Pub
English restaurant
Whitelock's Ale House, the oldest pub in Leeds, has a rich history dating back to 1715 when it was known as The Turks Head. Acquired by the Whitelock family in the 1880s, this atmospheric establishment has been frequented by notable figures like the Duke of Kent and John Betjeman.
We were lucky, cause we had an amazing Sunday roast for dinner! (Yes, we were a bit late) The place and the food is amazing. It looks heavy but the truth is this meal is very comfortable food. I hope I will have a chance to come back soon.
Balázs L — Google review
Had a delicious Sunday roast at Leeds' oldest pub, first opened in 1715—over 310 years of history! The meat was tender, the roast potatoes were tasty (soaked in rich gravy), and the Yorkshire pudding was just right. A great spot for a proper traditional roast!
Angela M — Google review
One of the best roasts in Leeds. Always miss the lamb but managed to snag it this time and it was spot on. Yorkies and gravy always top, as well as the pints. Had a lovely cask oat stout on. Love this pub.
Jesse H — Google review
Used to visit here many years ago and pleased it's still the same. Had lunch here, very tasty food and helpful staff. Bowl of water provided for our dog before anything else! Will definitely be back again soon.
Lyz B — Google review
We visited Whitelocks shortly after opening time (11am) just for a couple of drinks so i can't comment on the food. My friend Steven strongly recommended the Guinness and i have to say it was the best we have had in Leeds. It was rich and creamy - fantastic! The pub is superb with a lovely old style and copper topped tables. It is a very relaxing environment and the staff were friendly.
Jonathan S — Google review
In my research of puns to visit, this popped up on lots of lists since it is the oldest pub in Leeds! Was worried it was going to be more of a tourist trap but it was a lovely experience! Super friendly staff, delicious food and such a fun and historic interior!
Kendra S — Google review
Really lovely old pub we had recommended to us for our short stay in Leeds. Lovely Ilkley Brewery beer on tap and a lot of local ale suggestions. Friendly staff patiently waited for us to make our selections. The roast coming past us looked absolutely delicious!

Located in the Urban Village of Holbeck on the outskirts of Leeds city center, The Midnight Bell is a charming gastropub and brewery with a spacious courtyard. As the flagship pub of Leeds Brewery, it offers an impressive selection of their own cask ales. The picturesque courtyard provides a perfect setting for enjoying British classics from their ever-changing menu, made with high-quality Yorkshire ingredients.
A genuinely wonderful little pub. Pleasing atmosphere incredibly charming staff. Great beer well kept and expertly pulled. And frankly one of the finest Sunday roasts I've had in a pub. Great portions chock full of flavour and delicious season. Genuinely a wonderful meal. Will be back next time we're in the area
Andrew A — Google review
We had a great experience this evening at the Midnight Bell. We booked a table for 17:30, arrived early and our table was ready and waiting. Service was very attentive and friendly throughout. We both had fish and chips, the portions were very generous and we couldn’t finish them. At c.£45 incl soft drinks, excellent value for money.
Simon H — Google review
We booked a Sunday dinner here last week. It's lovely. Our table was ready on time. We had table service for drinks and food by some lovely waiting staff. The food was beautiful. I had roast beef with some sides of cauliflower cheese, which was lush. Massive Yorkshire puddings too. Would definitely recommend and come again.
Vicky H — Google review
Popped here today for a few beers and a Roast beef Sunday lunch. The food was generous in size, really tasty, top notch food. Everything is locally sourced, service was excellent as was the beers.
Jason H — Google review
We arrived on a Tuesday evening. Every single table outside has empty plates and glasses on it. The 2 staff are just sat texting and clearly do not care about working. The entire time we were there not a single glass or plate was collected or even acknowledgment of customers other than when you go to the bar, and that feels like a bit much for them. Food was over a 30min wait. It was decent when it arrived but, for the abysmal and lazy service I will never return.
Jamie C — Google review
I loved this pub. Lovely decor inside and good selection of beer and ales. Nice big beer garden outside too.
Dan S — Google review
Came here 2 weeks ago for Sunday lunch and really enjoyed it. Returned today and not as good.My beef roast was tepid at best, can not understand why places can't serve food hot.Partner had pork,I had their crackling which was the best part of meal. Wouldn't rush back.
Tim H — Google review
Best spot for Sunday lunch in leeds! The food is excellent and the staff are such a friendly bunch! When we visited there was not a single table free if you didn’t book in and for good reasons. Portions are great value for money and one of the best beef roasts I’ve ever had. My husband had the fish and chips and also said it was delicious. The midnight bell will now be a permanent fixture for our Sundays.

Loved everything about this place. Food is incredible and food portion sizes too. Good variety on a small seasonal menu so everyone found something they really enjoyed. Service was impeccable and really friendly. Atmosphere was relaxed yet classy without being pretentious. Will definitely visit again.

I had my wedding reception here this month and it was incredible. From start to finish it was such an easy experience booking and arranging what we wanted. Nic the owner and his team are truly an incredible one and the food, drinks; ambience, and service on the day were second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. Every guest said it was one of the best weddings they’d been to and that’s because of the team here. Will recommend anyone looking to get married to use Shears Yard as you are brilliant! We will be back very regularly to eat here and will be regulars for life! Thank you for making our day magic ❤️❤️❤️

This was a great dining experience. The food is gourmet style, yet reasonably priced. The table service is excellent and the atmosphere is calm , welcoming and professional. I'd definitely eat here again as the menu has some very delicious sounding dishes.

We had an absolutely amazing night at Shears Yard last night. What a little gem this restaurant is from entering the restaurant we were made to feel very welcome from Ben and the ambiance was so nice and relaxing. We booked a tasting menu for 2 with wine pairing. We can’t recommend this enough it was absolutely delicious. The presentation and quality of the food was first class we savoured every mouthful it was absolutely delicious. We were excited for each dish that followed as Ben explained in absolute detail each course and Alex was very knowledgeable on each of the wines that paired superbly. The service received from Ben and Alex was first class it felt more like a private dining experience they were so attentive and knowledgeable. Also a big shout out to the chef and thank you for the amazing food you prepared for us. We will definitely be back and will continue to recommend this fabulous place!
Lisa B — Google review
A great experience from start to finish. We came for the tasting menu. Me and my partner have a few intolerances, but both management and the kitchen had no problems swapping stuff out for us. The food was amazing, as were the drinks pairings. The service was perfect, very casual but nothing was too much of an ask. Can’t wait to return!
Emily E — Google review
Very chilled ambiance at shears. I was suprised by the lunch menu cost 2 courses for £20 or 3 courses for £25. At that price (let's be honest was in this day and age a steal, but I was dubious). I was indeed wrong. The quality and presentation of the food was divine. We decided on trying the bread, the butter that day was mixed with timothy taylor beer. Not to my taste, but the forcaccia bread...oh my the bread. The crust was definately to my taste if you lean on the salty side of cuisine it was worth the price! The fish tasted fresh and delicate. My lamb was cooked perfectly. The kimchi potatoes were drier than expected...however, I l2t it go after the chocolate brownie. I shared this with my husband. It was rich with flavour from tart cherries to the silky ganache. I forget our waiters name, but he was chipper and friendly. Gave his opinion on some the dishes which was useful. Was definately a warm welcome coming through the door. I would love to come back for an evening meal.
Krystle — Google review
It’s hard to find a really good Sunday lunch sometimes when you are looking at new towns and cites. My grandson found this little gem for us to go out for a little meal when we visited him at his uni digs. And wow it did not fail to please. We had a starter of seared smoked salmon and then a beef or pork Sunday lunch each and they were delicious. The staff were just amazing also. The star of the day the bread and butter well we had never tasted such superb bread with butter. Its most certainly baked on prem and what a baker who makes it. You could live off it and i have added it to my to ten list of favourite foods now. I cant recall the exact details but it was black garlic with grape and a few other ingredients between the butter and bread i felt like Oliver and wanted to shout please sir could i have some more.
Paul F — Google review
Visited last night to try out the tasting menu. The place itself is lovely inside, really nice atmosphere and music. We ordered the tasting menu with the wine pairing, which was matched beautifully. We really enjoyed the food itself. However, we felt so rushed between courses. We weren't given enough time to finish our drink before our next drink and course was being given to us. I had to ask to have a break between courses because we hadn't been given one. We felt the waiting staff weren’t interested in providing an experience and didn’t give us any extra information about the tasting menu itself. It was a shame considering how much we paid for the experience. Unfortunately, I don't think I would visit again as the customer service spoiled the whole experience.

Angelica & Crafthouse is a stylish, contemporary restaurant located on the 5th floor of Trinity Leeds, offering stunning views of Boar Lane and the surrounding area. The restaurant serves a British menu featuring chargrilled dishes and fine wines. With a dedicated Christmas menu, à la carte options, and seven-course tasting menus using high-quality ingredients from local providers such as Ginger Pig butchers in North Yorkshire, guests can enjoy an exceptional dining experience.
I had a beautiful experience and I will definitely revisit. Getting off the lift, the reception from staff and atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. I enjoyed all the meals I ordered and also tried the cauliflower steak (it was my first time trying a vegetarian dish and it was delicious). I also loved the idea of savouring my meal while seated in a room filled with plants. If you really don’t like plants you might be a bit uncomfortable as this location could pass for a beautiful greenhouse.

Angelica & Crafthouse is a charming venue for celebrations, offering a delightful atmosphere and an excellent location. While the food is of average quality with small portions that lean towards the pricey side, the overall experience makes it worth a visit.
AMIN N — Google review
Stunning food, great service. We had a fantastic experience. We asked to share our starters, no problem at all. We had asparagus and the scallops. Both beautiful. The lamb was beautiful too very tastes and cooked medium rare which is just how I like it. I am sure they would cook it to your preference. , I had it with the blackened carrots. Cod was so chunky too and cooked to perfection. We were so full but we had the cheeseboard and again it was delicious and even put on extra crackers! Lovely birthday and anniversary treat we Will definitely be back Thank you!
Sarah C — Google review
My partner and I visited for the first time a couple weekends ago and we absolutely loved it! Staff are welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is lovely. For starters I ordered the asparagus, which I had never tried before and was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend ordered the mackerel, which was a tiny bit salty for his own tastebuds but still really enjoyed. We had the steak and the duck breast for mains and both dishes were incredible. Sticky toffee pudding to finish and wow! So delicious. The staff even brought a complimentary glass of champagne and small pudding for my boyfriends birthday. The attention to detail at craft house is immaculate. We both absolutely loved our experience there and cannot wait to go again.
Shelby R — Google review
Well, can I give a sixth star? What a great night we've had at Crafthouse, the welcoming, the venue and the care we received from the staff was very professional throughout the all experience. I booked for my girlfriend birthday celebrations and left a message due to dietary requirements, few minutes later I received a phone call from reception and they reassured me that all our needs will be met, she was right! The menu is great, and the execution of the dishes was faultless, superb so was the quality of the ingredients and the presentation. The floor staff is very knowledgeable and caring, all I have left to say is that I'll be dining at Crafthouse over and over again, I can't wait!
Stefano D — Google review
Really good food, the pork shoulder, scallops, olives, foccacia bread, and the cod were just sublime. The manager was really good and the waiters too. Truly recommended
Sara C — Google review
Sadly I think that Crafthouse has gone downhill. I have visited multiple times over the years that it has been open, but I think this will likely be my last visit. The food was good, and the staff all very pleasant. Portions were good, and the food was good value for money. However, for a restaurant listed in the Michelin Guide I would expect a higher level of service. The main issues seemed to stem from a very disjointed link between the drink orders and the food orders.. For example we ordered cocktails as an aperitif, yet they arrived during our first course (having an ice cold cocktail to accompany hot soup is just not good enough). Our butter was taken away before we had finished our bread, we asked for a second bottle of water that never appeared, and the heavy bass/noise from the bar upstairs did come across more as noise as opposed to atmosphere. It's not a bad place to visit: the food was on the whole very good, but overall the experience was not worth the money and it's the first time I have ever asked for the service charge to be removed.
Gavin B — Google review
You need to know where you're going to find this place as hidden away. Set on the 3rd floor you take a lift and are met by staff. We sat outside as a lovely night and it was very pleasant. We asked for cocktails and placed our order saying that we didn't want starter until cocktails finished. They came when we were still only halfway through 🤨 Then we were almost onto our main course with no bottle of wine and had to remind them. Starters of tuna tatiki and the asparagus were very good. Mains of duck and the stone bass also good but I wasn't keen on the celeriac sauce . The extra chips were great and could have had more of them. A nice bottle of rosé completed meal and it came to £140 with surcharge. Nice staff but just wish they'd listened to our request.

Carvery
Hawthorne Farm - Dining & Carvery is a charming rustic pub with ample space, offering a traditional food and drink menu. The large beer garden and on-site parking make it an ideal spot to enjoy their extensive carvery options. From small veggie carveries to the ultimate weekend portion, there are 30 different choices available every day of the week. The 14-hour slow-cooked meats, including gammon, turkey, lamb, beef, pork or chicken are particularly popular.
A really nice pub with a good selection of vegan food. I had the cauliflower wing salad which was huge and tasted amazing. Finished off with a vegan Bakewell tart and ice cream. Both were tasty and the value was amazing. The menu has lots of other things on it for vegans. Highly recommend if you’re in the area. The carvery isn’t as vegan friendly, you’d be eating toast vegetables and potatoes only but great for vegetarians.
The T — Google review
Went for a spur of the moment meal at Hawthorne Farm as we really like it here. The drive out isn't bad just be careful on the little roads or you could end up upside down surviving on travel sweets until the AA arrives. H Farm staff are always welcoming and happy to serve you or if they see you using the app the let you be (if the AA man not busy rescuing you can use the AA app and get 15% off) My fiancée went for the Chicken Tikka Masala with half and half rice and chips and it was very nice indeed. I was a little bit more hungry and went for the ultimate chicken combo. How wrongly is this dish named. The strips are more like a the size of a smurfs arm and contained the same amount of chicken, chicken breasts were like two peeled mc-nuggets and as tough as roasted boot leather. Onion rings were fine. The laughable tiny amount of sweet chilli sauce didn't really help the chicken breasts and we noticed it was missing the side of coleslaw which I thought could help redeem the meal. How wrong we were as when it came it was as small as the chilli dish. Think this should be moved to the kids menu for kids who are recovering serious stomach surgery who are on ozempic. Still enjoy this place and will be returning will just be avoiding the "Ultimate Chicken Combo" Edit: I prefer the little roads. Was just making sure other people were safe 😎

Upon driving towards the entrance we could not see any parking bays marked disabled. We booked a table but there wasn't anyone to greet us on the counter just through the door so we had to stand around a while which isn't easy with two of our party who aren't very mobile. We eventually got seated and the service was good and friendly from then on. The carvery was decent, turkey, beef and ham were all ok. A good choice of vegetables, some cooked better than others but I guess it is difficult given the nature of a carvery. We don't often go to chain eateries but having said that I have recently tried Sycamore Farm, and a Toby Carvery, neither were as good as this establishment.
J C — Google review
The roast Buffet is hit and miss, have been Four times, twice was good and the other two times it was bad. The kids play area and seating booths could do with a deep clean and some repairs but staff are friendly and helpful.
Joseph H — Google review
Worst experience here so far, we phoned to book a table for 4, he said he'd put us down, we turned up and we hadn't been put down but luckily we were found a table. Ordering was easy enough, but then the food came and the starter came before our meals even though we asked for it to come with the mains, the kids meals came first which was fab, but then my burger came and I ordered the smoked bacon and cheese burger, im bot kidding id have got more bacon at mcdonalds for a £2 odd burger, scandalous, so I asked the waiter to take it back as I wasn't happy with the bacon shown in the first picture, she brought it back and the second picture is what it came back as, still not happy and oh the second piece of bacon was cold 🙃 the chips aren't the same anymore, it just wasn't enjoyable, staff are amazing, kind amd caring but the food wasn't up to usual scratch, not sure if I will return.
Lauren M — Google review
The pub has a seating area for families, so you don't need to worry about your children being loud and disturbing other people eating. The carvery offered value for money and was delicious. There is a small indoor play area for children, but the rides and games require money. I feel the area would benefit from a redesign. There's plenty of room for a small soft play instead. I don't feel the pub is making use of the space. On the whole, it's a good place to eat if you've got kids. I will definitely return.
Chloe W — Google review
Booked a table for 13 to celebrate hubby's 70th which is on Tuesday. Couldn't believe how good service was today particularly as it was a fairly busy Saturday. Staff pleasant, smart and clean. The staff member tasked with serving ice cream topped with candles for hubby didn't falter although must have thought my daughter-in-law was bonkers! Thanks to all staff, it made for a very enjoyable celebration.

A magical evening at 📍Myrtle Tavern, our favorite pub in Leeds! From the cozy vibes to the ever-charming themes, this place never fails to enchant us. 🍺✨ Plus, how cool is it that you can personalize your own photo on a Guinness? We can’t wait to see what incredible theme they bring to life next

What an absolutely bang on place. Popped in to have Sunday roast with a friend from the area and was delighted by the friendly atmosphere. Well spaced out, cosy and intimate while also being able to accomodate a lot of people. I had the beef roast and I couldn't finish everything! Will definitely be back.

I went for a roast dinner here and left very disappointed. Given the high prices, I expected excellent food and service, but that wasn’t the case. My roast beef was served cold and had to be sent back. While the staff replaced it within about 5 minutes, my mother was left sitting with her food going cold while we waited. For the price point, this should never have happened. When the replacement arrived, it was at least hot, but the beef was on the fatty side and not what I would call good value. What really let the experience down was the attitude: when I raised the issue, the response was dismissive — “I changed it within 5 minutes” — and there was no apology, discount, or goodwill gesture to acknowledge the inconvenience. Overall, overpriced for the quality received and disappointing customer service. I wouldn’t rush back.

Never had a bad meal here. Especially the Sunday roast. Never disappoints!! Staff are always incredible and friendly. Will always be a favourite of mine.

A lovely pub serving excellent food. We booked in today for Sunday lunch. Food was tasty. I asked for the meat from my lunch to be served on a separate plate, server was very happy to arrange for this to be done. I’ve had to remove a star simply because when booking there is a section asking for any special requirements. I wrote down that I didn’t want to be seated near the toilets or in a draught I explained why. We were shown to our table next to an open door and near the toilets. I felt that my comments when booking were either missed or ignored. Staff whilst visiting were very attentive

We went here for a family gathering and had a really lovely Sunday dinner together. The food was cooked to a high standard – generous portions, tasty, and well presented. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly or welcoming, which made the atmosphere feel warm and relaxed. Another highlight is the spacious beer garden, perfect for enjoying a drink on sunny days and ideal if you’re visiting with family or friends. Altogether, it’s a great place to enjoy good food, friendly service, and a comfortable setting.

We arrived at a busy time with no reservation, but managed to get a table. We hadn't planned on having dinner in Leeds, we had just come to collect our son from Uni, but traffic was bad. So we googled local pub with food. What a find! The food was amazing and service fabulous. The pub is gorgeous and the team obviously love to go all our for any festivities! Inside was done out for Halloween so brilliantly I can only imagine what Xmas will be like there! The grounds are also lovely and in summer would be beautiful. I think we'll make that our regular spot for drop offs and collection over the next 4 uni years 🤣.

Located on Hunslet Road, The Adelphi is a charming Victorian tavern with striking period decor, featuring wood panels and old tiles. It offers a friendly and down-to-earth atmosphere, making it a real local pub in Leeds. The Sunday lunches here are particularly popular, serving up traditional dishes like roast chicken with pigs in blankets and slow-cooked pork belly with black pudding bon bon. In addition to meat options, there are also plenty of vegetarian and plant-based choices available.
Second time coming for Sunday Lunch- an amazing experience again. The food is well worth the money (we did the Sharer Lamb Roast Special- also comes with beef, chicken and all the trimmings £38 total). Excellent value. The atmosphere is always lovely and relaxed, the food was delicious - by big chef Jason - great chef. And the server, Blake, was lovely and friendly - extremely helpful as always 100% recommend a visit and for Sunday Dinner - brilliant.

Really great pub in Leeds. A bit of a walk from the city center to cross the river but worth it. Super rustic, cozy pub with several rooms to choose from. Impressive cask options and the usual draft choices. The food stands out here. Really diverse and high quality menu. I couldn’t decide so I ordered a trio of bar snacks. All were top notch, fresh and delicious, and came with great sauces. Although super quiet on late March afternoon on a Monday, would still recommend a visit any time!

Really disappointing food. Lovely garden, reasonable service, food abysmal. Tepid, tasteless curry with plastic in it. Burnt burger. Greasy cauliflower wings. Nothing we had was nice. If it had nice food it would be the perfect location.
Sally B — Google review
Having been to The mustard pot before I was severely disappointed with the quality of food and service in general . This meal was meant to be present to the in-laws however after waiting 1 hour for food , the food came out lukewarm with a freezing Yorkshire pudding and one cut of meat on mine and my partners plate. Not to mention missing items from the meals no pork crackling and stuffing on any of the 4 roast meals that we had . One meal had to be sent back to be warmed up, other tables around us was facing the same issues and the table behind us having waited longer than us had to leave with no food after a horrendous wait. Despite having only 10% discount knocked off the bill , which definitely wasn’t enough after the wait and state the food came out in . We were all a bit in shock to still have to pay the amount that we did . The management of food service and delivery all round needs to be paid more attention to ! Please see photo attached !

Stopped by for a meal and some drinks on a Friday night and had a wonderful time. The food was fantastic, the staff were all lovely and attentive and we had a great evening. It definitely should be busier for a Friday night so if you’ve been wondering if you want to give it another try then you definitely should!

I don’t know where to start with how disappointing my experience was. First off, the food arrived cold—not just lukewarm, but properly cold. It's hard to believe they even tried to keep it at a decent temperature. Then, I specifically ordered pork crackling, which is a staple for me, and to my surprise, it was nowhere to be found. How do you mess that up? To make matters worse, it took an hour for the food to even arrive! An entire hour! And after all of that, as if I needed any more insult, they had the audacity to offer a measly 10% off. Seriously? A discount doesn't make up for terrible service, cold food, and missing key items from my order. Would never return. If I could give zero stars, I would.

First time visiting in a long while and had the pleasure of meeting the new landlady Leah, she was warm and welcoming from the get go and told us all about her new plans for the pub. Looks like a dramatic turn around from the previous landlord who was the complete opposite. Really friendly service, and much more welcoming to everyone including families like it used to be, can’t wait to see what wonderful things are to come with the new landlady and will definitely come back to visit soon!
Ciccia C — Google review
Came in today with my partner to try the Sunday dinner for the first time. We both ordered the roast beef with a side of pigs in blankets. My partner wanted to order the cauliflower cheese but was told they didn’t have any today which we were fine with until another family then ordered it 10 minutes later and we watched it being brought out. This made no sense to us and clearly showed the lack of communication between the management and staff here. When the roast first came out we thought it looked good on first glance but when ordering beef, especially at the prices they charge here, you expect it to be cooked nice but it was well done with a lot of fatty pieces. By time we made it onto the potatoes/veg they were nearly cold as the whole meal only came out luke warm and not hot. We could tell the potatoes would have been nice when they were first cooked as they were fluffy inside but the outside was hard and chewy like they had been microwaved. The service here was also just as bad as the food, with the staff just seeming like they don’t want to be there. No one came over to check everything was okay during the meal, which I think is an important part of being a server and then we waited ages for the bill even though the restaurant was nearly empty. Overall, we both wish we would’ve spent half the money and just gone to Toby carvery up the road.

Modern British restaurant
Ox Club is an award-winning restaurant located in Leeds city center, known for its grill cooking and elevated comfort food. The menu features a mix of à la carte, prix fixe, and brunch options with bold and creative dishes such as English asparagus with smoked lamb bacon and cornish sardines with vine leaves.
Heard about the steak and fries offer for £16 so thought we’d check it out. Steak is done perfectly to my requested liking, generous portion of chips and their in house made butter complements the meal perfectly. We also got it with peppercorn sauce which was well made and perfectly seasoned. Service is good too. First time I came for this and would come again for this deal and possibly to try other things on the menu! Very naturalistic interior and chilled atmosphere too.

Best British food I’ve ever had! I love all the sauces, seasoning was on point! Their menu changes too. Didn’t have to prebook if you come 6pm, I guess it’s early dinner, plenty seats. Great service, waiter gave good recommendations and very friendly, enjoyed our time there very much. My favourite was the ox heart with oyster sauce, it was an interesting texture that almost didn’t taste like heart (I’ve had chicken heart before) and the oyster sauce was creamy with a hint of oyster, I really enjoy the natural flavour of the ingredients, they were paired and chosen well. The mutton kofta itself was a bit tough and salty and in my opinion would’ve been better medium rare. The cherry tomatoes came with it were the best I’ve had, juicy and good balance of sweet and sour. The medium rare steak with pepper sauce was great too, we ordered fries on the side. Again the pepper sauce was excellent, it had a spicy kick to it, I’d buy all of their sauces. Steak was done well too. The basque cheesecake was ok, standard good cake, not too sweet.

Came for a special occasion, was great to go to Headrow house for some drinks before hand. Waiters gave good recommendations for food and made it feel really special. The steak and chips deal was delicious, it was clear that despite being one of the cheapest dishes this did not have an impact on the quality. Would definitely recommend.

Really cool vibe in the restaurant. The menu is pretty limited and for £90 I don’t think we received enough steak for our money. The bread is insanely good and everything was tasty. Service was average and they do make a good negroni but I don’t think this warranted a £20 service charge.

Delicious hidden gem in centre of Leeds. The service is outstanding, food is perfect, love the bbq concept. Highly recommended.
Simeon R — Google review
Not sure where this 4.7 rating came from, must be paid ads or something. The food was seriously average. I was actually shocked at how badly they managed to do the most famous Spanish dish, the padrón peppers. The skin wasn’t even cooked through, seasoning was way too salty. Took one bite and sent it back. When the waiter asked what was wrong, we told her this just isn’t how it’s supposed to be done. She shrugged and said “well, that’s padrón peppers.” We were speechless. Look, I’m no chef, but I’ve had them in Spain and this was nothing alike. As for the steak, which I assume is meant to be their signature, it wasn’t anywhere near as tender or high quality as I expected. I’ve seen their Instagram photos and I’ll give credit, whoever took those pictures is seriously talented, because the real thing is miles off. The vibe inside is decent, I’ll admit, good for a date spot, but the food was honestly poor. If you think this is the best you’ve had, maybe you just haven’t had proper food before. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but that’s the truth. And when we left, not even a goodbye from the staff. Guess they just can’t handle criticism.😅 And let’s be real, if you’re charging that kind of money, the dishes need to live up to the price tag. They absolutely didn’t. Terrible experience, won’t be coming back. Oh, and to make it worse, this was me and my partner’s two-year anniversary dinner. Couldn’t have been more disappointing.

So good that we travel from our home in Leicester for Sunday roast here. Also went to the recent 10 course tasting menu, both meals were, as ever, outstanding. A massive THANK YOU 🙌to Elliot, Chris and the team at The Cross Keys We used the function room upstairs for a surprise party, it was perfect 👍👍. Fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff and the food was great too. The room was cozy and quirky, with a very unique and traditional feel. We were able to add additional decorations to bring our event to life. The private bar was ideal, perfect for our guest, no need to go downstairs. The service from the team, both in planning our event and through the day was fantastic. They were on hand with welcome drinks, created a last minute Celiac platter and sorted emergency candles for the cake (I’d forgotten about both). I’m sure I saw them singing “Happy Birthday” too. The team were very flexible and helped create the theme we wanted, we couldn’t have done it without them, I can’t praise or thank them enough. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great venue. Thank you 🙏🏻 so much. X

A good distance from the city center, less so from the main train station. So if you’re just arriving or waiting to head out on a train, this place is (maybe) worth the walk. A cool little pub in a clearly gentrifying area. Interior is rustic yet modern. They had only two of the four cask handles active. Not to mention at £5 a pint this was the most expensive beer during my Leeds trip. Service was spotty. The guy was friendly and welcoming. The Jersey Shore looking girl acted like she’d rather be anywhere else. Which is cool, just leave your laptop at home or maybe even stay home rather than bring your misery to work and project on other people.

Pub
Beck and Call is a family-friendly pub located off Stainbeck Road in Leeds. It is owned by the same team behind other well-known establishments in the area. The pub offers a diverse menu, including traditional pub grub as well as lighter and healthier options. There's also a kids' menu available. The spacious beer garden makes it an ideal spot for Sunday lunches, featuring classic dishes like roasted topside of beef and pork belly, with additional side options to elevate the dining experience.
So I've primarily been to The Beck and Call as an entertainer for their school holiday discos, but I have sometimes stayed and enjoyed the atmosphere and the food after dancing about for an hour and a half! The food I have had has come to me hot and tasty with a portion sometimes a bit too big so I've struggled to finish it. I often see visitors to the discos also thoroughly enjoying the food and rarely see empty plates, and even spending longer playing in the playground at the back of the pub even after I've packed up and headed home. They hold events throughout the year including New Years and Bonfire Night with fireworks which are great for all the family. You can also hold your own event there by hiring the Orangery room where they'll set up the food table for you, provide the food at the right moment in the party, and sort out their resident entertainer for you, all inclusive in the price to hire. Positives: Lots of car parking with disabled access, great selection on the menu and good clean toilet facilities. The Orangery space is suitable for parties up to 25 children. Negatives: I'd love to be able to darken or black out the Orangery for a Neon Disco but would have to be saved for the darker winter months.

Recommended by a friend. I don't normally listen. On this occasion. Glad that I did. The food was absolutely delicious. Every member of our group had a different version of the Sunday lunch and all agreed their meats were perfect. I had the vegetarian haggis which wasn't for my tastes. Too soft a texture for my palate, I prefer the crunch of a nut roast. That's just me though. Deserts were just as nice. The service was brilliant, but the food was a little slow to come out. I'm going to make an exception though as it was father's day. I will certainly be going back for Sunday lunch again. Hopefully that is enough of a seal of approval 👌 Also completely dog friendly which for our in laws is perfect.

Had a lovely meal here with the girls, we were really impressed with the food and service. Particularly the price as we had starters and were paying for the birthday girl. Very reasonable. Quite a few (admittedly well-behaved and properly supervised) toddlers and preschoolers wandering around before 7, so go later if you're the sort that's bothered by children.

Beck and Call consistently impresses with its incredible food, making each visit a delightful experience. The menu boasts flavors that never fail to captivate, ensuring a satisfying culinary journey. The atmosphere is consistently great, providing a perfect backdrop for enjoyable meals. The venue itself is charming, adding to the overall appeal of the dining experience. The hospitality at Beck and Call is truly commendable, creating a warm and welcoming environment. It's a go-to place for those seeking not just a meal but a memorable and enjoyable dining outing.

Nice big beer and gin selection so what not to like there! The food was really good, I had the fish and chips and my partner got the tofish and chips, both were nice big portions and value for money. Both of us never get full but we struggled to eat all of this! Definitely be coming back soon!!

Really nice setting of a pub and very spacious. Nice selection of drinks. Food was nice but I think as we had a large order some came out a bit cold. I have now eaten a Sunday dinner here and it was fantastic. Everything cooked nicely, generous portions. We also waited a while especially to be served at the bar. Service is a problem it always takes a while to get a drink, such a big bar but they never have enough people serving so it’s always a wait to be served.

Arrived for our table booking when the pub was quiet yet it took over an hour for the food to arrive and when it did one of the mains was refunded because it was so overcooked. The bar staff, upon ordering asked how we wanted the gammon steak cooked?!?! The only saving grace was the member of staff who offered us free drinks. He was excellent. Sadly the manager gave the responsibility of our complaints to the member of staff and was nowhere to be seen. Quite unprofessional.

Came for a Sunday dinner with my girlfriend today, sat down and the back doors were wide open tried to close them but they just kept opening. Looked at menu and ordered at the bar. the staff behind the bar seemed like they didn’t know what day it was. I asked if they were still serving roast dinners. they said yes i ordered , the majority of what i ordered they didn’t have so ended up a roast chicken with mash potato, 2 carrots, cold onion rings and a bowl of kale. And a butternut squash roast with one roast potato and a carrot. I asked for some more gravy and the server came once we had finished our food stacked it on top of our plate and walked away. it was a complete waste of money wouldn’t come again.

The Corn Mill Lodge Hotel in Leeds offers classic rooms with en suite bathrooms, free parking, and Wi-Fi. Completed in 1998, the hotel's design is inspired by an original Corn Mill on the site. As a family-run establishment, it provides personal attention to guests and accommodates various occasions such as business visits, social gatherings, and weddings. The hotel features a restaurant known for its Sunday carvery with a selection of meats and a veggie dish available upon request.
We come here every year with our car club, and it never disappoints. The Sunday carvery is epic. The meats are cooked to perfection, and there's a great selection of potatoes and veg. It really is an experience to behold. There's sometimes a long queue, but it's well worth the wait. A superb carvery, and superb staff.

I didn’t stay there personally but I just had a wedding and some of my friends and family stayed in this hotel and they all came back with positive feedback how it was very clean friendly staff very helpful very local to what you need. It was a lovely place to stay in. The staff are very honest and very kind. My mum left her gold ring in the room she has had it for a very long time so it is very value to her and she thought she would never get it back however the kind lady I can’t remember her name. I’m very bad at remembering name I am sorry. she went looking for this ring in multiple rooms Because my mum kept going to my sister’s room so she looked in both rooms checked everywhere pull things apart just to look for my mum‘s ring she found it. I’ve got it back safe and sound. I really appreciate that woman and I would recommend this place to everyone. 1000% The price itself is very cheap So great places to stay I would come here xx

Our group had our annual Christmas lunch here and we all enjoyed it. The food was excellent. The vegetables were not mushy as must carvery's veg seems to be and the meat was tender and lean. The staff were excellent, attentive and not invasive. They have Black Sheep beer on pumps, but they seem to hide them? I enjoyed a pint, but it's not cheap. We didn't stay here, but I would if I didn't live so close...

My son and daughter in law had their wedding venue here on the 26th April. It was a fantastic venue. The staff went out of their way to make it a day to remember. Nothing was too much. The food was good in every aspect for the wedding meal and evening venue. The room we stayed in gave us no reason for complaint. I give them my thanks.

Had our wedding 26/04/25. Jamie, Carol and their team we absoloutly flawless. Nothing was too much. From booking over a year before the event up until the event, communication was spot on. The food was AMAZING The service staff were AMAZING Carol and Jamie were AMAZING This place was brilliant for our wedding on every level. Even if you don't want a wedding the food they serve is the same on their carvery every day and it is very good. 100% recommend a visit whether it be a stay, meal, function ... Great place.. Dates interior, annoying plumbing noise every time the bathroom was used! Like the sound of a foghorn for 30 seconds after every flush. I mentioned this to the staff a number of times and was told it would be fixed, it never got looked at and indeed was given a different reason by another member of the team who was so unhelpful we decided to leave. Thanks to that I found a much better hotel in Leeds city centre for less than half the price.

Man V Roast is a go-to spot for those craving a taste of home with its classic Sunday roast offerings. Whether you dine in, take away, or opt for delivery, the menu features carvery boxes packed with meat, veggies, roast potatoes, stuffing, and Yorkshire pudding. The contemporary carvery provides a variety of meat options alongside rich gravy and an assortment of vegetables. For those seeking comfort food at their doorstep, Man V Roast offers full Sunday roasts delivered right to your door.
Just got the spot! Absolutely delicious, spot on roasts. We had a complicated order with varied meats from the carvery, plenty of extras and a special request. Got 20% discount for ordering online too. Delivery was quick, packaged well and they threw in a lush treacle pudding with homemade custard because they made an error initially with my order. The mash potatoes were super smooth like butter, scrummy roast tatties, yummy gammon & well cooked pulled pork. Yorkshire puds and stuffing were so good too! I was nervous having seen the negative reviews about service but actually the people are nice and it seems they just get really busy sometimes like most takeaways. But the food here is so worth it, can't recommend enough. Its traditional British grub just like mum makes, at a fair price, what's not to love?!

A perfect find in Leeds 6. The friendly staff served up a fantastic roast dinner with all the trimmings. I’ve opted for a beef roast dinner served with 3 slices of meat(prim cuts without any fat or gristle). The total cost of the meal was £10.00 with other meat options of meats available. Good food and service at a very affordable prices these days.

Absolutely amazing. Fresh cooked carvery every day. Really reasonable prices and sound staff. Mixed meat is very nice as well as the lamb. Has full selection of traditional sauces available as well.

İt was quiet for Brunch at 10am on a Sunday. Beautiful building and gardens with plenty of parking. Service at the bar but we got table service because it was quiet. Breakfast and coffee was quick and enjoyable outside on a warm but cloudy summer day. Quality of the food itself was quite average but nevertheless good portions and filling. Likely to return for the atmosphere and because it is walkable for us.

We had a lovely long lunch here today. I had the vegetable tart with roast new potatoes which was delicious and my wife had the bacon and chicken ciabatta sandwich which she really enjoyed. But the highlight for me was the mandarin tart with raspberry sorbet which was gorgeous! The service was really friendly if a little relaxed and the atmosphere was calm. Overall we had a very pleasant lunch with our friends.

What an incredible hidden gem! I was super impressed with the White House, everything from the food to the setting was just perfect. The meals were absolutely delicious, with generous portion sizes (even the kids’ meals were huge!). The interior design is honestly one of the best I’ve ever seen, stylish, welcoming, and full of character. Nestled among the trees, the location feels peaceful and tucked away, making it a truly special spot. To top it all off, the manager was super nice, warm, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Can’t wait to go back! Thank you!

Beautiful place with lovely food. Service was amazing and the owner is fantastic. The only downfall of the evening was the older lady serving behind the bar. She was very rude and came across quite obnoxious towards my partner. He was paying contactless with her then abruptly asking, “can you not read? It says insert card!” He politely smiled and inserted card with her then being rude again. Apart from that, the evening was amazing. 10* 10* for food and other than the rudeness it was beautiful.

Whether you're in the mood for vegetarian options, children's meals, or an exquisite à la carte selection, there's something for everyone. The restaurant shines during special occasions like Christmas Day, offering a luxurious dining experience complete with festive dishes and a glass of Chapel Down bubbles to kick off your meal.
My friend and I went for a lovely stroll in Roundhay Park and stumbled upon this place, where we had a Sunday dinner. The beef was so tender, the Yorkshire puddings were huge, and the gravy was immense. The staff were super attentive, accommodating, and friendly. It’s a large, well-decorated pub with a great selection of drinks — the perfect balance between a proper pub and a gastropub, without losing its character

Went to The Deer Park for dinner and had such a great experience. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, and even though it was busy we were seated quickly and never felt rushed. Our food came out hot and full of flavour — generous portions too. Everything arrived in good time and the team checked in just enough without hovering. The atmosphere was relaxed but lively, and it just made for a really enjoyable evening. We’ll definitely be back.

His friendliness and professionalism created such a positive atmosphere, making the evening extra special. Rafi went above and beyond to make sure we were happy, and it truly showed how much he cares about his guests. A real credit to the restaurant—highly recommend asking for Rafi if you visit! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Having recently visited the Deer Park as one of a party of four people we were immediately impressed by the warm and welcoming environment. Prior to being seated at our table we had drinks in the bar area where we viewed the extensive menu. This catered for all tastes; meat, fish and vegetarian. When we were seated and the food arrived it proved to be of excellent quality cooked to perfection. Far better than your average pub food and very reasonably priced. Our waitress, Betsy, deserves special mention. Cheerful, efficient and attentive without being intrusive! Altogether a very enjoyable evening which will definitely be repeated.

We were a large group of 12 eating early Saturday evening. Not too busy and fairly quiet with mainly drinkers. Very attentive servers and great food. We were well looked after by Betsy (thanks for taking photos for us 😊) and another server, who I think were both new, but were great. Highly recommend the Deer Park.

Amazing service right from the get go - both from the waiters and supervisors, Betsy was fantastic. I came with my partner, we had a starter each and a Sunday roast, the food was divine, decent potion size too. Incredibly full now, the desserts sounded great but we were too full!! Would recommend, couldn’t fault the service or food!
Paige B — Google review
We popped in for the first time today, after looking for a good roast dinner. The food was amazing - the gravy and roast chicken were absolute highlights! The main reason for the review though was excellent service by Betsy. To say it was her second day, she was very professional and the definition of service with a smile. We let one of the other staff members know as we paid, but wanted to make sure it got back to her if possible!

Really nice pub! We have been to this pub a few times now and it is always really lovely! Food tastes amazing, I would recommend the Sunday lunch and the chocolate cake for after! We have also been for lunch before and had burgers, which were really nice too! Staff are always nice and friendly!

Got lucky on a Sunday afternoon to grab some food. The pub is a beautiful place that has worked hard to keep the history front and centre. Lots of little break out rooms with tables so it felt much more intimate than the exterior would suggest. Food was great. A very generous portion, I had beef which was medium rare as requested when they asked how I wanted it. My son had gammon from the kids menu which I wouldn't have been disappointed with as an adult option! The service was friendly, attentive and comfortable. Great food, looked like a good selection of drinks and a destination in itself with the history!

Went in yesterday for mother's day. Had the mushroom starters which were excellent. Steak ale pie with roast potatoes and vegetables and Malteser cheesecake. Others had gammon and lamb roasts. Everyone couldn't fault meals or service. Large servings the home made steak pie was to die for. At all times whether ordering drinks, or different courses of meals the service was efficient and friendly. Even though was very busy never had to wait for anything.

We recently visited the oldest pub in Leeds with its historic charm and mouthwatering food, whilst celebrating a family occasion. From the moment we entered, we were greeted with genuine smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. Amongst us was my elderly auntie, who is only able to get about in a wheelchair. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my aunt was comfortable and all her needs were met. They were all attentive and incredibly accommodating. The food was exceptional and presented beautifully. The chefs are clearly passionate about their work, taking care with every dish served. My family enjoyed the experience so much, we have re booked for June. It was a perfect day with a blend of heritage and high-quality dining. It was a fabulous experience. It is without doubt a must-visit venue, highly recommended. The Bingley Arms is a credit to the Landlord and Landlady. Thank you all for an amazing time Angie

Absolutely first class pub! I’m from Yorkshire now live in London, but have family equidistance from the Bingley Arms. Ryan and the team at the BA are the best! We’ve had 5 family meals here ranging from 6 people to 26! I think we’ve been in every room! Food is hearty, good value and hot! Drinks flow well! The history of this venue is incredible and the secret bar is intriguing! My only grumble is we can’t get in for Christmas! Booked up since April 😱

Three's A Crowd in Leeds is a modern British gastro pub that offers a relaxed dining experience with carefully curated cocktails and craft beers. The restaurant, known for its Michelin-recommended establishment in Harrogate, serves quality British food and homemade charcuterie. On Sundays from 12 to 7pm, guests can enjoy mouth-watering meals such as shoulder of Yorkshire lamb, rare breed porchetta, and native breed beef with all the trimmings.
In October we had our wedding reception at Three's a crowd Leeds. Straightway we had a great feeling about the place when we were looking for potential venues. Ahead of the big day all the staff were extremely welcoming towards us and our small children. Although we had a small wedding (20 guests) we had some quite specific requests for the day and they were really flexible with amending the menu and shaping the day around us. The wedding day went really smoothly; the food and the service was first class. This was down to great management by Scott and Darcy and plenty of reassurance from Sabrina, the events manager ahead of the day. We are looking forward to visiting again soon!
Natasha C — Google review
The restaurant was a bit cold and food overpriced. By the way, even if the portions were tiny, my cod cheeks was very tasty, my friend's fish and chips was tasty but very oily. We also had a bottle of red wine, the second least expensive 42£ (too much). Not for us to be honest
Luigi M — Google review
Food: went here to try the roast but was disappointed with the quality and quantity of roast sharing platter we ordered. The roasties and veg were barely roasted and the meat selection was quite tough to eat and not enough for 2 people to share sadly. Atmosphere: restaurant decor was good, gave off English bistro vibes which was pleasant Price: 25+~ which is a fair price for roasts but not for the quality and quantity of food provided in my opinion unfortunately Service: service was decent

Really great place for a chilled Sunday lunch. Interesting menu, decent wine list and portions are not tiny like some other places. Staff are very friendly and attentive too. Always enjoy visiting here
Ollie T — Google review
We came here after a civil ceremony in a large group of around 20 of us. The staff were friendly and attentive, with them serving drinks to all of us. The food was great, with the starters coming put promptly - the chicken lollipop tasting amazing. The fish and chips were fresh and tasted amazing. We had two issues, the first being that the timing of the food was delayed - in particular, the mains took a while to come out post starters . The second is that once seated, it felt like there were way too few waiting staff for the group size. All in all, a really lovely dining experience
Pavan M — Google review
Note: This review is for The Reliance, Three's a Crowd have effectively hijacked and renamed the old entry and instantly come onto the scene with a high rating, the following may not accurately reflect your experience with the new business and you should check the latest reviews. (I wish Three's a Crowd all the best, I just think they should have created a new entry) --------------------------- Incredibly friendly staff, great service and a top-notch Sunday roast. The lamb option was incredibly tasty, the nut roast packed with taste and not dry at all like some can be. Veg cooked perfectly and a good selection, optional cauliflower cheese well worth the investment. Kids enjoyed the fish and chips (chips very good!) and swapped out the peas for carrot from the roast menu. No specific kids menu but they are happy to make smaller versions of anything on the regular one. Fussy eaters might struggle with this so check in advance to prevent tears. Great selection of beers and other drinks, pleasant ambience and just an all round jolly nice place to visit. (being so close to Wen's worried me a little given their bizarre reaction to my review of the experience there but I escaped any retribution).
Michael — Google review
I recently visited this restaurant under the new owner and had a lobster feast. The lobster was impeccably cooked, and the cocktails were delightful. The starters were a bit basic, but the desserts were delicious. However, I did find the portions to be on the smaller side, and the prices were a little high. On the bright side, the customer service was excellent and quick. I also appreciated that the bar area was dog-friendly, which added a nice touch to the overall experience.
Chew C — Google review
— This review is for The Reliance — First time visiting here in years. Used to come here and get the gammon, egg and chips all the time but they stopped doing it and we almost forgot about it. Went for a Sunday lunch. Inside was nice and well spaced out. 100% honest review: I got the beef roast, it was a little cold and hard to cut unfortunately, but tasted nice. The potatoes could’ve been a little softer for me, and the gravy thicker. Greens and carrot lovely. Controversially I’m not the biggest fan of Yorkshire puds, it was nice but a little over done for me personally. My other party members let me sample their lamb and pork. Lamb was the my favourite, then pork, then beef. Enjoyed with a nice bottle of red wine, and table chips which were great. We liked our chocolate pot dessert, the apple cheesecake was nice, the tart a little small. Final point: I remember when I used to visit often the fish and chips would be unavailable, this time it was again. Chicken roast option would be much appreciated. Would definitely return.

Each visit offers a delightful surprise with their daily-changing selection of meats, including favorites like honey-roast ham, topside beef, and succulent leg of lamb. We booked a party in the function room here. When booking nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff we spoke to. On the day all the staff were lovely and the bar man worked his socks off! A great place, only thing that let it down slightly was soggy nachos on the buffet but everything else was fabulous!

We love this place! The breakfast is spot on. Great sausages and selection. Everything cooked really well and plenty available. The tandoori chicken pizza cooked by Danielle is amazing. Plenty of topping and HOT! The carvery is great too. I prefer the beef as find the other meets a bit dry but the choice of veg and other bits is great. Good price, quality and such friendly staff. The staff were kind, patient, and attentive without being overbearing. You could tell they really care about making sure guests have a good experience. Even though it was our first time, we felt right at home. We’re so glad we decided to give Barnbow a try. It’s always a bit of a gamble trying a new place, but this one truly delivered. The staff were friendly and very helpful with empty plates all round. We did pre order the food as recommended and everything went as planned. few commented that the beef and ale pie was crammed full of lovely meat (no grissle in sight)and all the desserts were huge. They have a large disabled toilet and a ramp for accessible entry at the front. The location is stunning with a large carpark.. Well done to all staff we had a fabulous time and will definately be back.

11 + dog had Sunday lunch on Fathers day, 7 adults and 4 children/teenagers. Because we had a dog we were seated in the Snug which was quite large and had plenty of room. I think the majority of us had a roast and a couple of the children had other items from the menu. All the food was good quality and plentiful and quite reasonable. The service was good even coping with a spillage which was a complete accident. I think we all enjoyed it and would consider going again.

Nestled on the banks of the River Aire and adjacent to the Leeds Liverpool canal, Kirkstall Bridge Inn is a beloved establishment in Leeds. The inn exudes old-school charm with its open fireplaces, flagstone floors, and vintage ale advertisements. Its beer garden is a major draw, offering idyllic riverside views and serving as an ideal spot to savor a pint of Kirkstall pale.
New to the area and had gone by on the bus a couple times, the beer garden always looked so inviting. So we booked in a Sunday roast - can do online or over the phone. Were originally booked in around 4, but were in the area earlier and decided to pop in and see if we could eat 2 hours earlier (annoying I know but we just wanted to see if there was space on the off chance). They were super understanding and accommodating. The food was amazing, came quickly and tasted amazing! The portions were huge!!! The staff were so lovely and attentive. Honestly couldn’t ask for more. After an amazing roast we had one more drink outside in the beer garden which was clean, beautifully put together and there were quite a few friendly dogs out there too, which is always lovely. Will be back!

Great pub, inside and out. The beer garden is the perfect place for a beer in summer. Cosy inside, with a variety of places from snugs to lively tables. The only thing that could improve it is some tweaks to the menu. If I'm honest, there's nothing I like on the menu currently. The pizza and loaded fries are both fine, but I find myself regretting trying other things.

Good lesson - if it’s not right, don’t just eat it and say nothing!! We ordered food around 3pm - and even though no one else was eating it took about 45 mins to arrive, and when it did it was cold. I had to raise this with the staff as I was not going to pay ~£18 for a cold burger. The Chef was amazing as were the front of house team. He came down to personally advise he was replacing the whole meal as the dumb waiter apparently gets stuck! So the message here is- if it’s taking longer than you think it should- ask as may be stuck between floors!!

10/10 the best roast in the world!!! Usually I'm not a fan but this was perfect. The Yorkshire pudding was more crispy instead of dense but who knew that was superior?!? Chicken was beyond amazing 😍🤤. Dessert was next level, just look at the pictures below 🔥🔥 The view of the stained glass looked angelic with the sunlight coming through 🌞🌞

First visit here this evening. Asked for a quiet table was put in a lovely wee side room . Not only was there a range of gluten free food that they specifically asked if it was for an intolerance or allergy, they were happy to customise other dishes as all made fresh. Food was amazing. Friendly helpful staff too. Only issue was we couldn't use the normally spacious car park was closed for an event and weren't aware but were able to park at a retail centre 5 mins walk away so no big disaster

Is this the best beer garden in Leeds? I'd say so! Excellent food, very good beer and friendly staff. This place is getting it bang right and hasn't priced itself out of the market for most of us whilst doing it. Well done! We will absolutely be back!

Nice old skool boozer in a convenient location. Loads of beers on tap, reasonable prices. Spacious beer garden. Not sure about the food as didn't eat but friends said the pizza was greasy.

Situated on the edge of Leeds city center, The Brunswick is a popular indie bar that offers a diverse range of experiences. Downstairs, ale enthusiasts can enjoy a selection of 15 keg and cask lines along with over 50 varieties of beer in the fridge. Meanwhile, the top floor serves as an art space that has hosted various events such as zine and print fairs, feminist readings, artist workshops, and society meetings.
A bit on the pricier side but this place def has one of the best burgers in Leeds. Great service too.

A really lovely place to visit with the most incredible staff. Connie in particular went out of their way to make sure our (large) party was accommodated and looked after. Food was tasty and 2 options for vegans was a welcome sight. Would recommend.

One of my favorite pubs and a place I'm glad to have as my local. Great food, great drinks, great people. Love it and I strongly recommend coming here for a roast anytime you're in Leeds.
Sal H — Google review
Heard great things about the Sunday roast so was excited to give it a try. Food arrived an hour after ordering which was disappointing, but was more surprised that the staff offered no explanation. Would not have been too disappointed if they would have explained they were busy or something along those lines but they just gave us our food as if it is normal to have customers wait an hour. On top of that, they added a service charge without asking after the mediocre service we received. Chicken and carrot was lovely but gravy was a bit weak and rest of roast was nothing special.

Great local independent bar. Had food + drinks after our wedding and everyone went above and beyond to help us. Excellent food and service.

If you're looking for a charming spot to celebrate Christmas Day, look no further than The Fox & Grapes. This delightful pub, adorned with rustic beams and an inviting atmosphere, sets the stage for a memorable holiday meal. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with sparkling wine and canapés before indulging in starters like mini baked Camembert.
Great local pub. Always two real ales on and well kept. Lovely beer garden round the back with plenty of seats. A regular spot for walkers as a bridle path next to the Pub. Also dogs welcome.

We have just had an early dinner here and cannot recommend it highly enough. The food was excellent, very high quality ingredients and presented beautifully. The menu is lovely, something for every taste. The service was first class, lovely staff who were very welcoming and helpful and very importantly looked happy in their work. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent food and service in a lovely pub and even better it’s just at the end of our road.

I've not eaten here but I've been in a few times recently and the atmosphere is really friendly, and the staff are all lovely. Just a really nice local country pub in a beautiful location. Definitely recommend.

Good pub food & a great atmosphere and some nice ales. Book if you can. Sunday Roasts can be recommended
Gary W — Google review
The most disappointing roast dinner I've ever had. Gravy from a powder, overcooked veggies, bland through and through. The only good thing about it was the meat, which was surprisingly spot on... however, coupled with the dirty interior and overall lack of cleanliness, it definitely does not deservea recommendation. First and last time here for sure.

Carvery

Breakfast restaurant
Toby Carvery Chapel Allerton is a classic family-friendly restaurant chain with multiple locations in Leeds. They offer an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet featuring a variety of options including eggs, bacon, and their famous breakfast Yorkies. The restaurant also serves roast meats carvery-style along with vegetarian options and unlimited steamed and roasted vegetables, Yorkshire puddings, mac and cheese, and roast potatoes. Customers have praised the fantastic service at this location, particularly highlighting the delicious food and generous portions.
Our family had the pleasure of enjoying a Sunday dinner at Toby Carvery Chapel Allerton, and it was an experience worth sharing! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and an inviting atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring that our meal was nothing short of excellent. The highlight, of course, was the delicious carvery selection. The meats were perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, complemented by an array of well-prepared sides. From golden, crispy roast potatoes to fluffy Yorkshire puddings and rich, hearty gravy, every bite felt like a comforting taste of home. Service was excellent throughout. Despite being a busy Sunday, the team worked efficiently, making sure everything ran smoothly without feeling rushed. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality made our meal even more enjoyable. Overall, Toby Carvery Chapel Allerton delivered a lovely dining experience for the whole family. Great food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere—what more could you ask for on a Sunday? We’ll definitely be back. Thanks to Dan, Emily and Ryan.

We had a lunchtime sitting on Saturday 20th December. Despite being busy, the service from Ross C was very good and friendly. Food was hot and well cooked. Good festive atmosphere.
Raimondo R — Google review
It was bloody lovely, Katie was absolutely incredible, asked about our food, gave us time for our drinks, waited patiently for all 5 of us to think and order, and was incredibly friendly all day. We loved her and would love to be served by her next time. The food was delicious however there wasn’t a variety of options for sides as usual, not to mention one of the sides was quite cold under the heaters. The atmosphere was great although i have to say it lacked in space. Other than that, we loved it. Thank you very much once again to Katie and the manager on duty Richard.

had a very pleasant experience at the restaurant. The overall service and atmosphere were both very comfortable and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the manager, Ross, who made us feel at home. Our server, Paul, provided excellent service throughout the meal—he frequently checked in to make sure everything was to our liking and that we were enjoying our food. Truly appreciated!
Chim T — Google review
The food at this particular Toby Carvery was great. The company i had during our meal also agreed. The service from Katie was great, she only came to the table once to ask us how the food was, and that was enough. Very friendly spoken. The Carver who on shift, Ross W accommodated to change the meat as it was dry and i appreciate that. As this made the meal much more tastfull. As for the atmosphere, the place is very calm. The seating arrangements could of been more thought out. As we had our meal around 3pm, the place had plenty of room for new comers to sit and enjoy themselves, but somehow ended up being cramped up. I would advise not to take the first seating option they provide, instead tell them what you prefer and hopefully they can provide.

Toby Carvery Harrogate road Leeds West Yorks Neil GM I have been coming to the Queens for many many years. As a former non-executive director, CEO and independent chair for AUAG I believe I’m well qualified to say the service and warmth that I receive at the Queens is exemplary. Manager always greets you warmly, it’s so professional and so diligent I cannot say any more than five star plus Customer Services. It is very important when regulars come to a pub, they have felt to be treated with respect and kindness from Neil. I find the quality of food excellent warm pot and the staff are always keen to please you with a can-do approach. I really appreciate quality staff and team leadership shown by Neil in all he does, excellent customer conduct and above all being welcome to a local pub that I’ve spent over 25 years. I highly recommend this place on the base excellent service and the goodwill I always get from the Queen. Having, undertaken previously the NHS assurance and customer surveys, changes in services , custom experience, for the council extending to the social caare and transport engagement , I am firmly aware of how staff should be - at the NHS as a board member leader and voluntary sector CEO it gives me a great pleasure in knowing quality stuff to exist in the current climate we live in seeing and observing this. Jean Paul is always smiling and excellent addition to the team. Thanks Kind regards J

Carvery
Breakfast restaurant
British restaurant
Toby Carvery Leeds is a popular family-friendly restaurant known for its classic carvery-style roast meats, kids' menus, and traditional desserts. With multiple locations in Leeds, it's a go-to spot for satisfying Sunday cravings. While the breakfast buffet offers good value for money with a variety of options, some guests found certain items like black pudding and coffee to be disappointing. Despite occasional cleanliness issues in the buffet area, the hot food received positive feedback.
Myself and my wife took advantage of the £6 pensioners offer. The food was great, the two meats we had ( Beef& Turkey) were cooked to perfection. Our server (Logan) was very efficient, polite and just a nice young man who couldn't have looked after us any better. It was a pleasant atmosphere and a very nice experience all round. Our meal and drinks came to a very reasonable £21 which is excellent value. We'll definitely be back even when the offers are not on.

What an experience! Served by the GOAT Ed and he was brilliant and answered to all of our requests. Food was just right and I enjoyed everything. Decent price, but there was a lot of noise and the music was a bit too loud. Overall, very good service and a pleasant experience.

We came about 6 pm so near the end of dinner. The meat was looking a bit rough, as well as the sides, but overall the taste was fine. We used the sign up discount & felt okay about the price. All of the staff were lovely!

Incredible quality food today despite being so very busy. Fresh and tasty veg and tender beef and pork. Upgraded to the large carvery as we like to have a good portion of protein and lots of fresh veg. It was well worth the extra £2.

"The Red Lion" is a charming village pub with excellent traditional food and a welcoming atmosphere. Visitors praise the fresh, high-quality Sunday lunch and the friendly staff. The covered outdoor seating area provides a pleasant setting to enjoy the honest-priced, delicious meals. While some found certain dishes overly salty or overcooked, many appreciate it as a great rest point during walks in the area.
A lovely village pub. The staff were super helpful and very amenable with my adult brother who has additional needs. They were flexible with the menu and took time to explain the darts scoring. The food was really nice and you could absolutely tell it wasn’t part of a chain because the portion size was generous and very filling. I really liked that you could swap chips for healthier new potatoes if desired. Lovely evening, thank you 🤩

A great 'typical' village pub with great food and excellent outside (covered) seating area. Website and reviews don't do it justice. Visit for yourself. Good traditional food at an honest price. Want cheaper- go elsewhere but expect poor quality, here you you get great staff, good food and an excellent choice of 🍺 beer. Video added of the village outskirts towards Whinmoor and a second of the beer garden.

Came in after a hike with my dog. Had a some food before heading home. The staff were lovely, the lady behind the bar got me water for my dog. The young lad that brought my condiments out got me a very nice spicy sauce. The beef dripping chips are a must have by the way 🤌

The red lion has been our local for several years. We've regularly been for food and evening events throughout that time and have always had great experiences. Last night me and my fiance held our engagement party there and it was simply perfect. We hired the main restaurant room as the venue, which we were able to decorate in advance of the night. The food that was provided for our guests went down really well and the feedback was very positive. On top of our party, the team still managed to run a successful evening of drinks and meals to the public outside in their lovely beer garden without a hitch. Finally, I just want to say a specific thank you to Kirsty and Richard the landlords/owners. They're fantastic at what they do and are simply lovely people. They took great care of some of our more elderly guests and made efforts to talk with many others at the bar and throughout the room, making everyone feel welcome. Great job red lion team and thanks again!

For a while we really wanted to try the food in this place. We went other day . Kids food was fine but May partners hamburger and chips were smelling fish which she doesn’t like the fish smell. Also I had steak which comes with chips. My chips smelled fish too , even I could find fish bites in it. When I am having steak I really want meat taste rather than fish. The man we assumed he was the owner kindly came to us and asked if we are happy. When we explained the taste of fish. He became aggressive and denied the problem and rudely walked away. We won’t go back again.

It's alright. The roast was ok. Selection of beer isn't great. The staff are brilliant and it's cheap. Had the food been a bit better it would have got 5 stars, had it been more expensive it would have got 3. It's great at what it does.

Lovely quaint pub, food was delicious and staff was kind. Love meeting family here and having a good old matter! I like the choice of being able to buy a small portion or a larger portion, dessert are delicious too. Reasonable prices I will be returning.
Ashleigh T — Google review
Had a nice time here as a rest point on our walk. I ordered gammon egg and pineapple, it was nice but the meat portion was too big and the gammon was insanely salty, needed soaking. The chips were lovely chip shop style. My partner ordered steak and chips and the steak wasn’t the best but okay, the peppercorn sauce was not good. Ordered side veggies and they were over cooked. Overall had a nice time.

Went in on a quiet Saturday afternoon for a one drink and ended up staying for a lot more. The history and heritage combined with the selection of alcohol was great and the managers were fantastic. Annoyed that i don't live closer to this gem but grateful too else I'd be there way too often.
Tarik J — Google review
Nice and friendly pub! It's not too big inside as one of the rooms is just a pool table so if someone is playing pool you can't really sit there. The outside area is really large with lots of seating so perfect in the summer. The best part about it is the drinks are really cheep! The toilets need some TLC only 1 toilet in the ladies was acceptable to use the other toilet was broken so with the pub being busy there was a long wait to go to the toilet!

Nestled in the picturesque North Leeds suburbs, High Farm is a delightful pub that exudes a warm country charm. Renowned for its exceptional Sunday carvery, diners can indulge in top-quality meats sourced from local suppliers, including succulent pork with crispy crackling, perfectly pink beef, and tender lamb. Accompanying these mouthwatering dishes are their signature buttery mash, goose-fat roast potatoes, and an impressive array of fresh vegetables.
We went to an excellent carvery on the Sunday. Superb value. There wad a choice of three meats. Vegetarian sausages available, too. The food was wonderful. There was lots of stalls selling locally made items on the day we went, which I believe happens once a month. Staff were very friendly and we enjoyed the atmosphere. We were were not drinking alcohol, so can't comment on that, but there was a good choice of no-alcohol beers. We liked that there were activities for children, and the gardens around the pub were available, too. It's a really lovely looking pub. Toilets very clean. There was plenty of parking. We really hope to go back soon.

Went for Leeds match only half the people wishing to watch went else where it was so expensive to get a packet of crisps for my daughter 1.55 or around a little highly priced for a place that needs investment for locals it is a dying trend look to my views from a London pub where they didn't sell food if they had I would have eaten in the white heart. Although highfarm is nice surroundings no place to be if no body visits no atmosphere. So didn't try the food and I'll leave that place for future thoughts. Give me a pub and I'll make it the best in this city if it was serving my food.
