Bar
Vultures' Lane is a popular Kiwi pub in downtown Auckland known for its impressive selection of craft beers. With twenty-two rotating taps and a variety of bottled options, it's a haven for beer enthusiasts. The bar exudes an unpretentious and lively atmosphere, attracting both locals and tourists. Situated in the trendy Vulcan Lane area, the venue spans two floors, including a cozy basement space.
Very lively pub with outdoor seatings. Their West Coast IPA is the bomb. Love at first sip. I wish I can bring it back to my country 😭 The garlic fries goes well with their beers!

Just had two beers so no opinion on food. Their beer selection is fantastic whether guest taps or their own. Attentive service, enjoyed my conversation. The hazy IPAs were killer

I ordered a Meat & Cheese Pie, and that’s exactly what I got literally in 2 minutes. No clue how they did it! No more, no less, simple and straight to the point. But, it was an absolute delish! One of the best I’ve ever had. Service wasn’t the greatest despite staff being pretty friendly. But I’d definitely recommend it for a finger licking Pie!

So I was tired after a long day and decided to stop here on my way to the hotel. Right away, I was greeted with authenticity, it just felt real. I had a drink and instantly felt comfortable. I loved it so much that I actually came back later the same day and tried the chicken wings. Both times, I was helped by two different guys, both authentic and kind. The food was tasty, with generous portions, and the beer was great, local NZ brew. The place is tucked away down an alley, which makes it feel unique and away from the main street traffic noise. Thanks CJ & James 🙌🏽

THE AMAZING place to try various tap beer!! I love this place!!! The woman who served us was super kind and friendly!!!
WAT L — Google review
Meat pies and great selection of local beers! Many beers on draft and you can also get the pie+beer deal (great deal!). They also have many bottled beers to choose from, wines and hard liquor. The food looks amazing, but I have only had their pies. No table service here. Order and pay at the bar and they will bring your food to you when it's ready.
Alex S — Google review
Great brewpub in a charming historic building on cool Vulcan Lane, situated between the ferry terminal and the Auckland Art Gallery. There is an excellent selection of beers on tap, as well as ones in bottles. We ordered a fried chicken sandwich (delicious!) that came with thick cut fries (also delicious!). Barkeeps were very friendly and service was excellent. Highly recommended.

Had a couple of beers and some beef jerky here—both were great! The staff were friendly, and the beef jerky was especially delicious. Perfect spot to relax and kill some time.

Brothers Beer & Juke Joint BBQ in Mount Eden is a unique spot with an industrial vibe and '70s Kiwi bach decor. The onsite brewery offers a wide selection of tap beers and rare bottled options. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, making it a great place to enjoy some good beer and conversation. The venue also features a family-friendly atmosphere with a large covered courtyard, comfortable interior, and Southern-style cuisine from Juke Joint BBQ.
Have been a regular visitor to Brothers Beer, but this time we went for beer tasting. They do serve matching bites with each beer as well. The variety of beer they brew is always interesting. One can brew their own hops as well. The people serving were absolutely amazing, and very friendly as usual. So many vivid choices of beer, you might love some, and you probably will hate some. But the experience this place provides is unparallel. A must go for all beer lovers !!!
Sandy S — Google review
We went out for date night and ordered the meat platter for 2, mac and cheese large and small cornbread alongside 2 cocktails and apple pie for dessert. Meat platter: good value for money and delicious. Pork ribs were a hit dry and didn't fall off the bone like you would hope. Rest of the platter was delicious with a range of sauces available. Also game with pickles, slaw and chips which meant we likely didn't need to order the corn bread and mac and cheese as well but was worth trying. Cocktail: sub par at best, wouldn't go for cocktails but since it's a brewery I suppose the other drinks available would be better. Apple pie: was tasty but overpriced for the portion size. Base was incredibly hard and sauce didn't taste homemade. Would go again purely for the platter.
Lauren — Google review
Great atmosphere and delicious food! Only issue I have are the pint sizes and cost. It’s almost embarrassing! For a beer spot too. Imagine how many more customers there’d be with pints at the prices they’re given
Kate H — Google review
Great atmosphere - Funky little place it is. Has got lots of pinballs machines in amongst the brewery. I went for the food as I'm not a craft beer/ale drinker (reason for the 4 star and not 5) and I can say it was amazing! The chicken tenders are the best I have ever had! We went on First Table. The platter is not included just FYI but there's plenty of other bits and bobs to choice from. We had ribs, chicken wings, chicken tenders, coleslaw and fries! All of it was banging but the tenders took the top spot. Lots of flavour on each plate we had. We ended up with 2 ribs, come fries and a chicken wing left which we weren't able to take away as it was First Table. Lovely little place - nice little outside patio and some comfy sofas too. I would go back for sure!
Rebecca B — Google review
Had beers and dinner here with some friends Booked an outdoor table which we reserved and was ready on arrival. Great selection of craft beers good outdoor area for kids to play in. Food: ordered meat platter for 2-3 was ok portion size more like for 2 ppl , pulled pork was mushy , brisket good, lamb good , ribs were dry average , chicken wings 10/10 , chips nice and crunchy and the slaw was average taste like supermarket packet overall all 7/10 Kids enjoyed there meals and chicken burgers…
Lee K — Google review
Nelson is a legend, great overview of the craft tap bears, good service. I had the pork ribs and brisket burger and Park Hazy, all highly recommended.
Darby J — Google review
I came here for lunch yesterday. The restaurant was a bit cold, so I probably wouldn’t visit during the colder months. We ordered the meat platter, which tasted very good and was great value for the price. The only downside was that some of the meats weren’t as hot as I would’ve liked possibly because our table was further from the kitchen and the place itself was a little chilly. Aside from that, the food was delicious and very affordable, and I’d definitely come back again!
Krizzia F — Google review
We had a very enjoyable time. The food was excellent, atmosphere was fun and relaxing, service was attentive. What can you say about the beer but pour me another many to choose from and very tasty. A definate must return to try other menu items and beer pairing. Thank you for the good time

Bar
Galbraith's Alehouse is a quintessential English-inspired tavern and microbrewery located in Auckland. It stands out as a unique beer-focused establishment, offering an extensive selection of largely English and European-style beers, including rotating guest taps and their own housemade brews. The ambiance exudes the charm of a real English pub without feeling contrived. The venue also prides itself on serving comforting pub food to complement the exceptional beer selection, with options like the hearty beef and ale pie.
Impressive gastro-pub! Lovely beer garden, open fires, traditional wooden architecture, beautiful pints on tap and really good food. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive yet relaxed. The secret garden at the back has outdoor bean bags, flower gardens, sun umbrellas and a little bar and bbq. They also brew onsite. We had such a lovely time. I don’t expect a huge pub in the middle of town to have such great food! So pleasantly surprised. Fresh, succulent prawns, perfectly cooked with handmade soft tacos and some bite to them. Beautiful delicate dumplings (though serving in a soup not a broth was a bit different). It’s one of the best pubs in Auckland, easily. Just came from living in London 15 years and it’s nice to have a slice of proper pub in town. Thanks team!
Syd E — Google review
We visited Galbraith's on a Saturday afternoon in June, and we were welcomed with a warm fire indoors, an open fire outdoors and fantastic seating in the beer garden. We saw that roast dinner was available on Sundays, so we booked for the following day. The Sunday roast was well presented, and service was fast, despite being very busy. The beer brewed on site was great. If you intend to try a roast make sure you book it with the staff.
Rob S — Google review
A classic and ‘traditional’ pub that retains all the charm of an ‘old’ English establishment while still presenting a modern look in to he art of brewing. A very popular meeting place with a great menu and a welcoming vibe…including a good selection of drinks.
Heemi K — Google review
We stopped in as part of our Vintage Views “Great British Pub Crawl” and Galbraith’s was an absolute highlight! Fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff, and an amazing selection of house-brewed beers — you can really feel the passion for craft and tradition here. Our guests loved the tasting and the behind-the-scenes brewery experience. A true Auckland classic — we’ll be back with more happy travellers soon! 🍺 — Vintage Views NZ

I had Fish tacos with Raven Beer, my wife had the sweet corn fritters and my daughter the salmon fish cake. Also had the espresso martini, bloody mary, and Mango sticky rice. We enjoyed all of our meals and drinks. I enjoyed a couple more pints before we left. Waitress was great, very helpful and friendly. Never let a glass run dry.
Robert M — Google review
Best Sunday roast in the city! From Brits who are roast mad. Can’t beat Galbraiths, feels like your right back at home. Great ale, roaring fire what else do you need!
Libby F — Google review
Good old English style Pub with traditional style English food and atmosphere. Wooden decor, open fire places and on site brewery, awesome.

Had after work drinks here - wine selection is good and not steep prices. The truffle fries were excellent. Staff friendly and attentive. Great for large groups. Looking forward to the Sunday Roast special in the not so distant future.

The Brewers Co-Operative in Auckland is a laid-back spot known for its wide selection of craft beers on tap and in bottles, as well as its delicious fish 'n' chips. With over 20 beers on tap and a knowledgeable staff, it's a great place to explore different brews. The location is perfect for those looking to experience new flavors and enjoy quality craft beer. They offer classic fish 'n' chips alongside popular beer labels like Fork, Epic, and Garage Project.
Absolutely amazing fish and chips. Today’s fish was Tarakihi - served perfectly crisped on top of a bed of thick chips. The bartender helped me pick out a great New Zealand beer as well - this one in particular was the Black Sands Lager from Auckland. Super friendly, huge variety of beers to choose from, chill vibes - will return!

On a holiday. Arrived here on a Friday afternoon. Ordered a local beer and fried takahiri fish. Then ordered a sampler. Best decision ever. Wanted to try local beers and hang out. It's quiet at 2pm and easy to relax. Recommended if you want to try local craft beers. Manager in charge Nicholas Johnson. Gave good recommendation.
Susan S — Google review
The meal can be served at 3pm. No break time, nice food. We coudlnt had beer but the food was great. Fish and chips are not greasy at all, jalapeno fries was also nice. Highly recommending this place!

After our cruise outing, we went to this place to go have a bit. I have to say, the food was lovely and nice. The fish and chips was great. I would definitely recommend this place for sure.

After a shockingly bad experience at Mr. Murdoch’s, came here. It’s refreshing to know customer service isn’t completely dead in the city of sails. This Carrot Cake beer was amazing. Great variety of beers and excellent service. No wonder these guys stick around while so many others come and go.

16 Tun is a popular free house bar situated on Jellicoe Street near Viaduct Harbour in Auckland. The bar offers an extensive selection of craft beers from various regions of New Zealand, with over 15 rotating beers on tap, including IPAs, pale ales, sour and fruit beers, craft lagers, and stouts. It operates daily from 11am to 11pm (with extended hours until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays).
Great beer spot located just behind the main stores on north wharf. Huge range of local NZ beer on tap at very affordable prices. Great atmosphere and an easy location to sit down away from the bustling front of the wharf.
Jay W — Google review
A great spot for a chilled drink at The Viaduct - preferably one of the 19 beers on tap - and they are carefully chosen ones! I had the Lakeman Copycat IPA and the Bruschetta. Perfect!
David E — Google review
The best craft beer bar in Auckland. Served by knowledgeable craft beer lovers. Food has gone next level, especially the burgers. Treat yourself to a long afternoon here with a good friend or two
Travis F — Google review
Great selection of fresh delicious beer. Burgers very impressive. The loaded waffle fries were great, but did have a sweetness and a slight cinnamon spice. Was a little unusual but still good.
Sham P — Google review
Epic place for craft beer with a large selection on tap and even bigger selection in cans/bottles. The food was fresh and super tasty, highly recommend any of the burgers. Staff were friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable. Chilled atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit whilst in Auckland !!

We visited Auckland to see family and stopped in 16 Tun a few times whilst over there, and it really is a great bar. Things we enjoyed included - The outdoor seating, meaning we could get some sunshine when the weather was nice; The beer selection - there's loads to choose from from a range of breweries! The food - a good selection that'll keep you well fed without breaking the bank; The staff - really amazing and owner Ewen knows his beer! If you're in the Wyndyard Quarter and after a drink or two, highly recommended!

Don't miss this place the food is incredible. The service is good and the team will help you out with great service. We had many shared dishes, which were all fantastic. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food provided go early or book ahead.

An ideal spot for Friday after works drinks brought us to 16 Tun in Wynyard Quarter. Staff is fantastic and friendly and it was most impressive that they allow you to sample the craft beers and ale to help you choose. The wine selection was very good to match the lively ambiance and diverse patronage. As the evening chilled set in we ordered some small sharing plates of pulled pork sliders and crispy spicy chicken bites and they were absolutely delicious, hitting the spot!

Brew on Quay is a lively and inviting spot with a rooftop patio offering an extensive variety of craft beers and a diverse food menu. The bar provides a relaxed and cozy atmosphere, making it perfect for catching major sporting events while enjoying friendly service. The rooftop area is intimate yet spacious, featuring a separate bar serving craft brews and hearty meals. It's an Auckland icon known for its great selection of beer and Kiwi food favorites.
Amazing staff! Such great people. Friendly, knowledgeable, professional and bringing the chill vibes. The range of drinks is outstanding- great pints and they even have our fav; Morning Cider. The building is beautiful - old world solid wood with plenty of intriguing curiosities gracing the walls. There are cozy spots hidden all round the venue so it can feel intimate even when crowded. Decent food - we weren’t big fans of the wings ‘cause we like them classic-style with crispy skin, but we’re from London so we get picky when it comes to fried chicken, these are American Buffalo style as stated on the menu. This is, however, the best pub on the waterfront. We go here whenever we’re doing a shoot in town and the team are brilliant hosts. Thanks guys!
Syd E — Google review
Looking for a place to eat and Brew on Quay caught my eye as we passed on the bus. We walked back and were not disappointed. The staff was great and the food was tasty. I had the beef meat pie and it was wonderful. The meat was tender and very flavorful and the top crust was light and flaky. I paired that with a local stout and I was in heaven. Our meal and drinks were reasonably priced, but the staff made dining here very pleasant. They were patient in answering our questions and made us feel very welcomed. Seek out this place for a relaxing good time.
Kenneth V — Google review
Service was incredibly friendly and beer selection was great. However, we were really disappointed at the size and quality of the bowls of chips we received. At $11 each, we anticipated a little more than a small handful of frozen fries chucked on a desert plate. Very poor value.
Anita J — Google review
We went to BoQ to catch up with people over lunch, so not there for the beer (120 brews on tap!). Good service, good food (although pretty limited), but felt too expensive for what it was. I guess this is the result of Auckland CBD rents.
Pete O — Google review
The amicable service, refreshing variety of alcoholic drinks, as well as the delicious food definitely put Brew on Quay on the map. The atmosphere and interior setting are a little disorganized but quite spacious. The pricing is fair too, which is why we will return to knock back the beers with the menu items we all got too full to try.
Spark V — Google review
We were a party of 6 and wanted a quiet area to talk. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. We were placed in a semi private area which was perfect for us. Visually interesting. The staff were fantastic, helpful and friendly. The food very tasty with generous portions. The drinks selection was impressive. Highly recommend this place. Thank you for a great evening.

We had a good time here and would definitely recommend the desserts and beer paddle. As for my burger fans I’d rate the Wagyu cheeseburger with added bacon ⭐️⭐️⭐️ It was yummy, but missing something and the bun disintegrated before I could finish the burger. One of the best beer spots in Auckland, where you feel like you’re really on a pacific island. Fantastic home brewed beers, unique snacks, great pizza oven, dog friendly, amazing outdoor atmosphere in all weather, staff were superb! Can’t fault it and highly recommend for groups, beer lovers, or anyone looking for a casual weekend afternoon chill out in the beautiful north of Auckland.

I’m not a beer drinker so I had no expectations for this place but it was great! I will definitely return. The menu was extensive and had lots of non beer drinks too. We had the delicious jalapeño poppers, chips and oliebollen. Everything was great. Kombucha and beers were good too!

Hallertau Brewery is such a fantastic spot! The atmosphere is wonderful, with greenery all around that makes it feel so relaxing. We tried a tasting paddle with five different brews, and each one had its own unique flavor—so much fun to sample them all! There’s also a spacious play area for kids, making it comfortable for families. The place is big and open, the music is great, and overall, it’s a perfect spot to unwind. Highly recommended!

Met up with some long lost friends fo lunch. This place is awesome. Great setting, great food, great service. Yep everything was great. I dont very often give 5 stars, but in this case they earned it. 👍

Ali & Grayson made my mate Dan & I, a great afternoon long lunch; we filled our boots with a couple of beer paddles (me on the larger finding their "Italian" my favorite), accompanied by delicious Jalapeño Poppers, Crumbed Pulled Pork & Skirt Steak Skewers, chips & finishing with 2 Guinness compliments of Brewmiester Killian. Fantastic friendly service, great atmosphere & highly recommended; will definitely be back. 5/5

We recently dined at the Riverhead location and really enjoyed the experience overall. The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and the ambience was warm and welcoming. However, I was quite disappointed with the kids’ meal - it was noticeably saltier than the adult meals. It’s surprising that the food prepared for children would have so much salt. Apart from that, everything else was very good, but I do hope they review their seasoning for kids’ dishes.

I recently visited Hallertau Brewery, and from start to finish, it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and that relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that instantly tells you you’re in for a good time. The place has such a great vibe spacious, rustic yet modern, and filled with the inviting aroma of good food and freshly poured beer. Let’s start with the beer because that’s what Hallertau is all about. Their range is simply top-notch. Each brew had a distinct character, and you could really taste the craftsmanship that goes into every glass. The #1 Kölsch-style ale was crisp, light, and refreshing perfect for easing into the afternoon. The #3 IPA was another standout, with just the right balance of hops and citrusy bite without being overpowering. I also tried a seasonal special that had subtle fruity notes and a creamy finish it’s clear that the brewers here know their craft inside and out. The food was just as impressive. Everything came out fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. I ordered the lamb shoulder (which was cooked to perfection tender, juicy, and well-seasoned) and shared a few sides with the table the fries were golden and crisp, and the salads had that farm-fresh quality you can taste. Friends ordered pizzas and burgers, and every dish looked incredible. You can tell there’s real thought and quality behind the menu it’s not just “brewery food,” it’s restaurant-level dining. And of course, the service tied it all together. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what they do. Our server was knowledgeable about both the food and the beer selection, offering helpful recommendations that hit the mark every time. Even when it got busy, the team stayed on top of things drinks refilled promptly, plates cleared quickly, and always a smile at the table. Overall, Hallertau Brewery delivered in every way great beers, delicious food, and outstanding service. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer, try one more beer, and plan your next visit before you’ve even left. Highly recommend to anyone who loves good craft beer, hearty food, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back! 🍺

Happy, fun place. Excellent selection of craft beers. Super friendly folks that took time to make recommendations and even provide us with a list of other beer spots to try as we traveled through New Zealand. They had a food truck outside. They had a nice selection of wines if you’re with someone who is into beer drinker.

One of the best spots to grab a beer in the shore. Has a great selection of beers that's always changing and a different food truck every week. It's also great that its dog friendly. Highly recommend it

If you want a great range of beers then this is your place. Have food caravans changing out weekly. It is quite cold even inside in the winter so wrap up. Not sure u could ever drink all of their choices

Great selection of beers/ciders available. Food comes from a track parked outside, which is different on different weeks. Interesting arrangement, but a little unusual. Decor is simple and functional. Good place for mates to meet

2024: A great watering hole with over 40 frothies on tap. They hold an epic triva night that stretches for aeons and various other social events. The food trucks should also be looked at. One thing I can't wrap my head around is the vessel sizes, a "full" being the larger size.

Great find! Space is tucked away behind some odd shops so you might miss it! There are 40 taps to choose from, get a tasting platter if you're keen on trying several types. There's also a food truck on weekly rotation if you need to grab a bite.

I had a 500ml of iron sands. A stout flavourful excellence with chips. Felt great with warm atmosphere. Had heaters inside and outside too. Very nice place to enjoy open air and unfortunately the drizzle turned into rain and had to enjoy the rest of my beer Inside. Very cool bar tender with good tasting beers to offer according to your tastes. Recommended

I had booked for my partner and his family for his dad’s 60th birthday and let me tell you we loved this place! The food was amazing, everyone loved their food especially the brisket as well as the steak! However we were just disappointed only 3 of us were able to get steak but everyone else really enjoyed the brisket! They also gave free ice cream to all the kids which they were happy about! When I was booking, I didn’t know which room to book for but they gave us the room at the back and that area was so beautiful, it was such a nice rustic design, I loved it. The staff also were very lovely, all of them were especially one of the women working there. She ended up giving my FIL a free drink and he was super happy about that. She was very kind and easygoing, as well as the men at the bar too. I would definitely come here again as all the staff were lovely as well as the food. Thank you guys once again.

Brilliant vibe, passionate services and delicious food, what else can be better than this? I went with a friend and brought my boyfriend(Ex-boyfriend now) back to there again cuz he loves beef brisket. Roasted on the outside with a bit of fat with crispy fries. Jalapeños poppers are so tasty, melted sour cream inside, I loved it so much.

Sitting outdoors is kinda hard as the place is right on the junction at Broadway, so not exactly the quietest part of town. But the food was good. The pizza was good, the nachos were good. All of it was good. There was a cockroach in one of their water bottles (it was empty at the time), and later I'm pretty sure they gave me the same bottle of water. Who knows. This was two weeks ago and I've yet to die from water poisoning so it's fine.

Have been a couple of times and would thoroughly recommend it for a lunch or dinner and a chance to try great craft beer. You can get tasting racks, with plenty of different taps to sample. This was the perfect place to come after a day at the zoo. We loved the British classic pub feeling— wood paneling, bar stools, booths, punched tin ceiling, carved wooden bar — but it’s more than just a pretty face. They have an extensive selection of beers on tap, wines, and a full bar, and the food choices are more creative than most pubs. We loved our Chicken and Waffles! The Garage Project Taproom & Cellar Door Kingsland is a must-visit for beer enthusiasts in Auckland. With a tasting license only, visitors are encouraged to dive into a paddle of the Wellington brewing superstars' ever-changing and bar-raising beers. The limited seating doesn't hinder the experience, as cheese toasties and good vibes complement the glorious brews. Regular special events feature guest food trucks parked out front, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
Had a great lunch stop on the way to the airport on Tuesday. The range of GP beers is always a selection dilemma, but settled on a February Fresh IPA... delicious. Enjoyed a great VEGAN masala toastie. Guys you really need to refresh the menu and add more plant-based choices!
Mike E — Google review
I had such high hopes after reading the reviews. There are three carparks out front and some roadside parking. The selection was good. A nice variety of choices. It seems popular, because it got quite busy with take aways at one point. There are no chairs with any backs. Only benches and barstools, so it's not some place I would relax and linger. I ordered the beer flight and said I would like some food with it. The only option was a ham and cheese toastie or a three cheese toastie. I opted for the three cheese. After about 5 minutes I got the beer and it looked great. I asked the lady where the food was. She said it will take 10 or so minutes. WHY WHY would you pull the beer "10 or so minutes" before the food is ready? I literally had to sit and watch my beer go warm and flat, which happens much faster in the small glasses. It was unfortunately a disappointing experience.

Great lunchtime experience with a "curated" flight and delicious shiitake toastie with pickles onion and crisps on the side. I asked for a selection of beers that would contrast different hops, and got exactly that. A really interesting (and enjoyable) tasting experience. Cheers to the team!

Discovered these guys after a collab with Mountain Culture (one of our locals) and did two tasting boards to try all of the current "Yuzu" blends. Hoped to try the Irish Stout but alas, no longer available. Didn't enjoy the Yuzu blends much and the weed beer was particularly potent for me personally. However, the black beer was lovely as were the sours. This location also has a food truck out front that does magahrita pizzas if this is your jam. Small location but worth a visit to see what the flavour of the month is on tap, also plenty of canned options, as well as zero alcohol.

If you like the Garage Project brand and brews, then this is the place to visit in Auckland. The Garage Project venue offers beer on tap, beers in the can, bulk buys (24 can boxes), and merchandise for the fan. Staff are friendly. Urbanaut Brewery and Tap Room is a working brewery with a retro 1970s tasting area featuring unique furniture. They offer two different six-beer tasting flights, including seasonal and one-off beers, as well as brews from Yeastie Boys. The brewery in Kingsland also produces one-off beers like cucumber and mint sour, emphasizing innovation. Visitors can take tours to learn about the brewing process and enjoy beer tastings while experiencing great customer service.
Been a couple of times now. You eat with your eyes here - the food always comes out looking amazing! Tried the Butter Chicken Burger when it was on as a special for Burgernation. Saucy, tangy, and easily one I could’ve gone back for seconds. The smash burgers are on point too. Plenty of beers to choose from! My go-to is the Passionfruit Guava Sour - can’t go wrong. The place is a vibe, especially being right in the middle of a working brewery. Staff are super friendly, and the best part - it’s dog friendly.

Urbanaut Brewery and Tap Room, a fantastic experience! As someone who appreciates good vegetarian/vegan options, was impressed with their offerings. It's not always easy to find a place that caters so well to plant- based diets. It's true that the food isn't fast food, so don't expect the a quick bite. The dishes are clearly made with care, and the flavors are amazing. The space itself is open and inviting, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, which really added to the positive vibe. And of course, for the beer lovers, this place is a must-visit. They have a great selection of brews, making it the perfect spot to try something new with some amazing food. I highly recommend Urbanaut!

My friends and I did the brewery tour recently. All up it was about an hour. It was informative and interesting. It was one of the better brewery tours I’ve done. The team members were super friendly too. We were able to sample some of the beer too. The Copacabana IPA was a highlight! Had the classic smash burger and some chips afterwards - both were delicious.

I went for a tour and tasting at Ubernaut Brewery and Taproom. We got an up-close look at the craft of brewing, learned about the brewing process, discovered why craft beer has transformed the industry, and what makes their brews stand out. During the tour we tasted a pilsner from the one of the ice cold tanks. It still had a lot of sediment and a lot of yeast. It tasted like liquid bread. We saw how beer is made from barley to bottle (can actually) and how the East Indian Company influenced the use of hops and how Indian Pale Ale (IPA) was born. The canning and labeling process was also very interesting. We had a very knowledgeable and passionate guide, which made the tour very engaging. There is an amazing variety of interesting beers, ales, stouts, sours, and ciders. My favourite was the salted caramel stout, strawberry sours, and blueberry cheesecake IPA. It was rounded ofd with some bacon chips (if you book through Grab One). It's the perfect tour for people who enjoy beer or even if you don't, because these flavours are very interesting and tasty, there's sure to be something to tickle your fancy. Side note: I was very impressed with their extensive vegetarian and vegan menu items

The Shakespeare Hotel I Restaurant & Bar I Pub I Micro Brewery is a lively establishment with a rich history dating back to 1898. It's renowned as the first English-style brew pub in New Zealand, serving the local crowd for over a century. The venue features warm and comfortable rooms, an English-influenced pub, and a restaurant offering delectable meals. Additionally, it houses a microbrewery that produces hundreds of thousands of liters of craft beer annually using top-quality ingredients.
I can only rate the bar and the meal, as we didn't stay at their accommodation. Although the restaurant was closed, we were able to order at the bar. The bar was very busy, but the staff took our order and brought our drinks promptly to us. We both ordered the chicken parmigiana and were very happy with it. The serving size was more than enough, and we felt the wait really wasn't that long at all, especially considering how busy they were. I'd be happy to return again the next time I'm in Auckland.
Stephanie M — Google review
Can't review the hotel as we were only there for dinner and drinks. Pro: excellent beer on tap! Cons: everything else. Ordered fish and chips (the special that night) and a burger. Despite there only being a dozen people there, it took 35 minutes for the food. Once it finally arrived, huge disappointment. Burger was huge but had little to make it special. Crazy amount of spring mix on there for some reason (seriously, one normal piece of crunchy lettuce would work!) Had to eat with a fork to avoid the soggy bun. The fish and chips, my partner said: "some of the worst I've ever had". But yay for the beer.

What a find! This is an amazing place, A huge friendly welcome by all the staff and as hubby's favourite alcoholic drink is real ales, this was his taste of heaven as the bar had a great variety of brewery ales on tap and within bottles too. During our visit to the bar/pub, we asked if it was OK to wear our t-shirt from back home in Wales/UK. For a charity photo. Staff agreed and our pictures were taken of us enjoying the experience of some great real ales. We highly recommend for those to whom love a great real ale and 5 star 🌟 customer service.

We stumbled upon this place whilst walking around. We came two nights in a row as we liked it so much. The first night was in the restaurant and the second night was in the bar (as the restaurant was closed). The staff are incredibly friendly, the bar was welcoming and had a good buzz about it. And as for the meals - delicious and plentiful. Certainly good value for money and excellent service. Would thoroughly recommend.

The location can’t be beat. Steps from the cathedral, a block from the SkyTower, right on the Main Street and just a few blocks from the harbour. However check in ( at least in the off season) was at the restaurant m, when it is open. They only have a few rooms so understandable they don’t have extra staff. I had to cart my luggage around until the restaurant opened. There is no elevator

We stayed close by, so can't comment on the accommodation. However we are here 3 nights running for dinner. The manager downstairs was a lovely young lady that was very helpful. We are seniors, and the bar was very noisy. She suggested we order our drinks and meal downstairs, and go upstairs. (The bar upstairs wasn't staffed for another 30 mins). The meals were very good pub grub (so if you are looking for fine dining, this is not the place for you!) The chef was Asian, so there was always a little Asian twist as a side. The chef came to our table the 3 nights we were there, and I asked what the Asian accompaniments were. The 3rd night I went to thank her and she was moved to tears that I would do that. Huge hug from her and also when we said goodbye to the young manager. Well done team!

We went for dinner and restaurant was closed. It was busy so not ideal eating in the bar with the table/chair format and the pool table. Not the biggest space but we were there and hungry so chose to order. Anyway getting to the food - it was awful. I feel like i ended up in a different place after reading the reviews but was definitely The Shakespeare. I ordered the lamb burger and kumara fries. The three other people I was with ordered the chicken parmigiana, and x2 potato wedges, paying extra for bacon and cheese. The lamb burger was extra dry, overcooked/burnt and tasteless. The kumara fries were burnt and inedible. I asked if I could get a replacement to be told that was how kumara fries are. Hmmm no they are not, I make them all the time and eat them when out. They ended up giving me a $5 cash refund for the fries as I'm assuming they didn't know how not to burn fries. Or understand how to cook good kumara fries. The chicken parmigiana was burnt and dry to the point you couldn't cut it with a knife. Salad was ok. Chips were good apparently. The wedges - overcooked (hard to believe I know, given they are potatoes!). The extra paid for the cheese and bacon was a waste of money as barely any of either. Lots of food left on the plates so hopefully that was a sign to the chef..... Really disappointing meal and would never return. Should have asked for a refund for all meals. Gross!

If only there was a rating for the beer. Having been a fan of Behemoth, I've always wanted to pop in to this place. No complaints about the beer, but the steak and kidney pie I had was a bit of a disappointment. Needs more kidney. I think I had 2 little bits in there. Nice crispy shoestring fries... but that jus..or gravy?? Was cloying on the pallette. The other half said the burger was alright.

Come on Auckland! You guys need to come and support this great business! The beers are off the chart and the food is fantastic! I love a hazy IPA, each one was unique and delicious! There are over 30 different beers to choose from! The food was really good. I highly recommend the crispy butchers bites, the deep fried gherkins, the Korean cauliflower and the ChurBurger! That ChurBurger was……chur!! Bloody delicious!!! Not a big fan of shoestring fries (I like the proper chunky fries) but overall, fantastic beer and food…I highly recommend!

Big fan of Churly's. If you love Behemoth then you will love it here. Plenty of beer options, and different sort of beers to suit anyone's taste. Is quite hazy leaning, but so is Behemoth. The steaks are amazing and well worth the money. Even the "cheaper" T-bone steak was great.

Great place. The atmosphere, the food, the drinks and the staff. Very professional outfit. They do all things well. They're are extremely professional and look after their patrons. We had our work xmas night here, eveyone had something good to say. Great finger food all night, huge range of drinks to choose from. The only improvement would be to allow the smokers areas to have alc. That is a bit annoying and realistically needs to be looked at. Over all, I would highly recommend this place.

Probably my favourite NZ brewer and now they have an Auckland outpost where there are around 20 beers on tap and some rather tasty food options. I opted for the tasting paddle to sample a few of the brews on offer. My favourite was the Behemoth Stay-cation Hazy IPA, which was so juicy. The taps change regularly and Behemoth frequently creates new beers, so each visit is a taste adventure. This was our first visit after the full kitchen opened and I was eager to test the menu. Partnership with A Lady Butcher means this is a great place for meat-lovers. I chose the roast beef sandwich, which was so good. My husband had order envy. His burger was good, but apparently needed seasoning. We didn’t realise the meals came with fries so ordered tater tots as well. They the best with creamy potato filling and a slight bite. We’ll be back to continue working our way through the 20 taps and trying the new options.

Fantastic waterfront venue with a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. This is the first bar I visited in NZ so can’t comment on if the price of beers compared to the rest of the market. But it did seem pretty expensive. That being said there’s a wide variety of beers on tap. It’s a lovely spot to sit back & people watch. The location and vibe make it a great location. Apparently On Monday there’s a quiz night On Tuesdays there’s a 5k run!

The atmosphere is nice with a good location, the decoration is also attractive. But it's expensive for the offer, probably due to a more tourist location. The food was not bad but not good. Some different offers like the fried pork belly burger ... not working... different is not necessarily good, and that is the case here. So I can't say it's totally bad, but I would pick another place. The staff was friendly anyway.

OK, the beer is good. The food is not. Actually the snacks are OK. I've been a few times and know. The 'schnitzy' I had the other night was diabolical. You can see from the picture the schnitzel isn't much more than a couple of mildly oversized chicken tenders done in an air fryer for too long. Coleslaw was great. This was just shy of $30. Never again. The last time I saw those words were carved into a desk at a Kennys fast food outlet in Florence. My GF's burger had significant issues but I agreed to keep it to my food.

The pumpkin and ricotta was great, the service was amazing, and the cherry on top was the beautiful view of the harbor at sunset. Our server Maggie helped us by answering any questions we had about our meals, she also quickly and efficiently sorted out an issue that occured during the billing process. Would recommend!

Great water front venue, service friendly, ordered a Hazy, a margarita and the potato skins as a snack, all very nice but $16 dollars for 5.5 potato skins is taking the piss

The focus here is solely on craft beer, so don't expect to find mass-produced options or artisanal cocktails.
Craft beer, more craft beer and if you need it, some craft beer. More importantly, the bunker is full of knowledge to serve amazing craft to you. Everything from overseas is specially imported fresh and refrigerated, you will find beer here you won't get anywhere else in southern hemisphere.

Cool underground bar. Never knew it was here. Huge selection if craft beers from around the world. Great staff too, happy to chat to us for a long time about the beers, you can tell it is a real passion of his. would recommend to any major beer fans

Awesome beer selection! Love to meet people who are passionate about beer.
Hamish W — Google review
Only serves craft beer. They are all very bitter, some are made with strange ingredients like mango, and one I had was clearly off as it tasted sour. Staff were not helpful, they only knew weird things about obscure beers, and kept offering me something I couldn'y pronounce "woot stoot" or something. There is no regular beer available, not even a Stella. Of course if your a true fan of only the finest craft then it's unlikely you'll finder a cooler place in Auckland.

Great concept bar, definitely for the adventurous beer drinker wanting to try obscure beers from around the world. Smidge snobby as I was corrected when I called it craft beer - apparently you can’t say that?.. So good place to stop for a beer you’ve probably never seen before

A lovely bar/restaurant with a great view over Auckland’s marina. It has a really nice atmosphere, friendly service, and the food is absolutely delicious. I ordered a vodka and apple juice, but it didn’t seem to contain any alcohol. After mentioning this, I was immediately offered a replacement — which turned out to be the same taste. I assume the standards for mixed drinks are much lighter here. After pointing it out again, they promptly offered me a refund. A very professional and honest place — definitely worth a visit!

Loved the vibe at Dr Rudy’s Pub! Great music, friendly staff, and awesome drinks and their world famous pizzas 🍕 Perfect spot to chill with family and/or friends.” Highly recommend the spot with water view on the balcony 💙

Attended the Drag Quiz Night at Dr Rudi’s. The food (Oysters, fries and pizza) were delicious, as was the mocktail. The staff were friendly and attentive as well. Would definitely return - such a good energy and good quality restaurant. Things for improvement: The table was incredibly wobbly/unstable, which made it feel very precarious. The quiz was also quite short.

Nice food but chicken schnitzel could’ve been better, was served with gravy which wasn’t very complimentary. Service was good everyone very nice, really nice spot and a good view! Outdoor seating has heaters as well which was a nice touch.

Had a great time at Dr Rudi’s! The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and the rooftop terrace is such a cool spot with amazing views. One of the best parts is that you can play bowling with your friends for free, which makes the whole experience even more fun. But what really made it special was the service from Udi — super friendly, attentive, and truly personalized. You can tell he genuinely cares about making sure everyone has a great time. First time here since it was Tyler Street Garage and wow, great stepup. Excellent beer selections with craft beer from the best on tap, food is fabulous and really just what the doctor ordered for this kind of place. Its also big enough to handle a good crowd. Service was on point and we all had a great first experience. We will be back.

Cass T — Google review
Food is amazing, drink options more focus on beer and wine, cocktail selection is limited, we order duck legs, big portions but taste bit plaint, the Pork beer is wonderful, one star short is the music, too alliterative, need some pop to bring up the atmosphere.
Jccn Z — Google review
Tiki themed cocktail bar with an exceptional view on the second floor. Go inside and upstairs for the balcony! Rum (pirate) dominate drinks but still delicious for the most part. If anything negative to say it would be the drinks were a bit too sweet but a little soda water helped. Service was great and our water glasses were never empty for long. Great for dates!

So loud in here at night probably because of all of the voices bouncing off the hard walls haha, but friiendly, fun staff and cool underground feeling decor. Really good, cosy spot for a quick drink or an extended drink session with your mates. Love that they have mulled wine and port on the menu. They have an extensive selection of beers, wines and cocktails. Friendly and chatty service in a great location. We often go here for a drink before going to Mezze (just across the way) or for an after dinner tipple after dining at Mezze. I had a really strong but delish peanut butter cocktail. Can't quite remember the name of it. Good location. Bartender is super nice!

Save Ferris, formerly known as the Uptown Freehouse, has been revamped into an 80s-themed haven featuring classic arcade games and pinball machines. The bar offers a rotating selection of 12 craft beers on tap and a well-stocked fridge for canned and bottled options. What sets this spot apart is its commitment to 80s pricing for the arcade games, allowing patrons to enjoy more gaming for their money while savoring the craft beer selection.
Fantastic selection of beers and a well stocked bar, reasonable range of machines including a few multiplayer ones. Very friendly and helpful staff. Cash out available for the machines (naturally)!

The beer selection is great! Really enjoyed our tasting paddles. The meat lovers pizza and Parmesan truffle fries were pretty good. We were there on the Sunday evening of Labour Weekend - strange ambience as there were only 3 other, small groups in such a large space. Very different vibe to the Lumsden.

Good cozy place to go to where it has a huge TV screen. To have some good Sammies and pizzas and relax with your friends. It's more like a sports bar than an actual restaurant. Attendants have always been friendly here. Not much of a disappointment. Loved your food, thank you.

Went for after work drinks with the team, there was something for everyone, except food but they let you order in! We will definitely be back, great entertainment 👍
Sheree M — Google review
Went here for my friends birthday dinner. The menu is rather strangely broken up into pizzas, toasted sandwiches, small snacks and a throw away salad section. We had “The Lumsden’s” Poutine curly fries and a toasted sandwich. The sandwich bread was not crispy enough and it was more like a melted cheese sandwich. The Poutine was fine, huge serving, which was great as it meant we could share. Some of the others got Pizza and I wish I had after seeing them, they looked really good! The beer selection was pretty decent and had craft beers on tap. I’m guessing this is the kind of place you meet for a beer rather than a sit down meal as I left disappointed in the options... the last strange thing is that we were there on a Saturday night and there were maybe only a few other groups there. By 9:30pm everyone else had left.

Excellent coffee!!! Stayed for three after early morning drive from Whangarei!Carrot cake was fresh as! Friendly barista! We came here for a pub quiz on a Thursday night. It's a tiny place but it's got a cozy and warm feeling. There's an outdoor area in the back as well. There is not a lot of food, but it is inventive, especially the Fries around the World. The quiz itself is alright but there's no TV screen for the questions so it makes a different experience (some people might like that). The staff was really friendly and helpful.

Epic Beer is a taproom located by the Gull on Neilsen Street in Onehunga, with plenty of parking and an arcade section. It offers a welcoming atmosphere for various visitors, including workers, families, and even dogs. The reviewer was impressed by the new IPA called Snakes and considered it to be the best beer experienced in New Zealand.
Absolutely love coming here, grabbing a pizza and playing some pinball! Epic hosts a huge variety of modern pinball machines, all in great working condition. There is also a Big Buck Hunter and a Daytona, if pinball isn’t quite your thing! The pizza is absolutely top notch, and their gluten free bases are the best available in Auckland. They also offer dairy free/vegan cheese which is the nicest, meltiest vegan cheese I’ve had. I cannot recommend the sausage party pizza enough! Sooo many drink options, too, and not just beer! The beer is definitely great, but their selection of gin, bourbon, and other spirits is also fantastic. Plenty of seating, indoor and outdoor. Good vibes with the big neon cowboy. Will definitely be back for more pinball and pizza fun!
Danielle P — Google review
The staff were amazing and the venue itself was cool, but unfortunately the food and drink were disappointing. The $30 pizza tasted like it was made with budget ingredients—comparable to something you'd find at Pak'nSave. I'm definitely spoiled when it comes to quality, but if I'm spending $60 on two pizzas, I'd expect at least one of them to be decent. Sadly, both tasted cheap, as if everything was made with the lowest-grade products. Quality is always noticeable, and even the beer missed the mark—it was far from enjoyable. For comparison, the beer at Good George Brewery is miles ahead. It's disheartening to see how often New Zealand misses the mark on basics like this. In countries like Germany or Belgium, beer gardens and halls pride themselves on delivering exceptional beer. Here, it felt more like drinking dog piss. To be blunt, I’ve had better frozen pizza from the supermarket. It's disappointing, but if more Kiwis had experienced truly great beer or authentic Italian pizza, they'd realise just how subpar this offering really is. I had a great time but I'll never return unfortunately but I do recommend it if you got nothing else to do in that area.
Kieran K — Google review
Ever since I drank Armageddon and Hop Zombie for the first time nearly 10 years ago I knew I would not be able to go to Auckland without stopping by Epic. Finally got here and it was definitely an interesting experience. Taphouse itself had a very clandestine/underground feel to it… if you didn’t know where it was you would probably not stumble across it and I loved that. Was happy to finally drink all their beers on tap but sadly… I don’t know if something was going on with the fridge but the beers were not ice cold, not as cold as I like my IPAs to be anyway. Other than that had a wonderful night and will definitely be back.

The best brewery in Auckland. Bit of an effort to get there. Using public transport get off at The Papapa and walk through an industrial area for 10 minutes. Once there enjoy the great beers on tap from pale ales to some pretty special IPA's at reasonable prices. And do not forget the pizzas! Very large and very tasty. Dog and kid friendly so well worth whiling away an afternoon here. Recommended.

Best place to chill out before a gig or if in the area in general. It's in this really cool old aircraft hangar and has some original arcade games too. Good vibes, good beer and great pizza. Just one of those rare Epic places! 😎
Frederic S — Google review
Hands freakin' down THE best beer I had in NZ. I love a good beer. I love a taproom. I tried quite a many during my 2 weeks in NZ and I was disappointed time and time again to the point where I decided just to drink wine so I would stop the endless cycle of believing NZ beer just wasn't the business. Hours before takeoff on our last day, we stop in here. Long story short, this is some next level, grade A stuff! The owner, Luke, is a chill, funny dude with good stories about how he's come to have a cockpit of a plane in his bar to how he's come around to becoming a three-time winner of the Supreme Champion Beer of New Zealand. They have a good variety EXCELLENT pizza, cold to-go cans, and a couple handfuls of coin-op games. Family friendly here! I am sad that we only found this place so last minute, but my oh my, what a highlight of my trip! (Oh, and if you think you're in the wrong place as you're surrounded by industrial buildings on the drive in, you've found the right spot.)
Savannah R — Google review
Late review from a visit last Friday (23rd June). It's been way too long since I was last here. I arrived around 3, just before the after work crowd started rolling in. Was made welcome by Luke, Wendy and Paddy (and the rest of the team) and quickly got into the new IPA (Snakes) that was on tap. Numbers steadily increased and included workers from the area, families, people celebrating a birthday, people collecting riggers to take home and a few dogs. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, the music is solid and not too loud. The beer is outstanding. I sampled a few more taps through the evening and a couple of cans from the well stocked fridge, before ordering a pizza. My "Epic Loves Bacon" pizza arrived and I ate the whole thing by myself. Easily the best pizza I've had. Fresh ingredients and a great thin base. I finished the night with the latest release (tap room only) of the excellent Captain Springs Imperial stout and then grabbed some take out to take home with me. Meet some new people, caught up with some old friends and had a great time. I'd been to about a dozen bars and venues in Auckland over the past couple of days, some of them I rate really highly. The Epic taproom was easily my favorite. If I lived in Auckland, I'd make this place my local. In lieu of that I should get here more often and if you are reading this I recommend you check it out.

The reviews were generally good, but I was a little worried because there were some bad reviews. I went without making a reservation and there were four teams in front. But it was within 10 minutes. The staff was very pleasant and friendly, and we ordered a grilled green mussel, 500g steak, and kids fish and chips. The steak was cooked very deliciously medium and the green mussel was also delicious. The kids loved fish and chips. And I had a craft beer, New Zealand ale, and it was a fantastic combination. I highly recommend this place.
Jongchan K — Google review
Dropped by on a Tuesday and was pleasantly surprised by their steak special with eat value and cooked just right. The mussels were fresh and nice, definitely a highlight. It is a lively spot, but I managed to get a table straight away with no wait, which was a bonus. Staff were friendly and attentive.

**Foreign Object Found in Food** I was really looking forward to my meal at The Occidental, but I was shocked to find a piece of foil—like the kind used on bottle seals—inside my food. I showed it to the staff right away, and they admitted it was a mistake from the kitchen. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a photo, but I was given a $5 discount on my $35 bill. Honestly, that felt like such a small compensation for how unsafe and disappointing the experience was. It definitely made me question their hygiene and whether I’d want to eat there again. I hope they take this seriously and make improvements, because no one should have to deal with something like this.
Yungyeong C — Google review
The Occidental is a fantastic pub. All of the food was delicious but this is especially true for the steamed green-lipped mussels. The location is great, right off of Queens Street, and the pub has lots of indoor seating plus some nice outdoor seating. This was among the favorite food locations my group visited during our time in Auckland. I'd highly recommend giving it a try.

Went here around 4pm for my last meal while traveling thru New Zealand. The Venison Pie was great — so flavorful with cinnamon. I ate every bite. Had two beers as well. Servers were attentive and friendly. The place was not very busy on a Wednesday at 4pm but started getting busier around 5. I would come back here if ever in Auckland again.

I wanted to love The Occidental and was looking forward to their pot of mussels. We were seated quickly and our server was great. We took his advice and ordered a half of the lobster bisque, his favorite, and an additional white white and garlic...the lobster bisque was best! That said, all the mussels were fisher and drier then I would've liked. Still a great pub and I'd go back.

Do not recommend. Service was extremely slow! We were a large group of 10. 20min wait time between each drink order, we ended up just ordering a drink each time we received one due to the wait. We ordered food and what do you know triple the wait time. The table started to panic when we saw she was going to attempt the memory game of all our orders, but she whipped out the notepad after two people started ordering. Two other tables came after us to the restaurant a table of two and a table of six both tables of which were served their food long before ours. Forget about the food we were still waiting for the drinks. The waitress seemed a bit out of place going up and down the stairs a few times for no good reason, wondering around the outside bar trying to look busy with no drinks in hand, even the standard coke order was taking too long. Just frustrating. We then asked what's the hold up on the drinks, and were advised there's a function on. What? A function of five people? From what I could see we were the largest group there who also booked. Felt like a sorry excuse. A second waitress then took over but too little too late. The food arrived many years later, on a positive note it was delicious. However, a forgotten dish left a sour remark. Looks like the notepad didnt help in the end. We spent a good dollar, more than anyone else would have spent that night but I didn't realise we were paying for the waiting game like you're at the A&E. Anyways good music, but bad vibes.

Georgia was an absolutely incredible host, we loved her so much. Bottomless was a great experience with her and we reccomend you book your experience with her. She made us feel welcome and was very hospitable. Thanks to all the other staff who helped out too! We loved bottomless brunch here! 🫶

Georgia was our waitress whilst we dined here with all our children. Has made our kids end of season trip just that bit easier. A large group from the bay of plenty from Tepuna Junior Rugby. Georgia went above her role of not only ensuring all our meals arrived on time but also ensured our children didnt roam while us adults ate our dinner. Would definitely come back, good staff are hard to come by and it is clear Georgia is a huge asset to this establishment.

The Garden Shed at Te Motu offers a delightful dining experience with a focus on locally sourced, sun-soaked flavors. The menu features marinated olives, oysters from the nearby bay, raw fish in soy cream, and other delectable dishes. The restaurant provides multiple outdoor seating areas where guests can enjoy their meals throughout the year while ensuring that their furry friends are also well taken care of with water bowls and sheltered spots.
We held our wedding at The Garden Shed and couldn't be happier with our experience. The venue was absolutely stunning—perfect for photos—with a magical atmosphere and exceptional food. Khem and his team were fantastic, always ready to help and incredibly attentive throughout the night. Nixon was a true pleasure to work with, ensuring every detail was handled flawlessly. We highly recommend The Garden Shed for any special occasion.

We had a great time there, the food was delicious, and the service was fast and efficient. The inside was well decorated, bonus points for the restroom. If I had to be picky, I'd say that the noise level could be somewhat high during peak hours, but otherwise our dinner was really enjoyable. Thank you

We had our wedding ceremony and reception here and everything was fascinating, enchanting, and perfect! We booked the courtyard and upper deck area exclusively. Nixon, Khem, & Dixu were very accommodating and patient with all my queries and were able to grant all our requests and concerns especially the table layout during the reception time. They were all easy to talk with. Nixon was also intentional with us especially on making sure everything will be perfect on the day of the wedding. We were so amazed how they transformed the venue from ceremony set-up to reception set-up too! We, including all the guests, loved the food, the service, and the ambience. Wouldn't have any other place to celebrate our union than here! Thank you for making our day meaningful, intimate, and special. :)

Today we celebrated 4 Birthday and one big OE trip for my grandson! We Were all blown away by the decor and ambiance! We were graciously welcomed by freindly staff and seated at a suitable table. Drinks ordered and delivered, then orders taken then once prepared served to table. Nice and hot and presented nicely! Absolutely delicious! I would wholeheartedly recommend “ THE GARDEN SHED” as a place to my discerning diners who want a total experience! Arthur C. Charlton west Auckland NZ

We held our wedding at The Garden Shed in September, entertaining family and friends. We were really delighted with how things went, the staff and management interpreted really well what we had planned and supported the evening perfectly. Thank you to all at the Garden Shed, we very much valued your good work and professionalism. The food was excellent and we were delighted.

Wife and I came for dinner and were not disappointed. Beautiful place, atmosphere, food was exceptional. Calvin our waiter was friendly and welcoming, excellent service and a bit of a joker! We'll be back!

This place is a little slice of heaven in the heart of Mt. Eden — so tranquil, with stunning surroundings to enjoy. We had a wonderful lunch in a beautifully set-up space. Everything felt peaceful and serene, with welcoming staff and a truly gorgeous setting. And the food? Absolutely amazing. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen is a lively establishment in the heart of Auckland, offering ample outdoor seating and housemade beers alongside an eclectic comfort food menu. The venue, operated by Joylab, features a supercharged pub atmosphere with top-end pub dining. In addition to their bar menu, they offer a variety of frozen margaritas for patrons to enjoy. With live music and standing gigs accommodating over 100 people, visitors can groove to DJ sets or discover new favorite bands.
Great place and there are enough seats for many people. Food: Great generally with good presentation. Fries are a little disappointing. Service: Friendly staff and well prepared for the guest. Important things were well informed. Environment: Great indoor and outdoor option.

We booked out Sweatshop for our wedding reception & it was everything we dreamed of! Perfect location with a great view of the Sky Tower. The food was amazing and everyone raved about it. The atmosphere was 10/10 and the support from the team at Sweatshop was unbeatable. Thanks for being part of our perfect night.
Morgan M — Google review
Quite a lacklustre experience, to be honest. Even with a First Table booking, I’m not sure it was worth it—might take a while before I consider coming back. I came in feeling hopeful, but like a few other reviews have mentioned, something just felt a bit off. The staff were genuinely friendly, which I appreciated, but service-wise, things weren’t quite on point. We were told someone would be over in a few minutes, but several other tables were served before we even had the chance to place a food or drink order. We weren’t in a rush, so it wasn’t a huge deal, but honestly, I’ve had quicker service at Macca’s. When someone finally came by—about 15 minutes later—they were apologetic, which was polite, but considering the place was pretty quiet (even for a Friday night), I expected a bit more prompt attention. Was the food worth the wait? Sadly not. The fish and chips arrived cold, the batter was stale, and the fish itself was dry and overcooked. The fried chicken had similar issues—overdone, tough batter, and barely any seasoning, while being quite tough to chew. The only saving grace was the garlic loaf, which was hot and flavourful. Maybe we needed a few more drinks to lift the mood? I get that this venue leans more towards a social vibe, which is great, but I still expect the food to be at least half-decent at any venue. Overall, a bit disappointing. Maybe I’ll come back at some point, as it seems like a promising venue – perhaps it was just an off night?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an amazing experience here last Saturday 9th Aug! Service was fantastic – Laura and Jack were great, and a special shout-out to Nikita at the bar who was incredibly friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make our night enjoyable. The food was delicious, served all at the same time, and even with some last-minute changes, the kitchen delivered perfectly. Highly recommend this place for great service, great food, and a welcoming atmosphere!

Furst table booking, ordered 12 Sliders and 4 sodas. Awesome experience, music, and vibe. Particularly good service from Dilly and Lifa. Exceptional helpfulness.
Carlo F — Google review
Went to the bottomless brunch on 13/09/25. The food and drinks were amazing, and the male staff member who served us was lovely. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by the two female staff members who often ignored us, rolled their eyes at requests, and clearly didn’t want to serve our table. Although it was advertised as a 2-hour brunch, the food was brought out so quickly that everything arrived within the first hour, which made the whole experience feel rushed. They also wouldn’t clear our table to make room for new dishes, so we ended up taking our empty plates to the bar ourselves. It’s a shame, because the food was excellent, but the poor service really spoiled our night.

I was so excited to return here for your onion rings, which used to be the best, honestly. But you’ve changed how you make them, and they taste awful now. I’m leaving my entire order and walking out

Even though I walked in a few minutes before the store was actually open, Jake quickly greeted me, gave me menus and water. He explained the beers that were available and made recommendations. Both of his recommendations (Sweat Shop Lager and the Tuatara Optical Hazy) were great! I am sad that I will probably never have that lager again, and that I never had a chance to taste their full range of beers. Next time I will stay for something to eat and try more of the beers. Maybe things change and when I visit the brewery is up and running again! :) Jake went above and beyond to find me a sticker for my beer fridge. Thank you Jake and to the brewer!

Great stores ! Loved to wonder amongst the stores and love love their h&m stores there which had way better clothing options than any other h&m ive been too. Food court was great too as it had a good mix of ethnic food options. Def will return

Commercial Bay is such a vibrant and modern spot in the heart of Auckland. I love the variety of shops here – from international brands to unique local boutiques. The Harbour Eats food court is fantastic, offering so many different cuisines at reasonable prices. The design of the space is bright and inviting, making it a great place to shop, eat, or just hang out. Definitely one of my favorite places in the city.

Very nice shipping center. Lots of clothing stores. Everything is very cozy and it's very pleasant to stroll around. There are many cafés and restaurants.

Pleasant for a stroll. Retail options attract lots of people. Clean amenities. Great location - photos of views coming out from the place with water to one side and the old Customs House to the other side.

It's really disgusting. I saw the service staff here take off her shoes in front of the guests and then pick at her own feet with her hands. Can no one stop her behavior? The sanitary conditions are worrying.👎😱

A great ‘go-to’ for when you have a couple or group that isn’t sure what they want to eat or has very different tastes. A nice environment with great variation in cuisine upstairs and light shopping downstairs. Nice little hidden gems and cool spot to hang out and have a cold one.
