Tucked away in the middle of Colombo, it blends comfort and nature beautifully while serving up food that truly delights. Since the day they opened, they’ve stayed true to their concept and branding, which I really admire. The menu has something for everyone, including vegans, and the variety is impressive. The staff is friendly, service is good, and the food is consistently tasty. From their current menu, I have to say the mango pancakes are an absolute favorite of mine — highly recommended! It’s definitely a place I’d love to visit again and again. One small suggestion for the management: the outdoor seating area tends to attract a few mosquitoes and flies. Maybe adding some bug-repellent plants could help make it even more enjoyable. Other than that, everything is spot on.

TLDR: Ridiculously good food and matcha, and the friendliest staff ever! Cafe Kumbuk is located on the ground floor of a cosy building, with indoor seating as well as a lovely front and back yard. They also have a cool merchandise store. We stayed at Srilax, which is Cafe Kumbuk’s cute accommodation option on the floor just above the cafe itself - super convenient for breakfast and lunch. The staff are extremely sweet and went above and beyond to make our visit comfortable. Huge shoutout to Harith, Raj, and Mr. Buddhika!! If you’re in Colombo, swing by this place, you won’t regret it.

Highly recommended Cafe Kumbuk 🤗 Ten of us had a wonderful breakfast experience at this cozy cafe. Starting from making the reservation to, finding us parking spots to, serving good food to our oveall experience was very good. They have decent spread of food covering meat lovers, Vegans, Vegetarians. Tasty food, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. Look a like they are very busy on weekends, better to make a reservation in advance.

food was okay, we got this pineapple rice dessert and it was really good but the pineapple on top did not do any good. we got pancake and it was burnt on the bottom but they made sure to get us a new pancake set and their customer service was above and beyond. i also got the banana matcha and it was okay. but overall really liked their customer service, they were so nice.

You might have choices in cafes but you should NOT miss this place. Tucked away in a little street off Independence Ave, it was a welcomed stop off for brunch on Sunday after wandering around the park. We had the avocado toast served with yummy passionfruit salsa (prepared by chef), great coffee, all served in a lovely lush ambiance set in their patio garden. Very eco conscious with no plastics used and recycling. Friendly and efficient - thank you. Would I go again - yes, yes, yes!

It’s a great place to hang out with friends — very calm with a really good vibe. You can spend your time peacefully here. They offer a nice variety of meals and drinks, and if you’re a food lover, this is a must-visit spot. The staff is friendly, and they even have merchandise you can buy.

We visited Black Cat Cafe for a cup of coffee. And flat white was beyond expectations. It was really "hot" (I prefer my coffee to be that hot so I can slowly dig into it otherwise it will be at the room temperature within seconds). Also it comes with a little chocolate cookie which has a white chocolate core. The staff was helpful and friendly. We were treated well. I do not know that boy's name (curly haired) who served us, but I wanted to appreciate his gentleman's gesture that he deliberately passed my boyfriend to serve me first. Felt like a lady. Parking space is limited.

Stopped by for a coffee on a Sunday afternoon and tried their popular flat white coffee. Flat white has a decent aroma and flavour. Service was decent. They charged me an extra 20% for dining in when paying by card, which I found exorbitant and unreasonable. The ambience was cozy and relaxing however, at the time of my visit, most the tables were occupied by foreigners working on their laptops.

We were waiting for our friends in a cafe. Such a chill spot. Great coffee, lots of character, and the vibe was super relaxed. The walls are full of cool vintage posters, there's a shelf packed with books. Perfect for working, reading, or just taking a break. There is also an outside terrace. Definitely coming back.

It's been one of this essential Colombo experience! The food here is great, love the ambiance and decorations all around. There is a part where it functions like an art gallery. A part thag sells their famous products made frok cotton. A good selections of books and art works on sales. Do buy their nice stuff toys made from cotton, in various shapes and sizes. They sell clothing too, it bear the iconic look, people can recognize them from this gallery. This is one of the places I get gifts for friends.

We visited Barefoot Garden Cafe on the last day of our stay in Colombo and we’re sad we had to leave early to catch our flight! We visited on Sunday, which seemed the busiest day since they have live jazz in the afternoons. It was packed, but we managed to get a seat within a few minutes. They didn’t seem to have a lot of staff, but they were doing a good job of seeing all tables. The cafe’s vibe is very calm - spacious backyard area with greenery, and the jazz totally enhanced the vibe. They have a lovely store and art gallery as well. They sell a wide variety of items - books, handmade clothes and ornaments, skincare, tea, etc. Some are a bit pricey, but their quality is good. Would recommend swinging by for an afternoon if you’re in Colombo!

Amazing location and atmosphere at this outlet! Friendly staff and very welcoming. The cake selections were really good from various varieties and flavours. The Trés Leches cake was really good. Very well balanced and light. The Biscoff cake was also amazing but a bit on the sweeter side. For the price, the portion sizes were good. Would highly recommend this place for casual hangouts or even dates. Definitely would revisit.

Butter Boutique – Sweet Heaven in Colombo! Butter Boutique never disappoints! I tried the banana matcha and honestly, it deserves 1000/10 – absolutely mind-blowing. So unique, perfectly balanced, and just melts in your mouth. The tres leches was also amazing – super soft, creamy, and full of flavor. Definitely a 10/10 dessert. And let’s not forget – they serve some of the best coffee in town. Smooth, rich, and just the right strength. If you’ve got a sweet tooth or just want a solid coffee fix, Butter Boutique is the place to be. Highly recommend!

Overall a good experience at the shop. The cakes were amazing. We got the Oreo cake and the pistachio cheese cake both were not too Rich but it was very delicious ❤️❤️. Drinks I dont remember the names in the image the drink with the red straw was delicious it had some fudge name on it 😅..the other with he normally white straw was very very bad it had a artificial flavor to it. That drink had some frostini name. Will go for the cakes again. The atmosphere was great. Loved the deco and the colors.

Butter Boutique is a true treat for anyone with a sweet tooth. Their cakes are absolutely delicious, though slightly on the pricier side—but completely worth it! I especially love the Tres Leches, the Arabian Knight, and the Double Chocolate Fudge Cake. Every bite is rich, indulgent, and perfectly crafted. A must-visit for cake lovers!

Love everything about BB. Their staff are very kid and helpful. They are always smiling and that’s a big win for BB. Their food is really yummy though Iam not a fan of sugary stuff. I tried their matcha rose syrup drink today and I was mesmerized. And not to forget their coffee; they are the best. One of the 2 coffee shops I know that mixes the perfect milk to coffee ratio. We were in the neighborhood and we ended up going to London House of Coffee on 27 April 2025 as we wanted to grab coffee and a quick bite. We went and placed the order and went upstairs as they said that they will bring the order to us. We waited for some time and as the food and the coffee still didn’t arrive, we once again went downstairs to check what was happening and to figure out the reason for the delay. It seemed like they were doing their own work and have forgotten about our order. When we told them that it was getting late for us then they said that they’ll bring the food and the coffee fast. We actually got the food and the coffee some time after complaining about the delay. We ordered one cafe latte and an iced americano along with the food. Both the coffees were burnt and they tasted horrible (actually tasted like drinking charcoal). The taste of food that we ordered was average. Considering the other coffee shops in Colombo, London House of Coffee charge a higher price and it’s really disappointing when you cannot even serve a good cup of coffee to your customers for the price you charge. There were couple of girls working on that day and we clearly noticed that they had not been trained properly and they had no idea of what they were doing either. More than anything they were in a rush to get done with work and to leave. We left the place by leaving the coffees as it was as it was undrinkable. Definitely this is not a place worth visiting again.

From my teenage days this is my favorite coffee shop. Last year when I visited Sri Lanka in September, me and my friend visited the coffee place. Still I’m impressed with the quality of the coffee and the food and also the atmosphere. Really enjoyed.

We really enjoyed our visit today., the coffee shake, iced latte, scrambled croissant, and egg club sandwich were all excellent! The staff were very friendly, polite, and professional throughout our time there.

My visit was on 17th Jan 2024. I loved the ambiance. It really gives the atmosphere of coffee house in UK. The food and beverages are overly priced. Portion sizes aren’t worth the money. Calm and quiet place. Nicely arranged furniture with a reading corner. They provided coffee with sugar to my surprise.

Whight & Co is a beloved cafe in Colombo, Sri Lanka, famous for its locally grown coffee. Previously located on Marine Drive, Whight & Co. has now moved to Alfred House Lane. I started visiting this place in October 2016 and quickly fell in love with their coffee and English breakfast. The food is excellent, and the staff is warm and welcoming, making it feel like a home away from home. Whenever I return to India, I always carry their coffee powder with me. I would be thrilled if they opened a branch in India. Some must-try items include their cold brew, avocado toast, and seafood dishes.

This was (note ‘was’) a place I enjoyed my daily coffee. (Flat white) I was proud to see local 100% Arabica being roasted and served. The baristas were very friendly, gave great service and knew the job. I love to support boutique businesses rather than big chains. Especially if it involves homegrown produce. The coffee is very good and I had plans to travel back with several Kgs of coffee beans. Then suddenly one day when I went for my usual Flat White, I got a very diluted coffee like a cappuccino. I knew it was a single shot of coffee and not two. When I asked the Barista if he forgot to put the second shot of espresso, very meekly he said “we’ve been told to put only one shot of espresso in the flat white”!! He was very apologetic and said he knew that a flat white is supposed to have 2 shots, but ‘management’ (lady owner) had specifically instructed them to put only one shot of espresso going forward!! Such a shame. Everything was perfect before ‘management’ interference. Secondly, ‘management’ is teaching the baristas to do the wrong thing? Insisting that a flat white should only have one shot? How terrible is that. Being ignorant is one thing, but to force your ignorance on knowledgable and experienced staff is a crime. What a shame. Owners - Your stubborn and ignorance lost a good customer and business.

It’s a small cafe with few tables. Their coffee is nice. But we bought 2 water bottles and it cost 990lkr. Price is mentioned on the bottle as 90lkr. Selling it to an absurd price. It’s just a normal water bottle and it’s absolutely ridiculous. Such a rip off! Also Wifi doesn’t work.

We used to visit your restaurent when it was on marine drive and enjoyed coffee and bfast very much and was disappointed notice it was no more .. we just happen to randomly find your new location odd duplication road and was turned off by the server as we had just ordered 3 amaricanos and a couple of cakes , but we were told by the server that there is a “problem” as they will closing be closing in 30 mts !!! I never tell a customer who come during business hours that they essentially can’t serve coffee.. 30 May before closing .. you are a coffee shop !!!! we just left …

Walked in causally on a Saturday evening. The place had a couple of guests, thats all. Good ambience. I believe they have dining on the first floor as well. They have high chairs too. They had a good tune running in the background. Staff were very helpful, courteous and pleasant mannered. The cost is ok, not that high. The food is good. I had the Crumbed Calamari with Wasabi Aioli and the Chicken Schnitzel Burger, along with a coffee milkshake. Overall the taste is good. The portion size is filling too.

Has a calm atmosphere where you can both work and dine. Food had a special flavor which I loved and hadn’t experienced before. Prices are bit on the higher side though. But considering the taste of the food, service and the atmosphere it is worth the price.

Place is easy to find. Very limited parking. As you enter the restaurant it's very relaxing. Menu is simple and easy to navigate. Drinks and coffee menu is same as other places, but it's fresh and quality. Ordered the meat platter which was quite filling. Fish and chips was nicely done and pasta was cooked on point. Service was moderate and food made the table within 20min. It's a clean and tidy place. Since it was a weekend it wasn't crowded at all and parking was very easy. I'm sure during weekdays it will be packed. Overall I would give it a solid 8.2/10 & I would recommend this place

We had dinner at coco veranda. Absolutely loved the set menu chicken noodles. We tried the chocolate milkshake and strawberry milkshake and loved them! The staff is super friendly and their service was fast! Love the atmosphere too. The best part it they don’t have service charges/ taxes!! 🤩

Great Food, Great Value, and a Super Smooth Digital Experience! I recently visited Tea Avenue Jawatte and had such a positive experience! The entire staff was super friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in.The new digitalized ordering system is truly a game-changer. It was really easy,we just had to scan the QR code, choose exactly what we needed, and then had the option to pay online by card or pay at the counter with the new digitalized system. The efficiency was amazing; even though it was a bit busy at the moment we walked in, this system made placing our order quick, and our food was ready super fast, landing on our table within minutes.A big shout-out to Ishen and his colleagues for introducing the digital menu to us and ensuring we were comfortable with the process. That level of service, combined with the convenience, really sets them apart.On top of the great tech and service, the food delivered! I recently made a special order for red velvet cheesecake which was one of their best cakes. I tasted the cake, it was not as good as it used to be before, the red velvet cheesecake supposed to have sponge cake with sugar syrup but this time it had normal butter cake, also the cream cheese frosting was quite less, anyway I was half way happy with the frosting. Hope your quality improves. There's parking space available along with a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating space. The café offers a solid variety of dishes, desserts, and drinks. It's also halal. The ambience is cozy and perfect for hangouts. You're also able to scan the menu and place an order while remaining in your seat without having to visit the counter. The customer service was great. The Blueberry Cheesecake was delicious. The biscuit layer could be eaten just by itself and the cream cheese layer was perfect to scoop up and indulge with the blueberry topping. The food was great. We ordered an ice mocha, the kebab rice and chocolate cake. The food was top notch. The environment is perfect for anyone who wants a chills place with AC to study or get some work done. I wouldn’t recommend it as a hang out place, as it’s full of people who are trying to get work done. You’ll end up disturbing people with the noise.

I had a lovely experience at Caramel Pumpkin — a perfect place for delicious food and a chill atmosphere. I tried the caramel banana waffles, and they were amazing! Crispy waffles topped with fresh bananas, smooth caramel drizzle, and whipped cream — beautifully presented and super tasty. 😍 For the main dish, I enjoyed a creamy and flavorful pasta, cooked just right and served hot. Alongside, I had their iced chocolate milkshake — thick, chocolaty, and very refreshing! 🍫🥤 The vibe of the place is peaceful and cozy, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Ordered the pol sambal egg melt and it was amazing! I’ve had it a couple of times now and the taste is always consistent & super tasty. The bread is fresh and really good too. Definitely recommend!

I tried Caramel Pumpkin for the first time and was seriously impressed tbh. We ordered the Chick N Cheese and the Chicken Parmiajiana and both were absolutely heavenly. Also tried the tiramisu cake as well which was a bit on the dry side but still okay. Also it’s a really good working space.

I ordered strawberry&cream waffles and hot chocolate for breakfast and was really happy with it! The prices are reasonable compared to the quality and the portion size was really big, I was satisfied with it. I came back for a lunch and had the hashbrown burger with the add-ons and it was wonderful! The athmosphere was really nice and the staff was friendly.

Department of Coffee is such a great spot! The coffee is really good, the food is delicious, and the portion sizes are just right. It's the kind of place where you can truly relax and enjoy your time, perfect for catching up with friends or just unwinding with a good cup of coffee. One of the few places in Colombo where you can find non-fat milk, for which I am really grateful! 🙌🤗 ☕️ The minimalist decor, the variety on offer - on both the beverage and the food menus - is a big plus point. Staff is quick and efficient. However you need some time to get their attention if it’s at peak time. Food is great. Beverages are quite good too. But the roast chicken needs to improve quite a bit (too dry and bland chefs!). If you have an iPhone, WiFi access has a small tweak to set up - get the help of their staff for it 🙂 Ideal for an early morning visit. Keep up the great work 👏

Can’t go wrong with anything you order. I’ve been there so many times now and it’s consistently good! The prices are very steep though. If you grab food and drinks be prepared to drop ~10k for two people. But if you’re just grabbing a coffee or a matcha to sit and work, it’s not gonna break the bank. The food is honestly so good that you can’t help but order.

I recently visited the Department of Coffee, and it’s a great spot for coffee lovers! ☕ The coffee was really good, and the atmosphere is perfect for working on your laptop. They even have a room for group work! Just a heads up, the prices are a bit high, but the quality definitely matches. Worth checking out.

However, after placing my order, it took quite a long time for the coffee to be delivered. On the positive side, the restaurant wasn’t too crowded, so it felt peaceful and relaxed. Wow! The “Yellow Chicken Rice” at The Commons is absolutely delicious — a wonderful new addition to their lunch menu. The presentation was excellent, and the flavor was spot on. The desserts need much improving. The chocolate biscuit pudding and chocolate brownie mousse are pretty okay. The red velvet cake on the other hand was pretty bad- very dry and tasteless. The frosting was definitely not made with cream cheese and had an off taste. Tasted like a very cheap cake dyed red with a funny white frosting.

OG’s of the food game. This has been there for over 15 years for sure. The food has been decent throughout. They had one of the best cheese kottu’s in town and also the friend chicken basket.. They also had good roti portions for dinner like egg roti and stuff.

Ordered the Pesto and chicken Bagel Burger and Vietnamese Iced coffee. The pesto sauce was drizzled in the plate and not inside of the burger which I was fine with since I'm not a pesto sauce fan. The presentation of the bagel burger was excellent. The burger overall was average. The Vietnamese Iced coffee was good but don't expect it to be similar to the authentic. The seating and ambience was chill and good place to hangout with friends and family. You have to self order and the waiters are friendly and good service. Came here with my friends for a hearty brunch and It absolutely did not disappoint. What we ordered was the beef benni, Pesto & Chicken bagel burger, butternut squash Roti stack with grilled mushroom and Red pepper hummus toast. For beverages we had the vietnamese coffee and the strawberry Matcha Among the main dishes the beef benni was absolutely delish. However if you want a safe option, the bagel is the choice. Regardless it's a Flavor bomb in your mouth. The drinks personally I enjoyed the matcha however the Vietnamese coffee with the a variety of spices really elevated the flavor. That's definitely recommended. Lastly the customer service was as expected. Polite, welcoming with a friendly atmosphere I would however like a minor update to the menu, that is to split the drinks menu where the chocolate and matcha options are together. Adding on Matcha chocolate would be a great addition to the menu.

We had a great breakfast at seeds coffee. Atmosphere is great in a very nice building in a quiet street in Colombo. My highlight was the coldbrew, that was very very fruity and tasty. Food was also delicious with good vegetarian options. Prices I would say are within normal range for western cafe‘s in the area. Would definitely recommend coming here.

I like Seed Cafe. It has a lovely atmosphere inside an old villa and feels warm and charming. It can get crowded at times, but if you manage to find a seat it becomes a really nice spot to relax and hang out.

The food there is out of this world. I loved the peanut rice noodles, so tangy and flavorful. Could have easily eaten three portions. Also their hojicha latte was great. Awesome place for vegans, they serve oat milk and have lots of vegan options on the menu. Friendly and caring staff. Nice atmosphere & fast service.

Been there many times and it's the best coffee spot in Colombo. Very good and quality coffee, amazing and helpful staff (last time they helped me to set my grinder). Food is amazing - lots of vegetarian options which I appreciate, variety of sweet treats and you can buy the beans as well. Sometimes it's very crowded, especially on weekends, but I always found a spot to enjoy coffee here.

Nice and Unique This is a nice restaurant /coffee place. Love their unique menu. The good thing about their menu is that they got small portions for reasonable prices, so you do not have to worry about ordering something you dont like and not being able to order something else due to price factor. The prawn slider was delicious ... and the hot chocolate was amazing . That hot chocolate was just like the one i had in Italy. I have never ever had such a delicious hot chocolate in Colombo ever. Best specialty coffee we found in Sri Lanka in 3 month. The owner absolutely passionate about coffee and real expert. He has numerous sorts of coffee. As we understood he runs trainings for baristas in best coffee places in town. Food is good, has a descent cheeses as ingredients. Croissant is real croissant and made in interesting local fusion way. The portions size is much more European than lankian) The prices are a bit high, but it goes with a territory))

Cozy place with a very pleasant ambience. It's very conveniently located right off high level and surprisingly quite and peaceful given the busy location. The owner is very friendly. Unfortunately I only went there for coffee with a friend so cannot comment on the food, but the menu looked very interesting. Their coffee is great ! Highly appreciate what they are doing to support local upcoming artists by showcasing their work for zero commission. If you are a real die-hard coffee lover - this place should be in your list. Especially if you really know what good coffee is. They have decent specialty options as far as espresso for single origin beans, like pour over, aeropress. The bites they offer are also decent. Don't expect big fulling portions - this place is not about full your stomach, it's about satisfy your receptors. Also nice local art in design and friendly owner to talk to are the subjects to enjoy this place.

We had a really good experience at Java Lounge yesterday (Almost today). It was quite late when we needed a cake urgently, and we were so glad to find out Java Lounge is open until midnight. From the moment we called, this person named Lahiru, was very helpful and polite, making the whole process smooth and really easy for us. Even though we were little late to make it to the shop, he stayed there till we arrive and still handled everything with a friendly and professional attitude. Recently, I’ve found myself becoming more interested in art and architecture—largely thanks to my wife’s influence. This café, designed by the legendary Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa, is a true gem. As the pioneer of tropical modernism, Bawa’s vision comes to life beautifully here. The space is simply stunning—a harmonious blend of art, history, and nature. The design feels open and organic, with thoughtful touches that reflect both cultural heritage and environmental sensitivity. You’ll even find select artworks on display, adding to the artistic ambiance. As for the food, some dishes were decent, though I’d suggest steering clear of the beef options—they were overly salty in my experience. Prices are on the higher side, but considering the unique setting and atmosphere, it’s absolutely worth the visit.

If you’re looking for real, delicious food in Sri Lanka, stop searching — this is the place. Everywhere else, I left half my food untouched… but at The Gallery Café, I cleaned my plate and almost ordered more. Absolutely recommended. Surprisingly artful and decorated in a very stylish way, this place positively welcomes you in a unique setting. Prices are higher accordingly and with exception of the uncomfortable chairs and the alcohol-free Poya day rules which are part of Sri Lanka culture, we had an excellent evening. Definitely recommendable. Especially the champagne and seafood risotto's were great. Our daughters had a sirloin and fillet steak that were very sizable, a shame their vegetables were not so well cooked.

We had an evening dinner in the outdoor area, a little off the beaten track but well worth the visit. Booking was easy via WhatsApp. Service was attentive, and the menu offered a huge range of both food and drinks. The spicy margarita was excellent, and I’d highly recommend the baked crab to share as a starter. The seared tuna and black pork curry were both outstanding. A perfect mix of Western and local flavours—definitely a spot to revisit. Would be fab in large groups. Pricing on the higher side for Sri Lanka, but pay for quality.

So the entrance to this restaurant is one of the best I’ve been to and I’ve been to thousands of restaurants (yes I’m giving away my age a bit) so expectations are already set high. The menu is varied from different parts of the world so there’s plenty to choose from. The food prices are amongst the highest in Columbo so again expectations are growing. The service was reasonable. However, it all went downhill when the food arrived. Salty was an understatement. Not just one element of the dish but two of the three main elements. The third was white rice that was literally glued together! Needless to say the plate of food was returned and I left having just drank water (to wash away the salty taste!) Definitely worth a visit for the entrance but after that turn around and get your food somewhere else!

Place provides amazing set of dining options. The presentation definitely match the vibe and architecture of the establishment. Geoffrey Bawa’s unique architecture definitely gives this place an extra flair. Pricing is in somewhat of a premium level. Highly recommended. Will visit again.

The Gallery Café is a beautiful spot with a lot of charm and a lovely ambience. The design and overall feel of the place are very nice, and we enjoyed sitting in such a relaxing environment. However, there were quite a lot of leaves scattered around, which made the place feel a bit untidy. The food and drinks were decent – the carrot cake was delicious, and the coffee was okay. But a big downside was the service time. We ordered two cappuccinos, and it took about 20 minutes for them to arrive. These are simple drinks that shouldn’t take that long to prepare, especially since the café wasn’t even busy at the time. It makes me wonder how long it might take when the place is crowded. Overall, a lovely setting but let down by slow service.

We went there for the high tea platter . Service was really good . I think it was Mahesh and Maleesha who served us. They were very friendly and welcoming. We even got complimentary mojitos .. cuz there was a slight delay . Def a spot to check out

Ok i dont know how to start. 1st the waiter was so bad and SLOW. It took him ages to figure out whats going on. We went in during the happy hour where you get 25% off on cocktails and mocktails.(i have a picture attached below) and the had some error in their Facebook page post and they admitted their mistake. So then we ordered mocktails we toasted more like water mixed with some cordial. It was soo bad. The food was no exception. And they had a card offer and took the card away and came back saying its not working. It looked like that they were faking to charge the full amount. So if i could rate them negative 5 stars, i would. Highly disappointed.

Its not worth the money that we spent here as its very expensive for small positions. Don't think we will visit again as the five stars much cheaper than cloud cafe.

One of the few places in colombo to spend a peaceful Friday night. Rooftop has a nice view in the evening. Place is really calm with live music. Staff is very friendly. Unless you are sitting near the bar, service may take time. The food is good but the portions are relatively small. Vast variety of drinks available on the menu. Cocktails are good, while the spirits are relatively costly. Happy hours(25% off) from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm. It costs LKR2000-2500 per head.

We visited the restaurant on a 31st of December buying a Rs. 5000/- ticket. The restaurant was little bit busy. Food was okay. But we had issues with the service. They billed us with every order instead of billing the all ordered at the very end. The ticket was redeemable for Rs. 2500/- on music + food + drink. But they were going to exclude the cost for the drinks from the redeemable amount. But after a discussion things got resolved. I had mixed reactions with all the food and service.

Nice place. Food is not that great. Calamari had very thick coating of flur and taste is not that good. Beef nachos comes with guacamole and it was too tangy. They gave us a small review questionnaire with the bill. But no pen 😬 Service is really great. Waiters are really helpful and always try to give you an exceptional service. People smoke there. But you won't feel it due to the breeze. There are small ants on the floor and my wife got bitten by few. Menu has very good spread with many vegetarian options. I think owner will correct these once he saw the review. Make sure to give it a try. Will go again when I get a chance.

On the bright side, the lasagna I ordered was a pleasant surprise. It was really tasty and had a delicious blend of flavors. However, I did find it a tad expensive for the portion size. While the watermelon juice and pricing of certain items were a bit of a letdown, the bagels and lasagna were definitely worth trying. Really enjoyed E Café Colombo! They use only Anchor butter and even purified water for ice cubes. Self-service only, but the staff were friendly and service was quick. Lots of private dining areas. Food was yummy and don’t miss the sandwich pizza.

We ordered a slice of Cheese cake and a slice of Melting Chocolate Cake and drinks. The cheese cake was fine but the melting chocolate cake was cold, was straight out of the freezer and there was nothing melting, was rock solid even though the name suggests otherwise. The cake was quite dry and unappetising. I don't recommend their cakes.

Customer service - There is a women in the cashier who is in a different state of mind. Very disrespectful. Look at us like we came to rob the shop. If we ask a question she will give some random answer without being direct with a high tone and making it obvious to everyone. Treating us like we come there to get free food. Its a peaceful place for couples. Idk about privacy. Bt the Cabins look clean and maintained.

E-Cafe is an amazing place places to hang out with your friends and family. It’s located opposite to Police park grounds. This place has a different vibe and it’s wonderful. They have a cool menu with different verities of food and beverages. They have a decent seating area and the speciality is they have separate dining areas divided. It’s very convenient and have privacy. And you can get great photos for your social media posts as well, because they have a cool surrounding in the restaurant The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. I highly recommend this place to anyone who would like to spend a quality time with wonderful food. 😍

Our visit to Kiku Colombo, Sri Lanka was such a calm and delightful experience — definitely worth stopping by for brunch on our second day in the city. The staffs were warm and accommodating, and the food and drinks were absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. We’ll surely be back next time with my family from Dubai!

I'm delighted with this place being small, it feels spacious thanks to its open design. It's clean, and they have a small playground for toddlers (which is wonderful). What pleasantly surprised me was the food and drinks; everything is delicious and very well prepared. The coffee comes in a large cup and is delicious. They also have a wonderful drink, which I just tried, created by Gajan, part of the team that works here: "Maple Sea Salt." It's a frothy coffee with a subtle hint of flavors, and I highly recommend it. I'll definitely be back and ordering this new favorite. On the downside, - the music is quite loud, and for an early morning, I'd prefer something quieter—jazz, bossa nova, something relaxing. -The service could also be a bit faster; that would help. -Also, ordering takeout and being charged for the and box isn't really a good idea. But as I said, the place is fantastic and for sure ill recomend. Congrats

All the dishes we have tried so far are excellent. The beef is perfectly medium rare. Katsu Chicken, Dumplings, Cold Noodles, Fried Rice, Ramen, etc; all tasted really good. Service is also excellent. Will keep going here for great food.

The food here is absolutely amazing, and the street view adds a really nice touch to the experience. But what truly makes this place stand out is the staff. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, they really go out of their way to make sure you’re taken care of. I even asked if they knew where I could find a card box to ship some things, and they were kind enough to give me one of theirs. Such a great vibe!

I visited this place on a Sunday, which was a mistake. The noise was incredibly loud, like a market. Despite a reservation, we waited ages, and their seating system was chaotic. We even had to wait after being told our table was ready, and another diner was moved for us. The staff tried their best but seemed overwhelmed. I wouldn't go on a Sunday again due to the noise and seating issues. However, the Western and Japanese fusion food is genuinely good, though pricey. Beautiful restaurant in Colombo. After eating Sri Lankan food for three days in a row I needed something else. This Japanese style restaurant was truly amazing. I got the tofu, shrimp and pork belly skewers alongside six amazing prawn dumplings. The price was quite high considering the prices in Colombo and the pork belly was too hard for my taste. But the rest was amazing, highly recommended it.

Literary out of all the outlets I have visited, the best outlet indeed is the Staple Street Outlet. I have been visiting the outlet regularly and despite of minimum parking facility given. (if you know you know the hazzle, Please look into this - kind request to the management of Barista) Anyhow, the staff, including the manager, senior and junior hospitality members, and trainees, are super friendly, and as I have noticed and seen, they have always given their best to satisfy customers. Food preparations are really good and quick, and the services are highly appreciated even in the busiest time of the day, such as early mornings. Since the place is not that big, you might think this is not the best place for office work stuff, but I have to say it is not that difficult with the staff and the service given always. Nice place with a lovely atmosphere... The establishment is definitely showing its age and the Coffee Bean seems to have lost some of its quality in the service and the facilities. I thought of writing a review so they can take necessary action to rectify customer experience. The concern i noticed here is the coffee is not hot enough, which affects the overall experience. I have been to many coffee shops in Sri lanka and US. A great cup of coffee should be served at the right temperature to bring out its full flavor and aroma. Unfortunately, this hasn’t been the case here. I hope the team can look into this and maintain the high standards that made this place a favorite in the first place.

Hot chocolate, hot vanilla, and hot caramel aren't on the menu, but they offer these specialties as well. There's an (almost) soundproof meeting room where about 10 people can comfortably sit and have a meeting or small celebration. The meeting room rate is LKR 4,000 per hour (as of May 9th, 2025).

For breakfast we ordered below shown dishes and there were ok. Not amazing or anything just OK. That doesn’t mean food is bad but the dishes for morning are small in number. Such a beautiful and aesthetic place to dine. Very few spots can have both the standard of food being scrumptious and the atmosphere of the restaurant be amazing. The cool forest vibes in this semi hidden gem makes it worth the visit. And every single dish I've had is impeccably flavoured. My favourite was the fried calamari with tartar sauce. Yum!

I had the chance to visit T Lounge in Colombo and it was a truly unique experience. The variety of teas they offer is astonishing and each one feels carefully crafted. The tea experience itself was superb and the ambiance of the place makes it even more enjoyable. The service was a little slow start but picked up later . The food was also very good and paired well with the tea. The place itself is an experience and I’m glad I found this place . Plenty of variety to try their tea and I’d surely come back Overall, T Lounge is a wonderful spot to enjoy a relaxed tea experience. The atmosphere is warm, the tea selection is excellent, and the food is worth trying. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Colombo.

Dropped by t-Lounge by Dilmah and had their katsu chicken burger and Kandy Lamissi Iced tea – absolutely delicious! The portions was generous and definitely worth the price. The menu has a great spread with plenty of interesting options. Looking forward to my next visit!

Recently hosted a surprise high tea for my wife's birthday here. The staff were very helpful (Chamara) and flexible for a lot of my requests. The event went of very well and it was an overall very pleasant experience. Definitely will come back here again.

These iced teas were incredible. Honestly, they beat every tea or lemonade I’ve ever had in Europe. Perfectly balanced, super refreshing and full of flavor. If you’re even remotely into tea, don’t skip this place.

I am quite frequent visitor here, I love the tea ranges, my favourite would be the cardamom tea. Food here is also marvellous with a good quantity and it's served fresh. 5⭐️ for the service and feel you get in here.

Delicious food and a warm, homey place. Prices are a little bit on the high end, but the food is well worth the price. Can get a bit crowded on weekends and week nights. The only complaint I have is the service can be real slow. I've noticed several times that even though there are four or five of the staff behind the counter, but only one person runs around taking orders and bringing the food. So the service is excruciatingly slow when there's a bit of a crowd.

Pretty nice place. There’s seating available on the inside for about 12 people, and there’s more seating in the courtyard. The interior is nicely decorated. It has a welcoming feel to it. We had to wait what seemed like a long time for the food to arrive after ordering, but I can say that the wait was worth it. We had a kebab, a chicken run burger, a fudge brownie cake shake and a double cappuccino. The cappuccino was strong but creamy. The cake shake was exceptional, a little too sweet for my taste, but my girlfriend loved it. The burger was juicy and well presented with soft bread. The kebab too was quite well made. The staff was friendly and helpful. Hope to visit again soon.

Used to drop by there for desserts often. Quite nice place and has got a great atmosphere. Except the fact the interior is a bit girlish. Often I've tried the Brownie Bomb and the Giant Cookie. And, some other desserts. Favorite dessert spot so far. Liked the vibe when it's not so crowded. Takes a while to prepare the dishes though. Different kinda seating arrangements are available. Some games and an entire book shelf to kill the time until you get the ordered dish. And, the light music. Recently saw that they've got a lot of flowers. Suitable place for a date too. Has got parking for reasonable amount of vehicles. Air-conditioned, Good customer service. Tip: Try the giant cookie and the brownie bomb (with strawberries) at least once. You won't find that in the regular menu 😎

The ambiance and the interior is classic and so artistic. It gives you a comfortable feeling to just walk around the place. The food is simply delicious. The ingredients they use here is of good quality and as a result gives the customer a mouth watering experience. Completely in love with the Fudge Brownies and the main courses. The beverages are well prepared and soo scrumptious. Recommending this to anybody who are food lovers.

Not worth the price. So the food there is incredibly overpriced, and so are some of the drinks. I had the creamy chicken pasta and tbh it didn't taste as good as I expected and the quantity was very little! It barely half of a dish. The Nutella hot chocolate I had was also not up to any standard. The only good thing I liked was the caramel latte. Still overpriced, but at least it was good. The staff was nice tho. They didn't give us cutlery when we got our food and we went to get some before they came and offered us new ones. The atmosphere is also nice, although it did get too hot inside at one point because it was overcrowded for an event that even staying outside was cooler.

It was super food experience... loved about everything but ambience.. the place looks quiet modern from outside but when u go inside it’s not that eye-catching except for the corner with bean bags!!!! Their menu is quiet small but had nice and unique names!!! (Loved the names on it) but was bit difficult to know what’s the dish is since the description was missing important stuff!! But the staff came and explain.. FOOD : we ordered chicken run and the hills have pies and a beetroot juice... food lived up to the standard we expected.. mutton was spot on. Chicken run gave us a flavor punch!! And must mention about the presentation!!! Their PRESENTATION IS JUST WOWW.. loved it and surely instagram worthy.. staff is friendly and really friendly.. service is fast.. negative point i notice is the washroom area.. it was not clean and it was wet.. haven’t had tissues or hand wash ... and toilet was a mess,. So I visited this cafe last Sunday. I have heard good things about the place. So I decided to check it out myself. I loved the food, coffee, pricing, staff and the location. The only thing that I didn'y like was the ambiance and set up of the place. See, the walls are coloured in Grey and I personally feel it gives the place a very dull feeling. The decorations were minimal and simple and I think that is okay. But there are other small things like uneven table legs, the glasses facing the road was not very clean. It had a lot of finger marks. I truly believe that this place can and will attract more people, if the owners rework on the decor and ambiance of the place and give it a small marketing push on social media. Again, the food and the staff is brilliant! Pricing is reasonable too and they have a huge car park! So useful for such a location.

It is a simple calm place in bambalapitiya facing to gall road with a different ambience. We ordered a creamy vegetable pie, a classic spaghetti chicken carbonara, a chicken and seafood thai rice, a tuna panini, a chocolate milkshake. Spaghetti chicken carbonara didn't taste any special. Tuna panini was great but it was a small portion. Creamy vegetable pie and thai rice were different items with taste and look. And it was a good different indeed. Really liked their chicken and seafood rice and so much worthy for the price. They have given nice names to their food items on the menu.

Me and 5 other friends visited this place. After a conversation we managed to arrange a place to sit and spend the time. After placing the order, it took some time for the food be ready. The food was well prepared, tasty and also the presentation was great. Seems like the place haven’t been maintained perfectly. The glass windows were bit dusty, wall paintings were faded in some places, there was a rusty fan too. It would be better if this place can be maintained properly.

Small and cozy cafe. Galle road frontage . Didn't have an issue with parking. The interior decor is a tad sparse. However they more than make up for it with superlative friendly service. The food we sample was all vegetarian, but was excellent too. Great place to grab a quick bite.

The new branch of The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, is located at the lobby area of the new Access Towers building. it is an ideal place to sit down with your friends and do some work, or for business meetings. I use this place as a meeting point as I could meet friends in this very relaxed atmosphere. If you purchase something from the Shop, you will be able to access the free WiFi[refer your bill for the WiFi code] and you could also request for a plug point to work on your laptop. You could wait inside as long as you want as there is a lot of seating accommodation According my experience, The shop does not serve great food but passable, even though it does not give you the full value for money. Since I am a coffee lover, I like the Cappuccino they serve, If you order food and coffee, The staff serves both Food and Coffee together, so when it is time to have your coffee, it is not hot enough. I find that, a lot of coffee shops do this same mistake :-) The staff member are very polite, very patient and attentive. Further they communicate with customers in a professional manner. I like this place and also the main branch in Horton Place. The Coffee Bean is one of my favourite places to meet friends and sip a cup of Cappuccino in a very relaxed atmosphere.

I had a double chocolate latte. It was good. It's better if it's more cooler inside. I didn't see much power outlets.

Tea, coffee and pastries or baked goods are alright but all other food items such as salads & wraps are quite subpar. For example, the Chinese chicken salad had only a very few pieces of chicken, a sprinkle of fried flakes & noodles and a huge pile of lettuce. I mean, Seriously?

The Barnesbury was a great place to dine-in at. It had a great ambiance and a good interior. The staff were friendly, prompt and courteous. The place was spacious with enough privacy and the food was tasty. Especially enjoyed their The Barnesbury Special Cilli Prawn Pasta and their Mocha Frappe. We had a mini birthday celebration there and had a cake delivered to our table by the staff and were able to get some good photographs with the aesthetic background in view. All in all, it was a great place. We went around 11 am on a less busy weekend so we sort of had the whole place to ourselves which was fantastic. Plus they have a well kept garden outside with a good view! Totally recommend the place for a private outing especially for a mini celebration with your loved ones.

My boyfriend ordered the crispy chicken and fries dish, and I swear if love at first bite was a thing, this was it. That chicken? Crispy like it trained in martial arts. Juicy like it had been blessed by the poultry gods themselves. And the presentation? Excellent! We lowkey annoyed the staff (okay, maybe highkey) because we were indecisive gremlins who couldn't pick between half the menu. But the person who took our order? Absolute legend. Patient, helpful, and a total gem even though he had every right to throw a menu at us. Would I eat it again? Yes. Would I marry it? Possibly. Would I recommend it? Only if you’re ready to be forever disappointed by all other fried foods. 10/10 would annoy the staff again for another round.

This is a small outlet of Simply strawberries. Just two people are working here and only self service is available. However it was almost filled when I visited on a saturday afternoon. Strawberry cheese cake was delicious and worth the price but Strawberry Milkshake wasn't up to the mark and exorbitantly priced in my opinion. Service is fast and waiting time was roughly about five minutes. Ambience is alright.

I’ve tried several strawberry dishes at Simple Strawberry by Jagro, and most of them are really tasty and fresh! 🍓 The cheesecake is delicious - creamy and full of strawberry flavour. 😋 But honestly, the strawberry tart was a miss for me - no real taste, so I wouldn’t recommend it. Also, we ordered extra strawberries because the staff didn’t mention that most dishes already come with plenty. A small tip - the shop is a bit hard to find as it’s behind a building, but it’s located right in front of the Cotton Collection store. Once you find it, you’ll love the cozy vibe and sweet treats! 🍓✨

I'm absolutely in love with this boutique. It's a peaceful spot located right in front of the Cotton Collection clothing store, which offers convenient parking. However, it can only accommodate a few people at a time, as there are only four tables available. The menu is exclusively desserts, so if you're looking for hot dishes, this might not be the right place for you. The food is delicious, especially the Waffles with Berries & Cream, which are my favorite. However, the portion sizes are smaller compared to other Jagro locations, so I'm giving it 4 stars.

Simply Strawberries by Jagro at Cotton Collection is an absolute delight! The strawberries are fresh, juicy, and beautifully presented. I especially loved their strawberry cheesecake – creamy, perfectly balanced, and incredibly satisfying. The staff is friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. The only downside is the limited seating, but the quality of the treats more than makes up for it!

Nice place to sit and enjoy smoothie. However, seats are extremely limited that I had to finish my smoothie as soon as possible so I can let the next people sit. Prices are quite high comparing to the drink quality, it tastes just alright, nothing very special.

Had an amazing late-night experience at Pepper Mint Café! We went around 2 AM with two of my friends, and honestly, this 24-hour café didn’t disappoint at all. The food was absolutely worth it — a little on the pricey side, but every bite proved why. The kotthu was unbelievably good, and the club sandwich was just mind-blowing — genuinely the best I’ve had in my life. The burger completely surprised us too. We thought it would be small, but when it arrived… it was massive! One burger alone could have fed all three of us — and it tasted amazing. The mojitos were refreshing, and their signature tambili with ice was just top-notch. Perfect spot for late-night vibes, good food, and a chill atmosphere. Highly recommend! 🙌🌙🍔🥤

We visited Peppermint Cafe and were extremely disappointed with the overall experience. After being seated, we were asked to move to another table because of a supposed reservation, though no one ever came to that table during the entire hour we were there. Later, when we went to place our order, another staff member asked us to move again, and shortly after, we were asked to move a third time!!. It was frustrating and completely ruined our mood. The staff didn’t seem familiar with their own menu, and communication was poor throughout. Our food took about 40 minutes to arrive, and honestly, it wasn’t worth the price. Because of how unpleasant the experience had become, we decided to get our food packed. When we asked for takeaway, the drinks were handed to us without a proper simple seal like how are customers supposed to carry drinks like that, especially if driving? To make things worse, the cleanliness was terrible. The seats had hair and stains, and no one seemed to care about cleaning them ,this is basic hospitality knowledge. Charging a service fee for this kind of service feels unacceptable. We spent nearly Rs. 8,000, and it was not worth it at all. Please improve your service quality and staff training.

While we enjoyed the pleasant ambiance, our dining experience was disappointing. The staff seemed unfamiliar with the menu, and the hot batter cuttlefish was poorly prepared—filled with onions and missing batter. The waiter’s explanation, attributing the issues to a water problem, felt unprofessional and added to the poor service. Additionally, the Passion mocktail was made with cordial instead of fresh ingredients, which was also disappointing. We hope these concerns can be addressed to enhance future experiences.

The view from the outdoor seating area is breathtaking. It overlooks port city and the vast sea. Unfortunately, the food was a let down. The pizza rather dry and flavourless. The ingredients listed in the menu were lacking on the pizza itself. We also had cocktails, the classic margarita… was not lacking something I can’t really specify.

Waitress is very kind, but the waited like at least one hour for our meals. Drinks require also a long time. Not that cool if you desided to spend your day at the mall and actually spent your day at this cafe.

The sheesha was extremely bad. They provided Bbq coals which is used on food instead on sheesha. When I objected they immediately agreed to there mistake but didn’t provided any replacement instead gave me a bill immediately mentioning that we cannot cancel this& when I asked to speak to there manager they said he is in china. So being honest this please is not for sheesha lovers!!!!!

All in all, a pleasant stay at Hilton Colombo. While it didn’t quite feel like a full 5-star experience, the front of house staff were a real highlight. Bakhti and Daniel, in particular, stood out — friendly, attentive, and professional. Bakhti even arranged a lovely cake and decorated the room for my parents’ anniversary, which was a really thoughtful touch. The breakfast was a bit chaotic, and the food and drink quality could be improved, but despite that, the hotel is a great base for exploring Colombo. It is very safe, secure, and gorgeous, with a lovely courtyard featuring a water feature and swans. I’d happily recommend it for a comfortable stay.

We had an amazing anniversary stay at Hilton! Everything was excellent from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond to make our day special. Housekeeping (Kumudu) provided great service, and we were surprised with a delicious cake and beautiful towel bed décor. The hospitality was outstanding, and the restaurant Graze was excellent. I made a reservation for 8 people for Oktoberfest on 9th November 2025, & I made the payments on 02/10/25. Made the payment early Hoping to reserve a good table , Some one called Kavindya (table reservations) took the booking. Called her few times requesting for a menu (for few of my foreign friends) she never got back to me.. We managed to arrive on the venue around 7:15pm again to grab a good spot & 98% of the tables were empty, she said there was a change of tables, and she took us & ask us to sit in a corner table so far away from the stage. Like on the last row, when we asked for a table near by she said “All the tables are reserved! & if you want she can refund the money” I asked for her manager & a lady call Natasha clams to be the manager came & said the same.. they couldn’t explain when I asked them on what basis you reserved the other tables. I argued with her saying if there is a table resavation or a table number why didn’t take responsibility to mention it on the ticket it self when we make the booking. It’s very disappointing to see how these women (your staff, so called managers ) act to ruin the good will of this international hotel, they make Favourations for people they know & treat other guests poorly. I hope the management will take action towards these people & look in to this issue without ignoring these situations. People spend money & come there to have a good time enjoy. Don’t make it a habit of running it for others so because you want treat your own special. We won’t be tolerating these kinda behavior from Colombo Hilton. I need a feedback regarding this or I will be contacting who can assist to this.

The Best Hotel I had stayed so far. Wonderful courteous caring staff ! From the staff at entrance right up to the room attentant you cannot fault them. Excellant service. Beautiful fountain garden with swans and fish ! Fantastic view of city n sea. Very near to attractions. This will be my hotel in all my future holidays in Sri Lanka. Review: Oktoberfest VIP Experience So, what can I say? I decided to splash out on a VIP ticket for Oktoberfest, thinking it would offer something special, a bit of extra comfort, service, or at least some recognition for the higher price. Unfortunately, it really wasn’t worth the money. There was absolutely no difference between the VIP experience and the standard ticket. No perks, no extras, and the staff seemed completely unaware of what the VIP option even included. I actually had to go and ask someone what was supposed to be “VIP” about it, and even then, no one seemed to know. Honestly, if you’re thinking of going, save your money and just get a regular ticket. You’ll have exactly the same experience without paying the premium. That said, the food was quite good and the atmosphere was lively enough for what it was, festive, a bit chaotic, but fun in its own way. Just don’t expect anything remotely “VIP” about the so-called VIP section.

Greeted with smiles. We had fried rice both chicken and prawns. The isso thel dala was really nice. Spicy but delicious 😋. Also the potato fry was excellent. Service is excellent. The drinks were excellent. Genuine sri lankan culinary experience in the heart of colombo. You got nelum pokuna and the colombo council building for the view. Easy to have a conversation. The watalappan was fantastic as well. I didn't notice any artificial flavors or enhancers. It's a healthy genuine experience. Highly recommend!

The highlight of our short stayover at Colombo before heading to explore other parts of SL. When the 2 of us, ordered the Jaffna Crab Curry we were warned that the portion size is usually fit for 3-4 people. And to be fair, it is but little did they know our capacity to devour that delicious crab and soak in all the gravy into our set lunch menu plate with rice, bread and vegetables. I'm going to have dreams about that crab gravy. There were so many other things on the menu that caught our eye but our stomachs betrayed us by only allowing us to eat so much. Coming back again on the next visit to Colombo to savour more.

We had roti paratha, veggie curry, prawns, milk hopper and buffalo milk. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a sri lankan experience in Colombo! :)

Recently visited Upali’s by Nawaloka. We tried the mix fried rice which was quite flavorful. However, the cheese chicken kottu was a bit disappointing, as the cheese was just placed on top instead of being mixed in. We also ordered a cheese roti but it didn’t meet expectations. The dishes overall were not very spicy. We tried the watalappan as well, but it tasted like it had been refrigerated for a long time. Service was okay, nothing to complain about, but nothing special either.

Food was extremely disappointing and disgusting. We went for lunch. Ordered a devilled chicken, pictures attached, its more bone than actual chicken. The fried rice isnt made of basmati, the rasam (pictures attached) is a disappointment. Who in the world add so much oul in a rasam. Its basically chicken or fish curry that they made that they served saying its rasam. The kottu is the best. Pictures attached. It smelled bad, they served us foul food. Added alot of sauce to cover the taste and smell. Soooo disgusting. Made with uncooked bread and made with old veggies and meat etc. Basically everything is bad, don’t waste your time. Please please try your food before eating. The manager apologized profusely which i appreciate but it’s his job to check everything

Firstly, we witnessed a rather rude exchange between the manager and another guest. The customer had been waiting over 20 minutes for a bottle of water and called out several times. When the manager finally came over, his response was shockingly dismissive — “Was it me whom you ordered from?” Regardless of who took the order, such an attitude from management is unacceptable in a restaurant of this standard. Adding to the concern, we were served banana leaf plates with dead spiders on them. When we raised the issue, the manager attempted to shift the blame to suppliers, saying the leaves are steamed and cleaned before use. But that misses the point — where is the hygiene control and quality check? What if someone had eaten without noticing? Overall, both the attitude of the staff and the lack of basic hygiene were extremely disappointing. This is not what one expects from a restaurant with such a reputed name. Never again.

Yesterday, we celebrated my husband’s birthday at one of our all time favorite places — a spot that holds so many beautiful memories from before we got married. And now, even with our little one, it still feels just as special to visit. Their new location is absolutely stunning the ambiance, the lighting, and the overall aesthetic create such a cozy and vibrant atmosphere. The food was beyond amazing, with an expanded menu that’s full of flavor. My top favorites have to be the seafood Nasi, seafood rice, Mongolian mixed rice, calamari, and of course, the garlic bread simply delicious! A big thank you to Madushanka for his exceptional service and warm hospitality — truly one of the friendliest and most professional staff members we’ve met. They also have a lovely private party area, and the upstairs space can be arranged to suit any occasion. Even their washrooms are spotless and well maintained, which shows how much care they put into every detail. If you haven’t checked out their new place yet, make sure to visit Shaze at Bagatalle Road you’ll absolutely love it! The cafe had an overall nice ambience, and the interior was comforting and peaceful. Very good service, good menu.. and very friendly service. Food was very good quality all around. They know how to prepare it and serve in the good manner. This time I visited with my sister. She loved the Oreo milkshake and the chicken lasagna. I love how flavorful this pasta is with all the fresh spices in it.

Good interior and food was delicious. But the attitude and service of staff was extremely disappointing. 1. Refused to serve hot water to a person with cough. Agreed after negotiations. Went to counter and asked for a second hot water and bottled water. It never came. 2. Crab served. But failed to provide cutter and apron even upon request 4. Short and staff and not equipped to handle weekend rush. Better limit customers according to resources.

I went to Café Shaze with my friends, and our experience was a mixed bag. We booked a private room for 12 people, but later 14 of us showed up. They refused to give us even two extra chairs, saying it would mess up the table layout. When we asked for another place to sit, they said it was reserved but we stayed there until closing and didn’t see any big crowd 🤷. Now about the food it’s overpriced, and the portions are too small. The taste was just okay, nothing special or worth the price. I don’t mind paying more if the food is really good, but this wasn’t worth it. Quite disappointing. The service okish, and the ambiance was excellent. Overall rating: 3/5.

We use to consume food from shaze since 2022 , those days they situated in col -07 Horton place. We use to get their signature dish fried full fish , roast paan, sambola , dhal curry and prawns curry. Those days this combo was superb and worth for money. 15th Aug again visited them by that time they have moved to col 05 Bhagathale place. This time i didn’t get the same quality of goods as those days. In my option not satisfied with the food & not worth for the price. only the friend fish and prawn curry has somewhat same taste. Dhal curry was like ordinary dhal curry u can get from road side hotels lack of coconut milk & i got kind of smell as well. Roast Paan is not soft. Those days they use to have perfect soft roast paan’s. Sambola also ordinary nothing special.

However, what truly elevated our visit from excellent to extraordinary was the exceptional staff. Upon my wife casually wondering if pesto sauce could be added to her croissant, Chef Anuja didn't hesitate. He personally went to the kitchen and prepared a fresh batch from scratch just for her. This act of genuine, above-and-beyond hospitality was unforgettable. As a Sri Lankan who spent nearly 15 years in Russia, returning to the legendary Cinnamon Grand and being welcomed by such authentic, warm-hearted service felt incredibly special. It was a powerful reminder of the legendary grace of Sri Lankan hospitality. This sentiment was echoed by our wonderful waiter, Maheshika, whose attentive and courteous service ensured we felt well-looked-after throughout. The Cinnamon Grand has certainly not lost its lustre; it continues to shine brilliantly. The food is fantastic, offering remarkable value without being overpriced. Our only minor observation was that the temperature in the seating area felt a bit warm, and the air conditioning could perhaps be adjusted for optimal comfort. That small point aside, our experience was flawless. We left feeling not just satisfied, but truly valued—a testament to a hotel that has perfectly preserved its magic. On a delightfully unexpected note, our cappuccino even had a special guest appearance! By sheer accident, we managed to capture Sri Lankan cricket star Kusal Mendis photobombing our coffee shot. We certainly have no complaints—it’s not every day your morning brew gets a celebrity endorsement.😂

Sanjeewa was extremely helpful and friendly — he guided us in choosing a great cake, and we went with the Blueberry Mousse Cake, which was absolutely delicious. Really appreciate the excellent service and tasty food — we’ll definitely be coming back!

Update! They have bubble tea now🧋 A very good place to taste coffee and have a chat with your friends and family. Bakery items are fresh and tasty. Customer service is excellent. Absolutely loved the Delifrance at ODEL! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, it really makes a difference. If you’re a croissant fan, this is the place. Their almond croissant is perfection, melts in the mouth and they somehow manage to make everything better with croissants. Also tried their egg mayo sandwich on baguette bread, delicious and filling, especially when paired with their combo of tea or coffee and a muffin. Although it’s located in a mall setting, it wasn’t too crowded when we visited, so it was surprisingly relaxed. Great for a quick, tasty bite and excellent service. Highly recommend! 👌✨

2023: I stopped in today for a Coffee and decided to order a Cappuccino and it was great. They still don’t have any pastries like they used to have when they were located inside Odel. Staff were friendly and nice. Their Cap Art was cool, not that it matters. 2022: I used to love Delifrance when it was located inside Odel and they had lots European food. I have not been to Sri Lanka for the past three years due to Covid, so I was surprised to see they have their own location just outside the Odel. It made me happy to see this but unfortunately, after going inside I found they no longer have the Cinnamon rolls and other European food. The only thing I saw was pretty much the same Sri Lankan short eats the Fab and P&S serve. They should rename the place DeliLanka. We ordered a iced coffee and iced latte and they were good. We also ordered some mutton rolls and those were good as well but the fish roll we ordered was so bad I couldn’t take more than two bites of it because it was so fishy tasting. I won’t be going there again since the Sri Lankan short eats at fab are much better than this. Bring back the original Delifrance! The staff are friendly and nice, no issues with them.
