Magnolia Bakery is a beloved bakeshop that gained fame after its cupcakes appeared on 'Sex and the City.' Known for its classic American baked goods, this cozy West Village spot offers an inviting atmosphere with vintage decor. The menu features a wide array of handmade treats, from cakes and cupcakes to cookies, bars, and seasonal pies. However, the real star is the decadent banana pudding made with layers of vanilla wafers, bananas, and vanilla pudding.
Visiting the original Magnolia Bakery at 401 Bleecker Street in the West Village is a great experience. The shop has a charming vibe with vintage decor and a cozy atmosphere. Their cupcakes are tasty, but the star is definitely the banana pudding. It’s smooth, rich, and absolutely delicious. They also offer a peanut banana pudding, though it’s not as impressive. Staff were super friendly. Expect long queues, especially on weekends. Parking is nearly impossible, so plan accordingly.

This is the viral bakery that I have been wanting to try for a long time. I absolutely loved it. They are known for their banana pudding and it was delicious. I went during the fall time and was able to try a few of their fall flavored pasties. I got a pumpkin cheesecake, a regular cheesecake and I believe it was some type of gingersnap pastry as well. Everything was so good. There isn't seating inside but across the street there's an area with benches I sat on to enjoy. 10/10 I would come again!
Sonia R — Google review
Magnolia Bakery is one of those spots that feels like a true New York moment. It is cozy, welcoming, and the kind of place that manages to be both iconic and genuinely good. Everyone talks about the banana pudding, and for good reason. It is creamy, light, and unlike anything else. But my personal recommendation is the chocolate cupcake with vanilla icing. It is simple, perfectly balanced, and exactly what a classic cupcake should taste like. The bakery itself is always clean and the staff are friendly, which makes the experience feel easy and enjoyable, even when it is busy. It is also across the street from a great little bookstore, which makes stopping by feel like you are stepping into one of those quintessential New York City days where everything lines up just right. Magnolia works for just about everyone. It is great for kids, but just as fun for adults who want a sweet treat or a nostalgic moment. Whether you are local or visiting, it is a must-go and a place you will probably find yourself returning to again and again.
Charly H — Google review
Try the famous banana pudding which is surprisingly tasty with banana chunks and cookies and cream. Love it. Also got the red velvet cheesecake and Iced matcha, delicious too. Only for take out so we enjoyed them in nearby park. All the cakes look really attractive in the shop, can’t wait to try more soon.
Tan T — Google review
My first time trying Magnolia Bakery and fell in love. I have the brown sugar cookie and the hot chocolate with oat milk and it was very delicious. This is great stop for quick sweet treat. I've heard great things about the banana pudding, I'll try it next time.
Ashley F — Google review
Finally tried Magnolia Bakery’s famous banana pudding—totally worth the hype. Creamy, fluffy, with real banana chunks and soft wafers that melt right in. Sweet but not too heavy, and dangerously easy to finish in one sitting. A NYC must-try dessert—approved and devoured.
Samara L — Google review
This is a classic. I don’t think it needs any more recommendation. I obviously got the banana pudding and I was very surprised at how good it was. I also got the seasonal pumpkin spice pudding, and it was the perfect fall dessert. I cannot recommend the banana pudding enough. I actually thought about ways in which I could bring this back to Europe, so now I’m hoping they would open up a bakery somewhere in Europe.
Maria I — Google review
It was my first time trying the famous banana pudding. I did not expect to like it that much. It is definitely not to be missed whenever you visit here. We also got pecan cheesecake which was good as well. It was rich and heavy.

Milk Bar, created by Chef Christina Tosi, is a dessert empire with eight locations across Manhattan and Brooklyn. The flagship store offers an expanded menu of inventive desserts and customizable sweets. The branch on Vanderbilt Avenue provides a sunny outdoor seating area and serves a special cereal milk latte alongside classic coffee options. This laptop-friendly cafe encourages a one-hour limit during busy times and has a no-laptop policy on weekends.
Great atmosphere inside, the neon lights and mirrors around really add to it. The sample of the milk bar pie was very welcoming (and tasty). The cornflake cookie is also fantastic, will come again
Avery M — Google review
Delicious desserts for all hours of the day. I had the Milk Bar pie and Sundae combo deal. They were both good. The vanilla soft serve ice cream is a cereal milk tasting flavor which my husband did not like. He thought it was good but his flavor of choice. The pie was very rich maybe too rich for me. Eating it together was delicious though. Prices were good. Selection was good. Seating available was good. It’s a nice place to sit and satisfy your sweet tooth for sure.
Ny B — Google review
Had this place recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint! We ordered the lemon meringue pie and cereal milk soft serve, and it definitely satisfied our sweet tooth. The girl taking our order was also super sweet. Would definitely visit again if I’m ever in NYC again!
Rizka B — Google review
This place has definitely gone way downhill. The employees don’t care, the music is too loud and this is what a “Pie and Soft Serve” looks like. Everyone understands that when someone orders pie and ice cream, the ice cream should be on top of the pie. And also the pie should be warm. Here instead you get this and the pie is refrigerated solid out of a box. Very dissatisfying
Prasenjit M — Google review
Honestly? Average. Just average. I came here expecting a fun, creative dessert stop something sweet to wrap up the night, but everything just kind of fell flat. The snacks looked cute, sure, but the flavors were uninspired. Our drinks were lukewarm, the sugar hit too strong, and it all felt like the staff was more eager to close up than serve something memorable. Quick notes for fellow dessert hunters: Service: Polite and minimal, just enough to take the order and move things along. Food: Ok. It's ok. Atmosphere: Clean enough, but the energy was as tired as the drinks. Nothing terrible, but nothing special either. Out of everywhere I visited in NYC, this was the most forgettable stop, which is saying something in a city full of flavor.
M K — Google review
Really beautiful and vintage old 50s diner. Living for it! Staff really kind. Looks clean. Taste not as hyped for, and kinda expensive. But still a good place to hangout for a little bit and get a coffee.
Noelly E — Google review
My wife, daughter, and I stopped by and had a wonderful experience. Jasmine was the best! She was so helpful and friendly, we loved her! She hooked us up with stickers and this cool bag! Did I mention the ice cream is so delicious?!? I highly recommend going here.

I love this place!!! Jamika is amazing and she made my day with the Milk Bar pie slice. ADDICTIVE!!! I ordered one and doubled back for another 10 minutes later. The service was impeccable and I want to give Jamika her hospitality flowers. Her cheerfulness is infectious and she’s glad to answer questions. Thanks Milk Bar!!!

From Lucie is a charming bakery in NYC that has quickly gained popularity for its enchanting and art-inspired cakes. The owner, Lucie Franc de Ferriere, draws inspiration from her French countryside upbringing and background in art to create beautifully imperfect cakes topped with flowers and foliage. The bakery offers a variety of epicurean flavors such as Lemon Olive Oil Cake with Lavender Swiss Meringue Buttercream and Poached Pear and Raspberry Almond Cake with Brown Butter Maple Buttercream.
I discovered this adorable bakery very randomly, it was actually from searching for a neighboring store on Google maps and I had seen the name so I looked it up and immediately thought how cute it looked, so I added it into the plans and I’m so glad I did. I took a piece of carrot cake to go and when I finally dove in for my bites, I was blown away. I went back a few mornings later and decided to enjoy a piece of carrot cake and an orange blossom latte while sitting at one of the outdoor tables and it was just as delicious as the last and it was such a peaceful area to sit and relax. The staff was so helpful and friendly which made it even more lovely to support this small business. You earned a lifelong customer from Key West and I can’t wait to come back!
Emily S — Google review
tried From Lucie's stout cake at a pop-up today and without ever stepping foot in this bakery before, I now want to go and live there and try every single cake this extraordinary Pastry Chef makes. The stout cake was unbelievable. At first I was amazed by how gorgeous the cake looked. I was in awe of the flowers, decoration, and just absolute loveliness of it. Then, I tasted it, and wow, my son and I stayed quiet for a moment. That's how special it was... I soon went around asking at this pop-up (that had nothing to do with cake) what bakery this cake was from? Who are they? What magic is this? Yes, this cake was magical...I haven't tried like it before...and if you haven't tried her cakes before either, please do. I am so happy we got to and I so look forward to trying another one of From Lucie's creation soon...very soon. If the person who made the stout cake today is reading this... thank you! We absolutely loved it.
Mona I — Google review
Cakes look beautiful but don’t quite live up to the hype. The frosting-to-cake ratio is often off, and the floral decorations are overdone. Tried olive oil cake with lemon frosting, vanilla cake with earl grey, and chocolate cake with espresso salted fudge, the last one was way too heavy. Portions are small for the price. Overall, looks great but taste and balance need improvement.
Mounica B — Google review
Dear Lucie, It was honestly the best, most beautifully decorated birthday carrot cake we’ve ever had!!! So deliciously moist and fluffy, but not too sweet, and the cream cheese frosting is straight up CRACK!!! Thank you for making our cake with love!
Nicholas ( — Google review
i got a mini carrot cake and instantly fell in love!!! 🧸❤️ not only was the frosting perfectly sweetened, but the cake itself was flavorful and moist. it had a lovely balance of sweet and spice! although prices are on the higher end, the quality and decorative touch make it worth the price. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their cake flavors and pastries! :)
Milagros O — Google review
delicious baked goods!!! this bakery has not only my favorite chocolate chip cookie in manhattan, but also a plethora of other amazing desserts. some of my other favorites would have to be the lemon thyme bar and carrot cake (gluten-free). i love how everything is presented so beautifully with flowers on top. i’m also a fan of the cute outdoor seating. highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area. :)
Emaan S — Google review
I felt a little concerned seeing the reviews about the cake being dry but i am glad i took the chance and tried it. unfortunately they didnt have a mini chocolate that day so had to try the carrot cake which was super nice. not too sweet! over all agood decision. As for the size Perfect for 2 people! Would love to try the choc next time
Maryam M — Google review
I’ve been wanting to visit for ages and finally made it to try the beautiful treats at from lucie- can confirm, pretty AND amazing. Bakeries are pretty much my #1 passion as a New Yorker, and maaaany disappoint, particularly when it comes to chocolate chip cookies; these were a top contender- simple, perfect texture, thin, buttery, and delicious! I also love they have GF treats that pass with flying colors. Cutest store, would shout it from the rooftops, but I’m sort of sick of all the good spots being taken over… so hoping this spot stays a perfectly appreciated small gem in the city ❤️

Flour Shop is a contemporary bakery known for its vibrant and colorful sweet treats. The founder, Amirah Kassem, gained attention with her viral explosion cake, which led to the opening of the first Flour Shop store. The bakery offers over-the-top and glamorous cakes that are perfect for social media with their eye-catching designs. Kassem's untraditional approach to cake design results in visually stunning creations that are as fun as they are delicious.
If you happen to be passing by Flour Shop on your journeys, take 5-10 out of your day to stop in and check the place out. The decor is really fun and will instantly brighten your day. I ordered the rainbow cake pop which was very fresh and tasty and also got a couple of the bonbons and ate them right away. Cute spot!

The decor of Flour Shop is adorable and colorful with paintings of rainbow on the walls. It’s a perfect place for birthday cakes and satisfying desserts. The taste was not the best but it looked beautiful and delicate.

amazing novelty gift cake!!! you show up with one of these cakes and you will be the hero of the party! super cool cake shop on Lafayette St. the foot traffic in the area is still really low during the week, so I encourage you to try and get to their shop! we have to support these small businesses! plus there are some great places in the shop for that perfect ig photo. its pricey! for sure - but really the best place for this kind of cake!
Debbi — Google review
I haven’t been here in person but a friend bought their chocolate ice cream cake and it was soooo good! I don’t usually like ice cream cake but this one had cake inside as well as ice cream and was delicious :)
Emily F — Google review
Cute cake shop with plenty of space and some colorful decor, but very expensive. Small 'cake balls' are $3 and larger cakes run North of $50. The kids enjoyed the treat but you'll need deep pockets to cater a party from here.
Howard — Google review
Instagram worthy decor. Fun inventive treats. You can’t leave without a smile on your face I guarantee. It feels like stepping into a Birthday party!🎈 staff was really friendly too.
Jennifer L — Google review
Lovely shop with a cool concept: clean, baroque white furniture with fun pops of color throughout. The instagramably beauteous desserts are delicious but watch out: super expensive!!! $40 for a small unicorn cake that serve 4 (small slices) makes Flour Shop a special occasion kind of place. Totally worth it if you know you’re in for a fun splurge.

It is a cute place to bring your child to. The atmosphere is upbeat. The cake tastes yummy but the price tag is very high to make it a regular spot.

Lady Wong Pastry & Cakes is a charming patisserie that offers a delightful selection of Southeast Asian-inspired treats. Founded by Andre Oliver, the patisserie features an array of homemade ice creams in fourteen flavors, including spiked options for those looking to indulge. The pastries and cakes at Lady Wong have won over many patrons with their consistently delightful taste and presentation.
One of the most memorable bakery visits I’ve had in NYC! I tried four of their cakes and each one was a work of art in both flavor and presentation. My absolute favorite was the Black Sesame Passion Fruit. The mousse was perfectly nutty, the caramel balanced, and the sesame crunch gave the best texture contrast. The Ube Blackberry was a dream for ube lovers, layered textures with fragrant ube caramel and a subtle citrus note. The Blackout Noir is a chocolate lover’s fantasy, deep Valrhona chocolate, silky ganache, and coffee caramel that’s rich and indulgent. The Mont Blanc Chestnut Mille Crêpes was delicate, creamy, and lightly sweet with a very refined chestnut flavor. Also tried their Pandan Latte, which was aromatic and unique, a cozy companion to the desserts. Everything here feels thoughtfully created, from flavor pairings to textures. This place is definitely a hidden gem for elevated, modern pastries and I’ll absolutely be coming back for more!
Bella L — Google review
Lady Wong is a flop! I’m disappointed by all the great reviews especially because most are from Asians. The black sesame passion fruit is pretty sweet and not as described at all. It’s suppose to be a black sesame moose but the consistency is definitely not a mouse and also has very little black sesame flavor. The best part was the passion fruit but there’s very little of it. I also got a pineapple cake was a bigger disappointment especially at $9 for 2. There was more breading than anything and the pineapple portion is definitely not 100% pineapple. The flavor is very off! I’ve had some of the best pineapple cakes in Taiwan. I wouldn’t waste calories eating any desserts from Lady Wong!
Lily Z — Google review
Delicious cakes and kuih! Every single cake is so delicious. Matcha pandan tart had a good mix of both matcha and pandan. Very surprised how the flavors mixed so well and it tasted so refreshing. Definitely unique as I've not had this flavor before. Black sesame and passion fruit had both earthy nutty flavor from black sesame, and then a good citrus tart flavor from passion fruit. Passion fruit and calamansi cake was light, fluffy and fruity delicious. The kuih was good. The custard was so soft and smooth, while the non custard kuih was smooth, just the right chewy texture and not overly sweet. Wonderful.
Kenneth T — Google review
We got 4 things (black sesame, strawberry guava, ube nian gao, hazelnut crêpe cake), and everything had 9-10 flavor, texture, and design 😍—wish we’d tried more! All were nicely sweet and not cloying. It’s a very small shop but pretty and clean, with good service. There is seating. They tape the card to the bottom of the box so your goods don’t get messed up. 👍 The only sad thing is that they might not have your favorite pastry since the display always changes and sells out quickly. Strawberry guava was light and airy as a cloud and melts in your mouth. The balance between the savoriness of the sesame and tartness of the passionfruit is lovely. Prob the most unique thing on the menu for those unfamiliar with Asian flavors. I do think there could be more passionfruit to sesame. Hazelnut crêpe cake is soft, milky and easy to eat with a utensil unlike other mille-feuilles. I didn’t get that much praline flavor, however. Ube nian gao was my favorite. The inside is so so chewy and contrasts with the crust which reminded me of cereal.

Lady Wong's desserts are fantastic! We love their Calamansi Passionfruit cake and ordered it for our wedding. They answered all our questions quickly over email and it was delivered without any issues. (Photos by Maddi Waldo)
Vicki L — Google review
Hit or miss depending on the dessert you get. I got 3 desserts: black sesame passionfruit, matcha tart and talam pandan. Didn’t really taste the black sesame, the passionfruit overpowered the dessert. Matcha tart was okay. The best one was the talam pandan, that actually tasted like the ones I used to eat as a kid. I’d still come back and try their other desserts.
Theresa L — Google review
Was told this was the place to go for some Asian fusion baked goods but a little unimpressed. While the mango sticky rice cake was good, the service and the cleanliness of the place was lacking. Granted we walked in around 7:30pm but the worker there wasn’t helpful with picking out desserts and could barely hear what she was saying. Also she seemed overwhelmed when an online order came through with something that was sold out but I guess she didn’t check until the driver came to pick up. Will have to try again for a more thorough review.
William O — Google review
Finally paid a visit after following the instagram for years. Cakes are very sweet. Hv to say the taste is customized to New Yorkers. Services are also below my expectations. Anyway, we have tried.

Billy's Bakery is a beloved establishment in New York City, offering an array of delectable sweet treats. Founded by Marc and Wayne, this bakery has become a neighborhood favorite in Chelsea. Their menu features a variety of cake flavors, including classics like chocolate and vanilla, as well as unique options such as bourbon salted caramel and banana cake. Customers can also customize their cakes with different decorations on buttercream-frosted cakes.
Small bakery with big dessert energy. The staff was helpful and gave me notes on the best cupcakes to try. They had a great selection as well, even late in the day. I appreciate the guidance on how to store the baked goods and all. The German chocolate cupcakes were a hit and the quality is still great! I'll be back. I parked on the block and found the shop with ease.

Never in my life have I left a bad review — until Billy’s Bakery. That’s how bad this was. I ordered a nearly $200 custom cake from Billy’s Bakery for my birthday. It was supposed to be the centerpiece of my celebration. Instead, it was an absolute embarrassment. Let’s start with the cake itself: The decoration was a disaster. The writing was so sloppy, uneven, and off-center that guests literally asked me if a child decorated it. The script was barely legible, the loops were exaggerated and awkward, and the placement looked like no one even tried to center it. This wasn’t "hand-crafted charm" — this was inexcusable carelessness. But what made it worse? The customer service. I reached out (politely, at first), explaining that the decoration looked NOTHING like what was promised or advertised. I attached a photo showing the cake in its untouched state, clearly documenting the issue. Their response? A robotic deflection, citing “company policy” and claiming that since the cake was picked up and signed for by a friend, no refund or compensation could be considered — unless I physically returned the uneaten cake the following morning (after my birthday was over). They then doubled down in later emails, saying the mess was simply due to “handwriting variation” and actually had the nerve to tell me they do not agree that it looked sloppy. Excuse me? You’re going to gaslight your customer over an obvious quality issue and then defend it by calling it a “personal style”? I wasn’t asking for a full remake, just basic accountability. But instead of taking responsibility for a visibly subpar product, they patronized me, minimized my concerns, and tried to spin a poorly executed job into an intentional aesthetic. They repeatedly emphasized that their decorators are “skilled professionals” — which only makes the final product even more unacceptable. If this is how Billy’s Bakery handles complaints — with condescension and zero flexibility — then I want nothing to do with them, and I highly encourage others to think twice. There are countless other bakeries in NYC that charge the same price (or less) and actually deliver on quality and service. I will never order from Billy’s again, and I’ll make sure others know not to either. Especially if you’re ordering for a special occasion — trust me, the risk is not worth it.

The chocolate chip cookies were good., the German chocolate cupcake was bitter, the regular chocolate cupcake was nasty, the banana pudding was good, and the cherry cheese cake was great. They also make a very good Chai latte
Fadia H — Google review
I ordered a cake for my church’s small group and people really liked it. The texture was great and this cake was able to feed 20 despite its size. I specified in the delivery instructions that a late delivery is better and they delivered first thing in the morning 🫠 Like not even in the afternoon? I found that strange and very inconvenient. Hopefully they can work on that.
Jessica F — Google review
Unfortunately this bakery just misses the mark in many ways. My funfetti cupcake was so denser but somehow still dry. No seating aside from a single bench (they have space for seating there are just no seats/tables there). Latte was weak and watery, and tasted bitter even with a little added sugar. And with only one person at the counter to take orders, prepare coffee and desserts, and process payments, the line was very long. I’m honestly not sure how this business is surviving in tribeca. They need to use their space more wisely, add some small tables, maybe a little charming music, change their coffee entirely, add a few more workers at the front, and work tweaking their recipe for a moister cake. My only positive thing was the buttercream icing was delicious!
Natalia R — Google review
Disappointed with their lack of ability to do lettering. I ordered this 8’’ cake and paid $80 plus tax for the lettering to be done this way (lettering was free and it shows). I was so embarrassed I started laughing. I had to manually remove the lettering and buy multiple candles last minute to make it look better for my sister’s birthday. The taste was okay but definitely do not ask for anything written on it. Unfortunately I can’t take it back, I wish I had ordered it from a different place.
Becca H — Google review
I bought two cupcakes from here and they both tasted like stale bread with enough sugar to give me diabetes. I’m not one to throw away food but for $9, I couldn’t even pretend to find these decent. Also, there’s nowhere to sit or enjoy these cupcakes except one, sad bench.

Nestled in the vibrant neighborhoods of Soho and the Lower East Side, Little Cupcake Bakeshop is a delightful haven for dessert lovers. This charming bakeshop specializes in traditional American sweets, all crafted with sustainable ingredients in an eco-friendly environment. From colorful cupcakes topped with fluffy frosting to delectable cake cups—especially their famed Brooklyn Blackout Cake, which has a rich history dating back to the 1800s—there's something for everyone here.
I drove past a cute and vintage-looking cupcake bakeshop and thought, “Oh my gosh, it’s so adorable!” I grabbed coffee just two minutes away and wanted something different from the coffee shop. So, I decided to walk to the bakeshop, and I have never had such amazing cupcakes in my life! I tried the strawberry shortcake, carrot, coconut, and red velvet cupcakes. The bread itself was so fluffy and not too sweet, just perfect. The frosting was just right! I highly recommend this place. I also tried their almond croissant, which I’ve never had anything like before!

I have been to the city many times over the past few years. I finally made my way into this gem of a bakery. Between the cakes, muffins and pies there is something for your palate. I chose the carrot cake cupcake. It did not disappoint. There was a perfect balance of sweet and savory. There was a hint of ginger and it was moist but not wet as some carrot cakes/muffins can be. The cream cheese frosting was soooo good. I wish had also gotten the hostess cupcake. Yes that’s right like the ones from your childhood. Except these are made fresh and not processed. See photo. Thanks to the staff who were super nice and the ambiance is what I would expect of a fanciful bakery. My rating is 5 stars.

Such a cozy little cupcake spot in Nolita — it feels super homey, like everything was baked with love right in someone’s kitchen. The vegan cookies and cream cupcake was seriously delicious (moist, not overly sweet), and the red velvet was really good too. Definitely want to come back to try their popular chocolate cake next time. Only downside is that their website could use a little refreshing — it doesn’t quite match how cute and warm the shop feels in person.
P L — Google review
Popped in to try some sweets. The S'mores bar was a 3.5/5 as it was a little dry. The Nutella Bar was a 4/5. The Apple Crumb Bar was a 5/5 and was by far my favorite. I'd come back just for that. The service was great as the staff members were super nice and professional and there was no wait.
Isaiah H — Google review
Giving stars because the shop looks nice and the workers were decently understanding when I expressed my concerns about their brownies. The cupcakes and brownies are very overrated and too sweet. They look delicious but the taste doesn’t match up unfortunately. Everything is overpriced for a mid cupcake. The rice Krispie treats may be the best thing there though! Overall, I wouldn’t come back
Aishat O — Google review
The strawberry cake flavor is decent but the texture is dry and needs to be more moist. For $10 per cake slice, I expect a higher quality product. The Brooklyn Blackout cake is not good and has a weird after taste.
Homeboii S — Google review
It's cute and cozy. Always go there when I crave a gluten free cupcake. They're the best I had in NYC. Their vegan chocolate cupcakes are amazing as well. I would imagine the non gluten free cake and cupcakes are as good if not better from all the happy sugared faces.
Marwa E — Google review
My daughters treated me to a delicious raspberry vegan bar 3 years ago. I loved it!!! They have since shipped the same bars to me out of state. Came into town to spend my birthday with them and upon my arrival… my favorite bar waiting for me. I was so excited until I had my first bite and immediately noticed the bar is simply not the same bar. The crust is now very cake-like and devoid of flavor. The ingredients that made this bar my go to dessert in NYC have definitely changed and not for the better. It’s as if the ingredient list has been pared down to the bare minimum and the taste and texture reflects this sad change. Unfortunately, I will not return to LCB while visiting NYC nor ask for a special shipment.

Supermoon Bakehouse, located in the Lower East Side, is a bakery that has gained popularity for its innovative and visually stunning pastries. Co-founded by Ry Stephen of San Francisco's Mr. Holmes Bakehouse, this bakery offers a unique selection of croissants, donuts, and cruffins (croissant-muffin hybrids). The croissants are described as having a distinctive appearance with rounded corners and a glossy sheen.
Not your typical bakery. I've gotten boxes in the past and I do think their pastries are top notch. I was in the area and stopped in becase I heard there was a summer elote croissant. Good, but I do wish the corn flavor was stronger. The place is not like any other bakery - more lab-like than inviting. The five stars are for my memories of what I remember being one of the better croissants in NYC.
Lisa W — Google review
Supermoon Bakehouse has a very edgy trendy interior mixed with such unique flavor combinations which is what drew me here in the first place. My friend and I had a hard time deciding what to get because everything seemed so interesting. We went with the strawberry matcha croissant, Banana pudding cruffin, and white Sesame, honeycomb & sweet soy gelato. We started by tasting the gelato which wasn't as punchy in flavor as we had hoped. The banana cruffin had great banana custard filling but we wished the textural difference between the pudding and the crisp croissant was more drastic. The matcha strawberry croissant was my personal favorite. ACTUAL matcha flavor which is hard to find nowadays and the croissant was so buttery and held its own against the sweetness of the strawberry! After trying everything else and the gelato melted a little the flavors popped out more! Definitely give this place a shot if you want to try new and interesting flavors!!

I love creative bakeries like this, who don't settle for the ordinary and try the daring. I gave their chilli croissant and the ube eclair a try. The chilli croissant had a nice flaky texture, as you would expect from any good bakery. The chilli cream cheese was inserted in the middle of the croissant, which meant it wasn't evenly distributed. The flavours were nice though and it's worth trying for something different. The ube eclair was done well. The choux pastry was just right. The uber icing and ube centre was just the right level of sweetness, with little candy pieces decorated on top, giving a nice crunchy texture. It was certainly the highlight. Would definitely recommend stopping by to try their creations. Not cheap, but it's all about the art.

Got the spicy nyc croissant (savory, not really spicey, has cream cheese inside with hints of black pepper), and scallion pancake Danish (i like this savory croissant, not spicey, has nice crunch texture, very good, would get this again) Thai tea eclair also very good, tasty, taste just like Thai tea 😁 I was able to sit inside, limited seating. Also it gets busy, so go early, things could sell out and they will post a sold out label in front of the items. I don't go often, but every time I come here there's always a variety of pastries to choose from sweet to savory and all good and worth trying.
Jason M — Google review
Admittedly, social media brought me here, but—unlike other TikTok inspired food journeys—this was well worth it. I see some of the reviews touch on the brutalist architecture of the store, and I understand if that’s not your vibe but I personally loved it: I felt like I was in some video game or sci-fi 80s movie that involved dark warehouses and hidden pastries… although the pastry isn’t hidden: a lineup of croissants, eclairs, cookies and more are displayed along the counter and the very pleasant (and patient) pastry experts behind the counter and very sweet about helping you make a choice. I went with the ube eclair, which is probably the best eclair I’ve ever had. All of their treats are very pretty, but this one has an equally vibrant purple filling and the flavors were the perfect balance of buttery, salty, creamy and sweet. Fully intend on returning because I almost went for the Thai tea eclair and now I want it more.

Finally made a point of visiting this high performance bakery. Very spartan concrete & steel space with the functioning bakery behind a red toned industrial polyurethane curtains. All available items are placed on a 16’ stainless steel island. A little over 20 items were displayed on my visit from ice cream sandwiches to sweet pastries to baguette sandwiches for take away. I chose the passion fruit custard donut, mango lime custard donut, Thai iced tea bi-color croissant, ube éclair along with one scoop of Thai iced tea and Kaya toast gelato & a scoop of sesame honeycomb and sweet soy gelato in a cup. The gelato texture was quite excellent and the flavor was certainly unique and rich. I enjoyed them both. We saved the pastries for an after dinner dessert. The flavor of the passion fruit custard donut & ube éclair were absolutely exemplary. The mango/lime custard donut was very tasty as well. The croissant was larger than most due to the luscious Thai iced tea custard lurking within! All the pastries were filled abundantly! The two gentlemen at the island were all smiles & clearly confident of all the offerings. They were knowledgeable & helpful too. The items are expensive but that’s more a statement of the quality ingredients & labor intensive demands of each handmade product. I highly suggest a visit. It is a very worthwhile trip.

Talk about cool…. This place gives retro-futuristic vibes, like I could see a robot serving up the orders but also an actual really cool human waitress. The customer divide was nice and the pastries were even better. I do not like eclairs at all - or so I thought. The Thai tea eclair was soooo good. I also got the strawberry matcha latte croissant and it was divine. The strawberry flavor alone was so delicious like strawberry milk. I love how they were sold out of things but still had a good selection left by the end of the day and it wasn’t stale. Will definitely be back here. It’s not your average bakery
Kenni — Google review
Unfortunately did not have the greatest experience. Got 2 ice cream sandwiches which came to about $24 and the ice cream was melting before even opening the packet. They did add seating in the front so we were able to sit and eat there but it was a mess since the ice cream was essentially soup. There also wasn’t enough staffing to do the work in the back and mind the front so they weren’t helpful with quality control, we ended up asking for spoons because it was spilling out the of package and onto the table. Taste wise, the sandwich part was great, just wish we got to experience it as it was meant to be.

It has gained widespread acclaim and has become a must-visit spot for brownie enthusiasts. The bakery offers an array of traditional treats such as oversized cupcakes, generously sized cookies, and rich, moist brownies that are hard to resist.
Lovely coffee shop in Red Hook. Nice exterior and interior. Great lattes and wonderful selection of baked goods and pastries. Friendly service.

We went on a Sunday so street parking was not that difficult. We got some cupcakes because they looked pretty and the flavors sounded great but they all tasted horrible and were very hard that we each took one bite of each item then threw it out. We also got the pecan bar and a peanut butter Nutella one - both were not worth the price and my kids hated it. We also ended up throwing them out. Also the employee that was helping us seemed very impatient which caused us to feel flustered and I didn’t get to order more than I would usually for trying a bakery for the first time - albeit I have to say it benefited us since we didn’t like anything we did get so would just have been an added waste of money.

Went there because it's the only cafe close to my work. Place is small and expensive. When it comes to food and drink, it's very bad. I had a latte and a cheese biscuit. The biscuit and latte tasted terrible, and it was expensive. I spent more than $10 and had to throw out my drink and biscuit. I would not go there again.

Pretty community-engaged bakery. Cute space with seating inside. 🥐❤️‍🔥Croissant was out of my expectations! Their croissant reminded me of the pineapple bun in Chinese bakeries. It was brick-liked crunchy outside, soft and pliable inside. I made myself a sandwich at home. The apple spiced cake was a classic. Moist but a little bit oily for me. The brownie and cookie thing was the same. Delicious but slightly too oily.

Quaint shop with plenty of indoor seating and lots of dessert options to choose from. Blueberry muffin was a classic and the matcha tea was yummy!

So happy we went with Baked for our wedding cake. From the very first tasting, Annemarie was warm, professional, and easy to work with. On our wedding day, the cake was stunning — it looked exactly how we imagined and tasted incredible. We ended up going with the citrus passionfruit, red velvet, and almond matcha (our personal favorite). Usually not a cake person, but Baked cakes are undeniably delicious

Our wedding guests continue to tell us how great our desserts were—even many months later! So we had to make sure to send our thanks to Baked! We had a cutting cake with two different flavors: Oopsy Daisy on the top, Sweet and Salty on the bottom. Then we sent out platters of cupcakes to our tables of those flavors, plus a mix of others. Additionally, we were able to serve some gluten-free and vegan options for guests with dietary restrictions. Annemarie really helped us work through all the details beforehand, and everything turned out perfect on the day of. Again, we cannot thank them enough! Expect us to come back often, and especially on our anniversary, to pick up some treats!

This bakery is heaven!!! Like best almond croissant of my life kind of heaven. Can I say it was better than any baked goodies I had in Paris or is that too much?!?! Also the coffee is great but the Chai latte is even better. They use a real tea blend and not just from a box like most places. Nice seating options. Can’t wait to go back!

Ladybird Bakery, a beloved 32-year-old establishment in Brooklyn, is known for its classic and traditional sweet treats. The compact neighborhood shop offers a variety of house-made cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other delectable specialties. Customers can enjoy customized cakes with expertly frosted designs and a range of flavors. Notably, the bakery's signature Brooklyn Black Out cake features layers of dark chocolate cake with chocolate pudding and decadent frosting.
FANTASTIC LOCAL DESSERT BAKERY 🧁 Great to see Lady Bird back up and running in a new location. The cakes are very good and come in different sizes. Known for their “Brooklyn Blackout” cake for the chocolate lovers and it also comes as a cup cake that’s more manageable in size. My favorite is the pecan fudge bar… it’s a must try. Overall, all the dessert items are very good! Highly Recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ladybird Bakery is hands down my favorite bakery in NYC. I’ve been enjoying their sweet treats since I was a child and their Brooklyn blackout cake is truly out of this world. Perfectly sweet, rich, & moist with the most beautiful decorative details. I was surprised with one this Valentine’s Day and like always, it was absolutely divine. You simply have to try the chocolate cake or any other delicious desserts. You won’t be disappointed.

Ladybird made the cake for our wedding in spring 2025. We highly recommend them! They were great to work with, and the cake was beautiful and delicious. Also, the tasting is a blast — you get to try every combination of their cakes, frostings, and fillings. :)

We just had Ladybird cakes at our wedding and can't recommend them enough! They tasted phenomenal and were VERY reasonably priced when compared to other quotes we got. Ladybird was actually running a sale for the offseason too. It seemed to me that they charge fairly for the ingredients and labor, but don't gouge just because the word “wedding” is involved. We had a great time at the bakery tasting ingredients and building our custom cake. Once we chose our flavors, Melanie did a beautiful job matching the buttercream flowers to our actual flowers. Our secondary cake, a Brooklyn Blackout cake, was one of the best chocolate cakes we've ever had and the chocolate lovers were very happy! The delivery went off without a hitch, and we will be back for some Brooklyn Blackout cake on our anniversary.

Their cakes are stunning! I was blown away when I saw mine. They exceeded my expectations of what a cake could be. I love how they listened to my wishes and brought them to life. Just little regret that I feel like the cake is a little dry and not so fresh, like it was made a day before.

After dropping our son off at college, my husband, other son, and myself went to Brooklyn specifically for this bakery and the Brooklyn Blackout cake. We were NOT disappointed! I also got my mom a small carrot cake. She loved it!! Whenever we're back in NYC, I'll definitely be going here again. The young lady behind the counter was really nice too.

Eileen's Special Cheesecake is a renowned bake shop that has been serving up delectable cheesecakes and other sweet treats since the mid-70s. Located in Nolita, New York City, this iconic establishment offers an array of cheesecake flavors including fruit-topped, nut-topped, and classic varieties. Their 12-slice sampler is perfect for first-time visitors, featuring an assortment of flavors such as chocolate banana, strawberry, blueberry, and more.
I decided to explore all the legendary desserts in New York — after all, I have a sweet tooth, and where better to indulge than NYC? Eileen’s Cheesecake shows up on every list — you simply can’t ignore it if you’re researching the city’s best cheesecakes. It’s a small spot with a charming blue-and-white facade. Inside, it smells a bit like cleaning supplies (they do keep it very clean), with one mirrored wall and another covered in awards and articles. Even though it was closing in less than 30 minutes, the display case was still almost full. Their cheesecakes come in perfectly round shapes, with a flavor for every mood. We tried two: the Original and the Salted Caramel. I was worried about the overly sweet American flavors — but that wasn’t the case here at all! The flavors were well-balanced, and that made the experience even more delightful.
Kristina Z — Google review
Eileen’s Special Cheesecake is a tiny Soho gem with a cheesecake case that reads like a rainbow—every flavor looks better than the last. I went straight for the classics and grabbed cherry, strawberry, and caramel. All three hit the right balance, but the strawberry stole the show with bright fruit that cuts through the cream. What I love is the texture: the graham-cracker crust stays buttery without turning soggy, and the filling is fluffy rather than dense, so it never feels heavy or overly sweet. My only wish is for a hint of crunch in the base to add contrast, but that’s splitting hairs. For a quick cheesecake fix that keeps things light and flavorful, Eileen’s is an easy win.
Maryam — Google review
I recently visited Eileen’s Special Cheesecake in New York and tried their classic cheesecake — and wow, it was absolutely amazing. The texture struck the perfect balance between creamy and light, with just the right amount of richness that didn’t feel heavy. The crust had a subtle crunch that complemented the smooth filling beautifully. What stood out most was the flavor — not overly sweet, but perfectly balanced, letting the tang of the cream cheese really shine through. It’s the kind of cheesecake that feels timeless and comforting, yet still indulgent. If you’re in NYC and love cheesecake (or even if you think you don’t), this spot is a must-visit. The classic alone is worth the trip.

I LOVE Eileen’s cheesecake and I do not like cheesecake! This is something special and next level from 98% of cheesecake made. It’s fresh and the flavors are on point. It’s not too sweet, staff is always pleasant. Been eating here for well over a decade, not disappointed once. My favorite fruit is raspberry, pineapple, strawberry. My favorite non fruit is salted caramel and low sugar. The crust is so delicate. Keep up the great job!
MATTHEW S — Google review
The cheesecake at Eileen's is, without a doubt, the best cheesecake in New York City, in my humble opinion. Unlike the heavy, overly dense cakes you find elsewhere, Eileen's has a remarkably light, fluffy, and creamy texture that melts in your mouth. It's incredibly flavorful, and has a lite taste. Love that you can truly appreciate the quality of the ingredients. The individual-sized cheesecakes are perfect. I ordered strawberry, and salted caramel each individual cost $6.50 each. Customers can purchase bigger size cheesecakes, and Eileen’s ship nationwide. The smaller individual cheesecakes options allow you to try multiple delicious flavors in one visit. From the classic plain, rich salted caramel, fruity strawberry, cherry, and blueberry. The shop on Cleveland Place has a cozy, old-school charm that adds to the experience, and while the space is small, if there is a line, just know, the line moves quickly thanks to the friendly and efficient staff. A visit to Eileen's is a must-do for any cheesecake lover in the city. Eileen’s is a Soho must visit!
World V — Google review
Always a pleasant experience to visit Eileen’s! The staff is always super helpful and friendly. An abundance of options to choose from for personal size cheesecakes and have never been let down. Tried their seasonal pumpkin cheesecake during today’s visit and enjoyed it quite a bit! Would definitely recommend Eileen’s when in the area.

Eileen’s Special Cheesecake 17 Cleveland Pl. New York, NY 10012 Strawberry Classic Plain Cookies N Cream Salted Caramel Appearance: 10/10 Taste: 10/10 Located at the four corner intersection in SoHo is a locally owned specialty cheesecake shop that has been in business for over 50 years. All cheesecakes are handmade daily with no fillers or preservatives. Manager Amanda introduced me to four of the most popular cheesecakes on the menu. As I opened the box, my appetite was filled with joy as I knew I was going to be in for a treat. Strawberry: This pie is topped with a giant strawberry and smothered in strawberry sauce. It was unbelievably fruity and tangy. Classic Plain: This original New York cheesecake was smooth and creamy. If you want to go plain Jane, this pie has your name! Cookies N Cream: This tart was beautifully handcrafted; the mini Oreo cookie added a nice decorative touch. The chocolate graham cracker crust blended well with the cheesecake. Salted Caramel: What makes this pie unique to the others is the hardened creme brulee at the top, giving it a crunchy texture. The dining area is standing room only, but there are plenty of outdoor benches across the street at Lt. Petrosino Square. Be prepared to wait in line, but it moves pretty quickly! Overall, these cheesecakes were phenomenal and I see why this dessert shop has been around for a long time! #cheesecakelovers #eileensspecialcheesecake #eileenscheesecake #cheesecakechallenge #CookiesNCreamCheesecake #classicplaincheesecake #strawberrycheesecake #saltedcaramelcheesecake #CremeBruleeCheesecake #sohonyc
Jeff C — Google review
When people talk about the best cheesecake in NYC, it's usually between this and Junior's I've had Junior's before, and it's my favorite dessert of all time - so I was really looking forward to this place. It was a very high bar, but I think this matches it. Does it exceed it? I don't know, but what I do know is the cheesecake from here is damn good Instead of slices, the cheesecake here is served in mini tarts. This is much smaller than your typical slice, which can be a good or bad thing depending on what you were here for. I liked it because it gave me a chance to eat the whole thing as a snack without feeling too full The cheesecake flavor is outstanding. It's that classic mix of creaminess, slight sourness, and cheesiness that makes this kind of cake what it is. Every bite is just so addicting it's hard to get enough of. These are truly those moments where you sit back, close your eyes, and just let the flavor wash over you. The texture is also perfect. You barely even need to chew (at least for the parts that aren't the crust) - it just melts in your mouth. What's unique about this cheesecake, compared to others, is that the crust goes all the way around the edges, nearly reaching up to the top in some parts. This is very nice because it means that eating from the outside-in, you can get a combination of crust and cake in a lot of bites - way more than if it were just at the bottom. For someone like me who loves the crust on these, this just makes it that much better. It also helps that the graham cracker crust is packed very tightly together, and not crumbly at all. Again, if I'm comparing this to Junior's I would have to say it's a tie for me. I like the actual cheesecake flavor slightly more there, because it's way more dense, but the lightness and fluffiness of Eileen's certainly has its place, and the crust certainly helps. Either way, though, you absolutely can't go wrong with the two best desserts I've ever had. Overall, this again proves that no city does cheesecake like NYC. 9.75/10

Dominique Ansel Bakery, located in SoHo, is a must-visit for those with a sweet tooth. This bakery-cafe, led by the renowned pastry chef Dominique Ansel, offers an array of classic French pastries and unique creations that are exclusive to this establishment. While you may encounter a line at the entrance, the wait is well worth it once you step inside.
This Bakery was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to New York! Crumpets were phenomenal, I ordered the special that had a strawberry cream filling (that I absolutely loved!) but there’s plenty of options available and they all look delicious. Coffee was great as well and they had veggie milks available. Perfect place for a to go order, but definitely worth staying for a while as the place is really cozy and beautiful.

The desserts at Dominique Ansel Bakery were very tasty, and everything we tried was really good. There was a long line, but it was worth the wait. Definitely a spot to visit at least once if you’re in New York!
Rushi J — Google review
Disclaimer: I came near closing time and I’ve heard that there’s a big difference in quality between early visits and late visits, with items tasting better earlier in the day. We got a DKA (Dominique’s kouign amann) and a cronut and it ended up being almost $16. The flavors of the two were good but neither were flaky at all. No flakes to be found. I was very disappointed in the lack of croissant texture. I don’t think I will return as I didn’t enjoy the “must-try” items and it was expensive. The waiter was also nice but the person manning the register was kind of rushing to get us out of the restaurant.

Ansel Bakery is a true NYC classic! Their Cronut is really good, a little too sweet for me, but still delicious. I love their cookie shot with the milk inside! There’s plenty of seating toward the back, which is nice. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit. Definitely worth checking out at least once, they have lots of other great treats too!
Karina V — Google review
Dominique Ansel Bakery in Soho continues to live up to the hype. I popped in for a quick treat and left completely delighted. The almond croissant had just come out of the oven about an hour earlier and was honestly perfection—crispy on the outside, delicately layered, and filled with rich almond paste that wasn’t overly sweet. Every bite had that just-right balance of texture and flavor. A special shoutout to Chapel, who went above and beyond. I mentioned loving the extra toasted almond bits that fall off the top, and without missing a beat, she added a handful to my bag. That small, thoughtful gesture made my visit feel personal and warm. Great pastries, even better service—I’ll definitely be back.

While traveling around Manhattan, hitting some bakeries and coffee shops, I stopped in at Dominique Ansel. It came highly recommended, and is the home of the original cronut, so I knew it had to be on the list to visit. There was quite a selection of options, and the cronut was pretty special. They even had a cute little outdoor garden space to sit and enjoy our food. It took them a while to get us everything we ordered, but all in all, I'd recommend giving it a try if you're in the area.
Eddy G — Google review
TLDR: 3.5 stars, liked the cronut texture but didn’t get the flavor. Cookie shot is good but also fairly expensive I liked the texture of the cronut, like a thin deep fried doughnut. However I didn’t know what the flavor on top of the cronut was, it didn’t taste like anything specific. The cookie made into a cylinder with some vanilla milk inside was a fun play on cookies and milk but for almost $7, seemed a bit costly as well.
Wilson T — Google review
Can't say enough about how friendly and kind their staffs are. Beautiful, beautiful place. You dont realize it until you walk all the way to the back and you see an oasis. Plenty of sitting areas for you to enjoy indoor and outdoor while you enjoy your delicious food/desserts. We had to try their chocolate chip cookie cup with milk in it. Wow! What an unique idea. It was so soft and tasty.

Amy's Bread is a popular bakery and cafe located in Hells Kitchen, offering a variety of artisanal breads, sandwiches, pastries, and beverages for dine-in or takeout. Since 1992, this charming spot has been serving up delightful French-style pastries, cakes, breads, and cupcakes. It's conveniently situated between the Space Museum and Times Square.
I visited Amy’s Bread around 9:00 am and loved how peaceful it was with no crowd at that time. I ordered a coffee and their pistachio croissant braid, and both were absolutely delicious! The bakery had a cozy and quiet atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to start the day.

This place had the friendliest service. The older gentleman behind the counter was so nice, answered all my questions, and even let us wash our hands behind the bar. The pistachio croissant was amazing, the bagel was great, and the cinnamon challah bread was delicious. The muffin was solid, and the banana cake was like a super moist banana bread. We bought some sourdough to go, and he even threw in a couple of baguettes for us! It's a really cute little bakery with plenty of seating in the back. Oh, and the sticky bun was heavenly.
Reid R — Google review
Tried the pistachio croissant twist at Amy’s Bread—flaky, buttery, and perfectly layered with a rich pistachio flavor. Sweet but balanced, with a delightful crunch and soft center. Pairs perfectly with coffee and captures that classic artisanal bakery charm.
Flora — Google review
Amy's Bread is within the Chelsea Market (see photos), on 9th Avenue between 15th and 16th Streets. Taxis are easily accessible from there to get you to your next destination. I had the banana cake ($7.08 including tax) which, as a whole, was very good. The flavor of the cake had a pleasing banana taste (as it should), while the white frosting, which was tasty, did not enhance the cake because its pleasing flavor was strong and blocked out the flavor of the cake when the two were together on the fork. The few nuts on top of it had no taste. A few weeks later I tried their butterscotch cashew bar, pictured ($5.00). The butterscotch flavor was strong and pleasing, but there was almost no contrast of flavor with the cashews because most of them had no recognizable flavor, as was with the nuts on the banana cake mentioned above. I tried their Hell's Kitchen bakery (9th Avenue at about 47th Street), on February 28th, 2025, it was very disappointing. Their sticky bun WAS, many years ago, considered to be one of the best. NOW, I think that it is one of the poorest versions. The sticky and tasty flavor was only on the top of the bun, the rest was close to flavorless. Their tuna sandwich on that day was the most unrecognizably flavored tuna sandwich I have ever had (rate it 0).

Amy’s Bread was a must try since I’m a huge fan of anything sourdough. Overall, it wasn’t my best costumer serving experience or waiting time for ordering and paying but the product was very tasty and earned a 3 star. The cinnamon raisin bagel was decent and tastes great with cream cheese.
Arely E — Google review
Have been here twice. It always smells fresh and there a variety of options. Have gotten the olive bread, was decent. Also got the challah twist knot, it was fresh and nice. Would like to try the desserts for sure the next time.
Bhakti D — Google review
Service was friendly. I was expecting to smell the scent of fresh baked bread or pastries when I walked in but sadly I didn't. Maybe this is a telltale sign.... I have heard so much about this bakery that I was excited to visit and try their goodies. Unfortunately, it was just ok. Nothing spectacular. The oat scone looked really good but it was on the dry side. Flavorwise it reminded me of the fall. The olive twist had a nice chew but was on the salty side for my personal tastes. I am glad to have tried but would not go out of my way to come back unfortunately.

Veniero's Pasticceria & Caffe is a bustling Italian bakery that has been in operation since 1894. Located in New York City, this establishment is known for its delectable cannoli and coffee, all enjoyed beneath a stunning stained-glass ceiling. In addition to these signature offerings, the bakery also boasts an extensive selection of pastries including tarts, cream puffs, cakes, and more.
Veniero’s is hands-down one of the best dessert spots in NYC. Every visit feels like stepping into a sweet little piece of history. Their Fruit Tart is an absolute showstopper. The buttery crust is perfectly crisp, the custard is silky smooth, and the fresh fruit on top is always vibrant and bursting with flavor. It’s as beautiful as it is delicious. But the real star for me was the Fruit Cheesecake. Creamy, rich, and just the right amount of sweetness, it strikes the perfect balance. The fresh fruit topping adds a refreshing, tangy contrast to the dense, luscious cheesecake base. It’s one of those desserts you dream about days later. Service is friendly, and the old-school charm of the place makes it feel warm and welcoming. This place is an East Village gem. Whether you're grabbing something to-go or sitting down for a coffee and dessert, you can't go wrong .

It’s a very classy cafe, the decor is beautiful it transport you directly in the late 1800s. The place is huge and you have a ton of option for pastries. We got the carrot cake and strawberry cheese cake, both were excellent and fresh. The service was quick and good. We totally recommend this place if you are around.
Ju&Lin — Google review
We were looking for some dessert for after dinner and this place was closed by. We had some apple mince pie, a slice of tart, a puff pastry with fresh cream and strawberries and affogato. I think some of the dessert like mince pie should be warm up for it to taste good. The Affogato was a bit small and the tart was extremely sweet with no other flavours to cut it. Overall, big place with many seats and a great varieties of dessert to choose from!

Italian place that serves lots of different cakes and pastries. We had american cream cheese cake, red velvet, cannoli and some drinks. The cakes were absolutely amazing, and my espresso martini was also great. The classic italian decor really added to the whole experience.
Deborah — Google review
TL;DR: Classic East Village bakery with tons of variety priced by weight. Great to grab a mixed box after dinner. Consistent quality and fair prices. I go every trip. Veniero’s is my go to pastry stop in NYC. You can mix and match minis instead of committing to one big cannoli. I like the fruit tarts, the chocolate chip dome, and the small layered cakes. Everything has been fresh and not overly sweet. The vibe is old school New York with long glass cases and a steady crowd. It gets busy at night, but the line moves. Prices feel fair for the quality. Pro tip: build a small box so you can taste a few different things. Easy walk-over stop after drinks or dinner, and you can usually eat outside if it is not packed. Staple spot.

my friend wanted tiramisu for his birthday so i searched for the best in the city & veniero’s came up. my friend was familiar with the place but had never gone so we’re decided to give them a try. the vibe is very cozy but busy pastry counter with an amazing selection. the tiramisu changed his life, & now when he thinks of tiramisu this is the one he’ll picture! i also tried the chocolate mousse which was yummo!
Muva H — Google review
We visited Veniero’s and picked up a box of pastries. The strawberry tarts were fresh and creamy, and the cannoli with pistachios was delicious. What I really liked is that the desserts weren’t overly sweet, and the small size makes it easy to try different kinds at once. Everything looked beautiful and felt homemade.

The cakes and pastries here are outstanding, but the biscotti are very average. The almond and sesame were good, the others were not particularly flavorful. It was $6.5 for three cookies if you eat in the dining room.

Oh my gosh....my sister had a custom cake made for my birthday, and when I tell you I was shocked I was literally speechless from our server bringing the cake out till they finished singing happy birthday. For context, I make grommet headbands and so my sister showed Empire my headband instagram and they came up with this masterpiece. The black part looks exactly like the headbands I make, and the combination of my sister having this made plus the Empire staff bringing the vision to life (and perfection) made me feel so loved and happy. On top of that, my sister made sure it was carrot cake (my favorite) and it was one of the best carrot cakes I've ever had. I couldn't have had a better birthday and that's because of this cake<3 THANK YOU EMPIRE! If you want to check out my headbands lol my instagram is @gromaenyc !!!

When I went to pickup my cake a day before, I almost had a heart attack when I saw the handwriting and I’m glad I had decided to open the box at the store. When I brought it up, they immediately fixed it to cursive and more aesthetic inscription. We chose the lilikoi flavor (passion fruit) and it was very fresh and delicious. We had a few friends coming over later and they all enjoyed. I wish they had the option to add the inscription with the same frosting color, but white was good enough, and I appreciate that they followed this ask when adding the note online. I would order from here again.

Always an amazing cake or two on display in the window. Went near closing on a bad weather night and store had good amount of customers before and after me so very popular. The two servers were helpful and friendly. Enjoyed a few cupcakes. Really liked their frosting - not overly sweet.

I ordered 12 of the cupcakes (one of each flavor) . One slice of strawberry one slice of vanilla of the cakes A black and white cookie, a Twix, a Swiss roll, a rainbow layer, chocolate chip chunk large and regular size and the frosting filled chocolate chip cookie. I also ordered the rainbow spritz an orange shortbread and i forgot the name of the one that has two small 1.5 inch cookies pressed together with a thin i think leche filling. I’m a home processor cottage bakery baker, i make baked goods in brooklyn- and so i go to bakeries and buy all the things i would want to bake myself to taste what’s happening out there. Empire cake absolutely is HAPPENING out there!!! (I mean it’s been doing that for a while now I’m just totally late to the game) The cake in the vanilla cake and strawberry cake has a beautiful taste and texture. The strawberry frosting is delicious. The vanilla frosting also delicious though it didn’t kick my socks off as much as the strawberry. Each cupcake was its own mini experience of happiness baked in a wrapper and frosted to perfection.

Founded by Umber Ahmad in 2014, this establishment has gained recognition for its exceptional cheesecake and The Devil in Ganache chocolate cake.
Stumbled into this bakery on a rainy nyc Saturday. The line was long but we got through it quickly. There is additional seating in the hallway in the back. The owner is so friendly and you can tell they really care about customer experience. We will be back again and again for years to come!

Not what it used to be. Maybe my memory betrays me, but this old-fashioned donut is way sweeter and greasier than a few years ago. It’s contrary to Mah-Ze-Dahr’s philosophy of “not too sweet”. I stopped coming here because they never had the old-fashioned donuts whenever I visited—the brioche donuts are not a substitute. I was ecstatic to see it in the display case as it has been years since I had it, but it’s just not the same. Still pretty good though.

In a world that moves too fast, this little coffee shop feels like a beautiful pause. The beans they use are of the finest quality — rich, aromatic, and full of character. Every cup is crafted with such care that it feels less like a routine and more like a small ritual. The baristas greet you not just with skill, but with genuine kindness, making each visit a reminder that good coffee and good people make all the difference. This has become my daily sanctuary, a place where my coffee break turns into a moment of inspiration and energy to embrace the day ahead. Grateful to have such a gem in the neighborhood!

Their hospitality is unmatched! We placed an order for coffee and dessert and there was some confusion regarding the coffee order and they didn’t ring us up for it. And when we asked, they just gave it to us on the house despite us offering to pay! After paying for our order, we decided to buy their famous donut.. which they also gave on the house. This kind of service and hospitality are rare and create a strong sense of customer loyalty. Their taste is as hyped but 20/10 marks for warmth and hospitality

Paid $5.17 for a cappuccino that’s not listed on menu. Small cup but nice flavor & aroma. Pastry selection is a bit limited. Looked like most customers came for the coffee. Cozy spot but unfortunately no restroom for an indoor cafe. There is also outdoor seating which appeared quite comfortable under shaded umbrellas. Service was quick with no wait… AVERAGE I say

Beautiful cafe on the west side of Greenpoint on a nice street. The sourdough bagel is airier than a regular bagel, With fixings, I think the lack of density can be a little missing. Next time I'd probably just do the bagel with cream cheese. I liked the ham and cheese focaccia especially when I warmed it up on a skillet rotating the surface that touched the bottom. That I do recommend although you should have an appetite. It's a heavy item, very heavy.

I rarely leave reviews, but I felt I had to share my experience today 3-3:30PM. I came to pick up a birthday cake I had ordered three weeks in advance for someone very special to me. I chose this bakery because of its great reputation for healthy, gluten-free cakes—and I was genuinely looking forward to trying it. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the service I received. When I walked in, I greeted the staff warmly with a smile and a “hello.” The woman behind the counter asked for my pickup name, and I gave it—adding that it was for a cake I had pre-ordered. She immediately cut me off and said, “I only asked for your name,” with a smirk, as if I had said something wrong. It felt unnecessarily rude, but I chose to stay polite and move on. What really upset me was what happened next. As she was handing me the cake, it suddenly tilted heavily to one side and nearly slipped out of the box. I had to catch it quickly with my own hands to keep it from toppling over completely. Despite this, she didn’t apologize or check to see if the cake was okay. She simply said, “Don’t worry, it’s fine,” and handed it over as if nothing had happened. Because of the tilt, the glitter decoration—which I had paid extra for—ended up smudged all over the clear part of the cake box. Because I was leaving for the out of town right after, I didn’t have time to request a replacement—but I left the store feeling very upset and disappointed. I also politely asked if they had a plastic knife I could use to cut the cake, and again, her response was dismissive and mocking. She laughed and said, “I’ve never heard of that,” as if it were a ridiculous question. I completely understand if they don’t provide plastic knives—but there’s a respectful way to say that without belittling the customer or comparing other bakeries in a sarcastic tone. And just to clarify, many bakeries do offer plastic knives for convenience—so it wasn’t an unreasonable question at all. I don’t know what kind of day she was having or why she felt the need to treat a customer this way—but for someone picking up a cake for a special occasion, it left a really bitter impression. This one interaction had the power to ruin what should’ve been a joyful and meaningful moment. For a place with such a strong reputation, I hope the management considers the impact staff attitude can have on a customer’s experience. No matter how good the product may be, the service still matters.

Working with Ovenly for our wedding cake was such a breeze! The ease started when they accommodated specific delivery instructions for the cupcake tasters. It went smooth and every taster was AMAZING! We emailed with Lynn and ordered our chocolate Stout with Raspberry filing cake. Around a week before our wedding we were able to add some cupcakes without a problem for non-chocolate loving friends. Lynn was understanding and answered quickly when I checked in just to make sure delivery was set the week before because I was being an anxious bride. Everything was delivered with no issue to the wedding venue day of. Everyone LOVED the cake and cupcakes. People across the room could smell the amazing dark chocolate stout cake once we did the first cut. We got asked for the bakery multiple times. The 12 inch fed a room of ~55 with enough left over for our 1 year anniversary piece to freeze. We loved working with Ovenly and plan on being returning customers for future events.

Ovenly is a solid dessert location with a variety of unique cakes, cookies and cupcakes. We tried the hot chocolate cookie and Brooklyn Blackout cupcake, both of which were tasty and not as overly sweet as some desserts. They use beer in the making of the Brooklyn Blackout, which added some unique flavor to the cupcake.

Friends and I planned a challenge to visit the best cookies in NYC. Ovenly was our first stop and we came here for its Salted Peanut Butter and the Daily Special - Salted Almond Chocolate Chunk. The Peanut Butter was one of our top 3, soft inside with strong PB smell and crunchy outside. The size was perfect for individuals. The Almond Chocolate Chunk was too salty on the layer and off balance with almond & chocolate. We also got a Ham & Cheese Croissant to share since it looked so appetizing in the display. However, even with our request to heat it up, the croissant was still served cold. It tasted not as good as what we expected. The decor was artsy and adorable with cozy ambiance, so we enjoyed our stay there (dining outside) even in a cold weather.

The stars of the show are definitely the pastries, baked goods, and desserts but I ordered a savory avocado toast in my last visit to Hani’s and it was truly exquisite, probably the only avocado toast in the entire city that’s actually worth the price. It was presented so beautifully that I hesitated eating it, but it was just as delicious as it looked. I love this cafe. The vibes, atmosphere, music, service, everything - is top notch.

This area bustles with many bakeries and we did a bakery crawl starting here first! The place is super cute and small as well. It has extra seating just outside Food : We tried their famous cinnamon bun and it was good. The bread was super soft and the flavours was lovely. The only thing that didn’t work was that it was too sweet. The cream on top was yum but too sugary Service and wait : Even though there was a long line and too many customers, the line moved quick and the staff was super sweet and helpful. Ambience : Small quaint place and with limited seating inside. Overall a good bakery with not just cinnamon roll but pies, pudding and cakes.

Second time going go Hani’s bakery. Went early enough to get the cinnamon bun. I was underwhelmed. Loved the icing but not the actual bun. Very good portion though, it’s huge. Could barely finish it. I did love the raspberry loaf. Had the triple chunk cookie the first time I went and it was just okay. Limited seating. So be prepared to take out.

Best salmon toast I've ever had! Fluffy and crunchy bread fresh ingredients and topping go really well together. Cinnamon bun light fluffy and sweet. Delicious food and worth the hype. Friendly and helpful staff.

Service here is amazing! Staff is super nice but the food was okay. I got the carrot cake and the flavors of the cake were nice. But the cake overall was a little dry for a carrot cake. Also I wouldn't go out of my way to make the trip go to this place. The prices are a lil expensive for what they deliver. It is hard to compete with other pastry shops that offer better with the same price range. For this price point I expected a little more because it wasn't anything to write home about. I hope they get better in the future!

Breads Bakery is a spacious and bright bakery located in the heart of Union Square, NYC. Co-founded by Gadi Peleg and baker Uri Scheft, this bakery is known for its carefully crafted artisan breads and pastries. The menu includes legendary chocolate babka, decadent rugelachs, dense brownies, beautiful challah, and other delightful treats.
Popular bakery on the ground floor of an apartment complex. Fragrant even before you step in, it’s bustling with visitors in line to check out. Frequently restocked shelves of different pastries. The palmiers here were a lovely treat to get, petite but full of buttery sweet flavor. Staff are prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. It’s fast paced inside but wonderful to smell everything.

Very tempting butter aroma, the croissant was really good, with almond filling inside and a cookie-like crispy outside. Maybe the croissant was so good that the cinnamon roll looked ordinary. The store also sells sandwiches, lunch salads and soups, with a lot of choices. It is a bakery that has won many awards, I will come back to buy croissants and try other foods.

Signs announcing that this bakery has been awarded best baguette and best croissant are all over the walls of this bakery with good reason. Upon entering, you’re confronted with a really mesmerizing display of breads and pastries, and the bakers in-store are happy to discuss their products and help you make a selection. Because I am limited to the confines of my human organs, I could not eat everything and picked an almond croissant and a chocolate rugelach. The almond filling was delicious and smooth, and nothing was too sweet: completely perfect. I’m a little traditional with rugelach, and I think this felt a little more like a mini chocolate croissant to me, but it was delicious nonetheless! Will be returning.

Total waste of money. Insane you buy an almond croissant and you get neither of the distinctive traits that makes a pastry an almond croissant: the studded almond crust on top, and the almond filling inside. My crust had literally two tiny flakes of an almond. That’s it. 2 shavings. And absolutely nothing inside. Even as a basic croissant this sucked, it was flat and had no lift or air inside. Staff were nice but they can’t save this total disappointment of a pastry. Edit: In response to the reply, there was nothing inside. Zoom in on the pics and judge for yourself.

Thank you! Truly. Thanks for not making me late for work this morning. I saved $12 and got a healthy breakfast from my work fridge instead. Win-win. I usually stop by 2–6 times a week for the carb-loaded goodness. Lately, though, I’ve discovered a new perk here: the staff’s talent for such engaging conversations with each other that customers at the register become invisible. Watching 4–5 staff members ignore you on your way to work is… impressive. I leave with money still in my pocket and arrive at work on time. I’m starting to think this might be the best deal in town.

Went to the Union Square location- lives up to its reputation as a go-to spot for artisan breads and delectable sandwiches. We started with their sourdough bread to go, which is a standout. The slow-fermented organic sourdough had a perfect balance of tangy flavor and a chewy, airy crumb, encased in a golden crust. If you’re a sourdough enthusiast, this is a must-try. The olive and cheese breadsticks were another highlight. And we also got croissant and palmiers were superhit. They were a fantastic snack on their own. We sat and I ordered the egg salad sandwich. My wife ordered the roasted bell peppers sandwich with cream cheese on sourdough bread was the star of the meal. The roasted bell peppers were sweet and smoky, paired beautifully with the rich, tangy cream cheese. The sourdough bread provided a sturdy yet soft base that soaked up the flavors without falling apart. The combination was simple yet executed with such precision that every bite was a delight. The staff was friendly and efficient, making the experience even more enjoyable. Prices are on the higher side, as expected for an artisan bakery in NYC, but the quality justifies the cost.

Bakery
Billy's Bakery is a popular bakery with multiple locations in Manhattan, offering a variety of cakes, cupcakes, pies, and cheesecakes. The bakery is known for its modern and old-fashioned classic cakes like Confetti, Bourbon Salted Caramel, and the retro Pineapple Upside Down Cake. Despite its unassuming appearance, the Pineapple Upside Down Cake boasts rich flavors with a burnt-sugar bite from being baked in a cast iron pan.
Fantastic experience! I called the bakery to ask about getting a cake with custom frosting, and the two guys who answered were incredibly kind, helpful, and informative. They made everything so easy over the phone. I stopped by later that day (April 8th around 6:30pm), and within 10 minutes, I had my cake picked out and the custom message frosted exactly how I wanted it. Customer service was truly top-notch - both of the staff members were professional, warm, and efficient. I ended up choosing the banana cake with cream cheese, and it was beyond my expectations. So delicious! Thank you for the great service and the amazing cake. So grateful to have found this place!

We ordered a heart-shaped cake in the Crowd Pleaser for our wedding and it was absolutely perfect! Been there twice in 1 week, while spending the holidays in NY with my family. The staff is so nice and friendly, and you can really taste authentic American pastries - cupcakes, cheesecake, pies of any kind, brownies and sì much more. As an Italian, I strongly recommend it!

When I showed up with this cake, which was already a surprise for the special guest, she immediately saw the bag and was ecstatic to see it was from Billy's Bakery. They depicted Miffy perfectly, and the taste was also spot on! Would definitely order with BB again in the future for any occasion!

Nestled in the vibrant Lower East Side of Manhattan, Sugar Sweet Sunshine Bakery has been delighting dessert enthusiasts since its inception in 2003. This charming bakery is a haven for cupcake lovers, offering an array of flavors that include the classic Sunshine Cupcake with its delightful vanilla cake and buttercream frosting. Beyond cupcakes, visitors can indulge in cookies, banana pudding, and even vegan options.
I picked up 20 Vegan cupcakes (3 different flavors) for a small event I was having for my husband’s birthday. I order the fully chocolate, the black/white cupcakes and plain vanilla. The cupcakes were delicious and everyone loved them. Mind you I’m the only Vegan and wanted to see how people felt about them before sharing they were Vegan. I will definitely be ordering from them in the near future. Lastly, the employee that handed me the order on Friday evening, he seemed really nice and bubbly!

Chloe — Google review
Friendly staff, pretty cool variety of pudding flavors, of which you can get one free small spoon taste (sweet stuff!). Cupcakes also not bad to very good, although best to ask them which are the freshest, as I think a pistachio I bought and ate right after purchase was noticeably a little drier than what I think good cake should be, vs a chocolate one also from that same day that I ate 48 hours later (amazingly surviving through plane flights). I didn’t ask if they were baked at the same time, but the man did mention that if I came back the next day, a new batch wouldn’t be ready til 3 or 4pm, which is why I bought that evening instead.

This place is amazing! I called the morning-of needing a vegan chocolate cake big enough to feed 10 people for later that night. The cake was ready in a few hours and it was DELICIOUS. They seriously helped me out and I will definitely be coming back to try new flavors (and ordering in advance this time lol)

Love this place. Love the fact I can have vegan cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies here. Coffee (we’re talking classic brew here) and tea for $1,- is a wonderful add-on to all the sweetness. Various yummy-looking desserts (you’ll have to try them for me😉). Moved to Grand street, it’s more visible and accessible. Now get over here and have yourself a sweet time🩷
Madeleine L — Google review
Ran over to this bakery for some sweet treats just before they closed. I’ve been dying to taste the pistachio cupcakes and pound cake. I ended up ordering 2 pistachio cupcakes and 1 lemon cupcake ( they were closing and didn’t have enough time to decide). Upon tasting all the cupcake I will say I thought it was all just OK. Good but just ok. I didn’t like the sprinkles and glitter added to each of the cupcakes and I wasn’t a fan of what tasted like marshmallow icing on the pistachio cupcakes. Now the lemon cupcake was great. More my cupcake speed minus the sprinkle and glitter. I can definitely go for another lemon cupcake sometime in the future. There is a pudding refrigerator in the back with really nice layers of flavor that I’d love to try on another visit . The bakery doesn’t have a lot of seating and the staff are really nice. The pricing is also reasonable for the city. I will try to return soon.

I came here in my childhood days for their renowned banana pudding and didn't think I'd end up visiting again for an entirely different request so many years later. I ordered a vegan dark chocolate cake with mocha filling and my friend absolutely loved it! Peggy was very patient & accommodating on the phone and via email to make sure the cake would come out exactly how I wanted.

Update (8/16): went with the ooey gooey today and was not disappointed. Also had a chance to visit the new(ish) location on Grand (note that it moved last September from its Rivington St location). And a blessing to see both co-owners in the shop today! *** I am so happy I stumbled upon this wonderful bakery at least ten years ago. While I lived in the City, I trekked down to the Lower East Side often just to get what I consider the best cupcake in NYC: Sugar Sweet Sunshine's spicy pumpkin. The bakery is appropriately named, as it fills you with happiness and the food equivalent of sunshine. The cupcakes - unlike most of the famous ones in the City - will remind you of the ones that moms used to make for birthday parties while we were all in primary school. The women who own this spot are true gems, and I'm so happy to see it still thriving. Go support it, and you will not be disappointed.

Bakery
Levain Bakery, located in the Upper West Side of New York City, is a beloved neighborhood spot known for its freshly baked goods. The bakery offers a variety of rustic breads and is particularly famous for its six-ounce chocolate chip walnut cookie. Baked on-site daily using high-quality natural ingredients, the cookies are described as "absolute units" and are larger than those found at other bakeries.
Quite large, upper price range, gourmet cookies that are served warm. They’re more of a special occasion treat, or a gift for others, than a regular occurrence. When you order online, you still need to wait in line, so there’s really not much time savings.

Absolutely amazing cookies! This bakery offers an incredible variety of flavors, each one more tempting than the last. You can really taste the artisanal quality — every bite feels handcrafted with care and passion. The texture, flavor, and freshness are just perfect. Really good!! So decadent and satisfying. I heard the chocolate chip walnut cookie is the thing to get and it did not disappoint.
Vivian N — Google review
I was honnetly a bit let down by Levains. I just felt the cookies were not balanced in flavor and not a texture I enjoy. The magnolia was doughy, not goey, and didnt have much of a savory note and the oatmeal was the same but even drier and didnt have much oatmeal in it.
Josh — Google review
I got one chocolate chip walnut cookie and one s’mores cookie. Both were really good, and seemed like they were baked recently. I also got a cold brew coffee which was very acidic. This made it hard to drink, I ended up throwing it out.
Cassandra M — Google review
This is a clean, spacious and welcoming bakery, which boasts terrific products. Despite its elegance, it simultaneously offers a down-to-earth feel. My friend and I dropped by there a couple of months ago, in the AM hours...it was about 9 AM on a Sunday. And I'm sorry that I didn't get the name of the young lady at the front who served us, as she was very sweet and professional. Yet with that said, the main takeaway here is not actually their ambiance, vibes or even lovely staff members. The main takeaway, Cookie Monster, is their SWEETS!! LOL They make and sell absolutely wonderful, and I mean *wonderful* cookies. : ) Sure, they are pricey, but treats like this should not come cheap. Because, from my limited lived experience (yet speaking as someone with a true "sweet tooth"), they're the best in town. These decadent cookies melt in your mouth. And, from what I can taste, no amount of butter is spared in making them. They are 100% goodness, with goodness being an understatement! So, the next time you walk by a Levain Bakery and you need a gift -- for yourself or someone else! -- don't hesitate to buy the best for the best. A tin of their cookies makes for both an aesthetically pleasing and tummy~satisfying gift. Enjoy! In Cookie Heaven, Kat

Delicious cookies! Big, soft and full of flavor. Prices are great and the place is very pretty. I ordered four cookies, three dark chocolate chip cookies and one adding peanut butter. A cramped, claustrophobic little bar, quintessential NYC sort of place. The drinks are reasonably priced and the desserts are delicious. The bartenders are friendly and service is quick. I've been back a few times, and everything I've had here is great. They make their own sodas which are a must try.

Tiny but beautiful (and very quirky) women-owned bar/bakery serving up interesting cocktails, boozy shakes and delicious cakes. The S'mores pie was one of the tastiest sweet things I've ever had, and so rich that one slice would be enough for two people. My husband had a chocolate milkshake and then added the booze of his choice and drank every last drop.
Stéphanie T — Google review
I really wanted to love everything here, but alas, it's a hit or miss. The cocktail of the day (which I don't even know what they put in) was delicious. The key lime pie was delicious. The Ms. Yamaguchi cocktail was barely palatable. I actually wanted to throw up after every sip. The tapioca were hard as rocks, I couldn't even chew them. The cakes, both birthday cake and hot line bling... Man, I really wanted to like them especially since my best friend who's also a foodie really hyped them up as the best cake ever, but I couldn't eat more than 2 bites and I'm a big sweets person. Both cakes were really dense. That might be a personal preference thing, but I dislike dense cakes. Might as well call it bread pudding or fudge at that point. =\

The bakery's classic offerings include Carrot Cake, Red Velvet, and the renowned 'Brooklyn Blackout' four-layer chocolate cake.
Best cheesecake I’ve ever eaten, so creamy on the inside, crust is thin and delicious on the outside, the cheese flavor is light, fresh, not overwhelming & like sex in your mouth. Never fails. The cupcakes are alright, a bit too moist & oily for me. But most people love them that way I guess. The chocolate pecan pie was good too.

I went there, and I have to say I had the best chocolate cake I’ve ever had in my life, the service was excellent, even though I could see straight through the people I think they were ghosts however, the cobweb chocolate cake was fantastic! Which led me to believe that they closed a few years ago after reading all the reviews. I hope what I ate was chocolate cake. Service was a little lackluster.

This is such a quaint cute little bakery. They have all kinds of incredible cake and cupcake flavors you could imagine - PB, blackout chocolate, coconut, carrot cake, banana walnut and more. They are also known for their cheesecake! The line could get long, but it always moves quickly. Everything is so tasty. Large cupcakes are $3-4, mini cupcakes are $1.75 each. I highly recommend the peanut butter chocolate cupcake!!
Nicole Q — Google review
Love this shop! Got their cheesecake, Brooklyn blackout cupcake(mini) and a slice of pie. The cupcake was good, very moist and yummy, but too sweet for me. Glad that I got the mini ones instead of the bigger size. As for the pie, it was not impressive. A little on the sweeter side, but good. I love their cheesecake! It was very unique: really dense and heavy, and is only slightly sweet. You can taste how well the cheese-flavor comes in this piece. Highly recommended! Love this place overall, would love to come back and try more.

#1 spot in NYC for carrot cake. After trying countless places, this is the best carrot cake I've ever had. The cream cheese frosting is exquisite and the cake is always moist. They are a little pricey, but worth every single cent. For carrot cake, I recommend the small cake over the cupcakes because the proportion of frosting to cake is better.

Lysée is a charming dessert shop that offers a fusion of Korean and French-inspired pastries, including viennoiserie, patisserie, and gâteaux de voyage. The ambiance is exquisite with top-notch service and friendly staff. The Lysee cake stands out as a favorite due to its well-combined flavors and textures. Other popular choices include the Petit Jardin for its refreshing calamansi flavor and the unique Buckwheat Hot Chocolate with its distinctive nutty taste.
Lysée, created by a Michelin-starred chef, is truly one of Manhattan’s gems. The dessert gallery feels like edible art - each piece is light, elegant, and never overly sugary. The croissants are the best I’ve ever had in my life - perfectly flaky, buttery, and unforgettable. The space is boutique-style, clean, and refreshingly non-commercialized. Deserts are available to-go. Seating is limited and the tables are small, but that only adds to its intimate charm. Service on my visit was excellent, even though I’ve seen mixed reviews. Overall, Lysée has become my absolute favorite bakery in Manhattan - a place where artistry and flavor come together in every bite.
Lana B — Google review
My top picks are the Signature Mousse Cake Lysée – the roasted Korean brown rice mousse brings a lovely nutty crunch, paired with pecan and praline, and a touch of savory cream that keeps it rich yet not heavy – and the Corn Mousse Cake, which is playful in presentation and luxuriously smooth in taste. Portions are just right for two to share, especially since both lean slightly savory. Seating is limited with small tables; on weekdays it’s fine, but for weekends, booking ahead is a smart move. The price is on the higher side, but those two cakes are worth every bite.
E. Y — Google review
If you're looking for a truly memorable dessert outing in NYC, Lysée is a must-visit. From the moment you walk in, the space strikes you with its minimalist elegance — part art gallery, part pastry boutique. The desserts themselves are next-level, blending French technique with Korean-inspired flavors and New York We loved the Corn mousse cake, which literally looks like an ear of corn and tastes delightfully nuanced rather than just sweet. Another favorite is the signature brown rice mousse cake, featuring toasted Korean brown rice mousse, caramel and pecan sablé — rich yet refined. We tried the dessert tasting but felt we could have just got individual desserts instead of that. I'd recommend reserving in advance
Sravani R — Google review
Gorgeous bakery with gorgeous and delicious pastries. The best are definitely the Lysee cake(?) and Corn cake(?). They also have a flower shaped shortbread(?) with chocolate cream that was buttery and delicious. Fruit tarts (peach and mango) were great but not really my thing. Chocolate *is* my thing and the V.I.C. was rich and decadent. The croissant with ice cream on top was phenomenal. I wish I’d taken photos of it all - we shared most of it and didn’t get a chance for some of it.
Em C — Google review
An artful experience. The presentation is stunning. Everything looks like something you’d see in a design magazine or art gallery. They don’t just go wild trying to shock people with looks. The corn dessert actually tastes like corn — sweet + vegetal + with depth. And the textures are well balanced: mousse/cream + crunch from sable or crunch layers. It’s a brand new dessert experience, we really enjoyed it.
Eve C — Google review
Overall, the breads were unique and interesting, and the welcome drink was refreshing and very enjoyable. The pairing of bread with the three sauces was well-balanced, and I could see why it is so famous. However… When I made a reservation for the $60 per person bread omakase, run by fellow Koreans, I specifically requested a comfortable seat for my wife since she is pregnant. Yet we were seated at a hard chair table instead of a sofa table. In addition, while other tables had their water (free) refilled regularly, since we ordered sparkling water, we did not receive the same service. Moreover, I found it disappointing from a hygiene perspective that the head chef, who is also the owner, was standing at the counter where the breads were displayed ready-to-serve, laughing and chatting with guests directly over the food.
Jay P — Google review
These desserts are edible art! The flavors were tasty, subtle and unique, though I usually prefer sweeter desserts. The Bellocq tea paired perfectly. It’s definitely expensive, but worth it for a special occasion!
Melissa M — Google review
The restaurant itself is beautiful and the service was excellent - such friendly and attentive staff! It’s definitely on the pricey side, more so than is expected for Manhattan even. We ordered the signature menu which included 4 desserts for about $80 including tip. The corn mousse was my personal favorite but my friend loved the peach tart! I would recommend swapping out the normal kouigin amann for the one with ice cream if you’re also ordering the signature menu. The gallery upstairs is mostly a photo op but also provides a live inventory of items before you order. Definitely make a reservation if you plan to eat here as there are only about 5 tables inside total. I’m happy we went to explore and the desserts were delicious, even though it could be a better value for the price!

Got the six inch signature for a relative visiting from outside US. Not sure if it’s just me or maybe this branch but the cream was so noticeably thick that 3/4 persons noted that it was too thick. For the price I expect Lady M quality. There are a lot of copy cat crepe cakes now a days and they all use too much cream. So disappointed in the quality of the Cake since Lady Ms is one of few desserts in nyc that strives for perfection.

I’m obsessed with these cakes! You’re truly missing out if you don’t try them. They’re not overly sweet, incredibly soft, creamy, and just melt in your mouth. While this place doesn’t serve coffee or have seating, there’s a food court just one floor down via the escalator where you can grab any coffee you like, sit down, and enjoy these amazing desserts. Signature and pistachio are my favorite.

Really really disappointed. I have brought and loved the cakes at Lady M. However I ordered delivery for 3 cakes and the packaging was really upsetting. Due to shoving three cakes into one cake box, the flavors were merged together and the Tiramisu Millie-crepe cake was pressed and tilted. Leaving cream all over the bottom of the box. Which makes me wonder why not just put the Strawberry Millie Feuille in a separate cake box. Overall, not a great visual presentation of the cakes and the brand. I wasn’t really happy when I received the cakes considering the price and the image of Lady M. Almost seemed like homemade cake business.

Tastes good enough. I tried the signature one but my friend said the best are the green tea and other flavored ones. During covid, no eat-in allowed which makes it a bit difficult since its not something you can just walk eating. I was impressed by the plastic fork that looked exactly like silver fork, giving a more luxurious experience to eat 😂

The in-store experience was amazing, and the cakes were *chef's kiss* unique but also vaguely nostalgic. The Vanilla is beautiful, but the matcha is an experience. 🙌 11/10

Great variety of cakes. They taste great and not too heavy and the presentation is really nice too. They are very expensive but worth once a while. Give them a try!

Bakery
Nestled in a sunlit corner, Red Gate Bakery is a delightful haven where classic baked goods are reimagined with surprising ingredients. Founded by Greg Rales, this charming bakeshop combines nostalgic flavors from his childhood with innovative twists. Signature creations like the bagel cake—layered with marbled vanilla and chocolate and topped with brown butter cream cheese frosting—are just the tip of the iceberg.
I can't say if everything on the menu is delicious but I can say that based off the items I tried, this bakery is absolutely worth a visit and I'll certainly be back to try more. I like that they offer a special cake flavor every weekend. I tried their rhubarb macaroon cake slice ($10) and it was soooooooo good and not overly sweet. The cake slice was so fresh. I also had the midnight banana bread ($5). And oh my goodness, I was surprised at how moist and rich it was. It's a thick and heavy slice, in the very very best way. Really good quality and value. This is a small shop. There's not much space inside. No seating except for one small table outside.

Actually bbbusssinnn. The corn basil cake is like 12/10 amazing delicious. I am gluten intolerant but glutened myself for this. The lines are stupid actually. On a Saturday honestly don’t even try. I went an hour after they opened on a Friday and got the last slice of cake. Like it’s insane. But this stuff isssss good. I wish they opened earlier. But otherwise no notes. Great food.

Such a cool bakery!! Quirky, fun flavours. Iikeeeee. Massive line that moves kinda fast (11am on Saturday - when they open). They know how to make cake!! I’ve had two of their corn cakes and they were soooo good. I really liked the midnight banana bread. It’s a treat. Corn bun was alright for me - it felt a bit stale? I would keep coming back to try their massive rotating selection of cakes, bars, cookies, buns & more.

Good baked goods! Not too sweet and not too polarizing. I wanted more corn things but they only had the corn Oreo ($2.5). I also got the bagel pastry (9.25) Both were quite good! sweeter than I preferred but no complaints, but the prices are very NYC

Finally made it here to try to choco-toffee cookie, only to find that they were out. That was surprising, as we got there hours before closing time, but I guess that’s not really their fault. What was most irritating was that we stood outside in the midday sun for at least 20 minutes before we could get inside and realize that they were out of several item. I wish they’d at least put up a sign so people aren’t wasting their time waiting for items that aren’t there. Since we stood in line, we grabbed a spiced oatmeal cookie, which was overly sweet. There are plenty of good cookie places in NYC - this one is not worth another visit.

My wife and I squeezed in a visit here, last thing before leaving the country on our visit from the UK. I’m almost struggling to find words to describe how at home one felt walking through the door. Something about the nostalgic smell of fresh baked cookies, or perhaps the knowledge that as an LGBT person you’re welcomed in with open arms. We chose an abundance of cookies which served as an excellent snack whilst travelling. Whatever you guys do with your Spiced & Iced cookie, just carry on doing it!!!!!

Excellent! The best cinnamon roll I have ever tried. It was a pumpkin pecan caramel roll It was with true sourdough and a good recipe not just another “bread milk” with cinnamon. They really do the effort to make a great cinnamon roll!

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE MISO APPLE CRUMB BAR. I’ve been playing a game over the past several weeks to find my personal favorite autumnal treat in NYC. Because I’m a sucker for aesthetics, I assumed that my inevitable winner would be something with tons of orange frosting(which was my logic behind getting the candy corn Oreo from here as well) and a healthy amount of Halloween sprinkles. If we’re being honest, I didn’t even want to get the miso apple crumb bar because that sounded kind of weird to me—but it was recommended to me by someone who knows what they’re talking about. I thought I died when I ate this and transcended to a version of heaven where it’s just me, this miso apple crumb bar, and somehow still everyone else on the sidewalk where I stuffed this entire bar into my face in a wave of delirium. The texture of this just shouldn’t exist: it has a stable base and perfect, crispy firm crumb topping, but the mid-section is this incredible, gooey layer of perfectly seasoned apples that melt in your mouth with a flavor profile that’s giving complexity and saltiness. It’s like grandma’s apple crumb but carefully elevated by the umami quality until it becomes a dreamy mix of cinnamon apple salty crumbly goodness. By comparison, the Candy corn Oreo was fine, but I wouldn’t need to be buried with it. Unlike the miso apple crumb bar, which should be placed directly in my coffin upon my demise.

Elbow Bread, located in Chinatown, is a charming bakery offering an array of delectable pastries and breads with a unique Jewish American twist. The former baker at Sadelles and the team behind Court Street Grocers have created a menu filled with mouthwatering treats such as caraway rye palmier, sweet challah honey bun, and a flavorful knish filled with dill, potatoes, and sauerkraut.
Loved it! Get the challah croissant and sauerkraut knish. The croissant was uniquely eggy. The eggs created a more tender, moister crumb than normal croissants, and the lacquered shell was full of browned egg flavor. It unmistakably tasted like challah. The knish was simply heavenly. The potato filling was rich, creamy, chunky, dilly, and tangy. It’s pricy, yes, but after tasting it I immediately went back for a few extra to bring home. It was so aromatic the smell just wafted out of the paper bag as I walked around—it was a challenge to not eat it on the way home! The other baked goods were nice but not as excellent as the two mentioned. The cookie could use a bit more soy sauce as a flavor bridge between the nori and chocolate chip.

Nice little bakery with a cozy vibe, though a bit pricey for what you get. I really enjoyed the blueberry kolache and other pastries , fresh and flavorful. Some of the sweet options were a bit much for my taste, but overall good quality. The place is quite small with no seating, so it’s more of a grab-and-go spot. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Worth checking out if you're nearby, just maybe not a spot I'd line up for.

It's amazing. Black sourdough bread tastes rich and I like it very much. If you haven't tried it yet, I think it's worth a try here. I also tasted the turkey clutch and liked the pickles inside. The taste is distinct. I will try other breads again next time I have the chance.

Great work yall. That’s a good gluten free muffin. The sour cherry ginger muffin… yum yum. The passion fruit ricotta donut is also fire. It weirdly tastes like lemon chicken (that Canadian-Chinese take out dish). But delish. Perfect texture. I went at 10am on a Sunday and they still had donut. Another time I went at noon and there were no donuts left. The line moves fast.
Cassia A — Google review
ELBOW!! DELISH! I will be back with friends so I can get MORE things. I tried the date walnut butter sandwich, garlic bail, and miso chocolate chip cookie. The sandwich was a perfect balance between sweet and salty with the most satisfying textural difference between the bread and gooey inside with little crisp bits to chew on. They pretzels weren't ready because I got there quite early but they looked SO enticing, cant wait to visit again! The crew inside was so chill, really appreciate their work!

I never heard of Elbow bread before but when I attended the Madewell event, it had me at their chocolate babka! I have to visit their bakery in Ludlow. I was disappointed because there w only one left of their chocolate babka. I was told that I have to come in early hours as it sells fast. Any way I tried their rugelach and it was close enough. The staff are helpful. The place is small but there’s few seating area outside. Will try to come back earlier next time. A little pricey but for me it’s worth it. This review is mainly for the chocolate babka and rugelach. For the rest of the menu, I never tried them yet.

Very cute and lovely tiny chocolate croissant I felt a taste that felt like it had a lot of inner strength in it. The sweetness was very well preserved and only the chocolate had flavor. The blueberry cream cheese pastry was a delightful combination of blueberries and cream cheese. The richness of the blueberries made me feel the love of the baker who made this bread. The fluffy texture of the bread with green onions and the addition of poppy seeds gave it a light yet fragrant flavor that whetted my appetite. Each bread had a different texture and was rich in toppings, so it tasted high quality. T.M.I🤫 I came to New York and tried Babka bread for the first time, and it was interesting to see how each bakery had a different flavor. Elbow's Babka has a harmony of coffee and chocolate, and the coffee flavor is a little stronger, so I think it would be perfect to pair with coffee.☕️🥐

We stood in a line out in the rain and it was worth it. The concord plum sheep's cheese danish is to die for, also don't miss the chocolate chip cookie. Honorable mention goes to the chocolate babka. Unfortunately there's no seating inside, but this is one of the best bakeries in the city.

Italian restaurant
Ferrara Bakery & Cafe, a beloved establishment since 1892, is renowned for its delectable Italian pastries and desserts in the heart of Little Italy. The cafe offers over 200 freshly made sweet treats daily, including classics like Sfogliatella and cream puffs filled with Bavarian cream. Customers can indulge in a Trio of Three to sample miniatures of their famous desserts.
Amazing beautiful cafe I took my girl to. Ordered the special French toast meal and she got the acai bowl shown. We sat outside and the lady brought it to us. Even gave me the syrup and hot sauce. It tasted delicious and looked gourmet. Thank you very much to the workers here for producing such fantastic food. Coffee was fresh and great as well.

First Italian bakery in the US so definitely go be a part of history! 😉 Tiramisu has a silk texture, absolutely delectable!!! Lobster tail was a good one too given it wasn’t too sweet and very nice fresh and crunchy!! Service was poor.. right from looking to be seated to having someone take the order to getting hold of someone for a cheque.. It wasn’t busy in a Friday afternoon! Overall I would recommend a “GO”

We come here multiple times every time we come to the city. Annamaria makes you feel like family. Treating my daughter like her own grandchild. Letting her taste whatever she wanted. Sat and talked to us for several minutes made recommendations. Absolutely loved speaking with her. Eric was our server both times we went and he was awesome!! The desserts speak for themselves this place hasn’t been open for over 130 years for no reason. It’s a must in little Italy 🇮🇹 🤌🏻😘

Ferrara Bakery & Cafe in Little Italy is a true New York treasure. We tried both the classic cannoli and the chocolate-dipped version—absolutely delicious! The filling was creamy and flavorful without being overly sweet, just the way it should be. The fig cookies were another standout and definitely a must-try. Beyond the incredible pastries, the staff made the experience unforgettable. Our server treated us like family and was just the sweetest, and the cappuccino she made was one of the best I’ve ever had. Between the warm service, the welcoming atmosphere, and the unforgettable treats, Ferrara is a must-visit spot in Little Italy.

One of my favorite Italian pastry and bakery shops in New York City! Definitely the best one in Little Italy/Chinatown area!!! Most of other bakery shops usually get their pastries and bakeries from here, anyway. This is the quintessential classic Italian pastry shop everyone should visit in Little Italy. Pastries are absolutely delicious and service is great!! It was so good that we bought extras to take home, too. Highly recommended 👌 Scale 1-10: Food-9 Price-8 Service-10 Atmosphere-10 Cleanliness-9

Morgenstern's BANANAS is a trendy ice cream parlor in New York City that offers unique and creative flavors of ice cream and sorbet, as well as gourmet sundae toppings. The focus here is on elevating the texture and taste of their products, with flavors like durian banana, cardamom lemon jam, and Vietnamese coffee.
A must-visit for soft serve lovers! This place is super well-known in NYC, and their banana self-serve is definitely the star here! I tried the banana self-serve sundae with their recommended toppings, and it was amazing, rich, creamy, naturally sweet, and packed with banana flavor. It’s vegan too, which makes it feel indulgent and healthy at the same time! The toppings were so thoughtfully chosen and elevated the sundae perfectly. I can’t wait to come back for more banana self-serve and try other flavors like salted peanut butter and midnight chocolate next time. All the toppings on display looked delicious, so I’m excited to customize more combos in the future. This spot is totally worth the hype, especially if you’re into unique and creative soft serve experiences!

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon in the City on Mother’Day. After some pizza at Lombardi’s on Spring St., it was time for a dessert. A great option close by (right off of Bowery) is Morgenstern’s, and that’s where I headed. I’m a regular there because their ice cream flavors are just so good and interesting. On this occasion I had the salted peanut butter, which was excellent and refreshing. I’ve had most things on the menu and my two current favorites being the salted peanut butter and the banana teddy graham, which I’ll come back for next weekend. So good! This is one of my favorite places in the City for soft serve ice cream because they have many creative and interesting flavor options and combinations. If you try Morgenstern’s I’m sure it’ll become one of your favorites. It can be an expensive venture, but recommended!

Was walking by Morgenstern’s when I stumbled upon this eye-catching, trendy-looking ice cream spot called Bananas — so of course I had to check it out. They offer a bunch of dairy-free, vegan-friendly options: sorbets, sundaes, soft serve… lots to choose from. I went with a few friends and we ordered a bunch of different things to try. Prices were definitely on the higher side, but the flavors were decent overall — until I got to the pineapple on the bottom. It tasted… off. Like, weirdly fermented. Totally ruined the last bite. Wish I had stopped a spoonful earlier.
Perle75nyc — Google review
The chocolate and peanut butter flavours are great. Sometimes you can swirl them, and that’s the best. You should alwaysss be able to swirl them. The chocolate is really dark and delicious. It’s vegan (dairy free) but you wouldn’t know it. The peanut butter dip is not worth the $0.77. The shell is super dooper thin and adds nothin’. Some spots to sit. They sell tubs of Morgensterns and Bananas.
Cassia A — Google review
This is place is OK ... but yeah. My Reese's pieces buster was basically a $10 Mcflurry. And my girlfriend's honey jelly tasted kind of stale. And finally, the workers seemed to be fighting the delivery people outside half the time 😅 But I like the concept of this spot in theory.
Zachary T — Google review
Delicious! I felt like it lived up to the morgensterns name. I’m not usually a vegan ice cream fan but I was into the midnight chocolate salted peanut butter swirl (the chocolate dip was maybe the highlight!). As a self identified banana hater the question I had coming here was whether they have non banana flavors and i was pleasantly surprised. They also have an extensive outline of potential allergens available if that’s a concern. I’ll definitely be back if I’m in the neighborhood.
Kelsey B — Google review
They have some unique and delicious creations here. Unfortunately, the portion sizes are so small it's insulting - and the price for those small portions is absurd.

Absolutely delicious. Had the mixed midnight chocolate and salted peanut butter. It was rich, not too sweet.. some of the best (if not the best) vegan ice cream I’ve ever had!!! Wish there was some better seating in/outside as I was on crutches and it was busy- tiny shop. But it seriously was so incredible! Husband got - midnight choc cone I got- midnight choc and pb swirl regular size Best friend- got banana soft serve with strawberry sauce in a mini!!!!

It offers a delectable selection of vegan and gluten-free treats, including cupcakes, cookies, donuts, and savory sandwiches. The bakery has been satisfying sweet cravings for over a decade with its commitment to quality ingredients and diverse dietary accommodations. This place truly makes gluten free and vegan dreams come true. I have been to the location in Orlando, but this one has so much more variety of goodies. I got one of their day old half off deal (a container of two slices of banana bread and a slice of lemon blueberry bread) and it was just as good as fresh! The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you for making my visit to NYC so special!

How is this place still living in the early days of vegan baking. These two dry cupcakes were almost $18. One is chocolate and other is lemon it tasted like oil, very disappointed. There are too many good places to try in the city unfortunately won’t be coming back. I did had a lemon loaf a long time ago that was tasty.

My fiancé and I were walking around the area and we unexpectedly stumbled upon this bakery. Initially we were just going to get him a donut but then we realized they were gluten free and allergy friendly so we got the iced lemon blueberry loaf and biscuits as well. The Samoa donut was amazing, soft and moist! The loaf was really good as well. When you go to most gluten free bakeries they over compensate for the lack of gluten with sugar and I usually can’t eat much of it but here they use a good balance of sweeteners, as well as natural ones. I can’t wait to try more items in the future!! The employees were very nice and helpful.

1.plain "bagel" is not a bagel. it doesn't taste good, and is dense and dry. Should be called a scone and have a different shape because so dense and not fluffy at all 2.lemon donut: very good 3.coconut donut: nice texture of the frosting, quite sweet, couldn't eat more than 1/3 4.pumpkin spice loaf (fall): dense (not fluffy) but soft and great flavors. only can eat 1/3 or 1/2 in one sitting. good overall and satisfies your sweet tooth. Could omit frosting, doesn't add much apart from make it sweeter 5.chocolate/brownie bite: dense, very rich, sweet, small and satisfying (almost a bit small), one more bite would be ideal 6.mocha donut: donut base tastes like lemon. frosting taste like coffee. expected the frosting to be crunchy because of the "crumble"-like texture but it tastes like frosting and is smoother than one may think. Very pretty 7.sprinkle (pink) vanilla donut: very good donut, although quite sweet and, once again, dense (not fluffy or light). almost a hint of lemon, perhaps from cross contamination. Took off the frosting 8.chocolate crumb cake : decadent, sweet and rich. syrup glaze on top (chocolate). sort of syrup that is unnecessary. The cake tastes a bit off, probably because I'm used to regular chocolate cake with wheat flour? looks fluffier than it tastes. the top of the cake is sweeter but more moist than the bottom (almost as if cooked in 2 times). too sugary. 9.jalapeño cheddar biscuit: disgusting. dry, tastes off. doesn't preserve well. gross. Staff is friendly, baked goods are ideal for a tea party, dessert for yourself or a gift

Mission: Put together a selection of vegan goodies for my son's 40th birthday. The process: Not being in Manhattan, in fact, being in NC, I had to Google vegan bakeries and there's quite a few. After viewing a dozen websites, I called a half dozen to inquire about building a spectacular selection for a surprise gift. I read over a hundred reviews to determine options and finally came up with what I felt was a perfect variety. Ordering was . . . . a piece of cake, so to speak. We ran through the menu items, decided on quantities and talked about the delivery. I requested pictures before they delivered and they complied and are attached to this review. Courteous, professional, timely and customer focused, and, by the way, the cakes, brownies and cookies were, as I heard, quite delicious. I'm only sorry I didn't get to try anything. 15/10 recommended, you should try it.

Absolutely loved this bakery! I've been waiting years to visit here on pilgrimage from the UK, and got to see the newly refurbished shop interior on the day it reopened in January 2020. Definitely not disappointed - there was a wide range of gluten-free and vegan cakes, cookies and doughnuts available. All of them were great! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and served with the biggest of smiles. Kinda wish I lived across the pond so that I could visit more often, but at least I know now that I'm baking correctly from the recipe books! Looking forward to visiting again someday soon.

I visited this shop yesterday 8/10. Me and my girlfriend were welcomed immediately by the staff. My girlfriend recommend getting a cheesecake from this place from a viral tiktok video. I, who loves cheesecake, came to check it out. We ordered the Empire State cheesecake. I noticed they had a Mexican sour gummy candy so I thought it would be a great addition. I was glad when I did because when I tried it after leaving the store. I was amazed how good it is so I had to run back and buy two more! While sweets are my favorite, sour candies are always the top tier choice for me. I will say this, the cheesecake is amazing! I can’t wait to stop by again soon!

I specifically want to shout out Nati, the owner, whose passion for baking is evident in every delicious creation. She took the time to listen to my ideas and crafted a beautiful birthday cake that exceeded all my expectations. Not only was it a stunning centerpiece at my party, but it was also incredibly delicious! The flavor was out of this world, and every bite was a delight. Thank you, Nati, for making my birthday so special with your beautiful cake! I can't recommend “Que Lo Cake” aka Huascar & Co. Ok, so my friend who lives in Hells Kitchen, mentioned a few weeks ago, that I MUST go to Huascar Bakery. He said that he and his partner goes all the time, and that it’s one of the best bakeries in the city. Me being a foodie and food vlogger, I was instantly intrigued! I was also a bit disappointed that I never heard of them :-( . But as I say, better late than never, right?! I made it my business to get to Huascar’s! So, I pull up, and I start filming outside the bakery, first. It’s a small, humble-sized bakery, with cute decor. The inside is small and cute. I love the utilization of the board, where they have their name, as well as the menu items. The wall with the flowers on it is sooo cute! I really dug it and even got lost in its beauty for a few seconds! Their display case of all their goodies is thee most tempting site to behold! They think they slick lol. I wanted EVERYTHING! The woman who was working, was a DOLL! Ugh! She was the sweetest, and most helpful. We joked and laughed and talked about sweets we love, what I should try that was seasonal, I mean we had a great time. I really appreciated her and she contributed to the experience just as much as the baked goods. The owner then came out to greet me and he was super sweet. He asked about my food vlog and we chatted with me for a bit. I expressed my excitement to try his cupcakes, considering he won Cupcake Wars on Food Network! Ok, speaking of the cupcakes, I’ll use that as a segue to get into what I ate! The first being……yes! A cupcake lol. I tried the guava peaches and cream cupcake, which….girl. This cupcake was done beautifully. It was topped with this guava cream cheese frosting, crumble, and drizzled with guava. It was stuffed with peaches and LOTS.OF.GUAVA! This cupcake was fluffy, lite and airy. It was absolute perfection, and it was truly a flavor journey that I didn’t want to end. I also tried their key lime pie, which was beyond impressive. I have had thee best key lime pie from Key West, and Huascar’s Bakeshop holds its own! They DID.THAT.CUSTARD! It was the perfect amount of lime flavor, nicely rich and laid atop a thick graham cracker crust. It was topped with lime zest and whipped cream. This pie was made with love. You taste it in every bite. Lastly, I tried the Black Forest cake which was cake….at its finest. The cake itself was MOIST! Paired with the cherry and whipped cream??? Fuh-get about it! It was served in a jar, which, just made it more fun to eat for some reason. Again, I was soo disappointed that I was late to the Huascar Bakeshop party, but I’m glad that I finally got to go and enjoy its divinity! Gooooooooo to Huascar’s!!

So disappointed! I paid $350.00 for a fondant cake this cake is buttercream ! The woman lied when I asked if the cake was fondant-she said yes. I was asked for inspiration photos- this cake looks nothing like what I asked for. The cake was for my daughter’s 35th birthday. Such a disappointment, I feel ripped off.

Librae Bakery is a spacious spot that offers a variety of custom-made baked goods such as pastries and cookies, along with both indoor and outdoor seating. This Middle Eastern-inspired bakery is known for its delectable treats, particularly the extensive selection of croissants. Visitors rave about the divine taste of the hot pistachio rose croissant and recommend trying to get them fresh out of the oven.
Best of the best pistachio croissant!!!! I’ve tried pistachio croissants from many places, but I’ve never seen one so generously filled with pistachio paste and topped with this much pistachio on the outside. The flavor and presentation are absolutely perfect. At $8.50, it’s worth every penny. The blueberry corn scone was also delicious, and both the sea salt mocha and strawberry lemonade were absolutely excellent. I’d gladly live near this bakery just to enjoy it more often. =============================== On my second visit, I had the tomato danish, Jerusalem bagel, cherry cookie, and pistachio croissant again — and they were just as amazing as before!

Another bakery that comes highly recommended when asking around, so it was quickly added to my list. It’s a cute little shop with indoor seating, outlets to charge your phone, AND WATER! This was one of the few places I visited that had free water cups for paying customers. That seems like a taboo option these days in ny. The case had ample options from both laminated to non laminated options. I went with a pistachio croissant and the sticky toffee date oat cookie situation. The croissant was maybe 3.5 stars. Nothing super remarkable but a decent croissant nonetheless. For me the showing the star was that damn cookie. The perfect texture, chewy, well seasoned, good balance. I mean my god was it a home run. I saved it and ate it when I arrived back at the airport and regret doing so because k couldn’t get another one. I was absolutely go back here to first and foremost get more sticky little cookies but also to try some of the other offerings. Highly recommend a stop in if you have time. And when I arrived while still early there was no line!!

Ambiance (5/5): There are some seats outdoors and indoors. Laptops are not allowed inside, which makes sense to allow occupation by dining patrons! It was cool being able to see into the kitchen where the baking was taking place. There’s the public park with benches across the restaurant where you can eat outside. Service (5/5): It’s a well oiled machine to get you in and out. I asked for a recommendation and the person who helped me provided some good feedback. Halva Croissant (4/5) $8.50: Available only on the weekends! It is indeed a hefty one with some chocolate and halva melted on the inside. The outside of the top part was almost too crunchy but it was good on the inside. Rich, oily, but I very much enjoyed it in two sittings, or perhaps one if shared with someone. Loomi Babka (1/5): While beautifully folded to create a lovely bun, there was almost no taste to it. The bread was soft but I only took 2 bite before I chucked the rest and wasted $7.

Stopped by Librae to grab a pistachio rose croissant and a flat white. The croissant was massive - super flaky with beautiful layers and a decadent pistachio cream filling that carried a subtle rose note in each bite. It’s rich & indulgent and definitely big enough to share. The flat white was smooth and a perfect afternoon pick me up.

This place has some of the best pastries in town, with lot of options to choose from. I’ve been here a couple of times and tried the pistachio rose croissant, espresso chocolate croissant, and focaccia, each one consistently flavorful and perfectly balanced, not overly sweet. They bake everything fresh, and the quality shines through. There’s usually a long line, so expect a 20–30 minute wait during peak hours, but it’s absolutely worth it. The staff are friendly and welcoming, though seating is limited. It’s already become a favorite spot for pastries, and I can’t wait to try more from the menu. Highly recommend!
Mounica B — Google review
The pastries are tasty but be forewarned they are very heavy and can be greasy. This is the only criticism I would level against this place. As for the croissant the flakiness is superb but there is too much butter which makes the actual dough greasy. You need a black coffee or tea to pair this with. The tahini chocolate chip cookie on the other hand is 5/5!!

Worth the usual wait. Fortunately we got there early and didn’t wait long. Busy but friendly and helpful. Had the egg pastry- it was a delight. The baked parm that comes on the sandwich should be sold separately, it’s that good. Don’t limit yourself to just a pastry- the Chocolate Chip cookie was soo good.

Bakery
Radio Bakery is a haven for baking enthusiasts, offering an array of delectable treats that are more than just food - they're experiences. Their sausage chive focaccia is a savory masterpiece, while the Dutch sticky buns are a sweet indulgence that keeps customers coming back for more. Despite its popularity, the bakery ensures there's always plenty of pastries available.
The pastries here are fantastic. Expect a line on a Saturday morning, but it moves quickly. We got the corn pecorino focaccia and were completely blown away — such a unique combination that totally works. I’m still thinking about it. We also got the brown butter cornbread, which was excellent, and topped it off with the cheddar pretzel bear claw. If you’re into pretzels, that one will be perfect for you. They have so many pastries that you’ll want to come back a few times to try more. The service was very friendly, and everything looked amazing. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re looking for a great pastry spot in Brooklyn.

Interior/outside terrace: the interior is very functional, very few inside seating options. But it’s not like a comfy café. They do have a small outside seating area, which is nice, nothing special, but if you get a table there, you can enjoy your croissants in the sun. Food quality/price: good selection of savoury & sweet food, very delicious. I got an earl grey bun & a pistachio croissant. Both very delicious, like out of another world. Loved them. I found their food to be quite expensive. Suggestion: why not making tiny versions of the different treats (to a smaller price as well of course), so solo-visitors can try more delicious treats? Service: friendly, functional, nothing outstanding though.

Tried the Spicy Tofu Sandwich and Earl Grey Bun: both tasted really good. The sandwich had a nice flavor, though it was a bit too charred, which affected the taste. It would be great if they warmed up the sandwiches, as the bread gets hard and chewy after a while. There’s usually a line, but it moves quickly. The space inside is small with limited outdoor seating, yet the service is friendly and efficient. Overall, a solid spot for baked goods, definitely recommend and will be back!

It's not bad but a bit overhyped. The foccacia and sesame twist are delicious but the rest of the pastries are just average: - Croissant: no flavour whatsoever, the butter is completely missing - Corn cake: rich but a bit too sweet. The inside is a bit gluey. - Morning bun: can taste the early grey but also sweet, texture a bit dry - Cinnamon rolls: also sweet and dry Overall recommended to try if you are in the area but not worth travel the length of NY for...

I’d heard great things about this Brooklyn bakery, so I finally stopped by on a Saturday around 1 p.m. As soon as I arrived, I saw a long line outside — and it continued inside as well. The shop itself is very small, with no indoor seating and just a few sidewalk tables, which fill up quickly. So my first tip: go early if you want the full selection and a shorter wait. The line does move fairly quickly, though, thanks to their fast service — and the crowd alone tells you how popular the place is. Even though it was already late in the day and many items had sold out, I still managed to get a ham sandwich. It was fairly large in size. I ate it in two portions ( however, I was not super hungry, tbh) and made with high-quality ham, a flavorful spread, and a sesame-crusted toasted baguette. The bread was a bit firm, but it seemed intentional. It wasn’t served hot, but it was fresh and made with high quality ingredients. I also grabbed a slice of their brown corn butter cake, which was incredible — unlike anything I’ve had before. It reminded me of cornbread but with the richness and texture of a butter cake. A really delicious fusion. To go with it, I ordered an iced mocha, and it was excellent. I’m usually picky about mochas, but this one had great balance: high-quality espresso and chocolate, thick texture, and just the right sweetness (leaning on the less-sweet side, which I loved). Overall, this bakery is absolutely worth the visit — especially if you enjoy unique baked goods and great coffee. Just be prepared for a line, and try to arrive early for the best selection. I’m already planning to return and try more of their menu.

I don’t know man. Maybe because my wife makes some slammin focaccia, considering the line, I thought maybe the food here would be outstanding but, I found myself gnawing or needing to tear the sandwich from my mouth after biting down hard on the bread. I did see someone bite down and use their fingers to help them tear it away. My jaw muscles shouldn’t get tried from having to chew so hard to be honest 😅 Maybe they’re baking at too high of a heat who knows. The chocolate croissant however was “very good” not sure I would 15 minutes again to get a sandwich or pastries here.

Radio Bakery is my no. 1 bakery in nyc. every time i go, i have to wait in line (~10-30 mins depending on which day and time).
what keeps me going back is their unique sandwiches and pastry 🥐 they always have rotating seasonal pastry and scrumptious collabs. what i have tried— ✨apple brown butter croissant ($7): crispy croissant with sweet apple 🍎 it is not overly sweet; just enough to fuel my day. ✨smoked salmon focaccia ($15): a perfect breakfast or brunch. it is packed with cream cheese, dill, onion, and smoked salmon. ✨earl grey morning bun ($6): my all time fav. it is fragrant with early grey, cinnamon, in a chewy bun. i’d always go back for this. i was actually going for corn custard tart but it was sold out within minutes 😭 people do not play when it comes to viral and seasonal bakery.

One of the best bakeries in nyc!! I stopped by around noon on a Saturday and had to wait in line for maybe 20 min. The focaccia sandwich I had was incredible and def hit the spot. Now I gotta get up early and head near opening in the morning to catch the other pasties and seasonal treats they sell and sell out of. The peach iced tea was also very good

ByClio Bakery is a charming and cozy bakery located near Park Slope in the Gowanus section of Brooklyn. The industrial chic space offers a beautiful aesthetic and a comfortable sitting area to enjoy their heavenly scented artisanal baked goods. Visitors can indulge in savory biscuits, delectable cakes, and even vegan options while sipping on coffee or cold Matcha. While there are no restrooms on-site, nearby facilities are available at Whole Foods just several blocks away.
Cake was as beautiful as it was delicious. I love that the cream top is not too sweet. The 6 inch cake served 8 (small slices) and still had about a quarter leftover. Enough for seconds! Also survived a 3 hour drive upstate without incident. Will definitely be ordering from here again as they have so many options :)

TLDR: the best cake we’ve ever had. Incredible flavor and not too sweet. We are now obsessed and planning our next orders!! For our civil ceremony, we ordered the Halloween cookie cake, which had an M&M cookie base, chocolate fudge, dulce de leche filling, brown sugar sponge, and cream top frosting. We knew it would be good, but it surpassed all of our expectations!! The portions were PERFECT! We got the 10” which was perfect for our little wedding party of 25 people with some left over. The florals and the swirl design were sooo GORGEOUS and elegant. And the most important part: IT WAS SO GOOD — great texture with the cookie, the lightest fluffiest sponge, and a cream frosting that wasn’t too sweet. They were also able to fulfill our request for the frosting to be white, so that we could add our own “just married” cake topper!! We had multiple people say this is the best cake they’ve had and where they could get their own personal cake. This was our first time ordering from ByClio and we’re absolutely stunned. My husband and I tried to order it again to enjoy with just the two of us, but sadly it’s just an October special. We’ll be trying out other flavors instead!!

I ordered a custom cake for a birthday party (almond cake, raspberry filling, whipped cream topping) and it was DELICIOUS! And also so stunning. The cake was a huge hit! I was expecting to have a ton of leftovers and I think we only had a slice or two left (sadly!). I had it delivered and they were on time and the cake was in perfect condition. Highly recommend :)

I ordered a cake for my sister’s birthday and I honestly can’t say enough about how delicious it was. Everyone kept talking about it as they were eating—each bite was perfection! The flavor, the texture, everything was just spot on. I would 100% order from them again for our next celebration!

Best cakes I’ve ever had! Moist, dense, with the most decadent cream icing. Gorgeous too and photograph very well. So many unique flavors. The shop is a quiet, sunny place to spend an afternoon and the whole cake orders have never disappointed! I’ve gotten 3 birthday cakes from byClio (the first was off Instagram, before they even had a shop) and always look forward to the next year. So happy to see this business thriving. Cannot recommend more.

We ordered a birthday cake from here and wow, it basically stole the show! Everyone was raving about how fabulous it was and asking where we got it. Plus, the team was super communicative and accommodating. They made it easy to customize flavors and even checked in with me to make sure everything was just right—no sugarcoating needed on the service either!

Such a wonderful bakery with unique flavors. We ordered a Victorian Sponge Cake with Raspberry filling and the whipped cream topping. The cake was gorgeous, tasted amazing and was incredibly light- not overly sweet or heavy. Clio was so helpful in answering any questions I had before ordering and the prices are on par with other local bakeries, if not a bit cheaper. They also have a storefront that is great to stop by as well. Highly recommend!

Patisserie Tomoko, located in a quiet part of Williamsburg near McCarren Park, is a Japanese-French bakery known for its innovative and elevated pastries. Chef Tomoko Kato, with training in both the US and Japan, specializes in creating unique flavor combinations using high-quality ingredients. The bakery offers an array of beautifully crafted desserts perfect for impressing friends and family who appreciate fine European pastry.
Last night I dreamed about the yuzu cheesecake, the cream puff and sparkling yuzu drink. Yesterday, I finally ate desserts at Patisserie Tomoko with Raj who had told me that he wanted to take me there. Raj has been here countless times and likes it a lot. We sat at the counter which was comfortable. Bring a weekday, there were few customers. We ordered cappuccinos, two cream puffs, a gâteau au chocolat and a yuzu cheesecake. All the pastries were delicious. Then Raj told me that I simply had to have the refreshing yuzu drink. Freshly made, it was ambrosial. I could have had two. We ate slowly and finished every bite. Chef Tomoko and Chef Hiro were hard at work prepping. Billie Holiday was singing among other jazz singers. Chef Hiro enjoys jazz. The weekends here get busy so it was good that we came on a weekday. I am planning to return for more of the yuzu cheesecake and drink. The interior had lots of foliage and some pictures.

It was on my list to check out this place for a while. I was excited to try the pastry, but there was no seating so we decided to have prix fixe dessert ($29.50) at the bar. Next time we will just get the ready- made pastry from the counter and take it to the park to eat. Chestnut tart looked amazing. For three course dessert, we chose Mont Blanc. Since its tasting course, portions were small. If you compare with ready-made pastry you see in the display, it’s about 1/4 size. Each course was creatively plated and nice. Cappuccino was good.
Amy K — Google review
The dessert selection was great, tastes amazing, and presentation even better. Minor note on utensils and plating (hard to eat certain items due to plate instead of bowl), and perhaps exchanging stools or seating that's more comfortable for eating dessert instead of drinks.
David A — Google review
Small dessert store with many Japanese and French desserts. The menu overall is simple. They make things good but with some space to improve. Slightly on the pricy side. 💛Yuzu dacquoise was a pretty straightforward flavor. The texture was good but nothing impressive. I had mille crepe cake the other day, although it tasted good but it was kinda dry. Cold brew tea was cold tea.

Stellar, friendly service and beautiful location filled with sunshine and green plants. Banana chocolate tart was dense and rich but a bit one-note from what I was expecting. I would go back and try some of their other desserts.

There are some interesting desserts here. They also have a Pre-fixe dessert menu. The Cream Puff is 😋 and the Pumpkin pie is also very good. There desserts are Japanese with French techniques. It's not cheap but the quality is worth the price

$16 for three mochi, so you’ll be paying just a little over $5 for one. The earl grey mochi was great for its smoother and creamier filling, but you can skip out on the green tea and the red bean…a bit boring for the price. Their textures are also a bit more grainy compared to the earl grey one due to the fiber content of the ingredients.

I have been going to By the Way Bakery for years, since the first store opened in Westchester, and it remains my absolute favorite. They are truly one of the best gluten free, dairy free, and kosher bakeries anywhere in the United States. The quality is always incredible, and they never compromise on ingredients or flavor. It is hard to believe the baked goods are non dairy because the deserts are tasty and never compromise on quality. Even my friends who are not gluten free or kosher make special trips to buy desserts and cakes here. Some of our favorites are the lemon poppy seed cake, brownie fudge, and carrot cake. And during the High Holidays, Mama’s Apple Cake is a must, a guest favorite. The carrot cake is also excellent.

The food was delicious (such a pretty cake and the cookies were incredible) but it's really the customer service that has me a new loyal customer. There were some errors in the original order and Jelise was kind enough to meet with me at the store and craft an entire new cake while Naz reached out to confirm each and every detail. The result was a beautiful cake that resulted in lifetime memories and a newfound appreciation for an UES gem!

Last summer, amidst the challenges of the pandemic, Kimberly Camara and Kevin Borja launched Kora, a delightful donut and dessert brand from their Woodside apartment. Drawing inspiration from Kimberly's Filipino heritage, Kora has quickly gained popularity with its unique offerings like brioche donuts filled with ube custard. The vibrant colors and creative toppings of their treats reflect Southeast Asian flavors such as pandan and coconut, making them not only delicious but also visually stunning.
What a great experience! It was my first visit and worth my morning walk. I anticipated a long line and was welcomed by the owners. They show how much they truly appreciate each and every customer. My favorite was the ube latte and ensaymada croissant, but all of their drinks and baked goods are phenomenal. I can't wait stop by again and try some more treats. Their entire team are so kind and make the wait worthwhile. I appreciate how organized the entire visit was- from the line outside, inside the store, the kitchen, check out, etc. They put a lot of thought into making it a seamless and enjoyable experience.

The donuts here are amazing! I think we got 5 in total today and they were so fresh. Everything was delicious!!! Def recommend coming here. The ube donut and apple fritter donut are a must. All the donuts were so light despite the fillings and weren’t overly sweet. Hoping to stop by soon again.

Had to try this place because of their flan, and they delivered. I'm not a fan of donuts, but I was surprised about the flakiness of the dough, also not too sweet nor greasy, paired with a good and firm flan.Definitely a must try. The lemon cookie was a last minute addition and tasted good. The Ube was also a nice surprise as it was the mango float (I wish they could make a plain custard one!). The only complaint is in the matcha cruller, too greasy for my taste. They open late and there are plenty of people in line even during the week. It's easier to get pastries later in the AM but past 11:30 AM they might be sold out. Kudos to one of the owner for trying to make sense of the line outside.

Amazing food! Creative and mouth watering flavor combinations! A lovely introduction to filipino culture! Love the atmosphere inside and the seating. Worth the hype and the line out the door that moves quickly, they’ve got the efficiency down! My fav pastry was the sugary butter cheese croissant! Will be coming back again and again

I had been meaning to try Kora for so long but kept missing the pop-ups. When I finally did go on a Sunday at 9am I anticipated the wait but the staff was INCREDIBLY helpful in coming out, explaining the wait, the process and giving us hope, answering questions on what they would likely have and what might sell out. I got inside about 10:15 and loved the space. The decor is very neutral toned and I recommend sitting if you can. Since there is currently a 6 pastry cap, I got the ube babka, coffee cruller, cinnamon cruller, spam pan suisse and leche flan donut. Every single one knocked my socks off. I have been to allot of bakeries, and several Michelin Star restaurants, but I can't think of any that compare to Kora's pastries in terms of variety of flavor, texture & dynamics of taste. The lofty, butter-rich steam air that is trapped inside each layer, the soft and supple textures of the bites was intoxicating. The spam pan suisse with pimento cheese had a touch of savory heat while the outer glaze added crispy, crunchy sweetness. The the braided babka touched with salt played well together with the sweet profile of the ube center. I am very partial to coffee/coffee cakes and the Coffee Cruller was my favorite. The outer layer and coffee is delicious but I could not believe how tender, cloud loft, buttery soft the inside was. Even if the pastries are sold out the cookies and coffee are sold throughout the day and the full glass storefront lets in plenty of light. It is going to be my go-to coffee shop. Also, I really appreciate the signs in front explaining the current situation with the facilities, projected waits on weekdays vs weekends, and the explanations of the multi-day processes it takes to prep elements that go into the pastries. PLEASE don't be upset if items are sold out as all new businesses have growing pains. Do your homework and plan for a 1.5-2 hour min window from the time you arrive to when you eat. You can taste the effort and artistry in each bite, so make time for the experience (just my input).

Ok, so I’m not the person that likes standing on a line for something, but I’m so happy I did. While waiting in line, someone kindly came and spoke to us and shared some Expectations such as respecting the neighbor businesses by leaving space open for the doors. Super sweet. Anyways, once the bakery opened their doors, they had us come in groups to keep order and give us a good experience. They have a huge window so you can see them preparing the goods. Everything looked amazing so I had to buy a few different ones to try. Faves are the flan one and the ube donut. Everything is tasty and beautiful. I also tried one of their signature drinks and even though I don’t like coffee, this one was amazing. All this to say, this place is beautiful, the staff is super nice and the goods are amazing. It’s a must and it’s worth the hype.

As a Queens native, I have been waiting to try Kora for years and finally got to try them out! I got there on a weekend around 9:30am and got inside by 10:30, which was expected. There was a worker who came out and greeted everyone, and also updated everyone on the timing/amount of pastries left which was very nice of them! Once I got in, I was greeted at the door and all of the workers were very hospitable! I truly appreciate their warm attitude during such busy shifts. I ordered 5 pastries since the limit is 5 and I got: the ube donut, the leche flan ni lola donut, ube babka swirl, passionfruit bun donut, and the ensaymada croissant. My #1 pick was definitely the leche flan ni lola donut!!! Absolute fire. The ube babka swirl was my 2nd favorite, do not sleep on it. The rest were also good, however, the ube donut was a little underwhelming in flavor and the passionfruit had a nice cream but the donut itself was very doughy in texture. I am a huge foodie and growing up in Queens, NYC, we are exposed to so many great bakeries including Filipino bakeries in Woodside. I love the flavors of Filipino pastries and desserts and I guess I was expecting a wow factor after waiting so long to try Kora. The leche flan donut, I would definitely order again. The rest, maybe not. But that is my preference and I would definitely come back to try the other pastries that I couldn’t try this time around!
Elif D — Google review
Would travel and line up to wait for Filipino pastries and coffee anytime. If you’re willing to do the same for food, Kora will be worth it! Right before the store opens, one of the owners and the staff will go outside to greet the waiting guests and brief them on how things will go. This was a nice touch as I didn’t feel so lost. I did anticipate a line and a wait. All in all? It took about almost an hour to get inside. Not bad of a wait, but I had company too. So that was a good way to let time pass. Once inside, it felt warm and welcoming. We got in line and someone from the counter will assist you to choose your pastries. They place the pastries on a “bilao” or tray/basket. Note: A max of only 6 pastries per guest. Then you reach the cashier and you can order a drink. Pay (and tip 😄💕) and then wait for your order to be boxed and name to be called (if you ordered a drink). My friend and I stayed a while to chat and enjoy the pastries. It’s a good idea to go with someone so you can each order other pastries and have a pastry tasting party! Haha I might be too lazy to type in each pastry we tried and share my comments, buttt so summarize: you won’t go wrong choosing any of the pastries! The hot Ube Latte complemented the sweetness of all the food we ate. Each piece was honestly not too sweet either. I had leftovers and will try to toast the croissant to have a little crunchy melted cheese top. 😍 would go back again!

Laurel Bakery in Cobble Hill offers a delectable plain croissant that is small but packs a flavorful punch. The diamond-shaped pastry has a delicate, buttery texture with airy holes inside. Pair it with a baguette and pain suisse for the perfect lazy weekend morning treat. Additionally, their ramp & cantal escargot is highly recommended and worth returning for. The staff is friendly and professional, adding to the overall pleasant experience at this neighborhood gem.
I was on the hunt for some bread to make a tuna salad sandwich for a cheat meal. And I’m glad I found this spot, everyone was kind and incredibly patient as I slowly looked at their breads. They answered my questions patiently and it was just incredibly relaxing. I bought a focaccia bread and it was incredible, and their iced coffee was also incredibly smooth. I highly recommend this spot.

Finally tried multiple items and feeling ready to review. For sure a bakery worth to visit in the area. Many unique pastries and bread. Some spaces to improve. Croissants: overall good, flaky and crispy, but inside were slightly dry. I got a brick-shaped one with chopped pistachio and the Kouign-Amann. Deli rye was gorgeous too. Really soft with crunchy edge. Based on my long-rye-eating experience.. I think it was less impressive and slightly dry.

I had high hopes for this bakery after hearing several local recommendations, but I left disappointed. First, the pricing is surprisingly high: $8 for a small croissant, $6 for an iced drip coffee, and $6.50 for a cortado. For comparison, places like Hanis and Librae charge lower prices for much larger portions and higher quality. Unfortunately, Laurel’s croissant didn’t justify the cost: the interior wasn’t soft enough, and the outer texture felt overly thick and coarse. The coffee was similarly underwhelming, leaving me questioning how these prices are set. Overall, Laurel simply doesn’t deliver the quality to match its premium pricing. I won’t be returning, and I’d recommend exploring the many better and more affordable bakeries nearby in Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo.

Came here on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Literal best savory croissant of my life. Had the mortadella, pistachio, and pecorino croissant - their version of a ham & cheese croissant - and I didn’t want it to end. The dough was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Service was great. Space is really nice but be wary there is no indoor seating. A few tables under an overhang outside. Will happily sit in a bomb cyclone to eat this croissant. Enjoy!

Everything I've had here has been exceptional - usually getting a few pastries and maybe a sandwich. Love that you can get super high quality pastries with seasonally focused ingredients and interesting + well balanced flavors with less of the line / chaos of similar places like radio or l'apartment. Laurel is better in my opinion too! Many fruit pastries let the fruit flavor get overpowered by the general sweetness but not here. Not sure what the complaints about the staff/slowness are about, the person working the counter has always been kind and patient, and there hasnt been much of a line in my experience.

New favorite pastry spot. I think I've tried all of them at this point and they're all so good! Especially the Blueberry Danish, Pain Suisse, Kouign-Amann, and the honey/ginger loaf cake. So basically all of them haha. The cookie was pretty great too. Need to try the Jambon Buerre next time!
Sandy S — Google review
Must-try the ramp & cantal escargot (wonderfully savory, olive oil touch). Nicely balanced crunch & texture of the kouign-amann. Try the sunflower milk with coffee ☕️
Peter I — Google review
There are thousands of pastry options in Brooklyn, all of which you can convince yourself are subtly different in some way, especially if they're hyped up and garnering lines down the block. Laurel somehow doesn't have that same hype but they're the real deal. Everything I've had here is the best of that thing I've ever had: the canelés, the speculoos rolls, the foccacia, the bostock. Every detail is thought through, down to the homemade butter. This place is about depth over breadth (and hype) and on top of that, Nico couldn't be kinder, for someone so clearly meticulous. It's a little out of the way, so I'm writing this review in the hope that it lasts!

SOMA Cakes NYC is the brainchild of renowned custom cake designer and pastry chef Hiroyo Kuramata, who honed her skills working with esteemed chefs like Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto and pastry chef Eric Bedoucha. The bakery is celebrated for its exquisite customized cakes that cater to each client's specific desires.
Soma cakes is very professional. They respond quickly to emails and their cakes are delicious. I ordered a strawberry shortcake for my friends birthday to be delivered. They showed up on time and the cake looked exactly the way we wanted. I had no issues and definitely will be ordering from them again. I am so pleased. Update: I ordered again for my daughter’s sixth birthday. Again the service was great. The cupcakes were delivered on time and they looked just like the picture. The vanilla rainbow icing with the vanilla rainbow cupcake was delicious. Everyone was asking where I got them from.

I'm so glad Hiroyo has opened a shop in the city! I stopped by this weekend with a friend who's getting married next year and the shop looks amazing! Hiroyo has made my wedding cake, my son's first birthday cake, my best friend's wedding cake, and hopefully countless others that I have sent her way. The cakes are meticulously detailed and you can tell she really cares about the customer and their needs. She's also a real artist, she took the idea of for my son's birthday cake and made it 1000x better than I was imagining. Annnnd the cakes taste amazing as well. UPDATE: I took a class with the owner, Hiroyo, to sculpt a pumpkin cake! I can't believe I made this cake. Photo evidence attached. Although I did get a lot of help in making this beauty, I learned a lot in the class and Hiroyo is super fun and funny to be around. Highly recommend taking one of her classes if you're looking to improve your skills.

Thank you for our beautiful and delicious winter themed wedding cake! Hiroyo and her team knocked it out of the park. From initial contact to tasting to placing the order everything went smoothly and Soma cakes provided top notch customer service. The flavors were delicious and our guests loved them. I particularly recommend the green tea sponge.

I was fortunate to be able to sample their cupcake (this was a special treat as they normally do custom-made spectacular cakes). They were mind-bogglingly GOOD!!! Light, fluffy, moist, just the right level of sweetness and makes you smile throughout the day. Can't wait to order a custom cake!!

SOMA cakes made our wedding cake, and it turned out fantastic! It was a real pleasure working with Satoko who talked us through different flavors and designs to get exactly what we wanted. They were able to mix-and-match multiple flavors in one cake, and replicate design elements we liked from pinterest and elsewhere. The final product was gorgeous, and delicious!

I loved everything about this cake, from the details of the petals to the color scheme to the taste. The cake itself was delicious, we chose a vanilla cake with oreo stuffing frosting. You can taste the freshness and the cake was moist not dry like most beautiful cakes. The owner was super friendly and accommodating even though i showed up 48hrs before my event. I will definitely recommend this cake shop to everyone in NYC.

I wanted so badly to love the cake. The service was impeccable. They delivered on time and were very polite and helpful. The cake was beautiful. Stunning even. However, what i ordered- a vanilla cake with cookies n creme filling- was not up to par. It tasted like pure chemicals, or like nail polish. This was for my daughters 20th birthday on may 29. She was very disappointed and ultimately we threw the entire cake in the garbage. Money gone to waste unfortunately. I’ll advise anyone who wants to order from here to avoid the cookies and creme filling.

Ron Ben-Israel Cakes is a renowned designer specializing in custom wedding and special occasion cakes, available by appointment only. With a passion for confections ignited by his Viennese mother, Ron Ben-Israel has become an international leader in the industry since founding his couture bakery in 1999. His distinct cake designs have set trends for over two decades and are sought after worldwide.
The most amazing baker in all of NYC. Ron and his team were so welcoming, creative, thoughtful and paid so much attention to every single detail. People told us that our wedding cake was one of the best cakes they’ve ever eaten. Thank you Ron and team for everything you did for us!!
Matthew N — Google review
Ron and his team were wonderful to work with for our wedding. The cake was absolutely beautiful and incorporated elements from the bride’s dress, our custom-crest, and sugar flowers of the same varieties as the rest of the floral decor throughout the event. It was truly a masterpiece and took our breath away when we saw it. We also loved that we were able to build several flavors of cake and icing into each tier and our guests still talk about how unique and delicious their slices were. Although our partnership with Ron was included and and arranged through Tavern on the Green, we cannot recommend the RBI team enough for a beautiful wedding cake.
Greg C — Google review
My cake was the prettiest cake I have ever seen! The florals are so real some guests thought they were actual flowers! I had 4 tiers and 3 flavors of cake/icing which everyone raved about. They seemed surprised that such a pretty cake could taste good too. The designing of the cake was super easy and we got to try some samples that were not on the menu but made at our request and we did include them in our final cake design. Almond cake with cherry icing, chocolate cake with mint chocolate icing, and lemon cake with raspberry jam and wild berry icing. Amazing.
Cortney Z — Google review
Working with Ron always has been an incredible experience. His reputation as a top-tier wedding cake designer is well deserved. Each cake he designs is a masterpiece, combining stunning looks with great taste. Ron's cakes are the highlight of every wedding, and it's not just the couples who are impressed. As someone who's had the pleasure of seeing his work up close on multiple occasions, I can say his attention to detail and artistry are unmatched. It's not just about the cakes' appearance; they taste amazing too. You can tell he uses high-quality ingredients, and it shows in the flavor. Plus, Ron and his team are professionals through and through, making the whole process smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend Ron Ben Israel for anyone who wants a wedding cake that guests will talk about long after the wedding is over. His work is exceptional, and it's always a pleasure to collaborate with him.

We had a great experience with Ron Ben-Israel Bakeries, Bridals. They were very professional on their approach. Tasting was schedule way before the event, we was a very comprehensive and broad degustation. The day of the event we had the cake on time and it was beautiful, the taste of the flavors we selected were amazing! Everybody that we spoke to were complementing the cake. I truly recommended to use Ron Ben Israel.

I've ordered a chocolate mousse cake and a dark chocolate (with raspberry jelly) layer birthday cake, and also a Key Lime pie from Angie's Fairies Cakes and Parties.. The chocolate mousse cake was delicious with a fluffy, chocolatey middle, and a decadent chocolate shell with raspberries. The cake wasn't overly sweet and Angie also sprinkled the cake with edible gold sprinkles and bon-bons for that extra “luxe” touch. For a milestone 50th birthday, I ordered a layer cake on short notice--just a few days beforehand. Angie was able to complete the order on time, and even delivered it to the restaurant where the celebration was held! The cake itself was like an indulgent cocoa-lovers dream come true: dark chocolate topping with moist and airy sponge cake layered with raspberry jelly combined with vanilla buttercream frosting, white chocolate kisses, and fresh raspberries on top. Needless to say the birthday celebration was a success--YES! One of my favorite summer treats is key lime pie, and although pies aren't "on the list "of services, Angie agreed to make the specially requested pie. The 9” graham cracker crust pie had a sweet and delicately tart body, and it was delivered along with two mini key lime pies! Unfortunately I have no pictures of the pies because they were devoured quite quickly! If you're looking for baked goods that are a step above commercially available cakes, or have a special request that requires attention to detail, then Angie's Fairies delivers wonderful service and custom quality at a reasonable price. Highly recommended!

Ron Ben-Israel was highly recommended by our wedding venue, and so we met Ron and some of his staff in his studio in nyc for a cake tasting and design consultation. We were very impressed by his creativity and keen interest in creating a design that worked with our flowers, my bridal gown, the venue and our concept for the wedding. Also, the cake and frostings we tasted were delicious and hard to choose among all the options. In spite of the fact that we had seen examples of his artistry in his studio, when we saw our cake at the reception, the design and the artistry involved in creating the cake blew us away! Not only were the flowers created out of frosting stunningly realistic, Ron captured the lace on my bridal gown in icing. It was truly a work of art. We received many comments by our guests about our beautiful wedding cake. And of course, our cake was delicious!
June B — Google review
When you select Ron Ben-Israel to create a cake, you're choosing an experience that goes above and beyond. From the moment we walked into RBI's sprawling studio, (Greeted by Ron, himself!) we were completely enchanted by the incredible confectionary designs and superior hospitality by Ron and Elizabeth. Our tasting and design session went beautifully, and I truly have never ever had a more delicious cake. I am not typically a "cake" person, but Ron's cakes are in a class all their own. On our wedding day, our gorgeously constructed rose gold-accented cake had ourselves and the guests in awe. Looking back at it in the pictures is an absolute pleasure that we'll be able to experience forever. Thank you so much to Ron and Elizabeth for giving us a completely first-class experience and ensuring that we received the cake of our dreams!

Doughnut Plant is a unique bakery known for its handcrafted donuts in a variety of unusual flavors such as crème brûlée and tres leches. The shop offers an extensive selection of donuts that fall into different categories, including nostalgic, newfangled, cake, and yeasted options. The bakery's signature rose doughnuts with canele-like ridges and two-tone icing modeled after the iconic black-and-white cookie are particularly popular.
The staff were brilliant donuts were insanely good! Visiting from England. This is a must try in New York, especially the strawberry cheesecake.

Cute little donut shop that I wandered into on my way to meet a friend. Too bad there's not a lot of sitting room - it was definitely on the more cramped side but I can appreciate the effort on the donut related decors. The donuts themselves were also just so-so. Very unique and fun flavors but maybe it was because it was cold when I finally got to eating it, but it tasted a little dry.
Kat — Google review
The first time I discovered Doughnut Plant, I gave it 5 stars because they were truly the most spectacular doughnuts I had ever tried. Every time we planned a trip to New York, our reaction was always the same: “Yes! We’re going to eat Doughnut Plant!” But this time was a big disappointment. We went three times, and all three times were a bad experience. We visited three different locations, at different times of day, and unfortunately, the result was always the same. They used to stand out for their flavor, texture, and variety — they were really special — but now they just feel like any other doughnut shop. The crème brûlée no longer has that crispy top that made it unique, the vanilla bean was completely melted, and even the Valrhona hot chocolate, which used to be rich and intense, has lost its depth. At the Grand Street location, the service was particularly poor — the staff looked upset, served with bad attitude, and seemed annoyed all the time. This didn’t happen in the other two locations, where at least the service was polite. It honestly makes us sad, because for years this was our favorite place. Whenever friends or family came to New York, we always told them they couldn’t leave without trying these doughnuts. But now, unfortunately, that’s no longer the case. We want this to be a constructive review, because we truly value what Doughnut Plant once was. Hopefully, this is just a rough patch, and they’ll soon go back to being the best doughnuts — like they used to be.

We had to get a doughnut in New York and walking past this, and seeing what was on offer here, we decided to pop in. They had a wonderful selection, and it was impossible to choose. In the end, the 3 we went for were amazing. The PB and J doughnut was light fluffy and flavourful. I could have easily eaten more.

Creme brulee donut exceeded my expectations. The burnt sugar added a nice crunch to the soft exterior. The custard was creamy, soft and delicious. The atmosphere was of a small coffee shop. Rock was being played. The cashier was kind & enjoying the playlist making the vibe more comforting.

So impressed by the quality of Doughnut plants sourdough donuts!! I always go for sourdough as someone who has a gluten sensitivity, and these are simply amazing (refer to the photos to see how airy these bad boys are). I was absolutely amazed by the number of pastry, cookie, and cake options available here. After a trip to Italy I have been trying to replicate my experience by going to every Pasticceria I can find. We got here right before they were closing and the waiter seated us right away and took great care of us. This seems like a very popular place in the neighborhood. I felt like the prices were very reasonable and the few treats we ordered were very tasty.

Treated myself to my favorite—rainbow sprinkle cookies—and they were some of the worst I’ve ever had. They were way too thin, which gave them a hard, unpleasant crunch, and there was a strange aftertaste I couldn’t place. Not very sweet or buttery either. Overall just really disappointing, especially for the price.

Used to come here all the time. It's clear the family that owns it no longer works here. Stood in a long line, ok nothing new there. But a woman comes in, pushes me out of the way to grab a loaf of bread, pushes in front of me on the line, then when I explain what happened to the couldn't care less and do nothing worker behind the counter person, I walked out. Also, you were out of any meaningful amount of marzipan and I'm disappointed you seemed to ditch the Casatina cake around the time of the pandemic. Used to be good, and the space is renovated nicer than ever, but a giant disappointment these days. And I was really hoping to take some Marzipan back home to my partner. Guess it's Veniero's from now on.

Taiyaki NYC Japanese Ice Cream is a popular ice cream shop with locations in Chinatown, Williamsburg, and Flushing. They offer soft serve ice cream in fish-shaped cones inspired by traditional Japanese taiyaki pastries. The cones are filled with red bean paste or custard and topped with various treats like mochi cakes and wafer sticks.
My family and I stopped in to this ice cream shop because we wanted something sweet but different while we were visiting Chinatown in New York city. Everyone was very kind while serving us and the Japanese ice cream was uniquely delicious. The fish shaped cone had its own surprised at the very bottom, it was like some sort of custard but it was complimentary to the ice cream. There are a couple of benches for seating while you enjoy your ice cream, it is a small space but doable for about eight people all at once. There is no outside seating available. We would definitely recommend this buisness to anyone who enjoys ice cream because it's unique, delicious and flavorful. Thank you for your kindness, we wish you many years of success and hope to be back in town to enjoy more of your ice cream.

Trendy shop in lower Manhattan. Small store front but really good ice cream, especially on a hot day. The wait isn't long and the staff works quickly. They have a ton of options to pick, and everyone seemed to love their flavor. Not over priced considering how popular they are.

I've been here twice already. I love that they have fished shaped cones. I like the custard flavor better than their red bean flavor. I like the mango strawberry ice cream so I winded up getting it again. This time with my own options, instead of the one on the menu. Cool little spot in Chinatown to get ice cream treats in one of those cute 'fish shaped cone '. They don't have too many flavors but I got the chocolate tayaki cone with some chocolate syrup on top and a cookie added on top too . Really tasty . Especially on a hot day . This is actually on Baxter street right off Canal . Not too far from Broadway. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Nice place to stop for ice cream if you are in Chinatown area.

Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop is an old-school bakery located on Manhattan Avenue in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The bakery offers a wide variety of donuts and pastries, as well as shakes and egg creams. It has been a staple in the area since the 1950s and is currently owned by Donna and Christos Siafakas, who took over in 1993.
The iconic Peter Pan was packed on this perfect picturesque day. The donuts are huge, delicious and reasonably priced. The crazy long line moved super fast. Dressed in bright colored smocks the donut specialists (?) were friendly and easily handled the multiple hungry customers on line. These donuts are so so good. Enjoy

Everything is great about this place. First, the donut was really, really good. I tried the traditional glazed, and it was honestly incredible. Secondly, the service was super friendly and helpful. The girl behind the counter was really kind. Last but not least, it's hard to beat their prices, especially in NYC.
Aon — Google review
I was in the area so I finally stopped by Peter Pan Donuts. I tried the blueberry buttermilk donut first, and honestly, it was pretty dry. Mike’s Donuts in Bay Ridge definitely does a better blueberry donut. The apple crumble donut, though, totally saved the experience. It was excellent — the apple filling and pie crumb topping worked perfectly together, and it wasn’t overly sweet. Definitely the highlight. From what I saw (and tasted), their cake donuts seem to run on the dry side. I’d stick to their yeast donuts instead, since the sour cream, old fashioned, and chocolate cake donuts all looked dry too. Customer service was fine — not rude, but I did have to flag someone down to get served once seated. Overall: 3/5.
Abigail S — Google review
I was ready to be absolutely blown away by the doughnuts here and bought two to test both. Firstly, and perhaps my fault, the offer wasn’t as broad as I’d hoped due to selling out. I really wanted to try glazed/plain plus one of the jam options that I did try. On both doughnuts the pastry was exceptional - mixture of light and full of flavour. Jam was too much for me - felt too processed/thick/sugary. It’s a good offer so I’d recommend trying. Queue is long but moves quick so don’t be put off by that.
Katie M — Google review
We visited here on a Sunday morning around 11 am, just before the lunch rush. I was hoping to order an apple fritter, but they ran out, so I ordered a honey dip and a lemon filled donut, which was generously filled. The texture of the donuts was soft and chewy, making it a perfect snack! I loved the old-fashioned diner vibes with the barstools and decor. This joint was reasonably priced, especially considering the price of quality pastries in NYC, but I would definitely recommend visiting early in the morning for a greater selection of flavors. I would definitely recommend visiting Greenpoint Toys across the street with its wide array of toys for all ages.
Amanda W — Google review
I so wanted to like this place but the donuts were…. beyond mid. Their classic honey ring donut had an oily, unfresh taste and their blueberry cake donut was similarly gas station-like. The staff were super friendly and the retro vibe inside is very cute. My NYC donut search continues :(

Was recommended by NYPD cop and wanted to like it, but was trash food. Went there late AM July 28 and it was the first and only thing I ate that day. Had coffee, red velvet donut but marble cruller was off, really oily from the fryer and just bad tasting chocolate. But that was enough to upset stomach and started vomiting later so everything came out until nothing left. Otherwise, staff was wonderful, prices good, cool atmosphere... but we'll never go back.

Drawing inspiration from their grandmother's recipes, the sisters have perfected the art of pie-making, infusing each creation with an authentic homemade feel.
I love pie, and thus am hard to please. I feel like you can kinda get away with a crappy cake but pie holds itself to a higher, more sophisticated standard, and flaws are harder to hide. This was some of the best pie of my life. It was ABSOLUTELY the best pecan pie I've ever had, I now not only understand why people like pecan pie, but I'm now an avid fan myself. I need to get this bakeries book and learn the secrets to their crust because it is perfect. Honestly, there's not much more so say. We tried their lemon, matcha, chocolate pecan and their cranberry sage and every one could not have been improved upon. Flavors were sharp, strong, balanced, great, deep matcha, the lemon and cranberry were tart without being sour, the pecan was sweet without being too sweet (they brilliantly use bittersweet chocolate. I could probably tear through a whole one myself). It's pie done right. Smooth custard fillings, flakey gold crust. And because this place is a paradise full of magical dream people they gave us a to-go cup of whipped cream. I love them. Happy national pie day everybody. For a celebration destination, look no further than this fine place.

a must-visit for pie lovers 🥧. The crusts are buttery and flaky, and the creative seasonal flavors make each slice special. A cozy spot that always feels like a treat.

I wish I had a better photo of the rhubarb pie - it’s beautiful and most importantly it tasted amazing. Finding just rhubarb pie is hard and finding it out of season in late September is even harder. I am so glad I could pre order this for my boyfriend’s birthday. It’s his favorite that his mom makes and he is so picky about pies but was really happy with one. Sweet and tart with perfect crust and crumble. Thank you guys for making it a great birthday
Julia C — Google review
I’ve enjoyed their delicious and decadent pies in the past but yesterday I had picked up a blueberry pie I had ordered 2 days before. The blueberries were plentiful and delicious and the pie crust was unbelievably fabulous. I think this is the best blueberry pie I’ve ever had. Thank you. I’ll be back!
LadyTyrol — Google review
Super cute, nice staff, and inviting atmosphere. I've been to a lot of places where the "community table" seating is uncomfortable and awkward, but the one they have here is genuinely wonderful. The menu's definitely a bit pricey, but it's a really nice space to come for a treat and get some work done.
Winsome J — Google review
Great pies at a reasonable price! The matcha custard pie is my favorite!
Lulu — Google review
The pies from this place are amazingly delicious! My favorite is the Lemon Chess Pie - the best! This last time we had a cappuccino from Variety Coffee - the perfect temperature for a rainy morning. Where some places overheat their capps, here, they definitely make cappuccinos right. Also, my husband & I shared a Blueberry Lemon Muffin and Brown Butter Apple Strudel. Both were scrumptious Fall treats. The place is pretty and rustic with plenty of seating. The staff are always friendly!
Adriana P — Google review
Came all the way from NJ expecting a warm slice of pie, but the service was kinda cold. Latte wasn’t hot, pie wasn’t warmed up, and no one offered. You’d think a pie shop would be all about warmth. Anyway it’s my second visit, not great.

Bien Cuit is a renowned NYC bakery known for its exceptional French-inspired baked goods. The James Beard-nominated breads, particularly the miche extra-fermented sourdough, have earned high praise. Using local ingredients and a small-batch mixing method, the bakery produces hard-crusted loaves with buttery, flaky crumbs. Their baguettes and pastries are also highly regarded.
Good job everyone! Bravo. You've had pizza all around New York but you've not had pizza on puff pastries before. That's for sure but this is the place you come to to see that happen. It tastes amazing. Really good.
Duran S — Google review
“Bien Cuit” means “well done” and that’s exactly what this bakery is. This humble storefront often has a delicious aroma that draws pedestrians in from the street. Their baked goods are extensive and amazing. There are both savory and sweet options. The breads are small batch and baked daily on premise. The design and branding is tastefully done; much like their food. I ordered a cafe mocha ☕️ paired with a financier wrapped with a chocolate bar filling… as you guessed, I’m a chocolate fan! Much of the real estate is taken up by their baking operations hence the lack of seating nor restroom. There’s a small selection of market items which adds a nice touch. In the late afternoon, I’ve also had their ham sandwich on baguette 🥖 which is also excellent. Overall, Bien Cuit is a winner, highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
LIEM — Google review
I love Bien Cuit! I used to live in this neighborhood and got treats from here every so often. I ALWAYS got the almond croissant , which I love. I recently stopped by and decided to venture out into some newness and got the pastry in the photo. It was a tasty mix of sour , sweet and salty. Good , but not something I’ll get to be honest. Definitely a must visit overall though!
Lo — Google review
No seating but worth going every day. Excellent coffee, croissant and must try the zaatar n lemon scone. Service with pride.
Hassan E — Google review
Paid $9 for a chocolate almond croissant, which was only alright -- I can't justify the price. Definitely on the sweeter end, and I didn't really taste a difference even with their "bien cuit"/well done style of baking. Overall a decent, but not must-try, croissant.
Irene Z — Google review
I've never had such a mid $8 pain au chocolat. I'm not sure if the pastry was stale, but the croissant was tough, not flaky. Every blue moon, I try and give this place a chance, but frankly they're egregiously expensive for a mediocre product.
Rylee F — Google review
When I heard about Bien Cuit I said to myself I have to go. It's super cute place with tables that you can sit and enjoy your coffee and croissant. The products are delicious, well backed and crispy! I took a traditional croissant with butter and jam and daniish with asparagus and cheese, delicious!!
Hen C — Google review
I smelled something delicious on the street so I had to walk in and try something here. I ordered one croissant but the guy gave me 3 for the price of 1, and they were delicious. Highly recommend.

Milk Bar is a renowned bakery known for its inventive and quirky desserts created by pastry chef Christina Tosi. Since its opening in 2008, it has become famous for iconic New York treats like Crack Pie and Naked Layer Cakes. One of their most popular creations is the Cereal Milk Soft Serve, which tastes exactly like the milk left after finishing a bowl of cornflakes.
Every time I’m in New York I have to get milk bars, cereal, ice cream! It is truly so good, there is nothing like it. The location in Nolita is a very cute walk up window with really lovely staff. The prices are reasonable, and they now have matchboxes!
Harrison C — Google review
Great service, very friendly! I absolutely loved the corn cookie (Make sure you try it warm). The cereal milk soft serve was interesting. I wasn’t expecting the addition of salt but still tasty.
Bethanie J — Google review
I’ve got nooo respect for a free offering for a 5 star Google review. I hateee when places do that. So the ratings are very inflated. The soft serve just didn’t quite hit. That said, “lemon merengue” is very accurate. It really tastes like that. But it kind of left a weird aftertaste and gave both us a stomach ache. For $7.50, I’d say the soft serve is just not worth it. We also got 2 cookies.
Cassia A — Google review
Very clean smells amazing ! Diana was a great help and assisted me very quickly and efficiently. I got 3 cookies for 9$ better than most places in nyc
June B — Google review
Fast and great customer service! Reuben was amazing! The lemon meringue pie ice cream was perfect for such a hot and sunny day.

Milk bar was amazing! Donavan was so friendly it made the experience that much better. Props to the team for making it a go to dessert
Howard H — Google review
Milk Bar is an absolute must-visit in NYC! Their signature Cereal Milk soft serve is a nostalgic dream, and the Birthday Cake is hands-down one of the best desserts I’ve ever had—moist, flavorful, and perfectly sweet. The Compost Cookie is another winner, packed with an addictively delicious mix of sweet and salty flavors. The staff is friendly, the vibe is fun, and every bite is pure happiness. Whether you’re a first-timer or a longtime fan, Milk Bar never disappoints. Highly recommend!

Pilar Cuban Eatery is a delightful culinary gem that has quickly become a favorite for many. This charming spot offers an array of mouthwatering options, from savory empanadas to delectable guava pastries, perfect for those on the go. The eatery features both indoor and outdoor seating, making it an inviting place to enjoy a meal or snack. Patrons rave about the warm atmosphere and exceptional service provided by staff like Chris, who truly enhance the dining experience.
There’s two parts: Pilar Cuban Bakery and Pilar Cuban Eater (restaurant). There’s a bakery that is made for to-go food but there are some indoor seating as well, and then there’s a restaurant that is next door (there’s a different door to enter the restaurant). The bakery looked cute and I would definitely come back for a quick meal/snack. The outdoor seating seems to be made for both the bakery and the restaurant.

...wow!! So so happy this is now a thing. If you know anything about Pilar the restaurant (on corner) you know how delicious their food and drinks are!! Sometimes I've wanted an empanada on the go....and now my wish has come true! Empanadas galore, coffee and the like, guava pastries and more. And MUCH LOVE to Chris for providing excellent service today!!! Good service is hard to get these days, so I cherish ya Chris!!

Really good food. The mojitos were great too. I had the vaca frita and it was very tasty and the plantains were some of the best I ever had. Only gripe was it was a bit pricey for portions. Would definitely visit again if I am in the area. The smell inside of the restaurant took me back to the Caribbean. They definitely nailed the vibe.

Everything here is so good! From the ham croquettes to the Cuban sandwich to the rice & beans - everything is crazy insanely yummy good.

I come to New York pretty frequently and I'm always trying to find the best go-to coffee spot/place to eat when I'm in town. After plenty of misses, I've finally found a hit! Pilar Cuban Bakery is my favorite place in NYC (not just Brooklyn)! I was treated so warmly and with more kindness than I have ever experienced, by both the staff and the customers! I felt at home as soon as I walked in. The young woman who helped me the past two days was very kind and patient with questions about the coffee and food and offered suggestions about what she thought I might like -- which is something I'm not very used to. Her passion and excitement for being there was refreshing to see, and made me excited to be there too! I will definitely be coming back every time I'm in town! And I've already spread the word about Pilar to friends and family! Thanks for such a great experience, coffee, and food!

Very good café con leche + Spinach and Cheese empanada.
Anandi P — Google review
The Cuban sandwiches are delicious. My husband orders them and basically requests the works. That includes the egg and the avocado. Trust me it was good! As far as the deserts I am sold on the key lime pie. I’ve made them from scratch and theirs is just as good.
Brenda V — Google review
I really like this place. The staff is divine. Great manner. The sandwiches are delicious. The only three stars is because whenever here, early in the day, middle of the day, afternoon, whenever in the day, they are understaffed and the wonderful staff is overwhelmed/ stressed. One day an alarm was repeatedly going off - as in a low battery for a smoke alarm. I went in twice - early and after lunch. Alarm still beeping. No one to attend to things. If chaos is what you’re after then this works!
