Cantonese restaurant
Manchinro is a well-established restaurant in Yokohama's Chinatown, offering classic Cantonese cuisine in an elegant traditional Chinese setting. Having been a popular dining spot for over a century, it stands out as one of the most luxurious restaurants in the area. Following a fire that destroyed the original 19th-century establishment, Manchinro was rebuilt to resemble an imperial palace adorned with exquisite traditional Chinese decorations.
Everyone’s favorite Slightly costly but it will meet up to my expectations, yours unknown… RSVP must 2 month ahead Book through their official HP for pre informed booking not confirmed booking.. They will return to you within 5days by call or mail. If not you need to call them back to enquire. For me & some of our locals make advance booking for special occasions or If you don’t mind waiting long que, easy couple hours than try to walk in.. Let my photo answer to your question for ¥5,500 giraffe? Kirin course for lunch This lunch was held approx 3 yrs ago… Light & fine taste Kenton style? Relatively noisy but busy stores are usually like that isn’t it? I would say you are lucky if you got a seat … One of my favorite Kentonese style Chinese restaurant in Yokohama China town.
Utah F — Google review
The atmosphere is hard to rate because while it’s beautiful it betrays the rest of Chinatown being “Chinese” because most of the servers are Japanese however I do understand it’s hard to staff such a large place with only Chinese people. Food was super good I tried multiple dishes, and all were pretty authentic Chinese food. The rooms were beautiful and there were many intricate designs.
Madd I — Google review
There are so many delicious restaurants in China town but this may be my favorite! Everything we ordered came out so incredibly fresh and well cooked. The atmosphere was sophisticated and romantics . The staff is very attentive giving you fresh tea even before your pot was empty. I wish they had a few more dumpling options but everything was amazing.
Shauna N — Google review
Came here due to other reviews, but was extremely disappointed. The food is too sweet by my standards. Perhaps they’re making it for the Japanese palate, but as an ethnic Chinese American, my taste buds were overwhelmed by the amount of sugar they seem to be using. Had the lunch special at 2,800 —the pork and cabbage stir fry and the fried tofu were covered in very sweet soy sauces. The only thing I enjoyed was the ginger chicken. Also ordered the radish cakes and cabbage dim sum. Not the best. Ambiance was beautiful though.
Shane L — Google review
This restaurant was recommended by a friend. Yes, it is rather ornate. But, there was actually too much service. Maybe that is why the prices are rather high. The food lacked a lot. Our soup was rather plain, just noodles, bean sprouts and a bit of pork. The Sweat and Sour pork was not very tasty and the pork pieces were about 1/3 FAT. Later in the day we each had upset stomachs and intestines. This was the first and the last time to go there.
YukoStu — Google review
Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere here. Only waited 5 minutes for a seat on Sunday afternoon. Waiters were friendly and attentive. As others have mentioned, the only downside was the price. Didn’t quite feel like it was worth the money, but I would go back and tell others for try it.
Justin S — Google review
Visited here for Chinese New Year eve dinner. Excellent interior. Service is top notch and the food was really good too. Probably one of the better restaurants in Chinatown. They have a good range of good quality tea as well. Highly recommended.
Jack H — Google review
We visited the two highest rated Cantonese restaurants in Chinatown today. One for lunch and this one for dinner. While our dinner experience was not nearly as good as lunch, this restaurant stands on its own as a good dining option. The restaurant’s first floor dining room is ornate and we were able to enjoy live music while we ate. Service was good, but not friendly. Prices were high, but portions were large. We left happy we tried it, but deciding that we probably wouldn’t be back.

Jukei Hanten is a great place to visit after a day of exploring and indulging in delicious food. They offer beautifully wrapped mooncakes that make for perfect gifts or treats to enjoy later. These sweet cakes are traditionally enjoyed during Chinese holidays and come in various designs and flavors symbolizing different fortunes. Additionally, Jukei Hanten serves Shisen dishes, known as one of the top four Chinese cuisines, originating from the central region of China.
Relatively Quiet hard to find authentic Hotpot in Chinese style? in Japan. Fine taste soup stock, some soup stocks are limited time,.. But still we can enjoy it throughout a year. Direct booking is must, RSVP Jukeihanten is one of restaurant got many branches, … It may be hard to find? Believe to be quite easy to find if you’ve tried to find rose hotel and follow google from there,.. Signature building cannot be missed. Entrance can be through souvenirs stores or from the side,… They got lift / elevator… etc Our photo of dish is altered from original, due to our dietary issues,… All of their staff are friendly and welcoming, if you have any concerns, recommend to issue upfront. We’ve made advance booking plus they’ve arranged private room for us. That can also be found under menu selection / plan… I am not certain but I cannot find their English websites… Check out Yokohama China Town tourist guide as extra info?… If you’ve never tried hot pot before? Give a try, red soup is quite spicy but may detox from daily dietary & white soup to smoothen your digestion for healthier lifestyle,… Many ingredients make up soup stocks,… We always feel to have in cooler days,… We definitely enjoyed their seafood range of ingredients, if you have good appetite,l & budget, highly recommend to order premium deluxe. ¥12,000 But if you’re budgeted like us, we probably add extra by add up to basic, ¥8,000 + Scallops, Minced Shrimp in Bamboo, etc… I believe Jukeihanten’s Chungking HotPot is quite easy to taste for beginners?!… Not too Hot (Spicy), but still you may feel spicy if you are not used to it. Contrast of Spicy Red & Mild White gives rich flavors to your as it may looks simple dish. If you’ve love Japanese Hot Pot & never tried Chinese style,.. I would say definitely a place for a debut.. I should say sorry to people seeing my reviews, I’m too lazy for looking around for similar kinds of HotPot,.. We are kind of settled in with this place, our wonders for Chungking Hot Pot in Japan has already ended here… As long as I live in Japan, I will come here again. I add some screenshots from websites for your ideas,… please use google photos for translation, etc… Photo taken late Feb,… We cannot forget taste & moment we’ve enjoyed that night… Our memory is still fresh as yesterday…

Not worth it. Quality average, the chahan was sticky and flavorless. The dessert a joke, the course menu indicated two types of dessert. We got the simplest almond jelly and a cookie! Check the pic.

My wife and I dined at this Chongqing restaurant in Yokohama. The food was very good. We loved the atmosphere and the variety of dishes to choose from. All dishes were very good, and my favorite is their seafood chili dishes.

This store located inside Yokohama China Town. I didn’t eat at this restaurant, but went to Moon Cake store instead. There are many different types of moon cakes. I have never seen a moon cakes with chestnuts. I enjoyed. If you never tried moon cakes before, you may feel the price is a bit expensive, but this is very densed sweet, so one will be enough.

A bit on the sweet side It's the original Jyukei store, better then the new one across the street in Chinatown Personally, the one in Nishi Azabu is much better If you're looking for casual Chinese is ok but for a true Chinese dining experience, recommend one in NishiAzabu

Introduced by a friend, the mabo tofu was spicy and just right, the gyoza dim sum just right, and so tasty juicy choranpo. So convenient too, right across from police box near entrance of the Yokohama Chinatown strip.

I was disappointed with the Xiao long bao as the restaurant did not provide black vinegar with sliced ginger .. and no chilli sauce too. Chinese jasmine tea came in a cup with no filter too. I had to ask the waitress to change it to a pot. Food and service were average overall . I don't think I will come back to this restaurant again.

Cantonese restaurant
Chinese restaurant
Shatenki is a low-key venue that specializes in Cantonese dumplings, meat dishes, and traditional congee porridge. It is highly recommended for its expertise in rice porridge. Shumien, a Taiwanese restaurant known for its Lu Rou Fan (minced pork rice), and the oldest establishment Manchinro Honten, famous for its dumplings, are also worth visiting.
Shatenki is a must-visit spot in Yokohama Chinatown, especially if you’re a fan of authentic Chinese comfort food. While they’re known for their crispy spring rolls and juicy dumplings, their congee (Chinese rice porridge) is the real hidden gem! The congee is silky, flavorful, and packed with toppings like tender chicken, seafood, or century egg. It’s the perfect dish for a light but satisfying meal, especially on a chilly day or when you just want something warm and soothing. Plus, it’s super affordable, making it a great option for a budget-friendly but delicious meal. The restaurant has a classic, no-frills Chinatown vibe, with friendly service and a lively atmosphere. Whether you’re here for a quick bite or a full meal, Shatenki delivers on taste and value. Check out the photos and see for yourself!

The staff could speak mandarin which was helpful for ordering. The menu was not extensive, but that was the reason why I chose it out of the hundreds of restaurants in Chinatown. They specialize in rice congee and a few dishes and I was fortunate not to have to queue at 2pm. Opted for the crab in ginger sauce (the ginger was a bit strong and most of all the dish was salty) which arrived prepared for easy consumption. The 3-treasure congee was a little too thin for my liking, but it was tasty.
Serene D — Google review
This is my absolute favorite porridge (Okayu) place in Yokohama Chinatown! I always come here when I'm in the area. I always order the Offal Porridge (Motsu-Gayu), and this time I also tried the Shrimp Shumai and the Black Vinegar Sweet and Sour Pork. The Black Vinegar Sweet and Sour Pork was a first for me, but it was incredibly delicious - the black vinegar had a rich umami flavor! Their customer service is wonderful as well. Just a note: they only take reservations for banquets, so you'll have to wait in line for regular dining. Thank you as always! I will definitely be back.
Megumi S — Google review
Mainly a congee restaurant. I went with the salted egg congee and was not disappointed (864 yen taxes in). Cash only. Mandarin speaking staff, efficient service. Small restaurant but easy to find.

Chinese restaurant
Yokohama Daihanten is a retro Chinese restaurant located in the northwest corner of Chinatown. It offers a variety of main Chinese dishes, including Kanton, Shanghai, Shisen, and Pekin styles. Guests can choose between all-you-can-eat or a la carte options. The restaurant is known for its Peking duck, shark fin soup, and dumplings. Additionally, it supplies silky Annin soft serves that have gained a cult following.
Probably the best quality all you can eat I had in Yokohama Chinatown. Everything was really good and cleanliness was on point during this COVID-19 times. Would love to come back again.
Ron T — Google review
We looked all over and determined that we had eaten at the most expensive Chinese buffet in the Yokohama Chinatown area…BUT if you can afford it, don’t let price be the only deciding factor. I recommend this place for the quality of the food. Every dish we tried was awesome and they were endless - so if you like it, order it again. We had various dishes and they all tasted great. The cleanliness of the place is very appreciated. The food came within minutes of order and piping hot. We came just shortly after 11am and were seated right away. We found the service to be excellent. We appreciated the gentleman who came to explain, in alittle English, how to order from the electronic menu. We appreciated his explanation and the time he took to show us the system and the physical menus. The electronic menu does not have English but has tons of pictures, the physical menus and alot of Google translate did the rest. They also have physical menus you can try to correlate the digital ones to. Do not feel overwhelmed, take your time and try a few dishes out - order your usual Chinese meal favorites first. The system allows only 16 dishes to be placed at any one time so order a few, decide some more and order further. You have 2.5hrs in total to eat and enjoy. Ask the servers for hot tea, there’s 5 types of Chinese tea, it is only on the physical menu (the placard type). Did I say you have 2.5hrs for the entire buffet and can have anything on the menu as many times as you want - alcohol is extra although we didn’t have any. Then at the end, order the almond soft serve, you will NOT be disappointed - I believe it is their signature dish. Again, order it as many times as you like. We certainly left much heavier and happier than entering. It’s a busy place but not noisy, no one was talking loudly and if they were having conversation, it was done quietly and volume of speech respectful of other guests; so we read the room and copy. If you are a foreigner to Japan, like us, remember to say your “Arrigatos”and exchange money with both hands. Enjoy!
Sam G — Google review
Here was really good especially of almond ice cream :)
Yukari I — Google review
All signs (in our life) pointed us to this spot to try the famous almond soft serve ice cream in the one night we had in town before boarding a cruise around Japan. We walked in with very little Japanese under our belt and the friendly staff looked at us inquisitively and all I could say (in English) was "ice cream' and they knew exactly what to do. We walked out a couple of minutes later with a soft serve almond ice cream cone and were quite happy with what we had done. Perfectly creamy with a unique almond flavor normally reserved for cookies in a Chinese restaurant. Well, it IS a Chinese restaurant, so that tracks. Glancing at the menu there are lots of options, though limited for vegetarians. The ice cream alone is worth stopping in for a unique and delicious treat if you're in this part of town.

Food comes quickly. No rush atmosphere. Great food. Just don’t expect it to taste like American or Japanese style Chinese food. The soft cream could have been a bit more generous in serving size.

Keitokuchin is a popular restaurant located in Chinatown, known for its unpretentious atmosphere and authentic Sichuan cuisine. The menu features spicy dishes, with the ma-po doufu being a standout recommendation for those seeking an intense culinary experience. Renowned for its very hot and authentic Sichuan flavors, Keitokuchin offers a departure from the milder Japanese version of the dish, providing an adventurous dining experience for enthusiasts of spicy cuisine.
Mabo doufu really hit the spot! I didn't find it excessively hot, but the numbing pepper was just right. Jinjao Roast (beef, peppers and ginger) was also very tasty.

Tasty Sichuan Chinese restaurant with mild to spicy dishes.
Chef T — Google review
Not only does the sansho pepper give a spicy kick that heats up your body, but the meat's delicious flavor is also condensed in this great mapo tofu. It's already popular, and deserves its good reputation. Price is not expensive.
Sean — Google review
Wow, very good Sichuan food. We got a bottle of Shaoshin rice wine and the course menu. The pork and chicken cold appetizers were okay, but the Goya, dumpling and shrimp were amazing. The mapo tofu was excellent and very spicy, although a bit salty. If I come again, I’ll probably order a la carte, but the course is great for special occasions.
Fehmi Y — Google review
Really authentic Sichuan cuisine! I was fully blown away with the Sichuan Pepper mapo tofu! It’s a must try dish, but maybe bring along some friends so share with, the portion is too big for 1 person! And after eating it your tongue will have this tingling numbness, it’s incredible! Try it!

Sad to give a low rating...but...super disappointed...unexpected that chinese food in japan is so bad....went for the 4400/pax course....6 dishes...for an experience...food is.....below average for that price.....1.4k reviews with 4.1 score from google...unexpected bomb..

Visited for lunch. One of the best, if not the best mapo tofu (Sichuan tofu cuisine) in China Town. But be careful if you are a beginner, it’s very spicy. If you like spicy food, a must try. Service and decor, nothing special. Clean though. Stands on one of the side streets. Be sure to use the map to reach the place.

It's 陳マーボ豆腐 taste of authentic szechuan flavor but the spiciness was too overwhelming that has destroy the umami taste from the pork, what is left is spiciness and tinginess. 陳健一 version is way more balance in the spiciness and umami flavor as a whole.

The service was incredible, I really enjoyed the table roundabout and the idea of sharing was great That is what I would have said, the food was good and everything but the entire evening was spoiled by the fact the waiters were bugging us to make good reviews for cokes and treats...

We had the 3380 yen/adult and 1870/kid menu for dinner. You can order anything on the menu but you can’t waste food. We ordered so many dishes and everyone was super full. Quoted from my six year old kid: The special fried rice was very delicious and the deep fried mini bun was also delicious with condensed milk and the char siu was extremely delicious and the ice cream was also delicious.
Lori S — Google review
Came to the store as a group visiting Japan. Servers yelled at our tour guide over minor confusion. Tensions within the restaurant had risen within the first 10 minutes and led to a negative atmosphere. The food is good and the service is good if you like being degraded.
Azure N — Google review
I visited Tokyo with a group of my students and the wait staff was not accomodating. They yelled at our tour guide and translator (who is Japanese) and was not courteous to our students. Plus, the food was not the best. We are a diverse group (ranging from Caucasian, Hispanic, Black, and Caribbean) and we definitely got stares!
Celina L — Google review
If I could give zero stars I would! This place is misleading and charges expensive amounts for not good quality food. We ordered peking duck half and it was only 8 pieces of SKIN with zero meat, in English menu it wasn’t specified that it will be only skin. Everywhere else peking duck is with meat not just skin. The worst part is that we were charged for said skin 4500¥ before tax which is crazy amount, I could have gourmet food for that price in Tokyo, it shouldn’t the more than 1000-2000¥. They started to make our peking duck pancakes and before we realised and could ask or send the dish back it was ready. They didn’t want to take it back and it wasn’t made properly either. The staff tried to argue with me and came across hostile and was not polite as people in Japan always are. Not recommend don’t throw your money here.

Shimon Syurō is a well-established Chinese restaurant located just a 5-minute walk from Motomachi-Chukagai Station. Since its opening 32 years ago, it has been a favorite among locals for its Cantonese dishes featuring shrimp, abalone, and pork belly. The restaurant is known for its original dishes made with seasonal ingredients, particularly seafood.
All the food we had was so tasty and delicious! We even had a 2nd helping of the fried rice! We had desserts too! Good thing we reserved beforehand, as we’re a big group and we were seated in a big round table. The service was fine, but since we had a lot of orders, they wanted us to hurry in eating some dishes, which was understandable since there’s no space or food might get cold and they just wanted us to have the best meal. Overall, we were glad we found this place! Price was fine too. We left the place with full happy bellies.

Ordered fried seafood noodles but tasted bland and was cold. Shrimps weren’t cooked. Ordered gyoza dumplings but the waitress said it’ll take 30 minutes to cook and seemed annoyed we ordered so we didn’t order .

Saw this place on TikTok and decided to try it. It was full so it’s better to reserve it beforehand especially during the weekend. Food was okay and staffs are friendly. The crispy pork belly was not crispy.
Saintella G — Google review
Food was cold lukewarm and the dishes had no wok hei. Char sui was chewy and the fried roll was burnt just look at the photos. As for the Peking duck oh man I thought I was chewing on a rubber band it was tough to eat. As far as the dim sum it’s done in a factory I can tell it was previously frozen. I don’t know how this place ended up on any list
C C — Google review
Very disappointing service! Avoid at all costs! Not welcoming (probably we are tourists) and basically very slow service. We waited at least 15mins between courses. First course was a starter (prawns with mango sauce croquets) was simply disgusting as the prawns were foul smelling! We sent back saying we do not like it, the waiter simply took it away without saying a single word, no questioning, nothing. Then we waited for almost 20mins for our mains (black bean sauce beef, aubergine pot and pork belly). When I complaint that their service was very slow, the waiter just replied that it was a busy hours (there were 3 empty tables next to us!) and walked away without any apology. After the first main dish came, we had to wait for another 15mins for the next two dishes. By the time the 2nd and 3rd dishes came our steam rice had gone cold. The 3 main courses were of good taste to give back some credit to the chef. We paid 7000 for the lunch (we only drank a pot of Chinese oolong tea) which we thought it was way overpriced for the very small portion (eg, the first diah had only 5 tiny pieces of beef!). Most unhappy was not even a word of "thank you" after paying the bill! Simply terrible! Avoid, avoid and avoid!

If you're on the hunt for a vibrant dining experience in Chinatown, look no further than Shichifuku. This lively eatery specializes in all-you-can-eat Chinese cuisine, offering two enticing options: a regular course featuring an impressive 130 items and a dim sum course with 65 delectable choices. The made-to-order style ensures that each dish is fresh and satisfying, particularly their generous portions of rice and noodle dishes.
The food was very good! The xia long bao is definitely a must try! The gyozas too. Very good overall, the price for all the food you get to try and the time limit is very good and fair. This is my favorite restaurant in china town for sure 😊

Found this restaurant online with great reviews, so we decided to come try it ourselves. It's not located on the main roads but ain't difficult to locate. Waitress was patient with us and explained the options available for us: Ala Carte or Eat All We Can (2hrs max). Went for the EAWC option and we were all soooooo bloated! Food was great, authentic Chinese style of cooking, serving was quick, price was very reasonable too! Highly recommended!

One of the best eat-all-you-can Chinese food in Motomachi Chukagai! I especially love the ebi mayo and black vinegar sweet and sour pork!

The food is actually good, and they have different types of Dim Sum no only pork, but also chicken, seafood. Overall the staff was friendly and explained everything nicely🤗. We ordered the Shrimp Shiao Long Bao, Chicken Spring Roll and Wonton Noodles all of them turned out to be perfectly seasoned☝🏼, tasty and fulfilling. I would recommend going here if craving Chinese Dim Sum and some good authentic Chinese food.👌🏻🥡

Great little spot in Yokohama Chinatown. My wife and I opted for the Dim Sum buffet and loved it. Small portions but it’s unlimited. It was about ¥2600 per person for the small buffet (which had plenty of options). We had free WiFi and little desserts. Would recommend this place.

Food was very tasty and reminds me of HK flavors. Food was not oily at all. Very well prepared. Very friendly staff. Very quaint place, very quiet. We will come back and we recommend this place. Seems popular with local sports figures.

(Translated by Google) It's been over 10 years since my last visit to Chinatown. My old favorite restaurant was closed, so I was walking around and I was drawn to this restaurant. The restaurant is full of signs and has a sense of history. I ordered something like a drinking set (?) I ordered a draft beer and gyoza, and I was amazed. I never thought I'd find gyoza that would rank in my "gyoza ranking" at a restaurant I just wandered into. The boiled gyoza and spring rolls were also excellent, and everything from the green onion soba to the fried rice to the mixed soba was so delicious that I was surprised. (I ate too much lol) I'll definitely make this my regular place. Actually, I'll go again tomorrow It was really delicious Oh. The proprietress's personality is also the best.

(Translated by Google) This restaurant is close to the stadium, so it seems to be frequented by many customers. Today, the first floor was full, so we went to the tatami room on the second floor, which can accommodate a few people and has a nostalgic, Japanese feel that is very relaxing. For the meal, we ordered fried rice topped with Chinese-style braised pork with a star anise flavor, and a mini wonton set. It was delicious Chinese food that suits the Japanese palate rather than authentic Chinese cuisine. The prices are also reasonable, which is a great thing about this restaurant. Thank you for the meal 😋 (Original)

I went for lunch, and the seasoning was suited to Japanese tastes and very easy to eat. It's neither spicy nor smelly, so I think you'll have no problem eating whatever you order. And as of September 2025, lunch prices are reasonable. Reservations are not required for lunch, but they are required on weekend nights. The thing that surprised me most about lunch was that, for a Chinese restaurant, they promote curry for some reason. I tried the mini curry set, but it was pretty average. The seasoning reminded me of the big cafeterias of the Showa era, and maybe it's promoted because of nostalgia, but I didn't understand the appeal. The chunky vegetables were nice, though.

Yokohama Chinatown Kakin Hanten is a Chinese restaurant located in Yokohama Chinatown, known for its specialized Cantonese cuisine menu. The venue stands out by offering a variety of fresh seafood options such as noodles and dumplings alongside meat-heavy dishes. Moreover, it provides an event space suitable for private functions. The restaurant emphasizes the lighter side of Cantonese cuisine, particularly focusing on fresh seafood dishes to cater to diverse preferences.

In despair after yesterday’s awful lunch, we came back to Chinatown and to this place and we hit the jackpot. This place offers authentic Cantonese and some Beijing cuisine. The fried rice and stir fried pea shoots are on game. Snow peas were great—fried with lup cheong (Chinese sausage). They also offer xiao long bao (Shanghai soup dumplings). It’s all you can eat with a separate charge for all you can drink—cola and oolong tea.

Sorry I don’t have any pictures. This was a family meal and I forgot to take more after we started. The place is down a quieter street in Yokohama’s Chinatown. The food was good and what you would expect from a Japanese style Chinese restaurant. Some dishes were good like ebi chili and XLB. The veggies were fresh and tasty. The highball was strong but late! Private Room upstairs as well. Average but I learned to appreciate Japanese style Chinese food.

(Translated by Google) Perhaps because it is a little outside the main Chinatown, we were able to get in without waiting even though it was before 1pm on a Saturday. They don't take reservations. As everyone has described, it seems that there is a fish shop next door. The seafood itself is relatively delicious. I ordered mainly recommended dishes, and the seafood stew soba had a good seafood flavor, but the noodles were soft because they were stewed, and the butter felt too heavy for me. The soft shell was chewy. The shrimp spring rolls contained not only minced fish but also shaped shrimp. There are no small dishes for the a la carte dishes, so if there are two of you, you can't order a lot of different dishes. It would be nice if they offered small dishes. Next time I would like to try a dish that is not recommended.

I was the third customer without a reservation, but I was able to get in right away. Wait Time: 15 minutes before opening. Impressions: It was as delicious as its reputation suggests (no surprise there). Fried Salt and Pepper Squid: It was a spear squid with roe. Deep-fried, plump spear squid. Absolutely delicious!!! Fried Soft-Shell Crab: It was a small crab, but the flavor and texture of the crab made it a blast. This was also delicious. Seafood Black Fried Rice: It was excellent. The shrimp and all the seafood were tender and had a rich flavor. I was amazed at how much difference using raw ingredients can make! Seafood Stew Soba: This is a dish that Amano from Kyaeen recommended. The broth permeates the dish, giving it a rich flavor. The shrimp had a rich flavor, completely different from anything I'd ever tasted before. After entering the restaurant, I waited about 30 minutes for my first meal to arrive. It seemed like they only prepared the same dish once a group of orders had been placed. However, once it arrived, it was so delicious that it was worth the wait. There aren't many seats, so I recommend making a reservation. Additional Photos Hokkigai: Rich flavor with a strong dashi broth, fresh and tender hokkigai. A dish I'll order every time. Oyster Teppanyaki: First of all, I was surprised by the size of the oysters! (They're already on the small side.) I'm not sure if the dark sauce is soy sauce-based or something, but it's delicious. I kept the leftover sauce and poured it over fried rice, which was also delicious! Bairan Shuka is a culinary gem renowned for its signature dish, Bairan Yakisoba, which has been perfected over an impressive 27 years. This beloved restaurant serves up to 5,000 orders of this crispy yakisoba daily, featuring a rich sauce brimming with pork, bean sprouts, and onions. While the ambiance may feel slightly vintage, the flavors are anything but outdated; each dish is seasoned to perfection.
Directed by an article to"Bairan," this is one of four restaurants called that in Chinatown. The dumplings were prepared perfectly a crispy bottoms and soft top. The Bairan is a wonderful dish of crispy fried pasta and wonderful filling (we had the vegetable). The shrimp in chili sauce was unremarkable.

Mandarin restaurant
Saikoushinkan is a popular Cantonese restaurant known for its classic fare, including dim sum and desserts, served across multiple floors. The establishment offers authentic Cantonese cuisine that is well-received by locals. While the dishes are generally good and comparable to those found in China, they can be a bit pricey. Ordering off the menu is recommended for a more cost-effective experience.
The staffs are polite and friendly. Fried rice tastes great. Very clean and beautiful restaurant.
Joey T — Google review
The dishes were mostly good and tasted authentic and similar to what I’m used to (Cantonese style dim sum), definitely better than the multiple all-you-can-eat places around. Of course, this was on the pricier side, but honestly it wasn’t too bad. We decided to order off the menu instead of going for one of the courses. If you know what you like, it’s definitely more worth it to just order the items that you want. The course included other things like cabbage rolls and fried rice which we weren’t interested in. We ended up spending less than half of what we would have spent for the course! There were quite a few people even on a week day afternoon, but the online reservation is fairly easy and hassle free.

Disappointed. Less than expectation. Cannot understand how its scored so high in Tabelog. Nothing special or unique. 3,800¥ lunch course. It took 20 mins for the fried rice to be served, which was very dried and had no taste... The dessert was the only one I really liked. I recommend that you order what you really want to eat and do not order the course.
H I — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed my meal at the female owned Saikoshinkan, especially the two most popular dishes on their menu, the shrimp cheung fun and fried shrimp roll. The tender fried shrimp roll came with a suggested side of mayonnaise, which I would have never thought of but was a perfect match. The crab chaahan was also delicious. The cheung fun skin melted in my mouth, leaving me to wonder if I should extra and skip dessert. There are several courses to choose from if you’d prefer to leave it up to them as well. (Including a no meat course for pescatarians - however the no meat course includes seafood). The staff were accommodating to my dietary requests, and were able to remove meat from my dishes. The venue is spacious with multiple floors and a gift section next to the entrance. Just a heads up to make a reservation in advance of you may wait up to 40 minutes! -They don’t offer it on the table but if you ask, there is black vinegar you can add to your meals for that extra bit of malty flavoring.

Revisit to Saikoshinkan, a well-renowned Cantonese restaurant in Yokohama, Japan’s Chinatown. Very upscale restaurant with great service and amazing dumplings. The skins were typically very thin with excellent texture and flavor. If there was MsG in the food it was subtle and not really detectable. I especially liked their spin on the thousand year egg -very creamy and no hint of the ammonia flavor I often expect. The Jellyfish was wider and crunchier and quite good. Wonton soup was one of the best I ever had. The broth was delicate but had an intensity from the fish used to make it. Xiao long bao was perfect- the dumpling wrap, the broth, the filling - very squirty but did not disintegrate if you looked at it funny. A couple of unusual dumplings and rice dishes. All in all - comparable in quality to the highest end places in Vancouver , arguably better than LA w a few exceptions. The standout for me was the shrimp wonton soup . Just can’t get it made that well in LA. #Kuishinbo #thefoodietraveler

Their dumplings were fresh and delicious. Had Shiumai, Ha Gao, Fu Cho fried rice, side vegetables etc. All were good! Went there on Saturday at 11:15-ish without a reservation, but able to get a table without waiting. I saw more and more people were coming in, so getting there early and/or making a reservation seemed a good idea. The restaurant installed the transparent separator between tables, and there’s a hand sanitizer as well.

Service is quick and staff are friendly and professional. The Xiao long bao is amazing, one of the best I’ve had. The soup inside is so tasty and the skin is nice and thin. The har gao is great too! They provide new plates for every dish that they serve. The restaurant is also very clean and well spaced out between each tables. As a Cantonese Chinese myself, everything tasted really good and authentic. The only dish that I’d say is not super good would be the Chee cheong fun filled with char siew and prawns. The Chee cheong fun was a bit thick. Other than that, everything is great- the price is reasonable, service is good and the food is great too. I will definitely come back again!

SanTon is a delightful hidden gem tucked away in a quiet alley of Chinatown, perfect for those craving authentic Chinese dumplings. The atmosphere can get bustling during peak hours, leading to a swift dining experience as the staff encourages patrons to enjoy their meal and make way for others waiting outside. Despite the hurried service, the dumplings are undeniably delicious and well worth any wait.
This is a gem of a place nestled in a dark back alley of Chinatown. They whip up some excellent dim sum for those of you with a hankern' for Chinese dumplings. Everything was fast and high quality, and prices are reasonable. Seating is very tight, so don't plan on having a big party here.

Ordered sui-Gyoza , Yaki gyoza, siew mai, shio long po It’s alright, skin is soft not the chewy type which I like. Dumplings are served warm..?or I should say near cold, I can understand it shouldn't be served too hot for dumplings but it's kind of cold when served.. Shio long po skin sticks to the paper or other Shio long po, so be careful when you take it, the soup is gone before it is in your mouth. Ordinary Chinese restaurant, nothing amazing that I will go the second time.

Although the old ladies working there, we’re watching us the entire time, everything that we ordered was absolutely delicious and quite tasty. We ordered a vegetable dish, meat and vegetables dish, fried rice, dim sum, and soup dumplings. Everything was amazing! It’s also a bit off the Main Street so it’s less crowded and people aren’t trying to sell the restaurant to you.

We had boiled and fried dumplings, as well as vegetable dish and chow-mein (fried noodle), which were tasty and portions were satisfying. What we didn't like is there ordering system. You can only order once, and you cannot add orders later. It makes it difficult to order base on how full we are. I would love to have the system changed so that we can add more dishes later when we fill not evough, than ordering too little or too much in just one-order system. Something that they can improve better to inprove "service" rating.
Max M — Google review
They only have Japanese menu, no English or Chinese menu (hilarious as this is chinatown). You would have to order by pictures. Wonton soup came quickly but the dumplings came 15 mins later. Dumplings are full size and heavier than gyoza. Food was ok. Bathroom is clean. Cash only.
SuN M — Google review
Very tasty dumplings. When it's busy it can get crowded very quickly and the service is rushed. Keep that in mind when you come in at peak hours. They encourage you to eat and go rather than stick around longer than you need to (they even tell you that you can't order food again after your first order so that others waiting outside can come in and eat). With that said, the dumplings are really good and it's worth the rushed service and the wait in line. Be careful to not order too much, then portions are a bit larger than you would expect. The dumplings are also heavier than the standard Japanese Gyoza.

2 stars for service but 4 stars for flavor. Seems like quite the popular location for casual local groups. Price was a little higher than we've had in other restaurants, coming out to around ¥5000 for 2 with 4 plates and one drink, but it was definitely satisfying and an interesting change of pace from standard Japanese fare. We did have to take about half of the food home since the portions were a bit larger than expected. Also the closing time Friday night was 10pm contrary to the midnight that google has it listed as. Last order was at 9:30pm.

As a Chinese I think the dishes really really normal or not taste even looking well. As a person who used to eat Japanese food I think the dishes taste too salty.

Din Tai Fung Yokohama is a well-known Taiwanese dim sum restaurant located just one minute away from Yokohama station's West exit. The popular chain offers Asian and Chinese cuisine, with a focus on xialongbao. While the food quality is good, some visitors find that it doesn't quite match up to the original Din Tai Fung in Taiwan. Despite this, it remains a popular choice for those craving authentic Taiwanese flavors in Yokohama.
This is highly recommended for everyone visiting Yokohama Takashimaya department store. It is on the 8th floor just on your right from restaurant alley entrance. Just come early like 11am for lunch if you want to avoid traffic of gourmet guests.

Superb Traditional Taiwanese Cuisine. Great value. An embarassment of choices bv the noodles are a must!

I wanted to come here for a while but the Shinjuku’s restaurant is way too packed all the time, for this one in Yokohama we only waited for 5 minutes. But I think it’s a bit overrated.. What we ordered are posted in the pictures. To me, only sholongbo worth ordering, the rest taste just .. meh. Especially the crab chahan, cost 1500 yen something and only comes with a little bit crab and the rice was hard and dry. The rest dishes seem a bit over priced to me too. The mango ice was absolutely delicious though, I don’t know if they take customers who only order dessert but I can total use it as a dessert place next time …

There is always rush especially during the weekends. We had to wait for 1 hour before we were able to get a table. Service was quick and the food is just great. I am fond of Chinese food and this place did not disappoint. The dumplings were soft and juicy. The rice cake is a must try.

The dough was undercooked and too thick at the top. I can't believe I've had better soup dumplings in america. Everything was pretty mid.

Manchinro Tenshinpo is a stylish restaurant known for its carefully presented Chinese dishes and signature dim sum. It offers a great selection of food and dim sum, with impeccable service in a wood-accented space. The restaurant provides an authentic Cantonese experience, complete with the traditional dim sum push cart for morning breakfast. While some may find the taste adjusted to fit Japanese preferences, others appreciate the unique morning breakfast experience available at this location.
I recommend to make a reservation in advance if you wanna go around noon. I’ve been going to this place since I was a kid with my family. This time, we went for lunch and had the ¥3000 course meal. It’s the lowest they have but we enjoyed very much! The service is good and very professional. There is no dress code but I changed my flip flops to heals in my car just so I can enjoy the whole atmosphere.

When we visit Chinatown, we prefer to have a reservation at a sit-down restaurant, so we have tried quite a few in the area, but Manchinro Tenshinpo has to be my favorite! This is due to the combination of delicious food, a beautiful atmosphere and fabulous service!!! First, the food: we ordered from the grand menu and perhaps over-ordered, but did a good job finishing our shared plates because it was delicious. I love the presentation of the dim sum as well. So kawai! There are also some dishes you might not find elsewhere - like jellyfish (so good)! Our food came out a bit at a time so it seemed we always had something new to feast on. The restaurant itself is gorgeous with multiple floors. Tables are spaced far enough apart that you don’t feel crammed. There is also an option for a private room if you have 6 or more in your party. Service was excellent, refilling our drinks and inquiring about our satisfaction. However, our lead server paid special attention to our 2-year old granddaughter. She truly made our granddaughter feel like an honored guest. It was absolutely adorable and added that extra touch to an already fine meal. There were wines to choose from as well which is not always the case with Cantonese dining. Wonderful experience! Make a reservation in advance.

Real China in the heart of Yokohama. Delicious. Not cheap but it is the classic saying you get what you pay for. The highest quality ingredients including the hot tea. No corner cutting. My favorite was the sharkfin dim sum followed by my bok choy with garlic.

Came here for yumcha lunch after the noon rush. Pricey but taste was good. Usual Chinese style service as staff do their best to not be viewed as rude 😂. Portion size had gotten smaller given the recent inflation but it's comparable with other eateries and yumcha prices. Instead of 3 or 4 pieces of steamed items per tray in the older days, it's more 2 items per tray. Dishes were tasty and put together with care. Appreciate the chef and staffs efforts that's gone into the preparation. The restaurant layout and interior are designed to give a finer and comfortable experience with tables spaced apart reasonably and not crammed together to maximize seating. Overall a good and pleasant experience.
Mad B — Google review
The building is beautiful and the private dining rooms look amazing but the dim sum experience was pretty awful. Nothing tasted particularly good and a lot of textures were missing - for example the bean curd skin prawn rolls were soggy and greasy. The dumpling wrappers were way too thick as well. Maybe they have a good banquet menu? The staff were faultless and lots of tea re-fills - shame the food let's the place down.
Jodie A — Google review
Overpriced and low quality food compared to the rest of Yokohama china town. We should have known when we arrived at 11:30 and it was empty. The dumpling skins we all too thick and stodgy. My wife thought they were not made on the premises. The best part was the cool building and nice interiors.

Great service, nice atmosphere and scrumptious food. It's regarded as one of the best in Yokohama Chinatown and I've never had reason to doubt it. That kind of quality doesn't come cheap though. Bring your yennies and enjoy! We typically order from the dimsum menu and have always enjoyed. The bigger dishes are a go to.

Had a family lunch here and made reservation prior. We were put in a nice semi private room which is great when having an active 2 year old running around. Good selection of food and dimsum and the service reminded me of some of the nicer restaurants I’ve seen in China. Food itself is decent but probably adjusted to the taste to fit the Japanese. Highly recommend making reservations if you have a big group or wanting to use the private rooms. Great for family meals, meals with customers or just with friends. Will be coming back again.

The hostess is known for her cheerful demeanor and also offers sightseeing tips to enhance the overall experience.
In March my husband chose this restaurant because of the reviews and the fact it didn't seem intimidating for non-Japanese speaking tourists. The server greeted us at the front with English right as it opened. English menu offered. The server was very attentive, especially with filling my water glass and was also very friendly! The food seemed authentic and was tasty. We split a set menu, so we didn't exactly know what we were ordering, but was able to ask the server. The food came out in multiple courses which was fun. Tried jelly fish, which was a first. Surprisingly tasty. I promised I would write a review. Thank you for the fun experience!

Very noisy, not very friendly, the staff yells in Chinese. The table was dirty. Also the chopsticks and glasses. They didn’t bring everything we ordered and made us pay more than expected after also forcing us to buy drinks. The food wasn’t bad but I won’t go back and you probably shouldn’t go either. PS: only cash. A shame in 2023.

All you can dimsum on the second floor is about 30 bucks per person Pretty decent, I'm not too convinced it's completely worth the price but I didn't feel like my money was wasted. You order with the tablet and they do have english subtitles on the bottom, which makes it easy for non-japanese speakers like myself. If you think of standard dimsum menu they probably have it. Xialongbao, shumai, shrimp dumplings, some soup menus, sticky rice, etc. On the side they have sitr fry noodles and some side dishes as well. They do have about 4 kinds of dessert in the fridge, jellies, puddings type of stuff.

I passed by this place a few times, always a line, I decided to go with my brother one day, waited about 20mins even at 2:30pm, food was nice, it comes within 2-3mins after I order it on the screen, unlimited drinks and desserts too, however a little pricy for me, I'll be more likely to repeat if it was like 2000yen instead of 2800yen, there are tons of other restaurants in that area too,
Vincent C — Google review
All you can eat dim sum on 2nd floor. Adult price was about 3000 yen per person. Touch screen ordering style. Fast service and polite waiters. There was an open buffet for some noodles, rice, soup, fried chicken, mabotofu, and desserts. 2 seater table is a little small. Food always comes in 2. Blankets are provided if you get a little chilly.
Jessica I — Google review
All you can eat Chinese dumplings for a fair price. They have a vast choice and the taste was legit. Avoid going during weekends or national holidays if you don’t like waiting.
Sofia B — Google review
Possibly the worst Dim Sum I’ve ever had. Almost everything tasted like it had been made hours before and had been sitting since then. The boiled dumplings were tasteless. The shrimp ball dumplings chewy. And the fillings almost all tasted like low quality filler. The buffet mabu-tofu was also one of the worst I’ve ever had, and the ebi-chilli tasted partially of ketchup with ebi the texture of quorn. If you want something that tastes as good as the dim sum in HK, skip these all you can eat places and go to Manchinro or another pay as you go place where the food is at least fresh. Frozen dim sum from the supermarket tastes better.

Never again. As we made reservation, we have to spend 3,000each on food. First dish was shark fin soup which had a bug. While we are waiting for the new soup they brought fried rice and followed fried eggplant. And the last was dim sum! Why dim sum is the last dish??? So we had to eat rice when we had beer. They gave us a pot of tea for apologizing even we ordered another pot of tea already ahead. Fried rice and eggplant were so oily and sweet. Everything was wrong and so disappointed.

生煎馒s were surprisingly really good. Meat filling was juicy and savoury. Skin was also adequately thin, with the bottom being nice and crisp. Be sure to poke a hole to let some of the steam escape before eating so as not to scald yourself.

Ventured into the heart of Yokohama's Chinatown with a hankering for Chinese food and stumbled upon this delightful dumpling spot. The setup is akin to street food, sans seating, so be prepared to enjoy your meal standing by the sidewalk. Juggling the plate while navigating the steaming hot dumplings proved to be a bit of a balancing act, but it was all part of the fun. The dumplings themselves were a treat – I opted for the three flavors set, featuring 2 dumplings per flavor, and each one was a hit. The flavors were spot on, capturing the essence of authentic Chinese dumplings beautifully. Despite the slight inconvenience of the no-seating arrangement, the quality of the dumplings more than made up for it.

JAN 2025 The store and the surrounding area was very busy, waited in line for about 10 minutes to order which was not bad. Tried the steamed xiao long bao (soup dumpling) as well as the mix set of pan-fried dumplings. The steamed soup dumplings were served warm so I was able to eat them in one bite which was convenient as street food, but it will most likely taste better in a restaurant served hot with some vinegar and soy sauce. The pan-fried dumplings on the other hand was served piping hot and you can try all three types of fillings from the mix set which includes pork, vegetable and shark fin (seafood flavor). They were all tasty; the base was crispy and has a nice chewy skin encasing a good amount of filling and soup.

Not the cheapest on the street but one with the best combination of 3 different favour at reasonable price. Choose this shop over the multiple competitors because it is one of the more famous store in the area. Many options to choose from . I choose the fried steam soup dumplings because it's rather unique. Crispy at it's bottom and juicy inside. Bite the wrong way and hot lard start busting all direction. The way to do it right is to create a hole on the soft top , drink the soup then eat the rest. I know you could not walk and eat on Japanese street (culture wise) I did not see any seating either. There was some old sign to forbid eating in store due to Covid . I stand outside the shop and finish it all although I see native dining in .

Chanced upon this place during my visit to Yokohama. Ordered their famous Xiao long Bao and soup dumplings and seafood fried rice along with fried Mapo tofu. Seafood fried rice is pretty standard and nothing to shout about. The dumplings are pretty tasty and the hot soup oozing out of the dumplings is just right for a cold day. Personally I would prefer the mapo tofu to be spicier but well this is Japanese style. Services wise, it’s average but decent.

The food was SO BAD! We ordered the 8 pack of soup dumplings which came with 4 soup dumplings and 4 other ones which weren’t on the photo. A bit confused at first but went with it. The lady who served us clearly just didn’t want to be there, was pretty rude but oh well, life goes on. The soup dumplings were stodgy on top, the meat was flakey and hardly anything in it and the outside part was powdery. I’ve tried so many as it’s my favourite dish but this had got to be the worst. Wouldn’t recommend it. Go somewhere else on the road.

This is a very special 5 stars Chinese Restaurant inside a 5 stars hotel . The service is very good . We had IHG food & beverage credits that were going to expire soon, so since we were staying at the Intercontinental Yokohama Grand, we decided to try this restaurant on the 31st floor. The good: outstanding view of the harbor and attentive service The bad: the food was nowhere near as good as the view. The soup was lukewarm and overly salted. The Peking Duck was cold. The crab fried rice was cooked near crab meat, but very little made it into the dish and it was not very warm. The fried crab claw was good. In short, if you have F&B credits to burn, sure, it’s better than losing the credits. If you’re paying on your own, avoid.

Worst Chinese food of all the 200 or more Chinese restaurants I have ever been to. Poor service too - brought just 2 menus to us for our table of 5 even though the restaurant was almost empty. As the host I was not even offered a menu. Have to eat off trays like it is some kind of factory canteen. Glass of sake turned out to be about quarter of a glass - I would have sent it back, but I didn’t want to embarrass my guests. Waitress pushed my tray back into my body to make way for putting down a dish on table. Didn’t even have a mobile card charger so I had to pay bill at a kiosk like it was some small ramen shop. And then they add 13% service charge when service is never added in Japan. Considering we are staying at the hotel and have two rooms here, I would’ve expected so much more from a restaurant in a 5-star hotel like Intercontinental Yokohama Grand

(Translated by Google) I'll never go there again, and I won't use it again. I thought it would be difficult to choose a Chinese restaurant in Yokohama, but I drew the short straw. We had a family gathering. The most expensive lunch course was 10,000 yen, but even 5,000 yen seemed expensive. No, it wasn't the price; the satisfaction level was almost zero. The moment I took a bite of the appetizer, I thought, "Oh no, I messed up." I felt responsible because I was the one who selected the restaurant. The shrimp fritters were far from crispy. The shark fin soup was delicious, but it lacked the flavor of shark fin. The skin on the dim sum platter felt like it had been left for a while after being steamed. It was far from chewy or plump. The braised pork belly and taro were good because they used pork belly with the skin on, but they weren't steamed enough. This dish is one of my specialties, so I was looking forward to it when it was on the menu, but I was disappointed. I'm not saying my version is better, but I think it tastes authentic. The mango pudding for dessert was delicious. This costs 10,000 yen. And the main dish is usually pork, right? 10,000 yen for that. The only reason this restaurant is thriving in Yokohama with this quality is because it's in a hotel; if it were in town, no one would go. The service was also terrible. I reserved a private room, but the fee was 18,000 yen. It was a two-hour restaurant, but even though I made the reservation several months in advance, they only allowed us in from 11:00. Why? Last orders for lunch are at 2:30 PM. Even if they closed at 3:00 PM, it would be impossible for them to take another reservation. We were chatting at a family gathering, rushing around until we were seated, when someone barged in and said, "It's a two-hour restaurant, so please order your drinks first," which forced us to order without even looking at the menu. Then, just before 1:15 PM, they rushed us to leave. That's not the closing time for the government office. If they were to accommodate another group in the afternoon, they would probably have to either clean the place and change over within the time we had paid, or have the other group cover the cost. That's the kind of hospitality establishment it is. Even a establishment like this is thriving. I can't believe it. The name value of a hotel is amazing. This hotel currently has a rating of 4.3, but I wonder who gave it that rating? Perhaps they have a tongue of lead, or their senses have been numbed by the spectacular location.

The best Chinese food we have ever eaten and served by a kind friendly owner. Chef very good. Authentic cooking and in a small very clean simple cosy restaurant on a quiet side street. Very reasonably priced and delicious sweet and sour pork, shrimp in a tomato chilli sauce, mixed fried rice tasty like home cooking. Finely sliced beef and fresh green beans. Highly recommended. We visited after reading a recommendation in Lonely Planet Japan book.

You can certainly find better Chinese restaurant than this one. The once famous "bairan yakisoba" is an omlette style fried noodle but the ingredient is small and not very tasty. Kind of rude service with waitresses speak in their home language assuming that we don't understand their conversation. Web reservation is taken but don't seem to be guaranteed so better to confirm beforehand.

Not bad, but not really anything special. The crispy yakisoba wasn't very crispy and really did not live up to its hype. It was tasty tho. Good service. Just... meh.

(Translated by Google) I was looking forward to lunch at Ume Ran after hearing from an acquaintance that it was casual and delicious. I ordered the set meal since I was there. The yakisoba noodles (I forgot the name, but they are split and the inside is yakisoba noodles) that are synonymous with Ume Ran were also delicious, and the set included shark fin soup, green vegetables, etc. The flavor was strong but not heavy, and although I went there as a group of two women, we were able to finish it all in no time. I have likes and dislikes, and I don't like onions and the mango pudding for dessert, so when I told them, they kindly took out the onions and replaced the mango pudding with almond tofu. The staff were also smiling, and I had a fun and delicious lunch with my friend. Everything was delicious and I would definitely like to go back to this restaurant I recommend it. Douhatsu Chinese Restaurant offers a must-try Hong Kong style egg tart with a custardy filling and flaky dough, available in original, coconut, and milk flavors. The restaurant serves traditional Chinese cuisine that is straightforward and simple yet delicious. The menu features a range of Cantonese dishes from mild to spicy, along with soups. So disappointed. We came to eat a Pekin duck like we did many times in China or other chinatowns in the world. Paid 9,900 yen for just already wrapped only soggy skin inside. Not the crispy duck showed on the picture or in front of the restaurant. Felt totally ripped off.... do not go there!!!!

Arrived China Town late night after a long flight. Really tired and wanted a hot meal. The lady server was warm and welcoming. She explained the menu, surprisingly they had lots of choices. Me & my husband ordered two set meals, the dishes were exceptional great and the price was surprisingly reasonable. The great food and services made our first meal at Yokohama an unforgettable one.

Crispy pork not crispy, they didn't perhaps didn't use the belly even? Roast duck was quite soggy unfortunately. Although hanging the duck outside, I am wondering if it's a frozen one? Anyone who wants to have authentic siu yok / roast duck, I advice to check some other place. Price was not great either, service people where nice though. The other reviewers might not know how it properly should taste. The dinsum option has dropped greatly in variety and it's more a tourist trap.

Being situated in Yokohama's China town would require patience and a hungry stomach to endure the excruciating queue; in the end it's a mediocre experience. A bit expensive in my opinion, service could be better, the "Yakisoba" noodle is tough, most of what we ordered tasted like any other Chinese food you'd get from restaurants in Tokyo.

Nestled in the heart of Yokohama's vibrant Chinatown, Kai'in-kaku is a hidden gem that has been delighting diners since 1936. This veteran restaurant specializes in classic Chinese cuisine, with standout dishes like their house-specialty shumai and succulent pork belly. Known for its rich flavors and traditional recipes, it’s no wonder that this spot attracts a loyal following.
Went in because I saw a lot of older people waiting in line even before the store was open. I had the beef over rice and it was good! Maybe I’ll try the pork belly over rice next time I visit! Everyone was very nice even though I couldn’t read the menu 😅

(Translated by Google) This is a famous restaurant that I have heard countless times that my mother, who passed away five years ago, took me there when she was a child. I didn't have the timing to go to this legendary restaurant, but I made a reservation for the equinox visit in the fall of 2024. Although historic Chinese restaurants in Yokohama Chinatown are on the decline, they are still working hard to carve out their history in this Reiwa era, inheriting the will of their predecessors and the generations before them. Those who know about the past often complain about things like ``the taste has deteriorated compared to the previous generation'' and ``it doesn't have any of the goodness of the time'', but I wonder why. I'm very sorry to those who fall into this category, but no matter how much money you spend to repair it, all humans age equally and various bodily functions deteriorate. If you have presbyopia, you can correct it by wearing glasses, if you have trouble hearing, you can use a hearing aid, if you have trouble hearing, you can choose cool leather shoes, or if heels are too tight, you can choose comfortable flat shoes made of soft fabric that are easy to walk in. Unfortunately, just as our hair and skin deteriorate and our fingertips become unable to move properly, our sense of taste also deteriorates. In other words, we are only taking actions such as denying the taste created by the current store owner in comparison to correcting our memories of ``it was delicious'' and are failing to understand the reality of our own aging and deterioration. Only one person commented, ``If current customers rate the food as delicious, then those are the customers of the future,'' and that's exactly right. I feel even angry at people who say things like, ``I'll never go again,'' in response to their efforts to continue to improve and provide the same aspirations they inherited from their predecessors. Old age comments aside. All the dishes were very delicious. Reservations can only be made from the official website, but since the owner handles everything from cooking to serving, cooking, and accounting all in one operation, only courses are served and the pace of serving is slow. If you don't understand or have a narrow tolerance for this, or if you get upset when your appetite cannot be instantly satisfied, please go to another store. There are only two types of courses, 7,000 yen and 10,000 yen, and the only differences are whether the soup comes with squirrel fin or the noodles with tonporo. I didn't have any attachment to the mackerel fin, but rather had a deep love for the mackerel, so I made a reservation for the 7,000 yen course. Corn soup with egg Dried shrimp: Boiled shrimp in shell Fried abalone fish: Boiled abalone Sailing beef: Stewed beef belly (Special order for soup soba without ingredients) Chargrilled green onion oil stirred noodles: Chilled noodles topped with grilled green onions Dessert: Almond tofu The food is served from the kitchen on the first floor using a dumbwaiter to the pantry on the second floor, and you have to go back and forth between floors, cooking, serving, cooking, deshaping, serving, cooking, etc., so it takes a lot of time. Enjoy your meal in a relaxed manner. I have never been to the ``all-you-can-eat'' restaurants that have proliferated over the past 20 years, but Yokohama Chinatown is home to many famous restaurants that have changed gears or closed down in order to compete and survive. In this context, I would like to express my sincere respect to the owner of the store, who protects the noren with great care even though the taste has changed. Thank you for the meal today.

(Translated by Google) I used it for the first time in a year. Due to various circumstances, there was a sign saying that the original menu could not be served. I think it can't be helped given the situation. However, the beef belly soba I had for the first time in a year had fallen into such a bad taste that I had no doubt that it was Kaiinkaku's beef belly soba. There was no sense of spice overall, and there was no flavor that came from just stirring the noodles. Also, the noodles were a little stretchy, and the meaty texture was really muted. As someone who has been going there for over 30 years, I can only say that I am disappointed. The restaurant was filled with a great service spirit, and I miss the unfriendly atmosphere that makes it the subject of a manga, but it seems that the taste has also become more docile. I was saved by the fact that Xiumai was still alive and well. This was my first time using it after the renovation. I arrived 50 minutes before opening on Sunday, as I had heard that there would be quite a line, but there were already 10 people in line, and I was told that they were doing a trial run, and that only 10 people were allowed in at a time. The round was confirmed. Still, since I was in Chinatown, I really wanted to try the beef belly soba and pork belly rice, so I waited another 50 minutes after the store opened to enter. Since my first visit over 30 years ago, the menu has always been prawn kara, shark fin soup, beef belly buckwheat, and shumai, but with the renovation, the shark fin soup disappeared, and the prawn kara is now a limited edition item, which makes me sad. I did. This day was my second time, but miraculously they had the limited edition tiger prawns left, so I ordered it right away.I took the plunge and ordered beef belly soba, pork belly rice, and shumai, and I ate it all. . The shrimp had the same flavor as before, and I was so impressed that I forgot to take a photo. As the staff at the restaurant said, the sweet and spicy soy sauce with a hint of ginger on top of the rice is delicious. The pork belly rice and shumai also had traditional flavors, and especially when I ate the pork belly rice with the prawn sauce, it was so delicious that I can't even begin to describe how delicious it was. However, the beef belly soba didn't have the punchy spice that it used to have, and the noodles had become soft, making it a bland bowl. The beef belly is also soft and delicious, but it's a shame that the taste has somehow changed to appeal to everyone. Also, the staff has changed completely, and their customer service has never been the same.Whether it's true or not, there's not the slightest trace of what was depicted in a certain cooking manga. On the contrary, they have become eerily polite, and I get the feeling that the management team has been revamped. According to what I hear, he was replaced by the third generation who has a sweet tooth. Since we are doing business with customers, we are always polite, but even the taste has become subdued, so I thought it would be good to be more ferocious.

Ryūmai is a Chinese restaurant located in the underground shopping mall near the west exit of Yokohama Station. Despite its small size, it offers delicious and affordable dishes such as stir-fried Levanilla, dumplings, and fried rice. Customers may experience a short wait due to its popularity, but the value for money makes it worth it. The restaurant's cozy atmosphere and tasty food make it a great dining option, although alcohol service may be limited during certain times.
Unique blend of Chinese and Japanese cuisine. Feels indicative of Yokohama culture. I ordered the gyoza and tantanmen. The gyoza were hot and fresh, packed with fatty pork and flavorful green onion. The tantanmen is a Chinese take on ramen, perhaps closer to the dish's origin than the standard version. It is spicier than Japanese food normally is. But that was a welcome change to my American pallet. The broth is wonderfully nutty. Rich with a distinct sesame flavor. The fresh mung bean sprouts add a crispy, clean complement to the hand made noodles. There was a line, but it only took ~10 minutes to be seated on a Monday evening. It is hard to find though. I only found it on my second try. To do so I got out of Yokohama station at the west exit. Then went north till I reached a intersection with the canal. Look for the "Equinia" entrance next to the Family Mart. Take the stairs to the first basement.

(Translated by Google) I arrived before 11:00 during the Obon holiday season, but since it's a famous restaurant, there was already a line. However, the turnover was fast, so I was able to get in within 20-30 minutes. They ask for your menu in advance, so it's best to decide on it beforehand. The gyoza were some of the best I've ever eaten. The filling was rich with vegetables and a strong ginger flavor. It seems they offer takeout, so I'll buy some on my way home next time. The fried rice was also delicious, exactly what I was looking for. The dandan noodles had a strong sesame flavor. Next time, I'd like to order the sanmamen. The staff had a good view of the entire restaurant and asked for refills of cold water several times. It's rare to see restaurants that notice and accommodate without you having to ask, so it's very appreciated. It seems there aren't any tissues provided. The restaurant is air-conditioned, but it felt hot during my meal, so if you're sensitive to heat, it's a good idea to bring a towel and tissues with you. As a popular restaurant, the food is truly delicious, so I'm prepared to wait in line again.

(Translated by Google) I'm here. It's been a while since I last came. There's usually a line. In fact, a really long line. At lunchtime, the line is completely lined up, all the way to the stairs at the back. Sharing tables is the norm. The food is... Affordable, portions are generous, and tasty, but just average. 1000 yen for wonton noodles and gyoza is a perfect countermeasure to today's rising prices. This ramen shop is a friend to the common man. No wonder people line up. Cash only. No flashiness. But it's delicious. There's usually a line, but if you happen to pass by and there isn't, it's a must-try. There's a restroom right behind it. Dalian is a cozy restaurant with a small entrance but surprisingly spacious inside, featuring two floors. The atmosphere is clean and pleasant, although the portion sizes may be smaller than expected for the price. Despite this, the food receives high praise, particularly the mapo tofu which packs an unexpected heat. Customers recommend trying dishes such as BBQ pork, fried rice, crispy fried dumplings, and mapo tofu sets during lunchtime.
Good experience here. The dumplings are very good as they are juicy and with thin wrap. The price is also very reasonable, unlike many places in the area that over charge as it’s a tourist spot.

Restaurant is much larger than it looks on the outside, with two floors, it’s well spaced out. The atmosphere is nice and clean, however the food portions are pretty small for the price. Since most China town restaurants are family sized portions, we expected a little larger plates. But everything we did try was very good!

Ichiraku is a well-established Chinese restaurant situated in Motomachi-Chukagai. The eatery boasts traditional Chinese cuisine, such as dim sum, soups, and an array of meat and seafood dishes. A standout on their menu is the Sumibiyaki Chashu, which showcases tender domestic pork marinated in a special sauce and expertly grilled over charcoal.
A casual Chinese/dim sum restaurant. Upstairs tables are better suited for business meals or more intimate settings. A la carte and course are available. Tried course meal: all but sweet/sour pork was excellent. Pork was a bit too chewy due to overcooking? Will try a la carte next time.

Although it is a 100 famous store, we entered the store without waiting. - Charcoal-grilled Char Siu 5 pieces 750 yen - Cantonese famous shrimp rolls 1,890 yen - Black soy sauce fried rice 1200 yen - Special “white” tantan noodles 1200 yen The famous chashu pork arrived quickly. It's soft and delicious despite its appearance. There are 9 pieces of fried shrimp rolls, and the texture is crispy and satisfying. This is quite delicious. It seems recommended to eat it with ketchup or sansho salt, but I recommend sansho salt. Fried rice is black fried rice as it says with black soy sauce. Although it contained small scallops, they were perfectly cooked and tasted a little half-cooked. The tandan noodles were easy to eat with a strong sesame flavor and a modest spicy taste, and were delicious. It seems like each person gets one dish, but if you order a little less for the first time, you won't want them to get grumpy and ask you to order more than enough for the number of people. Let’s be honest here. The food was bland with no taste. The Celery dumplings, you just tasted the celery, you were unable to taste the stuffing. We will not be coming back. The only reason why I came here was due to the YouTube video and I wanted to try the celery dumplings. The Food. The fried rice was bland with no taste, it was cold to the touch. It appears that it was made before and sat around for a little bit before being served. The Pork Belly was also bland, however tender. The vegetable dish was probably the most tasteful out of the three. The dumplings were overpowered by the celery and that’s about it. The Service itself could be improved. The first thing we were told when we sat down at the table was to order everything at one time, because there is no second time allowed. The food was delivered when it was sent up from the kitchen, but how long did it sit in the kitchen before it was sent up via a dumbwaiter? As I stated the meal was not hot not even warm which makes you wonder when it was cooked. The Atmosphere. Was okay, but you felt cramped. Overall thoughts/recommendations. The food was not good, no taste, the service left something to be desirable. WE WILL NOT BE BACK NOR RECOMMEND THIS RESTRUANT TO ANYONE.

Saw from tv that the restaurant is really well known for the boiled dumplings and usually there is a long queue. I went in a weekday around noon, and it was not as crowded. The service was not good(kind of expected). I ordered the popular dumplings(10 per plate), and thought to get the thinly sliced dried toufu. I had to borrow the condiment in a jar from table next to me (remember to ask if not given, because that should come with the dumplings) The taste was good but I would say average, definitely not worth lining up for an hour. The price is not tax included, and they accept cash only.

Shandong/Taiwanese people - garlic snow pea sprouts were a good start - but the dumplings and xiao mai (with Japanese-style finely minced pork?) may have been too subtle for my Australian taste and the pastry was too soft for me / I like al dente chewy. Chen Kenichi Mapo Tofu Minatomirai is renowned for its Mapo Tofu, boasting a rich umami flavor coupled with a comforting spiciness. The dish's thickness allows it to coat the palate and provides a delightful contrast to the tender tofu. The accompanying rice complements the tofu perfectly, offering a soft yet slightly firm texture.
This place is owned by one of the original Iron Chefs, if you ever watched the show. I went for lunch and got the ramen set for 1500yen which came with doufu, rice and soup. Incredible. Quite possibly the best noodles I've ever had.
The P — Google review
Mapo Tofu (normal spiciness) is packed with umami flavor yet has a soothing warm spiciness to it, the texture is just thick enough to linger in your mouth and is a great contrast to the softness of the tofu. Rice is soft yet has a bite to it, great compliment to the tofu. Dan Dan Noodle has a nutty umami flavor but I would prefer the texture to be thicker so it can cling to the noodle while eating. Texture of the noodle was average. All in all, I think it is the best Mapo Tofu that I have eaten. If you are a Mapo Tofu fanatic, jot this place down.

I was a bit contemplating to have Chinese food in Japan. But when I saw that it’s an Iron Chef restaurant... I had to make a detour and try it out... surprisingly the 激辛 is not hot spicy but flavourful and Super numbing... if not for having tasted 老干妈 before, it would have be made pretty legit. Beijing Fandian is a renowned Chinese dining establishment in Yokohama, Japan. The restaurant offers set menus featuring delectable Peking duck, dim sum, and fried noodle dishes. Visitors can savor an array of authentic Chinese delicacies such as eggplant soup noodle, kung Pao scallop, xiao long Bao (Shanghai soup dumpling), Shaoxin sake, and almond tofu.
If you're looking for authentic Chinese food in Japan, this restaurant is a must-visit! My wife and I moved to Japan from Singapore a couple of months ago, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a place that serves Chinese cuisine that is 95% similar to what you would get in Beijing, with slight adaptations to suit the local palate (a little sweeter than usual). We highly recommend trying the Eggplant Ramen, which we both loved despite not being fans of eggplant, as well as the Sweet and Sour Iberico Pork and the Almond Pudding for dessert. The portion sizes are very generous, so you definitely get your money's worth. The service is fantastic, and the staff is proficient in Japanese, English, and Chinese. The restaurant is spacious and can accommodate larger groups too. Overall, we had an amazing experience with great food quality, generous portion sizes, and excellent service. We give it a 10/10 rating and will definitely return if we are ever in Yokohama again!

I visited before a baseball game. The restaurant is open from noon without a break, so we were able to enter even at the halfway point of 4:00 pm. The atmosphere was upscale, like a traditional Chinese restaurant. The food was all delicious and my family enjoyed it.

Lunch here was only ok. They forgot one of our orders and brought over the check too early. The sweet and sour chicken had too much sauce and the chicken was very fatty. Pork bun was ok, but not enough filling. The tofu vegetable wraps were the best part. Food at the street vendors is probably the best way to go here!

1) I felt that the portion sizes were too small compared to how they were advertised on the menu. For example, "Medium Size" is said on the menu to feed 4-6 people, so my group of 5 ordered a few medium size dishes. It was definitely not enough food to fill us up. I would say the "Medium" dishes are enough for 1 person, MAYBE 2. 2) The prices are pretty close to US pricing, especially if you consider that you will probably have to order the more expensive "Medium" size dishes to fill up. It's like... 3-4k yen for a medium dish, which is quite pricy in my opinion. 3) I thought that the food was just OK. Part of this is that I didn't get to eat much on account of the small portion sizes. 4) The service staff was pretty sassy and rude to my group. They talked about us behind our backs when we asked whether the dishes we ordered were Medium or Small size in what I would describe as a "can you believe these stupid Americans are asking us whether the serving size is enough for 5 people?" sort of way. It felt disrespectful because we were genuinely unsure whether we had ordered the small or medium size dishes.

This was the first visit to Yoshu Hanten Honten, a Cantonese restaurant. The noodles stood out as of high quality, and overall the food was deemed excellent. Although it is pricey, it is worth trying due to its excellence and appeal. The baked goods featuring Hedgehog designs were particularly impressive. Those who enjoy custard cream should not miss out on trying them and capturing them in photos for social media.
You may be tempted to think that all of the places in Yokohama Chinatown are tourist traps with second rate food. You would be very, very wrong. Yoshu Hanten is fantastic. The food is extremely well cooked and seasoned, the employees are friendly and warm, and the space is gorgeous and clean. The meat mixture is already mixed for you and you learn how to fold the dough for steaming. Overall, a very nice place for a large group and the food was delicious 🤤

This was a first time here for me, and I thought this was an excellent Cantonese restaurant. I didn't try the everything, of course, but I felt the noodles were one of the best quality around there. As the excellence and gorgeous, pricy, but it is a worh to try it. Baked goods figuring Hedgehog were quite impressive for me like as these photos. If you like a custard cream, you should try and take a photo for your SNS ;)

Didn't go inside to eat at the sit down portion but they have a street stall selling various items. I got a steamed pork bun. It tasted pretty good and authentic. Foreign foods in Japan tend to end up tasting a little Japanese, so I was glad this didn't.

I asked the cashier what the difference between the ¥400 and ¥450 meat bun was. She asked if I speak Japanese and I said no. I then tried to ask her the question by pointing at the meat buns and making a shrug 🤷‍♀️. She just copied me. I asked her if she speaks Chinese she said yes, so I asked her in Chinese. She said something that I didn’t understand. So I asked again And then she just said I won’t understand and she doesn’t want to explain. I paid and then I asked for a cup of water. She said the store doesn’t have water. What do you mean no water?? You’re a restaurant! The food took about 6 minutes to come. The only problem really was that there was a place to sit. This business would do a lot better if the staff were more welcoming and if they had water.

Pretty good steamed buns. They seem to sell it more on the size than quality here. The whole street is filled with similar offerings that all look like tourist traps. I would say this is largely the same.

Pork meat steamed buns and Hot Dumplings were too tasty. Spring rolls was not upto the mark. Crowded always with a larger queue, but it moves quick enough. Gift boxes of assorted buns and dumplings were on sale too. A small seating is there inside where you can sit and taste your dumplings. One thing which I hate is that there is no option of buying 2 dumplings alone, its sold as 4 per set which costs 580¥. Cheaper when compared with the nearby stores.

The photo looks totally yummy with all that brown gravy and I was just looking at the point of craving for it. When it arrived it was just a total shock with total disappointment! The gravy was orange...what the shark fin was smelling bad. I’ve had shark fin all at many places and this was the worst! All in all spent ¥8000 for this!?! What a total rip off. Never trust these touristy places again.

(Translated by Google) I used it for lunch. We had the shark fin dim sum set, shark fin dumplings with wings, and fried rice for lunch. All of the freshly prepared dim sum was delicious, but I didn't really feel the presence of shark fin. (It's not a course, so I don't have high expectations.) The gyoza for lunch was delicious with plenty of chives and meat, and the skin was chewy. Unfortunately, the wings were too oily so I avoided them. The fried rice is also a little oily, and overall it's a little heavy on the stomach. If you want to enjoy the shark fin dim sum set as an introduction to shark fin, you should make a reservation and eat the course. I have been eating shark fin in Bangkok Chinatown for decades, but due to the exchange rate, I now think it would be better to eat it in Japan.

This restaurant is popular for its noodle dishes, as its parent company is Manraitei Seimenjo, which was founded in the Taisho era. Among them, the famous Shanghai yakisoba is said to be very popular. This time, I visited in search of such Shanghai yakisoba. I visited at 1:30pm on a weekday. Since it was past lunch time, the restaurant was fairly empty, so we were shown to a table without waiting. I ordered Shanghai yakisoba at Hatsushikantetsu. The first impression of Shanghai Yakisoba is that you will be surprised by the thickness of the noodles! We use extra-thick egg noodles, and the portion is quite filling! The ingredients are very simple: green vegetables and shredded beef. When I immediately picked up the noodles, I found that they were more chewy and chewy than they looked! The seasoning is a slightly sweet flavor mainly based on oyster sauce. Is it somehow close to Fujinomiya Yakisoba? Simple seasoning, simple ingredients. You can feel that they want you to enjoy the full flavor of the noodles without adding anything extra. perhaps. However, the portions are large and the taste is monotonous, so I think it would be better to order a variety of other menu items and share them with several people. I think so. When I sat down, they placed a paper towel and chopsticks on the table and first suggested what alcohol I would like. They didn't offer water. Wow, a highball or lemon sour is 780 yen. 800 yen for a medium-sized bottle is a pretty good price for Yokohama. Stick to my original plan, I ordered the Shanghai fried noodles. The other menu items were also appealing. The finished product was a beautiful brown. The food was simple, but the chewy thick noodles and the sweet and spicy oyster-based Shanghai flavor got a bit boring halfway through, so I ordered a beer to refresh my palate and continue eating. The drinks and menu prices were high, so I thought this restaurant was more aimed at celebrities and tourists, not just local office workers looking for a quick drink. (Translated by Google) Seifuro is a famous restaurant with a nostalgic atmosphere in Yokohama Chinatown. Founded in 1945, this restaurant has been loved by writers such as Shotaro Ikenami, and is famous for its shumai and fried rice. It is a place that is truly like a "textbook of the taste of a long-established restaurant." The specialty fried rice is first surprising in its volume, served in a large bowl. It is light and fluffy, but moist, and the aroma of fragrant chicken oil rises up, stimulating your appetite. The roast pork, shrimp, naruto, green onion, and egg are each cut into small pieces the size of rice grains and blend together in your mouth. This is fried rice that can be used as a side dish. The other main ingredient is the shumai. Inside the soft skin is a sweet meat paste that spreads out. With every bite, a gentle flavor seeps out, so you don't even need mustard soy sauce. When you are concerned about the sweetness, it's just right to add a little to balance it out. Another dish not to be missed is the wonton. The smooth, thin skin is filled with chewy meat, and it goes perfectly with the light soup. It's simple, yet somehow delicious. Here you'll find "straightforward Chinese food" that has been stripped of all unnecessary elements. It's unpretentious, but once you've tried it, you'll never forget it. Seifuro is definitely the real deal.

Toki is a hidden gem located in Yokohama, just off the main path down "Hong Kong Alley." It's a haven for chili lovers and offers authentic Sichuan cuisine. The hot chicken noodles are highly recommended, and the beef noodles and dumplings are also delicious. However, it's not for those who don't enjoy spicy food as even the air is filled with the aroma of chili. The restaurant has limited seating with small tables, so it's best suited for smaller groups.
Serving up no-frill, well-priced delicious Sichuan fare, Toki is a true culinary gem in Yokohama Chinatown. For me, mala soup (Mala Tang) is the star of the show where white fish, beef tendon, beef stomach, and wood ear mushrooms come together in a perfect peppery harmony. Also equally deserving of accolades are their hand-cut noodles, usually cooked to the ideal al dente consistency. I seriously can’t recommend this place enough!

Toki (杜記) is a small but incredibly lively Sichuan restaurant known for its bold flavors and authentic atmosphere. The interior is narrow and always full — you can see the kitchen right behind the counter, hear the sizzle of chili oil, and smell the unmistakable aroma of peppercorns. The menu offers a great variety of classic dishes, from mapo tofu and spicy fried chicken to boiled pork slices in chili broth, shrimp with hot sauce, and handmade dumplings served with fragrant chili oil. Portions are generous, prices reasonable, and the spice level is truly authentic — numbing, aromatic, and satisfying. We tried several dishes, including Sichuan dumplings, mapo tofu, and Sichuan spicy chicken, all bursting with flavor and perfectly balanced between heat and richness. The texture of the ingredients, especially the tofu and tender chicken pieces, showed great attention to detail. It’s not a place for those seeking mild flavors, but if you love real Sichuan cuisine and don’t mind a bit of fire, Toki is absolutely worth visiting.

Tsuruichiya is a down-to-earth restaurant in Yokohama, known for its compact surroundings and delicious ramen dishes. It's conveniently located near JR/Tokyu Toyoko Line/Minatomirai Line West Exit, making it easily accessible. The shop offers highly recommended ramen bowls with large sliced roast pork and flavorful soup, especially catering to those who enjoy spicy or full-meaty options.
The flavors in their ramen are so subtile and rich at the same time, is hard to explain but the umami taste just hits the spot! I tried it 5 years ago and this time around it tasted even better than what I remember, and this is proof of their kaizen (constant improvement) mindset; a true gem in Yokohama, highly recommend!

My First “Iekei” Ramen Experience in Yokohama This was my first time trying authentic Iekei ramen in its birthplace, Yokohama. When I think of Iekei ramen, I usually picture a rich, salty broth that pairs perfectly with a bowl of rice. However, the broth here was creamy and flavorful yet surprisingly easy to drink. Even with my health checkup approaching, I almost ended up finishing the entire bowl! The shop prides itself on its “creamy, rich broth made by carefully simmering domestic pork bones,” and it truly lived up to that claim. The noodles were slightly thinner than typical Iekei ramen noodles, but they complemented the broth perfectly. It may not cater precisely to hardcore Iekei ramen fans, but I personally feel that this is a bowl of ramen anyone can enjoy. The shop is also conveniently located within a 10-minute walk from Yokohama Station and operates 24 hours a day, making it a great option for tourists visiting the area.

If you’re looking for great ramen near Yokohama Station, this is a spot you shouldn’t miss. I was lucky to discover this 24-hour ramen shop, which likely attracts many late-night diners after parties—a sign it must be good. The setup is cozy, with a 10-seat counter and two larger tables in the back. Ordering is simple, thanks to a vending machine with English translations to assist. Interestingly, I didn’t notice many tourists here, which added to the local charm. What stood out was the ability to customize your bowl—you can choose the noodle firmness, soup spiciness, and toppings like bamboo shoots or bean sprouts. I opted for the spicy tonkotsu soup base ramen with chashu and eggs, while a family member chose the non-spicy signature version. I added ground sesame seeds to the broth for extra flavor, which worked wonderfully. The ramen was excellent, and the only thing that could’ve made it better would have been pairing it with a cold beer. The young chefs running the shop did a fantastic job, and I’ll definitely be back!

The ticket machine even takes Suica and has English! This time I tried the cold summer ramen as well, and it was really bright and fresh with a sesame paste soup. They have two big tables in the back perfect for groups. It’s a must hit every time I’m in the area!

The crab meat fried rice was equally delightful, full of flavor and fragrance. The service staff was warm and attentive, graciously offering us complimentary dessert and hot jasmine tea.

One of the worst meals I've ever tried, it was too expensive, the food (Peking duck) was terrible and too little for the price. It felt like we were just ripped off. 9 pieces of duck skin without meat, accompanied by a few side dishes priced at 7000 円

It's terrible. The worst food I've had since coming to Japan. The service was as awful as the food. I was discriminated against. Is it because I'm neither Japanese nor European? The food doesn't even deserve a one-star rating. 😭🤢😵

Fast food restaurant
SARIO Heichinsaryoo China Town is a Chinese fast food restaurant located in China Town. The menu may not be extensive, but it offers enough to satisfy hunger, with the highlight being the freshly steamed Dim sum. The restaurant also provides self-service free water and boasts a good panoramic view from counter stools near the window.
Hello all, we visited today Sario, which is in China Town / Yokahama... We ordered our food from the Muslim Friendly menu, and it was delicious. Definitely great food with warm and welcoming muslim visitors in town... also got a prayer room on the third floor. Overall I am very happy visiting this restaurant today.

The service was great, staff was friendly, the cashier girl was very polite and welcoming. We visited it today and wanted to have these famous chinese dumplings on a bamboo steamer plate, the rice bun stuffed with meat, and that cute panda bun. Well, we ordered everything, as long as they didn't have steamed buns with any other meat except pork, we ordered buns and dumplings with pork to try. Additionally, ordered the ramen with steamed pork. In 10 minutes everything was ready and they served it very unusually, but when we opened the lids, the smell was disgusting. As long as we paid, we wanted to eat, so we tried to not pay attention to the stinky smell, but hell no, it was a waste. We drank our beer, my husband helped me out to eat most of the meal despite he was disgusted of smell. We were thinking maybe chinese food with pork smells like that and didn't want to upset the great staff who were very polite to us. And at home now, we are sick as hell. Hope carbonated water will help to get rid of sickness. Just , please, whatever you were steaming or making, cooking, please, make it less smelly! So , people can enjoy food! Thank you Chinatown! Btw, panda buns might look cute, but not as yummy as it looks)

This restaurant offers 2 Chinese vegan options, the food is very typical, and the restaurant is easy to find, in the middle of China town, is also cheap and the portions are great. Also the staff was nice explaining the options in English.

If you’re looking for muslim friendly food in chinatown Yokohama, i would recommend this restaurant! The restaurant is on the 2nd floor, they also have a prayer space on the 3rd floor. You can ask for styrofoam bowl and cutlery if needed. I went there for lunch and i can also pray dzuhur here
Zahra A — Google review
Halal menu is small: Price is too high for such a small portion. The main dish is about side dish size. In Tokyo, for this price, we got double the portion in a more stylish place. This is equivalent to Yoshonoya fast food. Maybe non-halal menu is much larger, but in conclusion, never again to visit.
Haris G — Google review
Muslim friendly restaurant which has Halal Ramen and Gyoza. There's also a prayer room. The staff was very friendly. Tried the Miso Ramen, Sui Gyoza, Chinese Lychee Tea, and Daifuku; the foods were absolutely delicious!
Saif H — Google review
Amazing! I don’t speak Japanese or Chinese, but the staff was very patient with me when I ordered. I got the vegan bibimbap and jelly dessert, this bibimbap was probably the best vegan dish I’ve ever eaten! I loved it, and the jellies were fun to eat. The iced tea was refreshing too. I will share this place with my friends :)
K — Google review
This shop is at the other end of the street in Chinatown. They have a halal menu upon request. There are more tables and a prayer space at level 3. Ablution can be taken at level 2 toilet. Food wise, normal but it's halal so it's a plus 😁

At 馬さんの店 龍仙, diners can enjoy a delightful dining experience at a cozy Chinese restaurant known for its delectable congee, Shanghai-style dumplings, and succulent duck dishes. The eatery is praised for its affordable prices and delicious flavors, making it a popular choice for those craving authentic Chinese cuisine.
I went this Chinese restaurant for their porridge. It’s reasonable price and tastes good.

Place: quite dirty. Seems like they did not clean for years. Also the paint of the walls have never been repainted, so it looks old and dirty. The kitchen looks super super small and dirty. You just need to have a look into it. Service: not very happy with the service. One of the owners was all the time having serious/unhappy faces, not even saying hello, bye bye or thank you. I don’t know about you, but I like having a nice customer service… On the other hand, as foreigners, the waiter was continuously staring, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable Food: I am super used to Chinese food, so I can talk about tastes. The fried rice was tasteless and the prices were more expensive than the average Also, you cannot pay with credit card. They only accept cash…
J.C.H. — Google review
Poor service, long waiting times for no obvious reason and overpriced food. Been there with three people and it wasnt too crowded (nothing that they shouldn't be able to handle). Meals were served about 30 minutes apart. Rice is extra. Water is not filtered. The service didnt pay attention to us and also others in the restaurant. We paid 50000 Yen for 3 medium sized and "ok" meals... Never again, really sad as we found it in a guide book.
Robert H — Google review
We’re a family of 6 Vietnamese tourists traveling to Japan for a summer holiday. This place was recommended to us by our hotel, and I must say the experience was tragic. The food was mediocre — it wasn’t amazing, but wasn’t horrible. A lot of it was unseasoned and tasted bland, but it was tolerable. However, the experience we had with customer service here was quite unforgettable, in all the worst ways possible. Firstly, we had to wait around 25 minutes to be seated. The restaurant had poor management skills — like why is a guest of 1 sitting at a table for 6 all by himself? And even so, we didn’t mind sitting in 3 pairs of 2s at all the empty tables for 2 but they wouldn’t seat us. It gets worse — when we were in the place, the server kept blatantly ignoring us when we called to order: attending to other tables who came after and walking right past us when we called for them. When they finally took our order, the attitude was unfriendly. Maybe it’s because their service is quick so they do things a little more straightforwardly, but we at least them to be a little nicer?? Like a little smile, as part of customer service decency???? They were literally banging plates and bowls on the table when serving us. The food came out lightning quick, which makes me think that everything was quite likely premade and not fresh. In conclusion, PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. Especially if you’re a tourist and not Japanese, you will feel excluded and will receive nothing but unkindness from the workers here. I would not recommend this place even to my worst enemy.

The waitress attitude was aweful. She might tired but when i asked about are there any valuable set like ramen and fried rice, she just declined and seems like frustrated. Very rude and i was really disappointed. Food are okay but i had to wait more than 30min till it's all served( it was one person okayu set). I don't think i'll come this place again.

Visited here for a late-night dinner after flight. I have ordered a set meal for ¥1600 which has a porridge, fried rice, dim sum platters, beer and a sweet almond soup. Staff looks unfriendly and sometimes disappeared which makes me embarrassed when making order. Food is far from delicious like the porridge is thin, dim sums has no flavor at all…but this is almost the only place opening in Chinatown at late-night.

(Translated by Google) I used it during my break at work. This is Gyoza Ohsho, a short walk from the west exit of Higashi-Kanagawa Station. I visited the place around 5:00 pm on a weekday, and although there were a lot of seats, it was almost full and crowded. The customer base is diverse, including customers eating and drinking alone, customers from overseas, and families, and this time I was guided to a counter seat. This time I ordered the Gyoza Osho Ramen and the Gyoza Just Size. About 10 minutes after ordering, the gyoza king ramen and the just-sized gyoza were served. The gyoza king ramen is rich with back fat floating in the soup. The soy sauce pork bone base has just the right amount of flavor, and the noodles are thin and have a nice texture. The bowl is filled with bean sprouts, green onions, menma, chashu pork, flavored eggs, and seaweed, making it very filling. The gyoza was just the right size, grilled and fragrant, and the filling was firm and juicy. I'm satisfied with the price as it fills my stomach just right. I think this store is easy to use. Thank you for the meal.

(Translated by Google) I stopped in for lunch because I wanted to eat gyoza. This time I ordered the spicy pork ramen and gyoza combination, but the spicy pork ramen wasn't spicy and there weren't many vegetables, which my family and I were a little skeptical about. I added chili oil to the spicy pork ramen to change up the flavor, but the gyoza tasted the same as usual and were delicious. I stopped in for lunch and had pan-fried gyoza, stir-fried offal with spicy miso, and a highball. As expected, it was delicious, and I'll stop by again. Dined there in late May off lunch hour, around 3pm. Food arrived late and cold. Do not recommend it. Price is high for what you get.

Food was decent, however the problem was the old woman who does the service. She scolded the other staff members, checked our plates after every round of all-you-can-eat, forced us to eat whenever there was some left on the plate, was always hasty even though it was not busy, forbid us to order more than 6 dishes per round. Food tasted pretty bad after the horrible service and arguing with her about small things. Other staff members were alright. I advice to check out the reviews first before entering a restaurant. I wouldn’t recommend this one though.

Fake chinese. Paid 20 dollars for 1 dish. Worst ! Service is the worst!
Lee K — Google review
The food was of low quality, given the price. We took a menu, claiming to include Peking duck. This dish is vey misleading, as it was duck skin covering a prawn cracker, without any meat. Other dishes were covered in thick sweet or greasy sauces, masking the taste of the food. The dumplings were ok. Not recommended.

Despite the kind staff, I was not satisfied with this restaurant. The first dish I took was the No.1 noodles with beef, which opposite to their claim was too spicy. I returned and happily did not have to pay for it. The second dish was the duck tea noodles. It was full of Szechuan pepper which would make your mouth fizz. The quality of the duck was also very poor (processed). The price is ok but I do not recommend this place.
Arash R — Google review
20230406 - did a XL size beef noodles. Though what I ordered was normal version, it tasted kind of spicy. I love spicy food so it doesn’t really matter to me, and also this is a “Sichuan” restaurant so such arrangement is understandable to me. However, for whom quite sensitive with spicy taste, please be careful. Sword-cutting noodles and soup taste good. Beef is kind of chewy. In total, this is a restaurant beyond average.
Sean — Google review
This was such a delicious spot to find. Out of all the restaurants in Yokohama China Town, this restaurant has the best noodles (sword noodles?) The food is delicious and the soup broth is very flavorful. The lady didn't like it when we came in. We didn't want to sit at the counter because we knew we were going to eat a lot of food and needed space. She served us and forgot our plates and didn't give us all the side sauces, yet the two tables next to us were served with more care and attention. We were not rude and even made sure to tell them the food was delicious, while asking for our forgotten plates and sauces. In the end, she was smiling at us.
