Rawlings Conservatory is a grand Victorian-era conservatory located in Druid Hill Park, Baltimore. It features 0.5 acres of gardens and five greenhouse areas, each with its own unique theme. The Palm House and Orchid Room are original to the 1888 construction, while the Mediterranean House, Tropical House, and Desert Houses were added in a 2004 remodel. The conservatory's stunning architecture includes floor-to-ceiling white paned windows that flood the space with light.
Absolutely beautiful!! We visited Sunday afternoon. It was hard to believe we were in the middle of a large northeast city standing amongst such tropical beauty! The shrubbery and flowering plants were amazing! The orchid and lily rooms had so many gorgeous varieties. Friendly informative staff and just a great place to visit. It is free admission with a small suggested donation. They will be having a spring sale from April 5-20. Will definitely be going to check it out!

Beauty and peace in one stunning 19th century conservancy. A truly tranquil experience! A lovely pathway visiting various biomes which you can meander in any direction. The orchid garden serves as the gateway to the tallest of the conservancy rooms, with trees and a nice wooden pier. Smells are wonderful and trickling water can be heard in certain sections. Describing the Rawlings Conservancy in one word: Serenity.

One of the few enjoyable aspects of Baltimore. Beautiful conservatory and a great spot to visit for those coming from out of town. Friendly staff and overall fun experience. There’s a small little free library out front near a willow tree in desperate need of a clean up and paint…
Maddy S — Google review
It was small but very well maintained and operated off of tips. It housed a nice collection of plants. The grounds had a few ball fields and some trails perfect for a day at the park

Beautiful indoor gardens with several distinct areas to explore. Pleasant staff too.

I love this beautiful place filled with extraordinary plants. I’ve never seen plants this large before. The koi pool was beautiful. It’s a relaxing atmosphere and it has a guided walk app which informs about all of the plants you’ll see. I’ve brought many people here and all loved the experience. The outside grounds are also beautiful. Excellent for photo ops.

I really enjoy visiting. It always brings a calm during the day. They accept donations (card of cash). Very worth it.

Great hidden gem in the city, small but there are a handful of rooms (tropical house was my favorite). Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Entry is free but I do recommend bringing cash for a small donation.

The George Peabody Library, located at Johns Hopkins University, is a renowned 19th-century research library known for its stunning Greek Revival interior and impressive collection of over 300,000 historic volumes. Established in 1857 as part of the Peabody Institute of the City of Baltimore, it was funded by George Peabody and designed by architect Edmund G. Lind.
This is a must watch. A great photo opportunity. I haven’t see this big, magnificent library in my life. Architecture is very impressive. You can walk around first floor only. There are so many old books, so please keep in mind to leave them as it is.
Nathasha W — Google review
Wow what a beautiful library. It is immense and really intriguing. The upper levels are not accessible. There are really old books here and there is a librarian who can get books that you want checked out and you would only allowed to read it in front of him and then return it to him before leaving. The main level, is for anyone wanting to study in this beautiful library. There are some books, but most are just strapped closed because they are so old they are literally falling apart.
Thu-Nga M — Google review
I’ve photographed weddings in many beautiful spaces, but the George Peabody Library is truly unforgettable. Towering stacks of books, a warm golden glow, and a stunning spiral staircase make it breathtaking for both ceremonies and receptions. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive, and being steps from Mount Vernon means even more gorgeous portrait spots. After capturing over 200 weddings since 2012, I can confidently say this venue blends historic beauty, romance, and atmosphere like no other. I can’t wait to be back in this magical library. 📚✨ @amypaperbird

A stunning library open to the public! I think I saw it on an Instagram add and have had it on my list since then so I was pleasantly surprised to be visiting Baltimore. I’ve been in other pretty libraries like this where you had a bit more access and would have loved to be able to walk around more than just the bottom to peruse some more. The lighting isn’t quite as advertised either but I’m not complaining. I spent some time at one of the tables just soaking in the beauty. Definitely worth the stop for me.
Amanda — Google review
Very impressive library. It definitely is something to visit if you visit Baltimore. If you like architecture and being taken back in time, this is a place you should visit.
Rich K — Google review
This is a truly iconic and beautiful library, and it is one of my favorite places to study. The lighting is great (calming in a way), and there are many outlets in each study nook. This library is nearly perfect, with the only flaw being the hours. I wish there were weekend hours, and I wish it's open a bit later. As much as I love it here, I frequently use the nearby Enoch Pratt Central Library for that reason.
Matthew Y — Google review
Absolutely stunning, completely unaware Peabody and Hopkins were buddies. Free admission, 2 hour limit parking found a spot right away. Beautiful park across and not to mention a church with stunning architecture. A serene place outside and inside just beautiful.
La D — Google review
Often said to be one of the most beautiful libraries in the country, it's worth a visit. Paid street parking is easy to find nearby. Open during the day every day except Friday and Saturday, walk inside. When you see the check-in area, go left for a little exhibit space and the door to the library. It's very large with stunning design. You can't go up any stairs so stay on the ground floor, keeping quiet out of respect to the people studying.

Sherwood Gardens, located in North Baltimore, is a stunning free-admission garden established in the 1920s by John W. Sherwood. Spanning over six acres, this private park is open to the public 24 hours a day and features an array of floral specimens including tulips, azaleas, and magnolias.
This is Beautiful place in the middle of Baltimore, past JHU campus. The area is very open. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here. I saw people picnicking, taking photos, sitting on the benches, and just walking around. Will visit again when the tulips are in bloom!
N T — Google review
Nice open area great for family picnics, photos or playing games. There are tons of tulips and there is a guide telling you the names of each type. Had a great time walking around with my family and playing tag with my kids. Unfortunately no restrooms so had to leave earlier than we wanted.

Beautiful park nestled in the neighborhood of Guliford. Me and my daughter brought our dog for a bucket list. She unfortunately is sick so trying to do special things with her before it is her time..

Beautiful, well-kept gardens. There are lots of tulips blooming in mid-April. Great place to picnic.

Gorgeous hidden gem of a park/arboretum a little past Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. It is a small, privately owned park but free and open to the public. The park is very clean and well managed. There are no public bathrooms, trash cans, or sidewalks, and the pastoral lands look more beautiful and clean for it. Even when visiting out of tulip season April-May, there were still many gorgeous trees to look at, as well as admiring the historic buildings on site and bordering the park. The place is very ideal for a quick walk or sunny picnic day out. Highly recommend
Juhi P — Google review
I absolutely loved these gardens. It's in a beautiful area that's definitely worth a visit. I expected this place to be an actual park with an admissions desk and all that. But, it's actually an open park where anyone can walk, which is a nice benefit! To my surprise, there were not many people walking around here at all -- in fact, it was really empty and quiet. That was another nice benefit! Just the sound of the light breeze, birds, and leaves. Amazing place to relax in!
Eli M — Google review
Love this peaceful place of delight that has the most awesome array of different colored tulips that I've ever seen in one place. It also has beautiful Azeila trees that are lovely to not only look at but sit under on your beach towel or blanket & read a good book &/or have a picnic. I've been here 5 times total over the year, including this year as well as last year. I'm pretty sure it's gonna become a yearly tradition from now on.

The Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower stands as a historic gem in Baltimore's skyline, echoing the grandeur of Italy's Palazzo Vecchio since its establishment in 1911. This iconic structure has been transformed into a vibrant creative hub for artists, photographers, and writers within the Bromo Arts and Entertainment District. Visitors can explore various art studios and gallery spaces that showcase local talent, including the Emerge series dedicated to emerging artists.
At the Bromo-Seltzer tower, you can hear the echoes of the past ringing loud and clear. Of the many artworks on display in the building, one artist brings visuals of bright jazz music to mingle with those echoes of clinking cobalt and heavy machinery. Although some notable aspects of the museum (honestly, the whole building is a museum in a way) were out of commission this visit due to inspections and repairs, I can imagine how incredible this attraction would be in full swing - bold sculptures in the lobby, the clock ticking away, the hand elevator working with an operator at the ready dressed in period garb, drinks in the clock tower at night, ringing in the New Year, secret tours to the extra levels above the clock. Okay, so they don't do the last few in the list according to the docents, but wouldn't it be cool? A girl can dream! Still, it was fun to see the art, clock and machinery and to learn about the history of the factory from the friendly docents. This is a place to come back to over and over again.
Alyssa — Google review
I was so happy to visit the Bromo-Seltzer Clocktower! I bought a Groupon that was for two people, and I was solo, so I gave my extra ticket to one of the ladies that showed up to the tour. I got to the tower at 11 AM on a Saturday and was really happy to not only ride the Otis elevator, but to visit inside the clock tower and see the relay system for the elevator along with the weighted mechanism that runs the clock. The museum was also fascinating ! This clock tower is bigger than big Ben! The folks working inside this historical attraction were very informative and kind. My only wish is that there were some posters to buy or postcards or T-shirts that features the clock tower. I would’ve been happy to buy some souvenirs! I would definitely return here again and it was a wonderful experience to walk down the 15 flight of stairs and see all the artwork lining the walls. The entrance fee was very affordable, and it is a great lesson in history! This tower used to be topped with a stainless steel 51 foot blue bromo-seltzer bottle that rotated - with a crown on top - it was lit up at night. I wish I could’ve been alive prior to the 1930s and gotten to see such a sight -before it was taken down! I am a person with a disability, to see the clocktower was doable - if you can do two short flights of steep stairs. There are handrails on the stairs.
Emily V — Google review
One of Baltimore's underrated landmarks! This tower defines helps everyone within a distance from it, answer,z "What time is it?" They do offer tours in the tower for $8. The building is only open to the public for 2 days a week. It is notnly a museum, but, home for a handful of local creators. Ad, this is a house of studios for artist to create! On the way down the stairwell, their works are up on the walls. This makes thie Bromo Seltzer Arts Towrr a great place to inspire other local creators!
TJ T — Google review
A very cool and unique experience. The clock tower itself feels like a step back in time, and almost fairytale-esque. Then floor after floor of art pieces to enjoy. A wonderful experience for a great price.
Gill P — Google review
Waiting for the start of a nasty-weather game at M&T Bank Stadium, we decided to explore the clock tower and art galleries. It was fun. The clock, which is over 100 y.o. with faces in four directions, is fascinating to see. The cost was $8 per person. There were only two artists (that we saw, at least) but they both took time to describe their work and techniques. Nice!
SP H — Google review
The self-guided tour of the tower with both art galleries and the clockworks is a definite hidden gem in downtown Baltimore. A 3 room exhibit on the top floor houses a museum of Emerson Drug company history, advertising, and the iconic blue bottles. Views of the downtown area are nice from the 15th floor. The one thing this site lacks is a gift shop, but the stairwell art exhibits and guides in both the museum rooms and clockwork room make up for it. A nice hour or so worth of nostalgia with a uniquely Baltimore twist. Take the elevator or make the 15 floor climb to the top, but note that the clockworks room is accessed only by a ship's ladder style staircase, so there is no handicapped access to the clockworks room.
Catherine W — Google review
This visit was very worthwhile. According to the sign on the street, the clock tower ‘tour’ runs from 11 am to 4pm on Saturday only. It was minimally priced. As a senior I paid only $6. The charm of the building starts with the elevator floor dial. It’s one of those arched dials with a pointer that move to show you what’s floor the elevator is at. The clock tower is just above the 15th floor, and the Bromo Seltzer museum on that floor is very interesting. The star of the show is the clock tower room. What I first noticed was the clacking of the relays that control the elevators. In this digital electronics age, it was a blast to see an old fashioned relay panel (at least it was to me). There are also the old Otis motors running the elevators. The clock mechanism is pretty amazing. Driven by weights and regulated by a pendulum, the intricate drive turns the hands on four dials simultaneously. The guide said that the clock advances two seconds for every swing of the pendulum. The frosted glass dials are held in by massive clamps, which look like they can be removed to do maintenance on the clock hands. You also see the led floods that back illuminate the dials at night. And finally, you can walk down the stairway to see informal exhibits of the resident artists’ works. All in all, a worthwhile hour-and-a-half on a Saturday morning.
Rob S — Google review
The bromo Seltzer tower is impressive architecturally, the history behind it is also quite interesting. The glass bottle collection is nice to see, the presentation about Bromo Seltzer and its founder, Isaac Emerson well worth attending. Overall, a captivating visit about Baltimore memorabilia, I had always seen the tower as I drove by, I really wanted to visit it and I was finally able to do it.

The American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore offers a unique museum experience with rotating exhibits by self-taught artists, showcasing works from individuals such as farmers, mathematicians, and prison inmates. The museum challenges traditional notions of professional artistry and features an unconventional architectural layout with curved hallways and rounded gallery walls. Visitors can explore a diverse range of artwork including embroidery, graffiti, sculpture, and film created from unusual mediums like toothpicks and household condiments.
For starters you can go to their gift shop called the “side show” for free and support those artists. Normally gift shops are steep, but this one is not that way. Everything is priced really fairly and has been curated over many decades. I spent about 2hrs at the museum. The museum two buildings, the round mosaic building has 4 floors of art. When I was there it was mixed media. The second building (which you get to by walking through the outdoor sculpture garden) has kinetic art, which means it moves! It has three floors, the third one lets you go into this cool birds nest balcony. There is a lot of attention to detail and cohesion, jam packing art even into the bathrooms or elevators. The stair railings incorporate the cast metal look tree branches and organically bent metal tubing that cohesively can be found if you look closely in the benches, outdoor sculptures, and door handles across the multiple buildings. This is not just celebrating art but showing by example how it can be incorporated into mundane furnishings. Next to highlight the platform and investment this museum put into the children of the community from displaying art to having the mosaics projects that adorn the building involve them. Highly recommend you support .
Melissa G — Google review
Really loved this museum. Great art from only self taught artists, which really shows and is more genuine. Multiple floors in both buildings (ticketed only $10), plus a sculpture garden and tree house you can walk through, ticket or not. The outside of the building is really cool with mosaics and sculptures mounted around. I would highly recommend going in or the very least, walk around the area. I will be going back for new exhibits and look forward to it. The staff were all very nice and informative, as well as, holding knowledgeable and engaging conversations. Even recommendations for local food, ect. spots based on requested restrictions. Being knowledgeable of the area already, the recommended locations were all local and non touristy establishments which I appreciate and honestly expect nothing less from the locals. The Charm City pride is strong here and I love it.

A resident of Baltimore suggested this extraordinary museum located close to the Inner Harbor. I am so happy that I took her advice. This museum will inspire the artist in you. Beautiful sculptures, paintings, and mobiles that will take your breath away. There are two buildings. 3 floors in the main building and 2 in the other. Take your time to browse, there's a lot to see. Don't forget to stop in the gift shop. It is chock full of everything and very reasonable. You will love it. Your children will love it. Fun for the entire family.

Just one of the best! The creativity of the art here is amazing. Definitely a must see. Note:...there is no cafe on the premises or in the near vicinity unless you trek 6+ blocks to we think there is an area with some quick food options. There is a Rusty Scupper restaurant very close to the museum. On the water. Which is nice, but only if you want a relaxing meal and not a quick bite to eat. Also ... there is no museum parking lot, but there is a private parking lot near the Rusty Scupper restaurant and of course street parking ( which could be a bit challenging.for some).
Pam S — Google review
Great art museum! Fun exhibits with very cool artwork. I really enjoyed the sports section and the building has a fun layout with many cool quotes throughout. I would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys art museums and this is one of my friends’ absolute favorite museums in the US.

I absolutely loved the Good Sports exhibit they had during August. I did also miss a floor of the last building the first time I was there and that's where the permanent Matt Sesow collection is. I really liked that you could buy affordable original art. The gift shop is worth stopping by even if you don't want to see the museum. There's a lot of unique things there. If I lived closer I would have the membership. The pictures I added are from the Good Sports exhibit which is no longer there, but I really enjoyed George Sosnak's baseballs.

I'm disappointed in myself, having lived in Baltimore for 4 years and never discovering this place. Thank goodness my wife loves it and wanted to share it with me. What an incredible Museum! Go for the exhibitions, stay for the gift shop. Seriously! You must go here and check out all the exhibitions. Easily worth twice the price.

I love photographing at AVAM; the museum itself is quirky, beautiful, and full of character, never a blank canvas for wedding clients coming into this space for their wedding day. Plus, its location makes it easy to access nearby hotels or explore Federal Hill for greenery without traveling far, which makes for a ton of variety in a small space. Love it here!

This historic park is a popular spot for locals and tourists to relax and take in the city's iconic landmarks. Visitors can choose from two entry points, one with stairs and another without, making it accessible to all. The park features a play area and an old cannon, adding to its charm.
This park is one of the most beautiful part of Baltimore, a city which is very beautiful with an Innerharbor right in the middle. It's a bit of a climb to the top hill to reach the park. Views from this location is amazing. you can watch the whole city in one shot. Photographers will love this location as well. Children have a play ground at the top and families will be seen always. A very relaxing place. Kids should be careful on the slopes.

Beautiful park within the chaos of Downtown. Pet friendly. Good air. Park feels like it's actually on the hill. The view is fantastic, I've attached photos from the top of the park. The only downside is the washroom which wasn't available there. Recommended!

Nestled within the lush expanse of Patterson Park, The Observatory at Patterson Park is a stunning Victorian-style pagoda that dates back to 1891. Standing tall at 60 feet, this unique structure offers breathtaking views and serves as a charming reminder of Baltimore's rich history. Originally designed as an observation tower, it remains open to the public on Sundays, inviting visitors to experience its enchanting atmosphere.
Pretty cool looking building, worth a look, but it was freezing so I didn’t walk around the other side. Great view of the city from here, during winter. FYI…There is not easy wheelchair access on this side. You have to go to a different part of the park. Parking can also be difficult, but we luckily found a spot.

I had been seeing this building my entire life.....I never remember it being open for people to come inside. The stain glass windows and the view from the top is beautiful.

It closed for renovations when I went, but it's a cool place from the little bit I saw, so it's not a must-go destination for me anyway.

One of my favorite places in Baltimore! I call it a crown jewel. It's gorgeous in every season. We came here for our wedding photos, too!

Absolutely beautiful! I would have loved to tours of the inside, but it appears to be only open one or two days a week. If you are not going on a Saturday or Sunday, you will not be able to enter it. Otherwise, the view from outside and the Pagoda itself is absolutely gorgeous! A little Oasis in the middle of a city.
Danielle — Google review
I really enjoyed viewing the beautiful architecture of the pagoda. I didn’t have time to explore the rest of the park but the pagoda was more than enough. The cannon next to the pagoda was a great touch. Overall a great thing to visit. 5 stars.
Benjamin S — Google review
The park is expansive with trails that are pet and family friendly. This park offers space for large groups or individuals. Benches and pavillions are there as well as concrete padding near the pagoda. Features a lot of shade and various flora and trees to see as you walk the park. The park is walking distance from many metered parking lots or garages. The pagoda was not accessible on my visit, however, appeared as if it is often times open to the public on certain occasions based on items stored in the main lobby. Recommended as one area to visit during your time in Baltimore.

Cylburn Arboretum is a serene park with over 20 gardens, ancient trees, a nature museum, and a mansion from the Civil War era. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful trees and flowers for free and participate in various programs or classes for a small suggested donation. The arboretum spans 207 acres of scenic fall grounds with ornamental gardens, colorful tree collections, historic buildings, and wooded trails.
This is a wonderful place where kids can run around and learn at the same time. The staff and volunteers are incredibly kind, and they host amazing events. It’s a peaceful environment, and the recent renovations have made the space even more interactive for all ages. I visited today and discovered so many new things I hadn’t known before. It’s definitely a spot I’ll keep on my list whenever we’re looking for something engaging to do. It’s also a great place for spiritual reflection. Highly recommended!

I visited before the Gardens were planted and still had a lovely experience. Volunteers and employees were hard at work planting when I arrived. Definitely visit the Nature Center, staff there were great! They have Luna Moths and Grey Tree Frogs on display and the center is very well maintained. I only wish I could have visited on the weekend so I could tour the mansion. I will absolutely be back to see the gardens!

Beautiful arboretum in historical estate location is Baltimore’s largest public garden. Plenty of parking on mid-summer weekday and open nature center with friendly employees. The only miss was inability to tour Cylburn Mansion. There is a choice of paved paths or hiking trails and well-thought out arboretum layout to please an eye. Worthwhile detour from I-95 when passing through Baltimore, free admission was an added bonus.

We went for one of the open house tours in early April. The staff in the mansion and the nature education center were wonderful. They were very knowledgeable about the history of the grounds and the flora and fauna one can find there. Of note, we were immediately greeted by adorable northern mockingbirds at the entrance of the mansion and only continued to see birds and flowers from there. The trails were easy to walk in regular shoes or sandals. There are wheelchair ramps, automatic doors on the education center, and braille labels on the premises. The upper floors of the mansion were not open to the public for tours (on the day we were there).

Went with my girlfriend for our anniversary a few months back, this was one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen in Baltimore. We had an amazing time walking around just the entire area, the various places around are just visual soothing. Its beautiful. We had a picnic there and all and it was amazing. Props to the people who maintain this place its absolutely stunning!

I spent the day at Cylburn Arboretum for a work retreat, and what a beautiful surprise it turned out to be. The gardens are peaceful and full of quiet charm, every path feels like a small escape into nature. It’s the kind of place that reminds you to slow down, breathe, and notice the beauty around you. Truly a hidden gem in the city.

Baltimore Museum of Art – A Cultural Treasure Open Late Thursday! 🎨🌙 Visited the Baltimore Museum of Art on a Thursday evening, and what a treat! The museum stays open until 9pm (Thursday Only), making it the perfect spot for some post-work art immersion. ✨ Highlights of the Visit: From Rodin's iconic "The Thinker" to Monet’s dreamy brushwork, the collection spans continents, centuries, and galaxies of imagination. Loved the contrast between classic beauty and modern curiosity—you’ll wander from tranquil Buddhist sculptures to experimental abstract forms that challenge perception. The African and Indigenous art rooms are not to be missed—bold, spiritual, and incredibly powerful. 📸 Excellent photo ops throughout. Whether you're drawn to the quiet power of a bronze sculpture or the chaos of contemporary color, the Force is visually strong here. 🚗 Parking was super reasonable at just $9 after 5pm—a rare find for a museum of this caliber. Easy to access and well-marked. 🕘 Extended hours = quiet magic. The evening vibe is calm, uncrowded, and contemplative—ideal for art lovers and peace-seeking wanderers alike. With free admission to the main collection and plenty of space to roam, this place is a gem—whether you’re a casual visitor or a Force-sensitive art sage.

This place completely exceeded my expectations. I really had no idea what I was getting into, and the Baltimore Museum of Art turned out to be deceivingly massive. From the outside you’d never guess how much is packed inside. You could easily spend an entire day here and honestly, you should just to take everything in without rushing. They have this interactive section that’s actually fun (not one of those awkward “pretend to touch this screen” situations), and the historic art rooms are stunning. You walk in and it feels like you’ve stepped into another time. There’s a sculpture garden too I didn’t even make it that far because there was just so much to see plus entire areas dedicated to Mediterranean art, European pieces, and these beautifully curated exhibits that really pull you in. One thing I loved is how organized everything is. The museum feels intentional, thoughtful, and incredibly well put together. Even the flow from room to room makes sense, which is rare for a museum this big. Overall, it’s just an extraordinary place. If you’re anywhere near Baltimore, this is absolutely worth your time. I genuinely can’t recommend it enough it’s incredible.

A must-see in Baltimore! The Baltimore Museum of Art offers an impressive and thoughtfully curated collection. The Cone Collection is especially stunning — a true gem with extensive works by Matisse, Picasso, and Van Gogh. I also enjoyed seeing pieces by Georgia O’Keeffe, Monet, Klimt, Gauguin, Botticelli, Raphael, and Sir Joshua Reynolds. The galleries are spacious, peaceful, and well-lit, allowing you to take your time and really experience the art. The museum store is well-stocked with unique, themed gifts and books — perfect for thoughtful souvenirs. A top-notch experience, and free admission is a bonus!

I’ve visited the Baltimore Museum of Art a few times over the years and always enjoy the experience. I went recently to see the Amy Sherald: American Sublime exhibition, which is open until April 5, 2026. It’s a popular show with timed entry tickets ($18 + tax/fees for adults; free for members). I was able to find paid street parking right in front of the museum, and there’s also a dedicated paid lot. Check in at the front desk when you walk in, and the team will point you toward the exhibition. It’s up a few flights of stairs if you prefer to walk, and there’s an elevator route as well. The lobby currently features a colorful, quirky display of large-scale abstract figures covered in beads. Throughout the museum, there’s a wide mix of modern and classical works, and the layout flows nicely through different galleries and a central courtyard. It’s a beautiful building and very thoughtfully curated. Since my visit was focused on American Sublime, a few highlights: Once your ticket is scanned at the entrance, you’re immediately met with bold color, striking compositions, and larger-than-life portraits of African American subjects in distinctive attire. The standout pieces include the iconic portrait of former First Lady Michelle Obama and the moving tribute to Breonna Taylor. The short film about Amy Sherald at the end is absolutely worth watching for more insight into her process. Before you head out, the museum store is a great stop that is filled with art-inspired books, jewelry, and gifts. There’s also Gertrude’s restaurant and bar on-site if you want a bite or a drink before or after exploring the galleries. Note: there’s also a quiet room available for visitors if they need a space to nurse, pray or have a quiet moment.

The BMA has an attractive collection of paintings, statues and other beautiful pieces from around the globe. I really enjoyed seeing pieces by Monet, Degas, Rembrandt and Botticelli to name a few. Entry is free except for certain exhibitions and open until late on Thursday evening.

The BMA is a Baltimore and mid-Atlantic treasure! This museum- with its thoughtful, perceptive, and equitable representation healed all the art school BS I experienced in the late 90s. Free and open to the public, every exhibit that I have seen there has been moving, potent, and restorative. I will return again and again - and will be purchasing a membership. Can't celebrate the creative and community work they do at the BMA enough! Check it out!
Trella D — Google review
To pass some time for an event I was attending in the BMA, I sat in their East Lobby. I then noticed certain things (within that area) that caught my attention. Next to me on the bench was a bead-encrusted figurine. On parts of the ceiling, I saw brood X cicadas (they were encased in something). Hanging from the ceiling was a figure within a cocoon and it was in a multi-tiered chandelier. I later discovered it is part of an exhibit by artist Raúl de Nieves. I didn't catch everything in the lobby, so you'll have to check it out for yourself. The overall display is pretty neat and is there until December 2026.

Camden Yards is a must-visit attraction in Baltimore, offering an exciting experience for both leisure and business travelers. Located near downtown Baltimore, this iconic stadium hosts Orioles games and provides a fun-filled environment for families. Kids can enjoy the Orioles Kids Corner with interactive activities and kid-friendly snacks. The Kids Cheer Free initiative allows young fans to attend games at no cost, making it a popular choice for families.
Camden Yards is an amazing ballpark with a great atmosphere and beautiful views. I love the misting fans on hot days—they’re such a thoughtful way to help fans cool down and stay comfortable. It would be great if they could take a page from M&T Bank Stadium and offer more budget-friendly food options. Making affordable choices available would help more fans enjoy the game day experience without worrying about the cost. Overall, I love coming here and hope to see some more wallet-friendly options in the future!

One of the best ballparks in the country. Food and drink prices can be astronomical, but they did add some vendors with only $4 items which was nice. This includes refillable sodas, which was a big win for hot days.

We took my son to his first baseball game at the Camden Yards where we watched the Orioles and Athletics play. On Sundays, following the end of the game, they allow children to run the bases. My son had a blast. The stadium is incredibly nice and has a very lovely kids play area. The food was reasonable in price and decent in quality. Overall, I was incredibly impressed. They had a lot of technology to make purchasing items much easier, and there were plenty of staff to help accommodate the customers needs.

A great venture with outstanding staff! There is a plethora of food choices; prices are comparable to other major sporting facilities. Attended games there annually since the park opened in April 1992. Have had the pleasure of sitting in nearly every section, to include upper boxes and suites. There is not a bad seat in the house!

I had a great time at Camden Yards watching the Orioles take on the Texas Rangers. This stadium definitely lived up to the hype and delivered a really fun atmosphere from start to finish. One of my favorite parts of the experience was the Birdland Value Menu. It’s such a great feature and makes enjoying classic ballpark food much more affordable. You can grab $4 hot dogs, pretzels, and nachos, plus $5 Vizzy’s and more. It’s a smart and fan-friendly touch that I wish more stadiums offered. We also had a fantastic view from our seats, and the park itself had a great variety of unique food options. I’d definitely recommend trying the Local Fries, the Cheesie, and the Crab Cake Sandwich. All three were delicious and worth checking out. Overall, Camden Yards is a beautiful ballpark with a lively, welcoming atmosphere. I’d absolutely recommend it to any baseball fan.

Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine is a significant site that played a pivotal role in the War of 1812, inspiring the writing of 'The Star-Spangled Banner,' the U.S. national anthem. Visitors to Baltimore can immerse themselves in its rich history by exploring this iconic fort, along with other historical landmarks like Inner Harbor and Federal Hill Park. Additionally, they can savor freshly caught blue crabs seasoned with Old Bay seasoning for an authentic Baltimore experience.
This historic gem is NOT to be missed. When you arrive, wait for the short movie and be sure to watch. When the window coverings rise, the American flag appears and it is stunning. What a 10/10 presentation! The staff were very kind and helpful. For Patriotism, this is the place to indeed visit!

Our family of four had a great visit. We purchased tickets for the shrine, kids were free. Visitor Center has interactive exhibits and 20 min video thats worth staying until the end. Decent gift shop, no food or cafe to speak of. The grounds, views, restorations, rangers, history, and setting are all amazing.

Had an awesome experience learning about Fort McHenry and the buildup to the battle that inspired the Star Spangled Banner. Started off in the visitor center and watch the film and look at all the information panels. Going outside gives you amazing views of the bay, and exploring the fort is an awesome experience. Each building has information about the fort and it's history. I would absolutely come back and would recommend others do the same.
Andrew C — Google review
The NPS Rangers' lack of enthusiasm at this site prevents us from giving it a 5th star. You have to pay extra to walk out to the fort and take a self-guided tour. During our visit, the temperature was extremely high at around 98°F, which may explain the absence of reenactments or ranger-led tours; however, the rangers were still present at the site. The fort's rangers were just standing in the shade, maybe due to the heat. They could have been giving some kind of presentation or talk. We did not get a discount due to the heat, but the experience of being at the historical location was well worth the 4 stars.

Five stars across the board. Delicious food, creative cocktails, and fantastic service with an incredible view. The photos online do not do this place justice. Plating is gorgeous and the flavors are at a James Beard level. We came for a birthday, and they went above and beyond by seating us at a table with the best view in the house. Started with the octopus and the melon and ham, followed by the lamb and duck. Every dish was outstanding. For dessert we had the strawberry shortcake, and they surprised us with three scoops of vanilla ice cream that was to die for. Came in with average expectations, left completely blown away.

The food was good and the view is definitely a highlight, but the experience had a few challenges. The menu felt limited, and several items weren’t available. The menu had also changed without notice, which made choosing dishes a bit confusing. We also weren’t informed about a private event at 9 PM, even though my wife booked the reservation for my birthday, so the evening felt a little rushed. Our server was pleasant but not very proactive. Overall, a decent spot with great views and good food, but some communication and service improvements would make a big difference.

Pricey but delicious, and one of the best views in Baltimore! Sue was our server and she was excellent. Nice decor throughout. Random but I thought they could’ve had nicer-smelling soap in the bathrooms. Otherwise literally no complaints!

Topside is by far the most posh, eclectic restaurant I have experienced in a good while. It is situated in a hotel 🏨 which also screams "retro" updated to fit into the Baltimore City, Maryland flow of life. Once inside the "retro" hotel you will be guided to proceed down the hall to catch the elevator to the 3rd floor. Timid souls might turn back thinking they were being summoned to Hotel California; where as by the lyrics in the song say "beware because you can check-in, but never leave." Once on the elevator 🛗 and on your to where or who knows what?; you will rest easy when the elevator doors open up to a nice and breezy landing where the host/hostess welcomes you into the Topside Restaurant. You will feel instantly refreshed and relaxed as you enter into an exclusive area reserved for Topsides' clientele. Once the host/ hostess takes you to your seat which will either be 1 of many tables strategically planted directly against the outer walls of this jazzy restaurant. All tables, no matter where you are taken to be seated, will have a 360 degree view of the Baltimore city highlights of this area; which I have been told, in earlier days was called Park Place. The bar is situated in the complete center of the restaurant pushed back against the center back of the restaurant's seating area. Even while a patron of the bar, you will be privy to a 360 view of the beautiful Baltimire City skyline 🌇. No table or area in this restaurant is a "bad" seat per the Creme de la Creme design of this eclectic restaurant. The service provided by the highly trained wait staff is impeccable. All staff were very well informed of not only the menu offerings, but also the way each meal was prepared including what temperature is best preparation for your intended meal choice; to what ingredients are in the selected menu choice. The food comes out pipping HOT 🔥 and all selections from the Beet Salad which I selected for my appetizer were very artfully displayed on the plate. So much so that the food on the plate screamed, "Don't eat me," as if in some strange Alice In Wonderland food movie. I selected the Monday evening Burger selection, which comes with your choice of Beer. The burger selection looked and tasted like a +5 star selection at a stuffy upscale restaurant. But, with none of that feel of upscale nastiness and pompous attitude. Clearly the most interesting part of your whole experience will be the fact that you cannot believe the pure joy view you get from all seating areas in the wonderful environment you are seated in at this restaurant. I guess whoever choose Topside as the name of this restaurant was not kidding. And, if you are lucky enough to be seated when dusk falls on the city's landscape, you have another treat awaiting you as the night view at Topside Restaurant is like no other I have seen in Baltimore city. You will be more than impressed if you happen upon this eclectic restaurant where the staff is ready and engaged to please their clientele. Don 't miss visiting and dining at Topside. You will NOT be sorry you did!

We visited the restaurant for a birthday celebration, just my wife and I. The evening started well: the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was decent. I ordered the ribeye steak, while my wife went with the lamb. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. From the very first bite, my steak had an unusual taste. In hindsight, I should have stopped eating immediately, but I gave it a couple more bites before deciding not to continue. Less than two hours after getting home, I began experiencing intense stomach pain that lasted through the night and into the following evening. I was in and out of the bathroom constantly, and my wife concluded that I likely had food poisoning. She called the restaurant the next day and spoke with the manager. The manager was polite and expressed sympathy, but she also mentioned that food poisoning typically takes 10 to 12 hours to manifest, something that didn’t align with my experience. She then offered to invite us back for another visit, which, while well-intentioned, seemed out of touch given the circumstances. After an episode like that, the last thing I’d want is to return. My wife asked her to at least take a closer look at the kitchen and review the quality of the ingredients being used. Had the pain lasted any longer, I would’ve gone to the ER and reported the incident to the local health department. Thankfully, some OTC medication helped, and I recovered. But this was a deeply unpleasant experience that overshadowed what was supposed to be a special evening.

High atop The Revival hotel stands this gem of a restaurant. Magnificent views of the City of Baltimore draw your gaze in multiple directions at once while the staff gets you polished food and drink to delight the palate. We made a special side trip to revisit after staying at The Revival about a year ago and thoroughly enjoying ourselves and their offerings. Can't recommend this place highly enough. Perfect for a date night!

Topside, located at the top of Hotel Revival, is rolling out upscale drinks, elevated eats, and top-notch service. Enough with the puns but the sentiment is legit - Topside boasts some of the best views of the city and for good reason. Set 14 stories in the air, you have a great view of city and can see all the way to Natty Boh with everything in between. The food, drink, and service: Topside offers a good happy hour with a nice selection from PBRs to manhattans. The menu also has a nice selection from simple favorites - sliders and charcuterie to more extensive dishes like scallops, short ribs or salads. The wait staff was very attentive but not overly smothering. They allowed our rather large party to trickle in, get settled and enjoy our meal and even hurried up when we had to scoot for a showtime. To our delight, they even said goodbye by giving us a champagne toast to make the evening extra special. Thank you Topside! If you're in the area, definitely stop by - you wont be disappointed.

Canton Waterfront Park is a stunning oasis nestled along the Baltimore Harbor, offering an 8-acre retreat for those looking to unwind amidst nature. This picturesque park not only boasts breathtaking views of Fort McHenry and the Patapsco River but also serves as a vibrant community hub. Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls or jogs while taking in the sight of sailboats dancing on the water and experiencing lively events like WTMD's First Thursday concerts.
9/11/2024 I happen to end up here after eating breakfast in the area and it was so relaxing and peaceful. The weather was perfect and so was the scenery, the only issue I had was none of the bathrooms was open even though the workers said it was recently fixed and someone else had to come open them. There's plenty of parking and a boat ramp it's also a great place to do some jogging or just walking.

It cost just $3 to drive in. Went there to represent ONE MORE ONE LESS MENTORING INC & Zenith mental health and autism services at a fishing clinic with LABF ( LUCKY AND BLESSED FISHING) We had a fantastic day with special need families and other sponsors. It's a great place to ca.pout, cookout, fish, commune and just enjoy nature as you fish!!!

It's a beautiful place to picnic, with wide open spaces and tree cover. You can pick up the free Harbor Connector to get to Locust Point, or the "pay" water taxi. First Thursdays concerts take place here in the summer. There is also a boat ramp if u want to put your boat in and spend a day on the water.

I didn't walk too far from where the water taxis park, but it was nice to visit the waterfront on a bright sunny day. Some individuals were "discreetly" enjoying libations midday, but most of what I observed was families, children, and couples connecting, exploring, playing, walking, and bike-rolling. I will be sure to see more on my next visit to Canton Waterfront.

Canton Waterfront Park is one of my favorite spots in Baltimore! I usually come here for WTMD’s First Thursday concerts, and it’s always such a great experience. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, the views of the water are beautiful, and the live music makes it even better. It’s the perfect place to spend an evening with friends, grab some food from the vendors, and enjoy the energy of the crowd. Highly recommend checking it out, especially during the First Thursday events!

So much better than the waterfront..tourists area. Pasadena is so nice relaxing n quite calm. Picnic in grass or run in the park. Great area great experience. Went sailing and took the water taxi across river a free boat ride.

If not for the people who didn't take all of their belongings with them when they left, and the ice cream truck man who gives people whatever type of nuts he chooses for their sundae, it would have been a perfect day on the water. Oh! Restrooms could use better lighting and the mirrors need to be replaced because you can't see in them. Probably a coat of fresh paint and having someone clean them in the beginning of the day Saturday and Sunday and more trash cans. Is glad to see for the most part people are using them.

Perched on the 27th floor of the iconic World Trade Center, the Top of the World Observation Level offers visitors a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of Baltimore's vibrant cityscape and picturesque harbor. This stunning observation deck invites you to soak in sweeping views through its expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, making it an ideal spot for both locals and tourists alike. The venue is committed to providing a safe environment for all guests while showcasing Baltimore’s rich cultural diversity through its programming.
Very reasonable entry price and a nice view at the top. I went at night and it was definitely very peaceful not many guests which made it pretty nice. Most wouldn't consider Baltimore to have an iconic skyline but the views of the harbor can be appreciated.

If you’re looking for a spot that offers a new perspective on Baltimore, the Top of the World is definitely worth checking out. I recently visited the observation deck on the 27th floor of the Baltimore World Trade Center, and I was absolutely blown away by the views. The panoramic skyline of the city, paired with views of the Inner Harbor and even the Chesapeake Bay on a clear day, is truly a sight to behold. It’s one of those places where you can’t help but feel awestruck by how beautiful the city is from up high. Unfortunately when we visited most of things were under construction or renovations but still we enjoyed the view
Vishal M — Google review
Great views with informative displays throughout the 27th floor. Got a cool experience with a police helicopter fly by! Prices were very reasonable and if you have some extra time in your itinerary, I definitely recommend a visit.

It was an amazing experience taking the elevator ride up to the 27th floor of The World Trade Center Observation Deck Baltimore. The views were absolutely breathtaking and very beautiful. So sad that the 27th floor is closing at the end of the month, it's gonna be a loss for The Inner Harbor especially when they get to see the beautiful views from atop.

My first time in Baltimore! This place you need to visit! Breathtaking views! Nice personal. Also good place to hide from the heat! It won’t take much time to spend there but I was just sitting there and enjoying the view. Go on week days, it’s gone be less people there.

The Top of the World Observatory is not all that high up in the sky, which is why we've never paid to go up to the top. Our suggestion to get great views of the Inner Harbor is to grab drinks or dinner at Bygone instead. That establishment is located at the top of the Four Seasons hotel. It's higher in the sky, has amazing atmosphere, and gives a much better view of the Inner Harbor, in our opinion.

My family and I went to a toodler event at charmy and stumbled upon this. Great outdoor area, great beer and wine. The bartenders however were so unpleasant to the children. They were really nasty and I was so surprised they would have that energy with a kid friendly.

This area has several businesses collaborating together. There is something for everyone! You union brewery that serves awesome pizza! There wine place and spirits place which serves unique named beverages which they make themselves. The had gin flight which was great for the price! Definitely would go there again. The wine place serves food which you need to make reservations ahead of time since they're usually busy.

A great atmosphere with awesome beer and fun staff. The food is a little pricey but good. There is a huge variety of beer and ciders on tap, bottles, and cans. They also have a cute photo booth in the trailer that they have in the room. There is plenty of space and it wasn't too crowded. Would love to go back next time I'm around the Baltimore area.

This is a great place to have a few craft beers. The eatery doesn't have huge variety, but it is good food if small portions for the price. Inflation I guess. The National Aquarium is a must-visit landmark featuring captivating marine-life exhibits, an exciting dolphin show, and a thrilling shark tank. Visitors can also explore a walk-through rainforest for an immersive experience. Located near the World Trade Center, visitors are required to follow specific traffic patterns for safe entry and exit. Health measures such as wearing face coverings and completing screening questionnaires are in place. Additionally, one-way traffic flow and social distancing measures are enforced throughout the building.
Our family had a great time at the National Aquarium. There was a lot to do and see. They kept people moving in one direction which made it easy to navigate so you can see everything. The food was good, but it was a little dirty. The animals seemed like they were treated well and the areas were clean. The staff was very friendly and told us about different exhibits and what to look for. I would definitely recommend going here and look forward to our next trip.
Richard N — Google review
We went for the first time and we choose labor day to go. It actually wasn't that bad. We had no wait to get in. But some of the exhibits had a crowd before you could get to see it decently. We did not do any of the experiences or were we able to see the dolphins though we did try. They were being feed when we were there and we didn't wait long enough to see them. If you have anyone in your group that has mobility issues and needs to use elevators they do have them and they can fit wheelchairs plus a person or two. They are not near where the other entrance to the floor is for those that do not have mobility problems. I say this for those who have parties of mixed capabilities. There is one area that those who cannot do stairs can access and that is the birds area. There is a way for wheelchairs to go through the area but there is 2 platforms that you can't get to. The aquarium was nice and the employees we came across were all friendly. The are some rather large attractions and lots of smaller ones just like any other aquarium or zoo. They have an area with horseshoe crabs and jellyfish that you can touch the animals. We were hoping that there was an area you can feed manta rays of something like it but they did not. We got to see how they clean some of the tanks and some of the divers that we found out that all the divers are volunteers. The guy made a joke saying that they work for free bottled air. Some of the tanks look difficult to clean so I don't envy them. They some frogs and birds and some other animals. I was not expecting to see any other animals but I thought it was cool. There are some really good views of the harbor as well. They have a spot that you can sit and rest while looking at the harbor. All in all we will probably go back and definitely recommend.
Christopher P — Google review
It was nice... I have been to aquariums with more variety... this one seems almost local species. A few empty habitats... the Jellyfish invasion is not impressive if you have seen them in other aquariums... some tanks looked like they were sick... dolphin shows are no more but you can sit and watch them... they mostly hung out in the back though, until the helpers came out to feed. That was cool. I agree with the stopping the shows and loved seeing them play. The rainforest was okay too... a couple of birds here an there... mostly just plant life with a cool water fall. Escalator was broke on one floor of the 4 floor exhibit. I think they have an elevator, they were not to informative about it though. We never looked into the Australian terrarium... chose to leave and do other things.

Had a mommy son day and it was just what was needed! Everything was clean and in order, not too many people on a school day so it was nice. Not too many lines, the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. My 8 year old stated it was his best day in forever ❤️ Thanks! I bought the membership and its already paid off but I can see him having us there a LOT!

The design of this aquarium is very unique. I have visited many aquariums across the country. Like the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, the Long Beach Aquarium in CA, and the Mall of America’s Aquarium. We went on a Sunday so it was super busy but getting our tickets online was a smart move. The layout of this aquarium is pretty unique and it can be actually quite confusing. Thankfully we had a friend who has been to this one multiple times and knew his way around. I do like the open design to the main attraction and the escalators to next level. That was very unusual to see. There was one escalator that was out of service but they had the service door for the stair propped open and someone standing there to help guide. Also another interesting thing was the rotating doors. I have never seen them being used inside of a facility. It was kind of annoying as only one person could go through it at a time. The best thing was all the aquatic creatures that they have. Those were a joy to watch and we got to talk to a knowledgeable guide that was showing off a turtle skull. She was fun to talk with and knew her stuff about the animals in the aquarium. I would go back for sure.

The aquarium closes fairly early, so I didnt have quite enough time to get through the entire place. It was beautiful. It was well laid out. The dolphin training was a surprise to see, but it was so cool to see.

I love this aquarium, it takes about 2-3 hours to see everything without rushing. They have touch tanks that are fun for everyone and a lot of awesome exhibits. There are places to get food and drinks which is nice as well. Parking is decent and right in front of the aquarium. I normally go on the weekends and the crowds are not too bad.

The Walters Art Museum is a historic gallery in Baltimore, known for its diverse collection of paintings and artifacts spanning from ancient times to the present. Once considered a blue-collar town with a gritty reputation, Baltimore has undergone a transformation into a vibrant cultural hub. The city now offers contemporary museums, sophisticated dining options, and a reimagined Inner Harbor that attracts art enthusiasts, outdoor lovers, and history buffs.
The Walters Art Museum is truly a hidden gem in Baltimore and an incredible place to explore the art and culture of different countries, especially from the golden ages. From ancient artifacts to beautifully preserved works from Asia, Europe, and Africa, every gallery offers a unique journey through time and across civilizations. We visited on a weekend and were pleasantly surprised by how quiet and peaceful it was—no crowds, just a calm environment perfect for enjoying the art. One of the best parts is that admission is completely free, and you can enter multiple times in a day, making it easy to take breaks and return at your own pace. The museum also has a charming café and a well-curated gift shop to enhance the overall experience. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Baltimore, this is a must-visit destination to immerse yourself in global art and history. Highly recommended for all ages!

This is a truly wonderful museum. A true gem of Baltimore. The collection is very large and varied art and artifacts from all parts of the world and including European and American pieces and eastern art as well. The displays are very professional and accessible and the staff always very friendly. And, it’s FREE! I have found that parking in the general area is easy to find and not expensive. If you find yourself in Baltimore make time to visit this beautiful museum.

One of the best museums I've ever been to. It starts from the very entrance: they have that beautiful idea with the cards to make your own tour around the museum. Moreover, wherever you go, you see a lot of materials next to the exhibits which give you plenty of ideas and information for a deeper insight. I loved it! And of course, their collection is just overwhelming! There are so many exhibits and all of them are well displayed in intelligently organized spaces. It's the only museum I didn't go to its cafe. There was no time for it. I wanted to squeeze as much as I could from every minute of my being there. Highly recommended to all art-lovers!
Aleksei K — Google review
It's a gorgeous museum with great art pieces. They have a cool medieval like staircase too. My boyfriend and I got through the museum within abt 2-3 hours, but that's because we skimmed through mostly and stopped to look at and read about the pieces we found most captivating. If you're the type to stop and look at every piece, plan for more time. 😉 I also saw a woman with a wheelchair making her way around the museum so I assume it's atleast somewhat accessible. And it's all free!
Anastasia — Google review
The Walters Art Museum is an exceptional center for those who love art, particularly art that spans across thousands of years. I would recommend to start from the upper floor (4th floor) and work one's way down. The fourth floor houses the collection of East Asian items from China, Japan, India, and the Middle East. The collection spans thousands of years of eastern art, and includes manuscripts, ceramics, burial treasures, and many other items. The third floor contains the prized medieval collection which is one of the greatest collections of medieval art in the United States. There are sections that indicate Early Byzantine, Early Medieval, and Gothic eras. There is also an exhibit dedicated to how cats are represented in manuscripts. There is also a representation of a venetian home from the late medieval era, showcasing a merchant's collection that they could accumulate. The third floor also consists of Renaissance and Baroque art. These are mostly from Italy, and have sections for each century of Italian art. The second floor is dedicated to the ancient world as well as armor and collection displays. the ancient section includes art from Ancient Egypt, the Ancient Near East, Ancient Greece, and Ancient Rome. All are detailed and give one an idea of the living and dying rituals of the past. The armor collection is a nice touch, having armor mostly from Germany from the Renaissance that is highly decorative. There is a collector's room that details how a person from the 17th Century would house their collections. There is also a wonder room that showcases how one would collect items in the Early Modern Era. There is also a representation of a Dutch home filled with Dutch art primarily from the 17th Century. The first floor houses the temporary exhibit. This year, the exhibit details the mummification practices of various animals. The museum shop also has a variety of prints, mugs, stickers, books pertaining to their collection, journals, and jewelry that reflects the items in their collection. In terms of accessibility, there are elevators and even wheelchair lifts in spots so that everyone can see their entire collection. There is no fee to get in as of 2025, but you do have to pay around twenty dollars for parking across the street from the entrance. Overall, this is a must see if you are in the Baltimore area, and be sure to donate as they rely on donations to keep the place running for free for all visitors.

Historic Ships in Baltimore is a fascinating maritime museum that offers a unique glimpse into Maryland's rich history. Visitors can explore four significant ships, including the Sloop-of-War Constellation, Submarine Torsk, Coast Guard Cutter Taney, and Lightship 116 Chesapeake. The museum provides an immersive experience with hands-on learning opportunities and an audio tour for added enjoyment. This attraction showcases Baltimore's maritime heritage and American naval power through its docked vessels and restored lighthouse.
Went on all 4 ships in one day, but you can do them over multiple days if you wish. I was wearing a long skirt which was a mistake because there are a lot of ladders and steps, many which you have to go down backwards. Some ships do not allow heels either so dress appropriately. Friendly employees on all the ships and they weren't busy so we could take our time reading all the signs without being in anyone's way. Definitely recommend this self tour if you're in Baltimore!

The ships are beautifully preserved and offer a unique glimpse into history. Definitely worth a visit for history enthusiasts and families alike!

Ships were neat to see and walk around inside. The USS Constellation was my favorite you can walk all through it. They have a cutter that was in the battle for Pearl Harbor which was awesome to see. The submarine was neat to walk through but watch your head! Would be neat to see more people in and around the ships to point out some neat things you might not usually see.
Paul T — Google review
Our grandson loves ships and planes so we took him to Baltimore's Inner Harbour on Sat July 26, 2025. . We hit the science center and then toured the ships at the Harbour. Each ticket consisted of 4 ships to tour. Adult price was $22 each. Children 5 and under are free... I told the the guy at the counter we need two adult tickets and our grandson is 5. Before the guy could even push a button.... our grandson was like " no, I'm 6 pop". OK lol I guess he's 6 now. Lmfao. So, since I didn't save $10 lol our total was about $53. The tickets are for your own self guided tour of 4 ships. Unfortunately, we only did 3 of them. The Constellation, the Chesapeake Lightship and the U.S.S Tursk Submarine. The ships were really cool to see. Our grandson loved it! The Constellation has very narrow floors. Im 6'3 and literally had to walk through it with more than my head down. It's nice to see what things looked like on the boat. The beds , the cabins, the kitchen area and so forth. Some tiny rooms had 5 beds in it!! Im not sure that 5 normal people could even stand in the room at once. Im tall and slim and in no way, could I could have survived. I guess most guys back then were small lol. The Submarine was really interesting. Please be aware, if your over 6'5 , over 200 lbs or over 60 years old this may not be for you. It is small to maneuver through and requires some good hand - eye coordination and some good bones lol. The Chesapeake Lightship was the only one that seemed to have room to walk through. However, all of them had some small steep steps. Please be careful not to hit your head. From the top of the ships you are presented with some nice views. We didnt encounter many other people there. Maybe a few but not many. It was over 95 degrees the day we went so there wasnt a ton of people outside like us lol. The tickets last all day I believe. You can take pictures, read all the information boards, move slow and take your time if you can. Im rating the historic ships of Baltimore tours a 5 out of 5 stars. It was worth the money... especially if your able to tour all 4 ships.
Larry H — Google review
This is a very well priced deal. 4 vessels for like $22. You get to see a submarine also, which has very tight doorways just as a heads up. There's 2 gift shops, but the one at the USS Constellation is much better.
Dennis L — Google review
Probably the most unique and the best-value-for-money attraction in Baltimore. For an entry fee of 22 dollars you can visit 4 different warships at your time of convenience. The order of ships staring from the best in my opinion are: USS Torsk (submarine), USS Constellation (a sail-only warship), U.S Coast Guard Cutter (USCGC) 37, and LS-116 Chesapeake (a lightship). Visiting a submarine's interior would be a first experience for many. USS Constellation with all its majestic cannons was a great feast to the eyes. USS Constellation still does a demo of firing a cannon - of course, it is done without a projectile. We took 3 days, in between visiting other attractions, to visit all 4 ships. Their flexible entry rules also makes it interesting when you visit each ship, and also keeps sensory overload and fatigue at bay (no pun intended?).
Praghalathan K — Google review
No wait and had most of the ship to myself. Was able to spend time reading all the stories. Ship was in excellent shape, restrooms were clean and a good giftshop. They have a pass for 25 bucks to see 4 ships in the bay, I highly reccomend doing that it was a great value.
K W — Google review
This was beyond fantastic. It was so historically interesting. The guides on each ship were very friendly and happy to answer any questions we had. We didn't have time to hit all four ships, but what's awesome is that we have up to a year to go back and catch what we didn't see. It is a bit of a hike, so wear comfy walking shoes. But its totally worth every step!

The Baltimore Water Taxi offers a unique and enjoyable way to explore the city's attractions. It serves as a convenient mode of transportation, running different routes through the harbor like a bus service. With over 40 years of history, it is popular among both tourists and locals. Additionally, the water taxi can be chartered for private events, offering customized routes and the flexibility to bring your own food and drinks.
We took a charted water taxi around the inner harbor on a tour and it was so well done. They showed us the sights but also gave a small lecture on the history of it and why it was important to the history of the City. Another day we took the "normal" water taxi to travel around the inner harbor. It worked great. the signs were a bit confusing but the staff on board was super helpful.

Great crew but the canned narration was somewhat annoying. Pricey (about $1 per minute) for how short the rides were and only $1 for the senior discount. The views were nice but it's not New York or San Francisco

The Baltimore Water Taxi offers a comfortable and efficient way to travel around the Inner Harbor, combining scenic views with quick access to key waterfront destinations (like Fell's Point, a must go). The boats are clean, well-maintained, and provide a relaxing alternative to city traffic. The service runs smoothly and on time, making it ideal for both tourists and locals. A special mention goes to Roman, whose friendliness and professionalism make the ride even more enjoyable — his courtesy truly enhances the experience.

Sunset harbor cruise was fantastic! Great deal at $20. They took us out past Fort McHenry, then turned around to Inner Harbor, and back to Fells Point. My wife and I had a blast. There were 3 other couples besides us on a Sunday, chill vibes, cool tunes, great views! We were running a bit late and luckily they started about 10 mins late as well. We were able to buy our tickets on board from the friendly staff member.

If you have half a weekend day to cruise around to the stops, I'd recommend seeing the city this way. Safe, fun and informative (make sure to sit in front of the speakers for the history), this was a fun way to get out and get an overview of the city.

We used the water taxi’s private charter service to provide our out-of-town wedding guests with a welcome event. They were extremely easy to communicate with, very flexible about (reasonable) requests, and helpful with my grandmother who is an (ambulatory) wheelchair user. We also found the pricing very transparent and reasonable for the quality of service. We used the Key’s Anthem boat and ended up with a final count of 33 passengers. It was very comfortable, not too crowded and not too sparse. They were able to provide a folding table for us to put appetizer trays on. We provided our guests with canned beer from a cooler we brought on board as well as champagne which we used ordinary bottles and disposable flutes for. Both offerings were easy to display for the guests with the boat’s setup and convenient for guests to enjoy without being too burdened by the “boat” of it all. They also handle your trash for you! Our cruise was beautiful, we made no specific requests about what we wanted to see but they did welcome requests. We also had bluetooth access to play some music from our phone on the boat’s speakers. I hope this is helpful to anyone considering an event with the water taxi! We truly can’t recommend it enough.

I chartered a private water taxi for an activity during my company's retreat. We worked directly with Stacy at Baltimore Water Taxi and she made it super easy! She gave recommendations as to where we should begin and end our ride based on ease of travel to each location. She also gave a recommendation to work with Chris at Baltimore Rent-a-tour for a guided tour on the boat, which was fantastic. My team had a great time on the boat, the crew was professional and helpful and made it fun and easy. 10/10 recommend!

The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, also known as The Maryland Zoo, is a 135-acre park located in Druid Hill Park. Established in 1876, it is the third oldest zoo in the United States and houses over 1,500 birds, mammals, amphibians, and reptiles. The zoo's mission is to inspire and educate people about wildlife conservation.
We did a Girl Scout overnight here and it was a phenomenal program. Eli, Laura & Natalie are incredible program leaders that kept our girls engaged and they were so kind and knowledgeable. The overnight was 1000% worth it. The zoo the next day was amazing and the girls shared what they learned with other people seeing the animals so they retained the info given. The zoo itself is well staffed during the day, clean, and the animals are visible. The walk up to the zoo is nice but you can also take the shuttle. The carousel and the train ride are free. Giraffe feeding is under $10 and worth it. We have previously been to breakfast with a penguins which I also highly recommend. Overall this is a must visit spot and the extra programming is worth it.

A small but really nice zoo. The old (no longer used) exhibits up front are a cool piece of history. Some areas need updating but the newer exhibits are clearly well thought out & spacious. The penguin area was especially nice. If only it had been a bit cooler for our visit! (See our prairie dog photo for a good example of the heat.)

We love this Zoo! I’ve been going since I was a child and now sharing the zoo with my kids brings back so many memories. I love the “walk through the zoo’s past” to see the small cages they once were held to compare to the large habitats that have been created. Free parking is a plus. Food is a bit expensive but they offer gluten free options which was a nice surprise. Looking forward to another trip in November, they offer free field trips to homeschoolers which we are finally taking advantage of. Great way to spend the day outdoors learning about the animals and observing them.
Tabitha T — Google review
To begin with, there is a long walk from the gate to see the animals. There seemed to be a lot of construction and renovation happening to the exhibits. Due to this, there seemed to be quite a few animals off exhibit. Most habitats only had 1 or 2 animals in them. The zoo was clean and fun, just not sure it's worth visiting again.
Zach A — Google review
I legitimately love this zoo. I have only come here a few times in my life and the previous time I was here was years ago but honestly I had a lot of fun this time around. They have so many interesting animals, historical architecture, a pretty nice train ride and even some really well themed sections. It’s very clear they’re going out of their way to modernize and do what’s best for these animals. I did see One elephant that looked like he wasn’t doing so well but The zoo is probably still doing what they can to take care of the poor creature. I wholeheartedly recommend checking out this zoo even if the area around the park doesn’t look particularly the safest. Then again that’s the case with a lot of good zoos. I will definitely come again.
Willku9000 — Google review
We come to this zoo most years and always enjoy ourselves. This year had some extra exhibits closed for maintenance and new ones in the works but we still have a good time anyways. The pending we're very active this year, and we saw the baby giraffe which was nice too. The polar bears have bears have been missing for a few years so that is the most disappointing, but otherwise worth a trip.
Joe B — Google review
The only issue is they need more animals, other than that this is the cleanest zoo I have ever been too ! The food was fresh and delicious, the rides and outside activities were up and active, face painting, toy riding, penguin shows , all kinds of great stuff that not only kids would enjoy but so would adults. I had a bawl and would be back for sure. Also you can purchase your tickets in person & use them for your next visit 😉
Aisha C — Google review
My family had a wonderful time at the zoo! We got to see some wonderful animals that aren't in zoos around our area. Admission was a bit pricey but snacks and drinks weren't too badly priced. We did stop at Oasis Food and Drink by the giraffes and elephants for snacks and drinks. They were out of a lot of stuff or things weren't working. The guy that was running the register was doing everything while a guy stood to the back and only messed with putting pretzels in the cooker. Overall a wonderful day seeing animals and learning about them!

Diner
The PaperMoon Diner is a quirky and colorful 1950s-style eatery located in Remington, Baltimore. The exterior is adorned with an eclectic collection of mannequins, setting the stage for the whimsical interior filled with thousands of Pez dispensers, Barbie dolls, and other pop culture memorabilia. This long-standing favorite breakfast spot offers a diverse menu featuring traditional American classics such as burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs, and vegetarian options.
The food is absolutely delicious, servings are generous, and it was presented in a way that made it even look delicious. The Southern Love burger was almost more than I could eat because we also got the triple appetizer. My friend got a cheese quesadilla, and she said it was delicious. We both thought the fries were amazing. Milkshakes were also great! We both took home leftovers. The staff are wonderful and they all work together to give excellent service.

Papermoon Diner is one of the most unique spots in Baltimore. The outside is wild and colorful, and the inside is packed with toys, dolls, action figures, and over-the-top decor that makes it feel like an art installation-meets-retro diner. I had the Whole Lotta Burger and sweet potato fries, both were delicious. The burger was juicy and cooked perfectly, and the fries were crispy on the outside and soft inside. Plenty of parking across the street, great service, and just an all-around fun, funky place to grab a bite. Definitely worth a visit if you want good food in a totally unforgettable setting!

This was such a fun and unique experience! The decor on the walls and ceiling was never ending with Pez dispensers, mannequins, dolls, antiques, and more! The staff was very friendly and helpful in terms of helping me decide what I chose to eat bc I wanted everything! The menu is breakfast and lunch. There is parking across the street and it wasnt too busy when we got there but they definitely weren't slow! I cant wait to bring my friends and go back!

Such a fun and unique spot. It feels like eating inside a toy museum! Everywhere you look there’s something quirky and nostalgic to see. We loved exploring all the curated toy exhibits while we waited for our food. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious — fresh, flavorful, and just as memorable as the atmosphere. Definitely a must-visit if you love great food with a side of creativity and nostalgia! 🍳🧸✨

Went Sunday morning during brunch hours. Waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Cute little 2 person table snuggled in all the colorful and bright decor throughout the entire restaurant. Forgot to take pictures but we ordered the egg which, shrimp omlette, and grits-! Super cheesy delicious grits. Honestly I will order the entre next time! The omelete was more like eggs and shrimp plated together. The coffee was mediocre. It's a cute little spot for brunch

This is such a unique diner and I highly recommend. The atmosphere is artsy and fun. The food is super good and the staff is friendly. The decor can be a bit creepy for children (just know your child) but it’s got a lot of artistic pieces and concepts that are pretty cool!

The inside is a lot of fun to look at if it isn't crowded. The day I went half of the place was closed off but still a lot to look at. Our server was polite enough. They recommended a sandwich which I ordered & enjoyed. The food was tasty but expensive for what was offered.

Visited Paper Moon yesterday after plant shopping with some coworkers. I ordered Angus Burger Club & one of my coworkers ordered their shrimp wrap. Both were absolutely delicious! This eclectic place is jammed pack with figurines, signs & memorabilia that will keep your eye wandering the entire time yet it's so clean, neat & organized! I will be back! I heard their breakfast is good as well!

Perched atop the Four Seasons hotel in Baltimore's Harbor East, The Bygone offers breathtaking views of the Inner Harbor and city skyline. This rooftop restaurant exudes a blend of 1920s glamour and contemporary charm, creating an enchanting ambiance for diners. Whether sipping on expertly crafted cocktails at the bar or indulging in a sit-down dinner, guests are treated to a dining experience that pays homage to classic American cuisine while incorporating locally sourced ingredients.
First I'm not sure where else you can go to get this view of downtown. I'd profess the 13th floor.... But I'm dating myself, knowing that place is long gone! You will need to come out your pockets to dine here, but it's worth it. The drinks are incredible. Service was impeccable. The menu does switch around. We had the shrimp cocktail, squash florets, prime rib, & pork loin. All highly recommended

We loved the amazing views! We were here celebrating a birthday, and the staff surprised us with a complimentary ice cream sundae — such a thoughtful treat. If it’s your first time visiting, one thing to keep in mind is that the meal presentation and menu items can change frequently. What we saw in recent reviews didn’t quite match what was on the actual menu, so it’s best to stay open-minded. Also, if you have food allergies, I’d recommend calling ahead to confirm what options are available for you. While most of our selections were fantastic, we felt the steak could’ve used more seasoning — we didn’t end up finishing it. Everything else we ordered was delicious, and the drinks were excellent. In terms of pricing, although many reviews mention a budget of $50–$100 per person, we found it more realistic to plan for at least $150 per person.Valet parking options are available. If you are able to walk or take an uber. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and definitely worth visiting!

I’ve been to The Bygone twice now—once for brunch and once for dinner—and both times were outstanding. The brunch buffet was fresh, flavorful, and felt elevated, not just “standard.” Dinner was just as impressive with beautifully plated dishes and attentive service. And the view? Absolutely stunning—especially at night when the city lights sparkle over the water. This place is more than a meal; it’s an experience. I’ll definitely be back.

We stopped for a drink before dinner so that we could enjoy the views from the 29th floor at sunset. It did not disappoint. Beautiful views, great drinks, classy decor and great service. Highly recommended!

The Bygone is well-known for its stunning view overlooking Federal Hill and the Patapsco River — and it definitely lives up to the hype. Since we were staying at the Four Seasons for a few nights, we had to check it out. It’s located on the top floor of the hotel. To get there, enter the main lobby, take a right to the elevators, and check in with the staff (sometimes there’s a short wait). They’ll escort you up. There’s a dress code here — formal attire only. Men must wear a collared shirt and sports coat. No T-shirts, athletic wear, or hats allowed. We visited a few times during our stay and really enjoyed the overall experience. The bar staff is attentive and quick to take your drink order. Each cocktail is handcrafted and solid, though none really stood out as exceptional. We mostly went for the view (and the convenience of being at the hotel). We did order food on one visit — the mac & cheese was delicious, creamy, and had nice notes of herbs and pepper. My husband got the crab dip as an appetizer, which he really enjoyed as well. I highly recommend making a reservation, especially on weekends. It gets busy fast — when we arrived early on Friday evening, we were the first ones there, but by 8 PM the place was packed. My favorite part is the upstairs area, where they usually host the DJ. It feels more intimate and relaxed, and you can always head downstairs afterward to take in the view. I’m giving four stars instead of five because two out of our three visits, my card was charged twice by mistake. It felt a bit inconsistent and unprofessional for such an upscale spot. I understand things can get hectic when it’s crowded, but I do think they could be a bit more organized given the high-end presentation. Overall, The Bygone is definitely worth visiting — for the views, the atmosphere, and the convenience if you’re staying at the Four Seasons. Just keep an eye on your tab!

🚨 THIS REVIEW IS ONLY FOR THE BAR AREA 🚨 We visited The Bygone on the 29th floor of the Four Seasons Baltimore and it absolutely delivered on everything you’d want from a rooftop bar experience. From the moment we walked into the lobby downstairs, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive—setting the vibe right away. Even on a Thursday night, the bar wasn’t overcrowded at all, which was honestly perfect. It felt like we could actually relax and soak it all in without fighting for space or service. Once upstairs, the views over the Inner Harbor were stunning. They have two gorgeous indoor decks with floor-to-ceiling windows plus an outdoor terrace where you can actually take your drink outside and get those panoramic views. The decor is honestly one of my favorite things about this spot. It’s got this classic, art deco-inspired look—lots of polished wood, tufted leather, rich velvet, and beautiful lighting. It feels upscale and timeless without being stuffy. The bar team was great too. Our bartender was super knowledgeable and friendly, offering suggestions and chatting with us while making the drinks. Service was quick even though it was busy enough to feel lively. The cocktails themselves were solid—very well balanced and tasty. They average around $20 each, which for Baltimore might be considered a bit on the higher side, but for a rooftop in a luxury hotel with those views and that vibe? Totally worth it. It’s the kind of place that really feels special—a fantastic date night spot or a place to celebrate something. Overall, we loved the experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to elevate their night out in Baltimore. 5 out of 5 stars from us—The Bygone is one of the best rooftop bar experiences in the city, hands down.

The lighthouse offers public access during the day and can also be reserved for private events.
$1 cash to visit the lighthouse. We paid the woman that was inside the lighthouse at the counter and then walked around inside. Great views inside of the lighthouse looking outside at the harbor, federal hill park, etc. Stairs to go up to the lighthouse is very sturdy and I felt safe. They have information in the light house about its history, what they used in it, tools, bed, past lighthouse keepers, etc. I had e-mail correspondence with Dayna and she was very helpful with pricing and hours of operation for the lighthouse since the hours for it really depend on staffing each day.

It doesn't get a lot of foot traffic because of its obscure location but is definitely worth a visit. The view from here is quite nice that someone during our visit chose it to propose to his girlfriend (it appeared that she said yes). There is a small museum inside that tells the story of the lighthouse and how it was moved to its current location after it stopped operating. Admission is free. Come visit if you have at least half an hour to spare.

Mount Vernon Place, located in Baltimore's cultural hub, is centered around the iconic Washington Monument. Visitors can ascend the 227 marble steps for a breathtaking panoramic view of the elegant 19th and 20th-century rowhomes showcasing Beaux Arts, Greek Revival, and Italianate architectural styles.
Quaint, historic and charming square that takes you back in time. They host free events sponsored by the Mount Vernon Conservancy. Museums around the square offer free admissions.
Asya A — Google review
In the heart of Baltimore, past the harbor's tourist crush and beyond downtown's office towers, Mount Vernon Place unfolds like a European piazza that somehow landed in Maryland. Here, America's first monument to George Washington rises 178 feet above four elegantly designed park squares, where locals stretch out on stone fountain edges on sunny afternoons and readers find quiet moments among magenta roses. On a recent spring morning, the squares hummed with the gentle rhythm of urban leisure. A woman with a colorful tote bag read beneath climbing roses while two older gentlemen had positioned folding chairs beneath century-old trees, engaged in conversation that seemed as unhurried as the clouds passing overhead. Unlike the carefully scheduled tourist sites of the Inner Harbor, Mount Vernon Place invites lingering. "What makes this place special is how it's both a monument and a living room," said a local artist sketching the classical buildings that frame the squares. "People actually use it." The district's stately buildings reveal Baltimore's 19th-century prosperity. When the Washington Monument's cornerstone was laid on July 4, 1815 (predating its more famous Washington D.C. counterpart by 33 years), it stood atop land donated from Revolutionary War hero John Eager Howard's estate. Baltimore's wealthiest families soon constructed elegant townhouses with marble steps and ornate cornices along the perimeter. These grand structures now house cultural institutions like the Walters Art Museum and the Peabody Institute. For visitors willing to tackle 227 stairs, climbing the Washington Monument offers panoramic views for just $6. The reward is a bird's-eye perspective of architect Robert Mills' masterful urban planning – the Greek cross layout of the four squares radiating from the monument's base, a design that feels remarkably contemporary despite its 19th-century origins. Mount Vernon Place doesn't shy from its complex history. Until 2017, a statue of Supreme Court Chief Justice Roger B. Taney, who authored the infamous Dred Scott decision, stood in the north square. Its removal during an overnight operation following the Charlottesville violence represents how public spaces evolve alongside cultural values. Today, only the empty pedestal remains, a silent counterpoint to the district's otherwise intact historical landscape. The neighborhood's seasonal rhythms offer different experiences throughout the year. Summer brings free outdoor concerts and yoga classes organized by the Mount Vernon Place Conservancy. December transforms the area with the annual Monument Lighting, a Baltimore tradition since 1971 that bathes the Washington Column in holiday illumination accompanied by fireworks and a festival atmosphere. Spring's Flower Mart has operated since 1911, famous for its curious "lemon stick" treat – a peppermint stick inserted into a halved lemon. Local wisdom suggests visiting midweek to experience Mount Vernon Place at its most authentic. The Walters Art Museum (free admission) provides a climate-controlled respite on Baltimore's humid days, while the breathtaking George Peabody Library houses one of America's most photogenic book collections. For refreshments, try Dooby's for Korean-inspired fare or Mount Vernon Marketplace for diverse culinary options. As dusk falls and the Washington Monument glows against the darkening sky, visitors and locals alike gather on the squares' benches. In this moment, Mount Vernon Place achieves something remarkable – a public space that simultaneously honors history while remaining vitally alive in the present.

2017April, 2022 May, 2023Dec. I’ve seen this spot twice and done. Now my thought(before I went to see these houses) was that it was just some row houses of an era in Baltimores timeless, significant architectural beauty that were meticulously restored, adorned with vibrant colors and intricate detailing. Some of these row houses did have vibrate paint, the rest needs some assistance. I like the fact that someone took the time to paint the houses with vibrant colors. More details and keep up on the cleanliness. Baltimore can be much more beautiful. It is “Charm City” a charming city. Keep at it B.More.

Specialty Museums
The B&O Railroad Museum, a National Historic Landmark, is a significant site in U.S. railroad history. It showcases nearly 200 locomotives and features a model train display as well as offering train rides. The museum originated from the planning of the first commercial long-distance train track in the United States by Baltimore businessmen and engineers in 1829.
A really cool museum. The trains are beautifully restored and full of history. Highly recommend. They have an area for kids to play with wooden trains, books and blocks. The mile train ride was also great. Ice cream on board! The only drawback was it was really hot in the summer so if heat is a factor there is not many air conditioned areas. But we had a great time!

We had a great experience. My son loved all the trains they have there. Super well maintained. Super clean and super organized. Staff was amazing. We went on the 30 min train ride and it was amazing. There is a café with delicious options and a gift store with lots of good a good stuff with great prices. The museum has free parking for the visitors . We had a great time there.

This museum has an amazing array of trains. They were displayed well in an organized logical fashion in the beautiful round house. There was a very interesting variety of trains outside in the yard and in the maintenance building. The explanations were concise and comprehensive. It was fun to be able to go into some of the trains. The model train sets, history of the underground, and play areas for kids make this an amazing display of the history of trains. I very highly recommend this museum for anyone, train buff or not.

Guinness Open Gate Brewery is a modern complex located just outside of Baltimore, featuring a taproom, biergarten, restaurant, guided tours, and a brand store. This brewery marks Guinness's first U.S. brewery in over 60 years and offers experimental beers brewed on-site in Maryland. The facility also features collaborations with CaNe collective to create unique beverages like the Beer-mosa and Blonde Michelada.
We did the history and tasting tour. It was very well done and informative. Our guide, Pip, was awesome. Made the tour fun, and they were very personable and knowledgeable. We then enjoyed dinner at the Taproom, which had delicious food and attentive service.

Pretty good lunch here! Not a beer drinker unfortunately, so my primary comment is on the crab cake sandwich I had which was good. They gave a lot of crab which I appreciated and the fries and coleslaw were tasty too. I did try a taste of my friend’s Guinness which I thought was good. Would recommend and they offer tours!

I was a bit disappointed here. It was very cold, corporate like and the staff were not very warm or inviting. They seemed more annoyed than anything. I guess we interrupted their personal conversations. The drinks were great however. The gift shop was adequate. I guess I expected too much. Looks like a decent place to throw a party. Definitely big, but lacks warmth and charm.
Dawn R — Google review
Great facility with many options! Indoor or outdoor seating; comfy barstool at the large rectangular bar or chair at a table; high table or regular height; picnic table or cozy patio around a fire pit. You choose and this isn't even all the options available... The menu offers a good selection of various cultural- and American-style foods as appetizers, entrees, etc. The beer is really excellent -- staff was happy to guide you to your best personal taste in beers and let you sample to see what appeals most. There is a gift shop with cool momentos and select your own four-pack, or fill a growler or large can with your favorite. Tours are also available. Our food was tasty and arrived quickly after our order was placed.
NANCY T — Google review
This place is one of my favorite places in the greater Baltimore area. The brewery is huge, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Whether you’re sitting at the bar for a pint and a snack or sitting down at a table for a meal, you’ll have a great time. The interior is your classic industrial brewery with a bunch of fun Guinness signs and memorabilia. It seemed like there were tons of staff working so our food and drinks arrived quickly. If you sit inside in the taproom they have $40 for 4 sliders and 4 pints of Guinness Draught which is a great deal if you’re visiting with a couple friends! It’s conveniently located right off of Route 1, it sits by itself but it’s easy enough to hop right onto the highway and head into the city or over to another town. They seem to have a variety of fun events throughout the year whether it’s trivia night, football Sunday, Oktoberfest, etc, you name it. They also have several different brewery tours that run most days of the week. Definitely worth a visit!

Guinness Open Gate Baltimore is Disney World for beer drinkers! We visited last year for the first time and couldn't wait to visit again. This trip was planned specifically to take the History Tour & tasting. Pip was a fantastic tour guide! They made it informative & entertaining. The entire experience was everything we hoped for & more. The variety of beer & food is wonderful. Get the Smith Island Cake. Seriously, Best. Cake. Ever.

My daughters (10 and 12) and I came here for lunch after dropping my wife off for a flight at BWI (it's just 7 minutes from BWI). So is this place family friendly…Yes. There were families there with kids of varying ages. There is the Beer Garden which is a large outdoor area with picnic tables and umbrellas and the Taproom that is indoor. The Beer Garden and the Taproom have different menus with the Beer Garden being the more limited of the two. Since it was a beautiful day we ate in the Beer Garden. The area was also pet friendly as we saw two families with dogs. You scan the barcode at your table, place your order and they bring the food to your table. The staff there were great. My oldest had the Chicken Tenders + Fries and my youngest and I had the Beer Garden Burger. The portions were a little on the large side for the girls (they don't have a kids menu). Though they enjoyed it they could not finish their food. My burger was really good and I had a little sample of the tenders and they were good also. They have a huge selection of beers but since I was driving I had to stick to lemonade. I had the Guava Tiki Lemonade and my youngest had the Southside lemonade (lime and mint). Inside a dining area (where they serve the Tap Room menu), bar area and gift shop. It's laid out very nicely with lots of Guinness historical info. Overall it was a great experience and I definitely want to go back when I am not the designated driver.

The Enoch Pratt Free Library, established in 1882 and located in Baltimore, is an iconic main branch of the city's public library system. It was one of the first free-circulation public libraries in the United States and remains one of the largest. The library embodies democratic ideals by providing equal access to informative materials and educational opportunities for all individuals.
An excellent library. Was in town for an extended bit of work and they were able to give me a card to borrow books during my stay. Their fiction section, in particular, was outstanding. I couldn’t fjnd a certain book and asked the librarian who told me the upstairs section is only books from the past five years or so. All other books are housed in the basement. So many books!

Went for a quiet study room, was told that there is an empty room that no one was using today and that I could use it. I went in and set up my laptop to study and then security came in like I was doing something wrong. They were shouting on me and acting like they were going to be physically violent. Completely uncalled for and abusive disgusting women security. The library has almost no one in there at all. Huge waste of resources. Not a single person was looking at a book or doing anything. Just homeless people looking for a way to hide from outside. I was literally the only person in the library trying to do anything. A huge building and no one using it for anything. I was the only one wanting to use a quiet study room and felt like I could have been killed for this. Disgusting behavior for no reason. Shame on this city for allowing such a beautiful place to sink into being a daytime homeless shelter and using abusive security to scare the only person there trying to use the library legitamately.

Enjoyed another Maritime Magic benefit at Frederick Douglass . What great time. There were a few thousand people there and the crowd never felt too crowded. Perfect setting. Beautiful sunset over the water. Great food and drink. The best was the music. Dumpsta Funk out of New Orleans was funkolicious. Then the show got even better when hometown hero Chris Jacobs joined in. He set the place on fire. Such a great night.

We had the best wedding at the Frederick Douglass on October 12, 2025! We were able to have our wedding out on the pier, which was just incredible! Our cocktail hour was on the second floor so our guests could enjoy the museum. Our reception was on the third floor and was absolutely stunning. We have received many compliments on our unique venue and Natalie and her team made this all possible!
Kacie R — Google review
More of a black history museum than a maritime museum. The third floor is mostly empty. There’s an outdoor balcony, but it was locked. They have four old ships, but you’re not allowed to go out on the dock. There’s a workshop for maintaining them, but you’re not allowed in.
Paul M — Google review
Weddings at Frederick Douglass Maritime Park are not only unique because they can be held right on the waterfront pier, but because portraits in and around the venue, especially the views taken from the 3rd floor looking out onto the brick courtyard, are incredible! The flow happens seamlessly for guests as they move from the ceremony on the pier into the courtyard for cocktails and then up to the 3rd floor for the reception. Night portraits on the pier are my favorite here! IG: @urbanrowphotography

Park
The Washington Monument in Mount Vernon Place, Baltimore is a historic landmark designed by architect Robert Mills. Completed in 1829, it was the first monument dedicated to George Washington and features an 18-foot statue of him atop a 160-foot white marble tower. The monument offers gallery tours and the opportunity to climb its 227 stairs for panoramic views of Charm City from the top.
Great view! There are some interesting demonstrations for the exterior and interior of the monument. I paid a ticket for walking upstairs. It was 6 dollars per person for adult. I paid in cash. The staff said it usually takes 10 minutes to walk up, but for me, it took shorter, like less than 5 min to go up. The view is great. I wish i could go outside to look at it, but the door is locked for safety reasons. Going down is a bit more challenging than going up. I got a little dizzy from walking down. I recommend it when there is little to nobody.
Hye L — Google review

Went in blind and left impressed! We visited this landmark on a whim, mainly just wanted to snap a few photos but was pleasantly surprised to find out you can actually climb it. The staff were super friendly and helpful throughout. There’s a small fee to go up, and it’s about 227 steps to the top (a bit of a workout!), but totally worth it! You even get a fun sticker at the end for bragging rights. The views from the top are absolutely gorgeous!
Jesper C — Google review
A stunning monument built to honor George Washington, offering excellent views from the top. Tickets must be reserved either 30 days in advance or the day before after 3 pm through recreation.gov, and they usually sell out quickly. There is a security check at the entrance; small bags and sealed food items are allowed, but drinks are not. It would be even better if locker services were available in the National Mall area.
VideoLover N — Google review
Awesome view and location. Right next to a free museum. Bonus, you can get a cool view of the monument from the Othello room inside the museum. There are mini parks around it with other statues too. Awesome setting and unique atmosphere. I think you have to pay like 5 bucks to climb up but I don’t know for sure since we didn’t do that.
Cardagains — Google review
The view from the Washington Monument is beautiful, but the climb inside is narrow, airless, and can feel claustrophobic. There’s no open space at the top, only narrow closed glass doors. I don't recommend it for anyone sensitive to tight, poorly ventilated spaces.
