I booked my tickets online, and everything went really smoothly. Collecting the tickets was fast and easy. The snack bar had lots of food choices, and everything was tasty and worth the price. The cinema was very clean, both inside and outside, which made the visit even better. The movie sound and picture quality were amazing, just like you expect from Scope Cinemas. The staff were very friendly and professional, always ready to help with a smile. The washrooms were also super clean when we came in and when we left. Overall, it was a great experience. We will definitely come again!

A fantastic movie theater in Colpetty! The ticket booking process is smooth and hassle-free. Beverages and snacks are available at the counter, and the seats are clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned for a pleasant experience. The theater offers Digital 3D and Digital 2D screenings with excellent 7.1 and 5.1 sound systems. The screen is large, vivid, and bright, with clear and immersive sound. Highly recommended!

Extremely crowded with no space to stand before the movie. No proper waiting area, and it was impossible to even find the food and beverage line—people were packed shoulder to shoulder in front of the counter. Facilities are poor compared to other Scope Cinemas, and even the washrooms lacked handwash. For the price charged, this is not acceptable.

Liberty by Scope Cinemas is a great place for a relaxed movie experience in Colombo. It’s less crowded than most major cinema halls, making it a calm and comfortable option. The screen and sound quality are good, and the seating is decent, especially in the smaller screen. Just be aware that movies may start after a bit of a long ad break.

This is to express my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Senior Manager Akalanka and team. My mother who has restricted mobility wanted to watch the movie “Rhythm of the guitar- Clarence”. Knowing how much she likes music of that era, I called and checked with Scope at Liberty and they advised me on which hall would be easily accessible and the times. We opted for the 3.30pm screening and when we arrived, despite bringing along help , getting my mother out of the car and the wheelchair into the premises had its challenges. We didn’t even have time to ask for help when Akalanka , whom I later found was a Senior Manager rushed to our help, assisted in getting mum safely into the wheelchair and even helped push the wheelchair in. I cannot thank him enough for the assistance he gave us, specially in putting my mother at ease. He assisted me in picking out the most suitable seats, he and team helped get my mother in to the hall and even stored the wheelchair. Once the movie ended they rushed to our assistance and helped us in the same manner to get my mother back into the vehicle. My mother is in generally fair health apart from an issue with her ankles which she developed about 2 years ago and has been using a wheelchair since. In these few years of getting about with her, I have never encountered at even the five star hotels ,a more courteous, considerate and most importantly kind team like the team at Scope Liberty. We simply cannot thank you enough for what you did for us yesterday. Thank you so much Senior Manager Akalanka and team. I hope this review reaches the top management and the efforts of this team are duly appreciated. Thank you once again.

Update 2025: Considered the new movie theatres in play in Colombo, this place can still give a run for it's money. Screen 01 downstairs is 3D whereas screen 02 upstairs is 2D. All has good seating, good sounds and viewing experience is great considering this is the cheapest option you have in Colombo. There is a paid parking at the back of the theater so it is also not an issue. Overall highly recommended. Pro tip: Don't waste your money on Popcorn, Rs 1100 for 100g of popcorn is a total ripoff. Review 2019: A good 3D theater to enjoy a movie with your loved ones. Seating arrangement is ideal and seats are comfortable and adjustable. Staff is also friendly. Food outlet at the entrance is bit overpriced but you can bring food and beverages from outside without any issues.

The service is Not as great as other scope cinemas. I wanted to order some hotdogs and drinks during the interval , then I was told that the movie would finish by the time I get the order and I was discouraged. Had to starve until the movie finished which took more than an hour . The surrounding is Not so clean as well.

This is my first time here. And I have watched Retro with my friends. The atmosphere is good with cheers, paper showers & all though the movie was average. Screen is big. Seats are normal don't slide or anything. Sounds are okayish with more on the treble side with less bass.

Savoy Theater offers a great movie experience with impressive sound quality that enhances every scene. The visuals are clear, making it an enjoyable watch. Recently watched Superman. The screen needs alot of renovation. There are stain-like spots all over the screen, which you can clearly see on brighter frames. The screen is also dark, even though I was watching Superman 2025, it felt like Man of steel 2013. Hope this would be a constructive review for the place

Most important thing to mention - car park is too small.only 5-6 vehicles can accomadate.have to think twice if you are planning to go by own vehicle specially during crowded showtimes. Theater experience was not bad.sounds seems good.

Watched THUGLIFE on day one in balcony. This theater desperately needs a full renovation. The seats were old, broken, and painfully uncomfortable—my back still hurts. The sound system was equally awful, echoing like a broken headphone throughout the film. The air conditioning was uneven, leaving some areas freezing while others were stuffy. Since there was only 50% occupancy we switched to free seats after interval. Worst of all, the ticket price was far too high for such poor quality. Definitely not worth it.

Regal Cinema may never have been the best in terms of seating or overall experience, but it holds a special place in my heart. This old-fashioned cinema, with its British-era touch, is an iconic landmark in Colombo. While it lacks the sophistication of modern cinemas in shopping malls, the memories I have of this place are irreplaceable. Unfortunately, Regal Cinema is temporarily closed now. I hope they renew it, carry out the necessary repairs, and bring it back with a more comfortable cinema experience. Despite its flaws, Regal Cinema remains an integral part of Colombo's cultural heritage.

The cinema is an old theater converted to a cinema. They've done a pretty good job of renovating the place. The air conditioning, picture quality, audio quality, and cleanliness are all quite good. The cinema is more than adequate for the local films that it mainly screens. The cinema really sets itself apart through the successful preservation of the history and architecture of the old play theater it used to be.

An old theater has been changed into a cinema hall gives a unique experience which cannot compare with any other cinema. A full size hall can be hold more than 300 viewers is fully air conditioned. it has ample car parking right next to the cinema. So no need to worry about vehicle. The only drawback of this cinema is it is not a 3d Cinema

This is an old fashioned cinema which has a British era touch. Not as sophisticated as new cinemas we see in the shopping malls. An iconic place in Colombo. Parking is some what limited. It is clean and cosy inside. A good place to watch a movie in a relaxed manner. Some movies are not so entertaining. Most families choose the last show.

Not a very good cinema hall. Seats are old and not comfortable. The screen is stained and the video quality is very poor. But tickets are high. Not recommended. Foods was ok but the most downfall is the parking charges at basement. They charged 450 for a car for the duration of a tamil movie. Not recommended if anyone is looking for watch movies

The place is still the same as early 2000's. Clean environment. Need air conditioning. There are escalators going up but not going down. Food court needs more caring. Place is good if your buying electronics and shoes. You got paid parking. Go early in the day when it's not that busy. Common area needs chairs so people could sit. Adding more food joints would bring in more people. Arcade is good, young and adults both can enjoy. Washrooms need more caring, they charge you 20 rupees. They should add more lights and bright up the place.

Majestic Cineplex, on the 5th floor of Majestic City, offers a good movie experience with comfortable seating. It's better to use the basement parking for convenience and security, rather than parking outside.

I used to enjoy visiting Majestic Cineplex, but sadly, my recent experience was highly disappointing. The overall cleanliness of the theatre was severely lacking. The chairs were visibly dirty and covered in dust, giving off an unpleasant rotten smell. And the quality of the movie screen is also terrible. It appeared old and neglected, with noticeable lines and signs of poor maintenance. The screen hasn't been properly cleaned or replaced in quite some time. The ticket prices may be cheaper compared to other cinemas, but the low cost doesn't justify the poor conditions. Also, it is less crowded, maybe because of the condition of the cinema theatre. I hope the management takes steps to improve the theatre's maintenance to provide viewers with a better experience.

Majestic Cineplex is located on the 5th floor of the old Majestic City. It's relatively easy to find parking in the basement, and for 3.5 hours, it costs around 350 Rs, which is quite reasonable. However, I would advise against street parking outside the mall, as it’s known to be run by local thugs who could cause trouble. The cinema has a canteen with a selection of food items, and while there are fewer options compared to places like OGF or CCC, the prices are much more affordable. For example, popcorn was around 350 Rs, which is a great value. We went to the Gold Hall, which had a relatively low seating capacity. However, the AC in the hall was set too high, and we ended up freezing throughout the movie. The seats were a bit old, and there was an unpleasant odor in the hall. Additionally, there were no cup holders in the seats, which was inconvenient. On a positive note, the screen quality was good, and the sound quality was decent. The ticket for the 2D movie ODC was around 1000 Rs, which is fairly standard for the area. Overall, while Majestic Cineplex offers a reasonable movie-going experience in terms of ticket prices and food options, the comfort and maintenance of the halls could definitely be improved. Still, the parking and affordable food make it a decent option for a movie night out, just be cautious with street parking outside.

Sadly lacks basic facilities such as proper reclining seats for one. The whole place looks very poorly maintained. The toilets are absolutely unacceptable. Out of the four ladies toilets, two were blocked off with a pair of old shoes stuck on to the lock. The one I was forced to use, had no lock and I had a tough task ensuring the door was closed whole I used the toilet. I don't know the state of the fourth toilet as I was out of there in double quick time. Shame on the management. Especially when there are so many other cinema complexes in the city that are of a much higher standard. My recommendation is not to use this facility unless you just have to due to the movie not being available at any other cinema.

Majestic City Cineplex ⭐️⭐️ The experience was disappointing. The screen is small, which takes away from the overall movie experience. Maintenance definitely needs to improve, as the seating and facilities feel outdated. The service was below average and could be more efficient. Not worth it unless there are no other options nearby.

Never going to this place ever again. We went to watch Amaran movie night show and during the climax because of the rain their ceiling broke off. (Watch the video attached) I can hardly recommend this place, for the same ticket price you can get a better place to watch the movie. Only good thing is the screen and the sound quality. Really really good. Seats are bad, not comfortable. Dirty washroom as well.

Facilities provided by the Theater is not worth for the price that you pay. Normally the ticket price is around 500-600 RS; this could also increase when there is a big film release. The washroom facility is also not up to the standard at sometime. They do have parking facility at the back and charge 50 RS for that. But, this theater screens most of the good films that get released. But, I would say there are plenty other good theaters for better price and facility within the Colombo city.

One of the cheapest and one of the legendary theatres out there. It has 3 theatres in the complex. The theatre looks ok. The sound quality is bad and may need maintinence. The movies I watched are kind of late so there is not much of a crowd. They have a car park behind. But not sure how to go there. If you wish to watch a movie in one of those old day theatres this is a good place.

They got multiple theaters here and once go to place for tamil movies. But due to less maintenance they have ruined the customers experience. Still sound quality ie very good compared to some local theaters. For the ticket price, theater seating quality is law. Washroom hygiene is very very law due less maintenance and law quality people. For these ppl ticket price you can have better experience at Dematagoda Regal, or CCC or Liberty Scope for just another 100 extra payment.

Empire gold is a great cinema. You have to book your tickets at least before two days. They don’t have a wash room. Seating is luxurious.

Seats are comfortable to sit and watch. You can feel the ac well. Sometimes it might be a bit too cold. There's enough room to stretch your legs as well. Overall it's a very good experience. Will recommend anyone to watch a movie at this cinema. It's worth it. Tickets are bit more expensive compared with remaining theaters

The seats are comfortable, but they aren't maintaining it as good as they used to. 3D is a bit off. And take a few blankets if you're planning to sit in the first 2 rows. It feels like the arctic a shirt way into the movie.

Not showing the movies listed online. Only showing two movies at a time. I came clear from Malabe to make a showtime posted online. The least they could do is show what they have advertised.

Large comfortable seats and a reasonably sized screen for the theater. The sound system is very well set up due to the hall being so small. I would recommend taking a blanket as the place can get extremely cold.

Great place to watch a movie with comfortable seating. Recommend the Gold Cinema as the seats are leather and fully recline. It also has it's own menu which they will happily serve to your seat. As you would understand ticket prices for Gold are a little higher than other locations. On the negative they have archaic ticketing practices that only allow you to buy tickets on the day but with new partnerships that might change in the future.

Good place to enjoy evening with family and friends have lot of activities. Games. Bambing balloon to kids to enjoy. Food cote and big parking lot good security giving by the place. No need to very about any thing just enjoying the moment without any worries. Recommended

Excel world was excellent 👌👍. For adults and kids. The kids enjoyed all the playing area outside and the snow world was a great experience for both adults and kids. Bowling, gaming and restaurant area was really good. Clean, near and very well maintained restaurants. Nice collection of items in the food menue and nicely served in hot fresh condition. And it's worth the price. The range of kids meals were good as it gives a good quality and quantity for little ones. Rice and beverages were nicely presented. We spent almost spend a whole day out at the entertainment park with kids. Great place to enjoy with family, friends and with young couples. There's a great range if entertaining activities for adults and young adults as well. The snow world was entirely a great experience not forgetting the great DJ , it was awesome and fantastic for all age groups. And the cost for each activities are reasonable and there's enough park. But we visited the peak hours and almost ran out of parking even though there was a huge area to park. I would recommend it as a good day out to enjoy with love ones once in a while.

The shooting range was really good and the guy there was nice and very helpful, which made it a fun experience. But honestly, the rest of Excel World feels outdated — it looks almost the same as it did 4 years ago. The bowling alley is the only thing worth the hype, still fun and enjoyable. Overall, the place really needs a bit of freshening up to bring it back to life.

They’ve got a number indoor and outdoor games for all ages but not at all managed and maintained well. The kids adventure area had only a few rides with poor lighting. Snow world was a huge scam, the price was high, we couldn’t really enjoy well as they’d jammed a huge crowd at a time and it wasn’t snow, huge ice cubes which really would hurt everyone. One good thing I was fascinated about was the food and drink options, there were plenty of stalls in and around the park. Wouldn’t be going again.

Excel world is a blast from the past. They have done the dining area up nicely but the arcade is a hall of relics, half of which are broken down. Still I like the laid back pace of things there, it’s not as flashy and overstimulating as new places. The bowling alley has an old section where half the lanes are closed, and the new side has digital screens and is more modern. They have added a shooting range and archery area too but they are very makeshift, tiny spaces. Overall the place could do with an upgrade, it’s so old and tired. Appreciate that the prices are moderate and not as inflated as most other places.

Being able to stroll to such a great movie theatre makes me very pleased. However, they also have enough parking. The movie theatre is of excellent quality and has the capacity to draw crowds. I'm looking forward to my next cinematic experience there.

best possible sound quality. Long parking area available for free. comfortable-looking space. Balcony and cool box space. The sheets are generally comfortable and in decent condition. The lobby, restrooms, and entrance are all immaculate. Not very crowded or hectic, and ideal for romantic moments. There is a canteen inside. Nothing against outside food. Great place to take the family with children. Utern is across from the hall, making it convenient to drive in and out.

Went there to watch the first 3D film of Sri Lanka - "Gajaman" on the very first day. (The movie was next level though) Average movie screen and Sound Quality. Seats were little tough but okay. Air conditioning was also average. However the 3D experience was good. You can buy your tickets at the entrance without any trouble but I recommend to buy online & reserve your seats early. Ticket prices are reasonable. Cafeteria is at the entrance but they charge almost double. Please do remember to put your empty plastic bottles & other unwanted things as food packagings & papers to the dustbin. Do not leave another to clean your mess.

The sound quality was excellent, seats are comfortable. You can buy snacks, and beverages from their canteen. Llargest parking space is available at your own risk. clean washroom facilities are available. there is ODC and Balcony view as well. The ticket prices are more reasonable than Savoy Atmos. The screen Picture quality is good. overall my experience here is GOOD. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I recently visited Samantha Cinema Hall on November 12th, and unfortunately, our experience was far from enjoyable. About 30 minutes into the movie in Balcony Box C, a stranger entered Balcony Box D, which is next to ours, and began watching us. What made the situation even worse was that this was not a one-time incident. According to the ticket seller, the same person had done this 3 to 4 times before. It seemed like the ticket staff was aware of his behavior and may have even helped him get in. They did not take any responsibility for the situation, which left us feeling uncomfortable and unsafe. I would strongly advise that if there are only a few people watching a movie, it’s better to leave the cinema. Otherwise, situations like this can occur, and you never know what might happen.

Theatre's condition is worst. No AC at all. Air conditioning is worst. Lots of mosquitoes. Seats not comfortable at all. Theater is covered with smoke smell. Not clean and will never recommend to another.

I went to the Regal at 6.50 to watch the Kingston movie at 7.30 but no one was at the ticket counter. Then I went there again at 7.15. A staff member came at 7.25 and said that the film cannot be shown unless there are ten people and he left. By then there were still seven people watching the film. Then another staff member came at around 7.35 when we asked him about the film he spoke to us in a very rude manner and did not care about us. If ten people were required to watch the film, they should have told us in advance.. We should have gone to another film hall and watched it. Our time and money were wasted. This is not the first time this has happened and I will not recommend this hall to anyone again. Sorry to say that, I never come again at the regal ever 🙂
