Hotel
Hilton Colombo is a modern hotel situated in the heart of Colombo's business district, offering bright rooms and suites with some featuring ocean views. The hotel is conveniently located near popular tourist attractions such as Dutch Hospital shopping mall, Galle Face Beach, and Gangarama Temple. Guests can easily explore the city with local tuk-tuks available outside the hotel.
I have visited the Hilton Colombo many times, yet my most recent stay was simply extraordinary. From the wonderfully warm and personal welcome to the flawless service throughout, every detail was handled with impeccable care. The Executive Lounge staff were a particular delight, and the thoughtful floral arrangements, generous fruit basket, and sweets added a truly special touch. I was utterly delighted by the incredible room upgrade – a gesture that went far beyond expectation. My guests and business partners were equally impressed, and the evening meals in the restaurant were exemplary. Sincere thanks to Mr Manesh Fernando and his remarkable team – their dedication, professionalism, and warmth set the Hilton Colombo apart. I look forward immensely to my next visit.

All in all, a pleasant stay at Hilton Colombo. While it didn’t quite feel like a full 5-star experience, the front of house staff were a real highlight. Bakhti and Daniel, in particular, stood out — friendly, attentive, and professional. Bakhti even arranged a lovely cake and decorated the room for my parents’ anniversary, which was a really thoughtful touch. The breakfast was a bit chaotic, and the food and drink quality could be improved, but despite that, the hotel is a great base for exploring Colombo. It is very safe, secure, and gorgeous, with a lovely courtyard featuring a water feature and swans. I’d happily recommend it for a comfortable stay.

We had an amazing anniversary stay at Hilton! Everything was excellent from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond to make our day special. Housekeeping (Kumudu) provided great service, and we were surprised with a delicious cake and beautiful towel bed décor. The hospitality was outstanding, and the restaurant Graze was excellent. Special thanks to Security Pradeep, Host Fiona, and Receptionist Noah for making our stay truly memorable. Highly recommended

I made a reservation for 8 people for Oktoberfest on 9th November 2025, & I made the payments on 02/10/25. Made the payment early Hoping to reserve a good table , Some one called Kavindya (table reservations) took the booking. Called her few times requesting for a menu (for few of my foreign friends) she never got back to me.. We managed to arrive on the venue around 7:15pm again to grab a good spot & 98% of the tables were empty, she said there was a change of tables, and she took us & ask us to sit in a corner table so far away from the stage. Like on the last row, when we asked for a table near by she said “All the tables are reserved! & if you want she can refund the money” I asked for her manager & a lady call Natasha clams to be the manager came & said the same.. they couldn’t explain when I asked them on what basis you reserved the other tables. I argued with her saying if there is a table resavation or a table number why didn’t take responsibility to mention it on the ticket it self when we make the booking. It’s very disappointing to see how these women (your staff, so called managers ) act to ruin the good will of this international hotel, they make Favourations for people they know & treat other guests poorly. I hope the management will take action towards these people & look in to this issue without ignoring these situations. People spend money & come there to have a good time enjoy. Don’t make it a habit of running it for others so because you want treat your own special. We won’t be tolerating these kinda behavior from Colombo Hilton. I need a feedback regarding this or I will be contacting who can assist to this.

Review: Oktoberfest VIP Experience So, what can I say? I decided to splash out on a VIP ticket for Oktoberfest, thinking it would offer something special, a bit of extra comfort, service, or at least some recognition for the higher price. Unfortunately, it really wasn’t worth the money. There was absolutely no difference between the VIP experience and the standard ticket. No perks, no extras, and the staff seemed completely unaware of what the VIP option even included. I actually had to go and ask someone what was supposed to be “VIP” about it, and even then, no one seemed to know. Honestly, if you’re thinking of going, save your money and just get a regular ticket. You’ll have exactly the same experience without paying the premium. That said, the food was quite good and the atmosphere was lively enough for what it was, festive, a bit chaotic, but fun in its own way. Just don’t expect anything remotely “VIP” about the so-called VIP section.

Hilton Colombo offers an outstanding hospitality experience right in the heart of the city. The staff are warm, professional, and always attentive to every detail, making guests feel truly cared for. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, offering great views and modern amenities. The restaurants serve excellent food with a wide variety of local and international dishes, and the buffet is always a highlight. A perfect blend of comfort, class, and genuine Sri Lankan hospitality — highly recommended for both business and leisure stays!

Buffet restaurant
Graze Kitchen, situated in the renowned Hilton Colombo, is a top choice for seafood enthusiasts with its extensive array of sushi, sashimi, maki, and various other seafood delights. The buffet includes a dedicated seafood section boasting an impressive selection of prawns, mussels, crab, cuttlefish, and octopus. This restaurant offers live cuisines from Mediterranean to Japanese with live chef stations showcasing the best of world-class dining.
Visited Hilton Graze Kitchen to celebrate my father’s birthday, and it was hands down the best buffet experience I’ve had in Sri Lanka so far. I made an early reservation, and the staff went the extra mile by surprising us with a complimentary birthday cake, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The buffet was priced around nine thousand per person, and it was worth every cent. The food choices were extensive and delicious something for everyone! The ambiance was calm and relaxing, giving us a peaceful space to enjoy the evening. The staff were incredibly attentive and courteous throughout. Highly recommend Graze Kitchen for special occasions or if you’re simply looking for a top-tier buffet in Colombo. Will definitely be returning!

We tried the weekday dinner buffet at Graze Kitchen, Hilton Colombo, to celebrate my mother’s and father-in-law’s birthdays. We were a group of 8, and I had emailed the team in advance to let them know about the celebration. They kindly replied saying that two complimentary cakes would be arranged, which we thought was a lovely gesture. However, on the night, they only brought out one cake at first. This felt a little uncomfortable as it overlooked one of the birthdays. Once I mentioned it again, they did bring out the second cake, which we appreciated, but it would have been much nicer if it had been handled smoothly without having to remind them. The food overall was good, though the buffet didn’t have as wide a variety as we expected for a Hilton dinner spread. There were sections for Indian, Chinese, and Sri Lankan cuisine, along with a few pasta and pizza options. The Japanese section was a little disappointing — to my surprise, there were no dumplings, and the sushi corner was quite small with only a limited variety. On the other hand, the dessert spread was excellent, with a generous range of sweets that everyone really enjoyed. Service throughout the evening was generally very good. Most of the staff were polite, attentive, and helpful, which made the evening pleasant. The only downside was that towards the end of the night, one waiter came across as a bit rude, which slightly took away from an otherwise smooth service experience. ✨ Overall, Graze Kitchen is a nice spot for a celebration. The food was good, the desserts were impressive, and the service was mostly commendable, but a greater variety of dishes and more attention to detail in handling special requests would make the experience truly exceptional.

⭐ Rating: 4/5 Visited Graze Kitchen (November 2025) at Hilton Colombo for their weekday lunch buffet. The place was packed, mostly with people from formal and corporate backgrounds — so it’s definitely best to make a reservation in advance. The buffet offered a decent variety of dishes for the price (around 7,000 LKR). Taste-wise, nothing was disappointing — everything was well-prepared and flavorful. 💡 Tip: Don’t skip the coffee at the end — a good cuppa really helps melt all that delicious food away.

I visited Graze Kitchen for the morning buffet and it was an amazing experience. The food variety, freshness, and presentation were on another level. Every station had something unique and everything I tried tasted delicious. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel special. The atmosphere is calm, clean, and perfect for starting the day with a peaceful meal. Definitely one of the best breakfast buffets in Colombo. Worth every rupee.... highly recommended!

An exceptional dining experience—highly recommended! This was my second visit, and once again, the food was delicious and full of flavor. The spread offered a great variety, and the customer service was warm and attentive throughout. While the dessert selection was a bit limited, the quality was still enjoyable. A nice touch with the availability of cocktails as well. Looking forward to returning again soon!

Graze Kitchen at Hilton Colombo is honestly one of my all-time favorite spots for family and friends’ outings! Every time I visit, the food, the service, and the whole atmosphere are just perfect. Their à la carte menu is absolutely worth the price.. everything I’ve tried so far has been delicious and well presented. I have to be honest though, I tried their dinner buffet once, and it wasn’t really my favorite. The taste didn’t match the high standard of their à la carte dishes. But other than that, everything else has always been amazing! My go-to order is their Tuna Sandwich ❤️ it’s unbelievably good, fresh, and full of flavor! 😍 This time I tried the Seafood Noodles, and trust me, it was simply next level… so tasty and well-balanced! Also, I really want to mention one of their supervisors or managers.. he’s always dressed neatly in full kit and so friendly! He actually remembered me from my previous visit and came over to say hello again, which honestly made my day. That kind of personal attention and memory for guests shows how truly professional and kind the staff are here. Overall, Hilton Colombo’s Graze Kitchen never disappoints. Great food, lovely staff, comfortable ambiance, and service that makes you feel special every single time. Can’t wait to go again soon! 💖✨

We had a great experience at the Graze Kitchen! The food was absolutely tasty — full of flavor and nicely presented. A special thank you to Fiona and Chethani for their warm and attentive service. They really made us feel welcome. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for delicious food and friendly service!

Went for the dinner buffet and really enjoyed it. The staff was excellent. There’s a big variety of food Sri Lankan, Chinese, Japanese, and more. They also have a juice corner. Most of the food I tried was great. Only downside was the dessert corner, which was smaller than other hotel buffets in Colombo. They also offer a free service if you’re celebrating something, which is nice.

Nestled in the heart of Colombo's business district, Shangri-La Colombo offers a luxurious tropical retreat with stunning views of the Indian Ocean. The hotel boasts 541 well-appointed rooms and suites, each designed to provide unparalleled comfort and convenience. Guests can enjoy 24-hour room service and access to a range of amenities including four restaurants, an outdoor pool, and a spa.
We recently stayed at Shangri La to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, and it couldn’t have been more special. The staff went above and beyond, especially during breakfast where I was surprised with a beautifully presented birthday treat and warm wishes from the team. It was such a thoughtful gesture and really made my day feel extra special. What also stood out was the flexibility and kindness of the front desk staff – they graciously allowed a late checkout, which gave us time to relax and enjoy the last moments of our stay without feeling rushed. From start to finish, the service was exceptional. It’s clear the team genuinely cares about making guests feel welcome and appreciated. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a place that adds those personal touches that make all the difference.

We had an excellent stay at Shangri-La Colombo. The hotel is beautifully maintained, and every member of the staff was exceptionally warm and welcoming. We stayed for six nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The breakfast buffet offered an impressive variety of dishes, showcasing both local and international flavors. A special thanks to Chef Dishan for personally preparing traditional Sri Lankan favorites — Pittu, Kurakkan Rotti, and Fish Cutlets — upon our request, even though they weren’t part of the buffet. His hospitality truly made our stay memorable. We would definitely return and highly recommend Shangri-La Colombo to anyone looking to experience genuine Sri Lankan warmth and world-class service.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Birthday to Remember at Central – Shangri-La Colombo We visited Central at Shangri-La to celebrate my birthday, and from the very first moment, everything felt special. The staff handled our booking with great care and even took time to understand the reason for our visit. When we arrived, we were greeted with such warmth at the reception that it immediately set the tone for a beautiful evening. The dinner was a mix of Turkish and international cuisine, a true feast prepared by several foreign chefs. Each dish was bursting with flavor, and the variety was amazing. The entire team was so friendly and attentive, constantly checking in to make sure we were having a great time. Their hospitality made us feel completely at home. The Turkish delights were simply irresistible, and every corner of the buffet offered something new to enjoy. Just when I thought the night couldn’t get any better, the team surprised me with a candle-lit birthday cake and sang “Happy Birthday.” It was such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture that made the evening unforgettable. A big thank you to the wonderful team at Central for making my birthday so memorable. Wishing you all continued success. you truly know how to make your guests feel special!

Excellent place to stay and fine. Rooms are large and very well-appointed with all necessities. Check-in does take time, but the staff is very helpful. Opt for the MAP package. Both Breakfast and Dinner had a lot choices of cuisines and the buffet was well planned and extensive. Food was excellent. The Hotel is attached to a reasonably sized Mall with a lot of International labels and domestic top retailers. The Mall has direct access from the Hotel. Right in front of the Hotel is a strip beach that you can walk around, though no swimming was allowed.

To be in the position where your children become unwell overseas is extremely stressful, we were fortunate however to experience a service at Shangri-la Colombo that went above and beyond my expectations of any accomodation. A particular mention to the chefs- particularly the head chef who prepared special meals to accomodate my 2 year old sons recovery, the restaurant staff, the hotel staff who daily asked of my childrens wellbeing & empathising being parents themselves. The volume of housekeeping we required was WELL above our quota but not once was there a single comment. A particular mention of the restaurant manager (Maki); who on one occasion upon seeing my level of distress experiencing this kind of event while being away from home responded- "while you are away from home, separated from your own family- you become a part of ours here", numerous occasions during our stay you offered if we required "absolutely any assistance" possible to simply contact you, this individual is an absolute asset to Shangri-la chain, i can't emphasize that enough, he was incredibly helpful. I realise there is a certain level of expectation when staying at higher end accomodation, this experience excelled above and beyond. I would without hesitation recommend any family stay here, it's especially when the unexpected occurs travelling this kind of support exceeds any monetary considerations. I'm now a member of the Shangri-la chain and when an option will always choose this as my accomodation option over any others. To additionally mention the convenience and reassurance that the hotel has a doctor available was excellent, Dr C was thorough, considerate and caring while taking care of both my children. He maintained constant availability during their illness- i can't emphasize enough the reassurance that provides a Mother when their children fall ill overseas. The only downside was i couldn't bring this level of service back to New Zealand with me! To add for parents travelling all the water in the hotel is run through filters so completely safe and the security is exceptional. Thank you Shangri-la Colombo!!! ❤️🇱🇰

Our visit to the buffet restaurant at the Shangri-La hotel in Colombo was an absolute highlight. The hotel itself is already stunning, with a luxurious feel and a brilliant view over the city (as seen in the night photo), and the food was at the same exceptionally high level. The Buffet: A Culinary World Tour The quality of the food was excellent, and the variety was overwhelming. We were lucky enough to be there during a special Turkish buffet. This was no half-hearted attempt: the hotel had specially flown in chefs from Turkey to guarantee authentic flavors. This was evident in everything, from the perfectly grilled 'Izgara Köfte' (grilled meatballs) and 'Mantar Sote' (sautéed mushrooms) to the delicious 'Pide' (Turkish flatbread) and a truly gorgeous dessert buffet filled with Turkish delights and sweets. Beyond the Turkish specialties, there was also a fantastic selection of Sri Lankan and Indian dishes. The photos show the enormous choice: An extensive cold section with fresh seafood on ice (crab, shrimp, clams). Various live cooking and grill stations. Numerous hot dishes in beautiful copper pans. A major plus was that the restaurant clearly takes international guests into account; the dishes were rich in flavor but not overly spicy for tourists unaccustomed to a lot of chili. Service and Atmosphere The service was also wonderful. The staff was extremely professional, attentive, and friendly, which made the entire experience complete. Conclusion This buffet is an absolute must-try. The combination of the beautiful hotel, the great service, and the fantastic, varied food makes this a top destination for a luxury dinner in Colombo.

Shangri-La Colombo truly sets the standard for luxury hospitality in Sri Lanka. From the moment you step in, you're welcomed with elegance and warmth. The service is exceptional the staff are professional, friendly, and always attentive to every detail, ensuring a seamless and personalized experience throughout your stay. The food is absolutely outstanding, offering a wide range of local and international cuisine with rich flavours and high quality presentation. Attended my son's wedding at Shangri-La. The view from the room was beautiful. Old 2V CLI and Military Hospital Buildings gave the former Lower Lake road (Baladaksha Mawatha) memories. Lower Lake Road had been shifted near to the Beira Lake. Old 2V CLI, Or's Mess, Quarters and WO's and Sgt's mess had been demolished for the road. There were three functions at the assigned location of the wedding but the noise and crowd were well controlled. One typo error was noticed. Food was excellent and the staff were well versed with the wedding crowd. Tables were well prepared and frequently supervised. Washrooms were clean and frequently attended by the staff, even noticed a senior manager visiting and observing the condition of wash washrooms. When there was an issue with a washbasin in the room complaint was smoothly handled, and the maintenance person attended to it very quickly. Air quality was well maintained. Staff were courteous and well-trained. They showed what a Star Class means by their actions.

Cinnamon Red Colombo is a trendy hotel with modern and vibrant rooms and suites. The highlight of the hotel is the Cloud Red, a stylish rooftop bar on the 26th floor offering stunning views of the city skyline and ocean. Guests can enjoy signature cocktails, mocktails, wine, pitchers to share, and tapas while taking in the breathtaking scenery. The hotel's decor is chic and contemporary, providing guests with comfort and style.
The view from the room was absolutely stunning. I stayed for 9 nights, and it never lost its charm for me. The room was clean enough, and all facilities worked well. The staff was kind and helpful. The restaurant and breakfast options were just as you would expect. There are enough options to choose from, maybe more than you need. But, don’t expect a massive selection of international cuisine. The hotel lobby looked slightly dated, but it was satisfactory. A gym is available and sufficient, although it is somewhat limited. All in all, I think it is worth the price, and its location is good.

I had such a wonderful stay at Cinnamon Red Colombo! From the moment I walked in, the receptionist made me feel so welcome, and check-in was super easy. The rooms were clean, comfy, and just perfect, and the room attendants took great care to keep everything tidy. The restaurant staff, security team, luggage counter staff, and managers were all friendly, professional, and made me feel safe and valued. The food was amazing, and the hotel felt super organized and cozy. A special shoutout to the receptionist and call center staff who helped me with a payment issue I had with Rehlat.com — they were so patient, helpful, and really went the extra mile to support me. It made me feel truly cared for! Honestly, every part of my stay — from the comfort and cleanliness to the incredible service — was perfect. I can’t recommend Cinnamon Red Colombo enough and will definitely stay here again when I’m in Colombo!

My wife and I stayed at Cinnamon Red Colombo and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The hotel is stylish, modern, and perfectly located in the heart of Colombo. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and offered a stunning city view. The rooftop pool and bar were the best parts perfect place to relax and enjoy the sunset. The breakfast buffet had a great variety and everything was fresh and delicious. Every staff member we met was polite, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. We truly appreciated their attention to detail and warm hospitality. Overall, this is one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at in Colombo excellent service, value for money, and a beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommended for couples looking for a relaxing and memorable stay!

I recently visited Cinnamon Red Colombo with my family for high tea, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience overall. The food spread was delicious, and we were impressed by the quality and freshness of the items available. The savory selections were particularly enjoyable, and there was a nice range of drinks to complement the food, which made the experience more complete. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which really added to the overall atmosphere. They made sure that we were comfortable and checked in on us regularly, which we truly appreciated. Their warm service definitely elevated the experience. The dessert corner, however, was a little limited compared to what we expected from a high tea buffet. While the available options were tasty, a wider variety would have made the experience even better. On the bright side, they had a few live action stations, including waffles, pancakes, and sandwiches that could be customized based on individual preferences. This added a nice personal touch and ensured that everyone in the family found something they enjoyed. Overall, it was a very pleasant outing with the family. With a little more variety in the dessert section, it would easily be perfect. Still, I would definitely recommend Cinnamon Red Colombo for a relaxing high tea experience.

The property is beautiful, peaceful, and feels luxurious. Food was tasty, and rooms were spacious and comfortable — clearly a place with great potential. However, the service experience didn’t match the standard the property seems to aim for: • Benefits mentioned during online booking weren’t known to the staff. Guests shouldn’t have to reconfirm what’s already stated in the reservation. • Remarks added during booking were also not visible to the team, causing confusion during check-in. • From parking to the front desk, there’s noticeable room for improvement — lobby waiting time was long, and the room wasn’t prepared in advance despite informing late arrival hours ahead. • Overall hospitality and guest understanding felt below expectations for a property of this level. I hope the management takes this as constructive feedback. With better coordination and attention to guest experience, this could easily become one of the best stays in its category.

We had a nice stay at Cinnamon Red Colombo. The location is super convenient, right in the middle of everything, so it was easy to get around and explore the city. The staff were friendly and I want to give a special shoutout to Nimesha, Dilini, and Dinisi, they gave us some tips on cool places to check out in Colombo. One of the highlights for us was definitely the rooftop infinity pool. It’s such a nice spot to relax and enjoy the view after a busy day of sightseeing. Plus, the atmosphere up there is pretty chill and perfect for unwinding. Breakfast was good, there was a great variety of options with tasty food to fuel up for the day ahead. All in all, Cinnamon Red Colombo felt like a really comfortable and enjoyable place to stay.

Very nice location within Colombo and easy accessibility to nearby places . Service is very good. Staff is polite and kind. Pool is good. Breakfast is not really up to the mark but average good. Most of served dishes were cold. Great view of the city from floor 21.

We stayed at Cinnamon Red Colombo for 10 days and had a wonderful experience. The staff were very friendly and always made us feel welcome. The breakfast buffet had plenty of food choices, with something for everyone. Our room was in a corner, so we got to enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the city every day. The rooftop pool was clean and refreshing — a great place to relax. Overall, it’s a cozy, well-located hotel that made our long stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Ramada by Wyndham Colombo is a laid-back choice that provides complimentary parking and features a lounge with dancing, as well as a 24-hour coffee shop. The hotel offers an exquisite international dinner buffet every weekend, including various mouth-watering cuisines. Additionally, they have unique Eid offerings such as biriyani, ghee rice, fried rice, and lamprais available for online orders.
We stayed here for 8 days for a convention. They gave us complimentary drinks upon check-in. No issues and no problem. Staff were nice and willing to help. Elevators were fast. The hotel is easily locatable by ride hailing apps.

Royal Ramada Colombo delivers an outstanding blend of luxury, comfort, and Sri Lankan hospitality. The rooms are spacious, elegantly designed, and impeccably maintained, offering serene city or ocean views. Facilities like the rooftop pool, spa, and fitness center elevate the stay, while the diverse dining options—especially the lavish breakfast buffet—are exceptional. Staff go above and beyond: warm, efficient, and genuinely attentive. Its prime location provides easy access to business hubs, shopping, and attractions. Whether for business or leisure, Ramada ensures a seamless, indulgent experience with top-tier amenities and service. A truly memorable stay—highly recommended!

A Deeply Disappointing High Tea I visited the Ramada for their high tea buffet last Sunday (05/10/2025) with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing on two main fronts: service and food. Service: The staff were not welcoming, with a noticeable lack of smiles or warmth. We also found them to be inattentive; we had to repeat simple requests multiple times as it seemed they weren't fully listening. This created an unwelcoming atmosphere from the start. Food & Variety: The food selection was very limited and did not live up to the standard of the hotel. Savories: The options were minimal, basically consisting of rottis, sandwitches and a very few types of buns. There was a distinct lack of the variety and local short eats one expects. Desserts: This was the biggest letdown. The selection was just basically cake. The chocolate fountain was dysfunctional—the chocolate was so runny and thin that it wouldn't stick to the marshmallows at all. The Final Insult: When I politely shared my disappointments at the end, the staff member simply said "thank you" without any apology or assurance that they would consider the suggestions. It made me feel as if my feedback was invalid and that they have no intention of improving. A simple "We're sorry to hear that, we will share this with the team" would have gone a long way.

The location is excellent — right in the heart of Colombo, close to the Galle Face Green and other main attractions. The pool area and pool bar are definitely highlights, offering a relaxing space to unwind. However, the rooms are showing signs of age and could really use a renovation to match the hotel’s great location and brand name. The food options were average and could be improved, especially in terms of variety and taste. Overall, a convenient stay with potential to be much better with some updates and upgrades.

I recently visited Ramada for their dinner buffet and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxing, making it a great place to unwind. The food was delicious with a good variety, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The service was also excellent – the staff were very kind, attentive, and welcoming. Overall, it was a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good buffet with a comfortable setting.

I have stayed at Ramada Colombo many times before, but my most recent experience was very disappointing. During my stay, I misplaced my reading glasses, which had sentimental value as they were a gift from my wife. I am certain they were left either in my room or at the restaurant. Despite informing the staff and even providing the exact time to check CCTV, no one made any real effort to help. I called several times afterward, but the response was careless and unprofessional. While I understand that belongings are my responsibility, a reputable hotel should still show concern and assist its guests—unfortunately, this was not the case. Housekeeping was also below standard. The room was not properly cleaned, and I was once served watermelon juice in a visibly dirty glass, which was unacceptable. Although a few staff members were helpful, overall service and management failed to meet expectations. Sadly, based on this experience, I cannot recommend Ramada Colombo anymore

so we went for hightea , The amount of food that was presented is insane for the price ... I love the waffle station plus the hopper station they were supper delicious.. There were several other options for beverages , you can make your self some tea or coffee with or without milk . even drinks like iced coffee and some fruit juice were available.. moreover there were Srilankan food meaning rotti, and curries along with rice and stuffs. we also had sushi , sandwiches and a bowl of fried rice with chicken ... There were soo many food I have listed only few of them ... you would also find varieties of deserts plus ice cream they tasted next level... overall I love the experience, The service was great and oh the ambience there was superb.

We are Platinum members of Wyndham Rewards. This is the 3rd time we are staying in this hotel using Rewards Points. Last stay was only a few days ago for two nights. We were given breakfast on both previous stays and while we were at breakfast today (22/8), we were informed by the Guest Relations Officer Madhavi that we are not entitled for breakfast as the hotel (not Wyndham) had changed the policy. When she was told that we were given breakfast when we stayed a few days ago, she said it was a decision taken about 3 days ago, which we do not believe. When I asked her if that is the situation why we were not informed at checking in she said it was a mistake and to compensate for that only the person under who’s name the booking was made, will be given complementary breakfast. This is a bloody joke as they expect one person to get complementary b’fast and the other person in the room who also happens to be a Platinum Wyndham member, to pay for the breakfast. Then when I said this is not what we have experienced in other countries, Madhavi said she will ask the Front Office Manager by the name of Nipun Thillakaratne. Later she called my mobile and said the same as before. I said I’m not willing to accept complementary breakfast for only me as that is discrimination. I then asked Madhavi to write down the names of those who were involved in this decision and also to mention that the hotel has made a decision not to provide complementary breakfast for Wyndham Rewards bookings. She said she has no authority to mention that but wrote the two names on a piece of paper. At this stage I asked her if she has authority only to tell that we are not entitled for complementary breakfast but it can’t be put in writing. This is the worst hotel in over 30 countries we have been to and this is going to be our last stay here. The front office personnel are not friendly at all and are least helpful. Same with the restaurant staff. We have to ask for serviettes, and water. They walk past the tables as if they are blind and dont see that we are waiting for water or a serviette. Wyndham members PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE MAKING RESERVATIONS IN THIS HOTEL. If you want to enjoy Sri Lankan hospitality go somewhere else. Now, I’m sure there will be a reply for this message from the hotel management with a load of bull crap. The picture is the piece of paper with the names written by Madhavi.

The hotel boasts a variety of rooms and suites, an acclaimed spa, two outdoor pools, a fitness center, and 14 dining venues including Lagoon, renowned for its seafood.
I recently had dinner at Plates Restaurant at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, and it was truly an outstanding experience from start to finish. The dinner buffet offered a remarkable variety of dishes from authentic Sri Lankan delicacies to a wide range of international cuisines. Each dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The seafood and grill sections were absolute highlights, with perfectly cooked dishes and a great selection of options. The live cooking stations added a lively touch, and the chefs were more than happy to cater to individual tastes. The dessert spread was equally impressive with everything from rich cakes to traditional sweets that made it hard to choose just one favorite! A special mention must go to the amazing staff who made the evening even more pleasant Mr. Chaminda, Lakshitha, Ayoma, and Chamodi. Their warm hospitality, attentiveness, and professionalism truly stood out. They ensured everything ran smoothly and made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the meal. We have stayed a week in this Hotel and had a lovely time. The food is of outstanding Quality. The staff are very attentive. The rooms are spacious with full air conditioning, but you can't open a window. The one thing that I didn't like was the Night club downstairs. Loud music until passed 12pm and longer at the weekend. If you value your sleep then this hotel is not for you ! The Music is so loud invibrates The windows 6 floors up. This kinda ruined my stay here.

The stay was very peaceful and relaxing, with their very comfortable beds. Also the staff was very supportive and courteous, and had created a separate "Indian Counter" after we had pre-emptively mailed them to keep vegitarian dishes separate. Mr. Gayan Peiris from the management was kind enough to take our suggestions in positive manner and the overall experience was very pleasing to elders and kids.

Taj Samudra in Colombo is a luxurious five-star hotel located near Galle Face Green, offering stunning views of the Indian Ocean. Set on 11 acres of lush gardens, this upmarket property features an outdoor pool, two lounges, and four dining options serving authentic international cuisines. With 300 luxurious rooms and suites, guests can enjoy top-notch amenities including conference halls, a fully equipped gym, and a historic Grand Crystal Ballroom dating back to the 1860s.
We had a truly fantastic stay at Taj Samudra, Colombo. What impressed us the most was the remarkable hospitality shown by the entire team. Due to some initial noise issues, the hotel proactively upgraded all our rooms, ensuring complete comfort for our family. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide spread and plenty of delicious vegetarian Indian options, which made us feel right at home. The views from the hotel are stunning, and having access to the Taj Lounge was an added highlight of our stay. A special appreciation to the Duty Manager, who was always approachable, responsive, and genuinely caring towards our requirements. Overall, Taj Samudra delivered the true Taj hospitality experience — warm, luxurious, and guest-first in every way. We would definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit to Colombo. 💐

The hotel’s ambiance is elegant and luxurious, offering a perfect blend of comfort and style. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and well-equipped with modern amenities. Waking up to the beautiful ocean view was a highlight of my trip. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, featuring a wide variety of fresh and delicious dishes to choose from. Specially the gobhi pratha served by chef Vipin. He did beyond the services. The location is ideal—situated right in front of the Galle Face, it offers easy access to scenic walks, shopping spots, and local attractions. The pool area and landscaped gardens were beautifully maintained, adding to the relaxing atmosphere. Overall, my experience at Taj Samudra exceeded expectations. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Colombo — whether for business, vacation, or a romantic getaway. I would definitely choose this hotel again! Thank you so much taj family.

The Taj Samudra is undoubtedly one of the best hotels in Colombo, offering the perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and warm hospitality. The location is simply unbeatable—right in front of the beach, with beautiful sea views and close access to the heart of the city. For Indian tourists, this hotel feels just like home. The food is excellent, with a wide range of Indian and vegetarian options, and even the breakfast reminds you of India with familiar tastes and flavors. Being a Taj property, the service and warmth towards guests are exceptional as always. A special thanks to Mrs. Dinusha Ranawaka for the room upgrade and for arranging a beautiful sea-view room on request. Her gesture made our stay even more memorable. Each and every staff member was humble, cooperative, and always ready to assist with a smile. One more thoughtful touch – the hotel even has a medicine shop inside for emergency needs, which is very convenient for travelers. Overall, Taj Samudra is the perfect choice for Indian travelers visiting Colombo – great location, delicious food, and the true spirit of Taj hospitality. Highly recommended for both leisure and business stays!

During our recent stay at the Taj Samudra Colombo from 11 to 15 October 2025, my family and I were accommodated in a Taj Club Suite. While our initial impression was one of disappointment — the suite felt dated compared to our previous experiences at other Taj properties, and certain practices did not meet our expectations — what truly stood out was the way in which the Taj team responded. The hallmark of Indian hospitality, particularly within the Taj Group, is their unwavering dedication to guest satisfaction, and this visit reaffirmed that reputation. Upon raising our concerns, the staff acted with remarkable speed, empathy, and professionalism to address them. We were immediately offered an exquisite room upgrade, a gesture we greatly appreciated, though we chose to remain in our suite due to the practicalities of moving with two young children. Determined to ensure we enjoyed the pinnacle of Taj hospitality, the team took several thoughtful steps. They offered assistance with our in-room consumables, and — understanding our children’s early sleeping schedule — they arranged for the hotel’s Chinese restaurant to open earlier than usual exclusively for us. The proactive engagement from the leadership team was exemplary: Front Office Manager Chaminda Dehiwatte maintained regular contact throughout our stay; Hotel Manager Karan Maini assured us that every effort would be made to enhance our experience; and Area Director Samrat Datta personally met with us, listened attentively to our feedback, and ensured the remainder of our visit was comfortable and memorable. Even at departure, their hospitality shone through, as they arranged a private car to take us to the airport, guaranteeing a smooth and safe journey. What began as a stay with a few disappointments evolved into a reaffirmation of the Taj Group’s ethos — that guests’ needs are paramount and every effort will be made to exceed expectations. Under the guidance of Mr. Datta, the Taj Samudra clearly embodies this philosophy, and it is this service standard that will keep the Taj brand at the forefront of luxury hospitality.

We had a mixed experience during our stay. The ocean-view room was lovely, check-in was smooth, and room service was excellent. However, the in-dining breakfast experience was disappointing. The buffet options were boring and some items, like the sausages, were almost inedible. While they did offer live counters for dosa, omelets, and waffles, most of the time the staff forgot to bring the items to our table even after taking our order and table number. Over our 5-day stay, this happened repeatedly, leaving us waiting and often losing our appetite.: Traveling with our 2.5-year-old was also a challenge, as the hotel had nothing to offer for children—no play area, no activities, not even simple things like coloring materials. Compared to other 5-star properties that make families feel welcome, this was quite disappointing. Additionally, the hotel seems designed primarily for businessmen. For example, there was no power outlet near the mirror for hair styling—only a socket clearly mentioned for men’s trimmers. If the hotel is truly intended just for business men , they should not accept family bookings at all, It felt like the needs of women and families were overlooked. Overall, good experience. But a little more attention to details would have been even more better.
Rebecca — Google review
We stayed at Taj Samudra twice within a week on two separate occasions, and both experiences were wonderful. The service was exceptional — warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. The hotel, though an older property with incredible charm and a beautiful sense of history, is beginning to show signs of age and could benefit from some attention to detail and upkeep. That said, its grand spaces, lush gardens, and serene walking areas make it truly special. Dinner at Golden Dragon was excellent — the Chinese food was authentic and full of flavour. The swimming pool and health club are also great, adding to the overall experience. Despite a few signs of wear, the hospitality and warmth of the staff make Taj Samudra a memorable and delightful place to stay in Colombo. I will be back for sure.

We had the most amazing time here. Staff is friendly and super welcoming, we spent loooots of time talking with everyone as they all gave us recommendations on what to do and where to go. Chaminda at breakfast showed us the best app to check trains in Sri Lanka. Our room was facing the ocean which was amazing, especially at sunset. We had the club lounge access and Amar was kind enough to make special drinks for us. The room is spacious and comfortable, massive bathroom with a bathtub and shower. We tried all the restaurants on sites and wooow, all delicious, Japanese was our favourite tho. Thank you so much for having us, we’ll be back for sure 🥰

Very comfortable and pleasant stay I got my room upgraded to Taj Club, and it was very comfortable and spacious to stay with kids. Comfortable room and very pleasant stay. Food is really good and freshly made. Very relaxed atmosphere in the hotel. Check in and check out was very smooth. Down side: It was an open parking under the huge trees 🌳. So my car was filled with lots of fall over leaves and bird feces. I stayed 3 nights and I had to clean my car myself every day morning before taking it out.

Galle Face Hotel is a luxurious 4-star hotel located in Colombo, offering modern amenities while still retaining its old colonial charm. It's conveniently situated just south of the city center and provides easy access to various attractions. The hotel has hosted numerous famous guests over the years and offers a unique evening experience with sunset cocktails on the Chequerboard lawn terrace, accompanied by a bagpiper serenading the flag-lowering ritual.
Lovely hotel. I didn't actually stay here. I just came for the buffet which was amazing. Wide range of breakfast items to choose from. Food that's actually thoroughly cooked AND hot. Also, pork! Delicious pork in different varieties! Pork, pastries and a full café selection! Absolutely wonderful. The staff were exceedingly courteous and professional. I was made to feel welcome; treated with dignity and respect. Much appreciated. Thank you for having me!

Galle face hotel is all about history, colonial charm, and one of the best location in Colombo! The service there is excellent, staff are well trained. The entire property is very well kept, every part is history. It is directly facing the Indian ocean, watching sunsets and sipping a cool drink by kbe of their bars is a must do! This is part of what makes fond memories of Colombo. Let's talk about the room. I have one of those standard room, which is a bit further away from the main foyer. But good thing is, it is closer to the restaurant that serves buffet (excellent btw). Because it's an old property, many parts are made of wood, floor creaks when u walk even window frames are made of wood. The window didn't cut out much noise from the ocean waves and the band playing until around midnight. The electric plugs are old, some of the cables of the lights are torn and pose great risks. The hot water system is intermittent, hot and cold randomly. In my opinion, this part of the property really could do with a make over and modernization. But the room rate is very reasonable. So, all in all, it isn't a bad experience at all. I recommend to anyone to stay here once, to get that experience of staying at a charming iconic hotel.

We stayed two nights here. Staffs are very friendly and assist with everything. The location is very good. We had high tea at their restaurant it was really good. Generally food is very good. You get historical old world experience there. The museum and the history of the place is interesting. I give 4 stars because the place has a bit of smell and lot of moisture. Floors are very slippery we had to be very careful when we walk on them. I will definitely recommend this place.

Colonial looking hotel with a great pool. They have few restaurants to choose from and very tasty. Good selection of drinks. Really good location and we walked all around the hotel in Colombo. Staff are very helpful and friendly. They have an inhouse spa and a salon too.

I visited there for the boxing day High-tea with my friends. The galle face sea view as we all know is breathtaking. The food was good. The buns were a little dry however there wasn’t any other dishes disappointing us. This is one of the oldest five-star hotels in Colombo. I have been there for Lunch buffet as well. Would rate it 4/5 overall

Great hotel with good customer service. Starting from the doorman, cleaner to the guest relations executive, the care and personal touch is noteworthy. I have given a detailed response to TripAdvisor Google review about the staff. Wishing them a great carrier ahead in the industry. Appreciate guest relations Executive Ivoni for being attentive to detail. Touched us very much 🙏❤️

The Galle Face Hotel in Colombo, Sri Lanka, opened in 1864, evolving from a Dutch villa into a world-renowned luxury hotel. Built by four British entrepreneurs and named after the Galle Face Green it overlooks, this historic landmark has welcomed many iconic figures over the years — from politicians like Richard Nixon and Indira Gandhi to artists such as Arthur C. Clarke and Harrison Ford. The hotel’s timeless Victorian-era architecture and colonial charm have been carefully preserved through extensive restorations, including a major renovation of the South Wing in 2006, blending heritage with modern comfort. Everything about this place feels exceptional — the food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the architecture is simply stunning. It’s easily accessible from the main road, with secure parking available. The atmosphere attracts both locals and foreigners alike, and the rates are quite reasonable considering the premium experience you get. Truly a must-visit gem in Colombo.

One of the best restaurants in Colombo, offering a fantastic dining experience. The ambiance is excellent, the service is top-notch, and the food is absolutely delicious. Their local dishes are a highlight and a must-try for anyone seeking authentic flavors. The unlimited fresh fruit juice, especially during breakfast, is a delight for juice lovers. The staff is attentive and goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Colombo!

Had lunch at this buffet, and they offer a wide international selection, including Asian cuisine, a sushi bar, and a good range of desserts. The variety was great, but the taste was just average —not bad, but nothing outstanding either except their baked fish and the mongolian rice which was really good. The sushi bar was a nice touch, and the dessert selection had plenty of options to try. Overall, it's decent if you're looking for variety, but if you're after exceptional flavors, it might not fully deliver. Friendly staff too.

We had a truly delightful experience at Flow. The atmosphere was calm and not overly crowded which helped us to enjoy our time comfortably. The buffet offered variety of dishes with the Indian corner, sushi selection, and desserts standing out as more flavorful. The dumplings and steamed seafood were a bit mild for my personal taste. the overall quality and presentation of the food were great. A special mention goes to the team for arranging a birthday cake upon our request which added a thoughtful touch to our celebration. We are grateful for the warm service and would certainly recommend Flow for a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience.

An excellent experience...buffet with pool access and unlimited beer and coffee/juice etc. The best thing about it is that you can eat, swim, then go back and eat some more, then swim again, and keep drinking beer. The staff is super nice and treats you like star customers with unlimited access to the pool and buffet... This is very different from places where there is a sense that you can only dine once. The changing rooms are also comfy, with clean towels available at all times. We went with with a few families and kids and really got our money's worth. They're is also a live band. This was on a Sunday, so am not sure when else this is on. Around 7.5k per head. Excellent value for money. Food: decent selection though the sushi was a little dry, but overall, very nice for the price and facilities.

Food is really tasty. You have enough space and the atmosphere is welcoming. ♥️ If you need a separate area, you have the option to reserve likewise. But there’s a less number of varieties in the buffet. Only one type of soup and a less number of dishes. But the food is delicious and there’s a good variety of desserts including ice cream and a couple of cake varieties too.

The restaurant boasts an extensive international buffet featuring a variety of delicacies such as appetizers, salads, tandoori specialties, freshly prepared pasta, and succulent carvings. Guests can indulge in a diverse range of cuisines including Western, Indian, Japanese, and South East Asian dishes that are expertly cooked to perfection.
I had the pleasure of trying the lunch buffet at Kingsbury, and I must say it’s one of the best I’ve experienced. The service is outstanding—staff are attentive, friendly, and ensure you feel well taken care of throughout. The variety of dishes is truly impressive, offering a wide selection to satisfy every taste. From appetizers to desserts, everything is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. A perfect spot for anyone who enjoys a top-notch dining experience. Highly recommended!

I had lunch at this buffet recently and wow—really good good food all around! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared, but I have to give a special shoutout to the Japanese section. That area was easily the highlight for me. They had a great selection of sushi, sashimi, and even some freshly made tempura. The quality was impressive for a buffet—fresh cuts, great flavor, and beautifully presented. Honestly, I kept going back for more from that section. You can tell they put effort into making it feel like a mini Japanese dining experience. Overall, the whole buffet was worth it, but if you’re a fan of Japanese food, this place is going to win you over. I’ll definitely be back! We were a group of 15 adults and Amaya was really helpful for us as well.

Harbour Court is the all day dining restaurant at the Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo. I had a buffet lunch at this restaurant recently, and the experience was amazing. They have an excellent spread of foods and almost all the items I tasted were delicious. They have many options such as: Local Srilankan, Indian, Thai/Chinese, Western, Sushis etc. They also have a great selection of breads, cheeses, salads, dry fruits and more. They have live pizza and pasta station where you can choose what you want in your pasta. They also have live stir fry noodles and live chicken soup noodles station. The Chinese soup noodle was very bland although they used lots of spices. Lastly they have a good selection of desserts but I didn’t have much space left in my tummy after all the other foods 😬

I recently had my birthday dinner at this restaurant located within the Kingsbury hotel. My husband surprised me with a cake at the dinner. He had requested a birthday cake from the staff and they were incredibly attentive and brought it to the table just in time for the celebration. They had arranged it quickly with a short notice. I’ve visited this restaurant a few times with my parents also and they always have a wonderful time. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is simply lovely. They have many varieties of food in the buffet. I highly recommend this place.

A Wonderful Anniversary Lunch at Harbour Court, Kingsbury! We visited Harbour Court to celebrate our one-month wedding anniversary over lunch, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and elegant, with lovely decor and a pleasant ocean view that made the afternoon feel extra special. The buffet spread was outstanding from fresh seafood and sushi to flavorful international dishes and perfectly cooked meats. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. The dessert section was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive, making us feel truly welcome. A special thanks to the chefs at the live stations for their great work! The only small issue was that our table was placed near the entrance, which made it a bit disturbing at times. Other than that, everything was perfect a wonderful place to celebrate a special moment. Highly recommended!

Recently visited The Kingsbury (Harbour court) in Colombo for their lunch buffet, and it was a pleasant dining experience overall. The restaurant had a sophisticated and elegant atmosphere, with attentive staff and a clean, well-arranged buffet layout that gave a good first impression. The selection of dishes was decent, though not as extensive as I expected from a high-end buffet. There was a fair mix of Sri Lankan and international options, but I felt there could have been more variety, especially in the main course section. In terms of taste, the meals were generally good, but I did notice that some of the seafood items, particularly the prawns and fish, had a slightly raw taste and salty than usual, which took away from the enjoyment. It may have been a matter of personal preference or preparation style, but it stood out compared to the rest of the meal. Other dishes like the rice, curries, salads, and desserts were satisfying, and the presentation of food was impressive. Despite a few shortcomings, it was still a decent buffet experience overall.

We went for the Easter Brunch at The Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo, and it was absolutely fantastic! The spread had a perfect combination of dishes, beautifully presented with an Easter-themed touch. There was even an adorable Easter Bunny making the rounds, adding a fun and festive vibe to the whole experience. The meat items were cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor, and the dessert corner was truly to die for from rich, decadent cakes to delicate pastries, each bite felt indulgent. Seafood lovers were spoiled for choice with a wide variety of fresh seafood that The Kingsbury never fails to deliver on. The presentation and quality were top-notch, and the staff made sure everyone felt welcome and well taken care of. Overall, it was a wonderful festive dining experience, combining a lively atmosphere, attentive service, and a buffet that impressed in every way. Definitely worth marking on the calendar for next Easter! 🐰

A well done offer... went recently (August 2025) to harbour court, a restaurant in Kingsbury Hotel 🏨 for the buffet. It's was a 25% discount offer for the buffet..... International Buffet. Paid Rs. 4500/= per person due to HSBC card. (had to pay Rs. 4875/= otherwise) Nice varieties of foods and desserts. 3 types of pizzas 🍕 and ate some sushi too (Ebi maki - prawn sushi). The layout of the bread and buns were truly satisfying and didn't know what to choose. Live stations were like 👍 👌. THE STAFF were amazing and the chefs were truly professional and helpful. They assisted in a very polite manner. The 'Thai chicken red curry' was just wow, the 'Brownies' from the dessert corner and there's something from some corner that wants you to go back to Kingsbury Hotel 🏨 - Harbour Court.... Yes, visit them. The promotion is on for the whole month of August 2025. Worth it. Had no regrets. Went because its Kingsbury and truly no regrets. Atmosphere - wow but massive crowd due to the promotion... Quite worth it... 👌 👏 😌 Happy with the price and satisfied with the international buffet. Halaal 💯 meats (chicken, beef, lamb) & seafood available... Vegetarian options too available... like hummus ...just yum 😋 😋 😋 Parking available. Wheelchair accessible. Child friendly. Accepts cards and cash. (Please take a look at my pics & video guys)

The Lagoon at Cinnamon Grand is hands down one of the best places in Colombo for seafood lovers. The selection of fresh seafood on display is simply outstanding, and you get to choose exactly what you want and how you want it prepared. The baked crab was absolutely amazing, bursting with flavor, and the oysters with cheese were nothing short of heavenly. Almost everything is priced per 100 grams, so it can be a little on the pricey side, but for the quality, taste, and overall experience, it’s worth indulging in once in a while. A must-visit if you’re craving top-notch seafood in the city!

The Lagoon is a wonderful experience! It’s expensive but worth treating yourself at least once. The food is fresh and flavorful and I love that you can choose your protein before it is prepared. You can also choose how it is prepared (i.e.: grilled, steamed, fried etc) and you can choose the sauce it’s prepared in. The staff is so friendly and helpful and they are great about giving suggestions. The sides are all delicious as are the drinks - you cannot go wrong no matter what you choose. I wish I knew everyone’s names because they are all so friendly but our last waiter was Priyanga and he was a lot of fun! Truly a 5 star experience!

The Lagoon – A Must-Visit for Seafood Lovers in Colombo Located inside the Cinnamon Grand Colombo, The Lagoon is tucked away just past the right side of “Chutneys” (formerly “Cares”)—step out into the garden area and head down to find the entrance. This elegant seafood restaurant offers a wide and fresh selection of fish, shellfish, and crustaceans. The unique part? You choose exactly what you want from the display—prawns, lobsters, crab, tuna, cuttlefish, and more—along with your preferred cooking style (grilled, fried, steamed, curried, etc.) and sauce or seasoning. Prices are very reasonable for the quality: most items are priced per 100 grams, generally between 2,000–3,000 LKR depending on the type. The staff are exceptionally professional and attentive, helping with recommendations and making sure your experience is smooth from start to finish. The setting is refined yet relaxed, making it perfect for both casual seafood feasts and special evenings out. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a premium seafood experience in Colombo.

I came to The Lagoon as a group , collectively we ordered sautéed scallops , crab claws , sesame prawns , white curry with fish, thick coconut gravy with cuttlefish , fenugreek curry with prawns , fried rice , fried noodles , wok fried veg, Thai omlette and roast paan. The scallops and curries were all delicious along with the fried rice . The roast paan was rock solid and the crab claws and sesame prawns are okay. The cocktails I tried were nice but they did get the order wrong . Also when receiving the bill, they had accidentally added another tables order into our bill which we then rectified.

What a lively and lovely spread of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. At SLR 1999 it is a good deal and something that every traveller should experience. The place is well designed and quite spacious but the aircon was little less given the food we were thriving on. Located on the fourth floor and we had gone in a group of about 20 friends. I enjoyed the crab where as several others enjoyed the appams and fish and chicken curry. Food is very tasty and hygienic. Liquor is not served here. Try it and i am sure you will love this place.

Used to be good before but from my yesterdays (23/06/2019) visit The place was very bad from the food to all the rest. No Mutton only chicken fish and crab They have reduced the price from 2000/= to 1850/= Also no TEA or COFFEE Next earlier they gave free parking facilities but not now So going there for lunch or dinner is not worth........ Food is not tasty as it used to be........

A good introduction to Sri Lankan food as you get to try a little bit of everything. Each dish packs a punch- my personal favourites were the mango curry and crab. The egg hoppers had a nice flavour, but the downside is that they are served cold. Would be a massive improvement if they could have a chef make it at a live counter. Food aside, the restaurant has probably seen better days. It was practically empty when I went for lunch on a Saturday. Several dishes were missing serving spoons and labels. Not a major problem, but shows you that they don't really bother much with keeping up appearances.

"The Dining Room" is a glass-walled restaurant located in the lobby of the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel. It offers buffet-style meals with a wide variety of items for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including a curry corner. The food is plentiful and of high quality, catering to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The restaurant tends to be busy due to its popularity but provides reasonably efficient service.
I’ve dined at this restaurant’s lunch buffet three times now, and while my first two visits were average, my most recent experience was absolutely outstanding so much so that I had to write this review! The Japanese sushi corner was a highlight, offering an impressive variety that felt fresh and authentic. The live meat stations were fantastic, with perfectly cooked options like pork, lamb, chicken, beef, and mutton. Every dish I tried was flavorful and cooked to perfection. On top of that, the buffet had a wide range of live stations, including a salad bar, kebab corner, pizza station, and even a Sri Lankan curry section that stood out for its rich and bold flavors. The dessert section was equally impressive, with plenty of options to satisfy anyone’s sweet tooth. Overall, this lunch buffet exceeded all expectations, and I left feeling completely satisfied. Highly recommend checking it out especially if you’re a fan of diverse and delicious food options!

We went for the Thursday buffet and the Cinnamon chain did not disappoint us as always. The spread was super rich with all sort of cousins one would exepect to taste from a star class buffet. Salad station and the sushi corner were our favorites..They had all sorts of sea food, even clams. Meat varieties including chicken, pork, beef and lamb. Indian, Japanese, Srilankan and Korean food were available. Staff is top rated and handled my reservation with professionalism and courtesy. The serving staff who were there at the buffets also were such dears and catered all our requirements.Yohan and Kavinda must to be mentioned for there superb service. Atmosphere was warm and welcoming. It was crowded since all the tables were reserved but the crowd didnt ruin our experience . Only negative point to be mentioned is though they have labled the night as "Korean Buffet" we didnt taste authentic Korean taste from any of the dishes presented. And it is not a Korean buffet if you dont have Korean barbecue and their rice cakes. Apart for that everything is just up to the standards. Keep up

Ports of Call is a Japanese and seafood restaurant located in Colombo, offering an extensive selection of sushi and sashimi. The restaurant prides itself on serving fresh seafood with a variety of flavorful sauces. In addition to their sushi and sashimi offerings, Ports of Call also provides a buffet featuring global cuisines for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This makes it an ideal destination for those who appreciate Japanese cuisine or have a love for seafood.
I attended a buffet lunch at a workshop here in August 2024. It was really good. Their desserts were very delicious, especially the strawberry 🍓 panna cotta and chocolate mousse. When it comes to the food, everything was tasty, particularly the salad with various ham slices. The cheese 🧀 was of good quality, and the lentil soup 🥣 was superb.

Went for an dinner buffet. They have limited food varieties for rs7700 per person. Pumpkin soup not worth at all. They have the traditional srilankan curries in the clay pots then the only one type of rice and noodles available. Egg string hopper is tasty. Desserts are delicious. Superb atmosphere to have dinner

We were here for a business meeting. Food was good, but some items (pineapple strudel) felt stale. Service was good, and it was not crowded.

Myself and my partner chose a late night visit to Ports of Call, to end a long, wet and busy day and we are so glad that we ended our night at such a wonderful restaurant/buffet. We decided to go with the Al a carte menu and it didn't disappoint. We could have chosen anything from that menu, each option sounded exactly what we needed and all at a very reasonable price. As it was getting late we only opted for a burger and lasagna. To our surprise we were offered a complimentary cream of chicken soup and bread rolls for starters by our wonderful and attentive waiter "Oshan". He was so kind and helpful, giving us time to decide what to eat and also providing suggestions, he also made sure to not seem overbearing. The service is exactly what you expect from a place like this. We were left really impressed and happy. The food was lovely, really well done and well presented and the ambience was calm/relaxing. We could have stayed there for many hours, in fact when we did decide to leave we were then offered a little chocolate treat as a way of thank you for dining with them. I can honestly see why Ports of Call gets such great reviews, I really cannot fault anything about this resturant/buffet. We will most definitely return, in fact we mean to as soon as possible.

Marino Beach Colombo is a contemporary hotel that offers relaxed accommodations with balconies and stunning sea views. The hotel boasts a rooftop pool with panoramic views of the coast, as well as entertainment options such as virtual reality centers and bars. It's not just a place to stay; it's an experience hub offering spa facilities, shops, and a 9D cinema. Families and adventure seekers will find it to be the perfect getaway.
I recently visited this place and had a wonderful experience. The food was extremely tasty — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Every dish I tried was delicious and exceeded my expectations. The customer service was excellent, with staff who were polite, friendly, and attentive to every detail. The cleanliness of the restaurant was impressive, and the overall hygiene was very well maintained. It felt comfortable and welcoming from the moment I walked in. I truly appreciate the care and effort the team puts into providing both great food and great service. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

We visited Marion Beach Hotel on 15 September 2025 for their dinner buffet to celebrate my birthday. The buffet was priced at Rs. 5,700 per person, which felt fair compared to high-end buffets in Colombo. The atmosphere was relaxed with no strict dress code, so guests could dine comfortably even in casual wear. The welcome was warm, and we were escorted to our table by a friendly hostess. Seating indoors turned out to be a good choice as the outdoor area got disrupted by rain. The buffet spread was good, starting with a light vegetable soup that I believe was pumpkin and ginger. The starters were nicely presented, but not all were labelled, which can be risky for people with allergies. Clear and consistent labelling would be a big improvement. The main courses were tasty, and staff were polite, though they seemed short-staffed as we had to ask for water refills. The one real disappointment was that my wife had arranged a birthday cake in advance, even agreeing to pay extra, but it was never served or mentioned. For a special occasion, a simple gesture like this can go a long way in creating lasting goodwill. Overall, Marion Beach Hotel offers a reasonably priced buffet with good food and friendly service. We left satisfied, but with the hope that the hotel pays attention to small details that can turn a good dining experience into an unforgettable one.

I have been a Diamond member for a while and have travelled for business and leisure to various Hilton properties abroad. When considering where to stay while on vacation for a month here in Sri Lanka, I wanted to begin our journey right, so decided to book at the Colombo Residences location(as similar to Homewood Suites, they have condo suite style layouts). I couldn't have been more right(and happy) about expecting an awesome experience since Hilton locations have always had a special home away from home comfort while travelling. And this location exceeded all expectations by an immeasurable amount. From the moment I checked in, the evening front desk staff were so kind and warm with their hospitality. As I had Diamond status, I received a very quick and efficient complimentary upgrade to an executive suite on a high floor with possibly the most amazing view of the Lotus Tower. The accommodations were incredibly spacious, modern and comfortable. We also had the opportunity to dine at the hotel restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner over the course of our stay, as the consistency of the exemplary service continued there as well. Extraordinarily kind and knowledgeable staff combined with a diverse variety of quality(sincere compliments to the various Chefs and attendants) food choices across various times of the day, led to a delicious experience. The overall stay reinforced a sense of comfort and safety as well, because the location is extremely secure. It cannot be stated enough how amazing the entire host of various staff members at this location are. Their kindness, friendliness, hospitality and efficiency were incredible to witness. We have already booked and are definitely looking forward to our next multiple day stays at the Hilton Colombo Residences. If you are visiting or traveling through the city, this location is highly recommended, as it checks off all the highest standards of a luxurious Hilton stay, as our stay was beyond perfect.

Overall 5 stars for our stay. The food (breakfast buffet and dinner buffet superb with lots of options and super friendly staff). Check in very smooth (we arrived at 4am so booked the night before). 30m long pool with many lanes and kiddy pools with playground lots of fun for the kids. Also a steam room, Finnish sauna, and jacuzzi inside the gym area. We had a 3 bedroom apartment which had a king bed, a queen bed, and 2 twins. The living room had a regular non fold out sofa. Also 2 full baths, a big kitchen and washer/dryer. The rooms are getting slightly dated but nothing to complain about - everything was clean and the entire stay was good. Thanks 🙏

I'd been for a lunch buffet with my family on the 8th of May and was quite disappointed with the food and the variety offered. My husband tasted the seafood mix and developed an allergy which led to severe itching on the whole body and had to see a doctor that evening.😔 He's not allergic to sea food. I think it was old because the colour wasn't normal. I've been to many hotels and never experienced any issues of this kind. I hope the hotel management will look into this and do the needful. Everyone pays a price to not only have something fresh, flavourful and delicious but for the experience as well!!! Regret choosing this restaurant, especially on a child's birthday!! 😔

We went for high tea and it cost around 4k per person. Duration is from 3pm to 5pm. The pancakes / waffles / savory items were really good. Could improve on the dessert and sandwich items. There was also good live music being played.

We went for the lunch buffet, and it was really great. The number of food choices was quite good for both desserts, mains, and side dishes. It felt worth the price. Additionally, the service was good. The staff kept refilling our water glasses even unasked, and when we asked for more cutlery we were given them promptly. The view was also amazing, and I'd probably visit again. It became a bit crowded towards around 1:30-2:00 PM, so it was a bit difficult to navigate around the place without accidentally bumping into people especially unsupervised small children, but that was not much of a problem unless you wanted to refill your plate. The food at the buffet was also promptly refilled when it was running out.

The restaurant features an extensive selection of South Indian dishes from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. Each state has separate options for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals.

Chutneys, nestled within Cinnamon Grand in Colombo 03, is a delightful South Indian restaurant that promises a culinary journey through Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. The extensive menu offers a rich tapestry of flavors, each dish crafted to perfection. What truly sets Chutneys apart is the expertise of their Indian chef, whose touch adds an authentic charm to every bite. Prepare to be amazed as you savor the essence of South Indian cuisine in every delectable dish. Our dining experience at Chutneys was off to a great start with the Ulndu Wade, served with two flavorful chutneys. With just three pieces, it left us craving for more! Priced at LKR 1,080, it was worth every penny for the amazing taste it offered. For beverages, we tried the refreshing Tamarind Juice, or "Panakam," which was simply delightful. With the subtle sweetness of jaggery, it was a perfect accompaniment to our meal, priced at only LKR 850. This is a must try. We also indulged in the pure Ginger Juice, known as "Inji Chaaru," priced similarly at LKR 850. It had a comforting, homemade feel to it, leaving us thoroughly satisfied. For mains, we ordered a non-veg Dosai Thali came with two masala dosais and one paper dosai and 12 or 13 curries. i remember it had mutton curry, chicken curry, carrot halwa and so many more. i would say, if you are an average eater, that portion would be suffice for two people. it was priced at LKR 2,480/-. Highly recommended. We opted for the Paratha portion, which included three delicious layered parathas, priced at LKR 1,080. Each paratha was perfectly cooked, with layers that added to its texture and taste. To complement the parathas, we ordered the Andhra style Prawn curry, also known as "Royyilu Iguru," priced at LKR 2,280. The curry was an absolute delight, bursting with flavors and generously filled with succulent prawns. It was a truly satisfying culinary experience! After indulging in the delightful dishes mentioned above, we found ourselves pleasantly full and unfortunately couldn't explore the dessert menu. When the bill arrived, including service charges and taxes, the total came to about LKR 11,584. Considering the quality of food, service, and overall experience, we felt it was well worth the money spent. The restaurant emanates an authentic Indian vibe with its serene and peaceful ambiance. It's an ideal spot for family or group outings, as the seating arrangements provide a sense of privacy for each group. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend it.

Tasty food. Prawn biriyani was amazing. Had a generous amount of nicely cooked prawns packed into the biriyani. A must try dish. Non - veg thaali is also had a unique taste from bite to bite.... Had different curries with different taste which made the thalli really interesting. Food is not heavy as they had rasam and other spices used in the cooking. And they serve the thaali with a little dessert which is suuuper delicious. The milk and sago pudding like thing is heavenly. And the pineapple and tamarind juice is also a great combination for the food we ordered. Order the tamarind and ginger juice if u like the taste of tamarind. Overall nice setting with a good service and definitely a good option for group outings.

From the moment you step in, you are transported into a beautiful oasis tucked away from the city’s hustle — a perfect blend of rustic charm and genuine Sri Lankan hospitality. The food is nothing short of spectacular. Every dish is bursting with rich, traditional flavors, crafted with care and using the finest local ingredients. Whether it’s the fragrant rice and curry, the mouthwatering seafood, or the expertly spiced sambols, each bite offers a true taste of Sri Lanka’s culinary heritage. And the cocktails? Absolutely next level — creative, refreshing, and perfectly complementing the bold flavors of the food. The atmosphere under the massive old banyan tree (“Nuga” in Sinhala) adds a magical touch, making it feel like you’re dining in a serene village garden. It’s cozy, welcoming, and full of authentic character. Nuga Gama isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience. If you love great food, a warm ambiance, and a genuine connection to Sri Lanka’s rich culture, you simply cannot miss this place.

A wonderful place to bring foreign delegates to experience authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. The traditional dances and songs add a special cultural touch that guests truly enjoy. The fruit section is impressive, with local favorites like wood apple, passion fruit, star fruit, veralu, gaduguda, mangosteen, jambu, rambutan, and more. The crab and mutton delicacies are also highly recommended!

Will I visit again? 100% yes! This was my second time here—I had visited earlier, pre-COVID. The food is great, though the spice level ranges from medium to hot, so you'll need to choose dishes accordingly. I really enjoyed the live counter serving egg appams, along with the other local dishes I tried. I was especially keen to explore authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, and it did not disappoint! The evening was made even more special with live singing, followed by an impressive fire show and a cultural dance performance. It all contributed to a truly memorable experience. The dessert counter was another highlight, offering a wide selection of Sri Lankan sweets to sample and enjoy.

Kudos to the chefs. Surely our best meal throughout our trip to Sri Lanka. Some a bit spicy but worth a sweat Buffet style at 6000 rupees per pax. Also has local cultural live entertainment When using maps enter in Cinnamon Grand Hotel Lobby as your destination as thats the only entrance otherwise its easy to get a bit lost if following a GPS pin.

I recently visited Cinnamon Nuga Gama for dinner and had a pleasant experience overall. The restaurant has a unique and charming village-style setting, offering a traditional Sri Lankan ambiance right in the heart of the city. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and courteous throughout the evening. One of the standout highlights of the visit was the Sri Lankan cooked curry corner, which was exceptional. The variety of authentic curries, freshly made with bold spices and rich flavors, truly brought out the best of local cuisine. It was evident that a lot of care and tradition went into preparing these dishes, and they certainly did not disappoint. However, some of the other sections of the buffet did not quite meet expectations. While the food was decent, it lacked the same level of flavor and authenticity found in the curry section. There’s definitely room for improvement in terms of taste and variety in those areas. The cultural segments, including a few local performances and traditional elements, added a nice touch to the overall experience, enhancing the Sri Lankan village feel. In summary, it was a good dining experience, especially for those looking to explore authentic Sri Lankan cuisine in a rustic, relaxed setting.

As someone who lives and breathes Sri Lankan cuisine, I walked into Nuga Gama with my expectations set high. The atmosphere? Breathtaking. The warmth and hospitality of the staff? Absolutely godlike. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel right at home — and for that alone, the team deserves the highest praise. When it came to the food itself, however — while it faithfully echoed the comfort of a traditional Sri Lankan home (which is exactly what many tourists come for) — I couldn’t help but feel something was missing. That spark. That surprise. That evolution. As a long-time fan of Cinnamon properties, Nuga Gama has been on my bucket list for ages. But I kept wondering: why hasn’t modern creativity been allowed to flow here? Why not elevate our beloved dishes without losing their soul? There’s so much potential to reimagine heritage flavors through thoughtful fusion — drawing from authentic local ingredients and turning them into something bold, exciting, and uniquely Sri Lankan. A celebration of our roots and our future. I’m not talking profit margins here — this is a five-star hotel. The infrastructure exists. The opportunity is there. For first-timers and tourists, Nuga Gama remains a five-star experience. But in today’s landscape, where Gen Z drives curiosity, influence, and even family outings, the lack of culinary innovation might miss a golden opportunity. Personally, I was content. But that signature wow I’ve felt in other Cinnamon dining spaces? It just didn’t echo here. Still — massive kudos to the genuinely wonderful staff and gracious service team. You were the soul of the experience. And to the chefs: there’s so much room to rise, evolve, and truly inspire. Would I visit again? Absolutely. But next time, I hope to taste something familiar… with a twist I never saw coming.

Went a couple days ago and wow this has become our favourite restaurant in the WORLD. A buffet but every dish is cooked to perfection. Desserts too? We’ve never felt so stuffed on quality in our lives. Can’t even start on what to get because we loved everything!!! Options included every curry you could want, hoppers on demand, a fresh cut of meat (pork belly was when we went). Fried food too and salad options galore. Dessert options included cakes, baked goods, fresh fruit, sweets even. What on earth is this restaurant?!? Oh yeah and staff and atmosphere is incredible. Live music and a fire juggling act ?!? We got served free tea from Milan! What a lovely gentlemen. Before we go back to England were definitely coming again!

The restaurant is a must go when in Sri Lanka. Located inside Cinnamon Grand, it is yet a place that feels away from the city truly back to roots. The service is great, specially with their staff Induwara Wasalage Yohan Kanishka ….the hospitality is at its best. The music is cherry on top. Specially when they played Hindi Bollywood. Thanks Nuga Gama. From - India. Charges: it was around 2000-2500 INR without drinks per person.

The Barnesbury was a great place to dine-in at. It had a great ambiance and a good interior. The staff were friendly, prompt and courteous. The place was spacious with enough privacy and the food was tasty. Especially enjoyed their The Barnesbury Special Cilli Prawn Pasta and their Mocha Frappe. We had a mini birthday celebration there and had a cake delivered to our table by the staff and were able to get some good photographs with the aesthetic background in view. All in all, it was a great place. We went around 11 am on a less busy weekend so we sort of had the whole place to ourselves which was fantastic. Plus they have a well kept garden outside with a good view! Totally recommend the place for a private outing especially for a mini celebration with your loved ones.

I recently visited The Barnesbury for lunch with a friend, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad along with an iced Americano, while my friend had the shrimp pasta in pink sauce paired with a berry punch. The food was nicely prepared fresh, flavorful, and satisfying without being overly heavy. The ambiance, while clean and well-kept, felt a little isolated perhaps better suited for those looking for a quieter spot. On the plus side, the staff were attentive and friendly throughout our meal, which added a warm touch to the experience. If you're looking for good food and considerate service in a more low key setting, The Barnesbury is worth checking out.

My boyfriend ordered the crispy chicken and fries dish, and I swear if love at first bite was a thing, this was it. That chicken? Crispy like it trained in martial arts. Juicy like it had been blessed by the poultry gods themselves. And the presentation? Excellent! We lowkey annoyed the staff (okay, maybe highkey) because we were indecisive gremlins who couldn't pick between half the menu. But the person who took our order? Absolute legend. Patient, helpful, and a total gem even though he had every right to throw a menu at us. Would I eat it again? Yes. Would I marry it? Possibly. Would I recommend it? Only if you’re ready to be forever disappointed by all other fried foods. 10/10 would annoy the staff again for another round.

I thought the vibe was great. With board games and a calm, kid friendly atmosphere, the ambiance is wonderful. The antique furnishings and lighting create a special appeal. Although a bit pricey, the meal is great. It's a pleasant, serene atmosphere. Excellent for workspaces; they offer free wifi. A pleasant spot to chill out, even by yourself. They also have a lovely garden and outside seating. The service was quick and excellent, but please don't stare at your customers; instead, allow them some privacy. It makes embarrass us and they just wanted to clean the table quickly

Located in Colombo 07, Indian Summer Restaurant is one of three establishments in the country. The restaurant boasts themed interiors and a private dining area for small gatherings. Its extensive menu features popular North Indian dishes and sweets, with a focus on quality and plenty of vegetarian options. Additionally, the restaurant can accommodate Jain food requirements with advance notice. The ambiance is described as extravagant and classy, offering both indoor and outdoor seating areas.
A nice place to enjoy a quiet meal with your family. We recently celebrated a birthday at this restaurant and the staff were very supportive. Food is superb. They even have a separate Chinese menu if you are not very fond of Indian food. They even offered complimentary desserts (Gulab Jamun). The atmosphere is vibrant. 💯 recommend this place.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the Best Meals We’ve Had – Truly Impressed! We had such a fantastic dining experience at Indian Summer Restaurant that we just had to write a review! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and some of the friendliest staff we’ve ever encountered. We ordered the Boneless Chicken Dum Biryani, Egg Dum Biryani, Garlic Naan, Cheese Naan, Paneer Butter Masala, Faluda, and a Chocolate Milkshake – and honestly, every single dish was amazing. The biryanis were flavorful and perfectly spiced, with generous portions and tender textures. The naans were hot, soft, and packed with flavor – especially the cheese naan, which was a real highlight. The Paneer Butter Masala was creamy, rich, and absolutely delicious. For dessert, the Faluda was refreshing and beautifully presented, and the Chocolate Milkshake was thick, smooth, and exactly what we needed to wrap up a hearty meal. What really stood out, though, was the service. The waiters were incredibly attentive, polite, and genuinely eager to make our experience special. They checked in at the right times, made great recommendations, and made us feel truly cared for. It’s rare to find such exceptional service these days, and we really appreciated it. This was our first visit, but definitely not the last. Highly recommend Indian Summer to anyone who loves great Indian food and top-notch hospitality!

Ayu offers a unique buffet experience that leaves diners with mixed feelings but plenty to savor. On my first visit, I was greeted by an impressive salad and appetizer bar featuring a delightful selection of cheeses. While the sushi left something to be desired, the main dishes predominantly showcased Sri Lankan and Indian flavors, complemented by some Western options. During my lunch buffet in July 2022, I discovered an array of food combinations that truly stood out.
Went for a lunch buffet. Had a wide variety of different types of cuisines. Some of those were delicious and some were average. However overall it was good. Had a nice time, the environment was so calm and quiet as it was less crowded. The staff was also friendly.

A Delightful Birthday Celebration at Ayu Restaurant NH Collection We recently celebrated my daughter’s birthday at NH Hotel's Ayu restaurant, and it turned out to be a truly memorable evening filled with warmth, elegance, and exceptional service. The restaurant went above and beyond in setting the perfect tone for the celebration. The candle-lit table adorned with soft pink runners, fresh flowers, and glass candle holders created a dreamy, intimate ambiance that felt both sophisticated and heartfelt. It was evident that great care had gone into every detail of the décor, making it ideal for a special occasion. The buffet itself was a delightful culinary journey. From a wide variety of appetizers to rich mains and a decadent dessert counter, every dish was carefully curated and well-presented. The live cooking stations were a hit with the guests, offering personalized options that added to the interactive charm of the meal. The staff were incredibly attentive — polite, accommodating, and always ready with a warm smile. Their service contributed immensely to the smooth flow of the event and ensured every guest felt cared for. Most importantly, my daughter was absolutely thrilled. Fruit salad combination is really nice: Papaya, pineapple, watermelon, passion fruit etc. There are different types of sweets are there. cake 🍰 also delicious. We went for a team buffet. Buffet is Ok for the price that you pay. I would say, it has only limited set of collections compared to other 5 star buffets in Colombo but taste is good. Service is also really good. Staffs are always with a smiling face; it is definitely a plus point. I liked the desserts a lot. 😁

Went for their lunch buffet with my parents on the 8th of June 2025 to try them out for the first time but we were absolutely disappointed! Ended up with severe food poisoning just 3 hours after we left the restuarant. The variety of food was extremely poor and some of the dishes were not even being replenished. The food was cold and many of the meats were tough and chewy. All this, and they charge Rs. 5,900 per person and call themselves a 5-star hotel?? Definitely won't be visiting them again nor recommending them to anyone! Really hope they're following the necessary SOPs and quality control checks regarding cleanliness, handling and preparation.

Nestled along Marine Drive, Curry Pot is a charming local eatery that invites you to dive into the vibrant world of Sri Lankan cuisine. With an impressive breakfast spread featuring over twenty different curries—ranging from succulent chicken and young jackfruit (polos) to rich coconut sambol and hearty lentil curry—there's something for everyone. We wanted to try local Sri Lankan cuisine as this was our first time in Sri Lanka. Our tuk tuk guy took us here, initially I was very confused what to order as I could see lots of veggies, rice and some chicken etc in open earthern pots. I asked as local but language problems as she couldn't understand English and i couldn't speak Sinhalese. I managed to order a veg meal where I got rice and a choice of 4 vegetables out of atleast 10. The food was quite spicy and I enjoyed it. Lots of people continuously come and go and price is reasonable. An old lady clears the table and is very sweet.

I had my best SriLankan curry, rice meal at this place today. Some curries are a little too spicy but so so delicious. We paid 580 LKR per person for this meal. You get 4 veg curries and either fish or chicken for this price. So so good!!

Highly local. Highly authentic. Packed at lunch hour, and it ain't tourists lining up here so you know it's good! Cash & credit cards accepted - possibly e-wallet payments as well. Small place with limited seating so be prepared to wait or share a table with someone. No AC but it's across the street from the ocean so there's a good breeze to keep things comfortable. Limited selection of sodas and waters to drink. A variety of meats (mutton, chicken, fish, beef) & curries over a bed of rice, accompanied by numerous side dish options that range from sweet to spicy and everything in between. Tell them what you want when it's your turn to order and pay at the end. It's traditional to eat with your hand (right hand) but they do have forks you can ask for. A sink to wash your hands before and after you eat. Flavors are intense and incredible even if you can't identify what it is that you're eating. We had tasty and delicious lunch at this place. We can choose 5 dishes for lunch where there are varieties of traditional Sri Lankan food. Everything was freshly prepared and the service was excellent. Highly recommend this place when visiting Colombo!

im not sure if it was spoilt or thats how its meant to taste. i ordered the food through pickme and left it untocuhed for about 2 hours until i finished work. the first much seemed alright, but soon I could tell something was off. it didnt have the right temperature even when the dirver handed it over. id honeslty not recommend. especially, if youre a student on a budget. also, my stomach is aching now. if you've read this far, please pray for me.

Good intro to SL food scene. Many locals walking in & eating which is always a good sign! Recommend the Chicken Kottu & and to wash down with Lion beer! Not the greatest air con (?none) so breathable clothing recommended.

If you're in Colombo and craving Turkish and Greek halal cuisine, Acropol Restaurant is a must-visit. This Middle Eastern fast food joint offers a delightful menu featuring classic dishes like hummus, souvlaki, moussaka, and the city's best shawarmas. The cozy setting exudes warmth and charm, creating an ambiance that feels like a Mediterranean vacation.
This is a very nice place with eye-catching and creative interior design that adds to the charm. It’s perfect for hanging out with both family and friends. I tried their French fries, submarine, and shawarma — all were absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cozy and tasty spot to relax and enjoy great food!

I recently visited this restaurant and was impressed by the unique decor and cozy atmosphere—it really gave the place a charming and inviting vibe. The food itself was quite good, with dishes that were flavorful and well-prepared. However, the waiting time for the food was disappointingly long. While I understand that quality food can take time, the delay was excessive and left me feeling a bit fed up by the end of the meal. If they could improve their service speed, this place would be a real gem. Overall, worth a visit for the ambiance and food, but only if you’re not in a hurry!

Beef kebab was perfect. Juicy with a nice crisp and all the pickled veggies were infused and roasted just right ! Highly recommend! Chicken kebab was delicious too, salad was fresh and delicious, chicken and corn soup was epic. Kulfi is really good as a soothing desert. Service and ambience left nothing to wish for.

A cozy and comfortable restaurant. It looks small from the outside but is spacious inside. We visited for lunch and ordered chicken rice and curry, which was served within 10-15 minutes. The rice looked appetizing and was delicious, though it wasn't quite hot enough. The staff were friendly, and vehicle parking is available as well.

I ate in the restaurant upstairs, and it was fantastic - not just the food, but also everything from the service, to the atmosphere and the wonderfully quirky wall and light decorations (see photos!) It is also extraordinarily good value: An *enormous* Sheesh-Tawouk Chicken plate (I had to take half home - and I am a big eater!), a fresh lime and mint drink, a bottle of water + service and taxes, all came to about £6.
Stephanie A — Google review
I recently tried a variety of dishes, and it was a mixed experience overall. The beef kebab was slightly overcooked, which affected its tenderness and flavor. The chicken & fries had potential – the fries were crisp and well-seasoned, but unfortunately, the chicken was undercooked and not quite up to par. On a positive note, the Schezwan Fried Rice was exceptional! It had the perfect balance of flavors with just the right amount of spice. The hot butter cuttlefish was another highlight – crispy, flavorful, and a definite must-try. A bit inconsistent, but some dishes truly stood out! Would love to give it another shot and hope for more consistency next time.

Loved their fried rice and must say, very reasonable prices compared to other similar restaurants. The portion and quality is very good. I took the mix kebab plate which comes with two pita.. But I also asked for extra pita to be added in the plate. The wait time for food is always 20 mins plus so don't expect it to come in 10 or 15 mins.

Hi Yesterday for dinner I visited acropol for the very first time and I had a very experience. I ordered mee goreng and a roast chicken kothu along with kanji. Both the main course was chicken but served with old chicken. It didn’t have flavours, the mee goreng was not good at all and smelt as if the food was spoilt. The reason for this is that I think you guys served very old meat which was in the freezer for a very long time. I didn’t say anything yesterday to the waiter as many people were there for ifthar. But now I would like to raise this as a complaint. Please check the standard of the meat before you serve. 3690 was the total bill I guess. And I’m so upset to give such a lot of money for the most disgusting food. That’s why I went for Mintpay option at least I wouldn’t have to feel so much if I had paid it in one go. The mee goreng was served with pieces of pineapple which is okay but it was served with the parts which we humans don’t eat. The hard part with no taste. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I mean why would you put stuff like that???

Elevate by Jetwing is a must-visit rooftop bar that offers an unforgettable dining experience high above the bustling city of Colombo. Perched on the 29th floor of Access Towers, this venue not only serves up a delightful array of international dishes but also boasts breathtaking views that enhance your meal. For Eid, they are featuring three delectable biriyani options—Chicken, Mutton, and Veg—perfectly paired with traditional sides like Mint Sambol and Raita.
it was an exceptional experience at Elevate by Jetwing with the ambiance that set the perfect mood for the evening. The food was exquisite, with every dish beautifully presented. Cozy is a nice cozy restaurant with a 360 degree view of the Colombo City . This has a cozy indoor area and a nice chilling outdoor area (balcony ).Has a private area too. There is a good variety of food of all types Italian , Chinese etc. Thee starters were great. Main meals the spaghetti was lovely but Sea food mix grill was dissapointing. Desserts were unique and tasty. Service was excellent . Pricing is mid high range.

Went to Elevate for a lunch buffet on a weekday. The place has the working class crowd mostly for office parties. The staff are very warm and welcoming. They speak English well. The ambience is amazing. The view is spectacular. We went for the lunch buffet. The spread was good. The taste was good too. They have both indoor and outdoor dining. Overall a good experience.

Food was awesome view is breathtaking. Staff iss amazing overall great experienceAbsolutely phenomenal experience from start to finish. The food was nothing short of incredible—bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Each dish we tried was a standout, from the appetizers to the desserts. If you're a foodie, this place absolutely delivers. But the food was just the beginning. The view? Unmatched. Whether you're looking out over the ocean, the mountains, or a lush garden (depending on the location), it's the kind of view that makes you pause and just take it all in. It elevates the whole dining experience and creates a serene, unforgettable atmosphere. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the staff. Every team member we interacted with was genuinely kind, attentive, and passionate about what they do. They made us feel not just welcome, but valued. It's rare to find such consistent warmth and professionalism. Altogether, this was more than just a meal—it was an experience. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just want to treat yourself to something special, I can’t recommend this place enough. The combination of amazing food, breathtaking views, and exceptional service creates a memory you’ll want to relive again and again. Definitely a 10/10.

It was wonderful experience on the rooftop restaurant with a view. Although i went for lunch, I recommend dinner there for a nice experience as I’m sure the view would be exquisite with all the lights on colombo. The food is delicious and okay for the price. In terms of the location there’s much room for improvement on the below restaurant. They can use the space outside the air conditioned hall for some tables and lounge like area. The hall was calm and clean. They also have a separate conference like room where you can host a small meeting with food. Ample parking space in the parking although have to climb like 7 floors on vehicle to park. The restaurant is on 27th floor if i remember. Also I recommend having some guiding signs as i had inquire alot to get to the restaurant. Hope they mention it at least on the lift.

I had a fantastic time at Irish Vibe! The atmosphere is amazing, really capturing the essence of an authentic Irish restaurant. The food was okay. The staff were incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home. One of the highlights was the activities available, like the pool table, which made for a fun and relaxing time with friends. Plus, the parking was convenient, which is always a bonus in busy areas. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for food, good vibes, and a fun experience.

This is more of a pub type restaurant and I was really impressed with this restaurant. It also had a pool area to play. Live music and beautiful interior was going well with the vibe. I gotta say for the price range this is really worth it. We ordered lot of foods and drinks and we had a bill of Rs. 2290 /= per person. Foods are really delicious and presented beautifully. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely visit here again.

An amazing spot for a good friends meet up spot. They also have a selection of beers and wine. Potato wedges are a must try! I loved it so much that I had to order it twice. If you are using KOKO this would be a great spot for a fancy outing or to celebrate any family occasions. We also fell in love with their beef burger which was juicy and massive in portion.

Went there for a dinner. Had to make a reservation prior to the arrival and the operator who answered the phone wasn’t professional at all. The dine in experience was OK. Bit pricier compared to what they offer. Portion size may not be ideal for some and the taste definitely needs to be improved a lot! Please stay away from there Tortellini! The fish and chips were nice though. The place is not cozy as they exaggerate. Upstairs were not available and the wooden chairs are not a good addition for the comfortability. The staff was attentive and the foods arrived in time. Parking space is available.

Nice place with some unique decorations, great vibe. A wide range of food dishes are available. Pizza and the pasta were great. Pasta was cheesy and creamy and very delicious. Pizza had a thin crust and it is also good. Potions were large and worth the price. Staff was friendly and food was delivered without any delay. Soft drinks were out of stock when we visited, Only ginger beer was available. Recommended.

Visited first time for a dinner out and loved the atmosphere. Interior has a unique sense and the menu covers Italian and Irish dishes. Food was awesome, good portion and fair prices. In fact the billed prices were less than that was on the menu. A good place to dine in with family or couple of friends.

Nestled within the Ramada Colombo, Gardenia Coffee Shop is a delightful haven for night owls and weekend adventurers alike. This charming spot offers an innovative dining experience with its exclusive late-night options, including a unique midnight buffet that caters to those seeking sustenance after hours. The restaurant's weekend dinner buffet features ever-changing themed menus, ensuring that each visit brings something new and exciting.
I really like the aesthetic of this restaurant. We ordered, noodles, burger and a kottu, The noodles was plain, dry eventhough they have mentioned as wok style. The burger was also alright, nothing too special, but I really enjoyed the kottu which was filling and delicious as well. The food did take some time to arrive, I assume they were getting ready for high tea buffet so they got delayed. But apart from the those menu items, I thought the overall experience was good, I will visit again for sure.
Osura R — Google review
I used to enjoy coming here, but the service and quality have significantly declined. In December, they introduced a limited late-night snack menu, which wasn’t good at all, and then brought back the regular menu in January. Yesterday, I visited and ordered a honey-roasted pumpkin quinoa salad and a wild mushroom cappuccino. After about 5-10 minutes, they served soup buns with butter, which was fine. However, 20 minutes later, they brought out *two soups* instead of one soup and a salad as we had ordered. The server insisted we had ordered two soups, even though it was clearly their mistake as they even took notes on the order. We reluctantly accepted the soups and placed another order for a tuna salad. After another 20 minutes, what arrived was disappointing: a bowl of boiled fish, egg, beans, tomatoes, and onions, served without any dressing, salt, or pepper. To add to the frustration, when I requested coffee, they claimed they might not have cups and needed to check. They never followed up. The restaurant only had two customers at the time, so the delays and errors were unacceptable. While some food items are available for takeaway, beverages are not. Their lamb burger is still decent and was once the best in town, but sadly, the overall experience has deteriorated.
Kalpani S — Google review
Following a friend's recommendation, we dined at the establishment, but were ultimately disappointed with the culinary offerings. The bolognese lacked authentic flavour and appeared to contain insufficient ingredients; similarly, the chicken fried rice received negative feedback. The green apple and passion fruit mocktails were excessively sweet, with the passion fruit drink bearing a stronger resemblance to a pineapple smoothie, lacking any discernible passion fruit taste. While the menu did not list it, the waiter offered ice cream with the brownies; however, only the brownies were served. In summary, the food quality was unsatisfactory. Despite this, the atmosphere was pleasant and uncrowded, and the staff were friendly, and efficient, and provided prompt service. Although a 20% discount was advertised for specific credit cards, this was not applied at checkout. Therefore, future visits remain uncertain, despite the agreeable ambience.

Recommended place for hangouts. Loved the food, ambience and the service. It's multi cuisine and offers delicious food . Also the vibe is so calming. Really gotta appreciate the service, the staff members are friendly and attentive. Usually there's a delay and not a crowded place. TIP - you can download the menu at Ramada colombo official website.

Good service and really nice and calm atmosphere. Food needs drastic improvements. Cofee beverages were ok. Uniqueness is the outside with birds, turtles walking and the golf course in the back. The only irritating thing was mosquitos. Hence recommend going at a time period where there are no mossies...

!!!ROTTEN KOTHU!!!! It was a terrible experience going to Ramada to have a later dinner around 10.45PM with my friends. I ordered a couple of dishes, but the mutton and the chicken kothu were both Rotten. The portion sizes were fine, but the taste of the food is not worth the price. This is just to bring some awareness to not eat kothu from Ramada and also not order food from Ramada after 10PM as the place is so careless on hygiene. After complaining to the waiter, he replaced the 2 kothu with 2 chicken fried rice and gave us a 10% discount.

I recently dined at Ramada Gardenia Coffeeshop and was thoroughly disappointed with my experience. we had to wait an extra 30 minutes for our reservation despite arriving on time. Once seated, it took another 20 minutes just to get water and menus. The service throughout the evening was incredibly slow and inattentive. When our food finally arrived, it was not worth the wait. My fruit salad was very undersized and had no flavor. The overall ambiance of the restaurant did not make up for the subpar food and service. We were deceived I won’t be returning and would not recommend it to any other sri lankan.

Chana's is a popular spot known for its North Indian street food, offering a variety of delicious and affordable options including pani puri, samosas, and chaats. The restaurant has gained recognition for its flavorful biryani, which is praised for its generous portion size, reasonable price, fluffy rice, and well-seasoned chicken. Customers also appreciate the vibrant atmosphere and friendly service at this casual dining establishment.
We had Butter Chicken Biriyani. It gives a good authentic taste. Rice and chicken freshly prepared. Good amount of chicken portion added. Prices are bit higher. Only Biriyani has large portions. Other rice options are comes with single portions. Good customer service. Table are clean and nice modern interior.

Dining area is very spacious and pleasant. The decorations were welcoming. Staff were friendly and helpful. Had Hyderabad Chicken Dum Biryani and Prawns Biryani. Chicken biryani was okay. Had enough chicken pieces and the portion quantity was more than enough for one person. The Prawns Biryani was really nice, generous amount of prawn was there, we loved it. They don't serve boiled egg with biryani, which I think is a minus. They don't have enough options for hot beverages. The black coffee we ordered was the worst. Not a bad dining experience. Would recommend for Biryani.

We visited Chana’s for Iftar, influenced by an Instagram video that made it look great—but the reality was completely different. The restaurant was nearly empty, with only three families dining in, yet the customer service was still terrible. One of the staff members, an older man, was particularly rude and arrogant, which made the experience even worse. Food Quality: • The Iftar pack was a total scam—what they advertised and what they served were completely different. • Their chicken wrap was ridiculously small, even smaller than a regular beef roti. • The tandoori chicken was extremely dry and barely edible. • The Biriyani was the only somewhat decent dish, but overall, the meal was not worth the price. Service & Atmosphere: • Despite only three occupied tables, service was slow and unprofessional. • The staff seemed uninterested, and one particular employee was outright arrogant and rude. Overall, Chana’s did not live up to its hype at all. If you’re considering visiting based on social media promotions, don’t fall for it. There are far better places to go for Iftar or Indian cuisine in the area.

I ordered a cappuccino and a caramel pudding, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The “cappuccino” was just milk mixed with instant coffee – definitely not real cappuccino. It felt like a waste of money. On top of that, the waiter’s attitude was quite rude and unprofessional, treating customers without basic respect. I expected a much better experience from a place like this

A relaxed restaurant to have a very good "Sri Lankan" chinese meal. Everything we ordered were very tasty and flavorful. Portions sizes were also very good; hence it was a satisfying experience. The waiting staff were friendly and courteous and paid attention. The restaurant itself is pretty large; they could dim the natural lighting a tad though (they have huge glass panels that provide a very nice view of that part of Colombo, the sea etc.), with a bit of window tint.

This is a nice place to enjoy a meal in the Bambalapitiya area with affordable prices. One portion is sufficient for two people, and there is no service charge. However, I recommend avoiding the crab rice, as it is essentially the same as the chicken rice with no difference. Additionally, the seafood rice lacks a sufficient amount of seafood. You will receive complimentary green tea and crackers, and the drinks are also quite good. The service here is commendable.
Chamupathi H — Google review
The food was reasonably priced and delicious with generous portions which could easily feed two. I don’t remember the names of the menu items but we did get fried rice, noodles , pork and hot battered cuttle fish. Additionally we ordered papaya and watermelon juice and from all the restaurants we went to , it was the best. Most places water the juices considerably but this was exceptional. Everything we had there was very good.

You can access this restaurant by using the lift in the entrance, and it is located on the 8th floor. They provide complimentary green tea and prawn crackers on arrival. We ordered mushroom dim sum, vegetable chow mein, and stir-fried broccoli. I was indeed a bit disappointed with the dim sum because it was shaped like a mushroom, but there wasn't much mushroom inside—it was more covered with dough and had little filling. But again, I didn't know that's how it usually is. The chow mein and steamed broccoli looked very healthy, as little tampering was done to them. They didn't have much salt or spiciness, but I believe that's how they're supposed to be, as we are very inexperienced with Chinese cuisine. The hospitality was top-notch, and from time to time they asked about how we felt about the food. They made sure it was prepared as pure vegetarian for my friend.

The ambiance was excellent, with a panoramic view of Colombo city. I really enjoyed the views and atmosphere. The place was calm and relaxing. The food and drinks were great. The prices were reasonable considering the portion sizes and quality of the food. The service has been incredible each time I've visited. Perched atop South Asia's tallest self-supported structure, Blue Orbit by Citrus offers a luxurious dining experience with a mesmerizing 360-degree panorama of Colombo. The restaurant serves an exquisite buffet featuring a diverse range of Sri Lankan and Western delights, making it more than just a dining spot but also a gateway to a world of flavors. Guests can enjoy the charming decor and attentive staff while savoring the delicious food in this fantastic atmosphere.
Had a really good experience at Blue Citrus Orbit on a Saturday night. The buffet had a great variety, and the food was genuinely delicious — everything from the starters to the mains was flavorful and well-prepared. Dessert was a-bit of a letdown though. The place had a nice vibe, and the atmosphere felt lively without being too loud. Definitely a great spot if you’re looking to enjoy a relaxed evening with good food. Would happily visit again!

We went here for dinner and it was such a nice experience. The place is really spacious with a calm vibe and a great view. The staff were super friendly and helpful, which made us feel very comfortable. There were so many food options to choose from, and everything we tried was really tasty. The dining area was clean and cozy too. Overall, we had a lovely time and would definitely come again.
Gayani J — Google review
The restaurant is situated on the 27th floor and you need to book in advance as it can get crowded around 8-8.30 on a weekday night. From the get go, unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming. The ambience was not the most welcoming for me. The blueish lighting strip on the shoudl have been of gold colour or yellowish. The revolution that takes 90 minutes for a full circle needed little getting used to. It's not fast, but makes you feel you're constantly gonna fall over for first few minutes. Other members of our group had no trouble with the sensation though. The spread was reasonably wide. There were multiple salad/appetiser presentations and the main course included picks from Indian and middle eastern cuisine. The food in general was delicious, but when you pay 9k for your plate, you expect it to knock your socks off. The dessert options were decent and I liked the caramel and creme brulee. The view is nice, but with the lights on the view is not clear because of the reflections. I guess the situation is better during day time where outside is very well lit.

Visited the Blue orbit by Citrus on a Saturday night for the dinner buffet. Called the restaurant 2 days earlier to make a reservation and they had plenty of space available by then and also when we visited that night there were about 30-40 people short on their maximum occupancy. But it’s better to be safe and make an early reservation. Parking was easy, you just have to mention to the gate that you go to the dinner buffet at the restaurant and they allow you free of charge into the carpark right next to the main entrance of the lotus tower. Once you park, first visit the first floor. There they check your reservation details once again for clarification and guides you to the lift to the 27th floor. All seats except couple seats which on the non- revolving stage next to the windows, are placed on the revolving floor, which has a quite descent pace, which is not that much hard to be seating on. It takes about 2 hours as I noticed for the revolving floor to circle a full circle around the 27th floor. To be honest, for Lkr 9000 pp, the food range was not enough and kind of lacked many essential sections, compared to the same price range hotels around the colombo. There were very few action stations to take from. And also all cheese products were very dry and soft to eat. Number of varieties of food were fewer than expected. Other than that I’m very happy about the overall experience and the service provided by the staff. They were really helpful and cool to interact with. If you want to get a descent dinner experience with your family and friends, go on a date, to experience the revolving floor, to get a very beautiful look at colombo city at night, this indeed is the best and top place. Recommended.

I had a wonderful dining experience at Blue Orbit Colombo. The rotating restaurant setup is truly unique in Sri Lanka and gives you a completely different perspective of the city while you enjoy your meal. Watching the skyline slowly change as you dine makes the whole visit memorable. The food was really nice with a good spread covering both local and international dishes. The staff were very friendly and attentive. If you’re looking for a place in Colombo that combines good food, warm hospitality, and a one of a kind dining atmosphere, Blue Orbit is definitely worth a visit. Perfect for a special evening!

Blue Orbit by Citrus is definitely a unique experience; dining at the revolving restaurant at Lotus Tower was something different and fun! The view keeps changing every few minutes, which made the whole thing feel extra special. The lighting was beautiful, and the music? Honestly felt like they took the playlist straight from my own recommendations…loved it! That said, the slow rotation did make me feel a bit dizzy at times, so that’s something to keep in mind. The food was okay…not a huge selection, and nothing that really stood out. It’s a cool place to try at least once for the experience, but if you’re going purely for the food, it wouldn’t be my personal go-to. Still, worth checking out if you’re into new dining experiences with a view! 🌃🍽️

There were many unique food which I did not find in other places. Specially the dumplings, lamb lasagna and duck. The staff is very friendly and explains about the food when necessary. The cheese corner also had a better variety including blue cheese(I dont like the moldy taste, but it is rare to find). The sushi is also fresh, love the tuna nigiri

Ordered chicken mixed fried rice through PickMe food!! Payed around 2300 LKR and this what we received!! Totally different from what they displayed.

Please note There are some misinformed people in the reviews. This is not the thurstaran road, Oak Ray flower drum. This is at vauxhall Street. This place is good for quick lunch and small gatherings. Place servers beer and alcohol. Portions were good for two people, and their menu is good options for bites, too.

We had the set menu fried rice packs for lunch. I wasn’t too impressed with the taste. At the same time, I also believe for the price of Rs. 850 that’s a reasonable amount of portion and sides

We ordered 41 pcks for staff farewell yesterday from Vauxhall Street outlet.. It was horrible & cannot accept that kind of cheap quality of the food it was not made for humans & utter disgusting after seen the pack. cannot recommend to anyone & wasted almost 18,000/- for pig foods. Sad , we couldn't get pic to display here. Found only 3 tiny chicken pcs , cut from the blade Vegi Chopsue - just boiled with hot water Fried rice with ponni samba & as they said (But its 'Nadu') Vegi Fried rice with 2 ,3 Pcs of brinjals. Horrible food that we ever tasted . No Quality at all .

If you're on the hunt for an exceptional BBQ experience in Colombo, look no further than The Grill by Doctor's Kitchen. Nestled just a short distance from the highway entrance in Kottawa, this boutique BBQ restaurant specializes in expertly smoked meats that are seasoned with top-notch spices and grilled to perfection over charcoal. Their menu offers a delightful array of individual and family platters, ensuring there's something for everyone.
The food was excellent and well worth the price! We expected a small portion but were pleasantly surprised by the diversity on the platter. The milkshakes were just perfect and we were given a herbal drink at the end of the meal - which was a nice touch. Definitely coming back here!

Great Meat Platter & Excellent Service! Tried the meat platter, and it did not disappoint. The pork chops were the highlight—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The kochchi sausage had a nice spicy kick, and the chicken was well-seasoned and juicy. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. A nice touch was the complimentary herbal tea, which was a unique and refreshing way to end the meal. Definitely worth a visit!

Delicious! It is our first time and we try grill mix deluxe. It is good to share for 2 persons. In this platter have 2 chicken legs, 2 pork chops and 2 sausages. Definitely we will come back and bring more friends to this place 😋

It was really good food, the garlic bread and the sides were amazing! You got a lot of meat for the price you payed. I’m really happy with my experience here. The staff were very friendly as well! I’ll definitely come back next time I visit Sri Lanka.

I'm a Hungarian and Romanian-based fella', and let me tell you that this place is just lovely. The food was incredibly good and the atmosphere is just super chill. If you're a foreigner like I am, they will ask you about your tolerance to spicy food (which is very important!). If you're passing by Sri Lanka and you yearn for some good meat, make sure you stop by this place even if for a small bite.

The Grand Oriental Hotel, also known as the G.O.H, is a historic 19th-century property located in Colombo. It offers warm and comfortable accommodations with views of the harbor. The hotel has retained its colonial architecture both on the exterior and interior, providing a vibrant atmosphere filled with Sri Lankan art. With 80 rooms that blend modern touches with colonial-era reminiscence, it offers a comfortable and affordable option amidst the old colonial buildings of the Fort area.
A very old hotel that has been preserved over the years. It was built in 1937 for the wealthy English who lived there. It has 137 rooms (we were not allowed into the rooms). The atmosphere is nice and appropriate for the period. I recommend it for a short visit. There is a beautiful view of the harbor from the dining room.
Arie B — Google review
We stayed here for a day. The property has an old-world charm, but it's evident that the hotel is quite dated. As soon as you enter, there's a distinct old wood smell, giving it a vintage palace feel. The rooms are very spacious, and it's clear the staff is putting in effort to maintain them, though signs of aging are still noticeable. Hospitality was great! Happy to see that they are trying to maintain such old property. Great Job!!! The bathroom was average and unfortunately, we did notice a few worms in the gaps, which was a bit unpleasant. Overall, it was a passable experience — could be better with some upgrades and deeper cleaning.
Jishita C — Google review
They have a great view on their top floor. The harbour looks amazing from here. The buffet available is with cocktails. The food was great here. The place is so old with ancient type of buildings including the lift. U will get a different vibe when u visit here. Now it's going out of fashion as more modern places are available in Colombo. But worth trying their buffet at least once to get a different experience
Pavithra T — Google review
It is an interesting building that, I'm sure, was great 'back in the day'. The Foyer area looks impressive and the staff are lovely. However, the room was not clean. Thick dust on skirting boards and top of wardrobe. Walls covered in stains. Mildew in the bathroom. Dead cockroach under my bed, live one in the shower, a result of poor cleaning! Seriously, hotel management, if you want to attract more western tourists you really need to improve your cleaning. Try using bleach, disinfectant, and other cleaning products. Westerners, and I'm sure others, don't like filth!
Tim W — Google review
The Grand Orient Hotel holds a rich history as one of the oldest hotels in Colombo, and its central location makes it a convenient choice for events like workshops. Its colonial architecture still echoes a charm from the past. However, our recent experience during a workshop was underwhelming. The staff lacked professionalism and friendliness, making us feel unwelcome. The food options were limited and overpriced for the quality. Some rooms had regular beds, but the biggest issue was the poor drainage system in the washrooms, which led to standing water. As a government-owned property, maintained through public tax money, one would expect better upkeep and service aligned with public service standards. That said, the hotel still has great potential if properly managed. With such a prime location and heritage value, I truly hope they take steps to improve both their service and facilities. It could be a gem with just a little more care.

Very Very Bad Experience. First Off all they said 24hrs room service, but when i asked for extra sugar and milk powder at around 12:20am night , they said we are closed no service right now? if no then why you say 24hrs room service. 2nd thing when i asked for early check in they said straight forward no i said i will pay charges, his way of talk was very bad. 3rd Room was Okay, TV was very Old. Overall my experience was not good with Grand Oriental Hotel. But Staff was good only House keeping staff.
Abu T — Google review
Grand in name only. Really old room, peeling plaster on the ceiling and walls, room very loud from the street, windows don’t close properly, cockroaches in the bathroom, no chain on the inside lock (wouldn’t feel safe if I was a lone female traveler!), desk infested with tiny mites, no hot water. Positives: you can buy water upstairs because they only give you 300ml for free
Robyn E — Google review
Giving overall 5 star just because of the legacy of this hotel. The overall maintenance is poor. Rooms are okay for short stay for the price. Front desk and restaurant staffs were friendly and helpful. I really hope the management take some action to improve the situation.

Extended stay hotel
Mandarina Colombo is a sophisticated hotel located in the heart of Colombo's business center, making it perfect for both business and leisure travelers. The hotel boasts modern rooms, an infinity pool with sea views, and a warm restaurant. Guests can enjoy a fully equipped gym, dry cleaning services, complimentary parking, facilities for differently-abled individuals, and 24-hour medical assistance. Additionally, the hotel offers convenient transportation services to Bandaranaike Airport which is just 45 minutes away.
I stayed at this hotel after being discharged from the hospital, and I was truly impressed by the service and comfort. As soon as I arrived, Hassan from the front office welcomed me warmly and assisted with a quick and smooth check-in. He was very polite, professional, and explained everything clearly. I ordered room service, and the dinner was absolutely delicious—well-prepared with generous portions. The intercontinental breakfast was served to my room, and everything was neatly packed and very clean. The room itself was spotless, new, and well-maintained. I’ve stayed at many well-known hotels in Colombo, but I can confidently say this is one of the best in town. I highly recommend it, especially for foreigners, as the location is very convenient. A big thank you to the entire team for their excellent hospitality. I’ll definitely visit again!

Nice location. Buffet isn’t a big spread but it’s alright for a quick breakfast. Rooms are normal spaced too. Clean and tidy. Kinda small pool. It’s great for anyone who’s coming for business, or in a rush. The location is what makes it really accessible.

Satisfied. Clean and tidy rooms. I stayed in a luxury double room on a half board basis. Room is bit smaller (less spacious), but as i booked a single room, it was okay. Service of the staff is really good and I was really suprised about the speed of them, once I do any request. They reacted and fulfilled my requests very quickly. Pool was also very clean and has a nice view of city area and the ocean. It was located in the roof top. For the breakfast, It was like a Sri Lankan buffet, with delicious foods. I was really satisfied with their food also. Resturant also located in the roof top.

I recently visited this hotel for high tea, and while the food was absolutely perfect – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented – the overall experience was let down by a few key issues. The management staff were not friendly or welcoming, which unfortunately affected the atmosphere. On the other hand, the minor staff were polite and attentive, doing their best to make guests feel comfortable. One major downside was the restaurant area itself – it was fully compact and felt overcrowded, making it hard to relax and enjoy the setting. The cramped space really took away from what should have been a calm and enjoyable high tea experience. In summary, the food was excellent, but the hospitality and environment need improvement
Devinda T — Google review
I see that most of the reviews of this hotel are for the buffet and high tea and not actually for the accommodation in itself. My recent stay at Mandarina Colombo was exceptionally disappointing and fell far short of any reasonable expectation for a 5-star property. This hotel is, at best, a modest 3-star establishment. Service was Terribly Slow and Inefficient. I ordered simple grab-and-go items from the display window. It took the staff member a shocking 30 minutes just to pick up the items and place them in a box. When I asked for the food to be heated, I was told it was "slightly heated" already, which was not the case. The final process of sorting out the bill then took another agonizing 15 minutes. This kind of delay for a simple transaction is baffling. Room is okay: very basic, it was fine. The lights in my bathroom were not functioning correctly. Water was leaking Gym: Half of the equipment in the gym was out of order, making a proper workout impossible. Compounding this, the lifeguards sits inside the gym and visibly watch patrons work out, which was intrusive and highly uncomfortable
Suvechha C — Google review
This is a good hotel where we hosted our international and local three-day trainings. The staff service and kindness were exceptional. The rooms were neat and compact. We especially appreciated the restaurant crew's kindness and excellent service, and the food was quite good.

I had a very pleasant stay. The receptionist’s warm smile and welcoming attitude made a wonderful first impression. Hassan and the rest of the team were extremely friendly, helpful, and courteous throughout my visit. From check-in to check-out, the service was smooth and professional. Would definitely stay again!.

I visited this place with a friend once. The buffet had an incredible variety of food options and I believe it was the most expensive buffets in Colombo at the time. We decided to give it a try. This was a unique buffet experience with multiple live action stations starting from the soup station. The place was also quiet and had a lovely ambiance. You should check this place out!

Had an incredible dinner buffet experience at Shangri-La Central. The ambiance was elegant and relaxing, the food was top-notch, and the service was flawless. Table One at the Shangri-La Colombo is a culinary gem that stands out for its impressive buffet spread, showcasing an array of flavors from around the globe. This restaurant captures the essence of a vibrant Sri Lankan fruit market with its inviting decor and warm ambiance, making it a delightful dining experience. Guests can indulge in expertly prepared dishes that span Western, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, and traditional Sri Lankan cuisines. The dessert selection is equally enticing!
Visited in the afternoon for their lunch buffet. Great ambience. Great spread. Reserving a table in advance is advisable. We visited on a weekday afternoon (around 12.30) and the place was almost full. There’s a set of tables with a view of the ocean, and some without. The buffet is priced at about LKR 2400 + taxes, which is quite reasonable. There’s both local and foreign cuisine to choose from. There are several live stations as well, where you can get the chefs to prepare dishes like pasta for your own taste. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

Very polite and friendly staff.but the buffet menu needs a lots of improvement.poor choice of menu selection,it was all over the place.. hope the hotel management do a better job hiring an excellent chef according to the hotel standards. I tried a little bit of everything available, except for two, three items. i didn't like the taste of others especially the caramel pudding( I was confused what was it exactly ! ) . The hotel lobby has a gorgeous open space. but table one buffet area space hasn't been well utilized.

Table one gave us a grand welcoming when we visited Sri Lanka after more than five years. The buffet style menu had a huge diversity, a dish from pretty much every corner of the world. We specifically found Sri Lankan style dishes to be more satisfying. The restaurant had a great wine menu as well! This restaurant truly echoes the vibes of diverse Sri Lankan food fusion. The staff was very polite and courteous. Our server did an amazing job keeping the company entertained and making sure everything was smooth. Absolutely loved our time there, and hoping to return soon!

Restaurant ambience is fantastic. One of the best buffets in Colombo which serves Srilankan, Japanese, Indian and more. Sea food was also available plenty. The "Table one" restaurant has one of the most unique interiors. The spread in the dessert section in particular was lacking. One of the best from all hotels in Sri Lanka.
Dinesh S — Google review
5 star buffet experience with a huge variety of food in Sri Lankan and Indian style, Chinese, continental, Sushi bar, BBQ corner, salad and soup unit, pasta counter and a huge variation of desserts. You'd get lost among big selection of food, but there is a dedicated person to give a head start about the buffet for you. Place can be quite busy so prior reservation recommended

This probably the best Buffett spread in town. Food is really good tasty and spicy well prepared by professional staff. Buffet is well spread to cover Western, Chinees, Indian, Japanese and Sri Lankan. They have a really good spread of dessert in the buffet The restaurant is spacious and really good ambiance. You must make a reservation before you visit the restaurant. Their fresh juices are nice really good. There are plenty of food action stations which make lovely hot hot food for your satisfaction. Staff friendly and corporative.

Ok here goes. Visited there 2times, and both times they let me done. Food was not great at all. I mean being a new-awesome hotel you expect better food. Food was presented nicely and its always crowded with people, mainly waiters and managers. So if you are planing a quiet, peaceful or a lovely dinner, this is not the place for you. Its noisy with people running for food and drinks. And the other thing is its sooo expensive 3990+ PP on weekends and this was last year. I mean i get the pricing and all but at least you expect the food to be nice. They do have a variety tho. Indian, Chinese Arabic so on and so forth. They get 3 stars because their desert range is pretty awesome. Love it. The staff is super friendly. But they look tried. Ill recommend you to go there and see whats going on but trust me its not a go-to-dinner place. There better places than Table-One
