Nature & Parks
Inwood Hill Park, located in northern Manhattan, is a historical and hilly green space with a long riverfront and NYC's last natural forest. The park features rocky outcroppings left behind by glaciers and used by the Lenape tribe. It's also home to various bird species, including bald eagles released as part of a conservation project.
This is a great park to walk around and hike. The park is clean and empty; the trails are also well kept. There are lots of scenic views of the Hudson River and New Jersey in the distance. I recommend this park if you want to go hiking in New York City.
Crabby M — Google review
The recent reconstruction of the baseball field has resulted in a park that is now significantly more spacious, allowing ample room for everyone to enjoy and explore the area.
Gordon T — Google review
Miles of mostly-shaded walking trails are available. Several of them are uphill and challenging, so a great workout may be achieved. The setting is beautiful, and stunning views of the Hudson, Henry Hudson Bridge, Columbia rock, the Palisades and Riverdale are along the way.
Scott H — Google review
Beautiful space . Bring a blanket and find a spot. There are also lots of benches. It's close to the water so the views are stunning. There are porter potties. There is also a really nice playground - best for little kids up to about 10 I would say. There is a baseball field - but a large section of the park is undergoing renovations - hopefully they should be done by the time school lets out for the summer. On the other side there are tennis courts and another playground. They have events as well

Beautiful park at the bor tbh even top of Manhattan with multiple recreation fields and a top notch trail leading through bla beautiful forested cliffside area.

Great piece of nature that's a subway ride away and accessible without leaving the city. Went on a mushroom hunting walk and it was great!
New T — Google review
The only natural (and last) park of New York City. This is home, this is heaven!
Nathan K — Google review
A beautiful park to spend a relaxing day walking the trails or just admiring the views of nature and exploring the landscape of the park. Good to walk with someone else as the trails are very lonely. Cant wait until the fall to see all the beautiful trees changed their colors.

Alley Pond Park is a vast and diverse 635-acre park located in Queens, offering a wide range of activities for visitors. The park features playgrounds, hiking trails, basketball and handball courts, as well as an adventure course with a zip line that's sure to excite tweens. This free course includes team-building challenges like low- and high-ropes courses, climbing walls, trust-fall stations, swings, nets, balance platforms, and more.
I grew up near this park over 50 years ago. I’ve only been back a couple of times since then. While visiting friends we went there to take a walk. We mostly followed the outermost trails and walked 3.5 miles. Parking on a July Tuesday afternoon was easy with plenty of spaces but I could imagine it fills up on summer weekends. We tried to stay on the dirt trails as much as we could but also walked on some of the paved trails. We only had one short steep hill. The dirt trails are narrow for walking one behind the other. The paved trails are wide for three or four people to walk together. It’s a great park to visit and brings back memories of my childhood.
Bill L — Google review
I’m here almost everyday, no matter the weather, with my dog for her daily walks and play time. Alley Pond is very clean and friendly. The fields are always available, the trails are very friendly to folks of all levels. The trails also have several entrances/exits so you never have to feel like you have to commit to doing the full thing. There a parking lot, which makes it super convenient. For kids, they have rock climbing and handball courts, also a baseball field!
Saeed K — Google review

Greenbelt Conservancy Headquarters (High Rock Park) is a popular hiking destination on Staten Island, New York. It offers a variety of trails, including the Paulos Peak trail named after Thomas A. Paulo, the first Greenbelt Administrator. Spanning 2,800 acres, this conservation area features diverse habitats such as forests, wetlands, and grasslands. It provides an escape from city life and is a paradise for nature enthusiasts.
Beautiful trails... I come here to take in the beautiful nature and walk the trails, and relax & reset my brain from the daily stresses of life. When I'm here, I feel as though I'm not in the city at all. I enjoy taking nature photography here, looking at the lake, and finding different mushrooms is fun too!
Amanda C — Google review
Very nice park in the middle of Staten Island. Getting to Lake Ohrbach is difficult though, as the trails are not very well marked. You'd have to go behind the picnic tables and take the purple trail for a while.
Alvin H — Google review
Huge forest, lots of trails, parking lot, lake, hills, views. Camp grounds seem to be closed around summer time.

That is a refreshingly quiet place. Best time to visit is I guess Summer. You can also enjoy nice water streams in Spring

Favorite park on Staten island for hiking. Least favorite aspect is that most folks that are running don't think they need to wear masks and will run right next to you. Do they not know that runners need to give more clearance?

Nature & Parks
Prospect Park, Brooklyn's answer to Central Park, was designed by the same architects and boasts similar attractions. The park features lakes, boathouses, zoos, and a picturesque trail called the Ravine with its own waterfalls. Inspired by the Adirondack Mountain range in Upstate New York, this area of the park offers a serene escape within the city. Visitors can explore a 3.
Prospect Park is a true escape from the hustle and bustle of New York City, nestled right in the center of Brooklyn. Often overshadowed by its more famous counterpart, Central Park, Prospect Park offers a similarly stunning natural retreat—but with a fraction of the crowds. That’s what makes it so special. The park is immaculately clean, filled with expansive green spaces, shaded areas that offer a break from the summer heat, and beautifully maintained walking paths. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful solo walk, a family picnic, or a fun day with children, this park has something for everyone. There are several playgrounds scattered throughout the park, making it an ideal destination for families with young kids. One of the highlights is the Prospect Park Zoo, a charming, small zoo with a surprisingly wide variety of animals. Tickets are reasonably priced—around $11 for adults—and the experience is well worth it. Another favorite among children is the carousel, which brings old-school joy and nostalgia. A ride costs only $3, and the smiles on the children’s faces are priceless. What truly sets Prospect Park apart is its peaceful atmosphere. You won’t find the overwhelming crowds or endless streams of tourists here. Instead, you’ll find space to breathe, relax, and enjoy nature at your own pace. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, I highly recommend setting aside a few hours to explore this Brooklyn treasure. You’ll leave feeling refreshed, inspired, and maybe even a little more in love with New York City.

Came to see the movies in the Park, Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Weather was amazing! They give you these like lawn chairs but it’s on the ground, you can keep them, easy to carry. Free popcorn, seltzer water and T-Shirts. Very nice for the kids to run around while getting some fresh air. Sound was good to the speaker tower placement and no bad seats. Movie stared around 7:40, waiting for the sun to go down. Everyone was peaceful and cleaned up behind themselves after the movie was over. Did I mention, it was free? Can’t go wrong. Movie ended about 9:45 and walking back through the park, good lighting. No worries but again, I wasn’t alone. Good evening.
Debra C — Google review
Absolutely love prospect park! It’s so beautiful and large. It has many pleasant areas to sit and watch people and animals. It’s super peaceful and serene. Wonderful bike and hiking trails. A must for natives and tourists alike:)
Christine E — Google review
This park is very spacious, clean and perfect for walks or other family and friends activities or just looking to detach yourself from the busyness of city life. Its proximity to the train station and nearby cafes and restaurants make it attractive too. So if you’re visiting Brooklyn or looking for another alternative park other than Central Park, this is the place to be.
Francesandfrancis — Google review
Very nice escape located centrally in Brooklyn. Walking through it you can experience peaceful rural areas, or see Brooklyn’s diversity in the more crooked areas. It’s a bit dirty in spots, and difficult to keep up with cleaning due to the amount of people that visit the park. Great for a run, bike ride, or simply to relax at. The restrooms are very limited, and only the one on the large building is somewhat passable. The other one on the west side near the playground is less cared for, as is the other two in the center and East side.
Rollinover — Google review
A great place to enjoy nature and the outdoors, with expansive, beautifully landscaped green spaces and paths ideal for walking or cycling. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, making it an enjoyable experience for all ages.
Ammar H — Google review
I visited a couple of weeks ago, right as fall color peaked. I grabbed a coffee and wandered the winding paths in Brooklyn: leaves crunching under my shoes, trees shifting from gold to deep red, and that crisp, clean air. There’s room for everyone—you can stroll by the water, sit on a bench, and watch the foliage reflect on the surface. What I liked most is how the city noise fades into the background, leaving just the wind and a few quiet conversations. There are big open lawns for relaxing and tucked-away corners if you want solitude. I spent a few hours there and left clear-headed—a perfect spot to soak up autumn.
David S — Google review
I remember during covid this park as many parks in each Boro became such important places. From people who have roommates and needed a little space to excicise professionals and the once in while walkers and bikers in the park. It's really a great park . At some points in the park you can barely see the rest of Brooklyn and there are bird watchers of the variety of birds in the park. My wife and I would walk and talk or listen to music on our headphones. There are barbecues and birthday parties or sunbathing in the warmer months. From food bizarre yoga classes .the park peace officers and NYPD is a constant patrol.

Riverside Park, located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan along the Hudson River, spans over 400 acres and offers a variety of attractions. One of its highlights is the 91st Street Garden, which has been meticulously maintained by volunteers for over three decades.

From the breathtaking views of the river to the historic lighthouse that stands as a testament to the area's rich history, there is something here for everyone to enjoy. One of the highlights of the park is the scenic river view, which offers a serene and picturesque backdrop for picnics, hikes, and even just a leisurely stroll. Whether you're looking to take in the beauty of the water or simply enjoy the fresh air, the river view at Riverside State Park is not to be missed. And of course, no visit to the park would be complete without stopping by the iconic lighthouse. This historic structure has been a fixture of the area for generations, and offers a unique glimpse into the past. Whether you're interested in the history of the area or simply want to take in the stunning views from the top of the lighthouse, this is a must-see attraction. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is a destination that should not be missed. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and scenic escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Five stars!
Ashley B — Google review
We passed by on a sunny day when Central Park was overflowing with people. To our surprise, Riverside Park was much less crowded and had a better view of city. Due to the decline, we could view the cherry blossom trees along the highway from the top towards New Jersey
Andrew L — Google review
Riverside Park is one of the larger parks in NY. It has attractions for all kinds of people, and can yield beautiful views any time of year. There is a whole string of various sports fields, hills for children to play on (or even go sledding), trails all throughout, and even a restaurant (Ellington in the Park) overlooking the river and some volleyball courts. I would give it a full 5 stars if it weren't for the parkway running right next to and through the park. It can still be a beautiful, relaxing or energizing place though.
Garrett B — Google review
Riverside Park is one of my favorite places to walk. The views of the Hudson River are stunning, and the seasonal flowers make the park even more beautiful.
Annabella M — Google review
It is one out of many parks in NYC to watch the beauty of an amazing sunset. Once you are posted in a great location you'll be so happy to have been there. I've gone a few times and have even done a picnic.
Plo P — Google review
Riverside Park is an absolute gem, offering a perfect blend of tranquility and scenic beauty. From the moment you step in, you're enveloped by a sense of calm and relaxation. The park is remarkably quiet, providing an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. One of the standout features is the variety of spots to relax and unwind. Whether you're seeking a secluded bench to read a book, a lush patch of grass to lay out a picnic, or a scenic overlook to watch the sunset, Riverside Park has it all. The sunsets here are breathtaking, with vibrant colors reflecting off the river, creating a picturesque view that's hard to match. The park is also well-maintained, and you can see the care that goes into keeping the grounds clean and inviting. The pathways are perfect for a leisurely stroll, and there's plenty of open space for activities or just soaking in the peaceful ambiance. Overall, Riverside Park is a must-visit for anyone looking to relax and connect with nature. Whether you're a local or just passing through, it's the perfect spot to chill, unwind, and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. Highly recommended!

Fort Tryon Park, located in Upper Manhattan, is a 67-acre scenic oasis offering breathtaking views of the Hudson River and Palisades State Park. It is home to the Cloisters museum, a branch of the Met Museum showcasing medieval art and architecture. Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted Jr., this park boasts landscaped gardens with over 650 plant varieties and 8 miles of winding pathways.
Collections at the MET is wonderful. The museum sits away from the city. We were able to find parking on weekend next the museum. There were too crowded due to it remote location. There are plenty of court yard for you to relax and take your time inside of the museum. The audio guide was easy to follow. The unicorn exhibits is must see!!
Benjamin S — Google review
The walk to the top of the fort is nice.. a small hike but worth to be there… the view of Hudson River spanning wide as far as u can see is so cool and all through the park the stone bridges are example of amazing old architecture.. it’s worth to explore the fort and the met cloister museum is fun but $30 is much…
Torrence D — Google review
Fort Tryon Park is 70 acres and located in Washington Heights in upper Manhattan. The park was designed by the Olmsted brothers and opened in 1935. The battle of Fort Washington occurred on this site during the Revolutionary War in 1776. There are 8 miles of paved and dirt trails The views to the Hudson River are spectacular as are the views of the Harlem River and the George Washington Bridge. There are benches throughout this heavily wooded and very safe park. The beautiful gardens throughout the park include the Heather Garden. There are several rocky areas that were heavily striated by the last glacier, as well as, a large glacial pothole There are two playgrounds and clean restrooms. The park is seldom crowded and has become my favorite park in NYC. It can be reached by car, the A train or the M4 and other buses throughout the city.
Mike Z — Google review
Fort Tryon Park remains one of the city’s most beautiful outdoor pieces of art and one of the best presents ever received. John D. Rockefeller, Jr. began acquiring private parcels in 1917 as part of his vision of developing a beautiful park with majestic views of the Hudson River and Palisades for the public. He enlisted the Olmsted Brothers Firm, led by Frederick Law Olmsted Jr., son of the architect of Central Park and his brother to develop a plan for the park in 1927. The Olmsted Brothers designed the park and oversaw its construction between 1931 and 1935. Rockefeller gifted the land to the City of New York in 1931, and construction began soon after, overseen by the Olmsted Brothers firm for Mr. Rockefeller. In 1935, Rockefeller and Robert Moses dedicated the park to the public for use. Decades after its creation, park goers can run or walk on the park's 8 miles of pathways, play on the lawns, and enjoy the city's largest garden with unrestricted public access, the Heather Garden. Recently reinvigorated by public garden designers Lynden B. Miller and Ronda M. Brands, the garden boasts over 500 varieties of plants, trees, and shrubs providing year-round horticultural interest. Fort Tryon Park is also home to the Cloisters, a branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art that houses nearly 5,000 medieval works in a building comprised of several structures from Europe. Fort Tryon Park is home to Manhattan's largest dog run, complete with a gazebo for dog owners to sit and socialize, as well as two playgrounds, volleyball courts, and built-in ping pong tables. The pristine views of the Hudson River make the park the perfect setting for exploring, meandering strolls, and picnics. The Fort Tryon Park Trust is the non-profit partner that collaborates with NYC Parks on sustaining and revitalizing all 67 acres of this scenic landmark parks. The Fort Tryon Park Trust provides supplemental staff for the park's upkeep, provides over 250 free public programs in the park, and funds targeted park improvements.

ort Tryon Park is a 67-acre park in the Hudson Heights and Inwood neighborhoods of northern Manhattan, perched on a ridge overlooking the Hudson River. The park is known for its stunning views of the Hudson River and the New Jersey Palisades, beautiful gardens, and winding pathways. It was designed by the Olmsted Brothers and gifted to New York City by John D. Rockefeller Jr. in 1935. A gift from Rockefeller: Philanthropist John D. Rockefeller Jr., who grew up taking walks in the area, purchased the land in 1917 and hired the Olmsted Brothers landscape architecture firm to design it. To preserve the park's scenic river views, Rockefeller also purchased land on the New Jersey side of the Hudson, now part of the Palisades Interstate Park. Olmsted Brothers' vision: Frederick Law Olmsted Jr., the son of Central Park's co-designer, meticulously planned the park, including its wooded slopes, sloping lawns, and eight miles of pedestrian paths. The design masterfully incorporates the park's rugged, rocky topography into the landscape. Historic landmark: The park was officially designated a New York City scenic landmark in 1983 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Key attractions The Met Cloisters: The most famous feature of the park is The Met Cloisters, a branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art dedicated to medieval European art and architecture. The museum incorporates elements from several European monasteries and showcases artifacts like the famous Unicorn Tapestries. Heather Garden: Built on a terraced slope with American elm trees, the Heather Garden is a three-acre horticultural gem with over 650 varieties of plants. Its low-growing heathers were chosen to preserve the magnificent river views. Billings Arcade: Remnants of the estate of industrialist C.K.G. Billings are incorporated into the park, most notably the majestic, granite Billings Arcade with its five arches. Linden Terrace: Located on one of Manhattan's highest natural points, this terrace offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Hudson River and the Palisades. Margaret Corbin Circle: The park's southern entrance is named for Margaret Corbin, a Revolutionary War hero who fought at the Battle of Fort Washington, which occurred near the park's site. Activities and events Outdoor recreation: Visitors can enjoy strolling along the paths, picnicking on the lawns, using the playgrounds and dog run, and taking advantage of the free outdoor fitness programs. Annual events: The park hosts a number of popular annual events, including a medieval festival in September, a commemoration of the Battle of Fort Washington in November, and the "Shearing of the Heather" in April. Wildlife: Fort Tryon is also a haven for urban wildlife, including various bird species, possums, and raccoons.

Possibly the most geographically impressive park in the city. There’s 260ft of elevation at the high points, offering jaw dropping views of the Hudson River and Palisades. Trails are both dirt or paved and forested, with some of the coolest plants and trees, 50 foot boulders, and a free botanic garden. It feels safe. It’s gorgeous any season. There are so many hidden gems here and it is never crowded. Feels like Upstate NY, but right off the subway

Even there's a lot more left to explore but the park itself is a great hike & from the top the views are to climb for :)

Pelham Bay Park is the largest public park in New York City, covering a vast 2,772 acres and offering a wide range of activities. It features riding trails, golf courses, and the popular Orchard Beach on Long Island Sound. The park is home to Pelham Bay and Split Rock Golf Courses, which make up the city's only 36-hole golf facility.
If you thought Central Park was big, you need to come to this park immediately. With a large track and field area that puts Soundview Park's to shame, easy accessibility from the 6 train, free parking, a bunch of pathways to walk along and enjoy the sights (especially now that it's Autumn), a few nice statues to look at, a big playground, a number of different sports courts, and a bunch of areas to sit down and have a barbecue with your family and friends. Great views of the water and city skyline as well, especially a bit closer to nighttime. You can't even see all of the park in one day unless you wanna challenge yourself. Not only that, I felt very safe during my walk through the park, and others that I've encountered have been quite friendly. 10/10 park and highly recommend it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Perfect Family Day at Pelham Bay Park! We had such a beautiful day at Pelham Bay Park with the whole family! It’s truly a hidden gem in New York City — peaceful, spacious, and full of natural beauty. From wide open green spaces to scenic walking trails and picnic spots, the park offered something for everyone. The kids had a blast running around, and we enjoyed a relaxing stroll while soaking in the fresh air and calm atmosphere. It was the perfect place to unwind and spend quality time together. Whether you’re planning a quiet afternoon, a family picnic, or just want to escape the city noise for a while, Pelham Bay Park is a fantastic choice. Can’t wait to come back!

I love this park. I have one closer to me but it’s so congested with the influx of illegal immigrants in the area I can’t enjoy it anymore. But coming to this park is refreshing to walk around without crowds of people and volleyball nets everywhere. There are baseball fields, playgrounds, a newly renovated track and field with a outdoor workout area and plenty of walking paths. There is a good-sized parking lot at the rear of the park and it even has an ev charging area for electric or hybrid cars. My dogs love the openness of being able to freely walk, run and play and I genuinely enjoy coming here and walking along seeing other families enjoying the space too.

Orchard Beach parking lot is a good starting point for Hunter Island and Two Trees Island trails (they were actual islands before Robert Moses’ transformation have created Orchard Beach). These are most picturesque and well-maintained ones, especially good to stroll in fall season. Another good trailhead is at Bartow-Pell mansion with nice views of the lagoon. I’ve also hiked marked trail from Orchard beach to City Island bridge and then crossing the Meadow back to the beach, this one is somewhat overgrown. Good place to spend few hours of weekend hiking.

The best destination for seafood and fun in the sun without boardwalks and vendors and rides and noise. Lots of parking, police everywhere. No swim zones are constantly patrolled by the authorities. Perfect for summer fun!!!
Carla F — Google review
A huge park, probably the biggest in the city. Everything from two golf courses, driving range, beach, hiking trails, horseback riding, and across a small bridge to the seafood restaurants of City Island.

Pelham Bay Park is NYC's largest park (three times the size of Central Park!), and offers extensive outdoor activities including hiking, golf, tennis, kayaking, and horseback riding. It's home to the famous Orchard Beach, known as the "Bronx Riviera." History buffs can explore the Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum and Split Rock, the Revolutionary War landmark. You can also explore the trails and salt marshes of Hunter and Twin Islands. Overall, one of the best spots in NYC for getting outdoors.

Pelham Bay Park is a beautiful and peaceful place to relax, walk, or spend time with family. 🌳✨ It’s spacious, clean, and has plenty of trails and areas to explore. The playgrounds are nice for kids, and it’s very dog-friendly, so it’s perfect if you want to bring your pup along. 🐕 It’s a great spot to enjoy nature right in the city — whether you’re going for a picnic, exercise, or just some fresh air. I love it here in winter! We saw snow geese today. I bring most of my guests here; the views of Manhattan are lovely. Nice 1.7 mi walk around the west lake. Terrific sunsets. No bugs in winter.

Lovely place, warning it's absolutely scorching hot these days so please bring some water if you're gonna walk around! You can go all the way around the lake in around 30-35 minutes ish in the normal walk, and get to see tons of fantastic birds. Some of them hanging in groups on trees, or by the lake. It is well preserved as well. However you will likely only see birds by the lake and not for most of the path, so beware of that!
Olivia H — Google review
We have been coming here for many years! It is very maintained. Once you're inside, you don't even feel as if you're in Queens. The wildlife a views are majestic! Also it's a nice long walk, if you decide to go all the way around. I try to go when the sun is strong, it deters the mosquitoes. If not bring some repellent. It's a wonderful place! Don't miss it!

Visited the West Pond trail at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge and had a great walk. The entire trail is wide and topped with gravel, which made for comfortable, easy walking with no muddy spots. The path loops around beautiful pond views, offers plenty of birdwatching opportunities, and is accessible for most visitors. The gravel surface is perfect for a relaxed stroll or photography walk. Highly recommend this trail if you want a scenic, well maintained nature escape!

Don't go here for noise. In fact, don't go here at all. It's too beautiful, and I want it all to myself. Just me, the birds, and some blackberries. Im telling you, it's Horrible.
Felix B — Google review
Very nice hike through a gorgeous slice of wilderness located close to the city. When I went, it was raining and there weren't any other people around. We hiked not only the given trail but a little further out as we didn't realize we were deviating that much from it. The trail itself is very easy and not long at all. It will take you over a small natural bridge in between the bay and the ocean which makes for great winds, both of the summer breeze kind and the typhoon kind. After all that, a simple 10 minute bus ride to the nearby town to enjoy fresh sandwiches from the deli or good pizza is a must. There are multiple picnic areas available throughout.

The park's pool area includes both a 50-meter main pool and a 30-meter wading pool for children, enclosed by a small brick wall to provide privacy.

A beautiful park with a lot of ongoing restoration projects, such as American chestnut restoration project. The park is operated by The New York Resoration Project, an NGO that inspires privetly owned foundations to invest in this type of project. This park, along with Inwood Hill Park, is one of the last wetland sanctuaries in NYC. Our city has already lost approx 70% of wetlands.

There are two different parts of this park. Both are so lovely and I grew up with going to them. Be aware of a few bums, but that’s completely normal in NY. Also, be aware of snakes. Don’t think they’re harmful and they’re also very small. I’ve only seen them once (today). Its in the park that is mostly just a trail, no playground.
Yusleidy B — Google review
Like nobody knows about this place! if you want a spot to be alone this is def it. This park is mostly ( the path i use anyway) forest) so it hides a lot of direct sunlight. The are a number of paths and some are very remote and one may not see anyone for 10-20 minutes. There is an area underneath the washington bridge that has grafitti which is very quiet. If you were on america’s most wanted and you were in nyc this would be the place to hide!

I always enjoy visiting and walking, biking or running down the paths of this enormous linear park. Being engulfed in nature is relaxing and worth a visit. Nice place to walk over even on a rainy day. The view is not scenic more industrial views if you like that kind of stuff. Interesting history associated with the bridge. I wish they would beautify both sides more to make it more a destination from both sides. Easy to get to via subway. I recommend this nice walk over!

Blue Heron Park, situated in the peaceful Annadale neighborhood, offers a multitude of secluded walking trails. These trails cover a distance of approximately 3 miles and provide an opportunity to admire charming ponds teeming with ducks. Additionally, there are expansive wetlands behind the admin building along the orange trail, offering tranquility despite being damp. The park is ideal for taking leisurely strolls and is rarely crowded around 3pm.
Found this park in Staten Island, only went through part of the park but it's clean, several trails, saw different species of birds, everyone that I meet usually say hello. One problem is there isn't any sign telling you where the park is.

Excellent walking trails tucked away in the Annadale neighborhood. Did a majority of the trails available with my partner and it amounted to 3 miles or so. Nice ponds and ducks to see. Also some vast open space, albeit wet, behind admin building on orange trail. Great peace and quiet.

Great trails. Be prepared for mud, but it is fun!! Saw 11 deer including many tagged bucks. Enjoy the pond on the orange trail. Be patient...big Tom, the turtle might just greet you and you might see the little blue heron catching fish. I loved the more woodsy yellow and blue trails especially. Warning: ticks are active. Shower when you get home.

Nice park to take a walk, visited few times and not ones have I've seen anyone walking on any trails around 3pm. I would recommend using bug spray, decent amount of mosquitoes around. While there we have encountered rabbits, frogs, different types of birds and of course squirrels.

An excellent example of natural beauty on Staten Island and NYC, places like this are worth conserving, unfortunately littering is a massive issue as the roads that segment the park are immediate areas where drivers discard their trash, which then migrates further into the wooded areas and bodies of water.

My favorite park in Queens, New York. There's a beautiful lake with so much life (swans, turtles. Ducks Frogs. Etc). There's different trails. There's a few playgrounds throughout the park. Public bathrooms are available. Many seating areas throughout 🦋I love seeing my butterflies here - thanks to this incredible organization that planted a pollinator garden and takes care of the place. (Park rangers need to learn and become better). 🦋I love seeing Hawks here... there's a few 🦋I've seen a fox here once - hiking trails available -A lot of cultural activities happen here. - great to celebrate - tennis courts - Baseball fields ⚠️the park needs to work on the lantern fly situation. I am very upset to see a lot of my favorite trees affected by them and put down. ⚠️also, there are a few people who are mean to the wildlife. And many people feed them and / or throw things at them. ... you shouldn't go to a park to mistreat nature... Overall, I highly recommend. My childhood growing up park that I visit all the time .

Top notch, very clean facilities and knowledgeable staff. That really does a good job. This is a template for all New York State in New York City. Parks should aspire to be just like this one. This is the standard you could thank Mr. Walker Park Supervisor for NYC parks Manhattan for his passionate and driven attitude towards making the public safer and accessible for everyone, Remember everyone keep your dogs on leashes even after dusk this location doesn’t allow dogs off leash at any time of the day although there’s a dog park nearby just Google Maps. Kissena Park is a 235-acre (95 ha) park located in the neighborhood of Flushing in Queens, New York City. It is located along the subterranean Kissena Creek, which flows into the Flushing River.[1] It is bordered on the west by Kissena Boulevard; on the north by Rose, Oak, Underhill, and Lithonia Avenues; on the east by Fresh Meadow Lane; and on the south by Booth Memorial Avenue. The park contains the city's only remaining velodrome, a lake of the same name, two war memorials, and various playgrounds and sports fields. The site of Kissena Park was originally part of a tree nursery operated by Samuel Parsons in the late 19th century, though parts of the park were also the site of a Long Island Rail Road line. The lake on Parsons's property was named "Kissena", which comes from the Chippewa language meaning "it is cold", "cold place", or "cool water", and the park was later named after the lake. After Parsons died in 1906, part of his former nursery was incorporated in the modern-day park. The name "Kissena Park" can also refer to a residential section of Flushing just north of the park. Kissena Park opened in 1910, and it was incorporated into Kissena Corridor Park in the mid-1950s. Various improvement projects have been conducted during Kissena Park's history, including the addition of the velodrome in 1962 and restorations of the lake in 1942 and 1983. Subsequently, the Kissena Velodrome was restored and rededicated in 2004, and a Korean War memorial was dedicated in 2007.

But it takes like 5-10 years from now so I am fully invested in the meantime with other things to keep myself busy because I work. When I work I play. When I play I work. Just do it. Our go-to park for walking our two big dogs from home in East Flatbush, just 15 minutes away. This park is really nice and perfect for BBQs, kids’ parties, or baby showers. It does get pretty crowded, especially on weekends, so if you’re more of an introvert, it might feel a bit overwhelming. Weekdays, on the other hand, are quieter and ideal for a peaceful walk or small outing I have a little one, and there are two separate playgrounds, though they’re a bit of a walk apart. One downside for me is the sprinkler area it’s pretty small and not the cleanest. But overall decent park.

Clove Lakes Park is a picturesque park located in Staten Island, offering a variety of outdoor activities for visitors. The park features lakes, ponds, and lush greenery, providing a serene environment for leisurely strolls or invigorating runs along its wide hiking trails. Families can enjoy modern recreational facilities such as playgrounds and an outdoor skating rink, while sports enthusiasts can make use of the baseball fields and basketball courts available on-site.
The grass is definitely greener over here!!!! This is a park I could fall asleep in n not be worried...u only hear ducks and geese and other birds...people might be on their walks or jogging but that's it..loved it ...there's no entrance fee or dress code....lots of shade under trees....walking paths lead out into backyards or even front yards so be careful....there's not really any water fountains nearby so you'll have to pack that stuff before hand (sunscreen too)(NEED DAT) .. public transport is available to it as well and last but not least I'm BLACK....didn't feel scared or paranoid seeing only white people in the woods😭 my husband and I were skeptic since it had minimal POC but they're actually more mannerable that any of the other boroughs...they said good morning and good afternoon n smiled so that was good for me lol GO FOR A WALK MY PEOPLE BRING A PICNIC BASKET

A month playground is closed 😡 The road is being slowly repaired, which is why everything is closed. The road is being slowly repaired, which is why everything is closed. It feels like no one is working. Be careful! Terrible roads in the park, especially the descent from Royal oak road to clove park, a month ago I fell into a pit with my child. Fortunately, baby was not injured, otherwise they would have been suing the park for a very long time.

We dropped by for their trail alongside the river, but realized much of the area was unfortunately closed for renovation - I hope we can see more once that clears up. From what was open, it was a small rocky yet well maintained

This park is so vast, and the trails are well kept, easy to walk... but there are some challenging climbs. Just take your time because it is worth the views. Dog friendly, kid friendly, and bike friendly.

Fort Washington Park, located along the Hudson River, is a historical and picturesque destination in Manhattan. The park is home to the iconic Little Red Lighthouse, which was originally built in New Jersey in 1880 before being relocated to its current spot in 1921. This decommissioned lighthouse serves as a reminder of the city's past and offers stunning views of the Hudson River, Jersey Palisades, and the George Washington Bridge.
Is beautiful to walk to relax , to bike , play tennis , basketball ect ect , there's a lot to do here , I just wish that the have canoe and kayak near but other then that beautiful

This is a great Park but is a bit difficult to access. It requires a lot of walking! The views of the Hudson are lovely! Oh, and the “beach” is not much more than a small patch of sand and rocks - so much more can be done to create a beach feel in this actually great spot for it! I look forward to going back to check out the little red lighthouse!

📍 Fort Washington Park is located directly below the New York side of the George Washington Bridge. This double-decked suspension bridge connects the Washington Heights neighborhood in Upper Manhattan to Fort Lee, New Jersey. The bridge opened in 1931 and was, at the time, the longest main suspension bridge span in the world. The Trans-Manhattan Expressway runs directly above it, serving as a critical transportation artery. ★★★★★

Fort Washington Park is a 160-acre public park located in the Washington Heights section of Upper Manhattan, New York City. Stretching along the Hudson River from West 155th to Dyckman Street, the park is known for its dramatic riverfront cliffs, recreational facilities, and historic landmarks, including the iconic Little Red Lighthouse. The Little Red Lighthouse: Officially named Jeffrey's Hook Lighthouse, this landmark is situated on a small point of land under the George Washington Bridge. Built in 1880 and moved to its current location in 1921, the lighthouse was immortalized in the children's book The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge. George Washington Bridge Views: The park offers stunning views of the George Washington Bridge and the New Jersey Palisades across the Hudson River. The bridge's massive towers and the dramatic natural cliffs create a picturesque backdrop for visitors 🗼

It was Field Day for our students, and we had big fun. It was my first time visiting this park. It was in the late morning that we arrived, and the ground crew was busy trying to clean up the field. I hear it's very busy in this area in the late afternoon & evenings. It's a popular spot for the Dominicans to congregate and hang out with their peops. It's by the Hudson River, so there's a nice breeze passing through. It was a large open field to play outdoor games. We brought blankets and had lunch picnic style, which I really enjoyed, because it brought back fond memories of childhood with my church families 🥹. We ate our package lunch under a blackberry tree, like one big happy family. It was cool because parents & family members accompanied our classes. The weather was perfect and most of all, the children had the best time ever🏐🪁🎈🎉🧃🍒🍓🥪🥗

My favorite to go place which has lots of amazing views. It lies below the Washington bridge and on the side of beautiful Hudson river. There is lots of open space , playground, swings and other material for playing. This place is always crowded since most of the people go their for evening walk. Also this place is best for running and doing exercise. There is spot for family picnic as well. Absolutely a hidden gem on the bank of Hudson river.

Soundview Park is a 205-acre urban green space located at the mouth of the Bronx River, offering stunning views of Manhattan, Queens, and the East River. It features playgrounds, soccer and baseball fields, an amphitheater, and picnic areas. The park also boasts a 1.5-mile waterfront path leading to a newly-restored salt marsh aimed at revitalizing aquatic ecosystems and providing wildlife habitat.
By far the biggest park that I can get to in The Bronx without having to take a bus and/or a train to. Has some nice views and places to stop and relax, and it's a perfect park to walk or ride a bike through. It also feels like there's things to do almost everywhere in the park. I definitely consider coming here before it gets too cold.
JonPaul N — Google review
Soundview Park offers a serene escape with beautiful views of the Bronx River. You can find a quiet spot to relax on a bench or a large rock while enjoying the peaceful scenery. The park features a spacious open field known as the Soundview Park Amphitheater, perfect for spreading out and unwinding. For those who enjoy walking or biking, the paths wind through a tree-lined landscape with occasional peeks of the water. There are plenty of places to stop and rest, making it an ideal spot to de-stress. The park is often uncrowded, adding to its tranquil and relaxing atmosphere.
Milton J — Google review
I have visited only upper part of the park and did not see Sound views, however it is very clear that Bronx river waterfront could be exposed and utilized much better. Paved biking and walking path is tantalizingly close to the river but you can catch its glimpses only via unmarked short trails. Forested park part’s grass is not cut short enough although “The Bronx is blooming” organization is trying to improve it (I would advise to create marked trails for hiking). Otherwise, park is quite competitive with other city parks. There are athletic fields, dog run, playground and clean restrooms at the time of a visit on a weekday.
Mike Z — Google review
Great bikes paths through forested areas and on the edge of the sound. The parks department works hard to keep this park maintained and clean. Space for picnics and fishing. You can find Italian wall lizards , dozens of species of birds, snakes and rabbits. There is a playground, dog park, baseball fields, soccer field, track and outdoor workout area.

Beautiful park too walk, run, bike or play sports like baseball or basketball. There are unique Waterfront views all open to the public, take advantage of this local gem and Greenway. There are City Stage concerts in the summer and multiple entry points. There are a couple of restroom and water stations available including on weekends.

Beautiful park has been in the community for years. Unfortunately people come from outside the community and trash it. The ones who come and play on the field leave all their trash behind food , corona bottles ,alcohol bottles tents and boxes. Scattered all over the track. They set up tents on the track and obstruct joggers and runners from utilizing the track. It’s horrible they don’t care, it’s disgusting. I wish parks would enforce the policy

Historical landmark
Conference House Park is a picturesque waterfront park featuring historic buildings, expansive lawns, and versatile trails. The park holds significant historical importance as it was the site of a failed peace conference in 1776 between the British Crown and American colonists. Visitors can explore the 1680s stone manor house where the talks took place, now transformed into a museum showcasing period furnishings and exhibits related to its role in American history.
Beautiful views of Raritan Bay from trails of Conference Park. You can make different loops by combining beach trail with paved trails of the park. Ample parking near visitor center.

Conference House Park is an amazing place to go to relax and to visit some NYC/Staten Island history. The nature paths, the main park area, the deck that faces a beautiful view of New Jersey, and also the spot on beach area that is southernmost part of NY state, are all things that I highly recommend. Whether you're a Staten Island resident, from the other boroughs, or a tourist, I think you should definitely go!

Nice park on the south end of Staten Island. Historic Conference house surrounded by a park overlooking Raritan Bay. Great place for a walk or a bike ride with a nice view of the bay. Beautiful sunsets. Very clean and well maintained. Free parking.

Beautiful historic park and house with history that dates back to the American Revolution. Has plenty of space at picnic tables to enjoy a picnic lunch in front of the scenic house as well, with beautiful views overlooking the water. Recommend checking out the visitor center nearby to learn more about the history of the conference house!

I like going when there aren't people around. The last few times I went with my fiance, we were lucky. We only saw one or two people around far from us. We like to go to the beach and watch the sunset, and walk around and take pictures. It's so peaceful and beautiful. Sometimes we spot a family of deer. We stay out of their way so we won't scare them. I love that we can walk around and feel as if we're alone and in another time and place. Kids and adults alike can ride their bikes around the park. Very nice and serene.

Pugsley Creek Park is an 84-acre city park in the Bronx, offering a variety of natural landscapes including wetlands, marshes, and a mixed hardwood forest. The park features kayak and canoe launch sites, as well as a baseball field for sports enthusiasts. Birdwatchers have long been drawn to the area's natural beauty, with Pugsley Creek providing picturesque views along with sightings of diverse bird species.
Unlike Castle Hill Park, where it just feels like a trail along the countryside, this park truly makes you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. Thick trees and the sounds of nature really add to the ambiance. It has a much longer trail than the aforementioned park, and at one point, you can experience an even better view of Pugsley Creek (which is very appropriate, hence this park's name). There is also a fitness area and sports courts. But I do not recommend going through this park in the dark cause certain areas of the park are pitch black cause of the trees.
JonPaul N — Google review
Great little park with bike lanes, walking paths and places to sit. There is a basketball court and outdoor gym. Too many feral cats ! They disrupt the wildlife here . Bird lovers can see many shore birds and song birds. You will love to take a walk and see some wildlife right in the Bronx ! I went on a long walk with binoculars and saw 21 species of birds in one evening !
Stacey O — Google review
So, where is the park? I got a fence surrounding undeveloped woods, a couple of benches, yes a cool little gym, a "creek" that is eerily dried up and really dirty. Oh and I got mosquito bites. But no where green to go sit in the sun or even a path off the main perimeter. What went wrong here.

This is where they started up the ferry to Manhattan. We took a walk to see the new ferry stop and it's absolutely beautiful the sights. They have the schedule up for you to see and check which time would fit your schedule. People at the dock to help you on & off the ferry and a machine to purchase your tickets right there. Very convenient. If you want to take your bike it's only a dollar extra.

This park is beautiful and spacious. The grounds are kept clean, and they have clean bathrooms. The park has courts for baseball, basketball, tennis, handball and they also have a skatepark. There is a play area for kids and a splash pad that is on during warmer weather. It is far from the city but if you are looking to get a little ways out but atay close this would be a great spot. It's also next to a state park which has some pretty views.

I recently visited Bayswater Park in Far Rockaway and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is calm, with plenty of greenery and open space, and the fresh air from the bay makes the walk especially nice. It’s a good spot to take a peaceful stroll, sit on a bench, or just relax by the water. Unlike the busier parts of the city, the park feels cozy and quiet. People around were friendly, and the area looked well-kept. For me, it turned into a little retreat from the city rush.

Excellent venue for a track meet, both as an athlete and spectator. Meets are extremely well run and organized. Athletes are made aware of what they need to do or where to go and spectators can follow along with easy to hear announcements. Music is regularly played between or during races and races remain on schedule. The venue is operated by the NYC Parks, and sits a few hundred feet from the sound, which can be seen through the windows. Track is banked and surface is fresh and fast.

A very nice trail near South Beach with a picnic area, right next to the Ocean Breeze Atheltic Complex. Trail starts to the right of the Atheltic Complex, look for the picnic tables, and loops through thick trees. No elevation. Sandy and grassy grounds. Fair amount of wildlife to see. Ample parking in the covered parking lot or across the street at South Beach. The trails could be marked and maintained better. You sort of have to guess or know about the trail to use it, minimal signage pointing it out.

[Temporary Closure of upstairs Track] Track due to reopen first week of Nov.22 according to the staff. Staff is very polite & informative which is very rare for a municipal tax payer funded facility. The locker rooms were very clean, all items fully stocked. There are various rooms that have a specific set of equipment such as a mobilty, cardio, lifting etc. Ample parking & near the beach / boardwalk - highly recommend judging by the maintenance alone. My only concern is the fact the locker room doors are wide open for both genders. My opinion, it should be closed just for any privacy.

Spring Creek Park, located in New York, is a vast public park that extends along the Jamaica Bay shoreline, covering areas within Howard Beach, Queens, and Spring Creek, Brooklyn. It serves as a wildlife habitat and offers picturesque paths for activities such as bird-watching. The park comprises three main parts, including Spring Creek South managed by the National Park Service. While it provides limited areas for public recreation, visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of this undeveloped nature preserve.
Only for the nature lovers. Real trails with live animals running around. Fishing, boating and just pure fredom. My family enjoyed it and the kids had a great workout. Beautiful views right off the Belt Parkway.

There are some beautiful spots, but the park needs a lot of cleanup. Much of the supposed trail is so overgrown with weeds as to barely be recognizable as a trail, and the beach is covered with trash. Make sure to wear long pants if walking within the park, as you'll be surrounded by high grass and reeds. It's also very annoying to get over to/from Shirley Chisholm State Park, as there's only really one entrance to the Shore Parkway pedestrian and bike path in each park and they're at the furthest ends from each other.

Yup yup. Very religious place. Can see lots of Hindu god and goddess sun bathing on the beach. Most of them don't have head. Lots of fruit on the ground but no trees. Rooster without head. Be warned. Could be clean, otherwise nice place to hangout. Little creepy while entering.
Karma G — Google review
My happy place..finally a decent space for stretching the legs. Would've given it 4 stars but the workers keep patrolling to kick people out early. They close at 8pm and the sign says last entry at 7pm. Before you know it at 705pm they are driving around telling you to make your way out. For those of us who are working during this pandemic and can't get here earlier its very rude and inconvenient. I usually make sure I'm out of the park by 730 or 740 to allow them time to close up but this is just ridiculous. That aside they are friendly and its a beautiful space.
Yosh S — Google review
Even though Google maps said it was open, the park was closed. It was completely fenced off with “danger” signs. After walking around the park, there was no entrance to be seen. Very disappointing as it took over an hour to get to…

Nice park if your looking for a small park to take your kids to that doesn't have alot of kids this is the one very peaceful it also has a trail you can take to get a bigger park with alot more kids there. There is a lot of parking around the edges of the park even if they don't have a dedicated parking lot. The trails in this park are wide and paved. They have all the trails marked and mapped so you won't get lost on your stroll. It's a nice place to just unwind and take in some scenery. There are a couple of small playgrounds that are old and better suited to small kids. There is a small creek too if the little ones want to play in some mud. Let them explore and have fun. Well considering the park has a beautiful selection of foliage and medicinal plants like sassafras sweetgum and jewelweed for the poison ivy scattered around .the sad part is all the trash littered around and the only wildlife to see are the homeless people sleeping deep in the park i only recommend hikes in a day but other than that it could be a very beautiful place.

I recently joined the River Tubing & Brewery Day Trip (NYC) with Sourced Adventures and had an awesome time! It was a fun and unique way to spend the day outside the city. The experience was well-organized, and the team—Adam, Michael, and Maggie—were all super friendly, professional, and helpful throughout the trip. There were a few moments on the river where we drifted close to shore or got a bit stuck, but that’s just part of tubing and definitely not the company’s fault—it added to the adventure in a way! The tubing itself was relaxing and scenic, and the brewery stop after was a great way to wrap up the day with some good drinks and conversation. All in all, it was a memorable trip and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and low-key escape from the city. Had a great time, staff was so nice and friendly. Collin, Sylvia & John kept us all Very informed. We arrived around 1040am and left around 3pm. Plenty of time to roam the grounds. It was empty and then got crowded later in the afternoon so i recommend getting as much as possible done early as it is popular. I would def recommend and do this experience again

From start to finish, this Whitewater Rafting Day Trip was outstanding and Jo truly made it unforgettable. The day began with a smooth, 3-hour bus ride from NYC. The bus was clean, comfortable, and even had entertainment. We watched Ghostbusters 2! The food provided was surprisingly good too. A delicious turkey sandwich that made the whole experience feel even more well-organized and cared for. Once we arrived at the river, everything was ready: rafts, paddles, life vests, and a professional team of guides. As we got set up, Jo made sure everyone was ready with their gear, felt included, comfortable, and excited. Whether you were a first-timer or a seasoned rafter. I can’t recommend this trip enough, especially with Jo as your guide. She’s not only a professional and she’s the heart and soul of the day. Thank you, Jo, for making this such a special experience. I’ll definitely be back! Mazen El Husseini

Park
Fresh Creek Nature Preserve is a serene marshland in the city, offering picturesque trails and bird-watching opportunities. With over 325 species of birds visiting Jamaica Bay annually, along with butterflies and native salt marsh plants, it's a haven for nature enthusiasts and photographers. While not ideal for picnics or recreational activities, it's perfect for peaceful walks, jogging, yoga sessions, or simply immersing oneself in the beauty of nature.
It's an unexpected beauty. I happened upon it returning from Shirley Chisholm. I was going to have my birthday shoot there but couldn't because of closure. Driving back I slowed to a stop at this stunning place! 200% better than anything Shirley would have offered. What a beautiful place. No one recognized where the pictures were taken. It's a hidden gem, tucked away at the end of Louisiana Avenue.

Beautiful small sliver of nature around the Creek. Weaved into the community this preserve is perfect for bird watching, a great jog or walk, nature read or yoga

Great for bike riding or strolling. People picnic and play cricket in the summer there. It's pretty empty and peaceful most of the time. The park leads you to Shirley Chisholm State Park but you have to ride over some of the most neglected and bumpy roads in all of NYC to get to the State Park. There's a sewage plant near Fresh Creek, so oftentimes, it doesn't smell so "fresh"!😂

A wonderful place to unwind and find some peace in an area that you would not think of looking for. In the shadows of the Starret City Housing projects you will find some wonderfully beautiful and peaceful views as you walk along the trails you will find here. Enjoy a picnic with family and friends or just take a peaceful walk to relax and shake off some stress. Any time of the year you can find some amazing views along the trails where wildlife surrounding you at every turn. Go and see for yourself.! You won't regret it. Enjoy the peace

Limited parking due to social distancing but park is beautiful and not crowded
Athmane B — Google review
The space is highly under developed. There are things that makes it very sad. They have closed off areas with table and seating. It seems not much thought went to the architectural design of the space. They could do so much more for the first black women to run for President Shirley Chisholm. I wish there was better access to the water. What about restrooms out there? Do you have people out there for hours sometimes? They’re is so much potential, but it’s being wasted land. No pun intended.

Hoboken Riverside Park, situated along Sinatra Drive in Hoboken, NJ, offers stunning panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline and a serene waterfront location. It's a popular destination for both locals and visitors seeking a peaceful escape from the city. The park hosts various events like outdoor movie nights that create a vibrant atmosphere against the backdrop of the iconic skyline. While parking can be challenging, the refreshing ambiance and distant music from the boardwalk make it an ideal spot to unwind and take in the breathtaking scenery.
Wonderful view and place to have fresh air and enjoy the sun. It is super close to my compass so that’s a plus

This is one of the best parks for viewing Manhattan. You can see the Hudson and all the skyscrapers in downtown and mid-town. It’s good for seeing the city on a bright clear day, for a sunrise or sunset, or if you want to see the city lights at night.

**⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4-Star Review for Hoboken Riverside Park** Hoboken Riverside Park is an absolute gem — especially in the summer! The views are **simply fantastic**, with a stunning skyline that makes it one of the best spots to unwind, particularly during the evening hours when the breeze kicks in and the city lights start to sparkle. It's a great hangout spot, whether you're strolling, chilling with friends, or just people-watching. **Lots of great restaurants and bars nearby**, though many are a bit on the pricier side. Definitely a lively vibe all around. **Parking is the biggest downside** — it’s tough to find and mostly paid, so be prepared for a bit of a hunt if you’re driving in. Also, if you're planning to stay a while, **bring a chair or something to sit on**. Seating is limited and the grass fills up quickly. Overall, an amazing park with unbeatable views and a vibrant atmosphere — just pack some patience for parking and a seat to relax on! Restroom facilities could be better

This is probably one of the best parks you can go to to view the sunrise over Manhattan. The views are marvellous. Other than the runners early in the morning, it’s quite and a great place to enjoy your morning coffee.

The park features diverse habitats that are perfect for bird watching and offers sweeping vistas of Paerdegat Basin and the lower Manhattan skyline. The playground is suitable for young children, while the lawn tennis court is located behind it. Additionally, McGuire Fields boasts an extensive field with areas for walking dogs and playing baseball.
Plentiful parking around the fields complex. Variety of fields for different sports. Looks clean and maintained. There is a new playground with benches around. Trails to Paerdegat beach could be accessed from the Fields.

Playground is more appropriate for kids 5 and below with maybe just the swing for older kids. The McGuire field is an extensive field with areas to walk your dogs, some other baseball pitch etc. It’s got lots of potential and I can see myself coming back for some walk or picnic.

Sherman Creek is a truly enchanting place, especially in the tranquil early morning hours. It's a beautiful park that offers a peaceful setting for walks and family gatherings. However, there are concerns about potential development that could alter its current charm.
Don't let this park's unassuming location fool you. Nestled between the bustling Harlem River Drive and the actual Harlem River, it's a hidden gem that even Google Maps can't quite pinpoint. You enter the park at the intersection of Dykman Street and 10th Avenue. There, you will find a Citibike station if you want to ride, but I suggest visiting both Sherman Creek Park and the adjacent Smugglers Cove, so walk around a bit before you commit to riding a bike. Sherman Creek offers several small winding paths that will take you through manicured gardens to the river and open up to a tidal bridge extending over the Harlem River. If you are lucky, you will see one of the Great Egrets who likes to hang out in the marsh or one of the Red Tail Hawks who landed on the boat house during our visit. The extraordinary Spring treat is the Cherry and Apple Blossom trees that line the river walk. There are dozens of different kinds, and they don't all bloom simultaneously, so you can likely come back a second time to see other trees in bloom. The bike path continues south at least as far as Highbridge. We did not go the full length, but many bikers seem to be making their way through on a longer journey. The park is small, so one shouldn't plan on making a day of it, but Highbridge Park is right there, and Inwood Park is a short walk away, so if you were feeling adventurous, you could actually hit three city parks in one visit.

"The Outsiders" is a compelling story that follows Ponyboy Curtis, Johnny Cade, and their group of outsiders as they navigate the challenges of finding their place in the world. Set in Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on 242 W 45th St, this production delves into the struggle to bridge the gap between different social classes. Meanwhile, Outsiders barbershop offers top-notch haircuts and fades in a friendly and clean atmosphere.
Every time Joseph cuts my hair, it's the best haircut I've ever gotten. I've never been a "regular" customer with a consistent barber anywhere until I started going here, specifically to Joseph. Great conversation, great haircut. Highly recommend!
Reid F — Google review
I am done with this place. 50 dollars before tip, CASH ONLY, for a men’s haircut was very aggressive pricing in this neighborhood to begin with. I was putting up with it. But they have pushed it to $60 now. I complained to the owner I thought my haircut would be 50 like last time and he said we raised it to 60, and charged me that. By way of apology he explained that his landlord had raised the rent by $1000. Guess how much money per day it takes to produce an extra thousand dollars for a M-F business? Um, let’s see…oh, $33 per day. I think they have that covered every 20 minutes with three chairs working. Look, nothing wrong with their haircuts. They are good, actually. But they’re just men's haircuts. You can get the same thing for $30 at Astor Place in Manhattan and you’ll be sitting between a banker and an actor, not in some shameful, cheap place. Can't figure out what justifies the 60+ dollar haircut at Outsiders. The inside feels kind of dim and a little stuffy, with air that smells like hair chemicals. Why is Brooklyn filled with all these precious boutique barbershops offering young men some kind of authentic hipster grooming experience for double the price of a good old barbershop? I have nothing against people trying to make money, but this one's just not for me anymore.
J M — Google review
Nothing but great experiences at Outsiders. It’s got a relaxed atmosphere and Eric has always cut my hair perfectly and professionally. I know the same can be said for Joseph and Frank too. Highly recommend it to anyone in the neighborhood or Brooklyn generally

Outsiders barbershop is the spot to get a fresh fade or a perfect haircut. I highly recommend my partner loves coming here and he is specially likes the style of the cuts. They also have complementary drinks and play great music too. Very professional and overall highly recommend Frank, Joseph and Eric! *Update I love this shop. Joseph is a fantastic barber. We worked on creating a mullet with bangs as inspired by a picture online. I was getting a cut from a wedding reception. Everyone at the wedding came up to me to complement my hair style and asked about the genius behind it. Thank you so much Joseph! I highly recommend booking an appointment soon, they do fill up quickly around this time of year.
Victorya K — Google review
Nice discreet spot for a haircut. Eric is fantastic and communicates really clearly about what I'm looking for and what he can do. Also really chill conversation. Doorman said my haircut looked good. 💇🏻‍♂️
Stephen S — Google review
Not worth the hassle - cash only, weird hours so no morning cuts, and you won't be seen without an online appointment. I've come before and had accepted the high prices others have complained about. Today though, I walked in with an appointment only to be told, after waiting, I was rebooked for the following Friday because my barber is on vacation. The only warning you get is an email the system sends several days after booking that looks like another appointment reminder. You can't block days in your system? Now we're guessing when we actually have our appointment? They were barely apologetic and didn't want to take any responsibility. Just blamed their system and said I could come back in a week while there's only 1 other person waiting in the shop. I'm not returning. You don't have to deal with this in a neighborhood where there's other options available. Update: Seems like the owner can't work with customers standing in their shop but can break their long silence on Google reviews. I want to emphasize that two employees gave me the silent treatment for several minutes until another customer came in. Then, the only one actually cutting hair (who also seems to be the owner), chuckled about my barber being out of town like I should have known, said I need to pay better attention to my email and come back next week, then left me in silence again until I said I guess I'll just head out. I took a second outside and returned to let them know how frustrating their attitude and excuses were while wasting my time. He laughed, gave more excuses (including that their system doesn't allow day blocking), and waved me out the door. Looks like they've since figured out how to add a note that their barber is on vacation and make those days unavailable for booking. Maybe in the future they'll figure out how to confirm when changing a customer's appointment - like every other business does. Also have to love the irony of an owner blaming a customer for "lack of reading" in the middle of a barely comprehensible reply.
Zack W — Google review

Spuyten Duyvil Shorefront Park is part of a series of parklands along the western border of the Bronx, offering a peaceful escape from city life. It's a small NYC park that provides a serene walking area and scenic views of the Hudson River. While some may find it small, others appreciate its tranquility and enjoy watching magnificent sunsets there. The park is approved for dog walking and offers an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of nearby streets.
Small place with incredible views of the bridge and water. Dense enough that you feel like you are in a forest. Road noise not that bad considering how close it is to them. Really felt isolated. Saw a rabbit as soon as I walked in. Takes about 5-10 minutes to walk through. lol at the other reviewer who couldn't find it. There's multiple entries from the surrounding Edsall Av and also a big entry immediately before the parking lot by the train station with a big gate. Seriously not a small entrance, you could drive a car into it if you weren't paying attention. I found it on my first visit in the dark. Some rocky paths. Not for those who have trouble walking. Honestly worth an afternoon visit, and if you need to do something else in the area just walk to that Henry Hudson park, go to the deli and get picnic foods.
Ratchet A — Google review
Quiet, full of nature, and small. Coming here was a short experience that was interrupted by construction and the constant noise pollution from the highway. There’s not much room here for more than one group of people to walk around and enjoy the park. It’s underwhelming given all of the good reviews. Inconvenient to get to as well. Best leave this park for the locals of this neighborhood to enjoy.

Been living in Riverdale my whole life pretty much. Been going to that park since I was a child. Always liked it. Nice, & peaceful. Seeing reviews on here about it's to small, can't find places, & not much to it. It's a small NYC park. Not Central Park. The negative reviews are not needed. If you are adults who are putting those up please act like adults, & show happiness. TaTa. 😀

I want to give 5 stars but there wasnt much of anything going on here. Still though, a beautiful stop through the Bronx that you almost have to see to believe is there. It's a spot approved for dogs to walk along which was great, but the trails seem to come to a quick and abrupt end. The water seems so close yet so far away as you're on the train platform under the trellis. If you happen to be in the area around a sunset time, it's most likely worth the aesthetics.

I visited the park on an unusual snowy early morning and yet it was burstling with life. People walking their digs, birds chirping. Thr paths were not all cleared as it has snowed a lot. Cropsey tended to autumnal colors, and even this scene must be late summer, judging by the foliage. Long before this site came to be dominated by the Bridge it provided the citizenry with a vista of the Hudson heading out to see and all that lay beyond. Dave, Jessie and the guides- Mo, Dylan and Ted,- are so knowledgeable and happy to share their knowledge. Helping me source water and firewood, showing me how to put my pack on and much more. This was my first tent camping trip and destination back country made it a great one. They had equipment I could borrow so I didn’t have to purchase any ( tent/backpack) We went on a really beautiful hike and woke up to rain in the am ( which made it an even more enjoyable). They really take their time to pick a good trail thats not crowded and where you can enjoy our time. The guides were so welcoming fun to chat with. They also read the group well on how we wanted proceed as the trip went on. Thank you to the whole team for answering my millions of questions. Super fun group of people (I went not knowing any one else). I highly recommend Destination Backcountry and look forwards to more trips.

I have nothing but good things to say about DBA. I've only been on hikes/camping trips with them 3 times and I just can't get enough. All the guides are funny, respectful, knowledgeable and professional. They are also super chill and friendly to talk to regardless your hiking/camping experience. I just went on an overnight trip with Alexandra Witter, she's amazing! She's on top of her game and made sure everyone was taken care of by cooking, setting up tents, collecting water, starting fire etc. she worked tirelessly to ensure we enjoyed our experience. The owner Dave and his wife always stop by to say hi with their adorable baby girl to everyone when they drop off gears. They also make home made sauce for us to enjoy. Dave is kind enough to offer me a free overnight trip after 2 camping trips got cancelled but I didn't get notified in time. That just shows how serious he is about his business and to make sure that his customers are happy and satisfied. It's a tight community with a family style where you can just feel the tight bond between the employees themselves and the frequent hikers. I'm def. going to sign up for another trip with them soon!

I am a novice camper. I've been out with DBA several times over the years on day hikes and overnights. Always a good trip. This weekend I brought my 6 year daughter for her first camping trip. It was way more than I could have asked for. DBA picked a great trail, the best campground location, and took care of so many of the minor items it would have taken me forever to prepare for, and money to buy (if i knew to buy them). They know the mountains very well and are VERY knowledgeable of the outdoors. Plus, I had an extra set of eyes watching my daughter. I highly recommend them.

This past weekend I went on great hike. I choose ones of the hardest trips they offer. I was fortunate enough to have been guided by Dave, Jess & Kristen; who happen to be the kindest people out there. We were also accompanied by a trustworthy dog named Winnie. We had done a strenuous 3 day hike(sat-mon) through the catskills. Our guides were patient and reassuring. They were well prepared with food and always had a supply of fresh cold water. They were also knowledgeable of the terrain, so at no point did we ever feel lost. Kristen was also super patient. There was ample supply of treats. Dave & Jess had prepared awesome dinners that was unexpected given that we were in the deep Forrest. Dave, if you read this, your asparagus & steak tacos was dope. We look forward to going on other hikes with them.

This family owned hiking business is a pure gem. I've been hiking on and off with DBA since 2011 and fourteen years later I still get so excited to go out on another hiking adventure with the DBA team. In all the time I've been hiking with DBA, not once have I had an unsatisfactory experience. DBA guides and assistants are fantastic. They are professional, knowledgable, welcoming, friendly and experienced. If you are thinking about going hiking , give DBA a try. What I love about DBA is how convenient they make it for you to get out there. I think they are the only hiking company that has two pick up/drop off locations - Barclay Center Brooklyn and 42nd Street Manhattan! Another thing I love about DBA is that they provide breakfast and a delicious assortment of food to eat for lunch. Not only does this do wonders to lighten your pack but also makes you look forward to eating the delicious treats after you've been hiking a few hours. Try DBA, you will be so glad you did!:-)

Excellent hiking experience with Brad and Alnear. The trip was exactly as described. Very punctual. Both tour guides were great. They knew what they were doing, guided us and kept us safe. Thanks for the wonderful outing. Look forward to more in the future

Goodhue Park is a large and well-maintained park located in the heart of Minneapolis. The hiking trails are perfect for dog walkers, as they are well-marked and provide a scenic loop around some kettle ponds. The forested areas contain many hardwoods, making it an ideal spot to explore on foot or bike.
Goodhue is a hidden treasure like no other. Such amazing memories from childhood and now as a parent too!

The parking lot and playground is under construction and there are dumpsters in the parking lot. There is a pretty decent softball field and basketball court as well. I was at the softball field side of the park and cannot speak for the rest of the park. There are two port o potties ...no bathrooms
Bill V — Google review
Goodhue Park is highly inaccessible as both entrances locked up at 2 PM at the beginning of June. You have to enter through a hole in the fence. Almost every part of this park is poorly maintained if maintained at all. The water fountains don’t work, necessary caution signage is on the floor, trees block off pathways, cigarettes and broken bottles are on the pathways, and the garbage is overflowing. The grass isn’t mowed, and the benches are rusty and dented while in awkward spots to sit in. The only pro was that I saw some cute turtles

Sneeze and you miss Raoul Wallenberg's memorial Park. 1, No public restrooms. 2.Hardly any acreage. 3. No signage about Raoul Wallenburg's rescue of HungarianJews from Adolph Eichmann''s murderous plots.

Not well marked or maintained at the moment. But still a lovely walk, especially if you just walk through to get to the Riverdale Park trails.

I haven't quite figured this place out yet. I do most of my trailing at Riverdale Park hiking trails. When I walk into Raul wallenberg Forest it just seems to be a big mess. It kind of discourages hiking. I will take the time to explore it more at some point
