It's a good place to spend a night with friends. Not the top notch type of a pub, but still very comfortable nice. Restrooms are not in their best shape but they are clean. There is pool table and some playing machines which is a good addition. I don't know if it's always like this but the times I was there it was cash only. But if you won't have cash on you, there is atm machine right inside of the pub.

Best dive bar in Alston, they sell PBR and Narragansett! Shoot pool or throw darts. Booths, high tops, and bar areas. It’s a dive bar the bathroom is not nice. You can smoke right outside the door with the bouncer. Free popcorn for all:)

Goated. Best dive bar in the boston area by far. They sometimes require passports but can't complain when you are near BU campus. Best when you get there early and can secure a dart board or booth and just rip pitchers all night.

The attitude of the man who checks ID is undeniable he told me and my friend that we are too drunk. However we nad only one drink before and he wouldn’t let us in .

The perfect dive, hands down. Popcorn machine, 9 million tvs (almost), live music, pool table squished into a tiny corner, kitschy decor, regulars-- what more could you ask for?

Really great find in Boston! Super bar with bartenders who know how to generously pour. This was a return trip; my prior included dinner at a very reasonable price for some great Boston bar staples. Highly recommend Biddy's for anyone seeking a reasonably priced alternative in Boston. It's a dive bar, and one you will want to go back to.

What an awesome little spot. As a tourist, definitely visit, this little dive is a special place where you really come in contact with the locals and get a genuine feeling for Boston. Well priced beer, we were too late to enjoy the fuller menu, but the bar service, friendliness of the staff and vibe made up for that!

I love this place so much it pains me to tell other people about it because I want it all to myself. You want a true Irish dart bar experience. Here it is. And it’s awesome.

The name says it all. Exit one of Boston’s most expensive areas to shop and live and enter into a World Class level beer/dive bar! The Bartender was also the DJ and kept the place bumping, the food was super tasty and the customers very engaging and approachable! (Hey Johnny!) Ask about the hanging mugs with numbers and dead authors etched on them. If you’re in Boston for a few months, Bukowski’s has a challenge for you.

I've been to this place 60 to 70 times in the 20+ years I've known it. Typically, I'd say I love it - good food, good drink and typically, good people. On 10/18/25, I entered with two friends in tow. We each had two beers and during our time within, we had no contact with any other patrons and limited contact with staff. Despite the above, towards the end of our second beer, we were approached by staff who absurdly asserted that we were ICE Agents and asked us to leave. No further explanation was provided for the fascist position being taken by staff. We left without further incident. Mr. Bukowski would rightfully be ashamed to have his name associated with an establishment that conducts itself in such manner. "What matters most is how well you walk through the fire" - Bukowski. I don't want to impeach this establishment for one incident. I'll likely return and hope for a beer experience next time. But, I will say, to quote Dylan, "the times they are a changing". One would expect that those that view themselves as progressive, and the staff here certainly tries to maintain such an ideal, would investigate a bit further before taking such a fascist stance. Hypocrites!!

I mean, it’s Bukowski’s! It’s a bit of an institution. It’s been here for as long as I can remember, through my grad school days and the birth of my children (the kids are in college now). It’s very loud. It’s good beer. It’s very loud. Did I mention it’s very loud? They play full albums, which is nice, so you can get into the groove of something. It’s the place to go when you’re feeling upbeat, after a Berklee concert, and you don’t mind crowds, and you just need a pint and a big dose of energy! The beer list has improved over the years. They’ve got a nice selection on tap but also some good high gravity and some other items. Again, it’s an institution! Come in just for the vibe and a pint. You won’t be disappointed.

Really fun spot. Popped in after a concert, just for a nightcap. Was really impressed with the food (simple but tasty) and solid beer selection! Our waitress was great (sorry, I forgot your name, but you were great!) Recommend the joint as a cool dive bar in the Fenway area!

Stopped in for.a beer. We're from out of town they had 15 rotating taps. Beer was good and cold. Service was great. And atmosphere was exactly what we love. I call it a dive bar, but they call it a beer bar. We did not try the food, but the plates looked good.

Everybody needs to have a great dive bar. THIS IS IT! Long bar with comfy stools. Lots of seating and standing room along the other side of the room. Limited (but too limited) selection of beers and alcohol which makes it easy to pick one without taking too much time. Bar staff have been around and seen some shit and they aren't going to put up with you're bullshit. They are very nice and super efficient, but they have people to serve. The prices are GREAT, incredible for downtown Boston. I love everything about this place.

Great Dive Bar! The Tam does not have food but you can get delivery or bring food in. Perfect place for simple drinks with reasonable prices. No frills just fun!

Stopped in for a quick beer before a meeting at The Grand Lodge of Masons in Massachusetts. The bar is the same as I remember from 40 plus years ago. Iconic is the best description. Great service, cheap and cold beer. I wish I could have stayed. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

My husband and I came here after some shopping and wanted a low key dinner before heading home. We wanted burgers and this place came recommended by a friend. Really good quality for the price and cool atmosphere. They even had nonalcoholic beer options for my husband who is in a training cycle so he was really happy about that. Quick, no frills, hit the spot, would definitely go back if in the area.

The food was decent and came out quickly, but the service was very poor. There was a confusion wherein the server said they would be unable to split the check so half of our party left. The server was then mad at those of us who stayed, essentially blaming us for getting him in trouble. The atmosphere is chaotic and very dirty. Almost every table is dirty. Would not come back.

Visiting the area and popped in for lunch. Part diner, part bar, all excellent! Friendly staff (thanks Anish!), atmosphere is a bit 50's diner with modern music playing. Not too loud, but enough to get your foot tapping. Ordered the turkey club. The bread to turkey to avocado to tomato to lettuce ratio was perfectly balanced. Bread nicely toasted. Avocado added a wonderful creamy textual element. Everything came together to create an amazingly juicy bite. Their famous double cheeseburger is brilliant. Famous for a reason. Two perfectly cooked patties with cheese. Thick tomato slice, pickle and lettuce. It is juicy, balanced with flavors and textures. I did order a side of chili and added it to the burger (in bites) and I will say that this version with a little yellow mustard was my favorite bite. Reminds me of Tommy's back in Los Angeles. Simply amazing. Fries were also a nice accompaniment. Added chili to them also and they were great both ways. 100% would come back. This place is a yes!

When I was preg with my first born, nothing set well with me, unless I was at Charlies. No matter what I ate at Charlies, my soon to be born was content. For myself, the burgers were cooked to perfection. The fries the same. The atmosphere was expected to old school. It was a haunt that welcomed me and mine anytime I crossed their threshold. Perfect.

Beautiful patio view but limited choices on the menu if not vegan. The Drunken Garlic Shrimp was delicious and recommended by the server (who was awesome)!! Sadly there was only one server for all the guests during a busy lunch and finally the bartender came out (since the bar was completely empty) to help. The manager stood on the side watching the chaos doing nothing. The table next to us was ready to check out and asked the manager for assistance but she said they would have to wait for the server. We did the same but I told the manager I have somewhere to be and to assist us now please. Odd a manager can’t even assist with closing the checks. Otherwise cute patio and good food. Management- 1/10

Besides from their restaurant they have a beer garden patio which is very nice in summer. They have many beer options. Service is slow but the food is very good with affordable prices. Fish and chips are very good with coleslaw but the fries are very average.

Saw someone else write about the exact same experience I had today. This is the first review I’ve ever left. I was charged $9 for a high life. It was dead quiet in there, and I’m fairly confident that a few months ago when I went there was charged $5 prior to a Celtics game. Went down the road later in the day and paid $5 for a high life. Seems really suspicious.

Dave was the first person from Boston we spoke to when we landed and he was just great, cheap beer and great options, but just good chat and told us a bit about Boston and where to go that night. The bar was opposite the hotel and if you’re in the area I’d def reccomend dropping in for a beer while you get your bearings. Cheers Dave, take care

What a dump. Stay away at all costs. Smells like piss, run down bar, atrocious service. I've never been treating like a piece of garbage - but the ladies working the bar made sure to remind me what it must be like to hate your life and make other people miserable too. Can't stress enough how disgusted I am with the service here. Overpriced drinks - $10 to crack open a Mic ultra?! Are you serious!? Shameful. Ran out of there the second we finished our beer. I'm not picky - we were already having a great time all over Boston and simply needed to wait 30min for our show at TD to start, and this place literally ruined my night. STAY AWAY!

Al is hands down one of the best at Sullivans tap. She made sure to take everyone who was near us when it got busy. She kept moving through the long bar and even cut off a lady in a professional manner. Great bartender.

First off the door man is horrible. We couldn’t even get in. He asked how much we had to drink already and we told him two beers. Which is true because we just got off the train in. He replies with that’s what they all say. I’m like well it’s true we just got in from NH and staying at the hotel across the street. He replies with well I think you have had more than two and says that he can’t let us in. I hope this place forecloses because that’s ridiculous. Get cops not want to be bouncers.

I live about a 3 minute walk from this place. Lucky's is a fun place. They have a Comedy show and Trivia. I hadn't eaten there until a few weeks ago. The Calamari was good. I only eat Seafood and Poultry so I was surprised at the quality. Now..... Now... Ok, for, me, this place; I would frequent at least Weekly. It's a MAJOR bummer because of the smell there that comes from the Bathrooms. I had to hold my breath several times, the one time that I ate there. It was gross. I would never eat there again. I did go there again, didn't eat, just watched a show at The Bar, but, same smell. That being said, after I get off of work, sometimes I feel like going out, but, not driving or getting really dressed up, just wanting to go to a nice Neighborhood spot. Last Monday, I thought, OH! Lucky's.. then remembered the smell. I just didn't end up going. Lucky's.... Maybe contact Boston Water and Sewer? Complain to The Landlord, Building Management? You're loosing money because of that smell....

It was super busy today due to the AFP conference at the Menino Conference center. But the bartender handled it well. Pizza and drinks were ok. It’s a casual and dimly lit venue and can handle big crowds.

We went here for a night cap after visiting the holiday market in Seaport and ended up staying for 3 drinks! The vibe with the red lighting, the old photos, being partially underground, it was all very neat. Our bartender who called himself "Shamus", but came up as "John" on our receipt was a hoot. He definitely knew how to get a rise out of customers (or put them in their place with some snark if they had one too many). I told Shamus that I was picky about my dirty martinis and his was the best one I've ever had next to the one my husband makes me; he told me "put that on yelp, eh?!" but I'm putting it on here because I haven't read a yelp review since 2010. My husband had a classic old fashioned and it was absolutely perfect. We had their bar food special that night which was chicken tenders - they were delicious -- all white meat, moist and appeared to be either hand breaded or just really good quality -- the sauce was delicious, and you can't go wrong with $1 tendies! Everyone else was ordering their pizza which also looked excellent. I'd highly recommend stopping here for a fun, old school speakeasy vibe, good drinks, and some delicious bar food!

Once upon a time Lucky's was the place to be. I don't know if that is still the case as I am not trendy anymore. BUT I can tell you the empanadas are so da(m)n good! And Manny (Emanuel) pours a fantastic Margarita. 🫰🫰

Horrible bar that doesn’t care about the wellbeing and safety of its customers. They let people get harassed and punched and then thrown them out when they try to protect themselves. If you have at least some self respect don’t go to this bar.. Food is disgusting too and will give you the shits the next day.

We had some time to burn before we headed back to the hotel and came across this local bar. The atmosphere was awesome and the service was outstanding. Being from So Cal we enjoyed the air conditioning. My son loves his limes in his beer so he ordered his Coors light with a lime which the server called California style. We loved the ribbing they gave us for some of our order choices, we can't wait to visit this bar on our return trip.

Great bar on a wonderful street in Boston Overall a very good experience the staff worked hard and perhaps of their work load the service at least once was not warranting a higher mark. Go for: One of the few truly traditional Boston pub experiences remaining. Avoid if: You're an elitist in any way. Something surprising: This place opened in 1933. It was one of Harpoon Brewery's first accounts in 1987, and Harpoon brews a beer specifically for the Sevens based on their shared history. Reservation needed? Not sure they even take them. Overall Experience: 4/5. There are plenty of places with a longer beer list or more refined food, but they don't have the history and authenticity you'll find here. Worth the visit. We made a stop in here looking for somewhere to have a toast after my daughter's wedding. Lily and Carlos were so welcoming and set things up for us for the day of the wedding. The girls working that day took such amazing care of us. If you're ever in Boston be sure to visit this little, off the beaten path place! It's a great place to hang out, have a bite and a visit.

I have been to The Sevens several times, and it is always a solid experience. This is a true neighborhood bar in Beacon Hill with real local flavor. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, with classic rock playing in the background on most of my visits. It is a great place to watch a game without the noise and chaos of a bigger sports bar. I have caught the Red Sox, NFL games, and other sports here. The energy is just right. I have had both the French Dip sandwich and the BLT, and both were good. Nothing fancy, just satisfying, straightforward pub food. The beer list is decent for a small place, with a good mix of local and craft options. They serve beer and wine only. The bar staff has always been friendly and welcoming. Seating is limited, and it can get a little tight, but that is part of the charm. It is the kind of place where regulars and newcomers feel equally at home. The Sevens is dependable, casual, and worth a visit if you are in Beacon Hill looking for a laid-back place to relax, grab a drink, and enjoy some local character.

This was a fun and great place to stop in!! It would have gotten a full 5 for atmosphere, but some pesky fruit flies kept getting in my beer (and I don’t blame the bar for that). Service was phenomenal, and the dog of the day (chili cheese dog) was perfect!!!! Highly recommend and would definitely go back!!

This is definitely a second choice place when the place you really want to go to is too crowded. They don't serve burgers or cocktails, the food is mid and the beer is not cold. The owner or manager there is definitely a nice guy but that doesn't make up for the grub

Arrived without reservations at shortly after 6pm on a Saturday, and were promptly sat. Our server was nice, and checked in often but still gave us space to enjoy our evening. Good atmosphere. Food was overall good, we had the carnitas tacos as a app, carne asada frites, a chicken entree, tres leches and the caramel apple cheesecake special. We unfortunately waited nearly 20min for the tacos, having ordered them before the restaurant was even half full. The entrees came out just over 5min after the tacos feeling a bit rushed. Steak was cooked perfectly and so was the chicken, but chicken was lacking much needed salt. Deserts came out quick after we ordered and were amazing though. We got four different drinks. Presentation was great but only one was a real standout, with the other three being just alright. For $20 each, every drink should be astounding. Unfortunately three of them were lacking balance. Each needed more sugar, and more acid, leaving them to taste like slightly watered down booze.

Came twice here for drinks. This speakeasy is gorgeous, the dark atmosphere, the spacious seatings, and it looks like a cute apartment at the front door, disguising what lies down the stairs. Always will come again. By the way, the bartenders are amazing. The kitchen was closed the time I last gone, and I was craving a dessert. They ended up giving me a wine glass full of chocolate mouse and creme. Amazing service!

Made reservations online for 5 pm on a Tuesday, and it was just us and another smaller group. Food was AMAZING. We got the carnitas tacos and tres leches, and I could not have asked it to be made any better! Drinks were great as well. We aren't huge drinkers, so the waiter helped us pick something that we both loved! Music is amazing, staff is very friendly, and the decor makes the overall vibe of this place a 10/10.

First time visiting last Friday. Had a drink with a friend at a table. The atmosphere is really cool and I was excited that I might have found a fun new bar, but after waiting about 20 minutes for two cocktails I was a bit put off when the drinks were not very well made. The negroni I ordered was very off balance and pretty mediocre for a place that touts itself as a cocktail bar. I can forgive one drink being less than great, but not at the $25 price tag for each.

I love speak easy bars. This one's pretty cool. It was super busy when I went and there was only one bar tender who wasn't "training" or been there for more then a few weeks so service was slow but I will say the one bar tender that had been there a while was very sweet and knew what she was doing. Good was good nothing to write home about but def no complaints. Atmosphere is pretty cool I would go back

Great experience. We had the shrimp and lobster tostadas and then the salmon taquitos! You cannot go wrong with these lite bites.

Looking for an irish pub this will work. Stopping in for drinks and a quick bite... Was enjoyable, there was an issue with the staff however, the we had several wait staff just walk by us over never stop as ask, we had to wave someone down. Further, the waitress in our section was upset about something - maybe mad at the world?. Either way was enjoyable no matter how pissy the staff was.

Nice little place we ran into for a quick bite before a concert. Server was friendly. Service was decent. The food however....the mashed potatoes were delicious the sliders were ok. A little too big of a buns for the sliders though. And it would be nice that when it is as slow as it was....that they perhaps dont cook the chicken tenders, dress them in sauce and then let them sit in the window until the sliders are ready. Sliders were hot, tenders were ice cold with the sauce dry on it. Only recommendation would be to cook the food to be ready together...especially when its slow. There's no need to rush in that case.

Cornwalls is one of my favorite spots in Boston. It's got a cozy, welcoming vibe where you can meet all kinds of people. Great food and great service. Me and my coworkers would go there almost every week to play some pool, sometimes twice a week. And the lamb burger is worthy of an award

Been coming here for years any time I go to a Sox game. Amazing food and staff. Feels like a locals spot that is also open to any newcomers. Never forget the days in the dark crowded restaurant; this new spot is amazing. Amazing.

We came here after a B.U. graduation, and everything was thoroughly enjoyable. Food-wise, the fish & chips, grilled reuben, and turkey club were all tasty. Drink-wise, the espresso martinis were well received, and my favorite beer was the oatmeal brown. Service was friendly and helpful, both at the tables and at the bar.

Good British style restaurant. Staff is not super friendly, but wasn't a huge deal. French dip sandwich is excellent. Good beer selection.

We recently had a delightful experience at Cornwall's prior to the start of a Red Sox game. The pre-game atmosphere was fun, yet not as crazy, rowdy as restaurants that are adjacent to Fenway. Cornwall's is an easy walk to Fenway, but I could easily go there any time! The food was fantastic and the service was really quick and professional. It's a modern version of an English pub. Delicious selections of brews too!

We fell in love with Evan and Jenny. Our host and server. The food was so flavorful and well executed. We went for dinner then a show and came back for a night cap.

Second visit to this fine establishment brought both times by a local. Each of my visits have been memorable due to the fun quirky and lively crowd with delicious food and drink. The chef and the bartenders all deserve shoutouts. The whiskey sour was perfectly sharp and refreshing.

So, got a list of restaurant recommendations from the sommelier at the cocktail hour event I was at (next to where President Biden was having a meeting, Secret Service all in the water, and Air Force One across the port)…he emphasized this place in particular and it was fantastic! Small place, great decor, delicious food (pork cheek and jerk chicken tacos in home made shells with home made hot sauce)…husband and wife owned, friendly regulars, great bartender! And cash only…

Great Back Bay neighborhood spot. It's popular and will likely be busy for dinner. The food & service are both excellent! The interior is fun with album covers & holiday lights. Definitely recommend if in the area.

CASH ONLY. Not nearly enough signage about this. Food is decent if small portions. Affordable prices. Small portions. Very crowded and small space. Bar prices not listed at the bar. Lamb tacos taste like good beef. Oven fries are fine, could be a few more. Burger is surprisingly big. Grilled cheese is also surprisingly big for the price and good tasting.

Erica had the nerve to yell in MULTIPLE people's faces tonight about how we were "crowding" a busy bar. She got in our faces multiple times and told us to stand near the bathrooms. When we were told that we were allowed to stand at the BAR (which we 100% were allowed to stand at considering we were paying customers) she yelled in our faces again. She ruined the experience for all of us to the point where we decided to leave drinks behind just to get out of there. She yelled at us AGAIN on the way out. Very rude, we know this is a tiny establishment and we tried our best to stay out of the way, she could've kindly told us to move back but instead she was very aggressive every time. Such a shame because it seemed like such a good place, but Erica ruined the vibe big time (and we've been here multiple times). Never coming back again.

I wish there were 6 stars. Everyone here is your friend - leave your problems outside - or bring them in and anyone here will listen. Whether you're in a Brooks Brothers 3-piece cut high and tight or rocking Vans with dreds you have a home here. It's a comfy bar with attentive service, good food, and it's a downtown location (5 minute walk from South Station, on the edge of Chinatown) that will not break the bank. Students, financiers (not the cake), and locals mesh well. If you visit once, you'll want to visit again.

Always had good luck coming here for drinks and food, but visited today and for some reason, I was passed by for 15 minutes. The place was not busy. Finally, i got up from my seat flagged down the bartender/waiter got their attention. I ordered drink but was completely forgotten about. Wasn't asked if i wanted another drink. I wasnt going to chase waitstaff for the 2nd time. Wont be back.

Best pub in Boston! The whole staff is exceptional! Great vibes and amazing food. One of my favorite places in the city

Update 8.17.22 I've come back to the Corner Pub quite often now. Mostly to see my new friend Fran the pink flamingo. Their food is delicious and service great. Their steak sandwich and grilled cheese are amazing and try all their eggrolls. Pam and Matt the owners have been so kind to me and my family during this difficult time. They also generously provided lunch and dinner to the nurses and doctors taking care of my husband at Tufts CSICU. Stop by and check it out, especially if you are coming into the city by commuter rail. You are steps away from South Station.. and "there's always another train" I'm staying in Boston while my husband is in the hospital. I wandered in one evening because the sign on the door caught my attention. The rest of the signs decorations make me smile. The bartender/server was so good on a Monday night, Mike I believe his name was, I thought he owned the place. Food was great and service too. I've been back two more times and met the owner Pam. She is very kind and caring. Definitely stop in here when coming and going from south Station. . Close to Chinatown and Tufts Medical Center .

Neighborhood pub. Great vibe. We loved the reviews here on Google and had to go. Absolutely amazing. Great beer selection, eclectic menu with huge portions. Pam even explained the $3 brown bag shot but we refrained. Highly recommend the totchos and the beef/cheese eggroll. We played Connect Four and I won. Best wishes! We'll be back.

Paddy's Lunch is a quintessential dive bar! Opening the year after prohibition, it's coming up on its 90th birthday. The place is small as are it's prices. However, the history and locals I met there were larger-than-life! If you have a few minutes and a few dollars it's well worth the visit.

No food service here but it's a local dive bar. I think most will understand what expectations 1 should have here. Staff is friendly.

Cheap drinks and good food! What more could you ask for? This is located in an interesting spot but it certainly a great place to grab a drink and meet some local Cantabrigians. The bars atmosphere is very lowkey and inviting so expect to meet some new people! This is a great place to go watch a sports game and drink with friends. Also, the drinks are extremely cheap which is very nice. Note: the bar is cash only but they do have an ATM if you forget to bring cash.

Most Excellent little neighborhood bar. Warm, friendly, legit! We stumbled upon this little gem on a walk about- It's small and basic but we were warmly welcomed. unpretentious, clean, and you cld feel the strong Irish family heritage in every nook.

Great dive bar in the middle of a residential neighborhood between Porter and alewife. Despite the name, they do not serve food. The beer however is cheap, the owner is nice, it's dog friendly, and they support numerous community events and local recreation leagues.

I went to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. It was my first time there, but defiantly won’t be my last. The place was packed. I was the only African American woman there, no one knew me, but I felt like I had just walked in to Cheers you know the place we’re everybody knows you name 😁. Everyone was super friendly and I really had a blast. Can’t wait to go back and chat it up with Ruth the owner.

Lovely dark bar with a good vibe and better food. $4.75 Narragansett, several brekkie taco options for all diets. All delicious. Super cool spot. Can't wait to come back!

Easily the most aesthetically appealing bar I’ve ever been in. A great restaurant disguised as a vintage dive bar, but not in a pretentious way. Interesting drink options on the menu.

This place is exactly what you want out of a dive. Good vibe, warm atmosphere, no frills, and surprisingly good food. Food punches well above its weight for a place like this. Beer list is pleasant, with several options (national, local, and import). Duck nachos are awesome because each chip is loaded so your bite is perfect. The kale Cesar is surprisingly good (I’m not a salad guy). Wings looked better than they tasted and were admittedly average (think they could have used a few more min in the fryer), as was the sandwich, but overall I was pleased with everything we got.

My new favorite restaurant spot in Cambridge. I went three times in the week I was working at MIT. All the dishes are good. Their katsu sandwich is probably the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. The oysters are fresh. The fried chicken has so much flavor (if you get Nashville hot you'll enjoy it too but through tears of pain) As great as the food is, I'll praise the service more. Jess especially is an amazing server. She has that magnetic aura that makes a person feel like they're already friends. What a cool person. Almost forgot to add, their fries are amazing... dangerously amazing. For my own health I have to stop getting them, I end up eating all of it and wanting more.

Fun sort of divey atmosphere. Lots of vintage bar signs. Good drinks and apps. Tge fries were a bit too salty but the duck nachos were delish!

I NEVER leave reviews but this experience was bad enough that I feel like I need to write a review. 3 friends and I sat for a few apps and drinks at 6:30. At the end of the night we got our bill and the waitress comes over to confront us. She comes over to ask if the service was okay because we only left an 18% tip. Very confused we were like um yes. Then goes on this long explanation about how there’s not longer an automatic 20% tip and if we actually meant to leave that tip. We say yes because we literally ordered the bare minimum and got literally fine service. It’s not like they went above and beyond. 15-20% is standard. After we confirm that we meant to leave an 18% tip another server comes by and says they need the table because there’s a huge wait. As we’re leaving we notice there‘s no one at the bar. Like quite literally empty and no wait. It was SO uncomfortable. As we’re waiting outside the server is literally pointing at us and speaking to her coworker. I am beyond confused at how rude their staff was. We were polite and just talking amongst ourselves during our time there.

I wish I could rate this place a ZERO!! the place is small with poor service. Staff was very rude and short and had no reason as to why. The bartenders especially, very creepy and made uncomfortable comments to towards me. Kept asking about my personal relationship situation and making inappropriate comments about my looks. I would not recommend this place to anyone as there are many better places in the area. .

Amazing local music venue! Always great band upstairs and the cantab underground is a beautifully intimate venue. This bar supports local artists, come on Mondays for the open mic or to join the jazz jam!

The bartenders think they can just bully anyone. I think they just like certain kind of people and certain genders. Its not a nice atmosphere overall. They do have good bands playing but everyone is not welcome, thats all I can say.

Great music, but the bouncer and management suuuuuck. We were charged full price for a band who was advertised on their website to play til 11pm. Well, the music only went til 10pm and we only got to listen to one song. Tried to stay longer than the 5 min we were there, but we were told to leave or buy another ticket for the next band. Such a ripoff!! Why’d you let us buy the first tickets if you knew the band playing was almost finished??

It's an old pub still going despite some of the newer things ( pop ups) othere events and restaurants more trendy to this Cambridge culture. It's the only Niche patrons are people of color. If you like live bands, old blues, jazz music 🎶, then this place is for you. Lastly, it's affordable

Loved coming here when I lived in Cambridge before the pandemic but it’s seemed to take a massive turn downhill since then. Still love the dive bar atmosphere, the bartender was nice enough and the music was… okay 🤷🏽‍♀️ honestly just felt like something had changed, the staff seemed sorta lifeless and the bouncers seemed uptight. Just felt like everyone here hated there job, especially the manager, she just seemed like she had a stick up her “you know what”. She came out to the bartender complaining about some other employee, then complaining about how long her commute was, then complaining about the band playing later that night, literally every statement more miserable than the last. Really turned me off so I finished my beer and walked down to Phoenix Landing. Word of advice, get a new job and stop bringing down the vibe if you hate it so much some of us used to really love it!!

Kylie sucks, UNPROFESSIONAL and rude. Never encountered such poor management in my life, simply wanted my drink remade and was berated for asking. I know the drinks are “the cheapest around” (as said by one bartender) but that doesn’t mean that the service should be cheap too.

Neighborhood staple. One of two restaurants in Boston I found where I can get bar pizza! Has great $5 south shore bar pizza + $2 for toppings (indoor only)!! $10 bar pizza for take out. I love the crispy edges. Cash only.

Got yelled at by the manager before I even stepped in the door. he was very aggressive and swearing us. came with the band to help set up, was screamed at and insulted. the whole environment was unprofessional, and we will not be coming back.

The people who work here are awful. My 3 FEMALE friends got kicked out for bringing in an outside drink; instead of just telling them to throw out the drink or be asked to leave, the bartender/bouncer (balding, old) was extremely rude to them and told them to get out. After he pushed them outside, he was laughing about it with the other bouncers and making rude and sexist jokes. If you are a woman, DO NOT COME HERE!!

Overpriced $8 for a vodka Smirnoff shot. 😬 Bartender was okay. I asked for a lemon drop and I was expecting a shot and got a drink with triple sec instead. My husband’s IPA was warm and he wasn’t a fan. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Chill place , nothing crazy. Music was a lot of 90s rap that I didn’t mind. I think we decided to spend less than $20 and left. We would have spent more, but we weren’t feeling the vibe and I didn’t think the bartender was trying. He WASN’T mean at all like other comments say OR RACIST (like some suggest in the comment- I’m a Latina with a Caucasian spouse) but he wasn’t personable either. I think that’s just his personality.

I had an extremely unpleasant experience at this bar. My friend was violently beaten by the staff for simply standing near the entrance. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable and goes against all standards of professional conduct. It is not only illegal but also dangerous. I have never witnessed anything as disturbing as what I saw at this bar. My friend was brutally beaten by the staff for no apparent reason, and it was a shocking and traumatizing experience. The staff should be held accountable for their actions, and the management should take immediate steps to ensure that such incidents never happen again. I strongly advise against visiting this bar until they can demonstrate that they have made significant changes to their staff training and management practices.

Cash only and a bar tender who seems to want the place to become a dive bar the way he talks to everyone. The main redeeming aspects were that the drinks were relatively cheap and -besides the one staff member - the bar had a good atmosphere

We go to Lincoln all the time for a beer and some food. Their bar pizzas are absolutely awesome — super crispy, perfectly topped, and always delicious. I also love that they have some unique beers on tap that you don’t find everywhere. Great spot if you’re in the mood to try something new. Their burgers are also seriously good — juicy, well-seasoned, and made with fresh ingredients. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they do. Funny story — one time we just stopped by for a quick pizza and didn’t order any drinks. The servers seemed a little surprised, but we were just craving pizza and it was as amazing as always. Overall, the vibe at Lincoln is always relaxed, the staff is friendly, and the food never disappoints. Definitely one of our go-to spots.

The hamburger, even though they only offer the classic one on the menu, is delicious. The wood-fired pizzas are really good too. Good service, great atmosphere! This time we went for dinner, but for brunch it's a great place, especially for the Thick Slice French Toast.

THE brunch spot in the heart of boston! Definitely would make a reservation on the weekend for brunch, cause it does get crowded! The fact there’s TV’s everywhere to watch the football games on Sunday! I already wanna go back ! The menu was so overwhelming with so many things that I want to try that I already know I’ll be back! The sandwich was great! I’d get it again! The only thing is I’m more of a pancake person, as my husband wanted French toast! Usually the fruity pebbles are over pancakes! It was still good but French toast is just too much bread for me! The donuts were absolutely amazing I could have ate that whole plate myself! There was like an apple pie jam ! My godddd !! Totally recommend stopping by ! I’ll be back to try more! Btw. I didn’t have the short rib poutine (not my style) ! But my husband did devour it so .. I am notamally a frequent Lincoln customer as i love the food & it’s a super convenient spot for where I live. So I am very disappointed to say that I had an alarming experience enough to write a review. I ordered the cheeseburger sliders and was served not 1, not 2, but 4 burgers that were completely raw in the center. Not just rare, RAW. Raw beef. I only realized it after biting in. I immediately called the restaurant and was refunded for the burger. That part I appreciated. But considering the seriousness of being served raw ground beef (major food safety issue) I was shocked that only the burger was refunded. My appetite was gone, my meal ruined, and honestly, I was unsettled. I messaged them on Instagram and got a very generic response saying they’d refunded just the burger. I then followed up via email to share how disappointing the experience was, but never received any reply. Accidents can happen, but the way a restaurant handles them says a lot.

12/10 restaurant!! Their brunch menu is to die for, would highly recommend everything, but their French toast and Cali burrito are delish. I have also been for dinner, great food as well but I think their brunch is the highlight of this place. Very reasonably priced as well. We split 3 apps & each got meals and a drink, after tip it was only $65 per person

Great way to start the day, absolutely loved the vibes and the service was wonderful. Our server, Gabby, was on top of everything. Price was reasonable and food was a hit, we all shared a bit of our plate with each other. Hope to return soon!

I had the short ribs with truffle mac & cheese out this world, so creamy and delicious I had to write this review, not only that I wanted something for my son that was not on the menu and they went above and beyond to make it for him! I been looking for a restaurant on west broadway st that the taste matches the price and Lincoln by far is the winner, loved so much I done told all my friends and family about it, will be definitely ordering from them again and for now one take all my money 😂

The place is really nice however the drinks and food doesn’t match. The menu is very hard to understand and honestly the only things we liked were the potstickers and the Dino dog. The food didn’t have much seasoning or flavor. Very bland. The drinks were horrible. I paid $70 for 4 drinks and they were not good at all at the bar. The waitress was very friendly and tried to explain everything. I exchanged my food and by the time my order was ready we had paid the bill already. Took way too long and was horrible when I got home.

Very eclectic take on a Japanese restaurant. There is a mix of traditional Japanese to unique adaptations of Japanese cuisine on the menu with something for everyone. Like someone in our group mentioned, where else can you get quality sushi, noodles, hotdogs, hamburgers, and tacos under one roof. All the food we tried was excellent for taste, quality, and freshness. Service was well executed and staff is friendly. I highly recommend Hojoko for anyone looking for a fun atmosphere with great food and service. For added fun, order the Wasabi Roulette for your group (with horchata antidote).

The 3 of us ordered a few different dishes and shared in a tapas style. The sushi was so fresh and the kimchi fried rice was a hit with everyone. The restaurant has a cool chill atmosphere and the service was attentive. Possibly the best restaurant I’ve tried in the 3 weeks I spent in Boston.

Hojoko is a Japanese brunch and bar place located right outside of Fenway. The atmosphere is pretty nice, stylized similar to an Izakaya. The staff is also quite friendly, and were even nice enough to offer free drinks because one of our dishes was delayed and came out pretty late. The food itself was decent. The spam musubi was a bit expensive, and the yuzu was a bit overwhelming on the spam musubi, but did taste good. The shrimp toast wasn't similar to what we were used to, but it did have a good taste to it. The souffle pancakes fell a bit flat, as it didn't really have the "souffle" texture to it and there really wasn't much flavor to it. Overall, it was kind of expensive for the portion price, but can be a good brunch spot to visit in the area.

Came here before a concert. Interesting restaurant/bar. Very dark inside. Looks like we were in a basement. Nice outdoor seating. Restaurant attached to a hotel. Food was fusion. It was OK. Had the Korean Wings, it was OK. Sauce was thick. The shrimp toast was legit on a bread not a baguette. We got the pan fried dumplings with what I think is Hot Pot sauce. Also pretty pricey but again it was in Boston.

An incredibly detailed review of an evening that was very very good with a few ups and a few downs and a few exceptional moments and a few misses. 1. Let’s talk the vibe. The vibe was stellar! Such fun. We had no idea this was in a hotel. Or hotel-adjacent, as it were. We have lived here for many years, had our kids here, grad School here etc. and are frequent visitors to Isabella Gardner. Afterwards we decided to grab a bite and found good reviews of this place online. We wanted something eclectic, and this did not disappoint. With incredible drink names like “a pack of Newports” this place managed to both be sexy and down to earth. If that’s possible. The vibe is 5.0. 2. Let’s move on to the drink menu. My Mai Tai was good. But, it’s disappointing that they are charging five dollars for a topo Chico, that’s pretty much a one dollar drink, if that…they were just giving them away for free at the head of the Charles. I think Topochico is trying to become a thing, but hopefully they don’t price themselves as a thing, because it’s just a seltzer, so a little disappointing there. Really, we just wanted some seltzer from the bar, but they did not have any. So that was a disappointment. I would rate the drinks out of 3.5, because… Who does not have just seltzer from the gun at the bar? 3. The food was mixed. I loved my Hamachi sashimi. The charred cauliflower was good. The shrimp toast was good, but it was a little greasy, so please dial back a bit on that. The spicy miso Ramen that I ordered ‘to go’ was good. The wasabi roulette was tons of fun! Truly the highlight! When I lived in San Francisco, there was a chef that always used to “dose” one of the pieces if you ordered 12 with a lot of wasabi. This was similar, but it was so much more fun with the Horchata baby bottle. I love this idea and you should not get rid of it. This was truly a highlight, and tons of fun. Chicken tails were great. If all we had were that, I would give the food 5.0. Although, the shrimp toast was a little greasy. But my husband ordered the burger, and they said that it was one of the best in Boston, and it was… OK. Nothing to write Home about. So I’m going to give the Food 4.5, because everything else was super creative, but the burger was just sort of…meh. 4. Service was spectacular. A 5.0. They were super sweet about dealing with us and all of my questions and although one of the drinks came a little bit late, our server was upbeat and interesting. I would love to go again and play the wasabi roulette with friends. Did I have it all on my own? yes… Yes I did. And I would do it again. But it would be more fun with friends. Again, please keep that concept. Maybe make the shrimp toast a little bit less greasy, and definitely investigate while you’re charging five dollars for topo Chico. I can get them in Mexico for a quarter. I know it’s not Mexico, and I don’t know why topo Chico has suddenly become a ‘thing’, but five dollars is not really how that should be priced. Better yet, consider getting a gun with soda water in it, because that’s all we really wanted. We will be back, at a minimum for the wasabi roulette! Let’s get some soda water on tap before then.

we loved this place it was such an interesting vibe! everything on the menu is relatively small portions and are made to share. the wagyu cheeseburger was soo delicious, wish we ordered another one! everything came out very fast, as soon as it ready

A Harvard square classic - the nachos and burritos are delicious. To be honest, I think the quality has gone down through the years, nachos used to have a lot more cheese and you’re charged way too highly for extras like veggies or guac. Rooftop is awesome

We stopped here for dinner and tried three chicken dishes a chimichanga, a burrito, and a bowl. The bowl was just okay, not very impressive, but the burrito and chimichanga were much better. The place has a rooftop, which is nice, but it was really noisy when we visited. Decent food, but not the best spot if you’re looking for a quiet dinner.

Been coming here for years and it never disappoints. Your better than average fast food option for burritos, tacos, and more! Food is fresh and they have many options. I personally love their steak quesadillas but my friends usually get their burrito. It’s always packed in here as it’s situated in the heart of Harvard Sq. Sometimes you have to walk around and wait for a table. You’ll find this is a popular spot amongst college students—especially late at night. There are two lines to order, one at each side of the counter and lines move pretty quick. Plus there is a bar on the first floor and a rooftop bar as well. Seating spans on both the 1st and 2nd floor. If you visit Cambridge you gotta try this place.

We came here during the busiest time of their service. Heard the rooftop bar was a must-do and would have been had half of it not been closed down for an event. Not their fault, just bad timing. This is one of those places where if you applied they are quite legitimate in asking if you thrive in a fast-paced environment, lol. Thought, maybe we escaped the college crowd, but I think they started flowing in to town for a while, so it was tight. Their food was decent, but ordering was super hectic, again just bad timing. Try it once, just make sure to find out about peak hours. I imagine dinner time like 6pm +/- 1.5 hours will be packed. Managed to order a drink from the roof bar, a paloma, which was not so great; not sure what they used for the grapefruit flavor, but it def tasted much strongly of tequila, which of course is what you want. Try it, but be warned.

I’ve eaten here weekly basically since they opened in their old location in Harvard sq (more than 20 years at this point) because the flavors esp for the veggie burrito are INCREDIBLE and I crave Filipe's when i am away. However, since the move to the larger location (7-10 years ago??), service has been problematic with the people making burritos sometimes seemingly really annoyed to be making your burrito even when you are well prepared with what you want and have clear concise answers to questions in the ordering process. God help you if you have any uncertainty or questions about the menu!!! But recently the portions have become MUCH smaller. A super burrito used up be an easy full dinner for me. Now I need a side up make a meal complete which is annoying. I get prices are going up on food/inputs, but Felipe's own prices have also risen and I’d still prefer to pay a bit more and get the same size burrito I’m used to than this skinny thing have been getting (see photo). If it happens once more I won’t be coming back. That’s a serious blow for someone who has probably spent 700-800 dollars a year (maybe mire) for 20 years! Not to mention the number of events I have used them for catering. But I am sick of picking up dinner for my family and getting home and finding I have to make some side dishes to have it be enough.

Great value. The thing that differentiates this burrito place is that they don't nickle and dime you for extras. Want guac or sour cream or plantains? All included. Generous meat servings, too. Good quality. Open until 4 and always hopping. You'll never leave hungry!

The Burren is a Local Landmark in Davis Square - it is a Classic old school Traditional Pub, with undeniable charm and a distinctively Irish atmosphere. Pictures adorn the walls, and their Bar , and Bartenders Greet you as soon as you step foot inside. The food is surprisingly tasty also, with both UK favorites and some surprising choices in the Menu that cater to the Davis Square Crowd...... They pour an absolutely Perfect Pint of Guinness at the Burren, which you can enjoy either at Lunch, or later in the day when the Local Musicians stop in to play music in the front snug by the window. If you haven't been in a while, do stop in- it will be like coming home to an old friend's home !

Great bar in the heart of David square with two music areas, one being a dedicated back room. The food was solid, won’t blow your mind but is satisfying and the prices are fair. Service was attentive. Outdoor seating is nice if the weather cooperates and importantly is on the sidewalk- not the street. Different bands are playing here nightly. I’ll be back! Thank you!

They have the best live music events, and just are a great restaurant all around ! The employees are so chill, and the food options are plentiful! Goes above and beyond bar food. We had the burren platter, as well as brunch another day. Delicious drinks in addition to beer!

A favorite hub of mine and my partner’s, great place for some comforting Irish fare ☘️ and a pint of Guinness 🍺 They had some live music 🎸🎶 going on, but my partner and I were still able to hear each other without any issue. The fish 🐟 and chips 🍟 were great, hit the right spot, and their curry dipping sauce was brilliant! It should definitely be added to the staple dish alongside tartar sauce. As usual, can’t wait to be back here.

Our first stop in Boston! It's dark, lots of posters & old. The food was great, we all enjoyed it. I had the Sheppards pie & was so full afterward. There was a great selection of drinks, with their own specialties.

Really enjoyed St. Patrick's Day at the Burren. It's about the closest thing to an actual Irish pub here in the US. Great love music, an excellent pint of Guinness, and the best craic around! The food wasn't great, but we don't come for the food . . .

Tres Gatos is more than just a restaurant; it's a whole experience! This cozy, colorful spot is incredibly intimate and specializes in delicious Spanish tapas meant for sharing. We savored every bite, especially the Mussels in their wonderful chorizo-infused sauce. The Mushroom Paella was a delight in both flavor and texture, and the Peri Peri Chicken, with its fantastic dry rub, offered a true Iberian taste. The real unique charm? The tiny book and music shop tucked away in the back! My advice: book a table in advance (it's always bustling – a good sign!) and make time to explore the shop. It's a romantic, small gem that creates a truly memorable evening.

Great food and kind staff in a cozy setup. The record store in the back with books and cassettes was perfect for the short wait before we got seated. Food was super flavorful and every dish hit the spot. The asparagus and mussels were our favorite. The paella took a while but was well worth the wait. Side note: not sure if there are cats on premise, but my sister claims she felt a little tingle of her cat allergy. 10/10 for a calm chat and chow!

We tried this tapas restaurant recently, and while some dishes were enjoyable, the overall experience left me mixed. On the positive side, the prawns were excellent, definitely a highlight, and the mussels were also very good. Unfortunately, the steak was drowned in an overly sweet sauce, which masked its flavor, and the red sangria leaned far too sweet as well. What really disappointed me, though, was the lack of some essentials. They were out of tortilla, the cheesecake was already gone, and most surprising of all no patatas bravas. For a tapas place, being out of patatas bravas felt almost unforgivable. Prices were also on the high side: we ended up paying around $90 per person, which felt steep given the uneven food quality and missing staples. Maybe I just came on an unlucky night, but it’s hard to understand how such a well-known tapas dish could be unavailable. In short: good seafood options, but the sweetness of some dishes, lack of key tapas, and high prices made it a tough one to fully recommend.

This restaurant came highly recommended from a friend. We had a reservation, staff were friendly and we were seated immediately. The pictures seemed to show more of a fancy, cozy atmosphere, but with high top tables and an open kitchen it wasn't quite what I hoped for in that regard. They do have an attached book shop and record shop which was cute. Mixed Olives: What you would expect, inexpensive small portion of green olives. Very flavorful Tortillas Espanola: The Potato/egg portion was light and I enjoyed it, the aioli was pretty standard and took away from the dish personally. House made Ricotta: My personal favorite, Ricotta with Apples and bread. The ricotta was nice and fluffy, it had nuts and herbs. The apples were a well cooked nice addition. I'd give this dish 5 stars Lamb Bocadillo: Basically a mini hamburger, it was fine but didn't stand out to me. Paella Mixta: Pork and Chicken Paella, pretty standard. The chicken and pork were well cooked and seasoned. All in all, it is priced like a fancy restaurant but the food didn't live up to those expectations for me. I'd probably have been just as happy with a wrap from Cava as I was with the Paella, at half the cost. The ricotta was the only dish we tried unique and enjoyable enough to warrant a return visit.

We were here for a private buyout to celebrate a wedding, though we had memorably been here three years ago during normal business with these newlyweds (would be more if we lived in this part of the country!). Charming converted house--tapas bar in front, combo record/book store in the back (the record selection was off-the-charts in many genres and I'm told frequently restocked). For the party all guests socialized freely throughout the bar, record store, and two garden patio spaces. Each guest was encouraged to pick out a record or book as a party favor. The tapas, which was progressively prepared fresh and rolled out in inspired combinations throughout the evening, was maybe the best wedding food we've ever had. We could feel that Tres Gatos is a labor of love, from chef and cooks to hostess to servers to bartender to the folks in records/books. Which was perfect, since we were there to celebrate love.

Great restaurant, immaculate vibes, and delicious food. However the space is so cramped and the tables are so small. They serve tapas, sharable plates, but on tables big enough to fit only one additional dish. I also sat in a regular chair while a man behind me was in a tall chair and he kept elbowing my head that I had to move. The dishes were delicious but at the same time way too expensive for the portion and food. Just because they're sharable doesn't mean they should serve one dish for the price of two. Staff was super kind, and even celebrated my partners and I's anniversary. It's seems they have the food, atmosphere, and staff all right. Like the best food, atmosphere, and staff in all of Boston. but the actual space is so poorly arranged that it ruined a good chunk of my experience.

We went to Tres Gatos for dinner and we sat on the front patio. Luckily, we were able to get the larger table with comfortable chairs. I would have hated to sit at one of the smaller tables with those very uncomfortable chairs. The service was friendly and the food was satisfactory, but there's more to a dining experience than just those aspects. Trust in the recommendations given by your server and value for money are very important. There are a few things that really influence this review. Firstly, the pricing is way too high for what you are getting. I've eaten in Michelin-starred restaurants for less. The busboy asked if we wanted some bread, suggesting it would be good for soaking up the nice flavors from the mussels. Next thing we know, we're charged $8 for two slices of bread—that's outrageous. Having been to Spain three times, I can say that this cuisine is far from authentic and virtually carries no similarities beyond the names on the menu. Here's the kicker: I didn't understand what the 5% charge on my bill was for until after I tipped. When I opened the menu again, I saw they were charging 5% to give their kitchen staff a salary increase. Is this not the most insane thing you have ever heard of? Why am I paying for the kitchen staff's salary increase? You're the owner, you're already charging exorbitant prices—pay your employees properly and don't place this scam on your clients. That is absolutely absurd. Needless to say, I won't be dining here again in any hurry. It's definitely not worth it and very disappointing.

A hole in the wall. Been living in whole life in Boston and my first time here. My friends brought me here as this was the place they had their first date back in the 90's. Food was amazing. I would love to go again.

As a person who has worked in food service, I hesitate to ever write a mean review. However, I have never interacted with a more rude or disrespectful staff in my entire life so I felt I should warn people to avoid this place.

Came here after reading all the great reviews. Service was good, but the food was not worth the detour. We both had the chicken parm; it was fine, just not great. Given that, the prices were a bit too high.

After 15 hours on a train and getting in late to our hotel, we were looking for a place to get some food and drink, when we came across Anchovies. What a cool place when we walked in it was busy but the server and bartender booted us right away and got a seated. They were extremely helpful and explained some items to us and we had a fantastic dinner! The drinks were absolutely phenomenal, and they were stiff!!! No small half pours here! Wow!!!! We are definitely glad we found this place and we will probably eat here again on this trip. I can’t say enough about the environment and the food and the drinks and our server Peter was as good as they come! Would definitely recommend!!!!

Wish I could give this place 0 stars. I've never been so shocked and caught off guard by an employee. The woman bartender both yelled in my face and snatched the menu out of my hands after I finished ordering a beer. My friend and I stood there completely startled. After looking at reviews, it looks like many other customers have experienced negative interactions with her. I don't understand why the bar has not addressed this issue. Additionally, my friends and I (22-24f) were stared at the whole night by middle aged men. Horrible vibes here and I would not recommend it to anyone, especially young women. Stay away.

I’ve been going here for 20 years. Completely get the nostalgia and home-y neighborhood atmosphere. I do not get why the same bartender always takes at least 20 minutes to take my order for a drink and offer a menu. Ignores me and takes else’s order. No eye contact, no acknowledgment.

Anchovies is just amazing. Do you wanna good drinks? You have it. Great food? You get it. Anchovies is the place you can call home. I really love it.

I recently had a meal at Brassica, and overall, it was a great experience. The risotto was creamy and flavorful, and the pizza had a wonderfully thin crust, very much like a classic New York-style pizza. The rigatoni pasta was tasty, though not particularly standout, but still a solid choice. The fried rice was packed with flavor and really hit the spot. The BK fried chicken (we ordered the larger portion) was incredibly tender and had just the right amount of sweetness served with a small portion of homemade mustard sauce on the side and lemon wedges, it was definitely a winner. However, the real star of the show was the Brussels sprouts. They were absolutely fantastic, crispy, perfectly seasoned, and bursting with flavor. Definitely the dish that left the biggest impression, and I’ll be coming back just for those!

Brassica has one of the best brunches in town. The cocktails are wonderful and the food is top-notch. I love their commitment to changing up the flavors just enough to keep you wanting more, but also keeping their tried and true gems on the menu (shout out to the chicken and waffles)! And, I always look forward to taking home one of their homeade doughnuts for later. They never miss!

We went for brunch and overall had a good time. We got the pretzel biscuit, brown butter pancakes, omelette, and breakfast fried rice. Everything looked great and the food did taste good, but towards the end of our meal we did start to feel it was a bit greasy and heavy. The vegetarian options were extensive, which I really appreciated. I would come back if I wanted to take some friends, but I think it’s slightly out of my budget to become a regular option.

The service was excellent. Staff was friendly, attentive and informative. I ordered the fried rice from their brunch menu and my sister ordered the melted butter pancakes. She loved the pancakes. While I enjoyed their unique touch to the fried rice and perfectly runny egg, I didn't love how much oil it was all swimming in. We also waited 45 min for our food. Edit: I made I a typo and wrote "informal" but really I meant "informative"🤦‍♀️ Learning that they just expanded and were adjusting to the new space is great context for helping me understand the delay!

I'm sorry to write that our experience was mediocre and disappointing. We went there with another couple of friends for dinner on a Friday evening in mid August. The place was full of people, apparently having a good time. The staff was busy and diligent, kind and friendly. The location is not so nice and the exteriors are somewhat rough, between a central bus station on a busy street with traffic and honking cars, and a parking lot of a funeral home, with big trash dumpsters. We sat in the back yard tent, four people around a small table with small plates. We liked the concept of sharing various plates and dishes, but the portions were small and the food was very salty and greasy (gave me heartburn). The black cod was unpleasantly smelly (fishy), and the green salad was very bitter and salty. The only way to fill my tummy was to order some bread, which was served with way too much butter, really wasteful. I saw a picture of fries in a review online and asked the waitress why it wasn't on the menu, she smiled and said it's a secret...  she also suggested the special of the day, but did not tell us the price, and that was not on the menu either. As a matter of principle and practicality, all items should be on the menu, and customers should know the prices before placing orders. The prices are pretty high and they charge around 23% fee to cover gratuity for the waiters, kitchen and bar staff. We respect and support all those good people, but do not like to be charged such high fees. Either raise the prices and show them clearly on the menu, or take whatever tips people leave and split the money between all the employees. Customers should have the freedom to decide how much they want to tip, considering the quality of food and service they received. We enjoyed spending a couple hours with our friends, but did not enjoy the food or sitting on the asphalt in the undecorated tent, with loud background noise. For us, it was not worth $40 per person (with no meat or seafood, with no dessert or coffee); there are much nicer places at that price level.

Awesome experience trying The Ride (their epic tasting menu) at their new larger location! Delicious, fun food, lovely staff, and great vibe. Incredible deal for how much food you get — I took home most of a pizza (never seen a whole pizza in a multi-course tasting menu!) and entire second dessert. Eating the leftovers the next day was wonderful, too! Highly recommend.

Saw Brassica recommended in the Boston Globe--among other restaurants--for a visit from the Michelin people. A foodie cousin was all in for a visit. We both took the T, she a couple of stops in JP, me, a bit more of a trek from East Boston. So getting there without a car is easy-peasy. We had reservations although probably not required on a Wednesday at 5:30. Charming. Casual. A bit noisy. Our server was prompt with drinks and explained the recommended approach: plates are small, so share. Foodie cousin and I opted for 3 plates: sole, flatbread margarita, salad. Weren't sure how much food it would be and it was plenty. Server started us on the fish and brought pizza and salad together. Perfect! Not cheap but excellent value. A wonderful time was had all round. We'll be back.

Dining at Mariel in Boston was an exceptional experience from start to finish, and I’m happy to give it a well-deserved 5-star rating. It’s rare to find a restaurant that shows such flexibility and creativity for vegetarian guests, especially in a high-end setting like this. The wine selection was also excellent. Our server recommended a beautiful bottle that paired wonderfully with the flavors of the meal — rich yet balanced, and clearly chosen with care. Beyond the food and service, the atmosphere at Mariel is stunning. The interior is both stylish and inviting, with warm lighting, elegant design details, and a lively yet intimate vibe. Whether you’re there for a special occasion or just a night out, it feels like a celebration. Overall, Mariel exceeded expectations in every way. Great service, fantastic customized vegetarian options, excellent wine, and an unforgettable ambiance — I’ll absolutely be returning the next time I’m in Boston.

The food at Mariel is absolutely amazing. It’s not the same as in Cuba, but it’s definitely on another level ….the flavors are rich and delicious. The cocktails are beautifully crafted by the bartenders Servando and Javier, who take the time to explain each drink and dish. I sat at the bar, and it was the best decision I could’ve made. I really wanted to love Mariel — the atmosphere and décor are beautiful, but the service completely ruined what was supposed to be a special night. We came to celebrate my birthday and even mentioned it in the reservation, yet it was completely ignored. No acknowledgment, no dessert, not even a “happy birthday.” On top of that, the service was incredibly slow and inattentive. We waited ages just to get drinks, and our server rarely checked in. For a place that positions itself as upscale, I expected at least a bit of effort to make guests feel welcome — especially for a special occasion. The food was decent, but honestly, it’s hard to enjoy it when the experience feels forgotten and impersonal. Definitely not the spot I’d recommend for any kind of celebration.

I honestly don’t know where to begin. The only good thing about this place is how great the interior is. My friends and I had a reservation at 9 pm. We arrived there on time but our table was not ready. We were standing there for more than 30 mins waiting for our table and asking the people at the reception multiple times why aren’t they giving us our table until they finally tell us that other people were still sitting at the table that we reserved. They finally asked the people sitting at our table to leave and we were seated after waiting for around 40 mins. It is so unprofessional and unacceptable how they treated us and left us standing there in the middle of the restaurant without any explanation. They apologized at the end and gave us free fried chicken but it was honestly too late. As for the food, my friends and I shared multiple things. My favorites are the hamashi crudo and tuna coco crudo. The cubano pizza was okay. As for the rest, including lobster tacos and blackened shrimp, we did not like them. They were too spicy. Just to the note that the security guard at the door asked for IDs, which I honestly don’t understand why given that we are going to dine at a restaurant and not party in a club, so if you’re going there you need to have your ID or passport with you.

The food is pretty average and the portions are quite small, but the drinks are solid. The vibe is also pretty good. If you think of this place more as a high-end bar with snacks rather than a full restaurant, it will help you decide whether or not to come.

The pinnacle spot in Boston for Irish food. I have gone twice since being here and had possibly the best fish and chips I have ever had. The fish & chips is served with curry sauce and tartar sauce, both excellent. My wife had the beef stew which was hearty and homey (but nothing that special). On the other occasion I also had a pork belly dish that was also very tasty. The atmosphere is lively, staff is friendly and helpful and the beer selection is strong. Highly recommend to anyone looking for upscale Boston Irish pub food

A small detail but the malt vinegar brand and the offering of curry for the chips offered the perfect compliment. Recommended with enthusiasm.

A Memorable First Visit I visited with a large group and was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly everything went. For starters, I ordered a dozen fresh oysters—each one was incredibly fresh and flavorful. My main dish, the Roasted Salmon Risotto, was equally impressive: perfectly cooked salmon paired with creamy, well-seasoned risotto. Despite the size of our party, the service was excellent. Our server was attentive, efficient, and made sure everything ran seamlessly. It was my first time dining here, and I’m happy to say it left a great first impression. Highly recommend—and I'll definitely be back!

Dubliner Irish Pub, next to City Hall. Beautifully appointed bar. Must visit. Spacious and clean. Tables can be reserved in advance. Just a fun place to plan what other adventures in Boston! Pigs in a blanket were a nice snack before moving on. Next time I’ll sample more of their choices, which were very enticing! Reasonable prices and friendly & attentive service.

Stopped by for an early evening dinner and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and live music. We had the Beef and Guinness Pie, fish and chips, a cheese board and bread basket. The pie was rich and flavorful, the fish cooked to perfection, and the meal very filling and satisfying. Definitely recommend for the pub and food experience.

We ordered the Fish & Chips, some oysters, and the Shepherd’s Pie. The potato chips accompanying the fish were huge, yet delicious. The oysters we ordered came out to be quite small, but they were fresh and good in taste. The highlight among our ordered dishes was the Shepherd’s Pie. Great experience!

Stopped into The Dubliner and had a great experience. I ordered the fish and sticks, which were solid—crispy and satisfying. The standout, though, was the meat pie—absolutely delicious and full of rich, savory flavor. The beer selection was on point, and the overall vibe of the place was relaxed and welcoming. It’s got that authentic Irish pub feel without trying too hard. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area looking for good food, good drinks, and a great atmosphere.

This is a great neighborhood bar. While we didn't eat, we saw quite a few plates pass by and were very impressed. The drinks were great and the staff very friendly. Perfect spot to watch sports and especially the Detroit Lions as they have Lions watch parties for every game!

Perfect place to duck into for a few beers and nachos during an afternoon in Boston. Very chill, basic food, and good service. Basement bathrooms are about what you’d expect, but there is a whole second barroom which looked really nice, just not open in the afternoon.

I probably visited 6 bars on my vacation to Boston, and this was by far my favorite. The people who work and drink there are so friendly and welcoming. You all made us feel like we were at home. Food and drink ordering system has a few flaws, seems like they operate differently depending on the night. Sometimes you get table service for drinks, sometimes you pick it up at the bar yourself. I got the Chili cheese dogs which were absolutely killer. We came back again before leaving and I got the boneless wings. Very good food. Great prices here on everything too. Glad my Airbnb was only a 5 minute walk. You all are excellent and I will be back next time I’m in Boston!

We popped in for a quick beer while visiting Boston. While there were two seats empty at the bar we were told we couldn’t sit there because one of the employees was sitting there. We ordered two draft beers and paid $18. I guess you have to be a man to get good service because the girl bartender was less than friendly. We love a good dive bar, but we won’t be coming back to this one.

Really fun casual sports bar. They have a decent selection of beers and a well stocked bar. There are plenty of screens, so you'll always have a good view of whatever match is on. Staff were really friendly, and it was obvious they took their jobs very seriously, constantly rushing around delivering drinks, wiping down tables, etc. $3 for a pint of bud is a massive draw. It was their sign advertising this that led me to the place. They also do pitchers, which seemed popular. Toilets were also cleaner than I usually expect from a sports bar. I didn't order any food, but it looked really good and was served until pretty late.

Men's bathroom is pretty gross and benches in the booths are rather uncomfortable. Wings were decent but breaded, which is not my preference.

I had heard good things about Brick and Mortar, and now I know why! The drinks were delicious as was the food. I'd definitely come back. I got the pussycat drink ($17) which was delightfully sweet and fruity. The anchovy toast ($13) had a really nice green butter on the bread, and a perfect mix of olives, peppers, and anchovy -- a really nice combo. I also really liked the "pizza" ($16) which had a lot of perfectly tangy-seasoned arugula, prosciutto, some cheese, and crispy chewy bread. The deviled eggs ($11) also had a nice horseradish kick to them, and the bacon wrapped dates ($11) were also good, but I liked the anchovy toast and pizza better. I'd absolutely come back!

Brick & Mortar offer all the ingredients for a great date night. The drinks were fantastic and the lighting was romantic. Just know that there aren't a ton of food options, but personally that did not bother me. I would say that this would be a great place to start or end your night.

Had an amazing time tonight, I am so happy my friend recommended us visiting this establishment. The atmosphere was welcoming, the music choices were spot on and I cannot emphasize my appreciation for the staff. Our server Nicholas (also a bartender) made our time at brick and mortar so special and was extremely attentive. In my humble opinion he not only deserves the world but also recognition (don’t know how much he is being paid but double it and everyone should tip him please) for his ability to make the night special and fun. The potato chips were delicious and crunchy. The Mexican radio had me hooked, and was extremely smooth. Would come again, and recommend it to others!

Such a cool spot. It's a speakeasy and I just found out the old Chef from Nosh & Grog in Canton is here now Chef Daniel and I can't wait for his creativity and delicious food to come out. Definitely making this my new spot. Great atmosphere, great food (small plates) and awesome drinks.

Brick and Mortar is a fantastic speakeasy tucked away in Central Square—so hidden, I almost didn’t find it the first time, which honestly just added to the charm. I used to spend more time in the area, but even now that I’m there less often, I think it’s worth making the trip back just for this place. The vibe is fun and low-key, and it’s one of those spots that really sticks with you. Definitely a hidden gem worth checking out.

What a cool place! Not quite a speakeasy, but definitely gives off that "secret spot" vibe. The "community seating" encourages guests to strike up a conversation with their neighbors and get to know someone new, but the dark, intimate atmosphere gives you equal freedom to imagine you have the whole place to yourself. It is a subtle triumph of interior design to make a small crowded space feel both private and shared at the same time. The sweeping, solid copper bar is beautiful on its own, but there are lots of nooks and small, artistic touches that create an overall mysterious, romantic ambiance that we loved. It would be sad if a place as well-designed as this didn't have an equally brilliant menu, but Brick & Mortar does NOT disappoint! Inventive, complex cocktails evolve in the glass. This is a great place for an aspiring mixologist (like myself) to come for inspiration, and to spend time trying to deconstruct the alchemy of the experience. The staff is also top notch. We came on a Thursday evening to have a cocktail before heading down the street to Asmara for an Eritrean feast (also highly recommended). It was so good, we decided to come back later the same night for a night cap. Not only did the staff remember us and welcome us back, but when we moved from the wall where we were standing and waiting for a seat to the bar, the bartender already knew who we were and which drinks we'd ordered. It's maybe a little thing, but I appreciate knowing there's a team of people working together, communicating to create a pleasant experience for their guests. This is the kind of place that makes people like me fantasize about opening up my own bar someday. 😎 They create a wonderful experience and make it seem effortless. Highly recommended!!!

The chicken wings? Crispy & delicious. The beer? A proper draft of Guinness in a proper etched bottom glass. The pricing? Very decent, even competitive. The vibes? There are none. It's like sitting alone in your grandparents' parlor—comfortable enough, but dull. The exception for that is coming on Paddy's Day after the Southie Parade, then the place is lively. However, note on that day that they'll only have one or two items that the kitchen will offer.

I’ve been going to this pub for years, and I thought it was a safe haven. Turns out it isn’t. I heard a bartender make an antisemitic joke to some patrons. I’m Jewish. When I calmly and politely asked him to repeat the joke to me, he refused—because, of course, he knew it was virulently antisemitic. When I told him I was a victim of antisemitic violence—again, in a calm and polite manner—he refused to repeat his “joke.” If you’ve ever been a part of a minority group, you know what this means—“joke” is a dog whistle for overt bigotry, and the refusal to acknowledge it to the person or party is a form of gaslighting. He made it seem like I was out of line for—again, calmly and politely—asking him to repeat this “joke” to my face. I plan on going back and reporting this to the manager and/or owner of Eire; if no one takes it seriously there, I’m sure local media will be highly interested. Oh, and the bartender is the older gentleman with the excellent curlicued mustache I’ve complimented many times. I never thought a person who I’d had many pleasant exchanges with since I moved to this neighborhood could be such a bigot.

Went for a quick lunch and sat in a booth, across from the bar. The food and prices were great. The service, from the bartender, was good and friendly. The bathroom was actually pretty clean. I had a very good pastrami sandwich with French Fries and my guest had a nice Irish Stew. Would definitely recommend and return. 👍😊🍺

I get that the roast beef special is kinda the jam here, but my god this was the best tuna melt of my life. And the FRIES. Sweet jesus they're crispy and cooked to perfection I didn't even need ketchup I just devoured them.

It's a bar. Clean, sparse, big TVs, old school. Probably used to smell like cigarettes. Bartender was lovely, very friendly. We ordered lunch, no table service. My chicken Caesar salad was enormous and perfectly fine. Chicken was oddly teriyaki flavored. On street parking. Nightmarishly tiny bathroom.

Oh what a joy! A superb example of an Irish pub in Boston. Lovely beers, authentic interior with all the idiosyncratic touches you could wish for. Absolutely the best and authentic South Boston Irish pub. Even had a backroom where a guy like Whitey was holding court! Kidding, but it had that vibe.

Excellent neighborhood dive bar. My brother and I can’t get enough of dives and this one he’d scoped out for us. We kept it simple with some beers. First local to Boston, second a Guinness. Guinness was excellent. Perfect pour. The bar is dark with tvs, they were showing sports. Pretty much exactly what you want from your local haunt. Cash only as any dive should be, but be prepared

Really fun place with a wide selection of draft beers and good music. It is cash only but there is an ATM in the place, and you can bring your own food. There are many places for takeout in the same street including delicious empanadas from Pikalo. Staff was friendly and helpful.

We go here because it’s the ONLY Boston bar where dogs are allowed since they don’t have an on-site kitchen I think (grandfathered in?). The back patio is a secluded spot with lots of plants and seating areas. Decent beer variety. Cash only!

Villa Mexico Cafe is amazing! The food is fresh, flavorful, and full of authentic taste. Their burritos and salsa are out of this world, and the portions are generous. The staff is friendly and makes you feel right at home. If you’re craving real Mexican food in Boston, this is the place to go!

This is one of my favorite small businesses in the downtown/Financial District! The quality is always there and their black salsa is delicious. It's comfort food, a straightforward menu, friendly service and a great family-owned and women-owned business to support. I try to come before 12 to beat the lunch line. Very limited seating so best to take carryout.

I stopped in for lunch on a Thursday and was very impressed! I had the spicy mole chicken burrito with guacamole. It was probably the best burrito I've had in Boston. The flavors were rich and balanced, and I really loved the taste of the grilled tortilla surrounding it. Their outdoor patio is really nice. I'm always looking for places where I can eat outdoors. I have had friends rave about this place ever since they moved to this location from Beacon Hill, and I'm glad I finally tried it. I will definitely be back!

I ordered beef quesadilla w sour cream n guacamole side, the tortilla is soft and the beef is tasty, so does my son's beef burrito. I just wish there is some tomato or onion on the side to make the foods taste more complex but overall is good.

EDIT: people really get bent out of shape about the most random stuff in these reviews, I don't think any of it is warranted. I pop in now and then and I really like their food and never have any issues with service, everyone is friendly. I grew up out in southern CA eating Mexican almost daily, and this is my favorite Mexican spot on the east coast (Alejandro's in Roanoke VA of all places is a close second). The chorizo is highly recommended, and I really like that black salsa, but most of the other dishes I've had here are great too.

I've been going here since it was in the gas station across from MGH. Love the food so much. It is made with such care and the flavors are amazing every time. I haven't been in a while but I know I need to go back soon. I miss that yummy chorizo.

This place is one of my favorites—I’m a big fan of their sourdough. The pastries are great too, but the sourdough really stands out as some of the best in Massachusetts. But the coffee... I was honestly shocked by the milk foam today. Given the price and the beans, it should be at a specialty level, but the barista clearly didn’t put any effort into it. I wasn’t even expecting latte art, but I did expect a bit more care than this

The La Saison is a great bakery shop. The rose latte and Saffron latte were so delicious. Their cheesecake “Akbar mashti” was also delicious and not only packed with sugar. We got also breakfast sandwiches that were good too. I would come back again for lattes and pastries!

Sandwiches are generally available after 10 am. Egg burger with cheese is nice however, it'd be better to put some leaves. Croissants are good. They have various bakeries, chocolate cakes and rolls.

Croissant was quite good (especially for Boston) with a very good pull and nice loud crunch sound. Kouign Aman was delightful, light and sweet. Pain au chocolate was not bad—very nice dark chocolate but the pastry itself was a bit less puffy and crispy than I would prefer. Outdoor seating only, the vibes are great, queer friendly, and relaxed(even if the construction across the street is awful and has been going on for years).

The bread here is significantly overpriced for the quality. Paying $7.50 for a barbari bread that isn’t exceptional feels unreasonable. The long lines, crowded space with no indoor seating, fancy lattes, and Americanized Middle Eastern offerings generate hype and make the menu accessible to a wide audience, but the bread itself doesn’t measure up. There are other bakeries that offer tastier breads at far better value. Gyumri Lavash, Clear Flour and Hungry Ghost all make breads with superior flavor and texture that are worth paying a premium for. I wanted to love this place because of the team running it, but it feels more reliant on marketing and hype than on true quality.

Coffee great and their baked foods are fresh and delicious. Ordered Saffron Pistachio croissant, totally loved it

I ate the most amazing piece of Sicilian pizza at La Saison. It was orders of magnitude better than any Sicilian pizza I have ever had. The tanginess of the sauce, a rich aroma of spices and cheese burst into my mouth a on first bite. It looked delicious too. I had another bite noticing that the dough was perfectly to my taste, a little soft just under the cheese, firm and chewy on the bottom. The crust or edge was incredibly flavorful as well with its slightly browned cheese, oregano and other spices. I took a few more heavenly bites and had to pause and talk with my wife and another patron about how good this pizza was. I contemplated saving half for later, but then couldn’t resist finishing it. I told the servers inside how good it was and they said a Sicilian chef had made it. Wow!

Club Café is one of my favorite go-to spots in the South End, especially for weekend brunch. My friends and I come here often—whether we have a play to see at the nearby Lyric Stage or not. I believe the restaurant gives a discount if you have a ticket. Check with your server as rules may change. The atmosphere is always lively, the brunch is consistently wonderful, and the prices are a great value for the quality and experience. I personally recommend the Eggs Benedict and the Maryland crab cakes—both are absolutely delicious. One of my friends always gets the buttermilk pancakes and loves them, and another friend is a big fan of the Cobb salad. They’ve also tried a couple of the cocktails and said they were very good. Highly recommend the berry pies with ice cream. One thing to be aware of: the bathrooms are unisex, and while that’s not a problem, there’s a bit of a learning curve. Most women head straight to the first restroom—which happens to be the one with urinals. Men, in the know, usually skip to the second bathroom without urinals. It might help to label the doors more clearly (e.g., “Bathroom with Urinals” vs. just “Bathroom”) to avoid any confusion. There is a step outside that either one of my friends or I trip over. Every. Single. Time. We do this even though we are careful. Just be careful. Service here is friendly and relaxed—not the fastest, but warm and welcoming. All in all, Club Café is a hidden treasure. Those who know it, know it—and once you do, you’ll likely be back. I highly recommend it for a fun and flavorful brunch in the South End.

I went here with my friend for very first time and i would say we reached kind of very late but still they served food and shrimps are super delicious pizza is good too and Music and ambience is awesome perfect place to dance and enjoy your night i can’t wait to go again. But somehow i forgot to take pictures of my food but its good.

It was my first time there and I had a really nice experience, good was great! All the bartenders very nice vibe and the place awesome and pretty huge, music was amazing too… coming back with my friends for sure!

I’m a gay man. I was enjoying the bar. Dancing and talking to friends. When it was time to leave there were about 6 women dancing so aggressively that I had to touch their shoulders so that they wouldn’t wack me when I went by. One of them said, why are you touching me. I said, I’m sorry. I was just trying to get by. And another woman came and punched me on the side of my head and ran away into the crowd. Security came but couldn’t find her. It’s not safe there. They are trying but the culture has shifted.

First and foremost, the bald bouncer took my friends ID (she is 23) and we had left by the time we realized it was gone and had to backtrack when he could have given it back to her and/or contacted us immediately. That was incredibly frustrating and really bad for their brand. The Dutchess bartender was great and really the only redeeming factor for my friends and I. The vibes were okay. Loved that it was a very inclusive and safe space but the music was awful. The songs they played were barely known and I think they could have done a much better job. Overall, I was disappointed and I would not spend my money here again.

Such a lame place, not worth the $20, security is so pathetic and on a power trip. My friend accidentally left a nip in her purse from last weekend, showed security her purse, and he said none of us could come in even if she threw it away

My fiancé and I LOVE The Banshee. From the staff and food to the fun and upbeat atmosphere, it’s the highlight of our week every time we visit. Aside from being our local bar, my fiancé just threw me the most amazing surprise party in the upstairs space. Our families are still raving about the honey mustard tenders + espresso martinis! ❤️

Went for a Packer Game while in Boston. PackersEverywhere group was great - met Packer fans from around the country. Recommend arriving early - standing room only by game start time. Food was good, prices good, bartender Joy AMAZING!!! The only downside was the room was freezing - so dress like you are attending the frozen tundra.

Massive portions of authentic Fish & Chips (fries, well-seasoned) ready and taken out in 20min. Lowkey Irish pub with an unsuspecting but quality food menu.

Realllly good food & great drinks. Staff is all super friendly & they are always open for primer league games (some days as early as 8:30am) and my favorite local bar. The patio in the summer is super nice. They have an upstairs room that you can rent for events & Ray & Jemma are quick to accommodate large groups and reserve space if you give them enough notice (a week). Highly recommend especially to watch sports & chat with some locals

Had a great time watching soccer/futbol at the Banshee. I've been there a few times and have enjoyed the service and the food. The Chicken Caesar Salad Pizza was very good.

I recently had my 26th birthday party at the Banshee and it could not have been better. From the staff to the food to the event space itself. It was so seamless and stress free. The entire team at Banshee especially Ray were so helpful. I highly recommend this establishment. It won't disappoint !!

Hosted my fiancé's 30th birthday on the second floor. Ray and the staff were amazing. Everyone was super nice and accommodating. The food was great. Will definitely be booking again for a party!!

Great visit before and after a ballgame. Simple menu but great good and friendly staff rooftop patio is another great option with view of fenway. We came in wearing jays gear and were approached and welcome to boston. Love beer. Stop in large varity of different ales,lagers. Ipas

Lots of space on each of the 4 floors. The rooftop is a nice touch but they do put a limit on how many people can be up there. They on have one toilet in the rooftop and if you go downstairs to use the bathroom , if there are people waiting to go to the rooftop you will have to wait in line. On a nice day its gonna be crowded. Good prices in beer and food. Located a block from Fenway.

I was kind of shocked how belittling the manager and his other staff members were. We were down on the bottom floor before going to the Sox game and it was surprisingly not overly busy at all. We went up to the bar to pay for our food then asked the manager and bartender about Boston and their restaurant, and I felt really disrespected by their quickness to leave the conversation... then they made it obvious that they were making fun of us. I felt like I went back 10 years to freshman year of high school... I won't be going back to support business done like that... Very disappointed that the experience ended that way. To mention food, the Caesar salad was a big portion which was awesome, but be sure to get the dressing on the side bc my salad was drenched and pretty soggy. The chicken tenders were yummy but hilariously they didn't bring out the ones we ordered... We didn't mention it to them and just ate what they brought us. And, I only had water as my beverage and it tasted like soda or juice was in it... Probably shared taps... Overall, don't expect too much when coming here.

The best service we have had so far in the city! We sat on the rooftop before the Sox game on Friday. Food, drinks, service and live music was awesome! Had a blast! Definitely recommend checking this place out!

The burger is amazing. Two patties, cheese and a great bun. Handcut fries that are perfectly crispy! Great food. The service pretty spot on....once they get to you. There seems to be little sense of urgency but they are very friendly and answer any requests professionally. Guess when you have a huge line you don't have to worry about being fast. Maybe try it during the week, not on a weekend.

Loved Deck 12! The views are absolutely amazing — perfect spot to unwind. The chicken tacos were good, but the cocktails were superb. Great vibes all around. Will definitely be back!

The rooftop had a beautiful view. The weather on 7/14/25 was perfect with a slight breeze. Our server was a little slow for our large party of 11 to 12, though a majority of us were only purchasing drinks. My Cobb salad would have been better with Romain Lettuce or another darker green option. My daughter got the Cookies and cream cake dessert that suits her liking.

I recently visited Deck12 with five of my girlfriends, and I have to say—what an amazing experience! It was my first time at a rooftop restaurant, and everything from the vibe to the view made it extra special. We were there celebrating three big occasions— a birthday, a retirement, and a divorce— and Deck12 truly delivered the perfect setting for our night out. The atmosphere was fun and lively, the food and drinks were delicious, and our server, David, was outstanding! He was personable, attentive, friendly, and made sure our table was well taken care of throughout the evening. We had almost everything on the Sharing Menu - Mezze Platter, Hush Puppies, Truffle Fries, Gochujang Wings, Scallion Pancake, "Deck Out" Nachos, Deck 12 Onion Rings Tower, Margherita Flatbread...absolutely delicious. We started with the Summer Sangria... Highly recommend Deck12 if you're looking for a place to celebrate, unwind, or just enjoy a great rooftop evening with friends. We'll definitely be back!

Deck 12 is a great place to grab dinner and drinks with some friends. We were able to reserve an outdoor table and the view was amazing. Our server was great and everything came out in a timely manner. We ordered the tacos, mezze platter, and shrimp scampi. The shrimp scampi was my favorite! Highly recommend this place

We had cocktails on the outside deck. It has a fun ski lodge theme. Deck chairs made of skis and ski lift swing chairs. Beautiful view of Boston. The heat lamps keep it warm during the cold months. We visited in November and were warm.

beautiful place however the food was extremely underwhelming. My girlfriends and I had gone yesterday for a friends birthday and half of us ordered carne asada tacos. The meat was not seasoned and the texture was everything but tender. I took one bite and could not manage to continue with the rest of the meal. The rest of the group got fish and chips which ended up being more breading than actual fish and a lot of fries😕. the drinks were an amazing experience, i’d recommend you to come for drinks only !!

Everytime I’ve come to the Alley has been great. Friendly staff, reasonably priced and generously poured drinks, and the food is great. Awesome events too! Bouncer even checked on my friend who had a little too much to drink and brought them a water bottle. Thank you Alley!!

First gay bar I've been to in about 23 years. Really looking for dinner after a late show. Pretty entertaining bar with really good karaoke singers. Food was pretty good. Burger would have gotten the 5 star if it weren't for the bun. Not a fan of the cold dense bun. Burger was tasty though. My husband got the nachos, which were pretty. Bar tenders were busy but managed to give good service. 👍

The Alley Bar has an interesting concept at first glance, but in reality, it turned out to be extremely confusing and disorganized. The service was among the worst I’ve ever experienced — the bartender served us once and then blatantly ignored us, refusing to serve again without any explanation. I’ve never seen a place where customers have to practically beg to get a drink. I’ve been to many bear bars across Europe and have never been treated with such disregard. I left the venue immediately, disappointed by the arrogance and lack of professionalism. A frustrating experience that I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

I went to the bar on Halloween just to socialize, but I left early because of rudeness from two employees. First, as I was going inside, a bouncer decided to be a smart-ass to a customer, me, by saying sarcastically, "You’re welcome" even though I was by then at a distance I had not said thank you, nor was I wrong not to engage with that employee. Once fully inside, I reported the insult to two other employees, one of which, fittingly wearing a jail costume, said that the bouncer at the front door was "just doing his job." I countered that being rude to customers is not part of any job at a restaurant/bar. I was going to eat there, but I did not feel like enabling such a pathetic business so I left and ate at home. Also, the management is cheap on portions of some ingredients in some entres, which are unbalanced as a result.

I visited Boston from Houston, Texas. I wanted to try a LGBT bar. I found this bar on Google and had to go. This bar is very intimate. I went during the day, and the bartender was very attentive. It was a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I had two drinks: an espresso martini and a spritz. I would definitely recommend this place for a drink during the day. I would love to see the atmosphere in the evening.

Friends and I were talking about international travel and that triggered the bartender? Not sure why, super strange. All patrons at the bar said they don't know what's wrong with the bartender (even someone who said they've been here multiple times was confused). The guys at the front entrance were very nice and welcoming so don't know what happened here at the bar. For clarification this was 4/19 9pm. If he's depressed he should work on that and not let it seep into patron experience. Tighten up Bartender. Thanks.....

Read through the replies of the owner to some of the one star reviews. Supremely immature and unprofessional. They seriously should try treating people with a little more respect. This place is actually quite cool, but it rips you off with what is essentially a hidden fee. You get a glass of wine that’s listed for $17, but end up paying $25 because of automatic 20% gratuity. I’m fine with paying a tip, but it should not be automatically included. Also, 20% tip for pouring a glass of wine is kinda crazy. I get if I’m seated getting served a meal, or if I’m getting a fancy cocktail. But not for just pouring a glass. That’s barely service. It’s only marginally less insane than asking for a tip at a self checkout counter. If you need to charge $25 per glass, then please just list that price on the menu. I’d be willing to pay that for a good glass (maybe not at a place with such bad service, but that’s a separate issue). But it makes me irate if I expect to pay $17 and then suddenly get a bill that’s like 40% higher. If you need to trick and rip off your customers to make ends meet, then your business model is a failure and you should close up shop.

Fantastic menu of unique wines (many, if not all, are natural wines). Staff are really lovely and helped me and my husband select wines that we enjoyed very much. The space is intimate and has a great vibe. If I lived nearby, I'd be a regular for sure.

Impeccable knowledge of their wine and their patrons. I walk in without a plan (because I know nothing about wine), trusting the bartenders instead to 'take me on a journey'. They never disappoint. A lively yet personal space that is thoughtful about curating a good time for all.

There's something about Rebel Rebel - when you walk in it's like you're on a different plane. The world falls away and you're just meant to sit and enjoy some incredible wine in an incredible atmosphere. The staff are knowledgeable and ready to help you select the best option for your visit before you have to go back out in the real world ether. I always deeply enjoy my time and my beverages at Rebel Rebel. and I always snap a new photo of a decor I hadn't noticed before.

Was refused clean glassware. I came back to the bar for 2 more glasses of wine, bar tender asked me what glass was used by who, I said I don’t know can I just get two clean glasses, “No, we hand wash our glasses”, then proceeded to pour wine into the used glasses. Nice wine bar, right?

This establishment is the reason I am in Somerville. It's how I discovered Bow Market. If natural wine and inclusive feminist spaces are your jam, you will find much love here. The wine is unpretentious and delicious while the staff and owner are spectacular. This isn't just a wine bar, it's a community building space.

A dive in the truest sense of the word. Came here for the pool, stayed for the affordable beers and good company. Cash only, and the tables are free. Unpretentious and a ton of fun, swing by if you need a break from the seaport.

This place lives up to its claim to be the world’s greatest dive bar. If you hate good banter, if you like your drinks watered down and if you don’t like free pool and darts, do not go here. Steve the barman treated us like family while we were there. Loved it so much we had to come back. Thanks for the shirts Steve! ❤️

Me and my wife went there yesterday had a great time ,great atmosphere and super friendly barman named stephen he's a real gentleman, also had great time with locals. We're from Ireland and will definitely be back next time in boston.

Only reason it gets a two star rating is that my friends enjoy this place for some reason, other than that don't come here. The bouncers ego didn't let the sober guy in for being to “drunk”.

Atmosphere: typical dive bar, lgbtqa friendly, in a great location Service: surprisingly speedy/ friendly, even security treated us kindly! Drinks: supper cheap, mixed drinks were honest and bottled beer was the cheapest this side of the harbor! Would definitely make the hike back over the harbor with this as the final stop, we highly recommend!
