Golf course
Titirangi Golf Club, located in wild west Auckland, is a top golf destination designed by the renowned Alister MacKenzie, known for creating world-class courses like Augusta and Royal Melbourne. The 18-hole course features undulating fairways and a bar for post-game relaxation. Recent upgrades have solidified Titirangi's status as a premier golf location. The club's rustic exterior houses modern and well-designed changing rooms.
Loved the course layout and design. Very fun and a good thinking course. Whilst the condition of the course could be better, the greens and surroundings of it are fantastic. Gets better and better into the round. Staff in pro shop were super welcoming and friendly.
Nicholas N — Google review
Titirangi is an amazing course designed by the late and great Alistair MacKenzie, who is famously known for designing some of the world’s great courses like Augusta and Cypress Point. He has a knack for creating courses that blend in seamlessly with their natural surroundings, which is evident on every hole at Titirangi. I find it’s a course that requires a balance of skill, strategy, and creativity. A must-play for any golfing enthusiast! Hamish Dorrington Kakapo Business Sales

There’s no recent review about golf course. I really hope other people don’t be upset about course. The condition of course was very bad and some hole(#13) is under repair and closed. But no one advise this situation. #5 par 5 hole was divided with par 4 and par 3 hole. The lay out is OK ,but there is no sign in the course how to move toward next hole. I paid NSD300 for the green fee and cart and I don’t think golf course deserves this price. It’s like highway robbery for me and it completely hurted all of good impression about other courses in New Zealand. Please don’t make other people upset any more and Titirangyi should be honest with current golf course condition. NZD 30-50 will be reasonable green fee for corrent condition of golf course. It was nightmare for me. Gold bless your course.
MICHAEL K — Google review
Aucklands best course. Some terrific holes in this Alister MacKenzie design, lots of elevation changes and curvy terrain. Lush pockets of subtropical rainforest feature alongside a few of the fairways and walkways and every hole is different to the one before, providing constant challenge and enjoyment. And the course conditioning is usually great. Highly recommend.
Alan L — Google review
The only Alister Mackenzie designed golf course in New Zealand; and constantly ranked in the top 10 golf course in New Zealand. The exterior of the club house is rustic, but the changing rooms are surprisingly modern and well designed. It's a private club, but offers opportunities for non-members as well; although only members that can use the all-grass practice area. Some area around the green can look patchy, but that's actually part of the challenge. If you go to the starting/pro office, you can get the information about the holes on that day. It's a strategic course and many holes will trick you, so play wisely. The green are very-very fast and very tricky as well. So if you want as much information as possible, you better buy the detailed course information booklet.

The 1st of our multi golf game tour to NZ. We played on 1st March and joined the Black Tees Friday. The 2 high handicappers (used to resort style courses) couldn't understand why I selected this course until the 2 low handicappers explained the intricacies of the course layout. After our round, we met Doug White at the restaurant and he's even more friendly in person than on email. Only regret was 17th hole was under repair so there's the excuse for a return trip 😜
Lion P — Google review
We played with two local members, Ron and Karen, who were very welcoming, friendly and shared course knowledge. The course is dry from the drought, but still a great layout and very challenging and fair. The greens are in good shape and you must be aware of uphill v downhill putts. This is a great course and will be excellent when the rain comes.
Dave L — Google review
Well definitely one of the top courses in Auckland, if not the best. A little short in the front 8 holes but pretty technical. Gorgeous course well maintained. Greens are hard and fast so make sure you bring a fairly new wedge and polished short game to this iconic course.

The Royal Auckland and Grange Golf Club is a prestigious private club that has been around since 1924. It's the only private golf club mentioned in Concrete Playground, making it an exclusive destination for golf enthusiasts. While access may require knowing a member, the opportunity to play on this iconic course is worth pursuing. The Grange, located just a half-hour drive from Auckland city and close to the international airport, boasts immaculate grounds and has hosted major New Zealand tournaments.
My family favourite golf course. Please mind that it’s not a public golf course. Entry & playing could be restricted. Best practice facilities, restaurants, Can’t get any better. 😍

Immaculate condition, stylish clubhouse. Greens are perfect and undulated. NZD500 for visitors so quite expansive.

Exceptional club and golf courses. Golf course conditions were extremely good - bunkers were consistent, greens super quick, fairways immaculate. Great lunch and beers on offer in the clubhouse. Friendly staff and members who made us feel very welcomed.

Gulf Harbour Country Club, a former host of the New Zealand Open, offers resort-style play with sweeping ocean views over Waitemata Harbour. The par 72 golf course designed by Trent Jones Jnr caters to all levels of golfers. It is known for its challenging and well-maintained terrain. The club's picturesque coastal views during the back nine holes make it one of Auckland's best golf courses.
It was our last visit to NZ before the lockdown that still til today nearly 2 years later has our borders still closed. This Trent Jones jnr designed Golf Course is just beautifully presented and is long and challenging. I made a booking to play around lunchtime. After teeing off and playing 4 holes, there was a junior championship tournament on. We got stuck behind the juniors. Then, when we got to the 10th hole, it took us a lot of time to play the hole out, so we decided to leave and head back to the pro shop. It was a great 9 holes. We explained our predicament to the prshop staff, and then the general manager was notified, and he was fantastic 👏 . He was so good and understanding that without hesitation, he offered us to come back another day to play, at no extra charge in a golf cart too. This is why golf courses are successful with great staff like these who do what is required to assist customers. I recommend that if you're in Auckland, then give this beautiful golf course a try you will love it, if not the golf then it will be the stunning views as in the pictures.
Xiem H — Google review
One of Auckland's best golf courses imo. Well looked aftrt and amazing coastal views during the second half 9 holes.
Jshin — Google review
This is the best golf course in Auckland hands down. Challenging, beautiful scenery and well maintained. Definitely the standard all NZ golf courses should try to hold themselves to. If you are your average/beginner golfer, pack a few balls as you will definitely lose a few!
Hayder A — Google review
Great long challenging course with beautiful views of the cliffs and the ocean on some holes. A true championship standard manicured (but can be muddy in winter after persistent rain) Not a cheap fee to play but worth the treat.
Andre W — Google review
Fantastic course, the friendly greenkeepers do indeed "Keep the Greens" ,to the highest quality. I have played highly rated courses in the USA but they aren't as good as GHCC. Ferries from Britomart, Accommodation , Great Restaurants , Fresh Air... Cheers Nigel

Muriwai Golf Club is a classic championship golf course that offers a challenge to even the most experienced golfers. It features 18 holes with stunning coastal views, undulating greens, and sandy dunes in the traditional links golf style. The course is accessible year-round, with irrigation in summer and dry conditions in winter, making it popular for winter play. Despite its challenging layout among sand dunes and potential sea breezes, players appreciate the warm welcome from staff and local members.
I had an amazing day out on the course. The fairways were in fantastic condition, and the greens rolled so true. Everytime I come back it's gets better and better. Tolan and the team were awesome, super welcoming and professional. I can't wait to come back for another trip.
Carly W — Google review
The course looks very natural. Greens are in great condition. The wind is probably the biggest challenge. A few holes have great ocean view.
WILFRED Y — Google review
One of my favorite golf courses in NZ. Only played it twice, both times beautiful days. It's a must play course. Only issue we had today was a couple of groups jumping in front of us at the turn slowed the back nine down.
Campbell R — Google review
Mint condition for NZ winter. Good staff. It is not perfect, but great course close to AKL. Beautiful views from the cantina (19th) It is very amicable.. very forgiving. Fairways and greens are not immaculate.. but def somewhere i would keep going back for a round

Played an Eagles inter club. The course was in great condition after all the rain we had. The food was great and the staff were very welcoming . Will definitely be back.

Beautiful course, fast greens, quite hard!! Lovely and maintained so well. Great in the wet
Toni M — Google review
I grew up playing this course as a youngster but have not played here for a long time. Finally made it out and it bought back so many memories. What a beautiful Link's course. Still deceptively tough, great to get back to where it all started for me. Thanks to the staff out there.
Paul R — Google review
First time playing this course. Received warm welcome even just turning up to play and joined up with local member for a round (thanks Peter). Fantastic layout amongst the sand dunes making a stern challenge, especially with a sea breeze, though it wasn't too had according to my host! Although greens looked patchy they were in good condition and were quick and true. Clubhouse is highest point and adds to perfect end of a game.

Celebrated Mothers Day at Velocity. Absolutely beautiful facilities and surroundings. Parris, our hostess, was friendly & efficient and ensured our experience was top notch.
Mel C — Google review
Sadly, I often find the staff at the pro shop to be quite unapproachable, with an air of arrogance that makes the experience far less welcoming than it should be. In contrast, the staff at the driving range and café are always warm and friendly.
Elle R — Google review
Terrific afternoon of golf and whisky. I started my afternoon at Velocity and after 45 mins on the range it was time for a drink and some entertainment. They nailed it. 👏 Two amazing eagles on the 18th with NZ golfing greats. Thanks to #JohnnieWalkerNZ Also bumped into a "bus" who told some excellent AB stories. Is it like this every Monday at Remuera Golf Club? 100 percent.

Great course and you pay for it! Staff were fantastic, players observed excellent etiquette and the greens were extremely well maintained. Grounds staff were courteous and very cognizant of their surroundings, meaning play could continue with no disruption to either party. Overall I was very impressed with the course and would return... once I save up!
Trentyz — Google review
Needs to be clearer they do not acept cash anywhere in the club not just at restaurant. Went with a pocket full and could pay for anything. Only club ive ever come across thats like it.

Only used the driving range but was greeted by friendly members and pro shop staff. Large bucket of balls is $16 for 75 balls, which is not too bad considering you get the ball tracer technology in each bay. The tracer works really well and gives you so many stats and games to play. Definitely would go again!

Golf course
Chamberlain Park Public Golf Course, situated in the heart of Auckland, is a popular choice for both locals and tourists. This par 72, 18-hole layout offers well-maintained fairways and challenging greens. It's conveniently located close to the city center and doesn't require advance booking, allowing players to tee off at their convenience. The course also offers a twilight deal during summer weekdays.
This is a fantastic course for beginners! The fairways, rough, and greens are all well-maintained, making for a pleasant playing experience considering the great price ($20 - 9 Hole). Just be aware that the course has some elevation changes, so I'd recommend bringing or renting a trundler (they're only $5). It can get very busy, especially on Saturdays. If you're planning a weekend round, aim to arrive before 8am to avoid a 20-40 minute wait at the first tee. Even then, you might encounter some waiting on the course itself. Overall, I highly recommend Chamberlain for those new to golf.

Got my first Golf Lesson in 6 years. Also my first Lesson as a Left Hander(Previously I had played as a Right Hander). Jame Kupa is the Best Golf Pro Around. Saying its a whole new game. You've got to relearn everything and proceeded to firmly tell how to go about it. Thanks James.
Robert G — Google review
Very nice course, with challenging holes. Roughs are not well maintained and the greens aren't what one would expect - conditions being disappointing. Staff are friendly though.
Hugo T — Google review
Chamberlain is public golf course very close to the city centre, booking is not required which is very nice. You can play anytime of the day, just get there pay and tee off. If you need a cart booking is required as normally big groups play there every weekend. During the week on summer time they have the twilight deal which is quite nice. Membership is available and is quite cheap. Staff is very friendly and helpful, course is very well looked after, it is a sham that the council is planning to reduce the size of the course. Hope they can find a solution without having to reduce it.
Leandro C — Google review
All things considered it's not a bad place to play however, the greens are absolutely awful. The fairways are very average. It is a public course though so that does need to be taken into consideration. It's very cheap and if you are just looking to kill a few hours or are just beginning to learn the game it does the job... just beware of the cross country golfers at times it does seem like you are being bombarded with balls from every direction!
Christopher M — Google review
Loved the course. Fairways could use more water as they dry and hard. But really well priced and flat to walk.

Windross Farm Golf Course, established in 2011, has quickly gained recognition as one of Auckland's top golf courses. Nestled in 60 hectares of picturesque south Auckland farmland, the course offers stunning 360-degree views of tree-lined hills and lush green landscapes. Conveniently located just a short drive from central Auckland and the international airport, it's a popular choice for travelers looking to enjoy a round of golf during their holiday.
Very underrated golf course, clubhouse and facilities excellent, food great and staff all friendly and helpful
Sam S — Google review
The golf course is great, but the management and staff could be friendlier. We’ve had quite a few unwanted and undeserved encounters that have lowered our impressions of this course. However am and will probably continue to be a content member at Windross Farm, showing my overall love for this course. Keep up the good work!
Eason L — Google review
The course is very flat and not a lot of hazards. The wind is its greatest defence. The greens are in great condition. Perfect course if one is looking for a relax round of golf.
WILFRED Y — Google review
Windross Farm Golf Course A little off the beaten track and down some farm lanes, arriving at the entrance, you do feel like you are entering a farm. The driveway leads you to the really well appointed clubhouse and some great facilities, which includes a driving range, chipping and putting green, all available before you start. The welcome from Martin in the pro shop was not only welcoming, but also very accommodating. Now I’m not sure this is on the menu for everyone, but when we found out that the restaurant was not open and we could not get our early morning caffeine fix, Martin offered to go into the kitchen and make it for us! Outstanding. This is a course that is visually appealing; utilising natural flora to contour the tee boxes, fairways, greens and streams, and what feels like farm roads instead of concrete cart paths, this is a course with no boring holes. The first nine pulls you in, giving you all the opportunity to score well and then the second nine ramps up the ante, with 15 to 18 being 4 tough closing holes. The fairways are in good shape and produce really good roll, with offline shots ending in the suitably tough semi rough. Whilst the tussoc rough is really challenging, and fairway bunkers well placed and in play, the course provides many bale out areas. The par 4’s offer great challenge and reward options for long hitters, and for those choosing a shorter, and dare I say it, a more strategic approach, they are not punished by excessively long shots into the green. The closely mown greens are well sized and have good contours, leaving approach shots needing to be thought about, as shots that go long over the green are severely punished in tough green side rough. I think that once you have experience a few rounds here, it would help a lot with shot placement, as the greens are really hard, not providing bite you would normally expect. Don’t let this put you off, as I am probably a little critical, given some of my poor shot choices into the greens today!!! The greens are running fast and true; you couldn’t want more. They’re great and a couple of those long putts through the breaks can leave you a little nervous; however, hitting the right line at the right pace provides wonderful returns. Even though we used carts today, this is an easy walking course with little to no elevation. I was a little surprised that the restaurant and bar were not open today. Whilst I understand the need for rest days for the team, I wonder if January holidays are the exception, as the course was busy. All in all, a course I look forward to playing again, in fact, want to play again soon. Put Windross Farm on your list, you will not be disappointed. See you out there! — at Windross Farm Golf Course
Norman W — Google review
Booked a round on 12th of May and checked website about coring of course and found no information or dates the day of play I turned up to pro shop and was not informed the greens and some fairways had been cored 2 weeks earlier, I was only informed by some members upon the first hole. The members proceeded to ask how much I paid and I told them and that I also was not informed of the coring nor was there information on the course website and the members were absolutely disgusted that I was charged so much for how poor quality the greens and some fairways were considering it was 2 weeks on since the coring. I proceeded to email the course asking about the situation and how they provided limited information but still charged a $135 for greens that were pointless to putt on to which I received a email telling me the General manager was away and would respond to my email in regards to what I had raised in the email it has now been two weeks since I was told he was back at work and received no response. Lastly the members I played with were incredible but as for a simple follow up response from a highly praised GM on their website I think is quite poor considering Windross is supposed to be a top contending course in NZ.

It's known for its excellent greens and welcoming atmosphere, making it popular among golfers of all levels. The club also offers great facilities, including an impressive bar and delicious food options.
Fantastic location and facilities. Awesome bar, menu and wonderful staff. Superb venue for our monthly HOG Auckland Chapter meeting nights. Thank you.

I’m very disappointed with how this golf club handled younger players. Instead of encouraging and supporting them, the staff were dismissive and unwelcoming. Golf should be about inclusion, learning, and sportsmanship, but the attitude here was the opposite. It’s disheartening to see a club that could play such an important role in developing young golfers choose to make them feel unwelcome instead. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on creating a more positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for all players — especially the next generation who represent the future of the sport.

Howick Golf Club is a picturesque and challenging 18-hole course nestled in the eastern suburbs of Auckland. It offers a unique experience for golfers of all levels, with well-maintained fairways and greens. The club also features chic dining options with stunning panoramic views over the city and Hauraki Gulf. Despite some layout confusion, visitors appreciate the friendly staff and reasonable pricing.
This course is great. It starts a bit hilly and weird. But it opens up and get really nice. You can easily walk the 18 Holes. Playing from the tips ( Blue ) is a challenge on some holes but is a in general chill course. As a junior you only pay 35$ and as an adult ist something around 55$. That is very fair for the views and the course conditions. The bar is at the top of the proshop and gives amazing views over the sea Overall very pleasant experience 👍
Paul H — Google review
Awesome course, good challenge walking the ups and downs but all part of the intricacies of each golf course. Unfortunately the greens hadn’t been mowed/swept for overnight dew so they ran a bit slow but overall a great course. The views definitely live up to the hype too. Will definitely come back for another round and improve on my score… I hope!! Cheers!
Ollie P — Google review
I was visiting Auckland, and had not planned for golf, but got a chance for a round. So I had to rent clubs and buy balls, etc. The staff were friendly and helpful. The club is not really set up for visitors, their Wilson brand rental clubs were below basic, and worn out. The clubhouse offers minimal amenities, it’s definitely a municipal setup, catering to the locals. That said, the course is beautiful, with amazing views. It’s an enjoyable and challenging track, unusual layout, par 69 with 4 long par 3s on the front 9. Lots of elevation changes and a few hazards to contend with. A good walk, although carts are available. The course is at the end of a peninsula, offering constant amazing views. The staff assured me they had new rental clubs on order, so hopefully they will be available soon. It’s a rough cut diamond of a course, worth it for the course, location, and views.
Mark T — Google review
It’s hard to argue that this is not a pretty golf course. The website feels like you’ll see cliff edges and water every second hole, you won’t but the glimpses of water you do see are special. The course is very hilly so it wears you down, you’ll need to be on your game. It’s a little expensive to be honest as other local courses are half the price and offer a lot more shots on a flat surface. The hand trolleys are so old and the straps are broken, you’ll need to bring a bungee cord but they are free so you can’t really complain.

A beautiful golf club with very nice views of the lake. Fairways are in mint conditions and greens were nice to putt on without any major pitch marks. The course however was a bit confusing in terms of layout but it was manageable as the group in front of us played the 14th hole by accident after the 11th. We also had lunch at the cafe after our 18 in which the person serving us was extremely kind and friendly. I wished we stayed in Auckland a bit longer to play another round here.

Maungakiekie Golf Club is a stunning golf course located just south of Auckland, easily accessible from the airport. The layout offers a good challenge with consistent greens and well-maintained fairways. While it may be slightly pricy compared to other clubs, it's definitely worth the trip. The course provides a tough yet enjoyable game, living up to its name of Big Mountain.
Played 9th Dec 24. It's not anything fancy but! 5 stars! I felt so welcomed here. No nasty faces or comments just friendly people all over. From Brett manning the Recep to our playing partner, Hiong Dongge. Everyone were just greets and smiles and all that candy. The quality of the fairway were good enough not great but for what we paid, I can't complain. Very easy going course and quite challenging due to the crazy ups and downs of the fairways and so even with the cool air and darkish clouds, still was a workout. Players are mainly Koreans and locals I think. All timely too. Can't help but not give a 5 star for the human-welcome-feel that playing here gave me.

Beautiful course, nice to walk, have to walk up and down some fairways. The course is in good condition although it was a bit muddy from the rain. Rented a premium club and it was in okay condition (a set of TM burner irons and Titleist 913D2 driver). Overall it was good fun.
Baldi W — Google review
A pleasant club. Good layout. Would love to see more par 5s and I think a little bit pricy compared with other similar clubs but well worth the trip. Greens very consistent which was nice. Stay on the fairway!! Good putting and chipping greens to warm up.

Love the course, rain has not helped recently but lucky to have this gem in the outskirts of the city
Brendan K — Google review
Location is good Fairways and rough very muddy in the middle of winter Greens nice and rolling really well however I was most disappointed though that the proshop would not give me a scorecard after paying a $70 green fee, as I was playing as a single and did not have a marker to attest my score, on a rainy Wednesday afternoon in the middle of winter…. Is it not a game of honesty and integrity? Anywho

Very impressed with the venue. Fantastic and well maintained clubhouse, from the deck the greens looked emmaculate, range of beers on tap was something that competes with the best of bars in Auckland. The staff were friendly and very helpful, seriously cannot recommend this place enough.
William C — Google review
Very wet. The fairways had large areas of long grass roped off that our balls disappeared in. The pro shop could have given us a heads up even maybe a discount on green fees. It's a good course with not enough drainage for winter conditions. Lots of elevation in each hole makes for a good challenge but I'll play again in summer. Thanks.
Andrew M — Google review
Unbelievably wet. Some softness underfoot is expected around most courses in winter but after fairly minimal rain during the week the amount of mud on the course is unacceptable. I could take if it was only rough but majority of the fairways our feet were sinking into! $120 is a ridiculous price to be charging under current conditions, numerous courses around Auckland are in better condition for half the price. Terrible value for money, really disappointed

What really stood out beyond the golf itself was the clubhouse experience. The food and drink were top-notch – fresh, flavorful, and served with a smile. The service was genuinely first class from start to finish, with friendly and attentive staff who made us feel right at home. No request was too much. Classic kiwi country course. Rolling terrain parklands style. Decent greens, seems like the greenkeeper does an excellent job. 4 par 3s, varying lengths, accuracy needed off the tee on the longer holes, but not overly penal if you miss, you'llfind your ball and be able to get it back in play. Nice walk, lots of nice trees. Good practice facility, decent putting green, cold beer. Not much service. Enjoyable day.

That is if you can take your eyes off the stunning forest views. They have however really struggled the past few months with flooding and the course fairways do need a good dry out. But they are still very good in most parts. The greens are in fantastic shape however and I'm amazed at how considering parts of the course were under several feet of floodwaters at times! In a normal summer this course will be amazing! Membership is reasonably priced and having played with a few it's easy to understand why they stay members for decades. Changing rooms and clubhouse are modern with a lovely feel to them the 19th hole is a pleasure I'd recommend taking a sober driver with you 😉

Great food and service from Tina and the rest of the team. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here will be back
Alfie J — Google review
One of the rudest golf clubs in the country, especially against younger golfers. One of the staff members seems to never tolerate the slightest lateness. This is hypocrtical, as the club seems to not do much about members who tee off at the incorrect times and play on their own despite being booked to tee off together in the system. That member who teed off at the incorrect time keeps thinking was trying to hit him from behind. He even assualted me. A complaint was laid with the club but nothing was done for over a month. I regret joining this club as a member. I hope the council shuts this place down soon.

Easy even for beginners The condition of green is too slow and a bit boring.

Golf course
Waitemata Golf Club is a historic golf course located between Narrow Neck Beach and Mt Victoria, making it one of Auckland's oldest clubs. Established in 1905, it was named the NZ club of the year in 2019. The course is relatively flat compared to others in Auckland and is conveniently close to the city center. It offers a good layout with well-maintained greens and beautiful mature trees, providing a pleasant environment for both golfers and non-golfers alike.
A well-maintained golf course with beautiful mature trees. Good for walking through, although do be cautious of the sport happening around you.
Jasmine H — Google review
Played recently with a friend. This club is going downhill compared to the last time I was there. Rubbish spilling out of bins, chopped trees not moved, mulch piled high, no management as far as I've seen. Rude office staff and really should do better for what a special course this is. Maybe time for a change to the board / management. I won't be back in a hurry.
Chris S — Google review
Beautiful course in great condition. Nice club rooms with great drinks selection and outdoor viewing deck. Friendly members.

A good little golf course with tight fairways. No long and greens are a little slow but all the drainage has improved it ove the winter months. Great clubhouse

Only few KM from Auckland CBD. Amazing to have such a course close to the city centre.... Great club with friendly and helpful staff.
Rasser S — Google review
A great course to stroll down and hit a few. Located a few kms from the CBD is easy to access. The friendly staff make it an even better experience.

Great service from Harrison via email booking Golf carts & Professionalism & laughter with Cody when the card machine wouldn’t print Great day Great game Kind Regards A

Booked on line for a Sunday lunchtime in middle of groups so turned up and expected it to be busy. The car park was full but no one in the bar which given it has a veranda that overlooks the course basked in sunshine was surprising. The welcoming staff took my order for a full english breakfast and it was delivered to my veranda table. The breakfast was perfect and made all the better by the service and views. As i stroked in a few putts on the ultra fast putting green a lady approached me and asked if i would like to join their weekly groups, very friendly. I had a great game on a flat but interesting course with very true greens. I capped off the day in the bar with 20 others plus it seemed my group won so got money as well.... Great bunch of people, friendly staff, good course, what more could you ask for. If only i had longer in NZ i would have returned

Nestled in the native forest of the Waitakere Ranges, Waitakere Golf Club offers a unique golfing experience. The course is known for being Auckland's steepest, set amidst stunning native bush and abundant birdlife. While not championship quality, it provides an enjoyable round of golf. The hilly terrain presents a challenge, making it unsuitable for a leisurely game but perfect for those seeking a more demanding course.
Very enjoyable course. Well maintained, greens in great condition. Very hilly with lots of interesting and challenging holes. Recommend getting a trundler at least as there’s lots of hills. Will definitely be back.
Pratik C — Google review
As can be expected being in the Waitakere ranges this is a up and down course and I would recommend renting a cart. A lovely course with diverse holes and good bail out areas for the not so braves like me. Super friendly staff and the course is in great condition. Played it a few times over the years and its always a nive outing.
Andre W — Google review
Course was very challenging, I have played over 100 in New Zealand and this is easily the hilliest. Thankfully they had a cart . My mate who always walks was ready to jump in after 3 holes. It is a good challenge. Too tough for me on the day.
John M — Google review
It's a beautiful natural golf course. It was such a good golf course that I wanted to be a regular golf member.
JUN J — Google review
If you want a lazy round of golf this is not the place to go. If however you are in training for the SAS this is the perfect place to hit a few balls. It's very hilly. Do not walk it unless you are a mountain goat. Quite a few of the holes are blind, makes it interesting but frustrating if you haven't played the course before as there's no maps of the holes on the tees so it's up to you to guess where the green is hiding or at least do homeworkbefore playing. The Fairways are in good nick, greens are good too! For the price of a round its amazing value! The holes are challenging but not impossible the back nine in my opinion is much more playable as it's not on the side of everest (also the name of the 9th hole) some really pretty par 3s. 15th through to the 18th are really enjoyable once you catch your breath, can see the clubhouse and start to imagine the cold beers on the 19th. Have played twice with trundler, will defo go again but a cart is a must!
Christopher M — Google review
Beautiful scenary. Longer than usual length compare to other courses and works great if you like a more challenging course. Lots of uphill and downhill walking. Generously wide fairways for those t-box where you can't see the fairway. If you aren't too fit, sharing a cart will make you enjoy the game a little more.
E W — Google review
Stunning location surrounded by bush. Unless you're fit consider a cart as some big hills. Staff were very nice.
Phil A — Google review
I enjoyed the course, it's a good walk , Hilly front nine, back nine is flatter, great setting and the green fees must some of the cheapest around...
