So were expecting much of the same. This is very high end…. And was really lovely-a very different experience to the Gloucester restaurant. The welcoming staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The bar area downstairs is super cool, really beautifully furnished and the bar staff were quick and friendly and made some excellent cocktails. Moving up to the restaurant, it’s all beautifully furnished and feels very high end. The menu is good very small in comparison to Gloucester which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, however when you have such a small menu and two of the mains are not available it becomes a bit restrictive. The price mark is at the high end, £45 for Beef Wellington, £19 for one scallop as a starter - which again isn’t a problem but the service needs to match this, which it didn’t. We had to ask several times for more drinks etc. in Gloucester there’s always someone there to top up your glass, in this restaurant (which as I said is very pricey) we were doing it ourselves. Hopefully this is just teething problems with new staff and new systems etc. The actual food really was delicious. We couldn’t fault it. It was incredible.
