Was initially shocked at the prices of their specialty cones but now that I’ve tasted the quality I think it would be worth the splurge if you were sharing. The service was amazing. The lady was very patient with me when I tried a few flavours. I treated myself to a large cup with 3 flavours as they were just soooo good!! The kumera (and orange?) one was the highlight. I recon it might just be the best ice cream I’ve ever had (I’ve had a lot haha) Will definitely be back!!! Staff was very helpful and friendly. Lots of flavours to choose from and you get to taste them before you commit. The gelato was tasty but on the sweeter side. The cone was unique, very crispy and had a nice warm, nutty, malty flavour. Very nice space to sit and chill with yummy desserts.

Delicious ice cream, served in cups or fanciful cones, along with a few bakery items, in a dedicated gluten-free facility, so perfect for people who have Celiac. The seating is tight, and pigeons hunt for scraps, but there are water spray bottles to ward off the pigeons if necessary (not an issue while we were there). A regular sized cup with two flavors was NZD $9.50 when we visited on a weekend in October 2025. The Waitemata (aka Britomart) Station is a couple of blocks away, so if you drive you might want to park in their car park, since there isn't much parking on the busy city street where the ice cream shop is located.

It’s great that they are a dedicated Gluten Free establishment. We didn’t know that going in and were very happy to get some baked goods along with the ice cream. It’s a bit pricey but was tasty. I wish the Hokey Pokey had a bit more crunchy bits but the mascarpone one was very good. So good I forgot to take a picture.

Giapo is an experience! They have wide variety of ice cream flavors. Its my first time in Auckland of course I had to get the World Famous Hokey Pokey. Guess what? It did not disappoint! Its world famous for a reason! If you’re unsure what to get, they’ll let you try any flavor, just ask! There were types of cones you can choose from which they make for you upon ordering. You just have to wait for at least 5 minutes (depends on the line of course). I got my hokey pokey ice cream partnered with a warm brookie ❤️ it was so good! Its something I’ll miss! Looking forward now to my next visit to Auckland!

I’m a regular here for my pecan butterscotch tub and I’m extremely frustrated and disappointed with Duck Island. I’ve encountered this situation twice where there’s literally no butterscotch at all in the tub. Please be generous with the butterscotch! I really didn’t expect a butterscotch ice cream without butterscotch! Please take note. Hopefully, Duck Island will do something about it. Thank you.

There is only an outdoor seating area. It serves the classic flavours as well as some interest exotic flavours. The ice cream have creamy stretchy textures and are quite sweet.

Came on a Friday evening, didn’t have to wait before getting served. There’s a large variety of flavours and sample tasting is available (metal spoon , environmentally friendly) - we tried the one scoop on cone (see photo for size), I like that you could choose 1-2 flavours. Seatings available outside/ outdoors.

One of the best ice creams you can have here. The flavours are awesome. Different than what you would get at other similar ice cream parlours. The best is the ice cream sandwich. Must try. There is outdoor seating area and it is great to sit outside with a cone in winters. The staff is helpful and courteous. We reached close to the closing time but they served is with smile on their face. Of street Parking is available but you will have to find it.

Great range of flavours, and you can get tasters before buying. The ability to buy a single scoop ice cream with two different flavoured half-scoops is fantastic - very generous with the ice cream, would definitely recommend a visit.

I have never had a bad flavour nor experience at Duck Island. The atmosphere is good, the service is friendly yet efficient. My go to flavours are Salted Caramel Cacao Crumb, Mango Passionfruit Sorbet, Apple Pie Custard (this is a winter flavour unfortunately), and Blood Orange Sorbet. My (suprisingly good) go to combo is Salted Caramel Cacao Crumb and Mango Passionfruit Sorbet :)

We found out way more expensive than other cafes in food selections on menu. Even if they've got the amazing view, seats were uncomfortable. Main menus were all okay. But I could see that waiters do not really know about the details of menu when I asked something. They were all super nice and kind apart from that.

Stunning spot right on the water edge which perfect for brunch. Busy during weekdays as well. Staff are friendly and attentive. Food is good and portion is just nice. Good hangout place with friends and family.

We arrived during a very busy lunch service. The tables were turning over quickly though. We only waited a minute for an inside table. We thought our drinks and food would be some time but it all came very quickly. We were both impressed with the food and service. It was quite noisy due to the whole place being packed.

We had a wonderful experience at Takapuna Beach Cafe, where we celebrated a family birthday. A number of us had the crumbed fish and we also had the scampi pasta, the Moreton Bay bugs and the oysters. The food was exceptional and so fresh and flavourful. A particular highlight was our waiter, who was very engaging and who demonstrated excellent knowledge of the wine list. He offered a thoughtful wine recommendation that suited our tastes, and our meal perfectly. Overall, Takapuna Beach Cafe is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for high-quality service, delicious food, excellent wine, and a lovely view. Highly recommended.

I visited in the morning. The eggs benedict was decent, but the daily special was surprisingly spicy and very flavorful. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but overall, I was satisfied.

Located in a convenient ferry terminal area, this place offers an interesting range of flavors and has friendly staff. There is nothing particularly special when compared to competitors, nor are there significant faults, making it rather average overall. It's something you might want to try without setting high expectations.

Went in to buy some gelato for but ended up leaving with nothing. Waiting in line to be served but it seems lines don’t matter as when we are receiving samples other customers came barging in to order. I was about to crash out but lucky my girlfriend pulled us out. Workers didn’t seem to have a care in the world.

The staff's attitude was utterly dreadful. They kept glaring at us with such hostility, and when we tried to make a purchase, they were downright rude. Even after I'd paid, they practically shoved me out the door. The two shop assistants were a fair-haired woman and another with two pigtails. In the end, I even caught the pigtailed one swearing at the other and giving us this disgusting look. Don't bother going there – it's bloody sucks

3 scoops are a very generous portion. Delicious 😋 Island Gelato is one of my favourite ice cream place in Auckland! It will not close until very late. I like walking here after dinner for desserts 🍨. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I think they always have new flavours!!! My current favourite is pistachio!!!

We had Little Lato as a delicious treat for our guests after our wedding ceremony! The communication with Hannah and Courtney was so easy. There were SO many delicious flavours to choose from. Our guests are still now, months later, raving about how delicious the gelato was! Would definitely recommend these guys for any event!

Perfect sweet treat for a hot sunny day! (Or any day really ;) I had the coconut gelato and plum sorbet. The plum was nice and tangy, can tell it's made with lots of fresh plums!

Very nice and fresh gelato! Quick service from the friendly staff, who were patient as we took a bit of time deciding on the many delicious flavours. Highly recommend the dark chocolate sorbet, not too strong as a flavour and so refreshing. The cold brew coffee from the beverage menu is also a nice afternoon drink. :)

Absolutely amazing all of it the service, the atmosphere and the food! I am from South Auckland and I travelled the distance just to try it and did not disappoint! Highly recommend the short bread cookies they crumble perfectly in your mouth. My favourite out of the 4 items I purchased was the cheesecake the whole thing was delicious. My husband and I will go back again and try the Banoffee pie and creme brûlée. Thank you

One of my favourite cafes in Auckland (this and the factory), especially their cakes. Never had a disappointment on whichever I chose. They had a few discounted products on the weekend that I visited. Happy with the taste and the comfortable atmosphere.

We went for a little drive to the city to end our dinner with some yummy dessert. I told my nieces to surprise me as we were celebrating my early birthday and they chose the tasting platter. I only ate two and took the rest home but my two faves were the lemon meringue tart and the banoffee. The girls all had ice cream and they loved it. Lovely way to end the night

I was so happy to find Miann as not many places are open late in the CBD when you are craving a sweet treat. The staff were very friendly even though it was quite busy when we went. They had a wide variety of beautiful looking desserts, ice cream and an amazing hot chocolate selection. We got the dark hot chocolate and the smores hot chocolate. They were both so tasty and rich which is what we wanted. The desserts all contained gelatine and so not many vegetarian options but other than that it was lovely.

This is a high end dessert place right easily assessable from the entrance of Britomart train station. I've tried the creme brulee and I must say, it is pretty nice. The serving size for it is good for the price, big enough to be shared between two people (but not too big that I can't have it all to myself). It has a very nice bougie atmosphere and the music thankfully isn't too loud.

I came here just to try their Hot Chocolate, having heard amazing things about it and I must say that it was one of, if not, the best cup of hot chocolate I’ve ever tried. The presentation was really cool and neat and the marshmallow on the side was a great addition. The flavour is super rich but not too sweet. The Chiapa (spiced hot chocolate) is definitely not for everyone, but it is still quite a good drink! The Strawberry matcha and s'mores hot chocolate drinks are also amazing and worth a try! (We didn’t end up getting any other snacks desserts, but their selection looked quite good and might be something I get next time with another glass of hot chocolate!)

Great experiencing ordering an ice cream cake for my niece on her birthday. It was very easy to request a custom colour for the designs on their website, and pickup was smooth and stress-free too. The cake itself tasted great, with a huge selection of Ben & Jerry’s flavours available. Keeps very well in the freezer too!

I ordered a customized ice cream cake with my daughter’s favorite ice cream and filling for her birthday. Not only was it super cute, but also delicious.Our guests enjoyed it and finished it all. Next time, I’d like to order a cake with a different design as well. Thank you.

I regularly order ice-cream cakes for all our family functions from Ben & Jerry's, Ponsonby. Their service is excellent and the order is executed well and it is always ready on time. Their cakes are simply delicious and outstanding reflecting true class and professionalism always. 5 stars! Highly recommended.

I visited the Ponsonby Ben & Jerry’s store at 9:30pm today (closing time is 10pm), but unfortunately had a disappointing experience. Despite standing at the counter for a few minutes, none of the staff acknowledged us. One staff member was mopping the floor while the other was cleaning the counter, but neither looked up or made any effort to greet us. There was also no “wet floor” sign visible, and the staff member mopping didn’t warn us — which is a basic safety concern. It wasn’t busy at all — in fact, we were the only customers in the store, and even the street outside was quiet. As locals, we know the area well and can say for sure that it was not a rush period. We completely understand it was close to closing time and staff may have been on a night shift, but completely ignoring customers shows a lack of professionalism and poor attitude. It genuinely felt like they didn’t care at all. To make it worse, when we left and politely said “thank you,” there was no response. The overall lack of acknowledgment and basic courtesy made us feel very unwelcome — definitely not what we expect from a brand like Ben & Jerry’s.

I have always loved coming to this shop, and my recent visit just confirmed why! The customer service is absolutely amazing, the manager handled my feedback with such optimism and care. The staff went out of her way to accommodate my dietary requirements, which I truly appreciated. It’s that kind of thoughtful and friendly service that keeps me coming back. We had cookies n cream, mango and salted caramel! Yum! Highly recommend!

Chill vibes and exceptionally cheerful staff. Always delightful to be greeted with smiles, and nothing brings joy like a generous serving of gelato. Reasonably priced with comfortable seating too Delicious flavours and kept well for a smooth texture, perfect companion on a late autumn/early winter afternoon. Did I mention the cheerful staff? There were these two young ladies in particular, always smiling, with one skipping around the shop spreading joy and doing hopscotches on her way in and out of the shop. Keep serving generous scoops and happy vibes! It's definitely the place to be all seasons!

Probably the first time having Gelato, have to say I prefer regular ice cream from NZ Natural or Mövenpick. Lovely Gelato shop in one of Auckland's best locations. I enjoyed the Afgogato, will definitely go back for another.

Ollies has that old-school vibe that’s hard to come by. While I've heard that it’s changed over time, it’s still made for a fun experience! I came here for the first time with some mates and had a great time. I got the Big Ollie burger, fries, a drink, and a cheese toasty. The burger was delicious; good-quality beef and all the vibes of a proper homemade burger. The cheese toasty was simple, stringy, and satisfying. We were so full from the food that we had to skip dessert unfortunately, but I will have to return to try their famous sundaes and ice creams next time!

I hadn't been here in a while however it still lived up to my expectations. I came for a quick lunch with family and the ice cream here was the best dessert. We ordered nuggets, hot chips, hash browns, and finished off with cookies and cream ice cream. I was glad to see that this place finally has a clean bathroom. The staff were really nice and patient, and there was plenty of street parking available.

I have been coming to Ollie's for 40 years and in the 40 years. I would have always given it a five stars. But today I was very disappointed getting our regular order of a giant banana split $17.90 and what we received is half the size of the banana split we would normally get. My daughter and I had one small spoon each. I told her to stop, as I wanted to take a photo. What a shame it has come to this. I asked the staff member as I was quite shocked. They've been told to downsize the portions. There's no way you can call that a giant banana split it is now just a regular banana split.

They offer a wide range of ice cream flavours, which made it hard to choose in a good way! The prices were reasonable too. I went with a single scoop in a waffle cone and chose Hokey Pokey, a classic New Zealand flavour. It had a smooth vanilla base with crunchy hokey pokey pieces throughout and it’s really delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful, which added to the overall great experience. Definitely worth a visit!

They are Reliable, they focus on what they do well and they serve quality product. Ollies is still an absolute stalwart in the Auckland scene, so therefore it is no wonder why the restaurants foundations have stood the test of time. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Love it havent had a proper banana split in years with different ice-cream to choose from to all the toppings available. Great service. Also there is a small games area available so you can sit relax and you enjoy a yummy treat while your little ones have fun. Overall highly recommend 👌

The girl making the ice cream rolls (forgot to ask her name!) was very sweet and she enthusiastically answered our many questions about the ice creams. Loved the oreo ice cream roll as well! Also, the sprinkles are free for everyone to add the way they like.

I've always wanted to try bubble waffles and rolled ice cream. This place is worth stopping by on K Road for the experience alone, plus the food and bubble tea are amazing. This place is brand new as it was not there six months ago but I'm glad I got to check it out before leaving auckland. It's nice for the warm and hot days in auckland but I hope they are able to stay open after the winter months as it may be harder to sell cold things when it is cold outside! 🥶 Definitely recommend checking them out if your in Auckland

Fabulous ice-cream parlour in K Road. The ice-cream is made while you wait and rolled into nice shapes. There is a huge range of flavours and you are free to mix and mingle whatever flavours that you fancy because it is made especially for you. This is now one of my favourite food places. I just have to watch my diet a bit 😂. I definitely recommend this place but don't all go when I want to go please because it will then be very crowded. Enjoy.

We had a fantastic experience. The woman who served us was super friendly and patient with all our questions and curiosities about the process and the choices. She was an artist with the food! My wife got a cone in which case the ice cream gets mixed and placed in the form of a single roll and I got the bubble waffle with multiple smaller rolls of ice cream. I also had bananas and toppings and it was amazing. The waffle flavor is so good and the bubbles add a fun crispy yet chewy texture to the bites. Delicious.

I have made a late comer discovery of Island Gelato. They have four outlets in Auckland city and inner suburbs and one on Waiheke Island. They hand make and sell a variety of flavours of gelato and non-dairy sorbet. They also make gelato cakes. I've only tried a few gelato flavours so far, and they've all been divinely decadent. I have a sweet tooth that is tempered by liking sweet and sour combinations such as lemon meringue. Over time, I've tried most, if not all, New Zealand based gelato manufacturers' products. I've certainly tasted all those available in Auckland. Take my word for it, Island Gelato is by far the best. The finest, creamiest, exquisitely flavoured gelato, with not a hint of grainy texture. They smash their opponents, including those who serve their products in fanciful shapes and coatings. My favourite so far? A cup with a scoop of Biscoff Tiramisu topped with a scoop of Salted Caramel with White Chocolate flakes (see the photo). Kudos also to the friendly and helpful guy who staffs the Ponsonby Road store. My idea of a small heaven is to sit outside on the pavement to enjoy gelato and people watching. Treat yourself!

First I visit with my friends at Gelato Co. Ponsoby. We have tried my ice cream parlors but this one I must say have a different vibe. Great ambience with outstanding taste. Excellent customer service. They have a lot of Ice cream as well as sorbet varieties.

I just LOVE Island Gelato Ponsonby! The flavours are phenomenal, and the presentation is to die for! Such high end ice cream. One thing - WHERE IS STRAWBERRY CASHEW CHEESECAKE!?? Many would agree it is by far the best flavour on your menu and all of a sudden it VANISHES ! I would love for it to come back. I must add - the customer service from a young worker called Chloe was just lovely. She truly epitomizes service with a smile, was so friendly, patient, helpful and just did a fabulous job. Thanks Chloe! :)

A great treat after lunch in a busy day! One of my favourite is Pic’s Peanut Butter and Caramel and rich chocolate is awesome too; super creamy, luscious and not overly sweet and not to forget the best shard of nutty brittle on top. Their waffle cones are golden, crispy and just perfect. The best thing is you don't need to pay extra money for the cone.

The two girls tonight had great energy and made me feel very welcomed in the store, were very polite and helpful with picking flavors. The gelato was also delicious will definitely be coming back.

Saturday afternoon treat. Greater with a friendly smile and lots of delicious goodies. It was not busy when I got there however floods of people would come and go while I was enjoying my sweet treats. The staff member was lovely and offered samples on arrival, said about sizes and what's popular. In terms of flavours I can't fault anything the vegan and dairy ice creams were all amazing. Highly recommend popping in for treats on the run or a sit down with a coffee.

I ordered Pistachio and banana. They both were delicious 😋. The girl, Kate who was serving the customers was really nice and polite. For Gelato lovers, you can try as many flavors as you like before actually buying. I tried three and bought two scoops of different flavors. Nice and clean environment. Would definitely recommend.

Taste was okay but nothing to rave about. Pistachio flavour actually quite sugary and there were ice crystals for some reason, maybe the tub just came out the freezer. Cones are stock standard and not fresh made in-house like other boutique shops.

Our family loves coming here for the best gelato in central Auckland. It’s such a cosy wee spot and we love the flavours that Juan develops. My husband has developed a gelato obsession thanks to Pistackio! The owners are very lovely too. It’s just a great place to come to, highly recommend! Unfortunately I never manage to get a photo of our gelato…(who has time to take a photo when it’s so delicious?), but did get a snap of the beautiful decor!

Visiting from America and found this local spot- absolutely loved it! Staff were so friendly and let us have multiple samples and were very engaging and welcoming. The gelato was fantastic. The dark chocolate mousse was rich and chocolatey, also sampled their award winning banana Dulce de leche and it was so creamy and flavorful. I’m sad we won’t be in the area to try more of their creations. Highly recommend to make a stop here!

Wow is the best way to describe my first experience here. I tried the cannoli and tiramisu. Extremely tasty and the cannoli was extremely unique. The venue is very cool, minimal seating however. Staff is quite friendly and helpful. I have a list of things to try next time. Coffee was ok. If you're in need of a caffeine fix, Pistackio may not be the best pick. Try some tiramisu instead, it's got coffee in it ;)

The warabi mochi came with sufficient kuromitsu and a scant amount of kinako. Furthermore, it came on a long, shallow dish wih a spoon, very difficult to eat. Bowl or fork please. Just a weird combination of plating/utensil. My wife got shiratama, with similar presentation. Upon eating, the shiratama was hard and dry on the inside. The quality for both sweets does not reflect the price. I lived in Japan for five years and my wife is Japanese, I'd like to think we know what we're talking about. We were so excited to try this on our first time to Auckland city, and the reality did not live up to our expectations. Japanese cuisine is middling in most of the country, and thought Auckland to be our best bet for quality Japanese food. We are, however, both of the opinion it was a bad representation of Japanese sweets, especially considering the legacy of Tsujiri in Kyoto. My wife also commented the frozen mitarashi dango she ate the other day was better, and I would have to agree. On a good note, the iced matcha latte was passable for me, hence the 2 stars. Up your game, please.

I loved Tsujiri so much! The young girl at the counter was helpful and polite! Lovely clean bathroom and ample seating, and my food arrived within 5-10 minutes. I had a matcha milk float and a matcha swiss roll and it was absolutely perfect. By far the best matcha I have ever had!! I would totally recommend going here for a quick stop in for food, a cute lil date or anything really!! Beautiful interior too.

Last time we came here and ordered clear matcha(great) and warabi mochi (which was not good). This time we order matcha parfait and is really good though

THE SERVICE WAS LIFE CHANGING I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A RESTAURANT NEARLY AD GOOD AS THIS. EVERYONE NEEDS TO COME HERE NOWWWW. Anyways, the shaved ice tasted great with a good balance of matcha and houjicha though the houjicha did taste quite sweet. The warabi mochi coated in matcha gave it a good contrast with the shaved ice. Red bean was also very good, not too sweet and goes really well with the flavours!

I love Tsujiri... a matcha heaven! I used to visit their shop in Queenstown, unfortunately it closed down now. They have two shops here in Auckland... at Lorne St and Newmarket. Everything is a treat here, for those who love matcha!

Jan 2024. This is one of the best matcha soft serve places. It's absolutely delicious. And the black sesame is good too. The service was just ok. The attention to detail was lacking from the girl who served me, as she mixed all the flavours.

Ordered two cheesecakes through Uber eats. Strawberry and snickers. What arrived could not have been more of a let down. Bearing absolutely no resemblance to what was advertised on the app. Really wanted to support local business but very unimpressed. Would not recommend. False advertising this blatant is unacceptable

I didn't know this store existed until a friend suggested we go. The line was pretty long (which was a good sign) and moved pretty quickly. There were way too many flavours I wanted to try, but luckily even one scoop gets you two of them, so I did that. The ice cream itself was awesome and the prices were much better than other, nearby, places. I will definitely be returning in the future.Thank you. the gelato work shop see you soon ☺️🤞🎉

I was surprised how busy it was on Monday night after 9pm. Had a Sundae and realized why are they so busy 😄. Really amazing flavors we had a salted caramel and peanut butter cookie dough. Stellar selection of Vegan and Dairy Free/Gluten Free ice creams. The Vanilla Passionfruit, Blood Orange Sorbet.the prices were much better than other, nearby, places. I will definitely be returning in the future!

I came to Scrunch Millers Ice Cream in Milford after seeing all the positive reviews. I ordered a strawberry and raspberry real fruit ice cream, and it was absolutely delicious. The ratio was perfect, the fruit tasted fresh, and it wasn’t too sweet. After ordering, I was also given samples of the Biscoff and Cookies & Cream flavours, which were both amazing. It really shows that the owner cares about his customers and takes pride in what he makes. Honestly, one of the best ice cream spots on the Shore, if not all of Auckland. This is a local business well worth supporting.

Nothing short of outstanding! Hayley was absolutely fantastic! Ordered a birthday ice cream cake on a short timeline, and Hayley was unbelievably timely, anccommodating and professional in her response and delivery — made it all so easy and stress free. The final product looked and tasted spectacular! Would give 6 out of 5 stars if possible — highly recommend!!

Each time I’ve visited Scrunchy Millers, I enjoy trying some new flavours! It’s the perfect place to stop by after dinner/lunch. They serve a wide range of flavours and types of desserts, including real fruit ice cream! The staff are very friendly, and their prices are competitive compared to other frozen dessert chains. Worth many visits!

Grade A (thought I took a photo) 10 out of 10. Nice to know there’s a real fruit ice cream available out North Shore after hours. Ordered Banana split for my son and I $13.50 (see photos) and a kiddies single scoop ice cream with sprinkles for my 5 yr old $3 (daughter demolished most of it before I remembered to get a photo) Cost us $17.50. It was a long line out the door onto the foot path but their service is super quick. DO NOT PARK IN THE PARKING LOT or you will get a $65 parking ticket. There is about 6 parking spots around the corner that belongs to Scrunchy millers or you can just find else where and walk.

Just had Carrot cake this afternoon, it’s quite special and delicious. I didn’t expect that cause usually this favor is too sweet for my liking. But this one nailed., also highly recommend Ferrero Rocher !

The real fruit ice cream here is fantastic! I went with my partner after dinner and found their signature real fruit ice cream to be genuinely delicious. I ordered Strawberry flavour. Watching the elegant and brilliant steps involved in making this ice cream was impressive. The owner takes great pride in this ice cream, and it’s well-deserved. My partner ordered a winter special warm chocolate brownie (new menu!) with a vanilla base, which was also remarkably delicious. This place is excellent and highly recommended!

Perfect dessert place to go for any occasion, especially in winter! ;) Lots of nice flavours available, they even let you try two flavours at the same time - saving them waste and helping you to make your decision. Great service and hospitality, nice atmosphere!

We visited Movenpick Princess Wharf on Christmas Day 2024, and it was one of the few places open in the area. We appreciated having somewhere to stop for a treat during the holiday, but there were some aspects of the experience that could be improved. First, we noticed a sign on the front door informing customers of a 15% holiday surcharge. While we understand this is common for businesses operating on public holidays, we felt the extra charge could have been better reflected in the overall service and cleanliness. The ice cream itself was good and met our expectations for the quality we associate with Movenpick. The flavors were rich and creamy, and we enjoyed the selection available. However, the experience in the lobby left something to be desired. Despite being fairly busy with other customers, there were only two staff members visible, one at the counter and another assisting with orders. Both were working hard, but it was clear they were stretched thin. The seating area in the lobby, unfortunately, was not well-maintained. We noticed several tables with empty ice cream cups and napkins left behind by previous customers. It seemed like no one had the chance to clean up, and this detracted from the overall atmosphere. If a 15% surcharge is being applied, perhaps hiring an additional staff member to manage the lobby and ensure a cleaner environment would make the experience more enjoyable for everyone. Overall, our visit was fine, and the ice cream itself didn’t disappoint. However, we hope to see some improvements in staffing and cleanliness on our next visit. With such a prime location on Princess Wharf and Movenpick’s reputation, a bit more attention to detail could easily elevate the experience.

The ice cream was delicious and the staff were great, however I was quite suprised at the portion size. It’s definitely not your standard NZ single scoop ice cream portion and it was $11.90. Not good value for money.

Their famous chocolate ice cream was decent—while not the richest, it had small bits of chocolate mixed throughout, adding an extra layer of indulgence. The waffle cone, on the other hand, was nicely thin and crispy & had just the right level of crunch.

All ice cream here are halal unless stated otherwise. We ordered affogato w caramelita ice cream, hot choc and ice cream cups. Service was excellent. Staff was helpful n friendly.❤️

Today I had a lovely breakfast at Cereal Killa Cafe I was really happy to be selected as the first person to be able to come in and try their new amazing menu! The first dish I tried was the Big Breakfast which I loved! It had thick pieces of bread with perfectly poached eggs which was a fantastic way to start the day! Next up I had the Chicken Salad to try get that healthy balance. I really enjoyed the flavour from the chicken and the salad dressing. I would definitely order this again! For dessert I went a little crazy and got their new Chocolate Shake which was INSANELY GOOD! The Coco Pops added great texture and reminded me of my childhood. If you are looking for a sweet treat Cereal Killa Freak Shakes are a must!! As always I really enjoyed my experience at Cereal Killa Cafe as everyone is so friendly and the vibe is really cool. It was also nice talking to the owner Harry as he explained their goals of providing fresh meals made with healthier ingredients. This makes the cafe perfect for any day of the week as you can decide between delicious healthy meals or on your cheat days be a little naughty and get an incredible freak shake!

That was awesome! The place is very unassuming, just squashed in next to a row of shops, and easy to miss. But what an awesome little place! They serve breakfasts starting at $7.50 and lunch. And of course some of the most amazing shakes! Only surpassed by their totally delicious coffee. The gentleman serving the counter is super friendly, and very attentive I will definitely come back again

I think this place is overrated from the tiktok videos. The chair was a bit dirty. Staff are friendly but not much attentive. We ordered chocolate mint shake. I was disappointed on the taste of it. The mint taste is not refreshing and there is a bit of after taste maybe the flavor that they use. I like the idea of putting ice cream on top. The sugar candy doesn’t really complement the drink.

I had previously taken my eldest to Cereal Killa and was very impressed. Today we returned for the legendary shakes and I am sad to say we’re bitterly disappointed. It took just shy of an hour to get 2 shakes and when they arrived they were nothing like described. For $35 for 2 shakes I expected a lot more. It was a vanilla shake with cream, a couple of lollies and a small amount of candy floss on top. I tried to make contact without leaving a negative review but when I called the premises asking to talk or for an email to contact, I was told “oh I’m new” as hung up on me. We will not be returning or recommending.

This small coffee shop made our day this rainy morning. It wasn't our first choice of meeting not i have never visited this before. We were utterly disappointed from near by St Heliers Bay Bistro staff dismissive behavior this morning and just come to grab coffee from here but what a pleasant surprise the way staff dealt with my Asian colleague and my son. small place but full of respect, engagement and have even place for of water for pet. I can see how people are coming in and having a nice morning chat , coffee and small break. Thank you to all staff , great coffer taste and amazing morning break place

Got ice cream here today as we’re visiting from out of town and the quality & service was fantastic! I especially enjoyed the Belgian Chocolate, but all of us enjoyed our flavors, and the young woman who helped us was so nice.

Very friendly little coffee and ice cream shop. The two women seemed more than happy to let our group sample as many different flavours as needed to help make a good choice, and in the end I went with Triple Vanilla bc it really lived up to its name and wasn't some bland flavour. All of their flavours felt more fresh and refreshing than like the thick chocolate and caramel sweet bombs you might get elsewhere. The only other thing I wanted to comment on was their wall of dogs! Nice unique touch of flair.

Cute little ice cream place right up the road from the beach! They had 6 options of dairy free ice cream/sorbet and their cones and chocolate sticks were dairy free too ! Some outdoor seating but the beach is a perfect place to enjoy your ice cream! I had the dairy free pineapple and coconut vanilla

I’ve been here before sometime last year and it was great. But I went again yesterday it was trashhhh. The macaroons were biggest waste of $$ the worst macaroons I’ve ever had. Cold and stale. Tasted like they’ve been in the cabinet for weeks. I then ordered a cookies and cream shake and the worker was so lazy. This was around 6pm-7pm yesterday. The cookies and cream shake had no sauce, no chocolate bits and no whipped cream. It was only after I questioned her she added all the extras and tried to lie say I didn’t order “fancy cookies and cream shake” which was a lie since the name of the shake was literally “cookies and cream” and it was the ONLY cookies and cream shake on the menu. Do not recommend this place and the worker needs to be re trained.

The lady who was working yesterday (28 May) does not know when customers are at the counter. My sister in law and I stood there to get icecreams for the kids and we stood there for a few mins and she didnt even turn around (she was too busy on her phone). We even said hello 3 times (quite loudly i might add) and she still chose to ignore us. Whats the point of being open if your staff does not care when customers are there. Might as well just close up shop since thats the whole point for this worker.

I was called in for training which was unpaid, they made me work 3 unpaid shifts. The owner and the store manager do not understand the concept of training and called me slow on my first 3 hours which is completely unreasonable. The feedback given was harsh and disrespectful. Sonia, the owner had no maturity at all to even text back, this place is very rude and unprofessional. Would not recommend to anyone.

Gone down to real rubbish place now for this brand. Was here on 02/01… at 2:40pm … the grumpy lady served me 2 cones of half kids scoop for full price… really! The owner should just open charity shop than running a shop. Even my 5 yr old asked why she gave us so less… i had to say coz she has a small heart (and no work ethics)

Have tried their ice cream, smoothies, snacks but mostly fresh juice for years. Overall great and prices have expectedly gone up. Smoothie quality really depends on the person making it; sometimes is absolutely amazing and other times are quite a letdown. However I recommend their juice & you can also have a customised one. It's located inside the shopping mall. Delicious fruit yoghurt. Staff was friendly and helpful. She suggested me to taste each yoghurt flavor before I decided which yoghurt base for my fruit flo. Price was a bit high but it's worth it. Will come back again and again.

We love weekends and wanted to make our breakfast special, so we were looking for a good place to eat and found this one. We loved the food and the good service. However, we were quite sad because our child is very picky with food and can only eat chips and porridge for breakfast. Since chips are served only after 12 noon, we would bought them somewhere else, but we were told that this is not allowed. As a result, we didn’t enjoy our breakfast together because we had to eat in a hurry so our child could have her chips outside. We hope that you may consider this kind of situation in the future

We ate here 4 years ago and the food and atmosphere was great. Today came back and brought our friends to have a nice breakfast in St Heliers. Disappointed ☹️ Bacon was tough, salty and particularly burned. Avocado was spoiled but the chef argued that the other half was eaten by other customers and they did not complain. Everything else was average. Their coffee was still good.

We went on a public holiday so it was quite bustling but we were fortunate enough to get a table without waiting. The food came out relatively quickly as well despite them being busy. Staff were friendly. The food was overall delicious and good portions except the market fish (not photographed) which was a bit underwhelming. The soufflé pancake was a stand out, crispy exterior and fluffy interior. The shakshuka was really well flavoured and seasoned, perhaps a little too well as it got pretty heavy by the end of the meal. The restaurant looks out to beautiful St Heliers Beach, lovely place to enjoy a coffee and food. Would recommend.

We just paid $21.5 for a small smoothie and a large cappucino. The smoothie was $12, which makes the coffee $9.5 and was just average. I have never ever had a coffee more than $6.5 in New Zealand. This place is a complete rip off. I do not recommend this place.

This cafe has been a firm favourite of ours since it opened in 2012. We have frequented many many times over the years. Unfortunately it has been slowly but surely destroyed by new owners. The saving grace bringing us back of recent times has been the glorious location. Today even the location has dimmed our love by the rude service we experienced. Let me make one thing clear its not the fault of the wait staff, they are under orders of a weird and often nasty owner thats watching them. Such a pity when a local icon is ruined by new owners. This place once was a constant hum of happiness now gone by disgruntled demands. The food has also been terrible on the last couple of visits. On this occasion I ordered the whitebait sandwich, which turned out to be 1 whitebait fritter with a sprinkle of baby rocket leaves sitting between 2 dry slices of white toast slice bread. A complete joke to pay $39 for a single fritter!!! (all up we paid $92 for 2 ppl). We had so many issues. We weren't allowed to sit in the window as we had done in the past as this is for couples not groups of 3 and they refuse to accommodate or move a table or chair for anything. Then my daughters water bottle was asked to be removed to their back room as youre not allowed personal water bottles in the cafe. We asked for an outdoor table space but that's not allowed as they refuse to service them.(hence the reason they have just1 remaining outdoor table, where it was once full of outdoor tables with queue's of guests waiting to secure one). So disappointed this place has lost it's vibe and the locals now just pass on by. Gone are the days of all the busy vibrancy, and happy chitchat. The locals are obviously also put off, where once was dog walkers lining up at the coffee counter is now a quiet and quick in and out. The owner was sitting at a bar bench loudly calling out the staff for the most picky little things and watching everyone like an on duty police officer. Thus guy has lost the plot. Don't bother visiting this place it's not worth it. Auckland has many other water view bustling happy places bursting with food and vibrancy and happy owners that want to be kind to their staff. These poor waiters look sad and unhappy. Sadly this will be our last visit. So disappointed this lovely place with it's magical view and those gorgeous interiors and what was once delicious generous food has now been relegated. Such a pity!!!! You can't bring back an atmosphere once it's gone. The ppl are what make it an enjoyable experience and no matter what the view the heart is barely beating here.

I saw this place on Google when looking for somewhere to eat, and I never regretted coming here! We didn’t have a reservation, but when we checked the menu near the door, Mark came over, handed us the dinner menu, and kindly explained some of the recommended dishes like the short rib and whitebait sandwich. He was very friendly and welcoming. Mark and EJ served us during our visit, and both provided such warm and attentive service. We had a lovely dinner and will definitely be back!

Celebrating our lovely daughter’s 6th birthday—and her very first birthday party—at this restaurant was the best decision we could have made! From the beginning, Rachel, the owner, was incredibly helpful, patiently answering all our questions and guiding us through the party planning process. The staff was beyond kind, making sure everything ran smoothly. The delicious buffet for adults, the fantastic kids’ menu, and the amazing outdoor playground made this place truly special. Everything was just perfect for us! A huge thank you to the staff for warmly accommodating 20 excited kids! If anyone is looking for the perfect venue for a child’s birthday party, I highly recommend this place!

Awesome place to take the kids for dinner. They just played the whole time. Delicious cocktails and food was pretty good but my crispy pork wasn't crispy. Kids plates were generous and yum. We will return for sure.

We went on a Sunday and they were pretty busy. There was only outdoor seating available when we first arrived but the manger offered us a table inside once one came free, which we really appreciated since it was quite windy. It was pretty noisy because I think there was a children's birthday party going on, but with the huge playground outdoors, the kids were kept occupied and it wasn't a problem at all. We all enjoyed the food. We got a burger, laksa, hotcakes, prawn spaghetti and the big breakfast. I can't fault them on anything as everything was well done and delicious. The food was on the more expensive side, but the portions were quite generous.

Great place for Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch. Loads of parking. Indoor and Outdoor eating areas. Really big playground for the kids. They have a bar station and wide open restaurant space. The food is tasty and the coffee is delicious. Team are fast and friendly. One of the better places to eat in West Auckland.

We had read a few online reviews and thought these looked great. Our meals were not great, though. The Alfredo Parpadelle was very over-seasoned with salt and herbs, and the Alfredo sauce had split, making it oily and unpleasant. I went for this option as it is a meal that is hard to get wrong, but on this occasion it did go wrong. The only thing that saved this meal was the actual pasta, which was great and cooked well. The sauce and meats in the sauce were not good. I don’t think a qualified chef cooked this meal. The eggs Benedict was also disappointing with burnt bacon and oddly served with lettuce. We have had better food at Denny’s. It’s always an unpleasant moment when you feel obliged to eat a bad meal that you have paid for rather than walk out or complain immediately, but honestly The Grounds, we expected better and won’t venture back. The playground is better than the restaurant. Saving grace - the good coffee. The great website disguises the poor food.

2024 booked a table for mother's Day dinner as it was a place I was really interested in trying. Booking was easy. Pleasantly surprised and amazed at the atmosphere, wasn't busy but had good vibes, there was live music from a single guy and he was great, very entertaining and friendly. We were seated and ordered our food and drink which was bloody good. I was first made aware of this place when a program was aired in relation to Alzheimer's and really impressed with how the staff made sure the participants were treated with respect. Highly recommended this place

Hahah there were ice cream makers one was a beginner and one knew how to make ice cream nice and tall(looks good in picture) everyone was tryna line up in the aethestically pleasing ice cream maker, and the beginner was calling "next" and everyone tryna avoid eye contact🤣🤣had a great laugh eating icecream and watching people compare their ice creams with the other line. They must have seen the people's faces because they started showing the beginner how to do ice cream nice and tall. Would be 5 star if the ice cream was nicer, wasn't as creamy as I have had from other real fruit ice cream shops. Still good and yum though.

Incredible real fruit ice creams, great price and even better serving sizes! It's worth stopping just for those! The fruit shop itself is also great value, nice selection of everything you could need at a great price, plenty of off street parking as well. Will definitely be back over the summer months.

Great strawberries....sweet and tasty Only let down is you guys have increased your prices, in this current market and economy. You had a large jumbo pack of strawberries for $30 I think last year or buy 2 for $50. What happen to that??? This year you have decreased the quantity, and increased the price. Its a strawberry farm aren't you suppose to be price competitive.

Quite annoying that in this day and age they only accept cash. There’s no EFTPOS machine or bank transfer option. Do you know when this might be sorted? It would make things so much easier for everyone

A great farm in the fringe of the central Auckland. The highlight of their produce is definitely the strawberry, including their fresh strawberry ice creams. In the weekends they usually have packed shop and long queue for their ice cream. Their strawberries are big, sweet and juicy. Their other produces are fresh, crisp and full of flavours. Just make sure that you bring plenty of cash as they don't have eftpos.

We had a wonderful stay at the Mövenpick Hotel. The location is fantastic — just a short walk to shops, restaurants, and all the city has to offer. The only downside was some noise overnight, which is to be expected in a central city location, so it may be worth requesting a room on a higher floor. The service was excellent, and the staff were exceptionally helpful and welcoming. Thank you for a great stay!

The rooms were lovely, big enough for a family of 4. The Breakfast and Sundaes were great. The kids really enjoyed their ice-cream each evening. The staff at the restaurant were very helpful and friendly. On our first night, we were disappointed to arrive and be unable to valet park our car as they were full. We were told we would need to ‘find’ somewhere else to park - not helpful as we do not live in NZ and don’t know the area. We were also told that we could not pre-book a valet spot and just had to hope for the best the following day. Apart from this, all other aspects of our stay were great. The location is quite central and easy to walk to many areas in the CBD.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an excellent stay at the Mövenpick Hotel Auckland! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. The kids especially loved the daily ice cream — such a fun treat that made their stay extra special. If we could improve one thing, it would be to have easier internet access for the kids to connect to — it took a few tries to get them online. Overall, a fantastic experience and definitely deserving of five stars!

I recently stayed at this hotel, and overall, it did not meet the expectations for the price I paid. The room itself was normal in size and generally clean, but the bathroom was quite small. There were no cabinets or shelves to store personal items, which made things inconvenient. The bathroom had only one wall hook for towels, so if more than one person is staying, you end up stacking towels on top of each other. There was also no designated place for used towels. I end up throw them on the bathroom floor. Reaching the reception was difficult — the phone often rang with no answer. The staff members I interacted with were polite and tried to be helpful, but the level of service felt closer to a 2-star or maybe 3-star hotel, not what you would expect for the price. The only strong point is the location, which is convenient. However, considering the limited room amenities and the inconsistent service, I would not choose to stay at this hotel again.

Our stay was pretty disappointing. The first room had mould in the shower, and while we were moved, we had to carry our own things and the second room also had mould. No compensation was offered. The valet parking was frustrating, with construction cars blocking the area. We even had to reverse out onto a busy street. This really didn’t feel like a five-star hotel. No pool, the gym was tiny, and there was nothing that made it feel luxurious. Breakfast was fine and the chocolate hour was nice.

The location of the hotel was perfect, and the staff were all genuinely lovely and welcoming. Unfortunately, there were a few things that made our stay less than ideal. Not all of the lifts were working, and one set of buttons didn’t work on our floor, which often led to long queues. We also had repeated trouble getting back into our room, as the key card only worked if timed exactly with the handle. The rooms felt a bit dated, and the tile design in the bathroom gave the impression of cracks or dirt. As we were checking out, we also noticed a large bug in the room, which was unpleasant. We had been looking forward to the hotel’s “chocolate hour,” but because of our late check-in we unfortunately missed it. I had checked in online beforehand, as suggested, in the hope it would make arrival smoother or add a special touch, but it didn’t seem to make much difference. A small gesture like a chocolate in the room would have been a nice welcome. Overall, while the location and staff were excellent, the practical issues with the facilities and room meant our experience didn’t quite live up to expectations

We stayed at Movenpick on Saturday night, from the check in through to check out, my wife and I had a very seamless stay, all communication with staff was excellent and expectations were handled effortlessly. I great room in a very handy position by Britomart and commercial bay. Highly recommended!

Fun day out! Great ice-cream and waffles, coffee needs some improvements. But overall great time. $8.50 for kg of strawberries you pick yourself. Despite being very busy, you don't have to worry about shortage of strawberries.

Good experience picking your own strawberries, we were told there was a large group the day before so we would really have to look for strawberries and mentioned their other branch just down the road, we ended up staying and we found some good juicy red ones. It wasnt busy when we got there but got abit busy when we left. Best to go when they open, and also try the ice creams next door. Overall awesome experience. Oh and you can also eat as you pick lol

The product quality is 5 start, yummy ice creams, drinks, fresh strawberries and more. Enough parking space to accommodate more than 30 cars. PYO experience is wonderful too, however the spot this place is located and the entry and exit to the place is very high risk of accidents. I noted in my 30 minutes stay the entry point people coming from back honking and an accident involved two cars. Be careful guys driving there and take safe calculated skills of driving there.

An amazing place for strawberry picking. They have couple of fields to choose from. They also have Ice cream shop which serve ice creams made from freshly picked strawberries. The picking was fun and so was eating the delicious ice cream. Try the fields which are away from the main field on the road, they have better strawberries there, they provide free shuttle service as well. Best time to visit to get a good strawberry pick is 8 am to 10 am less people and get to pick the best one. :D

If u love strawberries and fresh then it can’t get any better than picking them for yourself. This is one of the best places for strawberry picking in Auckland. On a sunny day it could be really tiring especially for the kids, so make sure you carry some good sun protection and lots of water. Plan to go earlier in the season to get the best and the yummiest of them. Otherwise, it lots more effort to the farthest of lots. Once done don’t forget to treat yourself with some of the best strawberry ice creams from the shop.

We had Stephen and his team cater for 200 guests at a luncheon last week. I could not fault it. We had an alternative drop so that adds to the planning. The chicken was still super moist, and it was a punt to go with his suggested vegetarian dish but the guests loved it. I can't wait to work with these guys again; it was a pleasure from start to end.

We can't recommend Free Range Chef enough! They recently catered our wedding and did the most incredible job. From start to end, the staff were easy to communicate with, adaptable to our needs and budget and just so professional. On the day I knew there was nothing I needed to worry about and we were blown away by the food. We requested a grazing table during the reception and I had so many of the guests say it was the best grazing table they'd had. The main meal was also a 10/10. We went for the Salmon and chicken and both were incredible, again all we had all the guests raving about the food. If you're looking for professional and organised caterers who also make incredible food then definitely get these guys on board!

I had the Free Range Chef cater for a 30 people gathering and I’m so glad I did! My day and night hosting was made so much easier not having to worry about the food. The grazing table was beautiful, and the food was delicious. The ham was outstanding! There was plenty of food for people to graze all night long . The guys setting up were lovely, super friendly and did a great job presenting the food . I can’t recommend them enough. I’ll definitely be using them again !

The team at Free Range Chef are outstanding! They catered our wedding, which was in a private venue and not only delivered an unforgettable selection of canapes and meal but brought everything with them and packed it down after, as if they were never there. We never doubted that Stephen and Rachel could deliver incredible tasting food but what really made it memorable was the amount. Unlike other wedding meals I've previously had, this was far from plain and so bountiful guests managed to top up. We chose the family style gourmet bbq and salads which was a hit with all our guests, some are still talking about it! Thanks again Rachel and Stephen! You guys are amazing.

I hosted an Italian Long Lunch for my husband's 40th on the weekend and got the Free Range Chef in to cater. WOW! I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to impress their guests with something special and out of the norm. The process of dealing with this company from booking, to organising the menu through to when they arrived on site was seamless. The food was exquisite, and every single guest was blown away by the entire occasion. Thank you very much for making it such a memorable event

My partner Gary and I had Free Range Chef cater at our recent wedding at home. We couldn't compliment them high enough. Their professionalism from the start was outstanding. Nothing was a problem in terms of any questions we had, they gave us great advice and were very accommodating of anything 'bespoke' we wanted. On the day their team was fantastic - both the chefs and wait staff. All our guests loved their food. Great flavours and it just kept on coming! Perfect for a backyard wedding.

We made a quick stop here for some icecream. I went for the traditional vanilla with organic strawberries that was mixed together and swirled on a cone right there and our kids had gelato. Very unique gelato flavors too. Our kids loved the Taro it was the most fav. If you are looking for a good ice cream shop enroute to tree adventures or Muriwai gannet colony and beach this would be a highly recommend stop!

Grade A!! Best place to get fresh strawberry ice cream, home made gelato and sorbet. Super delicious and prices are reasonable. Was a windy day but if you don’t eat ice cream in the cold weather then you aren’t a true Kiwi! Spacious outdoor seating and limited seating area inside. Love the fun old antique feel to the place. This is definitely a place to stop in when you are heading to Muriwai, Piha and Parakai during the summer holidays. Ordered most on the menu as we were a pretty large group but I only got to take a photo of my son and my Strawberry Sunday with Brownie, caramel and chocolate syrup $9. 10 out of 10 and so worth the buck👌🏽

One of the best fresh fruit ice cream I ever tried. Tried this when we were turned down by Phil Greig. Lucky we came here. Highly recommended. Outdoor sitting space is great. Commercial Bay is such a vibrant and modern spot in the heart of Auckland. I love the variety of shops here – from international brands to unique local boutiques. The Harbour Eats food court is fantastic, offering so many different cuisines at reasonable prices. The design of the space is bright and inviting, making it a great place to shop, eat, or just hang out. Definitely one of my favorite places in the city.

A great ‘go-to’ for when you have a couple or group that isn’t sure what they want to eat or has very different tastes. A nice environment with great variation in cuisine upstairs and light shopping downstairs. Nice little hidden gems and cool spot to hang out and have a cold one.

I am over the moon with my decision to try their black sesame and matcha ice creams. They are both sooo authentic and delicious! Super quality products,, especially for people who can’t stand the usual “Kiwi” way of just dumping ludicrous quantities of sugar into every ice cream or sorbet. If you enjoy premium products and live in Auckland, support these guys by going directly to their shop or buying online as they have been terribly treated by the big supermarkets. Excellent customer service too - facilitated a slightly late pickup past their closing time when they absolutely didn’t have to.

I go to this froyo store quite a lot and they always provide good and fresh toppings for the frozen yoghurts! It’s a self serve shop with multiple flavours that change from Time to time excluding classics like the plain yoghurt or chocolate. The toppings are always fresh and delicious and range from fresh fruit over boba to sweets and even small brownie chunks. The store additionally provides sauces and sprinkles to top the yoghurt off and also sells waffles etc. which are really good! You pay the yoghurt by weight- I usually pay around 5-10$ for the small sized cup filled almost to the brim with yoghurt and toppings. I really recommend this store!

Concerned Parent Review I’m wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. My 9-year-old has eaten KiwiYo twice, both times around 6 p.m., and each time he threw up about three hours later (around 9 p.m.) before going to bed. He’s not allergic to anything, and my other child ate the same KiwiYo with no problem, so it seems to affect only him. He normally loves frozen yoghurt, but now he completely refuses to eat KiwiYo because he associates it with getting sick. Could there be something in the ingredients that some children react to more strongly? I’d really appreciate hearing if anyone else has experienced something like this.

Terrible Shop! Way too overpriced, toppings bar + machines are ALWAYS a mess, attracting flies and other bugs. Awful service, a young girl working today just after lunch was basically useless and rude. Never much better service though. Don’t bother coming to this gross, unkempt shop. Employees don’t care. My go to frozen yogurt place, I purposely choose Takapuna beach when we think of a day out at a beach because of this place. My whole family can enjoy including kids as there are healthier options.

Yummmmmmmm. The cleanest fro-yo shop I've EVER been to because it didn't look like it's been destroyed by kids nor were any of the toppings uncovered and making me concerned like most others are. Plus, they had a few more soft serve flavours than just the standard ones, like I had a cookies n cream whilst there might have even been a coconut dairy free one to try. As for the toppings again, there were heaps of choices and all full up! The only saving grace for any of our waist lines is that we pick the smallest bowls so there's only so much we can fill it up with (but we try, oh do we try).

Ice cream store that sells soft serve with unique and interesting flavours. They usually have two different flavours at a time, which change twice a month. The current flavours are written on the window outside. The only constant flavour is the sea salt which is normally mixed with their other flavours as a swirl. Their facebook page tells you which flavours are currently available. I had the coconut one when I was there with the sea salt swirl in a black cone. You also have the option of adding toppings to the soft serve like popcorn and candy floss. The soft serve is nice and creamy and the flavours are there. Interesting place for dessert depending on what on offer at the time.

Sea salt icecream sounds really bloody bizarre but if you look at it one way, icecream is meant to be sweet but they’re changing it up with the salt so I guess taste wise there’s meant to be that balance. So they have two different sized cups (that aren’t too largely different tbh) or you could get the soft serve in a cone; the soft serve flavours change every now and then so here we have the sea salt and tiramisu (they had apple crumble but the machine was down). It does sound weird but it was quite nice! I’m pretty easy to please but your girl lovesssss icecream and I enjoyed this one. The toppings are additional and therefore charged (I got 3 out of 4 add ons bc who tf wants popping candy on their icecream); they were pretty but also pretty impractical omg what a mission to eat 😩 But pretty so 😇

An ice-cream store from Sydney, they serve very interesting flavoured ice-cream. The most famous one is their sea-salt ice-cream, it looks a little bit funky with the aqua blue colour (maybe to match the store's name?) The taste tho, it is a little bit too salty for me; would be nicer if they reduce salt by a little and just use that to bring out the flavour of the ice-cream. Quite interesting, they even have durian ice-cream... Go have a try, you might like it.

Creamy and smooth ice cream with nice salty twist. I had the sea salt flavour but they offer some other ones like blueberry and eldeflower or chocolate and you can also get a mix of 2 flavours. Their shop is located on Queen street. I really enjoyed the black crispy cone as well. Reasonably priced 4.9 NZD for quite large ice cream including the cone.

Unique flavoured soft serve ice cream, tastiest I've ever had. If you like salty European liquorice then try the sea salt icecream. Some strange flavoured combos e.g. Elderflower and vanilla which wasn't too my liking but the Snickers was delicious. They change up the flavours every two weeks so there is always something new to try. Two negatives is that the service can be slow if everyone is ordering the candy floss icecream (Instagram worthy) as there is only 1 staff member and that the place has no AC. Otherwise quick and delicious! Try it!

Last night my friend and I came here and ordered four scoops of ice cream 1 in cone. The male staff member was very friendly and served my friend first while I was still deciding. When it was my turn, the female staff member helped me, and she seemed fine at that moment too. When my friend decided to pay for both of us, we were charged only $16 in total. It seemed a bit too cheap, so I politely asked if the amount was correct since we had two people’s orders and one extra cone. ( We didn't notice there's handwriting menu at the back since the Gelato has captured our attention.) Really worried if we paid less than it actually costs cuz we don't want to take advantage from here. The male staff member replied kindly that everything was correct for two people. However, the female staff member’s attitude suddenly turned very unfriendly. She looked annoyed and made us feel very uncomfortable. What was even more disappointing was that she appeared to treat other (non-Asian) customers much more pleasantly, and as we were leaving, we could still hear her muttering about us under her breath. It left a very bad impression and felt disrespectful. I hope the management can look into this matter seriously, as everyone deserves to be treated with the same respect and friendliness, regardless of their background. Many choices available at Newmarket,why be bother with Duck Island🙃

Read a lot of reviews about the gelato cafe and on my first visit to Auckland, I came here to try out 2 of their most popular flavours. Blueberry buttermilk gooey butter cake Salted caramel cacao crumb The sweetness level was on a high side. It hits you first before you work through the flavour profile and texture. I like the surprising textures of the crumbs and bits and pieces. The salted caramel didn’t have an even taste blended throughout. At some point there was a burst of salty flavour - quite sharp, like biting into salt crystals. The cafe is nicely designed and spacious.

**Food Quality** Though I’m not a vegetarian, I decided to give this restaurant a try. The vegetarian meals were actually quite good, offering a satisfying experience despite the absence of meat. **Ambiance and Space** The space was big and nicely arranged, providing a comfortable dining environment. **Service and Staff** The staff were friendly and welcoming, enhancing the overall experience. **Occasional Visit** While I’m not planning to become a regular, this place seems like a good option for those “no meat” days when I want a change of pace.

Dinner for 4- hidden vegan/vegetarian gem. The staff are so hospitable and warm. The venue is large but minimalistic. Good for large groups or solo dinning. We ordered a medley of different dishes including dumplings, noodles soup, dry noodles and bao. Everything was a generous portion size. I really felt like I was getting value for money and it was all super delicious. Food came out as it was prepared, hot and fast. *You can help yourself to soy sauce, vinegar and chili oil. They have some take away or dine in cabinet food. I would absolutely recommend coming here for a quick bite or for a warm chill atmosphere to have a yarn friends. Note the rules, please don't waste food. Honestly given how great it was it would be hard to leave a grain of rice.

We had the most lovely meal at Joyve cafe! The food was delicious, whilst travelling in NZ this is the best vegan food we have had. The owner was so friendly, from making sure we got student discount to even making us a surprise dessert. I highly recommend you try this place !

Went to Joyve yesterday and the food was AMAZING. The braised noodle soup was delicious and almost bbq like. The hot and sour soup was just the right amount of spicy and we got it with pulled noodles which was incredible. The portion sizes are huge and for $17/$18 each we thought it was great value for money. The staff were so lovely and helpful and welcoming and the restaurant was immaculately clean and tidy. There were so many options (all vegan) we struggled to choose what to get so we will definitely have to go back!

This is seriously the best afforable vegan food I've had in a while! Filling portions, delicious flavors, and so fresh. The staff are so lovely! A very special place. It was all so good, but if I had to pick a fav, I would say the fried noodles with (vegan) egg gravy.

Visited for the first time with my partner today. They serve Chinese style vegan food. Found it very wholesome and delicious. This was our first visit there, and we tried the laksa and sesame sauce dried noodles. The staff are really lovely too and one had a chat with us and also let us try some fried banana dessert, and also served us some rooibos tea with our meal for no extra charge :). Really great to have a yummy vegan restaurant in this part of town!

Ice cream taste like any other ice cream you would get from the supermarket. But they did have 2 plant based ice cream options which shocked me a bit. Of course we had to try a flavour, we got the chocolate fudge brownie and it tasted just like normal dairy ice cream. The look of the place seemed pretty dull and made me feel sticky for some reason. Overall would get again.

SO many flavours to choose from! I think it is the most reasonably priced ice cream shop in the area, and with the sundae you get 3 scoops plus sauce and cream for $15 which means you get to try out as many flavours as you like and it is great value for money. They also have plant based options for those silly little lactose intolerant girlies. The american sounding lady was very sweet and there is room inside to sit but we went down to the water instead. They also offer real fruit ice cream with either yogurt or ice cream and I can't wait to try that next! We will be back for sure! Thank you

That was by far the best vegan chocolate sorbet I have ever had...it was recommended by a friend and it was totally worth the $6 for one very large scoop of deliciousness. Be warned the black Hawaiian will stain your lips if your not careful

Really great tasting ice cream but not a great store experience. Quite a lukewarm reception from staff and there isn't a bathroom at this branch which surprised me. My double scoop cost me NZD14.21c. There is indoor and outdoor seating and seating upstairs. The space lacks ambience (and clearly a bathroom). You're better off eating your treat on the beach or the grass area across the road which is what I'll do next time. If you've not tried Kapiti ice cream you're missing out!

My second best dessert location in Auckland... Hard to beat the chocolate Boutique in Parnell. All desserts here are tops, some dine in options but the only issue is the place is so tiny and poorly laid out, but I suspect it's the only way they could do it with the space they hade. Most nights have a line outside but for good reason, worth the wait for sure.

There are dessert places and then there are dessert places....Milse deserves its reputation as the creme de la creme in the Auckland scene for divine desserts. If you have the patience and time, I highly recommend doing the dine in option. While the takeaway desserts are beautifully presented and well balanced (ie not too sweet) for most part, the sit down option is really worth the wait. You get individual plates of desserts that are a taste sensation in itself. A really wonderful experience in terms of food and ambiance. Now the only reason why I didn't rate it 5 stars is simply due to the snooty wait person (the one I am referring to is the 5' one who ate too much desserts and it shows...sorry). If she understood that her job exists because of customers and treat customers with more respect, then this will be the best place in town for a lovely night out.

Very well presented ice cream desserts, the store is busy and small with outdoor seating available. It was packed so we had a milk chocolate cornflakes to take away. I like the flavoring not too sweet but enough to serve my craving. Would love to go back and try other desserts. Recommended.

Trendy, unique and beautiful designed little cafe. It is tucked away in a laneway which only adds to its special, exclusive feel. Offering exquisite little cakes, treats, desserts and chocolates. A little on the squashy side but a great experience.

I must say I am really impressed to find a yogurt ice cream. The ice cream didn’t have much strawberry jam/sauce. So it was more on the yogurt side.

We had a few dietary restrictions so I emailed them first, and they replied super clearly, all good! We really enjoyed our afternoon having gelato here. Lots of flavours to pick from and it’s not too sweet, just nice. Such a great spot to chill and have some ice cream by the bay!

Penguino has one of the best chocolate ice creams I’ve ever had in a long time. But here’s recommendation DO NOT order chocolate ice cream with green tea ice cream trust me they don’t go together. Other than my mistake everything else was just perfect

Not good ice cream - just flat sugary taste, and I had 3 different scoops to try - all the same. Like 90% sure, some bright colour and some artificial taste added I presume. It was so poor that my 3 year old didn’t even finish his bambino portion.

One of the middle-aged female staff members in the shop is very unfriendly, while the other younger female staff are all warm and enthusiastic. If I run into that unfriendly staff member again in the future, I won’t go into the shop anymore—she really ruins my mood. Eating ice cream is supposed to be a happy thing, but my mood ended up being spoiled.

Simply...... delicious! Owner lady did us great favor to let us grab a couple of ice cream last minute. Very kind. Beautiful flavor, not overly sweet, fresh and real flavors. Top quality. Shop is not normally open for winter, so get in before the cold and wet weather falling on us again guys. Lol

Absolutely delicious! A must-visit spot in the city! We had an incredible meal at Guo’s Tasty King Noodles — everything we ordered was full of flavor, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The Peking noodles were rich and savory, with just the right amount of spice. The fried noodles with BBQ pork had a perfect smoky-sweet balance, and the pork was tender and flavorful. The eggplant in soy sauce was a standout — silky, flavorful, and addictive. The sizzling tofu arrived bubbling hot and packed with umami. We also loved the stir-fried garlic lamb, which was juicy, fragrant, and perfectly seasoned. To top it off, the cucumber salad was refreshing and crisp — a great contrast to the richer dishes. Portions were generous, the service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere was casual but cozy. Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu. Highly recommended!

Delicious, affordable food every time - and always with the friendliest warmest service from the man who runs it, we always feel welcomed. Both me and my friend have loved their food since we first visited about three or four years ago (maybe even longer) and now I’ve got many of my other friends and my partner hooked on their food too. The man who runs the shop is so kind too and has never failed to greet me with a smile. In particular we love the spicy signature beef noodle soup, the spicy beef + offal, the garlic pork belly (DELICIOUS), the sweet and sour pork is so delicious, their cucumber salad and the selection of fried noodles. The hand pulled noodles always have the best chew and most satisfying texture - and we loved seeing him prepare them. Not enough compliments in the world for this place, a true gem.

Such an underrated restaurant. They make the noodles on site - you can literally see the chef pulling the noodles as soon as you order. You can also choose the type of noodles for your order, I usually get the thick ones because it has a better texture. The noodles are super fresh and chewy and they have massive portions. Beef brisket noodles are always on point 👌

"BEST HANDMADE NOODLE SOUPS IN THE WORLD" Gotta stop going here 3x a week hahahha... Chefs kind, Fresh handmade noodle soups are the best... Brisket Noodle Soup is my fav woth extra meat.. Recommend dining in bowls are way bigger 👌 11/10

Was our go to Chinese food spot while we visited Auckland for a couple of weeks. Food was tasty and the shop is clean. Seemed a bit pricey at first but after eating around the city it seemed quite reasonable with the portions we were getting. Would recommend.

Tried out 📍Guo’s Tasty King Noodles, a new Chinese restaurant hidden on Quay St! It was buzzing when we walked in and we ordered the GuoJi Beef Noodles, Big Plate Chicken, Braised Pork Ribs and a small cold dish to share. All noodles are completely hand-pulled and made fresh to order! It’s so good to see traditional Chinese culinary skills, especially since it’s at risk of extinction nowadays. My FAVOURITE here is their free complimentary You Tiao (fried Chinese donut), it’s SO crispy on the outside and fluffy inside and they are massive too! Try dip this in a bowl of noodles for the true northern-Chinese experience! • GuoJi Beef Noodles (8/10): Noodles were soft and not as chewy as machine-made ones. The soup broth is very light but fresh, anyone with a stronger palate can add your own seasoning. The beef slices were well cooked and generously portioned too! There could have been a bit more flavour to the beef itself though; but I loved how it’s not dry and the fatty bits made the texture better too! • Ribs (9/10) braised to PERFECTION, this literally melts in the mouth and falls off the bone! It soaks up all the flavour of the sauce and was incredibly tender. I think a bit more kick of flavour would have made it a 10/10 for me! • Big Plate Chicken (7/10) the hand-pulled noodles were delicious! Soaked up the chilli oil and flavouring very well and the chewiness was just right! The only flaw is there’s probably too little portion of chicken pieces in there for the price, and the pieces that were in the dish were bony and not very juicy. I would say other places do this better. Service is extremely friendly, but be prepared to wait a little longer than usual because they make everything fresh to order!

Where to start, the lady grabbed 2 menus and came to our table without greeting us....we then proceeded to order our meal but the service was so rushed i hadn't finished ordering and she was ready to grab the menu off me. We specifically asked for rice with the beef stir fry and confirmed with the lady but when the meal came out it was served with rice noodles, not white rice like we asked for, also alot of noodles and not much meat.......pays to listen to customers orders and take note. We also ordered braised pork belly stew, nothing compared to the picture displayed on menu.....expected more from here considering good reviews but unfortunately not. Wont return.

This is a small stall inside Sylvia park mall . The staff was quick to get my order. Service was quick! Delicious and creative dessert.

Your mozzarella eggloo is wrongfully marketed, what you use is just colby! Saw the pack of colby that was used, that is just sad! Edit: Here you go, glad I took a picture. You as the owner seems to be unaware of the products you are selling. Using of colby in replacement of mozzarella is misleading. WOA just use cheese smiling egg waffle as that is considered deceptive marketing.

I had a disappointing experience at this establishment due to the unprofessional demeanor of the staff. They did not engage with customers in a courteous manner. When I inquired about the prices of food items, the staff member responded rudely and displayed a lack of professionalism while serving. Overall, it was an unfriendly experience, and I cannot recommend this location to my friends in Auckland. I also do not intend to visit this store again.

Got the banana/Nutella and choco peanut and sneakers. Waffles were decent, just soft and not crispy (would have preferred a crispy shell and soft chewy centre). The chocolate icecream was creamy and tasted ok. Customer service was nice and efficient. Presentation was lovely. A tad exy at $15 each though.

Egg waffle is our favourite Hong Kong-styled street food. On 23/9/2023, my husband and I went to Eggloo at Sylvia Park especially for their famous egg waffles. My favourite is original egg waffle while my husband’s favourite is cheese egg waffle. Of course, their waffles are not as good as those in Hong Kong and Macau but they are still the best in Auckland. We highly recommend you to try their egg waffles if you live near Sylvia Park or happen to drive past there.

Personally best HK egg waffles in Auckland. The waffles stay crispy on the outside even after a while unlike a lot of other places and they have plenty of ice cream options to choose from as well. Newly added Taiyaki waffles to the menu, personally recommend the peanut butter option.

This place sells really nice Hong kong style waffles. Definitely recommend this place when you go sylvia park. I just loved how they make the waffles fresh for everysingle customer, which means your guaranteed to have hot and crispy waffles ! I ordered the Mango & cream bubble waffle monster and God damn that was delicious. Waffle was crispy and soft but also had abit of a chewy texture which I loved. - Mango was abit more sour than sweet but it was perfect when eating it with the whipped cream because it helped to cut out the sweetness and richness of the cream and waffles. Came here for some after dinner desserts after seeing this shop last time we were in Ponsonby. Checked out the website first and we were quite excited to try some of the flavours. Sadly we could only have one each, but they were good. Some unique flavours here so will definitely be back (though I'm not brave enough to try any mystery flavours!)

The ice cream itself is delicious 😋 and has been our go to place in the CBD. However the staff are young and incredibly rude. I am always friendly and they cannot even smile. This is very disappointing considering its a popular place in Ponsonby. The w stars reflects the poor service, but the product is great.

Loved this little spot!! The flavors available had a mixture of your traditional ones and some adventurous ones. I tried the tiramisu and immediately got a lil scoop of that. Also tried the milk chocolate and peanut butter gelato and they were so yum too! Nothing too sweet, and all had their distinct taste when you go between each flavor. Tiramisu was definitely the winner for me!

I love having an ice cream after diner and Little Lato had everything you could not expect (in a good way). There is flavors I never thought I needed to try. A real world selection for the relative price. I couldnt decide what to pick but I choose something I knew I would like: dark chocolate orange. It was rich and I had depth with the orange. The proportions? My small cup looked like a medium. For sure I will come back to try something more adventurous :)

Tried few of their dairy free / vegan gelatos and it’s the best I’ve had! Not too sweet but very creamy and doesn’t feel like you are eating a “vegan friendly” ice cream ☺️

Been here twice, love all the flavours and the limited edition flavours always gets me curious. Would come back again whenever I’m nearby.

Had the best experience as soon as I walked into the store. I went last night and just can't stop thinking about it. All flavours were delicious and to top it off, the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming with amazing hospitality skills. Will definitely be back soon!

Went for ice-cream. While the ice cream is good, the price is high and portions are very disappointing. I ordered a double scoop and there was so little of the second flavor that I barely got a taste. The quality is good, but given the much more reasonably priced alternatives available locally, I am not likely to be a regular customer.

My partner went in to order some sandwiches for us but the one I wanted wasn't in the cabinet at the time. They offered to make it for us anyways which was super nice of them. Genuinely the best tasting sandwich I've ever ordered from somewhere.

Chose this place as the coffee is fab and they have the good Almond Breeze milk. Loved the coffee and the ginger slice. The gelato for he kids was also yummo. The toasted sandwich was pricey for the small item that arrived and the service was a bit stunted and joyless. I'd go again for the cuppa and they homemade sour dough which was $7.50 per round loaf = well priced.

We walked half an hour to the cafe, it was 4.30 pm when we arrived. The two properly unmotivated ladys working there refused serving a coffee as the machine was already cleaned! It was half an hour before they intended to close! Worst service ever experienced!
