Definitely a five-star restaurant you should book in advance. We went for lunch at 12 on Saturday and it was almost fully booked. Both the kawahai seafood and the spaghetti pasta were excellent, we finished every bite! For drinks, I highly recommend trying their signature options, whether cold or hot. I’ll definitely be coming back for any occasion.

Nice and cozy restaurant/cafe/bakery spot. Tried out their pasta for lunch. A friend recommended their Scampi pasta and did not regret. We also got their Pappardelle, Lamb Ragu. Decent serving portion. We also checked out their bakery section afterwards and got a Creme Brûlée donut as a sweet treat. The donut was packed with creamy custard inside along with the burnt sugar on the outside which balanced out the sweetness. Definitely recommend if you’re visiting Auckland and looking for a chill place for lunch or dinner.

Been hearing about this place for sometime. So we booked lunch today for a very special occasion. The food indeed was delicious. I got to taste a bit of everyone's order lol. Venue isn't bad at all. Was really busy I can see. A bit crowded for the size and they can spruce the place up a bit in my opinion. After all everyone's paying sort of top dollar. Service was overall good and attentive ... could use a bit more smiles guys. I found corkage fee for bringing your own small birthday day cake a bit over the top especially when we aren't asking for extra plates or cutlery. Going back? For the food...definitely yes. otherwise hmmm...

Wow a real authentic Italian restaurant serving a fantastic menu. The sauces were heavenly and could even meet Michelin standards. The service is perfect and friendly as well as helpful. Atmosphere is like being in Italy 🇮🇹 but we are in 🇳🇿 . Abit pricey but worth every single penny 👌 👌👌👍👍👍

This restaurant more than lives up to all the great reviews. The setting, location, interior, and vibe are perfectly in tune with each other. The food is incredibly flavorful and beautifully presented. We had breakfast here, and you could truly say it’s a breakfast for champions! If you’re staying in Auckland, this place is an absolute must-visit.

OMG!!! This is one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve ever visited in my life!!! Such a beautiful spacious spot with really tall windows that lits the place with natural sunlight but yet dim to give it this beautiful aesthetic n relaxed feel. They have an open concept kitchen where you could see all those professionals preparing the food 🤩 Menu is limited but from simple classic plates they create an elevated dish! You MUST VISIT when you’re in Auckland!

Excellent food and perfect ambiance. I had the best breakfast Mushroom, sourdough poached egg, Parmesan cheese. Very creamy and delicious. The coffee was fantastic. The only thing that concerned me a bit was they gave me a bar seat and I was sitting in front of the timber column and I saw 3 insects crawling to my plate and I guess it must be from the timber column. I did mention it to the server who said they usually do pest control. I hope they take it seriously. One of the highlights was their bakery next to the restaurant with fantastic croissants and bakery items.

We ordered a Saint Honore cake for a family gathering, and the whole family loved it. The cake was not only beautifully designed, but the flavours were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a delicious treat for any occasion. We'll definitely be coming back for more!

Absolutely divine sweets and pastries at this French café in Parnell. A bit on the pricey side, but definitely worth it for the quality and flavour. I’ve bought cakes from here a few times and they’ve always been a hit, everyone loved them! Their mini desserts are also a favourite of mine so beautifully made and delicious.

Our team attended Sonia’s pasty class for layered cakes which was excellent. The atmosphere was lovely and Sonia’s incredibly knowledgeable. We all learnt great tips and techniques to take back to our workplace along with our lovely layered cakes to share with our loved ones. Thanks Sonia! We will be back again.

We ordered online "saint honore" for $72.00 This French birthday cake has one size only. The cake looked beautiful, fresh, and so delicious. We called them before we picked it up, and the staff made it packed in the box already for us. The location of the shop is in the small street, luckily they have 5 minutes park area so easily for us to got the car.

This is my "To go to" place for Birthday Cakes. The Zora cake is my favourite. Not too sweet. Tastes divine, can easily eat 2 or 3 slices at a time it's so good. The quality & artistry is 5 Star. It's easy to order online, pickup is seamless...

The best Patisserie in Auckland. Adorable cafe, delicious desserts, always great customer service. Recently I’ve ordered limited cake Opera for Father’s Day and it was yummy. Highly recommend Vaniye Patisserie.

The croissant was soft instead of crisp, and the mousse cake, though well-layered with a nicely balanced cherry filling, didn’t taste very fresh. Hopefully, the café can reheat pastries before serving to maintain better quality.

Lovely slice of France in Auckland cbd. I was half tucking into my delicious chicken and pesto panini when I realised I must take a pic for a review ( sorry about the bad photo skills) very nice cafe, spotlessly clean, nice selection of sandwiches and pastries and also very fine French sweets almost too good to eat. A very warm welcome from the front staff very attentive and chatty. The coffee was very good too . Would definitely be back for more , the pastries were very good 👍👍 we decided to buy more to take home for later which was particularly good for my sugar cravings after dinner 😊 Thanks

La Petite Fourchette at the Viaduct is my absolute favorite spot for a morning coffee, and for good reason! The atmosphere has a truly special French feel that is both authentic and welcoming. The coffee is consistently great, and their selection of delicacies is simply divine – a perfect treat to start the day. What truly makes this place stand out, though, is the wonderfully friendly staff. Their warm service always makes you feel welcome and is guaranteed to brighten your morning.

April 2025: Amazing quality and service. I had a beautiful champagne ham and cheese sandwich with a long black, which was exceptionally rich and smooth. What coffee beans do you use, folks? Then, I wanted to add a chocolate eclair but they were out. So they made a special one just for me. You're iconic! Please keep up the good work and maintain your exceptionally quality! July 2021: The peculiar waiter is still there. The new story goes as follows. There were quite a few people waiting for their ☕ outside. She came out with a cup, looking for the person who ordered it. First, she approached our table, when a cup of coffee was standing in front of each of us. Then, she approached another person who looked hesitant concerning whether this is the coffee that she ordered or not. Eventually this person took the coffee. However, after taking a couple of sips, she realized that it's not her order and returned it. The waiter took the cup and continued looking for their owner. She found them and tried giving it to them. Only when the owner said that there is lipstick on the cup and she can't have it, the waiter went away promising to return with another cup. @La Petite, it might be the time to take your Fourchette and get your customer service back to your standards. June 2021: They were amazing and then they hired a new staff member. She messed up our order, brought us something else and when we told her that this is not what we asked for she just took it back; we went to the counter to remind the more senior person what we actually ordered. Then she brought the dish, apologized, and smashed the coffee lit when putting the dish on the table. Will try to avoid this kind of service next time. May 2021: A real French 💎. Various goods that make it hard to choose. And the got a new set of cakes.

Accidentally discovered this unique artistic bakery cafe yesterday. Came back today by myself for my feast. Impressed by the look of the pie, more impressed by the unique pastry taste. There’s no oily buttery feels, but nicely balanced of flaky crust. Detailed mousse cake with very unique and details taste. I love strong latte. This place gonna be my top spot to chill from now on. More selections in the morning, after lunch, it’s coffee n cake time. Just like me. My emptied plates proved my reviews 🥰🥰

Nice little vegan bakery that is good enough to fool any non vegan. They have a wide variety of sweet and savoury options. They have some basic outdoor seating I loved everything, highly recommend the biscoff cheesecake!

The best! Absolutely delicious. We dont live in Auckland anymore but everytime we are here we come straight to Tart Bakery and visit multiple times. Sandwiches are great and doughnuts. Croissants are a personal favorite though.

We tried the chicken and mushroom, Spanish, and tofu pies for breakfast. The chicken pie was really nice and quite unique because they marinated the chicken, making it soft, unlike the typical chicken pie.

One of the best vegan spots in all of New Zealand! It has such an amazing range of cakes, pastrys and sandwiches! The Biscoff Cookie Croissant is honestly one for the tastiest things I've ever eaten in my life and I can't stop thinking about it! Definitely a must-go-to place when you're passing through Auckland!!

THE BEST CHEESE SCONE IN ALL OF NEW ZEALAND!!! It’s perfect — not too dry and crumbly but not cakey either; tender yet chewy; loads of cheese in texture and flavour but not overpowering; almost caramelized on top. All of this served toasted with the most amazing whipped brown butter?!?! Heavenly!! The coffee is also wonderful. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. Highly recommend!

We used Scratch Bakers to cater for a small work meeting (under 10 colleagues) and were extremely happy with the delicious food for morning tea, impeccable service (especially when we had an address blip on delivery morning!) and would highly recommend their catering service. I will definitely pop into the bakery / cafe itself for some lunch nibbles sometime soon. Thanks guys, really great food and service!

Come here often for great coffee! The small little prosciutto-truffle croissant is amazing. Would love large version of it. Pistachio croissant was a letdown, taste a bit too much like an artifical flavour. Chocolate cruffin was very nice. The place gets busy but won't let you down. Staff Is pretty onto it!

Best cafe in town by far! Amazing coffee, yummy breakfast, a great looking cabinet of which everything is made on site in the bakery hence the name "Scratch" such a nice atmosphere and the staff are lovely too.

Bought myself a tiramisu cake for my birthday and it was the best one I've had all my life. Just came by to pick up and yet i was able to have great conversations with the staff and the pastry chef! shoutout to the best team ever they deserve all the hype please visit them!!!! x

been here few times as lockdown goes longer you try to find new cafes to go saw scratch bakers sounds like a proper bake shop which they somehow make from scratch so it should be fresh so far we have tried the plain and almond croissant, frozen beef cheek pie, steak toastie and ham brioche and their coffees the coffee were good the large size runs small all the croissants disnt taste and looks fresh the frozen pie were good when we heat at home it was moist and had a great flavor. The steak toastie was also good the brioche is a mistake the onion for me was too strong the quality of the brioche was mushy the display area for pastries and donuts looks underwhelming they all look old

Got a steak and cheese potato top pie for $8.30. Pie was piping hot with great gravy, big pieces of steak, a generous amount of smooth well seasoned potato and cheese that you can actually taste! Left with a full warm belly, Perfect for the miserable rainy days 😋 will definitely be back to try more of the huge variety offered

Found hide jade from Kingston, Auckland. It was pouring rainy day but many people came. Impressed of their veriety choices. Kind of big portion for one and prices were not too bad. Highly recommend.

Awesome variety unfortunately, the food we ordered was overhyped, overrated and overpriced. Ordered the Chicken/bacon/mushroom potato top (best seller), pulled pork pie, steak and cheese potato top, Pumpkin/Ginger soup, seafood chowder, Mini bacon/egg quiche, cream donuts and Mocha frappe + mango smoothie. The seafood chowder was disgusting. It came out with a film on it, as if microwaved and straight to the table. It was FULL of chunks of veges (pumpkin, corn, carrots, peas etc) and seafood was almost non existent. I found 4 pieces of Mussel (made up 1 whole mussel) and 2 tiny shrimp. We took it home thinking we’d eat it when starving but ended up throwing it away. The chicken/bacon/mushroom pie was the nicest thing we ate but I couldn’t find mushroom. Pulled pork pie was dark orange in colour and didn’t taste like you’d expect for pulled pork. Mini quiches were fine, nothing special. Only get the pumpkin soup if you like Ginger as the Ginger was overpowering (I liked the soup). The first Mocha frappe I ordered was really nice and the lady was really friendly/smiley and attentive despite it being lunch rush hour. After the rush, I ordered another to take away from another server and it was the complete opposite, no smile, wasn’t friendly and she seemed annoyed when putting the transaction through. I said thank you and she just looked away while yelling my order across the room. When it came it didn’t taste the same, was bland, had more coffee in it and less chocolate. It’s Sad - the level of service differs amongst staff, food is overpriced (spent $93 for WHAT) and overall inconsistency in quality. Hardly any parking but that was the least of my concern after the above. This place was recommended but I won’t be recommending to anyone!

I grew up in Kingsland and loved Connors Bakery like so many locals but this was my first visit to The Bakers Cottage - and it didn't disappoint! I brought two gourmet potato top pies and two huge donuts for about $27. The first potato top pie was fantastic - great pastry and tasty filling - and the cream and apple donuts were amazing too (but not like the Connor Bakery donuts) but the highlight was the meatball potato top pie which the friendly lady at the store recommended to me! Again beautiful pastry, and tasty meatballs together with the rich tomato sauce and melted cheese make this wonderful pie top three pies I've ever enjoyed! I'll be back for more, there's so much to love about the great pies and donuts they create here🥳

Seriously good cafe/bakery, best part is dog friendly (inside, covered). The risotto was seriously good and even the small portion was fulfilling. Best Ham and Cheese Tosti I have had in a long time in NZ.

I recently tried the Tiramisu Cake Jar from Bluebells Cakery, and it was absolutely delicious! The cake was fresh, rich, and perfectly balanced with flavors. The bakery itself is very nice, and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. What I loved most is the variety they offer – from cheesecakes and muffins to macarons, pastries, and these amazing cake jars. There are so many tempting options to choose from, and everything looks so fresh and inviting. Definitely a place worth visiting if you have a sweet tooth. Highly recommend the tiramisu cake jar!

How good! Love the range of cup cakes and a key is to order online ahead of time including their cake sample box - a slice from each of their top cakes. Gluten free options taste great. Friendly staff. Definitely returning ...they also do a take away high tea set up. Great for mums day.

Probably one of the worst cake i had. While he sponge cake base was ok the glazing on the top was sooo sweet and taste cheap aspartame with odd texture... none of the guest finished their slice, finished in the bin. Change your pastry chef..

I gotta say, this store is just awesome. The decor is all pink and super cute, and the cakes are just bursting with color and flavor. I grabbed some macarons and cupcakes for a family get-together, and let me tell you, they were a hit with everyone, kids and grown-ups alike. They really topped off our dinner perfectly. Can't wait to swing by again and enjoy some coffee and more of those amazing cakes. Oh, and shoutout to the waiter who was super nice and helpful during my visit.

Lovely cupcakes. My favourite is the banana it is so moist and delicious and I appreciate that they aren’t too sweet. The icing to cake ratio is just right and they make a lovely gift because they are so pretty. I would also like to say that I had very nice and friendly service from the blonde girl with glasses. She was chatty and friendly even during a rush and her coffee was delicious. She was caring and explained each flavour to me. Thank you for the lovely service and I look forward to returning soon!

As a tourist, my sister and I were looking for some cute cake options for our family’s bday. So pleased to have come across this shop on google with their great selection of cakes and cupcakes. Their food is perfect (the selection that we tried wasn’t too sweet and had a great taste). & to top it off we received such welcoming and friendly service which definitely made this place a must visit. Will definitely buy again during our trips to Auckland.

Daily Bread is an amazing spot in the city for both food and coffee. We visited on a buzzing Saturday morning, and the place was packed—always a good sign. The selection is impressive, with plenty of options from cabinet food to menu dishes. Our food was tasty, the egg baguette in particular was delicious, and the coffee was solid. No major faults there. The cabinet offerings looked great as well, and I’d definitely be keen to try a salad next time. Service isn’t really the focus here—there’s not much in terms of customer connection, and you go mainly for the food. The online ordering was offline due to the high demand, which is understandable but added to wait times. Staff did well keeping the inside clean, though the outside tables could have used a bit more attention. Overall, a reliable spot for quality food and coffee, even if the customer service side feels minimal.

Located on the waterfront Britomart development, the Daily Bread cafe offers a wonderful experience for good coffee and breakfast favourites! The huge selection of breads and brunch options should satisfy most dinners! The croissant 🥐 is great but not sure about their take on the classic almond croissant, which has been turned into a hazelnut croissant and even one made with chocolate!! Service is friendly and overall a great selection and taste! The general building is beautiful and easy to find! Enjoy your coffee and sweets!!

I went here over the weekend to catch up with some friends, and it turned out to be a nice little spot for a casual meet-up. The atmosphere was cozy and not too loud, which made it easy for us to chat. We ordered a few pastries and they were quite nice fresh and not overly sweet. Nothing too fancy, but it hit the spot. Everything came out quickly and the staff were polite and efficient. Overall, it’s a good option if you’re looking for somewhere simple and comfortable to hang out with friends on the weekend.

It’s a lovely place for breakfast or brunch, with a great selection of pastries that are all fresh and delicious. I tried the croissants, which were buttery and flaky, and the coffee was excellent too. The mocha was rich and smooth, making the whole experience even better.

I was really excited to try a Too Good To Go surprise bag from Daily Bread, especially after seeing others receive a nice variety of pastries and breads. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. My bag contained three identical bread slices and nothing else. This doesn’t feel like a “surprise” or good value, just leftovers without any effort or variety. I love the idea behind reducing food waste, and I expected better from Daily Bread given their usual quality. I hope they take more care in preparing these bags in the future, because this felt quite misleading compared to what customers are shown or expecting. Plus the value of these r lowers than the value listed on the app. I would appreciate if the owners can contact me on dealing with this issue. As i sent email and got no reply.

Daily Bread is a bakery cafe offering bread, pie, deli, coffee, all kinds of Western-style breakfast options. I got myself a Bolognese rosemary mozzarella pie ($10) and iced chocolate ($6). And smh I spent $17. I remembered it clearly iced chocolate is same price as hot chocolate ($6). Maybe it’s an error on the menu since it’s a new item. Who would pay $7 for iced chocolate 🤷. Ordering + Order and pay at the counter. You get your pie immediately. For your drink you will get a table number stand. Now find a seat and wait. Picking your autistic seat + I recommend lower floor seats. Higher floor is too busy, too many sensory inputs. Check my video and photo for the cafe layout. Water & Napkins + Both are self-service. Plus they have $0 soda water. Food - 8.5/10 + Pie is delicious, I love mozzarella. + State the obvious. Iced chocolate is just chocolate with A LOT OF ICE. Who would pay $7 for that. Buy yourself a BUBBLE TEA PLS😭 Service - $7/10 I really want to give this cafe 5 stars. However I couldn’t get over that iced chocolate so 4 stars. 🤓👌 Update: Sep 19 12:25pm I went to this place just to check the menu. And the new menu with iced chocolate item in it is not on the counter anymore. There’s an old menu on the glass cabinet. My conclusion is yep there’s an error in that new menu.

Me and my friend came here for the first time to enjoy a nice meal, the matcha latte was excellent, but the service and food was not good. We repeated ourselves to the servers so many times our order and they kept asking us if we were waiting for anything. We also got 2 sides of hollandaise sauce, the server even asked the chef how much to charge and if they had any. The chef said yes. So charged us $6 for extra hollandaise, the mains came out without the sides of hollandaise we ordered, again I had to repeat myself asking where our hollandaise was. We waited and the server came back with cash and apologised and said they ran out. What a waste of time that was. We spent nearly $93 on our whole meal and the food was disappointing. Bread was dry and hard, eggs plain and pork belly was thin. It was the most basic meal iv ever spent a lot of money on. I left the cafe feeling disappointed and ripped off, didn’t even eat my whole meal because of how disappointing it was. Atmosphere was good, latte was good but food and service a big NO

We always enjoyed The Caker cakes, so we asked The Caker to make our wedding cake too and as usual, it didn't disappoint us! Picking the 3 flavours for our 3-tiered wedding cake was the most difficult part! Thank you for catering all our dietary requirements of our guests, no one missed out, whether they were vegan or gluten free. Thanks again for all your work!

I was gifted a cake kit and have been hooked ever since. Their cake kits are absolutely amazing and have never failed me. I've tried almost all of their cake kits (haven't tried the new banana one yet). Recently ordered a black forest cake for a birthday and picked it up from the store. Beautiful cake, was a bit on the dense side but still a fantastic cake. None of the cakes have ever been overly sweet, always balanced just right. Highly recommend getting their cake kits and trying a few of their cakes. Will definitely be buying more cake kits soon!

Beautiful cake for my son’s birthday. Price was good. Got the chocolate banana one. Not as sweet as I would like it. But these cakes are way better than super market cakes. I think the texture is great for birthday and wedding cakes. Not like 5 star restaurant dessert cakes. But beats all other kinds of cakes. My wedding cake banquet was absolutely delicious and looked amazing. I didn’t give too much of a brief as to what I wanted because when people who work magic are left to have creative licence over what they do best it is always bound to turn out epic. When I collected the cakes the person at the front desk was so joyful & I was so thrilled with how it looked I don’t know who had the bigger smile! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for adding to our big day in so many ways. Our guests raved about the cakes too.

OMG ordered a cake from here for my own birthday and it was absolutely DeLish. This lemon and raspberry cake was to die for as it was sooo yummmmmyyy and decorated so gorgeously. I would highly recommend this place and definitely will order from here again to try other flavours.

Its pretty dam fabulous! Have ordered a number of times from The Caker and it never disappoints. We could not even tell the difference between the gluten free and non gluten free cakes. So delicious, there was barely any left overs! You won't be disappointed - just remember to go for their decorations though, as it just tops off the look!

Catroux has a decent selection available from their menu or their cabinet. Service was pretty good considering how busy it was when we arrived. We ordered their smoked salmon bagel and their mince and cheese pie (from the cabinet) for a quick bite in the morning. We also got some mochas (we also wanted a vanilla latte, but they didn’t have syrups, which surprised us), but the mochas were good. The pie had a great crust. The mince had more of a Mexican-style flavour, which wasn’t quite what I expected, as I was hoping for a more traditional gravy style, but it was still enjoyable. The smoked salmon bagel had nice ingredients that I think complemented each other nicely. The salmon stood out as the clear leader, but not overpowering, as it can often be.

I had the Fitness Bowl ($28) and Tumeric Glow smoothie ($12.50). Was it worth it for a $40 meal? No. Firstly, it took forever to order, it is a busy place but the service was good. My Fitness Bowl was missing the tahini yoghurt, which was needed to bring the whole meal together and poached egg was over-cooked. It was a hard boil egg, so the meal was very dry….and there was no seasoning. Add the chewy dry halumi….the Fitness bowl was a disappointment. The Tumeric Glow smoothie was a yellow coconut, banana milkshake. It was thin and I could not taste the mango and passionfruit …which was the main reason why I ordered it. I feel that due to the place being so busy, there was a lack of attention to what was being prepared, put together and served. The only thing that had to be cooked was the poached egg…which was an utter fail.

This was our first time here on the suggestion from a friend. The cafe is rather intimate and clean but quite noisy due to the large crowds both seated and those in the long queue. That made it very hard to have a contact the table, especially if one of the group speaks quietly. The staff seem quiet friendly even under stress. Our elderly friend loved her wee cake, my husband liked the quiche but I tried to like it but not really. Next time I’ll choose something from the delicious looking cake section. The negative thing from our first visit here was my coffee was completely forgotten and we had to ask twice if it was coming. We were asked what size we had ordered (what?) and it did arrive in less than 3 minutes after this question. Sadly I didn’t enjoy it at all as the coffee tasted burnt and bitter so I couldn’t drink it. My husband did as he said, “it’s paid for and I’m not wasting it!” The prices are quite reasonable. We will go back just to see if our experience can be improved, fingers crossed it will be.

I wish the New Catroux success however I will pass for quite some time I realise they were on their 3rd day of their new premises & we expected delays ..my expectations were based on my previous experiences from their previous address .. The food served to me was a shock & while placing the egg which had slipped off one potato Rosti I was still very much unable to make my meal attractive in anyway so I asked for another plate to Re plate & attempted to make my meal more presentable.. my regret is that I ate any of it at all but being polite you try not to spoil anymore the occasion for others .. There was no other cooked meal that went passed that I would go back for being a foodie although mine was the worst that we saw however some of the cabinet food which you can see & looked fresh & appetising.. Staff were polite & atmosphere very pleasant # Picture posted is of my smoked fish eggs Benedict after I had replaced one egg without success of looking appetising..

We had the BEST lunch today. The salads are next level, and the menu is varied and everything sounds great. Allpress coffee of course. The new premises are spacious and fresh and the staff are friendly and efficient. What more could one want? We'll make this our regular from now on. Wendy & Victor

I’ve tried many French bakeries in Auckland, but this place has the most authentic baguette, just like the ones in France. The crust is perfectly crispy, while the inside is soft and airy. Nowhere else comes close to this quality. All their breads are delicious, but I highly recommend the baguette!

Had high hopes and ended up eating some crunchy stuff and a hair which is clearly not supposed to be in the sandwich. The girl at the counter processing payment didn’t say anything or smile at least. I’m sure this place is great but i’ll never come again.

Absolutely love this place. The sandwiches are fresh and generous with incredible bread, the sweats are so perfect each and every time. There is always something new to try, love the variety. The prices are exceptional for the quality, i really hope they can keep it on this level, as it is one of the main reasons why people keep coming back for so often. The best bakery in Auckland! The texture of the salmon croissant is really delicious—it's not sweet, crispy, and soft in the center. We bought chocolate éclairs, coffee éclairs, Le Brie de Meaux, and coffee for breakfast for three people. I highly recommend trying the coffee éclairs. I will definitely go there again!

Hands down the best bread in NZ! The baguette is incredible. Just make sure to go in the morning before everything sells out. Staff are mostly great—if everyone was super friendly, this place would be flawless.

We always see long queues on the weekends around 9am, so we decided to try it for the first time on a weekday at 7:45am. No queue, the staff that served us was friendly, passionate about the food, polite, was observant to our needs, especially my mom’s indecisiveness and language barrier. The items we ordered were all DELICIOUS and fresh out of the oven, the staff ensured she got us fresh and hot ones from the baking trays! Highly recommend the croque monsieur and the pain au chocolat! We will definitely make this a regular week day breakfast pick up place! Value for money for quite memorable pastries!

Great pies and pastries. We tried the creamy paua and the steak and cheese, both were really good. We also had the pistachios mini croissants, a very filling lunch. Will definitely visit again.

Had high hopes, arrive at 830am. Ordered mince and cheese pie and a scallops and prawn Mince filling and texture was excellent 5/5, unfortunately warm and uncomfortable to eat. Scallop and prawn was horrible and potato texture was sandy, very fishy and stale unedible, could not have more than a mouth fill , felt as if it had been in pie warmer for days. Pastry on top was excellent and nice base. A big selection of pies.. Very sad start of the morning

Now, first time here. Came before of the many good reviews. So the likes, their was a line waiting, a lot of pies to chose from, didn’t have to wait, the pie that I chose today was a CREAMY PAUA and mocha coffee.

There is a queue, but it get to my turns pretty quick, the staff are working fast! Pie is good, hot and smells good when I bought it. Taste good as well! The size of the pie is a little bigger than the pies i got from other places.

Found this beautiful pie place, and tried their wagyu red curry pie 🥧the size of pie was big, they do have a a large variety of pie, you can always go for regular ones like mince and cheese and they are phenomenal as well… once you enter the shop you’ll be greeted with number of awards frame on wall, and giving you a brief idea that the pie are gonna be better…i tried some sweet delicacy like pistachio filled donut but sadly it was too cold and i couldn’t taste it any better…

I was quite disappointed with my recent experience. The food served was not adequately warm, which was unexpected considering I spent around $60. When I brought this to the attention of the sales assistant, the food was simply reheated but still not sufficiently hot. For the price and standard expected, the quality and service were below expectations. I hope the management can look into maintaining better consistency in food temperature and customer service.

Came here on the hunt for creamed paua pie and ended up getting other foods. In the end got the creamed paua, venison Guinness cheese pie and blueberry tart. All 3 pies were so damn good, pastry nice and flaky, the venison was filling and the paua was creamy but not much filling. Can understand why though with the price /kg for paua. The place is pricey as whole so don't expect to spend cheap but the reward is getting premium tasting pies so didn't mind to spend it just to try it. It's not pies you'd eat regularly like a steak n cheese, this bakery is more for an experience. They had a lobster pie which I completely forgot about and was the other reason why I wanted to come here but that pie is $22! Would have to come back next time when I'm rich to try it. Overall a pretty kool experience eating pies you don't usually find everyday. Recommended, but don't be surprised by how pricey it is

Great little cafe. Freshly baked croissants, pan au chocolate, almond croissant. My fave ! So good that I had to buy a box to take with me back to Christchurch. Really close to where we are staying at Parkside Hotel too which is a bonus. Will be back again next time we are in Auckland. Thank you team.

Been to Fort Green twice, located on K-Road. Discovered in 2023 while browsing one morning before an event, and visited again in 2024 when in Auckland as the last leg of my journey. Great service and friendly staff, great location, and great food both times! Always seems to be well populated with diners, and probably one of my first overall choices.

Good coffee, two days in a row, and great pastries on day two - a hot cross bun for Easter, a cruffin and a pain au chocolate. Great. Nice buzz and friendly atmosphere.

Come for the Ruben Sandwich and stay for the coffee/pastry combo. A friendly cafe with an excellent choice of delicious breakfast bites and good quality coffee. Only minor issue is the few dubious people whom roam the area. However, I assume where the government has failed, the local business owners have stepped up by employing a security company.

We had great lattes and really yummy pastries - both savoury and sweet. The scones are really popular and sell out really fast. There were many other pastries which looked delicious and the varieties were always changing. Will definitely pop by again. The double rainbow outside the cafe was a bonus!

Tried the almond croissant, tiramisu cake, and a long black—everything was excellent! The almond croissant was beautifully flaky with a rich filling inside, not too sweet and really satisfying. The tiramisu cake was light yet indulgent, with just the right balance of coffee, cream, and sponge. The long black paired perfectly—smooth, strong, and well-brewed. Definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re after quality pastries, cakes, and coffee.

#neighbourhood cafe# A warm neighbourhood café with friendly staff. I like the scones more than the bread pudding, which is quite ordinary. Maybe next time I’ll try the pastry that looks crispy.

This place must be super popular cause by the time I got there around 11:30 a.m most of the bread was already gone. Grabbed a croissant and a pain au chocolat. the croissant was big, buttery, and sooo good. The pain au chocolat could use a bit more chocolate, but the pastry itself was really tasty. The bakery’s pretty small, so finding a seat isn’t the easiest. Definitely wanna come back and try their other stuff.

I visited Auckland for a short trip and this place was on my visiting lists for bakery. I’m so happy I got to visit their bakery, their pastries are amazing. Coffee and hot chai latte are great. Would definitely come back here. Just one thing off, I ordered a plain SD but got a sesame one instead - still good tho. Just wish that I could try the regular one.

Tried panettone which is definitely delicious and the best. Canele is nice too with crispy crust outside and soft fill-in. Asparagus roll is a new taste. It is a pity that we didn’t buy their pie, and will try pies next time . Seats available outside

The cutest bakery tucked amongst some local shops in Westmere. I quite liked the simple aesthetic, no usual glass counter in the front, but a line up display of baked goods and labels. Everything you order looks exactly as displayed. I had every intention of just popping in for a humble Potato Top pie, but I was intrigued to say the least. I had more than my fair share! The staff are also friendly and lovely. The atmosphere is perfectly casual with a cute bench out the front where you can park yourself down for that first awaited nibble of pastry. I'll keep coming back for more!

Next level pastries - The Louise Slice Croissant is incredible. Don’t be fooled by the long line - it moves quickly as do the attentive staff making excellent coffee!

We have been ordering from City Cake for years now. Despite never having met, Tracy is always so accommodating and amazing even during this busy holiday period. I’m sure I changed our order at least three times but her reply was always the same “no problem. All done!”. When we gift these cakes to clients we get nothing but positive feedback about how moist and yummy the cakes are. Give them a go, you won’t regret it.

Such lovely people to deal with. We have dealt with the City Cake company for many years ordering cakes for our staff with major birthdays or personally for family celebrations. They are genuinely interested in assisting you to get exactly what you want. Super helpful and always pleasant. As for the cakes! Oh my goodness, they stand alone in quality. They are rich, moist and decadent. The top feedback from staff is that they love the Chocolate with the Belgium frosting but the Banana with caramel is also a hard one to beat. If you have a special occasion, you can't go past these cakes. We have never been disappointed.

City Cake company was amazing to deal with. I ordered a "one off" celebration cake for my daughter's 30th birthday. I had emailed 5 different cake companies in Auckland and City Cake and only one other replied. I am so happy I chose City Cake Company. Tracy was very prompt and clear in her emails. The cake itself was exquisitely decorated and the flavour of the cake was delicious. I felt it was very well priced and most definitely was one of the highlights of our birthday dinner. I would not hesitate using this company again. Thank you to you all.

It's always a treat to visit this cafe. Beautifull presentation makes it very hard to choose which delicious morsels to try. We went for a Caramelized onion and Feta Tart and a Raspberry and coconut scone. The tart was served with a small salad and was so delicious! We liked the scone but it was a bit crumbly to eat. Coffee was great, hot and strong. I will return.

All the evil treats are right here. I am instantly happy even just looking at them. The taste of their goodies is always the best.

Staff were super friendly and good service. Coffee from eight thirty was great - both the long black and flat white. Interior was spacious with high celinings and nicely decorated white interior throughout. When we visited there was only a small selection of goods compared to other Little and Friday branches, but understandable as they had a notice to say they were short staffed. Staff did really well despite being short staffed. Would like to experience again once staffing is better.

I have mixed feelings about this place currently - the food is amazing and great options for cabinet food. But the service or arrogant and sometimes almost rude. Also can be really slow - 20mins for a takeaway coffee when there’s 8 people in the cafe? Have to be careful because there’s so many good cafe options in Taka - sure, your food is great, but ditch the attitude

Came here for the first time after the belmont store closed down. I got a BLAT and it was delicious. Want to go back for the desserts. The staff was friendly too :)

No takeaway long black should take 20 minutes. This isn’t the first time we have waited this long here, there just seems to be no sense of urgency. When you’ve got other options down the road and next door it’s surprising these guys aren’t prioritizing customer service. I watched several tables follow up on missing coffees and food, so at least we knew it wasn’t personal - everyone was getting the same level of poor service.

We were lucky to stumble on this corner cafe/bakery on our lunch hour. The toasted samdwich was pretty much perfect, very balanced flavours and perfect golden crust, with bread baked on site. Coffee was also delicious. The serving staff were very friendly and attentive. A bit pricey but worth it. Relaxed jazz music set the atmosphere just right.

Great Food, lovely barista and baker. Second time visiting and still a great 5/5. The upstairs has tables and chairs for more seating. Really recommend the sandwiches, Florets seem to switch them up time to time but never disappoints! Also, pet friendly so bring your animal friends too!! 🐾

Florets is a fav spot in Auckland city. Very calm & friendly vibe—Maya is always happy to chat which is so lovely. I like the dedicated retail from local makers too. If you need a recommendation: always grab a chocolate rye cookie! P.S. if you don’t know already, there is more seating upstairs!

I had a very frustrating experience at Florets Cafe. I ordered a toasted sandwich from the counter, clearly pointing to the exact one I wanted. After waiting 21 minutes, the wrong item arrived—not a big deal, mistakes happen. However, when I inquired about the rest of my order (a loaf of bread and a chocolate bun), the staff member who took my order claimed I hadn’t ordered anything else. After checking, they brought me the bread but not the chocolate item. At this point, I had to go inside and ask the manager, who apologized, saying the server didn’t speak English. Why put someone in a position where they’re set up to fail? Finally, I received the chocolate item I had paid for—except it wasn’t chocolate at all. Instead, it was a bun filled with Christmas pie-style mixture, completely different from what I ordered. Overall, a frustrating experience with poor communication, long wait times, and incorrect orders. I won’t be returning.

This is the cleanest food place I have ever seen in my life. The vibration frequency emitted by the staff is very high. I would come here often if I lived nearby. It is definitely suitable for working, reading and enjoying life time comfortably.

Florets has become part of my weekly routine because their food is unreal. From the treats to the bread . You will not find a better loaf of bread for toast than their seeded rye loaf. It is pricey but it won’t disappoint!! It’s a highlight of my week walking in on Friday and being served by nice staff. Thank you guys! Only thing that sucks is they aren’t open 7 days a week but it’s worth the wait :)

The ambience of the place is amazing and takes you to a place where you could just sit back and relax. The food was on point. Mezze for Two was fresh and bread soft and hot. Dips were also amazing. Chicken with rice and 3 other sides were also succulent. We also ordered the non alcoholic sodas which were a 7/10. They could have had a bit more flavour in them but they did compliment the food. Portion sizes are a little disappointing in comparison to the price one pays. Staff though were all really good and very welcoming, and interacted with us to make sure we were comfortable with everything.

I came here with a friend during Ramadan. The staff were very accommodating and wanted to serve our food in time for Iftar. They gave us the option of free lentil soup or dates for the month of Ramadan which was very lovely. The hummus here is divine and a must order. I loved their sabich the eggplant with chickpeas and hummus, chefs kiss! The skewers are super fresh they are my go to! Highly recommend😍

A large, spacious, and bright restaurant with an amazing and lovely atmosphere. We were looking for halal breakfast and found this place just two minutes' walk from our hotel. We ordered two types of eggs with falafel. The place is clean, and the staff are friendly and cheerful. I highly recommend it. I’m from Bahrain (a country from the Arabian Gulf).

Excellent restaurant in the heart of downtown Auckland. Amazing food - I had bharat spiced chicken, and halloumi, followed by their hot cross bun pudding. Mains come with various sides. The chef/owner is very proud of her restaurant, and rightly so. Highly recommended - it's worth buying their recipe book. Oh, and dependent on availability, the hot cross buns are incredible - they use the same recipe in the pudding.

A Cozy Experience at Ima Cuisine… Ima Cuisine is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the warm, cozy vibe and lovely lighting set the perfect mood for dinner. We started with the mezze platter…The pillowy, fresh pita paired beautifully with the creamy hummus, smoky baba ganoush, and smooth labneh. The pickled veggies added the perfect punch, and the falafel was crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside—some of the best falafels I’ve had in a while. For mains, we shared the halloumi and chicken along with a variety of sides. I’m already planning my next visit—especially during the day so I can have their famous hot cross buns! If you're looking for comforting, authentic Middle Eastern flavours in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, Ima Cuisine is a must-visit. Highly recommend :)

One of the best market/cafe/bistro/shop. I've been at! They have a number of varied stalls to choose from, with good seating capacity-- although it gets filled up quickly, especially in Sundays. My favourites: - they serve the BEST coffee (Gravity beans). There's always a long line of people, waiting for their morning coffee fix ☕ - Tahsin's Market - sells the BEST hummus with so much variety. You can try to sample first before you buy, but everything is so good you'll end up getting confused on which to get 😅 It's typically $5 per tub, but when we went the next day, it was $10 for 3 tubs. Not sure if that's a usual discount, but make sure to take advantage of that - Paella Pan - there's usually a line here as well because of the delicious paella! I know rice in the morning is pretty heavy but so worth it. The guy cooking/serving is also quite nice so that's a plus. $15 for a small serving (good for 1-2), $18 for large (good for 2-3 people) - French Crepes - sweet ending after eating so much savoury food ❤ La Cigale is definitely a must try! 😍

Interesting market and dined at the La Cigale Bistro during the market’s 21 birthday. Little hard to find tables initially but once we settle down it’s a great place to sample some great food 🥪🥘, do some people (and dog) watching and take home some crusty burgettes🥖🥖!! If you want to explore Parnell further, on a sunny day🌞, recommend that you visit the market, then walk to the Roses Garden🌹🌹and drop by the little inner-city forgotten paradise at Judges Bay reserve 😊...

Absolutely loved the French markets. Some great food outlets they have a great coffee selection inside and out. A good time to go is about midday on a Sunday an hour before it closes is a few vendors have specials like the Turkish guy was is hummus selection. Also they have a great range of organic vegetables.

It’s not a French market, there are products from everywhere which is nice to see. I went there with the kids and we all found something different to eat. It is quite pricey for a market but it has nice atmosphere. Best stall for me was the doggy treats!

Very poor experience at the cheese shop, the staff was very rude and just focused on getting you to buy things. They didn’t give us the right information so we had to leave after purchasing over 75 dollars in cheese and bread because we were not allowed to drink the bottle of wine we took outside. They didn’t explain clearly the type of license they got so we ended up in living. The market is lovely, if you can I would rather spend my money in the other stands rather than the cheese shop inside.

The weekend markets are the buzz of Parnell, where people come to meet friends, get their weekly produce, and try some amazing foods. Featuring large open spaces, unique decor and frequent live performances. There is a full time cafe and a healthy food shops around. The food here is pretty great, especially the baked goods..worth a visit!

Love the variety and wide selection of food and drinks sold here. The ambiance is so relaxed even with the crowds. Such a cool food market. They open early on weekends until around 2pm if i'm not mistaken, so can get breakfast or lunch here and some souvenirs, clothes etc other than the food.

Brought my friend from Australia here — Olaf’s is always a solid choice. Mt Eden is easy to walk around, and it’s just a nice area to chill. We grabbed coffee and pastries, then popped over to Time Out Bookstore nearby. Such a cute little shop, super friendly vibe, and fun to browse. Great morning spot!

The food selection, quality and general vibe of Olaf was different from what I remember it use to be when it was first open. We went fairly early therefore a lot of things in the cabinet were not on display yet and the items for the menu were quite limiting. My croissant was pretty good. My mom said she enjoyed her dish, price wise it is the usual Mt eden village price point.

After climbing one tree hill, we decided to find a brunch. Finally we chose this restaurant, it was a good choice.

It's definitely going through a bit of change. I'm not a regular (don't live in the area), but that's how obvious it is. Customer service was abysmal compared to before - no greeting, no offer of menu, and there's no pricing anywhere. The decor was still the same, but it didn't have that warm, "quaint" cafe feel to it any more. Ordered a "peanut brownie" cake(?) in the display cabinet, and a long black. The cake was dry and close to the consistency of a biscotti. Long black was fine, but it would be pretty bad to mess up a long black when there's no queue. I noticed there was stain at the bottom of the cup, and on the saucer. And the two items cost about $15 (it was like $15.18 because of credit card and paywave surcharge)

My friend and I had a catch up lunch here on her recommendation. Ordered the French toast because I was in a brekkie sort of mood. I enjoyed my meal but wasn't a fan of the sugar coating on the brioche toast. I also got the mushroom empanada to take home (and I can report that it was complete deliciousness). Order at the till and your meal (if dining in) will be brought to your table. I really wanted to get the freshly baked bread to take home but will do this next time for sure. Great location and seating is available indoors and outdoors.

Olaf's Artisan Bakery Cafe is a solid choice for a quick and tasty meal. Overall the food was good, although the portions were on the smaller side for the price. As a bakery, I was also a bit disappointed that the meals didn't include more bread. However, these minor issues were easily overlooked due to the overall high quality of the meal. I tried the Gourmet Breakfast and paired it with an oat flat white, both of which were very tasty. The oat flat white, in particular, was creamy and smooth. While Olaf's may not offer the best value for money, the quality of the food and drinks more than make up for it. I would definitely recommend giving this bakery cafe a try and look forward to returning in the future.

Busy spot on a Saturday morning but worth the effort. Service was good and we didn't have to wait long for our meals or coffee. Bit of a diy assembly job for the smelt bagel but that's no biggie. Our group of four were all pleased with meals.

Bakery cabinet is very good and lots of yummy options. Kitchen food going out quickly but I’m not a fan of food decoration. Cafe on the other hand is a big let down. Drinks came to table when we nearly finish our food. Smoothie and iced coffee tasted like they’ve been blended in the same jug and not very fresh ingredients.

Love the decor and ambience of the cafe. The coffee was good and also the cream brûlée donut! We tried two dishes from the food menu (crispy corn fritter and Eton mess), not quite like them, sorry. However, the cabinet foods look great and We will come back to try out. Thank you.

Good family place to hang out. This cafe advertised as children friendly. I do not see many toys or any playground for young children to enjoy.

This is one of our favourite cafes! Although the menu changes seasonally, the food is always great. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the coffee is great. Part of the same group as Melba, B & B is worth the drive and the money. There’s also fresh bread and baked goods available in the cabinet. Personal recommendation: try the house hash brown!

As a Portuguese expat in New Zealand, I obviously had to taste the Portuguese tarts on display in the cabinet. I was impressed with their quality, but did find the dough was not as light and crispy as back home. Still good, nonetheless! The coffee is delicious and note that if you order a large flat white, you get it in a bowl! For the main, I had the crispy corn fritters and boy was I impressed! Don't be fooled by the photo where all you see is the scrumptious scrambled eggs. The fritters underneath managed to stay crisp all the way through to my last bite. The middle Eastern flavors were the icing on the cake. In addition, for a full house, the service sure was not delayed and was done with a smile on their faces. Well done!

Great looking place with a good variety of delicious breads and sweet stuff which seems to be all prepped & cooked on site. Service was pleasant enough but they seem to congregate more around the person making the coffee then servicing the tables. Coffee was good, we ordered the big breakfast meal but felt the price we paid and what was offered was a little underwhelming compared to what we have been used too. We got in early and saw how busy this place can get, it caters as a sit down cafe as well as a takeaway bakery.

We found Bread & Butter to be a super-vibrant eatery in the heart of Grey Lynn; an awesome selection in every department from sweet to savoury, a brunch menu full of temptations. It really felt like a bustling eatery and authentic bakery. The staff we encountered were friendly and genuinely cared about our experience. For example we found the base on our chicken pie slightly undercooked, and when passing on that feedback it was taken in good spirits the way it had been intended. But the food apart from that quibble was beyond stellar; the big “Baker’s Breakfast” one of the best versions I Can remember. The sausage was well appointed, seasoned and cooked, while the fresh toasted bread from their kitchen really lifted the whole plate. The custard tarts on the counter were too tempting to pass up so I had one of those, while my partner had his creamy chicken pie and his own indulgence of both an apple juice and and iced chocolate, served in pretty mason glassware. Given the selection and how warm and pleasant the whole experience was, I have no hesitation to say I hope to return in future when next visiting Auckland.

I came at 8 pm, bought a banana split waffle. Honestly, it's really not okay, the waffle was not hot and it feels not really good nothing special. I bought a small cake and it tastes just not really good This is the first and last for me. and really NOT RECOMMENDED

The waffles were ok. Presentation was a bit poor, especially the chocolate/banana waffles. You couldn't even see the bananas. You'll love it if you have a sweet tooth. It was waaaay too sweet for me. The toilet was disgusting. Men's toilet didn't have a seat, which was not hygienic and made it difficult for my son to use.

I have been to a few dessert places in the past already. I think the waffles here are the best of them all. We had the berry and the s'more waffles. The waffles are crispy and the s'more that I had was fluffy and was really good. However I think their drinks are below average compare to other places like house of chocolate. I had the 70% dark chocolate but it just doesnt feel right. The gimmicky aspect was nice but I think it is lacking in flavour. My partner's ice cream mocha was better but just average. Overall will try other waffles flavour but probably opt for just a plain coffee instead.

It was nice to see this place open on Easter Sunday. There was a variety of options to chose from and the barista was cute and friendly. But after all, this is a 🍨 place, which creates expectations. We picked a vegan chocolate dessert and it was disappointing. Sorry people, this is not how $10 dessert should taste like.

That chocolate loaded Belgian waffle was amazing and soooo sweet aka perfect. Got some reasonably priced wine to go with it and sit outside. Would go back. EDIT: we finally did go back 😄. Amazing ice cream cones and even Bailey's cocktails this time!

Organizing a wedding cake whilst overseas and three weeks before the big day has never been more easy and stress-free than when I chose Bluebells cakery for my wedding cake. From the enquiry stage to the confirmation stage, everything was so smooth and Charlotte was amazing! I have only ever tried coffee and pastries here before, but today tried their mushrooms on toast. This was freshly cooked, looked great on the plate, smelled marvelous, and was entirely delicious. Note - this isn't the usual creamed mushrooms, but is coarsely chopped garlic field mushrooms, with four additional cups stuffed with a lovely filling. Felt very French! Will definitely try their omelets next.

Not as expected. Normally Asian type of bread will be very soft, fluffy but their bread seems had been sitting on the shelf for few days. Bought 6 bun and 4 of them end up in the bin. And price wise also more expensive than the others like la couronne, classic bakehouse or welldone bakery.

Coffee bun, pineapple bun and lapis legit are my top 3. Feels like home when I’m eating them. Saturday delivery is a bonus!! Highly recommend Barby’s bakery :)

Few weeks ago found Mint Cakery and have since tried beef cheese pie, both flavours of sausage roll,cinnamon scroll and hot chocolate. in my 20plus years of traveling around Auckland and trying local cafe food this is by far the best place the food and service is the best quality around. Seriously the food has come from Heaven!

We live in the UK, our daughter in Auckland as she was celebrating her special birthday with friends I wanted a cake for them all so I emailed Sam at Mint Cakery who happily obliged with an amazing lemon and boysenberry cake delivered on time with no dramas. Zoe was thrilled with her surprise and loved by her friends too. Perfect in every way. Recommend them every time for service, delicious cakes and lovely Sam.

Dropped into Mint Cakery because I stumbled upon their new cookbook at paper plus this week, and thought I had to try it out before buying the book. Wasn’t disappointed. Cinnamon bun was really great - super moist with a generous amount of cream cheese frosting. The gluten free chocolate raspberry cake was just as good. Haven’t tried the donut yet, but I’m sure it will be amazing. Thanks guys!

Great food but budget coffee brand. Was my daily stop for a morning coffee and snack until the one day I dared turn up 2 minutes before opening time and gingerly knocked on the door wondering if they'd be interested in making me a coffee 2 minutes before the official opening. I was caught well off guard by the angry and rude staff member who informed me they weren't open. I went back to my car which by then there was 60 seconds until opening time, it felt too awkward to go back again, she obviously wasn't in the mood to serve people, so rather than bother her I went elsewhere and have never been back. You can't talk to your daily customers like that and expect them to return. I made a poor judgement call thinking you'd be OK to serve a coffee 2 minutes before opening. If you don't like your job or can't act civil to the people paying your salary, probably time you moved on.

Bought a couple of sausage rolls there and threw up thirty seconds later out the window , it was absolutely disgusting got food poisoning from it. This is not a good run bakery at all their hygiene is not at a good level since the existing owners took over from the original owners who were the best ,their food is not fresh at all they put spice on the savouries to hide the staleness taste and this is not the first bad experience. I highly would not recommend going to this bakery at all again .very disappointed! They need to be forced to close down .

I had a bacon and egg pie and there was not enough bacon only a few bits throughout the whole pie, the pie was okay itself I know that a lot of other bakeries put whole eggs in there but I personally prefer my eggs beaten.

Stock standard cheap bakery. Everything made as cheaply as they can, so you get what you pay for. I had a pie and a cream donut. Good prices, but middling quality.

Good selection of food at reasonable prices. However, prices have definitely crept up in the last 12 months - about 2 years ago this place was the cheapest on the shore. Not anymore though. Pies and sausage rolls are usually good, although every now and again you get a bad batch. Sweet treats are nice but I don’t rate the bakery items (buns, rolls, etc) as they sit out in the open all day, usually with flies around. Place is pretty dirty and could do with a good clean. Overall, a nice local bakery.

I must say Gold Star Bakery has literally THE BEST egg sandwich ever. Cold from the chiller and just like mom makes. I'll definitely go back for this new favourite.

I went here for breakfast today and it was super packed. Luckily, I only had to queue for about 20 minutes, which seemed reasonable for a Saturday. I ordered the banana pastry and the maple glaze monkey bread—both were flaky, buttery, and absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the iced matcha latte was the downside of my experience. While the flavor was good, the cup was about 3/4 filled with ice (as shown in my photo), and the actual drink was gone in just a few sips. It felt like a total rip-off and left me quite disappointed. Overall, great pastries but the iced drinks could use less ice! I’d give it 3.5 stars if I could.

Prepare yourself, this place gets busy, but for a completely understandable reason 💖 This cafe is BRILLIANT. There is a cabinet filled with some of the most gorgeous pastries that are consistently being restocked through the morning. My partner and I shared the pistachio croissant, black sesame croissant and the focaccia Reuben sandwich. Each of these were toasted and filled to the brim with their respective fillings. For the amount of orders ahead of us our order came relatively fast **cheers to the hardworking barista ✨ Their coffee was easy and smooth and their earl grey matcha was delightful (as opposed to a different review, I would say my matcha came with the perfect amount of ice) We will most certainly be back! - Note: there is limited indoor seating but plenty of areas to perch on outside

One of our favourite, go-to spots in the city! It's always super busy whenever we go, so we often have to queue for a while and finding a free table can be a challenge, but for us it's still worth the wait and visit. I have a love/hate relationship with the bacon and egg bap. Crappy bacon, egg yolk everywhere, crumbly bun. Not at Mibu. It was perfect. Brioche bun, perfectly scrambled egg and amazing chutney. And great coffee. Super fast and friendly service. Highly recommend.

Im a regular here and the pastries are always on point! They chnage it up quite often so great variety. I often find the coffee, especially the iced, kind of weak so always get an extra shot. Service is fine but the vibes of the place are great. Cool interior and decor.

The cafe is so pretentious and overrated. Knew someone who worked there and was told that they were underpaid whilst working there?!! Like c'mon, this is Remuera and all their food that they served were typical Remuera pricing. The boss is rude to their workers but the husband is quite sweet. The food is bland, the overuse of icing sugar on the almond croissants does not do s*** but the bread is decent. However, I would not go back for the whole experience. Such a shame...

The most pretentious cafe for miles around. The lady that owns the place is rude to her staff and had clearly never worked in hospitality before being given the store. The coffee is bland, the pastries are plain and overpriced. The garlic bread was the worst I’ve ever had, it felt like the whole thing was stored in oil overnight. And my god, the music. This place is just a terrible experience all round, avoid at all costs.

Stopped by Muzza’s Pies just before closing (around 1–2 pm), so there wasn’t much selection left. Managed to grab a mince and cheese pie from the shelving. It was between fish or mince. The filling was hearty and generous, though a tad salty for my taste. Would love to come back earlier in the day to try more flavours while the shelves are full!

Was recommended by a mate to check this place out. I visited after 3PM and the shop still had half a dozen customers queuing for pies - a very good sign!! This really is the good stuff; and they don't even need to tell you how good it is - the reviews speak for themselves!! Absolutely full pies, with rich gravy in both pies I bought. The smoked fish pie was the best seafood pie I've had. Definitely a doozy to check out yourself!!

Can I give 100 thumbs up???? Very impressive quality pie. To me, the best pie in Auckland by far. I went for Blue Cheese but it was not ready yet. May be next time. So we had Steak-Jalapeño + Steak n Cheese and Steak Super Cheese. High quality pastry. Not too thick not too thin. Good flavour and crust when bite. Fantastic filling. Using good quality beef and good quality cheese. Jalapeño one is not spicy to me, understand the flavour made for everyone not just for me. I can live with that 😃 Usually I do not eat pie but Muzza’s Pie changed my pie appreciation. Love this Really love this.

Fantastic pies here, evident with the queues of pple out the door and the trance like smell of pies 100m away. The popular varieties are all sold out so I went for the Steak n Pepper , Steak bacon n cheese , custard tart and apple pie. Pies are full of real meat, flavorful and crust is awesome. Custard tart is light and moreish. Apple pie is ok. The only criticism I have is the person taking our order and getting the pies uses a cake slice server to scoop the pie up from the cabinet, but they use their fingers to stabilize the pie when they pick it up. Why bother using the server to pick the pie up, you may as well just use your hands. Food hygiene not best here as the person also handles money which is not clean. - I hope Muzza team reads this and either gets a bigger slice server or trains there cashier staff to not touch the pies directly, they also touched the custard tart and apple pie with their fingers.

We were looking for the best pies in Auckland and then looked at Mark Weins YouTube video. Pies don’t come any better than this! Good selection of pies, great taste and friendly service. Enjoy ☺️

Finallly tried Muzzas !! Was well worth the wait.. new go to. Will eventually tick off all the flavours. As I missed a steak roll from the market we opted for the steak & super cheese & it didn't disappoint (naturally they were out of steak & cheese, 1/2 an hour wait) But our pies were piping hot 🥵🔥 even though we had got there after 1.30pm, not too cheesy which was great and the gravy & pastry were just as you'd expect from a regular kiwi steak n cheese pie, stringy beef a hit with me and all ! Look forward to the next endeavor

My local pie shop. I've been having pies from here for over 10 years. Great pies and a good selection. But steak pie fans be warned their steak is not chunky pieces. They are more shredded, like how steak pieces would get if slow cooked over a period of time.

So a friend of mine took me here because he raves about there pies. Great fit out, everything well presented, loads of options sweet, fresh & pies. I grabbed my normal go to, steak and cheese. This pie did not disappoint. Tender steak and plenty of it. Gravy mix was just the right consistency and the cheese was really tasty. The pastry was so good, solid but soft. Can tell a good use of butter. This gets a solid 9/10 for me. Also grabbed a Chilli and Prawn pie. The chilli hit was amazing, the white sauce mix was good and the prawns really gave it that solid feel. Pastry again was so good and it kept its shape. I will be back 100% but I suggest an early visit as this place was packing out and the line was long. Great sign of a popular bakery.

There was a line at 1.30pm on a Sunday. A lot of the food had gone but there was still a good choice of pies and goodies left. We got a key lime tart; beef cheek, cheddar and jalapeño pie; slow cooked lamb shanks, caramelized onion and red wine pie. The pies had lots of meat and you could see the cheddar in the beef pie. Very tasty. Lots of people serving so the long moved very quickly. Definitely will be back, maybe earlier in the day to see what else is available.

i found this gem while driving by, it had a queue of 10+ people, i instantly lined up… they have received pie awards, and the sweet section is enormous… really exotic as compared to regular nz bakery… so much of high quality stuff i tried a savoury and birria pie… seriously its good…next time i wanna try chilli garlic prawn pie something i never thought of chilli garlic in a pie…omg…

Sandwiches: Very good with crunchy bread, quality meat, and tasty sauce, though the flavor balance could be improved. Pickles were a nice touch. Service & Space: Friendly staff. No seating available takeaway only. Pricing: Reasonable.

Okay, I had to see what all the fuss was about as every time I drive past this place, it's packed with a queue spilling out to the footpath. I'm glad I pulled in during a quiet moment just before lunchtime. Got the Philly Cheese Steak pie (mouth watering with a surprise slashing of bread 'n butter pickles & dollops of cream cheese with chunky flavourful beef strips & gravy), chicken avo roll for hubby, pie, sausage roll & Lamington for the kids! Ill definitely behaving a bite of that! Beautiful presentation, skilled baking, friendly staff & yummy food! We will definitely be back!👌

I was very surprised to find this fantastic place. Google found me a nearby coffee which came with the wonderful array of bakery goods you see in the other photos. People were lined up outside ,waiting to get inside and be served. I managed to park right outside and was quickly being served and faced an unbelievable choice of beautifully presented food. I choose 2 pies because I couldn't decide. The chefs special beef brisket with cheese & bacon bits plus a lambs shank pie with caramelised onions. A treat was the fresh tiramisu and cream. Well worth trying everything on offer. Coffee was perfect and brought to me while I waited a few moments. I will go again ..

We have been loyal customers of Gateau House on Harris Road for many years, but over the past year, the quality of their cakes has completely changed and not for the better. The cakes are falling apart when we cut them, the icing melts even after being stored in the fridge, and worst of all, the base is as hard as a rock. This is beyond disappointing! We used to love their cakes, but now it feels like a waste of money. What happened to the quality we once trusted

I absolutely love The Gateau House! I had some of their cakes and macarons, and everything was amazing — rich, flavorful, and not too sweet. I even brought a box of macarons all the way to the Philippines as a welcome gift for my family, and they loved them too! The quality is consistently top-notch, and the presentation is beautiful. Definitely one of my favorite spots for sweet treats. Highly recommended!

Few cakes from them in the past and first and last time I will get the Kumara cake. Where's the Kumara? I have diligently sectioned every layer and there's little bit of filling, not proportional for the amount of sponge and doesn't taste Kumara at all ! Lady who served me was nice, however I went back to ask for pick up date and she was in the back. At that time one Asian lady and one Asian man were behind the counter (possibly owner or managers), however I was there for more than 5 minutes I tried hard to get attention and make eye contact and they saw me they looked at me and they ignored me completely! I was shocked and couldn't believe their behaviour. Absolutely inappropriate and even if they were owners they literally have no customer service and shouldn't have a business which if in retail you should attend customers no matter who you are. I felt sorry for the staff. Another guy from the staff was outside the counter and checking on tables, he saw me clearly that I was looking to talk to someone and he ignored me completely! What a dark place with a dark atmosphere! I will never ever again spend a dime on their Business. Beside they are very expensive, they used to make good tasty cakes, not anymore with barely little filling and just sponge. The rest of the family was surprised and said: is this Kumara cake I can't taste anything at all just a little bit of cream.

Wild Wheat in Mount Eden might be one of the best bakeries I’ve ever visited. The sausage roll was the best I’ve ever had, the sandwiches were spectacular, and everything on offer was simply outstanding. The service was warm and genuine, matching the quality of the food. No hyperbole: this place is incredible.

My first visit here and definitely not my last! The staff were so friendly and welcoming when I needed help with recommendations. When the slicing machine accidentally cut a few pieces off my sourdough, they generously offered me a free loaf which was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. The sourdough itself is honestly the best I’ve ever tasted. I’ll absolutely be coming back and have already recommended this place to family and friends, it’s well worth it!

The ‘Monthly Special’ black lentil sourdough is really nice. I also like that the air bubbles in the Wild Wheat bread are small, making it easier to use.

Love Wild Wheat - their breads are always so fresh, almond croissant top notch and coffee always hits the spot. I always come back to get sourdough, foccacia and so many more. Favourite place - that even if we moved further away, this is still our go to place.

We purchased some bread to cater for an office morning tea. Judy was awesome! She helped with the selection of bread, and was really lovely to deal with. I highly recommend Wild Wheat as they have amazing bread, coupled with excellent service.

Onehunga is quickly becoming 'more than your average food' suburb. Stroll along Onehunga mall and you'll see lots of great options to choose from. The pho was bold and beef was generously given. The noodles had a bite and not mushy. The banh mi was served in a crispy french style bread. Pork was tasty and slightly smokey.

The barista rolled his eyes at me. I had no idea how I annoyed him when I hadn’t even spoken to him. So what if the coffee tastes good? I won’t patronize this place again. But the waitresses were all very nice.

I dropped into Mr. T's for coffee recently. Lots of customers were there at 9.30 am on a Saturday which gave me the impression they were regular visitors. The trim flat white was good. Definitely going back. I didn't have food. Will rate next time.

Ordered Bahn mi $17 + med flat white $5.50. The bun was warm & crispy & it was tasty but not mind blowing like I thought it might do for that price. If you don't like chilli make sure to tell them as I wasn't asked & chilli was included which I can handle btw. Atmosphere was beautiful for 9.30 Sat morning & not too busy. Only waited 10 mins for food & service was great. Had coffee in about 3 mins & it was great. The bahn mi is pricey and I won't return in a hurry to pay that price for one but you pay more for good quality which they definitely deliver on.

The Pho soup tasted very meaty, long hour slow cooked stock. Bánh Mì Thịt Nướng was full of flavor, well balanced between different vegetable and grilled pork. The place is very close to Dressmart. When you are here for shopping, don't miss this one.

Pies here are typically really good - well filled with excellent pastry. So was disappointed with today's choice of pork belly with apple. It was full of the fat of the pork belly with only one tiny piece of meat. I picked all the fat out and ate the rest of the pie but obviously left hungry and disatisfied. Won't choose that pie again and wouldn't recommend it.

I’m usually not a pie person, but this one really surprised me, it was so good! The crust was perfectly crisp and the filling generous. I actually came here because a friend recommended it, and judging by how many people were lining up, it’s clearly a popular spot. And honestly, everything we ordered turned out really delicious. Definitely worth a visit!

I bought two Steak and Cheese pies hoping for a tasty meal, but I was really disappointed. The pies were extremely salty—so much so that I couldn’t taste anything else. The flavor of the beef and cheese was completely overpowered by the salt. I tried to finish one just because I had paid for it, but I had to throw the second one away. Honestly, it felt like a waste of money, especially considering the high price. I’m not sure if it was a one-time mistake or if the recipe is just off, but based on this experience, I definitely won’t be buying again. I hope the shop takes this feedback seriously and reconsiders the seasoning.

Very busy Bakery when I came here, and I can see why. Accolades all over the wall, very similar to dairy flat Bakery and euro passterie torbay. However, the variety of pies here are very different. Normally, I'm a mince and cheese guy, but today, I wanted to try something different. - Braised pork belly and spiced apple pie 5/10 Absolutely unique combination, sliced apple, mustard seeds? Ok. Pork was nice, and It had a but of spice, but I did ask for something different. Not for me, but I'm sure someone loves this. - Salted caramel chocolate cake 9.7/10 This was banging. Moist cake and the salted caramel sauce is really amazing. Small slice for the price, but this was brilliant if you're a fan salted caramel fan. The owner (I think) must be a stand-up comedian at the weekend. What a crack up human being, actually a funny guy.

Tried the steak n cheese and beef cheek, mushroom and cheese. Both were superb with generous chunks of tender and juicy meat encased it amazing pastry. Highly recommended!

We went late afternoon so there was not much choices left. We went with three savoury pastries which all were great! Limited seats and only displayed items available. No hot food menu.

Delicious looking pastries and they were decent ! Lost one star because they have no labels for any of the pastries when I was there. Luckily I know the ingredients and can guess what they are, but still I would love to know if that cinnamon bun like bread is ginger or Biscoff or what ? Maybe they forgot that morning or the pastries changes everyday so they don’t bother, but still highly recommend some sort of labels. It wastes your employee time to list them all out to customers , not efficient in that sense.

Good filled donut. Cream was light and not too sweet and good raspberry filling. On the high end price wise at $8. The mushroom quiche had yummy pastry but contents were so-so and unevenly warmed. Was $14. Flat white was below average but passable. Fluffies have no marshmallows. The cakes looked amazing. Will return to try more cakes.

An attractive bakery cafe at Ponsonby road that you won’t miss if you are walking by. The portion is almost double the normal size. All the cake, bread are freshly made.

This place is far away from any tourist spots. Their target audience is entirely locals. The food is just great and gets served beautifully! The place is full during weekends, so it is better to book a table in advance as there is probably no better place for branch in whole Auckland.

From the donuts to the slices, the savoury pie warmer too! There's plenty of variety, if you want savoury or sweet, they've got all your options covered. If you're as indecisive as me however, you'll be umming your way through your order. But it's worth it! If you're looking for a sweet/savoury treat, pick me up and a caffeine hit. Wen & Yen is your go to! Personal recommendation: Try the chai or the matcha with coconut milk.

Coeliac friendly food. Sweet treats and pies are great. Change up the flavors regularly so good variety. Great treat after a game of footy! Range of normal baked foods as well. Coffee is some of the best I've had!

First time here to try it out and was not disappointed. Steak and Cheese pie was amazing. Tender, juicy steak pieces and the cheese added that extra flavour to it. The Cookies and Cream, Caramel Slice and Caramilk Tart were delicious. Not too sweet, not too bland. The fact that it’s also Gluten Free is an added bonus for those with intolerances or Coeliac. Favourite was definitely the Caramel Slice. Reminds me of a giant Toffee Pop. Glad to have made the trip from Hamilton and will do so again. (Sorry, no photos of the pie as I had already eaten it beforehand.) Edit: Just realised that the photos didn’t load at the time so have now added the slices and the crumble.

If you find yourself searching for a shop helping with food for those with dietary restrictions and you need gluten free donuts 🍩 or a pie 🥧 and more, then you’ll find this little shop to be quite a place for it. Excellent food and very good coffee ☕️ with parking right in front makes it a really good and easy meeting spot.

Found this gem today and got three of their gluten free goodies. They were supreme. Such excitement (as a coeliac on strict gluten free diet) to explore the sheer variety and then actually eating the excellent TREATS. If you’re reading this, do yourself a favour and try them.

I absolutely had to stop in because I was craving the Salmon & Herb Hush Cake. This café sits along the road with a lineup of deli-style meals and a menu you’d expect from a full-on restaurant. I used to walk past it all the time, but the other day when I ordered a flat white, I spotted the Salmon & Herb Hush Cake in the cabinet and couldn’t stop thinking about it. I promised myself I’d make time to come back...and I’m so glad I did. There’s only outdoor seating available, but it’s not bad at all. What really stood out to me was how friendly and genuine the staff were; just top-notch service that really leaves a good impression. I dropped in during the morning, and it honestly set a great tone for the rest of my day. It might not look like much from the outside, but once you’re in, you’ll be surprised by how extensive the menu is. And the Salmon & Herb Hush Cake? It’s basically a full-blown Eggs Benedict—and a generous one at that! You won’t find anything like it for just $15 anywhere else. Highly recommended!

The salad bowls here are quite good. We also bought 2 frozen packs of chicken broth. They get a little busy during lunch hours. Coffee was good too. They make whole cakes which you can order off the website. The only place in Auckland we found that does hummingbird cake.

We’ve had an amazing catering experience with Ripe Deli. They were accommodating to our needs and preferences. The website showed a lot of food options and good photos for reference. It is on the pricier side, but you can’t beat good quality and presentation.

Discovered the Ripe Grey Lynn “Mothership” about a year ago now and I am continually impressed by their delicious and nutritious food. The selection and seasonality of their salads is second to none! The customer service is excellent, with staff always happy to point me in the right direction in terms of food choice and other recommendations. Seeds and sauerkraut are a must!!!

Ripe Deli cheese scones are the bestttttt Fight me on this 🙆🏻‍♀️. Went twice last week and they'd sold out... Back up option the first time was a savoury brioche they are also DELISH. The second time was a date and citrus scone... Should have got the cinnamon brioche 🙈 I like date scones but too many dates for me... I'm also in LOVE with their salted caramel brownie and basically all their sweet food 😂

Lived just over the road from this place for about 6 months now. Staff are really friendly and genuinely the best coffee I’ve had in the city.

TLDR: Good vegan bakery if you're not used to having options, but they could improve their consistency and availability. Service: service was adequate at this location. The staff did not seem very knowledgeable about the product, but they were courteous. Atmosphere: it's takeaway in a nice mall food court setting, so can't judge it harshly. Food: it's always great to have vegan baked goods both salty and sweet. Many flavors were unique and tasty. However, I would encourage the chefs to sit ans try to eat a whole one of any item and not just taste. The richness and sweetness of many of the items about halfway through made us want to give up. The savory pocket was a nice break in between, but think the sweetness can be toned down a touch.

Been here about 5 times and it’s always a great experience from the service to food. Especially love the salad bowls, really good value for $10. If you haven’t already, you absolutely need to try any of their crispy mock chicken, delicious. Also like how they stock the karma drinks range, continuing to keep things ethical ☺️

Tart bakery is a vegan’s dream come true! We got the pizza, pain au chocolat, chocolate topped doughnut, and oat flat whites. Everything was incredibly delicious! This is the best vegan bakery I’ve ever been to.
