My partner and I celebrated our anniversary here. Food was so so yummy and staff were awesome! Mid dinner we were surprised with a delicious glass of prosecco free of charge in honour of our anniversary. Had a lovely time, will definitely be back 🤗

What more can you ask for. Sunshine, great views, plenty beer and a tasty pizza. A great introduction to Auckland and just a few steps from our hotel.

A lovely bar/restaurant with a great view over Auckland’s marina. It has a really nice atmosphere, friendly service, and the food is absolutely delicious. I ordered a vodka and apple juice, but it didn’t seem to contain any alcohol. After mentioning this, I was immediately offered a replacement — which turned out to be the same taste. I assume the standards for mixed drinks are much lighter here. After pointing it out again, they promptly offered me a refund. A very professional and honest place — definitely worth a visit!

Attended the Drag Quiz Night at Dr Rudi’s. The food (Oysters, fries and pizza) were delicious, as was the mocktail. The staff were friendly and attentive as well. Would definitely return - such a good energy and good quality restaurant. Things for improvement: The table was incredibly wobbly/unstable, which made it feel very precarious. The quiz was also quite short.

Nice food but chicken schnitzel could’ve been better, was served with gravy which wasn’t very complimentary. Service was good everyone very nice, really nice spot and a good view! Outdoor seating has heaters as well which was a nice touch.

Had a great time at Dr Rudi’s! The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and the rooftop terrace is such a cool spot with amazing views. One of the best parts is that you can play bowling with your friends for free, which makes the whole experience even more fun. But what really made it special was the service from Udi — super friendly, attentive, and truly personalized. You can tell he genuinely cares about making sure everyone has a great time. Would definitely come back!

We had a great experience here with the cocktails and service. Our group of 20+ came in for a Friday afternoon booking and casual drinks with mixed seating/standing and everything ran smoothly (we stayed for hours). We were served mainly by Luke who was incredibly friendly, taking orders and payment, bringing out the orders, keeping everything tidy etc. While we mostly stuck to drinks, we did share some fries, jalapeño poppers, and fried chicken which were all great to nibble on. Stress free experience for a corporate leaving-do and would definitely come back again.

Came in early and was allowed to sit down and relax before ordering, beautiful assortment of drinks available and the food was lovely. Food is priced very well and the location is just perfect. Our server was very welcoming and tended to our needs. Food came out pretty quickly and was lovely and warm. Definitely worth coming back !

What a night at Parasol & Swing! The cocktails were next-level—creative, delicious, and beautifully crafted. The vibe was on point with a great crowd and an incredible live DJ who kept the energy high all night. We had a fantastic time sipping on their signature drinks and then dancing it all off. Such a fun, classy spot for a night out in the Viaduct. Can’t wait to go back! The crew was awesome.

The food here was okay, the beef itself was super yummy but the pickles didn’t really taste “pickled” and the potatoes were a bit too smoky for my liking but the other people at the table enjoyed it. The cocktails looked pretty much all pre mixed which never really tastes the same. For the price as well is expensive for pre mix. Other than that I loved the atmosphere in here and would return just for drinks and maybe fries :)

Celebrated my birthday here with the fam and it was such a good time! Our waitress Tamsyn was really kind and patient, honestly made the whole night better. Service was excellent, food was yum, and the atmosphere is stunning. I don’t drink alcohol but their cocktails are seriously a must-try – so good!

This spot is right next to my home, but I never had the chance to sit down for a proper meal until recently. The front has a cozy dining area, and there’s also a lovely outdoor terrace at the back that’s perfect for good-weather days. In the evenings, it turns into a lively bar with great vibes. I honestly didn’t expect much from the food, but it completely exceeded my expectations! We ordered the market fish and the beef bavette—both were absolutely delicious, fresh, and generous in portion size. Definitely high quality and well worth it. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very Instagram-worthy. On top of that, the service was amazing—the staff member who looked after us was so kind and attentive. Highly recommend this place!

Great spot for lunch , large deck perfect for a few drinks in Summer & the lunch menu is delicious. skull Island Prawns are really good as is the Agnolotti mushroom pasta. Aperol and Limoncello Spritz are amazing as were the staff, very attentive and friendly.

Amazing food we had here. Busy but nicely spaced out tables. I had the linguini bolognese and it was to die for. I had the Barossa shiraz which was also lovely and the chocolate terrine for dessert. This was part of the menu of their $39 Pasta Night (wednesdays). We did wait a long time for our food to come, and a lot of the items on the menu were sold out but they rewarded our wait with a free drink each and we were also treated with some yummy crumbed olives while waiting. The staff taking care of us were delightful and kept an eye on us. We plan to come back because the food is outstanding!

Sunday yakitori at a rooftop bar is a great idea. Unlocky for us it was super windy and cold. But nonetheless the view was fantastic. Yakitori could definitely have more options and they didn't have coffee. I wish they had beef tongue and tsukune etc. other than that no complaints. The cucumber salad was really good.

This place is really cool. The vibes created here makes you feel like a VIP with the expert hospitality and service of the entire staff. The staff behind the bar know exactly what they're doing when it comes to suggesting drinks that compliments whatever mood you're in. The wait staff can only be described as complimentary to the knowledge of the bartenders as their service with a smile bolsters the VIP experience. The manager on duty, Hollie, was extremely helpful and engaging. She would suggest drinks and crack a joke every now and then. I will definitely become a regular and return soon. Highly recommend coming through and taking in the VIP experience yourself.

Disgusted that the bar advertises as 7 days per week (as per the photo from the website & in room info sheets), but isn’t (=false advertising!!) Staying at the hotel & went to go up & have a drink (after leaving a nearby cool jazz bar which was heaving with people & a long waiting list) only to find it’s not open. No mention if this in their website or at check in (where we were told to use our welcome drinks at the rooftop bar). Learn from our frustration!

Beautiful atmosphere and setting. It’s always a favourite for a special occasion and rooftop ambiance. Unfortunately, the service lets the experience down. Plenty of staff lingering around the bar counter area but not a lot of attention to guests with fulfilling drink orders. It wasn’t busy and we sat for 10 minutes without being acknowledged. Even then we had ask a passing server if we could possibly order a beverage. Disappointing for such a reputable brand and stunning location.

We ordered the bluff oyster, which is seasonal, it’d be great if it’s a larger oyster🥲 a little bit disappointed in that for the price offered. However, the drink are like always, exceptionally delicious 💕 atmosphere is nice and music is not too loud. It’s always one of the best places to go in my own preference✨

The snacks really leave something to be desired. The service sucked. A bunch of staff standing around who seemed to have no interest in serving. The Oysters tasted off. We told the servers and they then ignored us. The cheese plate is 3 slices of cheese and a handful of crackers For 30NZD. Some big misses for what the bartender claimed is the best cocktail bar in the city. On a positive note, the cocktails were good and the atmosphere is good. Nice setting and view.

I recently hosted a corporate event at The Churchill and the experience was excellent, the team were able to work together with me to create something bespoke and tailored and they were flexible to suit my requirements. Everything was simple, easy and actioned. The event ran smoothly and the communication was spot on, staff were fantastic. Food and drinks were high quality. I had heard a lot of rave reviews about The Churchill of Auckland and it exceeded all expectations. Awesome gin bar with epic views of the big city. Great wee spot, amazing atmosphere, stunning view of the sky tower, friendly tentatively staff. The cocktails were delicious, we had some snacks - lamb skewers and waffles, OH MY LORD the waffles!! So tasty! Lamb was a little fatty but great flavours. Would have liked a better beer tap selection (any of the amazing nz craft beers) but this seems to be a theme in all Auckland bars. Will definitely go back!

I went to Glass Goose for dinner with my partner and 3 other friends. The portion size was good, the meals were tasty and well presented (don't miss out on the desert, they are yummy and large - maybe a little too large if that's possible). Very friendly and professional service, a nice interior fit-out and great atmosphere and good value - I will definitely return

I had an event at the baxters lounge and everything went perfectly. My friends and family had a great time. We danced, ate and drank great cocktails made by Juanita. The bartender was great vibes and was super accommodating to us. I thank the team for making my birthday so special and exactly the way I imaged it

Went for lunch with a friend and we ordered four sharing plates. The duck fat potato skins were delicious. The lamb skewers were succulent and flavorful however the portion size was small. Only two skewers with four small cubes of lamb. We also had the halloumi, pumpkin and grape snack plate and a green goddess salad. The food was delicious. We also tried three cocktails and they were also good. No complaints. Great views on the top. Service was excellent and waiter was friendly as well as knowledgeable on menu items and able to give recommendations. I would definitely go again as they had plenty great gluten free options.

Like a glass goose, I felt empty at the end of my meal. Cocktails were a hit or miss, but it really is just a matter of preference. I ordered the Basil Grande. Artificially sweet but unique. Next, I had the Fresh Pickings. This cocktail lived up to its name- extremely refreshing! When it came to the meals, my friends and I were shocked (negative connotation). I ordered the Lamb Shoulder, which was an undoubtedly delicious main. The lamb was well seasoned and tender. I highly enjoyed the parsnip puree, which was swapped as the original sauce was not suitable for my dietary requirements. However, with how much Glass Goose charged for the dish, the portion was absolutely ridiculous. Furthermore, the Tacos that my friend got was TINY! The skewers I ordered were also TINY!! This was a similar experience throughout our big table- why is everything so small?! Regardless, my friends and I had a good time at Glass Goose. The music was fantastic and the atmosphere was beautiful. From where we sat, we had a direct view of the Sky Tower.

My friends and I had a great experience at the glass goose, thanks particularly to the amazing staff member Steff. She was so kind and helpful and amazingly organised and professional despite being over stretched on a shift where perhaps the restaurant was busier than expected. We had delicious food, and a lovely experience and will definitely return!

Had dinner here last night with some friends... was a last minute decision to come here seeing as I have only ever been here for drinks and dancing... but glad we did! Food was great... there was a misunderstanding with a dish we ordered but it was resolved instantly and we got a complimentary cheeseboard which was delicious! Great vibes, nice friendly staff and not badly priced. Definitely will be back again.

The food was very delicious. I ordered oysters and salami, both were nice. The cocktail was just okay. I ordered a Mai Tai, but I don’t know what they made. The glasses were very small and too expensive. Customer service was nice though.

Went here couple of months ago with a group of friends for drinks and snacks! The atmosphere is just amazing! The restaurant is so beautiful set up! The interior decor is just perfect! There is also a photo section beautifully set up to take photos! Views from here are amazing! We bought a shared small meals and a lamb dish. Perfect for a date, or hang out session with friends or high tea! Staff are lovely! Overall a good experience!

A great place with a vibey youthful atmosphere, the DJ-saxophonist fusion was a unique touch. The wait staff were friendly, attentive and patient. We didn't enjoy the fish too much but that's at no fault to the food, just personal preference - however, the pizza was the best we've had especially if you enjoy a good kick of flavour, the base was thin and cooked in a fire oven which really added to it. You'll enjoy good food, views and a vibe. We took family visiting from overseas on a busy Friday night. You can also have good drinks here as they have a good exciting selection or enjoy a night walk on the viaduct afterwards.

This place has an ideal location and setting for anyone looking to enjoy delicious food for lunch, all while taking in a wonderful view from the upstairs seating area. The view of the viaduct is simply breathtaking! The friendly staff truly knows how to welcome guests. We indulged in two wood-fired pizzas and the fresh market fish crudo, along with a couple of drinks. The market fish crudo was absolutely exquisite—an outstanding presentation that impressed us as it arrived at our table. The flavors paired perfectly, making for a delightful experience. I can’t wait returning and indulging a bit more, as the location and dining atmosphere are simply delightful. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed and truly pleased with my time here.

Yummy Margherita pizza. Menu is a bit pricey for other items based on the portion size but otherwise tasty and great location. It was quite crowded when we went but overall a good experience. Food is ordered via the app and for additional drinks you would need to give credit card to open a bar tab. Otherwise purchase from online.

Drinks are super expensive but the view and interior make up for it! Make sure to check out the bathroom with a view as well! Nice to see some Auckland themed drinks too, good quality alcohol used for the cocktails, presentation and service were good too

Did not have any food. Had a couple of drinks. Really enjoyed the stunning views of Auckland, and the staff are amazing such a good team. The decor is really nice and well don't but I couldn't help but feel like something was missing. Just that little shaaazing or magic touch to really make the space that something special.

We visited Bar Albert on a Friday night. The cocktails were great, and the bar snacks were delicious. The views are incredible, and the decor is awesome. The staff were friendly too, which is always a bonus. The only downsides were the service. We got water when we arrived, but then no top-ups after that. At one point, we even had to go to the bar to order another cocktail, even though it wasn't busy. Overall, it's worth checking out for the drinks, food, and amazing views, just be prepared that the service might be a bit of a mixed bag.

Beautiful spot to sit and enjoy the twinkling lights of the city. There is no seat without a view. Thoughtfully planned space, with cosy nooks and standout views of the city. Cocktails and sharing food were great all be the food menu a little limited. We will be back at cocktail hour instead of dinner next time.

Had an amazing evening at Bar Albert — easily one of the most elegant spots in the city. The atmosphere is intimate yet vibrant, with a perfect skyline view. What made it even better was the warm service — especially the lovely French waitress who was effortlessly charming, attentive, and truly added a touch of Parisian grace to the night. We came here for a quick drink, and it’s on top of a hotel. The view is fantastic, and sitting next to the window looking at the Sky Tower will be amazing. I’m happy with my drink.

Looking for a place to eat and Brew on Quay caught my eye as we passed on the bus. We walked back and were not disappointed. The staff was great and the food was tasty. I had the beef meat pie and it was wonderful. The meat was tender and very flavorful and the top crust was light and flaky. I paired that with a local stout and I was in heaven. Our meal and drinks were reasonably priced, but the staff made dining here very pleasant. They were patient in answering our questions and made us feel very welcomed. Seek out this place for a relaxing good time.

Service was incredibly friendly and beer selection was great. However, we were really disappointed at the size and quality of the bowls of chips we received. At $11 each, we anticipated a little more than a small handful of frozen fries chucked on a desert plate. Very poor value.

We went to BoQ to catch up with people over lunch, so not there for the beer (120 brews on tap!). Good service, good food (although pretty limited), but felt too expensive for what it was. I guess this is the result of Auckland CBD rents.

The amicable service, refreshing variety of alcoholic drinks, as well as the delicious food definitely put Brew on Quay on the map. The atmosphere and interior setting are a little disorganized but quite spacious. The pricing is fair too, which is why we will return to knock back the beers with the menu items we all got too full to try.

We were a party of 6 and wanted a quiet area to talk. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. We were placed in a semi private area which was perfect for us. Visually interesting. We had a few pints and some good old fashioned hearty pub grub. The fish and chips and pork chops were exactly what we were looking for! Beers were plentiful and delicious. One of the rare old charm pubs around.

We stopped by Sunset Bar, not during sunset (which might’ve been mistake number one), but honestly, I don’t think even the most spectacular sky could’ve distracted me from the experience. Moral of the story? Don’t get food at a bar unless your expectations are low. The food was… well, let’s call it “aspirational.” Small portions, sky-high prices, and flavors that seemed to have taken the night off. I’m all for “bar food”, but at this price point, I expected something memorable—not a microwaved appetizer vibe at a Michelin-star price. Lesson learned. The drinks weren’t much better. For a place called Sunset Bar, I expected the cocktails to shine. Instead, they tasted watered down and uninspired. Combine that with small portion sizes, and you’ve got a recipe for disappointment. The saving grace? The waitstaff. Lovely and accommodating. Overall, if you’re stopping by, maybe just stick to bottled beer or soda, enjoy the view (if it’s actually sunset), and don’t expect a culinary revelation. The vibe might work for some, but for me, once was enough.

Cocktails are nice.View is actually pretty average, since from one side all you can see is Nelson st .We arrived for our 14:00 booking at 13.55 and were told by the barman at the groundfloor, that we can go upstairs .Unfortunatly, when we tried, we find out that lifts to the top floor are blocked.So us, and another groop of guests have to wait untill somebody from personnel show up and get it activated.This really ruined the whole experience.On the arrival to the bar-music was sceaming loud, to the point that I can't hear my wife, and have to ask barman to reduce the volume.The bar chairs upholstery look terrible-very cheap and 90s.One off experience.

Loved this place! The food was very nice and we liked the flavours. We were there for a first table booking and that made the food prices quite reasonable but still we would go again for a regular table booking. The views were really nice and the staff were lovely. Shubh was lovely and went the extra mile and gave us a lovely table inside and then a table outside for our final drink. We really enjoyed the experience and we will definitely be back!

The quantity of food was so small considering the price for it. The fried chicken was dry and mostly batter, less chicken. The market fish with chilli saag was a let down, was expecting saag incorporated with the fish but it wasn’t that, hardly got the saag and the fish was raw, we were expecting cooked fish - presentation was very pretty and it tasted good. The prawns were dryer than we like and the sauce was way too coconut that overpowered the prawns. Because of the food being below average, we have taken away a star. The watermelon cocktail was the best cocktail I’ve ever had! It’s a must when visiting this venue again! The views are amazing especially when the sun will set which matches the name of the venue! Customer service was amazing also, very tentative and available when required!

They will request to hold a credit card for the table before serving the food and give it back to you when you pay. -1 cocktail per person($12 per person on the bill). -To share: $33 per person - 3 small plate appetizers+250g steak+2 Spanish mains(1 pastry & 1 fried potato one) in total. I like how they cut the steak and pastry into bite sizes before serving. Very atmospheric with nice decor and city view from the window. Music is a bit loud.

Not the kind of experience you’d hope for. There was a serious lack of basic hospitality. Guests who stepped away from the table weren’t served at all — which felt unnecessarily rigid. To make matters worse, there weren’t enough chairs available, so some of us had to stand and wait uncomfortably. It wouldn’t have taken much effort or cost to show a bit more courtesy, but instead, the staff came off as indifferent and unwelcoming. Honestly, I just can’t relate to that kind of attitude toward guests.

Had the best time at QT Rooftop Bar last week! From the moment we walked in, Sebastian made us feel so welcome and set the vibe for the night. The cocktails by Arish were absolutely on point if you go, do yourself a favor and try the Maya and Sugar Plum. Both are total showstoppers: fun, fresh, and just the right balance of flavors. The food paired so well too The rooftop itself is such a vibe – chic but relaxed, with the choice of indoor cosiness or outdoor views under the sky. The music was perfectly tuned to keep the energy up without drowning out conversations. Overall, it’s one of those places that makes you want to stay all night great people, amazing drinks, and a rooftop that feels a little bit magical. Definitely coming back for round two and more.

My sisters and I enjoyed our time here at your Bar. Service was friendly and attentive. We walked in with no booking and she got us a table inside. Later she moved us to a table was available outside. The sunset and the view was spectacular. So gutted I didn’t get her name. We were there on 30th July around 5.20pm. Thank you for her great service we felt welcomed 😊 we will be coming back next time we come to Auckland.

Very nice place, food is good and well prepared. Service is top and friendly. The view from the deck is stunning. Can be very busy and noisy at rush time.

A great spot for a cocktail. The decor has a retro vibe and there is a large outdoor seated area with a nice city view. The food was ok, dishes were a bit same-y, the favourite was beef carpaccio. Happy hour is 4:30-5:30 with $11 cocktails. There is also a set menu with 4 dishes for $40 which seems to be good value.

Recently went to Palmer and it was amazing! Beautiful decor and lighting. The service was nice really informative on the dishes. The food was some of the best I’ve tasted in Auckland. You could tell a lot of effort went into it and the flavours really matched. The cocktails that accompanied the food was delicious and well presented. Will be back again for more

Very impressed with the fit-out and excellent service. The food was delicious and nicely presented but the menu was limited and everything a little bit samey. Great wine list and cocktails and a lovely place to sit back and chill.

Went to Palmer bar with friends on a Friday. Loved the atmosphere, the design and the team. The food was so delicious we had 5/6 sharing plates and finished with the steak fillet. They were all delicious but I really enjoyed the leeks, the tuna and steak with the garlic sauce which was the highlight. The service was great and the team at the bar really made lovely drinks to go along the food. Highly recommended. I wanted to take pics of the food but I enjoyed the food too much that I forgot

Atmosphere was on point and music was matching, the perfect vibes for our boojie dinner. The staff were welcoming to start with a friendly greeting and a lovely consistency throughout their flawless service. The most delicious Chenin Blanc and Cab Franc to end with. A must visit with great views off the roof top.

Palmer has a perfect vibe for hanging out after work. The service is great. Every staff is very friendly and welcoming. Their food is great. Strongly recommend Burrata and Eye fillet.

Stunning venue, attention to detail through out from the flooring to the cocktail creation to the mood lighting & glassware…Things that make an experience special and refined! The food was immaculate.. the starters where all stand out dishes especially the miso cabbage and the steak Bavette for main was divine. If you want a sophisticated but still relaxed vibe this venue is perfect. Can’t wait to go back for summer to utilise the roof terrace with its city lights back drop.

We booked out Sweatshop for our wedding reception & it was everything we dreamed of! Perfect location with a great view of the Sky Tower. The food was amazing and everyone raved about it. The atmosphere was 10/10 and the support from the team at Sweatshop was unbeatable. Thanks for being part of our perfect night.

Quite a lacklustre experience, to be honest. Even with a First Table booking, I’m not sure it was worth it—might take a while before I consider coming back. I came in feeling hopeful, but like a few other reviews have mentioned, something just felt a bit off. The staff were genuinely friendly, which I appreciated, but service-wise, things weren’t quite on point. We were told someone would be over in a few minutes, but several other tables were served before we even had the chance to place a food or drink order. We weren’t in a rush, so it wasn’t a huge deal, but honestly, I’ve had quicker service at Macca’s. When someone finally came by—about 15 minutes later—they were apologetic, which was polite, but considering the place was pretty quiet (even for a Friday night), I expected a bit more prompt attention. Was the food worth the wait? Sadly not. The fish and chips arrived cold, the batter was stale, and the fish itself was dry and overcooked. The fried chicken had similar issues—overdone, tough batter, and barely any seasoning, while being quite tough to chew. The only saving grace was the garlic loaf, which was hot and flavourful. Maybe we needed a few more drinks to lift the mood? I get that this venue leans more towards a social vibe, which is great, but I still expect the food to be at least half-decent at any venue. Overall, a bit disappointing. Maybe I’ll come back at some point, as it seems like a promising venue – perhaps it was just an off night?

Service was fantastic – Laura and Jack were great, and a special shout-out to Nikita at the bar who was incredibly friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make our night enjoyable. The food was delicious, served all at the same time, and even with some last-minute changes, the kitchen delivered perfectly. Highly recommend this place for great service, great food, and a welcoming atmosphere!

Went to the bottomless brunch on 13/09/25. The food and drinks were amazing, and the male staff member who served us was lovely. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by the two female staff members who often ignored us, rolled their eyes at requests, and clearly didn’t want to serve our table. Although it was advertised as a 2-hour brunch, the food was brought out so quickly that everything arrived within the first hour, which made the whole experience feel rushed. They also wouldn’t clear our table to make room for new dishes, so we ended up taking our empty plates to the bar ourselves. It’s a shame, because the food was excellent, but the poor service really spoiled our night.

I was so excited to return here for your onion rings, which used to be the best, honestly. But you’ve changed how you make them, and they taste awful now. I’m leaving my entire order and walking out

Even though I walked in a few minutes before the store was actually open, Jake quickly greeted me, gave me menus and water. He explained the beers that were available and made recommendations. Both of his recommendations (Sweat Shop Lager and the Tuatara Optical Hazy) were great! I am sad that I will probably never have that lager again, and that I never had a chance to taste their full range of beers. Next time I will stay for something to eat and try more of the beers. Maybe things change and when I visit the brewery is up and running again! :) Jake went above and beyond to find me a sticker for my beer fridge. Thank you Jake and to the brewer!

The food is great. Ordered the beef Wellington and tastes great. But just realized there is no special gift for birthday person. What’s more, if you bring your own cake, there will be extra $5 charge for each person at your table. The waiting time today around 50 minutes ( we have already pre-order online though ) ,it is quite a long waiting for my husband but it is acceptable for me.

Went here for family lunch on daughter birthday. Very impressive. Started with the seafood platter and lobster toast yummy. Lobster toast is a must try. Then shared Beef Wellington and lamb roster both first class. Lamb falling off the bone. Sides veg and chips all good. Staff were attentative and most helpful. Really nice outlook just a shame the container wharf is here but would highly recommend Ostro to all. Is expensive but I thought well worth the experience.

Food was absolutely amazing. However, the service was disaster. Service: Lunch time was extremely under staffed. We kept looking for our waiter and nobody checked on us. When the desserts came and we waited for five minutes to get our cutlery. Food: Oyster was fresh, lamb rump was just perfect(tender, juicy and flavourful), beef fillet was delicious and the chicken was tasty. Desserts do need some improvement nothing special.

We dined out at Ostro Brasserie & Bar in Britomart precinct and was instantly impressed with the service and restaurant interior as soon as we entered. From a very industrial looking entrance to the building to ascending the floors to the restaurant, it was stunning to walk into the reception area separating the mood lit bar to the right and the expansive dining area opposite. The maitre’d was a consummate professional with greeting and escorting us to our table. The wait staff were exceptional and the menu was exciting to peruse. I was impressed with the wine list the representation of NZ wines so we enjoyed an Otago Pinot Noir with Antipodes. We started off with the seafood platter and this was amazing with banana prawns, kingfish crude, ceviche, oysters, tuna tataki and croquettes with a trio of sauces. This was the best seafood platter I’ve ever had as the flavour profiles were refreshing and exotic to enhance the seafood. Following on, we ordered the snapper and lobster pie and this was moorish and flavoursome with chunks of lobster and fish in mornay sauce. We enjoyed the pie with Parmesan beignets and a cos hazelnut salad. The sides complemented beautifully. For dessert we had the poached pear with chocolate mousse and a cheese platter. This was the perfect close to a wonderful dinner. Overall, our dining experience was memorable and the ambiance, service and cuisine was truly wonderful. Highly recommended with distinction!

Had high tea here with friends. The food was nicely presented but varied in terms of taste. Some items were outstanding, some were just quite ordinary. One item had cream that was off although the chef insisted that it wasn't. My girlfriends were not convinced though and it's rather insulting for the chef to imply we don't know what we are on about when some of us are proficient bakers and even teach cooking. Why 3 stars? In terms of value, it's a bit misleading. For $55, you will get a savory option each but not the dessert option. So if there are 3-4 of you, you will have to either share or omit from eating the dessert you crave for as they only give one of each item. We were served 1 tray (see images) for 3 of us to share. Tea is limited to 2 servings/cups. You don't get a chance of even getting top ups as they are chasing you out of the restaurant by that stage by clearing your plates and giving you the impression that it's time to bugger off. The view is magnificent for those lucky enough to face the right direction. But would I come here again? Maybe.....maybe not.

On a Saturday afternoon around 3pm we wandered for lunch into Ostro. This place has a great view of the Waitemata harbour and you have the option to sit inside or the outside depending on weather. Great ambience and sitting space. Menu had one main option for vegetarians only. We had hot pot mushrooms and pan sheared snapper plus fries on the side. For a fine dinning restaurant the food was average, customer service was not as expected but the servers were polite. Cocktail was great along with the tap beer. Definitely a place to visit with friends for a drink and to soak in the harbour views.

Lovely location. Great food, and even better service. We thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday Sipsters lunch here. A must-do restaurant.. Oh, and a wonderful view of the Port.

Talulah has a great vibe and the cocktail bowls were so good, along with the other cocktails on offer, makes for a good night! Had a great couple of hours catching up with cousins on the comfy seating provided. Service was also good. Highly recommend!

Cute spot if your looking for somewhere different that has its own personality and vibe. Bar tenders were very friendly, good to arrive early as its quite small and fills up quickly. Drinks were very tasty. We loved the bowl (Hella expensive) but you only live once !!! They also have $10 cocktails between 4-7pm which we loved.

Awesome cosy rooftop (slightly covered) bar in "The Chambers" on Quay St. Very busy Hawaiian type bar. Gets very busy when I was there on. Friday night. Limited tables/seating. Must go there early and be prepared to spend $$. OMG the cocktails 🍹🍸 presentation and flavour is to die for! If only I had unlimited funds to try all he cocktails on the menu. High recommend ordering the Pork Belly dish! Was so tender and he flavour to die for. Their hot chilli sauce was more like mid chutney, not spicy enough but still went well with the dish 🤤

Always come here when I want cocktails with some friends. Nice variety of cocktails on the menu and great space with some tiki vibes. I like the view but wish it wasn't so hard to see past the vases/decor, the bar stools for the tables with a view are pretty uncomfortable too which is unfortunate.

What can I say - Tom is an absolute ninja with the needle. A passionate, considerate, accommodating, and downright good dude. I've had 5 full-day sessions with Tom, so I can say with certainty that he comes to every session committed and ready to lay down his best work. He's an artist through and through, bringing ideas and excitement about the piece. He also thinks about how the tattoo will age and considers this when composing the piece. If you want a piece of art from a legend, Tom's your guy. I have absolutely no hesitations recommending him to friends and family (and the internet).

We came here for a team work event and did the cocktail making masterclass, Frederico was our mixologist and he was fantastic, incredibly knowledgable on all things flavour and alcohol, super friendly, fun and really just made the whole experience. The food was great we pre ordered a few plates to share between us and a couple cocktails beforehand and everything came out promptly and was delicious. Overall the atmosphere is beautiful, right by the water with a nice high end interior, the team had such a great time so would highly reccommend for a team building activity for a smaller group. I definately will be returning to try some more of Fredericos fabulous cocktail creations 😁🍸

We visited Bellini for the Kiwi Icons high tea and we loved it. Food was delicious and we thought very reasonably priced. Bit of theatre at the end with some dry ice. Good tea selection and one cold drink was included. Seating was really comfortable. Nice sea view.

How good is this place!!! Absolutely stunning internal design - ocean and ship/yacht themes throughout the bar which is in the Hilton hotel lobby, very spacious and private sitting areas and great cozy fireplaces. Ample sitting area inside and outside. The location is fantastic - right on the pier with 180 degrees view of the water. Bar food is very well done and creative - eg pork cheeks croquettes. Coffee is great too, perfectly roasted and smooth. With or without food, it is a great place to relax and enjoy the great interiors and the surrounding ocean.

Did the mixologist class was fantastic. Our teacher Bruno was amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable on the history of the drinks and provided a memorable experience for our class. Would highly recommend. 10/10 for Bruno

It’a beautiful place to have a high tea with friends and family. Bubbles, tea and a set of snacks with wide range of dessert available at $89 per person. Vegetarian options are available. It was also pink ribbon themed, raising beast cancer awareness. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

We had an excellent high tea. Couldn’t have been more perfect. The food, service and atmosphere was exceptional.

Perfect 21st birthday venue in many aspects. Firstly, the convenience of parking was exceptional, with a parking lot located just across the road. On Saturdays, it only cost $15 for nearly 8 hours of parking at the downtown street parking, which was just 2 minute walk away. The bar staff were great, providing excellent service throughout the night. The changeable lighting added a nice touch and made the photos look fantastic. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening, and the seating arrangement was just right for our kaumatua (elderly). We had a wonderful time with our laptop connected via HDMI for a photo slide show. Additionally, we were able to play our own music using their iPad, eliminating the need to connect our phones since we didn’t book a dj. Meeting the minimum spend through a cash bar was effortless since we had paid in advance for food, which was absolutely divine and served at perfect intervals throughout the night. The location of the bar was also excellent. Overall, we felt well taken care of and highly recommend this venue for any event.

Absolutely amazing venue to book out for any event especially a 21st birthday. Had my 21st this past Saturday and there was no faults with the night running smoothly, and the venue making it a really personal event. The bar staff for the night were utterly friendly and helpful, constantly checking up with me to make sure things were going to my plans. Big shoutout to Max and Sydney for being absolute troopers (sorry Max, forgot about my birthday shot you made!). Amazing drinks and food as well. If booking I would recommend that you check that the media on your USB (that will be plugged into the TV) is compatible with the TV.

Food is delicious. We ordered pizza and garlic bread. The dough is soft and crispy at the same time. Great flavor too! The pizza is made with a wood fired pizza oven.

Came in for drinks. Upstairs with outside covered seating is refreshing after a long day of walking. Great beer selection (I had the Sandman IPA). I didn't have food, but wow something smelled good.

This place was full of excitement. I visited with my two close friends to enjoy the Friday evening with beers. It was a fabulous experience. Many groups were having parties at every corner, and there were also outdoor seats. There was no quiet location, crazy exciting songs were playing in the entire restaurant, so the three of us sat at a table a little further away, but still couldn't hear each other well, which was fun. The food and service were excellent. The waiter recommended the entire menu since it was our first time there. The pizza and fried cheesy sticks paired well with the happy hour beers. I loved the interior decorations, the beautiful bar, and the lively laughs and chill vibe inside the restaurant. Despite the noise inside, which required us to shout at each other, this place comes highly recommended for those with a group of friends or colleagues looking for a cool Friday drink place.

There is literally nothing to complain about and everything to love. The staff are wonderful people, the food is top teir, and youd be hard pressed finding better cocktails. We were lucky to have Josh and Sydney as bartenders. If youre lucky enough to get either of them, youll find no need to bar hop. They can do gluten free pizza and some items. Its just good. No words about it, come and experience it instead

I came here for lunch on a weekend. It wasn't too busy but I really liked the different areas they have set up here. We had to stay indoors though, because the weather wasn't great. The food was delicious. The cheeseburger I had tasted homemade and the pizza was awesome. They have some great lunch specials. We also had a turn on the pool table while we were waiting for the food.

Excellent spot to live life a bit larger. Several restaurants around the Viaduct and scattering of museums for good measure. Clearly a business hub by day, surrounded by several corporations nearby with some hotels and residential blocks thrown into the mix. The weather will play a big part in your experience of this location, so be sure to plan ahead. Walking distance from Britomart and several bus stops. Two thumbs up for a party or romantic night out!

Had a great time up here. Price was a little steep for what it is but we had a good time nonetheless the less. Some fantastic views across the city and had the weather been nicer I can imagine some of the views would have been majestic. Elevator takes you up to the 51st floor and then another elevator takes you up a further 9 floors. All in all, worth a visit for an hour.

In cities that have a big tower like this it's almost always worthwhile to go up and check out the view. This tower has two levels of observation and one level for dining and bungee jumping. There may be other levels but there were some renovations happening at the time of writing. I'm sure this could be made into a much bigger activity by dining here during the sunset or jumping off (a desire I'll never understand) but just as a casual place to spend some time between outings in Auckland it's pretty great.

Visited the Sky Tower in the evening. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t on my side so I missed the sunset, which would have made the view much more stunning. Still, the city lights from above were quite nice, and it’s definitely worth the experience if you’re in Auckland. The staff were helpful and everything was well-organized. Even though the view wasn’t at its best due to the weather, I can see how on a clear day it would be amazing.

If you come to Auckland, DO NOT MISS THE SKY TOWER!!! Yep, both my wife and I enjoyed our time looking at the majestic views and taking photos. Seeing Auckland from this vantage point was a great way to see the city. Plan your visit for a clear day to maximize your viewing pleasure.

Went up the Sky Tower three times in Oct-25 - once to view, once to do the Sky Walk and once for dinner in the revolving restaurant. All three experiences were fantastic, and I enjoyed sitting in the lounge with a beer looking out as far as the eye can see. Paying for the Sky Walk gets you a free observation ticket, saving you around $40. Easily the best attraction in Auckland.

Very good 360 views from 3 observation decks in the heart of Auckland. Usual stuff of a pricey fake photo, overpriced drinks etc but if you forget all that and admire the views you’ll have a decent hour or so. If you are lucky you might catch some people doing the sky jump off of the side.

I had a good experience at the war memorial museum, though it was somewhat dampened by the museum being approximately half-shuttered due to long-term repairs being made to the building and galleries. The ticket cost was reduced by 50% to compensate, which seems about right. Highlights included the Auckland exhibit, which was very colourful, progressive, and optimistic while also reflecting on more difficult parts of the past. I also really enjoyed the gallery about New Zealand’s flora and fauna. It was especially cool seeing reconstructions of giant flightless birds. WWII scholars will love the reconstructed Zero. When I went on a weekday, it was quite busy with many children, so just be aware!

I would say this museum offers some of the best exhibitions in New Zealand. It features a wonderful collection showcasing Māori art, culture, and New Zealand history- from artefacts, paintings, and carvings to impressive life-sized pieces like the Māori waka (traditional canoe). The museum has also hosted incredible showcases such as the Guo Pei exhibition and, more recently, the DIVA exhibition in collaboration with the V&A in the UK. I travelled all the way from Wellington just to see DIVA! Tickets are reasonably priced (around $25) and include headsets, which is a great touch. The building itself is beautifully designed with sweeping ceilings and a bright, welcoming foyer that houses a café, restaurant, ticket counter, and access to toilets, a drinking fountain, and exhibition spaces. The layout is accessible and easy to navigate, and the facilities (including the toilets) are clean and well maintained. There’s also two floors of undercover parking located downstairs, accessible via lift. Parking payment is made at kiosks by card.

I highly recommend the Māori experience! It’s not a show but a sharing of culture. So don’t expect a long form of entertainment. I really enjoyed being part of it and being able to ask questions afterwards. The museum itself had a lot of items from many different wars and countries! It was interesting to see whole fighter planes up close! I’m only a bit disappointed that the main Māori exhibit is closed at the moment but it was definitely an informative time!

They discounted my ticket because so many exhibits were closed but I was still disappointed. I really went out of my way to get here from the cbd and there were only a couple of interesting exhibits. Further, I went here on a weekend and experienced a lot of small children screaming and running around. I believe because admission is free for locals and parents were looking for a way to occupy their children. I enjoyed the war memorial exhibition, but was disappointed parents didn’t explain to their children that the exhibit deserved a little respect. I would recommend avoiding this museum when children are not in school.

A well planned out museum for both young and old. The history of New Zealand's people both first nation and the rest are presented to us both visually and physically in items of historic value. Parking is limited especially during school holidays, weekends and public holidays. Excellent 👍 👌

The views of the city from the outside of its building are breathtaking.. inside there is the ground level, level 1 and level 2 to visit. There is an entrance fee, at this moment, the fee has been reduced to $27 due to renovations in progress...Level 1 has a volcano display but their room of a volcano erupting simulation is so magnificently done ..a section of Mãori Natural History facts + display...many more. ... Level 2 is all about War and Remembrance with sections including New Zealand at War, Spitfire, WWI hall of memories, WW2 onwards,, WW2 hall of memories, and many more sections to visit.. All and All, we spent over 4 1/2 hours visiting and we still didn't see all completely.. this museum surpassed my expectations.. I wish they had possibilities of going a second day to fully visit the rest even if they charged a little more....it's a must to see ..

This museum is pretty great and big enough that you could easily spend a whole day wandering. There is a large section that is geared towards kids, which is nice for folks with young kids. One downside is that this isn't a particularly walkable location to reach. We walked from the Parnell train stop and the sidewalks are so nonsensical that we gave up and walked across the grass. The reason that sidewalk business didn't lower the score I'm giving the museum is because the Māori Cultural Experience more than makes up for it. I'd rank this as an absolute MUST see/experience for anyone visiting. The folks from (or involved with) the Tūrongo Collective have crafted a truly memorable experience and I am grateful for having been able to see and experience it.

We had my daughters birthday party here and hired the room which worked out to be more affordable and we were able to invite more guests. We were allowed to do our own catering which made it even better and the tour guide was amazing. Even though we were late staff were great and polite and friendly. We felt right at home. the kids loved it! The parents loved it too! So worth it.

SEA LIFE is a wonderful place to explore and learn about marine life. The aquarium is beautifully designed, clean, and very well maintained. From colourful fish to giant stingrays, penguins, and sharks swimming right above you — every moment feels magical! It’s a great place for both kids and adults, with lots of interesting displays and educational information. The penguin encounter and underwater tunnel are definitely the highlights. Staff are friendly and helpful, making the visit even more enjoyable. A must-visit attraction in Auckland for anyone who loves sea creatures and ocean adventures! 🌊🐧🐠

The aquarium overall was a pretty good experience. Great place if you love seeing penguins, turtles, sharks, jelly fish and other sea life creatures. Compared to other Sea Life we’ve been, it is smaller but it’s still a fun activity.

Best aquarium to be in! Clean out space lots of species found in aquatic animals. Best is to watch jelly fishes, nemo, dory fish, turtles, sharks underwater tunnel. Would highly recommend to visit this aquarium. Clean, hygienic, safe, food availability, washrooms facility available, lovely watching had good time been here. Totally worth it loved it ! Only if they could keep good clean space for penguins that would be great!

Great little sea life centre. Lots to see for the children and a few interactive areas. In the middle of the centre they have a quaint little soft play area with a cafe. Really enjoyed our visit here. Would have received 5 stars but deducted one for the coffee which was terrible.

We enjoyed our time at the aquarium. It does get busy but we went early so it was not that busy. The "moving bridge" was awesome and the Penguins stole the show. The Jellyfish was beautiful and the underwater experience was amazing. My daughter enjoyed the VR experience as well.

I had been wanting to take my kids to this place and we never regretted it. I, myself was amazed by all the animals in there. We enjoyed looking at and taking pictures of each of them. It is highly recommended for all families out there in NZ.

Had a lovely brunch here, in beautiful weather. The atmosphere is so inviting, we watched the boats and even some youngsters fish and release with complete joy. The muesli was the star for me. Perfect blend of crunchy, toasted, sweet and fresh. Welcoming and efficient staff rounded off the experience. I may be out of date but unisex bathrooms are still hard to wrap my head around.

Good view by looking at harbour. Nice to see boats at pier, to enjoy sea breeze. The staff are friendly, despite changed few seats due to sun ray. The Avocado and pouch eggs were delicious, can taste the freshness of avocado. The coffee was great too.

The food was truly excellent, and the host was incredibly wonderful. The view of the harbor or wharf was really nice, particularly when they pulled open the side doors, allowing the breeze to come in. The duck was cooked perfectly, and it paired beautifully with the Pinot Noir. Cheesecake was the perfect finish to a very enjoyable meal.

Went here for a birthday dinner. We ordered oysters and artisan bread for entree... unfortunately the oysters we in the small side and the tempura batter overpowered any oyster flavour as a result. For mains I had the Canterbury Duck which was extremely tasty. My partner had the Snapper which was delicious but unfortunately the chips had been cremated. And literally left a burnt taste in the mouth. Only other point to make was we were not made aware that to choose anything but tap water would result in a $14 charge for the bottle. Service was good and the atmosphere was romantic, candles and low lighting. Food felt overpriced but was in line with other restaurants in area.

It was slightly difficult to find thhe restaurant because the entrance was located intersection of the building complex. I ordered Angus scotch filled, and two glass wine. Dishes were delicious and the mood was calm and peaceful, moreover it was beside a habor, so atmosphere was more romantic. But sometimes big laugh was heard from a neghbor restaurant. I recommend your visit to there.

Had dinner here last night with colleagues and absolutely loved it! The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was outstanding. We shared the seafood platter and lamb shoulder — both were delicious and full of flavour. Highly recommend for a quality dining experience in Auckland!

Went on a Saturday evening and were served a very pleasant waiter from Spain. Unfortunately, we were kept waiting for our main course for well over an hour before the waiter advised us that my wife's chosen meal would be unavailable as the kitchen did not have the appropriate ingredients. We were then served with meals that were prepared in less that 10 minutes, one of which was cold (presumably because it had been kept waiting) and the other a chicken dish which was very oily and also not warm. I doubt we'll be going back again; we also had a poor experience just after the original Covid scare, but felt we should give the restaurant a second chance in more normal circumstances. Unfortunately, they failed.

Our server, Ken was amazing. Food was delicious and paced really well. My daughter loved her chicken mains. The lamb was wonderful. Shoutout to Adel for being super accommodating to my little daughter. He and Ken made our night so fun.

Had high hopes when coming here unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. We went for the deluxe tasting menu with matching wines. Sadly only once did the wine enhance the meal over 7 courses. The "main" was eye fillet steak which was way under seasoned. The dessert was by far the best meal we had throughout the evening. While the service was ok, on more than one occasion we received the meal before the wine which isn't ideal.

My wife and I came here as our "splurge" dinner during our honeymoon in New Zealand and we will remember it forever. The food, the views, the service, and the atmosphere were all top notch. Although the price is... shockingly high, the tasting menu with the wine pairings was absolutely worth it. The chef himself, Peter Gordon, brought out our main course. Cocktails are also very good here.

Would say 3.5 stars, but I am feeling generous today. View = amazing. Obviously! Service = Really good! Food = Average.... Small portions. The entrees were probably the best meals of the night (Octopus and the Crayfish Linguine) The mains we had were the duck and the lamb and they were good, but nothing stood out about them. The desserts were pretty normal as well. I think i expected more and went home slightly hungry still. 3.5.

Selected the tasting menu which was superb, the staff had a great knowledge of the plates they were serving, each course was a delight. Going with the tasting option gave us the opportunity to sample the dishes we wouldn't ordinarily select. Learnt some fantastic new palate and flavor mixes. The head chef visited us and personally grated the fresh Christchurch Truffle which was amazing. All in all we can't fault the experience. Pricey yes but well worth it. Sorry the food pictures don't do the meal justice.

Phenomenal. Staff were friendly, polite and accommodating. Food was delicious to say the least and we thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu and wine pairings. Highly recommend splashing out to make the most of the menu available.

Delightful experience with a beautiful view of the Harbour Bridge. It took us around 3h to complete our meal, but time flies when you're having fun, aye? All dishes had a variety of flavours, colours, and textures. You can see effort has been made to maximize the effect on our taste buds and overall eating experience. The wine pairing was beautifully done with each wine really complimenting the flavours of the food. I think the big winner here was the Hapuka dish paired with the Huia Sauvignon Blanc - outstanding! The beef was also perfectly cooked medium rare and super tender. The prawn-based amuse bouche was extremely moorish. One of the snacks was a deep-fried lamb ball which, for someone who dislikes lamb, was quite delicious! Overall a great experience with friendly staff

Choose this restaurant near the harbour for our first dinner in Auckland. It’s a bit pricey especially for their wines but the food is great. From the oysters to the dessert of petite four they were all good and tasty. The ambience is excellent as it’s just next to the harbour. Though it’s a seafood restaurant the braised short rib we had was very tasty and tender. When we return to Auckland before flying home perhaps we’ll return for other items.

"sir , would you like to have dessert? " "Actually, if I have room for dessert, I'd rather use that space for more oysters". They were that good. I had 3 dozen all by myself. They were by far the best I've ever had. The prawns. Ufff. I was ravenous. Excellent fresh seafood and great service. They will leave a lasting impression upon my tummy and my soul for if gluttony is a sin I am guilty.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We tried the $39 menu at Harbourside and were blown away. The sourdough starter came out warm, perfectly chewy, and the nutty brown butter it was served with was just divine. The green-lipped mussels were fresh, plump, and sitting in the most beautiful sauce that I couldn’t get enough of. The steak was cooked beautifully, and the jus with its rich sauce took it to another level. Sides were also standouts… crisp broccolini for freshness, the cheesiest, yummiest mac & cheese, and honestly the best fries I’ve had in the city. On top of the food, the service was outstanding… attentive, warm, and genuine. The lovely girl who looked after us made the experience even better, and it’s rare to find that kind of service in the city. Highly recommend!

Fabulous views and great tasting food couldn't quite lift the poor service. We had a balcony table (as requested when we made reservation) but then waited ages for 4 tiny bits of bread as pre-starter. Luke-warm starter arrived, dropped cutlery stayed on floor, wine was poured when waiter remembered. No upselling to 2nd bottle. No upselling of aperitif cocktail. Waited over 20 mins for mains plates to be cleared after having been seen & noted by at least 3 other waiting staff. No coffee upsold. The food & wine were lovely, the ambience and views brilliant but service could have lifted this to 5 star.

Nice views with a little rustic feel. The stairs can be daunting in a long dress and place usually gets quite crowded. We were lucky to get a spot without reservation around closing time. It was more of a late night snack but there were other options if you needed more. Mocktails and prawns were yummy.

Central city venue that was convenient to us looking for somewhere in the heart of Auckland...and it was well staffed. I have had better food options here in the past. This time I didn't get the authentication of "tasty" Mexican food. Service was obliging but only after being prompted by us. However staff were very friendly. Sadly the food was not up to previous standards.

The OG Mexican Restaurant in Victoria St for decades. Visited recently after a long hiatus. Thought was closed down..but still operating. The food is decent and suggest stay on the authentic Mexican dishes. I had the fish which had a bit of a fishy smell. For desserts the churros was below bar..but the brownie was good.Otherwise a decent Mexican dishes and atmosphere. From my knowledge this place has been operating from the 80s.

We happened to meet the manager Mr. Imran, he was amazing, recommended us the right dishes. The ambiance of the place is phenomenal. Definitely coming back!

A great Mexican atmosphere with food to match and a busy vibe. Staff were very courteous even under pressure from a busy night. A noticeable wait between 2 meals being served and the other 2 but we didn't mind. Probably not the spot for quiet dinner and conversation but that's not what we were looking for. Have eaten here before and will return. Very reasonable prices.

Grand Harbour mistreats the seafood they serve, keeping lobsters and fish crammed into small, poorly maintained tanks with little regard for the animals themselves. The sight of it alone makes you question how fresh or ethical the food can be. On top of that, the prices are outrageously high for what’s offered—tiny portions that hardly justify the cost. It feels like customers are being charged premium rates for poorly treated animals and disappointing meals.

This Chinese restaurant has been here for a long time and one of the more popular ones. I was here some years ago, the food was good and now, still as good. The steam fish we had was the blue cod. It was like the 'ikan hantu' or 'soon hock' we called back in Malaysia. The blue cod meat here is softer than the soon hock. The long beans was just deliciously fried with minced meat. I love the braised tau foo with pak choy and seafood, it was nicely done. The four kinds meat platter was surprisingly good too. Not forgetting the seafood fried rice, it was yummy too.

Great place to experience Yum Cha, Food is great and has good selection of Hong Kong style food for all appetites and family diet preferences. Well priced and value for money.

The food is nice 😊, kids love the roast peking duck with pancake. Lobster with fried rice must try too. 😙

The best Yum Cha in Auckland! The restaurant has a spacious layout, friendly servers, and a great variety of dishes. There’s also plenty of parking available nearby, making it super convenient.

We only planed on having a drink or two but after seeing the pizza’s ended up coming back and eating here. Unfortunately due to supply issues we didn’t get basil on the pizza and it wasn’t buffalo mozzarella but it was still good. The hero of the night was the parmesan truffle fries highly recommend !! The staff were very friendly.

Large table arrangements make it a great meeting spot for a dozen or more people. Great staff serving the tables. Plus it’s dog and kids friendly! McLeod’s Paradise craft beer on tab & very large sized pizzas with excellent crust and topics, all make it an excellent choice to come here for leisure or business. Only downside is the parking in the area, depending on time and date can be challenging, lots easier when you come by foot, ferry, bus or scooter ;)

An incredible evening with my grandmother thanks to Berta and Daniel. Was quite chilly outside with no space inside for two inside, so he brought around a heater, hot water bottles, and blankets for us to keep warm at sunset. Food was impeccable, and the sweet potato fries are a must. Great service and wonderful food with a prime location right on the wharf.

Had lunch and Flat White Espresso Martinis. Loved the drinks and adored the baked brie, fish bites, and prawns, which had a surprising presentation. Outlook over the water was an added bonus. Thank you Daniel and team for looking after us.

So happy to recommend The Conservatory! we held our staff Christmas function there last weekend and our team is still talking about it. From the moment we engaged with the venue we knew we were in good hands and that was proved beyond our imagination on Saturday. The premises are gorgeous located right on the water, and the staff cannot do enough to provide the best service. We looked for restaurant for light lunch after walking beside the harbour side, this restaurant rates the highest among. We picked sashimi & lamb and asked if portion are fine with 2 people, staff recommended prawn toast which I forgot to take picture😫 it’s crispy and tasty too! Highly recommend this restaurant!

The Asian fusion menu was so delicious. They were good at catering to dietaries and even had sake and soju on the menu. We had a great work dinner out and would definitely come back in the future. I liked the location on the harbour too.

Came here for my boyfriend’s birthday meal. We were served by Lizzie who was so friendly and helpful. We didn’t know what to order, so we got the $95 discovery menu. They just kept bringing food out, and everything was delicious! The highlight was the lamb shoulder with a delicious rich sauce, steamed rice & broccoli. The desert of the crème brûlée cheesecake was amazing also. Really enjoyable evening. The music is quite lively & loud, if you want a quiet, intimate dinner then this is not the venue for you

Such a great dining experience. Buzzing. But not too loud. Impeccable service, thank you Georgia. All the staff were knowledgable and helpful. Food was next level. Prawn and crab toast, sashimi - amazingly fresh. Pork belly, crispy and so flavoursome. Slow cooked carrots were just delicious. Drinks menu extensive and well suited. Deserts - I cannot rate them more highly. Very busy. As they should be - book in advance. It was our last night in NZ and a brilliant end to a truly great epicurean tour of the north island. Thank you so much.

A good example of Asian fusion cuisine. Overall, everything was good. Nothing particularly bad, but also nothing especially memorable. The staff were attentive and professional, just as you'd expect at a fine restaurant. However, the atmosphere felt more like a pub during busy hours. Distracting due to noise from guests, the kitchen, and loud background music, making it hard to hold a proper conversation.

Had such a good meal when I ate here during my vacation! I haven't had a week since without thinking about it! The staff was kind, prices were reasonable, the location is perfect, nothing bad to say; I will come back to New Zealand, and visit Hello Beasty again for sure!

Georgina was a lovely host. The food does take a while to come out but it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was flavorful and juicy, the cheesecake had just the right amount of sweetness without being overly sugary and the dumplings with the sauce.... it hit the spot. I like that some items can be reduced in size to accommodate a person who is eating by themselves.

Went here with a colleague for dinner while we were in Auckland for work. I enjoy Mexican so we thought we would give this place a try. Lovely staff - all really attentive. The wine was nice and we got served a lot of food the price really - however the flavour did lack a little for a Mexican restaurant if I’m honest. I did enjoy mine to an extent, it was all fresh and served very quickly which was good - but I likely wouldn’t dine here again unfortunately. Located in a great spot for people watching though and the cocktails did look good!

Prime location, food is so so. Suitable for work gather or groups. It’s a little pricey but understandable due to location rent and costs etc but you will be sitting right in front of water which is nice. I won’t go into detail about the food because it’s somewhere between acceptable and not bad…, will leave it to your own judgment.

We had dinner at Frida Cocina Mexicana at Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour. The setting is casual and unpretentious — more of a laid-back lunch spot, but it worked fine for a relaxed evening meal. Service was friendly and very quick, which we appreciated. The frozen margarita was refreshing, and the food was tasty and came out fast. Overall, it’s a nice place if you’re looking for a simple, quick, and satisfying Mexican meal in a central location.

Food was amazing, coming from Latin America and living in Australia this is so far one of the best Mexican restaurants in this side of the world I have tried. The pork belly was beautifully cooked and birria tacos were made with corn as promised. Actually quite surprised it doesn’t have better reviews, maybe people is not used to authentic Mexican cuisine and are more into the tex mex stuff???

My go to Mexican restaurant in Auckland! I am originally from Texas where Mexican food is amazing so it’s really difficult to impress me but Frida tastes amazing every time! I usually get their carnitas tacos. They are also the only place I’ve found so far that actually has a margarita machine! Love their frozen watermelon margaritas. Only thing that I don’t enjoy there is their rice, but that’s fine by me!

In summarise the food did not convince me. That staff was very friendly, it was fast to serve, the location is very nice. But because this is a restaurant and food matters, I can not give more than 3 stars.

Hola (hi), we went out for dinner with another couple and ordered some entrees to share plus our main dishes. The service was great and also the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. The food presentation is appealing, but the flavour/taste is okay. Nothing outstanding. Good place to be around the Viaduct, but don't expect a fancy and tasty dine-in.

The Team at The Grange are awesome! I hosted a bridal shower in the Private Room - such a gorgeous room with plenty of space in it. It is decorated really nicely, has warm heaters inside which was awesome for the freezing morning! Such a beautiful restaurant - even the toilets were immaculate! The food + drink was really amazing and the team brought out 18 + dishes to us in a really organized manner. The service was really good - the team ensured we had everything we needed and even offered to help us with extra details like letting us use their speaker for music etc. 10/10 would recommend to dine here or to host a meal here in the private room. The Grange did not dissapoint! Thank you chefs and all those who helped us at The Grange! We will be back again :)

I celebrated my 60th Birthday here last weekend. We had the private dining room and it was a beautiful setting. Warm and comfortable and was just the right space for 18 of us to enjoy the room. The staff were amazing, very attentive on the night and I had excellent communication with them leading up to the dinner arranging all the little details I wanted. The food was amazing also and everyone enjoyed their meals. I would highly recommend The Grange for any special occasion or dinner out and will be going back!

Great attitude from all waiters. Gave us options to seat because we had an infant In this meal the restaurant was about 3/4 full but still they gave us a lot of attention and kept our tables cleaned after each segment of the meal. As for the food, the price are in the middle high range but were all cooked to perfection. Seasoning and flavors all matched my taste palette and the portion were also decent. Overall this dinner experience is one of my top experiences during my 2025 NZ holiday trip. Would definitely come again.

My family and I were served by Ethan and Francis tonight - they made our night. We found them both to be the most engaging, thoughtful, helpful, can-do guys we have met in an awful long time. They totally enjoyed my 1 year old granddaughter, which made us feel very welcome. And not to overshadow the delicious food - we couldn’t fault it. My fish of the day - snapper risotto was cooked perfectly…..finished with sticky date and tiramisu. Perfect. Thanks We will be back

Hosted a graduation dinner with friends and family in the private room, the space was absolutely lovely and perfect for the occasion. The staff were all very kind and helpful. Appreciate the grange for making our celebration and night so special!

We were noisy being a group of 20; a gathering of friends who met last b4 Covid. Appreciate that we didn’t get told off n thoughtful that we were being seated at d end in the terrace. Food was good, great location n all of us praised the nice atmosphere.

We enjoyed a superb 80th birthday gathering of 22 family and close friends in the private dining room at the Grange. Excellent fixed menu choices together with an extensive wine list satisfied our guests. Service was first class with great communication re our preferred timing of drinks and food delivery. Such was the congenial environment no one wanted to leave at the end of lunch.

(April 12 Dinner) After being disappointed by the other place on Queen St., this Pinoy restaurant truly redeemed the experience! Food: The food was SO GOOD! I can’t even describe how happy we were dining here! Every single dish we ordered tasted above average, truly exceptional Filipino food! Their chef must be top-tier! Ambience: Felt just like home in the Philippines. Service: The servers were very friendly, especially Brenda! Thank you for the extra yummy bagoong for my delicious Kare-Kare!

I was so excited to learn about a Filipino restaurant in Auckland that has gotten good reviews, and so I couldn’t wait to eat there. The experience was disappointing. It did not meet my expectations. My husband ordered the pork spare ribs and he said it was so dry and overcooked. I ordered the Java rice - it tasted okay. I also ordered the pork liempo- it was bland. It was supposed to come with a side of atchara but that was absent. When I asked the server, she simply said they were out of it. If she had informed me that earlier then I would’ve ordered a different dish. The only dish that tasted good was the laing, and this is the only reason I’m giving the restaurant 2 stars. Service was poor. Once our food was served, the server didn’t check up on us to see if we needed anything, or to refill our glasses with water. I had high expectations of this restaurant based on recent reviews. Unfortunately it fell short which is too bad.

It was my first time trying Filipino food, and it was really nice to experience different flavors. I recommend the pork blood curry.

I celebrated my birthday at this amazing restaurant just last month with my mum and non-filipino friends and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From the moment we arrived, the owner, the manager/dessert expert, and the chef all went above and beyond to prepare for the dinner celebration and make the night special. Their customer service was truly exceptional — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish packed full of flavor and authenticity. I went with a group of friends and the overall dining experience was incredibly nice. The service was amazing as the staff members were very accommodating and kind to us. We also really enjoyed the lechon kawali, beef and pork kare kare, and the chicken special for the day. Everything tasted great, so I highly recommend this place.

Went there for the restaurant month menu. Food was quite good and nicely presented. All three courses were yum, did expect slightly better dessert than pop corns in caramel sauce though. The only thing we were quite unhappy about is the waitress kept taking the plates away with food in them. We kept telling her off but somehow she didn’t get the message or chose to ignore us. This made the experience quite unpleasant for some of us that lost a lot of food.

Have heard a lot of good things about Esther however my personal experience there was a tiny disappointing. The starters were pretty good, especially the meatballs and the pizetta but the rest were quite average. The main dish and salad (unsure why) was overly salted for my liking. Service was neither good nor bad, just felt that it was slightly difficult to get the staff attention when needed. I reckon it might be due to the layout of the restaurant. Overall it wasn’t too bad, ok food with an ok service in an ok environment.

This was my first visit to this place to celebrate my sister's birthday, and this weekend, we had the Monaco lunch. The dishes are served according to the course, and everything was delicious. The seasoning was perfectly balanced—not too salty, not bland, and not greasy—so even someone like me, an East Asian, could really appreciate the flavors of French cuisine. The atmosphere of the place was also great, and watching the open kitchen added to the experience. The staff were incredibly bright and friendly, which made the meal even more enjoyable. Now, whenever I visit Auckland, this is definitely one of the places I want to dine at with friends.

We only had a short time to pop into Esther on our day out around Auckland. We had the Taramasalata and Puff Bread which was absolutely delicious - the bread obviously fresh out of the oven. We also had the Trevally crudo - it was fresh and delicious. Friendly service and lovely atmosphere. Thanks for a great lunch Esther ☺️

The service, particularly from a Mexican waitress, was excellent—she was very helpful, attentive, and provided superb drink recommendations. The restaurant itself was beautiful and cozy. While the drinks and appetizers were good, the main course was unfortunately excessively salty. When we raised this concern while paying the bill, we were told the dish was currently being 'trialed.' A dish should be perfected before it's put on the menu and sold to paying customers. What started as a promising evening ended up being deeply disappointing.

I first heard of Esther through a YouTube review by Chasing a Plate. Tried Esther for the first time back in July 2023 when I was last in Auckland. My experience then was everything I had been expecting Forward to May 2025 when I am able to be back in Auckland again and Esther was a must stop again for me. Once again thoroughly enjoyed my dinner For me everything was done just right from the complimentary soup at the start to set the palate right then onto the tender bite sized lamb souvlaki. It was juicy pieces of meat instead of pieces of burnt up charcoals that can happen at some other restaurants The Kingfish crudo was delightfully light and refreshing The steak beautifully done I believe over an actual charcoal fire combined perfectly with the Duck Fat Potatoes and Witlof Salad well balanced with a beautiful vinaigrette and hummus The Apple tart was a surprise - size and taste. The Limoncello and oatmilk Hot Chocolate was the perfect finish to this wonderful dinner Love finding little gems like this establishment during my travels

A fairly limited and predictable menu, however what came was very tasty and well presented. I had the fish and chips and I haven't had such a nice fish and chips for a long time. Well done on that one. The only actual criticism I had was Service was incredibly slow, taking 15 minutes to check whether we wanted the desert menu was a bit long. I would go again, but I would allocate more time to the experience.

She anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, and his recommendations were spot on. Dining out is always about more than just the food, and thanks to Andy, this visit felt personal, memorable, and truly enjoyable. I can’t wait to come back—and I’ll definitely be asking for Andy again!

Had drinks with friends here and it the food & drinks were so nice. $60 pink cocktail trees and $1 chicken nibbles from 4pm were so yum and worth the price! Just didn’t like the background music was a bit boring however if you’re just going to catch up and have drinks with the girls it’s a good spot! Also our Spanish waitress was really cool! Great customer service!

About a month ago, I hosted my daughter’s 21st birthday here, and it was such a wonderful experience! We worked with T, and honestly, nothing was too much trouble. He made the whole process so easy and stress-free, and really got us excited for the event. The event package offered was just perfect—flexible, practical, and at a great price. The venue itself is a beautiful blank canvas, and we decorated it with 100 helium balloons, which looked stunning. I also loved that the TV screens and sound system were included at no extra charge. On the night of the event, Isaac was overseeing everything, and he was an absolute superstar. He made sure the food was flowing smoothly, managed the cake and dishes, and kept the sound system running perfectly. Plus, he kept me updated on our bar tab throughout the night. The entire team was fantastic, and I honestly can’t recommend this venue enough! It truly made my daughter’s special day even more memorable.

Commercial Bay is such a vibrant and modern spot in the heart of Auckland. I love the variety of shops here – from international brands to unique local boutiques. The Harbour Eats food court is fantastic, offering so many different cuisines at reasonable prices. The design of the space is bright and inviting, making it a great place to shop, eat, or just hang out. Definitely one of my favorite places in the city.

A great ‘go-to’ for when you have a couple or group that isn’t sure what they want to eat or has very different tastes. A nice environment with great variation in cuisine upstairs and light shopping downstairs. Nice little hidden gems and cool spot to hang out and have a cold one.

One of my favourite places in Auckland to hang out! Amazing food court with lots of food options. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options available! Nice shops and a very pretty building. Free wifi, clean toilets. A great place to stroll around and spend some time. Directly next to the harbour and in a great location.

We booked a table for 4 on Saturday. We had two amazing servers, unfortunately we didn’t get one their names. But one was named Megan. *sorry if I spelt that wrong* Megan was friendly, very professional & took care of our table/drinks efficiently. The drink options were great & tasty. The putt putt activity here is super fun — perfect for a night out with friends while enjoying some drinks! 💃🍹 The fried chicken was delicious, and the kumara fries were great too. But honestly, the pizza was quite disappointing this time. I ordered the Meaty Lover, but there was barely any meat on it, and the dough was soggy — like it wasn’t fully cooked. When I came here with my workmates about a year ago, the pizza was way better! Hope they can bring back that same quality again 🙏

We came here to celebrate my friend’s birthday on a night out and had such a great time! Best mini golf courses I’ve played at, so original and we just loved the designs, it’s so clever. Yummy drinks and a cool vibe. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Thanks for an excellent night ✌🏻

On Tuesday night we had an incident with one of our orders but the manager was very kind, and understanding. She also gave me a new meal and she gave our whole table a full refund! I will definitely be back.

Every thing is 5 star and beyond!! From the moment we walked in we felt a comforting atmosphere and it kept getting better as the night went on. The bar staff are super polite and friendly which makes them approachable. Low and behold, our dinner arrives and the live band begins. What can I say, a superb pub with delicious food and amazing people.

Really nice bar. I can’t comment on the night life but for a Sunday lunch it’s chill and comfortable. I was lucky enough to get a spot beside the fire to read my book. The Caesar salad is top notch and the staff seemed very friendly.

We took the lunchtime option and oh wow, wonderfully delicious food. Excellent portion. Great value for money, traditional but classy at the same time. *Very highly recommend* wish we had you nearer to us -Germany- we would always be here!! We will be back when we are next in Auckland.

We had an amazing time dancing the night away to the live music. The bar staff were friendly and the crowd was really nice. Everyone was dancing with everyone. 10/10 - would go back.

Had the Sunday Roast for $35 NZD - a huge serve of vegetables, a massive Yorkshire pudding and 3 very thin small slices of lamb. A little underwhelming if you’re looking for protein. The pork serving was a little bigger so better value. Was OK but not great, wouldn’t choose again. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

Grabbed a drink and danced the night away! Superb crowd, fast service, and we had an absolute blast with the music selections. Unfortunately, we couldn’t return because the stamp that you get at the entrance faded too quickly. I wish the staff would use better ones next time so we can get our money’s worth when bar hopping. Overall, it was a great experience for me and my BFF!

A Sunday, after a few weeks traveling and, to be honest, a couple of meals in Aukland that did not live up to expectations; and we were craving a traditional Sunday roast. Then my wife spotted Danny Doolan's while we were out walking in the evening. A traditional Sunday roast with all the trimmings and a complementary drink, all for a very reasonable price. This was just what the doctor ordered (well perhaps not if said doctor was concerned about our waistlines, as the portions were generous). We also enjoyed the music, which included a lot of 70s and 80s stuff that reminded us that at one point in time we were young! I understand that they also have live music every night, although on this occasion we did not stay for that.
