Love coming here! Super friendly staff, great food, gluten-free friendly and generally suitable for different dietary requirements / preferences, gets busy in a good way so make a reservation. Look forward to a new menu / new menu items (just 'cause I've eaten there quite often since moving to Ehrenfeld).

The tables are way to close to eachother which makes the whole place stuffy. The food reads better than it tastes. We didn't like the presentation on the small white plates and it was all a bit mushy and not as tasty as the menue suggests and the price asks for.

Try this place out for a weekend brunch. These are really generous portions and they do fill you up a lot. All the dishes we ordered were tasty and delicious. Service was great and it is just a very quaint setup which is a real change to the manicured places that you usually find.

The food is just okay. The atmosphere, service and food presentation are great, however the taste sadly just isn’t at 5 stars. Both dishes were okay on taste but were not spectacular. The shakshouka was a bit bland and needed more spices and veggies, it was mostly tomato soup. While the pita bread with hummus was a bit dry.

Hearty portion sizes and lovely staff.

The experience was unfortunately only okay. I was excited to go because the menu seemed very interesting, but was a little let down. The service was rather slow, it took a good thirty minutes for us to order and receive drinks. The server also forgot our drinks twice - first she came back and asked again what I wanted, and then completely forgot our water until we reminded her. Overall, the food was also only okay. Not bad at all, but not outstanding either, which is disappointing at this price point. The food is already expensive, and we were overcharged for a drink as well. I probably would not dine here again.

Stayed down the street for a few weeks, so I made it my personal mission to try all the pastries. Everything was fresh and yummy. Cappuccinos were frothy and good. I tried the homemade blueberry yogurt as well. Sourdough bread was heavenly. There's always a line for this place, but definitely worth the wait. I think the walnut cinnamon roll was my favorite, next up apple strudel.

Such good quality of pastries!!! I took so many stuff and I was happy with everything. Highly recommend on the cinnamon&Rhubarb one. The coffee is great and the atmosphere. I came on Sunday and there was a kind but it moved super fast :)

One of the best ice lattes. Also all the pastries are so good and fresh. The texture of our raspberry cake was soft on the subdue and crunchy in the outside. I really liked it and I usually don’t like berry cakes mix Def coming back here.

A seriously unreal bakery that if you’re in Köln, living or visiting, you have to go to. The winkel (no diddy) alone is worth the trip!! Great selection of cakes and pastries, the bread is phenomenal and they really nail the coffee that they make. Especially with lovely service and friendly atmosphere that the staff create! It’s a lovely setting, great place to sit, enjoy and watch the world go buy while you enjoy everything that you eat.

Staying in the area for 3 weeks and have probably come here 10 times or more. It's a bustling bakery that can have between 1 person in line ahead of you to 20 (depending on how lucky you are and the time of day you go there). They are efficient, the breakfast-type foods are excellent (see pictures), and the coffee is wonderful. Indoor and outdoor seating provides enough space for those wanting to eat in, even when it's a bit busy, but it seems roughly half take their orders to go. Took a couple photos to give you an idea of the amount of stuff they have on offer. If you're in the area, don't hesitate to come here.

Very cozy and welcoming café. The service was impeccable and the avocado bacon sandwich simply delicious. We weren’t rushed after we finished dining and were able to enjoy a nice round of cards. The lovely interior made it all the more enjoyable. Nothing to add but five stars 🤩

Waited 1:45 hours for a croque Monsieur. Asked for our food three times, they kept saying it takes a long time to make a croque Monsieur. When we almost wanted to leave they said it would take give more minutes. 15 minutes later our food arrived. It was a dry croque with some salad leaves and vinaigrette... Very bad experience overall...

A friend and I stopped in there for a coffee drink and some brunch. They had very good vegan options for coffee and several vegan options for food. We got the vegan plate and it really was enough for two people for a light brunch. The banana bread is grilled and is absolutely amazing. It is light fluffy crunchy on the outside and perfectly delicious. A must have!!

The service was quite slow—I had to call the waitress multiple times just to place my order. The banana bread was average at best; the walnuts weren’t to my taste. For the portion size, I found it overpriced. On a positive note, the outdoor seating is lovely in good weather, and the indoor space has a cozy vibe. However, the coffee was just okay and didn’t stand out.

This cafeteria is a must “GO TO” place. They have amazing vegan and vegetarian food options. The raw cake was super delicious. The vibes are good and it is a nice cosy place! We tried croissants with extra butter and marmalade- give it a try with coffee and you will fall even more in love with this!

A hidden gem in a quiet neighborhood. This place has the warmth of your best friends home. Perfect for breakfast, coffee break or a quick snack. The variety of cakes and sandwiches is big enough to satisfy any customer. I would recommend the raw vegan chocolate cake and the marvelous banana bread! Coffee is also excellent and goes well with the cake. The staff is friendly, nice and welcoming. Five star easy.

The breakfast was really good but they brought the drinks and we had to wait 50 minutes to get the food. By the time they came with the food my friend’s coffee was already cold. I don’t think they should offer the kitchen menu if they don’t have the infrastructure. It’s a shame because the food was excellent and nice portions too.

Only negative part isn’t really the fault of this place, wireless signal is very weak inside and doesn’t have wifi either. Best to keep it at conversation. Which isn’t a bad thing in this day and age. ☺️

Overhyped and overpriced. The brioche was standard gluten-free quality - dry and flavorless. Not sure what all the fuss is about. You can get the same disappointing GF experience elsewhere for half the price.but cake looks good

Love love love. Visiting a foreign county as a celiac is nerve-wracking- until you find the perfect celiac safe place for brunch. The cinnamon bun was so soft and delicious. We also got a couple sandwiches and they were AMAZING. Next time we’re in Cologne, we will be returning. One of the best GF bakeries I’ve been too. They have a full menu and coffee as well. 10/10 recommend.

Some of the best Gluten Free pastries I have ever had! The staff were so super friendly and welcoming as we struggled to choose from the amazing options they had available. Thier coffee was also really good and I was so happy to hear they had GF oat milk for drinks. I would highly recommend and if I ever go back I would be tempted to buy their own made GF granola.

Great breakfast or brunch option with a wide range of breakfast plates. Definitely stay for dessert too. Make sure to book ahead as seating is limited but the ambience is great - not too cramped or busy. Perfect for anyone - gluten free or not.

Nice, small, cosy cafe that do homemade pastries. Unfortunately, we got there nearer to the end of the day, so there weren't many pastries left. However, what we had were nice, though the pastries were a little dry, I'd come back to try the pastries when freshly baked. 😊

Croissant is good but drinks are not so delicious. We ordered orange juice and it tasted more like ginger than orange. Apparently they use the same juicer so the taste and content does get mixed up. So if you are sensitive to taste them you should avoid juices.

This little French-inspired bakery specializes on croissants and related baked goods: think Danish pastries, pain au chocolat, but also savoury variations there of. It’s a welcome new addition to the ‘Agnesviertel’ brunch scene, and shows real potential. The coffee is good and the barista skills getting better everyday, the croissants on the buttery, doughy side nut with delicious variations (incl. Haloumi filled and crud fins), and overall the ingredients are very good, the couple behind it is very sweet and passionate, and one hopes to see this place thrive. There is some strong competition in the ‘Veedel’ and beyond for great coffee and French pastries already. But as a croissant and coffee lover, I hope to see this new place rise to the upper echelons of the established scene. The eye for detail and branding is certainly promising. The interior design is modern, simple, yet stylish. A cozy place to catch-up with friends or get some work done.

Coffee is decent, but pastries are definitely to try! If you like croissants and flaky pastries, it’s worth coming to Goodchild! The location is cosy and instagrammable, but there are not too many sits available.

Hands down the best croissants in Cologne. The coffee is great and compliments the croissants perfectly. A nice array of other pastries such as tarts, brownies, etc. with some fun new things on the weekends. I can’t recommend this place enough to my friends and anyone visiting Cologne. Staff are very friendly, also speak English and are happy to make an iced Americano which can be really hard to find in Germany besides Starbucks. A++ all around.

Highly recommend it! This cafe was recommended by a friend to us. It is a Lovely cafe run by a lovely couple. In Ehrenfeld area this cafe cannot be missed. It has a vibrant jungle exterior wall painting and tropical inspired interior ambiance. Ain says that it is all inspired by Malaysia. Ain and her husband Toby are super friendly and nice. We had a passionfruit cheesecake, a flat white with oats milk and a cappuccino. Everything was so good. Would definitely visit this cafe again whenever in cologne next!

Ain and her husband greet customers with warmth and friendliness. Ain offers a menu of typical and refreshing drinks and food selection. I personally enjoyed the Kukurma Latte, Maracuja cheese cake and Carrot cake. They were excellent. I took home a pack of Malaysian national dish "nasi lemak". I loved it. I highly recommend Ain Cafe 👍👍👍

I cannot tell you how much I love this café. The staff is lovely and you are surrounded by the perfect amount of plants. Not to mention that everything is delicious with plenty of nice vegan delicacies as well.

Absolutely lovely place if you wanna sit outside, catch some last summer light and marvel at this stunning Dom you have in front of you. Delicious coffee with something sweet and memorable. Great breakfast for those who love breakfast. Awesome staff - team is straightforward and very quick to seat you, help you order, bring your order. They mean business here. Two years later I came back again here for the desserts. Place with variety and it offers something exquisite for everyone. Great atmosphere, gorgeous interior design. Ladies, it is a must to go and check out lavatory. So peculiar, true powder room. I went there just to show my other friends how creative it is.

We went there several times when we visited Cologne. The location is just *perfect* directly across from the cathedral. The business breakfast is pretty satisfying, comes with a huge basket of bread. Eggs and bacon were freshly cooked very well. Tried 3 varieties of their cakes, all are delicious. The gooseberry tart is my favorite flavor wise, perfectly balanced sweet and tart. The cheese cream cake is truly something special, I’ve never had a cheesecake like it, not too sweet so it showcases the creaminess.

It’s our third time in Cafe Richard and we absolutely love the place. Location is perfect, just next to the cathedral, in summer you can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view of cathedral. The collection of cakes are also amazing, we tried cheese cream, house cake and the vegan chocolate cake, they all lovely! Perfect place to enjoy the afternoon tea!

Touristy, yet a good place to rest, have sweets and coffee, use the toilet. Be ready to pay €0.80 to use the nice toilet. Cakes look tempting and tasted yummy 👍🏼 Coffee was ok. They also have outdoor seating facing Cologne Cathedral.

i went there at 8.40AM and there’s no one not crowded so i have time to eat breakfast while looking at the beautiful cathedral the cake here is absolutely delicious but the service is only okay, not the best. for breakfast we just have a jam croissant and two eggs which tastes good these two cake i ordered is delicious

First visit was good. Second wasn't. First: apple crumble and coffee. No complaints. Second: cake and coffee. Again, nothing wrong with either BUT the service was awful. The bill came to €16 but they don't accept card payments under €20 and, being a Londoner, I don't carry cash anymore (no warnings given about this anywhere (is this 2025 or 1995!? Didn't expect Germany to be so backward)). Anyway, whatever, I'll just pay €20 and take the €4 change... THIS became a problem. The waitress didn't offer me my €4 change and, when I asked for it, she was very reluctant to give it to me, and turned nasty. Angered, I now insisted and she eventually gave me my change. I had originally intended to leave a €2 tip but, obviously, I no longer felt inclined to. I know that, unlike the UK, where tips are already included in the bill, in Germany, tips are discretionary. I fully intended to leave one but the mean-spirited attitude of the waitress changed that. Very sad.

⭐⭐⭐ 3/5 — Great Breakfast, But Chaotic Service Café Reichard is actually a lovely spot with good breakfast options and excellent pastries. The bread and baked items were fresh and delicious — definitely a highlight. The ambiance is charming and the location is great for a relaxing start to the day. However, the experience was let down by the chaotic service. It was very crowded when we arrived, and there was no clear system — we weren’t sure if we should wait to be seated or just grab a table ourselves. We ended up finding our own table, but then had to wait quite a while before anyone brought us menus. The breakfast menu also wasn’t very intuitive, so it took some time to figure out what was available. Despite the disorganized service, we’d still consider coming back — just hopefully on a quieter day. Bonus tip: check out the toilet — surprisingly interesting and worth a peek!

We had a wonderful late breakfast at Bastian’s with our family. The place is spacious and full of light, creating such a pleasant atmosphere. The service was quick and friendly, and the food was simply amazing - generous portions, fresh ingredients, and the bread was delicious with a perfect crispy crust. So fast serving, the atmosphere is nice and there is so many place, it’s actually a big cafe. Prices is also normal. I try tee latte and it’s warm and creamy and taste very nice.

We were here 2 days in a row for quick breakfast. Food is ok but both servers specifically told me tip is not included, its very rude and not a common practice in germany. Specifically first day, bill was 49.5, I told him 50, he wrote 55. You just serving coffee 10 meters away, its not justified.

We tried pistachio tart and the autumn tart, and pumpkin Latte. Pistachio tart: very smooth and delicious, for pistachio lovers a new favorite , the berry inside it balances out the taste very good The autumn tart: very fresh apricot kompott inside it, the cake bit also very fresh and light. The pumpkin latte: i put the menu here in my photos so no one makes the mistake i did, without looking at their menu i ordered pumpkin latte thinking it contains espresso/coffee. And after i was shocked when the order came, they very kindly made it into a drink of our choice and were very sweet about it. But this was on me cause it clearly says in menu what is inside it. Atmosphere: posh and cute and cozy. I really loved that they had put these small cards so you can read what is inside a tart so you know what you’ll get and it comes exactly as that. Prices: a bit high for the amount of tart you get.

I was looking forward so much to go to this place. Their cakes look amazing and the cafe is so nicely decorated. But sadly, I was pretty disappointed. The dirty chai latte was cold and the cake itself looked great: really little pieces of art. But the taste is sadly not there. It's also expensive so for it to just look great but don't taste great, I don't think it's worth it.

As a cafe lover, this is one of my favourite in Cologne. The selection of cakes reminds me of the colourful small cakes in Italian and French confectionaries. Fast and friendly service. I wish the cakes are smaller so that I can eat 3 to 4 pieces at one go!!! 😁 If you want to give yourself a treat or meet friends over coffee, this is a great venue.

Excellent patisserie options but a bit over priced. I tried macaroons, good mixture of sweet but could be more softer. Tried also special desserts, melting and tasty. I didn’t find it super special in taste but worth trying. Service is bit slow, we literally have to clean our own table and sat outside. Could be improved

The pastries are of excellent quality and I found the taste very well balanced. The coffee (Americano) that I had was also satisfactory. When I visited, it wasn't too busy, and all the employees were super friendly and quick. As others have mentioned, the products are rather pricey, but considering the location, I was fine with that.

BACK TO THE HAPPY 80" An old fashioned, bohemian Cafe', but in a good way. If you like the great traditional cakes of the 80", you probably like this place. Please, don't change anything! Stay exactly like that.

Relict from the past… got myself a strawberry cake for take away just to realise that the fruits were not fresh anymore. I had to throw it away. 😰 Initially, I wanted to enjoy my cake in the cafe itself, but it’s an uninviting atmosphere and everything looks run down. Truly disappointing.

My husband and I were there two days ago and we just found a seat when the blonde waitress came. She said some things in German, but we didn’t understand, so I kindly asked “sorry, what?”. That’s when she started to flip out and asked us (very rudely at that) what we wanted to drink and then made it clear that we should think about it some more. We didn’t know what we wanted, because we didn’t have the time to look at the menu yet. When we decided what we wanted, she passed us many times and came to all the tables around us, except ours. After more than 15 minutes, we decided to leave. Even the other, younger waitress with long brown hair, didn’t come to us. It was really weird, because when we entered, the counter staff kindly greeted us. We couldn’t believe how rude the blonde waitress was to us. We don’t mind waiting when it’s busy, but we’ve never experienced such bad service.

This place needs an urgent overhaul, neither the menu, nor the furniture has changed over the last 20 years. You can get nice cakes and breakfast there, but I'm afraid if the owners don't add a slight touch of modernity to their options, people under 40 might avoid this place in the future. Add more vegetables, some vegan options, poached eggs...you name it. Also, they should replace the furniture, it's long past it's heyday. The service is very friendly, the prices are reasonable, there's a nice terrace and the place is quite charming.

I've visited Cologne several times over the past year, and every café and restaurant I’ve tried has been a pleasant surprise — until now. Wo ist Tom? is the unfortunate exception. The service was shockingly poor, and the staff showed a clear lack of interest in their customers. We waited nearly twenty minutes before someone finally approached us — only to toss a menu onto the table without so much as a glance or a word. When we went up to the counter to speak with someone directly, we were met with visible disdain and contempt. If you're looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a coffee in Cologne, the city has plenty of great options. Just make sure you skip this one.

Cozy and warm atmosphere. Went thee on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty packed. Don't expect a quick service especially if you want to dine in! So it's a nice place to go for a sloooow sunday. My favorite cafe in Cologne. The Omelette is my favorite. 4 eggs, BIG and tasty. For some, it might be too much, if that's the case better sharing it. But a it is a good portion for 1 person.

Great vibe and friendly staff. They had an English language menu which was very helpful - worth looking at the back as to why it’s called ‘where is Tom?’, too. The portions are generous, the prices reasonable and the food delicious. Heads up that you can only use card when the total of the bill is greater than €10.

I went there on a Sunday with my family. Very cute place, it remembered me of my recent trip to France. The service good, very friendly. Just few, 2 of them to take care of all the tables outside. The food very good, but I think for the price you pay it would be better if there was more food on the plate (talking about the breakfast menu). Outside is very nice now in the summer. I would come back.

Seems like a pre-requisite for the employees of this company to be rude. I tried this branch since the downtown one had completely turned me away with their bad customer service and this one has as well. The staff has no patience for someone still learning German and making mistakes. If I’m spending 20 euros for a loaf of bread and 2 small cakes, at least make the customer experience worth it. Plus, this is supposed to be a French bakery, but they have spelling mistakes which the staff also doesn’t care about when pointed out. Too bad!

One of the best places in cologne for all day breakfast, quick lunch as well as buying bakery products and pastries. The long communal tables mean that you will be able to find a seat after a short wait no matter how busy they are. Their coffee is nice and hot. The service is decent, and the food comes fast enough. Totally a place to go again and again. Wish other german bakeries had better coffee?? Epi rocks! 😋 Addendum dec 2023: Loving their Menu du Jour. the goat cheese pasty is really nice. And good coffee as always. I also like the new menu design. March 2024 After trying the Epi in the Breite Straße as well i can compare these two. And rodenkirchen Epi is better.

A very good cafe with delicious french pastries. The coffee is divine!! I was on business in Köln and ate breakfast here. Three mornings I started my day with excellent food and excellent service. I'll be coming back for sure!

Nice Parisian cafe near Atrium hotel. Great butter croissant. They did not have veg sandwiches but they made a fresh one with cheese and tomato in a nice crusty wholemeal mini baguette

Delicious, good price and lovely staff.

The place is small and cozy. The prices are very misleading, and she charged me .50 each time she poured whipped cream 😂 The cakes were pretty flavorless and super dry. The quiche from this picture was the only one we tried. It was good, just again, not seasoned and lacking flavor. Was 4.90€. To me, it's pricey. It was dry too. No sauces or salt to be seen. The drinks were very tasty. Those were the only ones I had no complaints. But for the price, service and flavor overall...I will not come back. There are places way better and more affordable around town that have lots of flavor. I'm glad it was paid with a Groupon. But loll, not the dry and tasteless quiche 😂

Whether you're vegan or you have to have dairy free foods. This is a nice little spot. It's a small dining area, just managed to fit 2 pushchairs inside but you can take away. I had the pistachio and my wife had the cherry cake with an oatmilk latte. Absolutely delicious with super friendly staff.

I was just taken there by my girlfriend and was pleasently surprised! :) Great food and a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and forthcoming. We tried some cake, a hot dog and an cold cocoa with vannila ice cream and were not disappointed. Being non-vegan myself I was very fond of the vegan food I was served and can recommend it - we will visit again! :)

For my birthday I ordered a peanut chocolate cake and it was simply amazing. I have also taken slices from their cakes to go and it is always a good decision. Last time they had mango raw cake that although I was a bit skeptical about it, it was delicious. Plus they are not expensive, considering they are vegan cakes. I highly recommend ordering cakes with them for special occasions.

However, the main course, toasted bread with fried egg, salmon, and salad, took a full 40 minutes to arrive, which felt excessively long, especially as other patrons who arrived after me were served sooner. When I inquired politely about the delay, I was informed that the delay was due to a new staff member. Eventually, the dish arrived, but unfortunately, the bread was not toasted as described on the menu. I pointed this out to another staff member, who kindly relayed my feedback to the kitchen. They initially offered to bring a single toasted slice separately, but I expressed my preference for the dish to be served as stated on the menu—a toasted bread base with the egg and salmon, not a cold egg on a separate piece of toast. This feedback led to my plate being taken back to the kitchen, where I was informed that the bread was indeed toasted (although it clearly was not). This response felt dismissive and left me feeling quite awkward, as if I were in the wrong for mentioning it. There was no acknowledgment of the mistake from management or the kitchen. Ultimately, I was asked to leave, with my drink being complimentary. Constructive feedback on my experience was unfortunately unwelcome. Mistakes happen, but addressing them with understanding and responsibility is essential. I hope the management takes this feedback to heart to improve future customer experiences.

Really sweet caffee in the heart of Venlor Street. Simple and romantic atmosphere. Fresh salads with really light Fruity yummy dressing, and healthy fresh bread. Omlett was heaven in mouth in the morning. Fresh mushrooms and beef bacon was also very tender. Coffee chocolates cake was the highlight, it was so mouthwatering. Last but not least try their Pumpkin spice latte and Chai latte just so good. Give this place a try, you won't regret. Guten Apetit 😋😇

Fresh homemade cakes, and a really good iced chocolate (served with a paper straw 🙂). Bright yet cozy inside, and plenty of plants to help you feel at home. A good spot when you need a sweet boost!

Worth the calories 😜😍😁. Paris feels in Köln. This is where we go when we want something extra special as an indulgence or as a gift for others. The quality and presentation is worth the price. We ordered a special occasion cake a few months ago (easy through email correspondence and flawlessly executed) and have also bought the individual cakes (perfectly packaged for a gift). Service is friendly and it’s clear that the owners are passionate about their pastries. Looking forward to our next visit 😋😋😋.

Some of best coffee I’ve had in numerous visits to the city. The Café has a very relaxed and cosy atmosphere, and the Zimtschnecken were excellent: sweet and more delicate than some, which overpower with cinnamon. If staying near south of the city, this is an excellent choice.

Incredible service and communication. We got our wedding cake from penny cakes and they did not disappoint! We had a beautiful lemon blueberry cake with flower decorations (all vegan). Excellent price also!

My girlfriend and I are both vegan and had heard good things about this bakery, so we decided to check it out. We had a peach crumble, pear crumble, blueberry cupcake, dark chocolate latte, and a latte macchiatio. They also had available several chocolate baked goods, but today the fruit options were calling to us. Everything was great! The woman who helped us was extremely friendly and helpful, and spoke flawless English. If you like coffee and chocolate, I highly recommend the dark chocolate latte, but I'd also happily recommend all of the other things we had. This place is all vegan except they have dairy milk for coffee drinks, and the white chocolate latte also contains dairy. However, I doubt a non-vegan/vegetarian would even realize the food here was vegan. Highly recommended to anyone who likes coffee or sweets!

Cosy little caff with tasty coffee (soja, oat or cow's milk), also diabetic cakes, vegan food etc; nice place after a long stroll with the dog, definitely worth a visit.

Ordered the 3-Empanada menu with the Popeye, curry chicken and cheese empanadas(Uber Eats). The pastry was well cooked, thin and crispy, almost perfect. The chicken empanada had the optimal amount of chicken, spice and the volume of filling in general. The sauce(Chimichurri) was too watery though, which soured the experience a bit overall. The other two empanadas were a quite average, the cheese-ham one being slightly better than the Popeye. Also the packing was quite good, the pricing although, could've been a bit better. Went subsequently again but this time to eat at the café. The freshness and the flavours of the three empanadas (beef, spicy beef and curry chicken) were all very crispy, fresh and better overall. And the coffee which i ordered, an oat milk flat white was proportioned perfectly, was quite aromatic and the bitterness was low but i still enjoyed it nonetheless.

Cute cafe in Köln, specialized with empanadas. They were quite tasty (the hot drinks were good too), and the waiters were super friendly (also very happy to see our dog). We really appreciated the backyard, to profit from the sun without the street noise. Then we stayed a bit longer for cocktails (yeah, day drinking is the big pain of this century) and they were quite average (very alcoholy if you know what I mean). Good place but a bit overpriced still!

the empanadas were okay / good - they lack spices & better dough (they do the spices a lot better with the sauces). but the cafe itself - with it's interior & staff was very inviting & the vibes therefore pleasant. my colleague was a lot happier with his empanadas - so five stars overall.

There weren't many options for breakfast when we went, just a few types of empanadas. We have a child who couldn't eat these, so we had to leave. We were told that the menu has been revised and there will be more options in the coming weeks.

It’s a very cozy place with nice interior and absolutely delicious food 😋 Ours favorite are porridge with nuts and berries (and there’s a lot of nuts and berries!!!), “Andalusian” style breakfast (actually it’s popolar across Spain) - bread with mashed tomato and olive oil, and banana bread. Love it!

A very good place to get Arabic sweets in the region. I like the Naboulsieh and always get some over the weekend, the taste never changed and been delicious all the way. I can certainly recommend this place especially that delicious food is combined with nice and friendly service

Ordered a cake from them for my husband's birthday. It was the WORST BIRTHDAY CAKE I have ever eaten in my life! Firstly, the cream on the cake was uneven. Secondly, the cake was so dry and hard - it looked like those instant cake layers you can get from REWE. The brown sides of the cake was not even trimmed off! Don't bother ordering their poor quality cakes!

A nice cafe with tasty coffees and seasonal drinks, and ample food choices for brekkie or lunch. Enjoyed an oat-milk cappucino and homemade currant-mint-lemonade. Great ambience with plenty of light, and friendly staff. Pretty good wifi too in case you need to get things done.

An amazing cafe with a sweet, cosy atmosphere, with tasty breakfast meals for every tastes! I got there once, and then everyday for the rest of my trip, it was this good I didn't had to search for another place to get something different for breakfast! The coffee is great, so are the waiters and staff, and the service is quick, delicate and efficient! I'd wish for such a perfect coffee spot everywhere I go to! (Don't mind the cheese breakfast plate, I'm a cheese lover!)

I had high hopes for the pasteis de nata. It was good, but would have appreciated if it was heated for a crunchy pastry. Espresso was stellar. The beans are one of our favorites, execution perfect. Ambiance is super trendy, modern and fun. Could easily relax here with my laptop or chatting with friends.

Holm Coffee in Cologne is not so much a café as it is a caffeinated dimension where espresso shots hit harder than Monday mornings. You walk in and instantly feel that someone here really knows their coffee ...not the “Instagram latte art” kind, but the “I will weigh your beans to the milligram because your taste buds deserve precision” kind. The place has that calm, minimalist Nordic vibe that makes you wonder if you should take up poetry or start a sustainable design brand. Every cup feels like it was brewed after a quiet consultation with the coffee gods, possibly on a mountaintop. The staff? Ridiculously friendly. The kind of people who can explain the origin of your beans without making you feel like you’ve just failed a barista certification exam. They will happily answer your questions ... even the awkward “So… what’s the smoothest but also punchiest coffee you’ve got?” kind. And the pastries? Criminally good. They’re the sort of pastries you tell yourself you’ll just “have a bite” of, then suddenly you’re Googling “Holm Coffee pastry calories” like it will undo what just happened. In short, Holm Coffee is the spot where caffeine meets craftsmanship, and your productivity skyrockets .. right after you’ve sat there for an hour staring out the window feeling very cultured.

Went there 3 times for my short visit to Cologne! I love the place and the delicious treats. Staff was really nice and I never felt rushed to leave. I would be taking my time writing in my journal and enjoying my chai latte and cinnamon roll. Really happy to find this place :)

No respect for a customer and their individual needs despite great coffee. Profoundly rigid which at least for me is not professionalism-professionalism is adaptive! We used to come here nearly every day and have a coffee/matcha since years. I have always respected the silly laptop rule, no matter how ridiculous (people work on their phone for hours!). Today I‘ve been asked in 8th month of pregnancy, half an hour before closing to stand up with my warm beverage and squeeze my belly between bunch of people at the window seats because only those places can be used to this purpose. Just for opening my laptop to check something. I am truly disappointed and I wonder how this attitude can be tolerated on a long run. This is conservative-school like atmosphere, rules are rules…I will look for another customer oriented place.

Lovely, delicious cakes & my favorite cinnamon rolls. I regularly use their coffee beans for home brewing and am very satisfied indeed. It can get a little crowed and is maybe not as relaxes as a cafe near a park but still definitely worth a visit.

What a gem! Probably THE best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had! It just melts in your mouth & it’s the perfect amount of sweetness (not too sweet which is perfect). You can really feel that the ingredients are of high quality. I came when they just opened so the cinnamon roll was fresh out of the oven☺️ The owner is super friendly too. She offered me a tiny piece of cookie & it was really delicious. And the interior of the place is really beautiful. Didn’t try their coffee but maybe next time!

After trying this solidly tasty, very reasonably priced Marmorkuechen & Karottenkuechen from Oma liebt dich, there is no going back to the commercial Gluten-free products, or the overpriced and underquality gluten free chain. A hidden treasure from Gluten-free cake lovers in Köln!

As a cheesecake enthusiast, I couldn't resist trying their cheesecake, and I must say it was a delightful surprise. The cheesecake was incredibly creamy with a perfect balance of sweetness.The cozy ambiance added to the experience, making it a place I'll be returning to for more heartwarming treats. If you're a cheesecake lover like me, this is a hidden gem that truly loves you back.

The café does not have many tables but it is cosy, clean and comfortable. The selection of cakes is excellent. My favourite cake was a glazed chocolate mousse with a fruit-flavoured centre. From my experience their shop is ideal when you have visitors and need a selection of cakes for everyone.

It was the worst chai latte I’ve had in a while

Great place to take evening drink. I stop to grab a 0.0% beer. In first place they guy behind the counter was very unpleasant, I waited until by the counter waiting until he come closer but for the question “can ask a questions” he said short -“No”. WhiskeyTangoFoxstrot, LoL xD I just arrived, don’t speak german, and wanna ask a if they offer nonalcoholic drinks. First few minutes the was unpleasantly stressful, but the waitress was helpful, she explained me what I can order and suggested a great bear. I back later, and bring friends with me. The huge dow side for mi is no card payments, and no for about that no where, so I end up in a situation when I had no cash and no option to clear the receipt. I leave without paying (I ordered just 1 0.0% beer waiting for my Rbnb.) and back later with cash. No info from waitress where is nearest cash machine wasn’t helpful either. I googled a one 7min walk away but it tried to charge me €3.95 for windrow €10. There is a cash machines 300yards down the road, literally 2 minutes walk away that doesn’t charge extra for taking a cash, it will be good if the bar service know such details just in case. Overall 4 for me, I was there 3 times, like it and will come back but those issues shall be sorted.

I visited this place while visiting cathedral, it was very close. Sandwichs were really nice. Dessert pastry I tried was good too. There are two cabins and Ques for takeout and eat in . You can also sit out side . Would recommend trying if you are around. A very busy place.

I believe everyone knows that pretzels are one of the most famous and popular German snacks. Therefore, I am trying to taste different pretzels at different shops. Merzenich is one of the most well known brands in Koln, so I was rushing to get one as soon as I arrived Koln. Unfortunately, the taste was bad, the texture was very hard and rough, even worse than those I got from the train stations. Very disappointing!!!

Called in here whilst on holiday. We got a pretzel, a donut, some caramelised croissants and a nougat pretzel. The staff were patient with us and helped us with what some of the items were. The food was fairly nice but there were quite a few wasps in the food cabinets. Outside there is limited seating but we were lucky enough to get a table too. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

More than decent German baked goods at modest prices. Tends to be quite crowded on weekends but the queues move fast. You can tell the sugars are natural because of the bees all over the counters. Located very close to the Gothic Cathedral.

The Berliner doughnut is the best thing on offer. The other pastries we tried were good too. Quick, professional service. The prices were as expected considering the location. There was plenty of seating outside (but the pigeons were so aggressive we didn't stay long).

Attendants treat you bad if you speak English, no clear signs that you can’t use their seating when purchasing to go snacks plus coffee and drinks, attendants tell you to get out of the store even without giving all you paid for (lady and black guy refused to give the cappuccino we paid for). Loved the city and the food but our last day was very upsetting for the treatment we received in this place after multiple days in town.

All breads are freshly baked daily. Smell so good! Can’t resist to eat carbs!

We stopped there for a coffee along with something sweet to eat. Both cakes and the baumkuchen were actually good. Unfortunately when the time turned 20.00, all of a sudden the waiter plus a bald guy from inside the store came out and started stacking chairs loudly asking us to leave. Without any previous notice and we didn't even manage to finish our coffees. Tourists don't have to know the exact hours every shop serves in a foreign country, so you have to let them know IN ADVANCE, BEFORE THEY SIT (when the time is already 19.30) cause maybe they want to go somewhere else. Since you didn't, you can wait 5,10,15 minutes more to finish what we already paid for. Definetely not recommended after all.

Popped in here for a coffee to get out of the rain as the display of cakes and pastries looked so good. Felt a bit too touristy crowd and mainstream for me but that is no surprise given the location. Loved the cathedral shaped sweet that came with my cappuccino. I did take a pastry away with me for later. Was happy to see some basic veggie food options on the menu.

We ordered just coffee and we were satisfied. Moreover, the atmosphere and ambiance were really nice. The workers are very helpful. Location is amazing and the sitting area is very modern and large. Fully recommended

A nice traditional style cafe house in cologne Main Street. You get to choose cake of your choice and then order drinks. They have vast variety of baked goodies as well. Lot of seating options available. Friendly staff and good service.

After having been super disappointed in the previous place we decided to come to this place and enjoy a little break snack. The hot chocolate was dull, I know it’s supposed to be liquid but it taste like it was full of water. The bread bites were awful apart from the tuna one, the smoked salmon felt old, you can see in the picture, the couscous one tasted old too, not just that but the taste was quite bad. My partner and my friend had both a coffee and cheesecakes. They loved every bit of what they had! The things that give this a 3 stars rating from me are the friendliness of the staff, their cakes and how homely this place feels, and looks really nice too! I still recommend this place for the friendliness of the staff and their cakes and chocolates!

Nice and clasic place to have some afternoon treats, especially if you skipped the lunch. The amouse bouche is very nice, you can choose from a lot of types and if you take 3 you get a prossecco glass. :) The cakes arr very nice, traditional and not so sugary but full of flavour. Great service! And don t forget to prder the soup of the day, we tried the white asparagus cream soup and it was delicious! A must visit place in Cologne, for sure!

The pastries, and coffee are great. A lot of tables. However, I was not satiafied with one of the waiter. We ordered 2 cakes to eat at the place, but one of our friend didn't want to drink. The waiter seemed to treat us differently after that.

Coffee is alright, cakes pretty plain with not much taste at least the one I've tried. The biggest con of this place is the service. You might be lucky and be served by a polite and good waiter or very unlucky and be served by a rude and lazy waiter. As I've been in this place two times and we experienced both, our second visit has been spoiled by a bad, rude and lazy waiter. I don't mind leaving a tip for a good service but not for the bad one. Our second waiter did push us to leave a tip and we refused it as we had to wait for her over 20 minutes to bring us a bill - after 15 minutes of waiting we did remind her about us then she started saying something in German to us that didn't sound polite judging her facial expressions.

Well.....NO! you CAN NOT have a mice and the answer is "oh! It's from outside". Well no it's inside! And you have open food ....and your coffee is really bad!

The place was clean and tidy with lots of options, the price was also very low. The service asian lady was very rude with a loud shooting voice. We informed the manager who was very polite and took note of our concerns.

Coffee came from a standard machine, so it tasted like something from a motel breakfast. Very basic, and no options for lactose intolerant people. The dessert was okay, but nothing special. The vibe of the place wasn’t cozy at all.

Was seated for over 10 min, waiter saw me but deliberately ignored me to continue chatting with other customers. The terasse was empty, with only 4 tables taken.

Good bakery, good service. But mediocre coffee. Don't accept cards, that's too bad. Also prices are very unclear, they don't give you prices for cakes, but if you seat they are significantly more expensive than on the display.

These people are too arrogant and rude. Although the cafe located in Innerstat, a touristic place, they insistly refused speaking English. They didn't listen even de simple questions. The cakes are ordinary. I do not reccomend for the tourists

Nostalgia in its purest form. Unfortunately, the quality of the coffee does not match the ambiance at all. If you’re looking for a cozy spot which makes you feel like re-living a bygone era, this is the place to be. Café Wahlen has all the insignia of a traditional German coffee house. For this experience alone, the place deserves a five-star rating. Price/quality ratio is another thing, though. If you fancy a decent coffee, you won’t find it here. In the end, it comes down to balancing expectations and deciding on how much you are willing to compromise for the experience of time travel. Note: They only accept card payments for bills above 20 euros. In this sense very German as well.

Lovely ambience. The service and atmosphere were great. The coffee was nice and reasonably priced. I had the eggs in a glass and they were cooked perfectly with runny centres. Look forward to returning to try the selection of cakes.

Friendly service and very nice decor. Good selection of cakes and chocolate. Hot chocolate was nice. The Wahlen Special dessert were nice but the hot chocolate sauce was not great, not sure if it had alcohol in it which was not identified on the menu. The 2 cake slices we had were unfortunately a bit on the dry side.

The cafe has it's own charm. It feels like traveling back in time 100 years. The lunch menu was fine for 14 Euro. The staff is nice. If you are younger than 40, you will be the youngest person there.
