Soul food restaurant
American restaurant
Box lunch supplier
Big Mama's Kitchen and Catering is a beloved Southern eatery known for its vibrant atmosphere and delicious soul food classics. Established in 2007 by Patricia "Big Mama" Barron and her daughters, the restaurant has become a staple in Omaha, Nebraska. The establishment prides itself on not only serving up mouthwatering dishes but also providing job opportunities for members of the community, including felons and those seeking employment skills.
Today I had the best experience at Big mama’s. Not only was it the experience of just walking into the establishment amazing, but the customer service from the lady that took my order made me feel right at home. I feel so bad I didn’t get her name because everyone that walked in she knew theirs. She went above and beyond knowing that I had a peanut allergy, she made a special pan fried of catfish for me. That alone made me feel very special. If you’re looking for a great home cooked southern meal this is the place to be thank you again for the warm welcoming. Will be back with my family.
Domo J — Google review
When you enter the space at Big Mama's, the vibe is both comforting and nostalgic, it's ready for the future while bringing along the goodness of the past. The food here is similar, bridging the old and new in flavorful new ways. I absolutely enjoyed the Southwestern Egg Rolls, they were piping hot, crispy and nicely spiced. I also really loved the the Red Beans and Rice which were flavorful and clearly made with love. Big Mama's honors the legacy of those before while giving so much to look forward to through innovative takes on comfort classics

Staff is super friendly & helpful. Kids had the chicken & fries, my sister In-Law had the chicken sandwich & I hade the 10pc wings. Everything taste great. My only complaint is the wings are so small. Wish the wings were either bigger or you got more. I have had the original seasoning & the spicy on the wings both times I have gone & both seasonings are so good.
Joyce B — Google review
Best catfish in Omaha. The house made hot sauce is some of the best I've ever had. The Mac and cheese is really good and the fried okra is great on its own or dipped in the hot sauce. The cornbread was super good as well. The service was spot on and the staff is friendly. Good atmosphere, very open space and lots of seating at the bar.
David ( — Google review
The fish was really good. The chicken was very very small pieces. The red beans and rice was not what I expected, it was very dry. The cornbread was a very very small piece and very dry even with butter. The place is really different to find to order. The fried green tomatoes was very very good. I would go back for them but nothing else. It cost me $43.00. For my wife and I. For that money I will probably go somewhere else.
Brad K — Google review
As a native southerner…YES. Chicken is moist, juicy and flavorful. Cornbread is soft and sweet—no crumbling! Cabbage and black eyed peas also amazing. And the mac and cheese is cheesy and delicious. It’s not as salted as I like, but that’s great for people who can’t have as much salt, and a salt shaker is all I needed to make this meal absolute perfection.
Renate G — Google review
We had heard good things about Big Mama's, and we were looking forward to an authentic soul food experience. It was a little tough to find due to the street-facing signage being a little tough to spot, but our GPS got us there. We were surprised about how new the building was, and while it was nice, it didn't seem very "down home". The polished concrete floors and metal surfaces made the dining area loud, as was the music. The food was okay, but it was pricey and there was nothing really special about it. Maybe we caught them on an off night?
Chris R — Google review
First time here and we loved it! Plenty of options for the pickiest or even most adventurous eaters. I stuck with a classic spicy chicken sandwich, and was pleasantly surprised by the po' boy style bread that was top notch! With an amazing side of potato salad I couldn't have asked for more. Great outdoor seating, plenty of indoor seating and a bar. Really nice place with some cool and fun history behind it; Definitely worth a visit!

Sandwich shop
American restaurant

Block 16 is a sandwich shop in Omaha that embraces a garden-to-table philosophy, offering casual lunches featuring gyros, burgers, and sides. The restaurant prides itself on serving farm-to-table street food using locally sourced ingredients and avoiding preservatives whenever possible. They also provide vegan-friendly options. Menu highlights include the Croque Garcon Burger, Duck Duck Goose Fries, and the Dragon Wrap. Additionally, Block 16 features a new daily special.
The food here is BOMB. I could tell I was in for a treat, when the line was out the door on a Thursday for lunch. The line moved pretty quickly and even though there were a lot of people, seats became available pretty quickly. The Duck Duck Goose Fries were out of this world and blew me away. This is hands down my favorite memory from Omaha and I tell all my friends to check this place out when they are in town. I loved it so much, I came back again to make sure it was the last thing I ate before heading home.
Frank — Google review
Delicious burgers, sandwiches, and fun fries!! You can really tell the effort put into fresh ingredients and finding a way to keep the daily specials interesting. Would definitely recommend the Block Burger for anyone looking for a good burger but there are plenty of great options if you’re looking for something new too.
Alec E — Google review
The food I had here was orgasmic. Life changing. Loved it, and will be dreaming about it until I get the chance to come back again. Tried the Bacon & Brie a la Emily sandwich, and it was amazing. Also did an order of the fried mushroom fries... Definitely worth the stop.
Franklin R — Google review
Had the Pulled Pork Roll, Poutine Burrito, and an order of fries. All 3 were great. We arrived a bit before open on a Saturday and were the first group in line. We ordered, picked out a table, and an employee came over and offered to set our friends crutches against the wall. Will happily go again the next time we're in town!
Ben P — Google review
Hard to find seating. Food is fresh. Sometimes takes a while, but my kids can sit through the wait. Parking is sometimes hard to find, depending on the day. Service could be a little friendlier. We have found they are when it’s less busy. We visit when we come to Omaha every other year or so. We usually try something different each time we go. And enjoy it.
Jill H — Google review
I don’t give many 5 star reviews but this one is well earned. I had their prime rib special tonight. It was the best tasting and most tender prime rib I have had in a long time. The baked potato with lobster and shrimp was excellent and the grilled veggies were amazing. The aju was very good. I never made it to the salad. Perhaps tomorrow. Well done Block 16. Great friendly staff. Definately a hole in the wall just like I like my restaurants. I will be back and bring all my friends.
Hal S — Google review
Absolutely delectable 10/10 for my meal it was the best roast beef type (oxtail) sandwich and that cheese pull was killer! (My whole reach!) My wife had the Sailor burger and she said it was a 6/10 it tasted good but was advertised to have beef tallow so it should have been a moist burger but she said it was a dry burger. Water was available to drink while waiting and the service was about as good as a burger joint can get. The poutine also had a very few cheese curds and so much gravy that the fries were swimming in it which is why I overall gave the meal between us two four stars.
Crum M — Google review
This was a unique find for my wife and I as we traveled through Omaha. We didn't want to eat at your everyday restaurant. So very glad we stopped in. The food is amazing. I had Omaha fries and the wife had duck duck fries. Her fries did indeed have duck. My fries had ground wagyu beef. They were both full of fantastic flavor. The service was great and so was the price. I can only imagine what the rest of their food might taste like. I highly recommend stopping in. You will not be disappointed!

Time Out Foods is a long-standing, family-owned fast-food restaurant in Omaha that has been serving up delicious fried chicken, burgers, and BBQ sandwiches for over 50 years. Located in North Omaha, this popular spot draws crowds of people eager to taste their famous fried chicken and homestyle sides like homemade potato salad with a hint of mustard, creamy coleslaw, French fries, and baked beans made from an old family recipe.
Always wanted to give this place a try. I was not disappointed. Impressive taste for fried chicken. The menu could use some work, as I would have liked a side with the chicken and a roll. Other than that, all good.

Great service, lady was super friendly at register. Guy was super rude yelling at my brother for sitting on table, he has a fake leg it was hurting him. He didn't mean any harm. The booths were all tore up no where to sit while u waited for the food. Could have been nicer about it. Food was very good. Chicken was amazing!

Fried chicken takeaway
Bar
Dirty Birds is a popular spot known for its take on classic Southern fried chicken. The signature sandwich, also called the Dirty Bird, features crispy chicken spilling out of a brioche roll with applewood-smoked bacon, sriracha buffalo sauce, and blue cheese sauce for a perfect balance of heat and creaminess. The restaurant has quickly gained recognition in Omaha for its unique approach to fried chicken, which involves brining the chicken before breading it to create a distinct flavor.
The pancakes were so darn good! My new favorite menu item. The chicken was also quite good, great flavor and cook. My husband got the biscuits and gravy and they also did not disappoint. The flavor of everything was great. The atmosphere of the place was really unique, loved the artwork. We got there a few minutes after opening on a Saturday and we were able to get parking right outside and I will say shortly after we got there the crowds started coming in. It might be a bit difficult to find seating during peak times but well worth it in my mind. The staff was also quite friendly and very open to helping you pick the best option for hunger levels.
Alexandra V — Google review
First time visiting Omaha and only my second time to Nebraska. First time eating at Dirty Birds. In fact, a large % of those I asked if they had eaten here before...it was their first time also. I ordered blue corn hush puppies 😱 ... who knew these even existed!!! I also ordered the OG chicken sandwich, ready to hold them accountable for daring to assign an menu item this lofty titled name....Oh, the audacity 😂 Completely friendly family-like welcoming service, from placing my order, to their delivered to my table service, with an even added unexpected owner visit to ask me 'how I liked my hushpuppies'. The atmosphere of this being an enjoined street corner with sunny windows everywhere location with picnic table-like seating where you meet others, gave it the best vibes of all. Oh that's right ... about the food. Melt in your mouth, cooked to perfection and with giant portions ... 🤤🤤🤤 I am in a food coma and I can't get up. No wonder Guy Fieri loves this place. The telltale sign of a delicious place is customers smiling, talking and laughing. Dirty Birds has this overflowingly. I highly recommend DBs and will definitely eat here again.
AJ C — Google review
It’s been forever since I’ve been down to Dirty Birds, and I’m so happy it did not disappoint today. The hush puppies were 🔥 as always. The OG chicky sammich was terrific on its own, but once I added their homemade De Bo hot sauce, it was somehow even better. If you like heat but aren’t sure how much, start with the OG and try the De Bo sauce on the side, it’s the perfect kick. The homemade bun is spectacular, and the fry on that chicken is next level. Fries? Perfectly crispy. The whole meal was everything I hoped for, which is to say, perfection. I loved them back when they were tucked inside the Blackstone cafeteria. It always felt like some guys I’d want to have a beer with who just happened to make incredible chicken and were genuinely floored when people loved it. Now they’ve got their own shop, have been on DDD, and somehow still give off that same down-to-earth vibe. Just a bigger space and the same great crew doing what they love.
Paul K — Google review
🔥 Dirty Birds: Fried, Twisted, and Totally Addictive 🍗🍸 Dirty Birds isn’t just serving fried chicken—it’s reinventing it. Their twist on the classics (hello, chicken and waffles!) is pure genius. Every bite is crispy, juicy, and unapologetically flavorful. And let’s talk about that Chopped Achiote Sandwhich—toasted, layered with pickled green beans, and somehow both wild and perfectly balanced. I didn’t know I needed it in my life until I had it… now I’m hooked. Plus that fried chicken sandwich is as big as your head! The Bloody Mary? Hands down the best I’ve ever had. Spicy, savory, and crafted like they actually care (because they do). It’s the kind of drink that makes you want to cancel your plans and stay for round two. The vibe is casual but cool, located in the historic Flatiron Hotel, the food is next-level, and the addiction is real. Dirty Birds is officially my go-to for comfort food with a twist—and I’m not looking back.
Kim T — Google review
dirty birds has been a favorite spot for at least 3 years now since they had a spot in a food hall that was also located downtown and been one of my #1 cravings since pregnant lol. the debo has always been a favorite and i’ve made it my brothers favorite as well their hot sauce and ranch are actually superior as well as their garlic honey they put on the sandwich. the fries are always crunchy even juiced up with the hot sauce. today i tried the biscuits for the first time as well as the hush puppies and i will be adding those to my regular order. customer service is always welcoming as well!!!

So my wife took me here for my birthday. She saw it on triple d and so she took us there and it was amazing everything we tried was just perfect.the staff was inviting and very nice. We drove 2 hrs to get here and will do it again very soon hands down the best chicken I've ever eaten. Wife also loved the wings and said they were the best she ever had.
Matt J — Google review
We tried Dirty Birds for the first time yesterday and it was delicious!! This place was recommended to us by 3 locals so we had to check it out. You guys, the food quality and uniqueness is unreal. We got the hush puppies, the OG sandwich, the Deebo sandwich and some fries with two fountain drinks. Both sandwiches had a lot of flavor, the bread is handmade and you can tell. It was very light and airy but the flavor was so good. The hush puppies, mannnn we have never had anything like that. We definitely wanted more! All together we have an amazing experience, everyone was friendly, it was really clean inside and the food is out of this world. If we come to Omaha again we will definitely eat here again. You must try this place!! ❤️
Zebede M — Google review
Stopped in for a quick lunch on our way to Sioux City (visiting from California). I had seen Dirty Birds on Triple D a while back and was hoping for a great experience. The team at Dirty Birds did not disappoint. Warm friendly greeting from the moment we walked in until we left wirh our leftovers. The blue corn hushpuppies were amazing. My mom thought we had ordered meatballs. The quarter bird plate was absolutely perfect, and the brine on the chicken keeps it so moist and tender. I opted for the the chicken sandwich and that combo of the gouda and bacon with the honey mustard was divine. Fries were perfect and didn't need any sauce at all. Plus it was global champagne day so we enjoyed a fabulous glass of bubbly🍾 with our lunch!

Nestled in the historic Old Market district, Upstream Brewing Company is a must-visit for beer enthusiasts and food lovers alike. Established in 1996, this pioneering brewery occupies a charming turn-of-the-century firehouse and boasts an inviting atmosphere with both indoor seating and a unique rooftop patio that offers stunning views of downtown Omaha. Guests can savor handcrafted beers brewed on-site, including their classic pale ale and innovative options like the Eternity IPA.
Cool environment, good beer selection and drinks. Old firehouse definitely worth stopping in. Standard pub style food with vegan options. They make their own bread, which is unique.

Very cute place downtown. Beer was good. Love being able to get a flight to sample multiple brews. Our party was disappointed that there wasn’t a “sour” beer. I was happy with the beers I sampled. Food was just okay. Tomato basil soup was 5 stars, but the spinach artichoke dip was only two stars due to being mostly melted butter. The adult grilled cheese was okay - the inclusion of apple butter onto the sandwich is great in theory, but I feel there was too much on the sandwich overpowering the cheese and bread.
Heidi F — Google review
When they’re on a date recently and was pleasantly impressed. We have been at this place before we sat inside. Their selection of regular food was nothing special to me. However, this time around when we went, we had an outside patio seating, which was very pleasant and very nice. It allowed us to observe Omaha. It allowed us to enjoy that outside perspective. The food was good this time around we ordered appetizers chicken wings were absolutely great. The sauce was not just splattered on the wings, and they seem like they were actually marinated in the buffalo sauce which added to the flavor tremendously. We also ordered fish and chips and after having Gordon Ramsay‘s fish and chips, I was not expecting a whole lot from that. not because it’s not a name brand food or so but mainly because a lot of places in the United States are a hit or miss more miss with the fish and chips than hit. Well, I can say that upstream brewing company knows how to do their fish and chips and they were hands-down absolutely delicious. We would come back here for specifically that meal again.. There are seasonal brews and beers were great. We enjoyed every ounce that. I highly recommend this place.
Alexander K — Google review
A good selection of some very good beers--I especially liked the Dundee Scottish Ale. The brewery is in an old 2 story brick building with tons of character and comfortable seating. The second floor has pool and game tables in a large open bar area. There is a large selection of food options from appetizers to sandwiches to entrees. The burgers and fries were very good, The Rueben, although tasty, was served on some very thick, hard bread. I ended up eating the meat and sauerkraut, but left most of the bread on the plate. Service was good and the food came out very quickly. After we settled the bill, we felt rushed by the waitstaff although a few of us were still talking as we finished our drinks. There were plenty of empty tables and no line of people waiting to be seated. Sometimes it nice to sit and finish your drinks without pressure to leave.
Michael L — Google review
I visited Upstream Brewing on the last night of a business trip and chose to sit at the bar. I ordered a Saison Botanique, which had a delightful saison bite with strong floral notes—I was thoroughly impressed. After sampling a few of their other beers, I returned to the Saison Botanique to pair with my dinner. For my meal, I chose the salmon burger with fries. The salmon burger was good but not exceptional, as it felt somewhat dry, though I still enjoyed it. The fries, however, were outstanding, with a perfect crunch and excellent preparation. The service during the meal was adequate but not remarkable, much like the salmon burger. Overall, the Saison Botanique and fries were the highlights of the experience, while everything else met my expectations. I would gladly return on my next trip to Omaha. Rounding up from a 4.5 to a 5 since it’s a brewery and the beer was delicious.
Javi C — Google review
The burgers are nothing great. We sat outside, where there are plenty of bugs smaller than the black specks in the ranch, which was quite excellent actually. The bugs bite. This grew especially tiresome while we waited 10 minutes in the wind after paying to get our cards back. This was my first time in the Omaha Old Market, but I’m sure there’s better food around.
Brooke — Google review
Went on a Saturday afternoon to eat and watch husker game. Our waitress Lizzy was totally amazing!!! Attentive but not over attentive, let us watch the entire and continued to provide service. Food was very good and the smells of fresh baked bread were great ...so my party said...I was unable to smell it. Absolutely would recommend this place and if you get Lizzy as your server you will not be disappointed!

Sullivan's Steakhouse is a distinguished dining establishment that beautifully combines the art of steak and seafood cuisine. Nestled in the heart of downtown Omaha, within the charming Central Park Plaza, this steakhouse offers an elegant atmosphere perfect for any occasion—be it a business lunch or a romantic dinner. Guests can indulge in expertly prepared prime cuts of beef alongside fresh seafood options, all served with impeccable service.
The Lalo tequila pairing dinner was great. The food and cocktails were delicious. Service was very good. Loved having a representative from Lalo present. Would recommend they allow access to room based on arrival time. This could help accommodate those with special needs since seating is open. Also accommodations for those with allergies would be beneficial.

Everything was great especially the steak, crab and shrimp!! My only complaint is the price for the seafood tower was not listed and it ended up being $150 which is overpriced. Other than that excellent service very comfortable atmosphere and really nice servers! Thank you for the birthday card!

Jacob did an amazing service! We really appreciate it! However, we got a little bit disappointed that greatly grilled steak and scallop were actually way too salty to finish them up. I hope this will be great feedback to improve the quality of this restaurant. I will come back next time to see improvement. Thanks anyway.

The filet was fantastic and the garlic mashed potatoes were some of the best I’ve ever had. I really liked the $49 three course meal options. The crab cakes were all meat with no filler. Bitly was a good server as well.

We had Bitly as our server, she was AMAZING! Overall it’s such a good experience, the food and drinks were a little pricey but they were delicious, the vibe was chill, and they gave us the cutest personal card for mine and my partner’s birthday! 11/10 recommend :)

If you're like me you are here reading the comment section to find “great steakhouses near me.” This isn't a great steakhouse. It is an AMAZING steakhouse. You walk in and you're met by friendly staff surrounded by classic dark wood- toned atmosphere. The photos on the walls make you feel as if you've been transported back to a time and place where service is the norm not the exception. My wife and I were seated in a booth that was tucked away, intimate, cozy and yet we were never ignored. Laura D. You must ask for this amazing server when you make your reservation. Laura greeted us with the warmth that the entire steakhouse exudes. She walked us through the delectable intricacies of the menu highlighting what is part of their updated menu and what are solid favorites. This steakhouse does not play around. Your enjoyment of your meal is their business. They treat it seriously. Drinks: My wife tried the- SPICY FLAMED MARGARITA Flecha Azul Blanco Tequila, Cointreau, Fresh Orange Juice, Agave Nectar, Chipotle Salt Rim, Garnished with a Flaming Lime Cup it blended not just the alcohol with fruit but the pairings are fresh, tantalized the taste buds and satisfied. I went with the classic DIRTY BIRD MARTINI Belvedere Vodka, Olive Brine, Vermouth, Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives because…blue cheese! Appetizers: SEARED AHI TUNA* Cajun Spice Seared, Pickled Ginger, Cucumber succulent tuna and powerful ginger prevailed. Beef Wellington Bites* Tender Puffed Pastry filled with Filet Mignon, Creamy Mushroom Duxelles, Bourbon Peppercorn Sauce, and chives. These absolutely melted in the mouth. Beef Wellington was never represented better than on that plate! There were no survivors! I had to get the: SHRIMP & LOBSTER BISQUE Velvety Blend of Shrimp, Lobster, Sherry & Cream, Topped with Lobster & Shrimp Bowl14 |Cup12 Even getting the bowl was not enough. The sherry cream delivered such a robust flavor that wrapped each savory spoonful in velvet for the tongue. For mains: My wife loved her- STEAKHOUSE SALAD* Choice of Prime Strip Steak (8 oz block), Mixed Greens, Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes, Avocado, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Deviled Egg, Parmesan, Blue Cheese, Sweet Basil Vinaigrette I had a variation of the- CAESAR SALAD Heart of Romaine, Shaved Parmesan, Toasted Croutons, Creamy Caesar Dressing as I ordered it with my own 8 Oz block of Prime Strip Steak with the- CRAB-STUFFED SHRIMP Jumbo Shrimp, Jumbo Lump Crab with Lemon Beurre Blanc First, the sear on our steaks was paper thin and just as delectable as Laura described it with her pinkies in the air when she motioned as she spoke. For the best palate cleansing dessert we shared the- Key Lime Pie Graham Cracker Crust & Raspberry Purée You won't be sorry. We will return.

RJ was absolutely incredible! Perfect table-side manner and service. Exceptional knowledge and a genuinely kind person. The food was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere and decor is exactly ans you’d expect for a fine dining steakhouse experience. Even the pricing is unmatched! Nestled in Omaha's Old Market Passageway, V. Mertz is an iconic and elegant restaurant with a rich history dating back over 100 years. Originally a fruit and vegetable cellar, it has evolved into a cultural and historical local gem. The Mercer family played a significant role in restoring the Old Market district, with V. Mertz being one of the original businesses to open there as a French-style cafe and wine shop. Today, V.
The kitchen of V. Mertz celebrates life through creative exploration of food. Each dish we had was simultaneously unique and a variation on a theme. The tasting menu offered incredibly complex flavor destinations on an expertly booked journey. The savory bread roll, risotto, and lamb were especially delicious and the sous chef's experimental sweet potato pie foie gras paired with a bold Sauternes wine was like walking through a portal into fall nostalgia. Every member of the staff contributed to a perfect evening but Drew happened to be our guide through the dinner of the year.

Little late on the review but better late than never! I came in for a birthday dinner. I absolutely loved that the menus said Happy Birthday! Overall I felt the food was good but not wow. The appetizer and the dessert left a little to be desired, but the main course was fantastic! I will say that all the dishes were visually stunning.

There truly aren’t enough words to capture the phenomenal dining experience my team and I — a group of more than 20 professionals — had at this remarkable establishment! From start to finish, every detail reflected an extraordinary level of care, passion, and hospitality. The food was nothing short of exquisite — each dish thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. Every plate told a story of culinary expertise and dedication. The wine and cocktail pairings were spot-on, perfectly complementing the flavors and enhancing the overall dining experience. The service was equally impressive. Despite the size of our group, the staff never missed a beat. They were attentive without being intrusive, warm without being overbearing, and professional while still creating an atmosphere that felt comfortable and personal. The ambiance completed the experience — elegant yet inviting, refined yet relaxed. It’s clear that the team here takes pride not only in what they serve but also in how they make guests feel. A special thank-you to the bartenders, wait staff, and sommelier, whose expertise elevated the evening, and to the kitchen team, whose creativity and skill made the magic happen behind the scenes. Simply put: you haven’t truly experienced Omaha until you’ve dined here. I’m already looking forward to returning later this week during my conference — and this restaurant is now officially marked as a Favorite on my Google Maps. Without a doubt, this will be a regular stop every time I’m in town!

Best dining experience in Omaha, hands down. The food is out of this world. If Michelin cared about Omaha, they’d have a star. The service is top notch, probably the finest service in town. They love to share their passion for food, wine, and a great experience with their guests. HIGHLY recommend.

We loved our steaks very much. The hummus appetizer was the right size and delicious. A great wine list (for Omaha) and a fun vibe.
Eric H — Google review
Celebrated my wife's birthday and it did not disappoint! Service was excellent. We did the tasting menu and everything was well prepared, very tasty, and filling. The wine pairing with the tasting menu was fantastic as well. After asking about the foie gras dish on the a la carte menu (preparation etc.), we were very grateful to have it offered to us as a gift for no charge! Fantastic venue that has won us food connoisseurs over as future regulars. For those looking for a fine dining tasting menu esque experience in Omaha, this is a home-run. The only down side I would say, is that it was a little noisy in there; not necessarily a negative mark on the restaurant or staff or anything like that, but just something to potentially keep in mind. But overall, was a great date and we will look forward to next time!
Jordan T — Google review
We absolutely LOVE this place. Never a bad experience dining here and we eat here at least twice a year. The tartare and duck are my personal favorites. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. We appreciate the wine recommendations as well as we prefer southern hemispheres wines. This is one of the best, if not the best, fine dining restaurants in Omaha.

Very good food in a cozy setting. My wife had the boneless quail and it was great. The bread service was also outstanding. Service could have been better - it took over an hour for our entrees with no communication from the staff. The two tables next to us appeared to be regulars and they were served several courses while we sat there starving. They also got lots of attention from the sommelier, who did not stop by our table at all, even after I inquired about the wine. Hopefully an off night but it was a bummer.

Bistro
Wave Bistro is a charming and artistic restaurant that offers a blend of Asian fusion cuisine with a European influence. The bistro, located in the Hillsborough neighborhood of Omaha, has been serving its patrons for nearly 30 years. Owners Andy and Jenny Hsu bring their 25 years of experience to create an exceptional dining experience. The menu features a variety of dishes such as Lemon Creamy Almond Shrimp and Thai Basil Crusted Chicken, showcasing a perfect harmony between contemporary and traditional flavors.
We had an event catered by Wave Bistro, and the experience was absolutely exceptional. The owners went above and beyond to prepare delicious dishes that were not only beautifully presented but also full of authentic flavors. Every bite brought me nostalgia from the country I was born in, making the meal even more special. The service was outstanding, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and inviting. If you’re looking for incredible Asian cuisine with top-notch service, I highly recommend Wave Bistro.

Top-notch food. Very high quality and unique Asian cuisine. One of the best restaurants of any type in Omaha. I have never had a bad or even mediocre dish here. The pan seared dumpling appetizer was excellent. The dumplings are tasty with a light batter. The portion size is ample for an appetizer and probably enough for 3 people to leave room for the entree. I ordered the Yakisoba noodles with chicken. They were not stingy on the chicken and somehow manage to elevate what would appear to be an ordinary dish of noodles into a delight from the first bite to the last. The portion size is large. The bread rolls are some of the best anyway as they taste like a light and fluffy funnel cake. No butter is needed in my opinion. The restaurant is family owned and the service is usually welcoming, attentive, and professional. Try this place tonight if you have not already.

This was our first visit to Wave Bistro. My wife and I had a nice quiet dinner to help celebrate our anniversary. The service was great, and our server was extremely knowledgeable. My wife's scallops and shrimp were cooked to perfection! She loves scallops when they're done right. My chicken was so tender and tasty. In case you need to eat gluten-free, Wave Bistro has you covered. We would definitely go back.

I very much consider myself a Chinese foodie, but probably the American version of Chinese food to be clear. I have eaten at Wave Bistro a few times, and it has always been good. They were busy on this particular evening, but the food was great and we had enough for leftovers the next day too. The prices have gone up, but the portions were very reasonable. If I lived closer, I would come here more often.

Plenty of good things to say about Wave! The food was good, and the presentation was fantastic! Service was great, and the cheesecake was good too. I was told to order the lamb from a friend's recommendation. It was good, but not my favorite lamb dish to date. Next time I'll skip it and go for something a little more traditional on their menu. But did I mention the presentation? So creative, fun, and colorful. Not something you see in a lot of restaurants any more.

We were there just two days ago and food was delicious. OwnerJenny was very friendly and attentive! Great ambience and decor! We had cashew salmon, chicken lettuce wraps, wanton soup, and all of that were delicious. The free bread appetizer are our favorite! Highly recommend this place if you are in the NW area by 144th & Maple next to Home Depot.

The dining room is very beautiful. Much higher end than I had envisioned it. Hot and sour soup 4.25 stars Egg drop 3.75 stars Beef with hoisin sauce 5 stars Perfect for my taste. My friend though thought it wasn't salty enough for his. Chicken in garlic sauce 3.75 stars Not enough garlic flavor. It was a slightly sweet sauce so if you want a slightly sweet thing it might be for you. The sauce lowered the rating but I was impressed with the chicken not being dry which is an issue I've been running into with Chinese American food in Omaha. Green Thai curry 5 stars Surprise hit. This i thought was going to be mediocre but turned out to be a great version of yours dish. Shrimp fried rice 4 stars Not quite enough wok hay for my taste, but a good version to order still. Garlic basil crusted chicken with seven spice mango sauce 3 star I didn't really enjoy this one all that much. Felt that there are better options. We did notice it wasn't one of the favorited items, which we were surprised about since it sounded so amazing. Upon eating it I can see why. There's just better options on the menu Parking is available in a medium sized shared lot.

The Boiler Room is a charming loft restaurant with an industrial-chic ambiance and a wine cellar. It pays homage to its past as a boiler room while offering more than just stylish decor. The restaurant collaborates with 18 local growers to procure top-quality ingredients, which are then transformed into inventive and flavorful dishes that change with the seasons. Chef Tim Nicholson, a native of Omaha and multiple James Beard Awards' semifinalist, leads the kitchen in creating an exceptional culinary experience using farm-fresh foods.
We've been trying to get reservations for awhile, especially on a weekend so I suggest reserving asap! The atmosphere was chill, relaxed but upscale. We were seated upstairs which gave a great view of the kitchen. Service was fantastic! They really went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful experience. We dined on our anniversary weekend and got a couple flutes of champagne! What a fun surprise from them. The food was so excellent!! We ordered The steak & Pork Chop. Cannot wait to go back. It may be pricey, but it was worth it.

We were lucky enough to be in Omaha when The Boiler Room was having a special wine dinner menu - wines from a producer in the Rioja region of Spain. The set menu was as delicious as it sounded. They were able to graciously accommodate my shellfish allergy without a hitch! We loved the ambiance of the upstairs dining area and our waiter was well trained and very personable. The sommelier spent loads of time with us - very special. I highly recommend The Boiler Room.

Went to the Boiler Room for my birthday as a surprise and the food was absolutely to die for. The pork belly appetizer had SO much flavor and was delectable. Just as the main courses were. Honestly every dish we got was so full of flavor and so well made. One of the best meals I’ve had in Omaha. The service was excellent and they were on top of every need and question. I highly recommend if you want a very nice dinner with excellent service!

Amazing food, service, and venue! Definitely visit if you have not. It is a bit more on the upscale side so expect prices accordingly. But in my opinion, at least based on the food and service we received, it was absolutely worth every penny! Perfect for a special occasion like anniversary or birthday, or date night. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. Definitely go if you haven't already.. you will not regret it!

This was our first time at The Boiler Room. We had heard many good things and were very excited for our early Valentine’s Day dinner. To start, we ordered the Soy Glazed Pork Belly. It was phenomenal. My wife and I both hate carrots yet we’re delighted with the carrot puree served under the belly. The meat itself was soft and extremely flavorful. My wife ordered the Sablefish and I ordered the Venison Loin. The sablefish was done amazingly. Each element complimented it extremely well and the cook was perfect. The venison was a perfect experience overall. I’ve never had a dish where each of the sides and sauces worked so well together. The sweet potato paired well with the rare meat and the risotto was cooked to perfection. We finished off with a chocolate semifreddo served with peanut butter mouse. It was delicious and perfectly sized. We also each ended with an espresso, which was saved by the biscotti. We never expect much from restaurant espressos, but the biscotti was a welcome treat. We each had a couple cocktails throughout the meal and were very pleased with them. The waiter was a bit quiet and standoffish but knew their menu and were very quick. The restaurant was not very full due to weather and made for a quieter atmosphere. At times it was a bit too quiet, but this was not at the fault of the restaurant. We agreed this was one of our best meals in Omaha in quite a long time. The price was worth it and we will be back again in the future.

We had a fabulous experience! The atmosphere was amazing and the service was just as good. I’m a big foodie so when I say the food is phenomenal, it was very very good! We decided to try most of the appetizers and they didn’t disappoint! They have a very nice wine list as well! Definitely recommend if you’re here in Omaha I want a great food experience!

Wow. Simply wow. What a great place. The atmosphere is unassuming but classy. The menu is limited, which to me says excellence. The sommelier was knowledgeable and helpful. The food was AMAZING. I’ve had great food in many places but this was simple and absolutely delicious. I had the wagyu hangar steak. Tartare and croquettes and pork belly for an appetizer. We enjoyed the dessert sampler and some port after the main dish. Highly recommend if you’re ever in the area!!
Thomas C — Google review
This was our second time visiting Boiler Room. We ordered the steak first time around, and we found it to be lacking. We decided to give it a second try for our anniversary and unfortunately, the food remained mediocre. It is unfortunate, considering the ambience is very appealing and the cocktails and complimentary champagne for our anniversary were great. To start, we ordered tagliatelle and pork belly. Each of these dishes was good enough, though not standouts in their own right. For the main courses, we ordered the halibut and duck breast. Similar to our first visit, the main courses fell flat, considering the price ($50+ each dish). The duck was chewier than we would prefer and the halibut was completely ordinary. My boyfriend noted that the flavors of each visit leaned heavily into earthy flavors, which left him wanting more. For instance, the apple and beet purée accompanying his duck was something that was unpleasant on its own but okay when eaten with the rest of the dish. The highlight of the evening was the pistachio semifreddo, which was accompanied by white chocolate and blackberries. It was a great way to end the meal. We also received complimentary macarons, which were pleasant and buttery. Each time we have been to The Boiler Room, we were hoping to give it 5 stars. Unfortunately, we left underwhelmed each time. For the price, there are much better restaurants in the area.

Hamburger restaurant
Dinkers Bar and Grill is a local favorite in Omaha, serving up burgers, beer, and tasty appetizers since 1965. The place has gained a cult-like following for its delicious offerings. The menu features various burger joints like Charred, Block 16, Dinkers, Stellas, and Porky Butts.
Hands down one of the best wings I’ve had in a while. Their ordering system is a little tricky. They are cash only, 2 different points of sale. One for food and another for alcoholic drinks. You pay upfront and they’ll take your order to your table.

Great friend mushrooms and onion rings with ranch dressing. Burger had all the potential of being one of the top in Omaha, but the patty itself didn't have the seasoned flavor, to me the meat didn't taste fresh. Wings were above average. Atmosphere was interesting, some say dive bar but it is much nicer inside. CASH ONLY Lots of history with celebrity visits, an Omaha favorite.
Justin L — Google review
Was recommended this burger as it won some contests for best burger. The first two things to know is that you’ll need to drive here but there is plenty of parking there. The second is that they only accept cash. As you enter, first go to pay for food and then do the same for drinks. The burger was good but I didn’t find it amazing either: the beef patty is huge and it gets very meaty. However the egg and ham in the burger were a nice addition. Service was quick; staff kept refilling my drink which was very nice.
Nico M — Google review
Definitely a place you should try. We’d probably go more often if it were closer to home. Cash only. Onion rings are great. Good fries. Good burger. Very much a bar vibe.
Rob H — Google review
Good burger spot—cash only. My son got the triple-meat burger and said, “Now that’s a burger!” The fries were crispy and solid. I had the patty melt—it was okay, not as flat as I’m used to. The onion rings were a bit too greasy for me. Both burgers were well-seasoned and tasty.

As a pickleball player, I love the name. Interesting layout, long and somewhat narrow. However there is plenty of seating and a bar rail. You order at the counter and their prices are very reasonable. Plenty of staff to make the process smooth and had a manager stop by and check on the experience. Have been here before and will be back.

Classic burger and fries type joint. Order at the back counter, cash only. Beefy burgers and excellent onion rings. Every time I've been here the service has been on point. Even when it's busy the food comes out in a reasonable amount of time and the staff keeps things flowing.

Fun place to grab a burger. The burgers were great. Lots of options. If you get a drink, they don’t have whiskey fyi. But there do have rum! I’m certainly impressed by the decorations and atmosphere. The old school sports pictures and results are awesome in the city of Omaha. The only downside was the fries. They were definitely not a highlight.

Louie M’s is a quaint breakfast/lunch spot with a great, friendly staff and solid food. They have a fun ambiance, with lots of kitschy decor. The pancakes were the standout, being both fluffy but slightly crispy on top. The biscuits and grave were a little underwhelming, with the biscuits clearly from a bag. But everything else was quite good and this place is definitely worth a try.

Wow! We stopped here on a whim when trying to find a place to eat outside of the Henry Doorly Zoo. And I have to say, it was one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time (I got the guacamole bacon burger). It was HUGE and tasted so good, and the fries were good as well. We ate right outside the front door since there were some tables and chairs along the sidewalk. The service was excellent, and we’ll definitely come back again when visiting the area. There’s a cool mural on the back side of the building too. Parking is a little tight. It’s less than 5 minutes driving from the zoo.

Sooooo good! That burger had to be hand pattied! Perfect and perfect and so were the onion rings. And the paper menus and the little diner atmosphere definitely played part in this great experience!

The burger patty made the burger. Real meat and obviously hand done. The meat was high quality. Got a chance to talk to the owner and found out the meat is delivered daily from a family owned local meat processor (bonus: you get to support two local businesses at one time when you eat here). The food is simple and real. The flavor feels wholesome. The service is friendly and familiar. I was fortunate enough to watch the restaurant fill up with regulars for lunch and hear them all greeted by name. A restaurant that had that many happy regulars has some magic. I'm pretty sure it is the family that owns and operates it. The neighborhood it is in is on the upswing with so many cool historic building. The restaurant has all the eclectic charm and character that it's years of history would demand. All around a great spot for lunch. I look forward to trying breakfast, here.

I love restaurants like this! It’s not just about the food but also the conversations. The Bacon Cheddar Burger was decent, but the service was spectacular. I started a conversation with the server, who shared a bit of their story with me. They mentioned being born and raised in Omaha and revealed how deeply connected they were to the restaurant—so much so that they were named after someone linked to it. It’s those conversations that really set a restaurant apart from one another. Perhaps I’m romanticizing it a bit, but this is what makes small-town America so wonderful!

this isn't above average diner with really good breakfast food I had hash browns and eggs and toast which is my go-to and it was better than my home diner. price was very reasonable and hard to beat these days but quality was not compromised by price and service was phenomenal. J. Gilbert's Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood in Omaha offers a fine dining experience with a classic steakhouse menu and an extensive selection of sides and cocktails. The restaurant is known for its exceptional dishes, including perfectly seared steaks and delectable desserts. One of the highlights is the 4oz steak and shrimp, which are highly praised for their delicious flavors. This establishment stands out as one of the top choices for a high-quality dining experience in Omaha.
The wife and I enjoyed a beautiful date night in downtown Omaha. We made reservations a week in advance and were seated promptly upon arrival. Our waitress was very friendly and took our drink order right away, while explaining the house specials for the evening. We started off with a Smoke Old Fashioned and Lavender Drop along with an order of Oysters Rockefeller. The oysters were fantastic and the drinks were spot on. My old fashioned has the equivalent of 2 drinks worth and was perfect for the entire meal. The house bread was flavorful and warm, and the smoked pastrami butter was delicious. My wife ordered the bone in pork chop while I had the aged New York strip. Both cuts of meat were cooked exactly as ordered and both meals were full of flavor. Overall, it was a great date night experience and I would highly recommend for anyone who has never visited.

Really enjoyed this steakhouse. The oysters on the half shell were fantastic. The fillet was very flavorful and melted in my mouth. It was more on the rare side than medium rare, but it worked for me. I sat at the bar and Holly was very attentive and friendly. I recommend this place to wind down, a nice drink and great meal.

We came here last night for a date night, and it was such a wonderful choice. The food was excellent — the Pretzel Crusted Onion Rings and the Shrimp Cocktail were both amazing. The atmosphere was perfect, not too loud, and it felt upscale without being stuffy. I’d definitely recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for a great dining experience.

What an awesome dining experience! Reminded me of restaurants in DC, with its modern interior look and bustling vibe. Our service was excellent, and the food was exceptionally delicious! We each ordered the three-course meal, which for what we got were very reasonably priced. For the entree I got the steak and crab cake and both were absolutely phenomenal! The wife got the same but had a side of mushroom risotto which was probably the best risotto I've tasted! We also ordered a Calamari appetizer, which was really flavorful and lightly breaded, and wine as well. The 3-course meal also came with a dessert, so we got probably one of the tastiest creme brules we've ever had, and a huge slice of carrot cake that was "oh my gosh delicious"! Definitely cannot say enough good things about our experience... Highly recommend!

This steakhouse is a huge asset to the city of Omaha. It has a great vibe, super elegant, and the steaks are in a class of their own. My ribeye was perfectly grilled, and the taste was incredible. My server was very informative and accommodating. She had several recommendations for my keto diet. The crab bisque probably was the best I’ve ever eaten.

Very nice upscale steakhouse. Impeccable service from Ashley (I hope I’m remembering her name correctly.) Really liked being able to choose my own style of steak knife. We ordered off the pre-fixe menu (1st time in) and it did not disappoint! Medium rare filet mignon with bourbon maple glazed shrimp, asparagus & tomatoes and sour cream mashed potatoes. Side salad was more like a normal dinner salad packed with a lot of good things, not just a few tomatoes and croutons. My dinner guest had her filet with the lump crab cake. For dessert, we ordered the crème brûlée. Never saw a crème brûlée like this one, and it was perfect! We also had the berry dessert. My smoked Old Fashioned was excellent! Can’t say enough good things about this place. The noise level was acceptable even with a full dining room. Stop by and see this place for yourself!

Excellent steak restaurant. Intimate seating, mood lighting. The steaks were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The sides were delicious. Great kids menu and the Mac and cheese could easily feed 2-3 people. The crème brûlée was the best!

It was horrific at best. It was my mom’s 84th Birthday, I had said when I made the reservation it was for a birthday. We got there and the girls hosting were so not caring. I had to ask for the dessert card which made me think this was off to a bad start. The girls up front were on their phones and brushing their hair the whole time. We sat at a high table in the bar area which turned out to be a huge mistake. The service was awful as the waitress started with attitude from the start. She seemed miffed at having to wait on an older lady. My mom was a bit confused about desserts this seems to pirated the server. Which is sad. 84 is a milestone birthday. My mom has been through so much and to just treat her with annoyance and sighs was so mean. This really hurt me. The bread too a long time to arrive, was not warm and I had the pleasure of pulling a hair out of my mouth while eating the second piece. It had been stuck to the bottom of the bread. I had to spit it out and pull the hair out of my mouth. I asked for a different bread and a fresh napkin but the waitress seemed annoyed and didn’t take the dirty napkin nor did she bring me a new one. I had to go to another table to get a fresh napkin. I had the pleasure of having the dirty napkin on the table through the whole meal. While waiting for our food, a food runner brought over a platter of oysters that we did not order. He insisted on placing it on the table despite telling him 3x we did not order the oysters. I am allergic and his being forceful and pushing all our plates, glasses out of the way was upsetting. The waitress finally caught him and gave them to the correct table. Not even an apology for us but for the other table. Dinner came out, the sides all mixed up, steaks were burned on the outside, raw in the middle. They were not edible. Redo was just as bad. Au gratin potatoes were gooey, very unpleasant and disgusting really. Beyond disappointed, my mother’s birthday ruined. She cried on the way home.

Bar & grill
Crescent Moon is a popular tavern in Omaha, known for its wide selection of top beers from around the world and pub fare. The tavern is famous for serving one of the best versions of the Reuben sandwich in the city, which is said to have been invented right across the street at the Cottonwood Hotel.
Love this spot! Crescent Moon has such a great vibe—laid-back, welcoming, and full of character. The food is always solid (highly recommend the Reuben), and they’ve got a great selection of local brews on tap that makes it easy to try something new each time. Whether you’re hanging with friends or just want a chill place to grab a bite and a beer, this place hits the mark. Definitely one of my go-to favorites in Omaha. This post was made in connection with a toast promotion.

Decided to try this place for the history aspect. Seems like a chill sports bar with a wide tap selection. The Reuben: very saucy, loaded with meat and kraut. Overall it was good, but I had some textural issues with the way the beef was cut. I guess I've never had cubed beef on a sandwich, and now I know why. Certainly takes away from the experience. Chips and salsa as a side were as good as chips and salsa from a sports bar can be. Fries were crispy, well seasoned, and plentiful. This place was exactly what I needed it to be, and it was worth the try for the history-adjacent aspect.

One of the best Reuben sandwiches my wife and I have had in the last few years. As legend has it, the Reuben was created at a poker game in Omaha’s Blackstone Hotel. Reuben Kulakofsky was one of the group of poker players and came up with it and Crescent Moon follows the original recipe. Crescent Moon has a friendly staff and great dine-in atmosphere. Pay for parking is available a block behind the restaurant as well as limited free street parking.

Visited on a work trip. Recommended by the bartender at our hotel for their wings. They are supposedly the originator of the a Reuben Sandwich sonI had to try it. The sandwich was good. I got the wings as well but they didn't taste great. They were definitely the wrong flavor but I didn't feel like switching them in addition to being charged extra ranch when I didn't ask for extra ranch or was even given extra. I received on small container of it.

A friend and I stayed at the hotel across the street and wanted some late night apps and drinks. We loved the drinks, the bartender put his own spin on drinks based on our tastes. The food came out quickly and was delicious, portions were great to share. My dad ended up meeting up and also helped us eat the apps. My only complaint or even observation was the bartender was great but the doorman just seemed to “bark” orders at the bartender. It was weird. Other than that our experience was 10/10.
Monica — Google review
At first, you’re going to think this is just some little dive bar, but that is not the vibe that hit you when you walk in. There were a lot of families in there, as well as locals who are just grabbing a beer after work. However, like us, there were many people there to try the Reuben sandwich. I don’t even like Reuben sandwiches, and this one was off-the-charts delicious. I will definitely eat here again when I return to Omaha. Our server was one of the nicest gals I’ve ever encountered. She told me all about the history of the place end of the sandwich. The bathrooms need some work as far as cleanliness, but that’s the only imperfection about the place.

Dropped in for lunch during their Rueben Fest week. We had the smoked Rueben, the cheesesteak Reuben, and the Reuben soup. Wish the smoke Rueben was on the menu year round.

New American restaurant
Dolce is an upscale restaurant in West Omaha that offers contemporary American cuisine and a warm, relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant has received several accolades, including Best of Omaha and OpenTable Diners Choice awards. Despite its small lunch menu, every dish is enticing, such as the Chorizo Mac and Cheese. The name "Dolce," meaning sweet in Italian, reflects the lovely ambiance perfect for special occasions with exceptional service.
Chef Anthony and his chef pairing was simply devine. From taste to textures, to aroma to presentation, it was star studded!!! Chef Anthony is just a super cool guy doing what he does best and has trained for so many years. Don't sit on this place, instead make your reservation and walk on in.

Our first time here, and we were pleasantly surprised. This is a great place for a romantic date night. The chef and staff were very friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. They went above and beyond to make us happy, and we appreciated that. Will definitely be returning!
Austin K — Google review
My husband and I stumbled upon this place when we first moved to Omaha. This place has the freshest food and the best interesting flavor combinations. Only down side is that when ever my husband and I go we are always ignored by the main chef. He will come out and talk to other guests but avoid us.
Emily — Google review
We wandered into Dolce a couple months ago without a reservation -- we didn't think we needed one. Chef Anthony expressed his regret at being unable to seat us, he and asked us to please make a reservation and come back. Chef is very hands-on with his business. He understands quality food and quality service, and he made us feel like we were the center of his attention for the evening. We spent about three hours enjoying the five-course tasting menu, but the time flew by anticipating the next piece of edible art. The atmosphere was perfect as the lighting was soft, and while there was a positive buzz in the place, it was quiet enough to have a conversation comfortably. We highly recommend Dolce and will be returning.
Chris R — Google review
The Mac and cheese was some of the best I had. I liked that it was more saucy. The flavor carried over very well. Soup of the day was a cauliflower infused with truffle. The mussel option for lunch was $11. Exceptionally generous portion of mussels. The chicken gnocchi option was fine. It was good, but the other items stood out more for me. Service was friendly and polite. Definitely would like to see the rest of their menu. Presentation is very nice. Altogether a lovely restaurant great for date nights. It has an intimate high class feel to it.

I've been to quite a few high-end restaurants and Dolce still holds the spot for my favorite meal ever. The chef's tasting menu was incredible. The chef came out, explained each dish, told us about the herbs and vegetables he grows in his own garden, and everything was beyond amazing. Great job.

We had a party of two to celebrate a job offer, and the service was outstanding. I had made a special request for a congratulations table setting, and I was so appreciative of their efforts. Our server was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. We each did the Prix Fixe menu, trying an array of the items. We also added wine pairings and a few cocktails (Jameson & the Giant Peach was fabulous). Pictured are the Angus hanging tender, yuzu creme brulee, and chocolate cheesecake. It's true - they taste even better than they look. I highly recommend the Caesar salad as an option on the Prix Fixe too. We are excited to return for our special occasions.

For sure next time we’re in town we will be back ! It worth 2 hours drive to the restaurant .

Chicken restaurant
Restaurant
Alpine Inn is a unique dining spot in Omaha known for its delicious fried chicken and the daily wildlife show it offers. The restaurant has become a tourist attraction due to its tradition of feeding leftover food and chicken bones to over 50 raccoons and feral cats. This practice, which started decades ago, has turned into a charming spectacle for diners as they watch the furry woodland creatures feast just outside the floor-to-ceiling windows.
We really enjoyed the Alpine Inn and their fried chicken and gizzards. We even went back the next day for fried shrimp and more gizzards. Busy, but worth the wait. At dusk the raccoons came out.
Melanie L — Google review
This place was awesome! There were definitely a lot of people who came just to watch the raccoons (we were two of them), but there were also a lot of locals as well. I don’t think the place has changed much in the last 40 years but somehow adds to the great ambiance. The food was solid and dirt-cheap, paired with excellent customer service!
Dan R — Google review
We sat at the windows and watched the raccoons outside! The staff feed them with table scraps and they come right up! So much fun! Biker bar vibe with fun raccoons! Broasted chicken wings (I could barely eat 2!) Were meaty and delicious 😋 Fun place to visit!
Maria C — Google review
Such an original concept! It was lovely getting to see the raccoons while enjoying dinner. The food was delicious. Prices were reasonable. This is a very casual, laid-back place. It can get quite busy during peak hours, so be sure to plan ahead.

This place is everything people say it is. Funny, you wouldn't know this place is there. Chicken is crispy and flavorful. Wasn't to crowded but it was busy. Prices are more than reasonable. The scraps are put outside for the local racoons.
Roberto R — Google review
The food was incredible, some of the best fried chicken I have had. The chicken livers, coleslaw and macaroni salad were equally as good. We did wait for a while to be seated but expected that since it was a Saturday night. The wait staff was short handed so it also took us a while to place our drink/food order but it was worth the wait once the food came. The prices were good and my daughter enjoyed seeing the racoons. Overall it was a unique and enjoyable experience but anticipate a wait if you plan to visit

Sushi restaurant
Asian restaurant
Fine dining restaurant
Yoshitomo is an intimate and upscale neighborhood sushi restaurant in Omaha, led by nationally acclaimed chef David Utterback. The menu features creative Japanese small plates, nigiri, and maki sushi that blend traditional flavors with modern reinterpretations. Dishes like oni egg and kaki showcase the innovative approach to ingredients. The restaurant has been recognized as one of America's best sushi spots by The Washington Post.
We spent $150 total including a 20% tip. Everything was delicious and this is what we got: Appetizers: * Oni Egg x 2: bright and savory, the egg itself sat on top of a bed of what would be similar to potato salad, perfect app. Bites: * Aburi Wagyu: pretty straight forward in concept, flavor however has so much more depth and layers, close second favorite, must try. * Hama Toast: believe it or not, this was our favorite out of everything, it had all the right textures and flavors, very comforting, must try of must tries. * Truffle Scallop: these were my least favorite out of everything, I got more of a lemon taste than truffle, still good however. Plates: * Kani Miso (fried rice with fish roe): decadent, again, another must try. Makimono: * Osaka: this one was so fun, the bonito flakes on top were very flavorful and unique. * Khaleesi: this one packed a citrus-y punch, nothing like I’ve ever had before. Notes: The entrance is completely blacked out and hard to find, gives speakeasy vibes. We made a reservation for the sushi bar so we could watch them prepare, otherwise it was a normal service.

Best experience with sushi. The server was passionate about the food he was serving, which I think is rare for any restaurant. He wanted to make sure our first time was as wonderful as he thought Yoshitomo was. Shout-out to James, who really went the extra mile. He was very helpful when describing and suggesting things to try. The sushi itself was amazing, and before we left the server brought out one last bite (the Ume Hirame) as a thank you for our visit, and it was the most beautiful piece to end on. Everyone in our party left happy and were talking about it nonstop after. No subbing/adding/removing items, but I find that really respectable when a chef is putting their art to your dish. The Prairie Tuna was wonderfully done with butter over wagyu. The Hama Toast is an enigma because the toast part was crispy on the outside but so fluffy on the inside for such a tiny piece. Each dish was delicious and wonderful in their own way and brought different textures and taste with them. Highly recommended!
Josh M — Google review
If you are anywhere near Omaha, Nebraska, you MUST eat at Yoshitomo. I have eaten sushi in amazing restaurants all over the world and this was by far the best and most creative I have ever had. Service was fast, professional and friendly. Several different servers delivered our food and they all described each dish in detail. No one was on a hurry but service was timed perfectly. Top notch. The food was so good that we had to go back to eat there a second time during our short stay in Omaha. Everything was outstanding but my favorites were the Hama Toast with hamachi and brown butter and Jamachi with smoked hamachi, granny smith apples and cherry jam. Trust me. The flavor combinations are completely unexpected and like nothing I have tried and they all work. This is one of my all time favorite dining experiences. Just go. And try everything!

I know I’m just one in a long line that already exists singing the praises of Yoshitomo but my wife and I went today to celebrate our 10th anniversary and we walked away agreeing this was the best food we’ve ever had. Not just of sushi, but of all food. We’d never been before and our server was not only incredibly sweet but very knowledgeable, and when we had selected our rolls she confirmed that this would be a great selection for our first time. We got the Rodeo (a roll consisting of wagyu beef), Rangucci (consists of crab Rangoon filling), and Kumo (soft shell crab with cajun shrimp butter). All three were different kinds of savory, so delicious. The two of us typically add soy sauce to sushi, but we didn’t even need it. No extra flavors necessary, we ate it without any. Our server suggested we also try the Yaki Gindara bites (sablefish, only one piece each) and her suggestion was perfect, it melted in our mouths and basically changed my life 😂 All to say, if you’ve been waiting around for the right moment to try David Yoshitomo’s restaurant, quit waiting and make a point to go in. This was an amazing experience and we will be back again for our next sushi outing!

I’ve have wanted to try this restaurant for a while and finally decided to give it a go. I came early without a reservation.. around 4:45. I was warmly greeted and then shown to the sushi bar. It was very cool to watch the chefs prepare the dishes. The witness came over and explained the menu and gave me a couple of recommends. I decided to try something from every category minus the nigiri or sashimi. The dish that surprised me the most: Hama toast. I’ve never had sushi on sourdough but I really enjoyed it! My favorite dish: yaki gindara… very beautiful mild flavor with a nice hint of yuzu. I also ordered the royale… I normally love spicy sushi but this was SPICY!! Good flavors but spicier than I liked and wouldn’t get it again. Overall fantastic meal and excellent service!!

Hands down the most elegant and flavorful sushi restaurant in the Midwest. One would have to travel to Chicago to get a meal as delicious as this. So many options to satisfy any connoisseur.

Anytime I visit from Dallas I have to make a trip here. Everything is amazing!! The beef Tartare is one of my favorites and akasake is a great pairing. It was a pleasure meeting David Utterback during my lunch. Highly recommended.

Dining at Yoshitomo in Omaha, Nebraska, is nothing short of a revelation. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between intimate and lively, making it ideal for both quiet conversations and celebratory meals. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive without being intrusive, and clearly proud of the artistry they were serving. I ordered the variety sushi and several other dishes, and every bite reaffirmed why Yoshitomo has earned such a stellar reputation. The fish was impeccably fresh — delicate, vibrant, and expertly sliced — while the rice had the perfect balance of seasoning and texture. Each piece of sushi felt thoughtfully composed, highlighting the natural flavors without overwhelming them. The attention to detail extended beyond the food, too, from the beautiful plating to the timing of each course arriving at the table. Simply put, Yoshitomo is a standout not just in Omaha, but anywhere. It’s clear that chef David Utterback and his team are on a mission to deliver world-class sushi in the Midwest, and they succeed in spectacular fashion. Whether you’re a seasoned sushi aficionado or someone just beginning to explore it, Yoshitomo is a must-visit — a place where every bite feels special and memorable.

On our way to the Riverfront, we stopped at Broncos for dinner. It was our first time dining here since moving to Omaha in 2010! We’ve heard about how good the burgers were but the best part of the experience was Mrs. B! She was so kind to us and explained the menu while giving her personal suggestions and recommendations. My son stated the burgers reminded him of Checkers! The atmosphere was quaint-reminded us of Happy Days!

I had a coupon for the bogo. the cashier didn't even want to recognize the coupon. Then tried to say I could only use one side of my coupon for separate transactions and separate people. (I'd understand if it was for one person) Did not want to listen to me or the manager. Gave the manager attitude when he confirmed i was correct. Thankfully , he (the manager) resolved the issue . The food was amazing as always.

I really want to like Broncos because it’s a local spot and super convenient — it’s right by my apartment — but every time I go, I’m reminded why I usually stay away. The food is fine, but the service is consistently disappointing. On my latest visit, I asked (politely) if I could get a half cherry Coke, half Diet Coke, and before I could even finish my sentence, I was cut off with a blunt “no.” I totally understand if they can’t do custom mixes, but what really rubbed me the wrong way was the attitude — the person at the window made me feel like I was a huge inconvenience just for being there, even though I approached the interaction with a smile. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time I’ve had this kind of experience at Broncos. I hope they can work on improving the customer service because I want to support local businesses — but for now, I’ll probably go elsewhere. Bonus: I asked for catchup and mustard and didn’t receive any.

Fantastic french fries! The burger was a solid good fast food sandwich as were the fried chicken and tenderloin. All items were fresh and the buns were nicely toasted. The dining area is very retro with four inside tables and smooth vinyl seats that can fill up easily. Eating inside isn't the quietest experience as one is very close the the ordering and cooking areas but it's a nice throwback to another era.

Although the food tasted pretty good, I was a bit horrified upon the opening of my 🍔 & 🍟. The employees at the drive thru were super young, but very nice. 🙂

I would highly recommend this Broncos. The staff is great, work hard on wiping down tables immediately after patrons leave. They had to deal with a very unreasonable customer who clearly parked incorrectly. The staff handled it very well, since the patron was extremely rude.

Pretty disgusting. Third time I'm here for the same meal, a number 2 meal combo. Both burger and fries were completely cold and soaked in the grease they were fried up in from sitting out as long as they did. Beef in the burger is strangely mushy and has no value whatsoever, gross. Only comes with pickles and cheese and for over $13. Won't ever be back

Best Indian restaurant in Omaha, in my humble opinion. What makes them stand out is their attention to detail; they note the origin of various dishes on the menu and prioritize using quality, local ingredients whenever possible. I also really appreciate their non-alcoholic drink options and the variety of vegan & gluten-free menu options. Their menu is concise without feeling limited, and the prices are very reasonable. If I lived closer, I'd be here all the time!

Kinaara was a magnificent experience. We went on a Wednesday evening. I had a reservation to be safe. I split the Thali with my aunt which is a big platter of different dishes so you can try out a bunch of different options. Pictured below but had already eaten one of the chicken legs and some of the other dishes. They only do this on Wednesdays and Thursdays I believe. Our waitress was great at explaining what it all came with and answering questions. My aunt started with a spiced iced tea which she loved. Then we did the thali with an extra order of garlic naan because you can never have too much naan. We really enjoyed everything all the dishes had such vibrant flavor. Loved being able to try different things as well. This is a must stop for anyone who hasn’t tried Indian food, wants to branch out and try new things, or just can’t decide on a dish. Such a great way to experience this cuisine. The vibes are fantastic inside the decor is nice and comfortable. The service was fantastic inside addition to our server being great, someone always was refilling waters, and the chef even stopped by our table and others asking how things were. Pricing was fantastic for the Thali. Definitely will be back again and again.

Cajun Kitchen is a hidden gem that truly embodies the essence of Southern cuisine. Initially discovered as a last-minute option, it quickly became a favorite for its authentic Cajun-style catfish and shrimp dishes. The menu features mouthwatering fried chicken dinners in various sizes, ensuring there's something for everyone to enjoy. Diners rave about the freshness of the food; from crispy onion rings to perfectly cooked fish that never carries an unpleasant odor, every bite is a delight.
Hands down they have the best fish in town. Sides are on the level of ok to trash some days but you will ignore the sides for that fish. They also have a pretty good porkchop platter that is good. They serve deserts like sweet potatoe pie. I still give it 5 stars because of the fish and I've ate at a few places. Update 08/08/2021. Still the best fish place here in the O hands down.

I used to love eating at this place, but it has gone way down hill. I got the catfish nuggets and mac&cheese. The meat doesn't not taste like catfish, it wasn't cooked fully and the mac&cheese taste like it came out of a box, it had no flavor at all I can't even say what kind of cheese was used. Just horrible, I'm disappointed compared to how their food used to be.

The flavor was good but the sides are so small its not worth my time traveling to this location or my money. Bigger sides...easy five stars. Maybe the sides are bigger if you eat inside. Some of the sides seem bigger on the pictures posted. I dont know. I went through the drive thru. Wont be back unfortunately. Not worth it

If you from Omaha and haven't tried this place, im going to give you a min to slap yourself!! I'm working up here from kc and I asked a little homie where is the best spot to get that plate! He said Cajun kitchen, man I had to try it. Got the sample platter with okra that was so fresh and clean tasting!! Them onion rings on point!! Fish hot fresh and clean tasting, none of that burnt oil over cooked over here... saved the best for Last, wings and shrimp on point. I cant say enough about how flavorful this plate was. When im back in the 402. I'll be right back in that line getting another order in!! 💯

Been driving there everyday for the past week and calling. Black pickup parked behind there and nobody answers the phone or takes our order. What's going on?

Delicious Delicious Delicious. The catfish is always fried fresh. Never smells or tastes like "old fish". The sides are okay. But the fish is where it's at

With its charming rustic atmosphere, it offers a unique drinking experience reminiscent of the Wild West.
Good food, decent prices. Liked the hand breaded onion rings. Very little breading, but the onions were well cooked.

Short a cook when we went but staff let everyone know food would be slow coming out. Service was still attentive. Food was well prepared and tasty. Bonus points for using Rotella bread on their "hot" sandwiches. Hot beef is cooked in-house and sliced thin. Was very lean so more bonus points.

Stopped in for a bite to eat at the log cabin. Had the chicken basket and fries. To be honest I could have skipped the chicken and just had them fries really good fries. The chicken on the other had even though a healthy portion was lacking flavor and was just a very simple fried chicken. I seen a few other dishes come out that looked pretty good and the place was packed so that’s a great sign. From today I 100% recommend getting something others than chicken combed with those fries! A great selection of taps so there you go. I recommend you give it a try.
Mike D — Google review
Decent food, great service, and interesting ambiance made for an overall good dining experience. Their onion rings are definitely homemade -- not the kind someone pours out of a frozen bag to heat up. I just wish they had fry sauce to dip into -- had to get by with the ketchup that was on the table. My wife's BLT sandwich was worthy of 5 stars with plenty of bacon and fixings! My Patty Melt was "middle of the road" just ok.

A hidden gem outside of Omaha, NE. Delicious food, servers very attentive, and sports bar atmosphere. First time experience. Food is delish for ‘bar food.’ Chicken was cooked perfectly and moist! I removed bottom bun as it was soggy from all the chicken moisture. Veggies were crisp and fresh! Like a lot of restaurants currently, short staffed. I gave it 4-stars because we waited an extremely long time for two grilled chicken sandwhich and fries. The ladies working we’re doing their best - but everyone had to wait a long time - over an hour from entering to exiting. The to-go order came in after us and left before we even had our food. Everyone is on their lunch hour, and staffing is short, just tell customers as soon as you greet them times will be longer than normal. We would’ve gone somewhere else since we had limited time. Also, we looked online at the menu. Prices need updated (new menu) as they don’t reflect what the actual menu prices are. Will return when we have more time.

My go to dinner place because the location is between me and family. I love the chicken wings appetizer, with a side salad. Their food is always consistent. The wings are always crisp and so yummy. They have so much flavor you don’t even need the sauce. Everything is priced well and the service is great! If you haven’t tried it, grab the family and check it out.

Busy place on a Saturday night, had a really fun vibe! There were families and groups of all ages. They have a pool table and darts, but I can see that area getting crowded pretty easily. Only drawback was they couldn't/wouldn't get the Iowa football game so that was a bummer.

Steak house
Nestled in Waterloo, Farmer Brown's Steak House has been a beloved dining destination since 1964, offering a delightful array of steak, seafood, chicken, and cocktails. This charming establishment embraces a no-frills approach that prioritizes quality food and attentive service over extravagant decor. With an impressive menu featuring mouthwatering options like porterhouse steaks and prime rib au jus, it's no wonder locals flock here for their hearty meals.
I came here with my girlfriend for our early valentines dinner. We showed up ten minutes before open and a line was already forming. The atmosphere is extremely relaxed and old school. No blasting music or obnoxious televisions in the main dining room. This place looks straight out of the 70’s and we loved the vibe. The service was prompt and efficient. We both got prime rib dinners. I did the hired hand and still had a ton to bring home. Everything came out quickly and correctly. The prime rib was 🤌🤌 excellent. Seasoned and tender. Cooked to perfection. The spaghetti sauce was a little too sweet for me and green beans were from a can but for the amount of food we got for the price, we were extremely happy. As someone who has worked in some boujee ass restaurants over the years, it’s nice to come to a casual place with massive portions of good food with no over the top dinner experiences and expensive prices for mediocrity. We will definitely be back!
Sean C — Google review
Prime rib’s legit. Crispy fat cap, pink middle, sliced thick like they actually care. Didn’t need the au jus but used it anyway because that’s the rule. Service was no-nonsense, in a good way. You’re not getting pampered, but you’re not being ignored either. And yeah, they offer spaghetti as a side. No clue why, but I respect it. Must be a Midwest thing. Like someone’s grandma insisted it stay on the menu and nobody questioned it. Tastes exactly how you’d expect, and somehow it works. Five stars. Meat’s solid, vibe’s simple, and you leave full enough to regret dessert. Would absolutely go back.

I really enjoyed this place ! I loved the fact that the waitress where older then 50 and they where doing great, very polite to the busing staff, girls and boys. The busing staff were clearing the table fast and then people got seated fast! Very good experience over all and the locals loved them and are reoccurring customers weekly.

Service is top notch! Plan on being there early, or wait in line. We arrived at 415 on Sunday and were 30 people away from front of line. Steaks were good. We will go back and try prime rib. Steaks needed seasoning and a grill mark. Salad and bread were good. Brownie dessert was good. We will be back.

Took other’s advice and arrived early. Seated right away and service was prompt and friendly. Highly recommend the onion rings! My husband ordered the prime rib and I ordered the jumbo shrimp. Very good! Can’t wait to dine here again when we get back in the Omaha area!

Great service! An excellent variety of comfort foods. Budget at least $30/adult. All tables, no booths. Well lit. Crowded & loud. The bldg and interior are showing it's age.

Wow did they take care of us at Farmer Brown’s, from the time we walked in with a short wait in the bar for a table to open we were treated and served like no other place I can remember. Nestled in the heart of Aksarben/Elmwood since 1965, Tracks Lounge is a beloved establishment that has become synonymous with mouthwatering fried chicken and legendary wings. Co-owner Mark Pogge proudly claims their buffalo-based charred double-dipped garlic parmesan wings are among the best you'll ever taste, and many would agree! The cozy bar is adorned with nostalgic photos celebrating its rich history linked to the old Aksarben horse track, creating an inviting atmosphere for all who visit.
We’re doing a wing weekend and trying different spots and decided to mosey down to 60th St to give them a try after seeing they are opening a location out west. Definitely the best wings of the weekend. We got some cheese curds and bloody Mary’s to start. Both were awesome. Highly recommend them both. Spicy Bloody for the win. Now to the important part- the wings. We tried the triple crown, Thai peanut, bbq, mango habanero, and sweet Thai chili. Triple Crown- hands down best wings of the weekend. It was unanimous between our group of 4, no questions asked. One of the people in our group wished he could get the sauce jarred to take it home to Arizona. Thai peanut- Great flavor but we decided they could use a little more kick. Mango Habanero- Good flavor and definitely some solid heat to go with them. BBQ- Our favorite bbq flavored wing this weekend. This is a sauce done right. It was a kid favorite. Sweet Thai Chili- We liked the thai peanut flavor better overall but they were definitely well received in our group and everyone said they liked them. We gave tracks service and their wings a 9.5/10. The bartender helping our group was awesome and the food was even better. Stupid excited to have them out west. Those Triple Crown Wings…..

We had a good experience at Tracks lounge. The wings are my favorite in town. Specifically the hot buffalo, garlic parm double dipped. They didn't disappoint tonight either. My in laws both got the fried chicken dinner and said it was very good but not "world's best". The cole slaw was a big hit tho. My wife got the burger and tots and said the tots were cooked perfectly and the burger was solid but I have to get her to order the wings next time. The service was nice and decently quick for how many people were in there on a Tuesday evening. Definitely try the wings and enjoy your time at Tracks!
Connor L — Google review
Great wings! I got the mango habanero sauce and was not disappointed. Crispy on the outside, moist and tender on the inside. The fried pickles were top notch. The fried chicken was also delicious. Again, crispy on the outside, moist and tender on the inside. One of the people in our party got a hamburger and said it was "very good". I will definitely come back when we are in Omaha again.

🏈 Tracks Lounge: Flavor, Fun, and Fantastic Vibes 🍗 Stopped by on a whim with friends and left with a new favorite wing spot. The wings were wildly flavorful—unique in the best way, like someone actually cared about the seasoning game. It’s a sports bar, but the food feels like it belongs in a chef’s kitchen. The bartender? Total legend. Funny, welcoming, and clearly proud of the menu. His recommendations were spot-on and made the whole experience feel personal. You don’t always get that kind of energy behind the bar. He will shame you if you order boneless though and rightfully so. 😆 Great food, great people, great atmosphere. I’ll absolutely be back.

Nice little hidden gem. Wings sensational. That charred flavor is incredible. Big meaty wings. Sauce selection unique and delicious. Highly recommend the triple threat sauce. fried Pickles are fire. Blue cheese sauce was kinda mid tbh, but everything else was so good it’s whatever. Highly recommend.

This place has the best bbq wings I had. The bbq sauce was a Guinness infused bbq on the boneless wings. Omg!!! Then there was my boyfriends he had the chard hot wings bone in with a coating of parmesan garlic sauce. Bursting with flavor and we didnt spend more the $30 bucks worth every bit. A full salad and side salad with grilled chicken 20 wings and two drinks for under 30 is crazy work ...will be back

An absolute gem! Casual little 'hole in the wall' with great food and drinks. Play some Keno, watch some sports or just sit and chill. Staff are awesome, super friendly and the kind of people who remember you and your drink. Olivia, Gavin, Leigh and Brooke are always a delight to chat with! I (sadly) can't vouch for the wings as I don't eat meat... But my partner has been coming here for years for wing night and swears they're the best in the city. Despite this still I love tagging along for drinks and appies. Highly recommend!

Had a delicious dinner here tonight. Lexi S, our server, was friendly and attentive. All restaurant staff were quite polite and helpful. Portions were HUGE and the food is very affordable. I had a large bowl of Homemade Chicken Soup, and it was delicious. I can understand why this restaurant has won so many awards!

A few decades ago this place gave me my first job washing dishes. I haven't eaten here since. Our visit home got extended and we were running out of favorite restaurants so we decided to give it a try. 3 out of 3 meals were good, so no complaints on the food. The wait staff was friendly and prompt, they get two thumbs up there. The only reason I didn't go 5 stars was the seating. Maybe it was just our booth, but I'm pretty sure the spring in the seat got to third base with me before the end of the meal. In my opinion spending a few dollars to freshen up the dining room would be money well spent.

Like the fact you are able to order online for curbside pickup. Ordered usually take about half an hour. I have never had to wait any longer than that, at times there will be a few cars ahead of you if waiting to pickup curbside. Staff is always very friendly, helpful and outgoing. Food is always prepared fresh and served hot. Very good portion sizes, even on the appetizers. You will leave satisfied and slowly sinking into that calm food coma.

This was my first time ever dining here. My immediate thought is that I cant eat another bite. What a smorgasbord this place gives you. The service was friendly and attentive. The salad bar was clean and stocked. I like how I can go and make my own salad. The meals were overwhelming with large portions. My hamburger steak went great with the brown gravy. My GF barely touched her penne pasta due to being stuffed from the appetizers and salad bar. However her grilled shrimp were amazing! My only real complaint was the onion rings were a disappointment. They felt rubbery and tasted reheated. The waitress even offered to put them in the oven on broil to zap some life back into them for us. I will definitely skip those next time. I would recommend this place for anyone searching for a down home dining experience within the Omaha city limits.

Went for dinner for the first time. Ordered the shrimp alfredo. Very rich, a little too much garlic, however was still very delicious. We also ordered the salad bar and it was well stocked. Our meals came with bread. We had so much food.
Kim M — Google review
We had two chicken dinners to go. The chicken had no flavor and the meat a curious, slightly mushy texture. The green beans were out of the can, squeaky on the teeth and no spices. The coleslaw was wet but the mashed potatoes and gravy were very good. And one more thing: a wing still had many of its feathers, a bonus we did not expect.

OMG best food I've had in a restaurant in a long time. Well worth the hour drive from Lincoln. Here's a picture of a chicken dinner and some chicken and noodles. Would have loved to try their desserts but no room after all this food, maybe next time.

J. Coco is a contemporary dining room and bar located in a 1925 building with a deck, offering seasonal New American plates. The restaurant's focus on simplicity is evident in dishes like the Croque Garcon and the Wagyu Burger, which features just one additional ingredient besides the patty: special sauce. The restaurant has received positive feedback for its wonderful staff and great dining experience, with careful attention to menu choices and preparation.
Happy hour is amazing! Love Scott the manager!!! Can't go wrong with the food either. The wagyu burger is super good and priced well. So is the shaved prime rib sandwich if your looking for cheaper eats. Their steak is really good and so is the Duck when they have it. Love this place.

We did a dinner in their private dining room. Korean Tacos 3.5 stars An average offering for myself. WIth so many other better options, this is a skip for me. Grilled Octopus 5 stars Not overcooked, with great flavor Lamb Balls 4 stars Good option with a decent lamb flavor. My friend who does not like the flavor of lamb was not happy with it, but if you like lamb this is for you (my friend who loves it gave it 5 stars) I do love lamb, but it just wasn't a top pick here for me. Mushroom Risotto 5 stars Delicious. I love mushrooms and the risotto was nice and creamy. Fried brussel sprouts 4 stars If you like very bursts of flavor, this is it. It was overly salted for me, but I can see other people loving this. Sweet and Creamy Drink 5 stars after adding cream. Also it was only 2.50 NY Strip 4 stars The first one was tough and chewy. My friend who ordered it informed the server. The server brought out a new piece that was much more tender. Lamb Shank 4 stars They didn't have the lamb bone. Solid choice. Lobster bolognese 4 stars It was what you would expect. Nice and creamy. The lobster pieces were prominent as well. There was a little something missing here for me though. It was my friends dish so I didn't have enough to figure it out. Sea bass 4.5 stars Most of this dish was amazing. I wasn't a fan of the vegetable dumplings that were served with it. I didn't eat it (though other people at my table did). The fish itself was 5 stars when paired with the kaiware sprouts. So good. Creme brulee 4 stars Solid great offering Cheesecake 3 stars The texture was off for me on this one. Something chocolate 4 stars (Probably 5 if you love chocolate) This was a better texture than the other cheesecake. I'm not a huge fan of chocolate, but I'd get this before the cheesecake. Bread pudding 5 stars This was a resounding success with the majority voting on this one. Crisp 5 stars Perfectly paired with 2 large scoops of vanilla ice cream Tiramisu 5 stars Loved the presentation of this and it was a very good solid choice. Service was 4 stars. They always resolved everything, but not everything was handled in the most professional manner.

Intimate locals favorite restaurant with a nice variety of dishes. Olive and hummus appetizer was great. Fried olives seemed like something we should try and they were delicious. The calamari wasn’t as successful (slightly undercooked) and bland. The beef tenderloin dinner was terrific. Lovely beef cut on a bed of lobster risotto and a side of broccolini. The small house salad was a good starter and the champagne vinaigrette wasn’t over sweet. My companions enjoyed their meals as well. The strip steak comes with onion ring toppings. The noise level was tremendous and shouting was required. Service was very good. Large wine selection though non alcoholic drink choices are limited to the usual sodas and San Pelligrino water.

Was working next door so stopped in for lunch. Food was a Generous proportion, extremely good, and fairly priced I think. I had the oxtail that they have on special and it was $12 for the giant bowl. Everyone inside was dressed business casual and I made a comment to the waiter that I should come back with a suit on. He replied telling me come one come all they accept everyone how they are. I’ll be bringing my wife back to try some more amazing food

Richie's Chicken & Hamburger is a charming local eatery that captures the essence of classic diner vibes with its eclectic mix of chairs and vibrant burnt orange tables. Adorned with nostalgic photographs of legendary boxers and Nebraska Cornhuskers, along with a quirky 1980s baseball poster, this spot offers more than just ambiance.
The customer service is amazing, Lisa knows everyone by their names and greets everyone. This is a well run old school breakfast place that I would absolutely recommend going to. Please make sure you have cash since they only accept cash or check.

Got our order to go. Food was OK, but not special. Baked pork chops were the daily special with mashed potatoes and corn. There were two small chops about 1/4" thick. Food made to order so don't go if you are in a hurry. Place looks better on the inside than outside, but not upscale. Just a nice neighborhood restaurant.
Jerry P — Google review
This is a small place that must be experienced to be understood. It is really cheap diner food that all around is pretty good, but there are a few things on the menu that are just fantastic. The fried chicken is the best in Omaha. Nobody else comes close. They also have great pancakes and French toast. The pancakes are almost a bit more like crepes. Whenever I go I always get a fried chicken breasts and two pancakes. That being said you have to be in the right mindset when you go. It is a very small restaurant that was built in a laundry mat in the 80s. I don't think it has ever been updated. It looks like it was decorated by an old cat lady. It is an open kitchen so you get to see all the food being prepped which I like, but if you need to take a wee the only bathroom is through the kitchen and it may be a bit awkward. Some people may be put off by these things, but if you hold on you will get the best fried chicken of your life.
Mark D — Google review
I had good service and decent food. Ordered the chicken sandwich with onion rings. Chicken sandwich was on the small side, but the onion rings were good. It's cooked to order so unfortunately had to wait over 20 minutes for the food. Richie's is soon to be closed and torn down so if you you're think of trying it do it soon!

Terrible service and the food was just as bad. Everything on my plate was burnt. The waitress was as rude as I've ever been treated and then she gave my friends back the wrong change. She shorted him ten bucks. When we returned she refused to count her drawer and would not make it right. I wish Richie was still around. It was a great place then. Now it's awful. I'll never return.

I'm going to make this one short and sweet. Place has charm, like you stepped back into the 70s charm, and I wanted to like it. The food, when it came out, was really good. I'd go back if not for the rest of it. We ordered four sandwiches. They lost our ticket. It's not a big place, how do you lose a ticket when there are four tables filled? The cook was apologetic. Our server was nice for most of the time but turned on us at some point. We waited 45 minutes (legit 45 minutes, honest to goodness). I wanted to walk out after half an hour. My kids talked me out of it. Our bill came to a very reasonable 24 bucks or so. I felt they should have just comped the meal after that mix up. I didn't want to argue it, I just wanted to end it. I gave the server $30. Good tip after all that waiting, I thought. But, our server still decided to make a snarky comment about us as we walked out. Something about being rude. No one even got close to being rude and believe me, had I wanted to I would have had a damn good reason to. But, no, I didn't vent my frustration. I kept it inside though I am sure visible from my body language. I won't be back....and I doubt they care.
Lance F — Google review
Stopped by this place because it was close. Ordered a Swiss mushroom burger. This place isn't fast food, nor is it much to look at. BUT, that burger was the best I've had in a long time. It looked like a good half pound beef patty smothered in mushrooms and Swiss cheese. Super moist, didn't need to add any sauce. Staff were very friendly to everyone. I'll definitely return if I'm ever back in the area.
Sonny M — Google review
So disappointed after reading the reviews. Chicken tasted like it was fried in old grease. Potatoes were partial, dry instant flakes. Server walked me to the restroom which meant she had to take me through the kitchen. I gagged at the filth on the floor, the counters, etc. I don't think it had been cleaned in years. I love a hole-in-the-wall greasy spoon, but not this one.

Burning Bridges Food Truck is known for its generously stacked chicken sandwiches, with so much meat that it overflows from the potato bun. Despite the intimidating size, the flavor of their sandwiches is as impressive as their portions. The regular chicken and Nashville hot chicken sandwiches are highly recommended, along with sides like fried pickles and waffle fries. For those with Celiac disease, the food truck offers a safe option by accommodating gluten-free requests and providing a satisfying experience for fried food cravings.
I have been telling my wife how much I want to find a REAL authentic homemade chicken sandwich. Not these other places’ fast food chicken sandwiches. A couple weeks ago I heard about Burning Bridges being awesome. My wife and I had an appointment out in the Oakview area and we stopped in for lunch. Absolutely delicious! Best chicken sandwich in Omaha. I had the standard one and my wife had the hot and spicy. Great food! We will be back.

**New Favorite** They advertise Gluten-free! Walked in to order from the counter, was skeptical! I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich on a gluten-free Bun! It was amazingly scrumptious, crispy, hint of spice & yumminess! Crispy Breaded Chicken that's Gluten-free!!!!!!!!! Others ordered the Korean chicken sandwich & fish sandwich! Also Gluten-free goodness! They must change their menu for season as the cashier told us it was the last day for the fish sandwich. I will be going to their website to see if they post new menu items! They also have burgers! And the Twisted fries were great too. Prices for just the sandwich might be considered high for some people but we think it is SO worth it! You must try! Best sandwich ever!!! Can't wait to go back and try another flavor! 😋

Helloooooo attention everyone: you need this!!!!! Not only is it amazing fried chicken, but it’s GLUTEN FREE fried chicken. It was wonderfully crispy, juicy, flavorful, and tender. The Nashville hot chicken is fried to perfection and mega sauced. Prepared to get messy in the best of ways. They do not skimp on the zesty white sauce- which is a creamy sauce with a hint of horseradish. They use Rotella buns- the regular buns are soft, and the gluten free buns were perfect for this kind of sandwich. It was a solid bun that didn’t crumble or get too soggy. The Nashville flavoring is the perfect level of hot that complements the pickles and zesty sauce well. Don’t forget about the awesome curly fries, gluten free fried pickles, and the homemade ranch. The host was very friendly and the service was quick. 10/10.

Sandwiches were ready really good! Honey mustard sandwich and Nashville hot chicken. Fried pickles were consistently breaded. Yum yum sauce was excellent, on recommendation from staff. Zesty white sauce was really good too! Napkin dispenser and refuse bin needed a little tidiness, otherwise 5 stars across the board!

Very good chicken sandwiches. Honey BBQ was delicious (the one with the purple cabbage on top), and I was told the Nashville Chicken was very good (the other one pictured). Be warned, however, that the chicken patty is large and saucy so the bottom bun may be soggy and the chicken may spill out of the bun a bit. But that makes it worth it. Good chicken, good sauce, good sandwich, good fries. The pickle chips… I guess if they’re your thing, you may like them, but it was my first time trying them, and they didn’t have as much of a pickle crunch as I was expecting and then after eating the sandwich, they just reminded me too much of cooked squash to enjoy. So try at your own risk. It also would have been nice to get more fries for the price, but it wasn’t bad for a local restaurant. Overall very good and I would recommend. I’m not gluten free, but I was impressed that the breading was gluten free (and still tasted good), and they had a gluten-free bun option.

Honestly so excited to try this place as a person who is gluten free! I feel so sad to say that the food fell flat… I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and it was disappointing. The chicken was pretty chewy, the breading however was awesome. The fried pickles were pretty good for the first couple of bites, while the breading was pretty non existent the pickles just turned to mush pretty quick. We also had the double burger which was probably the best thing we ate along with the fries. I think I’m also missing the hype with the zesty white sauce and their version of ranch wasn’t much better… I love the concept of offering gluten free options especially with the hot fried chicken hype but unfortunately this place was a one and done for me.

My wife had been craving fried chicken, but she's gluten free. We were in West Omaha for a date night, and it was a perfect fit. Glad to have tried it. I'd followed for a while on social media before coming and I was happy to see how it went. She really enjoyed it and I did too!

The customer service was great. It was a little more expensive than I thought it was going to be. It had a lot of gluten free options which was great for me. Unfortunately the gluten free fried chicken sandwich doesn’t come with a side but other meals do. I order some fries also you get a good amount however my fries were too hard or crunch. I plan to come back and try something else.

Chicken restaurant
Bird Shack Fried Chicken offers a delightful variety of poultry dishes, including crispy fried chicken sandwiches and tender, juicy pieces with a satisfyingly crispy skin. The menu also features an array of sides such as mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and corn on the cob. Customers praise the generous portions and reasonable prices, along with the excellent quality of the food. The establishment is known for its friendly customer service and delectable offerings that keep patrons coming back for more.
I came here for lunch today. There was quite a bit to choose from. There was chicken, chicken fingers, chicken gizzards, chicken livers, potatoes, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, corn on the cob, biscuits and even apple pies. I got a three piece chicken finger box with a side of taters wedges and a biscuit. The portions given we’re all worth the value spent. Everything was fresh and tasted fantastic. I wouldn’t change a thing. The Bird shack is located inside the speedy mart convenience store gas station. When you walk in hook a sharp right and go all the way to the back and you can’t miss it. Or just follow the yummy scent of chicken. They had other miscellaneous items available like pizza burritos and leftover breakfast items. The staff was really friendly and helpful and they were very prompt to give me excellent customer service. The area was clean and fresh and clutter free. Everyone was talking and seemed very happy to be working there. I’ll definitely be returning.
