Kanakakunnu Palace is one of the most peaceful and beautiful places in Thiruvananthapuram. The surroundings are full of greenery, open space, and clean walking paths. It’s a perfect spot to spend time with family or friends, especially in the evenings when the breeze is cool and the lights around the palace look stunning. The atmosphere here is calm and refreshing — you can just sit and enjoy nature away from the busy city traffic. The palace area is also great for photography and evening walks. There’s a lot of space for kids to play, and it’s a popular place for morning jogs too. The maintenance is good, and the garden is always neat and tidy. It’s a wonderful place to relax, enjoy the view, and feel close to nature right in the middle of the city. I would definitely recommend visiting Kanakakunnu Palace if you want to experience peace, beauty, and a bit of history — all in one place! 🌿

Napier Museum, located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is a 19th-century architectural marvel housing archaeological artifacts, historical relics, and art pieces. The museum features royal seats with Chinese engravings, a musical bow in mahogany, colored windows, and intricately painted and carved rosewood ceilings. Situated near the museum is the Kanakakunnu Palace which was once used as a summer retreat by the Travancore royal family to entertain guests.
Napier Museum: Where History, Nature & Calm Come Together 🏛️🌿🕊️ It’s an experience that deserves an entire day to truly absorb. Spread across a huge, well maintained space, the place is spotlessly clean and beautifully organized, offering a calm escape right in the city. The museum itself is free to enter, while the adjoining zoo entry costs just ₹50, which also includes a locker facility for bags and even plastic bottles a thoughtful touch for keeping the space clean. The zoo is expansive, and right outside, a small café serves as the perfect refresher after a walk. What makes this venue special is the balance it offers: while the exhibits and zoo engage your curiosity, the grounds themselves invite you to slow down. There are plenty of shaded spots and tree-side seating areas, making it easy to pause, rest, or just take in the serene atmosphere. Despite the outside heat, the entire space feels naturally cooler, adding to the comfort. Whether you’re interested in history, looking to enjoy a day amidst nature, or simply searching for a peaceful retreat, Napier Museum is one of those rare places where you can do it all at once.

Napier Museum is a must visit destination in Trivandrum. It is well maintained and the building in itself is a work of art. The displays throughout the museum are quite interesting and will keep you intrigued throughout your visit. Taking videos isn’t allowed but you can happily pose for pictures and capture the history of the displays with your camera. All in all a great place to visit with your family and children.
Akanksha M — Google review
The Napier museum has several other prominent places to see like the zoo around the same area. The museum is housed in a unique building 🏫 with ample greenery surrounding the place. Excellent 👍 artifacts dorn the museum including a great collection of ivory pieces. Just outside is a collection of paintings along with a royal chariot. A canteen is also there with some good food just behind the hall with the paintings 🎨

The ticket price is 200 rupees for foreigners while it's only 30 rupees for local Indians, so it's almost 7 times more expensive than locals for me. But I decided to look around inside, and it's worthwhile visiting just one time while you are in Trivandrum. Most importantly, I have met so many beautiful locals who were so curious about me taking pictures together with them, what a memorable time mingling with genuinely welcoming Indian locals. Again it's a lovely wooden house containing lots of artifacts from thousands yrs ago or unknown periods etc, and interestingly I noticed they had some Indonesian artifacts too.
Pam F — Google review
Atmosphere is nice, nicely maintained garden. Inside is a bit old, some of the beam concrete have already fell down from the ceiling. You can look into the past there are some ancient artifacts. Also there's a dedicated staff to guide us through them. You can take photos but need permission to take videos!!! Idk weird, anyways spend some good time there, won't be disappointing.

Step into a captivating little room where history and artistry collide! This enchanting space is alive with stunning artwork that spans centuries, each piece a testament to the incredible skill and craftsmanship treasured by rulers of the past. If you have a passion for art, this is an absolute must-visit destination that promises to ignite your imagination and leave you in awe!

Napier Museum in Thiruvananthapuram is a beautiful place full of history and art. The architecture itself is stunning — a mix of Kerala and Gothic styles. The museum is surrounded by a peaceful green park, perfect for a walk after exploring. Inside, you can see traditional Indian sculptures, ancient ornaments, and rare archaeological pieces. A great spot to learn about Kerala’s rich culture and relax at the same time. Entrance fee is 200 rupees.
Alexandr — Google review
Napier Museum is a historic and beautiful landmark known for its unique Indo-Saracenic architecture and peaceful garden setting. It houses an impressive collection of ancient bronze and stone idols, ornaments, ivory carvings, and cultural artifacts. Located next to the Trivandrum Zoo, it’s affordable and easily accessible. However, some exhibits lack proper lighting, clear labeling, and maintenance. Facilities like restrooms and signboards could be improved, and it can get warm or crowded at times. Overall: A must-visit for art, culture, and history lovers — charming for its architecture and heritage, though slightly outdated in presentation.

This grand three-storey palace was built in 1934 by Maharajah Sree Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma as a wedding gift for his sister, reflecting both royalty and family pride . With over 150 rooms, it blends the simple elegance of Kerala architecture with hints of Dravidian influence and even touches of European design like tall steeples and a wooden lift . Set on a small hillock and surrounded by lush greenery, the building stands out in the city, its six towers visible from afar . It was built with respect to Vastu Shastra and oriented to welcome monsoon breezes, showing how practical design and beauty were both important . Inside, long corridors and high ceilings, carved wooden beams, and large halls hint at the royal gatherings and cultural events that took place here . Though visitors can’t enter, it still feels like walking through history. You can admire the elegant façade, spot the wood‑lift shaft, and imagine the palace in its heyday. Nearby gardens hold the king’s burial site, which adds quiet meaning to the place . The palace remains the private home of the Travancore royal family, especially the descendants of the Maharajah’s sister . Seeing it from the outside gives a sense of Kerala’s royal heritage, smart design, and how tradition and daily life once united here. If you drive or walk past, take time to slow down and notice the architecture, the breeze‑friendly layout, the historical importance, and the idea of home it conveys—even without entry, it leaves a memorable impression.

Thiruvananthapuram Zoo, one of India’s oldest (est. 1857), is a beautiful, green, and well-maintained place located in the city center near the Napier Museum. It has a good variety of animals including tigers, lions, elephants, reptiles, and birds. The surroundings are shaded and peaceful, making it pleasant for families and children. Entry is affordable, and electric carts are available for visitors. However, some enclosures are small, a few animals seem inactive, and the food stalls or cart services can be slow on crowded days. The zoo can get very busy on weekends and holidays, and animals are less active in the afternoon heat. Overall: A clean, scenic, and affordable place worth visiting—best enjoyed in the morning or evening when it’s cooler and less crowded.
ANANDHU S — Google review
Went on a weekday. No so much crowded, but yes it's a tourist place so there'll be crowd especially on Sundays. The ticket price google mentioned (200/-) is dfor foreigners and the ticket price for Indians is only 40(for adults). I only support zoo when they can provide better facilities for animals that they can't get them on forest. But I'm not sure about here, because most of the animals are always lay down like they don't have enough health, especially the lion, tiger & cheetah(pythons too). It seems they can barely walk. On the other hand the bear, deer, and hippos seems pretty healthy. So I'm not sure, maybe it's the time I went there. The main problem is you can't clearly see most of the birds, I'm not sure till why they don't use glasses for clear visibility rather than the small grill, that you can barely see them. The white tiger was a suprise and he/she/they/them whatever was actually stunning. Most of the cages were empty (I'm actually glad for that). A 20 min walk through a"made up jungle" is actually good. The staffs always clean the place but be careful of the tree branch. The snakes non of them are even moving, I'm not sure if they alive or not for some reason. Anyway yeah as I mentioned earlier if you can provide better facilities for animals yes it's a good initiative. Unless it's cruelty.

Thiruvananthapuram Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in India and a lovely place to visit. The park is clean, green, and well-maintained, with spacious enclosures for animals. You can see lions, tigers, crocodiles, and many exotic birds. It’s a peaceful escape in the city and a great spot to spend a few hours enjoying nature and wildlife. Perfect for families, couples, or solo travelers who love animals and quiet walks. Entrance is 200 rupees. I went to this zoo hoping to see an elephant, but there wasn't one there.
Alexandr — Google review
The zoo was decent but had a limited variety of animals. The deer and porcupine enclosures were quite crowded, making it hard to get a good view. Some of the reptiles were not present. The layout could be better managed for visitor flow. Kids still enjoyed spotting the few animals around. Overall, an average experience that could improve with better space and crowd management. The entry fee for family is ₹100.

Zoo is good. Enjoy for picnic or one day fun. Must visit nearby locations like palace and museum, located within one KM. Restaurant and washroom and and Shop available inside the campus and nearby. Easily available auto for this place or for go to outside. Greenery is superb and all three locations are fantastic for photoshoot. You can also enjoy fish aquarium located in this area.

Thiruvananthapuram Zoo is one of the oldest and most well-maintained zoos in India, offering a great mix of nature, wildlife, and greenery in the heart of the city. The enclosures are spacious and clean, housing a wide variety of animals, birds, and reptiles. It’s a pleasant experience for families, children, and nature enthusiasts alike. The zoo is spread across a large area, so be prepared for a good amount of walking. Pathways are shaded with trees, making it comfortable even on warmer days. The adjoining museum and botanical gardens add to the experience, making it a complete day outing. Entry fees are very reasonable, and online ticketing is also available. Parking is available but can get crowded on weekends. Security is decent, and food options are limited inside, so carrying water and light snacks is advisable.
Anish G — Google review
Best place to visit and can spend more time with kids. Provisions given inside the Zoo also super for resting after a long walk, drinking water and tea snack feasilities etc... Maintenance of Zoo fantastic. Completely enjoyed. Don't miss to see the snakes, which is located nearly end of the zoo, due to tired most of them skipped, that was really fantastic by keeping different kind of snakes. Note: POLYTHENE BAGS (PLASTIC BAGS) strictly not allowed inside the Zoo, even chocolates also, bags checked properly at the entrance. that was really appreciable thing to maintain. You can bring paper instead to carry all the snacks, for example you can bring lays by removing it's plastic cover and put it into the paper bag and even chocolates also. Clock room available near the entrance by paid basis with basic charge. Entrance fare: 40 Rs / head (Adult) 30 Rs / head (Toddler) Aquarium placed next to main entrance that is seperately charged, minimum fishes available it's okay. Mainly for kids.

Koyikkal Palace, a traditional 2-story Kerala palace dating back to 1677, is home to folklore and numismatics museums. The Keralam Museum has implemented modern techniques in refurbishing archaeological museums at various locations and played a pivotal role in establishing district heritage museums across the region. This historical site is one of the major tourist attractions in Thiruvananthapuram, offering visitors a glimpse into Kerala's rich cultural heritage.
Koyikkal Palace is a calm and beautiful place in Kerala. The palace is built in the traditional Kerala style with wooden walls and sloping roofs. Inside, there is a small museum that shows interesting items about the history and royal life of Kerala. The palace is surrounded by trees and nature, making it a peaceful place to visit. It’s a great spot for anyone interested in history or looking for a quiet place to relax.

Koyikkal Palace in Nedumangad is a peaceful place with serious old-world vibes. It’s not one of those massive royal palaces, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in charm and history. The building itself is this beautiful old Kerala-style structure with sloping tiled roofs and wooden beams—super traditional and photogenic. You can literally feel the history in the air. It was built way back in the 1600s. Inside, there are museums. The Folklore Museum has some really cool stuff like old musical instruments, traditional lamps, costumes, and even tools people used ages ago. On the ground floor is the coin museum, Ancient coins collections are there. The place isn’t crowded at all—perfect if you want a quiet, thoughtful afternoon. The gardens around the palace are also nice, and it’s a great spot if you’re into photography, culture, or just want a chill outing away from the usual city spots.

Koyikkal Palace in Nedumangadu is a beautiful historic spot that perfectly blends culture and architecture. The palace is well-maintained, and the museum inside is very informative, showcasing traditional Kerala artifacts, coins, and antiques. The calm and peaceful surroundings make it a great place to spend some quiet time while exploring history. A must-visit for anyone interested in Kerala’s heritage.
SABARINADH R — Google review
To be honest, I might’ve been a bit influenced by the stories and rumors, but I didn’t really find anything extraordinary about this palace. It mostly feels like a regular exhibition. If you’ve been to the Keralam History and Heritage Museum, the vibe is pretty similar — except the Keralam Museum has more stunning sculptures, cave paintings, and artistic displays. That said, Koyikkal Palace does have a few things that make it unique. I won’t spoil anything, but there are some interesting elements that are worth checking out. I still encourage everyone to visit it at least once. I went today, and I was the only visitor there 😅 — which actually made the experience even better. You can ask the staff more about the palace’s history or even the rumored stories connected to it — they’re usually happy to share. Entry is super affordable: just ₹30 for adults, ₹10 if you want to use your phone camera, and ₹150 extra if you’re planning to take videos or reels. So yeah, not mind-blowing, but peaceful, low-key interesting, and worth a visit if you're into heritage spots.

Koyikkal Kottaram is located on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram city, in a place called Nedumangadu. It’s a calm and peaceful destination, with the palace (kottaram) being well maintained and protected by the Kerala Police. The entry fee is ₹30 per adult. A guide will accompany visitors to explain and describe the various ancient artifacts and exhibits preserved inside the palace.

Located near the University of Kerala, this restaurant offers a unique 'Make your own meal' concept, allowing diners to customize their dining experience by choosing from a variety of starters, mains, and sides.
Had Mandi rice & Alfam (both chicken) at Zam Zam, Trivandrum-juicy, flavorful roast & rich taste. Friendly staff, even Hindi-speaking, in a clean, upscale space. Parking is tricky due to the crowd, but the food makes it worth it. Must visit in Trivandrum!

I recently tried the Alfaham Mandi from Zam Zam Restaurant and it was an amazing experience! I had always heard a lot about their popularity, so I was really excited to try it out. Honestly, the meal did not disappoint – the taste was delicious, the portion size was generous, and the quality was top-notch. What made it even better was their warm customer service; the staff greeted with a smile and made the experience more enjoyable. Truly a happy and satisfying meal! 🍗🍚
Aysha N — Google review
We tried the chicken biryani, ghee rice combo, parotta, and beef nadan fry. The beef nadan fry was the highlight… really tasty and well cooked! The rest of the dishes were quite average, and the chicken was a bit too dry in all of them. Service could definitely be better; they seemed in a hurry for guests to finish up. Ambience isn’t very comfortable, so more of a quick-eat place than one to sit and relax.

Yesterday, I visited Zam Zam Restaurant in Trivandrum with my wife and daughter, and it turned out to be such a memorable dining experience. The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable — perfect for a family dinner. We ordered their Honey Al Faham with Butter Naan, and it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was juicy, perfectly grilled, and the hint of honey gave it a rich, slightly sweet flavor that paired beautifully with the soft, buttery naan. Every bite felt flavorful and fresh. To top it off, we had Mint Lime – a refreshing drink that perfectly balanced the spices of the meal and left us feeling cool and satisfied. The service was quick, and the staff were friendly and attentive, which made the evening even better. The place was clean, welcoming, and had a nice family-friendly vibe. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience — tasty food, great ambiance, and lovely service. I’d definitely recommend Zam Zam to anyone looking for a perfect mix of flavor and comfort in Trivandrum! 🌿✨

Zam Zam Restaurant in Trivandrum is one of my favourite food spot, known for its delicious and quality food and the consistency in taste. While the food is definitely the highlight, the dining and parking spaces are somewhat limited, especially during peak hours. The restaurant can feel a bit cramped, and finding a parking spot nearby can be challenging. Despite these space constraints, Zam Zam remains a go-to destination for those who prioritize taste and quality. If you can manage the parking and don't mind a slightly tighter dining setup, the culinary experience is well worth it.
Roopesh K — Google review
During my trivandrum days I visited there often and recently I went there with my family ordered biriyani faloida and alfahm. The taste was fabulous nothing to be regret about but the quantity of rice in biriyani was less. They have given 2 pieces and egg but the rice was only small in quantity. We would have to wait for sometime to get seated Eventhough there are some veg option I would not recommend vegies. Atmosphere is bit crowded

Palayam Zam Zam Restaurant at Palayam is a great spot for delicious food with consistently good taste and quality. The customer service is excellent, and the staff are friendly and attentive. However, they have introduced a valet parking service, which makes things much more convenient for customers.

Kuthira Maliga Palace Museum, located in Thiruvananthapuram District, Kerala, is a historical treasure trove showcasing art, artifacts, and royal collections. The palace's unique architectural design features 122 wooden horses on its exterior walls and horse face-shaped roof beams. It is part of a complex near the Padmanabhaswamy Temple and was built by Maharaja Swathi Balarama Varma.
The concept of a 'Museum' gains significant value when the treasured heirloom artifacts of a Royal Family are exhibited within their original palace! The atmosphere is exceptional, amplifying the visual appeal of each display. Participating in a guided tour proves to be more fulfilling than exploring independently, as there is a wealth of history and interesting facts associated with each item. It typically requires over an hour and a half to thoroughly appreciate every artifact, but the experience is undoubtedly worthwhile. The visit was captivating. The palace, constructed by Maharaja Swathi Thirunal, provides an in-depth exploration of Kerala’s historical and cultural landscape. The wooden architecture, elaborate carvings, and particularly the distinctive horse motifs (which lend the palace its name) are breathtaking. Strolling through the palace felt akin to traveling back in time, with exquisite artifacts, paintings, and royal memorabilia offering insights into the life of the Travancore royal family. The guides were well-informed and contributed essential context to the exhibits, rendering the tour both educational and engaging. Although photography is prohibited, which may disappoint some visitors, it serves to protect the artifacts. In summary, Kuthiramalika is an essential destination for those passionate about history and architecture. Puthen Malika Palace, also referred to as Puthen Malika Museum, is an essential site to visit in Thiruvananthapuram! This magnificent palace, erected in the 19th century, exemplifies the stunning architecture of Kerala and its rich royal heritage. The intricate wooden carvings and beautiful murals are visually captivating. Every corner narrates a story, and one can truly appreciate the craftsmanship that went into its creation.

A must-visit for anyone drawn to heritage, art, and regal charm.

Th only thing you will like is the palace architecture.. there is an entry fee fo adults and even a mobile phone and camera. The palace is empty from inside, the rooms are empty without any artifacts except for some old furniture and 10 odd paintings.. the worst part is that management expects visitors to remove their footwear outside at the entry gate and no arrangement are made for their comfort.. the floor is very hot and my kids for skin burns.. request to management, you are taking a user convenience fee, pls think about visitors comfort.

If you love to hear out the history come here. Worth visiting spot don't come if there is no time to spend .A guide will be there for a group which is included with the ticket which i think is a Star..
NP — Google review
The place does have some valuables on display, but charging ₹500 for entry feels excessive. It’s not as though the items are one-of-a-kind treasures; they are simply a collection of things. The explanation given for such high charges was quite skillful, but honestly, it turned out to be very disappointing after going inside. Hearing claims like *“the valuables cost crores”* doesn’t justify the price of admission.
Rocksy J — Google review
I visited there on weekday. Less crowded than usual, and it kept really need clean. Staffs and helpful, they kept the place beautiful with grass and plants. Guide available and they'll tell you about everything. The ticket cost 70/- and with chithralayam ticket it's 100. Old sculptures, guns, decorative items and things used in the palace iss kept here. Some of them is over 1000 years old and it's really exciting to visit to such a place. Overall enjoyed a lot. The inside photography cost 500 and I think that's reasonable, if all the items is real!! And I don't understand why 50 rupees for outside photography. Because you can click photos without a ticket, there's no one there to question it or asking ticket for photography outside. So I think that's not necessary at all. Overall a good experience. You can visit there sometime while visiting sreepadmanabha swmy temple, it situated nearly, especially if you're an history buff.

Kanakakkunnu Palace, situated in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is a splendid old royal palace that boasts a luxurious interior and lush grounds. It was once a prominent hub of the ancient Travancore kingdom and served as an entertaining ground for royal guests. Built in the 19th century by Sree Moolam Thirunal, it features Colonial architecture with typical Kerala style facade.
It's very calm and peaceful, although it is right in the heart of the city. A good place to be alone or with family or friends. I don't think the palace itself is accessible to visitors. But the area surrounding the palace is vast with lot of seats under shady trees. Best time to visit would be mornings and evenings. The famous Nishagandhi Auditorium is right next to the palace..,..

This is a great place to vibe and chill with family friends or even alone. The atmosphere is really relaxing and peaceful, perfect for a calm evening out. There are some functions that happen here occasionally, which adds to the lively feel. You can walk around, sit and rest in quiet spots, or just enjoy the greenery and open space. There’s also a restaurant where you can grab something to eat and refresh yourself. A perfect spot to take a break from the busy city and spend time relaxing or hanging out.

Kanakakunnu Palace grounds are truly refreshing for a morning walk. The entire area is beautifully maintained with clean walking paths, lush greenery, and fresh air. You can see many walkers, joggers, and families enjoying the serene atmosphere early in the morning. The palace premises have ample space to walk peacefully without crowding, and the natural surroundings with tall trees, flowering plants, and chirping birds create a calm and energetic start to the day. There are benches to rest and shaded areas if you want to sit for a while and relax. One of the best places in Trivandrum city to connect with nature, refresh your mind, and begin your day positively. Highly recommended for morning walkers, yoga practitioners, or anyone who loves a calm outdoor space within the city.

A historic palace in Thiruvananthapuram, built during the Travancore era, now serves as a cultural venue with notable architecture and India's first digital garden. Kanakakkunnu Palace, located in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram, is not only an architectural marvel but also a vibrant cultural hub. The palace, perched on a hillock, was believed to have been built during the 19th century under the reign of the erstwhile king of Travancore, Sri Moolam Thirunal. Originally constructed to serve as a guest house, this red-bricked structure with white stone dressings is a fine example of Kerala-Gothic Victorian-era architecture. The palace's design is both elegant and functional, featuring a dignified neoclassical entrance portico and a circular hall adorned with magnificent crystal chandeliers and exquisite pieces of royal furniture. The surrounding grounds are equally captivating, with meadows, groves, and flowering shrubs creating a serene atmosphere. The palace is also home to India's first digital garden, where visitors can scan QR codes to learn about the various plants, including their botanical names, species, nativity, and distribution. Today, the palace serves as a popular venue for a multitude of cultural events, seminars, and programs. Its close proximity to other important tourist sites, such as the Napier Museum and Trivandrum Zoo, makes it an integral part of the city's daily life. The palace grounds include two auditoriums—the Nishagandhi Auditorium, an open-air venue, and the Sooryakanthi Auditorium. The palace premises come alive during the all-India dance festival organized by the Department of Tourism, which runs from October to March. This festival attracts visitors from across the country who come to witness mesmerizing classical performances. Kanakakkunnu Palace is also a popular meeting point for locals who enjoy its pleasant environment. In the evenings, the palace grounds buzz with activity as families and friends gather to unwind after a busy day. With its unique blend of architectural beauty and cultural significance, Kanakakkunnu Palace remains a cherished landmark in Thiruvananthapuram, continuing to play a central role in the city's cultural and social life.

Recently, I had the pleasure of using Taxitel for an extensive four-day journey that took me through Trivandrum, Varkala, Jadayu, Kollam, and Kanyakumari.
I used Taxitel’s wedding car service for my cousin’s wedding and got a charming Jaguar at a reasonable price. The car was perfect, and the driver, Amal, was exceptionally friendly. Based on my experience, I can confidently say that Taxitel is the best taxi service in Trivandrum. Wishing them the best of luck!

I recently used this taxi service, and I’m thoroughly impressed! From the moment I booked until I reached my destination, everything was smooth and hassle-free. It was a package for 4 days to visit Trivandrum, Varkala, Jadayu , Kollam & Kanyakumari. The driver Mr Shajahan waited us in Airport and he made us feel that we are at home, the car was clean and comfortable, and the entire trip was very pleasant. Thanks Taxitel and Shajahan! What stood out the most was the professionalism of Mr Shajahan. He was polite, friendly, and knowledgeable about places that visited, which helped us to explore them effectively and made it as a best experience. The pricing was fair, and there were no hidden charges, which I really appreciated. I highly recommend this taxi service to anyone looking for a reliable and comfortable ride. They are the best taxi service provider in Trivandurm and I’ll definitely use them again in the future!

Had a great experience using Taxitel as the driver, amal, who accompanied me on the journey 10day from trivandrum airport, passing by Munnar, kumily ,kodaikanal ,rameswaram, kanyakumari and kovalam He made sure everything went smoothly and his expertise of the local areas made sure I didn't have to worry about anything. From recommending shops, restaurants and even dry cleaner, all were nice recommendations. Especially for eating as that it is tricky to know where to go....special thanks for travels owner Shiras

We had Urbenia car from this agency. It’s very good car . Our driver Akhildev AP was very good in driving with lots of local knowledge. He is very good young driver whom highly recommend for Kerala tour.

Worst experience from the owner Shiras...Not professional at all...Booked a vehicle for travel to Ktm...The staff & owner has attitude problem...Seems like we are owning something from them. Never had this kind of experience in my life. 🛑STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED TO ANY ONE...Wasted my precious time.

Sanghumukham Beach Walking Street, situated in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is a popular spot for both locals and tourists. It's about 4-5 km from Chalai and offers a bustling atmosphere with plenty of visitors and vendors during the evenings.
It consists of many childhood memories. But now no beach is there. Sea is there till the road..bit dangerous
Ashik M — Google review
Good beach, but could be cleaner. There are bus services available all the time. Lots of shops and eateries nearby. There is also a park near the entrance where people can sit and relax & also playground for children. Gets crowded during weekends.

🏖️Serene strolls await at Shanghumukham Beach. Feel the soft sand, hear the gentle waves, and witness breathtaking sunsets🌄 The iconic mermaid statue adds a unique charm. ✨ Slightly crowded on weekends especially hard to find car parking..A perfect escape for a peaceful walk by the Arabian Sea✨
Franky J — Google review
This is a good place to spend evenings. Evenings are quite busy with lots of visitors as well as vendors. For refreshments, plenty of snackshops are available, though I prefer Old Coffee House on the beach. The 'Mathsyakanyaka' statue by Kanayi Kunjiraman, centuries old 'Kalmandapams', toy train, horse riding, etc, are major attractions. Lots of parking spaces are available. It would have been better if the beach had been kept a little more neat by the visitors.

Shanghumugham Beach has always had a special charm with its vast shoreline, iconic sculptures, and the nostalgic feel it brings. It’s a great place to watch the sunset and relax by the sea, especially if you're looking for a peaceful break from city life. The presence of the large Matsya Kanyaka sculpture and the open spaces make it unique and culturally significant. However, the beach could definitely use better maintenance. In recent visits, I noticed litter in some areas and parts of the walkway in need of repair. The once vibrant atmosphere feels a bit neglected now. With some cleanup and restoration efforts, it could easily regain its former glory. Overall, it’s worth visiting for the view and ambiance—but don’t go expecting a pristine tourist spot just yet.

The place feels safe and open, and it’s perfect if you want to clear your mind or take a break from city noise. Sometimes there are small stalls with snacks like roasted peanuts and mango slices. Overall, it's a lovely spot to unwind and feel close to nature.

Perfect place for relaxing , attend meeting and have fun
Michael A — Google review
It is a calm and peaceful place, perfect for a relaxing visit. It’s close to the airport and easy to reach from the city. The beach is known for its long stretch of sand and beautiful sunsets. One of the main attractions is the large mermaid statue (Sagarakanyaka), which is great for taking photos. In the evenings, many locals come here for walks and to enjoy the sea breeze. There are a few food stalls nearby where you can buy snacks and fresh coconut water. The beach is also used for some cultural and religious events, especially during festivals like Arattu. However, sometimes the beach can be a bit crowded or not very clean. Swimming is not always safe due to strong waves. Still, it’s a nice spot to relax, watch the sunset, and spend time with family or friends. Overall, Shangumugham Beach is a good place to visit if you are in Trivandrum and want to enjoy the natural beauty of the sea.
