Cooking class
At VIVE Cooking School, you can explore a diverse range of international cuisines through their rotating selection of cooking classes. Whether you're an experienced home cook or a complete beginner, there's something for everyone. From popular favorites like pizza making and Mexican cuisine to more exotic options such as Moroccan, Singapore Mud Crab, and Thai street food, the school offers a wide variety of culinary experiences. The classes are not only educational but also provide a fun and engaging environment for team building activities.
We received a voucher for this cooking school (awesome gift idea) and just did the Roma cooking class with Jodie and it was so good! We had a small group which meant a more intimate setting and felt we got one on one treatment. We learned a lot and the food we made and ate was absolutely delicious! And most importantly we’re excited to recreate the menu at home in the near future. Highly recommend!

My partner and I recently attended a Thai cooking class in VIVE Cooking School, and it was an incredible experience! From start to finish, the class was amazingly organised and fun. Our chef Mikiko was absolutely fantastic and passionate about Thai cuisine, and she made the entire process feel accessible, even for beginners like us. We learned to make two amazing dishes: Tom Yum soup and chicken Pad Thai. The flavours were so vibrant and authentic. I honestly don’t think I’ve tasted anything quite like it. Chef Mikiko walked us through each step, explaining the ingredients and techniques in a way that made everything feel easy to replicate at home. Not only did we walk away with new cooking skills, but we also got to enjoy a delicious meal at the end of the class. It was a great bonding experience, and we can't wait to put our new skills to the test in our own kitchen. Highly recommend this class to anyone looking to dive into the world of Thai cooking! Also a big shoutout to Jodie who elevated this fantastic experience to another level!!!

What an amazing and delicious experience learning about French patisseries at Vive school on a Sunday morning. Jodie and her crew were incredibly knowledgeable and fun teachers. They made quite complex techniques accessible to beginners and I now feel confident to replicate the recipes at home which I’m grateful about! We’ll be back for more. Thank you!!!

This was my time in Sydney to take the cooking cIass. The bus was delayed and I lost my way. But I had a wonderful evening and great experience with chef and her assistant. They are so kind and friendly and make sure everyone being well taking care of, they even helped me packed the food. Learned lots of useful cooking techniques and tricks ;) Will definitely come again.
Estelle W — Google review
A friend and I didn’t the Asian Street Food course. We loved learning how to make bao buns. Everything was measured out for us beforehand so it was more about learning the techniques used. Jodie was a great teacher and was very clear in her instructions but also made sure to ask if we had any questions regularly. She also got the whole class involved and would ask people questions so that they would have a chance to speak. Thanks for a great end to the weekend!
Olivia H — Google review
Recently tried the American Ribs class. It was very good and we learned a few new tricks. We should now be able to make ribs like the restaurants. Also learned to make corn bread and mayo from scratch. The chef was very helpful and friendly. This is the third cooking session we have done in recent times. Highly recommend for the professional setup and friendly nature in learning new cooking skills.

My partner and I went to our first cooking class at Vive with Jodie as our instructor. She was amazing in demonstrating each and every step, whilst also explaining and providing tips in detail to ensure we cook a magnificent meal. As a beginner chef, i thoroughly enjoyed the lesson and cant wait to come back. Shoutout to Marcus for assisting on the night as well!

We had our daughter’s birthday party at VIVE Cooking School Rosebery yesterday. She and her friends absolutely loved it and they had an amazing time. Jean-Luc and his team made sure everything was well prepared before and throughout the party. The session was so engaging and they all enjoyed the freshly made pasta at the end of the class. I would highly recommend VIVE for any occasions. Thanks again Jean-Luc.

Pasta Emilia is a charming Italian restaurant located in Surry Hills, offering a rustic ambiance and handmade pasta. The menu features a variety of antipasti and main dishes, but the highlight is their exquisite pasta selection. From strozzapreti with slow-cooked ragu to rich gnocchi with walnuts and blue cheese sauce, every dish is a showstopper. Additionally, Pasta Emilia serves as a pasta retailer, cooking school, and restaurant all in one place.
Had a fantastic lesson on how to make my own pasta. The owner/teacher was really good at explaining the process and paying attention to everyone on the class. When we finished with our creation, they cooked and serve it to us with a glass of wine. It makes me want to attend the sauce making class now. Really recommended class and activity for the weekend. I attended it solo and it was fine and not awkward at all.

This cozy Italian restaurant is an absolute gem for pasta lovers. The food is authentic and full of rich, traditional flavors — you can really taste the quality in every bite. From the homemade pasta to the flavorful sauces, every dish feels crafted with care. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a perfect place for a relaxed meal with friends or family. The staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely make you feel at home, adding to the overall great experience. If you’re looking for delicious Italian food in a casual and inviting setting, this spot is definitely worth a visit!

Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing service and amazing people! This is the first time I saw an Italian restaurant provided their menu with both Italian and English for every single dish. : ) It is really helpful for us whose from different culture backgrounds to understand what they are. All your staff is friendly and helpful, will be back many many times again!

Absolutely love this place! 🍝 The pasta is fresh, handmade, and full of flavour — you can really taste the love in every bite. Cozy atmosphere, super friendly staff, and great wine selection too. It’s my go-to spot in Sydney when I’m craving real Italian. Highly recommend the tagliatelle ragu and tiramisu — perfection! 🇮🇹✨

Literal Italy in Sydney. One of my favourite Italian restaurants. Dishes are made with fresh produce and the vibe of this place is just spot on. Perfect for a date night/friends night out or with family. Suits all the occasions!
Angela Y — Google review
Enjoyed our last evening in Sydney with this authentic Italian restaurant. The focaccia was golden with crisp top and the perfect density for dipping. Wish we had room to try the bruschetta too !! Both homemade pasta entrees were flavourful. The service was outstanding and in spite of having a full house, everyone was engaging and attentive.
Maryanne M — Google review
Absolutely love how homey Pasta Emilia feels — from the charming decor to the warm, relaxed vibe. It’s the kind of place where you can just sit back, trust the kitchen, and let them serve you comfort on a plate.

Amazing food! My friend had the carbonara, which they warn is salty and is quite salty. I had the mushroom pasta, it was so good. And the tiramisu was unreal. Service was bit slow. But I would definitely recommend, and the venue is so cute!

Amazing food. Ordered 2 entrees and 2 pizzas. Food came out within a reasonable time. Absolutely delicious. My children loved it and rated the pizza as the best they've had. The seafood entree was perfectly cooked.

Nov 24: Three day car travellers to Sydney. We were looking for a good pizza restaurant and found this place on google and figured it might be just far enough away from the harbour to avoid the cruise tourists. It was a pleasant evening with nice wine and two margarita pizzas. We always choose the margaritas because the taste is simple and easy to judge on quality, not disguised by overloaded toppings, and they were very nice.
Martin — Google review
This is a delightful place, service is friendly and great timing, food is incredible, truly a piece of Italy in Circular Quay. We opted for an amazing $49 special with antipasto starter and choice of main. We got Lamb Ragu Papardelle and Crab tagliatelle Oh My Goodness the flavours were delicious, Antipasto came with fresh hot focaccia bread and so much meat and olives and cheese. Everything was a flavour burst. Great value for money and the Chef even asked us how the food was as we left. We said Bellissimo! Thanks we will be back. Best Birthday dinner.
TheOfficial B — Google review
Tasty food in a great spot. Had the crab pasta and truffle mushroom pizza-both were delicious and well made. The environment is nice with a convenient Circular Quay location, perfect for a relaxed meal. Service was a bit pushy though, which took away from the overall experience.
Gary P — Google review
Brought my date here on her bday to try the Cacio e Pepe from the cheese wheel! Had the focaccia as well as mushrooms to add and ended the night with the tiramisu! Tiramisu portions are crazy big more than enough for 2! From the table side service of the cheese wheel and the awkward happy birthday celebration with the 1 server it was amazing service! So grateful!
Prosper — Google review
Had the pleasure of dining here on Saturday evening with my family, everything down to the atmosphere, service and food was second to none, I love how they have kept everything so authentic. The menu is amazing with all needs catered too including children. The food was brought to us in a timely manner, the antipasto platter, truffle risotto and meat lovers pizza is a must. Wow. Thankyou to all the staff for such a wonderful dining experience. We'll definitely be back.
Robyn P — Google review
I had the truffle mushroom risotto🍄‍🟫 I just got back from my Europe trip where I had a lot of truffle dishes, so the truffle quality didn’t quite compare but I was still impressed by the variety of mushrooms in the dish not just the usual ones😋 I made a reservation for us in advance, but it was pretty quiet during the Sunday lunch time.
Chi O — Google review
Good pizzas. Average pastas. Service friendly but a bit patchy. The truffle pizza $33 was tasty and had a nice chewy crust. The meat lover pizza $37 had a lot of bbq sauce and felt a bit poor quality compared to the price. Staff were friendly but seemed understaffed - we had to ask for things a few times. Additionally, she is the author of Light of Lucia, a captivating blend of memoir and cookbook.
Very good restaurant, every time I come the food is exquisite, the shrimp spaghetti is amazing.
Danny — Google review
Ever since this restaurant changed ownership, the food has improved tremendously—both in taste and variety. I was genuinely impressed. Their brunch is easily one of the best in town: beautifully presented, flavorful, and thoughtfully put together. My plate had perfectly poached eggs, juicy sausages, crispy bacon, sautéed mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, hash brown, spinach, sourdough toast, and a touch of Lurpak butter—absolutely delicious! The coffee is still as amazing as ever—smooth, rich, and just the way I like it. The staff here are also super friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Sharing a snapshot of their menu for anyone curious. If you’re into brunch or just looking for a cozy spot with great coffee and lovely service, I highly recommend this place!

Great scrambled eggs and coffee. Like the inside but outside area, can feel like out side but under the cover of a roof. Not sure why they have umbrellas up though. Still waiting on the QR code I needed to sign in with as was told it would be given to me at the table. If that was done then they would be 5 stars.
Nicholas I — Google review
First time in Sydney and came across Bacio. Came in for the lunch deal and ended up staying longer because the atmosphere was really nice. I had a fresh juice to start, wine with lunch (included in the deal), and a coffee to finish, highly recommend doing the same. Great spot to relax, eat well and take a break from the city buzz. They also got a proper Australian breakfast and Italian food on the menu, which was a nice surprise. Only about a 5 minute walk from Circular Quay and the Museum of Sydney.
Nathan F — Google review
DELICIOUS ITALIAN FOOD & DRINKS. The food is exquisite and the drinks are perfectly mixed (my favourite is the aperol spritz). They have a good selection of wines to accompany the freshly made pastas and other specials. I’ve been twice now and the service has been very friendly, attentive yet not overbearing. Perfect for a casual or work lunch. You really can’t go wrong with the ragu pasta or salmon!
Rachel A — Google review
Amazing food, the staff were friendly and the vibe is great. Good place to dine here on a weekday/weekend.
Adrian K — Google review
Bacio Cucina Italiana offers a truly authentic and memorable Italian dining experience. From the moment you walk in, the warm ambience, thoughtful decor, and welcoming staff set the tone for an enjoyable meal. The menu showcases a refined selection of classic and contemporary Italian dishes, clearly crafted with care and quality ingredients. The pasta is exceptional — perfectly al dente and generously portioned. The woodfired pizza strikes a beautiful balance between crispness and chew, with toppings that taste fresh and thoughtfully chosen. The seafood and meat dishes are also standouts, particularly the slow-cooked mains and daily specials. Service is attentive without being overbearing. Staff are knowledgeable about both food and wine, happy to offer pairing suggestions and accommodate dietary preferences. Whether you’re here for a casual dinner, date night, or special occasion, Bacio delivers on flavour, hospitality, and atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience a slice of Italy without leaving town.

"I Maccheroni" is an intimate Italian restaurant located on the border of Paddington and Woollahra. The chefs offer authentic Italian cooking classes every Saturday, where participants can learn to make pillowy gnocchi and silky pasta.
The whole experience was amazing! Took my friend out for lunch for her birthday. Marcello was a very nice and attentive host. The food was amazing!!! So fresh and soooo flavorful! We chose the set menu and added an extra starter and dessert. The burrata was something we couldn't pass on. The pasta was so fresh. We specially loved the squid ink pasta with crab. The surprise was how much we enjoyed the salads. They had their own identity and not just as a side dish. Even though we were full, there is always room for dessert. We had the tiramisu and the banofee pie. I am not usually a fan of banofee but this was so tasty. The banana ice cream was light and on point. We were so full but it was so worth it. Just before we left, Marcello got a special dessert out for my friend with a candle and we sang happy birthday to her. I will definitely come back again! Thx for a great experience.
Caroline B — Google review
After trying many italian restaurants in Sydney, this one has made it to the top of our list. The food was spectacular and the service incredible as well. The ribs are the best we’ve ever had and the pastas and desserts were beautiful too. Highly recommend the lamb ragu pasta and the ricotta tiramisu.
Angela J — Google review
I’m really not sure of the reasons behind the good reviews. Food was below average and the atmosphere was very loud and rushed. Definitely not overly authentic Italian. Pork Belly was cold and soggy. Pizza was flavourless. Interestingly the “non” Italian food - the wedges - where exceptional. Food was not brought out together. I must give credit where deserved - we were impressed by their ability to bring out (most) dishes very quickly with prompt good service.
Trent M — Google review
We love good Italian food & tonight didn't disappoint. My whole party loved the food, service was friendly & attentive & the wine so delicious we ordered another bottle. Second visit and we will come back. I was the only vegan in a table of four & ate handsomely with delicious bread & olives followed by a vegan pasta & vegan creme brûlée. Wonderful night!
D J — Google review
I Maccheroni is an outstanding Italian restaurant that truly exceeded our expectations. I went with a friend and we left extremely satisfied, both with the food and the service. We started with two entrées: gnocco fritti and arancini. The gnocchi were a complete surprise — light, crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and full of flavor. Honestly, they are among the best Italian starters I have ever had in a restaurant, if not the best. The arancini were also delicious, perfectly cooked and very tasty, setting the tone for what was to come. For the main courses, we chose the saffron mafaldine with lamb ragu and the cacio e pepe. The saffron pasta was rich and beautifully balanced with the lamb ragù, a dish that felt both hearty and refined. The cacio e pepe was prepared right at our table by a very friendly and passionate waiter, which added a special touch to the experience. Watching the dish being finished in front of us made it feel unique, and the flavor lived up to the show — creamy, peppery, and absolutely authentic. The presentation of both plates was impeccable, a real 10/10. To finish the evening, we ordered a tartufo for dessert, which was exquisite and the perfect sweet ending to the meal. We spent about $60 per person, which might seem a bit on the higher side, but for the quality of the food, the attention to detail, and the warm service, it was completely worth it. Dining here felt like a genuine Italian experience, and we walked out not only full but truly happy with the whole evening. If you’re looking for authentic, high-quality Italian food in Sydney with excellent service and atmosphere, I Maccheroni is a place I would highly recommend.
David C — Google review
Lovely neighbourhood Italian restaurant that will definitely become part of the regular rotation! This was our second time at I Maccheroni. The first time was perfect. The dishes tasted beautiful, the service was warm but efficient and the atmosphere was cosy and welcoming. So when we visited again, expectations were really high and we thought that just maybe we might have been lucky the first time. But our second dinner there was as wonderful! The arancini and zucchini flowers had a beautiful crunchy texture and were very flavourful. We both had pasta from the specials menu - squid ink pasta with marron and pumpkin ravioli - and they were equally delicious. Even my meat loving husband couldn’t fault the ravioli! The banoffee pie was a great way to finish an excellent dinner. I really loved that the waiter approved of us sharing the dessert, saying it was a good idea as it was quite a rich one, instead of trying guilt us into ordering a dessert each. It really showed that he cared more about us having a great experience than racking up a larger bill. Everything about this place was spot on and we already can’t wait to come back. Thank you for a wonderful evening and great hospitality!

Came here with my friends to celebrate, and we were absolutely obsessed with the food. The staff created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The night was well spent.

Seriously quality food. The service and hospitality is second to none, authentic Italian with a real local touch. They welcome the locals with the nod of the head and love, and accommodate with consistency of service throughout a magical night of an Italian experience. Finding a restaurant like this is like finding a hidden gem, I have messaged 5 of my good mates after this experience tonight and this will be our place to catch up and share stories from now on. Food is important, service is everything. This beautiful place have everything. Thanks guys.

Had cold soba, vegan plate and the grilled cheese sandwich. The grilled cheese was a bit greasy. The filter coffee was good (they use an EK and good beans) but was maybe brewed a while ago, and one of our lattes came out at about 40C, but the next was the proper temp. Overall, good food/drinks.

Good atmosphere, interesting crowd and great coffee. The Menu - Limited, boring and bland. It is definitely not a place to grab dinner (but rather, maybe glass of wine). Ordered the octopus with beans, which were not seasoned and clearly came straight out of a can ($16). Manager retaliated quite a bit when I mentioned this, and criticized my approach. Also, there is a giant rat living in the back (on the way to the toilet). The manager knows about it and was okay when I mentioned it. Last thing, there is laundry (underwear and stuff) hanging in the back, which I found really strange. I guess this works with the local hipster community? I don't know. 2/5 (but more like 1.5).
Mohammad A — Google review
Great coffee spot in Marrickville. Menu is swayed towards "hipster" choices, that said they are very tasty. I'm a fan of the yoghurt and they also do some great things with eggs. The coffee is great and they definitely cater for the real coffee aficionados if you are looking for pour over or similar. This place can get busy at peak times so you may have to wait for a seat on weekends.
George F — Google review
Honestly expected a bit of arch hipster cliche and it is but the egg on toast is one of the best I’ve ever had. Kombucha on tap was great and the ploughmans board is worth it
Drew M — Google review
Nice place and good service. Wait times can be long if you get there at the peak of the storm on the weekend. I would give 5 stars but the food has been inconsistent on our last few visits. Worth visiting if you're in the area.
Leanne A — Google review
The bartender seems friendly. Waitress who greeted me seems alright. What ruined the experience was the waitress at the cashier. Rude. Snatched the menu off me and was clearly annoyed that I asked why the price was $42. There’s also apparently a weekend surcharge of like 6.5% * 5% weekend + 1.5% credit card stated on the menu Anyhow, the trending bad reviews are on the right track. Not amazing for the attitude and price you have to put up with. I don’t understand how this place has more than 3 stars. Update: the toastier was decent. Shame I didn’t have a great experience. I guess service does really make an impression

Seafood market
Sydney Fish Market is a beloved institution among locals and a world-famous seafood destination. It's the second-largest seafood market globally in terms of variety, offering some of the freshest seafood in Sydney. The market features shops for seafood, deli items, wine, and baked goods, as well as casual cafes and restaurants serving fresh oysters and fish and chips.
Sydney Fish Market is a must-visit if you love seafood! The variety is amazing! everything from fresh prawns and oysters to sushi, lobster, and sashimi. We tried a little bit of everything and it was all so fresh and delicious. It does get really busy, especially around lunchtime, but that’s part of the fun and atmosphere. Prices are reasonable for the quality you’re getting, and there’s plenty of seating by the water where you can enjoy your food. Just watch out for the seagulls if you’re eating outside! Definitely worth the stop when you’re in Sydney.
Milacarlosg — Google review
must-visit for seafood lovers. 🦞🐟 The variety is incredible — from fresh oysters, lobsters, prawns, and sushi to cooked dishes like fish & chips. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and reasonably priced for the quality. It can get very busy, especially around lunch, but the lively atmosphere adds to the experience. Seating is available inside and outside, with a nice view of the water. Perfect place to enjoy fresh seafood in Sydney!

Arrived at 3.20pm and it seems like most stalls are already washing up and closing, no more cooking of seafood. Had a quick look and the seafood is indeed fresh and of high quality, however, the prices are on the high side as you can expect of a tourist spot. Got a quick bite for $5 but didn’t managed to catch anything else as it was already near closing time. Would still recommend a visit if you are in the vicinity and enjoys seafood, you choose the items, they cook for you.
Tong T — Google review
The entrance is free, do not believe what’s on Google review that says $95 on ticket section. Got plenty of good food from Multiple food vendors. Many varieties of fish, prawn and crab that you can cook at home, lots of choices but if you want to eat in the market just be careful with the seagulls, those birds love to steal people’s food but thankfully they never snach mine. What I don’t like about this market is when so many Chinese tourists come here, they don’t know the basic manner like standing on the queue or just saying “excuse me & sorry”.
Thomas C — Google review
Had an awesome time at Sydney Fish Market! The seafood was super fresh and tasty — loved the oysters, salmon, scallops, and prawns. The crab legs were amazing too! Great portions, lively vibe, and that fresh coconut drink was the perfect finish. Definitely a must-visit for seafood lovers in Sydney! 🦪🦐🐟🍋
ROWENA A — Google review
An amazing place to get a variety of seafood from raw to cooked. First up, parking can be a headache. I'd recommend going through the market first before buying from just one place. I found some places were more expensive than others and were selling the same produce. I'd definitely recommend getting sea urchin topped oysters, they're really nice!
Arz E — Google review
Plenty of fresh seafood to choose from! You can pick your seafood from the shops and they’ll cook it for you on the spot, or prepare fresh sashimi slices right in front of you. It’s a great experience for seafood lovers. Just a heads up if you sit outdoors, you’ll likely get swarmed by seagulls, so it’s best to eat indoors or take your food elsewhere.
Kuan-Yu C — Google review
Extraordinary feast for the senses for lovers of seafood. One suspects short cuts have been taken with the vast array of prepared options but can not fault the freshly cooked Lobster nor the service at Nicholas Seafood. Went back to the purchase point seeking a "doggy bag" when the size of the Lobster proved our eyes were larger than our stomaches and were asked to bring it back and they cracked and repacked for us to takeaway. Sat outside to eat and noted that the some common sense such as keeping the food covered from the view of the seagulls untill we sat down, avoided the gull stampede.

Indian restaurant
Nilgiri's is a renowned Indian eatery that offers a bustling atmosphere, featuring both buffet and tasting menus. The elegant dining space is adorned with white tablecloths, providing a relaxed setting. Established in 1998 in Crows Nest, the all-Halal restaurant later relocated to St Leonards in 2003 before finally settling on Military Road in Cremorne.
Nilgiri’s in Cremorne is an absolute gem! This husband-and-wife-run restaurant delivers an exceptional dining experience that feels like being welcomed into a warm, loving home. The food is simply outstanding – beautifully cooked , both the meat and fish dishes were so tender and soft , the large prawns are to die for and packed with authentic flavors that make every bite memorable. The portions are so generous and wholesome, served with a delightful family-style charm, that we left completely satisfied (and, unfortunately, without room for dessert!). First world problems:) The ambiance adds to the magic, with a cute and cozy setting that makes you want to linger a little longer. It’s the perfect spot for a comforting, flavorful meal. If you’re after delicious Indian cuisine with a personal touch, Nilgiri’s is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!

Best Indian food in Sydney without doubt. High class Indian food. Choose one of the banquet options and put yourself in the hands of Ajoy. You’ll love the flavours, textures and service. Absolutely a memorable dining experience. Menu changes every 3 months to highlight a different region of India.

Just wow. Nicest couple ever. Explaining about origin of food and spices but not to the extent that’s boring and intrusive to your night out. So polite and gentle and… just wow. Food is really good. The dessert we tried was to die for. Keep in mind that they are tad overpriced which is totally justifiable given the level of service and beautiful atmosphere

Such a beautiful dining experience in Sydney I am not a fan of Indian food. However, visiting this place totally changed me. We were looking for a nice place for a late dinner and found this lovely restaurant. We were welcomed with smiling faces and we were walked to a lovely table. ATMOSPHERE: Great vibrant atmosphere with some lovely Indian decor. Water for the table were immediately served and they took our orders when we were ready. It also did not take a long time for our food to come out, freshly cooked FOOD: We had the samosas and lamb cutlet for entrees , a fruit Naan bread with the eggplant and their butter chicken style were just soooo beautiful!! We shared a mango dessert and we can say that it truly exceeded our expectations. When I asked for the dish not to be too spicy, there were no issues and they delivered such flavorsome dishes just right for our tastebuds. Each dish were presented with some information on the origin of the dish and a bit of description of the ingredients. SERVICE: The service was top notch, made us feel special. The owner was quite attentive and would walk around checking out if we were fine. Overall, it was such a great dining experience and we will come back again. It is so highly recommended to anyone who would like to discover beautiful authentic Indian dishes.

The selection of teas and wines perfectly rounds out the experience. It’s an unforgettable culinary adventure!

Restaurant
Luna Lu is a must-visit spot in Sydney, offering contemporary Asian cuisine with an incredible view. The restaurant is renowned for its delectable handmade dumplings that are freshly prepared on-site daily, boasting a delicate and light texture that melts in your mouth. On New Year's Eve, Luna Lu provides an unforgettable experience with impeccable service, unparalleled food presentation, and the perfect location to enjoy the fireworks.
I recently had the pleasure of celebrating a 13th birthday at Luna Lu in Sydney, and it was a memorable experience! From the moment we arrived, the vibe was warm and inviting, with great views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House despite the huge cruise ship near the opera house blocking a bit of the view, but it added to the experience. The food was a highlight of the day — delicious, beautifully presented, and as tasty. We ordered a range of share plates, including the vibrant purple dumplings, pork belly bao buns, candied seafood fried rice, and the sweet yuzu chicken. Lovely Asian fusion flavours & colours . To top it all off, we had the opera house themed cake for dessert, which was as delightful to look at as it was to eat. The birthday girl was absolutely thrilled with the food and the overall experience, which really made the day stand out. It was a hot day, and while most of the shaded tables were booked (we had reserved ours a week in advance), our waiter went above and beyond. Our waiter (sorry don’t remember his name but he was a very tall man with an European accent, thank you for your service) who was very friendly and accommodating, quickly arranged a large umbrella for us pushing it all the way to our table and some how made it fit ensuring we had the perfect shade while we enjoyed our meal. He ensured that we were in the shade as he checked on the umbrella moving it from time to time. His service at Luna Lu was top-notch, making the experience even more enjoyable. The combination of great food, attentive service, and awesome harbour views made it a perfect celebration. Highly recommend Luna Lu for anyone looking to enjoy delicious food in a beautiful location with a welcoming atmosphere.

A wonderful dining experience with an unbeatable view! I had dinner at Luna Lu and absolutely loved it. The location is perfect — you can see both the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House right from your table, making it a truly special setting. I ordered two mains from the vegetarian section: the Moo Shu Mock Chicken and the Luna Asian Salad. The salad was fresh and vibrant, topped with beautifully sliced avocado and a flavorful peanut-based dressing. The mock chicken was outstanding — tender, savory, and reminded me of General Tso’s chicken, but milder and more refined. It’s so rare to find a soy-based dish this well prepared! I paired my meal with green tea and sparkling water, which complemented everything perfectly. Service was attentive and friendly, and the overall atmosphere struck just the right balance of classy and relaxed. It’s a great spot for celebrations — I noticed several birthday groups around, all enjoying the lively yet elegant vibe. Yes, it’s a bit on the pricier side, but absolutely worth it for the quality, presentation, and unbeatable location. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Sydney or looking for a memorable night out!

I had my birthday dinner here & had a great time. All the staff i spoke to were all so sweet even if it is just customer service- they were very attentive especially the asian male waiter (i should’ve asked for the name), he noticed and provided my group with extra spoons without asking. I ordered the Seafood Candied Fried Rice, Wagyu beef egg noodles, Luna duck salad and a mocktail. The Seafood Candied Fried rice is one of the restaurant’s signature dishes for a reason, my group absolutely loved it! Definitely recommend! Everything else was also very delicious, I’d definitely come back to try other dishes next time. There was a complimentary dessert due to the occasion of my birthday, and I appreciated the welcoming hospitality.

We had such a wonderful experience dining here! The highlight of our visit was the outstanding service from Oliver — he was incredibly professional, attentive, and genuinely made us feel so welcome. It’s rare to see someone who combines friendliness and efficiency so perfectly. Oliver went above and beyond to ensure everything was just right, and his positive attitude truly made our evening special. The food was also excellent — fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. Every dish came out promptly and was perfectly prepared.

the food was honestly so good, especially the scallops and the kingfish tuna! the drinks were wonderful, service was nice, and the view of the opera house is beautiful too. if you ever get the chance, definitely come for a meal!

The 6 times birthday dinner at Luna Lu! Perfect spot to enjoy great food while watching the sunset over the Sydney Opera House and great for photos after the meal. 🍣 Entree Absolutely loved the Trio Tartare (salmon, tuna, kingfish) and the crispy Sesame Prawn Toast. So much texture in every bite! 🥟 Dim Sum: The dumplings are super generous! Go for the shrimp dumplings if you love seafood, or the crystal veggie dumplings – highly recommend! 🦞 Tasmanian Southern Rock Lobster: Served with Hong Kong-style XO sauce noodles. The kids devoured it right after we took photos! 🍰 Luna Opera Cake: A must-try dessert every time! Had to order it while facing the Opera House. Beautiful and tasty, with a light coconut flavor and a surprise wattle seed base.

Luna Lu is great and delicious asian modern cuisine. Located in front of the harbor, across the Sydney Opera House. Great spot for pictures! Service is excellent. Ask for Mae, she is going to serve you with a beautiful smile in her face. Food is amazing. We started with the Pork belly bao; then Luna duck 😋 (I loved it!) and Wagyu steak for my husband with Luna fries. Finally, dessert: Pandan fried ice cream and Luna Opera … they look great… but taste even better. Don’t miss Luna Lu, if you are in Sydney!

What a find!! We stopped in for a pie each on a cold day and absolutely loved our pies. We shared a pork & fennel sausage roll. Omg!! It was delicious! Our all time fav meat pie go-to. Reasonably priced, friendly service, decent size. Been visiting their other branches and they never disappoint us. I would avoid coffee there tho cause it’s more on the richly roasted side.

I recently visited Bourke Street Bakery in Marrickville and was absolutely delighted by my experience! Firstly, let's talk about the pastries - they are divine! Each bite is a burst of flavor and freshness. If you visit, you simply must try their special Ham and Cheese as well as Tomato and Cheese Crossties. You must try this! Moreover, I was genuinely impressed by the warm hospitality and excellent customer service provided by the staff. They were incredibly polite, kind, and attentive, making my visit all the more enjoyable. It's evident that they truly care about their customers' satisfaction. Overall, Bourke Street Bakery is a gem of a bakery with scrumptious pastries and top-notch service. I highly recommend paying them a visit!

We have started to go here more frequently since I really enjoy their pork fennel sausage roll. Came by today and they had a new jalapeno cheese scroll. IT'S GREAT. Reminds me of a cheesy southwestern bread a friend used to make. It's has just enough heat to not over power and the different textures with the cheese and the bread make it just really enjoyable. For my own benefit so it sticks around, I encourage anyone reading this to get it so it shows demand 😅.

Disappointed! This place used to be good but today I purchased a pork/fennel sausage roll which was raw and a lemon curd that tasted like chemicals, do these people not taste what they make before they serve it to people? I had to throw both items in the bin, waste of my time and waste of my money.

The restaurant also emphasizes sustainability and the use of local ingredients, making it an appealing choice for students studying abroad. Located in Barangaroo, this all-day Italian eatery has quickly become a favorite among locals due to its impressive lunch and dinner offerings.
Bumped into this casual Italian dining place at Barangaroo, food tastes much better than we thought! The pear pizza is so good, perfect starter or dessert option! Also, I liked the pumpkin & prawn risotto. Will be back for another a friends gathering.

Bottega Coco has a lovely and cozy ambiance making it a nice place to relax and enjoy a meal in the city. The bruschetta was the highlight of the meal fresh and full of flavour. The Margherita and Pollo pizzas were tasty but served a bit warmish which was a little disappointing. The salt and pepper calamari was crisp and well seasoned and the lemon lime bitters was very refreshing. The tiramisu was a sweet and satisfying way to finish the meal. Overall the experience was good and the food was enjoyable even though the pizzas were a bit warmish. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff made it a pleasant place to dine.

Absolutely loved my weekend brunch at Bottega Coco in Barangaroo 🥂 The moment you walk in, it feels like stepping into an Italian movie — golden lights, wine aroma, and that effortless Dolce Vita vibe. The Ciao Bella Bottomless Brunch was such a surprise: soft homemade focaccia, creamy burrata, a generous antipasto platter, and the standout Wild Boar Ragu — rich, aromatic, and perfectly paired with wine. Ended with their tiramisu (a must!) and 2 hours of free-flowing Aperol & Limoncello Spritz 🍊 At $99 per person, it’s easily one of the best brunch experiences in Sydney — good food, beautiful space, and that kind of slow, happy weekend energy. 💛

The cafe Barbetta is a popular spot for brunch in Sydney. The menu features classic Italian dishes such as bolognese lasagne and salads, as well as some unique twists like avo toast smothered in buffalo mozzarella and basil. They also offer espresso and spritz options, as well as delicious biscotti to satisfy any sweet tooth.
The food was amazing for the price, the flavours were unique and balanced. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the interiors. The wine was nice and light and complimented the food very well. The service was quite selective and had to get their attention every time we needed to order, drinks, food and desert/ didn’t have water bottles on table and never came back to refill our water glasses- if this was better, it would have improved the experience overall. The service was professional and quick however. The atmosphere was great, wasn’t too loud and the table lighting helped increase the overall mood. Would love to come back here for another dinner!

Such a stylish and delicious Italian café in Sydney! Barbetta is one of the most beautiful cafés I’ve visited in Sydney. The interior is super chic and cozy, with a lovely retro Italian vibe that makes you want to stay longer. I ordered a coffee, a sandwich, and the crème brûlée—and everything was absolutely delicious. I was especially impressed by the crème brûlée. It’s surprisingly hard to find a really good one in Sydney, so I was so happy to finally enjoy one that was creamy, rich, and perfectly caramelised. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed yet refined. It’s a great spot for brunch, lunch, or even just a sweet treat and coffee. I’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu!

Ambience is lovely - very comfortable clean and typical of your Paddington area. Unfortunately the food was a big disappointment for the establishment and price point. The fritters were soggy and absolutely not crispy and in fact were placed on top of watery peas so how could it ever have been fritters is beyond me. The other dishes were a little too salty.

I recently took part in the Risotto / Arancini Masterclass at Barbetta with my nephew as a special birthday gift for us to share and it was absolutely wonderful. He's always loved cooking, but one of his regrets has been not learning all the beautiful and authentic recipes from his Nonna (my mum), who's no longer with us. This class felt like a fun and meaningful way to reconnect with that tradition together. Carmelo is an exceptional chef and teacher - warm, engaging, patient and incredibly knowledgeable. He brings not only his culinary skill but a deep sense of Italian culture, passion and tradition to the experience. The class was relaxed, hands-on and so much fun. Even as someone who thought they knew their way around a risotto, I picked up new techniques and insights. It was the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon - we left with full hearts, full stomachs and great memories. Thank you so much Chef Carmelo and team! I can’t recommend Barbetta’s classes highly enough.

I had an amazing time at Four Pillars Laboratory with my friends, and I have to give a big shout-out to Louis for making it such a memorable experience. He was incredibly knowledgeable, really tuning into our conversation to suggest the perfect drinks for us. Not only did he serve us great selections, but he also went above and beyond by sharing insights into the distillery process, which made the whole experience even more fascinating! While we were enjoying our drinks and chatting, we also noticed another worker who his colleagues spoke to named Biraj. He was a hardworking team member who was mostly in the back but seemed crucial to everything running smoothly. We saw him working tirelessly the entire night, without taking a break, always making sure that everything was organized and supporting the rest of the staff. The level of service and dedication from both Louis and Biraj made this visit extra special, and I can't recommend Four Pillars enough. Definitely a place to visit if you're looking for great drinks and excellent service!

We went two nights in a row and even when there was no one there the atmosphere and staff were amazing. Felix, Jess and Lui took such good care of us and answered all my questions. Returned the next night when it was busy and Zoe and Olga helped me pick out a great bottle to take home. If your in Sydney and love gin or want a truly unique experience the Laboratory is a must go!

I’ve had some of the most interesting and delicious cocktails of my life at Eileen’s Bar. This is a place you come to for creativity and uniqueness in your drinks, and there’s some tasty snacks to go along as well! Definitely book ahead, both times I’ve been I’ve seen people turned away or facing a long wait for a walk-in.

The GINsperience we had this afternoon brought to us by Olga was absolutely GINtastic! The knowledge of the business history, founders and the product second to none! Assuredly Christmas in July for a marvellous family event! Thanks Olga and Four Pillsrs! 🕊️

I very rarely post reviews here on Google, but my partner and I’s experience at Eileen’s Bar during their happy hour was beyond words 🙌 Such a warm and inviting atmosphere, with the best staff - and don’t get me started with the cocktails and offerings they had. Sooo good. Highly recommend visiting this place, even if you’re not into gin. I, for one, wasn’t too keen til I tried :) We’re already looking forward to our next visit, thank you!!

Smick ultra modern Gin bar Venue: excellent design and execution. So nice to enjoy a functionally designed space, tip my hat to the lighting designer. Staff: very engaging and attentive, keen to ensure we had a drink we would like & enjoy. Drinks: impressive flavour combos, particularly in the cocktails.

Harvest Vegetarian Restaurant is an unpretentious and down-to-earth place serving inventive vegetarian cuisine. The restaurant has been around for a long time and is popular with locals. You can have a two or three course set menu or order from the la carte menu. The food is good value for money, tasty and well presented. The service is excellent and the atmosphere quiet and relaxing.
Brilliant place for anyone looking for a cosy time away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s a really compact restaurant that really encourages meaningful conversations and an intimate dining affair. Great start for those looking to transition into vegetarianism and appreciate simple but delicious food.

What a wonderful find Harvest Vegetarian Restaurant was! To start with they have a delightfully fun vegetarian/vegan menu. All the dishes were delicious and elegantly presented, the atmosphere was relaxed and homely and Adam and his staff were friendly and engaged. Not to mention the prices were wonderfully affordable for this calibre of cuisine. We'll definitely be coming back!

Bought my wife a voucher for cooking classes. Website wasn't working, phone disconnected, no response to emails. Finally thought I'd booked after several weeks, no confirmation and again no response so I left it. Got a text message the night before the classes, wrote back to try and explain. You guessed it, no response! I'm sure the classes are great but I'll never know, I've given up.

A vegetarian’s dream! We found this great place from research and was not disappointed! All courses were fantastic from entrees to dessert. Highlight for me was the house made tortellini !

Innovative vegetarian food in an old shop, lovingly restored. Great tasting entrees, mains, and desserts. Parking could be hard, luck of the draw.

What a great spot. The Goats cheese soufflé was perfect. The freshly made pasta was packed with flavour and generous servings. If you are a vegetarian looking for a place to take your carnivore friends, this is the place to take them. Bookings recommended.

Omnom Cheese Making offers a 90-minute class where participants can learn to make their favorite cheeses at home. The classes are beginner-friendly and include wine, making it a fun and educational experience. The founder, Marly Badia, is praised for her warm and knowledgeable teaching style. While some participants found the class more focused on fun than on in-depth cheese-making techniques, others enjoyed the experience and look forward to trying out their new skills at home.
A lot of fun, and very informative. Even though I was the only individual there (everyone else was with friends or partners), I had a good time. The Omnom crew are very friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do. And, of course, you leave with plenty of 🧀
Jared C — Google review
Had a fantastic time at the "Ricotta, Ravioli & Rose" class at Omnom! Very hands on and we made everything from scratch. Learned heaps of new tips even though we had made these things before. Bottomless wine was a must, and the added buffalo mozzarella entree was divine! After all was done, you get to feast on all your delicious ravioli's in a beautiful brown butter & rosemary sauce. Super fun night!

What a fantastic experience. Del was extremely knowledgeable and patient with such a rowdy group. A great way to learn a new experience and a welcoming space. We were involved with the Burrata & Boccocini class. Thanks to all involved
Dan D — Google review
Won this class experience as part of a work thing and man, the guidance and fun I had and information was amazing. Well worth the money and I plan on going myself out of pocket. It is really really enjoyable and informative and you can tell they love cheese
Ryan D — Google review
i have been to both the pasta making and the burrata and bocconcini cheese making and loved it so much!! at the pasta making they cook your pasta for you at the end to eat with a lovely garlic butter sauce and straciatella. was so amazing. the instructors are so friendly and make everything so easy to follow along and give you recipes and tips to recreate at home too! pics included are from the pasta making only
Ellie P — Google review
Had a great time at the Burrata cheesemaking class! Informative and friendly team taking you through all the steps of cheesemaking. They clearly had a passion for cheesemaking Instructions were clear and concise, great fun for a date, families, or a hens. Probably not suitable for small kids however as the process does involve near boiling water. The final product tasted great!

We had the best time. Such a fun and welcoming class. We learnt so much. The bottomless bubbles flowed the entire time and the halloumi was so delicious!!! Best way to celebrate our anniversary

Such a fun experience and well taught class! Amazing to be able to eat our freshly made gnocchi and take some home, as well as our fresh ricotta. Del was an excellent teacher - making it really enjoyable and easy to follow

"The Big Bake" is a challenging yet enjoyable activity that requires no prior experience, just a good sense of humor and 90 minutes of your time. Participants can also enjoy some bubbly and cocktails during the event. The set-up is described as delightful and well-equipped, providing everything needed for the baking challenge. The hosts are praised for their knowledge, entertainment, and ensuring everyone has a great time. It's recommended for group celebrations or corporate events due to its fun atmosphere and interactive games.
Great fun time, excellent host, made sure it was fun and interactive. Mae, our host was really knowledgeable and made sure we were having fun and kept us on track and entertained. A good fun group activity, yummy result.

Having booked a private session for myself and 9 friends, the overall experience was fun due to the company but the entire evening was poorly executed. Firstly having booked for 5 couples, I clearly said in my communications to book we would be competing in our couples. However on arrival they asked us to split into two two's and two three's. This was soon rectified but the start of many fumbling points. Our host also confused our dietary requirement for one vegan couple with a nut allergy (which could've been detrimental to the actual person with a nut allergy). Again this was resolved, but our host clearly had no idea the audience she was catering for - bad execution on the company's organisation skills. Also the vegan option which they supposedly cater for, was not followed through to all the activities of the evening. The host was kind enough to substitute the activity for the vegan couple, however it wouldn't be difficult to get a slab of vegan chocolate. The options for baking were very limited and we were repeatedly handed the wrong recipe cards. Given that we paid per person, we asked if we could make 2 cakes per couple and were essentially told they didn't want us to use that many ingredients. On top of the high price for the event, the drinks at the bar were very highly priced. Whilst we really enjoyed ourselves in terms of spending time with friends on a Friday night, the experience is a good idea but definitely not value for money, poorly executed and has plenty of room for improvement.
Priya A — Google review
Very poor experience if you’re vegan. I was partnered up with my friends who were not vegan. They said it’s okay for us to make the vegan cupcakes. They tasted absolutely awful. I bake a lot at home for friends and special occasions. The vegan recipe card needs to be changed. I was so embarrassed that my friends had to taste these disasters. They tasted like pure cocoa powder. $180 between the three of us and we had to leave the box behind as they were not edible. To advertise as all dietary requirements are met. They give toppings of Maltesers, smarties, gummy bears and marshmallows. That is definitely not okay.
Sophie G — Google review
Me and the girls had the absolute best time here in April. It's something different and so fun. The set up is perfectly pretty, has everything you would need. The host went the extra mile to make it like a real competition. Must do in Sydney!
Billie G — Google review
I'd recommend this for kids but certainly not what I expected. Venue was tiny but decorated pretty but you're given recipe cards for basic cupcakes or tart and ingredients and off you go. For $58 a ticket, you're better off DIY at home.
Jessica — Google review
Such an amazing experience! Natalie was our host and she was unreal. Such fun! The only downside was the lack of aprons. Got very dirty and came in my work clothes.
Callum A — Google review
So much fun!!! Such a lovely venue and the baking was awesome - the hosts were great and the games were hilarious. Would recommend for a group of friends or a corporate event !

Cooking class
At Bondi Social Cooking School, participants engage in wholesome cooking classes that focus on transforming rescued ingredients into delicious meals for those in need. This unique experience is perfect for teams eager to contribute positively to the community while learning valuable skills like root-to-shoot cooking and fun facts about food waste. Led by the passionate team from OzHarvest, known as Australia's top food rescue organization, these classes not only foster a laid-back atmosphere but also create a sense of camaraderie among attendees.
I have been to the cooking classes at least 4 times now, and I love them! Its such a laid back atmosphere, and you get to cook with awesome people while knowing your efforts are going to a great cause. There isn't another cooking class that does anything like this. The fact that you will feed someone who is homeless or doing it tough within the next 24 hours is truly amazing. I always want to help people and this is a great platform to be able to do just that. Whats more, Danni and Joe who run the classes are just amazing, so supportive and create a really friendly and welcome vibe. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a cooking class that has more meaning to it than your average one, its really good value for money, and helps the community :)
