Been on my list for years today we finally made it . It's a lovely spotlessly clean place. Very good layout excellent friendly staff. And the food is incredible awesome fish and chips. No wonder the place was packed. Can't wait to return for more .

Had seen this place on Youtube videos, so as I was in the area I went down to Murgatroyds and it didn't disappoint. Got there about 2.00pm on a Saturday and the carpark was full and the restaurant was full with a queue building up quickly so I decided to go to the takeaway area and was served straight away. I ordered the big un, a large haddock fish, I waited about 10 mins and in that time the takeaway part was filling up. Never seen such a busy fish and chip shop. The servers were fantastic, they were very pleasant and organised. The fish was huge such that it didn't fit in the box and the fish oozed quality. The haddock tasted sweet and the batter was crispy, the fish was very chunky and white, cooked right 100%. I definitely recommend this place. I ordered some chips as an afterthought, the chips were like chips of yesteryear, really soft and not overpowered by the oil. Well done 👏

Absolutely fantastic first time here at Murgatroyds. The reviews were right! The Big’un certainly lived up to its name and the whole experience was made that extra special by our waiter, Harry. Keep up the great work!

Murgatroyds had been on our wishlist for sometime now, so whilst on a couple of days hols off work, took my Mum and Dad for the 186 mile trip from Milton Keynes, with a visit to Saltaire thrown in. We were not disappointed! A warm friendly welcome, there was a short wait for a table, we had a lovely, friendly server, Jo, who was great. The food came quicker than we expected with the place being full. We all had the haddock fillet, which was absolutely cooked to perfection, melt in the mouth fish 👌 We'll definitely visit again - no question. Murgatroyds is class, a solid 10 out of 10 😍😋😍

I drove 1 hour to get here and although I have eaten in some very good chippies recently, I think Murgatroyds deserves the top spot. Every part of the meal - fish, chips, peas and curry sauce - was delicious and the prices are very reasonable too. And the 'regular' portion is huge. (I'm glad they don't do the "Big 'Un" on the takeaway menu as I would have had to try it and likely regretted it.) Unfortunately it's 90 minutes away from me and so I won't be able to come as often as I'd like, but I think I'll make the effort every now and again.

Went to try the traditional Fish and chips , along with my guests from India, booked a table in advance, so we did not wait to be seated, though there was a line at the gate. Food was fantastic, potion sizes are too generous and taste is awesome, the fish was melt in your mouth, though the quantity of oil remaining in the fish could be less.

Excellent Chinese takeaway, no atmosphere but cheerful service and quick. Just ordered Mushroom chow mein, mushroom curry, egg fried rice, king prawn balls and chips. Honestly all very good, portions are huge, whole lot was £30 and fed 3 with leftovers, very good in this day and age. Uploading menu pictures. We travelled 10,000 miles from Australia to reminisce at our favourite chippy and it did not disappoint. We were greeted by Jo who was so lovely and friendly, our food was amazing and we all loved everything we had. The fish and the chips were just the best, so delicious. Thank you for such a lovely part of our holiday.

‼️It seems that today I tasted the most delicious fish with chips and curry sauce in the UK. Everything I had before this did not taste good. The fish was very tasty. I was also very pleasantly surprised by the service from the first seconds when I crossed the threshold of the restaurant. The seller behind the counter named Dan tells me the story of the founding of the restaurant in 1062 and kindly offered me a table, and the waiter Victor treated me very well, understood my not-so-perfect English from the first words, supported the conversation and told me the secret why the fish is so tasty. The place is clean. It doesn't smell strange. Victor wiped each table with disinfectant after customers. I don't see this often. One more thing - our order was brought to us very quickly, this is the first time I've been to such an establishment where they fry fish and chips so quickly. We were very satisfied and will come again. I'm glad I now know exactly where the food is delicious, clean and the staff are friendly to your customers. I was eager to review one of the seven branches of The Wetherby Whaler, and on this occasion, I chose Pudsey. There is a good-sized private free car park to the rear of the building. The shop is large, with a dedicated chippy takeaway and a spacious restaurant. Everything was tidy, and the customer service was commendable. The packaging was environmentally friendly. I opted for the Whaler Haddock, which was a thick jumbo fillet encased in a dark, crispy batter. The batter had a colour I had never experienced before, but the taste was excellent, as was the haddock. However, the chips were pale, much too firm, and rather bland. The potato scallop was a bit oily (beef dripping) and, like the Yorkshire fishcake, could have benefitted from being left to drain for a minute or two before packaging. We decided to come here to eat in rather than takeaway and the food was fantastic. The mixed platter to start tasted very fresh and the batter was light and crispy. The salad was also really fresh and finely chopped. We both had the regular haddock and chips as mains which were again well cooked, batter crispy and light. The warm fudge cake for dessert with ice cream was lovely and the whole visit was a great experience. All the staff were very friendly and attentive when needed but not overly so. We'd happily make the decision to eat in again in future. Thank you 😊

We took my father in law for father's day,on Sunday around 5pm. We did not book and were able to be seated once a table was re set. The waitress came was very good and service was quick. We ordered a senior fish and chips, regular fish and chips, and large fish and chips. Mushy peas and bread and butter sides. As well as 3 teas. Our bill was around £53 The food was piping hot , the batter was crispy and the fish perfectly cooked. We all managed just about to clear our plates, we all enjoyed the food very much. I was also able to order a takeaway meal that was brought to our table. Such a great place to eat for all ages. The toilets were a little dated but were clean and well stocked. There is a wheel chair accessible entrance, and disabled toilets. There was a large party eating with small children, they had access to highchairs , colouring in sheets and crayons , as well as being offered a large basket of toys.

Enjoyed a lovely seniors meal with my Mum, fresh and hot fish and chips. Our waitress Matilda was so lovely, very efficient and all done with professionalism, courtesy and a beautiful smile, she is certainly a credit to the restaurant.

Delicious fish and chips with a great dessert menu too. If you're in or near Pudsey so yourself a favour and dine in at Whalers. The staff are knowledgeable and very friendly. Fantastic dining and highly recommended!

Excellent fish and chips served with a smile nice spiky batter cooked through with great chips cooked well frankly what more could you want … spotless shop as well ps the 11:95 special fish comes with a few chips and easily feeds two people … the uber offer of fish in bread cake and chips two for one is an absolute bargain and the spicy version is really nice as well !!!

Really disappointed – not worth the price anymore I’ve been to Mother Hubbard’s a few times recently, hoping it would go back to how it used to be, but it’s only gotten worse. The fish is pale and soggy, not crisp at all, and the chips are dark, oily, and unevenly cooked. It honestly looks like it was thrown together with no care. I paid nearly £10 for this, and it’s just not good enough. For the price, I expect decent quality, not this. This is the third bad visit in a row, so I won’t be coming back. Time to find a new chippy.

Very affordable prices, the serving of fish was enormous and loads of chips that go with it. Battered chicken was also good and serving was huge. Place is nice to eat at, though a bit hard to park outside and its situated in multicultural neighborhood as I see it. Loads of other good food in the neighborhood. Service was good. My only concern was that the chips were almost all soggy.

Delicious and Freshly cooked fish and chips to order. Food was hot and the batter was perfect on the fish.The portions are pretty generous, so you definitely get your money's worth. It's a great spot for a quick, satisfying meal when you're craving that traditional chippy taste. 10/10 service from all the staff, very attentive, shop was nice and clean. Highly recommend.

Visited after quite a few years because of disappointing time last time and even worse now due to infighting between staff in full view and expletives being used, delayed service and being ignored, under cooked chips but fish was nice!! Pic is of chips from last time

Had the Fish and Chips special. It was an excellent choice given how hungry we were!! Had the scratchings thrown in for good measure and a tub of curry sauce to seal the deal. There are table and chairs to dine in. Would highly recommend 👍🏾👍🏾

Weve had variable quality fish and chips from the croft over the years. They used to be stellar but can also be a bit meh. I'd say we've had poor quality fish and chips only twice from there previously. Today's was absolutely abominable. The fish was a tiny bit under and the batter certainly flaccid and under cooked. The chips were fit for the bin. The croft should be ashamed for serving them. They were also soggy, pale and undercooked. However the most pressing issue was the fact the had been made with bad potatoes. There were black chips, green chips, chips with potato eyes, and unpeeled chips. We rescued a handful of edible ones from two full portions. I accidentally ate a black one and it tasted of rotting. Ive posted a small selection of the bad ones. The others are in a black plastic bag where they belong. Yes mistakes can happen but they must have known full well when they wrapped them up that they were inedible and banked on customers not returning to complain on an icy cold day. Well they were right, we threw them away and we certainly won't be returning. We're loyal customers but a third time of wasting money on food that goes in the bin is too much for us.

Not great for pescatarians / vegetarians because of beef dripping. It could be really easily done and crisper in oil and accessible for more people in the community.

A really clean fish and chip take out and very decent food too

Heard a lot about it. Went to check it out this evening. Veryyyy expensive.... Chips seemed burnt/refried. Kids asked me why did I go to a cheapy fisheries. I laughed and replied no I went to a famous one. They laughed at me. There is a loyalty scheme that requires you to download thier app. So I did but guess what that was too late as had to scan that before payment. Obviously wasn't prompted to do so as that would've meant giving me around 30 points 😀 Good luck!!!

I am a repeat visitor to Croft Street Fisheries. Whenever I am in Farsley I have to have my fix of their delightful beef dripping infused crispy yet fluffy and amazingly tasty chips smothered in this great curry sauce. Yummy.

great restaurant, went for my moms birthday. very happy with the food and the service. i had a beef lasagna, my dad had bream and my mom - duck. we also had a cheesecake. everything was delicious and of very high quality! my dad said he was very pleased with the prices after having spent the past few days in london :)

Delicious and delightful. It feels incredible to go to a restaurant and not have to worry about getting glutened. Charming atmosphere too. We had the vegan lasagna and the gnocchi. Both sublime. Even the vegan cheesecake was wonderful. Wish I lived closer!

A coeliacs dream! We ate as a party of four people. Every course was delicious. It was so nice to eat out and not have the nerves about if you were going to be ill. The veg tempura & baked mozzarella were delicious. All the portion sizes were great. Definitely recommend this place if you are gluten free. The cheesecake was probably one of the nicest desserts I’ve ever had.

Absolutely AMAZING restaurant. Probably one of the very best in Leeds. A small, intimate restaurant where you immediately feel at home. The food is sublime, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Absolutely everything on the menu is gluten free which means my friend who is a coeliac can choose anything! This is indeed a rarity! For none glutens you would never guess this was the case! Definitely my favourite restaurant in Leeds. FABULOUS ❤️

We had a wonderful time. Even the gluten eater amongst us was very impressed by the thin yet crispy batter on the fish. Everything was perfectly cooked and despite feeling very full we all had dessert. The sticky toffee pudding and the tiramisu were both amazing. Very friendly staff and would highly recommend :)

Lovely good, lovely people lovely place. Really glad I found this small place. Despite the good being great the portions where huge (fish in particular) and the duck and Yorkshire pudding whole unusual was lovely. My only complain is the start options are a bit lacking but the main and desserts more then make up for it Will be going again and recommending to others

We chose this place from Trip Adviser reviews and just walked in hoping to get a table. The owner/manager didnt hesitate and although busy we got a table straight away. The restaurant was almost full so good sign! The food was delicious, well presented and customer service friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend eating here!

Not very busy the day I was in. For most of the time I was the only customer in the place! The new ice-cream parlour was doing nothing which meant that the hapless girl sat behind the counter had nothing to do except listen to the radio and stare at me eating my fish and chips! The fish and chips were beautiful though so I didn't mind the girl behind the ice cream bit and the other girls at the fish shop counter staring at me. Maybe they thought I was handsome with my new haircut. Nice to be fancied! I'll go there again! Food beautiful too.

Food is okay for fish n chips. Atmosphere is a share-table set up (mosyly). It's very fast food's so dont expect much. The best aspect of Ocean's is the wonderful, friendly, fun and helpful staff!

Have been repeatedly coming here for years. The food is exceptional and reasonably priced. Oceans has alot of local competition with fish and chips, however it stands above all. The only draw back is the parking. As it is often difficult. And unfortunately since the new addition of the desert bar, the seating inside is awkward and not appealing. As the seating is crammed in and you are forced to sit next to strangers. The seating inside, is the only reason I cannot give oceans a 5*.

Ordered a delivery at 14.45pm to be delivered for 5pm. Rang at 17.15pm, Finally answered after ringing 10 times, as it cuts you off. To be told its just leaving the shop with other orders. Its late because of the road closures, which have been on going since March. It's now July!! Finally arrived at 17.50pm. 3 hours after it was ordered and 50 mins late for a 17.00pm delivery. If you don't have the staff, don't take orders. Basic customer service, would be to inform customers if you are not able to fulfil an order. I'm out for 18.30pm so a meal for the bin. Last order for this household

Treat myself to gluten free fish n chips,2 parsley fishcakes for partner from putting my order in to be delivered to driver dropping off excellent phone manner,delivery driver polite and friendly 😀. I don't eat out because of my dietary needs thought I'd have a Treat thankyou very enjoyable 😀

There's absolutely no comparison to this place, I've eaten fish and chips all over the country but none have ever come close to Oceans. Fresh , clean and very very good quality.

"Consistently OK" is probably my best summary, they're in no way bad but also not exceptional. Portion sizes aren't very generous. What they are is consistently the same which is presumably why they win the awards they do. Reliably average fish and chips at around £10 each with a side as part of their meal deal.

Absolutely disgusting rip off of a place now, tiny badly cooked portions that they charge you the earth for. Ignorant staff that are more interested in online orders than dealing with customers at the counter, and when you complain the staff answer is if you don't like it go somewhere else. Message understood will be taking my business elsewhere as will my family and friends after 15 years of custom, diabolical place and staff but the boss needs to keep his Porsche running but not at my expense anymore with his rip off prices and deplorable staff. I love the fish and chips here. There is plenty of choice i.e. different sizes of fish, sausage, spam, and the usual sides of curry, peas, or gravy. Lunchtime box meals are varied and good value. It's take out only service

Great chippy,I go quite regularly, Friday tea time gets busy,personally I use the app they've got,works well never had a issue with it!

Sometimes they can serve you, sometimes they will take their own time and take like 20 minutes to serve you, I just wanted to purchase 2 fruits shoots, a 30 second process, and I had the exact change. I’m still waiting as I’m writing this, I’ve been waiting 15 minutes to be served and yet still not been served yet, for me this is horrible service, they did better in the past, now it’s just awful

Having read and heard so much about The Bearded Sailor, I had to visit. The shop was tidy, the staff were friendly, and the information on the wall informed me about the potatoes being used that day and where the fish had been caught. The emphasis on sustainability was appreciated. I spotted a mound of delicious-looking scraps. I enjoy mixing scraps with mushy peas or curry, so I ordered a portion, which was free. However, when I opened the packaging at our destination, I was disappointed to find no scraps, even though they were listed on my receipt. The haddock had a nice, crispy, light batter, although the fillet was a little dry. The chips were pale and slightly undercooked. The curry sauce was spicy but rather tasteless, and the peas were just fine. The halloumi fritter was delicious, with a light and crispy batter. I finally managed to order something other than the usual fish & chips, deciding to opt for the loaded chips with chicken strips. Not only did it look amazing, it tasted phenomenal! I'd been wanting to try it for a while and glad I did as I will definitely be ordering it again in the future. Mouthwatering! And you get to watch it being made in front of you. It looked like the member of staff was working on a piece of art, he definitely made every effort to make the food look and taste appealing. The food is always 👌 and although I have always been blown over by the standard of fish & chips (and service), it is definitely worth stepping out of your comfort zone to try the other menu options. The place has great reviews so have it a try and it was class. The fish was really fresh and the batter was really good, the chips were perfect to how I like them and even the vinegar that you spray on your chips wasn’t too strong! The staff was really nice and welcoming. The only thing I prefer from other chippys is the curry sauce which wasn’t my taste but would definitely be a favourite for others. Added bonus was the loyalty card which I will be filling up and coming back for a free chippy!

Finally tried The Bearded Sailor after a recommendation and it did not disappoint. My partner prefers chip shop curry sauce to the Chinese style we were given, but I've been told they have two so oh no we'll have to try it again to find out! Service was super friendly and quick, the option to order online and collect is great - although we didn't try it this time. Staff were able to answer questions about allergies with ease.

This is the best fish and chip shop around. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. The new additions to the menu superbly complement the staples of any fish and chip shop and provide an excellent menu to cater for all requirements.

I have not going to wetherby whaler pudsey ,because Breaded salior quality much better quality. But disappointed with it today 19:40 Ordered 2 potions of chips 1 fish and 1 drink 1 curry sauce £16.15. The 2 portions chips bearly had 20 chips in each portion for £3.68.food is lovely but not happy with portion not value for money.

Definitely the nicest and most authentic fish and chips in the area. Always friendly staff. My kids love the 'chip lollipops' while they're waiting for our order. In fact last night they were determined to walk a 2 mile round trip (they are only little) to collect fish and chips from here and refused to go anywhere else closer to home!

Amazing chips! Recommended to me by a mate who has lived in Horsforth for over 40 years. Great taste, great size of chips and portion (extra small in the picture) not over cooked. Friendly service too. Well defo come back again.

Really excellent fish and chips and ample portion sizes. Fresh beautifully well-cooked flaky fish covered in crispy batter, plenty of chips which were also very good with the added bonus of plenty of scraps to top it all off. First time trying here on the way back after the game at Headingly but most definitely will not be the last. Lovely people too. Probably just found our new favourite chippy ….

Well, all I can say is how gutted I am to have only discovered this gem two weeks ago. It’s hands down the best fish and chips in Horsforth (in my opinion!) and I’ve tried them all for many years. The fish is fresh and tasty, the chips soft but crispy and the peas are tasty rather than plain. Today I had the home made steak pie with gravy, peas and mint sauce, which was spectacular. Look no further folks, this is the place. Owners are lovely and service great. Thank you… you have new regulars! 😀⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I cannot recommend Woodside more. They have by far the best chips in West Yorkshire. The steak pie is a must, it’s one of the best I’ve ever had. Truly my favourite chippy in Leeds!

I never ever leave reviews but the food came hot, it was all delicious and decently priced. Definitely a staple place for when you’re hungry and don’t have too much money. Thank you guys! Gonna miss this place when I move

This place is my fav in UK! The batter on fish is awesome. The chips are perfect. Friendly service an all .. you can get bigger portions elsewhere but this is the quality portion. Great selection of drinks to go with it too.

Best fish and chips I've had from a chippy. The only let down was the fried halloumi HOWEVER absolutely everything else was outstanding to the point this place 100% still deserves a 5 star review.

We have moved here from London in early August and have been to Cove four times already. The fish is simply delicious, large and beautifully made every time and the chips are very generously heaped on. We love it. Prices went up October 1st for obvious reasons but it's absolutely still worth it and the quality means that we don't care, we will support Cove going forwards in return for great food. Staff are all very professional and courteous as well.

Hi the girls at the front are always polite. However disappointed in the peas they was runny and was defenitly not propper fish and chip shop peas tasted bland not propper chip shop peas. Also I ordered a lightly cooked special fish this came not lightly cooked. this was not a special fish after all it was haddock also was two fillets to make it special lol. this is not on a special fish should be a nice chunkk of cod maybe take the special off your menu. I will not be returning. I should be returning for my money back that's it Waste of time and money🗑

Well portion was tiny just look at it for the price. Dont find paying for chips if its adecwnt portion. Poor really. Also fed up of been a customer in a take away and been second to delivery orders while your stood trying to get lunch on a lunch break !!!

Fish was lovely, bright white and chunky. Very lightly battered but it was crispy. Chips were well cooked. The food hall atmosphere in The Core isn't exactly warm and cosy though. Not sure they can do much about that, but the food was nice.

The fish was fried with light batter and crispy. The portion was generous. The fries were a bit soggy. Onion rings were good.

This is fish and chips as it should be. Not the pretentious stuff you get in London or the weird (mostly batter) version you might have tried outside the United Kingdom. If you're a tourist and want to know why fish and chips have always been popular in the UK come here and try it. They even have 'scraps' and chip butties to take me back to my childhood.

It'd been several years since we'd been to The Man Behind the Curtain - before it had moved from above Flannels to below it in fact. We were delighted to find that the experience and quality of food were as good as they'd been before. Ahead of our meal we enjoyed a delicious Vermouth and snacks in the lounge area before being escorted to our table for the meal proper to begin. As when we'd visited previously each of the dishes was fantastic with Emancipation once again being a highlight. The duck dish that followed it was equally good. Service was excellent and at a nice, leisurely pace so the meal never felt rushed. The surroundings and music were as impressive as ever and it was just a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend an evening. Hats off to Michael O'Hare.

We dined at TMBTC last night and what an incredible experience! The food was absolutely spot on. We opted for the standard wine pairing and the service was absolutely incredible - Tom and Dom are a real credit to the restaurant. As it was my birthday they allowed us to tour the kitchen during service to see ‘behind the curtain’! An amazing night all round and we can’t wait to see what changes the new year brings!

Wow! What can I say….an excellent culinary experience. We had the taster menu with matching wine pairings and we were blown away with the food and drinks we were served. Not everything was as it seemed, but that’s the skill of the chefs and Michael O’Hare (who we actually met!). Highly recommend, it is expensive but you get what you pay for, the service from start to finish was impeccable.

First off, and surprisingly given the nature of the food, it was an utterly unpretentious experience. No stony faced waiters, no cold formal ambience, just a genuinely relaxed evening with warm and friendly staff. The kind of place (if not for the smart dress code) which makes you feel you could pop in for a quick bite to eat in your comfies! We went for the permanent collection with the prestige drinks pairing. I hadn't looked at the menu ahead of time so every time the table was reset for the next course, I was excited to see what I was going to get. And I wasn't disappointed. The food and presentation was delicious and just a whole lot of fun. My particular favourite was the pate and caviar! OK, it isn't cheap, but think of it as paying for an experience where the food is just included. We were there for about 3.5 hours in total and enjoyed every second. We were told they're due to launch a new menu, so I have no doubt we'll be back!

We've been wanting to come here for a couple of years and it certainly didn't disappoint. Yes; it's very expensive, the drinks menu is quite limited, but the food was like nothing we've ever eaten before. All of the dishes we're very imaginative, crazy, quirky, but most importantly delicious. We had the matched juice for each course which were equally surprising but all very tasty. The chefs clearly take pride in what they've created. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

How many different ways can you say wow?! What an experience. Definitely worth a visit, although due to the prices not somewhere you can visit too often, unless you're rolling in money! That being said for a special occasion treat it's well worth the expenditure. Each course delighted us just as much or more than the one before it. The staff were amazing, so attentive and friendly. I can't pick any faults not even a small one. The restaurant itself is trendy and opulent. Even the toilets are decadent. What a way to spend my birthday.

Lovely little pub. Only found it after searching Google for pub food and saw it's only a two minute walk from The Light, where we were heading for the cinema later. Had the full range of Timothy Taylor's cask ales on, so had three while I was there. Also had the Sunday Roast lunch (which is all they offer on Sundays), which was very nice. Nice friendly staff who are knowledgeable about the beers. Will have to try and pop in on another day of the week as I quite fancied the Steak and Ale Pie.

Disappointingly, my girlfriend and I decided to come to this pub for a bite to eat. This was on Friday at around 13:00. When we arrived, we asked the young lad behind the bar if we could have food menus, and he said they no longer do food as the kitchen was expensive to run. This was really disappointing when I was attracted to this place originally thanks to the recent reviews about how good the food is. Inside, they have a "chef specials" and "burgers" blackboard with nothing written on them. They presumably offer Sunday lunches, but call them and ask before making any trips and avoid any disappointment.

Walked in as the town hall clock and bells struck noon. And they were ready. As a massive Tim Taylor’s fan, this is the Mecca of English ale for me. Especially because it isn’t so easy to get up to Keighley without a car. Every TT beer available on cask here. Amazing. A small, cozy pub and a bit dark, but it was a dreary and rainy Monday. Quiet because the kitchen wasn’t open today and tomorrow (massive bummer). Barkeep was a young guy who seemed to be hungover but was passionate enough about the ales to nearly match my enthusiasm. Every beer was stellar, and I had a pint of every single one (well, the four I hadn’t been able to try yet). Naturally, great views of the town hall even though it was under renovation. Great experience and even better ales.

Very nice pub that serves yummy roasted food and giant Yorkshire puddings. We went in on Saturday noon for lunch on 30th of December and it wasn’t busy at all but t it got busier later. The food was nice and fresh and the ambiance was nice and cosy.

Checked out for Sunday Roast here after arriving from Liverpool - 👏👍choice. The Amstel beer and half pint of Guinness very welcoming for a warm day.

First time at this pub, came here for the food which looks amazing but the kitchen closed at 3 so can’t sample it. Google maps says they serve food now until 7pm so that’s wrong. Will have to come back. No proper cider, thought it may do as it does real ales

Popped in for a welcome break from sightseeing and tried the Tim Taylor's Landlord, Boltmaker and Golden Best beers. All were great, nice calm atmosphere in pub with excellent music choices!

This restaurant is fantastic. We had a lovely warm welcome when we arrived and it serves fantastic food at great prices. I can highly recommend the deconstructed scotch egg and the sea bass on a bed of bubble and squeak mash. The mocktails are delicious and a great alternative for those not wanting alcohol. Our server was very friendly and efficient and the food came out quickly (although it didn't feel rushed). We will be visiting again soon.

Great food. The onion bhaji battered cod was amazing! The interior design was very nice with little beach hut type things you can sit in. Wonderful cocktail menu and quite a few gins. The cappuccino tasted better than what it looked. And although we didn't have dessert the menu sounded very nice I'm not sure I could've chosen just one. The main menu however didn't have very much choice especially for vegetarians.

Amazing food and lovely staff who remembered it was my son's birthday when I made a casual remark when booking the table.. very reasonable prices and left with my belly filled to the brim with delicious food. Highly recommended!

Cocktails that we tried were all nice, I like the screwball one which was only a fiver. Starter was really nice, the goats cheese parcels, my main wasn't anything special, the chickpea and spinach burger. Although my friends liked their main courses. I would go back but maybe wait till they changed their menu for some nicer veggie options.

This place is fantastic. The staff was amazing and the food was tasty. The cocktails were great as well as the beer. Recommend the cherry drop for a sweet tooth. The Scottish haddock fish and chips tasted very fresh and the selection of malt vinegars perfectly complimented the fish. The mushy peas are the best I've had so far. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great twists on British classics! Went in for lunch and had a very pleasant time! I ordered the Onion Bhaji battered Fish with Rice and Curry Sauce, beautifully cooked and very delicious. Service was excellent, no complaints here. Everyone was nice and made us feel very comfortable.

A restaurant for people who don't enjoy eating. Extremely over-priced and very bland food. Service wasn't great as we had to ask for things twice, and noticed other tables having to ask where their food was as they had waited so long. A service charge was also added to a drinks order when we were still sat at the bar. Staff were all polite which was the only redeeming feature of the place.

First of all great staff in the restaurant! Served by a nice chap probably the manager very pleasant and attentive. We ordered sausage chips and curry sauce and a large seniors haddock chips, bread butter and tea. The sausage (two in a portion) were poor quality better to use McWhinneys the chips were good but on the small side but the curry sauce not our taste. The fish was very poor tasting either on the turn or pollack likely on the turn the batter was good and not overly thick the bread average but with plentiful butter and the tea nice and strong ! All in all a mixed review but attention to detail would raise it to a four … give it a go!!!

Went to takeaway Sunday at 14:00. Never again. Chips hard and fish soggy. £40 wasted. A basic tip - don't sell customers fish and chips that have clearly been sat there too long. In the long run customers won't come back, like me. To be honest only went to you because Hillicroft is closed on Sundays. Go spy on them to see how good fish and chips are made and served.

The food at Mermaid Fish and Chip Shop in Morley was absolutely amazing! The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and tender inside, and the chips were golden, fluffy, and cooked just right. Everything was hot, fresh, and full of flavour with really generous portions. It’s now under new management, and you can really see the difference – the service is fantastic! The staff are warm, friendly, and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. Definitely one of the best fish and chip shops around, highly recommend!

Lovely fresh food, crispy battered fish. Good value for money. Very attentive and welcoming staff. Well worth the distance traveled. Will definitely be visiting again.

We ordered fish and chips 3times for delivery. It was a joke . £38.50 and the fish were so small about the size of a large mobile phone . Had to make a sandwich with it to fill me up . Will be getting five Chinese meals next time for the same money . Delivery should not mean little portion size ripoff. This is half the meal forgot to take a photo but trust me these are not big plates😡

One of the most pitiful portions of Fish&chips for £9.50 in Morley. Much better at Hillicroft or Miners. Very very poor. Would recommend going to surrounding fish and chip shops for value and quality. Photo attached, not even a full fillet of fish.

Good quality food and nice atmosphere. Fish was nearly twice as big and prices have actually been reduced. Beautiful succulent flaky fish. Golden brown chips. Lets Evidently it is under new management, really nice people who seem to care about the quality of product and service they are giving . Definitely coming back.

Went here for fish and chips take out. The fish itself was fantastic. Light tasting, well made cod. Generally coming from Canada I don’t like cod but there is something that the British do that makes it taste so much better. The downfall is the greasy,oily chips. I must admit that’s something left to be desired and didn’t eat it all. I didn’t take a photo like I normally do. Experience was good. I’d recommend. The ratings average is pretty accurate at 4.

First time at Graveleys in a very long time, and definitely not a bad decision! The Fish and Chips were to an exceptional taste and quality. The service was polite, friendly and food was served up in no time, fresh and hot. If I only I had a chip shop as good as this near to my house. Well done 👏

Hands down got the best chippy I've been to in a long time,been six days in a row for lunch.Chips,battered sausage and fish consistency crispy, mushy peas are stunning,curry sauce is spicy without being overbearing.portion sizes are average.They also do meal deal offers which are hard to beat.Coffee is on the large size (with meal deal) and hot.

One of the good spots to get a decent fish and chips. It is quick and nicely made. Staffs are nice and there is plenty of seats. If you’re nearby, don’t think twice, give them a visit.

Fish and chips were both great, I ordered the smaller portion which still had a very generous portion of chips but the fish piece was a little bit small compared to other fish and chip shops. Both were cooked really well though, chips were crispy and hot and the fish batter was really good. Got my order immediately and staff seemed really nice. Would defo go back if I'm in the mood for fish and chips.

Just been in on a Saturday at 4pm for a sausage and chips. The chips are clearly re-heated from yesterday and are completely inedible. I’ll not be returning.

Was very disappointed with the fish and chips I bought from the Village fish and chip shop. Normally I find their food very tasty but this last one was terrible, I ended up throwing over half of the portion of chips in the bin they were unedible. The fish wasn't that much better. I will think twice before buying from there again. To rub salt into the wound the price of the fish and chips has been increased substantially.

Been meaning to write this for ages. We're lucky to have such an amazing chippy in the village. Been using the place for 2 years now, a couple of times a month. We have never once had a problem with anything on the menu. I particularly love the scampi. Keep up the good work.

The worst fish and chips I have ever had. If I could give zero stars I would. £25 for small, stale fish. The smell should have alerted us to their taste as our house reeked as soon as we unpacked the food. The chips were not cooked freshly, and was given chips which had been cooked previously. The overcooked fish cake had barely any fish in it and was very dry. The mushy peas were the worst…..they smelled absolutely foul and tasted even worse. I will not go back.
