Seafood restaurant
Oyster bar restaurant
Restaurant
Neptune Oyster is a small, upscale oyster bar located in Boston's North End, just a short distance from the water. The restaurant offers a variety of fresh seafood options, including oysters, lobster rolls, octopus, scallops, and sea urchins. With only 22 chairs and additional seating at the long marble bar, patrons can watch skilled oyster shuckers prepare over a dozen different types of bivalves.
This was my second time at Neptune Oyster since I’ve been visiting Boston for the last few years. You have to wait outside till the server sees you. This place is small but completely packed. They only have enough spots for maybe 50 people to eat. Probably one of the best Lobster Rolls in my life. The servers and staff were very nice, we ordered 3 lobster rolls and some oysters. Absolutely a great time. It’s loud in there new use it is such a small spot. If you are looking for a local spot that’s got great atmosphere and food this is the spot for you. Take time to enjoy the city and the local spots.
Patrick K — Google review
It is a legendary eatery in Boston, and the food and ambiance clearly show how it rose to the title. The oysters are definitely a must, they have got an extensive ordering sheet complete with the flavour profiles of each oyster which they selected and shucked to perfection. Also don’t forget to get the giant clams that were juicy and tasty. I really liked all the other food too, they have a daily special that changes all the time and whilst we were here we had the clams pasta which was just delicious. Don’t be afraid of the crowd, you are in for a treat.
Farid H — Google review
The line for Neptune is literally all-day, but most def worth the wait! Smaller parties of two or less are more likely seated faster and sooner and with other small parties, which we didn't mind at all. Oh yeah, we were a party of ✌️. There was a party of eight in front of us and by the time we finished eating they were still waiting. It's a small spot AND had excellent service and food was great! We had a late lunch/snack before dinner and the portions were great. We finished everything. I think I'm used to the lobster in the roll being more buttery, but it was still good. My bf doesn't really like seafood much, but he loved the yellowfin crostini and wanted more. We would definitely come back again the next time we're in Boston.
Cynthia T — Google review
Hands down, arguably the best seafood restaurant in Boston! Super fresh, generous portions! I usually go for the lobster roll, but the sea bass, lobster spaghetti (omg I’m still dreaming about this one), uni toast, raw oysters are all divine! Everything tastes like the ocean, everything is perfectly cooked. Super friendly service - shoutout to Jillian that really made our day! The only negative? No Rez… first come, first serve (which is really democratic…), so go early and try to snag a table! Your patience will be rewarded!
Christina C — Google review
Absolutely worth the wait! Neptune has a cozy, charming vibe—even though seating is a bit tight, it just adds to the atmosphere. We waited about an hour and a half for a table for three, but it was worth it. The oysters were incredibly fresh and perfectly balanced, and the lobster roll was out of this world—100% recommend! If you’re not feeling seafood, the 16oz bone-in ribeye is amazing too—juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. These guys need to expand!
Haris V — Google review
Be prepared to sit shoulder to shoulder with a stranger, but the amazing food makes it worth it!! I walked in on a Monday around 5pm and luckily was able to skip the line for a seat at the bar. The octopus was definitely my favorite of the night. It's grilled perfectly and served with tender pieces of cauliflower. The lobster roll was pretty good too. I ordered it hot and it came with a really generous portion of lobster meat, though I wish I had opted for the cold version for some more flavor. Come with a small group, definitely no larger than 4.
Shanel H — Google review
We waited around 15 min, and the queue got super long after. The oysters are a must, I loved how they have a list of oysters and clams and their taste profile so you can choose which one would you like to try. The price is reasonable and there’s so much variety. The razor clam is flavourful, and lobster roll is fresh and warm with juicy meat. The lobster seems to lack a bit of taste, which might be just our luck. Fries are great. The calamari is not particularly great or boring, but for the price point I expected more flavour with the batter and sweet squid. When it’s special for the night and not in the menu, make sure to ask for price so you don’t get a shock at payment.
Yanisa S — Google review
Pretty cozy place. You don’t have to wait if you go for lunch in weekdays. One of the waiter was emotionaless looking hence 4 stars but the rest were super friendly. Oysters are fresh and clam chowder were super flavorful. Lobster roll unfortunately was a bit below expectation in a sense that it’s a bit overcooked and bread was not toasted

Seafood restaurant
Seafood market
James Hook & Co is a family-owned seafood company that has been a Boston landmark since 1925. Located on the waterfront, this small red shanty offers live lobsters and prepared shellfish fare for takeout. The establishment's lobster rolls are highly praised for their simplicity and quality, with chunks of fresh Maine lobster dressed in mayo and served in a toasted bun.
Few names in Boston are as synonymous with lobster as James Hook & Co., a family-owned institution that has been serving locals and visitors alike since 1925. Situated on the waterfront, the restaurant exudes the nostalgic charm and character of classic New England dining—unpretentious, welcoming, and rooted in tradition. The menu highlights the very best of what Boston has to offer, and the seafood here speaks for itself. The baked clams arrive brimming with flavor, their tender texture complemented by a delicate balance of seasoning. They set the stage perfectly for the star of the show: the lobster roll. Served warm with butter, the roll embodies everything one could hope for in this quintessential New England dish. The lobster meat is sweet, fresh, and impeccably cooked, nestled in a perfectly toasted bun that allows the natural flavors to shine. It is, without exaggeration, among the finest lobster rolls I have ever tasted. What makes James Hook & Co. so special is not only the quality of its seafood but also its authenticity. This is a place where tradition is honored and simplicity is celebrated. There are no unnecessary embellishments—just pristine ingredients, prepared with confidence and respect for the region’s culinary heritage. For anyone visiting Boston, a stop at James Hook & Co. is essential. Whether it’s for a quick lobster roll at lunch or a leisurely seafood feast, this landmark establishment delivers a taste of New England at its best, ensuring that every bite carries with it a piece of Boston’s maritime soul.

We came to this place on our visit to Boston because of its reputation and being listed on almost every travel video as a recommendation. Maybe, we didn’t order it right, but it was just okay. We got the large lobster roll w/ mayo to share and some oysters cause my girlfriend is a huge oyster fan. She said the oysters were great, super fresh — makes sense since its right next to the ocean. The lobster roll, in my opinion, was just.. okay and it was disappointing cause it’s almost $35-40 for the roll. The amount of lobster justified the price, but it needed a little more love. It just seemed to quite literally be lobster tossed in some mayo and slapped on a cold roll. I feel like we could find something similar for a lot cheaper elsewhere. I still think it’s worth a try being a Boston staple when visiting, but I’ll be looking to see if there’s something out there for a better price with a little more love, and a little more welcoming.
That G — Google review
The Lobster is worth the hype!! Absolutely phenomenal roll with loads of chunky delicious lobster situated in a soft roll. I ordered mine without mayonnaise and poured on the hot butter! Delicious! The clam chowder was also super satisfying and is no slouch. Nice large clams and very tasty. All it needed was some pepper in my opinion but overall, 10/10 would recommend!!
Michael J — Google review
James Hook & Co had the most amazing and authentic lobster roll we tried anywhere in Maine, Massachusetts or Rhode Island on our recent trip. They absolutely loaded the roll with fresh lobster and kept it super simple and authentic. For a great lobster roll the price was fair, but not cheap. Atmosphere is super laid back. We waited in line mostly outside the building, ordered at a counter, waited just a couple minutes for food, then found an outside table. (some tables are in more enclosed glass structures) Highly recommend the experience of eating at this approx 100 year old Boston lobster restaurant. (their other food was delicious too!)
Joe B — Google review
James Hook was a fantastic spot. We went on a Monday/Tuesday evening and had no wait, and our food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. It is a little on the pricier side, but that’s expected for lobster rolls and the location. The clam chowder was straightforward and good, and the lobster roll was definitely one of the better ones we’ve had in Boston. We would definitely return, but we’re also open to trying other spots to compare.
G W — Google review
James Hook is the kind of place that reminds you why Boston owns the lobster roll game. The lobster is sweet, rich, and perfectly cooked, piled high in a simple toasted bun without any pretension. It’s easily one of the best I’ve ever had, hot or cold, and feels like the benchmark everyone else is chasing. The setup is casual and tight but efficient, the kind of spot where you balance your tray and make room for the next hungry group without complaint. The large lobster and crab tanks inside keep kids entertained and add to the charm of the place. There’s no bar, just a cooler with sodas and water, but it somehow fits. The Seaport location is perfect for a stroll afterward, and while it’s undeniably touristy, it’s touristy for all the right reasons. At roughly forty dollars a roll, it’s not cheap, but it’s worth it for the quality and the experience. James Hook remains a quintessential Boston stop—fast, friendly, and all about the lobster.
Brant B — Google review
I've been eating a lot of clean chowder all over town and while the one here is yummy, I wanted something different so I opted for the lobster bisque and it was lovely! I got myself a buttered lobster roll and a stuffed scallop. All were delicious! No wonder they are known for it! You order inside, find a table- either in a heated sitting area or just outdoors and wait for your number to be called. The bathroom is a porter potty outside down the ramp. The place gives off a nice friendly vibe and it's quite busy despite the odd time of day. Worth checking out if you are in Boston.
Amy B — Google review
Lobster Roll, a must if you go to Boston. James Hook & Co is just the most famous lobster roll here, you can call it a tourist trap if you’d like but heck, at least you get out feeling super happy. Pictured: Large Lobster Roll + Butter Taste: 10/10 Cute prop outside, next to the water. I think it’s a must try! There was no line, plenty of seating!

Row 34 is a trendy restaurant known for its wide selection of oysters, fish dishes, and craft beers. The name comes from the signature variety grown at Island Creek Oyster Farm in Duxbury Bay. With multiple locations across New England, including Boston's Fort Point, Burlington, Portsmouth, N.H., and Kendall Square in Cambridge, Row 34 has become a seafood staple.
Came here for dinner Saturday night—good thing we had reservations because it was busy! Got seated in the back right side of the restaurant where it felt more dim lit than the other side by the kitchen. Was a bit too dark for my preference even with a small candle on the table. Food was delicious! For appetizers, Raw Oysters were good and the Shrimp Pimento & Bluefish Pate spreads were excellent. For entrees, enjoyed both the Warm Buttered Lobster Roll and Fish & Chips! Didn’t eat the potato chips, they looked super greasy. Cocktails were great—loved the Dirty Gin Martini and GrandTen Vodka Cordial Freezer Martini! Service was great as well. Overall, the restaurant has a good ambiance. One thing I would flag is that they have these black metal plates sticking out from the wooden pillars in the front area—if you are not careful you can injure yourself, I almost hit the plate on my way to the restroom.

This place blew our minds! We had to come back two nights in a row. We were lucky to find a table since we didn’t have a reservation. Everything we tried from the menu was amazing. The New England Clam Chowder, tuna crudo, calamari, oyster slider, warm lobster roll, and monk fish were all incredible. The desserts were just as delicious! This is a must-try place. Even though the lobster roll is on the higher end of the price range, it’s worth every penny. I wish they have a spot in New York since this would be my go to place.

My husband, brother-in-law, and I stopped into Row 34 for a quick dinner before heading to the airport, and it did not disappoint! I’d heard so many great things about this place and was excited to finally try it. We originally came for the lobster rolls, but since the market price was $50 that night, we decided to mix it up and ordered the salmon poke bowl, the ceviche, the salmon entrée, and of course, a bowl of clam chowder. Everything was delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The chowder was creamy and rich without being heavy, and the seafood dishes tasted incredibly fresh. Service was just as impressive — multiple staff members checked in on us, and everything came out at the perfect pace. Overall, Row 34 absolutely lives up to the hype. Great food, friendly service, and a lively Seaport atmosphere — I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Boston.
Alli G — Google review
The front desk lady wasn’t friendly. My husband and I came in and asked for a table. Although half of the restaurant was empty, she said they were fully booked. We ended up staying for dinner anyway, and even after 1.5 hours, many of those tables were still unoccupied. We were seated near the bar, which turned out to be a good spot. The bartender was amazing and very professional, the kitchen staff worked hard, and the food was absolutely delicious — everything fresh and flavorful.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Row 34 – Boston Row 34 absolutely lived up to the hype! The moment we walked in, the place had that perfect mix of modern, cozy, and lively. The service was quick, friendly, and super knowledgeable — they really know their seafood here. The oysters were incredibly fresh, probably the best I’ve had in a long time. And the Warm Buttered Lobster Roll? Next level. Perfectly toasted roll, juicy lobster, and just the right amount of butter. Every bite was crazy good. We also tried a few small plates, and everything came out hot and full of flavor. You can tell they care about quality. If you’re visiting Boston, Row 34 is a must — amazing seafood, great vibes, and worth every dollar. I’ll definitely be back! 🦞✨
Mo A — Google review
I stopped by Row 34 in Boston’s Seaport District to try some clams and oysters. The place was pretty crowded, but they quickly found me a seat at the bar. I had a few oysters from their raw bar — super fresh and delicious — and finished with the bay scallops and squid ink campanelle. Service was friendly and quick. Great spot for seafood lovers, definitely worth stopping by for dinner if you’re in the area!
Arnaud V — Google review
Row 34 offers a variety of truly excellent seafood dishes and a few other options for those who prefer beef or chicken. I’ve dined here a few times for lunch or dinner and always been very satisfied with the customer service and food quality. Tonight’s server Lauren was great. Both the salmon and tuna crudo, the crab cake, fish tacos, beet salad and smoked scallops were all delicious. They have an excellent raw bar and plentiful beer and wine selections. Seating options include indoor, outdoor and high top. Reservations are recommended because this is a popular spot. Paid garage, lot and street parking are all within a block. Enjoy!

Yankee Lobster is a casual, counter-serve seafood spot located near the Boston Fish Pier. It offers fresh lobster and crobster rolls, fish stew, blackened salmon, fried shrimp platters, and more. The restaurant provides a charming Seaport dining experience with outdoor patio seating that overlooks the harbor. Visitors can savor buttery lobster rolls and other seafood options like crab cake sandwiches and stuffed haddock while enjoying picturesque views of the Boston Inner Harbor.
Get in line to order, then find a table to sit down. They will bring the food to your table. We ordered the traditional lobster roll with fries ($41), the garden salad ($7) with added lobster meat ($24), and the fried calamari ($16). Quantities were more than adequate. The lobster roll was the largest we’ve head. The best part was the lobsters, they were fresh & plenty. The fried calamari was fresh & lightly fried perfectly. Everything was delicious, worth a repeat visit.
Hung D — Google review
What an excellent place!! This is beyond 5 stars. The crobster (lobster and crab) was amazing with tons of fresh meat in a bun. It was not salty at all or mixed w mayo or aoli sauce so it was perfect naturally so you could appreciate the meat. It came w fries that I didn’t like - not real crispy, too thick and didn’t have good flavor for the potato. And the steamers were also fresh and lots of fun w butter. Indoor and outdoor seating and outdoor seating was really nice because they have heat lamps and it’s enclosed. It’s toasty for outdoor seating even when it’s 45 degrees F outside so very nice. I would eat that crobster daily!
Karina K — Google review
Easygoing Seaport spot that’s been around forever and even had its moment on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. The clam chowder is the clear standout: thick, rich, and about as comforting as it gets. The lobster roll is generous and well done, though not quite city-best. The Bloody Mary is strong, spicy, and packed with extras, a great match for the seafood. Service is friendly but light, somewhere between counter and table service. The setting is casual with indoor and outdoor seating and a relaxed harbor feel. You’ll probably like it for what it is: a solid, classic Boston seafood stop that hits the spot, even if it won’t change your life.
Brant B — Google review
It does not get any better than this! Lobster roll here is one of the best that l have ever had! ice cold biggest chunks of lobster meat mmmm mmmm! The fries were crispy and hot and the cole slaw was fresh and cold. One of my favorites in Boston. Lobster roll is a must!! In a city where clam chowder is huge here it was okay not my top choice...But that lobster roll has my mouth watering as we speak! 100% recommend!
Hagz — Google review
It is an intresting place. It looks like shack by the water, but serves fine restaurant quality food. We tried three types of lobsters. They were fantastic. Lobster bisque was outstanding. Very often chefs overload it with pepper. This one was perfect, not too salted, not really spicy. We had a dinner and next day ordered take out for the road.
Alex Z — Google review
Always a must visit for me when I visit Boston! Amazing lobster rolls, I always either get the traditional or the hot buttered roll. You can't go wrong either way. The lobster bisque also has a ton of delicious lobster meat and medium is a pretty decent sized portion for two to share. Also tried a crab roll this time, very delicious as well. Tons of crab meat with a nice fresh mayo dressing!
Kevin L — Google review
Ordered the crab cake sandwich and lobster bisque to go. The place is small inside and the music was too loud. Crab cake was over cooked and dry but still edible with the sauce. Too much French fries. Would’ve preferred just a plain baked potato instead. Lobster bisque was a little salty and had mostly claw pieces. No flavor. So disappointed . Paid $32 . Save your money and try someplace else. Nothing to write home about. 👎🏼
Josh C — Google review
Love it here! The lobster roll is delicious and the meat is so tender! Chowder is good. The tables are seat yourself and some days there is a line. Plenty of spaces to order take out and sit. Cool ambiance and very New England. They give you a little bouy table marker. Highly recommend pairing it with a walk along the water.

Saltie Girl is a charming raw bar located in Back Bay, Boston. The restaurant offers a variety of seafood dishes, including tinned fish options. The menu features fresh-shucked oysters, torched salmon belly with charred avocado, smoked fish, seafood-topped toasts, and a butter-drenched warm lobster roll.
Saltie girl was packed when we went, but we had a reservation so we didn’t have to wait. We were seated inside—patio seating didn’t seem to be available for reservations. The atmosphere was lively, though a little too crowded to have an easy conversation. The food, however, was really good and beautifully presented! The oysters were fresh and delicious, and we ordered a variety of cocktails to sample—honeydew, passion fruit, and grapefruit—all of which were excellent. The highlight was definitely the lobster rolls, which were perfectly prepared. Overall, a really good experience with great food and drinks.

Saltie Girl completely lived up to the hype. The lobster roll was buttery and perfectly balanced; One of the best I’ve ever had. The oysters were incredibly fresh and paired with great sauces. The atmosphere is lively but intimate, making it a perfect spot for seafood lovers. Service was attentive, and everything came out at the perfect pace. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Boston. Definitely worth the stop!

Saltie Girl was highly recommended when I was researching “best warm lobster roll” in Boston! It definitely lived up to the hype. We came in for lunch (after being denied the day before because we didn’t have a reso - recommend making one online!). We started with the cinnamon bun appetizer. It was great!! Then, my boyfriend got the warm lobster roll and he loved it. It was beautifully plated too! I got the fish and chips - so tasty. Very crunchy on the outside, but tender fish inside! The atmosphere was very cool, but the tables were so close together. The couple next to us started to strike up conversation because we were basically sitting at the same table… But everything else was great! We’ll be back!

We had a great time in Saltie Girl. The shrimp cocktail is AMAZING. Highly recommend it. I had the smoked salmon bagel which was nice but I expected more from the bagel itself. My sister had the lobster roll which she enjoyed. We had a reservation and still had to wait about 20 min to get seated. Also getting the waiters attention to order food was a challenge but then everything went smoothly.

This is THE dining experience! True, authentic, and full of great food. The place looks amazing so chic. Even the front desk ladies look like super models. The staff are so welcome and nice, the food tastes like heaven. They could squeeze us in on the weekend and we are so grateful. The caviar dessert is so creative. Their cocktails are good and served creative as well. This is THE place and worth the hype.

We made a reservation at Salty Girl after seeing so many people on TikTok recommending it....we were NOT disappointed! The restaurant looks gorgeous and the atmosphere was great. We got great service from the girls at the front and the waitress at our table. We ordered the lobster roll and the truffle fries. Both were fantastic. The bread was warm and soft, the lobster was tasty and the truffle fries were excellent. We then shared the chocolate chip cookie with a little vanilla ice cream. The cookie was tasty and the ice cream was too. I would definitely add this to my list of must-do things in Boston.
Pall P — Google review
Atmosphere inside was lovely although we made a reservation but got put in the back bar. I would specify you want to sit in the front dining area to get full effect of Saltie Girl Vibe. The SWEETBOY SWEETBUNS were out of this world! I got the lobster and waffles and they were pretty amazing! My daughter got steak and eggs and said it was beyond On Point. Our friends both got Lobster Rills and said they were fabulous!

Excellent staff, great menu with seafood focus with classics and specials, lovely ambience. We went to dinner both times but would recommend making a reservation unless you have a small party of 2 and you might be lucky with bar seating. I think their drink menu is simple and delicious. Would recommend anything seafood related and try something new!

Pauli's is a popular spot known for its affordable subs, wraps, and Italian dishes. The menu includes lobster grilled cheese sandwiches, avocado-lobster salad, and classic New England-style lobster rolls. One of the highlights is the U.S.S. Lobstitution, featuring 28 ounces of fresh lobster meat and mayo in two long sub rolls. Additionally, Pauli's ships lobster roll kits nationwide for those missing home.
If you’re looking for the best lobster rolls in Boston, Pauli’s is the place. We’ve only ever ordered the lobster rolls—because they’re that good, we haven’t been able to try anything else! Packed with fresh, tender lobster meat and just the right amount of seasoning and dressing, every bite is rich, flavorful, and satisfying. The rolls are buttery and perfectly toasted, and the portion sizes are super generous. It’s a casual, no-frills spot, but the quality speaks for itself. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, Pauli’s lobster rolls are a must. Tip: Order your food to go and enjoy it at North End Park—just a short walk away. Great views, plenty of seating, and the perfect way to soak in the neighborhood!

My friend recommended Pauli’s in Boston, so of course I had to try it! We were hungry for breakfast and ordered the Hot Lobster Rolls, Clam Chowder, and a breakfast plate with toasted bread, eggs, steak, and potatoes. The food was so delicious! The breakfast was a bit oily, but the clam chowder and lobster rolls were absolutely amazing. Since there were three of us, it was easy to share everything. Definitely worth it, the food was great, the place had a nice vibe, and the front desk staff were really friendly. Honestly, I’d love to try more, but since we’re just visiting, we’ll save room for other spots too.

I’ll preface this with the fact that I’m not a lobster fan. I prefer crab 🦀 but the lobster 🦞 roll was really good! It’s worth a trip in, even if you’re not a huge fan. The employees here were super friendly and I loved hearing the Boston accent of the guy at the counter. 😆 It is a cozy place to stop in and warm up and have some delicious food. Delicious onion rings and the chicken ziti pasta was also AMAZING! I took it back to my Airbnb to finish for lunch as the portion was large. I will definitely come here again when in the area!
Amanda S — Google review
We were on the hunt for a lobster roll. Decided to go to Pauli’s vs waiting in an extremely long line down the street. Our lobster roll connoisseur RAVED over her roll, stating it was the best she’s ever had…and while the line was not out the door, the large number of to go orders and the local Fire Dept guys there to eat says it all!! Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food, everything we ordered was amazing!
Cindy H — Google review
Pros: delicious, friendly staff, normal pricing for the area Cons: can get busy, not much seating I had the buttered lobster roll. My first one ever and it lived up to its hype. Glad I chose Pauli’s to be the one. The fries I ordered with it were fresh, crispy and good. The Momma Luca sandwich was also very good. The chicken on it was very flavorful and the sandwich itself was pretty big. I forgot to take a pic but I plan on returning to try their cold lobster roll. So if I get the momma Luca again, I’ll get a picture. Food didn’t seem to take too long to come out. I got there when there were only a few people in front of me, but the service got busy as I was waiting. All the food seemed to be coming out pretty quick. Highly recommend!

Was visiting Boston and had to get a lobster roll. Since it had good reviews I came here and got a large hot lobster roll, side of fries and clam chowder. The lobster roll was not good. The meat was tough and didn't taste much butter. I will give them credit for loading it up with lobster meat. Fries were just OK. The clam chowder was very good though. Spent a total of $75 which was not worth it.

B&G Oysters is a popular and upscale seafood restaurant known for its cozy interior and patio seating. Chef Barbara Lynch's establishment offers one of the city's best outdoor patios, where guests can enjoy a delightful dining experience. The restaurant is famous for its lobster roll, which is a signature dish available year-round. Additionally, B&G Oysters is renowned for its fried oysters and excellent service.
It was my first true seafood adventure, and I definitely picked the right spot! Cozy, upscale, comfy, and friendly vibes abound!! I tried clam chowder for the first time, and the flavors were exceptional. Truly, so so good. My waitress, April, was fully invested in my seafood journey and gave me fresh oyster to try. My mind was blown. I have clearly been missing out. Next came the lobster arancini - I wanted a slow intro to lobster - and YUM!! Paired with a glass of crisp bubble, these dishes were more than I bargined for in the best way possible. I treated myself to the lemon tart with raspberry, and I died of tart happiness. 20/10 Would bring my humans here.

In town for a long weekend we decided to try B&G Oysters. The lobster roll and the oysters were delicious and fresh! It is a comfy open kitchen concept and we had no trouble getting a table. It was the perfect spot for lunch!
Jessica R — Google review
Possibly the best tasting raw oyster i’ve ever had! I did not try too many, but I wish i had more of raw rather than fried. The soft shell crab BLT was a hefty meal on its own as well! fries were well cooked and the sandwich was perfectly balanced
Jan D — Google review
What they charge for a lobster roll here is criminal for what was provided. A soggy bun with too much butter and rubbery scraps of lobster (no claw or tail meat to be seen). Fries were a bit soggy despite having come out of the fryer just moments before. Chowder was ok and the salad was the bare minimum you’d expect to get for $19. Oysters were fresh and decently presented. Overall a bit of a tourist trap, not sure how it makes it on the list of classic places to eat in Boston.
Dickie — Google review
We were in town for a short stay and decided to try out B&G Oysters as we were craving some fresh seafood. It did not disappoint! The oysters, mussels, and calamari were all delicious and at *peak* freshness. In fact, we had mussels again at a different restaurant later in the day and immediately noticed the difference in quality. The service was incredible as well. It was a hot day so we sat inside, but their back patio is perfect for an intimate meal. I highly recommend stopping in at B&G when you're in the mood for fresh seafood!

Good! What is there to say? If you are looking for a good place to have dinner in the area, B&G Oysters is the place to be. Open kitchen concept to create a bigger space ambiance with slightly limited indoor seating. Surprisingly there were quite a number of tables with kids too! The calamari — you can nevee go wrong with fried food, their raw oysters are amazing! Island Creek will always be the best tasting for me. The cocktail sauce they make is delicious with the oysters as well. For entree the scallops were perfectly cooked, flavors and texture blended well in the dish. As for dessert, banana pudding is banana pudding— maybe also try the chocolate mousse and let me know! Drinks we had the Bee’s Knees cocktail and 1 glass of 2022 Rose. It went perfectly with the apps. The only thing is that we were always asked if we’re done with our plate. Anyway— Til next time! Maybe brunch!
Celine T — Google review
It was such a nice place for a dinner. It's located in half a basement, so there isn't much view, and it also gets quite noisy once busy due to the low ceilings, but it's still nice. All the ratings put their chowder very high, and I agree with that. For the main, we shared seafood bake, which turned to be more of a "half a lobster with clams", not what we expected, but we still enjoyed it very much.
Alex — Google review
As a seafood lover, B&G oysters has always been on top of my list for brunch. Recent got the chance to visit, but the overall experience left a lot to be desired. The place initially seemed welcoming with its open kitchen concept, and it was interesting watch the staffs shuck our oysters. Among the four types of oysters we got, Wellfleet had the best texture and a mildly sweet flavor that we enjoyed. The umami oysters were also one of our favorites with their unique aftertaste. The shrimps and the clams were good, but the clams seemed too small for their price. The two appetizer dishes were the standouts. The fried oysters went nicely with the tartare sauce, and the shredded lettuce helped tone down the greasiness. The calamaris were also super crispy and the spicy aioli sauce was one of the best I’ve had. Our disappointment with the meal started with the entrées. The lobster roll was mediocre at best. With the lobster meat cut into tiny pieces, it was difficult to enjoy its flavor. The fries and the buttered toast were okay, but it certainly wasn’t worth its price. Overall, great place for fried seafood and fresh oysters, but beware of the overpriced and disappointing entrées.

For inventive seafood that is sure to please, Eventide Fenway is the perfect place to visit. With fresh-shucked oysters and creative dishes like lobster rolls, this oyster bar restaurant has something for everyone. Plus, the quick service makes it a great option for lunch on the go.
TikTok recommended this spot for lobster rolls and they were spot on! Eventide offers both a warm lobster roll in brown butter sauce and a cold one, and I have been craving that warm one ever since. The oysters were so fresh and delicious! Perfect spot for fresh shucked oysters. We went with our server's recommendation and he did not miss. The lobster stew was just okay for me. The scallop dumpling was great! Needed a little more scallops to balance with the prep style of the dumpling. Oyster shooters were outstanding and fun. The dirty martini and espresso martini were perfect. The brown butter soft serve was DELICIOUS! OMG! Great spot, highly recommend.

Best clam chowder I’ve had in years! Lobster rolls are smaller than traditional size but super delicious. I prefer cold mayo ones, crispy bread roll full of lobster meat 🦞 Fried calamari was also amazing.

Just tried the One Way To Rio and absolutely fell in love! It’s a beautiful twist on Brazil’s national cocktail, the Caipirinha. The black mission fig–infused cachaça balances perfectly with ginger, lime, and a touch of sugar. Not too sweet! just smooth, bright, and wonderfully layered. The fig on top is the perfect finish. Well done 🍹👏🏼 also the brown butter soft serve is to die for! 10/10

I can’t recommend this place enough! We LOVED our waitress Zoe, so helpful with all the recommendations and such a great and joyful person. Overall we had a perfect lunch and the lobster roll was the best of our life (I also liked that it wasn’t giant as I always see in America). Even the desserts, which were soft serve and hand apple pie, were amazing. I’m very happy I decided to come here. For what regards the prices, I think they reflect the quality, and compared Europe, the oyster’s prices were lower!
Gaia G — Google review
The clam chowder was flavorful and had whole clams in it, which is something you don't often see, and instead of the ubiquitous plastic container of hexagonal oyster crackers, they give you a small packet of crispbread which is wonderful in the chowder. The brown butter lobster roll was equally delicious, with just a touch of spice. The portions are a little bit small, so you're not overwhelmed with the food, still have room for dessert. The service was quick and friendly and attentatively efficient
Daniel K — Google review
Their clam chowder isn’t like most others — it’s not thick, but light and soupy. The style is very similar to the one at Hog Island Oyster Co. in San Francisco. The lobster roll looks small, but it’s packed with meat. I really enjoyed it.

Everything was amazing , James was so attentive and informative with everything on the menu I fully enjoyed the lobster roll so much I took one to go. Both oyster shooter were delishhhh. My first time in Boston this has made this overall the best experience!!

I used to drive up to their Portland location as often as I could, so I was genuinely thrilled when I heard they were opening in Fenway. Eventide’s oysters remain unmatched in my opinion, and their lobster rolls are still heavenly, even if on the smaller side. I still dream about the salmon tacos they used to serve; they were absolutely phenomenal. I remember they told us to pay $5 for extra taco shells, which was hilarious. In the past, they used portable POS systems without providing paper checks, making it hard to clearly see the itemized billing—especially with administrative fees added post-subtotal. It left me wondering if the lack of transparency was deliberate. I appreciated that during our most recent visit, they brought a proper paper check. That felt like a much-needed improvement. However, I was disappointed to find that overall service has declined. In the past, staff were warm and engaging, but this time, they seemed very unhappy, almost as if they were reluctantly going through the motions. Our chairs still had crumbs from previous diners, which, for a restaurant positioned in the higher price range (particularly given the modest portion sizes), felt below standard. The clam chowder also seemed noticeably smaller than before. I fully understand that operating costs in Fenway must be significant, but unfortunately, this location continues to fall short of the experience I remember and love from Portland—for different reasons each time. That said, I’ll still return for the oysters, which are consistently excellent. I do hope they consider relocating or rethinking the current model—perhaps then the atmosphere, service, and overall experience would better reflect the quality of the food.

Belle Isle Seafood is a local seafood spot located in Winthrop, offering a variety of fresh and fried seafood dishes. The spare, industrial space provides views of the inlet and the city skyline. One of their standout items is the large lobster roll, boasting generous portions of tender tail, knuckle, and claw meat nestled in a traditional grilled and buttered hot dog bun with mayo and melted butter.
Great food.. great service! Ask for Dave ..gave great recommendation on menu. He was helpful with directions and world traveling advice. Very personable. Interacted well with the family. Ordered lobster pie and fried clams. Very very good...

The service was terrific, and the staff was kind and accommodating. They even brought me Old Bay so I could spice it up. The view was great, and it’s not far from the airport. However, the fries had no salt or seasoning; they were hot. The crab cakes either had a lot of breading or an odd taste of bread. Some may like it, but I may be spoiled having had crab cakes from Baltimore. It’s a lovely spot; maybe other items are worth trying.

Visited July 12 Went here with my wife and her sister on a Saturday afternoon and it was a great time. Food was delicious. Got a classic lobster roll and my wife got a bunch of lobster with some onion rings as she can't eat gluten. Beautiful location on the water with lots of seating inside and outside. Came here after watching the Anthony Bourdain episode where he goes here. Highly recommend!

Great lobster rolls. The fried calamari was a bit crunchy due to a thick batter, otherwise it was okay. The fried shrimp appeared to be commercially made. One one in our party tried baked or fried fin fish. The server was friendly and the food was delivered promptly. The interior is on the rustic side. Will to go back just for lobster rolls.

Beautiful day to enjoy an outdoor lunch with my husband. Oh boy did we. Restaurant very clean & welcoming. Service friendly, efficient, professional. View was excellent, blue skies, boats on the water, got to watch planes take off & land. Now the food, amazing. We both order seafood combo plates. We each ordered our own, assuming a seafood combo plate priced in the mid $30’s wouldn’t have a lot of seafood, mostly fries wow 👀 were we wrong. 2 fairly large fresh Haddock filletscooked perfectly, at least 9 sea scallops, several Shrimp & whole belly clams. Fries, onion rings, Cole claw, tarta sauce & cocktail sauce all cooked perfectly & delicious. We ate all we possibly could & will be enjoying the left overs for dinner. This is a must try 😊

**CASH ONLY!!** (there is an ATM at the front door however!) It's been a while since I've been back and I must say that this place if anything, is super consistent! (Including it being cash only). The decor and layout is exactly the same when I came here 8 years ago! The food here is just as I remember it. Here are the items ordered as of 6/2025: - Lobster Roll - $37.99 - When I came here 8 years ago it was $28.99 which if you ask me is an absolute steal value wise when compared to food prices at other restaurants! Still a half pound of delicious succulent lobster. Just as good as I remember! - Fried combo - $32.99 - A generous heaping amount of fried seafood! One thing I wish they would do is double the amount of coleslaw and tartar sauce they gave you as it's just as small as I remember (although you can request for more tartar sauce). The seafood is battered and fried perfectly. The fries and onion rings, while crispy, are just as bland as before and needs a helping hand of ketchup and salt. - Pina Colada - $10.99 - Very refreshing but wish the size was larger for the price. - Clam Chowder (bowl) - $10.99 - Good flavor and not too creamy. A staple at any seafood establishment. Good but nothing mind blowing. We were able to grab a table outside which has a fantastic view of the boats and the water. However, if you're hoping for a calm, serene experience be warned that the airport sounds like it's right next door to you so you WILL hear the jet's taking off and landing. However if you're an aviation fan then this will be a huge bonus for you as you'll be able to see planes come and go! Highly recommended for seafood lovers out there that can make the trek out here!

The Barking Crab is a lively seafood joint located by the waterfront, offering open-air picnic-table dining with stunning views of the Boston Harbor. It stands as a remnant of the old Seaport neighborhood and provides a coastal summer clam shack atmosphere with its tented roof and picnic tables. Originally starting as a seasonal restaurant in 1994, it now includes a more permanent wing with an old-timey tavern feel while maintaining its seaside ambiance throughout.
Nice place on the water. Food is great! Oysters are so good and fresh I only got a picture of the shells! Fish and chips are good. The lobster, shrimp and scallops were delicious. It’s a bit loud inside the restaurant but the food makes up for it.

Really nice restaurant on the water in Boston. We had the fried clams and crab cakes as a starter, both were beautiful, especially the crab cakes. We had the lobster roll and the baked haddock, with potatoes instead of rice. Food was good and atmosphere was really pleasant. Unfortunately the staff were a rude and rushed us on multiple occasions, especially taking my plate whilst I was still eating, which was disappointing. Still enjoyed the meal and the vibe
Thomas M — Google review
I had my first lobster roll in Boston at Barking Crab. The place is so nice, colorful and lively. The lobster roll portion is a bit small for the price so not a great value for money. The taste is good, but not my favorite in Boston. Their fries are simple with no seasoning but so good. Service is very fast which is great given how crowded the place is.
Melissa K — Google review
The Barking Crab is a Boston classic. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and is located right on the water. The Staff are all very attentive and tables get cleaned constantly through the meal. We waited 15-20 minutes for 2 lobster rolls. Food service is perfectly timed given the size of the restaurant. We got the traditional and the warm lobster rolls. I recommend if you were a group of two ordering both and getting them cut in half so you can try each one. Both of them are very good . My only critique is that the buns and the rolls are slightly dry. As a result, we did not completely finish the buns after we were done the lobster. There is too much bun compared to the amount of lobster, or maybe it is just a very shallow bun. Which gives the illusion of there being more lobster than there actually is. Nonetheless, the price is OK for the amount of lobster you get on the roll. The side fries and pickles are great. Cole slaw is delicious. Though it is not the best lobster roll I’ve ever had, the atmosphere, the staff and the view of the city make up for it.
Kaylah C — Google review
The food was awesome we had the lobster, lobster bisc, lobster Mac and cheese and the portions were perfect. We waited for a friend and they didn't mind letting us sit and wait. The service was on point from everyone not just our waiter/waitress. Highly recommend taking the a chance if your near and want some good seafood.

In town for the weekend and we were looking for somewhere to eat delicious seafood and we stumbled upon The Barking Crab. We had a party of seven, we were seated promptly and the atmosphere was everything you’d expect from a seafood restaurant right on Boston Harbor. We ordered crab rolls, calamari, crab, a Cesar salad and lobster bisque. Every one of us enjoyed our meals, especially my son who had crab for the first time. Thank you for a wonderful evening. We definitely would return again when visiting Boston.

If you are in Boston near the Seaport area and looking for seafood, the barking crab is where you have to go. The atmosphere is fantastic as it’s an outside tent and very relaxed right on the water. The food is absolutely some of the best seafood I’ve ever had, especially these scallops. The service staff was super friendly and efficient. We were seated within 15 minutes when we arrived at 4:45 PM on a Sunday and our food arrived amazingly fast. I’m usually not one for a lot of words, but I can’t say enough about this place and how highly I recommend it.

Not impressed with food quality and quantity. Atmosphere was good. Clamp chowder was bland. Raw oyster were decent. Crab roll was ok. Now since I am chasing for Lobster rolls, it was my least favorite spot out of the 4 I been to on this trip to Boston. There was Barely any meat... mostly bread. To me it should be half the price since it was half the meat. Out of the 4 here is my rating. #1 was Saltie Girl (tons of lobster meat on the roll) #2 was James hook. #3 James hook

Alive & Kicking Lobsters is a no-frills seafood counter in Cambridge, MA that offers delicious lobster sandwiches on toasted white bread. The spartan spot has outdoor seating where you can enjoy the sweet and fresh lobster meat with a smear of mayo. It's a decades-long classic and a must-try for local lobster lovers. The takeout shop may seem out of place in its residential neighborhood, but that's part of its quirky appeal.
We went to this little restaurant with our friends. The food is delicious. The lobster sandwiches is good although I still have think I like rolls more than sandwich bread. The steamers and mussels are REALLY good. Will I go there again ? Absolutely ! Next time we want to try the steam lobster and I will get more mussels again :)

Bisque and clam chowder are exceptional Can’t miss this for fresh seafood at very reasonable prices Very very healthy , it’s all steamed and the soups are made with real butter and cream None of that fake flour thickening Food is absolutely fantastic and service is fast The birds also like the breads

A serendipitous find by searching "lobster near me"! A&K is the BEST! A "hole-in-the-wall" kind of place, right in a driveway, picnic tables, lots of napkins, yet only about 4,000' from Harvard Square. Around the corner from Whole Foods (tip: buy beer there and bring it to A&K; this is not "sneaking it", the folks at A&K gave me this tip)! The food was fresh, hot, and delicious, but the service! Can I give 10 stars!? We initially ordered to-go, then changed our minds. This is an inconvenience for the staff here due to the packaging, etc., but they shined through. They went waaaaay above and beyond to assist and accommodate, finding and providing for us bottle openers, shell-crackers, extra whatever we needed. Please. Do yourself a favor and go to this local-place, give them your business. I wish I could remember the staff members names (it was about July 20, 2025). But thank you for more-than-making our day. ♥♥♥

Took the whole crew (hubby + 4 kids) here while vacationing in Boston because, let’s be real—you can’t come to Boston and not eat lobster. This place is no-frills in the best way. Picture picnic tables, casual vibes, and outdoor seating that feels like you’re dining in somebody’s driveway. We loved it. We ordered the lobster special, lobster sandwich, and lobster bisque. Heads up: the lobster special was delicious but not teenager-proof. My two boys ate it and looked at me like I owed them a second dinner. Rookie move. The lobster sandwich was solid—my heart was set on a roll, but this was a satisfying backup. Now let’s talk about that lobster bisque. Listen… this was the best lobster bisque I’ve had in my life. No exaggeration. And I live with a husband who’s a professional-level food snob. He swears everything we pay for he could make better (and cheaper) at home. In 17 years, he’s only admitted three times that a restaurant meal was worth it. This was one of them. Order extra bread and thank me later. What really stood out, though, was the service. The young man who took our order was incredibly kind and knowledgeable—he knew the food and the business inside and out. One of my kids has a mollusk allergy, and he was so intentional about making sure there was no cross-contamination. That’s no small thing at a seafood place. He double-checked utensils and took it seriously, which made me feel seen and safe as a parent. That level of care meant a lot. Bonus points: they have live lobsters on site, and if your kids are curious (like my 11-year-old was), they’ll show them to you. My youngest called it a “learning experience” because she got to see the lobsters, oysters, and what she described as “sea things hanging on the wall.” Her words, not mine. Family consensus: “The food was amazing,” “They have really good lobster bisque,” and “This place is cool.”

It’s a total hole-in-the-wall, family sized picnic table seating, order at the counter from a dud with an authentic Bahstn accent place. Generous lobster portions, calamari salad was righteous.

Luke's Lobster is a seafood restaurant that serves lobster rolls. They use gluten-free bread to avoid cross-contamination and have served many celiacs without issue.
Cute little pop in spot! We tried the lobster trio and the clam chowder. They were delicious and perfect bite size to share and try all the flavors. You get a good amount of lobster meat

Cheeky Lobster roll, very juicy, fresh, and buttery flavour. Got the smallest option for the lobster: 110 grams of lobster in roll with garlic butter, a pack or chips, and a drink all for $28. Think this is a great price to value if you want to try lobster roll as a snack during your walk through the freedom trail.

This was my 1st time in Boston and according to several locals they highly suggested I try a lobster roll and this place is what they recommended. I got the small portion since this was my 1st time trying it and honestly was glad I did but it wasn’t the most flavorful. The service however was lovely and the ladies at the front were so helpful. The location was tiny but was luckily able to grab a seat in a corner immediately after someone got up so I’d honestly prepared to grab your food and eat elsewhere .

We dropped by Luke’s Lobster – Downtown Crossing and really enjoyed the experience. The place is quite small with limited seating, but that’s part of its charm — think “lobster shack in the city.” The crab roll we ordered was vey good — fresh, tasty, and priced pretty reasonably for downtown Boston. The food came out fast (under 10 minutes), which was impressive considering how busy it gets. The service was friendly, fast, and professional, making the visit relaxed and pleasant. Luke’s is located on Washington Street in the heart of downtown, so it’s perfect for grabbing a bite while you’re walking around the city or shopping. The interior is cozy and a bit tight, so many diners opt to take their orders and eat while walking or standing. If you’re in downtown Boston and craving a solid seafood roll without the fuss, Luke’s is a solid pick.

Hot Lobster Roll was perfect, friendly and just what you hoped for. Fresh bread, excellent soup ChatGPT said: Here’s a polished review you could post: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Luke’s Lobster did not disappoint! The Hot Lobster Roll was absolutely perfect—packed with fresh, sweet lobster meat and served just the way you’d hope for. The roll itself was warm, buttery, and fresh, making each bite feel indulgent but balanced. The bread was outstanding, soft with just the right amount of crispness on the edges. Pairing it with their soup was the best choice—rich, flavorful, and exactly what you want on the side. On top of the great food, the service was warm and friendly, adding to the whole experience. Everything felt fresh, thoughtful, and true to what you’d hope for in a classic lobster roll spot.

Conveniently located near the Old South Meeting House, Luke's Lobster is a great place for a pit stop if you are walking the freedom trail. The lobster roll was amazing as was the clam chowder. The service was quick and friendly and they even bought my food to my table.

Seafood restaurant
Union Oyster House is a historic restaurant that has been serving classic New England seafood dishes since 1826. Located in Boston, it is the oldest continuously operating restaurant in the United States. Visitors can enjoy chowder, oysters, and other seafood at this iconic establishment while taking in its rich history. The restaurant features a semicircular oyster bar where guests can sit and savor their meals, as well as an upstairs dining room with a plaque marking JFK's favorite booth.
Celebrated my birthday here- thought it would be fitting to get older at the oldest restaurant in the country! There were two servers for our tables, which was a bit jarring at first, but worked out great. Sometimes older restaurants can be a bit uncomfortable, but Union Oyster House was wonderful! We all found the booth and overall space relaxing and welcoming. We split the mussels to start, which were wonderful. I had a half dozen oysters, that were all huge and tasty, and the wonderful clam chowder. One of us had the crab cakes with mashed potatoes, the crab cake had almost no fillers and tasted fresh. The other had the sea scallops and fries, they were very happy with the dish. The meal started with fantastic warm corn bread and ended with a slice of birthday Boston cream pie! With a bottle of wine and one beer, the bill came to just under $200- which is not bad at all for being in Boston’s North End and in a historic venue. We sat by the Kennedy Booth, which is definitely a spot to check out when visiting! Would definitely visit again and recommend to anyone!

It's a cool idea to visit oldest continuously operating restaurant in America but unfortunately the food was meh. I tried clam chowder, crab cakes and Broiled Scrod, all were decent but all lacked flavor. Ambiance is interesting somewhat eclectic. Service was good.

This has been bookmarked as one of the restaurants I wanted to try for the longest time. It was not on our plan to eat here but we stumbled upon it while walking, location is indeed strategic! Our server and the whole team have been very helpful and nice. The food, all delicious! The bathroom is a little tight and the building itself is vintage and so with their cornbread recipe which makes it iconic. They gave me a copy of their cornbread recipe and I bought a bag of cornbread mix. I was flying that day and I forgot it is in my carry on. TSA just did their job, opened and checked it, it must be that good. I went ahead and baked it soon as I got home, same quality as the restaurant’s - makes me want to go back or I wish I bought more.

Ok, Union Oyster House is a bit touristy; I will give you that. But there is a reason this is America’s oldest continuous running restaurant. They put out solid food, and the prices are not outrageous. We started with the oysters, which were probably the highlight of the evening. They were extremely tasty. The clam chowder was solid, but not the best I’ve had. The lobster mac and cheese came out nuclear hot and the lobster was plentiful, but over cooked and rubbery. Our other dishes were good. Service was quick, but some of the staff were seen to be arguing and publicly training new people in front of guests. This is unacceptable. The atmosphere was fun, and the booths promised plenty of history and relatively private places to converse during the meal. Is this the best seafood in Boston? No. But the history gives them a rating of 4 (it would have been three otherwise).

I mean, it’s the Union Oyster House! It’s been serving us fresh seafood forever! Every time I come, they produce consistently great food, and the only downside is that sometimes there’s a wait. We always try to sit at the oyster bar and just have them deliver fresh oysters and cherrystones to us. I love watching them shuck them, and we wait on them while we have a pint. It truly is the best seat in the house! And so fresh! We have had oysters and clams a lot of places, and these cherry stones are so so fresh. Big, juicy, and not dirty. Sometimes even at a very high-end oyster and clam place there is a lot of dirt in the shell; not so here. The shuckers do a great job delivering a clean fresh bivalve! Our server/Shucker/bartender was also super friendly! We ordered 18 cherrystones this time, and these were so big and juicy that they were really quite filling. If I had another 18, that would’ve been plenty for dinner. And I can eat a lot of seafood!

Union Oyster House is a restaurant at Downtown Boston. Open to diners since 1826, it is among the oldest operating restaurants in the United States and the oldest known to have been continuously operating. Dining here is mostly about visiting its history and the culture of Boston. The food was good, we especially love the Clam Chowder and the Lobster Roll. The atmosphere is rich with history and our server was ver friendly and attentive. However, the prices here can be on the high side but it is to be expected from a place such as this, which is a bit touristy. Overall, will still recommend to come here to take a look if you are into history and quality dining.

Fantastic place with a lot of history and absolutely worth a visit when you are in Boston. The food was fresh and yummy and the service was great too. Highly recommend reservations especially on a weekend. If there’s one thing to improve, it’s the portion size. What usually works for 3 people will suffice only for 2 here. If you get a chance, do walk around the insides to catch all the beautiful artifacts and photos.

This is one of the oldest restaurants in Boston and we had to check it out! We ordered a dozen oysters, a bowl of clean chowder and the kids chicken tenders with a Guinness and a pint of Harpoon IPA. The stuck to the small others and they were good. The didn't taste like the ocean. 😜 The chowder was creamy and super good filled with potatoes and clams. It was delishhhhh!!! The chicken tenders were freaking awesome. They taste like healthy schicken nuggies. They weren't over breaded and had soo much flavor. Oh, we also get free cornbread to start with! 🤤 Shout out to Katieand her area co-host for being very attentive and checking in and clearing the table for us!

Woods Hill Pier 4 is a laid-back restaurant offering picturesque harbor views and a menu featuring oysters, seafood dishes, and steak alongside an array of cocktails. The eatery has a rich history, with its roots tracing back to a Greek immigrant who opened the diner in 1974. Known for their beef meatballs and tomato sauce infused with sugar and cinnamon, the restaurant has temporarily streamlined its menu due to the pandemic but promises the return of this beloved dish soon.
I went to the restaurant with my friend on the summer around 6-7 pm. I don’t expect the area around place. But it’s very nice than I thought, here is a good place to having dinner and see the sunset. Also food is so delicious too. But a small plate. If you come for two ppl. I should order 5-6 dish. The pasta is amazing. The service is little slow.

We enjoyed the dinner on the pier, watching the port. The service was excellent, and the server had a good sense of humor. The drinks were well done, tasty, and nicely decorated. The food was good, but not extraordinary; at least the pappardellle as I expected more flavor from the braised rabbit. All other dishes were tasty and had a good presentation. Would try it again.

The food was beautiful and delicious. For appetizers, we tried the whipped feta dip and local bluefin tuna. The tuna was excellent—they used watermelon instead of avocado, and it totally worked. We didn’t like the feta dip as much. It had yellow beet and watermelon, which were tasty, but overall it wasn’t a standout. For the main course, I ordered the grass-fed beef. It was very good, though the flavor was slightly off in a way I can’t quite explain—I still enjoyed it nonetheless. The drinks were also excellent, and we loved them.

We had the best experience here for our date night. We sat at the bar and had delicious drinks and entrees. We ordered BUCATINI ALL'AMATRICIANA and the DRY AGED DUCK BREAST. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The portion sizes are smaller than I am used to therefore you may want to order more. I can not wait to go back!

My first visit to Woods Hill on Pier 4 in Boston - and everything was absolutely exquisite. There were three of us - and we shared the Caviar Experience, which was a first for all of us. And it got better from there. The service, the variety of food, the service throughout the meal (I couldn't empty my water no matter how hard I tried). When you come - you will enjoy the amazing flavors, the wonderful variety from a farm to table restaurant. Could very well be in my top 10 of meals I've ever eaten!

Little Whale Oyster Bar is a charming New England seafood restaurant located in a brownstone on Newbury St., Back Bay, Boston. Chef Michael Serpa's creation offers a breezy, nautical atmosphere with two floors of dining. The menu features an array of delectable seafood options, including the famous lobster roll served on brioche from local bread expert Iggys and accompanied by crispy fries.
Just an absolutely amazing meal. Little Whale isn't particularly large or fancy but we had the best oysters we've ever eaten one Sunday afternoon. James was our server and he was wonderful. Helpful, but not hovering, knowledgeable without hectoring, and quick and efficient. The oysters and the fish and chips were some of the best I've ever had, as was the calamari. I can't wait to go back!

We waited about an hour for our clam-chowder and fish and chips. The waitress took care of our second drinks so that made up for it. The fish n chips is amazingly delicious and large. I recommend it. The Clam-chowder was lacking seafood. It was just creamy potato soup. I do recommend this place despite the hiccups, it was delicious and the staff were friendly. But if your food takes longer than usual, ask for a complimentary pour.

Oysters are fat and taste buttery/fresh. 38 dollars for saltwater pasta and measly clams is crazy. Barely any pasta and it was like someone dropped the salt shaker on the plate. No flavor besides salt. Do not get this.

Lobstah On A Roll is a cozy local eatery that has gained popularity for its flavorful and spicy dishes. While their lobster rolls are the star of the show, they also offer other delectable options. Customers rave about the generous portions and friendly staff, making it a great spot to savor Boston classics like lobster rolls and clam chowder. Located in Back Bay, this restaurant provides a convenient dining experience with outdoor seating available.
Lobstah on a Roll is a must-visit for seafood lovers! Their lobster roll was absolutely incredible—packed with fresh, sweet lobster meat, just the right amount of seasoning and a buttery soft bun. Easily one of the best I’ve had in Boston! The clam chowder had great flavor, but it could have been a bit warmer. That said, the overall experience was fantastic. The service was friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home in the cutest quaint space. If you’re craving a top-tier lobster roll with excellent service, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back!

We waited quite a bit of time for the waiter to come (~6 minutes). We said and repeated three time our order: lobster roll, watermelon shaved ice large size and a cup size mango shaved ice. She made us repeat our order multiple times, and she still got it wrong. We waited 20 minutes for our order to come. We were quite disappointed, it was so much different from the advertisement outside. This is daylight robbery (check attached images). It’s lacking so much. We waited so much time for our lobster so we asked how much more time will it take. She said we never ordered lobster roll…. Okay we asked for the bill, she demanded us to pay at least 15% on tips… We didn’t want to, the service was bad. At the end we payed 0.53 cents as the tip since she didn’t have the change. Okay so overall wouldn’t recommend.

When you walk in, it doesn’t smell the best. When I walked in, it was a mixture of sewage and generally uncleanliness. Despite that, they had the door open to let in fresh air, and the smell became less apparent. The food was really good and seemed fresh. Decently priced for what they give. The woman serving was extremely friendly and matronly. The onion rings were the best I’ve had in awhile. While I don’t recommend dining in, I think to-go or sitting outside would be best.

We ordered takeout so this review is based solely on the food we received and not service. We ate it 10min away so the food was still warm and fresh. We ordered a new Englander, clam chowdah, and the fish box. The lobster roll was okay overall. The roll was nice and soft and had a slight sweetness that went well with the lobster. The lobster itself felt very firm and chewy. We got the $2 extra butter but felt like it didn't add too much so it wasn't necessary. The clam chowdah was thin and didn't feel substantial in terms of fillings. Overall a bit bland as well. The fish in the fish box was juicy, flaky and had a crunchy exterior, which was nice but also felt under salted. I'm not sure if we were supposed to grab our own tartar sauce or if it was forgotten, but it probably would have been much better if I had a tarter sauce with it.

HORRIBLE! DON’T COME HERE!! They spilled burning out soup all over my friend’s pants and hand, and he had to walk around with an ice pack. We fully had to ask them for an ice pack. Also, the food was not good. My least favorite lobster roll (fully found a small piece of bone in mine). It wasn’t flavorful and the texture was too chewy. The clam chowder was too thick, and I wanted more flavor.
Nicole T — Google review
The place smells old the minute you walk in. The clam chowder was so thick you could almost cut it! The lobster bisque was just kind of flat. The Cole slaw had no flavor. Had to add some salt and pepper. The lobster roll was disappointing. The most disappointing was the presentation. Food came out on styrofoam and plastic. I hope this was just an off day!

Good little hole in the wall place. Conveniently located between all the shops. The prices were higher than what was listed on the menu which is kinda annoying but understandable. Legal Sea Foods - Harborside is a contemporary seafood restaurant located in the Seaport District's Liberty Wharf in Boston. The flagship location of Legal Seafood, it offers three floors of dining experiences. The first floor provides fresh and well-prepared seafood in a casual and family-friendly setting with an outdoor patio.
We had the best experience at this Legal Seafood location than any other we’ve visited before! The entire wait staff was kind, accommodating and incredibly fast. Our server was lovely and gave great recommendations. She was calm and patient with our questions and requests even though she had many tables and patrons. The food was outstanding and the portions were fantastic. We started with the shrimp cocktail and it was so tasty for our first bite. Served with fresh lemon and a superb cocktail sauce, the colossal shrimp were cooked perfectly and were quite tender. Definitely a favorite for everyone! I didn’t get to take a photo, we got to them pretty fast! Our kiddo had freshly sliced watermelon and a grilled cheeseburger and steak cut French fries. I had the Thai Peanut Salad with grilled chicken and it was such a delight. A generous portion, perfectly seasoned and grilled chicken and the flavor was everything I wanted it to be and more! My husband had the baked stuffed lobster and it was better than he had hoped it would be. Plenty of food in the smaller portion which is about a 1.5 lb lobster, filled with bay scallops, shrimp crumbs and buttery goodness!! We will absolutely be coming back the next time we are in Boston. Thank you to the staff of Legal Seafood for the lovely experience this afternoon.

I loved the location and the service was great given how busy it was. They seem very responsive to food allergies which was helpful. The food was good but what kept this from a 5 star experience was that the food was rather flavorless. Even the salt/vinegar cod needed salt and has zero vinegar flavor. It all looked great on the plate but I didn’t feel like I really got what I paid for. Maybe it was an off night but I felt at $200 (plus tip) for 4 people, that I overpaid a bit. I hadn’t been to a legal sea food in maybe 12 years as my travel to the Boston area didn’t happen after moving to a different role at work. I made a point of getting reservations months in advance and looked forward to the night. It wasn’t like I remembered so perhaps that tarnishes the experience some.

We visited this place because it was recommended by multiple people. We did not have to wait much to get a table and our server was the savior of the review ?and the bread). He was amazing!!!! We ordered fried calamari, it was good. We also had the clam chowder and it was very good too but I was honestly expecting something with more punch. Reasons why the low rating: - The sodas we ordered were flat - Restrooms were not clean at all and very unorganized. There was no soap; all there was, was an empty liquid soap bottle with the top out. No drying towels.

The yellowtail and the sole fish were wonderful. The oyster delicious- the freshness was just perfection. The clam chowder is not bad, but not the best there is. Definitely worth a visit for sure. Staff was helpful and gave good suggestions. Atmosphere was nice, not so loud you can't hear the party you're with, but not super quiet. I love how is within walking distance to a variety of places.

This is hands down Boston’s best seafood spot. The lobster sandwich I had here? Best I’ve ever tasted! Loved it so much we came twice-if we’d stayed any longer, honestly, I’d have dragged you back every single day. Staff were proper friendly, kitchen smashed it, every dish was spot-on. Big thanks to the whole team-see you next time we’re in town!

Went here with a group of 6 for lunch and we got seated almost immediately. Our server was super nice and our food times was very responsive. The seafood tasted really fresh and tasty. I got the Market Fish which was a Bass that day and the sides were the Szechuan Greenbeans and Bok Choy & Kimchi which were both good but the kimchi wasn't as flavorful as I was hoping. We also got Oysters on the shell that were really good sharing! I had a Cucumber drink that was refreshing and I would definitely order again. The place seemed fairly priced and the atmosphere was quite to where you could comfortably have a conversation at the table. Would recommend to people to go for some good seafood.

Bostonia Public House is a trendy two-floor establishment housed in the historic Board of Trade building, offering New England cuisine and a vibrant bar atmosphere. The venue's design blends modern touches with traditional elements, celebrating Boston's rich heritage. It is known for its great drinks and classic Boston fare like the famous Boston baked beans, traditionally served with brown bread. While some may affectionately refer to Boston as Beantown due to its history with molasses, locals rarely use this term.
We ate here twice in the span of 2 nights and like our experience each time. The shrimp cocktail is a must when you come here. The whipped feta app was good, but I don’t think it’s a staple. Instead, opt for the lobster tacos. They’re small, but incredible. The southwest salad was very nice. The scallops were very good, but could have been better seared. Let’s talk about the burger- Fantastic ! Get it. By far the best thing I had here and it was truly one of the best burgers I’ve had anywhere in the past few years. The cocktails were solid. Overall I love this place because it’s a nice atmosphere in a central location to the financial district and serves food late.

My friend and I came on a Saturday for brunch before heading to an all day music festival. It just so happened to be her birthday so we decided to splurge and treat ourselves. I decided to order the short rib poutine and a side bourbon-glazed cinnamon roll. The short rib poutine was out of this world and the dish was so massive it was more than enough food for two meals. The Bourbon-glazed cinnamon roll was tasty, although a little dry. The service was friendly and attentive, and my friend‘s mom even called the restaurant and paid for our meal to surprise her for her birthday. Definitely a good brunch spot if you find yourself in the area.

Lobster Benedict was amazing! Highly recommend and the potatoes were so soft and flavorful, by far my favorite breakfast potato I’ve had. Cinnamon roll was ok a little dry but likes the flavor. The build you’re own Bloody Mary was our favorite part to our Sunday Brunch.

Amazing place for dinner! We made a reservation last min but were still sat immediately. Huge place with a lot of seating, nice atmosphere- was a little loud but it was a Friday night so thats to be expected. Food- we ordered the steak frites, clam chowder, and lobster mac and cheese. Everything was great, steak cooked perfectly, mac and cheese was to die for.

We went to Bostonia to celebrate a birthday. The waitress was very attentive and gave us good recommendations. We tried two of their mock tails and started with some oysters. We wanted to try the whole menu but ended up having the stuff, crab cod. The atmosphere was very nice. They sent out a lovely birthday dessert and celebration. Their s’mores dessert was so yummy!

Okay, so our eating experience here wasn't great. We had a waitress that didn't smile. There was some confusion with my drink. To be fair, I was offered a replacement, but it was the most bitter Mojito I have ever tasted, so I couldn't drink it. Our food took over 30 mins to be served. On top of that, each dish was either salty, tasteless, or too small a portion to be worth the price, respectively. When asked by the waitress how our meal was going, we couldn't help but voice our dissatisfaction. I was very impressed when the manager later came out to apologise. He explained that they were having a busy day, which explains the poor service we received. He said the meals were on the house and offered us desserts on the house as well. We didn't go for the desserts but appreciated the gesture of goodwill. That was very good customer service. Kudos to the waitress for passing on our displeasure. The restaurant does have a lovely ambiance and the food was well presented.

All I can say about this place is get the Ultimate Bloody Mary. It is a buffet style where you can craft your own Bloody Mary masterpiece. The fact that you can have a rib in your drink was so fun for me. “Rib on my bev pls” - Julie D.

Select Oyster Bar, located in the Back Bay area of Boston, is a cozy spot known for its fresh bivalves and Mediterranean-inspired dishes. Chef Michael Serpa, who gained recognition at Neptune Oyster, has brought his expertise to this hotspot. The restaurant offers impressive plateauxs featuring local oysters, Maine lobster, scallop ceviche, and other delectable bites.
Select Oyster Bar: A Back Bay Gem Select Oyster Bar is an upscale seafood experience. The heavy Mediterranean-style influences shine through in their dishes and they focus on serving high-quality seafood with an excellent range of wines and spirits to complement the dishes. Their team is down-to-Earth, attentive, and experts on the menu. The meal started with a dozen small-medium sized Wellfleet, MA oysters that had a great taste of the sea on the finish. The yellowtail hamachi crudo while fresh, was a bit salty for my taste, and was accompanied by crispy ginger, cucumber, and radish for a great variety of textures. 🔥🔥🔥 The standout of the evening was dressed Maine Lobster with fines-herbes, lemon, warm butter. A great dish from start to finish, it had two slices of delicious bread to help soak up the last bits of buttery sauce 🔥🔥🔥 We enjoyed glasses of their Sancerre, Pinot noir, Bordeaux, and Brut rose, which were all quite tasty and went well with the dishes. Special thanks to our main bartender, John. His in-depth knowledge, attentiveness, and dry wit made for an entertaining dinner at the bar. Overall, a memorable 5-star experience for a special occasion and/or date night splurge.

It’s a more a bar styled restaurant which has limited indoor spaces. However, the waiters were very friendly and helpful. To time to time, they asked if we needed refills, and they cleaned the table right after each round of dishes. Very clean and tidy. As for the food, the oysters were great and fresh; the warm lobster roll (which by the way, is off the menu) was delicious and full of meat. It was market priced at $60 for a lobster roll and $60 for a lobster salad on that day. The bill automatically counts the 20% service tips. Overall, delicious food, great selection of wines, but slightly over-priced. Will come back for other dishes on the menu next time.

Absolutely outstanding experience. The service was warm and attentive, the food exceptionally fresh and flavorful, and the wine selection perfectly curated. A must-visit in Boston for seafood lovers.

Super kind staff (shoutout to Corey who spent time explaining the menu super thoroughly to me and chatting with me during a lovely solo lunch!). Superb fresh oysters and seafood, will become a new favorite of mine going forward. Highlights for me were The anchovy pan con tomate, which was just *chef’s kiss*, as well as the octopus.

We had a quick lunch at this place and you must order their lobster roll! It's $60 lobster sauté in butter and nicely put in this amazing soft and warm brioche roll which was made fresh every morning from the local bakery up in Cambridge along with fried homemade potato chips. We also had the hamachi crudo, which was good but the lemony passion fruit sauce was kinda throw me off. We also had kakamora daiquiri which was pretty good cocktail with the coconut rum and pineapple juice & the glengiddich on the rock. This restaurant also included their service tip on their receipt (20%) and they told you that when they handed you the receipt. Overall, this is a nice place for drinks and quick bite for us before the ball game.

Stopped in after reading all the great reviews and maybe expected too much. The setting might be meant to feel rustic but the metal chairs were uneven and the table felt cramped even for two and there were four of us. The food itself was fine but with everything else it just did not add up to a place I would return to. I can see why some people enjoy it but it was not for us.
Robert S — Google review
I so wanted to love this restaurant given its reputation, but I left disappointed. The ceviche was tasty enough but too cold suggesting it had just been pulled from the refrigerator (which it probably had been given that it appeared 3 minutes after our telling our server that we had been waiting over 30 minutes). However, the real disappointment was the Bouillabaisse. It looked nice enough - a good serving of shrimps, crab, mussels, salmon, and clams - but it was so bland. It desperately needed more salt and the saffron was non-existent. It's a shame because the restaurant is visually appealing and the staff were charming (not to mention loyal - several have worked there since its inception). The oysters looked great, albeit at $4.25 a pop very expensive, and the other mains people were having looked good. We might just have ordered poorly.

Select Oyster Bar is one of Boston’s best spots for seafood. The freshly shucked oysters were perfect - cold, briny, and clean. The avocado toast was surprisingly refined, with fresh seafood and citrus cutting through the richness. Both the hamachi and tuna crudo were bright and beautifully balanced. The Arctic char was cooked just right—crispy skin, buttery inside and the Spanish octopus was tender with great char flavor. Service was sharp, the wine list thoughtful, and while the space gets a bit loud, it adds to the buzz. Overall, a fantastic dinner—great food, great energy, and well worth it!

Vietnamese restaurant
Lê Madeline is a modern Vietnamese restaurant with a delightful ambiance and a carefully curated menu. The bartender, Kim, is friendly and offers great drink recommendations. The Viet Cajun Crawfish Noodles are a favorite, surprising diners with their well-balanced flavors. The Bo luc lac (filet Mignon) offers a modern twist on the traditional Vietnamese dish, while the Goi Vit (duck salad) presents classic flavors with new ingredients.
Dinner was delicious! I’d describe it as creative comfort food. We really liked the Viet Cajun crawfish noodles, shaken beef, lobster roll, smoked wings, and two desserts - banana cheesecake and espresso crème brûlée. I personally loved the French onion dip too though the household was more mixed on this. Our server was amazing and gave great suggestions. We had a wonderful time and will be back!

Taking Vietnamese food to the next level at a good value. You will find all your favorites updated with some new twists. Try the flavorful beef carparccio and their creative cocktails. While it was not busy during lunch time, service was excellent.
M P — Google review
This is a spacious and elegant restaurant. I saw the Viet Cajun crawfish butter noodles discussed a lot in the reviews, so we had to try it. I can confirm that it was really good! It's a bit sweet for my tastes, but I can still appreciate the generous amounts of salmon roe and what appeared to be caramelized fish bits? The crawfish was a little squidgy but the noodles had great texture. This was a great dish. My husband called it "elite" multiple times, and it was his favorite dish of our mini Quincy food tour. We also got the bun rieu, which I didn't think was that good. It felt a bit under seasoned (especially the fried tofu, which didn't absorb any flavor). Maybe I would try the pho next time. The lychee mocktail was nothing special, though it looked nice. The Viet Cajun noodles were a standout, but nothing else was particularly memorable. We may come back just for those noodles...

The restaurants across billings road have leveled up recently and this place is one of the nicest finds. The food is great and served on time. Loved their options and choice of pho, noodles and rice. I will definitely come back!
Selva M — Google review
Overall a highly enjoyable meal and wonderful experience made possible by an incredibly friendly and warm staff. FOOD: Don't sleep at all on the French onion dip. It was tangy, had the richness that you'd expect but raises to the next level with the caramelized onions and what seem like charred green onions and the Smoky umami flavor to it. The only nitpicks we had was that it was quite salty so it made it hard to go back in multiple dips in a row even though our eyes and hearts wanted to. That and the shrimp chips that came with were quite oily. Frankly, we could have just used a plain warm banh mi baguette as the ideal vehicle to get it into our faces. The lobster roll was a unique take on a lobster roll with fresh forward flavors. The addition of the herbs and greens helped it feel less heavy than the traditional rolls. Hard to say if it's better or worse - just different. The brioche bun was the ideal softness. The garlic noodles with crawfish craw’d into our brains throughout the email, as we kept on going back to the noodles given it’s ideal texture of QQ and bounce. When you get a bite with the roe and chives combining with the noodles fresh = bliss. Pro tip, slather some of that french onion dip on the noodles and use that as the vehicle. You’re taste buds will thank you. The Bo Luc Lac (shaking beef) had the most tender beef we’ve ever come across for this dish (here or in Vietnam). Flavor was on point as they didn’t marinade or sauce it too sweet (a common issue we run across in the states for Western flavor profiles). Combine that with quality cut of beef used (that isn’t too tough or chewy) and we’ve got a winner. The red cornish hen like rice was just fine so I’d actually see if you could just get plain white rice to let the beef flavor shine (or you know, just eat more noodles!) The banana cheesecake was a clever take on a traditional Che Chuoi dessert. Good dense texture to the cheesecake you definitely get the banana flavor. Make sure you like banana though cause it’s not explicitly stated on the menu. SERVICE: But what made the meal feel full of love and care was our server. The server was incredibly friendly, patient, and was just so thoughtful. He answered all our annoying food questions with patience, went above and beyond to ensure my surprise birthday meal for my partner was indeed so, and made the dining experience feel special. Truly left no stone unturned. We can’t wait till our next chance to come back.

The restaurant is very modern inside and the staff are very welcoming. There’s limited street parking in this busy neighborhood. The shrimp spring rolls are refreshing with a delicious peanut sauce. The presentation is nice too. The vermicelli crab soup was extremely flavorful and I would recommend it if you wanted to try something other than pho or BBH.
Thomas T — Google review
I’ve been here twice now and while the food was passable, the overall dining experience left much to be desired. Here's a breakdown: The food was just okay—nothing exceptional. I ordered the pho, which was a disappointment. The noodles were broken and overcooked, resulting in a mushy texture that ruined the dish. The broth was decent, but it couldn’t salvage the poorly prepared noodles. Other dishes were fine, but nothing stood out as memorable or worth returning for. Hot coffee was $5 and you get 1 ounce of coffee!! The service was lackluster at best. Server never came to check in on us and got our order wrong. It took a while to get their attention for simple requests. The prices were on the higher side, especially considering the quality of the food and service. To make matters worse, I was charged extra for something as simple as additional limes, which felt like an unnecessary.
Maggie — Google review
Spectacular! If you come for dinner, you can choose between traditional Vietnamese food and their "elevated" modern dishes. (This was all explained very well by the staff). Personally I went with something more traditional; the Bún Bò Huê / Spicy Beef Noodle Soup. It was very fresh and had excellent flavor. My friend ordered one of the modern dishes, the Viêt Cajun Crawfish Noodles, which he said were also really good. We also had the Egg Rolls, which were once again delicious. Everyone here was very friendly, which obviously makes you feel good supporting them. I will also note the food comes out pretty fast! 10/10 experience

Seafood restaurant
Island Creek Oyster Bar is a popular seafood restaurant located in the Commonwealth Hotel. The restaurant boasts a sleek and airy atmosphere, offering an extensive selection of farm-fresh raw bar options, imaginative cocktails, and an impressive wine and beer list. Guests can enjoy a variety of oysters sourced from the restaurant's own farm in Duxbury, Massachusetts, along with other seafood dishes and non-seafood options. The menu features seasonal twists on classic cocktails and oyster-friendly sparkling drinks.
This is my favorite restaurant in the city! It is always super busy so you need to make a reservation at least a couple days in advance to guarantee a table. The oysters are a must, and so are the biscuits. Everything on the menu is delicious and fresh, you can't go wrong with anything! The fish dishes are all very unique, and they also have all the classics - great lobster rolls, clam chowder, and lobster bisque. The wine selection and cocktails are good too.
Lindsey S — Google review
Restaurant setting is nice, the clam chowder was so so - potatoes not well cooked & not much clams. Lobster pasta was not bad, the rib inside is a bit not matching the whole taste actually, I think it’ll be better without it. I have 4 Star for personal reason - they have TOKAJI listed on their dessert wine list and this is my favorite wine ever ! In general not bad, worth a try.
Lee F — Google review
Great find on a rainy night! The bartender was super friendly and able to make some great tequila cocktails. The lobster roll needed a little more flavor in my opinion, but managed to hit the spot at the time. Ceviche was good as well but definitely just a small bite. Would definitely return if I’m ever in the area again for the drinks alone.

One of the greatest places we’ve been to for oysters. Love the modern vibe and the cleanliness of the restaurant. A bit pricey honestly but we accept it since we had two rounds of oysters. Loved the lobster roll too. Strong recommendation for this place.

One of my favorite restaurants ever. Always delicious and good price to value ratio. The menu is newly printed each day and the oysters are amazing. I started liking oysters because of this place and have not looked back! The drink options are also very much on point. I come here every time I'm in Boston!

Pretty nice oysters in Boston. They got a lot of different oysters. The waiters recommended couple for us to try. The courses were just fine. They have got good locations and environment, hard to book sometime.
Sharon X — Google review
Delicious, crusty bread, good wine selections, interesting, nice decor, attentive staff. Probably romantic in the evening. I did not like their Maine style, award winning, lobster rolls. It was a cubed lobster drenched in mayonnaise and scooped in brioche toast. $34 Hated it.
Mama B — Google review
Overall I think this place is a bit overrated. The service was mediocre and we had to wait over an hour for our food. The scallop crudo appetizer was delicious, the lobster roll was pretty good too, but the cauliflower was plain and the overpriced crispy bass was very bland. The oysters are great but you can find them at much better restaurants around Boston.

Cusser's Roast Beef & Seafood is a popular spot known for its delicious roast beef sandwiches. The shop offers a variety of options, including the traditional North Shore style with BBQ sauce, mayo, and Jack cheese, as well as their own 80T take with pickled onions, spicy aioli, and cheddar.
This was my first time having a lobster roll and it was a great first experience! They gave a good amount of lobster and the staff was very friendly. I thought they gave a few too many fries, because by the time I'd finished my sandwich I still had half of them left, but they were still very good. Would definitely recommend for a quick and tasty meal!

Awful. The food was so greasy. First and last time eating at this establishment. The fish wasn’t bad just too greasy. The fries were soggy from being soaked in grease.
Chaunté M — Google review
Best roast beef sandwiches! I love a north shore style roast beef, the beef was perfect, thinly sliced and piled high. I've had lots of beef sandwiches with barbecue sauce, so I decided to try something different and got the 80 T Style with the Thoreau sauce, it's a roast beef sandwich with onions, cheddar cheese and a light mustard aoli that is very mild mustard flavor does not overwhelm the flavor of the beef. It's like a grown up adult version of the regular 3 way roast beef sandwich. I still prefer a regular 3 way, but's it's so worth it to try something different and still love it. Sandwiches look beautiful! Definitely coming back for more. Thanks!

Got one of their roast beef sandwiches and oh boy was it good. The bun was very good quality which made the whole sandwich complete. Went at closing time and they still served me. Staff was nice. Also got fries for my niece and they were delicious. Very crispy with the perfect browning and salt. Dipped in ketchup as well. Delicious food! Would recommend if you stop by T.B Gardens

Go for: Roast beef sandwiches and lobster rolls at competitive prices...for a food court. Avoid if: You were hoping for the more memorable experience from their other location, or you don't want to wait 10 minutes for your fast food. Something surprising: It's basically a one-person operation. Reservation needed? No, counter service only. Overall Experience: 2/5. For all of the hype about this place online, it's far from memorable. The food was good (not great) - honestly, the fries were the best part. While watching the food being prepared, there were definitely some questionable hygiene practices that were hard to forget while eating the food (use and storage of utensils, handling money then food without handwashing, storage of cleaning towels). It's a food court - what can you expect? Value for Price: 3 Sanitation: 1 Food Quality: 3 Menu Precision: 4 Service Quality: 2 Timing: 2 Decor: 2 Access: 4 — 5 among the best 4 strong 3 not too bad 2 mediocre 1 never again

Service was good but food was awful. Don’t bother with the breakfast sandwich. It’s made with rubbery powdered eggs and microwave bacon. How much could it really cost to use a real egg? Do better.

Legal Seafood has been a long time favorite over the years. Not sure if it’s going downhill or getting too big. This location lacks service in my opinion. 5 people behind the bar to tend to a half full bar. I would have spent more money with just a little more attention given to us the customers vs what the employees do on their time off.

No atmosphere is acceptable in an airport. Yet, the service personnel were unfriendly. When we got our salmon, which showed no sign of being grilled, perhaps simply microwaved, the service lady aggressively yelled. And her co-worker helped on. Is it a Legal?!

Located in the Waterfront/North End area of Boston, the Boston Sail Loft is a beloved maritime establishment offering stunning views through its floor-to-ceiling windows. This no-frills joint is a seafood lover's paradise, serving up classic Boston dishes like perfectly-light battered and fried haddock and award-winning clam chowder. The generous portions of fish and chips and lobster rolls make it a go-to spot for locals.
You have to go here!! Trust me, you won’t regret it! It’s a cute little shack right on the water, great location. The host was amazing from the start. He told us it would be about a 45 minute wait - which we were willing to do. Right as we were gonna put our name in, two spots opened up at the bar and we got right in! I got the clam chowder and my boyfriend got the lobster bisque. The chowder was the best I’ve ever had. Generous portion, piping hot, great flavor. The bisque had huge chunks of lobster in it, which was great. The bartenders were friendly and helpful. We loved looking out the window at the harbor while we ate. 12/10 We can’t wait to come back next time we’re in Boston!

It's right off the water, bustling with people even on a weekday. The wait was about 20 min but well worth the wait. Andrea was my server and she made great suggestions, very personable and delivered awesome service. My glass was never empty, the food came out hot and quick. My party tried the clam chowder and it was one of my favorites so far in Boston. The lobster roll was juicy- the traditional mayo one did not disappoint the group. I ordered the fish and chips and that was really good too! The atmosphere is crowded but you can hear the people you're with. Definitely very busy and packed. It's a must try if you are craving some seafood!
Amy B — Google review
Seafood spot on the water with cozy vibes, and possibly the best clam chowder ever. Went here with the family on a Tuesday, sat down at a 4 top near the window right away. Kids got basics - grilled cheese and Mac and cheese, and they were happy. Our fried clam appetizer was probably the one thing I could have skipped - it was fine but nothing special, and expensive. Bowl of clam chowder was the standout - creamy but not too heavy, herby, full of clams and potatoes. It was honestly perfect. This is exactly what is needed when it’s 30 degrees outside. My wife got the fish and chips, and I got a halibut/lobster special. Both of our meals were great. I feel that beer batter tempura fish is the ultimate way to do fish and chips, and although this isn’t that it was still pretty good. The halibut was well cooked, flaky, juicy, and the lobster sauce of course kicked it up a notch. I hear the lobster rolls here are good as well, but we didn’t try it today. Can’t go wrong here I believe.
Joshua B — Google review
Boat captain recommended the place so we went for lunch today . She was right 100%. We went right past noon and was told about 45 min wait but we got seated in about 20 min. Best lobster roll and lobster bisque I ever had. Lobster ravioli was on point and fried shrimp and clam were very light butter and great. Shrimp scampi sauce lemon flavor was little too overpowering but nice garlic flavor with huge shrimps. Each dish is about $40 and bit pricy for lunch but well worth spending it Highly recommended

We were here the week of November 12 for our anniversary twice! The first time we came to try the recommended clam chowder (which is amazing!) and the second we came back for our anniversary dinner and had the lobster rolls (and more chowder!). The restaurant was warm and cozy and the service both times was above and beyond! Can’t wait to be back in the Boston area for more of the clam chowder and good times!

Boston Sail Loft delivers that classic, no-frills New England charm that makes you feel instantly anchored in the heart of Boston. The clam chowder is truly exceptional—rich, creamy, and loaded with fresh clams, it sets the standard for what Boston chowder should be. The lobster roll is equally impressive, generously filled with sweet, perfectly cooked lobster and served in a simple, traditional style that lets the ingredients shine. The entire experience feels deeply authentic, from the waterfront views to the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. It’s the kind of place that captures the city’s maritime spirit and keeps you coming back for the timeless flavors and unmistakable sense of place. A must-stop for anyone craving a true Boston experience.

Boston Sail Loft prepares the best lobster in all of Boston harbor. Their steamed lobster, lobster roll, and lobster mac and cheese are all phenomenal dishes that are generously portioned. Bova's Bakery, located in the heart of Boston's Little Italy, has been a beloved family-owned establishment since 1926. This 24-hour bakery offers an array of delectable Italian specialties including cannoli, cookies, pastries, and pies. In addition to sweet treats, Bova's also serves savory options such as calzones, sub sandwiches, and Sicilian-style pizza.
Really good. We had planned to go to Modern or Mike’s after dinner but the lines were crazy long. Earlier in the day, our doorman at The Dagny Hotel told us about Bova’s. We walked a couple of blocks to get there and their line was much shorter. From the time we joined the line, to walking out with our purchase was about 15 minutes at around 8pm on a Saturday night. We grabbed a Cannoli and a package of Lemon cake bites of some sort. Both were great. For such a small shop, Bova’s had a lot of variety or both baked sweet goods and savory food items. If you’ve been to Boston before, next time, give Bova’s a try. It’s only about a 5 minutes walk from Hanover St.

It’s an experience to say the least! Be ready to order when it’s your turn or they’ll skip right over you. Even if you just take a little too long like my husband did. The line was long but very efficient and moved quickly. The line was almost out the door when we entered and we were in and out within 10 or so minutes. The pecan pie bar is the best I’ve ever had in my life. I don’t even like cannolis but I like theirs!

Don’t let the line discourage you, it moves quickly! They have an array of pastries like cookies, cakes, cannoli, and so much more. They even have savory options like ham & cheese croissants, calzones, pizza slices and arancini (rice balls). The amount of treats they have is outstanding! You want to leave with a bit of everything! Staff is nice and they answered all of my questions. I got the ham and cheese croissant, steak and cheese arancini and the chocolate chip rugelach. Listen, the ham and cheese croissant didn’t even make it up the street! I literally turned back around and ordered more treats. The croissant is buttery and flaky. I had the rugelach for dessert and that was so good. The steak & cheese arancini is so tasty and filling. I can’t wait to try more pastries off the menu. This spot is conveniently located right in the heart of Little Italy. And did I forget to mention that it is 24/7? Definitely check them out!

Oh my goodness. 🤤🤤🤤 the crème brûlée cannoli was delicious. I ate a cannoli from another place the day before and thought I wouldn’t eat another one bc it wasn’t that great. However, this cannoli has changed my mind. Turns out you just need to have one from the right place. Which is this place. I also orders the Oreo cannoli and Oreo cheesecake. All three things were phenomenal.
Hannah T — Google review
Certainly better than the other bakeries in the area. Small, family run, and crazy efficient. Can be tough to know what you want as people stand way too close to the cases. The place is on par with the best in the remaining Italian-American enclaves in the US. Great pastries, good arancini, and solid, traditional cannoli. Individual canolo filled on the spot. When the line gets long they try to stay ahead of it, but probably never filled more than a few minutes before you get your. The Florentine cannolo is an absolute treat and worth the wait. The non-pastries are considered "drunk food" by the locals, but are still good.

Bova’s is not a spot to stop into for one thing, because it’s next to impossible. The smell from all the pastries and baked goods hits you before you even step in. We got 3 cannolis and a whale tail.. oh my. They were absolutely delicious & not too overly sweet. It’s open 24/7, so you don’t have to find a perfect time to come in. This spot is exactly what a bakery should be. Although we only had a few pastries, they had an amazing assortment of bread and other food too.

You’re in Boston, you’re craving old school Italian food, head to the North End! Any of the local spots are amazing and will satisfy your tastes. BUT afterwards, don’t get dessert in the restaurant. Instead head straight up the block to Bovas Bakery. Wait on the long line that usually can be seen coming out of the front door, it’s worth it! Every pastry and cake is fresh, soft and deliciously sweet! You can taste the quality with each bite! And it’s not expensive at all. We wanted to sample a few items so we got the whoopie pie, the black and white cookie and the Boston crème donut. All were out of this world and just $18 for everything! We walked down the block, sat on a bench and devoured everything! The whoopie pie was by far the best thing we had that day, get one, you’ll thank me!

We found this place by chance. Seeing it's good reviews, we gave it a shot. The cannoli's were delicious! All the ones I had previously tried were extremely sweet. We also tried the tiramasu, which admittedly took me a few bites to appreciate. We then tried Mike's, because our trolley guides recommended them but we assume they must get paid for that because Bova's is far superior!

If you're in the mood for a delicious lobster roll, head over to Luke's Lobster Back Bay in Boston. They have an extensive menu of seafood dishes that will sure satisfy your taste buds. If you're looking for something a bit different, try their crab rolls!
Tried a lobster roll for the first time and had a great experience! The staff were super friendly and helpful — they even offered a kid’s portion so I could try it out. The lobster was perfectly cooked, the sauce was flavorful, and the bun was soft and fresh. Everything tasted amazing. No regrets at all — definitely recommend it!
Betul U — Google review
I tried the sampler with lobster, crab, and shrimp, which came with a free drink and chips. The seafood was flavorful, and the buttered bread was a nice touch. They really did a great job bringing out the best in the seafood. The only downside was that it was served a bit too cold, which took away from the overall experience.
Arefeh G — Google review
A cozy and welcoming spot with quick service and an easy-to-navigate menu. I tried the Seafood Roll Flight—lobster, crab, and shrimp—and each one was packed with flavor. Definitely worth trying if you want a little taste of everything. Also had Luke’s warm Lobster Roll, and it was outstanding: buttery, tender lobster in a perfectly toasted bun. Both dishes came with chips and a soft drink, making it a satisfying combo. Staff were friendly and made the experience even better. A great place for a casual seafood fix!

Luke's Lobster features lobster rolls overflowing with fresh chunks of lobster meat in butter and lemon, served on a toasted, buttery split-top bun. The clam chowder is creamy and comforting. Portions were small and kind of pricey. Service is friendly and efficient and the decor is very nautical. It's a great place for a quick lunch or a light dinner.

I ordered lobster roll and clam chowder (set with snack and soft drink. It is a little pricy ( $40+ after tipping) but taste is perfect (both lobster roll and soup). There is plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor. Serving is quick. Very good for visitors.
Su X — Google review
I'm not a real lobster roll fan, so my comment is somewhat skewed. I did like the variety of small rolls to get an idea of each, lobster, crab and shrimp. Got me, I guess is the meat was warm, I might like a little more. Surprisingly, I had the kids hotdog and loved it. I think it's mostly the toasted bread...lol

After exploring the stunning Boston Public Library, we need a quick bite for lunch, luckily, Luke’s Lobster Back Bay was just around the corner. The place is very clean and has a chill beachside vibe. We ordered the Seafood Roll Flight, which was perfect for sampling everything. The lobster roll was very fresh, and both the crab and shrimp were packed with flavor. The drinks were also unique and refreshing, what a nice surprise! For a fast casual spot, the experience is exceptional. Highly recommended if you’re in the area and want something quick but satisfying.

Perfect place for trying lobster rolls first time . They have rolls flight which have 3 small rolls. Lobster, shrimp and crab. I liked shrimp one best. Parking is available outside on street. It can be tight as it is busy area.

Bar & grill
Located in Faneuil Hall, Salty Dog Seafood Grille & Bar is a bustling seafood outpost with a patio. The restaurant sources its seafood from the New England coast and uses classic local recipes and cooking techniques. Customers can enjoy a variety of dishes, such as the Fisherman's Platter or the flavorful fish sandwich. While some patrons have noted occasional service lapses, many appreciate the pleasant outdoor atmosphere with nearby street performers.
It’s been 3 years I wanted to lunch there and I finally did it. I was not disappointed. Good hospitality and super food. We all ate different meals (we were 4) and each of us was satisfied. I recommend

Great seafood in an outdoor setting, we got the fisherman's platter with scallops, clams, fish, shrimp and fries, plus a crab cake. Salty Dog house beer was good, perfect for a hot summer day!

I had a great time talking with the crew and learning more about their experiences after moving to the city. The seafood bake was delicious, and the local beer was yummy too. Very dive bar feel — perfect for anyone wanting a truly local spot to enjoy fresh seafood and good vibes. Had great suggestions for local pastries and places to visit.

We were visiting Boston from out of State This place has the worst manager I have ever seen ! So much attitude, 0 professionalism We came to eat in a very SUNNy hot day but they had umbrellas … we thought we would be fine We had just started eating when some wind came by and blew our umbrellas ( extremely OLD ones by the way, broken too - look at pictures ) so we had to shut them or we would MOST LIKELY get HURT‼️ Other side of restaurant had a lot of shade and was empty ( mngr didn’t want to move us there saying it was closed due to no waiters on that side 🙄 I would think ours could simply help us there but … ) We had to eat our food so fast due to the hot sun hitting us !!! We had a newborn and a toddler along with us. At the end I asked the manager if we could get a discount on our $393.57 bill ( since we had to rush , our drinks got so hot, we were all sweating … he basically laughed at me saying of course not. I did explain to him nicely how we had a very unpleasant lunch due to sun hitting us, babies were uncomfortable etc and he just said : that’s not my business 😳 Completely jerk honestly! When I told him he needed to learn some costumer service he again laughed at me and waived by by Oh by the way it was June 22 when Boston had a heat wave … Horrible experience!
Tati A — Google review
We had lunch at Salty Dog Seafood in Faneuil Hall Marketplace and grabbed seats at the outdoor bar on a hot day. It’s a great place for people-watching and soaking in the Boston vibe, but the heat made us grateful for the umbrellas and cold drinks. Speaking of drinks — they were good but not great. Both of ours felt a little watered down, and while they were refreshing, they lacked that extra punch you expect from a solid cocktail. I ordered the lobster roll, which came cold with a side of hot butter. The lobster meat was fresh and generous, but the roll itself was very plain — no seasoning or dressing, just lobster on a toasted bun. It was okay, but I really wish they offered a warm version with butter mixed in. My girlfriend had the lobster casserole-style dish, which turned out to be the star of the meal. It was a rich, creamy mix of lobster meat, scallops, shrimp, and white fish, baked in a lemon-herb cream sauce and topped with buttery breadcrumbs over rice. Flavorful, comforting, and definitely something we’d order again. Service was fast, and the bill came in under $100 for two lobster dishes and drinks — pretty reasonable for a seafood lunch in the heart of Boston. Overall: If you're in the area and want a quick seafood stop, Salty Dog delivers a decent experience. The lobster roll might not wow you, but the lobster casserole is worth a try. Just don’t expect the cocktails to knock your socks off.

Takeout Restaurant
Nestled in the bustling Faneuil Hall at Quincy Market, Boston Chowda Co. has been a beloved staple for over 25 years, delighting both locals and tourists with its mouthwatering New England fare. This quick-serve eatery specializes in an impressive selection of chowders served in warm, crusty bread bowls—perfect for those chilly Boston days. Guests can savor rich options like Rockport Lobster Bisque, Plymouth Corn Chowder, and even hearty Paul Revere Chili.
First time visiting Boston and had to try a lobster roll — Boston Chowda Co. nailed it! The hot butter lobster roll was packed with tender lobster in a perfectly toasted roll, and the clam chowder was creamy and full of flavor. Quick service, generous portions, and a true New England seafood experience. Highly recommend!
Alex B — Google review
The lobster roll special was okay for what the price was. It was everything that I was looking for in a roll — doused in butter, loaded roll of actual lobster, and a light bun. Still, for almost $60, always want more. The clam chowder was pretty good, very filling, so I’d recommend getting the small. Pink lemonade was too sweet and artificial tasting, couldn’t finish it. The shop stuck out in the busy market — loved the sign design and the showcase of food. Finding a place to sit can be hard, just gotta keep an eye out. Lobster roll: 8.7 Clam chowder: 7.5 Pink lemonade: 3.2
Athena L — Google review
Good food. Clam chowder in the bread was good looks big but not much chowder ones you start to eat, more bun the the soup. The crab cakes were very good, delicious, full of flavour.
Veronika 7 — Google review
There are lots of seafood options in Quincy Market, but this was the cheapest New England clam chowder ($7.27 for a small) so I gave it a try. It was tasty but very potato heavy, so it felt almost more like a potato soup than a real clam chowder. The staff were really quick and made things as efficient as possible with how crazy the environment can get, which I appreciated.
Madeline K — Google review
Last time I was in Quincy Market while visiting Boston I had their New England Clam Chowder and it was very good. So I came back while visiting again and had the lobster bisque which I really wanted to try previously. 😊 Really good! 👍 Huge claws of lobster meat. Lots of 🦞 😋 Delicious and hot. Warmed me up on a cool Fall day! Friendly service. Highly recommend.
Kristi G — Google review
Hot Lobster Roll & Chowda combo is the flagship item here—for good reason. Toasted bun, hot butter, chunky chowder, warm not hot. Nice staff, they get you in and out of there in minutes.
Braxton Z — Google review
When one is in Boston, they eat Clam Chowder. Our tour bus stopped at Quincy Market, where I found Boston Chowda Co. One small cup of chowder was nearly $8, which ate up my lunch budget, so I was unable to try the Lobster Roll, which I also wanted to try. There was a combination platter, and I learned that lobster is also out of my price range. The line to order was long, and the employees were busy. Make up your mind what you want before you get in line, or they'll move past you. The chowder was served not. There was a small eating area around the corner where one could stand at a counter to eat. The chowder was okay.
Celeste R — Google review
What a shame…this place is the definition of false advertising. The lobster rolls are tiny, with barely any meat, and they taste very bland just like the flavor of the bread/garlic. The main issue is the quantity of lobster for the price. It’s a similar price to Neptune lobster ~$41-42, for maybe 1/5 of the lobster. See the photo with a lemon on top for reference. The only redeeming factor is the clam chowder, which is still overpriced but at least has a robust and decent flavor. I would recommend skipping this place and trying other options in the city, unless you like wasting money.

Located on Wollaston Beach, Tony's Clam Shop is a seasonal dining spot that has been serving up fresh seafood since 1964. With a big outdoor patio offering beach views, it's the perfect place to enjoy lobster rolls and other delicious seafood dishes. The menu includes jumbo broiled shrimp, lobster-salad rolls, and Middle Eastern specialties from the Kandalaft family.
Great spot for the summer sitting out front facing the ocean! They hire all the young folks for the summer. which is great they do a great job. I had a broiled haddock dinner with rice pilaf, and a Greek salad on the side , my husband had a fried seafood platter! They did a great job with both. My heart had the right amount of seasoning and lemon on it. The rice pilaf was a little dry this time. This place gets really packed. They are great steamers and lobster roll as well. I would say the best seafood in the Boston area.

Food was amazing! Great views too! Loved the steamers and fried oysters! Only thing amiss was the dog water bowl was not fresh. (I am sure this was a minor oversight) Definitely coming again!

Tony’s Clam Shop is a must visit when you're in Quincy! Nestled right across from Quincy Bay Beach, this spot offers unbeatable views, especially at sunset. We sat outside and watched the sky light up over the bay while enjoying fresh, flavorful seafood. My daughter had the Maine steamers (broiled clams), and I went with the cold Maine lobster tail. Both were delicious and served in generous portions. The atmosphere was relaxed, coastal, and perfect for unwinding after a busy day driving from the Philly area to Boston. We were just in town for a few days visiting colleges in Boston, and staying in Quincy turned out to be ideal. It gave us easy access to the city, while offering peaceful waterfront vibes and great food just steps away. Tony’s is one of those places you’ll remember long after the trip, definitely going back when we’re in the area again!

Best fish n chips and fried clams I’ve had in a long time! Fish was fried to perfection. Thick, light and juicy. Whole belly clams were as good as they come. Fries were tasty but needed a little salt. What I like most was the breading didn’t fall off and nothing was overly greasy. Well worth the price at this joint.

We met a couple at a bar in Salem and they mentioned if we want amazing fish and chips (and lobster rolls) to check these guys out. We were going to tour the USS Salem so we stopped here for lunch. We got fish and chips, fried clam strips, clam chowder and coleslaw. 10/10 For all of it. No room to try the lobster roll but everything else was AWESOME! It’s super cute and sits across the street from the beach.

I’ve been living in Boston my entire life and have NEVER heard of this place until today. My sister told me about it and we had to go. We have been craving fresh authentic seafood for a while. Upon arrival it was sort of busy but they have a great system which helped move lines along. I mean it’s your basic clam shop in Quincy, walk up to counter and order and then wait for food to be cooked. We had met a worker named Victoria ( who was so amazingly helpful, kind and so down to earth) along with the food she made our experience that much more top tier… Okay let’s get to the food deets… I ordered a seafood plate which came with calamari ( rings and tentacles ), shrimp ( huge), fish not sure what kind but by far was DIVINE ( wanna say haddock or cod), scallops, clam strips ( which I opted out b/c that’s not my cup of tea, so they gave me extra calamari and shrimps. All this was paired w/fries delicious which all cost around $42 well worth it. I noticed someone else had onion rings which looked out of this world and boy oh boy I tell you I’m glad I did a side order because they were sooooo good, pricing around $8-9. Very fulfilling so much I was able to share with others in my party. The food was NOT salty at all or greasy, and the best part was, it’s fried to perfection 👌🏾All that was needed was ketchup, hot sauce (gotta have it😌) and tarter sauce ( my preference). Victoria recommended the coleslaw which was 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾 happy I took her advice. Now I’m a person who is extremely picky about coleslaw, but not here it’s superb and pairs well with the fish.. My daughter doesn’t like seafood at all, so she got the steak and cheese sub ( sorry didn’t get pics but trust me looked great) the bread looked like it was freshly baked and she too said the meat was seasoned well ( not salty). Her meal came with a bag of chips and a pickle for about $16. She wanted my fries which worked out well since I got onion rings.. So when ordering if you want fries tell them while ordering and opt out the chips, they probably will up charge but again well worth it… The Shirley Temples seemed to be a hit so thats what we ordered and my daughter loved it but to me it was a bit sweet. ( I’m used to drinking water) my sister got an Arnold Palmer in which she really enjoyed. * Forgot to mention lots of different options to choose from even healthy ones like broiled seafood, salads, fresh clams and lobster rolls etc. Atmosphere: Depending the weather they have tables with little cover tents to sit under and eat. Scenery is beautifully because the beach is in the background. Again depending on time you go you will have the sunset to look at while eating. But if that’s not your thing no problem there’s plenty of eating tables inside, which were very clean and big windows to still enjoy the sunsets and views of beach. Bathrooms were available for use as well. In addition per Victoria they have a bar out back w/ live band music ( you will have to check on social media because the days/times vary. [I did see people ordering drinks inside as well] All in all this place is a 💎 and will be my new favorite seafood spot! * Most questions about menu specifics can be seen on there website *
Bree M — Google review
It was my wife and I first lobster roll. We had it with melted butter. Tony's had plenty of food in the order that included clam chowder, clam fritters, and fries. The staff was very helpful and the atmosphere was typical of a beachside restaurant.
Chad B — Google review
Everything at Tony’s was exactly as I’d hoped. I came for the hype — and it delivered. Their lobster roll: generous chunks of lobster, no mince, no fillers, just sweet, fresh lobster tucked into a perfectly toasted hoagie. The portion shown was for three, yet it could have easily satisfied six. Pure lobster bliss.

The menu includes a must-try Tagliatelle Con Aragosta, featuring fresh lobster and black truffles. Came with a group of 12 and were seated upstairs on the second floor (the first floor looked poppin’ with plenty of outdoor couch seating and faux fireplaces). Seems like a good number of the staff was green- from initially not being willing to seat us until all of our group had arrived despite us being willing to order for everyone (the manager ultimately did get us seated), to one of our servers almost taking away our seafood tower before we had even taken the crab claw off. The food itself was great though- I thought my mushroom spaghetti was delicious and the bread pudding was a perfect end to a solid meal.

I visited Mare Oyster Bar recently and was let down by one thing. When booking, I noted we were celebrating a birthday and asked for a candle with dessert. I even called the day of to confirm, and they assured me it was noted. But when the time came, nothing happened. This was the main reason I actually went, and it mattered for the occasion. I left disappointed. Also it was a Wednesday evening and wasn’t that packed. Food was ok It also made me wonder if being the only people of color there had something to do with the lack of attention. I can’t say for sure, but it crossed my mind.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mare Oyster Bar was an absolute gem during my visit to Boston! My colleagues insisted we try it, and I’m so glad they did. The back patio offers breathtaking views of the city, and the atmosphere is both elegant and cozy. After an unforgettable seafood dinner, we relaxed on soft couches by the firelight with a few glasses of wine—pure perfection. The seafood was fresh and divine, and the desserts were an ideal sweet finish. A must-visit spot for anyone in Boston!

This place came recommended by a friend for good seafood. We tried the half shellfish tower to start which was so fresh and delicious! Our mains included the swordfish, the surf and turf appetizer, and kids shared the table pasta. The food was amazing, the staff was great and atmosphere was perfect. Definitely recommend this spot.

We visited Mare Oyster Bar last night and had mixed feelings overall. The vibe out back near the fire pits was definitely a highlight — nice atmosphere and a great spot for drinks. The cocktails were excellent, especially the martinis and the Mare Inferno tequila drink. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the setting. The appetizers were just okay, and the trio crudo was bland and oddly warm. The surf and turf tasted good but was plated in a way that didn’t really make sense. The two pasta dishes (mushroom truffle) were solid but not memorable. The biggest disappointment was the grilled veal chop. At $62, I expected a generous cut, nicely seared and cooked with care. Instead, it was small, lacked any char, and was overcooked — more boiled than grilled. For the price point, it really missed the mark. Mare has a nice atmosphere and great drinks, but the food quality and execution didn’t match the experience. We won’t be heading back for dinner.

One of the sleeper spots in the North End, Mare takes its name from their delicious selection of fresh seafood served by expert professional staff. They do Cacio e Pepe tableside, their raw oyster selection is equisite, and they have an extensive selections of top shelf wine and cocktails. Specials often include dishes like halibut served Mediterranean style which you don’t want to miss. A bit spendy, this is a place for a special occasion or a “treat yo self” kind of night.

Beautiful restaurant and the serving plates and bowls were nice. Had some cocktails then enjoyed sake with dinner. It was noisy and hard to hear others in our group of 6 which made conversation hard with people not sitting next to your. Service was good but would have expected a little better given the prices they charge. Food was good but a little on the expensive side for the portion size and what they were serving.

I was only looking for a quick meal because I was short on time. I actually visited here twice waiting for a seat at the bar. When I did find a seat, I was giving water right away! And they asked me what I wanted to drink and they didn't have unsweetened iced tea. I settled for a ginger beer instead. It was served iced and with a lime. I ordered the the Sesame Noodles 🍜 and they arrived quickly! My server pulled up a container and the noodles moved out across my plate! I was giving both a fork and chopsticks. They were tasty! I wanted to try their Sushi but I was short on time. Another person ordered Sushi and I watched it being made. It is very busy here on a Saturday night! Be prepared for a wait if you don't have a reservation. It is a little loud in there. I am going to recommend this restaurant and I want to come back and try different items!

Food was pretty good, no complains about it at all and the ambience is really nice too. My biggest complain is the service. Our waiter refused to even meet our eyes. I don’t understand why she kept busy with every other table she was serving except us. We had to wait 30 mins before our table was cleared. We paid extra to get our own birthday cake in, we had to wait for the server for 20 mins to bring it out after lighting our own candles, and after she did, she just left the cake there. We kept raising her hand to flag her but she refused to meet our eyes. How do you expect us to eat the cake? With our hands? So disappointed. This felt like we were being disrespected and discriminated. I loved the food but I would never come back here because of the service we received.

If you are looking for an excellent Nikkei (Peruvian/Japanese) restaurant, this is it! The food was extraordinary from flavors to presentation, by far one of the best meals we've had. The combinations of flavors do honor the Peruvian and Japanese fusion cuisine. For sure, is a place we will be returning on a regular basis.

Did a walk in into this place with my sons. The interior decor was splendid. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the dishes and had great suggestions based on our needs. We ordered couple of drinks, sake. The cocktails were not that mention able but the sake was great. Wish they also served warm sake. No harm done there :) We ordered Tofu Yakiniku, Nasu Dragon, veggie fried rice, Bo Bo chicken and veggie buns. The food was amazingly delicious. The rolls were perfectly made. For dessert we had the big fish...superb ending to a great dinner. Kudos to the waiter 😀

Boston & Maine Fish Co is a seafood counter located in Faneuil Hall Marketplace, offering a variety of fresh seafood options such as lobster, clam chowder, raw bar items, and salads. The local shellfish selection includes Ipswich and Essex clams, Atlantic lobsters from Maine, Wellfleet and Island Creek oysters, scallops, mussels, and shrimp.
For a market stall food place, they do a good but slightly expensive job. There is plenty of space to sit and relax in the market place. Lots of food stalls to choose from. We tried the chowder and lobster roll. About $45 but quite taster although if you are used to cuisine from the South such as New Orleans, you may want to bring some hot sauce 😉

I ordered the steamer, lobster roll, and clam chowder, and honestly, the food was awful. Before ordering, I asked the guy in the picture how the steamers were—he said they were really good. Turned out they were full of sand and completely inedible. The lobster roll was just average—not what I expected at all. On top of that, the service was terrible. When I told the guy about the sand in the steamers, he just told me to rinse them with water. Definitely not coming back.

The hot buttered lobster rolls are delicious. Sure, you’ll get more quantity and cheaper prices in other places but everything in the food hall is pricey. Plus, the line was shorter than the other lobster roll place nearby.
Osama M — Google review
The lobster roll was ok, but was not freshly prepared. Price was a bit high for the taste and experience.
Mon O — Google review
Best clam chowder I've ever had! The chowder itself is a great bang for your buck, but the the rest of the menu is a bit too expensive for what you get. The lobster rolls I had didn't meet my expectations. Next time I go, I'm just getting a big ol' bowl of chowda.
Lilyana S — Google review
I ordered the white fish with salads & later ordered rice pilaf. The fish was fresh but probably was cooked a while ago so it was pretty cold. The rice was not good. Salads ok so so
Lan H — Google review
It's got terrible value for money. Just walk a couple steps further in and you can snag the same lobster roll salad for half the price. Plus, that lobster roll bread is super thick with barely any lobster meat in it. The tuna skewers taste awful too.
Lin Z — Google review
I made a rookie mistake! Used to love Faneuil Hall and the food there. Yeah it’s always been a tourist trap food-wise, but I liked it. This was not good. The clam chowder was ok, the ginger ale was good (!) But the lobster roll was not. Not much lobster, covered in jar-lic, barely warm and not super fresh out of the pot, and on a roll that had sat. Not good. And the seating area was disguising. Fifty one dollars.

Sullivan's Castle Island restaurant is a cheap and easy option for a summer picnic in South Boston. The standout item on the menu is the $2.60 steamed hot dog with mustard, relish, and onions - perfect for rolling back to your friends on the nearby Southie Rivieria beaches.
It's Castle Island..what better way to enjoy your time here than to stop and check out Sullivan's! Don't worry about the line, it moves fast, just like the staff here. Lots of Sullivan swag to purchase upon entrance. The menu is vast; lots of options to choose from. Staff is very friendly here too!

Too busy for my taste. Hard to find a table to sit. I had to walk a bit to find an available bench in the park. The staff were kind, but they were a bit confused with the orders. I ordered baked fish with rice and got baked fish with French fries instead. The prices are reasonable.

Grabbed Sullivan’s one night for a quick dinner. We had a couple double cheeseburgers (those were good), a few hot dogs (nothing special), a chili and cheese dog (tasted good but the bun was too soggy, still good though), and some onion rings (would not get those again). Went back for some dessert and had a couple of shakes. Service was okay, not friendly and they closed early…said they were open until 8:30 but actually closed 15 minutes before that, we almost didn’t get to order our dessert because of that.

Don’t get the lobster roll unless you really like lobster; classic food doesn’t look like the picture problem; at a whoppin’ $24, the sandwich was way too small. Fried pickles were top yummy. Burgers were good too. Outdoor dining only.

Came in expecting high prices for an attraction location and got blown away with how reasonable it was. Food was super good. Best lobster roll I've had for a reasonable price in a long time. Food also came out super quick for it being a busy day. Great place and great prices for a beautiful location.

The food was amazing!!!! The double cheese burgers were to die for. We also got homemade onion rings that were heavenly. The service was fast and the food was hot. We were a party of 4 and we all highly recommend it!

I mean, its OK. I was greeted by a rather rude cashier, but thats OK. Food came semi-quickly, which was cool. Fish sandwich was kind of smoothed, but it was cooked well. Crispy and flakey. On the smaller side. The Packaged tarter was bleh. I prefer homemade. Nothing special to write home about..

This was our first time and we are fans! The food was so good! We had oysters and a lobster roll and the duck. Everything was phenomenal. Our server, Jocelyn, was so sweet and friendly and helpful. The best part was there’s dinghy parking! We will be back for sure!

Ate brunch here for our wedding day a year ago, and celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary with brunch too. The restaurant was very accommodating and responsive to special requests for the semi-private dining area too. Such a gorgeous spot on the water, beautiful interior, excellent service, and delicious food. Spectacular in all ways. Will be coming back year after year (and in between)!

Hands down - fantastic restaurant. Highly recommend. The duck was absolutely fantastic. The swordfish absolutely fantastic. We were celebrating our 36th wedding anniversary with family - just wrote a small mention of it in our reservation. The manager sent over a glass of champagne for a toast for everyone (and even noticed my pregnant daughter-in-law and brought her a non-alcoholic bubbly). Super nice touch. Really appreciated it. Then they carried out this dessert board with candles on it. I thought they were just going to show us their dessert options. Instead they set it down. Lit the candles and the manager came over and Said “we want to wish you a very happy 36th wedding anniversary”. We were all stunned and excited to get to try so many yummy desserts. The tiramisu was the hands down favorite - but all were excellent! Check out the photos below!

Reelhouse is worth a visit if you’re looking for a great view of the Boston skyline — the location really delivers on that. I went on a Wednesday evening, so it wasn’t too crowded, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I was also pleasantly surprised by how good the clam chowder was. I’d be happy to return if I’m in the area. I was able to find street parking, but depending on the time, it could be a challenge.

Walrus & Carpenter Oyster Bar is a vibrant spot with a relaxed vibe that serves locally-sourced seafood, along with a selection of beer and wine. Visitors rave about the delectable dishes such as the lobster roll, clam chowder in a bread bowl, and steamed clams. The food is described as delicious, with particular praise for the freshness of the steamed clams. While some found the lobster on the roll slightly dry, it was still enjoyable overall.
I went with the hot buttered lobster roll with chip for $30. It was a bit pricy but actually one of the cheapest options for a lobster roll in quincy market. I found it to be absolutely delicious and worth the price. The lobster was cooking perfectly and loaded with buttery garlicky goodness 😋 the roll was also toasted to perfection. The staff was very friendly as well.
John S — Google review
Ordered the clam chowder in bread bowl. Staff was friendly and professional. Wasn't expecting much for $12 and got even less. The chowder was well seasoned but had little to no clams and potatoes (see pic). The clams were chewy and potatoes not big enough to bite. The bread bowl was very good. Would probably choose another place with so many choices in area.

Walrus & Carpenter is an awesome little oyster bar. The oysters are super fresh, the drinks go down easy, and the staff makes you feel right at home. Yum, yum, yummi, Yum! This place was delicious! Located inside Quincy Market naturally it's not very big but the food was amazing. I was visiting Boston with my wife and cousin and we wanted to get a lobster roll and some chowda. I love a good raw oyster and after walking around checking some of the other places out this place look pretty good. The service was really quick they really got their whole process down. It also look like that they bake their own bread in this little spot. The Chowder was absolutely amazing! They did have a little station out front where you could get a free sample if you wanted to give it a taste before you got some. The lobster roll was tasty, good size portions, nice and tasty and based in some butter. The oysters were spot on. I asked him what type of oysters he had he answered local, LOL so I'm not sure if he actually knew what kind they had but whatever they were they were very tasty and he showed me how they came in fresh that morning. Going into Quincy Market is a complete Madhouse but if you there looking to get some oysters, lobster roll or chowder I definitely would recommend this place!

Very skimp lobster rolls. They preportion the meat into little ramekins..lobster rolls look nothing like displayed.

We got thr lobster roll, clam chowder in a bread bowl, and steamed clams. We defo enjoyed the food. They were all delicious esp the steamed clams. The lobster on the lobster roll was a bit dry but it was still good as a whole. I would've like some more clams in the chowder but the chowder itself was already thick and rich so it was super satisfying. The steamed clams were VERY fresh. It was an explosion of flavors every time you bite.

Located in the bustling Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Fisherman's Net is a popular food counter known for serving up traditional fried seafood meals and clam chowder bread bowls. Run by a father-son team and their kitchen crew, this spot offers big portions of authentic fish and chips that rival those enjoyed in the UK. Customers praise the fresh fish, crispy fries, and rich-flavored chowder.
I had an excellent experience here, ordered the fried items with all seafood and it was super yummy and fresh. Particularly enjoyed the fried oysters. The guy also packed nicely to make it to go for me. Very satisfying experience eating here.
Judy H — Google review
It’s one of many touristy restaurants inside this market. Ordered the seafood platter; nothing out of the ordinary. Deep fried fish, clam, scallops and shrimps with fries. If they use some Cajun seasonings with the batter and/or the fries, it would enhance the flavors. Some of the clams tasted old.
Travis T — Google review
If you’re looking for quality fish and chips and good service, skip this place. The fish was served in large chunks, which would have been fine if it were high quality, but it wasn’t. The flavor was lacking, the fish had brown spots and skin still on it, and overall it just wasn’t enjoyable. Service was also disappointing. The man at the register handed me the receipt and said, “Please tip us,” then immediately commented on my tip amount to the other worker, something they did with every customer. I get that tips matter, but wait until the guest walks away. Quincy Market is a great spot to explore, but there are far better food options than this. Keep walking.
Andy P — Google review
Probably the worst seafood you can find. The clam chowder was terrible. It was more like a cheap potato soup. I hope I don’t get sick. The fried clam dinner was mostly a mountain of nasty French fries and not many good whole belly clams. Oh and the Cole slaw tastes like it’s gone bad.
Eric C — Google review
Shrimp cocktail plate was good. A little pricey, but it is a tourist location.

Wicked Lobsta, located in Quincy Market, Boston, is a favorite spot for seafood lovers. Visitors praise the naked Maine roll for its reasonable price and generous portion of juicy lobster. The warm and toasty bread complements the flavorful lobster perfectly. Customers recommend trying the special offer that includes a drink, cup of chowder, and roll for a satisfying meal. The buttered bun is highlighted as a standout feature that enhances the overall experience.
This is the best lobster place in town. I travelled from London to try this and it did not disappoint! The guys were real nice and made it to my liking. I originally had one around $34 then my sis and I bought another one as it was so freaking nice. A few days later I also had another one because why not. Brioche roll was so nice and soft and tasty, the lobster was generous. We got asked by other customers if this was good as they tried another and it was not to their liking. Don’t waste you money on others. Get this one and only this!!! 🙏🏽

The main thing I wanted to do in Boston was try a lobster roll! There are many options in Quincy Market, but this one caught my attention. There was a bit of a line, but it moved quickly. You place your order at the register and then wait on the side for it to be prepared. The staff worked at a fast pace, so the service was quick. The seafood display looked fresh and clean. I ordered the naked lobster roll and clam chowder, which came to a whopping $44! The lobster roll was absolutely delicious. The buttered bread was out of this world, and the lobster meat was tender and flavorful. Although the roll looked small, it was surprisingly filling. The clam chowder was the perfect complement for the cold weather. I’m glad I got to try it, but I probably wouldn’t order it again anytime soon since it was quite a splurge. Overall, it was delicious, fresh, and satisfying!
Ariel S — Google review
We visited on a Wednesday in mid-June 2025 for dinner. It wasn't really busy at the time and the guy behind the counter actually looked a little bored. He answered all our questions and also offered us a sample of clam chowda as we were deciding what we wanted to order. We ordered: - Clam chowder bread bowl (the volume of soup is in between the large and small size cups) - Clam chowder large (to refill out bowl after we finished it) - Crab salad sandwich (it was a cheaper option to try and was better than the lobster salad sandwich) - Lobster salad sandwich (a much cheaper option than a traditional lobster roll, also not bad but the crab salad sandwich we enjoyed more) Overall the food was decent. The prices were astronomical and we had seafood and lobster rolls at other places on this trip that were much cheaper. We didn't actually order the lobster roll here but not sure it would've been that much better. The sandwiches we did have were good and satisfied a craving. Not sure I would order from here again just because there are so many other options in the market we wanted to try. So if you need to satisfy some seafood craving, this will do it but there are similar places with lower prices.
David L — Google review
Sheer disappointment. If you are really eager to try lobster meat, I'd highly recommend some other "state". For $40 what I got was, 3 bites of utter misery. I decided to try it out due to certain reviews and reddit recommendations. To my surprise, it didn't live up to any of the hype. The cashier mentioned how substantial the portion size was compared to the seafood sampler. Based on her recommendation, I went with the most popular hot lobster roll with butter. The first level of disappointment started with the visual. It started escalating as I started eating it. For $40, I ended up getting a handful of food- a slice of Pullman loaf (which I believe should've been a hot dog bun), a lemon wedge and some dry and overcooked lobster meat. All my enthusiasm was killed and I started regretting my purchase. There may be a few standalone restaurants in the area that may serve way better rolls. However, I've become extremely averse. After having tried lobster at Nova Scotia and Maine, I really had high expectations of this place but it kills the Boston food scene. If you love lobster🦞 and are eager to try these rolls, go anywhere but here. Save some $$ and don't burn a hole in your pocket.

I loved walking and trying everything at Quincy market but I had to come back to wicked lobsta! Clam chowder has a thicker & richer consistency. I took a few home to go!! So gooooopoood💕
Suntan C — Google review
We visited Boston in late July and along the Freedom Trail we ended up in the Quincy Market. The Market was full of wonderful food options but we knew we wanted to try a lobster roll. After looking at reviews, we chose Wicked Lobsta. I ordered 3 of the hit lobster rolls. The lobster rolls were about $38 each, which appeared to be the rate at all other establishments. The roll is served on a small roll. Each roll comes with a side of hot melted butter and a large lemon wedge. The rolls were tasty but they didn’t really fill us up and they don’t have any sides included in the $38 price. Later that night we had dinner at Legal Seafood and the table next to us ordered a lobster roll. It must have been 4 times larger than the little ones offered at Wicked Lobsta. If your mission is to try a lobster roll I would go to Legal Seafood. If your mission is to eat at Quincy Market then you will enjoy the taste of the lobster roll but after $40 a roll you may not be satisfied. Quincy Market does also offer lots of shopping and souvenir items.

Worst bubble tea I have ever had. My bubble tea was made by pouring a spoon of two different powders together and mixing with a bit of hot water. Then she poured the ice water and ice and mixed it. She then put a few bubbles in the bottom(I hope it was because there were none left). It tasted very artificial and I just dumped it after one sip.

If you're craving a taste of New England, look no further than Kelly's Roast Beef. This beloved fast-food gem has been delighting visitors since 1951, nestled near Revere Beach. Known for its mouthwatering roast beef sandwiches served on perfectly griddled buns, Kelly's also offers an array of delicious options like lobster rolls, fried seafood, and crispy salads.
First time impression. The roast beef sandwich is a touch dry. You will need to add something to moisten the meat such as bbq sauce or mayo. The cheese steak was good. The slaw was really good in my opinion as I enjoy a crunchy slaw with a vinager tang. The interior has many historical pictures on the walls so it was entertaining. The tables were clean and the inside was mostly tidy. It is the typical counter service. Much of the industry is moving to this ordering model. I really miss the distinction between fast food and sit down.

Portions are small and prices are high. I guess to be expected but was shocked at how high! A fisherman's plate with like 6 scallops and 5 medium shrimp and handful of fries was around $32. Never again! This is the honest photo of the plate I got that day.

We placed a takeout order and were very disappointed with both the service and the quality. The estimated pickup time was 9:30, but the order wasn’t ready until around 9:50. On top of that, the food was prepared completely differently than what we requested—no sauce on the side, among other issues. The roast beef sandwich was especially disappointing; it was just sliced beef drenched in an unpleasant sauce. Overall, we were very let down by both the experience and the food
Hani S — Google review
Food was delicious, my friend who lives here suggested getting the onion bun roast beef done 3 way (sauce) and it hit the mark. Fries were plentiful and fried pickles, yummy! Pricing was a little extra is why I gave 4 stars, seeing as my husband got a large roast beef and we got the small but the meat looked the same on all. We would totally be back. Great choice.

Kelly's Roast Beef has been a New England institution. I am sad to say with the prices they now charge and the amount of food on the plate it's no longer worth it. Although the food was very good. My husband and I shared the Seafood Plate Combo which included fish, shrimp, and scallops...for $36.50 + soda and taxes. Kelly's have definitely fallen off. I asked for the fish to be pan seared instead of fried. Take a look at the pictures. Unbelievable for the prices they charge...

SMH Downhill since 05… update 09/27/25 laughable that I thought things would get better after my last visit. Second photo is from today I might as well had told them to dump water all over the fries package them up. The fries are soggy saturated with grease making a clay consistency. Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana is a well-established local pizzeria chain that has been serving coal-fired pies, beer, and wine since 1925. The restaurant offers a clean and bright space with an impressive menu. Customers have praised the quality of their pizzas, highlighting the fresh ingredients and the balance of crispiness and chewiness in the crust. Some recommend trying their Tomato Pie, which is only available from June to September.
I think we are in a pizza coma. It sure was fabulous. They bake their crust using a coal-fired oven. It is perfection - thin and crispy - like we like it. Instead of tomato sauce, they use only fresh tomatoes which I love because that allows the ultra-thin sliced pepperoni, Italian sausage and bacon to shine. We also had onions, green peppers, and mushrooms, plus mozzarella on our pizza. The Italian salad was great too. The best oil and vinegar dressing with crisp, cold greens and veggies. Service was superb.
Karen M — Google review
Service was ok, not busy but it took a while for our pizza to arrive (we had to ask). Shrimp pizza was not hot and had little toppings cheese or sauce. Meat pizza was hot and greasy and the crust was black and the edges overcooked. I just looked at the pictures in the other reviews and ours is by far overcooked. We ordered a small shrimp and a larger meat pizza-shrimp pizza probably sat around till the larger pizza was done. Overpriced and overcooked DRY DRY DRY pizza; do not recommend. We all agreed-waste of time and money. Because of the cost we took the leftovers back to our apartment-ended up throwing it out.

Mariana was a great server! She was very attentive and made sure we had everything! Pizza was amazing as always! We are so lucky to have this pizza place walking distance! They also have a pizza and pitcher deal going on! Such a great deal!

Many thanks Alejandro and Mia for your help! I placed an order for delivery online from Frank Pepe's website for staff at another office location than I for a company lunch. When the order did not arrive due to an error with the DoorDash/UberEats delivery, Alejandro quickly offered support - calling the delivery company to gather more details before calling me back. Alejandro offered to remake the order and attempt delivery with a new driver. The 2nd attempt went perfectly and made it to the team safely. When the order left the store for delivery on the 2nd attempt, Mia even called to check-in so we were in the loop with each step. The receiving team was greatly appreciative as am I for the wonderful people working at the Watertown store!

Great pizza, as always. Travel from WMass, nearly 2hours, to meet there with friends every 6 weeks or so. Server was great! Evelyn Guevara. She has worked with us several times. Always pleasant, helpful and professional.

Frank Anthony's Seaport Market is the brainchild of chef-owner Frank McClelland, who previously operated LEspalier. This all-day cafe offers a more relaxed approach to McClelland's commitment to hyperlocal cooking. The dinner menu features classic dishes such as roasted half chicken, skirt steak with frites, cassoulet, and duck confit. It's also a popular spot for lunch, offering great value and customizable salads.
There are basically no convenience stores in Seaport other than Franks, and to be honest, I’m happy about it. Franks is a reliable go-to whether you need a coffee, full sandwich or just a small snack. They also somehow have a great selection of alcohol, which comes in handy whenever you need a little something or if you're hosting people at your apartment. There really aren’t many places to get beer or liquor in Seaport, so again, Franks for the win!
Josh L — Google review
I’ve been to this place a few times because it’s right near my work. Every time I’ve tried something for breakfast it was lackluster. Had a cold breakfast burrito, a bacon egg and cheese bagel with mostly bagel and one small egg. Customer service is also abysmal, it’s like you’re annoying them as soon as you step into the place. The final straw was when I picked my girlfriend up some bagels on a Saturday morning and the one she was eating had mold on it. Unacceptable, avoid this place like the plague.
Greg Z — Google review
Incredibly disappointing, if this place was run better it would make a killing in the seaport. Had a few sandwiches here, all awful aside from the steak and cheese covered in red sauce which I would give like a 5/10 Guys making the sandwiches are nice guys. Check out woman never says a word and is unfriendly. This place will close soon, you cannot stay open with such poor quality.
Scott — Google review
I’ve been a fan of this spot and love supporting neighborhood businesses, but I have to share one suggestion: at this price point, the subs sandwiches really should be toasted. I asked the staff why they couldn’t toast the bread and was surprised to hear, “We don’t have a toaster for subs just sliced bread”. As your neighbor and regular customer, I’d be happy to help! There are plenty of affordable toaster oven options out there—even Subway uses a basic model that does the job. When you’re charging $15+ for a sub, customers expect at least that level of quality and care. Looking forward to seeing this place continue to improve—I’ll definitely keep coming back, just hoping for a warm, toasted upgrade soon!
Chase H — Google review
DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!! The first time I tried this “sub shop”.. they had no sub rolls … ok.. so I try it again.. I get the wrong sandwich on a wheat wrap… won’t be trying them a 3rd time. Spent $14.00 for a tasteless wheat wrap I didn’t ask for. The courthouse cafeteria next door is better than this and cheaper!!! AVOID
M S — Google review
Deli staff will literally never make the sandwich you want no matter how many times I go my sandwich is made incorrectly, wrong sauces and fillings despite clearly stating what I wanted multiple times, its very frustrating when they will just refuse to put ketchup and mayo on your sandwich and instead do dressings you didn’t ask for and then have to pay $16 for the thing. And if you tell them they made it wrong they get pissed off at you. Terrible delivery experience.
Michael R — Google review
The sandwiches are so bad, they make them in 5 seconds with with no conscientiousness. They can't even be bothered to spread mayo, they just slop it on so it's only on part of the sandwich and then charge $14 for it.
Mitchell C — Google review
I’ve been coming here for years and I love this place because of the deli but groceries wise, they need to do a better job with the merchandising. Every. Single. Time. I have come here I have had to say something about everything being mislabeled. Either the wrong price is listed or you get to the register and it rings up way more expensive. This has happened every time. It’s ridiculous and dishonest.

42Puritan Oyster Bar

Oyster bar restaurant
Cocktail bar
Puritan Oyster Bar, located in Inman Square, Cambridge, is a casual spot opened by renowned chef Will Gilson. The restaurant offers a cozy ambiance and encourages walk-ins. It's perfect for solo dining or a romantic date night. The menu features small plates such as crispy tuna tacos, mini-lobster rolls, and an impressive seafood tower. Guests can also enjoy fresh oysters and customized dishes to accommodate allergies.
My third favorite oyster bar in the GBA so far. I’ll admit, I’d long overlooked this spot, assuming it was merely an extension of Puritan & Company. Tucked into an intimate, chic space—less crowded than other popular oyster bars in the city—this oyster bar turned out to be a gem. We came in for light drinks and dinner around 6:30pm, unaware of their 5–6pm half-off oyster happy hour. We ordered a half dozen oysters anyway, and they were excellent. They seem to rotate their oyster selections, and on this particular day, the Cadillac Mt Oyster was our favorite with its plump texture and briny sweetness. Of course, we couldn’t resist the caviar cones. Visually stunning, the cones featured delicate almond-sesame shells cradling egg salad and a crown of caviar. The cone’s nutty sweetness paired nicely with the caviar, but the mayo-heavy egg salad somewhat dulled the caviar’s pop. Since we were feeling more snacky than hungry, we ordered a bunch from their small plates. Honestly, their entrées seemed to mirror what’s served at Puritan & Company, so the small plates felt more creative and interesting. Of the four we ordered, our favorites were the Scallop Crudo and the Buttered Lobster Toast. The crudo had a decadent mix of melted brown butter and tart gooseberries that gave it an incredible bakery-fresh aroma. It did lean a bit heavy on lemon zest but was still unique and satisfying. Then the buttered lobster toast, which initially seemed like a refined lobster roll. Yet it turned out to be an entirely different experience. The clarified butter had a clean, almost olive oil-like richness, while the butter-soaked toast felt indulgent without becoming overpowering. The lobster-and-scallop mousse filling played a subtle, luxurious supporting role. Would absolutely return for their oyster happy hour—some oysters, a glass of wine, and without question, another round of that heavenly lobster toast.

Best meal i had in boston over 7 days and we spared no expense. Half price oysters, amazing drinks by our bartender Christine, nice setting, and our last night before heading north to the mountains. Perfect way to leave town. Highly recommended!!
Tyler H — Google review
We greatly enjoyed both our recent dinners at Puritan Oyster Bar. We arrived in time to take advantage of the half price oysters served 5-6 and then stayed for dinner. The oysters were the best quality and served beautifully. In fact all the food is presented well. I loved the cod in lobster sauce and my son loved the yellow tail tacos. A special green crab appetizer was delicious and served creatively in a large shell. Our server/bartender Kyle clearly cares about making the experience enjoyable and memorable for all the guests. He noticed that I wasn’t drinking my cocktail and he asked me about my preferences and then created a drink for me that I loved!
Benita G — Google review
Oysters are really good and fresh. I had the steak and surf. The steak and the lobster tail are fantastic.
Soon T — Google review
The oyster selection is great! I also had the crab risotto, which was delicious even though the garnish didn't suit my taste. I had a gin and blueberry cocktail from their menu which was wonderful and so cool to watch the bartender work from the low bar seating. Also El was my party's server and they had great energy-- really friendly and knowledgeable without being too stuffy, which in a place like this can be a fine line to walk. Will definitely be back soon!

Great oyster selection! Their half off before 6pm everyday. I dream about their cucumber mignonette. Highly recommend the dressed oysters! Sat at the bar and had wonderful service, recommendations, and cocktails from bartender Kyle. Will return again & again!

If you're looking for a quintessential seafood experience, look no further than Luke's Lobster Boston Harbor Islands. This charming eatery specializes in Maine-style lobster rolls served on perfectly toasted buns, alongside a delightful clam chowder. Co-founded by a third-generation lobsterman, Luke's has successfully created an international fast-casual chain that emphasizes freshness and quality.
I am from out of town and this is the second Lobster Roll that I have tried. It was fantastic. The butter and seasoning was pretty amazing and the roll was fantastic. I have had both warm and cold from other places. This lobster roll from Luke’s Lobster Boston Harbor Islands is the best that I have tried. I will definitely be coming back here next time I am in town.

I've lived in New England all of my life and have always been spoiled for choice when it comes to seafood choices. I saw this location open at the beginning of the summer, and I've finally gotten to try it. I got the Flight, which consists of 2oz rolls of lobster, crab, and shrimp, with chips and a drink. While all were great, the shrimp and the crab were the standouts for me, definitely don't sleep on those. I loved the seasoning they put on everything, and the complimentary pickle. The workers were really friendly and even talked to me a bit about their sustainable seafood sourcing. I would wholeheartedly recommend them for a relaxed and tasty meal.
Douglas G — Google review
Delicious! This was my first time trying the lobster roll. The bread was perfectly toasted and the butter/mayo portions were just right. There was plenty of crab meat on top too. The lobster roll comes with a drink and chips. If you prefer clams, the chowder was top notch.
Rachel D — Google review
The buttery lobster with crispy brioche bread was amazing! The sampler combo was good, but I would rather recommend the lobster roll as #1, cuz the crab/shrimp rolls were normal
Cea S — Google review
The lobster roll was SO good! I went to a Luke’s Lobster 10 years ago in Boston, and knew I wanted to get Luke’s again when I returned. I got the quarter pound lobster roll with chips and a drink. It’s so simple but so delicious. I’m waiting for Luke’s to open a location in Ohio!! The only reason I gave them a 4 for atmosphere is because it was cold, rainy, and windy, and an outdoor heater would have helped.
Lisa P — Google review
A little shack by the harbour. They have seating in the shaded area but you can also enjoy it in the park across the road for harbour views. I really liked my lobster roll, and the gluten free bun was so soft and buttery - I actually had to check twice that it was gf because it was so soft. Unfortunately, my mum had a poor stomach right after having the clam chowder, which was a lot runnier than we thought it would be.

the roll flight was all I was looking for visiting Boston. this location is great, next to quincy so it's easy to get to, but doesn't have a ton of people and isn't crowded. food was delicious. I'd say the crab was my favorite.
C L — Google review
Excellent place for a quick bite! Recommend the flight of rolls. The bread is toasted but the lobster is not warmed, so if you want a warm lobster roll not the place

Gotten both roast beef sandwiches, lobster roll and fish and chips before. It was very good. Their bbq sauce and ranch is amazing

A great option for lobster rolls, the place my friends and I sated our lobster roll craving. Ambiance wise, it's very nice, it's in Timeout Market. Timeout Market used to be a Sears Warehouse and Distribution Center, but they remodeled into a food hall. All in all, a solid option.
Brandon K — Google review
One of the best lobster rolls I have ever eaten! I ordered the hot version, and it was amazing. Sooo buttery and just the right about of toastiness from the bun! I also ordered the clam chowder which came with crackers, and I think the chips come with any order. The chowder was full of clam and veggies. Definitely worth getting too! Every time I come to Boston, I plan to get their lobster roll again!!

(Backstory)... Let me be completely transparent. I was born and raised on the coast of Florida. I grew up eating all kinds of seafood, but lobster has never been one of my favorites. Over the years, I've always heard people say that you have to visit the New England area to get quality lobster so once I had my vacation details pinned down I knew I would be on the hunt to finally find good lobster. I did lots of research leading up to this trip. If you've been following me, then you may have come across a preview I did about another establishment in Boston that specializes in Maine lobster rolls. After trying them, I was now on the hunt for Connecticut style lobster rolls. Again, this was a first for me, so I was trying to determine which one was better to me. I found Cusser's in the Time Out Market on Fullerton Street. Please make sure you visit this specific location. I'll start out by saying parking is a complete nightmare. No fault of the establishment, but it's in a very busy area with only street parking. I drove around for a while, trying to find someone leaving so I could grab their spot. It is also right near a residential area, and you will be ticketed if tou so not have a parking decal, so be careful. Now, onto the food. My daughter and I arrived right as they opened, which was 5:00 PM. We order 2 warm lobster rolls, onion rings, and 2 drinks. In full transparency, this meal costs me $92. Yes, $92!!! I couldn't believe it, but I paid it, and thank goodness the taste matched the price. Hands down best I've ever had. The roll was warm, toasted, and buttery. The lobster was so succulent and plentiful. The onion rings WERE TO DIE FOR!!!! I have no idea what seasoning was used in this batter, but it was amazing! The meal also came with 2 bags of Cape Code kettle chips. We paired the meal with a sprite and a raspberry lemonade. After finally having quality lobster, I now see what all the hoopla is about 😄 Now I know that Connecticut style lobster rolls are my preference. I went the rest of the trip thinking about this lobster roll. So much so that on the way to the airport, I stopped (at a different location) to get another roll. I just had to get my fix before heading back to Florida. Unfortunately, it was just decent, which I why earlier I said make sure you go to the Fullerton Street location specifically. I can't wait to go back to Boston just to visit this place again.
Kat ( — Google review
I was not too impressed with the quality of the beef or service on my last visit. I will say it was plated very nicely though.
Saul H — Google review
We really enjoyed fries , plenty of people love this appetizer so we really want to eat some and we ordered here , they deliver this fast but when we realized the size of the fries were like bites ( like when you have the last pieces of the bag) and these were little soaked of grease, so I want to the counter to see if the fries were “normal”. The chasier told me that they always serve this size, and if I want another they will do that but the size it will be the same , and yes we got the same fries bites but now crispy . So , if you evaluate the food for only fries that is a regular type of appetizer I do not imagine the menu. It was sad have a experience like this.

Dive Bar, located within the High Street Place Food Hall, offers a unique take on classic New England seafood with a global twist. The menu features must-try lobster rolls and oysters on the half-shell, as well as inventive dishes like the Crispy Cajun Filet of Fish Sandwich with just-spicy-enough Cajun mayo. Guests can enjoy their meal at the raw bar or on the expansive outdoor patio.
Lobster rolls!!! Absolutely delicious rolls and the clam chowder!!! I’m not a fan of coleslaw, but their take is good. I do suggest getting a warm lobster roll and an 8 oz clam chowder. The 3 dollar markup for the warmth is worth it, but also questionable. You’re going to order through a computer and will receive it from a platform. They do not sell drinks, but you can buy drinks from different restaurants in the food hall.
Phil E — Google review
It's a small kitchen in a food hall, you order your food on a tablet and then they put it on a shelf for you to pick up. We ordered 8 oysters for $24. They were pretty decent.
Ella K — Google review
Being honest, I really enjoyed the food here. The menu is slightly limited but even as a picky eater I managed to find something I liked. I got a shrimp bowl. I really enjoyed it, but I will say that some of the flavors didn’t quite go together. Also if you’re not into greasy food then this place is definitely not for you, when they say rice with butter they really mean it. My mother ordered the fish and chips. The French fries were probably my favorite, they do a combination of different styles and they’re all super crispy and well salted.
Beatrice E — Google review
Dive Bar inside of High Street Place Food Hall was a fresh and exciting experience for my friends and I. We sat at the bar to enjoy some oysters. The staff was not only accommodating but very knowledgeable about the oysters available, where they come from, and their flavor profiles. Since there was a good selection to choose from we had the staff surprise us. They shucked the oysters in front of us, and were prepared so well that they slid right into your mouth without any extra work. We started with 5 smaller oysters from Maine and 5 more from a bit north of Maine. The smaller oysters were my favorite since they were naturally sweet. Their natural flavor was delicious all on its own. The lager oysters had a salter flavor that complemented the vinegar and cocktails sauce nicely. They were so yummy we ordered a second round of 10. The raw bar is not all that was exciting. They also serve wine and beer, in addition to other American seafood favorites. We were able to share a glass of rose and a fried shrimp appetizer in addition to the oysters. The fried shrimp was addictive and the rose complemented our food very nicely with its light flavor profile. If you love seafood, this is definitely a place you want to stop for a quick bite.
Allysa — Google review
This is a woman owned business and although I spent more than I had intended on lunch this shrimp po boy did not disappoint. The shrimp was seasoned and crunchy and the sauce was so good with a hint of spice. The fries not pictured was a mix of onion rings, waffled fries that were well seasoned, totts, and shoestring fries. Definitely not be to try.

This is in a hip food hall, amazing quick(10 minutes) seafood! Lobster roll was amazing with lobster pieces seasoned to perfection! The broccoli slaw on the side delish. Oysters were perfect and before 6 you get them for $2! Steal! The clam chowder was loaded with fresh clams not potatoes!
Sarah W — Google review
Excellent lobster rolls! I love how the bun was toasted and I was also given a healthy amount of lobster (5 oz). They were $36 each and well seasoned. They could have maybe used slightly less mayo if I'm being really nitpicky. Otherwise, it was perfect. The coleslaw was also excellent and a nice say to feel healthy.
Alex F — Google review
Went here solo and wished I had ordered more clam chowder! Salad was delicious and fresh, fries were salty but loved the mixed variety. Seriously though, go for the wine and clam chowder
