Italian restaurant
Via Carota is an Italian trattoria that offers a cozy and rustic dining experience. The restaurant is known for its traditional plates and apéritifs, attracting long wait times due to its popularity. The menu features classic dishes such as stuffed olives, bruschetta with anchovies, tonnarelli pasta with peppercorns, and meatballs sweetened with raisins and pine nuts.
I could never find a reservation here but it was good to know to go right at opening time for lunch. We were a party of 4 and didn’t have to wait at all. The food definitely lived up to the hype. Everything we ordered was delicious and well made! We ordered a bunch of stuff to share and none of us had any complaints. The only thing I was surprised about was the size of my grilled octopus. It was the tiniest piece and barely big enough to be counted as an entree. Regardless, we all had a great time and would def be back
Fiona D — Google review
Via Carota is a NYC staple. No frills space, super cozy, great for a simple but delicious italian meal. All the appetizers were good and the quality of the produce stands out in all of them. We loved the tomato cucumber salad and the burrata, as well as the sourdough bread to go along. Carbonara pasta is the star of the show, but don't sleep on the desserts: both the tiramisu and the strawberries with zabaione were great. Maybe not worth waiting in line for, but if you see a reservation spot open up, then snag it for sure.
Bianca R — Google review
Wanted to try this place for over a year and finally got to shortly before halloweekend - started waiting in line right at 5 pm and got a table by the windows shortly after. Loved the rustic vibes here and our server gave us a very thorough rundown of the weekly and monthly specials. The mushroom and truffle pasta was interesting, but not as flavorful as I thought it would be. I really liked the veggie soup and broccoli. We got a special dessert with pear, red wine and creme and it wasn’t great, but glad we tried it anyway!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Worth the Wait – A Memorable Dining Experience If you’re planning to visit Via Carota, be prepared to wait — it’s a popular spot and the wait time can be up to two hours. But let me tell you: it’s absolutely worth it. I started with one of their cocktails, and I was genuinely impressed — well-balanced, smooth, and crafted with care. For food, I ordered the charred pork belly with plums agrodolce and the octopus. The pork belly dish was the highlight: the sweetness of the plums paired with the char created an incredible balance of flavor that felt both refined and bold. Truly unforgettable. The octopus was flavorful as well — a bit overcooked in texture, but still enjoyable. The service was great, attentive but never rushed. If you’re looking for a quintessential New York dining experience with thoughtful dishes and a vibrant atmosphere, Via Carota is a must-visit. Just come with patience — the food makes the wait worth it.

Definitely come for the pasta! I don't usually favor the parpardelle but the parpardelle ragu was delicious - paper thin ribbons of house made pasta really hit the spot. I got in easily as a walk-in solo diner at the bar on a weeknight at 6:45pm. Reservations are hard to come by.
Kat N — Google review
The nduja arancini was ok. The boar pappardelle was really good. We both got it which we normally try to avoid but it really stood out on the menu for us both. The fried rabbit was good to share and pair with the pasta. The zabione was a great way to end the meal and might have been the highlight.

I will be drooling for the rest of my life after my lunch outing at Via Carota. I ate way too much, but when there is no hotel nearby and you can't take it to go and refuse to waste one drop of the magic that was on your plate, you eat it all.... Every single bite and there will never be one regret about it. This was Via Carota and what I ordered (picture attached) was Tagliatelle (with Parmesan, prosciutto & peas and a dash of hazelnut in the sauce, if I recall correctly). I had no reservation, walked right in around 11:30 am and got a spot at the bar! So good and definitely worth a visit (on a very, very empty stomach....).
Jennifer K — Google review
I went there for dinner a few days ago, it was a great experience. They usually have limited reservations a month in advance and is mostly a walk in. I got there at 4, and the lady did not come out to officially start a line until around 4:20ish. Once they took my name at 5, I was seated 20-30 minutes later. If you arrive at 5 or later, you can expect to wait anywhere up to 2 hours, so I suggest arriving at 4:15. I sat outside and the atmosphere was great inside and outside the restaurant. I had the Tagliatelle which was very good and I also had the Meyer Lemon Risotto which was great. I had their lemonade for a beverage and it was delicious. I had the Tiramisu for dessert which was a great way to end the dinner. The waitress was very kind and attentive!

Italian restaurant
Restaurant
Lilia is a converted auto-body shop in Williamsburg, owned by the renowned chef Missy Robbins. The restaurant offers wood-fired Italian cuisine and housemade pastas, along with a selection of cocktails. The menu showcases a variety of dishes inspired by different regions of Italy, such as sheep's milk cheese filled agnolotti with saffron and dried tomato, and black bass with salsa verde and coal roasted potatoes.
Lilia is an outstanding modern italian restaurant. I would rate it 4.5 stars, and rounding up to 5 this time because we ordered one of the dishes a second time. The agnolotti is to die for. Perfectly balanced and very rich and complex. We also enjoyed the focaccia and the little gem salad as appetizers. The prosciutto was okay, and the arancini were also only okay. Mafaldini pasta was good. The italian job dessert was good but we expected better from all the hype. Would come back, lovely place, and great setting.
Bianca R — Google review
The Rigatoni was solid. But the Mafaldini lacked flavor. The Agnolotti was the star of the show. The fettucini ragù was flavorful but it was a lot of noodles and not enough sauce. We also ordered a rib eye steak that came out cold and rare, which had to be sent back. Overall this place is average, but overhyped. It’s a 3/5 stars and that’s an honest review. And I’ve eaten at hundreds of Italian restaurants.
Gaetano D — Google review
Such a friendly staff and a beautiful space—busy but not overly loud, which made for a comfortable dining experience. We didn’t realize both the ramp butter and chicken liver dishes came with huge pieces of bread. It would’ve been helpful if our server had mentioned that so we could’ve balanced our order a bit better. I usually love chicken liver, but the plating here—with a greenish-brown piping—was visually unappetizing and made it hard to enjoy. The pastas were nicely cooked, but I didn’t love the texture of the mafaldine with peppercorns—it had a gritty bite that was distracting. That said, the Italian Job gelato was absolutely life-changing. I came in with low expectations because, well, it’s just gelato—but it completely blew me away. Easily one of the best bites I’ve had all year. I’d come back just for that and to explore more of the menu. Definitely worth trying if you’re curious about the hype.
Sarah H — Google review
i love coming to lilia!!! the food is literally always so stellar (highlights: focaccia, clams, spaghetti, italian job) and the hospitality is unmatched (shoutout britt and elle). i try to come back whenever i can. such a special place :)
Katie I — Google review
Did early Friday dinner with our 2.5 year old daughter and had a great time ordering a bunch of pastas. Large outside seating area to enjoy nice weather and staff was great
A B — Google review
Finally got a table here after years of having it on my list. I love sister restaurant Misi so was super excited to try Lilia. The service was excellent but the food let me down. The focaccia was flaky and dry — more like a biscuit than the chewy, moist dough I was expecting. The prawns were a chore to eat and the pastas were good but didn’t blow me away. It seemed like there was a bit of a backup in the kitchen on a Friday night and two of the dishes came out cold but the staff were incredibly accommodating and did everything they could to correct the situation.
Michelle D — Google review
Reservations months in advance at this local hot spot. Food is great and priced as such. Pizzas, pastas, lambs, chicken, but don't overlook the bread, it's fantastic. Food at that price point deserves a 4.5 but not 5 stars. Service and the atmosphere were both on point. Never skip dessert!
Michael N — Google review
Great food and service in a very casual but eclectic setting. There were a couple misses for us but overall absolutely delicious fresh food and we will definitely return. Mozz and bread is a large portion but absolutely worth trying. Cheese was soft and flavorful and bread was thick and crusty. Little gem salad as pretty to look at as it was to eat. Grilled artichoke, I probably could have eaten 5. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Bagna Cauda was a miss for us. The anchovy dip was overpowering and I think I just didn’t understand the dish. We tried the agnolotti based on our server’s recommendation and so glad we did. Soft creamy pillows of deliciousness. Spaghetti also delicious, pasta was al dente with texture from the nuts. Escarole was another recommended dish and it was very good and a nice side. The lamb steak was our other miss. It was cooked well but if I didn’t know I was eating lamb I would have thought it was a bland steak. It had no gamey lamb flavor. We didn’t know but will try next time that there is an off the menu steak and potato dish you can order. It looked and smelled amazing. This restaurant serves unpretentious delicious food, can’t wait to return and try more options.

Italian restaurant
Bar
L'Artusi is a renowned Italian restaurant located in the West Village, known for its exceptional cuisine and inviting ambiance. The menu features a variety of Italian small plates paired with an extensive wine selection. The restaurant has gained recognition for its minimalist yet perfect pasta dishes, such as bucatini with pecorino and pancetta, as well as other standout offerings like Wagyu carpaccio and butter-drenched roasted chicken.
We had such a wonderful dinner, savoring every bite. The cacio e pepe was incredibly flavorful, dense, and perfectly chewy. The swordfish offered an amazing variety of textures — crispy on the outside yet juicy and deeply flavorful inside. Truly the best pasta we’ve ever had. The olive oil cake with raisins was so unique and surprisingly delightful. A memorable meal all around!
Agnes ( — Google review
Sat at the bar and had a great experience overall. The service stood out—our bartender was attentive, friendly, and made sure we were well taken care of the entire night. The food was good and nicely executed. That said, with so many strong options in the West Village, I’ll probably explore some other spots before circling back. Still, worth visiting if you’re in the mood for a solid meal with excellent service.
D O — Google review
L'Artusi has maintained its reputation for over a decade through sheer quality and consistency. The pasta honestly tastes better than all the pasta I had from a recent Italy trip. food here are just simple but amazingly delicious . well worth the effort to snag a reservation!
Shuanger — Google review
We really enjoyed our dinner tonight. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Started with the focaccia. Very good. Then the 2 pastas- both excellent. Loved the tagliatelle and the crab pasta. We shared the hangar steak with the best crispy potatoes! It came with the best onion dip sauce for the potatoes. So good!! Finished with the deconstructed cannoli.
Charles S — Google review
The service at L'Artusi was truly top-notch. Our server was exceptionally nice and so knowledgeable, helping us select a fantastic bottle of wine in such a pleasant way. The food was just as good; the Wagyu carpaccio was divine. I can't wait to go back!
Luisa R — Google review
We came to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and our anniversary and the staff went above and beyond to help us do so. The plates while a bit on the smaller side were fantastic! We were seated upstairs which felt a bit more elevated as there were some parties going on. The tables were quite close to each other so you could easily hear your neighbours conversations but we didn’t mind as it didn’t get too loud! Looking forward to going back!
Nicole C — Google review
This restaurant delivered an exceptional dining experience, distinguished by its outstanding cuisine, beverages, service, and atmosphere. Our server was remarkably courteous and provided excellent recommendations. The manager was very attentive and displayed exceptional hospitality. The burrata, roasted mushrooms, octopus, duck breast, and roasted chicken are highly recommended dishes. We eagerly anticipate returning.
Milton P — Google review
Very nice staff. When my group had asked for some recommendations about what to get we got really good suggestions. Including the Sourdough Focaccia which was genuinely one of the best i’ve had the oil it came with to dip in was so addicting. Another star of the meal was the Duck that was genuinely such a good pairing with the rice it came with and sauce. Lastly, the one thing that I would 100% recommend is the Olive Oil Cake for dessert. I would honestly just go for the cake.

Tuscan restaurant
I Sodi is a cozy and romantic restaurant in the West Village, offering Tuscan-style cuisine and a selection of wines and cocktails. The menu features dishes inspired by Tuscany, including steak tartare, tagliata con rucola, simple pastas like ravioli with butter and sage, lemon pappardelle, and Rome's cacio e pepe.
Love love love this restaurant! Food was delicious and the service was great. Our waiter was so knowledgeable and took good care of us. There were 4 of us dining. We ordered 3 appetizers, 4 main dishes including a 60oz Porterhouse that was phenomenal, and 2 desserts. The Espresso Martinis were also very good. I cannot wait to go back when we visit NYC next time.
Cori C — Google review
Very cute and cosy wine bar-esque restaurant. Service is super friendly and very knowledgeable. Burrata and prosciutto were fine; nothing special. House bread I found underwhelming. Boring, wholemeal bread. My main took about 40 mins so the service is definitely slower than normal. The pasta was great, the sauce was a bit on the salty side but overall nice. The lamb was so tender. Nice wine list but the up marking is aggressive. $22 for my glass of petite arvine - the bottle RRP is $29 making the up marking almost 300% I wouldn’t mind going back and trying the lemon pasta or the famous lasagne. Overall good but didn’t hit it out of the park for me. Acoustics are awful it’s so loud despite the venue only fitting 30 people max
Anastasia B — Google review
Cute Italian spot with a large back room and an old school rustic look. The back patio is an extremely cute extension for the days with good weather. Pasta was good overall. Ordered the paccheri strascicati $26. More to come. Front person who seats you was a bit of a stickler as well. Seemed like there were open tables but he strictly wouldn’t seat people early even 5 minutes or put them near each other even though a bunch of walk-ins came in after. Understood that you can’t seat until your full party is there but seemed quite inflexible. Understood that your parties but might be able to sit together due to how busy it may be but when walk-ins with 4 people can come and grab 2 tables pushed together it makes you wonder. Also our tables were put very far apart with one in the front seating and one in the back. -1 star. Also they ask if you want bread but don’t tell you it’s $5. Still worth it. Overall food is solid. Excellent artichoke and pasta. The lasagna was enough for two people! Our waiter was solid.
Albert K — Google review
I enjoyed the food but not my favorite pasta in New York, a bit overhyped to me honestly. I liked the lasagna but Don Angie’s is better. The best pasta was the lamb whole wheat. I wish it was with non whole wheat but I think they chose whole wheat because the sauce is so dark in color. The pappardelle was also good. Pasta was cooked perfectly to my liking. The lasagna was a bit dry to me and i would prefer more ricotta flavor. The Cornish hen was okay, not memorable. It wasn’t dry but not necessarily juicy. Bread was horrible so skip that. Wasn’t warm and wasn’t good. Prosciutto and melon was delicious but hard to go wrong with that. Cocktails were basic nothing interesting. I prefer torrisi and it’s easier for me to get that reservation so win win for me.
Kyana I — Google review
i had such a wonderful experience here from the service and suggestions to the food and atmosphere itself. this place now has my favorite pasta, the ramps tortellini, and my favorite bite ever. it was flavorful, creamy, and melted in my mouth. other menu highlights were the steak tartar, lasagna, and roasted carrots. am definitely coming back to try their other pastas!
Lori L — Google review
Finally snagged a bar seat to try their famous lasagna. Absolutely worth getting there early for. Very filling, great fall meal. Melts in your mouth. Also got the balsamic carrots on special that were delicious as well as the dark chocolate ganache dessert with biscotti. Wonderful meal.
Sarah S — Google review
The food was good! Definitely better than Via Carota down the road. The lasagna was rich, decadent, and well balanced (not too salty despite the mountain of cheese it comes with). The pappardelle al limone was decent. The noodle texture was good, but I felt as if the sauce was lacking a little. The fried artichokes had good texture but was lacking like a sauce or something on the side ( the artichoke itself couldn’t carry the whole dish I’m sorry).
Jade L — Google review
Authentic Tuscan food. Came here twice for lunch. First time the two of us got the fried artichokes, the daily special pesto pasta, and the pork chops finished with fennel salt and Tuscan kale. The second time we got the zucchini salad, spaghetti Al limone, a daily whole wheat pasta with porcini and lamb, and split the rabbit. Everything wa very delicious and generous portion sizes. Personally I liked the secondis here more than the pastas - I saw someone get the grilled chicken and it look amazing with great char. I would also recommend the lasagna to share as well. Tough to get a prime time dinner reservation, but supposedly the staff says there are tons of last minute day of cancellations. Beautiful outdoor dining space as well.

Restaurant
Don Angie is a renowned Italian-American restaurant located in Manhattan, known for its upscale twist on classic comfort food. Founded by the husband-and-wife team of Angie Rito and Scott Tacinelli, this Michelin-starred eatery offers an intimate dining experience in a marble-accented space.
Loved going to don angie when I was able to get a res (very very difficult). The service was amazing and the food was divine. The lasagne was incredible and highly recommend the caramelle. The chrystanetheum salad and the tiramisu were our other favs. Would love to go back!
Andrew B — Google review
Got a reservation here for the exclusive Chase Reserve event. It was packed! My favorite dish was the mussels. Very different taste, great pasta, and just delicious. My second favorite was the tiramisu as it was very different and crunchy. I thought that the bread and other pasta dishes were good, but they were quite thick dishes. There was a ton of flavor with each but the dishes were so thick with ingredients it created a ton of confusion with textures and tastes. The lasagna had a soft and hard texture. The lobster wasn’t just lobster meat. As long as you’re prepared for a ton of flavors and don’t want just traditional Italian, you’ll enjoy this beautiful venue.

I was able to get a lunch reservation a week in advance on OpenTable and it was worth it! Everything was delicious and lived up to expectations. We ordered the chrysanthemum salad, calamari w/pepperoni rice, caramelle pasta, and the lasagna to share and everything was beyond expectations. The calamari really surprised us, but the salad is a must order. The lasagna is delicious and the portions are huge. The bread it is served with is amazing. Highly recommend this restaurant as “worth it” if you’re trying to get a reservation: keep trying!

Don Angie absolutely lived up to the hype. We came at opening on a weekday and were able to snag bar seats right away. The compact menu is full of creative Italian dishes, and everything we tried was outstanding - the Tonnato Vitello combined veal tartare and tuna carpaccio in a well balanced and savory bite. For pastas, the Sorpresine with Smoked Mussels was very umami, while the Buffalo Milk Caramelle with black sesame and candied kumquats was refreshingly bright. Even the Japanese sweet potato side was a highlight - beautifully crisp and fragrant. Every dish felt intentional and creative, and I can see why this spot gets so much love. Can’t wait to return to try their signature lasagna next time.

Tried to walk in on a Saturday in September around 4:35pm - they said it was a 10 minute wait; we were seated by 5pm. I was very surprised how easy it was to get a table on a weekend night (again, go early!). Delicious espresso martini, lasagna is a must try - the flatbread was incredible and tasted a bit like a scallion pancake. We also split the cauliflower which was great and not too spicy. Service was a little bit lacking - the waiter seemed unbothered to help us, it felt like he had the air of "you're lucky to be in here". He did not come over to take our drink order until we had been seated for at least 15 minutes. He also barely checked on us, and did not seem attentive. This is somewhat disappointing, especially given that we spent close to $250 for the meal. Despite the poor service, I would say I recommend a meal at Don Angie - the food is worth it.

We had a wonderful evening of delicious food and wine at this busy Italian restaurant in a great location in the West Village. Host was so pleasant, which is a great start. Pasta was made with high quality ingredients. The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is the service was a little slow and there is one restroom. Other than that, I highly recommend this establishment.

We took all of the recommendations from our wonderful waiter and wowwww was this place worth the hype! The lasagna of course was the star of the show but I was most impressed with the sweet potato’s! A definite must visit, get in line at 3:30pm and put your name in, definitely worth it!

We ate the MOST delicious gnocchi I have ever eaten here! It’s listed on the menu as Stracchino Gnocchi: Broccoli Rabe, Crispy Garlic, Sharp Provolone. Although we didn’t order it, the stuffed garlic flatbread ordered by other people sat at the bar looked and smelt really appetising. All the food we saw other people order looked amazing. Sat at the bar to have a glass of wine & something to eat after a very busy day in the city. Highly recommend.

Frankies 457 Spuntino is a beloved Italian restaurant located in Brooklyn, established in 2004 by the chef duo Frank Facinelli and Frank Castronovo, also known as The Franks. The cozy interior exudes a vintage charm with its tin ceilings, Edison bulbs, and exposed brick walls.
Amazing lunch here out in the patio on a sunny spring day. Everything we got was fantastic. Highlights were the cavatelli with sausage and pappardelle with lamb ragú. Both desserts were also outstanding: the chocolate tart and the creme brûlée. Service was very nice and polite, and you can tell everything from the menu is high quality and consistent. Try to come on a day you can sit outside because it’s super chill. Will definitely come back!

Pretty packed and highly sought out restaurant. Had to reserve a table days in advance. Some of the location of this particular restaurant appear to be shared by other restaurants, which appear to be owned and perhaps run by the same company/owners. Although there may be outdoor seating in the back, it is difficult to determine since the restaurant next door also has access to the same space. Several bridal parties were held so I am not certain where it ends. Each of the restaurants are Italian themed and also share a "Frank" name. This restaurant has a small menu, so our party was able to of order several different entres. Some dishes we thought were better than others. All different from other older American Italian establishments. It still was an excellent meal.

So happy we chose to host our rehearsal dinner with Frankies in September. We had a private room for 35 people at F&F restaurant & bar with food from Frankies. From the minute we reached out via email, Tucker and the team provided top notch service. Fast forward to the rehearsal dinner: the ambiance, staff, and food were all amazing. It was the perfect way to kick off our wedding weekend in Brooklyn. Thank you!

TLDR; some of the best gnocchi I’ve had. We came in for a late lunch and luckily did get a table right away (it did look super full and they only had one table left). We ordered the beetroot salad and the gnocchi in marinara sauce between the two of us. The gnocchi was absolutely amazing - one of the best I’ve had. All the flavors were incredibly balanced and the texture was perfect. The beetroot salad on the other hand was a bit underwhelming- they’re not kidding when they say it’s a beetroot and avocado salad - it’s literally just that.

Top notch Italian spot. Walked in with a hungry group after an all day event, and everything we ate hit perfectly. The eggplant marinara, meatballs, cavatelli with hot sausage, and Matagliati with boar were particular standouts. Definitely will revisit.

Carbone New York is a high-end Italian restaurant located in Greenwich Village, NYC. It's known for its retro-glam space and tough-to-snag reservations, attracting celebrities like Bad Bunny and Kim Kardashian. The restaurant offers signature touches like complimentary bread and salami service, hand-cut prosciutto & mozzarella sliced tableside with designated scissors, and the famous spicy rigatoni drenched in vodka sauce.
Expectations were unreasonably high, figured it had to be all hype - feel like I've had some really excellent authentic Italian. Was wrong. Everything was incredible, experience to food. Spicy rigatoni - really good. Pork chop - amazing. The corn with truffles - insane. Fish looked great too. They even give some super fresh mozzarella at the start with some garlic bread. Tried the cheesecake and that was fine. Service was impeccable and they do seem to enforce their dress code. So keep on top of that. Was thrilled when my boy Dan was able to get reservations - hope you can enjoy the legendary spot too. Until another visit - back to the supermarket jars 😂

As a first timer at Carbone this past Friday night I truly have to say that the service, food, drinks, and atmosphere were impeccable! A HUGE thank you to the manager Alfonso, bartender Chi Chi, and our servers Marco & Carlos. Amaretto Sour is my go-to drink and Chi Chi made the best one I’ve ever tasted yet! We ordered the Caesar salad, spicy rigatoni, lobster ravioli, the meatballs, and lemon cheesecake. They were all prepared and cooked to perfection! The staff definitely made the experience for my boyfriend Alfonso & I memorable. I appreciate all the hospitality and love theyprovided throughout the night. Their service went above and beyond and exceeded all my expectations. They treated my boyfriend and I like family. This was a perfect 11pm late dinner spot. Cant wait to be back and experience this all over again - I already have another reservation booked next month!

TL;DR: Worth the hype. Great service, standout red sauce dishes, and a classic NYC atmosphere. Book early and try a late lunch for a relaxed experience. Carbone lived up to its reputation. We were visiting from LA and didn’t know what to expect, but from the moment we walked in the staff made us feel welcome. The energy is old school but fun. Our server was easily one of the best parts of the night, he was attentive, charismatic, and clearly proud of what he does. That kind of service makes a big difference. The red sauce pastas are the star here, but everything we tried had great flavor. The Caesar was sharp and balanced, and the cocktails were spot on. We came for a late lunch, which was perfect since dinner gets packed. The whole meal felt smooth, unhurried, and well worth planning ahead for. If you can get a reservation, do it. The food, service, and atmosphere all line up exactly the way you hope they will

Carbone Manhattan Carbone is truly that Italian dining experience everyone talks about and for good reason. The moment you walk in, the ambiance takes you straight into old school New York glamour with a modern, elevated twist. It’s classy, cozy, and full of energy you can feel the buzz from the moment you’re seated. The food? Impeccable. The rigatoni alla vodka is a must creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced with that signature Carbone flavor that makes it unforgettable. Every dish is crafted with precision and authenticity, from the appetizers to the entrées. You can taste the quality in every bite. The cocktails were smooth and well mixed, and the service was top tier attentive, knowledgeable, and professional without being overbearing. It’s easy to see why Carbone is a celebrity favorite it’s luxury dining that feels effortlessly cool. If you’re in Manhattan and want an Italian experience that delivers on taste, atmosphere, and energy Carbone is the spot. 🍝✨

Our group of six had an absolutely magical evening at Carbone. We went with what I’d call the “trifecta” – the rigatoni, tortellini, and ravioli – and each dish was outstanding, perfectly balanced, and full of flavor. For dessert, the tiramisu was decadent, and the chef’s courtesy lemon cheesecake was the perfect refreshing finish to the meal. The atmosphere was lively yet elegant, and the staff could not have been more attentive and welcoming. They made the entire experience feel special from start to finish. Carbone delivered on every level – food, service, and ambiance. We left already planning our next visit. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a truly memorable dining experience.

Visited Carbone NYC for a work lunch and had an excellent experience. The service was exceptional, and the Italian dishes were flavorful and beautifully presented. Highlights included the light and airy Carbone meatball (never thought I’d describe a meatball light & airy!), rigatoni, and lobster ravioli; all perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Since I was with a larger group, I really appreciated the thoughtful service of pre-splitting the rigatoni and serving it individually on our own plates. The cozy, intimate Greenwich Village restaurant has that classic New York charm and the menus are hilariously oversized for such a tiny space. You practically need your own table just to open one!

When a lunch reservation slot unexpectedly opened, we were delighted to enjoy Italian food as it is meant to be. Our trifecta? Rigatoni, tortellini, and meatballs. Their garlic bread trio appetizer and Caesar salad were also delicious and nearly entree serving size. Top that off with Italian flag colored cookies and you’ll say: “il magiare era eccellente!”

Love the old school service. Baked clams, spicy vodka rigatoni, and linguine Congolese were delicious! Brunello wine + limoncello + chocolate hazelnut cake with crème anglaise for dessert was the perfect ending. The only service fault was that the waiter placed our clam order on another table, it sat on the other table for a bit, then he tried to serve it to us. We spoke to a manager who apologized and swiftly had the kitchen prepare a new clam dish. Happy with the resolution.

Marea is an upscale Italian restaurant located in the chic Central Park South area. Since its establishment in 2009, it has been a popular spot for power lunches and has attracted celebrities like Lady Gaga, Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, Beyonce, and Jay-Z. The restaurant offers a mix of meats, seafood, and light pastas that cater to a diverse clientele consisting of leaders in entertainment, fashion, art, and business.
Came here the other day for a birthday lunch and it was delicious! We shared the salad with anchovies which was crisp and fresh and the dressing also on point. For the mains, we tried the shrimp gnocchetti, the halibut, and the scallops - all cooked to perfection. I didn't try any of their cocktails but did have the elderflower mocktail which was tangy and refreshing. Dessert was amazing - the tiramisu with a twist, the millefoglie with pistachio and raspberry atop the deconstructed pâte feuilletée was decadent and light. I had no idea that there was also a birthday dessert with the bomboloni and a mini pistachio cake from the kitchen! Service was incredible - we felt attended to by the wait-staff and I must say the bread basket that continued to circle the dining room was the cherry on top. The ambience was quiet but not stuffy - the perfect setting for a family meal. I would certainly come back here again to try other items on the menu!

This place offers a beautiful ambience with an elegant vibe. The service was top-notch, and every dish was exceptional - you truly can't go wrong with the menu. The octopus fusilli and lobster burrata stood out the most for me - both were rich in flavor and perfectly crafted. I'm already looking forward to returning for another unforgettable meal.

Marea exceeded expectations—from the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel truly taken care of. Attentive, warm, and professional throughout. The food was just as impressive. The seafood dishes were fresh and flavorful, but even non-seafood options like the steak and pastas were just as memorable. Dessert was a showstopper. A refined dining experience with top-tier hospitality. Highly recommend.

Been to this restaurant multiple times, and I found the quality of their food is consistently excellent and the service is also top-notch as it usually is. I highly recommend their octopus fusilli, one of their signature dishes, and their halibut, which, in my opinion, is one of the best dishes on the menu.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Marea, and everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The team made us feel incredibly special — attentive, warm, and professional throughout the entire evening. Every dish we had was exceptional. The Gambero Rosso and the Capesanta were simply outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. When it came to dessert, we were torn between two options, and to our surprise and delight, they brought us both in honor of our anniversary. Such a thoughtful gesture that truly made our night unforgettable. A special thank you to Greg, one of the best waiters we’ve ever had. His deep knowledge of the menu and ingredients made the experience even more enjoyable. You can really tell he loves what he does, and it adds so much to the atmosphere of the place. Thank you, Marea, for an unforgettable evening. We’ll definitely be back!

Where do I even start? Fantastic food and service. The branzino tartare was *chef’s kiss*. The halibut made me gasp. It had last supper energy. Sheer artistry. Staff were also perceptive and patient. I will be back for sure.

$50 lobster roll with one pinky sized piece of lobster. 3/4 of the roll was burrata (why?), pickled eggplant (??) and cherry tomatoes. Travesty of a roll. I’m tasting cheese with fish, when the roll is already soaked in butter. Ridiculously overpriced establishment. For not one good reason. Skip this place and go to Avra down the street if you want real sea food. The servers are very kind though.

Rezdôra is an Italian restaurant that has been making waves since its opening in 2019. Located in a rustic brick-walled space, it offers a menu inspired by the cuisine of the Emilia Romagna region. The chef, Stefano Secchi, previously worked at Osteria Francescana and brings his expertise to create dishes using ingredients like prosciutto, black truffles, and rich ragus.
Exceptional service and a cozy atmosphere make this small restaurant feel special. The tasting menu offered delicious and interesting flavors. They offer a vegetarian tasting menu if desired. The sirloin steak stood out as a highlight for us. The tiramisu was a classic finish, simple and satisfying.

Had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Rezdôra! The staff was excellent — attentive and warm — and really made the evening feel special. The food was fantastic, beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious (even if portions were on the smaller side). The wine selection was also excellent and paired perfectly with the meal. A truly memorable night, and I’d highly recommend it for any special occasion.
Georgia P — Google review
Had an overall pleasant experience at Rezdora on a Sunday evening. Atmosphere is quite cozy and intimate but still casual. All of the dishes we ordered, while good, had the same issue: they were all on the saltier side. The burrata reale was excellent (maitake mushroom is a must), but every so often there would be a bite of way too much salt. Same thing with the tilefish: it was cooked fantastically, but it was too heavy on the salt. For pasta, we ordered Grandma Walking Through Forest in Emilia (incredibly unique, with literal bursts of leek flavor) and the Cappelletti (can't go wrong with beef cheeks and truffle). I wanted to love them, but as many have indicated, the pasta was undercooked to our liking. Perhaps it's just how they do it? But again, the bigger issue is that even the pasta was too salty. The gelati was excellent, though, as the pistachio and salted caramel were a welcome end to our meal. Also a fun fact, but you get Italian lessons through the speakers in the bathroom!
Andrew L — Google review
Did we eat all our pasta before remembering to take a picture? Absolutely. But honestly—it was that good. Rezdora takes pasta to a whole new level I didn’t even know existed. Everything was so fresh, flavorful, and authentically Italian—it truly lives up to the hype. We ordered the Uovo Raviolo di Nino Bergese and the Spaghetti allo Scoglio, and both were perfection—cooked perfectly al dente with such balanced, rich flavors. We also tried the Cipollini, which I can’t recommend enough if you love onions. The only photos we managed to take were of our cocktails and dessert—and those didn’t disappoint either. The gelatos were the perfect ending, and the cocktails were so good it was hard to stop at one. Now I fully understand the hype. Rezdora is absolutely worth the effort to get a reservation—the whole experience is pure bliss.

This is a small and intimate size restaurant. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The ratio of staff to customers create a very high service level. The best place in Manhattan! The food was expertly prepared and perfect in both presentation and taste. It is just like being in Rome! This was 5 star quality food in preparation, presentations, authenticity and taste. By the time we finished our meal there was a line at the door. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Had a lovely brunch there with some friends. Cozy atmosphere, the bar looked welcoming. Service was friendly, very knowledgeable, and didn't miss a beat. We enjoyed a delicious bottle of Lambrusco. Ordered some apps to share. Every bite was delectable. The pastas were great as well.
Joan L — Google review
Pretty below average food close to bad. Starters are actually bad if you consider them starters as they are basically bread with prosciutto, pastas are okay but main dishes are literally SO BAD. Service is quite bad as in all most of this places with “hype”, we had a steak that was completely burnt as you see in the picture and they waitress first said she was on the dinner shift so she couldnt help us and then another one came saying is supposed to be burnt and to taste as coal. We decided not to ask for any dessert or coffee and went somewhere else instead
Eduardo G — Google review
We had an amazing experience at brunch. We were a party of six and ordered a wide variety of dishes to share. Sadly, some of their famous dishes aren’t included in the brunch menu, such as “Grandma Walking Through Forest in Emilia.” They have very vide selections of wines and very balanced cocktails , we tried one of their skin contact wines , mezcal espresso martini and blanc Negroni, my favorite was their Negroni, the out of the menu espresso martini was amazing as well. For appetizers, we had the Mortazza and Insalata Estiva con Cantalupo. For pastas, we ordered: • Verde on Verde on Verde • Uovo Raviolo • Mezzelune con Tonno Affumicato • Modenese Vacationing in Rome From the mains, we tried the Steak and Eggs (Carne e Uova), Frittata del Bosco, and the showstopper Bistecca per Due — a 30 oz, 60-day dry-aged bone-in ribeye. The steak comes with two sides; we chose the Warm Seasonal Greens and Carote Quattro Modi. The cantaloupe salad was refreshing and summery, while the Mortazza was delicious, served with focaccia that was both crispy and fluffy. All the pastas were excellent, but our favorite by far was the Uovo Raviolo — a perfectly cooked egg with cheese inside, topped with black truffles and served with brown butter and mushrooms. It was beautifully balanced, and we could have easily eaten a few more of them. The Verde on Verde on Verde was bright and fresh, like a very unique pesto, though a touch under-salted. The Modenese Vacationing in Rome reminded us of a refined carbonara, and it was outstanding. Our least favorite was the smoked tuna pasta, which felt a bit one-note, though still well executed and tasty. The absolute star of the entire brunch was the dry-aged ribeye. Cooked to perfection, with mushrooms and a salt rub that gave it incredible depth and texture, it was easily one of the best bone-in ribeyes I’ve ever had. The Steak and Eggs, however, was a bit of a letdown — the portion felt small, and the steak itself wasn’t as flavorful or tender. For the dessert we ordered the olive oil cake and the pistachios four ways and both dessert were really tasty. Overall, unlike some reviews mentioning that the food is too salty, we found most dishes perfectly seasoned, with one or two even slightly under-seasoned. The service was excellent — attentive yet relaxed — and the pacing of the courses felt well spaced out. Portions lean small, but the quality and flavor more than make up for it. I was between 4 and 5 stars for this review but the dry aged steak was so good , that I had to give it the 5 stars.

Known for its fresh, locally sourced ingredients, the menu features Northern Italian staples such as creamy mushroom polenta, ricotta ravioli, and homemade black spaghetti with octopus confit.
This Italian restaurant is one of the few places in NYC where you’ll find rabbit on the menu—and it’s prepared exceptionally well. The pear cake was another highlight, perfectly balanced and memorable. The food remains consistently excellent, served in a warm, authentic setting. Also, returning after several years, we were thrilled to find the same high quality and familiar menu we remembered.

I came here on a cold Wednesday night with a good friend in early January who lives nearby. I’m not sure when he booked the reservation but I would recommend making a reservation as the restaurant seemed quite crowded, but not packed. The restaurant is very quaint and feels like a neighborhood staple right when you come through the door. The food was good to great, but not amazing. The service was also good, but not exceptional. The cocktails and drink menu were also nice. This very much seems like the type of place where you would have want to have a nice meal with friends close to home. I would recommend and I would go back.

We wanted to come to al di lá for a while and glad we finally did. Made a reservation beforehand since this place does get busy on the weekend and glad we did. The drinks were delicious, we got a nice recommendation from a gentleman working here. The pasta was good - definitely fresh and quality ingredients but that’s it. There’s a lot of pasta shops in the area and they all sit at the same level of taste. Would definitely stop by again if I was ever in the mood for pasta and wanted to eat out.

Super delicious! Saturday night dinner. Not crowded. Amazing atmosphere. Food was out of this world. Pasta and the starters! Get the oxtail stew thing on the appetizer list. Incredible. Cocktail was excellent too !

We came here for a weeknight dinner. We came in and the place was pretty busy in a lively way. The restaurant was dimly lit with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We ordered 2 Negroni Perfetti which were my favorite part of the meal - as someone who doesn’t drink Negronis often I was very pleasantly surprised I liked it that much! We started with bread and butter which was very good, then the Spring Salad. It was very light and fresh but I would probably order something else next time. Then we ordered the Tortelli di Piselli, a homemade green pasta stuffed with ricotta, and the Ricotta Cavatelli. Between the two I would choose the Ricotta Cavatelli - I loved the savory and slightly spicy tomato sauce on it. Although the Tortelli wasn’t my favorite, I will say both pastas were cooked to perfection, just slightly al dente. We were welcomed by a very nice gentleman when we entered the restaurant. The service was “European” style which I liked - very efficient, but we didn’t feel rushed at all even though we were finishing up around closing time. I would come back again for the vibe and cocktails if I were in the neighborhood again to try some different dishes, and maybe dessert! They also had a great amari/digestivi list which I’d like to partake in next time too.

So excited that I finally had an opportunity to try this Italian restaurant in Park Slope! Food was INCREDIBLE. The pasta was fresh and wine was delicious. Squash ravioli was unbelievable - a MUST order. Do not be deterred by the “second dining space” around the corner if the main dining room is full! I had a fabulous experience and would absolutely plan another dinner in the near future.

Food was very good. Surprisingly the ox tail squid ink polenta was our favorite appetizer. The pork loin main was fabulous. The handmade black ink seafood pasta had good texture. The gnocchi was… different, the center filling could use some texture and more flavor as it felt like mush in your mouth. The pasta ragu was good. Will be back with friends definitely.

Rubirosa is a cozy spot in Nolita, Manhattan, known for its reinvented Italian-American classics and thin-crust pizzas. The standout Tie Dye pizza with vodka sauce, tomato sauce, pesto, and fresh mozzarella is particularly popular and Instagrammable. Former Esca cook Angelo Pappalardo opened the restaurant after learning to make super-thin crust pizzas at his father's Staten Island restaurant.
Second time I've been here I'm not the type of person who goes to a place that only serves pies. I love good pizza, but it's tough for me to justify a whole pie and I'm gonna be honest. I don't really have people to go and explore different pizza restaurants with but this one I was like you know what I need to try this place and I don't regret it. They are focused on the ingredients And in my opinion the tie-dye pizza is a Perfect pizza I'm sure they're original is good too cause the sauce is good. This time around I put prosciutto on it and it was money the saltines and the sauce paired perfectly. Their pizza is high-quality for sure. It is about the right ingredients not about quantity of ingredients. It's not flooded with cheese and dough. If you're into football pizza, this will be disappointing. This is the type of pizza that in my opinion, you eat slow slowly and enjoy. God, I sound like a snob, but it's good pizza By the way, I ordered for pick The place is quite crowded and packed and hard to get a table I think at certain times. Just order a pick up and go eat in the park

Real good food, I know they are known for their pizza but honestly the appetizers were kind of stealing the show. The Tie-dye pizza was ok but the hot honey was soooo so good!!! atmosphere was amazing, little loud but great either way. Their house wine too was nice, have nothing to complain about

The food at Rubirosa is absolutely delicious and lives up to its hype! I loved everything, and the sauce on the pizza is tangy and unique. Service was good, however I made a reservation and chose a time that specifically stated we would receive a regular table rather than bar or elevated table seating. When we arrived, we were seated at an elevated table with no alternate choice. I wish that our reservation selection was honored as we booked in advance and came on time. For me, it wasn't a big issue but it may be good to keep in mind when booking!

Highly recommend making reservations, especially over the weekends. If not, be prepared to wait OR quick to order for pick-up and see whatever gets to you faster: your pizza to go or your seat. We arrived with no reservations ima Saturday evening and the wait for either bar or table seating was expected to be just over 1 hour, which we expected. We ordered pizza via DoorDash for pick-up of the small half classic and half hot honey pizza. The hostess was friendly and placed us on the waitlist via text system. Our pizza for pick-up arrived first and it was easy to remove yourself from the waitlist. Now the pizza was good to share between two people. Nice thin crust, nice char, loved the cheese/sauce ratio (more cheese), now the hot honey pizza I wasn’t a fan of the soppresatta and should have subbed it for pepperoni. Overall great pie and would come back, but only with reservations or for pick-up. Not able to comment on service as we picked-up but the hostess was friendly.

Best mozzarella sticks, pizza and tiramisu we have ever had! The Tie Dye and Rubirosa Supreme pizza were amazing! The staff were super helpful too. Thank you!

Definitely a restaurant geared for a younger crowd. But, we had a delicious dinner. We started with a Caesar salad and asked for A side of anchovies. The salad was generous and lightly dressed. We also started with an order of the eggplant Parmesan. The eggplant was tender and the red sauce was Fresh and tangy. For our entrée, we shared an order of the cavatelli with broccoli rabe and Italian sausage. With that, we ordered a side of the broccoli rabe with garlic. Everything ordered was very good and I am impressed.

Rubieosa is deserving of its reputation for good food. We were promised a 95 minute wait for a table. However a table came available in 30 minutes. Service friendly and attentive. Restaurant very busy and pretty loud. Menu has a good selection of Italian fare. Pizza crust could not be thinner without becoming a crepe. This adds some real crunch at the edge. Desserts are good. Both gluten free desserts available have a lot of chocolate

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Greenwich Village, Lupa Osteria Romana is a charming Italian eatery that brings the essence of Roman cuisine to life. This delightful trattoria, co-founded by culinary icons Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich, offers an authentic menu filled with traditional dishes like Bavette Cacio E Pepe and Ricotta Gnocchi. The inviting atmosphere makes it perfect for a relaxed dining experience.
Food was great. We had the octopus, steak, pork chop and tiramisu. The pork chop was AWESOME. The wine was delicious. Not sure why this place has 4.3 stars. It was great.

I visited Lupa in NYC with a group from work and had a great experience overall. The service was excellent: attentive, knowledgeable, and made the meal feel seamless. The food was solidly good, with the meat and fish dishes standing out as the highlights for me. Everything was well-prepared and flavorful. I’m not a huge fan of pasta in general, so it’s hard for me to evaluate, but I didn’t find the pasta dishes particularly amazing. They were good, but nothing that wowed me. Overall, Lupa is a great spot for Italian food, especially if you enjoy well-cooked proteins. The ambiance was welcoming, and it's a solid choice for a group dinner. Would definitely return!

Lupa has a warm, rustic charm that transports you straight to Rome, though the tables are packed a bit too close for comfort. The service was friendly and efficient, striking a nice balance between attentive and unobtrusive. The menu had a great selection of Roman classics, which got me excited. I started with the Carbonara, expecting something rich and indulgent, but it was underwhelming—missing that velvety, peppery punch. The Bolognese was fine, nothing groundbreaking, but satisfying enough. Despite the mixed experience with the food, the overall vibe and hospitality made for an enjoyable evening.

Our recent lunch at Lupa Osteria Romana on Thompson Street was a fantastic experience, perfectly timed before catching the 8 PM show at nearby Blue Note. The outdoor seating offered a lovely setting for a relaxed meal, as seen in the photo. We enjoyed several delicious dishes, including flavorful Meatballs, a unique and tasty Spinach with Pear, Panelle & Speck, and a refreshing Beets Salad. A significant highlight of our visit was a special promotion: we received a 50% discount on a bottle of wine over $300. This was a unique offer due to the restaurant's ongoing merger process, making our meal even more exceptional. The service was excellent, and the overall experience was delightful. Lupa Osteria Romana truly delivers on quality Italian cuisine and is highly recommended, especially for a pre-show dinner.

The first time I was brought here by my friend I had an immaculate time (2023). The caio e pepe was perfecto. The second time I came here, I brought other friends and was VERY disappointed by the caio e pepe. The pasta was undercooked and they were stingy with the black pepper. The picture was from the second visit. The amatriciana was not bad! Service wise, because we were underdressed and sat us (4 people) outside, they never checked up on us. They did waive the caio e pepe on the bill so I am pleased with the compromise.
Trevor D — Google review
The service and atmosphere were great, but the food fell short. The corn tortellini with lobster and lemon had lobster shells in it, which was disappointing, and the carbonara was overly salty
Anastasia M — Google review
Great food! The duck is juicy and has great flavor. Also loved the black spaghetti with seafood. Also the artichokes were a pleasant surprise. If you want a good meal and good service, you’re in the right place! I brought a bottle of wine and the cork fee was 70ish, but that’s ok

Make sure you make a reservation for dinner because it gets busy very fast! Food was delicious and staff were very friendly. I would love to come back and try some of the other pasta options. Highly recommend the lamb dish which is the perfect amount for 3 people. You can expect to pay around $50-$100 per person (depending on drinks), but the price is worth it. There is outdoor seating as well but I did not see anyone there since it was a pretty cold night.

Maialino is a classic Roman-Italian restaurant located in the Gramercy Park Hotel, offering a casual yet elegant dining experience. The menu boasts delicious pancakes with ricotta that are described as satisfyingly big, thick, and perfectly round with a tantalizing crisp edge. The restaurant reimagines old-fashioned Roman trattoria in modern New York City and uses local produce to create traditional Italian dishes.
They say first impressions last! Well, my first wasn’t as good as my second. I had a much better experience second time around. The seating was good. I made reservations so there was no wait time. Servers were polite and offered great service. Food was great! The wine and champagne suggestions were off the rock! I will be back!

A comfortable place with nice view of the Garmercy Park. Perfect for people watching. Overpriced food and lame service. Went for brunch over the weekend and ordered a bunch of plates. The chef's basket was great. All the other were not impressive. The classic pasta Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe was too salty and the pasta overcooked. The brussel sprouts were mostly burned. Our server was slow and indifferent: no smile and never asked once how's everything. When we asked for a box for the leftover she even packed the bones. No wonder this is a no tipping restaurant because I really didn't feel like tipping LOL.

Went for lunch but it was awesome. I had prosciutto and mozzarella for antipasto and the ham was so tender and tasteful, so as the mozzerella. The pasta was great too. There were great selection of wine and it said "BAROLO bar" at the bar at the entrance which I would definitely like to try next time. You will need reservation to get a table.

Top tier service, sophisticated and warm atmosphere. The girls and I sat at the bar and had a few drinks. The bartender and all of the wait staff were friendly, polite and professional. One of the best espresso Martinis I’ve ever had. Speaks volumes because I’ve had quite the fair share of espresso martinis in NYC. The bartender was a blond guy with shaggy hair and I wanted to personally recognize him! He made our party happy! I can’t wait to try their renowned Italian food next time!

I can't say enough good things about Maialino. First, the staff is top notch from the moment you walk through the door, to your server and wine service--impeccable. Food allergies? No problem and always attentive to my needs. As for the food, as an admitted carnivor that eats super low carb, let's just say that I was over the moon with their selection, quality products and perfect execution. I've had nearly all of their main courses, but to this day, always look forward to the roasted pig. Just wow! Another amazing meal at Maialino.

One liner review - hype over Cacio e Pepe was overrated. We heard so many good things about this place especially about Cacio e Pepe (literally cheese and pepper) and Amatriciana pastas. We ordered both and while I enjoyed amatriciana I was quite disappointed in cacio e pepe. It reminded me of a mac n cheese in pasta. Some reviews say cacio e pepe pasta was too salty but the saltiness was just about right, but it was rather a bit bland. Not sure if it needed more talk but it was just ok. I enjoyed the texture of Amatriciana pasta more. Their quanciale in this pasta was the best I have tasted ever, very rich in flavor and both crisp/fatty at the same time. Service wasn’t particularly friendly but practical and professional. They don’t get tips so they don’t have to be friendly. Tip: Last-minute booking is pretty doable. I called the day before my intended visit during peak vacation period and they were able to squeeze me a spot at 5:30 PM. Call them and see if they can make you a seating. I took out one star because I expected a lot more in Cacio e Pepe pasta.

We had dinner here to celebrate a birthday. The food was superb. The service was a bit slow because they were busy, but the servers were very friendly and courteous. Will come again.

This 5/5 is specifically for the awesome burger we had on our first visit, which happened to be at lunch time. This burger was one of the juiciest, most flavorful burgers I've had in a very long time. The beef patty on its own was awesome! But I certainly couldn't complain about the super thick slice of bleu cheese and the bacon they put on top. That same meal, we also got a side of potatoes (they were not on the menu and were a special request that our fantastic waiter was great about) and dessert. The potatoes were fantastic - crunchy on the outside and with enough seasoning that they required no sauce or additional sauce. For dessert, we did the Tiramisu and two scoops of Gelato - one of chocolate and one of cherry. The Tiramisu was very light and just the right amount of sweet - not the overly sweet that I've found in most others. The chocolate Gelato tastes dark and rich, while the cherry was a bit Tart. Yum! We visited the next day for breakfast. Everything was absolutely delicious, but not quite as life changing as lunch. Although I would strongly encourage getting bacon because it was the thickest cut of bacon I've ever seen. So good!

Barbuto, a beloved NYC establishment, has been revitalized and now offers vibrant Italian dishes along with private dining options. The restaurant is renowned for its signature dish, the legendary JW chicken, as well as market-driven salads and seasonal pastas. The open kitchen features a wood-fired grill that adds a Cal-Med touch to the Italian cuisine.
One of my favorite restaurants in the city Have been there several times and wanna come back for sure! The food is just fantastic! you have to try their signature dish - kale salad, it’s amazing ! also their chicken is something incredible, for me it's the best combination Last time I fell in love with their meatball And of course the service and staff are great. try to make a reservation there, especially for dinner on the weekend my personal recommendation, come there during the day on brunch time on sunny day

We had a great early dinner here. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. We had the kale salad, the meatball and a pizza and all were superb. I don't normally like kale but that kale salad was something special. Even my kid who is a picky eater loved it!

We hosted our wedding dinner reception at Barbuto BK, and it was absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel so cared for — everything ran seamlessly. The food was incredible (our guests are still talking about it!), the drinks were a hit, and the space was just beautiful for such an intimate celebration. Every detail felt thoughtful and effortless. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience — thank you, Barbuto, for making our wedding night so unforgettable!

Last night was our third time at Barbuto, and honestly, we were very disappointed with the service. We were a group of six and ordered a pizza as an appetizer, but the staff made us wait until they could take the full order. When we finally placed it, we clearly said the pizza was a starter, but when the food arrived, they brought the pizza and the main courses all at once—except they forgot two of the dishes. Those two people ended up eating much later than the rest of us. We appreciate the gesture of removing the delayed dishes from the bill, but the service really needs improvement. We doubt we’ll return.

My son, daughter-of-heart and I had a late lunch here. Our waiter, Eduardo, was attentive and helpful. Cleaned table and reset between courses. We ordered several dishes to share We had the focaccia(superb), a meat ball (plenty large enough for us all to have a good taste) and the kale salad to start. I hate kale...and had 2 large helpings! Main courses were roast chicken...so NOT boring chicken; pasta carbonara...make sure you are good with black pepper, which we do, so SUPERB; and the potatoes were THE BOMB! I just wish we had room for dessert!
Marylynn D — Google review
Went to Barbuto for the first time at their Horatio Street location. Last time I visited was at their Washington Street Location. Totally different vibe from before - much more of a a sterile environment, though clean with an open kitchen. The bartender, Dylan, was the best part of our evening. We insisted on crushing half a round at the bar before sitting, which the host happily obliged. That’s when service sorta…. Stopped. We sat early at 5:30. It took us around ten minutes or more for drinks, the first round at the table. Then each other round of drinks seemed also to take forever. The food was very good: Steak, Chicken, Gnocci, Burrata and Prosciutto to start with delicious bread and EVO. But we couldn’t really enjoy ourselves because we just kept waiting each time someone needed a drink. When my wife brought this up to our server, he replied that he “was very busy.” With this wait, we still spent over $200 on drinking between three people- our bill w/tip was just under $500. Noted it was a birthday on my reservation - no bday recognition once from the time we entered. Overall, while the chicken is some of the best in the city, I don’t see a need to come back. The guest is no longer central to the spirit of Barbuto’s new vibe. Side note- the service staff (bussers and runners) were incredible in execution, though not into small talk, haha.

The Jonathan Waxman chicken is a must order. It will change your life. I almost never order chicken at restaurants but at Barbuto I will every time. The chicken is super tender and I actually enjoy the white meat. The salsa verde is the perfect compliment. The space is huge and bright; a stones throw from the floating island.

Bar Primi Bowery is a trendy Italian eatery in the East Village, offering a menu focused on delectable pasta dishes, complemented by an array of cocktails and an extensive selection of Italian wines. The restaurant boasts a vibrant sidewalk scene, making it perfect for people-watching while enjoying your meal. With its relaxed ambiance and reasonable prices, Bar Primi is an ideal spot to indulge in brunch favorites like ricotta pancakes or breakfast pasta with a perfectly cooked egg.
This place absolutely blew my mind. From the service, food presentation to the actual food. I was left speechless. I was celebrating my birthday and the manager Victoria was extremely accommodating. The atmosphere was perfect for any occasion, if you wanted to go on a date or to simply have dinner with a friend. I don’t drink alcohol but my friend does, so I got a mock tail and she got cocktail. All the dishes we had were amazing! But the star of the show was the NY strip. I am not a huge fan of steak, but this steak BLEW MY MIND. The pieces were so perfectly cooked they melted in my mouth. I truly enjoyed every piece of that dish. The potatoes and the arugula gave it a good balance as the potatoes were also perfectly cooked. I am truly amazed by this restaurant and I can’t wait to go back.
Carmen G — Google review
We had a great dinner at Bar Primi on the Bowery. There were a couple of surprises, but the experience overall was very positive. The Caesar salad was excellent. The romaine was whole leaf, super crisp, perfectly dressed, and full of flavor. Then I ordered the chicken piccata, which I assumed would come with noodles (or at least the option to add them), but they don’t allow substitutions. Still, the dish itself was delicious: the chicken was tender and the lemon-caper sauce was light but flavorful. It was a little salty and less lemon-y than I prefer. But still excellent. The service was absolutely impeccable. The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional from start to finish. Every staff member we interacted with was kind and efficient, which really stood out. That said, the restaurant is extremely loud. We went upstairs which I hoped would be quieter but no… It was also very hot. It’s a lively, energetic atmosphere, but if you’re looking for a quiet meal or an easy conversation, this might not be the place. Overall, the food is thoughtful and well-prepared, the service is top-tier, and the setting is trendy—just don’t expect to customize your meal or chat easily over the table noise.

AMAZING!!!! Service is great! Food is great! The toasted bread with the whipped ricotta the nuts and the honey is phenomenal. Most of the pasta dishes are outstanding. Especially the squirting pasta. I get that every time I come here. The Branzino is off the chain!! Get the meatballs and Caesar salad salad also as a starter . The strawberry and chocolate dessert is in my favorite so I would opt in for the pistachio gelato, which is amazing. The tiramisu is pretty good too. Try the frozé next time you’re here. The canatelli pasta is also amazing. There is just one booth upstairs towards the bathroom where it does get a little hot. I don’t think the AC reaches over there. But other than that 5/5 stars.
Dwight K — Google review
My friend and I visited Bar Primi Bowery as walk-ins on Saturday, November 1, 2025, around 5-7pm and were seated at the bar. The food was absolutely amazing. Truly exceptional quality that showcases why this place has built such a strong reputation. The majority of the staff were attentive, warm, and professional, making us feel welcome despite not having a reservation. Our server was particularly wonderful, consistently checking on us throughout our meal and ensuring we had everything we needed. However, our experience took a significant turn when a female bartender began her shift (we didn’t see her when we were seated initially). She set up her station directly in front of us and proceeded to mix drinks with notably aggressive movements, slamming shakers and equipment loudly. At one point, liquid splattered onto me from her mixing. What was most concerning wasn’t the accident itself (these things can happen in a busy bar) but her delayed and dismissive response. When she finally apologized, her tone was curt and almost accusatory, as if we were somehow at fault for being seated where we were. We chose not to escalate the situation given how crowded the restaurant was, but this interaction genuinely dampened what should have been a wonderful evening. The contrast between her demeanor and the rest of the staff was striking and unfortunate. We hope this was simply a bad day and not related to any other factors, though we couldn’t help but wonder given the stark difference in how we were treated compared to her demeanor with other guests. To management: I hope you’ll review what happened during our visit on November 1st between 5-7pm. The food and ambiance at Bar Primi are too good to have guests feeling unwelcome. While I can’t speak to her intentions, the treatment we received left us questioning whether there was more to her attitude than just a bad day. I want to return for the incredible food, but I hope this feedback leads to some reflection on consistency in hospitality across your entire team.

Ultimately, a very decent meal, not mind-blowing pasta, but really great desert. The ravioli portions are super tiny. The squid ink pasta was great. The bolognese… I hope that wasn’t their best attempt. Strong statement, but trader joe’s does it better. Caesar salad was good, light on dressing for me. Also $20 for 9 pieces of lettuce with sauce and breadcrumbs? Not sure if that’s a deal. But it was tasty The dessert is where I think this place has real pizazz. Comfy seats, cozy atmosphere, waiters wear bow ties Vegetarian and gluten-free friendly
Isabella G — Google review
The pasta was fine basic spaghetti with tomato sauce and a few basil leaves but nothing memorable. I added grilled chicken for $9, and the portion that arrived was tiny, maybe a handful of small pieces. For a $35 meal, you’d expect something to round it out maybe a side salad, a piece of bread, or even a little garnish. Instead, it felt like a plain takeout portion that could’ve easily been half the price. The flavor was okay, but overall the value just isn’t there. Definitely not something I’d order again.
Karissa T — Google review
It was a great place with authentic fresh pasta and delicious appetizers for Sunday Brunch. Each of us ordered a different pasta dish and we got to taste every pasta that we ordered. We all concluded our favorite was the morning spaghetti (basically carbonara with a twist of how they made it). Other memorable dishes were burrata with honey and pulpos. The prosecco tower was really pretty and thirst quencher. The atmosphere and service were pretty good with outdoor seating if you like. We opted to sit inside for AC. We definitely want to try them again at dinner time with more pasta selection

Went for lunch during the weekend, a bit on the quieter end, but the service was 11/10 and the food was all fresh. Great ingredients and a nice spot to meet up with friends, solo or family. Loved the Cesar salad AND THE MEATBALLS delicious, they have an interesting breakfast section that I’d like to try next time.

Nestled just south of Greenwich Village, Bar Pitti is a charming Italian eatery that captures the essence of casual dining with a touch of glamour. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and prime outdoor seating, this spot offers an enticing menu primarily focused on pasta dishes, complemented by daily blackboard specials. While some may argue that Italian cuisine shines brightest at dinner, a visit to Bar Pitti proves otherwise—lunch here can be equally delightful.
Cash only exceptional Italian dishes. I had this saved on a list for a while and as we were looking for a quick bite, it popped up. The service was so exceptional. I was glad we got there right before the lunch rush because as we were leaving the place was packed. Very small, but also very welcoming and kind. I would love to eat here again. Excellent recommendations from the staff.

This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in New York City. Everything is incredible. You can’t go wrong here and the service is wonderful. If you don’t know what to order just ask them. What’s the best. There specials are to die for. Also, the dessert is great too very tasty. Can’t wait to go back.
Nikki B — Google review
Bar Pitti is a very charming Italian restaurant, really well located and with a lively atmosphere that makes it a great spot to enjoy a meal. The ambience is warm and welcoming, and you’re attended by Italian servers, which adds an authentic touch to the experience. We started with bruschettas topped with prosciutto, which were excellent—simple yet full of flavor. They also brought fresh bread with olive oil to the table, a nice classic touch. For the main dishes, we tried a few different pastas. The truffle fettuccini was good, but honestly, the truffle flavor wasn’t as strong or rich as we had hoped. The carbonara, on the other hand, was excellent—creamy, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the meal. The tagliatelle with marinara sauce was fine, though nothing particularly special. One thing to note is that the restaurant does not accept credit cards, which is quite unusual and a bit inconvenient. On top of that, an automatic 18% gratuity is added to the bill, which I personally did not like, as I prefer to decide the tip myself based on the service. Overall, Bar Pitti has great vibes, attentive service, and some solid dishes—especially the carbonara. But the payment policy and the mandatory gratuity are definitely something to keep in mind before going.

Some of the best pasta and also meatballs in NYC! Staff is very nice and accommodating and the service is excellent. Def recommend going on the earlier side for dinner on a weekday so you don’t have to wait

Do not go to this place. From the moment we sat down we were treated as if the staff were doing us a favor by letting us eat there. I’ve seen the other reviews praising the “fiery” atmosphere, “fast” service, and “authentic” food but our experience was the complete opposite. The entire staff came across as rude. We were rushed to order, rushed to eat, and twice they tried to clear our plates while we were still eating. While we had dessert we were being watched the entire time. They even dropped the check with a “no rush” comment right after we got our dessert. The food itself was average at best and of course an 18% service charge was automatically added to the bill. Don’t fall for the influencer hype. This place is not representative of the amazing hospitality most NYC restaurants are known for. Save your money and your energy.
Maria O — Google review
The pasta is very good, but I think the service could improve. I went at a time when it wasn't busy. I hadn't even been seated for 2 minutes and the waiter was rushing me to place my order without giving me space to choose. The payment method is cash only, which makes your experience terrible because before even ordering I had to count the money to know if I had enough to pay in cash.

Emilio's Ballato is a charming Italian restaurant that has been a staple in the neighborhood since 1956, offering an authentic Italian-American dining experience. As you step through its gold- and red-etched windows, you're greeted by old-school waiters who set a warm and inviting tone. The narrow space is adorned with crystal chandeliers and vintage memorabilia, creating an ambiance reminiscent of classic Little Italy eateries.
I can where for my birthday with my sister who is in town from Indiana. It did not disappoint! As a veal parm enthusiast, I was extremely pleased! Calamari is usually the same everywhere you go, but this was even better, somehow. The meatballs were elite. Worth the wait! I would recommend getting here about 30 mins before they open if you want dinner. Very pleased! The staff is very charming and adds to the life of the restaurant.
Patrick C — Google review
This place, which first opened in 1956, is one of the true icons of old-school New York Italian dining. The restaurant is small and keeps its vintage charm intact. The servers are older gentlemen, and while the food—including the complimentary bread—was genuinely delicious, the service left much to be desired. As a solo Asian diner, I was given the bread but not the olive oil that usually accompanies it, and unlike other tables, I wasn’t offered any Parmesan cheese with my pasta. That kind of detail made the experience feel uneven. I asked for more bread because it was that good, but the second round wasn’t warmed and didn’t taste quite the same. Both the vongole and chicken parmigiana were excellent. Still, like many old-school institutions, the service here doesn’t quite measure up—and unfortunately, that tends to overshadow the quality of the food, which is a real shame.
Sanguk A — Google review
The atmosphere is great. Cute old school decor. But way overpriced for the quality of the food. The food was not great, especially given the high price and the huge number of much better Italian restaurants just a fee blocks away. Unfortunately this is the worst chicken parm I've had in an Italian restaurant (dozens and dozens). It was a little overcooked and loaded with so much grated parmigiano cheese that it was all I could taste. The tagliatelle bolognese was good though. Nice texture on the pasta and flavorful.

Absolutely loved this restaurant. Queued to sit but the wait wasn’t long. It’s a small cosy place with not much seating and no reservations. We were lucky our wait wasn’t long. Staff were very friendly, it gave very much family vibes. The food, amazing. Good portion sizes, good flavour and great options to choose from. Had the focaccia to start, good and not overly filling and the burrata, which was delicious and creamy. Also had the calamari, huge portion. Then went with the penne all arrabiata and then the gamberi fra diavolo. Honestly so flavourful. Wish we’d gotten some dessert, but will do next time, for sure. Can’t wait to go back. Fantastic value for money.
Lolita L — Google review
Emelio, not the nicest guy watching the door outside. You can't make a reservation so everyone waits outside. All the patrons as they were leaving said the wait was worth it. They were correct. A very restaurant but a great atmosphere inside. I wish I had taken a suggestion for the Shrimp Scampi Risotto. I was stubborn and stuck with the dish I went for. It was excellent too. I would definitely go back, but later after the sun has gone behind the buildings. It can be quite warm.

This was my first time in New York and this restaurant was recommended. Very beautiful place. Some areas reminds me of visiting family others are history of celebrities that have visited. Very quaint and cozy atmosphere, so I was excited to eat here and experience good food. That was until the server came. The waiter didn't smile, he wasn't pleasant, didn't look at us. He bluntly ask what kind of water I wanted without giving the options until asked. He walked off quickly and brought back water in dirty water cups. At this point, I already felt unwelcome so I said nothing. I look over at the other table and the waiter is pleasant and giving that table a great experience. I said ok.. Maybe we will get that. He takes our order but seems to not be happy about it. Hes not smiling, hes not recommending anything, he didn't look at us when ordering. He walks off quickly. He brings out bread. I noticed that the bread he gave us was slightly burnt on some and completely inedible on a couple others. As I eat, I noticed the other tables around us has bread that is lightly toasted and came with sauce. I didn't say anything. At this point I am ready to go. I feel very unwelcome and becoming sad. My spaghetti was chewy and hard. Pasta noodles seem to be not fully cooked. Definitely not al dente. Very salty and not hot but not cold. Before we were even done, I gave him my card. The vibe was gone. The atmosphere is ruined and I was no longer having a good experience. I didn't understand why everyone around me was getting smiles and warmth but I got cold and no eye contact. I definitely will not be recommending this restaurant to ANYONE and will never visit again. This place was so bad, I did not go to another Italian restaurant while I was in New York thinking I would get the same treatment. And yes, I still left a tip, smaller than I normally give. After thinking about it, I shouldn't have with the service I got.

Hands down the worst dining experience I’ve had in over 14 years of living in NYC. Let me start by saying: I have never written a bad review in my life. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt to any establishment. But this experience left me no choice—this is the first negative review I’ve ever written, and I’m doing so because people deserve to know what they’re walking into. We made a reservation weeks in advance for my sister’s birthday. You’d think that would mean something—but no. We were made to wait 45 minutes past our reservation time, only to be shoved into a tiny, hot corner of the restaurant so cramped I could feel the body heat—and sweat—of the strangers next to me. I wish I were exaggerating. There was zero acknowledgment that we were there to celebrate a special occasion. No effort, no care, not even a simple “happy birthday.” Once seated, it took another 30 minutes for anyone to even greet us or offer water. They didn’t bring enough glasses for our table of 12, and after flagging them down multiple times, they finally brought the rest—ten minutes later. The drink orders were wrong. The service was disorganized, aloof, and bordering on rude. Then came the food. The only remotely enjoyable thing was the mozzarella, tomato, and red pepper appetizer—which actually tasted fresh. Beyond that? We were served a sad excuse for a “family-style” Italian meal that tasted like cheap, boxed grocery store pasta loaded with filler ingredients and zero love. You know that gummy, overcooked, flavorless pasta you might get at a school cafeteria or from a microwave tray? Yeah—worse than that. And let’s talk about the portions. For 12 people, they served what most halfway-decent restaurants would give to a table of six. And for dessert? Two tiny slices of cake. For a birthday dinner. For twelve guests. To make matters even more absurd, the cramped little room they stuffed us into looked more like their storage closet than a dining area—complete with boxes visible in the background. I’m posting a photo to prove it. I’m sorry, but that is not an aesthetic. The price? $200 per person. The value? Absolute robbery. Drinks weren’t even included. That’s extra. And the cherry on top? They added a 25% gratuity automatically—without saying a word. People don’t come to Emilio’s Ballato for the food or the service—they come for the name. And what they leave with is a bloated stomach, designer clothes soaked in sweat, and a dinner bill that insults your intelligence. This place is a joke. An overpriced, overrated, underperforming mess. And worst of all, they have the nerve to call it Italian cuisine. As someone who respects and reveres Italy’s culinary heritage, I can confidently say Emilio’s Ballato is a disgrace to Italian food and culture. If you’re thinking about dining here—don’t. Spend your money somewhere that actually gives a damn about the people walking through the door

Best Italian meal we have ever had. Linguini with fresh clams, tender and chicken Parm was thin and divine - pastas were perfect. You can order cocktails and wine by the glass, just ask - did not have a menu for drinks besides bottle wine list. Amazing and will come back every time i am in NYC.

Roberto's is an Italian restaurant located in the Bronx, run by Chef Roberto Paciullo, a Salerno native. The eatery offers a no-frills old-style setting and serves Salerno specialties. The menu features blackboard specials for a proper four-course feast, including dishes like grilled calamari with the consistency of steak, tinfoil-baked radiatore in vibrant red sauce or olive oil, and short ribs in a rich chili-pepper-and-beer sauce.
Very old school charm style that has some signature Italian dishes across categories. I really enjoyed the pastas here, and the pork chop is remarkable. Veal ossobuco is divine. Good wine selection as well. Wait times can be long between courses.

It must have been sold. It was absolutely horrendous from the eggplant and no zucchini starter with cold tomato sauce to the gelatinous mess they called sauce on a pork chop that was billed as double cut that was butterflied open with a spicy sauce of fried tough artichokes and over fried potatoes. The special pear ravioli had no pears five anemic discs of flat pasta with tasteless filling. Only the one glass of Pinot noir was good. I have no idea what has happened here but it was the worst meal ever in The Bronx!!!

Everyone was very friendly and we were seated right on time for our reservation. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu both food and wines. My son and I truly enjoyed the night! He got the strip steak special with shishito peppers, pictured below. His meal was outstanding. I got a chicken dish that was plenty good, but wasn't blown away by it.

My wife and I relocated to Charleston SC a few years ago so have not been on Arthur Ave in a while. Having grown up in DA BRONX we are familiar with what the Belmont section has to offer. Although the neighborhood has changed ( and not for the Better) Roberto’s stands out as clearly the best restaurant in the area. We started with a grilled tomato stuffed with buratta which we shared. We then ordered 2 pasta entree and a side of Rabe which was excellent and expertly divided table side. Finally a couple of cappuccino and we each had the Roberto cannoli. We have dined at almost all the restaurants In little Italy Bronx and Roberto remains on top

Bamonte's is a classic Italian restaurant located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. This circa-1900 establishment offers traditional red-sauce Italian dishes in a retro setting. With its white tablecloths, mid-century decor, and servers in tuxedos, Bamonte's provides an old-school dining experience. The restaurant has been open for over a century and is known for its generous portions of Italian-American classics.
A very good Italian restaurant in Brooklyn. I sweat going to that borough from Long Island, as parking is rare. This restaurant offers their own parking lot with a valet for FREE! It was a graduation party, and the host, my friend, ordered a prefix meal with the choice of small individual plates. Awesome food, all around. Reservations recommended. If you sit at the bar, it's cash only, which was a bummer! All in all I liked the place a lot!
Shaker N — Google review
The restaurant is located in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. They prepare Italian cuisine. The historic restaurant was established in 1900 and is still family-owned. It was the location of several movies and television shows including the Sopranos and Blue Bloods. Famous people from movies, television, sports and politics have dined here. They have maintained an old fashioned and authentic traditional Italian restaurant. Soups, salads, appetizers, entrees, desserts, beverages and an extensive wine list are available. I ordered a special chicken entree with asparagus that was similar to rollatine. The beef bolognese was tasty. The chicken cacchitorre can be made boneless with a very good sauce. The fried calamari was made well with an accompanying sauce. Friendly and helpful staff.
Steven N — Google review
The atmosphere feels like stepping into a classic old school Italian spot, warm and inviting from the start. The baked clams come out chewy and flavorful, but the salty breading gets heavy after a few bites. The spaghetti and meatballs are decent but not memorable. The meat is lean to the point of being bland, and the pasta is dry rather than fresh, though still cooked well. The tiramisu shines as the best dish of the night, light and creamy with just enough espresso on the ladyfingers. Service moves between a little too pushy and genuinely friendly, which leaves a mixed impression. Overall, the place offers charm and a few highlights, but the food does not quite reach the same level.

Wow, what an amazing experience I had at Bamonte’s in Brooklyn. Authentic Italian dishes, an old world interior and a well dressed staff taking care of your food and drink requests. I strongly recommend this place for a night out. There is nothing I would change about this place. Thank you Bamonte’s for making my visit so special. I will be back.

Came from CT. The food portions were very small. The price was very big. The staff was great! Atmosphere was awesome. I will be in Brooklyn, and Manhattan looking for a better spot. I was very disappointed. The flavor was ok but there was no pasta with the dish, if I was a big eater, I would be going somewhere else, nothing to Bragg about.

PSA: DO NOT GO! Tl;dr - the food was mid and I was overcharged twice without my consent. First, the waiter recommended the most expensive item in the menu: mixed seafood platter. I took his suggestion and then the plate comes out and it's mostly linguine. It's basically some seafood but mostly pasta. Then, when the bill comes, we are charged 10% more than the menu. The Waiter says that he told me it is extra for linguine and I said yes.. when that conversation definitely did not happen. We are nice about it and just pay the additional costs (now I regret it). A few days later, I checked my credit card bill and the restaurant had the audacity to increase the tip and charge more on the bill than I signed for. THIS IS FRAUD. I'm pretty shocked and, after reading the reviews, it looks like I'm not the only one. I wonder how many customers are scammed by Belmonte's for overpriced and very subpar food.
Brandon P — Google review
The atmosphere here is amazing, that much is evident as soon as you walk in. We had to wait about 15 minutes for our table (we had a reservation) and there’s no where really to sit, so you just stand in a small area. It’s fine, as you do get to look around at the atmosphere, but there wasn’t a ton of communication regarding why we were waiting or for how long. The waiters are impeccably dressed and they are very friendly. But our waiter did keep trying to upsell our table which made us a little uncomfortable. We had to tell him we only wanted one order of something half a dozen times before he listened to us. Food is very good! A few of us get the special items. I had the scallop franchise and it was amazing. Anything in their red sauce was also delicious. It’s standard Italian fair but a bit more expensive & upscale. Portion size was good. Overall, good food & great vibes. It’s overpriced for what it is but it’s worth at least one visit for sure.

Classic Italian done right! The Chicken Francaise (with artichoke hearts that particular evening) was flavorful and tender, and the spaghetti and meatballs had that perfect old-school charm—comforting and satisfying. You can tell they stick to tradition in the best way. But the real star of the night? The tiramisu. Absolutely mouthwatering—light, creamy, and rich without being too heavy. One of the best I’ve had in a long time. If you're craving traditional Italian in a nostalgic, no-frills setting, Bamonte’s delivers.

Misi is a contemporary Italian restaurant located in South Williamsburg, known for its chic dining space and elevated antipasti and handmade pasta dishes. The restaurant's floor-to-ceiling windows offer a minimalist yet sophisticated ambiance, where diners can watch the chefs prepare fresh pasta. Celebrity chef Missy Robbins curates a menu that highlights simple yet exquisite pasta dishes, such as buttery corzetti with chanterelle mushrooms and gnocchi in pork sausage sugo.
Ordered the Ricotta bread with the peppers and pasta. For my surprise the best part of all the meal were the peppers(crazy right?) !! The flavor was intense and fully packed and went incredibly well with the ricotta. Pasta and pistachio ice cream were okey !

Finally tried this spot after wanting to go there for a year and it was great!! but did not make the list of my top spots in the city - I guess I had very high expectations. The ricotta toast was tasteful but felt heavy, on the other hand the trumpet mushrooms were very flavorful. Mezze rigatoni was cooked very well but honestly was a bit underwhelming since it just came with cheese and basil, but still yummy. I absolutely loved the spinach and mascarpone tortelli. Olive oil gelato was okay, glad I tried it but wouldn’t get it again. The olive oil taste was bit too intense

By far my favorite pasta restaurant in NY! I spent 2 weeks eating pasta in Italy, I haven't found a place that would match this quality. Reservation is not easy, but not impossible as well, specifically if you book in advance. Pastas and appetizers are really good. I highly recommend the leaks, artichokes and the ricotta crostinis... In terms of pasta, the spinach tortelli and the linguine are definitely my favorites. But all of them are amazing, some are just more unique.

Snagged last minute reservations here and really enjoyed having the counter seats right next to the kitchen. Food is very good. The toast is delicious but they’re good for 3-4 pax. Pastas do take a significantly long time to arrive so plan accordingly. Sheep’s milk ricotta stuffed pasta is divine. Nduja bucatini was decent but pales in comparison. Gelato finish is necessary - olive oil flavor hits the spot.

The best Italian restaurant I've ever been to, especially considering that I'm not a big fan of pasta, is Misi. Their freshly made pasta is absolutely delicious. My favorites included the whipped ricotta toast and the gnocchi with pork sausage. I must say, the pistachio gelato was the best I've ever tasted in my life! The olive oil gelato was equally impressive, a bold flavor that was great. The staff were very friendly, and I look forward to visiting again!

The pasta dishes were satisfying and well made. The presentation and service were excellent. However, something felt missing. We had expected rockstar Italian food, but it was something a bit short of that

A place you’ll always want to come back to. The pasta was perfectly al dente, with incredible variety and clearly top-quality ingredients. Super stylish vibe — ideal for a Friday night out. We went with friends and shared everything, which made the experience even better. My absolute favorite was the spinach tortellini — out of this world. If I could make one small suggestion, it would be to bring bread to the table without having to ask. Dipping into those amazing sauces with warm bread is essential. All in all, an unforgettable experience. Can’t wait to return!
Lourdes R — Google review
The food was absolutely perfect – if I rated only the dishes, it would be 5 stars. However, the service made me feel uncomfortable. I and my boyfriend visited there around 8:45pm on 2nd Sep and we sat at the kitchen bar. One of the bussers (a short woman with blonde straight hair, not our server) set our table in a way that felt careless. <<She placed the spoon upside down with the handle facing away from us, which I didn’t see at any other table.>> (not forks and knives, only spoon) The dishes and forks were also put down quite roughly. I even asked other staff and our server why the spoon was placed that way. I wonder If there is any reason that I don't know about for the culture or something but no one could explain the reason. They said they dont know why she did that. I didn't even want to touch the spoon. The lack of attention and the strange setup left me feeling disrespected. Please let me know I lf I misunderstood. Again, the food was amazing, but service matters too – and this experience really affected how I feel about coming back.

Romans is a vintage-chic neighborhood spot in Brooklyn that offers New American small plates made with locally sourced ingredients. Although their menu is not strictly traditional Italian, the restaurant emphasizes Italian influence and a commitment to local producers and sustainability. As part of a renowned Brooklyn restaurant group, Romans focuses on seasonal dishes, with menus changing daily to showcase farm-fresh fare. The restaurant's outdoor tables provide a charming setting to enjoy the Fort Greene scene.
Great food and service. Not your normal Italian restaurant. More like mommy's with a professional touch. Chairs could be softer.

If I could rate as a zero I would. I complained about one dish (while complimenting others) and they gaslighted me, saying that others loved the dish and they really didn’t understand why I didn’t like it. The manager then claimed that I said “I was happy to eat it…” and that’s why they didn’t take it off the bill. Overall, the servers created an extremely unpleasant evening by arguing with me and saying that I said things I did not say.
Lily A — Google review
It was such a treat to dine at Roman's in mid-October. I came on a rainy night, and the soft glow inside was inviting and warm. All of the food was delightful to the senses and DELICIOUS. It would be hard to pick a favorite thing from the menu, since it was all so good (and since their menu updates all the time), but my table couldn't stop eating the Fava Bean Puree. All hail Chef Hannah and her team! Not for nothing, it's also really nice to support an establishment that's committed to making the industry more sustainable for all who work in it. Thank you so much for a wonderful special occasion dinner--I hope to return!

The food was fine, but uneven. Some of the swordfish in the pasta was dry, some was good. The tomato salad was okay, it didn't do much with the tomato. The black bass was really good, tender and crispy outside, and the dressing really lifted the flavors. I felt the waitress was rushing me. She stood by the table while I was taking the last portion of the salad, and she took the plates twice literally while I was eating. The place looked nice, but it was extremely loud. Even though loud is the sad trend in NYC now, the noise level here was off the charts and for that reason alone I can't recommend it, but adding the bad service, I really don't want to be back.

Got a res & sat at the bar for two on a Saturday. Not loud, enough space to not feel cramped, great space. Ordered the flank steak and scallop entrees, and olives as the starter. I cannot make this up, the scallop dish was one of the best dishes I’ve had in NYC. The sweetness of the scallop, matching with the salty-citrus broth it came with… WOW! Bring it back! Cabbage, mushrooms, and sweet potato was great too. Very, VERY happy about this dish. Flank steak was also very good, the steak was cooked perfectly, and the chimichurri sauce was very good. It was accompanied by a flavorful & elevated rice and beans. Didn’t wow me, but you can taste the quality and flavor. Drinks great, and the warmed olives are yummy.

The food was very nice and the atmosphere is cozy. Our waitress was really attentive as well. Only negative point is that the dessert menu was a bit one sided. But I guess that changes since the menu had the date on it too.

LOVE. Couldn’t decide so we did all three of the pastas, and the 3 ppl at the table all found a different favorite. Every pasta dish was amazing and their drinks were interesting + refreshing. I personally didn’t love the tomato-y martini drink but it was still nice to sip. Between food/drinks (1-2 rounds) we spent $100/pp

The new Italian restaurant Ci Siamo, which translates to "here are", has a sleek interior and is meant to evoke the feeling of dining in someone's home. The menu includes wood-fired whole trout cooked by chef Hillary Sterling, who has experience running acclaimed restaurants.
The Onion Tart is a MUST GET! It’s a like a savory french onion soup pie: cheesy, sweet from the caramelized onions and has a buttery flaky crust. Their cocktails and DESSERTS were also phenomenal. We got the basque cheesecake that was incredibly creamy and smooth and was served with dried apricots and this crunchy crumble. The perfect mixture of fruity sweet flavors and interesting textures. We also got their gem salad (light, refreshing) and their pork milanese (though we must come back to try their pastas!).

We initially made a reservation for 4 but the hostess was super accommodating and let us add another person last minute, which I greatly appreciated. The seating arrangement was just a 4 person table with 3 people on one side instead of 2, but nothing wrong with that and we were very happy our additional friend could join. The problem starts when I discover a large piece of plastic buried in the middle of my braised lamb entree after eating a couple of bites. The piece was the size of half a business card and I was so shocked that I didn't even think to take a picture and flagged our waitress immediately. She immediately took my entree and replaced it with another one, but the situation kind of ruined the mood of the whole table. A man in a suit, who I believe was the manager of the restaurant named Vinny, briefly came over to say sorry but it came off as insincere and he never checked on us again. I also want to make clear that the entree was not comped nor did we receive any compensation for this unsanitary situation. Furthermore, we were celebrating two birthdays on the actual day and I noted that in my reservation. The table next to us was also celebrating some occasion and they got a candle with their dessert, but no one wished my friends happy birthday nor did we receive any special gesture like they did, which was also disappointing. Lastly, I do want to acknowledge that the food was delicious and met my expectations going in after hearing this is Ophra's favorite restaurant. The whole party enjoyed the appetizers (onion torta and focaccia) and their own entrees. Flavors are wonderful here, just wish the service was on par with how beautiful of a restaurant it is.

We visited Ci siamo a few days ago and really enjoyed it! The place itself is beautiful and has a great atmosphere. The food was delicious and very interesting, everything we tried was full of flavor. The only downside is that the main dishes took a bit longer to arrive, so if you’re in a rush, keep that in mind. Otherwise, it’s a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a great meal. We’ll definitely be back

Such a great meal, and perhaps the best Negroni I’ve ever had in my many years and many bar of having Negronis. The bartender was even nice enough to deconstruct the whole thing so I could understand the unique flavor they created. Everything was also delicious except the wood fire trout that was so so. All the apps, and the focaccia was delicious tho!

Visiting from San Francisco & needed a great dining experience to celebrate my sister’s birthday. The reviews seemed good, so we came here! Note that you will need to take the stairs or elevator in order to get to the restaurant. Once we arrived, we were seated immediately & the host left a postcard with a sweet “Happy Birthday” message on the table for my sister - it was a very nice addition. Our waiter was great & mostly timely with taking orders. I will say, the vibe is immaculate - loud, energetic & fun. If you prefer a quiet environment, this is not the spot. Coming from SF, we were shocked at how decent the portions were for the prices. We’re used to paying big for skimpy meals and this spot did NOT disappoint. The focaccia was heavenly, the seafood fresh, the pasta delectable, and the braised lamb delightful. We ended the night with a tasty dessert, candle included! We truly enjoyed our time at Ci Siamo.
Michaela O — Google review
Fantastic Italian restaurant in Hudson Yards. Ci Siamo is all parts Italian, with a modern unique spin. The wine list, too, is unique and full of interesting hidden gems. And when in doubt if you’re not sure, they have a Somm on hand who is super helpful. For the food, we cannot recommend the caramelized onion torta enough. It’s gooey, savory and sweet all in one. The focaccia is light and airy with a side of tomato conserva (like a tomato paste), and great for dipping in the sauces of other dishes. Gnocco fritto with ghost cheese are large crispy pillows - not much to them and can be skipped for better options. The summer beans were blistered green beans in this amazing sauce. Yes, they’re a side. Yes, get them. Same goes for the smoked carrots. I don’t like cooked carrots and these were to die for. For pastas, the rigatoni alla gricia is AMAZING - the guanciale is perfectly crispy, and perfectly cuts through the cacio e pepe like sauce. If you want to go more decadent, the stracci (think wide like lasagna but thin and flat) with rabbit and Parmesan is *chef’s kiss*. The grilled ribeye was interesting to be covered in marinated peppers but brought a good flavor. It was rough to leave so much of the dish beyond that was just pure fat. All in all would come back and try the other many dishes and throw some cocktails into the mix.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the general consensus here. The food served in this restaurant is excruciatingly salty, dehydration level of salty, especially on the steak which was such a shame. The cooking was perfect, but the salt made it almost inedible. We also ordered what was supposed to be some sort of pappardelle with a rabbit ragout, but the pasta was so overcooked it would break on the fork, there was no trace of the rabbit (literally 3 little chunks of meat), it was drowned in cream and just like the steak, absolutely too salty. The focaccia on the other side was really delicious, cooked perfectly and SEASONED perfectly. Another thing that truly annoyed me is the insane gauging on the wines. I’m from Abruzzo and I grew up surrounded by wine, these guys will charge you $150 for a bottle than you can purchase for 40 bucks even in Manhattan. Beautiful location and good service, but I highly doubt I’ll be going back and I’m certainly not recommending this to anyone. Absolutely TOO EXPENSIVE for the quality of food they’re serving. And ignoring the reviews is not going to do you any good. HOLD BACK THE DAMN SALT!

Scarpetta is a chic Italian eatery that has become synonymous with exquisite handmade pasta and an inviting atmosphere. Renowned for its sophisticated menu, Scarpetta excels in various dishes, but none quite compare to their signature tomato basil spaghetti. This dish features perfectly crafted pasta enveloped in a rich sauce made from fresh tomatoes and fragrant basil, all enhanced by a touch of butter and topped with Grana Padano cheese.
I was lucky to attend a private event downstairs, so I enjoyed an amazing platter of cheese and meats and nibbles prior to our family style meal. The spaghetti was indeed legendary- Perfect- Al dente- sauce was both mild and hearty. It might be simple but it stood out. Peach Bellini was a beautiful + light dessert We enjoyed the broccolini a lot. We also tried the yellowtail, halibut, ravioli, and braised short rib. These were all good! But the above was exceptional.

All the staff were very helpful and friendly, and the food was amazing. Probably the best pasta I’ve ever tasted. If we return to New York, we’ll definitely be coming back to this special restaurant. Thank you for all that you did for us.

An unforgettable dining experience at Scarpetta! Scarpetta is one of those rare places where everything from the ambiance to the service to the cuisine aligns perfectly to create a truly memorable experience. The moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by an atmosphere that feels both elegant and effortlessly warm. The space is stunning, but what really makes Scarpetta exceptional is the beautiful team that brings it to life. Every member of the staff embodies genuine hospitality professional yet personal, refined yet relaxed. You can feel how much pride and passion they put into every detail. From the thoughtful wine recommendations to the perfect pacing of each course, the team makes you feel like a valued guest rather than just a table on the floor. And the food simply phenomenal. Every dish bursts with flavor, balance, and creativity. The famous spaghetti is every bit as iconic as its reputation suggests pure perfection in its simplicity. But beyond that, every plate tells a story of craftsmanship and love for Italian cuisine. Scarpetta isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience shaped by a team that truly cares. Their harmony, grace, and attention to detail make dining here something you’ll remember long after the last bite. ✨ Bravo to the entire Scarpetta team — you’ve created something truly special!

Made a reservation for an anniversary and it was very nice. Food was delicious, perfect portions, and served in a timely manor. Our waiter was one of the best in any restaurant. Very kind and welcoming as well as enthusiastic. The dessert came with a message because of our anniversary and it was very pleasant overall. Lighting and the decor was very cozy too. All of that said food was a tad too expensive for portion size and because there were so many people it was slightly difficulty to hear another person in a conversation.

Vibey italian spot with quite the extensive menu! Our server was patient, informative and charismatic. The food was incredible, and the portions were perfect to try everything without getting too stuffed. We loved the yellowtail crudo, scallops, octopus, spaghetti & Dover sole

Osteria Morini offers a warm setting and serves Emilia-Romagna cuisine along with cocktails and an extensive Italian wine list. The restaurant is known for its unique ravioli, featuring two distinct packets of egg pasta fused together to hold rabbit meat on one side and squacquerone cheese on the other.
Came here with some friends to try and catch the Industry Pasta night, which they still have on Wednesdays from 4-6pm. Sadly, we didn't get to enjoy the discount since our waiter didn't know about the promotion and misinformed us that it had ended. Make sure you ask your waiter to double check with the manager if they refuse to honor the promotion. The pasta dishes were $27 each. However, they do make all their pastas fresh, in house, so I think it's worth the price! We opted to sit outside since it was a nice day but honestly, I think sitting inside is a much better choice because the AC is strong, and the interior looks very classy and elegant. Perfect for a romantic date night, especially given the dim lighting. We ordered calamari for the table and it was so crispy and delicious! Portion size was fair and since it was happy hour, it was $12 instead of $17. Our waiters were very attentive and kept popping in to see if we needed anything. We took our time with the calamari since we were chatting, but our pastas were still served warm. I ordered the Cappelletti, a dish with cute little truffle cheese ravioli sitting in a butter sauce with prosciutto. I wish there was more prosciutto and it hadn't been cooked, but that's a minor detail. The ravioli were so soft and a dream to eat. The atmosphere and food here make for a great dinner. Their menu also has pizzas, meat dishes, and cheese plates which I will surely be back to try.

The location is good, and the menu looks decent, so we decided to step in for lunch. Unfortunately, all three different meals we ordered were really bland! It is surprising, as pasta in general is not a difficult dish to make, at least to make it average level. The pricing is pricey, but that comes with the location, I guess. Not sure what the problem is here - perhaps too much is pre-prepared? Nevertheless, it is definitely not a place I'd return to. Absolutely no complaints about the staff, who is friendly and attentive.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Visited Osteria Moroni in SoHo, drawn by its fusion Italian menu. The food we ordered was decent - it hit the 'okay' mark but didn't quite dazzle the taste buds. However, the high price tag, especially for the wine and drinks, felt a bit steep. Considering the location, some premium is expected, but just a few blocks away, there are spots offering more authentic and value-packed Italian experiences. A fair choice if you're nearby, but there's more to explore in the area for Italian cuisine enthusiasts. 🍝🍷📍

The food was very good. We had a board of meats and cheeses cut on the spot. The paste was fresh and yummy and the same for the meatballs. The service was not so friendly or nice. And the vibe is ok but don't go in for that.

Really delicious food! all of it was completely made from scratch. this really makes a different for pasta! the atmosphere is so nice and intimate! the service started out really amazing but as they got busier our waitress sort of forgot about us which was frustrating because we had somewhere else to be. we even had to ask a different waitress for our check. other than that we enjoyed our time! she even put a candle in the dessert for a birthday!

Came here for the half off pasta Monday deal and it was great! I love the fusilli we got! The texture of the noodles were just right and the sauce was very flavorful. We also got the squid ink one which was good too but not as good as the fusilli. Would definitely recommend coming here Mondays the deal was great!

Rustic, traditional Italian fare in a rustic, traditional Italian setting. No surprises here, so if you’re looking for cozy comfort food that’s delicious and more refined than that food served in similar settlings, Osteria Morini is a great option! We had dinner at the bar, ordered fried artichokes, meatballs and two pastas to share. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The pastas were made perfectly with adequate firmness and with just the right amount of sauce. The meatballs and pastas were all served with red sauce, however, each were distinctive and offered their own depth and range of flavors. Would highly recommend.

Our dinner soooo good I’m so happy we went for my birthday. Our server Brahim was attentive and very friendly. We had a meat and cheese board as an appetizer which was 10/10. The parmesan Reggiano and goat milk blue cheese were so good and the meat we chose was very fresh. I had the cappelletti pasta entree which was over the top amazing, never had anything like it, and it came out super hot! My fiancé had the veal, amazing as well and a great portion. I can’t wait to go back here.

Barano is a wood-fired Italian restaurant in South Williamsburg. The restaurant uses open-fire grills and wood-burning ovens, giving the dishes a unique spin on classic Italian dishes. The pasta is worth ordering, and the cocktails are delightful.
An amazing time here, food was excellent, we had a pizza with pesto, vodka and marinara, really good, sourdough makes the difference and cooked perfectly, the meatballs were a great appetizer as well, sauce was perfect and honestly the meatballs were seasoned nicely and not dry. Shared the arugula salad and asked to have in a ceaser style dressing that was really good, good portion to share with 2 people and then there was the sourdough garlic bread with burratta on top...wow..amazingly delicious. Cooked perfectly the garlic, pesto and taste of the bread was super on point, I really can't wait to go back but if your in the neighborhood and want to eat good Barano is a perfect spot. I can't end it without saying the service was great as well. Everyone is attentive and helpful, it made the meal that much more pleasurable.

Food 8/10 A homey and traditional Italian spot located south of Williamsburg. I thought the appetizers were better than the main, and the tiramisu was stellar too - dare I say even the star of the show. The prosciutto was nice to start with, and I quite enjoyed the chewiness of the focaccia. The saffron pasta was quite interesting, although a little too watery for my preference. Atmosphere 8/10 Soft and dim lighting, a relatively large interior, and plenty of great conversations. Dark wooden surfaces, elegant and nothing too fussy. Service 8/10 Our host gave us great thoughts on the different cocktails, very friendly and solid experience overall.

We have come here a couple times and have had nothing sort of an excellent experience every time! They have all sorts of great deals from their $15 Pasta Tuesdays to their happy hour every day until 630, but even their regular menu is very well priced and full of flavor in every section! We got their eight dollar martinis which are available all of July and our expertly made and we got this amazing corn and pancetta stuffed pasta. Even if you don’t like pancetta or a very smoky flavor, it’s very mild and you should absolutely get it as the corn is in peak season and really fresh. The chicken Parm we got with vodka sauce with gigantic, and we only finished half of it and it came with a side of incredible homemade pasta. This might be the most underrated Italian restaurant in the city!

10/10 food, service, and atmosphere. We came here for our anniversary and it was truly a magical experience. Our servers were super kind and attentive. The music and ambiance were perfect. And the FOOD? Phewww on another level. Our favorites were Nonna’s Rainbow Pie, the meatballs, and of course the rainbow cookie sundae. This is the perfect spot for a date night and some of the best Italian food we’ve had in Brooklyn.

I have been casually visiting Barano Restaurant approximately 5 to 10 times over 4 years, as a long-term resident of this neighborhood. I often grab dinner or brunch at a restaurant or sometimes order additional dishes to take out. During my most recent visit on October 10, 2025, I ordered the Lobster Spaghetti Chitarra, Bianca Pizza, Chicken Milanese, and Mint Tea. Imagery Index: • 1–4: In-store dinner experience. • 5–6: Takeout brunch, oven-warmed. • 7–9: My utensils and table setup. Ella, other attendants, and chefs provided outstanding service, ensuring every aspect of the evening was handled with professionalism, genuine care, and equal responsiveness to my requests. Karin managed the billing process efficiently and courteously.

I have mixed feelings about this place. While they specialize in wine and offer only six cocktails on the menu, the food was a bit of a rollercoaster. Here's what I tried: - Warm Mozzarella: Excellent! Fresh, creamy, and perfectly paired with cherry tomatoes and pizza bianca. - Grilled Prawns: Just okay. The prawns were decent, but the accompanying cannellini beans didn't complement the dish well. I'd probably skip it. - Margherita Pizza: Unfortunately, a big letdown. The crust tasted like cardboard, and overall, it was highly disappointing. - Saffron Gigli: An absolute standout! Easily one of the best pastas I've ever had. The flavors were well-balanced, with a light spicy kick and a hint of sweetness. Truly delicious and worth coming back for. If I return, it'll definitely be for the pasta. The other dishes didn't quite hit the mark for me.

Lil' Frankie's is a beloved old-school Italian joint known for its wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas and handmade pastas cooked to order. The restaurant exudes an old-school Italian vibe with rustic chandeliers, family photos, and framed soccer jerseys adorning the walls. It is one of four restaurants owned by renowned chef Frank Prisinzano and offers authentic Naples wood-fired pizza along with classic Italian dishes.
I've been here twice now, this place is great! Lil' Frankie's has a wonderful vibe, even late into the night! I was there at around 12am on a Monday night and the restaurant was still quite lively. Just a heads up, this place is cash only, so do keep that in mind before visiting. The food is wonderful! This time around I got their Handmade Tagliatelle with Bolognese sauce. I believe it was a special on the menu (not sure if it's limited time). Although a bit pricey, it was really delicious! The pasta had that wonderfully soft signature chewiness to it that is so characteristic of fresh made pasta. Each mouthful of pasta was deeply coated in the flavorful bolognese sauce. Rich and meaty with tender chunks of ground beef and an undertone of acidity and sweetness from the tomatoes, the sauce was exactly what I have dreams about! The Parmesan and parsley on top of the dish was also a nice touch. Not to mention the large portion size! All in all, it was a an amazing dish. The olive oil that came with the bread was also really flavorful, although I do wish the bread was a bit warmer. The last time I went here I remember getting the Spaghetti Limone and the Tiramisu and being pleased with those two as well, so I would totally recommend this place! It's a great late night spot if you're in the area!

Lots of negatives but lets focus first on the positives. Open late. Fun atmosphere. Interesting crowd. The pizza looks like it could be good as does the chicken parm... but I didn't order these. I would order the Chicken Parm if I were to do it all over again. Why didn't I this time? Well, this dish is so much better with veal, I figured I would be disappointed and they don't offer it with veal. Quite frankly one measure I use for a good Italian spot so fail number one. Unfortunately if you didn't want pizza the menu was challenging -as in to find something interesting- and the server staff not helpful at all. I ended up getting the spaghetti with garlic and oil; and it was extremely disappointing. I personally could have cooked the same dish a 100x better easily. Basically tasted almost like plain noodles. In other words you get very close just by boiling noodles in water. At $21/22 dollars before tax it was just a ripoff. Easily the worst Italian dish I've had in as long as I can remember...years and years. Making it worse this place was cash only, just making the bad food inconvenient as well. Nothing here to make me ever go back. Given that other people have rated it higher, I guess I just ordered poorly....

Wonderful service, warm greeting by the hostess, courteous wait staff; server was super friendly; extremely fast delivery of food and beverages once ordered! Had reservations for 11:15P on the Saturday before Halloween, but arrived a few hours earlier at 8:15; and there was either bar seating or outdoor seating. We opted for the patio seating versus the sidewalk seating, y’all be careful because to get to the covered patio, you gotta cross the bike lane, and these uber delivery drivers / citibikers are pedaling fast! Our table also had a wobble, but the staff were pretty attentive and fixed the wobbly table. Got the margherita pizza, which had a nice fluffy crust, nice char and lovely cheese and sauce ratio/flavor. Wonderful time, reservations highly recommended. Want to come back to try other entrees and pizzas.

Cute brunch spot, cash only. We come here pretty often, but I have only visited for brunch. Loved the French toast - it's very cinnamony. Lemon spaghetti is always our go to. I love the 3 for 1 cocktail during brunch! Attentive server and great food. Back room is super pretty with sunlight.

Late night best - Little Frankie’s is exactly what it sets out to be—gritty, no-nonsense, old-school Italian that nails the essentials. The homemade pasta special of the day (ours was a tagliatelle Bolognese) was a standout—saucy, savory, and clearly made with care. Same goes for the pizza: thin, crisp crust with a char that tells you someone back there knows what they’re doing. This isn’t fine dining and it doesn’t pretend to be—thankfully. It’s cozy, loud, slightly chaotic, and full of charm. The chicken Parm is textbook in the best way: crispy breading, gooey cheese, rich sauce. Service was fast and unfussy. It’s the kind of place that feels like it’s been holding it down for decades because it has. If you want polished and pretentious, go elsewhere. If you want legit red-sauce comfort and a room with character, Little Frankie’s delivers.

This place never disappoints! I make it a point to come here at least once or twice a year. My most recent visit was great. One downfall is that this place is cash only. There is an ATM tucked away by the bathroom so you can take cash out for a $2.75 fee. The garlic bread was delicious. The pizza was great because my son talks about it all the time. I ordered the penny pasta and it was covered in ricotta cheese. So mouthwatering. My fiancé got the gnocchi and he said it was the best gnocchi he's ever had. The drinks were good. The dish with fresh mozzarella balls were so delicious! We didn't have a chance to indulge in desserts because my son was tired and cranky. But I'll be back for sure. I can't wait to return!

Babbo is a popular Italian restaurant in the West Village known for its high-end Italian cuisine. The restaurant, owned by Joe Bastianich's hospitality group and helmed by Mario Batali, offers classic Italian dishes with a refined touch. It is renowned for its pasta dishes such as linguine with clams and hot chiles, black spaghetti with fennel, jalapenos, and bottarga, and pillowy potato gnocchi with oxtail ragu.
Exactly what we hoped to experience! We are huge fans of Joe and have been following him for a while. We couldn’t wait to get to NY to experience his risotto and raviolo. The service and atmosphere were spot on. The coat check and attentive staff were a nice touch. The music was lively and we really enjoyed our meal.

In love with everything here! Joseph was a great server, recommend great dishes. I'd try everything if I could. Fresh pasta and really top tier olive cake dessert. I’ve lost count of how many meals I enjoyed at the original Babbo, and the reboot not only lives up to its legendary reputation but manages to surpass it. Every dish was perfectly executed: the escarole salad, sweetbreads, lobster busiate, rabbit ragu cavatelli—it will be difficult not to repeat this order when I return, much as the rest of the menu is equally tempting. The cocktails were equally delicious (espresso and tomato martinis—and to clarify, these are two different drinks). The redesign is elegant but not stuffy, intimate yet lively. Service was seamless, attentive, and warm, which tends to be rare during opening week. A special thanks to Jimmy, Radu, and the delightful hostess (whose name I regret not getting). It was an absolute pleasure meeting you all—truly class acts. Long story short, Babbo 2.0 is phenomenal. Run, don’t walk.

This was one of the best places we’ve been to in a very long time. Service is an art and at Babbo, it is masterful. This was equally matched with beautiful presentation, quality and delicious menu items (ingredients, seasonings). It is an enjoyable and calming atmosphere. BABBO IS FINALLY BACK now that it’s under new ownership. We are long, long, long time patrons of Babbo and we finally just gave up on them with the constant personality changes to the menu and the vibe…IYKYK. There are some great, what I’ll call, Babbo heritage dishes on the new menu…osso buco, mint love letters, sweetbreads, the 100 layer lasagna which is actually carryover from Del Posto …all slightly reinvented. The desert list is all new and bragging rights on the blueberry blue cheese budino. It’s a beautiful palate cleanser and much lighter than it sounds. And the wine cellar seems to have stayed which is a win win. There are still a few coravin selections but hope this list expands. The vibe is what it used to be in the best way and what I’m sure the other OGs like us missed. There is still great music, tonight a lot of Fleetwood Mac, thank you. Improved is the service not that I’m complaining about the previous iteration but it’s pretty nice to have your chair pulled out for you which seems like an all but forgotten courtesy. Thrilled with what the new team has done…BRAVO.

We were so sad when it closed down and we are so happy now that it has reopened. What a fantastic staff. Dimitrios, Paul, and Tizzie are the absolute greatest. So is everyone else there for that matter. The recipes have changed a little, but they’re still great. And they have options that are hard to find in other restaurants like the lambs toungue, vitello tonatto, and sweetbreads. Osso buco is excellent. You just basically can’t go wrong. Definitely get a reservation. They open at five. You can even bring your dog.

Why? You had a great buzz, fantastic food and staff and now this?? It's a diluted version of what was. So sad. We hope you bring back the character and the characters that made this place so rich. Il Buco is a charming Italian restaurant located in NoHo, just off the cobblestones of Bond Street. It started as an antique shop in 1994 before transforming into a rustic-chic dining space offering carefully sourced Mediterranean dishes. The menu features seasonal plates like Ricotta with roasted eggplant and Pulpo with seared octopus, complemented by adventurous wine pairings suggested by the sommelier.
Excellent experience, delicious food. The halibut and flourless chocolate cake were perfectly executed. Special thanks to Patrick, who went above and beyond to make my dining experience enjoyable and memorable - very professional, welcoming, and gave great recommendations. Thank you Patrick!! 5 stars, will definitely come back

4.5 🌟Cozy dimly lit restaurant with dark wood features; we sat in the back near the kitchen which ended up being nice since it was away from most of the restaurant chatter. Highlights were the stracciatella, cavoletti (Brussel sprout salad with a nice vinegar dressing), cavolonero (perfectly dressed kale salad), skirt steak (the purple potatoes were also sweet and delicious), and the ricotta cheesecake was nice and light. Their take on the martini was also great, not what you normally associate a martini with, highly recommend.

Surprisingly underwhelming. We ordered the salumi and pane, as well as the burrata. They were all a bit stale and frankly the pasta with peas was just buttered pasta. Not really worth the value of the plates but the service was excellent and the atmosphere is cute and quaint. Wouldn’t recommend but everyone is different:)

Good food and nice service! Food was delicious, but the cooking was unfortunately not even. Many of us eat a steak and some got well done when they ordered medium rare. I was lucky to get a perfectly cooked steak and it was fantastic. Otherwise I can really recommend this place.

We have not been here in over a decade. We usually go to Il Buco Alimentari around the corner. It was a good spot for a 92 year old's birthday. She was happy. It did get a bit loud but we could still hear each other The breads are amazing. The waitress was lovely and gracious. Lovely olive oils. It's worth buying some from their store around the corner. I loved sitting next to the fresh vegetables! The food was fine. Compared to many of the places I've eaten in lately it wasn't dazzling, but it hit the spot. I think I like their other place better. I don't know if it's the same chef.

Hands down my new favorite restaurant in nyc. Price is super fair for what you are getting. Beyond the wonderful service and lovely atmosphere, you are getting fresh high quality ingredients. I am rarely impressed anymore when I eat in Manhattan because I feel like the ingredients don’t seem fresh, that is not the case with Il Buco. The kale Caesar salad is iconic for a reason, super flavorful and the vegetables are so tasty. To drink I had a strawberry spritz which was fabulous. We had the lasagnette and the spaghetti with lobster. Both pasta dishes were PERFECT. Each dish has deliberately crafted ingredients that come together in such a nice way. Then, we had steak and a baby chicken with stone fruit. The steak was cooked to perfection and the chicken was delicious. One again, the vegetables also really shine in all of these dishes because of the freshness. We finished with some cheesecake, chocolate cake and some complementary sorbet (it was my birthday). Our server was lovely, and it was a perfect meal. With an ever changing menu, I can’t wait to come back to try again. Probably the best meal I’ve had in years.

Amazing and delicious. Great service and very kind staff. The dishes although strange to me at first were surprisingly delicious and perfect size. I tried the beef tartar, mini bacon wraps, mini sandwiches, steak and a pasta. Also tried their cake which I do not recommend as it was not tasty at all. Very dry, lacked any semblance of a cake except for the shape. I would describe it more so as an oily bread. Otherwise the main dishes were all super flavorful and yummy and I will definitely be back for those.

Del Posto, a luxurious Italian restaurant by Joseph & Lidia Bastianich, offers an intimidatingly elegant ambiance with black, red, and gold decor and a candle-lit marble staircase. The menu features updated Italian classics with all pastas made in-house except for the linguine sourced from specialty importer Marcelli Formaggi. The dish is elevated with poached langoustines, garlic, lemon, and pepperoncino-infused oil for a complex taste.
I visited for lunch. Impeccable service and delicious food; certainly worth the price. The pastas are amazing and their bread with cultured cream was simply heavenly. The space is elegant and wonderful for dates and meetings. The meal is extremely filling, especially with the pasta course added. This restaurant is a must-visit.

Came here to celebrate a birthday. We opted for the Captain’s Menu - 8 course tasting menu. You will be SO full by the end. Service is very attentive. They make sure your glass is full and there is very good timing between the courses. We had 4 servers who consistently took care of us and each dish was explained. They answered any questions we had and even made suggestions. My favorite dish was the black truffle pasta dish (which included a $20 supp per person). It was just delicious. You also get a couple small tasty finger foods to start and the dessert was over the top. We got about 5 different bite sized desserts. I was done. The lighting was good and comfortable. But made it difficult to take pictures. Overall, I had an excellent meal. Although not necessarily a place I would say I need to come back to.

When you walk in the inside of this restaurant is beautiful. They have a coat check after first doors then you walk through to the main entry. The service from when you enter to when you leave is the best. If you want to get a drink at the bar before dinner it has a great area and recommend that since there isn’t much besides Chelsea market in the area. Outside of the set menu they bring out a little treat to start the meal and bread/butter. The butter looks like cheese and almost tastes like it so much that someone at our table ate the whole thing! Ha. Food is great, but smaller portions. If you are looking for not only good food, but very upscale and fancy meal this is the place. Dress code is business with jacket recommended, but I just came in slacks and a button up. Great experience and service!

Impeccable service and every dish was nothing but excellent. We came in for the special lunch menu which is by far one of the best value for money options in the city. Alongside the menu 3 course flow, we received a bundle of mouth watering treats - all ended in a 3 hour culinary journey. All that, plus a couple of extra dishes and cocktails ended in ~$110 per person - not cheap, but very worth it.

A really nice environment with beautiful atmosphere good for business meetings and probably a date. Friendly staff. Now let's talk food, I had the 8 course meal for around $209, the server will ask you couple questions to customize the menu to your liking, the food was great, but for the reputation and the big names behind this restaurant the food wasn't that exciting, out of the 8 dishes only one that was memorable and that's the pork Agnolotti, other than that I don't think I would revisit any of the other dishes. The wine was nice, not much of a variety on the menu but enough to satisfy the diners, I personally didn't like the wine and I tried 3 different once, I was drinking white wine and tried two different once and had to switch to rose which I liked better, it was too acidic but better than the other options, it was a $18 market priced bottle which is a bit odd for a restaurant of this tear. 8 course menu with 3 glasses of wine $340, I can't really say that it was worth it. In conclusion, nice restaurant, good staff, good environment, solid food that lacks excitement, so it's one of those places that you visit and say "that was alright" and probably never think about going back again.

According to my mother in law: "This just wasn't that good for Christmas eve." I don't know about the guide Michelin or the NYT, but that is THE HIGHEST COMPLIMENT I have ever heard. All joking aside, an absolutely lovely meal. Service was just top notch.

Del Posto ** Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ** ** Food: ** ** They start you off with Kosher cream which is very delicious and very light. Bread is homemade in house which has a light crisp and fluffy inside! ** ** I ordered the 28-day aged rib eye which is excellent as well, but I would add more crisp sides and also a tad bit of sauce to this dish. Next, I had the pasta dish with the mussels-in it which was amazing and the perfect amount of creamy sauce in it. Lastly, I had another pasta dish which was excellent! Best meal I’ve had in a while. ** ** Dessert: ** ** Their dessert was amazing and can’t go wrong. ** ** Cocktails: ** Dauphine: Excellent- crisp and smooth ** ** Overall, their bartenders are extremely friendly and know how to make an excellent drink. ** ** Atmosphere: Atmosphere is very classy, romantic and calm. I must say, it is very well decorated and if you want to impress a date, this place will do. ** ** Music: classical music which you would hear in a luxurious hotel elevator. The thing I like most is that there is an individual playing the piano. ** ** Customer Service: As you walk in, they greet you from opening the door for you all the way to the front hostess. They are charming and welcoming with a big smile. ** ** Michelin Guide: Yes | 1 star

Favourite Italian in the city. Had the set lunch menu and it was amazing. The service was great and the food was outstanding. Wine went great with the meal, started off with the pink champagne, well worth it. Added the pasta course and had the orecchiette with lamb, was amazing.

Malatesta Trattoria is a cozy Italian restaurant located in the West Village, offering a charming and casual dining experience. The warm wood interiors and terrace dining create a convivial atmosphere perfect for enjoying homemade pastas, piadine, and simple antipasti inspired by Emilia-Romagna. This cash-only spot is known for its fair prices and bustling ambiance, making reservations recommended.
This was our second time visiting Malatesta and it is still exceptional! Food is gourmet and delicious, service is friendly and attentive, and prices are reasonable. Our first time here was in 2021 - we spontaneously chose it for dinner as we were visiting the west village and got hungry while exploring. We had such a memorable experience that we made it a priority to come again in 2025 with our whole family. Same quality and service! We showed up at 5:20 on a Sunday with a party of 5 and got seated right away. I’m both gluten intolerant and egg intolerant and found plenty of options in the menu with the guidance of our waiter. Each dish came out hot and everyone loved the culinary experience! (The grilled calamari appetizer is amazing!) Highly recommend Malatesta and can’t wait to come back again when we visit NYC!

Great cozy Italian place. Food is pretty good, not the best in NYC but very fair. The star is definitely coziness. Really like the vibe and it’s nice to sit outside as well. The portions are a bit small I will say.

If I could give 10* for this Restaurant, it would be great! Very cozy and nice ambient, the staf is great, really friendly and helpful, and the food - top of the tops! Everything what we ate was super delicious! We had a reservation, so we didn't wait at all. Overall, this Restaurant is really worth visiting!

This was our fourth time dining at this restaurant, and we’ve always enjoyed the great food and atmosphere. Last night, we brought my niece and her boyfriend to share the experience and had a lovely dinner with wine. However, after being there for a little over an hour, we were asked to finish up because the next reservation had arrived. While we completely understand how busy the restaurant can get, the request felt a bit rushed and took away from what was otherwise a wonderful evening. We hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future guests, as we truly do enjoy coming here.

We had our 2nd visit on Saturday evening and oh my word, molto bene!!! The ragu is worth the effort to get to this lovely space in the West Village. Prices and portions are perfetto! Grazie mille!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unfussy and perfect Italian. Great vibes, great price. 🍝 Variety of homemade pastas. I recommend the spinach gnocchi in Gorgonzola. 🥂Fun, intimate, NYC atmosphere. If it’s warm, sit outside! 🍰The tiramisu portions are generous! Most popular item on the dessert menu. The chocolate mousse is also a winner. 🧾Service was slow the night I visited. Maybe they were short staffed. I’m not holding it against them. But don’t expect a fast in-and-out.

Il Buco Alimentari & Vineria is a charming Mediterranean restaurant and market located in Noho. The establishment offers carefully sourced, upmarket Mediterranean dishes served in a rustic-chic setting with its own wine cellar. In addition to being a dining room, it also functions as a grocer and food lab, producing its own bread, pastries, and charcuterie. The shelves are stocked with Italian imported and local goods, while the adjacent Il Buco Vita offers niche Italian products.
Favorite Italian place. We always get the prosciutto, carbonara (only available for lunch) and the spaghettini bottarga. The taste is pretty consistent - though we think the pasta tastes better/is more consistent for brunch/lunch. The olive oil they give you with the bread basket tastes so good. After we tasted the olive oil here we don't get the olive oil that we eat bread with from anywhere else than the market here. The dessert options are great too. We like the olive oil cake (the seasonal ones are good too) and the flourless chocolate cake. Servers are always attentive, efficient, welcoming and nice. We never had a negative experience here. We were always pleased by the wine recommendations too.

Cool restaurant with a market vibe indoors and lots of natural lighting. Perfect for brunch or a date. Pastas were decent although I think they could be slightly lighter on the sauces. Service is also patchy but they are friendly.

Really tasty dishes. Bella made us feel at home. Seating on the patio was also a nice touch to feel on vacations. The fried artichokes are a must. The cucumber and pine nuts cream nicely zesty. The cacio Pepe well executed. The chocolate custard was tasty and a generous portion!!!

Amazing food! Squid ink Vongole was to die for. Wagyu Buvette steak although very flavorful was a bit tough. The different cheeses and meat selections they have were great. 3 stars though because of the attitude of the hostess who was wearing a belly shirt at this fine establishment! Ridiculous.

Il Posto Accanto is a small, unstylish italian restaurant with a focus on classic Italian dishes with a Sicilian slant. The restaurant is popular with locals and offers delicious small plates.
Finally made it to Il Posto Accanto. Tucked away in the East Village, it’s is an absolute hidden gem for authentic Italian cuisine. From the warm, welcoming service to the thoughtfully curated wine selection, every detail adds to the charm of this spot. Their famous Sunday lasagna lives up to the hype—rich, comforting, and packed with flavor. Every dish we tried was exceptional, delivering that homemade, rustic Italian taste. Whether you’re a pasta lover or a wine enthusiast, this place is a must-visit. It is advisable to reserve in advance by calling them.

I had a wonderful experience dining here for a second time. The food was delicious, and Julio's wine suggestion was on point. I love that the menu changes often, which provides your taste buds with a different experience each time you visit. Situated in the middle of the block, you don't get any of the avenue traffic noise, even on a busy East Village summer evening. The restaurant has a great neighborhood vibe. If you come on the later side of the evening, be prepared to see the domino table set up and a nice, friendly game taking place between some of the regulars.

I had the absolute pleasure to dine with my best friends for my 25th birthday at Il Posto Accanto, and I could feel the love in every bite of delicious food from this beautiful restaurant. From my dirty martini to the squash blossoms, scallops, and lasagna - I felt my heart fill alongside my tummy as the night progressed. We felt welcomed and a part of the family. Thank you Julio and crew, and if you dine here - TAKE SUGGESTIONS! The food is picked and served with purpose🤍

This was recommended by a friend, absolutely loved it! Don't go there if you are looking for a fancy premium experience, but the food is great quality and the wine list is very nice. You have to call to book which I found at first being annoying and bold for New York, but it also makes it very authentic. Overall highly recommended and I will be back!

Oh.My.Gawwwd. This place feels like Nonna is in the kitchen putting her love into every dish. The pasta was handmade, heavy and fresh. The food was so delicious and authentic. The selections are not basic and every bite makes you feel like you're eating dinner in Italy. Dishes are truly a masterpiece and service was impeccable. The owner came by several times and ensure we were happy and satiated.

Great dinner here last night. Food is deliciously rustic and unfussy with top ingredients, vibrant flavors & generous portions (market-sourced specials esp worth considering). Well-curated, reasonable wine list, too. A bit loud and tight, but convivial with a festive buzz. Friendly, efficient service and co-owner Julio is a great host. Just a terrific neighborhood spot... reservations recommended !

Thoughtless. If I had to describe my experience in one word, that would be it. I called twice, a week in advance, to make sure my best friends and I had a nice dinner to celebrate our brother’s upcoming wedding. When we arrived a few minutes early for our reservation, the “manager” casually told me there was no record of it and that another party of five was ahead of us. At first, I thought he was joking. Who dismisses a customer like that? When I confirmed the phone number I’d called, even showing him my phone’s call log, he acknowledged it was correct but showed no concern, turning instead to chat with other patrons and staff. When I tried to have a calm conversation to understand what went wrong or how they’d fix it, he brushed me off, asking if I wanted to wait for a table or not, and that was it. Be aware!! This restaurant doesn’t take online reservations or provide any confirmation number or email. It’s literally call ahead and hope someone writes it down. Clearly, that system isn’t working! Overall, the manager on duty (a Black man wearing glasses) was rude, dismissive, and disinterested in resolving the issue or acknowledging their mistake. If you care about customer service or want any confidence in your reservation being honored, I’d steer clear of II Posto Accanto.

It’s one of those rare places where everything — the food, the people, and the experience — comes together perfectly. Highly recommended! 🇮🇹🍝

Restaurant
Forsythia is a charming Italian eatery located in the Lower East Side, known for its diverse range of seasonal homemade pastas and creative mains. Originally starting as a pop-up during the pandemic, it has since become a permanent restaurant, specializing in Roman comfort food with refined Italian flavors. The menu features handmade pastas and seasonal ingredients typical of Central Italy, such as tonnareli alla gricia and polpetta dal Santo Palato.
My friend and I visited Forsythia to catch up after a few months of not seeing each other. We were blown away by the service. All wait staff were so kind, funny, smiley and had great recommendations for our price range. We both got the 4 course prix fixe meal and everything was amazing. For our secondi we had a sort of lamb stew/curry situation and I swear I was going to lick the bowl clean. (But decorum so I resisted) Every course was spaced out so well, we had time to enjoy the wine that was recommended to us and truly catch up. The ambiance of the restaurant was very homey and chic. I would bring a date that I really like, do a double date, or dinner with the parents here.
Amarjot B — Google review
There’s a thoughtful elegance to the dining experience here. Stylish without trying too hard. The menu is tight, but every dish lands. Handmade pastas are treated as a craft, not a commodity. Lighting is soft, details are considered, and the service is polished yet relaxed, making you feel at ease while still taken care of. The meal begins with house focaccia. Soft enough to tear with your hands, warm enough that you’ll soak up every last drop of olive oil. From there, the misticanza salad offers simple greens elevated by the delicate crunch of pistachios. Then comes the suppli, arancini but not quite arancini, with cacio e pepe risotto. Squash blossoms arrive crisp and golden, warm with ricotta, balanced by a bright salsa rossa. The agnolotti are perfect pockets of slow-braised short rib. It’s pasta at an A+ level, topped and brightened by fresh chives. For dessert, the honey olive oil cake arrives looking like a small work of art. The cake itself is moist, fragrant, and surprisingly light. Equal parts presentation and flavor, memorable in both. Everything is executed at Forsythia with surgical precision. This is a restaurant where meticulous care is found in every plate.

i had the most incredible birthday dinner at forsythia and i’m still thinking about it this morning ! having worked in the service industry for over 15 years, i’ve experienced a wide range of dining experiences and i can confidently say this was some of the best service i’ve ever had. huge thanks to the incredibly talented chefs for such a memorable meal and to bill, our server, whose warmth, attentiveness, and deep knowledge of wine and spirits made the night exceptional. my family was visiting from out of state for the occasion and they were deeply impressed by his pairings. truly a one of a kind experience <3 we love u! the food was extraordinary, without question the best pasta i’ve ever had outside of rome. the pappardelle was perfectly silky, the agnolotti rich and comforting, and the stuffed squash blossoms were so delicate yet bursting with flavor the dash of cinnamon almost made me cry !! every dish felt like a masterclass in balance and execution. :) how this restaurant doesn’t already have a star or two is beyond me. forsythia is an absolute gem. thank you for making my birthday unforgettable. i can’t wait to return. much much much love xo

Bit of a mixed bag here. The room is cool, chill vibes, good music and lighting and professional, friendly service. We had the “surprise” 6 course tasting menu. There was definitely a problem in the kitchen because there were some extremely long delays between courses, our meal took 2 1/2 hours. We started with the complimentary focaccia, delicious and we went for the ricotta upcharge, $10 for 2 tablespoons of ricotta. Not sure the value proposition was there. Flavors were generally on point, the eggplant with some charred greens was OK but didn’t love it. Favorite dish was the crab agnolotti, scrumptious. The bucatini served before that was perfectly cooked, but was excessively salty, apparently because of the capers as we mentioned the issue to the server. However, it definitely tasted like someone slipped with the salt shaker. Our main was a kind of disappointing plate of mini meatballs in a sweet and savory sauce. Interesting but for $129 menu maybe we expected more than mini meatballs. Dessert was a scoop of peach and Prosecco sorbet, refreshing, but a little bit underwhelming for dessert on a tasting menu. I guess as I am writing this I kind of wanted to like it more than I actually ended up liking it.
ESB N — Google review
Pro tip: would always choose the bar seats (only 6) over any of the tables. We tried a few pastas and I think the agnolotti is the best by far. The drinks were great, our server / bartender Manny was very good, great drinks and super chill. We could see the kitchen and the chef / sous chef was taking every order to make sure was impeccable. This is at the top of our list now for Italian in the city.

Food was okay, not great (focaccia and salad was delicious. Pasta and secondi was not a personal favourite). However the bill included a 22% tip and then the machine asked for an additional tip. Crazy. It came to $300 for two people but I dont think the food lived up to $150 per head and the included tip of 22% did not feel right.

The host was unfriendly, which made for a poor first impression. Thankfully, our server was fantastic and very attentive. Unfortunately, there was no space to hang my coat, so I had to keep it on my lap throughout the meal. The portions were disappointingly small and very overpriced. The area itself felt uncomfortable and a bit strange. Overall, it’s expensive and definitely not worth it.

L&B Spumoni Gardens is a legendary Italian eatery that has been serving up Sicilian square pizza and frozen treats since 1939. Located in Gravesend, Brooklyn, this old-school counter is a must-visit for food enthusiasts in New York City. The signature square slice features a delectable fusion of molten cheese, focaccia-like crust, and tangy-sweet sauce.
This place goes way back so they must be doing something good. It’s a few blocks away from subway stations so it’s pretty accessible and looks relatively safe to walk around. They’re known for square pizzas & spumonis so we got those. You can order from the window outside and eventually eat at the outdoor tables or you can get a table inside. The square pizza’s dough is light & airy so you can eat a bunch, the regular slice is much more dense but thin so you can still scarf a few. They’re both baked fresh, that's why it tasted great. The spumoni we got wasn’t too sweet, had pistachio in it and tasted great.

Wonderful doesn't come close. We were a party of 10 including 3 kids, and we couldn't have had a more perfect afternoon. The food!! Yes of course the pizza but everything we ate was delicious -- mozzarella tomato salad, calamari, baked clams (to die for), soft and delicious chicken parm, the eggplant Sicilian ziti, the spaghetti marinara... Great inexpensive house chianti. And of course an incredible dessert platter. Thanks to the entire team - we will definitely be back!

Been coming here for decades. They have a full service restaurant with seafood and pasta. They have a walk up cash only pizza window with their famous squares. It is 4$ a slice/square - but worth it. They have a large outdoor seating area but can get chilly in the shade. There is usually street parking. I will post more pictures once I come for dinner at the restaurant. They have ice cream and spumoni. I tried the seasonal pumpkin flavor and it is delicious. It was not too pumpkiny or sweet - it was a nice pumpkin spice flavor. You can also buy tubs of ice cream, Italian iced and spumoni.

True to their legendary status the pizza was amazing, round and square both a different delight in every bite . From the soft pillowy dough of the Sicilian to the cheesy goodness of the Round cheese both were delicious, the spumoni was a very nice touch to finish off a pizza pie meal , lots of fresh pistachio chunks and packed with flavor to boot. Thank you for the good time and great food.

The Sicilian slice had the perfect amount of doughiness and the perfect crispy bottom. We had the shrimp fra diavolo with linguini pasta. Pasta was cooked to al dente and paired very well with the red sauce. Fried calamari was tender, not chewy at all, and was delicious with the marinara sauce. Definitely coming back to try other items from the menu and the GELATO!

L&B Spumoni Gardens was a fun experience dining in and the Pizza was very good. I think an important note to make, their Sicilian pizza, which is the recommended one to get, is not like other Sicilian slices in NYC. It's more like a loaf is bread with the cheese and sauce on top. It's still very good but caught me off guard. I like the traditional Sicilian style better but I can appreciate what L&B is doing and I still very much enjoyed their pizza.

This is third time coming back here! I loved it every single time. The only thing I don't like is the drinks, lol. But that's honestly ME. Because I prefer sweet wines and drinks and every time, I have tried a "sweet" wine from UVA, well, it wasn't. They were always dry, and I don't like it at all. The food has never failed, and the aesthetic is absolutely stunning! I went last week and it's Halloween dressed but it's still classy. I will be returning!

I came to Uva late at night around 11 p.m. with a few friends, and even though the kitchen was about to close in ten minutes, the staff still welcomed us and let us order. The service was excellent, super attentive and friendly. The food was fresh and really good, and I found the prices to be very reasonable. The ambience was cozy and inviting, and since it’s almost Halloween, their decorations definitely added to the vibe. Overall, great experience, good food, great service, and a fun atmosphere. Well done! 👏

Beautiful spot to go for a birthday dinner. Menu is great, me and my friends shared the Ragu Pappardelle , the eggplant lasagna, the pesto pasta , the caprese salad, and the meatballs. Loved that I could order half a portion of a pasta cause I wasn’t feeling like eating too much after the apps, so you have that option. Prices were a bit higher than I expected. Service was ok. UVA is a classic UES spot that never disappoints—perfect for a date night or catching up with a friend. The food is always reliable. I can never come here without ordering the truffle gnocchi—it’s rich, flavorful, and honestly hard to beat anywhere else. The gorgonzola pear salad was light, refreshing, and very good. The meatballs were just okay—small in size (six per order, good for sharing) with a sauce that tasted more onion-forward than I remember. Not bad, but not a standout. Service is consistently strong—the food came out quickly, our waitress was attentive, and the whole staff is always accommodating. A neighborhood staple for a reason.

The last day of our New York stay we wanted to have real authentic Italian food after our Guggenheim visit.... yes, this place was featured at NHONY but to me that would not matter. Pappardelle and Gnocchi Ricotta were our main dishes after a delicious salad (Bianca) and polpettine. Delicious, full of flavor and obviously using the correct ingredients as we did not feel drowsy afterwards (seems to be an issue with Italian places in our experience - maybe an issue California?). Finished our meal with real gelato and a torta di mandorle (almond tart). Ambiance? The place is quite dark but luckily we were able to sit at the back patio which helped a LOT. Quiet and plenty of daylight, while still easily accessible for the staff. Great place.

Palma is a charming Italian restaurant nestled on the quaint Cornelia Street in the heart of Greenwich Village with a hidden garden filled with fresh flowers, rustic wooden tables, and a 200-year-old Carriage House!. The glass ceiling above opens on the warmer days and in winter, you'll dine with cozy blankets wrapped around you.
I'm still dreaming about my incredible dining experience at Palma! From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, with a warm and inviting decor that made me feel like I was in a little slice of Italy. But what really stole the show was the food - oh, the food! Every dish I tried was expertly prepared and presented, with flavors that danced on my palate. The service was also top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who knew their stuff. If you're looking for an authentic Italian experience in the city, look no further than Palma. I'll be back, and soon! 5 stars isn't enough - I'd give it 10 stars if I could!

We came here to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and honestly, this Italian restaurant didn’t exactly exceed my expectations. We ordered a lot of dishes, and I was especially looking forward to the Fried Artichoke—it’s what brought us here in the first place. But it ended up being just okay… a bit over-fried and pretty average in flavor. The duck pasta was also a letdown—too salty, and the duck didn’t taste very fresh. Then we had the lamb chops, which were under-seasoned, though the pumpkin puree underneath was surprisingly delicious. The real stars of the meal were actually the seafood dishes. The fried calamari and the salad were so good—totally blew me away. If you come here, don’t miss the seafood. That’s where they shine. One thing I really appreciated was the flowers—every single one of them is real, no fakes. You can tell the owner really puts love into this place. The floral arrangements were absolutely beautiful, and I couldn’t help but take a bunch of pictures. My friends loved the decor too—it’s such a photogenic spot, especially for girls. If your girlfriend or bestie has a birthday coming up, this place would definitely make her smile. The interior design is just stunning.

Food is mid and bland for the price ($30+ per dish for small portions) but vibes/atmosphere is good. Mostly vegan and gluten free dairy free options so if you're into that, not bad for dates and special occasions. If just looking for quality Italian food, 100+ other options in the city. It is NYC after all. Wouldn't return again.

An Absolute West Village Gem! We just had the most magnificent lunch at Palma and I am still dreaming about it! This restaurant is a true destination. The design and decor are super charming—it feels like stepping into a sun-drenched Italian villa. We were lucky enough to dine in their outdoor covered patio space, and I highly recommend it. It was incredibly romantic and intimate, perfect for a special meal with my partner. We started by sharing the delectable tomato tart along with the radicchio and fig salad. Both were light, fresh, and beautifully executed, proving that even the simplest dishes here are crafted with care. For our main courses, the kitchen really shined: * My partner’s Chicken Milanese was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside, and wonderfully moist and juicy inside. * My fresh cod was divine! It was served atop a rich hazelnut cream sauce and complemented by fresh, earthy chanterelle mushrooms. Every bite, from start to finish, was pure joy. Adding to the wonderful atmosphere was the welcoming and friendly hospitality of the staff, which made us feel completely at home. We loved our experience so much that we are already planning a return trip before we leave the city! We can’t recommend Palma enough for a delicious and memorable dining experience.

Palma is a lovely spot in the West Village, though it does run pricey for what you get. Portions are on the smaller side, but the food itself is fresh and well prepared. The skylight patio is especially charming— intimate and cozy, perfect for a date night or small gathering. The overall experience was enjoyable, just not sure if the value stands out enough to become a regular spot.

It was more than a dinner, it was literally MAGICAL experience (every step, every page of the menu, every piece of tableware, every gesture of the staff who took care of us) and my family was nothing but delighted with food, ambience and hospitality!! and the FLOWERS, oh, the flowers!! Absolutely wonderful, absolutely must visit for everyone who wants to try the best (imho) Italian food in nyc and no doubt get the best wine options. Im so happy we decided to try different meals, and from the very first bite of focaccia we enjoyed everything. Can’t wait to be back and explore more!!

Lunch at Palma Was ABSOLUTELY outstanding! From the welcoming host greeting us when we came in to the flowers surrounding our table and ornate porcelain plates. Every detail makes you feel welcomed and cared for. The food is supremely fantastic with only the best locally sourced ingredients. I highly recommend the Pissaladiere, which is from the French side of the menu a savory Provencal tart and the tiramisu! Buon appetito and Bon appétit!

The vibes at Palma are unmatched, get ready to get whisked away to a quant little town in Italy! This restaurant came up as having great gluten-free options when I was doing some research for a dinner with some friends. It's rare to find a restaurant that is good at gluten-free pasta but according to my GF friend, the Cacio e Pepe ravioli was amazing. The quality of the ingredients is so clear as you are eating the food and after. I went with the Paccheri all'Astice: the pasta was perfectly al dente and there was a generous amount of lobster which was also cooked to perfection. The sauce is simple yet flavorful and it's everything you could ever want in a seafood pasta. Our server Guillaume was so kind and attentive and we were really treated so well throughout the whole evening. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to all pasta lovers and especially to those with GF diets!

Vic's is a popular Italian-Mediterranean restaurant located in NoHo, Manhattan. Since its opening in 2014, it has been known for its impressive array of Italian dishes and cocktails, including housemade limoncello. The menu features a variety of pizzas and housemade pastas, with the delicate borsa pasta stuffed with sheep's milk ricotta being a standout dish. The restaurant also offers fresh pastries on weekends.
Excellent Italian cuisine at a great price in Soho. My son adores the fresh campanelle pasta—he keeps it simple with butter and cheese, while I go for the pomodoro. Both are fantastic. The wine list is thoughtfully curated, with a strong focus on Italian selections. The Falanghina is a standout—light, crisp, and refreshingly subtle, without the heavier honey notes often found in others. The service is outstanding—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.

Fantastic Italian restaurant in NoHo! Came here for dinner on a Saturday night and it was quite busy. Booked a reservation a week out for 7p. The food was fantastic, service was amazing and the atmosphere was great. We liked how the restaurant was quite roomy so it wasn’t like you were sitting super close to the people next to you. The service was amazing and we were lucky to have a very attentive waitress. We really loved the food and the chefs do a phenomenal job. Calamari was perfect. Crispy tender with a unique sauce underneath. The chicken was also really good and paired well with the broccolini and potatoes. The lasagna was stand out. To end, the rainbow cookies gelato and tiramisu were both great.

Delicious! So much thoughtfulness applied in marrying the flavors. It warmly invites the palate to partake in a nurturing and transformative experience. Mia, our host, provided a delightful visit for us, with many star suggestions that agreed with the vibe we were going for. Must be enjoyed with good company... it makes a difference. Absolutely LOVE this place. Such a great vibe and the food is impeccable! Celebrated my birthday here recently with a few friends and everyone was impressed. Adriana, the event planner, was extremely helpful and kind when I was organizing the event and I am so grateful for her assistance. The prix fixe is SO MUCH FOOD and we couldn't stop eating, nor did we want to. It was that good. Will definitely be back.

Great cozy/casual restaurant. Was able to walk in on a late Friday night and grab a bar seat after a horrible experience at another restaurant. We got the prosciutto and burrata, bread, 2 spaghettis and steak. Everything was excellent and I can’t wait to go back to try more. I liked both spaghettis but the lemon spaghetti edged out the smoked by just a little for me. Prosciutto and burrata went great with the bread, one of the best I’ve had but unfortunately it wasn’t warm. Would have been amazing warm. The steak was cooked well and I enjoyed the white sauce but the potatoes were a bit plain to me. I wish they were a bit herbier and more seasoned. Definitely interested in those apps and other pastas so we will be back. We had the soft touch and Kyoto song to drink and that was great along with their margarita. Pricing is very fair as well!

$60 for a truffle pasta that’s overcooked and bland is a lot - there’s a nice amount of truffle shavings though and that’s it. The squid ink was good but nothing mind-blowing. I have had better squid ink pasta. The other two pasta dishes were alright - not memorable. They’re well-made in terms of technical execution, but overall mid in terms of flavor, and def not competitive. Tiramisu was mid and quite bland - could barely taste the layers of flavors that make it a tiramisu - it’s basic. Flat, one-dimensional. Would I go back here? Probably not - I’d rather try other italian restaurants - they’re EVERYWHERE in NYC anyway.

Update: After that we didnt have the best experience, we went back 2 weeks after. Cause every place deserves a second chance right. Let me start with that this time we had the experience that we expected in the first place. From the moment we entered all the staff went above and beyond to give us a great experience. We had a nice starter with the parmaham and some olives and bread. Followed by the tagliatelle ragu, which was really good! Hot and tastefull. To finish with a cheeseplate and the tiramisu. We accompanied all this with a nice red wine which was recommended by the staff. Would difinetely return again next time in New York. Original review: We had a reservation on a monday evening at 20.45. We entered a little early and were sat at a table inside. When we go out for dinner we want to take our time and enjoy the moment. Start with a drink and a bite before moving to our main course. We ordered some drinks and the Pasta Lemon, Lasagna and a salad. Within 5 minutes we had all the food in front of us. I didnt even get my drink yet. Which directly made us wonder was this really prepared fresh. The pasta was also not that warm, it felt reheated. When we said to the waitress that we didnt expect our food so fast, the only response was that it was the end of the night and that the kitchen cooks really fast. We ordered at 20.51 and we were out of the door at 21.21 All in all not the experience we expected from a place like this.

Nestled in the vibrant Park Slope/Prospect Heights area, Fausto is a delightful Italian restaurant that brings a touch of elegance to rustic dining. Formerly the beloved Frannys Pizzeria, this establishment has transformed into a culinary gem where Chef Erin Shambura and sommelier Joe Campanale craft seasonal dishes inspired by local farmers' markets. Known for its fresh pasta and inviting atmosphere, Fausto is perfect for special occasions or simply enjoying an exquisite meal with friends.
What a lovely meal. I came here for a birthday dinner. We were seated downstairs in a bit of a cozy nook. I had orange wine for the first time which was so cool to try. We ordered arancini and focaccia as starters. I had the pork orecchiette for dinner which was very good. But the star of the show was that focaccia! You must try it, it’s like no other focaccia. It was amazing. Highly recommend checking this spot out if you’re in Brooklyn.

A delicate, balanced Brooklyn restaurant, Fausto has everything a person could want for a simple but elegant dinner. Fausto is perfect for any occasion, a graduation, Friday night family dinner, or an anniversary. The appetizers are diverse, fresh, and tasty. The tomato salad was made up of fresh tomatoes from the Saturday Grand Army Plaza market, a clear representation of the restaurant and its values. The pastas are limited but delicious, with fresh herbs and a clearly thought out menu. The thing that really blew our parties mind was the dessert. The gelato and sorbetto are impeccable, and the olive oil cake was delicious. I would 100% recommend Fausto for a casual but elegant dinner. Enjoy.

I find most good, upscale Italian restaurants in NYC are sort of hard to distinguish from one another; there are a lot of similar dishes on the menu, similar vibes to the rooms, etc. Fausto does an excellent job of standing out from the crowd with really unique and delicious choices, excellent cocktail pairings, and a fun, modern restaurant interior. Love it, will continue coming back.

Forma Pasta Factory Rating: 8.5/10 Date Last Visited: 9/5/2025 We ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese ($14) and Orecchiette ($17), which was the Friday special. I’ve also come in the past and ordered the Pipette Ragu ($14) and Fettuccine Funghi ($14). All the pasta I tried were cooked well, had amazing toppings, and delicious. My favorite was the ragu, but the fettuccine and bolognese are close seconds. The Friday special was good too, but was not as flavorful. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for good quality and tasting pasta for a solid price.

After class, my friends and I were hungry and wanted to eat at some restaurant nearby. We heard that Forma Pasta Factory has homemade pasta, so we decided to go. We ordered at the boot and paid up front, they will bring food to the table. Fettuccine Funghi; sautéed wild mushrooms, rosemary & thyme cream sauce, parmigiano reggiano, I love this dish the most. Spaghetti Pomodoro; san marzano tomatoes, basil, and parmigiano reggiano, regular Thursday Special Chitarra; ‘frutti di mare,’ shrimp, squid, mussels, calabrian chili, spicy white wine broth, it is good seafood dish. We shared all dishes so I got to try all of that. The vibe is very casual and easy going.

Fiaschetteria "Pistoia" is an intimate Italian eatery that offers a rustic ambiance reminiscent of a Tuscan farmhouse. The restaurant serves comforting and delicious antipasti and homemade pasta dishes, such as pappa al pomodoro, paper-thin prosciutto, and hand-cut noodles with slow-cooked duck ragu.
Great tasting food, portions are small tho especially for pasta which is peanuts. Although the desserts were so tasty! It saved the experience.

Food was great. Nice pasta and salad. Servers can improve, they'll forget to bring water or ask for wine and such but it was terribly busy Saturday evening so I understand. It's a tiny place and seats about 50-60 people inside and it gets loud, really loud. Ended up with a headache after the dinner. Food made it worth all the other setbacks. They also topped off tiramisu with a lot of espresso and it was bitter. So try that at your own risk.

I had really high expectations before coming... It was great but didn't live up to them. The food was delicious, fresh, tasty but not outstanding. The service was ok considering how busy they were. The atmosphere of the place was what I enjoyed the most and it was well worth it for that alone. I would go back, I would like to give it another chance to live up to the reviews I had read and my expectations. Definitely worth visiting

Great pasta and wine selection. We got the prosciutto for apps and then truffle, cacio e pepe and the tomato sauce pasta. The espresso and tiramisu for dessert. The pasta was so good, full of flavor and chewy and the tiramisu was nice too. They sliced the prosciutto at the spot so it was soft and good. The bread service was bread kind of cut off into small pieces so almost thought they were leftovers but it was fine. I'd definitely visit again but would just get the truffle and cacio e pepe pastas and tiramisu. Def much better than the West village location. The service was fast and efficient, just that there were only three servers working that day so it was hard to get their attention when we needed something. (This may just have been that kind of day.)

Unpopular opinion: dim lights NEED to go … enough about the ‘vibes’. I actually want to see my food and company!! One more light bulb won’t hurt the ambiance, I promise !! Had a little dinner with some friends in a cozy part of the city <3 we chose this spot because of the rare promise of affordable food in the East Village (unheard of). I’ve already forgotten what I ordered but it was something whole wheat & lots of sauce. I was grateful they had that in their menu. Whole wheat is so underrated !! And. Complimentary stale cold bread .. I’ll take another plate of that , please & thank you :) Service & the waitstaff were a god send. We made a mistake of underestimating the power of a Friday night. So everyone & their aunts were dining here. Fortunately we were able to opt for the 45 minute dine & go action. We were on a time crunch! But everyone was friendly & understanding. A little suspicious that our food came out so fast but no point in thinking about THAT. overall it was a good experience.

Very cozy, rustic, and comfortable atmosphere. It was easy to have conversations in this restaurant. Not sure who was on aux at the time but they had a killer playlist going. We booked a reservation and they were able to seat our large party of 10. Excellent service. I ordered the shrimp pasta with spaghetti and it got the job done, but next time I would be curious to try something else. Delicious tiramisu.

The food and drinks are amazing, however my experience with the service was not great. We got a text that our table was ready (after we waited the 40 minutes they said it would take) and were told “give us two more minutes”. That 2 minutes turned into 15 and no one came to check on us for another 5 minutes. We were never given water until we asked for a second time and they didn’t bring us a bottle like they did for every other table in the place. Would love to give a higher rating because our food was amazing, but the service was not it.

🥓🧀 BURRATA ON MY CYBORG ARM?! Yes, and it was divine. Some meals aren’t just food — they’re a moment. A memory. A wow. 📍Somewhere in San Francisco, under checkered tablecloths and soft evening light, I tried this burrata-topped bruschetta with prosciutto, arugula, and balsamic glaze. And let me tell you: the burrata was so creamy it melted under the fork like butter under sunshine. The arugula added that peppery punch, and the balsamic was the perfect kiss on top. 🥹 But the star? ✨ Arancini. My very first time. Crunchy on the outside, soft and warm inside… and then — surprise! — a little green pea hiding like a secret. One bite and I was in Italy (in my head at least). 🇮🇹✨ Food this good deserves to be remembered. Beretta on Divisadero — consider me impressed. Cyborg-approved. The open kitchen serves up a variety of Mediterranean dishes, from summer peppers with anchovies to lobster paccheri and wood-fired pizzas topped with ingredients like littleneck clams and broccoli rabe.

Tucked away in Nolita’s charming corner, Pasquale Jones is the kind of place that doesn’t just serve food, it delivers an experience. The Margherita pizza was a masterclass in simplicity: a blistered, airy crust with the perfect chew, balanced by the tangy sweetness of San Marzano tomatoes and the creamy melt of fresh mozzarella. Basil leaves crowned it all, gently singed from the wood-fired oven, adding an aromatic lift to every bite. Don’t be fooled by the “personal size” label this pizza is generously portioned, easily the size of a regular large pizza. Perfect for sharing, though you may not want to. Paired with a crisp white wine, the combination was effortlessly elegant. The wine’s acidity cut through the richness of the cheese, cleansing the palate and making each slice feel like the first. To finish, we tried the panna cotta, and it was the perfect finale. Silky, subtly sweet, and topped with a seasonal fruit compote. Delicate, light, and beautifully balanced. The ambiance is intimate yet energetic, thanks to the open kitchen and warm, minimalist design. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the laidback luxury of the experience.

Tried the Margherita pizza and the chopped salad. The pizza was pretty good — not as floppy as a lot of Neapolitans, which I actually liked. Nice balance of flavor and texture. The chopped salad was decent but the cheese in it was a little hard and strong, which threw it off a bit. Overall, pretty good meal but nothing that really stood out as exceptional.

GENUINELY one of my favorite places to eat in the city. I’ve been a few times now, and even visited their sister restaurant Charlie Bird — a spot I also highly recommend, but something about PJs is just special. Well balanced dishes, beautiful desserts and always something new to try. Here are my yummy stuffed shells from this week:

Momofuku Nishi, a restaurant by David Chang, offers a modern twist on Italian cuisine in a stylish setting. The menu features fresh salads like gem lettuces and endive, perfect for pairing with savory noodles such as campanelle and cacio de pepe. Guests can enjoy pickled antipasti and flavorful pasta dishes like chitarra spaghetti and tagliatelle with fermented black beans.
Spur of the moment dinner, luckily at one of the best restaurants in Chelsea. We weren't able to get a table but got seats at the bar. No matter, service and decor were great there too. The wait staff were very familiar with the menu and the cooking method. The food was super tasty and cooked just right. We had the Red Endive salad, Pork Pasta, and Duck Breast.

Good selection of small plates to share (pickled cabbage and other cold veggies), some interesting pasta dishes for lunch as well as Italian inspired sandwiches. The impossible burger is not bad but the fries are what did it for me - so Korean chilly to give it a kick, well done.
Puxan — Google review
Campanelle was my favorite. The pasta was chewy, creamy, and full of flavor from crab. I wish they had slightly more sauce. Red endive was good too but a little too salty for me. We didn't like Heritage pork chop. It wasn't very tender and felt a little too under cooked for some parts.

Another incredible David Chang restaurant. One of my favorite parts of his menus are the crisp and fresh salads. They go perfect with the savory noodles. We ordered the gem lettuces and the endive. The endive was the better of the two, but both were phenomenal. For noodles, we ordered the campanelle and the cacio de pepe. Seriously the cacio was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. 10/10 would order again.

Excellent fusion restaurant- it’s Italian influenced by Asian flavors. (Noodles were from China after all). Pastas were great. Monkfish seemed more Asian than Italian but tasted great. Service was very friendly and professional.

Outstanding experience. Went without a reservation and they made some space at the bar for us. The pickled antipasti were all great and aplenty. We ordered the chitarra spaghetti and the tagliatelle, both flavorful and cooked in a timely fashion. It is worth noting they put fermented black beans on the tagliatelle, which impart a unique fullness to the dish composition. We had a slight misunderstanding about menu item (thus the knocked star) but the manager was quick to resolve; apologizing for the menu error and honoring the advertised price. These guys work hard, efficiently and know the dishes top to bottom.

Only came here to try the plant-based impossible burger so can't comment on the rest of the menu, which did look incredible! Impossible burger was definitely impressive, the bleeding plant based patty is fascinating, but taste wise I found it disappointing (although others quite liked it). The service was great and the restaurant was not particularly busy on a weekday lunch, we walked right in and got a table for 4.

Ordered blue crab pasta and bucatini. Both of them were too salty, so we had to order some breads on the side. Campanelle, the blue crab pasta was tasty but too much seasoning, and bucatini was interesting, sweet and sour flavors. Even though they were very salty, pasta noodles were cooked perfectly, and sourdough bread with anchovy dressing was great.

Altro Paradiso is a modern Italian cafe located in Soho, the second property by chef Ignacio Mattos. The restaurant offers a simple yet refined menu with a focus on traditional Italian cooking. The airy and wood-accented space creates a relaxed atmosphere for diners to enjoy dishes that highlight high-quality ingredients, such as mozzarella with figs and tuna with potatoes.
A really gorgeous restaurant, beautifully decorated and relaxing to sit in. Great staff. Stand out meal of the week esp tuna tartare, steak for two and rhubarb dessert. Knowledgeable sommelier and our waiter Miguel was brilliant. Such a good experience we went back the following night. Expensive restaurant but the quality lived up to the cost and it was a super night out.

All food was served with great quality. Especially Oyster is taste like gold. Pasta, steak, cocktail(forgot its name) were great as well. Quantity over quality restaurant
Josh K — Google review
Had a fantastic dinner at Altro Paradiso. The food was exceptional—especially the shrimp carpaccio and the buffalo mozzarella with anchovy and broad beans (mind-blowing!). The pesto pasta with roasted chicken was great too, and we loved the homemade ricotta and dark chocolate gelato for dessert. Service was friendly and attentive. The only downside: the restaurant gets very loud, so maybe not ideal if you’re looking for a quiet spot. But if you’re after great Italian food in a lively atmosphere, this place delivers.

I took my family here as an end cap to a European vacation. We started with bubbles, a delicious mocktail, and arancini. We followed with incredible pastas, chicken, beans and salads. We had an Olympic finish with incredible desserts and Amaro. It was a perfect experience from start to finish. The service was flawless-super caring and charming, and the food was both simple and dazzling. This place is perfect for an easy dinner, a special occasion, business or pleasure, solo or in lots of wonderful company. Not pictured is the family asleep in the cab on the ride home because they were so relaxed.

Escaped the soho shops for a Friday lunch and very much enjoyed. The pasta was spot-on (all varieties!) and the tiramisu was pretty darn good. Funky layout means you need to land on a table that works....which we did get (after a move)…..but once settled this restaurant made a very positive impact - a little gem!
D J — Google review
The food itself was fine, but the service left a really bad impression. We were only ordering a few small dishes and the server immediately looked annoyed, her demeanor going icy. She even said, “That’s all you’re getting? Umm oookay,” and then left. The place wasn’t busy, and we were just enjoying drinks and small bites, but she made us feel completely unwelcome. It was unpleasant from start to finish.

dell'anima is a charming Italian restaurant that translates to "of the soul" in Italian. The menu offers seasonal and elegant dishes with a focus on simplicity, including bruschetta and fresh homemade pastas. The wine list boasts over 150 carefully selected wines, emphasizing traditional and natural winemaking.
Dining at Dell'Anima is an experience that transcends the ordinary. Nestled in a cozy yet vibrant space, this gem offers an open kitchen concept where the magic unfolds right before your eyes. The chefs, with their infectious enthusiasm, not only craft dishes to perfection but also generously share their culinary secrets, making the meal as much about learning as it is about savoring. The wine selection, though modest in size, is impeccably curated to complement the equally concise but exquisite menu. Every sip feels like a carefully considered pairing, enhancing each bite. I indulged in my go-to favorites: the bolognese, a rich and hearty classic, and the grilled octopus, perfectly tender with just the right char. My partner explored with the endives, a refreshing and crisp starter, followed by the branzino, a delicate yet flavorful dish that was a true testament to the chefs' skill. Dell'Anima’s ability to deliver excellence through simplicity is unmatched. Every plate, every glass, and every interaction feels intentional and warm. For anyone who values the intimacy of dining as much as the flavors on the plate, this is a must-visit. Truly outstanding!

I was so happy that they reopened in the West Village and got to celebrate our anniversary there. Food was as amazing as I remember. We got the burrata and asparagus to start, spaghetti with pesto and burrata (so delicious w pieces of nuts and a citric touch) and the carbonara which is still the best carbonara around. My only comment is that we were seated on a table for 2 in the back room and there was a table for 3 next to us and a table for 8 behind and basically were locked in for the dinner with no room to move, even for New York felt too crowded.
Joyce W — Google review
Perfect place to go if you have a toddler yet still want nice restaurant quality food. We set up a high chair at a plain table for 4 in what's basically a food court. That to us is a benefit because we didn't have to worry about it being too nice for a child. The food was great. Just as good as a snooty white tablecloth restaurant with judgemental waiters. Our favorite is the Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese.
Scott H — Google review
I was fortunate to have lived at Gotham West because Dell'anima was literally downstairs at Gotham West Market. I've been a fan ever since they served their first dish there and the greatness continues at their new location. We got the Charred Octopus, Endive salad, and Bucatini Arribbiata. Delicious. The vibes and service were great and we can't wait to be back again!

This cozy pasta spot is a gem! Every dish, from the perfect focaccia flatbread to the tender octopus and all the handmade pastas, was simply exquisite. You can taste the freshness and passion in every bite, making it an unforgettable, comforting meal. (Y me atendieron muy bien, en español)

I went with my wife to celebrate our 18th anniversary, and we were thrilled to see Dell’Anima back in the West Village. We used to go all the time when it first opened on Jane Street—it was our favorite restaurant for years. Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. The experience was uncomfortable from the start, with freezing cold air blowing on us the entire meal. The food didn’t redeem it either. The bruschetta was rock hard, and the ricotta with olive oil lacked any real flavor. The lily confit was decent, but that’s about it. The Tajarin Carbonara was flat and flavorless—and it wasn’t even Tajarin; it was fettuccine. Some of the cheese strips even had blue mold on them. The Bucatini Arrabbiata was just okay—not bad, but nothing memorable. The mushroom pappardelle was bland and clumped together in one big mass. The risotto was the most disappointing of all—it completely missed the mark. Instead of being creamy and starchy, it was undercooked and tasted like a bowl of par-cooked farro. I complete smack in the face of Italian cooking. We left most of the food uneaten (except for the bucatini), and no one bothered to ask how our meal was. Dell’Anima from 18 years ago will always hold a special place in my heart—the open kitchen, the energy, and watching that tall, tattooed chef serve some of the best Italian food in New York City. Sadly, this version of Dell’Anima is not that.

Went on a Sunday night. Restaurant looks nice and the ambience and service were fine, but the food was horrible. I think it is the worst food I have had in 3 years of living in New York (especially compared to the price) Duck Confit -1/10 It was so salty we had to send it back. To make it worse they served it with pickled onions and mustard which did nothing to balance the flavor and made it even more gross and briny. Bone marrow - 2/10 was so overcooked that none of the actual flavor of the marrow was still there. It tasted like I was eating a crunchy hamburger off a bone. Would serve it to a dog, but only because he’d enjoy the bone. Carbonara - 3/10 way too salty, pasta was overcooked and the whole dish was watery to the point of squeaking. Nero- 4/10 the pasta was cooked well and tasty, the shrimp tasted like it had been frozen and way too overcooked. We were so disappointed with the food that we when to the Tashkent supermarket nearby. I would recommend anyone eats there instead as the food is way better and 1/10th the cost.

If you're looking for a delicious Italian meal in the Cobble Hill area, you need to check out Lillo Cucina Italiana. This small cafe offers made-to-order dishes as well as sandwiches and pastries, and the food is simply outstanding. The bombolone (a type of pastry filled with cream and Nutella) is especially delicious, but be sure to try their other dishes too!
The pasta was freshly made and phenomenal. The service was also great. Just be aware that there’s very little seating and it’s very casual, one server (I believe the owner). It’s not fancy, but it is authentic, fantastic food.

My friend and I can’t stop raving about this place! We adored the food, the service, the atmosphere - I’m already thinking about going back. You could tell they cooked everything with love. I got the linguine pescatora and while they were out of clams, they included extra mussels instead. Regardless, the dish was immaculately flavorful! There isn’t much seating indoors, but I would say it made the experience extra special because we got lucky and were seated immediately (we got there shortly after 1 on a Sunday). Shout out for the warm, friendly and attentive service. This restaurant is truly the whole package (but just a heads up, it is a cash only establishment.)

This cute little Italian restaurant is pretty awesome in a quiet little neighborhood. The staff was super nice and made the vibe feel like a chill place to hangout and enjoy your meal. I got the cacio e pepe which was great. The fresh cracked pepper and the pasta was very fresh and more al dente the way I liked it. This place takes cash only so make sure you have some on you to pay.

Absolutely loved it, and will go again - had sandwiches for lunch which were so tasty and very reasonably priced - you could taste the quality of ingredients. And the Tiramisu was incredible! Ate so fast forgot to take a pic but its so worth it- cash only!

Cash only and a small place - there’s only 5 tables inside. One of the most genuine Italian restaurants I’ve been to. They perfectly prepared the clams so they didn’t have sand in them which is pretty hard to do. Everything was great. Got hot chocolate to go. Seems like they make a lot of things from scratch. Update: I come here all the time still and my favorite thing to order is the spaghetti and meatballs. The tiramisu is really good too. They offer sparkling water at a really cheap cost.

Located near Union Square, da Umberto is a renowned Northern Italian restaurant that has been serving authentic cuisine for over 20 years. The classic white table-clothed interior exudes old-world charm while the menu offers traditional dishes with contemporary twists. From spicy vodka-sauce pennette to truffle ravioli, the restaurant balances timeless flavors with modern flair.
We have wanted to try da Umberto for a while now, but don't go downtown much. Tonight was our lucky night as the place we visited earlier was right across the street from da Umberto, so we finally gave this establishment a try and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The food was solid, and the service was amazing. This is a great place to have a special occasion, Italian meal.

Spent a valentine’s night here. The atmosphere was so good and perfect for a date night, however the food was just okay(maybe it’s because the valentine and everything was in a rush) veggies were too salty, and other dishes were just okay, not something you would immediately say “so good”. At least it’s not prefixed and the price was reasonable. Overall recommend it for couples who want a romantic date.
Iris S — Google review
Food was so-so. Two of our dishes were overcooked. The octopus was a sad portion that was overcooked. The bone-in veal chop was tasty but totallly overcooked. The carpaccio and truffle ravioli were really good. It felt like they were really rushing us. We could barely drink a sip of wine before they were pouring more. Was that good service or them trying to turn a table quickly???! Not sure.

Wow! Was brought here by friends and had an incredible dinner. From the wine choices to the specials, everything was on point. The antipasti appetizer of roasted vegetables and shrimp scampi was delicious, paired with a glass of Gavi di Gavi. The rigatoni was al dente with a savory ragu and enjoyed with a glass of Super Tuscan. The chocolate mousse cake was a great ending to the meal with a glass of Amaro Amarino. Recommended.

AMAZING food AMAZING service!! Luis read us the specials and recommended dishes as well as worked with the chef to make sure all of my food was gluten free (i have celiac disease). He took great care of us all night. Almost every dish was able to be made gluten free. I was told the chef even hand-makes gluten free pasta. The ambiance was very nice, our water glasses were always kept full, and our table was refreshed in between courses. Thank you for a wonderful birthday here, da Umberto's!!

I’ll caveat this review that I had reservations at 2:45 and they close at 3 pm so the situation is not ideal but that’s no excuse for execution at this fine establishment. I started off with asking for their house white wine. Can’t recall the ambit it was crisp and refreshing, perfect for a lunch meal. Although at $18/glass, you might think twice. The octopus dish had one flavor:burnt. I didn’t taste anything else. That was a bummer. The spaghetti with clams was out of this world deliciousness it saved the entire experience. Perfectly executed. It may very well be the best spaghetti dish I’ve ever had. The bucatini was also perfectly cooked. Overall, solid but felt rushed and uneasy, partly because of me but also with the staff running around the restaurant. It’s not a cheap venue so my expectation will be high. Will return as I think this is a one off and the restaurant probably deserves a 5*.

Good, but I was expecting more. To be honest, Da Umberto captures the feel of an oldschool Italian American restaurant of the eighties. I found myself recalling Little Italy with the smells and surroundings--even down to the waiters, who would add nonsensical commentary about the wines on the table. Unfortunatly, this is now more of what you'd expect as a tourist, and if it's what you crave, you can probably still find it in Little Italy. The food also mirrored the standards you'd expect at Mott st. Vitello Tonnato was good , not great. Roasted Brussels were good, far from great, and grilled Pork Chop was cooked medium-well--a total shame, and again, something you'd expect from an establishment in the eighties. I wanted to love (even expected to love) Da Umberto, but was ultimately let down.

Unfortunately the TikTok craze is not always right, we found this place online and flew in like a kite. The food was not worth the hype after the first bite, But I do think they have a future that can be bright. The service is excellent, not complaining in that front, And I will not prevent you from going, believe me or not. Apologies if I'm being too blunt, But if you are wanting italian get back on the hunt. The food is average, don't mean to be cruel but the price is what will make you feel like a fool. Much more pricey than expected, not cool. But I guess in the Upper East is the rule.

We came here on a Sunday evening close to closing and they were very sweet and happy to seat us. Ambiance: The bar area is really nice. They have done a great job with table set up as well and I love the colored water glasses. Sandro’s is great for big groups, small groups and dates. Service: everyone was very friendly. Our waiter was very helpful on giving us suggestions on what to order based on our preferences. He also gave us advice on whether certain modifications would work with our meal choices. Food: They started us off with complimentary bread and bruschetta. The bruschetta was really yummy. A classic and simple take on bruschetta which was perfectly seasoned. The bread was also nice and soft. As our entree, I got their vodka sauce with house made fettuccini. The pasta felt perfectly cooked and I really enjoyed the sauce with it. The spaghetti pomodoro was also on point. It had the right amount of pasta or sauce ratio and the sauce was really flavorful. Price: we got 4 entrees and 2 glasses of wine and our meal came out to about $50/person. Insta: @TheShahLALand

Sandros was recommended to us by the owner of a small vineyard in Frascati outside Rome. Run, don’t walk. This was the most delicious and authentic Italian meal I’ve had since being back from Italy. Cannot wait to come back to try more dishes! We shared the Burrata appetizer, it was perfect. The roasted peppers were delicious and sweet. The balsamic they put on the table was the best I’ve ever had. Then we had the real Milanese and lemon pasta - both were the best versions of each I’ve ever had. Will be back as soon as possible!

A fine dining NYC chef recommended this spot to me, so when I was in the area for a holiday party, I decided to stop by for dinner with some friends. Now I have to wonder how high that chef was. This was one of the worst Italian meals I've ever had in the city--which is saying something because this city is full of bland, terrible Italian restaurants. The complimentary lentil soup we began with was probably the only thing I really liked. I should've just stuck with a big bowl of that. Instead, we decided to order a few dishes to share: the Bucatini Amatriciana (overcooked), the Spaghetti Con Vongole (watery and bitter), the Fettucine with White Veal Ragu (decent), and the Gamberi Alla Marinara (not spicy in the least, despite the menu warning otherwise). I do appreciate the complimentary lemon cookies at the end, but I wouldn't venture back here even if all of NYC's Michelin-starred chefs proclaimed it their favorite restaurant. Maybe my palate isn't refined enough? Oh well.

Great service and authentic Italian food. When we were seated, they immediately brought out bruschetta, bread, and breadsticks, a thoughtful touch. The salad, cacio e pepe, and wine were all excellent. To top it off, we were brought a warm cookie before heading out. 10/10 recommend.

We got the prix-fixe meal with a group of 10. Meal started with appetizers: roasted veggies, snap peas, prosciutto, burrotta w bread. Next course was pastas. A great assortment of 4 different pastas... All the noodles were cooked perfect al dente; my favorite one was the rigatoni with beef raghu. Then came a steak and salmon dish which were also both delicious. The service was on point with an attentive staff. After each course, the waiter would rotate all our dishes and silverware. Definitely recommend for large groups!

I really wanted to like this restaurant and was really excited about my upcoming meal. The appetizers were great - mozzarella and wilted escarole. However, the pasta dishes came without salt and lacked flavour in general. Not enough of any other ingredient expect the pasta, and not enough attention paid to execution to make the flavours come through. Throughout the meal, dishes were dumped in front of us in a rush, and it was evident that we were expected to leave within an hour or less. When the server asked how things were, we responded "all right". He asked if there was a problem, and we responded that there wasn't, but that the pasta was just all right. He just walked away and came back a while later to bring dessert menus. What a disappointing experience. You can do so much better in NYC.

This place is awesome! The spicy lamb pasta is definitely where it's at but you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Yes, it is pricey, hence the 4 stars vs 5 but it's just about the best plate of pasta you can get. On a weekday night you can usually get in without a reservation - get ready to leave happy! If you want fresh, homemade pasta, come here.
