We visited this restaurant after reading many good reviews on Google. We ordered crab soup, grilled seer fish, and a dish of devilled crabs, which came with French fries and boiled veggies. We specifically asked them to prepare the crab dish with a fresh jumbo crab, but what we received was a very old crab, and we ended up paying 19k just for the bones. There was barely anything to eat in the crab dish. While the soup was good, overall we are very dissatisfied with the service, especially considering the high price. We would not recommend this place to anyone.

Ordered seafood tempura,thai seafood fried rice and exclusive lunch platter. Quantity was more than sufficient,hot served but a little delay in serving.

All their food was amazingly delicious. The servers greeted us and even served us by pouring the food to each of our plates and poured us water. So everything was perfect until something happened 😂😅 after we finished the dinner and paid for the meals, the server was checking the book receipt in front of us and showed us disappointment look, he was closing the book receipt with a rough gesture and cleaning our table (again) while we’re still sitting there. It’s because we didn’t put any tip for them. It was our last night in Colombo, and we didn't have a lot of spare cash with us. It’s fine to hope to have a tip but never expect or even force it, we saw there was a service charge, so basically we have no obligation to give a tip.

Disgraceful treatment at Sea Fish! We visited Sea Fish in Colombo with a group of friends, looking forward to a good meal after having a drink at another restaurant nearby. Instead, we were treated with shocking disrespect by the staff. And the manager was even worst! As soon as we arrived, we were told we couldn’t bring bottles after 8pm—despite the fact that we claimed that we will leave by the time being after having dinner and so. It felt like they were simply looking for an excuse to turn us away. The way the staff approached and spoke to us was dismissive, unprofessional, and completely lacking in basic hospitality. No effort was made to welcome us or even clarify the situation respectfully. Their attitude ruined the mood of our evening. We expected a proper response from the manager but he sounded with single words and it’s harsh. Being a customer for so long and Sea Fish may have a reputation for food, but with this kind of treatment, it’s not worth it. If you’re looking for a place that values its customers, this is not the one. Absolutely disappointed. Totally unacceptable to get treated like this! Shame on the entire community

Visited with my friends for dinner. Everything was kinda OK. The food was great and the staff was very professional. One mistake from their side, I ordered a cocktail, blue lagoon, and specifically said 50% less sugar. But that was not taken seriously, and I was given the full dosage. That somewhat ruined an otherwise a great dinner experience.

Executive lunch was tasty. Worth the price. Good service. Decent place to dine if you are in or around Colombo Fort. Went for Dinner on 28/12/22. It took more than one hour for them to serve the order. Food taste was average. It is very sad to see the service levels and quality of food is declining, at sea food restaurant -where we use to have lots of fond memories. Still I will go there for lunch.

We had dinner at Ministry of Crab last night as a couple with our 10-year-old, and it was a fantastic experience overall! The atmosphere was vibrant yet cozy — perfect for a family evening out. We tried the clay pot prawn curry with rice, and it was absolutely delicious. The prawns were fresh and perfectly cooked, but the real star was the rich, coconut-based gravy — bursting with flavor! We also had passion fruit juice, which was refreshing, though a bit on the sour side for our taste. Overall, a memorable dining experience with great food, friendly service, and a lovely ambiance. This amazing restaurant lived up to all the hype. From when you arrive you are treated with a first class experience. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable, and know the menu off by heart. The food is sensational. The prawns and crabs are delicious. My tip, don’t go for the heavily spiced or strongly flavoured sauces, and let the crab do the talking! Sitting in a 400 yo building, surrounded by history and eating top quality food is well worth the pricing! Enjoy!

We had such a wonderful dining experience at the Ministry of Crab! Before going, we were a little bit skeptical and worried it might just be another tourist trap, but we were pleasantly surprised. We tried only two dishes, the claypot curry and the chili garlic crab, but they were absolutely addictive. The sauces were so good that we couldn’t resist overindulging, especially with all the bread. In short, we really enjoyed our dinner and definitely worth a try when you are in town!

What a great dining experience at the Ministry of Crab. On arrival service and welcome by Dilanka was warm and welcoming. He explained the menu and guided us through our choices and sizes. The prompt ongoing service for drinks and wipes and extra touches to make our meal memorable were attended to. The entrees of prawns, clams, oysters were each amazing in presentation and flavour. We had three varieties of crab for our main as a group and each were different and delicious. The fleshy crabs were the best I have ever eaten and the body of flavour in the sauces were rich and delicious. The Sri Lankan bread and rice helped us enjoy the sauces and flavours. It was a beautiful meal experience. We rounded off with perfect macchiato coffees. If your budget can stretch this far, I highly recommend a meal here. Just remember to book as our lunch sitting was fully booked out.

From the road Beach Wadiya looks run down, but cross the train tracks, and you a get warm and friendly welcome from the staff. We just wanted to grab a sunbed and have a few drinks, beers were cold, lime juice fresh and sweet and the view is to die for. We didn't eat this time but the food that came out from the kitchen looked and smelt lovely and no one was complaining. The beach was clean and tidy which was a bonus.

Had dinner at Beach Wadiya, Colombo and loved it. Tried the oysters, devilled fish, and grilled prawns — all super fresh and full of flavor. Cool vibes and awesome beach views. Definitely worth checking out if you are into seafood.

I had seafood soup and fish fillet with mashed potato. Both dishes tasty, but extremely small portions. I got oysters and I didn't like them. Too bittersih. It's laid back atmosphere. But they could clean their part from garbage. Looks filthy. The waiter should gain more language skills. It is pricey the quality of the service. Do not recommend.

It was a delicious seafood dinner of dishes cooked simply, keeping the original flavour of the dishes intact (instead of piling it with a lot of sauces and oils!. We had the Prawn Soup, 2 portions of Oysters with lime and a dash of hot sauce (yum!), 1kg grilled whole fish (from the day’s fresh catch), and a salad as an accompaniment.👏👏 Service and cleanliness was very good. However they need to work on ambient lighting, do something about the cats who try to climb on chairs (!!), and maybe add some light music to enhance the mood. 🙂

Such a disappointment. We went over for dinner. The wait was so long! Over an hour. The food was absolutely awful! So salty! You can’t eat anything! Every single dish was salty. Even after complaining that the food was not good, there was no manager to be seen. When asked the waiter for the manager he said he’s only there during afternoons. Then asked the cashier who claimed to be the manager. They re-served the fried rice, a prawn dish and kangkung which was comparatively less salty yet not up to restaurant standards and was still so bad. When the second set of prawns came in, they weren’t cleaned. Disgusting! Wouldn’t recommend to anyone who has tastebuds.

One of the best in Colombo for seafood. Staff a little absent minded but the food makes up for it. Tried they local Sri Lankan red curry ...its fire on ur tongue. Be very careful if u order it . It's tasty but it's super spicy and may spoil ur apetitite. The fried prawns and the squids are a regular to suit any palette. Convinient access and egress and easy to find restaurant on the main road, big seating area. In short its worth the penny.

The food here was not great, but ok. There were 11 of us and we ordered a good variety of food. The noodles dish was a big disappointment as the portion was very small. The ice coffee we got was more of a milkshake. We also got sushi, salmon, and katsudon dishes which were ok. The parking here is non-existent, with the nearby cargills and byroads being the only options available. Biggest disappointment was the amount of time it took for them to serve us food. We had to wait close to one and a half hours for the food to arrive at the table.

Lovely Seafood joint in Park road. Nice restaurant for lunch and dinner. Sri Lankan food is highly recommended with black pepper fish curry. There is a Japanese food corner too. Food and the chef in Jap food corner both very nice. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very nice. There is a bar with good selection of wines and hard liquor. The Lagoon at Cinnamon Grand is hands down one of the best places in Colombo for seafood lovers. The selection of fresh seafood on display is simply outstanding, and you get to choose exactly what you want and how you want it prepared. The baked crab was absolutely amazing, bursting with flavor, and the oysters with cheese were nothing short of heavenly. Almost everything is priced per 100 grams, so it can be a little on the pricey side, but for the quality, taste, and overall experience, it’s worth indulging in once in a while. A must-visit if you’re craving top-notch seafood in the city!

The Lagoon is a wonderful experience! It’s expensive but worth treating yourself at least once. The food is fresh and flavorful and I love that you can choose your protein before it is prepared. You can also choose how it is prepared (i.e.: grilled, steamed, fried etc) and you can choose the sauce it’s prepared in. The staff is so friendly and helpful and they are great about giving suggestions. The sides are all delicious as are the drinks - you cannot go wrong no matter what you choose. I wish I knew everyone’s names because they are all so friendly but our last waiter was Priyanga and he was a lot of fun! Truly a 5 star experience!

This is the best place for Seafood 🍤 in Sri Lanka . Love the Tamarind Cuttle fish , the Fish Roe and the Handella fish and the fish and chips. . The Red curry Modha and Chili Garlic prawn was very flavorful. The garlic rice was not very good but we sent it back and they re did it . It is always better to make a reservation and come . I came to The Lagoon as a group , collectively we ordered sautéed scallops , crab claws , sesame prawns , white curry with fish, thick coconut gravy with cuttlefish , fenugreek curry with prawns , fried rice , fried noodles , wok fried veg, Thai omlette and roast paan. The scallops and curries were all delicious along with the fried rice . The roast paan was rock solid and the crab claws and sesame prawns are okay. The cocktails I tried were nice but they did get the order wrong . Also when receiving the bill, they had accidentally added another tables order into our bill which we then rectified.

You can select your fish from display or pick from the menu it’s fresh and well prepared. The place is family friendly and atmosphere is very elegant and charming with spacious seating areas. I had the pleasure of dining here while in town for a JW Special Convention, and it was such a great experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff was attentive from start to finish. The food was freshly made—you even select your own fish and choose how you’d like it prepared. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted even better than it looked. Drinks were perfectly balanced, and everyone in our group left completely satisfied. Highly recommend!

The modern aesthetics and the frozen seafood displayed within a cubicle are certainly the star of the restaurant. There is a solid variety of dishes, including beverages to choose from, but the prices are not entirely worth some of the dishes served. It is disappointing to mention that the fish was slightly overcooked as well as the squid. The quantity could be a bit more, but I suppose it's more about the experience than the food itself. However, the other dishes were flavourful and well presented. The customer service wasn't too bad apart from being clumsy twice they are more than happy to assist you. Overall, it was a classy dining experience with good seafood to savour.

Best seafood restaurant in Colombo and surely one of the best I’ve been. Delicious seafood that you choose on the counter and ask to be prepared as you wish. Staff extremely helpful on suggesting different recipes. I couldn’t recommend more. No need to be hosted in the hotel, which is also very cozy. Very reasonable prices.

Ocean Seafood Restaurant at the Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo is a wonderful spot to enjoy a relaxed and elegant dining experience. The spacious and cozy setting makes it perfect for a quiet meal or a good conversation with friends. The interior design is tasteful and gives the place a high-end feel, while the surrounding view adds to the pleasant atmosphere. I’ve visited twice, and on both occasions, it wasn’t crowded, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The food is served promptly and tastes great. The hot butter mushroom dish and the strawberry mojito, in particular, stood out – both were absolutely delicious. The service is excellent, with plenty of staff available at all times. They are attentive and quick to respond to any request, making you feel well taken care of throughout your visit.

On August 1, we (a party of 2), arrived at the restaurant at 8:45pm and were swiftly moved to a nice table overlooking the pool. The presiding manager (whose name I forgot) guided me in selecting fresh fish, accompaniments, and style of preparation. When the food arrived, it looked very enticing and the waiter served us the rice, vegetables, and fish to get us started. What an amazing preparation, it was delicious from the first to the last bite, finishing off with amazing desserts. Kudos to the manager, waiting staff, attending staff, and not forgetting the chefs, we walked away fully satisfied knowing we wish to be back for more.

I really enjoyed the food — everything tasted super fresh and had a great crispness to it. Just a heads up though: you’ll want to dig in while it’s hot, because the crispiness doesn’t hang around for long. We visited on a pretty warm day, and while the atmosphere was nice enough, it would’ve been even better with a bit more air conditioning. Overall, still a good experience and I’d definitely come back.

I come here atleast thrice a year and been coming here ever since they opened, always go for the fish n garlic herb rice with tartar sauce. The sizzling brownie is also an elite dessert. Never disappoints

The Manhattan Fish Market is located in the land side of the Galle Road, a few kilometers shy of the Colpetty junction. Food is tasty and there are good sea food options. Kids have a separate menu. We got a platter with batter fried calamari, chicken and rice, with drinks. One platter was enough for the two of us, but then we don't eat much! The restaurant is designed with a semi-open kitchen concept. Upstairs has a kids' play area with a trampoline, ball pit, slide and a mock mountain climbing area. Seating is available upstairs and downstairs both, and a mezzanine floor area with space for a private party. Good service. Stewards are attentive and efficient. Parking available at the front for a few vehicles. Roadside parking is also available.

This was my first visit to this place and it was nice. We ordered fish and chips for dinner (even though it wasn't in the menu they said they can make it), and watermelon juice and ginger beer as drinks. We had to wait a little while to get our food as they informed us that the deep fryer had broken. Anyhow, we had a pleasant stay and the atmosphere was quite good.. The food was tasty, especially the sweet potato fries. The fish was so tender. For all this it cost around lka 6000 plus. Will visit again to try other dishes.

A restaurant dedicated to providing seafood based starters, meals and snacks, yet they also have a selection of vegetarian and chicken options to choose from. A restaurant with a pleasant ambience. We were impressed by the reasonable prices for the commendable quality of meals. The sweet potato fries and passion fruit lemonade available here are a must try! They also had a variety of desserts from milk toffee, cheese cake, curd and treacle to mention a few. The cherry on the top is the friendly and timely service of the staff. I would no doubt recommend the place to my family and friends.

I especially love the Thai red curry and the Jaffna-style prawn dish (if I recall correctly) – pair them with the garlic rice and roast paan, respectively, and it’s pure perfection. While the service charge is understandable, the addition of a heavy tax on the bill is a bit off-putting. It’s not common practice for all restaurants to charge taxes separately, and this feels like an unnecessary burden on the customers. Nice, cosy place.Although we went to see the match, audio was not available. Drinks are reasonably priced. Yet food was nothing but ordinary. The portion is covered by over fried French fries. They have good deals for drinks.

Went in at happy hour. There was no prior information given to us about "government taxes" which was added to the bill to our surprise They added 10% service tax + 24% government taxes which we had no idea about. Upon enquiring,no one was able to show us any official/ government notice where it is mentioned that 24% government tax is mandatory. Very disappointed with the entire experience. Made us feel deceived. Would recommend to check with them about taxes prior to placing orders.

It a small cosy pub & has a old bar feeling. The best part here is the music, there's always some or the other live band playing & they are all so good. The cocktails were a bit of a disappointment but I liked the 'make your own drink' concept. The food's a little expensive here but it tastes fine.

Had a good time. Has a good view of the sea and a chill vibe with soft music on the day i went there. The food was not bad - The seafood chopsuey didn’t have enough salt. The chicken + cashews were good though! Great service from the staff.

I have never had the same experience at any other restaurant as I did at the Station Restaurant. The service they provided was so poor. I was very disappointed.😑😑 The seafood they served us was so dry that it was inedible🦀. The french fries they gave us were so burnt that they were inedible. 🍟 When we asked the reason, they said it was the nature of this food.🙄🤷 Likewise, the chicken bite they gave us could not be used as a snack at all. It was better eaten with something like rice or bread. They charged us over 23,000 rupees for such poor food and service. However, after we argued with them, they reduced the bill to 15,000 rupees. I am very disappointed in your restaurant. It took hours to complete my order because your menu is not updated. You sent water-based potions in a paper box that leaked almost everything. Don’t you have the common sense to include a lunch sheet in your packaging? Additionally, I only received 10 pieces of cuttlefish for the large portion, which feels very cheap. If you want to be this cheap, perhaps you should reconsider being in business. Overall, I am really disappointed. Do not ever buy from this place

We had a great time at this place! We booked the upstairs dining area for a private function and it was super spacious. They let us decorate it however we wanted, which was awesome. The food was totally worth the price - everything tasted amazing. We could play our own music and weren't bothered at all. The staff downstairs were always on hand if we needed anything, and the manager was really helpful and checked in on us a lot. We stayed till 11:45 PM and they even offered to take down all our decorations afterwards. Highly recommended!

Avoid This Restaurant – A Complete Waste of Money Our visit to this restaurant was an extremely disappointing experience. I went with my family for dinner and we ordered the mixed grill, mixed seafood, and grilled chicken. Unfortunately, none of the dishes were worth the high prices they charged. The portion sizes were shockingly small. The grilled chicken looked more like a kids’ meal, yet we were charged full price. The mixed grill and seafood were even worse – the meat was burnt, and all we got were small, overcooked pieces served with basic French fries. I couldn’t believe they charged more than 13000 LKR for such poorly prepared food. The mixed seafood dish was bland and lacked even basic seasoning like salt. It was completely tasteless. When we raised our concerns with the staff, they didn’t take them seriously and showed no intention of making things right. It felt like they were used to receiving complaints and just didn’t care. To make matters worse, the washrooms were filthy and poorly maintained, with broken doors – absolutely unacceptable for any restaurant. Despite showing them the burnt food and expressing our dissatisfaction, we were still charged the full amount. There was no apology or effort to resolve the issue. I honestly don’t know how this place is still in business given the poor quality of food, lack of hygiene, and terrible customer service. Please do not waste your time or your hard-earned money here. Extremely disappointed – I will never recommend this place to anyone.

We recently visited this place and had a great time. I highly recommend it for group outings. The food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable. They also allow you to bring liquor from outside, which is a great plus.

The location is really good with the sea view. The staff was good where they served the ordered beverages and snacks without much delay. The main food items were pre-ordered as we had 20+ members joined for dinner. We went there together with our customers to have dinner as a team outing. We had a very unpleasant experience with the food we had where 80% of our team got really ill after a day. The symptoms were quite different but it included vomitting, diaria and fever. It was really tough and personally the worst experience I have ever had due to food. The doctors said it should be a bacterial infection due to food poisoning. We have complained about this to the relevant authorities via our company, and hope they would take needed actions over this. Surprisingly when checking the old reviews, we noticed two similar incidents happened, and the questions from our foreign customers were how such a place is operated with such past incidents.

The food was not tasty at all, very dry and disappointing. I’d rate the food 1/5. However, the atmosphere makes up for it with a solid 4/5. I recommend going after 5 PM because earlier in the day it gets really hot and can feel uncomfortable. On a positive note, Firebeach is one of the best places to watch the sunset. Worth visiting for the vibe, not the food!

I visited Fire Beach at Galle Face Hotel with my family for the very first time and it was such a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was very nice. The service was excellent, and a special thanks goes to Chef Asanka, who made our time extra enjoyable with his kind recommendations. The view was absolutely breathtaking, and since it was my first visit,i was really impressed. It was definitely worth the money, and i am looking forward to coming again!..I highly recomended this place..

We stopped by here for lunch which was delicious. I had the fish and chips, mainly as I had eaten so much curry I needed to eat something else. The batter was crispy and super tasty! The atmosphere was lovely. Overall a great spot for lunch and a drink, before walking along Galle Face Green.

Lovely beach bar located on Marine Drive inside Galle Face Hotel. The location is beautiful with the perfect sunset view. They also have a pool and pretty gazebos. The price is on the higher end. They serve good cocktails.

One of the best places in wellawaththa to try some authentic tamil foods with affordable prices. I visited the place two times just to try their mutton curry and mutton babath curry which were amazing. Do try those two dishes with some puttu and paratha and trust me you will come back for another day! "Dont mistake this place with the yarl hotel which is infront of the main road. This is actually called yarl eat house and its located on the right side in the railway station road. ( With a red color board outside with the name) Do try this place!

Great place for a puttu feed with crab curry. Their chicken and mutton curries are also pretty good. The waiters are polite and friendly. Just know that this is a typical saivar kade equivalent of a place selling non-veg meals. Prices are great too. It's not a big place, and probably can accommodate about 25 people. If you are a group larger than 4 best to make a reservation, because they do. There's one large table that could seat 8 that they usually hold for reservations.

This is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen. Food safety should always be the top priority, but what I received showed a clear lack of quality control. I couldn’t eat after seeing that and I definitely won’t be returning. I hope the management takes this seriously and improves their hygiene practices, because serving contaminated food is dangerous and puts customers at risk.
