We visited La Mexicana Grey Lynn and were truly impressed. We tried the classic Mexican tacos, and honestly — they tasted just like in Mexico. Authentic, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Special thanks to Cinthia, who took care of every detail to make sure our experience was unique. Her service was kind, attentive, and genuine. If you're looking for real Mexican food in New Zealand, this is the place.

Excellent place!!! The food is authentic, with flavors that truly transport you to Mexico. Every dish I tried was delicious and full of that distinctive Mexican taste. The service was also outstanding; the girls serving were very friendly and helpful. I also tried the horchata juice, and it was really good! Definitely a place worth visiting if you're looking for real Mexican food in New Zealand!!!

As a Mexican, this tacos are good but not the best. The tortillas were way too thick. Salsa was good, pretty spicy. The only thing I don’t like is the fact that you can only order three tacos and this have to be the same, you can’t mix as we normally would in Mexico. Service was great, they were very helpful. Overall I do recommend them but there’s thing that could improve.

These tacos are easily the closest replica of the Mexican street taco experience. These are superb. The taste is glorious, well served, perfect fresh soft tortilla (which is handmade btw). The vegan picadillo was delicious, perfectly seasoned. The cherry on top was the tres leches cake, it was moist, sweet enough and decadent, also it's covered in cajeta (or dulce de leche/caramel). The portion was decent, one slice was just enough for two. Vegan option of the day and the vegan picadillo are the reason I could revive the authentic taco experience (without the meat!). The service and personal attention to customers is also very good. The background music was on point. Nice atmosphere and decoration. It's not just delicious, it's also nostalgic.

Overall this is a great place for tacos. I definitely recommend the carnitas because the flavor and the salsa verde are perfection. The barbacoa was a close second, and carne asada third. I found the birria to be just okay, and the chicken was my least favorite as it didn’t seem to have flavor. The chorizo is probably the spiciest thing on the menu, if you love spicy! I enjoyed the horchata here. I also love that they participate in taco Tuesdays, so you can get a discount on Tuesday!

This place was recommended by my sister, and I would definitely recommend it to others. I brought my friends with me and we had a blast during their 4 to 6pm Happy Hour! The staff are attentive, great service, and amazing food and drinks. Fun tip: try the spicy challenge with your friends! (We ate chicken wings with hot sauces from level 4 to 13.)

This place absolutely rocks. They have the best frozen margaritas that I’ve found on this side of the equator. The bartender Liam is so nice and knowledgeable. Lauren too, wow. I had amazing food and an even better time. Bobby is the man, will be back.

Everything is very good without being overwhelming, don’t expect, 100% Mexican authentic, but close enough and honest to be true to an style and vision from the kitchen to the bar and the service

Popped in to have dinner, and super happy with the overall experience! The food was out quite fast, absolutely delicious as well. I got the fish taco, which was crispy, fresh, and really yum! The drinks are also DIVINE! The service was also 11/10, the team made the whole experience, from seating, to ordering, to payment on leaving, SO easy and friendly. The atmosphere was awesome too! Soft coloured lighting, gentle overhead lights, plenty of space and seating, and the music was at a nice volume too. Can't wait to come back next time I'm in Commercial Bay! Would definitely recommend checking Ghost Donkey out, well worth it!

This place is worth hunting out if you are in downtown Auckland anywhere around the harbour. Service was awesome, food felt authentic and like there was some real Mexican thought put into it. Some of the sauces and garnishes really top things off. Also don't be afraid to order something a little different or not your normal thing, the food is all really good, work outside your comfort zone a little here and you will find great new things. Can't wait to come back for another round.

First time here and the food is delicious and fresh! We got a variety of drinks and they were also yum! Only downside was that it was a bit pricey and the portions were on the smaller side. The fish tacos, while yum, weren’t that filling as a meal. But the ghost donkey bowl was the really good - so much flavour!

What a great little spot! We have just recently moved to a nearby suburb and we had taken a walk up Mt.Albert and found this spot on our walk home/ to find lunch. We had a lovely quick lunch here, chicken tacos and beef birria dorados. Everything was great.

This place was amazing, I have to come back again. The starters filled me up that I didn’t get to have any mains or desserts. Heaps of flavours and cocktails to die for. Very authentic food and highly recommended. Mexican wings yum and jalapeño poppers set fire to your mouth. Will definitely be back.

Can't wait to come back to this fantastic place. The guac was very fresh, loved the cactus tacos, and the prawns tacos were absolutely mind-blowing. The churros, ah, THE CHURROS were divine! The service was great as well. Food came so fast 🥰

tbh I've tried numerous taco joints in akl but this is by far my favourite (honestly rate it higher than brokeboy taco). the food & the service was awesome!!! I will defs be coming back again 😃

Three tacos were rolled up all together like a burrito, was not able to seperate them because corn tacos were sticked together. Meat was cold, not even slightly warm, and flavour was very blend. It was $18. It would be better if it was rolled separately? I dont know much about the Mexican food but surely it was the worst presented food that I tried in few years. So shame. 😞

All I wanted was a fresh Taco while in Auckland and I got exactly that with the most friendliest and humble service. Both myself and my partner came across Mr Tacos and decided to pop in for a quick bite to eat. We ordered 2 beef and 1 chicken tacos, fresh and delicious. Then after talking to the owner we also got a plate of birria tacos, consomme, fresh guac and salsa..... So impressed. If i stayed in Auckland longer I think I would of knocked out the whole menu. Came all the way here and was hoping for some amazing tacos on some real tortillas. Unfortunately they were closed at 8 pm, instead of 10 pm ( like it said on their website) . Very disappointed. The food looks good but didn’t get to try it. Maybe some other time

Tried the free steak taco today outside Onehunga 4square. Loved it. Chipotle hot sauce topoed it off. Ended up buying some products for dinner.

These are the most authentic tasting, fresh and unbelievably tasty tacos. Once you’ve bought the kit, they are so quick and easy to make, the hard work has already been done. I made the mistake of thinking I could microwave the tortillas like the supermarket ones but they must be put in the pan and it was so worth it, they come out hot and crispy. Love them.

I must have been living under a rock because I cannot believe that i’ve only tried their food now (at an event) and I swear to god it was BEST tacos I’ve ever had and served by the loviest people I’ve ever met. Literally a party in your mouth, looking forward to trying their kits.

Nice views with a little rustic feel. The stairs can be daunting in a long dress and place usually gets quite crowded. We were lucky to get a spot without reservation around closing time. It was more of a late night snack but there were other options if you needed more. Mocktails and prawns were yummy.

Central city venue that was convenient to us looking for somewhere in the heart of Auckland...and it was well staffed. I have had better food options here in the past. This time I didn't get the authentication of "tasty" Mexican food. Service was obliging but only after being prompted by us. However staff were very friendly. Sadly the food was not up to previous standards.

The OG Mexican Restaurant in Victoria St for decades. Visited recently after a long hiatus. Thought was closed down..but still operating. The food is decent and suggest stay on the authentic Mexican dishes. I had the fish which had a bit of a fishy smell. For desserts the churros was below bar..but the brownie was good.Otherwise a decent Mexican dishes and atmosphere. From my knowledge this place has been operating from the 80s.

A great Mexican atmosphere with food to match and a busy vibe. Staff were very courteous even under pressure from a busy night. A noticeable wait between 2 meals being served and the other 2 but we didn't mind. Probably not the spot for quiet dinner and conversation but that's not what we were looking for. Went here with a colleague for dinner while we were in Auckland for work. I enjoy Mexican so we thought we would give this place a try. Lovely staff - all really attentive. The wine was nice and we got served a lot of food the price really - however the flavour did lack a little for a Mexican restaurant if I’m honest. I did enjoy mine to an extent, it was all fresh and served very quickly which was good - but I likely wouldn’t dine here again unfortunately. Located in a great spot for people watching though and the cocktails did look good!

Prime location, food is so so. Suitable for work gather or groups. It’s a little pricey but understandable due to location rent and costs etc but you will be sitting right in front of water which is nice. I won’t go into detail about the food because it’s somewhere between acceptable and not bad…, will leave it to your own judgment.

We had dinner at Frida Cocina Mexicana at Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour. The setting is casual and unpretentious — more of a laid-back lunch spot, but it worked fine for a relaxed evening meal. Service was friendly and very quick, which we appreciated. The frozen margarita was refreshing, and the food was tasty and came out fast. Overall, it’s a nice place if you’re looking for a simple, quick, and satisfying Mexican meal in a central location.

Food was amazing, coming from Latin America and living in Australia this is so far one of the best Mexican restaurants in this side of the world I have tried. The pork belly was beautifully cooked and birria tacos were made with corn as promised. Actually quite surprised it doesn’t have better reviews, maybe people is not used to authentic Mexican cuisine and are more into the tex mex stuff???

My go to Mexican restaurant in Auckland! I am originally from Texas where Mexican food is amazing so it’s really difficult to impress me but Frida tastes amazing every time! I usually get their carnitas tacos. They are also the only place I’ve found so far that actually has a margarita machine! Love their frozen watermelon margaritas. Only thing that I don’t enjoy there is their rice, but that’s fine by me!

In summarise the food did not convince me. That staff was very friendly, it was fast to serve, the location is very nice. But because this is a restaurant and food matters, I can not give more than 3 stars.

Hola (hi), we went out for dinner with another couple and ordered some entrees to share plus our main dishes. The service was great and also the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. The food presentation is appealing, but the flavour/taste is okay. Nothing outstanding. Good place to be around the Viaduct, but don't expect a fancy and tasty dine-in.

Honestly, nothing comes closer to the real home cooked Mexican meals than this place. We absolutely love their nachos, chicken or beef, we simply rotate when we are craving it. Food tastes fresh as always and the guacamole is always on point (we always add it in). Happy to support this family run business as they are friendly with fast service regardless of busy times. Easily the best taco I've had outside North America, and it's been consistent for years. We stop by every time we take SH16. However, the consistency also applies to the lack of toilet facilities for several years now, so plan accordingly.

Best authentic Mexican food in Auckland NZ. I had 3 taco and drink(can of soda) combo for 27 I think. My husband had Burrito that was a very big and heavy couldn’t finish it all. I highly recommend to share the burrito. Quesadillas was seems to be very popular. While we are there few customers bought take out of quesadillas. I wish there were proper table to eat. there were some table inside and outside. Inside the shop was too hot to eat. But I will definitely comeback to this place and try other dish.

Burger size is expensive in relation to the $24 price for Beefroot. Would be better to have fries coming together with the burger at that price without having to order separately. The mango sauce (yellow bottle) surprisingly went well with the meat. Service was good. The lady at the counter is efficient and knows what shes doing.

I would give 3.5 stars if I could. Food was a 3 star but service was a 5 star !! I thought the fish burger lacked flavour and the kumara chips were average. It’s definitely a good choice if someone is looking for healthy alternatives... otherwise the food tasted like home cooking.

Good stuff nice service. But food is the problem. Coffee is just mediocre and bit below the standard. The burger patties are way too salty. There is no good beef taste at all. The vegetables are either too sour or tasteless. So called secret sauce can't really taste at all. Overall very disappointed. Don't think will ever come back again. Thanks for the service tho. 2 out of 10.

Decided to pop in when we saw they had a set menu options which we enjoy trying. As a whole, it was an enjoyable time. The coladas were nice, though a bit icy. Food wasn't anything better than expected but took quite a while to come out and as generally pretty pricey. Probably won't be back but didn't regret the visit.

Fresh, proper, tasty tacos in chill, vibrant, open plan eatery & bar. Hand painted murals & warm, relaxed yet professional service. Mexican curiosities cover the walls. There are amazing tequilas, pulled pints and sexy ‘south of the border’ cuisine with a modern twist. Great dietary guidelines with loads of dairy free options! This ain’t no ‘sour cream’ Americanised bollox. Salsa, pickles, mole, emotes… it’s decent!

Food is amazing here. Mexico chicken, croquettes, fish tacos, pork carnitas tacos were the standout. The sangria is very refreshing as well. Service is a little slow (we waited almost 40 mins for tacos because I think they forgot our order). reservations needed for dinner or come after 830pm. The food was amazing here when I came with a few colleagues. The tacos were fantastic (I had the chicken, pork and beef) and the snacks were tried were also great (the corn, croquettes and Mexican chicken). The place does seem slightly crowded though and our food did take a long time to come out, but I'd probably still come here again if I'm craving the delicious food.

Absolute GEM 💎💞 Lovingly made authentic Mexican cuisine 🇲🇽🌮🫠 Absolutely excellent hand-made flatbreads with zingy, fresh, delectable toppings and succulent meats. Perfected, rich, flavourful mole 💯 I was completely blown away by the flavours and textures and the charm of the place. Grandma knows her stuff. They sell food products and serve a menu of incredible dishes. The tequila chutney is heavenly. The guacamole- oh my GHOD - thick chunks of perfectly ripe avocado, expertly seasoned and the home made corn chips are utterly divine. It’s in my top 5 NZ eateries and they don’t serve booze so that is a huge compliment.

Absolutely delicious food and the lime drink!! YUM!! I ordered the vegetarian soft shell tacos (of which you can pick your taco type), the homemade corn chips and guacamole + the lime drink. Absolutely divine. Even got some magic spice to take away. A must try. 🌮

One of my most favourite places to eat. First of all customer service - Grandma is the loveliest woman ever she's very friendly and makes ever visit extremely pleasant . secondly the food- she doesn't always have all the items on the menu as she makes everything fresh and all by herself. Every bite is made with love. From the taco shells, nachos and juice. All handmade and fresh daily. Nothing beats taste and quality with Grandma. Every dish every time is always on point. Thirdly authenticity- I have no idea how grandma knows how to cook like a local Mexican but she makes it the way it is made in Mexico. If you want proper Mexican food come here instead of those chain Mexican Californian style chains. She makes the real deal which is alot better. Only way to know what I'm talking about is to check it out 🙂

Nice, quaint restaurant nestled behind Ellerslie-Panmure highway run by very courteous owners. I went with very high expectations and was a little disappointed. Menu is limited and the food is a little plain (personal opinion). All in all, a nice Mexican restaurant that you should try at least once.

We have been repeat customers for this hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. The place is very unassuming yet you will be blown away by how good the food is. The wonderful old Thai lady is very nice and warm. Would definitely keep on coming back.

My first time trying tacos and wasn't really impressed, my date couldn't eat hers cause it put her off and so I ended up eating it and they were an interesting texture. The beef ones barely had any flavour and the chicken ones were yum but still not spectacular. The drinks though were delicious we had a frozen passionfruit and Mango and highly recommend getting the passion fruit . I will likely not be back here as I found it expensive even on taco Tuesday and the quality of the tacos wasn't something to go out of the way for here. Nice view though and the dining is nice

It was my first time here but not my friends. I love the atmosphere of the place. There pork tacos were good but I loved their beef nachos. We added guacamole and they serve it with good portion. The mango frozen margaritas were the bomb.

Great tacos place!! Very central, great choice on the menu and generous meal sizes even for the small bites. Cevice was very fresh and tangy and the crusty vegies were a great highlight. Very friendly and fast service with a smile. Interior design is well thought through - plenty of woven lamps is a great highlight!

Delicious tacos. Loads of flavour with simple ingredients. Their shrimp taco is always fantastic with nice spices, and so is their fish taco which has a good crunch. Their beef brisket is also decent but my preference is their seafood tacos. Although if I’m honest I think their execution is better in their Queenstown branch. The proteins are better prepared. The sauces are great, and all three version are excellent.

Good tacos, good service, good vibe. It is a busy place. Quick to serve drinks and food. Have tacos, taco bowls, nachos, chips, plus a few other options. I tried two tacos, and the spicy chicken one was my favourite. It is next door to M Social, so it is super convenient if you stay at this hotel.

The chicken was very nice and grilled and spicy enough. But the taco was soft and they did not have crunchy taco, it was very pricey for the small taco as it can be seen on the photo, they served the sauce with as side and wasn't hot enough for me. I liked their taco but won't go there as it was very pricey

It was an absolutely lovely experience; the staff were really kind; very friendly and personal and made me feel very comfortable being there. The food was to die for, I had taco’s as mains with the choices being the Pork Al Pastor. Beef cecina and the lamb barbacoa. All three were absolutely delicious and made me want to order double just to have more. The homemade horchata was refreshing and a must have choice for non-alcoholic beverages with the icing on the cake being the molten chocolate masa cake. The entire meal was far too good with Tacoteca easily earning the #1 spot for best Mexican food I have had to date. Honestly it’s a must go.

Visited to taste the Ora Salmon Aquachile as it was on the list of Iconic Eats for this year, and definitely deserved this accolade! The flavours were well balanced and delicious on a tostada. The other stand out dish was the octopus. The staff were friendly and took the time to explain and recommend dishes. Would recommend a visit to City Works Depot.

Last Friday we came as a big group, some vegans, some vegetarians, some meat-eaters and more people than we had originally booked for. The two women who helped us were so so lovely - making great recommendations and generally being very friendly and accommodating. All the food was declared delicious by everyone in the group and the cocktails were a hit as well. It's nice and relaxed in there and a very fair price for the quality of food and drink IMO. Big fan, thanks for a lovely dinner, looking forward to coming back soon :)

One star because I have to give it to write this review. 3 times I have nearly been hit by cars exiting City Depot ...never looking to see if anyone is on the footpath. The shrubs that make their fence prevent drivers from seeing people on the footpath. Today I was hit by a car exiting...he did not stop and look, just swept out and hit me in my electric wheelchair. City Depot is responsible and accountable for this dangerous situation!

It has a few good restaurants here and some other type of stores as wellbeing and artists. The parking lot has plenty options but are quite tight. Close to Sky Tower and Victoria Park. The Best Ugly Bagels is a go to for a breakfast, the & Sushi a good option for lunch and the Brothers Beer is great for dinner and beers.

Tried to have lunch here. Had to find where the eateries are, if it's your first or 2nd time here. Theres no easy directory board. Shouldn't have to drive around the vast Carpark levels to find them, a big directory board would help. Parking? You need to scan the qr code, enter your rego, card details , expiry date, cvc and then it fails .... 3 times. We got in our car and left. Too hard.

Lovely. I dropped off some food there. I had bought it for a homeless lady, and when I returned to where she was. She wasn't there anymore. So I opted to drop it all off at city works depot. They happily took the groceries. ♥️

Good parking facilities. Parking usually available though parks are narrow as are many inner city parks. Payment method working well as long as app isn't closed before payment is processed and 60c extra can be a high cost for using the app with a short stay

Best Burrito in New Zealand! If you're visiting Auckland CBD and want a burrito this is the place! Authentically Mexican and the perfect blend of spiciness. My wife and I both got the burrito with Chicken Tinga. We will definitely be back on our next trip! To find them go to the 2nd level and go into the commercial bar area, then to the right.

I'm a Mexico City native who has been living outside Mexico for a few years now. I try not to go to Mexican restaurants outside of Mexico because most of the time I get dissappointed. To make it more complex, I'm a vegan. I came to this place because of the promo and got gladly surprised they have a vegan option called "chilli". These tacos remind me a bit of "Cochinita pibil" and were well served. The salsa macha in a molcajete was a good touch, but I think you could increase the heat. The guacamole and chips were ok, but I would have preferred more guacamole than a mix with the other tomato salsa. The people at the counter were friendly and professional., which to me counts a lot. I wish they had more vegan options, but in general found it to be a good place.

I tried the vegetarian taco option (vege chilli con carne). They're tasty and I'd try them again, but as other comments are saying, the tortillas aren't great and the tacos break apart. My last taco desintegrated but still ate it of course. It'd be great if there were a few more vege options please. The chilaquiles are tasty although they're more of a snack version of authentic ones. I love the salsa variety and the people serving the food are super nice.

I am from Queretaro, Tacos were spot on, tortilla was also nice and soft, I tried the pork carnitas very tasty but the flavour reminded me of “cochinita pibil”, in my town pork carnitas are usually accompanied with “pico de gallo” rather than pineapple. Birria taco was perfect! I would 100% recommend this place to friends

The best mole in Auckland. Before getting there, you should know there were two of us and we could not finish all the food, portions are generous. I tried several things in my first visit, starting with the chilaquiles which naturally come without any type of meat. The sauce and chips were on point (as the foundation of chilaquiles this was a pleasant surprise), it does come with an egg sunny side up (which you can ask to remove). I suggest adding the extra chicken protein and having it served hot (the option to have it cold is also available). I then moved onto a carnitas quesadilla which was fantastic, the meat was tender and well marinated. Tasty tasty tasty. Later a taco hatrick: chicken tinga, more carnitas and birria. The birria was the best hands down (chingona! como diría un buen amigo). To end the feast we had the privilege to taste the "enchilada de mole" which will be available late June. How can I explain this to you and give the credit it deserves? Well you have to try it but for starters you could bathe yourself in the aroma. If there was a mole-scented candle I'd make it out of this one. The texture was exactly how a mole should be, the spices make a fiesta of flavours and filled my heart with appreciation. Thank you thank you thank you. Also shoutout to Luke for showing us to the New Zealand-made hot sauce bar with some unique flavours and mix proposals. The picture shows how you should undress the enchilada to showcase the mole as the centerpiece. I will be back for more birria and of course, the mole and I hope to see agua de horchata then :) Final note: Tacos are filling - you can have 2 and be good to go.

Hi! I'm Daniela from Puebla, Mexico. On my visit to Loco Bro's, I tried the beef and lamb birria and pork carnitas tacos. The birria tacos I loved the flavor and tenderness of the meat, however, I think that the sauce they put on the taco lacks a bit of spiciness, so I would suggest removing it from the taco and let each customer add it to taste. Also, I think that including double tortilla for these tacos would be great. On the other hand, the pork carnitas taco does not have the authentic Mexican flavor, so I would remove the pineapple and add some onion. The salsa verde in these tacos, I loved it and it has just the right spiciness. The chilaquiles are very good, very complete and I think the fact that they put fried egg in them adds great value 👌🏼 I thought it was amazing that they had "jarritos" of all flavors, especially tamarind, which is my favorite flavor 😋 Finally, I would like to see "tacos al pastor" and "de asada" on the menu and, as a seasonal special, tamales de salsa verde and pozole. Also, add a 3 leches cake and flan to the dessert menu.

As someone from Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, if you miss the authentic taste of tacos and want to feel at home for a bit, this is the place to visit. I tried the chicken tinga, pork carnitas, and beef & lamb birria tacos: - Chicken Tinga - 8/10: These reminded me of the tacos of cochinita from my hometown. The flavor was spot on. - Pork Carnitas - 7.5/10:These were pretty good. While I usually add pineapple to "tacos al pastor," I enjoyed how it complemented the pork carnitas. - Birria - 5/10:I felt like something was missing. It wasn't bad, but I had high expectations for this one. The tortillas were amazing, just like home. My favorite dish back home is torta de lechón or torta de cochinita. If you're ever in my area, I highly recommend visiting Kinich in Izamal, a small town near Merida.

The food was good; I recommend it. Everything pictured in this review cost $20 NZD. The price seems reasonable to me. A few informational notes: 1) The restaurant is a bright green shipping container. I was expecting a restaurant that you could walk into, but it's more like a food truck. Limited seating, so probably best for take-out. 2) The chips are chips like "fish & chips" or fries. I'm not from New Zealand, but some places called these chips (like they do in the UK) and some called them fries. In the US, if you go to a Mexican place and get chips, they're typically corn chips, like nachos. They were good, so I wasn't disappointed, but not what I was expecting.

Great food here! We expected to get a birria sauce automatically when ordering the burrito, but it turns out we had to tell the staff beforehand. She did offer to give us the birria sauce tho but we were almost finish with our meal when we realized it 🤣 I love the tacos, perfectly cooked and seasoned well. The burrito was also well packed and fulfilling!

We ordered the pork and chicken quesadillas with the chip and drink combo. They were so flavourful and filling, definitely recommended! The chips were neither here nor there but I'll definitely be back to try some of the other menu items.

Incredibly delicious! A hidden gem! That Taco Place on Queen Street is new and definitely worth a try. The Chicken Tacos coupled with a magnificent birria sauce was the best I've had, EVER!

I recently visited the That Taco Place on Queen Street that's an expert in Mexican food. They offer more than 50 varieties of burritos, tacos, nachos, and naked burritos. I tried the chicken naked burrito, paneer burritos, paneer quesadillas, fajitas taco, and loaded fries. Their unique recipes resulted in some of the most delightful meals I've ever had. The opening on Queen Street had been highly anticipated, and it definitely lived up to expectations. They have their own sauce recipes, with the birria sauce being particularly delicious and highly recommended with tacos and burritos. All the ingredients are fresh, and I can confidently say that the price, quality, and quantity of the food are excellent. They have a great combination of ingredients, spices, and taste, which makes them truly unique.

Incredibly delicious food with amazing pricing. Where else am I going to get such large portions for nachos for only 16 dollars?! The service is also great. Definitely a must try gem

We were always fans of Vivace in Fort Street and the new restaurant in the iconic DeBretts Hotel is sure to be another future Auckland restaurant icon. Great hospitality, great food. Highly recommended.

Went here for a nice dinner and was not disappointed. Food were of satisfying portions. The fried squid and fried mushrooms entrees are great. Recommend the gnocchi for pasta. Pizza had the perfect base. My choice of dessert was the dark choc, peanut tart which was rich and delicious. Service staff were great, despite it being a busy night. Overall, highly recommended.

The staff at Vivace are amazing and there is a whole vegan menu which is great. The attention to detail from the staff was incredible. My dining partner ordered me a drink without me knowing it had Prosecco and the waiter came back before making it to advise me the Prosecco wasn’t vegan. I was extremely appreciative. The vegan risotto was quite nice, not spectacular but it was good. The cocktails and the staff were the best part about this place

The service here is exceptional, the food is what we’ve always wanted and expected from Vivace, and the atmosphere is pure De Brett’s, just wonderful. A lovely evening, thank you

Italian-style cuisine with a NZ twist. The entrees are great for sharing, and there is a nice selection of pastas and risottos. Love the beer on tap, and the lovely, friendly service. Great for a business gathering or a date night.

Service was good, with the exception of a difficulty splitting a pizza into a number divisible by 3 for 3 people and processing the splitting of the bill for the pizza. Food was well-made, but tasted more like fusion food rather than authentic Italian food. Environment was good. Will be open to coming back again

I’m search of dessert, I discovered the relocated Vivace in Fort Street. Of course, I was compelled to visit. The staff remained as excellent as I recalled from their High Street days. Interior wise, I loved the rustic charm of the wine and champagne laden wall crates meeting floor with ceiling and showcasing how serious this restaurant is with pleasing wine lovers. My dessert of choice was the black Doris plum and pecan pudding nestled in vanilla custard and jus served with thickened cream. I also ordered a soy latte before long bring beckoned the wine list. The intention to just dabble by having a glass of red evolved into enjoying gorgeous glasses of Lealtanza Reserve Tempranillo, Fiorini Cianti Superiore, Papa Luna GSM and Domaine de Charbonierre Grenache Syrah. This led to trying small dishes of fig mozzarella and honeycomb then smoked kahawai dip with sourdough bread to wash down the goodness. Excellent service, ambience, food and wine was experience so much so that I’ll be back again very soon!

We got the mussels because the oysters weren't available tonight because they hadn't been ordered in. We enjoyed the fish tacos and the chicken tacos, and the pork ribs were pretty good. One recommendation would be for the staff to routinely refill customers' waters without having to be asked; it is just common sense. Also, don't cut back on napkins. We ate the tacos and pork ribs with our hands, so obviously we need more. Apart from that, the staff had a friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was cozy and pleasant.

Amazing atmosphere we had a lovely time! Prawns, fried chicken and jerk chicken were highly recommended, chef’s special dessert must try 👍apparently the cocktails are nice too I'd have to try next time when i don't drive.

Overall I would rate this place a 6/10. The tacos and fried chicken were probably our favourite of the night but they weren’t a stand out. Everything was nice but very average. The pork ribs were not nice, the sauce had a tomato base and it just didn’t taste good, also the ribs weren’t tender. We got the NY cheesecake for dessert that I didn’t like, not a good texture and flavour was way off. We liked our drinks and staff were really onto it. So still a pleasant experience :)

It's our first time here. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great. Every single dish we had were absolutely amazing. Full of flavour. If you love good food. You need to visit Miss Clawdy.

Came early for first table on a Saturday. Service was impeccable throughout the evening, one of the best we've had recently in Auckland. Attentive and pleasant ladies who really worked hard. Was also happy to see normal sized portions, we've been to other places on first table before ,where they've given you smaller portions, so kudos for not treating us differently. Also enjoyed the small bowl of popcorn to snack on while we waited for our food. Nice touch. The Miss Clawdy Punch was the highlight of the evening. Very good cocktail. We also highly rated the onion rings (even the kids liked them) and the Mac n Cheese was a good basic version that picky children will like. Very buttery. Now to the food, which was below expected levels, and the reason we felt that there is not much identity. Chips were lovely but very thickly cut. British style chips rather than fries as we would've expected in an American/South American restaurant. Fried chicken had nice seasoning but was drenched in the Chinese/Taiwanese way using potato starch rather than the American way (think jimijimi style). The crust was extremely thick and with the use of potato starch the chicken ended up tasting very very dry, despite the actual chicken deep within the crust being fairly well cooked. The beef cheeks were soft and fairly well seasoned but cut into thin slices looking more like cold cut starters you get at chu long ji/jokbal which meant that they ended up dry as they were re-heated. Don't see the point in the mesclun on the plate at all. Poutine was not poutine at all -better to just call it loaded fries. There was just bbq pulled pork and cheapo parmesan shavings on top of the fries, tasted ok, but no cheese curds, no gravy (just liquid from the pulled pork). Didn't mind it but needs a name change. The pork ribs were awful. Extremely dry, overcooked and reheated numerous times. The "glaze" was very acidic. Just tasted of reduced tomato paste with some sugar and other seasonings. We struggled to eat this one. The adjoining coleslaw was essentially just old cabbage -we could taste the bitter edge of the cut cabbage, dressed in ETA mayo. Had some three day old coleslaw at home that tasted fresher. Over all. Massive issue with identity. Great service and atmosphere was good, but would've been very disappointed to pay full price for the food.

We ordered the signature dish BBQ Pork Ribs at 6pm and we were told it is not available! Quite disappointed hence the 4 star. They only have two signature dish - fried chicken and pork ribs. The staff suggested for Beef Ribs so we gave it a try. Well I am not disappointed for the beef ribs - it is so soft, cooked till falling off the bone and delectable. Great ambience, interior, and service too.

Lovely ambience, very warm and welcoming staff. Ordered a blackened prawns, chips, calamari, fried chicken taco, and Jambalaya. Our favorite was the Jambalaya, lots of lovely flavors in there with a great kick of spice. Prawns chips and calamari were a nice starter meal to have. Least favorite was the taco, chicken tasted very bland. We finished off our meals with a key lime pie which was great in flavour but quite rich. Overall a lovely vibe and good value for money and accessible.

What an amaizing flavours!! My favourite this time was the beef nachos. OMG!! I was dissapointed by The horchata, does not taste like horchata and it super sweet. The staff was very kind and welcoming.

I had the crispy mushrooms Dorado's and Caesar salad, and both dishes were absolutely delicious, fresh, perfectly seasoned, and full of flavor. The highlight for me was definitely the cinnamon churros for dessert warm & crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and just the right amount of sweetness. What made the experience even better was the service. Our waiter was incredibly well-trained, attentive, and genuinely interested in our feedback. It’s always great when staff check in and actually care about your dining experience. The service was also impressively quick, no long waits, just good food and good vibes.

Really enjoyed the beef loaded nachos. The portion was quite big and well balanced. Service was really fast since it wasn't really busy. The interior looked quite new and pleasant. Staff also was friendly and attentive.

Visited the newly renovated Mexico with a friend on a busy Friday, and the place just kept filling up as the afternoon went on. Despite the rush, the service was flawless—every staff member was attentive, and not once did the hostess seem overwhelmed. It was a complete transformation from my last visit before the renovation, when the space felt empty and lifeless. The difference was like night and day. Now, onto the real stars: the food and drinks. We stuck with their margaritas, and they didn’t disappoint. As for the food, we tried their famous fried chicken, but it fell a little short of expectations. Surprisingly, the standout dish of the night was the Crispy Mushroom & Cactus Taco—completely unexpected and absolutely delicious. Who knew a vegetarian taco could be that good? I could’ve easily eaten five more. We also tried a few other dishes and wrapped up with churros for dessert. While tasty, the churros were a bit too sweet. But honestly, nothing could top that taco! I’d go back just for that and a few margaritas.

Maxico Restaurant Auckland. Highly recommended by the locals. I am glad to visit this place at lunchtime. It was busy and created good vibes. Services are amazing and friendly. Good selection of drinks. The food was so fresh, it came out very quickly. Reasonable price too. I love pork tacos. The pork was so tender and melted in your mouth. We ordered a combination of pork, chicken and fish. I tried the mixed platter with prawns. Highly recommend. Please give it a try!

Great location, good food and nice staff, but the margaritas were so weak. We had ordered pitchers of 3 different kind and they tasted like lemonade. Maybe it’s personal preference, but I feel margaritas should have a kick to them.

I used to love this place — it was one of my all-time favorites. However, during my latest visit it felt like something had changed (perhaps new ownership?) While the staff were warm and welcoming and drinks arrived promptly, the food didn’t live up to what I had come to expect. Unfortunately, we couldn’t finish even half of what we ordered. I hope they can bring back some of the old standards or consistency, as I’d love to see the restaurant return to what it once was.

Great food, high quality and good portion sizes. The restaurant was absolutely packed, and our first choice of main had already sold out. The chefs and wait staff were run off their feet - felt sorry for them. Needed more staff to accommodate that many customers. Luckily everyone seemed patient. One of our mains were missed and forgotten, when asked if we were ready to leave or order more food we had to remind them we were still waiting on food to come. This was quickly fixed and offered half price for this main in particular.

“Mexican in Auckland” 🌮 Tried this restaurant for the first time. SUPER-HOT 🥵 - Diabla Prawns 🦐 👉 really scrumptious but way too hot (drank 4 bottles of water, man it was crazy 😂). As per the online menu, rice is supposed to be served with it, however, dish was served without rice. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It was a super-spicy gravy.🥹 Other dishes were pretty average. Staff was nice, restaurant aesthetics are pleasing. 🙂

Absolutely wonderful service. All the meals we had were so packed full of flavour and not greasy in the slightest. The prices are on the higher side for the portion sizes, but they are so delicious that it is easily worth it. The flavour stays with you the rest of the day and makes you want more. Will be going back for sure!

The decor and ambiance was totally stunning. However the food was really average. We had tacos for lunch and the portion size was tiny. Also the place was a absolutely empty when we reached while all other places were completely full so I wondered why. The two tacos took nearly 50 mins to arrive! Even though there were hardly any other customers. The staff was nice and apologised but really the overall experience wasn't nice at all.

Service was pretty slow here; there was only us and one other table, yet it took over 30 minutes for our order to be taken and our food to arrive. The food was pretty okay, not super impressive but I guess it was quite worth it because this place isn't that pricey! The interior decor is pretty stunning, it's very well done up according to them, pretty nice ambience in there

Clean and tidy with an attentive staff. Decent speed of service. We tried the refried beans and guacamole; both appeared to be home made and tasty. Sadly neither of us liked the corn chips. They were rather hard but the dips helped make up for it. I was pleased with my tuna ceviche. I wouldn't consider this a place for a meal, though. Good selection of imported Mexican beers and Patron, so come for a drink. We will need to try the margaritas another time, but I don't think we would reorder food next time, considering half the menu uses those chips. Doesn't hold up to the standard of the original Besos Latinos restaurant on Elliot St, in my opinion. The general atmosphere, great Mexican food, and Pina Ciladas are something we will dearly miss from their previous restaurant.

Nice restaurant inside Elliott's stables. Love the decor inside. Service was slow. We had someone who was new who was pleasant. Food looked beautiful but i feel it was over done a bit and the bottom part was hard and a bit difficult to cut up

Though it was very busy found the friendly staff very attentive and efficient handling multiple customers at the same time and not missing a beat. Food was very tasty and well presented and great selection of imported beverages which help make the total experience very enjoyable. Parking can be a little challenging during peak periods but well worth the effort 😀

Busy when I visited Saturday for lunch,however service was prompt and efficient. Good $15.50 lunch menu option as well as a full menu option. Wings were tasty and the overall food was plentiful and tasty. Plenty of Mexican beers to choose from as well as other brands. Well worth a visit and the view on a clear day was impressive.

Will definitely come back! So glad I left my cost hotel in the city to visit this authentic Mexican restaurant. The set up, margarita, food and free salsa and corn chips took me right back to my trip through the states. Had the rib special so very happy with the price and the meal was delicious

Busy Mexican restaurant. Come in-early or book early for secure sitting. Indoor & outdoor sitting available. Busy & friendly staff. Pork ribs were tender juicy & off the bone. Tender Grilled chicken served with lots of black beans. Tequila sludge was a bit on sweet side. Try their signature Nachos served with avocado & melted cheese. For birthday parties....staff will sing Mexican birthday songs. Ponchos are provided if your are feeling chilly

The worst mexican food in the country. Tasteless and stale. Paid top dollar, got dog food. The guy at the door was super friendly and seated us, that's where the good stopped. The waitress was pressuring us to order and we felt rushed. Then the food came, we ate some of the starters and left the mains as is. When the waitress saw we left everything including the drinks, she didn't even ask why? I don't know how a restaurant like this will survive in the future, but they will never see me again.

Had dinner. Chicken is halal. Although portions are small. For 28$ the nachos were probably not worth that, but taste was good. Remember you don’t get nachos the way you get them US. For some reason kiwis love to put cheese on it and that too mostly cheddar. Chipotle prawns were spicy and good. 29$. Chicken burrito was ok. Once again not worth 28$. Overall 3.5 for taste and 3/5 for value. once a visit definitely.

Loved it, my son took me for dinner for Mother's day as he'll be working tomorrow. AWESOME service, AWESOME food, great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, will definitely be back at some stage.

Delicious food and friendly, flawless service! Highly recommended! The Thai-style pork ribs and chicken skewers were full of flavor, while the crispy chicken rice and Pad Thai are generously portioned - perfect for sharing. The roti and pork bun were also a hit. Portions were so generous we couldn’t finish everything and took the rest home ($1 takeaway box). The only downside is the limited free parking. Overall, an ideal spot to enjoy delicious, authentic fusion Thai dishes in a relaxed, casual setting with friends or family.

The environment feels like being in Thailand. The tom kha soup was a bit disappointing, but the Thai milk tea was authentic and delicious. I recommend the pork skewers.

Our go to place if we are good thai food. Sticky ribs and pad thai still best of quality and generous serving. Staff service was awesome thanks to the amazing manager Lorenzo. Will keep coming back and will spread the word to our friends/guests to try this resto.

Kiss Kiss was an awesome place to meet, chill and farewell one of our dear friends. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the chicken bao and the crispy pork!! The ginger fizz was nice too! A lovely place to dine, staff we're fantastic and friendly too.

The food is decent here. It's a nice change to have Thai food in an area that is otherwise dominated by East Asian cuisine. I enjoyed it. The decorations and atmosphere in general was vibrant and made this restaurant stand out compared to others in the area. Kiss Kiss is a nice place for a date dinner with your partner or a group of friends. Lastly, the service from the staff was excellent. All of the team was efficient at their work and polite to my friends and I. In particular, I would like to mention Quinn who was very hospitable to us. Thank you.

We went out for date night and ordered the meat platter for 2, mac and cheese large and small cornbread alongside 2 cocktails and apple pie for dessert. Meat platter: good value for money and delicious. Pork ribs were a hit dry and didn't fall off the bone like you would hope. Rest of the platter was delicious with a range of sauces available. Also game with pickles, slaw and chips which meant we likely didn't need to order the corn bread and mac and cheese as well but was worth trying. Cocktail: sub par at best, wouldn't go for cocktails but since it's a brewery I suppose the other drinks available would be better. Apple pie: was tasty but overpriced for the portion size. Base was incredibly hard and sauce didn't taste homemade. Would go again purely for the platter.

Great atmosphere and delicious food! Only issue I have are the pint sizes and cost. It’s almost embarrassing! For a beer spot too. Imagine how many more customers there’d be with pints at the prices they’re given

Have been a regular visitor to Brothers Beer, but this time we went for beer tasting. They do serve matching bites with each beer as well. The variety of beer they brew is always interesting. One can brew their own hops as well. The people serving were absolutely amazing, and very friendly as usual. So many vivid choices of beer, you might love some, and you probably will hate some. But the experience this place provides is unparallel. A must go for all beer lovers !!!

Had beers and dinner here with some friends Booked an outdoor table which we reserved and was ready on arrival. Great selection of craft beers good outdoor area for kids to play in. Food: ordered meat platter for 2-3 was ok portion size more like for 2 ppl , pulled pork was mushy , brisket good, lamb good , ribs were dry average , chicken wings 10/10 , chips nice and crunchy and the slaw was average taste like supermarket packet overall all 7/10 Kids enjoyed there meals and chicken burgers…

Nelson is a legend, great overview of the craft tap bears, good service. I had the pork ribs and brisket burger and Park Hazy, all highly recommended.

I came here for lunch yesterday. The restaurant was a bit cold, so I probably wouldn’t visit during the colder months. We ordered the meat platter, which tasted very good and was great value for the price. The only downside was that some of the meats weren’t as hot as I would’ve liked possibly because our table was further from the kitchen and the place itself was a little chilly. Aside from that, the food was delicious and very affordable, and I’d definitely come back again!

The food itself was reasonably nice but the service from the staff was extremely poor. No one greeted us when we arrived. We were waiting at a table for about 15 minutes until we asked a staff member who was cleaning tables. He told us we needed to order at the bar. We didn't mind but the fact that it was quiet, lots of staff walked past us and no one told us. We ordered some drinks with our dinner, and the staff forgot to bring our drinks out. We had to remind the staff as they walked past our table, his reply was "oh that's right, I forgot". When the staff brought our food out they didn't bring any cutlery. We ended up grabbing some ourselves from another table. We were the last people in the restaurant around 7:30pm and the staff were hanging around our table waiting to grab our plates as we finished. They even turned some of the lights off as if they were hinting they were closing up soon. Made us feel very uncomfortable. They also had two platters. One was $70 and the other was $130. $130 platter is supposed to feed 4-5 people. We has 2 adults and 3 kids (ages 6, 9 and 13). We thought the platters were very small and it was lucky we had 3 kids with us because if that was 5 adults it wouldn't have been enough. I would say that platter would only be big enough for 3 adults. I never got a chance to see the size of the $70 platter but my guess is it would only be big enough to feed one adult. They apologized at the end of the night after my partner made a complaint and they offered my kids some ice cream but that definitely didn't compensate us for the extremely poor service.

Absolutely love the food here! I always get the quesadillas and eat it all up every time. The service was also great, the staff were attentive and fast. The interior is nice and clean, just in the day there are a lot of wasps inside especially in the sunny areas near the windows.

Very good food and had an authentic Mexican dining experience. 5 stars would def recommend coming here.

Dined here on a Sunday night. Was a quiet spot to have a decent feed. Ordered the variety of frozen cocktails and small share platter as pictured.

Mama NO-no Came to Mama Loco hoping for a Mexican fiesta... left feeling like I got robbed with a side of lime. We ordered the Adobo Tacos $18.90 for TWO tacos that tasted more like “I-don’t-know” than adobo. If you’re going to charge that much, at least let my taste buds travel to Mexico, not... confusion. Then came the chicken burger for around $20. Bland, basic,nothing special. Even the chicken seemed like it wanted to escape. The fried chicken was the final slap $21 for 4 sad pieces. FOUR. That’s over $5 a limb. Was it massaged by angels? Raised on classical music? No? Then explain the price. Honestly we got all chicken and they all tasted the same. Only thing that slapped was the frozen margarita, the drink was the real MVP, probably because it numbed the disappointment. Proceed with caution (and maybe a flask)

Freya and Brianna were amazing staff, they delivered our food quickly and were very sincere and kind. The atmosphere was very chill and lowkey. The music was a vibe and overall a lovely experience and food.

Their genuine smiles, attentive service, and infectious enthusiasm made us feel right at home. They went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect, from recommending the best dishes to keeping our drinks topped up without missing a beat. The food was bursting with authentic Mexican flavors—fresh, zesty, and perfectly spiced. The mamas fried chicken were highlights, and the quesadillas were spot-on! Tahiti and Marovot’s personalized touch elevated the entire experience, making it one to remember. Mamaloco Albany is a gem, and with servers like these two, it’s no wonder why. Can’t wait to return!

The cocktails by Tahjai and her colleagues are amazing! Can't remember what I had but it started with a B, like a peachy sweet tequila that sneaks up on you, so don't over do this one. Only suggestion would be to update photos of their drinks menu because I did peruse to no fruitful use. 10/10 for recommendations and comfortability. I'll be back :D

I ordered the Queso, fried chicken, and tacos — and every single item was packed with flavour. The Queso was rich and cheesy, perfect for starting things off. The fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. And the tacos? Just wow — fresh, vibrant, and full of bold Mexican flavours. I paid around $70 and honestly, it was worth every cent. The portions were generous, the ingredients tasted super fresh, and the overall vibe of the place was great. Friendly staff, good service, and a menu that’s clearly made with care. Can’t wait to go back and try more! Highly recommend if you're in the area and craving something delicious. 💯

Absolutely delicious, we loved everything we ordered. Owner is lovely. Would recommend the Mexican street corn, Plato Delgado and white Sangria. Garlic prawn tacos and chipotle chicken chimi are a close second 🌮

Really disappointed with the food. Came here in the weekend and had the guacamole, fried chicken tacos and pulled pork quesadillas. The food was bland, not flavourful and it seemed like they were made from old ingredients from the night before. Both my partner and I did not enjoy the food. I absolutely love Mexican food but I would have to say this is the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. Would not come here again sorry.

One of the best, if not the best Mexican places in Auckland. From the atmosphere, to the service, to the food. Its an amazing experience through out. Had their limited edition Chicken Garlic Bread when I visited and it was so delicious. I was made to feel at home and loved all the different spices and flavours. Would definitely reccomend if youre looking for some great Mexican on your night out. Will be back for sure.

An excellent dining experience! All the food was fresh and tasty- jalapeño rellenos, chili con queso, taco al pollo and quesadilla de pollo. Nothing could be faulted. Plus the staff were friendly

Visiting this central Auckland branch over the weekend was one of the best decisions I made! Was served promptly with wonderful service and delicious food after great recommendations by the team! The classic Chilli Con Queso was a hit and was accompanied by some flavourful pan fried chicken and mango tacos. The margaritas were so refreshing even in the winter. Can’t wait to visit again and make my way through this menu! Thanks guys!

Wow… Inca by Nic Watt - such amazing food, cocktail - naughty martini in the right martini glass is the best ! Sashimi , black cod , tuna rice cake is so good. We loved this place! It’s worth every penny .

Gathered here for a catch dinner with friends on a friday evening. I will definitely recommend this place and be coming back, the service was wonderful, 2 lovely friendly waitresses attended our table. The food was amazing, the clean plates said it all, the cocktails were equally delicious.

Had such a lovely dinner here last night. Did it through first table where we had to get the $128 set menu. So much delicious food, including sashimi, ceviche, guacamole, steak. Lovely atmosphere. Will definitely go back.

Our Server Iris was so attentive! And ask us every now and then if we need anything or how was the food. And even took lit photos of me and my partner.! You could tell they genuinely cared about our experience. Big thanks for the great service!

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at inca. The service was great. They were very accomodating and kept checking that the food was okay and removing empty plates. The Japanese Peruvian fusion menu Was delicious and really worked. Highly recommend.

Food was below average. Most food tasted ok, not recommended. E.g. The steak was pretty dry. The food was served pretty slow. The atmosphere was good. The price for drink was good. Might grab a drink here again.

My wife and I had a fantastic dinner here. Hannah and Colin were both fantastic hosts by being attentive, friendly and considerate throughout our visit. The aubergine on the set menu was wonderful. So delicious. We'll definitely visit this spot again in the future. Thanks to the great team at Inca for a lovely date.

Fish tacos = outstanding. We arrived right on opening time and people had already queued outside before the door had opened. We shared the battered fish tacos and an order of crispy calamari between two. The fish tacos are generous in size and the calamari is a decent portion. I found the calamari too greasy for my liking, but the fish tacos are worth the visit.

We were on our way home to the North shore and decided to stop into this place for a follow up visit. Oh my gosh, the fish tacos and fried halloumi at Fishsmith are absolutely amazing! They really know how to make fish and chips shine.

We had todays catch but server didnt mention What it was, battered oyster n haloumni cheese and everything was Perfect. Chips was average. Could put out more seats or bar stools as there was only 1 big table outside.

This has always been my go-to fish and chips shop, and they consistently make some of the best fish and chips I've ever had in Auckland. The fish is always fresh, and the batter is always perfectly crispy and flavourful, and the chips are always crispy and fluffy. The staff are extremely friendly and they always care about what they're serving.

We wanted to eat the best fish and chips in Auckland and this came in the top list so we give it a go.. Well you will not be disappointed, we got 2 Supper salmon meal, kids fish & chips Meal and a fish burger.. and they are so yummy! My son loves the crispy crumbed salmon, he prefers mine and he ate half of my fish 😅 comes with fresh greens and large portion of chips.. wish you can get more of the sauce, as it is just too small for a supper meal.. But definitely will come back!

Over the last 4 years I come here once every couple of months and always enjoyed their fresh snapper and chips. Today was a different experience, soggy and very oily mushy chips that tasted frozen rather than their fresh Agria potatoes and a VERY over cooked snapper that was dry (certainly not fresh) with really thick stale batter. I ordered online and the prices have increased quite a bit and I was also charged a surcharge which never used to happen, very disappointing given the decrease in quality. I didn’t eat much of it, although what I did eat has left me feeling pretty sick :( Unless the quality increases, I won’t be going back :(

This place was really nice. The design was great. The selection of games was amazing. However the price for food was getting abit expensive. We ordered a Platter to share and it was very small, it said it feed 3-4 people it wasnt enough. The staff was friendly, but didnt offer any help in terms of how to play games. Perfect place for a game night. Except far too loud.

I love this place! Drinks and food are fantastic. The traditional margarita I had was amazing! The mystery shot is also a fun thing to do, where you roll a 20-sided die and get a shot based on the number you rolled. The games are in good nick, and there is a great variety. I’ve also been to a few events here, and the events are super affordable and fun. Can’t recommend a visit enough!

So glad we stumbled across this place. Wish we found it earlier, we could’ve stayed here for hours. The atmosphere was awesome, the food was not only value for money but was so yummy. The guy serving us was so nice and welcoming. The coffee they made me was the best coffee I had on our trip.

A cool idea to combine dining and board games together. Great for dates and group gatherings. The staff were helpful and friendly, and I was really impressed by the food. I wasn't expecting a lot from the food selection (thought it would all be finger foods) since I thought the main draw was the board games, but the food was actually really good. The chicken burrito and Korean Bulgolgi bowls were very flavourful, well seasoned and had generous portions. I ate my cheeseburger so fast because I was so hungry but the burger was nice, it had a thick juicy patty with very beefy flavours. We also braved the spicy chicken tender roulette, it was a bit expensive, $20 for only 6 tender strips, but one of them was super spicy, and we had a ball taking turns to see who got it. We played "Articulate" and it was a lot of fun. I did hope the board games were a little better maintained as ours was falling apart. I suppose the staff are busy and it's a bit difficult to keep track of the wellbeing of all of those board games. There was a wide range of game selection, and a great team bonding experience. I would love to return again with friends.

Came here for lunch with my family and really enjoyed our time. The place has a great atmosphere with large tables and a ton of foods and drinks available to order. They have about 2 shelves of board games available to play for FREE - as long as you order food and/or drinks. The staff seem very professional and the place seems very well run.

Good selection of board games, but the staff constantly interrupted us to try and pressure us into ordering more food and drinks. We had all ordered a drink and a meal so it wasn't like we weren't already spending quite a bit of money with them! The constant interruptions every 5-10 mins felt unwelcoming and stressful, and completely took away from the fun of the games. I think this place would be much better if they just implemented a clear cost per hour, rather than constantly harassing customers to spend more. I wouldn't go back based on how it's currently run.

Fork & Dice is hands down one of Auckland’s coolest spots! The staff are genuinely passionate about games and incredibly friendly, which makes the whole experience feel welcoming from the moment you walk in. The cozy atmosphere with the fireplace always going strong makes it easy to lose track of time. We’ve found ourselves there so often that we stayed until the chairs were put up for cleaning! The laughter and fun flow freely, whether you’re deep in strategy or just enjoying casual games. Great food, awesome drinks, and an unbeatable vibe. Perfect for a relaxed night out with friends or a unique date. Highly recommend!

BEWARE! This is a cool restaurant, with good food at good prices. But their carpark is now being operated by a predatory management company (Smart Compliance Management) that uses cameras to monitor anyone coming in or out. If you park longer than 15/30 minutes any time of the day or night, you will receive a menacing letter in the mail, demanding $65 and threatening to increase the fine by $20 if you haven’t paid within a couple weeks. Mexicali has an iPad you can enter your license plate into, that allows you to park for longer. But their signage incorrectly infers that this only applies between 9am and 5:30pm. It doesn’t. I was there after 5:30pm and was still issued with a fine. The whole experience has meant I don’t really want to go to this restaurant anymore

After long time had great fun with friends… amazing atmosphere… with humble and helpful staff. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy great evening with friends and family… Loved it❤️

I am not a person to write reviews but I am appalled. I hope Mexacali Fresh will take this feedback seriously and improve their food safety standards to prevent such incidents in the future. I urge potential customers to exercise caution and for the management to ensure stricter hygiene practices and fresh food. I visited Mexacali Fresh on Friday and ordered x2 California Burritos. Unfortunately, we were served something other than chicken. I took two bites and realised the order was wrong. We started to drive back (10 min drive) I started feeling very ill in car ride back. I explained to the servers we have the wrong order and showed the burritos they told us that the meat is chicken. You can see from my photos below the meat is brown and red. My partner thought his was tuna (not realising I ordered chicken). The staff were extremely rude and did not offer any compensation. Upon my partner almost throwing up at the counter other people eating started to notice what was happening and we were refunded and hurried out the door. With two bites of the food I have ended up extreme food poisoning and so has my partner.

The food was fine. I met an old friend for lunch on Friday August 29. We spent about 1 hr and 10 min there. What really pissed me off was that I got a $65 ticket fine for parking there. It said I overstayed at the car park or not validating my car. What a crab experience with this parking bullshit! Nobody should come to this restaurant if this is how they treat their paying customers.

PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE don’t waste your money. Worst experience rude staff and the owner is so stingy they have reduced the portion size from all other Mexicali trying to be super cheap. And using expired food. The salad was watery and didn’t taste good. We had it yesterday and all of us at the office who had it got sick today.

Commercial Bay is such a vibrant and modern spot in the heart of Auckland. I love the variety of shops here – from international brands to unique local boutiques. The Harbour Eats food court is fantastic, offering so many different cuisines at reasonable prices. The design of the space is bright and inviting, making it a great place to shop, eat, or just hang out. Definitely one of my favorite places in the city.

A great ‘go-to’ for when you have a couple or group that isn’t sure what they want to eat or has very different tastes. A nice environment with great variation in cuisine upstairs and light shopping downstairs. Nice little hidden gems and cool spot to hang out and have a cold one.

One of my favourite places in Auckland to hang out! Amazing food court with lots of food options. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options available! Nice shops and a very pretty building. Free wifi, clean toilets. A great place to stroll around and spend some time. Directly next to the harbour and in a great location.

Aside from the Black Angus dry-aged steak, which was somewhat underwhelming and unremarkable in flavor, the rest of the dishes were excellent. The fish main course stood out in particular — cooked with perfect precision, remarkably tender, and beautifully complemented by the distinctive use of pomegranate. Both the service and the ambiance met expectations, creating a refined and well-rounded dining experience.

Advieh is most probably one of my fave restaurants in Auckland. Came here two years in a row to have a birthday celebration and it didn’t disappoint. The restaurant is chic, service is on point and food is amazing. This year we had their banquet menu and it was just so satisfying. Walk out so full that we all agreed that there will be no dinner for us. Definite must try if one is into the Akl foodie scene.

Tonight we have the Advieh Signature Banquet .Each plate intricate layers of depth and flavour igniting a sensory journey that's both delightful and daring and every bite is an invitation to explore uncharted territories. Each and every dishes provides vibrant tastes and captivating aromas.Our first dish Freshly baked Turkish pide, za'atar, whipped Advieh butter. This is a next level of flatbread, yum yum delicious. Oysters , smoked yoghurt dressing, harissa XO, radish, pickled shallot. Oysters very fresh but the sauce a little powering for the Oysters. Puy lentil hummus, fried sujuk, whipped tahini, nigella seeds , this is exactly what we need in everyday life for spread, amazingly simple but delicious. Tamarind glazed pumpkin, Fernglen Farm cheese, chilli crisp, tahini, hazelnut dukkah. SERIOUSLY ! never have pumpkin crafted so magically delicious. Haku kingfish, Aleppo cure, tamarillo, pomegranate, fresh mint, chilli. Kingfish was very fresh and the sauce , out of the world. For main we had Fish Doctor Stew, Boarfish, cockles, winter greens, preserved lemon. The Boarfish is very different. This dish had to eat hot & fast otherwise it had a fishy odour. Then we had Fifty Five day aged beef, red chermoula, fried buckwheat tabbouleh, yoghurt dressing. This marriage brought together a testament to its innovative approach only the beef is a dash chewy. Little gem lettuce, shaved Lebanese cucumber, fresh mint, chopped almonds, pomegranate Quinoa tabbouleh, roasted cashew, golden raisin. Both of this dish goes so well with the main . Truly delicious . This art of a food has flavours seamlessly weaves into my taste buds. Lastly for dessert we had Lebanese 'sfouf, turmeric cake, orange marmalade, orange blossom ganache, passionfruit crisp, is a traditional Lebanese semolina cake , beautifully made, amazing texture & flavour. What a unique night with unforgettable flavours that makes this truly memorable. 🍷🍷🍷

We had a wonderful time staying at the InterContinental Hotel this weekend for our wedding anniversary. We booked for dinner in Advieh on Saturday evening and the experience was nothing short of AMAZING. We had the pleasure of being looked after by beautiful Malia who was the most lovely and engaging person. She patiently talked us through the menu, made great suggestions about menu choices and nothing was too much trouble for her. We ordered a scampi and crayfish starter and the chicken liver baklava starter - absolutely delicious. We then had the Ribeye steak on the bone and the executive chef Gareth Stewart came to our table and served it all to us, taking every care to explain all the flavours etc. He was super lovely and obviously very pasionate about the food and the restaurant. The steak was divine. We had a wonderful bottle of Rose wine from FROMM winery and when we ordered desert to share it came with Happy Anniversary piped in chocolate on the plate. We felt so special and cared for - would 100% dine there again. Thank you so much to the whole team 😊❤️

Went to Advieh for my birthday and the service was outstanding and personal. We chose the “trust the chef” menu, which turned out to be great value with a generous amount of food, perfect for sharing. The Turkish pide with Advieh butter was a highlight—I don’t usually order bread, but this absolutely blew us away. The butter was nutty, creamy, and slightly sweet, while the bread was fluffy, warm, and fresh. The oysters were incredibly fresh and full of flavour. The Haku kingfish was a touch acidic and the tamarillo very ripe, though that’s likely just our preference rather than the technique. The steak was cooked exactly to our request, a perfect medium rare, and the puy lentil hummus was packed with flavour, fresh, and beautifully warm. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I’d definitely come back to explore more of their menu

I've been here many times, especially when there's a new menu, and I always bring friends and everyone loves the food! I came back again tonight with another friend, and everything was amazing. Brian, Malia, and Becca were incredibly friendly and attentive, our empty plates were cleared quickly, and they took such great care of us. We were too full to try dessert this time, but I’ll definitely be back again soon!

Good Appetizers. Came in for restaurant month. The fish doctor stew pulled the score down. Not fit for sharing unless you were a couple. Also on the small side, two mains between 5 people. Flavour was there, but no spoons provided made tasting the stew component very awkward. Also, hard to tell whether the fish stew if ordered as a main would be much bigger portion wise. What was served for our group of 5 was literally rach person have a small bite of fish and a shellfish or two. Luckily the chicken and Tabbouleh were tasty and fit family style shared dishes.

Few weeks ago found Mint Cakery and have since tried beef cheese pie, both flavours of sausage roll,cinnamon scroll and hot chocolate. in my 20plus years of traveling around Auckland and trying local cafe food this is by far the best place the food and service is the best quality around. Seriously the food has come from Heaven!

The lemon and boysenberry cake I got for my mums 65th was outstanding. I had so many people come up and ask where it was from and say how amazing it was. Highly recommend

Came after watching Michelle on Tik Tok and purchasing her recipe book quite some time back. Her cakes are just as amazing as they look. The hot chocolate was really nice with that chocolate marshmallow! Loveeeeed that lemon curd cake .. soooooooo good !!!!! Would definitely come back for more. The lady that served me was also very nice 👌

We live in the UK, our daughter in Auckland as she was celebrating her special birthday with friends I wanted a cake for them all so I emailed Sam at Mint Cakery who happily obliged with an amazing lemon and boysenberry cake delivered on time with no dramas. Zoe was thrilled with her surprise and loved by her friends too. Perfect in every way. Recommend them every time for service, delicious cakes and lovely Sam.

Dropped into Mint Cakery because I stumbled upon their new cookbook at paper plus this week, and thought I had to try it out before buying the book. Wasn’t disappointed. Cinnamon bun was really great - super moist with a generous amount of cream cheese frosting. The gluten free chocolate raspberry cake was just as good. Haven’t tried the donut yet, but I’m sure it will be amazing. Thanks guys!

Great food but budget coffee brand. Was my daily stop for a morning coffee and snack until the one day I dared turn up 2 minutes before opening time and gingerly knocked on the door wondering if they'd be interested in making me a coffee 2 minutes before the official opening. I was caught well off guard by the angry and rude staff member who informed me they weren't open. I went back to my car which by then there was 60 seconds until opening time, it felt too awkward to go back again, she obviously wasn't in the mood to serve people, so rather than bother her I went elsewhere and have never been back. You can't talk to your daily customers like that and expect them to return. I made a poor judgement call thinking you'd be OK to serve a coffee 2 minutes before opening. If you don't like your job or can't act civil to the people paying your salary, probably time you moved on.

Loved the ambience, food, cocktails and service. A charming little spot that does it right. Our top two dishes were the duck tacos and the eggplant. We were too full to order desserts so I’ll have to come back to give the sweets a whirl.

Really lovely little restaurant. Nice cosy atmosphere. Staff were warm and knowledgable. Food was amazing. Favourites were the raw fish tostada (too good to share), sweet and sour mushrooms, the duck carnitas and the lamb (really generous portion). Drinks were delicious especially the rhubarb sour.

This is my 3rd time at Ragtag and I don’t know how each visit is better than the last. Truly one of the best restaurants in Auckland - they know how to make dishes that have the most beautiful flavour combinations but keeps it simple at the same time. The octopus tostada has to be one of the best things i’ve eaten this year. Of course the duck tacos are a must too! Also drinks are so yum I ended up having another kaffir lime margarita Even their sticky toffee pudding was perfect - with a generous amount of caramel without being overly sweet Amazing stuff!!

That said, a few dishes were overwhelmingly salty, particularly the beef nuggets and lamb, so we’d recommend choosing those with care. T bone steak source was tasting, however the meat has a bit overcooked could taste bitter. The service was friendly and attentive, and the cozy atmosphere makes it a nice spot for a casual catch-up with a couple of friends. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but there’s plenty of street parking nearby, which is a plus.

Everyone seems to talk about the duck tacos here but my friends and I think the stand out dishes were the tostadas we got (raw fish, prawns and octopus). They definitely don’t skim on ingredients, the tostadas were packed full of toppings/fillings. The combination of flavours were outstanding and not typically something you’d find in NZ restaurants! The eggplant dish was so crispy and flavoursome - has got to be one of the top eggplant dishes in the city. The t-bone was cooked to absolute perfection. It had a nice sear to it, just the right amount of salt, and was juicy/tender - everything you want in a steak. I would say it was great value for money too. Paid just under $90 for all this food (split between 5 of us) plus I got a cocktail and wine too!

One of the best meals we’ve had EVER. No wonder why they’re always packed up. The food was extraordinary, staff was SO nice, and the place was just very chill and well thought out. Food is a mix of different cultures, which makes it so complex but with simple good quality ingredients. Just amazing!

Loved our meal at Ragtag! The vibes were great, it’s such a cute old house turned into a restaurant. All the food was delicious, and the standout dish for me was the carrots, I’ve never experienced a veggie dish like that before! We tried the raw fish, carrots, quesadilla, beef nuggets, duck tacos, and the toffee pudding. Drinks were great too, and this was the only photo of the night 🤣 The only reason I’m not rating this a 5 is because of the kitchen table. I thought it was a pretty cool idea until I actually got there. I assumed sitting next to the kitchen would mean a more interactive experience, but the staff never spoke to us unless I asked a question. It would’ve been nice if they made it feel more like an experience rather than just another table. This isn’t a complaint, but incorporating a bit more interaction or entertainment would really elevate the overall experience.

Urbanaut Brewery and Tap Room, a fantastic experience! As someone who appreciates good vegetarian/vegan options, was impressed with their offerings. It's not always easy to find a place that caters so well to plant- based diets. It's true that the food isn't fast food, so don't expect the a quick bite. The dishes are clearly made with care, and the flavors are amazing. The space itself is open and inviting, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, which really added to the positive vibe. And of course, for the beer lovers, this place is a must-visit. They have a great selection of brews, making it the perfect spot to try something new with some amazing food. I highly recommend Urbanaut!

I attended the brewery tour. It was really informative, the host was very knowledgeable and did a great tour. We stayed for dinner after the tour at burgernauts which was great. Highly recommend the cheese burger fries and the burgers were great to. The tasting board really allows you to try the vast selection of beers.

Doing the Beer Mile. Urbanaut should be your first stop. Grab a delicious burger to fuel your adventure and definitely get the Blueberry Cheesecake Hazy. Will not disappoint One of our favourite Breweries in New Zealand.

My friends and I did the brewery tour recently. All up it was about an hour. It was informative and interesting. It was one of the better brewery tours I’ve done. The team members were super friendly too. We were able to sample some of the beer too. The Copacabana IPA was a highlight! Had the classic smash burger and some chips afterwards - both were delicious.

I went for a tour and tasting at Ubernaut Brewery and Taproom. We got an up-close look at the craft of brewing, learned about the brewing process, discovered why craft beer has transformed the industry, and what makes their brews stand out. During the tour we tasted a pilsner from the one of the ice cold tanks. It still had a lot of sediment and a lot of yeast. It tasted like liquid bread. We saw how beer is made from barley to bottle (can actually) and how the East Indian Company influenced the use of hops and how Indian Pale Ale (IPA) was born. The canning and labeling process was also very interesting. We had a very knowledgeable and passionate guide, which made the tour very engaging. There is an amazing variety of interesting beers, ales, stouts, sours, and ciders. My favourite was the salted caramel stout, strawberry sours, and blueberry cheesecake IPA. It was rounded ofd with some bacon chips (if you book through Grab One). It's the perfect tour for people who enjoy beer or even if you don't, because these flavours are very interesting and tasty, there's sure to be something to tickle your fancy. Side note: I was very impressed with their extensive vegetarian and vegan menu items

Always a great experience eating here, amazing vegan food, good beer, impeccable playlist, and this time they had delicious mulled wine 😍 perfect for a rainy day.

I just wanted to say a big thank you for such a wonderful experience. Our tour guide was absolutely amazing — full of energy, friendly, and so knowledgeable. We really enjoyed everything he shared with us. The venue, the beer, and the food were all excellent, and the whole experience made for a perfect birthday celebration for both my husband and me. Friendly service and tasty meals. Really enjoyed my lunch at De Nada on a Friday, it was quite quiet and I was served really promptly, which was great. Only recommendation would be putting hot sauce on the tables 🙌

I have not had such a bad experience in a while. Firstly I tried to get hold of the restaurant to bring our booking forward. Between my partner and I we called 21 times, each time going to voice mail. I then tried to go online, clicking on the link to make changes on your booking, and the link only allowed me to cancel my booking, not change the time. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt and drove out thinking they might be very busy (it is Saturday night after all) and to my absolute surprise, found that they didn’t even have one customer. This left me speechless. When I asked about the phone not being answered, the answer was “it’s probably connected to my boss, I don’t have a phone in the bar”. This is the number on their website and the one in the confirmation email you receive, so what’s that all about? The staff were standing outside having a smoke… pretty poor if you ask me. There are four other restaurants side by side and all were fully booked and every table had patrons. We ended up having an amazing dinner just three doors up at Gina’s. Amazing service, exceptional food and an overall 10/10 experience. Unfortunately in order to post I mee rate at least 1 star, they deserve zero stars. DE NADA gets a 0/10 and should probably close the business, they are not interested in customer service at all. We dodged a bullet…

We were excited to try a new mexican in Auckland, only to be highly disappointed. Firstly, they were highly understaffed - on a Saturday night they only had one waitress. The nachos were very oily and bland, really lacking flavour and had no fresh toppings. Not even fresh cheese, they had a fake watery/oily cheese sauce poured ontop. They also had no sour cream, which for nachos + being a mexican restaurant… is bizarre Unfortunately won’t be back and do not recommend.

Came with my friends, fiid was authentic, drinks were really nice aswell recomend coconut pineapple margarita it's like a pina colada but margarita version. Food and drinks came fast. Has heater and if it's cold they will close the door. Best have booking as if they are not busy they will close earlier but walk ins are available . Will be back!

What a great experience, really good quality, fresh, tasty food. I couldn’t fault anything, recommendations from the waitress were perfect. I would never have normally ordered Nacho’s,l but she recommended, they were so good and different to the normal ‘kiwi’ version. Everything (we got a lot of different food) was easily able to be shared by 4 or could have ordered our own if wanted to. Overall was $60 each, for lots of meals (with food left over) and 2 or 3 drinks each. It was easily good value for money. Atmosphere is good also, we had a booked table waiting but otherwise was packed. I’d recommend booking as was consistently popular throughout the time we were there.

Food and service were great, music was fine aswell. Had a booking on a sunday for a birthday we were 2 our booking was at 7. They contacted us to come 6.30 if possible so we went earlier, when we arrived they closed as they were closing early. It is not the first sunday they close early walked the previous sunday at around 7.30pm and it was closed. Outside tables need fixing at least 2 are very wavebly, how are you suposed to have a drink if tables keep moving? Drinks will spill. Inside is beautiful cosy but need to fix outside tables and name light. Will atrack more people. Will be back

Possibly the best food I ate in New Zealand, and that's saying something. We had a few tapas - the guacamole with pumpkin seeds, the ceviche, and the guanciale with courgettes. They were next-level out-of-this-world. Topped it off with a few fine/rare mezcals (Lost Explorer, 12 year). Had to come back again to try the tacos... and just wow. Eat here, you won't regret it... you might even still be thinking about it a month later and writing a review on Google.

Has been my go to wine & ceviche spot since they opened. Edmundo has impeccable taste in wine selections. I have never left with a bad bottle of wine. If you’re also keen to try some mezcal, this is the place. There’s also an option to buy mezcal which is an added bonus.

Why did nobody tell me about this place before? OMFG amazing. 10 stars. I was so busy having a good time I only got one picture and the food is already smashed, but the mushroom and meat thing was soooo delicious. See I didn’t even pay attention to the menu, I just ate what came out and died happy. The owner, Edwardo (sp?) is an absolute epic legend of a man, his recommendations were impeccable so if you come here just ask him to take you on a magical mystery tour. You won’t regret it. Special mention to Harri who served our table, you rock. Can’t wait to come back.

Could not have possibly asked for more from La Fuente and Edmundo. Loved that there was no drinks menu and you had to find out about the mezcal from having a conversation, and Edmundo sharing his stories and opinions on the mezcal was such a pleasure. Beautiful wee bar and an impressive amount of wines and mezcals. Mezcal negroni was fantastic and the food menu also looks great, I will for sure return when next in Auckland.

It is not easy to find a food place when traveling with more people or bigger groups. This food court is the perfect solution for that, as there are many cuisines available. You can still all order what you like, and still sit and eat together. The order process with the buzzers are incredibly easy. Great food court!

This food court was become a go-to spot, the aesthetic interior design that reminds me of Europe. They feature cuisines all around the world and there is definitely one that will increase your appetite😋😋 I love how the staff are efficient when it comes to clearing table and taking finished dishes away. Loves the soft serve and tacos!!

Kind of reminds me of a outside pub seating area food court. It is nice to have such a selection of food but could imagine it fills and gets rowdy really fast in the weekends Felt pretty clean and the food places looked clean as well. Would come here with friends or partner, not with the kids

Stunned to have dinner here with my family. Not too crowded but the parking was terrible. I’m surprised to see a lot of food choices in one place. It’s like having a tour around the world and enjoying their cuisines! Can’t wait to try other restaurants.

Elliot Stables has a cool industrial vibe with a great variety of food options, something for everyone, and some places even serve alcohol. Unfortunately, I had a long wait for my meal at Saigon Social, and while the food was okay once it arrived, the flavours felt a little off.

We finally got around to trying Broke Boy Tacos after seeing it all over social media and hearing good things from mates. The first thing I noticed was the simplicity of the menu. Simple, and done well. We got four tacos between the two of us, and we were more than satisfied. Yes, it’s messy, but that’s half the fun. The seasoning was fantastic. I’m usually not a fan of coriander, but the way it paired with the citrus here made for a surprisingly full flavour. The frozen margarita machine was down when we visited, so I’ll be back to give that a go next time. Definitely worth visiting if you’re overwhelmed by the huge menus you might find in other places. A streamlined taco experience that gets my vote.

This taco place was fantastic. We came specifically to try their famous tacos and a special ramen dish. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. Ordering was fun too, every time we ordered, they asked if we wanted to add cheese. We said yes for the taco, and it was definitely the right call. The taco was outstanding. For an adult, I’d say three would be a satisfying amount. After that, we tried the ramen. It had a generous amount of meat, which made it really satisfying. I am a big fan of coriander, and they didn’t hold back, loved it. The place was a bit loud with a few groups around, but the lively atmosphere actually added to the experience. We both really enjoyed our dinner here. Thanks for a great meal!

Drawn in by the hype, we definitely had high expectations. The staff were lovely and aesthetically the food and the atmosphere was top notch. However, the food flavors were very one note (and very salty). We twisted there was sour cream or salsa with the taco and the ramen. The tacos were also super greasy. All in all not a bad taco but not my favorite either. Also super sad they don’t do frozen margaritas anymore! The beer was good.

Cool little place! Two friendly fellas on the counter. Started the meal with classic corn chip and guac:) then moved onto the tacos... yummmmmm. Glad I crossed town to come and try. Ignore the road works out front and get in there!

The best birria tacos in Auckland! I’ll definitely be back. Personally enjoyed the tacos more than the ramen, but both were worth trying.

We were excited to try Broke Boy Tacos. Unfortunately they missed the mark BIG TIME. We ordered the 3 tacos (for $22 - we thought this was a reasonable price for 3) and a chips and guac for $12. When opening the tacos there were only 2 there and as this was a takeaway order we were unable to go back as we were already home - flavor of the tacos is ok loved the dipping sauce! Really disappointed in the serving size of the chips and guac especially at a price point of $12 to have a couple of handfuls of chips isn’t really worth getting them unless you’re feeding 1 person. Guac does taste lovely. Glad we took a chance to try and see what all the fuss is about but we won’t be back hence the low score.

Tokos Tacos is unreal. It’s the best combo of amazing food, service, and atmosphere. The staff are always friendly and will explain how their take on tacos works and is best enjoyed. Come on Thursdays for a special $15 for 3 chicken tacos or try their fish tacos, best I’ve ever had. Make sure to order a combo so you get consommé and salsa (to die for). For an extra add-on, try their Elote as well (sweet corn goodness). PS: don’t forget to ask for a loyalty card because YOU WILL BE BACK 😇

Broke boy tacos got nothing on these guys! No cap! Came all the way from South Auckland with the boys to get birria tacos and they were onnnn. When they suggest the fish tacos, make sure you get it. Trust me, the fish tacos are heaven sent!!! If you think the foods good, their hospitality and service is way better. Family owned business and they know what they’re doing. Come down and support your local small business. Get the elote as well—you won’t be disappointed. For the toko, you have got to get a store to South Auckland for sure! I’d be in every week and more traffic for sure in SA! Ofas boys!

I’m from Arizona so I know a thing or two about tacos. These tacos were the best I ever had 🙌🏽. Crunchy where it needed to be but yet the meat so tender and juicy. Chef Ben had the secret white sauce dripping over the fish tacos so disrespectfully 😩 that it maybe my cheat meal for life. I was even impressed that they had low carb options which of course I didn’t get cause it’s big back 🦍 bulking szn baybeeee! Tokos Tacos is a Lock definitely did not disappoint.

Loved this place! My partner and I got the fish and birria taco meals, plus the elote (mild) on the side. First off, the hospitality and friendliness of the workers made us feel very welcomed, and the food was served within a few minutes. The tacos were so delicious, flavourful and just the right level of crunchy, especially when combined with the spicy sauce (had a pretty substantial kick!) and dipping broth. A bit messy to eat, but that's what you get when you order tacos. The elote reminded us of corn cheese with a bit of a kick to it, and was great to have alongside the tacos. Overall, our only downside was that after we had finished all the food - we wanted more! We would 100% recommend if you want to indulge yourself in a hearty meal, so you should definitely pay these guys a visit - just make sure to order extra!

The staff are so nice here, absolutely amazing customer service. Came all the way from Sydney and they are the best tacos I’ve ever had I always tried the elote and the serving size was amazing for the price and was the best I’ve had too. Highly recommend will be coming back again!!

It’s a small place tucked away at the end of K road but it is busy as hell and there are couple of reasons for that. The South Indian food here that we had on this occasion was excellent. Entrees here are also great, they only thing I found weird was big potatoes in chicken and fish entrees. They got our order wrong at times but we’re more than happy to accomodate it. Best to book ahead for this place as it gets very busy and they did seem hard pressed to serve everyone on time but managed it well. Good experience nonetheless, I will be recommending it to my mates.

The Rava dosa was nice. We ordered other curries, they tasted very old and stale. The service was really poor, food took over an hour, the waiter couldn’t tell us why the food was taking so long and eventually disappeared. I have been to other Satya restaurant and had better experiences, so this was a disappointment.

Ordered a takeaway from the Great North road branch Ponsonby, where I ordered a papadum, along with Curry and rice and garlic Naan Bread. They told me papadums are complimentary. When I got it home, there was no papadum in the bag. The curry tasted very oily and like something you'd get in a food hall. The Garlic naan wasn't there either, but they'd included Paratha instead. Naan doesn't sound anything like Paratha so I don't see how they could get it mixed up. I rang up to give them feedback twice but no one picked up the phone. This place used to be really good but wouldn't go back there again due to missing items and substituted items and very average food.

The Indian here is the best of anywhere we've had it!! So so good. We've been getting it for years and it's always solid.

The food is OK - the price is reasonable. However some table are dirty and messy when we got there. The staff didn’t do the table. Also when female staff put the metal cups on the table, she made very loud voices - literally the cups are like dropping on the table.

Best Dine-In Experience at Satya Indian Restaurant I recently dined at Satya Indian Restaurant in Auckland and had the best experience ever. The ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the stage for an incredible meal. The butter chicken was absolutely divine. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff ensuring a perfect dining experience. Highly recommend Satya for anyone seeking delicious Indian cuisine and exceptional service!

An excellent place to enjoy the Indian food and Indian cultural heritage. The interior is made in such a way that gives you the feeling of being in India. The food is awesome and staff is very friendly. Very Busy on weekends. Fantastic place for family and big group dinner plans. They give complimentary sweets if your celebrating birthday or anniversary here. 😇👌
