Ukrainian restaurant
Breakfast restaurant
Diner
Veselka is a lively Ukrainian eatery located at the corner of Second Avenue and Ninth Street in the East Village, offering traditional Ukrainian food since 1954. The restaurant's rustic vibe and murals on the walls create a cozy atmosphere for diners.
Best perogies you can find. I ate like 6 of them. I need to lie down but I’d do it all over again and likely will. Beef stroganoff was 👌👌👌 And the honey cake dessert thing was unreal. 🍰 Definitely should go. 🇺🇦💛💙
Melissa M — Google review
I will say it again if it's this popular it cannot be that good. Go here with someone who has never had Ukrainian food before and they will love it, very good intro to Ukrainian food for newbie. the meats should have had more flavor. Sauerkraut was lacking fermentation taste. I enjoyed the borscht and the mushroom sauce.
Emily D — Google review
Veselka had a nice vibe with a lot of energy. It was busy but not stressful. The pierogi were the highlight, soft and full of flavor. The borscht was also very good, fresh and comforting. The schnitzel was fine, and the potato pancake was really good, crispy outside and soft inside. I didn’t care much for the beef stroganoff, it felt too heavy and not very flavorful. The service was a bit slow but the staff were friendly. Overall, it’s a lively spot with good food and a few dishes worth coming back for.
Massimo — Google review
I loved and still love Veselka after all of the years. The borscht always hits. I wish they used better Ukrainian bread and not American bread. The dumplings are always yummy and tender. Latkes or potato pancakes are so fluffy - one of the best ones I have ever had even in comparison with my grandmas and that says a lot. Today I tried beef Stroganoff for the first time and I was disappointed but wasn't fully satisfied. I like everything except the meat because of how not tender it was. Medovyk is always to die for!!!
Artem B — Google review
Normally I will get something more authentic, and it's always really, really good. Today I wanted to get the burger, which I was very skeptical of, but it was fantastic. The meat was cooked perfectly, the bun was very soft, abs the Ukrainian dressing added a very unique flavor. Fantastic.
Robert R — Google review
Great place for some authentic Ukrainian food! They had a spicy chicken entree and the waiter warned me 3 times that it trusty is incredibly spicy and boy was she right! I do wish that the blueberry vareniki weren’t seasonal they are absolutely amazing. But great place for some Ukrainian cuisine.
Daniel S — Google review
This is a happy eatery with authentic cuisine served in a classy way. There is limited space inside, so lunches are packed. Plenty of seating outside available. Breakfasts are fabulous.
Yevgeny K — Google review
Our second time here, and this time was for dinner. A short line but wait was not bad. Menu has gf and v labels, so that was helpful. Food seems to be simply prepared and arrives very quickly. One gf dessert, which was a cherry and chocolate flourless cake. Friendly staff.

Caribbean restaurant
Restaurant
Miss Lily's 7A Cafe is a vibrant Caribbean eatery in the heart of New York City, offering island-inspired cocktails and a menu filled with Caribbean delicacies. The bright and colorful space exudes a beach-shack vibe, creating an inviting atmosphere for diners. The restaurant serves up classic dishes with a modern twist, such as Jamaican rancheros, jerk pork-belly hash, oxtail stew, fried chicken and waffles, and jerk chicken roti.
Miss Lily’s never misses! The vibes are always on point great music, fun atmosphere, and the food? Chef’s kiss. The jerk chicken and oxtail are packed with flavor, and the cocktails are just as amazing. Staff is friendly and the energy is unmatched. If you’re looking for a spot with authentic Caribbean flavor and a good time, Miss Lily’s is it. Highly recommend!
Crissy T — Google review
The BEST meal I had during my last visit to NY! I had the pleasure of dinning at this gem during restaurant week! Everything about it is a win! Let’s first start with the amazing service! Every staff was friendly and provided recommendable service from the moment we walked in! The ambiance : they have a corner spot so it’s perfect for those that like to enjoy a meal outside. The patio area is cute as is the indoor area. Think bright colors and carribean vibes! Now for the food- simply put, I was blown away! Admittedly I was not expecting much from this spot, but boy was I wrong!! I started with a watermelon salad and ordered the jerk chicken with veggies as my main meal! Now I know you are thinking what can be so special about a watermelon salad? It was just good! I appreciated every ingredient included ! It was very refreshing. My favorite part of the meal was the jerk chicken. Hands down the BEST jerk chicken I have ever had! It is tender and full of flavor !! When I say I finished this meal and left no crumbs it was that good!!! My sister had the jerk mushroom lettuce wraps. Her entree was the friend snapper and to end it off she had rum cake! I have to admit I enjoyed my meal more ! However her food was good too! I really enjoyed the aioli sauce that accompanied the fish entree. NOTE: for restaurant week you can opt to order off the restaurant week menu. It is 3 courses for $45! The only item I would not order again is the rum cake! It was not your traditional Caribbean rum cake. It is more of a white cake with coconut flavors. I could not taste the rum. While the cake was moist and generally a good cake/ it was just not what I expected for rum cake. To sum everything up, you MUST visit Ms. Lilly’s!! It’s 10’s across the board for me ! I will be stopping by the next time I am in the city? There is so much I want to try!
K. F — Google review
I’ve visited for brunch before, but I’d always wanted to experience dinner here—and during Restaurant Week, it did not disappoint. The thoughtfully designed décor and inviting ambiance set the perfect tone for our meal. We dined later in the evening, which gave the space a calm, relaxed energy, complemented by the smooth sounds of old-school reggae playing in the background. The cocktails were both strong and well-crafted, adding a nice touch to the evening. I wouldn’t recommend this spot for parties larger than four indoors, as the space is more intimate. The outdoor seating can accommodate groups up to six, though it did appear a bit snug. If you’re craving authentic Jamaican cuisine, this is a must-visit. According to my partner—who may be slightly biased as a proud Jamaican—it’s home to the best jerk chicken in all five boroughs.
Mekayah L — Google review
Miss Lily’s is one of the most consistent Jamaican restaurants you’ll find in Manhattan. Everything on the menu is always available which is rare for a Jamaican spot! The food is very good, and you can tell they take pride in maintaining quality. The aki and saltfish leans more on the saltfish side they’re not too heavy on the aki but it’s still delicious and well-seasoned. The roti is always soft and fresh, which is a big plus. The decor really captures the vibe of a bar straight out of Jamaica colorful, lively, and full of energy. On weekends, there’s usually a live DJ playing great dancehall and reggae, adding to the island feel. Overall, Miss Lily’s delivers both in atmosphere and flavor a must-visit if you want a true taste of Jamaica in NYC. 🇯🇲🔥
John G — Google review
A great, casual spot with cool vibes for Jamaican food. We went for brunch and loved it. I've had my fair share of Jamaican food in NYC and Jamaica and will share that while there was a different twist, food flavors were on point. We shared the Jerk Chicken roti - a burrito stuffed with all the Jamaican flavors - and the Jamaican breakfast. The ackee and saltfish, steamed veggies and plantain were great. The only thing we didn't love was the festival (it was a little heavy...I prefer fried or boiled dumplings with this kind of breakfast). We both had sorrel ginger beers to drink. These were fine (light on the sorrel flavor). Service was lovely and the decor and music just right.

Came for the restaurant week brunch. Excellent ambiance, DJ/music, food/drinks, and service! I enjoyed a three-course meal — Codfish fritters, Jamaican breakfast, and coconut cream rum cake. I drank a rum punch. Everything was flavorful! Definitely returning for brunch and other dining times.
Adrienne E — Google review
I can’t say enough good things about the good eats, service by our waitress Bri, and atmosphere at Lily’s Restaurant. As a person that has to eat gluten free foods, I was pleasantly surprised to find several GF options on the menu! They were all YUMMY!!! They even have a chocolate GF dessert option that was rich and plantain based! I can’t wait to go back there. Great experience!

Jerk chicken was delicious must get. Oxtail stew was all right, not much flavor and consistency was not thick.

Ethiopian restaurant
East African restaurant
Queen of Sheba is an Ethiopian restaurant located near Times Square in Midtown Manhattan. The eatery offers spicy stews and traditional Ethiopian meals that can be enjoyed with flatbread. Owner and Executive Chef Philipos Mengistu, known as an Ambassador of Ethiopian food, shares his family recipes and culture through the dishes served at the restaurant. Guests can try vegetarian or meat sampler platters along with gluten-free injera and Ethiopian sangria.
Such an amazing restaurant! The food is incredible and the staff is very nice and helpful. The restaurant itself is very charming. I’ve been here many times over the years and it is always consistently delicious.
Michael E — Google review
I was in need of some comfort food this weekend because it was 2 degrees and the wind was blasting like a rocket engine so I sought out some of the best of the best- Ethiopian food. I've been making my way around different ethiopian spots in the city and haven't hit a bad one yet, this lovely place included, of course. I got the vegetarian combo to go, plated it myself, which is why it looks so terrible in the picture. But don't let that fool you, this was some great food. Hearty, balanced, flavorful, exactly what I needed to keep my spirits high in these weird frigid waves of winter. Side note to myself to trust the people portioning these things. I always ask for extra injera. I never need it. They know what they're doing. They already give you enough injera. The injera here is very solid, I do like a really sharp, sour one myself but this was still plush and heavenly and had a great lil tang, went perfect with everything. Great meal, and the servers working there were welcoming and friendly. Very solid spot to wash away some winter blues.
Siena W — Google review
I enjoyed this dinner experience, the lady waiters were very helpful in aiding us decide what to order. We were a party of three. So we ended ordering one veggie sampler for one, awaze tibs (leg of lamb) and tibs wot (spicy beef). It was plenty for the us. We ordered sliced jalapeño and mitmita powder. So we dipped the pancake bread on the mitmita and then picked the meat or veggie. To drink we had ethiopian beer which is somewhat sweet. The restaurant is small, busy and somewhat basic. But their kitchen was delicious and well made.

I LOVE QUEEN OF SHEBA ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️5/5 This is a must go for me anytime I’m in NYC. My favorite Ethiopian restaurant I have tried. The food is so flavorful and spiced to perfection. We got the taste of Sheba for 32$ and it was absolutely delicious!!
Alisha T — Google review
Loved the 'Taste of Sheba' combination platter of beef, lamb & veggie dishes served on a giant injera! The ground beef dish (menchet abesh wot) in a slightly spicy green pepper, red wine and jalapeño sauce is excellent. Beef in Chickpea gravy (bozena shiro) is also flavorful. Surprised at the excellent taste of the veggie dishes (steamed collard greens & yellow split chickpeas simmered in turmeric& ginger sauce). Fantastic introduction to Ethiopian cuisine!
Ravi S — Google review
I ate at Queen of Sheba, an Ethiopian restaurant, and really enjoyed it. The place felt warm and welcoming. They have a lot of traditional Ethiopian food to choose from. I tried a mix of different dishes with something called injera, a kind of bread that you use to pick up the food. The food had a lot of flavors, spicy but not too much. The people working there were very nice and helped us choose what to eat. They seemed happy to share their food and culture with us.The meal wasn't too expensive, and I got to try lots of things. Portion sizes were good enough to make us pack leftovers.
Kundan S — Google review
First time trying Ethiopian food and I’d say this is a good place to start. They offer sampler plates with both meat and vegetarian options so you can try out a variety of their dishes. Tasty food and good presentation, would definitely recommend.
Anson T — Google review
This place is terrible, DO NOT go there! The food is flavorful, but the two other people in my party that eat Ethiopian food more frequently said it was just "okay" as in mediocre and certainly not worth the terrible service. I never met our waitress because we didn't have one. Everytime I needed something I had to get up and walk over to the bar to ask for it. Then I would not receive what I asked for in a timely fashion or it was just wrong. I ordered a hot pocket samosa type thing called "Sambousa" and I wanted the meat version, but they brought the Lentil version. The outside was burnt. I also wanted a cappuccio which they did not bring. They took forever to grab the bill. They also included an 18 percent tip without saying anything which is generous considering I would have left a 15 percent tip. They called it "service charges" like we are using uber eats out here. In fact I thought to even leave less because again as far as I am concerned we didn't have a waitress. I was technically the one running around to place the orders. So we ended up giving 36% to a ghost. I think the whole thing is a scam and doesn't incentivise them to give good service so they don't. There were also a ton of fruit flies inside and if I am not mistaken their health grade is "pending". There are a lot of other Ethiopian restaurants to try in the city and I suggest you do because this place should not be in business. The taste of the food is one thing, but amoral practices are another. This place is not the "Queen of Sheba", it's the Pauper of Sheba and it made a fool out of me and my closest friends. Disgusting...

Persian restaurant
Middle Eastern restaurant
Restaurant
Ravagh Persian Grill is a laid-back eatery that has been a staple for New Yorkers for generations. With multiple locations in the city and Long Island, it's a great place to experience authentic Tehran cuisine. The menu features kebabs, grilled meat plates, salads, and rice dishes. Diners rave about the jujeh kebab, marinated Cornish hen, and the sambuseh, a Persian take on samosas with chickpeas and herbs.
I liked Ravagh because of its high quality food, great taste, and good vibes. We have dad a Combination Kabob which portion size was enough for two to three people. The whole fish was so tasty. All staffs were kind and respectful. This place is highly recommended.

From beginning to end, our experience at this restaurant was a mess. We had an 8:30 PM reservation but were told to wait outside because our table wasn’t ready. We weren’t seated until almost 9 PM 30 minutes late because the previous guests hadn’t left yet. Honestly, what’s the point of making a reservation if they can’t honor it? Once inside, the atmosphere was off. There was bugs on the walls, which was really unsettling and made it hard to feel comfortable. Then came the food… or should I say, the lack of flavor. Everything tasted bland, like they forgot the salt and seasoning altogether. And for how expensive it was, I expected much better quality. Overall, I wouldn’t go back. Disappointing on every level.

It was my first time Persian meal. From the moment we walked in, the hostess welcomed us with a genuine smile and seated us right away. The staff was attentive, always making sure we had water and checking in at the perfect times, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the dark meat chicken kebabs, which came with half zeresh rice and half grill vegetables — the spices were incredible and the portion was generous. To finish, we shared Persian ice cream, baklava, and special Persian tea, which was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. Between the delicious food and the thoughtful service!!!, I would gladly return to this restaurant again! See you soon!

The place is overpriced for the quality and quantity of food you get. We went there on Saturday night - worst time. The kitchen was overwhelmed. The service was marginal. Overall not impressed….. they added 20% service charge. Candidly, they don’t deserve 1% The restaurant management is dysfunctional. They need to do better job managing reservations and add Real Persians food items….. humus is NOT

If you enjoy exploring different cuisines, Persian cuisine should definitely be on your list. I’d recommend ordering the meat medium, and the rice options are generally quite well done. In my opinion, this place is the right address for some of the best Persian food in town! Chef’s recommendation!!you won’t regret it!

I was in Manhattan for business and had dinner at Ravagh Persian Grill. I ordered the barg kabab with mast-o-mosir, and it was outstanding the meat was tender, flavorful, and easily one of the best I’ve had. The side rice was perfectly cooked and the yogurt dip added a nice balance. The restaurant itself is very clean and has a comfortable, slightly upscale feel without being over the top. Service was smooth and the food came out fresh. Portions are generous, and you can tell everything is prepared with care. If you’re in the city and craving authentic Persian food, Ravagh is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be back on my next trip to Manhattan.

Pricy but very nice Barg Kabab, and chicken Shish kababs. Maybe one of best. Koobideh was not that good ( has zireh spice in it). Kashke bademjan was delicious too Also their faloodeh and baklavas are super delicious Kudos to the management for professional training of staff and their spectacular service

First time here after hearing great things about this place from colleagues. The food was very gratifying, and the service was excellent! We ordered Stuffed Pepper, Chicken Sutalni and Lamb Shank. The sauces in Stuffed Pepper and Lamb Shank were flavorful yet light -- they didn't leave us feeling heavy or thirsty. The meat in all three dishes were tender and juicy. We also tried the chocolate lava cake - delightfully delicious without being overly sweet! The staff and the manager, Moises, were very attentive and hospitable! Definitely a place we'd come back to again!

Yemeni restaurant
Cafe
Chicken restaurant
Yemen Café & Restaurant is a renowned establishment in NYC's halal dining scene, boasting a rich history and authentic Yemeni cuisine. Since the '80s, it has been a beloved landmark, attracting both immigrants and those new to Yemeni food. The restaurant takes pride in being the nation's first Yemeni eatery, offering an upscale yet unpretentious atmosphere that captures the essence of Yemeni culture.
This place is consistently amazing. I’ve been eating here for years. Order anything, it’ll be great. Opened in 1986, they are the first Yemeni restaurant in the US. There is a self-serve water (metal cups) and hot tea (paper cups) station to the back right-hand portion of the restaurant. The tea is labeled “Yemeni Style Hot Tea” on the menu. It is a slightly sweetened black tea likely spiced with cardamom, clove, and the slightest bit of cinnamon. As soon as you’re seated you will get a small dish of lemon wedges and spicy, fresh Yemeni Zahawig (salsa). Shortly thereafter, you’ll get Marag (soup) and bread. The Marag is a deep and rich lamb broth with onions - squeeze a lemon wedge into your soup and feel free to use the Zahawig to spice to taste. The Zahawig is likely tomato, jalapeño, cilantro, and a couple other surprises. It is excitingly spicy for a table “salsa” and tastes like it is made fresh. The bread is crispy on the bottom and the edges. It holds up very well to everything you’ll use it to dip and pile on during your meal. It’s a giant, round flatbread that your entire table will tear at and enjoy. There are a lot of vegetarian dishes that are fun to share: hummus, baba ghanoush, a vegetarian entree which is a vegetable stew served over rice with salad. The hummus is smooth and doesn’t need salt, perfect as is, very delicately seasoned. The baba ghanoush is so refreshing. Foul is a very fun dish to order. This is a tiny pot of mashed fava beans that are sautéed with tomatoes and onions and comes out bubbling. It is very well-balanced. Fasoolia is white kidney beans sautéed with onions, garlic, tomatoes, cumin, and minced scallions. One of my favorites. Everyone who has eaten the meat here has loved it and raved about its tenderness. Make sure you try all the things. They are open later than many places in the neighborhood (11:30pm). I love coming here.

The best Yemenis restaurant in NY. The food is amazingly delicious. Large portions of food. Fresh bread, I believe they make the bread in the restaurant. Tentative and welcoming staff. This was my first time going to this restaurant but I will definitely go back again. The area is very nice with plenty of restaurants and coffee shops.
Hiyam H — Google review
The level of hospitality these people offer is -to my experience- unmatched! They serve the guests free (yes free!) fresh baked bread with beef broth soup and some amazing side of pickled vegetables and lemons once you sit at your table, and the tea is also charge free and self serve! They also bring a free dish of side salad topped with the same yummy pickled chopped vegetables. The food is AMAZING, specifically the rice, which I could just continue eating forever! We were mainly surprised by how kind, generous and welcoming these people are. Will definitely go back!

The food was good overall, though not exactly to my taste. I ordered Fahsa Laham, which was excellent and truly authentic, just like the ones I’ve had in the Middle East. The charcoal-grilled chicken and chicken haneeth were decent but a bit bland; they could’ve used more spice. The atmosphere was really nice, and they offered complimentary black tea, which was a great touch. The food was a little pricey, understandable for Brooklyn.. but I felt the taste didn’t quite match the cost.
Anas Y — Google review
TLDR: I haven't even eaten there but wow was it good. Definitely will be returning, the baba ghanoush and both the lamb leg/stews were insane. Had this delivery at a friend's place and wow - everything was so tasty. Each order comes with this huge toasty pita that's perfect to mop up the sauces and plates. The baba ghanoush was the first thing I tried and I loved the texture. Not overly whipped or too smokey. Kinda of like rice pudding without the grains, that's just how it felt as I dragged the pita through it. The fahsah was this incredibly tender lamb stew that was my favorite. It's got a decent kick to it and that rich deep flavor. The lamb leg was also delicious, the edges are crispy but the meat literally falls off the bone. The chicken curry was tasty too along with the grilled fish. I can see why this place is popular, definitely will visit one of their locations again in-person.
Patrick W — Google review
This is a type of place that I love and reminds me a lot of the restaurants I grew up with in South Brooklyn - made for groups and to share laughs and good food. We heard a lot of good things about the Haneeth which was good but the show stopped was the Fahsah, that was unique and delicious. Everything else was cozy and filling dishes and were just okay. I’m looking forward to coming back just for the Fahsah in the near future.
Andrew D — Google review
Delicious and authentic Yemeni food! The chicken Haneth was tender and full of flavor, and the rice was good too. Portions were generous, and they even serve beards and soup complimentary sides. fattah with honey as dessert was just perfect along with the self service perfect tea. Friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere — highly recommended!
Mohammed A — Google review
Yemen Café had been on my list for a long time, and I finally got the chance to visit a few days ago when we were in NYC. The only issue with that part of Brooklyn is parking, but we got lucky and found a spot right in front of the restaurant. As soon as you’re seated, they serve warm bread and a bowl of lamb soup and the two go perfectly together. The soup has just the right balance of spices. We ordered a few dishes, but the highlight for us was definitely the lamb haneeth. The meat was super tender and full of flavor. The place is very clean, the service is excellent, and don’t forget the complimentary tea it’s the perfect way to finish your meal. Overall, it’s a great spot to experience authentic Yemeni cuisine.

Thai Diner, a popular restaurant known for its classic Thai cuisine and drinks, offers a unique dining experience in a retro diner-style setting. The breakfast menu, available on weekdays, features familiar brunch favorites like the egg sandwich with sai oua sausage on roti as well as exclusive items such as vegan coconut pancakes served with pandan and guava custards.
Very good food. Really like their Green papaya salad (must-try). Disco fries are pretty good too. Laab is on the spicier side, but it’s very flavorful. Laab comes with a bowl of wild rice. But due to its spice and flavor, I would order additional bowl of rice if you are in a group of 2-4 people.

We had a nice experience at Thai Diner. We came in around 6 PM on a Tuesday and were seated right away at an outdoor table for four. The hostess and our server were very friendly and welcoming. The interior was very cool and atmospheric. We ordered the Panang curry, Pad See Ew, and Thai iced tea. The curry was aromatic and spicy, with tender beef and a generous portion of meat. Everything was enjoyable, though it’s probably not a place I’d go out of my way to return to. Still, solid food and a pleasant evening.

We came here for breakfast. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. I liked the welcoming staff, very nice. The food was okay. I very much enjoyed my crispy rice eggs, it was great. My french toast was underwhelming. The taste didn’t suit me. But the egg sandwich was enjoyable. The original sauces for everything are unique and tasty.

I came here on a seasonal and dry Saturday night in late October around 830pm with a friend who was in town visit. We didn’t have a reservation and there was a wait for a table which we were quoted by the host from the little host window to be 45 minutes. We decided to walk around Soho while we waited as they text you when the table is ready and then you have 10 minutes to claim the table. After i put the phone in my pocket to walk around and wait, I was texted 3 minutes later to say my table was ready… but unfortunately I didn’t see the message until 15 minutes after I put my phone in my pocket. We walked back to the restaurant and we were told we could have a seat at the counter which we took. The counter was great although the service was a little light and slow but I think that might be a theme throughout the restaurant. The restaurant was filled with young people but not super loud. The cocktail I had was good. The food was fine; not really remarkable compared to any other Thai restaurants throughout the city that can easily book reservations. I would not recommend the fries everyone talks about. The decor of the restaurant was cool. I’m glad I went, but I probably wouldn’t go back unless someone else initiated the meal.

I had high expectations for the disco fries. They were good but I don’t know if it was my favorite combo. I got the dessert the coconut sundae and it was incredible! The staff was really accommodating and nice and the inside was really fun. They do have a bit of a. Wait for food but overall a great experience. I’d want to come back and try more food.

this is one of my go-to places for brunch. i really enjoy their thai twist on brunch foods. i used to come all the time for their thai babka french toast but they have changed it to an elephant ear french toast which essentially felt kind of like a crispier cinnamon roll, and i loved it. their disco fries are also a must try and this time we also tried the panang neuh which was super flavorful and tender.
Lori L — Google review
We came here for brunch. Just be aware. They don't take reservations, just walk ins, so be prepared to wait. This was actually our second try if you want to get seated right away, come early. Otherwise, the wait can be up to 2 hours. This time we got lucky and didn't wait too long. The restaurant is cute, but it's small and seating is limited. We tried quite a few dishes such as Uncle Boon's Crab Fried Rice, coconut chicken thailandese, thai tea babka french toast, disco fries, Pha Thai with Crispy Fried Chicken, Crispy Eggplant Maytinee, Rooibos and Chrysanthemum Tea. Our favorites were the roti, crispy fried chicken, eggplant, and the fried rice. The disco fries were also really good. The Phat Thai was decent, but had a too much peanut for my taste. The babka French toast was a miss for me it was too dry and the spread had an odd flavor. Overall, it's a cool spot to check out if you're into Thai food and don't mind a wait. There are definitely other great Thai places around too, especially if you're short on time. Staff were nice but understandable can be very busy.

Absolutely worst place we have tried in NY. i saw someone i follow on instagram recommend the place and decided to check it out. Learned the hard way. Terrible food. Too sweet (both the dishes we tried) service was terrible. They never checked on us and we had to hunt them down to get us the menu or even the check. Im 7 months pregnant and they crammed us in this tight space. I was going to suck it up but it got so uncomfortable and i had to say something and when i said something the guy made a face and said something like couldnt u say something before u ordered?! And another girl came and sat us at the bar. We decided not to let that ruin our lunch but as soon as the food came it was another big disappointment. Terrible food. I can honestly say it was the worst thai place ive ever been to. We left without even eating half of it. I was wrong to go by an instagramers recommendation.

Zutto Japanese Ramen Sushi Bar is a cozy spot located in Nolita, also known as Little Italy. The restaurant offers a variety of options including cocktails, steamed buns, customizable ramen, and an extensive sushi menu. The warm brick-lined space provides the perfect setting to enjoy their culinary delights. Their ramen is particularly noteworthy, with rich umami broth and chewy yet soft noodles creating a comforting bowl of perfection.
Really great ramen! Flavorful broth packed with fresh ingredients. The sushi was also really good. Mixed drinks were tasty and there were a decent amount of Sake selections available. They have a decent amount of tables for a small, cozy restaurant. Quick service too. This was our first time here but we will definitely stop in again to try more dishes!

Excellent Food, Great Service, and a Cozy Spot Near Little Italy! Zutto Japanese Ramen Sushi Bar is a fantastic find — the food is consistently delicious. The spicy miso ramen is especially outstanding, and the sushi is fresh and well-prepared. Add to that a nice selection of Japanese sides and affordable beers, and you’ve got a winning combo. The service is excellent — friendly, fast, and attentive. The place is clean and well-maintained, and it’s clearly popular for a reason. Located just a short walk from Little Italy, it’s a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a flavorful, satisfying meal. Highly recommend!

The atmosphere is amazing, really cool and spooky Halloween decor. The service was okay, nothing to rave about. My problem was the food, the presentation made me think it would be delicious but it was the opposite. I had the chicken katsu sandwich/burger and it was so hard and overcooked I thought something was wrong with my mouth. I was convinced it was me or the cabbage on the sandwich was frozen but lo and behold it was the chicken the whole time. Also the flavor on the sandwich was weird and not cohesive and needed more sauce. My friend had the ramen and said it was mid. So, maybe come here for the vibe, but don't for the food. Also 28 dollars for a sandwich.... Come on.

Food, service, and atmosphere all get 3 stars. But value. 5 stars. Great value. The $3 appetizer and $3 cocktail deal is too good. And the drinks are STRONG. So worth the money. And actually tasty (but sweet). The food is like pretty decent. It’s nothing special honestly. But perfectly good enough sushi. We ordered 2 cocktails, 2 appetizers, and 2 mains for 3 people and it came out to $60 after tax and tip. Truly a good deal.

It's a small cozy restaurant with booth and table seating. I went with my friends for brunch and we all enjoyed our food and each other's. The best drink is definitely the Matcha Colada. Very tropical and vacation vibes.
Crystal H — Google review
Went to Zutto for dinner based on the 4.7 stars review on Google. I must say I am a little disappointed. The Karaage chicken and pork gyoza didn’t have the authentic flavour, the Karaage chicken isn’t crunchy or juicy enough. Pork gyoza were pretty much the same, the dumpling skin was a little thick and the fillings were quite plain. We were then looking forward to the tonkotsu shoyu ramen. It looked nice when the bowl came out. It was packed with ingredients and we added both Nitamago and Onsen egg to the ramen. Although the Chashu and the eggs were good, the broth was lacking flavour. The interior is nice, pleasant, service was good. But overall, it was an average dining experience for us. The price was pretty good, so if you are looking for something inexpensive to dine, this place is then worth a visit.
Claudia D — Google review
It was recommended and rated high in google maps. My only word is, overrated! Ramens are really mid level here. Noodles were sticked to each other and broth is not that flavorful. Ramen should he presenting itself with its look, and also look was not charming. You can use bigger bowls to put ingredients one by one more presentable. It looks like moose that way, all in one, already combined. Gyoza was nice, inside was filled with juice. Sushi was not good. It was more stickier than it should be. Tip: Use more rice vinegar to make it less stickier, and cook less.

Kisa is a casual Korean restaurant located in the Lower East Side, offering walk-in-only service with no reservations. The menu features set meals for $32, including options like spicy pork and stir-fried squid, accompanied by bottomless sides. The restaurant opens at 5 PM and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Diners have praised the delicious food and attentive service, highlighting dishes such as stir-fried squid and bulgogi.
Eater recommended and duly deserved. Fast casual restaurant with a minimal menu. If you do something well why make it more complicated? You can really only choose your protein. We got squid and pork. The bonchon were delectable and the drinks were great. Best of all free coffee or hot chocolate! Very simple place but great value for your money. Staff were friendly as well.

Delicious Korean food. Used to be able to get a few side dishes refilled for free but now there is a charge for it— wish they were still complimentary. The service is really great and food tastes very “home style,” which is the best kind of Korean food! Appreciate that the soup is always piping hot, though I would love if they filled the bowl more than halfway. All that aside I will still be coming back because it’s just that good. Definitely go hungry, and don’t forget your black bean latte on your way out. :))
Y P — Google review
A Korean restaurant that is absolutely finger-licking good! The food is packed with flavor and authenticity. The staff is very polite and friendly, and the atmosphere is truly traditional. I ordered these two dishes during lunch, and they were phenomenal. The only downside is that if you’re hungry, make sure to arrive early because the line gets long. I would definitely go back and highly recommend it!
Matthew E — Google review
From the moment you step in, it’s like stepping back in time to an old-school Korean diner. The interior design is absolutely immaculate. It gets a little small and cramped but it’s super homely. The food was also honestly perfect and the right portions. They offer free refills of three side dishes but I didn’t even need it, as I left feeling very full and satisfied. The service was also great and the staff were very friendly. The little black bean latte at the end was also a great touch! As a Korean person, the food really hit the spot and I felt right at home. My only complaint is that it does run quite expensive for almost 40 per person including tax. However, I do feel like I got my money’s worth from the food and overall experience! Also: we got there at a good time almost right after it opened, but the restaurant fills up very fast. Be aware that it’s quite a busy spot especially since it’s small and limited seating.
Yuri P — Google review
I know this ain’t no lowkey hidden gem but despite the hype it did nottt disappoint. Kinda pricey coming in at an inflexible $36 (no other options, must order 1 dish per person). But it’s a lotttt of food and a lot of variety. The banchan are great and pretty unique. We got sashimi, apple mayo salad, kimchi, tofu, chicken wings, japchae etc etc. and all were excellent. The only mid one was maybe the japchae. The bulgogi is a must. It’s even better than the squid imo, but both are great. Don’t leave without a free (very sweet) coffee or black sesame tiny coffee. Delish. Only complaints are that you can’t order less than 1 set per person. And they don’t have sparkling water. Other than that, chefs kiss. No vegetarian options. Good for gluten intolerance.
Cassia A — Google review
Came here for lunch and was able to be seated immediately. There’s a lot of food in the seat, I had to pack some home. Banchan are basically full on small dishes including significant proteins like a crudo dish. Overall vibe is casual which I liked!
Rovik R — Google review
I used to really enjoy Kisa NYC, especially for their great banchan — it was always fresh and had a nice variety. But they recently changed the banchan, and honestly, I liked the old version much better. The new ones don’t have the same balance or flavor that made the meal feel special before. Still a decent spot overall, but I miss the original banchan setup.
T K — Google review
Absolutely loved this place! The food was incredibly delicious — it tasted just like what I had back in Korea. The staff were so kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The interior brought back memories of old Korea, and it honestly felt like I was transported back to my childhood. I was smiling the entire time while eating. And the finishing touch? A cup of Korean vending machine coffee — just like the ones you’d get after a meal in Korea. It was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. This place truly made me feel at home. Highly recommend!

Carnitas Ramirez is a newly opened spot in NYC that offers a wide variety of taco toppings, with over 10 different options available. The menu includes cuts like chamorro and maciza, all cooked to perfection and bursting with rich pork flavor. The establishment boasts an authentic and local atmosphere, complete with a self-serve salsa bar and the option to add crunchy chicharron on top of your tacos.
Intimately small taqueria which serves every single portion of a pig, and you get to pick your cuts. They also have a fully stocked salsa bar so that you can dress your tacos. Highly recommended this place, the meat was excellent.

Had the best experience here! Had heard such great things and was nervous it wouldn’t live up to the hype but it really did. Came at about 3pm on a Sunday, didn’t have to wait and was able to get a bench seat. There isn’t a lot of seating but the turnover is really quick because the food is so fast. Everything was delicious, I asked the staff to choose their favourites and there were no misses! Loved that you could add your own salsa & pickles - 10/10 experience.

Try these guys for the first time on a Sunday evening and there was no line. We got there right before they closed so we had fewer selections of what we could choose from but all three tacos were still amazing in mind blowing. Super Porky and fatty all the way throughout slightly salty. And the spices that they used to cook, the pork is divine. We did get a tongue taco a cheek taco and I forget the third. The complementary sauces at the salsa bar are really good as well. The price to value ratio is amazing. Each taco is about five bucks and it’s well worth the price. All the tortillas are made in house and you can see them literally cooking up the whole pig right behind you. These guys are definitely gonna be in the top 10 taco spots in NYC. If not top 5 ! AMAZING EXPERIENCE

My best friend and I have been eyeing this place for a minute. We appreciate it when nothing goes to waste. This restaurant does not disappoint. Fresh slow roasted meat with simple decor like you are in Mexico enjoying an ice cold beer on a scolding hot day. Seating is minimal and gets crowded fast. The spicy is really spicy. Not speaking as just a native New Yorker , but an Indian who puts chilies on everything. We got a mixture of lean to fatty tacos. Great experience. Not too costly either.
Mookie — Google review
An excellent, amazing little taco shop. It’s a great continuation of the tacqueria in Greenpoint, with several amazing tacos, amazing salsas. I loved the chamorro and Costilla, but everything was excellent. I wasn’t as big of a fan of the Gordita, which was a bit stodgy, lots of cartilage, sticky. It’s nice with some salsa, and I imagine on a day when it’s a bit cooler it’s very hearty and comforting. I’d get it again, but the tacos are the star. Absolutely essential to get a beer and use some spicy salsa. And for the love of God do not be that person that strains all the avocado out of the mild salsa to eat - a customer in front of me did this and it should be a lifetime ban from all Mexican restaurants.
Blake R — Google review
Great concept and the different cuts of pork really did change the flavour of each taco. Would have liked more variety in the salsa bar, but the options they had were still great. Would go back to try all the other types of pork. The rib was amazing.

Fantastic restaurant. They have delicious Armenian/Lebanese food. Highly professional staff. You should definitely order Baklava, it is the best in the world. If you wanna feel at home (In Armenia) it is must place in NY.

Since it was our first time, we had a lot of questions about the food. Our server was very warm and accommodating. He answered all our questions and made recommendations. Hummus with soujuk was the best I've ever had! We enjoyed the Mixed Grill (Filet Mignon cubed, Chicken Taouk, Kafta & Baby Lamb Chops) cooked to perfection. Their baklava was legit! For coffee lovers, I recommend trying Armenian coffee. It's very rich and bold. Overall it was a great Armenian dining experience!

I had dinner here with some friends as part of Restaurant Week, and I was not disappointed. The service was superb and the food was even better! The staff took the time to explain and recommend menu items for us. The drinks were delicious too!

We are visiting from Manila, Philippines. Went to Almayass on a Sunday night with mom. It was actually our first time to eat Armenian food. First thing I noticed was the ambiance of the restaurant. It was fancy and cozy. We ordered mixed grilled meat. The server will also ask you beforehand how do you like your meat: rare, medium-rare or well-done. The servers are nice and attentive. Btw, we chose well-done. It has chicken, beef, lamb and etc.. we find the grilled beef as the best in the selection. For appetizers we had an Armenian Salad. I am not a fan of cucumbers but the vinegar made it flavorful. So yup, was able to eat it. Also, we had Hummus with beef and pine nuts paired with crackers and pita bread. It was so good. We also had Mantee traditional (beef). I dunno but it kind of reminds me of siomai and lasagna at the same time but in a good way. Haha! Overall, I would give 5 stars for service, ambiance and taste. Will recommend and come back again whenever I go yo NY to visit my brother.

Good service, OK food, nice decor. I'm not that impressed. The mixed appetizer menu ($68), and the mixed grill ($68) are not the greatest (some items are fine in each). The wine was fine. Fresh mint tea was also good. Overall, not a great value.

Finally an awesome Lebanese restaurant in NYC. The starters were so great we had to try them all and couldn't even order an entree, because we were full. We have to come back another day for them. Great food, service and atmosphere. Definitively on the pricier side but worth every penny.

The people working here were super nice. They had to accommodate a large surprise party and did a great job. Everything they offered in their courses tastes incredible. I'm not sure about the prices because it was covered by the other guests, but I would love to go to this restaurant again.

Shanghainese restaurant
Dumpling restaurant
Joe's Shanghai is a popular eatery located in Chinatown, New York. It offers a variety of Shanghai dishes, with its specialty being the famous soup dumplings. The restaurant has a simple setting but is known for its authentic and delicious food. Visitors can enjoy hand-rolled soup dumplings filled with pork or crab and pork, along with other Shanghai-style specialties like scallion pancakes and fried rice.
I recently tried Joe’s Shanghai and the food was amazing! The chicken was incredibly tender, and the sauce was packed with flavor—it really stood out. The white rice was perfect: soft, fluffy, and not clumped together like it usually is at other places. The portion size was generous, easily enough for two people. Overall, a delicious and satisfying meal. On top of that, the delivery guy was excellent—prompt, friendly, and made sure everything arrived hot and in great shape.
Georgia P — Google review
What happened to Joe's Shanghai! It used to be SOOOO GOOD but the soup dumplings are so bad. Very sloppy job. We ordered 4 orders of crabmeat soup dumplings and some of the soup are even spilled out and the flavor is lacking. Very watery and not good at all. We also the peanut sesame cold noodles and there was a tiny piece of plastic in there but we didn't even bother saying anything. We order their special shrimp in honey glaze sauce, it was okay. It's sad that Joe Shanghai's soup dumplings went down tremendously. Very disappointing.

FRIED PORK! Ok so apparently they are extremely known for their soup dumplings which we obviously ordered… and yes they were very good. However the fried pork entree which we split amongst 6 grown men, was by far the best pork I have eaten. The pork was served with a side of salt and sauce. Mouth watering and fried to perfection. The restaurant is very big and was packed which is always a good sign. I have nothing but amazing things to say. My one suggestion is to ask for a side of chili oil. Not too spicy but just enough kick.

Super delicious and fast delivery! I tried this restaurant as my coworker recommended it as he’s “favorite Chinese restaurant in NYC”, and I can definitely see why. I ordered it for delivery to my hotel and the food was still steaming hot and well packaged to avoid spills. The green beans and beef had a delicious sauce and the pork soup dumplings were encased in the most chewy and flavorful dough. I was surprised that they included a warm sweet sesame ball with a flakey pastry. All in all it was a great experience especially for a delivery experience.

My husband has been wanting to come here since we arrived to NY.  We went this past Sunday night with two of our friends.  We arrived around 7pm and only had to wait about 15-20mins before they were able to seat us - considering this place is always busy and there's no way to reserve a table in advance it felt pretty quick to get a table.  We ordered a number of dishes to share, my favorites were the braised pork and the pork+crab soup dumplings.  We also tried the chicken fried rice, chow main noodles, more dumplings, and pancake.  This place is cash ONLY, so make sure you stop by the ATM first.  It was a rainy and cold Sunday in NY so this was the perfect warm and cozy meal.

Sorry to see midtown west location closed. Then, this downtown location now moved to new location good progress. One of the most reliable soup dumpling. Beef noodle soup and lo-mean also good. Cash only. Line in weekend.

Came here for the soup dumplings. Food was decent - they're better than average soup dumplings. Couple of notes before arriving: 1. they are cash only 2. the tip (@18%) is added to the bill as a service fee - I'm never a fan of this practice, especially when the wait staff doesn't point it out.
Jim L — Google review
Stopped here for the soup dumplings and they did not disappoint! They were incincredibly delicious and flavorful! The service was quick and friendly. They are very popular so there was a little bit of a wait but its definitely worth waiting for! They also only take cash but do not worry because there is ATMs on site. That being said yoj definitely have to stop in here for the soup dumplings! The general tso chicken is also delicious a little heat with quick nice sweet crunch! Definitely would go back!

Brunch restaurant
When exploring the culinary landscape of New York City, one cannot overlook The Russian Tea Room. This iconic establishment, founded in 1927 by members of the Russian Imperial Ballet, is a feast for both the eyes and palate. Nestled next to Carnegie Hall on West 57th Street, it boasts an opulent ambiance with its rich forest green walls and luxurious red-leather banquettes that create a striking backdrop for any dining experience.
We had a really nice experience at The Russian Tea Room. The atmosphere feels like old-school NYC power broker meets imperial Russia — dramatic, nostalgic, and totally unique. The food was excellent, the drinks were high quality and a bit pricey, but the service was top-notch. The staff were warm and professional, which really made the brunch feel special. If you’re looking for a spot that captures a bit of vintage New York glamour with great hospitality, this is it. We’ll absolutely be back.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and well worth a meal here. I ordered borsch and beef stonogarov. I sometimes find the food too salty when I eat out, but the food here was delicious. The service was warm and the waiter even offered to take photos, which made for a great memory for my friend.

Absolutely exceptional. Staff members were attentive at times, very tolerant, helpful, and moderately respectful. The staff were also adaptive which was respectfully fun to watch. We were honored to dine at this fine establishment filled with rich history. Compliments to the chef - the food was absolutely delish. We definitely plan on visiting again on a special occasion with more guests. This place is most definitely recommended. I have not seen such courteous, adaptable, and tolerant staff in fine dining thus far. This was a very inclusive fine dining experience. Although there were some technical issues and some issues with slow service - highly recommend. We will also try the coat and bag check next time around - must have slipped everyone's mind. Although we might have preferred to hold on to them anyway.

The atmosphere is luxurious, old- school NYC with beautiful art pieces and chandeliers. The service was excellent and the food for the most part is good, although overpriced. The borsch was too heavy on the beets but had no meat. Overall worth a visit for the experience.

That place used to be awesome, but now it's just a sad memory. As a Russian, I wasn't feeling it at all. They have some Russian dishes on the menu, but they taste totally off. The pirozhki were a total letdown, not worth thirty bucks! The Olivier salad was okay, though. The beef stroganoff was a little dry. The beef wellington was great, though!

The experience of this classic establishment was special. I think the food was hit or miss. Some items I loved, and others were just ok. The caviar service was really well presented, and the wine selection and cocktails were nice. The horseradish dirty Martini was fabulous. The service was very kind and attentive. If I went back I think it would be for the high tea!

An Iconic New York Experience – Pure Magic at the Russian Tea Room Stepping into the Russian Tea Room is like stepping into another era — one of timeless glamour, elegance, and old-world charm. This legendary NYC institution truly lives up to its reputation. The atmosphere is rich with history, yet warm and inviting, with stunning decor that feels both theatrical and intimate. The food? Absolutely exquisite. From the perfectly prepared beef stroganoff to the delicate caviar service, every dish was a celebration of flavor and tradition. The blinis were pillowy, the tea selection divine, and the desserts… unforgettable. The service was impeccable — attentive without being intrusive, with staff who treat guests like royalty. Whether you’re celebrating something special or simply want to soak up the ambiance of a true New York classic, the Russian Tea Room is an unforgettable experience. Steak house
Churrascaria Plataforma is a must-visit Brazilian steakhouse that truly embodies the essence of rodizio dining. Located in Midtown, this vibrant eatery features an impressive buffet filled with antipasti, fresh greens, specialty salads, and hot dishes like pasta and stews. As you indulge in the hearty offerings, simply flip your dining card from red to green to signal the servers to bring out an array of succulent skewered meats including sirloin, lamb chops, and filet mignon.
This is my favorite Brazilian steakhouse. Though to honest I’ve only been to three so I’m not exactly an authority on the subject. However the food is great. They have a huge salad bar (I only took a picture displaying about a quarter of their offerings since I didn’t want to get any customers in the photo. You can pick up to four sides in addition to the salad bar offerings to accompany your meal. The servers bring around various cuts of steaks cooked to different preferences, rare, medium etc… as well as some lamb, pork & chicken all for one flat price. Dinks & dessert’s (if you have any room for dessert) are extra. Located on W49th off of 7th makes this an excellent choice if you’re catching a show on broadway, going to one of the cinemas in Times Square or simply having lunch or dinner. The restaurant was clean & the staff was very courteous & professional.

Yes, I got the meat sweats. No, I wasn’t mad about it. We went for restaurant week and man, this place is WILD. There’s a full on buffet in the middle with everything from salad to tortellini to sushi. I thought that part was crazy until the PARADE OF ALL YOU CAN MEAT STARTED. I’ve never had so much meat in one sitting. It was all quite tasty but included chicken, sausage, steak, steak, lamb, parm crusted pork, garlic steak. And we had sides as well. My server was an older man who was actually quite hilarious. He took great care of us.

I gave 4 stars for food just because of the deserts. The Meath part was awesome. Great and tasty cuts kept flowing to our tables. We didn’t have to ask for something and it just came. There are parts we just tried to stop the waiters from keep coming with meat. It’s was very tasty and plenty of it. The salad bar was ok. Seen better but we didn’t come for the salad bar. It has plenty of option but it just didn’t talk to us. We ordered deserts. You can leave without deserts. It was ok but not great. I would stick with the meat. Unless you just have to finish with something sweet. Overall it was a good experience. A bit pricey but compared to what you get and compared to NY prices it was reasonable

Stopped here yesterday after a Mets game. It's a beautiful place. It's Brazilian style meat with a good salad bar. We had all kinds of steak ,pork and lamb then hit the salad bar. I had a bunch of different stuff from the salad bar my favorite being the potato salad. My gf loved the sushi and other fish from the salad bar. We got back to the table and record our appetizers which just keep coming I choose cheese balls and she picked fries. The whole experience was very good. They also brought us out a piece of cake after for our anniversary. We left very happy and very full. Just be ready to pay, it is not cheap but definitely worth a try 🙂

Employee's totally awesome. It's a must go. all u can eat meat was unbelievable. Food outstanding salad bar was one of the best I seen very fresh.
David L — Google review
This was my second visit to the restaurant, but unfortunately, this time the food was disappointing. At the salad bar, I tried some sushi, and as soon as I ate one piece, I noticed a gummy texture and an unusual flavor. I continued with the meats and side dishes, but soon after, I began to feel stomach pain and nausea. I told my server, Danielle, that I suspected the sushi was the cause because my son ate everything I did except for the sushi, and he was perfectly fine. I became so unwell that I couldn’t go to work the next day. Danielle was truly the one who saved the day—she was kind, attentive, and even offered me a herbal tea, which I really appreciated. The manager also came to my table and offered me tea; however, I did not feel he was genuinely concerned about my wellbeing. There was no offer of compensation, discount, or any real follow-up regarding the issue. The servers are very attentive, but the quality of the food compared to the price is not balanced.
Alexandra G — Google review
Excellent service. We made reservations just in case. We had a great time and the food meat just kept coming. We should have stopped that times and then kept going. I asked for meats that were well done. Everything was good. The flan was definitely one of the better ones I’ve tasted. The birthday cake not so great. We spent about $135 pp. The cappuccino hit the spot.

Ramen restaurant
American restaurant
Noodle shop
Momofuku Noodle Bar, founded by David Chang in 2004, is a renowned Asian-accented American restaurant that has been a pioneer in the ramen craze in New York City. The open kitchen and minimalist decor create an inviting atmosphere for diners. The menu features a variety of dishes, including crispy Korean fried chicken and soft pork buns.
This is our go to noodle bar in East Village for dinner with my wife. I haven’t tried too many noodles before, but I can easily say these are the best I’ve had. The chicken noodles are our absolute favorite. As for dessert the last one we tried was incredible. Everything is homemade, and you can watch the whole cooking process through their open kitchen, which is spotless and well organized. The staff is just as impressive as the food super friendly, helpful, and understanding. Special thanks to my friend Dominick. If you’re looking for a delicious dinner, a warm atmosphere, and great service, this place is absolutely the right choice.
Mucahit E — Google review
Loved my experience here. Service was anticipatory despite it being packed on a Friday night. The chicken dishes were the star of the evening the marinade was on POINT great balance of sweet and acidity. I would say the noodles are good but I somehow found the chicken dishes just spectacular. Pork belly is very tender but could use more flavor. All in all the vibe and overall team made it a great night for us. It can get so loud in the resto so if you want a quiet place to chat don’t come on a peak night.
Jean D — Google review
It’s a great vibe definitely geared towards younger crowd. The tables are small and the have stools without backs. A bit on the loud side. Food and service are great. Price is reasonable for what they serve. The hand rolls and pork belly baos are delicious. So was the ginger scallion noodles. The milk chocolate pie was really good. The smoked pork ramen was our least favorite. My expectations were much higher for the broth.
James P — Google review
Momofuku Noodle Bar is a Japanese fusion restaurant with multiple branches. I visited their branch located in New York City’s East Village. The location was quite convenient and as there is a subway station nearby, it is easy to get to. Upon entering the restaurant, you will be greeted by friendly staff and a clean dining environment. The staff are happy to assist you with any ordering or general query. Before coming to this establishment, I had read many positive reviews and therefore had high hopes for the food quality. However, things started to go south as soon as the first dish arrived at the table. I found the smoked chicken wings to be too salty, though the meat was somewhat tender. As for the crispy spring chicken, whilst the chicken skin had a good texture, I found the dish to be slightly over-seasoned. Despite not getting off to a great start, I was excited to try their ramen since many of the positive reviews mentioned their noodles. Unlike the other two dishes, it turned out the ramen was not over-seasoned at all. It was quite the opposite. I found the noodles to be somewhat bland. Whilst the smoked pork tasted decent, it was unable to make up for the lack of flavour in the broth. Overall, while you will not have a horrible experience dining at this restaurant, there are better options for those looking for high quality authentic Asian flavours at a similar price point.
Ryan K — Google review
NOODLES WERE SO GOOD. Iconic spot. Chicken wings were alright, not really special. BAOS WERE THE BEST. I see the hype and why this place is so famous, but I feel like they could’ve given me MORE. Overall, yum.
Priscilla W — Google review
the pork belly baos were the best bites of the night. i don’t think we’d get the bavette steak again. it wasn’t the most tender steak and just not our fav we’ve had at this price point. the potato butter felt like it was trying to pick up the slack. the ramen was tasty! we got the pork ramen and the pork belly was so fatty and tender. the noodles were nice and bouncy, i just wish the broth was slightly less salty. don’t get me wrong- i love salt (i am actually a salt addict) but this was just too salty for me. it could be that it was just too much with the other dishes we ordered. we wanted to get dessert but were too “riched out” and full. good efficiency and friendly service even with the noise level in the restaurant. food came quickly.
Sophie S — Google review
We went on Friday, and it was lively. The design is beautiful—everything in warm wood. Lots of people, lots of dishes. Behind the bar there’s always a board like at the airport: sometimes greeting guests, sometimes rearranging letters into the menu. No vegetable broth, which was a pity. The chicken one was fine, though we’re used to something richer and with more ingredients inside. The shrimp noodles were decent—the sauce tied the whole dish together nicely. The pork bao buns were tasty, if you enjoy fatty pork. They came with cucumber and sauce, although the Michelin guide photo shows them with a lettuce leaf. The tuna hand roll, which you assemble yourself, turned out unbearably spicy—we had to return it. Everything was fast, fresh, and made with quality ingredients. The presentation was very simple. The secret is in the simplicity, though that may not be to everyone’s taste.
Kristina Z — Google review
Excellent experience, unbelievably kind wait staff. Came in for a promotion that I failed to read the fine print on, but they honored it anyway. The food was on point, and it was an overall great experience. The shrimp bun, rice cake, and bavette steak were standout dishes, but everything was delicious

Bagel shop
Bakery
Gourmet grocery store
Established in 1914, Russ & Daughters is a renowned family-owned shop located in the Lower East Side neighborhood of New York. This iconic establishment is celebrated for its extensive selection of high-quality smoked fish, including nova, gravlax, belly lox, whitefish, and sturgeon. In addition to smoked and cured fishes, they also offer pickled herrings, caviars, cream cheeses, bagels and bialys.
There's a reason this place has been around for decades. The spot takes you back to an old pharmacy with counter ordering, all items beautifully on display, and no frills. Come prepared to order because in true NY fashion they move QUICK. The everything egg bagels are tasty but I felt the cream cheese stole the show. These are highly sought out by the locals and I can see why. They offer a variety of fish options but we didn't taste test these.
Annie K — Google review
Pro tip: when you walk in, be sure to take a number—they’ll call it out when it’s your turn to order. The place has a charming old-school interior that gives off classic New York vibes, which adds to the experience. They offer a variety of sandwiches, bagels, spreads, and smoked fish options. I ordered a salmon bagel with a few extras and ended up paying around $20. While the atmosphere was cool, the bagel itself was quite small and didn’t justify the high price—especially since we've had better, more satisfying salmon bagels elsewhere in NYC for less. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it, and I wouldn’t go back—there are better bagel spots in the city that offer more value and flavor.
Paul G — Google review
Got a poppy seed bagel with lox and scallion cream cheese (also had onion, tomato, and capers). This was my favorite bagel on the trip and the reason was mainly the cream cheese. It was so light and mild tasting i felt like I could eat a tub of it ans feel fine. The lox was also amazing too though. The sandwitch was just perfectly executed. I wish the in store experience was a little better though. The store become a mess when it gets crowded so plan to go at a slightly odd time for a smoother/faster experience.
Josh — Google review
My brother was told about this place. Absolutely loved it. Felt like a slip back in time and you can tell this place is not only, take care of and respected, but also has quality staff that put love and attention to your order. We split the classic bagel and lox. Best bagel I have ever had in my life. I truly wish I could eat this everyday. 10/10

Stopped by Russ & Daughters and it’s easy to see why it’s such an iconic spot. The fish quality really stands out — fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. You definitely get a lot for what you order, which makes it feel worthwhile. The classic bagels and spreads complement the fish perfectly, and the whole experience has a timeless, authentic New York feel. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates top-notch smoked fish and traditional deli vibes. We were able to eat right in front of the store, where there is a couple benches available.
Tom B — Google review
Very good place to get a cream cheese bagel and they are generous. There is a ticket system when you enter and you have to grab a ticket to be served and service is pretty quick. It’s not the best I had as it’s maybe hyped up to be, but certainly very solid. Feels like a commercial lineup with the ticket system rather than personal old style bagel shop.
Y B — Google review
I tried a smoked fish deli, and the food was delicious I had the salmon sandwich and it was fresh and full of flavor. The service was a bit slow, but the quality of the food made up for it. Great spot if you love smoked fish sandwiches! 🐟🥪

Lived in New York most of my life (currently in Vegas) and it it wasn’t until this very day at 40 years old did I try the famed Russ and daughters bagel. Is it the best bagel? No. But looking at it as a complete sandwich with all the fixings ordered as recommended. Fantastic, one of, if not the best lox bagels I’ve had. Shame I missed out for all these years. I’m glad I had time meandering around Manhattan today

Indian Accent is a high-end restaurant located in the luxurious Le Parker Meridien hotel, offering a contemporary international twist on Indian classics. The menu, crafted under the direction of renowned chef Manish Mehrotra, features inventive dishes like Soy Keema and Wild Mushroom Kulcha. The restaurant also boasts a robust wine list and cocktails infused with unexpected ingredients. With an elegant setting complete with a gold-leafed wall, Indian Accent provides fine Indian dining with progressive ideas while maintaining traditional integrity.
Wow, this place is great! Indian Accent is definitely the nicest and most formal Indian restaurant in NYC as the menu is pretty much all a tasting experience. The food was unique and great, the decor was sleek, and the service last night was out of this world. Really, the service was one of the best experiences we've had dining out at a restaurant. We couldn't recommend this place highly enough for a special meal!

Overall a great fine dining experience at Indian Accent. The stand out dishes were the amuse bouche starter of cheese naan and warm pumpkin shot, wagyu pathar kebab on marrow bone with garlic, the restaurant specialty ghee roast lamb with roomali roti pancakes, and the doda barfi treacle tart. The flavors and execution was wonderful. I found the lamb dahi vada a bit too sweet for my taste and the lamb itself was lost. And while I did enjoy the black dairy dal naan and black garlic raita, it too hit a sweet note; I wish it was more savory. The restaurant ambience is high end and refined. And the service was great.
Alexandra B — Google review
This place is the definition of cultural appreciation. Every item on the lunch menu is small yet, of course, deceptively so; I was perfectly satiated by the end of the meal. The flavors were so strong, so bold, and reminded me of my own grandmothers’ cooking, even contributing to a sudden homesickness for them. Every item was rich and celebrated Indian flavors with such pride - how did they manage to make palm-sized dishes pack such a punch to the palette? Also, notably, no menu item looked like what I pictured it would be (coming from a background built off the canonical versions of these dishes). At first, this was off-putting, but it quickly made the meal all-the-more exciting, making me guess what the next course would look like. Some notes - the side of veggies that came with the entrée was unseasoned and a bit slimy; frankly, it wasn’t needed at all. The dessert - a generic, caramel-tasting sticky tart - was pretty much overshadowed by everything else. Nonetheless, this meal was nothing short of memorable, and the restaurant is an absolute gem.

The food at this place was outstanding! Absolutely loved the Kashmiri morel (mushroom), ghee roast soy kheema dish with quail egg, and doda barfi tart with ice cream. Also got the proper copper drink which was good. Not only one of my new fave Indian restaurants in the city but also one of my fave restaurants overall!

Well, the first thing you need to know is that it is a prefix only menu. You have to have the three or four course meal so be prepared for that. Also the prices are pretty high and the portions are very small for what you get. I will say, though that although I was worried about being hungry by the end of the meal; I definitely was fully satisfied. The food doesn’t appear like you would imagine it for example, if you get chicken tikka, you may be getting meatballs not the typical fast food versions. We really liked the dumplings (you only get 3), and the shrimp (also only get three). I was very happy that the garlic naan was full sized after eating the complimentary blue cheese doll house version. Have an open mind and I’m sure you will enjoy yourself here.

During a recent work trip to New York, I decided to treat my wife to a surprise dinner at Indian Accent, and it was an experience that was nothing short of stunning. While our arrival began with a less-than-warm welcome from the maitre d’, whose curt comment about not having a reservation dampened the initial mood, the rest of the evening was a true showcase of hospitality and exceptional culinary artistry. Every server beyond that first interaction was gracious, attentive, and eager to make our night special. The food itself was nothing short of extraordinary. The small plates set the bar incredibly high: the sweet potato shakarkandi, yogurt kebab, aloo rasa, and roasted beet were flawlessly executed, each dish balancing creativity with authentic flavors. These courses alone were worth the visit, offering both comfort and innovation in every bite. For the main course, we opted for the Kashmiri laal paneer, which while flavorful, leaned on the drier side, leaving us unsure if it was intended to be enjoyed alone or primarily with accompaniments. Thankfully, the sides more than compensated. The black dairy dal with naan was rich, creamy, and deeply satisfying, while the chole kulcha brought a wonderful textural contrast and flavor punch. Together, they rounded out the meal beautifully. Despite the rocky start and one main course that didn’t shine as brightly as the rest, the overall dining experience at Indian Accent was remarkable. With inventive dishes and unforgettable flavors, it earns a solid 4/5 and a strong recommendation.

Today was a gala day. With a friend visiting from the West Coast who wanted to eat at not one but three Indian restaurants how could I not agree to break bread with her? This was Shobha’s first time eating here. I had eaten here at least four times. We both had the three course tasting menu for $56. An amuse of tiny blue cheese naans accompanied by a coconut and pumpkin shorba was given. The naan was tender, chewy and sharp in flavor. Both of us had the Sweet Pickle Pork Ribs which Pete Wells, former New York Times food critic, wrote that this dish could not be removed from the menu. Shobha ordered the Tandoori Lamb Chops, Black Dal and Kashmiri Morel Pullao. She had ordered a kulcha which was not given sonthe rice was perfect with the dal. Chicken Tikka Meatballs with my favorite garlic nan were my choices. We shared some of the dishes and enjoyed the cuisine. The dessert of Makhan Malai, Saffron Milk and Rose Petals resembled a fluff of air. Similar to a soufflé, this was both creamy and light and perfect as we both were feeling rather stuffed. Service was unobtrusive and professional.

Really great upscale Indian spot! Definitely go for the multi-course menus and share so that you can try lots of things, it’s the best value for your money. We really liked the smoked eggplant, and the roast lamb with roti pancakes (sort of like Indian version of Peking duck). Also the black dal was delicious, I think comparable to the famous Dishoom version.

Le Coucou is a refined French restaurant located in downtown New York City. The elegant setting features baroque grandeur with plush banquettes, tall ceilings, and a state-of-the-art open kitchen. The menu offers elevated examples of traditional French cuisine bourgeoise, including dishes like lobster poured with bubbling sauce, veal tongue with caviar and cre fraiche, and various preparations of rabbit. Chef Daniel Rose brings innovative French cooking to the table without feeling trendy.
My boyfriend took me to dinner at Le Coucou for our anniversary, as he knew it has been on my list for a long time. TLDR; We were both blown away by the whole experience at this restaurant! After a lovely greeting, we were given a table with views of the whole place so we could take it all in. Every detail about the design felt intentional and luxurious, and the ambiance was peaceful yet alive - a rare feat in NYC. The staff are beyond wonderful - so kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. They also made sure our special occasion felt truly special, not just like another night of the week. Every single staff member we interacted with wished us an emphatic Happy Anniversary :') The food exceeded all expectations and we were so grateful to our waiter for making such perfect recommendations. Every bite was a genuine delight and we left VERY full. I also am never one to say the dessert was the best course... but I will be thinking about that green chartreuse creme brulee for a long long time. I could really go on and on about what a great time we had. I am already plotting my next visit! Thanks Le Coucou <3

You’re gonna love this place! It’s an elegant French restaurant with a full menu of incredible food and wines — perfect for a romantic date or a special celebration. I started with the Thon à l’Espelette, a tuna appetizer that was absolutely amazing. For the main course, we had the Filet de Bœuf — insanely delicious, tender meat served with creamy mashed potatoes and bone marrow. We also tried the Agneau Printanier, which comes with lamb chops and a small pot of slow-cooked lamb — juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. For drinks, I went with a non-alcoholic cider (Longe Cider) — refreshing and fantastic. Prices are fair for the quality and experience — not cheap, but if you appreciate top-notch food and fine dining, this place is totally worth it.

Celebrated my birthday here. Everything was phenomenal. Atmosphere is chic and VERY romantic. Me and my husband ordered Galantine de pintade et foie gras à la chartreuse, Filet de bœuf, Homard « bourse et la vie » and Creme Brule. We loved everything. The lobster was one of the best among those that I had in US. I just wish they had escargots served together with baguette as well. Other than that, price matches the performance. Highly recommended!

Excellent Atmosphere and Hospitality. Food quality was excellent, as always. Our server Paolo was very knowledgeable about all the items on the menu, as well as the wine recommendations. We had the Yellowfin Tuna, Morrells, Lobster and Filet. All 5/5 choices. Deserts was phenomenal. A true experience, not just a dinner. We had a 10:45 reservation but arrived at 9 and were seated very promptly.

This was the BEST dining experience I have had in a long time. My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and everyone from the hostess to the waitress to the support staff were wishing us a Happy Anniversary and making sure we were comfortable throughout the night. The service was impeccable, our waitress was attentive, and the whole dinner ran smoothly. The most impressive thing that I took away from this experience was the fact that the kitchen went above and beyond to give us a crème brûlée for our dessert to celebrate our anniversary, since due to my food allergies, I could not eat other desserts that were on the menu. The food was amazing and we will be returning 100%.

My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and loved the experience. The restaurant was beautiful and everyone working there was very kind and professional. The food was also delicious! You need to schedule your reservation a few days in advance because this spot books up especially for weekend reservations

Wow this place is amazing for French food. The flavor profiles and all truly compliments to the chef. Each dish was truly mind blowing. I would recommend making a reservation as it can get busy especially at night but eating around 6 was very quiet. It started to get busy around 7:30-8

I took my husband to Le Coucou for his birthday, and from the moment we walked in, it felt like we had stepped into another world — elegant, glowing, and just quiet enough to let the moment sink in. The space is stunning — tall ceilings, soft lighting, and a beautifully designed room that somehow feels both grand and intimate. We sat near the open kitchen, and I loved hearing the soft clinks of the pans, the movement of the chefs — no music, no distractions, just this warm, quiet hum of people enjoying something special. It felt… calm. Thoughtful. Romantic in the most grown-up way. Every dish was a little work of art — not flashy, just quietly perfect. Rich, balanced, so French, but also light on its feet. We kept looking at each other and smiling after every bite. The food had that rare quality where you remember how it made you feel — not just how it tasted. Service was graceful and effortless — present when you needed something, invisible when you didn’t. They brought out a small birthday dessert for him, and it felt sincere, not staged. By the end of the night, I realized we hadn’t looked at our phones once. It was just the two of us, good wine, beautiful food, and a restaurant that somehow knew exactly how to hold space for all of that. A night that felt like a deep breath — and one we’ll remember for a long time

Malaysian restaurant
Restaurant
Nyonya, an Asian restaurant with a Malaysian menu, offers fantastic cuisine made with exotic spices. The simple yet charming space can get busy, so reservations are recommended. Some popular dishes include Malaysian Nasi Lemak and Hainanese Chicken Rice.
Literally still drooling over this Malaysian food! Best noodles I've had in decades! The crunchy dry noodle dish had the most amazing texture. The chow mein was the perfectly chewy and bouncy. The satay grilled prawns were the highlight of my meal for sure. And of course we had to try some of the ginger duck!
Jan D — Google review
The restaurant is large, the service is quick and attentive. The menu is extensive and very interesting, seems and tastes authentic. Nasi Lemak was the favorite, so much flavor! The sting ray was tender and the sauce was powerful and a little spicy. Would definitely return to try other dishes.

One thing on the menu is worth going to this restaurant - roti Canai. It is delicious. The sauce served with it is outstanding! They will serve it either with meat or without meat. The meatless version is incredible. I had Pad Thai and it was also good. Service was good.

One of my favorite spots for Malaysian food in the city! Everything tastes amazing — especially the Indian bread and the tom yum clam soup. The Hainanese chicken is so tender it just melts in your mouth. Only thing is, they’re cash only, so bring some bills.
Hang — Google review
I stumbled across Nyonya during a wander through Little Italy and I’m so glad I did. First off: cash only make sure you have bills on hand before you settle in. Walking in, it feels lively, a mix of locals and tourists drawn by the Malaysian cuisine in a neighborhood that doesn’t always specialize in it. I started with the roti dish (a thin pancake-style bread) served with a rich curry dipping sauce. The roti was crisp-edged, soft in the middle, and that curry deeply fragrant, just the right kickset the tone for the meal. For mains I sampled a few shared plates and enjoyed the interplay of spice, coconut milk, and herbs classic Malaysian flavours well executed. And then the desserts, wow one dessert featured beans (red or black beans? Something like that) in a sweet preparation, maybe with coconut or pandan it sounded unusual but turned out very interesting and pleasantly very tasty. Quite unlike the typical dessert menu in Manhattan, and a fun surprise. The service was friendly though a little busy (the place gets packed) and the atmosphere is casual-energetic. If you’re in the mood to try something different authentic Malaysian in NYC, away from the usual Thai/Chinese spots Nyonya is absolutely worth a stop. Just remember: bring cash.
John G — Google review
I wish I had more photos, but my friends and I ate everything SO QUICKLY! I love Nyonya. I’ve been here a handful of times with friends, family, out of towners, and even solo. I never have to wait for a table, and the food comes to the table quickly. The food is super authentic, fresh, and delicious. It’s the perfect place to go when you want to have family dinner style (or get your own dish) and chat over a meal. Some chinatown spots are *really* no frills, but this one is perfectly balanced, where it’s a good volume, and everything is affordable and delicious. I always get the roti and clay pot pearl noodle soup, but you can’t go wrong with any selection.
Elizabeth M — Google review
Looked like a small restaurant from the entrance but has a large area inside. Cash only. Seated only when the whole group is complete. We had very light and crispy roti (the best so far, for me); cuttersquid with peanuty sauce over green veggies - an appetizer but went well with the seafood fried rice. Hainanese chicken was ok (was unfamiliar with this chicken so tried from a few places. For me, I still prefer the first one I tasted from a now-closed restaurant). Realized it's across the usual banh mi place we go to. Near Canal St and Bowery so a few train lines/stations in the area. Kind of difficult to find street parking unless willing to drive around.
K V — Google review
Pros Food is outstanding especially for the cost. Every dish was delicious. I tried stingray for the first time and it was great. Also the value is unbeatable- very generous portions for the cost. We also were seated very quickly and food comes out very quickly. I’m not sure how they make everything so fast but it’s great. Cons I think it was just our waitress but she was outright rude multiple times. Maybe it was a bad night or a little bit of a language barrier. But they sort of work as a team and we had other waiters/waitresses bring out our food/help with questions and they were great.

Restaurant
Arepa Lady is a renowned food cart turned brick-and-mortar restaurant that serves South American cornmeal cakes. The original location in Jackson Heights offers classic arepas like arepa de queso and arepa de choclo with various meat options. The establishment has gained popularity among locals and tourists, including famous personalities like Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely delicious! Arepa Lady is a hidden gem in Queens. The arepas are out of this world, crispy on the outside, soft and cheesy inside, and full of flavor. Every dish we tried was fresh, tasty, and made with love. The service was also great, friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Highly recommend this place if you’re craving authentic Colombian food!

Arepa Lady in New York is a small but very pleasant and well-organized place. The service was excellent. I was attended by Carol, who truly provided extraordinary service, always checking on my table and giving great recommendations. The other person working with her was also very attentive, coming by several times to ask how everything was and if I enjoyed the food. There was even a large table of about 24 or 25 people, and despite that, the food came out very quickly, which shows great teamwork. The choclo arepa with cheese had a very good flavor and a generous amount of cheese for its size, although I do think it’s a bit overpriced for being just an arepa with cheese. I also tried the choclo arepa with cheese and grilled steak, which was excellent, with the meat full of flavor. Overall, a highly recommended place to enjoy delicious arepas.

Lucho was super sweet and very attentive. He was kind enough to help us get connected to the wifi to get some work done, while we juggled the kids. I had the arepa with grilled chicken, the mozzarella sticks, and the straight cheese one. Even took some home for dinner which heated up easily. The bathroom decor is so cute and original. Highly recommend coming here.

All arepas were amazing! - crispy, fluffy and warm. We got Arepa de chocolo and Arepa Rellena. I like their chorizo, baconand sweet plantains- perfectly seasoning. Also, they also have condensed milk and sauces on the table for you. The atmosphere was cute, nice and cozy. They also big screen on the wall the watch the sports.

A really beautiful place to have Colombian cuisine, the cheese arepas were on the sweeter side rather than savory but had incredible flavor. Service was also quick and provided recommendations on parking and things to do in the area. Overall recommended place for visits and a quick meal.

I came in because I was craving an arepa de choclo (sweet corn patty) with cheese. Ended up having a Patacón with Pollo desmechado. This is shredded chicken with avocado 🥑 served on top of a green plantain which is smashed and deep-fried. This particular dish was executed to perfection & absolutely blew me away! The chicken was juicy & very flavorful and the green plantain was crunchy which made it absolutely delightful and satisfying! I ended up ordering the arepa anyway, just to try it & took left overs home since it is quite large. To my surprise it was thin & presented as a crepe stuffed with cheese, instead of the traditional Colombian arepa de choclo, which is so much thicker sweet corn patty with cheese on top. Even though it was different, I thoroughly enjoyed it! I’m Colombian & have high standards. The service was excellent & will definitely be coming back to this place!

If you never had a Colombian arepa, you are missing out! No place does it better than Arepa Lady. I have tried various arepas and empanadas there, but the arepa de chocolo con chorizo is my favorite. They give you a variety of sauces too, which are all delicious. The restaurant is impeccably clean, the staff is friendly, plus it looks like a perfect place to also get drinks and watch the World Cup next year. They have a massive big screen tv! I love this place!

A great place to visit if you want an arepa! The food is so filling and the sauces are amazing. We previously went to their location in the Dekalb Food Hall, which has since closed so we had to visit the original. Our visit did not disappoint and I look forward to going back.

The restaurant, Szechuan Mountain House is peaceful and beautiful with authentic sichuan dishes that are well presented and delicious. Highlights include the beef soup which has a unique spicy tangy flavor, the eggplant which was cooked perfectly so the texture and taste were perfect, and corn that is addictive and yummy. The only thing not a big fan of was the pork belly appetizer which was bland in opinion.
Easy 5 star experience. Every dish was stellar with extra love for the spicy cabbage dish which was a free appetizer but was so good we got a larger portion. The fish soup was perfection. It’s a dish i really only got into recently but this was by far the best version of it I’ve had. Service was friendly and quick. Seating was comfortable. Loved the decor. Couldn’t ask for anything else, except more room to try more dishes!

I recently dined here, and it was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with traditional décor that set the mood perfectly. The staff was attentive, friendly, and quick to accommodate any requests. The food was the real highlight. The flavors were rich and authentic. Portions were generous and priced fairly, making it a great value. What I appreciated most was the consistency — every dish came out hot, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented.

I came all the way from Canada and can confidently say this is the best Szechuan food in all of North America. I stayed in New York for four nights and ended up having dinner here three times. I just couldn’t stay away. The flavours are incredible, and every dish blew me away. A huge part of what makes this place so special is Frankie. I heard a lot of different opinions about Mountain House and all I have to say is that this is excellent food - I’m already looking forward to coming back. The Fu-Qi special was one of the most delicious and unique dishes I’ve had in the last few months, definitely try this is you’re open to trying new things. I really enjoyed the La-Zi chicken as well though they did skimp a bit on the meat, it was mostly peppers as compared to most photos - still delicious however. Lastly the stir fried cauliflower was the best thing I had, so simple yet flavorful. If you’re thinking about coming here, don’t hesitate and give it a shot.

I will always come back to Mountain House when I need my spicy craving fixed. This is my 10+ time here and it is always satisfying after each meal. Every dish is a flavor bomb, portions are great, and a wide range of menu selection that keeps me coming back to try more dishes. We always get the Lazi Chicken, fish in sour cabbage soup, and beef fried rice. Occasionally, we go back to the house chicken and swing pork belly for something more mild. Overall, amazing food as always, service is great, and remember to make a reservation before coming although the wait isn’t usually too bad with 30 minutes to an hour. One time we came during Mother’s Day and they gave us jasmine tea pudding as complimentary dessert for mothers. Great service!

Tried their Yuxiang Rousi, Spicy Chicken, Cold Pork Slices, and Bingfen, and everything was so good! The Yuxiang Rousi had the perfect mix of sweet, sour, and spicy — super flavorful and tender. The Spicy Chicken was crispy, fragrant, and addictive. The Cold Pork Slices were rich and garlicky but still refreshing. And the Bingfen was the perfect finish — light, cool, and super refreshing after all the spice. The place feels cozy and authentic, and the staff are really friendly. Honestly, it’s one of the best Sichuan spots I’ve had in Manhattan — definitely coming back!

Restaurant
A&A Bake Doubles and Roti is a popular Trinidadian snack shop located in the heart of Bed-Stuy, NYC. The no-frills counter-serve eatery offers iconic Caribbean street food like doubles, which are two barras filled with chickpeas and topped with sweet and spicy sauces. The menu also features other treats such as pholorie, saheena, aloo pie, and bakes with fillings like cod, herring, and shark.
The best doubles I’ve ever had! I’ve heard good things about this place and they lived up to the hype. I got the shrimp doubles that were delicious but the veggie with pumpkin was OMG! My only regret was not getting extras to go. I’ll be back!
TashaeH — Google review
No frills place that had some really solid doubles. Delicious and filling! I challenge you to find a more flavorful deal -2 hefty doubles for $5 (or $2.50 each). The service and decor are about what you'd expect for a neighborhood Caribbean place (maybe a little friendlier than average?).
Lisa W — Google review
The food was good. They have many options of rotis, meat, they also have shrimp. They also have drinks in the fridge. The atmosphere was quite okay, they have a few seats as well. But the costumer service can be improved. The way they speak to costumers was not really polite and we got scared as their tone of speaking a little bit.
Food S — Google review
A&A’s is a Caribbean American institution. If you want doubles in Brooklyn, there is only one place to go — A&A Doubles!!!! An’ iz dat! Been a patron since their original location on Nostrand. The move to Fulton offers a more spacious restaurant, with space to dine in — unlike the lines of their first tiny outpost, that flowed all the way down Nostrand Ave. I love their rotis, aloo pies and saheenas; but whenever I need doubles, no other place but A&As! CAVEAT: Customer service needs improvement. They need to be mindful how THEY SPEAK to customers. Sent a first time patron and the way they were spoken to, treated, and served was deplorable. I felt so ashamed after giving them this referral. A&A’s you are serving a global audience, not solely Trinidadians who accept the BS. Please improve.
JAY B — Google review
Yo, whenever I'm in Bed-Stuy, A&A is the spot for lunch. It's a real find, a total "hole-in-the-wall." A hidden Gem! It is small, unpretentious, and budget-friendly. The decor isn't fancy but the food is 10/10. This family-run business demonstrates a clear dedication to their "art form" - prioritizing food quality and flavor. Although the space is intimate, seating availability has not been an issue.

First and last time in this establishment! I came here after a meeting at my daughter’s school tonight. I hadn’t eaten all day, and my daughter was hungry as well. I ordered curry shrimp, potato and rice for her…and oxtail, rice and channa for myself. I spent $35 sat down and began to eat. I recognized I didn’t like the flavor or the texture of the oxtail I closed the plate up and walked over to the cashier to let her know that I didn’t like the food and would like to get something else instead. I explained I barely touched the food. The cashier had this stunned look on her face, and I turned around and saw an Indian man asked if he was the owner and he said yes…I then explained to him that I didn’t like the food and would like to get something else instead. And he too had this look as if no one ever was disappointed with their food before! But said nothing! So I asked does that mean you can’t do anything about it, and he said basically! Soul food restaurant
American restaurant

Southern restaurant (US)
Sylvia's Restaurant is a Harlem institution that has been serving up generous portions of Southern comfort food since 1962. Founded by Sylvia Woods, a North Carolina native, the restaurant has become an iconic destination for soul food and Black culture in New York City. Located on Malcolm X Boulevard, it offers a creative take on traditional Mediterranean cuisine with a renowned wine selection, tapas menu, and live music on weekends.
I visited Sylvia’s after seeing it featured on the YouTube series Worth It, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! The food is soul-warming and full of flavor. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside — easily some of the best I’ve had. The BBQ ribs were tender and coated with a delicious, tangy sauce. The collard greens had that comforting, slow-cooked depth of flavor, and the mashed potatoes were creamy and well seasoned. And of course, the cornbread was a highlight — warm, fluffy, and perfect with a little butter. The portions are generous, the presentation is inviting, and you can tell everything is made with care. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with a classic Harlem charm. We sat in the covered outdoor section, which was comfortable and had a nice view of the neighborhood. Service was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. If you’re in NYC and want true comfort food with history and heart, Sylvia’s is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back.

We were a party of three for a late lunch. We all had the fried catfish and sides were pickled beets, traditional collars, and candied yams. The service was just okay. It was definitely nothing to write home about. I had to ask the waiter to refill my drink while it had been empty for at least 10 minutes. It wasn't busy when we were there, so waitstaff just needs to be more attentive to the guests. While this was a recommended place to dine, the candied yams weren't sweet at all and something seemed to be missing. The fried catfish was bland. The cornbread was slightly sweet and had a cinnamon after taste. The current owner, Sylvia's grandson, was there. I tried to pay him a compliment and he walked off. If you're looking for customer service, then don't bother coming here. If you want to patronize a Black business and don't care about the food etc., then this is for you.

Sylvia’s was good. I’m visiting from Florida and went because of its history. It’s nice to see the restaurant still maintain its charm. The service was a bit slow though and I heard that with the new owners, the vibe has changed. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the mac and cheese that came with complimentary cornbread. I drank my light meal down with Sylvia’s Uptown drink which I’d assume is her version of iced tea and lemonade. The space is cozy yet very spacious. It’s almost as if you’re stepping back into time going down the timeline of all the class act guests who’s stopped by.

Service with a smile was great! So was the hospitality. Our waitress was pretty busy so she wasn't able to give top notch service but our needs were met. The food... myuah! Delicious and down home. This will not be my last visit to Sylvia's. We met people from the US and those visiting from abroad. Don't skip Sylvia's!

Best soul food we’ve ever had! We ordered the bbq ribs and fried chicken combo, and it came with two side dishes. The portion was very generous so we barely finished. The rum punch was good too. The cornbread was warm and crumbly, 10/10.
Michelle S — Google review
Simply great. Must visit when in Harlem. We got the pork ribs, fried chicken, string beans and mac and cheese (of course). Just real quality and real soul food. The service was fantastic as well and we were lucky to have come 10 mins after opening with no line. When we left there was a line out the door! Corn bread comes for free too 🥰
Hendrick L — Google review
The food was good but macaroni was dry, which was disappointing. Service was just alright, server was polite but did not tend to the table as much as he should have. Overall, the atmosphere was pleasant; warm and cozy with a great vibe. My wife and I would return.

Brunch restaurant
Fine dining restaurant
Urubamba is a top-notch Peruvian restaurant in Queens, offering classic dishes like ceviche for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu features rich and finely-spiced flavors, with many items accompanied by aji panca, Peru's unique red pepper sauce. A highlight is the Parrillada Urubamba, a generous selection of grilled chicken and beef for two. The family-friendly restaurant provides indoor and outdoor dining options.
We had leche de tigre, lomo saltado, papa a la huancaina, anticuchos. Everything was very tasty. We tried the white sangria pitcher. It was enough for like 7-8 glasses. The place was very busy but the waiters were attentive. The downside is that they didnt have any cocktails, and we're out of natural juices.

Disappointing Experience for a Special Occasion We recently visited this restaurant to celebrate my Mom’s birthday, but unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely ignored. We had to ask who our server was, which set the tone for the rest of the meal. Our server had an attitude that was less than friendly—he seemed to hate his job and lacked basic courtesy. To make things worse, we couldn’t even enjoy a private meal. All the waiters kept taking our plates away as soon as we finished, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. It felt intrusive and rude, as if they were rushing us out the door. By the time we finished our food, we were so put off that we didn’t even bother with dessert or continue the celebration. What’s worse is that they automatically included a 20% tip on the bill—perhaps that’s why the service was so poor, since they were guaranteed a tip no matter what. We definitely won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. A truly disappointing experience, especially on a special day like a birthday.
Diana K — Google review
I heard some good things about the Peruvian breakfast from this restaurant. The last Saturday I got sick even tho I wanted to try caldo de gallina and a good classic Peruvian breakfast. As a Peruvian I wasn’t expecting same flavors like you can find in Peru. So, I got the personal breakfast just for me. To be honest, it was delicious probably the sausage lil salty but everything amazing a good amount of breakfast which I think 2 people could eat. They do Peruvian coffee refill which is awesome. The server heard me I was sick and he gave me a tea with lime, which I think was more than nice. I read the reviews but what I saw that morning with the restaurant almost packed I think the guys just got busy sometimes but they’re all are good vibes and nice environment with Peruvian music background. Thanks a lot! I’ll go back for the caldo de gallina and ají de gallina! ☺️

Really nice place to eat, my wife and I enjoyed everything from the service to food. We tried Jalea, leche de Tigre , fish fillet and as dessert a delicious flan. The Red sangria is so good.We definitely need more places like this in Queens way to go guys

Just the most awful experience I’ve had in a long time. Ordered delivery from here via uber eats and was contacted after the order was accepted that one of the items on the app was no longer available so I asked if they could cancel the order. I am well aware that they can cancel it but the person over the phone told me I should do it. I was then charged almost the entire cost of the food to cancel it. Keep in mind they didn’t even have one of those dishes available so how did they start preparing it? I contact the restaurant as Uber says they cannot do anything once the order has been accepted. The person over the phone tells me they never accepted the order and that no manager was there to hear my issue. I hope a manager contacts me to resolve this issue
P T — Google review
I don’t know what has happened, but we used to love this place. However service is lackluster, no sense of urgency. What we thought would be a 1.5 hour dinner, took 3 hours. A can of soda is $4.50 and service tip is automatically added 20%. Not sure what happened to the regular waiter we love, but it’s not worth it anymore. A pitcher of sangria was also $40.
Joanne C — Google review
The food was great, but the prices for drinks are extremely pricy. It was 3.5 for a coke or a sprite, and 4 for Inca Kola (which was a very yummy soda in Peru).

Visitors can also find discounted tickets at the TKTS booth on the red stairs in Times Square.
Needless to say, the most wonderful place in the world. If I were asked to choose one of the most wonderful travel destinations, I would choose this one.

Colombian restaurant
Dulce Vida Latin Bistro is a charming Colombian café nestled in the vibrant Upper East Side, where the essence of Latin flavors comes alive. This cozy spot offers an array of traditional dishes that will transport your taste buds straight to South America. From classic empanadas and hearty arroz con pollo to unique finds like red bean casserole and three-meat tostones, there's something for everyone.
Enjoyed our meal here! We got the combo plates with rice, beans, plantains, avocado, and meat, and thought everything was fresh and tasty.
Danielle K — Google review
The location is very snug but they make it work perfectly on the upper East side. The service was excellent and the server was very attentive. It wasn't really a hot day but the air conditioner was not sufficient for a table of 5 and a place with three sets of guests. The food was the centerpiece and it was excellent. Everything was cooked and tasted like five star restaurant food. My wife actually finished her steak and my son ate all his chips and guac. I loved my three beef tacos. Our relatives also love their food. They give a pretty large portion of food also. My son compared their french fries to McDonald's and said their fries were better.
Jason B — Google review
Such a cozy and welcoming Colombian spot! My mom and I stopped in for lunch and were really impressed. We ordered the steak and the soup/salad lunch specials, along with a beef empanada—and everything was delicious. The space is warm and inviting, and the service was kind and attentive. Highly recommend if you're looking for authentic Colombian comfort food in the UES! The Ajiaco (a traditional Colombian chicken and potato soup) was especially comforting—rich, flavorful, and super satisfying. Perfectly warming and hearty without being too heavy. The steak was also excellent—juicy, tender, and well-cooked. The empanada had a crispy shell with a flavorful beef filling, and the portions were generous for lunch.

Incredible meal, the arroz con pollo was hands down the best plate of food I’ve had in my 31 years of life. My drink was on the top of the list not just for fruity convenience but because it was superior. So delicious and I truly enjoyed my dinner here for my last day here in NYC. 😘😘 will be back!!

I have loved going here, such a gem on the UES. Their sancocho is life-healing for all ailments! I was throwing a party for some friends and wanted to serve great food, so I called Dulce Vida. Maria was incredibly helpful! She portioned out amounts for 10 people with me over the phone, organized the menu, and delivered exactly on time. My guests and I adored the mini empanadas and arroz con pollo, not to mention the plantains that are so delicious! Highly recommend <3

When I visited my brother in New York, I was offered a choice between burgers and Colombian food for lunch. I decided on the Colombian cuisine and was delighted. Louisa delivered excellent service, ensuring our needs were well taken care of. The food was remarkable, providing an authentic and delicious experience comparable to a home-cooked meal made with love. I strongly recommend this establishment. We cannot wait to go back!
Sandra M — Google review
I happened to come across this restaurant because of the NYC marathon. I decided to try it since I've never had Columbian food before. First off, the positive...the service was wonderful. The waitress was very nice and accommodating. However, I found the food to be overpriced for just me and my guest. I spent $100 and that didn't even include drinks. The food taste was mediocre at best. But the worst part of my visit was when I discovered a hair that was baked into a cookie I bought after bitting into it. That caught me off guard as I have never experienced that before. They did reimburse me for the cookie but unfortunately they will never see me again.
