two levels inside. The lower chapel is peaceful, with painted arches and golden stars on the ceiling, but it’s the upper chapel that truly amazed me. The walls are almost entirely made of stained glass, and when the sunlight shines through, the whole room is filled with red, blue, and violet light. It’s one of those moments where you just stand still and stare — photos don’t do it justice. I went in the late morning on a sunny day, and the light was perfect. It can get a bit crowded, but the atmosphere is still very calm, almost spiritual. The visit doesn’t take long — maybe 30 to 45 minutes — but it stays with you. If you’re already visiting Notre-Dame or the Conciergerie, it’s just a short walk away and definitely worth it. Sainte-Chapelle isn’t big, but it’s unforgettable.
Przemyslaw K — Google review
I would say it is the most beautiful church I have seen. Starting with a small and less light at the below church which is in vivid blue color, walkinh through a little staircase to go up. Then suddenly we are in a brilliant space, over scale of human height ceiling, and the most magnific is all the mosaic glass which tells the stories of the bibel. Small notes: - You still need to be in the queue even booking the ticket before, 30-45mins. - Sercurity check as air port - the shop gift inside will make you spend money a lot :))) as they have many nice stuffs - Enjoy all the small craving details also
Quỳnh N — Google review
Remarkable array of stained glass windows and a fascinating history. Breathtaking. This chapel is different because it’s no longer a church; it’s operated by the ministry of monuments. The employees couldn’t have been more accommodating. My friend uses a walker and they came up to us and offered to take us upstairs via an elevator. Incredibly kind, courteous staff. I’ve been to Paris multiple times but never visited here before. We went to Notre Dame a couple days ago and it felt stark and commercialized. Sainte-Chapelle offered a more spiritual experience in my opinion!

Place de la Concorde, the largest public square in Paris, is a historic site with a dark past as the location of guillotine executions during the French Revolution. This majestic square features fountains, statues, and an ancient Egyptian obelisk known as the Luxor Obelisk. It serves as a connecting point between the Tuileries Gardens and the Champs-Elysees.

The panoramic views across Paris, stretching toward the Eiffel Tower and up the Champs-Élysées, are breathtaking and make for incredible photos. The atmosphere at night is both lively and serene, offering a peaceful break from the city’s bustle. Walking past the illuminated architecture and monuments, I was struck by the grandeur and elegance of the space. Despite some traffic around the area, the experience remains undisturbed, with enough room to stroll and take in the historic beauty.Place de la Concorde is a must-see, especially after sunset. Place de la Concorde is one of the most beautiful and historic spots in Paris. The view is breathtaking — especially at sunset when you can see the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Élysées, and the Tuileries Gardens all from one place. The architecture and the atmosphere make you feel the grandeur of Paris. It can get crowded, but it’s absolutely worth the visit.

Place de la Concorde is great for selfies, but there’s not much to do if you stay longer. Busy streets all around, so it’s not exactly the best spot for breathing exercises — or even for kisses. You’ll find much healthier places just a short walk away by the Seine!
Darius R — Google review
A fantastic gift from Egypt 🇪🇬 to France 🇫🇷, the Luxor Obelisk is the oldest monument in Paris (over 3,000 years old!). It stands on the former Place de la Révolution, where Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette were beheaded. Thanks to Champollion, its hieroglyphs were finally deciphered!
Anthony C — Google review
When you first arrive, the scale of the square hits you. It’s the largest square in Paris, and you immediately feel that openness compared to the narrow cobblestone streets that surround much of the city. Standing there, you get a sense of being in the middle of something grand, with wide views stretching out in every direction. • To the west, your eyes follow the iconic Champs-Élysées, leading your gaze straight toward the Arc de Triomphe. • To the east, the pathway points toward the Tuileries Garden and the Louvre, which are only a short walk away. • To the north, you see the elegant façades of the Hôtel de Crillon and the French Naval Ministry. • To the south, the River Seine glimmers, with the Eiffel Tower peeking out in the distance if you angle your view just right. It’s like standing at a crossroads of Paris — everything seems connected from this central point.

An Egyptian obelisk sits on the spot where the guillotine chopper off the heads of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, a gold plaque on the ground marks the spot. And the water fountains are magnificent.

This is a great place for history buffs and features beautiful statues, fountains, and the coolest obelisk I've ever seen (a gift from Egypt!). Marché aux Fleurs Reine Elizabeth II de Paris is a charming flower market that has been attracting plant enthusiasts since 1830. Located on lIle de la Cite, this quaint market features multiple vendors selling plants, crafts, and live birds in metal and glass pavilions that exude an old-world charm. The stalls are filled with a wide variety of plants, from flowering shrubs to tropical plants stored in on-site hothouses with a red and yellow neon glow.
A place that is outside of this world. The colours, scents and beauty of this market is so lovely. We just happened to discover this market and so glad we did. So nice to just browse. It was also covered so we were protected from the rain.

This place is a dream. I love plants and nature in general and this place makes me feel really happy. There are different kiosks, different owners and each one of them sells different items for your garden or your house. Maison de Balzac, located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, is a house-museum dedicated to the renowned writer Honore de Balzac. It showcases exhibitions on his life, displaying personal items, manuscripts, first editions, and memorabilia from his time there. The museum also features a library with historical artifacts such as sculptures, original manuscripts, discarded drafts, and doodled books.
I did not know about this until a friend told me. This is the former residence of French novelist Honoré de Balzac. It was in the outskirts of Paris at the time. It was the guest house of a larger estate. It contains a lot of artifacts, drawings, sculptures and writing related to Balzac. The cottage is small but worth visiting. The main attraction for me is the outdoor garden. A lot of flowers and plants and a lot of places just to sit and take in the quiet. A small cafe on site is very nice too. Definitely worth a visit.

This is a free museum in Paris, YES free. Of course I was aware of who Balzac was but was keen to learn more. It was easy to find and you enter via a modern gift/book shop, from here there are either steps or a lift to the garden level where the original buildings are. There is also a lovely cafe at the garden level. The old building houses the museum, exhibits are mainly labelled in French although some have English explanations as well. On a sunny day the gardens are worth a visit in themselves .

We found this after seeing a post that it was a good place to see the Eiffel Tower. It is perfect to escape the crowds and enjoy history on author Balzac. The cafe and garden are small but lovely. We had a short coffee break and enjoyed the views. The museum of the house is free but exhibits are cost. It's definitely off the beaten path. It's delicious on all accounts. Stop at some of the nearby parks, too, if walking back.
Regina M — Google review
As a great admirer of Balzac, I was really looking forward to visiting his house and discovering the famous coffee ritual that fueled his writing. The mythical “café de Balzac” intrigued me, and I was eager to try it at the coffee shop. Unfortunately, it was only available for purchase in the upper boutique and not for tasting on site, which was quite disappointing. It would have been wonderful to experience Balzac’s coffee in the very place where he lived and wrote. The visit itself remains fascinating, but I left with a sense of something missing.

This year, 2025, in particular, the celebration of the 200th anniversary of France-Brazil diplomatic relations brought a tropicalist green and yellow color scheme to the decorations and equipment. Despite the fact that swimming is permitted in the monitored areas, I didn't see anyone venturing in for a dip. The idea: to transform the banks of the Seine into veritable urban beaches for Parisians not on vacation. Since then, the initiative has expanded to several locations and offers spaces for relaxation, leisure, and sports every summer in the heart of the capital. In 2025, Paris Plages returns from July 6 to September 1. The two main locations are the Rives de Seine (between the Pont des Arts and the Pont de Sully) and the Bassin de la Villette in the 19th arrondissement. The event is completely free. It features deckchairs, water misters, refreshment stands, children's playgrounds, pétanque courts, as well as water activities such as kayaking and paddleboarding at the Bassin de la Villette. The atmosphere is friendly, family-friendly, and very summery, with occasional musical or sporting events. Paris Plages is now a much-anticipated summer event, offering a different way to experience the city. It's a great success in terms of temporary urban planning and cultural accessibility. Housed in a former railway station, the Musée d'Orsay in Paris is renowned for its major 19th- and 20th-century European art collections. The building was originally constructed as a central terminus station on the site of the ruined Palais d'Orsay and was designed by architect Victor Laloux.
I'm using Paris Museum Pass, just join the line via Entrance C. This is one of the coolest art museums in Paris, it’s a must-visit if you’re Van Gogh's fan or simply into art. What makes it really special is that the building itself used to be a huge train station, it was the Gare d’Orsay, built around the early 1900s. Instead of tearing it down, they turned it into a museum, which means you get this amazing mix of old industrial architecture and art all in one place. Inside, the museum is packed with incredible artworks, mostly from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. You’ll find tons of famous Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings here, artists like Monet, Degas, Renoir, Van Gogh, and Cézanne. If you love those bright, colorful paintings or want to get a feel for the art that changed the world, this is the spot. Besides paintings, the museum also has sculptures, decorative arts, and photography. It’s pretty manageable in size, so you don’t get overwhelmed like in some bigger museums. The museum sits right on the left bank of the Seine, close to the Louvre and the charming Saint-Germain area. So, it’s easy to fit it into a day of exploring Paris. It's recommended to visit here. :)

A wonderful collection of art from the time of the invent of the camera forward. The Orsay Museum houses some of the world's most treasured art pieces. From Monet, Gauguin, Manet, Renoior to Van Gogh and so many more. Paintings and sculptures abound in the former train station. A half-day should be the minimum amount of time spent in the great halls of the Orsay. My last visit we elected to use a self-guided audio tour and enjoyed every step. The Dance at the Moulin De La Galette by Renoir is my current favorite. Degas' multi-texture sculpture Petite danseuse de quatorze ans is another favorite. The Orsay is along the Seine near many other stops that I like to make when in the area. Stroll along the river and take in the magazine stands and vendors. Maybe a river tour starting from Pont Neuf. With a little time left in your day the Luxembourg Gardens and the Shakespeare and Co Bookstore are easy additions to your afternoon trek. While I might prefer the Louvre or the Vatican overall as a museum...the Orsay has so many great works of art it should be included on your itinerary. Definitely, something for everyone on this side of the Seine.

I absolutely loved the Musée d’Orsay in every way. I'm still processing the incredible experience— the art, its history, and the vibrant energy that fills the space. The best part was that, even during my 3–4 hour visit, it never felt overwhelming like some other large museums. I'll definitely return every time I visit Paris.

I didn’t get the ticket in advance but it was very easy to get in. There was only a few people in front of me at purchase point and no wait to get in. Quite crowded inside but if you navigate yourself well you can find moments where people passed by and the spots become quiet. Insane collections. Love love love their pieces. Highly recommend coming here for the Paris visit. I would plan at least 2 hours for being in here so you dont rush around. It was wonderful!

Too many tourists - the impressionist section was more like a football ground. The museum controlled the entrance to the cafe better than the crowds in the impressionist section. It was impossible to enjoy the art. Not worth the entrance fee in my view.

A beautiful large museum that used to be a train station. Has multiple levels of art work from modern to post impressionism. The Starry night was one of the main attractions. There is a huge cafe on the top level, and a large outside area to see great views of Paris - can clearly see the Sacre Couer Basilique in the distance. This is a must visit in Paris.

Located in Paris, Musée Carnavalet is a unique museum housed in two neighboring mansions, Hotel Carnavalet and Hotel le Peletier Saint Fargeau. It offers a comprehensive journey through the history of Paris from its early beginnings to the 20th century. The museum's collections include a wide range of artworks and artifacts, such as Marie-Antoinette's slipper, ancient iron-work street signs, and paintings depicting significant historical events.
Awesome and overwhelming free museum covering 8500 years of Paris history. You can easily spend 5-6 hours here going through everything from the Paleolithic inhabitants of Paris, Roman period, Middle Ages, wars of religion, Louis XIV, the revolution, the 19th century and beyond. This museum requires a lot of reading. There are great visuals throughout, but the general format uses portraits and other visual material to illustrate explanatory text; if you don’t have an encyclopedic knowledge of Paris history, get ready to read or you might not get the much out of it. For me, it was awesome!

Nestled in the charming Saint-Germain neighborhood, Église Saint-Sulpice stands as a stunning testament to 17th-century Baroque architecture. Often referred to as the Cathedral of the Rive Gauche, this grand Roman Catholic church boasts an intricately designed facade and a breathtaking dome that bathes its interior in natural light. Its construction spanned nearly a century, from 1646 to 1745, involving numerous architects and resulting in an unfinished south tower that contrasts with its taller counterpart.
Not sure why but I was a little overwelhmed by the experience. It's impressive in size and architecture but there many cathedrals that compare. But there was something about the visit that was different in an emotional way for me on that day. Anyways, if you are nearby then take the opportunity. It's worth the time. It's free. It's accessible.

Saint-Sulpice Church is a remarkable historic landmark with impressive architecture and art. I attended mass here, and the atmosphere highlighted the grandeur of the space. A significant place to experience both heritage and worship in Paris. The church is spacious, historically significant, and less crowded than other Parisian monuments, making it easy to explore its details and artistry.
Pascale-Cécile — Google review
The Church of Saint-Sulpice, located in the fashionable 6th arrondissement of Paris, is one of the most significant and largest churches in the city, second only to Notre-Dame in size. Its construction took more than 130 years, from 1646 to 1780, and involved several architects, resulting in a distinctive blend of Baroque and Classical styles. The church was originally built on the site of an older 12th-century Romanesque church. The building's facade remains unfinished, lacking one of its planned towers, giving it a unique, somewhat asymmetrical appearance. The interior is striking in its scale and austere elegance. The main treasures inside are the frescoes by Eugène Delacroix, located in the first chapel on the right. Another unique artifact is the gnomon, an astronomical instrument created in the 18th century to accurately determine the date of Easter. It consists of a copper strip embedded in the floor of the nave and a system of holes in the windows that allow sunlight to fall on a white marble obelisk and a scale on its surface at noon, marking the spring equinox.

Montparnasse Cemetery, the second largest cemetery in Paris after Pere Lachaise, spans 19 hectares and is a serene resting place for numerous renowned writers, artists, and intellectuals. Notable figures such as Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Samuel Beckett, and Serge Gainsbourg are interred here. The tree-lined paths offer a peaceful setting for contemplative walks amidst the graves of famous personalities.
I listened to the cemetery guard clicking to call a pigeon he was intent on feeding Susan Sontag, Samuel Becket, this graveyard is special for more than the famous people it holds. The tall thin mausoleums, the wrought iron doors and the stylish stone carvings. With limited time between connections from Gare Montparness and Charles De Gaulle flights, i managed a 30 min rest in the graveyard. It's clearly worthy of half day at a time. Bordered by street cafe's of varying quality but always delivering excellent people watching, Especially on a Saturday morning when the street market is in action

I walked through the Montparnasse Cemetery in Paris on a quiet summer evening. It was a very peaceful and contemplative atmosphere. I visited the graves of Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir. I didn’t know how many big and important people are buried here until I entered this place. It’s not fun but sometimes I enjoy walking in the cemeteries. Makes me a bit chill. This place is beautifully designed and gardened. Some graves are really special and some of them are scary. I’m from Iran and and I was shocked when I found out some of our old important politicians and artists are buried here. People like Shapour Bakhtiar, Ali Amini and Fereydoun Hoveyda are some examples. Completely worth a visit and a peaceful walk.

Montparnasse Cemetery offers a quiet, reflective escape from the hustle of Paris. It’s vast, with winding paths and many notable graves, making it easy to get lost in its serene atmosphere. Among the famous figures resting here are Charles Baudelaire and Samuel Beckett, adding a layer of literary history to the peaceful surroundings. The cemetery is a beautiful place to explore, with tall trees, intricate tombstones, and a sense of solitude that’s rare in such a busy city. While it’s not a major tourist destination, it’s definitely worth a visit if you enjoy history and want to take a quiet stroll through a lesser-known part of Paris.

This is the second largest cemetery in Paris and dates back to the beginning of the 19th-century. There are around 35,000 plots including famous artists, actors, writers, philosophers and political figures. Many of the tombs are elaborate and quite beautiful to see, the grounds are well kept and peaceful to walk through. Best to read up online before arriving if there are particular graves that you want to find. There are also plot maps posted from time to time within the cemetery. Some have information for where to find particular burials that you may be looking for.

The Musee Cernuschi is a must-visit for Asian art enthusiasts, offering a unique opportunity to explore centuries of Chinese paintings and calligraphies. Established in 1898 by Henri Cernuschi, an economist and avid collector, the museum initially housed his extensive collection from Japan and China. Over time, it has expanded to include ancient and contemporary art as well as artifacts from Vietnam and Korea.
The Cernuschi Museum (Musée Cernuschi) was founded in 1898 by financier Henri Cernuschi. Its initial collection consisted of Chinese and Japanese artworks. It is one of the five largest collections of Chinese art in Europe and the second-largest museum of Asian art in France. The museum houses over 15,000 pieces, including ancient bronzes, ceramics, stone sculptures, paintings on paper, and silk paintings, showcasing 5,000 years of Chinese history. It is well worth a visit for inspiration.

BlueHope27 — Google review
The museum was founded in 1898 by financier and collector Henri Cernuschi This museum is considered the second most important museum of Oriental art in France after the Guimet Museum. It houses a collection of 12,500 objects representing the fifth largest collection of Chinese art in Europe. Henri Cernuschi, an Italian by birth, was a revolutionary who participated in the anti-Austrian uprising in Milan in 1848, but after the uprising failed, he fled to Paris, where he made a fortune in banking. Disillusioned with politics, he embarked on a journey to the East, visiting China, Japan, Korea, and other countries, from which he brought back over 5,000 unique art objects, including bronzes, ceramics, funeral figurines, and painted silks. The museum's central exhibit is a bronze Buddha statue from the Japanese region of Meguro, which was purchased by Cernuschi in 1871 for 500 gold coins. This 4.5-meter-tall statue, created in the 18th century, is considered one of the largest Japanese bronze statues outside of Japan. The museum's collection spans from the Neolithic period (8000 BC) to the 20th century and includes unique artifacts such as bronze artifacts from the Archaic Period (15th century BC to 3rd century AD), Han Dynasty art, Wei and Sui Dynasty burial statues, Tang and Song Dynasty ceramics, and rare Liao Dynasty jewelry. The museum building, designed by the architect William Bowens van der Boijen in the neoclassical style, was built as a private residence of Cernuschii and later donated by him to Paris, along with the accumulated collection. The atmosphere of the museum, filled with ancient artifacts, creates a sense of mystery and immersion in the past. I also liked the contemporary works of ceramics, unusual, original.

Musée Cernuschi is one of Paris’s most elegant and underrated museums. Dedicated to Asian art, it offers a calm and beautifully curated journey through centuries of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean masterpieces. The collection is stunning — from ancient bronzes to serene Buddhist sculptures — all displayed in a bright, modern space facing Parc Monceau. The atmosphere is peaceful and contemplative, far from the usual museum crowds. It’s a place to slow down and appreciate beauty in detail. A true hidden gem for art and culture lovers

This museum was a great surprise. The collection is not big but it is highly curated and has exceptional pieces Cernuschi gathered during his voyage around Asia. The big Buda is undeniably the biggest surprise due to his size and location. The building is beautiful too, and it is located right next to Parc Monceau.

The Panthéon is an 18th-century mausoleum in Paris with a grand colonnaded facade. Originally intended as a church, it now serves as the final resting place for notable French citizens. This Neoclassical monument is a prime example of Enlightenment architecture and houses the remains of influential figures such as Voltaire, Rousseau, Hugo, and Curie.
Sizable place. Beautiful building. I liked how there were multiple themes going on with the art. (Christianity, Genevieve, etc) The crypt is interesting because there are many famous/important historical figures in there. But all the crypts are the same/redone. The rooftop was closed.on my day.

An extremely interesting historical place with thumbs of famous French. It worths to go down to the thumbs, to learn about those politicians, philosophers, authors, scientists, but I liked the large space and pieces of history on the ground floor. Beautiful, amazing, original.

Beautiful building. Not crowded. The crypt is amazing with notable historical figures (Victor Hugo) to current historical figures. The ambience was definitely church-like and quiet, respectful. Definitely worth a visit. Thd Pantheon is included in The Paris Pass, which I highly recommend purchasing if visiting Paris and it's plethora of museums.

It was an amazing experience for me and my family. The building is pompous and looks amazing as it stands above the city. The paintings look nice and the staff is friendly and welcoming. There’s a small reconstruction of the Pantheon inside one of its halls, so you can imagine the architecture better.

Just beautiful! The murals on the walls are exceptional, the space awe inspiring, and the tombs a sobering reminder of some of the great people that helped form the French identity. It truly was a special experience, informative, and a nice pause from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Weirdly enough I visited this place 3 times already in a year. Honestly it just takes you once to fully visit the Panthéon, feel the special solemn atmosphere and engulf yourself in the stories of France's history. The queue also isn't long (for a under-26yo free unreserved entry), the surrounding square is beautiful too and don't forget to visit the church nearby where lies Saint Geneviève.
Minh N — Google review
The Panthéon was truly impressive. It wasn’t crowded, which made the visit very enjoyable. Inside, it’s fascinating to see the tombs of great figures like Victor Hugo, Voltaire, Rousseau, and Marie Curie. The grand dome and frescoes are breathtaking, and Foucault’s Pendulum is a highlight – a simple yet powerful demonstration of Earth’s rotation. Unfortunately, the terrace was temporarily closed – I would have loved to see the Paris view from there. Overall, a peaceful and historic site, definitely worth a visit.

French inscription: “Aux Grands Hommes La Pattie Reconnaissante” (To great men, the grateful homeland) / the facade caught my eye as I wandered through the streets of Paris / the streets envelope the building creating a squared block traffic pattern around the building except for the triangular courtyard in front / welcomed diversion from my path to the Seine
