When a place is so good that it has a perpetual line, their staff often gets cocky or arrogant, but SUSU's lady at the window is such a sweetheart, taking care of everyone with a beam of glee and ardor. This place takes the cake. They were NOT forthright on their website. Had I known that I'd pay over $200 a night to be directly next to construction, I'd have walked away without question. The hotel staff where kind enough to find me a room prior to check-in time, they told me it was one of the recently renovated rooms and I was excited to see the changes. The room itself looks great! However, it lacked a fridge or mini-bar--there was just a hole for one in the desk. The desk itself had no lighting, making working after hours difficult. The room phone didn't work. The new decor was uncomfortable and useless but looks great. The couch by the window was too narrow and uncomfortable to actually sit on, the desk chair was uncomfortable and there was no cozy reading chair like the old room had. The bathroom had no towel racks to hang a towel on near the sink. The tub was so tiny that the wood bath tray must have been put there as a joke. The room was perfectly clean, well appointed and featured a separate shower and large soaking tub. The bed and furnishings were cozy and comfortable. The staff was friendly, professional, and extremely helpful. The location is excellent, and its located right above a whole foods market making getting snacks, drinks or other necessities convenient--especially if traveling with children or if you prefer to not go out to eat for all meals. My only nits: the low flow toilets are HORRIBLE, you need to flush them multiple times to "finish the job" and even then its unlikely you'll be rewarded with a clean bowl.
