Auckland Art Gallery, also known as Toi o Tamaki, is housed in a stunning 1800s château-style building and features a diverse collection of national and international art, including Maori works. Established in 1888, it was the first permanent art gallery in New Zealand. The gallery's four floors showcase over 15,000 artworks, ranging from traditional Maori paintings to European masterpieces and contemporary pieces by New Zealand artists.
Auckland Art Gallery – Where art breathes and the soul listens Stepping into the Auckland Art Gallery feels like crossing into another realm — from the noise of the city into a sanctuary of silence, color, and emotion. You’re never quite prepared for what happens inside. The walls, lined with works that speak every language of the human heart, seem to whisper stories from other times, other eyes, other worlds. Each gallery is its own universe. From powerful Māori portraits to bold contemporary pieces, everything invites you to look deeper — not just at the art, but within yourself. The building itself is a masterpiece: elegant, open, and light-filled. With soaring wooden columns like trees and rooftops that stretch toward the sky, it feels like a cathedral devoted to creativity. A place to feel, reflect, and be transformed. Because here, you don’t just see art — you experience it. 🎨🖼️✨

A great place to visit. This time round went to the 'A Century of Modern Art'. This was exhibition did cost. Other areas are free for you to wonder. Highly recommend. The gift shop has great gifts. There is also a cafe available. Pictures of the exhibition and other parts of the gallery.

Went to go see the “A century of modern art” and it was amazing. Everything was set up well with each paintings given a description that fits perfectly. Though the layout was a little strange with the room connecting to both left and right rooms, giving it not much of a clear direction to go to next. Other part of the art gallery was great with the huge room being the best, especially the cats (tigers). Definitely should visit at least once especially with different exhibitions on all the time.

Recent visit was for the 'A Century of Modern Art' show, it is much more relaxing and enjoyable to visit on a weekday. The gallery isn't too big meaning you can see everything in one visit. There's a small gallery store with a great selection of goods and a nice cafe on the 2nd floor. It does get confusing to navigate and locate the old/heritage site of the building which contains the gallery's owed pieces. Yearly memberships available, prices have gone up a lot for them. I bought a membership with guest pass, it cost over $150 I believe. In the past I recall it was $120 and it was cheaper before that too. But you have unlimited access to paid shows and membership gives you 10% off at gallery store and cafe.

A lovely visit. The art gallery was vibrant with a family event, Suzi Cato singing, musicians and wonderful art. The Cezanne is magic but there are so many wonderful displays. Lovely cafe as well.
Redcatdrama — Google review
Wonderful museum full of cultural paintings, photographs, and sculptures. Rooms are elegantly designed for maximum appreciation of wonderful artworks. The most memorable for me was the Renaissance room; paintings spanning several metres across hung up high on the walls, it made me appreciate the art so much more. Oh and the coffee was good too, good prices!

We visited this art gallery close to our accommodation.. it’s free but you have to check in your backpack.. it has a ground floor which has the foyer+ gift shop .. the Mezzanine includes an art land for children ( where they can build cities with a special play dough) , a Tread of time with special portraits.. Level 1 has a section with abstract + surrealism paintings , the Robertson gift paintings, abstract that uses geometry, a section has Mãori treasured portraits, a section with some Pablo Picasso paintings then also a new section “ Pop to Present “ will open Nov 8 ..,Level 2 has Louise Bourgeois ( private view of her art + sculptures) , Nakuru “three scenes “ and the members lounge. We spent over 2 hours visiting.. Keep yourself open to different kinds of art!

War memorial
The Auckland War Memorial Museum is a grand Neoclassical building located on the highest point of Auckland Domain. It was built in 1929 as a tribute to New Zealand soldiers who fought in World War I. The museum boasts an extensive collection that spans from the first Polynesian settlers to modern times, showcasing New Zealand's history and natural heritage.
It is also known as Auckland Museum, and is one of New Zealand's most important museums and war memorials. Its neoclassical building constructed in the 1920s and 1950s, stands on Observatory Hill, the site being the remains of a dormant volcano. Museum collections concentrate on New Zealand history (and especially the history of the Auckland Region), natural history, and military history. Its collections are organised into three principal areas: documentary heritage (manuscripts, correspondence and other historical documents in archives, along with pictorial art); the major branches of the natural sciences; and human history (broadly, material culture). Among the areas of significant focus are Māori and Pacific cultures, the human and natural history of the Greater Auckland region, New Zealanders' involvement in global conflicts, and exploration and discovery. Very popular place, lots of tourists and locals. Keep an eye on your valuables. You can get here by public transport or car. We took the car and found it not a problem parking at a paid public car park. Fair bit of walking around this large building under shade. Wear comfy shoes, take water. Toilets available inside the building. Gift/souvenir shop available on site. Fee charged for entry. Book in advance. You can spend several hours here, depending on your interest. Great place for photography.

I would say this museum offers some of the best exhibitions in New Zealand. It features a wonderful collection showcasing Māori art, culture, and New Zealand history- from artefacts, paintings, and carvings to impressive life-sized pieces like the Māori waka (traditional canoe). The museum has also hosted incredible showcases such as the Guo Pei exhibition and, more recently, the DIVA exhibition in collaboration with the V&A in the UK. I travelled all the way from Wellington just to see DIVA! Tickets are reasonably priced (around $25) and include headsets, which is a great touch. The building itself is beautifully designed with sweeping ceilings and a bright, welcoming foyer that houses a café, restaurant, ticket counter, and access to toilets, a drinking fountain, and exhibition spaces. The layout is accessible and easy to navigate, and the facilities (including the toilets) are clean and well maintained. There’s also two floors of undercover parking located downstairs, accessible via lift. Parking payment is made at kiosks by card.

I highly recommend the Māori experience! It’s not a show but a sharing of culture. So don’t expect a long form of entertainment. I really enjoyed being part of it and being able to ask questions afterwards. The museum itself had a lot of items from many different wars and countries! It was interesting to see whole fighter planes up close! I’m only a bit disappointed that the main Māori exhibit is closed at the moment but it was definitely an informative time!
K W — Google review
They discounted my ticket because so many exhibits were closed but I was still disappointed. I really went out of my way to get here from the cbd and there were only a couple of interesting exhibits. Further, I went here on a weekend and experienced a lot of small children screaming and running around. I believe because admission is free for locals and parents were looking for a way to occupy their children. I enjoyed the war memorial exhibition, but was disappointed parents didn’t explain to their children that the exhibit deserved a little respect. I would recommend avoiding this museum when children are not in school.
Jennifer F — Google review
A well planned out museum for both young and old. The history of New Zealand's people both first nation and the rest are presented to us both visually and physically in items of historic value. Parking is limited especially during school holidays, weekends and public holidays. Excellent 👍 👌
Edward R — Google review
The views of the city from the outside of its building are breathtaking.. inside there is the ground level, level 1 and level 2 to visit. There is an entrance fee, at this moment, the fee has been reduced to $27 due to renovations in progress...Level 1 has a volcano display but their room of a volcano erupting simulation is so magnificently done ..a section of Mãori Natural History facts + display...many more. ... Level 2 is all about War and Remembrance with sections including New Zealand at War, Spitfire, WWI hall of memories, WW2 onwards,, WW2 hall of memories, and many more sections to visit.. All and All, we spent over 4 1/2 hours visiting and we still didn't see all completely.. this museum surpassed my expectations.. I wish they had possibilities of going a second day to fully visit the rest even if they charged a little more....it's a must to see ..
Monique B — Google review
The Auckland War Menorial and Museum is a must see for all tourists. I'm an Aussie living in Canberra who has free access to the Australian War Memorial (just so you understand where I'm coming from). The War Memorial is much smaller than our Memorial but still has a significant amount of content. The real sell here is that you also get 2 floors of content to view through the museum!! Loved the eruption simulation and was thoroughly impressed with the Moa information. Please spend 6+ hours here. They have food and drink for a stop. Only downside is probably a comment on 'kids these days'. There was a bunch of 15ish year old school kids there and one of them did the Nazi Salute in the WW2 section. Guess that means these school kids need introductions to WW2 history sooner!
Jake E — Google review
What an outstanding museum! The style of the building is gorgeous. Inside you are presented with a variety of areas related to New Zealand culture and history. At the time of my visit in late August 2025 , plenty of areas were closed off hopefully by my next visit, they will be open. The highlight for me was the World War level and everything related to our past. Would recommend to anyone who can appreciate NZ history! Also note the statue of Zealandia 🤍 If visiting, you should consider a donation. Entry is free for residents of NZ with proof of identity.

Nestled in the lively Viaduct Basin of Auckland, the New Zealand Maritime Museum Hui Te Ananui A Tangaroa offers an immersive journey into the rich maritime heritage of Aotearoa. This captivating museum showcases a diverse collection that chronicles New Zealand's deep-rooted connection with the sea, from ancient Pacific migrations to contemporary yachting innovations like those seen in the America's Cup.
We had been here several times to visit the museum but Today it's our first time to book for the sailing. Even if it's winter time it's still beautiful sailing out in the harbour for an hour. Crew are all awesome. No waiting time. I did book online so it's easier for us to just show our tickets. We did enjoy an hour of sailing. Surely we will be back by summer time. I highly recommend Maritime Museum Auckland to keep kids busy during school holidays. You can stroll at the museum after sailing which is nice with an interactive boat on display in the corridor. My child loves playing on it.
Nars C — Google review
What a fabulous way to spend the day, wet or fine, the volunteers are super friendly knowledgeable and helpful. Now the displays physical and graphic are absolutely first class as are the theatre’s short films, Peter Blake especially good! All the exhibits are neat, and clean as are facilities, souvenir shop has some interesting items at reasonable prices. Of very special interest, ETHEL after a lot of hard toil by dedicated yaghtsmen Kevin & John to restore her from her depths of despair as a site seeing black fake PIRATE SHIP prior to total refit and refurbishment by the team! I would absolutely recommend not missing this well orchestrated easy to manage super interesting attraction to all discerning visitors and residents of Auckland city New Zealand! Arthur C. CHARLTON west AUCKLAND N.Z.

A fantastic way to spend a day! This museum tells the story of New Zealand's rich history and relationship with the sea, from Maori canoes to yachties to the merchant navy and their successful challenges to the America's Cup! I'd recommend a sailing around the harbour if you can, the volunteers who run the ships are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, really adding to the experience.
David J — Google review
This is a remarkable museum focused on the maritime history of New Zealand, including sections on the long-distance migrations among the South Pacific Islands, European journeys to the region, coastal shipping during 19th century industrialization, the ocean as a resource for the Maori, and innovations that arise from NZ's participation in the America's Cup. It's a rich set of collections in a quay-side location with attractive views of the harbor
Robert C — Google review
A place to learn the early times of Maori sailing experiences & the migrations. There are canoes which were used and means used for whaling. You can also go for a heritage sailing vessel experience. All the exhibits have been placed carefully with enough information regarding them.
Bindya B — Google review
We booked the Ted Ashby sailing boat to try the experience and then walked around the museum afterward. The lady at reception was very kind and welcoming to both me and my daughter. She was friendly and made my daughter feel happy and special as a young visitor. However, during the boat trip, we felt like strangers—possibly because we were Arab international visitors. While we understand that we were new faces, we had hoped for a warmer and more inclusive atmosphere. Unfortunately, the uncomfortable feeling made me wish the trip would end before the scheduled time. I recommend that anyone planning to try the sailing boat bring some tea or coffee, a few snacks, and small games or activities for the kids, as the ride can get a bit boring—especially for younger children. The museum itself was informative, well-organized, and peaceful. The coffee shop was also nice, and the lovely lady working there was truly the highlight of the entire visit.
Bayan D — Google review
We have been to Maritime museums almost everywhere we go and truly this was one of the best! It not only showed the boats of the Maori but the history of the people as well. We found it to be very interesting. We took the free tour which was incredibly informative. I highly recommend visiting this museum when you are in Auckland.

MOTAT Museum of Transport and Technology is a sprawling 40-acre site in Auckland, New Zealand, featuring interactive zones and exhibits that showcase the country's history of innovation. Divided into two locations connected by a heritage tram, it houses an array of items including original 1877 pump house and Kiwi cars. The Great North Road location boasts a diverse collection of fire engines and vintage posters advertising rail travel in New Zealand.
While the first few halls were a bit boring, the Science and Technology Centre (hall 5) was really entertaining to both kids and adults. I was particularly impressed by the periodical table that lights up. The kids had so much fun charging the battery to unleash on that skewer of balls. The slide between the levels provided hours of entertainment. The food was surprisingly decent. The pies were solid and the smoked salmon bagel was better than the one I had at Best Ugly Bagels.
Brian L — Google review
Very good place for the family to spend the day. Plenty of parking and some great activities including the tram ride between the MOTAT locations. The aircraft in the hangers are wonderful as well as the steam pumping stations. There is even some old cars and a R100 rotary Mazda engined car for the lads.
Joe N — Google review
It was pretty good, it opens all year long except on Christmas Day. On that day there were ambulances there for people to explore the insides of the ambulances 🚑, also to experience CPR on plastics figures. We then explored the Science and Technology Centre, it was very nice and fun 🤩. We also rode the train to the Aviation Hall where there were lots of fun games to play. It was Fabulous day!!!
Nina Z — Google review
The aviation section is fantastic, the aircraft are in great shape and Preston an excellent environment with knowledgeable staff. The other section on cars, communication, etc is a bit more basic and more tailored to kids and school groups.
Mark F — Google review
After not having been there for over 40 years I was very disappointed. The Automotive side of things was all but nonexistent. The old buses and machines all gone except for one trolley bus . The science centre was interesting but it wasn’t if you know what I mean. The only up side was the aviation centre. 10 out of 10 for that.
Gary B — Google review
We had a brilliant time at MOTAT with our toddler — it’s one of the few spots in Auckland that truly caters for curious little explorers and keeps adults interested too. There’s a lot more than just old trains and planes here (though those are great too). The exhibitions rotate regularly — during our visit there was an interactive light and sound room, a science corner with bubbles and levers, and a hands-on play space that had our little one zooming around for ages. The aviation hall (MOTAT 2) has life-size aircrafts you can walk beneath — very cool, and surprisingly calming inside. TIP: Don’t miss the heritage tram ride! It runs between the two main MOTAT sites and was an unexpected hit with our toddler. You can hop on and off with your entry ticket. Also, check the website to see if it’s a live steam train day — it’s a huge drawcard and adds a whole extra layer of fun (and noise!) to the day. Parking was easy and free, and there’s a decent café with high chairs and lots of space for prams. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. MOTAT is one of the best toddler-friendly attractions in Auckland, and there’s always something new to see. Perfect for a few hours or a full day out.
Elena S — Google review
Excellent museum we particularly liked the aviation section. Our visit to the technology part was spoiled by unruly school children running around with little supervision by their teachers.
Bob H — Google review
Wow! So welcoming for both nerdy engineer parent and little infants. Some interesting and diverse exhibits, enjoyed the trams and the VR experience. The air museum sections parenting room was palatial and incredibly well kitted out. Staff were super friendly! And the soft play room was fun for all ages under 5. Highly recommended.

The Sky Tower is a 60-storey landmark in Auckland, New Zealand, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city. It stands at 328 meters high, making it the tallest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. Visitors can reach the observation deck via a glass elevator and capture stunning city panoramas that extend up to 80 kilometers on clear days.
This is an absolute must-see attraction and should definitely be on your list when visiting Auckland, New Zealand. The entry ticket (NZD $47) is well worth it, as it gives you access to a spectacular panoramic view of the Auckland CBD, the harbour, and even the distant suburbs. I recommend visiting on weekdays if possible to avoid the crowds, and be sure to check the weather before going so you can make the most of the views. Don’t miss the Sky View Observation Deck and Café — it’s a great spot to sit back, enjoy a coffee or a couple of drinks, and take in the stunning city skyline from above. A fantastic experience overall, and one of the best ways to see Auckland from a whole new perspective.

Sky Tower (part of the SkyCity Auckland complex) • Height: 328 metres from ground level to the top of the mast. • Location: Corner of Victoria Street West & Federal Street, Auckland CBD. • Opened: 1997. ⸻ What You Can Do / See • Observation Decks: There are multiple levels you can go up to for views. You can see up to ~ 80 km in good weather, including volcanoes, harbour, city skyline etc. • Orbit 360° Dining Restaurant: A revolving restaurant located near the top — dining with panoramic views as the restaurant rotates. • SkyBar: A bar high up in the tower with expansive views. • SkyWalk & SkyJump: • SkyWalk — walk around the exterior of the tower at height, harnessed. • SkyJump — a controlled “jump”/plunge off the tower from a height (for the thrill-seekers). • Gift shop, cafes, and casual dining, including Sky Cafe. ⸻ Structure & Design • Built with high-performance reinforced concrete shaft (about 12m diameter) with support from piles, and with a steel mast at top. • It’s designed for safety: wind resistance (can sway in strong winds), seismic design to withstand significant earthquakes, fire safety features, etc. ⸻ Hours & Tickets • Opening hours: The Sky Tower is open daily, from morning (around 9:30 am) until evening/night (hours depend on the day & season). • Last entry times vary with season. • Admission fees: There is an entry fee for the observation decks. The cost depends on which deck, whether you want to add things like SkyWalk or SkyJump. • Booking: Better to buy tickets in advance online to secure times and sometimes get discounts. ⸻ Why It’s Worth Visiting • It’s an iconic Auckland landmark — visible from many parts of the city, a symbol of Auckland. • Unmatched 360-degree views of the city, harbour, islands, volcano cones etc. • Combination of experiences: you can just enjoy the view, or add excitement with SkyJump / SkyWalk, or dining high up. Gives options depending on how adventurous or relaxed you’re feeling. • Great at sunset or at night for city lights.
Malik S — Google review
In cities that have a big tower like this it's almost always worthwhile to go up and check out the view. This tower has two levels of observation and one level for dining and bungee jumping. There may be other levels but there were some renovations happening at the time of writing. I'm sure this could be made into a much bigger activity by dining here during the sunset or jumping off (a desire I'll never understand) but just as a casual place to spend some time between outings in Auckland it's pretty great.

Went here with my family for dinner, the view is amazing! The tower actually rotates slowly as you eat so you get to see the full 360° view of Auckland. No wonder it's called 360° orbit! The food is also quite good, it was a 3 course meal and there was quite a few options for appetizers, main and dessert. Their drinks is good too, they have many different cocktail to try and a special few for each month! For appetizers, i chose the salmon, my mother choose the king prawns and my father chose the lamb. For main course, i chose the snapper fish and parents also chose the snapper as they can't eat beef. For desserts, i chose the blueberry crumble, my mother chose the chocolate mouse and my father chose the mango mandarin Overall, it was such a good experience to be able to see the sky slowly turn dark as we eat and see across the whole of Auckland. We spotted the bridge across the sea as well as many other different buildings. Highly recommend if you're into fine dinning and beautiful views!!

So worth the money to visit the lookout! A bit scary at first but well worth the beautiful view. We really love that there’s also a sit down option where you can enjoy the view and some good kai. There’s also ice cream and coffee at one of the lookouts.
Ms B — Google review
Very good 360 views from 3 observation decks in the heart of Auckland. Usual stuff of a pricey fake photo, overpriced drinks etc but if you forget all that and admire the views you’ll have a decent hour or so. If you are lucky you might catch some people doing the sky jump off of the side.
Shaun L — Google review
Absolutely outstanding! Take a spare top if you sweat when you're scared 🤣 the views are stunning, staff are really nice and the opportunity to do something out of your comfort zone is pretty easy. Well worth the money
Jade S — Google review
From the outside it didnt seem like it was going to be interesting- but once inside it was amazing! Especially when we got to see the window cleaners in action and also people walking around the edges and someone did a sky jump! Also, loved that the loft had a window down and also the observation walk! Great experience!

Auckland Zoo, New Zealand's largest zoo, is home to over 130 species and nearly 900 animals across a variety of exhibits. Situated conveniently in the heart of the city, it offers visitors the opportunity to embark on a global tour through diverse habitats in just a few hours. Celebrating its centenary, the zoo has recently undergone an impressive transformation and welcomed new residents such as Sumatran tigers and Sunda gharial crocodiles.
Excellent zoo - Book the tour! The zoo is very well maintained and the animals look healthy and happy and have an option to remove themselves from display if desired. However, I saw almost every animal the morning I visited. (the lions were off display due to enclosure maintenance). The keeper talks were a highlight, and I got to see the porcupines fed up close. As they are generally nocturnal, this is your best option to get a glimpse of them as they sleep the rest of the day. The zoo is sectioned into five separate loops making navigation very easy. There’s also a lot of places to eat and drink and bathrooms along the way. I booked the tour and was delighted with the quality of the guide. They were extremely knowledgeable and personable. Not only did I learn a lot but I was able to see a lot more of New Zealand native animals, flora and culture because the guide pointed it all out. There is a lovely gift shop at the entrance/exit. I found some nice quality items for gifts and some great native guidebooks for myself. I believe you can hire strollers and umbrellas and things like that there too. Also, getting an Uber just outside was extremely easy. Allow around three hours minimum to see everything comfortably.

Such a fun place to go as a family. The dinosaur area is so cool! Ice cream and coffee isn't stupidly overpriced. Would definitely recommend! We went on a Friday which was a lot nicer as there weren't big crowds.

I really enjoy this zoo. It sets an entirely new standard and I feel like I could spend forever there. The new do up is gorgeous, especially for the Tigers, Gharial and NZ Bird Aviaries. I love that the enclosures are all so spacious and that the animals are able to have space away from visitors if they want it. Sea krait is awesome too, hopefully in time it will also get a nice enclosure upgrade.

Mum of under 3, we go almost every week ! We love Auckland zoo 🫶🏻. We have the annual pass and go through the zoo slowly though my toddler has other ideas (aka running !) it's such a great open space for them to run around to burn the energy. Recommend going in the weekday, although there can be lots of school kids during these times. Weekdays do get pretty busy and I would have to park in the outer parking lot. Weekdays are easier to get tickets but it's a lot easier if you buy tickets online so you can just go into the zoo. Don't forget to take a picture with the elephant !
Sisyl — Google review
Incredibly impressed by how happy and content almost every animal was. I am used to seeing stressed animals pacing back and forth, but most of the animals were happily resting or interacting with their environment. There is a lot of renovations currently happening to improve the zoo so we did not get to see everything, but it was a wonderful place to go. I only wish I could know more about the individual animals, lots of staff around but it is a large sprawling area so hard to always find someone who knows about the animals
Rebekah S — Google review
I hadn't been to the zoo for about 10 years, but I was very impressed with the changes that have happened over that time. It has wonderful enclosures for the animals, showing off animals from around the world and here in Aotearoa, and if utilizes it's space very well. A great place to take the family. The only hassle was car parking which, unless you get there early, will see you parking on the streets surrounding it.

Fantastic afternoon at the Zoo. Oh my goodness I saw a kiwi. It was unreal. The 🦩 flamingos were so funny, the giraffes and zebra. Great staff. Parking is tight. Lovely laid out area. The cafe was great. I bought a hat and little kiwi from the shop. Fabulous.
Lancia — Google review
You can tell all the animals are well taken care of. Their enclosures are spacious and well maintained. Lots of animals from different parts of the world. They also have cafes and resting stations all over the place to take a break. The highlight of my visit was the Kea, it got really up close! I’m glad to know some animals were trying to have babies 😍 $30 on a peak day is not so bad because it goes to the animals. This is the least we could do for them. Last time I went here was in 2018 and they did upgrade! It was amazing to see a Kiwi too! I can finally say I saw one 🤩

SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton's Aquarium is a renowned Auckland attraction that offers an immersive experience into aquatic life. Opened in 1985 by New Zealand underwater adventurer Kelly Tarlton, the aquarium features unique curved tunnels and conveyor belts for visitors to explore marine habitats. From King and Gentoo penguins to sharks, turtles, stingrays, seahorses, and various fish species, the aquarium houses thousands of marine animals in custom-made habitats.
It is a popular public aquarium opened in 1985 in Auckland, New Zealand at 23 Tamaki Drive. Using disused sewage storage tanks, the aquarium used a new form of acrylic shaping, which allowed curved tunnels rather than viewing areas with flat panels only. They also used moving walkways for people to travel slowly through the viewing areas. Aquarium's main features are the Antarctic Encounter and the Underwater World, but it also includes several other exhibits and education rooms. Very popular place, lots of tourists and locals. Toilets available. Restaurant available on site. Easy terrain, lot of easy walking. Friendly staff and great service. We visited on a weekday. Advise buying tickets ahead online. Beautiful place. Lots to see. Lots of parking available but gets crowded at peak times. Better go there early. Great place for photography. Gift/souvenir shop available on site.

We had my daughters birthday party here and hired the room which worked out to be more affordable and we were able to invite more guests. We were allowed to do our own catering which made it even better and the tour guide was amazing. Even though we were late staff were great and polite and friendly. We felt right at home. the kids loved it! The parents loved it too! So worth it.

SEA LIFE is a wonderful place to explore and learn about marine life. The aquarium is beautifully designed, clean, and very well maintained. From colourful fish to giant stingrays, penguins, and sharks swimming right above you — every moment feels magical! It’s a great place for both kids and adults, with lots of interesting displays and educational information. The penguin encounter and underwater tunnel are definitely the highlights. Staff are friendly and helpful, making the visit even more enjoyable. A must-visit attraction in Auckland for anyone who loves sea creatures and ocean adventures! 🌊🐧🐠

The aquarium overall was a pretty good experience. Great place if you love seeing penguins, turtles, sharks, jelly fish and other sea life creatures. Compared to other Sea Life we’ve been, it is smaller but it’s still a fun activity.

Best aquarium to be in! Clean out space lots of species found in aquatic animals. Best is to watch jelly fishes, nemo, dory fish, turtles, sharks underwater tunnel. Would highly recommend to visit this aquarium. Clean, hygienic, safe, food availability, washrooms facility available, lovely watching had good time been here. Totally worth it loved it ! Only if they could keep good clean space for penguins that would be great!

We enjoyed our time at the aquarium. It does get busy but we went early so it was not that busy. The "moving bridge" was awesome and the Penguins stole the show. The Jellyfish was beautiful and the underwater experience was amazing. My daughter enjoyed the VR experience as well.
Anthea A — Google review
Interesting place with a good variety of sea life. Enjoyed the Scott's Antarctic displays as well. It was a wet day so good to be out of the rain. Did the VR experience which was fun. Spent 8 minutes "swimming" with sharks. Another person in our group did the humpback whale experience. Manta rays was also available but no one chose it so can't comment. We all enjoyed the ones we saw. The only issue on the day was the car park is very small which was full when we got there and so had to drive out again and find limited street parking available. Ended up about 300m or so away. Not too bad but was pouring down when we got out. ☔️😠

My teenage daughter, and I, really enjoyed our visit to Kelly Tarlton's Aquarium. We especially loved seeing the penguins, and the jellyfish move so gracefully! We also enjoyed the shipwreck virtual reality experience. The stingray which swam overhead in the water tunnel were huge! I very much enjoyed reading the info about Kelly Tarlton

Rangitoto Island, a beloved day trip destination for Aucklanders, is rich in natural and cultural history. It boasts the world's largest forest of crimson-flowered pohutukawa trees and holds international significance as one of the few places where all stages of volcanic life establishment are visible. The island, just a short ferry ride from Auckland, offers stunning walks with panoramic views of the cityscape.
It's a great day trip. My advice is to hike up to the summit 1st, up the shaded path... then to the beach, then back to ferry. Warning if it is hot, it will be VERY hot on Wangitoto. Bring water and a hat, sunscreen. The trek from the beach to ferry is 1.5 hours on black lava rock. Although it is along the ocean, it was VERY hot to walk it. Bring a bathing suit to swim at the beach for a break in the heat. This is not an easy day due to heat and hike. At least moderate fitness and you will be fine with water, snacks and breaks.
Susan H — Google review
This trail is beginner friendly and it’s easy to hike up the summit. Don’t miss exploring the Lava Cave - just bring a torch as it’s pitch black inside! Overall the hike took us 4hrs and about 20k steps. Make sure to bring your own food and drink as they don’t have commercial cafes/restaurants in the area. The ferry going to Rangitoto has a mini cafe that makes good coffee too.
R.C. M — Google review
A fantastic hike through beautiful native forest — truly felt immersed in nature. The trail was enjoyable from start to finish, offering peaceful surroundings and scenic views. A must-do experience in Auckland!
Gopal D — Google review
Memorable and beautiful experience. Pricey boat ride, but so worth it. My almost five year old did the whole hike to the top and back.
Monika B — Google review
We walked through old lava flows, explored some caves, and saw beautiful views of the ocean, green plants, and black rocks. It was an awesome place!
Maria P — Google review
Great hiking routes, some dangerous for the elderly. The black lava terrain against lush deep green makes for a beautiful contrast. Hiking can get long so use a map or google maps. Drop pins as you go at landmarks. Can be covered in 4 hrs but then there is a joint island so choose your departure time according to your plan. Bring water, coffee in a flask, dry snacks and wet wipes. No stores there, toilets are scarce, and no litter law, so be respectful of the rules and environment.
Rabeah A — Google review
Very beginner friendly walks, no hiking experience needed. View from the top was nice, and there’s a few other little detours that you can take (lava caves were a good one).
Isabella P — Google review
Worth doing if you like walking. The walk up to the summit is a nice track and is in good condition. It is not too difficult We arrived on the 10am ferry and left on the 3:30pm, and that was a perfect amount of time to go to the top, visit the caves and also to visit the beach.

Step into the past at Howick Historical Village, a meticulously recreated colonial settlement in East Auckland. This village takes visitors back to 1847 when retired soldiers known as 'fencibles' arrived in New Zealand. The village offers an immersive experience with period clothing, historic artifacts, and authentic buildings including schools and stores. It's also famous for being featured in popular New Zealand YouTube channels.
It is a historical park with large and small houses in a large garden that arouses children's curiosity. There is a cafe and a souvenir shop at the entrance, and the parking lot was not crowded. There is a children's playground and various sports clubs nearby. It was a pity that we could not see everything because it closed at 4pm, perhaps because we visited on a public holiday. However, the children were able to play to their heart's content in the children's playground, which was very nice.

Much much appreciated!

Enjoyed our free carving workshop hosted by Matua Calvin Taneora and Whaea Roimata. The experience was fun, culturally enriching and well resourced. A huge thanks to both of them for creating a safe and delightful space to be creative. I attended with my son and two nieces, but will promote this particular event to my wider networks and community. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we also ventured out to the cafe. The food and service is also good. It a so good to see many ethnicities at the workshop. Great job Howick historical village for hosting a Māori and Pacific event

They change their exhibits and installations often, to make every visit fresh and interesting. Your personal taste will inform the visit. Some contemporary installation are brilliantly inspired and inspiring, and showcases local New Zealand history and artists. Although I could appreciate the passion and effort that went into creating those works of art, I just didn't "get" some of the pieces. The building itself is an architectural marvel. Last night we went to Stardrome in Auckland and it was an unforgettable experience! We watched an incredible Queen band show on the big screen , After the show, the staff gave us extra activities, including a chance to use the big telescope to see a star up close. It was such a magical and inspiring moment! This place is also really great for the younger generation. It’s not just entertaining — it sparks curiosity about the universe and space. The combination of fun shows, interactive exhibits, and real stargazing opportunities makes learning exciting and memorable. It’s the perfect place to inspire kids, teens, and even adults to explore science and the wonders of the cosmos. Highly recommended for families and anyone interested in space or astronomy!

Amazing Experience at the Stardome! I recently visited the Stardome and had an absolutely amazing experience. The lecturer was not only knowledgeable but also had a great sense of humor, which made the session both educational and entertaining. The supporting video presentation was well-made and pleasant to watch, perfectly complementing the lecture. One of the highlights of the evening was the opportunity to view real stars and the moon through telescopes set up by enthusiastic volunteers. It was a fantastic bonus that made the night even more memorable. A big thank you to the team and volunteers at the Stardome - highly recommended for anyone curious about space or just looking for a unique and inspiring night out!

Diane M — Google review
For all of history, humans have gazed up into the sky and felt a connection to the countless stars glimmering overhead. These distant suns have inspired our imagination, mythology, science and technology for millennia. Stars have fuelled exploration across the planet and guided journeys into space. As humanity reaches for the stars into the future, we continue an ancient relationship with the cosmos. Many years ago people believed that the earth was flat. But through careful observation a Greek mathematician named Eratosthenes calculated the circumference of the planet with remarkable accuracy around 240BC. He is credited as "the Greek who proved the earth was round." Mysteries surrounding the origin of the universe have captivated our minds for ages, sparking contemplation and curiosity. In the 1920s Edwin Hubbles groundbreaking discovery of an expanding universe laid the groundwork for the "Big Bang Theory," when an infinitely dense fireball, known as a "singularity," exploded 13.8 million years ago and marks the beginning of space, time and matter. As space expanded and cooled down over time galaxies, stars and planets formed. In the 1980s Alan Guth proposed the "Cosmic Inflation Theory" Guth's theory is consistent with observable scientific evidence. It resolves several enduring cosmological mysteries, including the horizon problem and flatness problem. The most surprising thing is the scale of the universe which is impossible to comprehend or imagine. The most distant objects in the universe are 47 billion light years away, therefore the size of the observable universe is 94 billion light years in diameter. This is the distance light has travelled since the "Big Bang" about 13.8 billion years ago. There are 2 trillion galaxies in the universe that we can see and each galaxy has around 400 billion stars. In our own Milky Way Galaxy, it would take 100,000 light years to cross from one side to the other. We can only see 5% of universe which is ordinary matter. The other 95% is invisible. 27% is dark matter and 68% is dark energy. It is generally agreed that the cornerstone of the laws of physics are Isaac Newtons, laws of motion and gravitation 1687, and Albert Einsteins, special theory of relativity 1905 and general theory of relativity 1915. Albert Einstein was working on a unified field theory when he died in 1955. He was trying to tie together his theory of general relativity and quantum mechanics..This theory was an attempt to explain all of physics forces as a single principle. One solution to this was the "String Theory" first proposed by Gabriele Veneziano in 1968, which combines the two theories by assuming that there are multiple universes and dimensions beyond the ones we know. "Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions."-Albert Einstein

The gallery's sumptuous octagon-shaped auditorium is lovely, right across from Pakuranga plaza.
The best venue for kids birthday parties! We had booked their auditorium for our daughters first birthday party and the whole process from start to finish was seemless. We dealt with Taarn initially for the booking etc and on the day, Jing was at the reception. They were both so accommodating and great! Couldn't recommend them enough. Thw space itself is large so we were able to fit a big bouncy castle and the kids had ample play area ro run and use their ride ons. Comes with tables, chairs, kitchen - everything you need.

Well I am biased, but this is one of the exciting public non commercial galleries in Auckland. If your thing is contemporary Art, check out the website and get yourself there one of the best galleries in Auckland that you need to visit. It commissions and it curates plus it has offsite spaces, the Parnell train station. You have to visit if you’re coming to Auckland.

I Quite enjoyed the art displays, I went as part of a Primary school trip. The kids were able to do some paintings, they reviewed and interpreted a story with visual and audio performances. Got a better understanding of the displays on that day. I think they learnt an immense amount. Be good for children of all ages.

Giapo, located on Queen Street, is not your average ice cream parlour. It offers a modern twist on traditional and adventurous flavors of handmade ice cream, gelato, and sorbet. The brainchild of Head Chef Gianpaolo Grazioli, Giapo has evolved from a colorful dessert store into an ultra-luxurious eatery that serves premium and creative fusions of innovative flavors and toppings.
Best ice cream in New Zealand. Get the chocolate coated cone if you are a chocolate lover and you will be blown away. I had the white chocolate with hazelnuts and it really was a decadent experience. Large bench outside for you to enjoy your dessert

The ice cream here is very delicious. There are a sample the flavors before choosing, The ice cream was yummm but a bit sweet in some flavors. Must try when you come to Auckland🍦
Belle B — Google review
Was initially shocked at the prices of their specialty cones but now that I’ve tasted the quality I think it would be worth the splurge if you were sharing. The service was amazing. The lady was very patient with me when I tried a few flavours. I treated myself to a large cup with 3 flavours as they were just soooo good!! The kumera (and orange?) one was the highlight. I recon it might just be the best ice cream I’ve ever had (I’ve had a lot haha) Will definitely be back!!! See picture; Top left- kumera and orange i believe Top right- their homemade version of kinder Bueno Bottom middle- mascarpone and Nutella Also it’s ALL GLUTEN FREE This doesn’t apply to me but I thought that was really cool. Definitely doesn’t affect quality/flavour
Lilly R — Google review
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Lots of flavours to choose from and you get to taste them before you commit. The gelato was tasty but on the sweeter side. The cone was unique, very crispy and had a nice warm, nutty, malty flavour. Very nice space to sit and chill with yummy desserts.

Tried first time at the Diwali Event on Queen’s street. Highly recommended 😋😋 Rasmalai and Mascarpone ice cream = pure bliss! 🤩🥰 Already craving more! 😋 5 stars!
Shubham K — Google review
Delicious ice cream, served in cups or fanciful cones, along with a few bakery items, in a dedicated gluten-free facility, so perfect for people who have Celiac. The seating is tight, and pigeons hunt for scraps, but there are water spray bottles to ward off the pigeons if necessary (not an issue while we were there). A regular sized cup with two flavors was NZD $9.50 when we visited on a weekend in October 2025. The Waitemata (aka Britomart) Station is a couple of blocks away, so if you drive you might want to park in their car park, since there isn't much parking on the busy city street where the ice cream shop is located.
Steve S — Google review
It’s great that they are a dedicated Gluten Free establishment. We didn’t know that going in and were very happy to get some baked goods along with the ice cream. It’s a bit pricey but was tasty. I wish the Hokey Pokey had a bit more crunchy bits but the mascarpone one was very good. So good I forgot to take a picture.
K W — Google review
Giapo is an experience! They have wide variety of ice cream flavors. Its my first time in Auckland of course I had to get the World Famous Hokey Pokey. Guess what? It did not disappoint! Its world famous for a reason! If you’re unsure what to get, they’ll let you try any flavor, just ask! There were types of cones you can choose from which they make for you upon ordering. You just have to wait for at least 5 minutes (depends on the line of course). I got my hokey pokey ice cream partnered with a warm brookie ❤️ it was so good! Its something I’ll miss! Looking forward now to my next visit to Auckland!

Auckland Domain is a popular city park that features museums, memorials, and the remnants of Pukekawa volcano. It's an ideal escape for those in Central Auckland, offering a serene retreat amidst the bustling urban environment. The park boasts tree-lined paths, water features, and peaceful flower beds. Visitors can enjoy activities like visiting the museum, exploring the Winter Gardens, or simply strolling through the tranquil surroundings.
I found the museum to be exceptionally beautiful and majestic. We enjoyed a delightful meal of fish and chips with ice-cold beer. The grounds were breathtaking, and while the building's multi-level design presented a slight navigational challenge, this added to the overall experience of discovery. I highly recommend a visit.

Hill top locations cannot be beaten for an early morning visit with the world still asleep. What an amazing park for young and old and sights to explore here in Auckland. Play cricket, kick a ball, picnic with friends and family and enjoy the views. Or get a taste of culture inside the museum and stop for a moment of reflection and remember what this place is meant to keep us aware of. Abd yes, it’s not the Louvre, but the views and the available parking to enjoy the Domain are definitely in favour of this place. Though don’t come by car in the high season, parking can get tricky then.

We enjoyed our visit but there were several areas/exhibits closed which was disappointing. The place was like a rabbit warren and we had trouble working out where we were. We wandered through an open door trying to find the toilets. As we were leaving a staff member questioned if we had a ticket for the paid performance. She was polite but it put us off - the door had been wide open and there was no staff member on the door. Apparently it was in an area for a paid performance. ??

Located in the heritage suburb of Devonport, Auckland, Torpedo Bay Navy Museum is a compact yet impactful museum that showcases the history of the Royal New Zealand Navy. The well-presented galleries offer poignant insights into New Zealand's involvement in maritime conflicts worldwide, with comprehensive coverage of both World Wars. Visitors can explore a diverse range of artifacts and exhibits, including old ships and marine antiques. The museum also features educational programs and a dedicated kids' activity zone to keep young visitors engaged.
The facility is ideal for learning about the New Zealand Navy and the history of the torpedo bay, with highly knowledgeable volunteers. The exhibits are arranged in a professional manner, and a substantial amount of information pertaining to them is readily accessible. We particularly enjoyed the medal collections and the model ships.

Lovely spot with great view, nice cafe, outdoor playground. Not a huge place, but many interesting stuff if you are into this part of the history. Very friendly staff with great knowledge. North head and Mt Victoria are close by.
Maggie M — Google review
There really isn’t another museum quite like this! Here you’ll find the courage, pride and honour of the New Zealand Navy, forged through long and fierce battles. I truly hope as many people as possible will come and see it for themselves, and learn about their service. I have to admit, I’d never taken much interest before. But now that my son has started primary school this year, and with it being his very first spring holiday, I came here just to fill in some time. That was a huge mistake on my part — I should have come much earlier and taken the chance to learn. In that sense, my son is lucky. Growing up here in New Zealand, I hope he can take inspiration from these people, grow into someone who loves his country, and one day contribute to it as they did. The museum itself is small in size, but the exhibitions are incredibly rich and well presented. And being right at the base of North Head, which was once an active fortress, you really do feel the history in the place itself. The gift shop is excellent, with a wide range of items at very reasonable prices — well worth recommending. The on-site café isn’t just a makeshift pop-up, but a proper stand-alone café. Outside there’s a little play area for kids, and you can enjoy a walk along the waterfront too. May the peace of this quiet sea always be preserved, and may the safety of all those serving in the New Zealand Navy be protected.
Louis M — Google review
It is 10 dollars for outsiders, Aucklanders pay nothing. You can make a small donation if it pleases you. They have an interesting collection from the Royal Navy NZ. I particularly loved the trivia about some of the battle ships they encountered. We do not generally hear about the NZ defence forces in the news, however, it would seem they have been very active in a lot of peace keeping missions and rescue operations. The staff at the front desk were friendly.
Hans K — Google review
Interesting place to visit in Devonport. We were there after 4pm so entry was free but I'd encourage others to make a donation. There are models of NZ and British vessels with mementos and descriptions of sea battles. By the pier behind the museum is a salt water swimming pool that assisted in the recovery of wounded servicemen.

Came here on a rainy day with my 18month old. To start the staff are all really lovely and welcoming. The cafe does a good coffee and the blueberry muffin was delicious. The museum was great with a little one as there was plenty to see but it wasn’t huge and all the displays were low so he could easily see everything.

The park offers opportunities for camping and hiking amidst its wide-open spaces and marked trails that showcase the area's history. One of its unique features is the basalt lava flows from the eruption of nearby Mangere Volcano around 18,000 years ago.
Such a great place. Best to go in the morning when animals are out. My little one enjoyed it a lot. Good facilities and easy to access. Car park can be difficult when busy but plenty of parking in paddock area. Great place to have a picnic as well. Can be windy as near water so bring wind breaker.

“Ambury Adventures: Where the Sheep Roam Free” Visited Ambury Regional Park on a cool breezy day, peaceful, open, and full of friendly (and slightly judgy) sheep. The walking trails are flat and easy, perfect for a calm stroll with green views, farm animals, and that “getaway without leaving the city” kind of vibe. Great spot to bring a picnic, clear your mind, or accidentally photobomb a sheep. Parking was easy, toilets were clean, and the air? One of the must visit locations in Auckland! Great for brunch cafe. We went there for lunch and very happy to be here. I will definitely bring my family and friends to come for a good break. He tried to get us a table even when we walked in. Excellent!

I met my friends at Hill House Cafe and afterwards wandered into the art museum, where I noticed a beautiful piano. Caught by inspiration, I asked a staff member if I could play it. She paused, then said, “Only if you’re a professional pianist.” I replied, “No, I’m not a professional — but yes, I can play.” She frowned and insisted, “This piano is only for people who really can play.” It was one of those painfully awkward moments—standing in front of an instrument I longed to touch, only to be told I wasn’t good enough by someone else’s standards.

**Gallery and Coffee Shop** This art gallery is complemented by a coffee shop downstairs, offering a unique blend of art and refreshments. **Food Quality** The cinnamon bun looked too sweet due to the icing, but it might be enjoyable for those who don't mind extra sweetness. **Ambiance** The space is pretty nice, although there are ongoing renovations that might affect the atmosphere. **Service and Staff** The staff are friendly, adding to the welcoming environment. **Coffee Quality** The coffee was average, not particularly noteworthy. **Pricing** Prices are a bit higher than your average coffee shop, which might be a consideration for budget-conscious visitors.

🏊‍♂️ Parnell Baths The Saltwater Tease 🧂💦 Rolled up to Judges Bay for a chill day and thought, “Why not check out Parnell Baths too?” Well… surprise, surprise the place is temporarily closed till November.. My first time here, already hyped about a saltwater pool experience, but nope… Had to settle with just staring at the gates like a kid locked out of Willy Wonka’s factory.. From the outside, the place looks huge,so I’m guessing when it’s open you’ll get everything from a proper swim to a good splash fight.. The only downside I can already tell... Parking. Limited spots =Hunger Games for a park... Anyway,I’ll be back in November, ready to float in that salty glory.. Hope they fix up whatever people complained about and open brand new.. Till then… see you soon Parnell Baths.. Don’t keep us thirsty swimmers waiting. 😅 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (for the hype, even if I couldn’t dip yet). “Logan was here… but the pool wasn’t.” 😅
Loga_KL — Google review
Facilities are good and the pool is excellent. Lots of lifeguards who do their job rather than just standing around. However, the cafe was a massive let down. I waited 30minutes for an iced mocha at 11am. At first there was only one staff member visible who had to do coffee and hot food orders, so I can understand there being a bit of a wait time. However then a second staff member came to help (I think she was actually lifeguard judging by what she was wearing by) who didn’t really help at all. It was obvious she didn’t know how to work a coffee machine, and if she did, not very well. A further two staff members arrived and started to help get the coffees out. I am a student and use to work in hospitality so I am sympathetic and know how demanding it can be when you have lots of orders to do, but a 30min wait with 4 staff members helping is just insane. It wasn’t even peak time, so I don’t know how they would manage this situation during peak. Like I said, the rest of the facilities are good, but the cafe is a let down.
Emily M — Google review
Lovely facilities here. We enjoyed two visits here recently. The pool is very big and ideal for swimmers. There is a great play area for children in the pool, they loved the inflatable. The area is well run with a very good amount of lifeguards. There is plenty of different seating areas, in the sun and shaded. Good changing facilities. Two lovely ladies run the food and drinks kiosk and there are some lovely cakes. There is a well stocked shop with swimming costumes etc. Reception staff are polite and friendly. Great all round. . Parking is very good close by.

The best part about this place is the adult spa pool. It is spacious and at good temperature. The largest part of the pool is deep (1.6-2.3m), so not suitable for learners. Only small part at 1.3m depth. The lido pool was closed during our visit. The cleanliness of the pool and changing should be improved. No door on the female shower rooms and no lockers.

Great day out for the kids - very clean nice friendly staff costs about $7 for adults kids under 16 free recommend you check it out it’s salt water 💦 so just be aware 👍🏽parking on judges bay road quite busy so you might want to park on Tāmaki Drive and walk across the bridge

It's a great swimming pool! It's free for kids under 16. It's an Olympic pool size. It's a salted pool with moderate temperatures. The deepest end is 2.4m. life guards are not available at the deep ends so you gotta make sure you know how to swim well. There's a small restaurant that's not worth buying food from since it's overpriced. The pool is not clean but it's safer than the ocean since there are no sharks/animals in it, but I guarantee you it has some human fluids in it 😣. I saw a kid throwing up in there and all they did was cleaning that spot lol.

Sadly, I didn’t find a good fit for a jersey, but the merchandise shop had some T-shirts on sale, and they were perfect! The selection was still impressive, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Even without the full All Blacks Experience, browsing the shop was enjoyable, and I left with some great finds at a good price. Definitely worth a visit for rugby fans looking for souvenirs or casual gear.

I found the experience to be both insightful and enjoyable. I learned a great deal about the sport, its history, and its significance to Māori culture. The experience is well-crafted, utilising the latest technology and providing an interactive element. I would recommend it for solo travellers, work teams, or groups of friends who are passionate about sports. The Haka, performed by both men and women (virtually), is amazing. The staff members are incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially our guide, Cess. I left with my personal jersey, which I am excited to wear to the next game, but just not when the All Blacks play Ireland 😀

A great presentation all around. I might have gotten some dust in my eye during the big screen Hakas. I’m so glad I used some of my limited time in Auckland to take it all in!

As someone who isn’t a die-hard rugby fan, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the All Blacks Experience in Auckland—but I’m so glad I went. It turned out to be an unexpectedly enriching cultural journey that went far beyond the game itself. What truly elevated the experience was our incredible tour guide, Linda. From the moment the tour began, she brought warmth, humour, and deep knowledge to every part of the visit. Her passion for both rugby and New Zealand culture shone through in every word, and she created an engaging, welcoming atmosphere for all visitors. She was especially wonderful with children—patient, enthusiastic, and genuinely kind. If I could give Linda five stars on her own, I absolutely would! The venue itself is sleek, modern, and impressively interactive. Cutting-edge technology is used throughout the tour to draw visitors into the heart of New Zealand’s rugby legacy—allowing you to feel what it’s like to stand alongside the All Blacks as they perform the haka, among many other powerful moments. Even as someone not immersed in the sport, I found myself fully engaged, and I walked away with a newfound appreciation for the game and its deep cultural significance to Aotearoa. That said, there are a couple of areas where I feel the experience could be enhanced. As someone who enjoys history, I would have loved to see more historic memorabilia—like original jerseys from iconic players through the decades, old boots, trophies, and other artifacts. These would have added a tangible link to the legacy being celebrated. Additionally, my partner was keen to purchase a Black Ferns t-shirt, but unfortunately, only larger women's sizes were available. A broader range of sizes would have been appreciated. Overall, the All Blacks Experience offers an unforgettable dive into one of New Zealand’s most treasured institutions—delivered with high-tech flair and heart. While there’s room for a richer historical showcase, it remains a compelling and uniquely Kiwi adventure. Five stars for Linda Four stars for the experience Would definitely recommend—even if you're not a rugby fan!

A great experience. Big Mahalo to Coach Linda for heading up our tour. Loved the history and the flow of the tour itself. It was a gift for my spouse who is a huge All Blacks Fan and he really enjoyed it. The simulation of going to the field and experiencing the Haka gave me chicken bumps, very powerful. The interactive experience was great and I still hope to break 4000 on that agility run #OldPeopleGoals! A definite addition to an Auckland itinerary.

As a South African Springbok supporter, i was utterly surprised at how awesome this experience was! I had the privilege of going with my work colleagues and my teenage children to this experience and we had such a blast! Cecil was an absolutely amazing tour guide and gave us the full extended experience. He was kind and motivating throughout the whole experience and i loved his sense of humor! This is not only an experience for All Black Supporters and rugby fans, this is an experience for everyone. An experience rich with culture and history. I would definitely recommend doing this if you are in Auckland.

Just been to view there latest exhibit. 60 years of Television in NZ. So nostalgic for me and i especially liked thumbing through the huge program directory book their. Fascinating as many of the programs i watched as a kid in the 60s and later were there, episode titles and dates aired. Highly recommended for avid TV fans and to see and hear how television started in this country from famous faces to what goes on behind the scenes. Also admired the architecture both outside and inside the studio. Great work. Regards, Ian Davies.

We recently did the Silk Road tour of Panmure for a birthday. We started with a few snacks and then visited several restaurants, supermarkets and bakeries from a wide variety of cuisines. Mary was an excellent tour guide, a wealth of information and had everything so well organised - with the signature dishes from each place ready to sample. The food was fantastic and it was a really fun and friendly group. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to explore Auckland!

The secrets of Panmure were shared with us on this great afternoon. Amazing culinary delights are hidden in our own back yard. Thanks for introductions Mary. Behind these unassuming facades, amazing food and people await. Gems for the unpretentious. The tour worked for all of us from 23 to 70. Great value for money.

Mary is such a fountain of local and international food knowledge. Having lived in Auckland my entire life the tour was eye-opening to see what gems I was yet to discover. We ended the tour feeling like we had traveled overseas. 100% recommended.

Maungakiekie / One Tree Hill, a prominent 182m-tall volcanic peak in Auckland, New Zealand, is home to the One Tree Hill Domain and Cornwall Park. The name Maungakiekie means "mountain of the kiekie," referencing an indigenous vine once abundant in the area. The hill's English name comes from a lone Monterey Pine that previously stood at its summit.
Magnificent view at the summit of One Tree Hill On New Year Day 2024 and 5/1/2024, my husband and I went to the summit of One Tree Hill. We enjoyed the stunning views there and took many photos. Apparently, there’s no more tree on top of the hill but two short trees are locked with the steel cage. We highly recommend you to walk up to the summit of One Tree Hill to enjoy the breathtaking taking view.
Addie L — Google review
A must-see for anyone in the area, beautiful landscapes and views of Auckland and the surrounding suburbs. There is a nice little cafe before a gentle uphill walk to the mountaintop where you can experience some of the history that this iconic landmark represents.
CJ C — Google review
Beautiful, easy, peaceful walk to a great vantage point with 360° views of Auckland. The park landscape and the variety of enormous trees are worth seeing in their own right
Scott N — Google review
The scenery here is worth a walk. The parking lot on the mountain is closed, so you can only stop at the foot of the mountain and then walk to the observation deck on the mountain. We have probably walked for 20 minutes. If the weather is good, here is a 360-degree view of Auckland on the bay. Very spectacular, if you are coming to New Zealand for the first time, be sure to check it out.

One tree hill is a popular spot in Cornwall Park where you can get a great view of the city of Auckland. It's a good place to go for a walk or a bike ride. You can breathe in the fresh air and bask in the sun.
Virangi M — Google review
The place is nice. You can no longer go inside with the car, I was frustrated as I was too tired to walk. I managed to find a nice small parking lot with a nice view of the top. If you are not in for a good walk, don't go there. But, I personally felt the place is highly meditative. Worth visiting.
Mohamed D — Google review
Another great spot in Auckland for views. It’s a bit of a hike up from the car park but you can call the local council and get a code for car access to the summit if you or a passenger have limited mobility - the number is on a sign at the car park 👍🏻
Peter W — Google review
A very historic place to visit. The view on top is superb with a 360 view of Auckland. Getting up is a bit tricky if you have a car. Better park it at the lower parking level and walk up on top of the hill. It's not at wide on top as I expected but the view is amazing.

Visitors can also admire the floral clock at the park's entrance and explore the city's Meteorological Observatory.
We visited very early on a Sunday morning when everything and everyone was still and peaceful. Beautiful gardens and stairways with manicured lawns. Plenty of bench seats to sit on as you take in the surrounding city scenery. A very scenic spot to enjoy the serenity

So beautiful park to walk, spend the afternoon, read, or take a look of the city. It has several historical monuments along the path. A nice fountain and it’s always clean. Its amazing gardens are full of flowers and green grass. In the background, you can see the Auckland buildings or the university on the other side. Wherever you sit, you’ll have a beautiful and different view. The bandstand is another highlight, and also the old trees. So many birds also. Highly recommended to walk around and enjoy its peace and freshness.

It's a lovely park with plenty of space to walk and take a break from the busy surrounding streets. There are many trees and flowers that make for a relaxing atmosphere and make the cityscape more beautiful. It's worth noting that the entrances to this park from Queens Street are very steep. This is the first public place I’ve visited named after the love of Queen Victoria of England. I visited when it was perfect weather. The garden is well cared for. All sorts of people were enjoying their company, or solitude. It was peaceful and colourful. There was even a mother and very young girl beautifully dressed, waving her wand with bubbles floating in the sun across the flower beds. Magic!

The Domain Wintergardens, located in Auckland, is a historic treasure designed in the early 1900s with Victorian-style glasshouses and a picturesque courtyard and pond. This tranquil site showcases rare and spectacular plants, offering an ever-changing display for horticulture enthusiasts to enjoy. Following a two-year project for repairs and improvements, the Winter Gardens have been fully re-opened to the public, ensuring the conservation of this iconic site for future generations.
Winter Garden is a truly fabulous experience, offering a diverse array of gorgeous flowers, including varieties I'd never seen before, all set within a stunning environment. It's a peaceful, natural haven perfect for leisurely strolls, where you can fully appreciate the beauty of each scene. The expansive grounds invite exploration, with discoveries like historical statues adding to the charm. And if hunger strikes, a convenient restaurant is just a short walk away, no car needed! I hope they'll add frogs to the water lily pond and butterflies to the plants, further enhancing the natural beauty and making this place even more enchanting.

I visited the Domain Wintergardens in Auckland Domain and left absolutely enchanted—here’s my glowing review: 🌿 5‑★ Review: Auckland Domain Wintergardens Atmosphere & Setting Tucked away in the peaceful Auckland Domain, the Wintergardens feel like a hidden retreat amidst the city’s hustle. From the moment you step into the courtyard with its sunken pond and classical marble statues, it’s clear this place was built to transport you. Glasshouses & Plant Life The two glasshouses are stunningly beautiful: one housing seasonal temperate flora, and the other a tropical oasis with orchids, palms, and exotic blooms. The contrast in climates and plant varieties keeps things exciting as you wander. Fernery & Historical Nod Don’t miss the fernery—an atmospheric chill zone nestled in an old volcanic quarry, brimming with ferns and native plant life. A refreshing contrast to the lush greenhouse interiors. Ambience & Experience It’s calm, photogenic, and serene—ideal for reading, strolling, or snapping beautiful shots. The heritage architecture, light-filled vaults, and fragrant greenery create a peaceful, almost magical environment. Practical Perks • Free admission—no entry fee for the Wintergardens. • Convenient central location—right next to the Auckland War Memorial Museum. Combine your visit for a perfect culture-and-nature day out. • Weekday parking & leisurely cafes nearby make it hassle-free to plan around a relaxing

The Wintergarden in Auckland’s domain has two glass houses restored recently and one with plants from temperate and one tropical climate. There are frogs and tadpoles, at the moment, in the warm water pool with the water lilies. Very picturesque and a touch of England’s Victorian grandeur on the other side of the world. It doesn’t take too long to see it all but slow down a notch and it’s worth visiting if you’re in the domain already. Don’t forget to go through the gate aptly titled the Fernery!

Manukau Heads Lighthouse is a secluded beacon located on the Awhitu Peninsula, offering breathtaking sea views and picturesque picnic grounds. The journey to this 140-year-old lighthouse is as stunning as the destination itself, with rolling green fields reminiscent of the English countryside. Visitors can stop off in Waiuku for a picnic before embarking on the adventurous drive to reach the lighthouse.
“Manukau Heads Lighthouse Where the Ocean Makes Its Grand Entrance” 🌊✨ Ever wondered where all that water you see chilling at Onehunga actually comes from?.. This is the spot the grand entrance where the ocean rolls in like a boss.. And let me tell you,the view from the lighthouse is straight up mesmerizing.. 🌊⚓ Good news after being closed forever, the lighthouse is open again!.. You can climb up,walk around the 360° balcony, and let the crazy wind style your hair for free. 💨 The drive itself is a vibe winding roads, scenic stops that’ll tempt you to pull over for photos, and finally a gravel car park where the adventure begins.. Just a short 5 minute climb and boom, you’re at the top!.. Easy win.. Now… about the toilet.. 🚽 Let’s just say it’s “special..” No sewer system, just a giant barrel holding everything… Yes, you can see it. 😳💀 My advice, Either hold it like a champ or drive 40 minutes to the nearest town.. Overall,if you love nature, epic ocean views, and a little bit of wind in your face drama Manukau Heads Lighthouse is the spot. 🌅 “Logan was here chasing waves and wind at Manukau Heads 🌊💨”

La Cigale Market, Café, Shop & Events is a French-inspired gourmet destination in Auckland's historic suburb of Parnell. The market offers an array of artisanal products from New Zealand and overseas, including fresh produce, cured meats, baked goods, olive oil, honey, and more. Visitors can indulge in crepes, pastries, and chocolates while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere.
If these amazing colours for fresh, local produce don't entice you to the French markets in Parnell, then perhaps the sweet Pacific inspired treats by master chef at Sweet & Me will! Go for the fresh veggies and fruit, but stay for the delectable ready to eat street food and great atmosphere! I am a regular here and it is always a winner way to start your weekend! Caution - lines for great food can be long but it's worth it.

One of the best market/cafe/bistro/shop. I've been at! They have a number of varied stalls to choose from, with good seating capacity-- although it gets filled up quickly, especially in Sundays. My favourites: - they serve the BEST coffee (Gravity beans). There's always a long line of people, waiting for their morning coffee fix ☕ - Tahsin's Market - sells the BEST hummus with so much variety. You can try to sample first before you buy, but everything is so good you'll end up getting confused on which to get 😅 It's typically $5 per tub, but when we went the next day, it was $10 for 3 tubs. Not sure if that's a usual discount, but make sure to take advantage of that - Paella Pan - there's usually a line here as well because of the delicious paella! I know rice in the morning is pretty heavy but so worth it. The guy cooking/serving is also quite nice so that's a plus. $15 for a small serving (good for 1-2), $18 for large (good for 2-3 people) - French Crepes - sweet ending after eating so much savoury food ❤ La Cigale is definitely a must try! 😍

Interesting market and dined at the La Cigale Bistro during the market’s 21 birthday. Little hard to find tables initially but once we settle down it’s a great place to sample some great food 🥪🥘, do some people (and dog) watching and take home some crusty burgettes🥖🥖!! If you want to explore Parnell further, on a sunny day🌞, recommend that you visit the market, then walk to the Roses Garden🌹🌹and drop by the little inner-city forgotten paradise at Judges Bay reserve 😊...

Absolutely loved the French markets. Some great food outlets they have a great coffee selection inside and out. A good time to go is about midday on a Sunday an hour before it closes is a few vendors have specials like the Turkish guy was is hummus selection. Also they have a great range of organic vegetables.

It’s not a French market, there are products from everywhere which is nice to see. I went there with the kids and we all found something different to eat. It is quite pricey for a market but it has nice atmosphere. Best stall for me was the doggy treats!
Maria R — Google review
Very poor experience at the cheese shop, the staff was very rude and just focused on getting you to buy things. They didn’t give us the right information so we had to leave after purchasing over 75 dollars in cheese and bread because we were not allowed to drink the bottle of wine we took outside. They didn’t explain clearly the type of license they got so we ended up in living. The market is lovely, if you can I would rather spend my money in the other stands rather than the cheese shop inside.
Laura P — Google review
The weekend markets are the buzz of Parnell, where people come to meet friends, get their weekly produce, and try some amazing foods. Featuring large open spaces, unique decor and frequent live performances. There is a full time cafe and a healthy food shops around. The food here is pretty great, especially the baked goods..worth a visit!

Love the variety and wide selection of food and drinks sold here. The ambiance is so relaxed even with the crowds. Such a cool food market. They open early on weekends until around 2pm if i'm not mistaken, so can get breakfast or lunch here and some souvenirs, clothes etc other than the food.

As you stroll from Viaduct Harbour over the bridge to Silo Park, you'll encounter an eclectic mix of large-scale artworks that celebrate both contemporary creativity and Maori culture.
There are lots of interesting looking play equipment here amongst some legacy structures like the silos and the gantry. The only negative being the toilet's exhaust pumping unpleasant gases directly onto the playground.

Shopping mall
Westfield Newmarket, located in Auckland, is a top-notch shopping destination that offers something for everyone. After undergoing extensive renovations, the mall now boasts a diverse range of stores catering to various budgets and styles. From popular brands like Barkers and Country Road to upscale boutiques such as Dangerfields and Forever New, visitors can enjoy both casual browsing and high-end shopping experiences.
I was there on Friday afternoon with a friend to pick up my online order. We planned to stay just 15 minutes—but ended up spending three hours! We noticed the glass roof with the waterfall and couldn't resist exploring further. Our curiosity led us to the top, where we discovered beautiful views and a variety of eateries. We were truly fascinated by Bodrum!

Arguably the best mall in Auckland, NZ. Spacious and modern design, not crowded at all. Lots of retail stores, movie house, department stores inside. Parking is not a problem. Lots of activities for the kids too. Very accessible, near bus stops and train station. We love going to this mall. Highly recommended.

Beautiful and aesthetically pleasing especially on the rooftop section! Spoiled for choice with restaurants and food court. The usual suspects for your shopping experience
Tinas Z — Google review
Plenty of parking and a good range of shops set over three bright and clean levels. The layout is easy to navigate, with everything from everyday essentials to designer brands. Plenty of rest rooms and some food hall options. Paid parking (pay at the machine before returning to your vehicle) was free for the first couple of hours on Sunday, we visited for around four hours and paid $30 for parking. The atmosphere feels modern and welcoming, definitely worth a visit!
Elaine R — Google review
There are a few pram parking spots, and the parents’ room has two curtained cubicles for breastfeeding. The light’s pretty dim though, and the TV in the kids’ play area is quite loud. One cubicle is only accessible through the locked play area, a bit of a double edged sword. It’s probably be better if they were separated.
Becky L — Google review
Forgot to write a review, but last year I entered the car parking 4 minutes before free parking and was charged. However spoke with one of the car parking managers and got a refund for my case. Definitely one of the best experiences I’ve had with parking in the city.

Love the variety of shops and food. The interactive map is very useful. My favourite shop is the Lego shop, so many cool sets you can buy. The rooftop area is lovely and well designed, the perfect place to relax and enjoy the variety of food offered.

Wonderful mall! Has all your needs and staff are always helpful. Can get busy sometimes but that's because this is a great mall. Also love the rooftop dining, amazing options compared to other malls. Would HIGHLY recommend.

Highwic House is a historic gothic mansion that has been turned into a museum. The mansion features period furnishings, paintings and decorative antiques, and is open for self-guided tours. Highwic served as the home of the Buckland family until the 1960s, and the museum offers an interesting look into Victorian life in New Zealand.
I've visited Highwic several times, and each experience has been thoroughly enjoyable. Exploring the beautifully preserved home and hearing the fascinating stories of the family who once lived there really brings the past to life. One of the highlights was attending their monthly baking event—it was genuinely one of the best experiences I've had in Auckland. The cakes were absolutely delicious, and we learned so much about traditional New Zealand baking. My parents, who were visiting from Hungary, also fell in love with the charm of the house. I highly recommend visiting this hidden gem in Auckland, especially alongside other local heritage sites.

Have been wanting to visit Highwic for a long time and was very impressed. A beautiful historical family home with an amazing history. We were there for more than an hour and a half exploring the realistically furnished rooms.

Gorgeous grounds with a fascinating history. It was lovely walking through and seeing how the house was used throughout it's years. The staff was also lovely and we really enjoyed our visit. This is a very nice tucked away gem across from Westfield Newmarket
Amy R — Google review
Had a wonderful time this weekend at Highwic. It’s such an important piece of history, beautifully preserved and nestled right in the heart of Newmarket. The house still stands with all its glory, offering a fascinating glimpse into Auckland’s past. A special thanks to Jaikrishna and Aarabhi who took us through the house—their knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience even more memorable. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates heritage, architecture, and a peaceful escape in the middle of the city.

An illustrative heritage building of the life of early settlers. There are informative maps and nice volunteers to introduce the story. A nice walk of half an hour in the Newmarket area. Entrance is next to the entrance of Westfield Newmarket parking from Mortimer Pass.
Daisy H — Google review
Good space to spend time on weekend and very beautiful surrounds. Lot of history to learn. The venue managers Jai and Arabhi deserve a raise for being very welcoming and showing us around with cinematic commentary on history of the place. Well worth a visit.
Nathan N — Google review
If you are a little in love with the beauty of the past, this place will not disappoint. My partner and I were the only ones there and we took our time exploring and delighting in the details of how well made things were. Also intriguing to think of the relationship between the lady of the house and her unpaid companion. The companion was chosen by the dying first wife to become the next and care for the children (as well as having many more). The garden is lovely and I'd recommend dressing up in old fashioned clothes and having a picnic! I wish it was a bit cheaper and then I'd visit more often ($10 entry).
Seamonkey L — Google review
We have been meaning to visit here for sometime. Glad we finally made it, it was a quiet day, we felt like we had the house to ourselves, only spotted one other family late during our visit. It's a wee bit of the beaten track, hard to think you're in the middle of bustling Newmarket. Enjoying wandering around the house trying to imagine what it would have been to live there in those times. My favourite area was The Boy's Barrack's at the top of the house, even the Playroom was cool. But as the signage informs you, it was warm during the Summer, but cold during the Winter. Well worth a visit !

Nature & Parks
Ayrlies Garden and Wetlands, located in the gentle rolling country of east Auckland, is a renowned destination for nature lovers. The garden boasts a wide variety of plant and flower species that change with the seasons, offering visitors an ever-changing experience. While entry to the top garden and wetlands is free, there is an admission fee for other areas. Despite the cost, many find the well-maintained grounds and breathtaking views worth it.
We were fortunate to visit this beautiful garden as a team of florists from Australia in the early spring time. It was a pleasure hearing about the history of the garden from Jacqueline and enjoying a picnic amongst the beauty and tranquility of such an abundant and well considered design. A must visit for all flower, plant and garden lovers.
Petra C — Google review
Fell in love with estate gardens whilst living in the UK and missed visiting wonderfully constructed garden landscapes until my sister took me to Ayrlies last week! It was a quiet day due to the changeable weather but the mixture of overcast and sun played beautifully on the foliage and the quiet added a level of serenity to the place. We loved meandering along the property path, enjoying the views, the peace and the birds. There has obviously been so much care and love put into the place. Can't wait to visit again during another season. Thank you!
Ashleigh — Google review
A quaint private owned garden close to home. Plenty of parking. I found the online paying not that good so it is best to bring cash along. I do not think you would spend up to 2 hours here. 45 minutes to 1 hour would do. There are decent amount of photo spots and the walk is nice.
Leon L — Google review
Such a beautiful and special place. Lovely spot to walk and slowly meander about in. Had the pleasure of meeting Jacqueline too and hearing a little about the history of the grounds and the immense amount of work that went into planting and maintaining them. Must visit for all plant and flower lovers!
Asha B — Google review
What an amazing place. Went with an arranged bus trip ,on the 60th anniversary of the gardens. Busy but still plenty to see. Some areas not accessible, but I guess places of this calibre have ongoing maintenance.
Nigel W — Google review
Our walk along the Ayrlies Wetlands Walk Track was pure joy on a sunny day: every detail here feels thoughtfully designed. Native New Zealand plants thrive abundantly, while winding boardwalks, small bridges, and serene lakes around complement each other beautifully. This ecologically rich spot is such a fantastic haven for wildlife, we spotted many birds along the way, including New Zealand Scaup, Tui, Pukeko, New Zealand Dabchick, Grey Teal, as well as Kahu (harriers), Shining Cuckoos, Black Shags, Pied Shags, and Spoonbills. Ayrlies Wetlands definitely is a treasured destination for nature lovers.
Danli W — Google review
$20 entry fee was worth it. Perhaps not the best place for families, but I recommend a romantic walk with your partner in this beautiful garden. Gorgeous ponds, lavish flowers, and friendly staff willing to educate. Next to one of the ponds, you can see tree roots growing upwards. I am planning on revisiting in the autumn and spring seasons. Nice, quiet place.
Camellia D — Google review
This place is amazing! It is very big and absolutely breathtaking. It is my favourite time of year, when the leave start to turn colour. It's an awesome display. I do feel that $20 is quite steep, although I do understand that maintenance of such beautiful space would cost quite a lot. Unfortunately if you're a small family, then it is very costly. The top garden and wetlands are free to enter. I do wish there were a bit more benches. I absolutely recommend it.

What a GREAT experience!!! It does not matter if you are a sailor or not, this is well worth doing when in Auckland. Great views, thrilling to see the boat heal even in lighter winds, and if you like, there is a chance to work the riggers (think that’s what it’s called) and steer an Americas cup boat.

A wonderful piece of NZ Sailing History that under the watch of the Maritime Museum and Auckland Council that has been ignored and is dying in front of everyone's eyes. No maintenance or cleaning of the boat is going to see it carted away as unsafe.....a Bit like the mast that was removed for maintenance and never returned. A wonderful historic Momento that will no doubt be lost to us all in the near future due to inept management.

Thought of going to have a look at the nz s yachting playground and hopefully meet someone that's part of team nz for a scrabble on my shirt, since in level 2 and the weather not at rendez vous, watching the race between NZ and Italy, and nz is winning 1-0, for the first leg, as long as they keep up with the right attitude and hard work as always, cross fingers and toes that it does happen, good luck to both teams, never been down to the yachting area but will make a move when level 1 is on and meet up and party with the rest of the kiwis if they do it again💪💪💪, go 🥝

Held an event (DWT 2018) last year at this location and enjoyed the large stage and the wide variety of stage lights it had to offer. Back stage had a dance studio, several changing rooms, several toilets on both ends of the backstage (for cast and backstage crew) as well as a large backstage loading space for larger items. When looking for a venue to host an event this location is highly recommended!

Mangere Arts Centre is a blessing of a resource to this community. The Arts Centre is a radiant beacon of hope and a symbol of growth and opportunity for the people of this community. It is a manifestation of the belief in the potential of the people of this and neighboring communities. The Arts Centre brings talent and experiences into Mangere so that locals can be exposed to elements of the world outside of South Auckland. The space is gorgeous and clean. The community cafe makes some of the yummiest coffee in Auckland from beans grown in Tonga! The staff are friendly and kind. This place rocks.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Wētā to anyone with even a passing interest in cinema!

Best Birthday Surprise ever! I am absolutely TERRIFIED of heights, but my partner surprised me with this for my birthday and it turned out to be the best thing I’ve ever done. I was so anxious leading up to it, but the entire crew were incredible: funny, supportive, and reassuring every step of the way. From check-in, to gearing up, to the walk over, and finally the jump itself, they made me feel safe and gave me the peace of mind I needed to enjoy the experience. The walk to the jump site was beautiful, with incredible views over the city that made the experience even more special. Overall, It was thrilling, safe, and unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this to anyone — ESPECIALLY those with a fear of heights 🥳
Evanis M — Google review
A terrific experience from start to finish. The entire activity was well organised, and the staff were friendly, professional, and reassuring throughout. The pickup from the city centre was convenient, and the walk through the bridge structure to reach the jump site took around ten minutes. It felt very safe, and the setup was impressive. Once at the top, all instructions were clearly explained, and safety was maintained at the highest level. The team were relaxed and upbeat, offering different jump styles so we could choose what felt most comfortable while still getting the most fun out of the experience. While it is not the highest bungy in New Zealand, the views from the platform are beautiful, and the experience itself is fantastic. We would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Auckland who wants a memorable and safe adrenaline activity.

I had a great time doing the bridge climb. Everybody was nice and chill. Luckily the weather was good so we had a beautiful view on top and saw the beauty of Auckland. Whatipu Beach is a rugged and remote destination located in the west of Auckland. Accessible by a gravel road, this wild coastline offers dense, dark sand perfect for walking and nearby caves to explore. As the least busy of the publicly accessible West Coast beaches, Whatipu is a scientific reserve owned by the Department of Conservation with minimal human development. The area features coastal dunes, lush wetlands, and mesmerizing views of ever-changing waterways.
One of the less known beach compared with Piha beach or Muriwai beach. I think it has more to see than the other two! It has both rocky terrain and sandy beach, plus a few hidden gems!
A K — Google review
This is genuinely my favourite beach in Auckland, well this and Huia. This is also the best West Coast beach in the region as it is untouched compared to the rest. The beach has a 10 minute walk before you arrive from the carpark. It is absolutely worth it though as the beach essentially corners the Manukau Harbour and Tasman Sea entrances. There are lots of walks to be explored as well, such as the Omanwanui Track, Whatipu Caves and Gibbons Track (though I believe the latter is still closed). The only downside is the drive getting there, as after you have passed Huia, you join a relatively narrow gravel road for 15-20 minutes and the drivers are definitely not considerate. Just be vigilant if you are heading there, especially on a weekend or if you are going against the traffic. Otherwise, highly recommend. This beach really has it all!

Another unique beach of Auckland west coast. One of the most beautiful one. You find amazing landscape with mountains as the background, long black sand beaches, rocks, fishers, birds. A beautiful black sand beach on western side of Auckland. It is very pleasant and secluded beach. The road to this beach is unsealed and will take a bit of time to reach there.

Such a beautiful beach. There is black soft sand, it is clean and not that busy on the beach. The parking lot got very busy (after 12/1 pm). It got very windy especially on the left side between the 2 mountains on the beach. Caves are unfortunately closed.
Ashley C — Google review
Beautiful beach, isolated from your normally easy to access spots. The road to the carpark is rough, narrow and can be dangerous if your not constantly watching for in coming traffic. Its worth it when you reach the end, plenty of carparking available here. Its only a 15 min walk to the beach or 20 min walk to the walks. We did both on our trip here which is fairly easy to complete.
