Gourmet grocery store

Eataly is an upscale Italian food hall that offers a variety of dining options, quick-service counters, and groceries. It was first established in 2002 and has since expanded to over 35 locations worldwide. The concept behind Eataly is to provide high-quality food, both prepared dishes and ingredients, in one location where visitors can dine, shop for products, and even participate in cooking classes.
While the originator may be a bum, Eataly is a great conception of an Italian food hall. Somewhat reminiscent of the grocery stores in Italy, there are some great products and prepared foods in this store. It can be very busy but it's a large store so it was fun to explore. Great for a meal or a snake.

Eataly is ok. The food is pretty good, the service is good, and the setting is fine. For the price, though, I cannot recommend it. Even the taste of Napoli costs nearly 30 dollars a person for small portions of pasta without meat! There are many other options throughout Boston that serve better pasta for much cheaper.

Ok so let’s be clear here this place is not just a dining establishment…they have an amazing and authentic Italian market, which was incredible to look through. We got the pizza and a sandwhich and it was goof nothing special special but was a solid quick bite. I would say there could be some improvements to the service and also maybe like just ensuring that you get the freshest food - we were thrown off by some of the staff sniffing a container of meat sauce haha…would definitely recommend you stop in though and grab a sandwhich on their amazing fresh bread that is really the huge selling point here for us. AMAZING bread amazing ingredients.

Imagine stepping into an enchanting evening at Eataly Boston—a true feast for the senses! Picture this: The Barolo Wine Dinner, where every detail sang of sophistication and taste. With no less than four courses, each artistically paired with a luscious Barolo wine, your taste buds were in for a real treat. As you strolled in, the anticipation built. The culinary wizards worked their magic right before your eyes, transforming simple ingredients into masterpieces. From the first sizzle to the final flourish on the plate, it was a spectacle of culinary artistry. Every bite was an adventure, an explosion of flavors that could only be described as downright extraordinary. It was as if each dish was saying, “Hello, darling! Enjoy this!” And enjoy it you did—every morsel was a symphony of taste, earning the coveted 'chef's kiss' for its perfection. This wasn’t just dinner; it was an experience, a gathering of food lovers basking in an evening of gourmet delights and elegant wines. So, next time you think of dining, remember, there's nothing quite like an evening hosted by the masters at Eataly Boston. I can't wait to try the cooking classes! Update 11/13/2025 Here’s my honest take on Eataly’s Holiday Festa: A total blast. Picture at least 15 wine stations, each pouring six or more bottles, so you could compare styles without rushing—silky reds, crisp whites, a few surprises. The food stations were just as thoughtful: briny-fresh oysters, perfectly seared steak, turkey with savory sausage stuffing, and decadent truffles. The dessert finish—cannoli and a delicate pear cake—felt like a hug. Fresh florals from Bloom made the space feel festive instead of crowded, and the live DJ kept the energy high without drowning out conversation. I’m officially hooked on their events; I haven’t attended one I wouldn’t happily repeat. Aged reds you might see at Eataly - Barolo (multi-year releases; often 6–10 years from vintage) — producers like Vietti, Pio Cesare, Borgogno - Brunello di Montalcino and Riserva — Altesino, Banfi, Caparzo - Amarone della Valpolicella — Allegrini, Tommasi, Masi - Barbaresco — Produttori del Barbaresco - Taurasi — Feudi di San Gregorio, Mastroberardino - Chianti Classico Riserva/Gran Selezione — Fèlsina, Castello di Ama Aged whites you might see at Eataly - Soave Classico (capable of a few years’ age) — Pieropan (Calvarino, La Rocca) - Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Riserva — Garofoli (Podium), Umani Ronchi (Plenio) - Fiano di Avellino — Feudi di San Gregorio, Mastroberardino - Etna Bianco — Benanti, Planeta - Gavi di Gavi — La Scolca - Alto Adige Chardonnay/Pinot Bianco — Elena Walch, Cantina Terlano EATELY MANAGEMENT Wine Team how about a “vertical” tastings or producer nights?!!!🙏🏽🍾🍷🥂

Eatly is a solid spot if you’re looking for a quick meal that still feels fresh. The food comes out really fast, which is great when you’re in a rush, though the flavors can be a bit on the bland side. Nothing bad, just not super exciting. The staff are consistently friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience much better. It’s clean, efficient, and reliable for a casual bite. If they added a bit more seasoning or boldness to the dishes it’d easily be a 5-star place.

I was able to buy a gasket filter replacement for one of our bialetti moka pots here(on sale nevertheless)!!! This was my first time in an Eataly store and it brought me back to springtime when I was all up in Trastevere, Rome, Italy. I had a great time looking at stuff but eventually I want to visit the location in Vegas.
Danielle R — Google review
Eataly is the perfect place for an afternoon shopping spree or for a date night and a feast for the senses. They have so many options, delicious food, pastries and gelato. The grocery store carries fresh produce along with all the Italian delicacies.
Claudia L — Google review
The food is good but expensive. I wouldn’t say it’s authentic. It’s just American Italian food with less oil and salt. We went in 1.5 hours before the closing time. The waitress acted like she wanted us to finish ASAP. The restaurant is very bright. Same vibe as a high school cafeteria.

Nestled in the heart of Boston, the Boston Public Market is a vibrant year-round indoor marketplace that showcases the best of local and New England food. With around 40 diverse vendors, visitors can explore an array of offerings from fresh seasonal produce and fish to gourmet treats like artisanal cheeses and locally crafted chocolates. This bustling market is not just about food; it also features unique gift items such as beautifully crafted serving trays made from local granite and salad bowls carved from fallen trees.
What a cute and fun space with great vibes! There are stores to browse offering everything from gifts to plants and more. Interesting food options as well including local ice cream and a bagel shop. Seating isn't plentiful, but I did manage to snag a table. Most of the seating is in an area by the bagel shop. Highly recommend checking it out.

Boston Public Market is a fantastic indoor space filled with local vendors, fresh food, and a great mix of grab-and-go meals, specialty items, and handmade goods. It’s clean, well-organized, and a perfect spot to explore whether you’re a Boston local or just visiting. We love walking through to grab a coffee, a snack, or a fresh meal—there’s always something new to try. You’ll find everything from artisan cheeses and baked goods to farm-fresh produce, flowers, seafood, and unique gifts. It’s a great place to support small, local businesses all under one roof. Tip: It’s right next to Haymarket, so you can stop in after grabbing produce outside, and if you’re looking for a spot to relax, there’s seating inside and public restrooms available. Great in any season, especially on a rainy or cold day!
Nicole P — Google review
Boston Public Market was a fun little stop. It’s definitely on the smaller side — we were through it quicker than expected — but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in personality. I grabbed a bagel and a latte and just sat for a bit, taking in the music (they were playing cumbia the whole time — unexpected, but honestly kind of perfect). The vendors were friendly, and there’s a good mix of local treats, snacks, and handmade goods. If you’re in the area, it’s worth checking out — just don’t expect a massive market. It’s more like a cozy, curated indoor food hall. Bonus points for the vibe
Omar — Google review
We had heard about this on a TV show, and we’re so happy we stopped by. There are many different food options here and we enjoyed walking around and trying a few different food items!
Jeff — Google review
Stopped by Boston Public Market for lunch. There were several vendors indoors but I wasn’t able to check out each one unfortunately. Highly recommend Red Apple Farm, their cider donuts are a must. The hard cider was delicious as well! I also tried the rice & beans with chicken tacos from Mr. Tamole. Overall good experience. Definitely recommend making this one of your stops if you’re visiting Boston!

When I travel around the country and around the world I have always stopped in to the local public market or food hall or farmers market . The Boston Public Market is amongst the top ones I have seen in the USA . A combination of local small businesses retail , a mix of various food oriented shopping and of course a great selection of restaurant stalls with their unique flavors . Lively crowd , happy people and good vibes !
Michael A — Google review
I'm from a small town and somehow our farmers' market is better than this public market. I've also been to markets in mid sized cities that have much better selection. The environment is really nice - the downside is just that there's not a lot of stalls and variety. I'd pop in if you're in the area but don't go out of your way.
Rae R — Google review
A real neat marketplace full of food and gift stalls. There is even a face painting stall for kids. We came on a Saturday and there was a good size farmers market right outside. Lots of fresh vegetables and seafood were on sale here. A good experience.

I went for a lovely afternoon here. They were sampling some things and having a huge cookbook sale. The space is small but seems perfect for intimate cooking lessons. My review is mainly for the incredible cookbook selection and they were even having a sale. Its such a well curated selection, the perfect place to come for your foodie friend. I got some great recommendations and have been pouring over the books ever since. I can't wait to sign up for a class!

Absolutely amazing. The food, the people the experience are all amazing. Seats only ten people so book early. Expensive but is money very well spent. Wine pairings are great and progress just as well as the menu does.

Truly a unique dining experience. Enjoy a delicious dinner with a small group of new friends and get a very informative lesson on cooking and food. Definitely repeatable as well since the dinner themes and lessons change with the seasons.

Selfup Cooking Classes in Boston offer a unique and enjoyable experience for both novice and experienced home chefs. Participants have the opportunity to learn from skilled gourmet chefs who share their expertise in creating local, regional, and international dishes. Whether it's mastering Boston baked beans and lobster rolls or delving into French pastries and Asian sushi, attendees are sure to have fun while discovering new culinary skills and traditional techniques.
I bought this cooking class as a birthday gift for my partner, and it was a fantastic experience! While I’ve taken cooking classes before, this was my first time with Selfup, and it certainly lived up to the glowing reviews I read. We attended the Italian Date Night class, and it was amazing. The venue was easy to find, though I’d recommend arriving a little early to secure parking. The chef and his assistant were so warm and welcoming, making the entire evening smooth and enjoyable. We were greeted with wine, sodas, and some delicious bites — fresh bread, cheese, and meats — which was a nice touch. The class was small and intimate, allowing us all to relax, chat, and have fun together. The chef was an excellent instructor: knowledgeable, clear with his instructions, and genuinely entertaining. What I loved most was how interactive and educational the experience was. It was also a great opportunity for some team-building. My favorite part was making homemade pasta, which was a first for me, and I had so much fun! If you’re looking for a fun, unique date night or just an enjoyable cooking experience, I highly recommend this class. There are tons of different options, so I’ll definitely be coming back again!
Hannah — Google review
We had a great time at this class. We ended up not booking the couples class and thankfully we were moved to the couples romantic date night dinner. It was a ton of fun. We made the burrata from scratch which was amazing!!! We made pasta from scratch which I had never done before. The food turned out super yummy. Generous portions and it was such a fun community vibe with chef Gary. You get to know everyone in the class during the pasta making because it becomes such a group effort. There was great music to make it more fun as well. Why just go out to dinner when you could do this cooking class before !! Highly highly recommend. We will definitely come back!
Hadeel A — Google review
Chef John was so fun and patient with our large group of women! The recipes are delicious and he did amazing helping all 40 of us make a meal for kings! Valentina did great teaching us how to make ravioli as well! Couldn’t recommend this event enough! Made our Women in Beer event special!
Maria H — Google review
Chef Gary is the man! We got soaked by the rain before class and he gave us chef jackets so we weren’t wearing wet clothes for the class. The class was informative and fun. Low stress and plenty of time to rest in between dishes. Highly recommend for anyone with any cooking experience

We came to the Self Up Italian cooking class in Boston to celebrate my sister’s birthday, and it was such a great experience! We met an amazing group of people — the class was super interactive and fun from start to finish. Chef Gary was absolutely wonderful — so attentive, informative, and funny! He really made the experience special by going out of his way to celebrate my sister’s birthday and took the time to get to know us personally. We left full, happy, and already planning our next class. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a unique and memorable night out!
Ava F — Google review
We had an incredible time with Selfup Cooking as part of our company retreat and team-building activity! Chef Gary and his assistant were absolutely wonderful, engaging, patient, and full of energy. Our group of about 22 people was split into two teams to compete in a fun cooking challenge, which made the experience even more interactive and entertaining. They gave us the same ingredients and basically said “GO!” LOL Chef Gary went above and beyond to accommodate several food sensitivities and allergies, crafting the most delicious dairy-free, soy-free, nut-free, and corn-free meal I’ve ever had outside my own home. His care, creativity, and enthusiasm made everyone feel included and valued. It was the perfect mix of team bonding, friendly competition, and interesting food. I’d highly recommend Selfup Cooking for any group looking for a unique and inclusive team-building experience!

We joined 4 other couples to make a multi course Italian meal. Chef Anthony was so entertaining and knowledgeable. He kept the class light and fun and went with the flow. Each couple picks one or two dishes to make and then everyone sits down to a whole meal. No cooking experience necessary, they have everything there and guide you through the preparation. A really fun evening that was so much more than just going out to eat. Highly recommend!

Chef Kayla was awesome! She explained everything in the process of making bagels in a way that was easy to understand, she answered any questions we had, and was always available for assistance when we needed it. My bagels turned out far better than I thought they would and they tasted amazing. I would definitely take another one if her classes. Thank you Chef Kayla!!

Better than I could have imagined! Learned so many different/unique appetizers, all delicious & upgraded from any cheese ball or dips. Got to practice pastry skills! Feels great to be in the kitchen. So happy to see Chef Simone, he made the class fun, informative & kept us all on time. Excellent instructor for skills as well as background of all the recipes; where they are from, how to use them, options. Thoroughly enjoyed the class, would recommend to everyone.

My husband signed us up for a couples Greek cooking class, May 2025. What a fabulous experience. In 90 minutes, 9 of us made 10 or 12 dishes with the support of an amazing instructor named Nyssa. We would highly recommend and will absolutely come back again. We came home with leftovers for days, big smiles on our faces and ready to host a delicious dinner party! See photo of “the spread” below.

Attended a knife class today with another couple. We had so much fun and learned a lot. Chef Ali was great to learn from, very patient, made the class fun and so much more. If you're intimidated about working with knives, this class is for you. Come prepared to cook what you cut as you have a yummy dishes to try at the end. Thank you, Chef Ali. Can't wait to sign-up for another class!

We had an absolute blast at our cooking class. Chef Jerome was super knowledgeable and took the time to show each group different skills throughout the entire night. Everything was delicious and we are already talking about taking another class! Would recommend to anyone looking for a fun date night or just want to better their cooking skills!

Chef Anthony is fantastic and he had a high bar to clear given that I’d just taken pastry with Chef Mg. ;-). He’s deeply knowledgeable, patient, precise, and puts exactly the right amount of pressure on to make the class exciting but not stressful. He taught me how how to make crepes. I never thought I’d ever successfully make a crepe. Please find attached the photograph of my crepe cake that I made for my wife’s birthday.
Aatish S — Google review
Our teacher Chef Nyssa was fantastic. The class exceeded my expectations in so many ways. When the class started, we were asked what reasons brought us there. I had a couple of things, but my number one thing with how to cut an onion without crying the new techniques that I picked up enabled me to chop up two onions in fact, and didn’t cry once. The knife skills I learned I’m already having a positive impact in my preparation of meals that I cook at home. The wide range of produce that we ended up chopping in class was used to prepare a number of meal options which we all shared together at the end. I highly recommend this course, and hope to take others at this Institute in the future.

Dropped by earlier today for some pastries... Excellent spread of delectable offerings ... the Cardamom bun was outstanding!! They also have a gourmet grocery store section that was closed when we went. They have an excellent bread selection that seems to fly off the shelves. The staff was very friendly and helpful - great shopping experience!! There is ample street parking around - but, be there early... heard that a line forms for their delectable wares!! This was my first time at Formaggio, and wow was it a sensory overload! So much pretty and delicious looking food at every corner! I saw that they had one of my favorite cheeses, Willoughby, for cheaper than Cardullo's so I got that. I asked for another creamy and pungent cheese, and the staff member helping us gave us a sample of a delightfully creamy and pungent goat cheese, so we got that. He also gave us a sample of the 20 month prosciutto, which we got as well. We also picked up the Island creek canned scallops and an Iggy's ficelle from the front. It was one of our more expensive home smorgasbords, but one of the best! Everything at Formaggio looks amazing -- I really want to try the passionfruit posset and more of their cheeses! I'll definitely be back.

Lovely cardamom buns! Please keep offering them :) I will definitely return to try more of the baked goods!

Went here for a cheese tasting class. I paid $80. I wasn’t expecting a charcuterie board, but also wasn’t expecting this… not worth $80 AT ALL. I could’ve bought all the cheeses they offered for less than $80 and would’ve had a real experience on my own. I’ve been to other cheese tasting places (specifically in Europe) and paid $20 for 2x the amount of food. Extremely overpriced for what it is.

Don’t miss their Summer BBQ! Best pulled pork and hot dog in town Also it’s nice to have their key lime posset as dessert

Waited 20 minutes for a basically inedible Mac n cheese bowl, was unbelievably greasy, there was a giant pool of oil at the bottom (photo is what was left at bottom after I poured out half the oil already. Extremely overpriced and overrated. As someone who grew up on Mac n cheese in the south, this is disgraceful

Shelves stocked with cheeses and meats? Check. A huge selection of delicious foods? Check. Friendly staff? Check. This place is insane. I cannot recommend it more. Having lived in Europe for a year, I know about shops like these, and I've got pretty high standards. They have sandwiches, prepared food, and they even offer cooking classes. They also have a section with candy, jams and preserves, flowers, and a wide selection of wine and beer. This place is amazing.

We had the most wonderful experience with Chef Lisa today in her eclectic Boston flat. My mom, my husband and I had a private cooking class where we baked beautiful blue macaroons and whipped up macaroons for snacking throughout the process, while enjoying beverages we brought with us. Lisa explained the science behind baking merengue and shared her worldly knowledge while we laughed and learned tips and tricks along the way. It was a delightful day, and we walked away with a bag full of goodies and feeling like we made a new friend and a new skill. Can’t wait to book another class soon!!

The class was informative and entertaining. Between Chef Valentina and a great group of people taking the class. We learned a lot along with having lots of laughs. Chef Magdalena was a big help also and very personable. We will most likely take more classes but bring friends along. Thanks for a great class

We had a wonderful time in Chef Shailini's class! Not only was the food delicious, she had such a warm and infectious spirit and complete with great stories and good company of our fellow learners. We really enjoyed getting to see all of the hard work that goes into food that we love to eat. Would definitely recommend and do it again!

Chef experience was awesome! We had Chef John P. who was helped by Annie? It was interactive and the tiramisu was def the highlight. Perfect for a group our size and the set up and pre-prep made it simple and educational. Loved it!

Chef Shailini's classes are truly one of a kind, the dishes we prepare together were delicious, authentic, and easily reproducible at home. She has wonderful stories and tips to share, and everyone gets to participate before sitting down together to eat it all. The classes are on the smaller size, which is perfect for creating a more friendly and personal atmosphere. I had a lot of fun, and will be returning for more of her classes!

This was my first-ever cooking class. I’m not someone who typically enjoys cooking, but since my wife is away long-term caring for her mother, I decided to give it a try. The in-person format really depends on the host—and Chef Shailini exceeded expectations. She warmly welcomed us into her home, creating a unique and personal atmosphere that made the entire experience special. There were six participants in total. Chef Shailini made us all feel at ease, encouraging a relaxed and friendly environment. She provided clear, step-by-step instructions for each of the main dishes, and her passion, energy, and deep knowledge of Thai cuisine made the class both educational and enjoyable. By the end of the session, I felt confident that I could prepare a full Thai meal for my wife when she returns. I highly recommend this class to anyone curious about Thai cooking—especially first-timers like me. Best, Han Chang
Han C — Google review
The class was good. We met at the chef’s apartment and used her personal kitchen. Chef Lisa is personable, organized, and well planned. I left three stars because although chef Lisa was really attentive to my daughter at the beginning of the class, that faded as she began chatting with my friend who works in the food industry and ignoring the child’s experience throughout the lesson. Despite this I still tipped chef Lisa, but it was mainly due to personal habit and not for exemplary service. Lastly, and equally important, the class was not worth the price $$$. There was a lot of mixing and stirring, but no clear learning objectives and outcomes. Meaning, chef Lisa can’t articulate what skills are being used or taught. A more accurate description for the class would be “kitchen helper.”

Last weekend we celebrated my husband’s 60th birthday with Chef Harold experiencing a Sushi making class. It was great fun ! He came well prepared and taught us a lot about the ingredients and techniques of making sushi. Everything was delicious ! Our cooking class at Shiso Kitchen was awesome! Jess is an excellent instructor, providing tips on technique and safe food handling practices while walking the class the preparation of a delicious meal. The food was excellent and we enjoyed chatting with other food lovers. What impressed me the most was how well-timed the class was, with multiple dishes coming together at the end. Jess clearly has it figured out. We will definitely be back!

Our team recently had a corporate team-building activity at Shiso Kitchen, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The entire event was incredibly fun, and we were all blown away by how amazing the food we cooked turned out to be. The real highlight of the evening was the Chef J Roy! Her energy was infectious, and she was not only super awesome and accommodating but also incredibly knowledgeable. She made the entire cooking process approachable and fun, and her positive attitude made everyone feel at ease. It was clear she was passionate about what she was doing, and that passion was contagious. The entire team had such a great time working together in a new environment. This was truly the perfect team-building activity—a unique and memorable way to bond and learn something new. I'm already planning to make some of the delicious dishes we prepared at home! We highly recommend Shiso Kitchen for any team looking for a fun and engaging activity.

Visitors can explore a variety of stores selling jewelry, clothing, souvenirs, footwear, pet products, and more. The marketplace also boasts numerous eateries where visitors can sample different cuisines.
Love this place so much, we went once on each day we were in Boston! I loved the tomato based seafood chowder at Boston and Maine Fish Company, next to Chowda. $10 for a small bowl, and buy the garlic bread for $2.50 extra, has a nice tangy crust. The Irish beer pub across the hall is cool to hangout and people-watch. Beers are $9 each. Lots of cool places to eat but watch out for the touristy trap ones.

A great place to go for lunch as a tourist in Boston! So much choice of food. Enjoyed some American Mac and Cheese! The small portion is ginormous . So delicious! Will definitely return when next in Boston. Public toilets available here too!

It's very close to downtown Boston. There are many vendors selling foods, snacks, souvenirs and also many shops with a good collection of apparel. I like the place because it's very walkable and there are artists and also street performances like you can enjoy. You can walk in the building of the market. There are three separate buildings. Each of them features different set of merchandise goods. There are children's play area inside and outside the building. Pets are welcomed.

This was on all of the Google searches for being a must see in Boston. There were so many food vendors and the building was historic and beautiful. There were areas to eat although it was pretty crowded. It was fun to look at all the different types of food available.
Jeff — Google review
I went when it was a quiet Friday evening and there wasn't much going on. The stores were warm and offered souvenirs and trinkets. The history on the wall though was fascinating. Restrooms were clean and located down the steps. There are outdoor seating benches and tables and is located next to the Samuel Adam's Tap Room. Just a couple hundred feet away is the Boston sign. So, all in all, well worth the trip! Saturday the place was swarming with people, music blasting and some break dancing was going on as others walked around and shopped.
Amy B — Google review
Great place to eat if in Boston. Many different options for food in an historic location. Only downside is that it can get VERY crowded during peak eating times and seating is limited to the center court or maybe outside. Lines for ordering can get confusing. Food we had was delicious. If coming to Boston, you have to try clam chowder at least once. Bathrooms are limited and small, and look like they haven’t been updated in at least 50 years, if not 100. That considered, they were still fairly clean. Parking is almost non-existent; I’d recommend an Uber/Lift to get there. Save yourself the headache of finding a spot. Parking garages may be in the area but cost $20+. I would go again if in the area.

Lucia Ristorante & Bar, a bustling restaurant with an old-country setting, has been serving traditional Italian dishes since 1977. The menu features cuisine inspired by more than 20 regions in Italy, including artisan pizza and modern twists on classic favorites. The restaurant's lively atmosphere and Abruzzi-themed decor create a welcoming environment for both regulars and newcomers. Additionally, Lucia Ristorante offers one of the best patio dining experiences in Boston's North End, with an outdoor courtyard at St.
I enjoyed the cranberry juice and foods there. There were so many fairly priced foods, so it took me awhile to decide what I wanted to eat. Also, the waiter, Luis P, was amazing. He did a great job at being friendly and patient with us. He also did a great job at serving the food. The day I went to this restaurant for dinner with my boyfriend was on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
Brooke J — Google review
this was a sad experience. the ambiance was very loud and chatty, it didn’t feel very enjoyable to have a nice dinner. the drinks were good, unfortunately it was the only good thing my mom and i enjoyed here. the calamari was the worst i’ve ever had, i’m not even sure how much of it was real squid. there were two real calamari, with tentacles, and the rest looked like onion rings and it was just disappointing. we asked for bread, it was cold and hard, butter was also not soft at all. the gnocchi i got lacked any flavor, it was just not good. i added parmesan, chili flakes and black pepper to mark up for it but it didn’t make much difference. my mom enjoyed the carbonara, it did have a lot of pancetta, but it lacked any creaminess. overall it was a bad experience and i wouldn’t return here
Ingrid O — Google review
We came here as a party of four and unfortunately, the experience was just okay. The food was not what I expected — it tasted more like something pre-made, almost with a plastic-like quality, rather than a freshly cooked meal. Definitely not great. Service was also slow. I first asked another waiter to send someone over to take our order, and even after that, it still took about 15–20 minutes before our server finally came. I expected more attentiveness and fresher-tasting dishes.
Marina Y — Google review
Superb food and great old Italian ambience. Service a little slow but very friendly. The home made pastas were perfect and the mushrooms on the bruschetta just right. Highlights were the trio pasta and the lemon sorbet and espresso pudding. The eggplant parm delectable:)
Gopal C — Google review
We walked around North end of Boston and prelisted this as a place to eat. Luckily their patio was empty and we got a place to sit immediately. The service was prompt, impeccable and timely. The food in the pictures was absolutely delicious. We shared the dishes between the five of us as we had stuffed ourselves with some desserts from Mike's Pastries and Modern Pastries. Also had a late brunch at Better Bagles prior to our Uber trip to the north end. Parking would be a huge challenge. Lots of delivery trucks double park and traffic moving thru is a pain. But the street keeps moving and no one honks.
Rajul P — Google review
Dinner at Ristorante Lucia's was a definite winner for our family. And if you ate ever in Boston, find your way there. From appetizers to main entrees, it was fresh and so good. We ate al fresco since we were hungry and didnt want to wait for something inside to open up.
Isabelle M — Google review
A cute patio in Little Italy was a nice place to have lunch. Service was a little slow and inconsistent. The complimentary bread was delicious but ours only came with butter, not oil like the table across from us. We didn’t see much of the server so we didn’t get a chance to ask. The calamari was lightly breaded and perfectly cooked, paired with a spicy red sauce. The caprese wasn’t what we’re used to seeing, served with a round ball of mozzarella, thickly cut tomatoes and not much basil or balsamic but it was still tasty. Pappardelle Bolognese pasta was fresh and had a nice chew and the sauce was good. Brigante de Penne was ok. It was strange that there was some cheese included somewhere in the pastas because it wasn’t listed but showed up on the end of your fork. Wine, sangria and beer only on the patio but inside was a full bar. There is a $15 minimum per person and a split charge to share entrees. Bathroom is in the basement.
Christol S — Google review
Absolutely do not recommend this place. To start I don’t think we had a server the entire time we were there. Five different people served us–they were kind but kept saying I’m not your server. We decided to only get drinks when we noticed people around us making faces at their food and everything did not look good. When we said we only wanted drinks they said we needed to order food and spend $15 each minimum. We reluctantly got the bruschetta which was so bland, they didn’t even put salt and pepper. Bread was cold and soft. Starter bread was also slightly stale and cold and they gave butter and no oil for dipping. Would definitely not recommend this place.

Customers can also enjoy sandwiches, salads, and bakery items made with locally sourced ingredients. The cafe provides options for non-dairy drinks such as almond milk and oat milk, catering to different dietary needs.
This place is busy! But well worth the wait, which wasn't terribly long because the staff keeps it moving, like wow. I was impressed by how many orders were just coming out so quickly. The sticky bun is pleasantly delicious! I ordered the salmon bun and the tried the tomato basil soup. Others had the chicken sandwich and spinach pastry- which were all praised. The matcha and the Chai is good too! It's a cute and yummy spot to visit for sure!!!

Got a latte, Midnight Chocolate Cake, and Banana Bread. Quite mediocre in taste. Cake and banana bread felt like they were taken out of a generic Costco/Walmart shelf (too sweet, too generic in taste/texture). Latte was made with almond milk but quite sweet. Would only recommend if you need indoor/outdoor seat while near South End. Otherwise, for food/drinks, would look elsewhere.

The Harvard Art Museums, the oldest museum at Harvard University, is a combination of the Busch-Reisinger, Fogg, and Arthur M. Sackler Museums. Renzo Piano's design brought these museums together under one roof in 2014. The museum showcases a vast collection of over 250,000 pieces of European and American art from the Middle Ages to contemporary times.
🎨Review: Harvard Art Museums🎨 ⭐️Overall Rating: 9.7/10⭐️ The Harvard Art Museums are a must-visit cultural destination in Cambridge, offering free admission and a well-organized experience despite steady visitor traffic. The galleries are thoughtfully laid out, allowing guests to move through the exhibits with ease and appreciation. On-site amenities enhance the experience. The museum café offers reasonably priced food and beverages, with ample seating to relax or plan your next stop. Additional conveniences include clean and well-maintained restrooms, complimentary lockers for personal items, and water bottle refilling stations—details that reflect the museum’s attention to visitor comfort. Each artwork is accompanied by informative descriptions that provide valuable historical context, enriching the educational aspect of the visit. A small yet curated gift shop rounds out the experience and is well worth exploring. Overall, the Harvard Art Museums combine world-class art with practical amenities, making them an excellent and accessible destination for both locals and tourists.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit after a nice casual stroll through campus. Easy flow to follow for each floor. Not crowded which gives you plenty of time to view each piece of your choosing with graceful time. IMO a top 10 attraction of Boston for art and culture. Recommended with enthusiasm.
Robert S — Google review
The Harvard Art Museums (comprised of the Fogg, Busch-Reisinger, and Arthur M. Sackler Museums) are an absolute must-visit for any art enthusiast traveling through Cambridge. Housed in a single, elegantly designed building, the museum offers a truly comprehensive journey across continents and centuries, all easily explored across its three impressive floors of gallery space. What immediately stands out is the sheer volume and diversity of the collection. Visitors can seamlessly transition from masterpieces of European Impressionism and Post-Impressionism (including notable works by Monet and Van Gogh) to compelling contemporary installations and significant works from Asia and North Africa. Every floor introduces a new focus, ensuring a dynamic and enriching experience for all tastes. For our group, the undisputed highlight was the Ancient Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Art collection, particularly the magnificent display of Greek art found on the upper floors. The museum’s holdings in this area are world-class, encompassing a vast array of sculptures, coins, and, most notably, a breathtaking selection of painted pottery. We were thoroughly impressed by the depth of this section, which showcases everything from early Greek marble figures to meticulously decorated red-figure and black-figure vases depicting mythological scenes and ancient daily life. The curators have done a superb job organizing this material, providing a rare and valuable glimpse into the foundational history of Western civilization. The combination of the museum’s comprehensive global scope and the exceptional quality of its ancient collection makes it an essential destination. Whether you're drawn to Renaissance masters or the enduring legacy of the Hellenic world, the Harvard Art Museums promise a visually stunning and intellectually satisfying visit. Free for all!
Allison L — Google review
One of the most impressive and refreshing things about the Harvard Art Museums is that some of them are free and open to the public. In a world where admission fees can be a barrier, it’s genuinely inspiring to see an institution choosing to open its doors for people to learn, explore, and experience art without restriction. The space itself is beautifully curated—classic yet modern—and filled with pieces that span centuries and cultures. It’s a manageable size too, so you’re not overwhelmed, but still walk away feeling enriched. One personal highlight: I had just read a post online about the ballerina sculpture, and then, completely by coincidence, saw it in person a few days later. There’s something really special about stumbling across a piece you’ve only seen on a screen—it hits differently. That moment stayed with me. The museum experience is peaceful, thoughtful, and genuinely educational. Whether you’re deeply into art or just curious, it’s worth stopping by if you’re in Cambridge. I love that Harvard has created a space that feels welcoming, not intimidating. This isn’t just for students or scholars—it’s for everyone. And that makes it even more memorable.
Hima R — Google review
An absolute gem of a museum! Free admission for everyone (not sure if this is true always or just on the day I happened to go), and just a few small stories that can be explored within a single day. The collection was well-curated and easy to navigate, with informative descriptions of each piece. There is something for everyone here. The gift shop is cute and has a good selection of post cards, too!
Znookworm Z — Google review
This museum is fantastic, and much bigger than expected. I highly recommend it if anyone is visiting Boston. You can easily spend 3+ hours seeing it all, so plan accordingly. The only negative is we had to drop somebody off at the curb to go inside for a $23 parking permit before we could use the 52 Oxford St. parking garage, even though there is a person at the booth to get into the garage. Why couldn’t we just purchase it right there?
Sean M — Google review
What a beautifully curated and wonderfully kept and updated gem of a museum!!!!!? Some incredibly rare works of art here and how lucky are we that access to all the galleries is absolutely free every single day?!?? Exhibits change and you’re constantly falling in love with artists over and over again because you see so many facets of their artists careers just by exploring the galleries here. Ever changing while the rotate their collections and allow works to rest. Fantastic gift shop that has upscale souvenirs that have extreme sentiment and value uniquely exclusive to the museum one of the best museums I have been to.

Massimino's is a cozy Italian-American restaurant in Boston's North End, offering a familial atmosphere and rustic surroundings. A local recommended it to a group looking for lunch, and they were not disappointed. The friendly waiter enhanced their dining experience as they enjoyed delicious food from seafood specials to pasta and meatballs. The impeccable service and welcoming hosts made the visit memorable, with one diner noting that it was better than other restaurants in the area.
This has been my favorite place in the north end for many years. It was a busy Friday night and we didn’t have a reservation, but were lucky enough to score two seats at the bar downstairs. We enjoyed Clams Casino and Artichoke Margarita for appetizers . Our main dishes were Escarole Fagioli and the Shrimp Margarita. Everything was absolutely delicious! Our bartender/server Marysa was so much fun to talk to as well as delivering impeccable service. They offer a wonderful wine selection and full bar. Lots of North End energy in the atmosphere. Thanks for a great night!

Anais provided exceptional service to us even hand picked me some chili peppers 🌶️ from out front because I asked to try them. She didn’t have to do that but it pleased me that she did. Atmosphere was pretty good, felt old school and rustic which was good feeling. Food wasn’t that great however, the food was a pretty small portion size for the price, the sauce carried this place to a 3 star food rating from me but I wouldn’t return, unless it was for more of Anais’s peppers.

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at Massimino’s last night. The food was absolutely incredible, and the atmosphere was perfect. The highlight of our evening was the exceptional service we received from Bianca. She was so knowledgeable, kind, and made us feel genuinely welcome. We can’t wait to come back soon — especially to see her again!

Salumeria Italiana is a charming Italian grocery store located in the North End of Boston, near Paul Revere's house. Despite its display of gluten-filled bread, the store offers a variety of authentic Italian products such as cheese, olives, tomato sauce, pasta, and packaged foods imported directly from Italy. Visitors can enjoy high-quality meats and cheeses served by friendly and knowledgeable staff. The shop also offers delicious sandwiches at great prices and boasts an incredible selection of Italian imports.
We stumbled upon Salumeria Italiana while just walking past in Boston’s North End on our way to the airport, and decided to grab a quick bite. We walked in and waited in line to order a sandwich for the road. This longstanding spot (open since 1962) feels like a true slice of Italy in the city, and it was the perfect pre-flight fuel. ATMOSPHERE: This cozy, corner-store vibe is spot-on for a classic Italian deli in Boston’s historic North End think narrow aisles packed with shelves of gourmet goods, glass cases displaying fresh cheeses and salumi, and a bustling, no-frills setup that seats maybe a handful at a small counter if you’re lucky (though it’s mostly takeout). The decor is simple and authentic, with that old-world charm: tiled floors, product displays everywhere, and the aroma of cured meats and olive oils filling the air. It’s compact (fitting 10-15 people comfortably), with a casual, neighborhood feel that’s lively during lunch rushes but never overwhelming. Perfect for a quick stop in Little Italy. MENU: The focus is on high-quality Italian imports like salumi (cured meats), cheeses, olive oils, vinegars, pastas, tomatoes and sauces, olives, rice, grains, pantry staples, and desserts. They also shine with made-to-order panini sandwiches around $12-13, including classics like La Donna (prosciutto, mozzarella, tomato, basil), the Original (mixed meats, provolone, muffaletta spread), and heartier options like porchetta or tuna. Add-ons like olives or spreads round it out no full meals, but ideal for gourmet grab-and-go. FOOD: Panino alla Porchetta At $12.99, this was an absolute steal and the star of our quick visit. Tender, herb-roasted pork (porchetta) sliced thin and piled high on fresh, crusty bread with just the right amount of seasoning juicy, flavorful, and not overly greasy, with that perfect balance of crispy skin and melt-in-your-mouth meat. It held up great for travel, staying fresh and satisfying without falling apart. An amazing sammie that rivals the best we’ve had in Italy; if you’re a fan of authentic Italian flavors, this is a must-try and easily one of Boston’s top sandwiches. SERVICE: Minimal wait, and we were helped right away on a weekday. The staff were great super friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable about their products, whipping up our sandwich in minutes with a smile. TIPS: No seating inside, so plan for takeout great for picnics, flights, or eating on the go. Parking in the North End can be tricky (street only, often crowded), so walk, use public transit, or rideshare if possible. They’re open Monday-Saturday from 9am-6pm (closed Sundays), and items can sell out, so go early for the freshest selection. Customize your sandwich with add-ons like hot peppers or vinegar for extra kick, and browse the shelves for take-home treats. OVERALL: Was it worth the stop? Absolutely. Salumeria Italiana delivers authentic Italian deli excellence with standout sandwiches and a genuine North End vibe that’s pure Boston charm. We’ll be back for more porchetta next time we’re in town.

Great sandwich spot in the North end! Grab so bread and some authentic oil! Remember if ain't green it's not real! Octopus salad and sheep's milk cheese are to die for. A food tasting tour stopped in and made the store little crowded but it just made me want to join the tour next time!! This a classic shop that's been around since 1961.

I was there earlier today where I got an Italian sub for $11.62. That’s a fantastic deal. The inside of the restaurant looks beautiful. The bread was nice and crusty.

This place is awesome! Great authentic Italian vibes and worth a stop to grab some meat and cheese for a picnic. Salumeria Italiana was recommended for the sandwiches by my brother-in-law. It is a tiny Italian cured meat and cheese shop and market with a little deli counter in the back corner to order sandwiches. We had the La Donna sammie -- it was HUGE and priced right for a great value; we shared it and it was more than enough food for two. The meat and balsamic on it were delicious! It was a little bread heavy as far as ratio of bread to filling, but I'm not mad about it. The staff were all very friendly and patient with customers who didn't know what they wanted to order. We also tried an olive salad from the deli and it was delicious as well!

The best prosciutto that I've ever had! Great little shop for Italian deli meats and sundries. Came home with the wonderful balsamic that we tried on the North End Food Tour with Bobby.

The Elephant Walk South End offers a unique blend of French and Cambodian cuisine in a charming wood-and-brick setting. Founded by a former diplomat with experiences in Cambodia, France, and beyond, the restaurant also hosts cooking classes that cover Cambodian, French, and fusion cooking as well as vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free dishes. It's known for its innovative menus and cozy ambiance. Additionally, it is recommended alongside other dining spots like Hamersley's Bistro for Sunday brunch in Boston.
We went here for dine out Boston and the place was absolutely amazing. Our server was friendly, funny and check on us often. We got a variety of dishes from the lamb curry, caramelized pork to the coconut milk custard and poached pair. Everything was very flavorful and all main dishes had a side of rice with was very filling. A great selection of non- alcoholic drinks that is uncommon around the area. A must try for Cambodian cuisine.

The Elephant Walk is a hidden gem! We went during Dine-Out Boston week, and ordered a mix between items on that menu and other things from the main menu. Every item we ordered was amazing-fresh tasting, great flavors, spices not overpowering. The selection of gluten free menu items is great also. While I am not gluten free, my daughter is and often times she is relegated to a salad or bland tasting items. Not the case at The Elephant Walk, where she had her choice of many items on the menu, all excellently prepared.

The best food I’ve had in a while. We ordered the rouleaux to start (made them vegetarian) - couldn’t believe what I was tasting. Unbelievable crunch + sauce + freshness from the herbs. Felt fancy so ordered the branzino (specials menu) and wow. Felt like I was a queen.

What a pleasant surprise! Food was wonderful across the board. Desserts and coffee were great as well. Service was snappy and friendly. This restaurant was a very nice change of pace from all the other restaurants in the area, definitely worth a visit! So tasty I forgot to snap photos.

Ordered the Boston Dine-out menu, entire course is ridiculously delicious! There are so many great options. Kuros to Wayne, the one and only super hero managed entire floor thyself, who still managed to deliver 5 star service. Love the unique fusion cuisine & vibe, relaxed, cozy, romantic, and fun. Thoughtful decor as well!

We enjoyed a nice lunch at Elephant Walk in the South End. We had the Loc Lac, Duck Kari Tieh, and both dishes were excellent — the duck was especially impressive: super soft, tender, and full of flavor, cooked perfectly. The meat overall was moist and well-prepared. For drinks, we tried the Lychee Lemonade and the E Walk Punch — both were decent but a bit too sweet for my taste. Service was professional and efficient. Our server wasn’t particularly chatty, but he handled everything smoothly and got the job done. Overall, a great spot for well-executed Cambodian and French-inspired dishes, especially if you appreciate perfectly cooked meats.

Cafe
Sofra Bakery & Cafe is a cozy bakery known for its Middle Eastern sweets and savory bites, offering a small patio for outdoor seating. It's a popular spot in Boston, drawing in locals and visitors alike with its delectable pastries like pistachio rosewater croissants and bittersweet chocolate tahini tarts. The establishment also serves up savory specialties such as shawarma sandwiches and baked feta adorned with rhubarb.
This place was recommended and after receiving a gift card I went with my mother to check this place out. While pricey, if you’re willing to cough up some cash it is well worth the money for the quality you will get from this food. We had ordered the Turkish style breakfast which had a soft boiled egg wrapped in an ingredient I do not know the name of but it added crunch and mild sweetness to it. There were cucumbers, olives, tomato that was mashed and sweet yogurt which was topped with seasonal spoon sweets. You can refer to the image but this was one of my favorite things with the blend of refreshing vegetables that were light and paired with sweet creamy substances. It was filling yet not overbearing. Geno’s egg sandwich was worth the getting my hands messy as the egg was cooked just enough that the yolk broke upon first bite adding extra flavor that brought out the halloumi cheese and tomato concasse. The granola bowl was another favorite being served in Egyptian carrot jam and labne that made it stand out compared to other granola bowls. We had purchased the Turkish coffee which we felt was decent but not as good as Andala coffee houses especially when comparing price and value. The desserts were the date almond ma’amoul and chocolate tahini tart. The tart was smooth, rich and not overly sweet compared to the breakfast Items which was a nice change. Lastly, the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The music was middle eastern and not so loud that you could not have a conversation.

Wow the flavors here are so fresh and unique!! When we entered, I was skeptical, but the food was so good and like nothing I've tasted - admittedly I don't eat at meze places super often. The chicken wings (date molasses bbq and lemon herb on top) were SO good, the flatbread and shawarma tasted different from any other place bcus of the filling. The shakshuka came with pesto which was jnteresting. Highly recommended. There's not a lot of seating and it's a free for all so don't come with a group expecting to sit.

I love Sofra! I grab lunch to take home all the time and when I can get a seat inside for breakfast I love to sit by the window! Pastries are amazing, the morning bun latte is my go to, and all of their mezze options are fab!

DAVE'S FRESH PASTA is a charming specialty food store located in Davis Square, Somerville. Since 1995, it has been a beloved spot for locals and visitors seeking high-quality gourmet groceries. The store offers an array of fresh pasta made in-house daily using the finest ingredients, along with homemade sauces, imported olives, and other specialty items sourced from New England.
This is THE place to go. We’ve done several cooking classes here — you might think you can only go to the north end for good Italian food, but you really need to just come here. Chef Jason and team have created cooking series that truly make cooking good food feel possible at home. Chef Jason’s Italian roots and homegrown boston perspective make for the perfect teacher! Every class we leave feeling not only full from delicious food but full on new ways to make pasta, pizza, and more! Each time too I’ve left with a new favorite wine — every class is stocked with a great wine selection, delicious snacks, all on top of the food you learn to make. The community built within Dave’s is one like no other — it’s cozy, homey, and truly authentic to them. You’ll know exactly why your food is being the made the way it is, all under the careful and fun instruction of your teacher. After class be sure to stop in the store for hand picked pantry items that are bound to become staples, or stop for dinner at Semolina Kitchen for one of the best meals you’ll have in the Boston area. We will be coming back and bringing friends!!

Came in to pick up a particular bottle of wine for a Client back in California. Then I saw all of the wonderful fresh Pasta hanging over the counter and I thought HA! Bolognese sounds good for tonight. So I bought the wine, some fresh pasta, and some sauce. This place is fabulous! The desserts looked tempting as well. Anyone who knows me is aware that I have a soft spot for delis that offer delicious prepared foods as well as an extensive gourmet market area. The service was patient over the phone and helpful in person. I will be back! Respectfully Reviewed.

We had the best time at a cooking class with Chef Jason! The perfect size class, relaxed vibes, and a lot of fun! You get to enjoy snacks and wine while mingling and having fun. Such a fun, fabulous, friendly place! I had not been to DFP in several years, decided to journey there seeking some fresh seasonal pasta. Like the proverbial child in a candy store, I was enthralled by all of the fare options, including amazing sandwiches (chose the fig and prosciutto among so many tantalizing choices), desserts, (a must-try is the Portokalopita, an out-of-this-world cardamom confection-staff told me people come here just for this delicacy), unusual wines, so much more. What pulls it all together into a rare and wonderful overall experience is the exceptional customer service. To a person, everyone working there was so kind and helpful. Going to Dave’s Fresh Pasta today was one of my best adult field trips ever!

Milk Street Cafe is a long-standing kosher restaurant in Boston, serving breakfast and lunch options suitable for various dietary restrictions. Since its opening in 1981, it has been a favorite among diners, offering regional and international menu items such as the famous Chocolate Majesty cake and Rockport Salad. The cafe also features fish and vegetarian sushi rolls along with daily specials. In addition to its food offerings, Milk Street Cafe's Harvard Square location is known for its signature Cereal Milk soft serve ice cream.
We spent a week visiting Boston recently and this restaurant was amazing!!! For anyone who eats kosher it is a godsend. It's right in the middle of the city, so the location is super convenient, and they have both a dairy section and a meat section. However, even if you do not specifically eat kosher, the food is so good (especially the pulled brisket 😋) it's worth a visit. Furthermore, the owner and all of the employees were a delight! Highly recommend! A gem in the heart of Boston!

Chef Irene Li, a multiple-time James Beard Rising Star award nominee, has been reshaping Boston's dining scene since launching this Chinese-American food operation with her siblings as a food truck 10 years ago.
Had such a fun time at the Mei Mei Dumplings dumpling cooking class! The demo was super thorough and Phoenix and Gabby were great. We learned several different dumpling folds and then jumped in, learning the best way to steam and pan sear them. They were delicious! Mei Mei’s also offer wine, beer, and sake during class for purchase. Super fun idea for a date night or night out with friends. Highly recommend!

The Westin Copley Place, Boston is an elegant accommodation option offering meeting facilities and a fitness center. With 803 rooms starting from the eighth floor, guests can enjoy stunning views of various Boston landmarks such as the Charles River, Boston Harbor, Prudential Tower, and Fenway Park. Conveniently located near subway lines and within walking distance of popular attractions like Newbury Street and the Public Garden, this hotel provides easy access to city exploration.
This hotel is closely located to the shops and restaurants of the Copley Place Mall and the Back Bay neighborhood. The rooms are sizable and the views are incredible. I was on the 18th floor and had really nice views of the water. It was one of the more luxurious places I stayed and I would definitely stay again. The hotel also has a small coffee shop/convenient store that serves starbucks, a hotel called bar10, and a 24 hour gym.
Megan B — Google review
I stay here while on work trips often several times a month. The hotel is clean and centrally located. Elevators get crowded when there is a convention. I would like the gym to have dumbbells up to 75 lbs like other hotels of similar size. Westin beds are comfortable. The highlight for me is the lounge is well staffed and Irene always remembers me- I wish more Bonvoy employees were like her.
Chris P — Google review
I wouldn't stay here again. At check-in the hotel adds a previously undisclosed $30-$35 daily "destination charge.". They offer to credit back $20 per day if you eat in one of their establishments. Bar 10 is one such option. We went there for breakfast. The $9 coffee was served lukewarm. After sitting for 45 minutes without our meal, a coffee refill, or even a glass of water we left. They apologized for the poor service and didn't charge for the coffee. Next we went to the hotel concierge to request assistance with dinner reservations. We gave the concierge the name of the restaurant and a window of times. By late afternoon we had not received a call back from the concierge regarding our reservation. When we called the restaurant, we discovered that the reservation was outside our requested time window. We rebooked the reservation ourselves at a time that was within the earliest and latest times we gave to the concierge. This hotel is not at all customer or service oriented. For the price, you can do better looking elsewhere.

Great stay for our business trip. Room was very spacious. Very friendly staff. Hotel location was great as you're right next to Copley Square, Boston Public Library, as well as transit stations and stops. Definitely more of a commercial/business oriented hotel (i.e. doesn't really have character inside or out). Rooms could maybe use an occasional extra attention clean, especially on surfaces that are right near eyeline (just considering the rates they ask). Still a place I'd definitely stay again for business.
Brandon H — Google review
Pros; Excellent location! Clean room, comfortable bed. Relatively clean bathroom. Easy/fast getting car for outings. Hospitable employees. Cons; No fan in bathroom, making for a steamy and (potentially) stinky mess. Exceptionally poor room service. Needed breakfast for 7am, chose the 6:45-7:00am delivery time. Food showed up at 6:30 am in a paper bag, ice cold. My $10 latte was half-filled (literally) and cold. Unable to get through to room service, front desk assuring she would "follow up and take care of it". I would have settled for a full and at least warm latte, and forgone the rest. No one got back to me and most of the bag of food was discarded. Of course it was very expensive, as is expected with room service. There was only 1 chair for a nice-sized breakfast table, in a room with 2 queen beds.
Karin — Google review
We had a very good experience staying here. Service was excellent. Valet service was very quick and friendly. All of the employees were helpful and very nice. The gym was really big and well equipped for a hotel gym. The location was excellent. Lots to do real close. Definitely would recommend staying here
Thomas U — Google review
The staff are great and the location is perfect, if you want to be on this side of the city. The rooms are not at all accurate for what the Westin is selling. They say there's a coffee maker in the room, there's not. They say there's a fridge in the room, there's not. I'm fine if a hotel doesn't have them, but don't lie about it! Look for another hotel if you want a pool or spa services. It's a solid 3 star hotel.

Excellent Staff, But Blackout Curtains Need Fixing I stayed at the Westin Copley Place for three nights during a conference in November 2025. At $299 per night plus taxes, a three-night stay came to $1044. The Good: 1) The staff were excellent throughout my stay. When I requested a late checkout, they accommodated me until 1 p.m. without hesitation, which was incredibly helpful. I also forgot my shaving cream and toothpaste, and the front desk was able to provide both items. Likewise, I had a friend of mine come and pick up a gift meant for him when I was attending the conference. The concierge made it possible for the hand over to happen smoothly. 2) The room itself was spotless and in great condition—housekeeping clearly takes pride in their work. 3) Quality of food: The food that was provided during the two evening receptions was fairly good and the wait staff who were at the event were courteous. The Not-So-Good: 1) The blackout curtains were my biggest frustration. Light bleeds in through the sides, and I was woken up early on both my first and second mornings. On the final day, I ended up barricading the curtains with the trash can and my bookbag just to keep them fully closed. For a hotel at this price point, adding velcro straps to properly seal these curtains would be a simple fix that would make a huge difference to a light sleeper like me. 2) The elevators were painfully slow—I regularly waited 3-4 minutes, which became tiresome when trying to get to conference sessions on time. 3) Last but not least, the complimentary shaving cream packets were nearly impossible to tear open. Switching to shave gel would be a nice touch. While not every guest will need it, those who do would really appreciate something better than the hard-to-open packets. Overall, the Westin Copley Place has attentive staff and clean accommodations, but some operational improvements would make it even more worthy of its premium pricing.

Supermarket
Wegmans, located in Chestnut Hill just outside of Boston, is renowned as one of the top grocery stores in the United States. Customers praise its fresh fruit selection and high-quality produce like eggs and milk. The store stands out for its exceptional customer service, with staff always willing to assist shoppers. While it can get busy, customers appreciate the delicious bakery items such as pizza and cupcakes.
As someone from the birth place of Wegmans in Rochester NY it was such a welcome surprise to see Massachusetts was lucky enough to get a Wegmans. Please go check out this amazing supermarket. Friendliest staff, best selection of fresh daily food bar and salad bar. Their subs, sushi and bakery selection is everything. I love the brown color of the store. They have really good flower arrangements. Cons: Pricey

This review is about the deli employee whose name is Karolyn or something similar. She is not good at her job. I got a pound of cheese and it’s a complete mess. I can’t pull off a single piece of cheese. It’s all messed up

For the first time I pre ordered a very large birthday cake (to feed 80 people plus). It was for my grandmothers 92nd birthday! I was able to do everything online! I came in early and to my surprise the cake was also ready early! Great service & great cake. Got a white sheet cake with buttercream frosting

This is a very big grocery store, I spent really long time inside the store to shop foods and fruits. They have a huge amount of selection.
Grace F — Google review
It’s a wonderful grocery store, full of different parts to catch what you want. Bakery, cheese, fish, fruits, vegetables, wines, flowers, etc. All the time we visited the goods were so fresh. The prices are well comparable with other shops with the good quality of food you are buying. I can compare it easily with Tj-max and Whole-food food quality. It’s a great place anytime I want to buy flowers. Get to become my resorts.

We recently moved to Massachusetts and a friend recommended Wegmans in Medford— we don’t have a car so I only use their online app, and I love their selection, especially of Organic products, which I find more extensive and less expensive than Whole Foods’. A few days ago, I placed an order and there was a glitch of some kind, and for some reason that no one can understand, we ended up receiving 96 mozzarellas instead of the 1 that I ordered😱. Anyway, I dealt with several customer service people, locally and at Wegmans HQ, and I felt they really went out of their way to find a fair solution instead of hiding behind some corporate policies and excuses, so I wanted to post this good review to give them full credit for their professional and gracious customer service, both locally and at the national level. I will be continuing to recommend this chain highly, even more so now that their reputation for good customer service has been put to the test and passed with flying colors.

Love coming here and have never had issues at any locations. Tonight was a bit frustrating because the checker didn’t load a bag into the cart and I didn’t realize till I got home. I called customer service and the gentleman asked me for the register number. I asked where it was on the receipt and he said the bottom. I’m not sure if he realizes that there is no text on the receipt that’s titled “register #”. He finally told me after I asked 3x how I could find it and said it’s after the “134”. Just SAY THAT from the beginning. How would anyone know that? I ran back to grab my bag and he asked what was missing because someone else’s bag was left, too. So a re-occurring issue. It bothered me that customer service kept saying “no worries” - as if I was the one who left it. The checker didn’t load it. I wasn’t bagging my own groceries. Cust serv said “no worries” 4 times and it drove me crazy cuz this was an inconvenience to me, not him. When I got home and unloaded my bag I saw the checker put my bread on the bottom of the bag with 16 items. So thank you for making me run back to the store and ruining my bread. Seems common sense not to load bread on the bottom of a heavy bag.

Situated in Kenmore Square, the hotel is a part of the neighborhood's vibrant atmosphere and features three top-notch restaurants on-site. With 149 rooms near Fenway Park, it caters to both upscale travelers and those seeking comfortable standard rooms. The hotel's proximity to Boston University and Fenway Park makes it an ideal choice for visitors looking to explore the city's attractions.
Beautiful hotel. We stayed in the baseball suite which was HUGE and unique. I called the day before and had the pleasure of speaking with Chris who wrote my boyfriend a personalized birthday note and left us cupcakes. A huge thank you to pulling that off for us. Bed was comfortable and hotel was clean. Would stay again if back in Boston.

This is genuinely the nicest hotel we’ve ever stayed at. We stayed 9/15-9/16, we told them we were bringing a baby, and not only did they set up a very nice quality crib, they also included a baby blanket, a bear and organic/gentle soaps and lotions for her. The valet staff was so friendly and fast getting our car (including at 4 am). The bar was also excellent, and the check in staff were extremely friendly as well. Also, the food we ordered up to our room was the best food we had on our trip to Boston. We will never stay anywhere else!
Hannah V — Google review
We picked this hotel simply because it was the closest to Fenway, where a concert we were attending was being held. We didn’t expect much, but we were SO wrong. Extremely clean room, super cold, and everything you’d need. But that wasn’t the best part. The hospitality was out of this world. Nick at the front desk was amazing at telling us everything about the hotel, even offered to switch our room depending on what view we preferred. Jeff and Frankie — incredible door guys. Enjoyed catching up with them while the wife got ready and they always had superb recommendation. 10/10 hotel, will definitely be returning. Our stay was 10/1-10/4. Room 422.

This location can not be beat if you are heading to Fenway Park, MGM Music Hall or any of the bars near Lansdowne. Quick walk over the Bridge, extremely clean and very friendly staff. Room service was quick. The downstairs bar had great drinks and a very fresh raw bar. They take your car at valet for i believe $75 for the night. Will stay here again next time we are in town.

We stayed at Hotel Commonwealth for our anniversary weekend after a friend recommended it, and we’re really glad we did. The hotel is beautiful inside and out, and the lobby has a great first impression. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. At check-in, they gave us a refillable metal water bottle, which was really handy while exploring the city. The concierge staff were also quick to help with little things like bringing up ice (since there aren’t ice machines on the floors) or letting us know they’d send up small appliances if we needed them. We had a corner room with a bay-window seat, and the view was fantastic. The room itself was spacious, very clean, and well kept. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and the hotel provides cozy robes and slippers, which made it feel extra relaxing. Having a in room mini fridge was a nice bonus as well. The hotel doesn’t have its “own” bar, but there are two great restaurants attached: Row34: Amazing seafood and cocktails. We had dinner there one night and went back for drinks on another. Blue Ribbon Sushi: Excellent sushi and definitely worth a visit. There are also plenty of other restaurants within walking distance, so you won’t run out of options. The location is hard to beat. Fenway Park is just a 5–10 minute walk over the bridge, and Boston University is right around the corner. We also walked to Newbury Street and Back Bay in about 20 minutes… it’s flat, easy, and the architecture along the way makes it enjoyable. Public transportation is right at the hotel too, with the Kenmore Green Line station underneath and a bus stop out front. The only flaw I’d like to note are: Parking is pricey at $75 a night. We didn’t have a car, but that could add up fast. There’s no pool, spa, or rooftop bar/lounge. Overall, the hotel is comfortable, stylish, and in a great spot for exploring Boston. The service and dining options really stood out, and even though a few amenities are missing, we had a great time and would absolutely stay here again.

The rooms were comfortable and clean. The beds and pillows were the perfect firmness. They provide refillable water bottles upon check in and have refill stations available. The Concierge team was all amazing and gave great recommendations.

We reserved an exec suite, room 426! The room number specifically is important to note because while the room was beautiful, the only part that was air conditioned was the living room - the bedroom did not get any air flow at all. Maintenance came up and shrugged and was like “poorly designed room, the other ones aren’t like this”… unfortunately the hotel was otherwise sold out, they wouldn’t refund us, and we drove home at 2am. Which is such a shame because it really was a lovely room in a great location, but the thermostat was 73 and rising. No thanks! 👎🏻

We chose the hotel due to being close to Fenway Park as we were watching a Red Sox game. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable and the staff were lovely - our exective suite was huge and loved the attention to detail with the baseball stitiching in the soft furnishings.

The Sudbury is a top-notch residential building located in the heart of Boston. The professional management team, including Becca and Robin, ensures a smooth move-in process and provides an excellent orientation to the building's amenities such as the gym, sky lounge, pool, and conference room. The location is unbeatable with easy access to public transportation and nearby attractions like the North End. Residents rave about the breathtaking views from their apartments and praise the friendly community within the building.
Moving to a new city can be overwhelming, but thanks to the incredible team at The Sudbury, our transition to Boston was not just seamless, but also reassuring and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, the professionalism and warmth of the Greystar management team were evident in every interaction, giving us the confidence that we had made the right choice. The concierge staff at The Sudbury are not just courteous and responsive, they are exceptional. Their consistent efforts to go above and beyond to assist residents, whether it’s receiving packages, arranging access for guests, or simply greeting us with a smile, make us feel valued and important. Their attention to detail and commitment to service set the tone for a truly elevated living experience. A special shout-out is well deserved for Jay Bush, the Service Manager and Building Engineer. Jay's personal touch and genuine care for residents make us feel not just at home, but part of a close-knit community. His deep knowledge of the building, coupled with his dedication to addressing service requests promptly and ensuring the building runs smoothly, is rare to find and greatly appreciated. Living at The Sudbury is more than just enjoying a beautiful apartment and unbeatable location. It’s about being part of a community thoughtfully managed by people who genuinely care. We’re grateful to call this place home!

I had the pleasure of bringing my smoothie catering service to the Luxury Leasing Office at Sudbury Apartments in Boston, and the experience was absolutely lovely! From the moment we arrived, the energy was vibrant and welcoming. The residents were so receptive and engaging—it was a joy to serve them. The space itself was stunning—clean, beautifully designed, and perfect for hosting. But what truly made the event seamless was the incredible support from Maray and Rachel. A huge thank you to both of them for their attentiveness and detailed coordination throughout. They checked on us consistently and ensured we had everything we needed to serve the residents with ease. Thank you again to the Sudbury team for having us!

I moved into The Sudbury with my partner in early May. Right from the start, we were impressed by how professional things were. Becca, the assistant general manager, gave us a great introductory tour showing us all the great things that The Sudbury has to offer, from the on-site gym, to the other amenities, the sky lounge, pool, and conference room. From there, we met with Robin, the Director of Resident Experience, who showed us our new place and gave us our keys and did a great orientation with us. The concierge team is very friendly as well! The location is wonderful (near the T, great shopping, and the TD Garden), the appliances are great, and our neighbors have been friendly. The view is stunning as well! This is a great place to live! Every day feels like a vacation!

We live here and the building is brand new and the amenities are amazing. They have events all the time too — there’s been wine tastings and trivia nights and we just had an awesome time at a comedy show with Four Corners Entertainment. Definitely recommend!

My husband and I moved into The Sudbury in July. We are very happy with our decision. The location is perfect for us. The views from our apartment are spectacular! The Sudbury's amenities are terrific (fitness center, pet spa, children's room, pool tables, outdoor balconies etc.) and the custodial staff keeps them very clean. The maintenance staff is very responsive and professional. The Leasing Team is helpful, patient and knowledgable - kudos to Katie, Becca & Abby. The Sudbury even has a dedicated Director of Resident Experience who sets up social events - kudos to Robin! There was even a gift waiting for us on move-in day!

I moved here a few weeks ago and this place is absolutely amazing! I totally love it here. The management helped a lot with the move in process which made the transition much easier for me. And amenities in the building are great and well maintained. The stuff are very welcoming and willing to help with every little problem. Our apartment is beautiful and located on the 23rd floor of the building with a breathtaking view of the city. The location of the place is great in the center of Boston which makes it an easier commute to many places. All the appliances in the kitchen are brand new and the stuff respond quickly to every problem/question we have. I don't have enough words to describe my emotions, all I can say I'm living the dream.
OLGA G — Google review
I have been enjoyed staying here for almost an year! The Sudbury is a great and welcoming place for both individuals and lovely dogs/pets. Not to mention that the location is a 10/10: < 1 mins walk to T stations (green/orange/blue lines), 5-10 mins Uber ride to the Airport, 10 mins walk to downtown Boston, and hundreds of restaurants nearby. The amenities spaces are clean, spacious, and very easy to make reservations for if needed. I’d recommend scheduling a tour with the leasing office if anyone is interested; the leasing office is very responsive and responsible! A couple of things that might disappoint me a little include the unfinished grill (which I was told to be finished 2021 fall), the constant running-water concerns associated with Boston area construction (which is nobody’s fault), and somewhat very frequent fire alarm testing in the morning (3-4 times in the past year). The last one should actually be a good thing because it tells how much that the management team tries to ensure our safety — so it’s a very personal complaint for night owls. Still appreciated. Overall, I found the Sudbury very welcoming, and the monthly events that connect the communities are very thoughtful and sweet. I definitely made many friends here during my lease term, which is the ultimate experience I was and will be looking for in the future.

Just had a terrible experience in this store. I was placing my order and lady at a counter asked me where I’m from. I answered that I’m from Ukraine. She started talk to me in russian, and insisted that I have to talk russian language to her. I answered I prefer to talk in English. That moment her face becomes angry and she turn around and was talking something about Ukrainian/russian quietly. In the end I said “Thank you “ and she just throw my order on a counter, it slides there. I’m grateful Polish people for their support and I always support Polish business in Boston. I’ll share this terrible customer service at Baltic with everyone, because it’s not only language question, it has way more deeper meaning and that Polish employee knew that.

Walking in for the first time, the ladies showed me all their prepared foods and offered to any up for me. The cheese blintzes were so good I ate them all in my car. The smoked sausages were amazing, and the ladies recommended how to store and use them best. I see myself coming back weekly!

THE LADIES BEHIND THE COUNTER ARE SOOOOOOO RUDE!!!! Look, I’m not Eastern European and I have many friends who are , who don’t behave this way. I am a person of color. The stares I got when I walked in and while I shopped, and the way they just said No to every question I asked nicely and their refusal to make me a sandwich when the person before was getting deli meats (mind you there was 5 people behind the counter) makes me wonder how they were raised??? Being an immigrant and treating other people of color with such disdain will NEVER MAKE ME COME BACK HERE. I don’t care how much good products I love. I’d rather travel to Eastern Europe before I come back.

This store really is awesome and definitely deserves more stars however their customer service really needs an upgrade. We've only been in a handful of times but each time we go in they are not very friendly to us! Slightly rude and demeaning. Im sorry I wasn't taught to speak Polish but that shouldn't matter. I work in a food store and I give everyone good service regardless ...so I expect the same. Very disappointing and we are kind of shocked.

My recent move to Emerson Place could not have been smoother thanks to the responsiveness of Richard Hall! He helped move the leasing process along so quickly and then even accommodated a switch to a different unit that better suited my needs when that unit became available. So far I've had great experiences with maintenance staff rapidly responding to my requests (even at 11PM on a Sunday night), and everyone in the Emerson community including the leasing team, concierge team, and service technicians have been incredibly warm and welcoming. Tenants are always promptly informed about any scheduled repairs, and the apartment community also seems to host a variety of events for families, pets, etc... that help make it feel like home.

Will came by to fix a clogged bathtub. I had several additional requests and questions. Will was very friendly and accomodating. He helped me fix my closet and clogged sink even though I didn't have a maintenance request put in officially for these tasks.
Samar R — Google review
Lived there for over 2 years, would not recommend it if you have other options. Basis is that it’s ok to have issues but how they were resolved are far below standard for a managed property. A few examples: - in my first unit, the ceiling was leaking, it took them almost 4 months to fix it. Had to involve the Equity central office in the process, lots of headaches. Pictures attached. - the fire alarm in my second unit makes ringing noise, they say it’s unfixable. When I shared my prev. unit didn’t have this issue they said they went to check and found out that unit’s fire alarm was never working.. which is a huge safety hazard and they didn’t know about it. Unsure how many other units have dysfunctional fire alarms. - water can be shut off at random hours without any advance notice or explanations - the management office never picks up their phones - there’s no window screens in the units on upper floors, when you request for it, they just say they don’t have any supply and send you a YouTube video on how to DIY window screens lol - the helicopter noise is real and can be frequent throughout the night - unit interiors have been updated but the building shows age, especially the elevators - the sound proof’s poor, you hear all your surrounding neighbors footsteps, chats, pets etc. Things were good with the previous manager, building’s older but well managed. But after she left, the living experience took a sharp downturn. With the new manager, you get lots of emails from their office about nonessential things and then short replies with basically no info when there’s actual issues need to be resolved.

This is the start of our second year lease with Emerson. We enjoyed living here because of the apartment's configuration and the excellence in services. We loved the generously sized apartment, perfect move in condition as far as cleaniness and appliances' working conditions, the gas stove it offered, friendly neighbors, helpful concierge and the fact that general utilities (e.g. water, A/C and heating) were included in the rent. Each apartment came with an alcove which is ideal for putting our desks. It is of pretty good size that can easily fit a bed. The leasing and maintenance services offered by the apartment were also excellent. Both Richard and Kendria are knowledgeable and responsive. Our leasing agent was Richard. He is both responsive and detailed. He explained in details what needs to be done and took us step by step through the leasing process. He is also very proactive in reminding and explaining when things seem a bit confusing for us. The maintenance folks are also great. They are very responsive. Most of our service requests were addressed the next day. Joseph helped to adjust our doors nicely to remove the tiny squeaking noises, a job well done!

The best Italian sub and cannoli I’ve ever had. For the Italian sub, the ration of meats, cheese, toppings and vinegar is perfection. The cannolis are far more superior thank Mike’s and Modern. I think the key is the fresh citrus. Incredible.

If you need quality meats, cheeses, or imported Italian shelf stable goods look no further. Tony and his staff are absolutely incredible. They are so friendly, the first time I walked in I felt like I was a regular. They only stock the best quality products and are very helpful whether you are looking for specific or to try something new. Everything is priced fairly and they regularly have sales that keep my freezer stocked with a weeks worth of meals at least. I always keep some homemade hot sausage on hand in case I'm in a pinch and if you need an easy weeknight dinner, Tony's weekly dinner specials are great. If you can't tell I really can't say enough good things. Tony's Market really is a gem of the neighborhood and city. To preface, I visited the Boston Market Location. I dropped by the market to pick up a few things for some friends that were in town (07/11) around 5:00p. Holy Gen Z experience, I’d imagine the company wants there workers to be present when a guest arrives and is browsing around the area. I’d also imagine that maybe the employee would look up from there computer and acknowledge that someone is visiting them. I’d suggest saying something like (but feel free to come up with your own thing) “hi/hello” wait a few moments and follow it up with “what brings you by” or “are you finding everything okay?” Everything was fine as far as a product but I conducted the transaction the young woman saying six words, the price and “do you need a bag” and she went quickly back to the computer as I gathered my things and spent the rest of what I thought I was going to spend with Curio at Q’s Nuts and Hearth & Hug. It wasn’t a great experience that I’d like to see a repeat performance of if I go back. It’s not difficult to greet your guest and be present as they visit.
Em B — Google review
A chef’s dream. Curio is owned and run by devoted and experienced folks whose goal in life seems to be to bring you the best of what’s on offer from around the globe. There is no such thing as a hard-to-find item here. They source spices from different places - example: you can get Hungarian Paprika but you can also get artisanal paprika made here in Massachusetts. They carry multiple sources for things like saffron and vanilla. You can get many spices in a variety of sizes so you don’t have to buy a huge amount. They have in-house spice blends for many types of dishes. My spice rack has their products - from vanilla beans to nigella seeds to Bazaar spice mix and more. It is an absolute gem of a shop and a delight to visit, and the folks there are always friendly and helpful. They will tell you what dishes a certain spice would work for and help you choose between different varieties of the same spice. They will advise you on which dishes do better with a vanilla bean and which benefit most from an extract. They sell luxury kitchen items such as high-quality nutmeg grinders and other such uncommon tools. They do ship, but if you are close by it’s a fun trip and not a chore to stock up your spice rack. Parking is on the street on Mass Ave, and usually not too difficult to find.

Fabulous spice shop in Cambridge. They have some excellent spice mixes as well as individual spices, chilis and a selection of beautiful housewares. They will guide you through their collection of spices and provide recipes fkk

Ordered from their online store. The website is nicely laid out, things are easy to find. We really liked their chai spice mix, had more of a ginger kick or something spicy, very good. The Sichuan peppers smell and taste same as the ones we'd get at the Chinese market. Haven't tried them all yet, but pleased with everything so far.

I was in Boston for training for a few days, and was so glad there was a class offered at Milk Street when I was there. Loved, loved Birgitte's class on Danish cooking. She is an amazing teacher, and her passion for great, fresh food and her love of the food of Denmark came through loud and clear. The cooking school space is heavenly, great demonstration island and wonderful hands on cooking area. The Milk Street group is warm, inviting and passionate about sharing their space and love of food. I have been a Cook's Illustrated, Cook's Country, Milk Street fan forever, so it was a thrill to actually be in their kitchen!

Milk Street online cooking school virtual classes are amazing! The classes are livestream over zoom - you can ask questions in the chat and they are answered. The milk street teachers - April Rosie and Matt - are terrific and really show you to cook from their home kitchens with what they could get from the store that day. They also have terrific guest teachers from all over the world. I have added so many terrific cookbooks these guests have written to my collection. If life happens and you miss the class or you just want to see how they did something again, the recording is sent the next day. I have taken many of these classes and learned something from every one. If you want to really learn to cook at home from great cooks who clearly love to teach, these are unbeatable. Photo of tart I made from the class with Dorie Greenspan.

I love the online Milkstreet Cooking School! I enjoy them so much that I even took a class during my birthday! The classes are engaging, informative, and varied! The instructors are passionate about sharing their knowledge and love of food. The online community is supportive and welcoming. Even though it is online we get to know each other because so many of us keep coming back for more & we interact through the chat feature. The instructors always follow up the class with helpful class notes the next day. Also the instructors are very responsive with follow up questions if I email them.

Christopher Kimball’s Milk Street Cooking School is a large, positive part of my life, as over the past two years I have participated in over 200 of their livestream cooking classes and completed over half of their online, self-paced, pre-recorded cooking courses. Thanks to Milk Street, I now feel much more knowledgeable, comfortable, and creative in the kitchen! Milk Street’s virtual classes have exposed me to use a wide variety of cooking techniques, tools, vocabulary, tips, strategies, templates, and recipes. The Milk Street livestream cooking instructors (Rosie, April, and Matt) are truly inspirational, the moderator (Karsyn) helps us use the chat to get our questions answered during class, and the instructors of the pre-recorded courses are extremely knowledgeable. I love when Milk Street has guest chefs that share their recipes from around the world, so I become exposed to various cuisines, get a chance to research and purchase “new-to-me” ingredients, and try my hand at new dishes. Here are photos showing dishes I made after watching two of Milk Street’s virtual cooking classes. . . Baklava and a Sichuan Dinner (Mapo Tofu, Kung Pao Chicken, and Sichuan Cucumber Salad). Be sure to take some Milk Street Cooking classes. They will transform the way you cook!

I took Luisa Weiss's Kirschstrueselkuchen baking class and after searching for a true German cake recipe, I can say I am so happy. The class was very instructional, had great baking tips and even substituting blueberries instead of cherries was as easy as Luisa said! I really believe my (German) mom and grandmother would be proud of me. :) Thank you and I hope to see future classes by Luisa.

Awesome class! Was a wonderful learning experience. It was well organized, entertaining, and always love 💕 cooking along with an experienced chef! The creamy chicken with charred snow peas was very flavorful. We absolutely loved the Ricotta olive oil pound cake! So, I was thrilled with the outcome of these recipes and am definitely will be purchasing Melissa Clark’s cookbooks!

Great experience. For a long-time home cook it was still so insightful to pick up many tips and tricks along the way. Engaging instructor and staff and fantastic facility. I can't wait to take more classes!

Highly recommend!! I am deeply addicted to the crispy chickpeas we made in the Spices class, and now have much more confidence winging it with flavors in the kitchen. The teachers are amazing, the dishes never fail, and the remote class prices are very reasonable. Great for a date night, or something more fun than zoom chat for faraway friends and family!

Seven Hills Pasta Co. offers pasta making classes where you can learn to make pasta dough from scratch, create different shapes, and taste your creations with delicious sauces. The classes include a tour of the pasta factory and parking validation. Customers have enjoyed the stuffed pasta making class, finding it informative and fun, giving them confidence to make pasta at home. The handmade pastas are available for purchase in bulk, and customers praise the quality of both the pastas and sauces.
Come here often. Great choices of fresh pasta. My favorite was when they collabed with Farmhouse Meats & Cheese right across from them in Haymarket for a Braised Beef Ravioli. (Love it when local businesses work together to somehow improve and already magnificent product) Honestly I've never been disappointed with any of their pasta options thus far (And I've had then all). You really can't beat it when they do their 1lb Fresh Pasta & Jar of Sauce special. Plus whenever I go (usually Friday pm) the server there is outstanding. Courteous, professional, easy to talk to. Five Star Customer Service , I couldn't Recommed higher! My partner & I (and our Pup Luna) will continue to be regulars.

Seven Hills very generously donated pasta as a favor for every guest at a recent fundraiser I assisted in planning! Everyone LOVED the pasta! Thank you so much.
Jenna M — Google review
This was the worst pasta I have ever had in Boston. It seemed like the dude forgot about the salt entirely. With a dish that requires just a few ingredients—pasta, pasta sauce, and salt—the lack of seasoning was crazy. The meal was completely bland and disappointing. Avoid this place if you care about flavor in your food.
Chris K — Google review
Very delicious fresh pasta. I bought 4 different varieties totaling around 7lbs. The fettuccine was so light and easy to digest unlike other fresh pastas I've enjoyed. Most definitely will be a continuous customer. Staff is very friendly and serviceable.

These guys know how to chef up some pasta. They have a good assortment of pastas and sauces, but even offer the sale of the handmade pasta they make themselves in bulk for those who want to go home and cook it themselves. Adam and Rider(The Pasta Chefs) although young, are experts of their craft!

The guy was definitely busy, but he handled the crowd like a champ and got our orders set up in a timely manner. The pasta tastes fresh and the tomato sauce is good. It's a hair pricey, but so is everything at the market. Well worth the stop.

Participants can enjoy lively conversation, wine, and the dishes they prepared alongside their classmates. Awesome place for getting to know your family ; co- workers or a team. You can choose either vegetarian or non- vegetarian entrees to cook . The concept of this kitchen / restaurant is unique ; you will be supplied with all the ingredients and the recipe and depending on the number of people you can form or split into teams and coordinate the cooking process for the entire dinner for the evening. You will have ample support and help from the chefs as and when needed. Once you are done last minute prep is carried out by the chef and the other staff and is served on your table. It’s a unique team building experience for the people you work with. Could be an expensive but worthy adventure. It’s not your regular eating place ., it’s a different concept do your home work before you show up. Reservations are a must.

My team and I visited Action Kitchen in June for a team building social event. We could not have been more pleased with the experience. The service was incredible, the chefs professional, and the wine pours generous. It was such a fun and inclusive event, even for those who do not "cook". We each left with an apron and a copy of the recipes that we prepared, a very nice touch at the end of the evening. I highly recommend Action Kitchen for a corporate social event, thank you Action Kitchen team!

My team went here for our holiday party, and it was disappointing. The staff were standoffish—the cooks seemed bored, and when we asked for a tips on how to better do our cooking steps, they seemed annoyed and gave a minimal answers. The woman coordinating the meal (apparently she was new) was pretty gruff. We thought the food was tasty, but won’t be coming back here again because the attitude of the staff made the experience much less fun. We are next trying a place that teaches you how to mix drinks, so stay tuned!

Went here with my work and it was amazing! When we first arrived we were greeted with some hors d'oeuvre and drinks. We then divided ourselves into different stations and cooked appetizers, two main courses and two different desserts. Finally we sat down and was served what we had cooked, and it was all really amazing! In the end we were given aprons and recipes for all the dishes we had made. Had a really good time and the food was great!

Beth's Chocolate is a flourishing chocolate business located in Newton, offering chocolate classes where participants can learn to make everything from bark to truffles and other confections. Beth is known for her knowledge and passion for all things chocolate, providing a welcoming environment for her classes in her lovely home kitchen. Participants have enjoyed the hands-on experience of making chocolates step by step, learning about tempering chocolate and getting to taste a variety of chocolates from different origins.
Beth's chocolate class was a terrific experience. She catered the class to our group, teaching us about chocolate basics, making ganache, moulding chocolates, a chocolate tasting, and more. We learned a great deal and left with many delicious treats. Highly recommended!
Neva C — Google review
We took a class with Beth, she's really knowledgeable, easy going, and fun to work with. We already knew a good deal about making chocolate, but she was able to teach us even more beyond that and coach us on technique. Highly recommend!
Justin S — Google review
My daughter and I recently took Beth's chocolate making class. Beth was a great teacher who took the time to teach us about the process of chocolate making from bean to bar. It was really fun to learn how to temper chocolate and the chocolates we made and decorated were delicious. I can't wait to try what I learned at home

My husband and I had a wonderful 2.5 hr (which didn't feel like that long at all) taking Beth's class. It was such a pleasant experience seeing how the chocolates are made step by step and getting to taste a wide range of chocolates from different origin. We also got to take home a ton of hand-made tasty sweets which are just the cutest gifts to friends! Thanks Beth!

My mom and I recently took a class with Beth, and wow what a great experience! Her knowledge and passion for chocolate are unmatched, and she catered the class to exactly our tastes and interests. Everything was delicious, and we can’t wait to try out some of the new tips and tricks we learned at home!

My wife and I took a class with Beth--it was phenomenal. We learned a ton about the complexities of chocolate, tasted a variety of different bars, and made ganache, truffles, homemade Rice Krispie bars, and chocolate medallions. Cannot recommend highly enough!!
Frank C — Google review
I took the introductory class from Beth where we made chocolate bark, truffles, learned how to use transfer sheets, etc. We learned about tempering chocolate (key to successful chocolate making!), and made some delicious and beautiful chocolates to take home. Beth is very knowledgeable and passionate about all things chocolate, and is a very patient teacher. She has a lovely and welcoming home and her kitchen is perfect for chocolate making. Our class started out with a chocolate tasting, and I was thoroughly surprised by the different flavors apparent in different dark chocolate bars, and it was very interesting to taste an actual cocoa bean! I'm always looking for nice homemade gifts that I can share, and I made two batches of truffles after taking Beth's class that were beautiful and delicious. After taking the class, I had some follow-up questions, Beth responded quickly to my email messages and was very helpful. I'm looking forward to taking her class on molded chocolates in April. In addition, Beth's Chocolates are so pretty and delicious, I love her chocolates with ginger, and her chocolates with passion fruit.

Beth's classes are as exceptional as her chocolates! My 10 year old son and I attended a three-hour class and came away confident to make truffles and chocolate bark on our own at home. Highly recommended! I can't wait to attend another class.

If you're looking to spice up your usual date night or simply want to enhance your culinary skills, Sur La Table is the perfect destination. This delightful chain store not only offers a fantastic selection of kitchen essentials but also hosts some of the most engaging cooking classes around. With themes that range from Italian feasts to Mediterranean delights and even taco nights, there's something for everyone.
Went for the Dumpling cooking class with Chef Mike. It was really fun and instructive. We (8 total in the class) made almost 50 dumplings. Chef Mike walked us through how to get the skin and was really knowledgeable. We also made stir fry noodles, spicy strong beans, and ginger ice cream. Really delicious.

Went for a cooking class (and some shopping after, of course) and had a great experience. The staff was very friendly. Chef Rory guided us through the class with patience and kindness. I had feared we might have an "iron chef" of sorts, but he was very easy-going. Pascale was helpful as well, and Rina gave us fantastic insight on their wide range of products. Went home with 4 new delicious recipes (that I can and will recreate at home) and some high-quality kitchen gear. I would definitely like to return someday soon!
Suzy R — Google review
The cooking class was super fun! The dishes we cooked were fun to learn and delicious to eat - and what I really appreciated was all the kitchen skills that the chef taught us as we went along through the class! For instance, he taught us the right way to hold the knife and move the knife across the cutting board, he taught us about using whole spices instead of ground spices, etc. He is clearly very knowledgeable and enjoys sharing that knowledge with his students!
Brittany B — Google review
Great cooking store, but also offers nice classes. We attended the French and Autumn fusion class, and overall enjoyed the experience. We felt like we were actually contributing, and the staff were very professional and knowledgeable.
Matthew M — Google review
I first interacted with the Sur La Table at Copley about three years ago as part of a cooking class I attended with my team from work as a holiday outing. That was a great experience, but it appears the customer service and experience has declined over the years. I recently attended a class that was an absolute mess - we ran out of ingredients, the chef was very rushed so we did not learn many techniques, and we left with a collection of half-finished parts (for two pies) instead of the "take + bake" items promised. Following up on that poor experience, I was offered a free class as an apology, which is a nice gesture. The issue is that I've made five calls to the store now attempting to redeem the offer for the class and I have not been able to connect with a chef, nor have the store staff been faithful in passing along my contact info and request for a call-back it seems. My expectation is that when I purchase goods and services from upscale brick-and-mortar retail, I am getting a seamless, effortless customer experience that is part of what sets that channel apart since I can easily obtain many of those same goods and services online quicker for less money. My experience at this location of Sur La Table does not come close to meeting that expectation. There's room for improvement.
Benjamin L — Google review
I've been to Sur La Table a few times and feel like it's time to review them! I was so excited when they opened in the Copley Mall, they're near Williams Sonoma but have a lower price point, which I appreciate. They have everything from serving ware, to baking decorations and cookie cutters, to plateware and silverware, to oven mitts, to dutch ovens and pans and so much more. I can't imagine them not having something I'm looking for. I got a great Julienne peeler here (Crate and Barrel actually sent me over here when they didn't have one), and the girl helping me steered me toward the more expensive--but much less flimsy option and I'm so glad she did. They have options at all different price points. I recently brought some knives in to get sharpened here and I just signed up for a cookie baking class and can't wait--the space is gorgeous.

A very meh experience. Went to a cooking class last weekend, chef seemed very uninterested with being there, and rude. A few "classmates" asked questions. One specifically regarding why a certain ingredient was in the recipe and the response was "because whoever wrote it put it in there".....what?! He could of lied if he didn't know maybe; "to make it sweeter" perhaps? At one point he mentioned this class was all on us, it wasn't one of those "sit back and relax classes where the chef does the work"....interesting/strange comment. We learned nothing about Tuscany, even though the class was about Tuscan food. I don't think Tuscany or Italy was mentioned once. The chef didn't even know the name of the class when we arrived! haha - it was odd, looking back I am honestly surprised we didn't leave early. Had such high hopes when we found this place, sad letdown. Luckily, there are many other places for cooking classes in the city!
Sara M — Google review
There was only one person and the store and she was rude. She acted like she didn't want to help or answer any questions because she was moving the line at the register so I got in the line and ask the same question when I got to the front and she was still grumpy. If i wasn't shopping for someone else, I would've just walked out like this other guy did right before. He threw his stuff down and walked out.

ArtEpicure Cooking School in Newton offers a comfortable and casual dining experience with deliciously approachable food like the Newton Fried Chicken. Chef Mark hosts cool cooking classes where guests can enjoy wine, cheese, and crackers while learning to prepare dishes like chicken and wild mushroom pasta, asparagus salad, breaded goat cheese, and apple cake for dessert. The owner is praised as an excellent teacher in a chic artist building on the Somerville/Cambridge line with convenient parking nearby.
In a word: outstanding. Mark (owner, chef, teacher) is a great guy and an excellent teacher. It was a really neat space, and the four hour private class for 12 of us was perfect. This would be great for couples or for groups. Book quickly, he fills up fast! The locations is this really chic artist building located on the Somerville/Cambridge line. There is 4 hour visitor parking on Chestnut and Linwood Streets, both of which are right there next to the building. Don't worry - there are plenty of spots, regardless of the time of day since this isn't a very busy part of town. Just walk up to the front door, buzz the code for ArtEpicure (there is a listing of all codes next to the buzzer), mark answers and comes to greet you. For our food, we made a delicious salad (it had everything you can imagine in it, but it was simple and delicious), followed by chicken and vegetable paella, and topped off with bread pudding and apple crisp with homemade cream. Wow. Mark is a really great guy, is well-traveled and experienced, and a fun conversationalist! Great job Mark!

A group of women with wine, cheese and crackers surprised one for her 50th birthday celebration at this cool cooking class with Chef Mark. We sat and listened to the chef as we also chatted. He answered every question we had as we went along and even after the class. We prepared a chicken and wild mushroom dish with a pasta a salad with asparagus and breaded goat cheese followed by dessert...an apple cake. All in all it was a perfect choice and very comfortable and easy going event. Our expectations were exceeded in every way!

I purchased a gift certificate in an amount redeemable for two cooking classes. It was a Christmas gift for my Dad, so that we could attend a class together. We picked a class for May, but as May approach, so did COVID, and as was required for public safety, the school closed. COVID was an act of God, and although I was disappointed, that is not why I am writing this review. Recently, this school re-opened offering ONLINE CLASSES ONLY for the forseeable future. This format of class did not even exist at the time I made my initial purchase. I requested a refund. I was not willing to pay $165 to attend an online class. I could go elsewhere and attend an in-person class with my father. I was flatly refused a refund, and have lost my money.
