Bakery
Coffee shop
Baked & Wired is an artsy bakery and coffeehouse located in Georgetown, known for its signature granola and oversized cake cups. The cake cups come in various flavors such as Pretty Bitchin' peanut butter and chocolate, Karens Birthday chocolate cake, Texas Sheetcake, and Chocolate Doom. Despite the popularity of their cake cups, the bakery also offers delicious normal-size birthday cakes.
A large variety of cupcakes and all are delicious. Favorites are the Vegan Oreo and German Chocolate Cake (both shown). Can be a big line at peak times so would recommend coming earlier in the day. The coffee is good & everyone is very nice! Very limited seating.
Jamie S — Google review
Best cupcakes we've had perhaps in decades. We tried the "Chocolate Doom" and "Razmanian Devil" flavors and both cupcakes were exceptionally moist, light and airy with a perfectly balanced, and topped with a not overly sweet rich, creamy, smooth frosting, which enhanced the cake flavors. Worth going out of your way to try. See my posted photos if you need further pursuasion.
Howard S — Google review
The chocolate peanut butter and dirty chai cupcakes weren’t quoted as best sellers or favorites of the employees, but both were really excellent! The strawberry, dulce de leche, and blueberry lemon are popular choices. Our flat whites were excellent too. The employees were nice enough to explain what a tallat is (a Spanish coffee drink similar to a cortado) despite the long line behind us.
Andrew Z — Google review
We are visiting from Az and never just sit and go to a coffee shop but we were recommended to this place from someone who worked at the Barnes & Noble up the street and we could not be more happy with the recommendation. The coffee & the pastries are out of this world plus gluten free and vegan options are a plus. We have been here 3 times and if we lived closer we would be regulars!
Angela V — Google review
A Sweet DC Icon That Still Deserves the Hype Baked & Wired is a Georgetown must for anyone with a sweet tooth—or a serious love for great coffee. Back in the heyday of DC’s cupcake craze, the debate was always Georgetown Cupcake vs. Baked & Wired. Personally? I think Baked & Wired still wins. The cupcakes are generous in size, super moist with just the right amount of frosting (not too sweet, not too skimpy), and each flavor is paired with a cute, hand-illustrated sign that makes choosing feel like a mix between a gallery visit and a dessert decision crisis. The vibe? Artsy, bustling, and delightfully chaotic. Be prepared: it’s almost always crowded. I don’t think I’ve ever visited when it wasn’t packed. The line moves quickly, but it’s definitely not the place for lingering inside—unless you’re lucky enough to snag a coveted seat. I managed to grab a spot outside, which felt like winning a little cupcake lottery. Also worth noting: the coffee and tea game here is strong. So whether you’re stopping by for an afternoon pick-me-up or a treat-yourself moment, it’s always worth the wait. Baked & Wired is one of those rare places that has stood the test of time in DC—and continues to deliver.
Wendy M — Google review
The cupcakes were really good and so was the coffee. This place deserves all the hype. Good service as well.
Dinesh T — Google review
If you are going to get cupcakes in DC come here! We got the cherry blossom and the German chocolate and both were delicious. Both were soft and moist. Completely different tastes but both very good, and fit their names.
Alex D — Google review
BEST cupcakes in dc! These taste so fresh and delicious. I recommend these to anyone that visits or is looking for a sweet treat. My favorite flavors are the lemon blueberry, carrot cake and red velvet. They also have delicious coffee, biscuits, and their cheesecake brownie is to die for!! They were super helpful when it came to my mom’s allergy accommodations as well

Milk Bar is a renowned bakery founded by pastry chef Christina Tosi, known for her inventive and playful approach to traditional desserts. The menu features a wide array of treats, including the iconic Cereal Milk soft serve, naked layer cakes that showcase all the moist layers, cake truffles, assorted cookies, and more. Special occasion cakes like the chocolate caramel pretzel cake and famous birthday cake are also available.
I can never seem to time my visits right with the super complicated pie that they make here, I'm not even sure if they're still making it. With that being said, all the pies, cake slices, and cookies I have bought from here have been really good. The compost cookie is definitely a must try but really there's no wrong choices here!
Safi K — Google review
I was excited to try this place as for some reason was on a couple list for best desserts in DC area, but unfortunately this place left me extremely disappointed. I talked with staff for a bit and was convinced to try the “Crack Pie” and it was honestly ok a best, but very expensive especially for the portion size. Staff were friendly. Maybe we just tried the wrong things, but we were disappointed by everything. Overall I’d pass on giving it a chance
Coach T — Google review
It was my first time visiting Milk Bar. The atmosphere of the store great & the staff was really friendly and gave good recommendations. I got the cereal milk soft serve with cornflake crunch. It was good but a bit too sweet and overpriced for the size in my opinion.
Magali K — Google review
I was excited to finally try Milk Bar after hearing so much hype and seeing this on Chef'sTable, but honestly it was a big letdown. Every cookie variety I sampled (6 different cookies in total) tasted almost exactly the same—overloaded with sugar and that same artificial sweetness you’d find in any non-organic grocery store cookie. The ingredient lists read more like a commercial snack than a bakery treat, with nothing that feels fresh or thoughtfully sourced. For a brand with such a premium image (and premium prices), I expected unique flavors and quality ingredients. Even the famous ice cream with corn flakes was a disappointment — it was so sugary I couldn’t even finish it. Overall, everything felt mass-produced, overly sweet, and lacking the depth or originality that’s constantly advertised.
Chrissy — Google review
Ana has exceptional customer service. I came in for the first time to celebrate my best friend’s birthday and she took great care of us. These cookies are amazing. I also tried to seasonal apple cider truffles and had to spin the block once more for another 3 pack
Samuel S — Google review
So happy we finally came to the DC site. Milk is always our go to place in NYC, and we didn’t know there was one here. Customer service was also amazing!! Great variety.
Andrea V — Google review
Literally the stuff of dreams! I first learnt about milk bar and Christina Tosi after watching her episode on Chef's table years ago, and ever since I had vaguely thought to myself how cool it would be to go and experience her innovative flavours. Imagine my excitement when I bumped into one in DC! I couldn't have asked for a better experience: everything is *objectively* delicious (both the classics and the seasonal treats). Juan was exceptionally kind, warm and welcoming, and made sure I had the most fantastic experience. I left with in a daze, with a full belly and a big fat smile on my face. Thank you, thank you, thank you! :)
Carmen — Google review
Pretty bad. I wouldn’t expect a “fresh baked” cookie to be wrapped in a plastic packaging. You can get the same quality of cookies from like Subway….. or Jimmy John’s. Nothing remarkable. Overpriced. Tourist/social media trap.

Uncle Chip's Cookies is a charming mom-and-pop cafe that not only offers light sandwich fare but also an array of delectable sweet treats, including cookies and brownies. The moment you step inside, the irresistible aroma of freshly baked cookies fills the air, inviting you to indulge in their mouthwatering options. Each cookie boasts a perfect balance of chewiness and crispiness, bursting with rich flavors that showcase the dedication to creating exceptional treats.
Stopped in here for a quick coffee and cookie during a morning walk. It’s not in the best neighborhood but I would definitely come back to try some of the hot food. Love the concept!
David L — Google review
Every now and again I'd be eating somewhere that had the Uncle Chips cake cookie, and I'd always get it. Shoot, sometimes I'll even stop through and grab one from their brick and mortar location. The other day I was walking past and popped in to grab that cookie but this time I decided to order a sandwich. I ended up getting the Embassy of Turkey and chips, plus two cake cookies (one for now and one for later). Now I've been known to disparage ciabatta bread but this sandwich changed my mind. The ingredients were fresh and it is a lot of sandwich. The bread wasn't as tough as other ciabatta's I've had. The sandwich was delicious and the price is right. I can't emphasize this enough. It can be hard to find a well priced meal in this city but Uncle Chips fits the bill. I'm looking forward to trying a different sandwich on my next visit. You should check them out.
Gordon C — Google review
Was looking for a spot to grab a quick breakfast, and ran across this spot! While I wasn't expecting them to have many breakfast options, they surprised me! They have a number of bagel/bagel sandwich offerings and a few other breakfast items. Not to mention fresh teas and lemonades made in house, as well as coffee. Service was friendly and prompt, and we loved eating our bagels inside their dining area. And while we haven't tried their famous cookies yet, we'll definitely be back!
April — Google review
Genuinely, some of the best sandwiches in DC. Friendly service, quick, and always hits the spot! I love the Embassy of Turkey or the Bates Street. Delicious! Always a go to lunch spot crave.
Helena O — Google review
This review is about a year late, but I cannot recommend Uncle Chip's enough. They were essential for me and my family to survive having a baby in the NICU at Children's National down the road. While it sucked majorly to have a baby in the NICU, Uncle Chips was one of the redeeming and daily joys I was able to experience. They also delivered to the ER room at Children's so we didn't even have to leave the hospital to get our food. The food, staff, and overall experience with Uncle Chip's still brings tears to my eyes over how great they are. The NICU nurses recommended this place and I'm so glad they did.
Kristen K — Google review
As a boutique business owner and event producer myself, my goal is to support other locally owners, small businesses as well. I’m so glad we found Uncle Chip’s Cookies! I can’t say enough about how amazing Shannon and her team were. I was panicked and they helped pull together a huge order for a client within a week. The cake cookies were absolutely delicious. I didn’t know what to expect and trusted that Uncle Chip’s knew what they were doing. We crushed a lot of cake cookies in a week. I would definitely recommend this bakery and order that yummy cake cookie! Thanks Uncle Chip’s for making this happen!
Mollie C — Google review
I am very disappointed with my experience at Chip’s, unfortunately. I ordered Polenta; I was informed it was equivalent to grits. It sounded good; on the menu, it was 6 dollars. The cash register rung me up at 7 dollars. I inquired and pointed to the menu, but the clerk insisted that’s what the computer system had. The food was no where worth the cost. When I saw her make it, I was instantly overcome by skepticism. It looks like these are basically instant grits with a microwaved egg and cheese on top. The egg was rubbery and when I got to the bottom of the bowl, the grits weren’t cooked all the way. Not salted enough. I really wanted to try out this place because it’s a local business; I am doubtful I’ll be returning again. There’s nothing like getting ripped off to ruin a good Sunday mornin’...

Buttercream Bakery did an absolutely fantastic job with making the wedding cake process so easy and streamlined. We loved our tasting, and the cake was absolutely incredible— guests raved about it! We were also especially thankful for the gluten free cupcakes, which gluten free guests were so appreciative of! Thank you so much for making such a delicious experience for us and our guests!!

Hi Buttercream staff. I ordered a cake a few weekends ago. A 2 tier cake with two different flavors. I hosted a surprise party for my boyfriend. The cake was the part I was the most nervous about. When I saw the cake, I almost cried. It was beyond the most beautiful cake I had ever seen. It was beyond perfect and beyond what I was looking for. After I saw the cake, I immediately took a deep breath. When I saw it, I knew I made the right decision. I can’t thank the staff at buttercream enough. Seriously. My boyfriend loved it, and was amazed when he saw it. All of our guests loved it, and brought pieces home. We’ve multiple people from our party continue to ask us about the cake. The flavors were beyond delicious. Every person commented and was staring at their plates while eating this cake. It was perfect.

I ordered a custom cake for my fiancée’s birthday. From start to finish everything was perfect with Buttercream. They responded to emails right away, created the customization my fiancée wanted for her birthday, and gave directions on how to best keep the cake. The cake tasted absolutely delicious. We couldn’t get enough! We will continue to order from Buttercream for special events and hope they reopen the shop so we can try more of their delicious treats! Can’t wait for our next special event that we need a cake for!
Tommys S — Google review
These cream puffs were THE HIT for our small backyard wedding reception! We had a cake (not provided by Buttercream), but, it was overshadowed by these delicious puffs. Everyone asked where we got them, and kept going back to get more or try to choose one with a different flavor (we had mocha and vanilla). These are unlike anything I've had from anywhere else - just absolute perfection. Having something fancy and unexpected like this really made our unconventional wedding feel a little more special. I even had a friend sneak several into my car so I would be sure to have a few as we drove away (because you can be sure that there were no leftovers!) Thank you Buttercream!

I ordered a Best of Buttercream Box back in August. Just catching up with my review now. Quarantine inspired me to try a lot of local businesses and discovering pastry boxes was a fun twist on ordering takeout. Buttercream's Best of box is offered every few weeks in advance online and you don't know what's in it until a day or two before pick-up. You know there will be 6-7 pieces and it costs $37. Check out my photos to see what I got. All of the pastries I got were high quality, rich, and delicious. For me, however, they were too sweet. I split each piece with my Mom and I still couldn't finish any of them in one sitting. I would have preferred a lighter touch. I think other people would be completely in heaven, though. The ordering and pick up process is super quick and I loved that the chef actually handed me my box with some tips on storing.
Jane L — Google review
Looooooooove their cake and cupcakes! These people are top notch and make high quality baked goods, you will not be disappointed. I got a gorgeous unicorn cake from them that was a huge hit with my friends and I got myself a cotton candy cupcake that was the absolute best.

Bakery
Levain Bakery in Georgetown, D.C. is a popular spot known for its cookies, bread, and sweet treats served alongside coffee and tea in a bright whitewashed-brick setting. Established in 1995 by friends Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald, the bakery has expanded from a small bread shop to a nationwide operation.
I love that my favorite cookie was available in DC. I went in around 2pm and there was no line. I bought my favorite: chocolate chip walnut and dark chocolate peanut butter. I also tried their seasonal dark chocolate peppermint. All of the cookies were chewy and delicious! By the time we walked around Georgetown, I finished half of them so I bought another box. At around 5:30pm, the line was long since they were baking new batch of cookies but I didn’t mind to wait for my warm delicious cookies!
Meline J — Google review
I stopped by Levain Bakery in Washington, D.C., and tried their famous two chocolate chip cookies — and they truly lived up to the hype. Warm, thick, and perfectly gooey inside with a crisp golden edge, each bite was rich and satisfying. The bakery has a cozy, inviting atmosphere with the aroma of fresh cookies filling the air, and the staff were friendly and quick. It’s a great stop for anyone craving something sweet and freshly baked while exploring the city.
Fahad A — Google review
Hidden gem in Georgetown! The chocolate peanut butter cookie is insanely good soft, rich, and totally underrated. Morning pastries are just as impressive. Do yourself a favor and try the Whole Wheat Walnut Raisin Roll , the smell in the morning alone is worth the visit.
AHMED A — Google review
These cookies are next level! The double chocolate is a chocolate lovers dream. Not too sweet, just sweet enough. The oatmeal raisin is a close second. The muffins are also excellent. They also have soy free options.
J P — Google review
The cookies were good, but the service was really disappointing. The staff were very nice to the people ahead of us, but when it was our turn, they were rude and dismissive, even though we were smiling and polite. It really ruined the experience.
Leen . — Google review
Cookie was tasty, but expensive. Espresso was incredibly bitter and undrinkable. Also, served in a disposable cup, even when drinking in, which I find to be tacky, not to mention, not very sustainable and bad for the environment. The cookie was also served in disposable wrapping, instead of a plate.
Edward B — Google review
One of the best places for cookies i have ever tried. I have lived on the east Coast and west coast and these are hands down the best cookies i have ever had. VERY LARGE cookies that are soft almost undercooked in the inside while a little crispy on the outside. The chocolate chip walnut is the original and is perfectly sweet with not too much chocolate and the walnuts are perfect in the cookie. Ever so buttery and just delicious. Cookies are around 5 dollars per cookie but again they are huge. There are always seasonal varieties but must try the OG. THERE IS NO PARKING and it is in a very busy part of Georgetown so be prepared to either have a lengthy street parking adventure or try one of the paid garage's that is near. There are no tables inside to eat but there is bar style seating on one wall and a couple of benches near the window. I went on a weekend and it was extremely busy. The line was wrapped around the inside of the store several times and out the door. Surprisingly the line moved very quickly and i was in and out in under 10 minutes. Staff was nice and very efficient. Must visit ❤️❤️

I went to insomnia cookies on H st and everything was amazing, the customer service from Sean was great and he helped with all the questions we had about everything, tasted flavors of ice creams to match with our cookies…. I will definitely be back for the cookies and great customer service.

I LOVE Insomnia Cookies!! Every time I come the people are kind and make me smile. Today, I went to the location on H Street and the worker Sean was GREAT! He was so kind to me and my friend when I brought her to get a free cookie for her birthday. If there are more people like Sean I will always come back to Insomnia Cookies!

First time at Insomnia Cookies ever. I went to H street location I was walking by and smelt the deliciousness. I only came in for a cookie and Micheal helped me decide by letting me test sample the ice cream so I ended up ordering a cookie plus ice cream. Sooo good. Confetti was super soft and ice cream tasted fresh. I also tried fried ice cream filled flavor. Bomb.com I I highly recommend. Thanks Micheal!!!

Nestled in Washington DC's DuPont Circle, Firehook Bakery is a beloved breakfast spot renowned for its top-notch coffee and delectable baked goods. The bakery offers an array of artisanal breads, pastries, cookies, and cupcakes alongside light fare. Visitors can savor a cup of their excellent coffee paired with freshly baked breakfast treats or opt for the popular sausage, egg, and cheese croissant.
A $4 vanilla latte is hard to beat around Dupont Circle, especially one that tastes great! The baked goods looked delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. I’ll be returning for some pastries!!

I love Firehook Bakery! Ham and Swiss croissants hit the spot and the lattes are delicious. I ordered a cake for a birthday and it was a hassle-free process from online ordering until pick-up. Whenever I am in town, I make an effort to swing by and order my usual. Very cute spot. On Sunday’s there’s a farmers market on the same street.

Very cute, quiet place to get some great tasting desserts and relax. I really enjoyed my Mocha... strong and sweet! It was perfect! I also had a Key Lime Tart and a Cheese Danish! Both were amazing! The staff was friendly and very helpful with great suggestions. I will most certainly return!

My iced chai was delicious, one of the best I’ve had in a while. The prices are actually GOOD here unlike other bakeries in the area. I spent $8 on a chocolate croissant and iced chai here. At the other place down the street, that would have been $15+.

Best bakery in dc!! Tried a cinnamon roll with icing and it was delicious. Spinach and feta crossisant was super tasty and so was chocolate espresso cookie. Also got a vanilla oat milk iced coffee and it was very good. Super nice staff and very fast service. Great prices.

Firehook Bakery is often so clutch, for to-go food and coffee, and this central DuPont location always delivers. Their sandwiches are consistently very good, especially the ham and cheese croissant; and there’s only one soup of the day but it’s amazing, we had cream of broccoli. Coffee tastes like it’s from the EU and for regular drinkers is good enough without creamers. Friendly staff, delicious baked goods, and don’t forget, Breads — make Firehook Bakery a DC staple. ig: @harshaeats

I’ve always wanted to come by but never had the opportunity, glad I was able to. Imagine a local café with pastries, coffee and sweet delights made with love and friendly faces. 🥰 The morning chatter ensuing from locals coming and going with greetings echoing long after overlapping with the morning hullabaloo just adds to this perfect little spot in DuPont Circle.

When in DC around the DuPont circle area, you need to grab a cup of coffee and a ham and Swiss croissant. This place is the best in DC! Amazing pastries, nice people, great food, amazing prices! This place is always the highlight of my trip.

Captain Cookie & the Milk Man is a vibrant mobile bakery and dairy bar founded by co-owners Juliann and Kirk Francis. They offer freshly baked cookies made from scratch, creamery milk, and customizable ice cream sandwiches at their George Washington University location and three food trucks. The trucks are equipped with running water, dipping freezers, and bakery ovens to ensure fresh cookie production on the go. With origins dating back to 2012, the business has expanded to include three trucks and five stores.
I recently stopped by Captain Cookie & the Milkman and tried their snickerdoodle cookie. It was so soft and flavorful. It practically melted in my mouth! I can't wait to go back and grab a whole pack of them. The pricing is pretty fair too, at $2.50 per cookie. The location is super convenient. Very close to George Washington University and within walking distance from downtown DC. It's an easy walk, especially on a nice day. 10/10 for me!

Had chocolate chip ice cream sandwich and double chocolate ice cream sandwich. Service was good but lines was long. Guys working were nice. Some sitting area upstairs and additional seating in market. The day we went they were making more chocolate chip cookies so it was a 20 min wait. They were also not making shakes that day. It's a busy location. In walking distance from where we were staying.

The coolest ice cream place I’ve happened across in a while. The general manager was very nice and told us all about the business. Loved learning about the owners and the story. The other employee there was also extremely friendly! Ice cream and cookies were both delicious! Loved the super hero theme!

First time trying this place!! The cookies are stellar, and the ice cream is so savory. Such a perfect combination and perfect place to go for a quick late night snack. The atmosphere was delightful and customer service was next level! His patience, astonishing attitude and knowledge of the menu made me feel reassured about trying something new. On top of that he even introduced me to a root beer float!!! Will definitely try that on my next visit. Whatever you do…you MUST try the snicker doodle cookie. Will be returning soon :)

I had such a great experience at Captain Cookie today! The cashier, Casey, was super friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. she was patient while I decided what to get and even gave me great recommendations. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Dessert Drop-Kick to the Taste Buds! Captain Cookie and the Milkman is hands-down one of DC’s sweetest hidden gems—tucked in Foggy Bottom like a cheat code for happiness. From the moment you walk in, you’re hit with the warm, buttery scent of fresh-baked cookies that feel like a hug from your childhood. I built my own ice cream sandwich with a snickerdoodle and double chocolate chip, and listen… life changed. The cookies were the perfect balance of crispy edges and soft, gooey centers. And the ice cream? Creamy, dreamy, and ridiculously good. It’s the kind of combo that makes you want to high-five the cashier and then do a slow walk of glory out the door. Bonus points for the fun, comic-style branding and super friendly staff. Whether you’re having a rough day or just want a reason to smile, Captain Cookie is that spot. Trust me: get the sandwich. Add the milk. Become the hero of your own dessert story. 🍪🦸🏾‍♂️🥛

Me and my boyfriend ventured here on a whim after our dinner date on 6/28 around 8pm. Unfortunately, the customer service was poor. We were not greeted which usually I don't think much of, but the man at the front was rather cold and looked unhappy. He was not cordial at all as we asked a question and placed our order and frankly he seemed annoyed while helping us. We are very easygoing people so we had done nothing to incite this treatment. We merely walked in, took maybe 5 minutes tops to view the menu, and placed an order. As for the cookies, they didn't impress me. My boyfriend loves all sweets yet he agreed. They weren't bad at all- very possibly just not our tastes? I felt as though for a place concentrating on cookies, they would be better than homemade, but it's hard for me to say they were by much. All in all, others seem to enjoy this spot and I wouldn't deter anybody from giving it a try, but I did want to make note of our poor customer service experience. Edit: Unfortunately, I'm a smidge insulted from the owner's response. The newest reviews up until a month ago when our trip happened indeed included some 1-star reviews, showing not everyone had great experiences. I'm not sure if this is my own perspective but I do not consider one month ago as a "long-ago visit". If you the customer consider it so, then you may take my review with a grain of salt. I write my reviews in batches, but I validate the request on the owner's part to have preferred to hear about our experience sooner. Yet, I didn't appreciate the indirect request "we think your review is outdated so take it down please", but I do appreciate the wanting to make it right. I've got some mixed feelings here.

Bakery
Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe is a warm and inviting German bakery and cafe that has been serving up delicious cookies, cakes, pastries, and sandwiches since 1975. Founded by Wolfgang Buchler, who hails from the German city of Heidelberg, this beloved bakery offers a wide range of year-round favorites such as apple, banana cream, blueberry, Boston cream pies and more. In addition to their regular offerings, they also have seasonal flavors like Dutch apple and pecan pies.
Update 26 January 2025: still an amazing bakery. Great options for Valentine's treats as well. Be aware they are super busy on Sunday mornings because they close earlier that day...1pm. Thanks for the tasty pastries! The Heidelberg bakery is everything you could want for German themed desserts and pantry items. This place gets really busy, so be prepared to walk in, grab a ticket, and enjoy looking around or finalizing your shopping list while you wait for your number to be called. Be ready to go when you number is called though because the team at Heidelberg is very efficient, while also being friendly; so do your part by being ready to state the items desired for your order. The desserts I tried were all good. I think my favorite was their éclair, but their cakes with fruit are delicious too. Limited parking is available at the lot in front of the shop and additional parking is available in a lot walking distance down the street. I would definitely come back. Thanks!

Everything here is delicious! We frequent Heidelberg for weekend treats so it was no question this is where we’d order our wedding cake. They set up a formal tasting that exceeded my expectations. We went in thinking we’d just have a 1-tiered small cake for the purposes of photos, but were convinced to get a full 3-tiered wedding cake and we do not regret it! The cake was delivered on time and safely and it looked absolutely gorgeous. Even better in person.

Easy to located. Minimal parking. Greatest section of pastries and sausages around. Fresh sandwiches are delicious. Marzipan treats are tasty. Good hot coffee too. Attentive, professional, friendly and plentiful employees eagerly wait to serve. I'm 45 minutes away so I dont get here often, but when I do, it's always a treat for the whole family!

Have been a fairly regular customer over last 10 years. Pastries, cakes, breads and nice variety of deli items tasty. Prices have gone up as mish as 20% on some items over the last few years. Customer service in bakery very good most days, even on busy weekends however for a recent large catering order, items (trays of soft pretzels and dozens of dinner rolls) brought out to car without and plastic covering! Had to request these bakery items be covered....not very sanitary to say the least

I can't say enough about how good this place is! Excellent pastries, cakes, bread, cookies... the list could go on forever( P.S. the cheese sticks are the best!!). Staff is super friendly and always wanting to help can you find exactly what you're looking for. I've been coming here for at least 20 years and now my kids come here. Just awesome.

My husband and I have loved Heidelberg for years, it’s our go-to spot. So we immediately knew we wanted Heidelberg to make our wedding cake when we got engaged! Cake tasting was so fun — the wedding cake coordinator recommended some traditional ones and a unique one. I gave her an inspo photo, and next thing I know, that exact cake was at our reception. It was absolutely beautiful and so tasty. We plan to order a mini version each year for our anniversary.

LOVE this German bakery. I gladly drive over 30 minutes to visit here a few times a gear. You HAVE to try the beer cheese dip and fresh pretzels. Their sandwiches are also great. My only suggestion is that they update their decor. It's very 1990s and could use some major updates.

Nestled in the heart of Georgetown, Washington DC, Dog Tag Bakery is more than just a place to indulge in delectable baked goods. This non-profit establishment serves as a supportive space for veterans through its fellowship program. The bakery offers an array of freshly baked treats such as breads, cookies, and cakes while also providing employment and educational opportunities for wounded veterans.
At little pricey, but standard for Georgetown and it’s nice to know that you’re helping a good cause! It has a nice environment, lots of space to sit, delicious pastries and great customer service! Overall, really impressed and will definitely be back!

One of those hidden gems in Georgetown. Great place to sit and relax with a drink and a snack. Clean, quiet and plenty of seating. Great food too. The spicy hot chocolate cookie is spicy but not overly so..just enough to add a little bit of heat. Their brownies are rich and delicious (and they're already cut in half so you can share with a friend). Friendly staff too.

Cute little bakery, right off of Wisconsin Avenue. Very good selection of baked goods, sandwiches, and beverages. Honey rosemary biscuit is to die for! Highly recommend if you are in the area.

My thoughts are mixed , I ordered red velvet cake which was really bad. All I tasted was dye & super dry cake & the frosting in the middle layers was almost like a sour taste I dont know what or why this cake was so horrible but Im extremely disappointed however the chocolate covered brownie was a 9/10 it was very delicious & fresh. I also ordered the cinnamon bun which was out of stock which I didn’t realize that until I rec my order from doordash...So that was a big disappointment as well.

Love this non-profit bakery and their mission. Stop by for baked goods and coffee in the morning and know you’re supporting a good cause. Some evenings Dog Tag hosts open mic comedy and story-telling events in partnership with Armed Services Arts Partnership, another awesome veteran and family focused community non-profit that provides free arts and comedy classes! Give this place a try on your next visit to Georgetown. P.S., the house blend coffee is a solid performer.

Delightful little bakery with cute vibes and a phenomenal selection of treats. I first fell in love with the Georgetown location of Bakeshop for its variety of vegan and gluten-free items, and the Clarendon spot is no different. They offer a ton of standard, vegan, or gluten-free cookies, cupcakes, and cakes; each one is as delicious as the next. However, if you're in the mood for something savory (and distinctly non-vegan), their breakfast sandwiches are also delightful. I passed the Clarendon Bakeshop location on my way to the metro station on a Friday morning and decided to stop to treat myself to a nice, warm breakfast. I got their everything croissant -- which is perfectly flaky and comes studded with plenty of everything bagel seasoning -- and added a scrambled egg and slice of cheese. The egg was perfectly soft and fluffy, and the melted cheese helped to bind the whole thing together. You usually have to wait for a few minutes for the breakfast sandwiches, but the space is nice and cozy, and it's a good opportunity to peruse their pastry selections.

Bakeshop is such a fun and cozy spot! The desserts are always fresh, creative, and absolutely delicious — you can taste the quality in every bite. The cookies and cupcakes are especially amazing! The atmosphere and service were great! Also nestled in a cute part of town. I think I would have loved if this place had a bathroom. There are so many drink options and you have the ability to sit-in and enjoy your treats/ drink, but without a bathroom, it’s difficult to give this place a 5 star review. I also wish the gf items would have been clearly separated like the vegan ones were. I felt like I had to struggle to find the items they had since it didn’t match the menu online. But super grateful they had something gf to offer. I’d love a gf biscuit/ scone to add to what you already offer + more macron flavors.

I’ve been a loyal Bakeshop customer for years as I love their banana pudding and breakfast sandwiches. When it was time to choose a cake for our wedding, I looked into the fancy wedding cake bakeries and the economical grocery store sheet cake options. But in my heart, I knew I wanted a Bakeshop cake. The 8 in 3 layer Neapolitan cake was so delicious and picturesque as our cutting cake. Our guests also enjoyed the chocolate cake and carrot cake. We got so many compliments on how amazing our cakes were all night. We love you, Bakeshop!

The place was neat and looks cozy. They have only indoor sittings and mostly people stop-by for takeout than dining in. Staff were eager to help and really help to provide recommendations for your likings. We had their ice cream which is the cookie vanilla sandwich and the Macaron Red Velvet ice cream. For sweet tooth go for the cookies for the mid sweet, go for the macaron. The combination was so good! We will surely go back to this place!

The Dough Jar is a delightful destination for cookie dough enthusiasts, nestled in the charming Georgetown area. While some may find the prices on the higher side, it's important to consider the prime location and the beautifully designed glass jars that can be reused. The rich flavors of their cookie dough make every bite worthwhile, ensuring you get more than you expect from each portion. This spot has quickly become a family favorite, especially for kids' birthday parties—many locals stock up to keep fresh treats at home!
What can I say, a variety of cookie dough flavors and optional toppings?! Serving size even for a small cup can feed two people. Great staff and a vibrant decor. Would definitely come back for more when we’re in the Georgetown area. :)
Michael P — Google review
$40??? Certainly I expected ordering cookies from a specialty shop would be more expensive. However, I could not have been more disappointed. The cookies looked like they were made by middle schoolers and decorated by little kids. There was nothing special about the flavors, size (so small!), or the textures(not to mention the presentation!) that would have justified $4.00 per cookie. Not only will I never order from them again, I will also continue to make sure I caution others about how taken advantage of I feel receiving such a terrible product. Cannot imagine they will stay in business long. Picture included. So bad.
Blaine P — Google review
Great edible cookie dough! Overpriced, but to be fair they are located in Georgetown, and the jars are in a nice glass container you can re-use. Can’t expect them to be able profit and also pay off rent if they lowered their prices! At first I freaked because I thought the portion was tiny, but you realize you get more out of it when you taste the richness of the dough. I can definitely see this place thriving in a few years, and Georgetown is the perfect place to have it

Visited the first week they opened while on Holiday in DC. Store further down from most the other store in the georgetown area but once you get there it is amazing. Many different cookie doughs and they also have a vegan cookie dough for those who would prefer that. You can add ice cream, sprinkles, cream and more to your order to make the best dessert ever. I absolutely loved it and you will too.

Really enjoyed my dough and ice cream combination tonight! A fluorescent bright coloured dessert outlet on the Georgetown high street. You can order delicious, safe cookie dough that can be paired with a range of other sugary sweets including brownies, cupcakes and toppings. Staff are very friendly and the opening hours are great. Unfortunately I think the dough could be a little cheaper and maybe dial back a little on the options focusing on the best doughie bits.

I live in Seattle, but my daughter lives in DC. This is the closest Whole Foods store to her apartment. I wanted to surprise my daughter on her birthday by buying a bouquet of flowers and Chantilly cake. My daughter’s boyfriend picked them up. The staff, everyone that i talked to were wonderful. I requested the florist and she returned my call. She made a very beautiful bouquet. Just look at it! My daughter enjoyed it so much. She said it smelled so nice. Amazing staff, impressive customer service! If anyone need a bouquet, order it from this Whole Foods! The florist, she knows her stuff. This is a lot better than the bouquet you get from online florist. The Chantilly cake is also very good. Thank you, Whole Foods! Follow-up: may daughter and BF sent me a picture of the bouquet a week from her birthday. The lilies opened and filled the house with lovely smell. It was a huge bouquet. It lasted a long time so the flowers that were used were quite new and fresh. I am just truly thankful that I bought my daughter’s bouquet from this store!

I wanted to share an experience that left me very disappointed. I visited your store while sick and spent over $150 on various remedies and groceries to help me feel better. As I was leaving, two employees physically blocked my way and demanded to check my receipt, stating that they “didn’t see me check out.” I told them I was uncomfortable and asked to leave without being checked, but they insisted and acted as though this was a normal process. They proceeded to go through every item in my bag for several minutes, right in front of other customers. It was embarrassing and completely uncalled for, especially given that I had just completed my purchase properly. There was no apology or acknowledgment afterward. I’ve always been a loyal Whole Foods customer and have never been stopped or treated this way. I was shocked that while others walk out freely, I was singled out and made to feel humiliated for simply shopping. I hope this can be addressed appropriately and that staff are reminded to treat all customers with respect and discretion.

Purchased one of their daily special cupcakes which looked delicious. It was a mint cake with chocolate frosting. The frosting to cake ratio was spot on and the texture of the cake was great, incredibly moist. The biggest disappointment was in the flavors. The frosting had minimal chocolate flavor and I would have never guessed the cake was mint if they hadn't said so.

I pre-ordered a dozen cupcakes for an event—only to have Red Velvet cancel the order 36 hours before the celebration. The explanation given was ‘they couldn’t fulfill the order,’ but it’s hard to understand why a cupcake shop wouldn’t have a dozen cupcakes available, especially when ordered well in advance. Very disappointing since Red Velvet Cupcakery is specifically what the guest of honor requested instead of a traditional cake. PS Also surprised to see significantly fewer flavors on the menu than in years past, when the Chinatown location was still open.

I thought then did a great job either the combinations of flavors. The cupcakes were moist even at the end of day. The frosting was the perfect amount. Too much ruins it. I’d eat here again.

Red Velvet Cupcakes is located within another establishment. Which meant that they were open earlier than 11:30am, which was a good thing but I did not like the fact that it did not smell like cupcakes when I walked in😔. My inner PhatGurl was let down!!!

Left: Caramel Latte Cupcake (dollop of caramel in the center) -- moist but prob wouldn't get it again (too much frosting). Right: S'mores Cupcake -- 😍😍😍. AMAAAAAAZING! I love s'nores so this was right up my alley! Definitely would get this again! Downfall, no place to sit and enjoy...you have to go next door to the neighboring coffee spot but not a lot of seating there either. 😕
A Z — Google review
The cupcakes are very pretty and the texture of both the cake and frosting was good. That said, the flavors were lacking. We got half a dozen. The spice cake was good but beyond that...eh. If they were cheaper I'd be happy to give them 4 stars but alas, as $3+ each, it's just not worth it unless you're really craving cupcakes and don't feel like baking.

Centrolina, located in CityCenterDC, offers a sleek and bright setting where chef and owner Amy Brandwein presents seasonal Italian cuisine. The menu features handmade pastas, with the wood oven being a constant presence. From classic ravioli to squid ink spaghetti with soft shell crab, the pasta dishes are a highlight. Additionally, the restaurant offers excellent wood-grilled fish and pork chops.
100/10 every time I eat here. This trip I say at the bar for so sons drinks and bites - the perfect place to catch up with your girlfriend over delicious food Every bite was perfection. Drinks were on point. We got 3 desserts and licked the plates clean. Highly recommend but go early to guarantee a bar seat or make a reservation to sit at a table.

Located in the heart of city center dc. I didn’t have sticker shock but from what we got for lunch, it certainly doesn’t rise to the level of excellence. If you have lived in Italy, you would not like this place very much. A little pretentious feeling here. We had the yellow tail tuna for appetizers. We had the mushroom pasta, squid ink pasta, and branzino. Everything tasted fine. The branzino was a little bland, but every component with it, tasted good. We had a chocolate cake tart and cookies and cream gelato. A 5% service charge is levied on the diners to supplement the servers‘s wages. I don’t mind tipping over 20% but forcing a service charge seems like the owners are passing the cost of employing good servers to the consumers.
Mark B — Google review
We might not dress like it, but my partner and I love to splurge on fine dining. We received hands down, the best service we have received at any restaurant in a very long time, at Centrolina by Ali and staff! This restaurant was recommended by a family member who sometimes works in DC. She said to go here for the unique flavors and she definitely wasn’t wrong. The food was delicious. We will definitely return and we will be requesting Ali as our server!

Great food and very attentive service. The portions were on the smaller side, but everything was really well prepared. Even the delicate pear salad had many complex flavors. It's an upscale place on a shopping street, they have a more casual cafe across the street that I haven't visited.
Javier K — Google review
A 2025 James Beard nominee and for good reason. The Pane consisted of three different types of bread, two of which were fluffy and chewy. The Verde salad had great potential ingredients but we're just not huge fans of salads inspired by Cesar salads. The fettuccine was hand made and you could tell by the al dente nature, savory cream sauce. Service was cordial. The atmosphere on a summer day outside was charming.
Jeff T — Google review
Small portions and higher prices. The food was good, but honestly, it didn’t feel much different from getting fresh ravioli from the grocery store’s refrigerated section. Service was friendly, though there’s a 5% surcharge that isn’t a tip but is said to help subsidize staff wages. Our waiter seemed a bit annoyed when we left a 15% tip because of that, which was disappointing.
R — Google review
We went for lunch. My pasta was too salty. Extremely disappointing considering the price and what I thought would be a delicious experience by a James Beard nominee. Never coming back to this establishment.

Teaism Dupont Circle, established in 1996 by Michelle Brown and Linda Neuman, aims to cultivate a deeper appreciation for the diversity of delicate tea leaves. The teahouse offers an extensive drink menu featuring fragrant black, white, green, oolong, chai and tisane blends. Additionally, it serves Asian-inspired cuisine such as bento boxes with grilled salmon and Korean brisket sandwiches.
This restaurant offers diverse cuisine, including Korean, Japanese, Indian, and Thai foods. All were great! I saw someone complained that salmon had no flavor. You should dip it in brown sauce together with kale under salmon.

This was a unique restaurant we found by accident whilst exploring embassy row in downtown D.C. It was awesome. It had a great selection of teas (as its name suggests) and a fantastic menu of Japanese inspired cuisine. The energy was also great and the staff were friendly and accommodating. My partner and I liked it so much after our first visit that we went back the next day for dinner. This was a great find, and I 100% recommend you visit it if ever in D.C.

I stumbled across this place. Its in a nice neighborhood. Its super cute and authentic. They have a lot of variety of teas, pastries, and hot food which looked delicious. I decided to get a black Boba tea and the vegan ginger scones. They were baked fresh straight out of the oven and very amazing! I have had an obsession with scones lately. I thoroughly enjoyed them with the jam! My iced Boba was fine, not too sweet at all. I would definitely come back. They played smooth jazz the whole time! This place is such a vibe. It feels very cultural and authentic and very relaxing.

Amazing food we got the rice and tea and the glass noodles. Everything was a really nice portion for a large lunch for one person or a nice snack for two. They have a good tea selection I would recommend branching out from the sweet macha (though it is tasty) I am vegan and it is 110% vegan approved!

Such a gem of a spot. Love how cozy the upstairs area is. The croissant I got around lunch was sort of stale, maybe pastries are better in the morning. The ginger limeade was so so good though! A refreshing drink for when it’s hot outside.

The rice for the thai curry was dry and the curry was a bit too salty for me. The soup part of the udon was not flavorful.

Was gifted the Matcha Sweet Green Tea, Rosy Cacao Rooibos, and Steeping Mushroom Chai from this location -- all three were beyond expectations, especially the Steeping Mushroom Chai (easily my new fav) which is perfectly balanced between peppery/floral. I love that I can add the Matcha Sweet Green Tea directly to some steamed milk and have a perfect matcha latte with zero effort. You can really taste that they're honest about having no artificial sweeteners or oils, which is huge as someone with those sensitivities. Huge thanks to the manager Lela, who acknowledged a small mix up in the order and had the resolution in the mail the same day. I couldn't have asked for better customer service, and will definitely be a repeat customer.

I com here often for lunch with my partner and we love it! We are vegetarians and usually order the black bean bento box and the veggie okonomiyaki. It’s so full of flavor and plenty of food for two! We always wonder if we should try other things because all the other food we see in the other tables always look great, but we like these two too much to change, maybe next time! The teas are also great!

Restaurant
Bread Furst is a bustling bakery located in Van Ness, offering a wide variety of gourmet bread, pastries, cakes, and coffee. The team of seven bakers at this five-year-old establishment churns out an array of dark and crusty loaves including corn rye, multigrain, walnut raisin, rye teff, brioche, baguettes and more.
In all honesty, the chocolate cookies are ok. What makes this reviews five stars is the almond croissant. It was absolutely phenomenal. The croissant was flaky and buttery, and there was a plenty of almond frangipane inside. Also, the Cookie Roberts (shortbread with pecans) is very, very good. A lot of other good-looking baked goods and breads as well. We’ve also enjoyed pies from there before, and they were very good (got blueberry and peach). Great location and friendly service to go with their gourmet market, and you’ve got yourself a neighborhood favorite.
Steve C — Google review
Group of friends got lunch here and sat at the outside tables on a glorious weekday. Apparently the fresh loaves of bread are fabulous but lunch is mediocre. My premade beet salad with walnuts and gorgonzola and lots of fresh greens was tasty but the oatmeal cherry cookie was poor: overcooked and dry, zero taste of cherry and way too salty. A friend with the ham and cheese baguette said the baguette was fabulous but the meager portion of ham and cheese left him feeling as if he was just eating bread. Others who had gotten the bagel and lox were not impressed with the bagel nor the lox nor the other items on the bagel such as the mildly pickled red onion slice.
Carolyn F — Google review
Don’t order the runny egg unless you know you like a barely cooked scrambled egg that’s pooling in liquid. The English muffin or bagel gets drenched and soggy. And I like my scrambled eggs not fully cooked, but this is another level. We mentioned how both my wife and I couldn’t eat it to two of the staff and they were like “yeah, it’s called a messy egg, duh.” It’s even worse with the cheese - too salty. And the mashed avocado isn’t good either. Nor is the homemade lox. And the Counter Culture coffee isn’t amazing either. I don’t often write reviews like this, it’s just my 5th time giving these sandwiches a chance because I love this neighborhood gem and hold out hope I might like their breakfast as a treat once in a while. I love the retail options (though expensive) and the baked goods are great, which is why I gave 4 stars. And it’s expensive. And want to warn people away from the messy egg unless you know it’s your thing!
Kathleen B — Google review
My uncle picked up plain and chocolate croissants for me to try. Place was crowed and outdoor seating is limited. Most disappointed that my croissants were on the burnt side. For a popular bakery I was not happy. From what I can tell seems like a very good quality set of ingredients, but to over bake pastries is just unacceptable. Chocolate chip Cookies were good and chewy. They offer wide variety of baked goods to try.
A H — Google review
Got the Ube Matcha which was very good, but it is on the sweeter side if you like that. I got a bagel with eggs and cheddar and the eggs were literally liquid. Couldn’t finish it because I felt I was eating raw eggs and definitely not my style. The bagel itself was good and the people working there were nice

Bread Furst is a true DC gem on Connecticut Avenue. The quality of everything—from the flaky pastries to the savory prepared foods—is exceptional. My favorites are the canelés and baguettes, which are on par with the best boulangeries in France. They also carry an excellent selection of European wines and gourmet delicacies that transport you straight to a market in Paris. Prices are definitely on the higher side, so it’s more of a Sunday indulgence than a daily stop—but always worth it.
Aari L — Google review
A dry and pre-made sandwich can be yours for $15! You won’t know that when ordering though- prices are hidden for everything. Looking for mayo/pickles/onions? Good luck - no add-ons available! The good news is the service - the cashiers seem to be wise to the fact that this place is a complete tourist trap, if only I had done more research beforehand. Definitely skip!

Shouk is a stylish, fast-casual eatery located in a small brick building with a commitment to serving exclusively vegan Middle Eastern-inspired dishes. The menu is influenced by the flavors of Israel and Palestine and features a variety of sandwiches, dips, salads, and snacks. Customers rave about the roasted cauliflower dish and the selection of pita and dips, including hummus, beet hummus, and cashew labneh.
My boyfriend and I visited this place while in town for the weekend from RTP, and hands down, it’s the best pita and falafel spot we’ve ever had! Ordering was a breeze with their self-serve iPads, and we were able to seat ourselves right away. We both got falafel pitas, and they were packed with flavor and generously filled with crispy, delicious falafels. The vegetables were perfectly cooked, adding great texture to each bite. The spicy fries were incredibly crispy and stayed that way—never getting flat or soggy. One of the coolest touches was how the pitas were served in a mini box with a built-in pierce feature, making them super easy to eat. We’re so sad this spot is only in DC and Maryland because it would absolutely thrive in NC. Honestly, we’d make the trip back just for the food. Easily a 11/10 experience!

The entire menu seems delicious and I can’t wait to go back. We got a couple of different things off the menu and loved every single thing. The produce was all fresh and crisp, the flavors balanced each other well, and everything was cooked perfectly. The staff were very friendly and quick with getting everything out. They have a nice indoor seating area, the AC just seems to struggle a bit so it might get a bit hot for you.

Wow! Shouk was incredible 😋 Everything that we tried was absolutely on point 👉 The Falafel was crispy yet soft and delicious inside. The Schwarma was filled with perfectly seasoned mushrooms 🍄 The sauces that we tried were quite good as well. This is our new favorite Vegan spot in DC. Well done ladies of Shouk!

Wanting to visit the Old Post office Clock tower , we decided to stop by lunch at this shouk location Washington DC. Having tried Falafel and Shawarma bowls we wanted to try the sandwiches this time. We Picked fried Shouk'n and Shouk Burger. Fried Shouk 'n - Oyster mushroom schnitzel was more appetizing visually but little oily as the mushroom soaks oil but I was expecting it. Didn't taste bad though . The Shouk burger was HEAVY , it was huge heavy patty made form various lentils and was very filling. We even got the Malabi dessert which was a pretty bland , NOT SWEET, pudding . It was like eating creamy pan yogurt with a flan texture. Definitely wont order again . Overall its cool place and good food .

Fresh food at reasonable prices. We enjoyed our shwarma bowl and felafel bowl. Liked the just-spicy-enough jalapeno-cusbara dressing. Clean place with fun street market stall atmosphere. Has indoor and outdoor seating. Wheelchair accessible.

I love Shouk! This is my go-to spot whenever I travel to DC. My goal is to try everything on their menu, but it is hard because everything I've had has been spectacular! Everything is fresh, vibrant, and flavorful. The fried mushrooms are nicely seasoned, and the fries are one of a kind. The sauce flavor profile is unique and has you craving more.

District Doughnut is a charming bakery known for its wide variety of classic and unique gourmet yeast donuts. They offer both yeast and cake donuts, with their creme brulee being particularly popular. Customers love the seasonal flavors that keep things interesting, and they now offer sufganyiot outside of Chanukah. However, some have noted that the service can be slow and flavors may sell out throughout the day.
If you're a donut aficionado or fan of the tasty treat District Donuts is a must stop. Their staple brown butter donut is very tasty and a terrific take on the traditional donut style. However if you prefer the sweeter side of things as I do their creme brulee donut is out of this world.
Peter S — Google review
Service was great and the staff was friendly. The donuts themselves are overrated and more like a cake donut, much like you would get at dunkin donuts or the supermarket. I think for the price ($23 for half dozen),you would get a better tasting donut. The store was clean and well maintained from what I could tell. It's not a bad experience, just not my style of donut.
Daniel M — Google review
Donuts were YUM. They were kinda pricey with over $25 for a half dozen but we all loved it. Vanilla bean Crème brûlée was delicious as it was warm and perfectly crusted with the sugar. I did not personally try, but my group loved the Samoa donut. Quick & nice service with window seating.

Ordered these and they were awful. I used to love them and over the years the quality has went down the drain. I usually don’t do reviews but this is the 3rd time I’ve got cold doughy donuts after spending over $40 on less than a dozen donuts don’t waste your money. Do not recommend!!!

On my way to the office, I passed by District Donut and thought it looked like a neat shop. Popped in and saw their offerings of the day. The worker was very friendly and even kept her cool when the customer before me got her undies in a bunch cause they didn't accept apple pay. Kudos to the worker. I decided to try the sweet potato pie donut since it was unique. It looked great, but after the first bite I was sorely disappointed that I spent almost $5 for it. For lack of a better description it was chewy or doughy. It didn't have that nice flaky melt in your mouth goodness that I've had at other shops. The sweet potato filling was okay. Sweeter than I would have liked. Maybe it was an off day, I chose the wrong flavor to try, or their donuts aren't my jam. YMMV

Amazing donuts! Try the seasonal specials like the Key Lime for something totally different than your standard donut shop. And the coffee from Zeke's is strong!

We’ve been going here since they first opened and just had Dulce de Leche and Brown Butter doughnuts as standard. Love the seasonal flavors to keep things fun and interesting. LOVE that the sufganyiot are now available outside of Chanukah. The only downside is that when we got them in February, they were dry and definitely not as good as when they were a special item. Service is usually slow despite and they sell out of flavors throughout the day. So get there early for best selection.

Please do not order online. I ordered a dozen cupcakes online and paid in advance days before an event. When I went to pick up my order for the event, they didn't have it ready and most of the cupcakes I ordered online (placing the flavors in the note section as instructed) were not available. I had to select other options that we didn't like as a refund wasn't available and I was pressed for time. They need to update their online ordering options and at least contact people if the online order is not available, especially if they are processing your payment. I love to support small businesses but this was not a great experience. I recommend calling if you need to place a large order to get clarification on flavors available etc. Also if you are vegan, you are not able to order cupcakes individually, although it is an option online, you can only get this option by the dozen.

I went to this establishment today. The young lady at the register was very friendly and accommodating. I ordered the butterscotch and the white chocolate cupcake originally but Unfortunately, they did not have the butterscotch so I decided to get the double chocolate. When I tried the white chocolate raspberry cupcake, it was lacking flavor. The only thing that stood out was the fruit inside of the cupcake. I hope that the reviews about the shop is taken into consideration by the owner in order to improve In certain areas, but other than that I will still support the small business.

The desserts are pretty good although some of the items could be more flavorful and prepared better. The scones were awful-they didn't have much of a flavor and were so dry! Water couldn't even quench my thirst! The cupcakes were really good especially the champagne and the chocolate ones. The service was pretty lack luster. Nothing special and seemed somewhat detached. I'm not sure if i would return but it was a relatively nice visit that satisfied my sweet tooth. (The cassava is overtly devastatingly sweet)

Always love to support Black owned/run businesses, but for the confections to be award winning, I was a bit disappointed. The shop is located on a cute street in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, but be aware - there’s no place in the shop to sit to enjoy your treat.

I was just curious to try these cupcakes because their texture and design look so yummy! I picked up a chocolate/vanilla which didn’t feel very fresh, maybe It’s because I got there right before closing and the cake was sitting there for long but it tasted like it was there all day! On the other side, the piña colada was so soft and yummy; I regret not taking 2 of this! I think price is fair for the amount!

The place may not look the best from the outside, but it's what's inside that counts! Top-notch product that will be my new go-to now that Ladure in Union Station is unavailable. The shop's interior exudes modern maritime sensibility with white painted brick, Edison bulb light fixtures, and cute private rooms with floral themes for hosting events. The menu features European-inspired dishes like chickpea ravioli and Galician-style octopus carpaccio.
Delicious macarons! I love the delicate cherry blossom design painted on them—such a beautiful touch. Since we missed the cherry blossoms in full bloom, I picked up a few small packages to share with friends and family back home. A sweet and thoughtful treat to bring back a little taste of spring!

It was underwhelming at best. The flavors are delicious and as expected but the true macaron texture…. A big swing and a big miss. The location itself is adorable. Great service, good character all around. Product itself — macaron… not so much. All 8 pieces I purchased today were very dry and unnecessarily crumbly. The scent and flavor were on point for each but… what is up with this dry eggshell consistency?! Felt like biting into expensive cardboard at a couple of points getting thru the box. It was soooooo disappointing.

Cute little shop! Very nicely and colorfully decorated the day we were there. With a large variety of Macarons of different flavors and colors they have choices for every possible taste. Nice quality and service. The price was rather high but if you like macarons you know the price is always high for macarons. With just a couple of small tables there no good siting available. Rise Bakery is a charming townhouse bakery located on the second floor, known for its dedication to providing an extensive menu of gluten-free options without compromising on taste or texture. Established in 2014 by Mike Koritko, who was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, this local institution offers a wide array of gluten-free and vegan treats such as cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, croissants, sandwiches, and pizzas.
I had heard good things about Rise Bakery from my neighbors and I wanted to try it. I ordered for delivery the Gluten Free Everything Inside Bagels, the vegan cream cheese and Gluten Free carrot cupcakes. The bagels are absolutely the best I have tasted. The vegan cream cheese is tasty and has the consistency of cream cheese. You don’t need to use a lot to enjoy its good taste. The carrot cupcakes are moist and not too sweet. I absolutely enjoyed all that I bought and I am thrilled about this bakery.

Got the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich, with a chocolate croissant. On the spectrum of gf options that exist, it was average. Bagel was a little hard and the croissant was more of a biscuit, not enough chocolate. $12 for the sandwich, $6 for the croissant. Some things I’d recommend changing: adding more chocolate or some kind of sauce to the croissant so it’s not so dry. Also warming it up and melting it would make it taste better. The bagel was hard so I’d recommend adding more cheese or butter to soften. It was supposed to be an everything bagel but I didn’t taste that, so maybe more of the seasoning as well.

Got an everything bagel, sliced and toasted with cream cheese. Great chewy texture, great flavor, I’ve missed bagels for years and this finally hit the spot!! Not usual upholstery foam texture I’ve become accustomed to with gluten free bagels.

Can’t comment on service and atmosphere because I ordered to my house but the gluten free options are SO GOOD. I also tried a breakfast sandwich and lunch sandwich. Both very good.
Magan K — Google review
Stopped here with my husband while in D.C. ordered two breakfast biscuit sandwiches and they were AMAZING! He doesn’t have to eat gluten free and even he loved it! I had to hold back because I wanted one everything! The 2 women working were so sweet and patient as this was our first time.

Gluten free cinnamon roll was absolutely excellent. Bacon egg and cheese also super moist and delicious. Almost tasted like a Chik Fil A biscuit. Tastes very expensive without the expensive price tag. Would absolutely come back anytime I’m in DC.

The food wasn’t good. The cupcakes are so grainy and inedible, I threw them out after one bite. The cookies are hard as a rock. The pumpkin cheesecake was decent though. I wouldn’t recommend for someone who has to eat GF because it was a major disappointment compared to what you can find at Trader Joe’s.

Indian restaurant
Halal restaurant
Health food store
Rasa is a trendy eatery in the Capitol Riverfront area, offering custom bowls of rich Indian cuisine alongside a selection of beverages. The restaurant's vibrant ambiance and diverse menu options make for an enjoyable dining experience. Customers can either craft their own bowl from locally sourced ingredients or opt for one of Rasa's creatively named signature dishes. The fusion of Indian flavors and cultural influences is evident in the delicious sauces, proteins, veggies, and bases offered.
Default helped me put today. His customer service is the best I have had in a while. He even introduced me to two new sauces for my bowl. I will for sure be back to get lunch here again. Very good food and service. THANKS Dejaun!!
Byron S — Google review
So, I stumbled on Rasa randomly as I was trying to decide on what my taste buds desired as I walked from the Wharf to the Navy Yard. While walking past and eventually into Rasa, I immediately noticed that they were a cute, casual spot, that served Indian food. Needless to say I was sold. Rasa gives Chipotle/CAVA/Bindaas vibes (affordable food with decently healthy options). Additionally, the workers here were patient with honest recommendations, which I greatly appreciated. Prior to making such a hard decision lol, I sampled the chicken to help solidify my choice. The chicken by itself was flavored very well, which led me to get the Tikka Chance on Me Bowl. The bowl itself was great, portion wise, however there were some sauces and ingredients within the bowl that reduced the impact-fulness of that wonderfully flavored chicken. Due that, the bowl was just average to me. Overall, I had a good experience and will be open to trying something different at Rasa that amplifies the flavors of their chicken.
Sher N — Google review
I have been coming regularly, the best way to explain it is that it’s like a chipotle for Indian food, my favorite is the Shrimp bowl but they got rid of my second favorite which is the Goan style beef. However, lately they have introduced new chicken dishes like spicy chicken, butter chicken and new sides like chick peas which revamped their menu. The bowls are great, they have a protein and then sides and sauces which make a great combination, they also offer vegetarian options. I also likr their ice creams and mixed non alcoholic drinks. Service is quick, food quality is almost always good, and the staff are nice. The restaurant has some tables and nice decorations, I especially like the string art snd chotckes placed inside wooden boxes on the wall. But the best decorations by far is the 3 swings which I definitely love to sit and swing myself on!!!
Vum M — Google review
Went it with expectations after seeing overall positive reviews of Rasa all around DC. Unfortunately I was not impressed by the food. It was bland despite the ample ingredients added to the bowl. Food quality was a disappointment. The staff was friendly and welcoming, ready to help. Atmosphere vibes with the egg chairs hanging from the ceiling were cute. Lots of places to sit and I was surprised for a Saturday it was empty. I wouldn’t recommend adding this to your bucket place or somewhere to visit if you enjoy tasty food because this didn’t strike a chord for me.
Leah R — Google review
RASA is an interesting experience. I generally stick to the curries, usually chicken Tikka Masala or butter chicken. The food itself is generally flavorful and cooked appropriately, although it's all just a bag of chicken that they ladel onto your tray and then cover with the appropriate curry. Sometimes you get the end of a batch and it's not very good, either cold or gristly. I always get a side of naan that's just okay. If you order ahead it's 50/50 as to whether it will be done within the give window; a lot of times I show up and they ask me what I'm picking up and then they make the order right there. I guess that makes it more fresh, but seems to defeat the purpose of ordering ahead. The interior is cool and they serve a variety of drinks.

This was our first time at RASA, and we had such a great experience! Dejuan helped us through the whole process — he was super friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. He gave great suggestions on what to try and even let us sample a few things before adding them to our bowls. Everything turned out delicious, and his service really made our first visit memorable. We’ll definitely be back!

Dejuan was pleasant, attentive and friendly. It was my second time trying RASA and he ensured I’d enjoy my lunch. Gave me a sample of the chicken options and was patient while I decided what I wanted to try. Shop was quiet. Dejuan did a great job. Everything was great except the spinach. Too mushy and didn’t enjoy the flavor.

Located in a charming area of Washington D.C., ThreeFifty Bakery and Cafe offers delicious baked goods and espresso drinks alongside a lovely patio. The bakery is very popular with locals, particularly for its biscotti, cookies, and pound cake - but the cafe portion of the business is just as impressive with its great coffee and array of snacks. All in all, it's an excellent choice whether you're in the area for lunch or just looking for a sweet treat.
The place has adequate seating on a Saturday morning. The scones were moist. The coffee was good with a medium roast. Was worth the walk from the Metro station.

Quiche was tasty, scone was tasty. There are plenty out outside seats that were covered with umbrellas. The coffee was delicious. Inside the shop there were friendly people and it was clean inside and outside.

This cafe tucked in the corner of a block is relaxing and is a great place to relax. Definitely a sit, chat, and read cafe. I had the spinach feta quiche (delicious!), an american style orange scone (crumbly and subtly sweet but missing something), and a large chai latte (sweet with an interesting aftertaste but perfect for my sore throat). The bathrooms are clean, and there is a variety of seating offered. The service is craaazy fast, and on a beautiful day like today people watching is so enjoyable.

Was in the neighborhood and needed a quick pick me up — ThreeFifty fit the bill! Quick service and clear menu. For an iced coffee that was pretty affordable ( <$3) and blueberry scone. Coffee was fresh, tasty and refreshing. Scone was appropriately dry and crumbly and tasty as well though FF a little pricey at almost $4. Would return again though!

Matcha latte was not too sweet which is how I personally like it, service was super fast even though it was a weekend, lemon and blueberry pound cake was definitely indulgent. Will definitely try more of their baked goods

One of my fav tire coffee places in dc. Pastries are always fresh and the quiches are awesome. Personal size quiches, ready to go. I always get the bacon cheddar, but they have a variety of options. I feel like I’ve eaten something after ordering food here, whereas some places the food feels more like a snack than a meal. Coffee always tastes fresh. Never burned or as if it’s sat out.

Piccolina da Centrolina is a fresh and contemporary Italian osteria located in CityCenterDC's Palmer Alley. It is the latest project by Chef Amy Brandwein, offering an all-day menu featuring wood-fired dishes that complement the regional cuisine served at its upscale companion, Centrolina.
3 of us went here one evening around 7:30pm for a hankering of chocolate and coffee. We walked in and was welcomed with the beautiful pink esthetic. The food on the tables for other guests looked amazing, including the pizza. We ordered 3 coffees, my favorite bring the cortado. We also had a canolli made fresh with the flavors we desired. I had a warm chocolate chip cookie that was perfectly cooked with a heavy and delicious amount of chocolate chips. Sooooo Good!! We will be back the next time we are visiting DC.

Delicious little Italian eatery in the well known Palmer Alley. We were there for the signature Italian pastries, which were all great! Really well made and delicious. We were there with the Underground Donut Tour DC, and our guide had eaten there at other times and said everything they had was great.

The food options were really good and everything tasted good. Nothing was exceptional but also nothing was bad. We tried the panini and a couple sourdough toasts and they all tasted good. The cannoli was good too.

Piccolina da Centrolina is a charming spot that feels like a slice of Europe tucked away in the city. The outdoor seating creates a cozy, relaxed atmosphere that’s perfect for brunch or lunch. We tried the salmon skewers and a panini, both of which were fresh and flavorful. The salad that came with the panini was crisp and colorful, adding to the meal’s appeal. A highlight here is the cannoli bar—where they freshly fill the shells upon ordering—making for the perfect sweet ending. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared, and the casual yet sophisticated vibe made it a lovely place to spend a slow afternoon. Definitely a spot I’d come back to!

Mah-Ze-Dahr Bakery is a stylish and well-maintained establishment with a somewhat high price point. The bakery offers around ten tables for indoor and outdoor seating, and the staff, while generally friendly, may come off as slightly aloof. The coffee menu is conveniently displayed on a screen, but the pastry options are not as readily visible before ordering. Despite this, the coffee is of high quality.
I had the prettiest and tastiest pain au chocolat at this place. 😊 Great morning vibes and I was there early enough that it wasn't crowded. I do also notice that some customers picking up their orders block the bike lane with their cars, that not much to do with the cafe, more on the city to enforce.
Joi W — Google review
This place used to be good when it was new. Service has gone downhill over the last few months and just has different feel now with newer staff who don't really brighten my morning with their blah energy. I still stop by here to pick up either a croissant or a donut + cappuccino, with no expectation to be wowed. But if time allows I'll go elsewhere.
Nola — Google review
A great, casual, local cafe and bakery with amazing pastries. We keep trying new things on the menu every time we go and everything so far has been delicious. There are good savoury and sweet options such as the smoked salmon croissant and the brioche donut. You can also grab whole cakes and small gifts if you’re entertaining at home. The staff have always been friendly and helpful whenever we have been there. The cafe has a laidback atmosphere - I often see people working or catching up in there.
Haj A — Google review
Ambience 5/5 Staff friendliness 4/5 Cost 2/5 very pricy Portion sizes 4/5 Efficiency 2/5 I had excellent espresso here and perfectly steamed milk for a vanilla latte. The size of Illinois latte was a little small considering the price I got a breakfast sandwich and a latte. The cost was $18. The flow for pick up of your food items was very confusing. When you order you’re supposed to pick up your drink at the to go counter, but if it’s something quick, they hand it to you over the register if you order food you pick that up right in front of the register unfortunately unless you order a dessert or something box to go then it’s at the pick up window. So they might call your name but your order could be at two different locations and it’s very busy and you have to walk through the line of people to get to the front again so it’s just very congested. The latte was exceptional and you can tell the syrups are made from scratch. However, the breakfast sandwich was very satisfying, but the texture was a little off for the biscuit. If you’re going to do a thick, large biscuit, that’s not flaky, it should be pretty crumbly. This was a little dense and a tiny bit dry on top. I would probably stop here again. If I had a very slow morning, I would not stop here if I was in a hurry for a full breakfast.

I like to come here to study or work on my laptop ✨ it's not a spacious coffee shop but pretty clean and bright. I usually take the window seats👍🏼 Have been here several times, and the below was what I tried before: The portion of quiche was generous and it tasted really creamy I like it 🥺 Banana bread and chocolate tea bread were not too sweet 💓 (this is a big praise of mine for desserts hahah) Coffee or other tea beverages are all enjoyable!

This place used to be my go to for the sweet tooth fix. My favorite item is the almond chocolate croissant. I was coming regularly (probably weekly at minimum) for this item until I had a burnt, way overcooked one. It's been a few months and I tried it again. Just as bad. A croissant shouldn't crunch all of the way through and not be so baked that you don't taste the chocolate or almond. I won't be back. I hope they get better.

Nestled in the vibrant Adams Morgan neighborhood, Rose Ave Bakery is a charming hidden gem that offers a delightful selection of classic American treats. The bakery's new location across from the Woodley Park metro station provides better accessibility and extended hours. Visitors can expect a variety of inventive and delicious Asian-American sweet and savory treats, such as passion fruit donuts, spam musubi croissants, matcha chocolate cookies, and mochi puffs.
This bakery offers a fast and friendly service. Their donuts are the best in DC. Unlike other donuts that are sweet and greasy, these are soft and chewy on the inside. I can tell they are freshly made because the bakery is filled with a delightful aroma of freshly baked goods. The sweet donuts remind me of my Taiwanese hometown, so I always order them. It’s not common to find Asian-infused donuts, so I highly recommend this place. Besides donuts, I also recommend their garlic scallion bun, which is similar to Taiwanese scallion pancakes. They also have high-quality coffee beans that they freshly grind for each order. The ube latte is a must-try.

I am so glad I stumbled upon Rose Ave Bakery because their brioche donuts are divine! Since I'm not from the area we had to try the Passion Fruit, Ube, and Pandan Coconut filled donuts. Not only are they visually stunning, but they have the perfect balance of donut to pastry cream. The Pandan Coconut was the fan favorite - flavorful without being too sweet. I hope to one day enjoy more of their Asian-American inspired pastries in the future. If you're in the area, Rose Ave Bakery is a must stop!

The Intern: When I read the reviews I thought that this place was going to blow me away, but in reality it had a smaller selection than most bakeries, and the food was very simple, but trying to be fancy in a way. I’m not a doughnut person and this was a place with a lot of doughnuts, so it wasn’t really my favorite. We got the Strawberry Passion Kouign Amann, Matcha Chocolate Twice Baked Croissant, Sugared Donut, and the Roasted Tomato Sambal Focaccia. The Strawberry Passion was a 7/10, very delicious with a passion fruit filling and a croissant-like texture. The Sugared Donut was very simple, nothing too fancy, just a donut with no filling and sugar on top. The Focaccia was OK, just a little kick of spice. It was a curry bread with tomato sauce. I really liked the decorations and vibe of Rose Ave.

Was recommended this spot. It’s a bakery with a Filipino twist, offering brioche donuts and cake slices similar to other Filipino establishments in the area. We arrived around opening and there was already a line. Service was friendly, and we sat outside. The pastries were fluffy and good, but in my opinion, not quite worth the wait or the price.

Rose Ave Bakery is a super cute and fun spot. You can find street parking right out front or nearby, and I was lucky enough to grab a spot right in front. When I walked in, it wasn't packed at all. I saw they had an ube latte, and I knew I had to try it. I also decided at the last minute to get the scallion, egg and cheese, and I'm so glad I did -- it ended up being my favorite thing. The ube latte was kind of a letdown, honestly. I wished it had more ube flavor and less coffee since the coffee overpowered the ube taste for me. It's a little on the pricey side, but honestly, totally worth it to check out, especially if you opt to get a pastry item!

I’ve heard so many good things about this bakery and it truly lives up to the hype. A favorite for me was the passion fruit donut and the garlic scallion roll. But everything was so delicious! Be prepared to wait in line but they move quite efficiently and quickly. I got the mango matcha and it had really good authentic matcha flavor (rare sometimes in cafes). 10/10 experience!!!

Really good bakery. The selection was good. The quality was good. The food was good. No complaints. We got there at opening on a rainy Saturday and there was a long line but it went quick (10 min). We got the following, with asterisks to indicate what we’d get again: - Pandan Coconut - Passion Fruit - Ensaymada - Saigon Cinnamon Banana Cookie* - Strawberry Passion Kouign Amann* - Strawberry Lychee Rose Donut
Jainif M — Google review
Cute place inside, food looks aesthetic. I got the garlic scallion egg n cheese, thai curry tarty, and a brown sugar latte. The egg n cheese left much to be desired. They do not make it fresh to order and is rather kept under a heat lamp. The egg tasted spongy and microwaved. The pastry was dry. And worst of all, the whole thing was maybe room temperature (hard melted cheese). The thai curry pastry is fine, nothing superb. The latte was good, had a strong coffee taste and was well made. The brown sugar syrup is quite good. Maybe their sweeter items are better, but the savory was severely lacking.

Larry's Cookies and Ice Cream, located near the Ronald Reagan Building, is a must-visit for anyone craving delectable sweet treats in Washington D.C. Indulge in their perfectly baked cookies with soft middles and crispy edges that are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. Pair your cookie with a scoop of their divine mint chip ice cream for the ultimate treat. Visitors rave about the mouthwatering flavors of the cookies, such as the chocolate chip and white chocolate macadamia nut varieties.
This establishment is located inside the Reagan Building Food Court. This is my first time going through security in order to get some ice cream. Our favourite ice cream flavour is the pecan praline. The chocolate chip pecan cookie was thick, soft and full of chocolate and pecan. Fast service, no waiting time. There's paid parking on-site, though the rate is pretty high. Wheelchair accessibility and pram friendly. There are clean toilet facilities and drinking fountains on either side of the food court. You can access the Federal Triangle Metro directly from the building as well.

Tatte Bakery & Cafe has firmly established itself as a must-visit destination in Washington, DC, with two elegant locations near Dupont Circle. Renowned for its exquisite pastries, Tatte's kouign amann is a standout that should not be missed. While the weekend crowds can lead to long lines and limited seating, the experience is undeniably worth it. Guests can choose to dine in or grab their favorites to go.
Picked up breakfast for everyone during our family trip. All the pastries were pretty good, but the standout was definitely their iconic fluffy croissant—so light and delicious. The chocolate bun was also solid. There was already a line early in the morning on a weekday, which says a lot. I’d definitely come back. Great that it’s a chain, so the quality feels reliable wherever you go.

A very stylish and cozy spot. The coffee is great, and the desserts are absolutely divine — especially the dark chocolate mousse cake! The salmon and avocado sandwiches were fresh and filling. The interior is bright and welcoming with a beautiful pastry display. The only downside was the not-so-friendly staff — a bit more warmth would go a long way.

Recently visited one of the Tatte Bakery and Café location in Washington, DC (New York Ave and I Street). For those of you who are not familiar with these modern chain of high-end, fast casual cafes, Tatte's menu blends American, European, and Mediterranean influences, offering a wide array of scratch-made items from their signature beautiful pastries, tarts, and cookies to all-day breakfast dishes like shakshuka, along with coffee, specialty lattes, tartines, salads, and sandwiches. Tatte is known for its quality ingredients, picturesque interiors, and its commitment to great service during the entire experience, from fast ordering, courteous employees, and relaxed atmosphere. My own experience at this location was great, in spite of the store being suddenly overwhelmed by a group of tourists. I ordered a latte and a pastry, and both were perfect. Tatte's high prices are the 9nly reason why they got one less star from me

I had the croissant and the chocolate rose — both looked great but were disappointing in taste. The pain au chocolat was too doughy, and the chocolate rose felt heavy and stodgy rather than rich. My Americano was also underwhelming. On the bright side, the staff were genuinely friendly, and the interior was spotless and inviting. Overall, a nice space but the food and coffee didn’t live up to the hype.

This lovely cafe blew my mind away. The smoked salmon,Avocado and egg sandwich! Delicious! We walked, so I’m not certain on parking. Don’t have to wait in line too long. Seating might be an issue if it’s cold outside, but we were able to find seating inside.

Great bakery! Drinks were a bit slow, but the lamb pita was delicious. There was plenty of spiced lamb (actual lamb) meat with a tasty labneh drizzle stuffed in the Fluffiest pita I’ve ever eaten! They even give you the cap to eat…nice touch. Matcha latte was good but not sweet at all so ask for sweetener if you’re expecting a latte.

I was surprised by how fresh baked goods and food in general was. I had a Smoked salmon and avocado sandwich, really fresh and delicious. We also ordered a Pistacchio croissant and chocolate muffing, amazingly fresh and delicious. To drink I wanted to try the iced mango ginger juice, again, sooo fresh. When I walked in the line was long, but the cashiers were very quick and nice. Our order didn’t take that long and there were plenty places to sit indoors and outdoors. There are some other locations around D.C, this one was close to the hotel where I was staying at, only 3 blocks. It was worth the walk.

Amazing all around. I was afraid to ask about my food allergies because I allergic to soy and other things, but they went above and beyond to check the label and make sure they changed gloves for me and everything! Also the croissant sandwich was amazing! I got the seasonal pumpkin latte and it was super creamy, I am a picky coffee drinker so it was amazing.

Little Pearl is a sophisticated restaurant located in an intimate setting, offering a fixed price menu and wine pairings. Founded by Aaron Silverman, the bright mind behind Rose's Luxury and Pineapple & Pearls, this establishment has brought immense buzz to DC's Barracks Row. Situated in a historic carriage house on Pennsylvania Avenue, it transforms from a cafe during the day to a wine bar and restaurant at night.
Had an incredible time celebrating our anniversary here. They really made it a unique, custom and unforgettable experience The food was incredible and many of the dishes challenged your expectations (don’t want to give away the secrets 😉). They also gave the cutest cookie & milk as a late night snack!! You can’t book it, only can request it. But ask to eat in the conservatory! Incredible atmosphere. We are concerned it would be cold (was 20F out). But the room was warm and such a cozy feel!!! It is a bit difficult to find parking as many of the surrounding streets are permit only - so give yourself a bit of extra time.

Came here for my birthday and enjoyed the dinner. The timing between the courses was a bit long surprisingly for the small dishes they were serving. Two of the dishes that had cheese was too strong and they need to tone that down. They'll be changing the menu every so often.

Absolutely phenomenal. This could easily have been a 3 star Michelin experience. Every bite was impeccably crafted. You could sense the research and care that went into every element. The pacing was perfect. The staff was lovely. If I had to pick any flaw at all, it would only be that the chairs aren’t the most comfortable. Overall, it was one of the best dining experiences of my life and ranks as high as any other Michelin recommended restaurant I’ve ever been to - topping many of them. I cannot wait to return. Also, don’t hesitate to visit if you’re vegetarian. They don’t phone it in. You’ll receive the same consideration as any other diner.

A charming gem set back from a main thoroughfare in the city. Everyone was friendly and the service exceptional. The food and wine pairings were amazing, and they easily accommodate dietary restrictions. They change the menu every few weeks, so it's something to experience at least seasonally.
Nicole S — Google review
Overall good experience but I do have some notes! First course was the angel egg and asparagus tart. I absolutely loved the angel eggs, the white meringue like part had a sweet after taste that balanced the creamy yolk part perfectly. The asparagus tart may have been the star of the entire night, the pineapple was very refreshing with the asparagus. The New England clam chowder was good but it is definitely one of those dishes where you should eat everything together each bite. If you eat anything separately it isn’t balanced at all. Amazing though! Another star was the spring egg custard, I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It practically melts in your mouth and the peas give a great crunch. Surprisingly the wagyu beef salad was not our favorite. The flavors were great, but a few of our pieces had gristle or were just straight fat ends with no actual meat to it. With the price and high rating for this place we didn’t expect this. It’s mostly why I ranked it a 4 overall. Lastly the palate cleanser and dessert were stellar. I love toasted coconut so it may be one of my top 5 desserts of all time! We left the restaurant satisfied but not overly full. This may sound big back but I would’ve loved either slightly bigger portions or one other course! With the price I do love leaving the restaurant feeling like I’ve got my money’s worth!

This was from a year ago. 2-3/8 dishes were exceptional!! 1 terrible (okra) and rest were ok. I'd say the non-veg person had a wonderful time/ absolutely loved the food. Can't say the same for vegetarian versions. Great experience but will not go again. If you eat meat- you'd love this place. See the best and the worst (pics)

We’ve had an incredible and special experience at Little Pearl. It’s one of those places where every detail is thought of but it’s also very spontaneous, not pretentious and super relaxed. The food is awesome, what a menu ! The beef salad, the kind of egg flan and the medjhoul dattes dessert were incredibly flavorful, well balanced, tasty. Oh and the service is the best ! We left with a personalized menu and great memories.

Reveler's Hour is a cozy Italian restaurant located in Adams Morgan, offering a daily changing menu of delectable entrees and an extensive selection of fine wines. The housemade pastas are highly recommended, such as the tagliatelle with duck-leg-and-marsala ragu or casarecce with wood-roasted cauliflower. For those craving something beyond pasta, the hot-honey-glazed half chicken is a must-try.
everything here is so good!!! honestly not a single miss on the menu. I almost skipped the garlic knot but am really glad I didn’t because it was truly a highlight. would definitely be back for more. I also really enjoyed the panzanella.

This was my first experience at Revelers Hour & I have to say I am impressed! Everyone we interacted with was genuinely nice! I loved the experience here, Julian was our server and he’s amazing. The drink he created and served us was really good. (Name: Big Money) The food was so good. You have to try the Garlic knots! And definitely check out the bathroom lol. It’s so cool. I love how Julian and even the host (I’m sorry I forgot her name. :( ) were so informative on everything we had asked on the menu. Even when the restaurant was closed they don’t rush you out at all. You can take your time on everything. Thank you Ivy and Personale addetto alla cucina. I will definitely be coming back again! Also PLEASE arrive even 30-45 minutes before your reservation due to finding parking which they do send a text to notify you about. But it was a 3 minutes before walk for us which wasn’t bad at all. :)

I had the Arancini, gnocchi sardi, and olive oil cake and they were all fantastic. And while I came for food, I will say the two things I'll remember the most were 1. The fact you gave postcard with the receipt as a souvenir and one less thing I'd have to buy on my trip and 2. The service was amazing. I forget what her name is now, but my waitress came over and cleaned off the table of the two or three crumbs of truffle I had and got me new silverware for the second course. I can't think of any other restaurant I've been to where I've had service that attentive before.

Service is excellent, attentive and genuine. Our water glasses were always full without us asking. Our server, surprised us with two complimentary drinks because he said the main course took longer than usual after we finished our appetizer, but we didn't really notice it, it was a very nice gesture. All three of us enjoyed the food, from appetizer to dessert. Large plate food's portion is huge, even my son has left overs on his plate. I also like that the change up the menu, though I missed the pork chop from our last visit. It's a neighborhood gem for sure.

Fantastic experience! All of the food was perfectly prepared, service was excellent, and ambience was great. Easily the best fried chicken I've ever had. Would absolutely return.

Yum yum yum, and, shockingly good deal for the 3 course menu! Service was friendly and kind. Everything was delicious! Great mocktail menu! The amazing garlic knots should really be called like a garlic knot donut because garlic knot gives TJ Fridays energy and these were MAGICAL!
Natasha H — Google review
We had an exceptional dinner last night and selected the set course menu. The carrots and tuna were standout starters, the chicken was beautifully prepared, and the olive oil cake was a perfect finale, easily a 10 out of 10. The service was flawless, attentive yet unobtrusive, and the atmosphere was refined, welcoming, and pleasantly calm. A truly memorable dining experience.

Celebrated my birthday here, second time I visited. Both times the service has been outstanding really friendly, really relaxed service. I haven’t tried the pre fixe menu, but the à la carte options have always been wonderful for us. Try to save room for dessert.

Praline Bakery at The Wharf is a cozy venue offering artisanal pastries and classic French bistro dishes. Founded by former White House pastry chefs Susan Limb and Patrick Musel, the bakery has garnered a loyal following since its establishment in 2006. With locations in Bethesda, Fairfax, and now at The Wharf, Praline Bakery delights visitors with a menu featuring sweet and savory patisserie items.
I had a good experience here today. I got there right at opening and the cashier with glasses was able to help me pick out a nice selection of pastries for a celebration tonight. Everything tastes as expected. The lemon in the lemon bar is strong which is exactly what I like. The cookies and cupcakes were good and had the right flavors and textures, but the cupcakes were undercooked. The cake stuck together and to the paper. The macaroons are good. I didn’t get any this time but had them twice before and the same with the sandwiches.
Adam R — Google review
Good options for sweet and savory options. They also serve Lavazza coffee products. They also serve French macarons and freshly baked cookies on site. We had the espresso chocolate, triple chocolate cookie, and macarons. Reasonably priced given the location at Wharf DC.

I came to this shop earlier today while exploring the wharf area in DC. It seemed like a cute and exciting place from the outside. To my dismay, inside was different story. I’m not sure what their hours are, but at 2pm there was only one young lady working and the pastry case were pretty skimp. Not much to choose from at all. I ended up walking out without purchasing anything and there were other people inside who seem to have been waiting for a long time as well.
Brittany W — Google review
These macaroons were delicious definitely a must stop spot in the WARF. I had the cinnamon and the orange macaroons and they wer both delicious and tasty. Great place open areas sitting Inside or outside. The staff is very attentive and knows their macaroons. Definitely will go here again when I’m in DC.
Alex F — Google review
Purchased two cookies and Tiramisu for $14. I love desserts and do not mind paying for delicious food. We walked in, the decor and presentation of the desserts had me very excited to buy something. When I got home the same day and bit the chocolate chip cookie it was very stale. The cookie crumbled in my hand. Terrible. The tiramisu tasted syrupy like it had been sitting for days. I am kicking myself for not reading the reviews first. I only reason I gave this place one star is because the employee was very nice. I will Never come here again. There are too many places in DC with better sweet treats.
Margie C — Google review
There are no pralines but they do have praline cookies that were good. We all ordered the seasonal frozen lemonade. NOT what we expected, but BETTER. Powdery and tart! Once the heat started to melt them into a slush you’ll need a straw but start with a spoon. Each one is hand made so be patient! Yummy!
Michelle A — Google review
The Praline Bakery seems large for the few products they had when we visited them. Entering it, as it looked like an European store from the outside, we were surprise at the very simple and kind of lack of personality of the store inside. Both main displays were basically empty but had great macaroons (specially the apricot and caramel ones!). Although the price per piece was rather high for the size of the macaroons, (smaller than regular macaroons) the taste made it worth the price. The day we were there they had Italian soft nougat bars in several different flavors. Although the price was also high the quality and taste was great!!! We bought several of these bars and we enjoyed them very much!!! The girls at the counter were less than friendly!!

Near Hilton's Canopy at the Wharf is a Bethesda-based bakery owned by two pastry chefs who met while working at the White House. Here's our experience visiting after ice skating (located at the other end of the Wharf): 1) Food: My four-year-old daughter and wife each got a macaroon- one chocolate and one raspberry. They both really enjoyed it. One makes for a great small snack, especially for a toddler. 2) Drinks: I ordered a small hot chocolate and loved it. It's thicker hot chocolate and less sweet. However, the thickness makes it very rich so a small was more than enough. 3) Space: It's awkwardly large for a pastry shop. However, the space allows for a few tables and plenty of room to social distance during the pandemic. 4) Service: The person working was not warm, but attentive so no complaints.

Iverson Cookies, also known as The Great Cookie, has been a beloved establishment in the DC area for over 30 years. Despite the passage of time, the store remains unchanged and continues to offer outstanding customer service. The most popular item on their menu is the prized Snickerdoodle cookies, which are described as outstandingly delicious by many patrons. Some customers have been visiting this place since childhood and swear by the quality of these cookies.
Iverson Cookies/The Great Cookie has been a DC area staple for decades. It's been a while since I've been here, but it felt like a review is long overdue. So I took it upon myself to stop by & get some cookies for myself and my parents before I departed for IL a few weeks ago. The ever so popular cookie flavor there is the prized Snickerdoodle cookies. So, of course, I took it upon myself to order a few. I ordered about 8 cookies for $5 or $10 (apparently, they do not allow ordering by the half dozen nor dozen, but by the eights. Such as 8, 16, etc ). I was a bit judgy & hesitant because the cookies were almost razor thin, and I was used to thicker, regular sized cookies. But as soon as I took a bite, I was shook haha 🥲🫠🙃😅 They were so moist, soft, and delightful. Crunchy exterior but the right amount of crunch that it doesn't take away from the softness/moisture. The right amount of sugar and cinnamon. I think what makes this different from other Snickerdoodle cookies is perhaps the thinness and (I THINK, I could be wrong) the possible shortening base. They were so good, I decided not to be selfish and go back in to order my parents some to try 😂😭🤣 I will say since it's been a while since I've been to Iverson Cookies, I got a bit lost because I could not find an entrance point (I'll be honest: I forgot haha 😅). The entrance point is between Mama Lucia and Chipotle. If you have bad eye vision like me, you'll have to walk up closer to notice. At the physical establishment, it's listed as "The Great Cookie." On Google Maps, it's listed as Iverson Cookies. There's plenty of parking. The best way to get there is to drive or Uber. I am unsure if one can Metro there. Highly recommend whether you're a DC area native, transplant, or just visiting ❤️❤️❤️
Lakeisha S — Google review
I grew up eating their delicious snickerdoodle cookies. Recently, while visiting home, I stopped by to get some. I haven't had them in years. The company has always been owned and operated by Asians, but I noticed that all the staff were Hispanic. I also noticed the cookies were thinner and lacked their buttery, moist appearance. Sadly, the cookies tasted as dry as they looked. I'm assuming the company is under new management. I will not be returning.

Easily the best cookie store in the area. Definitely one of the best on earth. Their snickerdoodles are OUTSTANDINGLY DELICIOUS. The store has been here for ages, since I was a kid.
S. H — Google review
Cookies are not the same, my cookies were stale and hard I was disappointed and these were the snickerdoodle kind.
Jannah M — Google review
They’re realtor getting over now by selling them in bags and boxes. The quality had even changed. They’re sooo flat now. You get 8 cookies for $5 but it’s like you’re getting 4 cookies. I won’t be back! Sorry! It saddens me that you would even lie about the shop next door. That makes it even worse. I have been coming to your store for over 20 years. I clearly know where I got my cookies from. You were the best cookies in town. And yes you have different price points but you need to start back weighing and stop cheating people! The cookies were FLAT!

Satellite Sandwiches is a must-visit for cookie enthusiasts, offering oversized cookies that are over 4 inches in diameter and filled with delicious treats like caramel and chocolate chips. These cookies perfectly balance crispiness on the outside with a gooey interior. The store also offers delectable sandwiches, including cheesesteaks with gouda cheese that rival those found in Philadelphia. Additionally, their fries are highly recommended as they are considered some of the best around.
Not sure about the negative review. I have ordered many times through Doordash. My daughter and I absolutely love their cheesesteaks. I typically will get the hoagie and my daughter will get the cheesesteak with gouda. In my opinion the cheesesteak hoagie is so good. I lived in Philly for 5 years and it's even better than a lot of places there. Always get the fries and chocolate chip cookie. They have the best fries in my opinion. My daughter says they are okay, but they are my favorite. No it's not cheap, but it's worth it.

Small sign out front it's actually a different restaurant. The menu online is not the menu when you get there. We went for smash burgers, and they were not on the menu. Instead, it was heat and eat dry chicken sandwiches. It was $50.00 for two people. The chicken was dry and overheated. These are precooked thin chicken cutlets. One half was so overheated that the chicken was stiff.
Robert G — Google review
Couldn't find this place. Wandered into Astro Bar to see if they could point me in the right direction and they said Astro Bar was Satellite Sandwiches and pointed to a small sign in the window. I asked if I could order a sandwich and the guy at the front said I had to go order at the bar. I walked to the bar and asked if I could order a sandwich and the bartender (who seemed very annoyed I was bothering him) told me I had to go order at the front. At this point I walked out. *shrug emoji*

If you like Levain and Insomnia cookies, you MUST try the cookies here. As promised, the cookies were over 4 inches in diameter and weighed at least 4.5 ounces. They look to be the size of a tennis ball cut in half and stuffed with confections like caramel and chocolate chips. Captured all the elements of a good cookie: crispy on the outside, gooey (but not doughy!) on the inside. Planning to try the sandwiches next time, and hope to see this store (and for sure the cookies!) expand throughout DMV!
Coral D — Google review
This is the best Philly cheesesteak sandwich I have ever had. Period. And because it’s a delivery/pickup only service, they seem to have truly perfected the art of taking food to go. It arrived super hot and fresh. Cannot recommend this place enough.
Wafa B — Google review
The cheesteaks looked incredible online, but the actual thing was a complete disappointment - especially for the high price. Barely any cheese. Way too much bread. They also charge extra for mayo.... that probably should’ve been a red flag.
