Angelina is a legendary tearoom that has been serving refined pastries and hot chocolate in a belle epoque-style setting since 1903. It's considered one of the best places for hot chocolate in Paris, especially for visitors to nearby museums like the Louvre. The luxurious tearoom offers an indulgent hot chocolate experience, served with whipped cream at a slightly high price. Breakfast and brunch are also delightful here, making it perfect for special occasions.
What an absolutely dreamy experience at Angelina! 💫 The prices are on the higher side, but trust me — the hot chocolate is 100% worth it. It's like a rich, velvety hug in a cup. And the atmosphere? Simply stunning! I felt like Marie Antoinette in the 18th century, surrounded by elegance and charm. The staff was absolutely wonderful — so friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. We were lucky to arrive early, so there was no waiting at all, which made everything even better. My grandma also bought the box to make hot chocolate at home, and she’s completely hooked! It’s a perfect spot for special occasions — can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a luxurious, indulgent treat. 🍫✨

If you’re in Paris, you must try this Legendary and Delicious Chocolate Emporium. There are many choices to choose from. I tried their hot chocolate. It was delicious but was too sweet for me to finish the large mug. The chocolate eclairs and the Mille feuille were crunchy and fresh. But my favorite was the Monte Blanc. See the photo. The Mont-Blanc from Angelina's in Paris is a signature Parisian dessert made of a meringue base, a light whipped cream filling, and topped with a mound of sweetened chestnut purée "vermicelli". Created at the beginning of the 20th century, its name comes from its resemblance to the snow-capped peak of Mont Blanc in the Alps. It was soooo Delicious. I had it every day during my trip. You must Not miss this special place in Paris. Prepare to wait for a table. Most of the times we took our order to go and ate them either in Jardin des Tuileries or in Jardins du Trocadéro over looking at the Eiffel Tower. I can’t wait to return soon.
Rabih J — Google review
Beautifully appointed elegant tea room right out of the 1900's. The tables and chairs have been in place since the 1920s, the gilded decor and antique mirrors lendifil of earlier times. The drinking chocolate was amazing! Breakfast was as well. Service was excellent. I would highly recommend!
Dena M — Google review
Simply the best mont blanc in Paris (and probably worldwide). Always fresh and so unique. Exceptional hot chocolate too. Breakfast is good but expensive. Beautiful inside but there is usually a long queue. Either avoid peak hours or take away and enjoy in the Tuileries right across the street. One of the truly "incontournable" places in Paris.
James D — Google review
Arrived on a Wednesday at 11am. There was no wait and we got seated right away. We were seated in the overflow room and not the main room. The hot chocolate was dark, silky and creamy. Also ordered a croque Madame that was devine. Bread toasted optimally. I preferred Angelina but the other memvmber though Carvette had the better hot chocolate.
Charlie S — Google review
I visited Angelina and honestly found it disappointing. It wasn’t worth the ten-minute wait to be seated, and the interior itself wasn’t particularly attractive once inside. One positive is that the location is excellent — it’s close to busy areas in Paris and very easy to get to. The service was good, which I appreciated. A downside for me was that they didn’t offer any alternative milks — only cow’s milk — which meant I couldn’t try the oat chai latte I’d gone specifically for. I ordered the Tarte Coco Passion, which was just okay, and the Golden Detox drink. The total came to €19.50, which felt steep for what I received. I’ve had far better experiences elsewhere, so I wouldn’t return. To avoid the queue just go in and get a take away cake and a hot chocolate! If you want to try!
Chloe B — Google review
This place is overrated. We had to wait in a queue for around 40 min. Then once we were in, the tables were too close to each other and you’re literally sitting with strangers. The brunch menu was standard nothing special. The hot chocolate was very nice and their pastries were too. But food wise, it was just standard.
Sana S — Google review
We visited around 3 p.m. on a Sunday, and there was a bit queue, which we didn’t mind. We came specifically for their signature Mont Blanc. I’ve been enjoying this Mont Blanc for over 10 years whenever I visit Paris, but in my opinion, it used to taste better before. Now it’s served in a paper cup — convenient for takeaway, but it feels a bit cheap when dining in the salon, especially considering the €10.50 price. It’s worth trying at least once if you’ve never had it, but I’m not sure I’d come back for it next time.

Patisserie
Caterer
Stohrer is a renowned pâtisserie that has been serving exquisite sweet and savory desserts and baked goods since 1730. Located on Rue Montorgueil, a bustling street in Paris, it offers a sensory delight with its array of boulangeries, patisseries, and food markets. Founded by Nicolas Stohrer, the pastry chef to King Louis XV, Stohrer is famous for inventing the rum baba.
The oldest pastry shop in Paris totally deserves a visit! I tried the vanilla flan, chocolate éclair and dark chocolate with hazelnuts, and it was all really delicious. The flan was the best I have ever eaten,so soft and the vanilla flavour was so rich! I will definitely go back and try something else. If you are in Paris, this place is a must-visit!
Gergana T — Google review
Stohrer is absolutely charming! The interior feels authentically Parisian and full of character. Their pâtisseries are incredibly delicious — especially the passion fruit tart and their chocolate is simply mouthwatering. A must-visit for pastry lovers!
Nour S — Google review
so good!!!!! It was our first time in the bakery so we just ordered what we thought might’ve been good. I loved the passionfruit desserts i got, they were my favorite ones. Macaroons were soft and chewy and I loved the flavors! The chocolate cake one was a bit too sweet but still 10/10!! I think the third one we got was a carmel thing which we didn’t like as much, the flavor was a bit too bland except for the crunchy shell of sugar. But again we were just randomly trying things, so overall everything was amazing! Will definitely come back again :) !!!
Ilovefood Y — Google review
The chocolate babka was very rich and delicious. The other desert had a good amount of rum in it. No coffee or seating here though so find some other place nearby for it. Overall would recommend!
Saravanan S — Google review
Exquisite lemon tart with good balance of tartness and sweetness Hazelnut Praline cake was excellent Although Stohrer is famous for their rum baba, it’s too alcoholic to my liking. It was drenched in rum syrup
Emma — Google review
Stohrer patisserie is the oldest patisserie in Paris, was founded in 1730 by King Louis XV’s pastry chef, Nicolas Stohrer. The store is beautiful, you should take a look if you’re around. Their patisseries look amazing, I tried raisins and nuts covered with chocolate and the chocolate eclair. Both were amazing 🤤 the quality of their ingredients is top classic. I bet all their offerings taste equally good.
Gigi — Google review
The oldest pastry shop in Paris. What they do is classic but excecuted perfectly. You can taste the sugar and butter properly. Love it. A muat visit when in Paris. Would be great to have a place to sit but not a deal breaker.
Alex G — Google review
I expect the palmier can be crispy but in fact it’s been a little bit oily. It’s probably because it’s been stored too long. I don’t like the taste of rum. I can’t believe a baba cost me 6.5 euro.

Pierre Hermé is renowned for his exquisite pastries, particularly his macarons and viennoiseries. His croissant, inspired by the Ispahan macaroon, features a buttery base with a rosewater glaze, raspberry flakes, and fillings of raspberry and lychee jelly along with rose-scented almond paste.
This little shop is a great place to stop by to get the famous macarons of Pierre Herme. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and speaks excellent English. You can get your macarons in a pretty metal box which is a nice memory for a tourist, and I must say they really are delicious. I also liked it how the macarons come with a flyer listing all the variants the Pierre Herme shops have, so that you can easily check which macarons your collection happened to have. Probably you wouldn’t otherwise remember it, so save the flyer! Maybe the price of the macarons is somewhat higher than in an average bakery, but in fact I was surprised how the prices were actually not even nearly as high as expected. The 4-piece package cost between 14 and 15 euros, which is not super much higher than what the average macarons would cost.
I F — Google review
Single macaron € 2.9 I chose praline pistachio and the lovely staff recommended rose flavor one so I tried those two macarons. I usually don’t like desserts with flower scents but rose flavored macaron was so much better than I expected:) It didn’t smell like artificial things. I could see why she told me this one is their most famous one! And pistachio one was another level. If you like pistachio or other kinds of nuts, must try it! + the staff was extremely kind so even if I couldn’t speak French I’ve never gotten in trouble in making an ordering🥹❤️ Thank you so much!
Nikki S — Google review
The macaroons were lovely. I recommend the apricot, which is a seasonal flavor and Jardon which is one of their famous flavors. I would give five stars but they closed earlier than the time listed online which was disappointing
Gabi B — Google review
Our group each got one macaron to try first so we could taste the flavours before deciding what to buy. The macarons themselves were delicious, and one asian staff member who helped us was very friendly. However, another worker seemed to laugh at us for only getting one macaron each, making a comment to her coworker, which felt unnecessary and a bit condescending. It made the experience uncomfortable, even though two people in our group (who were served by the friendlier worker) still ended up purchasing boxes. A shame, as the macarons were genuinely great.
Elodie L — Google review
Exquisite desserts- the hazelnut mille feuille was outstanding. Macaroons are excellent, we had rose and bergamot and caramel butter. It is a must try if you’re in Paris. Beautifully presented as take aways and gifts.
Su S — Google review
Finished my dinner and had a desire for macaroon. Although i was pretty fill up with food, the craving for just one macaroon got the better of me. Google and found this place. Bought chololcate and passion fruit as per recommendation ( i think it is called Mogador), and brought it back to the hotel to savour with some wine. It is good. I will buy again, in larger quantity, if timing permits.
Ash L — Google review
Very poor service to foreigners. We first came in and picked out a few macarons and chocolate for takeaway and the cashier lady re-confirmed :”That’s it?!” We were not happy but I have decided to try their pistachio panettone on my way out since we have traveled far to come here. The panettone cost $35 and it was so dense and tasted just like an ordinary orange blossom brioche. Apart from their macarons, I don’t recommend anything else.
Piyu P — Google review
Without a doubt, this was one of the most perfect desserts I've ever had. It was perfectly balanced, and the vanilla flavor was outstanding. I could definitely eat another one. And I'd love to try something else, too! They have croissants, macarons, and there were even some jarred fruit spreads. Yum! This place is so divine. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in!

Bakery
Du Pain et des Idées is a renowned bakery in Paris, known for its traditional French pastries and the signature "pain des amis" bread. The bakery's founder, Christophe Vasseur, takes pride in handcrafting the Friendship Bread, using organic flour to achieve its distinct flavor and crusty texture. In the morning, visitors can indulge in a variety of house-made pastries such as raisin rolls and different flavors of l'escargot (a traditional morning Danish).
Stumbled upon this bakery on our walk and I must say, it was one of the best I have tried in Paris. Their apricot tart with almond base is absolutely divine. Cannot wait to come back and try some other things too! Definitely a hidden gem.
Mara — Google review
Hi, Everything here is simply delicious - every baked good made with heart and utmost care. The decor of the bakery is beautiful and unique, full of charm and atmosphere that makes you want to come back. The staff are smug, passionate and welcoming. If you're in the area, it's worth trying everything, as each product is a little culinary masterpiece. Definitely one of the best places I've had the chance to visit!
David S — Google review
Du Pain et des Idées is a must-visit bakery located in Paris’s 10th arrondissement, one of the city’s most authentic and surprisingly safe neighborhoods, where you can still find some of the most affordable living compared to central Paris. The bakery itself dates back to 1875, and you can feel its timeless charm the moment you step in. But the real joy comes when you sit outside: right in front, there are wooden tables where you can enjoy their unforgettable croissants and the famous escargot pastry. A little tip – grab a coffee from the lovely café just next door, then settle down at the bakery’s outdoor tables for the perfect Parisian breakfast moment. This combination of history, flavor, and atmosphere makes it not just a bakery stop, but a true Paris experience.
Senem B — Google review
Croissants were very good, coffee was good but probably a bit overpriced. We were lucky that there was a short queue only when we went but the line was long moments later. Seating limited - only some bench tables outside. We had the pain au chocolates and the pistachio escargot - would recommend both.
Sindy T — Google review
best pastries I’ve had in Paris! We got pastries from so many places during our stay in Paris, but this was hands down the best one we tried! I got the Pain Suisse and it was still warm and so flaky - butter and chocolate perfection! Going back for more as soon as possible, truly the best pastries in Paris!
Francesca I — Google review
Extremely overrated, another overhyped photogenic spot… After hearing all the good things about it on social media, we were so looking forward to trying their pistachio snail but only to be left with disappointment. Completely agree with the other comments that it’s soggy and flavourless. You could barely taste the pistachio. To be honest, you don’t have to make a trip just for a croissant in Pairs. In my experience, with boulangeries around every corner of Paris, just head to the closest one to your location. Those frequented by locals would always do better pastries than the popular touristy places
Emma — Google review
This pastry shop lives up to the hype. There was a short line around 10 a.m., but it moved quickly. Two communal tables are available outside for seating. Several varieties of pastries lined the counter, with a special shout-out to the pistachio escargot and flan. My friend got the fig pastry and couldn’t stop raving about it the entire trip. If it were closer to our hotel, we would have visited daily.
Ngan — Google review
This is a true bakery. They don’t have dairy they don’t have any kind of meat, just coffee and products of flour. There are also lots of bees inside, which makes me think that this place is extremely clean. The staff was also extremely friendly. I wish them the best.

Ladurée is an upscale bakery with Parisian roots, renowned for its exquisite French macarons available in a variety of flavors. The brand gained widespread recognition after featuring in the 2006 film Marie Antoinette, where actress Kirsten Dunst indulged in their macarons. Known for their signature pastel-colored macarons, Ladurée has recently shifted focus under the leadership of pastry chef Claire Heitzler towards prioritizing quality ingredients and seasonal variations.
Visiting Ladurée Champs-Élysées is truly a magical Parisian experience. Located on the world’s most iconic avenue, this elegant tea room combines French luxury, history, and indulgence all in one place. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by a refined décor that perfectly blends tradition with Parisian chic. The staff is attentive, professional, and always ready with great recommendations, whether it’s for their world-famous macarons or the signature pastries. The macarons are, of course, the highlight—delicate, perfectly balanced, and bursting with flavor. Pairing them with a pot of their fragrant tea or a rich hot chocolate makes for an unforgettable treat. Their brunch and dessert menus are also excellent, offering a wide selection of French classics prepared with finesse. Whether you sit inside their beautifully decorated salon or outside with a view of the Champs-Élysées, the atmosphere is simply enchanting. It’s more than just a café—it’s a true Parisian institution where every visit feels special.
Bou B — Google review
A Glimmer of Parisian Grandeur on the Champs-Élysées Amidst the bustle of the Champs-Élysées, Ladurée’s flagship salon offers a serene retreat, a pastel jewel box that feels indulgently Parisian. While the avenue brims with global commerce, stepping inside transports you to a world of elegance and charm. The recent renovations have enhanced its timeless appeal, blending Belle Époque sophistication with modern comfort. The ornate interiors now feel warmer and more inviting, perfect for afternoon tea or a leisurely lunch. Of course, the stars are the macarons. Each delicate bite — whether the floral rose or the indulgent salted caramel — balances crispness with tender sweetness, a hallmark of Ladurée’s craft. The pastries are no less impressive, miniature works of art that delight both the eyes and the palate. Though often labeled a tourist pilgrimage, the attentive service and consistently superb quality elevate the experience well beyond cliché. Ladurée remains a place to savor not just French patisserie, but a touch of Parisian perfection, right on the world’s most famous avenue.
Gaurav S — Google review
Wow! I had high expectations for the macarons but was stunned by the beauty of the shop. They have curated this location so beautifully; you are in a dream being there! The Macarons were the perfect mix of slight crunch on the outside and soft, yummy inside. None of the flavors tasted artificial, and my favorite was the passionfruit. This is a must stop location in Paris.
K. H — Google review
Ladurée is a truly enchanting Parisian café. We tried their macarons and coffee here, but the experience goes far beyond that, the atmosphere itself is captivating. The setting is elegant and charming, and the macarons are absolutely delicious. To be honest, I’ve had macarons of similar quality in Türkiye as well, but the ambiance here makes everything feel more special and refined. Places like this are not just about taste- the whole experience comes together as one. It’s definitely a spot that deserves a place on your Paris list.
Ozan K — Google review
Very nice place, very cute french vibes. They have a restaurant, we didnt eat there. Its expensive. On the side door you can stand in line for the macrons. They use jam and not frosting, they were the best you will ever try most likely. Worth it to try. They have probably about a dozen or so flavors. You get a nice box with your purchase. They serve hot drinks and other sweets we didnt try them.
Porter C — Google review
I honestly expected this place to be a big tourist trap, but the truth is I really loved it. Yes, we had to wait in line to be seated, but it was absolutely worth it. The food was delicious – we ordered avocado toast, a burrata salad, a cocktail, and hot chocolates. Everything was beautifully prepared, and the hot chocolates were simply incredible! The service was excellent as well – attentive, professional, and very welcoming, which made the experience even better. To top it all off, we picked up some macarons at the end to take home as gifts, and they were delightful. Overall, it turned out to be a wonderful experience, much better than I had anticipated. Definitely a spot worth visiting!

Lauderee Paris is a MUST if you are visiting "The City of Lights" I highly reccomend the tea expérience, and their hot chocolate ! I was stunned at how delicous the Chocolat Chaud was! It was even better than "Angelina's" steaming beverage! Make certain to make réservations first, they do get quite busy. The staff is all very friendly and the atmosphère and ambiance are phénoménal. A small slice of Heaven on Earth!

A Glimmer of Parisian Grandeur on the Champs-Élysées Amidst the bustling grandeur of the Champs-Élysées, Ladurée's flagship salon continues to offer a delightful respite, a vibrant pastel jewel box that transcends mere retail. While the avenue itself can be a whirlwind of global commerce, stepping into Ladurée is to be transported to a softer, more indulgent Paris. The recent renovations have only enhanced its timeless appeal, with the refreshed interiors offering a charming blend of classic elegance and modern comfort. The delicate hues and ornate details still evoke the Belle Époque, yet the flow feels more inviting, more attuned to the leisurely pursuits of an afternoon tea or a relaxed lunch. And then, of course, there are the macarons. These diminutive confections, a hallmark of the house, remain as exquisite as ever. Each bite is a whisper of flavor — from the subtle floral notes of rose to the rich depth of salted caramel – encased in that inimitable crisp shell and yielding, tender interior. Beyond the famed macarons, the pastries are miniature works of art, almost too beautiful to consume, yet utterly irresistible. While some might consider Ladurée a pilgrimage for tourists, its enduring quality and the impeccable, attentive service suggest otherwise. It is a place where one can truly savor the art of French patisserie, a small pocket of perfection that, even on the world's most famous avenue, feels uniquely, wonderfully Parisian.

Ice cream shop
Tea house
Berthillon is a renowned tea room and ice cream parlor located on the charming Ile St Louis in Paris. Established in 1928, it has become a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists, especially during the warmer months. The shop offers a wide variety of creamy yet light ice creams and unique fruit sorbets that are considered the gold standard in French ice cream.
Some of the best ice cream I've ever had, and the very best in recent memory. We tried the mango, coffee, and salted caramel flavors and everything was exceptional. So rich and natural, each bursting with heavenly goodness in each bite. We waited for maybe 5 minutes and were seated inside, avoiding the perpetually long queue outside for the takeaway. Service was brisk and friendly, making for a lovely experience. Absolute must try if you're in Paris.
Saminda W — Google review
Yummy ice cream, I would definitely recommend getting their cream based flavours over their sorbets. I've tried their salted caramel and wild strawberry, and I must say the former is really delicious. It's not too sweet and has a very fragrant caramel taste. The strawberry flavour wasn't as impressive, it tasted a bit artificial to me. Queues can get pretty long, so I wouldn't bother to get the ice cream here if that's the case. I do think it's worth a try if there is a short queue though!
GG K — Google review
I came here with high expectations after reading so many glowing reviews, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to the hype. The place does offer an impressive variety of flavors — probably around 20 — which is great if you like options. However, beyond the wide selection, the ice cream itself was not particularly special. The texture and taste were just okay, nothing that stood out or felt memorable. It’s not a bad spot, but definitely not the must-try experience I was hoping for.
Charmed S — Google review
Suggested by a local, I had wanted to visit this place for a long time and now was finally the time! The wild strawberry ice cream is a must-try, but you can only order it during its season. We ordered it with whipped cream that should have been topped with fresh wild strawberries. However, they only serve those on certain days, so we received raspberry on top instead, but it was still good and fresh! If you have time, I recommend dining in, as you won't need to wait in line.

Fantastic ice cream on Isle St Louis. Great selections inside of a beautiful shop. The island is a beautiful place to stroll right near Notre Dame
Rick R — Google review
One of the best iconic ice cream spots around! The flavors are rich and smooth, and the sorbets are incredibly refreshing. The raspberry rose sorbet is absolutely to die for – fragrant, tangy, and perfectly balanced. A must-try if you’re an ice cream lover.
Lütfiye E — Google review
Hate to say it but the hype is real here… I took peach, mandarine and yaourt with yuzu, while my partner took chocolat, vanille and coco. All the flavors were insanely good but particularly the mandarine - I ordered another scoop of this flavor just because it blew me away from the first taste. Perfect service too. They served our ice cream with a little crispy caramel almond wafer that was so delicious and a perfect palate cleanser. Queued for about 20 mins in the middle of a hot summer day to get into the tea room but it was so worth it!! (The queueing area is well shaded so no worries about getting sunburnt too)

My most favorite place for ice cream in Paris, flavors are rich and delicious, just pick the flavors you want, wouldn’t be disappointed. Salted butter caramel, cassis and pistachio are my picks

Breizh Café is a charming creperie located in the Marais district, offering a taste of authentic Breton cuisine. The restaurant prides itself on using top-quality organic ingredients such as wheat and buckwheat flour, farmhouse butter, and Valrhona chocolate. Their menu features a variety of savory galettes filled with unique ingredients like smoked herring, crème fraiche, and herring roe or classic combinations like egg, ham, and cheese.
Reservations are a must as the Marais location is very busy. Food is delicious, fresh, and fast. A nice selection of beers and ciders and small appetizers in addition to the large menu of savory and sweet crepes. The buckwheat dessert crepe with buckwheat ice cream was a highlight.
Katie L — Google review
I have limited experience with crepes, but these buckwheat savory crepes were exceptionally delicious. They were light and the fillings were well-balanced. The menu was extensive, offering a wide variety of choices. I highly recommend the caramelized apple dessert crepe; it alone would be reason enough for a return visit. Our bill for six crepes, two teas, and two macchiatos was approximately 110€.

I took a 40-minute walk to this cafe from my hotel and it was worth it. It is in the Temple District, near the National Archives. Much to see along the way there. The place is rather small and seating cozily close. Service was warm. I had the Complete galette for dinner and it was delicious. It was downed with a Breizh Cola 👍🏻. Although I was close to full, I succumbed to the temptation of a sweet crepe to finish off my meal. I had the thick crepe with honey and vanilla butter. The thick crepe was soft and the vanilla butter tasted great. A meal with the walk effort 😍
Florine C — Google review
Second time to visit because the first time (two years ago) was so exceptional! The best selection of crepes and galettes in Paris! We shared one savory and one sweet selection between the two of us. Service was excellent; location is great!
Michael S — Google review
We had an amazing experience at Breizh Café! We ordered a variety of savory galettes and assorted sweet crêpes. Each one was absolutely delicious, with perfectly crisp textures and fresh, flavorful fillings. We also shared a jar of their apple cider, which paired beautifully with everything on the table. The quality, presentation, and authentic Breton flavors made this one of our most memorable meals in Paris. Portion is very big. The space has a warm, cozy atmosphere with friendly staff and a great vibe. Tip: Be sure to reserve in advance and arrive on time—this place fills up quickly, and it’s easy to see why. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to experience top-notch crêpes in Paris!
Philip L — Google review
Had what I think is the best meal I had during my stay in Paris here, it was that good. We went there for breakfast and had no reservation, it was no problem. We ordered different galettes and they were all great; although the very best one wasn’t on the permanent menu, but rather in the chalkboard with the ‘galettes du moment’. It was the Dame Tartin, which had caramelized apples, caramel sauce, vanilla ice cream and chantilly cream. It was divine, heavenly, it may actually be the best thing I’ve tasted in my entire life, no exaggeration. It was so good that we ordered it twice despite already being satisfied and could barely more afterwards. It was that good.
Ale R — Google review
The cafe is attached to the restaurant on the corner, but it’s a lot more quiet here, which was nice. The crepe with the caramelized onions was delicious, paired with a glass of the Brut Cider. The service can be a hit or a miss though; the server was standoff-ish and rude at first, and then we witnessed another server escorting out a family of 3 (I think it’s mandatory to each order a crepe and they didn’t want to??)
Aja B — Google review
I love Breih café en général. The salted caramel crepe blew my mind the first time I had it. But this location in the Marais was a total fail. Horrible service, in fact the worst I've had in Paris. The food was so-so (the crepes were soggy) and everything took an interminable amount of time. It was not crowded at all, so it was unclear what the ongoing hold up seemed to be. The head waiter seemed to have an issue with bringing menus to the interior customers as if that was above his pay grade. We waited forever for dessert menus as well. Enfin, he made me get up and walk to his station to pay, whereupon others seemed to get their check brought to their table. To add insult to injury, he then prompted me to tip on the check. That's a first. My tip? Skip this place and try a different location.

Carette is a well-established and sophisticated café renowned for its delectable sandwiches, inventive macarons, and traditional French pastries. It's been suggested that Carette offers the finest macarons in Paris, with locals favoring it over other famous establishments. The Place des Vosges location is particularly recommended for an authentic experience in Le Marais.
Stopped by Carette Café and it completely lived up to the hype! Their famous hot chocolate topped with a mountain of fresh whipped cream is a must-try — rich, thick, and absolutely heavenly. It’s easily one of the best hot chocolates I’ve ever had in Paris. I also ordered their Roasted Sea Bass, which was cooked to perfection — tender, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The seasoning was subtle and elegant, just what you’d expect from a classic Parisian café. The atmosphere is charming and elegant, with a great view and friendly service even when the place gets busy. Perfect spot for a relaxed lunch or an afternoon treat. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Paris!
Francisco M — Google review
I recently enjoyed brunch at Carette at Place du Trocadéro, and it lived up to its reputation. The food was delicious—flaky pastries, fresh croissants, and their famous rich hot chocolate with chantilly cream were spot-on and exactly what I expected from a classic Parisian café. The service was smooth despite the busy vibe, and the location near the Eiffel Tower added to the charm. However, be prepared for a long line, especially during peak times. If you’re short on time, plan accordingly or consider visiting during off-hours. Overall, a solid brunch spot worth visiting if you can handle the wait.

The loveliest experience at Carette all round.. definitely worth the hype if you’re thinking about it! Firstly the food was just incredible including the infamous hot chocolate and cream! The staff were so lovely, particularly Sandra and Chhay! Thank you for making it special for my mother’s birthday and for your kindness! You truly made our trip to Paris special ☺️ and I will definitely be coming back in December!

This place is totally worth the hype. Waited 60 mins to get in and i would do it again thats how much i liked this place. Great selection for breakfast, amazing hot chocolate, the best croissant, and jams that are the best i have tasted. Try the raspberry tart....its simply amazing.
Harris V — Google review
Visited Carette Paris and loved the aesthetic right away. The vibe is elegant but still cozy, making it such a nice first stop in the city. The line was quite long and if you’re dining as two, you’ll need to order individual beverages. They serve generous portions for both food and drinks. The bread was a bit too sweet for me and the tuna sandwich was just okay. I think we could have picked better from the menu. But the hot chocolate was on point, rich and comforting, and honestly worth the wait. 🍫✨
Joey E — Google review
Carette sits in one of the best locations in Paris a picture-perfect spot where people stroll by slowly, and everything feels straight out of a postcard. I went there mainly for the atmosphere and the famous hot chocolate that everyone seems to talk about. To be fair, the hot chocolate is good thick, rich, and comforting, especially on a cold day. It’s one of those things that instantly makes you feel like you’re in Paris. But beyond the view and the drink, I couldn’t help feeling that Carette is a bit overrated. The place carries this reputation of elegance and charm, but when you sit there and actually experience it, the service doesn’t quite live up to the name. The team feels a bit too busy, sometimes even dismissive, and that makes the whole visit feel less warm than it should. It’s not that it’s bad, but there’s this sense that they rely too much on their location and fame instead of focusing on how guests are treated. Maybe that’s part of the Paris café experience a bit of attitude served with your chocolate. I’d still say it’s worth a visit once, especially if you want the Parisian postcard moment, but I wouldn’t rush back. Sometimes beauty alone doesn’t make the best experience.
Bu S — Google review
Interesting experience - stylish, beautiful interior and a cozy place to visit, but way too crowded. Were waiting in queue for over 30 minutes. Food is tasty and looks nice, although not as exceptional as you could imagine when looking at the queue outdoors. Portions could be bigger for the price. The service is average as well - waiters are rushing for a quick turnaround. Overall, seems like a bit overvalued place, would give a chance for other places nearby or on smaller streets.
Ignas G — Google review
Carette deserves its reputation. The hot chocolate here is not a drink. It is practically a dessert on its own. Thick enough to coat the spoon, silky, dark, and balanced - not the sugar bombs you get in most cafés. It arrives with a generous bowl of whipped cream, lightly sweetened, and genuinely addictive. We ordered madeleines on the side, still warm, and dipping them into the hot chocolate felt almost ceremonial. The setting adds to the experience: classic Parisian interiors, gold accents, mirrors, whispered conversations, and a slow, elegant rhythm. The service was polite and unhurried, exactly what you want in a place like this. If you’re looking for a quintessentially Parisian café moment, this is the place.

Popelini is a charming bakery in Paris that specializes in crafting delectable cream puffs, also known as choux. With multiple locations across the city, this delightful shop offers an array of flavors such as coffee, chocolate, raspberry, and pistachio. Legend has it that the cream puff was originally created for Queen Catherine de Medici in 1540 and later adapted by Popelini. The menu may be small but it caters to various tastes.
Incredibly delicious and beautiful cream puffs. We tried the hazelnut, cafe, biscoff and vanilla cookie cream puffs and all well delicious. The cream puffs are light and airy and the flavor of the pastry cream intense. Can’t wait to go back and try other flavors!
Ruth L — Google review
We are absolutely in love with these choux. We used to live in Paris and now live in Thailand — yet these are the pastries we still talk about all the time. This week, during our trip back to France, we made a special stop in Paris just to have them again. Every flavor is delightful and distinct — rich, balanced, and full of character. The perfect harmony of puff, cream, and frosting. It’s hard to put into words how much we adore them. Truly one of the things we miss most about Paris.
S R — Google review
While this is a new take on Choux pastries, I couldn't shake the feeling that it was a mix of macaron and Choux that I was indulging in. Perhaps it's due to its petite size, but it's incredibly convenient to eat, especially if you're not looking to indulge too much. I tried the Choux of the day, which had a delightful hint of pineapple and mango. It was tasty, although I found there to be a bit too much cream for my liking. My absolute favorite, however, was the Pomme Tatin. It was beautifully flavored and perfectly balanced. Well done!
Gino H — Google review
The first time I had choux from Popelini was in 2022. They were so good then and still are today in 2025. The cream filling of each of the flavors are well pronounced without being too intense. The texture of the cream is smooth and almost velvety, not so dense that it feels heavy in your mouth. There's a good enough amount of soft crust for you to chew while savouring the cream with each bite.
Nipone S — Google review
We chose the passion fruit and cafe latte. The flavor largely comes from the crème in the choux. I would recommend to go with tangy/tart flavors after trying both. A reviewer said they are small. It’s true that I could hold both in 1 hand. I think they are the perfect size for a little sweet treat without feeling guilty. I wished the choux was a little more crisp like Beard Papa cream puffs.

Yes ! Try it !!!!! I Like it ,small and not over sweet and just right. I think I can eat few pcs in one time. Many options so you will find what you like ! Again, try it !! 🩷

L'Eclair De Genie is a renowned pastry shop that gained attention in 2012 for its exceptional eclairs. The classic chocolate-filled eclair remains a popular choice among locals. While the service is efficient, late visits may limit flavor options.
Really good éclairs! And the staff is very kind and as sweet as the pâtisserie itself. We tried the small samples first and came back two days later for 6 normal sized éclairs. Would love to see more mini-versions though.

We bought two croissants for 6€ each, which in my opinion is a really good price as the store is located in the galerie la fayette. The croissants were really delicious but you could taste they were not really fresh, maybe it's because we bought them at 12am. The worker was really welcoming, spoke fluent english and there wasnt even a queue.

Coming in to the gourmet section of the galeries lafayette is a treat (pun intended). Loved the flavour of the yuzu meringue éclair and the chocolate and pistachio. They lacked a crispy shell hence the 4 rather than 5 stars.

Jacques Genin is a renowned establishment located in the IIIe arrondissement of Paris, offering a delightful combination of a light-filled café and a charming tea salon. The interior features an understated yet rustic décor with exposed brick walls, metal beams, and leather sofas.
Very nicely presented chocolates, caramels and fruit pates. You can go for premade mixed assortments or do your own. Service is friendly and speaks English but with two and at times only one attending the lone for quite long, especially since most customers took some time to choose individually and from more than one category of products. High end products at rather high end prices, but worth an indulgence.
Naomi R — Google review
Chocolates were fine, 9 small pieces for 14euros is obviously expensive but theres some complexity The caramel though, 22euros for this small bag is simply crazy. 135euros per kg The taste is quite unique, although it's really not incredibly good. It's like hard caramel candy mixed with soft chewy candy, it's almost half liquidy in how malleable it is. The taste is interesting too, on top of the usual caramel taste there's another hint, although again it's definitely not good enough to warrant the price. Not sure why it's so popular, if you must come here, maybe try one or two caramels at most, definitely don't get the whole bag. For reference pictured costs me 37euros. Ridiculous

I have no issue with shops closing for summer vacation, but to walk across Paris for 45 minutes in 34c heat as my son wanted to go to this shop after watching YouTube videos to discover its closed is unacceptable and frankly arrogant on the basis you can't be bothered to update Google maps with shop opening times. A simple task to do, and shows courtesy.

Easily the most beautiful heavenly chocolatier. Gorgeous and delicious jellies so fresh and vibrant tasting. And those caramels, buttery and soft, rich and delicious. But wait, the chocolate! Complex fine fresh, deep flavors. The staff could not have been nicer. We made a few small purchases and they were kind patient and so helpful.

Love the pate de fruit. Was so sad to learn that the cafe portion of the shop closed years ago. Still worth a stop for the pate fruit and caramels.

This place is RIDICULOUS! I've gone in twice and had to wait forever. The chocolate buying process is so slow and they have two people at most working there. Nothing is worth waiting the times you are required to wait for a product. No issue with salespeople. Issue with how cheaply the very expensive store is run. You can't have a big store with a product that takes a long time to prepare and have only two salespeople. Or you can, but you're going to lose a lot of business. I have no plans to return.

Average prices. The staff wasn't very friendly, but they were attentive. We asked for a Croque Monsieur. They brought it burnt, but we had to replace it. The croissant was like a pastry, soft, and not as delicious as I expected. A complete disappointment. The eclairs were good. They gave a customer who came after us a toast wrapped in foil that had fallen on the floor. It was far below my expectations.

They speak English here and were friendly. We got the croissant and pain au chocolat; the croissant wasn’t the best we had, but it was still good. It had layers but it wasn’t crunchy and all that buttery. The pain au chocolate was the better of the two; had a nice crunch to it. I don’t know how much the drinks were individually but I got a latte and an orange juice for about 9 euros. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and delicious - highly recommend you get it.

Pâtisserie Carl Marletti is a renowned pastry shop named after its owner, a distinguished gourmet dessert chef. The establishment prides itself on exquisite presentation, precise craftsmanship, and exceptional flavors. The signature Lily Valley cake, infused with violet scent, and the award-winning Lemon Tart are just some of the highlights.
I don’t want to tell anyone about this bakery and would prefer to keep it my hidden gem. I came in to purchase one dessert for myself and after devouring it, I went back to pick up other treats for my family! Half of their stock was already gone within that time. If you aren’t a fan of something too sugary, the chantilly nougatine is a must try. It’s very light but the flavours are so well balanced. The cream on top is refreshing and it’s my new favourite dessert. They packaged the desserts very well and they came out of the box without a scratch after being in subways and a busy bus. The associates were very kind and even packaged one of my desserts separately so it wouldn’t tumble on the others. Can’t wait to return! The only con I can see for others is the price point. For the box I purchased (5 items) was around 44 euros.

I love this bakery with all my heart ❤️ I go there every chance I get. All the small desserts are amazing, from the big cakes I love the white raspberry cake 🎂 I've been getting it for years. Definitely recommend trying some of their sweets!! Just grab one dessert and sit in the nearby cafe with coffee, it's the best! Or park just across the pâtisserie BUT I DON’T recommend ordering additional drawings on the cake 😂🥲 Don't get me wrong - I appreciate the work and effort that might go into this, but I had slightly different expectations. Below I've attached a picture of what I ordered and what I got. Not bad, but yeah, haha. However the cake was delicious!! 🤤

Visited 2022. Delicious and worth going for high quality patisserie dessert items. The flavors were very delicate and went well together.

A local favorite recommended by residents. Everything looks beautiful, and I chose the éclair, which was visually stunning — I didn’t even know where to start! The cream was smooth and not too sweet, truly a blissful treat.

The pastries are almost as beautiful as they are delicious. The flavors are balanced and multilayered. It’s like trying to pick your favorite child, try them all and enjoy the exploration and journey.

We were experiencing serendipity to get to this place being pastry lover. We were in the area and attracted to buy pastries from Carl Marletti because of the long queue. My favourite is the Belle-Helene tart. OMG! It might be the best pastry I have tried in my life. Such a complexity of flavours: the chocolate almond cream and poached pear create amazingly tasty contrast in fruity and sweet tastes. We tried the Feather that was also great and the caramel eclair. They didn't had everything because it was December 31st. But it worth going back to Paris to enjoy these amazing original pastries. I will get huge box of pastries next time! If you are visiting Paris definitely worth going here. Thank you for providing such a great pleasure!

amazingly beautiful pastries- these are french with a japanese influence, resulting in some unique flavours. i cannot get over how well they've nailed certain flavours of their macarons (like the genmaicha & yuzu)...plus i love their creamy filling as well. mousse cakes are also so delicious- loved the matcha & azuki.

We come here every visit for chocolates and desserts. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The desserts are always just amazing. We love everything matcha.

Best Chou à la crème I’ve ever tasted. Not exaggerating at all. We bought macaron and tarte de citron too. It was really really good. Sure the price is higher than others but it’s worth every penny. Staff was friendly too. Store was quite small but they have good selection of some famous kind of French dessert such Paris Brest, éclair, millefeuille etc. Would definitely coming back and try others

An Asian twist to the French dessert. You can find flavors like green tea, black sesame, wasabi, and more.
BichThuy T — Google review
The sales is wrong. Their Japanese style is as sweet as French cake, if not sweeter. And note that matcha is very bitter. So if it already tastes overwhelmingly sweet, then this cake must contain an enormous amount of sugar.

I tried a red bean matcha, a lemon praline, and a matcha almond croissant. All were super good. Wanna go back and try them all!

Paris-Brest is a signature dessert in Paris, consisting of wheel-shaped puff pastry filled with hazelnut praline cream. The name comes from the town of Brest in Brittany. In Paris, tipping at restaurants is common but not as high as in the USA. Visitors can also enjoy other delicious pastries and cakes at various bakeries throughout the city.
I’ve been stopping in regularly over the last week as the pastries and bread here are lovely. Plenty of cakes available also. Recommended if you are in this part of Paris

La Pâtisserie Cyril Lignac is a renowned establishment led by the well-known chef Cyril Lignac, who has made a name for himself through TV shows and cookbooks. This patisserie offers a wide range of delectable desserts created in collaboration with pastry chef Benoit Couvrand. The signature dessert, Equinoxe, is an innovative creation featuring Bourbon vanilla cream, salted caramel, and crispy speculoos.
Amazing tartes and breads, visually appealing store and super nice service. It's hard to choose among the beautiful tartes and desserts but the Entremets Cerise was artfully done and delicious the olive bread also very tasty.

Omg! The croissants, pains au chocolat and pains au raisin are heavenly! Also bought the lemon tarts/cake for my boyfriend’s birthday and it was so good!!! Best patisserie in the neighbourhood!

My daughter's friend found this place near the hotel Elysees Union where we stayed for our trip in Paris. The pastries here are extremely tasty and the crusts are excellent. We had mostly croissants, chocolate and custard filled pastries. We had them practically every morning. The prices are quite reasonable.

I tried the chausson aux pommes after reading other reviews. The pastry was flaky and appetizing but the filling was puree which I didn’t prefer as I don’t like the texture of apple sauce.

La Pâtisserie Cyril Lignac exceeded all expectations during our visit! 🍰 From the delectable Le Tigre to the flaky croissant, indulgent chocolatine, and irresistible madeleine, every pastry we sampled was simply divine. 😍 It's no wonder this establishment boasts such high ratings – the quality and taste are truly exceptional! 🌟 Whether you're a local or a visitor, a trip to La Pâtisserie Cyril Lignac is an absolute must for anyone with a sweet tooth.

This place has a very very good croissant, one of the best in Paris!!! I had seen many reviews for this Pâtisserie and was a little skeptical thinking if it's just a hype. But definitely not! It maybe a little expensive considered to other places but it is a must try! Staff was also very friendly and explained the flavours of the cakes on display. I bought a cake for 6, which was their signature, must try cake and yes it was delicious! Tea house
Odette is a charming tea room located in the Latin Quarter of Paris, just a few streets away from the River Seine. It is known for its elaborate cream puffs, pastries, and wine, as well as its outdoor tables with views of Notre Dame. Nestled in one of the oldest arrondissements of Paris, Odette is a favorite cafe among many visitors.
Odette absolutely lives up to its reputation — charming location, picture-perfect puffs, and delightful flavors. I tried the café and pistachio cream puffs. The coffee one was especially memorable — the filling had a texture more like a whipped coffee mousse than custard. It was fragrant and flavorful, but light and not overly rich. A perfect balance. The pistachio was smooth, slightly nutty, and subtly sweet. The puffs themselves were crisp on the outside, delicate, and fresh — everything I hoped for. Add to that the cute storefront and the view of Notre-Dame nearby, and it’s the perfect little Parisian dessert stop.
Xiyun L — Google review
This is my second time visiting Odette pastry shop in Paris, and I enjoyed it both times. I like that the pastries are creamy and fresh, the prices are fair, and the location is great. The only thing I didn’t like was the tablet on top of the pastry, which was a bit too sweet for me. Still, it’s definitely worth trying when in Paris, and it’s very close to Notre Dame.
Mihai D — Google review
After visiting Notre Dame, you’ve got to treat yourself to these cream puffs. They come in a variety of delicious flavours. The choux pastry is a bit on the hard side, but perhaps that’s the French way. And it still tastes good overall. The service was friendly and welcoming making it a delightful little stop after sightseeing.
Fran V — Google review
We ordered the Raspberry and Passionfruit Choux. The textures were nice, a lightly crisped exterior with soft interior. We preferred the raspberry over the passionfruit but wish the flavours in both were stronger.
Brandon L — Google review
Odette truly impressed with the way they crafted their pastry — the texture was spot-on, perfectly balanced between light crispness on the outside and a tender, delicate bite inside. I opted for the chocolate flavor, and it was absolutely divine. The filling was intensely rich, velvety, and generously packed, so every bite delivered pure indulgence without feeling overwhelming. You could really taste the quality of the ingredients and the care put into making it. It’s the kind of treat that lingers in your memory long after the last bite.

Wow nice ice cream and meringue we like all the flavors especially rose and caramel, and special thanks for the young lady with the beautiful dimples she was so nice and welcoming and was trying to explain every item to us we were a group of 5 we bought a lot of meringue as a gift for our family back home ❤️❤️❤️

Cute little glacé store near Le Marais area 4th arrondissement of Paris. The ice cream options is quite varied and you can combine it with ice cream and sorbet as well. Me tried their famous almonds and combine with carrots and ginger sorbet. It tastes great sourly, acid and tangy and spicy a bit, then I can indulge myself with the the sweetness of vanilla and almonds crunchy. The service not really friendly staffs they’re not smiling at all both the server and the cashier ones.

Best ice cream that I had in Paris, the pistachio with orange blossoms was super tasty and fresh, the chocolate was good too. There were different variations to choose from and the desserts looked yummy too.
Reyhaneh A — Google review
Best ice cream in the world!!! I have travelled to many countries and I can tell you that this is possibly one of the best ice creams in the world. I’ve never seen ice cream cakes that were made so beautiful and meticulous. The only downside is that they have no seat 🥲 so you have to eat it outside on the side walk which is very French. Other than that it’s worth a trip to get the best ice cream cake ever!
Kathy N — Google review
I’d say it’s one of the best ice creams in Paris. The texture is excellent, definitely worth trying the chocolate and vanilla.
Tony F — Google review
The flavors are interesting but that’s about it. It’s not the best ice cream you will ever have. Be careful here how they charge you. Make sure you pay attention to the prices especially if you are paying for several all together. They think if you are in a big group you won’t notice that they overcharge because of the noise and feeling rushed by the long line.

Boulangerie Utopie, a beloved neighborhood bakery, was established by two former Maison Laduree pastry chefs and has been at the forefront of the artisanal baking movement for the past decade. The bakery is renowned for its diverse offerings, including eye-catching activated-charcoal baguettes, black sesame rolls, and innovative croissants in chocolate and almond varieties. Their unique sourdough croissant made with tangy Montagu butter sets them apart from traditional pastries.
Utopie lived up to the hype for us. We really enjoyed the baguette, apple turnover, and almond croissant. The croissant was just good compared to the rest. The baguette was very crunchy and soft on the inside with a fragrant sourdough smell that not all places have. It definitely makes it more flavorful. The apple turnover was very crunchy as well with fresh apples inside. Almond croissant had a very nice texture with the paste. They really know how to make things crunchy here. Would definitely recommend if in Paris and the earlier you go in the morning the better. The prices are also very reasonable!

One of the best boulangerie I’ve ever been to. As a sesamephile and yuzu lover, this place brought together three loves: pastry, sesame, and citrus. The yuzu sesame flan was sublime. Flan was not too sweet, had good black sesame depth, and yuzu was perfectly present. I had croissant as a litmus test and comp to other bakeries: 10 outta 10. Staff is friendly and let me order in terrible French. Coffee is okay but you’re not here for that.
Kevin U — Google review
good but not amazingly good, the apple turnover was too heavy with not much of the fillings, croissant was good, but the outside can be more crispy, and sesame roll is a bit sweet for me, and lack of sesame flavor, the baguette was with a sour flavor. there was a line but moved fast.
Alex S — Google review
I went here because of social media. There was a bit of a line and a wait around 1 pm on a Sunday. I ordered the apricot pastry, which was good. Very flaky. Because of the line, I really didn't have time to browse and make a proper selection. The bakery was rather small and no place to sit, that is saw. There is no outdoor seating. I would return if in the area.

We visited Boulangerie Utopie a few times while in Paris in an attempt to try the black sesame roll. We went at 10:45 AM during our first visit on a Tuesday and they were sold out. We got to try a lot of items due to the multiple visits. We went around 7:30 AM on our other visits and the bakery cases were full and most of the pastries we got were still warm. Note that they don't serve sandwiches in the morning. Apple turnover - really flakey and full of apples. Be prepared for crumbs. Croissant - good all butter croissant Pain Au Chocolat - good pain au chocolat Sesame Roll - great for black sesame lovers Cinnamon Roll - wasn't bad but wouldn't need to get this again Pain Suisse - good Almond Pistachio Croissant - good Fig Tart - really pretty but the fig flavor was mild Pecan Dome - good Mini Black Sesame Madelines - skip, not a super strong black sesame flavor and a bit dry

I was on the hunt for the best croissant in Paris, and not only did I find it, I also found the best baguette. But the word is out — there was a line behind me twelve or thirteen deep. Had adorable Halloween croissants, too.
Sarah F — Google review
Best croissant in Paris IMO. Croissant with the right amount of flakiness, buttery yet not overly so, not doughy yet retaining that right amount of breadiness. Tried a few famous bakeries known for their croissants and Utopie was my favorite hands-down. A croissant only cost about 1.7 euros (or something around that). In comparison, another famous bakery not too far away was charging 3.8 euros per croissant (and that one was tasteless ironically).

Omg. We ran into this place by pure accident after lunch. We were stuffed from lunch, we even had dessert, but we had a third stomach to wolf down the treats from this place. What a gem with great chocolate chip brioche and meringue fluffy bite sized dessert. We are still dreaming of this and will go back tomorrow for breakfast to eat on the street. I will post more pictures tomorrow. We devoured the food before taking pictures.

Visited this place twice during my stay in Paris. I tried the meringue chocolate and it was the perfect dessert, totally enjoyable. Second time tried the chocolate bread which they call "Cranique" I think or something close and this is a great pastry with moist tasty chocolates. They have also with raisins. It's very big though and can be easily shared between two persons. They have multiple branches across Paris, so check which is within your itinerary and go for it.

A classic French bistro near the Eiffel Tower that focuses on Southwest French cuisine. We didn’t have a reservation, but the staff kindly found us a table right away. He was very friendly and took the time to explain the entire menu to us in detail. We ordered the duck confit and the duck breast, both were excellent. The duck breast was honestly the best I’ve ever had, perfectly cooked medium rare, juicy and tender with a delicious roasted honey sauce and purée. It was like the wagyu of duck, I devoured the entire plate. The confit was also cooked to perfection. A little on the pricey side, but absolutely worth it. The space is also very charming and nostalgic. I’d come back every time I’m in Paris.

The cutest spot for our first meal in Paris! We went right from the hotel to our reservation and the staff was extremely welcoming. Our waiter offered his suggestions and we were very happy with the final selections! A wonderful experience for anyone who wants a quaint restaurant with delicious bites.

La Fontaine de Mars is everything you hope for in a classic Parisian bistro: warm, welcoming, and absolutely delicious. We came without a reservation and were graciously accommodated, which already set the tone for a convivial evening. The red and white checkered tablecloths and rich dark wood décor create a cozy, timeless ambiance that feels like stepping into a beloved neighborhood institution. Our waiter was exceptional; friendly, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful about everyone's dietary needs. The starters were divine: the Blancs de poireau tièdes & ravigote d'herbes was fresh and flavorful, and the Terrine de canard, foie gras, pistache & chutney was a standout. For mains, the fricassée de poulet à la basquaise was the plat du jour and a hit at the table, while the suprême de poulet aux morilles and Pavé de saumon were beautifully prepared and comforting like a home-cooked meal elevated to perfection. Dessert was the cherry on top: we shared the île flottante, baba au rhum, and a truly unforgettable Mont Blanc fait maison; hands down one of the best I've ever had. This place hits all the right notes. Add La Fontaine de Mars to your Paris dining list…you won’t regret it. We’ll definitely be back!

My husband got the duck canard and I got the chicken with mushrooms and rice. Duck was wonderful! Chicken was good but nothing amazing. We started with the seared fois gras which was rich and decadent. For dessert we enjoyed the floating fountain which was light, sweet and different from what we usually would get. Atmosphere is quintessential Paris! Waiter was friendly and everything was explained well.

Atmosphere and decoration are nice. I don't think the food warrants the high price though. The steak was nice but the chips tasted and looked like 30 minute old McDonald chips, not so nice, duck breast was nice but no veg on the side. Staff and service was friendly. Food came out very quickly.

Honestly this patisserie has the smallest size of pastries I have seen in Paris. I actually don't mind that, as I believe that sugar should be consumed in moderation, but they are not cheaper because of the smaller size. I think it's about time that bakeries should list the price per kg. It's just insane that a tiny tart that you can finish in 2-3 bites can cost you more than 6 euros.

We happened upon this patisserie and everything about the pastry and the way we were received made it a perfect experience! Even when we wanted to move our table to the sun, the waiter complied with no hesitation. .

Review rating doesn't reflect the great flavors this place offers. Maybe it is not for tourists who prefer an ice cream from McDonald's. I highly recommend visiting this place. Desserts are amazing. And staff was friendly even if you don't speak French. We ordered St honore, Paris brest, and Palmiers. Coming back next time I am in Paris.

Cafe
LEclair de Genie Cafe is a must-visit for eclair enthusiasts. The cafe offers a vibrant array of colorful eclairs with bold flavor combinations like pistachio with orange, vanilla with blackcurrant, and passionfruit with raspberries. Renowned for reinventing the eclair and elevating it to fashion status, LEclair de Genie's jewel-colored eclairs are a feast for the eyes and taste buds.
I would love to say that it was amazing (because I expected this) but unfortunately I can’t say that. The place is overrated and overpriced. Yes, the staff was nice, she took our order, she proposed to bring us some water (it was awfully hot outside) but we never got our water. The croissants are beautiful but not delicious, they weren’t crunchy so we think they aren’t fresh, baked not today for sure. Drinks were good, nice looking but again the price is 🤯 I expected more…

L’Éclair de Génie Café is an absolute gem! From the moment we stepped in, the elegant yet cozy atmosphere made us feel like we’d been whisked away to a Parisian patisserie. The éclairs are as beautiful as they are delicious—each one a masterpiece of flavor and texture. The coffee was rich and perfectly paired with our treats, and the staff was wonderfully attentive, adding to the delightful experience.
Faleh A — Google review
Overrated. The eclair are ok but nothing better than an eclair from any bakery in France. Original yes, with lots of different flavours to pick from yes, but we’ve tried the small eclair 4 packs and it was dry with barely any cream inside. Disappointing. Service 0 as well, the lady was kind of rude, no staff was paying attention to us, it wasn’t busy and all of them were discussing until we arrived to order, they all stared at us while one was serving us. Just uncomfortable. I asked a couple of questions which were not answered nicely. Condescending even. I wouldn’t recommend. Just go to any boulangerie in Paris, small, not something you find on social media, and you’d be greatly served at half price the pastry. Prices are waaaay too high.

It’s one of the best croissants I’ve eaten in Paris. I especially recommend the raspberry croissant, there is a delicious filling inside which I loved very much! But also keep in mind that in mornings, there are lots of like so be prepared to take away the baked goods!

This place has an amazing atmosphere with great service. Best latte and Croissant we can have around. If you come please try their Eclair it is literally hands down, well balanced and different options.

It was a fun experience, there wasn't a big variety of eclairs but still we got 4 for 28€ and it was worth it! The waiters were so nice as well :) Merci

I went to try the viral croissant I saw on TikTok — I thought there would be a pistachio-stuffed croissant, but that wasn’t the case. I ended up getting the almond croissant, which was good, and the cappuccino was nice too. My friend tried the vanilla croissant — honestly, it was cold and pretty average. Overall, I think it doesn’t really deserve all the hype. It’s okay, but not as amazing as social media makes it seem.
Manel R — Google review
I tried the éclair at L’Éclair de Génie and it was absolutely amazing — the best I’ve ever had! The croissant was also incredible, everything was just perfect. The coffee was really good too. Highly recommend!

We came here as it was one of the few places we found open on Christmas, and we were pleasantly surprised. We got two pastries as well as hot chocolate and they were all delicious! The hot chocolate was especially one of the best I had in paris. The service was good and the staff was very friendly - we had an easy time there inspite of a small language barrier. Overall, an amazing experience

We have just tasted two different types of eclairs which were eclairs with chocolate and eclair with coffee. Both of them were the most qualified eclairs I’ve ever tasted which were mild in taste and definitely you feel like eating more and more. I can honestly say that I fell in love with this taste!

I got a TooGoodToGo from here and the woman serving made me feel very unwelcome. I don’t know what part of me she deemed unacceptable as she was more polite to the person in front of me. But to me she was very rude. In terms of the pastries, I would say they were okay but a bit dry and not worth paying full price for.
Amelia D — Google review
Beautiful place, the atmosphere is ravishing and refined. Loved it. The pastries I tried did unfortunately not move me. The opera and the roulé noisettes were good, but somehow too creamy. Taste was masked by the amout of cream.

To be fair, their desserts and hot chocolate are amazing. Unfortunately, the service doesn’t live up to the expectations. The desserts were served on a saucer instead of cake plate.

Beautiful shop, breathtaking presentation of the food, exciting experiments both on the sweet and savoury spectrum. We came here on a Monday morning to enjoy a good quality breakfast. The reason why I am giving only two stars is because everything that happened after we passed our order was a disappointment. We sat down outside, as it was a gorgeous autumn morning. We received our teas in two paper cups destined for espressos and not for teas! Our food arrived in plastic containers and we were given plastic cutlery. What a shock! You think you are in one of Paris' fanciest teahouses, and you are obliged to use disposable materials... We asked for normal cutlery and a proper tea-pot and were refused because we were sitting outside. I wonder if they are afraid that you'll run away with their things or what... It took several attempts on our side to have at least a proper amount of water with the tea. I would have expected a place like this to take more pride in how they serve their teas and their amazing food. Paper espresso mugs that contain just enough water to make the tea leaves wet (because apparently the personnel is not trained on how much tea should go in one of those white bags) is not at all acceptable in my opinion. What a pity, so incoherent with the impression the entire shop conveys... I won't even mention the fact that I wasn't given a small plate/container to put my teabag on, so I had to put it on the table where it was leaking all over the place... Attention to details even outside would be welcome!

Nestled in the heart of Le Marais, Paris, Le Loir dans La Théière is a charming tea house and patisserie that exudes a bohemian atmosphere. The eclectic decor features mismatched tables and chairs, vintage theater posters adorning the walls, and a long marble counter displaying an array of over twenty homemade cakes and pies. From lemon meringue pie to chocolate pear tart, the selection is both generous and mouthwatering.
Found this place when the place we were headed was closed for renovations. What a fortunate find! Matthew, our waiter, was VERY helpful in explaining the menus to us and the wide variety of delicious desserts. There was one item we ordered that didn’t agree with our American taste buds and he happily exchanged is for a delicious club sandwich that we loved. Friendly place, great service, delicious food! Highly recommend.

Delicious lemon meringue pie! I love the adequate sweetness and the pillowy softness from the meringue, lemon custard is sour, I like the sourness, perfect with the meringue. Aubergine and tomato savory tarte is homey, service is great even though my French is still terrible at this moment, the staffs are friendly

We had a nice bottle of wine and delicious quiche here! It was very cozy to sit inside and the server was friendly and helpful. He even gave us a free slice of lemon meringue, which was delicious. Very nice experience!

I’m now made of 80% lemon meringue 🤪 I happily waited 45 mins for the lemon meringue to be ready and it was worth the weight. It not only looked impressive, but tasted incredible. The citron was tart and the meringue super fluffy, sticky and sweet. The staff were really friendly too.

We came for the famus citron tart. We arrived at 1330 and were told that they only served lunch. Cake was not served until 15. We then ate lunch, and got cake after dinner. Food and cake was fine, but its the service was a bit strange. At 14 the French came in and were able to order coffee and cake without having to eat lunch.

Went with my partner today for lunch and dessert .. Firstly friendly and efficient service in very cozy decor. We ordered quiche that came with a small salad which was excellent . The big shock came with the desserts , overly sweet meringue and very acidic lemon pie. I couldn't finish it and my partner's raspberry apple linzer tart was meh but we also asked for 2 apple turnovers as takeaway . The bill was over the top : 70 euros. We won't be going back ..

L’Éclair de Génie, founded and led by chef Christophe Adam, is a must-visit in Paris for an extra-delicious casual lunch. The establishment offers a variety of eclairs in playful flavors and colors, drawing inspiration from around the world and reinterpreting tastes with French products. Additionally, it features gluten-free cookies that can be enjoyed on-site or taken to go.
The store is like a dessert boutique with all the éclairs beautifully presented. Both the éclair de pistache (pistachio) and the éclair de vanille (vanilla) were delicious. The choux pastry was light and airy filled with a beautifully flavoured and balanced cream. The pistachio and vanilla fillings were authentic. The glaze and nutty garnishes enhanced the flavour and provided a needed crunchy texture elevating the desserts. There isn't indoor seating so I'd recommend either carefully taking the éclairs home or having it in a nearby garden: Jardin des Rosiers Joseph Migneret.

Nice shop very clean, great selection but most of them would be gone early in the day. Still you can try any of their eclairs they are all delicious! They are helpful if you have any questions about the sweats and would answer further questions about the shop, their products if the shop isn’t crowded. We had a lovely conversation.

A place with lovely eclairs and chocolates. Each eclair is so beautiful, although the prices are more expensive than other patisseries. The staff are very friendly and helped with ensuring the products I bought suited my allergies. It's a lovely indoor space, but I wish we could have eaten at the shop rather than only have take out options.

Both éclairs were just amazing. Especially the passion fruit éclair was the best dessert I ate in Paris. Macaroons were also very nice. Also, the manager was very kind, welcoming visitors with a nice smile. There's no reason not to visit this place!

Beautiful eclair shop, wide variety of flavours of eclairs. It was a little bit steep per eclair (£5 each) but we’re in Paris. We tried the passionfruit, the yuzu and the dark chocolate, all of which were just divine... I didn’t expect the pastry to be tougher than the fluffy eclairs we’re traditionally used to, but all in all it was delicious. Paired with hot genmaicha to wash it all down, it was the perfect shelter from a rainy afternoon!
Vanessa L — Google review
Something you try once and taste 2 flavors or more. I had the pineapple with passion fruit which was fruity and fresh . The salted caramel one was good as well more on the sweet note . The filling is quite liquid not very creamy and heavy . Each piece is 6.50 euros otherwise u can have 4 mini pieces for 12 euros or box for 35 euros . Size is not fulfilling. They had limited selection though.
Melted B — Google review
Nice looking shop, great selection of eclairs. They sell chocolates too which make great souvenirs. Bought the tasting set to try the different flavours, good quality. A little on the pricier end. Honestly speaking, not mind blowing. I’ve had better ones in Singapore (oops, sorry Paris)

One of the best egg tarts I have ever had! Make sure you try it when it's still hot - it is a whole lot better. They will give you a small bag of cinnamon if you want to sprinkle over, but I didn't like that.

I haven't been to Portugal but the pastel de nata at Comme A Lisbonne are the best I have had in my life. We first had them during our Paris trip in 2018 and had to return again in 2025. They were just as good as before and we enjoyed them topped with cinnamon and a cappuccino. The shopkeeper was a very nice gentleman who spoke English and we enjoy chatting with him about our first visit to the shop. Don't pass by this shop without picking up a pastel de nata.

The owner’s explanation and love of Portugal made this lunch a joy. I followed two well dressed middle aged women into the spot because they seemed to know where they were going for lunch and I had no clue. We were greeted by the owner who explained the soup and sandwich (called toasts) of the day, in English. He told lovely stories of where he lived in Portugal and the types of food eaten in the Azores where he grew up. All in all, a lovely lunch with an awesome experience. Extremely affordable, fresh and healthy, and enjoyable. No one this spot was under 40 today. It was a mix of locals and travelers. I had pea and parsnip soup (delicious) and a ham and cheese toast. The salad included mesclun, cherry tomatoes, and thin strips of beet. Quite good and healthy.

The galette des roi really amaze me The puff pastry is delicate like snowflakes but it won’t make a mess. The taste is very light, the puff pastry is a bit To my surprise, all the puff layers are well baked, bc I had so many galette which the inner part are undercooked. Overall, the price is very high(7€ for a slice) for the flavor

I recently had the pleasure of sampling some cakes at Des gâteaux et du pain and I must say, they were some of the best I've ever tasted. The cakes were delicate, yet complex in flavour, and truly memorable. Each bite was a decadent experience that left me wanting more. The textures were perfectly balanced, with the cakes being both soft and moist. The flavours were complex, with each ingredient complementing the other.

One of the Best pain du Chocolate in town! Price is definitely not cheap comparing to the average bakery in town but it worth it (at least the pain du Chocolate) And this is the first thing they sold out everyday - after 10am, it is really based on luck. I got the freshly baked butter croissant couple of times, and it is even better!!! Have to admit I am not a big fan of their cookies - expensive and taste average (€20+ for less than 200g)
Chris Z — Google review
Heavenly pastries. Yes it may be expensive but worth every penny for those who appreciate the art and the taste! Many of their pastries are “one of a kind” good. The one topped with mango , the pamplemousse, the Kashmir … been every day of every single visit to Paris and just can’t get enough. Cons: they can be/act a tiny bit snobby, I wish they weren’t of course, and maybe they realize one day that humility makes their art more precious. That said, it’s not as difficult to tolerate a bit of a snob if it’s coming from the best in the art!

First off, why can't you take photos of your store? What an odd start to shopping at your store. Secondly, I found your staff standoffish. Thirdly, the desserts were all so bland. How is that even possible. Very disappointing. I just came from Rennes and had The Best Tarts from Pâtisserie Le Daniel & Maison Bouvier! Actually, I also had a delicious tart from a small place here in Paris called Les Gourmandes à Paris. Do check out these places.

CHAPON CHOCOLATE MOUSSE BAR, PARIS 🍫🇫🇷👌🏼 Paris is full of sweet temptations, but few are as iconic as the famous chocolate mousse from Chocolaterie Chapon in St. Germain. Saying it was heavenly is an understatement. The creamy, rich, delicious chocolate mousse is extraordinary! 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼 Known for its velvety texture and rich, intense flavor, it’s the kind of dessert that has earned a cult following among locals and travelers alike. Each spoonful feels like a celebration of French craftsmanship in chocolate, smooth yet powerful, and absolutely indulgent. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Best decision of the day! The mousse was everything I hoped for—light yet decadent, perfectly balanced, and truly unforgettable. Sometimes the best Paris moments come when you least expect them, and this was definitely one of them! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

We really liked the fact that have different intensities of mousse au chocolat! The mousse was delicious (we tried the most intense one with 75% dark chocolate). And the staff was amazing really friendly, explaining all the differences between the options and let us try 2 options to decide which one we liked more! The small portion is 7€.

My sister saw this spot on Instagram and so we came here for an afternoon sweet treat. They gave us samples of chocolate while waiting in line and we had the choice or milk or dark chocolate. There were two different mousse options (milk or dark) and there’s a separate line inside or purchasing chocolates vs purchasing just mousse. The line is long but orderly thanks to the employees. Credit cards are accepted. Even though I’m usually a dark chocolate girly, I’d recommend the milk chocolate mousse. I’d also recommend splitting one between two people.

Chez Janou is a charming Provencal-style restaurant located just north of Place des Vosges in the Marais district of Paris. The restaurant offers a convivial setting with an inviting terrace adorned with budlights and blankets, creating a cozy atmosphere during the cooler months.
Great French bistro. Highly recommend, will definitely revisit. Quality French food, great atmosphere and worth the price, not over the top. Worth the ratings. Went with my wife for lunch, we had the- Daughnine ravioli for starters. Duck breast and entrecote bistro steak The creme brulee and French toast for dessert. Highly recommend this place, top quality, top bistro and always worth a visit when in Paris. 5🌟 Recommend booking in advance to prevent needing to wait and walk in. We booked months in advance.

One of my favorite places in Paris for sure!! I’ll gladly come back! This is such a comfort food type of meal! We had the ravioles au dauphiné as an appetizer, we ordered the canard as main course and of course, the chocolate mousse as dessert, and OHHH MYYYY!!! This is chocolate heaven! Not too sweet, the texture is just unbelievable.. just the perfect dessert! And they serve you at your table, she even asked if we wanted more! I wish we could eat more, but we were just so satisfied. Really amazing food!
Tati C — Google review
It is very rare that a restaurant becomes a memory, but Chez Janou did exactly that. This is the kind of bistro that makes you understand why the French guard their food culture so fiercely. I ordered the escargots, the ratatouille, a bottle of wine, and of course the legendary chocolate mousse that everyone talks about. The escargots were exactly how they should be: rich garlic butter, tender snails, nothing rubbery, nothing overdone. The ratatouille tasted like something a French grandmother would make at home, slow-cooked, layered flavour, fresh vegetables that haven’t been cooked to death. But the real star is the chocolate mousse. They do not serve you a “portion”. They bring an entire bowl, the size of a cooking pot, and simply scoop it onto your plate without ceremony. No pretension, no fancy plating, just unapologetically indulgent chocolate. Smooth, deep, not too sweet, and probably the best I have ever had. The bistro is loud, warm, slightly chaotic in the best way, with tables squeezed together and waiters flying around but still managing to joke and smile. It feels like eating inside a postcard of Paris in the 60s. An absolute must.
Neel B — Google review
Despite having a reservation which we booked 3 weeks in advance, we had to wait over 45 minutes to be seated. It is understandable if there is a delay but for there to be such a long delay even with a reservation and no apology nor a complimentary item seems like bad customer service to me. Besides the poor service, the food was actually quite delicious. The duck was a perfect medium rare, not too chewy, but lacked a bit of flavour on its own & the skin was on the edge of being burnt rather than charred. But the red wine jus was heavenly and complimented the duck well. The potatoes were also perfectly cooked and soaked up all the duck juices. The mussel entree was nice and garlicky, simple but good. For dessert, the famous mousse au chocolat was worthy of its’ praise. It was very light but also decadent, definitely should be shared between 2-3 people. The mousse was on the darker chocolate side which I enjoyed but I would argue that it would have been even better with a bit of flaky sea salt to really bring out the sweetness/add a bit of contrast. Also, I found it slightly grainy with either the granulated sugar not fully dissolving or bits of cocoa powder/chocolate not fully mixed in, which disturbed its smooth texture. Not a life changing chocolate mousse but definitely an enjoyable experience. Additionally, the restaurant was well-decorated, a bit small but had a lively atmosphere.

Best steak frites I had on my trip. Crispy flavorful outside, a delicious reduced wine sauce and buttery taters. Best olives on my trip, tasted fresh and not canned. Incredible chocolate mousse, dark chocolate flavor but creamy enough for only milk chocolate lovers, big portion. We sat at the bar because we didnt have a reservation. No wait for that. The fit is tight, alots of people and loud. They have a bathroom. Staff was friendly.
Porter C — Google review
It seems to be more of a tourist spot than a local bistrot, but that doesn’t mean the food is bad. I enjoyed the snails, found the ratatouille to be just okay, and really liked the fish. However, this place is especially known for its mousse au chocolat—and for good reason. It was definitely the star of the meal and makes Chez Janou worth a second visit. The restaurant is quite crowded and noisy, so expect the service to be a bit slow.

Great French dining experience downs quiet street in Paris. We didn’t have reservations and waited an hour, but was well worth it. It truly made me feel like I was eating like a local and was a highlight of the trip to Paris! Friendly wait staff, food was excellent and reasonably priced. Went with my wife and two tween daughters and they loved the experience and food! Would highly recommend!

The food was amazing, I definitely recomend the mussels for starters and the mousse au chocolat worth the hype (is delicious). We also tried the creme brulle, that was also amazing! We didn't find a spot to book online in advance, so we went as walk-in, we waited for a few minutes in the line, but it works for us, because the food were amazing! I would say that you couldn't miss this restaurant while in Paris.

Bakery
La Pâtisserie du Meurice par Cédric Grolet is a renowned pastry shop in Paris, known for its exquisite and visually stunning desserts created by the world's best pastry chef, Cedric Grolet. The shop offers an array of trompe l'oeil pastries and cakes, including super-sized cookies that are a sight to behold. One of the highlights is the sculpted fruit pastries that resemble real fruits and are filled with layers of corresponding fruit flavors.
These were the best fruit-symbol cakes I've ever eaten. I'm a pastry chef myself, but I prefer good chefs. I hope to be the same. Definitely make your way to these desserts. You'll experience an extraordinary explosion of flavor. The pistachios and vanilla were especially perfect 😍🤩
RAELF — Google review
Not worth the hype and the queue. We waited days in mind to try these delicious looking desserts and waited for 40 minutes in actual queue only to be disappointed. It is a piece of art in terms of presentation but tasted really bad. The mango was too sour and no sweet taste to complement it. The pistachio was the worst of all. It was just not sweet at all and tasted super bland and salty. We end up wasting it away. 18 euros for it? More like 2 euros only. The raspberry vanilla dessert ended up being decent and we liked it, though it can be improved further. Overall, chef really needs to take these feedback and make it worth the hype and money. Totally not worth my 98 euros.
Predaarshan V — Google review
I took Fig, Pistacchio and Blueberry. Also before I was in the cafe and took Vanilla. Each 18€ Incredibly tasty and well made. But don’t expect them to be sweet. They are not. The are fresh fruits with very little sugar if it’s even there. It’s really unique not to feel jam but actually like a fresh fruit pure. Very light deserts, pistacchio was the only that was slightly heavy. My favorite was blueberry and vanilla ( that I took from the caffe in the morning

Tried four of the famous trompe-l’œil pastries: Pot de Pop Corn, Mangue, Pomme Verte, and Pot de Chouchou. The Pot de Pop Corn was my clear favorite, its depth of flavor was unmatched, perfectly balanced with a subtle salty sweetness. The Mangue, though beautifully presented and hyped online, wasn’t my top pick but was still very good. The Pomme Verte was excellent, tasting remarkably like a real apple with an impressive texture, and the Pot de Chouchou offered a more straightforward flavor profile but was enjoyable nonetheless. We waited about an hour in line on a Saturday afternoon, but the staff were exceptionally friendly, professional, and organized, making the experience pleasant. At €86 for four pastries, it’s definitely a splurge, but everything was crafted to perfection, and you truly get what you pay for. A must-try for pastry enthusiasts seeking an elevated, one-of-a-kind experience.
Miled N — Google review
I have visited on Wednesday and around 12:05 I have joined the queue. The queue moved relatively quick and within 30 minutes I got in. Mind, this location is open only Wednesday to Sunday and only 12-6 or 7 PM. All items were available and I have purchased 3 creations: pistachio, apple and mango. Do bear in mind that these creations have to be consumed within 1 hour. In summer definitely quicker and you have to carry it carefully as they are fragile. There isn’t any seating area but there is a park nearby. They do offer napkins, spoons for your take away. Is take away only with click and collect available but you must reserve few days ahead. Separate queue for click and collect. The pistachio wasn’t my favourite. The amount of sea salt was overpowering and didn’t let actual pistachio speak for itself. Mango was delicate but absolutely refreshing and worth every penny. The apple has little dill inside but I actually liked it so it gave softness to actual green apple sourness. Don’t expect red apple flavour when is actually Granny Smith type. Each priced at €18. Do mind these aren’t cakes. They do sell cakes like fruits and cost around €35.
Silvia G — Google review
I really wanted to try these desserts, as they were so hyped up online. We waited in line about 10 minutes, actually not bad and time went by fast. I appreciate the fact that you’re the only customer in the store, so the line is worth it. The presentation and experience is amazing. We bought the blueberry (18€) pistachio (18€) and popcorn (25€) The pistachio I would say is interesting - NOT SWEET, which I was not expecting. The texture is interesting, a little bir salty, you can really feel the pistachio taste. The blueberry is good, not amazing, not sweet again. You can feel bits of actual blueberry inside. The popcorn was by far the best and most interesting of all. This dessert was sweet, with caramel and actual popcorn inside. We shared 3 desserts to 2 people which was way to much, I would just choose 2, as they were quite big. It’s an interesting experience, over-hyped, good but would not try again.
Roxana P — Google review
The pastries are truly exceptional and incredibly delicious. The trompe l’œil, which are desserts designed to resemble fruit, offered a perfect harmony of fruity flavours without being overly sweet. The only downside might be the relatively high price, but it is certainly worth experiencing at least once.
Ruisko B — Google review
What can I say? Absolutely Perfect! They’re not cheap, of course, but the price is rightful if you consider the technique, the quality of the products and all the amount of care there’s behind every single sweet. I tried a lot of pâtisserie but nothing like Cedric. They’re not too sweet, not to heavy on the stomach, his cakes definitely gives you a great amount of satisfaction! Last but not least, all the staff that works for him are incredibly professional, cordial and gentle. I’ll keep being his client every time I come to Paris!

Le Petit Cler is a charming café located on the beloved Rue Cler in Paris. The café's terrace offers a perfect spot to observe daily Parisian life while enjoying a traditional cafe latte. The bustling pedestrian street is known for its vibrant market, attracting locals who come to shop for fresh produce and other goods. The café serves high-quality yet affordable classic French dishes, including steaks, omelets, and grilled sandwiches. Additionally, it offers daily specials such as roast chicken and fresh fish.
I was walking down the street reading reviews of different places to have dinner after 9 p.m., and I came across some great feedback about Le Petite Cler. The waiter recommended trying the snails and duck. If you’re looking for authentic, homemade French flavors — this is the place to go! A delicate crème brûlée was a lovely way to end the evening in Paris.
Nata S — Google review
Awesome location close to the Eiffel Tower, and the staff were great, but otherwise we weren’t impressed. While the side of ratatouille was fantastic, the French onion soup was far from the best we’ve had, and the salmon was OK (the chimichurri sauce helped a ton).

Happy hour is top notch. Highly recommend the duck and house board as starter. Everyone who ordered the beef bourguignon ate the entire plate.

I had an amazing breakfast experience at Le Petit Cler! The food was absolutely delicious — especially the croissants, which were fresh, flaky, and full of flavor. The service was excellent, and we were served by Thas, who was incredibly kind, attentive, and professional. His warm attitude made our visit even more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back soon! Highly recommended! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

a perfect restaurant for people watching and taking yourself for a solo date — which is exactly what i did. it’s not a large restaurant so the seating area outside felt intimate and cozy. i sat at a corner in the second row and i could easily people watch but not feel so close to the street itself. they have a pretty extensive menu so it can feel a bit overwhelming figuring out what to order but i saw online that their beef bourguignon was popular and heard the waiters saying the same thing so i tried that. there was so much beef. i’m happy to say they don’t skimp on the beef and the flavor was great and it paired well with the pasta.
Lori L — Google review
Meat (beef) had a bad smell, weird texture and didn’t taste good at all. Apparently not fresh. Otherwise, pasta and even crème brûlée dessert were not too bad.

After visiting the Musée de l’Armée with my son, we were absolutely starving, we had skipped breakfast and were hoping to find something nearby. We first tried another café, but they had just stopped serving breakfast (literally two minutes after 11:00) and didn’t seem too eager to help. Then we walked into Le Petit Cler, and the difference was night and day. We were greeted right away by a warm, friendly man who seated us with a smile. The whole vibe was calm, welcoming, and just what we needed. We ordered from their full breakfast menu: my son had scrambled eggs with cheese and ham, fresh juice, and a chocolate croissant. I chose a mushroom omelette with cheese and a latte. The food was tasty, the portions generous, and the experience left us both happy and full. A truly pleasant place where hospitality still means something. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great breakfast in Paris.

We had a lovely meal at Le Petit Cler! The beef bourguignon was rich, tender, and full of flavour, and the French onion soup was absolutely perfect – warm, comforting, and very tasty. We also tried the sirloin beef (ordered medium), but unfortunately it was a bit tough to chew. Still, the flavours were good, and the service was friendly and efficient. Overall, a charming Parisian spot with great atmosphere and delicious classic dishes – would definitely come back for the bourguignon and onion soup!

Wow, I think I found my favourite patisserie and boulangerie in Paris in one spot! Tried a mixture of the cakes and the breads - and everything was fantastic! My favourites are the apple turnover, the mont blanc, the Celeste and the Baba Rhum. I definitely want to go back to try more of everything. Also, love the beautiful and sturdy packaging - I carried it back to London and all the pastries stayed intact.

came here desperately hunting for a croissant, but i was too late. all the viennoiserie was already gone for the day. a shame, yes, but also a promising sign that it must be really good. definitely planning to come back next time i’m in paris, but earlier. i did get to try a couple of bites of other items and everything was pretty tasty. so expectations are officially high for round two.

They have one of the best croissants in Paris! The croissant is crunchy yet very buttery. I didn’t have a chance to try the famous Chausson aux Pomme, but their Chausson aux Citron is amazing.

It is because of shops such as this that I cannot wait to return to Paris. In fact, Des Gateaux et du Pain is at the very top of my list of favorites. The quiche (which they will warm for you) is pure, buttery bliss. The chausson rhubarb, the pain au chocolate, the citron tart, the flan—all perfection. If only I could’ve tried more of their beautiful, rustic pain and jewel-like patisserie. Next time. Definitely next time.

Best to go when there are few customers in the shop as it's worth it to calmly look at the marvelous selection. We've visited many bakeries this trip but Des Gateaux et du Pain stands out as especially superb. The angel food cake, for example, is a real treat. The flan is very special. On a Sunday morning, it's a mob scene. Best to drop in when you're not rushed and the whole town isn't there.

Great variety of macron and a selection of chocolates to choose from , great service to foreigners, welcoming and friendly but most important of all . The ice cream was soooooo amazing While many people come here for the chocolates and macarons, I truly think their ice cream deserves much more attention and recognition you will know why it costs €8 for a small cup after the first bite , intensely flavorful, rich, and unforgettable.

I recently visited Pierre Hermé Paris and was truly impressed. The boutique itself is elegant, and the display of macarons is almost too beautiful to eat. The experience was made even better by the wonderful service. A staff member named Vladimir assisted me, and he was fantastic — welcoming, patient, and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the different flavours, helped me put together a varied selection. Yes, the macarons are on the pricier side, but the quality, presentation, and service make it worth it. If you’re looking for a luxurious treat or a memorable gift, I highly recommend Pierre Hermé Paris — and if you’re lucky, you’ll be helped by Vladimir!

Great macaroon. Unlike another brand which is more traditional, this has thicker cream and more unique play in colouring and flavour.

Huimin L — Google review
The gentleman who helped me was kind and helpful. I got the box of 8 for €26 and the packaging was sturdy - the box had a slot for each macaron to sit in without getting crushed. The macarons had a nice crisp shell and chewy center with generous fillings. There were so many exciting flavours to choose from and the only disappointment was that I didn’t grab more than 8! The Ispahan definitely lived up to the hype and a few stand out flavours I absolutely loved were the Aurora (rose & bergamot), olive oil & fig, and the cinnamon. Will most definitely be making another stop when I visit again in the future!

Could not pick a better place to during my first time visit of Paris! Everything and everyone was great. The hotel was clean, Cosy, comfortable and all the staff were outstanding. We have loved that we could have breakfast every day at our hotel room without any additional charge. The location was also fantastic and very practical (you're close to the shops and Louvre). We are very thankful for the time we got to spend at Fauchon hotel ❤️

⚠️ Be cautious if you’re a tourist. This restaurant knowingly took advantage of us as foreigners and overcharged our meal. We ordered a light brunch with an oyster and a small lunch plate, but the server changed our order without consent and increased the price. When it was time to pay, the server avoided us and sent a coworker—who had not served us—to bring the check instead. To make matters worse, the food was mediocre and definitely not worth the inflated cost.

Dinner at Le Grand Café Fauchon was a highlight of Paris. We started with the Foie gras de canard du Sud-Ouest « maison », served with toasted brioche and figs — smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. The main was the Filet de Bœuf de race normande, tender and juicy, paired with morel cream, spelt, and a pepper sauce that added real depth. For dessert, the iconic Bisou Bisou stole the show — a glossy red lips creation with red fruits, almond crunch, and vanilla cream. Playful, elegant, and unforgettable. Great wine pairings, attentive service, and a stylish atmosphere made the whole experience memorable.

First time with my son and my friend, a light snack after visiting the musee orangerie. Fauchon was so cool, loved to have the Clueless movie reference in real life. Brought home some limited edition macarons too, the barbe a papa. We called for a table ahead of time so the cafe knew we had a toddler. The server was great he gave my son a fauchon coloring book that was super cute, my son kept coloring it weeks after he got it. Merci beaucoup 🩵

A well-run restaurant. I visited this restaurant with my partner and couldn’t imagine a better place for a fun date. Outstanding food with great flavor combinations that spark conversation and make you wanting more. My partner had a tartar which was great, and I had scallops which were memorable. The sweetbread is absolutely phenomenal. I honestly did not expect this level of complexity in a dish like this. We absolutely loved it. Service was great and polite. The only downside is that you sit quite close to people and when they turn out to be American all you hear is their scream and obnoxious laugh - but appear from that - this place is great. We got the classic gaufre! Was not too sweet and very satisfying. I imagined gaufre is something hard but it was rather soft outside.
S K — Google review
A Parisian delight! Meert’s vanilla gaufres are simply exquisite — soft, rich, and bursting with flavor. Absolutely worth indulging in.
Koray G — Google review
Much smaller than its Lille counterpart, nevertheless serving the same great Madagascar vanilla gaufre (waffles). This time I also tried the seasonal apple and cinnamon variety and now I’m obsessed! If you are nearby — don’t hesitate to get one (or 3). The staff were also super friendly and spoke great English.

I love chocolates from Meert.. I can’t resist it

Traditional pastry shop in the middle of the historical center - do not miss the waffel for which you can choose from different flavors like vanilla, raspberry, speculous, etc. It would be much better if we could sit down and enjoy the products right in the shop.

Maison Georges Larnicol is a delightful chocolate and pastry shop located near Sacre Coeur. The shop offers a wide variety of candies, cakes, chocolates, and pastries in various forms. Visitors are impressed by the intricate chocolate sculptures on display, including iconic French buildings like Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower. The store is spacious and well-stocked with an array of treats to choose from. Customers praise the delicious macarons and a diverse selection of chocolates available for purchase.
Loved this shoppe! We were not planning on visiting but I love art made from food and when I saw the Notre Dame made of Chocolate I had to visit. Amazing sculptures of chocolate and the Macaroons were amazing and all tasted great.

A wonderful patisserie with a wide variety of sweets and chocolates. Their kouignettes and chocolates are incredibly delicious and fresh. A perfect spot for any dessert lover!
Agapi V — Google review
It was an amazing experience: the staff’s was nice and does its job very nicely. We accidentally dropped a box of macaroons on the ground and they didn’t charge us for it. We tried some chocolate and they were fantastic. I recommend you try the dark chocolate. They even have chocolate sculptures!

Maison Georges Larnicol is a must-visit for anyone who loves chocolate and pastries. The shop is filled with incredible chocolate sculptures, from Notre-Dame replicas to medieval ships, making it a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds. The selection of chocolates and macarons is huge, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable compared to other Parisian chocolatiers. The kouign-amann, a buttery Breton pastry, is a standout—crispy, caramelized, and absolutely delicious. While the staff can sometimes be a bit rushed, the quality of the treats makes up for it. Whether you’re looking for a sweet souvenir or just want to indulge, this place is worth a stop!

Randomly saw this place as we walked down from the church. You can order the chocolate you want by the pound (100g for 7 euros, something along that line), and pick the macaron but must order it in a set. The chocolate was super yummy - especially the one with cocoa nibs and the crunchy chocolate one. The macarons were good too, but not the best I’ve had. I also got the pesto pastry for 1,40 euros and it was stale. Skip that and just get the chocolate here.
Sherluna V — Google review
We were happy to find this chocolatier, it's equal to the one at the Blv. Saint Germain so we knew what level of excellent mastership to expect. Great Macarons and plenty of flavors but what we really enjoyed the Kouignette framboise - raspberry sweet rolls with butter, from now on one of my favorites. The only thing is once you enter their door, it’s hard to decide what to choose, so many products, and they all look so delicious and fresh. We loved the huge chocolat artworks! Finally, we bought a nice selection of chocolats, delicious cookies and some other things just for fun. Great service as well, she was very patient dispite the many tourists who visited without buying anything for a very fair price.

I recently visited this macaron shop ( Sunday 31/08/2025 - 12 pm) and, unfortunately, had a disappointing experience. When I tried to place my order in English, the man serving me did not understand and, instead of trying to communicate or find a solution, he abruptly refused to serve me. He then walked over to his colleague, speaking loudly in French, saying that since I was in France I should speak French. It felt unwelcoming and unnecessarily hostile. Thankfully, his colleague stepped in and was very sweet, patient, and helpful. She handled the situation with kindness and completed my order without any issue. I truly appreciated her professionalism, but the initial interaction left a negative impression of the shop as a whole. While the macarons themselves were enjoyable, I hope the management addresses this kind of behavior, as visitors and locals alike deserve to be treated with respect.

Even if you don't plan to buy any chocolate at all, visiting Maison Georges Larnicol is a must as they have those amazing sculptures made of chocolat! Notre-Dame, medieval ships, and many more! The selection of chocolates is really huge, however, and it's very hard to resist buying several!

Scoop Me a Cookie, born in 2010, is the brainchild of Laura Petit who spent two years perfecting her recipe and sourcing the finest ingredients. With five locations in Paris, this cookie haven offers indulgent treats such as hazelnut spread, caramelized almonds, and Japanese matcha fillings. Known for their huge chocolate chunks, these delights come in flavors like triple chocolate, banana, and candied orange.
My go-to spot for soft and moist cookies in Paris. It’s less sweet than the regular cookies you find in France. The black sesame one is an absolute favorite—it’s a must-try. I swung by on a Sunday morning and was delighted to find them still slightly warm. While they are a bit on the pricey side, the quality makes it well worth it.

Very interesting to find Asian flavor cookies like matcha and black sesame. They are big.
Wendy L — Google review
The best cookie I’ve ever had in my life. I get the pecan and white chocolate one. It comes out warm so the chocolate melts in your mouth. That and the chewiness contrasted with the crunch of the pecan is what I would call a chefs kiss 🙏🏼 Also bonus points because when I went there was no line

Very good cookies! :) however staff are not super friendly
Wynnifred L — Google review
The selection here is impressive, and the cookies are tasty, but to be honest, they're not worth waiting in line for, and they definitely don't rank as the best cookies I've ever had. I opted for the "Signature," their supposed top seller, and while it was decent, I was expecting the dough to be more impressive. Next time, I'll give another flavor a try for sure.

Amazing and delicious cookies! They are big, not overly sweet and mouthwatering! The matcha cookie was sooo bomb! I definitely recommend this place!

A good choice for cookies, if American styles cookies is what you want, meaning that generally the cookies are quite soft. I liked the cookie, and think the variety of flavors really has something for everyone. The matcha cookie is very true to its name and indeed does have a rich matcha flavor.

Nestled in the heart of Paris's 2nd arrondissement, Berko stands out as a must-visit destination for dessert lovers. This charming spot is renowned for its extensive selection of baked delights, crafted daily with fresh ingredients. From delightful cupcakes to rich cheesecakes and celebratory cakes, Berko offers an array of flavors that will tantalize your taste buds—think vanilla, chocolate, raspberry, rose, Oreo, and lemon curd!
My favorite bakery! as a big fan of red velvet, this place makes the best one so far, you can taste the cheese cream frosting and all the right ingredients, what an amazing job! whenever I come to Paris I always have to stop there and get me some, it is a pure delight!!! I

Would you pay 70€ for this? The cake looks nothing like the one I ordered. It looks like they threw together leftover cake trimmings, slapped some dead flowers on top, and called it a day. The photo shows a comparison of the cake I received vs the one shown on their website. Classic case of false advertising.
Margaret J — Google review
I tried a red velvet cupcake and a raspberry red velvet one. The cream cheese was nice but the cake was too dry to my taste. For the red coloring, I could tell from the look that it was natural, maybe beetroot, because it was more on the brick/brownish shade. But overall, it was nice. Their other cakes looked so inviting. If I pass the shop again, I‘ll try more.
Soonyata M — Google review
Expensive for what they charge and what they provide as a final product. Pains me to put a bad review as I care for businesses out there but it is just not worth it. Customer service was extremely poor as well.
Usama R — Google review
Terrible customer service since they changed ownership of the shop. They didn't have cake boxes and expected me to take away a cake I had ordered 3 days in advance in a cardboard box which was both unprofessional and anti-hygienic. They didn't even have a plastic cover for the cake. Since the cake was preordered they could've easily purchased the proper packaging in order to avoid this shameful situation. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE I had to run and buy a cake elsewhere.

I’ve placed orders a few times for a preordered and customized cake, for several occasions which have been delicious and pretty! Their small cupcakes are an absolute delight!

Excellent cupcakes and cheesecake! The cupcakes had a distinct and powerful flavor, much more than just sugar and butter. The cheesecake was moist and sweet, with spots of fruit throughout. Loved it!

Cédric Grolet is a renowned pastry chef known for his high-concept cakes and pastries, which are crafted in his chic and acclaimed bakery. His creations have gained popularity for their ultra-grammable designs that often begin with a fruit or nut, distilled into pastry-inspired forms before being reassembled to look like the original ingredient. Despite the heftier price tag, these beautiful and creative pastries are worth trying at least once.
I love this pastry shop. Everything looked amazing and was of an incredibly high standard. The quality was unbelievable and everything was so fresh and juicy. I waited for about an hour in the morning, but it was worth every second. I will definitely go there again. If you're coming to Paris, this is the number one pastry shop you have to visit — it's an amazing place, and the pastries are out of this world!

✨ A must-visit in Paris if you’re a dessert lover! In December, the price was €17 per dessert — quite high, but totally worth it for the experience and quality. I tried the pistachio one, and it was absolutely incredible — rich, creamy, and full of flavor, truly a bomb! The presentation is stunning, like a piece of art, and it feels special to enjoy it right in the heart of Paris. Be ready for a line, but once you taste it, you’ll understand why people wait.
Tatsiana T — Google review
Absolutely delicious, top-quality desserts. The chocolate-vanilla tart and the vanilla pod completely stole my heart - it was incredible. I’ve tried many desserts in my life, and for me it’s never just about “eating something sweet,” but about appreciating it as a work of art. And these desserts are among the best I’ve ever had. This place is definitely worth visiting, if only to get a closer look at the legend. Unfortunately, the tart wasn’t placed well in the box and got deformed, but that didn’t affect the taste. The pastries were outstanding - those layers and the incredible buttery flavor were simply the best I’ve ever tried. Without exaggeration, it was the best croissant of my life.

A Must-Try Parisian Breakfast at Cédric Grolet If you're in Paris and love pastry, a visit to Cédric Grolet is an absolute must. We made a reservation in advance for the fixed breakfast menu (€50 per person), which includes both savory and sweet options, along with the now-iconic croissants that have taken over Instagram. The quality of the products is truly exceptional. The croissants were without a doubt some of the best in Paris — perfectly flaky, buttery, and beautifully presented. Alongside the pastries, the menu offered delicious savory dishes as well, all crafted with the same level of precision and care. The location itself is stunning and elegant, making the experience feel extra special — like a mix between a high-end boutique and a modern pâtisserie. The service was fine — not particularly memorable, but efficient enough — though the real star here is the food. There were also other pastries and creations available for purchase at the counter, each a piece of edible art. Whether you're a foodie, a pastry lover, or just curious about one of the world’s most famous pâtissiers, Cédric Grolet is a unique and worthwhile experience in Paris.

Alright… the place is nice, the service is amazing, there is a guy explaining you everything so 10/10 the experience you will have. Of course there is a line of 1-2 hours and then is when you start doubting if it is worth it or not. I wait 1 hour and I was one of the 20 first ones (I arrived 8:40 AM, so 20 minutes before they open) Flavor: nice, I will not say great because the price is pretty high so you are expecting a new whole different flavor but it is not But since everything is a whole thing I give 5 starts, congrats for the experience and presentation.
Irma C — Google review
Hands down impressive bakery, there's a queue be warned, but its organized with ropes, and they let you enter 1 or 2 parties at a time which is really nice so you could feast your eyes on everything. I would suggest show up 9am first thing. We ordered the croissant and pain au chocolate, very overwhelmed and NEED to go back. The quartier is very chic, I wasn't surprised to see all the versace, loro piana loafers and balenciaga city bag while waiting! I loved the whole experience!
Julee A — Google review
Cédric Grolet Opéra feels like stepping into a pastry museum where everything’s alive and edible. The space is sleek, minimalist, almost gallery-like — white marble, perfect lighting, and those jaw-dropping fruit desserts lined up like jewels. I tried the lemon — looks exactly like the real fruit, but the first bite is insane: thin chocolate shell, bright citrus mousse, layers of texture that actually make you stop talking for a second. Everything here is precise, delicate, and borderline too pretty to eat. It’s not cheap, and the line moves slow because people are filming everything, but honestly, worth it once.

Alright alright, listen it's cool and all, cool to see and let consumerism take over. But he isn't there all the time, research carefully where you can find him (the hotel where he works at). We spent 37euros for 2 "tarts", one chocolate (red rose looking) and the vanilla (the other). The vanilla one is great, the chocolate one is alright. Not worth the price but whatever, we ball.

Ritz Paris Le Comptoir is a chic hotel bakery known for its exquisite pastries and specialties like tarts and Madeleine fondant hearts. Guests can enjoy a stylish breakfast under the Belle Epoque glass roof or on the terrace of Bar Vendo, with options ranging from Vendo breakfast to à la carte choices like eggs Benedict, avocado slices, exotic fruit platter, and French toast.
The croissant is exceptional, the coffee is perfect and the madeleines are extraordinary. If you want that feeling of awe when you bite into a french pastry, you need to visit here. The croissant looks like a long tube, but it makes the flavour even better than regular croissants. Authentic and creative, and carrying on its culinary heritage with grace.

Stopped into Le Comptoir Bakery after brunch and decided to dine in for the full experience, even with a 20-minute wait. The display case was stunning, and we tried the recommended Millefeuille To Go and the Fig Tray. Both were beautifully made, balanced in sweetness, not overly sugary, which we both appreciated. My wife paired hers with tea while I had an espresso; everything was top quality. The staff were very friendly, the shop is clean and charming, though the entrance requires walking around Place Vendôme since there’s no direct access from the Ritz. The craftsmanship was clear, though the flavors didn’t stand out as much as expected. I look forward to trying a few more of their pastries before deciding if the experience truly warrants a five-star rating. Overall, it was a nice stop for refined pastries, worth enjoying onsite when time allows or taking away if the line is long.

Beautiful looking shop. I came for a couple of madelines take away. The strawberry one was good, but to be honest, nothing exceptional and could have had more moist in it. The lemon one was on another game though. It was so moist, sugary and really strong lemon flavour. It was excellent!!
Nuria Y — Google review
The location is, unfortunately, overrated. We waited almost an hour just to get a table, and once seated (we were four people), the tables turned out to be very small — barely enough space for the desserts and drinks. It felt uncomfortable and made the service awkward. Desserts are served on a piece of cardboard, left on a tray, just like in a fast-food place — completely out of place for a venue carrying the name “Ritz.” The food itself was decent, but it doesn’t justify the prices or the effort of waiting that long. When you hear “Ritz,” you expect elegance, refinement, and flawless service — unfortunately, our experience was far from that. The atmosphere felt more like a neighborhood café, yet with Ritz-level prices. A pity for the time lost.
MTS — Google review
Non-traditional take on croissant by Ritz. In general, star properties make the pastries look good, but they get the flavor and texture completely wrong. Ritz breaks that trend. This has to be one of the best croissants I ever had in France. Dont miss their chocolate croissant as well. It will give the best Pain au Chocolats of Paris a run for their money :)
Suresh K — Google review
We stopped by midmorning for some coffee and pastries...mainly to try their famous stick croissant. The café has an elegant, refined vibe with friendly staff who welcomed us right in. We ordered the stick pain au chocolat, which looked promising but turned out to be just okay. Maybe we should've stuck with their stick croissant? However, the lemon tart and shiny madeleine totally made up for it—both were delicious and beautifully done. It’s a lovely little stop to rest your feet after shopping or fuel up before diving back in. Nothing over the top, but definitely worth a visit for a calm, tasty break in between your retail therapy.

Super place in heart of Paris, I've felt like in sweet paradise. The taste of the Madeleine was perfect and the tart is wow unbelievable. The price of the Madeleines is super high, but believe me it's worth it. I'm a visitor from Lebanon where excellent sweets are provided, but if you want to try the French sweets you have to pay a visit to this wonderful place.

Le Comptoir du Ritz is pure Parisian excellence. Every detail — from the presentation to the service — reflects the timeless elegance of the Ritz. His flagship store in Tokyo and subsequent Paris location have become synonymous with Haute-Patisserie, offering a delectable array of macarons that are lauded for their lightness and delightful flavors. With a heritage rooted in Alsatian bakery tradition, Hermé's artistry has garnered international acclaim.
I had an exceptional experience at this chocolate shop! The service was outstanding – the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the products they offer. They took the time to explain the different types of chocolate and helped me choose the perfect selection based on my preferences. The shop itself was beautifully designed, and the quality of the chocolates was beyond impressive. Every piece I tried was rich, smooth, and simply delicious. I highly recommend this place to any chocolate lover looking for top-notch quality and service!

Bit overrated to be honest. Don't get me wrong, the experience was great! The members of staff were very friendly and helpful. The macarons looked and tasted great, but I would say they are a bit overpriced in my opinion (compared to other lesser known options in the city). They had great packaging, so you can get some macarons home as a great souvenir.

Great desserts! Tried the macarons and also ice cream after the long walk. Staffs were very friendly and sharing the information about all kinds of popular French desserts with us. The macarons were not overly sweet and I wish I could bring some home for friends. This place is recommended.

They have about 20 different flavors of macarons and some pastries offered. I bought a box of 24 for 69 euro that came in a pretty, limited edition box which was perfect for gifting. The staff suggested one of each flavor and then duplicate their most popular flavors which was a great idea. There was a line to order but it moved fast.

I am here for the pastry desserts. I’ve had their macarons before but they are not the best after tasting some smaller shops’. The pastries here are delicious. I wanted to try the Ispahan macaron with raspberries and the Buche Ispahan seasonal pastry cake. Their Ispahan flavor is rose, raspberries and lychee. Both were delicious but if I would say the Buche was the best between the two. The macaron cookie of the Ispahan large macaron sandwich (with real raspberries in the center) was too sweet.

L’Ami Jean is a cozy bistro located in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, known for its elevated meat and seafood dishes made from sustainable ingredients. The restaurant has a devoted fan base and is popular among both locals and tourists seeking an authentic bistro experience. The lively atmosphere, with mismatched furniture and crooked artwork, adds to the charm of this establishment.
Superb meal! Rich and delicious food. Fun, knowledgeable service. We enjoyed the tight space and shared table. Rice pudding is mandatory. Come hungry. Stephane is the real deal.

L’Ami Jean continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in Paris. The menu changes but the quality stays the same. Most recently I went for lunch and enjoyed an incredible sea bass (one of the best I’ve ever had) with vegetables and a pork dish alongside their signature mashed potatoes. And no L’Ami Jean meal is complete without their famous rice pudding. So so delicious and the perfect ending to what’s always a great meal!
Tausha C — Google review
It was my first time dining here after seeing so many great reviews online. Many people mentioned that the prices are a bit high for Paris, but honestly I think it’s completely reasonable considering the quality. Every dish tasted refined, flavorful, and well balanced, rich but never overwhelming. You can really tell this isn’t home style cooking, it’s fine dining level cuisine. The mashed potatoes with meat sauce were absolutely delicious, such a perfect combination. The wine by the glass selection wasn’t huge, but every option we tried was excellent and very smooth. I also ordered the sweetbread, which is usually served as a starter at other restaurants, but here it came as a main dish. The portion was huge and cooked perfectly. It was incredibly satisfying, though a little heavy toward the end, not because of the flavor but simply because of the portion itself. Still, every bite was worth it, crispy, rich, and so fulfilling. The overall atmosphere was elegant yet cozy, the kind of place that makes you want to come back. If I ever return to Paris, this restaurant will definitely be on my list again.

Good main dish, dessert and wine selection. The portion is a bit too big from my perspective. Service is actually good which is above my expectations.

My wife and I had a wonderful time and an even more wonderful meal here. We enjoyed a few Michelin restaurants during our time in Paris, but the meal we would have again was the one we had here. Also a special shout out, they noticed my wife was pregnant and got her a chair to sit while we waited and sat us at a table with more room so she could be comfortable.

A Truly Unforgettable Parisian Lunch It was my last day in Paris, and I asked ChatGPT for the one restaurant I absolutely had to try for lunch. It recommended L’Ami Jean, and I’m so glad it did. This place left me smiling from the moment I sat down to long after I walked out into the Paris streets. Tucked away on a quiet street, the restaurant has a warm, cozy ambiance and the perfect-sized lunch crowd. My waitress, Anondile (if I got her name right), recommended two dishes since it was my first time: Sauté de cèpes et girolles, oeuf de 6 minutes (starter) Pêche du Jour Davant, Dit Sauvage — wild seabass (main) Before anything else, they serve housemade bread and butter on a bed of sea salt—simple but unbelievably good. The starter was a complete flavor explosion; I’m normally not a fan of boiled eggs, but the oeuf de 6 minutes was perfect in this dish. The seabass was pan-fried to perfection, plated beautifully with beet, mushroom, a savory sauce, and silky creamy potatoes. It was one of those meals that leaves you fully satisfied and wishing you had room for dessert. I ended with a hot tea and just sat there reflecting on how amazing the meal was. No wonder this is a spot where other chefs come to dine. It’s an authentic French experience through and through. I’m heading back to the States for the holidays, but when I return to Paris, L’Ami Jean will absolutely be on my list again. Chef Stéphane Jégo’s food truly brings a smile to your face.

Wonderful experience and dinner . See menu. Started with pate snd grilled scallops followed by sweet breads and pork cheeks w/mashed potatoes. Finished with their famous rice pudding. Tables are packed together side by side but due to staggered reservations this was not a problem
James M — Google review
Had a reservation for one and enjoyed an exceptional lunch. Service was warm and attentive throughout. I regret not asking for my server’s name - she was kind, professional, and made the experience feel personal. If she ever reads this, I hope she knows her hospitality stood out. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, with an open kitchen that invites you into the process. My only minor gripe: tables are placed quite close together, which can make things feel a bit cramped. But it’s clear the chef’s focus lies elsewhere - every ounce of care and creativity has gone into the menu, and it shows. FOOD - For starters: Razor clams gently poached in a rich, aromatic fish stock infused with tomato, tarragon, and a medley of other herbs and spices. The broth was the highlight - deeply flavorful and layered, with sweet acidity from the tomato and a subtle anise note from the tarragon. Generous amounts of fried onion and grilled tomato added both texture and umami. While I typically prefer my clams raw or grilled, these were exceptionally well prepared. Overall, a pleasant surprise that converted even this skeptic of poached shellfish For the main course - A perfectly grilled pigeon, precisely cooked, super juicy. Each piece was nestled atop a stunning mushroom ragout that delivered an immediate wow: deeply savory, earthy, and luxuriously textured. Alongside it were root vegetables simmered in a rich beef stock, equally imbued with the depth of the forest and a soulful, slow-cooked intensity. The dish was served with a flamed wild plant. The aromatic smoke delicately perfumed the dish, enhancing the taste of the pigeon and layering the experience with a wild, yet elegant, edge. Served on the side were hearty mashed potatoes - super buttery and creamy. It didn’t just complement the pigeon, it harmonized well with the ragout and vegetables, creating a spoonful that was rich and satisfying. I've eaten four pigeon dishes in my life, three of which were in Michelin restaurants, but this was the best. For dessert - The chef’s signature creation: a rice pudding that’s anything but traditional. The rice was cooked with precision - tender yet solid, holding together in gentle clumps without ever becoming porridge. Simmered in milk and mascarpone, the texture was a 10/10: luxuriously creamy, soft, and infinitely comforting. The dominant flavor was unapologetically milky. But the real twist lies beneath - an extraordinary salty crème anglaise, unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. Flecked with real vanilla and carrying the unmistakable depth of salted butter, it’s a sauce that stuns on its own and transforms the pudding into a study in contrast: sweet vs. salty. Also beneath the rice - toasted medley of hazelnuts and walnuts, their buttery richness and delicate smokiness adding dimension. Most crucially, they brought a necessary crunch, cutting through the softness and amplifying the dish’s balance and intrigue. Bottom line: A show-stopping dessert. And I say that having eaten some decent, serious rice puddings, around the world. This one is in a league of its own. TO CONCLUDE: If it’s been a while since a meal truly excited you, do yourself a favor - book a table.

Takeout Restaurant
Philippe Conticini is a renowned pastry shop located in Paris, known for its exquisite pastries and cakes. One of their famous creations is the Saint-Honore, a traditional French pastry featuring puff pastry, cream puffs, hard caramel shell, Chiboust, and Chantilly whipped cream. The shop also offers other delectable treats such as the Gran Cru Vanille and Paris Brest cakes.
We preordered the XXL croissant from Philippe Conticini and picked it up at Galleries Lafayette. The size was super big as expected and it was still very tasty like a small croissant from there. I loved eating it and sharing it with others because you need 6 people at least to eat it😅 If you are a croissant fan, then you must try it but make sure to preorder it before and select your preferred pick up store.

Loved this croissant so much, golden crust, soft and airy inside. Rich, buttery flavor without being greasy or too sweet. Truly simple and delicious. I’ll try the XL next time.

I had a lovely experience buying my giant pain au chocolat for my birthday! The staff was lovely and the pain au chocolat was beautiful and delicious! I definitely recommend a visit.
Luisa F — Google review
We absolutely adore their Saint-Honoré cake, so much so that we’ve bought it twice – it’s a masterpiece of delicate choux pastry, caramelized bubbles, and creamy filling. However, during our last visit, something unfortunate happened. While the staff member was carefully placing the cake into the box, one of the caramelized bubbles slipped and fell. To our surprise, instead of replacing the damaged cake outright, he insisted on trying to ‘repair’ it, meticulously putting the bubble back in place. After some back and forth, we politely requested a new cake, as we felt that a dessert of such high quality deserved to be presented flawlessly. That’s when things took an awkward turn. His colleague, clearly irritated by the situation, stepped in to pack the replacement cake but did so with a visible look of frustration. Their angry expression and abrupt movements left us feeling uneasy, dampening what should have been a delightful experience. While the Saint-Honoré itself remained as delicious as ever – its crisp caramel, airy cream, and perfectly balanced sweetness still making it a standout dessert – the interaction left us with mixed feelings. We hope the team can work on turning these small moments into opportunities to shine because their desserts are truly worth celebrating.

We were in Paris around New Year’s and ended up at Philippe Conticini because I had saved it in my favourites ages ago ( now I’m finally writing the review while cleaning up my saved places). I also saw it trending on TikTok, so we expected a line… and yes, we waited quite a while. My friend and I bought the biggest possible pain au chocolat (whatever that part is officially called 😅) it looked super fun and was definitely great for the photo. But honestly, it was kind of dry, didn’t have enough chocolate, and was pretty overpriced for what it was. Still, it was a fun little experience and I’m glad we went, more for the hype and laughs than the pastry itself😄☺️
Lara — Google review
I was really disappointed! I went there three days in a row — morning, afternoon, and evening — hoping to finally try the famous giant croissant everyone talks about. But every single time, they told me it was sold out. After all that effort and excitement, I left feeling pretty let down.

Quality service! I rarely leave reviews... yet here I am at 11PM writing one. Huge thanks to this charming Swedish young man (that’s all I remember)!
Emmanuel L — Google review
Tried his signature paris brest, his flan and the chocolate praline tart and the dark chocolate cookies. The paris brest was underwhelming both in flavor and texture (Y Couvreur is much better). The vanilla flan was average same for the cookies, super dry. The chocolate praline tart was the highlight which was good, a nice chocolate ganache and Caramelized nuts were a nice combination. Definitely the best desserts out of the 3

Chocolate shop
Patrick Roger is a renowned chocolatier in Paris, with multiple boutiques across the city. His chocolates are known for their unique and traditional flavors, such as lemongrass, oatmeal, and saffron. One of his iconic creations is the 'Instinct' chocolate clusters made of almond and hazelnut praline coated with dark or milk chocolate. These chocolates are available in his shops adorned with impressive chocolate sculptures.
This is a Parisian chocolatier that we have much enjoyed over the years. Was disappointed when they closed their Brussels branch meaning we can only make purchases when passing through Paris. You'll find a handful of branches around the city. This time around we stopped at their branch along Blvd. St. Germain while sightseeing in the area. Always interesting seeing the chocolate sculpture creations on display. We also like picking up small boxes of pralines, sometimes for gifts and usually one or two for ourselves. The single origin chocolate bars come in tins which are convenient for packing and taking back home as well. They are all pretty good, especially the 70-75% dark chocolates. Ask for help picking out what might be best for you, staff are helpful describing what flavours to expect based on the chocolate origin.

I visited this chocolate shop because it doesn't exist in Japan yet. I bought an assortment of chocolates in different flavors. Everything was very delicious. The staff was also polite.

What an experience. You walk in and you feel like luxury all around you. The aroma is incredible. Great service and great experience. I purchased some chocolates to bring back to Canada with me. Merci!
Doreen's D — Google review
We were in the store for almost 10 minutes before the two sales associates acknowledged us. When they did it was with a curt: Do you need anything? Weird question that made us feel like we were disturbing social hour. We bought nothing bc…we didn’t want to bother and interrupt the socializing.
Pasado C — Google review
First experience at this location that was recommended by a friend. The sales women was professional and described the offerings well and let us try a piece of chocolate. We left with the Discovery box and a box of All Instinct praline assortment which the four of us split when we got home. Delicious. Melt in your mouth chocolates. Hope to go back.
Kelly C — Google review
The store is beautifully designed, and the chocolates are good looking. However, I chose not to buy anything because the customer service was the worst I’ve experienced in any chocolate shop in France. I believe that great chocolate should be accompanied by good service, and unfortunately, this shop fell short.
April W — Google review
Very friendly customer service to help answer questions and make recommendations. There are signs all over not to touch anything. You will be warned if you try to touch anything. This is probably the most expensive chocolate I’ve ever bought. It’s also some of the best quality I’ve ever had. The packaging is very nice and it has some weight to it. The bars some in a metal tin and the plastic packing has a resealable flap. For special occasions this place is a treat to enjoy. I wish the prices were a bit more affordable, but in any case if it’s a special occasion I would make the trip to buy some more chocolate from Patrick Rodger.
Sven R — Google review
Ghastly experience at this location. We entered the store and the sole person working there was on the phone. She proceeded to have a ten minute conversation while we waited to ask questions on the (overpriced) chocolates, .not once even acknowledging our presence. Finally we gave up and left - as we did she yelled out "it's an order, what do you want me to do?" Say hello, welcome to the store, something...? Really unfortunate experience.

Bakery
Le Petit Grain is a popular bakery in Paris, known for its photogenic bread display and favored by the fashion crowd. The owner, Edward Delling-Williams, also runs the well-regarded restaurant Le Grand Bain just across the street. The bakery's specialty is the Kouign-amann, a Breton pastry with layers of sugar and salty butter, given an earthy twist with ginger and sesame seeds.
The pecan pastry is one of the most delicious things I’ve ever tasted. I was hesitant to come here at first because the reviews say the staff is rude but it was fine for me, even as a non-French speaker. I also got a small piece of the buckwheat bread with seeds. Only thing is that it was $10 for both pastry and quarter piece of bread which felt a bit expensive to me…
Mary S — Google review
Good bakery with unique flavors for their pastries! Kouign amann which has seasame & ginger.

Little cute bakery with kind staff. Their pastries look good and tastes good.

We came here every morning for a pastry since our hotel was on the corner. Delicious pastries, we especially loved the pain au chocolat! (only €2,20?!) Crispy, flakey and quite big of size. Would definitely recommend!
Betti B — Google review
Lovely bakery with delicious pastries. Also love the design of the store.
Sa E — Google review
Really, I mean REALLY good bread. I tried almost everything and its always good. Would recommend also cinnamon brioche and banana bread, sandwiches are also usually good. I lowered the grade because one of the girls on the counter is very unpleasant to talk to and to my [luck] shes often there in the morning. The others are super nice though.
Anastasiia M — Google review
The brioche with matcha is worth the trip.
Brent S — Google review
Overall good, but the pain au chocolat and croissant aren’t the best. Probably the cakes and everything else that’s not pastry is better.
