New Zealand restaurant
Restaurant
Ahi is a high-end dining establishment located in a CBD shopping mall, offering an unexpectedly upscale experience. The menu, curated by renowned chef Ben Bayly, proudly features top-quality regional ingredients such as wagyu from Canterbury and crayfish from Southland. Dishes are creatively paired with sides like coal-baked beetroot and pickled pikopiko. The restaurant's lovely, light-filled space provides views of Auckland Harbour.
Absolutely loved this place. I first came into this because I watched through Mark Wiens Video and as I tasted their chefs kiwi menu, it is absolutely wonderful. I absolutely loved all of their and I consider them to be the best fine dining restaurant in New Zealand and I can see why they have three chef hats. I absolutely loved their hash brown one along with other amazing meals like the lamb and also their desert is really amazing. I consider this restaurant experience to be my most favourite and best restaurant experience I ever have. I would highly recommend anyone to give this a try and can experience a really good kiwi experience. 10/10 for me and I can give it more than 10 score if I want to exaggerate more as they definitely blew my mind off with their amazing food and service and storytelling.

Went to Auckland for a food tour base from cuisine magazine hatted restaurant. Had a lunch tasting menu, a New Zealand story. Snack were great and flavorful. Starter was presented well. Mains, i don't really like lamb in particular But the bbq lamb was my favorite. There is no lamb aftertaste at all. Pre dessert was a bit bitter but presented nicely. The main dessert was average. I was opting for more desserts but since tasting menus are stretch out didn't have that much time.

Our experience at Ahi was incredible from start to finish. We were seated in the far corner overlooking the harbor and square with our backs turned to the main restaurant, which made us feel like we were at a private exclusive table. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. We chose the Chef menu, "A New Zealand Food Story," where we were taken on a culinary journey of the island. Each bite was spectacularly balanced, full of flavor, elegantly plated, and absolutely enjoyable. Highly recommend this special restaurant.

Outstanding! I had the express lunch which is one snack, one starter, one main and one treat for $90pp. The meal was outstanding….delicious! The Kawakawa sourdough bread, delicious! The Wild Goat Tart with sweet & sour mustard, with hot sauce, delicious! The Warehenga which was shaved Kingfish, burnt cucumber, avocado sorbet and ponzu, delicious! The Tia which was wild-shot red deer, courgette flower, smoked beetroot tamarillo & black pudding jam with pickled raddish, delicious! The treat was a Rosé ice block, delicious. Overall……delicious and throughly enjoyed lunch! A must try!

I came to Ahi after seeing it being featured on many foodie pages as one of the top restaurants in Auckland. I could clearly see where the hype was coming from. What i liked about Ahi, - Beautiful spacious interiors overlooking the beautiful harbour which makes it an ideal place to be in & enjoy a drink during sunset. - Loved the open kitchen concept where you get to enjoy the art making of the talented chiefs there with the chargrill ovens n that magnificient smell. - I was greeted by a beautiful lady that escorted me to the table n that was the best service i got but following that the young gentleman that was taking care of my table was nothing less than an extremly rude young gentleman that hasnt learned any manners. It seems he wasnt so happy with me not ordering a main dish, i simple got 1 started & 1 small plate. I asked to try a wine but wasnt a fan of it so decided not to go for a glass. He then comes back to my table & throws the menu on my table then comes back in few minutes asking in a very arrogant way "do you want to eat something else"! I just hated how i was treated, it made me feel so bad & was a horrible way for me to end my day! Its so sad when such a beautiful place would hire such amateur employees, it seems made me feel i dont want to come back to this spot! I tried the Oysters which weren't my fav, i believe they were Waikato oysters. Tried the Octopus which was lovely but the plate was so small versus the price point. In general Ahi is a beautiful spot to enjoy a couple of drinks n nibbles with friends n enjoy lovely music but paying high price point.

Ahi was absolutely amazing! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive & they even surprised me with a special “Happy Birthday” plate after overhearing it mentioned. We had the NZ Food Story set menu, which didn’t disappoint. Every dish was crafted to perfection and came with its own story, making the experience even more special. Here are just a few of the incredible dishes we enjoyed… 🎉

I’d visited Ahi on my last day in New Zealand. I have to say that I’d been largely disappointed with the food I’d tasted in Christchurch, Wellington (barring one), and finally, Auckland. It was a very good final day, having visited Depot (opposite Sky Tower). Ahi was recommended by a staff in Hotel Britomart. My requirements were easy enough: I want a place that can showcase the freshness of NZ produce. I was lucky to get a seat as I was alone. Service was generally good though not consistent (some were much better than others). I appreciated the menu which showed the distance between the source of the dish to the restaurant. Every dish was presented by the servers, and the each dish was beautifully presented by the chefs. My favorite was the dessert, with the smoked ice cream with charred berries, and dark chocolate. It was a most complete taste! My least favorite was the abalone on hash brown, because the taste of the hash brown overwhelmed the abalone and in an unpleasant way. Feedback was given to the server who cleared my plate. As it turned out, my very fussy friends had also visited earlier this year as they were staying at the Intercontinental Hotel and had loved Ahi too. Please keep up the great work, I’ll be back again next visit

Experience: Extravagant platting. They do tell some story with their dishes. (A bit fast, guess cause it's busy). 👩‍💼🧑‍💼The staff do feel like have this aura (whenever I talk to them) that makes you feel like not belong there. 🍖 Had: Warehenga (Kingfish), Tuna Huhunu (Eel), Atihoka (Artichoke Eggplant), Riwai (potato/chips), Tia (Deer). Food are all delicious and unique. The only place that do deer. My only complaint is, if you only give 2 slices of deer meat, don't put it under "main". 💰 Prepare to pay at least $120pp if you don't want to come out still hungry (you won't get full unless you also order potato). #SmallPortions

Bakery
Amano is a trendy Italian restaurant and bakery located in the vibrant Britomart area of downtown Auckland. The restaurant offers a hip, bohemian atmosphere with its wood-and-brick interior. Guests can enjoy locally sourced Italian cuisine prepared from scratch in the open kitchen, featuring fresh produce and expertly made pasta. The adjoining bakery provides an array of pastries, piadinas, and pizza slices to go, along with house sourdough loaves.
Busy place and very popular. Really nice decor. I had no booking but got a table without any wait. It's a great spot. Excellent service! The breakfast menu is interesting, with different options to the usual. Coffee is good. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Auckland.

Definitely a five-star restaurant you should book in advance. We went for lunch at 12 on Saturday and it was almost fully booked. Both the kawahai seafood and the spaghetti pasta were excellent, we finished every bite! For drinks, I highly recommend trying their signature options, whether cold or hot. I’ll definitely be coming back for any occasion.
ALEX — Google review
Nice and cozy restaurant/cafe/bakery spot. Tried out their pasta for lunch. A friend recommended their Scampi pasta and did not regret. We also got their Pappardelle, Lamb Ragu. Decent serving portion. We also checked out their bakery section afterwards and got a Creme Brûlée donut as a sweet treat. The donut was packed with creamy custard inside along with the burnt sugar on the outside which balanced out the sweetness. Definitely recommend if you’re visiting Auckland and looking for a chill place for lunch or dinner.

Been hearing about this place for sometime. So we booked lunch today for a very special occasion. The food indeed was delicious. I got to taste a bit of everyone's order lol. Venue isn't bad at all. Was really busy I can see. A bit crowded for the size and they can spruce the place up a bit in my opinion. After all everyone's paying sort of top dollar. Service was overall good and attentive ... could use a bit more smiles guys. I found corkage fee for bringing your own small birthday day cake a bit over the top especially when we aren't asking for extra plates or cutlery. Going back? For the food...definitely yes. otherwise hmmm...

Wow a real authentic Italian restaurant serving a fantastic menu. The sauces were heavenly and could even meet Michelin standards. The service is perfect and friendly as well as helpful. Atmosphere is like being in Italy 🇮🇹 but we are in 🇳🇿 . Abit pricey but worth every single penny 👌 👌👌👍👍👍

This restaurant more than lives up to all the great reviews. The setting, location, interior, and vibe are perfectly in tune with each other. The food is incredibly flavorful and beautifully presented. We had breakfast here, and you could truly say it’s a breakfast for champions! If you’re staying in Auckland, this place is an absolute must-visit.

OMG!!! This is one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve ever visited in my life!!! Such a beautiful spacious spot with really tall windows that lits the place with natural sunlight but yet dim to give it this beautiful aesthetic n relaxed feel. They have an open concept kitchen where you could see all those professionals preparing the food 🤩 Menu is limited but from simple classic plates they create an elevated dish! You MUST VISIT when you’re in Auckland!
Meril A — Google review
Excellent food and perfect ambiance. I had the best breakfast Mushroom, sourdough poached egg, Parmesan cheese. Very creamy and delicious. The coffee was fantastic. The only thing that concerned me a bit was they gave me a bar seat and I was sitting in front of the timber column and I saw 3 insects crawling to my plate and I guess it must be from the timber column. I did mention it to the server who said they usually do pest control. I hope they take it seriously. One of the highlights was their bakery next to the restaurant with fantastic croissants and bakery items.

Alma is a vibrant all-day eatery located at the corner of Britomarts Gore and Tyler Streets. Inspired by the food and culture of Andalusia, this restaurant offers a menu that changes with the seasons, featuring a variety of flamed-kissed small plates made with fresh produce from different localities. The venue boasts an impressive fit-out and a burgeoning wine list, as well as reliable cocktails including non-alcoholic options.
God this could be one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life!! From the moment I walked in I was greeted by a beautiful lady that escorted me to my spot & was then served by an old fine gentlemen who took the time to describe everything in the menu & explain it all so well! I tried as per many recommendations the Anchovies & oh boy did they not disappoint!! I also had the blue white fish which was so rich n meaty. The oysters were OUTSTANDING, honestly the best quality I’ve had in such a long time!! I definitely recommend this place!
Meril A — Google review
We seen great reviews of Alma and had to try it ourselves. We (3 colleagues) booked a Sunday late dinner. The restaurant was quite. We were quickly served drinks. The setting is beautiful and very relaxing. The dishes we picked were varied. We loved some but thought as a whole there were some taste balancing issues with few of the dishes. Clearly there is attention to ingredients and techniques but not all dishes blew our minds as we hoped for. Still it was a great dinner with great service.
Sam A — Google review
Set in a beautifully preserved 1930s heritage building, Alma offers a stunning and welcoming space with terracotta plates, copper details, and thoughtful natural lighting. The lamb, slow-cooked over firewood, delivered both the boldness of open flame and the tenderness of gentle heat. It paired exceptionally well with a sauce full of herbs and coriander—surprisingly perfect together. The oysters, already delicious on their own, came with a sauce so well-balanced that it elevated them to what felt like their “final form.” From appetizers to mains, every dish made me think, “Did they really plan it to be this good?”—with such a high level of precision and harmony. The entire space—its scent, sound, lighting, and even the texture of the tableware—comes together to create a deeply satisfying dining experience. During my stay in Auckland, I didn’t find a restaurant that surpassed this one. I absolutely fell for it. Highly recommended for a special meal in the city.
Hiroko A — Google review
Went on a whim for lunch and wasn’t disappointed. We sat at the bar with the chefs, who were happy to explain things. Great service, super tasty food (the anchovy is unlike what we usually get here in NZ), and a reasonable Champagne price (for a restaurant). Menu is seasonal but see pics for the food we enjoyed—lighting wasn’t the best where we were, but you get the idea. We’ll be back!
Ben — Google review
Located on the waterfront of Aucklands Britomart area and in the heart of downtown among many excellent hotels and dining options lies the Spanish themed Alma restaurant. In general the food is very tasty and follows the sharing concept. The design is very nice and cozy with first rate staff. Sit outside and watch the evening descend on Aucklands harbour front or sit inside and take in the busy scenery! We enjoyed the wines by the glass selection that had a good balance and verity matching to the delicious food. Enjoy the evening
J N — Google review
A good location with beautiful views and nice decoration. Staff is very friendly. The fish I ordered was delicious and good size. The staff recommended a local Gin, which was quite nice.

Hands down the best food I’ve had in Auckland! So creative and everything was delicious. Loved the octopus, beef tongue with olives, seviche, and pork pinchitos. 100% a must-visit when you’re in NZ!
Arella H — Google review
Anchovy is interesting but not wow. Pork Pinchitos is yum. Lamb tahina is delicious. Lamb was a bit smelly but thanks to the beetroot, it hides the smell, left with the good parts.

Seafood restaurant
Kingi is a sustainable seafood restaurant located in Britomart, New Zealand. The eatery offers a three-course menu featuring a sharing antipasti platter and main course options such as wood-roasted eggplant, seafood pappardelle, or pan-roasted snapper. The dessert menu includes perfected profiteroles with rum and raisin ice cream and chocolate. The restaurant celebrates the diversity and quality of New Zealand's oceans by sourcing sustainable and seasonal seafood from local fishermen and suppliers.
Our first visit was all it took to determine that this is Auckland’s best restaurant. The food was exceptional - especially the crayfish taco which was a work of art! My Wapiti was amazing and the desserts finished the night perfectly. The room couldn’t have been cosier on a wet, cold winter’s night. But it was the service team that made the experience genuinely memorable. I’d mentioned when booking that we were celebrating my wife winning a new job. They greeted her with a genuine congratulations. Throughout the course of the night, they were attentive and delightfully friendly. We can’t wait to return.

Fancy & delicious experience. We enjoyed every bit - the Chardonnay was lovely, entrees, mains and dessert were great. Overall quite an expensive night for us ($330NZ) but you get what you pay for in terms of quality, food and service. We really did enjoy every bit. The wine options are definitely tailored to the wine lovers with high priced bottles ($80+) but the Chardonnay we got was really lovely so it’s worth it for the rare occasion. The service was lovely (a lady maybe named Jean?) did a great job at explaining the menu to us and providing recommendations which served us well. Highly recommend.
Caitlin N — Google review
We visited Kingi on 7th Sept for their Taste of Kingi four-course menu ($115 per person), and it was easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Auckland. Every dish told a story of New Zealand’s coast fresh, thoughtful, and beautifully balanced. The Te Matuku Bay oyster with kiwifruit granita was the perfect start bright and refreshing. The gamefish crudo with mandarin, makrut lime, and chilli was light yet full of flavour, and the wild Wapiti nigiri with horseradish ponzu was unforgettable. The kūmara sourdough and green-lipped mussels in nduja beurre blanc brought warmth and richness, followed by shared mains of yellow-belly flounder with brown butter, capers, and almonds, and snapper in tomato crayfish bisque with fregola and fennel both cooked perfectly. Even the shoestring fries with wakame salt were addictive. A special mention to our waitress Anna Rose, who was absolutely amazing warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food.
Abhishek S — Google review
Stunning! This restaurant is one of the best in Auckland I think. We had the set menu for lunch and every dish was better than the last. Standouts were the muscles, bread and fish. Wonderful service and ambience too. I recommend Kingi to all my friends and family whenever they ask me where to dine in Auckland
Aaron H — Google review
The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. On my birthday, they even prepared a handwritten card for me, which made the celebration truly special. The whole dining experience was delightful and memorable. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It is very rare that I leave a review for anything but I felt this was important to do for Kingi. I dined with my husband, our two small children and my parents last Sunday, it was to celebrate my mother’s 65th birthday and the first meal we have had out since having our baby 8 months ago. From the moment we walked in, everything about our experience at Kingi was exceptional. The front of house host was so warm, welcoming and accommodating, going above and beyond for us. We were given different options of seating to best suit our family, a colouring in book, detailed and delicious children’s food options, a high chair for the baby and the care he showed to our children was a very heartfelt service making us feel that they were so welcomed be dinning too. The waitress that serviced our table was the perfect pair of professional and friendly, never overbearing yet perfectly timing her table service. The food was excellent, we expected that and it did not disappoint at any stage. We have recommended Kingi to friends and family for a week since and will continue too. It was an unforgettable dining experience and we will definitely be back! Thank you dearly
Hannah S — Google review
I had a family member visiting from Singapore who was wanting to have a seafood meal, so of course one of the first places that came to mind was Kingi! I wasn’t aware of the shift in menu before getting there - slightly less seafood orientated now, compared to what it used to be (had been here two times prior to this when almost the entire menu was seafood). Seafood was all very fresh, however, we felt like the flavours/ingredients in the kingfish and crayfish taco dishes overpowered a little, so the seafood was not the star of the show and their taste somewhat muted. The mussels in the tagliolini were unfortunately chewy…and again the bisque was too overpowering and could barely taste the crab. Founder was delicious and was the only dish out of the ones we ordered where you could taste the seafood well - I must say that I enjoyed the flounder more on previous occasions though. Bit of a shame that there was nothing that stood out and wowed us. I think the restaurant should bring back the old menu. All the food pictured plus two coffees came to a total of $176.

The food, the staff, the place- PERFECT!!! As a seafood lover, I have always loved coming here because the food is always sooo good! They have put so much thought on the flavor combinations and the way their food is presented. Everything is made/cooked fresh- from seafood to pasta. 💖 Also giving a special shoutout to Jan, the duty manager for the last time I ate here. She's just the loveliest and was very helpful with what to order. Kingi is lucky to have her in their team. 100% coming back here because the staff are so nice and the food is sooo yum! PS: get their mango matcha drink! Great for the coming spring and summer heat!

Indian restaurant
Cassia is a trendy subterranean restaurant in Auckland, known for its creative Indian cuisine made from locally-sourced ingredients. The executive chef, Sid Sahrawat, and head chef, Alok Vasanth, are passionate about showcasing regional cuisine and ancient cooking techniques. Despite its unassuming exterior on Fort Lane, the underground dining room exudes magic with its vibrant ambiance. The engaging waitstaff efficiently guide diners through the menu and wine list.
Had a fantastic dining experience at cassia! The ambience was excellent perfect for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. Manager Manu was professional and ensured everything ran smoothly. The hospitality was warm and attentive from start to finish. Chef Micah truly impressed us with his skills the food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food and a welcoming atmosphere!

Well, what a fantastic food gem! There was nothing I don't like about the place. Considering I walk past it for several years and it never occurred to me to try it out. The dishes present well and taste beautifully, almost devine. I particularly enoyed the curry fish and the chocolate desert. There are a lot of thoughts in presentation and quality. The deco looks good, suitable for individuals, couples and groups. It ain't cheap But well worth every dollar. The business card is amazing too. If I have to comment on the negative: it was not apparent to me that it's Indian. I love Indian food and Thai food. What a pleasure to dine here for a rainy winter day. I basically did not order, just told them my budget and let them surprise me. My dinner turns out just perfect.
Monica C — Google review
This was my second visit to the restaurant. On my first visit, I chose à la carte mains and found the portions smaller than expected, until I reminded myself it’s a fine dining establishment, where the focus is on quality and nuanced flavors rather than quantity. This time, I opted for the four-course meal, and the experience felt unexpectedly heavy. The starter, entrée, and dessert were among the best I’ve had in Auckland, beautifully presented and full of flavor. However, the mains were disappointing. The mushrooms and onion sauce tasted undercooked, and the tomato-based paneer and chickpea gravy had an overpowering raw tomato flavor that made it difficult to continue eating. Additionally, the portion sizes across the four courses were far more generous than anticipated. On a date night, I wasn’t prepared for such a substantial meal, and by the time dessert arrived, I was too bloated to truly enjoy it despite how lovely it looked. I may return in the future, but I’ll steer clear of the four-course option. A lighter, more curated selection would suit me better next time.

We had the journey through India menu and the food was amazing. Each course had a unique modern twist on an Indian dish, and none of them missed. They also changed some of the menu items to take my parents dietary restrictions into account, with no hesitation. Our favorites were the beef and ghost chilli croquettes, and the sesame chicken. Some delicious cocktails to accompany the meal too, like the brown butter old fashioned. Service was excellent too. The wait staff were attentive without being overbearing. Food came out fairly quickly too. This is the best Indian restaurant in Auckland. Looking forward to coming back!

What an amazing experience. WOW. I couldn’t recommend Cassia enough. From the moment we sat down, our waiter was attentive, friendly, and kind, setting the tone for the night. We ordered the Chef’s Special Banquet, which was such a fantastic choice—it meant we got a curated selection of the chef’s favourite dishes. Every course felt like a journey, and each bite was an explosion of flavour. The spices were layered beautifully, nothing felt overpowering, and everything balanced so well. The presentation of the dishes matched the quality of the flavours—vibrant, fragrant, and inviting. It was the kind of food that makes you pause after each bite just to savour it. By the end of the banquet, we were beyond satisfied but still wishing we could keep eating. Cassia is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience. Definitely one of the best modern Indian dining spots I’ve been to, and one I can’t wait to return to.

I had my pleasure to have dinner at Cassia. We tried the Feast Menu. The foods were delicious! Great cocktails! Lovely services. The Daal could be improved because there was an overwhelming taste of Maggie Spice. The Fish Taco was the star for me. And of course Beef and Lamb!

When we first arrived, the bartender welcomed us and offered us a drinks menu. He was really nice and friendly. We asked if there was a table for two and he advised to wait at the bar whilst a waiter attends to us. We had a drink and went to the bathroom which was outside the restaurant and in the hotel next door. We spent almost 30 minutes until we asked if we can be seated to eat. He advised to go to the counter and ask. So we did and got a table straight away. We found it odd that we were placed at the bar to order drinks for a while. We sat at the table and was offered more drinks, I had to ask for the food menu as we were hungry. We were given the menu to figure out ourselves. We struggled for a good 10 minutes till the waiter approached us and I asked to explain the menu. We went for the $120 per person option which came with a starter, enteee, main and dessert. We waited 15 minutes for the food which wasn’t that bad. It started off good with the starter and entree (first 7 photos), however, the two mains (duck and lamb curry, next 5 photos) were very spicy and salty with no authentic Indian spices and herbs. Followed by the not so pleasant dessert as the barfi (orange squares in the next 2 photos) stuck to our upper mouth and was just disgusting. The chocolate dessert was also unpleasant as something tasted burnt in it. The good thing about it was that we could takeaway the leftovers for our dogs to enjoy the next day. We were disappointed as usually at an Indian restaurant we leave satisfied but we left this place grossed out and hungry for actual food food. Will not return and will not recommend, but good to experience a hit and miss at a renowned restaurant.

Would give this restaurant 4.5 stars out of 5. Was very impressed with the presentation and taste of the food. The service was great but for two hiccups: first, the Skycity online reservation system made it unnecessarily stressful. Second, the waiter accidentally served me the meat dish when I was vegetarian. But otherwise great food, great service, and good atmosphere.

Mr. Morris is a new restaurant in Britomart, led by renowned chef Michael Meredith and Head Chef Fabio Bernardini. The establishment focuses on showcasing less frequented ingredients while drawing upon Meredith's Samoan heritage and Bernardini's South American influence. The intimate restaurant offers multi-course tasting menus featuring dishes like Cloudy Bay clams with dashi and duck with pumpkin, grapefruit, and begonia, accompanied by a well-curated selection of wines from New Zealand and around the world.
Had a fantastic dinner here. A friend and I opted for the ‘Mr Morris Experience’ from the menu and loved it. Every single course (8 in total) had great flavours and textures. Would highly recommend this experience. The only slight thing to improve on would be the lighting, it was very bright in there. But on the whole, fantastic evening, keep up the great work team.

An absolutely heart-warming, do-not-miss dinner in Auckland. Don't get a table - sit at the chefs counter. The food is incredible, the core ingredients and flavor each dish is amazing but the garnish and finish seasonings are really what bring out tremendous depth and range. At the counter, it practically has the feel of being a guest in someone's home. Cozy tables and corners everywhere, but the counter is really what brings the experience home. We felt welcomed and left with hearts and bellies full.

Hands down one of the best restaurants in Auckland rn. Staff were so warm and welcoming and the food was next level! The sommelier and waitress were extremely helpful in choosing our food etc and the pacing of the meal was perfect (no awkward super long waits) we will definitely be back! Ps. Get the chicken skin parfait, squid starter & duck for the main YUMMMM

Had a lovely dining experience at Mr Morris. The staff were friendly and atmosphere was welcoming. The wine selection was excellent, our choice was full of flavour. The food was creative and thoughtfully presented, with generous portions for the mains. However, while two of the dishes looked stunning, their taste didn’t quite live up to the presentation. Overall, still an enjoyable meal and a place worth visiting for its service, wine, and inventive menu.

We had a wonderful birthday dinner at Mr. Morris and absolutely loved the experience! The food was beautifully presented and full of flavour. I especially enjoyed the sauces, which were incredibly tasty and elevated each dish. The cocktails and wines were also fantastic, creative, balanced, and just the right touch for a special celebration. The service was warm and attentive without being overbearing. Overall, such a memorable evening. Highly recommend for a refined yet relaxed dining experience!

God tier food. We got the Mr. Morris experience menu and I’ve never seen more creative, fascinating and fun food done with so much consistency. Absolutely mindblowing experience. Been a huge fan of Georgia Van Prehn’s cooking ever since I visited Alta and I was more than happy to see they put the carrot tartare with cashew cream on the menu as a snack! don’t even know if it’s typically part of the tasting menu or not as my partner asked for it specifically because she knew how much I loved that dish. Fish with feijoa, the squid “noodles,” the insane steak - so worth your money and such nice people! Thanks so much for the amazing drinks pairings too, still thinking about that yuzu sake :)

We had the pleasure of visiting last week and sampling the chef's menu. We thought the service was excellent and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The food was also very enjoyable. While we thoroughly enjoyed the experience, we felt that some snacks could have been a little less oily and some entrees could have had a touch more of uniqueness to enhance the overall culinary experience. But as I said these are small things at a high level. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, and we would highly recommend it to anyone. One of our group had a pescatarian option, and the staff were very accommodating in this regard. Two of us chose a drink pairing, which added a pleasant touch to the evening. The drinks were presented beautifully, and we enjoyed learning about each one. It might be beneficial to consider having the bartender pour drinks directly into the glasses at the table, which could enhance the experience. Overall, we had a pleasant dining experience, enhanced by the exceptional service

The ambiance is perfect for a relaxed date night, with attentive staff and an ever-changing menu featuring seasonal dishes. We had a brilliant dining experience in Bar Celeste. They made us feel super welcoming. Cuisines were done perfectly. We enjoyed it very much.

Twice now I’ve been to Pizzaria Céleste and had incredible experiences. The food is so divine, delicious pizza dough cooked to perfection with fresh and high quality toppings. The thing I am most impressed by is the service!!!! Impeccable. I believe our server both times was Summer (? very sorry if I have gotten that wrong) who went the extra mile. I often note on reservations that our dietary requirements are halal but have never had any restaurant acknowledge this. Tonight the wonderful staff had taken the time to mark on our own copy of the menu which items were suitable for halal diet. I’m blown away and grateful for this attentive service which was the theme for the night. Would 10/10 recommend Bar Céleste! Beautiful space also.

It's a shame the pizzas are being taken off the menu they are delicious! Loved the vibe in here but the waitstaff weren't very attentive and toward the end of our booking opened the front door wide open so it became quite cold in the restaurant quite fast. Also the cocktails were too small I would say 100-150ml. Overall a good night!

Amazing staff and nice atmosphere. Our first two starters were out of this world amazing, sourdoughs and buratta. I wish it Never ended, I will definitely order these two again! Then ordered the flounder which was cooked to perfection, so buttery and tender. The gnocchi was also very good!

Right, Celeste is doing pizza now, no gimmick, just really good pizza. It’s not some sloppy Neapolitan “authentic” stuff. It’s great and tasty. Can’t wait to go back.

Really disappointed by our recent trip to Bar Céleste. We were really looking forward to it but the food was extremely sub par, especially for the money. The staff were lovely but incredibly inattentive. We had the oysters to start which were great, but then our mains came out separately despite indicating we wanted to share the mains at the same time. The fish crudo was tasteless and cut really thick, the burrata is served in an agrodolce which is odd, and had no accompanying bread. We had to order and pay for focaccia to eat with the burrata. The servers never refilled our waters without us asking- which we had to ask every few minutes given they don’t leave the bottles at your table. The chef indicated the food was ready a number of times before the staff would pick it up and deliver it to the tables. The restaurant itself has a gorgeous feel and atmosphere. It’s a shame the food and the staff’s handle of the restaurant isn’t stronger.

Giapo, located on Queen Street, is not your average ice cream parlour. It offers a modern twist on traditional and adventurous flavors of handmade ice cream, gelato, and sorbet. The brainchild of Head Chef Gianpaolo Grazioli, Giapo has evolved from a colorful dessert store into an ultra-luxurious eatery that serves premium and creative fusions of innovative flavors and toppings.
Best ice cream in New Zealand. Get the chocolate coated cone if you are a chocolate lover and you will be blown away. I had the white chocolate with hazelnuts and it really was a decadent experience. Large bench outside for you to enjoy your dessert

Was initially shocked at the prices of their specialty cones but now that I’ve tasted the quality I think it would be worth the splurge if you were sharing. The service was amazing. The lady was very patient with me when I tried a few flavours. I treated myself to a large cup with 3 flavours as they were just soooo good!! The kumera (and orange?) one was the highlight. I recon it might just be the best ice cream I’ve ever had (I’ve had a lot haha) Will definitely be back!!! See picture; Top left- kumera and orange i believe Top right- their homemade version of kinder Bueno Bottom middle- mascarpone and Nutella Also it’s ALL GLUTEN FREE This doesn’t apply to me but I thought that was really cool. Definitely doesn’t affect quality/flavour

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Lots of flavours to choose from and you get to taste them before you commit. The gelato was tasty but on the sweeter side. The cone was unique, very crispy and had a nice warm, nutty, malty flavour. Very nice space to sit and chill with yummy desserts.

Tried first time at the Diwali Event on Queen’s street. Highly recommended 😋😋 Rasmalai and Mascarpone ice cream = pure bliss! 🤩🥰 Already craving more! 😋 5 stars!

Delicious ice cream, served in cups or fanciful cones, along with a few bakery items, in a dedicated gluten-free facility, so perfect for people who have Celiac. The seating is tight, and pigeons hunt for scraps, but there are water spray bottles to ward off the pigeons if necessary (not an issue while we were there). A regular sized cup with two flavors was NZD $9.50 when we visited on a weekend in October 2025. The Waitemata (aka Britomart) Station is a couple of blocks away, so if you drive you might want to park in their car park, since there isn't much parking on the busy city street where the ice cream shop is located.

Giapo is an experience! They have wide variety of ice cream flavors. Its my first time in Auckland of course I had to get the World Famous Hokey Pokey. Guess what? It did not disappoint! Its world famous for a reason! If you’re unsure what to get, they’ll let you try any flavor, just ask! There were types of cones you can choose from which they make for you upon ordering. You just have to wait for at least 5 minutes (depends on the line of course). I got my hokey pokey ice cream partnered with a warm brookie ❤️ it was so good! Its something I’ll miss! Looking forward now to my next visit to Auckland!

Depot is a vibrant and trendy dining spot known for its creative dishes, oyster bar, and impressive wine selection. The restaurant, led by renowned chef Al Brown, has received accolades such as Restaurant of the Year 2012 and Restaurant Personality of the Year 2013. Emphasizing seasonal ingredients and charcoal or hardwood cooking methods, Depot offers delectable options like wood-roasted fergus bone marrow and exquisite oysters and clams.
Here’s the improved version with correct punctuation and grammar: We love Depot! The place was amazing and full of good vibes. The food was delicious. We ordered a lot but finished everything! This is our second time visiting, and we always make sure to include Depot in our itinerary whenever we’re in Auckland. We also love how friendly the crew was. We also ordered dessert but were not able to take a photo of it anymore.

I would highly recommend everyone to try Depot! The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is incredibly friendly and comfortable, and the service from the staff is absolutely amazing! A special shout out to the lovely Alex! She is the sweetest, most wonderful, and most energetic person I’ve ever met. We were truly drawn to her warmth and enthusiasm. She took great care of us (and every other customer!) throughout our visit, and when she found out that today was my partner’s and my 9th anniversary, she surprised us with a complimentary dessert as a gift. We felt so grateful and genuinely happy. On top of that, the food and drinks we ordered were absolutely delicious! We will definitely be coming back again. You guys made our anniversary so special! You absolutely made my day! Thank you so much!

Would rate 5 if not for the experience we had from the host today. Spent $150+ for two people dinner around 7pm Nov 2. Everything was amazing - from food, chef and waiters except for the host today. We were seated in frontbar and politely request the host today guy with curly hair with glasses and piercing if we can move as it is too cold in the front bar and he was like I will put you in the waiting list and need to wait 20 mins, and he even said he cant do anything about the aircondition. like are you serious we are already seated. And we are freezing infront bar. Plus we can see vacant tables, would understand if it’s busy and no avail seats. We are regular - eat at least once a week , refer u guys to friends and fam but toay is total disappointment coz of him. He even said after we pay after and after giving feedback, like come next time and il give u better seats. Like girl… where’s your customer service and have u not know how to look after regulars… as soon I see next time he is the host il immediately walk away. I hope manager or owner can read this and provide feedback to him.

I highly recommend this restaurant for a delightful dining experience. The lamb was exceptionally tender and flavorful, and the sauce complemented it perfectly. The snapper sliders were delightful, featuring fresh fish that was truly enjoyable. Unfortunately, they were out of oysters that night, which was a disappointment. However, the potato skins are a must-try; they come topped with cheese and are wonderfully crispy and aromatic. On the other hand, the steak was a bit average. It required more chewing and lacked the juiciness I expected. The mulled wine was sweet and provided a warm, comforting feeling. The complimentary hummus served with pita bread was delicious and a nice touch to the meal. Overall, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit!

The meal we had in Depot was superb. High quality food, with a no-fuss but creative play in textures and flavour. Not only was the food good, but the service was excellent. The lovely redhead at the bar (unfortunately didn’t get her name) made our night! She was really fun and friendly!!

We stumbled up on Depot randomly and absolutely loved dining there. The food was fantastic (oysters, fresh clams, skirt steak, potato skins). However the standout was the service we received from all the staff who seemed to genuinely enjoy working there. The nicest touch for me was that as we were dining as a pair, the team was very ready to adjust portions to allow us to try more items - I can't remember the last time a resto said they'd be happy to just make 1 less slider or a half portion of sides but that was the best part because we got to try all the good stuff. The meal was phenomenal - and the desserts (cookie skillet + cereal milk panna cotta) are a must try! Shout out to Hazel and team for the awesome dining experience and this will now be a place we'll either come back to or recommend to friends visiting Auckland.

Heard good stuff from a food guide about Depot and I must admit that I haven’t had many good experiences with restaurants so far in New Zealand, mostly because of terrible service. I was looking for a showcase of fresh NZ produce, and I’d wanted variety (since I was alone). Alex (yes, server extraordinaire) recommended a list of things to try that would fit my brief, and it did not disappoint. The in season asparagus was so good with a lovely light taste. The snapper fish slider was lovely fresh as well (never take freshness for granted, many places use frozen stuff). The oyster had an interesting tangy dressing (unfortunately, I didn’t ask what it was) but honestly, it was good on its own. Since I had space in my tummy (and time before the All Blacks Experience), I spoke to another server (blond lady with a ponytail, sadly, I didn’t get her name) and while she recommended the marrow, I was worried about the richness and my heart health, so I opted for the suggested double cooked octopus with potatoes in capsicum sauce. So crispy! Many thanks to one and all in Depot for a great experience!

Baduzzi is a trendy Italian restaurant located in Wynyard Quarter, Auckland. The vibrant and retro-chic atmosphere makes it a favorite among locals. It's the little sister restaurant to the renowned fine-dining spot, The Grove. While they don't take reservations, the cozy indoor-outdoor eatery offers a gluten-free menu and is known for its modern takes on Italian cuisine.
What a treat! Baduzzi is a must-visit in Auckland. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the classic Italian atmosphere and the truly exceptional service. The staff, many of whom were Italian, were friendly, quick, and incredibly knowledgeable about every dish. For our table of nine, we went with a selection of shared plates, and there was more than enough food to go around. Every dish was fantastic—we especially loved the cheese board and desserts. We had a tough decision between here and a Brazilian BBQ, but Baduzzi absolutely did not disappoint. I can't wait to go back!

Upscale Italian restaurant located in the trendy waterfront of Auckland. The meals were tasty and well presented. I had the vegetarian pasta with pumpkin filling. It was delicious but was a bit light for size (see pics). I needed to order another bowl of bread in addition to my pumpkin pasta dish. My partner had the eggplant side dish and meatballs and was very satisfied. The “deconstructed” tiramisu was lovely, but untraditional.

We had an outstanding dinner at Baduzzi, made truly unforgettable by Stella. From the moment we arrived, she went above and beyond in every possible way. Attentive without being intrusive, warm, professional, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had a great time. Two of us work in hospitality and we have pretty high expectations, but Stella exceeded every one of them. Her knowledge, timing, and energy were spot on, and she managed to strike that perfect balance between efficiency and personality that’s so rare to find. While the food was exceptional (as always at Baduzzi), Stella was without a doubt the highlight of our evening. She is the epitome of what great service should be, and an absolute credit to the restaurant.

This is my third dining experience at this establishment and it gets better every time. I had the lamb meatballs which were 10 out of 10 accompanied with the focaccia. For main, I had the tortellini which could Quite possibly be the best meal I’ve ever had. The meal was absolutely superb. If only we weren’t so full, we could have had some desert which I’m sure would have been just as great. Our server whom I did not get their name was attentive and friendly. The food was brought out incredibly quickly. I cannot rate this establishment enough.

Vietnamese restaurant
Cafe Hanoi, located in Britomart, is a renowned Vietnamese eatery that has been serving modern Hanoian-style dishes for over a decade. The restaurant recently relocated to a stylish two-level space near The Hotel Britomart, offering both formal and casual dining experiences. With concrete walls and paper lanterns adorning the interior, Cafe Hanoi provides an elevated yet street-inspired atmosphere.
Second visit. So so good. Staff attentive but not overbearing. They all knew the menu very well. Atmosphere fantastic, in the Britomart building. Food - everything we are was truly amazing and flavourful. Prawns in green rice, pork skewers, whole fried snapper; everything was devoured. The pork went so quick I couldn't get a photo. Oh, and the nearest thing to Vietnamese coffee I have had outside Hanoi. A truly memorable meal. Thank you.

Vietnamese fusion restaurant. The window seats with a view of Galway Street create a nice atmosphere, with paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling. The service was friendly and professional. I would recommend the kingfish crudo and tiger prawn entrée. However, I found the main dish a bit disappointing. The pork belly reminded me of Hong shao rou from Chinese restaurants, but it didn’t have much depth of flavour and was quite sweet. The soft shell crab salad was also served in a sweet sauce, which might not be appealing to those who aren’t fans of soggy fried food. On a positive note, the use of lemongrass was a nice touch compared to other Vietnamese fusions that rely heavily on coriander.

We had dinner with my wife's family In cafe Hanoi a few weeks back and it was amazing. The food was delicious, the staff was really engaging and the dining setup was impressive. The food standout for the Taste, presentation and Verity of different dishes. I would love to come back again next time while we are staying in Auckland.

Hanoi Cafe in the city is an excellent choice for your next date night. It’s a little more upscale than many other Vietnamese restaurants in the area, which makes the experience feel a bit more special. I was impressed with how well the venue uses its space, featuring two main dining areas and a seated bar. We had an 8:30 pm booking on a Saturday night for two, and we were promptly seated. Our server was friendly and walked us through both the food and drink menus. While it was different from what I typically expect at a Vietnamese restaurant, I was genuinely excited to try a variety of the dishes. We each ordered a cocktail. I had the Landing Dragon, which was zesty yet light. The blend of fine filtered vodka, elderflower, green tea, and vegan foam made it refreshing and unique. The other cocktail we tried was also tangy and very fresh (I can’t remember the name!). For starters, we shared the Phở Gà and the crispy rice flour and coconut milk pancake with lettuce wraps, soft herbs, and nuoc cham (with roast duck, shiitake, basil, and red chili). Though listed as starters or sharing plates, the portions were very generous and could easily be meals on their own. The Phở Gà had a warm, soothing broth with a deep chicken flavour. The pancake was a highlight. The rice flour shell was crispy, the duck was tender, and the mixture of herbs and lettuce wraps made for a fun and fresh way to eat. The nuoc cham dipping sauce added a perfect sweet, tangy balance. For mains, we had the pork belly. I was expecting it to be crispy, but the soft, slow-cooked style was still very tasty. A bit more sauce would have been nice, but it was easy enough to scoop some from the bowl. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience at Hanoi Cafe. It’s a bit busier and pricier than other Vietnamese spots, but it’s a fun and flavourful option, especially if you’re looking to elevate your usual Vietnamese dining experience.

Another great restaurant. If you love Vietnamese food or would like to try Vietnamese food then this is the place to go. Food was delicious. We had the set menu and were seated upstairs in a private room as it was a company function. The service was great. Nothing was a hassle and the atmosphere was good too. We had a few people with dietary requirements and that was no problems for them. The cost is above average. Highly recommend. Pic is of the delicious dessert.

Come for take away, but let me tell you this place is luxury and crowded so prepare your clothes and make reservation! Prawn fillets with young rice battered is the star (I was surprised with the sauce - a bit thai sour and spicy flavour which brought a nice balance to the deep fried dish). Fresh paper rolls were okay. Good tight rolls with a hint of pine apple - very south Vietnam flavour. Good choice. Banh Hoi, on the other hand, was not as expected. Beef skews were bit too chewy, and not much bánh hỏi. Good side it had good fish sauce and good amount of veggies. 3 dishes for $76 - can't complain when you choose fine dining in auckland cbd, so prepare your wallet. Staffs are super nice. Crowded but they all move smoothly and fast.

Unfortunately, our experience at this establishment was far from pleasant. From the moment we entered, we felt unwelcome — a feeling that only intensified as the visit progressed. The staff showed little effort to accommodate individual needs, which is particularly disappointing when one is not feeling well and relies on a certain level of consideration. The menu was surprisingly limited, with barely three main options available, and no flexibility or alternative suggestions were offered when we inquired. The atmosphere was also uncomfortable — despite the chilly weather outside, the air conditioning was blowing directly at us, making it difficult to enjoy the meal. Perhaps we did not fit the image of the “ideal guest” in terms of appearance, but clothing should never determine the level of respect or quality of service one receives. It certainly says nothing about a person’s financial situation or expectations when it comes to professional hospitality. An establishment that wishes to position itself above the average should do more than rely on aesthetics — genuine warmth, respect, and attentiveness to guests are what truly set a place apart. Overall, a disappointing experience we are not eager to repeat.

Had our first dinner here while visiting Auckland for the first time and it did not disappoint. It’s a lovely atmosphere, very inviting and warm. It’s lively but still quiet enough for you to easily have a conversation with your table mates. The staff was very friendly, attentive and helpful. Be sure to ask them for recommendations. Plates are meant to be shared. The prawns are a must for a starter. They are a wonderful blend of taste and texture. Another stand out was the fish of the day - cooked to perfection and had dill on it! Everything we had was wonderful. It was a memorable meal. I would definitely return.

Japanese restaurant
MASU by Nic Watt is a trendy Japanese eatery located in Auckland's Federal Street dining precinct. The restaurant offers a minimalist yet warm ambiance and serves locally sourced sushi, BBQ dishes, and vegetarian options. It is renowned for its modern Japanese robata cuisine, which is prepared using fireside cooking techniques. The bar at MASU features Japanese cocktails, shochu infusions, and seasonal cleansers designed to complement the flavors of the dishes.
Some context first, when you spend an entire week in Japan (Osaka specifically) just for the food, it's no secret that you're already a fan of the cuisine. And without knowing it you then develop your own scale of "love", "like", and "won't be ordering that again". But imagine my surprise when I found out that my commitment to Japanese food was merely superficial given that MASU had been open since 2013!!! WTH? Cut to the chase - "Love". We were a party of six and the ambience was relaxed and conducive to my "cookie monster" approach to eating food. Important point here is that this approach often means I'm taking photos after I've already started gobbling it up - sorry in advance. But the food was outstanding. The chef put on a selection of different items for us to try that was over and above the initial order - no complaints from this Samoan. Check out the photos but more importantly, if you're in Auckland and staying in the precinct and on the hunt for a nice setting with some GREAT Japanese food - allow me to recommend MASU. Take some good company, and let them take care of the rest. Enjoy.

I love the atmosphere!! Salmon sashimi is fresh & tuna don is yummy. Although katzu don is a bit salty. For the service, you can do better because most of the staff are already doing great only some are not. I expect 100% good service for this price.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday here last night with friends. The food was okay not something that made you go “wow,” but the cocktails were definitely a highlight! The staff were friendly and very accommodating, though it would’ve been even nicer to see more smiles from them. A lovely touch was the complimentary sorbet ice cream served with “Happy Birthday” on the plate—great for any special occasion

Great service, decent atmosphere, good food. Service was really quick. Food was fresh and great quality, but very small portion size for the price. Drinks were great. The ambience was a bit too loud for us, mostly poor acoustics of the venue, could’ve been better with some background music. The kitchen is open, so you get to see them meticulously prepare your food if you sit at the bar counter. They gave us complimentary dessert for our anniversary which was a nice touch.

Good, not great. Overall it seemed they valued speed over quality of execution. As one other reviewer mentioned, there is a total disregard for knife cuts lol. That said, the ingredients they use are quality. Tips: tell them specifically the timing of how you want every item to come out (I had 5 things delivered all at once); if you order anything soft shell crab, ask for a side of extra yuzu kosho mayo; skip the steak; enjoy the fresh fish!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding dining experience at MASU by Nic Watt! My partner and I recently visited MASU and went for the Shomi menu; absolutely spectacular! Every dish was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. The portion sizes were perfect, and the timing between courses was just right, allowing us to really enjoy each plate. The atmosphere was lively yet refined, and it was genuinely entertaining to watch the chefs in their element. You can tell they take pride in their craft. A special mention to the chef with the snake tattoo; his positive energy stood out! He was working across multiple sections, clearly putting in the effort, yet still took the time to acknowledge guests with a smile and even explain some of the dishes while working. That kind of passion and professionalism really adds to the dining experience. Service was equally excellent, our waiter was attentive and made sure we were well looked after throughout the night. Overall, MASU delivered on every level: food, atmosphere, and hospitality. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Auckland.

MASU is easily my favourite restaurant in Auckland. I have never been disappointed by the food as it’s always the same amazing, consistent quality. Service is 10/10. Try the East End Sling cocktail and highly recommend the $99 set menu.

Brought my parents here for their 45th anniversary, was totally worth it. Got to try their Kagoshima A5 wagyu to see if it lived up to the hype. Was amazing. Never tasted beef like that before, melted in my mouth like butter, didn't need any garnish or condiments, just grilled and seared to perfection. The set menu was good too but the Wagyu was definitely the highlight. The different wine pairings worked really well too

Lebanese restaurant
Restaurant
Gemmayze Street is a family-owned Lebanese restaurant located in St Kevin's Arcade on Karangahape Road, also known as K Road. The venue, named after the main dining street in Beirut, offers a modern and minimalist setting with Middle Eastern influences evident in its decor. The chef, Samir Allen, draws inspiration from his Lebanese heritage and uses New Zealand's seasonal produce to deliver authentic flavors.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Now I understand why Gemmayze Street was voted No.1 — this place is outstanding! The chicken shish is hands down the best I’ve ever had: juicy, full of flavour, and perfectly cooked. The saffron rice with raisin, walnut, and a touch of sour creamy sauce is absolutely delicious — a perfect balance of sweet, nutty, and creamy. The hummus is also a standout. It has a flavour that reminds me of Sichuan chili, but without the heat — super unique and addictive. The lamb was decent, pretty standard compared to everything else. I also tried their new dessert — it was okay, just not quite my taste. Overall, a fantastic experience and a must-try if you’re in the area!

Recommended!!! A lovely Lebanese restaurant run by a family with a long history from Lebanon. Although I’ve tried many Middle Eastern and Mediterranean restaurants, this one still impresses me and brings pleasant surprises! Great food, friendly and super nice staff. P1. Hummus 5/5 Creamy and savory hummus served with crispy herb bread. The spiced oil tastes like a mild chili oil — aromatic and flavorful without being spicy. Together with the crunchy peas, it’s simply delicious. P2&3. Jazar – Roasted Carrots 2/5 The roasted carrots are soft and juicy, paired with sweet and sour pickled carrot shreds, crumbled nuts, and a special white sauce on top. It’s tasty, though not my favorite dish. P4&5. Pan-Fried Fish with Spinach and Brown Creamy Sauce 3/5 The fish skin is perfectly crispy, while the meat inside is tender and delicate. The brown creamy sauce has a slightly sour and savory flavor that complements the fish beautifully. P6&7. Kenef – Dessert 5/5 The orange blossom syrup is wonderfully unique, carrying the fragrance of refreshing orange peel and blooming flowers. It’s transparent and the consistency is clear and light. The kataifi pastry is crispy and with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, it’s an absolute delight.

A bit disappointing for what was the best restaurant in Auckland in 2024 (the viva awards) and to be fair reviewed with that in mind. Service was pretty patchy, front of house was good but we had 4 different servers, two of which just plonked plates down and ran away without any communication. Was kind of odd. The food was ok. But some of it was luke warm, the carrots (for example) were overcooked and I’m not 100% sure that the fish was “of the day” - I do eat a lot of fresh of fish :) Atmosphere was (and no fault of restaurant) a bit noisy and echoey so for a quiet meal you may want to be inside … the view from St Kevin’s arcade tho is pretty awesome. M’s Lebanese style coffee was a good end to the meal. The shredded pasty dessert and the lamb were the highlights. $380 for four. A bottle of wine, 2 beers and 2 extra glasses of wine. So good value.

Fan of the place just due to the Babagnoush. Perfect Chicken. Amazing flavours in everything. Great service and ambience. Couldn't get the view of sky tower, maybe next time as we did not book ahead. Wasn't sure of the $120 hold on the CC for booking but I underanat the need for it. Parking was a bit challenging as it always is in the city. Try Cross Street, Wilson. $15 Casual/Night.

Had one of the most unforgettable meals at Gemmayze Street. The kibbeh nayyeh with venison was insanely delicious. The falafel was also amazing — crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside. And the bread with baba ghanoush and hummus was unreal — smoky, creamy, nutty, and just perfectly balanced with paprika oil and crispy chickpeas. The lamb skewers and chicken thigh were both packed with flavor, and the red cabbage dish was surprisingly amazing — sweet, nutty, and so well-cooked I still think about it. The tabbouleh and Ossem potato dish were also super tasty. And the desserts? Bombe completely blew my mind — torched meringue with sorbets underneath, just perfection. The Knefe with orange blossom was the cherry on top — fragrant and comforting. Every dish felt thoughtful and full of flavor. Such a special night — delicious food and great memories with friends. Will definitely be back!🖤

Gemmayze Street offers one of the most imaginative and delicious menus I've had the pleasure to encounter. Chef Samir Allen amplifies the possibilities of Lebanese culinary traditions and showcases Polynesian and New Zealand ingredients, such as kūmara, in imaginative ways. This multifaceted approach is echoed in the ambiance of voluptuous jewel-tone blown-glass lights that reimagine mosaic lamps along with warm wooden tables, and sleek Sky Tower views. Menu highlights include the Foule (green asparagus, fried onion, coriander) and Shish barak (potato and chard dumplings, yoghurt, cheese, chilli). A feast for all of the senses. Highly recommended.

Make sure you starve yourself for the day prior to eating here because you’ll want to sample as much as you can on the menu! Super unique eating experience, flavourful and fresh. Can’t wait to be back in town to do it all over again soon.

Apero Food and Wine is a cozy restaurant that offers elevated New Zealand cuisine and a wide selection of wines in a relaxed, brick-walled setting. The establishment has grown busier over the years but still maintains its homely and intimate atmosphere with attentive and charming staff. The menu features an evolving list of adventurous wines paired with delicious French fare, including goat cheese croquettes and a crowd-pleasing rib eye.
Loved the signature sausage. Snapper was very nice as well. Pasta’s portion was a bit small to share.

We had a dinner last night, we were there for truffle dishes, so we had 3 truffle toasts and the truffle fettuccine, toast are great but the fettuccine was so salty! The waiter asked us for feedback which I told him it’s too salty, he just told us “ yeah, because it’s truffle” well, we love Apero a lot, basically will come every year! We also had other truffle dishes somewhere else, never had one like that ever! We might ordered less dishes than we should for 3 person, but we still spent $167 last night, and that service like that was not good enough to be honest.I still love Apero and the boss is nice, but with this kind of experience, I’ll double think before I go next time.

This was a great experience. My first time dining here and I cant wait to visit again on my next trip to Auckland. The wine selection is great and if you let the team choose a wine for you, you might get something that isn't on the wine list. This is my kind of place! The food was excellent too. No complaints from me. I will definitely be back.

Apéro is now our must do place every time we’re in Auckland. Every dish I have tried there has been outstanding. For me, this is about as perfect as restaurants get. The menu is produce driven and the food expertly cooked. The wine list thoughtful with a great mix of local Kiwi gems and interesting international wines. And the staff are warm and hospitable and ready to share their expert knowledge. If I lived in Auckland I’d be there every week!

Would have given them 6 stars if I could. Don’t tell Mo but he’s alright and the Chef is outstanding! We have a couple of favourites but almost always dine from the seasonal specials. As a result, no mater how often we go, we always have an exciting and new dining experience.

Probably the best food on K-Road. Grate decore. Superb flavours. Very friendly and down-to-earth service, but definitely not cheap... HAHA The only thing I can't understand , and this is a problem with many establishments in NZ - THERE IS No AC - Air conditioning. It is very hard to enjoy such amazing dishes, and they are, when you're too hot. Something to take under consideration before you book on a hot day...

Great place to eat. There are many restaurants to choose from, each with its unique style. Worth a visit. I can suggest the El Sizzling Chorizo for a legit Argentinian bbq, Grown-up Donuts for a good bite, Miann for coffee and fancy deserts and Ponsonby Crepes for authentic French crepe. Tip: if you are going for a takeaway, the garage via Brown Street is 30 minutes free. You can always try to find a spot.

My friends and I went to My Fried Chicken in Ponsonby Central, then had dessert at Miann. It was overall very fun with yummy food. The prices were on the higher end, and the table was a bit cramped with limited seating for each food stall? Restaurant? It seems to be a very fancy food court. I thoroughly enjoyed the food there, and I would love to try everything else in there. Parking was a bit tight as usual in Ponsonby, even on a Monday night there were heaps of cars around. I opted to park a bit further away and walked up to our destination. I would go back again, but definitely not during the weekend as I believe it would be jam packed with people which I personally would like to avoid.

I read in the Urban list that this place is one of the top ten best fried chicken in town. So I have to check it out and true to the ads. It is really crunchy and juicy in the inside. Perfect KFC- Korean Fried Chicken. We tried three flavours: spicy & sweet, sweet soy & og chicken (original). You might like too to try their version of garlic bread, I quite enjoyed it its not buttery but more on garlic cream. Located inside the Ponsonby Central. Pici is a charming restaurant where the menu changes seasonally, offering flavorful dishes and a chance to watch pasta being made in front of you. The cheesy cacio e pepe is a must-try for comfort food lovers. The service is efficient, with helpful staff guiding food and wine choices. While the outdoor seating may come with some street noise, the delicious food and quick service make up for it.
We came here as a family with three kids and while there was no high chair fir our toddler, the staff made great effort to accommodate us. The food and drinks were really good. Our favourite was the octopus, which was tender and delicious. The pasta were delicious too but some of them were a bit gluggy. But our finished on a really high note with the amazing cheesecake. Overall, it was a great experience for the whole family.

My fourth visit here, this time with family to try the spring menu. We had the pear and honey special with focaccia, lamb shoulder pappardelle and the cacio e pepe. Everything was so yum, but the pappardelle was the standout for me. The staff were, as always, warm and helpful with great recommendations from the specials and wine menu. Always a great experience, and I’m looking forward to seeing what’s on the next seasonal menu!

Had a great evening at Pici last Saturday the food, service, and atmosphere were all truly impressive. The fettuccine anchovy was a standout: rich, bold, and perfectly balanced. A dish that truly lingers in the memory. I also loved the selection of organic wines, with excellent pairing suggestions from the team. Sitting at the bar gave us a front-row seat to the kitchen in action — efficient, passionate, and inspiring. Overall, a delightful experience. I’d definitely return great vibes, delicious food, and a team that clearly cares.

Nestled in the stunning St Kevins Arcade building. Beautiful venue and stunning wines as well. The porchetta was amazing first time i have tried this and i now need to go make it at home. Cacio e pepe has been on my wish list for years stoked to have finally tried it.

I have to be honest my expectations are way to high for this place. Ive been wanting to try Pici for the longest time, tonight we picked this place to celebrate my brother’s birthday. The fettuccine with anchovy is way too salty for our liking I know anchovies are already salty but it’s excessive. The cacio e pepe was okay meh, not something that I would remember and rave about.

Head Chef Naga Sunkara and the team regularly update the offerings to reflect the commitment of various suppliers and local producers in narrating New Zealand's wild landscape through its produce.
Food was amazing, the views out over the water and harbour bridge were top notch and the service was great. Will absolutely be coming back. I’m happy that I come for breakfast before heading home. Recommend to come with few friends as they have interesting menu so you can share to try more from the menu. I’m happy with my Turkish egg. I love eggs and yogurt but never think that Turkish eggs, whipped garlic yogurt, chilli butter is a good combination but it works. It serve with a slice of sourdough. Recommend to share by two, I finish it by myself tho. My boyfriend ordered Smoked Salmon, soft boiled egg with yuzu hummus. The salmon taste so good and the whole plate is nicely presented. Last but not least the cheese scones is their signature too. Very crispy outside and butterfly soft inside. Delicious, I asked for strawberry jam too. There are smoothies and fancy drinks menu that I can’t try it all. But I’ll definitely come again next time to try more from the breakfast menu, brunch and dinner.

Whether it is sitting outside, watching the sailboats in the blue sky and white clouds, or the spacious interior decorated with Cozy, it is visually quite comfortable. There was a girl who served very well and was very considerate. My wife likes their coffee very much, it tastes great. I love honey ginger tea, this is the real honey ginger tea. The fish of the day was Blue Cod and the fish was handled very well. The combination of greens and a prawn wonton was interesting, and there were a few slices of porcini in the soup (probably). Food handling is mixed. The restaurant has cooking classes. There are also a lot of ingredients and cooking ware for sale. Parking is limited and there is a 60-minute limit at noon.

Homeland is such a lovely, calming space. It’s one of those restaurants that is quiet enough to hear your friends talk but lively enough to feel like you’re part of something exciting, with that low hum of other conversations going on around you. The ambience is perfect and the staff so friendly. I was also impressed by the wealth of delicious & unique cocktails (including a mango lassi one & a kimchi Bloody Mary!) and the wide variety of vegetarian & vegan options. Everything pictured is vegetarian & some of it vegan! And I love how many Aotearoa / NZ specific ingredients (like kawakawa) are utilized so beautifully. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone :)

Amazing coffee and cheese scone! would recommend booking in advance as on weekend they can get very busy, lucky to get a table without booking the other day. had salmon dish and creamed paua, the price is def higher for the portion you get but the quality and taste makes up for it. and the coffee is def the best in Auckland imo, I would come back even just for a cup of coffee and cheese scone. They are also pet friendly, so easy to take your dog walking around marina afterwards

Beautiful ambience, quite a relaxed yet modern atmosphere, dishes are beautifully curated, carefully outsourced by local produce providers and ethically thought through when put together as a dish. I love the idea behind how the components of each dish come together and homeland imparts a nostalgic message to remind us the journey our food takes before being served for us. The mains we picked were good, did remind me of standard cafe style brunch food done well but not wowed. The dishes were slightly on the smaller end, but still a joy to eat and it meant a clear plate. Highlight of our picks was the corn ribs-that really hit different, well seasoned, lip smackingly good, I’m grateful the staff suggested it. Oh not to mention their in house baked focaccia is really good, got me into a whole focaccia phase and I just can’t seem to replicate it, I dream of eating more focaccia.

Homeland is a restaurant, cooking school and provide that specialises in local New Zealand ingredients. They work with their suppliers to ensure quality produce and the food was amazing. Everything was delicious and we got to try some New Zealand specialties. The only downfall was that they didn't let us know that the kitchen was closing so we didn't get to try everything that we wanted! Inventive cocktails too.

South American restaurant
Milenta is a South American-inspired restaurant that celebrates the best producers and suppliers in Aotearoa. The dining experience at Milenta is described as a melody of South American food and wine, with innovative dishes like smoked mascarpone mixed with chili chocolate tart. The atmosphere exudes luxury and enchantment, with moody lowlights adding to the ambiance. The staff are attentive and nurturing, meeting every need of the guests.
The food? Next level, The wood fire BBQ brought out deep, smoky flavors that made every bite unforgettable. You can really taste the love and skill in every dish. It's bold, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The service was also top-tier, super attentive without being overbearing. The staff made us feel genuinely welcome, and everything flowed smoothly from start to finish. And the vibe? Spot on. With Latin music setting the mood, the whole place felt lively and warm, like a secret little escape in the city. Between the fire-kissed food, the great energy, and the impeccable service, Milenta is a place worth returning to again and again.

Got to experience Milenta for the very first time with their Restaurant Month 2025 menu. Got to say it was worth it a 100%. The food was awesome, service great and pretty nice ambiance. We started dinner pretty early hence got our food at a pretty decent time and pace (we did notice as the restaurant got to its peak, other tables waited a bit longer). The restaurant is actually not big and so is their open style kitchen. Their BBQ meat was definitely the highlight, the chicken was flavorful, tender and moist, pork belly had a crunch but also melted in the mouth. We got food envy as other tables had ordered steak which looked absolutely mouth watering. The dessert was a pleasant surprise as the flavor was something new to us. All in all, a great experience and definitely made us wanting to come back to try other food on their normal menu.

I’ve been here twice now and both times the food has been absolutely INCREDIBLE. The flavours are rich, smoky and full of depth! You can really taste the fire element in the cooking. I recently travelled to Texas where bbq culture is huge, and the level of food here is right up there with the best I’ve had anywhere. The atmosphere is vibrant, with great music that makes you feel immersed in South American culture. Even though I’m not from South America, I really appreciate the food, the music, and the warm hospitality that comes through. It’s honestly hard to choose a favourite dish because everything I’ve tried has been ahhhmazing but if I had to pick one, the Wagyu short rib stands out, melt-in-your-mouth and packed with flavour. Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves bold, soulful food and an all-round epic dining experience. Until next time, nos vemos

After my kids finished their after-school classes, I searched for a well-rated restaurant along the way home and found this place. At first glance, it looked more like a romantic spot for couples than a family place, but it was getting late and the kids were hungry. I asked if we could have a table as long as my children stayed quiet — and the staff kindly said yes. The food was absolutely delicious — we had grilled octopus, chicken, fish, and potatoes. Every dish was tender and full of flavour, with perfectly balanced sauces. My kids loved it too! The staff were all sweet and gentle, which made the whole evening even better. Thank you for such a lovely dinner experience!

Love coming here when in Auckland! Everything was delicious. The rib eye was perfectly cooked, the charcoal roast chicken was so moist, and the octopus was very tender. Sides of cabbage and broccolini were great as was dessert. The only thing I would say is that it's a little dark in there, but nothing your phone torch can't fix. Service was really good, the music was too loud so it was hard to hear, but the server was able to "read the room" and turn it down without having to ask. I'll be back again!

Hands down the best place for lunch or dinner—Milenta is a must-visit! Whether you're planning a romantic date night, catching up with friends, or hosting a work meeting, Milenta delivers every time. The food is simply unforgettable—each dish bursting with flavor and creativity. Their margaritas? Absolutely top-tier. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. It's the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again.

If you only visit one restaurant in Auckland make it Milenta! Great restaurant in Victoria Market serving South American style food cooked on open fire. Varied and exciting menu. Fantastic variety of tastes. Unusual flavours (to me, anyway!) that enhanced every dish. I didn't have one, but the cocktails looked stunning. Only negative, but a small one, is that they do not serve New Zealand Sparkling Wines. The staff, particularly the manager, were exceptional. Friendly and attentive but also professional and not intrusive. This all made for a great atmosphere and the best meal of our holiday!
Dennis S — Google review
Highly highly recommend! Had one of the best meals ever at Milenta. The highlights were the broccolini (insane, mix this with your short rib to elevate even more), the Wagyu beef short rib, roasted agria potatoes, charcoal chicken, coconut fish, fry bread, delicious pork belly, banana empanadas (delish) and coconut meringue dessert……all washed down with old fashions and espresso martinis. The service was attentive, the atmosphere was great and the food amazing! You need to get the short ribs and the broccolini and mix these two amazing dishes to elevate your taste buds to the stratosphere! Well done Milenta and thank you!

Restaurant
Oyster and Chop is a modern eatery located in Viaduct Harbour, offering an oyster bar, steaks, and other bistro fare. The restaurant provides a fresh and elegant atmosphere, unlike traditional steak joints. It is known for its sizzling T-bone steak made with rich flavors of grass-fed cattle and free-range ingredients. Oyster consumption has a long history dating back to Roman times and was once considered a working-class snack in the 19th century.
Absolutely fantastic fine dining experience at Oyster and Chop in Auckland. From start to finish, everything felt top-notch, and this quickly became one of my favorite spots in the city. Let’s start with the tiger prawns — without exaggeration, they were the best I’ve ever had in the world. Perfectly grilled, juicy, and full of flavor. They had just the right char on the outside while staying succulent and tender inside. If you’re a prawn lover, this dish alone is worth the visit. The oysters were another highlight — incredibly fresh, clean, and briny in the best way. You can really taste the quality and the fact that they’re sourced daily. A great variety as well, with options for every palate. The lobster bisque was rich, creamy, and bursting with depth. Every spoonful had a lovely, warming seafood intensity — clearly made with care and proper stock reduction. Service was efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. The staff knew the menu well and offered great pairing suggestions. The location is also a major win — sitting right by the harbor with beautiful views, especially at sunset. It adds a classy, relaxing vibe to the entire experience. Highly recommended. A must-visit if you’re in Auckland and want top-quality seafood in an elegant setting.

I just arrived in Auckland this Wednesday and chose this restaurant as my very first dining experience — and wow, what an unforgettable choice it was! As someone who is absolutely obsessed with oysters and cocktails, this place exceeded every expectation. The freshness, the flavour, the variety — every dish was beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. The cocktail list is creative and well-balanced, and every sip felt like perfection. But what truly elevated the night was the outstanding service from Silvana. Her warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail were simply the best I’ve experienced this year — on par with Vinesmith in Melbourne, which is saying a lot. Silvana made me feel genuinely welcomed, looked after every little detail, and her passion for hospitality truly shines through. From the food to the drinks to the ambiance and especially Silvana’s incredible service, everything was absolutely spot-on. I’ll be recommending this restaurant to everyone I know visiting Auckland — and I’ll definitely be back!

This place offers both seafoods and meat meals. Our party opted for seafoods today. Everything they served was super fresh and delicious. The place is spacious with good ambiance. You also get the beautiful view of the bay while dining. Our server was fantastic and fast and the price was just right for us. Bathroom is super clean too.

The food at Oyster & Chop was absolutely delicious. It was fresh, flavorful and beautifully presented. Every dish tasted high-quality and perfectly cooked. While the prices are on the higher side the quality of the food and the overall dining experience make it completely worth it. Excellent service and a great atmosphere too. Definitely a place to visit if you want a top-notch meal and memorable experience 😍

Took my lovely partner for her birthday and the food was super. We were taken care of when it came to ensure we ate what wouldn't trigger any allergy or discomfort. It was our first time having A5 12 Wagyu and the chef did not disappoint. Would definitely go back again for the meat! I looked at the menu 3 weeks before we were there and I was super excited to try escargot, but unfortunately it was taken off the menu. I also selected a Birthday option when I booked, but unfortunately nothing happened and made me feel like this option was misleading, but it wasn't clear what the option was there for exactly. Overall, we will be back for Wagyu.
Gem S — Google review
The restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience, and the standout dish is without a doubt the T-bone steak. Cooked to a precise medium, the steak was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, striking the perfect balance between a charred exterior and a succulent center.

The French Cafe is a renowned dining establishment that has received numerous accolades and awards, making it a must-visit for food enthusiasts. The restaurant, led by Executive Chef Simon Wright and Restaurant Manager Creghan Molloy Wright, offers contemporary New Zealand cuisine with a French twist using locally sourced seasonal ingredients. Diners can indulge in dishes like roasted quail with wild mushrooms and aged beef with smoked cheese beignets.
No words about the 6course tasting menu we have in April 2025. Every small details well thought out. This place has been on my list places to dine for about 4-5years and I’m glad I got to experience it.
Weps T — Google review
We tried the “Gaggenau Tuesday Test Kitchen,” which is held every Tuesday, and I must say it’s exceptionally good value for money! For only $80, you get 8 courses — each one beautifully presented and full of flavour. Each dish was very delicate, with a variety of ingredients, and when you eat them all together, the flavours balance perfectly and feel complete. If you’re free on a Tuesday, this is definitely a must-try!
Neko R — Google review
Still a very popular dining experience, 7pm, Thursday was pretty much full. An all male wait staff who were all very subtle in their service and the food was as close to fine dining as one can get in Auckland. Surprised at how affordable the main courses were.
Cee D — Google review
We had the eight course Gaggenau test menu. The highlight for us was the aged duck, cooked to perfection. I have never thought corn will compliment duck so we'll but it did. The fig leaf ice cream was interesting too. It opened my mind to what you can do with the leaf of a fruiting tree without actually using the fruit. The tea-like drink with a cinnamon stick in the photo is a Chai style spiced mock tail, I suggest giving it a pass and choose something else. I give atmosphere a three star because I must say after going to various different trendy restaurants around Auckland, this is is starting to show its age and feeling a bit dull. It's true that the menu and finesse of cooking skill should be the most important thing but when you are competing in a world of fine dining, ambience becomes important too.
Dennis K — Google review
We ( me and my my wife) plan for one fine-dining experience in every trip and this was our choice for our New Zealand trip in November 2024 (as they were accommodating to our dietary preferences - I’m vegetarian and my wife is vegan). The restaurant has an elegant casual vibe and looked to have limited seating for providing premium experience. The service was impeccable right from the welcome helping us with storing our coats, guiding us to our table, confirming our dietary preferences and helping us with more details on every dish. We opted for a six course tasting menu. Since it was a degustation experience, we were served dishes one after the other each with their own plates and cutlery. The first one was a palate cleanser drink that was very refreshing. The cold salad in the first course was just amazing. Each dish was presented perfectly and tasted great. The overall experience took about 3 hours and since it was our first day of the trip, we were little jet-lagged and could not completely enjoy the experience due to the fatigue. We probably would have enjoyed 4 course option for our appetite, 6 felt a bit over stuffed at the end. The food had more influence on Indian flavors (kofta, naan, gravies) compared to French than I had expected and hence reduced 1 star.
Shashank P — Google review
The French Cafe reminded me why lunch can be an art form. That chocolate cremeux with passionfruit still haunts my dreams—in the best possible way. The cured trevally with smoked eel was the kind of dish that makes you immediately trust every other decision the chef has ever made. But here's the plot twist: their non-alcoholic wine selection, whilst tiny, actually slaps now. Gone are the days of grape juice pretending to be sophisticated. These were proper adult beverages that didn't make me feel like I was missing out. It's one of those urban oasis situations where you walk in from Symonds Street and suddenly you're somewhere that feels completely removed from the city chaos. The courtyard, the attention to detail, the way they handle dietary modifications without making it feel like a burden. Not every meal needs to be an event, but when it is, this is where it should happen.

We loved everything we ordered and the service was warm and attentive We had the following dishes: Potato and truffle doughnut (truffle flavour was devine) Black pepper prawns, mushrooms, pear, nori Pork belly, grilled cabbage, fenugreek, apple, turmeric Dry aged duck, spiced leg, grilled leek, pomegranate, date Pommes Anna, koji mayo, parmesan Chocolate cremeux, mandarin, honeycomb, lychee Fig leaf ice cream, feijoa, gin, caramelised white chocolate Favourites were the donut, Pork belly and dry aged duck. Perfect balance of flavours

The Oyster Inn is a laid-back inn on Waiheke Island, offering stylish rooms and a restaurant/bar with complimentary breakfast. It's known for its trendy ambiance and stunning sea views from the veranda. The inn is also home to the Rams and Dolphins, making it a hub for sports enthusiasts. The restaurant provides a fresh and distinctive dining experience in Oneroa Village, attracting visitors seeking unique culinary experiences.
I cannot recommend this place more highly. As a local on Waiheke island we are very lucky to have many amazing restaurants/wineries to choose from. Yet it’s the ones with exceptional service, food, wine lists and views… this is what draws us back. This place really spoils guests. The staff are exceptionally trained, personable, knowledgeable and deliver the best local cuisine fresh from the island. My dream spot to bring friends at every opportunity. Thank you oyster inn for creating this amazing place to enjoy.

We loved our stay at the Oyster Inn. The rooms are very few and are right next to each other which is perfect for our family. It was easily accessible for my father who has mobility issues. The rooms are clean and modern . The restaurant is lively and the staff are super engaging and friendly and the food is delicious. I’m so glad we opted to stay right in town so that we could walk around, enjoy the beach and the cuteness of Waiheke Island!

Was here to celebrate with friends but perhaps due to large group our orders were delayed. 🥲 waited for approximately 45 mins, other tables finished but ours weren’t here yet. Overall still a good experience with the food — oysters, fish & chips, steak, all made to perfection and everyone enjoyed. Apart from the service (which I believe could be improved) the rest was amazing. Will be back again if I’m visiting waiheke! 🙏🏼

Great spot for my birthday lunch on Waiheke. Food was delicious. Best oysters we have had so far on our NZ holiday. We also had fish and the oyster brioche bun. All cooked beautifully, super tasty and fresh. Great wine and drinks menu - my Margarita was delish. Beers on tap were great too! Our waitress was super helpful and friendly. Highly recommend a visit if you’re on the island. Thanks for having us Oyster Inn ☺️

Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience! The staff were incredibly attentive and kind, the food was completely spectacular! We ordered the sharing menu of a red wine, beef pasta, tiramisu and focaccia and it was tremendous! The best pasta we’ve ever had cooked perfectly al dente in the tastiest sauce that paired beautifully with the focaccia and wine! I also got a super tasty salted caramel espresso martini that was expertly crafted served in a chilled glass. Then the tiramisu was so light and not too sweet, the perfect end to a perfect dining experience! The tables were clean, the view was perfect, the music was nice and not too loud, it was nicely busy and popular but the staff made sure our table felt special! Could not recommend this place enough!!

If you are spending a night or two in Oneroa on Waiheke Island, this is a great, central place to stay. With just three rooms, the Oyster Inn feels exclusive. The decor is uncluttered and calming. The Oyster Inn restaurant, only steps away from the rooms, serves excellent food and wine.

With a seasonally changing menu that combines culinary styles from Europe and Asia, guests can enjoy fusion cuisine at its best.
The food was sensational. I don’t think I have ever had such great lamb! The wine and cocktail menu is extensive and delicious!! The view is phenomenal. This is a place everyone needs to go once in there lifetime! The waiter was great filling up the water - always a good sign of service. However a couple of things, there was no background music which I thought was odd. The service was slightly slow - not due to the waiter being lazy, he non stopped work! There needed to be more staff.

Our server, Ken was amazing. Food was delicious and paced really well. My daughter loved her chicken mains. The lamb was wonderful. Shoutout to Adel for being super accommodating to my little daughter. He and Ken made our night so fun.

Had high hopes when coming here unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. We went for the deluxe tasting menu with matching wines. Sadly only once did the wine enhance the meal over 7 courses. The "main" was eye fillet steak which was way under seasoned. The dessert was by far the best meal we had throughout the evening. While the service was ok, on more than one occasion we received the meal before the wine which isn't ideal.
Brett C — Google review
My wife and I came here as our "splurge" dinner during our honeymoon in New Zealand and we will remember it forever. The food, the views, the service, and the atmosphere were all top notch. Although the price is... shockingly high, the tasting menu with the wine pairings was absolutely worth it. The chef himself, Peter Gordon, brought out our main course. Cocktails are also very good here.
Kevin S — Google review
Would say 3.5 stars, but I am feeling generous today. View = amazing. Obviously! Service = Really good! Food = Average.... Small portions. The entrees were probably the best meals of the night (Octopus and the Crayfish Linguine) The mains we had were the duck and the lamb and they were good, but nothing stood out about them. The desserts were pretty normal as well. I think i expected more and went home slightly hungry still. 3.5.
Brad S — Google review
Selected the tasting menu which was superb, the staff had a great knowledge of the plates they were serving, each course was a delight. Going with the tasting option gave us the opportunity to sample the dishes we wouldn't ordinarily select. Learnt some fantastic new palate and flavor mixes. The head chef visited us and personally grated the fresh Christchurch Truffle which was amazing. All in all we can't fault the experience. Pricey yes but well worth it. Sorry the food pictures don't do the meal justice.
Tony J — Google review
Phenomenal. Staff were friendly, polite and accommodating. Food was delicious to say the least and we thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu and wine pairings. Highly recommend splashing out to make the most of the menu available.

Delightful experience with a beautiful view of the Harbour Bridge. It took us around 3h to complete our meal, but time flies when you're having fun, aye? All dishes had a variety of flavours, colours, and textures. You can see effort has been made to maximize the effect on our taste buds and overall eating experience. The wine pairing was beautifully done with each wine really complimenting the flavours of the food. I think the big winner here was the Hapuka dish paired with the Huia Sauvignon Blanc - outstanding! The beef was also perfectly cooked medium rare and super tender. The prawn-based amuse bouche was extremely moorish. One of the snacks was a deep-fried lamb ball which, for someone who dislikes lamb, was quite delicious! Overall a great experience with friendly staff

The restaurant offers innovative and tasty cocktails, with a clear emphasis on attention to detail and craft. It has consistently won awards for being one of the best fine dining restaurants in New Zealand. The culinary finesse at Sidart is evident in every dish, showcasing the chef's passion and mastery.
I had an amazing experience dining at Sidart with my partner. The waiter and waitress were attentive and the food was served at a very good pace - not left too long between the courses. The food itself was absolutely delicious, one of my favourite out of all the degustation meals I’ve had. The flavour combination was unique and finely balanced, and the amount of food did not left me too hungry or too full by the end of the night. Would highly recommend this restaurant to others and will be sure to come back soon :)

Review from our visit in June 2024 Sidart’s tasting menu presented a visually stunning range of dishes, with a few standouts and a couple of misses. The mushroom and beef snacks were particular highlights, offering rich, well-balanced flavours. By contrast, the fish and chips snack leaned too salty, and the meringue felt a bit too soft. Fortunately, the mains and dessert courses were executed more consistently, leaving a positive overall impression. The owner and executive chef, Lesley Chandra, was very warm and hospitable.

We have been here before and happy to report our second visit did not disappoint! We wish we could dine here every week! The intrigue of the blacked out slide door entry, makes you feel like you’re entering a private club. The staff welcome you to your plush and intimate dining area. The view of the sky tower and city is wonderful with floor to ceiling windows. Each exquisite dish was plated with such artistry, so beautiful and tastes just as divine! Each morsel was flavour explosions, tastebuds dancing and awakened! Even the plates are fun and playful elegance -the chef informed us they are created by locals, this added to the dining experience,. After dessert, the kitchen also served a lovely chocolate with candle for our birthday celebration. It was a brilliant experience highly recommended from start to finish! Thank you Sidart!

Sidart had fallen off our radar lately but I’m so very glad it was on First Table because it was fantastic. From the excellent & friendly wonderful service by lovely staff to the incredible 7 courses of pure heaven. The food was sublime in a professional highest level of excellence capacity. The courses had amazing variety & if I had been asked what I wanted it would have been pretty close to that. 2-3 seafood, lamb then beef then a refreshing almost sorbet dessert followed by a dessert. Heaven! The wine list was best I’ve seen in a while too. The view alone is worth the visit! Thank you Sidart, so glad to have you back on our radar & you made my birthday complete.

With two locations in Auckland, it has become a favorite dining spot for both locals and visitors.
Just looking for a little place. Just got into town in New Zealand at the pier. Like for some Asian food, something with flavor. We stumbled upon this place. The food was excellent. Service was good. Staff was prompt on all their items. The food is brought out as it's ready instead of waiting for everyone. Kind of nice. They're just small little dishes that we ordered. Everything tasted extremely fresh. Everything tasted the way it should. And met all our expectations. Me and Agnes were both please. Atmosphere sitting on the water. Relaxing. Eating good food beautiful scenery. Even though we're a little tired from our 13-hour flight. Still was nice to sit down. I have quality food. Another week or so here. Can't wait to try many more restaurants.

Prego Restaurant is a well-established Italian eatery offering a mix of traditional and contemporary dishes in a lively and relaxed setting. I won't give a 5/5. Instead a 6 or even a 7 out of 5 for the food and service. Great food, especially those beer battered oysters- oh wow. And the great service, simply awesome.

Enjoy a lovely lunch with friends. The food is amazing, especially the pizzas, which are hard but delicious. Almost everything here is really good.
Pwint S — Google review
I’ll start with the positives. The atmosphere was excellent — a beautiful, inviting space that immediately gave the impression we were in for a great dining experience. The wine list was also outstanding, clearly curated with care and offering some top-quality choices. The broccolini was the highlight of the meal and truly deserves full marks. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn’t live up to expectations. The food overall felt disjointed. My pasta was overly salty (thankfully I only ordered the entrée size), and the pizza was soft, undercooked, and lacking in flavor. Even the tomato sauce and basil were dull, which left the dish flat. The four of us shared it, and all agreed it missed the mark. Other dishes were similarly underwhelming, with little depth or balance. The initial service was really warm and welcoming, the mid service felt disconnected, with no real warmth or sense of engagement, when we had concluded our meal there was more of an attempt at some small humor.— but it felt more like it was “just a job” for the most part. (But this could also be my opinion working in the luxury/high end sector of hospitality) It’s a shame, because the setting and wine list suggest so much potential. Unfortunately, the food and service didn’t measure up, and I won’t be returning.

Since 1986! Who else can claim that in Auckland? And second owner operator since 1991. Need any other reason to come here and try? How about their 5 cheese pizza - yes not Quattro here 😁 Amazing kitchen and professional front of house staff that I thought was simply most impressive. Yes not your cheap pizza pasta Italian food joint, but that’s not what Ponsonby does or anyone needs. Make it count when you go out. Plus they have some free parking spaces, yes in Ponsonby and yes good luck with getting one, but still that’s very unusual and worth a note here.

Delicious food! I had the Prego Pie, and it was absolutely delicious, flavourful, hearty, and incredibly filling. The pie was perfectly crispy, and everything on the plate complemented each other beautifully. It felt like the ultimate comfort food. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes from the menu! The customer service was excellent as well. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better.

Where do you start?! This place was outstanding! The service was absolutely amazing followed by the food that was delicious 😋 I will definitely be back next time i am in Auckland!
Lachlan I — Google review
Having heard from some friends that Prego is one of the best Italian spots in central Auckland, we were keen to give it a try! It definitely lives up to the hype! Getting there was easy—though depending on the time and day, parking might be straightforward or involve a short walk. The venue is surprisingly spacious and seats a good number of diners. According to their website, they don’t take reservations, so we walked in for dinner on a Monday evening. Even though it was still busy, we were seated right away. The staff were attentive, friendly, and quick to top up our waters throughout the night. For two people, we ordered the calamari fritti ($28), linguine alla marinara ($42), and filetto ($48). The standout for me was the linguine—partly because I’m a sucker for seafood, but also because the pasta was perfectly cooked and generously loaded with prawns, mussels, cockles, and tuna. The seafood was beautifully tender and fresh, adding real depth to the dish. The filetto was served with potatoes au gratin that were crisp on the outside and beautifully layered—absolutely delicious. The steak itself was topped with chimichurri and a rich jus, and we were pleased to receive it exactly as ordered: a perfect medium rare. No complaints—just a perfectly executed dish. The calamari fritti was also cooked beautifully—light and tender and perfectly paired with some greens and lemon. To end the night, we couldn’t resist trying the tiramisu ($18), especially after seeing a few go past to other tables. I’m glad we did—easily one of the best we’ve had. The sponge was nicely soaked with espresso and marsala, and the balance between the whipped egg and mascarpone cream layers was spot on. Rich, but not overly sweet—something many tiramisus struggle to achieve. Dining here is definitely a treat, but it’s an experience worth having. We’re already looking forward to coming back to explore more of the menu!

A lovely bar/restaurant with a great view over Auckland’s marina. It has a really nice atmosphere, friendly service, and the food is absolutely delicious. I ordered a vodka and apple juice, but it didn’t seem to contain any alcohol. After mentioning this, I was immediately offered a replacement — which turned out to be the same taste. I assume the standards for mixed drinks are much lighter here. After pointing it out again, they promptly offered me a refund. A very professional and honest place — definitely worth a visit!

Attended the Drag Quiz Night at Dr Rudi’s. The food (Oysters, fries and pizza) were delicious, as was the mocktail. The staff were friendly and attentive as well. Would definitely return - such a good energy and good quality restaurant. Things for improvement: The table was incredibly wobbly/unstable, which made it feel very precarious. The quiz was also quite short.

Nice food but chicken schnitzel could’ve been better, was served with gravy which wasn’t very complimentary. Service was good everyone very nice, really nice spot and a good view! Outdoor seating has heaters as well which was a nice touch.

Had a great time at Dr Rudi’s! The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and the rooftop terrace is such a cool spot with amazing views. One of the best parts is that you can play bowling with your friends for free, which makes the whole experience even more fun. But what really made it special was the service from Udi — super friendly, attentive, and truly personalized. You can tell he genuinely cares about making sure everyone has a great time. KAZUYA restaurant is a chic and contemporary dining spot that offers fixed-price menus featuring Japanese-influenced European dishes. The head chef and owner, Kazuya Yamauchi, has an impressive culinary background and aims to provide a dining experience akin to theater or cinema. The intimate 25-seat dining room is tastefully decorated, providing an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere for enjoying the masterfully prepared modern European/Japanese cuisine.
Perfect meal at Kazuya this evening - interesting, well presented courses, excellent service and it was lovely to meet Kazuya himself. Highlights were the sashimi, the terakihi and the beef. Plus the croissant ice cream with hazelnuts of course. Thank you 🤍

When I first seen the size of the dishes I said: where do we go to have a pizza or else after as I'm famished. But was I disappointed....?! Yes in a good way. The last bites from the last dish I couldn't even eat it anymore. Each bite from each and every dish was not what it seemed to be....all was bursting of flavour. Your tongue gets super excited and buzzes....it is like a culinary orgasm...so you better wait at least half a minute before you take another bite. And prepare for surprises everything will taste differently than you expect to.And every little detail from plate to arrangement is very expertly chosen. And really you have to allow 2.5hrs for the full 7 dish menu....you can't rush it or you spoil it. So even if outside looks very simple and you would not expect for such a restaurant in that place prepare for Michelin macromolecular type of cuisine to delight you. Well done to Kazuya and the whole team.

The service was outstanding and staff was very attentive. The food was delicious and the courses were delivered at an excellent pace. The portion sizes varied, felt appropriate for each dish, and together made for a meal that did not leave you hungry or overly full, as some prex fixe menus can. Of particular note, the wagyu dish was simple yet elegant and may be one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. I would definitely recommend this as a must-try stop in Auckland!
Vish K — Google review
They were soo kind here that I wish I could give this a higher rating but unfortunately the ambience was a big miss. Not the vibe you’d expect at a fixed course restaurant ESPECIALLY given the price point. Outdated leather seats, poor lighting, cracked serving dishes … The food dishes themselves were all very unique but only half were tasty (my husband liked more than I did). Also one of our servers couldn’t answer basic questions like the difference in the two types of sake they were selling. Quite disappointed overall especially given the high rating :/
Yasmeen S — Google review
Was pleasantly surprised. The food was good, especially the pork, veggies, beef and desserts were stand out dishes. They also brought out bread with butter, salt and some honey jelly - was so good.

Had a truly memorable night at Kazuya with the 7-course degustation. If you like food with creativity, elegance, and pace, this is one of the better fine dining experiences in Auckland. The dishes are individually beautiful and thoughtfully composed. Every course felt special. The “Texture” plate with all the seasonal veggies was a standout and the beef course was cook perfectly! Totally worth it for a special night out.

Grand Harbour is a popular and upscale dining spot known for its wide variety of Hong Kong-style dishes, particularly their delicious dim sum. While some have found the food to be heavy on MSG, others have enjoyed specific items like the spinach dumplings. The restaurant has been a downtown favorite for over a decade and is considered by many as the go-to destination for authentic Hong Kong-style yum cha in Auckland.
Grand Harbour is probably the best place to come to have Yum Cha. If you’re entertaining family or friends or just want to come to the best place in Auckland for Yum Cha, Grand Harbour is the place. Massive selection of dishes, perfectly complimented by hot jasmine tea. Fully licensed if you’d prefer a beer or glass of wine. Comfortable seating - whether you’re one person or a small group. Want great Yum Cha? Look no further
Ray C — Google review
Grand Harbour mistreats the seafood they serve, keeping lobsters and fish crammed into small, poorly maintained tanks with little regard for the animals themselves. The sight of it alone makes you question how fresh or ethical the food can be. On top of that, the prices are outrageously high for what’s offered—tiny portions that hardly justify the cost. It feels like customers are being charged premium rates for poorly treated animals and disappointing meals.
Waa O — Google review
This Chinese restaurant has been here for a long time and one of the more popular ones. I was here some years ago, the food was good and now, still as good. The steam fish we had was the blue cod. It was like the 'ikan hantu' or 'soon hock' we called back in Malaysia. The blue cod meat here is softer than the soon hock. The long beans was just deliciously fried with minced meat. I love the braised tau foo with pak choy and seafood, it was nicely done. The four kinds meat platter was surprisingly good too. Not forgetting the seafood fried rice, it was yummy too.

Hello Beasty is a vibrant and popular dining spot located in the Viaduct. Since its opening in 2019, it has become a favorite among locals. The restaurant offers a creative fusion of East Asian and New Zealand cuisine, drawing inspiration from Japan, Korea, and China.
Popped in after our flight to the city of sails, friendly and welcoming staff. Helpful at explaining the Asian - New Zealand menu with a smile. We only had the Black Estate Chardonnay after a long night out before hand, and it was good. The cocktail menu sounded nice, next time. Tasty dishes and desserts, fresh and excellent quality.

Came here for my boyfriend’s birthday meal. We were served by Lizzie who was so friendly and helpful. We didn’t know what to order, so we got the $95 discovery menu. They just kept bringing food out, and everything was delicious! The highlight was the lamb shoulder with a delicious rich sauce, steamed rice & broccoli. The desert of the crème brûlée cheesecake was amazing also. Really enjoyable evening. The music is quite lively & loud, if you want a quiet, intimate dinner then this is not the venue for you

Such a great dining experience. Buzzing. But not too loud. Impeccable service, thank you Georgia. All the staff were knowledgable and helpful. Food was next level. Prawn and crab toast, sashimi - amazingly fresh. Pork belly, crispy and so flavoursome. Slow cooked carrots were just delicious. Drinks menu extensive and well suited. Deserts - I cannot rate them more highly. Very busy. As they should be - book in advance. It was our last night in NZ and a brilliant end to a truly great epicurean tour of the north island. Thank you so much.

A good example of Asian fusion cuisine. Overall, everything was good. Nothing particularly bad, but also nothing especially memorable. The staff were attentive and professional, just as you'd expect at a fine restaurant. However, the atmosphere felt more like a pub during busy hours. Distracting due to noise from guests, the kitchen, and loud background music, making it hard to hold a proper conversation.

Georgina was a lovely host. The food does take a while to come out but it was absolutely delicious. Came here with a friend recently for dinner. The food was nice and well presented if a bit small in price. The servers were nice but the bartender was rather indifferent and dismissive to me when we first entered and inquired about dining options. The price of the food here is also quite high but for a fine dining experience its nice. Good for a one time try or if you enjoy fancy food but I won't be returning anytime soon.

This place is always buzzing with people, even late at night. I’d heard a rumour a while ago that it might be closing down &...I hope that’s not true! The staff are all super friendly and make you feel like an old friend, which makes the whole experience really enjoyable. I ordered a drink and a pizza during Happy Hour. The Margherita pizza had that beautiful wood-fired look and a lovely thick, bready base. It was so authentic that I couldn’t believe it was only $15. I also tried Coco’s Sangria...fruity, but with a nice depth and a hint of bitterness that made it stand out. It’s $14 a glass and definitely worth trying!

We hired out the courtyard area for a birthday dinner and had an amazing time. The service was phenomenal, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were catered for and always checked up on us despite it being a very busy night. The food and drinks were also delicious and everything came out just at the right time. We were very impressed by the quality of service and would definitely recommend this place. The space was also very nice and they decorated and set up the tables beautifully. Japanese restaurant
Cocoro is a modern Japanese restaurant located in Auckland, offering an artfully modern take on Japanese cuisine. The restaurant has received universal acclaim from food critics and offers small plates as well as set-course menus. With a comprehensive sake list and communal dining table, Cocoro provides a diverse dining experience for its patrons. One of its signature dishes is the sashimi platter, which features over 25 different varieties of fresh seafood presented in a decorative manner.
We had the special truffle course, and it was exceptional. I love truffles and have tried several truffle courses at various restaurants, but this was one of the best — they really brought out the flavour of the truffle beautifully. My partner has some dietary restrictions, and the team created a beautifully tailored course menu for us. The food was consistently sophisticated in flavour, with elegant presentation. Every staff member was friendly, and the service was refined and professional. Cocoro continues to be one of my absolute favourite restaurants in New Zealand.

Easily the best Japanese restaurant experience we have had in New Zealand. After living in Japan for four years we are particular and Cocoro was excellent in all respects. The food was excellent, ambience very good but what really stood out was the service. The team embraced the concept of Omotenashi so well. Looking forward to returning soon! Highly recommend.

We had amazing dinner here we did the à la carte menu. The sashimi was fantastic possibly one of the best in Auckland. If not New Zealand. The steak was amazing. The staff were really friendly and helpful and all around great restaurant. I haven’t been for awhile. It’s nice to see they haven’t dropped their standards.
Jason D — Google review
The food is usually very good and ambience is nice for special occasions. This visit was no exception. However, my partner found a moth floating in the broth of their Inaniwa udon, as you can see from the attached photos (a little hard to see due to the lighting, but the antenna and legs are clearly visible). I understand that this happens occasionally with every establishment, but a premium restaurant like Cocoro needs to do better. Me and my partner actually had some of this dish prior to finding the moth! We didn’t make a scene, but it’s disgusting to think that one of us could have swallowed the moth by accident on top of drinking the moth-soaked broth. When we complained, the staff apologised profusely, which was decent of them. I still really wanted to just pay and leave at that point, as the thought of eating moth soup was disgusting. My partner wanted to stay for the dessert we ordered, so there we stayed, had a new udon that they re-prepared and dessert. At the end of the meal, they gave us some chocolate ganache as apology. When paying, they told us about how they will review their pest control (they current have two dispensers). If you are curious, no, they did not take the udon off the bill. The food was delicious, as always, but I took down 4 stars for the moth. Customer service is excellent, attentive and helpful, but greatly lacking the ability to respond to this sort of situation. I hope it was an isolated incident as Cocoro used to be my favourite Japanese restaurant, although I now doubt their overall food safety standards behind the scenes.
Sean T — Google review
WOW the sashimi platter here is insane! It had all my favourites as well as many new morsels I had never tried before. Photos dont do justice to how impressive it is in person, the level of care that goes into the presentation becomes more clear as you go. The service was 10/10 as well. Our lovely (and knowledgeable) server explained the best order to eat certain pieces and what each of the 5 dipping sauces go best with. So much fun, will definitely be back!

We visited a few weeks ago and loved it—so we had to come back, and it was just as good the second time (and the third!). The coffee is top-notch—lattes, mochas, and hot chocolates were all delicious. Not too sweet, just really well-balanced. But what really won us over were the pastries and snacks. A lot of what they offer changes with the available ingredients, so there’s always something new to try. One time, we had an incredible strawberry cheesecake tart. They also do the classics really well—croissants, pain au chocolat, cookies, and their Basque cheesecake is unreal! Update: We had a lovely tomato lentil soup here on a recent visit; honestly one of the best soups we’ve ever had! The staff are super friendly and up for a good chat. Mornings can get a bit busy, but it's absolutely worth it.

Cadzador is an absolute gem. My friend and I started with the Persian Princess cocktails—delightfully balanced and a perfect opener. We finished with what might be the best chocolate mousse in Auckland—light, rich, unforgettable. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely elevated the experience. Don’t miss enjoying a drink in the charming courtyard out back—it’s the perfect way to round out an exceptional evening.

The cafe offers a relaxed dining experience with a focus on Italian-inspired dishes and specialty coffee. The ever-changing menu features unique breakfast options with a Filipino twist, using seasonal produce to create interesting and delicious dishes. With an inviting atmosphere and outdoor seating available, Williams Eatery provides a great place to enjoy good food and drink in the heart of the city center.
This place is no longer Williams Eatery - it’s now Bowler! They offer a fantastic selection of bowls, letting you choose from chicken, beef, or salmon, with bases of either brown rice, salad, or a mix of both. There are plenty of healthy options to enjoy here. I visited Bowler with my colleagues to check out the new spot, and it didn’t disappoint. The experience was wonderful! The staff were friendly and personally called out our names from the counter when our bowls were ready. It got quite busy during lunchtime, but at $17.90 per bowl, the price felt reasonable and well worth it. So far, I’ve tried the Free-Range Chicken Bowl (No. 1) and the Mt. Cook Salmon Bowl (No. 4). Both were absolutely delicious! The brown rice base is perfect if you’re looking for a more filling meal. The bowls focus on highlighting the natural flavours of the ingredients, with no heavy sauces - just fresh, wholesome goodness. I enjoyed Williams, and now I am loving Bowler too. I’ll definitely be coming here more often for lunch. Highly recommended!

For our food we chose the poached eggs on sourdough with a side of smoked salmon, and the blueberry French toast. Really really good. The best brunch we had in Auckland.

Love the service here and the quality of the food. You know it's good when the chef changes the menu. This particular time we had the steak, and baps with bacon. All on point.

Appreciating these final warm-ish mornings here in Auckland, I went out for breakfast with my wonderful team at Williams Eatery in Wynyard Quarters. The ambiance and service were delightful, complemented by excellent coffee and a decent breakfast selection. Every dish was thoughtfully presented and promptly served. This time, I opted for the Fig Toast, enticed by its promising description and hoping for a refreshing start to my day. Regrettably, it didn’t quite meet my expectations. While nicely presented, I found the feta overpowering and the fig lacking in flavor (truth be told, the figs I’ve had lately seem to lack their usual taste). I would appreciate a more harmonious balance of flavors in this dish, considering its appealing combination of ingredients. Despite my experience with the Fig Toast, I still find Williams Eatery a charming breakfast spot and look forward to returning to sample other items on their menu when I’m back in town.

The Parasol and Swing Company is a trendy tiki-inspired spot located in the heart of Viaduct. It offers a modern take on South Pacific kitsch with an extensive rum selection and exceptional service. The venue boasts stunning views of luxury boats, along with a nostalgic entrance and extravagant cocktail presentations. Notable drinks include the signature Pornstar Spritz and a variety of mocktails. The menu features innovative light bites, burgers, tacos, salads, and legendary jalapeno poppers.
This place was good. It was one we included as a quick stop for a drink and small bite. So glad we did. Mushroom cocktail was good. 10 dollar bo buns was such a great deal and taste great. Service was fantastic. We will go back next time we are eating and drinking at the via duct.

We had a great experience here with the cocktails and service. Our group of 20+ came in for a Friday afternoon booking and casual drinks with mixed seating/standing and everything ran smoothly (we stayed for hours). We were served mainly by Luke who was incredibly friendly, taking orders and payment, bringing out the orders, keeping everything tidy etc. While we mostly stuck to drinks, we did share some fries, jalapeño poppers, and fried chicken which were all great to nibble on. Stress free experience for a corporate leaving-do and would definitely come back again.

Came in early and was allowed to sit down and relax before ordering, beautiful assortment of drinks available and the food was lovely. Food is priced very well and the location is just perfect. Our server was very welcoming and tended to our needs. Food came out pretty quickly and was lovely and warm. Definitely worth coming back !

What a night at Parasol & Swing! The cocktails were next-level—creative, delicious, and beautifully crafted. The vibe was on point with a great crowd and an incredible live DJ who kept the energy high all night. We had a fantastic time sipping on their signature drinks and then dancing it all off. Such a fun, classy spot for a night out in the Viaduct. Can’t wait to go back! The crew was awesome.

The Auckland Fish Market is a vibrant indoor-outdoor hub located in the heart of Wynyard Quarter. It offers an array of fresh seafood stalls and casual dining options, making it perfect for groups with diverse tastes. From Billypot's fresh seafood to Market Galley's fish & chips, Mar and Tierra's Latin delights, and Oji Sushi's Japanese cuisine, there is something for everyone.
I was pleasantly surprised by this fish market — it’s so clean and well-maintained, which is not what I expected! The seafood is incredibly fresh, and the prices are very reasonable. The oysters, in particular, were a highlight — super fresh, flavorful, and unbelievably cheap. Every dish we tried, from the fish to other seafood offerings, was cooked perfectly and full of taste. The lively atmosphere, combined with the friendly vendors and the quality of the food, made it a truly enjoyable experience. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this is definitely a must-visit spot for anyone who loves fresh seafood.

This Fish Market is a nice place if you like seafood. You can eat many things like fish and chips, prawns, oysters, and sushi. The food is fresh and tasty. The place is clean and not too busy. You can sit inside or outside. It’s a good spot to relax, eat, and talk with friends or family. The workers are friendly and helpful. There is also a shop where you can buy fresh fish to cook at home. The prices are okay – not too cheap, but the food is good. Parking can be a little hard, but the visit is still worth it. If you like seafood, you should try this place…….

Absolutely! Here’s a positive review for the Auckland Fish Market: 5 stars The Auckland Fish Market is a must-visit for any seafood lover! Located near the water, it has an awesome mix of 8 diverse eateries, all offering fresh, flavorful dishes—from sushi and oysters to fish & chips and seafood platters. There’s truly something for every palate, and the quality is consistently excellent. Beyond the food, there's a lovely central courtyard that makes it a great place to relax with friends or family. It has a fun, lively atmosphere without being overwhelming, and the indoor-outdoor layout gives it a laid-back coastal vibe. What sets this place apart is the seafood market itself—packed with an impressive variety of fresh seafood to take home. Whether you're after prawns, mussels, salmon, or something more adventurous, it’s all there, and super fresh. Perfect for a casual lunch, a special dinner, or just browsing the seafood selection—Auckland Fish Market hits the mark for quality, variety, and atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Awesome fish market. Well set out. Grat that you can buy fresh fillets from Sanford and sons fishmongers and get them grilled for you at the fish market grill. They have something for everyone really. Great atmosphere. Lunch on a Thursday wasn't overly busy. Great service. I think it's better than Sydney fish markets.
Ross C — Google review
The Auckland Fish Market is just a 15-minute walk from the harbor area, and my hotel concierge recommended visiting. It’s down a street that’s behind the main waterfront restaurants and bars. The market itself was much smaller than I expected. There’s only one vendor selling raw fish, while the others offered items like oysters and mussels, bagels, and sushi rolls (no fresh sashimi). There’s a small dining area with tables and chairs. My partner and I shared a bucket of mussels in tomato sauce ($15 NZD). The sauce was flavorful, but the mussels were a bit rubbery. On the plus side, the market has free Wi-Fi and public restrooms. There’s also a wholesale fish auction in the mornings for bulk buyers. Overall, compared to other waterfront fish markets I’ve visited in Europe or Asia, this one is small and underwhelming. I wouldn’t recommend visiting unless you’re already in the harbor area.
Justin M — Google review
Delicious! I recommend the Lobster roll is a good taste. Grilled fish also nice! Here is more and more restaurants and takeaway food, wine and beer, coffee or sofe drinks.

The place has been renovated since we last visited years and years ago. It definitely looks more clean and modern now. A few different vendors and there is also another food stall market area on the waterside just 1-2 mins away. A great place to come and grab lunch and have a stroll afterwards.

Java is an Indonesian restaurant located on Karangahape Road in Auckland. The restaurant offers a vibrant and eclectic atmosphere with pastel pink and pistachio decor. Known for its epic Indonesian dishes, Java presents food that is not only delicious but also beautifully presented.
Delicious food (also a very rare find in a lot of places dishes-wise), great atmosphere, good music playing, very lovely service! One of my favorite places in Auckland that I’ve been. Also on the liveliest and loveliest part of or near CBD. Wish I had discovered it sooner since I’m leaving now, but top three for sure if not my favorite!

First time trying Java and it was definitely worth the trip. The flavours are packed with punches but the portion is just the right size. We went for dinner but I'm sure the lunch options are just as good or even better. Can't wait to go again :)

Real Indonesian food is available across Aotearoa New Zealand. The taste is typical of a high-standard restaurant in Indonesia. I’ve been homesick for months and these foods solved my problem🙂‍↔️ For Kiwi: The Iga Penyet (beef-based meal) will be best for you. Their beef rendang is the real taste of Indonesian beef rendang. They are not spicy, but you can add sambal (spicy paste) separately. If you are a vegetarian or vegan, there are an abundance of options for you! Don't forget to try Martabak for dessert. PS: These foods could be a remedy for your weekend hangover 🤭 ssssoooo tasty!

I had the laksa for dinner which was ok. The flavour of the laksa soup was good. Price to portion was average. With no additional toppings, the $20 laksa included an egg, slightly undercooked noodles, and beansprouts. The place has nice decor with some neon lights at night. Need to go up to the counter to order.

We came to Java in a group of six people for our Christmas team lunch. The restaurant is nicely decorated with Indonesian/Java theme and we were served by friendly staff. This restaurant has a lot to offer - what more can you ask for? 👍

Dropped in for the $10 lunch. It was simple, but very tasty and exceptional value - rice, omelet, choice of a vegetable dish. Really good value for money. I don't know many places where you can feed yourself for $10 for lunch. Cute interior design. Lots of space for groups of all sizes and people dining alone. A bunch of people turned up after us, so looks popular. The menu looks great, will come back another time to try it.

This was a great place to get dessert after dinner. They had such interesting flavors. It was hard not to get a sample of every single one of them. Well, my husband like the more traditional flavor is I like the ones that were in the main stream. There’s no place inside, but there is a cute little covered patio outside

I’m a regular here for my pecan butterscotch tub and I’m extremely frustrated and disappointed with Duck Island. I’ve encountered this situation twice where there’s literally no butterscotch at all in the tub. Please be generous with the butterscotch! I really didn’t expect a butterscotch ice cream without butterscotch! Please take note. Hopefully, Duck Island will do something about it. Thank you.

SkyCity Auckland is a popular destination in New Zealand, featuring a casino with over 100 table games, upscale restaurants, and hotels. The highlight of this place is the iconic Sky Tower, which stands as the tallest structure in the country at over 325 meters. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking 360-degree views of Auckland's landmarks from the upper floors of The Pinnacle Tower hotel. Additionally, there are various attractions nearby such as Weta Workshop Unleashed and the All Blacks Experience for rugby enthusiasts.
A vibrant and entertaining experience in the heart of Auckland! SkyCity Auckland is a fantastic place to visit if you're looking for a mix of dining, entertainment, and breathtaking views. The Sky Tower is a must-see, especially at sunset—absolutely stunning! We dined at one of the restaurants inside (highly recommend Orbit 360°) and loved both the food and the unique revolving view. The casino was lively, and the atmosphere overall felt safe and welcoming. The hotel itself was clean, modern, and well-located. Staff were polite and helpful, though check-in took a little longer than expected. Parking was slightly confusing but manageable. Handy spot for where we needed to be. Rooms a great size and very comfortable. Only down side was the fact that reception staff seems lacking in knowledge regarding a request on my booking. Supervisor wasn't helpful even after spending 2 days trying to rectify the issue. Ruined our trip and won't be staying there again. Casino staff upstairs and the housekeeping staff very helpful. Front of desk needs some work. Can only suggest if you have an agreed promotion that you check it will be adhered to.

The venue was a nightmare to navigate. Way too many people and trying to get in and out of lifts was awful. Couldn't get food as it was packed. The food at the theatre was disgusting. Trying to get to the theatre was difficult. Trying to get out of the carpark was insane. Fir an international venue, I was embarrassed. Kids should not be able to view the casino when going to a show and you shoukd be able to easily get to the level where the food is - apparently not. Nightmare evening

Restaurant
Peach's Hot Chicken offers a life-changing experience with its authentic Nashville-style fried chicken, using a recipe passed down by the owner's grandmother. The menu features various spice levels, including the notorious Holy Cluck. You can savor the flavors with simple servings or indulge in their best-selling Baller Sandwich. The establishment gained popularity for its hour-long wait at a fried chicken festival, showcasing its authentic Nashville hot chicken.
We came on a Saturday evening around 6.30ish and the place was buzzing. There was a short queue out the door, all indoor tables were occupied and most of the outdoor too. As we walked in... we were greeted by Alex who was friendly and welcoming and was advised of a 15-20 minute wait to be seated inside or we could be seated straight away for outdoors. We chose to dine indoors and Alex offered for us to wait by the bar. We bought a couple of drinks and waited. During our wait, Alex (who we later came to discover to be the owner) came up to us a couple of times to keep us updated with our wait time. We were then seated within 10 minutes. We ordered a couple of more drinks, the big dark which came with fries, the chicken and biscuit, the pork gravy and the pimento mac and cheese. Every dish we ordered was an absolute hit! Absolutely loved the chicken and biscuit and the pimento mac and cheese! The flavours were so morish and flavorsome. Beverage wise, the behemoth which was recommended by our waitress was a nice drop especially for someone like myself who is not usually a lager drinker. During our meal, both Alex and our waitress came over to check on how we were finding our meal and were pro active in ensuring we were well looked after and our table was cleared of empty glasses, plates etc. I highly recommend coming here if you are a fried chicken lover! The vibe, the service and the food is 10/10! We have now added this to our go-to chicken restaurant! Thanks Alex and peach's team!

Southern Comfort Done Right! Peach’s Hot Chicken in Panmure is hands down the best southern-style chicken joint I’ve come across in Auckland. Everything you’d expect from true southern comfort food is served up here – bold, authentic flavours, crispy fried goodness, and that satisfying kick that keeps you coming back. The chicken? Absolutely bomb. Juicy on the inside, perfectly crunchy on the outside, and seasoned to perfection. You can tell they know their way around southern spices. The only downside? The lemonade didn’t quite hit the mark – a bit of a letdown. But honestly, when the food is this good, it’s easy to overlook. If you’re craving real-deal southern chicken, this is the place to be. I’ll be back for sure!

This burger doesn’t just look good—it delicious. The chicken is super crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packs a flavorful punch. The pickles add that perfect tangy crunch that cuts through the richness of the chicken.

Outstanding fried chicken - I visited Peach's again after a long time. I forgot how good it was! The chicken was moist while the battery was crispy and packed with punchy flavour. I had the waffles which were super fluffy! 👌 The burger was juicy and hits the spot. Their 1L size drinks are also super handy especially if you're in a group. The peanut butter mousse pie is divine honestly.

Had the chicken waffles, absolutely delicious. The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly, waffles were buttery and sweet with the maple sauce. Service was fast and friendly. A big car park at the back so parking nearby was easy. Definitely worth coming if you're visiting Auckland or are a local too 😊

This was my second time dining at Peach’s and I won’t leave so long between visits next time! My chicken & waffles was amazing, so delicious. Enjoyed the Mac n cheese and pickles, the fries were a little average compared to the other sides. The peanut butter mousse pie for dessert was divine and an absolute highlight. As for the place itself, it was very hot inside although they did have an industrial fan going. The staff were verrrrry quick to clear our plates, normally a good thing but we were still picking at the side dishes when they whisked our plates away. The female toilet was in a state, not sure if that’s normal there. Overall a great dining experience with incredible food.

Great food and fantastic service. Im a big fan of chicken and really love it hot. That's why I come here. I've known Peach since High School and they've always been into really hot chicken, not spicy hot, hot hot. Some people like cold chicken with a salad, or room temperature chicken in a sandwich. The staff's attitude was utterly dreadful. They kept glaring at us with such hostility, and when we tried to make a purchase, they were downright rude. Even after I'd paid, they practically shoved me out the door. The two shop assistants were a fair-haired woman and another with two pigtails. Xi'an food bar is an establishment in central city Auckland where you can enjoy handpulled noodles with a variety of toppings. The noodles are delicious and the restaurant has utilitarian interiors.
Hand pulled noodle soups are quite tasty and so are the Chinese burgers. Not as spicy as it could be but very flavorful!
Cindy N — Google review
It had been awhile since I had ordered from here but ordered dinner from here recently and I went back three times to order dinner to takeaway. I ordered the cucumber salad (#73), wonton soup (#84) and corned beef Chinese burger (#9). All of it was delicious and I'd highly recommend drizzling the chilli sauce from the salad onto the corned beef in the burger if you order it. Great flavour as the burger is quite dry without some sort of sauce. You could even stuff some of the salad in it too or just eat it together. I've ordered #8 in the past but it was just a bit too fiery for me and should have a two chilli rating rather than one chilli. Staff are nice.

Xi Ann Food Bar is a cozy, small shop that punches well above its weight. They make their own noodles from scratch, which truly elevates the dish. We highly recommend trying their cumin lamb noodles—they’re delicious, packed with flavor, and the portions are huge, easily enough to share between two people. The unique, fresh quality of the homemade noodles and the well-balanced seasoning make for a memorable dining experience. One noodle cost about 15$.
Bryan C — Google review
My favourite place in the whole of Auckland for noodles. Don’t underestimate this small shop tucked away in the corner. The cumin lamb noodles are the best - flavour is spot on, noodles are nice and chewy and portion size is perfect. Always find myself coming back every couple months.

AMAZING food! We got the cucumber salad, the veggie hand-pulled noodles and the hand-pulled noodles with pork and it was soooo delicious! The portions were very good and the staff very nice :-) We would definitly recommend!
Anna S — Google review
There’s really nothing fancy about Xi’an but there’s a lot that’s special about it. You go there for the hand pulled noodle soup and it doesn’t matter which one you choose, it’ll be good. If you like authentic food that’s full of flavour and of amazing value, then this is the place. Xi’an is an institution that will outlast any fancy restaurant out there. Would I like a beer with my food, yea I would but also, I’m glad I don’t get to have one - healthier you know. My pork noodle soup was everything I wanted it to be, warming and perfectly seasoned, it was a simple dish so it was nice to add a little pickled garlic to it, that tastes like Chinese medicine and not garlic at all - super unique flavour, not spicy, not even garlicky. I always get pickled cucumber, every place does them differently and I love all of them, crunchy, fresh, spicy, saucy yum!
Egor P — Google review
Their hand-pulled noodles have a good texture. Flavours are fine too. But the meat portions are ridiculously insufficient, even for the extra large sizes.
Rohan M — Google review
I'd say that I'm surprised by this place! Firstly, the portions are huge compared to the price I'm paying (my pinky for comparison). The meat is extremely tender, noodles are perfectly bouncy, and soup is flavourful! As an Asian guy, I strongly approve this place!

#French cafe# The coffee was rich and enjoyable, but the pastries were disappointing. The croissant was soft instead of crisp, and the mousse cake, though well-layered with a nicely balanced cherry filling, didn’t taste very fresh. Hopefully, the café can reheat pastries before serving to maintain better quality.

Lovely slice of France in Auckland cbd. I was half tucking into my delicious chicken and pesto panini when I realised I must take a pic for a review ( sorry about the bad photo skills) very nice cafe, spotlessly clean, nice selection of sandwiches and pastries and also very fine French sweets almost too good to eat. A very warm welcome from the front staff very attentive and chatty. The coffee was very good too . Would definitely be back for more , the pastries were very good 👍👍 we decided to buy more to take home for later which was particularly good for my sugar cravings after dinner 😊 Thanks

La Petite Fourchette at the Viaduct is my absolute favorite spot for a morning coffee, and for good reason! The atmosphere has a truly special French feel that is both authentic and welcoming. The coffee is consistently great, and their selection of delicacies is simply divine – a perfect treat to start the day. What truly makes this place stand out, though, is the wonderfully friendly staff. Their warm service always makes you feel welcome and is guaranteed to brighten your morning.

Nice little place for a coffee, pastries and dessert. Yes, had all three in the one sitting. Staff were very friendly. Would come back again for more

Found this fantastic little perfect French cafe with superb pastries & food. Fantastic service, almost like being back in France. Great work team. 😊

April 2025: Amazing quality and service. I had a beautiful champagne ham and cheese sandwich with a long black, which was exceptionally rich and smooth. What coffee beans do you use, folks? Then, I wanted to add a chocolate eclair but they were out. So they made a special one just for me. You're iconic! Please keep up the good work and maintain your exceptionally quality! July 2021: The peculiar waiter is still there. The new story goes as follows. There were quite a few people waiting for their ☕ outside. She came out with a cup, looking for the person who ordered it. First, she approached our table, when a cup of coffee was standing in front of each of us. Then, she approached another person who looked hesitant concerning whether this is the coffee that she ordered or not. Eventually this person took the coffee. However, after taking a couple of sips, she realized that it's not her order and returned it. The waiter took the cup and continued looking for their owner. She found them and tried giving it to them. Only when the owner said that there is lipstick on the cup and she can't have it, the waiter went away promising to return with another cup. @La Petite, it might be the time to take your Fourchette and get your customer service back to your standards. June 2021: They were amazing and then they hired a new staff member. She messed up our order, brought us something else and when we told her that this is not what we asked for she just took it back; we went to the counter to remind the more senior person what we actually ordered. Then she brought the dish, apologized, and smashed the coffee lit when putting the dish on the table. Will try to avoid this kind of service next time. May 2021: A real French 💎. Various goods that make it hard to choose. And the got a new set of cakes.

Accidentally discovered this unique artistic bakery cafe yesterday. Came back today by myself for my feast. Impressed by the look of the pie, more impressed by the unique pastry taste. There’s no oily buttery feels, but nicely balanced of flaky crust. Detailed mousse cake with very unique and details taste. I love strong latte. This place gonna be my top spot to chill from now on. More selections in the morning, after lunch, it’s coffee n cake time. Just like me. My emptied plates proved my reviews 🥰🥰

Great food and service. Staff were very friendly, It was an enjoyable Friday evening and I will be back for dinner.

Amazing food, the owner and staff are super lovely. Only downside for me was that there was no spicy food! But nonetheless, everything was still super delicious :)

I had such a great experience here. The food was beautifully presented, and the portions were just right. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. We went with the set menu and enjoyed every single dish. The flavors were authentic but they would have a dish to suit everyone's palette. I'd say a great intro to Korean cuisine without losing its roots. I highly recommend the plum wine cocktails! Light, refreshing, and the perfect complement to the meal. I’d definitely come back for that alone.

Such a great place for delicious food , great drink options, and perfect atmosphere! I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of the food here- highly recommend. They do breakfast too now(pictured ) vegan options too :)

I took my partner for a birthday dinner and we had the vegetarian set menu. We had an amazing time, the staff is super friendly and attentive. Every dish had a fabulous presentation and it was delicious. The cocktails were outstanding.

Super delicious food ! It’s like a hipster Korean restaurant, cooking familiar Korean dish with style. Portions are a bit bigger than tapas , I would say 4 appetizers and 1 main was just enough between 2 people. Recommended the noodle salad, chicken skin, zucchini chips and spicy rice cakes !

Lobster & Tap is a popular spot located at Auckland Fish Market, offering a unique take on the classic American dish. The establishment has also set up a summer-long pop-up at Mission Bay Pavillion, drawing attention from social media enthusiasts. Despite the relatively high prices, patrons rave about the hot buttered lobster roll, which features generous amounts of butter and lobster with just the right balance of flavors.
I went to Lobster and Tap alone a year ago. I had the Hot Buttered Lobster Roll combo. Absolutely perfect! It might be a bit pricey but it was so worth it.
Quinirog — Google review
Great atmosphere to eat. The hot buttered lobster roll is delicious but there isn’t enough lobster. Of course it’s what costs the most. So add a line on your menu : « extra lobster : 10$ » and then we would have the perfect lobster roll 🙏🏼
Marc W — Google review
This lobster roll is simply divine. Your taste buds will want more even if you are more than full and can no longer stuff another roll in. It is that good Perfectly buttered and toasted roll, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and not chewy as some soft rolls can be. The lobster was perfectly textured also. Just snaps off when you bite into it. The sauce takes this to the next level. Creamy, buttery and smooth
Eugene C — Google review
It’s amazing! I recommend just getting the buttered lobster roll without the fries and salad as those aren’t a highlight so save your money there. The mayo in the non buttered roll one takes away from the taste and texture of the lobster which is not ideal.
Emilie P — Google review
It’s no burger & lobster as in London, but it’s something different compared to the usual options. Service and vibe is great, but as per others, it’s a bit more bun than lobster given the price. Chips, side and pickle are very good. Definitely worth checking out and trying something different when in the area. Would I get it again - yea I probably would :)
Zafir K — Google review
I’ve been wanting to visit lobster and tap after following them on Instagram for quite some time. I was so impressed with the food! Lobster was so fresh and delicious and coleslaw was really good. We tried both lobster rolls, buttered and original and they were both super tasty. We got the combo with coleslaw, a pickle and a beer. Already planning my next trip to the fish market.
R N — Google review
It was my first time having Lobster roll in NZ. The brichore bun was soft and buttery. The lobster wasn’t very outstanding but it’s also not rubbery.
Lo J — Google review
Lobster and Tap was decent- expensive-ish lobster roll which could have used a bit more flavour but the roll was perfectly toasted and not overpowering of the lobster flavour. We got the combo which included some pickle, colelsaw and chips for an extra $4 coming to $29.50NZD. There was a classic or a hot buttered roll available we got the classic.

Nestled in the vibrant Wynyard Quarter, The Rolling Pin has transitioned from a beloved food truck to its first brick-and-mortar location, bringing their renowned handmade dumplings to a wider audience. This husband and wife duo, Gordon and Yina, craft each dumpling with care using traditional techniques infused with modern flavors. Their menu features enticing options like pulled beef and bean curd paired with shiitake mushrooms and bok choy.
These were the best vegan dumplings I’ve ever had! The service and atmosphere were very welcoming, making it a pure pleasure even when dining alone. The Buddha’s Delight Dumplings were incredibly delicious and juicy. I’ll definitely be coming back! Today 07.01.2025 was my last visit to this location as I’m leaving New Zealand. I treated myself to two meals—one for now and one for tomorrow. For the first time, I tried the vegan version of Beijing Zha Jiang. Oh my days, how delicious was that! Super soft, a mix of incredibly tasty ingredients—I even had to double-check if it was really vegan. Simply amazing! 10/5 stars! The staff is also super sweet, and I really enjoyed coming here. Thank you for this unforgettable experience. I’ll do my best to recreate this recipe at home!
Juan S — Google review
I visited The Rolling Pin today for lunch and opted for the Buddha Vegan Dumplings. At $16 for six pieces, I found them a bit pricey given their size. The taste was average, and I felt the accompanying sauces could have been more flavorful to enhance the overall experience. However, the staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly, which added a positive touch to the visit. While the service was commendable, I believe there’s room for improvement in the dish’s flavor profile and value for money
Palak M — Google review
Good value, delicious and healthy. If I lived around here I’d get this often. Nice tables to sit outside at if the weather is nice. Was prepared very quickly and friendly service. I got the sichuan beef bowl, spicy. I like quite spicy food and the spicy was enough for me.

What a taste sensation. And healthy option for take away. We are from Melbourne being food snobs, we were super impressed by The Rolling Pin. Had the dumplings and slaw Tsingtao. The dumplings were full of flavour and filling. Also had the Noodle Salad Bowl Sichuan option. This was my favourite. Beef was tender and the mix of fresh vegetables went together perfectly.
Will O — Google review
I was excited to try this place near to my new workplace, I did have a quick look at reviews and most looked positive and at a 4.7 out of 5 review score, I had decent expectations. However, I was so disappointed. I got the penang dumplings, the dumpling wrapper was thick and gluggy, the filling was minimal but what was there was bland. It was also freezing cold, maybe I missed something and they are supposed to be cold? I am so disappointed, $18 for that was a waste of money. The slaw was nice though. I threw most of it in the bin. I won't be back.

THE BEST CHEESE SCONE IN ALL OF NEW ZEALAND!!! It’s perfect — not too dry and crumbly but not cakey either; tender yet chewy; loads of cheese in texture and flavour but not overpowering; almost caramelized on top. All of this served toasted with the most amazing whipped brown butter?!?! Heavenly!! The coffee is also wonderful. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. Highly recommend!

We used Scratch Bakers to cater for a small work meeting (under 10 colleagues) and were extremely happy with the delicious food for morning tea, impeccable service (especially when we had an address blip on delivery morning!) and would highly recommend their catering service. I will definitely pop into the bakery / cafe itself for some lunch nibbles sometime soon. Thanks guys, really great food and service!

Come here often for great coffee! The small little prosciutto-truffle croissant is amazing. Would love large version of it. Pistachio croissant was a letdown, taste a bit too much like an artifical flavour. Chocolate cruffin was very nice. The place gets busy but won't let you down. Staff Is pretty onto it!

been here few times as lockdown goes longer you try to find new cafes to go saw scratch bakers sounds like a proper bake shop which they somehow make from scratch so it should be fresh so far we have tried the plain and almond croissant, frozen beef cheek pie, steak toastie and ham brioche and their coffees the coffee were good the large size runs small all the croissants disnt taste and looks fresh the frozen pie were good when we heat at home it was moist and had a great flavor. The steak toastie was also good the brioche is a mistake the onion for me was too strong the quality of the brioche was mushy the display area for pastries and donuts looks underwhelming they all look old

Takeout Restaurant
Wise Boys Burgers Downtown is a popular spot for both meat-eaters and vegans alike. The restaurant was born out of a desire to offer more than just token veggie burgers, leading the founders to create an entirely plant-based menu. Originally starting as a food truck, Wise Boys now has brick-and-mortar locations in Grey Lynn and Commercial Bay. Their menu features a variety of mouth-watering vegan burgers, including options like crispy fried chicken, smoky bacon, and BBQ jackfruit.
Took out burgers to take home on a tiring day! The chef was lovely and funny, and super speedy at preparing our food. The burgers were also delicious - I must say I have a preference for patties that imitate meat (this felt more bean burger-esque), but that’s just personal preference and it was still a great burger! Especially the sauce on the wise boy sold me. Loaded fries were also yum! But the highlight was truly the kind chef!
Valentina B — Google review
Go up two levels from the ground floor, to find the busy food court in which Wise Boys is located. You can order at the kiosk and your food is ready in no time. The order pickup process could be improved however. Their food is outstanding though, especially for fast food. The ingredients used are of better quality and much fresher. The fries are great too. I chose a satay burger and was a bit surprised that the satay sauce was not warmed up, but nonetheless tasty. Have a go at it!
The T — Google review
Skip shake out and beeline for the wise boy smash burger with their burger sauce - proper sloper burger goodness! Does it taste like meat? No, but it isn't meant to and it SLAPS! The fries are the best fries in the food court.

I just grabbed a bite to eat at Wise Burger in Commercial Bay today. Let me tell you, it's hands down the best vegan burger in town. I ordered through the machine and my meal came out super fast. Plus, the price was really reasonable. I'll definitely be coming back for more.
Augustine T — Google review
It’s been so long since I’ve had a chicken burger and I’d yet to find an incredible vegan one. Thank goodness for Wise Boys - the best vegan chicken burger I’ve ever tasted! It makes me so happy that I no longer feel I am missing out. The staff were so super friendly and helpful in giving me recommendations and the burger came out super quick. Overall would 100% recommend to any vegan out there looking for a great burger! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Maxie O — Google review
Best vegan burger! Best customer service from Rei! Plant based food is quite expensive in the supermarket! It’s better to buy it cooked and cheaper if it’s get a combo. Plant based meat tastes better than the real thing and is lighter on the tummy. Will definitely eat here again!
Siala U — Google review
Probably one of the most innovative (vegan) eateries out there. Super authentic burgers with no compromise, I loved everything. Everything served is vegan friendly. Slightly on the pricier side. Moustache Milk & Cookie Bar in Remuera is a delightful spot that offers freshly baked cookies paired with a glass of milk. The cookies are made using high-quality ingredients such as free-range eggs, real NZ butter, premium Dutch cocoa, and Whittakers chocolate. Founded by Deanna Yang at just 21 years old, this dessert bar has its roots as a food truck in Wellington and has now expanded to two locations in Auckland.
The cookies were very delicious. Moustache Milk & Cookie Bar is a paradise for cookie lovers, serving up freshly baked treats with a nostalgic twist. Their cookies are rich, chewy, and packed with flavor, with standouts like peanut butter, chocolate chunk, and Black Forest. Pair them with their signature milkshakes for the ultimate indulgence. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it a great spot for a sweet treat. Whether you're grabbing a quick snack or treating yourself to a warm cookie skillet, Moustache never disappoints!

Remuera store not good. Server wouldn’t look me in the eye? 🤣 weird. Also came at 11am and the cookie pies tasted quite old, similar to how subway cookies taste (which are good but also 1/5th the price). 3 stars as Sylvia is always good & fresh.
Sydney — Google review
This institution is well decorated and publicly appealing. But that is all a scam when you get to ordering and find that it is a discriminatory establishment. My very good friend who was hungry ( still is actually) is a celiac. She cannot eat gluten and they did not have any gluten free cookies only ONE gluten free cookie pie. Which was also a scam. If you are looking for an inclusive place to eat do NOT come here.
Sophie H — Google review
The name says it all, milk & cookie bar, a very good milk & cookie bar. The cookies are freshly made there and taste awesome - soft and moist. The milkshakes were amazing and tasted yum. They have a wide range of flavours and combinations but amazingly they also do vegan options. The prices are fair. You will not be disappointed. Grab a milk and cookie or just a shake. (Not sure I could finish a shake and a cookie, they were both big portions.) But they were all tasty. Definitely going back for more.
Rhayn J — Google review
Really bad service from a young lady today. I have waited about 10min for 4 customers to be served, and once my turn, I was told to not order a shake, or wait 15min to get it as “machine is empty”. My partner then took coffee from next place, and we have seen at least 3groups of people waiting as us to be turned away. Losing money for business, due to bad attitude and unwilling-less to work, is rare and not normal. Chatting with her friend, and turning customers away due to her being slow, and machine not ready is insane. Time of visit about 4:15pm.
Pelepelc — Google review
I was so excited to discover Moustache Milk & Cookie Bar returned to OBV since the cookie bus left. The new kiosk looks amazing and it’s visually captivating! Yuan Taste: Taiwan Traditional Cake 古早味蛋糕 is a Taiwanese cake shop with locations in Auckland CBD and Mount Albert. Their egg tarts, reminiscent of Portuguese custard style, are a nostalgic treat for those who grew up enjoying them for breakfast or as a snack. The generous size and delicious combination of egg, sugar, and custard make these tarts a satisfying meal on their own.

This store has excellent sponge cakes—we tried the Oreo and tiramisu flavours, and both were delicious without being too sweet. The lady serving us was absolutely lovely and even gave us a sample of the chocolate sponge, which was light and soft. The egg tarts looked fantastic as well, so we’ll definitely be back to try them next time. If you’re in the city, you should definitely check this place out!

This is my favorite egg tart shop in Auckland. The price is high, but the tarts are large and full of flavor. If you want to enjoy them fresh, I recommend visiting early in the morning! The price has gone up quite a bit, so I can’t have them often, but it’s a nice treat once in a while. If you buy four, they come in a box, making them great as a gift too. They also have delicious sponge cake, with the “original” being the best. However, I don’t recommend the slice cakes.
