Restaurant
Bar
Papi Cuisine, located in Federal Hill, is a laid-back restaurant known for its diverse menu that includes familiar dishes like chicken wings and burgers. The owner and award-winning chef, Alex Perez, draws inspiration from his Dominican and African American heritage to create an Afro-Latin menu filled with flavorful seafood options such as stuffed lobster, crab eggrolls, seafood alfredo, and honey glazed salmon. The restaurant also offers Caribbean-inspired cocktails served in unique ways.
My friend and I tried Papi Cuisine over the weekend and they didn’t disappoint. We made a reservation and we were seated right when we got there. I ordered the crab cake fries and colossal fried shrimp. My friend had the crab cake egg rolls and fried lobster mac and cheese. Our food came out in less than 10 minutes and our waiter was very attentive and nice. The crab cake fries came with a huge crab cake. It was so GOOD, and the sauce they put on it was amazing, the shrimp was fried lightly and very tasty, then crab cake egg rolls were great too. Update: I’ve drove here just for the crab cake egg rolls.

A Mixed Experience at Papi’s New Location As a long-time supporter of Papi, I was excited to visit their new location at Proper Cuisine’s sister property. While the atmosphere and service were absolutely top-notch (10/10 for both!), the food didn’t quite meet the high expectations I’ve had over the years. The Highlights: Atmosphere & Service: Both were fantastic. The space is vibrant and inviting, and the service was friendly and attentive, making for a pleasant dining experience overall. The Disappointments: Jerk Lamb Chops: Unfortunately, the lamb chops were a letdown. The portion size was much smaller than I remember, and the flavor just didn’t hit the mark like it used to. Kale: The kale was overly salty, which overshadowed its potential to be a flavorful side dish Crab Fries: My husband’s crab fries were missing the “fixings” that were promised on the menu, which was a bit disappointing. While they were still edible, they didn’t have the full flavor profile I was expecting. The Wins: Honey Brussels Sprouts: On the bright side, the honey Brussels sprouts were on point and exactly what I was hoping for—crispy, sweet, and delicious. Other Notes: Parking: Parking can be a bit tricky, as it’s limited in the area. There is street parking available, as well as a nearby garage, but be prepared for potentially having to circle a bit for a spot. While I’ve enjoyed these dishes for many years, today’s experience left me uncertain about returning anytime soon. I’ll likely give it another try, but I hope the kitchen finds its rhythm with these classic favorites.

Let me start by saying this place is a bit misleading — the name is actually Proper Cuisine, not Papis Cuisine, and the quality definitely doesn’t live up to the original name’s reputation. I went for dinner over the weekend, and the whole experience was underwhelming. The restaurant was pretty empty, and the vibe was off — the music sounded like a CD stuck on repeat. There only seemed to be one waiter working, which showed in how slow everything was. We arrived around 8:15 p.m., and food didn’t start coming out until after 9:15. Dishes came out one at a time, which was strange, especially since my friend and I ordered the same thing — our plates arrived about 25 minutes apart. They also ran out of Caesar salad. Now for the food: • Mac and Cheese: 0/10 — completely undercooked. The cheese wasn’t melted, and it literally tasted unfinished. • Brussels Sprouts: 0/10 — no flavor at all. • Salmon Bites: 6/10 — these were actually decent, probably the best thing we ordered. • Crab Cake Egg Rolls: The crab itself was good, but the egg rolls were overcooked, tiny, and definitely not worth the $12 price tag. Honey old bay wings, 5/10 just taste like wings no old bay flavor The drinks were just okay — nothing special, and after the meal we barely wanted to finish them. Honestly, by the end, we just wanted to leave. Overall, between the slow service, uneven pacing, and low-quality food, I wouldn’t recommend this spot. It’s a shame because the sister brand, Proper Cuisine, clearly isn’t delivering the same standard anymore. Definitely won’t be back.

Went here to celebrate my our 18th wedding anniversary. It was clean, the staff was nice. They played 90s/2000s R&B which was right up my alley. I had the Branzino with slow cooked kale and mash potatoes which I would recommend. I am not a gin or martini girl but the Passion Fruit Pleaser was surprisingly good. Which they dimmed the light a bit to set the evening atmosphere. Overall, I was pleased with my experience.

Reservations were made so there wasn’t a wait time. Friendly greeting. There was a little bit of a wait for the food to arrive. The drink was watered down. I ordered the lamb chops. It was ok . Not as tender as it should have been. Food was just ok . Service was good. Atmosphere was meh. Tables were too close to other guest. I would go back again if I was in the area because the service was decent and it may have been an off day, i would try something other than the lamb chops next time
BK D — Google review
Atmosphere is really nice but the service is slow and the food is only good when eating there. DONNOT ORDER TO GO!!! They do not cook your food up to par. Goes from 5 star to 3 star food smh I ordered crab cake egg rolls twice both times they were cooked like absolute trash. Then the Brussels I ordered were so hard I couldn’t eat them smh this place has not been great lately. I used to LOVE this restaurant Papis but it’s not how it used to be

Came here after a graduation and was actually surprised. Customer service was good, food came out fast, and the atmosphere was pretty good. However, seating is a little tight in some areas. Prices could be a bit better too. I ordered the following: Jerk lamb chops: 10/10 cooked perfectly. Nice char. Sauce was very good. Mac and cheese: 8.5/10 pretty good in regards to a restaurant. Creamed spinach: 6/10 good flavor but not as thick as I’m used to. It was more like the spinach was drowning and Cajun cream. I couldn’t get over the texture. Happy hour Hennessy drink: 7/10 good but a little too sweet for my palette Old fashioned: 7/10

Took server a little while to get to us but after on top of things and orders came quick. 20% gratuity added to bill automatically, which the server didn't mention and I gave her a tip not knowing. Had to ask for my receipt. Food is delicious , niece stated the lobster was a little chewy. Jerk Lamb lollipops are ALL that! It's open so the kitchen is right there and can be a little loud. Played R and B music.

Seafood restaurant
American restaurant
Thames Street Oyster House is a charming eatery located in the historic Fells Point district, offering a classic oyster house experience with a focus on fresh seafood. The restaurant features a raw bar and serves traditional and modern coastal fare. Guests can enjoy their meal downstairs at the main bar, upstairs with a beautiful view of the water, or in a lovely courtyard.
Exceptional service with exceptional food. We tried all of the oysters, and that was a great experience tasting the subtle differences between them. The lobster tail, claws and u-12 shrimp were delicious. The mussels and fluke were great appetizers and the lobster salad was exceptional. Not cheap to eat like that, but this was a great experience for a special occasion.

I think this was overall one of the best restaurants I've been to. The thing that stood out most was the service, which I would describe as Michelin-lite. Multiple employees even other than our main server coming by frequently to switch out silverware and used plates as soon as we were finished with something. Our main server was new, being shadowed by one of the managers. She did a great job and you would never be able to tell she just started so it seems the quality of the service here starts from the very beginning. There were some deals on happy hour oysters. There were 4 dipping sauces to choose from which added a lot of customization to the flavor. Being based in the DMV and used to the prices there, it really seemed like we got great value on the food. Not sure if the portion size to price ratio is good for Baltimore standards but at least for us we were very happy with what we got for the price. I can recommend all of the dishes we got, the Iceberg Summer Salad, Clam Roll and Scallops, all worth it in my opinion. I will say the two people seated near us both got the lobster roll and it looked really good as well.
Yiran L — Google review
First time in Baltimore and enjoyed a wonderful lunch at this place! Our server was amazing. She knew the menu very well gave us amazing recommendations and overall the experience was great. We enjoyed oysters and of course a lobster roll. The lobster roll was perfect. It was perfectly cooked not tough and deliciously buttery. Thereafter, took a stroll by the waterfront. If you’re in the area, definitely a great place to stop and grab a bite.
Liliana C — Google review
The food was absolutely fantastic, with the lobster rolls being the star of the show. It was loaded with tender, succulent lobster meat, lightly dressed to enhance its natural sweetness, and served on a buttery bun . The crab cake was just as remarkable, filled with jumbo lump crab, minimal filler, and a crispy, golden exterior. Both dishes really showcased the restaurant’s commitment to fresh, high-quality seafood. The service was exceptional. Our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu.
Jim F — Google review
The portions were generous, everything was fresh, and the atmosphere was nice. It was busy, so perhaps that’s why, but the service didn’t feel particularly warm or welcoming. The crab cake was absolutely delicious, and the scallop ceviche was fresh with an amazing balance of sweetness and lime—highly recommended. The salmon was a special, so I’m not sure if it’s always on the menu, but I really think they should keep it—many people would love it. Note that they close at 2:30 PM and reopen at 5:00 PM.

One of the best seafood spots I've ever been too. The oysters were fantastic, and the sheet they give you is very informative. The place is small and busy so make a reservation asap.
Niko — Google review
We had an exceptional all-around dining experience at the Thames. I ordered the Whole Aegean Bronzino with excellent spiced taste that just peeled off of the spine and with a tasty heirloom salad. Others ordered a variety of smooth raw oysters, the Lobster Roll, Fish and Chips, and the Crab Cake which we were all pleased were shared. Teresa Marconi was an extremely knowledgeable and fun waitress, explaining the specials and menu in a straight forward, informative, and engaging way that added greatly to the ambience and our overall experience. Our only slight complaint is that the chairs are not that comfortable. This was a definite top notch food experience!
Kristin S — Google review
What a wonderful experience. This place was recommended to me on my flight into BWI. I checked into the hotel and grabbed an Uber over on a Tuesday night. It’s small and was full but they said I could put my name in at the bar. In less than 10min I was seated. Each oyster/clam was clean, fresh and delicious. The meals ordered around me all looked incredible but the crab cake looked amazing. At first glance I thought it was baked potato based on the size. Staff was all fantastic. I couldn’t recommend this more.

American restaurant
Woodberry Kitchen is a trendy, upscale restaurant located in a renovated old factory, offering refined New American cuisine with a farm-to-table focus. The menu features locally sourced ingredients from Chesapeake farmers, including a breakfast selection of freshly baked pastries and traditional brunch dishes. The restaurant has received numerous awards and accolades, contributing to its popularity among both locals and tourists.
Excellent food, attentive and friendly service, great vibes. What more could you want? I’ve been a couple of times and my experience is consistently lovely. The Tavern dining room is small, so I recommend a reservation, especially for larger parties. I think the largest they can seat in their standard set up is 6.
Emily W — Google review
We had our micro wedding with 21 attendees at Woodberry Kitchen in March 2025. We got married on the patio and had our reception inside. We could not have picked a better venue for our wedding - it was the perfect size, price, etc. Woodberry Kitchen is the whole package for weddings and events. Everyone who came to our wedding talked about how wonderful the wedding and venue was - aesthetically pleasing and intimate with amazing food. Jolanta was great to work with throughout the planning process and listened to all of our requests and concerns, and Amanda was fantastic the day of the event, making sure everything went smoothly. If you're getting married or hosting an event in Baltimore, Woodberry Kitchen is a no-brainer for your dream venue!
Olivia H — Google review
First, I would say it started off great. I couldn't find the restaurant because I didn't see the name of the building, but the waitress was friendly enough to meet us outside. The restaurant has a rustic feel to it. It's not fancy on the inside, but it has brick walls, hence an old mill. The menu is limited, but I did order a drink. I had the deviled eggs, which is only one egg cut in half. I had the salad, and steak. Honestly, it wasn't my preferred cut, so I only had one piece of the steak. The taste of the food was somewhat bland. For some reason, once the food order was placed, I saw the waitress, but I had to get another waiter to help with some other things, including my dessert. My dessert was the best part of the meal, and please note that an automatic 20% gratuity was added regardless of the party size. I would recommend this location for venue only. The wedding party seems to be the only thing that was a success.
Armenia B — Google review
We had an amazing dinner at The Tavern at Woodberry Kitchen. Our reservation was for two at 8:30 PM, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. We started with the short rib empanadas, which were rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The young lettuce salad was light and fresh, and the Everything Spring Salad, while more of a side dish than a traditional salad, was still delicious. The grilled zucchini in it really stood out. For mains, we had the fish and chips, with catfish as the fish of choice. It was delicate, perfectly cooked, and paired with crispy, well-seasoned fries. We also had the tavern steak frites cooked to your choice of doneness, and it was tender, flavorful, and satisfying. The blackberry mojitos were refreshing and perfectly balanced. It's definitely a cocktail we’d order again. Dessert was the chocolate cake, rich and indulgent, and a perfect way to end the night. Our server was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable, not just about the menu but also about the restaurant’s history and the neighborhood. Highly recommend this spot for a relaxed evening with great food, drinks, and thoughtful service.

As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the opportunity to work at quite a few venues, but few stand out as clearly and memorably as Woodberry Kitchen. From the moment you walk in, the space feels warm, textured, and effortlessly elegant. The rich character of the brick walls and bistro lights paired with natural light streaming through large windows, creates the perfect canvas for timeless, romantic images. Every corner of the venue offers something visually compelling. What truly elevates this venue beyond its aesthetic is the team behind it. The venue coordinators are not only organized and attentive to the couple’s needs, but they also go out of their way to support the vendors. As a photographer, it makes a huge difference when the staff is communicative, flexible with timelines, and genuinely kind. Their collaborative attitude ensures that the day flows smoothly, allowing everyone to do their best work while keeping the focus on the couple’s experience. And let’s not forget the food—absolutely outstanding. I can't wait to bring my husband here for dinner. Often, vendor meals are an afterthought, but here, the team makes sure that we are fed and if it doesn't work in our timeline, they pack it up in to-go boxes for us. The food is always a highlight in its own right. This venue is a dream for photographers and a treasure for couples. I can’t recommend it highly enough—for its beauty, for its team, and for the exceptional experience it creates for everyone involved. Can't wait to be back! The incredible florals in these images are by Gott Efni or Yarrow Floral Co.

The atmosphere at Tavern at Woodberry is so relaxing — you instantly feel at home. The building itself is gorgeous and gives off such a warm, cozy vibe. Their wine list and beer selection are thoughtfully curated, focusing on local and sustainable options, which I really appreciate. We started with the board — a perfect sampler — and the greens were fresh and crisp. The burger was top-notch: full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and paired with fries that were cut and seasoned just right. Dessert definitely had that “wow” presentation, though it wasn’t our favorite flavor-wise. Grateful for the warm, friendly service and such a tasty highlight to the weekend. 🍷🍔✨

Visited here for a rheumatology conference. So we had the back room in the back patio available to us. Beautiful location with ample space however, the table seating was a little bit tight. The service staff was incredibly friendly and was always refilling drinks and bringing around more option for food. For dinner, we had the chicken and the rockfish. Both were cooked perfectly, but the portions were rather small, so could have used a little bit more to eat. The flourless chocolate cake was good, but I’ve definitely had a more decadent flourless chocolate cake elsewhere.

It was our first dining experience here, and it lived up to the online reviews. Service was fast and attentive......thanks Char! Tried several seasonal cocktails, and they all were enjoyable. The food was flavorful. The stuffed eggplant stood out by itself. The coppa steak could have been plated with a starch and the savory crab pie with some greens. The choices for table sides were limited. Definitely will be back!

Steak house
Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse is an upscale chain offering a traditional Brazilian dining experience. With origins in Porto Alegre, Brazil, the restaurant has expanded globally and is now located in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. The dining concept features all-you-can-eat meat carved tableside alongside an extensive salad bar. The menu includes a variety of steak, chicken, lamb, pork dishes, as well as fish and seafood.
Perfect place for business lunch, a romantic dinner or just because you enjoy eating meat. They now offer selections for vegetarians and vegans too! I love that this restaurant is so versatile and in the heart of our incredible city. If you're planning a company holiday party, a baby shower, entertaining a group of executives, or planning a milestone family celebration, consider holding it at Fogo de Chao. Bring some table decor and you're set! Ask for Gab and she'll take great care of you.

Come with a big appetite and plenty of time! Go slow. There are so many options to try and enjoy, but if you eat to fast, you will get to full to experience all this restaurant has to offer. Food and Service were spot on!
Kevin H — Google review
I visited this Fogo de Chão location for the first time on October 12th to celebrate my birthday. While it was my first time at Fogo, I’ve been to other Brazilian steakhouses before and had high expectations based on the rave reviews I’d heard about the “Fogo Experience.” My party of three arrived around 2:30pm and was seated promptly by a friendly hostess. The restaurant wasn’t busy—maybe 10 tables occupied at most—so we anticipated attentive service and a steady flow of meats. Our first server explained the Full Churrasco experience to my daughter, who was new to this style of dining, and we were excited to dive in. Unfortunately, after about 45 minutes, we found ourselves mostly waiting. Despite the light crowd, the meat service was sporadic and underwhelming. We never received several of the premium cuts we were looking forward to—Beef Ribs, Ribeye, NY Strip, Filet Mignon, or Lamb Chops—which left us disappointed and feeling like we had to downgrade our expectations. To their credit, the front-of-house manager was gracious, offered a sincere apology, and adjusted our bill to reflect the fact that we didn’t receive the full Churrasco experience. Our second and third servers were friendly and professional, and our fourth server brought out a birthday dessert and sang “Happy Birthday,” which was a sweet gesture. (We assumed the changes in servers were due to shift changes) Still, for a birthday celebration, the overall experience felt lackluster. I’m not sure if it was the time of day, the fact that it was a Sunday, or just this particular location—but when I compare it to my experience at Chima, Fogo fell short. I do plan to give Fogo another try, but next time I’ll visit the King of Prussia location to see if that makes a difference.

Wilmer, Karla, and Marvin were the most exceptional servers and support staff I have ever encountered. This was my first visit, and it exceeded my expectations. I came to celebrate my son’s birthday, anticipating a typical dining experience, but what I received was an extraordinary meal accompanied by outstanding service. The team made every effort to enhance our dining experience, even ensuring that my son felt celebrated with a special surprise at the end of our meal. The quality of both the staff and the food was remarkable, making this an ideal venue for celebrations. I highly recommend requesting Ted, as he and his team truly made my first visit memorable!

Lester was our server and was impeccable. He waited on us from A to Z, nothing lacking. The manager came to our table multiple times to make sure everything was alright. We enjoyed the solid bar and all the various cuts of meat. We walked in and figuratively rolled out because we were full. I can't wait for the next uber experience.

Wonderful experience celebrating Father's Day 💙 He truly enjoyed himself. This location (Baltimore Harbor) is much bigger than the other ones and beautifully laid out. The selection of meats was Amazing and truly enjoyed it paired with the cold salad bar. Saratoga bottle water to start along with our favorite Capirinas. But the BEST part of the evening was our experience with the female manager Beatrice. She is the true definition of customer service and because of her will happily return to spend my money. Hope they realize how much of an asset she is to the company.

I’ve been to this establishment quite a few times, and every time has been great. I have not gone during the weekends, so I cannot comment to that. The times I’ve been there, they have been very attentive and helpful. The chicken salad doesn’t sound like something you would try, but it’s worth trying out as it’s very refreshing.

Food and service was lovely! We are back at the Baltimore inner harbor location three months later and this visit is even better! The food as always is consistently delicious! As always the honey cheese was little show stealer! This time we added the lobster tails, which tasted great, perfectly cooked finished with butter and a grilled lemon on the side. The staff was so happy and provided top tier service- super friendly! The birthday girl enjoyed rum and vodka pineapple infused shooters which she loved! Also the new dessert, Cheesecake Brûlée, was spot on decadence. Vibe was festive, inner harbor was bangin’, good times!

La Tavola Ristorante Italiano is a spacious and inviting restaurant located in Baltimore's Little Italy district. Chef Carlo Vignotto brings together traditional expertise and innovative techniques to create a menu featuring soups, seafood, chicken, pasta, veal dishes, and delectable desserts. The kitchen emits the enticing aromas of freshly baked Foccacia, garlic, oregano, and market-fresh seafood.
La Tavola, Little Italy, Baltimore So, let me tell you about a little piece of Heaven ❣️ When you need a little break, head to Little Italy, Baltimore and stop at La Tavola, you will not be disappointed. Their special bruschetta with homemade focaccia bread - marinated tomatoes, prosciutto, and pecorino Romano cheese with olives on the side, dinner was homemade pasta with clams and Sardinia caviar (the owner is from Sardinia, Italy), then finished with fresh strawberry panna cotta! The food was absolutely delicious. The bruschetta on homemade focaccia had a delightful mix of marinated tomatoes, salty prosciutto, pecorino Romano cheese, all sitting on soft and crispy bread. The homemade pasta with clams and Sardinia caviar tasted fresh and flavorful, with the clams bringing a hint of the sea and the caviar adding a touch of luxury and authenticity. Finally, the strawberry panna cotta was creamy and smooth, with the strawberries adding a bright, sweet finish to the meal. ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️ The ambiance was comfortable and inviting. No one was sitting "close" to you, the brick gave an elegant, rustic feel. The staff made you feel welcomed. They were kind and attentive, never rushing you. There was no "hustle and bustle" - you were meant to enjoy and savor your meal! Definitely a 5 out of 5! ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Best restaurant in Little Italy. This is probably the best italian food I’ve ever had. The squid ink pasta and gnocchi pomodoro was immaculate. The server was very friendly and knowledgable, ambiance was great (they played jazz all day long), everything was perfect. Definitely would come back to try every single thing in their menu if I’m in Baltimore.

Always impressed by the fresh and creative weekly specials! The staff is incredibly friendly and well-versed in dietary restrictions… there’s no shortage of delicious gluten-free options! Mark is the friendliest bartender 🍷, and Luca is a thoughtful owner who ensures every visit outshines the last. A true neighborhood gem! 💎

We went to the restaurant trusting the google and tripadvisor reviews. Boy, were we wrong? The food was not even good. I left the restaurant and had Chinese food for dinner. I do not like Chinese food. That is how messed up this experience was. I got the veal dish with vegetables and the gravy was way too salty. The potatoes were burned and the zucchini were undercooked. My MIL ordered the gnocchi. The sauce was weak and bitter. Out of the six entrees we ordered, there was only one of us who enjoyed the meal. Everyone else was sorely disappointed. We ordered two of the house specials and they were just bland. To top it off, the server made a drink stating that the bartender was busy which was very different than what was previously ordered. When we mentioned our disappointment, his response was I added more vodka. So I guess thanks for giving us the drink that we did not order! Anyway, this is another $300 mistake, I won't be making. I am going to Olive Garden next time. Also, gratuity of 20% was already added. Wonder if that was because we were party of six or their norm.

Incredible Italian food in Baltimore! Impeccable service. Our waiter Shabaz was a true professional. Highly recommend carpaccio and shrimp and calamari app. Home made pasta is perfect. Any fish they have that day is a must.

The food was excellent, and the service was impressive. The ambiance was both relaxing and elegant, making it a perfect place to enjoy a quiet, quality meal. Highly recommended!

The wait staff was nice, but for only having 9 customers took a very long time to help us. We got a wide variety of dishes, the squid ink ravioli and special shrimp tortellini were both good, the lasagna was edible but tasted a lot like a canned sauce and NO BECHEMEL and the bronzino with over cooked shrimp was absolutely terrible. I could not recommend this place at all

The Capital Grille is an upscale steakhouse chain known for offering classic American fare in a refined setting. One Eleven at The Capital, located in The Capital hotel, has been a landmark since 1877 and underwent a significant renovation in 2016. With its hardwood floors, striking artwork, and floor-to-ceiling windows providing views of downtown Little Rock, the restaurant offers an elegant dining experience.
I think this is one of those places where the food always hits. I love the service they give you and the food is amazing. I have been here twice and I love it. Their bread is amazing. 😍 We had for appetizers a crab cake and wow, delicious. The green sauce made it so tasty. Our appetizers were also really good. Everything is worth it. 100% recommended specially if you have a special occasion.

The ladies and I dined at the Capital Grille in Baltimore. We kissed Summer goodbye and welcomed Autumn with salivating steak, lamb, sides, and sweets. We had a red and white wine flight to complement our meal. Everything was simply delicious. Our server was attentive and accommodating. We sat outside and chatted away to the background noise of Baltimore City. The weather, the wine, the food, and the company made the evening. If you are into fine dining and do not mind giving up a few pennies for quality and style (if you’re into that), then this place is highly enjoyable. Definitely adding it to the rotation. Cheers! 🥂

The Capital Grille is one of my favorite restaurants to come to when I’m in the mood for good eats! Tonight was no different, I needed a solo unwind. I had an espresso martini with Tequila(great), started with a lobster and crab cake appetizer(packed with flavor & unfortunately a lobster shell 🥺) otherwise delicious, ended with a filet, lobster tail to accompany & lobster Mac & Cheese. My waitress was delightful…only disappointing aspect was the lack of concern and apology for the fair sized lobster shell that I could have choked on. I almost felt brushed off when I brought it to attention.
Tiffany L — Google review
The service and atmosphere was a 5/5. However, the food didn’t quite live up to hype. For the prices, I expected more flavor. Lobster Mac and cheese was watery, not thick consistency. The spinach had no flavor whatsoever.
Victoria V — Google review
Capital Grill has been consistently good location to location over the last 20 years. I would give 4.5 stars for food and service and 5 for atmosphere. They have the best calamari dish with the accompanying peppers and onions. We started with that and the seafood tower. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. We ordered three bottles of wine from their extensive selection, that is also reasonably priced. They could have more of a selection on their dessert wines, but the ice wine we ordered was enjoyed by all. Always recommend Capital Grill as one of the handful of best steakhouse chains in the country.

Nice place, I had good food besides the calamari it was dry and just regular but the tuna was so delicious and their lobster Mac and cheese yum!! We went for Mother’s Day it was pretty busy, service was great, the servers are definitely more on the older side but that didn’t stop them from giving us a great service. We spent about 2 hours there me and my mom. They have very delicious crème brûlée:) It is pricey but definitely worth to try. You do have to find parking and pay for it tho, either valet for 14$ or 7$ public parking.

I celebrated my birthday on my very first visit to The Capital Grille. My waiter, Carlos, was exceptional! He was very attentive and his menu suggestions were perfect. I told him I loved blackberries and vodka and he had the bar make me a blackberry martini 😋 He even presented me with a pink rose after dessert. I could have stayed just to be taken care of by him. My wagyu burger was seasoned and cooked impeccably, every bite was so delicious. I can't wait to get back to try other menu items and enjoy this experience again and again.

Such a good evening all around. Out here in Northern Baltimore county, while we do have a lot of nice and delicious places to eat, sometimes the daughter who is turning 18 for her birthday she wants a special steakhouse dinner. And after much research, we all know how much money things are, we settle on Capital grille and it did not disappoint. I mentioned on the reservations that it was her birthday put that we didn't need all the singers lol. After being seated, she got I guess discreetly given card that had confetti come out of it and then after our meal she even got are you free dessert with two kinds of cheesecake! In between those two things everything was perfect. Mary Lou was our server and she was absolutely lovely and took care of us and didn't make us feel weird about how particular each of us are with our food preferences. From no onions to add cucumbers to extra plate cuz I'm going to pick it their food, to can we get that with extra sauce and then can we get extra dressing on the side can you swap out this for that... Mary lou, all the supporting staff and the manager and obviously the cooks and the chef and everyone else in the back of the house accommodated it without us noticing if it was annoying or not! Appreciate it so much and I have more than enough leftovers to feed myself in the middle of the night... You might have thought I was going to say everyone for lunch tomorrow but no it's just for me!

Small but excellent menu! My husband and I ate here twice during our stay in Baltimore. We each got something different both visits and everything was wonderful. Highly recommend the Buratta, the brick oven pizza, Maryland Crab soup if you like spicy, the crab dip pizza appetizer, and the Tuscan burger! Staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was cozy.

Happy hour happens on Sunday 4-6 the wings are amazing so are the drinks. The bartender and servers are also really nice. I tend to go on Sundays because of the relaxed ambiance, though it is definitely busy during the week and on Saturdays. Burger was cool I ordered medium it was well but it still tasted good and the fries are really really good. Overall a cool vibe.

Brunch was awful. Food sub par. Servers either didn’t care or actively upset at working there. Overheard a conversation where he said he wasn’t doing anything extra to help people. Had to ask for butter and jelly three times. Both waiters said sure I’ll get that for you and then went back to whatever else they were doing. Couldn’t get their attention to bring a spoon for coffee so I used my fork. I really don’t like to hate on waitstaff as it’s a difficult job, but if you don’t want to wait on people then don’t take a waiters job. I will say the bartender at night is fantastic. Could be a fabulous restaurant but apparently management doesn’t care either.

I tried B&O for the first time 2 weeks ago for happy hour, I've been 4 times since. Needless to say pretty good experiences. I'm usually not the biggest fan of smoked wings but The wings are really really good. Cinghiale is a vibrant wine bar and upscale Italian restaurant that offers a blend of authentic and heartfelt Italian cuisine. The establishment prides itself on its modern Italian kitchen, curated by renowned restaurateur Tony Foreman. The menu features hand-cut, house-made pastas and authentic regional dishes from Northern and Central Italy, prepared with love by Chef Julian Marucci.
We had an incredible first experience at Cinghiale and are already planning our return. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations — the ambiance was warm and elegant, and every interaction with the staff was thoughtful and welcoming. A special shoutout to Alejandro, our server, who was truly outstanding from start to finish. He was not only kind and attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Every recommendation he gave us was absolutely perfect! We trusted his guidance completely and he delivered a 1000/10 experience. The food and drinks were exceptional. Cinghiale impressed us on every level, from service, setting and cuisine and we can’t wait to come back.

Boy, was Cinghiale a surprise—in the best way. We were visiting from Washington, D.C. over Labor Day weekend for a quick getaway to recharge and celebrate a birthday. We tried several different restaurants during our stay, but this one was hands down our favorite. We debated where to go given its proximity to Little Italy and all the options there, but choosing Cinghiale turned out to be the best decision. They offer different menus depending on the experience you’re after—whether a more casual à la carte option or a prix fixe—and both looked amazing. The atmosphere is fantastic. It’s tucked away from the busiest streets, so dining outside is peaceful, close to the water, and great for people-watching. Inside, the white-tablecloth wine room is elegant, and even the regular dining room and bar looked inviting. We opted for outdoor seating and had a quiet, comfortable night. Service was outstanding—truly the best we had anywhere in Baltimore. Our server was warm, attentive, and full of energy. She gave thoughtful recommendations that really shaped our meal and even surprised us with a birthday glass of wine paired with our entrée, plus a candle with dessert. Those personal touches made the night feel special. And the food? Spectacular across the board. The stone fruit salad and tomato-mozzarella salad were both refreshing and beautifully presented. The duck was incredibly tender and perfectly cooked. The stuffed pasta dishes were rich, flavorful, and a highlight of the evening. From appetizers through dessert, everything was balanced, thoughtful, and made with pride. We walked away with zero complaints—just full appreciation for an incredible experience. Cinghiale set the bar high, and we’ll absolutely return on our next visit to Baltimore.

What a pleasant lunch surprise! Cinghiale just started serving lunch and they had a well curated menu that even included desserts. I enjoyed my visit so much, I invited a friend to join me. I would strongly recommend them for a solo, duo or group lunch visit. At this time, they offer this lunch special Tuesday-Friday from 11:30am-2:00pm. I will definitely be visiting again. Gracie Cinghiale and well done!

This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Baltimore! The staff were absolutely amazing from the moment we walked in until we left. We were celebrating our one-year wedding anniversary, and as a same-sex couple, things can be a bit unpredictable, but we were greeted with such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The food was just unforgettable. We also never found ourselves with an empty glass. The portions were the perfect size. We could tell it was all made with care and fresh, high-quality ingredients. I can see how some things might not fit everyone’s palette, so make sure you check the menu before you go. We have absolutely no complaints. We had a great time and can’t wait to share our experience with anyone who’s interested.

Dining at Cinghiale in Baltimore was a memorable experience that blended elegance with warmth. From the moment I walked in, the golden lighting, soft chatter, and candlelit tables created an inviting atmosphere that felt both refined and comfortable. My wife and I attended the Cinghiale Opera Salon, and it was truly a one-of-a-kind evening — the live opera intertwined beautifully with the meal, making each course feel like part of a story. The service was attentive, the pacing thoughtful, and the food exceptional. Every dish reflected care and authenticity, from the perfectly tender pasta to the rich flavors that spoke of true Italian tradition.
Gerson C — Google review
We just had our wedding at Cinghiale, and it was absolutely fantastic. From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond to make everything perfect. The food was incredible—every course beautifully prepared by Juan David and served with care, and the service was seamless all evening. The atmosphere was elegant yet warm, and our guests couldn’t stop talking about how amazing everything was. Planning and communication with Abbe Gould was smooth and professional, and on the day of the wedding, she and the entire executed every detail flawlessly. If you’re looking for a venue that combines exceptional food, impeccable service, and a truly special ambiance, Cinghiale delivers in every way. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience on our wedding day.
Gregory F — Google review
Excellent service and atmosphere! They make sure you are well taken care of and everything is seamless. However, the reason for the 2 stars is because of the food. The food is mid at best. I had the lasagna and it was bland and underwhelming. The charcuterie cheeses tasted cheap like they went to Walmart or something and got them. Again, beautiful restaurant by the water and excellent wait staff. The food just sucks.
Hamza W — Google review
We came to the harbor to visit. We ended up wanting to eat dinner, so we found this restaurant on Google. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and sat down quickly. Our server Matt was phenomenal! Jake, the manager, was very professional and helpful as well! The food was really good! The short room was so good that I had two orders! The ice cream with espresso was incredible! We would definitely come back here again. As you walk in they have a station where they prepare cheese and Salamis. I was really excited to try that out until I saw the guy prepping eating a couple of bites which turned me off instantly. That was the only negative thing. I did bring it up to the manager and told him to talk with the worker to prevent that from happening again.

Gertrude's is a sophisticated restaurant located within the Baltimore Museum of Art, offering New American cuisine with a local twist. The restaurant, owned by chef John Shields, is known for its locally sourced farm-fresh food that pays homage to the region's culinary traditions. With a scenic backdrop of the museum's sculpture garden, Gertrude's provides an elegant setting to savor regional specialties like Chincoteague Single-Fry Oysters and house-made soda flavors.
Location, atmosphere, seating, service, and the menu! Gertrude's been hiding out at the Baltimore Museum of Art for some time now. I discovered Gertrude's while attending a candlelight concert honoring Lauren Hill at the BMA. The food and drinks were flavorful and delicious. They offer a variety of fine surf and turf items and some house specials on the drink menu. Their not too pricey pricey. The candlelit atmosphere gave it a cozy and classy feel. You can dine inside or outside under the stars while gazing at the beautiful garden fountain. Gertrude's dining experience made our date night truly one remember for years to come.
Qenaan C — Google review
I really wanted to give Gertrude's a higher review. It is a nice clean sit-down restaurant, there is just nothing special or extra about it. Gertrude's is very conservative, from the coffee to food and the dining room. The food was nice, but it lacked any type of flavor or seasoning, which is good if you don't like a lot of seasoning or extra flavoring. It's definitely convenient being in the Baltimore Museum of Art.

My first dining experience at Gertrude’s after the Candlelight Concerts featuring the Best of Bridgerton on Strings. When you see the white linen tablecloth at a restaurant, you expect a fine dining experience. Gertrude’s didn't disappoint with the menu options, libations, service, and ambiance.

Gertrude’s atmosphere is truly a gem from its stunning outdoor seating and sculpture garden and proximity to the museum. I had lunch at the bar and only had oysters and a few cocktails.
Ansell W — Google review
Perfectly fine place to grab a bite whether you’re at the museum for a visit or wish to make a special event if it as a stand-alone restaurant. The martini I had was marvelous but the rest of the food was unmemorable. A crab cake that was good but surrounded by two tasteless sides: potato pieces that were far too large and some greens. The views of the sculpture garden when sitting outside are very lovely but you won’t walk away talking about the food: for better or worse.
Jakob P — Google review
Fine dining at a museum. What more could you ask for? The wait staff is very nice and the food is even better. They will customize any meal to your desire. The eggs Benedict and crab cakes are what you should go for if you’re hungry. Worth it!

I have lived in Maryland my whole life and I've never visited Gertrude's before. Gertrude's is a lovely restaurant on the 1st floor of the Baltimore Museum of Art. We only had appetizers and drinks while there. Everything was great, from the food to the drinks to the service. I especially enjoyed my calamari and my second drink which was some kind of sangria. They also provided this type of rosemary bread and cornbread free for the table. I am not much of a cornbread eater but I loved loved the bread. Oh the hush puppies were really good too and they served them with apple butter. Yummy!

The Black Olive is a charming Greek restaurant located on the historic Bond Street in Fells Point. It's renowned for its authentic Greek-style whole fish, seafood, and lamb dishes that have been passed down through generations of the Spiliadis family. The restaurant prides itself on using only the freshest seafood to create delectable dishes like lobster pasta and soft shell crab phyllo.
Celebrated the Valentine’s Day weekend in the Baltimore, MD area. Had the pleasure of dining at The Black Olive. Was able to get a table via OpenTable without any problems. Arrived at the restaurant and was greeted like we were family. Was quickly shown to our table, and our waiter was taking drink orders and bringing appetizers to our table. We shared the mushrooms which was a mistake, I should have ordered my own and my wife should have had one for herself. As we shared the appetizer our food came out within minutes. My wife had the fish, and I had the filet mignon. We’re talking mouth watering meals from start to finish. When we thought it couldn’t get any better, we ordered dessert. My wife took a bite out of her Baklava Ice Cream, and had the biggest smile on her face. Sadly, our dinner came to an end, and we had to leave. But, we WILL be back. If you happen to be in the Baltimore area, please check out The Black Olive, you will enjoy every single bite. Enjoy.

The most amusing thing is how we found out about this place. We ran into the owners while dining at Gunther & Co and they were surprised we had never been! Based on how friendly the owners we figured why not! We were not disappointed. The menu is vast and encompasses all of the Greek classics. We started with their delicious version of Chicken souvlaki. After such a solid start we got our entrees. The lamb shank, Greek style lambchops and the lobster pasta. All were fantastic and the staff was more than willing to help with a wine pairing for me and my lobster. For dessert we were excited about the baklava but fell in love with the baklava ice cream. The dinner drink pictured is their version of a brandy alexander which was quite tasty. Highly recommend, we will be visiting again.

I went to black olive for my birthday and the service was quick and they were very friendly and attentive. The lamb and shrimp combo with broccoli and potatoes were amazing. The broccoli was well seasoned. I also had the lamb meatballs and pita bread which were great as well. They gave me a free dessert and I had the chocolate mouse which was amazing. My boyfriend had the filet mignon and he said it was the best. I would definitely go back to this restaurant.

Our friends who lived in Fells Pt twenty-five years ago got us reservations in the wine cellar at The Black Olive. We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience with multiple courses: apps, mains, salads, deserts, drinks and wine. The service was attentive and helpful. Our food was perfectly prepared, promptly presented and so very delicious. You must absolutely get the baklava ice cream for dessert: best flavor in the world!! The highlight of the meal was Alain the sommelier. He was exceedingly knowledgeable and suggested perfect wines, some with a personal touch. I would highly recommend The Black Olive if you are looking for very fine dining in Baltimore.

My family has enjoyed many wonderful celebrations at The Black Olive in the last 10 years. Our recent experience was just a wonderful - we were seated in the wine cellar!! It was very special. The food was outstanding, particularly the fish dishes, although the entree options were fewer than normal since it was during Baltimore Restaurant Week. The good part was the menu made it easy to select an app, an entree and a dessert at a good price. Some of the appetizers were smaller portions than their usual size but still very nice. The staff was charming and the cellar cozy! The owner said hello at the end of our evening and it was truly a genuine conversation about family and food - all the love!

I love The Black Olive; I've been to the Olive a few times already. Amazing restaurant with a even more amazing ambiance. Great food, great service. After dinner, we walked around Fells Points. Lovely meal in the wine cellar at The Black Olive. The food was outstanding. Definitely one of the best meals that I have eaten in ages. Very memorable food, looking forward to going there again soon. I really, really wanted to give this place a 5 star rating but unfortunately the service was not great. The waitstaff seemed to disappear on us, we definitely would have ordered another bottle of wine but the server did not return. She also did not return with a seltzer water that was requested twice. I get it that some people in a private room might like to be bothered with checking in, but I think that we were not checked in enough. Also, I hate to mention this but it was very awkward when we left because we were told that there was a mistake running the credit cards that two of them were missed, when in fact in turned out that one of the servers had pocketed the $180 cash since two of of paid cash. I am hoping this was an honest mistake but it was definitely something that should not have happened. Again, the food was outstanding and the wine cellar was a great atmosphere. Hoping to give it another try soon.

Samos Restaurant, a long-standing Greek eatery in Baltimore's Greektown, has been serving up classic Greek dishes since 1977. What started as a simple menu featuring sandwiches and fried chicken has evolved into a haven for Greek cuisine enthusiasts. The restaurant offers traditional favorites like souvlaki, dolmathes, gyro, and an array of delicious salads such as the Traditional Greek Salad and Samos Special.
Samos truly delivers on authentic flavor! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious — fresh, well-seasoned, and full of traditional taste. Food is amazing! We got the grilled octopus (absolutely perfect), the souvlaki platter with one chicken and one lamb skewer (the lamb was wonderful), and the Maryland crab cakes. It was a feast! Definitely coming back! Ordered the baklava to go but it is probably going to be amazing too!

An exquisite hole in the wall of Greek Town. The food was amazing and customer service as expected. Limited seating and BYOB. Brought Mami here for Mother’s Day Saturday evening and the experience was wonderful. 20 minutes wait wasn’t bad, and I can only imagine Sundays crowd. Ordered the following: Grilled octopus: 10/10 charred beautifully, nice sauce Shrimp and feta pie: 9/10 never tried before but very good Build your own pizza - mushroom bacon olives 8 Kids pita pizza - regular cheese pizza Side Greek salad: 10 most meals come with salad. Bigger portion than expected, dressing is phenomenal. Grilled Branzino: 8.5 well seasoned and delicious. Wish it had no bone, but so worth the price. Combination platter 8/10 a lot of food, very good Add lamb skewer: 10/10 Best lamb I’ve had at a restaurant. Homemade lemonade: 8.5/10 refreshing and not too sweet

Samos is absolutely fantastic. The fresh, warm pita with creamy tzatziki was the perfect start to the meal. The octopus was easily one of the best I’ve had, tender, smoky, and packed with flavor. The gyro was also excellent, generously portioned and delicious in every bite. The salad came in a big portion, fresh and crisp, which made the meal even more satisfying. Between the quality of the food, the hearty portions, and the welcoming service, this place truly stands out. Highly recommended.

This is my goto spot for Greek food in Baltimore and how fitting it's in Greek town. There's no reason to ask around as bang for your buck this is best place to go to eat great Greek dishes and not break the bank. You can also bring your own wine and the corking fee is cheap at 250 per person. Not shabby at all. I have also catered from here, and that's always a hit as well. No party size too big or small for Samos!!!!

Update 9/19/25 My wife and I were in the neighborhood again so we had lunch at Samos. We planned a light lunch. My wife had Avgolemono soup, a Greek specialty. She loves that soup. I had Lentil soup, one of the best Lentil soups I've ever tasted. Then we split the grilled calamari appetizer. It was excellent. I've uploaded a short video to give you an idea of the noise level in Samos when it's busy. Noisy, but you can still converse. ----- My wife and I were in the neighborhood, and it was just after lunchtime. Since the neighborhood we were in was Greektown, we opted for a Greek restaurant. We were fortunate to arrive slightly after lunchtime so we had our pick of tables. On arrival, we were greeted and allowed to sit anywhere. The kitchen is wide open to view from the dining area. We saw a neat, clean, well organized kitchen and dining area, and we noted the delicious aromas of Greek cuisine. The menu was extensive, and service was prompt. My wife ordered a traditional Greek egg based soup to start. It was delicious. I had split pea soup, also delicious. Next we ordered 2 appetizers. I ordered the calamari, grilled, not fried or breaded. This was an amazing calamari experience. It's not available in most restaurants, and it's worth a trip to Greektown just to have grilled calamari at Samos. My wife ordered a melted cheese appetizer. We split both. Once we finished the appetizer course, we were pretty much filled up so we requested our check. You pay at the cash register. This makes checking out much more efficient. The menu is extensive. I'm sure we'll return to try other options. Samos is on a little street, but Google Maps will take you to it. There's free street parking. The restaurant is on the ground floor. It's modestly but nicely decorated. I highly recommend Samos.

This hidden gem provides one of the best brunch experiences in the city, catering to both small and large parties with its welcoming staff. Definitely a good dining establishment that cares about their patrons and culinary experience. Menu choices are good. Food is delish'/yummy and presented nicely. Service is attentive. The atmosphere is casual, comfortable and welcoming. Just note: no liquor served here. It's BYOB ( bring your own bottle).

Food was delicious and staff was wonderful. The decor was eclectic but Mediterranean-esque but please get rid of the plastic plants. Plastic plants are tacky no matter where they appear. There are plenty of interesting and beautiful pieces in the restaurant so no need for those little eyesores.

Walking around Fells Point during our 2 days visit to Baltimore we ran into this quaint restaurant located in an old historic home. The decor was beautiful and entertaining. We also met the owner who was a very charming Moroccan lady. She told me a bit about the age of the building, and gave me a little gift from Morocco. Such a nice person! Mohamed, the guy who served us was also a very nice person. The atmosphere was enchanting and the food delicious and well served. We don’t live in the area but if we did we would not hesitate to go back. Thanks you guys for making us feel so welcomed!

We’re so glad we found this charming little spot! The braised lamb with couscous was absolutely delicious — tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The place is full of character, with every piece of decor on the walls telling its own unique (and often funny) story. Such a warm, memorable dining experience!

What can you say but Magnificent. From the service to the food and relaxing atmosphere. The service was impeccable, very professional and informative on every item drinks and food. The food was top notch the pasta dishes we perfect and each one had its own flavorful taste . The swordfish was done to perfection. Very tasteful ambiance that set a nice relaxing and peaceful night. Was not loud and we were able to converse easily throughout dinner. Would highly recommend this to anyone that loves Italian food but also outside of Italian, such as steaks and some seafood.

Absolutely phenomenal experience from start to finish. Our server, Marlo, was exceptional—attentive and personable. We started with fresh bread served with olive oil, a rich truffle butter, and 18-month aged Parmesan—absolutely delicious. The drinks were excellent, and the chicken parm was perfectly prepared. The homemade pasta was incredible. We were also treated to a complimentary appetizer and limoncello shots after dinner, which was a wonderful touch. Easily one of the best restaurants I’ve visited in Baltimore. Highly recommend!

The food was outstanding, each dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. You can tell that a lot of care and quality ingredients go into every plate. Whether it was the appetizers, mains, or dessert, I truly enjoyed every bite. Tagliata delivers not just a meal, but a full dining experience. Visited for early dinner reservation on a Saturday. We were promptly greeted and checked in and sat at a table inside near the courtyard. The service was prompt and our server provided great recommendations about the menu and drinks. We had a small child with us and they made sure to accommodate the table and provide options that all could enjoy. The kitchen was able to accommodate a traditional Italian pasta that was off menu and every dish from appetizers, salads, and entrees was phenomenal in flavor profile and portion. The raspberry Bellini is very refreshing. There is paid street parking nearby. $$

Cannot say enough good things about this place! Tried the burrata salad, 2 of their in-house made pastas, the duck and 2 desserts, everything was scrumptious. The waiter (Christopher) was friendly, extremely knowledgeable and spot on with all recommendations! Julia, maybe a manager, went above and beyond with customer care, even going to far as to reserve us a spot at the speak easy next door for after our meal. All of the waiter staff were friendly and obviously cared about their customers. Will definitely be back!

Perched atop the Four Seasons hotel in Baltimore's Harbor East, The Bygone offers breathtaking views of the Inner Harbor and city skyline. This rooftop restaurant exudes a blend of 1920s glamour and contemporary charm, creating an enchanting ambiance for diners. Whether sipping on expertly crafted cocktails at the bar or indulging in a sit-down dinner, guests are treated to a dining experience that pays homage to classic American cuisine while incorporating locally sourced ingredients.
First I'm not sure where else you can go to get this view of downtown. I'd profess the 13th floor.... But I'm dating myself, knowing that place is long gone! You will need to come out your pockets to dine here, but it's worth it. The drinks are incredible. Service was impeccable. The menu does switch around. We had the shrimp cocktail, squash florets, prime rib, & pork loin. All highly recommended

We loved the amazing views! We were here celebrating a birthday, and the staff surprised us with a complimentary ice cream sundae — such a thoughtful treat. If it’s your first time visiting, one thing to keep in mind is that the meal presentation and menu items can change frequently. What we saw in recent reviews didn’t quite match what was on the actual menu, so it’s best to stay open-minded. Also, if you have food allergies, I’d recommend calling ahead to confirm what options are available for you. While most of our selections were fantastic, we felt the steak could’ve used more seasoning — we didn’t end up finishing it. Everything else we ordered was delicious, and the drinks were excellent. In terms of pricing, although many reviews mention a budget of $50–$100 per person, we found it more realistic to plan for at least $150 per person.Valet parking options are available. If you are able to walk or take an uber. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and definitely worth visiting!

I’ve been to The Bygone twice now—once for brunch and once for dinner—and both times were outstanding. The brunch buffet was fresh, flavorful, and felt elevated, not just “standard.” Dinner was just as impressive with beautifully plated dishes and attentive service. And the view? Absolutely stunning—especially at night when the city lights sparkle over the water. This place is more than a meal; it’s an experience. I’ll definitely be back.

🚨 THIS REVIEW IS ONLY FOR THE BAR AREA 🚨 We visited The Bygone on the 29th floor of the Four Seasons Baltimore and it absolutely delivered on everything you’d want from a rooftop bar experience. From the moment we walked into the lobby downstairs, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive—setting the vibe right away. Even on a Thursday night, the bar wasn’t overcrowded at all, which was honestly perfect. It felt like we could actually relax and soak it all in without fighting for space or service. Once upstairs, the views over the Inner Harbor were stunning. They have two gorgeous indoor decks with floor-to-ceiling windows plus an outdoor terrace where you can actually take your drink outside and get those panoramic views. The decor is honestly one of my favorite things about this spot. It’s got this classic, art deco-inspired look—lots of polished wood, tufted leather, rich velvet, and beautiful lighting. It feels upscale and timeless without being stuffy. The bar team was great too. Our bartender was super knowledgeable and friendly, offering suggestions and chatting with us while making the drinks. Service was quick even though it was busy enough to feel lively. The cocktails themselves were solid—very well balanced and tasty. They average around $20 each, which for Baltimore might be considered a bit on the higher side, but for a rooftop in a luxury hotel with those views and that vibe? Totally worth it. It’s the kind of place that really feels special—a fantastic date night spot or a place to celebrate something. Overall, we loved the experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to elevate their night out in Baltimore. 5 out of 5 stars from us—The Bygone is one of the best rooftop bar experiences in the city, hands down.

Went here on a date during a weeknight, we made a reservation for 8 pm. We were seated promptly, and everyone was very welcoming. The ambiance was quite nice, the views are great, but it's hard to complain about the ambiance and views in a waterfront restaurant. The food was amazing, the chef here has a knack for flavor combinations and presentation, my only complaint was the timing, which was absolutely ridiculous. Took an average of 40+ minutes to get drinks out; they said they had an event going on at the bar which leads me to believe their manager either understaffed them or their bartender(s) weren't up to the task of one event and a restaurant that had maybe 5 tables. While their alcohol selection is good, I ordered two French martinis and got two very different drinks each time, neither of which I would call a French martini but oh well. The house cocktails were good but again all of these were at least a 40 minute wait so that definitely detracted from the experience. Then when the food also took forever to come out, we ended up having multiple long moments with neither drinks nor food on our table. I don't know if the kitchen was having a problem or what was going on but some courses came out at a decent rate and others we were waiting almost an hour for. All in all, it took about 4 hours to get through our meal. For a place with food as good as this I'm very disappointed that I walked away thinking I should've just gone to Charleston, or that their chef worked anywhere else.

Absolutely spectacular & 1/3 the price of comparable places that, frankly, are technically great but less edgy & more predictable. Sit at the counter & watch the camaraderie of these guys; they love sharing & creativity, and you can feel it. Every course was fascinating & new. Fidel is kind & open hearted. We need to attend the bake sale (announce them on socials, guys! The tortillas are heaven). They didn’t rush us, and it was such fun. What a great place. Well return. If you don’t like what this incredibly creative group is doing, check your soul haha. Thanks, Fidel & all, for a wonderful evening. Loved every bite & the whole vibe. We still can’t believe how fairly priced it is, for all that you get. Rare, in this town. Keep it up, we can’t wait to see where you go in the future. You get it.

Really loved this place! Great atmosphere, beautiful and cozy interior, and the lighting was just right. We were impressed by the rushing river nearby and the charming outdoor patio. The appetizers were 10/10 — absolutely delicious! Drinks were fantastic too. The service was excellent and the staff super friendly. I had the creamy veggie pasta with lime — tasty, though the flavor combo was a bit unusual, definitely for an adventurous palate. My husband had the chicken — it was a solid 10/10!

When here, Sunday night group of three, we had reservations and service was very prompt on the ball. Bree was our waitress. She was alert quick very knowledgeable. She made the whole dining experience really pleasant. The food, the food was really good very large portions. We had the fixed price Sunday meal which was I thought extremely large portions the price I was actually before we ordered an appetizer and then we had a fix price $45 appetizer entrée and dessert. We all had stuffed mushrooms, extremely flavorful. I had a tiramisu for dessert. I come from a background and fine dining and I haven’t had Italian food for a long time so really felt good to get down there and the experience was really delightful. I really enjoyed it and I’ll definitely be back again. It might be one of those places where we go once a couple weeks it was enjoyable where you could literally get anything. You know you can get a pizza or you can get me the meat of it was really good. Great wine selection. I can’t say anything bad about.

I discovered Cosima while visiting another restaurant in the area. They offer free valet parking and outdoor dining. I didn't get a chance to sit at the bar even though I had a reservation for a bar table, which is actually a high-top table, and it was better. The service was great, and the food was tasty, even though my experience was filled with a lot of questions.

I have always chosen this as my go to date spot. The atmosphere is always wonderful. Eclectic music, spanning from 90s trip-hop to modern psychedelic pop. It offers a very chill and sensual dining experience. The lighting is perfection on the first level and patio, although on the mezzanine it’s a bit too bright. The patio has an incredible setup with string lights, heat lamps and a garden. It is situated along the Jones Falls, which offers ambient sounds and lovely sights. The service is always top notch, super helpful and informative staff. They have rotating seasonal menus which makes it exciting to keep coming back. I recently had an incredible intimate date and even though it was close to close everyone was so polite, but we made sure to leave… never want to be that guy that stays until close 😅 highly recommend the gnocchi and expansive wine list. But wish it had more vegetarian/vegan friendly options. Plus it’s a bit pricy for small portions, but the quality meets the price
Jack R — Google review
Cosima is now top of the heap as a "special occasion" place for my wife and I inside the city. I was legitimately exited to see if they could recapture the mastery of seafood (specifically sardines and anchovies) we encountered in Sicily, and they did so beautifully through the eccentric lens of American fine dining. The liquor and cocktails were excellent, as you would expect, but the bread, of all things, made the biggest impression. Yes, if you're accustomed to affordable family restaurants like we are you might roll your eyes at paying $4 for a small loaf of bread. None of that matters because the crust tastes like it was baked seconds before arriving at (perfect contrast between crust and crumb), and I can literally taste the herb butter every time I mention it, and I've mentioned it to a lot of people at this point. As one would expect of a restaurant of this caliber, the service staff were attentive and knowledgeable. They worked around our myriad allergies with patience and grace. That said, Cosima's staff earned special status in my mind because they went above and beyond to help me retrieve valuables I had dropped at the restaurant. They were incredibly patient throughout, and totally saved my bacon as someone who lives a considerable distance away with small children and no free time. I am in their debt, and they are in a tier of their own as far as customer service is concerned. If I had to ding Cosima for anything, it would be the parking situation, specifically that the venue is somewhat hard to find from the road (despite their best efforts with signage). That said, they've done just about everything they can do to improve it, up to and including complimentary valet. There is simply a price to be paid for using a historic venue that was never designed for food service. That said, now that we've done it once and know what to expect, its a non-issue.

Came for brunch yesterday with a dear friend. She's from DC, I'm visiting from Orlando. We had an exceptional time. Incredible service. Delicious food. Great vibes on a Sunday afternoon. Reservation for 8 of us. The food was good for the most part, but our server was not attentive by any means. Long stretches of time between her check-ins with us. Stuck in a back room upstairs, it seemed we were an afterthought. Ran out of water and had to get our to go boxes ourselves. She presumed 1 check and then agreed to split the bill 3 ways only because it wasn't busy any longer. Then, we had to go find her to pay our bills. Again, food was very good, but the service was definitely lacking.

My sister and I went during Restaurant Week and got an excellent three course meal for $45 on a separate menu. From the variety of food selections, indoor and outdoor seating, as well as an understanding staff. Not a bad experience, but an expensive one for sure. Almost $200 for our meals with a bottle of wine(the cheapest one at that) Cute spot, parking could be difficult on busy days. Had the burger with carb dip, dip wasn’t flavorful at all. The burger wasn’t nasty but it 1000% could’ve used more flavor. Fries were good. Everyone enjoyed their meal but like 7/10 enjoyed. The wings were good though! Probably my favorite thing. Eh I don’t care to go back.

Peruvian restaurant
Puerto 511 Cocina Peruana is a charming Peruvian restaurant located in Baltimore, Maryland. The restaurant offers a fixed-price menu featuring authentic Peruvian dishes such as ceviche and veal skewers in a cozy, minimalist setting. The dining room is adorned with lovely artwork and features an open kitchen, creating an intimate atmosphere for guests to enjoy their meals. Despite the small size, the restaurant exudes a lively ambiance and has a larger dining room downstairs for bigger groups.
This meal was exceptional! We had the six course tasting menu and every dish was phenomenal. My personal favorites were the ceviche, the lamb, and the dessert. Each dish was layered in texture and flavor, and everything was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend!

The cutest little restaurant with amazing and flavorful food. This is a spot you want to come to if you don’t like to be rushed and have ample time for dinner. You should expect about three hours for the entire tasting menu, as the restaurant is set up to feel more like Sitting in an oversized kitchen, chatting with family. A place for time doesn’t exist, but food, drink, and all the flavors take over. The BYOB option is pretty great, and would absolutely recommend bringing your own Pisco so that you could enjoy a pisco sour. Would also recommend the in-house purple drink (chicha morada) it’s so unique, made with purple corn, and yet has the sweetness of juice. The hospitality is fantastic and would come back again in a moment. Would absolutely recommend a reservation, though for a weekend. Unfortunately, those without reservations had to be turned away due to the demand for this spot.

A very cute place with sincere food and I greatly enjoyed my visit :) It's hidden in the corner street and you'll have to find the white door and ring to get in. Great tasting menu with a reasonable price. Every dish was well thought-out and full of details. The dishes were generally on the sour side, which I greatly enjoy, but if you don't like sourness it might be too much. We also ordered chicha morada and I really liked it. The service was attentive while not disruptive. I also liked the interior decorations!

Incredible, unassuming Peruvian restaurant in Baltimore! We did the weeknight tasting menu and loved all 5 courses, particularly the ceviche and anticucho. Highly recommend bringing your own pisco like we did as they’ll make you pisco sours. Will definitely be back!

This place is everything you love about fine dining but without the pretentious atmosphere. It’s cozy and intimate, the service is quick and attentive, and the seasonal tasting menu is some of the best food I’ve ever had. This place is a hidden gem in Baltimore and if you don’t try it you are missing out. Also bring your own Pisco for the best Pisco sour you’ll ever have.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday at Puerto 511 and it was unforgettable! The food was full of flavor, the atmosphere felt cozy and special, and the staff made us feel like family. Can’t wait to come back!

I recently dined at Puerto 511, a unique Peruvian restaurant that offers none traditional menu. Instead, they present "The Experience," a preset 6-course meal that truly lives up to its name. The restaurant is relatively small and unassuming in decor, but what it lacks in flashiness, it more than makes up for in culinary excellence and service. The meal began with a veal skewer (well seasoned, but a tad overcooked for my normal preference). There was a delightful fish ceviche, a perfect balance of flavors ( Coconut milk ginger and other spices. One of my favorite dishes was the tamale, surprisingly paired with seared ahi tuna. The combination was unexpected but absolutely delicious. There was lollipop lamb chop and a shrimp dish. The highlight of the the passion fruit ice cream coffee flan dessert was definitely the passion fruit ice cream. It was very refreshing. The service was impeccable, with the servers being both friendly and attentive. One of my friends cannot eat shrimp and they gladly substitute it with a fish for one of the courses. We were asked up front if we had any allergies or dietary restrictions They paced the courses perfectly, allowing us to fully enjoy each dish without feeling rushed. Do plan to spend at least two hours dining, as this experience is meant to be savored. Overall, dining at this restaurant was a memorable experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and delicious culinary adventure. Be aware, it's a BYOB restaurant.

Nestled in the heart of Baltimore's Greektown, Zorba's Bar & Grill is a charming eatery that embodies the essence of classic Greek cuisine. With its inviting atmosphere featuring a long wooden bar and an upstairs dining area, it offers a relaxed setting perfect for enjoying delicious meals. Known for its generous portions and reasonable prices, Zorba’s has earned recognition as one of the go-to spots for affordable eats in the city.
Food is as good as we remember it when the place was packed on the ground floor and upstairs. The two dishes that we especially enjoy are the lamb chops and the octopus. We started our dinner with a small Greek salad that was tasty too. Portions are so copious that there is usually enough food for another meal. I hope that the place will pick up again in popularity.

I just stopped by to deliver some stuff from another restaurant that they have family and friends at. It was right after we had a snowstorm so it looked a bit slow. However, everyone was very friendly and helpful. The bartender was sweet and friendly. I would definitely like to make a trip out there while not at work to try some of the food. Customers were also friendly and knew everyone. All in all definitely a nice Greek restaurant to try when you have the time!!

Very traditional and authentic Greek food! Greektowns iconic zorbaz has wonderful food! Traditional Greek music playing in the background and pictures of zorba the Greek line the walls. It's just an old fashioned neighborhood bar and restaurant. And if you're lucky you'll meet the owner John sitting at his usual table by the bar. Definitely worth a trip! The octopus is wonderful. The village salad is wonderful and don't forget to get the teramosalata spread for your pita as Meze as it's called in Greek - the traditional small plate.. Lamb chops are wonderful.. steaks are wonderful too. Get the oven potatoes and the Greek style string beans!
Lisa B — Google review
The meats were alright. I ordered lamb chops & steak with a few sides. Rice, string beans, broccoli & fries. The sides weren't that good at all. & I only took a picture of the fries. Because they looked & tasted terrible. None of the sides were seasoned....

Go for the food, not the ambiance. Simply prepared and fresh. Charcoal grill in the kitchen is something special that you can't find in other restaurants in this city. Highlights off the menu include the spit roasted pork which was tender, juicy and flavorful. Grilled Octopus piled high on the plate and fresh salads. Big portions and great place to split a few dishes between friends.

By far the most delicious, family-friendly restaurant in Baltimore City! We come here for every family celebration. The staff is amazing and the food is second to none.

A hole in the wall in Baltimore but this place was amazing!! We tried the octopus for an appetizer and the lamb chops as the main course. Everything was cooked to perfection and it was delicious!! Our server Andrea was amazing as well. Will definitely be returning in the future and will recommend this place.

Very serious about fresh seafood which is cooked over real charcoal. Not a fancy designer place, but maybe the best seafood restaurant in Baltimore, and their lamb chops and steak over charcoal are top notch. If they have crabcakes, get them. One approach is to skip all veg sides (except hand-cut fried potatoes) and use that space for great apps like grilled octopus and nice desserts like galatamboureko.

Kumari Restaurant & Bar in Mount Vernon is a beloved destination for those craving authentic Indian, Tibetan, and Nepalese cuisine. This local gem offers a delightful lunch buffet that showcases an array of traditional dishes infused with rich spices. Guests rave about the mouthwatering chicken momos and the ever-popular butter chicken, alongside other favorites like malai kofta and lamb curry.
As someone who doesn’t eat Indian food often, I wasn’t sure what to expect at Kumari, but it turned out to be a lovely experience. The restaurant has a quaint charm, and we enjoyed sitting by the beautiful window seating above the entrance, perfect for people-watching while we ate. I had the Butter Chicken at a 3 spice level, and she had the Chicken Tikka Masala at a 4 spice level. While both dishes could have used a bit more spice, the flavors were still amazing. We also ordered Garlic Naan, which was absolutely perfect and complemented the meal beautifully. The portion sizes were generous, leaving us with enough leftovers for another day. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and I’d definitely eat here again!

Absolutely incredible food at solid prices. I’d eat at Kumari pretty much anytime. Their gobi Manchurian is perfectly light and crispy, spicy and sweet. One of the best I’ve had. The tables in the window are also incredible for the view. (The interior could stand to be freshened up a bit.)
Jason M — Google review
The food was fantastic, and the prices were very reasonable. I ordered the Goat Curry, and it was incredibly tender, juicy, and flavorful. The meal also came with generous side dishes, including soup, vegetables, and rice, which I unfortunately couldn't finish because there was so much delicious food! The staff was also exceptionally friendly, which added to the overall positive atmosphere. I was only visiting Baltimore, but if I lived there, I would definitely be a regular customer.
Eduardo C — Google review
IMHO the food was not very good. some things were way, way, way too salty (like the curry chichen and a few of the condiments) and some things were way, way, way too sweet (like the chicken Tikka masala and a few of the sauces. All of the chicken was so dry and they need a better selection of veggie dishes. The staff was very kind and the restaurant itself is nice. Maybe I'll go back and try something besides the buffet.
M — Google review
Not all Indian food is the same. It might have the same name as something at your favorite place and taste completely different at another. At Kumari (a Goddess of Nepal) everything is a bit different and the outcome is delicious. Perhaps it's that Kumari is a Nepal restaurant representing similar but very different flavors than their neighbors to the southwest. The staff is very attentive and friendly. I observed one of the staff going above and beyond by re-wiping plates stacked at the buffet. Their beer recommendation was even spot on as well as, introducing me to a new favorite import. The buffet was standard for "Indian" restaurants with a few options that I have never seen before. For example a drink labeled Lemon Water was more like tea with a complex mixture of flavors. I really like this place and will return soon.
SS D — Google review
From the moment we walked in, the warm hospitality and inviting ambiance of this restaurant and bar set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The staff was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations from both the Nepali and Indian menus. Every dish was bursting with authentic flavor — from the perfectly spiced chicken tikka masala to the soul-soothing Nepali momo dumplings. The use of fresh herbs and traditional spices really sets this place apart. Their naan was hot, fluffy, and addictive, and the dal bhat platter was a comforting, flavorful journey through Nepali home-style cooking. Whether you’re a fan of bold Asia curries or curious to explore Nepali cuisine, this spot is a must-visit. Perfect for a cozy buffet, lunch 🥗 & dinner. Highly recommended!

The food at Kumari is PHENOMENAL!! I enjoy that they have so many vegetarian options. Over the last couple of weeks the food has been EXTRA good. Not sure if they got a new cook or something but…WOW, they went from 5 stars to 10 stars!! With one exception…the rice pudding. Please go back to the old recipe. We are NOT feeling the new recipe. Pictured is the kachumber salad, shrimp appetizer with onions and bell peppers was so delicious. The rice dish is chicken biryanai which was so flavorful. The server asked us how spicy and level 6/10 was hot enough to keep the heat lasting but no tears or sniffles! Amazing food always!

I love corn chowder. Gave it a try today. Sorely disappointed. It wasn't a chowder; it was a watery soup. There was virtually no vegs in it; only about 10 niblets of corn ($7.99). Tasted as if you mixed milk and water and threw in a palm full of vegs. It was like drinking a warm bowl of milk. The foods I've tried otherwise are pretty good; but this is definitely not prepared properly. Treat your customers right; nicely prepared food will always cause customers to spread the word.

Whenever I visit my sister in Baltimore we eat here! There’s a good variety of vegetarian and non-veg options. One of my favorite parts is the chai- there’s unsweetened and sweetened options so you can adjust to your liking. It’s delicious! The samosas, sauces, and Chana Masala are always good. My family’s favorites are the butter chicken and Saag paneer. The atmosphere and music is calming and the employees are always friendly and kind. It’s also a great value of food for the price. Would recommend! Pro tip: arrive around 11am when they open so everything is nice and fresh!

It was empty on a Sunday at 8 pm. I received Pappadam and chutney and a menu. I ordered Dosa Masala with chili and onions on the side. The dosa was tasty but not as thin, large, and crisp as I know dosa. I also enjoyed the complimentary onions and chili as well as the thick vegetable masala. I had to deduct a star for the smell of the restaurant that wasn't as fresh as I would have liked it and 1 star from the service because with only two guests and two waiters I wasn't prepared to wait for my check to arrive. Still 4 stars because I really like Indian food with a Nepalese twist.

Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Ammoora, a dining destination located within the Ritz-Carlton Residences that offers a captivating journey through the Levantine region. The restaurant's name, derived from the Arabic word for love and beauty, perfectly encapsulates its warm and inviting ambiance. Adorned with tiled floors, plush seating in hues of pink and orange, ornate florals, and sconce lighting, Ammoora provides an authentic setting for an unforgettable culinary experience.
I had a fantastic experience at Ammora! The ambiance is warm and inviting, with beautiful decor that immediately sets the tone for a great evening. I tried the Baba Ghanouj to start, which was smooth and perfectly seasoned. For the main course, I had the Braised Lamb Shank — absolutely incredible. It was tender and flavorful, served over fragrant saffron rice with roasted mushrooms, pomegranate seeds, and a pine nut gremolata that added a wonderful texture and brightness. The rich lamb jus brought everything together beautifully. Every detail of the dish was thoughtfully executed. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!

Overall we had wonderful experience but there is a room for improvement. My boyfriend made reservations for 6pm Saturday night. We arrived 15 minutes early. I remember reading that they have strict rules about their ambience and dress code. The first thing I noticed is a screaming baby in front room by the bar. Our host was very pleasant and assured me we will be sitting in a different room. Yes second room had a pleasant ambiance but again some customers in beach attire , man in shorts and flip flops. In my opinion that is not what this restaurant stands for. I suggest that they adhere to strict rules that is stated on their website. Other than that our meal was fabulous, same for a drinks and dessert. The wait stuff was pleasant but need a bit more training. We definitely will be returning and highly recommend this restaurant.

My husband and I were informed by a friend that this restaurant had amazing food. We celebrated our Wedding Anniversary with dinner here. Valet Parking was very reasonable ($15) and met us at the front of the restaurant. Once inside the hostess greeted and immediately seated us. We had 6:30pm reservations and arrived 15mins early. We were seated in the back larger room of the restaurant. The list of mocktails and appetizers were very nice. The flavors of the food were savory and flavorful. My husband ordered the lamb shank and I the steak. Our waitress was amazing and very detailed oriented. My steak was over cooked and dry. I had to send it back. The kitchen made a new one and the Manager did speak to us apologizing about the situation. I feel it was a very busy night for them. All and all it was a very wonderful experience. We will be back.

I am so happy that my trip to Baltimore allowed me to find Ammoora, it is such a gem of a restaurant. First of all, Middle Eastern food is often not found in this fine dining setting, which is such a shame. The food is elegant and beautiful and full of flavour and works extremely well in the fine dining arena. The funny thing is, they didn’t even have to reinvent the dishes or anything to make them “fine dining” which shows how inherently elegant Middle Eastern food is. But, not only was it lucky to find Middle Eastern food in this setting, they actually pulled it off. And pulled it off well. The food was outstanding. Full of flavour, brilliantly executed, just wow. Even the drinks are impeccable. The atmosphere of the restaurant makes you feel like you are in a palace in Arabia or something. The decorating is perfect. Lastly, what wonderful service. My server, osama, was such a wonderful young man and really made me feel relaxed and welcome. I cannot speak highly enough about this place. I think I’ll come back to Baltimore just to eat here again.

By far the best restaurant of Baltimore that has a semi Halal menu. Make sure you ask what dishes are Halal. Yessi was a great host. Lamb chops were a bit to rare for our liking but I would hope they are better if cooked to Middle Eastern standards. Estiatorio Plaka has quickly established itself as a vibrant addition to the Greektown dining scene, thanks to owner John Zoulis, who brings three decades of community ties. Located in the former Acropolis Restaurant space, this eatery offers an enticing menu featuring traditional Greek dishes like pikilia and kataifi. The cocktail selection is equally impressive, showcasing inventive drinks such as the Olympic Torch and Mykonos Highball.
Authentic Greek Flavors & Warm Hospitality I had an incredible experience at Plaka! The food was absolutely delicious packed with authentic Greek flavors that made every bite memorable. I had the chance to explore some traditional Greek dishes and drinks, and they did not disappoint. The ambiance was another pleasant surprise. I always passed by this Greek restaurant and wanted to try it out. My first time in there was 3/26/25 around lunch time ⏲️. I went in there it always looked to be a nice spot because you can see the decor from the outside 😀. It definitely didn't disappoint. They have such a wide variety of bakery items and wines on display as soon as you walk in. Unfortunately my break was short so I only grabbed a coffee ☕️ (which was very good by the way) and looked over the menu. The lady in the front told me about their crabcakes because I told her I was in my season of Lent and on Fridays I can only eat fish or seafood. I told her would be back Friday which is today 3/28/25 and I ordered the crabcake sandwich 🥪. To my surprise it came with fries and they were lightly seasoned and very good as well. The crabcake had jumbo lump and was okay. It didn't quite do it for me because I didn't particularly like the filler they used which wasn't much but it gave it a kinda mushy taste. I probably won't try that again because I'm a Baltimore woman and I know a fantastic crabcake when I taste one. They do have many other items that I would give a try and especially something from the bakery, their items looks sooooooo fresh. Great customer service and ambiance.

We have been trying a new restaurant every anniversary, and we were so thrilled to try Estiatorio Plaka this year. My husband is Greek so the food and the atmosphere felt perfectly warm and inviting. We got a beautiful bottle of Greek wine, the grilled calamari special, the Roasted Lamb special, and the Short Rib Bechamel, all phenomenal. Our server (I believe named Elias, i may have that wrong) was AMAZING. Fantastic reccomendations, friendly conversation, and wonderful service. A gentleman who i believe was the manager (maybe the owner actually, unsure) was so kind to us and made us feel like regulars, even offering free dessert for our anniversary (SO yummy). We left deliriously happy and full of fantasitc food. Cant wait to come back soon 💛

I've heard second-hand comments from sources to be left unnamed that it was “too fancy,” “not Greek enough,” "desserts better than the food". Curiosity (and nostalgia—I still mourn the slow decline and ultimate demise recently of Ikaros, my go-to Greek restaurant since 1984) finally pulled me in for Saturday lunch with my wife and two daughters. Verdict? This restaurant is great! Location & first impressions Yes, the two-block stretch of Eastern Avenue has seen better days. As we all know, Highlandtown began as a working-class enclave of German and Eastern-European immigrants, then flourished after World War II as Baltimore’s main Greek neighborhood—busy Eastern Avenue diners, bakeries, and middle-class row-homes anchored a tight community around St Nicks. In the 1970s the loss of manufacturing jobs and suburban flight thinned that Greek core; by the 1980s most second-generation families had moved east to the county, leaving vacant storefronts and a declining retail strip. Highlandtown shows the wear of disinvestment—empty buildings, litter, and crime. Estiatorio Plaka is a culinary oasis. There’s a well-lit lot directly across the street, and the area felt safe. Cross the threshold and you’re a world away from the outside: pristine white walls, fancy decor, comfortable tables and chairs, Greek pop on the speakers, and staff greeting you in Greek-accented English. The sparkling new bakery case up front rivals anything I’ve seen in Athens (and easily outshines D.C.). What we ordered Pork souvlaki & hand-cut fries – Charred, juicy, dusted with oregano; fries crisp and perfectly salted. Easily top 1 %—better than most plates I’ve had in Greece. French-bread galaktoboureko – Think custard-filled french toast. The custard is home made. I never knew French bread could taste this good. It's a fancy bougatsa for breakfast. Fried chicken with loukoumades – Light, crackling crust paired with honey-drizzled dough puffs that carried a whisper of brandy. Heaven. Dakos salad – The lone misstep; They have to work on this one. Service & value Servers were warm, knowledgeable, and proud of their menu without hovering. Given the quality of food and the reasonable price, I consider it a bargain. Bottom line Estiatorio Plaka fills the void Ikaros and Samos left behind and then some. It’s now my favorite Greek spot in Baltimore, and I’m already plotting a dinner visit. If you want an authentic, joyful Greek escape, Plaka delivers.

We enjoyed Estatoria Plaka so much that we decided to have a brunch wedding there in March, 2025 : They have amazing rooms upstairs for parties and weddings. We had about 105 people and it was amazing! The lighting for pictures is great. The 2nd room for us to use was awesome for getting ready and for our formal pictures. There is a built-in sound system for the DJ. The price was AMAZING. The food was AMAZING. Our brunch included soup, salad, entrees, sides, non-alcoholic drinks and Greek Pastries. We added on amazing appetizers and the open bar. Antonia's attention to detail and her service were incredible. The bartenders and servers were ON POINT! We didn't have to do anything. Antonia made sure everything was set and ready to go. We got the open bar package for beer, wonderful Greek wines, and Mimosas, but they had the full bar there for anyone that wanted anything else. They provided the set-up for the entire place, including all of the wedding cakes we brought (my sister is a pastry chef) and the tables with table flowers. The wedding and reception were so awesome that people are asking us to have our anniversary party there, so I can't say enough!

Restaurant
Kandahar Afghan Kitchen is a family-owned restaurant that offers flavorful and generous Afghan cuisine. The owner, Mr. Assad Akbari, warmly welcomes guests and shares his culture through the delicious dishes. Visitors praise the friendly staff and the feeling of being treated like family. The menu features a variety of authentic dishes such as Mantu with lentils and meat sauce, seekh, chopan, and flavorful rice.
Came here 15 minutes before closing and was pleasantly surprised they still welcomed us in — really appreciated that! Orders are placed at the counter, and the space is super clean and spacious. We were greeted by Sidiq, who was incredibly friendly and helpful in recommending dishes. We had the mantu as a starter, and it was delicious! The dumpling skin is a bit on the thicker side, but the generous filling balanced it out nicely. The mix of sauces and gravy was packed with flavor. For mains, I had the chicken Kabuli pallow and my husband had the lamb shank. The Kabuli was well-spiced and tasty — I personally would’ve liked a touch more salt, but the chicken itself was nicely seasoned and not dry at all. The lamb shank was super tender and came with fragrant rice and a rich, balanced gravy. Overall, great food and warm hospitality. Would definitely come back to try more

خوش مزه Kandahar is an absolute treasure in the heart of Hampden. My kids and I tried the lamb shank w/ pallow rice, chicken kabob, mantu dumplings, aushak ravioli and it was truly one of the best middle eastern meals we’ve ever had in Baltimore City. The lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender, perfectly seasoned with rich spices that tasted authentic. The pallow rice was incredibly fragrant—light, fluffy, and full of flavor. The owner was attentive and onsite, atmosphere warm and welcoming, and you genuinely feel the care and tradition behind every dish. If you’re looking for a meal that’s both comforting and memorable, this place is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back and try more from their menu!

The food is absolutely delicious! I did catering for my event recently, all my guests were happy and loved the food. They have done an amazing job. They are professionals and will do a flawless catering service. Kandahar is 100% recommend and will be grateful forever for their service and delicious foos.

I’ve had Afghan food at a popular chain restaurant and it doesn’t compare.! This is Afghan food at its best. We were a part of three and ordered the chopped salad, the Kadoo (pumpkin), and banjan laghatak (spicy eggplant with yogurt sauce) for starters. The house made basil vinaigrette on the chopped salad was amazing. They sell it by the jar and I forgot to pick up a jar on our way out. The pomegranate juice is freshly squeezed, not a gram of added sugar, not to sweet but refreshing and delicious. For entree we had the lamb shank- tender and falling off the bone. The rice was not just riceZ it was an entire meal on its own, exquisitely fragranced with (saffron?) raisins, and heavy dose of deliciousness. I closed my eyes in order to savor each flavor. Although we couldn’t finish everything , we still had to order desert. Who turns down freshly made vanilla ice cream with cardamom and dried figs and dates? We sure didn’t. We shared ice cream and a piece of baklava. The ice cream was delightful. I’m not a sweets person, but the baklava was equally delicious. The real deal, light, delicate, layers melted on my tongue. . Thank you Siddiq for a wonderful meal!

Tried the Kabuli Pallow and Kofta Challow - both were absolutely delicious! The restaurant is very clean, service is excellent, and the owner is super friendly. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for authentic Afghan food in Baltimore!

Our meal at Kandahar was delectable. The owner, Sidiq, was solicitous and warm as he guided us through selections on the menu. Everything was high quality, down to the balance of herbs and spices in the basil dressing on the Chopped Salad, and the tangy green sauce which accompanied the bread basket. We ordered the lamb shank which was delivered to the table with a steak knife. Completely unnecessary, as the meat practically fell off of the bone. The lamb was moist, tender and flavorful- served in a rich and unctuous sauce, alongside a fragrant rice dish dotted with raisins and carrots. We finished our meal with cardamom infused vanilla ice cream with dried fruit and baklava. Heaven on a plate! We will be bake, Gd willing. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone desiring authentic Afghan food and the hospitality of owners who know their food, love people and desire to share their culture with Baltimore!!!

I had my first meal at Kandahar with my family tonight. I was amazed by the rich spices and sauces with my meal as well as the friendly and informed advice of our host Sadiq. He suggested we try the pomegranate juice prior to our meal which was phenomenal. We had lamb, chicken, and salmon. Each protein was cooked to perfection and generously portioned. I can only highly recommend Kandahar for the authentic and delicious cuisine with excellent service to boot. Shoutout to Sadiq who made our night that much more special.

Do you have a minute? Let me share my experience. We had a wonderful time as we dined in at Kandahar. We were greeted with a smile as we entered from the very windy and cold 30 degree weather. The staff was kind and welcoming as the offered assistance with the menu. We took our seats as the food was prepared. The food WAS AMAZING and I ate every bite of my Chopan dish of Lamb. What made this experience so wonderful is the authentic atmosphere. As we sat at our table, staff delivered our meals in between going in and out in the freezing weather with SMILE's on their faces putting Christmas decorations outside the restaurant. Who knew, we were going to eat amazing meals but also see a wonderful show of Christmas spirit at the same time ❤️

Indian restaurant
The Verandah Kitchen, located in the vibrant neighborhood of Hampden, has been serving up Indian staples with a unique twist since 2011. The relaxed eatery offers a variety of dishes including small plates, curries, wraps, and tacos. Diners have been savoring assorted chaats and samosas at this establishment for years. The restaurant is known for its well-flavored and rich food, with a particular highlight being the yogurt-topped baked pumpkin appetizer.
Never imagined I can get Indian street food/snacks actually tasting like India in Baltimore. Do try the Jal jeera water, the chaats, vada pao. Everything on menu is just wow !! Perfect to catch up with frnds with some spicy tangy chaats and lot of chats in a cozy happy place.

We loved our experience at Verandah Kitchen. The food was absolutely delicious—every dish packed with flavor and beautifully presented. We ordered a variety of small plates, and each one was a hit. The vibe was perfect—great music, welcoming ambiance, and a space that felt both lively and comfortable. The service was top-notch from start to finish. Warm, attentive, and thoughtful. We even had the chance to meet the owner, who was incredibly kind and engaging—it’s clear this place is run with a lot of heart. We’re already planning our next visit and have a growing list of dishes we’re excited to try. Highly recommend Verandah Kitchen for anyone looking for memorable food and a standout dining experience!

My family and I enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal here. Every small plate that came out was more delicious than the one before. Not to mention, the owner Radhika was just delightful and we enjoyed meeting her. The restaurant is small and intimate, but they easily moved tables to accommodate our party of 5. We have told so many people about the amazing meal we had at The Verandah Kitchen, and we will definitely be back!

This was our first time here and we opted to eat outside right on the sidewalk. Overall, it was a great experience. We ordered 4 small plates + a plain naan. Everything was tasty and well seasoned. We had plenty to eat with the 4 dishes. I am giving the restaurant a 4 rather than a 5 for two reasons: the naan bread is not baked fresh and that’s unfortunate. Also, be aware that 20% service is included in the check. I almost gave another 20% until I realized it was already included. We are planning to return in the summer to try more dishes. P.S. Different freshly baked breads are an important part of an Indian and they enhance the meal.

Have lived in Baltimore for years and this place is a true gem. The depth of flavors in each dish are incredible. There are so many good things on the menu! The service is incredibly attentive and they are so kind. Would recommended 10/10 times. Thanks so much!

I visited with a group of friends who had dined before and loved the food and the vibe. We specifically visited for the goat curry which had a lot of potential but was salty. The meat was tender and the best I have had in Baltimore. We got chilli chicken which was also salty but again, good. The pakoras was good. The shikanji was insanely good. However, my biggest issue with the place is the quantity. The goat curry was not enough for one and costed $25!!! Would highly recommend the place to work on the quantity. It's a little on the expensive side. Would definitely visit again though.
Shruti S — Google review
The restaurant has a good ambience, clean with good staff. Food is extremely average compared to the other Indian restaurants in Maryland. The quantity for the price comparison is not impressive. I definitely would recommend them working more on improving this. Recommend dining in rather than a take out.

Update: they’ve added a host of new dishes and they are delicious. Sorry I’m not good with the names so much as the content. The cabbage, the fish, the paneer chili, and the goat were amazing!!! I should have done one at a time but I was excited. Very much with the return visit. By the way, staff are amazing as well. Okay, the place we were looking for was gone but this place was nearby. Sounded interesting so we stumbled in to find a food paradise. I do recommend the small plates because they are all so good. It’s byob, but a liquor store nearby. The ginger lemonade was amazing. Staff is courteous and efficient, prices are reasonable, we got out for less than 40 a person, not including tip. Update from Xmas 23, Still a food paradise.
