Nature & Parks
Playground
Myers Park is a charming urban green space located in the city center, offering a modern playground and public artworks. The park features diverse trees such as Puriri and Moreton Bay Fig, creating a tranquil oasis between Karangahape Road and Mayoral Drive. It's an ideal spot for kids to play and run around. Additionally, the park provides easy access from various city locations and offers shady grassy areas for relaxation. Despite being surrounded by tall buildings, it maintains a peaceful atmosphere.
This playground is absolutely ideal for my little one, who is just a toddler. It offers a safe, engaging, and age-appropriate environment that allows young children to explore and play freely. One of the key highlights of this park is its location—it is set well away from busy roads, which gives parents peace of mind and creates a much safer space for children to roam. The park is also very family-friendly, with clean facilities and features that cater to a range of ages. It has quickly become a favorite spot for our family outings, and my toddler especially loves coming here. Among all the playgrounds we’ve visited in Auckland City, this one stands out as a top choice for both fun and safety.
Gina M — Google review
The green space is charming with a small area to actually be in the green space and otherwise large trees flanking both sides of an easy walking path. It has clean public restrooms and a drinking fountain. The playground is okay but I recommend a small toy with wheels to spark imagination. The ground is between old school playground and new "safer" ground. The equipment held my 9 year old attention for about 15 minutes. The cultural display is the gem of Meyers Park experience.
GRAMS — Google review
This park is mostly for families, children, and dog owners. There is a playground, s kindergarten, open grass space, some statues, and some benches here. The park is nice too walk through from end to end though. The palm trees make you feel a bit smaller.
Leonard — Google review
easy to access from CBD nice skytower n palm tree views water station & toilets equipped good to take a rest
Kerry H — Google review
Perfect park for the little one to get some wiggles out. Almost four year old loved the opportunity for open ended game development. Lots of obstacle course options, tons of running space, and play equipment for about every age. Highlights for her were the big swing and awesome hide and seek spaces.
Y. H — Google review
Very beautiful and attractive park Location: 72 Greys Avenue, Auckland Central, 1010 • It’s a narrow/gully-style park running roughly parallel to Queen Street, linking Queen Street, Greys Avenue, Karangahape Road, Aotea Square, etc. ⸻ History • The land was once part of a gully area with quite poor housing / slum conditions by the late 1800s. • Sir Arthur Myers gifted money (~£9,000) to Auckland City Council around 1913 for purchasing land and creating the park. He also funded the kindergarten & playground. • The park officially opened 28 January 1915. • The Myers Kindergarten building opened in 1916; designed with children in mind. It’s still in use (early childhood education) under the Auckland Kindergarten Association. ⸻ What’s There / Features & Attractions • Playground & Splash Pad: There’s a centrally located playground with creative / whimsical elements: slides, swings, oversized bird/insect sculptures, a giant basket swing, etc. • The splash pad operates from September through May, with daily hours during those months. • Vegetation & Trees: A mix of native and exotic trees. Highlights include Puriri trees, a large Morton Bay Fig, and an avenue of palm trees lining the main pathway. • Art / Installations / Upgrades: • Underpass improvements: new artwork (called Waimahara) inspired by the original Waihorotiu Stream, lighting & sound features, native plantings, better connections (stairs) from Mayoral Drive / Queen Street. • Wetland garden, boardwalk, more native trees have been added as part of recent renovations. • Other features: • The Myers Kindergarten building (historic) still functions as a childcare facility. • The park has many pathways/stairs, benches, shaded spots — good for walks, relaxing. ⸻ Practical Info • Hours: Open 24 hours. • Access: Multiple entrances: Queen Street, Karangahape Road (K’Road), Greys Avenue, Mayoral Drive. • Facilities: • Toilets (accessible ones) • Drinking fountains, seating • The playground & splash pad for children ⸻ Recent Upgrades & Changes • The underpass (northern end close to Queen St) was transformed to be more welcoming — with lighting, art work, better stair access. • Wetland garden & boardwalk added. • Native trees have been increased (part of re-greening / making the park more lush). ⸻ Pros & Things to Watch Out For Pros: • Very central — easy to drop by if you’re in the CBD. • Green space / refuge from busy city noise. • Great for families, kids. Playground is fun & imaginative. • Recent upgrades make certain parts more appealing, especially the underpass art, seating etc. Things to watch out for: • After dark the park can feel less safe in certain spots (as with many urban parks). Lighting improvements help, but being cautious is wise. • Shade over the playground is limited — can be hot summer days.
Malik S — Google review
Growing up, I always heard mixed things about walking through Myers Park — but after the recent updates, it feels completely different. It’s brighter, cleaner, and feels much safer now. Great to see the space being revitalized — it’s actually a really nice spot to stroll through again.
Jack M — Google review
An atmosphere of harmony and beauty reigned all around. Tall trees, covered in lush greenery, sang their gentle song, and rays of sunlight filtered through the foliage, creating intricate patterns on the ground. I walked along winding paths, enjoying the scent of flowers and the singing of birds.

Concerned that there are no water parks accessible to your young child? Look no further than Grey Lynn Paddling Pool, a shallow pool that is carefully supervised by lifeguards around the clock for added safety. At Grey Lynn, parents can breathe easy knowing that their children will not venture beyond the shallow end of the pool. This facility is ideal for toddlers and infants, with a playground tailored specifically for kids up to six years old.
Reasonably sized pool with sloping floor and sunshade overhead, lots of space around to set up towels and blankets etc. lifeguard on duty usually and there are some changing facilities too.
Olivia T — Google review
Don't waste your time coming here. This is the second Saturday in a row that we've tried to come here and the pool is closed. First they gave the excuse that they had to apply product and would only open in 2 hours (applying product on a Saturday in the summer!), today the new excuse is that the filter broke. They leave a person sitting there doing nothing. They have no organization or consideration whatsoever. Like most things here, it doesn't matter if you're organized, they dictate their own rules and you have to deal with it! Disgusting!
Juliana B — Google review
It is really very good for toddler and babys! The playground is perfect for kids until 6 years. There are space for bikes, skates and scooter. The pool is appropriate for toddles play safety.
Roberta L — Google review
During the summer, my young child enjoys the complimentary paddling pool immensely. It's spacious and never overcrowded, with a vigilant lifeguard always present. This facility offers all the essentials, with the paddling pool being particularly suitable for toddlers, complete with a shade sail and lifeguard. The only improvement would be the addition of shelter and more shading around the pool area.
Orest L — Google review
Really loved our visit here. This place has everything you need. The paddling pool is perfect for little ones worth a shade sail and life guard and max 0.75m depth. Only thing missing is some shelter and shade covering around the pool. Adjacent to the pool is a great playground, flying fox, courts and fields.
Anita M — Google review
The paddling pool is open during summer which is great! A very well organised playground
Leonard D — Google review
Loved it, safe for your child. Clean & enough places to rest when tired.

Toddler loves the free padding pool in the summer. Great size and never feels too full. There’s always an attentive lifeguard on duty.

Potters Park in Balmoral is a great place to go with the kids. There is a splash pad, playground, basketball court, mini bike tract, sculptures and band rotunda near Balmoral shops. This park is perfect for all ages and will have them having a lot of fun!
A fantastic spot in Mt Eden! The splash pad is perfect for kids on warm days, and the playground offers diverse equipment for all ages. Plenty of shade, picnic areas, and flat paths make it ideal for families. Highly recommend for a fun day out!

Discovering Potters park was a delightful surprise! Not only does it boast a variety of play equipment, but the abundance of play equipment ensures endless fun for the kids, just don't forget their togs! The shady trees and charming band rotunda add to the park's appeal, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely picnic lunch or dinner. Plus, its proximity to takeaways provides a convenient option for those who prefer not to bring their own food. Overall, it's a fantastic destination for families seeking both relaxation and recreation.

We recently visited Potters Park for Auckland Moon Festival. It was an awesome experience. The park is very spacious, have tracks for jogging, running and stuff. It's located at Dominion Road. A very good market with all types authentic food options like Indian, Asian and etc.

This is a delightful park which has more than just play equipment. It has a lot of water play equipment so make sure the kids bring their togs. It has nice shady trees and a band rotunda. A great place for a picnic lunch or dinner and close to takeaways if you don't feel like bringing your own.
Omkar U — Google review
I love this place. There is so much for kids to do. We can even bbq there and just have a day filled with lots of fun. This is a must do. Only bummer with this places is that we got a $60 parking fine. But I suppose we also had to look around and read some of the signs.
Francis B — Google review
My husband and I went to Potters Park for Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival on 29/9/2023. There were lots of people there and we enjoyed our time there. Our Prime Minister Christopher Luxon also attended the event and delivered a fantastic speech there to show his appreciation and admiration to all Chinese who have been working so hard in New Zealand. We are so thankful and grateful for having such a great Prime Minister here in New Zealand.

My family of three, which includes a 9 year old, loved this event on vacation!! Two hours was plenty to learn time be safe and try the rapids several times. Options were available for swim levels to drift downstream. Our guide, George, was amazing and persistent with the three children in our raft without being harsh. Video is purchased separately for your experiences. The changing area is large and clean.

Amazing experience for a birthday party for a bunch of teens. The guides were knowledgeable and so friendly and helpful. The kids had a blast. The caterer was also so friendly and accomodating. We booked a birthday raft and paddle board/kayak package. Amazing staff from start to finish and each and everyone of them went above and beyond!! Pizzas were absolutely stunning kids and adults loved it!! Remember to take ya spare clothes, a towel at min as they get so many visitors who don't take them!! Wetsuits were provided as it is winter right now as well as the safety gear like helmet and life jacket all fitted to the children! I can not remember our instructors name but he was absolutely amazing. He made my boys 10th birthday amazing and got him in the water when he had a little worry. Can't say it enough the team here is amazing and I can not wait to get on that water with them as soon as I can!! Thanks team!!

Beautiful big park and splash pad. Great for the kids. Not much shade but plenty of grass if you have your own. Massive skate park behind it. Public toilets and public bbq available. 1 large gazebo type area if you get in quick. Beautiful beach themed. Volleyball pit with heavy duty net. And nice spongey padding under most of the play areas. Would definitely recommend for an afternoon out with the kids.

Awesome splash pad with a great playground as well (more than whats in the photo). Not a lot of shade but new trees have been planted for the future. There's also a skate park, a court and public toilets. Kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves and didn't want to leave.

This leisure centre boasts both indoor and outdoor pools, including a dedicated learners' pool and a splash pad that promises endless enjoyment for children of all ages.
Sept 8th 2025. This review is for kiddy Indoor Pools. The pools are great. Temp is warm well temp. It was busy with students but not so much kiddy pools which was what I was there for. Plenty of space and had fountains that sprout different shapes as water falls with whale waterfall great for sensory. Different water hights also. Deepest adult thigh height , kids waist height roughly.

Basically it’s very good, friendly staff and longtime operations. One missing star is for a male staff usually wearing black leggings and sneakers, why? I found it happened a few times when he’s on duty, he says/does nothing when someone break the rules, like cross/ walk/ play in the swimming lanes instead of the fun lane. I can imagine how an unreliable staff will react if the emergency happens, that sucks. I recommend the management talk to him and give him a retraining.

Staff are super nice and friendly. 3 stars only because the toilets aren't very clean. Other than that great place for the kids.

Amazing experience! Our first time visiting this morning (myself and my toddler). My child had so much fun and enjoyed the dedicated children's pool area. The young lady at the reception was very friendly and has excellent customer service skills!!! Unfortunately as we left the pools to our car I noticed two cars on either side of me parked very very close and both had left dents on both sides of my car... I noticed the owners of both vehicles were from a church group held next to the pools. So I will park somewhere else next time. Apart from that our experience today was good. Thank you 😊

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Henderson, West Wave Pool and Leisure Centre is a beloved destination for families and thrill-seekers alike. Originally constructed for the 1990 Commonwealth Games, this aquatic haven boasts an array of facilities designed to cater to all ages. Visitors can enjoy a wave pool that simulates beach-like conditions, perfect for cooling off during hot summer days. The centre also features toddler pools, hydro slides for those seeking excitement, as well as relaxing spas and sauna options.
The adult spa pool here is impressively spacious, and both the spa water temperature and the sauna/steam room temperatures are just perfect. The staff are always friendly, attentive, and responsible. The swimming pool and men’s changing area are also very large and comfortable. My family and I come here at least three times a week, and we always have a great experience.

Kids love it when the hydro slide and waves are on. Unfortunately, the past 2 times we've been in the school holidays they've had staff shortages and both have been inoperable. We've also had to wait for an hour or more for entry. They seriously need to train more lifeguards. There are extra cafe and front desk staff just sitting around, which adds to customer's frustration. Train more lifeguards! There are so many local teenagers and students needing jobs, they could recruit more on a temporary basis.

Friendly and also free for special needs my youngest is autistic I don’t have to pay when accompanying him and if there’s a line you go straight to the front instead of waiting can you imagine waiting in line with a kid with special needs Awesome pools kind staff
Shannell D — Google review
It’s ok for bigger kids, however the main big pool is SO cold. Too cold for my 5 & 3yr olds unfortunately. We like the family spa pool! Watch out though as I had my towel poncho stolen recently :( such a shame we can’t trust to leave our things anymore. On a separate occasion we also had a really rude lady at the front desk who denied us entry after we had waited in line, we got to the desk & had been given wrist bands but because I had to run back to my car to get my purse (leaving my family there for 2 mins at the desk!) and she had let a whole bunch of people in while I was gone we then had to wait another 30 mins, then she wouldn’t speak to me and ignored me when I was asking why she didn’t wait 2 mins when we were half way through getting in!
Keri S — Google review
Great pool with plenty of life guards on duty and looking after of the people. Lots of variety of pools as well which cater for different liking, such as: wave pool, lazy river pool, toddler pool, family pool, main pool, as well as diving pool. Have plenty of facilities such as saunas and jet pools. Their changing room are great and plenty. Their swim teachers are very skilled and great with the children. My pre-schooler loves the pools as well as his teacher. The downside is their car park can be extremely full as it's shared with myriad activities and venues in the compound.

Overall not bad... however short staffing causes long Waiting times to enter. If your not there opening hrs, get ready to wait... unless the staffing issues get fixed
Leon C — Google review
Lovely way to spend an afternoon. Family and adults pools. The slide kept friends son busy while soaking in the pools. Steam room and sauna lovely. Good changing rooms options
Pamela M — Google review
Westwave pool and leisure centre is very popular over the weekends. Unfortunately it has suffered some damage since Cyclone Gabrielle. The main pool and dive pool are up and running and have just had new lighting installed prior to the storm. Parking can be difficult when there is a swim competition. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The gym has a lot of equipment and space

If you're looking for a vibrant spot to dive into some aquatic fun, the Mount Albert Aquatic Centre should definitely be on your radar. This lively facility is not just about swimming; it’s a bustling hub where you can engage in activities like underwater hockey and water polo, or simply enjoy family time in the exciting wave pool. The centre boasts an impressive 25-meter competition pool that doubles as a lane swimming area, alongside thrilling features such as hydroslides and dedicated spaces for toddlers.
Took my 10 year old nephew, we stayed for 2 hours!! Enjoyed the lazy river, the wave pool (for 3mins every 25 mins), went down the slide a few times, swam in the lap pool. Sauna isn't for under 17s but there is a warm pool that kids can go in, and a well heated toddler pool. Everything seemed clean. Showers were powerful but quite hot. The staff were good , doing their job. I think it's more suited to under 10s than teens. Didn't go to the Cafe but it looked good. Wasn't too busy for a Sunday morning. Parked on the road since there were spaces and unlimited parking at weekends. My only criticism is the lack of signage re jumping/ diving. My nephew jumped off the only available jumping place (between the 3 wall jets and the 2 alcoves) but bombed onto his butt! I saw others jump there too and it's just too shallow. Would have gone to rocket park and Roy Clements tree way if it wasn't raining since they are literally right there.
PIPPADOODLEDO — Google review
I do not recommend this place. You now need to pay extra to jump of the diving platform that is not even a diving board which opens and closes whenever it suits them? makes no sense. They do not even bother to mention this at reception when paying extra for slides. It nice to see they have finally updated the family changing rooms that were previously disgusting.
Bevan P — Google review
Great place and kids had tons of fun, for $8.40 for an adult (kids are free), it’s a cheap weekend and we lasted about 2 hours. The ‘wave’ generator was every half hour for 5 minutes which was a bit of fun. There’s a few negative reviews on changing rooms, they are fine. Place needs a little maintenance and some touch up paint, but it’s not worth overreacting with a bad review that has nothing to do with the actual swimming you’re there for.

First time here since I went to school here and my experience was not good😑 I regularly water walk at Henderson west wave but coz I was in the area, and had my gears in the car, I thought I could try here. I see the water walking sign so I know to do my thing. 20mins in, a young Asian woman who had a blue swim instructor top on with colorful hair threw a big square device into the water in the path of me water walking. Unbeknownst to me I was kinda taken back by the gesture. I had to walk over the device while it was fully submerged. I swam to her to ask her what was happening. She then replied 'we have swimming lessons at 12.15pm'. I said that it was rude of her for what she did, and not give me any kind of 'heads up' about the lessons. Had i known i would've got out sooner and fully complied. She cant say she didnt see me, im a big island woman, im hard to miss!!!! It put me off, so ended up going for a spa and left. Something as simple as communication could have been a saving factor for today. Instead she sat for the duration of my water walking on her phone.
Fua'o D — Google review
Their swimming school terms and conditions and not very clear and neither the staff at the swimming pool know them. I tried to cancel my daughter's lessons and they asked me to send them an email without mentioning that there is a 10 days cancellation period, which I understand. Then, when I sent the email, I didn't get a response at all so I decided to call them three days later and they mentioned the 10 days cancellation period so I sent the email straight away but then you have to fill out a form which they have to check and then the 10 days cancellation period start running. They make it really, really hard for you to cancel class and really easy for them to get extra money.
Evelyn G — Google review
We visited Mount Albert Pool the other day and left feeling pretty disappointed. The front desk staff didn’t come across as very welcoming or helpful. Inside, the spa wasn’t warm at all — we had to get out quickly because we were too cold. The slides now cost extra, but only some lifeguards were checking wristbands, which felt inconsistent. The women’s showers were another letdown. The water was so cold I could barely shower myself not to mention having to wash my children and there was hair pulled up from the drain and stuck up on the walls.
Alicja G — Google review
Love the idea of it but it's really dirty and a lot of times the toddler pool is broken or the showers don't work or there is just cold water. The staff is super nice but it's really always a bit of a gamble if you can use everything and definitely bring shoes to wear in the shower

Very clean pools and warm water during winter. Suitable for kids of all ages. They also have dedicated changing rooms for babies and toddlers. Easy parking with heaps of spaces. Entry fee is very cheap and free for kids who are under 12. Definitely a great place for swimming on the weekends.
Vi P — Google review
Though this is a great facility - the opening times of the splash pool are disappointing - they are different everyday and you need to either check the website or call before going to see what time it opens. Usually they open at 11:30 am to 2pm which is too late for toddlers which this pool mainly serves and is technically lunch time. A couple of times we arrived to find the lifeguards (young team members) still setting up the pool and removing the covers so though it was scheduled to open at 11:30am - the gates were not opened till 11:45am. Then there are instances where we needed to wait to get in the facility all together because was at capacity - when we got in it was no where near full. The way I see it - there are staffing issues - either understaffed or under performing. It seems like the more we pay (entry fees, rates) the less we get. Splash pool should be open 9am to 12pm - that suits toddler times much better. And please stick to a schedule and employee more lifeguards. This is a great facility but not serving all its community members well and as such is under utilised. Why invest in building a splash pool only for it to be open for 3.5 hours if that a day?
Su'ad B — Google review
Went there for a swim, sauna, and steam. Cost $10 per person. The swimming pool and spa facility are dirty... lots of puddles everywhere - best that you keep your flip-flops on! The water temperature and pressure in the shower room were inconsistent 🙄 The sauna and steam room were too small to handle people going in and out. It felt like I was squished in an animal cage. There are common locker and digital locker for hire. You can exchange the coin with a note, but you can't pay with your card 🙄 The staff was friendly. Thank you but no thank you. I will not come back here again.

Nestled on the stunning Whangaparaoa Peninsula, the Stanmore Bay Pool and Leisure Centre is a vibrant destination perfect for families and fitness enthusiasts alike. With its beach-themed outdoor splash pad just a stone's throw from Stanmore Bay Beach, it offers an exciting aquatic experience. The center features badminton courts, a well-equipped gym, and even hosts aqua classes and swimming lessons to cater to all ages.
Stanmore Bay Pool and Splash Pad is a fantastic place for families! The pool is clean and well-maintained, and the splash pad is so much fun for kids. There’s plenty of space to play and relax, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s a great spot to cool off and spend time with the family. Highly recommend!

We love our local pool, kids always have fun here, all the staff are lovely and the gym is well equipped too. The only negative is the sauna being turned down to a very low temp since their recent maintenance. It is nearly reaching 70 C. Sadly it's not efficient and certainly not hot enough for a sauna...if you have time to sit in it for ages, but the normal 15m is not going to do anything at this temperature ;(

I recently started coming to Stanmore Bay Leisure Centre after purchasing a gym membership. I absolutely LOVE the gym here, and look forward to going. The gym is clean, and staff are always friendly and incredibly helpful. I would 100% recommend getting a gym membership here, as it feels much more welcoming and like a community place than other local gyms.

They have for the 6th time misplaced or misbooked our booking- screwing over our whole evening. Taking zero accountability and not even tried to rectify the situation- but turned it onto us saying we misremembered the days which is incorrect and wrong. Make sure to do better, this has inconvenienced us on too many times and the fact that they don’t even apologise for their screw up and blaming the customer, honestly very disappointed.

Overall such a great family place to go. The temperatures of the pools are perfect. One indoor hot pool, and one big outdoor pool which is nice and warm. The slides could definitely use a bit of TLC, but super fun nonetheless. You can bring your own food. Hiring a BBQ is $25 for an hour. There are plenty of bbqs too. Lifeguards always on watch. Nice one Parakai Springs!

Friendly staff and well maintain facilities. Booked private spa which was great for autistic adults and they get discounts also which is bonus. Some reviews says it needs servicing or upgrades but to me as long as facilities are maintained and staff is doing there jobs I'll be bringing my kids back here again.

Have been 10 years ago for the first time and was shocked about the state of the place, very unhygienic, changing room wide open with naked people running around and drying hair on hand dryer, definately not good sight. Water in pools not clean, broken tiles and dirty pool outlets. Coffee place smelled the worst oily smell you sometimes get from really low grade fish and chips. Carpet on the floor acumulating mold and breading ground for fungi. Water slide tower looks completely dodgy, Rotten wood and looks like it is going to fall apart soon. Actual slides are dirty, moldy and have holes all around making water to drip further down on the whole construction. Not sure if place ever gets inspected, but looks major hazard/h&s issue. This was 10 years ago, went there recently and hasn't changed a bit. I do come from Europe and been to many thermal pools and never seen anything like this. On the other side kids did have fun and people enjoy it, just too bad it doesnt get renovated, would probably be best to completely demolish and build new one though
Galojze — Google review
Place needs some serious maintenance. Id like to see the safety reports on those slides yhe wood is rotting away nails sticking out walking up, and it was just filthy in general. The wait to order food was bad and it wasnt a busy day so my family left and went elsewhere. We also have all had upset stomach since leaving the pools which is concerning. Place is over priced considering how run down it is

hydro slides were quite a rush but felt safe enough for our young boys to enjoy as well.Kids enjoyed the obstacle course and the kids corner. It was busy but there was not a long wait at all to go down the slides which I thought was pretty convenient. Life guards were visible and friendly. Entrance fees are well worth it considering you have full access to the slides both pools and the kids corner. Totally recommend this place to families with children for a fun filled day out.

We hired out the Rock pool last weekend it was so great having a private area to ourselves - the kids loved every minute. Really nice staff, kind and helpful. LOTS of family and normal change rooms and plenty of loos. Awesome kids play pool area, a nice chilling pool and also had great options for some lanes and then pool lanes for those wanting to swim lengths at different speeds. Nice place to take the kids for a swim. The pool has a fun water feature with a kids’ slide, and there’s a small café for snacks. Lockers are available for just $2. Plenty of toilets and changing rooms. There’s also a rock climbing wall, spa, and sauna. The spa was packed with older people, so there wasn’t much space to sit.

The lane pool is very warm, It's about 31 degrees. People said it’s for their swim school. Maybe you can find a temperature balance between your swim school and public swim. 28-29 degrees is better. Look at other pools. Although they also have swim schools there, the temperature is not this ridiculous.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Best place to swim and get fit! Albany Pool and Leisure Centre is hands down the best place to learn swimming! The instructors are amazing – so kind, supportive, and skilled. A big shout-out to Ayela and Joe – you both are absolutely incredible and make every session fun and motivating. I love this place! It’s really helping me get fitter and feel more confident in the water. My husband and I visit daily, and it’s become our favorite part of the day. Highly recommend to anyone looking to swim, learn, and stay active in a positive environment!.

I've loved Albany since I was a kid, and ever since I transitioned to a... kid at heart, let's say, I've enjoyed it even more. There's so much to do, choosing between a lap pool, a four meter pool with a little rope-inflatable-balance challenge, a spa, a toddler area and a sauna. It doesn't cost much to get in but it will cost all of your time. The only bad thing I have to say (and I don't know much about lap pool etiquette, so this could be totally unjustified) is when me and my cousin were swimming and having a race, and whenever we stopped for more than ten seconds the staff on the side said we had to be moving the whole time... Yeah looking back now it's probably just my fault.

Awesome public pool, with heaps of toys and water games. Plenty of changing room for singles and families. For accompanying adults, it’s only $1 fee and kids enter free of charge. There is sauna e hot spa for adults. The huge climbing wall is the main attraction, you go up to 3 meters high and dive 3 meters deep! Great place to hide from the strong sun during these hot days.

Nestled in the heart of Auckland, the Tepid Baths is a historic aquatic center that has been delighting visitors for over a century. Refurbished in 2012, this charming facility boasts two inviting pools: the main pool stretches 25 meters and is kept at a comfortable 27°C, while the learner's pool offers a shallower depth at 32°C and spans 15 meters with easy ramp access for those needing assistance.
Very clean facility. Clean pools, toilets and bathroom are also spotless. Spa and sauna deal is pretty good on the dollars. There’s a gym upstairs too if you want to have a quick work out and chill the spa afterwards.
Vi P — Google review
Tepid Baths is a great facility overall, but the standard of cleanliness especially in the men’s toilets really needs improvement. The bathrooms don’t appear to be cleaned as thoroughly or as often as they should be, considering how many people use the space. I feel especially sorry for the kids who have to use them. General cleaning around the venue also seems to have slipped. For such a busy and well-used community facility, maintaining hygiene should be a higher priority. I hope this gets addressed soon, as the venue has a lot to offer otherwise.

The cleanest of the leisure centres I visited. Warm water for kids, renewed spa and sauna rooms. Plenty of changing rooms for family. The only con is there isn't any family bathroom, just one for wheelchair.

Been here twice and I dont regret anything. Warm pool on one side, sauna , steam, jacuzzi like thing and a bigger pool. Deepest end is about 2.1-2.7Metres. Not very sure of the exact dimensions. Costs is $6 for students one time or $7.8 for non-students. Good thing is spectators just pay $1 so family members who cant swim can still tag along. Has a gym upstairs too.

Its an amazing place. The best place from health point of view in New Zealand. I would like to thank Auckland Council for building such great place for the welfare of community. Very reasonably priced. Real value for money. My most favourite is High Pressure Jacuzzi inside, really unbeatable, not seen in any country I have worked and lived or roamed around the world. Marketing needs improvement. Not many guys knows this amazing place and the benefits it offers. AT can also look into the possibility of a bus stop next to it. The staff is amazingly pleasant and highly supportive.🙏

🏊‍♂️ Parnell Baths The Saltwater Tease 🧂💦 Rolled up to Judges Bay for a chill day and thought, “Why not check out Parnell Baths too?” Well… surprise, surprise the place is temporarily closed till November.. My first time here, already hyped about a saltwater pool experience, but nope… Had to settle with just staring at the gates like a kid locked out of Willy Wonka’s factory.. From the outside, the place looks huge,so I’m guessing when it’s open you’ll get everything from a proper swim to a good splash fight.. The only downside I can already tell... Parking. Limited spots =Hunger Games for a park... Anyway,I’ll be back in November, ready to float in that salty glory.. Hope they fix up whatever people complained about and open brand new.. Till then… see you soon Parnell Baths.. Don’t keep us thirsty swimmers waiting. 😅 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (for the hype, even if I couldn’t dip yet). “Logan was here… but the pool wasn’t.” 😅

Facilities are good and the pool is excellent. Lots of lifeguards who do their job rather than just standing around. However, the cafe was a massive let down. I waited 30minutes for an iced mocha at 11am. At first there was only one staff member visible who had to do coffee and hot food orders, so I can understand there being a bit of a wait time. However then a second staff member came to help (I think she was actually lifeguard judging by what she was wearing by) who didn’t really help at all. It was obvious she didn’t know how to work a coffee machine, and if she did, not very well. A further two staff members arrived and started to help get the coffees out. I am a student and use to work in hospitality so I am sympathetic and know how demanding it can be when you have lots of orders to do, but a 30min wait with 4 staff members helping is just insane. It wasn’t even peak time, so I don’t know how they would manage this situation during peak. Like I said, the rest of the facilities are good, but the cafe is a let down.

Lovely facilities here. We enjoyed two visits here recently. The pool is very big and ideal for swimmers. There is a great play area for children in the pool, they loved the inflatable. The area is well run with a very good amount of lifeguards. There is plenty of different seating areas, in the sun and shaded. Good changing facilities. Two lovely ladies run the food and drinks kiosk and there are some lovely cakes. There is a well stocked shop with swimming costumes etc. Reception staff are polite and friendly. Great all round. . Parking is very good close by.

The best part about this place is the adult spa pool. It is spacious and at good temperature. The largest part of the pool is deep (1.6-2.3m), so not suitable for learners. Only small part at 1.3m depth. The lido pool was closed during our visit. The cleanliness of the pool and changing should be improved. No door on the female shower rooms and no lockers.

Great day out for the kids - very clean nice friendly staff costs about $7 for adults kids under 16 free recommend you check it out it’s salt water 💦 so just be aware 👍🏽parking on judges bay road quite busy so you might want to park on Tāmaki Drive and walk across the bridge
Tusa M — Google review
It's a great swimming pool! It's free for kids under 16. It's an Olympic pool size. It's a salted pool with moderate temperatures. The deepest end is 2.4m. life guards are not available at the deep ends so you gotta make sure you know how to swim well. There's a small restaurant that's not worth buying food from since it's overpriced. The pool is not clean but it's safer than the ocean since there are no sharks/animals in it, but I guarantee you it has some human fluids in it 😣. I saw a kid throwing up in there and all they did was cleaning that spot lol.

Nestled in Auckland, the Otahuhu Pool and Leisure Centre is a fantastic destination for families seeking fun and fitness. This vibrant facility boasts an array of swimming options, including a 25-meter lane pool, a dedicated toddlers' area, and even a leisure pool complete with a spa. Kids will love the new splash pad and bombing zone that complement the family-friendly amenities like small water slides.
Such an awesome place right in the heart of Ōtāhuhu! The whole facility is super clean and well looked after. The staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome every time you’re there. There’s heaps to do for all ages — from swimming and fitness classes to activities for the kids. It’s also a great spot for birthday parties — plenty of space and really well set up. Overall, just a great community spot that’s perfect for families. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Yesterday was our 1st time here, for PASG play, picnic, pool day 🙏🙏🙏. Wow 1 stop shop for your leisure activities, we play at the courts baskets, hula hoops, bouncy castles. Then, had a picnic outside, there's a BBQ out there, and then had the pools all too ourselves 🥰🥰🥰. Toddler pool, walking pool, bombing pool, the pool with the slide and the spa pool was my favorite. Staff were all helpful, friendly and welcoming. Plenty of parking, disability toilets, disability friendly and the family changing rooms had enough room for us to shower and change. Excellent all round, thank you so much for a great day. Awesome facility ❤️❤️❤️

The best pool in South Auckland! They have so many amenities and its such a great environment for all ages. And it's always so nice and clean😍 They have a big pool complex including a indoor bomb pool and an outdoor splash pad, a swim school, a gym, a sports stadium, a library, a Cafe AND an outdoor playground/basketball court🤯 and the best part is that its FREE ENTRY🤯 my family have been coming here for years and we absolutely love the staff they are so friendly. Would definitely recommend this pool to anyone, such a positive family environment🥰

Honestly for otahuhu ima rate it a 5 lols. I mean compared to manurewa pools/papakura pools, otahuhu has a bombing pool, outdoor water park, slide, outdoor park, library, lots of seating areas and their cafe food is actually yummy (especially their toasted chicken wraps). The female cafe worker had beautiful customer service

I've being going to the Ōtāhuhu Pools and Leisure Centre since i was a little kid, and my experience is always positive. From the moment I walk in, the facilities is always clean. The staff at the front desk are incredibly welcoming and helpful, making sure I know what is available and answering all my questions with a smile. The pool area itself is fantastic. The main pool is spacious, well-maintained, and perfect for both casual swimmers and those looking to do some serious laps. What really stands out to me is the dedicated family area, which includes a shallow pool for young children with water fountains and small slides. It is clear the kids are always having a blast, and the lifeguards are always attentive and friendly, ensuring everyone stayed safe.

Great experience for the children. My 2yo niece and 4 yo son both really enjoy the amazing splash pad when its turned on. -1 star because when the pools where packed with 3+ parties and inside pools where crowded the team turned the splash pad off.

Akobi loves his 9.20am Saturday fledging class ! Amazing space for toddler lessons and super adorable! The instructor has a kind and sweet presence so the kids are always super engaged. We love how she welcomes the kids by name which makes it super special to witness ! Thanks Otahuhu team and Lillian, also the manager (female) was super helpful when I first booked the class.

This place has #CAB Services #pool #library #Desktops (Computers for web browsing) #Basketball court for kids (outdoor) #Play area Indore table tennis (indoor) #JP services yes but not sure for Saturdays as it’s written on the website that justice of Peace is available on Saturday from 9am to 12pm but we don’t find one and had to go to other place for our document attestation This place has really limited car parking so be prepared about it as it’s very busy on weekends becoz of pool and other great things at this place. This place is really good for all age groups people.

The Y Lagoon Pool and Leisure Centre is a fantastic destination for families looking to enjoy a day of fun in the sun. Located in Panmure, East Auckland, this venue boasts an inviting outdoor pool that opens for the summer season, alongside a year-round indoor pool. Kids will love the hydroslide, diving boards, and splash pad, while an adventure playground offers endless entertainment.
Love this place. Friendly staff. Clean. Lovely spa pool deep and hot. Go and enjoy a good swim.

It still felt tooooo cold to get inside the pool. But it was a quite well managed pool with lots of safe guards keeping kids off from dangerous situations.
이쑤비 — Google review
By far one of the best Pool & Leisure Centres in the whole of Auckland. Plenty of room in the outdoor pools for kids & families, with an abundance of space, shade covers, and picnic tables to set yourself up. Inside there are indoor pools available for those that desire a heated swim, fitness rooms, sauna, and a gym with good membership rates. The Y-Lagoon changing facilities are also excellent, putting other public pools to shame in terms of accessibility, cleanliness, and lack of vandalism. The only marginal downside is the lack of parking, as well as limited facility capacity. I would recommend getting in early during summer weekdays by 12pm, and on weekends by 9am to ensure you not only secure a carpark, but also a good spot inside/outside to set yourself up for the day. Overall a very enjoyable trip to the pools with the family, can't wait to come back! Cheers team, keep up the excellent work 👍🏾
Moananui H — Google review
Outdoor pool opening hours not clearly displayed on the website. Was disappointed to arrive at 9am and find the opening hours for the outdoor pools during the week are ridiculous, closes at 9am?fine, I’ll come back after work? I guess not as by the time I get there after I finish work it will have closed at 6:30pm? Laughable really during the summer! Be considerate for people who don’t wake up at the crack of dawn or who work until the early evening. Both pools are filthy anyway. In dire need of an upgrade.

Very disappointed on our first day power cut off no air condition during our first night neither has electric blanket ,I was freezing cold . The stuff was good.but to be fair we should get some money back for the first night since the kitchen area no power as well for our next morning

Went there this morning and only one lane available for swimming, slow, medium swimmers all in the same lane!! They should have told me that at reception when I asked them! Staff also need to have a hard look at themselves, your face will not crack if you smile……. try that.
Chris A — Google review
Went today and witnessed one of the employees yell so hard in the faces of kids I thought she was going to hit them, they had just arrived and she came wobbling in yelling and waving her arms around. Talked to “management” and she tried to justify it by saying “we had a hard summer” nah you need a hard look at staff.

My friends got me a Contrast therapy and massage for my birthday. It was a beautiful experience. The team is very kind and knowledgeable. The place is very nice and clean. The contrast therapy was challenging first but felt amazing! The massage was one of the beat massages I ever had! I got a complimentary kava drink for my birthday, I had that at the end, and stayed relaxing at their couches before leaving. It was a beautiful pampering experience! Will definitely be back to try the float!

This was such a great experience. The place had a calming environment, the room was nice, clean with great amenities. The floatation tank was comfortable. Liam was excellent, he explained everything clearly and was very knowledgeable. He gave great tips on making the experience worthwhile. Also offered me a cup of their kava before the experience, which I had never tried before. Will definitely come back in the future.

This was given to me as a gift on July 2021 but because covid we couldn't used it until now. I didn't know anything about flotation and for that reason I didn't know what to expect. I must say I was excited but with my expectations really low. Surprise, surprise.. it was wonderful. Thomas, at the reception, was really welcoming and friendly. He kindly explained to us the dynamic of the flotation session and answered all our questions. The time literally flew away! I bought an ultimate gift package to share the experience with my love ones. I would highly recommend this for anyone who want a bit of "me time". Spoil yourself! ❤️

Booked an appt via bookme, so paid in advance. Website advertises that they have car parks in front of the building. I called them at the time I was supposed to be in the appt to ask whether a client was about to leave and if there would be a car park free. They made clear that no, no one was leaving and instructed me to park where there were signs warning about being towed and where I’d be blocking in another customer. Nothing relaxing about going in wondering whether my car will be there when I get back or whether I’d be forced to get out halfway through to let another customer out. I hadn’t planned to park elsewhere as they made clear on their website that they have car parks available. Person I spoke to just repeated “um” before I solved the problem for them by cancelling my appt and forfeiting the money. What a relaxing experience.

Massey Park Pool in Papakura is a popular spot for families, offering a range of swimming pools including a wave pool, indoor and outdoor lane pools, spa, steam and sauna facilities, and an exciting hydroslide. The pool also features water attractions like a fun pool and lazy river. Visitors can enjoy the clean and spacious facilities with great showers and changing rooms. While some have praised the friendly staff and excellent customer service, others have suggested improvements such as adding better slides.
Great facility, great staff. Indoor and outdoor pools. Slide, kids pools, wave pool, lane pools, aqua run, sauna, spa and steam room. Clean facilities and have food and drinks available to. Close to Papakura shopping center.

The person on the counter doesn’t seem to welcoming for the new joiners. Very rude and unfriendly. The only thing she did was like a robot and said everything is online and we don’t have any pamphlets. Seems like they lack customer service or the person is being judgemental. No eye contacts when communicating information. The prices are high too. Please go if you want to get humiliated. None of the staff there seem happy and the overall impression of the place is not great!! Seen much better pools and people and their customer service.

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE & POOLS! Better going somewhere else where people are nice. Tried to go there today and the lady at reception was rude and unfriendly. Pools look dirty too. Please train your staff about good customer service.

Not too bad a pool. Great for the kids. Has a wave pool, a hydro slide, showers, kids lessons, lap pool, lazy pool, sauna, steam room and spa. There are no diving pools. From time to time, they let you jump off the deep section which is really cool of them. Staff are great and friendly. Awesome bunch of people Pricing is reasonable. Changing rooms are pretty good. Over all not a bad place to go! Lots of choice. Downside is when it gets busy, it gets very very busy and can get cramped quite quickly

The Myers Park Playground in Auckland is a great place to take your kids for some fun. There are lots of things to play on, including a climbing frame, swings, and a small splashpad in summer. The playground is never too busy, and it's close cheap parking at the aotea car park.
Nice place, big playground for kids.
Trilochan P — Google review
My first time coming here and driving here through the Queen Street entrance. It can be easily missed as you don't see the park from the road or entrance - just a weird looking old building. No noticeable council signage - but drive down past the building and you will see it. Great Things: *Plenty of shady spots and park benches. *Drink fountain directly opposite the park *Auto toilets w a timer *Walking access and stairways leading into and out of the park *Surrounded by CBD buildings so not a huge amount of noise. *Well maintained modern park and bins - preschoolers upwards (swings, slides and climbing frames) * CCTV cameras surround the park Not so great: *Evidence that it is an inner city park - graffiti on signage and I wouldn't recommend it in the evening. * Parking is limited so best on a Sunday and you should have no issues. *A lot of construction at one end of the park (slowly disappearing green space 🙁) *No ample shade/Cover from the sun over 85% of the park. Lots of the concrete and slide surfaces WAY TO HOT in the summer to play. *A thoroughfare for students and residents living near by - so be vigilant. *Fantail menace - child got attacked a few times - took it right out of his mouth 😳 Otherwise a lovely oasis from the busyness of the city.
Tutiāna — Google review
Needs more shade on the playground as most of it is metal. Was quite hot due to the sun cooking most of the equipment. Great area. Only one thing stopped me putting 5 stars though , there was a drunk street performer that was washing himself at the drinking fountain and was swearing out loud (possibly that was the reason that half of the park was empty perhaps). That's not an area these things should occur. Anywho, my 2 cents.
Nion N — Google review
I came here to practice going on the wave scooter and its a really nice park to ride the scooters since there is a long path that u can ride on. There's also a playground but it seems like there's young adults playing on it more often than kids (which is fine). Only downside is that since the park is situated on the lower ground, you might come across some dodgy people so beware :)

Such a cool oakce to take the kids for a couple of hours. We went about 5pm during the height of summer and it was still hottt! The water features are really cool and interactive. I like how they weren't just constantly running water and kids just splashing about. Our kids had to use their brains to figure out how to move the dials and lift the flaps etc to get the water to flow. There is plenty of shade under shade sails as well as a shades table and bbq area and right next to it there's a nice open grassy area perfwft to kick a ball around at. Well definitely head back here!
Claire C — Google review
Good facility but could have done with a bit more effort compared with others. Not nearly enough shade! No toilets is a REAL problem as children playing with water suddenly need to go wees 🙄
