The Gothic Revival stone building, completed in 1905, features magnificent vaulted ceilings and a beautiful interior. One unique experience offered at St Matthew-in-the-City is the Candlelight Music series held under its iconic high vaulted ceilings.
St Matthew-in-the-City is a stunning Anglican church in Auckland, built in 1905. Its grand exterior, featuring Gothic Revival architecture, makes it a striking landmark. The church is not only a place of worship but also a venue for concerts, events, and community gatherings. Inside, the high vaulted ceilings, intricate stained-glass windows, and beautifully carved wooden details create a peaceful and awe-inspiring atmosphere. The combination of historic charm and openness to modern inclusivity makes St Matthew-in-the-City a unique and welcoming place to visit. Definitely worth a visit if you have time.

🕍 St Matthew-in-the-City – A Slice of Heaven on Hobson Street They say you can’t find peace in the city… clearly, “they” never walked into this gem in Auckland CBD. Just off the chaos of Hobson Street traffic, sits this calm, cool, and holy beauty St Matthew’s Anglican Church. I wasn’t here for a wedding, Sunday mass or to repent (yet)… just cruised by on a weekday and thought, “let’s see what’s poppin’ inside.” And what I found? Silence. Serenity. And maybe a little divine signal boost I didn’t know I needed. ✨ Architectural Level: God Tier Massive gothic arches, stained glass like kaleidoscopes, and a roof that could make even a non-believer say "Amen, this place is stunning." 🧘 Vibe Check: Outside = honks, sirens, life stress. Inside = spiritual spa. Just peaceful, calm, and no one asking you to turn off your Bluetooth speaker. 📸 Tourist Friendly: Perfect for that “church in the city” type of photo. Like, one minute you're sipping bubble tea in Queen Street, next minute you're posting divine vibes with gothic pillars and Sky Tower lurking in the background. 🚗 Parking: Bit tight. Some spots beside the church, but your safest bet is the paid lot right next to it. Just pray you don’t get Auckland-parking-ticket-blessed. ⛪ Open Access: Wander in during the day—no security, no pressure, just an open door and good energy. Whether you’re here for Jesus, history, architecture or just a peaceful breather in your city walk, this one’s a sweet little stop. Even if you’re not religious, you’ll still walk out like, “damn… that felt holy.” 🙏 “Logan was here — no service, but full spiritual bars.”
Loga_KL — Google review
A real sanctuary in Auckland’s busy city centre and a top wedding destination for very good reasons. The Willis Organ is played on high festive days and completely changes the atmosphere like at Christmas or Easter. The chapel from early settlers shipping trips is also worth a look and don’t miss that little stone from Canterbury to say you‘ve been here. Give a gold coin donation or use the app or park at the garage next to the church to support this church and its congregation looking after it.

I went to a candle light concert, tribute to Hans Zimmer, and what a joy! The venue and the performance are outstanding, the only downside is that the sitting areas the same as a church which can making complicated to sit comfortably.

Second time at one of these events. We absolutely loved every moment. Such a special way to spend a romantic evening. Great view from the “A” seats. We will be back again. ❤️

Absolutely stunning church, a real piece of history in Auckland city. Has been cared and well looked after, just beautiful.
MJ W — Google review
It's a very old and beautiful historic Anglican church built in 1905. It is situated near Sky city in Hobson street. Church members greeted us as we walked into the building. We have attended the great concerts of St Matthews Chamber Orchestra playing Mozart which was awesome to sit and enjoy. Great stained glass windows. The most stunning feature of the church is the ceiling design with wooden roof giving it an antique look. Worth a visit if you are in the area. There is adjacent paid parking during business hours.

Presbyterian church
St Andrews Presbyterian Church, the oldest church building in Auckland's central city, was the first of its denomination to be constructed in the area. Its simple stone nave, completed in 1848, defied architectural trends of the time. The addition of a prominent portico and tower with classical columns in 1882 enhanced its unique design. The church welcomes people of all ages and is particularly suitable for families and the elderly.
Beautiful Architecture! Very worth a walk-by to admire, or pop in for a service if you are religious

Different worship teams every week, messages are thought provoking, people are welcoming. Different groups meet during the week, which helps in personal growth and interactions with others. Overall, it is a great church to attend.

Non-profit organization
St Paul's Church, located at the intersection of Symonds Street and Wellesley Street in Auckland, is a historically significant Anglican church with an unfinished Gothic Revival facade that has been a prominent local landmark for over a century. As the oldest congregation in Auckland city, it serves as a dedicated space for nurturing love and faith towards God.
I love the architecture of this church. The oldest church in Auckland which was relocated to Symonds street and rebuilt.

Beautiful church in the heart of the city. Kool venue for weddings etc. Mix of old architecture and modern upgrades including a coffee shop.

Attended a ball here. It was a great venue with a decent floor & ample space for the live band. Easy access & central location. There is limited street parking, but a parking building nearby.

During my very enjoyable 3 week holiday to NZ ( ending 4/12/23:) I visited two places of worship for Sunday services. One of them , at the unusual start time of 3pm was at St Paul's Auckland. Very quiet with plenty of excellent stained glass windows ... Good chat with minister Nathan afterwards as he'd been to Durham UK before , my home City( small world ! ) I had to laugh when the guest preacher was introduced as Silly at this , the earliest of the 3 eucharists they celebrate on a Sunday , ie 8am ! I looked at this lady and thought to myself, that's a bit harsh ! .... you look pretty sensible to me !! ... In truth she was called Sally , not Silly which begs the question... How do new Zealanders pronounce the word silly (as in daft ?!! )) Back to the actual service , the first Sunday in Advent. A beautifully conducted affair on 26/11/23 .That passed off quickly and seamlessly with all hymns being led by a most impressive young man who , not only had a strong voice , but a lively personality particularly during his marvellous rendition of ' Amazing Grace ' Please find enclosed a photo of the church . Unusually the church was set in a very much urban setting in Auckland ( North Island ) A very worthwhile visit undertaken on 26 November 2023. Thanks , Ellis Coxon. .

My wife, kids and I have been part of St Paul's for over 17 years. It felt like home the first time we stepped in the building, and has been home ever since. Together we continue to create a contemporary community of service, within our city's first church, within our 2,000 year old Christian faith. Everyone's welcome to join us. Nau mai haere mai.

Beautiful church, I did not get a chance to see the inside but from the outside it looks beautiful.

One of the oldest Anglican church in Auckland. The inside is very spacious and surprisingly very modern looking. The ornament on their main door was struck down, and hasn't been replaced yet; very unfortunately for the old building.

The church's stunning architecture makes it a notable landmark in Auckland's central business district.
Great venue. The church and interior is definately to see. Complimenting the great performance of the musicians. Parking very conviniant.

My friend and I had such a fun time during the concert! The quartet played really well! The experience was amazing overall.

What a truly wonderful event! It goes without saying that both the pianist and cellist were very talented. What might have been especially noteworthy is how passionate both artists were in the music they were playing. The venue is perfect, both in terms of ambiance and acoustics. If you have a chance to see this show, do so!!

The Auckland Baptist Tabernacle is a heritage-listed church located near the corner of Queen Street & Karangahape Road at tge edge of the Auckland Business District in Auckland, New Zealand. It was built Easter Monday 1884, was completed 12 May 1885 at a cost of £14,000 and is one of the oldest buildings in Auckland city. Thomas Spurgeon was the pastor of the church The prominent site at the top of Queen Street was secured at it was Initially intended that the Church would face Karangahape Road but the plans were revised so it was actually constructed with the main façade on Queen Street. This meant the portico was visible from the harbour. Although one of the biggest buildings to be constructed in the city at the time, it took only one year to build from 1884-85. As well as having very good acoustics its auditorium was also the largest room in the city, able to accommodate over 1500 people at the time.

Visited 6pm service while passing through Auckland. Great church, amazing facilities, family friendly and team are so kind and helpful. Worship and Message was 🔥
Naiyowmee — Google review
Cool church. A bit too big to be my home church, but I enjoy going there for vibes, and particularly for the worship. Their band is incredible, and I've had such an amazing time worshiping God there on many occasions over the years, usually at the evening service. Epic Youth is going strong too. When I was in high school it was very fun and less Jesus, but it feels like that's changed a lot since then. The message at 6pm is usually solid, although sometimes slightly on the prosperity side, with less of a focus on theology/Bible and more on application to your life. That's not a bad thing; depends on what you're into and the season you're in right now. The people are friendly, but you'll probably need to initiate a conversation because the church is too big for people to just notice that there's someone new. Overall though, it's a church I enjoy going to and particularly if you're visiting Auckland and you're looking for a church you'll enjoy going to then Life is definitely a solid choice.

i personally don't go to church and was invited by a friend to come attend the Easter service at Life South. I really really enjoyed the service! Loved the songs especially I thank God. I listen to it nearly everyday now!! I enjoyed listening to the pastor and it also enhanced with my spiritual self. I also attended the Central one and once again felt very welcomed and I could relate to what the pastor was saying.

My spirit is a lot stronger than most, I've been to an African church and it's the strongest I've ever felt the holy spirit, the spirit is in the life church, however no where as strong as in an African church, and because I had a Rocky past I was judged strongly by Manukau life church and central life church very judge mental!. Id hate to imagine how the life church would have treated Paul the apostle, a Christian killer turned evangelist , I was threatened by a little short guy who said im a pastor here, using his position to bully me, and he threatened me, so I left, I believe Paul the main pastor came Manukau church, and he new the head pastor was living in fear and I knew Paul, Paul's a genuine good man, the little guy from central went by his own understanding, he didn't seek the lord first and the pastor at Manukau wa up and down, I speak the truth in love 💕

It's described as a place of love without borders, where individuals can experience spiritual growth and connect with others in faith. I love the friendliest staff and the community how they help and support each other and how they are very understanding and they also keep your personal life private and confidential . I love that the service isn't long for me especially and how welcoming and warm they are .and they don't judge you by your skin colour etc .. they are very very friendly .so if your looking for a place that will accept you etc then come on in to this church there is no harm in trying what have you got to loose . If you don't like it and not comfortable then that's understandable we understand .everyone is different in their own way. But that's up too you and only if you want too it's your decision . Hope to see you there. god bless you 🙏🙏

Christmas light show is not as great as it used to be. I remember having "in the air tonight" play loudly, synchronized with the story telling and tremendous light show. The memory was forever etched in my mind. Currently, you can't hear the music well or even the words to the story despite the story being broadcasted on a radio channel, it's not the same atmosphere. It's too soft and you can only hear conversations of the crowds in queue.

Nestled in the charming suburb of Parnell, the Holy Trinity Cathedral serves as the mother church for the Anglican Diocese of Auckland. Its history dates back to 1843 when Bishop Selwyn acquired the land, but it wasn't until 1957 that construction began with its foundation stone. The cathedral showcases a stunning neo-Gothic design, with its Chancel completed in 1973 and featuring the Marsden Chapel for separate worship services.

Churches & Cathedrals
St Patrick's Cathedral, officially known as the Cathedral of St Patrick & St Joseph, stands as a magnificent testament to Auckland's rich Catholic heritage. Established in 1848 on land originally granted by the British Crown to New Zealand’s first Catholic Bishop, Jean Baptiste Pompallier, this stunning Gothic-style cathedral has undergone significant transformations over the years. From its humble beginnings as a small chapel, it evolved into a grand structure that now accommodates up to 700 worshippers.
This church is unique for its structure and the way it's been surrounded by giant buildings. I visited here for a mass offering on sunday evening. The church was almost full. The volunteers were friendly. This was my first visit to this church. We were a group of 3 just went to explore this place. The best thing in New Zealand is that people here are so lovely. The volunteers here were welcoming. The service was at 1630H and lasted for an hour. A beautiful piece of architecture.

Traditional and under ancient rules the town of Auckland had to build a cathedral in order to become a city. So it’s not really what you might expect from a large city like Auckland. Nevertheless the site is worth a visit and a stop as it is a sanctuary amongst the buzzing city business quarter. Well presented and with a few architectural and carpentry features one can rest and reflect in a welcoming atmosphere here. Donate a gold coin on your way out or come for mess on Sunday.

Great Mass with beautiful hymn singing and use of Latin in certain aspects of the Mass. Definitely the heart of the diocese although I wish the Bishop can regularly make himself available to parishioners here.

The Holy Trinity Cathedral in Parnell is a neo-Gothic cathedral that was built in 1973. It is currently the mother church of the Anglican Diocese of Auckland and is home to beautiful stained glass windows. The cathedral also regularly hosts concerts.
An absolute phenomenal concert and experience. We had an amazing time and wished it went on longer. The musicians were incredible and you could just see, feel, and hear their passion in each piece of music they performed. My autistic daughter had an awesome time and was just memorised by the music. It helps calm her, and decompress. Highly recommend the Fever Candlelight concerts.

Sublime, incredible stainedglass installation through out the Cathedral. The play of light is mesmerising. A sense of awe upon entering the building, it reveals it's wonderous glass art when you enter. The colour, light, amazing!!!! Everyone should pay a least one visit, you will not be disappointed. What ever denomination you follow or none at all it surpasses this. All art buffs will love. So much history a joy to wonder . Main window and several others by Nigel Brown. A modern take on the rich history, fauna and flora, people of Aotearoa.

An experience that can only be described as magical!!! The concert took place at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Auckland. It started on time (6:30pm) and was really well organized - there were assistants to guide us to our seats and we didn't wait long before the concert began. The cathedral was beautifully decorated with battery operated candles, laid out on the main stage and at the start of each row of seats. This definitely added a warm touch to the cathedral which has beautifully stained glass and high ceilings with stunning architecture! The concert was led by the Kulios, and was a tribute to Coldplay and Imagine Dragons.. each artist had us entranced by their talent and the instruments which they played beautifully! The audience was advised before the start of the concert, that all mobile devices were to be placed on silent, and that photos and videos will only be allowed when the last song is played. The audience definitely abided by this request and it was great to see the assistants keeping an eye out just in case any mobile devices were in use. The lead artist notified us of when the last song was going to be played, and it was at this point that all devices were out and in full use 😄 Once the concert ended, the audience were allowed to take photos and videos of the main stage and we certainly had a ball doing so! 🥹 I've rated the overall experience a 4/5: This is because the concert took place at a time when there was still light outdoors - the candles and it's ambience could not be fully experienced and immersed in, as daylight was shining through the cathedral doors which were all transparent glass. This was the only downside - I wish the concert could have been at a time when the sun was completely down, therefore the cathedral would have been dark enough to fully see the candles and experience it's ambience. Other than this, it was a great first time experience which I would highly recommend to others, just bearing in mind that the candles may not be fully experienced due to venue lighting and the time of your concert 👌🏻

St Stephen's Chapel is a significant part of the Church of England's history in New Zealand, as it was intended to be the site for the signing of the constitution of the United Church of England and Ireland in 1857. Designed by Frederick Thatcher, it replaced an earlier chapel that had collapsed in 1845. The tranquil and charming surroundings offer great views of the harbor, with park benches providing a peaceful place to sit and contemplate.

I have attended the traditional holy communion at St Stephen's chapel at 9am. It was good for my soul and body. The chapel is located on a hill so it is good for a small exercise but if you feel it is hard you can park on Stephen's ave or Judge st and find an easy way to be there.♡

St. Benedicts Church, located in the Newton area of Auckland, New Zealand, is a Category 2 Historic Place known for its Gothic-revival style. Designed by Francis Petre, it has been serving the community since the late 1800s and is named after St. Benedict, the founder of the Benedictine order of monks. The church offers a solemn and moving Easter Vigil experience and hosts Catholic services on Sunday mornings with free parking available nearby.
Stunning and spacious venue (we hired The Crypt) with brick walls, lots of space, tables and chairs, a huge kitchen and easy access bathrooms. Finding the entrance was the hardest part as it's not actually on St Benedicts Street (you have to go past the road to your left, then turn left further along the block, turning in between a white wall and red building).

It's known for its conservative values and welcoming atmosphere, often described as feeling like a family. The church is appreciated for not conforming to "woke" agendas and instead focusing on the positive aspects of life. With ample parking, modern facilities, and good audio-visual setup, it provides a comfortable environment for worship.

A church supposed to call home, but operated under worldly corporate style, when there is an issue, the main issue maker hide away but finding big, and bigger gun to kick them out from church without hearing stories from both side. So many people come with expectation and hope but for those years so many people left being hurt by people and the corporate style and cold environment. Holy Cross Catholic Church, often referred to as the Cathedral of South Auckland, is a cherished spiritual haven for its parishioners. Since its recent refurbishment, it has embraced a diverse community with thoughtful design elements that enhance the worship experience. While the exterior may not be striking, stepping inside reveals a serene atmosphere filled with beautiful art and murals that invite reflection and prayer. The church boasts comfortable padded kneelers and an excellent sound system, ensuring that every mass is both uplifting and accessible.
Very solemn celebration of the mass. The parish priest was so warm and friendly. Even bumped into him at Kmart and he was so funny and candid.

An excellent example of its church type. Nothing great to look at on the outside, but this irksome appearance can be forgiven once you enter the church and settle in.. Recently refurbished to cater to a larger multiethnic parishioner base tastefully and practically done. Padded kneelers available too. Great sound system. Well thought out lighting. Vehicle parking can be challenging - especially when arriving while previous attendees are still in process of leaving.

St Mary's Catholic Church, located in Parnell, has a rich history as it served as the Cathedral Church of the Anglican Diocese of Auckland until 1973. Designed by renowned architect Benjamin Mountfort, this wooden Gothic Revival church is a prime example of Victorian architectural style in New Zealand. The church was consecrated in 1898 and is considered Mountfort's final large-scale project.

BlueBoi, sorry to hear you missed Jesus. He signed my bible at the old church some 73 years ago when I first met him, but I know he is still in the new church. Go back and have another look. It could change your life. However read through your bible as he rarely signs them on the Front or back covers.

The church is well maintained and has been renovated with new carpets laid out, the sanctuary with new stones and centralised air conditioning installed. A crying room for babies and young kids is on the right side of the church. There are two masses on normal Sunday service, the early mass at 8:00 am and the second mass at 10:00 am. It can get crowded at the 10:00 am service so better come in early if you want to be seated.

St Thomas More is a Catholic Church in Glenfield, Auckland. The congregation musters more than 1000 parishioners at most Mass services. Leading the Parish is a young, most personable Filipino Priest - Fr. Alfredo Garcia - whose outspoken yet winning ways has grown the membership of St Thomas More significantly, since he was posted there in February 2015. His homilies (sermons) are taken not just from Scripture but from life as well and so his flock can readily apply each Sunday message to their own life. The church comprises many different ethnic groups, viz. the diversity of the religious traditions within the parish is apparent by the celebration of the Chaldean Mass each week. More specifically, you can find the following here: Iraqi Bible Study, Indonesian Bible Study, Korean Bible Study, Filipino community, Indian community, South African Community, Iraqi community, Korean community and the Tongan Community.

An unconventional round shaped church and a breath of fresh air, so to speak and very well designed and built. This present design followed the previous old church which also was somewhat otagonal in shape before the church was demolished and built on a higher ground so as to make way for the new motorway. I came back to pay a visit this former place of worship for me when I lived in this area 20 years ago. I went and found to my surprise, a new church totally built from the ground up. Fr. Benedict Francis is a fantastic, and welcoming caring priest of this parish and togethet with a great multi etchnic Catholic attendees would make this congregation wonderful.

I love GCC- it’s my home church. I haven’t been to many churches in Auckland but it’s not the only one I have been to. I love the atmosphere and the friendly people. It’s a big church, if you love making lots of friends you can easily do that, or you prefer to stay within a small group it’s also no problem at all. You can find a way suits yourself. There are activities all year around, you can contribute your time by volunteering or you can simply enjoy the activities. If you have kids, you can easily leave them in the Sunday school’s lovely helpers’ hands. Most kids don’t want to leave when their parents come to pick them up :) Basically there is place for you, no matter what age group you are and what races you are. Don’t miss checking it out yourself. No obligation at all.

I didn't really see too many people of my age & type, so not sure if this is the church for me, but I whole heartedly recomend visiting, even if you don't think it's your forever church. Eastview Community Centre treated me and many others very badly during covid, even though govt. regulations allowed me to attend. They were still completely unrepentant many months later when I finally left them, and if anything they seemed to have become more vicious in their discrimination. I have no doubt whatsoever that they would repeat their behaviour given the chance. If churches worldwide wonder why their congregations are shrinking, perhaps they should measure their Christian values against the way they treat people, especially their fellow Christians. The people & staff at the centre all caught covid anyway, regardless of their discrimination against innocent people and churchgoers. The whole episode saddens me. Reply to Eastview's response: It was the office that treated me badly. Eastview had multiple chances over a long time period to put things right but just became nastier every time until I left, thereby destroying a long standing and previously amicable working relationship. Vicious people who are only 'sorry' when their behavior is exposed - they certainly weren't 'sorry' at the time. I won't be back.

Accidentally I cracked the door of my lead-light china cabinet; the lead had stretched; the frosted glass unique. I had shopped around for quotes; went in and spoke with all 3; Sauvarins being my first quote, and last visit. The man I spoke with (can't recall his name) suggested an option straight off for the frosted glass; I didn't like that one so he was OK with my choice. I thought about it and decided to go with his choice; he also came across as being very genuine so I decided that Sauvarins will be my repairer and what a fantastic job done. It looks original but new .... if that makes sense. One cannot tell the damage prior to repair, and the frosted glass looks totally 'original'. I see that they hold classes in leadlighting, glass fusing, and casting - how cool - and tempting - is that! Recommend if you have a leadlight glass accident or want to refresh your current window(s), cabinet etc.

We inherited a front door that reminded me of a dentists practice with frosted glass and the address on the window. After years of lethargic dissatisfaction we took the plunge and decided on a coloured glass door. I was invited by some wonderful old friends who attend C 3 church at the TRUST STADIUM in west Auckland. It was a celebration of their 60 years of marriage! Having never attending a breakaway small Christian congregation I decided to attend! WELL, the reception I received and seeing all the friendly smiling people that had attended made me feel so welcome. The band and singing by the Pastors wife MEGAN was angelic. The Pastor was very easy to listen to and no wild gestures or frightening dialogue was incorporated! No pressure was made on me to return or give Tythe and I will be going back next SUNDAY! I would have no problem with recommending to my discerning friends and family to check this C3 church out, you will be impressed. Arthur C. CHARLTON west Auckland NZ

Been an active part of this community since 2007. Leadership have a genuine heart for Christ and a passion for reaching the lost. The presence of the holy spirit is regularly felt. Teaching is based out of the bible. I wouldn't be who I am today without this community and the discipleship culture. They are really like my brothers and sisters. Excited to raise my children here.

Beautiful place of worship. The people are so authentic. I've never felt so welcome at a church as I have at C3. What makes the people that attend C3 even more special, is they are just as awesome outside of Church from a Monday to Saturday. These people are real... most importantly they love God.

From the moment I first stepped foot into C3 Ellerslie I felt at home! A place that is so welcoming to all, filled with the presence of God, has a great vision to see the love and power of Jesus be known in our world. I have made so many significant friendships and became a part of a community of people who journey through life together and serve God! I love my church 🙌 💯

Incredibly warm and friendly. We were greeted numerous times and have never felt so welcome. Invited to ‘during the week’ events. Great facilities. Wonderful children’s church. So many babies/ children at the morning service. Our favourite first service @ a new church experience to date. How it should be. Radiated Jesus’ love.

Such a welcoming community, have been a part of this church since moving to Auckland from Sydney 10 years ago. Met my wife and lifelong friends that have been with us through the ups and downs of life. Come and visit, look forward to seeing you here soon!

C3 Ellerslie embraced me immediately and offered a sense of family and fellowship. This environment gave me a place to call home, where I felt valued, heard and supported. I highly recommend visiting here for those who want to realise, 'you do matter' and also to enjoy the great music as well. A fun and heart-felt experience, with great insights and teaching.

St Joseph Catholic Church in Grey Lynn, Auckland, is a stunning and spacious place of worship that holds significant historical value within the city's suburbs. The church features a beautifully designed chapel with impressive acoustics that enhance the choir's singing during services. While parking can be limited on the street, attending events like family funerals or Sunday Samoan mass at 10:30 am offers a heartfelt experience filled with cherished memories. The wooden pews provide a rustic charm, although they lack padding for comfort.
Good Samoan mass experience the way worship should be 10:30am service

Very limited parking or no parking as I parked out on the street. I attended a family funeral service a lovely big chapel. The pews or benches are wooden so no padding of any kind. Choir singing sounded amazing as the acoustics in the chapel was fantastic. Speaker sound system a bit dated as it cackled at times when pastor talking.

The churchgoers are unbelievably loud in the parking lot for hours at a time during Sunday and other mass times. I live in the residential building nearby and it’s crazy how loud and obnoxious everyone is during Sunday mornings and afternoons, I always get woken up by children screaming and adults speaking and laughing for hours on end. It’s Good Friday now and they’re still so obnoxiously noisy it’s impossible to sleep without some earplugs. The churchgoers here also held some free hotdogs event once and one of them so rudely stopped me in the middle of my walk home to try out their hotdogs! I just said thank you and I’m in a rush. And he kept pressing me on about it

Visiting the historic Wesley Bicentenary Hall is a low key adventure. You are welcome to sign in at the ground floor on the way to the office (metres away). Friendly and helpful Parish staff - with varying degrees of historical knowledge about the site's historical context. Many community organisations/services share the great Hall facility as 'private renters', so random in-depth visits are rationed/very limited. Extremely limited off street parking. Easy pedestrian access. Parking facilities nearby. Lift available to access upper stories/facilities.

Actually the photograph is of the Selwyn Library - very historic and attached to the private house of the bishop of Auckland and next door to Neligan House residence of the third bishop and now the diocesan offices. Hope you people are proud of yourselves. Because of you & all the pressure you put on the old owner of Parnell City lodge he passed on Saturday morning. He was a fantastic man & didn't deserve what you lot did to him...all for the sake of your greed. Pissed that you lot are the cause of his death, he was my landlord & became my friend. Your just evil nasty people.

For a so-called leader of the flock, he is deceitful and self-serving. When God calls his people to separate from the world, Jim does the opposite and allows the evil of the world into the church. Then he calls this evil, "good".

The Catholic Church of St John the Baptist is a small but welcoming congregation with a great priest. There is a spirit of community among parishioners which makes it a wonderful place to pray.
One of the seven Catholic Churches we visited during Holy Week 2023 nice and quiet place. Filipinos would always be part of Catholic family anywhere in New Zealand. Prominent chunk of the community. Love and proud to be Pinoy. They started the seven last words and everyone was attentive.

I think it is about time that this church at Parnell got a new make over .It is so boring , cold on cold days freezing in fact . A camper van park that ran it business like this church would have no customers .I get tired of camper van travellers that I referr to this particular church saying how boring and how unsocial it is .I spent most of my young life serving the church at least we had a chat and a meeting after the service ,at least we we talked to like adults not as some kind of donation carrying servants who came on Sunday morning and believe it or not they do not even acknowledge people who have died even long term customers no even long term organists . I get tired of my catholic customers feed back from this church .If they spend thousands on advertising for customers they should look after the ones that they have got .I rate this church as a zero .Please publish to the world .

Nestled in the heart of Auckland, the Auckland Unitarian Church is a charming historic structure dating back to the early 1900s. This inviting space exudes warmth and friendliness, making it feel more like a community gathering than a traditional church. With its absence of pews, visitors can enjoy an informal atmosphere that encourages connection among attendees. The church features a stunning organ and grand piano, often played by talented musicians during services that focus on non-theistic themes.
Relaxed and friendly people, wonderful new organ and piano music, played by talented young men, and a wonderful moving service on Death and Dying, with great food for thought led by two women.

This fine old building erected in the early 1900s has the atmosphere of a cosy place, more informal because the pews are gone. Fine organ and grand piano. Friendly but small congregation with non-theistic service. Building is not open during the week.

Visiting the Auckland Mormon Temple was a peaceful and uplifting experience. The temple's beautiful white exterior stands out against the surrounding greenery, and the interior exudes a calm and serene atmosphere with Aotearoa art influence. As soon as you step inside, you feel a sense of reverence and tranquility. The volunteers were welcoming and eager to share the history and significance of the temple, making the visit both educational and spiritual. It's a place of reflection and quiet contemplation, perfect for those looking for a peaceful escape in the heart of the city. Highly recommended for anyone interested in architecture, beautiful gardens or seeking a moment of peace.

What a beautiful building the artwork and the amazing baptism pool. Just stunning, no wonder they go there to commune with God. Had to see inside as when it is closed, only invited members of the congregation, will be able to go in, also if you get sealed or get married. However beautiful, I am not or will become a Mormon.

Not fun to get into the carpark and the road noise is not enjoyable if you want to stop and relax while sitting outside on the bench. Dear say it would be nice inside for those who go in for whatever they do. For anyone who wants to sit and think quietly on temple grounds the Hamilton Temple is much nicer and more relaxing than the Auckland temple grounds.
