The Koala Conservation Hospital Port Macquarie is a small rehabilitation center that offers tours to the public. Visitors can meet adorable koalas and learn about their care and preservation for free. The hospital also has a gift shop and offers a Feed, Walk, and Talk tour every afternoon at 3:00 pm.
I recommend going early when the koalas are still active and having their mealtime. It was heartwarming to see how the unwell or injured koalas were cared for. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the volunteers were doing an amazing job. During our visit, there were four joeys, and it was wonderful to see them all. Evans, an injured koala on a special diet, was a delight to watch as he enjoyed his meal. The educational section was also excellent, providing interesting koala facts and valuable knowledge.

The Koala Hospital is currently operating from Guulabaa on Burrawan Forest Drive while they redevelop the site in town. It is such a great facility and so wonderful to see the koalas up in their trees. Great picnic spot outside.
Debbie A — Google review
Such a wonderful experience! The family enjoyed it. Good to see we have hospitals for these beautiful animals. They even have a store with cute items to buy. They also have a heritage onsite with cafe with memorabilia. Highly recommended!
Frank B — Google review
What a wonderful place for rescued Koalas. When you visit in the morning when the Koalas get food they are awake. Since September 2024 the hospital needs to charge an entry fee because people weren’t donating enough. An adult pays 12,50$ to treat the sick Koalas. We loved the visit and only met very kind volunteers.
Jules S — Google review
An amazing experience! We gained fascinating insights into the organization’s work at the Koala Hospital. The dedicated volunteers were incredibly knowledgeable and happy to answer all our questions. We were lucky to spot a few koalas, but it’s clear that the focus here is not on showcasing the animals for tourism but on their protection and care—huge respect for that! The hospital will be closing soon, but there is a koala breeding center on the other side of the city, run by the same organization. We were encouraged to visit for more valuable insights. I highly recommend a visit—thank you for your incredible work, and keep it up!
Brian M — Google review
We visited the hospital with the family on a thursday morning. The best option is to go early, as they get food in between 8.30 and 9.00. They also get food in the evening. We didn’t book a tour guide but Maz was around and gave alot of information. We could ask all and any questions about the koalas and their way of life. It’s great to support the hospital as they so take care of them with care. Would recommend a visit!
Grace H — Google review
Such a beautiful place and a wonderful thing these guys are doing for our Koalas. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the koalas and learnt so much. My two boys had a great time
The H — Google review
Good initiative! There really wasn’t that much to do here though for those who have seen koalas before and been to other conservation parks. There were 5 koalas to see and a sign of how they were found. All up 10 min visit.

Sea Acres Rainforest Centre is a waterfront park that offers an elevated rainforest walkway, guided tours, and a cafe. It also features other attractions such as the Bush-Tucker tour with a small entry fee. Additionally, visitors can enjoy activities like golf, indoor bowling, swimming, cycling, and running on a triathlon course in the surrounding area. For water sports enthusiasts, there's the option to water-ski or jet-ski at Stoney Park Watersports and Recreation Centre.
I recently went on a rainforest walking trip and it was absolutely breathtaking. The forest impresses with its sheer power and ancient beauty — you can truly feel the timeless energy of nature all around you. The walking trail itself was stunning, winding through lush greenery and showcasing so many fascinating plants along the way. The atmosphere was incredible: peaceful, majestic, and full of life. It’s an unforgettable experience that reconnects you with the raw beauty of the natural world. Highly recommend!
Ekaterina B — Google review
a breathtaking coastal gem. The elevated boardwalk immerses you in lush greenery and diverse wildlife, offering a peaceful, educational experience. Perfect for families, nature lovers, and photographers, it’s a serene escape that highlights Australia’s unique rainforest beauty.
Sejal S — Google review
Beautiful rainforest walk, very well designed and about a bit more than 1 km long. We didn’t see many animals, but the nature and atmosphere made it a lovely experience. After the walk, we stopped at the café which was excellent – great food and drinks! We had a cappuccino and bacon with eggs, both super tasty and freshly made. Definitely worth a visit for a peaceful walk and a relaxing coffee break
Marco S — Google review
Lovely staff, all super friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend to spend some time at the bar and immerse yourself while grabbing a bite/drink. There are several tour options, although you can also purchase the boardwalk alone. In July there are some aboriginal tours going on - photo enclosed. They also sell plants if you want to bring a vivid memory back home and grow it fondly 🌱 Recommended!

Place itself was great. Cute gift-shop, a lot of things to choose from. We saw a few families really enjoying their time there, so perfect with kids. Since we have traveled a lot, it’s not a must see view. Good, but not a must see place.
Viktoria P — Google review
Fantastic Rainforest tree walk on a walkway through the forest with interesting information along the way about the various trees and plants and their uses. We were lucky enough to see a goanna. Great information centre and souvenirs, Cafe was excellent. Definitely worth a visit.
John C — Google review
We visited Sea Acres Rainforest centre and did the board walk today and it was magical! We were told at reception where we would see a Powerful Owl, and then spotted it perched on a tree branch which was amazing to see, definitely would not have seen this if we weren’t for the help! The walk is beautiful at every point and the trees were breathtaking! We also met Graham, who is a volunteer at the centre, and asked us if we had any questions about the place, we asked about the fig trees and he had all the facts, we learnt so much! He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable so special thanks to Graham! I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Nice quiet board walk to be enjoyed whilst taking in the vast rainforest. We were lucky to see an Owl chick. Friendly and helpful staff.

Tacking Point Lighthouse, a charming white cement structure with a keeper's cottage, was constructed in 1879 on a rugged headland. The area offers various activities such as dolphin watching, visiting the Koala Hospital, exploring hidden rock pools and rainforest boardwalks, and admiring the tallest waterfall in NSW.
This lookout offers absolutely stunning views! If you’re anywhere near the area, you can’t miss it. It’s the perfect spot to take in the landscape, snap a few photos, and just enjoy the moment. Great place to stop and take a break – totally worth it!

Second light house on my visit to Australia. Port Macquarie is a nice place with several areas to go and see the sites as well as sit and relax. This one was easy to find parking and casual stroll about. It is winter in Australia at this time so it can be a bit cool and breezy so keep that in mind if visiting (although during the day while the sun is out, it's not that bad)
Gaagle P — Google review
We stopped here 2yrs ago and the upgrades they have made are A+! The elevated board walk is magic, the extra seating is a great addition and the anchored binoculars are a wonderful idea (they could have been a little taller and there could have been a set on every observation deck). Beautifully restored and maintained. We got to see some whales in the distance and the binoculars definitely helped!
Bernice M — Google review
Such a lovely view of the sea. From the top of the cliff, this small light house section gives you a panoramic view of the sea. Both sides of the sea stretching across kilometres. A must visit point to sometime in the area !
Mohit M — Google review
Whether you drive straight to Tacking Point Lighthouse or take the 3 hour coastal walk from Port Macquarie, the views here are stunning. The lighthouse is automated these days with LED lights though that does not take away from the nostalgia and history. There are many placards that detail the history and sights. During certain times of the year, you can see whales migrating up and down the coast. If you want to can walk down to lighthouse beach or have a picnic on the grounds.
Soniqbuoy — Google review
Fantastic views from the top where the light house is situated with the ocean braking over the rock formations, the beach is awesome Getting to the top of the Lighthouse requires climbing some steps. There is some car parking at the top and bottom of the Lighthouse. Well worth a visit
John C — Google review
Super views and great hike along the coast. The beach looked very inviting if that is on your card.

Had such wonderful experience at tacking point! First time there and we will definitely be going back, so peaceful, I just wish we saw some whales or dolphins but maybe next time

Lighthouse Beach, located seven kilometers south of Port Macquarie, is a nine-kilometer stretch of sandy shoreline that attracts surfers, swimmers, and leisurely strollers. Visitors can take camel rides along the beach or visit the local Koala Hospital for a free tour to learn about the care of sick and injured koalas. Nature enthusiasts can explore Boorganna Nature Reserve and its steep track leading to Rawson Falls for a secluded waterfall swim.
There are so many nice beaches is Australia- Lighthouse Beach is no exception. Long stretch of beach with nice views - some hiking trails nearby to get a bird eye view of the beach. There’s an area with colourful pebbles and fishes - really relaxing.

Really nice and calm beach! We got so lucky and spotted at least 10 whales while we were there from the lighthouse. It was really special to see ❤️
Nicky B — Google review
Lighthouse Beach: Where the Coast Whispers Stories Just seven kilometres south of Port Macquarie lies Lighthouse Beach— a sweeping ribbon of golden sand stretching nine kilometres to Lake Cathie, where the ocean dances with the shore in an endless rhythm of salt and breeze. Beloved by surfers, this beach thrives on the energy of the sea, catching every swell, offering short, powerful rides for those who know the waves well. Sheltered from the summer’s north-easterly winds, it’s a playground for seasoned boards and spirited hearts. But this place is more than surf. It invites you to wander—barefoot and unhurried— on long sunlit walks where time drifts like foam on the tide. Or saddle up for a camel safari, cast a line into the surf, or roll gently along the sand at the southern end with 4WD access. During school holidays, the northern tip—near the surf club and café— is watched over by lifeguards, so families can play in peace under the watchful eye of the red and yellow. Above it all stands the historic Tacking Point Lighthouse, built in 1879, the final jewel in the coastal crown that is the scenic walk. From its viewing platform, the coastline unfolds like a painted scroll— and from May to November, you might spot whales carving silver trails across the deep. And south of Watonga Rocks, the beach becomes a joyful haven for your four-legged companions— a stretch of sand where leashes are unneeded and tails chase the wind. Just keep an eye on the signs, and let freedom run beside you.
Swetanshu S — Google review
Dog friendly section south of the rocks. Beautiful outlook. Yesterday we stood watching humpback whales play out in the ocean as they migrate north. An osprey hovered over the sandbank. Just a gorgeous beach!
Deb H — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous beach with lots of beach for dogs to run on. Beach for dogs starts on the south side of the rocks. My dog was in heaven.
Lisa B — Google review
Very clean nice beach worth the visit. We spent some time here during our road trip stopover in Port Macquarie. The weather wasn't the best during that time but we still had a good time.
Malay A — Google review
Such a beautiful beach and dog friendly and can drive four wheel to the beach. It is an amazing place to get camel ride as well.
Xia Z — Google review
This is a beautiful walk if you park at lighthouse surf Club & they have a wonderful little cafe that opens I think till 1:00 p.m. Toilets and showers with plenty of car parking. It's a patrolled Beach and you don't seem to be crowded whatsoever. Beautiful sunsets looking down to Bonnie Hills. Well worth fuelling up at the cafe and then taking that nice big walk for a few kilometres up and back. Btw, if you sit On the chairs overlooking the beach you might get lucky to see a few whales. Definitely not uncommon to see so many, especially off lighthouse Headland itself.

Port Macquarie Museum is a historical venue that offers themed displays depicting the area's life, starting with early European settlers. The museum is one of the top historic sites in the area, showcasing the region's history and cultural heritage.
What an amazing place to visit. You can spend whole day and peek back in time. Run by volunteers and what a lovely welcome by ladies at the front desk with great knowledge and beautiful smiles. Must visit while u in port
Yujan S — Google review
It's quite a small but compact and informative museum. I was quite amazed by the size of the museum that allows them to be able to display so much informative stuff, educating the public on their history of Port Macquarie. The tickets are at $5 for adult and it's totally worth the time to drop by and visit them if you are in Port Macquarie.
Tan T — Google review
Very helpful volunteers. I was looking for ancestor details. The museum itself is bigger than it looks but pretty typical of those you see in many country towns where people have lovingly curated the collections. Worth a visit and the entrance fee.
Colin A — Google review
The museum is set out so you would not miss any display as you walk around
Helena C — Google review
Our family was greeted with friendly and informative staff. This place is perfect for all ages. You could easily spend 1 to 2 hours here. They have I-Spy game, colouring and Lego table for the little ones. Beautiful displays. Conveniently located at the city centre. Great discovery and learning experience on Port Macquarie.
Clare W — Google review
The best local small history museums in NSW, the ladies are very lovely. The place is well presented, they are supporting the senior people around the area. Actually you can access it for free if you have a senior card. For adults $5. Port Macquarie is the third city for settlers around 1821, the house was built around 1831 and 1835. It is located on one of the major roads. It was a very enjoyable place for a family trip in Port Macquarie.
Jannette W — Google review
An informative museum of the history of the region from convict days to today. I didn’t know anything about the region before visiting and came out feeling informed enough to appreciate the remainder of my visit in Port Macquarie. Who knew that public private healthcare partnerships were trialled here…. you will after visiting this museum. Only costs $5 for adults to enter so give it a go for an informative history lesson.
Carl H — Google review
We were impressed. This museum looks small from outside but very large and plenty to see inside! We learnt a lot about the history of early settlement and their life. Very interesting. We had a family ticket for $15, which was not expected as we expected to pay for adults and children separately. The ladies at the front look like volunteers, they were very welcoming and friendly. There are many free onstreet parking, but was very busy as we went during public holiday. Strongly recommended to visit when you are at Port Macquarie.

The Port Macquarie Coastal Walk is a 9.1 km scenic trail that starts at Westport Park and takes you through Town Green, the breakwater, Town Beach, Flagstaff Hill, and Tacking Point Lighthouse. The walk offers stunning views of the coastline and historical sites such as Nobbys Beach and Harrys lookout. You can also join guided tours or explore galleries and art studios along the way.
Nice to walk before sunset. All the rock paintings along the walkway, and also water birds. If lucky, you might see some fish jump out of the water.
Zhijia L — Google review
The most wonderful scenic coastal walk because basically you don’t have to go out onto a street at all for the entire walk. Just make sure you pick low tide as there are a couple of spots that would be covered in water if you picked the wrong time. The views are wonderful. The tracks are well marked And the views that you get when you reach the Lighthouse are brilliant. Approximately 9km one way. A variety of steps and inclines and scrambling over rocks so unfortunately if you have a disability it could be rather awkward or if you are of a very low fitness level. I absolutely loved the walk.
Elizabeth A — Google review
Beautiful area to walk, did some of the beach walks as well, loved it.
Hayley K — Google review
This is such a stunning walk that takes in some great views along the coastline. Part of the walk includes the colourful rock murals along the water.
Donald E — Google review
One of my favourite walks ever. If you start at the lighthouse, you can finish with a coffee in town at the end. If you start in town, you’ve got the beautiful beach walk near the lighthouse for the end.
Georgia D — Google review
Full of Natural Beauty and stunning coastal walk. Port Macquarie offers you a range of stunning views and beautiful scenery and you may be able to enjoy the delicious foods while you plan your visit. The place is good for couple of days stay where you can find some great historical sites and also best place for the sea food lovers .
Subas S — Google review
While visiting Australia to see relatives, we took a walk along the coast. Several painted rocks along the walk to add to the views.
Gaagle P — Google review
I did the first part of the coastal walk this morning, the part that meanders along the Hastings River. This part of the walk is flat and right in the middle of town, so very popular with walkers, dogs and cyclists and therefore on a nice day can be quite busy. But with good reason! A great way to get your morning steps in!

Roto House Historic Site, located in the Macquarie Nature Reserve, is an 11-room weatherboard house built in 1890 for land surveyor John Flynn. It stands as one of the few remaining 19th-century buildings in Port Macquarie and offers a glimpse into affluent early life in the area. The well-preserved late Victorian Georgian home is surrounded by picturesque bushland and features local red mahogany construction, a picket fence, and veranda.

Centre of Gravity Indoor Adventure Centre is a fantastic destination for thrill-seekers of all ages, offering an exciting mix of rock climbing and bouldering experiences suitable for everyone from toddlers to adults. For those who prefer staying grounded, the centre features an exhilarating Laser Tag arena where participants don high-tech laser vests and navigate through a two-story labyrinth filled with fog, music, and dynamic lighting effects.
Lara and her team are amazing. We have 2 children who have joined weekly gravity club. Both absolutely love it and can't wait for Tueadays to come around. The team is really encouraging and therefore we have seen a massive improvement in their climbing ability but more importantly in their confidence.

Great mix of action, strategy, and laughs! The whole experience was safe, professional, and most importantly, so much fun.

Great place to spend some time with the kids either lazer tag or climbing. Very humble place which might do with a refresh of paint but good overall.

I'm sure it would be a half decent gym. But, I went to do some bouldering to keep my training whilst away. The guy out the front said the bouldering was closed. One star for not having any online information about bouldering closure. I could have gone elsewhere yet i waited around till 12pm for you to open. It kinda messes my day up.
T. E — Google review
I've been to a few indoor rock climbing locations and so far this is my favorite. There are just so many options for climbing from beginner to advanced. We had a group of 20 and the was probably another 20 or so people and not once did it feel over crowded. The boulder course was really good also with heaps of soft padding. I feel from a reasonable height and didnt even feel it. The laser tag was great also. Really great course and had the group enjoying every minute. We had a number of young kids. Between the ages of 4 and 12 and they all had a blast and the three 2 year olds were quite happy running around watching all the action. All in all cant wait till our next holiday to visit again. Thank you for a great day.

I had such a fun time climbing there! I went by myself and immediately met people to climb with. There is also a boulder area! Town Beach, located within walking distance from the town center of Port Macquarie, is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. This 600m arc stretches from the southern breakwall of the Hastings River mouth to Flagstaff Lookout and is surrounded by a park where families picnic, teenagers skateboard, and yoga enthusiasts gather for free group classes on weekends. The breakwall also attracts surfers and bodyboarders with its great swell.
The Guardians: The scene is dominated by a stand of tall, straight Norfolk Island Pines (Araucaria heterophylla). The two pines framing the foreground are particularly striking—their silhouettes are almost skeletal against the sky, while the smaller ones in the background offer a fuller, tiered canopy. These trees are the defining visual feature, imparting a sense of tropical grandeur and verticality. The Landscape: Below, the park is meticulously maintained, featuring a rich, vibrant green lawn contrasted by a clean, light-colored pathway. The combination of the deep green grass and the soaring pines creates a wonderfully calm and expansive feeling. The Amenities: The beauty here is also found in its function as a community space. A covered picnic or BBQ area sits centrally, inviting relaxation and gathering. It's a place perfectly designed for a family day out, where the harsh sun is tamed by the shade of the pines and the sky is a painterly mix of soft grey and hints of blue. In short, it's a beautiful intersection of wild natural form (the towering trees) and thoughtful public design (the lawn and amenities), all under a lovely, diffused light. Given that this scene is very characteristic of towns along the New South Wales coast (like Port Macquarie, where it appears I am located now, or Manly), would you like me to use my location knowledge to suggest what specific local coastal feature might be visible in the distance?

Great beach and is patrolled. There are lots of parking with great views. The only thing about this beach is there are hidden rocks in the water which hurts when you are on it.

The views are lovely from the beach or from one of the lookouts set on a higher ground. It's a nice spot for a short walk on the beach and meditation. Surfers seemed to enjoy the waves.

Parked in the centre and funnily enough crossed a camping to walk along the water to see all the lovely painted boulders. Surfers were out. A must see if you are in port macquaire.

One of the best beaches I've ever been too. It has everything from surf to walking tracks to the breakwall to picnic areas. Even at night Town Beach is amazing. It's right in the heart of Port. Take walks from Town Beach to either Town Green or Flynns Beach you won't be disappointed.

Sunsets on this area has never been a failure, sometimes yes, it wont comeout but went it does, its spectacular. There's really not much place to do in port but if you like nature. You'll find this place a nice spot for a walk waiting for sunset or coming up to see how the sun rises.

NRMA Port Macquarie Breakwall Holiday Park is a simple resort located near the beach, offering basic cabins with kitchenettes and a pool. The area around the holiday park offers plenty of activities, from enjoying the coastal walk to watching dolphins in the Hastings River while having fish and chips. Visitors can also explore the Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail featuring over 75 koala sculptures designed by Australian artists.
Perfect spot to explore Port Macquarie, we stayed in a clean studio cabin which had all the amenities we needed including a comfy bed and fridge. It was a very easy check-in and check-out process too. Would definitely recommend!

Packed in like sardines- glad we weren’t there when it was full. Glad we were there an only a quick nightly stop over. Shower/toilets clean. Very open to anyone as there aren’t fences along the break wall. Lock everything up. Nice and close to town. Unfortunately for us, it wasn’t our ideal park.
Melinda G — Google review
We stayed in the Caravan Park, which is very large and was well supported, as there park was very full. The sites are of generous proportions, although the roads are narrow, in places. The amenities were clean and modern and easily coped with the high volume of campers. We will come back again.
Bruce H — Google review
This was, without question, the single worst pool experience imaginable — a true disaster zone masquerading as a swimming facility. The chlorine smell was so intense it felt like standing in a vat of chemicals; my eyes were stinging, my throat was raw, and I could practically taste bleach in the air. The water was cloudy and filthy, filled with floating hair, plasters, and other unidentifiable objects that made it look more like a swamp than a pool. The pool area itself was appalling. The tiles were slimy and treacherously slippery, the air was thick and humid with a sour, moldy stench, and the walls and ceiling were stained with what looked like years of neglect. I honestly thought parts of the ceiling might collapse. The changing rooms were disgusting too — puddles of murky water across the floor, showers that reeked of rot, and an overall feeling that the entire place was breeding bacteria by the second. Noise levels were unbearable, with machinery clanging constantly over the deafening echo of screams. The pool area was scattered with trash, soggy towels, and even insects crawling near the benches. At one point, I thought I saw something moving in the water that definitely wasn’t human. The only redeeming quality was the kindness of the staff, who remained patient and welcoming despite clearly working in conditions that could only be described as hazardous. Their friendliness was commendable, but it did nothing to disguise the reality: this facility should be condemned, not open to the public.

Had a perfect stay in Studio cabin 3. Fully decked out with kitchenette, small seating area, verandah with outdoor setting, soft towels and spotless in every way. Staff at booking and check in were great fun ( they were actual people ) and made my stay enjoyable. Yes I’d go back.
Terry R — Google review
Stayed at the powered site for 2 nights, the park is in a great location but it is very packed and tight! Amenities are ok, but barely any pressure in shower and water variates temperature as your showering! Gutters are ridiculous, put some grates over them, I'm sure you make enough money to do that. Along with the bins being far away, at least have some near the BBQ. And why is there only 1 camp kitchen? It's a very large holiday park and feel that it is ridiculous to expect campers to walk so far with supplies to make a meal! Also I was near the sewage dump point and the smell was disgusting. In future I would much prefer to stay at another holiday park that isn't so commercial.
Zzipe C — Google review
Stayed in a cabin for 3 nights, cabin was clean with a comfy bed, the bathroom was a little small but was still find for our needs. Park has good facilities and is close enough to town to walk. Overall a great stay.
Phil B — Google review
Great cabins to staying virtually new great king bed, loverly shower. Booked one night then went back another night. Price went up by $10 from 150 to 160. About an hour later got a text with an offer for the date of the extra night for $30 less. But was told at reception that they could not give us the discount. Also told me if a person come and were to wait it probably won't come along. So to me the offer is a waist of time Was told that a lady took the offer given here but missed out because somebody else booked before they accepted the offer.Very disappointing and quite frustrating. Without that mayhem our visit would have been totally wonderful.

Hydro Golf and Putt Putt, located just a short distance from the heart of Port Macquarie, offers an all-weather golfing experience suitable for all ages and skill levels. The facility features a picturesque water setting with floating targets offering various prizes, including a jackpot target for cash rewards. The well-maintained mini-golf course provides an enjoyable blend of challenges amidst scenic surroundings, making it perfect for families and avid golfers alike.
We had 6 adults and 4 children in our group. Lovely staff member who was professional, friendly and helpful. Asked all the right questions to assess if we were there for the first time and gave us appropriate instructions and information based on our skill levels. Lovely grassed area in the shade between the Hydro Golf and Putt Putt with a picnic table. Toilet facilities are a short walk and are locked with key, simply collect from staff member. Cold drinks and some snacks available. Very clean and well maintained facility. Really great that there is so much shade at both the Hydro Golf and Putt Putt. Lots of seating to rest or watch others play. Would definitely return again. Kids loved it.

Jumbos Playland is a fantastic indoor play center that caters to children aged 2-10, making it the perfect spot for families looking to keep their little ones entertained. With an array of attractions including swings, slides, games, and a giant maze, kids can safely expend their energy while parents relax with a delicious cup of coffee in the fully air-conditioned environment. Open every day of the week, this vibrant venue shines especially on rainy days when outdoor activities are off the table.
Wonderful play center, friendly staff, great coffee and good value for money in comparison to smaller play centres locally on the mid north coast that have less equipment and activities. Would recommend Jumbos to anyone looking to escape the heat or rain with their littles.

We've moved to Port a year ago. I have 1 and 2 years baby and this place is just perfect! I THINK they should get more goos reviews. They are clean, great staff, kids enjoyed a lot. Im so glad port macquarie has this kinds of kids area.
SangaFit S — Google review
Our son had a great time here and there was lots for him to explore. The equipment was mostly in a good condition, although some items could do with a refresh.
Kerbray — Google review
Old, dirty, broken! Slides that are filthy, cracked and don't slide. The mat on the trampoline is loose and not springy... a mattress would give better bounce than the trampoline. Many of the toys and play things are broken or have missing pieces. Inflatable slide patched together with what looks like flubber. Jumbos boasts that they are the largest indoor play centre on the Mid North Coast (NSW). If so, then the others must be tiny! At$13.90 (weekend price for 2-10 y/o) it is also way over priced! Unsupervised kids picking on and pushing smaller children around, even punching them. They also do not seem to enforce their 'no socks, no play' policy. Pros - air conditioning and plenty of seating and tables for parents. Though tables rarely get cleaned. Left over food everywhere.
Damien M — Google review
Great value for money, lots for younger kids to play and explore, does get pretty busy and loud (as expected)
Elise M — Google review
$16.90 for 3 Dino nuggets, a cheap popper and a packet of tiny teddies is an absolute joke. For almost $17 you would expect a filling, nutritious meal at least! What a rip off. $3.80 for a bottle of water is also ridiculous. There is nothing healthy for kids on the menu and it was pretty disappointing considering it cost over $30 for two kids to play. I'd suggest adding a small fruit salad for $5.
Lauren S — Google review

The upgrade was lovely. My experience was poor. I had a poor experience was due to Joy, the way she talked to me was terrible and the way she talked to the crowd was also poor. Livvi’s Place Playground in Port Macquarie is a unique and inclusive play area suitable for all ages and abilities. Recently renovated after being damaged by floods, the playground offers a variety of activities including swings, slides, and sensory walls. It's located next to an open field, making it perfect for family fun. The beautiful decking under the trees provides a great view of the river and boats while offering parents shade from the sun.
Livvi’s playground has recently undergone a facelift to rectify the damage done the previous year during the floods in Port Macquarie. It’s really a park for small children of all abilities and not for older kids who would need larger or more exciting things to do. A new water park has been developed by the council in close proximity but not within the fences of Livvi’s playground. They are two separate places. The kids won’t get wet if playing in the playground but will if they go to the waterpark next door. Both venues are excellent for what they are.

Hands down the loveliest playground in Port. Beautiful decking under a tree for parents out of the harsh sun. Great view of the river/water/boats. Make up your lies about what time the carnival opens next door before you get there, because guaranteed your little ones will see a Ferris wheel and demand to come back when the carnival opens. I tell my kids it's only for adults or that everything there is broken.

Jan N — Google review
A big space with little to poor interactive equipment. Very boring play area for all ages. No drinking water fountain in the gated area. It gets very hot and there’s no shade over the play equipment as it’s all in the sun! Nothing really for the kids to play on except for swings, small slide and a merry-go-round. Broken equipment **may have been water play zone in the past and other broken things all rusty. A whole lot of space with nothing in it!! Needs major upgrades for it to be attractive for littlies and bigger kids. Very disappointing and would not bother visiting. The view of the water is the only nice part about it.

It offers about 500 meters of golden sand nestled between two rugged headlands, providing a sheltered spot for sunbathing and swimming. The beach is popular among beginner surfers who can take lessons and then refuel at the surf life saving club's kiosk or the nearby Sandbox cafe, which offers stunning waterfront views.
We went to see the sunset hence weather a bit gloomy. The beach itself is clean, we’ve seen police patrol in the area. Great to walk to the coastline with family and friends.

A beautiful beach located very nicely and close to a few amenities, like some coffee shops, a wood-fired Pizza restaurant medical centre and lots of hotels, an apartment, the beach benches for setting it has a sandbox. It has a water bubbler, and people come for surfing here in the evenings. There are public toilets for men and women. There's an event party hall that's available for hiring, and it is part of the coastal walk.

Such a great Aussie pub. Beautiful architecture. A little pricey, we paid $17 for a ginger beer and a lemon lime and bitters. Very good menu selection and a lovely family vibe. Nice quiet tunes playing in background. We came on a Tuesday night was not at all full! Waitress aren’t the most friendly especially the younger ones but the table was wiped down on arrival.

We had dinner at The Beach House in Port Macquarie, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We were welcomed by lovely staff, and the location is perfect—right near the water with easy parking, which is always a win! The vibe was relaxed and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a meal. Now, the food—absolutely delicious! I had the Juniper Lamb (slow-cooked & packed with flavour), and Chris went for his go-to, the fish tacos—both were spot on. If you’re in Port Macquarie, The Beach House is definitely worth a visit. We’d go back in a heartbeat!

Has potential to be great, the view is lovely but lacked ambiance and friendly bar staff at the venue. The female attendant was wearing a scowling look when we asked if cocktails were $10…i don’t know what was so happy about a happy hour cocktail special where only three cocktails were $2 off the regular price @$18??!! Perfect spot to unwind, enjoy great service, and soak up the atmosphere with beautiful water views. Highly recommended for locals and visitors! 👌🏻

It was ok. We ordered entree and mains, but they brought them all out at the same time resulting in a table with no space and our drinks on the ground, we then had a cold mains meal because it was cold by the time we ate our entree. One person on our table ordered the steak, it came in a bowl and when he was cutting his meat the bowel tipped into his lap... it was odd because another person ordered the salad and that came on a flat plate , which the steak should have come on. The food was ok.
Fatmat W — Google review
Like others have mentioned. This place could be so much better. It is a comfortable and attractive place with a pleasant outlook with a reasonable range on both the food and drinks menu. But the table service is nonexistent (sticky table), you have to order either via a QR code or at the bar, not even water in the table, you have to get your own. The hot food came out quickly but nobody came to check on the meals or ask if we wanted additional drinks or dessert. The lamb shank was tasty but came just with roast potatoes, no vegetables and you can’t order them as a side. A few changes and this place could be truly memorable. Sadly it is subpar

Excellent venue, fantastic staff, very helpful when my mum had a medical episode. Gave us complimentary tickets as we missed the show. Thank you again for everything, much appreciated ☺️

My disabled parents attended the Human Nature concert and faced serious accessibility issues. Staff refused early toilet access, the accessible toilet required an unannounced key, and box office staff made unnecessary requests despite seeing their mobility limitations. Wheelchair placement blocked aisles, and overall staff lacked empathy. They had travelled from Sydney and left feeling sad and mistreated.

1st time visit to see hmHindley Street Country Club in concert. It was fantastic the sound the look the atmosphere was superb 👌 Note....... The access to the downstairs toilets fot both men & women was something else - so down stairs to lower level only one way down & back line into bathroom lines to toilets fight thru crowd to get out 5 🌟 stars for venue but 1/2 🌟 star for toilet design architects need punch in face ...... But the acoustics, design and fell of the twin balcony auditorium is excellent. Loved it

The park features two circuits, one 2.3 km long and the other 1.3 km long, which can be combined for a longer walk. This nature haven boasts winding boardwalks and trails that provide an immersive experience of Australian flora and fauna.
Great to see places like this in cities. Nature parks with info etc on how important it is to protect these natural spaces. Playgrounds, picnic areas, walk through the mangroves. See some flying foxes up close.
Russ J — Google review
Parked next to the cemetery side of the park and walked into the mangroves. The walking path is a board walk through the park and there are tens of thousands of these creature and these creatures are massive !!! There also is an area where you can sit by the water and it is very relaxing. Remember to wear but repellent as there are lots of mosquitos ready to pounce on their next human prey. Didn’t see any koalas as they as pretty hard to see.
Vu N — Google review
The park, cemetery and boardwalk are lovely. Pity it’s been over run by homeless people leaving their belongings everywhere, drinking and hollering at anyone the walks nearby. Not a nice place to feel safe.
Shayne C — Google review
Lovely short walk around the woods, with a view of the sleeping flying foxes across the water. Path is raised, boarded and accessible for prams / wheelchairs. There is also a decent green space to sit on when the weather is good. Unfortunately the park seems to have become a place for the homeless to make camp so that certainly complicates things as there are some more approaching characters
Duncan M — Google review
Wonderful place to visit..I went to that place with my two kids..we enjoyed it a lot..we can see water, birds sometimes in a residential area, sometimes I see some roads...I wonder how a forest will be like that... peace and pleasant. Thousands of bata and a few birds...lovely place to spend a few hours... Maintenance is not good to complete full round...one bridge is broken still...
Nareshkumar R — Google review
The park doesn't look like much, but once you get to the boardwalk it is incredible what you can see. Plenty of information about the trees and the hundreds of flying foxes. The plants are beautiful and everything looks well maintained. Apparently there are crabs, but I didn't see any. But in the end I saw hundreds of flying foxes resting in the trees. Totally worth checking out.
Ming L — Google review
There’s a few different walking tracks. The big one makes you feel like you’re in the absolute middle of no where when in reality just metres from Gordon Street. It’s amazing how real and natural this park is. If you love walking in controlled nature this is the place to go. If you do the full walk from the cemetery you will end up on Gordon St where you cross the road for the walkway to Westport.

This unique museum spans three locations, showcasing an impressive collection of maritime memorabilia that tells the story of seafaring and trade in Port Macquarie. Visitors can marvel at intricately crafted scale models of various vessels, explore historical maps and charts, and admire captivating paintings alongside a vast array of maritime photographs.
Down to the sea in ships! Before road and rail our riverboats and steamers built this nation. So many lives lost to storms and war. A poignant reminder.

A small museum housed across 2 small cottages and staffed by enthusiastic volunteers. There is a lot of information about the maritime history of the region. I liked the maritime flags in each room with an explanation of their meaning. A quick visit from me as I’m more of a glancer rather than a reader of everything but good value for the $5 admission.

This a great little maritime museum set up in the old pilots cottage on the bluff above Town Beach. No boats but it has lots of small displays and information based on local the maritime history. Definitely worth a visit if you're into maritime history.

Thanks for an awesome day out on your great new boat. As always a fantastic experience off the beautiful Port Macquarie coast. In particular seeing an amazing cow with her excitable calf plus their escort heading south. Loved hearing about the facts surrounding these great ocean mammals.

What a fantastic experience on the wave rider with Macca today! It started off slow but he stayed out until we got a fantastic show from multiple whales. Absolutely appreciate the dedication from this team. The three of us had such a wonderful time and my Grandad who has been on many whale watching cruises said this was by far the best! Thanks for a fantastic time, Port Jet and for going above and beyond to make sure we got a great show!

We had an amazing time on the Wave Rider whale experience. It was a bit of a slow start with only a few whales at first, but near the end of the trip we got to see them jumping and playing—it was incredible! They even nearly doubled our time at sea so we could really enjoy it. The skipper was great for a laugh and helped make it an extremely memorable outing.
Patrick R — Google review
Went on a morning whale-watching cruise with some friends! The whales where playing hide & seek this particular day BUT our captain was persistent and dedicated to helping us have our whale experience! One lovely humpback whale gave us a wee show by popping up out of the water & even breaching briefly! It was a sight to behold, that's for sure ☺️ Make sure you arrive a half hour early so you can sign your waiver, get fitted with your life jacket & briefed on all the safety protocols/procedures etc. Be sure to wear waterproof clothing/shoes, sunscreen and bring sunglasses! (It can get quite bright/glarey out on the water! Ooh, and ocean water in the eyes can sting a bit...) Oh, and dress warmly- it does get cold out there! They do have waterproof poncho things on board which are very helpful when the seaspray tries to play "wet t-shirt competition" with you! A wonderful experience, nonetheless. Highly recommend ☺️👍
Erinn B — Google review
Had the most amazing day on a whale watch cruise. Saw a mother and calf which was pretty exciting then a pod of up to 250 dolphins. They gladly joined us and was magic. Then our spotter ( the legend) pointed out several groups of whales which appeared to be males attracted to a couple of playful females. We enjoyed watching them interacting all around us as some even played next to the boat. Such an amazing day and the crew were so informative and shared their passion with us.
Sharon A — Google review
The skipper was great. We saw whales. But why is this business supporting the anti renewable energy movement. Even Greenpeace has said there is no impact of windfarms on whales. So weird Update: so the business is really doubling down because of potential disturbance. This stance comes from fossil fuel industry lead misinformation and scare compaigns. They neglect to mention WWF, Greenpeace, NOAA are all supportive of windfarms. Here are some things that have actual known impacts on whales - climate change, boat strikes, fishing, entanglements and ... the whale watching industry. This is mentioned in a review because the business have their position on it very known

Port AdVenture Cruises in Port Macquarie offers an unforgettable experience for those looking to explore the stunning waterways of this coastal gem. Departing from Town Wharf, conveniently located near the Town Green, these cruises provide a variety of options including dolphin spotting adventures, delightful sunset fish and chip cruises, and scenic winery excursions along the river. For thrill-seekers, fast jet boat rides are also available, drawing families eager for excitement.
We booked the 2h dolphin cruise and it was totally worth it. We reached around 10.30 on a Monday (Christmas time) and were able to get 4P parking comfortably in the nearby parkplatz. The cruise set off with a slight delay (10 Mins) but there was more than enough time to see dolphins !. We had about 50 people on what was a pretty big boat. You can walk around from the lower deck to the upper deck. Weather was sunny and windy. I had called up earlier in the day to check if the cruise was still on due to a forecast for thunderstorm and the admin confirmed that it was on. The 2h duration of the cruise is perfect. Starts off from the pier and heads towards the breakwater before turning around and heading up the Hastings river where it explores the various canals. For the first forty mins we could not spot dolphins but got lucky after going around in the canals. Spotted multiple pairs some of which came quite close to the bow of the boat - would be pretty exciting for someone who s not seen dolphins up close. Food was as advertised with morning tea or coffee and muffins to start off followed by light lunch in the form of wraps and dessert - more than enough to keep the tummies full for the 2 hours. The crew were AWESOME (shoutout to you guys). Overall excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend!

Our “Framily” group of 12 friends did the 3 hour lunch time cruise on Wednesday this week - which included trivia, bingo and games. The city of Port is just gorgeous - quite eye-opening actually cruising through all the beautiful canals. The cruise far exceeded all our expectations. All the staff were so welcoming and so much fun. We had a yummy morning tea and a gorgeous hot roast dinner and sweets as well. We sang with the entertainment duo (who were fabulous) and danced on the floor. The staff seemed to bend over backwards to make sure we had a great time - which we did. Thanks so much guys and next time we are in Port, we will certainly do this cruise again. Highly recommended and such a great price!

Don't miss out on this cruise when you are in Port Macquarie. It would have to be the best value for money that you can find. Our family did the sunset cruise and we weren't disappointed. The staff on board ensure you are looked after. The food provided was fresh and tasty and plentiful and included mini muffins and jam scrolls, freshly made wraps and ice cream, lollies and an assortment of fresh fruit. The bar has a good selection of alcohol and well priced. Thankyou to all the crew for an enjoyable day. ❤️

Was a nice cruise, loved the commentary of the sailor, he’s really fun. We left too early to see the sun fully going down though, I expected to see the sunset on the river more, it was only at the end and still very light when getting of the boat. Food is okay, staff very good. Had a nice time. Good discount with my hostel as well, wouldn’t have paid the full price probably. For this price ($25) a great experience and worth it! At the end it felt like a party boat and some man in a dolphin suit for the entertainment of the children.

This was truly one of the best experiences of our trip! Riding camels along the beautiful beach was such a cool experience — the views were stunning and it felt so special. Dave was absolutely lovely to deal with, and a fantastic entertainer who made the whole activity even more enjoyable. He walked alongside us during the ride, kept the kids laughing with his jokes, and happily took photos for us along the way. It’s a very kid-friendly activity, and my children absolutely loved it. Poor business skills. Read reviews how helpful but I disagree. When you arrive before the end of the day ..2pm ,we were there at 1.40 just after the ride had gone. Okay put a sign no more rides and we and 8 others ( who were later than us) may not have stayed. It was the rudeness that I was offered by. Found this place from an Instagram post and couldn’t have been more satisfied. The rainforest its self is tranquil and the bridge walk makes it accessible for everyone. The wood carvings midway were a pleasant surprise. We met a local guide who was so knowledgeable and kind, I think her name was Mary. Definitely have recommended this place to others already. The entry fee is reasonable especially for families.

It was a really nice little rainforest walk but in my opinion, it could have been longer! It costs about $9 per person to enter and it’s only a bit more than 1km around. A very nice broadwalk to take. Tickets for an adult cost $9. Took us about 30 to 45mins to finish the circuit broadwalk. Along the way while walking the broadwalk, there are some informative displays, mainly on the plants and trees. If you have some spare time, I would suggest you can do this walk. However if you are on a tight schedule or you are not near the vicinity, I would say it is not really a must to visit.

The most important beaches are equipped with bbq, public toilets and coffee shops on the sea. My girlfriend had her confidence boosted from this lesson after previously struggling, while I was approached with a great sense of humour but plenty of professionalism and constructive feedback. They took some photos throughout which they kindly sent us afterwards, an unexpected bonus of the lesson!

We joined the group surf lesson today and had a brilliant time with Wayne. We booked on last minute thanks to Amy and they had everything we needed. Wayne is a great instructor and very good at making you feel at ease in the water. Plenty of banter - surf lesson was a good price (and the comedy was free!). Everyone caught waves, everyone popped up and everyone was stoked. 😎🏄🏾‍♀️

Huddo is an awesome coach. He combines his extensive surf knowledge with positive and supportive feedback to maximise improvement. His attention to detail meant fundamental skills and confidence were built from the bottom up. We cannot recommend him highly enough. 10 ⭐️

Huddo was a high energy, joke-loving person making it really fun for our 9 and 11 year olds. Good attention to detail and physically demonstrates his explanations well! Strongly recommend and would book in again with this school. Saw his son teaching the day before and looked very encouraging too.

Booked a last-minute surf lesson here since it was close by our campground, and man, was it a blast! The best decision I could make. Wayne was all about getting our feet wet right off the bat. Nervous at first — never been on a board before — but Wayne made the experience really smooth and friendly. He even threw in some German phrases when he heard where we're from — super cool touch 😄 Wayne was hands-on, literally pushing us into waves for the best starts, and always had spot-on tips after each ride. It was just me and my girlfriend, so we got heaps of attention and felt like a private lesson In two hours, we got the basics down and had a bunch of laughs. Boards and wetsuits were included, no fuss. And now, Port Macquarie isn't just a stopover; it's a place we connected with the ocean, thanks to Wayne. If you're in Port Macquarie, hit the waves with the school. Great vibes, great waves, and a great guy to teach you how to surf. Don't think twice, just do it 😌 If I’m lucky, I’ll be back in Port Macquarie to catch some more waves with him again and show my progress :) Crossing my fingers it's sooner rather than later! But I'm grateful I had my first introduction to surfing with Wayne, it was a blast!💯

Had a blast, great lesson from a very kind, patient and funny instructor. There where only 2 others in our group, so we had a lot of personal attention. 10/10!

Port Macquarie Surf School is an excellent surf school for anyone wanting to learn how to surf or to get advice on how to surf better. The staff were welcoming, friendly and willing to offer surfing advice. With the surf school being located right on the beach it was easy to find and is also ideal when wanting to hire surfboards.

What an epic experience this was for our kids, they were so scared at first but Wayne soon turned this around and they were quick to gain confidence and loved every minute! So much fun had by all and we will definitely be back for another lesson next time we are in Port .

Beautiful food with a lovely atmosphere. The scallop entree looked like a work of art & tasted great and the quail was probably the best I have tried. For mains the tooth fish was a stand out and the mango cheese cake sweet being gluten free was also amazing.

They’re not enough start to rate this place. It’s sophistication, relaxation and perfection all rolled into one. From the moment you step in and are greeted by Tom your experience begins. It’s a hour try through food, wind and stories. We were blessed to have a quiet day where w could be given wonderful amount of attention, but I am sure that even on the busiest days you would be made to feel special by Tom. That’s just who he is. He knows his job and he makes your visit exceptional. The food surpassed every expectation and the win is everything and more Tom informed us it would be. If only I lived here and could visit all the time. I was grateful that I was able to have this experience with my cousins and look forward to bigger and better things next time I visit.

The food was excellent and the service staff were professional and very friendly. However, I would like to point out a safety concern. The restaurant’s main entrance is a glass sliding door. When we arrived, a staff member was at the entrance and the door was open, but when we left after dinner, the door had been closed. Because the glass is very clear and has no markings, it was difficult to see at night, and unfortunately my husband bumped his head on it. For the safety of other diners, I hope the restaurant can consider adding visible markings or making some improvements to the door.

Prepare for a treat! This was an unexpected but most welcome posh dining experience 3 course fixed price menu with plenty of choices for each course and a wonderful wine menu (+cocktails etc) The menu is interesting and everything we ate was delicious. Fresh king prawn, scallops, hints of umami yuzu and wasabi, texture and flavour balance and beautiful presentation Recommend if you appreciate fine dining and have the time to savour a long meal. Ideal within walking distance of Mantra Observatory hotel and others near Town Beach Reservations recommended and if you have dietary restrictions suggest speaking to the chef in advance

Bills Fishhouse & Bar is a casual yet elegant dining spot in the heart of the city, offering a modern and sustainable approach to seafood. Overlooking the marina, it provides breathtaking views and a sea-to-plate ethos with an ever-changing menu based on daily catches.
Stopped by on a whim and managed to get a walk in table on a busy Saturday night. So happy we did. All the dishes were amazing. Great flavours and unique. Very special and worth more than the price.

Staff were great and able to accommodate us, being 20 minutes early. Very kind and happy and communication was great. Well versed in what was in the meals. We loved the house made bread with whipped truffle butter, the oysters and scallops were excellent. We had the 5 dish tasting menu. I would say with the Kingfish, calamari, and swordfish to add a bit more herbal elements and, as well, saltiness and acidity to the dishes. Just slightly left the taste buds wanting a bit more flavour. Overall, it was a great night out and customer service and service delivery was impeccable. Thanks for a great meal.

From our phone booking to enjoying the tasty delights, this place is 10 stars! We ordered coffin Bay oysters 3 ways, I had charred octopus, hubbie the swordfish. I've recently returned from Italy and ate the best med octopus and I must say, my meal this evening was exceptionally cooked and presented and ever so tender. Hats off chefs!! This restaurant has a cool, energetic vibe and Coral, the owner is a masterstoke that enhances the experience. Let's not forget the mixologist! We had the "spice me" watermelon marg..sensational! We,re headed up to qld and ever so thankful that we were accommoted this evening. On our way back down to Sydney, we'll be returning, guaranteed.

It is my favourite restaurant in all of Mid North Coast!! I've had two of my wedding anniversaries there and several other special occasions, and it's a place I always make sure to take friends and family to. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere is cozy and fancy, and the volume is tolerable. it's a fantastic excuse to dress up fancy and enjoy amazing oysters and various sea foods. Their drinks and deserts are a MUST to try! This is the restaurant that made me fall in love with oysters and wine. The wine selection is *superb* I can't wait to go back again, and again, and again.

(3.5 stars) While The Stunned Mullet is the place in Port Macquarie to visit for top tier food and wine, Bills Fishhouse & Bar shouldn’t be overlooked. Locals inform me that they change the menu more often, too, which is a factor when you live in a place with limited dining options. Popping in on Wednesday night for a simple plate with a mate, the welcome was warm and the restaurant was packed wall-to-wall. A glass window into the fish fridge showed off the daily catch: swordfish from an hour up the road in South West Rocks, blue eye cod from Sydney, and Pacific oysters and king prawns from South Australia. I stuck with my hometown and a fat fillet of blue eye cod ($47) in a hearty bisque of Balmain bug and prawns. It’s gentled by crème fraiche and tiny littleneck clams from over the ditch in Westhaven. Environmental concerns keep me from ordering trout farmed in Macquarie Harbour. However, my dining companion enjoyed his thin, golden, ocean trout fillet ($45) presented on a healthy mix of edamame, puffed wild rice and black beans. We shared baby eggplant ($18)—charred almost beyond recognition—over labneh cut by juicy pomegranate arils. It should have been served with side plates, along with a spoon and shell bowl for the bisque. For a midweek dinner, the by-the-glass list holds enough interest. The 2022 Coppabella Pinot Noir ($15.50/glass) showed Tumbarumba is well worth considering if you drink pinot noir.

Highly recommend Bills Fishhouse & Bar!!! We are from the Gold Coast and had 1 night in Port Maq, not knowing where to go. My partner and I eat out frequently and consider ourselves fairly harsh critics - so happy we chose Bills, all food was amazing but the Barramundi was a standout. I haven’t stopped talking about it, hands down the best barramundi dish of my life (I grew up in Darwin and have eaten a lot of it!!). The staff were so very friendly, food came out timely & the atmosphere was perfect. We had the best date night and can’t fault anything!! Well done guys, we hope to be back!!

My wife and I go here every year for our anniversary dinner and every year we are left speechless. You walk in and your greeted with a beautiful welcome and a atmosphere that forces you to relax and enjoy the food to come. Nothing is a problem for the staff, they never give you the feeling of being rushed or being too busy. I feel 5 stars doesn't give bills the credit it's due. We always order the chefs tasting. A 5 course taste phenomenon that leaves you not only full but mesmerised in how they can achieve flavours like this. I simply can't recommend this place higher. The owner should be incredibly proud of all their staff and everything they have created. Well done.

The 5-course tasting menu was wonderful and perfectly sized. Timing of delivery also perfect 👌 - not rushed. We already were sipping our bottle of Orange/ Mudgee Pinot Noir so didn’t do the matched wines. We arrived at 5.30pm Tuesday on opening and were fortunate to get a table. Restaurant was full by 7pm. Will definitely book next time.

Limited menu, very fancy so not for your typical person. Also not for those who want a proper feed unless you are okay order a bunch of sides because each meal is like 1 ingredient. Each is very delicious though and I'm lucky I got this paid for by my work otherwise I would not come. Though I know this is the intention of fancy places.

Summary - not very good value, food or service. We went for a conference dinner at $90 a head - for this you would expect some good food and some wine on the table. We got one drink each and then had to purchase - which was not cheap. The food was not very good - overcooked and quite plain, with small serves. There were no sides or salads on the table. The service was poor - to the effect that the wait staff didn’t pay attention to how they served and provided those on our table with chicken for entree and chicken for a main - good if you like chicken. Dessert was poor too - they obviously didn’t have enough brownies and therefore smashed what they had into the base of bowls - so you had two small bits below some ice cream. Port Macquarie is expensive and this dining experience was poor too. My views were reiterated by 6 others I asked - so it wasn’t just me. 2 stars cause the food was prompt and the view was good.

Went for dinner with friends for my birthday. Had the chef’s special chorizo gnocchi and mushroom arancini and both were delicious. Atmosphere was beautiful and service was great. I was even gifted with a complimentary glass of wine.
Olivia M — Google review
We had dinner here recently. Atmosphere was nice but I did not feel it delivered on the expectation. The service was good but not really relational - the staff did not seem happy but just doing their duty. At one point a waiter came and said our meals were taking longer than expected and asked if we wanted garlic bread. We didn’t think it had taken that long but with the prospect of it taking longer we said yes to the bread. I did feel this was more a marketing ploy to sell more because we got the bread and the meals came almost straight after. The meals we had were pretty unremarkable. Nice, but nothing ‘restaurant special’. The fact I happily paid $45 for a steak and it came very small and not especially tasty was disappointing. Really felt we could have had better at home. So just three stars from me - I usually give 5 but just didn’t feel this was honest for this one.

Zebu Bar and Restaurant in Port Macquarie offers a dining experience that seamlessly marries culinary excellence with stunning waterfront views. My recent visit left me thoroughly impressed with its vibrant ambiance, delectable cuisine, and impeccable service. The moment I stepped into Zebu, the modern and chic decor caught my eye. The restaurant's open layout and expansive windows provided unobstructed views of the picturesque Hastings River. The combination of sleek design and the soothing sight of water created a truly inviting atmosphere. The menu, a testament to creativity and quality, featured a diverse array of dishes that catered to a variety of tastes. From fresh seafood to sumptuous steaks, each plate was a masterpiece that celebrated local produce. The attention to flavors and presentation was evident in every bite. The standout moment was undoubtedly the seafood offerings. The freshness of the oysters and the succulence of the prawns were a testament to the restaurant's commitment to sourcing the finest ingredients. The fusion of international and local flavors was a delightful journey for the taste buds. Equally remarkable was the service. The staff's attentiveness and knowledge of the menu were exceptional. They guided me through the options with enthusiasm, ensuring my preferences were met and any dietary concerns were addressed. What truly elevated my dining experience was the waterfront view. As the sun began to set, the golden hues danced on the river's surface, creating a tranquil and magical ambiance. It's a setting that transforms an ordinary meal into an extraordinary memory. Zebu Bar and Restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it's a destination that captures the essence of Port Macquarie's coastal charm. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, enjoying a romantic dinner, or simply seeking a memorable culinary experience, Zebu offers an exquisite blend of flavors, views, and hospitality. My visit to Zebu Bar and Restaurant was an exploration of taste and aesthetics. It's a place where impeccable cuisine and waterfront elegance converge, leaving a lasting impression that beckons me to return for another remarkable dining adventure.

On the last Saturday of January, we dined at Zebu to mark the end of our holiday. Evening started off as usual, greeted at reception. Ordered drinks (which were great) to start off, and the waitress took our orders for food after that. That's where things started to go downhill. Ordered entrees, mains, and a bottle of wine with table water. She didn't repeat the order as what we expected from past dining experiences all around to start off. Entrees came after a reasonable time (15ish mins). After finishing, the main course came after 25 or so mins. However, between finishing entrees and mains being served, the entree plates and some finished cocktail glasses were not taken away despite the staff being active in welcoming other guests and walking around, we felt a bit disregarded relative to other guests. Mains came, and only then did another staff member - who was stationed at the front the whole time - come with the main plates and then made the effort to take our starter plates and glasses. Mains were very good, no issues there. Throughout this, the wine originally ordered never came. After our plates from mains were taken, another waitress (who didn't take our order) asked if there was anything else needed, where then I brought up the wine issue and said for that to be cancelled. Our water throughout this whole evening was never topped up until the very end when I asked. Even then, my own empty glass wasn't filled, only my wife's. At the end of our time at Zebu, the initial ordering waitress came by, and I explained to her our experience so far. She said she'll inform her manager and soon after the gentleman from the front, who was the supervisor that evening, apologised and added a discount to our check. I explained to him as well what happened and being someone who's worked in the same industry for many years, and also knowing what the Rydges reputation in general is, being of a higher standard, I was extremely underwhelmed with the service. He was very nice and genuine during this interaction. I thanked the chefs at the end for their hard work but told them about the service issues, which they acknowledged. That ordering waitress never came around to top up our water, but did so for every other table (all but 1 table was occupied) as per our observations. Once I asked for the check, the waitress stopped pouring water. (At any bar or restaurant with alcohol, water must be available) The F&B director was also spotted speaking to the supervisor as we left. I had to take 2 glasses of water from the adjacent bar just to have something to drink after the first glass and cocktail. Finally, I told the restaurant to call me as my number was on the reservation records. No one called me until I, just before this post was written, called them myself after 1 week, where I was told that due to staff shortages that shift, they were undermanned, but the F&B director Patrick never apologised during the call, saying no one told him to give me a call. He cut the line at the end to add insult, I didn't feel he genuinely wanted to speak to me. Overall, there were fantastic food and drinks which were enjoyed, but very underwhelming service which soured the evening.

Had thee most banger of a Breakfast here this morning. I had the Breaky Wrap with bacon, scrambled eggs, baked beans and tomato relish which was flavourful and filling, that definitely hit the spot. I also got hash browns on the side and they were cooked to perfection (chefs kiss) crispy and hot. My partner got the Bacon & Egg Burger, I blinked and it disappeared, thats how good it was. He said it was good sized, egg still runny and the tomato relish went really well with it. A plus for me was that there was Campos coffee beans and I hadn’t had a good coffee in a few days so I really appreciated that coffee its was heaven in a cup. Thank you so much to Dexter & Cory (correct me if I got those names wrong) for the lovely service this morning, and a special thanks to Dex for giving us some touristy things to do while we were in Port Macquarie, then on our way back half an hour or so later he gave us wave as we drove past. We’ve been to a few of The Corner’s monthly Gourmet Nights now and every single one has been outstanding. The atmosphere feels special the moment you walk in, like you’re part of something the team has put their whole heart into. The food is always the star. Each course is beautifully presented and tastes incredible, with a menu that changes monthly so you never know exactly what’s coming but you know it’ll be good. It’s clear everything is made fresh and with care. What really makes the night, though, is the service. The staff are warm, welcoming and genuinely excited to share the experience with you. You don’t feel like just another booking; it feels personal, like dining with friends who also happen to be brilliant at running a restaurant. If you’re looking for a memorable night out in Port Macquarie, Gourmet Night at The Corner is the one. We always leave feeling full, happy and already planning for the next one.

This family-friendly spot has garnered praise for its attentive service, making it an ideal choice for families with kids.
We came here 8 years ago and I haven’t forgotten as it was delicious! Again now and hasn’t disappointed. Airy and fluffy pancakes that don’t make you feel sick. Everyone on the table loved what they got. I had the berry delight and it was a delight 😜

Clean tables, however uncomfortable chairs. Service very slow but pleasant staff. Stay away from the Savoury crepe, glad I ordered a side of sour cream as the Veggie supreme crepe was tasteless and weird choice of filling, served with weird side of watermelon. pineapple, 1/2 strawberry lettuce, cucumber, 1 cherry tomato, carrot and 3 small pretzels grapes, kiwi fruit, peach, very strange. Hawaiian crepe with ham cheese, pineapple was nice. 3 stack pancakes with maple syrup and ice cream was beautiful.

Nice pancakes and fun decor. Pancakes are expensive for what they are, but still very nice. I'd also say the "chocolate indulgence" dessert is more like a banana split pancake (bananas, chocolate topping and crushed nuts) with a few maltesers. Not as chocolatey as you think it's going to be.

I recently visited Pancake Place and, unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. We had to wait far longer than expected for our order, which set a negative tone for the visit. When the food finally arrived, it was below average in both taste and presentation, and the coffee was honestly one of the worst I’ve had — bitter and unpleasant. While the staff were polite, the overall quality of the food and drinks did not meet expectations. I hope the café takes this feedback as an opportunity to improve, as the location and atmosphere have potential to be much better.

YOU HAVE THE WRONG PICTURE OF THE LOCATION ON YOUR WEBSITE GOOGLE. Great pancakes and scrambled eggs. Strawberry banana pancake was good but any of those with berries we tried in the past were with frozen fruit and not nice at all. Good service and they quickly cleared a table for us away from some that were very noisy. More table outside would be a help. Not open on some days so check the hours.

Located in the heart of Port Macquarie, Port City Bowling Club is a popular spot for locals and tourists to enjoy a good time. With ample lanes, plenty of food options, and friendly staff, it's no wonder this club is so popular. From weekly social hour to regular live music performances, there's always something happening at Port City Bowling Club!
The best steak in Port Macquarie. We both chose the eye fillet Mignon in their new restaurant & it was cooked to perfection with lovely side dishes included in the price. Service was great with a wonderful welcome from Perry. We will be back!

I’ve eaten in the Drift Restaurant on numerous occasions and always enjoyed it and the service has been great. Don’t know what happened yesterday but I decided to go round to the general bar area and order from their snack menu. Bar staff were helpful. Waited and waited for my food, drank 2 drinks and had to ask where my meal was. Was told there seemed to be a few issues today and they chased up my meal. It finally arrived. Unfortunately it was cold. Nachos isn’t great if it’s not hot but I was so hungry by now I didn’t take it back as I didn’t want someone spitting in it. A staff member came around and asked how the meal was and I told him it was cold and I was disappointed. I was offered some compensation in the form of a gift voucher which I’ll use next time I go. Maybe they were short staffed on a busy public holiday. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Afterwards I went upstairs to check out their new Beachfront Bar and Grill. It looks amazing but the prices aren’t cheap and I’m not liking the available pizza toppings either. Looks a fantastic place to eat but I’m not sure that I’ll be going very often; time will tell.

Went there tonight for dinner. Firstly they booked me in the wrong restaurant. I left it as I couldn’t be bothered going upstairs to check if they had any tables available. Then I had to wait half an hour for my meal. Got my meal and the chicken was smothered in the sauce, and everyone knows what this means, and sure enough I took the sauce of the chicken and I am not joking the chicken looked like 2 day old chicken from Woolies, tasted like it too. So disappointed, had high hopes, it’s looks so nice from my hotel room. I asked for water and they told me I had to go get it from the bar. Well I guess I won’t be going there again. It’s terrible. And this was their special meal of the night for $33 😒 now I know why it was their “special meal” trying to get rid of old chicken

My family went to the Beach front bar and grill last night, it was our third visit (our last being May) the steaks were perfect and cocktails were great. Unfortunately in comparison to our first two visits the quality of the side dishes presentation/quality/execution has dropped significantly, it makes no sense why you would cut costs especially coming into peak tourist season, EVERYONE spoke so highly of this place and now we probably wouldn’t rush back (we will pay $$$ for quality) We also planned on getting desserts but nobody returned to the table to clear our stacked dirty plates and take further orders. I really hope coming into summer the place goes back to its original standards of quality and point of difference in what is a town that lacks quality dining options.

This was our first visit to Port City Bowling Club and we were very impressed with the size of the club and the facilities. We had dinner at the Beachfront Bar and Grill. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend eating at this restaurant. We can't wait to return when we visit Port Macquarie again next month.

Just love the food and customer service Love how it’s now table service also. It would be great if drinks could also be ordered at the table A larger range of higher quality wines

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the new upstairs restaurant, Beachfront Bar & Grill. Can I suggest you create a profile for this restaurant on TripAdvisor so you can expand your profile. It’s a shame when restaurants don’t get the patronage they deserve from lack of exposure. Thanks!

Italian restaurant
Cafe
Cafe 66 is a beloved Italian restaurant in the area, known for its breakfast and traditional Italian dishes. The owner, Phil, has upheld his family's Italian legacy and has been sharing it with locals for many years. The restaurant offers a famous Tuesday night 2-for-1 pasta deal that draws in crowds. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner most days of the week, Cafe 66 is a popular spot among residents.
Hubby and I came here twice during our stay in Port Mac. We had big breakfast for breakki and then came back for pasta as lunch. The food is delicious and the staff are amazing. We were not very hungry so we only ordered one pasta to share. Surprisingly, the chef split the pasta into two plates for us. It is so lovely and we feel so welcomed. Thank you so much! What a shame that we live 6 hours away in Brisbane, would love to come back regularly otherwise.

Cute little cafe with lovely staff, great atmosphere and delicious food. Enjoyed sitting in the little sun trap for brunch. I had the poached eggs with mediterranian salsa (tomato and avacado), whilst my fella had the mushroom omelette. Both were scrumptious 🤭

Really good food, very tasty!! Vegetarian friendly as well. They said they can make any thing on the menu vegetarian for me. The dish is big enough, and the sauce is super creamy 😋 Thank you for the nice meal.

Its a nice little place tucked away on the street, perfect for lunch and dinner. The food was tasted really good and the service was next level. From taking the order at the table to grating cheese on our meals the experience was well worth the money.

Genuinely the best Carbonara I’ve ever had! The service is is top notch and the food is just incredible, they really know what they’re doing! I can completely understand why it’s so often booked out as their cuisine exceeds the quality of most Italian places in large cities. Next chance I get I’ll definitely be back.
Corey O — Google review
Had great expectations for this restaurant but unfortunately that wasnt our experience. We happened to book in on a Thursday night which is pasta night (where every second pasta dish ordered is $10). The place was very busy so we didn't think much of it when our food wasn't served quickly. However, I then realised that tables who ordered much later than us had their entrees, then their mains, at which point, we had neither. I asked the waitress about this, to which her response is that they are very busy, so I said that i understood that but it didn't explain why other tables after us received their food first. Anyhow, she said she would check. But no one came back for another 15 mins, so I hailed down another waitress to ask a similar question. She must've passed on the message, because the original waitress then reappeared... Not with an explanation or update, but to retake our orders. From scratch. Without a single word of apology. This was about an hour in sitting at the table with only our drinks. We eventually received our food. Still no apologies. Food was decent and tasty. But by then we were a bit over it unfortunately. The table next to us (who arrived later than us but finished two courses before we even received any of our food) said to us, as they left, that we should ask for compensation. But since we still ate the food, we didn't make a fuss. We suspected that the waitress didn't even dare to tell the manager or owner about what happened. The final blow came at the check out when the totals didn't add up. We queried it and it turns out they omitted to charge two of the pastas at the special $10. On pasta night when it was busy?! They fixed the error but again, no apologies or anything whatsoever. We may have just been unlucky, but if you visit on pasta night, be prepared to wait, and perhaps pay attention to the bill!
Michelle K — Google review
DO NOT COME HERE IF BUSY!,Came to this restaurant after seeing it on google, words cannot describe this place. We made a reservation for 6.30 and were seated by 6.20. Thus far everything was normal, we ordered food and sat there waiting, however after 20min the food had not arrived and after 30min tables who ordered their food after us started to recieve theirs. Seeing this we asked the waiter who took our order if she knew what was happening with our food. She told us she'd check with the kitchen. 30min later we hadn't seen the waiter again and so asked one of her colleagues the same question. 10min later the waiter who took our order came up and asked for our order again, as if we had just been seated and not already been waiting for an hour. When the food finally arrived all hope of salvaging a bad experience dissapeared, the spagehtti bolognese was incredibly watery and the rest of the pasta was nothing worth noting. As we paid the bill the same lady who took our original order served us, and over charged us by $35, upon further inquiry she seemed confident she had not made a mistake only to discover she had not applied the Pasta Night deal that the entire restaurant of customers was using (incredibly full upstairs and downstairs). After all of this commotion, there were no apologies made. 3 hours of my life I will never get back

Fish and chips takeaway
Fast food restaurant
Fish & chips restaurant
Mikes Seafood in Port Macquarie is a local favorite for its fresh and delicious seafood, particularly known for serving some of the best fish and chips in the area. The restaurant caters to gluten-free diners as well. Visitors praise the fresh fish, perfectly battered squid rings, and crispy yet fluffy chips. The friendly staff adds to the exceptional dining experience. If you're in town, Mikes Seafood is a must-visit spot for a satisfying seafood meal.
Amazingly delicious food! Had these Ocean Basket Pack for 2 Adults and 2 Kids! It was perfectly portioned, loads of chips. We had people asking us where did we purchase them! The fishes were a good size too! Definitely recommend
Zafar F — Google review
This fish and chips establishment is quite unacceptable. The staff were observed handling food without the use of gloves, and the frying oil appeared to be in poor condition. Despite ordering a meal for two adults and two children totaling $118.5, we were only provided with one set of cutlery. When requesting additional cutlery and a new cardboard plate due to the poor condition of the original packaging, we were denied by the elderly blonde woman working there. The older blonde woman present displayed rude and discriminatory behaviour towards us. The deep-fried food exhibited flavors reminiscent of aged oil and made us bloated. I don't recommend 😌

We eventually got the $20 fish n chips deal. We walked in and the lady in her late 50's early 60's was having an in depth conversation with what appeared to be a friend or acquaintance, we were left standing at the counter for several minutes while they had their gossip session. We were about to walk out when she finally acknowledged we were there. We placed the order and paid for it, we were the only customers, there was no other orders and it was a good 30-40 minute wait. The chips were good however the fish was vile, I literally gagged and spat it out onto the ground in was pretty much inedible. Tartare sauce was very strange watery texture and tasted almost like it was about to turn bad. I felt somewhat violated / ill after eating, the seagulls ended up getting most of it, I truly hope they were OK. 🤢🤮

Ordered a small serve chips & 2 potato scallops, told 20min wait, after we had paid!!! Middle-aged woman late 55 - 60yrs old, fair hair & complexion looked overwhelmed. We noted our order was placed 4th in dockets. Cooked, (no overcooked/burnt) scallops 1st then placed above cookers, started making batter and more batter & coating then cooking more & more fish. Earlier orders. It took over 1/2 an hour before we rec'd order & 4 numbers were called out one after the other. Weird way to do orders, the other people must have been waiting a huge amount of time. Read menu very expensive packs. Don't recommend! Hygiene was appalling. Older blonde woman goes from clothing to face. No hand washing. No gloves. Km

Be very careful of this shop and pricing my wife takes a vision impaired lady for a walk culminating in a visit to Mike's as they prefer Mike's to off the hook so the lady acknowledged her and took the order witch is always the same and payed when my wife went to pick it up she questioned the price as it should have been$24.00 and was charged $30.00 and the lady said to bad she should have asked for the specials I find that appalling as 1 she is visioned impaired ( blind ) 2 she is a regular and is always has the same food It is disappointing that the person who knows her has knowing her circumstances did not suggest the cheaper options I find that appalling and taking advantage of a vulnerable person. I realise it's a business and school holidays however I think it poor form on the owners part

Had high hopes considering the reviews. Wife and I order the grilled fish packs and unfortunately for us it did not resemble the images. Our fish of the day was old, dry and bland. The fish was not seasoned and the scallops were also dry and tasteless. The only thing that tasted fresh was the salad and the prawns. To add further to the dissatisfaction, my wife also got sick the next day. We ordered these meals on 21/6/25. Overall, disappointed.

Price is a bit on the higher side (though probably about average for this area) and portion sizes are a bit on the smaller side but in the end it was a very filling and delicious meal. Loaded fries were crisp and delicious. Burgers had nice thick juicy chicken fillets and overall tasted very nice. Milo malted thick shake was superb. Left feeling very full and content. Staff are also very friendly and no issues with the service.

Ordered the Beef Massive attack. The burger was good. The patty had good flavour to it and the sauce was good. It was filling and delicious. The fries were good but the seasoning was not evenly spread out. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant was good.

Really great experience couldn’t have asked for more. Went to grab a couple of takeaway burgers for myself my mum and my son. When the chef saw I was trying to work out something to get for my son he came over and actually helped when I told him what my son liked. He gave some very helpful suggestions. The serving staff are very very friendly with a smile on their face. The food here is amazing. I had a bacon and egg roll which was beautiful my son had one of the burgers with bacon and cheese and sauce on it and my mum also had a bacon and egg roll and all of us were very very happy they tasted delightful, thank you so much . You can really tell that your area of expertise is in the burger because every one of them was perfection.

What a fabulous find. Best burgers we have ever had. Big call however stand by the message. The Korean fried burger amazing. Fries perfect. Not to be missed if visiting Port Macquarie

Overpriced and completely Average. Ordered the Double Beef Massive Attack ($35) and fries ($5) takeaway and have to say for the price it was disappointing. Had to eat it with a Knife and Fork as bun was soggy. Not sure weather this was due to having to wait 10 to 15 mins for other people to order despite my order being ready. Maybe there should be some pro-active employees asking if anyone has ordered take away to avoid phone orders waiting too long.

Went here for a birthday. Was absolutely shocked that a $25 burger looked like a McDonalds cheeseburger. $24 nachos is a quarter bag of LITERAL out of the bag Doritos with some slop, and the salad was some stone cold burnt chicken pieces on a wet sloppy salad. I've eaten food from sketchy looking places in backstreet alleys in third world countries and have never in my entire life (I'm 32) been served food as appalling. There was a 40 minute wait time when the shop was rather empty on a friday night (I can see why), the birthday girl was served a milkshake by a half-cut looking bloke in a flanno who I at first mistook for another patron. I'm really surprised because the photos of the food on google reviews look absolutely amazing, but sadly are the complete opposite of what was received.
Tim — Google review
Soggy buns weren't great, fell apart while eating. Service and atmosphere wasn't anything special, and they forgot to add halloumi I'd paid for. New owner or new POS system made the interaction bit clunky, but maybe with some time and tweaks place will be alright. Fries were nice enough but to spend as much as I did I'd have been far better off going to a fast food joint and getting triple the food

Great spot overlooking Flynn's Beach. Not the cheapest place to get a bite, but not crazy expensive either. Quick and friendly service, quality food and coffee. Beware though, often very busy especially around summer and holiday season.

Absolutely outstanding experience at Sandbox Café in Port Macquarie! Chef Pete Evans (not the kooky Paleo Pete) delivered dishes with incredible presentation and bold, fresh flavors that were simply next level. The service was exceptional — friendly, attentive, and with a real personal touch. Chef Pete even came out to chat, which made the whole experience even more memorable. On top of that, the café has stunning views that make it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy amazing food. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

Genuinely one of the best cafes we have ever been to! We’ve been 2 mornings in a row now, can’t wait to go back again. Food was incredible. Service was excellent!!! All the staff were working incredibly hard to clear tables and get people seated as fast as possible. One of the workers (I assume a manager - he was all over it!!!). Food arrived to our table and he wasn’t happy with the quality of the halloumi so he returned and fixed it! (Honestly I didn’t even know anything was wrong!) He took time to check on everyone regarding meals - despite being run off his feet! Have never seen such hard working hospitality staff who all seem like they genuinely care about the service to their customers!!! Also, extra bonus we saw whales just off the shore! 1000/10!!!

During my recent adventure in Beachport, I stumbled upon a delightful gem known as Margaret & Sons Pasta Place. This family-run Italian restaurant truly embodies the essence of comfort and warmth that every traveler seeks. The menu is impressively diverse, featuring a variety of homemade dishes that are clearly marked for easy selection. Each plate was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, making it hard to resist indulging in dessert afterward.
A very charming restaurant that with an aesthetic that really speaks to its family owned authenticity. The atmosphere makes you feel at home. can’t go wrong with the home made sauces, the Lover of Meats pizza does something special that Pizza places can’t seem to get right with the sauces. Pasta and salad are an appropriate portion for the S/M/L options they give you. 10/10

This little pasta restaurant serves the tastiest pasta. Excellent choice of pasta dishes. Great tasting food. The softest yet cruchiest garlic bread. Good Selection of cheese cakes. We have going to the restaurant for over 5 years on our annual trip to Port Macquarie. Attended last night and it will be the last. I will start with the only positive, the young waitresses were lovely and did a great job. The food and wait times were terrible. Didn’t receive entree’s until almost 1 hour after arriving. Ordered garlic bread, and a pizza. The garlic bread was burnt, flavourless and looked like it was store bought pre-made. The pizza was soggy, and undercooked. The mains were ravioli and penne pesto. The dishes came out separate and we couldn’t eat together. The ravioli was over cooked and flavourless. We were watching the microwave being used all night to reheat food, and suspect our ravioli got the microwave treatment. The penne pesto was inedible. The penne was over cooked and like mush, the pesto was literally pesto out of a jar and it tasted raw, and we asked for chicken to be added. The chicken was hardly noticeable as there wasn’t much and it was finely shredded and added as an afterthought’s. I don’t think the dish was ‘microwaved’ long enough! We mentioned it to the waitress who went and spoke to who we assume is Margaret. The waitress returned and advised that they were more than happy to cook us another dish but we have to pay for both. The waitress was lovely and looked nervous and said ‘I hope you don’t yell at me’ rather than the Chef coming to speak with us, she sent her very young and lovely waitress to relay her message. Overall the waitresses were great, but the food was disgusting. The restaurant wasn’t overly busy, so that can’t be an excuse. The pasta also didn’t taste home made. I think the hardest worker in the kitchen was the microwave. Heard it going off all night. Avoid this place.

I don’t understand the 1 star reviews. I’m from the Gold Coast and came here for a family dinner. The staff were lovely, the food was great and the place random and is very old school Italian. The prices are reasonable and I would certainly come back. Also, it’s a BYO, so no rip off wine charges. If you don’t go expecting a flashy Italian joint, this will be the place.

We were told there is no dine-in after 6 pm but when we went at 7, people were sitting and eating, maybe it was fully booked. There was a 25 min wait on food and there was a buzzer given to us. However, no one bothered to ring the buzzer. We went after about 40 min and realized they forgot about the order. They did apologize though. The food was alright, everyone enjoyed.

Best pizza in mid north coast Best service for a pizza shop Superb taste Spoilt for choices I have visited the shop two times and loved the food. Garlic bread calazone style Vegetarian 🍕...all of the options were tasty , nicely flavored, not too spicy, perfect tomato sauce in it. The food tasted authentic and Italian on one hand and rustic and Australian..on the other. I think the freshest ingredients were used to prepare the pizzas. In Port Macquarie...this is the place to have authentic sumptuous delicious pizzas with generous portions as well.

OMG!!!! We have just moved to the area, and I can guarantee that if we had a pizza obsession in our last town there is no way we would have moved! Kids absolutely loved the ham and pineapple, the missus devoured the vegetarian (she threw on some jalapenos for extra punch, which was no drama for the guys), and I am in love with the pesto chicken pasta. Ordered via the app with great ease, delivered straight to the new house’s door by a very friendly delivery driver and the kids got to experience there first pizza and movie night on the new lounge room floor. 10 out of 10 guys can’t wait for our next feed.

I've been a regular to this pizza store for many years now and generally they are good but not so today. The Supreme pizza was drowning in tomato paste so much so that with every bite it would ooze out and couldn't taste anything but tomato paste making the base totally soggy. I'll give them one more try if it's as bad as today's then I'll ho elsewhere.

The restaurant is known for its generous portions of well-cooked food at reasonable prices, making it a favorite among visitors. The venue also features an outdoor play area, making it suitable for families.
Found this gem while staying nearby, it's definitely one of my favorite places in Port Macquarie. The spring rolls for the entree tasted awesome. The mains we had were absolutely delicious (red wine lamb and pork option), staff were friendly and prompt. Would return here every time we visit Port Macquarie.

Servers were so intensely uninterested in being here - I’ve never seen less interest in wait staff in my life. The whole restaurant looks like a tacky version of what should be a really nice spot. The one star is for the lovely serve of squid I had for my entree/main. I ordered an entree of squid and a bowl of chips (please see pictured) for $12 and $6 respectively for these dishes (squid was lovely but the bowl of chips was tiny). My partner had a chicken parmigiana which he didn’t like (I tasted and the cheese was burnt to the point of crumbling in your mouth). Don’t bother - save your $88 bill (how - what a waste of money!)

Better than average, and good for a bite to eat, but not worth taking a detour for. The dishes were okay. Probably better then expected, but the chips were too salty. Staff is friendly. The ambiance is poor

Fantastic job by Blue Water staff. Right from a greeting at the door to early food service. Even know we ordered before the actual food serving time, the chefs served up a wonderful meal. Table service was attentive and great. Give this hidden gem a try. It's also only a walk away to the beach.

Frozen pub schnity with nothing but potatoes...NO SAUSE or gravy or not even lettuce and tomato.. I've been from Melbourne to Cairns and eaten my share of schnitzels and I don't like writing reviews but after this plain no personality or taste schnitzel for $18.20 i had to write my first bad review. just eat at another bar!

The moment we walked in.. We knew that we were in the right place.. Friendly service.. Great Food.. And Delicious Cocktails.. Congratulations on a great venue for Dinner and to Celebrate our Wedding Anniversary.🥂🥂
Brendon L — Google review
Nice friendly staff to begin our evening, ordered one entree and a main gnocchi. The gnocchi was the size of an entree meal and they wanted to charge $27, only 6 pieces of gnocchi in the entire dish, came out on a plate. Spoke nicely to the staff about how small the serving size was for the price and then was spoken down to and glared at and made to feel unwelcome by the chef. Over priced for the size of the meals, they really need to look at size of meals for price considering they are just a pub style eatery.

Awesome spot for a fundraising event. Thank you for catering to my dietary requirement - all 3 courses were delicious

This eatery is celebrated not only for its exceptional service but also for its mouth-watering pizzas that feature a standout tomato sauce. While some patrons wish for more topping options, the extensive menu ensures there's something to satisfy every craving, from lunch to dinner and even dessert.
Excellent take away pizza. Friendly fast service. Fresh ingredients, hot and very tasty pizza. Very clean store. Outside on street tables only

Absolutely beautiful pizza! We ordered a large supreme with olives and anchovies, a small serve of buffalo wings (nice and spicy), small serve of salt and pepper squid, the churros and a small serve of rum n raisin ice cream. The toppings were perfect, the sides were awesome and the ice cream was amazing! Thank you Blackbox for a perfect dinner
Paul — Google review
I think the icecream flavour choices here are heaps better than the cow place down the road. I love the New York chunky choc and my husband loves the boysenberry.
Jess S — Google review
Lots of flavours but texture is not the best. I had high hopes since it had such high reviews. Some of the flavours tasted artificial vs natural. Maybe great for some but just not my taste.
Samuel L — Google review
Nice food, we enjoyed our pizzas. Good value for the price and it only took 15mins from ordering until eating so you can’t complain about that!

Absolutely delicious pizza and fantastic service. The satay chicken and margarita pizza was amazing. Highly recommend

Always great customer service by the staff and the food is always delicious, hot and fresh and compared to other pizza places blackbox is reasonable priced. the delivery driver last night went back to the Port store and got me another flavoured drink he went beyond to help me

Nestled just a short drive from the stunning beaches of Port Macquarie, Tacking Point Tavern is a beloved local gem that perfectly blends relaxation with contemporary flair. This family-friendly venue boasts an expansive beer garden and features Port Macquarie's largest outdoor screen, making it an ideal spot for sports enthusiasts to catch live games in style. For families dining out, Tacking Point Tavern makes the experience enjoyable and stress-free with its impressive indoor play area designed for kids of all ages.
Sweet lunch deals like pizza coming in at $17 will bring you in. This is a clean, well laid out dog-friendly pub with classic pub fare and a few unusual dishes. On our visit the steaks were far better than your average pub slabs of beef. Dogs are welcome in the garden. The staff are friendly.

Good food and great atmosphere. The rack of ribs was nice but a bit too dry. The pork belly special though was delicious and the chicken schnitzels even better!
Christian C — Google review
Food is pretty average, but the staff were extremely friendly and it seemed to be a popular place with a nice atmosphere! I had the chicken tacos, which was okay. The tenders were probably not hand breaded and the bbq taste was quite dominating. My partner had the fish and chips. The fish looked like a nice portion. Probably not the best in the area but pretty fairly priced!

We had another great night at ‘our local, Tacking Point Tavern. We popped in and it was buzzing. We jagged a table for three and grabbed some menus and drinks. Even though we are fairly new to the place we were greeted warmly and the dining room wait team recognised and welcomed us back. The food selection was great and the spiced corn and half rack ribs were even better than we remembered! We joined in with the meat raffles but laughed and said we aren’t likely to win. WINNERS twice one early one and the monster prize… thanks esp to the sponsor The Team at The Happy Butcher. Oh and scan the member join code for discounts and promotions. Dinner and drinks for 3 came in under $100. Bonus! Great place! Great team!

Booked a Table Tuesday night dinner and trivia, arrived they had the booking but not the table so we sat outside not to bad it was cold and a decent breeze. We ordered snitty's, well they were pitiful. Old oil dry and just greasy crumbs chicken nearly inedible. We left disappointed.

Sarah’s warmth and professionalism set the tone for an exceptional experience. Her attentiveness, genuine care, and effortless ability to make every guest feel welcome are a true credit to Tacking Point Tavern. Sarah went above and beyond. She embodies everything great hospitality should be gracious, efficient, and deeply committed to customer satisfaction. In a venue known for its vibrant atmosphere and coastal charm, Sarah stands out as a shining example of service excellence. Tacking Point Tavern is lucky to have her, and so are its guests. Thank you, Sarah, for making our visit unforgettable. You’re the reason we’ll be coming back!

Had a reunion at TPT last night with a group of 14 people. When taking our table we were told 30-35 minutes wait on food as the kitchen was extremely busy. Fine with us we were enjoying the catchup time. When we went to order we were told the kitchen was closed. This was 1 hour before advertised kitchen closing time. Told they were too busy to handle the volume of orders. Our table and other tables were left unable to have dinner. Sorry but not good enough.

Facade is a mysterious escape room center that is perfect for ages tweens and up. The staff are amazing and the puzzles are unique and challenging. It was such a great experience and so much fun that I would recommend it to everyone!
I thought it would be a great idea to come to facade as a first date activity. I took someone I'd never met and she had never been to an escape room,. She fell in love with it. We will definitely return. We learned a lot about each others problem solving, logic, and praise and how we delt with obstacles. We didn't make it out, but we'll be back. Highly recommended for a fun time.

My husband, father-in-law and I did the Detectives Office escape room and we had a blast! It was the perfect beginner-intermediate experience to introduce our dad to the escape room world. The staff are super friendly and accommodating, the puzzles are interesting and the room was well styled and expansive. We'll be recommending this place to friends and family, and we'll be back!
Teagan H — Google review
I came with my family and we enjoyed the experience thourghly, even though we nearly didnt beat the time. The person taking us through, Wade, was extremely welcoming and made it a memorable experience for the family. And, the room itself let everyone in the family (age range 13-48) experience and help out with different puzzles. It was great for everyone!
Archive S — Google review
We decided to do an escape room on a whim today, and what a great idea it was!! We had such a good time with the room and the post-escape experience was fantastic. Alex (our host) played into our goofy antics, and we ended up getting a leaderboard spot which resulted in a 15 minute colouring-in session to make our little timecards memorable. We always have a great time at facade and this visit was definitely no different 🔓🗝
Emma S — Google review
Had a lot of fun today! Tony our GM was amazing! We did the easiest room but it was still challenging and a good mystery! Will be back to tackle the harder ones next time we're in Port Macquarie!
Will — Google review
Had an awesome time. 6 of us (4 parents and 2 teens) went. All of us got a chance to solve puzzles and feel like super heroes. I won't spoil what goes on in the room - suffice to say its a great experience, we'll be booking again soon!
Owen W — Google review
Our group had a great experience. The staff were very helpful and accommodating and the rooms were well presented and engaging. We will definitely be back to try more rooms!!

We had a great time, our Game Master Angela really set the scene for us and was a great host. Today i took our Community Participation Group for the Detective's office and it blew my mind just how well they all worked together as a team. On the walk back to the office everyone couldn't stop talking about how much fun they had. And how this was the best outing we have had so far.... and are keen to do it again but next time do the Sabotage room.

The well-manicured Town Square is a popular spot for locals and tourists to relax. The park features colorful gardens, a fountain, and several benches and tables for visitors to enjoy. There's also a pond where you can find fish swimming around. In the center of the square is a large monument commemorating all the residents who died in World War II.
Always beautiful town square, with some new interesting signage, always enjoyed walking around the breakwall looking at all the painted rocks, felt that it was one of the unique attractions in Port. Great place to spend new years eve or Australia day.

Town Square is a magic place. You have the best of both worlds. Great eating places for example Chop&Chill open 7 days the food is excellent as is the service. It is also pet friendly which is quite rare in this area. Love this place. You can sit outside with your best friend and take in the fabulous view.
