Old Ebbitt Grill is a historic tavern that has been a favorite dining spot for presidents and politicians since 1856. The restaurant's Victorian-style decor, marble bar, and mahogany booths create an elegant atmosphere reminiscent of high-class Western saloons. Known for its famous oyster specials and Chesapeake seafood dishes, the menu also features hamburgers made with locally raised grass-fed beef, sandwiches, salads, pasta, meat dishes, and cheese platters.
Absolutely incredible. This place was recommended to me, and I recommend it to everyone. I had the swordfish, and it was tasty. But that was nothing compared to the oysters that we got, as well as the scallops. Absolutely divine; it was clear that the food was fresh. I also cannot recommend the bread pudding enough. It was incredible. This place is a little pricey, but well worth the money you pay.

Sat at the Main bar to have a bite to eat. Our bartender, Jake was great! Very attentive. Sent us a dessert for my birthday as well as the Fried Green Tomatoes (so delicious!). Oysters were nice and fresh and the broth the mussels were in was amazing. Definitely order more bread! Thanks for the tasty NY Sour, Jake from Statefarm!

First time here and wow—what a great experience! I was kind of bummed about missing the first UT game while in D.C., but to my surprise, they had it playing on the only TV in the back bar, right where I was sitting. Pretty sure my UT shirt had something to do with that. 😉 The longer I stayed, the more impressed I was. Drinks were on point, food was delicious, and the bartender (wish I remembered his name! But he is in the picture) was super friendly and accommodating. He suggested the Great Kiss Oysters and… holy cow, they were amazing. Fun fact: he told me Old Ebbitt is the only place that sells them. Highly recommend the oysters, and honestly the whole place. It was pretty busy when I walked in, so do yourself a favor and make a reservation!

Old Ebbitt Grill in Washington, DC, is a classic dining spot that lives up to its reputation. The atmosphere is historic and charming, making it a perfect place to enjoy a memorable meal in the capital. I tried the crab dip and the fried calamari, and both were absolutely outstanding—the crab dip was rich and flavorful, while the calamari was perfectly crispy and seasoned just right. The combination made for one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in DC. If you’re visiting the city and want a taste of iconic local flavors, Old Ebbitt Grill is a must.
Toufil W — Google review
Great oyster selection. Specials during certain hours. Easy to make a reservation and the bar staff was very friendly. Cocktails are a heavy pour - you get your money's worth. Enjoyable long time establishment that feels very DC.

Old Ebbitt Grill is a must-visit if you’re in DC! The pasta was amazing and the food looked gorgeous too 😎 Make a reservation- wait time can be 1-2hours without one. Definitely try the signature crab cake! One is big enough to share 🙌 The fries 🍟 were also super tasty!
Chloe — Google review
Great place to eat. Our tour guide suggested it and I’m glad we went. Our server was excellent. He was knowledgeable about the menu items and continued to check on us especially after my boyfriend said he was cold and ordered a coffee. I had the meat loaf and he had the famous crab cakes. Both dishes were solid. We also had the Oyster deviled eggs which we enjoyed. We definitely suggest this restaurant for a great meal while in D.C.

We are from out of town and just LOVED this place. Charles M was our server and gave us the best recommendations and is truly a terrific server and seems like an awesome human. We really enjoyed our dinner and ate every single bite of everything! It was so good from the bread to dessert. We had the pork chop, spaghetti and meatballs, beer and the Summer Night drink. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Eclectic restaurant
Rose's Luxury is a popular New American restaurant located in a converted townhouse in Capitol Hill. Known for its eclectic small plates menu, the cozy and chic decor adds to the dining experience. Despite long lines in the past, it has maintained its reputation as a Michelin-starred restaurant. Now, diners can use an online system to book same-day reservations, making it easier to enjoy dishes like the legendary lychee and pork salad.
I was gifted a dinner here and two of my adult children and I arrived for a Thursday evening service. The setting is beautiful, like an outdoor courtyard, but inside! The staff was welcoming, energetic and friendly. Throughout the evening, attention was showered upon us with each new course. The cocktails we ordered were well made and delicious. Each course was delivered with an explanation. Although we enjoyed some items more than others, we tried everything. It was delicious and we were stuffed when we were done. If you are looking for a special evening with delicious food and great service, I highly recommend.

Absolutely loved our experience at Rose’s Luxury! The food was outstanding — creative, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff were genuinely warm and made us feel so welcome from start to finish. Every detail, from the atmosphere to the service, made the evening unforgettable. Truly one of the best dining experiences in D.C.!
Feifei D — Google review
I’m surprised I’ve been here and not left a review before because my experiences have always been DIVINE. This place is worth the drive every time from Virginia. I highly recommend a reservation and keeping an eye on their system for the time you’d like. It’s easy to book through Resy! Now the experience. We had Daniel this time and he was as lovely as our other team members we’ve had in the past. He was whimsical and made great recommendations. We’ve had the fixed menu before and came on a Tuesday they offered à la carte because we specifically wanted the options we loved in the past. We started with a Lychee Lemon Fizz which is non alcoholic but refreshing and went well with dinner! There was also a margarita which was spicy just how I enjoy. We had their truffled Madeline bread service that was delicious. Then we went in on the Pork & Lychee Salad and the Super Charred Cabbage. The flavors of each of these were fantastic, just as we remember. Then we enjoyed the spicy tteokbokki which was PERFECTION. Simply fabulous. Whoever has the receipt, hit me up. Then for the finale, we decided to enjoy one more pork & lychee salad along with a tres leches cake. Little sweet and savory action to finish the evening. Again the hospitality among the entire staff is lovely, inviting, and incredible. The food is simply delicious and I’ll always be back for more. Parking is paid on the street & plenty of it. They take into account any sensitivities when possible for dining. You’ll feel special and valued as a patron every time. Enjoy!

Incredible experience here twice! Most recently went to celebrate my anniversary, did the "choose your own adventure" menu at the chef's counter. Delicious options (famous pork & lychee salad is a MUST), good portion sizes, and top notch service (big shout out to Lindsay S. for making our celebration extra special with an additional dessert!) Also love how casual/relaxed this place is (and not be exorbitantly expensive), and yet has maintained its Michelin Star for several years. Just goes to show you can deliver a superb dining experience without the traditional fanciness/priciness. This place is a must-try in DC!

Truly I can say that I had one of the best meals of my life at Rose’s. Put it this way i ate there in February (‘25) and I’m still thinking of that meal every often. The service here is some of the best in DC, from the moment you walk in and are greeted by the hostess down to the kind and quick person who refills your water before you even realized you had sipped half your glass already. I enjoyed the variety of flavors and fusions of food groups. 5/5 service 5/5 recommend to others 5/5 will return
Aly — Google review
Six of us had the tasting menu and every item was phenomenal. Our favorites were pork and lychee salad, tuna tartare, and the super charred cabbage. Each dish was visually appealing and an explosion of flavors. The service was amazing. They even ran to a sister restaurant to find a bottle of wine for us. Loved the energy of the restaurant. Highly recommend Rose’s Luxury!
Michael C — Google review
The food was great. Be prepared for a very rich meal. I am glad I paced myself and didn’t feel the need to clean every plate. The vibe is casual. They serve some of the dishes on very cute tea sets. Loved that.
Melanie Z — Google review
Never fails! Rose's Luxury is a must! The good was amazing! I'm giving 4 stars because the kitchen did mess up the timing of our food across all courses. There was three of us and they would bring out dishes for 1 or 2 of the party. Waiting for the remaining dish meant that someone ate an almost cold dish. But our server was amazing and apologized for the inconvenience. I would still recommend.

Brunch restaurant
Le Diplomate is a classic French restaurant that offers outdoor seating and a cozy atmosphere. It pays tribute to the iconic French cafe culture, providing a comfortable setting for enjoying familiar French dishes, brunch favorites, and drinks. The restaurant's warm and inviting ambiance features comfy booths, extended windows, and a tiled floor that gives it a casual patio-like feel. The menu boasts an array of French classics like bouillabaisse and onion soup alongside international favorites such as burgers and half roast chickens.
My lunch at Le Diplomate in D.C. was truly exquisite. The atmosphere is authentically French and wonderfully charming. It is full of energy, conversation, and a fun vibe. Since it was a gorgeous day in the 70s, I was especially grateful to sit outside on the covered patio and enjoy the afternoon. The French onion soup was a highlight — one of the best I’ve had, it rivals Balthazar in New York City. The champagne was excellent, and the crème brûlée was the perfect finish to the meal. The service was also very good. I highly recommend this wonderful and vibrant French restaurant in the heart of D.C.
Virginia H — Google review
First, it should be noted the atmosphere of the restaurant is beautiful and would be the perfect setting for an evening outing. The service was great, and our server was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. But as far as food goes, it was underwhelming. Beautifully presented but in taste and flavor it severely lacked and for the price point of each dish, was disappointing. I would recommend coming here perhaps for drinks and atmosphere, less so for the food.
Hailey C — Google review
Le Diplomate is an incredible spot for date night. It’s right on 14th Street and perfectly captures that classic European brasserie atmosphere. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but absolutely worth it for a special evening. I highly recommend the steak frites, escargot, and duck. The duck, in particular, has a subtle orangey note that’s unlike anything I’ve ever tasted — rich, balanced, and memorable. We’ve also tried the artichokes before, which weren’t really my favorite, but everything else has been consistently excellent. The indoor dining room is elegant, but we’ve only ever sat outdoors, where the ambiance is just as lovely. We love this place and will definitely be back!
Rich M — Google review
The whole experience was stellar. Pablo was our server, and it was truly the best service we’ve had in Washington. He was knowledgeable about the menu, offered fantastic recommendations, and made our dining experience feel really special. He was attentive and quick to take care of anything we needed. We ordered the steak frites, onion soup, and steak tartare, and every dish was absolutely delicious. I would definitely come back here the next time I’m in Washington.
Min J — Google review
They nailed the French bistro/cafe vibe!! It is so cool to sit inside or on the patio and enjoy their food. One of the best burgers in the city! And the mushroom tart was flaky and rich and flavor packed!! Highly recommend!
Daniel L — Google review
My experience at this restaurant was excellent with the food and the service. The decor of the place was very pretty. The food was delicious. The coffee was super delicious, with an intense and tasty flavor. I loved it. The waiter who served us, I have to say this. We had a small incident with the coffee, but he resolved it super quickly. He was very attentive from the beginning, very kind and respectful. We were super happy with the attention from Mr. Amaya. I have to mention him because he gave us excellent service. I highly recommend this restaurant. Everything was excellent: the food, the service, the atmosphere, everything was a very nice experience! Highly recommended!!
M — Google review
Love the aesthetic and vibe of this place moreso than the food or drinks. The burger was good (not cooked as ordered = medium) and the scallops were good. Nothing phenomenal. Old fashioned was good. Just all around a very ok/good experience.
Colton S — Google review
Midnight in Paris, but Make It D.C. There’s something about Le Diplomate that makes you believe in romance again — even if it’s just between you and your glass of Bordeaux. The lights shimmer like a Parisian dream, the chatter hums like a love song, and every bite feels like it’s flirting with you. The duck ragu? Intoxicating. The steak frites? A perfect affair of flavor and nostalgia. And the chocolate torte? Dangerous — the kind of sweet you shouldn’t trust but can’t resist anyway. Come here on a Friday night when the city feels alive. Order the wine, toss your hair, and let the night do what it does best — remind you that love isn’t gone, it’s just evolving. 💋 Pro tip: Don’t wait for someone to take you here. Go for yourself — Paris is more fun when you’re the main character.

Ben's Chili Bowl is a historic eatery that has been serving up spicy hot dogs, chili-cheese fries, and milkshakes since it opened on U Street in August 1958. The restaurant has played a unique role in the community, staying open past curfew during the 1968 race riots to serve activists, police, and firemen.
Awesome historic restaurant located next to the Lincoln Theater. Great chili, burgers, dogs, smokies, and fries. We’ve been there several times and always enjoy going back. If it’s good for celebrities and presidents it’s good for us! Reasonable prices and great food. Order at the counter and sit either inside or out. Would suggest the Metro or an Uber if going.
Rob S — Google review
This is definitely a historic and iconic place, and I can see why so many people love it. The atmosphere is great, it really gives you that classic American vibe. As for the food, we liked it, but to be honest, I’d rate it 4 out of 5. French fries weren't our favorite. Also, they forgot one of the milkshakes we ordered, and we had to wait quite a while for it. It was finally brought out when we had already finished eating and were getting ready to leave.
Anastasiia S — Google review
A classic American diner with chili dishes and more. Juicy and tasty hot dogs, very good burgers and sandwiches. The fries are really good—I personally prefer them without cheese, as I think the cheese makes them a bit worse, but that’s just a matter of taste. If you want to dine in a typical tourist-style American diner, this is the right place for you. I had a burger with cheesy fries, then more fries and a hot dog. Everything was good, and the prices were fair! I would suggest improving the way order numbers are called out for dish delivery, since they are hard to hear because of the background noise and the loudspeaker. Also, I’d remove the fries served in the paper bag, which feel a bit underwhelming. Highly recommended!
Riccardo — Google review
This was an amazing experience for me! So much history in a landmark! The hot dog burst juice as soon as a put a fork in it! Delicious chili cheese fries and this homemade coconut cake with pineapple was SINFUL! The staff are so friendly, they make you feel right at home. Their original spot across the street is being remodeled, but there temporary space was just as amazing. You’ve won my heart, Ben’s Chili Bowl! I will be back! Cool merch as well. Not sure how I’m going to fit it!
Staci J — Google review
Was disappointed the original is closed for renovations, but had a great experience here from start to finish. A guy outside - security or maybe just on break - saw I have a limp and a cane and opened the door for me which is always nice. Guy at the counter was patient and friendly about making recommendations. Now, the chili fries came out with no chili - I didn’t realize until after I took the photo and started eating, but the counter guy was very apologetic and brought me fresh ones without taking the originals - which were still pretty warm – away. Then he saw me starting to eat the originals after I finished the replacements with chili, and he offered to give me more chili for those originals. Hell yeah. Talk about making it right! And then, there’s a loop of history/media coverage of Ben’s that they play with sound on the TVs, which was a very cool experience. It elevated the whole eating experience watching the history and media coverage of the place as I ate! And the food was bomb. Other staff was very friendly and helpful too. Brought my food to my table when they saw my disability instead of making me walk up to the counter to get it, which I had no problem doing, but it was just nice. And then another staffer offered to take care of my dirty tray for me. A++
Michael K — Google review
A must stop in DC. Had a friendly greeting and was seated promptly. We were lucky it wasn't super busy, but there are 2 rooms of seating beyond the front counter entrance. Had chili, half-smoke chili dog, corn bread, and banana pudding. All were so delicious! Music they played was awesome too...it was a nice lunch!!
Heather W — Google review
Great place with tons of history. It’s a great midnight snack. Definitely enjoyed the half smokes. We tried both the original and spicy and prefer the original. The onion rings were decent too but portions are too small.
Leslie L — Google review
I have such a special memory tied to this place, I took photos there back in February 2025 for my school art show, and they came out perfect for my 60s-themed fashion project. That series actually won Best Photography for my AP photo art show! The classic vibe of Ben’s Chili Bowl made it all come together so naturally. And of course, I absolutely love Ms. Virginia Ali, she’s such a kind and inspiring person, and the soul of this DC landmark.

Bakery
Coffee shop
Baked & Wired is an artsy bakery and coffeehouse located in Georgetown, known for its signature granola and oversized cake cups. The cake cups come in various flavors such as Pretty Bitchin' peanut butter and chocolate, Karens Birthday chocolate cake, Texas Sheetcake, and Chocolate Doom. Despite the popularity of their cake cups, the bakery also offers delicious normal-size birthday cakes.
A large variety of cupcakes and all are delicious. Favorites are the Vegan Oreo and German Chocolate Cake (both shown). Can be a big line at peak times so would recommend coming earlier in the day. The coffee is good & everyone is very nice! Very limited seating.
Jamie S — Google review
A great place for cookies, cupcakes, and other sweets. You have to make a quick decision on what you want to get because they start asking what you want right after you walk in if there’s a line. Overall really good baked goods. Highly recommend the lemon crunch bar, great creativity and even better lemon curd. Cookies were solid, got ginger molasses and peanut butter. Cupcakes were nice too, a little pricey though. Super nice area with a little bridge nearby and other restaurants and bakeries. A little hard to find parking.
Steve C — Google review
Best cupcakes we've had perhaps in decades. We tried the "Chocolate Doom" and "Razmanian Devil" flavors and both cupcakes were exceptionally moist, light and airy with a perfectly balanced, and topped with a not overly sweet rich, creamy, smooth frosting, which enhanced the cake flavors. Worth going out of your way to try. See my posted photos if you need further pursuasion.
Howard S — Google review
The chocolate peanut butter and dirty chai cupcakes weren’t quoted as best sellers or favorites of the employees, but both were really excellent! The strawberry, dulce de leche, and blueberry lemon are popular choices. Our flat whites were excellent too. The employees were nice enough to explain what a tallat is (a Spanish coffee drink similar to a cortado) despite the long line behind us.
Andrew Z — Google review
We are visiting from Az and never just sit and go to a coffee shop but we were recommended to this place from someone who worked at the Barnes & Noble up the street and we could not be more happy with the recommendation. The coffee & the pastries are out of this world plus gluten free and vegan options are a plus. We have been here 3 times and if we lived closer we would be regulars!

A Sweet DC Icon That Still Deserves the Hype Baked & Wired is a Georgetown must for anyone with a sweet tooth—or a serious love for great coffee. Back in the heyday of DC’s cupcake craze, the debate was always Georgetown Cupcake vs. Baked & Wired. Personally? I think Baked & Wired still wins. The cupcakes are generous in size, super moist with just the right amount of frosting (not too sweet, not too skimpy), and each flavor is paired with a cute, hand-illustrated sign that makes choosing feel like a mix between a gallery visit and a dessert decision crisis. The vibe? Artsy, bustling, and delightfully chaotic. Be prepared: it’s almost always crowded. I don’t think I’ve ever visited when it wasn’t packed. The line moves quickly, but it’s definitely not the place for lingering inside—unless you’re lucky enough to snag a coveted seat. I managed to grab a spot outside, which felt like winning a little cupcake lottery. Also worth noting: the coffee and tea game here is strong. So whether you’re stopping by for an afternoon pick-me-up or a treat-yourself moment, it’s always worth the wait. Baked & Wired is one of those rare places that has stood the test of time in DC—and continues to deliver.

The cupcakes were really good and so was the coffee. This place deserves all the hype. Good service as well.

If you are going to get cupcakes in DC come here! We got the cherry blossom and the German chocolate and both were delicious. Both were soft and moist. Completely different tastes but both very good, and fit their names.

Mid-Atlantic restaurant (US)
American restaurant
Restaurant
The Dabney, located in the up-and-coming Shaw neighborhood, offers a rustic dining experience in a former row house. Chef Jeremiah Langhorne presents Mid-Atlantic cuisine with a focus on seafood from the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The restaurant's charming contemporary farmhouse aesthetic and use of seasonal ingredients from local sources contribute to its appeal. While it may be on the higher end in terms of price, its accolades and critical reception make it worth considering for an upscale dining experience.
Shew.. Lots could be said. But ill keep it short in the long list of long-winded reviews. Phenomenal, The food, the service, the vibe... Wanted to keep it short but I NEED TO ADD... Exceptional service from The Dabney team! My buddy Pratt joked about a dish with the server, saying it would have been better with a Chicharrone.. The server came out with some fresh pork rinds, salt, lime and hot sauce. Hilarious and thoughtful.

Overall we enjoyed the food on the 8 course tasting menu, but there were a few duds such as the “crab” cake which was mostly asparagus. The wine pairing was really disappointing and we really didn’t enjoy most of the glasses. Service was great and the restaurant itself is incredible! Overall, some of the dishes were weak and for the cost at $235/pp I can’t say I’d come back or recommend this when I have had much better food and experiences for less at Michelin starred locations in DC.
Ryan C — Google review
Positives: - Ambiance was great, the large open hearth and kitchen were beautiful. - Everything tasted delicious. The sourdough tartine and tomato small plates were amazing, highly recommend! - The service was great, zero complaints! Negatives: - The fact that the pork prime rib is listed as a "family style" dish is crazy. The connotation behind labeling something "family style" is that it's meant to share comfortably amongst 3-4 people. It was the size of a main dish, one person could have easily finished it. There is nothing family style about any of the dishes on the menu. The problem here isn't that dishes are small and expensive, that's fine and expected! The problem is that the menu is lying to you. I think if they stuck to the well established norm of an appetizer and a main dish section on the menu, it would avoid unnecessary confusion. After the "family style"(main dish for one) pork prime rib we had to order more "small plates" (appetizers) in order to finish our meal. The staff was very attentive and noticed that we were upset with the portion size so they brought us complimentary fried catfish sandwiches which we appreciated, the sandwiches were very good! I'd recommend people eat here, the food is very good! Just ignore the labels on the menu and everything will be fine.

Absolutely the coolest dining experience and best meal of my life. 5 course tasting menu was phenomenal. The atmosphere of the kitchen and being able to watch their craft with the open flame grill leaves you staring at the kitchen drooling over each plate as it comes out
Ryker S — Google review
Loved the atmosphere of the Dabney and the open fire/ambiance is great! However, the whole experience was consistently lacking that my “wow, yum!” factor. First off, I reserved seats at the bar because we love sitting at the bar - but we were instead seated at a high top table away from the bar which meant we didn’t have fast service or someone consistently present for recommendations. Next, the cider pour was the smallest pour of a beverage I’ve ever seen. Then the near $30 scallop dish comes with just one scallop…overall, the plates are exceedingly small (even for seasoned Michelin Star going patrons). And the wait was consistently a little long for a Thursday night. So at the end of the experience, we opted to skip ordering more food or desert and go to one of the neighboring restaurants near by. Here was our order: Sweet potato sandwich Arugula Salad Hearth Vegetables Pastrami Pork Belly (skip! So tough, could barely cut through it) Rockfish (the best plate) Scallop (overpriced) Non-Alcoholic Cider Forgotten Sister mezcal cocktail

Arriving a few minutes before my 6 p.m. reservation, I was greeted warmly and promptly shown to my high-top seat at the bar. A choice of water quickly arrived, and I found myself in the perfect spot: a view of the entire bar, the street outside, the entrance, and the distant kitchen. From there, I could watch the orchestration of the dining experience unfold seamlessly. Nearby, a couple was experiencing a tasting menu for the first time. Our server, Sarah, was patient, friendly, and thorough, guiding them with ease and care. Her professionalism was equally clear in her recommendations for me. Deferring wine pairings to Sarah and the sommelier, Christian, proved to be a wise decision—each course and pairing exceeded expectations. The food was, in a word, outstanding. Seven courses arrived, each one distinct, beautifully executed, and consistently beyond expectation. My favorite dish of the evening was the roasted vegetables. The aroma carried from the woodfired oven, and each piece was cut into perfect bite-sized portions. They were elegantly arranged with farro and fresh herbs from the restaurant’s garden, standing upright above a delicate layer of ricotta cheese that tied the flavors together beautifully. At the close of the evening, I walked to the back to observe the kitchen. I saw Chef Langhorne offering gentle, clear instruction to a new team member. When finished, he took the time to greet me personally, thank me, and ask for feedback. His humility and genuine hospitality left as strong an impression as the meal itself. I highly recommend The Dabney—a place where food, service, and heart come together flawlessly.

My husband and I had a wonderful anniversary experience at Dabney DC on 10/24. Our wait staff was amazing, especially Lucy! She walked us through the menu and chef’s specials. My husband and I chose a beautiful 32oz ribeye. I adore eating at restaurants where the chef and staff remain committed to the craft of favorable food that is responsibly sourced from humane farms along the East Coast. Even the chef took a moment to pause and say hello! We have to get some more kudos for this dedicated team. James Beard, Michelin, knock knock!

Phenomenal dinner for my husband with friends. We went a little crazy and spent way too much, but the food was so fantastic we’ll treasure the memory. Some standouts for us were the scallops and pork belly. Sugar toads and beef cheeks were delicious and unique, don’t skip the sweet potato rolls

Restaurant
Anju is a cozy restaurant with brick walls and outdoor seating, offering contemporary Korean comfort food. It is the latest venture from the Fried Rice Collective, known for CHIKO. Anju emerged from the ashes of Chef Danny Lee's original Mandu restaurant after a fire. The restaurant pays homage to its past while elevating Korean cuisine under the guidance of Chef Angel Barreto.
Be aware, there are a lot of steps/stairs leading up to the table. As for the food, everything here is top-notch quality. We had brunch here for the first time, and it did not disappoint. My dosirak meal was absolutely delicious and satisfying. The pork cutlets (donkatsu) were incredibly tasty, with high-quality meat. The Korean curry was a pleasant surprise—it wasn’t the artificial kind I expected. Instead, they made it from scratch using healthy ingredients, and it was wonderfully flavorful with donkatz. The banchan—cucumber pickle, kimchi, and lotus root—were a refreshing kick Kimchi was way too sour to me but it’s probiotic bomb with the sourness, it’s was ok. Galbi steak and egg Red lettuce is a symbol of the Korean wrap salad, always paired with meats. I loved the attention to detail in the flavor combinations Will come back for dinner sometime soon. Hopefully there will be options for brown rice or mixed grain bop. Side dishes like organic egg jangjorim or danmuji kimchi, anchovy etc could be fun options if added.

My partner and I came here for brunch and absolutely loved it. We ordered the chicken and waffles, steak and eggs, and tater tots, and everything was delicious. The chicken and waffles were our favorite. The portions were generous, the food was perfectly cooked, and the cocktails were just as impressive. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, and the service was excellent. Our waiter gave great recommendations and made us feel right at home. Overall, it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Highly recommend this spot for a relaxed and satisfying brunch.

The interiors of Anju are very warm and inviting. The staff is very friendly and the food came out fairly quickly. The actual dishes were average in terms of flavor. The dumplings were not very flavorful and didn’t taste very Korean. The fried broccolini also felt out of place — it lacked flavor and didn’t really fit the rest of the menu in my opinion. The tofu bibimbap also tasted under seasoned but it was not bad. The kimchi Jiggae was the best dish out of the ones we ordered - it had tender pieces of pork and tofu, but it could have been a little richer and spicier. I would also argue that free kimchi or banchan at a Korean restaurant is a must. I will applaud this place for its large portion sizes. Overall, I think this place gives you a lot of food for its price but I don’t think I would come back here for great Korean food!

I went here for dinner with a few friends after grabbing a very difficult reservation. We are late (8pm) and the place was packed and hopping. We split two appetizers and three mains between the three of us and it was more than enough food. We started out with the Chikin and Mandu. The Chikin consisted of MASSIVE wings that are delicious. Definitely try this starter! For mains , we got Korean “Jambalaya”, Ssam Board, and Yeomso Jjajangyeon (goat). Everything was really good and we were stuffed. If I went back, it would be hard to try new stuff and not just get these again! I love how this spot is nestled right in DuPont circle. Very close and very good. Check it out!

The dak manu was weird to be honest, I understand it’s fusion but personally didn’t think they paired particularly well together. The beef yukhoe was again definitely fusion - no raw egg, no Asian pear, random chia seeds, random lotus root chips, sweeter than traditional yukhoe … but it’s a pretty good starting point for those that have never had it before and it still tasted good, just not traditional Korean food. Which was fine, because that’s not what they’re claiming to be! Cocktails were awesome, bartender was really friendly.

Had a birthday dinner at Anju in DC. We had Panchan (set of three) Soy-brined Chayote, Sweet Lotus Root, Mul kimchi and Palace Ddukbokgi, Korean "Jambalaya", Broccolini Twigim and kids had Chikin. The food was very good but the vegan/vegetarian options are very limited. They had no juice for kids and they did not offer any sweet or a pastry as it was a birthday dinner. In terms of the place itself, they do have rubber grips but I found the stairs going up and a step down to get to the bathroom a bit slippery. A lady fell down in front of the bathroom right next to us. They did have a sign there to be careful but that was not that visible.

Cozy bar atmosphere. Super friendly. Amazing dishes. Don’t be afraid to try the chefs tasting menu. It’s well portioned for solo diners. Bar team is so friendly, especially M!

Highly recommend and will be back! No wait to sit at the bar on a Saturday night without a reservation. Great service and delicious drinks and food, including vegetarian options. Had the Mandu, Yache Mandu, Palace Ddukbokgi, Chikin, and the Pat Brownie Sundae. The sundae was my least favorite but still good. I highly recommend the Palace Ddukbokgi! The bartender recommended it and I’m so glad I went with his suggestion. When I saw rice cake on the menu I immediately thought of hard rice cakes but this is not that. They’re soft and chewy (like a thick noodle log) with veggies (I added tofu) in a sweet sauce that is to die for!

Founding Farmers DC is a cooperative-grower-owned restaurant that offers farm-to-table American cuisine in a rustic setting. The establishment prides itself on making everything from scratch, using ingredients from trusted farmers. Their Hanukkah menu features holiday favorites like matzo ball soup, glazed chicken, brisket, honey-glazed salmon, potato latkes, and sufganiyot.
A downtown restaurant, very close to the White House. The place is large, spread over two floors, and well designed inside, featuring a piano bar and a central counter. The staff is quick, friendly, and efficient in answering any questions about the dishes. The food is excellent, and the prices are in line with what is offered. Both the sandwich and the meat platter were outstanding. And if you want to finish on a high note, the cream-filled profiteroles are simply fabulous. Six big, delicious ones—I ate them all. A small note: I would suggest adding a cutlery rest, and also serving more Brie in the Brie-and-apple appetizer—it was almost invisible. Highly recommended!

Food is great and fresh. I got the cheeseburger and fried okra. My husband got the chicken fried steak meal with gravy, macaroni and cheese, green beans and a waffle. No complaints. All very good. Andy was our waitress on both occasions and she was great. Ambience is very nice and bright. I would definitely recommend.

Every staff member we encountered was pleasant and professional. The host was welcoming and our server was extremely attentive. The food was very fresh. The macaroni and cheese is the best I’ve ever tasted. The coconut cream pie made an excellent dessert. I’m sure I will be back again in the near future.

OMG every bite was absolutely delicious! My Straw & Hay pasta was perfect. I always get nervous with meals that have bacon because it makes it too salty but that was not the case with this dish. My husband loved his chicken noodle soup. The chicken was so tender and flavorful. I’m so glad someone recommended this restaurant to us. We really enjoyed our meals!

My ride-or-die restaurant when I’m in DC. Fresh ingredients and plenty of options to please every palate — salads, sandwiches, fish and meat plates, pastas, and more. My risotto was good, but I expected a bit more flavor considering all the ingredients. Next time, I’ll try the scallops. The French fries are some of the best you’ll ever taste, and their natural sodas are super refreshing — I had the hibiscus one. Better make a reservation in advance, it’s always packed. We visited this restaurant for dinner on a Friday night and liked it so much that we came back again on Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere was great, and every dish we ordered was excellent — full of flavor and perfectly prepared. The service was good, and although the prices are a bit on the higher side, the quality of the food and the overall experience made it totally worth it.
Suly — Google review
Extremely Disappointed – Quality Has Seriously Declined I’m genuinely disappointed with how far this place has fallen. It used to be one of the best spots around for both vegan and regular food — great quality, great service. Sadly, that’s no longer the case. On my most recent visit, the food was borderline inedible. The French fries were completely burned, yet somehow also soggy and greasy — as if they'd been preheated in old oil and left out too long. The veggie burger was downright disgusting. The tomato tasted off, almost spoiled, and the overall flavor was just bad. Nothing felt fresh or properly cooked. This isn't an isolated incident, either. It’s the second time in a row I’ve had serious issues with the food here, and it’s clear the quality has dropped dramatically. Whatever has changed — whether it’s the kitchen staff, suppliers, or management — it’s for the worse. Really hope they turn things around, but for now, I won’t be coming back.

Rasika is a sophisticated restaurant and lounge that offers modern Indian cuisine, along with a selection of wines and cocktails. It is part of the renowned Knightsbridge Restaurant Group and has been a favorite among diners in Washington, DC for over 15 years. The restaurant's signature dishes like palak chaat and bhindi amchoor have expanded the city's culinary scene beyond traditional Indian fare.
This is one of the best Indian restaurants we've ever been to. There's an elegance to everything you order, and the flavors are impeccable. I loved the lamb shank, whose spice level seems okay at first, but then the heat builds as you eat (to be clear, this is a selling point and part of why I enjoyed it). The sauce was flavorful and the lamb was beautifully tender. The chicken tikka is also amazing with complexity to its flavors, and definitely don't skip out on the naan! Their apple beignet was also delightful. We will absolutely be back when we next visit DC. This is stop you MUST make when visiting. It's a little dark though, so bring a headlamp. (kidding!)

Rasika is a good Indian restaurant that offers a great dining experience. The food is delicious with excellent presentation, and the service is always very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend making a reservation since it's a very popular spot. Be aware that for large parties, you may be required to book a private room with a set tasting menu.

Regardless of type of cuisine, this Indian restaurant seemed to be the most recommended place we’ve gotten! We went during lunch time and every waiter and staff there was friendly and nice to us. They also have a pretty extensive menu to choose from!
Vicki — Google review
Recently visited Rasika hoping to have a first hand experience of next level Indian cuisine but it was all too disappointing. The place has either lost its charm or may be I was expecting it to stand apart from rest of restaurants around the block. The only highlight for me was the crispy spinach appetizers. Honestly, I could have eaten this as all 3 courses, partly coz it’s tasty and a newer take on an appetizer but also coz none of the other appetizers were good and don’t get me started on main course and dessert. Roti was okay, not too hard I guess and naan was nothing different than a roti. Lachcha paratha did taste a bit better than both. Vegetarian dishes for main course were no delight, too watery of a curry with loads of saffron and a silver leaf put in to make it look fancy and basically to cover up the taste of rest of the dish. Multiple menu options in vegetarian section were dishes which you can easily (in 10 mins) make it at home and may be even tastier. Malai palak was just a thick soup of cooked spinach run to a paste. No notes of any other taste. Rice doesn’t come standard with entrees which was a surprise as all other Indian restaurants do include rice along with the dish. Servers were fine, courteous and polite for most of the service, sometimes difficult to find once the restaurant had a few more tables occupied. Food came out decently fast. Overall prices were decent but I bet you can find better Indian restaurants within same price range for better food. Really no effort made to stand out from other restaurants and charge this much!
Pratik J — Google review
Good Indian food with great service. We tried the palak chaat, mixed grill, paneer as well as lamb kebab and everything was good. The dessert selection was a bit of a letdown but the black rice pudding was pretty good
Monika — Google review
I had always relied on Rasika as a go-to spot for special occasions and hosting out-of-town guests, but my most recent visit was quite disappointing. The food quality did not live up to past experiences. The entrées were noticeably small in portion size, served with a large amount of sauce, and the rice—charged separately—did not feel like good value. A more concerning issue was that I found metallic pot-scrubber pieces in my rice. When I brought this to my server’s attention, the response was casual and dismissive, with no effort made to address or remedy the situation. Similarly, when I expressed that I did not enjoy the rice-based dessert, I was told it was a popular dish but was not offered a substitute or any alternative. Overall, the lack of attentiveness and care left me very let down, especially given the restaurant’s past reputation for excellent dining. Based on this experience, I have not returned.

Good Stuff Eatery is a trendy spot that serves handcrafted burgers, fries, and shakes in a cool industrial setting. The service is quick and friendly, with delicious offerings like the Spikes Sunnyside burger, Cajun fries, and salted caramel shake. The restaurant's proximity to the Capitol building makes it a convenient stop for tourists exploring the area. Visitors can enjoy well-seasoned grilled chicken salads and tasty desserts like soft and chewy cookies.
Stopped in for lunch. Easy to find a table. Food didn’t take too long and was hot and delicious. Love the dipping sauce options. We had eaten at the Georgetown location several years ago and enjoyed it then too.

I was promised it would be the best burger I've ever ate but I have to say it was so much more. The Smashburger was the best I've ever had. The fries were amazing. But the shake, the Chocolate shake was the best I've ever tasted. Holy cow. I wanted to stay and try all the flavors. We came in a large group and I got a lot of pictures but not of the amazing looking chicken strips. Make this shop a priority when in DC!

Lots of people eating here. Okay prices. But the burgers were a little small. The hot dogs were bigger and cheaper. Both tasted good though. I think the fries were the best part of the meal.

Shout out to Diego at the cash register! I ordered lunch and planned to walk over right away. I got stuck at work so fully expected my mini shake to be melted and food cold. Diego waited until I came to make my mini shake and my food was warm and fresh. He said that he noticed I hadn't picked it up and he wanted to make sure that it was high quality and met their standards. He kept my under the warmer to keep my burger fresh. It was a small act of kindness, but it made my week! I used to go to this location frequently, as I lived down the street. The food is high quality, with fresh, hot food and crisp vegetables and delicious sauces. Thanks to Diego for exceptional customer service.

Stopped while walking by. Food was very good. We did have to wait about 20 min for 3 burgers and 3 fries but in the end it was worth it. The fries are honestly some of the best I have ever had. I really didn't like the lemonade as it seemed almost bitter to me, but perhaps I am just not accustomed to what it tastes like on the east coast. There was a young gentleman walking around cleaning the entire time we were there and I appreciated that.
Trevor H — Google review
Burger is somewhere between the size of a slider and a McDonalds single hamburger. Incredibly salty too you could taste the granules. They also recently made the milkshake smaller and introduced a “mini” size for a dollar less to make it look comparatively larger. Not sure what happened to this place but not worth the money.
Gardner M — Google review
Pretty unremarkable burger with old, oily, overly salted fries. I expected much more for $17 — this is Five Guys pricing without the quality. All bills contain an extremely deceptive junk “E.A.C.” or Extra Additional Charge that customers are forced to pay despite not being listed on the menu. Plus, the cash machine has the nerve to ask for a 25% tip when you have to go up to put in your own order, then head downstairs to collect it yourself — what service am I tipping for exactly? Tipping and junk fee culture has gotten absolutely ridiculous and it’s extremely disappointing to see Good Stuff Eatery scamming their customers with deceptive charges like these. The only redeeming qualities are the refillable fountain drinks and variety of available sauces, but I still don’t think I’ll be returning.

2 Amys is a lively pizzeria known for its innovative Neapolitan-style pizzas and Italian wine selection. While it was once recognized by the Associazione Vera Pizza Napoletana, the owner has expressed that this distinction no longer holds significance. The restaurant's simple recipes allow high-quality ingredients to shine, and its 'wine bar' menu offers an array of small Italian plates in addition to their renowned pizzas.
A classic. The appetizers are all amazing - deviled eggs, suppli, meatballs. The green sauce that goes with the deviled eggs brings them to another level! We tried the anchovies this time - taste truly of the ocean, paired super well with the fresh cream butter and bread. The pizza is consistently flavorful and delicious, ingredients are super fresh and the crust is crispy and thin. just watch out because its burn your mouth hot. Highlight of the meal is always dessert! The strawberry shortcake is a must try. The cream is light and soft, the strawberries and biscuit are a great accessory. Thanks Amy!

I have been to 2 Amys many, many times. It has always been consistently amazing and delicious. Their Neapolitan-style pizzas are really special and satisfying and are always fresh with excellent quality ingredients. The restaurant is walk-in only so it can get crowded sometimes, but is fair with everyone who walks in the front door. No reservations accepted. There are small 2 or 4-person tables throughout the dining floor, as well as a bar area towards the back. The vibe is family friendly, and fills with everyone from young kids, to young adults, to older adults looking to enjoy good food and a great wine selection, as well. There are also single-occupancy gender-neutral bathrooms, which I try to take note of when I write restaurant reviews for the safety of trans and non-binary customers and foodies. 🚻🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 Parking is street parking, either paid or, oftentimes, you can find a spot in the 2-hr neighborhood nearby. 2 Amys has been around for a while and they've never, to my knowledge, dipped in quality. Service is very busy but friendly. As I mentioned above, you'll be seated when an open table becomes vacant. After that, be ready for a great meal 😋 One other thing, tipping is included into every check and additional tips are not accepted. Enjoy your meal :)

We found this place on a bike ride over a year ago and finally made it back in normal clothes for an early dinner to give it a shot. The food is really good, plenty of wines by the glass, the meatballs were outstanding. They have several options that include anchovies, which is both authentic and awesome (for me). In the back they have a wine bar. We were early and were seated right away, but it was getting crowded as we left. We cannot wait to return and try more of their menu!

Fantastic pizza. Great atmosphere. No reservation required. No tip needed. Is this the future of dining??? I certainly hope so. Can’t wait to return for many more! Ordered margharita - since that’s the baseline to judge a good pizza. The crust was crispy, unbelievably thin in the middle, cooked to perfection with a good combination of chew on the edges and snap in the middle. It was flavorful with a good amount of charred bits. The sauce was acidic, bright, and sweet. The daily special pizza was great too. The 2 Amy sausage on it was a highlight -packed with fennel. The pizza was a bit spicy which hit the spot.

Worst pizza ever. Paid over $25 for a burnt pie, done in a rush, very salty and tasteless. Paid $15 for a scoop of sorbet. Waitress was cold and uninterested. Lots of staff but no warmth except the lady who greets and sit guests. Having a gift card is the only reason we went there otherwise they are far more better pizza restaurants than this. Fancy pizza names with ridiculous prices. Not worth it!

Visiting DC family .. they suggested 2 Amys. No reservations so grabbed 4 seats at the bar; a stroke of luck as the bar service was incredibly friendly. We shared three vegetarian pizzas: one with eggplant, a Margherita with a splash of pesto, and one with cauliflower. Everything, including the fresh simple green salad; delicious. Craft beer and nice selection of wine by the glass, and a chocolate pudding (?) for dessert. Highly recommend l; a great meal and a fantastic family night!

Service is really friendly and quick. No reservations but you can have a drink at the bar whilst you wait for a table. Appetisers and pizzas are both delicious and love the cannoli for dessert.

What do I say about one of my favorite restaurants? I used to live a few blocks away and go with my kids, they provide paper and crayons. Now I live far and will drive 20 minutes out of my way to eat there (not for the crayons). The pizza is solid, ignore the losers who don’t understand what a pizza is and are used to fast food joints. (Tell me you’re a rube without telling me you’re a rube cause the pizza isn’t “solid enough”) They keep ingredients simple but good. The crust is fluffy and divine. What’s really magical about the place is the appetizers and little plates and daily specials. These guys will experiment with stuff you’d never put together. Always simple, feels like country style European food, but always delicious with great ingredients. You go in for a small beer and a small plate or two at the bar in the back and leave with a smile. One drawback is how loud it can get. It’s always packed and it’s small. Definitely worth it though.

Restaurant
The Red Hen is a charming Italian restaurant located in the Bloomingdale neighborhood. The rustic-industrial space features an open kitchen and a large bar, creating an inviting atmosphere. The menu offers creative wood-fired Italian dishes made from scratch whenever possible, including bite-size antipasti plates, house-made pastas with classic flavors, and expertly prepared main courses.
After years of waiting I finally got into The Red Hand, and it was worth it. The Irish chef/owner puts his heart into Italian cooking—no pizza here, just amazing pasta, rich flavors, and desserts you can’t miss. A truly unique dining experience!”

Ambiance – 5/5 Red Hen has such a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a date night or an evening out with friends. Sitting at the bar is an experience in itself—you get a front-row view of the staff preparing everything to order, which adds an exciting, behind-the-scenes feel to the night. The energy is vibrant without being overwhelming, striking just the right balance for an enjoyable evening. Service – 5/5 On my first visit, I sat at the bar and had such a great experience with our bartender, Sara (apologies if I’m misspelling). She was superb—knowledgeable, informative, and refreshingly honest with her recommendations. I enjoyed it so much that I brought my fiancé back two days later just to sit on the same side of the bar to have Sara again. The entire staff radiates professionalism and care, but Sara’s attentive service really elevated our experience. Food – 5/5 Every dish at Red Hen is beautifully crafted and bursting with flavor. We started with the Grilled Crostini Bread and Charred Broccolini—the whipped butter was absolute perfection, and the toasted hazelnuts with golden raisins gave the broccolini a radiant mix of textures and flavors, good to the very last bite. For entrées, we had the Spaghetti Pomodora and the Gnocchetti—both meatless options that didn’t miss a beat. The spaghetti, made with golden tomatoes, offered a lighter, creamy twist on a traditional red sauce, while the Gnocchetti highlighted a perfect balance of flavors with just the right richness. Dessert was the ultimate finish. The Roasted Maple Panna Cotta was silky smooth, with the hazelnut crumble adding the perfect textural contrast. The Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Tart, on the other hand, was a true chocolate lover’s dream—rich, decadent, and deeply satisfying.

My wife and I recently went to red hen for date night. I’ve been recommended this place multiple times by multiple people so it’s only right. I enjoyed the fact that you can see the kitchen from your seat and everything was open. Our server was great and the head chef was awesome as well. Everyone was so welcoming, friendly and conversational. The Whipped Ricotta Crostini was delicious. The bread to Ricotta ratio was a bit off so we ordered some more bread to balance the ratio. The Rigatoni definitely stole the show. We loved it. They have a pretty extensive non-alcoholic menu which my wife was happy about. The menu is very simple and they do it very well. I look forward to going back. Parking wasn’t too bad but it’s street parking.

Red Hen is one of those rare hidden gems in DC that truly lives up to the hype—especially if you're a pasta lover. Having dined at most of the top-rated pasta spots around the city, I keep coming back to Red Hen. It consistently delivers some of the best pasta dishes you’ll find anywhere in the area. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, with a warm, rustic charm that makes it perfect for date nights or relaxed evenings with friends. While parking in the area can be tricky (we typically opt for an Uber), it’s well worth the minor hassle. I’ve never made a reservation but have always found a spot at the bar, which I actually prefer. The bartenders are friendly, attentive, and make the overall experience even better with great service and solid recommendations. The standout dish for me is the squid ink linguine with calamari—rich, briny, and perfectly balanced. I also can’t visit without ordering the whipped ricotta crostini. It’s simple but exceptional, with creamy ricotta and just the right amount of seasoning on toasted bread. If you’re looking for a top-tier pasta experience in DC without the pretension, Red Hen is the place. It’s a spot I recommend time and again, and it never disappoints.

I had a wonderful dining experience at Red Hen Restaurant. The Mezzi Rigatoni was absolutely incredible rich in flavor and perfectly cooked. What made the visit even better was the attentive and kind service; our waitress was friendly and made sure we were well taken care of the entire evening. The ambiance was cozy and elegant, making it a great place to enjoy a relaxing dinner. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great Italian cuisine.

Just two of us, we arrived early evening without reservations. We grabbed seats at the bar and we were quickly offered drinks and menus. Food options are excellent, for an app we ordered the whipped ricotta crostini - beyond delicious! For entrees we enjoyed the squid ink linguini and mezzi rigatoni. The combination of excellent service, cool vibe, and great food can’t be beat.
N. R — Google review
The Red Hen is a victim of its own success. The rave reviews and famous dishes set the bar high — but it underwhelmed on my visit. After hearing so much about the place, I was certain the food would be phenomenal. It was not a bad meal, but neither was it memorable. The word that comes to mind is “decent.” The mezzi rigatoni you’ve heard so much about? It’s good. But it’s not $28 good. It’s definitely not wait-a-week-for-a-reservation good. It’s a solid 3.75 out of 5. While the unfussy neighborhood feel lends it a quaint atmosphere, the tables can be quite close together, making it easy to peek at what your neighbors are ordering and potentially feel like every word you utter is being eavesdropped on. If our neighbors had been listening in on us, they might have heard us express tepidity. If a friend desperately wanted to visit, I’d allow myself to tag along for their sake — but it’s not on my list of must-try Italian joints in DC.

Amazing Italian restaurant! Without bar seating at would have had to wait 1.5 hours but thankfully 2 seats were open. The recommendations were spot on. Definitely going to come back. If ordering too many things, it can get a bit pricey. The four gras and jam with toast was absolutely amazing! Definitely recommend.

Mediterranean restaurant
Komi is a cozy American-Mediterranean restaurant located in Dupont Circle, known for its fixed-price parade of dishes and understated setting. Chef Johnny Monis, a James Beard Award winner, showcases his Mediterranean heritage through multi-course seasonal tasting menus that highlight adventurous New American cuisine. The dining experience is characterized by homemade pita breads, ethereal gyro sandwiches (vegetarian and lamb options available), and barrel-aged feta.
An incredible intimate dinning experience with some of the most passionate and animated descriptions of wine I've ever heard. So make sure you get the matching wines! Delicious adaptions of Mediterranean flavors with excellent (and friendly) service that makes Komi an unforgettable experience.

Friendly staff and nice walk up experience. I ordered a grandpa pepperoni slice, which included some unexpected jalapeño, that was delicious. While I waited for the slice, I got a chance to try two of the ice cream flavors from the cart out front - my favorite was Basque Cheesecake, but they alternate flavors, so whatever they have when you go will probably be tasty (even when it’s cold out)

I love this place. If you'd have told me right before the pandemic that one of the best haute cuisine restaurants in DC (Komi) would soon change its menu to pizza, gyros, and fries and I'd love it, I'd have said you were crazy. But here we are. They also sell their own ice cream, and it's delicious. Expensive, but so good nothing else compares. Happy Gyro's menu is short and changes frequently, based on what's available. The veggie gyro is fantastic but they haven't had that for a couple months. The spicy veggie tacos come in those old fashioned hard tortillas, and are delicious - but pretty spicy. Grandma and grandpa pizza squares taste as good as you'll find in NYC. They still offer the extensive wine and drink selection as they did when they were Komi. The chef and staff are all from Komi too, and provide very good service to match fine dining or street food. Now that the pandemic is supposedly over, I don't know if they'll go back to fancy dining. Right now, everything is mostly carryout and the inside dining is closed. But I like both Komi and Happy Gyro, and the latter is much less expensive. As of a few months ago, I think, the inside has been reopened! Not for dining, but for picking up your food and drinks. It looks nice! You can browse the wines, beers and ciders.

As expected with a Michelin star restaurant, the dining experience was superb. We were able to get a last minute reservation for a random weekday based on their availability online. They promptly followed up via email and made sure to consider any food allergies or preferences we had. They also verified our preferences when we sat down just to be sure. The small dining area made for an intimate dining experience and everything was exceptionally cooked. The dishes were inventive and perfectly cooked to the point that I wished I could have more. We unfortunately did not do the wine pairing but, even without it, we were at Komi for about 3 hours. The service was very professional as expected. There's limited street parking but a garage just around the corner that was a convenient walk. Overall, I'd definitely consider going back but really only for a special occasion given the $150 per person bill not including wine pairing. The only negative of the night was the $16 glass of Riesling.

First time checking this place out and it will definitely be one of my top choices when I am in town. Tried multiple different items and they were all excellent. I love that the Vodka sauce is actually spicy and not a sugar bomb. The staff is super friendly and do not sleep on the ice cream. Even 30 min after I picked it up everything was great.

Located in Washington, DC, minibar by José Andrés is an intimate and innovative dining experience that offers a multi-course menu for up to six guests. The restaurant features a futuristic kitchen where around 10 chefs serve approximately 20 courses to just 12 diners seated at a counter. The interior is inventive with a gold dome hanging above tables encircling the open kitchen, creating a chic and artistic ambiance.
minibar offers an unforgettable experience from the moment you walk in. The service is impeccable—every member of the team is warm, welcoming, and highly professional. Ben greeted us promptly and provided excellent recommendations for wine and cocktails. Rita checked in throughout the evening to ensure everything exceeded our expectations. The level of service, the artistry behind each dish, and the exceptional quality of both food and drinks make this a must-visit for any true food lover. Chef Nathan Lumley and the culinary team delivered a flawless presentation—every dish was a masterpiece, from concept to execution. We began the evening with two beautifully crafted cocktails—the Chief Lapu Lapu and Big in Japan—which set the tone for the night perfectly. The tasting menu offered a thoughtful variety, introducing us to new flavors while delighting with each course. Highlights included the Beet & Ostera Caviar, Oyster Chowder, Chili Crab, Morel & Manzanilla, Turbot & Morel, and the Lamb Chawanmushi. Every element of the evening felt intentional and elevated. The team made it truly special from start to finish.

An absolutely unforgettable dining experience — far beyond just “dinner.” From the moment we arrived, every detail, both big and small, was flawlessly executed. The ambiance struck the perfect balance between elegance and warmth, setting the tone for an evening that felt extraordinarily special from start to finish. Each course was a masterpiece — beautifully created and plated and bursting with flavor. The service was impeccable: attentive without being intrusive, with staff who clearly take pride in creating an exceptional experience. Even the smallest touches — from the pacing of the meal and the exquisite presentation — made it clear that minibar doesn’t just serve food; it curates moments. By the end of the night, we didn’t just feel satisfied — we felt enchanted. This was more than a meal; it was an experience to remember and one we can’t wait to relive.

Minibar by José Andrés – A Dazzling Culinary Journey Minibar by José Andrés delivers a truly remarkable gastronomic experience that blurs the lines between culinary art and innovative cuisine. With just 12 seats per seating, the atmosphere is intimate, conversational, and social, making it a unique and personal dining affair. This reservation-only spot has been on my radar for nearly a year, and I finally managed to secure a coveted spot for a Thursday night. From the moment you step inside, the white anteroom and minimalist, contemporary interior immediately set the stage for a one-of-a-kind culinary journey. It feels less like a meal and more like a performance, with each dish presented with meticulous precision and flair. The chefs are not just preparing food; they’re narrating a story, explaining the inspiration behind each dish with infectious passion and enthusiasm. The tasting menu is a true masterpiece, showcasing José Andrés’s Spanish heritage through dishes that both surprise and delight. One of the highlights is the playful take on an onion ring – a classic snack reimagined with caramelized onion cream and Idiazabal cheese. Other standouts include an edible oyster shell, a cauliflower dish that pushes culinary boundaries, and the fried donut – easily the crowning jewel of the dessert course. Dining at Minibar is a premium experience, with the tasting menu priced at over $300 per person (excluding tax and tip). The wine list is equally impressive, offering over 80 selections, and wine pairings are available at various levels to enhance your experience. While Minibar is undeniably a feast for the senses, I did feel that some dishes didn’t quite hit the level of culinary innovation I was hoping for, particularly with the overall fishiness of the menu. That said, it’s still a must-try, and I’d definitely recommend adding it to your bucket list if you're visiting or living in Washington, D.C.

What can I say about my experience at Minibar by Jose Andres? From beginning to end, it was an amazing experience. I took my wife there for Valentine’s Day. I had to book this reservation when they released their availability during the first week of January. There is a limited amount of seating for their tasting menu (which fills up quick). We’ve been to multiple Jose Andres restaurants in the past, but this by far exceeded all other experiences. This tasty menu was paired with different wines from all over the world. My wife does not like seafood so they were able to make multiple substitutions for her. The dishes that stood out the most were the Shawarma, lamb mole truffle masa cake, oyster chowder, and the KK doughnut. The one drink that I can’t get out of my mind is the 2010 Château de Yquem. The attention to detail amazing customer service, and knowledge base their staff had made the entire experience enjoyable.

The food was excellent. But we felt that the quality-to-price ratio, similar to Jônt, was lower than other Michelin Star restaurants in DC. We spent $548.21/person (including mocktail pairings, tax, and service fee) for less food that was less delicious and more expensive than Little Pearl or Pineapple and Pearls. (Unaffiliated.) That said, the non-alcoholic mocktail pairings were a stand-out. Truly exceptional. If they mass-produced, bottled, and sold their merchandise, I would be the first buyer!

Where to start! Our experience for our anniversary was incredible! It was the best meal of our lives! The staff really went out of their way to make us feel special. Our absolute favorite dishes were the ricotta gundi, seared scallop and the pan seared dorade, they had us in tears with the incredible blend of flavors and textures. For dessert the stand out for us was definitely the key lime pavlova and chocolate tart! I would definitely follow the staff’s recommendations on wine, everything they suggested was incredible! Definitely a once in a lifetime dinning experience for us we were both moved to tears by excellence and flavors everything was executed! Thank you for making our first Michelin Star restaurant and anniversary such a memorable experience!

This restaurant was my first sample of Michelin-rated cooking. I was afraid the cost was a bit much for what I am comfortable with, but the first bite of the BREAD accompaniment immediately disabused me of that fear. I could make tons of silly and lighthearted comparisons for the food, but for once I am left speechless. The food is simply marvelous. From the first bite to the end dessert (of which I unrepentantly ordered a second), I would recommend this stop as a MUST EAT to anyone in DC with any appreciation of a high-quality "familiar" dish. The pineapple buns and scallion oil are divine, the Szichuan honey mustard was perfect, and the potato... I genuinely did not know a potato COULD be that delicious. My only - ONLY - complaint is that the wine pairings seemed overpriced... but I also am not a wine drinker and cannot fairly judge that aspect of the meal. But judging the food alone, it is easily in the Top 3 dining experiences I've had in my entire life. I would have no reservations eating here again and am raving about it to any poor soul who will listen.

One of the most flawless and thoughtful dining experiences I’ve ever had. We went for my wife’s birthday and from the moment we walked in - everything went great. The GM greeted her by name and wished her a happy birthday, the menu had her name on it, and they even comped us a few dishes along the way when we couldn’t make up our minds on which amazing dish to choose from. So many things stand out - but the shrimp toast was so good we ordered a second dish before the end of the night. Overall, such a perfect mixture of creativity, quality, and intentional hospitality. Worth every penny and would absolutely recommend this place for special occasions! Also, we sat at the bar and got excellent guidance from Nick that really helped us choose the best path through the menu 🙌 thanks for everyone R&O team! Menu recs: “Cacio e pepe” = my favorite Shrimp toast with lemongrass aioli = order 2x Gnocchi Pretty much anything & everything…

Went here for a celebration and had a fantastic time since we saw theyre a michelin star restaurant. The food was absolutely phenomenal, they have a menu and each person picked one item from each header and they let each person try a different dish so we could try everything. Rolls came free, then we got the bluefin snd pork terrine. Bluefin was delicious, the terrine was something we'd normally never try and while not as good as the tuna it was something unique and tasty. Then we had the shrimp toast and cobia. The shrimp toast was absolutely fantastic, probably our favorite. For the mains, we had the short rib Diane and the eggplant donburri - super unique way to make a shortrib like a steak, it was very good and so glad we tried a vegetarian main bexause the preparation was so delicious and almost tasted like eel with the sauce over rice. Really good! For desserts, we got the key like pavlova and the Vietnamese tiaramisu the key lime pavlova was to die for. Service was wonderful, wine pairings were great! Absolutely reccomend it for a nice date night or special occasion. If we're ever in the area again, definitely on our list!

We love the story. My wife and I have separate days off, but we never miss a meal together. We enjoy trying new spots and our first visit to Rooster and Owl did not disappoint. We were well taken cared of. We love a simplified menu. Each dish is meant to be shared and thats how my wife and I order food regularly so it felt natural. The menu isnt the easiest to describe. Maybe modern american? Bread service felt asian with homemade buns and scallion oil butter. To start, we had baby carrots and a duck and pork pate, felt french. We also enjoyed a ricotta nudi and cocoa baba ghanoush, so we got some italian and meditarannean. Portions are considerate of the next plates coming in, but enough that we were completey sfuffed by the end of it. On the drive home, my wife and talked about our favorite dishes and just enjoyed that we had truly shared a meal.

Top notch service only added to the incredible experience we had at Rooster and Owl. We came in during restaurant week on my birthday. Chose the 4 course for $80. Loved that they surprised me with a small birthday treat, it was like an iced cream on a wafer, very delicious! The gnocchi was hands down the best thing I’ve eaten all year and I’ll crave it forever. The bread rolls with the miso butter were so good I had to inquire if they sold them separately to go lol 5/5 service 5/5 food 5/5 recommend to others

My wife and I were in town from Ohio for the weekend and made reservations in advance. From the time that we walked in until the time we left, the experience was top notch. The food was exceptional, the staff was friendly and was what you would expect from a Michelin rated restaurant, and the price point dare I say is a great value for such a delicious meal. The manager saw that we did not order a particular dish and comp'd one to our table; dare I say that was the most delicious dish of the evening. Since our visit just a few days ago I have since recommended Rooster & Owl to several friends.

I don’t think it’s possible to explain how much I love this restaurant in one review. I tried it for the first time in 2024 when visiting my best friend and it was my one request when I made my visit again this weekend. After a pretty horrendous travel day (3 hours sitting on a runway) and panic texts unsure if we were going to make it, walking in and being able to have the dining experience I had been dreaming of all week made up for it. From the hostess to our bartender/server Nick, everyone who works there is top notch and makes you feel like a regular. And the food. My god this food. We ate so much and I would recommend everything but please do not leave without having the lamb that’s crusted in falafel (yes, you read that right), that made my part Middle Eastern heart melt. Dessert you also need to get the cheesecake and the olive oil cake and the chocolate tart. All three. Don’t skip one but also I listed them in my order of top top to next top in case you are too full. If I lived in DC I would have a standing monthly reservation here.

Rania is a dazzling gem in Washington, D.C., where high-concept Indian cuisine meets an opulent ambiance adorned with chandeliers and a romantic flair. This restaurant offers an accessible four-course menu for $90, showcasing the culinary artistry of Chef Chetan Shetty. Guests can indulge in delightful amuse bouches and savor standout dishes like beef short rib in saffron nihari or Parsi chicken served elegantly in golden bowls.
I will say that this place is a MUST visit! I was thoroughly impressed by the ambiance, the service and most importantly the food! Every bite was delicious and left me wanting more. We had the four course menu and it was enough food that everyone in our party felt satisfied and even a bit full. The service was great too! They brought out each course promptly and we enjoyed the attentiveness and attention to detail. Indian food has never tasted so delicious! I hope to return again soon!

This was our third time here. The first two times I would have given 5 starts for everything, some of the most amazing food I’ve ever had with exceptional service. This time was disappointing. My husband and I booked dinner Friday night for our anniversary. We had booked the chef tasting menu for the first time and the reservation said to allow 2 hours. We also noted my husband’s allergies to nuts and seafood in the reservation notes. When we arrived we were seated, thanked for joining on our special occasion and given the cocktail list. We mentioned the allergy, and our server was a little surprised, but checked the reservation and checked with the Chef and said it would not be a problem, my husband would just receive the vegetarian version for the seafood dishes. We ordered our cocktail and the night started. It was a while before the first course came out but the restaurant was full with 2 bigger parties seated at either end of the room. The room was loud and I did feel closer to the diners on either side of me then my husband, but I was excited for the amazing food I had had before even if it did feel less intimate then I would like. The courses start coming out with about 15 minutes between courses. My husbands are vegetarian, but no big deal I figured there was something he couldn’t have in mine and my first two are fish. The tuna tartare was ok, it lacked the normal complexity of the dishes I’ve come to expect, but the puffs served with it felt stale. My lobster ravioli was overcooked and lackluster as well. His vegetarian dishes were all wonderful. Once we finished our cocktails they were cleared. In the past when we were 3/4 done our cocktails we had been asked about another, but this time we finished, they were taken and we had to flag someone down to order another, who then sent over our main server for us to order again. The biggest disappointment was the 30+ minutes between the 3rd and 4th course where both tables on either side of us turned over and got their first dishes. As we moved through the meal we realized that my husband was just receiving vegetarian for every meal. The deserts were so sweet they were not enjoyable and not eaten and the caramelized fennel tasted burnt. Overall we spent more money for less service and a disappointing meal, and we were there for over 3 hours. We were also herded to the bathroom every time you stood, like you couldn’t be trusted to find it on your own.

We had done our research and made the reservation for a birthday dinner here at Rania. The service and ambiance was great, no complaints. The presentation of the cocktail and food were quite impressive and memorable. This is first time we had Indian food with Michelin rating, so I have to admit we had high expectations and I am trying not let it bias my review. What I like most is that most dishes all taste genuinely indian, and with a little twist, which is interesting. I think this might be a welcoming feature for non Indians but the the native Indian in our group also enjoyed the food which says a lot. The complimentary birthday card with a picture in it is a nice touch. We will go back again!

We celebrated my partner’s birthday at Rania last night and had an incredible experience. We opted for the prix fixe menu with wine pairings, and every course was thoughtfully prepared and expertly matched. The meal began with a single-bite amuse-bouche—a crispy potato croquette that was absolutely delicious. Next was a fried shrimp dish that packed a surprising amount of heat, but the accompanying sweet Riesling balanced it beautifully. The cooked oyster course, served on the half shell with a rich hollandaise, was unexpected but outstanding in flavor. I was initially unsure about the preparation, but it completely won me over. For the main, I had the pork vindaloo—not a traditional curry presentation, but rather a beautifully plated dish featuring fried pork belly with perfectly crispy skin, a tender piece of pork loin, and a flavorful sauce topped with pork crackling. While it didn’t match my expectations of a typical vindaloo, it was easily one of the best dishes of the night. The naan was wonderfully crisp, and the black dal was deeply flavorful—comforting and rich. We finished with a chocolate tart that was the perfect finale to an outstanding meal. Service was exceptional throughout. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and offered fantastic recommendations that elevated the experience. Rania exceeded our expectations and delivered a memorable evening. Absolutely worth the price—we’ll definitely be back!

There is a happy hour deal 5-8 if you’re seated at the bar. Decor is really unique and the drink service was really an experience. Samosa’s and lamb kabobs were delicious. Hector was lovely to chat with and Alex was everywhere. Jonas and Hamid were pleasant as well.

Celebrated two birthdays—mine with friends and my sister’s with family—at Rania, and it was such a special experience. From the moment you arrive, they make you feel taken care of: the service is genuinely kind and attentive, the cocktails are creative and delicious with their own unique twist, and the food—wow. We went with the 4-course tasting menu and shared everything, and every dish was outstanding. Highly recommend this spot!

Really good michelin star spot. Had the lychee bomb cocktail that was so delicious. Just the right amount of sweet. Their small bite was similar to fried potato with caviar on top. Really nice savory bite. The oysters were so citrusy and delicious. Easier to eat than you would expect, too. The scallops were phenomenal. The curry sauce they were resting in was done perfect. I absolutely cleaned that bowl. The monk fish meal was so well paired. The yellow coconut milk sauce it is resting in absolutely crushed my expectations. And the brown gravy and rice could have been a dish on its own. I cleaned every drop. For dessert, I had the chocolate tart with their 1971 dessert wine. The perfect balance of sweet and savory chocolate with the light tart/sour of the wine. I would definitely recommend adding this one to your list.

It was my first Michelin in DC and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The food came quickly, the cocktails were strong and well presented (and way less costly than I expected) and the food was phenomenal.

Middle Eastern restaurant
Restaurant
Albi is a trendy Middle Eastern restaurant located in Navy Yard, offering a unique dining experience that reflects Chef Michael Rafidi's Palestinian family roots and culinary expertise. The menu features eye-catching dishes such as heirloom tomato fattoush with apples, pears, preserved radish, and smoked feta, aged duck shish kabob, and innovative cocktails like the zaatar martini.
Albi is one of our top 2 dining experiences ever. The restaurant is stunning and to see the calm kitchen working perfectly in harmony was a treat. The food was insane - we loved every bit. The flavors were incredible. We truly savored every dish. The chefs coursing is worth it, and the drinks they paired with some of the dishes were also perfection. Going to Albi is an experience you surely won’t forget. Our favorite experience of our trip to DC. Our only piece of feedback is that there could actually have been 2 less dishes in the coursing and 1 less dessert. We left VERY full, and when you experience a coursed meal it should be designed so as a patron we eat just enough to feel satisfied and don’t have to worry about portioning, as it’s almost impossible to do so since you have no idea what’s coming next. There are a few items they could have easily done without to make it more realistic of a portion size. This is coming from two people who eat a lot (lol) - we know how to throw down.

wow wow wow. such a phenomenal experience. the ambiance was top notch along with the food and service. our favorite dishes were the manti dumplings and sfeeha. we also ordered the fattoush and labne tabat to break up the heaviness of our meaty plates. dessert was concord soft serve which i would personally not order next time.

I’ve been here twice and experienced both bar seating and a tasting by the kitchen. Both experiences are worth it. The staff is very kind and can make thoughtful drink pairing suggestions on any dish. Really delicious, interesting modern takes on Palestinian and Middle Eastern cuisine. The spreads for the pita (and the bread itself) are addictive. But everything from the meat and veggies down to the desserts are incredible. My favorite restaurant in all of DC.

One of the rare places where I enjoyed everything about the dining experience. So much flavor and spice in every single bite and dish! The interplay between acidity, spice, and richness all worked so well together, with nothing overpowering anything. I highly recommend trying the mushroom hummus! It had such great smoky flavor and depth of flavor. For the mains, we really enjoyed the lamb kabobs and the long rib - both were so incredibly tender and had the texture of brisket just melting in your mouth. You cannot miss knefeh dessert! The crispiness of the thinly shredded phyllo blew me away. All the components soaked in the rose water syrup just worked perfectly together and was not too sweet. It was the perfect way to end the meal. Along with the food, the dining experience, atmosphere and the service was excellent. The restaurant decor and vibes were beautiful and our waiters were very knowledgeable and on top of water refills and providing clean towels/napkins wherever we got up. All of the small details, from the food to the live flame candles felt thoughtful and intentional and I highly highly recommend trying Albi at least once!

We sat at the hearth table and thoroughly enjoyed going on a culinary journey! Every bite was fantastic, but do not miss the mushroom hummus or the lamb dumplings. I will be dreaming about both of those for a good, long while!

Have had the pleasure to dine at Albi on several occasions. The food is always exceptional and guarantees a memorable and outstanding culinary experience. The dining room provides an intimate experience. Have enjoyed both the tasting Sofra tasting menu, as well as à la carte.
Ruth S — Google review
Really good middle eastern food. Some standout dishes. The BBQ lamb kabobs were my favorite; it had a superb ‘green harissa’ sauce. The use of chili was unique and added a ton of flavor (I think it’s a fermented chili honey). And the grape leave lamb dish was also very tasty. The service is slow, so plan accordingly. Other dishes were a little flat. The mushroom hummus was supposedly a popular one but the mushrooms themselves didn’t add much. It was an OK dish. So was the grilled beets. The Knefa was very rich and sweet. I don’t think it was much better than I’ve had at a lower cost. The plating is superb. Overall, it’s a high quality place with a beautiful experience and some interesting flavors. Though, the price per dish is a bit much for what it delivers.
Gregory F — Google review
Albi was outstanding. We ordered a la carte and everything was absolutely delicious. Loved the open kitchen and the whole atmosphere. Service was top tier - servers and sommelier were helpful, knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. Food highlights: arayes, smoked tomato kibbeh naya, smoked urfa labne with fresh pita, maqluba. The halva bar and labne soft serve were the perfect finale! Highly highly recommend!

Pizza restaurant
Jumbo Slice Pizza is a beloved late-night gem nestled in the heart of Adams Morgan, Washington D.C. This cash-only establishment has earned its reputation for serving up colossal pizza slices that are perfect for satisfying those post-party cravings. While many may mistakenly refer to other pizza spots as "jumbo slice," this iconic eatery truly embodies the name with its freshly made, cheesy slices served until dawn.
We visited this week after many years not coming and the pizza still the best pizza since we 1st found this place back in 2009. The gentleman working in the counter, he is Hispanic, still working there for many years gave us the best service. This is the best Pizza in the area. We will come back for sure.
Angela A — Google review
Behind the Slice: Jumbo Slice Pizza’s Strengths and Considerations Discovering Jumbo Slice Pizza after watching a video on DC's best large pizza slices was a game-changer. Full transparency: the pizza here is beyond exceptional—no notes needed. However, my focus shifts to the customer experience, crucial for out-of-towners. The initial impression is hindered by a visibly dilapidated interior, lacking attention and care. Cleanliness concerns arise, impacting the perceived hygiene of the food station. Moreover, encountering an individual engaging in inappropriate activities (such as literally smoking crack out of a glass pipe) raises discomfort. It was around 6:30 PM when we arrived to eat so it was a lot to see at such an early hour. While understanding the need for a safe space, establishing conditions for shelter-seekers could enhance the atmosphere. And considering the winter conditions, I understand the need for a safe space, but owners could establish conditions—no drug paraphernalia. The lack of seating and the scent of smoke prompted us to grab our order and leave. Yet, the outstanding pizza, efficient service, and friendly kitchen staff can't be overlooked. Jumbo Slice Pizza has significant potential with its phenomenal pizzas, straightforward menu, and nostalgic 90s jumbo slices. However, a strategic investment in a well-maintained storefront is crucial. The perfect combination of jumbo pizza slices and a charming interior could evolve this phenomenal pizza spot to dominate as THE pizza spot in DC. For those seeking the perfect jumbo pizza slice in DC, Jumbo Slice Pizza is a 5/5, but the atmosphere is a 1/5, with hope that some tough love will be given to truly elevate and match the food.

So we ordered late last night, I got the buffalo slice and my wife got a cheese slice and add pineapple. So apparently the base of my buffalo pizza was tomato base... wth is that. Then my wife slice shows up burnt and no pineapple. Worst $30 I've ever spent on pizza. I'm from NY where I follow this company from sm so I came here to go, visit my grandfather and arlington cemetery. On my six year wedding anniversary. Safe to say if and when I come back it won't be for this pizza. ( Also, we couldn't get a hold of anybody last night to fix our situation)

This place is awesome! Reminds me of real NY pizza - doughy and greasy and cheesy and delicious! You basically have to stand to eat, just a few chairs here and there, but it’s not a big deal. Service is great and quick too!

Available at 330 a.m. for a hot, fresh delicious jumbo slice of pizza I would say this place is a life saver if you are ever out late! Jumbo slice is in the heart of Adam's Morgan you can't miss it. I must admit the restaurant isn't, nor has ever been glamours, a hole in the wall if you ask me, but the pizza is extremely tasty with just the right ratio of cheese to crust. If ever on this side of D.C. and need a late night snack that's about the size of an entire small pizza go check them out! It's worth it!

My friend and I were attending a convention , and got out super late every night. We decided to check this place put because they are open super late. The restaurant was pretty packed, as the building isnt huge, but we had absolutely no wait. The gentleman who took our order was even quick in giving me my change back. The pizza was fantastic, and for 8 dollars me and my friend were both able to eat and were full after. We will definitely be back whenever we are in the area.

Chaia Chinatown is a popular vegetarian restaurant in the heart of downtown DC that offers fresh produce, melty cheese, and handmade corn tortillas. The atmosphere is airy and comfortable with wood accents, woven basket light fixtures, and plants for a warm feeling. Ordering food on their kiosk is easy and quick, but there is no service to speak of.
My friend and I really enjoyed our visit here! We tried the sweet potato nachos, mushroom quesadillas, and a mushroom taco, all with vegan cheese. Everything was delicious! I especially enjoyed the nachos. The staff were also great! I’d definitely come back.
Nathaniel L — Google review
I just want to have a light lunch after museum visit, so Taco without meat sounded like a good option. The order is on a tablet, easy enough, but on a busy day a person would be a lot quicker. After spending some time on the screen, I ordered sweet potato and carrot tacos, both have nice flavor. The carrots are a little hard, but still ok. I am a little disappointed with the green rice (recommended by some reviewer), the one I had today is dry, and I don’t quite get the taste. Restaurant is pretty and spacious.
Liang H — Google review
The food was so delicious. First, their tortillas are out of this world. Thick enough to support the taco fillings with no risk of ripping, warm & so tasty. If they sold their tortillas alone, I would go nowhere else for my tortillas. And you can watch them make the tortillas in house! *chefs kiss* The sweet potato hash taco was my favorite. Definitely one for the sweet potato lovers, the salsa on it is so flavorful. The creamy kale & potato was not as exciting, but I think it was just the texture of potato in a taco that didn't quite gel for me. EDIT: they DO sell their tortillas, and I definitely brought some home with me.

The BEST vegan tacos I've had they're so flavorful and really highlight the vegetables used, but they also serve beyond tacos for those who prefer meaty flavors. I got the 5 vegan taco sampler (no cheese) and each one was uniquely flavored and literally exciting to eat! If I lived near here I would go so often. Their service is also fast and was prepared in literally 5 minutes. Their mushroom taco was my favorite and I can easily see why it is so popular, definitely check them out if you're in the area!

Excellent food, super fast service but a nice place to sit down and eat as well. The simple tacos let the vegetables and handmade tortillas shine. All the salsas were delicious! Love that the restaurant is totally nut free and they have tons of vegan options. Highly highly recommend

These are some of the best tacos I’ve ever had! The best one was the creamy potato and kale. The texture of the potato was amazing and the sauce was delicious. We also ordered the mushroom enchilada which was pretty good, and the sweet potato nachos. The nachos are a lot of food for the price and they’re delicious! We got the hibiscus tea and it’s super refreshing and not too sweet. I can’t wait to go back and try more of the tacos!

Call Your Mother Deli, originally opened in 2018 in Park View, is a "Jew-ish" deli that quickly gained popularity for its delicious bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and creative pastries. The executive chef draws inspiration from her childhood in Argentina to create unique sweet treats.
Stumbled upon this place during a walk in DC, and I'm really glad we stopped in. The wait was a bit long, but I promise it's worth it. The bagels are genuinely NYC-style, and the place is charming and cozy. It shares a seating area and lobby with the nearby hotel and offers plenty of space to relax and enjoy your morning bagel and latte. Highly recommend!

Looking for a quick breakfast bagel shop while visiting D.C. we came across Call Your Mother Deli. We figured it had to be good when we turned the corner and noticed a line out the door. The decor was very cute, staff was friendly, cold brew coffee was delicious (wish they offered more than one size) and bagels and CYM bangers were delicious. We stopped in every morning while in town and everything was CONSISTENTLY good and even grabbed some bagels for home.

Good atmosphere in the “Truly Yours” hotel. Ate the “Mountainview” sandwich. It has a potato latke, smashed avocado, egg and cheddar and American cheeses. Switched out the plain bagel for an everything bagel. Tasted much better than expected. Would get it again. Service is good. Friendly staff.
C C — Google review
Two separate trusted DC foodies individually recommended me to try Call Your Mother, so I made it a point to queue up a few minutes before they opened on the first day of my conference. The line moved quickly, and the team was fast and professional. The breakfast sandwich was an absolute dream - egg, cheese, and pastrami on a sesame, toasted. Fabulous. So glad I went - highest possible recommendation. Would have gone back on day 2 but the conference itself did provide breakfast.

A must-go every trip to DC. This location is bright and cheery and has a lot of seating optons outside and inside as it’s connected to the Yours Truly Hotel. Breakfast bagel sandwiches are always delicious and coffee beverages are good. I always get the salmon bagel. Really a delicious sandwich loaded with crisp veggies, for $12.

this place was packed and it’s easy to see why. I had the latkes and a pastrami sun city on the gluten friendly yucca bread, both were so so good. I could eat here every day. service was lovely and food was quick to be ready. I appreciate their care in separating the gluten friendly items.

This place was awesome! Very busy and long line, but it moved efficiently and I got my order quickly. I got the Mountain View bagel and a honey oat latte and both were amazing. Food was fresh and coffee was great. This location is definitely buzzing and you might have pay to park then walk a bit.

Loved the outdoor seating. Had a problem with 1 bagel sandwich, which they replaced soon. Other than that, the food was great, Americano coffee was great, service was pretty decent. I think the quality & taste of the bagel was much better than the ones we had at 2 famous NY city bagel shops this year.

Cool vibe! Friendly staff, and good alcoholic drink prices. Coffee and food were questionable. Unfortunately, I started eating my chicken sandwich and the middle was completely raw. 15 minutes later they brought me another. I heard the check out person telling the barista that the cappuccino should come in a smaller cup. I asked for whole milk, they must have thought I asked for oat milk. It was extremely diluted and tasted just like steamed oat milk. However, the smashed cucumbers were delicious, great flavor and texture. However, they were sliced and not smashed as described. Not an issue since they tasted so good. Hopefully I don’t get food poisoning from eating the raw chicken today. Would have been nice for them to offer some kind of consolation, especially given the automatic service charge and added gratuity that I gave for fast casual/counter service. At least they made it right by making another sandwich. But my friend was already done with their meal and drink by the time it came. Also, glad to see they are part of the in kind network.
Matt — Google review
Beautiful space and lovely staff, but the food is horrible. My breakfast sandwich came out drenched in mayo and what tastes like kraft cheese. The hash browns were even sadder - they look just like the Trader Joe’s microwaveable patties. Everything is served in plastic (why???). Huge waste of money. I tried to scrape off as much as I could and eventually gave up to get new breakfast elsewhere.

Any Day Now is one of those spots that just feels good the moment you walk in — full of natural light, lush plants, and plenty of cozy seating that makes you want to stay awhile. It’s the perfect place to relax, catch up with friends, or just enjoy a great meal and coffee. The Kimchi pancake is a must-order — perfectly crispy on the outside, flavorful, and seasoned just right.I wish they kept the original cucumber salad, but the chickpeas aren’t bad. I also love their Ube Vietnamese Coffee, which is creamy and unique, and the Orange Espresso Tonic totally surprised me in the best way — refreshing with the perfect citrus kick. The service can be a little slow during busy times, but honestly, it’s worth the wait. Between the quality of the food, the inventive drinks, and the calm atmosphere, Any Day Now is one of my go-to spots.

My sister recommended that I give Any Day Now a try and she never disappoints! The ambience is amazing and the space is very bright. There is plenty of seating options from booth style to quaint little tables for two. I ordered the Golden Turmeric Latte with Almond Milk; it had just the right amount of Turmeric in it to make it taste delicious. I will have to go back and try out their food options

LOVED this stop. This breakfast sandwich was a brand new flavor profile and I thought the kimchi was so delicious! It came with a side of chili oil too which was tasty. The ube latte was so yummy it was nutty and a little sweet and obviously so beautiful too! Awesome stop

A local neighborhood gem and officially my favorite cafe! It's such a comfortable co-working space to settle in and get work done - plus the food is amazing! It's clean and inviting with a variety of food options that cover the globe. I opted for an Iced Masala Chai Latte which was perfect along with a kimchi, egg and cheese which was so interesting but flavorful. Not a combo I'd think would go well together but it complemented the palette just fine. It was a little chilly inside with the a/c blasting so I ended up ordering a hot masala chai but other than that, I can count on this space to be just what I need to escape for a few hours
Erica W — Google review
Good place for coffee and lots of seating and tables for people to work, chat, or hangout. Overall I thought it was okay! Came here for coffee and light lunch. Drinks were yummy as I got a cold brew with ube foam (wasn't really a foam that topped the cold brew but i got my drink and the foam and cold brew was already mixed together) and my sister got a lychee lemonade. Food was good, but wouldn't be the reason I come back or anything - maybe dinner would be better! Curly fries honestly might of been our favorite. There seemed to be just a lot of confusion with people ordering on how they would get their food, peoples names were called out, people picked it up themselves from the counter, or sometimes the food was carried out to you. Not really clear and took kind of a long while! The people bringing the food out though were really nice!

Restaurant
Filomena Ristorante, located in the heart of Georgetown, has been a staple for nearly 40 years, offering authentic Italian cuisine and a cozy dining experience. The restaurant is known for its in-house handmade pasta and classic Italian dishes. The decor is described as over-the-top with a homely vibe that adds to the overall charm. Despite being popular among tourists, it's still considered worth the visit for its comforting food and unpretentious atmosphere.
We happen to stay in Georgetown DC and on the way to the hotel the name caught my eye, because one of our family members has the same name Filomena. We have to go eat there I told my husband. Shortly after we walked in, the restaurant is downstairs so it’s a flight down. We were greeted and seated immediately even though the place was packed on a Monday night. The atmosphere is happy and energetic. The food comes quick in huge plates. We had the vodka rigatoni with chicken. It’s the best vodka rigatoni we ever had in our entire life. Better I have to say than Italy itself. Plates are to be shared, the service was excellent. We will fly back there just to go eat at Filomena Ristorante There you have it. So if you are traveling that way, stop by. Make a reservation not sure if you will be able to claim a spot at this place.

Stopped by for a late lunch and it was quiet, which was nice. We were greeted right away with a warm welcome. The restaurant has a really unique vibe. We spotted some amazing-looking desserts on display as soon as we walked in. The staff was great, friendly and attentive. Our order wasn’t quite right at first, but the team offered to fix it right away, and honestly, the food was so tasty we didn’t mind. The portions are huge, so we just shared everything family-style. Don’t miss the lobster cardinale, it's to die for!

Filomena is a popular Georgetown Italian spot with big portions but average flavor. The Linguini Cardinale and meatballs were fine, just not worth the $69 before tip. Desserts look pretty but seemed overly sweet. Overall, decent but overpriced — good if you’re already in the area, but not a must-visit. Very good decorations went during Halloween.

We celebrated my husband's 35th birthday here on Oct 3rd! The staff was so kind and welcoming. 5/5. I will say the vibe was not what I was expecting, but if you are looking for hearty Italian food this is a great spot. We really liked all the dishes. The waiter was quick and good, but a little pushy about getting dessert and drinks, which we did not want on a Monday night. Glad we tried Filomena. O and the portions are pretty big which is nice.

My review will most likely get lost in the sea of other 5 stars, but I just wanted to say how truly amazing this place was ! I lost my nonna two years ago, and have been trying to find somewhere even remotely close to how her food tasted ( we all know love is the secret ingredient) if I closed my eyes and savoured the bites, I felt like I was back in her kitchen as a kid in the 90’s. I know you get hundreds of reviews a month, but truly thank you for bringing me back to how my nonna’s kitchen felt and tasted like. Truly authentic! Service was also top notch :)

a beautifully decorated restaurant that is clean with waterfront views. service was good until our server got my entree order wrong even though i clarified with her twice, even pointing it out on the menu when she wrote it down. the manager apologized and the wrong entree was complimentary due to their mistake. our experience did not end any better. the server failed to ask how we wanted our checks and even gave it to us without us asking if we wanted anything else. we needed the check split 3 ways. she was hesitant to split them, saying we can write down the amounts for each card instead… i guess that would’ve been faster as it took her over 10 minutes just to separate the check. as far as the food, everything was prepared and presented beautifully. food comments are in the attached photos.

Highly recommend!

Great views a really good brunch service is awesome. Food is so so stick to the normal menu. Any of the special menus are super tiny portions and very mediocre food but overall the regular breakfast menu for brunch is amazing Roger or Richard. I think the waiter's name was is amazing and Joey the manager is awesome.

Try the Sunday night prix fixe menu: four courses for $85. With the exception of the dessert, one of the very best meals I’ve had in DC and a bargain for the price, with excellent service and surprisingly robust portion sizes. We supplemented with a half dozen oysters (exceptional, $27) and a spinach side dish ($16, rounded out the entree). The four prix fixe courses for our dinner: Snapper crudo (exceptional) Pasta with mussels, lobster and shrimp (exceptional) Salmon with fennel puree and blood orange (excellent) Banana and chocolate pound cake (essentially a muffin, exterior was dry; partially redeemed by marscapone cream served on the side, but not on the same level as the rest of the meal) Cocktails are exceptional, wines by the glass very good, service and setting exceptional. Window tables or outside seating flanking the Potomac are superb. I look forward to another occasion here.

Despite someone booking my birthday reservation for 12 well in advance, our private room was given to another party. We were split into two tables — not too far apart, but definitely a bit of a walk to mingle with everyone. That said, the food was amazing! Towards the end of the night, once most tables had cleared, the staff moved us to one large table offering the entire table one of each dessert — which we truly appreciated. Still, given that my reservation (a surprise, booked four weeks in advance) was mishandled, the initial separation was disappointing. I would possibly revisit again as the food was amazing!

This is the best seafood place in DC. I eat seafood every day and fly to Spain/portugal at least twice a year just to eat. (I consider 99% of seafood dishes trash in the U.S.) And the service is always excellent. I will go back often. At the end, they give free ice cream to kids — and we certainly appreciate your kind gesture! Will be a regular.

Ted's Bulletin is a bustling eatery in Capitol Hill that serves American comfort food and offers breakfast all day. The place is popular, so it's best to arrive early to avoid the brunch crowd. The restaurant has a cozy 1920s/1930s vibe with leather booths and old school movies playing on projection screens.
I had a great experience at Ted's Bulletin. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the blueberry tart, it was the highlight of my meal! The service stood out the most; the staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcomed throughout our visit. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to coming back soon.

Can’t say about other locations but this location is great! The staff here have such good vibes, they made you feel welcomed! Food comes real fast despite the busy lunch hour. We enjoyed our food a lot. Ordered some tarts to go, they are amazing!! Flaky texture and fruit stuffing are so good together. There’s a 5% surcharge, I hope the staff actually get the full amount! If they don’t, they totally deserve a raise!

Amazing Cinnamon Roll. We just stumbled upon this amazing restaurant and ended up coming here 3 days in a row. Their breakfast is great all around. If you’re lucky enough to visit when cinnamon rolls are being served order two ;) they are huge and packed full of flavor, the amount of icing could be more but it’s truly delicious. They have a tasty bakery section and everything I tried was top notch. Service was fast and friendly. Their prices were good and huge portions. Overall if you’re looking for a great meal give them a try or two!

It was a pleasant experience, the atmosphere was nice and welcoming. I really recommend making a reservation. The host and waiters were super friendly, super nice. Thank you Mr. Mabi (Sorry I'm winging the spelling). The restaurant was tidy and clean, unfortunately there was some sticky parts on our table, I'll give them 7/10 on that. Talking about the food: I ordered, ● Crispy Calamari: was dilecious but could be crispier. ● Ted's Tomato Soup: dilecious, but also could be better. ● Stovetop Chili Soup: dilecious. ● Steak and Cheese Eggrolls: dilecious ● All American Burger: good but really heavy. ● Szechuan hot chicken sandwich: good but really heavy. ● Steak frites and NY strip: dilecious. ● Ragu Lasagna: was dilecious Food quality was great, survise was really good. Thank you all. Would I come back? Yes, I would.

So good, we went here twice. An amazing chicken sandwich and lobster roll, fresh and delectable. The dessert options are not an after thought like most restaurants and nearly everything is very worth the calories. And yes, the cinnamon roll is worth showing up early for brunch, it’ll blow your mind.

Zach the ginger was a good server. The food was good, but not necessarily great. The gravy had a vinegar taste to it. Biscuits were amazing. Cheese grits. Nope. Stop making them. They taste weird. Prices were reasonable too.

Very pleasant spot! Crashed here twice for a brunch during my short trip to DC. Plenty of options for a meal and drinks, cozy atmosphere to settle in. Zack’s service was pleasant and friendly, really enjoyed his advices. Portions were extremely huge, but I guess it is normal in the US (in Europe is is much more aligned with human’s capabilities to eat the portion). Will gladly come again if I am ever again in the DC.

I really enjoy Union Market whenever I go. They have food, drinks, and desserts all in one place! In the past, I've been on their roof tops with my kids during one of their events. It's a great place to hang and social with friends, go on dates, or you're just looking to try something new. There's bbq, seafood, Asian inspired restaurants, soul food, fusion dishes, specialty drinks, health based selections, and much more. You won't be disappointed. What are you waiting for?

What a cool spot! So much character and many options for food, shops, and experiences! A gem in DC, IMO. Lots of motivational art, so if you’re in the need of an artistic pep talk and so many different cuisines of food you might be craving, this is the place!

Union Market is a vibrant destination packed with diverse food vendors serving everything from casual meals to unique drinks and delicious desserts, all at reasonable prices. The fun extends beyond the market, especially with events like this weekend's "Race the District" go-karting in the parking lot. With its many surrounding wholesale stores, the whole area is full of interesting things to explore.

DC has an incredible variety of restaurants for every taste and foodie level, but when I don’t want to overthink where to eat, I always head to Union Market. It’s the perfect place to walk in and choose whatever you’re craving in the moment — Mexican, American, Asian, seafood, BBQ — you name it, they have it. Last time, I went for brisket at 2Fifty’s, and it was amazing. Their combos are perfect if you're in the mood for slow-cooked meat, and the portions are generous enough to share. I also love that this place has a spacious outdoor seating area where you can enjoy your food in the fresh air — such a great vibe. Beyond the food options, you can also find market essentials like fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, coffee, flowers, and several specialty shops. It’s a place where you can eat, explore, and shop all in one stop. Always a reliable, vibrant, and delicious experience. If you liked my photos, follow me on Instagram @framinizingdiary.

I tried Fishwife and got the Invasive Fish Sando. This is also the first time I have been at this market. The blue catfish was deep fried light yet with a lot of crispness. It was definitely worth the purchase because it didn't feel heavy in the stomach. The wait time was about 10-15 minutes because they were quite a number of people, but the employees were patient and considerate as they made sure that each customer got their order by double checking and had good attitude! I would definitely come visit again!

Guests can enjoy indoor or outdoor dining, including a Spanish brunch on weekends. The Terraza at Del Mar provides an open-air sanctuary under a pergola with stunning views of the Wharf and beyond.
We ordered a few drinks and shared several absolutely delicious dishes. Had such a lovely time here—the food was amazing! First time at Del Mar and we went to celebrate a birthday. A friend recommended it, and wow… it was amazing. The food was incredible, super fresh, and full of flavor. The service was truly excellent, and Dillon took care of our table so well. The pacing was perfect, giving us time to browse, choose, and enjoy each dish without feeling rushed. Overall such a wonderful experience. I’d absolutely come back again and would 100% recommend Del Mar to anyone looking for great food and exceptional service in DC

So, we checked out this restaurant for a special occasion, hoping for a great meal, and overall, it was a pretty nice experience... with one big 'but. Right off the bat, the host was super welcoming and got us seated right away, even in the middle of their afternoon rush. Jose, our server, was fantastic – really attentive and helpful the whole time. Big bonus points for Del Mar for having crayons and a coloring sheet ready for our toddler! That's always a win. Now, the food itself was legitimately delicious. Seriously, top-notch quality, everything came out hot, and the timing was perfect. I even tried to snap a few photos, but my attention kept getting pulled away by something a bit... buggy. The problem: As soon as our food arrived, we were absolutely ambushed by gnats! Not just a few, but enough to be a real nuisance. We hadn't seen a single one until the food came out, so I'm pretty sure they were drawn to it. We were constantly swatting, but it felt like a losing battle; at one point, we were just squishing them left and right. They did offer to move us, but since our food was already being served, we just decided to tough it out. The manager popped by a few times to apologize, which was nice. As for how they handled it, Del Mar did take a few items off our bill. We appreciated that, especially since we'd ordered some wine and such. But honestly, for the level of disruption, we were a little surprised it wasn't more. Maybe they felt it was enough, I'm not sure. It's a tough call because the food was genuinely excellent. I'd love to go back, but those gnats really put a damper on things. So... we'll just have to see."

Some of the best service I’ve had in DC in a while. Our wine glasses were never empty and the food the was perfectly timed. Our server (I believe her name was Melissa) was superb. She was really helpful telling us about the menu and her favorites. Other staff checked in on our experience as well. Food wise - I’d highly recommend the garlic shrimp and the caviar bites. The rabbit paella was almost as good as I’ve had in Spain. Fully worth the pricing here. We will definitely be back soon and often.

This was hands down the best paella I’ve ever had! The flavors were rich, the seafood was fresh, and the texture was just perfect. The service was amazing — we were lucky to be served by Rodrigo, who was incredibly attentive and kind. He could tell we needed help just from a glance and was always there before we even had to ask. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a great vibe and a beautiful setting. We felt so comfortable and well taken care of. Highly recommended!

You can easily find another Spanish restaurant that serves food of the same, or even better quality for half the price. Whatever you do, don’t order the Seafood Paella (SM) here. It costs $150, strongly suggested by the waiter, and it’s absolutely not worth it. two prawns, half a small~mid lobster tail, some small pieces of seafood, and rice that’s half undercooked and stuck so hard to the bottom of the pan you can’t even scrape it off. The waiter told us that the “crispy bottom” was the essence of the dish. Really? He awkwardly tried to scrape it for us. I tasted it, and it was bitter. All I could do was give a bitter smile in return. Their Pan de Cristal (four bread slices for $4) was underwhelming. My son ordered the wild calamari, which was okay, but some pieces weren’t very fresh because no springiness at all. The only dish that stood out was the Blue Crab appetizer. In the end, for two adults and one 12-year-old, we paid $343.70 including tip. Strongly not recommended.

The 4 star is for paella for sure. Of course, it’s overpriced $390 seafood paella for 4 people. Ordered the rabbit paella too. I wish the oyster got more variety and more selection of dipping sauces. Service could be more attentive. Forgot one of our entree and end up getting a rare cold lamp chops first then swapped with another one. Mentioned given the wrong plate to our table. Again, server is no where to be found during our entire dinner. It’s our 2 time coming to this restaurant when visiting DC. Definitely will come back for paella again.

Unconventional Diner is an industrial-chic bistro and bar located inside the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, offering upscale comfort fare, coffee, beer, wine, and cocktails. Chef David Deshaies puts a creative spin on classic diner entrees like chicken and waffles with habanero butter or Caribbean-style shrimp and grits with Pineapple-Habanero Sauce.
Fantastic experience at the Unconventional Diner! The menu lives up to the name with tons of different cuisines represented in the dishes (very unconventional… I’ve never eaten at a restaurant with this much variety). Everything we had was delicious. I loved the Lebanese fried rice and the meatloaf is the best meatloaf I’ve ever tried. The chicken pot pie poppers were also quite tasty. Our server was very nice and brought out a fun birthday surprise for me (thankfully no singing!). I would absolutely eat here again… highly recommend!

What a great brunch's spot. Love the vibes, gives old fashioned diner with modern twist. Their plates even look like paper plates, but they're ceramic. The service was fabulous. It took a little while to get hot coffee but that is my only negative. We ordered the blueberry lavender pancakes, sexy sandwich, and the loaded biscuits. The pancakes were delicious. My favorite savory option was the sexy sandwich, the sexy sauce is delicious. Will absolutely be back again!

Absolutely Delicious. What should you order: Anything! This place has delicious food across the whole menu. We ended up coming two day in a row as it was that tasty. The loaded breakfast biscuits were crazy flavorful. My wife loved the pancakes, which were top notch. The star of the show was the chocolate cake, which may be the best Chocolate cake I’ve ever eaten. Overall come here hungry and leave super happy!

Unconventional Diner really lived up to the hype. The food was amazing and the staff was super friendly and welcoming throughout the whole visit. I tried the chicken and waffles for the first time and I wouldn’t regret that choice one bit. The chicken was juicy, flavorful, and tender, and the sauce tied everything together so well. What really elevated the dish was the butter, it had scallions in it and that extra touch made a big difference. Their fresh orange juice was the perfect drink to go with morning routine. Definitely one of those places you remember and want to come back to. Great food, great vibes, and great people.

It was a pleasant experience, the atmosphere was nice and welcoming. The host and waiters were super friendly, super nice. The restaurant was tidy and clean, unfortunately there was a dirty glass which they changed with a plastic cup, I'll give them 8/10 on that. Talking about the food: I ordered, ● Chiken & waffles: was below average, came really dry and flavorless, very sad. ● Greek Full dead salad with Salmon: was ok, the Salmon was a little over. ● French dip poutine: was good but really heavy. ● Cajun Srimp & Grits: was dilecious. ● Double cheese Burger & Frise: was ok, could be better. The fries are really good. ● Buttermilk pancakes: was to the dry side, but it was ok. The Srawbarry and Brownie cakes area really dilecious. Food quality was ok, survise was really good though. Thank you Carlos. Would I come back? Yes, I would.
Monear Q — Google review
We had an awesome brunch at Unconventional Diner. The food was cooked perfectly and so tasty. I ordered the loaded breakfast biscuits, which reminded me a bit of a Hawaiian loco moco. The sausage on them was spicy, super flavorful, and clearly homemade or locally sourced, not the generic, pre-packaged stuff. Every bite was rich and satisfying. We also tried the crème brûlée French toast. It came as one thick slice of brioche with a layer of custardy crème brûlée and a crackly sugar topping. I expected it to be overwhelmingly sweet, so I was a little nervous at first, but it was actually perfectly balanced. The sweetness was just right and paired really well with the brioche, giving it a great mix of sweet and savory. On the side, the cheesy grits were fantastic, creamy, comforting, and full of flavor. Overall, I’d definitely go back and would happily recommend Unconventional Diner to any of my friends looking for a great brunch spot.

I found this gem when searching for the best brunch restaurants in DC before my visit. Everything on the menu sounds great, so it was hard to decide. We got the Lebanese Fried Rice with Falafel and the S"Eggs"y Sandwich - both were amazing! I almost didn’t get the fried rice because I was leaning toward breakfast food, but I’m glad I got it! The spices and the yogurt sauce with the veggies in the fried rice were delicious, bursting with flavor! The falafel was perfect - crisp on the outside with a soft and flavorful inside - SO good!! The ambiance is beautiful inside and outside. I highly recommend going for any meal - breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

Sushi Taro is an upscale and high-quality sushi spot located on 17th Street in D.C. It offers chef's choice dinners at the iconic Omakase Counter, where diners can enjoy an interactive dining experience with small dishes followed by seasonal sushi and sashimi prepared by expert chefs. The menu features high-quality sushi, sashimi, delicious noodles, and Wagyu beef.
The Kaiseki is without a doubt THE BEST AND MOST bang for your buck! $135/pp and you get a ton of sushi, noodles, lobster croquette! The staff super professional and the flavors authentic. If you are in the DMV area and you need a special date night spot? Pick Sushi Taro, you will not be disappointed.

Sushi Taro used to be considered one of the top Japanese restaurants in the city, but it is not surprising they no longer are on the Michelin guide in 2025. The table service was good, but the rest of the service was mediocre. The food itself does feel overpriced for the quality, only a few select items were notable. Really not a destination for sushi or sashimi. Nothing they are doing terribly wrong per se, just nothing to write home about.

First time here, this is one of our seven restaurant week this year. I would put this at the bottom of the list. Wait time is long, food portions are little (I get it, sushi, supposed to be little, but why the long wait time). The table next to us waited about 30 min for their appetizer. Food quality was also poor and boring. The appetizer sashimi, the jelly sauce on the sashimi is way too salty, covers up any taste the sashimi had. Warm dish portion is laughable. For 6 tiny fried shrimp, size of thumbs, we waited 20min. Then, only 2 pieces of the sushi combo are tasty, the others taste like what you can find in a typical supermarket sushi box. The presentation was also not satisfying, 2 pieces' fish are damaged (see image). The desert was ok, but the presentation and the cheap plastic cup does not fit the high price per person of the restaurant. The chopsticks are also not reusable, it s the one-time wooden takeout chopsticks. I don't get the hype for this restaurant.
Ebidanko — Google review
Sushi Taro is better than many of the overrated sushi restaurants in D.C. It resembles a traditional Japanese restaurant and offers a fresh, diverse selection of fish imported from Japan. The service was also top-notch. Highly recommended!

I had the menu tasting, all good till it came the hot pot noodles, so off … shouldn’t be in there, doesn’t go along with the set, that’s why i give them 4 stars, can’t wait to try the omakase there, and hopefully none of that will happen in the omakase… it just kill it, period. Other than that everything was an adventure. Thank you for a good experience.

Visited during restaurant week, this used to be one of our favorite Japanese restaurants and since there are more Japanese restaurants where I live, we don't come to DC as often. I have to say I am a bit disappointed with the sushi, I can probably get similar grade sushi at my nearby sushi restaurant. The presentation is underwhelming. I suppose is restaurant week, the affordable menu and so no need to put thoughts into the dish. There is just nothing that jumps out and wow us except for the hoji-cha pudding dessert. Silky smooth and the aroma of the hoji-cha was perfect. I did pairing and the dessert goes well with the green tea plum wine.
Moby C — Google review
Sad to edit from 5 to 3 🌟.This year was totally a deception... the quality decreased (no care or thought given to the appetizer and main dish, very lackluster) and the portion is now smaller ( fish on sushi is thinner and the main dishes are so much smaller.) Normally, me and my husband come home very full with their Kaiseki, however this time after finished dinning here we were barely full. I wonder if they changed the chef or the owner. But with 400$ for 2pp is not worth to come back anymore. --------- (My experience at sushi Taro was alway exceptional. The sushi tasting menu was fresh, juicy and filling, impressed with sukiyaki. One of the best sushi restaurant in DC that I will recommend.)

During our visit to Washington, our family had the pleasure of dining at this remarkable restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the atmosphere — the interior breathes history, with the establishment dating back to 1946. We spent quite some time admiring the vintage photographs and décor, which allowed us to truly feel the soul of the place. An elderly gentleman who served us was incredibly kind and welcoming, patiently helping us choose from the menu. We ordered delicious pasta and mozzarella sticks — everything was full of flavor and very reasonably priced. This restaurant is a true gem, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting the city. A warm, authentic, and memorable experience.

I visited here on a weekday and was surprised by how full and lively it was. This is a cool little bar with elaborate decorations and plenty of seating. They had a huge menu and I believe they serve breakfast all day. Some of the items seemed a bit pricey, but there’s plenty of inexpensive items to order as well. I ordered the hot dog platter which was 8 dollars. My food came out hot and I had no issues, it was pretty standard bar food. The servers were nice and polite. I ordered a gin and tonic and a vodka cran, each was about $6.50. I would usually consider that a bit expensive for a simple drink, but my drinks were really strong. This would be a fun place to visit with friends after a night of sightseeing!

Unique, quirky, true hole in the wall with class. First of all, thank you to the amazing wait staff who handled a bust night amazingly. This was a DDD stop and after eating the food I understand why. The mozzarella sticks are a MUST. If you are nearby, this is worth a stop and you won't regret it.

But for the god awful staff at Tune Inn, this dive bar would be a gem. For over a year, my friends and I have been several times and always leave wondering how the staff remains employed. They consistently treat their patrons disrespectfully and like it is a chore to do their job. This is a general consensus around town (just ask around or read the other reviews here), and we will not be back because of it. I would highly recommend going next door to Hawk n Dove or to one of the many other friendly establishments nearby.

I wish Tune Inn could meet my expectations of a casual neighborhood dive bar, but it falls short every time! The staff couldn’t be less friendly. Every time I visit, they act like it’s such an inconvenience to serve me and/or my group, both at the tables and at the bar. They create an atmosphere where it feels as if you’re intruding on them hosting a gathering at their own home, but it’s not their home and you’re paying to be there. I will no longer be supporting Tune Inn, and I don’t recommend you supporting them either.

The menu features delicious ramen noodle soups, dumplings, sake, and cocktails. Prices for a basic bowl start at $18, with the option of a kids' bowl for $12. Various toppings are available to customize your dish.
We really enjoyed the vibe there. It does feel “underground “ theme even it’s at the second floor. It’s like bar seating style. Their Ramen noodles soup was very creative and the fired chicken was absolutely delicious and impressive. Love all the Japanese beer options and we will definitely back again
Tommy T — Google review
It looks like a fusion style ramen restaurant. I visited on Monday morning. The Tokyo Curry Chicken Ramen tasted good, and the fried chicken was crispy. However, the soup portion was much smaller than what is typically served with authentic Japanese ramen. Also, the Tonkotsu Ramen tasted like something I could buy at the supermarket, and the pulled pork was bland. In addition, we waited several minutes for the waiter, even though only two tables were occupied, which is unusual for a Monday morning.
Helen S — Google review
The steam bun with fried chicken and the root beer chicken wings are both delicious. The fried chicken curry ramen and the numbing garlic ramen are both okay. The pork insides the numbing garlic ramen is delicious tho. The vibe is great. There are not many seats, and there are also no tables, so it’s more suitable for single customers or couples vs. a 3+ people gathering. Overall, it’s a nice experience.

I want to start by saying the food was fantastic! The Bao Buns, Curry Ramen, and Dan Dan Noodles were all packed with flavor and I would happily order again. This being said, the service was shockingly snarky and rude. The host wasn’t friendly at all. It’s really a shame, because the food was so great! Hopefully it was a one time experience, but it definitely was off putting.
Joel R — Google review
Toki Underground was a great little find. I had the ramen, which was flavorful and well-balanced, though I personally wish it had packed a bit more heat. The style and vibe of the restaurant really stood out, authentically Japanese and reminded me of ramen bars I visited in Japan. It’s small and cozy, kind of a hole-in-the-wall spot, but that’s what gives it its charm. The waiter was friendly and attentive, and it wasn’t too crowded when I went, which made for a relaxed, easygoing meal. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving ramen with a laid-back, Tokyo-style atmosphere.
HoneyLeQueen — Google review
Came here without an reservation but after a short waiting time we sat down at the bar. Very friendly staff - excellent cocktails (try the one with the bacon - it’s absolutely worth it). The food is also very good :) really good ramen place!
Erna P — Google review
We had high hopes for this place, but the food was incredibly disappointing. I’m not very picky about food and am open to trying new and different dishes. I’ve tried countless types of ramen, as well as various Japanese, Chinese, and Korean cuisines, and I’m quite familiar with different taste profiles. However, this particular dish simply didn’t taste good.
Reza N — Google review
This place is pretty small, and easy to miss if you're trying to find it. However, the food is pretty good so worth the frustration. Located not too far away from the Union Station metro station. Overall, I think its a great place to get ramen in DC.

Laotian restaurant
Thip Khao Restaurant is a sleek and modern eatery that offers spicy Laotian dishes and classic cocktails with an exotic twist. Chef Seng Luangrath, who fled Laos as a child and learned to cook in a refugee camp in Thailand, brings the heart and soul of Lao food to the restaurant. The cuisine is described as 'spicy funky fermented' with bright, punchy flavors.
A real taste of authentic Laos food restaurant and not just at a family home. Love the pungent and strong earthy flavors as well as the fermented fish. Make sure you can handle the flavor and most definitely handle the heat. I love love love it!

Main dining hall is very loud, felt like I was yelling when I try to speak to my friend across the table. However the food made up for the noise. I enjoy every dish we order, the fried fish is crunching and serve with sweet and sour sauce. Chicken laarb is so good I wanted another serving. Chicken liver skewer was yummy but I wish it was warm when they brought it out. Laos crispy friend was my favorite because it was flavor and season so well I didn’t have to add nothing!! Mango sticky right could have been a little heavier coconut cream cause. Way too runny
C S — Google review
Thip Khao was a delightful experience from start to finish. We chose it because it’s part of the Chase Restaurant Collection, and it absolutely lived up to expectations. The service was warm and attentive, the atmosphere casual and relaxing. The food, however, was the true standout. Every dish impressed, each one bursting with flavor and personality. The steamed catfish wrapped in banana leaves stole the show, tender, aromatic, and perfectly seasoned. Eating the fish with sticky rice by hand was a fun, authentic touch that added to the whole experience. If you find yourself in Washington, DC, Thip Khao is well worth a visit.
Felipe ( — Google review
The noodles were good. I suggest that honestly, stick to the noodle dishes. We order the moak, which was salmon steamed in a banana leaf. However, the fish TASTED fishy. It was lacking in a substantial flavor as well—it was fishy and had dill, but the dill did not permeate the flavor of the dish. My friend who had been here previously had a negative experience with the pork being too fatty as well. The noodles were good, but it tasted similar to Thai food, so I did not feel like I was trying a new cuisine at all. Disappointed, especially for the price point of this restaurant. The sticky rice was a good addition though. The only thing I was excited for in this restaurant is that with almost every dish, there was a multitude of meats available
Anika A — Google review
Very tasty food, I never had Laotian food before but the flavors were amazing. The place is very busy so I recommend getting a reservation if you want to eat here. I enjoyed everything I got. The inside is also very cute and has good vibes.

We had a great meal at Thip Khao! We were a group of 4 and shared some apps, then ordered our own main dishes. We started with piing (chicken skewers), chuenh peek gai (chicken wings) and nahm tok salad. The meat on the skewers and salad were tender and so flavorful. The wings were very crispy and had a really good sauce on it. It also came with sticky rice. For my main dish I ordered the kee mao (drunken noodles) with chicken which was good and a good portion too. For drinks I had their Thai iced tea which was delicious and sweet. Service was great and we were checked on regularly. I made a reservation about 5 days in advance and it looks like they book up quick! It would be tough to grab a same day res so I recommend booking in advance.

We loved Thip Khao. Their dishes are very flavorful, unique and they have a lot of vegetarian options. The eggplant salad and their pad sew ew is excellent.

We made reservations & were seated right on time upon arrival. Our server was kind and gave us suggestions on what to order. The food came out hot & delicious! I didn’t take pictures of everything we ordered. Our favorite was the Gaeng Phet (red curry dish), Chuenh Peek Gai (wings) & the sesame sticky rice dessert with coconut ice cream. The beef jerky appetizer was tasty but I would choose the wings over the beef. We can’t wait to come back to try more plates.

Mediterranean restaurant
Cava Mezze is a Greek restaurant chain that offers tapas-style dishes and traditional Greek cuisine in an industrial setting. The restaurant is known for its modern twist on classic Greek recipes, offering an all-you-can-eat brunch with mimosas for 25 cents. Some of the delicacies featured at this brunch include spicy lamb Benedict, orzo and eggs, and 'green eggs and ham,' which combines deviled eggs with crispy pancetta and fresh herb vinaigrette.
Brunch Mania is an incredible deal. We were expecting smaller plates, but instead we ended up full and happy with a box to take home! I got the hash gyro, spicy lamb Benedict, and banana fritters. I would have had some serious food FOMO if I didn’t do the brunch special. Love an option that lets me try multiple dishes!
Rose M — Google review
Came for brunch on Saturday and did their brunch mania deal. For $38 you pick one item from each course. It also comes with 25 cent mimosas or other alcoholic drinks for $4-$6 each and non alcoholic drinks for $2. I started with the risotto fritters which were ok. Other people at my table tried their Nutella banana fritters which I thought were much better. Second course I got their grilled shrimp which was delicious. The shrimp were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Other people at my table also tried their chicken souvlaki which was also amazing! For the final course I got their lamb bolognese pasta which was also ok. It tasted a little bland with the ground lamb being the only source of flavor. The pasta itself wasn’t that great. Other people tried their spicy lamb Benedict and liked it, but I didn’t try that. For drinks I ordered one of the passion fruit lemonades which was non-alcoholic and it was really good. Most people at our table participated in the 25 cent mimosas and our waiter was good with refilling the drinks. Overall I think I just ordered the wrong things. Most of the dishes I liked were things I didn’t get for myself. If I come back I’ll know what and what not to order.
Anushka M — Google review
Went for Sunday brunch. Menus smelled like rag. Service was good. Food was mediocre. Most of the food was a bit dry, assuming they’ve been cooked and left out for awhile. Their 25cent mimosas were a bit of a joke, barely any alcohol in it… not that I expected it to be good since it’s 25 cents. I don’t think it’s worth $38 pp brunch. Wouldn’t return.
Kay — Google review
This place was delicious ! I really enjoyed every dish we got! This place is more of small plates and designed to share between me and my boyfriend we had ordered four things and it was just right. I’d say maybe skip the dips it wasn’t anything super impressive and kinda pricy for how little you get and opt in for a veggie item. Crispy chicken sliders were amazing! Pork belly was great ! And the N/A drinks were very good! I can’t wait to go back everyone for the most part was pretty nice I feel maybe the food timing was a little awkward and the service seemed more casual then what the prices here I think imply but nothing major.
Natalie — Google review
We came here for a birthday, for the brunch mania and honestly! Everyone was super impressed and satisfied with their food options. The food looked smelled and tasted so good I forgot to take pictures before we dug in. Amazing brunch perfect price. Event the .25 mimosas were made perfectly ! The ginger mimosa was made with their homemade ginger beer delicious. The spicy Margarita was good. The sangria we weren't too much of a fan of but besides that amazing meal. The gyro hash, Greek salad , falafel, hush puppies were all amazing from the first group. Chicken and waffles were great. The French toast is to literally die for baby baby baby . The spicy lamb Benedict but would be better with braised lamb. Brussels , banana fritters and Mykonian potatoes were soooo amazing !
Sarah O — Google review
Really enjoyed this place! The gyros were better than average real lamb meat patties (not the typical ground mystery meat you typically find at gyro places). The cauliflower was the best thing I had, the char and sauce were super tasty. The lollipop chicken was a definitely a nice adaptation of a fried drumstick. The skin was really light and crispy (good for me). Would definitely go back!
Scott Q — Google review
Came here for brunch; second time overall but first time at this location. After the second time, it feels like the experience is not as worth it anymore. This place is pretty good overall with their selections but there are lots of other brunch places nowadays so coming back here would be rare. Their brunch price surprisingly cost more than Founding Farmers Tysons brunch buffet by a few bucks. Actually Founding Farmers has much more options and is better overall in my opinion. This brunch style is made to order- so no buffet lines. The plates come tapas style and can take some time to get them when the restaurant gets busy. Also, can get frustrating when your order never comes out and need to track it down or have to reorder.
Kenny W — Google review
Cava pretty good. The service was incredible and the drinks flowed. We did the $35 all you can eat and the food was pretty varied. My favorite was the lox. The thing I'd say is that none of it was great. It was all super mass produced and it got really packed and loud towards the end. These aren't strictly negatives. The food was delicious!!! I recommend this place.

A fun, vibey spot we checked out for brunch! I adore cauliflower dishes, and this one was no exception. Properly spiced and given all the love that’s typically reserved only for potatoes. The khachapuri is a cheese lovers dream. We needed more than 2 people to be able to finish. Happy to have visited!
Morghan T — Google review
For starters, the food was great. However, our group had a few service related issues. My friend booked an 8 person table as they were told via email that any reservation more than 8 would require us to order the tasting menu. Therefore, my friends excluded 2-3 folks to make it 8 folks so everyone could order what they wished. However upon arriving, they still made us do the tasting menu and were extremely inflexible even though we had 2 vegetarians and 1 pescatarian so everyone was forced to have the same menu. Unfortunate but solid food. Just make sure you book a people or less to be able to choose what you order
Jay P — Google review
The food here is crazy good. Everything is served family style. Each dish was packed full of flavor. The Khachapuri is such a fun dish and tasted amazing. I think the fried Brussels sprouts were our favorite. The service was amazing matched with great food, couldn’t get any better.

Delicious food, family-style dining, and great service. Highly recommend this place. Get reservations ahead of time. Food is an eclectic mix of cuisines across the globe. Really good flavor. Plenty of veggie and meat options. Tahini chocolate tart dessert was a disappointment since it mostly tasted of whipped cream. But other than that, everything that we ordered was great They forgot our chicken Kebab order, initially. But got that put in fast, once we reminded them and didn't charge us for it to make up for the delay

The food was incredible. The Zilzil (berbere beef) was really amazing. The cheese filled bread is such a fun tableside experience and tastes great too.

Compass Rose is such a great brunch spot if you’re looking for variety. The vegetarian around the world tour for brunch is a really great deal - five different dishes for $45. And they are all really amazing. The khachapuri is huge and the sabich is incredible.
Mahima V — Google review
First thing, this review is only for vegetarian world tour. Frankly speaking, it wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. We went there on our anniversary based on reviews on pictures and we came out disappointed. We have been using InKind restaurants for a while now and food wise probably the lowest. Nothing special, for a $115+, for 2, we could have had much better food. Again, not bad but nothing special, I wouldn't go again for vegetarian, I might try something else if I happen to go that way.

I did not eat here. I only had drinks down in the bar downstairs. The old fashioned drinks were spot on and the service very friendly. There was plenty of space to wander about and relax with a buddy to share a drink.

Crimson Whiskey Bar is such a cozy and stylish spot if you’re a whiskey lover or just looking for a great place to unwind. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a cool, intimate vibe that’s perfect for date nights or catching up with friends. The whiskey selection is impressive—lots of unique options and knowledgeable bartenders who are happy to help you find something you’ll love. I tried a couple of their signature cocktails, and they were beautifully crafted and balanced. The food menu is solid too, with tasty bar bites that pair really well with the drinks. Service was friendly and attentive, though it did take a little longer than I expected during a busy night.

Great little bar downstairs in the Motto. I went for a Kentucky derby party and the atmosphere was cute and fun. Great mixed drinks with fine attention to detail. Many places to sit and relax. Loved it.
Brian G — Google review
Great happy hour, huge selection of whiskey, which I took advantage of, but the dish I got was an embarrassment. I ordered Crispy Pork Belly, which usually means a strip of chunks of skin on pork cooked so the skin is crispy and delicious but this was just rando pieces of pork dipped in batter and fried. They should change this dish or get rid of it.
AJM — Google review
I wish I could rate the downstairs whiskey bar separately from the upstairs “diner” area. We often come here before or after seeing a movie at Regal. The food here is always delicious. I ordered a chicken sandwich and it was super super yummy. The service is another topic. Our servers were overall friendly, but not knowledgeable and a little standoffish. The vibe upstairs is not always it. Downstairs we always have an incredible time and the bartenders are excellent at their job and incredibly knowledgeable.

Lovely staff, food and atmosphere at the Crimson Bar. They have terrific happy hour specials (4-7pm) and their smash burger is delicious ($18). Freddy and the bartenders are super nice!

Service was excellent — the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. I’m such a clueless person that I left my wallet behind, and they kept it safe and intact for me to pick up the next day. Dolcezza Gelato & Coffee is a charming shop with multiple locations in Washington, DC. They are known for their unique gelato made from local ingredients and Argentine-style sorbet that is extra smooth and rich. The flavors are diverse, including orange honey cardamom, roasted strawberry, black and white cookie batter, and chocotorta. Their Cafe Unido coffee perfectly complements the gelato.
It is one of my favorite spots! Everything here is seriously delicious; especially the ice cream; like the dark chocolate flavor! What I love most is that they’re open until 11 PM, which makes it a perfect late-night treat spot. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!
Fafa G — Google review
Located in City Center with high end shops, this gelato/coffee house does get a lot of traction from shoppers. It is a small store with a good number of tables and chairs/stools for any group size. I am not a coffee person, so I came for their gelato. I love to try interesting flavors, thus I had the blueberry lemon thyme flavor, and mascarpone and berries flavor. Both flavors weren’t strong, and the blueberry definitely overpowered the lemon and thyme. I tried the dark chocolate fudge, and roasted strawberry flavors too. Both were rich and good. They paired well together as the dark chocolate fudge was bitter, while the roasted strawberry was sweet. They sell gelato in pints too! Service staff were friendly and they moved fast. Though the line could be long, it would only be a short wait.
Hayley F — Google review
Visited twice and had the Dark Chocolate Fudge, Blueberry Lavender, Roasted Strawberry Gelato, which was dense, rich, velvety and silky. Each flavor had the right pure and authentic intensity to match its name. Ordering lines were long, but service was fast. That said, we asked for a specific order of how we wanted our flavors scooped, but the server ignored our simple request, and didn't seem to care so we decided not to leave a tip.

This gelato is reminiscent of some of our favorite spots in Italy! My husband and I stopped here for dessert after having a very poor dining experience for our anniversary. I got a small with pistachio and dark chocolate (one of my absolute favorite pairings), while my husband got a small with black and white cookie batter and roasted strawberry. Each flavor was sooooo good, and the gelato honestly made our night. We’ll definitely be making stops here again and again!
Samantha S — Google review
Finding good quality gelato in America is always hard but the gelato here was incredible so I was pleasantly surprised. The staff member at the counter was friendly and generous with letting us try samples. I tried the pumpkin spice, dark chocolate, strawberry, and hazelnut. All were fantastic. The small portion was also generously sized and allowed you to get two flavors. Additionally the prices were reasonable. All in all I would definitely go back if I was in the area

Dolcezza Gelato & Coffee at CityCenterDC is a must when you’re craving something cool and delicious in the heart of downtown DC. Their handcrafted gelato made fresh daily is consistently top-tier. We’ve been loyal fans for years, and they never miss. The flavors? Always seasonal, always creative. Think Coffee & Cookies, Avocado Honey Orange Sorbetto, and their signature Affogato with rich espresso poured over velvety gelato. Pure magic. Pro tip: weekends can get busy (I’ve seen the line wrap out the door!), but it’s absolutely worth the wait. Beyond cones and cups, Dolcezza also sells push pops and pints to-go—perfect for a grab-and-go treat or a little freezer indulgence later. With several locations across the DC area, you’re never too far from a scoop of something special. When the craving hits, Dolcezza is always a good idea.

Chicken restaurant
Bantam King is a vibrant ramen and fried chicken spot located in the bones of a former Burger King. The restaurant offers a funky setting with Pop Art decor that pays homage to its predecessor. Specializing in chicken-based ramen, Bantam King presents various broth options, with the clear chintan standing out as a limited yet remarkable choice. Additionally, their southern American-style fried chicken has gained popularity, served with fixings for an all-inclusive experience.
Always good stop when you need fried chicken and hot ramen. All dishes are chicken or veggies. Although I prefer my ramen with pork I love this place and always coming back for more miso broth. Fried chicken as appetizer is a fight at the table every time. I guess next time we need to get more instead of sharing :) Bring your appetite!
Sabina K — Google review
I recommend the Nashville Hot Chicken, it’s halal and it was one of the best pieces of chicken. Sweet, spicy and crispy on the outside, hot and tender on the inside the perfect blend. The classic Soup and noodles were alright, get u full but nothing too special, reason why I gave 4 stars.
Zarrar M — Google review
Bantam King’s chicken-based menu consists of ramen and fried chicken. While the ramen broth lacks the depth and richness of pork-based broth, the Shoyu ramen ($15 plus tax) is nonetheless hearty and filling. The gyoza (4 pieces for $6.75) comes in a mild chili sauce. The service is very efficient. The interior has the vibe of a diner.
Augusto P — Google review
Service can be a bit slow, but I think that could be a testament to their popularity. Even in off peak times, this place has happy diners. They have the crunchiest, most delicious fried chicken in the city, and the ramen slaps too. Don’t forget to try the gyoza too (it’s hard to go wrong with gyoza, but their sauce is pretty memorable).
Kelsey J — Google review
The food was phenomenal. I saw this place on TikTok and decided to give it a go. The fried chicken was delicious and moist. The spicy miso ramen with extra toppings was also amazing. The place was really busy when we arrived we waited about 20min because other people said it was worth the wait. The staff was really friendly and had great customer service skills especially during peak hours dealing with tons of requests.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Delicious halal ramen! The broth was rich and flavorful, and the toppings were super fresh. Great service and clean place — definitely coming back!
Ammo J — Google review
Came here to meet up with some friends, and because of religion and diet restrictions, they chose this restaurant because it's halal. Being one of the few times actually having halal prepared food I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken definitely tasted much cleaner and better. You dont taste the iron or anything else from the chicken. Very clean tasting. The only meat option was chicken. They also sell fried chicken along with Ramen. The options are limited at this place so do not expect a very big menu. Now, on to the Ramen portion. I have a very, very strict rating scale. I take every thing into consideration. I give the Ramen a fair 5/10. Its very average. Not blow your mind by the depth of flavor or the intensity. I got the spicy miso Ramen and it was slightly spicy. Not enough to make you take a sip of water or anything crazy. I wish they had options on the table itself for you to enhance or add to your Ramen. Not sure if it's something you ask and they bring out but it wasn't mentioned or brought up. The Ramen didn't have much in it besides the chicken, corn and some other stuff. If more stuff was already added and included it would justify the 20$ price for a bowl of Ramen. I would have been happy paying 15$ for the bowl i had received. Having to pay extra for things that should've been in the bowl was a bit crazy. The vibe was good. Be warned. This location is in the heart of Chinatown and it took me well over an hour just to find parking. Paying obscene prices for parking lots or garages around the area is not it.
Kevin H — Google review
Food was delicious, with generous portions, great flavors, and excellent service. The dining space isn’t too large, so I imagine it can get busy. Most of the menu outside of the gyoza is halal or can be prepared halal (removing the wine spray for the ramen). The dark meat fried chicken plate was excellent! The rice with chicken drippings and butter was a nice touch! Overall, I would definitely come back!

We enjoyed our Beirut and Athens sandwiches. There aren’t really places to eat inside (four awkwardly placed countertop spots), but when it’s warm out, it looks like eating on the benches outside is an option. Service was fine, but not particularly friendly.

I visited this restaurant yesterday, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The moment I walked in, the place didn’t feel clean or inviting—but I decided to give it a try based on a recommendation. The food itself didn’t taste good, and to make matters worse, I found a piece of plastic in my sandwich. That was the final straw. I won’t be returning, and I honestly don’t understand the positive reviews.

HIGHLY recommend. They have so many unique subs, all served on the same perfect bread. It was really hard to decide because I saw at least 5 I wanted to try. One of their regulars who was picking up gave us some recommendations, she said everything was good it just depended on your mood. (Thank you, nice lady!) My husband took her advice and got the kingston jerk chicken sub and I had the Buenos Aires. The steak was cooked to perfection but the jerk chicken was our favorite. The subs are large enough to split but you wont want to. The staff was friendly and very fast. They do have a table inside and bench outside but this a take out place. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Food) ⭐️⭐️⭐️½ (Seating) Hidden Gem Near the Convention Center! SundeVich sits off 9th Street down a small alley — easy to miss but worth finding. Inside, a huge chalkboard lists creative sandwiches named after cities around the world. I had The Kingston, a jerk chicken sandwich bursting with flavor and topped with pineapple salsa and fresh greens — absolutely incredible. The shop is small with one indoor table and a bench outside, great on nice days but tricky in bad weather. Still, 5 stars for the food alone — a must-try for anyone who loves a true sandwich masterpiece!

Solid sandwiches drawing inspiration from a wide variety of cuisines -- I love the premise of eating around the world (or at least the capital cities of the world) through sandwiches. I tried their Cairo, a vegetarian sandwich with fresh herbs, brined veggies, cucumbers, walnuts, and hummus. I opted to turn it into a salad (which I was so grateful you could do with any of their sandwich combos) and added smoked salmon and avocado. The portions are incredibly generous -- I swear they must have added an entire pack of smoked salmon! The ingredients were super fresh, making it an all-around tasty meal.

Update: Still a solid choice, but my Buenos Aires, lacked salt and seasoning - but was loaded with meat. Previously: Both locations produce consistently enjoyable and diverse sandwiches. This new location is now establishing Grace Street as a place to go - off the beaten path from M and Wisconsin. The sandwiches are great and the location is fresh and inviting with two other stores that share the space; Grace Street Coffee and South Block. Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz

Maketto is a unique food and fashion marketplace that offers a blend of java, street food, and trendy fashion labels. It's not just a restaurant but also features retail spaces, a coffee bar, and a pastry shop all in one place. The chef behind this concept is Erik Bruner-Yang, known for his popular DC restaurants. Maketto celebrates Lunar New Year with symbolic food and special offerings like drunken shrimp fried rice and apple ginger cake paired with loose leaf tea.
Food was outstanding. The soup dumplings, red curry, and short rib were both standout dishes. Also the service was 10/10, someone who wasn’t even our server offered us alcohol free wine after learning we don’t drink. Definitely a great experience!

All around excellence. The food is just the right amount of spice to wake up the taste buds. Every dish was done right and oh so delicious. It reminds me of momofuku but without the insane price tag. The service is attentive without being overbearing. Just a very enjoyable experience. Will bring friends here.

My boyfriend made a reservation here so I could celebrate my birthday with my girlfriends, and it was wonderful! This was my second time visiting, and once again they did not disappoint. The food was just as good as I remembered, the atmosphere was great, and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We ordered the Crystal Shrimp Dumplings so flavorful, especially with fish sauce and lime if you enjoy that combination. The Ginger Chicken Soup Dumplings were also very tasty, packed with rich soy sauce flavor. The Sourdough Scallion Pancake was excellent, and the Lo Mein was just as delightful. The shrimp dumplings were such a hit with my girlfriends that we had to order a second round! Overall, it was the perfect place to celebrate and share good food with friends. I’ll definitely be back again!

The regular menu is incredible, but I just have to give a special shout out to the Saturday bake sale. The themes are always super fun, the spread is beautiful, and the food is DIVINE. There’s always a line, so get there right at opening if you really want something in particular. But the staff are always so cheerful and friendly even on their busiest mornings. This has become the best part of my weekend!

Overpriced small portioned foods with no flavor. Cambodian noodle was as bland as water. Curry was too sweet. Peking duck was gamey and dry, kimchi and other pickled vegetables were served with the Peking duck which were beyond disappointing. The kimchi was a disgrace to Koreans. Bathroom was also filthy. Will not return. The food only looks decent in pictures.

Shrimp fried rice, xiao long bao, and matcha tiramisu were excellent. Fried chicken and noodle soup could be improved. Servers were friendly and efficient.

Service was on point!! Such friendly staff. Maketto is definitely one of my favorite places to visit in DC. The sourdough scallion pancakes, fried chicken, mushroom and leek dumpling, wok fried rice noodles, and leek and mushroom bao continue to be menu highlights. I was surprised by how good the roasted pork-an add on to the wok fried noodles- were. Excellent. We weren’t as into the cauliflower but perhaps it was an off day for that dish. Will most certainly return.
Jennifer H — Google review
I went for dinner. I got duck noodle soup and pork bao. For the pork bao, I’m not quite sure of the decision to make the pork meat flavorless and put the flavorful sauce on the side was the best move. The music was a little loud but other than that the ambience was fine, my waiter was polite and the drinks were honestly better than the food (personally a fan of the matcha latte). The duck noodle soup was better than the bao by a good mile. The dish was a combination of ramen, pho, and Chinese crispy duck. Interesting combination to make… All in all it’s not a bad place to take a younger date, but if you’re going for cuisine or ambience alone maybe choose another restaurant (there are other reviews on this site that the dim sum is better on average).

Oyster bar restaurant
Bar
Rappahannock Oyster Bar is a casual, glass-enclosed stop located at The Wharf in DC, offering a variety of oysters and raw shellfish, as well as burgers, craft beers, and cocktails. The oyster bar features three types of oysters with distinct flavors. It is the first and only DC outpost from the Rappahannock Oyster team, known for producing over 1 billion bivalves a year.
We visited a couple of days ago, and the food was absolutely incredible! The large seafood tower was perfect to share among three. Levi went above and beyond to take care of us, even though we were having a bit too much fun and may have been a little loud (sorry, Levi!). Despite our excitement, Levi handled everything with such grace and professionalism—we truly appreciate it. The restaurant was a bit quiet that evening, which probably made our energy stand out even more, but we had such a wonderful time. Thank you for a great experience! The drinks at the bar were also amazing, I didn’t get the bartender’s name but my husband was VERY happy with his martini :)

Every single dish was delicious. The Chesapeake raw oysters were amazing. Enjoyed the oysters Rockefeller, mussel pasta which my partner said was one of the best sauces he has ever tasted, and the crab cake was one of the largest I had which I partner enjoyed and he normally doesn’t like crab cakes. Great wine and ambiance.

atmosphere is so good to look at the wharf and enjoy the breeze in the fall. Portion was generally on the smaller size but that’s typical of seafood restaurants. Server was quick to help us. Had a great meal here!

So delicious!!! We stopped here for some oysters before catching our Uber, & it lived up to the reviews! I ordered the Rockefeller Oysters🦪🦪, and they were very seasoned and cooked just how I like them! The bartenders were very friendly also. I only ordered the oysters, so I can't comment on the drinks.. but they sounded delicious & I appreciated their fun names. I'm not from here, but if I'm ever in the DC area again, I'll make it a point to stop in again!🦪😋🦪

Really good birthday dinner! I'm pretty good with a vibe next to the water while enjoying seafood. Our bartender/server was very accommodating and made sure I was happy during our visit. We started with the grilled octopus, 6 raw oysters & 6 rockefeller - atleast an 8 across the board - everything was pretty standard. The crabcakes, thai lettuce wraps, combo baskets and Branzino get two thumbs up for flavor and portions. For cocktails, I wasn't a huge fan of the Forbidden Zone and Summer in Dogtown because the mezcal was overpowering but the Seasonal Sangria (Peach) was perfect! Although the weather was terrible, we had a few minutes of calm to enjoy the scene and our food without chaos. I would definitely consider this a top choice for a view and vibes.

Amazing! The service was top Notch, the atmosphere was perfect, clean and quite refreshing after walking outside in the heat. The food was delicious.

Haven’t been back in nearly 5 years. The NYC prices for parking is primarily the reason for not coming back to this area. A solid place for seafood in the Washington wharf area. Can’t go wrong with anything here. We had fresh and fried oysters, shrimp, and grilled octopus. My only complaint was the octopus was a little burnt towards the thinner part of the tentacle. We topped it all with a bottle of Albariño wine. The tariffs probably jacked up that bottle to its price point. Service was good.
Mark B — Google review
The culinary experience was underwhelming. I ordered the Rappahannock raw oysters and the spinach baked oysters. Unfortunately, both dishes failed to meet expectations. I was genuinely disappointed, as I had been anticipating a superior oyster experience. While the Aguachiles were flavorful, they lacked avocado and depth of flavor. The main course resembled spaghetti soup, which was unappetizing. The shrimp and mussels were overcooked. The beverages were not satisfactory, they had a bitter taste.

Wedding venue
Food & Drink
Banquet hall
District Winery, located in Navy Yard, is a modern and globally-minded restaurant and bar situated on the ground floor of a working winery. It's an ideal choice for couples looking for a hassle-free wedding experience as it offers essential decor items such as leather chairs, custom tables, china and glassware, printed menus, and small tabletop decor. The venue features an outdoor rooftop space for exchanging vows with a capacity of 200 guests in the main reception area that boasts floor-to-ceiling windows.
This is my regular spot to go to since I live very close to the location; though let me inform you that I have never been dissatisfied nor have I been unimpressed with the food, service, and overall atmosphere :) ! The first time I visited here, I automatically bought the membership for the monthly wine subscription. The wine was superb, the staff were even better. They have a wonderful staff consisting of Tim, Natalie, Shawn, Hailey, and various others who are excellent in relaying their knowledge of wine. Always taking out the time to greet even in busy hours. They’re just overall wonderful company to enjoy while drinking/eating/enjoying the ambiance of the restaurant. Though I’m usually at the wine bar, in the restaurant they have a wonderful bartender Brooke that is so welcoming and kind— her drinks are so delicious!! Gerald is always kind to greet us if he happens to walk in the vicinity and he has such a lovely big smile, I honestly have not experienced a staff where everyone is genuinely pleasant to be around. I’m so happy that I sought out this place because for months I’ve enjoyed myself so much each time being here. Honorable mention also pertains to the chefs, as they create wonderful charcuterie boards and dishes that are so so flavorful. Chef Steph and Chef Donovan know how to create a wonderful experience through a dish to customers, even without directly being in front of them. That is a very admirable skill, and dinner is an absolute favorite of mine to partake in there. Overall, go!!! It’s so so good and you will not be disappointed in any category:) (All of the pics are of drinks and charcuterie, my two favorite things in the world lol)

We stopped by District Winery on National Espresso Martini Day, and the universe clearly approved — our server surprised us with a few to sample, and they were chef’s kiss! 🍸 The atmosphere is equal parts chic and chill — that gorgeous waterfront view, warm lighting, and a crowd that’s more “wine-and-conversation” than “shots-and-chaos.” The food was beautifully plated and flavorful (highly recommend the small plates if you’re sharing). Service was friendly and attentive, though it did slow down a bit once the dinner rush hit — hence the four stars instead of five. Still, everyone kept their smiles and charm. Perfect spot for a date night, a girls’ evening, or anyone who enjoys a glass of wine with a view and a touch of class. ✨

I really wanted to give this place a 5, but I don’t like businesses that charge service fees on top of gratuity. Keep in mind they charge mandatory 20% on groups 6 or larger (pretty normal). This location has in small print on the menu they charge a 5% service charge for the benefit of their employees (fair wage and well-being). I thought their staff were great and the service was awesome, very attentive. However, i believe the business owners should be providing a fair wage regardless of the service charge as their menu prices are very much competitive for the area. $48 for a charcuterie, $21 for a burger, and $14-18 for a single glass of wine. We absolutely loved the food. The charcuterie had a delicious orange compote, Parmesan and Brie cheese and 3 different types of meats (shared between 5). I had the brunch burger which was delicious and i loved the side potatoes, very crispy and packed with flavor. For wine I had a house made blanc de blanc which was fabulous. Overall, I would totally come back. Services charges always just make me question the integrity of the business. Raise prices if needed but if your prices are competitive just pay your employees fairly, versus charging your customers after they’re already paying a higher end for your services/food.

I always visit a winery in every place I travel and that’s why I visited this one, it was well located and in a very nice area. However, I didn’t like the wines that much. Honestly, I think they should offer a better wine selection, but overall, it was a cool experience.

My now husband and I celebrated our wedding at District Winery this past weekend and we couldn't have asked for a better venue. Some of our friends attended weddings here and said the staff does such a terrific job, but they honestly went above and beyond our expectations. The location is phenomenal- close to the airport and National Mall, by the water and surrounded by greenery. The wood is beautiful and the terrace is unmatched. The staff is even better. Laura Barbieri was the one who showed us the venue and we were immediately sold. Chef Nicholas and Chef KeVaughn cooked outstanding Indian food, even though that isn't typical of District Winery. Because 1/2 of our guests can't tolerate spice and the other 1/2 can't tolerate not having something to set their mouth on fire, they served dishes with a side of diced chilies which several guests said was an amazing touch. Chef Nicholas even took time to hang out with us in the bridal suite while everyone was at cocktail hour and we were changing from our ceremony to reception outfits. That meant a lot. Sydney was our dedicated server for the reception. My husband asked if he could have a sugar free Redbull and she said the venue doesn't carry that. He said, "no problem." We got up from the sweetheart table to say hi to people and were back less than 10 mins later. We saw a SF Redbull can and wondered where it came from. Sydney literally ran down the block, went to Harris Teeter, bought SF Redbull and brought it back just for him. I have never seen or heard of that kind of service in my life! Kat Excellent was our wedding planner and her last name says it all. She's simply the best. She's professional, punctual and a great communicator. Most importantly, she's fun and made our wedding planning process and wedding day better than we could have imagined. District Winery hosts weddings every weekend (sometimes multiple in a weekend). You will forget us but we will never forget you. THANK YOU!

We did a scheduled wine tasting - 5pm on a Saturday. It’s just a seated tasting in the barrel room, not an actual tour - but we learned a lot and had a great time!! Only notes to improve: a snack of some sort would be good with the tasting, even if it’s just a pallette cleaning saltine. The club & purchasing process at the end is really confusing. It’s $22, but some are $28, but it’s more if you want to stay. I’m still unsure cleaning that schema up would be helpful!

We recently hosted our post-wedding brunch at District Winery, and I can't rave enough about them! The staff was an absolute dream to work with, and they went out of their way to craft a specialized 100% gluten-free and vegetarian menu for us. The setting is gorgeous, the food was excellent, and the whole planning process was completely stress-free. I will recommend this venue again and again for any nice wine and food event in DC!

Words cannot express how grateful we are to everyone at District Winery, especially our coordinator Kat, for everything they did to make our wedding such a success. It exceeded our wildest dreams. Kat and the team were a joy to work with and made everything smooth and seamless from beginning to end. The food and drink were phenomenal, and the venue looked and felt incredible on the day of the wedding. Many of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever attended and we certainly agree. We would recommend District Winery without reservation for any event and would love to host another event there one day.

Nestled in the vibrant Union Market District, O-Ku is a chic sushi haven that brings a taste of Charleston to Washington, D.C. This modern eatery features an impressive menu centered around Japanese robata-style dishes and exquisite sushi, all set against a backdrop of sleek decor and stunning rooftop views extending to the Capitol.
Absolutely incredible sushi experience at O-Ku! The atmosphere is stunning — modern, elegant, and inviting. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The sushi was fresh and creative, clearly crafted with care. Huge shout-out to our server Lark, who was friendly, knowledgeable, and made our night even better with thoughtful recommendations. If you blink, you may pass this luscious restaurant up!! It is a complete vibe inside and out! Rooftop dining was closed when we went, but we look forward to coming back and sitting up there. Servers are all friendly and knowledgeable on the menu. The menu has plenty of options and choices. We tried a lot of rolls. Our favorite was the fresh yellowtail. Mouthwatering!!! Eel roll was amazing. Snow crab, blue crab, even tried the short rib! Small dishes to share and make your mouth go boom!! The presentation is top notch! The drinks we tried were different and all went down smoothly.

We loved this place!!!! Came here on a whim and got seated at the bar right away at 7pm on a Wednesday. Our server, Zach, was so good to let us know that we had 3 minutes to order from the HH menu. Our four rolls all tasted really delicious, though we’d probably save the harvest roll for sweet green 😅 if you’re a sushi connoisseur, we’d say the rice was a tad undercooked, but we still loved all the flavors. Non-alcoholic drinks were definitely on the sweet side, but again, flavors were fantastic. Get the sata andagi for dessert. Pillowy-soft and melt in your mouth and the dipping sauce is amazing! 100/10

I had the pleasure of eating at O-ku this week. I was able to sit at the sushi chef table and get recommendations from the staff. They have a great happy hour Monday-Thursday 5-7. I ordered the SALMON USUZUKURI, rock shrimp ( HH) , snow king (HH) , and DROP IT LIKE IT’S HOTATE!. All were delicious, but I definitely recommend the SALMON USUZUKURI. This was graciously recommended by one of the sushi chef trainers from Raleigh, North Carolina and it was a hit! Tender salmon with pops of the crunchy black salt -Amazing! I can see why it’s so popular. The restaurant had great service and ambience as well. Thank you for a lovely experience O-KU. I will be back

O-Ku was overall great! The seared tuna app and scallop temaki hand roll were amazing. My husband ordered the yakisoba noodles which I think was the star of the evening! The pork belly in the noodles was truly so absolutely delicious. The two rolls were good (Mt Fuji and I can’t remember the other one), but they felt underwhelming for the price point. One was essentially a California roll with a bit of seared salmon on top for $20, just felt like a mismatch. I wish I had done the chefs nigiri or more hand rolls. The only other issue was the sushi came out like 15 minutes before my husbands food so timing wise, it was a little awkward - you don’t want to be eating while someone is waiting or be completely finished before the other person gets the food. It’s not a huge deal, I just waited, but most places are able to time when to send all the food out at once.

Had a great time at O-Ku. As soon as you enter the atmosphere is immediately impressive. Dimly lit late night date vibes. Very moody, with great music. The drinks were great and the food was also good. Service was inconsistent, but polite. Food took a while, but the drinks were enough to forget about it. All in all, a good time. We'll be back for sure!

Bar
BUL Korean Bar & Restaurant offers a trendy setting with brick walls and art, serving up delicious Korean street food like yakitori and fried rice. Customers have praised the quality of their delivery service, with particular highlights being the soft tofu soup with beef and kalbi. The Spicy popcorn chicken and Korean fries are also highly recommended for their unique blend of flavors. Visitors have been impressed by the warm hospitality of the owner, making them feel right at home.
This spot has been on my list for a long time and I finally checked it out last night with a friend of mine. The food was excellent, service was friendly and helpful, and the vibe was very chill and relaxed. We started by sharing the bulgogi tacos and it was a superb start. The meat quality was very high, and the bulgogi flavor was spot on, but it was their Korean mayo that set this dish off. Creamy and with just the right amount of heat, it blended so well with the tender steak. Yum. For my main, I had the spicy pork bibimbap and it was perfect. Similar to the bulgogi, the meat quality was excellent, tender and succulent and the spice was just right. All the trimmings were excellent as well. The main dish was their KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) and it was stellar. Just very well battered, excellent spicy flavor and great chicken underneath it all. One of the best versions of this dish I've had. Our server was smiling and friendly all night, very helpful and courteous. Not much in terms of decor, just very simple, but bonus points for having a little crochet stuffie pop up in the store, I picked up 3 items for my daughter! Definitely recommended, will look forward to returning.

At the very beginning I was going to recommend this restaurant and rate 5 stars, until I requested more Kimchi without being noticed I will be charged extra 4 dollars. I kinda dissatisfied with this service here. And the spicy pork ssam we ordered was cut into pieces too small. I’ll prefer the pork is in a bigger slice. The taste overall is okay. My favorite is the rabokki(rice cake bowl), we added cheese which enriched the texture.

The waiters were polite, despite their heavy workload. Although they lost our check with the order and we waited for our food for a whole hour, the waiters apologized and gave us a discount. The food was tasty, not very spicy. The prices were reasonable. I definitely recommend this place.

We sat out on the patio during Porchfest and enjoyed the people watching for hours! Service was great, very attentive. The sweet & spicy KFC looks extremely impressive and was cooked well, but personally I think they could’ve upped the spice level even more. I found it to be a bit bland. Overall would go back.

Little Pearl is a sophisticated restaurant located in an intimate setting, offering a fixed price menu and wine pairings. Founded by Aaron Silverman, the bright mind behind Rose's Luxury and Pineapple & Pearls, this establishment has brought immense buzz to DC's Barracks Row. Situated in a historic carriage house on Pennsylvania Avenue, it transforms from a cafe during the day to a wine bar and restaurant at night.
Had an incredible time celebrating our anniversary here. They really made it a unique, custom and unforgettable experience The food was incredible and many of the dishes challenged your expectations (don’t want to give away the secrets 😉). They also gave the cutest cookie & milk as a late night snack!! You can’t book it, only can request it. But ask to eat in the conservatory! Incredible atmosphere. We are concerned it would be cold (was 20F out). But the room was warm and such a cozy feel!!! It is a bit difficult to find parking as many of the surrounding streets are permit only - so give yourself a bit of extra time.

Absolutely phenomenal. This could easily have been a 3 star Michelin experience. Every bite was impeccably crafted. You could sense the research and care that went into every element. The pacing was perfect. The staff was lovely. If I had to pick any flaw at all, it would only be that the chairs aren’t the most comfortable. Overall, it was one of the best dining experiences of my life and ranks as high as any other Michelin recommended restaurant I’ve ever been to - topping many of them. I cannot wait to return. Also, don’t hesitate to visit if you’re vegetarian. They don’t phone it in. You’ll receive the same consideration as any other diner.

A charming gem set back from a main thoroughfare in the city. Everyone was friendly and the service exceptional. The food and wine pairings were amazing, and they easily accommodate dietary restrictions. They change the menu every few weeks, so it's something to experience at least seasonally.
Nicole S — Google review
Overall good experience but I do have some notes! First course was the angel egg and asparagus tart. I absolutely loved the angel eggs, the white meringue like part had a sweet after taste that balanced the creamy yolk part perfectly. The asparagus tart may have been the star of the entire night, the pineapple was very refreshing with the asparagus. The New England clam chowder was good but it is definitely one of those dishes where you should eat everything together each bite. If you eat anything separately it isn’t balanced at all. Amazing though! Another star was the spring egg custard, I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It practically melts in your mouth and the peas give a great crunch. Surprisingly the wagyu beef salad was not our favorite. The flavors were great, but a few of our pieces had gristle or were just straight fat ends with no actual meat to it. With the price and high rating for this place we didn’t expect this. It’s mostly why I ranked it a 4 overall. Lastly the palate cleanser and dessert were stellar. I love toasted coconut so it may be one of my top 5 desserts of all time! We left the restaurant satisfied but not overly full. This may sound big back but I would’ve loved either slightly bigger portions or one other course! With the price I do love leaving the restaurant feeling like I’ve got my money’s worth!

This was from a year ago. 2-3/8 dishes were exceptional!! 1 terrible (okra) and rest were ok. I'd say the non-veg person had a wonderful time/ absolutely loved the food. Can't say the same for vegetarian versions. Great experience but will not go again. If you eat meat- you'd love this place. See the best and the worst (pics)

We’ve had an incredible and special experience at Little Pearl. It’s one of those places where every detail is thought of but it’s also very spontaneous, not pretentious and super relaxed. The food is awesome, what a menu ! The beef salad, the kind of egg flan and the medjhoul dattes dessert were incredibly flavorful, well balanced, tasty. Oh and the service is the best ! We left with a personalized menu and great memories.

Little Pearl blends contemporary American cooking with a relaxed neighborhood vibe. The tasting menu is creative but not overwhelming, offering thoughtful bites in a bright, cheerful space. Its unique signature is its use of acidity and citrus. Many dishes lean on bright, palate-cleansing notes that keep the meal light and engaging. Dish I liked: Compressed Cucumber with Citrus Gel — refreshing, clever, and beautifully plated.
