Venezuelan restaurant
Restaurant
Alma Cocina Latina offers a modern space with an open kitchen, serving Latin-inspired soups, salads, arepas, and entrees. Co-owned by Venezuelan-born Irena Stein and led by executive chef Hector Romero, the menu showcases culturally diverse cuisine with indigenous ingredients and international influences. Dishes like Caracas Goes French salad and Crudo Nikkei raw hamachi highlight the fusion of flavors.
The food was outstanding. The atmosphere was great, but the service was really over the top. Our waiter knew everything about all the entrées, all the alcohol and all the drinks history background. It was very informative, entertaining not just talking about ingredients telling a story behind it all, so overall an amazing experience amazing food highly recommended

Wonderful experience at Alma. Beautiful restaurant with beautiful dishes and plate ware. The ambiance was divine. We got tequenos, cauliflower, and hamachi. That was the best hamachi I ever had. It was sweet, tart, and salty. The yellow tail melted in my mouth. The Arroz con Chipi-Chipi reminded me of Paella. The Bienmasabe desert was tasty. It was sponge cake, coconut ice cream and chewy jellies for texture. The punch like a lady cocktail was refreshing not too sweet. Something about having it on the rocks took it over. We were well taken by our servers.

This is by far ONE OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS in Baltimore. We were treated like royalty! Great cocktail recommendations by Kez (Boca del Dragon!!!), wonderful food recommendations (Shrimp Solomo), and a super cool dessert (Strawberry Chantilly)! 💯 would recommend. Loved celebrating our 16th anniversary here.
Anna H — Google review
food quality was less than I had expected. It had flashes of greatness, easily the best gazpacho I've EVER had. And I'm not lying when I say there is no room for improvement on that dish. Coriander and mango sorbet dessert was also wonderful. at the time , steak priced $67, was well seasoned but very , very tough. Better steaks can be had at 1/3rd the price. Service and atmosphere were wonderful. An app we ordered was pork belly and shrimp - the flavors were a little off. Smoky flavor didn't set/mesh well with dish overall. I should have gotten another dish, but I wanted to see how they would prepare a nearly 70 dollar steak, I do better at home to be honest

I’ve been wanting to try Alma Cocina Latina since I moved to the area and last night I was finally able to! 5/25/25. Thank you to Kanae, Mauricio, and Kez! You guys made a great impression and a wonderful experience in addition to a great meal 💜 Shout out to the chefs and line cooks. I can tell that these dishes are carefully thought out and curated. Everything I ate was delicious. Since it was my first visit, and was excited to see so many gluten free items, I wanted to try different dishes! Also, Punch like a lady was soooo good and compliments the food well! I’m a line cook myself and I don’t get to have food cooked for me often, so anytime I’m able to, it’s greatly appreciated. I will be returning, Thank you!

One of the best dining experiences in Baltimore!! We were blown away by the vegetarian food options, they were all unique, balanced, and delicious. Great ambiance (what amazing plants!) and cocktails. Extra thank you to Spencer and Momo for the incredible service. Can’t wait to go back!

Very hard to find authentic yummy Latin food in baltimore. They have paella! Large, unique menu. The food is bursting with flavor, even down to the salad! Great service. Wish I got more pictures.

Lovely experience here. The decor is gorgeous, there is a light and airy atmosphere yet the space still has an intimate feel. We ordered the calamari app, chicken takari, pabellòn, and passion fruit mocktails. As others have mentioned, the portions are on the smaller side but the food is so flavorful it doesn't even matter. The staff were all very attentive. Upon leaving we were approached by a complete stranger and one of the owners noticed and quickly intervened. Much appreciated. I will definitely be back.

Mexican restaurant

Restaurant
Clavel is a Mexican-inspired bar and eatery located in the Remington neighborhood. The restaurant offers a minimalist yet cozy ambiance with hip hanging lights, wooden furniture, and plenty of green plants. The menu features elevated cuisine including dishes like lengua and huitlacoche tacos with housemade tortillas. The bar boasts an impressive selection of mezcal, offering an educational experience for those unfamiliar with the spirit.
The food is flavorful, it tasted amazing! The place is so well decorated that it makes you feel like you’re in the desert in a good way! Everything was just right! Must try for sure in Baltimore! The chicken mole taco was one of my favorites! I had no complaints it’s a great place all & all. Book ahead a very popular place.

Hey there 👋🏾, I'm Ray and I have an opinion ☝🏾! The food here was really enjoyable. Endearing up spending my pre-birthday dinner here and it was a great choice. Not only was the food good but the atmosphere was a buzz. Sure people were to themselves, it's Baltimore, but everyone was in good spirits, conversing and having a good time. Service was good too, for the most part. I'd go again and would recommend.
Ray M — Google review
Clavel serves up excellent Mexican cuisine, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere that sets the perfect mood for a great meal. The service is friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. My favorite was their street tacos, absolutely incredible! The margarita not only refreshing but paired well with dinner. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Mexican flavors in a cozy setting!
Mike S — Google review
For Baltimore, vibes were GREAT - it was packed and LOUD! I would not recommend for families with kids or elderly as the noise can get a little loud, if you’re young that should not be a problem at all. 🎉 Decor was beautiful and what you’d love to see in a Mexican restaurant! Service was great too! I’d highly recommend their watermelon mezcal cocktail, that was sooo good! Food was okay. Maybe it’s good for Baltimore’s standard since it was crowded with a line. But coming from out of town, I’d go only for drinks, dessert (flan) and vibes 😉

I came here for the first time on a Monday night and it was really busy there. We were able to get a seat immediately and the food and service was excellent! I was amazed on how attentive are server was for how busy it was. The food and drinks were all quick to come out.

Waiter did a great job with recommendations. Still thinking about the mock tail he recommended for me. I don’t remember its name but it had bell peppers. Vegetarian options are ok, the meat dishes just looked better
Anna — Google review
The staff is very polite, attentive and were happy to answer questions about meal and their large beverage menu! The food was so good! The tacos and fish were tasty! I would definitely visit again!
Steve S — Google review
We went on a Wednesday for the first time, and the place was packed to the gills. We went to see if we could be seated and was quoted a pretty long wait time. The hostess said to hang tight bc it she was pretty sure she could get is in before 40 mins. I wasn't so sure because there were almost no tables available. I even started to Google looking for nearby restaurants. This lady was on point! She got us seated in about 15 minutes, and the service was polite and fast. Not to mention, the food was fresh and tasty. They treated all customers fairly no matter the background. To be seated and served. The brisket pop up on the menu was good. We will try them once more.

Asian restaurant

Restaurant
Ekiben is a popular Asian fusion restaurant known for its unique steamed buns, bowls, and small plates. The restaurant started as a food cart at the Fells Point Farmers Market and has now expanded to three locations in the Baltimore area. One of their signature dishes is the Neighborhood Bird sandwich, featuring Taiwanese curry fried chicken thigh with spicy sambal mayo and pickles on a Bao bun.
Amazing food, perhaps the best in Baltimore. And portions are huge. Just wish they’d put slightly more sauce. But this is my go to place when in the city. I recommend that you absolutely try their bird bowl. And if you’re vegan, the “what the bird eats” is my second favorite dish. Everything I’ve tried here is amazing though.
A G — Google review
The Neighborhood Bird Bun was legitimately one of the best things I've tasted in recent memory. It was also very unique as I have not seen this kind of combination of ingredients/flavors before. Initially I thought the price would probably not be worth it for just 1 bun but the portion was quite big and I'd be happy to pay that price if I wanted to eat this again. The big negative, at least for me was the extremely loud music with the bass turned up to 1000%. Maybe the employees like it (cannot be good for their ears) as well as their usual demographic but really was not for me. Practically speaking, the music made it difficult to hear the names when they called out the ready orders, obviously as well as engaging in conversation. Many times we couldn't tell if they said my name or not when an order was ready. If I get this again I will definitely do to go and put in an order ahead of time. Other than that, usually at these casual kind of places I don't have anything to say about the service but here the employees were noticeably very friendly. Eating the bun was very messy so be prepared for that.
Yiran L — Google review
Stop scrolling and stop in. It’s one of the best places I’ve ever ate! Flavorful and unexpected pairings. I sure love this spot. Good came quick for how busy they were. 1000/10.
Anne S — Google review
Health: While fried food doesn’t lend itself to the most healthy diet, the blend of white rice, kimchi, and legitimate Asian/American fusion veggies tossed in soy sauce and not grilled in oil balances it out. Price: For this taste and portion size? Excellent. Though not particularly “low”. Definitely satisfying though. Experience: The most “alive” and “trendy” food scene in Baltimore. Small restaurant, big heart. I got my second meal there for free due to being a government medical researcher during furlough. But regardless, clean, convenient, and speedy. Great on all accounts. Taste: A genuinely unique Asian/American fusion. Where other locations will rehash food drowned in oil, this place takes the best American and East Asian food elements and balances them excellently. Asian sauces over fried chicken. White rice with kimchi. Large protein and veggie portions with rice accompaniment (that’s the actual way real Asian food is served by the way). Honestly unique and Amazing. Yeah I’m coming back here again. And I already have. So is everyone else in town. A core port of Baltimore’s food scene. A cornerstone of Asian/American fusion in general. Food and culture wise.

Ekiben is one of the best spots in Baltimore! The food is amazing.. fresh, flavorful, and always delicious. The service is super fast and friendly, which makes the whole experience even better. On top of that, they’re giving free meals to government employees during the shutdown. Such an incredible gesture that shows how much they value their community. Ekiben is the kind of place that makes you proud to support a local business. Highly recommend!
Maddie M — Google review
Yup. It is true. It was packed and for good reason. I had the neighborhood bird (not spicy) on a bun and it was very perfect 😊 the bun did get a bit soggy because it took me 30mins to get home, so the bottom part was a bit softer and squeezy, but it was delicious. The chicken is super juicy and tender, the outside is light and crispy, the sauce was like a honey bbq creamy thing with a bit of tang. The herbs complement it beautifully (i dont like cilantro but i always order things the way they were design and i tweak them, so i left some cilantro and it was great. Totally recommend. The rice bowl is probably great with that sauce 🤤 it was almost sweet, i will try the spicy next time
Lucy N — Google review
If you’ve visited Baltimore and haven’t yet been to Ekiben, this is your sign to make your way today! Ekiben is the definition of unique flavors & a depth of culture. Their menu is a fusion of Asian & Ethiopian cuisine, an unexpected yet insanely good combination! With locations in 3 staple areas of Baltimore city, you’ll experience not only great food but also the opportunity to explore all the sweet gems Baltimore has to offer. My top 3 picks from the menu which are a must when you visit are: ramen broccoli (perfect cooked in tempura batter seasoned with a “tangy” blend of spices); Red beans & Rice (vegan friendly dish of cooked lentils over rice topped w/ a fresh tomato & onion blend); & of course the shrimp (really any of them because you can’t go wrong). Ekiben is definitely a staple and somewhere that warrants frequent visits. I highly recommend!
Karis H — Google review
Ekiben is one of those Baltimore spots you just have to try. We stopped in on a Friday afternoon right before the rush hit, which was perfect timing since it did get busy. I ordered the Neighborhood Bird and went for the spicy version. It took a little longer than I expected to come out, but honestly it was well worth the wait. The chicken was super juicy inside, perfectly crispy outside, with just the right amount of heat. Some people might find it overly spicy, but for me it was spot on. The herbal mayo added a rich, creamy balance that really tied it all together. The steamed bao buns themselves were excellent. Super soft and pillowy, they tasted fresh and likely made in-house or locally. Pro tip: Eat your sandwich as soon as you get it so the chicken keeps all its crunch and texture. It’s a fast-casual spot with both dine-in and takeout options. The interior was clean and inviting, and the bathrooms were well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful even as the place got busier. Price-wise, my sandwich was about $14–$15. Sure, that might seem a bit much for a casual lunch, but the portion was solid and it definitely filled me up. All in all, Ekiben is a great spot in Baltimore for bold, flavorful food. If you’re craving a killer steamed bun sandwich, this is the place. Highly recommend checking it out. Rating: 4.5/5 stars.

Oyster bar restaurant

Raw food restaurant
Dylan's Oyster Cellar is a charming rustic bar and restaurant located in Hampden, Baltimore. It was founded by oyster expert Dylan Salmon, who initially tested his concept in a Mt. Vernon basement before opening the brick-and-mortar establishment. The restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring seasonal seafood, including traditional Maryland coddies, fried oyster sandwiches, and even a green chili cheeseburger with Southwestern flavors.
My absolute favorite restaurant in Baltimore! Despite growing up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland eating Chesapeake Bay oysters out of the half shell since I was 3, I didn’t really know oysters until I went here. This was the place that made me realize oysters can vary greatly in flavor. Depending on the day, you can choose from oysters from Maine, New Brunswick, Washington state, Prince Edward Island, and, of course, Maryland and Virginia. Everything on the menu is to die for, and the atmosphere is chill, cozy, and welcoming. No pretentiousness accompanying the high-quality food. Don’t eat seafood? No problem! The burger is the best burger in Baltimore — a mouthwatering smash burger that’s always on the menu. The coddie, a Baltimore tradition, is a must-try. Get the Stern Fern for a cocktail. All the fish are delicious too. I prefer to get there when they open at 5 and snag a seat at the bar.

Called for a last minute stop as we were driving by town. Got a table outdoors, which was nice for a summer evening. Lovely staff, great array of raw oysters. Soft shell crab sandwich was excellent, as was the white fish pate. Great neighborhood gem.

Great Neighborhood Oyster House situated on a Corner in Hampden .The Food , Service and atmosphere are all so , so good ! They have one of THE best Burgers in town . It’s flavorful , moist ..simply delish .

Good food and drinks - pricey. And you’ll read about an oyster happy hour which is no longer the case. In fact, the waitress answered me like I was a lunatic for asking about it while sitting at the bar.
Jakob P — Google review
My husband and I had the best time sitting at the bar last night! We tried 3 different types of oysters, and they were all so fresh and expertly shucked. It was fun watching the process from the bar. Also the mignonette was delish. Great atmosphere, great vibes, great food -- excited to return!

Had raw & broiled oysters, burger, trout and cauliflower. Everything was DELICIOUS! That was the best trout I have ever eaten. The skin was crispy, the flesh tender and buttery. The broiled oysters should be served with bread, so you can enjoy all the buttery goodness.

CookHouse is a stunning establishment in the historic neighborhood of Bolton Hill. The space itself is remarkable, boasting beautiful decor and cozy seating options. The menu offers an impressive selection of dishes and drinks that are sure to please any palate. From the delightful Dayana cocktail, made with infused gin, egg white, and edible flowers, to appetizers like mouthwatering blue cheese-stuffed dates and ever-changing croquettes, the culinary experience at CookHouse is top-notch.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I would definitely come back! The food was absolutely delicious. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were amazing, they answered all our questions and gave us suggestions on drinks for what they thought we would like. It was great service.

Nice/quaint restaurant in Baltimore with amazing food, attentive staff, and awesome bartenders. No reservations restaurant but worth arriving on time. Menu constantly changes and not very extensive but you can tell each dish was made with attention to detail and presentation of food (and drinks!) that taste great. Chef's background (Spain, Venezuela and England) shows up with unique twist of flavors in the food for an enjoyable experience.

Gabe and Bret are cocktail craftsmen. Both are true artisans of the craft. Incredible bourbon selection to pick from and both gentlemen were friendly and knowledgeable. The Food?!🤤 I had the Jidori Egg caviar ( and CLEARLY) I have been getting the wrong type of eggs. It was soft, creamy and set atop a slice of brioche toast, that tasted like it was pan seared in duck fat. The flavors merged beautifully and it was perfection in each bite. Very decadent. I also had their play on Crème Brûlée for dessert. Bar service was exceptional and engaging. Will definitely be back. 10 outta 10, top tier.
J W — Google review
These bartenders are good .. really good cocktails, and most of the food options we tried were right up there too. Steak Frites in particular was excellent. Busy evening, service was a bit slow, the only hiccup.
Sandor P — Google review
Hyper seasonal menus, delightful food and impeccable service! This place will not disappoint. Make sure to try the cocktails. Some of the most beautiful and creative in the city.
Jaclyn W — Google review
A bit regretting coming to celebrate my husbands birthday because even after mentioning it, it wasn’t acknowledged at all. Cocktails are very balanced , black manhattan and espresso martini were both delicious and beautiful. Scallops were ok but didn’t give elote flavor profile and the potatoes served with were ice cold like straight out of the fridge which was not expected, scallops were slightly overcooked. Rigatoni was quite tasty. Service was ok, we arrived right at 6 so there was a line but we were all promptly greeted within minutes of seating. But it was very “hello, sparkling or still, take your order, get you drinks, dessert, check” so pleasantries or personality. No mid meal check ins to see how we enjoyed the meal. No management was present. Later in the evening the two tables sat on either side of us went quite a while without getting greeted, the woman had to ask for service and was sat at a table not fully set. This didn’t live up to the hype or expectation, but it was enjoyable. Not noteworthy at all for a $250+ meal for a party of 2. They either need to step up their quality of service and consistency of dishes or lower the menu price point. I gave 4stars in hopes it was maybe an off night but I won’t be back. Too many great eats in the city. Would’ve been better off just having a cocktail at the bar and going elsewhere for our celebration. Also to add: the signage and website is off- they in fact were open on Tuesday and the steak night is $32 not $29 as the website states. A non issue for us but worth mentioning
Kayla J — Google review
Everything here ranges from great to amazing. Even better the menu is always changing so you never have the same meal twice. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore. Best cheesecake I’ve ever had!

Restaurant
The Food Market, located in Hampden with a second location in Columbia, offers a unique dining experience. The restaurant is known for its quirky and playful atmosphere, featuring art-filled walls and a bustling bar area. Chef-owner Chad Gauss presents creative American cuisine with one-of-a-kind riffs on familiar foods such as cheesesteak steamed buns and Corn off the Cob beignets. The smartly designed industrial-modern space focuses on serving sustainable cuisine made from locally sourced ingredients.
I have been here many times, but realized I never wrote a review so there’s no better time than now to share my thoughts. We recently visited the food market because of their customer appreciation event where they were offering 50% off the entire menu. This was something new as I don’t believe I remember them doing this type of event, but it was so thoughtful of the restaurant to do this. Regardless of the discount this restaurant is a must visit as they are consistently producing top-notch quality dishes. Not to mention, the service was amazing given how crowded the restaurant was this particular day. Our server Nadeen was amazing. She was attentive, prompt, and made sure we were well taken care of. This restaurant is suitable for families or just as perfect for those looking for a more intimate date night. However, because of its location, location they don’t have a designated parking area therefore it is a street parking situation. Now moving onto the food ! They have a pretty decent number of items on their menu and I think at this point I have tried just about everything and I can’t say that I dislike any items. I’ve tried so far. However, I will share some of my favorites. I love their giant mozzarella stick. Considering it size it somehow still stays altogether and super crunchy with just the right amount of cheese pull. We also got their street corn wedge salad, and that was amazing. It was super light and paired so nicely with the ranch and the shrimp. And of course, they’re famous cheesesteaks also delicious with very tender pieces of meat paired with their really soft chewy bread. And while I’m not one for mocktails I got their Gucci lemonade, and it was so refreshing, not overly sweet and paired perfectly with my meal!

Started coming here in 2018 for special occasions and I do think it’s gotten a bit worse over the years. Previously, the food would stand out as some of the best and most creative, and now I’m not sure if I would really remember the last meal. When paying a premium for food, I do hold it to higher standards after spending $200 on a meal. Steak was a bit over medium rare. Partner’s steak was under. Lobster Mac and cheese was just not good. Not enough cheese sauce and the noodles were a bit dry, tossed with a few chunks of seafood. Fries were a bit soggy. Drinks and app were delicious. Tables were so cheap, my husband leaned on it to get up and the whole thing toppled over.

I was looking for another restaurant but I really believe my Google maps womsn dont like me she sent me the wrong way and I was so hungry and standing right in front of this restaurant so I went here. so I had chicken cheesesteak egg roll which is wonderful. I but into it and the juice from the meat flew out. it wasn't greasy fried just right the meat season well. just one of the best I ever had. I also had the lobster roll which wasn't good too much mayo and no seasoned. my friend had the cream of soup which he enjoyed and the street tacos which he said was just ok. but i did enjoy the French fries that came with each dish very crispy and nice crunch to each.

5/21/2025 - The last time I ate here was in 2017, and I loved it. We would come several times a month. The service received from the hostess station throughout the entire restaurant was excellent. Our waitress was attentive and didn't forget a thing whenever an item was needed. She absolutely didn't mind handling my requests. The bathrooms were clean. The tables and booths were also clean. Unfortunately, some restaurants that have wooden tabletops are sticky. Unfortunately, the food wasn't so great and very pricey for the quantity and quality. Cream of Crab Soup was shockingly delicious. It was luke warm. I'm thankful that I ordered it because everything went down hill quickly after the soup. I added extra crab meat for $10, which made my bowl of soup $24. I think that they make their soup with very little crab meat to force patrons to pay $10 for the crab meat that it's missing. 1/2 N 1/2 aka Arnold Palmers are a whopping $6 per glass. If you don't know what these are......a glass with 1/2 iced tea and 1/2 lemonade. They were unsweetened and tasteless. Wow! Gucci Lemonade (blackberry lemonade) was almost as bad as the Arnold Palmers. Steak Frites (NY Strip) was small for the price. It was tastless and rubbery. $43 Steak Frites (Wagyu) was tough and tasteless. I think that I was lied to because I've NEVER had Wagyu taste like this or be this difficult chew. $45 The steak entrées were served on top of dessert menus. Why in the heck would management allow this to occur. Just place them on the table. This was weird on every level. Stop it! Fresh Cut Fries, of course, were good but needed to be salted. Chimichurri Potatoe Salad was tastless with humongous chunks of potatoes. We spent almost $200 for two Cream of Crab Soups and two orders of fresh cut fries because they were the only items that were actually worth eating. It was shocking to come to an expensive restaurant and not be offered fresh pepper and sea salt shakers. I think that this restaurant charges patrons enough money to be able to afford to offer us better salt and pepper options. I packed up 95% of my meal in hopes of fixing it at home. We were not pleased with this experience at all. Great restaurant if you have Diabeties or dietary restrictions because nothing is seasoned and/or if you want to waste money on overpriced mediocre meals. 7/4/25 - Someone from out of town begged to go to The Food Market, so here I am again. Nicks Double Burger was ok. Had a nice amount of sauce. The sauce made it so the burger didn't need mustard and ketchup. The beef had no flavor. Cut Fries aren't FRESH at all. They must be bagged fries. $5 ummmm, not worth it, especially for the portion given. Deep Fried French Toast was terribly greasy.....YUK! Who came up with this awful idea?

The food was delicious!!! We got 3 or 4 appetizers and 5 entree's between 4 of us. The prices were good, the drinks were good but the food was too due for!!! If I'm ever in the area again I'll be back! I didn't get photos of the appetizers but we got the lamb chops, meatballs and pork belly. We got 2 blackened tuna entree's, a burger, the steak tartae and the duck lo mein. Everything was so good and I'm glad they had a mocktail/ Virgin cocktail options as well. I got the Gucci lemonade. The blackened tuna was too die for and was definitely my favorite, especially the salad that comes with it and the sweet potatoe Rangoon. We had a reservation for 7.30pm on a Thursday night. The place was packed, I do not know how long the wait would've been if we didn't have a reservation. In total our bill was around $235 before tip. This included 5 meals, 3 appetizers (they also give you fancy popcorn for the table), 1 mocktail, 1 beer, 1 cocktail and a soda. For 4 people it wasn't bad and we only had a little bit of leftovers because we were all starving and saving room for dessert.

My husband and I loved this place. It was our first visit and we were not disappointed. We ordered Beets by Chad, Fajitas and the Salmon BLT. The food was phenomenal and the service was too. We're visiting from North Carolina and The Food Market will definitely be on my list of places to visit when I'm here.

Happy hour is good. I had the garlic shrimp and cheesesteak bao buns. 3 stars because they changed the portion size of the crab balls for the spicy pasta and it used to come with melted mozzarella cheese on top. For $36, the crab is super minimal and not even jumbo lump. Maybe the Columbia location is better.

Petit Louis Bistro is a charming French restaurant located in north Baltimore, offering a cozy and classy atmosphere with a touch of casual elegance. The bistro has been a local favorite for over two decades and is known for its fixed-price Civilized Lunch menu, which includes three courses at an affordable price.
We celebrated a birthday at Petite Louis!I enjoyed the Salmon & my friend ordered the Quiche! The awesome staff put a candle on her chocolate dessert 🍫 I loved lime/grapefruit ice cream!🍦What a great place to have a fun time!

Fantastic dinner location for any special occasion or nice evening. We ordered the mussels, trout, and vegetable gnocchi. All were cooked perfectly, and superbly prepared. The drink special - a rose spritz - was also great. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a more upscale dinner in Baltimore.

We celebrated our 9-year anniversary at Petit Louis Bistro, and overall the experience was wonderful. The atmosphere was lively and authentic, though seating was quite close together, which made it a little noisy at times. Parking was also slightly challenging, but once inside we were immediately impressed with the warm service. We had reservations and, even though we were running late, the staff kindly accommodated us without issue. Dinner started with the Soupe à L’Oignon Gratinée—rich, flavorful, and a perfect classic—and the Tomato Bisque, which was creamy and satisfying. For entrées, the Flanc de Veau Grillé with caper brown butter and fennel & arugula salad was cooked beautifully, while the Steak Frites with pommes frites and beurre maître d’hôtel was hearty and delicious. We ended the night with a flawless crème brûlée, crisp on top and luxuriously smooth underneath. Despite the minor inconveniences, Petit Louis made our anniversary dinner truly memorable, and we look forward to returning.

What a wonderful meal in an adorable French restaurant! We started with the escargot and eggplant appitizers. For meals we shared the duck confit and beef cheeks. Most recommended: Beef Cheeks, so comforting and delicious. Escargot was decadent. Must go! Be ready for a big bill and a full tummy!
Estee H — Google review
I enjoyed eating here, however I don't feel the cost is justified. I also didn't like the amount of fries given to us for our meals which felt like a filler for a place I am spending alot on. Overall, it's not bad at all, just not for their price point.
David ( — Google review
The mussels were full of sand and clearly not cleaned properly. If it was just one or two, I could overlook it, but almost every single one was gritty! It felt like the kitchen staff didn’t bother to clean them at all. The duck breast was completely unchewable and overcooked, despite ordering medium rare. Compared to the tender and juicy duck breast I’ve enjoyed at other places, this one fell far short. The duck leg had crispy skin, which was nice, but the meat itself was quite tough. The roasted chicken was dry except for a few pieces near the leg. As for the crème brûlée—it was, honestly, the worst I’ve ever had—overwhelmingly sweet and far from enjoyable. On the bright side, the service was good, and given the restaurant’s high rating (4.7), I’d like to think my experience was more of an unfortunate one-off rather than a consistent issue.

What an excellent and memorable meal... shame on me for living in Baltimore for so long and somehow never dining here until now! Everything we ordered was so perfectly prepared, presented and delicious, the service was stellar, and I loved the cozy French bistro atmosphere on a cold winter night. I'll be coming back just for the incredible French Onion Soup alone (but look forward to trying some of the other dishes too!)

Basque restaurant
Restaurant
La Cuchara is an elegant eatery in Baltimore, offering an intimate atmosphere and serving Basque cuisine such as pintxos and tapas. In response to current times, the restaurant has transformed into a virtual grocery store where customers can shop from home and pick up their items. The marketplace offers a variety of grocery options including vegetables, fresh herbs, cheeses, meat, pantry items, prepared foods, and a wide selection of alcohol for carryout.
Outstanding Meal! La Cuchara delivers top-notch Basque flavors. The mussels was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was absolutely fantastic — rich, flavorful, and balanced. Duck Magret was tender and juicy, with sides that elevated the whole dish. The lamb shoulder was smoky, juicy, and paired beautifully with the accompanying vegetables. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the wine list was well-curated.
Daniel H — Google review
Even though the restaurant leans toward the fine dining/luxury side in pricing, the experience felt more like fast food. The waiters rush you to eat and leave, which completely takes away from any chance to enjoy the meal. It’s also too noisy to have a comfortable dinner. On top of that, a 22% tip was automatically added—not required, but definitely made to feel obligatory.
GONCA Y — Google review
La Cuchara is definitely worth a visit. Parking is directly out font and there were plenty of spaces on a Saturday evening. We made a reservation in advance, but they also gave a large bar area. The menu includes small bites, tapas, entrees, and tinned seafood options. Once seated, they give you a few slices of their fresh baked bread, and you can order a loaf to take home! We loved the onion and garlic bread. There is quite a lot to choose from on the main menu and they have a large wine list. We ordered the 12-month aged Jamon (to die for), the shrimp, oyster fritters, and lobster broth mushrooms. Our service was great- thanks to Amanda for some bread to take home after they ran out of the onion/garlic bread. Attentive service and friendly staff.

Don’t seem to recall how this made it to my hit list. I’m glad it was. Since we were not as hungry, we ordered small plates like croquetas, small empanadas, candy bar dessert, and fried oysters to share. The only disappointment was not having jamon iberico on the menu. Will certainly go again to try the wines and anything grilled. They have the grill I’ve seen in Spain. Service was attentive.
Mark B — Google review
I went to La Cuchara to celebrate my partner's birthday! The restaurant location is great, from being right next to the lightrail and also having parking. I think the ambiance is great and the paintings on display by Julia Gould are really nice. We had the marinated manchego (very unique, and we especially liked the pear sauce!). The croquettes are really good, but the jamon croquettes definitely do not need that sauce. The sauce is too bitter, but the croquettes are great. The spinach and gruyere was everything to write home about and really surprised me by being that delicious. The servers were SUPER attentive. The bread for the table was nice, I just wish it was toasted or semi-warm. Having cold bread does not allow for the butter to melt and that is not ideal for me. However, moving on to the tapas, the trout was excellent (I admired the roasted tomatoes), and the patatas bravas were as my friend put it a "bumper," but not a "banger." The seasoning was good, but it also had that bitter red sauce that the jamo croquettes had to. In the future, I would opt out of that sauce or ask for an alternate. The servers were also kind to point out anything we might not have known especially for our friend who was allergic to shellfish (please be aware that they fry seafood in the same oil, so that is a risk for anyone who is allergic) but they were phenomenal about communicating that with us and letting us know alternates that we could order or parts to remove. Overall, I really liked the lamb shoulder (so decadent!!! And yummy!!!) The mushrooms/morels were great too! I also really admired the earl grey tea pudding (?) That was so nice and really a unique type of sweetness. I got great vibes from the restaurant and would love to go again for another special occasion.

The cozy ambiance, attentive service, and delectable dishes at Hersh’s offer a memorable dining experience that captures the comforting essence of Italian cuisine.
Back to Hersh's for date night and still very satisfied. I cannot not get something off the homemade pasta menu. Tried the Rye-violi this time and it was fantastic. The bite and flavors were amazing. Stayed for dessert and that's never a bad idea. Plenty of unique cocktail/wine/beer selections. Great staff and awesome atmosphere. Can't wait to come back! Highly recommend!

We had the best meal on our visit to Baltimore at Hersh's! I had a pizza - Lari B was delicious! The Stracciatella was amazing! Hersh's did not disappoint! I did not get a pic of the foccacia bread appetizer, but it was the bread service I've had. We ordered the Salami Mommy pizza and the Meatball Calzone. Both were fantastic. The cocktails were nice but very small. Their take on Egg Nog with tequila and sherry was a bit of a miss for me. The food more than made up for it. I may stick with wine here next time. This will be a definite add-in to our rotation.

I am so glad that we stumbled upon this amazing restaurant! We were driving through Baltimore on our trip back to Boston and were looking for a place to eat dinner. I was really happy with my visit to this restaurant! The interior is warm and cozy, with soft, pleasant lighting. I didn’t expect to get a green pasta — I was a bit skeptical at first. Heck yeah. I had gotten delivery here a few times in the past but never actually it the in person dining. It was pretty great. And yeah the ma po is still probably the best ma po I’ve had. This place is awesome! The food is fresh and hot and they bring it to you when it's ready. They are a Coke (in a can and yesterdaythe can was cold which is my favorite!!) place and also have a bar. Every dish we have had has been delicious! Love the small plate/dim sum/tapas selections as well as the other specialties. The chef is Peter Chang who is a James Beard awarded chef and it is easy to see why. I just cannot say enough good things about his food. Can't wait to go back again!

My husband and I had a little brunch date at NiHao in Baltimore after hearing numerous recommendations, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We came for the all-you-can-eat dim sum and ended up ordering nine dishes—every single one was fantastic! My personal favorite was the vegan cucumber salad, while my husband’s favorite was the pork belly. The spicy dishes had a nice, but tolerable, kick and packed with flavor. We both thought the Mongolian beef was just the tiniest bit too salty, but overall, we had no complaints. The food, service, and atmosphere were all wonderful, and we’re already looking forward to coming back again! Highly recommend if you're looking for a delicious and fun brunch spot.
Ashlina R — Google review
NiHao’s new all-you-can-eat dim sum & tapas brunch is hands down one of the best brunch experiences I’ve had in Baltimore. For $32, you get access to a beautifully curated menu filled with elevated dim sum and creative small plates. The vibe is casual-chic, and the service was warm and attentive. I almost couldn’t stop ordering. Har gao (crystal shrimp dumplings) are one of my all-time favorite dim sum dishes, and NiHao’s version did not disappoint—delicate, flavorful, and perfectly steamed. But the real surprise? The hot chili oil ma po tofu. I almost never order tofu when there’s meat on the menu, but this one was packed with depth, spice, and that addictive umami flavor. I can’t stop thinking about it! Add a pink mimosa or house beer for $6 and you’ve got a new weekend ritual. Reservations highly recommended. I’m already planning my next visit.

I absolutely love and yearn for two types of food: Pakistani Food and Szechuan style food… I’ve been a fan of Peter Chang’s restaurants for many years, since first trying his location in Short Pump over 10 years ago. I’ve tried the other NiHao in Crystal City and really liked it…. Also tried his Peter Chang location here in Baltimore and enjoyed the food as well, so I really have been wanting to try this particular NiHao for a while and finally did today. Going in on a Saturday, I got there about 10 mins before they opened and waited… I was the only one outside when I first got there, but about 15 mins after they opened, they had a steady stream of customers walking in. I sat at the bar and was taken care of quite nicely by Jennifer. She provided great info on how some dishes were prepared, as well as offering good, friendly service. All the food I ordered came out quickly and was very fresh and tasty. I loved everything, from the cucumbers to the bamboo fish – it was all excellent! Highly recommend stopping in, especially for brunch on the weekends. But make a reservation, as they are quite popular!

Tried their vegetarian spring rolls — crispy and filled with a flavorful veggie mix. Best enjoyed piping hot! The real highlight was the egg fried rice and mapo tofu combo — absolutely next level. The egg fried rice had a smoky wok hei, with small bits of egg and scallions that added so much flavor. The mapo tofu was outstanding — spicy from the chilli oil and delivering that signature numbing kick from Sichuan peppercorns. Definitely a spot I’ll revisit just for the mains — they’re that good.

The cafe caters to various dietary needs, including gluten-free options that don't compromise on flavor. Featured on the Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, it has become a favorite among locals and tourists alike. The family-friendly atmosphere and diverse menu make it a popular choice for breakfast and lunch.
Fantastic! We picked this place on a whim looking for one of the best brunch spots in Baltimore and we were very happy with the selection. Once we arrived, we saw how much acclaim Miss Shirley's has received, such as from Restaurant Hospitality Magazine and Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. I can see why! To start, I really enjoyed the pimento cheese biscuit and the Shirley's Crush cocktail was quite refreshing. For my main, I went with the Southern Slammer Sandwich, which already sounded good but I couldn't pass up a winner of the best breakfast sandwich in America according to Restaurant Hospitality Magazine. Absolutely delicious. I loved the simple ingredients yet their flavor together was unforgettable. A great sandwich and not overly heavy in my opinion. The stone ground grits were incredible as well. Ester provided great service during our brunch. It sounds like we got pretty lucky with a 30 minute wait as we heard it can get pretty busy. Definitely worth the wait!

First time.. came from a tiktok recommendation! Food was decent, I wouldn't go back for 2nd. Nice outside view to sit and eat. Its more on the pricey side here! Server was good! My friend did not like the egg whites, it was corrected but still wasn't to her liking. The manager did come by a follow-up which was nice.

First time at Miss Shirley’s and it did not disappoint! Our server Ryan was attentive and so sweet. I ordered their Crab Hash and Fries Green Tomato Eggs Benedict and I will forever dream about how delicious it was. Was also ordered the Pimento Cheese Biscuits which were heavenly with the strawberry jam. Would recommend this place to anyone traveling from out of town who really wants a good breakfast!

I haven’t been to Miss Shirley’s in a few years and the food is still good. The shrimp and grits are a must have along with the new fruit drinks they now offer. One slight inconvenience is having to leave the restaurant and go to a different floor in the building to use the restroom. That just a minor set back for a nice brunch spot near the harbor.

Afghan restaurant
Restaurant
The Helmand, an Afghan restaurant located in Mount Vernon, has been a local landmark since 1989. It is renowned for introducing Middle Eastern cuisine to the area and continues to set the standard for ethnic eateries in Baltimore. The elegant space adorned with tapestries has earned it numerous accolades and awards over the years. One of its most celebrated dishes is the kaddo borwani, a tenderly baked and pan-fried baby pumpkin served with yogurt garlic sauce.
9/17/2025 My first afghan restaurant and on a nice rainy day. I ended up here with help of the timeleft app, was seated as soon as I walked in the door. I started with the AUSHAK and a glass of white wine. Both were great I love how tender the pasta is, the yogurt mixed with the cilantro sauce( they give for the table) by far is the best combo. The naan was thick and such a good touch to soak up all the pasta sauce. Ended up the meal with the afghan style ice cream which had a taste that I was not used to. I loved the fresh fruits and the cardamom in the ice cream had my tastebuds singing. The seating has 2 areas and a nice little bar in the back. I noticed a new customers coming in and requesting single seating which was not a problem for this spot. Our server was very punctual clearing plates, getting refills I just would have loved to hear about the new items and drinks that were on the table before I ordered. Bathroom rating:5/5

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3.3/5 stars We visited The Helmand on a Thursday night and were surprised to find it almost completely empty. Just two other diners were in the entire restaurant, which gave it a strange, somewhat lifeless vibe for a place that gets so much hype online. The decor feels a bit outdated, and honestly, they could probably use some marketing help to get more people through the door. It really didn’t feel like a spot that’s supposed to be one of Baltimore’s most famous Afghan restaurants. That said, the service was excellent. The servers were super attentive, always checking on us and refilling our water without us having to ask. They were polite and knowledgeable about the menu. The food itself was… fine. A lot of the menu revolves around lamb, which was cooked well enough but didn’t blow us away. Flavors were decent, but nothing stood out as particularly memorable. It’s the sort of meal where you finish full and satisfied but not raving about it afterward. We didn’t try any of the wine or coffee, so can’t comment on those, but the prices were fair for the amount of food we got. Overall, it was a solid experience, but I’m just not sure it deserves the level of hype it gets online. Tasty, but not amazing. If you’re curious about Afghan food or just want something different, it’s worth trying at least once, but don’t go in expecting to be completely wowed.

I was first a little skeptical of visiting because I had previously DoorDash'd food from The Helmand and wasn't super enthused. However, they really delivered when it comes to in-house meals. I visited with a party of over 10 and they were able to accomodate us and serve us quickly. They have lots of fantastic vegetarian options revolving around rice, lentils, and curries. Everything we had was colorful and flavorful. Would definitely love to visit again.

We’d heard about The Helmand for years and finally got around to visiting. Went on a Wednesday evening. The naan was the best I’ve ever had. The mantwo was a good appetizer. We both had lamb shank as our entrees and really enjoyed it. The kabuli rice that came with it was extremely good. For our first time having Afghan food, I found it to be well flavored and tasty. The staff was very attentive as well. I would absolutely return.

This restaurant has gone downhill since the original owner died, which is a shame because this place was such a historic and iconic staple for the DMV Afghan diaspora. I’ve been to this restaurant in the past and always had an incredible experience. Now, the food is not authentic, the portions for some dishes are ridiculously small, and the atmosphere feels cheapened (they had paper tablecloths on the tables). The mantu appetizer only came with just a single piece of mantu. I’ve never seen that before in any Afghan restaurant I’ve been to. Most restaurants give at least 3-4 pieces. Also, the mantu was served on a plate of dal (lentils). That’s not how authentic mantu is made in Afghan culture at all. The chicken was very good, but the rice and dips really tasted like a terrible mockery/knock off of South Asian cuisine rather than authentic Afghan cuisine, which is supposed to taste more like a blend of West and Central Asian food usually. The firnee did not taste authentic at all. The pudding had no flavor and it was missing crushed pistachios—which is one of the most key ingredients for firnee. However, the falooda ice cream did taste good. Overall, this place isn’t terrible, but it’s not authentic, and you’d be much better off by going to DC or northern Virginia for Afghan food instead. This place just isn’t it anymore.

We had occasion to dine here while on a weekend getaway to Baltimore. Staying in Mount Vernon we tried to look for the best of the best to fill our long weekend. Seeing the Helmand come highly rated and never having tried Afghan cuisine before we were intrigued. The restaurant didn't disappoint. At first when we entered it looked like the restaurant wasn't full, but that was deceptive as we merely entered the corridor where single tables are lined up in a row. Around the corner we entered the spacious dining room and were given a seat near the windows to appreciate the ambiance of the whole restaurant while enjoying the outdoor views of the sunset. From the beginning, our waiter team was courteous and professional. The wine, beer, cocktail, and non-alcoholic beverage selection was excellent. Try the Riesling from Australia, it really complements the spices of the meal to follow! The appetizers and main courses were extremely well done, expertly spiced, presented simply but with impeccable precision. After dinner the desserts were an added surprise. Who knew that goat cheese would add such depth to a cheesecake and that a touch of pomegranate syrup would elevate it to five-star class? While the restaurant was a bit loud as it began to get crowded, I never couldn't hear my dinner companions nor was others' conversation intrusive, even those sat right next to us. Overall, if you're looking for authentic cuisine and a great atmosphere and have time to spend in Mount Vernon, give The Helmand a try!!

Clean, well lit, friendly and knowledgeable servers. Wonderful vegetarian/vegan options. Good food, flavors well balanced, textures smooth, well prepared and beautifully presented. Really good rice!! If I liked cilantro, which was in an optional side dip, I would have loved every single bite. Great stuffed baklava and goatcheesecake dessert. Wine and beer menu too.

Cinghiale is a vibrant wine bar and upscale Italian restaurant that offers a blend of authentic and heartfelt Italian cuisine. The establishment prides itself on its modern Italian kitchen, curated by renowned restaurateur Tony Foreman. The menu features hand-cut, house-made pastas and authentic regional dishes from Northern and Central Italy, prepared with love by Chef Julian Marucci.
We had an incredible first experience at Cinghiale and are already planning our return. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations — the ambiance was warm and elegant, and every interaction with the staff was thoughtful and welcoming. A special shoutout to Alejandro, our server, who was truly outstanding from start to finish. He was not only kind and attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Every recommendation he gave us was absolutely perfect! We trusted his guidance completely and he delivered a 1000/10 experience. The food and drinks were exceptional. Cinghiale impressed us on every level, from service, setting and cuisine and we can’t wait to come back.

Boy, was Cinghiale a surprise—in the best way. We were visiting from Washington, D.C. over Labor Day weekend for a quick getaway to recharge and celebrate a birthday. We tried several different restaurants during our stay, but this one was hands down our favorite. We debated where to go given its proximity to Little Italy and all the options there, but choosing Cinghiale turned out to be the best decision. They offer different menus depending on the experience you’re after—whether a more casual à la carte option or a prix fixe—and both looked amazing. The atmosphere is fantastic. It’s tucked away from the busiest streets, so dining outside is peaceful, close to the water, and great for people-watching. Inside, the white-tablecloth wine room is elegant, and even the regular dining room and bar looked inviting. We opted for outdoor seating and had a quiet, comfortable night. Service was outstanding—truly the best we had anywhere in Baltimore. Our server was warm, attentive, and full of energy. She gave thoughtful recommendations that really shaped our meal and even surprised us with a birthday glass of wine paired with our entrée, plus a candle with dessert. Those personal touches made the night feel special. And the food? Spectacular across the board. The stone fruit salad and tomato-mozzarella salad were both refreshing and beautifully presented. The duck was incredibly tender and perfectly cooked. The stuffed pasta dishes were rich, flavorful, and a highlight of the evening. From appetizers through dessert, everything was balanced, thoughtful, and made with pride. We walked away with zero complaints—just full appreciation for an incredible experience. Cinghiale set the bar high, and we’ll absolutely return on our next visit to Baltimore.

What a pleasant lunch surprise! Cinghiale just started serving lunch and they had a well curated menu that even included desserts. I enjoyed my visit so much, I invited a friend to join me. I would strongly recommend them for a solo, duo or group lunch visit. At this time, they offer this lunch special Tuesday-Friday from 11:30am-2:00pm. I will definitely be visiting again. Gracie Cinghiale and well done!

This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Baltimore! The staff were absolutely amazing from the moment we walked in until we left. We were celebrating our one-year wedding anniversary, and as a same-sex couple, things can be a bit unpredictable, but we were greeted with such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The food was just unforgettable. We also never found ourselves with an empty glass. The portions were the perfect size. We could tell it was all made with care and fresh, high-quality ingredients. I can see how some things might not fit everyone’s palette, so make sure you check the menu before you go. We have absolutely no complaints. We had a great time and can’t wait to share our experience with anyone who’s interested.

Dining at Cinghiale in Baltimore was a memorable experience that blended elegance with warmth. From the moment I walked in, the golden lighting, soft chatter, and candlelit tables created an inviting atmosphere that felt both refined and comfortable. My wife and I attended the Cinghiale Opera Salon, and it was truly a one-of-a-kind evening — the live opera intertwined beautifully with the meal, making each course feel like part of a story. The service was attentive, the pacing thoughtful, and the food exceptional. Every dish reflected care and authenticity, from the perfectly tender pasta to the rich flavors that spoke of true Italian tradition.
Gerson C — Google review
We just had our wedding at Cinghiale, and it was absolutely fantastic. From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond to make everything perfect. The food was incredible—every course beautifully prepared by Juan David and served with care, and the service was seamless all evening. The atmosphere was elegant yet warm, and our guests couldn’t stop talking about how amazing everything was. Planning and communication with Abbe Gould was smooth and professional, and on the day of the wedding, she and the entire executed every detail flawlessly. If you’re looking for a venue that combines exceptional food, impeccable service, and a truly special ambiance, Cinghiale delivers in every way. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience on our wedding day.
Gregory F — Google review
Excellent service and atmosphere! They make sure you are well taken care of and everything is seamless. However, the reason for the 2 stars is because of the food. The food is mid at best. I had the lasagna and it was bland and underwhelming. The charcuterie cheeses tasted cheap like they went to Walmart or something and got them. Again, beautiful restaurant by the water and excellent wait staff. The food just sucks.
Hamza W — Google review
We came to the harbor to visit. We ended up wanting to eat dinner, so we found this restaurant on Google. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and sat down quickly. Our server Matt was phenomenal! Jake, the manager, was very professional and helpful as well! The food was really good! The short room was so good that I had two orders! The ice cream with espresso was incredible! We would definitely come back here again. As you walk in they have a station where they prepare cheese and Salamis. I was really excited to try that out until I saw the guy prepping eating a couple of bites which turned me off instantly. That was the only negative thing. I did bring it up to the manager and told him to talk with the worker to prevent that from happening again.

Mediterranean restaurant
Restaurante Tio Pepe is a long-standing family-owned Spanish-Continental restaurant located in the heart of Mount Vernon. With over fifty years of history, this landmark establishment offers a cozy underground dining experience beneath a distinctive red awning on Franklin Street. Owned by Madrid-born Emiliano Sanz and his nephew Miguel Sanz, the restaurant is known for its authentic Spanish cuisine and warm hospitality.
Always such an excellent evening. Try the secret menu item “Lobster Emiliano”, it is fantastic. Order it though when making your reservation.
Mike B — Google review
One word: mediocre. Service slow, not fine dining, server barely spoke English, didn’t introduce his name. All dishes came out bland, without much attention to detail of presentation. Appetizers: muscles tasty, but served without bread or dipping toast for the green sauce. I tried sautéed mushroom toast, not impressed one boring looking toast came out. Dinner we got lobster Emiliano which was decent, but over lays with sauce, and I got sea bass, after traveling the world in search for the best fish, this preparation and the serving style was 3/10 for me. Seabass was covered by an overwhelming brown salty caper sauce, masking the tender flavor of the fish. Dinner Served with rice and green beans, not much flavor, beans did not taste fresh, (frozen?) overall I was not impressed. Red Sangria was great & the highlight! Although I understand, this place has been in business for many years, my recommendation would be to consider an evolution and advancement of their menu items alongside with a more creative presentation of their dishes.

This place is legendary. Im now 48 and my mom said she came here while pregnant with me. Food is very tasty, service and smiles excellent! I really enjoyed the garlic shrimp appetizer and stuffed rockfish. I can definitely see why local folks keep coming back. I believe I'd feel a bit more comfortable if the restaurant was in a location unburdened by underground moisture smell and those elements that go along with an older establishment. Overall, very nice experience celebrating my mom's 73rd bday.

We celebrated my son Matthew’s graduation from Peabody Conservatory Masters program with supper at this iconic Baltimore establishment. The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent and exceeded my already high expectations. Extra kudos to our primarily Spanish speaking waiter, he was outstanding in every respect. We indulged in sumptuous oysters Rockefeller as well as Tio Pepe’s special version, oysters topped with crab and smothered in champagne sauce. We sampled the puffed potatoes (sort of a three dimensional homemade potato chip that is addictively delicious), and incredibly savory mushroom toast, highly recommended. From rack of lamb to paella for two, our entree’s were cooked to perfection and served with military precision, exactly what one would expect from a first class Spanish Restaurant. Refreshing ice cold red Sangria flowed freely from a seemingly bottomless porcelain pitcher. In an era where glorified sandwich shops and Tapas bars substitute for what once was fine dining, Tio Pepe is a refreshing trip to times gone by. Thank you, thank you for never changing. We will return soon.

Over all I would say that the food was okay, the chicken is slimy but the chocolate roll and salad were immaculate. Service was very good, make sure if you come you know Spanish. The atmosphere was okay a bit dark but it could make due.

My husband took me there for our anniversary last month. The way the hostess greeted us was rude. She was looking at us like we were beneath her. Like we were lost. Her attitude changed when my husband said we have reservations. So that set the tone from the start. It's too dark in there; like a cave. We could barely read the menu. You can tell the menu hasn't changed in decades. My husband liked the food. But he also will eat a shoe. However, I didn't like it. The crabcake was okay. A little bit too salt, but it was huge. I had steak with some kind of sauce. The sauce was cold and the steak had no flavor or seasoning. I had a side of green beans which was delicious. The saffron rice tasted old. Our waiter was excellent and provided great service. I was disappointed because we had high hopes for this restaurant.
Lola Y — Google review
The shrimp in garlic sauce was not the same. They were over cooked. Oysters with crab and champagne sauce was lacking crab and sauce was not so good and they were under cooked. Sangria was great like normal. My steak was over cooked on the edges. The dessert was a disaster. I have been going to Tio Pepe's for 50 years and I will not go back. It makes me sad
Patricia D — Google review
Tio Pepe's restaurant is a long lasting Baltimore tradition. Unfortunately, the front door is not wheelchair accessible since it's down a short flight of stairs. I'm told that there's a way for wheelchair riders to access Tio Pepe's through an alternative entrance. Call in advance to find out how to activate entry by wheelchair if that's needed. The walls are whitewashed rough stone with little arches between the various small and medium rooms. Because of the rough stone walls and the relatively small rooms, the sound level in the various dining areas is pleasantly quiet so it's easy to hear what your dining companions are saying. The service was good, and the variety of menu items was excellent. I had a very good steak, a Spanish cream of onion soup, and a Tio Pepe's salad. The steak came with sauteed string beans and rice. Parking is in a multilevel parking structure across the street. The price of parking is reasonable. Tio Pepe's is a bit on the pricey side. I recommend it.

Customer service was excellent. I ordered online and within 5 minutes I received a message that my order was ready. Was greeted as soon as I entered the restaurant. Ordered was bagged and ready to go with condiments. Ordered cream of crab soup and crab cakes. The soup could've used a little more seasoning however it had lump crab in it. The Crab cakes were exceptionally good. I will be returning and I will definitely recommend to others.

This was a fun local spot! We came specifically for the crab cake but ended up trying the creamy crab soup and jerk chicken dish as well. To be totally honest my favorite piece was the giant hunk of tomato that came with the crab cake! But overall a great stop while in town!

I ordered online for takeout. Staff was friendly. I got the crab soup and crab cake platter. I paid around $65 for both. The crab soup was creamy and had good chunks of crab. The crab cake was huge. It was amazing and was practically all crab. Fries were good. I'd say it was well worth the price.

Nestled in a charming locale, Sammy's Trattoria is a delightful family-owned gem that serves up authentic Southern Italian cuisine. With its stylish ambiance featuring high vaulted ceilings, this eatery creates the perfect backdrop for enjoying hearty dishes that evoke traditional flavors. The homemade lasagna stands out as a signature dish, while seafood pastas and classics like rigatoni alla vodka and veal parm keep patrons returning for more.
A solid choice for tasty Italian food. Make a reservation because they are VERY busy. This is run by an Italian Nona, and believe me, you know she is in charge. As soon as we walked in, she recognized my voice and said she remembered me calling earlier for a reservation. They had a table waiting for us with ice waters and fresh bread and garlic herb dipping oil. This stuff is outstanding!!! And kudos to Sammy's. Very few places give you bread and dipping oil anymore. So if i could give them 6 stars, I would! We started off with the beef Carpachio, and I highly recommend it. I was very pleased with the flavors and presentation. The pasta came next, and we were not disappointed. Duck ravioli and some kind of seafood pasta. High marks on both. It was a little bit chaotic with how busy it was, but our water glasses never ran dry, and our food was served in a reasonable time. Meanwhile, we indulged in the homemade bread and dipping oil. Reasonable prices. Warm and personable service, tasty food, and a great environment. Put this on your short list of places to try.

Had a disappointing experience at Sammy's. Our table of four waited over 45 minutes for our meals. Our server was sympathetic and apologized twice, even mentioning that two other tables were also experiencing long delays. Unfortunately, no one else on staff acknowledged the situation. The food itself was fine. We had two meals that were simply rigatoni in butter sauce (for the kids) and they were far too buttery. Our other two meals were prepared well. And, very unusual for a Baltimore Italian restaurant, there was no bread served with the meal. We had a bowl of dipping oil when we arrived at the table, but perhaps the restaurant no longer serves bread. Our table was in the basement, which was far less enjoyable than the main dining room. The basement felt rough, less elegant, and much noisier. We would have considered ordering dessert, but the long wait left us pressed for time to make our next event.

Horrible service. When we arrived we were asked if we had a reservation. I confirmed that we did and that We were celebrating a birthday. They seated us in the least romantic and high traffic spot. The waitresses were passing us frequently and yet they hardly checked on us. In fact, we had three different waiters at our table, one of them rushed to take our order, she didn't greet us or let us know she was stepping in to help. She just came up and asked "are y'all ready to order" I was really surprised that the same waitress was chummy with other guests, going around to other tables and asking "need anything else, sweetheart?" I never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant and I really didn't want to assume her neglect was based on race, since we were the only black couple in the establishment Two other birthdays were celebrated around us. The rushing waitress brought them their desserts. They sang them songs. But For our table? Nothing. I felt awful especially because I put trust into this place that with great dishes, it was going to be a wonderful way to close our evening. Instead, we were left realizing we never should have eaten here in the first place.

I’ve been here a few times and have loved each visit! Valerie is the best- she’s personable, kind, and attentive. The food is always hot, fresh, and consistently delicious; my go-to dishes are the Julia Salad and the Rigatoni alla Vodka. The bread service with garlic-parmesan dipping oil is also amazing. The staff does a wonderful job making sure you have everything you need, from refilling drinks to checking in throughout your meal. On my last visit, I was surprised it wasn’t busier- definitely check it out, and ask for Valerie!

I attended an event with a fixed menu. It was great overall, people were happy with the food and service. The appetizers were great, meatballs, mozzarella, bruscetta all top notch. I liked the arugula salad and the pasta plates - the 3 cheese gnocchi pesto was better than the tortellini gorgonzola. For secondi we had a salmon and chicken parmesan. The chicken was in fact the only disappointment - the red sauce for the meatballs and the mozzarella was excellent, not sure why they went with whatever that bland sauce was for the chicken. As I would have personally gone for the salmon myself anyway, it wasn't really a problem for me, but should be mentioned as I saw they can do better. Decent desserts too. I would recommend it for events, it was better than I expected.

We reserved our dinner at 8:30pm not knowing that the place closed at 9pm on a Sunday, but that didn’t stop the staff from not serving and hosting us. From the beginning when we walked in, they were kind and considerate and were okay for my partner and I to still enjoy a great dinner even when they were about to close. The lights were aromatic and nice and dim to give a nice dinner date vibe for me and her. We started with a bottle of white wine to go with our app of fried calamari, which was seasoned with some good cajun seasoning. It was nice and crispy and the cajun was done right! Have it a nice spice to it. For our entre, I got the duck ravioli and it was done correctly! The meat was tender and fresh; and the mushroom with the sauce on it was just to drool over. It tasted amazing. Such a nice pairing to go with the ravioli. My partner got a pasta dish with shrimp and mushroom in it. She said it tasted amazingly. And the size was good enough for her to take the rest home. The wine went well with her dish. We ended the night with dessert and they were great to end after the meals. The best part was the live singing! Such a great voice the older man had while playing the piano. I’d def come back here when I return to Baltimore.

We were in town for a show and found Sammy's! The amazing Italian woman up front asked if we had a reservation, which we did not we just wanted to eat before the show and some how she worked her magic and got us a table in the basement they were packed! And let me say I am SO glad we stopped here it is now my favorite restaurant for Italian. I got the seafood Alfredo and it was amazing my wife for the marsala and it was also amazing. You may wait a little longer than a regular restaurant however I believe its due to how fresh they make their food and we'll worth the wait. The only bad we had was a male waiter started with us and judged us and was not very welcoming and we ended up with a female waitress and we left her a very nice tip she was awesome! I recommend this place if you want authentic delicious Italian

Absolutely spectacular & 1/3 the price of comparable places that, frankly, are technically great but less edgy & more predictable. Sit at the counter & watch the camaraderie of these guys; they love sharing & creativity, and you can feel it. Every course was fascinating & new. Fidel is kind & open hearted. We need to attend the bake sale (announce them on socials, guys! The tortillas are heaven). They didn’t rush us, and it was such fun. What a great place. Well return. We still can’t believe how fairly priced it is, for all that you get. Rare, in this town. Keep it up, we can’t wait to see where you go in the future. You get it.

We had a great lovely happy hour turned dinner at Cosima! Our waiter was super attentive and kind. He recommended the branzino and I loved his recommendation. He even filleted the fish for me at the table! It was such a lovely atmosphere. If even rained when were outside And the seating is covered. It was still lovely with the rain.

Really loved this place! Great atmosphere, beautiful and cozy interior, and the lighting was just right. We were impressed by the rushing river nearby and the charming outdoor patio. The appetizers were 10/10 — absolutely delicious! Drinks were fantastic too. The service was excellent and the staff super friendly. I had the creamy veggie pasta with lime — tasty, though the flavor combo was a bit unusual, definitely for an adventurous palate. My husband had the chicken — it was a solid 10/10!

When here, Sunday night group of three, we had reservations and service was very prompt on the ball. Bree was our waitress. She was alert quick very knowledgeable. She made the whole dining experience really pleasant. The food, the food was really good very large portions. We had the fixed price Sunday meal which was I thought extremely large portions the price I was actually before we ordered an appetizer and then we had a fix price $45 appetizer entrée and dessert. We all had stuffed mushrooms, extremely flavorful. I had a tiramisu for dessert. I come from a background and fine dining and I haven’t had Italian food for a long time so really felt good to get down there and the experience was really delightful. I really enjoyed it and I’ll definitely be back again. It might be one of those places where we go once a couple weeks it was enjoyable where you could literally get anything. You know you can get a pizza or you can get me the meat of it was really good. Great wine selection. I can’t say anything bad about.

I discovered Cosima while visiting another restaurant in the area. They offer free valet parking and outdoor dining. I didn't get a chance to sit at the bar even though I had a reservation for a bar table, which is actually a high-top table, and it was better. The service was great, and the food was tasty, even though my experience was filled with a lot of questions.

Such a great staff! Attended one of the wine dinners, and it was amazing. Will definitely be going back! Great craft cocktails, food, wine, and desserts! Looking forward to the next set of events!

I have always chosen this as my go to date spot. The atmosphere is always wonderful. Eclectic music, spanning from 90s trip-hop to modern psychedelic pop. It offers a very chill and sensual dining experience. The lighting is perfection on the first level and patio, although on the mezzanine it’s a bit too bright. The patio has an incredible setup with string lights, heat lamps and a garden. It is situated along the Jones Falls, which offers ambient sounds and lovely sights. The service is always top notch, super helpful and informative staff. They have rotating seasonal menus which makes it exciting to keep coming back. I recently had an incredible intimate date and even though it was close to close everyone was so polite, but we made sure to leave… never want to be that guy that stays until close 😅 highly recommend the gnocchi and expansive wine list. But wish it had more vegetarian/vegan friendly options. Plus it’s a bit pricy for small portions, but the quality meets the price

Cosima is now top of the heap as a "special occasion" place for my wife and I inside the city. I was legitimately exited to see if they could recapture the mastery of seafood (specifically sardines and anchovies) we encountered in Sicily, and they did so beautifully through the eccentric lens of American fine dining. The liquor and cocktails were excellent, as you would expect, but the bread, of all things, made the biggest impression. Yes, if you're accustomed to affordable family restaurants like we are you might roll your eyes at paying $4 for a small loaf of bread. None of that matters because the crust tastes like it was baked seconds before arriving at (perfect contrast between crust and crumb), and I can literally taste the herb butter every time I mention it, and I've mentioned it to a lot of people at this point. As one would expect of a restaurant of this caliber, the service staff were attentive and knowledgeable. They worked around our myriad allergies with patience and grace. That said, Cosima's staff earned special status in my mind because they went above and beyond to help me retrieve valuables I had dropped at the restaurant. They were incredibly patient throughout, and totally saved my bacon as someone who lives a considerable distance away with small children and no free time. I am in their debt, and they are in a tier of their own as far as customer service is concerned. If I had to ding Cosima for anything, it would be the parking situation, specifically that the venue is somewhat hard to find from the road (despite their best efforts with signage). That said, they've done just about everything they can do to improve it, up to and including complimentary valet. There is simply a price to be paid for using a historic venue that was never designed for food service. That said, now that we've done it once and know what to expect, its a non-issue.

Verde is a charming dining spot in Baltimore, Maryland that offers a unique experience with its rustic-chic ambiance and delicious Neapolitan pizzas. The restaurant features a wood-fire pizza oven that churns out flavorful pies with toppings like prosciutto and fig, smoked mozzarella and lemon, and mushrooms with truffle cream. The menu also includes gluten-free and vegan options to cater to various dietary preferences.
Fantastic spot for pizza with a wide variety of options—including creative choices like a sweet potato base. We tried the white pizza, the sweet potato-based pizza, and a salad, and everything was absolutely delicious. The dough was especially impressive—light, flavorful, and perfectly baked. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a great choice for anything from a date night to a casual hangout with friends or family. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be coming back!

Excellent dinner. Started with the fresh shrimp in a marinara, next a very good salad, with an excellent balsamic dressing. The highlight, the Margherita pizza with fresh basil...delicious. their breads and their crust are both outstanding. Great atmosphere and service. I will most definitely return.

We ordered the tomato bruschetta, roasted beets salad, and the tartufo pizza. Overall, the food was just okay, regular and nothing particularly impressive. The flavors lacked depth and boldness, and the portions were on the smaller side. Not bad, but not something we’d rush back for.

Best wood burning pizza I have had in Baltimore. The Pesto trio with burrata was a great appetizer. The Bambino and Demone were our favorites pizzas.

Delicious Neapolitan pizza !! The fresh cheese is the star on this pie. Need some apps- don’t miss the polpette (meatballs) trio of pesto or homemeade mozz. Service could not have been better. Lovely outdoor seating to dine al fresco. Great place for a private event as well !

We have our reservation at 6:00p & ate upstairs. I felt like I stepped back to the 50s with the music, vibes, & drinks - in a good way! Excellent service & food/drinks came out timely & was delicious! Loved our experience & we will come again. We didn’t try the date night prix fixe but will want to go back to try. We had burrata & pizzas. So delicious & fresh!

Haven’t been here in a couple years but it was just as cozy as always. The server we had was great, but the appetizer let us down a little. The burrata caprese came out and we’d only received a wedge of burrata instead of a burrata ball (if that’s normal they should just mention it on the menu) and the pesto was very dark and bitter, possible the basil used had seen better days. The pizza did not disappoint though and neither did the cocktails, would still go back.

Came for brunch yesterday with a dear friend. She's from DC, I'm visiting from Orlando. We had an exceptional time. Incredible service. Delicious food. Great vibes on a Sunday afternoon. The coconut moijito mocktails were the icing on the cake. I got the crab cake sandwich with fries. She had a benny with potatoes. We shared the whipped feta appetizer. Thank y'all for everything. And the R&B playlist upstairs was fire.

Reservation for 8 of us. The food was good for the most part, but our server was not attentive by any means. Long stretches of time between her check-ins with us. Stuck in a back room upstairs, it seemed we were an afterthought. Ran out of water and had to get our to go boxes ourselves. She presumed 1 check and then agreed to split the bill 3 ways only because it wasn't busy any longer. Then, we had to go find her to pay our bills. Again, food was very good, but the service was definitely lacking.

My sister and I went during Restaurant Week and got an excellent three course meal for $45 on a separate menu. From the variety of food selections, indoor and outdoor seating, as well as an understanding staff. Rachael, our waitress, was very kind and informative and recommended specific wines based on our meal. From the delicious meals, to good wine, and EVEN BETTER atmosphere. We were told that the bartender was the DJ for the night on the second floor, KEEP THEM AS THE DJ! Very relaxing and still a lively energy.

Came with my favorite foodie. Amy and Kendall are AMAZING staff members! Brussel sprouts were EXCELLENT. Nice and crisp, very tasty. We thought the donuts were the holes, they were actual full sized donuts. We didn't touch them immediately and when we finally did, they were STILL warm. Breakfast bowl was delicious. Can't remember the names of our drinks but they were great. Mimosas were good as well. We will definitely be back!

The Wicked Sisters wipped up something great in the kitchen on my visit there for lunch. My party of 3 enjoyed every bite!! Reservations recommended or you may wait for a few mins. I was seated fairly quickly without one. staff / Sarah was great!!. Now let's get to it...the food we selected was the Mac& cheese with bacon, Salmon BLT and the crabcake sandwich all wickedly prepared and delicious!! The drinks will have you feeling really nice, also delish. I would recommend trying this place out if in the area.

Not a bad experience, but an expensive one for sure. Almost $200 for our meals with a bottle of wine(the cheapest one at that) Cute spot, parking could be difficult on busy days. Had the burger with carb dip, dip wasn’t flavorful at all. The burger wasn’t nasty but it 1000% could’ve used more flavor. Fries were good. Everyone enjoyed their meal but like 7/10 enjoyed. The wings were good though! Probably my favorite thing. Eh I don’t care to go back.

The restaurant is known for its house-made margaritas, tableside guacamole, and an array of taco options. Excellent spot for delicious Mexican food with a lively atmosphere! We tried the quesadillas and fajitas, both were flavorful and perfectly prepared. The drinks were refreshing and paired well with the meal. Service was friendly and attentive throughout, making the experience even better. We especially enjoyed the outdoor seating on the sidewalk, which gave off a fun, laid-back Baltimore vibe. Definitely a place we’d return to and recommend for a casual night out.

We tried this place today and were impressed by the bold Mexican flavors. The rich layers of avocado, cheese, and generous toppings really stood out. The Bean Avocado Taco and Veggie Taco were definite favorites. The Beyond Meat version, however, was a bit underseasoned — same with the burrito. That said, their Verde and Picosa sauces truly lifted the experience. Don’t skip those!

Italian restaurant
Grano Pasta Bar is a cozy Italian restaurant located in Baltimore, Maryland. It offers a small, intimate setting with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The restaurant is known for its traditional Italian noodles and sauces, allowing customers to create their own pasta combinations. While the restaurant has limited seating, it's popular for takeout orders as well. Grano Pasta Bar packages their pasta in environmentally friendly boxes, although some customers have noted issues with condensation.
I would imagine I was lucky to get a seat here as the food and service was excellent!! I enjoyed the atmosphere and taste of authenticity. Mushroom ravioli with tiramisu as my dessert. Authentic and robust flavors exactly what I was looking for. 🙌🔥 My bartender/ waitress was very sweet and wholesome. I much appreciated her giving me the very small table against the wall. The place kinda felt like a hug 🫂

We came for dinner because there were great reviews for gluten-free pasta. The kids enjoyed their meals. The youngest and I got the American spaghetti with meatballs. I got gluten free noodles and the meatballs are gluten-free. The youngest loved his. Mine was crunchy. My daughter heard me crunching. I passed out a gluten-free noodle to each person in our party and they agreed the noodles were more than al'dente. I asked the lady with the beautiful Italian accent if they should be crunchy. She said no and offered to remake the dish. I was already feeling full, so I declined but I should have let her remake it! We ordered bread and calamari for an appetizer. The bread was "busting" according to the 8 year old. The calamari was tender and in a tomato base that was good enough to drink! Their olive oil balsamic dip for the bread was amazing too. My hubby ordered the risotto with the veal. The veal was huge, tender, and delicious. It came with a huge bone filled with marrow. The middles got the dish that was like mac and cheese and added shrimp, and the other got the shrimp white wine dish. They loved their dishes! Their house red wine was perfect and they had a blood orange drink, and a lemon drink for the kids. They were delicious as well. We also chose the sparkling water which was smooth and crisp. The service was world class. We had a server who was so personable, and two other ladies who took great care of us! We will be back and I will make sure to request that my noodles be more done than al'dente.

We'd always seen the takeout spot, but never knew there was a real restaurant hiding around the side! We finally tried it Saturday night, even though there was a waitlist, but got seated in like, five minutes. Food was good, nothing extra fancy. I had the linguine positano clam pasta, and my boyfriend got the spaghetti pomodoro. He loved it a lot- very rustic and homey but just wished they had a complementary bread basket for the extra sauce that was left on his plate.. My clam pasta was simple and yummy, very garlicky and tasted like the sea.. in a good way. Service was quick, and it was packed the whole time. I'd go back, but they should totally add complementary bread baskets which I feel like we always get at Italian restaurants.

When I order an INSALATA MED and instead of feta you put blue cheese from the INSALATA VERDE BLUE salad in it you ruin an otherwise perfectly good salad for someone who loves feta and hates blue cheese. Please try and be better about putting the listed ingredients from your menu in your food. Otherwise a lovely place with great staff.
Evan T — Google review
The atmosphere here is GREAT! However, if this place gets busy, the customer service and quality of food can not be quite A+ plus. I will visit here again and choose to come at an earlier time. The dishes all look great, but the flavor just didn't do it. I think because it was extremely busy and food came out cold. The wait was extremely long. 2 orders of Fillet Mingon steak and both was too rear, although insited on well done, I get it it was extremely crowded both inside and outside. It definitely had the Italian vibes. We were a party of 6. The desert was good! Will be back before summer is over! Bill about $300.00

On April 23rd, my family and I stumbled upon Grano Pasta Bar after a long search for a good place to eat. We were in town to surprise my nephew for his birthday and needed somewhere quick, with no long waits. Grano Pasta Bar fit the bill perfectly. Parking wasn't an issue; we lucked out and found a spot right in front of the restaurant. Inside, the ambiance was cozy with wine bottles lining the walls, creating a warm atmosphere. We were greeted warmly by Katie, who provided excellent service throughout our visit. Despite the restaurant having a few other groups, we felt well attended to. The food was exceptional. My sister loved the lasagna, rating it a perfect 10 for its cheesiness. My niece, who's picky, still enjoyed her spaghetti with meatballs and shrimp, giving it an 8 out of 10. My mom and nephew both ordered the penne vodka with chicken and couldn't finish their plates—they rated it 10/10 for its creamy sauce. I tried the ravioli with mushroom, also a 10/10 for its flavors. We started with calamari, which was cooked to perfection, leaving us impressed with every bite. Katie even took a picture of our family, capturing a perfect birthday moment for my nephew. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, with great music adding to the experience. It was clear that Grano Pasta Bar values both food quality and customer experience. The prices were reasonable, and the wine selection, including a memorable Moscato, complemented the meal perfectly. In conclusion, Grano Pasta Bar exceeded our expectations with delicious food, warm service, and a fantastic ambiance. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Special thanks to Katie for making our visit memorable.

If you find yourself in Baltimore, make sure to stop by Pete's Grille, a beloved local gem known for its hearty breakfast and lunch offerings. Nestled in a charming red brick building on Greenmount Avenue, this diner is the perfect spot to indulge in generous portions of classic comfort food served right at the counter. Breakfast lovers rejoice!
Top notch place in Charles Village area! This was recommended to me as a brunch spot a while ago, and I've subsequently brought many other friends here. I usually get one of their platters with an omelette, home fries, and toast. Their biscuits and gravy was top notch as well. The environment is 100% old diner style, where you sit up at the counter and the cooks will make and serve your plate right in front of you. Portions are large for the price, which I really respect given the place's fame (apparently Phelps ate here quite a bit). Seating is limited though, because there are only counter seats. I myself have never had to wait for seating, but I've seen others have to.

Tried to get a turkey & ham club, but they only make turkey clubs. I had to order a ham sandwich that I tried to turn into a club, which they made sure wouldn't be anything like a club. Everything I asked to be on the ham sandwich was missing. Just crazy! I made it clear that I knew I'd have to pay for the requested items. Fries weren't even okay. They looked good because they had a coating on them. I will not return.

My sandwich was good but the waitress slid my drink to me and it tipped over and spilled all over me. She seemed very annoyed and like it was my fault when she stated "well I tried to slide it to you" but who slides a full drink to someone? I was not offered anything to clean myself up with, she told me my straw was in my bag and to have a good day. Better customer would be appreciated.

This was my 1st time visiting and I truly enjoyed it. The food was very delicious and the server was attentive to our needs. I love the relaxed environment and the friendly conversations. This is a very small place and we did have to wait for seats to become available. It was very busy during this visit. There's only one cook but you also get to see him prepare the food depending on where you're sitting. I would go back again and recommend anyone to try it out, but again be prepared to wait because this is a very small place.

Nothing was particularly seasoned or flavorful, but the waitress exhibited excellent customer service—I would return for that reason. True Chesapeake is a seafood restaurant located in Whitehall Mill, founded by a team of experienced chefs including Zack Mills and Patrick Hudson from True Chesapeake Oyster Farm. The menu features Chesapeake classics such as spaghetti with middle neck clams, roasted oysters, farmhouse salad with seasonal veggies, crab dip mac and cheese, and rockfish prepared by Chef Mills.
Went there for a dinner date night with the wife as we’re staying away from Atlas restaurant group locations for a while. We’ve been wanting to come here for a while and we were pleasantly surprised. We noticed how busy it was , so we were a little worried that the service was not going to be good. Our server was very busy at first but she rallied through and was amazing for the rest of our stay. I got the oysters and they were the biggest oysters I’ve ever had and they were tasty. Loved the assortment of condiments that came with them. Food was amazing as I was very happy to see snakehead on the menu. I would love to see them cook a fried version of this dish. Prices were really good for the quality of food and the ambiance was amazing. We will definitely be back with our friends.

We had a great time here with friends for a Saturday early happy hour. The happy hour menu is a steal! The oysters were fantastic and the cocktails were amazing. I would totally go for happy hour again. I do love their dinner menu however the portion is slightly on the less side. You have to order a bunch which makes the bill kinda high, also on top of that they automatically charge 20% plus the kitchen fee 2%. The food quality was no doubt tho. Everything we ordered was fantastic, the balance of flavor and richness was just spot on. I enjoyed everything very much! They serve beer bread as well, which was also my favorite kind of bread. Overall it was such a great restaurant. I highly recommend it for special occasions due to the portion and the price, or just simply go for happy hour only.

I usually know a place is great when I'm already thinking about the return trip! The oysters were phenomenal. First time I tried Snakehead, which I'd recommend. The drinks were impressive. We celebrated my aunt’s birthday at True Chesapeake and had an excellent experience despite the restaurant being short-staffed. We started at the bar for happy hour with fresh, house-made margaritas and top-tier oysters—especially delicious with the bourbon hot sauce and watermelon mignonette. For dinner, our waitress recommended the Northside, a refreshing NA mojito-style drink, alongside seared scallops (gluten-free, prepared with care to avoid cross-contamination) and the blue crab & bone marrow dip, which my aunt loved. Dessert was a rich peanut butter, chocolate, and marshmallow creation—wonderful but very sweet. Great service, thoughtful recommendations, and fantastic seafood will have me back before summer ends. Heads up, if you’re driving and you think you’re lost, keep driving!

All the oysters we tried were good from the raw to roasted. Steak tartare was a little chunky but not bad. Blue crab and marrow dip was delicious. Service was great but the atmosphere became loud. Restaurant tipped themselves even though we only had 4 people in our party and the kitchen also took a 2%. No one informed us of that. I would prefer to tip ourselves instead of force tipping.

Great atmosphere! Pat was our bartender and he was phenomenal, great recommendations and attentive service even with a bunch of tickets at the bar. Pat the owner was great too, great conversation with both of them. Delicious food, oysters, steak tartare and blue crab and bone marrow were great. Could not recommend the place enough! Brown Sugar Bourbon ice cream is out of this world.

True Chesapeake Oyster is an absolute vibe! From start to finish, our experience was incredible. The cocktails were perfectly crafted, the oysters fresh, briny, and local! Every dish we tried—from the scallops to the ribeye and duck confit—was unforgettable. The food quality is insane, and you can truly taste the passion behind every bite. The service was top notch—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. A special highlight was when the chef personally came to our table to share the rich history of the building. It added such a meaningful touch to an already perfect evening. We ended on a high note with a dessert that blew us away. Can’t wait to return

Traffic was terrible leaving Baltimore, so I found this place to hunker down until the roads became tolerable. It's a little difficult to find the door as it's inside a rather non-descript, industrial building. Service was fast (if not curt), but the star of the show is the Happy Hour menu. 2 dollar oysters and 6 dollar old fashioneds! They feature the shucker prominently at the bar, making quick work of the shells in front of him. They have a menu beyond HH that ranges from 15 - 80 dollars, with Oysters from around the area and things like Crab Mac and Cheese. I got here when they opened at 5 but it doesn't seem to get terribly crowded on a Tuesday evening. Nice spot, I'll be back soon.

Mexican restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant city of Baltimore, Taqueria El Sabor del Parque is a delightful culinary gem that stands out for its exceptional tacos and warm atmosphere. This cozy eatery offers an impressive menu filled with authentic Mexican flavors, highlighted by their Pollo Taco, which is celebrated for its freshness and mouthwatering taste. Guests rave about the fast and friendly service provided by the welcoming staff, including a memorable experience with host Edwin.
Early supper while waiting for the great baltimore lantern festival at Patterso. Park. The corner Taqueria serve tacos and other platos. We ordered pollo plancha plato which came with arroz amarillo, black beans, corn tortillas and a filleted grilled chicken breast and nachos with Guacamole. Pollo was delic ious though they can dial a bit the salt. Nachos were fresh, correctly seasoned and a generous serving of fresh guacamole. Service was friendly and quick. Price was reasonable. Note menu prices 10/24, add a dollar more for each listed price.

I ordered the $10 taco special expecting 4 mini tacos with 4" tortillas. To my surprise, I was served generously stuffed tacos with double 6" tortillas. Sampled both the carne asada and Al pastor and both were delicious!! These are the style of street tacos I crave for. Clean meat, fresh tortillas, good salsas. Can't wait to come back!

This is one of two 11/10 restaurants I've visited in Baltimore. I've been multiple times since. Their birria tacos are absolutely to die for. I had birria for the first time here, and I've not seen another restaurant top it. Their portions are massive for the price you pay. You're provided also with complementary salsa. Service is fast and friendly. They clearly care about you here; you will leave full!

If you are looking for good tacos or just good Mexican food go here. I was truly had lost hope on finding good tacos in Baltimore until I found this spot.
Enrique I — Google review
I have heard nothing but great things about this place. The service is amazing and the Carne Asada is SOOOO good!!!! The best thing about this place is that all of the food, in my experience, comes minimally seasoned, enough so that it is still delicious, but you can still add many of the toppings and customize it to your liking. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because all of the other meat I tried was pretty alright. Seriously though the Carne Asada absolutely stole the show! The fruit drinks are very good too, I had the mango and it was very fresh. This is the best taco joint in Baltimore!

One of Baltimore’s BEST restaurants. El Sabor offers incredibly friendly service, delicious tacos, and affordable prices. I am a huge fan of their vegetarian tacos and my partner loves their carne asada and pollo tacos.

Always good. Food is GREAT and there are a ton of fun protein options. Staff are generally really nice and hospitable. It is pretty small/cramped on the inside, and the last time I went the tv had some sort of weird AI slop YouTube video on endless repeat.

Hole in the wall taqueria located across the street from Patterson Park (hence, the name). Friendly service and excellent food - including breakfast items. I particularly like their language tacos. Atmosphere is bare bones. The food is so worth it!

Restaurant
The Bluebird Cocktail Room is a charming and romantic literary-themed lounge located in the heart of Hampden. The bar offers classic cocktails and shareable bistro fare, with each beverage inspired by a story from The Brothers Grimm, such as Cinderella or Little Snow White. The extensive food and drink menu features ingredients sourced from local, organic, and sustainable farmers, distillers, and producers. Despite being popular among locals, the atmosphere remains inviting rather than stuffy or expensive.
I visited the Bluebird Cocktail Room (Green Room, specifically) to see the local Django Jam and loved it. The Green Room is the perfect size for an intimate jazz session. I've enjoyed all the drinks and the service is cool. I highly recommend a visit on Monday night if you want to travel back in time (in a good way).

The staff were lovely. LJ was our waiter and was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The fried catfish sandwich with bread and butter pickles was so very yummy. the Open Road and Querulous Criticisms drinks had great flavor. Went down to the Green Room afterwards for trivia and bingo night. A very fun evening out.

We came in because we were in awe at their Instagram page. We ordered the constellations ($19) and the daedalian ($17). From the pictures we saw on their page, I think they are worth the price and we were very excited for them. However, when the drinks came out the presentation fell short. Atmosphere was very beautiful and the service was great, no complaints on that at all. But definitely disappointed because we came here for cute drinks and they did not deliver. We didn’t even bother ordering anything else knowing that their two most expensive drinks came to be lackluster.

It’s a gorgeous spot with really unique cocktails that are reasonably priced and the food is great. Rarely do I walk away from a meal unsure of which plate was the star of the show but everything was equally awesome and our server was so sweet. Put this in your date night rotation!
Chelsea F — Google review
My boyfriend and I unfortunately had a very disappointing & distasteful experience last night at Bluebird Cocktail room on 9/13/25. Our server was extremely disrespectful, dismissive and condescending with her body language and tone throughout our very short time in the restaurant. It was my first time, however my boyfriend comes often and confirmed that last night was his absolute worst experience in the bar. We arrived around 10 pm, were quickly seated & approached by our server in a reasonable amount of time. Everything started great, however when she returned, my partner asked if we could have more time to look at the menu. The server shrugged her shoulders, made a snippy comment, silently stared at us for an unnecessary amount of time and then quickly walked towards her coworkers where we could visibly see her complaining on the way to them. She then took extremely long to return to our table & had a noticeable attitude while speaking to us. I asked if everything was okay given the immediate switch in energy despite our very short time in the space and she continuously repeated "what drink can I get you" in a badgering tone which made us extremely uncomfortable. My partner and I then asked for a different server and she continuously repeated "I'm confused" in a very condescending tone, clearly trying to manipulate/ gaslight the situation. I stated very clearly we do not want to have you as our server and she continued to repeat those comments and began over talking me. I stood up to look for a server/ manager which is when she finally felt compelled to borderline sprint across the restaurant in hopes I assume to intersect my communication with staff. I made it very clear that I did not want her doing that given what just took place. I spoke with the host to express our frustrations who seemed to take things seriously initially, however we saw them both chit chatting/ laughing after the incident. We were promised a new server, which did not happen, resulting in us leaving the restaurant. I was so excited to try this place however I will not be back. We were met with undeserved hostility and as someone that previously worked in the industry, you do not treat your tables in this manner. This was a very unnecessary and senseless interaction. I unfortunately don't have the server's name but she's a short girl about 5 '2, wears glasses and had a longer wrap on slick pony tail.
Haley M — Google review
Was greeted quickly upon entry by a hostess however once at the bar waited 15 minutes and was never greeted or acknowledged. No hello/ good evening, we're busy but here is a drink menu and someone will be with you (eventually). Nothing. I was in front of a bartender the entire time and there wasn't even an attempt to even address our presence. I eventually left without being able to order.
Tiffani D — Google review
Absolutely smooth and gorgeous drinks. For a change, the cocktail den was not some dingy hole in the wall but an open, airy classic old architecture with hints of prohibition vibes. All drinks were very well made. Loved it
Santos S — Google review
2024 Note: The earlier you visit, the better. Dinner is crowded + service is extremely slow during it. We visited for a 7pm res and were only able to put one drink order in a 2-hour period. We'll stay early birds for this bar I think. _______________________ Bluebird is the best cocktail bar I've been to in Baltimore. 👏 From their house-carved ice and thoughtful menu to their charmingly endearing staff and fantastic ambiance, you would be remiss not to visit. I could go into detail about the drinks I've had here, but that would get very lengthy. Whether you go for the strong classics or prefer to taste zero hint of liquor, you'll be able to find multiple options that will suit your palate. If you're not sure what to get, just talk to the staff! They will guide you. 💁‍♀️🍸 ☝️ One thing to point out is that for how much effort they put into their ever-evolving recipes, the cocktails are more reasonably priced in comparison to other well-known establishments in the city. I honestly 💕 love 💕 this bar and really hope everyone who drinks alcohol takes time to visit at least once, though I am 100% sure they would happily accommodate someone who doesn't.

Wet City is not just your typical microbrewery; it's a vibrant spot where you can savor inventive cocktails and indulge in delectable bar food. The minimalist space offers a lively ambiance, making it perfect for enjoying house-made fireball shots with a hot chicken sandwich or sampling their unique brews. Named after Maryland's defiance of alcohol restrictions during Prohibition, this Mount Vernon brewery boasts a colorful array of beers and sours, along with a full cocktail menu.
Great spot. Went on burger night and got the Oklahoma for $3 off, burger and fries were both great. Service was good. Beers were above average. A little too dark inside for me but it’s a vibe.

Finally deciding to review this place after coming here for over 6 or 7 years. Great finger/bar food (especially their wings) and occasionally other exquisite food items like fresh fried fish, etc. Awesome beer and always attracting the greatest folks in Baltimore. Love coming here.

Wet city has some of my favorite beer in the world. Their “Making out with” series is the greatest thing my mouth has landed on beer wise. Also the service here is incredible, the guys behind the bar are so nice and attentive. This was a truly 10/10 experience. I first came here about 2.5 years ago and had a “Making out with Mango” that was the best I’ve ever had, and this place has been in my mind since then and I finally made it back.

This place is the best of the best - great beer list, fun cocktails that don’t take themselves too seriously, and of course amazing food. I’ve been happy with everything I’ve tried from here but the no temp burger and hot chicken are the two bites I always come back to Also, service is always on point.

Wet City knows how to throw a party! 🎷✨ The hospitality was top-tier, and the New Orleans-themed menu for their Vieux Carré Party did not disappoint! Started with a Sazerac and Hurricane—both perfectly crafted. The Viet-Cajun Shrimp Po’Boy was bursting with flavor, and Monroe Hill’s hot sauce took it to another level. With the other NOLA bites sold out, I called an audible and went for the Fried Enoki Mushrooms and deep-fried mega stuffed Oreos—crispy, gooey perfection. Add in live jazz with the Max Jacobs Duo and this was a night to remember. Can’t wait to come back!

I was in town for work and looked up a bunch of breweries open on a Monday. I visited this spot and was instantly greeted. I was told about the $12 burger and $3 dry hopped series beer special! I sat at the bar and was recommended several sounds that were incredible! Exceptional service and cool aesthetic. The buyer was great as well. I forgot to get a copy of the check to get reimbursed through my work and Scott Jones promptly helped me get a copy.

Peter's Inn, located in Fells Point, Baltimore, is a unique and beloved restaurant that has transformed from a former dive bar into a warm and cozy spot known for its farm-to-table American fare and craft cocktails. The owners have successfully combined an intimate atmosphere with a menu that blends contemporary American and international flavors. With an ever-changing menu that adds an element of surprise to each visit, Peter's Inn offers a modern take on gourmet New American cuisine.
Went to Peter’s Inn for Date Night and it did not disappoint! The Martini service was excellent, as was everything we ordered. Be sure to try (if available, the menu changes frequently & is handwritten, a charming departure from QR codes) the Burrata with Beet Gnocchi, any item that includes their Braised short rib & the vanilla gelato with olive oil and fennel!

Glad to have finally made it! Fantastic dinner, started slow but once things got moving, it was great! Ugh the shrimp, halibut, and steak were all cooked perfectly! Everything paired well on each plate! Only thing I would change would be better mixing the shrimp pasta so the sauce and pistachios are more fully mixed in and then there's no seasoning on the burrata. A little freshly ground pepper and/or salt would go a long way, they leave that on the table for you. Very fun night, will be back!

My new favorite restaurant in Baltimore. We went to celebrate a friend's birthday. The restaurant is small and cozy. Squeezing through chairs is part of the experience. I loved the ambiance and charming decor. They have a delicious house salad and the garlic bread is a piece of heaven. We had a fish entree, short rib entree and a pasta dish. Everything was amazing!! They offer a new menu on a regular basis. So good! Highly recommended.

I went to Peter's Inn with my coworkers and it's a night I truly won't forget. From the outside, the restaurant might look like a dive bar. You wouldn't know this restaurant offers a fine dining experience. The ambiance made me feel like I was in one of those quaint, personal, intimate NYC restaurants. Soft lighting, few tables, very moody. I loved every second of the vibe. We ordered tons of food. Every appetizer (oysters, shrimp cocktail, pâté, caviar), salad (super simple and delish) and garlic bread (cheesy, herby, no clue what was on it but it was absolutely incredible and I would eat an entire loaf), espresso martinis, Palomas, Negronis, etc. The entrees change week to week, so don't get to attached to any one thing (follow the Facebook page to get the menu!). It's obvious that they use the freshest ingredients and make every selection with careful consideration. The steak is one of the few items that's always available, and it was simply incredible, seared to perfection, juicy, just delicious. I had the beef short rib in croutes which was unbelievable. Overall, it's a spot that you must experience. It's perfect for date night, a gathering with friends or a solo night eating at the bar. I can't wait to go back! I would have taken more pics but we dove into everything too quickly!
Erin B — Google review
This is a restaurant with HEART! Don’t come with bad moods or in a hurry, order whatever the devil on your shoulder tells you to (steak with foie!) and just enjoy it. The hand written menus and busy buzzy atmosphere are charming. Staff was busy but cool as a cucumber and really lovely. Perfect antidote to the corporatization and franchise-ization of today’s restaurant industry. Long live Peter’s Inn.
S C — Google review
We were in town for a wedding and booked dinner here. We only had appetizers but everything we had was phenomenal! The espresso martinis were great, and our waiter was wonderful! He answered all our questions, and when he didn’t know the answer he asked the chef/owner himself. Would recommend to anyone visiting Baltimore!
Emily R — Google review
This was my second time dining at Peter's Inn and the food was, or course, 10/10. The steak is the best I've had in Baltimore, the garlic bread was top notch, and the drinks were great. I will be back for sure, but I will try to avoid sitting at the bar again for dinner. My mother and I were seated at the end of the bar for our reservation, which we did not mind at first. However, there were 3-4 servers/bartenders behind the bar at all times, yet we had to flag people down for everything, even though we were sitting directly in front them. The bartenders did not voluntarily check on us or look in our direction the whole night. No one behind the bar greeted or looked at us, offered to take our drink order, bus our plates, or place a food order. Instead (and frequently) the servers and bartenders would group up to converse and joke around with each other *directly* in front of us while we sat there with empty drinks and finished appetizer plates. It was almost comical- 5 servers 2 feet away from us hanging out for 5 minutes and not a single one even looked in our direction. It was frustrating, especially because the first time I dined here (at a table), the service was good. I'll be back for the food, but the bar service....beware!
EB — Google review
While everything was very pricey, the fresh made Burratta was not the best I've have had, the "stracciatella" center was not soft and creamy like it was supposed to be, it was actually firm and not so tasty, but the Seared foie gras, fig jam, red wine reduction and rye & hazelnut bread crumbs was very delicious as well as the Hamachi Crudo and the Oysters were Great too!

Chicken restaurant
BRD is a popular counter-serve stop located in R. House food hall, known for its elevated fried chicken sandwiches and wings. The restaurant offers crispy and flavorful chicken sandwiches with the option to choose spice levels and toppings. Customers praise the well-seasoned breading and juicy, tender chicken thigh used in the sandwiches. The BRD sauce is highlighted as a tasty topping and great for dipping fries. While some find the sandwiches mediocre, others appreciate the overall decent quality of the food.
Sooooo Good! I had the Bmore BRD sandwich and it was delicious! The woman was very nice, the food came out very quickly, and it was fresh. The sauce is incredible! Definitely will be back soon and highly recommend to anyone in the area.
M M — Google review
Today was the first time i ordered from this place and I wasn't impressed to be honest. I ordered the BRD tender box meal (two tenders, fries, pickles, garlic bread). I ordered three tenders instead of two because I had no idea that the chicken tenders were the size of chicken breast; and I know that it's all the rage to eat oversized burgers, chicken etc. however, I like my food normal size; oversized food always make me think that it's been injected with steroids. The fries were not that flavorful, nor were they hot and they were quite hard. The hot honey old bay dipping sauce that I paid an extra 0.50 for was pretty good.
OGTripleOG D — Google review
Out of all of the chicken sandwiches I’ve tried, this one tops them all. I love the way the layered the chicken instead of one thick breast. How about they use chicken thigh instead of breast which in my opinion makes for a juicy & tender sandwich. The breading is well seasoned and fried to a perfect crisp. The brd sauce is very tasty and makes for a good topping on the chicken sandwich but even better to dip your fries. Adding slaw to the chicken sandwich creates the perfect blend of semi sweet and savory.
Rob B — Google review
Their chicken used to be incredible - flavorful, crisp, and generous portions. They must have changed what chicken they used because when we got it 2 months ago, the chicken looked like a fast food chain patty and it was mushy. Really disappointing, because they used to be so great. Probably won't come back here.

I take my hat off to the crew - these people better be making $30/hour! Sandwiches were mediocre but leaning on the good side. Coleslaw tasted like it came straight from Jetro… Decent overall.

Like eating a ball of mush. Used to be awesome- great buns, crispy chicken, great flavor. Bun was soggy and less than a 1/4” thick. Chicken was mushy inside and out. Flavor not great. What happened?
MICHAEL W — Google review
Really excellent chicken sandwiches for a reasonable price! Fries are good as well, maybe 4 star fries, but the chicken was a real 10/10. Baltimore flavor has a nice bright acidity to it, really delicious!
Kailin G — Google review
Located inside a food hall this place specializes in fried chicken sandwiches. You can choose the spice level and what toppings you'd like on your sandwich. The chicken was crispy and flavorful, didn't get a chance to try any of the sides this time. If you want a good fried chicken sandwich, this is a good option.

Neopol Savory Smokery is a beloved spot in Belvedere Square, Baltimore. Visitors rave about the exceptional sandwiches and smoked seafood, such as the pork loin and smoked salmon BLT. The egg salad BLT is also highly recommended for its traditional chopped style and flavorful ingredients. Customers appreciate the clean and simple dining experience at Neopol, making it a go-to choice for locals and visitors alike.
One word to describe The Neopol Savory Smokery would be Phenomenal! My niece and I both traveled quite a distance to experience Neopol’s famous smoked mussels and darling they did not disappoint! I’m new to the DMV area but my niece is more familiar so she came down from Philadelphia picked me up from Temple Hills MD and we drove about an hour to The Belvedere Square to try this restaurant. Trusting my niece and her foodie judgment I didn’t hesitate to take the trip. We came for the smoked mussels but we also decided to try some of their other menu favorites which was the smoked salmon on rye and their egg salad on rye as well; the smoked salmon was fantastic with a beautiful savory taste. The egg salad was surprisingly not just a typical good egg salad. I don’t know exactly what they put in it but we were both impressed! If you are a fan of smoked meats do yourself a favor and treat yourself and someone you love to this place because it’s too good to not share with someone!

In A Nutshell: -Neopol is very popular for it's Salmon BLT sandwich. -This location is inside the Belvedere Square Market. -The Salmon BLT is made of hot smoked salmon, house cured Berkshire bacon, plus has tomato, red onion & homemade duon aioli! -They had some Seasoned Tofu pieces that I thought were interesting. Overall, the service is super-friendly & the sandwich so delicious, it hit the spot for lunch.

This place makes the best sandwiches and on top of that, the service is superb. I know their people are swamped but they’re pleasant and patient - going here is such a pleasure. The closest thing to a downside is that their dog treats turn my sheltie into an absolute little monster! I tried to get a picture of the cute bone shaped biscuit but as you can see, there was no time.

I ordered the salmon blt online didn’t get a chance to experience in person. I enjoyed the blt however it lacked a little flavor…bit for my first time trying this I was satisfied. I did also, try mussels for the first time and it was buy 1 get 1 on Uber eats however, I only received 1 which was disappointing as a new customer. Other than that no complaints..I’m looking to try the catfish or shrimp salad next.

Sometimes you take your local place for granted. I came to Belvedere Square for lunch and tempered how much I love the food here. I have never had a bad meal, today we got sandwiches that were out of this world! We got the pork loin and smoked salmon BLT. The pork loin was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a while! We also got the smoked shrimp ( warmed up) and shrimp salad, with a artichoke and cheese tart to take home. If you eat your sandwich there while it’s still hot, it’s extra awesome! I wish I leaved closer so o could it there more often, but I just found out they deliver now on DoorDash! Soooooo that you for your wonderful food and great service, and we’ll be back soon!

Woodberry Kitchen is a trendy, upscale restaurant located in a renovated old factory, offering refined New American cuisine with a farm-to-table focus. The menu features locally sourced ingredients from Chesapeake farmers, including a breakfast selection of freshly baked pastries and traditional brunch dishes. The restaurant has received numerous awards and accolades, contributing to its popularity among both locals and tourists.
Excellent food, attentive and friendly service, great vibes. What more could you want? I’ve been a couple of times and my experience is consistently lovely. The Tavern dining room is small, so I recommend a reservation, especially for larger parties. I think the largest they can seat in their standard set up is 6.

We had our micro wedding with 21 attendees at Woodberry Kitchen in March 2025. We got married on the patio and had our reception inside. We could not have picked a better venue for our wedding - it was the perfect size, price, etc. Woodberry Kitchen is the whole package for weddings and events. Everyone who came to our wedding talked about how wonderful the wedding and venue was - aesthetically pleasing and intimate with amazing food. Jolanta was great to work with throughout the planning process and listened to all of our requests and concerns, and Amanda was fantastic the day of the event, making sure everything went smoothly. If you're getting married or hosting an event in Baltimore, Woodberry Kitchen is a no-brainer for your dream venue!

First, I would say it started off great. I couldn't find the restaurant because I didn't see the name of the building, but the waitress was friendly enough to meet us outside. The restaurant has a rustic feel to it. It's not fancy on the inside, but it has brick walls, hence an old mill. The menu is limited, but I did order a drink. I had the deviled eggs, which is only one egg cut in half. I had the salad, and steak. Honestly, it wasn't my preferred cut, so I only had one piece of the steak. The taste of the food was somewhat bland. For some reason, once the food order was placed, I saw the waitress, but I had to get another waiter to help with some other things, including my dessert. My dessert was the best part of the meal, and please note that an automatic 20% gratuity was added regardless of the party size. I would recommend this location for venue only. The wedding party seems to be the only thing that was a success.
Armenia B — Google review
We had an amazing dinner at The Tavern at Woodberry Kitchen. Our reservation was for two at 8:30 PM, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. We started with the short rib empanadas, which were rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The young lettuce salad was light and fresh, and the Everything Spring Salad, while more of a side dish than a traditional salad, was still delicious. The grilled zucchini in it really stood out. For mains, we had the fish and chips, with catfish as the fish of choice. It was delicate, perfectly cooked, and paired with crispy, well-seasoned fries. We also had the tavern steak frites cooked to your choice of doneness, and it was tender, flavorful, and satisfying. The blackberry mojitos were refreshing and perfectly balanced. It's definitely a cocktail we’d order again. Dessert was the chocolate cake, rich and indulgent, and a perfect way to end the night. Our server was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable, not just about the menu but also about the restaurant’s history and the neighborhood. Highly recommend this spot for a relaxed evening with great food, drinks, and thoughtful service.

As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the opportunity to work at quite a few venues, but few stand out as clearly and memorably as Woodberry Kitchen. From the moment you walk in, the space feels warm, textured, and effortlessly elegant. The rich character of the brick walls and bistro lights paired with natural light streaming through large windows, creates the perfect canvas for timeless, romantic images. Every corner of the venue offers something visually compelling. What truly elevates this venue beyond its aesthetic is the team behind it. The venue coordinators are not only organized and attentive to the couple’s needs, but they also go out of their way to support the vendors. As a photographer, it makes a huge difference when the staff is communicative, flexible with timelines, and genuinely kind. Their collaborative attitude ensures that the day flows smoothly, allowing everyone to do their best work while keeping the focus on the couple’s experience. And let’s not forget the food—absolutely outstanding. I can't wait to bring my husband here for dinner. Often, vendor meals are an afterthought, but here, the team makes sure that we are fed and if it doesn't work in our timeline, they pack it up in to-go boxes for us. The food is always a highlight in its own right. This venue is a dream for photographers and a treasure for couples. I can’t recommend it highly enough—for its beauty, for its team, and for the exceptional experience it creates for everyone involved. Can't wait to be back! The incredible florals in these images are by Gott Efni or Yarrow Floral Co.

The atmosphere at Tavern at Woodberry is so relaxing — you instantly feel at home. The building itself is gorgeous and gives off such a warm, cozy vibe. Their wine list and beer selection are thoughtfully curated, focusing on local and sustainable options, which I really appreciate. We started with the board — a perfect sampler — and the greens were fresh and crisp. The burger was top-notch: full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and paired with fries that were cut and seasoned just right. Dessert definitely had that “wow” presentation, though it wasn’t our favorite flavor-wise. Grateful for the warm, friendly service and such a tasty highlight to the weekend. 🍷🍔✨

Visited here for a rheumatology conference. So we had the back room in the back patio available to us. Beautiful location with ample space however, the table seating was a little bit tight. The service staff was incredibly friendly and was always refilling drinks and bringing around more option for food. For dinner, we had the chicken and the rockfish. Both were cooked perfectly, but the portions were rather small, so could have used a little bit more to eat. The flourless chocolate cake was good, but I’ve definitely had a more decadent flourless chocolate cake elsewhere.

It was our first dining experience here, and it lived up to the online reviews. Service was fast and attentive......thanks Char! Tried several seasonal cocktails, and they all were enjoyable. The food was flavorful. The stuffed eggplant stood out by itself. The coppa steak could have been plated with a starch and the savory crab pie with some greens. The choices for table sides were limited. Definitely will be back!

Guinness Open Gate Brewery is a modern complex located just outside of Baltimore, featuring a taproom, biergarten, restaurant, guided tours, and a brand store. This brewery marks Guinness's first U.S. brewery in over 60 years and offers experimental beers brewed on-site in Maryland. The facility also features collaborations with CaNe collective to create unique beverages like the Beer-mosa and Blonde Michelada.
We did the history and tasting tour. It was very well done and informative. Our guide, Pip, was awesome. Made the tour fun, and they were very personable and knowledgeable. We then enjoyed dinner at the Taproom, which had delicious food and attentive service.

Pretty good lunch here! Not a beer drinker unfortunately, so my primary comment is on the crab cake sandwich I had which was good. They gave a lot of crab which I appreciated and the fries and coleslaw were tasty too. I did try a taste of my friend’s Guinness which I thought was good. Would recommend and they offer tours!

I was a bit disappointed here. It was very cold, corporate like and the staff were not very warm or inviting. They seemed more annoyed than anything. I guess we interrupted their personal conversations. The drinks were great however. The gift shop was adequate. I guess I expected too much. Looks like a decent place to throw a party. Definitely big, but lacks warmth and charm.

Great facility with many options! Indoor or outdoor seating; comfy barstool at the large rectangular bar or chair at a table; high table or regular height; picnic table or cozy patio around a fire pit. You choose and this isn't even all the options available... The menu offers a good selection of various cultural- and American-style foods as appetizers, entrees, etc. The beer is really excellent -- staff was happy to guide you to your best personal taste in beers and let you sample to see what appeals most. There is a gift shop with cool momentos and select your own four-pack, or fill a growler or large can with your favorite. Tours are also available. Our food was tasty and arrived quickly after our order was placed.

This place is one of my favorite places in the greater Baltimore area. The brewery is huge, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Whether you’re sitting at the bar for a pint and a snack or sitting down at a table for a meal, you’ll have a great time. The interior is your classic industrial brewery with a bunch of fun Guinness signs and memorabilia. It seemed like there were tons of staff working so our food and drinks arrived quickly. If you sit inside in the taproom they have $40 for 4 sliders and 4 pints of Guinness Draught which is a great deal if you’re visiting with a couple friends! It’s conveniently located right off of Route 1, it sits by itself but it’s easy enough to hop right onto the highway and head into the city or over to another town. They seem to have a variety of fun events throughout the year whether it’s trivia night, football Sunday, Oktoberfest, etc, you name it. They also have several different brewery tours that run most days of the week. Definitely worth a visit!

Guinness Open Gate Baltimore is Disney World for beer drinkers! We visited last year for the first time and couldn't wait to visit again. This trip was planned specifically to take the History Tour & tasting. Pip was a fantastic tour guide! They made it informative & entertaining. The entire experience was everything we hoped for & more. The variety of beer & food is wonderful. Get the Smith Island Cake. Seriously, Best. Cake. Ever.

My daughters (10 and 12) and I came here for lunch after dropping my wife off for a flight at BWI (it's just 7 minutes from BWI). So is this place family friendly…Yes. There were families there with kids of varying ages. There is the Beer Garden which is a large outdoor area with picnic tables and umbrellas and the Taproom that is indoor. The Beer Garden and the Taproom have different menus with the Beer Garden being the more limited of the two. Since it was a beautiful day we ate in the Beer Garden. The area was also pet friendly as we saw two families with dogs. You scan the barcode at your table, place your order and they bring the food to your table. The staff there were great. My oldest had the Chicken Tenders + Fries and my youngest and I had the Beer Garden Burger. The portions were a little on the large side for the girls (they don't have a kids menu). Though they enjoyed it they could not finish their food. My burger was really good and I had a little sample of the tenders and they were good also. They have a huge selection of beers but since I was driving I had to stick to lemonade. I had the Guava Tiki Lemonade and my youngest had the Southside lemonade (lime and mint). Inside a dining area (where they serve the Tap Room menu), bar area and gift shop. It's laid out very nicely with lots of Guinness historical info. Overall it was a great experience and I definitely want to go back when I am not the designated driver.

We love going to Guinness’ Open Gate Brewery in Halethorpe, MD every chance we get. We participated in the Hidden Harp Pub experience during their Oktoberfest event and thoroughly enjoyed it. Rachel was a fantastic hostess; she gave an excellent presentation! We look forward to going to the Hidden Harp again! You do need tickets for that so look it up on Open Gate’s website. Slainte!

Restaurant
Holy Frijoles is a lively Mexican restaurant located in the Hampden area, offering a casual and festive atmosphere. The eatery serves traditional Mexican dishes along with a variety of margaritas, making it an ideal spot for celebrations. Guests can enjoy classic margaritas or customize their drinks with options like mango, strawberry, prickly pear, or pomegranate puree. The restaurant also features Happy Hour specials including $3 Mexican drafts and $5 margaritas.
Detailed order description at sincerefoodiemia on Instagram 💅🏼 Amazing happy hour margaritas and best chimichanga ever!!! Follow me at sincerefoodiemia on insta if you are curious about which margaritas I got and what I ordered specifically for the chimichanga 😆 Honestly, I want to gatekeep this place because the whole bill which includes 3 margs, chips and salsa, and chimichanga came out to be about $28. IN THIS ECONOMY. Whoever is running Holy Frijoles, God bless you. Basically, you order at the bar and then choose to either keep a running tab or close it. I closed the tab cuz rn I am so broke. The person at the bar taking orders at between 5-7 pm on the 18th was really nice, I always pepper people with questions of what to get and what they recommend but he was super patient with me and I was able to make a good decision. The person who gave me the chimichanga was so nice too, asking if we are all good or need anything and giving us a ton of napkins and plastic utensils. 100% will return again once my wallet is restored from Black Friday shopping 🤡

This is literally my favorite place in all of Baltimore. I've been coming here since they opened in 1996 and they've never disappointed. Best margs I've ever had - like no place beats them, and they're cheap! The food is solid. My faves are the triple dip, chicken tacos, and fried plantains, but everything is good. The bartenders are lovely, kind, inclusive, and friendly. I always feel welcome and at home here. I come here at least once every 2 weeks and I always love it.

Never had a bad time at this bar! The owner is the coolest cat, and the staff is always amazing :) food is primo! Can’t wait to camp out in front of it again for the annual Mayor’s Day Parade! It’s been a tradition for a long time and this restaurant makes it even better :)

Came here on Wednesday September 24th 2025 I got 3 drinks for me and my friends and paid in cash around 7:45pm. We were late for the pinball league that day so I was feeling a bit rushed from my friend group. When I left the bar I forgot to tip, I’m also used to automatic gratuity that we do at the bar I work at. I realize my mistake about 15 minutes later and I come back to the bar with more cash to tip the bartender but I never got to because he walks by real fast and claims he’s not serving me anymore. Eventually I get the attention of his colleague who I inform him that I’m guessing it’s because I forgot to tip and the colleague tells me I am correct. I give them the tip money anyways; however I feel like it was incredibly unprofessional of the bartender (who was wearing the white baseball cap). As a bartender/manager myself if a guest doesn’t tip, it never affects my service quality. I don’t know the reason. They may get my tip on the next round or when they leave; in cash. you never know! In my case I literally forgot and had come back a few minutes later to correct my mistake but I was turned away by unprofessional service. You’re costing yourself money and the business money with that attitude. You didn’t even have the confidence or professionalism to tell me why yourself or try to resolve the issue. I had to find out from your co-worker, who imo handled it very well.

Came here for to see show and it was a great little place. Bar service was quick, even when busy. The drinks were also super reasonable in price. The main reason i came was to support some local music and I can see why people love coming here for shows. Great music space with a unique style.

We were at Frazier’s across the street and got hungry. Needed something good that wasn’t gonna break the bank. Got guac and some tacos. Super tasty! I didn’t have anything to drink but heard that the margarita was good. Was a liiiiiitle dirty inside but I expect that from a place like this where it’s sorta walk-up service and cafe style.

The tall, blonde bartender at Holy Frijoles exhibits fraudulent, illegal behavior. About a year ago, I noticed I was getting charged $1 more than I was authorizing (if I authorized $12, I would be charged $13). This happened on multiple occasions and, at some point, is not a mistake. I was constantly having to dispute the charges. One recent Monday, I decided to visit Holy Frijoles for their happy hour deals. I brought cash with me and confirmed with many sources the price of the item I was receiving; I did not want to deal with the bartender’s dishonest ways. Unfortunately, he ended up being the one serving me. He told me the item was $9. Suspicious, but I paid. When my friend arrived, she ordered the same thing as me and I noticed on her receipt the same item was $8. Confused, I confronted the bartender about this. “That says $8, why’d you charge me $9?” He nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders and said, “I don’t really know what to tell you.” He walked away for a moment and then came back and said, “I don’t ever recall you tipping, so I don’t really care how much you pay.” Not sure where this came from—I hadn’t been to Holy Frijoles for a year (perhaps he thinks all black people look the same?). Additionally, I have a history of tipping despite his tendency to give himself more than authorized. Lying about the cost of an item is illegal and fraudulent (but seems to line up with his entitled behavior). In addition to his fraudulence, amongst customers, this same bartender has a rude and sassy attitude. That being said, if you wish to stop by Holy Frijoles, do not allow the tall, blonde bartender to serve you. Save yourself the dishonesty and annoyance of having to dispute a charge or two.

Bar Vasquez is a sophisticated Argentinean bar, lounge, and restaurant located in Baltimore. The establishment offers a polished yet rustic space where guests can enjoy classic Argentinean dishes paired with cocktails and an extensive whiskey list. The restaurant celebrates the essence of Argentine cooking by focusing on meat, fire, and seasonal ingredients. Live music performed by local musicians adds to the vibrant atmosphere of the venue each night.
Went here for a birthday dinner during the week and it’s so beautifully decorated on the inside. The lighting created a romantic mood. Staff was friendly and our waiter was very attentive and explained the menu and made good suggestions. The food was cooked perfectly, nice sized portions. The lamb chops were seasoned and tender. Since it was my birthday they gave me a complimentary dessert. Will be dining here again in the near future!

The hospitality was superb. The staff and waiters are super nice, helpful, and polite. The service was good. Would have preferred to have a less wait time between courses (5-8 min). I really enjoyed the food. Came with free bread and wine butter. It tasted great and the presentation was very classy. Portion sizes were adequate. The ambiance was magnificent coming with a live band on certain nights at certain times making it a great place if you want to impress a date.

I wish I could give it a 5*, but due to covid19 I have to hold the 5* until we go visit when everything is back to normal. Found it online for Valentine’s Day celebration. We definitely will be back! Photographs speak for themselves, but I have to tell you that this restaurant is amazing. We have a lot of food from the menu to taste yet, but the experience we had visiting during covid19, overall, was very satisfying. The food, the service, the style, the plating, the decor, the cleanliness and the environment; everything was very enjoyable. Covid19 restrictions: 1 hour dining :( - (city area only) - this is one of the reasons for the 4* 6 feet distance Masks 😷 Parking information: Paid parking, restricted depending on weekdays and time, but it is free on weekends.

Wonderful establishment. The decor is stunning and within walking distance of Fells Point and the Inner Harbor. Our server Dave was great. We never had to ask for drink refills, he was constantly refilling our glasses. We started off with various cocktails 🍹🍸and enjoyed a bottle of Cabernet Franc 🍷 we happily were there during restaurant week so I was able to enjoy a 3 course meal for $35 😋👍🏼my husband enjoyed his steak and 2 others the salmon and another the short rib. Quite pleased with this visit and look forward to returning and trying their sister restaurants. 👏🏼😛⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The food was fantastic! Service was excellent, chic ambiance, great live music. Didn't care for their cocktails though. I'm not a great fan of the new age cocktails of herbs and alcohol. Lovely wine selection.

**click on my name to see all 13pictures** Proper attire required, Valet Parking on site (5$ validated) The place is elegant in and on itself, a two story restaurant open barn style feel on the inside with intimate/inviting setting on each table. When we walked in we were escorted to the Bar/Lounge area to wait for our table to be ready (place was full as it was still Restaurant week). Drinks were refreshing and delicious, food- appetizers and entrees- were exquisite and perfectly cooked, desserts were an interesting mix although delicious as well. Service was really good and attentive throughout the time we were there. Its a great place for intimate/romantic dinners. Price wise I would give it 4/5.

Wow! What more can I say? Well, let me try... I visited this restaurant this evening because we had a pharmaceutical dinner there. Fantastic choice Gilead! Everything from parking to entering the establishment was fantastic! The restaurant is in a very very busy and popular area of Harbor East/ Fells Point but I managed to get parking directly in front of the establishment at a meter that ended at 8 p.m. I paid less than 2 bucks to park. Anyway, as soon as I walked in I was greeted by an employee who offered to take me to my party. To be honest, I wasn't ready to be seated. This place is absolutely gorgeous! The ceilings are almost non-existent because they're so high and the decor is beautiful! From upstairs, they have a overlook where you can see everyone downstairs in the dining area as well as the bar. The private rooms are very intimate and well-decorated. They have a few private rooms that can host parties as small as 5 as large as is 20+. Within two minutes of sitting down, I was greeted by Gregory offering beverage of choice. From then on, everything continued to stay consistent with being flawless. After a few rounds of delicious appetizers, I ordered the Sopa de Bife en Caldo (Oxtail Soup), Pollo a la Plancha & Banana Cocunut Mousse. Each and every single thing was delicious! The attention given by all of the staff members especially Gregory was impeccable! They always came around at the best times, and made sure we had everything needed at all times. The climate was really comfortable, clean and Visually beautiful and the location was perfect! I definitely look forward to returning back with friends and family members not only to attend happy hour but also to grab a meal and fellowship with those I love. If you have not been here, make it a priority to come! You will not be disappointed! Great addition to Harbor East/ Fells Point!

This was our fifth visit to BV, first for a holiday/event menu. Overall, still one of our city favorites. Great place for a night out with someone special or friends. Have been a couple times and BV never disappoints. Went for New Year's Eve and had a great evening. They were offering a prix fixe, 3 course menu for $89/person. We had the tuna tartare (wish this was always on the menu), crispy oysters, braised shirt rib (huge portion) and the lamb chops (2 bones). We both had the pear empanada with vanilla bean honey & matcha green ice cream for dessert. Worth the splurge, with the tuna tartare being the standout. Pros: great atmosphere, live music, attentive staff, delicious meal and great wine selection. Cons: 30 minutes late being seated and lamb was underdone (ordered medium, came out rare). Despite running behind on reservations, the staff was attentive and proactive in letting us know as soon as we arrived. We had a 10pm reservation and were planning on being there to ring in the New Year so that was not an issue for us. There was ample seating at the 2nd floor bar so we order cocktails and enjoyed the music while waiting. The lamb came out underdone but my guy was ok with that. If it were mine, I would have had to ask for a few more minutes on the fire. I'm willing to let that slide once. That was the first "doneness" issue we had after multiple dining experiences. I'm sure had we asked, they would have remedied but we didn't ask so can't hold that against them.
