Mediterranean restaurant
Odettes Eatery offers a sophisticated dining experience with Mediterranean and North African-inspired cuisine. The light-filled dining room, designed by co-owner Clare van den Berg, creates an inviting atmosphere that complements the informal and breezy service led by operations manager Poi Eruera. The menu features a fusion of flavors from around the world, initially Mediterranean-meets-North African but now expanded to include Pan Asian influences under new head chef Jonah Huang.
Absolutely one of the best food experiences in Auckland. Highly recommend. The Herbed Scramble is delicious. Look and feel of the restaurant is amazing, the food is top notch and the staff… They’re all friendly, helpful and professional. Thanks for the experience, team. Great job.

Everything is just right at the point. The food is very tasty, the waitress and waiter are very kind and detail-driven, the interior design is quite cozy and modern. And they do have a price difference when you order Bacon or not for the omelette, which is quite thoughtful. Would always want to come back again.

Good taste! Juicy chicken with pickle cucumber that's wonderful! 😊💯 Dessert, the lemon dressing is delicious! All staff has nice and helpful! Good experience of this lunch.
Carman H — Google review
Got the matcha and French toast, if you're from America French toast is more sweet than savory, this was the opposite, more savory with just the right amount of sweet. The bread was more fluffy than compact. It soaked up the creme brulee sauce so much better but didn't make you feel stuffed, just satisfied.

Amazing. Everything was so delicious, and the staff were very friendly. Great atmosphere, comfortable seating. The French toast was to die for, and the eggs were delicious as well!

Amazing service. We had 2 Odettes Complete, a latte and an apple juice. Paid 83$ and it was worth it. The waitress was very kind and she gave us complimentary still water. You can ask for sparkling. We recommend 💪

Cafe
Breakfast restaurant
The Store is Auckland's favourite French cafe, with an outdoor dining area perfect for people-watching. It has a wide range of delicious eats, from breakfast and lunch to sweet and savoury snacks. The store is run by the Hip Group, who also run Amano, Milse and Ortalana nearby. This stylish cafe-store-hybrid offers coffee and treats on the go as well as formal European inspired meals in a courtyard full of sun.
This place has my favourite granola. It's not overly sweet like many others, and the consistency is perfect. It comes with seasonal fruit, and I love that the one I had recently included red kiwifruit - tells me that the owner is generous. The staff are very lovely as well.

Great place to grab brunch in Auckland. Their menu items are really hearty and delicious but they also have a few that are light. Atmosphere was really nice since it was outdoor seating with good weather. Our servers were prompt and attentive. The only thing I would say it took a while to order after we were seated.
Gokul K — Google review
Lovely alfresco seating. Beautiful setting on a gorgeous clear day Excellent silky smooth creamy coffee. Just the right balance of flavors. I had an almond milk flat white and it was the best alternate milk coffee I have ever had The Eggs Benedict were excellent and interesting ... Served on potato rosti (hash browns) instead of muffin/bread. Love this. Eggs were perfect soft. Hollandaise sauce perfectly balanced flavours

The food was absolutely great! If I had a comment it would be that some spice would be nice on the menu :)
Giona — Google review
Upon entering 'The Store,' you are greeted with a cozy ambiance and a delightful selection of cabinet food and freshly prepared meals. The sound of waves crashing against the nearby beach adds a soothing backdrop to the dining experience, enhancing the overall atmosphere. One of the standout features of 'The Store' is its versatility as a venue. Beyond its day-to-day operations as a café and restaurant, it can easily transform into a function centre for special occasions and celebrations. This flexibility makes it a sought-after destination for hosting memorable events against the backdrop of the beautiful coastal scenery. Following a satisfying meal, you can take a leisurely stroll along the picturesque beach, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The proximity of a camping ground adds another dimension to the experience, allowing visitors to extend their stay and immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the area. While 'The Store' offers a delightful experience overall, there are some aspects that could be improved. One notable concern is the venue's temperature control, particularly during colder months. Some guests, including myself, have reported feeling chilly and uncomfortable while dining, despite efforts to warm up by the fireplace. Addressing this issue could significantly enhance the dining experience for patrons, ensuring their comfort throughout their visit. Additionally, access to the parking lot from the motorway may pose a challenge for drivers, especially during peak traffic hours. Improved signage could help mitigate this issue and enhance the overall convenience for guests arriving at the café. With its stunning location and serene beachfront setting, it remains a compelling option for travellers in this picturesque region of New Zealand.

The team are really nice and complimented my outfit. I like the meal as well as they took a different take on the hash brown.

HOTCAKES & THE GRILL - Recommended dishes here. Recommend going when it is less busier as the service was top notch on Monday brunch, which was a big contrast to Saturday brunch where we weren't attended to. I think this is reflected in some of the reviews. Today we had Top notch service! They had fire places nearby tables which made it nice and warm on a chilly morning. Food portions were huge and we left feeling very satisfied! I would say one of the top brunch spots in Auckland CBD!

Food is really tasty. Their wholewheat bread gave me a surprise, smoked fish, quite nice and not that salty. Only the Matcha latte was not that good, other than that, everything is quite pleasant.

Circus Circus is a beloved Auckland cafe known for its vintage circus theme and diverse menu. The restaurant, adorned with circus memorabilia and show posters, offers a unique dining experience. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it serves eclectic New Zealand and global cuisine along with coffee and desserts. Located in Mount Eden village, the cafe has been a popular haunt since 1995.
Pleasant cafe to dine at. Staff were very friendly & our meals came out so fast! Very delicious & presented nicely. Difficult to find parking though, you gotta go at the right time - whatever that is 🙈. Lots of seating, heaters indoors & also small blankets if you need that extra comfort. Have been back again already 😉

What an enchanting experience! Such a fun way to start the day. We went for breakfast this morning. The staff was super friendly. They checked on us often to see how things were and to see if we needed anything. The food was great! Really nice coffee as well. The atmosphere was my favourite part. I love the decor! The toilet was clean and I like that they play recordings of sideshows in the toilet. I’ll definitely be back! Can’t wait to take my partner there for dinner on our next date night!

Service: 5/5. Brisk. Efficient. Fast. Friendly. Also, forgot my sunnies on the table and staff returned it to us while we were paying. Food: 4/5. We went for Saturday breakfast and got mince on toast, pancakes and bacon, and two cups of single-shot cappuccinos. Coffee and mince on toast - both A+. Pancake could be better as mine was soaked in syrup - all I could taste was the syrup that it ended up too sweet it almost hurt my tongue! Next time, I will request that the syrup be served on the side. Ambiance: 4/5. Quite busy on a Saturday morning. Bonus: If you like dogs, you'll see a lot of them sitting with their owners at Circus Circus' outdoor seating. We sat in the room at the back which was still good. What could've made it perfect is if the music wasn't too loud.
Mony V — Google review
The food presentation was great. The food itself was delicious 😋. For the amount of people, the service was fantastic. The atmosphere was pretty vibey! A side note, where we sat-opposite where the food gets collected, I felt was a bit cramped! Lucky for us our third person did not come. If he had you would of heard him complaining 🤣 Overall, we will be back but not on a Sunday morning. Thank you 😊
Lilian T — Google review
An iconic spot in Mt Eden! I have been here many times, but finally decided to leave a review. On Tuesday evening, my wife and I came by for dessert, as we had been missing this place. We ordered a slice of chocolate cake, a chamomile tea, and a decaf flat white. Perfect choices for a sweet little date. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were friendly. We noticed the dish the older couple at the next table were having, it looked amazing. Definitely something we will try next time. One quirky thing: the music playing in the bathroom was… unusual. It even startled my wife a bit! Overall, such a lovely spot. Highly recommended for a date.
Michael K — Google review
Very poor experience here. The staff seemed very hectic, once our order was taken our server didn't check back in - which was absolutely needed. No serviettes or utensils on the table, we had to ask a passing staff member who just brought serviettes and we had to ask for utensils as well. When our food arrived my Bubble & Squeak had an odd smell but assumed it was seasoning. Then I realised the wedges were rotten, with grey potatoes. You can see the worst one on the left hand of the photo. Absolutely revolting. I flagged down a staff member and sent it back, definitely didn't want another one so ordered what my partner had, the hot dog. It was fine, definitely not New York style. At payment time we were charged the original two meals but after questioning this my meal was comped which I appreciate. The theme of a circus was apt I guess, but not for the right reasons.
David Q — Google review
Went for dinner and was nice food and good portions. We ordered the lamb roast, the pork belly, the chicken liver pate and the poutine fries. The poutine was the only serious let down, it seemed to be just chips with cheese microwaved over it - just was a bit disappointing. But really generous serving of pork belly, lamb roast was cooked perfectly and the chicken liver pate was especially delicious. Would come back again!
Mia S — Google review
Circus Circus has quickly become one of our favourite spots for a nice drink and some sweet treats! We particularly enjoy their desserts, especially with the evening 2-for-1 specials (only dine in). They make a mean tiramisu and creme brulee, and we also really enjoy their Crunchie chocolate cheesecake!

Gluten-free restaurant
Little Bird Kitchen, an offshoot of Little Bird Organics, is a leader in the raw and organic food movement. Their plant-based menu offers dairy, gluten, and refined sugar-free sweet treats along with seasonal savory and sweet dishes, smoothies, bowls, turmeric lattes, and matcha tea. The commitment to healthy food is evident in their hands-on approach of preparing nut milk and culturing nut cheeses.
Had lovely time at the Little Bird Kitchen. It’s a nicely decorated modern cafe , which offers vegan food and raw deserts. Staff were friendly and helpful. I had Vietnamese crape - very savoury, filled with avocado, salad and cashew nuts - it was flavourful and had lots of different textures. The raw chocolate and raspberry brownie was delicious - chocolaty and not too sweet. I am impressed they try to make matcha in a traditional Japanese way - hand whisked. However, mine had a little too much water but the matcha flavour was good, just the right amount of bitterness. A little complementary sweet on the side would be a nice touch… Other than that, great place for lunch if you like vegan food. P.S. Not cheap but OK as a treat.
Helena S — Google review
I got the bird bowl, which I am not much of a fan of. The only nice thing I like about it is the roasted Kumara and salad. My friend got the banana mochi waffle, which we were surprised by. The mochi is part of the waffle. We thought it would be separate. My friend really enjoyed it. We also got the hot chocolate- raw cacao mug. You get to choose what milk you want it with, oat, almond or hazelnut. Overall service was good and the meals came out quickly. I would say the price is a bit on the high end though so I guess this place would be a nice place to treat yourself once in awhile.

@theaucklandbuzz (insta & TikTok handle) Follow me for more such reviews. 🌱 Brunch Review – Vegan Café Vibes Tried out a local vegan café for brunch and it was definitely a different kind of experience! Some of the drinks had unique, almost weird flavor combos—but in a surprisingly good way. The smoothie was refreshing and just the right kind of thick. 🌈 The food was colourful, creative, and plated like art. If you’re open to trying something new, this place is worth the curiosity. Plant-based never looked this vibrant!

I love this cafe sooo much. If you go there you must try the iced coffee shake and the bird bowl. The cheesecake is so delicious. Service is always amazing, the girls are super nice and friendly. A little bit pricey but it’s definitely worth it. Update: still love this place but unfortunately they changed the bird bowl, this one is not as good as the other one, nothing special about it, flavours are not as good. I wouldn’t order it again.
Ximena A — Google review
What can I say? It’s not always easy to find healthy plant-based spots, but this one truly has it all. Along with the friendly staff and quick preparation, I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. If you’re looking to treat yourself and your body to something good after a workout, Little Bird Kitchen is always a winner. Every time I’m in Auckland, I make sure to stop by and take a little break from everyday life! 🥰

This is my happy place, such a great vibe and relaxing atmosphere. You can rest assured that the kai being served here is healthy and delicious. L O V E.
Shara A — Google review
Lovely little cafe with an impressive selection of plant based cakes and sweets, while also serving lunches with full table service. I will be honest, I really did not enjoy my food at all, but the way the staff handled that was amazing. They inquired as to why to understand, made me feel comfortable about being honest and didn’t charge me. I couldn’t eat it so appreciated it. I will be back to try other items as I love creative vegan food but found specifically the Vietnamese Crepe to be extremely unbalanced. It had so many bitter and astringent elements and the texture was rough and stringy with an occasional mouthful of pickled carrot batons or cashew, none of which I was fond of. The pancake itself was almost more like injera in a Vietnamese style. I love injera and traditional Vietnamese pancakes - but this did not work for me. All the same - I will be back. I really appreciated the staff and options in general.

Torchon French Creperie & Cafe is situated in the charming Elliot Stables heritage building, offering a delightful mix of traditional and contemporary French influences. The cozy eatery boasts an eclectic decor with whimsical tea towels hanging from the ceiling, adding to its quaint charm. As one of Auckland's pioneering crepe establishments, it serves up a delectable selection of authentic French crepes alongside fine French wines and aromatic coffee.
Have a good variety of french crepes, french wine, and coffee. One of the first crepe restaurant in Auckland. The decor is quite eclectic, part quite rustic, part quite modern. The food are yummy, despite that their menu is quite static.

Sunday morning breakfast, we were the only 2 customers. Got overcharged due to a 'computer error' which we had to go ask about after paying the bill. They refunded the overpayment, then came to the table during our meal saying they had over refunded, turns out they had charged for an ice-cream side instead of a single scoop, so they immediately removed the half eaten ice-cream dish. Coffees did not arrive till our meal was almost finished as the staff were too busy pouring over the bill and we had to ask four times for some water for the table. Plates were cold so the crepes went cold and rubbery before we could finish them, pity as the flavour was nice.
Matt B — Google review
Pretty bad. Quite expensive, with not much to eat, and doesn't taste great. The forestière ($13) was just cheapest mushrooms and cream. The most expensive, Chèvre, was said to come with sundried tomatoes. Instead it came with pesto paste from the supermarket. The restaurant is not even really nice, doesn't really feel like something special, more like a fast food franchise. The creperie on Queen St is much better.
Boh ( — Google review
Okay I have to admit I went here expecting something completely different from what I got. It doesn't mean it wasn't good. It just means it wasn't what I was hungry for at the time. Staff was friendly and fast! I had the Forestiere which comes with mushrooms in a cream and white wine sauce.
Amber M — Google review
Horrible experience! Would NOT recommend - Lady who served us was exceptionally rude and the Crepes were average. Even if the Crepes were amazing I would still not go back because of the terrible service and rudeness. If you're looking for great Crepes served by lovely people don't waste your time here.
Mcinnes T — Google review
The woman at the counter was one of the rudest most ignorant individuals I've ever had the misfortune of encountering. Myself and my family went in to get crepes and because one of our six party weren't ordering she didn't want to allow us to sit. She then proceeded to be extremely rude and passive aggressive. Do yourself a big favour and give this place a miss.
Shane F — Google review
Savoury crepes pretty good but slightly dry. Berry crepe was terrible. A few canned berries on top of a crepe filled with flavourless grapes, apple and cantaloupe.
Keith P — Google review
Absolutely awful, we've had French onion soup all around the world and we can absolutely say this is the worst by a mile (1.6 km). And lamb, ugh, even worse! Just plain awful, don't even think about this place.

Jam Organic Cafe is a popular spot located on Hurstmere Road in Takapuna, North Shore, Auckland. The cafe offers a range of delicious and healthy breakfast and lunch options, with plenty of gluten-free choices available. Some recommended dishes include the flavorful omelettes, Sweetcorn Fritters, and Chicken Breast Salad. For dessert, don't miss out on their irresistible gluten-free Peanut Brownie Bliss Balls.
Nice place and very good food, service and coffee is the best, nice atmosphere and the location is very well. The staff are very friendly and always greet you with a smile. The details on the coffee figurines are very creative, Ravi makes excellent coffee. Overall, everything from the service to the food is excellent. I recommend this place year-round. It's great. Thanks to all the staff who always go out of their way to provide the best service. I recommend it 100%.Thanks so much Minu, Aimee, Ravi and all the Staff.

We came here for a Sunday brunch and had such a wonderful experience. We ordered the Jam style eggs, protein pancakes, and big breakfast. Couldn’t fault any of them! All the plates came out quickly, the food was warm, the presentation exceptional and can confidently say we didn’t leave a crumb. Would also like to note, I purchased a dirty (spicy) chai with soy milk, which can be very hit or miss. It was honestly delicious. The atmosphere was also lovely, even if you’re sat outside they have heating units and allow dogs. All in all, had a wonderful experience and would absolutely recommend.

The jam style eggs, big breakfast & chicken breast salad all 5 star. Smoothies/juices are all yum. Staff are so friendly & service was great. Great view if you sit outside looking at Rangitoto. We'll be back to try more on the menu.

JAM in Takapuna is amazing - the food & coffee are great, the staff are friendly and efficient, there’s nice wood-focused decor, very cool vibes, and it’s all just a stone’s throw from one of the best beaches on the North Shore, Takapuna. The Eggs Benedict with mushrooms and sauce is heavenly - the best EggsB I’ve ever tasted in Auckland. :-) I live in Tokyo and coming back to JAM to have this dish is always high on my Do list while I’m in town. Highly recommended!

Honey Cafe Ponsonby is a must-visit spot for foodies looking for visually appealing and delicious dishes. The extensive menu offers a variety of sweet and savory options, including the highly recommended banoffee French toast and fried buttermilk chicken and waffle. Additionally, their gluten-free orange ricotta pancake with vanilla ice cream, fresh fruit, and honey orange blossom syrup is a popular choice.
Walked in after spotting the bright sign outside, and I’m glad I did! Such a cute seating setup and cozy vibe. Tried their purple yam latte with Labubu art—honestly one of the most creative drinks I’ve seen. Food came out in good time and everything feels made for Instagram freaks who love artsy, aesthetic food. A fun little find.

My first dining experience here and I gather it has undergone several name changes and management over the years. The food was both a feast for the eyes and also a delight for the taste buds. Great home dishes that were jazzed up with a little of this and a little of that to elevate the taste levels. A fabulous little find and not one you want to shout too loudly about in case you can no longer get a table!

Beautiful cafe with the best latte art and Vietnamese coffee. I love their tiramisu crepe cake as well as their fried chicken waffle.

Very poor service. We called and were told no reservations, just come and wait 10 minutes. But when we arrived, there were many reserved tables, and staff were still taking bookings by phone. We had two small kids and ended up waiting 30 minutes. None of the reserved tables were used ,they stayed empty the whole time. The matcha latte and taro latte were just powder-based drinks, nothing special at all. Food and drinks were very average , definitely not worth the wait. Service was bad. Not coming back.

Reserved a seating for 4 people. Order was taken quickly & the food did not disappoint. 3 of us had cooked orders & 1 had the filo chicken from the cabinet. All were happy with portion sizes. Being seated almost opposite the till, it got very congested & noisy at times. A lot of patronage as most tables were full. Will definitely return, however will request a table towards the back of the cafe.

Hello friends and allies never disappoints! The chili scrambled eggs were perfectly cooked—creamy, rich, and full of flavor. Paired with the crispy sourdough toast and fresh microgreens, it was a simple yet elevated brunch dish. The touch of the side added a great burst of flavor. Williams Eatery, located in Wynyard Quarter, is a family-owned eatery that has been recognized for its exceptional service and inventive menu. The cafe offers a relaxed dining experience with a focus on Italian-inspired dishes and specialty coffee. The ever-changing menu features unique breakfast options with a Filipino twist, using seasonal produce to create interesting and delicious dishes. With an inviting atmosphere and outdoor seating available, Williams Eatery provides a great place to enjoy good food and drink in the heart of the city center.
This place is no longer Williams Eatery - it’s now Bowler! They offer a fantastic selection of bowls, letting you choose from chicken, beef, or salmon, with bases of either brown rice, salad, or a mix of both. There are plenty of healthy options to enjoy here. I visited Bowler with my colleagues to check out the new spot, and it didn’t disappoint. The experience was wonderful! The staff were friendly and personally called out our names from the counter when our bowls were ready. It got quite busy during lunchtime, but at $17.90 per bowl, the price felt reasonable and well worth it. So far, I’ve tried the Free-Range Chicken Bowl (No. 1) and the Mt. Cook Salmon Bowl (No. 4). Both were absolutely delicious! The brown rice base is perfect if you’re looking for a more filling meal. The bowls focus on highlighting the natural flavours of the ingredients, with no heavy sauces - just fresh, wholesome goodness. I enjoyed Williams, and now I am loving Bowler too. I’ll definitely be coming here more often for lunch. Highly recommended!

I just had my first Bowler the #1 and my gosh! I thought this was just a trend but their food is actually SO yummy, flavourful, good portion and great value for money! I couldn’t even finish it all and believe me I tried because it’s so good! Also love that I can order online to save me waiting in line when I can’t afford to because of work Highhhhly recommend wow 🤯

Excellent place for a business meeting! Great coffee and Bowler Café must be lowest cost in town 😉👍Stylish and minimalist with seating outside under umbrella. A bit tricky with parking though some places right in front.

Ordered our catering from Bowler last week for an exciting shoot out west—a whole array of salads, insanely good cookies and drinks were delivered to our office, and everyone on set raved about them. The team were super helpful in making sure any complex dietaries were taken care of (and there were some), and the food was way more delicious than any traditional kind of catering. Would give 100 stars if I could—will definitely order again.

Lovely brunch in Auckland. We thoroughly enjoyed the menu here, the service was quick and the food was tasty. We had flat whites and mimosas, sat in the sun in a bustling environment. For our food we chose the poached eggs on sourdough with a side of smoked salmon, and the blueberry French toast. Really really good. The best brunch we had in Auckland.
Greig T — Google review
Love the service here and the quality of the food. You know it's good when the chef changes the menu. This particular time we had the steak, and baps with bacon. All on point.
Joey T — Google review
Appreciating these final warm-ish mornings here in Auckland, I went out for breakfast with my wonderful team at Williams Eatery in Wynyard Quarters. The ambiance and service were delightful, complemented by excellent coffee and a decent breakfast selection. Every dish was thoughtfully presented and promptly served. This time, I opted for the Fig Toast, enticed by its promising description and hoping for a refreshing start to my day. Regrettably, it didn’t quite meet my expectations. While nicely presented, I found the feta overpowering and the fig lacking in flavor (truth be told, the figs I’ve had lately seem to lack their usual taste). I would appreciate a more harmonious balance of flavors in this dish, considering its appealing combination of ingredients. Despite my experience with the Fig Toast, I still find Williams Eatery a charming breakfast spot and look forward to returning to sample other items on their menu when I’m back in town.

Dutch Delight is a renowned restaurant in Auckland, particularly famous for its wide variety of pancakes. Whether you're craving something savory like chicken, brie, cranberry and apricot pancakes or have a sweet tooth and want to indulge in tiramisu pancakes, this place has it all. The menu features an extensive selection of sweet and savory pancakes in different sizes. One of the favorites is the poffertjes, which are mini fluffy pancakes served with various sweet toppings.
One of the best secrets of the locals. Been here many times and never disappointed. Their peanut sauce is just divine. Worth every bit of the 30pp. Highly recommended to woo your dates. The proprietors are absolutely lovely and go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction.

Happy to find an authentic dutch restaurant here. The sharing platter is good to try a few different starters. Savory pancake was great. Poffertjes was good as well. Very friendly. We are quite happy with the food.

I've always wanted to come here when I'm over the shore and when a grabone was on offer, we decided to visit. It was my first time to really eat dutch food and it was delicious. Willem the owner was very friendly and helpful to make our decision and explain what was on the menu. We ended getting a 3 course meal and highly recommend the dutch poffertjes which is fried dough with butter and icing sugar. The dutch syrup tasted so good. Looking forward in coming back again and tasting more things from there menu

The food is so delicious and not expensive at all. The staff is super friendly. I will keep coming here without any doubt.
Alejandro H — Google review
I first got to know Dutch Delight through Groupon. I brought my aunty along and we were especially curious with the starters and snacks, with their lovely Dutch names, as this was the first time we tried Dutch food. They were yummy! I booked another meal for my family and Willem was very nice and made us feel at home and special. The mains, desserts and drinks (some were sinfully decadent and rich) were all very nice. Don't skip the fries with the lovely sauces, and you get to try a bit of different starters/snacks with the sharing platter. Lovely cosy ambiance.
Merlisa N — Google review
Taste wise super amazing! Especially the savoury pancakes and the poffertjes ❤ so impressed about how the way their serve us. Super friendly. Definitely will come again and again and again!

The only dutch restaurant made with Home made food by Willem, in his sixties, he still manage this one and only resto in Birkenhead.. good food but overpriced..my hubby likes the pancake, and my son ordered nuggets but its the normal frozen nuggets you can buy at supermarket...if we will come back again?? I don’t think so..
Faye O — Google review
Love this place, the food is fantastic and the Dutch food is authentic. I love coming here, because its a reminder and familiar taste of a place I used to call home for a year. They have a good balance of mains (not too many that you feel overwhelmed) and your food is fresh, tasty and delicious. My favourite is their Poffertjes which are like bites of heaven that melt in your mouth.

I’ve been a loyal customer for many years. I started coming here when I was still at uni and the shop was in the CBD. Now that it’s moved to the North Shore, I still make the trip just to get it. The vibe has always been great, the owner is really friendly, and the food is just as delicious as ever. Still my favourite spot after all these years.

delicious pancakes! used to get them all the time in the CBD before covid, sad they closed down in town, but glad they still stand strong in two other locations, had my pancake treats(also the korean iced coffee was a bonus) today while in albany, they’re still 10/10 , if you visit auckland or in the area, please do stop by and try them out, the family who runs this place is very friendly and very welcoming! will definitely be back again soon

Nice and quiet corner with absolutely friendly shop services. It is always good to be able to sit away from busy street or cafe and enjoy some sweet. The pancake is very tasty. The red bean cake will be a must try item if you visit.
A P — Google review
I always walked past No.1 Pancake witnessing the long queue along the pavement which discouraged me from buying/ trying, when they were still operating in CBD. Was stoked to stumble across them now reopened in Albany, when I was searching for my appointment venue on google map. They were literally just 2 minutes away from where my appointment was. Online order was made with pickup slot available in 10-15 minutes. Walked in to pick up and my order was all ready waiting for me. The owner/ operator was awesome and thoughtful, letting me know that I could help myself to the sauces in lil takeaway containers 😍. Had it not been raining heavily I would have chosen to sit outside and dug into the hot pancakes then and there to admire the charming shop decor. Alas I had to bring them home after 45 minutes drive and the cakes were barely warm. Nevertheless the pancakes were still to die for! I ordered one savoury (beef cheese) and one sweet (red bean). Generous fillings and not oily! Taste-wise : full of flavour yet not overpowering. Everything was well balanced and done to perfection! Now I finally know why people were willing to stand in the line for their pancakes! I will definitely come back for more when opportunity arise and try some other flavours.

*Updated 12/5/24: Actually today's experience was very good, keep up the good work! *Updated 28/5/23: Again, had to send the bread back as the eggs on the toast makes it soggy, and was short 1x rasher of bacon. Sigh *Updated 11/11/22: Tried Bambina again and surprise surprise, noisy AF and eggs on the toast = soggy toast. Poached eggs were cold. The coffee was good. However, my friend's salmon was inedible. It was meant to be with noodles, but only had a tablespoon of it. The "broth" was just lime juice. To say the balance was off suggests there was balance to begin with, but this was just sour. The addition of salt was not enough to augment it. Suggesting that the issue was not with the food, but with her palate, is clearly indicative of complacency. An apology from the waitress was better received, but we are struggling to find any other merits.

Domain & Ayr Cafe in Parnell offers an extensive breakfast menu, but their standout dish is the fluffy 20-minute pancakes. These pancakes are larger than usual and served with seasonal fruit, mixed berry compote, mascarpone, and maple syrup. The cafe's name reflects the patience required to make these unique pancakes, which are a hybrid of pancake and souffle, resulting in a light and cloud-like texture.
I’m amazed! Such beautiful dishes and they are delicious as well. Not to mention averagely priced for being much nicer and visually enthralling than in most places. Highly recommend this place, specifically the creamy mushroom rostis and the fluffy pancakes (have never eaten something so fluffy). The macchiato coffee and iced chocolate with almond milk were great as well. Free water, which is great. Nice place, chill atmosphere, friendly service. Very happy to have gone here! The cafe offers an epic gluten-free feast featuring eggs benedict with a choice of Pokeno bacon, Aoraki smoked salmon, or pan-fried tofu served with gluten-friendly layered agria potato or pork salad. Customers have praised the pink and green smoothies, scrambled eggs and bacon, as well as the sparkling water provided free of charge.
This café may look simple from the outside, with no fancy décor, but that actually made me feel even more confident that they’re truly focused on making great coffee and food.😋 The staff were friendly, which made the whole experience really comfortable and pleasant. I especially want to give a big shoutout to the barista ❤️we ordered 5 hot drinks and she's so so focus made each one, with different latte art on every cup! Lovely, friendly staff but service was very slow especially for the amount of customers. There was a missed item in our order which they weren’t really apologetic for so we said not to worry about it. Really wanted to like the food, but the scrambled eggs and sourdough were really sad as pictured (this was an adult/standard portion too).

The bao buns are a great size and super tasty, perfect if you're not that hungry, and their coffee was spot on. The girls were so helpful with ordering as I can't tolerate certain ingredients, they were very helpful in advising what I could order. Located at 2 Mahoenui Valley Rd, Coatesville, the Coatesville Market is a monthly event that takes place on the first Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm. It's renowned for its high-quality crafts, second-hand goods, and delicious lunch options. Visitors can explore a wide range of items such as crocheted baby clothing, rugs, wooden furniture, old-fashioned crockery, vintage poster art, plants and hanging baskets.
Beautiful traditional market in an open field like setting. Great food, crafts and live music and entertainment. Parking is easy on paddock close by.

Really nice market with heaps of different vendors. Great location and good vibes. We always go early about 9.30am (market opens at 10am) - otherwise it's really difficult to find a carpark. Picture 3 is Ma Keto Kitchen by Maja! Great place for keto sweets if you're into the keto world. Recommend it 👌
Larissa W — Google review
Love the market. Sooo good to see it back. Was super busy. Not sure I've seen it as busy as today. The scouts though did an amazing job of getting everyone a parking space and creating safe walkways for pedestrians. Great live music and wonderful food choices. My fav is the bread puffs. Go for the harissa option.
Stephen K — Google review
An awesome place to spend a whole day with family. Live music, lots of booths, plenty of food, beer, coffee, etc.
Mansour G — Google review
Great market, away from the bustles of city life. Nice mixture of food and craft stalls. Ample parking at rear paddock. Some nice places to check out afterwards - Hallertau, The Pie Shop, The Beer Spot, Gourmet Gannet.
Jason Y — Google review
Awesome market, had a great time. A lot for food stalls with plenty of options. We got there early so we had a lot of time to walk around slowly and take a look at all the amazing crafts and products sold.
Pooja R — Google review
Awesome market, great food, with local produce stalls and other locally made products - definitely worth a visit...
Ismail Z — Google review
Great selection of stalls and food , quite a better lay out than most markets as they had adequate space between each rows to alow people to look but also people to walk by, the vendors were awesome aswell and had some incredible food too that I haven't seen so far anywhere else, highly recommend the kpork truck 😀

Cafe
Nestled in the bustling Morningside precinct, Kind Cafe & Eatery has made a name for itself by prioritizing health in its menu offerings. Despite being known for nutritious options like zero carb noodles and pulled jackfruit tacos, Kind also surprises patrons with delectable pancakes. The fluffy whole wheat cakes are reminiscent of a comforting apple pie, topped with homely stewed apple, apple cider caramel sauce, cinnamon, and toasted pecans.
The food here is delicious with a menu that has lots of great options. Everything seems very fresh and not too unhealthy, which makes a great start to the day. The smoothies are delicious, and I would recommend trying one. Staff are all fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The cafe looks beautiful with lots of open space and indoor plants

Really enjoyed my visit here :) The service was excellent and though my toast was slightly over, they kindly replaced my meal 💕 which was really kind of them! The code was good and the savoury muffin was great ☺️ The interior and exterior was really pretty and is such a great place for a friend meetup/ gathering!

We really liked kind - so much, that we went there three times. We had great breakfast (pancakes and avocado on sourdough) and pastries (scones, pain au chocolate, savory muffin with caramelised onions, vegan meat pie with vegan cheese and vegan sausage roll). They also have lots of milk options available, one of them being macadamia milk which I’ve never seen before (oat tastes better in my humble opinion). They also offer “yesterday’s baked goods” at a discounted price that taste just as good. Definitely a must if you’re in Auckland!

Used to love this place so much, came back to Auckland and was looking forward to coming back here Very disappointed No table service Flat white instead of latte Acidic long black NO PLATES?!? I was served in a paper bowl Cold stale rice Cold food Tea spoon worth of avocado Hard boiled egg instead of soft boiled Nobody asked how our food is Couldn’t finish it Won’t be coming back Still great vibes though, sad to see it went downhill

Had mother's Day brunch here. Loved it! Great food, helpful and cheerful staff. Love the atmosphere.

June 2025: Thanks for a quirky experience. It has been a while since I was to this place, and I forgot it had such a distinct decor and vibe. I had a long black ☕, which I'll skip next time, but the cup itself was very nice to hold. I had a vegan blueberry muffin. It was really nice, different, not bready and not too sweet. I really enjoyed it and it compensates for the whole experience. The experience was distinct. It was probably my first time in NZ when the cabinet food had no prices. We checked the menu, and the cabinet food is not listed. We asked the smiley person at the counter, and she started naming the items, which did not always match what was written on the cabinet glass. When we insisted on knowing the prices before ordering, it turned out she didn't know them either, and asked what we were thinking. She started checking the prices on the computer, which led to an awkward ping-pong. I asked for butter on the side, which she repeated as if confirming. And, somewhat expectedly, the butter was shoved into the muffin when it arrived. Wasn't it supposed to be vegan in the first place? But the question of the day goes to whether we want pan de chocolate to be heated. In all my years in Europe, I never had a reheated pastry. Why would you reheat a fresh pastry, assuming it's fresh. Anyway, it is strongly recommended if you're after a quirky experience.

I loved the place 😍 good food, excellent service, amazing atmosphere … highly recommend !
Talia S — Google review
Yummy hot chocolate and eggs Benedict. The sourdough was super tough, so the butter knife was definitely not cutting through it and my food almost flew out the plate. We asked for a sharper knife but they didn't have any. Nice place if you love plants as the decor is giving a garden vibe. Overall a good brunch place. Mango smoothie bowl was very subtle and the pancake was not overly sweet. Eggs bene had avocado and the beetroot dressing had a nice fresh flavour to it. There was no parking in the surrounding areas so we parked a couple streets down/parallel to it.

Breakfast restaurant
Nestled in the Royal Oak Shopping Mall, Oak Eatery is a popular spot among locals for its heavenly pancakes. The fluffy batter, made mostly of egg whites, is served with cinnamon and vanilla-infused cream and seasonal fruit slices. The addition of earl grey granola provides a crispy texture while coconut mascarpone adds extra creaminess to the dish. This cozy eatery offers a wide range of sweet and savory options including Keto-friendly and vegetarian choices.
We held a business brainstorming meeting at Oak Eatery today. Wendy was able to suggest some healthy food options from their menu and she recommended we try their tropical and berry smoothies. The smoothies were delicious and refreshing 😋 I'll come back and order the smoothies again. I tried the Morrocan chicken on eggs benedict; it was flavourful, but I might try something else next time, perhaps the smashed avocado 🥑 on toast. And my friend had the smoked salmon hash benedict and she enjoyed it. It's a great spot because it's central and very open and spacious so it's great for work meetings over lunch. We're keen to return to try other foods on the menu. Thank you, Wendy, for your help and suggestions to me and my friend, since it was my first time there 🫶😀

Presentation was great however the taste wasn't as great, pumpkin had a weird taste. Not the first time I've experienced an unusual taste to the food, had this same experience with the fritters from there (kimchi and I think the other was a corn fritter)
L E — Google review
Food & service was ok some of the rice in the bibimbap tasted like it wasn’t cooked through and the taste was not that great. Their fries and Ice matcha was good though. Overall it’s an ok place, clean and tidy. Dishes on tables are cleared as soon as customers leave which is good.
Trish L — Google review
I went back after having good memories from a few years ago, but honestly, it was disappointing. Even though it was in the morning and the place was nearly empty, the food took a long time to come out, and the drinks only arrived when we were almost done eating. The food itself was just ok, so I don’t think I’ll be coming back anytime soon. But if you’re simply looking for a quiet café to have a chat, it’s not a bad option.
ALEX — Google review
The food was good/average. The menu had a nice selection. The cabinet was filled with nice looking stuff. We ordered the pancake tower, the big oak breakfast, an coffee frappe and a tropical smoothie. The Big Oak Breakfast was a little of a let down. The sausages weren't very grilled, the bread was too thick which was too soft and not very toasted, the parsley topping that was on top was so concentrated on the placement that its all that you could taste. There wasn't anything sauce wise, and no baked beans- so it made the meal feel quite dry. The rest of the food on this big breakfast was okay, but it is a little pilled up on top of each other- it would be nice to have it more spread out. The pancake tower was a little different than you might expect. The tower was of two thick pancakes. the presentation made me think of a souffle pancake- but its actually more cakey, and slightly on the dryer side. The compote and mascarpone were lovely. The seasonal fruits were a good selection. While it tasted good overall the texture of the pancake might not be for everyone- personally I liked it. The coffee frappe was good, with a nice strong coffee taste. The tropical smoothie was very refreshing with a nice zing from the pineapple. Overall it was average for price, the meal was filling, and the staff were nice. The only thing I might add is the tables are VERY sticky! Please take some time maybe before or after hours to thoroughly clean the table tops- it adds to a better experience
Annabelle S — Google review
Really poor service, the woman at the front counter was far more interested in typing on her tablet to even acknowledge we were standing there. It didn't get much better with a very curt "anything else" immediately after each item. Our food was delivered some time apart, my partner had almost finished by the time mine had arrived. It was pretty average food, not worth the poor attitude or wait. The server who brought our coffee and food was great, but far outweighed by the negatives.
David Q — Google review
Their coffee is always lovely and I always get their cauliflower bites. The service is warm and the environment is usually quiet so it's a good place to sit and read, but no WiFi and it can get very hot upstairs with no air-conditioning.
Meoghan C — Google review
Usually not one to leave reviews however our latest experience was very disappointing. Eek! Ordered two dishes and both dishes had items missing from it that were listed on the menu. Ordered an eggs Benedict on house made hash, however there was no hash and replaced with sourdough bread! The other dish we ordered was a big breakfast and the beef mince and mushrooms were left off the dish and I don’t think they substituted it with anything (unless they gave more of what they did put on the plate). When I went up and asked, they said “oh yeah, we don’t have that”. I asked why didn’t the waiter tell us beforehand when we were ordering, they said she forgot. Probably won’t be coming back for a bit, which is a bit unfortunate considering it wasn’t always like this. :( p.s. place was half full

Honey Bones, a popular café in Grey Lynn, Auckland, is known for its inventive Middle Eastern-inspired menu and delicious brunch options. The ricotta pancake is a favorite among locals and visitors alike, featuring tangy lemon curd, creamy Greek yogurt, and luscious poached fruit. For those feeling adventurous, the green pea pancake with seasonal brassicas, crispy kale, pistachio tapenade, dukkah and a poached egg is a unique option to try.
Super cute cafe with indoor and outdoor seating, along with a little walk-up counter for coffee. Quick service and delicious food. I tried a dirty chai latte and the Merguez, which was so yummy. I've never had anything quite like it before.

One of my favourite brunch places. All the dishes are so rich in flavour and delicious, well presented. Staffs are always very welcoming 😊

Was very busy for a Monday brunch. Food was great! Space is quite small but they do have outdoor seating and it’s nice when the weather is good.

Lovely local cafe with friendly efficient service. It’s not super large so it pays to get there early. There is a nice large table you can share though. Coffee was good and menu has lots of variety. Food delicious

We visited yesterday for the first time, all the way from Dunedin. My oat latte was amazing and nice and hot. Pretty latte art! Food was so unique, dishes that we haven't seen before. We had the mushrooms, salmon meal and the waffles. Incredible food and loved the vibe!

Had brunch here on a Monday, pleasantly surprised by the amount of tables available. I ordered the Merguez, it was full of flavor and very filling. Top notch coffee and playist, perfect spot for a catchup. Will definitely recommend this place to friends.
