Was initially shocked at the prices of their specialty cones but now that I’ve tasted the quality I think it would be worth the splurge if you were sharing. The service was amazing. The lady was very patient with me when I tried a few flavours. I treated myself to a large cup with 3 flavours as they were just soooo good!! The kumera (and orange?) one was the highlight. I recon it might just be the best ice cream I’ve ever had (I’ve had a lot haha) Will definitely be back!!! Staff was very helpful and friendly. Lots of flavours to choose from and you get to taste them before you commit. The gelato was tasty but on the sweeter side. The cone was unique, very crispy and had a nice warm, nutty, malty flavour. Very nice space to sit and chill with yummy desserts.

Delicious ice cream, served in cups or fanciful cones, along with a few bakery items, in a dedicated gluten-free facility, so perfect for people who have Celiac. The seating is tight, and pigeons hunt for scraps, but there are water spray bottles to ward off the pigeons if necessary (not an issue while we were there). A regular sized cup with two flavors was NZD $9.50 when we visited on a weekend in October 2025. The Waitemata (aka Britomart) Station is a couple of blocks away, so if you drive you might want to park in their car park, since there isn't much parking on the busy city street where the ice cream shop is located.

Giapo is an experience! They have wide variety of ice cream flavors. Its my first time in Auckland of course I had to get the World Famous Hokey Pokey. Guess what? It did not disappoint! Its world famous for a reason! If you’re unsure what to get, they’ll let you try any flavor, just ask! There were types of cones you can choose from which they make for you upon ordering. You just have to wait for at least 5 minutes (depends on the line of course). I got my hokey pokey ice cream partnered with a warm brookie ❤️ it was so good! Its something I’ll miss! Looking forward now to my next visit to Auckland!

Tried the Squid cone (Mascarpone + Nutella flavour) and the broken cone Rabri ice cream. Though a bit expensive the flavours were great, and the customer service was outstanding.

Absolutely amazing all of it the service, the atmosphere and the food! I am from South Auckland and I travelled the distance just to try it and did not disappoint! Highly recommend the short bread cookies they crumble perfectly in your mouth. My favourite out of the 4 items I purchased was the cheesecake the whole thing was delicious. My husband and I will go back again and try the Banoffee pie and creme brûlée. Thank you

One of my favourite cafes in Auckland (this and the factory), especially their cakes. Never had a disappointment on whichever I chose. They had a few discounted products on the weekend that I visited. Happy with the taste and the comfortable atmosphere.

We went for a little drive to the city to end our dinner with some yummy dessert. I told my nieces to surprise me as we were celebrating my early birthday and they chose the tasting platter. I only ate two and took the rest home but my two faves were the lemon meringue tart and the banoffee. The girls all had ice cream and they loved it. Lovely way to end the night

Amazing matcha the mont blanc on top was absolutely yum. Will definitely come back for more. The strawberry jelly underneath was a sweet kick that did not appeal to me but the matcha was delish.

I was so happy to find Miann as not many places are open late in the CBD when you are craving a sweet treat. The staff were very friendly even though it was quite busy when we went. They had a wide variety of beautiful looking desserts, ice cream and an amazing hot chocolate selection. We got the dark hot chocolate and the smores hot chocolate. They were both so tasty and rich which is what we wanted. The desserts all contained gelatine and so not many vegetarian options but other than that it was lovely.

This is a high end dessert place right easily assessable from the entrance of Britomart train station. I've tried the creme brulee and I must say, it is pretty nice. The serving size for it is good for the price, big enough to be shared between two people (but not too big that I can't have it all to myself). It has a very nice bougie atmosphere and the music thankfully isn't too loud.

What an amazing place! Visited The Chocolate Boutique Café on a very wet and rainy day. We loved the warm and cosy atmosphere as well as the hot chocolate and a decadent chocolate waffle. The Black Forest waffle was a first for me, but a must try if you like fruit with your ice-cream. Of course we couldn't leave without taking a few sweet treats home with us. We'll definitely be back for more!

Little chocolate/sweet shops with a menu of desserts and hot drinks. I enjoyed the submarino dark chocolate - not too sweet or synthetic. It was a rainy day so sat indoors but seems they have nice outdoor seating too. They do also sell their hot chocolate powder and a variety of gift chocolates. Nice that it's open late!

Love love this place! The moment I have tried their hot chocolate, all the other hot chocolate I just noticed it. I especially love the denso range which is the thick hot chocolate. Definitely recommend this place for people with the sweet tooth and love for chocolates! Their cakes and deserts are also too good!

Lovely little cafe, will be nice to sit outside in the summer. We visited in autumn so it was a bit chilly outside so sat indoors near the back to see the views. Service was very friendly and prompt. Ordered hot chocolates and desserts, all very yummy, although I would only say I prefer my hot drinks scalding, so wasn't as hot as I usually like but still very delicious.

Awesome place, the food is amazing and people who work there are really nice. Also the atmosphere and decoration is soooo beautiful. I'll definitely go again.

Nice little shop that makes their on chocolates. I liked the dark chocolate orange. Lots of variety of chocolates. The seating at the back is lovely and it felt like a connected village. There’s a cool red phone booth outside for photos.

We ordered a Saint Honore cake for a family gathering, and the whole family loved it. The cake was not only beautifully designed, but the flavours were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a delicious treat for any occasion. We'll definitely be coming back for more!

Absolutely divine sweets and pastries at this French café in Parnell. A bit on the pricey side, but definitely worth it for the quality and flavour. I’ve bought cakes from here a few times and they’ve always been a hit, everyone loved them! Their mini desserts are also a favourite of mine so beautifully made and delicious.

Our team attended Sonia’s pasty class for layered cakes which was excellent. The atmosphere was lovely and Sonia’s incredibly knowledgeable. We all learnt great tips and techniques to take back to our workplace along with our lovely layered cakes to share with our loved ones. Thanks Sonia! We will be back again.

We ordered online "saint honore" for $72.00 This French birthday cake has one size only. The cake looked beautiful, fresh, and so delicious. We called them before we picked it up, and the staff made it packed in the box already for us. The location of the shop is in the small street, luckily they have 5 minutes park area so easily for us to got the car.

This is my "To go to" place for Birthday Cakes. The Zora cake is my favourite. Not too sweet. Tastes divine, can easily eat 2 or 3 slices at a time it's so good. The quality & artistry is 5 Star. It's easy to order online, pickup is seamless...

The best Patisserie in Auckland. Adorable cafe, delicious desserts, always great customer service. Recently I’ve ordered limited cake Opera for Father’s Day and it was yummy. Highly recommend Vaniye Patisserie.

Definitely a five-star restaurant you should book in advance. We went for lunch at 12 on Saturday and it was almost fully booked. Both the kawahai seafood and the spaghetti pasta were excellent, we finished every bite! For drinks, I highly recommend trying their signature options, whether cold or hot. I’ll definitely be coming back for any occasion.

Nice and cozy restaurant/cafe/bakery spot. Tried out their pasta for lunch. A friend recommended their Scampi pasta and did not regret. We also got their Pappardelle, Lamb Ragu. Decent serving portion. We also checked out their bakery section afterwards and got a Creme Brûlée donut as a sweet treat. The donut was packed with creamy custard inside along with the burnt sugar on the outside which balanced out the sweetness. Definitely recommend if you’re visiting Auckland and looking for a chill place for lunch or dinner.

Been hearing about this place for sometime. So we booked lunch today for a very special occasion. The food indeed was delicious. I got to taste a bit of everyone's order lol. Venue isn't bad at all. Was really busy I can see. A bit crowded for the size and they can spruce the place up a bit in my opinion. After all everyone's paying sort of top dollar. Service was overall good and attentive ... could use a bit more smiles guys. I found corkage fee for bringing your own small birthday day cake a bit over the top especially when we aren't asking for extra plates or cutlery. Going back? For the food...definitely yes. otherwise hmmm...

Wow a real authentic Italian restaurant serving a fantastic menu. The sauces were heavenly and could even meet Michelin standards. The service is perfect and friendly as well as helpful. Atmosphere is like being in Italy 🇮🇹 but we are in 🇳🇿 . Abit pricey but worth every single penny 👌 👌👌👍👍👍

This restaurant more than lives up to all the great reviews. The setting, location, interior, and vibe are perfectly in tune with each other. The food is incredibly flavorful and beautifully presented. We had breakfast here, and you could truly say it’s a breakfast for champions! OMG!!! This is one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve ever visited in my life!!! Such a beautiful spacious spot with really tall windows that lits the place with natural sunlight but yet dim to give it this beautiful aesthetic n relaxed feel. They have an open concept kitchen where you could see all those professionals preparing the food 🤩 Menu is limited but from simple classic plates they create an elevated dish! You MUST VISIT when you’re in Auckland!

Excellent food and perfect ambiance. I had the best breakfast Mushroom, sourdough poached egg, Parmesan cheese. Very creamy and delicious. The coffee was fantastic. The only thing that concerned me a bit was they gave me a bar seat and I was sitting in front of the timber column and I saw 3 insects crawling to my plate and I guess it must be from the timber column. I did mention it to the server who said they usually do pest control. I hope they take it seriously. One of the highlights was their bakery next to the restaurant with fantastic croissants and bakery items.

Nice little cafe for brunch. Lots of selections for cabinet food. Quite pricey, but delicious. Large coffee is very small. I never felt a welcoming from staff. Also, tables are quite messy all the time. They will need to clean the table properly.

A lovely small cafe with paid street parking outside the cafe. Shop owner and staff were super friendly. The cafe specialises in pastry, cake, and bread; no cooked brunches. The quiche and sandwiches, and coffees were excellent. I would love to come back for their sweet pastries.

Nice vibe and so many desserts and pastries in the counter. We picked the doughnut and ordered coffee and chocolate. The doughnut was so filling, the cream and the raspberry sauce match perfectly. Hot chocolate was so great, love how strong the chocolate flavor and creamy.

A friend and I had lunch here after shopping in Newmarket - we were pretty ravenous. We ordered Earl Grey tea, fruit soda, Parmesan and fennel pasta, a savoury scone and a coconut and lemon cake. The cake was very tasty and had a great combination of flavours. The dinosaur toy is their version of an order number. Went here for lunch as I occasionally work in Newmarket and I went well after lunch and my lunch (haloumi sandwich) was discounted, which a nice surprise. Was told about the Foodprint app which tells you where there are food items that need to be sold quickly (usually around closing time) and it's a great bargain and more importantly reducing waste. Sandwich was tasty except for the lettuce - goes a bit weird if you opt to have your sandwich toasted. The raspberry cream doughnut was the highlight for me - super yummy.

We visited Little & Friday over the weekend. There was a lot of parking outside, but as usual for Auckland, not many free spaces. The cafe itself was spacious, clean, and bright. There were lots of free seats, with most people ordering takeaways when we were there around noon. The man who served us was incredibly helpful with describing what was in the cabinet and how best to serve it (e.g., how long to heat it if taking it away). We had a hard time choosing, but ended up having a breakfast focaccia bursting with flavour, a very cheesy croque monsieur, and a light custard/berry pastry. Everything was incredibly delicious and filling. The bread was incredible. Can highly recommend to anyone looking for a chill cafe with delicious food.

Love love this bakery, everything is fresh, seasonal and yummy. Have been here several times. Cabinet food to die for, pretty much everything between $7-12. The deserts here are a must try. Service is great, always place to sit and lovely girls serving.

I’m a regular here for my pecan butterscotch tub and I’m extremely frustrated and disappointed with Duck Island. I’ve encountered this situation twice where there’s literally no butterscotch at all in the tub. Please be generous with the butterscotch! I really didn’t expect a butterscotch ice cream without butterscotch! Please take note. Hopefully, Duck Island will do something about it. Thank you.

Great range of flavours, and you can get tasters before buying. The ability to buy a single scoop ice cream with two different flavoured half-scoops is fantastic - very generous with the ice cream, would definitely recommend a visit.

Dropped to one star, the staff weren't redpectful in the last two visits. Lower prices but lower quantities. They still charge for Pup-Cup $4 each without even ice-cream. Other ice-cream stores on Ponsonby rd offer Free Ice-cream for your dogs.

You may not know this but they offer the best pineapple tarts bar none! Make sure you call ahead to place your order as they go fast after every fresh bake. The owners, James and Dora, are the nicest people you'll ever meet.

Outstanding value and super friendly service. We've enjoyed bubble tea all through Asia, and this bubble tea is as close to the real thing as we've experienced in New Zealand. Sweet but not too sweet. No gimmicks. Just lightly flavoured milk or tea, ice and well cooked boba pearls. Incredible value and always served with smile. A highlight whenever we visit Auckland.

Always has fresh made gelato that you can have in a cone or a cup. Delicious flavours are available and can also mix and match. They freshly cook Mrs Higgins cookies every day to. So soyummy great place for a quick treat. Get down there and load up on yummys

Gelato was good , hazelnut on point, pistachio 2 sweet, but to be fair that was the most saddest service and 2 scoops ever . It was like buying ice cream from a jail prisoner.

Today I had a lovely breakfast at Cereal Killa Cafe I was really happy to be selected as the first person to be able to come in and try their new amazing menu! The first dish I tried was the Big Breakfast which I loved! It had thick pieces of bread with perfectly poached eggs which was a fantastic way to start the day! Next up I had the Chicken Salad to try get that healthy balance. I really enjoyed the flavour from the chicken and the salad dressing. I would definitely order this again! For dessert I went a little crazy and got their new Chocolate Shake which was INSANELY GOOD! The Coco Pops added great texture and reminded me of my childhood. If you are looking for a sweet treat Cereal Killa Freak Shakes are a must!! As always I really enjoyed my experience at Cereal Killa Cafe as everyone is so friendly and the vibe is really cool. It was also nice talking to the owner Harry as he explained their goals of providing fresh meals made with healthier ingredients. This makes the cafe perfect for any day of the week as you can decide between delicious healthy meals or on your cheat days be a little naughty and get an incredible freak shake!

That was awesome! The place is very unassuming, just squashed in next to a row of shops, and easy to miss. But what an awesome little place! They serve breakfasts starting at $7.50 and lunch. And of course some of the most amazing shakes! Only surpassed by their totally delicious coffee. Cereal Killa Cafe: A Hidden Gem in Auckland is offering amazing food, stellar service, and unbeatable vibes. The shakes are unlike anything you've tasted before, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. Highly recommended for a unique dining experience pizza and shakes are must try .

I think this place is overrated from the tiktok videos. The chair was a bit dirty. Staff are friendly but not much attentive. We ordered chocolate mint shake. I was disappointed on the taste of it. The mint taste is not refreshing and there is a bit of after taste maybe the flavor that they use. I like the idea of putting ice cream on top. The sugar candy doesn’t really complement the drink.

I had previously taken my eldest to Cereal Killa and was very impressed. Today we returned for the legendary shakes and I am sad to say we’re bitterly disappointed. It took just shy of an hour to get 2 shakes and when they arrived they were nothing like described. For $35 for 2 shakes I expected a lot more. It was a vanilla shake with cream, a couple of lollies and a small amount of candy floss on top. I tried to make contact without leaving a negative review but when I called the premises asking to talk or for an email to contact, I was told “oh I’m new” as hung up on me. We will not be returning or recommending.

#French cafe# The coffee was rich and enjoyable, but the pastries were disappointing. The croissant was soft instead of crisp, and the mousse cake, though well-layered with a nicely balanced cherry filling, didn’t taste very fresh. Hopefully, the café can reheat pastries before serving to maintain better quality.

Lovely slice of France in Auckland cbd. I was half tucking into my delicious chicken and pesto panini when I realised I must take a pic for a review ( sorry about the bad photo skills) very nice cafe, spotlessly clean, nice selection of sandwiches and pastries and also very fine French sweets almost too good to eat. A very warm welcome from the front staff very attentive and chatty. The coffee was very good too . Would definitely be back for more , the pastries were very good 👍👍 we decided to buy more to take home for later which was particularly good for my sugar cravings after dinner 😊 Thanks

La Petite Fourchette at the Viaduct is my absolute favorite spot for a morning coffee, and for good reason! The atmosphere has a truly special French feel that is both authentic and welcoming. The coffee is consistently great, and their selection of delicacies is simply divine – a perfect treat to start the day. What truly makes this place stand out, though, is the wonderfully friendly staff. Their warm service always makes you feel welcome and is guaranteed to brighten your morning.

April 2025: Amazing quality and service. I had a beautiful champagne ham and cheese sandwich with a long black, which was exceptionally rich and smooth. What coffee beans do you use, folks? Then, I wanted to add a chocolate eclair but they were out. So they made a special one just for me. You're iconic! Please keep up the good work and maintain your exceptionally quality! July 2021: The peculiar waiter is still there. The new story goes as follows. There were quite a few people waiting for their ☕ outside. She came out with a cup, looking for the person who ordered it. First, she approached our table, when a cup of coffee was standing in front of each of us. Then, she approached another person who looked hesitant concerning whether this is the coffee that she ordered or not. Eventually this person took the coffee. However, after taking a couple of sips, she realized that it's not her order and returned it. The waiter took the cup and continued looking for their owner. She found them and tried giving it to them. Only when the owner said that there is lipstick on the cup and she can't have it, the waiter went away promising to return with another cup. @La Petite, it might be the time to take your Fourchette and get your customer service back to your standards. June 2021: They were amazing and then they hired a new staff member. She messed up our order, brought us something else and when we told her that this is not what we asked for she just took it back; we went to the counter to remind the more senior person what we actually ordered. Then she brought the dish, apologized, and smashed the coffee lit when putting the dish on the table. Will try to avoid this kind of service next time. May 2021: A real French 💎. Various goods that make it hard to choose. And the got a new set of cakes.

Accidentally discovered this unique artistic bakery cafe yesterday. Came back today by myself for my feast. Impressed by the look of the pie, more impressed by the unique pastry taste. There’s no oily buttery feels, but nicely balanced of flaky crust. Detailed mousse cake with very unique and details taste. I love strong latte. This place gonna be my top spot to chill from now on. More selections in the morning, after lunch, it’s coffee n cake time. Just like me. My emptied plates proved my reviews 🥰🥰

I'm full of chocolate!

This evening (Sunday 18th May 2025) we visited Takapuna beach cafe around 6pm on a rainy Sunday evening. After the well marketed enticing web page advertised fish and chips. The fish as marketed online is Tarakihi or snapper no option was offered at point of sale, or catch of the day… When we opened the takeaway we were visually disappointed in the heavy batter and heavy hard crumb which were overly golden, the batter per portion weighed 200g and the fish itself 100g. Even the lemons had seen better days a little dry and chopped days prior. We were told by one of the team when ordering that our order would be approx 10 mins because they weren’t overly busy - the reality was that our order took closer to 25 mins. A staff member kindly brought our order out to where we were waiting and advised that cutlery and serviettes were in the bag……. Ummmmm nope, neither were enclosed with our order. We peeled back the hard almost burnt crumb and batter glug and ate the fish itself and the small amount of chips. A few weeks prior we ordered fish and chips during lunchtime mid week and it was excellent … in quality and execution of culinary skill, freshness and service. For $48 it was overall disappointing. On a somewhat positive note - the cheesecake was excellent but there was no prices on their cabinet and when we went to pay we were rather surprised to be asked to part with $25 for 2 slices (take away) Overall, The wheels seem to have unfortunately fallen off the cafe over the last month or so … a real shame. Following owners response: Thanks for your response and offer to remedy the issue One point I’d like to make is you say that you stopped serving fish and chips from your pop up on the 11th May 2025… this may be a date typo error as we ordered takeaway fish and chips from your cafe last night - being the 18th May 2025…

We found out way more expensive than other cafes in food selections on menu. Even if they've got the amazing view, seats were uncomfortable. Main menus were all okay. But I could see that waiters do not really know about the details of menu when I asked something. They were all super nice and kind apart from that.

Stunning spot right on the water edge which perfect for brunch. Busy during weekdays as well. Staff are friendly and attentive. Food is good and portion is just nice. Good hangout place with friends and family.

We arrived during a very busy lunch service. The tables were turning over quickly though. We only waited a minute for an inside table. We thought our drinks and food would be some time but it all came very quickly. We were both impressed with the food and service. It was quite noisy due to the whole place being packed.

What a brilliant little café. It was busy when we arrived. Regardless the service was brilliant, nice friendly staff. The food was amazing. Finished off my visit with an award winning ice cream.

We had a wonderful experience at Takapuna Beach Cafe, where we celebrated a family birthday. A number of us had the crumbed fish and we also had the scampi pasta, the Moreton Bay bugs and the oysters. The food was exceptional and so fresh and flavourful. A particular highlight was our waiter, who was very engaging and who demonstrated excellent knowledge of the wine list. I visited in the morning. The eggs benedict was decent, but the daily special was surprisingly spicy and very flavorful. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but overall, I was satisfied.

Comforting food and genuinely kind service We came here for dinner with my grandma, and it turned out to be one of our favorite meals in a while. I had the chicken risotto; the chicken was perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and full of flavor. The dish was rich and comforting, just what I was hoping for. My grandma had the lentil soup, and she said it tasted exactly like how it’s made back home in Turkey, which is a huge compliment coming from her, since she’s very picky with food. In fact, she’s been craving that same soup ever since, and we’ll definitely be back for it. A little recommendation would be to add some red chilli flakes /chilli oil for a spice kick for the soup. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. They went out of their way to make sure grandma was comfortable, even bringing her hot water (she doesn’t drink tap water), which we really appreciated. The atmosphere was also lovely warm, and relaxed. Would absolutely recommend for both the food and the heartwarming service. 💛

It was a nice treat finding this ambient place in the city. We had mezze lamb burger and ceviche, which are both delicious! Paired with a cocktail and beer was the good choice.

I'm sorry to say that the food quality was not worth the $80 we paid for. The Moroccan Lamb Tangine was extremely sour and gave me a tummy ache. I loved how moist the lamb was but the sauce was appalling and I gave it back to the waiter. I tried my friend's Risotto and it tasted like the flour was not cooked properly so it had a gritty floury bitter flavor. I wish that the food didn't taste so bad but unfortunately my honest review was it was not up to par.

Booked a table for 4 for a family celebration. Food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Service was excellent despite being a very busy Saturday night. Definitely one of our go-to places for special occassions or when we have visitors craving Italian-inspired food. The espresso in my Affogato was a perfect finish to my meal. We also had a couple of glasses of Prosecco with our meal. My boys favourite dishes were the lamb ragu and beef cheek canneloni. Parking is a little tricky on Krd but possible to find street parking for our 8pm booking, with 15 minutes grace for our booking.

We loved everything we had at OTTO! So yummy and great portions. We were so full we couldn’t have desserts anymore. We’ll be back! My team was really impressed with restaurant I chose. Our server that night was phenomenal and funny. One of us was vegetarian and he took great care of her which was really nice.

5 of us for dinner on a beautiful Auckland evening. 2 of us arrived early and sat at the outside bar for a glass of wine. We then moved to a booth and opted for the set menu of 7 courses for $45 each. What a treat - food was all delicious but my favourite was the lamb rib. Most of our group opted to add a dessert, however these were all a bit chocolate heavy and I’m not a fan of chocolate desserts. My fellow dinners were all very happy. This didn’t detract anything for me as I’d eaten plenty, without being too full. I would totally recommend. With wine, the cost was still very reasonable.

I came at 8 pm, bought a banana split waffle. Honestly, it's really not okay, the waffle was not hot and it feels not really good nothing special. I bought a small cake and it tastes just not really good This is the first and last for me. and really NOT RECOMMENDED

The waffles were ok. Presentation was a bit poor, especially the chocolate/banana waffles. You couldn't even see the bananas. You'll love it if you have a sweet tooth. It was waaaay too sweet for me. The toilet was disgusting. Men's toilet didn't have a seat, which was not hygienic and made it difficult for my son to use.

I have been to a few dessert places in the past already. I think the waffles here are the best of them all. We had the berry and the s'more waffles. The waffles are crispy and the s'more that I had was fluffy and was really good. However I think their drinks are below average compare to other places like house of chocolate. I had the 70% dark chocolate but it just doesnt feel right. The gimmicky aspect was nice but I think it is lacking in flavour. My partner's ice cream mocha was better but just average. Overall will try other waffles flavour but probably opt for just a plain coffee instead.

I felt a lot of racial bias during my check-in experience. We arrived early around 1pm (check-in was at 3pm), and I completely understand that early check-ins aren’t always possible. As a Platinum member, I had hoped for some flexibility but was told the rooms weren’t ready — fair enough. We went for lunch and returned around 2pm, and the rooms still weren’t ready. However, in the 30 minutes we waited in the lobby, I saw 5–8 other guests being checked in with no issue. When I asked the same front desk lady again if our rooms were ready, she simply said, “No, they’re not ready.” When I politely insisted that she check with the housekeeping team to see if at least one of our rooms was ready so we could freshen up, relax, and plan our afternoon, she finally checked and said, “Oh, one room is ready.” That experience was quite frustrating, especially because moments earlier she had made no effort to verify. What made it more upsetting was seeing a white couple walk in and book a room on the spot — the exact same category as one of mine (around NZD $370 per night) — and they were checked in immediately. I was told other guests had “different room categories,” but clearly that wasn’t the case. If that’s not discriminatory treatment, I don’t know what is. I paid for two rooms, valet parking, dinner, and plenty of drinks — the same or more than many other guests — yet was made to feel less valued. That said, I do want to acknowledge that the rest of the staff were absolutely wonderful. The valet parking lady was so friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant and bar teams were exceptional — genuinely warm, attentive, and kind. It’s just unfortunate that the check-in experience left such a negative impression, overshadowing what could have been an otherwise beautiful stay.

The rooms were lovely, big enough for a family of 4. The Breakfast and Sundaes were great. The kids really enjoyed their ice-cream each evening. The staff at the restaurant were very helpful and friendly. On our first night, we were disappointed to arrive and be unable to valet park our car as they were full. We were told we would need to ‘find’ somewhere else to park - not helpful as we do not live in NZ and don’t know the area. We were also told that we could not pre-book a valet spot and just had to hope for the best the following day. Apart from this, all other aspects of our stay were great. The location is quite central and easy to walk to many areas in the CBD.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an excellent stay at the Mövenpick Hotel Auckland! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. The kids especially loved the daily ice cream — such a fun treat that made their stay extra special. If we could improve one thing, it would be to have easier internet access for the kids to connect to — it took a few tries to get them online. Overall, a fantastic experience and definitely deserving of five stars!

Our stay was pretty disappointing. The first room had mould in the shower, and while we were moved, we had to carry our own things and the second room also had mould. No compensation was offered. The valet parking was frustrating, with construction cars blocking the area. We even had to reverse out onto a busy street. This really didn’t feel like a five-star hotel. No pool, the gym was tiny, and there was nothing that made it feel luxurious. Breakfast was fine and the chocolate hour was nice.

The location of the hotel was perfect, and the staff were all genuinely lovely and welcoming. Unfortunately, there were a few things that made our stay less than ideal. Not all of the lifts were working, and one set of buttons didn’t work on our floor, which often led to long queues. We also had repeated trouble getting back into our room, as the key card only worked if timed exactly with the handle. The rooms felt a bit dated, and the tile design in the bathroom gave the impression of cracks or dirt. As we were checking out, we also noticed a large bug in the room, which was unpleasant. We had been looking forward to the hotel’s “chocolate hour,” but because of our late check-in we unfortunately missed it. I had checked in online beforehand, as suggested, in the hope it would make arrival smoother or add a special touch, but it didn’t seem to make much difference. A small gesture like a chocolate in the room would have been a nice welcome. Overall, while the location and staff were excellent, the practical issues with the facilities and room meant our experience didn’t quite live up to expectations

Room, Breakfast, Location and Service were good. But Wifi connection was very slow and unstable. it was same when I connected by high speed service that member could use. It was sometimes better depending on the time of day, but it was still slow. At most times, it took between one and ten minutes to open a single page of the bus timetable, and it timed out and I had to start over, making it unusable. I also tried using the LAN cable in the room, but it didn't work. After spending a few hours trying to troubleshoot the issue, I ended up purchasing a separate tethering service from my phone company. Time is especially valuable when traveling. Ollies has that old-school vibe that’s hard to come by. While I've heard that it’s changed over time, it’s still made for a fun experience! I came here for the first time with some mates and had a great time. I got the Big Ollie burger, fries, a drink, and a cheese toasty. The burger was delicious; good-quality beef and all the vibes of a proper homemade burger. The cheese toasty was simple, stringy, and satisfying. We were so full from the food that we had to skip dessert unfortunately, but I will have to return to try their famous sundaes and ice creams next time!

I hadn't been here in a while however it still lived up to my expectations. I came for a quick lunch with family and the ice cream here was the best dessert. We ordered nuggets, hot chips, hash browns, and finished off with cookies and cream ice cream. I was glad to see that this place finally has a clean bathroom. The staff were really nice and patient, and there was plenty of street parking available.

I have been coming to Ollie's for 40 years and in the 40 years. I would have always given it a five stars. But today I was very disappointed getting our regular order of a giant banana split $17.90 and what we received is half the size of the banana split we would normally get. My daughter and I had one small spoon each. I told her to stop, as I wanted to take a photo. What a shame it has come to this. I asked the staff member as I was quite shocked. They've been told to downsize the portions. There's no way you can call that a giant banana split it is now just a regular banana split.

They offer a wide range of ice cream flavours, which made it hard to choose in a good way! The prices were reasonable too. I went with a single scoop in a waffle cone and chose Hokey Pokey, a classic New Zealand flavour. It had a smooth vanilla base with crunchy hokey pokey pieces throughout and it’s really delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful, which added to the overall great experience. Definitely worth a visit!

They are Reliable, they focus on what they do well and they serve quality product. Ollies is still an absolute stalwart in the Auckland scene, so therefore it is no wonder why the restaurants foundations have stood the test of time. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Love it havent had a proper banana split in years with different ice-cream to choose from to all the toppings available. Great service. Also there is a small games area available so you can sit relax and you enjoy a yummy treat while your little ones have fun. Overall highly recommend 👌

I didn't know this store existed until a friend suggested we go. The line was pretty long (which was a good sign) and moved pretty quickly. There were way too many flavours I wanted to try, but luckily even one scoop gets you two of them, so I did that. I was surprised how busy it was on Monday night after 9pm. Had a Sundae and realized why are they so busy 😄. Really amazing flavors we had a salted caramel and peanut butter cookie dough. Stellar selection of Vegan and Dairy Free/Gluten Free ice creams. The Vanilla Passionfruit, Blood Orange Sorbet.the prices were much better than other, nearby, places. I will definitely be returning in the future!

I recently tried the Tiramisu Cake Jar from Bluebells Cakery, and it was absolutely delicious! The cake was fresh, rich, and perfectly balanced with flavors. The bakery itself is very nice, and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. What I loved most is the variety they offer – from cheesecakes and muffins to macarons, pastries, and these amazing cake jars. There are so many tempting options to choose from, and everything looks so fresh and inviting. Definitely a place worth visiting if you have a sweet tooth. Highly recommend the tiramisu cake jar!

I gotta say, this store is just awesome. The decor is all pink and super cute, and the cakes are just bursting with color and flavor. I grabbed some macarons and cupcakes for a family get-together, and let me tell you, they were a hit with everyone, kids and grown-ups alike. They really topped off our dinner perfectly. Can't wait to swing by again and enjoy some coffee and more of those amazing cakes. Oh, and shoutout to the waiter who was super nice and helpful during my visit.

Lovely cupcakes. My favourite is the banana it is so moist and delicious and I appreciate that they aren’t too sweet. The icing to cake ratio is just right and they make a lovely gift because they are so pretty. I would also like to say that I had very nice and friendly service from the blonde girl with glasses. She was chatty and friendly even during a rush and her coffee was delicious. She was caring and explained each flavour to me. Thank you for the lovely service and I look forward to returning soon!

As a tourist, my sister and I were looking for some cute cake options for our family’s bday. So pleased to have come across this shop on google with their great selection of cakes and cupcakes. Their food is perfect (the selection that we tried wasn’t too sweet and had a great taste). & to top it off we received such welcoming and friendly service which definitely made this place a must visit. Will definitely buy again during our trips to Auckland.

I go to this froyo store quite a lot and they always provide good and fresh toppings for the frozen yoghurts! It’s a self serve shop with multiple flavours that change from Time to time excluding classics like the plain yoghurt or chocolate. The toppings are always fresh and delicious and range from fresh fruit over boba to sweets and even small brownie chunks. The store additionally provides sauces and sprinkles to top the yoghurt off and also sells waffles etc. which are really good! You pay the yoghurt by weight- I usually pay around 5-10$ for the small sized cup filled almost to the brim with yoghurt and toppings. I really recommend this store!

Concerned Parent Review I’m wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. My 9-year-old has eaten KiwiYo twice, both times around 6 p.m., and each time he threw up about three hours later (around 9 p.m.) before going to bed. He’s not allergic to anything, and my other child ate the same KiwiYo with no problem, so it seems to affect only him. He normally loves frozen yoghurt, but now he completely refuses to eat KiwiYo because he associates it with getting sick. Could there be something in the ingredients that some children react to more strongly? I’d really appreciate hearing if anyone else has experienced something like this.

My go to frozen yogurt place, I purposely choose Takapuna beach when we think of a day out at a beach because of this place. My whole family can enjoy including kids as there are healthier options.

Yummmmmmmm. The cleanest fro-yo shop I've EVER been to because it didn't look like it's been destroyed by kids nor were any of the toppings uncovered and making me concerned like most others are. Plus, they had a few more soft serve flavours than just the standard ones, like I had a cookies n cream whilst there might have even been a coconut dairy free one to try. As for the toppings again, there were heaps of choices and all full up! The only saving grace for any of our waist lines is that we pick the smallest bowls so there's only so much we can fill it up with (but we try, oh do we try).

I have been here several times 🙈 & the customer service & premises have been immaculate 🥰 Today I tried the Tiramisu cookie pie, it was delightful with just a subtle hint of coffee. The cream filling was light, not too sweet & melt in ya mouth. The Biscoff hot chocolate took me to another level! Would def def get that again. Moustache in Manukau is now open until 10pm! Perfect for when you are craving that sweetie fix at 9:45pm 😁

When we arrived, there were a few people in-store, and it seemed to be a busy place, though most customers were picking up takeout. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here! The cookie pies were delicious—soft and gooey. We tried the Nutella, Cookies and Cream, Caramilk, and Biscoff flavours, and my favorite was definitely the Biscoff. The service was excellent, and the staff were incredibly welcoming.

Always saw this online, wanted to order online but didn't. Finally made the trip to go In store and OMG the cookie pies were delicious! Highly recommend. My son loved his cookie too. They were nice and warm an just melted in my mouth yum! Got a milkshake, was a little sweet for me, but was still delicious. Will definitely make another trip to buy in store again

Located in a convenient ferry terminal area, this place offers an interesting range of flavors and has friendly staff. There is nothing particularly special when compared to competitors, nor are there significant faults, making it rather average overall. It's something you might want to try without setting high expectations.

Went in to buy some gelato for but ended up leaving with nothing. Waiting in line to be served but it seems lines don’t matter as when we are receiving samples other customers came barging in to order. I was about to crash out but lucky my girlfriend pulled us out. Workers didn’t seem to have a care in the world.

The staff's attitude was utterly dreadful. They kept glaring at us with such hostility, and when we tried to make a purchase, they were downright rude. Even after I'd paid, they practically shoved me out the door. The two shop assistants were a fair-haired woman and another with two pigtails. In the end, I even caught the pigtailed one swearing at the other and giving us this disgusting look. Don't bother going there – it's bloody sucks

3 scoops are a very generous portion. Delicious 😋 Island Gelato is one of my favourite ice cream place in Auckland! It will not close until very late. I like walking here after dinner for desserts 🍨. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I think they always have new flavours!!! My current favourite is pistachio!!!

My second best dessert location in Auckland... Hard to beat the chocolate Boutique in Parnell. All desserts here are tops, some dine in options but the only issue is the place is so tiny and poorly laid out, but I suspect it's the only way they could do it with the space they hade. Most nights have a line outside but for good reason, worth the wait for sure.

There are dessert places and then there are dessert places....Milse deserves its reputation as the creme de la creme in the Auckland scene for divine desserts. If you have the patience and time, I highly recommend doing the dine in option. While the takeaway desserts are beautifully presented and well balanced (ie not too sweet) for most part, the sit down option is really worth the wait. You get individual plates of desserts that are a taste sensation in itself. A really wonderful experience in terms of food and ambiance. Now the only reason why I didn't rate it 5 stars is simply due to the snooty wait person (the one I am referring to is the 5' one who ate too much desserts and it shows...sorry). If she understood that her job exists because of customers and treat customers with more respect, then this will be the best place in town for a lovely night out.

Very well presented ice cream desserts, the store is busy and small with outdoor seating available. It was packed so we had a milk chocolate cornflakes to take away. I like the flavoring not too sweet but enough to serve my craving. Would love to go back and try other desserts. Recommended.

We have been to Soul bar on many occasions and really enjoyed it in the past, how ever that last few times we have been very disappointed and specially the last visit was for my partners birthday. We weren't there for the ladies lunch we were paying full price and spending alot of money. The service was so bad one of the waitresses plonked our food infront of us with no words or even a smile and walked off. The food was tasteless and nothing to rav about. We ordered the prawn pasta and it came out Looking and tasting over cooked with a prawn head on top of it with about 3 little bits of prawn through it, the seafood chow was made with chicken stock and not very nice, the fish dish was average along with the 2 entrée we had. We won't be back as we can cook better at home.

I love Soul Bar, and this time it was a tuesday lunch with the girls. The food is consistently delicious and full of flavor. This time we enjoyed: Scampi cocktail, jalapeño & lime, Ricotta filled tortelli, sunday sauce, calabrian chilli Tuna tartare, calabrian chilli, oyster mayo, potato galette West coast whitebait fritters, lemon butter. We will be back!

A great location with beautiful harbour view. Atmosphere is amazing, staff is very friendly, service was quick and food was delicious. A good restaurant for family & friends catchup.

We felt like having a special date night last week, I had been to Soul before just for drinks but had heard the food was exceptional. Despite being a Tuesday night, Soul Bar & Bistro was lively, busy and definitely the place for a fancy date night, work drinks, and family/friends group dinners. The staff are lovely and helpful and food was amazing. I had to try the famous Mac n Cheese - was unlike anything else I've had, did not dissapoint! Drinks were really good as well. All round the spot if you have anyone you'd like to take to a nice dinner on the waterfront. Still raving about it- we will be back 💫

The food and drink at Soul Bar is exceptional. We ordered a variety of starters, which were all unique and delicious. My favourite starter was the tuna with wasabi mayo. For my main, I ordered the lamb rack. The lamb was tender and flavourful. Kumara was also served with the lamb, providing a soft and crunchy texture to the meal. Additionally, my cocktail, the Soul Punch, was delicious. The service is also great. The wait staff were kind and enthusiastic.

We came before so this was a repeat visit. Did not disappoint! Soul has amazing cocktails and delicious food. Top favourites were the tiger prawns starter, scampi alla chittara and market fish.

The food is great. Ordered the beef Wellington and tastes great. But just realized there is no special gift for birthday person. What’s more, if you bring your own cake, there will be extra $5 charge for each person at your table. The waiting time today around 50 minutes ( we have already pre-order online though ) ,it is quite a long waiting for my husband but it is acceptable for me.

Went here for family lunch on daughter birthday. Very impressive. Started with the seafood platter and lobster toast yummy. Lobster toast is a must try. Then shared Beef Wellington and lamb roster both first class. Lamb falling off the bone. Sides veg and chips all good. Staff were attentative and most helpful. Really nice outlook just a shame the container wharf is here but would highly recommend Ostro to all. Is expensive but I thought well worth the experience.

Food was absolutely amazing. However, the service was disaster. Service: Lunch time was extremely under staffed. We kept looking for our waiter and nobody checked on us. When the desserts came and we waited for five minutes to get our cutlery. Food: Oyster was fresh, lamb rump was just perfect(tender, juicy and flavourful), beef fillet was delicious and the chicken was tasty. Desserts do need some improvement nothing special.

We dined out at Ostro Brasserie & Bar in Britomart precinct and was instantly impressed with the service and restaurant interior as soon as we entered. From a very industrial looking entrance to the building to ascending the floors to the restaurant, it was stunning to walk into the reception area separating the mood lit bar to the right and the expansive dining area opposite. The maitre’d was a consummate professional with greeting and escorting us to our table. The wait staff were exceptional and the menu was exciting to peruse. I was impressed with the wine list the representation of NZ wines so we enjoyed an Otago Pinot Noir with Antipodes. We started off with the seafood platter and this was amazing with banana prawns, kingfish crude, ceviche, oysters, tuna tataki and croquettes with a trio of sauces. This was the best seafood platter I’ve ever had as the flavour profiles were refreshing and exotic to enhance the seafood. Following on, we ordered the snapper and lobster pie and this was moorish and flavoursome with chunks of lobster and fish in mornay sauce. We enjoyed the pie with Parmesan beignets and a cos hazelnut salad. The sides complemented beautifully. For dessert we had the poached pear with chocolate mousse and a cheese platter. This was the perfect close to a wonderful dinner. Overall, our dining experience was memorable and the ambiance, service and cuisine was truly wonderful. Highly recommended with distinction!

Had high tea here with friends. The food was nicely presented but varied in terms of taste. Some items were outstanding, some were just quite ordinary. One item had cream that was off although the chef insisted that it wasn't. My girlfriends were not convinced though and it's rather insulting for the chef to imply we don't know what we are on about when some of us are proficient bakers and even teach cooking. Why 3 stars? In terms of value, it's a bit misleading. For $55, you will get a savory option each but not the dessert option. So if there are 3-4 of you, you will have to either share or omit from eating the dessert you crave for as they only give one of each item. We were served 1 tray (see images) for 3 of us to share. Tea is limited to 2 servings/cups. You don't get a chance of even getting top ups as they are chasing you out of the restaurant by that stage by clearing your plates and giving you the impression that it's time to bugger off. The view is magnificent for those lucky enough to face the right direction. But would I come here again? Maybe.....maybe not.

On a Saturday afternoon around 3pm we wandered for lunch into Ostro. This place has a great view of the Waitemata harbour and you have the option to sit inside or the outside depending on weather. Great ambience and sitting space. Menu had one main option for vegetarians only. We had hot pot mushrooms and pan sheared snapper plus fries on the side. For a fine dinning restaurant the food was average, customer service was not as expected but the servers were polite. Cocktail was great along with the tap beer. Definitely a place to visit with friends for a drink and to soak in the harbour views.

Lovely location. Great food, and even better service. We thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday Sipsters lunch here. A must-do restaurant.. Oh, and a wonderful view of the Port.

Went to Auckland for a food tour base from cuisine magazine hatted restaurant. Had a lunch tasting menu, a New Zealand story. Snack were great and flavorful. Starter was presented well. Mains, i don't really like lamb in particular But the bbq lamb was my favorite. There is no lamb aftertaste at all. Pre dessert was a bit bitter but presented nicely. The main dessert was average. I was opting for more desserts but since tasting menus are stretch out didn't have that much time.

Our experience at Ahi was incredible from start to finish. We were seated in the far corner overlooking the harbor and square with our backs turned to the main restaurant, which made us feel like we were at a private exclusive table. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. We chose the Chef menu, "A New Zealand Food Story," where we were taken on a culinary journey of the island. Each bite was spectacularly balanced, full of flavor, elegantly plated, and absolutely enjoyable. Highly recommend this special restaurant.

Outstanding! I had the express lunch which is one snack, one starter, one main and one treat for $90pp. The meal was outstanding….delicious! The Kawakawa sourdough bread, delicious! The Wild Goat Tart with sweet & sour mustard, with hot sauce, delicious! The Warehenga which was shaved Kingfish, burnt cucumber, avocado sorbet and ponzu, delicious! The Tia which was wild-shot red deer, courgette flower, smoked beetroot tamarillo & black pudding jam with pickled raddish, delicious! The treat was a Rosé ice block, delicious. Overall……delicious and throughly enjoyed lunch! A must try!

I came to Ahi after seeing it being featured on many foodie pages as one of the top restaurants in Auckland. I could clearly see where the hype was coming from. What i liked about Ahi, - Beautiful spacious interiors overlooking the beautiful harbour which makes it an ideal place to be in & enjoy a drink during sunset. - Loved the open kitchen concept where you get to enjoy the art making of the talented chiefs there with the chargrill ovens n that magnificient smell. - I was greeted by a beautiful lady that escorted me to the table n that was the best service i got but following that the young gentleman that was taking care of my table was nothing less than an extremly rude young gentleman that hasnt learned any manners. It seems he wasnt so happy with me not ordering a main dish, i simple got 1 started & 1 small plate. I asked to try a wine but wasnt a fan of it so decided not to go for a glass. He then comes back to my table & throws the menu on my table then comes back in few minutes asking in a very arrogant way "do you want to eat something else"! I just hated how i was treated, it made me feel so bad & was a horrible way for me to end my day! Its so sad when such a beautiful place would hire such amateur employees, it seems made me feel i dont want to come back to this spot! I tried the Oysters which weren't my fav, i believe they were Waikato oysters. Tried the Octopus which was lovely but the plate was so small versus the price point. In general Ahi is a beautiful spot to enjoy a couple of drinks n nibbles with friends n enjoy lovely music but paying high price point.

Ahi was absolutely amazing! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive & they even surprised me with a special “Happy Birthday” plate after overhearing it mentioned. We had the NZ Food Story set menu, which didn’t disappoint. Every dish was crafted to perfection and came with its own story, making the experience even more special. I’d visited Ahi on my last day in New Zealand. I have to say that I’d been largely disappointed with the food I’d tasted in Christchurch, Wellington (barring one), and finally, Auckland. It was a very good final day, having visited Depot (opposite Sky Tower). Ahi was recommended by a staff in Hotel Britomart. My requirements were easy enough: I want a place that can showcase the freshness of NZ produce. I was lucky to get a seat as I was alone. Service was generally good though not consistent (some were much better than others). I appreciated the menu which showed the distance between the source of the dish to the restaurant. Every dish was presented by the servers, and the each dish was beautifully presented by the chefs. My favorite was the dessert, with the smoked ice cream with charred berries, and dark chocolate. It was a most complete taste! My least favorite was the abalone on hash brown, because the taste of the hash brown overwhelmed the abalone and in an unpleasant way. Feedback was given to the server who cleared my plate. As it turned out, my very fussy friends had also visited earlier this year as they were staying at the Intercontinental Hotel and had loved Ahi too. Please keep up the great work, I’ll be back again next visit

Experience: Extravagant platting. They do tell some story with their dishes. (A bit fast, guess cause it's busy). 👩‍💼🧑‍💼The staff do feel like have this aura (whenever I talk to them) that makes you feel like not belong there. 🍖 Had: Warehenga (Kingfish), Tuna Huhunu (Eel), Atihoka (Artichoke Eggplant), Riwai (potato/chips), Tia (Deer). Food are all delicious and unique. The only place that do deer. My only complaint is, if you only give 2 slices of deer meat, don't put it under "main". 💰 Prepare to pay at least $120pp if you don't want to come out still hungry (you won't get full unless you also order potato). #SmallPortions

We love weekends and wanted to make our breakfast special, so we were looking for a good place to eat and found this one. We loved the food and the good service. However, we were quite sad because our child is very picky with food and can only eat chips and porridge for breakfast. Since chips are served only after 12 noon, we would bought them somewhere else, but we were told that this is not allowed. As a result, we didn’t enjoy our breakfast together because we had to eat in a hurry so our child could have her chips outside. We hope that you may consider this kind of situation in the future

We ate here 4 years ago and the food and atmosphere was great. Today came back and brought our friends to have a nice breakfast in St Heliers. Disappointed ☹️ Bacon was tough, salty and particularly burned. Avocado was spoiled but the chef argued that the other half was eaten by other customers and they did not complain. Everything else was average. Their coffee was still good.

We went on a public holiday so it was quite bustling but we were fortunate enough to get a table without waiting. The food came out relatively quickly as well despite them being busy. Staff were friendly. The food was overall delicious and good portions except the market fish (not photographed) which was a bit underwhelming. The soufflé pancake was a stand out, crispy exterior and fluffy interior. The shakshuka was really well flavoured and seasoned, perhaps a little too well as it got pretty heavy by the end of the meal. The restaurant looks out to beautiful St Heliers Beach, lovely place to enjoy a coffee and food. Would recommend.

This place used to be a favorite, but it's clearly gone downhill. Our food took so long that tables seated after us were served first, and while the waitress apologised for kitchen delays, it didn't make up for it. The portions were small for dishes that are almost $40, my Gnocchi at $36 looked like it belonged in the small/starter section of the menu and tastes like 8 small pieces of fried potato hash cakes. It was also bland and forgettable, much like the coffee. The view is still lovely as always, but it's no longer enough to make up for the lackluster food and slow service. Disappointing overall, and likely our last visit.

The food and coffee here are excellent, and the atmosphere is lovely. Unfortunately, the service has been terribly rude on two separate occasions now. One of the servers rolls her eyes at you, and another actually told us off for looking for a seat—despite no one greeting you at the door. To make matters worse, he even reminded us to hurry up and finish our coffee because “so many people were coming in,” while the restaurant was half empty. The only saving grace is the team at the register and counter café; they’re consistently friendly and welcoming, which is the only reason this isn’t a 1-star review. Honestly blown away by how off-putting the floor service is compared to everything else.

My friend Sheila treated me here for lunch as my advance birthday celebration. Service was excellent, specially from Dayne. The food is beyond delicious. We shared the calamari, I had the eggs benny with bacon while Sheila had the burrata. We shared a dessert. Everything was yum! Vibe is welcoming and warm. We had such a great time. I will come back with my husband.

Went there for a breakfast on the 28th Sep. Thw waiter took our orders. My coffee came out as a small coffee when ordered a large one. This got replaced. But then when our food arrived, My wifes was lovely and hot. And my Salmon and eggs were stone cold. Taken away to be microwaved hot i would have guessed, As only a couple of minutes. Pretty poor considering would have been freshly cook. Staff should have discounted that meal. Half Pie Appology.

Feriza’s Turkish/Greek food is a flavor explosion—fresh, vibrant, and downright delicious! The service is warm, attentive staff. Cozy ambiance, perfect for any occasion. On the waterfront in the Wynward Quarter this was a great Turkish find. We ordered a Chocka Riwaka IPA, coke, calamari, lahamajun street pizza and Feast kebab (beef and chicken). All was perfect, absolutely spot on and as big fans of Turkish food we can highly recommend. So good we went back again to have the Haloumi chips, slow cooked lamb and the beef iskendser

I went to this place for dinner tonight and the food and service were absolutely sensational. I ordered the mezze platter with extra lamb and the grilled octopus. The mezze platter came with a generous variety of dips, cold dishes, and breads — it was such a fun and delicious experience trying all the different flavours, and everything was outstanding. The grilled octopus dish was equally impressive, with tender octopus, grilled vegetables, and a fresh, tangy salad that really brought the plate together. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're after top-quality Turkish/Greek-style food!

Had dinner here, the service was quick and efficient and the actual Restauraunt is very spacious, had room to push my chair in and out without being squished which made me feel at ease with dining here. The meals were full of flavour and large portions for the price which was a plus. Also they offer blankets free of use to put round yourself on the tables as it gets cold later The Restauraunt is Turkish food for anyone that’s wondering

Been past this restaurant many times in the past (on our way to our favorite Wynyard Grill). Today we decided to have lunch here. We were pleasantly surprised. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, delicious Turkish food. The Tiramisu was on the dry side. Gave 4 stars as toilet could have a bit more attention.

Took my partner here for a birthday dinner before a show at the Auckland theatre around the corner. The service was great, atmosphere was vibrant and busy, food came out at a good pace and the bartender made us very tasty cocktails including one of the best espresso martini’s I’ve had. Loved all of it, will definitely be back

The pear French toast was incredible! And the views, aesthetics, staff and atmosphere were amazing. Such a great spot for a walk in Auckland. They catered for dietaries and intolerances. Highly recommend. @kirbystaltari

I had such a wonderful dining experience at Kohi Beach. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a beautiful view that made the evening feel special from the very beginning. The food was excellent – everything was fresh and well prepared, and the steak was absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly to my liking. What truly stood out, however, was the service. A big thank you to Zoey and Denise, who looked after us with such kindness and professionalism. They were attentive without being intrusive, always checking in at the right moment, and they made us feel genuinely welcome even when the restaurant was busy. Their positive attitude and friendly smiles added so much to the overall experience. Kohi Beach is definitely a place I would recommend for both the food and the service. I’ll be looking forward to coming back again soon!

The chicken and the lamb were so tender and well cooked. We also loved the ceviche. Lovely atmosphere, just off the beach, and great service.

29/09 @ 1000H The front of the house person was unfriendly. People behind the counter will just stare at you. Unapproachable and makes you don’t wanna stay there. Lady barista was OK. Could’ve been a good place to catch up with mate tbh but we end up staying on a bench beside beach path.

We arrived just before 7 am while they were setting up, but happily accomodated us. We had a lovely front corner table with beautiful views of the bay. Certainly the very best menu we'd seen during our weekend in Auckland and by far the best service we've encountered for a while. My Americano with cream was perfect and I had a nutty granola with rhubarb and rose compote, greek yogurt and kiwifruit. Delicious! My companion enjoyed her Earl Gray tea and mushrooms and spinach. Staff were attentive without being intrusive, chatty but not dominating and we certainly enjoyed our breakfast this morning. Thanks very much.

The Asian lady in the cashier and the barista was rude on 21 Jun Saturday 25. Was taking my parents from overseas to enjoy this coffee shop and had a really bad experience from these 2 ladies. Never coming back. There are plenty of coffee shops with friendly staff, definitely don’t need this experience. The only person was kind was the the ice cream lady

Delicious food, very well presented, good portions other than the avocado on toast with poached egg - while tasty and looking good small relative to other dishes. Excellent service. Beautiful outside by sea. Went back two days later, for great coffee. The gelato is very good too.

I have not been back here since 2004! It was a regular place for my group of friends back than because the food was great. Unfortunately even though the service was exceptional the food was average this time especially the seafood chowder which was more like a soup and no seafood my husband was very disappointed. Overall 3/5 for the food, service was very good and price was reasonable.

Had meatballs and wedges. Delicious. Other person has steak, mashed potatoes and fries. Steak cooked perfectly. Took some away. Nice to be able to buy jug of soft drinks. Will be going back.

Excellent food. I ordered gluten free and they are very helpful. Can be slightly drafty due to people walking past the automatic door. Otherwise it is quite comfortable atmosphere

Bakery cabinet is very good and lots of yummy options. Kitchen food going out quickly but I’m not a fan of food decoration. Cafe on the other hand is a big let down. Drinks came to table when we nearly finish our food. Smoothie and iced coffee tasted like they’ve been blended in the same jug and not very fresh ingredients.

Love the decor and ambience of the cafe. The coffee was good and also the cream brûlée donut! We tried two dishes from the food menu (crispy corn fritter and Eton mess), not quite like them, sorry. However, the cabinet foods look great and We will come back to try out. Thank you.

Very busy place. The cabinet food always run out quickly. Decent coffee. Enjoy the cafe setting and decorations. Love to come back more often. Managed to sample few varieties of dishes. Good family place to hang out. This cafe advertised as children friendly. I do not see many toys or any playground for young children to enjoy.

This is one of our favourite cafes! Although the menu changes seasonally, the food is always great. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the coffee is great. Part of the same group as Melba, B & B is worth the drive and the money. There’s also fresh bread and baked goods available in the cabinet. Personal recommendation: try the house hash brown!

As a Portuguese expat in New Zealand, I obviously had to taste the Portuguese tarts on display in the cabinet. I was impressed with their quality, but did find the dough was not as light and crispy as back home. Still good, nonetheless! The coffee is delicious and note that if you order a large flat white, you get it in a bowl! For the main, I had the crispy corn fritters and boy was I impressed! Don't be fooled by the photo where all you see is the scrumptious scrambled eggs. The fritters underneath managed to stay crisp all the way through to my last bite. The middle Eastern flavors were the icing on the cake. In addition, for a full house, the service sure was not delayed and was done with a smile on their faces. Well done!

Great looking place with a good variety of delicious breads and sweet stuff which seems to be all prepped & cooked on site. Service was pleasant enough but they seem to congregate more around the person making the coffee then servicing the tables. Coffee was good, we ordered the big breakfast meal but felt the price we paid and what was offered was a little underwhelming compared to what we have been used too. We got in early and saw how busy this place can get, it caters as a sit down cafe as well as a takeaway bakery.

We found Bread & Butter to be a super-vibrant eatery in the heart of Grey Lynn; an awesome selection in every department from sweet to savoury, a brunch menu full of temptations. It really felt like a bustling eatery and authentic bakery. The staff we encountered were friendly and genuinely cared about our experience. For example we found the base on our chicken pie slightly undercooked, and when passing on that feedback it was taken in good spirits the way it had been intended. But the food apart from that quibble was beyond stellar; the big “Baker’s Breakfast” one of the best versions I Can remember. The sausage was well appointed, seasoned and cooked, while the fresh toasted bread from their kitchen really lifted the whole plate. The custard tarts on the counter were too tempting to pass up so I had one of those, while my partner had his creamy chicken pie and his own indulgence of both an apple juice and and iced chocolate, served in pretty mason glassware. Given the selection and how warm and pleasant the whole experience was, I have no hesitation to say I hope to return in future when next visiting Auckland.

I had high hopes for this fine dining restaurant, especially given my past experiences at some of the world's best 50 and Asia's best 50 restaurants. However, my visit was a complete letdown. There was no communication between the chef and guests, which was a disappointment, as I was expecting a more personalized experience for a meal that costs $375+ pp. I had hoped for a $190 pp wine pairing that would complement my meal, but unfortunately, there was no in-depth introduction, and the wine didn't pair well with my food, I wonder if the sommelier who design the pairing had ever tried the food, or was it even designed by a sommelier? Not to mention the $50 staff charge, and guess what, they even charged for my bloody warm water. The prices were exorbitant, and I felt like I was being ripped off. To make matters worse, the open kitchen's hygiene was not up to par, which was concerning. The knives had rust stains on them, using takeaway plastic containers and those blue tissue towels seemed out of place in a fine dining establishment. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable fine dining experience. This money could have been well spend at other restaurant.

Decided to come here because it was my last chance before I left Auckland. They were very supporting of my last minute booking, considered I booked only 8 hours before service. First impressions were excellent, decor was very cost, introduction was great. The chef made the ambience very friendly. For me, considering it's my first experience in these kind of high number of courses with drinks matching, it wasn't to my expectations. I had heard high reviews from colleagues about this place, but out of the 14 courses I had, I like only 5-6 of them. That said, considering it was my first experience, it could be that I just wasn't used to the unique flavours that the chef wanted to present. The high rating was for everything else. I'm not that picky about my food, I just about eat everything that's not green. I did surprisingly like the greens that were served in most courses. Overall, would recommend to others to dine in Pasture.

Mind-blowing experience!! My partner and I could only think of one other restaurant meal that could even compare to how incredible this was (Borago in Santiago, if you’re interested). The attention to detail was impeccable, the dishes the perfect balance between experimental flourishes and strong execution.

Unbelievable, Ed and the team always take it to the next level. Pictures really don't do the amazing quality, attention to detail or sheer gumption of the team. The food is excellent, the drinks match are excellent. I haven't been so satisfied by a meal as I am when I come here. I can't wait to come back for .y third time.

A very different dining experience but amazing. Exquisite ingredients prepared and served in ways you would never image. Wine matching was excellent. Staff were amazing. On the pricey side for dining but definitely worth every cent.

Oh, my. The most exquisitely personally curated meal I've had in NZ. The service and attention to detail throughout is extraordinary, and it's clearly based on the tastes and interests of a singular mind who is exploring ideas that they like. GET THE DRINKS MATCH - the meal is only half complete without the matching beverages. Best dishes: The Pig Crumpet (cooked in pork fat, topped with pig liver pate and house pancetta), the sourdough with the blue-cheesy 13 month aged butter, the house made chilli liqueur that tastes like distilled capsicum. Lots of interesting drinks - raw and fermenting wines are a favourite - lots of sour and simple flavours. Less salt than I might prefer, less greenery than I might prefer (but it is winter), less acid than I might prefer - but these are MY preference; that's not what we're here to have. We're here for personable chef Ed Verner's preferences, and they are EXCELLENT. Thanks for sharing them with us, Ed!

With one set menu designed for the season and talented chefs using various techniques such as cooking with wood-fire, fermentation, dry-aging and cheese making, your meal at Pasture is one of its kind. The restaurant only seat 6 and takes two seating times at 5:45PM and 8:15PM. Instead of seating at secluded tables hidden in the dining room, you’re in the middle of it all at the Chef’s Counter where you can directly engage with the kitchen. Booking a table pre-COVID has always been a hard task with the weekends being taken up as soon as bookings become available. We managed to get a table as soon as they started taking reservations under level one - Understandable as this award winning restaurant is well praised in the dining community (3 Hats in Cuisine, 2019 Metro Restaurant of the Year,  Best Chef & Fine Dining Restaurant) My meal at Pasture last Sunday was exceptional. We paired our meal with a non-alcoholic pairing and was thrilled at the creative choices of matches of beverage to dish. Each dish is surprising and innovative, creative with attention to detail. Watching the chefs elegantly assemble and prepare your meal right in front of you is a real treat. If you have any dietary requirements, this might not be suitable for you. I haven’t eaten a banana in 20 years and have managed to avoid red meat for the last 6 months. This changed last night and I have no regrets. The set menu also sets you back $250 and the non-alcoholic pairing is another $70 per person. It’s not a cheap meal. Do I love and recommend it? Yes! Would I be back next season when the menu change? When my wallet recovers

Chill vibes and exceptionally cheerful staff. Always delightful to be greeted with smiles, and nothing brings joy like a generous serving of gelato. Reasonably priced with comfortable seating too Delicious flavours and kept well for a smooth texture, perfect companion on a late autumn/early winter afternoon. Did I mention the cheerful staff? There were these two young ladies in particular, always smiling, with one skipping around the shop spreading joy and doing hopscotches on her way in and out of the shop. Keep serving generous scoops and happy vibes! It's definitely the place to be all seasons!

Probably the first time having Gelato, have to say I prefer regular ice cream from NZ Natural or Mövenpick. Lovely Gelato shop in one of Auckland's best locations. I enjoyed the Afgogato, will definitely go back for another.

The staff was patient with us, letting us try the many exotic flavours on their menu. When we finally decided on the Dubai chocolate, she made sure there was enough for the entire family.

Very yummy, best gelato EVER! Various flavoir of ice-cream and very nice staff. It a bit far of walk from cbd but you can find the beautiful haboir view. I ordered charcoal ice-cream in summer. So, it' melt and very messy but worth to have it!

Decent gelato, nice staff, and chill vibes. A bit expensive but on par for NZ and it’s right on the wharf which is a great bonus.

Great Gelato right by the water plenty of seating in the shade. We got the lemoncello, lemon sorbet and Dutch chocolate. Great reviews from the whole family! We will be back!

Very good portion sizes for ice cream, they had unique flavours - my wife enjoyed the lavender flavour. Nice way to end a day at the viaduct.

Catroux has a decent selection available from their menu or their cabinet. Service was pretty good considering how busy it was when we arrived. We ordered their smoked salmon bagel and their mince and cheese pie (from the cabinet) for a quick bite in the morning. We also got some mochas (we also wanted a vanilla latte, but they didn’t have syrups, which surprised us), but the mochas were good. The pie had a great crust. The mince had more of a Mexican-style flavour, which wasn’t quite what I expected, as I was hoping for a more traditional gravy style, but it was still enjoyable. The smoked salmon bagel had nice ingredients that I think complemented each other nicely. The salmon stood out as the clear leader, but not overpowering, as it can often be.

I had the Fitness Bowl ($28) and Tumeric Glow smoothie ($12.50). Was it worth it for a $40 meal? No. Firstly, it took forever to order, it is a busy place but the service was good. My Fitness Bowl was missing the tahini yoghurt, which was needed to bring the whole meal together and poached egg was over-cooked. It was a hard boil egg, so the meal was very dry….and there was no seasoning. Add the chewy dry halumi….the Fitness bowl was a disappointment. The Tumeric Glow smoothie was a yellow coconut, banana milkshake. It was thin and I could not taste the mango and passionfruit …which was the main reason why I ordered it. I feel that due to the place being so busy, there was a lack of attention to what was being prepared, put together and served. The only thing that had to be cooked was the poached egg…which was an utter fail.

Got a vegan chocolate plum cake. Highly recommend. It was so good with perfect sweetness. Doesn't taste vegan at all. Amazing quality for the price!

This was our first time here on the suggestion from a friend. The cafe is rather intimate and clean but quite noisy due to the large crowds both seated and those in the long queue. That made it very hard to have a contact the table, especially if one of the group speaks quietly. The staff seem quiet friendly even under stress. Our elderly friend loved her wee cake, my husband liked the quiche but I tried to like it but not really. Next time I’ll choose something from the delicious looking cake section. The negative thing from our first visit here was my coffee was completely forgotten and we had to ask twice if it was coming. We were asked what size we had ordered (what?) and it did arrive in less than 3 minutes after this question. Sadly I didn’t enjoy it at all as the coffee tasted burnt and bitter so I couldn’t drink it. My husband did as he said, “it’s paid for and I’m not wasting it!” The prices are quite reasonable. We will go back just to see if our experience can be improved, fingers crossed it will be.

Nice atmosphere and great food. Staff were attentive and friendly. Cafe was busy but food came out promptly.

I wish the New Catroux success however I will pass for quite some time I realise they were on their 3rd day of their new premises & we expected delays ..my expectations were based on my previous experiences from their previous address .. The food served to me was a shock & while placing the egg which had slipped off one potato Rosti I was still very much unable to make my meal attractive in anyway so I asked for another plate to Re plate & attempted to make my meal more presentable.. my regret is that I ate any of it at all but being polite you try not to spoil anymore the occasion for others .. There was no other cooked meal that went passed that I would go back for being a foodie although mine was the worst that we saw however some of the cabinet food which you can see & looked fresh & appetising.. Staff were polite & atmosphere very pleasant # Picture posted is of my smoked fish eggs Benedict after I had replaced one egg without success of looking appetising..

We had the BEST lunch today. The salads are next level, and the menu is varied and everything sounds great. Allpress coffee of course. The new premises are spacious and fresh and the staff are friendly and efficient. What more could one want? We'll make this our regular from now on. Wendy & Victor

The restaurant is quite small with an open kitchen. Food was yummy and served very quickly. Reminded us of being in Italy, though the portions were smaller. Red wine recommended by wait staff was delicious.

My fourth visit here, this time with family to try the spring menu. We had the pear and honey special with focaccia, lamb shoulder pappardelle and the cacio e pepe. Everything was so yum, but the pappardelle was the standout for me. The staff were, as always, warm and helpful with great recommendations from the specials and wine menu. Always a great experience, and I’m looking forward to seeing what’s on the next seasonal menu!

Had a great evening at Pici last Saturday the food, service, and atmosphere were all truly impressive. The fettuccine anchovy was a standout: rich, bold, and perfectly balanced. A dish that truly lingers in the memory. I also loved the selection of organic wines, with excellent pairing suggestions from the team. Sitting at the bar gave us a front-row seat to the kitchen in action — efficient, passionate, and inspiring. Overall, a delightful experience. I’d definitely return great vibes, delicious food, and a team that clearly cares.

Nestled in the stunning St Kevins Arcade building. Beautiful venue and stunning wines as well. The porchetta was amazing first time i have tried this and i now need to go make it at home. Cacio e pepe has been on my wish list for years stoked to have finally tried it.

I have to be honest my expectations are way to high for this place. Ive been wanting to try Pici for the longest time, tonight we picked this place to celebrate my brother’s birthday. The fettuccine with anchovy is way too salty for our liking I know anchovies are already salty but it’s excessive. The cacio e pepe was okay meh, not something that I would remember and rave about.

We decided to go to Pici for Matariki night, and it was an amazing experience. We had the set menu every single course was delicious, and the service was impeccable, we were lucky enough to get the table upstairs, and we loved it! Highly raccomanded!

You arrive in heaven, meet God, kiss your gramma, and then they hand you this focaccia. The first bite of the crust brought tears to my eyes—divine. Everything was delicious. Plates to share (you don’t want to) and great timing from course to course. Some unique local wines are available and the semifredda was to die for. We celebrated our anniversary and would gladly do so again! Reservation may be helpful, we showed up at 545 and there was only one table available for walk up.

Recommended by a friend. Loved the glass houses. Lovely vibe and decorated due to the holiday season. Unsure if they can be reserved, more a first come first served basis. Beautiful looking desserts. Enjoyed dessert platter. Would love to come back and try other items on offer.

Booked ourselves into a glasshouse outside, and we did a dessert and chocolate tasting. Parking was quite difficult, but the setting was great. The glasshouses were adorable. The food was all amazing! So filling! And the tasting was really interesting. Would highly recommend as something a bit different and fun to do.

OK I absolutely love chocolate, and this place I absolutely 100% love now also and would totally recommend. The facilities are clean and tidy but also so unique with their winter garden glasshouse. Me and 5 friends came for dessert and the customer service was top notch. We ordered the waffles, chocolate platter and something I can quite remember. It was absolutely delicious and I will be coming again with the kids and hubby. It was also so cool to see them making the chocolate next door in their factory too.

We booked an afternoon high tea experience at Morningside's glasshouse, which was great. High tea contains a few of savory and a collection of sweets, and we really enjoyed the food. We could choose any drink except the specialty drinks from the menu. Hot chocolate is amazing, and we highly recommend the one with hazelnut praline. The only thing is that we came on a rainy day and the glasshouse was a bit leaking. There were drips falling from the roof behind the chair in the corner. Other than that, the service was great as the staff was welcoming and kind.

A chocolate factory?! Yes please ☺😌 Miann Chocolate Factory & Store sits tucked away from the main road (New North Road). There is limited parking, but is well worth the effort 🚗🚗 They make all their chocolates and products on site. They sell all forms of sweet treats, decadent seasonal treats 🍫, and world class craft chocolates, as well as gelato and sorbet 🍦 They have an online store as well👩‍💻 The shop is quaint, and the staff are very friendly 🙂😀 They are open until 10pm on most days. There is outside seating benches, but they have these lovely, beautifully decorated glass pods that you can sit in, to protect you from the elements, while you sip on a hot chocolate drink during cold, wet, winter nights ❄🧣 I opted for their tasting plate, which changes regularly, and includes their best sellers. It was amazing! The lemon meringue was my absolute favourite, although all of them were delicious 😋😋 I was a bit disappointed that they don't sell coffee. They only sell all things cocoa and chocolate related, and tea. I opted for Rooibos tea (a South African herbal favourite), infused with cacao husk ☕

The staff here are lovely. And I keep coming back for the macarons. They have gone up in price but they are still the best. I would like to see a bit more variety in the dessert menu as it was kinda the same things we were there. That pecan brownie though was delicious

Nice place to hangout with friends. They have glass cabins made to sit and enjoy your food. Pastries were ok. Didn’t enjoy the cheese cake. It was bit sour in taste. Triffle was nice. Not more options of coffee only black coffee available. They have lots of varieties of macrons, chocolate, home made gelato in variety of flavours for all their items.

The warabi mochi came with sufficient kuromitsu and a scant amount of kinako. Furthermore, it came on a long, shallow dish wih a spoon, very difficult to eat. Bowl or fork please. Just a weird combination of plating/utensil. My wife got shiratama, with similar presentation. Upon eating, the shiratama was hard and dry on the inside. The quality for both sweets does not reflect the price. I lived in Japan for five years and my wife is Japanese, I'd like to think we know what we're talking about. We were so excited to try this on our first time to Auckland city, and the reality did not live up to our expectations. Japanese cuisine is middling in most of the country, and thought Auckland to be our best bet for quality Japanese food. We are, however, both of the opinion it was a bad representation of Japanese sweets, especially considering the legacy of Tsujiri in Kyoto. My wife also commented the frozen mitarashi dango she ate the other day was better, and I would have to agree. On a good note, the iced matcha latte was passable for me, hence the 2 stars. Up your game, please.

I loved Tsujiri so much! The young girl at the counter was helpful and polite! Lovely clean bathroom and ample seating, and my food arrived within 5-10 minutes. I had a matcha milk float and a matcha swiss roll and it was absolutely perfect. By far the best matcha I have ever had!! I would totally recommend going here for a quick stop in for food, a cute lil date or anything really!! Beautiful interior too.

Last time we came here and ordered clear matcha(great) and warabi mochi (which was not good). This time we order matcha parfait and is really good though

THE SERVICE WAS LIFE CHANGING I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A RESTAURANT NEARLY AD GOOD AS THIS. EVERYONE NEEDS TO COME HERE NOWWWW. Anyways, the shaved ice tasted great with a good balance of matcha and houjicha though the houjicha did taste quite sweet. The warabi mochi coated in matcha gave it a good contrast with the shaved ice. Red bean was also very good, not too sweet and goes really well with the flavours!

I love Tsujiri... a matcha heaven! I used to visit their shop in Queenstown, unfortunately it closed down now. They have two shops here in Auckland... at Lorne St and Newmarket. Everything is a treat here, for those who love matcha!

Have been here many times— a favourite of mine for dessert and refreshments! The cakes are beautifully made & the drinks are so refreshing— if you like matcha, this is a great place for it!

Jan 2024. This is one of the best matcha soft serve places. It's absolutely delicious. And the black sesame is good too. The service was just ok. The attention to detail was lacking from the girl who served me, as she mixed all the flavours.

We were a group of 5 that dined in on a Friday afternoon. There was someone ready to take our order (we took long to decide). We ended up getting the mango snowflake ice and strawberry snowflake ice and shared it between us. The place is so clean and has PowerPoints to charge your devices. A great place to chill and yap with friends over dessert.

The shaved ice dish was gigantic. couldn't even finish it. mango wasn't the fresh one but good enough to feel fresh. waffles were very impressive with crunch almond and melting cream. Definitely good place to feel the festive vibe.

The prices are quite high for what they serve when comparing to similar places in the city or up north. The pumpkin or sweet potato they gave tasted a unfresh, was perhaps frozen or already in their fridge for a while. This after all is just ice and some toppings but the prices don’t seem reasonable. The strawberry ice dish is loaded with strawberries but the icy part wasn’t so good, tasted more like flavourless ice bits.

Ate here 4 years ago. Still taste the same. Good to come and have desserts after dinner.

We arrived at 11:20pm. Closing time is 12am, and they said they’re not able to do bingsu’s as they had closed the machine. ?? Why when if you close at 12? Our regular is Dominion road meetfresh, and we’ve gone in after 11:40pm and they’ve served us both dine in and take-away bingsu’s. We ended up getting warm dessert options which we didn’t like, just wasn’t for us. Also, at 11:20 they served these in takeaway containers? This place is closing while still being open lol

Looking for some sweet treat I found Meet Fresh and got a Mango Shaved Ice. The portion is huge and easy to share. Some nice vanilla ice cream on top, lots of fruits and nice and fruity while not overly sweet. Staff is friendly, seating is on the rustic side but does the job. A great spot for some Taiwanese sweets👍🏻

It's always nice to have desserts 🍨 with family. We had mango 🥭 snowflake ice and chocolate snowflake ice. They came with pudding, manggo/ bobba, and condense milk. We never get bored with these 2 types of snowflakes. Always order 2 bowls and share between 3 of us. The place almost always busy so understandable the worker are busy and we need to help them to clean the table for ourselves.

Finally a Cafe that caters for allergies! Specifically for me, most of the menu could be catered as gluten free and I wasn't disappointed. The menu was varied, not just the normal Cafe staples which was so refreshing and the staff were lovely. A lovely lunch on my last day in New Zealand. One happy tourist and if I were a local I'd be a regular. 😁

Montrose Cafe offers fabulous food and coffee. The staff are incredibly friendly, but the service could do with some improvement. Despite having plenty of employees, many seem idle. The decor is outdated and the space feels overly cluttered, which detracts from the overall dining experience.

Very cozy place. You can enjoy local artist's works. Their roast lamb is really good. The staff are very friendly and caring.

Where to start. The service is always impeccable. The chef’s creations are delightful and sumptuous. The Swedish meatballs: incredible. The jambalaya: desirable even if you don’t do well with mild/medium spice. The pork belly: just fantastic. Our friend with celiac disease was able to eat here with no issues; she had a side of fries as a starter and then the pork belly.

We tried this bistro for dinner and we were very impressed! The food was beyond scrumptious and the customer service was exceptional! We ordered a few entrees and mains which were all very very delicious but the winner was the desserts for us. The bistro was child friendly with high chairs and a kids menu and the staff were all friendly and accomodating to our needs as parents. What really elevated our experience was the wait staff Noam and Tom. They were so friendly and provided exceptional customer service. Thank you for a great dining experience we will definitely be coming back here again.

I visited Montrose for the Feast Coast Bays promotion and had the pleasure of trying their featured dish — the New Zealand Salmon Wellington with dill gremolata mousse. The salmon was perfectly cooked: tender, succulent, and bursting with rich, balanced flavors. As always, Bruce and the team provided exceptional service and made us feel truly welcomed. A consistently outstanding experience!

It was full but we didn't have to wait very long. Beautiful meal and portions great. Warm and friendly atmosphere and service. Value for the money. Owner really cares

We always enjoyed The Caker cakes, so we asked The Caker to make our wedding cake too and as usual, it didn't disappoint us! Picking the 3 flavours for our 3-tiered wedding cake was the most difficult part! Thank you for catering all our dietary requirements of our guests, no one missed out, whether they were vegan or gluten free. Thanks again for all your work!

I was gifted a cake kit and have been hooked ever since. Their cake kits are absolutely amazing and have never failed me. I've tried almost all of their cake kits (haven't tried the new banana one yet). Recently ordered a black forest cake for a birthday and picked it up from the store. Beautiful cake, was a bit on the dense side but still a fantastic cake. None of the cakes have ever been overly sweet, always balanced just right. Highly recommend getting their cake kits and trying a few of their cakes. Will definitely be buying more cake kits soon!

Beautiful cake for my son’s birthday. Price was good. Got the chocolate banana one. Not as sweet as I would like it. But these cakes are way better than super market cakes. I think the texture is great for birthday and wedding cakes. Not like 5 star restaurant dessert cakes. But beats all other kinds of cakes. My wedding cake banquet was absolutely delicious and looked amazing. I didn’t give too much of a brief as to what I wanted because when people who work magic are left to have creative licence over what they do best it is always bound to turn out epic. When I collected the cakes the person at the front desk was so joyful & I was so thrilled with how it looked I don’t know who had the bigger smile! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for adding to our big day in so many ways. Our guests raved about the cakes too.

OMG ordered a cake from here for my own birthday and it was absolutely DeLish. This lemon and raspberry cake was to die for as it was sooo yummmmmyyy and decorated so gorgeously. I would highly recommend this place and definitely will order from here again to try other flavours.

Its pretty dam fabulous! Have ordered a number of times from The Caker and it never disappoints. We could not even tell the difference between the gluten free and non gluten free cakes. So delicious, there was barely any left overs! You won't be disappointed - just remember to go for their decorations though, as it just tops off the look!
