The flavour is good but don’t ever order the pita shesh. It leaked, the whole thing ripped when I got home and the way it was packed was totally wrong; they packed all the chicken at the bottom then each salad on top of the chicken instead of layering it in the bread. I had to tip the whole thing out on a plate and just eat it like this. Doesn’t look appetising after that. Also the chicken was dry since it was made from breast instead of thigh meat. Get the rice version. Ordering online prices were more expensive than ordering in the store but there was a 10% discount if you order online which brought the price down to be the same. *Portions are good. *They stock a good range of drinks. *Staff friendly

This is my favorite kebab shop in Auckland and finally had the chance to dine in instead of taking away. The back of the shop had plenty of space, allowing me to enjoy my meal while it was still warm. Their food, already great, tasted even better fresh. The staff was kind, and overall, this place stands out from other kebab restaurants. Highly recommend!

Fantastically genuine, by all means. An absolute gem of authentic Turkish cuisine in the food heart of Auckland. Beautifully seasoned food, ample serves for very decent prices and friendly service with a humble smile. We had Lamb as Salad, Lamb Shishkebab, Chicken on Rice, Falafel, Baklava, Orange Tea and Ayran. The mains come with a choice of two or three sauces, hummus, mint yogurt and hot chili sauce were spot on, like everything else. Well done, Paasha! Thank you!

Absolutely loved our experience at Paasha! The food was delicious—every bite full of authentic Turkish flavor. We came here for late dinner at 9pm after my ceremony ended. We are delightful to have experienced Turkish food through this resto in Mt eden close to Eden Park stadium. Just to note that this resto is good for those who dont mind eating with people who are smoking inside. Staff service is slow but food is totally worth it.

The absolute best! Authentic flavours, generous portions, quick service, and healthy meals, the best! My partner and I rarely eat out or get takeout, but when we do, it’s always here. This has become our weekly takeout spot for over a year now. We’ve stopped trying other places because honestly, nothing compares. We often get the large mixed on rice and the large chicken on salad, together only $37, such great value for the quality and portion size. The food is fresh, healthy, and consistently delicious. The cooks clearly know what they’re doing, with years of experience making authentic kebabs. Lastly, I’ll add that I’m really health-conscious, and I never feel “sick” or “guilty”after eating here, it’s takeout but it’s not even a cheat meal for me as its so fresh and healthy. Highly recommend this gem of a place!

We got the falafel on rice and chicken kebab on rice and this was THE best kebab we’ve ever had. Best chicken ever and best falafel ever, definitely worth every dollar. We will be coming back next time and getting the SUPER

For conveniency, it was nice to see that a restaurant was still open at 8:30 pm. In particular, for Muslims who eat Halal. The customer service was great, especially since the waitress had only started working a few days ago. The food was immaculate and after buying desert+drinks, it was very affordable when splitting the check. 10/10 and will be back!

Just came in for some chips (which was fresh and seasoned well). But had to say something about the lovely service. The owner is so welcoming and warm. The atmosphere is definitely a vibe. Looking forward to coming back to try the other lovely options on their menu!

Amazing food. Literally soul food. So warm, so balanced. Made my stomach happy and my spirit too. Don’t miss the chance to visit them. The grilled chicken is just perfect, and the hummus wow the right amount of spices. We tried a cocktail, the Istanbul, it was just as tasty as drinking under a tree. The proprietary, a warm person with a huge smile, filled with so much hospitality. We had a great conversation. The only sad part is thatbit was our only day in Auckland, but for sure when I come back to the city, this will be my first stop!! YOU SHOULD TRY IT!

It can get very busy during peak lunch hours so best to make a booking especially for a larger group. Highly recommended !

Impressive! Had a reservation for lunch at 01:30pm but due to some unfortunate events ended up coming in at 02:30pm. The gracious host did not turn us away, instead welcomed us warmly. Tried Hibiscus tea, Jordanian fajita, and Lamb Mandhi today — and everything was absolutely delicious! Very good service. Atmosphere was good, could be better. Food could be better however it did not appear authentic Jordanian. I have had authentic Jordanian shawarma and mandi before in Middle East. Shawarma bread seemed made from frozen bread… it did not seem fresh. The mandi meat was dry.

Highly Disappointing Dinner: Salty Entrees, Dry Mains, and Poor Service ​My family and I, all of whom consider ourselves foodies constantly exploring new restaurants, chose Petra Shawarma for our weekend dinner, a decision I deeply regret. ​We were all quite hungry and ordered an entrée and a main course each. I chose the falafel as my entrée, and it was so incredibly salty I couldn't finish it. It was practically inedible. For my main, I had the Chicken Shawarma with salad. The chicken was dry, lacked flavor, and tasted completely different from what I expected from a quality shawarma. While we were hungry enough to somehow finish off the main courses, the overall poor quality of the food immediately put us off. ​We had initially planned on ordering desserts, but after the awful mains and entree, we didn't even bother looking at the dessert menu. ​To top off a frustrating meal, my wife had a very unpleasant interaction with the server on our way out. As my wife politely said "Good night" while leaving the restaurant, the waitress questioned her in a way that made her feel uncomfortable and targeted. ​This dinner was a terrible experience from start to finish. The food quality was far below acceptable standards, and the poor service, culminating in the awkward exchange on exit, ensured we will never be returning to Petra Shawarma. ​Rating: 1/5

One of the most delicious and memorable meals I have had for a long time! The lovely wait person knew exactly how we should order and she was bang on. Four of us shared a few dishes and each one was just so good - fresh, nutritious, flavourful and authentic. It was cosy and comfortable and catered well for all dietary needs including excellent vegan choices. We will be back!

The two of us loved our experience at Petra. Excellent service, phenomenal food. We ate so quickly it was so good. The cardamom milk tea was so comforting and delicious and the semolina was absolutely unique and the best dessert I’ve had.

Have been a regular since they opened up but value for money has gone down significantly. Portion sizes reduced and prices almost doubled since 2021. Food is hit and miss depending on time of day. Owner has responded with incorrect claim? Meat on chips was $10.50 it is now $16.99 and $18.99? And they have also changed from (Regular to Large) sizes to (Small and Regular) which is deceiving. The old regular containers used to fit more that the current Small ones and were fairly priced. This is why I choose sensational chicken now.

Worst baklava i have ever had. Both pastry fingers were without filling of chopped nuts and fully empty. I am eating baklava from many years and had from your other branch in Napier aswell which was perfect. Don’t try to fool the customers.

Horrible owners horrible staff! Did not want salad but wanted gherkins and cheese and they want to charge $2 each piece despite not have other salad. RIP offs! They don't care they lose customers so they will get a bad review so customers don't come!

I've been a regular customer for several years. I often buy the $6.50 bag of chips which is good for 2 people. But now they have changed the amount to 1/3 for the same price. I won't be coming back. Plenty of other Turkish cafes to choose from.

What is great about getting food from Anatolia's is that the staff are very helpful and friendly. As the meals are freshly prepared, you have a waiting time, and even when they are very busy, your waiting time is not excessive. The portions are big and the food is yummy. Please come out and support our local small businesses during these tough times and enjoy the great food that they prepare.

Grade A!!! Best customer service I’ve experienced in a long time! Team is 10/10 also allowed us to dine in even when they were closing up. Super large portions and we have big appetites. Love the food here. Always door dash but must find time to eat there. After comparing a bunch of middle Eastern restaurants, I’ve found the shush kebabs here the best. The meat are usually juicy and not dry. Always packed with flavour as well. However the baklava is sometimes not fresh and it would be nice to see more traditional deserts offered here in comparison to other restaurants. Then it would be my one stop restaurant for middle eastern food craving!

This restaurant is highly recommended. First, the owner was very enthusiastic and patient when I was ordering. Second, the food in this restaurant is very delicious. It is generous in portion and good in taste. The drinks here are also highly recommended. Plus，What makes it particularly warm is that before meals, hand sanitizing gel is provided on each table. This allows customers to disinfect their hands before eating, which is very hygienic and aligns well with the restaurant's halal philosophy. Overall, it is a restaurant that makes people want to go again after the first visit.

Got the lamb shawarma (takeaway), and it was absolutely massive, and very generous amount of meat inside. Great value for $20 and delicious too. The Iranian guy that works there is very warm and friendly as well. Would recommend!

I ordered flame grilled chicken Brazilian. I'll give 5 stars for the big portion for it's price. They have a massive serving for my order. The chicken is dry, it's a breast part and it really has a tendency to be dry. Maybe in the future they can have arabic salsa sauce on the side. The portion is large and very delicious. The owner is very welcoming and the environment is good. The wraps are very crispy. I ordered lamb and fish, both of which were very good. We were in North Shore and had no idea where to eat, so I checked out some restaurant recommendations on Reddit. That’s how we discovered Ala Turca, a Turkish gem in Birkenhead. I was craving a good salad, and Turkish salads I've had in the past were always light and refreshing. Ala Turca took it to the next level – their salad not only looked amazing but tasted even better! The portions were generous; a medium plate was more than enough. As Asians, we have high standards for rice, and their rice exceeded our expectations. It was cooked with some unique ingredients we couldn’t quite figure out, but it was absolutely delicious – so much so that we ordered more! We also tried their Turkish coffee, which was beautifully presented alongside some traditional Turkish candies. The coffee was rich and flavorful – a perfect way to end the meal. The restaurant was spotless, and I’m guessing the friendly people behind the counter were the owners. They made us feel so welcome. Reddit was absolutely right about checking out the eateries in Birkenhead, and Ala Turca is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the area!

Never go to this place. Today we ordered 2 mixed meat wraps. It was filled only with vegetables and very very less meats. It looked like the chef wanted to close down the shop with so little meats and absolutely no smile. Not worth the $13.50 each. My family drove to Tasty Kebab in Stoddard Rd Mt Roskill. It was so much better filled with mixed meats & vegetables. Conclusion: Never go to Cafe Anatolia Te Atatu 100% horrible taste and very less meats.

Our first time to try this place this evening at my son in laws suggestion. We had this via Uber Eats. One plate was the grilled shish salad with chicken was quite bland. Although this lettuce base salad tasted fresh, the portion was quite small and watery. Grilled shish salad with lamb and chicken. The lamb tasted old, tough and overly salty. The rice also old, cucumber yoghurt was not freshly made, couscous was a sprinkle and the salad was not fresh either, tasted bitter and you could see brown/black on the cabbage where it was cut. The fries were mainly burnt or overcooked. Only the cheesy bread was edible. Extremely over priced yet underwhelming 😣😣 cannot help feeling ripped off. Cannot recommend to anyone else. Really disappointed.

I have visited Cafe Anatolia Ta Atatu yesterday and had a Kebab and coffee. Kebab was too yummy. I was really amazed by the service from staff named Maharaj. He was really amicable, proactive and professional. You will never regret after having their food and service. I love to visit them again.

Came here on Friday Waited 35 minutes for my order Gave them the benefit of the doubt Returned on Sunday only to have to wait 45 minutes this time Only two staff struggling to make what looks like one meal at a time. Seems they are more focused on the Uber orders rather than the people sitting directly in front of them. Not even an apology on the Friday let’s see if I get one tonight. I saw this place had good reviews so decided to give it a go. I must say it was very disappointing. 1. Staff were very disorganised and not overly friendly. 2. The stuff got my order wrong. There were things missing. 3. The food was very average in taste. Not bad but just pretty average. 4. I am not sure why but I order a side of Falafel. It was drenched in BBQ sauce.

I always buy Lil Abner's and their food is delicious but recently I ordered twice and received dry wrap, barely sauce put it also the chips are tasteless no salt at all. Tonight, I went in person to see and saw Indian staff's preparing the meals (a female and a male). Kindly serve food in proper way. Paying $20 for dry kebab and saltless Chip's Not Worth It.

I used to love Lil Abner’s and recommended it to many friends and family. But over the past four visits, the chicken kebab has been completely tasteless, with barely any sauce even when I ask for extra. I gave it multiple chances, thinking it might be a staffing or ownership change, but nothing has improved. Sadly, this was my last visit — I won’t be coming back.

Edit: 2024 as they now are not as good as rhey used to be. They no longer have the same crinkle cut fries, their current ones are horrible, the only redeeming thing for the fries is they use the same tasty chicken salt, have attached photos of their new crinkle cuts. The kebabs here are nothing special anymore, the chicken taste like the bad parts of chicken on a roast chicken, while they put way to much mayo in the kebab as well. Choice Food bar kebabs a couple of stores down taste better than them now. Yokum burger is not bad, depends on if you like the sound of this below, its basically minced chicken with stuffing mixed together with mayo, wrapped inside an egg and put into a burger.

I had chicken burger meal (9). This place has good food and tasty as well. The wait was close to 10 minutes as they make it after you order. There is parking Infront of the store. The fries was really tasty. Will visit again for sure.

They have huge serving of food. The taste is okay not too bad. However it seems that the steak they served me is just heated up it's already chewy and dry. The wedges is also heated and dry. The cleanliness of the place is just okay. Staff is bit grumpy while taking our order and rushing even there are not much customer.

Normally we really love the food from here but was so disappointed with our order today. The garlic yoghurt that was all over the wedges and kebab tasted off. Ruined the entire meal and the wedges weren’t fresh, you could tell they’d been reheated and then smothered with sauce to mask it.

The Lamb Kebab meal was absolutely revolting. The rancid meat looked more like overcooked mince and had no flavour, the chips undercooked and not salted, and the salad mediocre, with everything covered in this horrible garlic sauce. After a few mouthfuls I left most of it on the plate and walked out in disgust. Yuck! I will never go back.

Really great place to grab a quick bite, love there steak sandwiches and loaded fires! There chips are good not too soggy and just the right amount of crunchy. If you have coin try out there retro street fighter game.

Brought 2 American Hot Dogs. On the menu it says $7 each but was charged $19. When I hit up the cashier he said cause we add cheese and onions and it's an extra $2.50 each. I didn't ask for the extras, I just wanted 2 American Hot Dogs as requested. Dam Rip Offs

A go-to place for me and my partner, I always get the kebab combo and it’s the best as usual! Portion of the kebab is a bit small (used to Australian kebab sizes) but it’s very filling and honestly my favourite from here! Best kebab shop I’ve had out west so far.

Today was a joke. Spent $12 for a burnt flat toastie and a tasteless banana fritter. Small proportions, the cheapest supermarket bread. Not impressed. Won't going back. These people offering free food which tastes like it hasn't come from a take away store, it amuses me they are still up and running!! Change ownership immediately! How you got such a high rating is shocking and disturbing to say the least.

Haven't had haddads in years. What a disappointment did they change owners? Ordered a chicken kebab combo. Realised when I got home they didn't ask what sauces I wanted. My kebab was soggy couldn't even finish it. Chips were over salted. Not very friendly didn't smile looked like we were bothering them.

Open until late but all they sell is deep fried food instead of the entire menu that is displayed.

Who would’ve thought kebabs and chips out of a gas station would be one of the best kebabs in Auckland? Well it’s true. Had the lamb roll combo with mint chilli yoghurt. The lamb was freshly made on the grill so it takes a bit of time, but certainly worth the wait. The chips were well seasoned and crispy- honestly the best chips I’ve tried in a while. Don’t judge the book by its cover - give this place a go!

It's all about the kebab. Deliciously cooked meat that falls apart. Great portions and amazing value for money. Just a small takeaway shop, not a place to sit down and eat.

I haven’t been here in a little while, so I checked the reviews and the last review wasn't very good. Not sure why their experience was bad but it is just as good as it always has been in my opinion. I ordered lamb on rice with added feta. It was a good size meal and everything fresh as always! I also really enjoy the homemade chunky falafel from here which are unbeatable at $2! They also always give a free sauce for your fries or falafel if you ask. Always found Tasty kebab to be good honest value, always clean and simple kind customer service. I’ve found they never try to rip you off and with very average food like a lot of kebab shops. Tasty kebab - Good value tasty meals!

We are genuinely excited to see that the Turkish Cafe has re-opened, just up the road from their previous building. While the owner has some work to do in relation to seating and ambience, I'm just so pleased to see the cafe up and running again. Last night's meal was delicious, promptly delivered and generous in terms of portion size. We have enjoyed consistently excellent food at very reasonable prices at the Turkish Cafe. It is one of our favorite options if eating out.

Really good service and location; on the whole our meal tasted good. Our mains could've done with dips as it was a tad dry so will do this next time I dine here! They also didn't have the dessert I wanted so hopefully I'll be able to try it next time.

This epic restaurant has been a Ponsonby favourite for over 20 years! 🌯🥗 The falafel is absolute perfection 🫠🧆 … so crispy and crunchy on the outside yet moist and flavourful inside. The tabbouleh is also out-of-this-world delicious 👌 Everything is so fresh and lovingly made from scratch (with the potential exception of the flatbread itself). The atmosphere is relaxed and their one, wonderful lunchtime staff member is an absolute gem. Always makes me feel so welcomed and comfortable. Long live Turkish Cafe Ponsonby 🙌

Delicious food, great price and portions and they are always happy to add olives on request which I love. Service is always really friendly. Whenever I get lunch from here I always have people comment on how good it looks.

Turkish cafe is one of those places you can always trust to do a good job with food. Haven't been for a while so decided to go over the long weekend. Was a bit skeptical when say only one person was managing the whole cafe including service as well as cooking. Ordered the Chicken Shawarma Kebab which came pretty quickly and was really a delicious meal with chicken, hummus, rice and salad.

Superb mixed kebab. The meat is excellent but its the salad that sets it apart, super fresh with delicious dressing and herbs. I work down the road and my mate and I go at least once a week.

Delicious example of gormet Turkish food, in a convenient location. Had a chicken salad which was perfect, complete with a range of condiments and balanced spices. The staff are friendly and congenial. Would definitely come back! You wont be disappointed.

Terrible pizza. Ordered a "mixed sausage" pizza off UberEats. Contained a measly single precooked sausage worth of sausage, was not a "mix". False advertising, no effort at all. At least the crust was edible. Thankfully only paid $4 for it due to UE One promo. Paying full price would be robbery.

I work in Panmure, love kebabs and Queens kebabs really do it for me. I order mostly via Uber eats but today was my first visit in person. Beautiful establishment. Lovely furniture for those dining in and I was captured by the ceiling and wall ornaments. The food was amazing. I almost always get the mixed kebab with yogurt and BBQ sauce. Nice assortment of vege adding to the abundance of color and texture. Highly recommend to all to dine in. Staff are lovely, keen to chat and offer great customer service. I felt at ease and comfortable whilst waiting for my order. My local Kebab shop. I have been going here occasionally for a number of years, and it's always good. My usual go-tos are the chicken on rice, or chicken kebab. The food is fresh, and the place is cosy, not too flash. It's never empty and seems popular.

Door Dash Order: Missing Lamb Kebab extra meat. Loyal customer no more. Kebab missing from order. Rang so I could pick up. Man basically accused DDash driver of stealing it. Didnt want to know about it. Said make a complaint. I told him bag was sealed with staples. Not tampered with. Will never order Queens again. Have been customer for years first issue. Bye

Having lived in the area I've been here a lot, but not recently. Over the last few weeks my partner has really enjoyed kebabs so I thought I'd bring her here. This is definitely one of the better kebab places around. Their meat tastes much better than other places. I also really love eating in here. It has a nice cozy atmosphere.

A little gem in the middle of a not-so-great panmure. Don't be put off by The Neighbourhood just kebab shop is quality. The couple who own it are authentic in the way they marinate the Meats, lovely fresh salads and delicious flavours.

Very nice owners. Thought I had forgotten y wallet, no problem to them. Food was great; fresh and tasty. Very filling and good quality. Nice to sit outside and just watch the world go by. Kids didn’t want a kebab so ran to subway. No problem letting them eat at the table outside the shop. Really appreciate the customer service which is top notch. Defo come again.

Just recieved 2 sandwitch. It was burnt food with only lettuce. Literally there was no cucumber no tomtatoes. Worse kebab I have ever had. The food even cannot be eaten

Where else can you find a 13$ chicken kebab in Northshore with such a great taste. Yogurt Garlic sauce is great. The owner is friendly and welcoming.

A very disappointing experience! Will never go back! We ordered chicken and rice kebab and paid 22 Dollars for takeaway, but when we drove back home and open the box, it’s only half box filled, the other half is empty. It’s my son walked in, ordered and picked up, it’s like they gave a kid meal. When we called and asked, they said it’s the same for all customers. Here I send my photos! The picture on their menu, the photo of the box we got (photo taken before eating), and the money we paid for this half box food.

Love this place. The owner is such a great guy and the staff are already nice. If you are looking for a quick bite or a sit down casual dinner it's a nice relaxed place to go. No dress code, nice a chilled, good place to grab a feed before hitting the he bars.

Been popping by here whenever I am in the area and every time the quality is good. Very consistent. All the food options are lovely. Great vegetarian options too. Chips are always perfect. Price always feels reasonable to me. Definitely worth checking out. The amount of times I've popped in late for some food, absolute lifesaver.

Kebab to Go is the kebab restaurant to go to. This is one of my favorites. The staff were very friendly, which made each visit pleasant. The food was tasty and relatively cheaper than most kebab restaurants in the city. Same thing goes for their chickens. I also tried their Baklava and Turkish Delight which were also excellent. My favorite is their Iskender. It's like eating a kebab without the mess. The portion was quite huge for me. Even the medium option comes with plenty of meat, pita, and vegetables. Overall, Kebab to Go is a good spot for delicious and affordable meals. Definitely worth checking out.

I've eaten fair share of kebab on chips around Auckland and I can say this is the best bang for your buck you can get and one of the best tasting kebabs too. Portion size of their medium is already like a large in other shops but relatively cheaper in today's inflated economy. The lady cashier is also super nice and friendly!

Would so go back everyday for lunch, every meal is always packed with flavour and the perfect amount of everything, prices are not too expensive and worth it all. On January 31, 2023, around 5 pm, I ordered chicken kebab and chips with veggies from this restaurant, motivated by positive reviews and convenience during our child's hospital stay. While the taste was acceptable, the portion had more chips than chicken. Later that night, at 8 pm, I experienced severe stomach pain and diarrhea, repeating at 2 am. My elder daughter and wife also suffered abdominal pain and diarrhea around 3 am. Suspecting the last meal from the restaurant, I had a terrible experience, and I won't consider returning. I paid around 17 dollar for this beautiful experice. Thank you ☺️

Mixed on rice, it’s loaded with meat and they give heaps of salad too. A wide variety! Not stingy like the folks down the road. If you want kebabs, go here!

Ordered a Mixed kebab. The portion was large and tasted yummy. The mixture of salad and hummus along with BBQ sauce was exquisite. Would definitely recommend 👍

Popped in for a quick coffee and a slice of cake. Very tidy premises and the owner/ barista made a lovely cup of Java. I liked the matching decorative china wear, it added to the ambiance. The laying of cup & plate and placement of cutlery by the owner as seen was a classy touch.

Best kebabs I've had in Auckland. Can't find a decent equivalent elsewhere. Even though my husband and I live further away we still like to go back every now and then because it's always a satisfying meal. Been going for 6 years!

At the moment one of the best Kebab shops in the central Auckland area. The salads are usually fresh, the meat usually not dried out and prices are fair. Parking also available on site. The area a bit dodgy at night with the liquor store right next to it. Otherwise worth a try

I came here and got the lamb kebab on chips. Service was friendly, with a 5-minute wait time. The kebab itself was excellent, such a good portion for $15.50. I would highly recommend it to others.

Awesome food truck in the heart of Mt Albert. I got the chicken kabab combo with fries and soft drink for $20, a good deal, full of flavour and big meals. Friendly service and fast. Will definitely be back, highly recommend!

Lamb in the mix was not flash and chicken was bland without the chilly sauce. Partners rice was also not flash.

It is close to the sensational chicken at mount street in terms of its flavoring. However, it doesn’t have the curly fries. Here, you can choose sauce for your chips and chicken!

Probably the worst chicken kebab I ever had. It was dry and the chicken had a horrible taste to it, i didn't finish it. I had a piece of fried chicken also which wasn't great, well greasy and way too much salt. I'd try somewhere else!

Lamb burger was really good, I’d get it again! Fried chicken was a bit on the crunchy/dry side but tasty and I’d try it again. Chips were hard and dry.
