Leeds City Museum is a captivating destination that offers an immersive journey through the history of Leeds. With its diverse collection spanning natural science, archaeology, heritage, and ancient history, the museum provides a comprehensive look into the city's past. One of its highlights is the Life on Earth gallery, housing an impressive 800,000 specimens. Notably, the museum's iconic tiger exhibit has become a beloved symbol of Leeds' heritage.
Super wonderful! Loved the exhibits - made me excited about Leeds. Wonderful having the thoughts of the visitors through the exhibits. And dress up boxes for the kids! And I had a lovely time sketching at the Sunday Artifacts workshop - fab low pressure art session with great materials and friendly staff.

Leeds City Museum is a standout cultural gem in the heart of the city free to enter, rich in variety, family-oriented, and deeply rooted in local heritage. Its strengths shine in accessibility, architecture, and interactive appeal. While a refresh in certain exhibits and smoother layout flow could elevate the experience, it remains a top choice for locals and visitors alike.

👍 What’s Great About Leeds City Museum 1. Free entry / Affordable It's currently free to enter, which is a big plus. There’s talk of introducing a “pay-as-you-feel” in future, but so far it remains free. 2. Variety of exhibits A mix of natural history (“Life on Earth” gallery), local history (Leeds Story), and world cultures. Two of the most notable pieces are: The Leeds Tiger (a taxidermy tiger) — a bit iconic locally. Nesyamun, the Egyptian mummy — interesting if you like ancient Egypt. 3. Family friendly The museum has won awards (e.g. the Kids in Museums Family Friendly Museum Award in 2018) for being welcoming to families and children. There are activities aimed at younger visitors. 4. Good location & infrastructure It's centrally located in Leeds (Millennium Square) — accessible by public transport. The building has ramp/step access, lifts, a café etc. Clean toilets, decent café are often mentioned. 5. Engagement & social/economic impact The museums (including this one) are well used: high visitor numbers, lots of school groups, strong public value. They contribute significantly to the local economy. 🔬 What to Expect & Tips Before You Visit Give yourself ~1 to 2 hours depending on how deeply you like to explore. If you go slower or read a lot, you might stay longer. Wear comfortable shoes; there’s a bit of walking, stairs / lifts. Go during quieter times (weekday mornings) if you prefer less noise / fewer crowds. Bring a camera if you like, but be ready for some glare or dim lighting in places. If you have mobility needs, check in advance about access routes (which entrances are most accessible, etc.). --- 🎯 Verdict Leeds City Museum is a solid choice for a casual, interesting museum visit. It’s great value (free entrance), has a mix of content (local history + natural history + global culture), and is especially good for families and tourists. If you're expecting a super modern museum with flawless interactive tech or beautifully curated blockbuster exhibits, you might be a bit disappointed in parts. But for what it is — a city museum providing lots of variety — it's worthwhile.
XCNG S — Google review
This hidden gem, exceeded our expectations. The area outside is remarkable. Upon entering there was a lovely lady greeting us, more than happy to explain our tour around the museum. I’m guessing she had been stood there all day, but still so happy , showing great passion for her place of work. And rightly so once we made our way round, the place it was exceptional. We are museum geeks, visiting many. This was one of the best. The first floor with the animals, was lovely to see them inside glass protection. You could do a 180 to see all angles, get a real feel of there beauty. There was lots of interaction areas for younger children, my daughter is 12 still enjoyed this experience. As you climb the stairs/floors there was so many wonderful interest different topics. It was a really enjoyable experience, we went as a family , we all enjoyed it. You could easily spend a couple of hours taking in all the marvels. It truly was a surprise inside, do pay this museum a visit. It is tidy, clean & orderly. Definitely one of the best we have visited. No tickets or payment for entrance, donations can be made. Which we did, More than happy to support wonderful places like this .

A lovely way to spend an hour or even more depending on how much you love the history of Leeds and some even older, like Roman, Greek and Egyptian artifacts. There are three full floors of exhibits and displays and things of interest scattered about ( not really scattered but placed ,) for your viewing pleasure. Loads of families were here when I visited as a solo adult. There's free wifi, toilets, a lift, a cafe and a gift shop. Donations appreciated of course. The staff are very nice and friendly and will point you in the direction or give you most any info you are looking for. Enjoy your visit !
Elk H — Google review
Loved it. Came here during half term with my children and they were captivated and interested in everything they saw. Could’ve spent a lot longer there if I was on my own.
Gabriel O — Google review
Really nice museum, we entered and a lovely volunteer guided us towards everything (you can also get a map). Four floors of exhibits and you can spend as much time as you want here. Also has a gift shop on second floor, a lift that provides accessibility, and a cafe on the ground floor. Also enjoyed the history of miffy exhibit and the mummy.
Aromal N — Google review
Visited for the Miffy exhibition which was small but cute and got the added bonus of the natural history area downstairs which was my favourite, a few other floors of things to see too and a nice gift shop. The staff in the cafe were very friendly, this was my first visit but I'll look forward to going again!

Tropical World, located in Roundhay Park at the heart of Leeds City Centre, is a popular family attraction boasting the second largest collection of tropical plants in the UK after Kew Gardens. With over a million visitors annually, it offers an array of experiences for all ages. Visitors can explore greenhouses housing diverse tropical plant species and encounter various animals such as meerkats, lizards, mice, snakes, piranhas, crocodiles, butterflies, birds and bats.
What a little gem! I didn't know this place existed until I was googling things to do. I took my 2 children aged 9 & 2 and they both had the most amazing day, as did I. The tropical house has so much to see and is far bigger than I ever expected. The only negative I have to mention is a lot of the glass in the tanks is quite dirty so it can be hard to see the fish but I imagine this isn't an easy job to clean. This aside, we loved everything about it and will definitely be back. The price is brilliant and even better if you have a max card, 1 adult goes free and under 3's are free too! We ate in the cafe and food was freshly prepared and tasty, price wise I don't think it was too bad for what you got. Lots of space to eat and you can enjoy your own food in the outside picnic area! We will definitely visit again.
Jade S — Google review
It's a nice, reasonably priced day out for the kids with a wide variety of different animals from around the world that are well treated and seem happy and some of the birds come right up close. Just a few empty areas/ displays and only a few butterflies when we were there - but for the price and being council run it was good. Cafe drinks not overly priced either for a change!
Ben H — Google review
Really lovely place to visit! Bigger than I thought it would be (and than it looked when we first entered). Lots to see, especially good for children, and a good mix of species. Some areas are sloped and are hard to navigate with a manual wheelchair but almost all areas are wide enough to pass through easily and visibility of the animals was good in most areas from a seated position. Would be helpful to have clearer guides/signs along the way for those with visual impairment (route directions, entry & exit signs between the different areas, high contrast on level changes). Café was nice; good variety of food at good prices, plenty of space around tables and lovely outdoor seating (two areas, one overlooking gardens). Would recommend
Samantha K — Google review
It's a walk through basically, good for an hour or two plus lunch at the modest café. Not a bad place to take older children. The only slight bugbear is it doesn't have its own car park, though in October street parking nearby wasn't a problem.
Michael ( — Google review
Tickets are a really good price, especially if you have a few kids. Animals were healthy and looked well looked after. Some animals were in hiding and either weren't in their enclosures or have verrrrry good camouflage - butterflies were beautiful but very sparse (more to do with the season I think), a lot of the birds on the information boards and small reptiles in tanks didn't seem to be there. That being said there was still plenty to see and watch. Took about an hour to go round.
Hayley H — Google review
Visited Tropical World in Leeds and had such a lovely time! It’s like stepping into a warm, exotic jungle right in the middle of Yorkshire. From colourful butterflies fluttering around to cheeky meerkats and fascinating reptiles, there’s something to catch your eye at every turn. The rainforest atmosphere is so calming, and the tropical plants and waterfalls make it feel like a true escape. It's not a huge place, but there's plenty to see, especially for kids and families. My favourite part was the butterfly house – so beautiful and peaceful! There’s also a little café and shop at the end which is great for a quick break. It's perfect for a rainy day or a quiet afternoon outing. A great spot for all ages, and definitely worth a visit if you're in Leeds!
Himashi M — Google review
The animals are well cared for but there isn’t really that much to see in the grand scheme of things. I think we only saw like 4 butterflies and each enclosure has one or two animals at best (on average, some have more) There are a lot of kids screaming and shouting so I’d avoid going on a weekend if you want to properly have a look.
Luke — Google review
Great place to visit on a low budget for the family, for how cheap this place is to visit it is probably one of the best days out we have had. Very easy to find plenty of local parking, a great gardens and park over the road too. Would definitely recommend and will definitely visit again

The Royal Armouries Museum is a captivating destination that showcases the rich history of arms and armor in a modern setting. Nestled on a revitalized 13-acre dockland site just 15 minutes from the city center, this National Museum boasts an impressive collection that dates back to the reign of Elizabeth I.
Absolutely fabulous museum, so much to do and see. So much history in this museum, with live reenactments that help children understand how it may have been in the past. Huge displays! The stairwell was epic-with swords, pikes, spears and armour. Interactive displays. Even an full sized armoured elephant and horses! A fun photo op as you enter, a chance to take your picture with a dragon, holding on to a sword as if to slay it. We plan to visit the museum again when we can take more time over the exhibits and enjoy their other live performances.
Diff-Ability C — Google review
I’ve been to many museums around the world, and this is definitely one of the best. The collection is astounding and there’s so much to see, you’ll need a whole day to do it justice. It’s great for all ages and you don’t need to have a particular interest in armies or weapons to enjoy your visit. The displays are beautifully arranged. The museum is free to enter and there are multiple free shows for kids and adults alike to enjoy throughout the day. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Leeds.
PoeticallyEmo — Google review
Fantastic day out. Loads to see and interact with. The historic role plays are very informative. A well stocked shop has plenty of items for all ages. If you fancy a snack and drink then the cafe has it all. There is a car park very close.
Jim L — Google review
A good museum with a lot of mostly ancient and medieval arms and armour on display - best of all it's free! Took the grandkids on a half-term Saturday. A modern multi- floor building but quite difficult to find your way around (no paper maps available). Exhibits were sometimes in odd places making it easy to miss things. No clear timeline in most cases. Lots of free talks and demonstrations through the day (plus a section you had to buy a ticket for and one talk you had to pre-book). Pretty much all of the exhibits are in glass display cases which makes them very difficult to photograph due to reflections. Some are poorly lit and I found some items did not have placards leaving them a bit of a mystery. Ate in the restaurant - great food and reasonable prices, but inadequate seating and slow service, however, the museum was very busy so partly to be expected I suppose. Overall well worth a visit - I'll be back I'm sure!
Howard F — Google review
I’ve been visiting the Royal Armouries in Leeds since I was a child, and it remains a timeless experience. Some of the exhibits are clearly veterans of many years, but they add to the charm of returning time and again. It’s a brilliant place for kids – the interactive displays bring history to life across different time periods without being frightening or sensationalised. One of the highlights, as always, is the magnificent elephant in its suit of armour – though I still don’t know how they manage to get it to stand so patiently all day while visitors admire it! My favourite exhibit was a temporary film and TV exhibit in 2008 which I visited with my high school history class and was able to view arms and armour from the critically acclaimed Lord of the Rings and Narnia feature films. On this visit, we enjoyed the temporary Roman Gladiator exhibition, which was well worth the small entry fee (the main museum remains free). A special mention to the kind lady at the desk who offered concession entry for NHS/Blue Light card holders – much appreciated. The museum could benefit from clearer signage, as it’s quite easy to lose oneself in the vast collection. I was a little bemused to find Steven Gerrard among the Tudor plate armour, but equally delighted to see Princess Diana represented in the peace exhibit – a thoughtful touch. The visit finished, as always, with a trip through the extensive and tempting gift shop. Overall, the Royal Armouries is a wonderful museum, full of history, surprises, and memories – well worth visiting, whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth.
Sam G — Google review
Have been here many times many years ago and the area around the Armouries has changed so much situated in a square sureounded by cafe and restraunts. The cafe in the Armouries had a great breakfast deal viewing of docks. The shop has great gifts too. We visited the gladiator exhibition at a small extra cost .orginal artifacts from rome & pompeii amazing to see exemplary orginals. The show was great too depicting gladiator in training The rest of the Armouries hasn't changed and still has amazing displays through out. It's still free to visit. The nearest carpark is a multi -story pay and display nearly. There are only 3 disabled spaces near coach park . You can borrow wheelchairs on site and they have four lifts .
Dawn W — Google review
When you think about it, this is five floors of various ways the human species have found to kill each other which after recent events in America feels a bit grim witnessing. However, this is history and the displays, layout and experience are exceptional. Especially given that it is free to enter the main museum and you just have to pay for the special exhibits. We went to see the Gladiator display and saw a couple of the talks on ww2 which were very interesting. Its definitely worth going to see whilst you're in Leeds.
David S — Google review
The Royal Armouries in Leeds is a fascinating place to visit, packed with exhibits that take you back through history. There’s so much to see and learn—it can easily take a few hours to explore properly. Throughout the day, there are live shows and demonstrations which are not only educational but also fun, with audience participation that really brings the experience to life. It’s an engaging place for all ages, and my son particularly enjoyed it. It’s a great day out for families, offering insight into the history and cultures of different parts of the world. One downside is the café, which is on the pricey side. You might be better off walking down the road to find something more affordable to eat. Overall, a memorable and educational trip that’s well worth the visit.

Temple Newsam is a magnificent historic mansion located just southeast of Leeds city center, surrounded by lush parkland and a working farm. This grand residence boasts an impressive collection of priceless art and antiques, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the area. Visitors can explore beautifully landscaped grounds designed by Capability Brown in the 18th century, as well as formal parterre gardens that add to its charm.
Beautiful flowers in the walled garden at Temple Newsam! The greenhouse is currently closed for refurbishment, however there's lots of vibrant colours on display in the gardens. Enjoyed the daily special in the tearoom for £6.99, which was a southern fried chicken salad with sweet chilli sauce. They also serve a good range of sandwiches, jacket potatoes and cakes. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors in the courtyard. Always a nice place to wander around for an hour or two!

My favourite park. I live not far. Great place for a walk, cycling and running and many other events. Beautiful view around. Little lakes and garden. Massive space for walkers or people who do sports. House is great too. Farm _ great for kids and children. I just love it each time of the year.
Anna L — Google review
Super enjoyed the visit , fantastic insight on how the very wealthy lived in this wonderful mansion. The influence they would have had when Great Britain was building its empire around the world. Definitely worth a visit 👍🏻
Malcolm P — Google review
Four out of five stars because on the whole, the house and Home Farm are brilliant. Good value for money also. The house is as fine and authentic as any grand Elizabethan house that you can imagine. Well preserved and looked after, steeped in history and a real maze of corridors, rooms, staircases and more. The staff have beautifuly dressed it with a Halloween theme throughout and all are super friendly individuals. The farm also is staffed by a real good bunch and the farm is easy to get around and explore. The cobbles however may prove difficult for some but in truth aren't that bad and add to the original character of the farm. The landscape also makes for aesthetic viewing and walking, a real Capability Brown piece. The let down is that whilst the house and farm is payable, albeit good value, the wider estate is free access and whilst that is a benefit to most, you had the same old few who like to destroy or degrade all that is beautiful by rising off road bikes through the estate. Plenty of playgrounds for the young ones and parking is affordable (£4 for 12 hours). A treasure that we need to preserve for future generations and a great day out.
Richard P — Google review
Our first time here and what a lovely place to visit. Only £2.50 to park for upto 4 hrs. We didn't go in the house or farm because we had our dog with us. We walked around the estate and had some lovely food in the cafe. Looking forward to going back and visiting the house in the near future.
Peter S — Google review
Marvelous park and surrounding areas. Extra payment for house and farm entrance. Cafe fairly expensive. About £16 for 3 coffee ☕ and 2 "sausage" rolls. Ordered sausage rolls and these were the worst sausage rolls ever. Not a sign of anything like sausage. And lacking any taste. Will go again. Will use cafe. Will not eat. Would have been 5***** except for that
John H — Google review
Large well kept grounds with lots of wide paths. Free motorised disabled transport. Nice walled garden. Very peaceful

Nature & Parks
Roundhay Park is a stunning expanse of nature nestled in Leeds, drawing nearly a million visitors annually. This expansive parkland boasts beautiful gardens, serene lakes, and winding walking trails that invite exploration. Families can enjoy two playgrounds and various sports fields, making it an ideal spot for outdoor activities. The park is also known for hosting vibrant festivals and open-air concerts throughout the year, adding to its lively atmosphere.
Roundhay Park is absolutely brilliant – one of the best city parks I’ve ever visited. It’s massive, beautifully maintained, and has something for everyone. The lakes, woodlands, and wide open green spaces make it perfect for walks, picnics, or just relaxing outdoors. We spent a good few hours wandering around and still didn’t see it all. The walk around Waterloo Lake was especially lovely, with ducks and swans, and loads of scenic spots to stop and take in the view. The Tropical World nearby is also well worth a visit if you’ve got kids or just fancy something a bit different. Great facilities too – plenty of parking, clean toilets, and cafes dotted around for a coffee or snack. Whether you’re local or just visiting Leeds, Roundhay Park is a must-see. A proper breath of fresh air right on the city’s doorstep.
Subhashi J — Google review
Roundhay Park is a beautiful green space at the heart of the community. The park has something for everyone – from wide open areas to relax, to fun attractions like the land train ride and play parks for children. The lake is perfect for a stroll, and feeding the ducks is always a favourite. There’s a lovely café overlooking the water, and you’ll often find an ice cream van nearby on sunny days. The park also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including fairs and food festivals, which make every visit feel different and exciting. A vibrant and welcoming place
Shauna L — Google review
Nice area with cafes, walks, cricket pitch and a land train. Area was really clean (almost no litter) and the paths were fairly good; more than good enough for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Also the Monet Garden and HESCO garden which were lovely too.
Samantha K — Google review
Roundhay Park is such a nice place to spend a few hours. It’s really big, with lakes, open fields, and plenty of walking paths. There are always people out with their dogs or having picnics, but it still feels calm and peaceful. You can get some great views around the park too. It’s one of those spots that just makes you feel relaxed and glad to be outside

It was very fantastic yesterday afternoon and I enjoyed it a lot with my only brother and husband. There is a nice view of the lake area. A nice arrangement for sitting is also a perfect picnic spot with a picture perfect environment.we are delighted specially me because I always ask my husband for the "Ice-cream " they sell at the park yesterday its perfect timing and took two on my both hand like my childhood then went back to my childhood days....itsssss a Marvelous day out....thanks to park authority.... Going very soon there.. 😊

It’s my favourite place to visit in Leeds. The most beautiful and spacious park in the city with great views and landscapes especially round the lakes. You can enjoy walking, cycling, hiking or just relaxing having your tea or coffee near the lake. It’s the best place for picnic although it doesn’t have enough restrooms for visitors.
Mohammad H — Google review
A fabulous huge open space free to visit. Although LCC have now imposed car parking charges which isn’t ideal. Disabled parking is free. 2 beautiful lakes, loads of walks. Wonderful band stand. Boathouse cafe and coffee shop at the bottom. Mansion house tea rooms at the top.

I have wandered through Roundhay Park in Leeds, where winding paths invite quiet walks and nature whispers through rustling leaves and birdsong. I still remember sitting by the lake one quiet afternoon, the sun casting golden ripples on the water, lost in thought as time seemed to slow. Beneath towering trees and open skies, peace lingers like a gentle breeze. It’s a place I’d warmly recommend to locals seeking a breath of calm and to visitors hoping to feel the quiet soul of Yorkshire.

Nestled in the picturesque Kirkstall district, Abbey House Museum offers a delightful glimpse into 19th-century life in Leeds. Just a short drive from the city center, this family-friendly destination is housed within an impressive Cistercian structure dating back to the 12th century. Visitors can explore the stunning remnants of the church, including its narrow choir and towering architecture, alongside well-preserved areas like the chapterhouse and kitchen.
This museum is fantastic. Downstairs they've built a Victorian street with shops you can wander around, with so many little details to see. There's a dress up shop, too! Upstairs, there are several galleries with old toys and even old game machines that you can play with old pennies, so bring some coins to exchange! Lots of fun, so much hands on stuff, several play areas for children, overall a brilliant museum well worth the small entry price.

A proper back in time place, lovely staff, knowledgable and polite, so do ask them a question! Was very quiet for a weekday visit. Bliss! Loads to see and explore. Free parking opposite. (Purposely only put 4 pictures, i don’t want to spoil your visit!)

Really loved this unique musuem. It gave gave a flavour of Victorian life in Leeds. Lots of hands on ooportunities and when we were there a really good toy exhibition. The staff are very welcoming and enthusiastic about the history of the items.

such a cute little (well actually it’s bigger than we thought) museum. the medieval street is absolutely fantastic (and yes you can go inside the stores!), annnnd the best part - you can dress up! we had so much fun! Lots of unique item & toy selections, it seriously blow our mind! definitely take some coins! I don’t want to give anything away, just make sure you pay them a visit. we visited over easter & they even had a bunny trail for little ones. staff is super engaged & patient (especially with people dressing up)!

Not into boring museums but this one was quite quirky and unique. A little street with dressed-up windows and little rooms you can get into. £14 for adult and 2 kids over 5.

Entry price of £7.15/adult is reasonable. Free parking in the space opposite the museum. Good selection of exhibits showing history through the ages. Good cobbled street area with shops and pub etc. Good collection of toys. Well laid out exhibits and displays. Lots of reminders from childhood.

This is a lovely museum. I love the Victorian street. So much attention to detail. You really feel as though you've been transported back in time. The upstairs area is very nostalgic, looking at toys and play throughout time. We always enjoy using the old slot machines. The museum is in a great location too, just across the road from Kirkstall Abbey. We always visit both.

Leeds Art Gallery is a must-visit destination in the city, offering a vast collection of 20th-century art and engaging mixed media displays. Visitors can also participate in crafts workshops and unwind at the on-site cafe. The gallery is part of the vibrant cultural scene in Leeds, where traditional art galleries like Henry Moore Institute coexist with impressive street art. Additionally, the city boasts numerous artists' studios housed in historic buildings such as Sunny Bank Mills.
Fantastic experience! There were so many amazing exhibitions to explore, each offering something unique and thought-provoking. We really enjoyed taking our time browsing the art gallery, admiring the diverse range of artwork on display. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, happy to share insights and discuss the exhibitions in detail, which made the visit even more engaging. The atmosphere was welcoming, and it was clear that a lot of care and effort goes into curating the space. We had a great time and would highly recommend a visit to anyone who appreciates art and culture! Best of all it's free! 😃

Beautiful gallery …. We were a day too early for the Moore exhibition… no charge to enter. Lovely coffee shop and souvenir store. We strolled around the multiple levels and enjoyed the exhibitions. Definitely worth going in to see the variety of different types of art.

Great place to visit. There were lots of exciting and amazing diverse art exhibitions around the place that you would enjoy. There were free entry and no que on the weekday I visited. It is closed on Monday and public holiday; open Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday 11am to 3pm. No food, drinks or videoing is allowed inside the place. Most of the pictures I got were outside the building. The atmosphere were great and conducive; and the staff were friendly, happy, helpful and knowledgeable. Wonderful experience.

Great collection some wonderful modern British artists. Nash, Nicholson, Hepworth. On two floors. Free but I donated £5. Friendly staff. Also contains the Henry Moore Institute.
Ben H — Google review
Quite a large collection of art. The best part is the fine arts room downstairs, just a few steps into the gallerys main entrance. If you trouble yourself upstairs, you will find a few more small rooms with more niche art. There are many interesting pieces there.

Beautiful museum of art. Various arts shown there and invite to escape the daily stress for a while. Entry is free but donations are welcomed.

A fine gallery with a good range of gallery sizes displaying a wide and varied collection. It hosts many good temporary exhibitions during the year. Free entry.

Impressive Art Gallery for a Medium City I had the privilege to enter an exclusive city art gallery during or UK visit from Canada (Aug 2024). I've seen other major art galleries in major cities and I've to say I was quite impressive. I could not see all the exhibits since we only arrived 15-min before closing. Staff alerted us they'd be closing soon but were kind enough to tell us which part was worth seeing for the amount of time we had. Next time when I visit Leeds I'll certainly come here earlier.

Nestled just a stone's throw from the bustling heart of Leeds, Meanwood Valley Urban Farm is a delightful sanctuary for nature lovers and photographers alike. Spanning 24 acres, this charming farm offers an idyllic retreat where visitors can immerse themselves in the beauty of rural landscapes and capture stunning images of diverse wildlife. With its array of friendly animals—ranging from goats and sheep to chickens and ducks—it's a perfect spot for those keen on animal photography.
Really lovely place to visit. We have been twice now and its a heartwarming place full of lots of cute animals. This time we finally got to see the donkeys and they were sweet and friendly ! It was £3 per person which is a very fair price and it's a quiet place with a great community and a real essence of family within caring for the animals. One of our favourite places is the birdwatching area which is small but so full of life. On top of the animals listed such as goats, donkeys, alpacas and sheep, there is more to see within the wild. This time won't certainly be our last, and we've loved it every time we've come here :)

Small, cute farm. Staff I interacted with in the cafe were lovely, beautiful food. Cycled there, walked around the farm, and then went to check out the bike trail. However, may be my terrible map/sign using skills, but it wasn't too clear where I could cycle there to me. Of course, it could've been obvious and gone over my head. Went alone but saw children really enjoyed it. Chickens, goats, etc, had a fun time.
Katie M — Google review
Beautiful place just a short bus ride away from the University of Leeds. We didn't see a lot of animals, but I would still say it's worth a visit because the entrance fee is reasonable and the environment was very peaceful. Cafe food was nice as well.
Jedidiah O — Google review
A little disappointing, but I managed to pet one of the sheep. It wanted a massage, so I obliged. That said there wasn’t much else to see. Cows and alpacas were far away. Goats just laid on cement and you couldn’t get close. No feeding of animals allowed.

A small farm with a reasonable entrance fee. There are different animals such as chickens, goats, alpacas, rabbits, and guinea pigs. A beautiful and peaceful place where you can relax and enjoy your time.

Visited on 6th September with my daughter and four children ranging from 2 to 9yrs old and we spent five hours there as the kids were having a fantastic time. We had lunch in the cafe and the food and drinks were great, especially the coffee. We walked and talked around every inch of the farm, the staff were lovely and very informative about the plants and animals and the purpose and workings of the farm. The entry fee is only £3 and for that we all had a wonderful day. Thank you.

Beautiful little farm. Lots to see - birds, sheep, alpacas, gardens, plants and trees, as well as a cafe and architecture. Impressed with the sculptures. Family friendly and I appreciate how in the reception area (with a gift shop), there were a stand of leaflets full of different activities for families, some taking place here, or surrounding areas. 100% recommend

Nestled in the charming suburb of Kirkstall, Leeds, Kirkstall Abbey is a stunning remnant of 12th-century architecture that transports visitors back to its vibrant past as a Cistercian monastery. Founded in 1152, this remarkable site showcases well-preserved ruins including the church and cloisters, offering an intriguing insight into medieval monastic life.
Absolute must see. This abbey dates back at least 800 years…. Absolutely incredible, such a beautiful place to visit. There’s a museum as well although we ran out of time for that. There’s a cute coffee shop and souvenir shop as you enter. It’s by donation so pay what you feel fair. Carpark is a short walk over the road from the abbey, opposite the small museum. Free parking.
Raelene R — Google review
Beautiful place for a wander on a sunny day! Parking outside the Museum for free. Entry is free but you will have to make a cash donation via terminal or use a traditional box. Toilets, a shop and a little snack shop at the entrance. You can have a picnic outside near a lovely river.
Marta R — Google review
Lovely large medieval abbey which is well presented. Kids enjoyed the simple family trail we did and exploring the various ruins. Particularly like the 'Pay as You're Able' model for every as otherwise things can get prohibitively expensive for families during already busy and expensive summer holidays!

Really good place to visit on the edge of Leeds . The Abbey is free to enter , they just ask that you make a donation for the upkeep. The parking across the road is free . We were unfortunate that the museum was closed due to lack of staff. Restaurant was clean and tidy and served good quality drinks and snacks. Will go back.

Kirkstall Abbey is an absolute gem in Leeds! The ruins are stunning and so well preserved, with so much history to take in as you wander through the grounds. It’s a perfect place for a peaceful walk, a family day out, or even just to sit and enjoy the scenery. The surrounding parkland is beautifully maintained and makes the whole experience even more special. There’s a lovely mix of history, nature, and open space. It’s free to explore, donations welcome. Definitely one of the highlights of Leeds and somewhere I’d recommend to anyone visiting the city.
Malc S — Google review
Well preserved ruin with lots of information posts. Fine for an enquired tour. Free to enter but there's a suggested donation. Well behaved dogs on leads welcome.

We enjoyed our time here. There was a food market on when we visited. We could visit the Abbey ruins for free. It is very lovely by the water. I had a coffee and a snack in the cafe. There is also a gift shop. The front of the cafe is dog friendly while at the back there is a cafe allowing assisted dogs only. The coffee was very good as was the choice of food and snacks. There is an option to pay to visit the Kirkstall Abbey Museum. Unfortunately we didn't have time to visit this time. Free parking accross the road and well worth a visit 😀

Gorgeous ruin with tons of history, incredible sights, and really lovely picnic spots. The ruins are truly impressive, very majestic, and almost haunting in their imperfection. A lovely walk out from Leeds central, it's a great spot to visit on your tour of the North.

Harewood House is an 18th-century stately home located in Harewood, Leeds. It boasts stunning Robert Adam-designed interiors, priceless art collections, and a beautifully landscaped garden. The house features antique furniture, historic paintings, ceramics, and a playground for children. Visitors can also explore the Bird Garden which houses over 90 different species, including some that are endangered or vulnerable.
We didn't get too much time to explore everywhere, but what I did see I liked very much. Breathtaking views from the garden of the house. Had a lovely cream tea with sandwiches, cakes and scones. Very substantial and part of an organised coach holiday. Not sure how much it would have been had we gone there on our own. The house was interesting and we were lucky to visit on a day where the weather was great.
Jackie F — Google review
Absolutely stunning grounds. The house is very interesting, quite a lot to see. It will take you approximately 30 minutes to an hour to go through the house. At the exit there is a little cafe where you can have a drink and cake. They don't serve much food, so don't be thinking to have lunch there. The gardens and lake are stunning. You could spend half a day easily strolling and enjoying the grounds. Negatives: toilets. Too few, old and dirty. Get them refurbished. The cafe was poor. Food was bland, overpriced. Tables dirty. Wasps everywhere - you need to control and get some bug zappers. Ticket prices are extortionate. £50+ for a couple. It's a bit ridiculous. Come on. It's definitely worth a visit, however, at this price I very very much doubt we will be back. The price is very off putting.
Toomuchtime P — Google review
Absolutely stunning! The entry fee may seem a bit much but it's 50% off if you're traveling by bus. The large grounds and the walk is gorgeous and the inside of the house is very beautiful.

The large grounds and the walk are gorgeous, and the inside of the house is very beautiful. It’s an amazing house with an interesting history. The Austen and Turner exhibition was really lovely. We would have liked to have lunch — the cakes looked delicious, rich in flavor, and the champagne glasses on the terrace looked beautiful. The Terrace Café outside offers a stunning view.

Was an amazing place for a full day out. The new playground was much loved by my kids 11 & 5. The grounds are well kept with plenty of walks avaliable. We went for a stroll around the house and it was interesting looking and leaning a out its history. We got the admission fee on offer through their website. There is ample free parking and your car is easily accessible once parked to go back to to collect items. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy a picnic. We will be back again.
Michelle — Google review
We attended the open cinema experience. Was a great little spot, good seating, good set up, food stalls and everything close by. Walked the grounds before- lovely little area.
Emily H — Google review
We enjoyed a good few hours here so was well worth the price we paid. The house itself was stunning and very informative. The tour guides were friendly and were happy to answer any questions. There was alot of walking but there was shuttles that will take you to the furtherest points but on the way back I couldnt see any so had to walk. The play area for kids us fab. I bought our own food and had a picnic but there was three cafes. The house closed earlier than the grounds so maybe best to visit the house first to avoid rushing around at the end. Plenty of seating dotted around. Very picturesque.
Shazia A — Google review
Very beautiful and well maintained house and gardens. Please allow yourself plenty of time or arrive in the morning to do a much as you can. The House closes at 3pm, the terrace cafe closes before 4pm but the Courtyard is open till 5pm, the ferry closes at 4pm and is not available weekdays. The old church has no parking but there is a shuttle bus. Lots of walking, gentle strolls, some places are hilly by the lakeside. There is a free ferry ride to the Walled Garden. There is a Children's Area, stroller / pushchair hire too.

Leeds Industrial Museum at Armley Mills is a significant part of Yorkshire's industrial history, housed in what was once the world's largest woolen mill. Despite its location in an area with a less favorable reputation, the museum remains a popular choice for families seeking a historically themed day out. It pays tribute to Leeds' thriving industrial past while also shedding light on the challenging conditions endured by workers during that era.
Very nice museum, even our kids (6 and 4) really enjoyed, because there is a lot of activities for kids to keep them busy. The big surprise was a little old cinema with a short movies and beautiful "engineer office" for kids to play. There is a lot to see in museum for adults as well, it was very interesting and we learned a lot about industrial history of Leeds and West Yorkshire. Very nice and friendly staff and it definitely worth the money. There is a family ticket available for family.
Silvia C — Google review
Informative and slightly depressing museum showing how great the industrial and engineering prowess of Leeds was. Friendly and helpful staff. Can get there by walking along the canal or there is a free carpark a short walk from the mill.
Michael D — Google review
Brilliant! Visited at the beginning of October 2025 when the outside area was closed for restoration. Having said that, there are still many great things to see inside. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff can explain the history and workings of the exhibits. A great museum.

Plentiful free car parking about 100 metres from the entrance. Good value £14 family ticket for 3 kids/ 1 adult, spent about 1hr 30 mins here. Interesting info about Leeds textile and engineering history. At 11:30am the looms were demo'd and there was a very good Q&A about the 14 hour work days, various textile processing related diseases and how phrases like "spinster" and "knocking-off" came to be. Armley canal is accessible via a small garden on the left as you come out of the entrance to combine your visit with a nice walk.
Nick L — Google review
We visited yesterday with a group of blind and partially sighted people and sighted companions. We were absolutely blown away by how welcoming and accommodating the team were to our group. We had planned our visit in advance and Aleks (Assistant Community Curator) couldn't have been more helpful, both in the planning and on the day. We were given a guided tour by Aleks and their colleague Sapphia, so our group was able to learn about the machinery and the history of the Mill without needing to worry about reading the information accompanying the exhibits. Aleks also ran an artefact handling session for our group which really gave our group a wonderful experience. The museum is a fantastic place. There's so much to see and experience, it's absolutely fascinating. In terms of accessibility and inclusion I couldn't rate it highly enough. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone in our group had a wonderful time. Huge thanks to Aleks and their colleague Sapphia for looking after us so well. We would definitely recommend a visit, particularly if you are visiting with a group that has additional requirements.

An excellent museum, which tells the story of Leeds industry through the ages - cloth making, made-to-measure clothing, steam engines, printing, film making, and many more. The displays are well laid out, with helpful information panels (or just ask the friendly staff or volunteers). The museum is housed in an old mill, an impressive building in a picturesque setting alongside the Leeds- Liverpool Canal. Well worth a visit!

What a wonderful place. Very welcoming staff and very helpful. A gentleman helped myself and my dad up and down in the beautiful goods lift. Couldn't have asked for better service and information. He demonstrated the use of one of the machines which is well worth waiting for. Very disabled friendly. My lasting impression was that the spirits that wonder this place do so with such pride in their work. Amazing things happened here and continue to do so.

We had my daughter's party here on Saturday, we were met by friendly staff on reception and given our wrist bands. The safety briefing was thorough and the kids had a great time. There were plenty of staff to help when needed. I enquired if the food could be ready earlier than originally planned and they started cooking as soon as I asked. The pizzas were really nice and more than enough to cater for the party. Would definitely recommend.
Vic S — Google review
We have just had a great evening, the kids have absolutely loved it. Staff were amazing, especially Lewis who was great helping the kids and entertaining them. Food was delicious and facilities were clean. A really good, active & affordable thing to do.
Roo M — Google review
Parking is minimal so beware. Initial safety briefing was uncomfortable due to having way too many bodies crammed in a very small room prior to climbing. The facilities are fine, for example, clean toilets. Has a cafe on site serving food and hot drinks. Climbing facilities are well displayed and enjoyed by the kids. Varying levels of difficulty and a really good work out for upper body and legs. My children enjoyed it and that is what matters to me.
Rehan M — Google review
Very friendly staff, the place feels a little small and overwhelming though. The climbing walls are all really close together and it was sensory overload watching my own child and watching out for others. If it was bigger it would be better. The cafe was lovely and the viewing point from there is great.

We visited for the first time tonight. My son is autistic and can struggle with new environments. All of the staff were so kind, gentle, helpful and professional. Farm
Nestled in the serene countryside just southeast of Leeds, Swithens Farm is a delightful escape from urban life, perfect for families seeking adventure and relaxation. This charming farm park boasts an array of attractions that cater to all ages, including engaging animal encounters where visitors can meet friendly cows, sheep, pigs, and even exotic creatures like llamas and meerkats. The fun doesn’t stop there; kids can enjoy exhilarating tractor rides and explore nature trails that wind through the picturesque landscape.
It's only a small place, but the staff are very welcoming, and it's great that the public can get close to some of the animals. Lamb and calf feeding was very interesting and hands-on, with the public able to do the milk feeding, with the supervision of the knowledgeable staff, who obviously care a great deal about their animals. It's a great way to introduce children to the importance of respecting animals and how important our farmers are, as this is a working farm. At the gift shop, you can buy cartons of cut carrots to feed the animals as you walk around (if you do this, make sure you save a few pieces for the llamas, goats, donkeys and ponies near the end of the walk round). There is a family-friendly cafe with a few great lunch options, and as we were leaving, we saw a notice for dog training classes. This is really worth the visit and the £10 entry fee to keep this farm going.
Sandra C — Google review
Gorgeous farm, super friendly animals especially if you have a box of carrots. The sandpit and playground was a hit with my little boy. We had some gorgeous lunch at the cafe and bought a lovely teddy from the shop. The staff were so friendly and helpful.

Absolutely love this farm. Entry prices are reasonable. Lots of different animals to interact with and feed carrots to. You can eat in their restaurant, which I'd say is also reasonably priced by today's standards or you can take a packed lunch to eat whilst at the farm. Enjoyable day out for all the family!

Visited for the first time today. We will be coming back. This place is much more than I expected. The lady that greeted us at the counter was super helpful, she gave us a map and explained where to go. Going around the animals, super friendly knowledgeable staff. All animals looked after very well. Hand washing stations throughout. Feeding the the animals is great, my son got to bottle feed a calf too. Plenty of play areas for kids, picnic benches. and a tractor ride. We had something to eat in the cafe which was very clean and tidy and again...very good staff. Food was served quickly. Also a gift shop area where the same nice lady served us. We got there around 1.15 and left around 4.15. Next time we'll arrive sooner as I didn't think there would be so much to see and do. Library
Nestled in the heart of Leeds City Centre, Leeds Central Library is a gothic masterpiece with stunning staircases, archways, and mosaic tiling. Adjacent to the City Art Gallery, this architectural gem offers quiet study areas, free internet access, and an extensive collection of over 500,000 books and periodicals. The library also hosts occasional lunchtime talks with university experts and various performances and workshops by local groups.
The Library is in a beautiful victorian building and connected to the art gallery. The architecture is reason enough to visit. Probably the most stunning cafe in all of Leeds if we're judging on setting alone, but be warned it gets very busy. We went with children and they loved the children's library which has a small play area inside it.

The library is the best I’ve been to in England so far, I like all the improvements: especially the music room with recording studios etc. I even saw a 3D printer, ask Wren if you need something. Met Jenny on the crafts and art floor, very friendly and shared activities that are happening at the library. On the research floor got helped by two ladies up there, didn’t catch their names but they were helpful finding resources and using microfiche machine. Janet was awesome at getting my card sorted out and giving me all the info needed to access audio and digital books. The café used to be amazing. So I am hoping they are going to invest a bit in there too. They used to have a good selection of fresh baked goods and drinks. There was even a chance you could hear an employee or guest play the piano. To say it was a bank holiday I thought it would have been busier. Though staff are friendly, met Scarlett and Mirzah. Got my #sconeAsInGone . There were a few sandwich and poke bowl options. The cups for tea also shrank. However the tea room is an amazing room architecturally, hard to believe that someone once chose to cover it all up!!

🇬🇧 Leeds Central Library: A Building with Stories to Tell 📚 Walking into the library, can’t help but slow down. Even with the outside wrapped up for repairs, it still looks proud and full of character. The stonework, the old carvings, the tall windows, they peek out from behind the covers like a book waiting to be opened. The building’s having a bit of a makeover right now. There’s netting and boards around it, and workers are gently cleaning and fixing things up. But instead of hiding its beauty, the repairs make you notice it more. It’s like the city is saying: This place matters! Step inside and you’re in a different world. The quiet, the collections of books, the historical Victorian charm, it all feels timeless. You can tell this place has seen generations come and go, each leaving a little piece of their story behind. If you’re nearby, take a moment. Look up. Let the building speak. Even under wraps, it’s still telling tales.

just love this library!! i‘m not from england, so it was so cool to casually lend every book imaginable i wanted to read from here (in Germany there aren‘t that many english books in the library) AND it‘s free to join!! The staff is just the loveliest, they‘re so welcoming and will gladly help you with anything. The only small thing that was annoying is that there‘s no consequence for people not returning stuff on time. So when you reserve a book and you see it‘s due tomorrow, that person who has the book might get an email, but there‘s no other thing motivating them to bring it back. Not saying that fines are great, but that means that you can have a book for ages, even if people have a reservation for it.

The building its self is lovely historic library which is a good size and free to use for the public. I took 3 stars away because of their need to posh far left radical opnions on you and children. They have a gender area at entrance and climate activist displays. Please please please don't be staging a protest you are a public service and should be their to provide knowledge without a bias.

Always happy to visit this beautiful library. Connection to Art Gallery makes it even more interesting. Great collection of books and informations about local history. Impressive design of this building always amazes! It shall be on bucket list for everyone who is visiting Leeds.

Ok. I love this place. Architecture is absolutely stunning, fast WiFi, plenty of places to sit, friendly staff, nice rooms to study in AND a cafe but oh. my. god. Leeds City Council if you're reading this, please revamp the toilets. They are genuinely the only drawback of this place. They're so gross like my friend just texted to say someone's urinating with the door open and there's poo on the walls like actually what is going on??? Hand dryer barely works, soap makes you somehow more unclean, doors won't lock. I know budgets are tight right now but please spare some pennies for this toilet. It's shared by both the gallery and the library so it really REALLY needs it. I love you Leeds Central Library but please, fix those toilets.

Very cute and cosy. A nice activity to do when you want a relaxing Sunday. It’s also very therapeutic and calming. Staff are very sweet and friendly, they explain things well enough for you to be left to your own devices. I collected both mugs and they came out great! Would highly recommend!

We recently visited this pottery place to celebrate my birthday, and while the venue itself is beautifully decorated with a great variety of paints and ceramics to choose from, our experience was quite mixed. Emily, one of the staff members, was absolutely lovely—so friendly, patient, and helpful throughout our session, especially considering we were a large group. I genuinely appreciated her kindness and don’t want to take that away from her at all. She was a real highlight of the visit. However, I was really disappointed by the overall response when we asked for photos. As it was my birthday (and a friend’s birthday was coming up too), we just wanted to capture some special moments. Unfortunately, the team made us feel like we were asking for too much. Hazel, in particular, was unfriendly and abrupt from the start and didn’t create a welcoming atmosphere. Even at the end, when we asked for a group photo with what we had painted, Emily said we had to be quick because another group was coming. She took the photo carelessly, and my friend—who was also celebrating—was cropped out. That really upset me. While I truly appreciated Emily’s warmth throughout the session, I didn’t feel like she made an effort in that final moment, which mattered a lot to us. It’s a lovely place for a casual activity, and there’s plenty to choose from creatively—but I wouldn’t recommend it for a special occasion. The way we were made to feel, particularly around something as simple as taking a photo, took away from what should have been a joyful experience.

As part of a work social event, I went to this place to paint pottery with my co-workers. It was very well explained, fun and relaxing. The staff was friendly and talked us through all the different steps. Everything was ready for us upon arrival. I am very happy with my candle holder and how the colours turned out. It was a fun and creative team building event.

I attended to here as part of a team building activity with work. Pottery painting... I'm not interested in that. Well these guys completely changed my mind. The lady there explained in detail the techniques and different ways of decorating the pottery. 2 hours flew by and we had an amazing time! Thank you for a brilliant experience:)

Middleton Railway, established in 1758, holds the title of being the oldest working railway globally. Visitors can immerse themselves in the bygone era of steam railways by engaging in activities like shoveling coal and peat into an old boiler to understand locomotive construction. The museum's Display Room showcases a diverse collection of industrial steam and diesel railway trains. Families with children can enjoy special events such as the Santa service during winter.
🌟 10/10 experience 🌟 We came to Leeds for a day trip last weekend. My boyfriend (who came a long way from Hong Kong for holidays) was so excited to see the old railway! At first, we thought it was just a museum to see exhibitions about railway. A nice old gentleman welcomed us, opened the door for us and asked if we would like to take a ride. It was so lucky because the railway ride only operated on weekends. We bought tickets for a return ride and it was super fun! We hopped on one of the carriages and there were “happy birthday” signs. My boyfriend was surprised because it was two days before his birthday. We kindly sing birthday song and took a few pictures to celebrate the moment. ✨ It was such a great experience. The nice volunteers really made our day! ☺️

A really good 6 hours, playing, riding, exploring, walking, I too and 11 year old who just wanted to ride up and down on the trains and a 5 year old who just wanted to play with the toy trains, exhibits and explore the museum, I on the other hand enjoyed the march through Middleton woods to cafe for bacon banjos and pots of roses lea.

A lovely time at the rail open day. All the staff were super enthusiastic and helpful. The steam trains ran on time, a good selection of food and local produce stalls. Well worth the entry fee to visit. Added bonus of live music. And dog friendly!

I can't believe I've lived in Leeds area for years and only just found this gem. I went with my 2 daughters (5 and 7) and they loved it. The train ride itself is just the right length of time. I got off at the destination to walk up to the kids play park. About a 15 min walk from the destination. Part of the coaches you travel in is open so you can have a really open air experience. The museum part of Middleton railway is brilliant too. You walk between 2 lines of old steam and diesel engines and get really close. Not 2m behind a rope like in so many other places. They have made it so you can actually go in the cab of one of the steam engines and blow a whistle. See all the leavers. There is a cafe and toilets too. Worth every penny I paid.
Ross F — Google review
Visited with our 3year old grandson and had a wonderful afternoon. He loved the fact he could climb aboard some of the display engines and blow the whistle. The actual train journey is quite short but very enjoyable. All the staff are friendly and helpful. We visited Middleton park before returning on the train where we had a picnic and a play in the great play area. Would recommend a visit.

Lovely little spot to visit with the children, nice museum, cafe and gift shop at Moor Road, then in to the train to Middleton Park where you can get off and explore the park (visitor centre, cafe and playground about a mile walk away) before returning to Moor Road later in the day. It's a great little place and amazing to think it's done by volunteers. We spent about four hours there, including the time spent in Middleton Park.

Absolutely fab for my 2 boys who loved the museum and the train cabs you could climb in. Reasonable price for stram train ride to Park Holt and them a 20 min walk through woods to Middleton park with playground, cafe and toilets. Middleton Railway ticket office area has cool shop, little cafe and really nice clean loos too!

A fantastic place to go, especially with children. The staff are so friendly and clearly passionate about the museum and can answer any and all questions! A really fun little train ride to the large park & woodland and back to the museum. There are cafes at both ends and a children's play park in the park, plus lovely toys to play with at the museum so plenty to keep kids busy for hours! We will definitely return :)

Really delicious food! We got the brisket loaded fries, the brisket sandwich and the salmon sandwich, all of which were amazing. We went during Friday lunch and it was super quiet. Loved my experience at The Tetley in Leeds. The food was outstanding and beautifully presented. I had the tempura prawns to start, followed by the cod and scampi bites on the side. Lovely flavour to all of these dishes. The bar staff were attentive and drinks were quickly served. The atmosphere both inside and outside was great. It was a busy day with the weather being so good. Would definitely go back.

The Thackray Museum of Medicine offers a captivating exploration of the evolution of healthcare, set within a stunning Grade II-listed building that was once the Leeds Union Workhouse. This museum features 11 permanent galleries filled with interactive displays that transport visitors from the grim realities of Victorian operating theatres to modern surgical advancements.
Went on an hours behind the scenes tour of some old collections. Lots of items carefully stored, getting catalogued as archived. An informative interesting walk round the museum, for you and old. Cafe, old street to walk through, check their website and pay a visit!! On site car park too

A great experience! Lots of exhibits, with information boards at each piece. A nice old world set up too showing how life used to be. Plenty of parking at a reasonable price right out the front, reasonable entry fee and very clean toilets.

A fantastic museum that delves into the history of disease and medicine. There are great interactive exhibits and the staff are all super friendly and knowledgeable. We even got to witness a fascinating talk on medical leeches.
Matt H — Google review
The walkthrough mock Victorian street in Leeds was really well put together. You could choose your character and see what happened to them at the end of the street. After this there was a video playing of a surgery that was a bit graphic, but it is signposted to not go any further if it upsets you. There were a few temporary exhibitions on the ground floor, and then a display of medical devices and artifacts upstairs. The upstairs section could do with a little more curating, it felt a bit jarring to move from a section on LGBTQ+ health to a section on war medicine. Overall a really wonderful museum and fascinating to learn all about Leeds' history and medicine though the years. Staff were very kind, tickets were £9, £12 regular and £16 gratitude. Cafe on the ground floor had a small variety of baked treats and drinks. Do not recommend exploring the surrounding area on foot, especially at night, take a bus or an uber.
Azar N — Google review
The walk through old Leeds back in the day really gave you an insight on how life must of been. The smells were revolting and you can imagine what it must of been like for the everyday people living there life’s. Certainly makes you think how easy disease spread. Worth a visit.

Nature & Parks
Nestled on the northern fringes of Leeds, Golden Acre Park is a sprawling 136-acre oasis that invites visitors to immerse themselves in nature's beauty. This enchanting park features meticulously landscaped ornamental gardens, vibrant wildflower meadows, and tranquil woodlands that create a serene escape from urban life. A highlight of the park is its impressive Lilac Walk, home to a national collection of lilac trees alongside stunning displays of hostas and day lilies.
I thought I knew everything about this park no, but to my surprise it is bigger than I thought) t there are plenty of paths around, if you want to get away from the crowded path around the lake. Now lilacs started blooming and there are lots of them on the paper ground above the tearoom. There are many species of plants and flowers specifically, which I love, starting with early spring. What I also enjoy that the park has information board around the park to ensure visitors autonomy and educational experience while they are enjoying the views the walk and the company. The park is pretty much family grandly with lots of lawns to play, table in the shade fur having snacks, and of course children like the lake. Surprisingly the swans and ducks are not frightened with so many people are d and the lake is quite picturesque. They say it was way bigger in earlier days. I suggest that the park exhibits the photo from earlier days on their information boards to celebrate their long history and popularity among visitors of all ages and several generations.

We had a very nice morning walking around the park with our dog. There’s a few car parks on either side of the park with plenty of spaces. They’re free to park. Lots of guided paths to follow with maps everywhere. The wildfowl lake was popular with the kids! The gardens are currently bare due to winter, but I’m sure it’ll be beautiful to visit in the summer. There’s a dog friendly cafe with a selection of cakes and hot/cold drinks, and ice cream! Looking forward to returning in the summer season for music on Sundays!

We thought we’d have our son’s birthday party at Jump Inc because he loves trampolines and boy did we make a FAB decision!!! So much fun!!! From start to finish 😇. The kids (and adults) had such an amazing time even with 2hrs of jumping then the actual party 🤣. Our host KATIE greeted us on arrival and was very patient waiting for the rest of the party to come. Shortly after, we were briefed on safety and what to expect, given our socks and wrist bands, shown to our party room and away everyone went! Katie set up everything we needed which was absolutely fab because that meant less hassle for us and more enjoyment 🥰. There are so many fun things to do alongside jumping - we all enjoyed laser tag, the kids football, car rides, shooting hoops and everything else that was on offer and all reasonably priced which was great!! Staff were very hands on and friendly, we’re happy to help at any time and was actually happy to be at work too 🤣. Everyone felt safe and comfortable and this type of party is so effortless I’m not sure why we never thought of it before 🤣😇. We had our own party bags but they also do provide their own for a small fee which was great too - they provide candles to accompany your cake and also cut it and serve it for you (again hassle free). The food was great as everyone seemed to enjoy it and what a fab fruit platter!!! Everything served fresh and hot (despite the time but that wasn’t too much of a bother as the kids were distracted by so much and were very understanding in these situations). 100/10 experience and we absolutely cannot wait to come back again (I wish I was able to get more content 🙈) ❤️❤️❤️ thank you for hosting us Katie and thank you for having us Jump Inc xoxo

Customers are not being taken seriously. The price advertised and the price I was charged for a children's party was different (14.95 instead of 14 per child). When I complained on the phone I was told there is nothing that can be done about this, despite acknowledging the obvious mistake from their end. Also when clicking complaint on their website, no text entry or email address appears. That's the last time I book with them!

Very Disappointing Experience – Won’t Be Returning! I’ve visited Gravity Leeds before and had a decent time, but this visit was truly awful. Despite booking in advance, we were met with a huge queue when we arrived. There was no clear process for people who had already booked — we still had to wait in line for 15 minutes just to get in. The staff were not very understanding or helpful. I explained multiple times that we brought our own socks, and was told that was fine. But when we got through, another staff member insisted we had to buy Gravity-branded socks and go back to watch the safety video — adding even more unnecessary delays. The queue to purchase socks was again long, with only one person on the till. By the time we finally got everything sorted, it was already 2:10 PM — our session was supposed to start at 2. After watching the safety video, we were allowed in, only to be told we had to come off at 3 PM anyway, giving us less time than we paid for. Overall, the whole process was chaotic and disorganized, and the staff didn’t do much to ease the situation. It might be okay on a quieter day, but this visit was enough to put me off entirely. Definitely won’t be attending again.

Excellent service, especially on the day. I didn't have any issue replying to increase my numbers in the lead up to the party. Customer service sent plenty of information regarding waiver, food options, time of arrival etc. Arriving at the venue, our party host Lorgan was absolutely perfect. He's an asset to you, clearly very enthusiastic about the kids having a great experience and was on hand to ensure everything flowed smoothly. They even resolved some food upsets from kids by bringing out alternatives. Can't fault them, so please ignore negative reviews, worth the money in my opinion.

Gravity Active Leeds in my opinion is fantastic, my two daughters love trampolining, the bouncy castle/inflatables area and we occasionally access the soft play area. The café has a variety of refreshments, which my children usually indulge in. But the main reason for doing this review are the amazing staff, especially how proactive, attentive and responsive they are to the needs of customers (especially children/neurodiverse individuals). This place is one of the places, where my children are very happy, content and feel very safe. Both of my children are Very Important Bouncers and I am at Gravity Active Leeds several times a week. I look forward to visiting there again in the next few days.

Took my son for his 6th birthday yesterday (27th) for the first time with a few family and what an amazing time he had… not only is the place great but the staff that work there to, have to give so much credit to the guy that served us at the till as we arrived forgot to get his name 😒 he was so lovely and explained everything perfectly, I did need a little help on the check in screens with names and he helped right away and sorted it out for us. His whole attitude with customers is amazing and even took a photo of family with me in it (mum) so I didn’t have to do it and be left out, he new straight away us mums are always taking pictures but never in the picture lol once again thank you, you made our day we all talked about you and said the same how lovely you was 😊

I love the Little Book Shop, all of the staff are really lovely and knowledgeable. It has a good selection of children and adult books and they are always happy to order books if they don’t have them and they arrive quickly. They also have a good loyalty scheme and it is always a lovely surprise when they tell you you have £5 off. Very thankful to have this beautiful independent book shop nearby.

Cat cafe
Cafe
The Kitty Cafe in Leeds is a unique combination of a cat rescue center and a cafe, offering an experience where visitors can enjoy the company of adorable rescue cats while indulging in delicious desserts, coffee, light bites, and mocktails. Located in a charming converted bank building in the heart of the Briggate area, this cafe provides a delightful opportunity for cat lovers to interact with feline companions.
I recently visited the Kitty Cafe in Leeds. It was very easy to make a booking, and the staff members I interacted with were all very polite and friendly. They have a simple list of rules for guests, to help keep the cats safe and avoid them becoming stressed. The cafe itself is very spacious, with lots of comfortable seating, and plenty of places for the cats to hide and climb. The cats were all obviously healthy and well cared for, with a variety of personalities (purrsonalities?) on display, from the relaxed to the curious, the playful to the ones with the zoomies! You’re free to roam around the cafe and interact with the cats, and it was fun to spot some of the ones hiding or playing with each other. The menu had a good variety of food and drinks to choose from. I had the cheese & onion toastie, the chocolate & cherry cake, and a Coke. The food was delicious, and there was plenty more on the menu that I hope to try in future. I will definitely visit the cafe again next time I’m in Leeds, and I would recommend it anyone else who is in the area too!

Visited Kitty Café in Leeds this afternoon for the first time. The customer service was friendly and welcoming, and it was nice to spend some time with the cats. We did see quite a few kittens that looked very young, which left us wondering if such little ones might be better kept somewhere quieter until they’re ready to mingle. A few of the cats also seemed a bit anxious, which made the environment feel different compared to other cat cafés we’ve visited. The place itself was quite lively at times a bit hectic. Our tea and sides took a little while to arrive, but nothing unmanageable. Overall, it’s worth a visit if you’re in the city and want some time with cats, just keep in mind it can feel a little busier and less calm than you might expect. Probably not somewhere we’d rush back to, but glad we experienced it once.

I have visited the Kitty Cafe a few times and it's always a great time. The cats are really sweet and it's fun to watch them. The staff are seen to be cleaning tables and the cafe frequently. I do think there should be an age limit of children coming to the cafe, as this is the cats home, and they aren't there for on demand entertainment. Other cat cafes i have visited in the UK tend to have a '7 and over' limit for example, which appears to be a calmer environment for the cats. The staff are seen to be loving and caring to the cats.

Good tasting food. Great tea. I've been going nearly weekly now during my time away from home because I miss my cats. The first time Web immediately came up to me before I had any food and cuddled up to me purring non stop. The second time there were very playful kittens frequently playing in front of me. Great for feline company

Took a friend here for her birthday, it is expensive to go in, but as it is a charity I do not mind. You are allocated an hour but we were there well over an hour as it wasn't too busy. Food and drink are reasonably priced, food was lovely. Lots of staff on hand if you have questions about the cats. It's worth visiting, it was my 2 nd visit.

First time visiting with my 10 & 11 year old daughters. Fantastic experience, staff were very friendly, service was quick and the cats were so adorable! Will be visiting again!
Fiona P — Google review
We absolutely loved our time there. Went in the morning on a Thursday (during school term time), was quiet so we got to enjoy the attention of the cats mainly on us! They were a wide variety of cats, ages and colours, most of them did seem friendly and happy to be petted (it’s completely understandable if some want time alone) A special shout out to the tabby kitten Kyzer, such an adorable, friendly and cheeky little furrball! We really enjoyed our time there, we were 2 adults and 1 child, felt the staff were really friendly, hard working and helpful even when our hot chocolate was toppled over by a hyper kyzer! Did not feel discriminated against due to being people of colour and different faith, despite previous reviews.

For first time I have visited kitty cafe in Leeds with my Daughter and it was amazing place. My daughter she is a cat lover so she was very excited to go there. A lots of cats around. Some of them are still young so are happy to play with visitors. The adults one spent more time slept so I suggest do not pet them. They may bite. Session is one hour and you have to book it online. Cafe is very busy. Price per adult is 8£ for kids is 6£. There is no age limit for kids like there cat cafe. Menu quite big, foods and drinks. We try margarita pizza and j2o and iced latte for drink and was really good. Definitely we will go there often. There are few carpark around but I suggest Victoria multistorey. Cheapest, 6£ for two hours and five minuts walk to Caffè.

Yeadon Tarn is a very nice place in a very nice area the lake is stunning with tons if happy duck you also get an amazing view of planes flying very close to you the ice cream a reasonable price for ice cream the only problem is the park it was very crowded and very like out together very quickly and I other thing is why you don’t let bike around the lake like put cameras down and only fine the people who mess around but anyways this is my opinion and my experience

Nice place to go for a walk, there is usually an ice cream van either in one of the car parks or by the play park. If you join the sailing club then you can also rent boats for the tarn also.

Great place for a walk, nice circuit around the lake. Ground is very flat and even so good for skating as well. Lots of fishing spots, close to Yeadon itself. Has parking at the top end, and there is also a fair amount of street parking nearby. Can see and the planes taking off rumbling along the back of the park which is cool as well.
Richard S — Google review
A truly wonderful day. Living so close I often go there, and taking lots of photos. There's plenty of cafe's down Yeadon high street.

Boring, soulless. Decent size car park, very short walk of about 10-15 minutes. Plenty of seats so good for the elderly or immobile. Flat, circular walk, plenty of dog walkers, picnic benches, area to feed the ducks, small playground for children. Sorry to not be more positive but not worth returning.
Sarah S — Google review
Well maintained paths. Minimal dog fouling which is nice to see. Plenty of seats around the tarn. Tables for picnicing. Ideal for watching aircraft take off from LBA. Kids can feed the ducks and geese. No cafes close by unless you head for the high street.

What an absolute great day, been a few times now and just love coming back. Been to this one and Bury and both are brilliant. Food good, excellent price I had a burger and eldest had pizza and it was very good. Staff are great and the place WOW!! we're do you start I was born 72 so all the games on floor 2 were my go to games in the 80s / 90s. If you haven't been or thinking of going it's a no brainier. Get urselves down it's brill. Only 1 thing wrong and that's the fact Andy hasn't opened 1 in Sheffield Yet.. So get it sorted. 😂😂

It's a cool place with a good mix of machines, my little one left early as it was too loud/overwhelming (to be expected) but my elder child stayed and we had a blast. Try the mach storm game it's awesome! Also, silent scope, house of the dead, crazy taxi, luigis mansion were hits with me!

What a fantastic and different night out! This spot is perfect for adults looking to unwind and tap into their inner kid. Just relax and enjoy the huge range of games from retro 80s and 90s all the way up to modern VR and 4d. The pricing for food and drinks is fair, and we appreciate that you can get a re-entry stamp to grab food elsewhere if you prefer. We were impressed with how clean it was; they had antibacterial wipes everywhere, and putting out deodorants in the restrooms shows they really care about the guest experience.
Yasin L — Google review
I visited here with a friends as part of a stag do. A very well set up and organised building. We had a great time with all the different games over the multiple floors and still didn't managed to get to everything. The restaurant/café on the bottom floor is so well priced for the quality of the food. Including the entrance fee for the arcade, I spent less than £30 for the night which I think is great value. Would highly recommend and u hope they open another location nearer to home.
Jamiewaldie1992 — Google review
Amazing arcade! For the price of entry, you get your moneys worth on unlimited games and a wide variety of games to play. The in-house food is well priced with lovely accommodating staff. Hand sanitiser station are placed around each floor for those who would like it. Important to note if you yourself or family member are sensitive to noise for any reason, it is advisable for you bring ear-plugs if you need. They do provide noise-cancelling earmuffs/ headphones but earplugs must be brought by yourself. The first floor is louder than the rest as it has more modern games which younger people tend to gather, the upper levels are quieter due to there being the more classic games. Friday evening is an adults only evening for those who are interested. :)

It was a great day out experience for my birthday, with my 2 irl non binary college friends plus me. All 3 of us had an absolute blast playing all the retro games plus modern stuff, even though it was busy and noisy but didn’t ruin my experience. We played over 10+ games in a span of 5 hrs and 30 mins, and the 3 of us finished The Simpsons Arcade Game for the first time which was my childhood game. 1 of my friend was so obsessed with the Dance Dance Resolution, and I absolutely loved the Crazy Taxi and Tetris machines. After we finished The Simpsons Arcade Game, we had lunch in the cafe. Staff/Service 10/10 Food/Drinks 10/10 The order went really perfect which I ordered a garlic pizza bread with no cheese, my friend they ordered a classic hotdog with everything on it they wanted, and my other friend they ordered a pepperoni pizza. After we placed our order, it was cool they use a number buzzer thing which when the buzzer goes on, then you go for your food which was a neat idea they do I was impressed and didn’t take long for the food to be ready. The food was amazing and didn’t expect the hotdog came with tortilla chips included, got to say for the price you pay for food and drinks I’m so impressed of. After our lunch we continued playing more arcade games, then me and my non binary they and me took a picture of the Sonic statue in a goofy 0.5 camera which was funny as heck. Then we ended our day of my friend they tried out the VR and I played Super Monkey Ball. Plus ended with we tried out the gaming pcs and we both played Among Us. I would absolutely love to go back again in the future with my friends again since there is more to try out, or at order locations.

Always a great day out and fantastic value for money. The food in the cafe is very reasonable. A vast selection of games and the extension stops the floors feeling as crowded as in the past. Thanks to the team 👍
Richard R — Google review
Great experience for those of us around during the time of the arcades (I spent MANY Hours in them), only issue I had was that many of the machines were in poor maintenance, examples are the fighting game cabinets, their sticks for controls are completely shot, actuators need replacing many of the Japanese style units. The racing games steering sensors in games like Sega Rally 3 and Mario Kart Arcade are completely shot, spent more time fighting the machine to make the vehicle go in the right direction than actually playing the game, damn things had a mind of their own lol. Outside of that, staff were lovely and helpful and the food is pretty decent and affordable, I would give it 5 stars as it was a blast from the past and nostalgia was very real, but with some of the games been pretty unplayable due to the units maintenance, I can't in good conscience give it 5. I hope the staff or owners read this, sort those units out, I will be paying another visit in hope you sort these issues.

Sam helped with our training, safety briefing and a few times through the courses. He made us laugh the whole time and made us feel so much more comfortable even though some of us were scared. Not only this but he remained professional in making sure we understood instructions and keeping us safe. Would highly recommend this to anyone thinking of booking.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by a team member called Ben, who instantly made my son feel comfortable and reassured. His patience, encouragement, and kindness throughout the event made a huge difference to our day. I also want to thank two other fantastic staff members one with dark hair and a headband, and another who was at the gate and later on the zip line. I’m sorry I didn’t catch your names, but your support did not go unnoticed. Thanks to the team’s positivity and understanding, my son pushed himself further than I thought possible. Thank you for an amazing service. The adventure park is very entertaining for kids. It is a very clean environment and a well maintained place. Normally adventure parks are very cold too, but this park was just perfect. All the staff were amazing, but one particular staff I think his name is David, really looked after us. He was very welcoming and had very good management skills. He was on top of everything and really made us feel like he cared. I think he is an amazing asset to the business. He ran the space very smoothly. I felt like he went out of his way and went above and beyond to make sure we have a good time. His persona is very charismatic with the right energy. Please promote him if you already haven’t. The park also has Halal and Vegan option and the pricing for food and beverages are reasonable. The food was a good portion sized. Thank you for an amazing service. We will definitely be returning to this amazing, clean place and recommending the adventure park to friends and families.

I took my kids to this place, and I was surprised at how spacious the place was. It's twice the size of Insane Air. My kids had a great time. I had a hot chocolate from the cafe and it was good, but my kids didn't like the slushy at all. However, it was a good place for the kids to let your kids loose. They went straight to sleep afterwards. The best part was that parking was free.

The equipment is amazing, I last played this early 90''s and it is so much improved. You can't shoot your own team by mistake, it won't register. We diverted 30 miles to go. A must play

I came here two days ago for a friend's birthday. It was pretty late when we came in (about 7ish?) And we had 3 games. The staff on shift were FANTASTIC, so helpful and polite, we had a great time. Billy, the guy who ran our game and was doing the desk, was really helpful and put me at ease despite my social anxiety :) 10/10 service would come again

Overall, a great experience for the kids. The staff that dealt with our party were great, especially Cameron. The food was a bit basic, but the kids loved it. The place could do with an interior refresh, and the aluminium chairs make an awful noise being moved about. I'd still recommend it for a kids party.

Bramley Baths is a charming Edwardian bathhouse in Leeds, originally built in 1904 and still retaining many of its original features. The twenty-five-meter-long glass-roofed pool offers a serene escape on rainy days, while the Russian steam room provides ultimate relaxation. This historic venue, housed in a Grade II listed building, serves as a community-led center for fitness and family fun.
This is an amazing place, we have been going here for around 15 year, my children started swimming here from the age of 4, and now my son aged 14 goes to the gym here with me, the staff are very friendly and make you feel like family rather than just a customer, would highly recommend joining to anyone looking for a gym, classes, or swimming lessons/sessions

What an absolutely gorgeous, clean swimming pool, complete with beautiful architecture it has been lovingly and sensitively renovated into the best possible blend of a modern and vintage leisure facility under one roof. It offers a brilliant range of events, catering to all. The staff are incredible; cheerful, friendly, welcoming and efficient. What a gem!

Poor Service and Communication They only replied to my emails after I called and said nobody was responding — and even then, they stopped replying again. I've been waiting since last Wednesday for an answer to a simple question. It shouldn’t be this hard to book a 1-to-1 lesson. Very disappointing experience.

I've been using the gym here for years & I love it. I wouldn't go anywhere else! The staff are friendly & welcoming. The other members are also friendly & welcoming. I always have a few conversations with people on my visits. The equipment is modern & provides everything you need in a gym. The place is very clean and requires members to clean equipment after each use. The fitness classes are fun and gives the opportunity for socialising & making new friends. I don't use the pool as I'm a rubbish swimmer but the pool is what you'd expect from a swimming baths. Loads of swimming slots for adult only swims.

Leeds Discovery Centre is a captivating museum storage facility that offers guided tours showcasing over a million intriguing objects from Leeds Museums and Galleries collections. Visitors can marvel at diverse items such as a taxidermised hyena, Victorian slot machines, contemporary sculptures, and even contraband turtle shells. The center houses an array of treasures including a medieval log boat, elephant skulls, meteorites, mummy bandages, and telephones.
This place is amazing. So many hidden gems steeped in history. Our children (and us!) learned so much. A special thanks to Jed for showing us around. His passion and knowledge were infectious.

Absolutely fantastic place to visit. The lady who was our tour guide through the collection was absolutely fantastic, knowledgeable and passionate about the collection. Myself and my 10yo had a lot of fun and we would definitely go back another time to look at some more of the collections.
Magdalena D — Google review
Well worth a look if you like museums as here stores old artifacts, bones, taxidermy, clothes, toys and much much more! Toilets and free parking but no cafe. Our guide was knowledgeable and it was a fun hour walking and looking at items he or we pointed out. 16C to keep items safe, but it was a good temperature for me! Book yourself on, I donated a fiver to help running costs and to preserve these fine old items 👍
Ilona R — Google review
We went with our 9 year old boy and we all loved it! There were roughly 20 people on the tour in total, with 3 volunteers/guides so plenty of options to ask questions about the different items. There's a huge mix of things, including taxidermy, artwork, historical items and even a cross section of a meteorite! It felt really special being 'behind the scenes' seeing items in racking and boxes, and the group being relatively small meant everyone got to see what was on display easily. Will definitely go back as items change as and when things are loaned out.

What a fab little place. Did a tour over half term with Jed and it was fantastic. Loads of incredible things to look at. Jed was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions about all sorts of things. What a great afternoon. Picture of a collection of small hats - I thought they were for a monkey but Jed informed us they were models made by a hatter.

I didn’t know that this place is usually closed for weekends. I just hopped in the car with my friends to go. Luckily, Adam saw us through his window and invited us in even though they were not officially opened and he was really kind enough to show us around. He offered us water and biscuits after the tour 😊. Thank you so much Adam!!! It’s a centre with over a million collection of animals, clothing, statues and so on. It was so fascinating. I saw some collections peculiar to where I come from, it’s indeed a beauty to behold. We were advised not to touch anything so as not to destroy the items. I’ll surely be back when they’re open on a week day. It’s free of charge. Parking space are available. I recommend!!! Its children friendly too.
Kehinde D — Google review
This place is better than the actual museum. Its just a pity you cant just go when you like, but must arrange a visit with a guide or one of the curators if you have a more special interest.Really Leeds should build a new museum so they can get more of the items and animal specimens on display.

As always, there is a great atmosphere here. My son loves this place. I am sitting in a waiting area and doing my work on a PC. We were again here. 20:00 - 22:00 session. Fantastic place. My son was so impressed. Thanks a million for the staff. Great services. Very friendly team.

My son has been attending mini riders on a Sunday morning since February and has been an amazing way for him to learn and gain confidence on his scooter. He can have help from the pros but also really benefits from seeing other kids his age. If I ever ask him what he wants to do on a weekend the answer is always LS-Ten. We had his 6th birthday party here this weekend and I couldn't have been happier. Everyone had a fantastic time and Sam was great and patient teaching the kids some pointers on skateboarding. Everyone came out telling me they had the best time and wanted to come back again. My son was buzzing, and we just love it here. Lastly (though most importantly) the coffee is really good!

We had the place to ourselves during a children’s party. The staff were so friendly and the park is great fun. We were limited to scooters but they’re perfect for mixed abilities. Mums, Dads and kids had a fantastic time! Keep it up guys, this is a great space and represents the skate scene perfectly.

This place is amazing and has become our second home since my 8 year old has become obsessed with skateboarding. This is largely due to the incredible people that work there. They are welcoming, inclusive and show a genuine interest in coaching people. My son’s happiness and confidence has increased thanks to Lauren, who has gone above and beyond to help him. Thank you 🙏

Great place. Suitable for all ages, although the younger ones should try to stick to the junior sessions. Quite a few skaters / scooter riders in with different levels of skill. All the skaters seem to look out for each other, having patience with the less experienced riders. Clean enough, little snack bar that's also cheap to buy from. There's a play area outside too - made of concrete so watch out for the falls. 2 hour session is just about enough (for an adult to sit / stand about watching) however the users of the park could probably stay all day if you let them. All in, it's a cheap way of getting a bit of play time for any budding enthusiast.

Great park and great staff. Lovely, welcoming environment. Wide variety of types and sizes of ramps. Main street style area has some Rehab Wakefield vibes (for those of you who are old enough to remember), down the slope, over the funbox, up the quarterpipe and back again. Outdoor skatepark as well, so its two for the price of one (weather permitting) Happy hour sessions are nice and quiet for beginners like me. Weekend morning kids sessions are great too if you have little ones.

It's a fantastic trail and supposedly inspiration to Tolkien for the 'Hobbit' when he lectures at Leeds Uni, you can understand why with the winding paths and magnificent tree specimens and home to a national collection of shrubbery( not that bothered so no idea which plant) .Enjoy as the carpark when I've been has always had spaces ...

The prosecco was flowing and so were the other drinks although we all said that we felt that the drinks were watered down. Food was excellent and very tasty. £41.95 wasn't really a bad price considering whst we had to drink. Staff were lovely and looked after us we. Unfortunately the music left little to be desired. The dance floor was mostly empty and that's a real sign for the dj to change the music. All in all we had a great time.

Popped in today to have a Sunday roast. It was lovely, you get a large portion, I opted for beef, you get red cabbage, parsnips, carrots Yorkshire puddings, loads of roast potatoes, broccoli and unlimited gravy. What an excellent hidden gem. The mill is brilliant. The exhibits are great. The house on sight is like stepping back in time, one of the best I've seen and so accessible. It is a crime that it will be closing for good at the end of March 2024. The water wheel, which works, is a sight to behold. Another piece of heritage that will be gone.

Went with my youngest Granddaughter. The volunteers, were busy cleaning out the stables. We met Cloud, and my Granddaughter fell in love. We said hello to two beautiful big white horses, they were enjoying their hay nets. We had a stroke and patted them. They were very soft and calm. They also had special nets on their ears and eyes. This was to protect them from the flies. We saw the donkeys, and some ponies in the bottom field. Also there was one in the training yard, getting brushed. We read the " In loving memory wall " We left some apples in the manger, for their tea. Then put some coins in the dropping box, she really enjoyed that. We went to see Cloud, Sago and Freddie again. We went and bought some lovely things, that had our favourites; Cloud, Sago and Freddie on. We bought some hat and carrots. Then said another farewell to Cloud. My 3 year old Granddaughter hasn't stopped talking about our visit or indeed Cloud. We're already planning our next visit.

This place has been going for years so that should tell you they're doing something right! We went to get some second hand riding gear and managed to get a great jacket. There were a few foals which is always lovely to see them a little walk around saying hi to all the lovely horses. The staff are very friendly and there's a little tea room to have a cuppa before you leave oh and don't forget to put a bit in the donations box, every little helps!
Joanne T — Google review
I was looking for something slightly unusual for my daughter's 7th birthday party and was delighted to find that Hope Pastures offer a party package! I don't agree with the type of parties where children 'decorate' ponies but knowing the purpose and ethos of Hope Pastures, it was great to be able to offer this close-up experience for my daughter and her friends without compromising my ethics. Communication from the team beforehand was great, and on the day we were warmly welcomed with sole use of the party tent, which had been nicely decorated for the party. Julie, our guide, was so friendly and helped the girls all feel at ease (there were 5 in the group as 1 couldn't make it). Everything was explained carefully and in a way that was accessible for the girls' age - including the fact that some of the animals would want to say hello in which case they would come over, but that some would prefer not to be stroked so would stay away. I think this helped manage the girls' expectations that this wasn't a typical 'petting zoo' set up, but a place where the animals are looked after and respected. It was lovely to meet all the horses, ponies and donkeys, Julie knew so much about all of them and told us lots of facts about them and their circumstances. The girls got to do a couple of craft activities, made some enrichment toys for the donkeys which they got to see them use, and also groomed one of the donkeys with careful guidance. I think the whole day helped show the girls more about these animals and built their awareness of them and their needs, it gave them the chance to try something new in a new environment, and it was also lovely that my daughter got to spend more quality time with a small group of close friends rather than having a bigger party where they're all racing around. And meanwhile their parents enjoyed coffee and cake in the visitor centre! I would definitely recommend a trip to Hope Pastures and think their parties are a great way for children to learn more about animals in an ethical, respectful way.

Really awesome experience. If you're used to man made flow and technical single track this your place. Also plenty of jump lines Solid rentals albeit wish they had dropper posts. Awesome cafe with good food. Everything that I could ask for I in bike park and a cafe combined into one excellent synergistic experience 😀 👍

Just to start off im yhe biker on the white bike and I've only been here once but I found it to be great even with the wet and very rainy weather. There's a mini pump track and a bmx track right from the start which anyone can do. I found that the mini pump track wasn't as good for kids above the age of 10 as it is too small for them. The bmx track uas lots of jumps and it has lots of berms. It's hard to gain and keep speed on it I've found but it's still really good to practice jumps. These two are really easy to find as they are right next to the car park. They shut off food at 3 at 3pm so i didn't get to try that, but the service was quick and it was relatively cheep for Leeds. There is a bike shop / repair shop there and they can pump up your tires or do anything you need really. The people in there are experienced and are kind. There are jump lines and gaps when you explore further and there is a huge bridge jump that is about 30 foot long. The 2 gaps are easy to jump I found as it was my first time jumping gaps. The jumps are very case friendly and they have good lips and landings. I honestly couldn't ask for more from a bike park this has some of the best jumps I've done so far as a new biker and I found it fun.

What a great place, me my son and my dad went here a couple of weeks back and again this weekend as the jumps were so good, my son absolutely loved the place, some nice table top jumps that are big but anyone can ride with as much speed as their skill allows. Definitely be returning soon. Not tried the Cafe yet but the smells coming from the place made me give it 5 stars anyway.

I’ll give this place 3 stars because overall it’s a cool bike park located inside the city and that is a think to appreciate it. Over all jump tracks are good but „enduro” loop is rated to high. Red loop is more less average blue in most places so nothing exciting really. Nice place to spend some time if you up to jumps, if you looking for some forest trails better find another spot.

This is a great place for young and more experienced mountain bikers, jump bikers and bmx bikers. We travelled an hour to get here on this our third but not last visit! And its free! Well done to Leeds council for building this.

Gorgeous morning for a visit to the pump track. Bike broke, but staff were able to fix it for us to continue. Great cafe and outside seating to finish off the day. Would highly recommend... and all for free (apart from coffee).

First time there. Great set up, loads of different trails for all sizes and skillsets. From the pump track to the big jumps there is something for everyone. Great place to build confidence in jumps and some nice technical bits as well. Oh and its FREE!!!!!

The Henry Moore Institute, one of Europe's largest sculpture galleries, offers three spaces for temporary exhibitions. This season (April to June) promises a vibrant cultural scene in Leeds, featuring diverse events such as the UN Year of Glass exhibition at the Henry Moore Institute and a solo show by Nigerian artist Bubu Ogisi at The Tetley.
Henry Moore Institute tends to be a professional art gallery, specialized in Sculpture art, which is more than a general gallery. For some people, the name "Henry Moore" may mislead them it is a museum to exhibit Henry Moore's work, but it is not. Rather, it is established by Henry Moore for the further development of sculpture art. Thus, it is a place for understanding and research of sculpture. On the first floor, it is normal exhibition for public. Worth a look, but feeling "don't understand", even reading explanation from the nearby notecards, is within expectation. Art needs your interpretation. What is special here is the research library and archives of Sculpture, on the second floor. It serves for the research purposes.

Visited a few times. I hadn't realised that there is a connecting bridge from the Leeds Art Gallery itself. First time I've used that, as I've always gone in via their own street door before. Shop and couple of rooms.

Having a museum with the name " Henry Moore" in it, with nothing by him, is a huge disappointment. Kinda misrepresentation. We went to the Max Ernst Museum recently, and it was excellent. Plenty of his stuff. Was Henry quite lazy? Look how many Picasso museums there are! OK, so this is HM "Institute", I now understand, but it's still disappointing. Especially as the art they do have is really terrible. Old paint trays scattered about. Insulting. The museum next door has a Moore out front and a nice Hepworth inside, although it's irritating in its own way.

I don't know, I guess I'm not a connoisseur or lover of modern art, but if you like it, then maybe you should visit this place, although there are only 3 rooms

This library is a sculpture lovers dream. In all my years of going to Leeds I have always seen this place but never did I really explore what was to be. I am re thinking of adding sculptures to my private interests once again and wanted to see what it was all about. Thankfully not only do they have access t0 some great books/pamphlets etc. They also hold regular exhibitions. Although I am a classic man myself it's great to see the library offering variety. Will definitely be back again.

Small but interesting - they do have a good display on at the moment as well. I was a little out off though. I was asked to put a mask on, even though wearing my mask exception tag, I’ve had to stop wearing one as I’m incredibly heavily pregnant and keep having bad Braxton Hicks that I have to breath through. The staff member was ok about it but it made me very anxious and feel really guilty.

Got talked into an afternoon of culture, so popped into this sculpture gallery. I was actually impressed with exhibitions on display, even if somewhat limited by the current pandemic. The staff are nice and informative and the gallery is quite a relaxing place too. Naturally, you have to provide your contact trace details, apply handgel and wear a face mask, but that did not affect the time I enjoyed here, definitely recommend this gallery. Parking for obvious reasons is an issue, but I found somewhere quite close and entry is free 😁👌

The Marks and Spencer Company Archive is a small but interesting museum which celebrates the proud heritage of the famous British retailer, Marks and Spencer. The museum has a wide range of objects from as far back as 1884, and it's definitely worth checking out if you're big fans of M&S or just curious about its history. The gift shop has some very nostalgic souvenirs to purchase, and the prices are pretty reasonable too.
I LOVE M&S archive!!!! Such a delightful experience. The music is so cute. The till sounds is also cute. The design your own jumper is also very cute. I’m obsessed. Also I love the old M&S adverts. It’s stuck in my head now. Sing a little song about terylene terylene. I love the little activities u do like puzzles and coloring ur own M&S logo. I would go to Leeds again just for M&S archive. Worth it. I also love the chicken. He’s my best friend now. I will miss him. We love Michael Marks and Thomas Spencer. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I went to this exhibition with my adult daughter. We had a great time. It was good fun with some interactive experiences and a few inexpensive gifts for sale.
Margaret R — Google review
A brilliant experience learning about the history and evolution of M&S! There’s plenty of memorabilia and information, plus opportunities to dress up and interact with artefacts. It’s free to enter. There’s lockers to put your stuff away, so you don’t need to carry them around with you!
Elisa W — Google review
Free entry. Worthy to visit if you are fans of M&S. The archie would like to demonstrate the core value of M&S and the inclusion of local farmers and people of different races. There is a tiny cinema playing old advertisement of M&S of different decades. There is a corner for old M&S clothes you can try on and take photo with the special backdrops. There are magazines fixed along with the collection exhibited. It is cool. And there are some gifts exclusive to M&S archive that you can buy near the reception. As a Hongkonger, it is so nice to visit the achieve because there are also M&S in Hong Kong. I suggest a little collection for the M&S history in other parts of the world. Yes, the shirt I was on when I took the flight to UK is M&S.😭 So many memories....

A wonderful museum, been a number of times , taking friends- free, friendly staff , films about M and S, clothes to dress up in for nostalgia! So nice there is a drink on offer Very highly recommended

The archive was full of different items which were mostly donated...We spent about 45 mins looking around and to be fair, there was some interesting items on display ...It would have been nice to sit and have some refreshments available to enjoy..
John B — Google review
It’s small, but there was so much to see and learn in every corner and on every panel. I enjoyed watching the ads from the 50s to 00s, and reading the stories of how M&S had been a part of people’s lives and cherished memories through the years. You could pick up a retro ad poster in the gift shop, and even the receipt is wonderfully nostalgic.

Live music venue
O2 Academy Leeds, formerly known as the Town & Country Club, underwent a gothic refurbishment in 2008. It hosts a variety of events, from old bands reuniting to pay their mortgages to more current chart-topping acts like Clean Bandit and Sam Smith. The venue offers an energetic atmosphere for watching England games on the big screen with friends.
What a fabulous venue - Attended the Holy Holy Concert 16/05/25, with my husband I have a disability, I can’t walk too far, can’t stand for long and my articulation varies as a result of treatment for cancer - I was cared for by the accessibility team and to say they were amazing is an understatement So patient, understanding and organised, they enabled me to get the very best experience from the venue All the accessibility customers were escorted, via a lift in my case, to the first floor balcony and there we stayed and I was able to “dance” perched on a folded seat with one of the best views in the house Thank you so very much - we will return
Angela S — Google review
Mis-sold “standing” area — no view at all The “standing” area was a blocked-view pen behind a seated block. As soon as the “seated” section stood up, our view of the stage was completely obstructed. We spent the show looking at the backs of people and phone screens. There was no arrival info, stewards didn’t manage the area, and staff offered no relocation. This is not the experience advertised. We paid to see a live performance, not to listen from behind an obstruction. This feels mis-sold and poor value for money. The venue should either manage the seated section, cap numbers, label this as “restricted view”, or stop selling these tickets. Absolutely disappointing. We could’ve listened at home for free. Would not recommend this venue layout to anyone.
Kristian M — Google review
One of the best venues I have been to, from getting in (so well organised). To the view and atmosphere (Primal Scream). Definitely will be looking out for future gigs.
Matthew W — Google review
This is a great venue. Although, the frisking and bag checks may seem a bit OTT, but that's par for the course these days. So don't get offended! Downstairs it's standing room only. There's bars at the back and to the rear of the sides, incl. a merch shop. Upstairs it's banked seating. The seats aren't massive but I've sat in worse! I think drinks are expensive (anything more than £4.50 a pint is, to me), but probably on a par with similar venues. Shame they've removed the couple of sofas which were just off the left side of the standing area downstairs. These provided comfort for those whose legs needed a break from standing. Getting to a toilet isn't too bad, there's a few around the place. The cloakroom is £3 a pop, and I also trusted them with my camera; all were kept safe. I've been there quite a few times now and I quite like it. They pull in decent-sized bands. I've recently seen Pixies, Akt Tunstall, Inspiral Carpets, and the Pixies there. Awesome sound each time.

Went for bongos bingo which was amazing the staff on entrance where really friendly. However the price of drinks was ridiculously expensive. The cocktails not so much but for a tiny glass of vodka red bull I was charged £14!!! Not impressed on the drinks prices what so ever. Security staff inside very moody apart from the guy that takes you to stage when you won he was really friendly and helpful even escorted me out of the building with my prize.
Arron W — Google review
Bought tickets to see James Marriott, parking was a bit of a nightmare but the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially the lady in the box office who helped me. The venue was good, managed to get a decent view even with taller people stood in front of me. Drinks were a little bit pricey in my opinion but could’ve been worse, had a great night overall!

Our first time visit to the O2 Academy Leeds proved to be a great experience. O2 Academies are great platforms for a wide range of theatre, production and music but especially for artists who are continuing to grow within the world of music entertainment. The O2 Academy Leeds has a capacity of 2300 people spread over the ground floor stalls to the upstairs balcony area. The seating on the balcony is typically unreserved and on a first come first served basis so if you want to be near the front…. Move fast!! The seating front on to the stage is tiered, where the side wings are more single bench style. We managed to get central front row seats on the balcony which gave great views of the stage. Our event at The O2 Academy was to see The Struts and Barns Courtney on their Grand Union Tour and this venue was a great place to see both bands. The venue is obviously not huge but it’s certainly big enough to have a crowd that generates a great atmosphere. Sound and lighting was good, plenty of bars and toilets around each floor level and all staff we encountered was really good. Located quite central to Leeds City Centre there is ample car parking nearby. We parked at The Light Q Park which was a circa 4 minute walk. All in all a great experience at The O2 Academy Leeds.

Me and a group of three other recently came here to do the ‘No Hope in Hell’ escape room. We absolutely loved it, it was so immersive and our game master Reece was also a big part of the fun, Lucifer’s Lifts and all. It was challenging, scary and funny. We did get stuck but the game masters were able to guide us through with clues if we needed. Highly recommend and will be back! Thank you Reece ☺️

Best part of the experience was SAM! ( the worker) he made it feel real and really immerse me in the experience Sam was great because he was enthusiastic and was there to give us clues to make us get the most out of our experience and made sure we were looked after and got our drinks although the ending of the room felt a bit inconclusive but the room was great overall especially Sam!

Experience! We had an incredible time! Sofie and Oscar were absolutely amazing – they explained everything clearly and made the whole experience both fun and thrilling. The balance between excitement and just the right amount of scary was perfect! We also loved the cozy bar before the escape room – it was the perfect place to relax and set the mood. Overall, an unforgettable and well-designed experience from start to finish. Highly recommend

Great Escape Room experience! To start: I've been to a number of different locations (both in the US and UK), and this is the first time I've seen a small bar in the waiting area. It was wonderful, and the drinks + room package was wonderful and fun. Also big kudos to the spooky vibe! We had made a booking for 2, despite the room being for 4 people, and I was very pleased to see they did not fill the extra 2 spaces and instead considered the room booked. (I've been to one in the US that filled empty spaces, and it is not fun to play with strangers). The room itself was fun, the right size, right difficulty, etc. Only had to ask for help once. Catherine, the host, seemed to be managing the place by herself! (and doing a fantastic job of it). This was fine, as it was mid day on a weekday, and it was not very busy. Despite this, she was professional, friendly, and offered us a great experience. Even asked us what playstyle we preferred (ie: how many hints and so on). Overall, a great time. I will definitely be coming back, especially for Halloween as many of the rooms are rather spooky! Picture in review is of the lobby bar, not the puzzle room.

Really fun experience! Came here with colleagues for a social and it was a hit! Sophie was amazing at setting the scene and looking after us, so thank you, Sophie! The escape room itself (Atlantis) was imaginative, carefully thought out and fun to find our way through. I've nothing to compare this to, so for my first escape room experience I thought it was great!

Great fun! Reece was very helpful very friendly! unfortunately didn’t finish due to timings wish we had half an hour extra. This place is amazing. As a tourist; there's not many things to do around Leeds. Found this place online and went with the family. Such an amazing time everyone had. From the toddlers to the adults. Did a bunch of activities such as bowling, pool, mini golf and the racing games etc. Made some awesome memories with the family and everyone enjoyed the vibes.

Amazing bowling hall. Booked the night before for a Saturday afternoon lane, 4 adults and a child and managed to book 2 games and a drink for everyone for just over £60. The hall is really welcoming and clean and remarkably the balls are immaculate something that we rarely see in our local hall. The drinks can be alcoholic with the exception of cocktails. Really great time and would thoroughly recommend if anyone is in the Leeds area.

We had a lovely time at Hollywood Bowl Leeds. We had one game of bowling and a round of golf. We had so much fun. Everything ran smoothly. My Dad is disabled and would have struggled around the golf after he had been bowling. We attended the SEN session at Leeds Hollywood Bowl with our little boy who is autistic on Sunday and it was amazing! On arrival my little boy even commented on how quiet it was with no music, no flashing lights and the machines at the front were all off. We were greeted by the very helpful Christine at the door who directed us where to go etc! There was a sensory pack treat for us on the aisle which was a really nice touch. It's the most stress free fun we've had as a family in a long time- thank you- we will definitely be coming every month!

Great set of folk running this yesterday. We took my 83 year old petrol head of a mother in law along and she had an absolutely belting time. Staff made her feel really welcome and looked after, particularly the guys out on the circuit who sorted her out when she went into walls. In general the setup is really solid, good fun track with lots of places where you can go flat out, and lots of opportunity to overtake. Cheers again guys.

Great fun and staff were really helpful. The kids absolutely loved it, as did I! The google maps directions are really out of date though and the brown signage in the estate leading to armouries should be removed please as it caused significant confusion to find the centre.
Ian M — Google review
It's was a good experience the staff where brilliant and the track and karts where ok. Only disappointing think about the whole experience was the waiting before and during the driving sessions which I may add where 2 sessions 15mins, meaning we ended up being at that place for over 3 hours. Arrived at 7:30pm and didn't leave the place until after 10pm which is pretty long for what turned out to be a 30min driving session. It's a good place for those competitive group gatherings looking for something fun to do.
Josie L — Google review
Staff weren’t very friendly and the place was unorganised, we were told our session was at 8:50 but didn’t start until around half 9 as we were left waiting in the briefing room for about 20 minutes until I had to go and inform someone we were sat waiting. When Id told them we’d been waiting for this amount of time he wasn’t very apologetic and was quite dismissive. The whole experience consisted of more waiting than actual driving. I’d been to a go karting place elsewhere and had a much more simpler, fun time as we were told what we needed to be told then got straight out onto the tracks, simple. One thing I will give them though: the staff member at reception did find an alternative session for my group to ensure we could all participate. Overall I won’t be coming back
Kiara B — Google review
Paid extra for the “track to ourselves”, only to find other people on track that weren’t part of the group The extra also cover ‘Grand Prix style start’ only to have a rolling start from the pit, with one of the group only getting 5 laps in while waiting for a kart. Urinals overflowing, and later a pitcher (I hope not from the bar) was left with a pair of nitrile gloves, presumably used to scoop out some of the excess. Bar service was VERY slow, didn’t manage to get a drink in the 15 minute break, despite standing at the bar and ordering at the start of the break.
Mike N — Google review
Jenson enjoys Leeds. He says it's a real fast track. He really likes the staff and are really helpful in improving his times. He get on well with other drivers in the cadets.

Put us on track with 16 cars in total!! 10 of which we kids who clearly should have not been on track!!! We had two 15min sessions and our group of 6 only managed to get 1 timed lap per session as the rest of our allotted time was spent under yellow and red flags most of the session!!! Poor regard for health and safety as these kids on track were a clear hazard and should have not been allowed to all go on to the track at the same time!! Defo never ever using Team Sport again!! What a waste of money!!!

Otley Chevin Country Park, located about 11 miles northwest of the city center, is a designated nature reserve with abundant wildlife. The park offers woodland walks, horse riding trails, and picnic areas amidst mature trees and rocky outcrops. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Wharfe Valley from vantage points like Surprise View. There are orienteering courses, guided walks, and self-guided routes to explore.
A place of natural and outstanding beauty. Lots of different woodland walks to explore, with beautiful scenery and glorious views overlooking Otley and Wharfedale. Ideal for dog walkers or just a leisurely stroll in the great Yorkshire outdoors. Also the market town of Otley is well worth visiting which is just a short walk or drive away from the Otley Chevin Park.

A super place for a walk. Boots advised, as it's rough ground. Views to north and south, plus close up plane spotting on the final approach to Leeds a couple of miles to the south east. Paths along the hillside vary from the open views at the top through various woods below. Large rocks and trackside walls reveal the quarrying past of the site.

It's a beautiful forest to walk with an outstanding view of the Wharfe valley. It has a number of footpaths and bridlepaths, rock outcrops and ponds all of which provide opportunities for activities for all ages. Unfortunately the lack of phone signal in the area makes it difficult to pay the parking ticket.

Easy parking although spaces were limited at the one we used but only a few yards away from the forest walk. Beautiful surroundings and lots of paths leading from the public bridleway. Was very muddy after a few weeks of rain so didn't explore. Good place to take a dog. Looking forward to visiting in better weather. Some lovely sculptures through the nature reserve

Fantastic place for a walk, bike, run or horse ride. Looks like there’s wild campers as well. There’s a couple of car parks at the main entrance to the chevin, they can get busy but you can usually find somewhere. There’s other entrances with some road side parking available as well. There’s various totes you can take to make it less or more challenging and make a walk anything from 10 mins to 2 hours. All paths have great scenery and some have some wonderful views overlooking Otley. It’s usually fairly busy with people and dogs but plenty of space so not crowded. Also there are horses being rode up there often so one to be aware of depending how your dog is.
Leon D — Google review
I think we only touched on part of this park. Around the Stone maze. It would appear there were more areas to explore across roads and slightly further down the hill. Each section had its own car park. Great place for a walk. Some very steep inclines and Declines down to the bottom of this section of park, but walking back up the Chevin Steps was an achievement in itself. Around the top area is accessible and has some amazing views, breath-taking. Slight gripe with the parking (feel free to move to the next review now to avoid a rant). Its paid, cheap enough, but I'm not sure what for. No toilet facilities at the parking site, though I'm led to believe there are others dotted thought the park (currently closed for maintenance). But on top of that, the machines didn't even work and so users are forced to download an app. Completely ostracised one older user who had to give up with his disabled adult son and leave. I offered to pay on the app for him but he greatfully declined. So sad to see a world that does this to its older generations.

Farm
Nestled within the picturesque grounds of Temple Newsam, Home Farm is a delightful surprise for visitors seeking an authentic farm experience in Leeds. Just a short stroll from the grand house, this charming working farm is home to a variety of friendly animals including pigs, sheep, ducks, and cows. Children can enjoy close encounters with these adorable creatures while learning about animal care and rural life.
Went in the house and the farm. The house is good especially if you have children with you there are rooms with dressing up clothes and baskets with games in as well as interesting stuff for the adults. We especially enjoyed the farm lots to see, there is a good adventure playground in the farm grounds and plenty of places for kids to run around in the grounds of Temple Newsam. All in all I thought prices were very reasonable and the gift shop had affordable gifts for the kids. We had lunch in the cafe it was very good food and also a reasonable price. Well worth a visit.

A great place. Many rooms with interactive elements inside the farm along with a nice variety of animals. Plenty of benches too for those of us that struggle walking constantly. Been a long long time since I visited so today was a very pleasant surprise, 100% recommend.

First time visiting and wasn’t quite sure where we was meant to park. The farm was lovely lots of animals to see and different interactive rooms. The new play area however was not the best. Made of wood it was easy to get a splinter. To enter the play area you had to basically army crawl the whole way around making sure not to bang your head, for toddlers who are too big for the baby area but still need help this place isn’t suitable for adults to help their children. The ball shooter is also extremely loud which made my nearly 3 year old not want to enter. Also couldn’t find any signs as to where the outdoor play area was.

We travelled here with 7 of us. 3 adults and 4 children. Which only costs £22 for everyone to visit the farm. The grounds are spectacular. This is lots to do. There is the farm where we got to see some small piglets a week old. There is a play area further around and lots of areas with information on how a working farm operates. Outside the farm has toilets and a tea room. Lots of areas for dog walks and fields for games and walks. Will visit again. Everyone loved it.

Very nice place. The farm is lovely and the animals are very well looked after. We enjoyed the playgrounds and the observation beehive, so interesting. We will be coming back. The only thing to mention is the car park, it could be more organised.

Devastated. Myself and my partner visit Temple Newsham Farm frequently within the year. However, we arrived today to be greeted with the new house farm and play barn - looks lovely but for us having no children has now become a place which we will no longer return too. Seems pointless to pay £9 each for entry when we obviously can’t use the facilities. Understand if there was a slight price increase but the price for us to visit here has almost x4. Disappointed - used to be a great way to spend an afternoon.

This is a lovely farm in temple newsam ,good value for money .with a little park for your children to play
Susan M — Google review
Took a 1year old and 3 and half year old who really enjoyed it. They especially liked the pigs. We also took advantage of the newly opened playbarn but was a little disappointed. The 1 year old liked the smaller area but it was in the words of the older child, boring as not challenging enough. The bigger side with the slides and climbing equipment was, too difficult. The rope section to walk across was too painful on the feet and he couldn't climb onto the platforms. It really needs an intermediate section that is a transition between the age groups.

Lotherton is a charming Edwardian country manor and estate that was once the residence of the Gascoigne family. The property features landscaped gardens, stables, playgrounds, and woodland walks, offering something for everyone to enjoy. Visitors can explore the country house, bird garden, exhibitions, shop, and stables while also taking leisurely walks through the woodlands.
Ab amazing place. The grounds and gardens are beautiful. Bring a picnic and rug, let the kids run around in safety. There's a small wildlife park with penguins, fruit bats, rare birds, etc. The house itself is a beautiful place, well.worth the £10 admission fee alone. A great play area with swings slides etc for under13s.

Great place, we upgraded to a season pass as we enjoyed it that much. The weekend we attended there was a special 1940's weekend on. So there were numerous Second World War exhibits, the people who brought the items were very knowledgeable and great at getting the kids involved. The sun was glorious, so we didn't go into the historic house, we are saving this for our next visit. We did however go and see the animals in the zoo area. The penguins were our favourite, followed by the tapier. The place has ample parking and a good playground for the kids, if you live within an hour, it's a great place for a day out.
Mark A — Google review
A lovely place to spend the weekend. I especially loved the wildlife area, it was fantastic. Although the zoo is small, I still spent almost 2 hours there. The historic house and beautiful gardens are also worth exploring. The art gallery also offers costumes and toys for children to enjoy dress-up and play.
Charles L — Google review
We loved it here. The house and gardens are in excellent condition and there are some beautiful trees, plants & flowers. It cost us £10 each to enter. We bought tickets in advance. We enjoyed our time in the orchard including try a few of the 100 varieties of apples. We didn't visit the wildlife enclosure because we had our dog Stan with us and no dogs allowed (understandably) definitely worth a visit 😊

Great place for the children and perhaps adults alike. Lots of animals to see, a playground to suit all young ages, cafe in the square (a little pricey) but ample choice for snacks or main meals. There is an indoor play area set to open in the autumn which after a glance through the window looks exciting. All in all a good day out.
Anne W — Google review
A beautiful place to visit, a lot of walking, but at your own pace. Plenty to see and entertain the family. You can walk through the animal enclosures , have a picnic, stroll through the peaceful gardens, and you must definitely visit the house!

A beautiful day spent looking at cars from the Porsche Festival. It was situated in a field within the grounds. There were plenty of parking and admission was £10.50 per person. It’s also dog friendly! There was also a local jazz band playing in the summer tent and what a lovely day to hear them blast some relaxing tunes!!
Elisa W — Google review
Love this place, really good value, £10 adult ticket online, includes entry to the house, gardens, wildlife world, deer park and parking. Lots of space to park, no waiting. House is one of the nicest historical houses I've been to. Packed with beautiful items of furniture, art and interesting objects. There were some really nice activities for children as it is the summer holidays, the gardens are lovely, wildlife world has lots of unusual animals and birds, there is a large herd of deer to observe on the deer park, and a nice courtyard with gift shop cafe and toilets. Would 100% recommend a visit.

meetspaceVR, featuring Zero Latency, offers an immersive virtual reality experience where teams can engage in thrilling adventures such as battling zombies, solving puzzles, and exploring new realms. This high-tech team-building activity provides a next-level challenge that tests communication and coordination skills. Visitors have praised the welcoming and helpful staff who ensure a great time for all participants. The facility also offers additional amenities such as free lockers and video games to enjoy while waiting for sessions.
We came for a work afternoon out and had a fab time! Our game master Riley was fantastic, explained everything so well and made some great recommendations! Really spurred us along during the game and even took some fantastic videos on our phone! We can’t wait to come back! Thank you so very much! 😊
Libby M — Google review
We received a voucher for Zero Latency and were excited to try it out. Unfortunately, our initial attempts to redeem the voucher via email (as instructed) went unanswered, despite sending three messages. Eventually, we decided to visit in person and were able to book a session for the following week. When we asked about the available VR experiences, the staff member mentioned a zombie-themed game, which sounded fun—so we chose that. On the day, our session was delayed by about 20–25 minutes, and we had to leave and return later. The venue itself is very underwhelming; a few simple decorative improvements to the interior could make it feel more welcoming. More importantly, the game we played turned out to be an escape room experience, not the zombie game we were expecting. Escape rooms aren’t our thing, so this was disappointing. What impacted the experience most, though, was the lack of immersion. During the game, other staff members repeatedly entered the area and had casual conversations—including swearing—with the staff member assisting us. Even with the VR headset on, the voices were very audible and distracting. For a business focused on immersive experiences, this really took us out of the moment. We appreciate the concept and can see the potential, but unfortunately, our visit didn’t meet expectations. With some attention to communication, environment, and customer experience, this could be a much more enjoyable outing.

One of the best VR experiences we’ve ever had! We went to Zero Latency in Nottingham and played Space Marine as a family of four (two adults and two teens). It was a 30-minute game, and honestly, we all loved it. The setup was smooth, the staff were great, and the game itself was fast-paced, exciting, and incredibly immersive. It felt like we were right in the middle of a space battle, working together as a team. The graphics were amazing, and everything ran super smoothly. It’s rare to find something that everyone genuinely enjoys, but this hit the mark. We walked out buzzing and already talking about when we’ll go back. Totally recommend it for families with teens or anyone looking for a unique, high-energy activity.

Absolutely loved it! Surprise for my 60th birthday and we did 'outbreak'. I thought I'd be too scared to do it but survival mode kicked in! The staff were great at explaining things and putting you at ease. Highly recommend it.
Kate C — Google review
Terrible staff, with no idea what to do, ruined the experience. The whole way through the experience it sounded like someone was breathing heavily into the microphone. We must have mentioned this 100 times between us, gone through process of elimination with all players and came to the conclusion that it was the staff member. She swore repeatedly that her mic was muted and refused to do anything to solve the issue. We were being far too British about the problem and tried to ignore it at one point but it got worse. We had to stop the game and explain multiple times to explain what we believed the issue to be, she still refused to believe it was her. Right up until someone else came in to talk to her and we could hear their conversation. By that point, the immersion was completely broken and the time was almost up. They offered us a 50% discount on the next trip. Was not worth it at all. Completely useless.

Took my two boys in for their first proper VR experience. Set up was great, some games to play while we waited. Brad (Plumbob) was amazing at encouraging them and talking them through the basics. Overall, really friendly set up and we will definately be back.

Absolutely brilliant! We had an 11 year old's birthday party here, in the arena. They all absolutely loved it. I would recommend going into the arena to watch participants too, as it's great fun to watch them play.

Absolutely fantastic. This is one of the best experiences we’ve had. We went to the Nottingham experience. The staff are warm, welcoming and so so helpful. Full of advise and not pushy. Can’t wait to go back and try another experience. Thank you team.
