Sri Lankan restaurant
Restaurant
Upali's by Nawaloka is a top choice for those seeking traditional Sri Lankan cuisine in Colombo. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes suitable for vegans and vegetarians, from soups and salads to main courses and desserts. Once the childhood home of businessman Upali Dharmadasa, this establishment provides a homely atmosphere while serving mouthwatering rice and curry spreads during lunch hours.
I, absolutely love coming here, exceptional food every time. Before I start, the service does not match the quality of the taste and the food. Don’t get me wrong, the wait staff are great, there is not enough of them, and the customers end up waiting a long time. I love having the traditional rice and curry, and it is so good. The next trip I had the hoppers, and wow. Can’t beat that. We also shared some kitty roti and the dry beef curry, all exceptional. The watalappam was excellent and so was the caramel pudding. The restaurant is very clean and really worth the trip.

One of the popular Sri Lankan cuisine restaurants in Colombo, this place is favored by both locals and tourists, making it a trending spot. It is easily accessible from the main road, and parking is always available. The food is delicious, with each dish served as a single portion, making it perfect for sharing among kids. You can customize the spices to suit your preference. My favorites are the mutton kottu and prawn curry with roasted bread. All the ingredients are fresh, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Typically, there is no waiting time, which adds to the convenience. I highly recommend it for dinner, as the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere.
Eranga T — Google review
I tried the Sri Lankan mixed flavors platter and one of their desserts (photos attached). Both were delicious! The waiter was very kind, friendly, and attentive — he even gave us information while chatting with us. One small note: if you don’t want spicy food, make sure to mention it in advance. Overall, it’s definitely a place where you can comfortably enjoy a meal if you’re around. Highly recommended!

Greeted with smiles. We had fried rice both chicken and prawns. The isso thel dala was really nice. Spicy but delicious 😋. Also the potato fry was excellent. Service is excellent. The drinks were excellent. Genuine sri lankan culinary experience in the heart of colombo. You got nelum pokuna and the colombo council building for the view. Easy to have a conversation. The watalappan was fantastic as well. I didn't notice any artificial flavors or enhancers. It's a healthy genuine experience. Highly recommend!

The highlight of our short stayover at Colombo before heading to explore other parts of SL. When the 2 of us, ordered the Jaffna Crab Curry we were warned that the portion size is usually fit for 3-4 people. And to be fair, it is but little did they know our capacity to devour that delicious crab and soak in all the gravy into our set lunch menu plate with rice, bread and vegetables. I'm going to have dreams about that crab gravy. There were so many other things on the menu that caught our eye but our stomachs betrayed us by only allowing us to eat so much. Coming back again on the next visit to Colombo to savour more.
Nitin S — Google review
The service was exceptionally friendly, and the staff took the time to guide us through their extensive menu and explain the dishes. The food was delicious as well. We had roti paratha, veggie curry, prawns, milk hopper and buffalo milk. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a sri lankan experience in Colombo! :)

Fantastic Sri Lankan Fare in Colombo Upali's by Nawaloka is an absolute must-visit for anyone craving authentic Sri Lankan cuisine in Colombo. From the moment you walk in, you'll appreciate the trendy, welcoming atmosphere—it's a chic spot to enjoy traditional food. The location is excellent, too, right in the heart of Colombo and conveniently close to Viharamahadevi Park. The menu truly delivers. Whether you're craving comforting staples like roast paan or looking for perfectly cooked meat dishes, Upali's has you covered. The flavors are genuinely authentic and utterly delicious. If you want a taste of real Sri Lanka in a vibrant setting, make a stop here. Highly recommended!

Poor food quality. We ordered the srilankan taster plate, they took more than 20 minutes to bring us the dish. String hoopers and hoppers were good, the garlic rice was extremely dry and the whole platter was very average, Unlike the other reviews…. Extremely disappointing. Fish and cuttlefish were average too. Not worth it. Poor service

Seafood restaurant
Restaurant
Ministry of Crab, founded by Sri Lankan cricketing legends Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara along with culinary expert Dharshan Munidase, is a seafood haven that pays homage to the country's delectable crabs. The restaurant, which opened in 2012 in a restored old hospital building, has quickly become a favorite among locals and tourists.
We had such an amazing experience at Ministry of Crab in Colombo! I loved the little touches – like being served oysters on a mini cricket bat and seeing the history of cricket stars on the welcome reservation card. Such a unique and beautiful idea! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the jumbo-sized crab – it was the highlight of the night. The flavors were incredible and so fresh. The service was top-notch, really attentive and high standard, which made the whole experience even better. If you’re in Colombo, I’d definitely recommend visiting Ministry of Crab – it’s not just a meal, it’s an experience!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had an incredible experience at Ministry of Crab! From the moment I arrived, the hospitality stood out. A huge shoutout to Anoja at the front desk who went above and beyond to squeeze me in even though the restaurant was full — her warm welcome and effort to make it happen set the tone for a memorable evening. The service throughout was excellent, especially from Madin, who was not only attentive but also genuinely friendly and kind, making me feel completely at ease. And of course, the food… absolutely outstanding! The crab and prawns were perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and lived up to every bit of the hype. The quality of ingredients and the way each dish was prepared really shows why Ministry of Crab is world-renowned. Overall, a perfect combination of amazing food, top-class service, and genuine hospitality. Highly recommend — and I’ll definitely be back!

We had dinner at Ministry of Crab last night as a couple with our 10-year-old, and it was a fantastic experience overall! The atmosphere was vibrant yet cozy — perfect for a family evening out. We tried the clay pot prawn curry with rice, and it was absolutely delicious. The prawns were fresh and perfectly cooked, but the real star was the rich, coconut-based gravy — bursting with flavor! We also had passion fruit juice, which was refreshing, though a bit on the sour side for our taste. Overall, a memorable dining experience with great food, friendly service, and a lovely ambiance. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Colombo Fort! 🍤🥥🇱🇰
Shaon S — Google review
This amazing restaurant lived up to all the hype. From when you arrive you are treated with a first class experience. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable, and know the menu off by heart. The food is sensational. The prawns and crabs are delicious. My tip, don’t go for the heavily spiced or strongly flavoured sauces, and let the crab do the talking! Sitting in a 400 yo building, surrounded by history and eating top quality food is well worth the pricing! Enjoy!
Jacqui B — Google review
Ministry of Crab in Colombo is a must-visit if you love seafood, especially crab. The place has a warm, stylish vibe inside a beautiful old colonial building. The star of the menu is definitely the Sri Lankan lagoon crab—fresh, meaty, and cooked just the way you like it, whether it’s spicy pepper, garlic chili, or buttery goodness. The staff are super helpful and friendly, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Yes, it’s a bit pricey, but totally worth it for a special night out. If you're in Colombo, treat yourself—you won’t regret it!
Mohammed I — Google review
We had such a wonderful dining experience at the Ministry of Crab! Before going, we were a little bit skeptical and worried it might just be another tourist trap, but we were pleasantly surprised. The service was outstanding—attentive to every details, anticipating our needs before we even asked, and offering helpful guidance on how to order. We tried only two dishes, the claypot curry and the chili garlic crab, but they were absolutely addictive. The sauces were so good that we couldn’t resist overindulging, especially with all the bread. In short, we really enjoyed our dinner and definitely worth a try when you are in town!
HH H — Google review
What a great dining experience at the Ministry of Crab. On arrival service and welcome by Dilanka was warm and welcoming. He explained the menu and guided us through our choices and sizes. The prompt ongoing service for drinks and wipes and extra touches to make our meal memorable were attended to. The entrees of prawns, clams, oysters were each amazing in presentation and flavour. We had three varieties of crab for our main as a group and each were different and delicious. The fleshy crabs were the best I have ever eaten and the body of flavour in the sauces were rich and delicious. The Sri Lankan bread and rice helped us enjoy the sauces and flavours. It was a beautiful meal experience. We rounded off with perfect macchiato coffees. If your budget can stretch this far, I highly recommend a meal here. Just remember to book as our lunch sitting was fully booked out.

When in Sri Lanka, you absolutely have to dine at the Ministry of Crab (MOC)! It’s more than just a meal — it’s a luxurious culinary experience. As someone from southern India, I’m no stranger to crab, but MOC took it to an entirely different level. The freshness, seasoning, and presentation were impeccable, making each bite memorable. The ambiance adds to the experience, with a lively yet sophisticated vibe that complements the food perfectly. Be prepared to spend a little more, as it is one of Asia’s top restaurants, but trust me — it’s worth every dollar. From the first bite to the last, it’s an indulgence that will leave a lasting impression. Whether you’re a seafood lover or just looking for a fine dining experience in Colombo, MOC is an absolute must-visit! P.S. Be ready to get your hands a little messy — eat the Sri Lankan way! Using your hands is part of the fun, and yes, you’re supposed to feel a little messy while enjoying every bite.

Sri Lankan restaurant
Restaurant
Nuga Gama is a themed restaurant located in The Cinnamon Grand, offering a rustic outdoor ambience under the canopy of a nuga tree, creating the atmosphere of a typical Sri Lankan village. Renowned for its organic, vegetarian, and vegan-friendly fusion food, it also serves an array of coffee options and unique Sri Lankan hot teas. Open for dinner, this restaurant presents a buffet-style spread of local cuisine with live cooking stations and traditional music and entertainment.
If you are in Colombo and want to experience authentic Sri Lankan cuisine in a truly unforgettable setting, Nuga Gama is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you step in, you are transported into a beautiful oasis tucked away from the city’s hustle — a perfect blend of rustic charm and genuine Sri Lankan hospitality. The food is nothing short of spectacular. Every dish is bursting with rich, traditional flavors, crafted with care and using the finest local ingredients. Whether it’s the fragrant rice and curry, the mouthwatering seafood, or the expertly spiced sambols, each bite offers a true taste of Sri Lanka’s culinary heritage. And the cocktails? Absolutely next level — creative, refreshing, and perfectly complementing the bold flavors of the food. The atmosphere under the massive old banyan tree (“Nuga” in Sinhala) adds a magical touch, making it feel like you’re dining in a serene village garden. It’s cozy, welcoming, and full of authentic character. Nuga Gama isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience. If you love great food, a warm ambiance, and a genuine connection to Sri Lanka’s rich culture, you simply cannot miss this place.

A wonderful place to bring foreign delegates to experience authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. The traditional dances and songs add a special cultural touch that guests truly enjoy. The fruit section is impressive, with local favorites like wood apple, passion fruit, star fruit, veralu, gaduguda, mangosteen, jambu, rambutan, and more. The crab and mutton delicacies are also highly recommended!
Sameera S — Google review
Will I visit again? 100% yes! This was my second time here—I had visited earlier, pre-COVID. The food is great, though the spice level ranges from medium to hot, so you'll need to choose dishes accordingly. I really enjoyed the live counter serving egg appams, along with the other local dishes I tried. I was especially keen to explore authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, and it did not disappoint! The evening was made even more special with live singing, followed by an impressive fire show and a cultural dance performance. It all contributed to a truly memorable experience. The dessert counter was another highlight, offering a wide selection of Sri Lankan sweets to sample and enjoy.

Kudos to the chefs. Surely our best meal throughout our trip to Sri Lanka. Some a bit spicy but worth a sweat Buffet style at 6000 rupees per pax. Also has local cultural live entertainment When using maps enter in Cinnamon Grand Hotel Lobby as your destination as thats the only entrance otherwise its easy to get a bit lost if following a GPS pin.
John N — Google review
I recently visited Cinnamon Nuga Gama for dinner and had a pleasant experience overall. The restaurant has a unique and charming village-style setting, offering a traditional Sri Lankan ambiance right in the heart of the city. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and courteous throughout the evening. One of the standout highlights of the visit was the Sri Lankan cooked curry corner, which was exceptional. The variety of authentic curries, freshly made with bold spices and rich flavors, truly brought out the best of local cuisine. It was evident that a lot of care and tradition went into preparing these dishes, and they certainly did not disappoint. However, some of the other sections of the buffet did not quite meet expectations. While the food was decent, it lacked the same level of flavor and authenticity found in the curry section. There’s definitely room for improvement in terms of taste and variety in those areas. The cultural segments, including a few local performances and traditional elements, added a nice touch to the overall experience, enhancing the Sri Lankan village feel. In summary, it was a good dining experience, especially for those looking to explore authentic Sri Lankan cuisine in a rustic, relaxed setting.
Hashantha H — Google review
As someone who lives and breathes Sri Lankan cuisine, I walked into Nuga Gama with my expectations set high. The atmosphere? Breathtaking. The warmth and hospitality of the staff? Absolutely godlike. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel right at home — and for that alone, the team deserves the highest praise. When it came to the food itself, however — while it faithfully echoed the comfort of a traditional Sri Lankan home (which is exactly what many tourists come for) — I couldn’t help but feel something was missing. That spark. That surprise. That evolution. As a long-time fan of Cinnamon properties, Nuga Gama has been on my bucket list for ages. But I kept wondering: why hasn’t modern creativity been allowed to flow here? Why not elevate our beloved dishes without losing their soul? There’s so much potential to reimagine heritage flavors through thoughtful fusion — drawing from authentic local ingredients and turning them into something bold, exciting, and uniquely Sri Lankan. A celebration of our roots and our future. I’m not talking profit margins here — this is a five-star hotel. The infrastructure exists. The opportunity is there. For first-timers and tourists, Nuga Gama remains a five-star experience. But in today’s landscape, where Gen Z drives curiosity, influence, and even family outings, the lack of culinary innovation might miss a golden opportunity. Personally, I was content. But that signature wow I’ve felt in other Cinnamon dining spaces? It just didn’t echo here. Still — massive kudos to the genuinely wonderful staff and gracious service team. You were the soul of the experience. And to the chefs: there’s so much room to rise, evolve, and truly inspire. Would I visit again? Absolutely. But next time, I hope to taste something familiar… with a twist I never saw coming.
Janith A — Google review
Food and service were okaish. Drinks could have been better. Few shows in between, which were quite entertaining. Had buffet but would have appreciated better options in starters. Some drink options should have been put up considering it is a buffet - like juices or coconut water. Ice cream section should be better maintained.

The restaurant is a must go when in Sri Lanka. Located inside Cinnamon Grand, it is yet a place that feels away from the city truly back to roots. The service is great, specially with their staff Induwara Wasalage Yohan Kanishka ….the hospitality is at its best. The music is cherry on top. Specially when they played Hindi Bollywood. Thanks Nuga Gama. From - India. Charges: it was around 2000-2500 INR without drinks per person.

Sri Lankan restaurant
Palmyrah Restaurant, situated within the bustling Renuka Hotel on Galle Road, is renowned for its exquisite traditional Jaffna cuisine. The menu features popular northern Sri Lankan dishes such as pittu, tossai, mutton curry, and whole crab curry. A particular highlight is the elusive milk hoppers that are a rare find in Colombo. The restaurant has garnered a reputation for its exceptional service and sophisticated ambiance.
When ever we are in colombo ,my buddy Malaka will bring me to what he feels and i totally agree is the best sri lankan food in colombo !
Baldbellyboy — Google review
Palmyrah claims to offer "authentic" and "traditional" Jaffna flavors, but unfortunately, the experience fell short of that promise. The flavors felt diluted, seemingly modified to cater to a Western or non-native palate, which diminished the authenticity that one would expect from such a place. The odiyal kool starter, advertised as one of their signature dishes, was particularly disappointing. The flavors were off, and rather than the earthy, seafood-rich taste typical of kool, it was overshadowed by an unexpected addition—possibly a tomato or chili-based sauce—that completely altered the dish’s character. This departure from tradition was a letdown. The other dishes didn’t fare much better. The hoppers were underwhelming, I assumed that the batter wasn't fermented enough, and both the kothu and prawn dish lacked the bold, nuanced flavors that define authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. The core issue seems to be a dilution of traditional recipes. By trying to appeal to a broader audience, Palmyrah has compromised the very essence of what makes Jaffna cuisine so special. If you market your food as "authentic," it’s crucial to stay true to the original flavors rather than tailoring everything for a "foreign" palate. The service, too, left something to be desired. It took over 10 minutes before our server even approached our table, despite the restaurant being almost empty. There was a noticeable lack of attentiveness, which contributed to the overall lackluster experience. On a positive note, the atmosphere was clean and pleasant, but that alone isn’t enough to redeem the experience. Given the hype surrounding Palmyrah, especially from YouTube videos labeling it a "must-visit," I’d have to disagree. Based on this visit, I’d recommend giving it a pass unless they go back to delivering the rich, authentic Jaffna flavors they claim to serve.

Palmyrah has a reputation for authentic Jaffna-style dishes and hoppers, so I was eager to finally check it out . Unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet expectations. We ordered hoppers, their well-known mutton dish, seeni sambol, thosa with sambal, and wattalappam. The hoppers were below average, and the mutton—while flavorful—was served cold and came in a small portion, yet cost 3,500 LKR. The sambols were the highlight—both seeni and thosa sambals were tasty and well-made. The wattalappam was disappointingly small and overpriced, with average flavor. We ended up spending close to 10,000 LKR for the meal, which felt steep for what we got. The ambience was just okay—it’s a downstairs restaurant with no view and nothing particularly atmospheric or romantic. It feels like a place to eat and go, rather than to enjoy the experience. Sadly, I won’t be returning. It seems Palmyrah has lost the charm and quality it was once known for.
Nuwan A — Google review
if your looking to dine at a cozy restaurant with great Lankan cuisine, i suggest the Palmyrah restaurant at the Renuka City hotel in Colombo. Service is great and the food is a 3.5/5. here are some things to note: For the main course - here are my recommendations: * We love the Egg hoppers and Seeni sambol and the jaggery hoppers :) * Note that all condiments and sambols are priced separately. this includes the chutney for dosa/pol sambol etc. * The Fried fish puttu is my husbands favourite along with an order of Ambul thiyal which is really superb. For Dessert..the favourite was: The Mango Melba which is a generous portion and so tasty. I would not recommend the wattalappam as the portion was tiny and does not deliver authentic taste For fruit juices, the lime juice was the winner. Note that while the prices look reasonable on the menu.. but it does add up as all condiments are sold separately. Cocktails are also quite expensive ( starting at Rs 2000 ++) All menu items are subject to a heavy service charge - please be mindful the bill will be higher than what you ordered.
Sharon G — Google review
I recently visited this place. The food didn’t taste special — very simple and I would say it’s overpriced for that. I wasn’t fully satisfied with the service, but a 10% service charge was still added to the bill.

Raja Bojun Restaurant is a spacious, airy eatery that serves delicious and authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. The restaurant offers a wide range of richly spiced dishes in a casual setting with high ceilings. While the alacart menu has limited Sri Lankan options and leans more towards Western cuisine, the lunch buffet is highly recommended for those who want to experience the true flavors of Sri Lanka.

We visit this place with our Japanese friends. Foods look so good, but need to improve the tasty. It little different than real Sri Lankan quality of the foods. Very nicely arranged and there are so many varieties and you can taste any thing. Cost is little expensive, but in such place it is not possible to run the business. What a lively and lovely spread of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. At SLR 1999 it is a good deal and something that every traveller should experience. The place is well designed and quite spacious but the aircon was little less given the food we were thriving on. Located on the fourth floor and we had gone in a group of about 20 friends. I enjoyed the crab where as several others enjoyed the appams and fish and chicken curry. Food is very tasty and hygienic. Liquor is not served here. Try it and i am sure you will love this place.

Used to be good before but from my yesterdays (23/06/2019) visit The place was very bad from the food to all the rest. No Mutton only chicken fish and crab They have reduced the price from 2000/= to 1850/= Also no TEA or COFFEE Next earlier they gave free parking facilities but not now So going there for lunch or dinner is not worth........ Food is not tasty as it used to be........

For authentic srilankan taste. Don't go anywhere els. This is it. Make sure you get your taste buds tested with the crab curry.
Ahmed K — Google review
A good introduction to Sri Lankan food as you get to try a little bit of everything. Each dish packs a punch- my personal favourites were the mango curry and crab. The egg hoppers had a nice flavour, but the downside is that they are served cold. Would be a massive improvement if they could have a chef make it at a live counter. Food aside, the restaurant has probably seen better days. It was practically empty when I went for lunch on a Saturday. Several dishes were missing serving spoons and labels. Not a major problem, but shows you that they don't really bother much with keeping up appearances.

The Gallery Café is a unique establishment that serves as both a restaurant and an art gallery, providing a platform for emerging talents and established Sri Lankan artists. Housed in a colonial bungalow that once belonged to renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa, the café has retained its charm and original vision.
We had a wonderful experience at Gallery Café in Colombo, especially as we were there to celebrate a special birthday dinner. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of rich flavors. The vibe was so elegant, with a warm and artistic atmosphere that made the evening feel truly special. The architecture and design of the space are stunning, a perfect blend of creativity and comfort. It’s honestly one of the most beautiful cafés in Colombo. We also ordered a birthday cake, and it was cute, elegant, and absolutely delicious, a perfect touch to our celebration. Gallery Café is a great place to celebrate special days with your loved ones. We loved every moment and would definitely visit again!

Recently, I’ve found myself becoming more interested in art and architecture—largely thanks to my wife’s influence. This café, designed by the legendary Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa, is a true gem. As the pioneer of tropical modernism, Bawa’s vision comes to life beautifully here. The space is simply stunning—a harmonious blend of art, history, and nature. The design feels open and organic, with thoughtful touches that reflect both cultural heritage and environmental sensitivity. You’ll even find select artworks on display, adding to the artistic ambiance. As for the food, some dishes were decent, though I’d suggest steering clear of the beef options—they were overly salty in my experience. Prices are on the higher side, but considering the unique setting and atmosphere, it’s absolutely worth the visit.

If there’s one restaurant in Sri Lanka that truly deserves praise, it’s The Gallery Café. This is the only place in the entire country where I actually finished my plate — and trust me, that says a lot! I’ve tried several other restaurants during my trip, but none of them even came close. Most places served food that was bland, greasy, or just disappointing. But here? Every single dish was full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. You can really taste the quality and attention to detail. Yes, it’s a bit more expensive than other restaurants, but honestly — it’s worth every rupee. The food, the service, the atmosphere — everything feels a level above the rest. The staff are friendly, professional, and make you feel genuinely welcome. If you’re looking for real, delicious food in Sri Lanka, stop searching — this is the place. Everywhere else, I left half my food untouched… but at The Gallery Café, I cleaned my plate and almost ordered more. Absolutely recommended. You’ll walk out happy, full, and already planning your next visit. 🍽️✨

Surprisingly artful and decorated in a very stylish way, this place positively welcomes you in a unique setting. Prices are higher accordingly and with exception of the uncomfortable chairs and the alcohol-free Poya day rules which are part of Sri Lanka culture, we had an excellent evening. Definitely recommendable. Especially the champagne and seafood risotto's were great. Our daughters had a sirloin and fillet steak that were very sizable, a shame their vegetables were not so well cooked.
Dries R — Google review
We had an evening dinner in the outdoor area, a little off the beaten track but well worth the visit. Booking was easy via WhatsApp. Service was attentive, and the menu offered a huge range of both food and drinks. The spicy margarita was excellent, and I’d highly recommend the baked crab to share as a starter. The seared tuna and black pork curry were both outstanding. A perfect mix of Western and local flavours—definitely a spot to revisit. Would be fab in large groups. Pricing on the higher side for Sri Lanka, but pay for quality.

A quaint hidden gem in Colombo! Stunning spot with a great Geoffrey Bawa influence. It’s like eating in the most stunning set up. We had a dessert each and it was decent.. would definitely go back to try the other food

So the entrance to this restaurant is one of the best I’ve been to and I’ve been to thousands of restaurants (yes I’m giving away my age a bit) so expectations are already set high. The menu is varied from different parts of the world so there’s plenty to choose from. The food prices are amongst the highest in Columbo so again expectations are growing. The service was reasonable. However, it all went downhill when the food arrived. Salty was an understatement. Not just one element of the dish but two of the three main elements. The third was white rice that was literally glued together! Needless to say the plate of food was returned and I left having just drank water (to wash away the salty taste!) Definitely worth a visit for the entrance but after that turn around and get your food somewhere else!

Tastefully done decor (given the Paradise road connection). This was the 3rd time here and finally the food clicked, really good dishes (especially the desserts). You'll forget it's right in the middle of Colombo. Was the perfect spot for a quiet lunch.

Barefoot Garden Cafe is a popular spot for brunch and relaxation, attracting both locals and tourists. It's set in a charming stone-paved courtyard surrounded by a lush frangipani garden. The cafe offers more than just food, with an impressive bookshop featuring Sri Lankan authors, a fashion store showcasing hand-woven fabrics, and an art gallery hosting cultural events like film screenings and poetry readings.
What a charming cafe, conveniently located just a stone's throw from the beach! You'll find a wonderful array of handmade and local treasures to explore here, which are beautiful even just to admire. The cafe itself is expertly designed, feeling like a private tropical escape. And the food? Comforting and incredibly tasty!

This place has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere with a strong cultural vibe. The food from the kitchen is tasty, and the overall ambiance is pleasant. The staff is friendly, the service is good, and the menu offers something for everyone at a fair price. If you're interested in art, you can also visit the Barefoot Gallery nearby. The place has a nice mix of classic and authentic charm. It's a good spot for anyone who appreciates art and a relaxed setting.

✅ Part of the famous Barefoot boutique. ✅ Food is delicious, wide variety to select. ✅ Easy accessibility and parking available. ✅ Spacious. ⚠️️ Staff need more training on serving the customers. ⚠️️ Price of food and beverage are bit high. ⚠️️ Should focus more on maintenance and cleanliness, specially because the tabels are arranged outdoors. 🟢 Recommended

I visited Barefoot Garden Café in Colombo, and it was honestly one of the best café experiences I’ve had — a true 10/10! I ordered the lamb burger with yogurt and mint, which was perfectly seasoned and so satisfying. The spinach quiche was equally delicious, and the crème brûlée was just divine — rich with the perfect touch of sweetness. What made me especially happy was finding milk tea served with condensed milk — something so rare these days, and it felt like home ❤️ The service was friendly and helpful. It took a little effort to get attention at first, but once I did, the staff gave great recommendations and were happy to find replacements or offer solutions when asked. The ambience was calm and welcoming. The café is part of the larger Barefoot brand, which includes a boutique selling beautiful souvenirs, clothing, and even a bookshop — all high-quality products at fair prices. Some might find it slightly expensive, but the quality truly justifies the cost. The nearby toilet was also clean and well-equipped, which I appreciated. I loved that the café is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city — it’s in an enclosed area, quiet and private, which makes it perfect for a relaxed afternoon. Overall, Barefoot Garden Café is an absolute gem — peaceful atmosphere, wonderful food, and a unique concept that combines culture, shopping, and dining all in one place. Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting Colombo!

We ate here twice and couldn’t fault the quality of the food, it was some of the freshest we had had across Sri Lanka and it was great to get generous portions of grilled meat and vegetables within the dishes. The food is on the more expensive side compared to other cafe’s, but warranted.

Barefoot Garden Cafe is a gem that never disappoints! I’ve visited quite a few times, and each experience has been consistently above par. The food is delicious, the ambiance is warm and inviting, and the staff are friendly. I was pleasantly surprised that they have a few vegan options available that I actually like, making it a great spot for friends with different dietary preferences. Plus, if you’re into art, the nearby Barefoot Gallery is definitely worth a visit. A perfect place to relax, enjoy good food, and soak in a creative vibe!

An Oasis of Good Vibes, Great Food, and Jazz Barefoot Garden Cafe is a must-visit gem in the heart of Colombo. Tucked away beautifully within the Barefoot showroom, this cafe is an urban sanctuary that masterfully blends a relaxed, beach-close atmosphere with an artistic, bustling energy. The garden setting is superb—it's incredibly cozy and spacious, with plenty of shade from the lush tropical greenery. It’s the kind of place that instantly makes you feel relaxed and world's away from the city hustle. The food and drinks are truly delicious. Everything that comes out of the bar and kitchen is fresh, flavorful, and a delight. Whether you're craving a quick bite or a full meal, their menu delivers on quality. What makes the experience even better is the attentive and friendly staff. The service is excellent, making sure you feel welcome and well looked after from the moment you sit down. The undisputed highlight is the Sunday Jazz evening. There is nothing quite like enjoying a meal and a drink under the stars while listening to fantastic live music. It transforms the already lovely garden into a magical, unforgettable experience. If you’re in Colombo, do yourself a favor and make time for a visit. It’s the perfect spot for lunch, a chill afternoon, or a lively Sunday night.

The cafe also features an outdoor terrace and a shop selling ethical Sri Lankan souvenirs. Emphasizing healthy, sustainable living, Cafe Kumbuk uses fresh, local produce for its ever-changing menu.
Gorgeous little cafe tucked away near the museum. Had the prawn taco and a passion-mint tea - the flavours were amazing. They really use local flavours with fan favourite dishes. Harith, who was serving made great reccomendations and was so kind. I really reccommend this cafe for a relaxed lunch or if ypu need to remote work for a few hours.

If you’re looking for a cozy little escape from the city’s hustle, this café is the perfect spot. Tucked away in the middle of Colombo, it blends comfort and nature beautifully while serving up food that truly delights. Since the day they opened, they’ve stayed true to their concept and branding, which I really admire. The menu has something for everyone, including vegans, and the variety is impressive. The staff is friendly, service is good, and the food is consistently tasty. From their current menu, I have to say the mango pancakes are an absolute favorite of mine — highly recommended! It’s definitely a place I’d love to visit again and again. One small suggestion for the management: the outdoor seating area tends to attract a few mosquitoes and flies. Maybe adding some bug-repellent plants could help make it even more enjoyable. Other than that, everything is spot on.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The atmosphere was cozy and charming, with a lovely wooden interior that made it feel both relaxed and welcoming. The highlight, though, was the food. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made—from the crisp greens to the flavorful meat and the deliciously runny yolk. Even the coffee was great—smooth, rich, and served with care. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a delicious and satisfying brunch! Will definitely be returning.

What a great little hideaway. I had a great lunch/coffee. Raj waited on me and provided an excellent recommendation when I asked for something unique and refreshing. The island cooler he brought me was perfect for the warm afternoon. The coffee here was also very good. I was looking for a quality afternoon coffee after a very weak coffee at breakfast and Cafe Kumbuk delivered with a top notch flat white. Highly recommend.

Excellent and tasty food using local fresh ingredients, thoughtfully presented. Served with a smile in a delightful plant-filled courtyard setting. We visited the place for dinner. We ordered some cheese hoppers, and they were delicious and worth the money. However, the roasted chicken kottu we ordered was not as expected. It was a little too juicy, and the taste was not good. We were disappointed with the quality of the kottu, and the chili paste served was absolute rubbish. If you’re looking for kottu, this is definitely not the place. I wouldn’t recommend it at all. But the hoppers were good.

Monsoon Colombo is a vibrant restaurant located at the end of Park Street Mews, offering a delightful Southeast Asian dining experience. The airy and leaf-filled eatery provides an ideal setting for a romantic evening or a gathering with friends. The decor is on point, complemented by boozy cocktails and delicious dishes such as spicy sea bass, black pepper tofu, prawns wrapped in fried vermicelli noodles, fresh spring rolls, and Tom Yam Goong.
Monsoon Colombo is an absolute standout when it comes to dining in the city. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the stylish and welcoming atmosphere—modern yet warm, with thoughtful décor that sets the perfect mood for a relaxed yet elevated dining experience. The food was exceptional. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. The menu offers a wonderful mix of Southeast Asian influences, and it’s clear that a lot of care goes into the selection of ingredients and balance of flavors. Whether you’re a fan of bold spices or more subtle, fragrant dishes, there’s something for everyone. We particularly loved how fresh everything tasted. Equally impressive was the service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. They offered helpful recommendations and made sure our experience was seamless from start to finish. It’s rare to find that perfect combination of great food and top-notch service, but Monsoon nails it effortlessly. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Colombo, Monsoon is a must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable meal in a vibrant, comfortable setting. We’ll definitely be coming back for more!

At first glance, from the outside it doesn’t look like there’s much here – just a narrow lane with some tables. But once you step inside, it’s actually quite nice. The interior has a cozy vibe with exposed brick walls, stylish seating, and a modern setup. It feels casual but also a bit trendy. The food looks good – classic Asian comfort dishes. Presentation is neat, and portions seem filling. it’s just okay — nothing really special or memorable. Not bad, but not something I’d go out of my way for. The service team was very poor, and I’m not happy with the experience Overall, it’s one of those spots where you don’t expect much from the outside, but inside it’s surprisingly pleasant and worth a try.

🌟 An unforgettable dining experience at Monsoon – Park Street 🌟 From the moment I stepped into Monsoon, I felt like I’d been transported into a world of serenity. The calm, soothing ambience instantly stole my heart, and every little detail—from the décor to the music—seemed designed to make you slow down, relax, and simply enjoy the moment. The food was a beautiful fusion of Thai, Singaporean, and Malaysian flavours—each dish bursting with taste, beautifully presented, served in generous portions, and prepared with such care that you can feel the chef’s passion in every bite. Chef Thushara is truly an artist in the kitchen. What really makes Monsoon stand out is the hospitality. Manager Chris and the entire Monsoon team treat you like royalty—warm smiles, genuine care, and the kind of service that makes you feel at home while still feeling pampered. The soft, calming music in the background adds another layer to the experience, creating the perfect atmosphere for mingling with friends or sharing a quiet, meaningful meal with loved ones. If you want a dining experience that’s more than just food—something that touches all your senses—Monsoon is the place. I can say with all my heart, this is a 100% recommendation. Once you visit, you’ll fall in love, just like I did. ♥️

The one star is solely for the taste of the Laksa and service. Otherwise, the dish I ordered was subpar, with only two prawns. I don’t know of any restaurant that serves just two prawns for the price they charge. While the service was good, food is the main reason I visit a restaurant. If I wanted to eat just a plate of rice, I’d rather do that at home than pay for it here.

The Cricket Club Café, located in Colombo, is a colonial-style restaurant that celebrates Sri Lanka's favorite sport, cricket. The café is housed in a small colonial villa and is adorned with autographed bats and pictures of famous cricket stars from Sri Lanka and Australia. It offers top-notch dining and is a popular spot for cricket enthusiasts to watch matches. The themed restaurant features an impressive collection of cricket memorabilia, including bats, balls, gloves, posters, and newspaper articles related to the sport.
I love this place. The ambience (and the cricket memorabilia) is almost like gallery. The service is great and the hosts are best in class. The choice of food on the menu is quite extensive and all are good. But don’t go without the pavlova with mango and passionfruit compote.

"I visited the Cricket Club Café for dinner last night with my wife, and was thoroughly disappointed with the quality of the food. Having been a loyal patron since its Alfred Place days, it was disheartening to notice such a drastic decline. What was once a go-to spot for consistently good meals now seems to have lost its charm — both in taste and quality. I truly hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works toward restoring the standards that made the Cricket Club a favorite for so many of us over the years."

I was very disappointed.😑😑 The seafood they served us was so dry that it was inedible🦀. The french fries they gave us were so burnt that they were inedible. 🍟 When we asked the reason, they said it was the nature of this food.🙄🤷 Likewise, the chicken bite they gave us could not be used as a snack at all. It was better eaten with something like rice or bread. They charged us over 23,000 rupees for such poor food and service. However, after we argued with them, they reduced the bill to 15,000 rupees. This restaurant fails to provide value for money and satisfy customers. * No parking 🅿️ * Toilet facilities are available 🚽 * BYOB 🍾🍺 * Smoking is allowed 🚬 * Food is available for dining and takeaway

I am very disappointed in your restaurant. It took hours to complete my order because your menu is not updated. You sent water-based potions in a paper box that leaked almost everything. Don’t you have the common sense to include a lunch sheet in your packaging? Additionally, I only received 10 pieces of cuttlefish for the large portion, which feels very cheap. If you want to be this cheap, perhaps you should reconsider being in business. Overall, I am really disappointed. Do not ever buy from this place

We had a great time at this place! We booked the upstairs dining area for a private function and it was super spacious. They let us decorate it however we wanted, which was awesome. The food was totally worth the price - everything tasted amazing. We could play our own music and weren't bothered at all. The staff downstairs were always on hand if we needed anything, and the manager was really helpful and checked in on us a lot. We stayed till 11:45 PM and they even offered to take down all our decorations afterwards. Highly recommended!

Avoid This Restaurant – A Complete Waste of Money Our visit to this restaurant was an extremely disappointing experience. I went with my family for dinner and we ordered the mixed grill, mixed seafood, and grilled chicken. Unfortunately, none of the dishes were worth the high prices they charged. The portion sizes were shockingly small. The grilled chicken looked more like a kids’ meal, yet we were charged full price. The mixed grill and seafood were even worse – the meat was burnt, and all we got were small, overcooked pieces served with basic French fries. I couldn’t believe they charged more than 13000 LKR for such poorly prepared food. The mixed seafood dish was bland and lacked even basic seasoning like salt. It was completely tasteless. When we raised our concerns with the staff, they didn’t take them seriously and showed no intention of making things right. It felt like they were used to receiving complaints and just didn’t care. To make matters worse, the washrooms were filthy and poorly maintained, with broken doors – absolutely unacceptable for any restaurant. Despite showing them the burnt food and expressing our dissatisfaction, we were still charged the full amount. There was no apology or effort to resolve the issue. I honestly don’t know how this place is still in business given the poor quality of food, lack of hygiene, and terrible customer service. Please do not waste your time or your hard-earned money here. Extremely disappointed – I will never recommend this place to anyone.

We recently visited this place and had a great time. I highly recommend it for group outings. The food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable. They also allow you to bring liquor from outside, which is a great plus.

One of the Best Restaurants in Colombo – A Must Visit! 🌟 I had an absolutely fantastic experience at this restaurant – truly one of the best dining spots in Colombo! The food was outstanding, and every dish was a burst of flavor. The highlight for me was the Tomato Basil Soup – a must-try! Rich, creamy, and full of depth – it’s easily the best I’ve ever had. The rest of the meal was equally amazing. From the starters to the mains, everything was cooked to perfection, and the taste was simply unforgettable. And let’s not forget the desserts – pure heaven! Each bite was indulgent and beautifully presented, with flavors that truly blew me away. I’m so happy to share a video of this incredible experience – it’s a place that deserves all the love and attention. Don’t miss out if you’re in Colombo! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommended!

Recently I visited this place and believe me this is a hidden gem with great food and vibes. I tried the crispy chicken bagel, and it was absolutely delicious — super crunchy, juicy, and packed with flavor. The side chips were light and crispy, a perfect match. The ambiance is what really makes this place special — cozy, creative, and full of charm. Beautiful decor, hanging plants, woven placemats, and warm lighting give it a relaxed, earthy feel. Service was friendly, and everything was well presented. Definitely a spot I’d come back to! 🌿🥯✨

This place is my go to for brunch! It’s simply one of the best places in Colombo in terms of food, the atmosphere and the employees! Their food is always so good and presented so well! Sometimes too pretty to eat haha. The staff is so welcoming, and kind and they actually attempt to cater to any needs that you may have. They’re so polite as well. Would definitely recommend this place to locals and foreigners!

Excellent food, attentive service in a gorgeous setting. We went for lunch but I’ve seen pictures of the lighting at dinner which is also beautiful. The shade, abundant plants and fountains make it a true urban oasis and a delicious one at that! 10/10 for Colombo. Bring bug spray though, it is an outdoors restaurant. If you forget it, they provide some too.

An excellent restaurant, tucked away down a small road, off Jawatte Road, Col 5. The food and service were excellent and the friendly owners checked on our table twice too. We had beef teriyaki with mashed potatoes, -the beef was lovely and tender. We also had breaded tiger prawns and fried egg in a wrap with cassava chips.

Japanese restaurant
Nihonbashi By Dharshan is a Japanese restaurant located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The name "Nihonbashi" translates to Japan Bridge. This restaurant beautifully combines Japanese and Sri Lankan culinary traditions in a modern urban setting. Visitors can expect a fantastic dining experience with an inviting ambiance. Be sure to try their signature dishes for an unforgettable taste of Japanese cuisine.
A true gem in Colombo! Nihonbashi by Dharshan offers an authentic and refined Japanese dining experience, right in the heart of Sri Lanka. From the beautifully crafted sushi and sashimi to the subtle flavors in every dish, the quality and attention to detail are exceptional. The ambiance is elegant and calm — perfect for a quiet dinner or special occasion. The service was impeccable, with staff who clearly know the menu and are happy to make recommendations. If you're a fan of Japanese cuisine or simply looking for a top-tier dining experience, Nihonbashi is a must-visit. Make a reservation ahead of time, especially on weekends — this place is popular for good reason!
Hushra — Google review
Nihonbashi delivers an outstanding Japanese dining experience in Colombo. The food is bursting with flavor, and I have to give a special mention to the pork belly, it was simply exceptional, one of the best I’ve ever had anywhere in the world. Every bite felt like a masterclass in how pork belly should be prepared. The cocktail menu is another highlight. Unlike many places in Sri Lanka where cocktails tend to be light on both flavor and alcohol, Nihonbashi gets it right. The drinks here are strong, well-balanced, and absolutely worth the price. It’s refreshing to find a place where you feel you’re getting real value for your money with every sip. That said, there are a couple of points to keep in mind. The prices are on the higher side for Sri Lankan standards, but to be fair, the quality of both food and drinks fully justifies it. Also, like in many restaurants across the island, service can be a little slow at times, especially when it comes to drinks. A faster turnaround would take the whole experience to the next level. Overall, Nihonbashi is a must-visit for anyone looking for top-quality Japanese cuisine paired with great cocktails in Colombo.

My wife and I visited Nihonbashi By Dharshan some time ago, and it was a memorable experience. The ambience is cozy and elegant, perfect for a relaxed meal together. The food is fantastic authentic Japanese flavors, beautifully presented, and fresh. My wife loved her dish, and I was equally impressed with mine. It is on the pricier side, but the quality of the food and overall experience make it worth it. The restaurant is managed very well, with smooth service and attention to detail. Highly recommended if you want a special Japanese dining experience in Colombo.

Had an exceptional dining experience at Nihonbashi Japanese Restaurant. Food is authentic, beautifully prepared, and has real Japanese flavors. The highlight was the real Wagyu-perfectly cooked, tender, full of flavor. Every dish reflected great attention to detail and quality. Then, after dinner, we reached the stylish and laid-back open-air bar called LIT Lost in Translation. It has creative, well-balanced signature cocktails, plus an impressive sake, wine, and whisky collection. A great place to wind up after a fabulous meal. Highly recommended to those who enjoy traditional Japanese food and a world-class bar experience.

Every dish was beautifully presented and full of authentic Japanese flavor, with a creative Sri Lankan twist. The sushi was fresh and delicate, and the hot dishes were perfectly seasoned and satisfying. You can tell that a lot of care and expertise goes into each plate. The service was also excellent, polite, professional, and attentive without being overbearing. It really added to the overall experience., If you're in Colombo and love Japanese cuisine, Nihonbashi by Dharshan is a must-visit. It’s a great spot for a special night out or simply to enjoy a peaceful, high-end meal with amazing flavors.

Food was great, very tasty. Service was good. But prices are extremely expensive and somewhat unexpected. The extra charges are not very clear. The total bill for us for 2x people came to 18,527LKR. Of which the food itself according to the menu was 13,800 and the rest are a range of charges (service charge, vat, sscl, tdl...). If you are rich and don't mind the cost, then can recommend this place. But probably not recommendable for most hard working people. The Gyu Saikoro steak was quite nice.

Black Cat Cafe + Stay is a charming spot in Colombo, known for its homemade ginger beer and pet-friendly policy. Situated in the upscale Cinnamon Gardens, this establishment is housed in a beautifully restored 1920s mansion. The cafe's interior exudes a minimalist, vintage-cool vibe that patrons love. In addition to serving coffee made from locally roasted beans, Black Cat Cafe also offers bed and breakfast accommodation, making it a convenient choice for travelers looking for a cozy place to stay.
I was looking for a quiet spot to have coffee and unwind after a long day, and this cafe did not disappoint. The service was great, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The coffee was good, and the atmosphere felt welcoming and cozy. It’s a very chill space, almost like a little safe haven away from the chaos outside. Would definitely come back when I need a breather

We visited Black Cat Cafe for a cup of coffee. And flat white was beyond expectations. It was really "hot" (I prefer my coffee to be that hot so I can slowly dig into it otherwise it will be at the room temperature within seconds). Also it comes with a little chocolate cookie which has a white chocolate core. The staff was helpful and friendly. We were treated well. I do not know that boy's name (curly haired) who served us, but I wanted to appreciate his gentleman's gesture that he deliberately passed my boyfriend to serve me first. Felt like a lady. Parking space is limited.

Stopped by for a coffee on a Sunday afternoon and tried their popular flat white coffee. Flat white has a decent aroma and flavour. Service was decent. They charged me an extra 20% for dining in when paying by card, which I found exorbitant and unreasonable. The ambience was cozy and relaxing however, at the time of my visit, most the tables were occupied by foreigners working on their laptops.

We were waiting for our friends in a cafe. Such a chill spot. Great coffee, lots of character, and the vibe was super relaxed. The walls are full of cool vintage posters, there's a shelf packed with books. Perfect for working, reading, or just taking a break. There is also an outside terrace. Definitely coming back.
Galit S — Google review
Very authentic cafe with a vintage-artsy vibe. The menu is surprisingly wide for such a small place, which is good 👍 Coffee is excellent, 5/5. Not a huge selection of desserts, but what they have is good. There’s also a cozy outdoor seating area. Tried the Black beef burger. Not bad, but heads up, they’re tiny. You’ll probably want two 😄

Get ready to feel right at home in this café. The coffee is excellent—whether you choose an Americano or a flat white. I especially love their beef burger, roast chicken salad, and pastas. With a focus on perfectly cooked fish, lobsters, and shrimps prepared in over 150 ways with 30 different sauces, this restaurant offers a diverse and delectable menu. The Lagoon at Cinnamon Grand is hands down one of the best places in Colombo for seafood lovers. The selection of fresh seafood on display is simply outstanding, and you get to choose exactly what you want and how you want it prepared. The baked crab was absolutely amazing, bursting with flavor, and the oysters with cheese were nothing short of heavenly. Almost everything is priced per 100 grams, so it can be a little on the pricey side, but for the quality, taste, and overall experience, it’s worth indulging in once in a while. A must-visit if you’re craving top-notch seafood in the city!

The Lagoon is a wonderful experience! It’s expensive but worth treating yourself at least once. The food is fresh and flavorful and I love that you can choose your protein before it is prepared. You can also choose how it is prepared (i.e.: grilled, steamed, fried etc) and you can choose the sauce it’s prepared in. The staff is so friendly and helpful and they are great about giving suggestions. The sides are all delicious as are the drinks - you cannot go wrong no matter what you choose. I wish I knew everyone’s names because they are all so friendly but our last waiter was Priyanga and he was a lot of fun! Truly a 5 star experience!

The Lagoon – A Must-Visit for Seafood Lovers in Colombo Located inside the Cinnamon Grand Colombo, The Lagoon is tucked away just past the right side of “Chutneys” (formerly “Cares”)—step out into the garden area and head down to find the entrance. This elegant seafood restaurant offers a wide and fresh selection of fish, shellfish, and crustaceans. The unique part? You choose exactly what you want from the display—prawns, lobsters, crab, tuna, cuttlefish, and more—along with your preferred cooking style (grilled, fried, steamed, curried, etc.) and sauce or seasoning. Prices are very reasonable for the quality: most items are priced per 100 grams, generally between 2,000–3,000 LKR depending on the type. The staff are exceptionally professional and attentive, helping with recommendations and making sure your experience is smooth from start to finish. The setting is refined yet relaxed, making it perfect for both casual seafood feasts and special evenings out. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a premium seafood experience in Colombo.

The food is average. We went for buffet lunch. The spread could have been better. Very limited selection. We orderd a grilled lobster, not up to the expectation level. Overall experience good..

I came to The Lagoon as a group , collectively we ordered sautéed scallops , crab claws , sesame prawns , white curry with fish, thick coconut gravy with cuttlefish , fenugreek curry with prawns , fried rice , fried noodles , wok fried veg, Thai omlette and roast paan. The scallops and curries were all delicious along with the fried rice . The roast paan was rock solid and the crab claws and sesame prawns are okay. The cocktails I tried were nice but they did get the order wrong . Also when receiving the bill, they had accidentally added another tables order into our bill which we then rectified.

Prawn & Chicken/Chives dumplings were fresh and good. Xiao Long Bao were made with coconut oil bath. Sichuan Double Roasted were made for Srilankan taste palette. This used to be my favourite authentic Chinese food place. Not any more & I think business moved to match Srilankan taste. Later Tofu with Red-bean sauce was served without red beans & mango sago to complement. Don’t keep high hopes - there are better places in Colombo. Oh yes 3rd left side elevator not working as well.
Ruwan D — Google review
I’m a fan of Shang Palace and was happy to discover that they have a well-rated one in Colombo. After a few days of tasty local cuisine, I felt that we could do with a good-quality Chinese lunch. To start, the restaurant was beautifully decorated with a very nice view of the city and the sea. Service was impeccable and friendly, I appreciated the hot oolong tea being served as we were seated. They have a Hakka Chef from Fujian who had on offer an interesting menu with a few signature dishes, but unfortunately my daughter only wanted to eat dim sum so I had to skip them. I would also love to taste one of their many crab dishes, but that would have to be for another occasion. If you were alone they had a simple trolley with 4 types of dim sum where you could order a piece or 2 without having to order full baskets. We ordered a variety of dim sum as well as an egg fried rice and have to say most of them were excellent. The egg fried rice was one of the best I’ve had (and I’ve eaten this dish through Asia and Europe) and it tasted good even cold the next day. The Cantonese-style dim sum (e.g. har gau, siumai, cheongfun) were finely-made, but I have to say that their Shanghai-style items like the Xiaolongbao and especially the shengjianbao (more like a big pork bun) could really be improved. It was a very pleasant and delicious lunch, with great service in a beautiful environment, and the prices were reasonable.

For those seeking a genuine Indian dining experience in Colombo, The Mango Tree is highly recommended.

The ambience is pleasant, clean, and service was timely. Food quality was decent, but for two people, the bill shocked me ₨.4650 for Mutton Biriyani alone. Even five-star buffets don’t charge this much per person. There wasn’t any standout taste to justify the price. For the first time, I felt the cost was unjustified. I’d recommend visiting only if the total bill is under ₨4000. Dear Management: please reconsider your pricing. We are locals, not tourists—such high costs could drive away regular customers. Reasonable pricing is key to sustaining your business.

Nestled along the stunning shores of the Indian Ocean, the Ocean Seafood Restaurant at Kingsbury offers a remarkable dining experience that combines breathtaking views with culinary artistry. As you savor dishes crafted from an array of fresh seafood like oysters, lobsters, and salmon, you'll be captivated by the chefs' live cooking demonstrations. The restaurant's elegant interior radiates sophistication and charm, making it a perfect spot for a romantic evening out.
My fiancé and I popped into Ocean Seafood Restaurant for lunch on a weekday, and it was a pleasant experience overall. As expected for a weekday, the place was very calm and quiet with hardly any crowd, which suited us perfectly since we were looking for a relaxed, low-key meal. The ambiance was soothing—nothing fancy, but comfortable enough for a casual bite. We decided to skip the traditional buffet and went for the à la carte menu instead, as we wanted something quick and tailored to our tastes. We ordered the seafood fried rice and a mac n cheese, and both dishes hit the spot. The seafood fried rice was packed with flavor—fresh, well-seasoned, and loaded with tasty bits of seafood that made every bite enjoyable. The mac n cheese was a pleasant surprise too; creamy, cheesy, and perfectly comforting without being overly heavy. For a quick lunch, the portions were just right, and the food came out fast, which we appreciated. The service was another highlight—super friendly and attentive without hovering. The staff made us feel welcome and checked in just enough to ensure we were happy with everything. It’s not often you get that level of warmth for a simple weekday meal, so kudos to the team for that. Overall, Ocean Seafood Restaurant is a solid choice for a quick, tasty bite in a laid-back setting. It’s not a blow-your-mind kind of spot, but it delivers on good food and friendly service, especially if you’re in the mood for seafood or a no-fuss lunch. We’d definitely consider stopping by again when we’re in the area and craving something simple yet satisfying.

Lovely sea food restaurant for fine dining. Food was amazing. Prices a bit high which is however expected with sea food. You can select your fish from display or pick from the menu it’s fresh and well prepared. The place is family friendly and atmosphere is very elegant and charming with spacious seating areas. Staff was nice and professional, But Sometimes service was a bit slow but maybe can be overlooked if they were understaffed that day. Overall a good experience.

I had the pleasure of dining here while in town for a JW Special Convention, and it was such a great experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff was attentive from start to finish. The food was freshly made—you even select your own fish and choose how you’d like it prepared. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted even better than it looked. Drinks were perfectly balanced, and everyone in our group left completely satisfied. Highly recommend!

The modern aesthetics and the frozen seafood displayed within a cubicle are certainly the star of the restaurant. There is a solid variety of dishes, including beverages to choose from, but the prices are not entirely worth some of the dishes served. It is disappointing to mention that the fish was slightly overcooked as well as the squid. The quantity could be a bit more, but I suppose it's more about the experience than the food itself. However, the other dishes were flavourful and well presented. The customer service wasn't too bad apart from being clumsy twice they are more than happy to assist you. Overall, it was a classy dining experience with good seafood to savour.

Best seafood restaurant in Colombo and surely one of the best I’ve been. Delicious seafood that you choose on the counter and ask to be prepared as you wish. Staff extremely helpful on suggesting different recipes. I couldn’t recommend more. No need to be hosted in the hotel, which is also very cozy. Very reasonable prices.

🌊 Ocean Seafood Restaurant – A Must-Visit for Seafood Lovers! If you're passionate about seafood, Ocean Seafood Restaurant at The Kingsbury is a dream come true. I visited for dinner and was instantly impressed by the elegant ambiance and the mouthwatering aroma of spices in the air. 🦀 Crabs Galore – You can indulge in crab dishes to your heart’s content. Their Sri Lankan-style crab curry is rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. Paired with Ros bread and Pol sambol, it creates a harmony of taste that truly matches the mood of a coastal culinary escape. 🍸 Cocktail Delight – I tried one of their cocktails, and it had a smooth, refined liquor taste that complemented the meal beautifully. The restaurant also offers a wide selection of liquor options to suit every palate. 🍰 Sweet Ending – Don’t skip dessert! Their sweet offerings are just as impressive, rounding off the meal with a satisfying finish. 📸 Atmosphere & Experience – The setting is chic yet cozy, ideal for a relaxed dinner or a special night out. With views of the port city and attentive service, it’s more than just a meal—it’s an experience. ✅ Verdict – Whether you're a local or visiting Colombo, Ocean Seafood Restaurant is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be going back!

Ocean Seafood Restaurant at the Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo is a wonderful spot to enjoy a relaxed and elegant dining experience. The spacious and cozy setting makes it perfect for a quiet meal or a good conversation with friends. The interior design is tasteful and gives the place a high-end feel, while the surrounding view adds to the pleasant atmosphere. I’ve visited twice, and on both occasions, it wasn’t crowded, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The food is served promptly and tastes great. The hot butter mushroom dish and the strawberry mojito, in particular, stood out – both were absolutely delicious. The service is excellent, with plenty of staff available at all times. They are attentive and quick to respond to any request, making you feel well taken care of throughout your visit.

On August 1, we (a party of 2), arrived at the restaurant at 8:45pm and were swiftly moved to a nice table overlooking the pool. The presiding manager (whose name I forgot) guided me in selecting fresh fish, accompaniments, and style of preparation. When the food arrived, it looked very enticing and the waiter served us the rice, vegetables, and fish to get us started. What an amazing preparation, it was delicious from the first to the last bite, finishing off with amazing desserts. Kudos to the manager, waiting staff, attending staff, and not forgetting the chefs, we walked away fully satisfied knowing we wish to be back for more.

Noodles, located in the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, is a unique dining experience that combines Sri Lankan hospitality with East Asian cuisine. The restaurant features an open-floor kitchen where skilled chefs prepare custom-made East Asian dishes and classic signature meals. While not exclusively vegetarian or vegan, Noodles offers a wide range of Far Eastern-based dishes and allows for customization to cater to various dietary preferences. This flexibility ensures that diners have plenty of options to choose from when enjoying their meal at this establishment.
Amazing atmosphere and great food👌 Went for dinner with family and had a great time. The waiter was generous enough to give me 2 year old nephew a completely fried rice dish which was amazing. They serve a range of noodles varieties and good is delicious. Overall great food & great service. With taxes & service charge a decent meal will cost around 3,500-4,500 per person

Really nice food. Some of the starter portions are pretty small but it’s starters. Preparation time seems little longer but the outcome is pretty satisfying. Let’s not forget the restaurant located in a 5* property when it comes to pricing. Valet parking cost you lkr 300 bucks as well.

I recently tried the Cherry Blossom cocktail, and it was amazing! I loved every bit of it. This place is always a favorite spot for me. The prices are quite reasonable, making fine dining a lot more affordable without compromising on quality service. The portions are always extra generous, and my favorite, the chicken dumplings, disappeared before I could even capture them in the pics. Highly recommended!

It was a good experience! I wouldn’t say exceptional, but it was good. Expensive with 7k in taxes and service charges, and the total bill came up to 27k for two people. Food is warm and flavorful, ambiance is good with the service being friendly and easy. Go for cocktails, they have some good selections. I enjoyed the Dodola (image attached), it was really good. If you can’t get your order right, you will have a good meal! I enjoyed mine and would recommend it to anyone! Cheers!

Noodles taste really good and drinks are superb. As well as the quality of food, service quality matters too. The manager at the place was not very welcoming when we said we didn't make a prior reservation. The customer who's already at the restaurant is more important than the one that you are expecting.

European restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Central Colombo, The Bavarian German Restaurant and Pub is a beloved destination for those craving authentic German and European cuisine. This vibrant eatery has gained fame for its delectable Pork Knuckle paired with refreshing beer, alongside mouthwatering steaks that are not to be missed. While it may lean towards the pricier side for an evening out, the experience is well worth it.
We visited the Bavarian German Restaurant on a weekend. It was busy and packed with people and the atmosphere was lively. The menu contained wide variety of authentic German dishes and the cocktail menu was extensive as well. Food was excellent and good quality. The service was good as well.

Have been to Germany twice and this felt like being back in Bavaria. The food was extremely delicious and we went back a second time upon returning to Colombo. They had 2 German beers available, and our waiter even taught us how to get the rest of the flavor out of our dunkelweissen beer. I highly recommend the pork schnitzel jager style and don’t skip the homemade spaetzle. Head’s up, they referred to them as noodles- but they’re legit. The creme brulee was absolutely fantastic. Great value for authentic German fare.

Colombo Bavarian German Restaurant – A Hidden Gem Colombo offers a delightful twist on traditional Bavarian German cuisine, combining authentic flavors with a modern touch. The dishes are not only unique and thoughtfully prepared but also offer excellent value for money. Each plate showcases a balance of hearty, comforting flavors and creative presentation. Their cocktail menu is equally impressive, featuring some deliciously crafted drinks that complement the food perfectly. The atmosphere is laid-back and inviting, making it a great spot to unwind and enjoy good food and drinks with friends. A must-visit for anyone craving a chill vibe and something different on the culinary scene.

The starters were amazing. The mocktails were refreshing. But we were so disappointed with the main course. The baked crab was soggy and mashed up. The two sirloin steaks were the wrong cut and so chewy. Medium rare is supposed to melt in your mouth but this steak was rubbery, chewy and horrible to eat. Quite disappointed to experience that from a well known German restaurant.

I recently dined at The Bavarian and was thoroughly impressed! From the moment I walked in, the aroma hinted at something special. The food itself was nothing short of amazing, bursting with authentic flavors and clearly made with the freshest ingredients. Each dish felt genuinely homemade, a true comfort food experience. What really elevated the meal was the superb customer service – attentive, friendly, and truly welcoming. All of this, combined with very reasonable prices, makes The Bavarian a must-visit. Keep up the excellent work!

Perched thirty floors above the bustling city of Colombo, Virticle by Jetwing offers an unparalleled dining experience with stunning views of the Indian Ocean. The restaurant takes pride in using locally sourced ingredients from Sri Lanka's organic farms and suppliers to create a diverse menu that celebrates both local and international flavors.
I had a wonderful experience at Verticle by Jetwing. The food and drinks were truly exceptional—each dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The cocktails stood out in particular: creatively crafted and perfectly balanced, showcasing real mixology expertise. Four standout dishes for me were the ambarella gazpacho, lotus root salad, crispy pork and the slow cooked beef cheek—all fresh, flavorful, and unique in execution. Service was another highlight. Roshan, our waiter, was proactive, warm, and impressively knowledgeable about the menu. His recommendations were spot on and added greatly to our overall enjoyment. Kanishka, the manager, also deserves special mention. His professionalism and sense of hospitality reflect the high standards that Jetwing is known for. It's clear that the operations at Verticle are run with care, precision, and a strong guest-centric approach. The interior is beautifully designed, creating an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere. From the rooftop, there's a stunning panoramic view of the city, including a clear sight of the iconic Lotus Tower. The rooftop bar has a great vibe—perfect for unwinding with a cocktail while enjoying the skyline. Highly recommended for anyone seeking elevated dining in a refined yet welcoming atmosphere.

The staff were super friendly (thanks again for the photos haha), and the food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!👌

Virticle by Jetwing is an absolute hidden gem in the heart of Colombo — perfect for a romantic date night or special celebration. The ambiance is elegant and intimate, with soft lighting, warm interiors, and romantic saxophone music playing in the background that set the tone beautifully. I went with my partner to celebrate his birthday, and everything from the service to the food was impeccable. We started with the shrimp soup and crispy Nelum Ala salad — both incredibly fresh and flavourful. For mains, we had the freshwater jumbo prawn and Rankahawanu — each dish was rich in taste, beautifully presented, and perfectly portioned. The staff were warm, attentive, and highly professional. I had discreetly handed over a candle earlier and asked them to bring it out with dessert — they executed it perfectly, surprising my partner while playing “Happy Birthday” in the background. It was such a lovely, thoughtful touch. Special thanks to Shan, the supervisor, who treated us to coffee and cashew ice cream on the house — it was creamy, aromatic, and a wonderful way to end the meal. The views of Colombo from the restaurant are absolutely breathtaking, and after dinner we were able to step out onto the balcony and even enjoy the deck area, which had a lively, relaxed vibe — perfect for those who want to continue the evening in style. This was one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve had in Colombo. Highly recommended for couples, special occasions, or anyone looking to enjoy top-tier cuisine in a high-end, romantic setting.

Each course was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The unique cocktails were just as impressive and added something special to the evening. Beach Wadiya is a renowned beachfront restaurant in Colombo, known for its abundant seafood supply and massive seafood platters. It has a no-frills style of cooking that emphasizes simple but flavorful authentic Sri Lankan classics. The restaurant has been a popular hangout for over four decades and still retains its old charm, attracting both locals and foreigners. Beach Wadiya is famous for its super cool local beer and Hot Buttered Calamari served as a tapas dish.
From the outside, the restaurant doesn't look like much, but choose a table on the beach and enjoy a nice chilled Lion lager while enjoying the cool sea breeze. The waiters will bring out the days catch still fresh on a platter for you to choose and decide how you want it cooked. The food was fresh and delicious and I highly recommend you try this restaurant if you are in town.

From the road Beach Wadiya looks run down, but cross the train tracks, and you a get warm and friendly welcome from the staff. We just wanted to grab a sunbed and have a few drinks, beers were cold, lime juice fresh and sweet and the view is to die for. We didn't eat this time but the food that came out from the kitchen looked and smelt lovely and no one was complaining. The beach was clean and tidy which was a bonus.

Had dinner at Beach Wadiya, Colombo and loved it. Tried the oysters, devilled fish, and grilled prawns — all super fresh and full of flavor. Cool vibes and awesome beach views. Definitely worth checking out if you are into seafood.
Saad S — Google review
I had seafood soup and fish fillet with mashed potato. Both dishes tasty, but extremely small portions. I got oysters and I didn't like them. Too bittersih. It's laid back atmosphere. But they could clean their part from garbage. Looks filthy. The waiter should gain more language skills. It is pricey the quality of the service. Do not recommend.
Dragan R — Google review
It was a delicious seafood dinner of dishes cooked simply, keeping the original flavour of the dishes intact (instead of piling it with a lot of sauces and oils!. We had the Prawn Soup, 2 portions of Oysters with lime and a dash of hot sauce (yum!), 1kg grilled whole fish (from the day’s fresh catch), and a salad as an accompaniment.👏👏 Service and cleanliness was very good. However they need to work on ambient lighting, do something about the cats who try to climb on chairs (!!), and maybe add some light music to enhance the mood. 🙂
Dilrukshi F — Google review
The view from this restaurant was breathtaking and staff was very kind. We weren’t very happy about fried seafood, but oysters were delicious.
Tereza F — Google review
Such a disappointment. We went over for dinner. The wait was so long! Over an hour. The food was absolutely awful! So salty! You can’t eat anything! Every single dish was salty. Even after complaining that the food was not good, there was no manager to be seen. When asked the waiter for the manager he said he’s only there during afternoons. Then asked the cashier who claimed to be the manager. They re-served the fried rice, a prawn dish and kangkung which was comparatively less salty yet not up to restaurant standards and was still so bad. When the second set of prawns came in, they weren’t cleaned. Disgusting! Wouldn’t recommend to anyone who has tastebuds.

The place has both indoor and outdoor dining facilities. There's a soothing background score running. The menu has breakfasts running till 2pm. It also has starters, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers and mains. The desserts are limited to a few, but good. The smoked chicken burger with salad was really good. Would recommend trying it once. The avocado milkshake was good. The sausage based starter was yum.

Ample choices!!! Yes! You name it they got it. Great location love the atmosphere they have created. Looks lovely in the night with street lights and everything. Ample parking space at the back. (Finding the parking area is a bit tricky and challenging). Love the furniture, the rustic look adds greater glamour. Most of the restaurants are not Air conditioned but they got fans and stuff. Perfect place to hang with your friends and family. Food was great and tasty. But only down side was the pricing. You are look at about 2500+ if you get a main, drink/beverage and share a appetizer with a friend. So yeah expensive!! But i must tell you its kinda worth it. They do give free bed and butter with olive oil, good stuff. Clean and tidy bathrooms. Must try the spicy cheese toast, high recommended. Beverages are average and i hv had better. Overall great experience and would definitely recommend. Better in the night with lights!!

Sri Lankan restaurant
Culture Colombo, a recent addition to the dining scene in the Sri Lankan capital, is housed in a renovated old-school building. The restaurant serves an array of traditional dishes such as rice and curry, hoppers, string hoppers, and buriyani. Notably, the buriyani is presented in a hollowed-out bamboo stick, adding an element of fun to the dining experience.
I visited Culture Ceylon this Monday for dinner and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant has a beautiful ambience and a peaceful environment. Customer service is excellent, even the security uncle was very polite and friendly. I wouldn’t recommend sitting outside due to vehicle noise and mosquitos, but indoors it’s perfect. I ordered the items below. Chicken Kottu (5/5) Bamboo Chicken Biryani (5/5) Coffee Caramel Pudding (5/5) All were absolutely delicious. I also got a takeaway Kottu which was neatly packaged. The location is also very photogenic, making it a great place to enjoy with family and friends.

A nice and cozy restaurant at the heart of Colombo. Ample parking space at front, however due to their parking slot arrangement, getting in and out of the parking can be bit of a hassle. Ambience is excellent. There are good menu options with a much higher price tag with taxes and service surcharge. We ordered mixed sea food platter for 4, which was barely enough for 4 I d say. However it tasted great. The downside of this place is that it is closed between 3.30pm - 6pm which is a real disappointment. They close the kitchen at 3pm so you can't order after that. I don't know the reason for this bizzare schedule but they should rectify it.

Had lunch here and we were very satisfied with the tasty food. We ordered the bamboo chicken biryani and the whole fried fish. The fish was friend so well that you could nearly eat all the bones like chips. It was seasoned so well, you didn't need any dips or condiments. The biryani was yum. Very clean and well styled place. Be prepared that it takes at least 30mins for your food to come out. But it's because the food is all cooked to order and the food is worth it for the wait.

Giovanni's is a laid-back pizzeria chain in Colombo, known for its custom pies, pastas, and relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant exudes an easygoing vibe with its cozy courtyard setting adorned with fairy lights and a vintage Ford, making it ideal for date nights or casual catch-ups. The pizzas are highly praised for their crispy dough, fresh flavors, and perfect cheese-to-ingredient ratio - a testament to the chef's experience living in Italy.
I recently had the chance to eat at Giovanni’s Restaurant, and I’m still thinking about how delicious the pizza was! It was freshly baked, full of flavor, and had the perfect thin, crispy crust. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients, and the cheese was so rich and gooey! The place had a cozy, relaxed vibe, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. It felt like a small slice of Italy right in the city. Whether you're a pizza lover or just craving something truly satisfying, Giovanni’s is the place to go. I’ll definitely be going back. Had a great meet-up with friends at Giovanni’s Pizza. We went for the thin crust options — I can’t recall the exact names, but every slice was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was calm and cozy, making it a perfect spot to relax and catch up. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the mood for quality pizza and a chill vibe.

Highly recommended for its delicious food and generous portions. Every dish bursts with flavor, though some tend to be quite oily. The staff are incredibly humble, attentive, and helpful, making the dining experience warm and welcoming. While the service shines, peak hours especially after 5 PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday can be very noisy, affecting the ambiance. During busy times, the kitchen gets overwhelmed, and orders may take over 20 minutes to arrive. Despite the wait, the food and service make it worth visiting. Ideal for casual meals with great taste, as long as you’re prepared for a lively crowd.
Cruz R — Google review
A group of 3 people visited on a Tuesday night at around 10pm. We didn't see any parking and everyone just parked on the road and went into the restaurant. I'm pretty sure this is not allowed during the traffic hours. They have indoor, outdoor and air-conditioned spaces available. The staff was very friendly. The food was served after about 15 minutes of ordering and tasted good.
Bhanuka S — Google review
Giovanni's is the kind of place you know you'll return to before you've even finished your meal. The pizzas are sublime—featuring a perfect crust, generous fillings, and incredible flavour. Paired with great drinks, it's an outstanding value. We visited on a bustling weekend night. Despite being jam-packed, the service was excellent, and our food arrived promptly and, importantly, piping hot—a rare feat for such a busy kitchen. The atmosphere was electric, thanks to the live music. We loved it so much and wanted to hangout longer but felt guilty lingering after eating, knowing there was a long line of people waiting for a table. Unfortunately, we couldn't make it back during our month in Sri Lanka, but Giovanni's is at the very top of our list for next time. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I love the place the most, and the vibe is great with both indoor and outdoor seating. The food looked amazing, and there were a variety of items to choose from. I didn’t try the drinks, so I can't comment on them. There wasn’t much of a wait time either.

We ordered a seafood risotto and beef lasagna, and both failed in every possible way: presentation, doneness, quality, and flavor everything was bad. The seafood risotto was served with a tomato-based sauce, which I’ve never seen before. The server didn’t mention this when taking the order. After a long argument, they finally brought a white sauce version, but it had completely lost its consistency it was like rice mixed with corn soup. The lasagna tasted fine, but it was served cold, so we didn’t even bother arguing about it. I’ve visited this place more than 20 times before, but today I’m honestly done with their food and service. I used to think this was one of the best Italian restaurants in Colombo, but today all my trust and expectations are gone. It’s such a disappointment to experience this level of quality, especially when the food is overpriced for what it is.

We ordered food there tonight. The food arrived cold, wasn't particularly tasty, and the portions were tiny. A calzone is something else entirely. Real Italians would throw the food against a wall, disappointing for the high price. The chefs apparently can't read either, and special requests were ignored. Last time for us. Check out the pictures.

Pilawoos in Kollupitiya is a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike, known for its classic roast chicken cheese kottu. The chain of restaurants is popular among youngsters, especially as a late-night snack destination after a night out. The cheesy kottu is a standout dish with generous portions of shredded chicken and cheese. While the service may be slow, the option to have food served to your car adds to the comfortable dining experience.
My parents arrived here before and complimented their food, thus I came to check it out. Bought a cheese kottu, Chicken Biryani and got a chicken fried rice for 4220/= food was a actually really delicious due to the fact that they established their shop In the 1970s! As soon I entered the place, a rack filled with sweets, cake and some biscuits were available. There were five tables including uncomfortable chairs. The Atmosphere is calm and generic for its place(I genuinely love it). Idk why people complain the shop owners for not improving, but in my opinion it's good for its own. The Service was quick as employees were doing their jobs perfectly aswell as being polite to their customers. Overall it's a recommended place to grab a snack between lunch and dinner which are cheap indeed.

This is the best place for your midnight kottu cravings! They offer a fantastic range, from flavorful masala kottu to rich and cheesy palandi kottu. The best part is their unique dine-in-your-car service—they provide plates and utensils so you can enjoy your meal right in your own car. If you’re new to Sri Lanka, I strongly recommend giving this place a try. It’s an experience you won’t want to miss!

If I could give this tea a standing ovation, I would. I asked for less sugar, and not only did they listen, they delivered. It was perfection in a cup! Like the tea gods themselves brewed it. Service? Spot on. The staff was super attentive, nailed the order. Hats off to the person who took my order you understood the assignment. I came for a cuppa and left with a soul soothing experience. 10/10 would sip again.

Pilawoose, Kollupitiya – Night Food Review Pilawoose in Kollupitiya is a good spot to grab food at night. The fried chicken cheese kottu was decent but didn’t quite meet expectations in terms of flavor. The masala kottu was also good, though again, not exceptional. One downside is the waiting time — meals take about 35–40 minutes to be served. There are no service charges, which is a plus. While there’s no dedicated parking available, the staff is friendly and helpful.

t-Lounge by Dilmah – Chatham Street is a haven for tea enthusiasts in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It's the go-to place for an extensive selection of unblended teas, including Exceptionals, Gourmet tea selection, Ceylon Green tea, organic selection, infusions, Elixir of Ceylon tea, and more.
I had a wonderful experience at t-lounge by Dilmah – Chatham Street! The atmosphere was calm, quiet, and perfect for relaxing with a good treat. I tried the Pink Tres Leches Cake and the Cinnamon Matcha Tea Shake—both were absolutely delightful. The cake was soft, moist, and had just the right level of sweetness, while the shake offered a refreshing and unique twist with its subtle cinnamon notes blending perfectly with matcha. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, making the visit even more enjoyable. It’s great to see high-quality Ceylon tea being showcased so beautifully on an international platform. A truly proud moment for Ceylon tea lovers, and a spot I’d definitely recommend to anyone looking for a cozy tea-inspired experience.

One of my best loved cafes in Colombo. The interior and the details are spot on. Cozy little gem of a place serving a variety of drinks and food. A lot of foreigners milling in and out of this cafe. They serve a welcome drink in a tiny mug, which is very thoughtful. I was mind-blown by the mungo strawberry drink today. They’ve used flavored black tea with mango pulp & chucks of strawberry to curate the drink, it was truly refreshing with very very minimal sugar. The spicy chicken crepe was great too, the flavors were on point albeit would have loved more stuffing in the crepe. Staffs are quite friendly and welcoming feedbacks. Very cozy little outlet. Definitely my go to spot every-time I need some me time. Prices are slightly on the higher side plus the VAT and tax is heavy on the bill

I had the chance to visit T Lounge in Colombo and it was a truly unique experience. The variety of teas they offer is astonishing and each one feels carefully crafted. The tea experience itself was superb and the ambiance of the place makes it even more enjoyable. The service was a little slow start but picked up later . The food was also very good and paired well with the tea. The place itself is an experience and I’m glad I found this place . Plenty of variety to try their tea and I’d surely come back Overall, T Lounge is a wonderful spot to enjoy a relaxed tea experience. The atmosphere is warm, the tea selection is excellent, and the food is worth trying. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Colombo.

Sri Lankan restaurant
New Banana Leaf Restaurant is a dining establishment that offers a unique culinary experience rooted in South Indian culture. The restaurant's specialty lies in serving authentic dishes on banana leaves, infusing each meal with tropical flavors and traditional cooking methods. Located in Colombo, this eatery is known for its flavorful rice and curry combinations, including aromatic chicken biryani and spicy fish curry that capture the essence of Sri Lankan cuisine.
Having tried the Chicken Biriyani all the time, decided to try the Prawn Rice and Curry for once, and I was overjoyed. Not only was the food served on a banana leaf, the taste and presentation reminded me of this restaurant I tried in Jaffna. If you are looking for authentic moor style rice and curry, this is one of the places to go. I’m normally one to eat only a handful for lunch but the food was so good I finished the entire portion that was served. Each curry was served in small dishes, so what you see is not the complete portion, it’s just what I served. Featured: Rice, Dhal, Prawns, Stir fried green beans, Kankung, Mango Curry, Papadam and half an egg from the Biriyani portion 😌
Frosty R — Google review
Tried the prawn rice and curry and chicken biriyani. They were yummy. But, they take away the curry tray too soon, so that it can be shared with other tables too. Staff is very pleasant and friendly. But the service is too slow.
Valuka W — Google review
We recently visited the New Banana Leaf Restaurant at its new location in Bambalapitiya. This place holds a special place in our hearts, as we were regulars at their old branch on Galle Road for many years. Naturally, we were excited to try it again and ordered the chicken biriyani—a longtime favorite. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to expectations. The biriyani lacked the signature aroma and depth of flavor that once made it so memorable. It felt bland and uninspired, missing the authentic spices and fragrance typical of a well-prepared biriyani. What was even more disappointing was the use of excessive artificial coloring. All the food seemed unnaturally bright, especially with an intense red hue. After the meal, we noticed our fingers were stained red, which is not only unpleasant but also raises concerns about health and food safety. On a positive note, the restaurant space is clean, spacious, and welcoming. The staff were friendly and attentive, which made the dining environment pleasant. However, if the food taste and quality are not improved, this may not be enough to retain loyal customers. We sincerely hope the management considers bringing back the original flavor and avoids unnecessary coloring. Quality and authenticity are what made the old Banana Leaf so beloved—don’t lose that.
Umasuthan S — Google review
This restaurant became our go-to when we are in the area ❤️ the freshness and quality of the food is always the same everytime we come back. What truly stands out is their signature chicken biryani, so tasty and rich in flavour! The staff is very welcoming and kind. Place is clean and their meals are affordable !
Sherine — Google review
We got the large Seafood Fried Rice. Absolutely tasty. Food was great. Food took 25 minutes to arrive. Served on an actual banana leaf. Fun experience. The quantity for large is enough for 3 people even though the restaurant suggests that its only enough for 2.
Atharva K — Google review
Proud to say this was my ever Sri Lankan meal and it was so good! I got the cuttlefish biryani and I don’t regret a thing! The price was fair and the portion was huge, big enough for 2 I’d say!
Dane K — Google review
I visited Banana Leaf in Bambalapitiya and honestly, I felt the prices were quite high compared to the quality of the food. The taste and portion size were not worth the amount charged. If you’re looking for better value for money and authentic vegetarian meals, I would recommend trying Adiyar Ariya Bhavan instead.
Jenit F — Google review
I had a shocking and terrifying experience with my biryani takeaway from this restaurant. While feeding my little son, I discovered two sharp pieces of glass in the rice. This is an unacceptable and dangerous oversight. What was once a favorite dish is now ruined, and for my family's safety, I will never be returning to this restaurant.

VOC Cafe, located within the Dutch Burgher Union in Colombo, offers a taste of Sri Lanka's iconic dessert, Watalappam. The cafe is part of the colonial-era club that welcomes the public and provides a subtle and pleasant atmosphere reminiscent of Ceylon's history. Known for their delicious lamprais, VOC Cafe has recently undergone a facelift and now offers fresh and great-tasting food with various options at a good value.
Great food, We went for the breakfast on the 25th, the service was excellent then we went again on 26th for Lunch (11.50am) the service was not good as we expected … 👎🏻 But still wish to come back again 🥳

Old Dutch building now renovated and converted to a restaurant. Good atmosphere and spacious. However open location and did not have much cooling.. was a bit stuffy. Had limited parking and had to park outside. Not an easy location for parking. We came here just for hoppers, which was really tasty. Worth a visit to have hoppers. Call them before to find out when they have hoppers as it’s not everyday.
Meth H — Google review
We recently ordered from VOC—two chicken lamprais and one mixed meat lamprais. The total came to around Rs. 5,000, and with the Uber delivery fee of Rs. 1,000, the entire order cost Rs. 6,000. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The portion sizes were very small, the chicken pieces were tiny and lacked flavor, and overall, the food didn’t taste as good as it used to. It definitely didn’t feel worth the price, and the quality just wasn’t there. For what we paid, we expected a much better experience. Sadly, this didn’t live up to VOC’s usual standard. Photos attached for reference.

Desperately wanted Lamprais for my last meal in Sri Lanka and this place didn't disappoint. Lovely place with courteous staff.. Definitely visit this place again, if you are in Colombo.
Orlando P — Google review
It's sort of a love-hate relationship with VOC. Right now it's not so great. We've dined there many times. We keep going back because we have a taste for their food. But it's always a gamble. Their ghee rice and beef smore with mash are our favorites. But the last outing the ghee rice was useless. Going on a day and at a time when they're busy is not a good idea - that's usually when their meals suck. Going after hours - you risk certain dishes to be unavailable. Their juices, though have remained consistent. Their homemade ginger beer and naran juice are out of this world. They claim authenticity of their lamprais, even taking a dig, on their menu, at other restaurants who serve lamprais - but I dunno, didn't seem the greatest, quite dry also. Or maybe I don't know what real lamprais should taste like. Service-wise their waiters are friendly, but takes a while to get their attention once they serve the food - mainly because they're rushing about. The atmosphere is nice, giving off a laid back, a slightly poshish Sri Lankan vibe.

I had the pleasure of visiting this cafe recently and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing meal. The highlight of my visit was definitely the Kalupol Pork Curry, which was a true delight for the taste buds - flavorful and cooked to perfection. The service provided was commendable, with attentive staff members who were friendly and made sure all our needs were met. Additionally, the ample car parking available made it convenient for me to visit without any hassle. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at this cafe and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

25th July 2024 Lunch at VOC, (DBU) Dutch Burger Union, Colombo 4 Ordered Chicken Lamprais with Narang Juice Total Paid Rs.1,965 So, in Colombo,  everyone says that DBU has the best Lamprais. Its a Portuguese lunch meal. I would agree. That is the best in Colombo. The quantity is small, but is just right for me. Flavoursome, and the rice cooked in the stock makes it awesome. My wife and I ordered the Beef Benny croissant and the pesto chicken bagel burger. Both dishes were excellent. I loved how crunchy the croissant was and the flavors were just right. The seasoning had the perfect balance of salt and the portion sizes were spot on. Many cafes tend to overdo the salt but Seed Cafe has got it just right. The coffee was delicious too. We tried the latte and really enjoyed it. Definitely coming back for more.

Ordered the Pesto and chicken Bagel Burger and Vietnamese Iced coffee. The pesto sauce was drizzled in the plate and not inside of the burger which I was fine with since I'm not a pesto sauce fan. The presentation of the bagel burger was excellent. The burger overall was average. The Vietnamese Iced coffee was good but don't expect it to be similar to the authentic. The seating and ambience was chill and good place to hangout with friends and family. You have to self order and the waiters are friendly and good service. The tax and service charge is included in the menu price of the item. There's enough free parking

One of the best brunch spots in town with absolutely incredible food and drinks! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, vibrant, and welcoming — the perfect setting for a relaxed weekend brunch. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared with obvious care and creativity. The menu is thoughtfully designed, offering a perfect balance of comforting classics and inventive new dishes that make every visit exciting. We started with the Seed of Life Big Breakfast, which was a feast on a plate — perfectly cooked eggs, crispy bacon, flavorful sausages, and freshly toasted bread, all plated beautifully. The Beef Benny Croissant was another standout, with tender slices of beef, silky hollandaise, and a buttery croissant that melted in the mouth. Every bite was simply delightful! The drinks were equally impressive. The Salted Caramel Latte was rich and smooth, with just the right hint of sweetness, while the Dark Chocolate Mocha offered deep, indulgent flavors that paired perfectly with our meal. Overall, this place nails every aspect of a great brunch — from presentation and taste to service and atmosphere. Whether you’re catching up with friends, celebrating something special, or just treating yourself, this spot is an absolute winner. Highly recommend! 🍴

The café feels calm and relaxing, with nice music and a clean, minimal setup that gives off a peaceful vibe. Overall, we were happy with our visit. If you’re in Colombo looking for a chill spot to enjoy breakfast with friends or family, Seed Café is definitely worth a visit. We’ll surely come again next time!

Came here with my friends for a hearty brunch and It absolutely did not disappoint. What we ordered was the beef benni, Pesto & Chicken bagel burger, butternut squash Roti stack with grilled mushroom and Red pepper hummus toast. For beverages we had the vietnamese coffee and the strawberry Matcha Among the main dishes the beef benni was absolutely delish. However if you want a safe option, the bagel is the choice. Regardless it's a Flavor bomb in your mouth. The drinks personally I enjoyed the matcha however the Vietnamese coffee with the a variety of spices really elevated the flavor. That's definitely recommended. Lastly the customer service was as expected. Polite, welcoming with a friendly atmosphere I would however like a minor update to the menu, that is to split the drinks menu where the chocolate and matcha options are together. Adding on Matcha chocolate would be a great addition to the menu.

A fantastic place to have Indian food. They have South Indian and North Indian varieties as well. The food is served with the great taste. Note: To have a srilankan touch they add coconut oil to the food and it gives a great flavour to the food. We(2 of us) went for night light meal... ordered parotha with kurma and masala dosa, plain tea and filter coffee. Of the 2parothas served, one was ok and the other was very bad and had to be left. Upon detailed discussion it was revealed that the parothas were made in the afternoon 😭😭. The dosa was good. Masala chai was served instead of plain tea and when we brought it to their notice, we were met with a blank stare and a little later an angry look..since we didn't want to create a scene, just had it and ended the matter. Outside the hotel looks posh but inside interiors are very sad and ordinary. Cutlery are not clean. And sambhar was served in a cracked steel katori 😳 So if you enter , be mentally prepared, don't expect too much

Founded by Ms. Dao from Thailand, this restaurant was initially a street food joint but now offers indoor seating for a more comfortable dining experience. Despite its unassuming ambiance, the rich and flavorful dishes exceed expectations. Using homegrown herbs, the food at Dao Krua Thai is described as luxurious and bursting with flavor.
Most of the Thai portions in Colombo are with 10% service tax and 18% government tax which at the end when U get the bill becomes expensive. At Dao Hrue Thai they charge 10% for dining in which to me is fair. The cook is actually Thai. I ordered the pad Thai and it was fantastic 😊. And then the mango with sticky rice was also fantastic. The atmosphere is very good as well. A special mention for the staff was very quick to take order and serve. Well done!

◇Food◇ I ordered the Spicy Thai seafood fried rice and Prawns red curry. The Spicy Thai seafood fried rice was flavorful and tasty. The portion size was adequate for an average adult, and the pricing was reasonable. The Prawns red curry was decent, but it felt slightly overpriced. I'm not entirely sure about its authenticity. ◇Service◇ The service staff were friendly and attentive. There was a slight delay in issuing the bill, likely because they were busy at the time. ◇Ambience◇ This is probably the most colourful restaurant I've visited so far in Colombo. The lighting and decor were fantastic, and the dining area was clean and well-maintained.

Absolutely fantastic, authentic Thai food for a great price. They have indoor seating - but a wonderful little courtyard too, where you can sit outside and still avoid the humidity, with a dedicated standing fan, for each table. For dinner, I had the Papaya Salad with Prawns, which was an incredibly generous portion, with a good quantity of large shrimp, and an excellent spice and flavour; and also the Seafood Omelette which was crispy, fluffy and fabulous. The staff too, were all incredibly attentive - even the chef came out to ask how I found it! I will be going back tomorrow, to try more of the menu :) . * Updated to include pictures of the Steamed Prawn Dumplings and Pad Kra Pao Prawns I have had, since my first review

Dao Krua Thai – A Slice of Thailand in Colombo 🇹🇭🌿 Tucked inside Palm Grove, Colombo 03, Dao Krua Thai offers a homey, laid-back vibe with open-air dining that feels both breezy and intimate. The space is filled with colorful Thai-themed décor—lanterns, wind chimes, and vibrant wall art. There’s even a mini herb garden on the side, adding freshness to the ambiance. The staff are warm, welcoming, and always smiling. There’s something comforting about the way they interact. One of the Aunties, in particular, had such a gentle, kind aura—it made me feel like I was back home, and for a moment, I genuinely missed my mom. 🥹💛 Here’s what we tried: 🍜 Clear Soup Chicken with Glass Noodles – LKR 2700 10/10 – Comfort in a bowl! Light, savory, with a perfect balance of saltiness. Generous meatballs and noodles. Great for sharing. 🐟 Tamarind Fish – LKR 2700 8/10 – Not overly sour as expected. The sweet-sour balance is spot on, just like a ripe tamarind. Crisp outside, tender inside. 🥘 Green Curry Beef – LKR 2700 9/10 – Rich, spicy, and full of Thai herbs. The beef is tender, and the flavors really hit the mark. 🍚 Steamed Rice – LKR 800 10/10 – Simple but aromatic. Fluffy and a great companion to the dishes. 🧾 Total Bill with Service Charge: LKR 11,770 🛁 Washroom – 6/10 Functional but could use some upgrades. Not a deal-breaker if you’re here just to enjoy good food. Overall: Highly recommended if you’re craving authentic Thai flavors in a cozy, colorful setting—with the warmth that feels like home. 🌶️🇹🇭

Nice restaurant and the service was rather good. The food was tasty even though I ordered a pad thai and got stired fried noodles instead. But the prices are way too high... more than USD 40 for 1 entrance, 2 main dishes and 1 desert. Be careful the prices you see on the menu on Google are not the ones you end up paying.

All dishes which we ordered for lunch was soooooo good, authentic thai!! beautiful outdoor seating and great services!! we will definitely come back.

This Thai place can easily customise vegetable options to be vegan and some of the vegetarian options are accidently vegan like the red and green curry we got the Kang Kung and tom yum. the tamarind juice was really nice too, is recommend it if you like wood apple, they're very familiar the tom yum was very flavorful and reasonably authentic, the Kang Kung would have benefited from the garlic being more lightly fried I feel

It was my first experience in a Thai restaurant. It was pretty good. We ordered batter-fried calamari and prawns as appetizers. Those were fried to perfection. For the mains, we had fried rice with different kinds of meats. Also ordered red and green curries. Those were pretty good too. And the tamarind drinks were the best in the night. We all loved it. Apart from the meals we had parking was a tiny problem since the premiss had lack of space for parking.

Dinner at Zen was exceptional—elegant and classy, with a charming vintage atmosphere that added to the experience. The staff were warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Their sushi was absolutely delightful and a standout of the evening. There’s ample parking available, but it’s a good idea to call ahead before arriving. Highly recommended, and best of luck to the team at Zen!

An exceptional dining experience! The setting is absolutely lovely—especially if you manage to get a rooftop table beside the pool. It’s romantic, peaceful, and perfect for a special evening. The staff were warm, welcoming, and provided excellent service throughout. The food was delicious and felt truly authentic, with a wide variety of Japanese dishes to choose from. Given the luxurious ambiance, I was expecting a hefty bill, but were pleasantly surprised by how reasonably priced everything was. A fantastic spot for a romantic date or a quiet evening out. Highly recommended!

The call operator, Ms 𝗜𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗮 was very professional and supportive while helping me plan the dinner. The other staff members were equally friendly and attentive, ensuring that everything went smoothly. The restaurant, located at Ward Place, offers a pleasant, calm, and beautifully designed atmosphere that enhances the overall dining experience. This is a beautiful restaurant in a convenient location with a great variety of Japanese and Thai food. The food was a bit expensive but worth it. However, the person who took our order made a mistake and didn’t admit it, which was disappointing. Worth a visit!

Went for dinner and loved everything about this place. The ambience was warm, the staff were friendly, and the food was amazing. The ramen was light and full of flavor, and the Mexican maki was a must-try. Even the soya sauce stood out! The sushi was super fresh and tasty. Great vibes and great food. highly recommend!

Stopped by for a Saturday lunch and tried the Pork Katsudon. The dish had decent flavors and tasted good overall. The portion size was adequate for an average appetite. However, I felt that neither the taste nor the portion size justified the Rs. 3700 price tag, even by Colombo 07 standards. The staff were friendly and welcoming, whic I was told the dish would be ready in 10 minutes, but it ended up taking around 20. That said, the ambience was fantastic, and there was plenty of room for parking, which was a definite plus point.

Went in for dinner with my husband and absolutely loved everything about the place! The ambience was warm and inviting, the staff were incredibly attentive, and the food—wow—just hit the spot for my sushi cravings. The ramen was light, flavorful, and extraordinary. The Mexican maki was out of this world—truly a must-try. Even the soya sauce had a unique depth that stood out. The dumplings were super fresh and light, leaving us wanting more with every bite. Overall, a fantastic dinner spot with great vibes and food that exceeds expectations. Highly recommend!

The Grind Coffeehouse is a recent addition to Colombo's dining scene, offering beautifully presented meals and quality coffee. Their menu features items like avocado on toasted sourdough, omelette with quinoa kale salad, and superfood granola bowl, making it an ideal spot for breakfast or brunch. Notably, they also provide a variety of vegan options in a city where such choices can be limited.
Grind Colombo continues to impress with its vibrant flavors, thoughtful plating, and exceptional service. Every dish we tried was not just delicious it was a feast for the eyes, carefully plated with artistic flair and bursting with color. Each bite offered layers of flavor that reflect the chef’s attention to detail and passion for quality. The coffee? Outstanding. It’s rare to find a place in Colombo that consistently delivers such rich, smooth, and well-balanced coffee and Grind has truly mastered it. What truly stood out was the incredible customer service. Despite facing unexpected power cuts during our visit, the team remained gracious, transparent, and accommodating. They offered thoughtful alternatives and continuously checked in on us with sincere apologies for the delays. Honestly, they didn’t need to we completely understood the situation but their professionalism made a lasting impression. Grind isn’t just a café; it’s an experience. From the beautifully plated food to the warm service and inviting atmosphere, it’s clear that every detail is designed with care. Highly recommended whether you’re catching up with a friend or simply treating yourself to something special.

The food there is out of this world. I loved the peanut rice noodles, so tangy and flavorful. Could have easily eaten three portions. Also their hojicha latte was great. Awesome place for vegans, they serve oat milk and have lots of vegan options on the menu. Friendly and caring staff. Nice atmosphere & fast service.

Been there many times and it's the best coffee spot in Colombo. Very good and quality coffee, amazing and helpful staff (last time they helped me to set my grinder). Food is amazing - lots of vegetarian options which I appreciate, variety of sweet treats and you can buy the beans as well. Sometimes it's very crowded, especially on weekends, but I always found a spot to enjoy coffee here.

One of Colombo's best coffees and Matcha. A palace to meet your friends to catch-up or for a quick coffee break. The food is amazing as well, with a range of sandwiches, pasta and healthy meals for winners. A must try is their Oat milk cold brew and Coconut matcha( thank me later) Finding seating may be difficult during Peak times. PS - it's not a place to work from either

This charming bake shop specializes in an array of delectable desserts and pastries, ensuring each creation strikes the perfect balance of flavor, color, and texture. With a commitment to using only the finest ingredients, their cakes are crafted with care and pride.
Cake Factory is a great place if you’re looking for fresh and delicious cakes. I tried their chocolate cake and Chocolate ultimate Bliss, and both were incredibly moist, rich in flavor, and just the right level of sweetness. The cakes are beautifully made and perfect for birthdays or celebrations. They don’t have pastries, but their cake quality and taste alone make it worth visiting. Clean presentation and good customer service too.

This café offers a delightful menu featuring a variety of cakes, brownies, and coffee. The pricing is more affordable compared to similar spots. The cakes I tried were exceptional in taste. Customer service is friendly. However, it’s worth noting that there doesn’t appear to be an indoor dining area.

Update on Jan 2024: the frosting recipe seems to have changed lately. It’s been a while since I came here, so I don’t know when it started. The cupcake frosting is extremely sugary, and the butter flavor isn’t present at all. Some new essence has been added too which is unexpected and not very pleasant. Original review: Been buying little treats from here for years and just realized I haven’t reviewed it! It’s a lovely little cake shop, and their cupcakes, cakes and brownies have been consistently delicious over the years. No dry brownies here! The pack of mini cupcakes is the perfect treat for our kids’ impromptu little tea parties at home. The meringue cups are a tad too sweet for my taste but my kids love them. A tiny suggestion would be to mark prices on the name tags of the cakes.

I recently ordered a cake from The Cake Factory for my daughter’s birthday, and it was absolutely delightful! Each time, the cakes have been fresh, soft, and full of rich flavour – truly beyond words to describe. Tasting their cakes brings so much joy; it feels like a little piece of happiness in every bite. The Cake Factory has now become our go-to place for every special occasion. I highly recommend them to anyone who loves cake – you will never be disappointed!

The best cakes in Colombo. I love their cakes and desserts (CBP and Belgian Chocolate Mousse are top tier!). The Ultimate Chocolate Bliss is probably the best cake I've ever had. Their chocolate eclairs also are excellent. They are a local business. Their products are fresh, tasty and great value for money. The new location has proper parking and it's in a great location now. Check them out!!
Prabu D — Google review
The Cake Factory is definitely one of the best places to buy cakes. I've visited several times and also ordered online, and I've always been pleased with the taste. The cakes are rich and flavorful, though I noticed they have more of an natural flavor than the artificial, fresh ingredient taste you’d expect from high-quality cakes. The price is a bit on the higher side, but considering the quality and the experience, it’s still quite reasonable. Overall, it’s a great choice for special occasions, just be aware of the slight difference in flavor compared to cakes made with purely natural ingredients.

Kopi Kade, which means "coffee shop" in Sinhalese and Tamil, is a trendy spot in Colombo known for serving top-quality coffee. The owner, who has experience from Melbourne, offers various brewing methods like espresso, aeropress, and pour-over. Each cup of coffee comes with details about the beans' origins.
My latest discovery of decent coffee in this big city. It takes a bit road travel from downtown but totally worth it. Nim the owner is absolutely passionate about coffee and you can tell this from every cup he presents. Menu is quite simple because you can ask for any kind of coffee that suits your taste off the paper. Do try with imagination.

One of the few places you know you can get a solid coffee. The food is pretty good too, we had multiple things which were all so tasty. Except the savory French toast which was a bit meh. Recommend keeping room for dessert! Service was a bit slow. Had to wait an hour to get our food

Nice and Unique This is a nice restaurant /coffee place. Love their unique menu. The good thing about their menu is that they got small portions for reasonable prices, so you do not have to worry about ordering something you dont like and not being able to order something else due to price factor. The prawn slider was delicious ... and the hot chocolate was amazing . That hot chocolate was just like the one i had in Italy. I have never ever had such a delicious hot chocolate in Colombo ever. Te placr is very spacious, comfortable and clean. You can spend ample time . The service was great. Eas access from public transport too. There is ample parking for private vehicles too Average menu price 450 - 800 per dish... there were few.large meals for about 1,100-1,500.

Best specialty coffee we found in Sri Lanka in 3 month. The owner absolutely passionate about coffee and real expert. He has numerous sorts of coffee. As we understood he runs trainings for baristas in best coffee places in town. Food is good, has a descent cheeses as ingredients. Croissant is real croissant and made in interesting local fusion way. The portions size is much more European than lankian) The prices are a bit high, but it goes with a territory))

Amazing coffee and wonderful host! Surprised to find a spot in Colombo that nails their espresso beverages and single origin/estate coffees! Cozy place with a very pleasant ambience. It's very conveniently located right off high level and surprisingly quite and peaceful given the busy location. The owner is very friendly. Unfortunately I only went there for coffee with a friend so cannot comment on the food, but the menu looked very interesting. Their coffee is great ! Highly appreciate what they are doing to support local upcoming artists by showcasing their work for zero commission. Very impressed by that and will definitely return soon to check out the amazing menu. Keep up the great work.

If you are a real die-hard coffee lover - this place should be in your list. Especially if you really know what good coffee is. They have decent specialty options as far as espresso for single origin beans, like pour over, aeropress. The bites they offer are also decent. Don't expect big fulling portions - this place is not about full your stomach, it's about satisfy your receptors. Also nice local art in design and friendly owner to talk to are the subjects to enjoy this place.

Tucked away on Pedris Road, Coffee & Company offers a cozy retreat that perfectly embodies its name. With charming decor that's perfect for Instagram snaps, this quaint café features a nostalgic blackboard proclaiming "Know Your Coffee." While it may be easy to overlook due to its small size and lack of elaborate coffee workshops, the ambiance is inviting for casual meet-ups or even some quiet work time.

Worst customer service in the entire world. Food is great but the lady at the counter has zero customer service experience. They are not on Uber eats or PickMe food even though they say they are - i have had to call them manually and ask them to update the app and they still say they can’t. Just now when I ask them to make an order that I will come pick it up the lady on the phone says she can’t take orders from the phone and can only do it when we come there. She always gives some sort of excuse and is it’s honestly the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced - as someone who genuinely liked the food there I have made a conscious effort now to never go there and have told many people about this because this woman has zero customer knowledge and therefore they just lost a customer who was willing to even come there and pay for a meal because they don’t offer delivery 😂

Family restaurant
Beira Kitchen, the flagship restaurant of Courtyard by Marriott Colombo, has quickly become a culinary hotspot since its opening in 2023. Nestled beside the picturesque Beira Lake, this dining venue beautifully reflects Sri Lanka's rich gastronomic heritage. Guests can indulge in an array of traditional dishes crafted with authentic ingredients and time-honored techniques. The ambiance is inviting, though some diners have noted that the seating arrangement can feel a bit tight, limiting privacy during meals.
I went to this place last Friday for lunch with our university staff members. We had a wonderful time, with superb service and amazing food. I’m a vegetarian, and I was glad to find good vegetarian options available. For non-vegetarians, there is also a wide variety of meal choices. The restaurant is located on the 9th floor and includes a lovely terrace. The interior is built with glass walls, offering a beautiful view of the surroundings. The staff were very supportive and friendly. Parking is also convenient, with both regular parking and valet services available.

The food was absolutely delicious, with fresh ingredients and great flavors. However, the variety was quite limited compared to other buffets. The service was good—staff were attentive and friendly. Overall, it’s a fair deal for the price, especially if you prioritize quality over quantity. Would visit again!

We visited Courtyard by Marriott Colombo for a team lunch, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The buffet had a wide variety of food options, and everything we tried was flavorful and well-prepared. There were also a few good vegetarian choices available, which was appreciated by some in our group. We opted for the buffet offer at LKR 3,100 per person, and it was definitely worth the price. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing, and the service was quick and efficient. Making a reservation was easy, and the staff ensured everything went smoothly. Overall, a great place for a team outing or casual lunch with friends. Highly recommended!

I visited Beira Kitchen for their dinner buffet during the September offer period. The appetizers were excellent, with a great variety and nice presentation. The sushi corner was a highlight for me – fresh and delicious! However, the dining area felt a bit cramped, with minimal space between tables, so we didn’t have much privacy. The selection of mains was a bit smaller than I expected, possibly due to the offer and high demand for reservations. The desserts were good, and I enjoyed them. The view from the restaurant is lovely, with a nice pool outside, adding to the ambiance. Overall, a good experience but could improve in terms of spacing and mains variety.
Chamikara K — Google review
Their dine two offer is great. That makes them one of the cheapest buffets in town. It is value for money because the buffet spread has a good variety. Although it doesn't offer seafood dishes which are more expensive, there were meat and fish dishes. The salad and desert spreads were good but the soups were not tasty at all. Service was very attentive.
Sydney R — Google review
I recently dined at the lunch buffet and had a mixed experience. The highlight was definitely the chicken dishes—they were well-seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor, making them a standout. However, the variety of options left something to be desired. The selection felt limited, with fewer choices than expected for a buffet, which was a bit disappointing. On a sweeter note, the cheesecake was a delight—creamy, rich, and the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, solid for the chicken and dessert, but they could step up the variety to make the experience truly memorable.

We went for dinner at the Marriott Hotel to celebrate a friend's birthday. Beira Kitchen's restaurant was well prepared and very Nice place to take a meal .It was a very good experience because of the friendliness of the staff. Also, the food was very tasty. All the desserts were very delicious. All the desserts caught our fancy. A small drawback here is that the food is a little late in filling. Overall this dinner was very good. Our special thanks go to them. Chamethya who took our reservation and gave a very kind service .Ms. Sachini Narada ,front office staff -Maneesha, chef -Sewwandi, Kasun and all . Every employee provided very good service.
Nilushen — Google review
We visited Courtyard by Marriott Colombo for a buffet dinner recently, and unfortunately, the overall experience left us quite disappointed. To begin with, the buffet spread was underwhelming, especially when compared to other luxury hotels in Colombo that offer far better variety and quality. The selection was minimal, with only a handful of meat items and a noticeable absence of seafood like prawns. Most of the meats were served without appropriate sauces or accompaniments, which made the dishes bland and lacking flavor. For a hotel operating under the Marriott brand, this was a huge letdown. Another major issue was the seating arrangement. We had made a prior reservation for a table for two, but when we arrived, we were placed in a very congested area. We politely requested a change of table, as there were several visibly empty tables around, but the staff refused, citing all tables were reserved. The response was not only unhelpful but also came off as quite rude and dismissive. It made us feel very unwelcome and certainly not like valued guests. What was most disheartening was their lack of hospitality regarding a simple birthday request. Since we were celebrating a birthday, my fiancée asked if they could bring a small slice of cake with a candle just to mark the occasion. We were told that it had to be ordered through their coffee shop at the time. In our past experiences at other hotels, this was always handled with warmth and generosity – a small gesture that makes a big difference. Sadly, that warmth was missing here. If there was one saving grace, it would be the dessert section. The variety was decent, and the pannacotta, in particular, was excellent. However, that alone doesn’t justify the rest of the experience. Overall, we left feeling very disappointed. The poor buffet spread, unwelcoming service, and lack of basic hospitality make this a place we wouldn’t recommend or revisit. Compared to how other five-star hotels treat their guests—especially on special occasions—Courtyard by Marriott Colombo fell far below expectations.

A restaurant that caters to vegetarians, Amirthaa Restaurant is located near Bambalapitiya flats. They have a variety of vegan food items and large seating available. Parking is also available for 2-3 vehicles. The staffs are good and quickly make the food which doesn't take too long. The prices are reasonable as well and the food tastes good. Overall, this restaurant is highly recommended for those looking for a vegan restaurant in Galle Road.
This is a pure vegetarian restaurant, and we had lunch there today. The meal was served on a banana leaf with a generous portion of rice and a variety of curries. What I really liked is that there’s no limit—you can ask for more rice and curry as needed. The service was excellent, and I truly enjoyed the experience. Plus, the pricing is very reasonable, making it great value for money! Rice and Curry - 5/5

If you’re looking for a great place to enjoy unlimited vegetarian food in Colombo, this restaurant in Bambalapitiya is a must-visit! The service is excellent, and the food quality is top-notch. You can eat as much as you like, making it a fantastic spot for anyone who enjoys a hearty meal. One of the best things about this place is the variety of dishes available. They serve more than five different types of curries, ensuring a flavorful and satisfying experience. Additionally, they offer curd, rasam, and vade as complimentary items, adding even more value to your meal. The taste is authentic, and the ingredients seem fresh, making every bite delicious. Average Experience Amirthaa Restaurant offers tasty food with good portion sizes. However, the service could be better — staff seemed a bit slow, and getting attention took some time. Decent spot for a meal, but expect some delays.

I got two paper dose with wade & two marakkari rotti. Dose - burned or over cooked Wade - un cooked Marakkari roti - has a hair My friends & relatives highly recommended me this place but am highly recommending not to visit their place. We can see the grill from hand wash area- masala dose masala has no lid. Grill - has burned in to dark black Road side shop grill is better than this grill. In front they keep statue vibudhi and pottu But back side is opposite of it. Funniest thing is server forgot to tell my order to kitchen. I was waiting for more than 15 minutes for my order. I show the waiter in my vegetable rotti has a hair- his reaching like I put it and throwing in front of me to the garbage bin

⸻ The place to get some of the most amazing vegetarian dishes ever! I especially loved their paper dosa 👌it’s one of my favorite dishes here, with an absolutely amazing taste.🤩 However, I was quite disappointed with their customer service😕The waiters didn’t seem to know how to interact with customers properly, which was very upsetting. This is just my honest opinion taste-wise, it’s definitely a five-star experience⭐️, but the service really needs improvement.
Shafkii — Google review
I've visited Hotel Amirtha several times over the years, hoping for consistency, but the experience has been quite mixed. While it's a vegetarian hotel with a decent variety, the food quality often doesn't meet expectations. A few times the meals were okay, but most of the time, the taste and freshness were disappointing. One particular incident really stood out — I once bought some sweets that tasted completely off. When I called to give feedback, the staff (especially the waiter who responded) was quite rude and unprofessional. This kind of customer service really puts people off from coming back. There is potential, but consistency in food quality and better customer service are much needed. I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve.
Thamil C — Google review
The food was decent—not the best I’ve had, but definitely okay. The place could be a bit cleaner. What really bothered me was the inconsistency with card payments. The cashier told they wouldn’t accept card for a Rs. 150 charge, even though earlier in the day I had a Rs. 400 meal and paid by card without any issue. Doesn’t make much sense and was a frustrating experience.

Nestled in the bustling heart of Colombo, The Emperor's Den is a luxurious haven for those seeking an authentic Chinese dining experience. Located at the entrance of Astoria Shopping Mall on R A De Mel Mawatha, this hidden gem opens its doors at 5:30 PM and specializes in exquisite Chinese hot pots crafted by skilled chefs from China. The restaurant not only offers delectable dishes but also creates a vibrant atmosphere with karaoke music and a selection of fine beverages.
The food was fantastic! We ordered prawn dumplings, sizzling chicken with black pepper, and egg-veg fried rice. The service was also very good. The highlight of the evening was the live band; both the male and female singers were amazing, making it a beautiful experience. Unfortunately, the restaurant was mostly empty, with only a few occupied tables. However, I must say they serve truly authentic Chinese cuisine. The restaurant manager was very engaging and went out of his way to ensure that both the service and the food were outstanding.

Do not go to this restaurant! First this restaurant is with mosquitos and small cockroaches, and the food was really bad no taste at all. And we all got a bad stomach that following night tasteless horrible food. And way too expensive. We ordered 5 dishes and two drinks the bill was 31k. Only the dumpling was good.

Absolutely loved this place! A fantastic spot for authentic Chinese cuisine, where every dish bursts with rich, traditional flavors, fresh, aromatic, and beautifully balanced. The presentation was excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Warm hospitality and a calm, inviting setting made it a perfect dining experience. A truly delightful visit. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be coming back!

My kids who are picky eaters had a great time at the Den. Service time was a bit too long but no complaints. Nothing but excellent. Couldn't try the drinks as 2 kids were under the weather ... So next time. Yup. We'll be definitely going there again.

I recently tried to place an order through Uber Eats at Emperors Den, but they didn't have the dish I wanted as an option in UE. I called the restaurant and spoke with a lovely lady named Nayani. Despite the fact that Uber Eats was supposed to close by 3:00 PM, Nayani went above and beyond to ensure I got the dish I wanted, prepared just the way I like it. She even arranged for it to be delivered to my doorstep at no extra cost! Nayani's friendly and helpful attitude truly made my day. Thank you for the amazing customer service, Nayani!
Shaahin S — Google review
Definitely a top shelf experience here. Being vegetarian, the dishes available were still very much broad in range and flavour. Tucked into the sumptuous fried rice with fresh and crunchy green beans in garlic accompanied by a mouth watering eggplant dish. Not the usual run of the mill dishes available at other restaurants, The Emperor's Den forks out authentic Mainland flavours. Shantha and his team run a tight ship to ensure all patrons are well looked after and that the experience is one to remember. Great ambience, with a couple of banquet rooms including karaoke available to small groups of up to 10 or so patrons. I see this being one that'll be frequented for great food and a ambient dining experience. Well done guys!

Galle Face Hotel is a luxurious 4-star hotel located in Colombo, offering modern amenities while still retaining its old colonial charm. It's conveniently situated just south of the city center and provides easy access to various attractions. The hotel has hosted numerous famous guests over the years and offers a unique evening experience with sunset cocktails on the Chequerboard lawn terrace, accompanied by a bagpiper serenading the flag-lowering ritual.
Lovely hotel. I didn't actually stay here. I just came for the buffet which was amazing. Wide range of breakfast items to choose from. Food that's actually thoroughly cooked AND hot. Also, pork! Delicious pork in different varieties! Pork, pastries and a full café selection! Absolutely wonderful. The staff were exceedingly courteous and professional. I was made to feel welcome; treated with dignity and respect. Much appreciated. Thank you for having me!

Galle face hotel is all about history, colonial charm, and one of the best location in Colombo! The service there is excellent, staff are well trained. The entire property is very well kept, every part is history. It is directly facing the Indian ocean, watching sunsets and sipping a cool drink by kbe of their bars is a must do! This is part of what makes fond memories of Colombo. Let's talk about the room. I have one of those standard room, which is a bit further away from the main foyer. But good thing is, it is closer to the restaurant that serves buffet (excellent btw). Because it's an old property, many parts are made of wood, floor creaks when u walk even window frames are made of wood. The window didn't cut out much noise from the ocean waves and the band playing until around midnight. The electric plugs are old, some of the cables of the lights are torn and pose great risks. The hot water system is intermittent, hot and cold randomly. In my opinion, this part of the property really could do with a make over and modernization. But the room rate is very reasonable. So, all in all, it isn't a bad experience at all. I recommend to anyone to stay here once, to get that experience of staying at a charming iconic hotel.

We stayed two nights here. Staffs are very friendly and assist with everything. The location is very good. We had high tea at their restaurant it was really good. Generally food is very good. You get historical old world experience there. The museum and the history of the place is interesting. I give 4 stars because the place has a bit of smell and lot of moisture. Floors are very slippery we had to be very careful when we walk on them. I will definitely recommend this place.

The Galle Face Hotel in Colombo, Sri Lanka, opened in 1864, evolving from a Dutch villa into a world-renowned luxury hotel. Built by four British entrepreneurs and named after the Galle Face Green it overlooks, this historic landmark has welcomed many iconic figures over the years — from politicians like Richard Nixon and Indira Gandhi to artists such as Arthur C. Clarke and Harrison Ford. The hotel’s timeless Victorian-era architecture and colonial charm have been carefully preserved through extensive restorations, including a major renovation of the South Wing in 2006, blending heritage with modern comfort. Everything about this place feels exceptional — the food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the architecture is simply stunning. It’s easily accessible from the main road, with secure parking available. The atmosphere attracts both locals and foreigners alike, and the rates are quite reasonable considering the premium experience you get. Truly a must-visit gem in Colombo.

Pettah Market, located in Colombo, is a vibrant and bustling marketplace that has stood the test of time through various historical periods. The market is a melting pot of different ethnicities, with vendors selling an array of goods such as fruits, vegetables, fashion accessories, traditional clothes like saris and salwars, gold jewelry on Sea Street, and delectable Indian sweets at Chennai Cafe on China Street.
I was able to buy a ton of goods at cheap prices at Pettah Market yesterday. The market spans across around 4KM down many different roads with each containing around 1000 small shops with a variety of products. They literally have everything sold across Sri Lanka at this market. It’s always crowded at the Pettah Market so I recommend parking your vehicle elsewhere and exploring the market on foot. Be vary of shop owners quoting higher prices if you are a tourist so it’s best if you do a background check before buying anything. Overall it’s a unique experience for anyone traveling around Sri Lanka.

Nestled in the heart of Colombo, Sri Vaishnavi Vihar is a delightful haven for those craving authentic Indian and Tamil vegetarian cuisine. On my recent visit after two years, I was thrilled to indulge in their flavorful biryani and mushroom masala dosai, paired perfectly with sweet gulab jamun. The taste remains as exquisite as I remembered! The ambiance is inviting, creating a pleasant dining experience complemented by attentive staff who ensure your needs are met promptly.
I recently visited again after two years, and I couldn't resist trying the biryani and mushroom masala dosai with gulab jamun. I'm happy to report that the taste is just as delicious as I remembered—still yummy and full of flavor. The customer service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who served everything in no time. The atmosphere was also pleasant, making for a great dining experience. It's clear that this place has maintained its quality and service over time. Highly recommended!

If you love vegetarian food, this is the perfect spot for you. The food tastes great, and you can dine on the first floor. They have a small bike parking area and the place is clean. The prices are reasonable, and I'll attach their menu card here. On the second floor, they offer room service, and on the third floor, there's a ceremony hall. I highly recommend this place.

Good food and good vibes in this place. Really delicious and having a good taste of the food and people in the service are really friendly and helpful. One of the best place to try out Indian and Tamil cuisines. However, the experience is somewhat marred by inconsistent service. Some of the waiters were not as friendly or helpful as one might expect, which detracted from the overall dining experience. Despite this, the quality of the food remains a strong point. If you’re looking for a place with great cuisine, Vaishnai Vihar has much to offer, but a more attentive and courteous service would enhance the visit significantly

My first experience at Sri Vaishnavi Vihar was excellent. Despite the slightly higher prices, I felt it was worth the money given the tasty food, good service, and comfortable ambiance. I left feeling satisfied and glad that I finally gave this nearby spot a try. I’ll certainly be returning to explore more of the menu, and I would recommend Sri Vaishnavi Vihar to anyone looking for a delicious vegetarian dining experience in the area.
Vinojkanth M — Google review
I had an absolutely delightful experience at New Vaishnavi Vihar, one of my favorite go-to spots for vegetarian Indian food in Dehiwala. This time, I tried their North Indian Special Meals, and I was beyond impressed! 💯 The meal included a full spread — soup, chapathi, biriyani, dhal fry, paneer butter masala, papadam, curd, sago dessert, pickle, and white rice — all perfectly portioned and so flavorful. Every item was fresh, well-balanced in taste, and served hot. Honestly, it was more than worth the price for a single person — a complete treat! 🥰 My fiancé ordered the Paneer Masala Dosai and Ulundu Wade (2 pcs) — both were crispy, authentic, and bursting with flavor. He enjoyed every bite! Special mention to the friendly server (photo uploaded!) who always makes us feel welcome. His service has been consistently warm and attentive every time we visit. ✅ Ambience: Clean, calm, and family-friendly ✅ Service: Fast, polite, and thoughtful ✅ Hygiene: Excellent ✅ Pricing: Super affordable for the quality and quantity Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic vegetarian Indian cuisine in Colombo. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this place won’t disappoint

Well this is the first time that I tried pure vegetarian Indian food and seems I have to change my opinion about these pure vegetarian cousins. Those were really delicious and mouthwatering. I'll definitely try these food again. When it comes to the place at the time we were visited (lunch time on a Poya day) it was really crowded and some people had to wait before entering. The service was average. The prices are moderate. They took some times to serve the food. There are no dedicated parking slots and it's very difficult to park at the road so if you're visiting beware of it. Recommended to go their by Taxi.
Dulanga S — Google review
I recently ordered the Hyderabad Veg Biryani from your restaurant, and I must express my disappointment. This was my first time trying this dish from your establishment, and unfortunately, it did not meet the standard I expected. The flavor of the biryani was not authentic, and it felt as if the chef did not know how to properly prepare it. The rice quality was poor, and the overall presentation lacked attention to detail. For a restaurant that charges premium prices, customers expect food of consistent quality and taste. If this standard is not maintained, it can negatively impact your reputation and customer trust. I strongly recommend hiring a skilled and experienced chef who can prepare authentic biryani and maintain the high standards your restaurant should be known for. Ensuring proper food quality and presentation is essential for retaining loyal customers and attracting new ones.

This review is long overdue, since my first visit happened. The photos are a collection from across the years. One of the few places in Colombo where you can find non-fat milk, for which I am really grateful! 🙌🤗 ☕️ The minimalist decor, the variety on offer - on both the beverage and the food menus - is a big plus point. Staff is quick and efficient. However you need some time to get their attention if it’s at peak time. Food is great. Beverages are quite good too. But the roast chicken needs to improve quite a bit (too dry and bland chefs!). If you have an iPhone, WiFi access has a small tweak to set up - get the help of their staff for it 🙂 Ideal for an early morning visit. Keep up the great work 👏

Their Shōyu ramen did not have the slice of fish cake or bamboo shoots. The slice of pork was too small and thick. It did have sweet corn kernels which goes better with Miso ramen for me. I would've liked them to allow customers to add more toppings by paying extra. Venue itself is nice with comfortable seating and they also have a small container with Japanese spice mixture. In Colombo, numerous tea boutiques, lounges, and cafes have emerged, showcasing an array of tea flavors with attractive packaging suitable for gifting or personal use.
I visited the Ceylon Tea Supermarket at the end of Aug 2024. The store is really big and has a big selection of teas mainly from Halpé brand. The staff in the shop is really friendly and helpful. I was able to try a couple of teas to help me decide which one I want to get. I was also told about different types of teas and how the region where it grows changes it’s colour and flavour. Also there’s pineapple processing plant right next door so the whole place has a lovely sweet pineapple smell. I highly recommend!
