Conference center
The Maritim Hotel Köln is a top choice in Cologne, offering classic rooms and suites along with a range of amenities. Situated close to popular attractions such as Koelnmesse and Lanxess Arena, the hotel provides direct connections to the Wallraf-Richartz Museum. Guests can enjoy panoramic views of the River Rhine from this centrally located hotel, which features an indoor pool, spa facilities, and a gym.
Very pleasant stay. Location of the hotel very convenient, close to train station, close to the centre and Cathedral. The Room was clean with a fantastic view over the Rhine River and parrots on the trees in the evening and in the morning. And the best breakfast is the best so far to compare with other hotels. Really great choice. The only thing was a bit annoying, waiting time for elevators in the morning (to busy). But if you ok with stairs, that's not a problem, just use staircase.
Irena M — Google review
Nice hotel. Room was fine, good water temp and pressure. Staff were all very friendly. Breakfast buffet was okay, not many warm options so not sure it's worth the cost. Fitness room was tiny, 4 leg/cardio machines, a pulley system and a bench, but only 3 pairs of dumbbells going up to like 3kg. Great location, underground parking. Easy walk to the inner city. 3rd lift was out of order the whole time. Sometimes you will push to go down, an empty lift would arrive, then it would continue going up.
James ( — Google review
A once-beautiful hotel with world-class staff, let down by slightly dated decor, slow lifts and dusty, dirty and stained objects. I'm not sure if the higher-end rooms are kept cleaner or have more recently refurbished interiors, but the entry-level experience was spacious, poorly lit and lacking modern amenities such as easily accessible power sockets or a shower that could maintain a consistent temperature. Still, I enjoyed the Christmas decorations, fantastic location and every interaction with staff. With investment and refurbishment in the rooms, this could once again be a world-class hotel in Cologne.
William J — Google review
It's obviously once been a stunning hotel. Our rooms were clean but had that old hotel smell and the curtains were quite motheaten. The bathrooms are great with even a magnified mirror. I think they are in the process of renovation. If you have a room facing the Dom the views are sensational. The rooftop restaurant is absolutely beautiful, but the menu is a bit strange for us! Prices are reasonable, but we didn't eat there!
Julia L — Google review
Good location and charming building. Checkin was slow and when I got to my room om 6nd floor the door key did not work. Down to reception again and expected quick help but had to wait more than 15 min, terrible. Elevators slow and busy, only 2 of 3 working. Room was ok but outdated. Pool was good and 27 temp. Piano bar was very good and the service was excellent.
Johan S — Google review
I stayed in Cologne for one night on vacation. The hotel is very nice. My room had a view of the Dom. Breakfast was great! They do shut down promptly at 10:30 so don't get there late. The hotel is very convenient to the Altstadt and many of the sights in that area. Also, they have a parking garage under the hotel, which is very nice.
Levi G — Google review
The best location with unexpected poor breakfast service in the world. I just need to get some still water but all their machine broke down without even trying to provide a glass of water and I never realized that how attitude could be like this. One said she didn’t understand with sincere look seems her first day at work and the other older one just walked away without explaining anything but I did ask nicely for three times. And later when the breakfast closing down another dude asking him again getting some water he did explain a little this time anyways very impressive. And of course the breakfast itself is very interesting. Oh can’t miss out mentioning whatever the rooms next to me I can hear their quiet alarm with low volume every hour in the middle of night. It was actually very quiet iPhone alarm but I can hear it so crystal clear. I wonder why.

So… it was our fault. We went on booking.com and booked two rooms for the 21st to the 23rd. We realized two days before the booking that we had booked the wrong month!! We called and begged the hotel directly for there to be any of the money put toward rebooking two rooms for the same dates but the correct month (We understood it was to close to the booking for a refund!). They would not credit us one single euro. They were curt and not kind at the front desk and then when we finally got a reservations person they said they would help us and get back to us but never did. We still need the two rooms but we will be booking those two rooms at another hotel.

Nestled in the heart of Cologne, the Excelsior Hotel Ernst is a stunning family-owned establishment that has been welcoming guests since 1863. This luxurious five-star hotel boasts 137 elegantly designed rooms and suites, ranging from cozy Classic Rooms to opulent Excelsior Suites. Guests can indulge their taste buds at three exquisite restaurants, including the renowned Hanse Stube and the Michelin-starred Taku, which serves delectable East Asian cuisine.
Our stay at Hotel Ernst and Dom was outstanding in every way. The hotel’s location, right by the iconic Cologne Cathedral, made exploring the city incredibly convenient. Our room was both quiet and luxurious, offering a peaceful retreat with elegant touches that made us feel truly pampered. The breakfast each morning was a highlight, with a generous selection of delicious, high-quality options to start the day. The service throughout our stay was impeccable—attentive, friendly, and accommodating. I would highly recommend Hotel Ernst and Dom for anyone seeking a romantic getaway in Cologne.
Basia G — Google review
Staff have been extremely professional and welcoming. The hotel definitely has an old world, classy feel and the location to the rail station cannot be beat. However do not believe the pictures- this is what the rooms look like, I might as well be in Eastern Germany in 1950, not worth the price whatsoever. Update on the review, the shower in my room was incredible, had to be highest pressure shower I have ever had in the world:). I appreciate the follow up from the Hotel, I would love to stay here again and hopefully get a updated room.
Taylor D — Google review
Great service and great location – but with a catch. Some rooms are beautifully renovated and very comfortable, while others still give off more of a hostel vibe. Dear Hotel Excelsior: if you have these lovely renovated rooms available and the hotel isn’t at full capacity, why not let your guests enjoy them? Note: I understand there are different categories, but after all, when you book a “classic room” at a "5-star luxury hotel", you don’t exactly expect to end up in the sequel to Hostel.

We went for dinner last night at Hanse Stube. What an underwhelming experience! At this price point one should expect a great and impeccable service. The restaurant staff were friendly but totally overworked and at times clueless. They were unable to cope with the amount of guests. If such an establishment does not have enough staff just limit the amount of tables to the number you can properly serve. On the bright side the quality of the food was good albeit cold when it arrived. No manager was to be seen and when we asked for one the answer was simple and honest: there is nobody in charge of this place. The bar staff were incredibly rude to round our evening up. The bar had no cream so basic drinks like Irish Coffee etc. were not available. Open supermarket crisp packets were lying around and one could tell that the workers were either brand new here or had never worked at a place near 5stars or both. We left when the “head” bartender became aggressive….The experience felt hollow, a disaster! We will definitely not come back! Piece if advise: find some kind of experienced manager to sort the place out!

Stayed in the Standard Room. Good clean room however its very dated. For the price charged of 370usd per night its simply too expensive. They do offer a free mini bar service which is a plus. Carpet needs an urgent change and its simply not acceptable for this room type to be a 5 star hotel. I have stayed in the past in their Deluxe Rooms and those are modern and very well designed.
Shalin T — Google review
As soon as you arrive, you are treated with the most utmost respect and help. Almost overwhelming. Recommend this hotel and we plan on staying again. The Dom is right across the street and a Kölsch Brewery is next door.
Jason W — Google review
It’s one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever seen 😍 I was there last week with my husband. Although it was a bit noisy due to renovations, the service was wonderful. I loved the dinner at the Hansetube restaurant. The room was modern and very clean, and all the staff were friendly. I will definitely come back again. Thank you
Jona M — Google review
The hotel is large and in a great location, but it’s very crowded. Reaching our room took two elevators and an 8-minute walk. Room service delivery had extra charges unless picked up ourselves. Our first room was a bit dirty and noisy due to construction, and they couldn’t move us until the last night, when we were finally given a better room near the lobby. Service improved by the end. Breakfast selection was limited. I didn’t photograph the first room due to its condition, but I captured the second as it was significantly better.

Steigenberger Hotel Köln is a modern property located in a business district with easy access to transportation links. The hotel offers casual and contemporary rooms, some with views of the city streets. It's conveniently situated near a U-Bahn station, Stadtbahn, and bus stop, making it easy to explore the cultural attractions of Cologne such as the Ludwig Museum and the iconic Cologne Cathedral.
Very clean and comfy hotel, felt very luxurious as well. AC was great and room was so spacious. Good spot in Cologne where most things are nearby or 15ish minutes away walking. Highly recommend. We had a view to the Cologne Cathedral which was beautiful.
Zeinab A — Google review
Very nice hotel with a luxurious feel. Very close to local transit stops, and 20 minute walk to Cologne Cathedral and many museums. Great area for cafes and restaurants. Even a couple of nearby grocery stores. Our Superior King room had a mini fridge and in-room safe, a small couch and a workspace, so two could relax in the evenings and for breakfast in the room. The restaurant was closed for renovations when we visited but there was a wonderful lobby bar with designer chairs and a cool vibe.
Jenny C — Google review
First impression: nice, pleasant, cocktail bar & lounge, clean and classy. Closer look: - Threadbare armchairs in the lounge. - For some reason, a stand in the corridor promoting Gilead Sciences, an American pharma company of dubious repute. - In the room, trash can with no liner. Kettle missing from its stand. Hair in the shower. Small towels. Bathroom floor with its lowest few centimeters sawed off, no doubt after a flood or leak. At 8am, cleaning staff opened the door without knocking. So remember the "don't disturb" sign. We hung the sign "please clean" when we left, but nothing got cleaned. Decent cocktails at the bar, though. All in all, a disappointment given the good reviews and the price we paid. We won't be coming back.
Zenneke C — Google review
We barely got any sleep for the entire trip. The rooms were boiling hot, the AC controls did not work at all despite a visit from the technician. The pillows were honestly a joke. While this is all particularly disappointing with the 1,000€ price tag a night during Anuga, I still wouldn’t stay at that hotel for the usual price. For everyone’s sake, please do better. Edit: After reading the other reviews, I now know that the hotel’s management has been aware of the situation with the AC for a while but has done nothing about it so far. A little honestly would go a long way with your guests.
Alexandre S — Google review
First of all rooms are really clean and even I went there for exhibition. Options are really good cleaning also great their breakfast is open buffet so it was amazing really good. However, the worst thing about the hotel is the Internet. I stayed in the fifth floor and I could get only 4 MB maximum when I talk with the reception they couldn’t fix it so it was really bad. Also, I saw mouse on the lobby and they didn’t do anything so it was a really weird situation for me.
Oğulcan A — Google review
Well-located hotel in the heart of Cologne, just a short walk from the cathedral and main attractions. The rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable, and the breakfast is excellent with a wide variety of fresh options. Service is professional and friendly. Overall, a solid Steigenberger property offering very good comfort and convenience for both business and leisure stays.
Nicolas — Google review
If you want a peaceful nights rest then do not consider this hotel. On a Saturday night there are cars beeping horns and revving engines till the early hours. Apparently this happens most Saturday evenings and it seems the police do nothing about it. Far nicer quieter hotels to stay at in Cologne. This hotel is poorly placed and suffers from terrible noise pollution.
Bruised O — Google review
I’m currently staying at the hotel, and unfortunately, the experience has been disappointing so far. The staff are not cooperative, and no one answers the help desk despite several calls. The rooms are extremely cold, and the AC doesn’t work properly — it can’t switch between cooling or heating, and we already got sick because of it. There’s also no internet connection in the rooms at all. I’m still here, hoping the management or staff can finally respond to my requests and fix these issues soon.

Nestled in the heart of Cologne, 25hours Hotel Köln The Circle is a vibrant gem housed within a striking 1950s rotunda. This unique hotel, designed in collaboration with renowned interior designer Werner Aisslinger, embraces a captivating Retro-Futurism theme that transports guests back to the Sixties. With its eclectic decor featuring exposed concrete and bold splashes of yellow and teal, the atmosphere is both playful and stylish.
Perfect hotel for me and the other half to use as a base to explore Kolne. It's located a few minutes walk south of the Belgian Quarter which has plenty of cafes and bars. 5 minutes to the west there is a decent shopping district with plenty of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. If you like Asian food you're well catered for. The hotel itself is modern welcoming and well set out with a quirky futuristic space theme. The cafe downstairs doubles up as a co working space in the day so always plenty of people about but still not too busy. The monkey bar on the 8th floor was pretty decent and restaurant also in the 8th looked nice, but we ate out instead. We had an outer circle room and had a nice view over the city including the cathedral. There's a lovely sauna on the 7th floor that we made good use of with deck chairs to chill out on after your sauna. Superb. The room was great and we had a mini bar with nuts, chocolate, beers and sparkling water included in the price. Could've used a kettle and some tea coffe in the room but no big deal. The staff were really friendly and welcoming 🙏 letting us charge our phone and drop off luggage before check in. I would highly reccomend this hotel as being clean, comfortable, modern, well located and at a good price. Go on book it now.😃
Ray S — Google review
We had a great stay at 25hours The Circle, a hotel that blends style, comfort, and personality — occasionally with a little more personality than strictly necessary. Service & Atmosphere The staff were warm, efficient, and genuinely helpful. The relaxed, friendly attitude made the stay easy from start to finish. Breakfast The breakfast was excellent — generous, fresh, and above the usual hotel standard. Boasting a surprisingly broad selection of bread, cheeses, charcuterie, fruit - and hot options. Easily one of the highlights of the hotel. Design & Style The design leans heavily into its quirky, hipster theme. At times it’s more “look how unconventional we are” than actually functional, but thankfully it stops short of being unbearable. Once you adjust to the theatrics, it’s fun — and, importantly, doesn’t get in the way of comfort. Rooms Rooms are modern, well thought out, and comfortable. Even with the eccentric décor, the essentials are done right: good bed, smart layout, and quiet at night. Overall, 25hours The Circle delivers good service, an exceptional breakfast, and a design aesthetic that’s eccentric but on the sweet side of it. A stylish stay — even if it occasionally tries a little too hard to remind you how stylish it is.
Letmar E — Google review
It was pretty disappointing. I have stayed at several 25Hours Hotels in the past. In Germany, Switzerland and Austria. So I was excited to stay at this one. The building itself is very impressive. The theme of the hotel is cool, somewhat like space and time capsule. The bed and bathroom were clean. The staff arent the friendliest nor the most welcoming. The hotel is a bit rundown, which is a pity. The carpets have massive stains, and seem not to have been cleaned in a while. The couches/chairs in the lobby and room, have stains and dirty and holes in the them. The "free" mini bar had some cool stuff however, had one cola bottle for two people, and the chocolate bar was already open and had a bite eaten from it (probably from the previous guest) The coffee mug and the spoon were not cleaned and still had coffee in them. The bar on the last floor is open till 2 am, however, if you happen to be staying on a Saturday, there is a massive queue to get in. So if you want to have a drink at the hotel, that wont be possible. In addition, the hotel keys stopped working 2 times, during a one night stay....
Mohammed N — Google review
Nice hotel, beautiful rooms, and generally well managed. I’m sure the management team is doing their best, but unfortunately, their efforts are undermined by the behavior of certain front desk staff. In particular, one male employee behaves rudely — both in person and in online communication. He seems unable to distinguish between guests’ legitimate requests made before arrival and his own personal ego, which results in unprofessional and disrespectful behavior when guests check in. I strongly suggest that this individual’s conduct be reviewed and corrected. Additionally, please take a closer look at how the hotel responds to guests’ requests in their bookings. While you may not be able to guarantee every request, kindness and professionalism in communication cost nothing — after all, your guests are paying customers, not staying for free.
Az T — Google review
Really enjoyed the co-working space here! The atmosphere is cozy and well-designed, and the team is always friendly and ready to help. It might not be the perfect setup for everyone in terms of comfort, but the staff truly go above and beyond to make it a great experience. The fact that the co-working area is free is a huge bonus. I was so happy with my time here that when my family visited Cologne, they stayed at the 25hours Hotel. Highly recommend!
Haci Ç — Google review
Very nice hotel. The rooms are quiet and nicely decorated in an original way. Access to the sauna is included in the price so one can relax in the evening. The restaurant on 8th floor provides tasty and original food and features a decent wine list. The staff is very welcoming and helpful.
Laetitia S — Google review
This is a nice hotel, and the staff are lovely. What I didn’t like was discovering that you can’t get ketchup with your breakfast. This is clearly a management decision — pretentious, pompous, classist, and idiotic. I dread to imagine the ridiculous conversations that must have surrounded it. I hope the people behind the concept of this hotel read this and reflect on their values, and on what such a decision says about their perception of other human beings. It can only have come from someone bereft of empathy and reason. The staff, however, were truly wonderful.
Joseph S — Google review
Disappointing Experience Despite a Trendy Hotel The hotel is trendy with a young, stylish vibe, and the EV charging station was convenient and inexpensive. Unfortunately, everything else about my stay fell far below expectations. I paid in advance specifically to secure an early check-in at 14h—your own condition. Yet when we arrived at 15h, the room still wasn’t ready. Instead of apologizing or offering any solution, the short blonde-haired staff member at the counter was rude and completely unconcerned. What makes it even more frustrating is that you require guests to pay upfront and accept your conditions—clearly to streamline your own operations—yet you don’t respect your part of the agreement. No apology, no compensation, nothing. That’s a terrible way to do business. To top it off, when we finally got the room, the bathroom was dusty. And honestly, I can already guess what your response will be: “We are so sorry that you were disappointed… we will do our best to communicate with our staff…” The usual copy-paste “blablabla” that doesn’t change anything. A few positive amenities don’t compensate for unprofessional service and a complete lack of respect for customers.

The Dorint Hotel am Heumarkt Köln is a luxurious accommodation in Altstadt Nord, offering top-notch amenities for both business travelers and tourists. The hotel features a New York-themed bar/lounge, an indoor pool, hot tub, and gym. Guests can start their day with a hearty breakfast at the Faveo before exploring historical landmarks and shopping centers nearby. In the evening, they can unwind at the famous Harry's New York Bar.
I stayed here for 3 nights last week. It’s one of the best locations to stay at in Cologne -in my opinion- right next to the Rhine river and all the famous shops. I highly recommend to visit here in October since the weather is neither too hot nor too cold.
Zayed A — Google review
The hotel has a great location central to old Köln. We liked that it was a short walk to many sites and activities. Close to the train station. The cathedral and many wonderful restaurants. The staff was mostly courteous and professional. The hotel feels modern and clean. we were on the 6th floor with a view of the cathedral However, the Air conditioning cooling system simply does not work. Despite setting the at 19.5 deg for 5 hours, the temp in our room is still 26 deg. It is approximately 20 deg outside and approximately 21 deg in the hallway. But our room is incredibly warm, and my travel thermometer reads 26 C When I spoke to the front desk they sent someone with a fan. And sold me the system was working properly. Luckily it is a mild temperature outside. If this was a 30 deg day outside it would be dangerously hot in our room. I will not stay here again. And may rethink stays at other Dorit hotels in the future
Sofia C — Google review
I am very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel we usually stay at was sold out. But I thought that by paying over 300 euros per night for a superior room and staying for almost a week, I would receive good service. The room was really big, but dirty, nothing worked, no phones, no air conditioning! The reception said that they clean every 2 days, but that wasn't cleaning either, they just threw out the trash. I don't know who said that the breakfast here is good, it's not true, they didn't change a single dish for a week, the choice is poor, no fish, just vinegar herring! I'm not even talking about sparkling wine, it wasn't available as a type... The pool turned out to be for an additional fee per person over 18 euros per day, this was not indicated on the website. When we complained that the room was cold, instead of fixing the air conditioner they brought us a dirty fan, which was disgusting to touch, let alone turn on. For the promised robes we had to go to the reception, as well as for clean towels. I heard the discontent of other guests, this is not service! Especially for 1500 euros for 4 days. Very bad

We had a really nice stay here recently, nice location big quiet room. Unfortunately our room was a bit shabby and missing essentials, like a table in the seating area or chair to use the table, some of the furniture was torn and in need of replacement. No coffee machine in the room, just a basic small kettle. On arrival there was a lot of glass shards throughout the landing and we found some small fragments on our floor. Room service did collect it on cleaning but the corridors also had broken glass about. The late check in of 3PM is awful and even though we arrived early so many people were getting their rooms at 3 before us. We were told housekeeping still haven't done your room (why ours couldn't have been cleaned first is beyond me). We finally fell asleep in the lobby waiting. We still had a great stay but if those small details were sorted it would have been so much better. Great location and a 2minute walk to supermarket, small fridge in room. Plenty of storage space for cases and clothing. I would stay here again.

Nice hotel otherwise, but my room (713) was totally too hot. Cooling did not worked. E.g. compared to the corridor the room temperature was exceptional high. I asked to check the heating/cooling, but no improvement after that. I was not able to sleep well, had to shower many times, not able to dry shave due to moist skin...

Great location near the Dom, the Rhine River, restaurants, pubs, shopping etc. Hotel facility is great too. I stayed three nights at a conference. House keeping isn't the greatest. I was told the rooms were cleaned every other night but I didn't see my bed linens changed during my stay.

BEWARE: Service ends at checkout and there's zero help for lost items. My stay at the Dorint Hotel between July 11-13th was adequate. Unfortunately, in my rush to check out, I accidentally left several items of clothing in the closet of my room. I understand this was a mistake, however, a hotel's quality is truly shown in how they handle such situations. I sent a detailed e-mail to the hotel on the 17th of July, explaining what was left behind and asking for their procedure on recovering lost items. I made it clear I was more than willing to pay for any shipping and handling costs. It has now been almost two weeks, and I have received absolutely no response. I have even checked my spam folder but there has only been silence from their end. This complete lack of communication is not just unprofessional, it's insulting. It shows a shocking disregard for guest property and customer care. If you value your belongings or expect any level of support after you have paid your bill, I strongly advise you to take the above into consideration.
Mariusz K — Google review
Electric kettle is not working, not resolved issue by replacing the kettle. The receptionist is saying that no more kettle and will check the issue by tomorrow. But I am going to check out by tomorrow. What the house keeping people are doing??? Why they have not checked about the kettle whether it is working or not??? I came here for pleasant stay not irritated stay. So I would like to request the management that please train your staff properly otherwise you will get most of reviews negative.

Hilton Cologne Hotel is a high-end accommodation in the business center of Cologne, offering bright rooms and suites. It provides various amenities such as allergy-free rooms, a fitness room with sauna, and a golf course. The hotel's proximity to attractions like the Museum of Applied Art Cologne and the Cologne Cathedral makes it an ideal choice for travelers. Guests can enjoy features like a Finnish sauna, solarium, and sanarium on-site.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Hilton Cologne is the perfect mix of comfort, style, and location. Just steps away from the Cologne Cathedral and the main train station, you really can’t beat the convenience. Stayed here with friends. The lobby is modern and welcoming, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and designed with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The breakfast buffet is a highlight fresh, varied, and full of both international and local options to start the day right. The on-site bar and restaurant have a great vibe too, perfect for winding down after exploring the city. What really makes the stay memorable, though, is the staff friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. From check-in to check out, everything runs smoothly. Bottom line: If you’re looking for the best hotel in Cologne with unbeatable location, great service, and comfort, Hilton Cologne is a 5-star place.

Good big room. I got an upgrade to an executive room which was nice and big. The floor and bathroom showed some age, but all in all it was good. The breakfast was nice and extensive, but could use a bit more attention from the chefs. The bar was a nice, cozy place to enjoy a good drink.
Nino H — Google review
Little problem at check-in, but the frontdesk manager took professionaly and friendly care of that. I wasn't impressed by the room. It looked rather Spartan. No glasses in the bathroom, no vanity kit (don't need it, but in a Hilton hotel you may expect these little extras). Full wifi is only for gold members, that is quite harsh and old fashioned to your differ one paying guests from other paying guests. As a gold member there are enough other perks to get. Don't 'cut budget' on wifi. Ridiculous! The bed was ready for exchange as it leaped towards one side. Nescafé powder coffee? Then you must hate coffee or dislike having guests! A Nespresso (or an similar) machine is the standard in hotels with 3, 4 or 5 stars. These are the wrong decisions to make when it comes to cutting costs in high end hotels! Breakfast was like having to eat in a school cantina: overcrowded and poor selection and quality of food and drinks. Fresh orange juice should be the standard, not fake processed 'juices'. All in all, overcrowded, busy, poor interior. The hotel could do with a turn-over. Bring it into the twenty-first century!

Very average Hotel. Room was next to road. Easily anyone could break in to the room from the road. Could hear people talking on the road from early morning. Didn't serve food despite promising 24x7 in room dining. Breakfast was average too

The shower area in the room is slightly too tiny to move around. The room is very nice and comfy. The staffs are also very nice and friendly. Unfortunately, unlike some of the other hiltons, there is no water dispensary in the hallway and water is not complimentary unless you are Honors silver and above.

I stayed at Hilton Cologne from October 7 to 9, 2025, during the ANUGA international exhibition. I booked a Junior Suite via Booking.com and paid €1,460.55. The official check-in time is from 15:00, but I had already indicated that I would arrive between 14:00 and 15:00, because I had an important meeting at 15:00 and four more after that. I arrived at 14:15, and the reception told me that my room was not ready yet and asked me to wait 20 minutes. I went to their restaurant for lunch and came back at 14:50 — same story: “Your room is not ready yet, please wait until 15:00.” At 15:00, they again said, “Just 10 more minutes.” Even at 15:10, nothing had changed. During this time, I saw at least five other guests being told exactly the same thing. This is not a coincidence — it’s a complete lack of organization and professionalism. I explained that I had urgent meetings and could not keep waiting. The staff showed total indifference. When I said that I would cancel my stay and move to another hotel (I booked the Radisson Presidential Suite for €1,650), the woman at the reception arrogantly said: “You can leave, the manager will call you.” They pretended to “look for the manager” for about five minutes, but she was actually sitting in the office right next to the reception. When I insisted, the manager finally appeared — a tall blonde woman, who turned out to be extremely rude, arrogant, and dishonest. Instead of apologizing, she told me my room was “now ready” and refused to refund the money, despite the obvious delay and the ruined schedule. She lied straight to my face, showing no respect or responsibility. This woman is a disgrace to the Hilton brand. Her behavior was unacceptable — the kind of attitude you might expect at a cheap roadside inn, not in a supposed “5-star” hotel. Because of her and her staff, I lost valuable business meetings, time, and an entire working day. When I was checking out on October 9, the problems continued. I asked for an invoice issued in my company’s name, as I always do in any professional hotel. The staff issued an invoice only for the restaurant expenses and refused to issue the invoice for the room, saying: “You have to request it from Booking.” That’s absolutely ridiculous — the hotel is always responsible for issuing accommodation invoices. They clearly had no idea how to deal with corporate guests, showing a complete lack of knowledge and training. The Junior Suite itself was also a disappointment — the furniture, walls, and flooring were old, scratched, and worn out. For the high price, the room was far below any 5-star standard. If this is their “suite,” I can only imagine how the regular rooms look. Summary: * Rude and dishonest manager, completely unprofessional * Untrained and disrespectful reception staff * Late check-in and no responsibility * No respect for guests or their time * Invoice problem — staff did not know how to issue a proper invoice for accommodation * Overpriced and does not deserve its 5 stars Hilton Cologne is a disgrace to the Hilton brand. This hotel is not 5 stars — it’s an embarrassment. I strongly do not recommend staying here. If you don’t want to ruin your trip, stay somewhere else where guests are respected.

Great stay at Hilton Cologne. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the cathedral and train station. The breakfast was amazing with lots of fresh options, including made-to-order eggs, pastries, and local specialties. Underground parking was very convenient and easy to access. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Lindner Hotel Cologne City Plaza - JDV by Hyatt is an upscale business hotel located in the trendy Friesenplatz district of Cologne. The hotel offers warm rooms and suites, a modern fitness studio with cardio equipment, and a sauna. It's conveniently situated near popular attractions such as Hohenzollern Bridge, Roman - Cologne Catholic Cathedral, Stadtgarten Cologne, and Rheinpark.
Right next to the main street in Cologne, very close to an expansive shopping district. Courteous and helpful service, they even took care of sending a lost and found item of mine back to my home country. The only gripes I have are that room temperature seems to be quite variable throughout a night, and shower pressure (and therefore water temperature) is uneven at peak showering times. The beds themselves are great though. Enjoyed my stay overall.

This was a very nice hotel about a 15 minute walk from the cathedral. There is a tram station nearby, with many food options easily accessible. The staff at reception was very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was fantastic! We really liked the room, although we found the people walking by on the street a bit loud at night. Overall I would recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay again!

We had an enjoyable stay at this hotel, the room was nice, the bed was comfortable and the staff were very helpful. The breakfast was great with lots of variety. The room was very warm and the air conditioning didn’t cool it down very much and it was too noisy to have the window open. But it was very quiet with the window closed. Also the shower didn’t keep a consistent temperature which was a bit of a pain. It it is a good hotel and a great location. Oh yes! Each floor has a theme! We were on the Zoo floor! There was lots of great art but the two model orangutans made us jump whenever we passed them😀😀😀.

My stay at Lindner Hotel Cologne City Plaza was wonderful. The staff were warm and welcoming, even surprising my dog, Marta, with treats. Such a thoughtful touch. The rooms were stylish and incredibly comfortable. Marcel at the bar made one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had! He’s a true mixologist. Can’t wait for my next trip back to Cologne!

I requested a quiet room and was kindly granted one. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bed was great, the pillows were perfectly firm (just as I like them), and I appreciated that the window could be fully opened for fresh air. The breakfast was superb — it offered everything one could expect, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and kept everything clean and well-stocked. My only remark is that the walls in my room (Room 122) could use a fresh coat of paint due to marks left by previous guests. All in all, the hotel’s location is excellent, and the value for money is definitely there. Thank you, and I will gladly book with you again in the future.

We stayed for three nights and really enjoyed our time here. The rooms were spacious. The location was excellent — quiet yet very central, with plenty of great eateries nearby and just a 15-minute walk to the famous cathedral. Breakfast was good and quite elaborate, a great start to the day. The staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.

The Lindner Hotel was our favorite place to stay in Europe. The location is unbeatable - just a 10 min Uber from the city center/train station. The rooms were spacious and the bed comfortable. The best part was the breakfast buffet which offered a huge selection! The hotel bar was high quality with the bartender creating amazing cocktails. The only slight downside was the digital shower which was a bit fussy to operate. Might suggest that the hotel provide a guide to how to operate. But would absolutely stay here again.
Chris B — Google review
I stayed at the Lindner Hotel twice within three weeks. The first stay was alright, nothing special, but comfortable enough. However, the second stay was quite disappointing. I was told I would be upgraded, but the room I received was actually worse than the first one. The air conditioning barely worked, and the shower wasn’t great either. On the positive side, the location is OK. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the Cologne Cathedral and the city center, so not too far if you don’t mind walking. I don’t think I’ll be returning for a third stay.

Art'otel Cologne, Powered by Radisson Hotels is a design-focused hotel located in the historic city center of Cologne, right on the banks of the River Rhine. The hotel offers modern rooms with free Wi-Fi and features a stylish bar, restaurant, and a large rooftop terrace. It stands out as a unique destination for art lovers as it doubles as a personal gallery for Korean artist SEO's works. The contemporary building itself is an architectural masterpiece and provides an ideal location for exploring the city.
We had a great stay at the art’otel in Cologne! The location is perfect—right by the river and close to all the major sights, restaurants, and shops. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. The only small issue was the parking. Although there’s a garage directly underneath the hotel, it’s run by a separate company, so it’s not connected to the hotel itself. Because of that, we ended up parking on the street. It wasn’t a big deal, just something to be aware of. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

Everything was great! - The room is spacious and has a little sort of a balcony with windows facing the river, which gives a relaxing vibe. - The internet worked well, and we had some working calls - There is the gym and the sauna, which I highly recommend! - The breakfast was perfect- eggs, proteins, salad, fruits, all is fresh quality! - the service is great too One thing to know is that cleaning is not by default but by upon request, based on eco regulations in the country

The rooms are simple but have a lovely view of the Rhine. One interesting detail is the glass wall between the bathroom and the room — it’s decorated with colorful floral designs, which gives the space a unique touch. There’s a fridge, a safe, and a stable internet connection, which is very convenient. The hotel also has a small gym — it’s quite popular in the mornings, so it can get a bit crowded. Overall, a pleasant and comfortable stay with great views!

Very friendly staff. Nice continental breakfast. Comfy beds. Location was a bit unfortunate because all my activities took place on the other side of the river. But still worth the money.

If 0 is an option I would have done it... After making a late night booking and thought it was for the next day, I made an honest mistake and was still for the night... I immediately recognized the mistake and wanted to change or cancel it... First it sounded like they are willing to help but it seems on a short notice they rather hide behind policies... Which is fine, I hope they are happy with it... but my trust in this brand is definitely gone... Think twice is the answer here as well take your business elsewhere...

I have experienced hotels all over the world and that has taught me to not trust written text or pictures until I've seen it myself. But I knew already when I saw the hotel from the taxi that it would be at least a good stay, or even better. This is a beautiful hotel with a great atmosphere. The staff are really polite and nice. I got my key card and went up, opened the door and I found a fantastic room. It's very spacious, especially when you travel alone. I love the floor to ceiling window, but what caught my interest first was the painted glass wall between the shower and the rest of the room. The bed was good, at least for me, since it's a bit on the harder side and I have a lot of back pain. The proof is that I slept over 9 hours the second night and thats unusual for me. The only sad thing, if I shall say something negative, is the TV. As a none german speaking person there wasn't a lot to watch in the evenings and with an open Wi-Fi I don't lower my vpn to do screen mirroring. To conclude this I will say that this hotel is among my favorite hotels and if I visit Köln again I will return.

Hotel Motel One Köln-Neumarkt is a stylish and modern hotel located in the vibrant shopping district of Cologne. The property offers chic and laid-back rooms with complimentary Wi-Fi, featuring crisp white bedding and abstract art. Situated within walking distance to cultural attractions such as Saint Gereon's Basilica and Museum Schnutgen, the hotel provides a central setting for exploring the city.
In resume: Amazing hospitality. Great for staying and sleeping, went during winter time so it was great to see how well heated the rooms are. Rooms: Pretty small, don't expect to fit a family here, this is a motel after all! Still, it's size is nothing but a simple nitpick, for the rest of the room is very good, comfy and it really makes you wanna sleep the day away whenever you're around, and the bathroom is pretty good too, well cleaned and maintained (props to the cleaning team!) Breakfast: Breakfast is really good, I'd say one of the best across motel chains on Europe! Had a hard time not being able to eat everything on the table 😭🤣 Location: You'd think you'd be far away from the main attractions like the Cathedral and the Chocolate museum, but it's nothing a 15 minute walk can't solve, and besides, there are payable scooters nearby too so it's very easy to get around!
Vinny M — Google review
We stayed at Hotel Motel One Köln-Neumarkt for two nights during the Easter holiday, and overall, it was a solid experience with a few mixed impressions. First and foremost, the location is excellent. Truly one of the strongest points of this hotel. It’s situated within walking distance to most of the main tourist attractions in Cologne. Whether you want to stroll over to the Cologne Cathedral, shop around Neumarkt, or just explore the old town, you’re already right in the heart of it. We barely needed to use any transportation during our stay because everything was so close by. That level of convenience really made our trip more enjoyable and less stressful. The rooms, however, were smaller than expected. It wasn’t uncomfortable or cramped to the point of being an issue, but for the price point, I would have appreciated a bit more space. That said, the design is modern and efficient. Despite the size, everything is arranged in a very practical way, making good use of the space available. If you’re not planning to spend much time in the room, it does the job perfectly well. As for cleaning service, it was decent. The room was tidy upon arrival and was kept that way throughout our stay. There was nothing particularly impressive or memorable about the housekeeping, but nothing negative either. Just solid, reliable service as you’d expect. Check-in and check-out were both very smooth. We didn’t experience any delays or confusion. The staff handled everything quickly and professionally, which we appreciated after a long journey. It’s always nice when the hotel doesn’t add unnecessary hassle to the start or end of a trip. The temperature in the room was just right. We couldn’t adjust it manually, but surprisingly, we didn’t feel the need to. It was kept at a very comfortable level day and night. No stuffiness, no chilly drafts — just a pleasant atmosphere that made relaxing in the room easy. One area that stood out less positively for us was the breakfast. At around 18 euros per person, we expected a bit more in terms of variety. Don’t get me wrong — the essentials were all there. You won’t leave hungry. But the selection felt a little limited for the price. Some more hot options or regional specialties would’ve been a nice touch. It just didn’t feel like it matched the overall quality level of the hotel. On a very positive note, every staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful. From the front desk to the breakfast area, the team seemed genuinely attentive and welcoming. That human touch can really shape a guest’s experience, and in that regard, they definitely delivered. To sum it up, the hotel is a well-located, well-managed hotel with modern style and a comfortable atmosphere. While the rooms are on the smaller side and the breakfast could use a bit more variety, the overall experience was pleasant. If you value a central location, efficient service, and a clean, no-fuss stay, this is a great option in Cologne. Just know that you’re paying a bit of a premium for the location — which may very well be worth it depending on your plans.

It was a good place, today is a dirty place, vegetable on breakfast are old and brown color. If you ask for water they are sending you to the bar and charge for 6EUR for small bottle. No iron at the rooms. Stuff are clean very quickly and actually it is not clean do not respect your privacy. When they are cleaning the room they just organized it they are not really clean it. And for this shit I pay 500EUR per night. Never come back again.
DANIEL L — Google review
The hotel was nice, clean and in a good location, not right in the middle of old town but an easy 15 minutes or so walk to most everything. Everything was good except the room was just so tight. There was really not a place to lay out our suitcases. No closet but there were 2 places with hangers you could use. Not much counter space in the bathroom either. European standards are different than those in the US but this was tight even by their standards. The breakfast was good but only soft boiled eggs, no scrambled eggs or hot meats. Great fruit salad, kiwi, apples, bananas, sweets, cold meats and cheeses, and of course, lots of bread! No issues with the wi-fi. I'm not not recommending this hotel, but come prepared.

NH Köln Altstadt is a 4-star hotel situated in the heart of Cologne, offering polished rooms with some overlooking the river. The hotel features an upscale bistro, a courtyard terrace, and a sauna for guests to enjoy. Despite its prime location near attractions like the Imhoff - Cologne Chocolate Museum and the roman-catholic Cologne Cathedral, some visitors have noted issues with air conditioning.
Stayed here for a couple of days recently. The hotel itself is large and the rooms are very spacious. Staff were very accommodating and helped us when deciding what public transport to take and attractions to visit. The hotel itself is only a short walk from Cologne's main attractions. All at a reasonable price as well.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel was clean, quiet, and very comfortable, and the staff was professional throughout. The location was great, it’s about a 20–30 minute walk along the river to the Cologne Cathedral, which was a very pleasant way to reach the city center. A nice bonus was the in-room coffee machine (espresso, cappuccino, Nespresso? Not sure which!) that made mornings even better. Overall, a wonderful stay and I’d be happy to return.

Typical business hotel. Nice breakfast. Good rooms but not perfect. Biggest problem I would say is that they cleand your room every 4th day as some sort of world protection thing, but you can order cleaning before that. Only problem is that nobody told us that!

Very clean with friendly helpful English speaking staff. Decent spacious room for Europe, with nice bathroom & good shower. Location close to Ferris Wheel and Chocolate museum, about 20 minutes walk along the Rhine from the station. Pretty attractive the start then it gets a bit urban.

In the 21st century, imagine a hotel room that has a TV with apps but absolutely no internet access. The staff kindly reminds you it's not a smart TV, so it can't connect online. It's almost a novelty in this day and age to find a 'smart' TV that’s anything but smart. Just a heads-up for fellow travelers who expect a bit more connectivity.

Lovely hotel overlooking the Rhine. One of the best hotel vegan breakfasts I have had. Sweet potato hash and a bean stew. So tasty and so filling. Plus lots of other pulses, fruit and veggies.
Paul C — Google review
This is the second time I have stayed in an NH hotel in Cologne – first in this one as the previous had no availability. First impressions were fantastic – night receptionist was incredibly helpful, even pointing out that there was a garage / mini market opposite if I wanted any supplies that were not available in the reception (I chose to read between the lines that it would be cheaper – it was!). He pointed out that room cleaning was available at no extra cost, but I would need to request it at reception the next morning. The room was fantastic – far from the best, but large - a separate hall / vestibule and the bathroom off that. WiFi was fine, although NH do throttle the free offering in order to sell their “premium” options. There was a TV which presumably worked along with fridges and coffee makers. The only criticism I have here is that during my stay at those other NH In Cologne, they provided additional bottles of water every day even if you didn’t request cleaning – not here. Conveniently the garage across the road had plenty of water for pennies... I visited the bar which was perfectly pleasant but pretty dead – hardly the fault of the bar. Checkout was where my experience deteriorated. NH (in Cologne at least) have a “Lazy Sundays”promotion, where they offer 5pm checkout. I mentioned this at check-in and was told that the hotel was far from full so that should be fine. At the morning of checkout I asked at reception for a 5pm checkout and was told that I would need to buy another night. I mentioned the promotion and she complained that I needed to have a Minor hotels loyalty account – which I did. She then complained that I needed to have booked directly on their website – which I had. It was reluctantly agreed that I could keep my room until 5pm. When I returned at 4.50pm to checkout I was treated with aggression as I was clearly the last person checking out (she knew my room number before I told her). I was told to ‘stay there’ and ‘you can’t leave’ until she apparently worked out that I hadn’t broken any rules at which point no apology – just ‘you can leave’. Fantastic hotel, shame about the checkout experience...

Hotel Lyskirchen is a 4-star hotel located in the old part of Cologne, close to attractions like the Imhoff - Cologne Chocolate Museum and the historic city center. The venue offers elegant non-smoking rooms with Wi-Fi, a lobby bar, and dining options. Guests can enjoy amenities such as an indoor pool, sauna, and gym. The hotel is within walking distance of the Rhine Promenade and features spacious rooms with elegant interiors.
Easy check-in upon arrival (online pre-check-in was also possible but it was a bit cumbersome when you are in a group), friendly staff, lovely quiet rooms. The hotel has a perfect location in relation to the city center. It will definitely be a place I will stay next time I come to Cologne.

Great location, acceptable Hotel But due to their green policy they don't clean rooms till day 3 if your stay, that maybe green but not clean !!! No one touring iron table and fresh set of towels, so you need to get them from reception yourself, acceptable breakfast but not much variety and the wifi is very poor
Payam Z — Google review
The location was easy enough to get to from Köln hbf, and the staff was very attentive and thorough. The check-in process was a little tedious, since it requires you to register a card (usually with staff) if you want your lights to be working properly - not something you can accommodate with the online check-in. The washroom facilities design also left a bit to be desired, with the strength of the shower consistently leaking through the shower stall into the bathroom (but thankfully not into the room itself). However, for a stay that included a pool and exercise facility, and which is easily close by to a laundromat as well as the cathedral, I do think it's a worthwhile place to stay at.

The hotel infrastructure is fine but the hotel claims to have parking when it doesn’t - we spent 3 hours looking for parking in Cologne after arriving and being told there was no room for our vehicle, when we asked staff for help they told us “there is no chance”. The hotel also claims to be pet-friendly when it isn’t - dogs are allowed anywhere except in the foyer and in rooms. When we tried to go into any other part of the hotel with our dog, we were told not to with a look of complete contempt and disgust. Staff very unprofessional. Avoid.

Great value hotel. The room was small but well arranged, with a comfortable bed and very clean. (No small fridge for cold water.) Service was excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, it’s perfect for a short business trip and serves its purpose very well.
Aurel L — Google review
The hotel itself is really nice and location/pricing was solid. I kinda knew from planning that across the city there were hotels known to have no AC/not good enough AC. I was hoping that wouldn't be the case here but I was unlucky. Even with opening the window it still feels like a sauna in there, and the "cold AC" blows room temperature warm air (it barely even feels like much air is coming out at all). I couldn't get any sleep I was literally sweating while wearing nothing but boxers. This review is for people who are also heat sensitive, otherwise the place is great.

Location isn't bad. There's a Korean restaurant a block away, and the Cathedral was an 18min walk. I reserved a parking space the day before arriving. Easy to get to, but very narrow to drive into. The receptionist was so helpful with checking us in bc I kept getting an error while checking-in online. I had reserved two rooms (one apt and one regular); my two older parents stayed in the regular double room bc it had an elevator. Me, my cousin, and my two kids (3 & 5) stayed in the apartment (next door) bc there is no lift, and we were on the third floor. The rooms were updated, modern, and clean. The apartment had dish soap, a mini fridge, stove, and dishes to use. There was a king bed and the pullout couch was a queen, and the room was still large enough to have a small table and two chairs. The bathroom was huge with double vanity. I would definitely stay here again. We also had the breakfast buffet and they had so much good food.

A practical hotel near Lanxess Area driving only 10 mins, and situated just alongside the Rhein river. The hotel is very clean and gives good enough space for workday stay or seminar. Great value. There’s free water to get daily from lobby, great power shower and good wifi. There’s free only drawback is the floor plan of the room which doesn’t have a dedicated room for shower. It’s just a glass wall. However, there’s no mess after shower or anything.

The hotel offers impeccable service, allergy-free rooms, a sauna, and a gym. It features a lobby bar, casual restaurant, meeting space, children's menu, and gaming room.
Perfect experience! Not only the stay was brilliant, but also the team helped me to get back my lost stuff from the safe. I am truly pleased with the people working there.

My wife and I stayed in Cologne for one night and were lucky to meet Simge at the reception. She was very friendly and helpful, even drawing us a small route on the city map so we could discover all the hidden treasures :) Thank you, Simge — hope our paths cross again someday!

We spent two nights with my daughters. The hotel is very well located, clean and very quiet (5th floor). The staff are very helpful and friendly, especially in the restaurant. Thank you all! I will definitely come back if I'm ever in Cologne again.

Really basic offering. No room service, no food options in the building after 9pm, no iron in the room and none available to borrow at reception. The category of room booked was not available upon check in but no discounts applied. HVAC system unable to cool the room despite being run on highest setting. Wifi access not straightforward.
Landry H — Google review
The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained, offering a comfortable stay. However, for a 4-star hotel, a few additional amenities would have been appreciated to enhance the overall experience. The breakfast was a good, with a wide variety of options to choose from. One drawback is the location, it’s a bit far from the city center, which might be inconvenient for some travelers.
Amina I — Google review
The location is close to the riverside, 800 meters from the Lindt Chocolate Museum and 2 km from the city center. The family room is quite spacious and includes a bathtub. Amenities such as toothbrushes and shower caps are only available at the reception. Drinking water is available in the lobby, but guests need to bring their own bottles or purchase one at the reception. For a hotel of Novotel's standard, it's a bit inconvenient to have to go down to the lobby just to get drinking water. Would it be possible to provide reusable glass bottles in each room instead?
Shinta R — Google review
We stayed at the Novotel in Cologne and overall had a decent experience. The room itself was fine clean, spacious, and the main bed was comfortable. However, the sofa bed for the kids was extremely hard, which made sleeping a bit uncomfortable for them. One issue we had was with the minibar fridge...it wasn’t cold at all. After some troubleshooting, we figured out that the fridge was overheating because of poor ventilation. We ended up detaching the cabinet door from the fridge door to allow some airflow, which helped a little. It was clear no one had vacuumed behind or under it for a long time there was a lot of dust on the compressor. So that’s a tip for maintenance! The room was otherwise well equipped and functional. The only real downside was the parking. €21 per day in the Novotel’s own garage feels overpriced, especially considering cheaper options are available elsewhere in the city.

great hostel with lovely rooms. the 6 person dorm i stayed in was great spacious and having curtains was amazing. each person has a locker big enough for a large suitcase which was very good. the beds are big and the room was light and airy. the bar downstairs is very cool and the local area is great. the staff are friendly and the facilities are good. would highly recommend, this was a great hostel experience.

I have visited Europe 63 times and stayed in many different cities, but this is the first time I have experienced a place that combines the friendly atmosphere of a hostel with the service quality of a five star hotel. The staff were exceptionally professional and kind.

This hostel was something out of a dream. I enjoyed it more than I would a hotel. The room I stayed in was a ballet themed dorm and so so pretty. And the view from my bed was incomparable. Free ginger shots and tea, coffee was available. The towels were free too which is rare for hostels these days. There’s a microwave if you wanna heat up food but can’t cook. I wish I could stay here again!!

I wish it was a chain so could stay in other cities 😭

The Wasserturm Hotel Cologne, Curio Collection by Hilton offers upscale accommodation within a historic 19th-century water tower. The hotel's unique character is evident from the moment you step into the lobby, with its high ceilings, original spiral staircase, and art pieces by renowned artists. Located in a bustling shopping area of Cologne, it provides easy access to attractions such as the Wallraf-Richartz Museum and Basilica of St. Severin.
We stayed there as a family of 4, got a room update with connecting doors which was amazing (as we got a suite). Very clean and comfortable, nothing missing (enough Nespresso capsules, filled free minibar (non alcoholic), also the kids room. Only one little remark: we tried the roof top bar which has an amazing view - but the service was not perfect as they didn’t come to our table for 15 minutes (we needed to go to the bar and order although they checked us in but somehow forgot us). But drinks were really great and worth the price. We will come again

The building is beautiful, and the room was great with a perfect view of the city, including the cathedral. The receptionist was very sweet and made us feel welcomed. All workers were attentive and nice. It is fairly close to the centre, with many stores barely 5-10 minutes away. There is also a metro station nearby, but sadly there are quite a lot of drug users in the area.
Gloria G — Google review
Hotel is located in a historic water tower and it has a lot of charm. It’s been renovated very thoughtfully and I appreciate the touches of working in the water tower theme in the decor. Breakfast has a great selection, there are hot and cold buffet items as well as à la carte options. I visited the Bar Botanik a couple times and had great drinks. All of the staff was wonderful and very helpful. I was in a Duplex Suite which was an upgrade with my Hilton Status. Space was just right, mini bar items, coffee and tea were included. My only two gripes with the room were that the bathroom was on the main level and none on the loft in the bedroom. The room stayed a bit warm during my stay and I could not adjust the air conditioner to a lower temperature, it was a bit uncomfortable sleeping in the loft with all of the warm air rising from the lower level. The only other complaint that I could have are the lifts, there’s 2 for a 13 story building but they are configured quite right each only has one call button and you cannot specify up or down when you call it so they are a bit of a wait. Besides those small things, I had a great 3 night stay here.

One of the most unique hotels I have ever been to. I absolutely loved the interior. I think the staff must have mistaken me for someone else when I checked in, since when they pulled up my reservation, their eyes got big and I was upgraded to a duplex suite. It was a lovely suite, regardless of the severely scuffed and scratched walls. Breakfast was pretty good.
Joey G — Google review
Unique building with lovely city views. Friendly reception. We were well taken care of as Hilton diamond member. Location felt a bit quiet but was still quite close to wherever we needed to go. Parking has electric charging but you need an adapter. Unfortunately there was a false fire alarm at 5am but thankfully it was quickly addressed by local fire dept.

I enjoyed my stay at this unique hotel in Cologne. I've got an upgrade to a Tower Duplex Junior Suite for only 14 EUR per night. The breakfast was pretty good and the staff were really helpful and polite. The gym was also very well equipped, and there is a nice spa which I couldn't use unfortunately! The vicinity to the public transport and the city center makes it a great option. Highly recommended!
Saeed M — Google review
Me and my partner stayed in this hotel Oct 12-14. I’d like to start by saying this historic building is absolutely stunning great renovations inside and very thoughtful decoration all around. Myself and my partner booked a Junior Suit as we wanted to enjoy some extra space and didn’t mind the upgrade and we both stepped in very excited about our trip. I also wanted to add the rooms are sparkly clean very well decorated and has most desirable amenities such as a mini bar hot coffee and tea plus hair dryer and toiletries However, for the first time ever, after working with Hilton brand for 9 years, I had the most disrespectful and rude encounter with the receptionist who checked us in to our hotel. As I had booked my trip through “Chase Travel” for the 1st time I was ineligible for my Hilton honor gold status benefits which is completely understandable. However, when the receptionist gentleman was trying to inform us that we could not receive the gold benefits was extremely disrespectful to us. As I was trying to explain why does the honor app shows that we have the benefits, he cut me off multiple times, insisting that we booked through “Expedia” in order to “get a better rate” that’s why we aren’t eligible. I was spoken to in a very demeaning manner, saying that “oh there are rules that you need to follow and you can’t force this”. Again, there was no issues in understanding the hotel policy only the attitude and the way I was spoken to was very questionable specially to me as I have visited multiple Curio Collection properties around the world and the customer service has been truly topnotch at every single one of them. This encounter absolutely ruined our mood upon check in and was very disappointed with my experience as I really loved the hotel and the beautiful rooftop bar that they had. Overall I want to make sure I mention the great things we experienced at the hotel such as the uniques architecture, a very convenient lounge with coffee and tea plus the room service but I very much want to also emphasize the level of disrespect I experienced upon check in and the next day when we tried to order room service through the phone with the same gentleman.

The Hyatt Regency Cologne is a luxurious hotel offering upscale accommodation and amenities. The hotel features a posh restaurant serving gourmet cuisine, including sushi, and a chic bar for guests to unwind. With its striking exterior and stunning views of the Cologne Cathedral and the River Rhine, this stylish business hotel provides spacious, classical-style rooms with modern facilities such as flat-screen TVs, tea/coffee amenities, and complimentary WiFi.
We were pleasantly surprised by the Hyatt Regency Cologne Hotel’s convenient location and comfortable rooms, and the staff was very accommodating… The hotel exceeded our expectations. The rooms were clean, stylish, and comfortable, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, attentive, and we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere… The hotel's amenities were also excellent, including a beautiful pool and a relaxing spa… The hotel's location was very very very great, close to shops and restaurants, the Dom, museums, bridge and the Triangle… We especially enjoyed the great views, the peaceful atmosphere, Club Lounge (the breakfast was delicious and other food services) and the excellent service…. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again…

Awesome stay! If you have the points, definitely choose the Club Floor. It's only 3,000 more points per night but an excellent value. We got a room facing the cathedral, etc. it was spectacular. The staff were top notch.
Michael H — Google review
A cozy and comfortable home away from home, a short walk over the historic bridge to all the sights of Köln! The lounge was great, the spa facilities adequate, breakfast was diverse, the rooms well built and spacious and the staff were very professional, friendly and welcoming. While this building is quite a bit older than the sparkly modern Hyatt Regency of Dusseldorf, we far preferred this location. The room layout made far more sense and it is built well, I couldn’t hear any of our neighbors while at the Dusseldorf Regency it was loud each direction like an apartment building. If you’re looking to choose between those two Hyatts definitely choose this one and if you’re looking for a top hotel of Köln with friendly staff, this is your choice! :-)
Lauren — Google review
The Hyatt in Cologne has a lot going for it — the service is excellent, the staff is friendly and professional, and the location couldn’t be better. Waking up to direct views of the cathedral is truly special, and the rooms are clean and well maintained. That said, the overall design feels a bit dated, and during my stay I was accidentally charged twice for my room (which was later refunded). Small issues like that make it hard to completely relax, as you feel you always have to double-check things. A good hotel overall, but it could use a design refresh and more attention to the guest experience details.
Mark B — Google review
As a Globalist, I was upgraded to a suite overlooking the Rhine — every evening I would sit by the window and watch the bridge glowing under the sunset. Those moments alone were worth the stay. Breakfast was exceptional, both in quality and variety, easily among the best I’ve had in Europe. The staff were genuinely warm and attentive, creating a sense of welcome that felt effortless. The complimentary minibar in the suite was a thoughtful touch. The pool may be small, but taking a swim while the city slowly woke up felt refreshing and serene. Hyatt Regency Cologne has that rare combination of great views, excellent service, and true comfort — a place where you don’t just stay, but linger.
Anderson Z — Google review
Lovely hotel - stay in a club room. John who works in the regency lounge is amazing! So accommodating, professional and really went the extra mile to accommodate for gluten free during our stay!
Rich — Google review
Can't fault the place much. Location us great, friendly and helpful staff. Although the rooms are a bit dated and shower needs some scrubbing, the beds are comfortable , clean linen and towels. We also had breakfast which was delicious and filling. The pool was a plus for us as we got to refresh in the pool after an afternoon of exploring the city. Overall it's a lovely hotel, ideal for families, couples or even solo travel. My only "complaint" is the parking which I think is a bit expensive. €40 for 24hr parking.
Cathrine L — Google review
I was fully satisfied with our stay at this hotel everything from start to finish was great! The location is simply unbeatable, offering the most stunning view of the Cologne Bridge and the Kölner Dom. Waking up to that skyline was a real highlight of the trip. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we especially appreciated having both a shower and a bathtub separated, a small luxury that made a big difference. Inside, the hotel is modern, clean, and well-designed, creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout. From the outside, the building might not be the most eye-catching, but once you’re inside, that really doesn’t matter. What counts is the experience—and this one truly delivered. The breakfast was very good as well, with a nice variety and quality that set us up perfectly for the day. All in all, it was a great stay and I would definitely return without hesitation.

Nestled in the heart of Cologne's Old Town, Lindner Hotel Cologne Am Dom - JDV by Hyatt offers a modern and comfortable stay just a short walk from the iconic Cologne Cathedral. The hotel features bright rooms, a Mediterranean-style restaurant, and access to an indoor pool for relaxation. Additionally, guests can enjoy amenities such as a fitness center, sauna, and health club.
We loved our stay at the Lindner Hotel Cologne Am Dom! The service was amazing - we were so delighted and touched by the special touches the staff added to help celebrate our anniversary! Everyone we encountered on staff was kind and helpful. (We especially loved talking with Pamela!) Our rooms were spacious and very comfortable. And the pool area was a great bonus for the kids. Finally, breakfast was unparalleled. So many delicious options. What a spread! Thank you to all the hotel staff for a spectacular stay!

The location of this hotel is quite convenient — very close to the central station and the Cologne Cathedral, so getting around is easy. However, there were some downsides. There was no complimentary water provided in the room, which was a bit disappointing for this category of hotel. I booked a room with a balcony, but unfortunately the view was directly over a construction site, which took away from the experience. Overall, it’s fine if you want to stay near the main station and cathedral, but the little details could be improved.
Sally B — Google review
What a lovely surprise!! We usually stay at a competitor on the opposite side of the train station which is closer to the Rhine. This hotel is smaller yet the staff are all lovely from the moment you check in!! Our hotel room was clean, spacious and since we reserved the Junior Dom Suite which has a view of the Cathedral you can enjoy sipping wine and having a smoke on your balcony in the evening! The staff, Pamela and Hichem, in the restaurant were incredibly gracious and greeted us each morning! They made us feel welcome and even treated us to a special “energy shot” to start our day! My husband and I plan to return to this fun hotel! The location was ideal & more convenient for us than our previous usual location where we’ve stayed for the previous 6 years. Sorry I haven’t taken more photos this time. This hotel also has an indoor pool and sauna which we did not explore this trip but plan to next time!

The front desk and breakfast staff were really nice. This is my second time staying here. The first time the carpet was pretty bad. This time the room had better carpet. Overall, I only came back because of the location in regards to the central station and dom. The rooms are pretty dated for the price.

Our stay at Lindner Hotel am Dom was terrific! Get the included breakfast. Hichem and Pamela were so kind and helped us celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary with a decorated table and souvenirs. Everything was delicious. The pool, hot tub and sauna also felt terrific after a day of travel.

Great stay at the hotel. Very close to the cathedral and main attractions. Front staff and breakfast staff were very sweet and amazing (shoutout to Pamela!)! At night, if you are a tourist, it feels a bit unsafe but it’s comparable to being in any major city. Good rooms, just had a bit of trouble with the AC, but all was sorted. Great stay overall!

The Mondial Am Dom Hotel Cologne - MGallery Collection is a refined hotel located by the riverside, offering cozy rooms and a spa for guests to unwind. Situated just a stone's throw away from the majestic Cologne Cathedral and the Museum Ludwig, as well as being close to the River Rhine, it boasts an unbeatable location. The in-house German restaurant, Mondial 1516, serves up traditional and regional dishes with views of the cathedral.
The hotel is very well arranged with various art pieces. It's very well kept and clean. The same is to be said about the rooms and room cleaning services. The room is compact but enough. I personally like the way the bathroom is, with the frosted glass separating it from the bedroom. The location is great, with only a 10 minute walk from the train station, the cathedral is just 2 minutes away and everything else you would (mainly) want to see is there.
Teodora M — Google review
This hotel is in a perfect location in downtown Cologne. It is very close (a few minutes) walk to the famous Cologne cathedral, yet far enough away from the crowds of that area. It's walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants and near the Rhine river walk way. The hotel itself is clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was big enough for our luggage and the beds and pillows were comfy. Some nice perks included shampoo, shower gel, conditioner and body lotion and enough for myself and my husband to use for a few nights. The shower water pressure was amazing and the bathroom had lots of space to put makeup and toiletries. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Probably one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at! From the moment we checked in, Lena at the reception made us feel truly welcome. We were given a lovely room with a beautiful view… it was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. During our stay, we were pleasantly surprised with a handwritten welcome card and a selection of fresh fruit from the staff, which was such a thoughtful and generous gesture. The hotel’s location is perfect, right in the city center, just next to the cathedral, making it incredibly easy to explore Cologne on foot. As part of the Accor group, this hotel truly lives up to the high standards of service and hospitality you’d expect. A big thank you to Max, Lena, and the entire team for making our stay so memorable!

(Mondial M Gallery) - This hotel is well positioned both for train station, food restaurants and to walk down the Rhine. The staff are excellent and even although its more of a business hotel the service is very friendly and genuine and the breakfasts at excellent. The rooms are a little compact but they are well appointed and well ventilated. I was very happy with this hotel and would be happy to recommend it.

Superb hotel, brilliant location for the Dom, train station and old town. Rooms were very clean, albeit a tad small, the coffee machine in the business room was a nice added touch. Excellent buffet breakfast and a lovely bar to unwind in after a day exploring this captivating city.

We have stayed here before and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The hotel has been renovated and is gorgeous. The location is perfect, a 5 minute stroll to the river Rhine, main station and cathedral. The famous Cologne breweries are nearby as are the Alter Markt and Heumarkt. The main shopping area is just beyond the cathedral. The atmosphere is relaxed but efficient and pleasant. A great place to stay in Cologne.

Fabulous location with cathedral views perfect in city centre. Lovely staff super helpful & friendly. Lovely bright rooms so clean and great quality hospitality tray and bathroom products everything you needed Great onsite restaurant and bar. Lovely touch gift shop with refreshments and snacks to purchase.
Clair P — Google review
Only thing good about this hotel is location and that’s what they charge you for! Service is professional yet sluggish, impersonal, detached… no one is smiling! Most rooms are small facing nothing! If this weren’t an official booking I would not go there nor would recommend it to anyone. I would hope the hotel management takes notice of this feedback and compliment the lack of room view with better service experience. Also if you an Easterner or picky eater don’t venture. Hardly anything on room service or even the restaurant! But I guess thats Europe for you and I am Asia, so my service expectations are very different. Also notice that all 5* rating are mostly Europeans. I may be a bit harsh here, but being in the hospitality industry they need to match up to highest standards.

The Motel One Köln-Mediapark is a modern budget hotel with free Wi-Fi and a covered terrace. It is situated close to Cologne Cathedral and has easy check in. The price is very low for the quality of the accommodation.
I had a very pleasant stay at Motel One Mediapark in Köln. The hotel delivers exactly what you expect from this chain: modern design, a clean and functional room, and a good value for money overall. The service at reception and in the bar was consistently friendly and efficient, making the whole experience smooth and uncomplicated. The rooms are generally quiet and comfortable, with good beds and practical layouts. However, it’s worth mentioning that if you get a street-facing room, you’ll definitely notice the noise from the busy road outside – so I’d recommend asking for a courtyard-facing room if you’re a light sleeper. Inside, though, everything is spotless and well maintained, just as you’d hope. The hotel bar is open 24/7, which is a big plus if you want to unwind after a long day in the city or grab a drink late in the evening without having to leave the building. The gin selection is surprisingly good for a budget-friendly hotel, price wise they're on the higher side, but the atmosphere is relaxed. Breakfast is the one area where Motel One could improve. The buffet is fresh and nicely presented, but the selection is rather limited, and the breakfast space cery small for how large the hotel is. Often you have to sit by the reception to enjoy your breakfast as it gets pretty crowded very cast. Don’t expect warm dishes beyond some lukewarm hard-boiled eggs. It seems to be the same setup in all Motel One locations though, so it’s not unique to this hotel or any surprise if you visited one or two, but if you’re used to a more extensive breakfast, you may find it a bit underwhelming. Overall, the combination of clean rooms, modern style, friendly staff, and great location makes Motel One Mediapark Köln an excellent choice. Despite the breakfast limitations, I still give it 5 stars because the value and experience are consistently reliable.

We booked a room in seventh floor, it was nice. The issue there’s no mini fridge, no enough wore drop, and the service you have to go down to reception to ask for it. It’s considered to be sooo expensive on the value they present $$$.

Rooms were clean, warm and reasonable sized (just enough for a luggage). Main problem is rooms lack a mini fridge and electric kettle which is international standard. You can get hot water from the bar but that's very inconvenient. The hotel isn't meant for tourist so it's like 20 min walk from the tourist areas (Cathedral) . In general the vibe is this isn't a hotel for tourists , all but 3 TV channels are in English. The buffet breakfast is not bad

Room: 5/5 Comfortable medium-firm mattress, soft pillow. New towels, clean up service. Location: 3/5 Not really convenient location to walk by center. Receptionist: 3/5.

We (a couple and two kids) stayed at the hotel . They offerred two rooms as the all of the rooms had one bed . The rooms weren't very spacious but they were trendy, super comfortable and clean. In the bathrooms they prefer using organic products. The hotel is near to city centre which is good for us to walk around and see the old town and the shops shortly. You can easily access to main train station, Messe Station and the Köln Bonn Airport via Hansaring S-Bahn Station. They helped us to keep our luggage till our flight time. The hotel has a small garden to enjoy yourselves and refresh while waiting for the flight. We want to thank all of the stuff at the reception but especially to Ali for his concern, kindness and help during our stay. You won't regret staying here. It's going to be my first choice when I come back to Köln.

When I saw the inscription motel, I thought nothing special, but ... This is a very cool place for spending time and relaxing, from the center of Cologne on foot for 10-20 minutes (depending on how fast you walk). The room is clean and comfortable. The room is not big, but very very comfortable. Breakfast is not a big variety, but you can eat and everything is very tasty. The staff is top notch, friendly and willing to help. If you are in Cologne, then this hotel is what you need.

I stayed at Hotel One Mediapark Cologne recently and had a great experience. The room was clean and modern, with a comfortable bed and all the amenities I needed. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a wide variety of options to choose from. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was convenient, just a short walk from the city center. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other budget-minded travelers. Also, they have wide variety of gin brands. The modern vibe, welcoming staff, and well-kept rooms add to the overall pleasant experience, making it a top choice for both family and business travelers.

Ibis Budget Koeln Messe is a modern hotel located near the venue, making it a convenient choice for travelers. The bright and streamlined rooms, some with bunk beds, offer complimentary Wi-Fi. The hotel provides 24-hour front desk assistance and shopping service. Guests appreciate the simple yet clean boat-like bedrooms and the friendly staff. It's recommended for short business trips due to its good facilities, quiet location, comfortable beds, and excellent value breakfast.
This is a lovely hotel, Ignore any negative reviews for this hotel. I was skeptical arriving after reading bad reviews, however this hotel exceeded expectations and is excellent value for money. Amazing and friendly staff who go out there way to help make your stay pleasant. Rooms are extremely fresh and clean, hairdryers available and lots of space. Minimal nose in hotel, amazing facilities and breakfast. Perfect for anyone visiting köln or concert goers as it's located very close to the stadium. Would give 10 stars if possible. Don't be put of by the fact it's budget Ibis this is better than some 5 star hotels I've been to. Danke schön.

We stayed in the two-bedroom for one night. I had booked and paid through Booking.com. As in the images, the shower cabin was in the room, the toilet part was separate. There was no problem with cleanliness, the staff at the reception were friendly and helpful. It's about a five minute walk from the tram stop, and it's also practical in terms of transportation.

I had a truly pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were extremely polite, friendly, and professional, always ready to help with a smile. The rooms were clean, well-organized, and fully equipped with everything I needed. The breakfast was varied and of high quality, served in a lovely dining area. The hotel’s location was excellent, offering easy access to local attractions and shopping centers. I will definitely choose this hotel again for future visits. Many thanks to the management and staff for providing such a great experience. Just you have to pay extra for parking

Great location to the Messe, but the rooms are extremely disappointing. Dirty floors, dirty marked up walls in the bedroom. Toilet needs a proper cleaning as well as the inside of the shower and sink. The pillows provided were so small and flat, I think using the leaves outside would have provided a better level of comfort.

I stayed at this hotel in July 2025 while attending a conference. It is very suitable for solo travelers. The room is quite small, as shown in the photos on the website, but it has everything you need. Considering the price, it is really a good deal. The hotel is very close to the conference center and just one stop away from Cologne Cathedral. I noticed some negative reviews about the front desk, but my experience was very positive. My train to Frankfurt Airport was very early in the morning, and since breakfast normally starts at 6:30, I wasn’t expecting to eat. However, the front desk kindly allowed me to have an early breakfast around 6:00. After returning to the U.S., I realized I had forgotten to request a detailed invoice. I called the front desk, and they sent it to me within about five minutes. Overall, I recommend this hotel for solo travelers who don’t expect luxury rooms or facilities but want a convenient, budget-friendly stay.
Baoye H — Google review
Our experience at this hotel was unfortunately quite disappointing. First, the lady at the front desk was rude and unwelcoming. When we asked if we could quickly grab something from our bags before storing them in the luggage room, she rolled her eyes at us and acted like we were a major inconvenience. Besides, one of us had an injury and needed a bandage, but the hotel didn’t even have a basic first aid kit available. For a hotel, this is not just inconvenient, it’s a safety issue. The rooms were hot, with no air conditioning provided. Sleeping was difficult, especially during the warmer nights. The location is also quite far from the city center, which made getting around more of a hassle than we expected. Considering the price we paid (157 euro) the value just wasn’t there. Between the poor service, lack of basic amenities, uncomfortable rooms, and the inconvenient location, we expected much better. Sadly, we wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to others.

Dank. The showers are weirdly placed within the bedroom so if youre sharing a room with a friend say goodbye to privacy. The toilet light is on a timer that last 30 seconds so be prepared to wave your arms like a lunatic while taking a dump. The staff on reception are rude and abrupt, particularly the blonde woman in the breakfast hall who kept screaming at me asking for my room number for a breakfast I wasn't eating, I was just sitting with a friend. Its about half hour walk from all the bars, which to be honest makes for a weekend with a lot of walking if you're their for leisure, annoyingly far if youre there on the lash (I was at a stag do). Only upside to this hotel was it was fairly clean however wouldn't ever stay at an Ibis again.
Clifford L — Google review
Very basic but guess that comes with the price. Location okay. Service was very good and staff friendly. Worst thing is that the rooms do not have a kettle which i thought all hotels did even if they didn't supply any tea/coffee.

Hotel Flandrischer Hof is a laid-back accommodation option located in the heart of Cologne's Belgian Quarter. It offers a variety of rooms, from budget-friendly to luxurious suites, catering to business travelers as well as individual and group reservations. The hotel features conference facilities with modern technology and is conveniently situated near Rudolfplatz and the Ludwig Museum. Additionally, it provides allergy-friendly rooms, a restaurant, and is within walking distance of attractions such as the Cologne Cathedral.
My husband and I recently stayed at Hotel Flandrischer Hof in Cologne, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome with their warm hospitality and professionalism. One of the highlights was the delicious breakfast buffet—a great variety of fresh pastries, cheeses, cold cuts, and hot dishes, all served in a cozy atmosphere. The hotel also has a lovely bar where we enjoyed an evening drink before heading out. Overall, Hotel Flandrischer Hof exceeded our expectations in every way. If you’re looking for a stylish, comfortable, and well-located hotel in Cologne, this is the perfect choice. We will definitely be returning on our next visit! Highly recommended!

Prime Location, but the Bed... Not So Much! I recently stayed at this hotel during my visit to Cologne, and while the location was unbeatable, the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. Let's start with the positives—the location is truly one of the best in the city. Just steps away from major attractions and easy access to public transport, it made exploring Cologne a breeze. Whether you’re heading to the cathedral, nearby cafes, or shopping streets, you couldn’t ask for a better base. For that alone, I would give the hotel 5 stars without hesitation. Now for the downside: the bed was unfortunately a big letdown. Despite the room being clean and well-maintained, the bed was so uncomfortable that it really affected my sleep. After a long day of sightseeing, I was hoping for a cozy place to rest, but I found myself tossing and turning all night. This was a major drawback for me, especially since a good night's sleep is a top priority when I choose a hotel. 1 star for the bed, and it’s the reason why I sadly won’t be staying here again. The view from my room also left something to be desired. It wasn't the worst, but nothing particularly memorable either. In conclusion, this hotel excels in location and cleanliness, but the bed quality needs serious improvement. I truly wanted to love this place and even considered giving it another try, but unfortunately, the poor bed experience has taken it off my list for future visits to Cologne. However, if location is your top priority, this could still be a solid option for you.

I think your experiences will vary depending on the room you’re assigned. Based on other people’s pictures, I realize some guests are assigned modern, renovated rooms, while others (like me) are assigned old, rundown, spartan rooms. I was particularly surprised by: - the many steps in between the room, the elevator, and the reception. Definitely an accessibility issue. - the NOISE coming from the streets. Crazy football fans, couples arguing at 5 am, motorcycles, you name it. Even if you knew that the hotel was in the Belgian Quarter, this was overwhelming. - lack of AC and a mini fridge. If I tried to close the window to block off the obnoxious noises, the room would get very hot and stuffy very quickly. -a tiny flimsy mattress with no back support…for a 100 euro per night room. I do think that the room was very clean and the reception desk was kind. But at this price point, I expected a lot more.

Top service, friendly Personel starting from the reception. Location is amazing as it's close to everything. My single business room was clean, spacious enough for me, no carpet (Thank God) and quiet. I really loved it and will definitely be staying there whenever I'm in Köln.

Very good experience staying here. The reception people were welcoming and the hotel is close to the underground/tram. The breakfast was underwhelming. Not many options but whatever was there was good. Sometimes it's a bit loud in the street. I woke up a few times due to drunk people shouting and there were cleaning machines in the morning. However, these are beyond the hotel's control. Overall, i would stay again. Nice hotel.

Laid back hotel, with expectational service. The rooms are nice and big. Washroom's a big plus. Wish they could've had a little refrigerator in the room. All in all, loved the stay and would 100% recommend.

Perfect for our needs. 3 x double rooms which we were able to separate into twin beds. Great location in the heart of a trendy district with nice bars, but also close enough to the older part of town. Clean rooms, and receptionists were very friendly and helpful. Great trip to Cologne. Would definitely stay here again
Tom R — Google review
Particularly unpleasant experience due to a receptionist who made threats toward my husband and later myself. On top of that, the prices for this hotel have skyrocketed over the years, yet you get nothing in return—quite the opposite, actually. Poorly laid out room, small TV, dirty carpet, towels that smelled bad, cheap supplies and lots of street noise, day and night. To make matters worse, we had only lukewarm water to shower with throughout our entire stay. Breakfast is supposed to run until 11 a.m. on weekends, but if you arrive at 10:15, there’s hardly anything left and what’s still there is dried out and unappetizing. For a little more cash, there are far better hotels in that same lively area.

Centro Hotel Ayun in Cologne is a trendy 3-star accommodation located just a short drive from the Wallraf-Richartz Museum. The hotel offers sleek rooms with free Wi-Fi and a contemporary bar. Despite some mixed reviews about the room aesthetics and amenities like air conditioning, guests appreciated the cleanliness and quietness of the rooms. The hotel's proximity to St. Urban and Cologne Zoo makes it convenient for exploring nearby attractions.
We stayed there 3 nights. The room was okay, pretty ugly with a view to the backyard but calm, we slept good, although pillows were not the best. No AC. Very tiny bathroom can fit only 1 person at a time. The breakfast was quite nice, but they take time to refill food though. 25 min walk to the centre, 5 min to the train station, Lidl 7 min walk.

we had several issues with our rooms. The shower backs up and I had 3 in of water in the bathroom. The refrigerator didn't work, the safe was locked and unusable. Coffee or Tea was not available in the room and they tried to charge us for it in the evening. 3 nights were horrible but no other choice. We wanted to be close to the Fair to avoid the taxi, but when you calculate it .. the only good thing.

One of the cheapest options to rent a whole hotel room inside the city. The service is great, it's allowed to keep the luggage before check-in and after check-out. The staff is friendly and make their work properly. Location isn't convenient, there is an abandoned factory next to the hotel, where people don't feel safe, especially nights (don't know about the real crime rate but still it's a bit frightening). The rooms have everything what travelers need, however it's a bit small for two people. There were some insects inside (but considering that it was the end of spring, I guess it's okay). The furniture has definitely seen a lot. So generally the hotel is okay but I wouldn't return there.

This was a last minute booking for a trip to the Christmas markets. We booked the deluxe and looking at the other reviews I would say that it's definitely worth paying a bit extra for the deluxe. Absolute massive room, modern bathroom, comfy bed and a very good heating system for December! It's the first time I have stayed in a hotel with no tea/coffee facilities in the room. We had a little fridge and with Lidl a short walk away we got some drinks and kept them cool in the fridge. Do not try and book in a minute early as they will make you sit and wait until 2 pm exactly! The hotel is in the worst location. Its in the middle of what seems to be the industrial area, we felt very unsafe walking back to the hotel at night! The hotel does look better on the inside, the outside definitely needs a lick of paint. The nearest bus station was quite a walk away and the walk to the centre was miles away with loads of homeless people along the way. The hotel staff was friendly though.

I had a one might stay in here. The bed and pillow are comfortable. Lights in the room is very unevenly distributed and can nit make the brighter in a good way. The cleaning of the bathroom was average. Overall experience was okay. The breakfast was included and was reasonably okay.

Parking: Advertised on the website that there is parking for guest (additional fee, which is to be expected) but upon arrival and waiting in line for 35 minutes we were told there was no parking. Service: Service was rude and snappy. No " Welcome how are you, how can we help?" Just "Identification". There was a form we needed to fill out that was shoved towards us with little to no explanation. Rooms: The rooms are small, cramped and noisy. The beds are super stiff and you can feel the springs and they are very creaky. The view is very nice if you like train tracks. The train goes right past the windows.
J V — Google review
This was my second time at Centro Hotel Ayun and again I was disappointed with the hotel. This would be my last time here. The area where the hotel is located doesn't have pretty much any service. No grocery store, no decent restaurant and all in all the area is still (like it was 4 years ago) a giant landfill/construction yard. The hotel itself is pretty outside. Inside it's a bit dated. Breakfast isn't included with the room. If you pay for it you will get a very bland serving which wasn't worth the money. The fact that there are no grocery stores near you can't even just walk and get something. Closest one is around 10 mins by car. The rooms are modern with a good bed. Some rooms have ugly views to the backyard and some (mostly from the third froor) you get a view to the nearby street. Nothing special. The wifi is free and unprotected. Be sure to pick the right one. It works randomly and of course isn't that fast. The bathroom is ok for one person but for two it's just too small. The biggest issue is that the room doesn't have a minibar. Reception sells Coca-Cola, Sprite and Fanta (for 2,50€ per bottle) but you can't get water. Anywhere. The whole hotel does not sell any water in bottles. The rooms do not have a possibility to iron your clothes. My most recent room had an AC which worked fine. If you are a light sleeper be ready for the trains. The trains will get you at night. All in all a very disappointing experience. Can't even give much praise to the reception which just does it's work and nothing else. A bit robotic I would say. If you want it cheap and don't mind about the negatives it's a nice place to stay. If you need anything else I would just pick something else.

Really not great looking rooms. Small! Nice lobby. Took us 3x room changes to get one that didn't stink or have weird beds with pee stains. Last room they gave us was under a bridge with trains and very noisy. Manager (with the glasses) very kind and helpful. Still not super satisfied. Also not in the city center by a long stretch. You need a car or taxi to go anywhere. Worth $50 max.

Great stay! The hotel is in a fantastic location, just a short walk from the train station. The rooftop area is a lovely bonus, perfect for relaxing. We appreciated the free coffees in the morning, and the room was spotless and very comfortable. Would definitely stay again!

Fantastic staff (particularly the fella with the cap!). Great vibe inside the central areas, rooms and outside seating. Very clean, tidy and trendy. Room was a good size with a really comfy bed. Despite overlooking the train track there was no sound at all which was excellent. And throughout the hotel it was quiet and chilled. Bit of a strange set up with teas and coffee; it’s only available between 11:30pm-11am with none in the room (I’m clearly showing what country I’m from 😂) but the staff were very accommodating in sorting me out, outside the free tea/coffee time when I asked. Didn’t have breakfast as I prefer to explore but what I saw in the morning looked fresh and delicious. Cold filtered water always on tap. The street it is on is a little dirty but I saw quickly this is quite common throughout Cologne, a little rough around the edges with a big mixture of people. It is only a few minutes walk to the Cathedral. I will 100% stay here again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had a truly excellent and memorable stay at this hotel in Cologne. Everything from start to finish was perfect. The atmosphere was welcoming, the rooms were comfortable, and the service was outstanding. A very special thank you to the amazing staff who made my experience even more enjoyable — Božo, Heinrich, Veronica, and the rest of the team. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail really stood out and made me feel at home. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cologne and will definitely be returning in the future. Already planning my stay here again for next year. Highly recommended.

The rooms are excellent, well kept and comfortable, and the showers are clean and large! The pressure in the shower is good and the temperature was hot. The bed was comfortable and had separate blankets for me and my partner, as I’m learning is the German way! It’s only a 9 minute walk to the cathedral and the city centre, which is really convenient and only 4 minutes to the Eigelsteintorburg, which is very handy for the walking tour. There is underground parking which is a rarity and it’s very secure. The hotel lobby is nice and operates 24 hours, with snacks etc.

It was my first time at Cologne and I'm fully satisfied of my stay at URBAN LOFT. Very close to the cathedral, the train station and with a lot of restaurants, cafés and stores next at proximity, it is well located. The hotel room is very clean, a comfy bed, a relatively big bathroom. Friendly staff, was helpful when we requested service. I definitely recommend this place and will book there in the future!

Had a nice 1-night stay here. Staff here is super friendly and responsive. The hotel is on a bit of an iffy street (though I never felt unsafe there…just a bunch of people always hanging around there at all hours) but located very closely to the train station which is convenient. Room was good overall but some finer points with cleaning can be addressed: for example, there was a pretty big stain on the chair.

The hotel room was really clean, albeit small. The bathroom.didn't have many surfaces to put toiletries on. Also, we had requested the beds to be separate, apparently that doesn't exist in this hotel. This is not the fault of the hotel, but of the company that booked it. So if you aren't willing to share a bed, this isn't for you. Breakfast had a big variety and the times are until 10.30 am, no that you don't have to wake up atthe crack of dawn to get something. The hotel has a very green, no waste set up which was great (the wood room cards instead of plastic was a very nice touch as well). The staff was very friendly and it is well situated 7 mins walking from Köln Hbf. I, however, don't find it worth 135 euros/night worth.

We found this place in the middle of the night, checked in at midnight. Good impressions, room was about €85, clean, spacious. Check in was quick and efficient. Staff speaking English. Security codes on room doors, so safe! 2 minutes from the motorway, yea, altogether good option. Used to sleep in the car, but not anymore!

The hotel in general was fine, it has a good price quality ratio, you can check out whenever (as it is not needed), and it is in a good spot to reach as it was close to the highway, and surrounded by (food)shops and gasstations. The rooms were fine, bathroom was nice and modern, but there were a few issues. The room was dusty and dry, and the hotel obviously did not have a "quiet after ... hours" policy as people comming back were often loud even after 23:00 or 24:00. We did not sleep verry well because of this. The worst part was finding a sock under the bed that was not even ours.. Another anoyance was the fact the the hotel itself did not have enough parking spots, and we were lucky that we could barely fit in a spot between 2 mercedes with our small car. Again over all a fine hotel for the price, but definately has some downsides.

The check-in was very disappointed. I know it's the hotel policy to check in at 3 pm, but if the rooms are available, I think you can let people in their rooms half an hour or an hour earlier. I arrived at 2:30 pm and was asked 50 euros to check in before 3. On the terrace outside there were 100 people it the same situations. Most of them were Romanians fans who travelled+1000 km for the football match. We would have loved to have an hour to rest, before going to the meeting point at 4pm at fan zone. Moreover, if you only let people check in at 3, you need to check in 100+ people at the same time, and a huge queue was formed. Also, given the fact that you had a lot of supporters, you should have prepared better. After the game we wanted to have a few beers on your lovely terrace, but there were no more. We had to take a 60 euros back and forth Uber to the city center to enjoy a few pints after the match.

I booked a stay at this hotel for me and my partner. I spoke to someone the day before our stay stating I had paid for early check in. I stated we was arriving in Cologne early on the day and would be arriving at the hotel at 10.45/11 so an hour earlier than early check in. I asked if it would be okay to check in at 11 if the room was ready. I was told by a lady that that was perfectly fine. When I arrived at the hotel at 10.45 I was then told by 2 rude members of staff this was not possible. Furious that we had a long day of travelling from the UK and my partner wanted to sleep and was told we had to wait an hour for the room. We was told "It is not possible for this to happen" even though they told us the room was ready and vacant. I asked to speak to a manager and was told I had to write a review online. This made me more angry because that isn't dealing with my complaint in person. So I demanded to speak to the manager , after this the workers were on the phone to the manager to sort this. I waited another 30minutes for them to then say we can let you in the room. Did not appreciate being lied to by the staff when clearly I could have been let into the room. Why did it take a phone call to a manager for me to be let into a room which was already pre agreed it would be okay to be let into our room an hour earlier. This was awful service in my opinion. When we got keys we then had the worker tell us "by the way this means room will be non refundable" this is ridiculous. Why would it be non refundable when you the hotel have made this error with my booking. Not happy with the experience. Would recommend if you are in a similar situation you ask for a manager over the phone so it can be sorted properly. Clearly communication is not working well in this establishment and has led to this awful customer service. Couldn't fault the room was clean and tidy only negative was the TV remote didn't work properly . But that is it. Great room but service awful.

Hotel is very conveniently located 15min to Cologne City Center, lots of parking options included in the price. Room was spacious, clean with comfortable bed, modern bathroom with nice shower. Heating and A/C can be regulated and adjusted from within the room, which is convenient. Reception staff is friendly and communicative. Overall great experience!

Perfect location for a stopover en route from the UK to Austria. Good breakfast, nice rooms, good service. Only issue we had was that one of our 2 rooms stank of smoke (yes it's a non-smoking hotel). It was too late into the night to change rooms when we arrived and we slept well, but not ideal.

Awesome experience at this hotel. We stayed for one night. We got the family room for 4 of us girls. 1 large bed and 2 twins in another room. The shower and toilet are separated. Good location with restaurants right near by and Dom / train station only 10 min walk away. Looked to be good breakfast buffet and bar but didn’t try it in the hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again!

We traveled as a family of 5 so the family room was perfect. Very clean and comfortable and the staff was helpful and friendly. Very nice breakfast choices. This hotel is a short stroll to the train station, cathedral, chocolate museum, and other attractions. We had a really nice dinner at XII Apostle, which is a very short walk.

Great Location. Friendly Staff. Room a Decent Size. Recommended. Just be aware that the Fridge is very small and that the Windows must be closed to allow the Air- Conditioning to work.
Simon — Google review
Great room within our budget which had everything we needed for our short stay. Very friendly and helpful staff, and excellent location close enough to the sites but just slightly removed and close to the train station.
Katrina G — Google review
Super value for money, nice beds and great but still quiet location. Walking distance to everything. Parking right next to the hotel, we paid 30 eur for over 2 days. We only missed an electric kettle, nice small fridge with free water bottles

We have stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. It is very clean, comfortable with very friendly staff, beautiful place and great breakfast. The location and access to city centre and public transport is excellent.

Room was clean, not as spacious but enough for me to do what I needed. Free water. Last night was not great as AC wasn’t working and it was hot the whole day outside otherwise, good enough for a short stay in Cologne.
Vic C — Google review
We loved this hotel! It was so clean and quiet, unlike many places we've stayed. Plus, it was right around the corner from a main plaza and plenty of great restaurants. The staff was a delight as well. We'd stay here again and wish there were other CityClass hotels in other cities besides Cologne. It was that good.

Hotel im Leskanpark in Cologne is a contemporary accommodation option located near St. Norbert Kirche and Tram Museum Thielenbruch. Situated in the Dellbruck district, this modern hotel offers amenities such as a gym, sauna, and allergy-friendly rooms. The stylishly furnished rooms feature comfortable beds and attractive bathrooms. Guests can enjoy a simple yet good breakfast buffet and take advantage of the free parking nearby.
I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was clean and tidy, and the daily service was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my visit, which made the experience even better. The location is great — it’s very close to the train station, which is super convenient. However, it can be a little tricky to get there by Uber since the hotel is situated inside an industrial estate. Breakfast was not great but acceptable, and it did the job for a quick start to the day. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay and would definitely use this hotel again. I’d also recommend it to friends who are looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay near the train station.
Adam A — Google review
I recently stayed at this hotel and was extremely disappointed with my experience. The air-conditioning in my room was not working, and despite complaining twice on two different days, nothing was done to fix it. Everyone seemed clueless and unable to help, which is unacceptable considering the high price of the rooms. When you pay such a premium for a business hotel, the least you expect is basic service, and a functioning air-conditioning system is definitely one of them. Unfortunately, this hotel failed to meet even the most basic standards. For the price I paid, this place deserves zero stars. I strongly advise against staying here unless significant improvements are made.
Ashwin S — Google review
Hotel is modern, clean, newly built, well decorated and stylishly furnished. Bed was comfy and room was clean. We booked room with breakfast included which was simple yet good. Staff are nice and welcoming. Checkin can be contactless (online). Facilities : Gym is simple one machine each yet during my stay it wasn’t crowded. Sauna is available by booking in advance (during our stay from 17:00 to 21:00) Train station is just outside of the hotel, it’s 15 to 29 min by train to cologne central (train ticket around 3.5 euro). Parking in area is free & there are slots available in front of hotel with electrical charging points. 10 minutes walking distance from hotel you can find REWE super market. Note : the room didn’t have water boiler (kettle) nor bar mini fridge.

Hotel was in an industrial estate which was not expected. The parking was quite limited. The rooms were large and the bathroom was really well fitted and modern. The only down side in the rooms was the pillows. They were awful. The breakfast was good. We had to walk into town to get dinner as there isn't anything really near. The staff were very friendly. Probably wouldn't chose this hotel again due to location.

A great modern hotel with comfortable beds, attractive bathrooms, good showers and excellent breakfasts. This has been my second stay here and I will return.
Jean-Pierre D — Google review
I didn't have a refrigerator in the room to cool down some water to drink, that was a bit of an inconvenience. Otherwise service and all was fine. Breakfast buffet was rather minimalistic but still got everything i needed. AC cooled down the room a bit but could've been cooler for my taste.

I really enjoyed my stay at Maison Marsil! The staff was so welcoming, they explained everything I needed to know upon my arrival. They have housekeeping every single day, which is something that I have never experienced even at the most high-end hotels! Right at the city center, everything is within walking distance. I would definitely recommend and if I visit Cologne again I certainly know where to stay! Thank you for the great experience!

Wonderful stay here. I'm amazed how quiet my room was, considering the densely populated location. The hotel recommended a nearby parking garage where I easily parked my rental car. Easy walking distance to points of interest for a gay tourist such as myself.

The receptionist as well as the owner were incredible. The attention was so great and sweet, they make me feel welcomed and comfortable. It was my second time in Köln and I would definitely choose this hotel for my staying next time. Everything was super clean, the room they gave me was so pretty and big, really worth the price. Danke schön

Very nice and comfy boutique hotel in a very good position in Altstadt Köln. Rooms are very clean, very quiet and they have all what it’s needed to have a pleasant experience. The lady at the reception, Vera, she’s very friendly and very polite. Check-in and check out we’re super easy and managed via app. So helpful! Everything went really smooth. I couldn’t enjoy breakfast, but it looked so nice and, apparently, they offer also a vegetarian alternative. A definitely place to stay if in Köln.

Best Western Plus Hotel Koeln City is a great choice for travelers, offering clean and comfortable rooms with excellent service. The hotel's location is convenient and easily accessible, making it a good option for those looking to explore the city. Guests can enjoy a comprehensive breakfast and ample parking facilities. While some rooms may benefit from renovation, the overall experience is highly satisfactory, especially considering the reasonable pricing.
Very nice and modern hotel. Nice, clean rooms. Just quite laud, so better to have ear plugs. Otherwise all good. Helpful service. I have claustrophobia, so they provided me with the room on the 1st floor with the direct access to stairs. Tasty breakfast - many choices! Bit far from the city center - 50 minutes nice walking (or 15 min by car, taxi around 15 EUR and you can book directly at the reception).
ANNA B — Google review
Great hotel, very modern and lovely staff. It is a 10 mins walk to all the amenities but if it isn't raining it is a nice walk. It has a beautiful park across the road. As breakfast's go it is good. Plus point it allows Dog for a small cost. Question is would I stay again, I would out of 10 it definitely gets a 9, and that is only because of the 10 mins walk.
Anil L — Google review
Perfect location, metro close by just 200-300 metres walk, parking was easy and comfortable. Staff was very nice and during Christmas time there were so many cookies and chocolates offered by the hotel on the reception area! It was extremely kid friendly❤️
Cherry G — Google review
The receptionist at breakfast was rude to me. I did tell him in the end that I wish that customer entrance to the buffet was handled in a less embarrassing way for the customer, but the receptionist had no remorse and just proceeded to be loud and rude.
Tatsiana T — Google review
The room itself was good it had what you needed, but very expensive for the money. In general the hotel is good, but the people were very direct and not necessarily 5 starts worth. Maybe it's a cultural differences. Breakfast is also extremely expensive. But the location is amazing especially for Muslims with the mosque being so close. 10 min walk away
Zudofeathers — Google review
A standard hotel, you know exactly what you’re getting and probably good for somewhere just to get your head down. Air conditioning is terrible, though. But in an amazing location, near a really cool neighbourhood and very central to the centre of the city.
Jordan M — Google review
+ Nice hotel, clean rooms - some of the stuff are rude. - Automatic check-in : i dont wanna learn a new app just for a night stay 🤦‍♂️ - bad integration with platforms such as travel perks, would not recommend if you use such an app for booking
B A — Google review
Located within a good walking distance to the tram station, getting in and around the city was very easy. The hotel lobby was clean and well kept. Depending on the time of the day, there was a short queue at reception for check-in, check-out, or any help /support required. Our check-in was extremely long as there was a bit of mix-up at the hotel. Staff was nice, friendly, and ensured he got it all sorted in good time. Rooms were clean and neat, and for the coffee lovers, there was a wide variety of options in the room. We found the rooms a bit hot as weather was warm for winter and the air conditioning was not yet turned on. Breakfast was buffet style with a good variety of options for all. All in all, we had an okay time here

Situated less than 1.4 km from the colossal Gothic Cologne Cathedral, it also boasts easy access to the Cologne Exhibition Centre via the nearby underground station. Guests can enjoy Italian cuisine at the on-site restaurant or unwind at the karaoke cocktail bar.
A good hotel! Excellent location for shopping. Great for nightlife. The Cologne Exhibition Centre is directly accessible from the underground just a few metres away. The staff are polite and the rooms are clean and comfortable. I wouldn't call it a four star hotel, bit the price is fair for the location and the standard.
Andy C — Google review
Not a four star hotel, the reception looks messy, is also the breakfast and internet room with old furniture and run down decor. The room smells of air freshener and has old decorative items which fall apart. Everything is really old and broken and messy and needs a clean. Positive - staff was friendly
AK — Google review
Couldn't check in at the alloted time due to the room waiting to be cleaned. The room itself wasn't great either, was very warm but we couldn't open the window at night due to loud music coming from the clubs across the road. The water in the bathroom was very bizarre as well, there were 2 taps above the toilet that controlled the rest of the water to the bathroom. There were tears in some of the bedding. Oh, and we found a vibrator in one of the drawers, presumably left by a previous guest. Probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, and even though it was cheap you still expect a certain standard. Had I stayed here alone and without the company of friends I imagine I would have been appalled by this hotel.
Jake M — Google review
Booked through Hotels.com and accidentally canceled a non refundable booking the same day I booked (obviously my fault) but even though I called minutes later they would not work with me at all. I offered to rebook for the exact same price and same date but they refused completely. So essentially they took my 100$ and didn't do anything, would hate to see their customer service in person.
Jason F — Google review
Our room had a balkony, all necessary furniture and a little fridge. But at the same time it was not cleaned well during our stay. Staff was very friendly. I think I would stay there again.

Keep away!! They profesional layers... during my stay, and electrical shortcut in the middle of the night made us move to a different hotel... this hotel asked us to pay for that night in another hotel and to keep the recieve so they could give us the money back... they never did... they have bad installations, make you go to another hotel and having to pay the extra night?? This people have no word, keep away from this place

Awful. Room was dirty, cold and the bathroom flooded when I used the shower. They also charged cleaning for another guests room to my credit card with no permission. Avoid this terrible place at all costs.

Nestled within the stunning 18th-century Schloss Bensberg, Althoff Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg is a luxurious retreat that exudes romance and elegance. Overlooking the picturesque bay of Cologne, this grand hotel boasts breathtaking views of the iconic Cologne Cathedral. With 84 beautifully appointed rooms and 36 exquisite suites—including an opulent Presidential Suite featuring two bedrooms, a lavish marble bathroom with a private sauna, and a Jacuzzi—guests are treated to unparalleled comfort.
I stayed here in May 2025, my experience was amazing. This hotel is a great place to stay if you're looking to visit the nearby city Köln, and you can actually see it in the distance from the front lawn. Originally, I had booked to stay for a weekend while touring Germany, but due to some clerical errors I somehow booked on a day the hotel was closed to the public. They quickly made amends via upgrading my room for the days I was staying there, to a suite, and paying for me to stay in one of their sister hotels nearby. They also provided me transport to the sister hotel with a private driver. The dedication to service is outstanding, and I was very very pleased with this. I also was personally greated by Jörg Stricker, the hotels manager, and he ensured my stay would be perfect despite the issues with booking. We had breakfast and dinner here at the hotel and it was spectacular. It definitely met its 5-Star expectations. I hope to stay here again soon! If you're looking at staying near Köln, this is the place to get away from the tourism, and into an amazing experience.
Logan W — Google review
I wasn’t satisfied with my stay. The positives: The building is well maintained from the outside, the lobby is nicely laid out, the reception staff was friendly, and the hotel is conveniently located not far from Cologne. The negatives: The interior design lacks a consistent concept, and I repeatedly noticed areas where cost-cutting was evident. We were woken up in the morning by loud construction noise from an event being set up, which lasted for hours. The breakfast was disappointing—the atmosphere felt more like a train station than a hotel, and the buffet, oddly laid out in the corridor, felt out of place. All in all, the price does not reflect the quality offered. I cannot recommend this hotel.
Marcillo F — Google review
Very good 5-star grand hotel with an amazing view on the city of Cologne. It's got grandeur of French palaces and a historical interior design, including the rooms. My room was spacious, clean and tidy. Spa and facilities were excellent, as was the service. In the expansive building you'll find a bar, café and two restaurants, all of which with great, high quality options in drinks and food. WiFi was fast, AC working well. Only downside in my opinion was the breakfast (-1 star): although offering lots of variety of cold and warm dishes, I've experienced better setups in other 5-star hotels. Otherwise highly recommended.
TH3 T — Google review
A wonderful Castle Hotel superbily laid out in a quiet suburb of Cologne. Spacious and well appointed rooms, great views, fine Italian dining, a sumpteous breakfast buffet. Well managed and professional, friendly staff
R W — Google review
Beautiful Hotel with Room for Improvement in Guest Communication We stayed one night at this stunning hotel with a group of motorcycling friends and their partners. The building, the rooms, the wellness area, the restaurant, and the breakfast were all top-notch — exactly what you'd expect from a five-star hotel. Upon checkout, I accidentally left a pair of leather shoes in the room — my favorite shoes I use after riding. I realized this at our next hotel and tried to contact Schloss Bensberg by phone to ask if they could send them to me. Every attempt led to an automated message saying the lines were busy, followed by a virtual assistant who couldn’t help. This went on repeatedly. I then sent several emails, but even after three days, I received no response. Eventually, I tried calling again and, after persistently bypassing the virtual assistant multiple times, I finally reached a human staff member. I explained the situation, and he said he would check with housekeeping and get back to me. It’s now been four days, and I’ve heard nothing. For a five-star hotel — and a group bill of over €4,000 for one night including dinner — this kind of service is simply unacceptable. Guests deserve real human contact, not a chatbot. At the very least, I would appreciate confirmation that my shoes were found and information on when they can be shipped. Update: After posting my public review, I was contacted by the hotel management. Unfortunately the shoes were gone. A pitty, as I’m sure they were left behind in the hotel. I was offered an extra stay as a compensation, which I respectfully declined, as I just wanted the shoes which I left behind.
Tony M — Google review
I’ve stayed at Schloss Bensberg many times and each visit reminds me why it’s one of my favorite hotels in Europe. The building itself is absolutely stunning, a historic castle with incredible attention to detail and elegance throughout. The views from the rooms are fantastic, especially those overlooking the Rhine valley and Cologne Cathedral. Service is always exceptional and the staff consistently go out of their way to help and are always warm and friendly. The spa is a true highlight: spacious, well designed, with an indoor pool, sauna, and steam room that make it easy to unwind. The nearby town of Bensberg is quaint and charming, perfect for a quiet stroll or a local bite. Cologne is just a short drive away, making this an ideal retreat that’s still close to the city. Over the years, Schloss Bensberg has truly come to feel like a second home. Highly recommended.

Me and my wife stayed there between 23.09 until 24.09 . It was nothing less then a horror movie . They had no electricity, no runing water and no hot water,no air-con and their only defense was "it wasn't our fault" . Hotel like that should have back up water thank and power generator .I do not recommend this hotel to anybody .

Room and bathroom was clean. Only here for 1 night but still did not disappoint. The location is also very acceptable and near local clubs, bars, and shops. As for staff, Görkem and Valentine were very kind and helpful. Giving various knowledge of the local area, the German way and helping with my obvious language barrier, they also were just very fun. Thank you to you. both I wish you guys the best. Also the receptionist that helped me was very kind to myself and my group. 10/5 stars for service.

Great value for money! This hostel in Köln is a solid pick if you’re traveling with friends on a budget. The bigger the room you book, the cheaper it gets per person which is a smart setup. Breakfast is surprisingly good: well served and well looked after. Staff is friendly and does a good job keeping things in check, especially at night. They’re up and attentive when it comes to noise complaints, which helps everyone sleep better. Although the rooms can get very hot inside during summer days… Location is excellent, right near the nightlife and club scene, perfect if you’re in town to go out. All in all, a practical, affordable, and well-run place. Definitely recommend for budget travelers.

As far as hostels go A&O ticks all the boxes. The staff were very friendly and really helpful with checking in. The private room with ensuite was decently sized with comfortable mattresses and pillows. Besides some dust the room was very clean. The rooms can be quite warm as there is no AC. However, in most European countries AC is not common unless you are staying in a luxury hotel so I don't hold this against A&O. All in all I really enjoyed my stay.

Loved every bit about this hostel- one of the best hosts, employees ever Rumeysa and Mohammad from Jordan were as great as a person could be. The rooms were not at all ‘hostel’ level clean, good looking and mine had a good view. Good fellow guests a 10 on 10 recommendation. Will be back

I stayed only for one night and all went good, the USB charger on my bed didn't work but no big issue, cause I could charge my phone on the others. All good for a fair price, but I'm putting 5 stars especially because the receptionist (Mattia, if I remember correctly), was lovely and people like this really make your morning!

It’s fine - the private rooms are basic and not very comfortable, but they’re big and fairly clean. When we first arrived, our first room reeked of cigarette smoke but the staff let us move room which was good. It’s in a decent location - right near Neumarkt - and around 20min walk to Cologne Cathedral. It’s just fine - I wouldn’t rush back but it was alright for 3 nights.
Tom B — Google review
Good location, in a quiet neighborhood not too far from the city center. Quite poor quality and cleanliness for both the room and the common areas, especially with regards to the price we paid. Could be a viable choice for a 1-2 nights stay.

room and service needed improvements. the bathroom has a leaky sink and toilet and the floor would get wet after flushing and turning on the sink. i also asked if it would be possible to be in a room with at least one other woman the front desk said i had to pay for a female room. there was availability the desk just didn't care. i have stayed at A&Os in dortmund, berlin Friedrichshain, and berlin mitte and this one is by far the worst.

Stayed a week for a job at Gamescom and had a great experience! Everything is nice, but I particularly want to point out the great breakfast buffet that’s very suitable for vegans and people on a plant based diet. Everything was clearly labeled vegan and there was enough to choose from so that breakfast didn’t get boring on a one week long stay, which is rare for hotel breakfasts. The spa is also great, very modern and well maintained, and at 6€ an absolute bargain!

If you are going to the Messe (Exhibition hall) then this is perfect - right across the road! The hotel itself is nice enough - a great bar and restaurant. The rooms are a little old fashioned and tired, and could do with brightening up - but for a business trip they are fine. The bed was comfy and shower was great. Breakfast selection is very good. Great for a business trip, but I would not stay her if a pleasure trip as very corporate. Service was very good. Only a short walk (25 mins) into town, or a short tram ride.

Avoid this hotel! Dirty, old, and absolutely not a 5-star standard barely 3 at best. Service is awful, rooms are poorly equipped, and they even clean only every two days (!). The Pullman Cologne is a modern and stylish four-star hotel located in the vibrant shopping district of Cologne. It offers contemporary rooms and suites, meeting facilities, a spa for relaxation, and a bar with a terrace for unwinding. The hotel is popular among both business and leisure travelers due to its convenient location near major attractions. Guests can enjoy dining at the restaurant or ordering room service, while the top-floor bar provides a great spot for evening drinks.
My stay at Pullman cologne was amazing. The location was good - it was a 15-minute walk away from the Central Station and another 15-minute walk away from city center (Neumarkt). Additionally, its neighboring historical monuments and buildings added to the hotel’s charm. The staff members were truly helpful and really courteous. The room assigned to me was very cozy and spacious. The view overlooking my window made it even better. The food was great. Breakfast was incredible. I tried e.l.f. twice - upon arrival and my last night in the city, the food was fantastic. I tried the salmon on my first night and the white asparagus on my last night. The white asparagus with veal was a treat. Had I not been full, I could have ordered another. In my next visit, I will surely book my stay at Pullman.

Excellent hotel. I stayed here with my son and value for money is excellent. Rooms large and clean and hotel staff extremely helpful. English is spoken very well at the hotel (and pretty much everywhere in service industry). Absolutely love the city and people! Many thanks:

A lovely hotel for a stay in Cologne. The reception staff are very friendly and accommodating, and the minibar is included in the price. The rooms are spotless and cleaned daily. The location is excellent - just a 10-15 minute walk to the Cathedral and about 5-10 minutes to the Belgisches Viertel, an area full of great restaurants.

We had a fantastic weekend stay at Pullman Cologne. The hotel is clean, modern, and ideally located — just a short walk to major attractions and shopping streets. The breakfast spread was excellent with plenty of fresh options, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, making for a restful night’s sleep. A great choice for a relaxing city break.

Clean and spacious rooms with complimentary drinks. Room service breakfast was delicious except they got the order wrong the second day. They did rectify. Card machines were down so check out took a while. All the staff were wonderful

Good hotel. Room was very nicely decorated with some thoughtful gifts in the mini bar. The sauna facilities are great, easily accessible and was quiet when we used it. We found the pillows a bit too big so we asked reception for some thinner ones and they kindly provided us with some. Air conditioning in the room is very effective and nice to have. The curtains in our room had very minor damage - cuts and scratches which let through light but this did not affect the stay. Location is good however there nearest grocery shop is a little bit of a walk, especially if you want something small. Overall good experience

BEWARE if you stay at this hotel. They keep extremely fragile furniture throughout the lobby - glass chairs that shatter, crooked bar tables that will snap if you lean on them. Then they charge you for these furniture or block access to your room. My 3 year old and wife both got scared while waiting for checkin, as one of these chairs broke. My 3 year old thought they were chairs and tried to sit on them, but obviously it’s not safe. Glass shattered everywhere, we were extremely lucky nobody got hurt immediately. After that there were shards of glass in my 3 year old child’s shoes so he got a cut as well. Then the hotel sends a bill of €300 and doesn’t let us into the room unless we pay. If you have a family or children - DO NOT STAY HERE. The room itself is a bit dated - only 2 charging sockets in the bedroom and 1 in the living room. Toothbrushes and toothpaste aren’t provided. Room service is outsourced so can only take place at limited hours in the day. Laundry is outsourced too. If you even need a bottle of water in the evening at 7pm it isn’t possible. The only good feedback I have is the extremely caring staff at the front desk.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The room we had was a good size and was well-equipped. Decor was a little tired and could do with an update but the bed was comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent and plenty of choice at breakfast.

NH Collection Köln Mediapark is a luxurious hotel located in the heart of Cologne, offering modern rooms with elegant decor. The hotel provides stunning views of an ornamental lake and the surrounding greenery, with some rooms even offering vistas of Kolner Dom's magnificent twin spires. Situated next to Cologne Tower, it boasts excellent transport links and is within walking distance of attractions such as Cologne Cathedral, museums, and churches.
The service and rooms were great. The selection at the breakfast was good. I really liked the idea of the voucher for the hotel bar for every night you don’t want to have your room cleaned. The parking at the hotel is pretty tight though.

A nice hotel with overall quiet rooms and a lot of green to look over at the back. Only minus in the story is the low water pressure in the shower and that it wasn’t able to heat the shower enough as well. Rooms are clean and well furnished with good beds. It’s a decent walk to the city and since cars can’t come to the front of the hotel (only via a tunnel) it’s a quiet and peaceful entrance. I would recommend this hotel, only tip is to look in to the showers!

Great and friendly service. Room was good, if a little humid for some reason, but otherwise great! Breakfast had a nice selection of foods too. The underground parking space is quite hard to find and navigate, though. That’s more of a Köln problem, but it will impact your stay here.

We had a wonderful stay here. The staff was very accommodating to all our needs. The room was clean and more spacious than expected, with a good city view. The breakfast was lovely with some menu options that we tried and loved as well. Everything what we needed was within walking distance. If you plan to use the gym, bring light and airy clothing as the space is also connected to the sauna which makes it quite warm.

Room was super clean and in great condition. The park view is stunning especially in the autumn months. The location is convenient, there are restaurants, bars, grocery stores nearby. The front desk staff was friendly and professional but the people who make the experience very special are the breakfast staff and John the guest relations manager so a million thanks to them.

The Cologne Marriott Hotel is a modern and intimate 5-star hotel conveniently located within walking distance of the train station, Ludwig Museum, and the grand Gothic Cologne Cathedral. The rooms are well-maintained and equipped with modern amenities. Guests can enjoy great breakfasts at the in-house 'crazy brasserie' or opt for access to the excellent Executive floor lounge. Business travelers will appreciate the high-speed internet access and conference facilities.
We stayed at the Cologne Marriott and had a wonderful experience. The room was very spacious, modern, and comfortable—perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The hotel’s location is ideal, just steps from the river, close to the main train station, and only a short walk to the magnificent cathedral. It’s a great choice for both convenience and comfort when visiting Cologne.

The experience was great from the moment we entered the hotel and were welcomed warmly by Nicholas who checked us in and offered us helpful advice as it was our first time in Cologne. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable and we always had a good night’s sleep. The WiFi was stable even though our room was at the far end of the hallway. There is a 24hr gym and sauna at the basement floor. The location is very convenient because it is close to the cathedral and the central station and also within walking distance to the Rhine, the old town (Altstadt), and the shopping district (Neumarkt). We will definitely stay here again.

Staff: The staff were simply incredible! We arrived a bit later in the evening with our tired little daughter, and they were extremely accommodating ,which really helped. Even when our credit cards had issues, they remained patient and kind throughout. When we checked out, they even gave our daughter a small goody bag such a thoughtful gesture! Breakfast: The breakfast was absolutely amazing. The variety of choices was astounding, everything was fresh and perfectly presented, and the entire area was spotless. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Location: Fantastic location, right in the heart of the city, close to the train station and just a short walk from the magnificent Cologne Cathedral (a must-see!). Bar: The hotel bar is a great spot to unwind after a day in the city. It has a relaxed atmosphere, good drinks, and friendly service, perfect for ending the evening on a pleasant note. Rooms: The rooms were very clean and comfortable, though slightly dated. It might be worth considering some updates in the future, especially for the bathrooms. Overall: We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Cologne!

Perfectly located near the central station and main points of interest. The rooms are spotless and well maintained, and the staff is very supportive — special mention to the Syrian girl at reception, who greeted me with a big smile and was kind in every way. There’s a gym available, though I didn’t use it — no pool available, unfortunately. Breakfast is decent, but there aren't many sweet gluten-free options. Overall, a very positive experience and a hotel I would gladly recommend.

The only negative it takes so much time waiting to the reception. Hope they solve this because we were waiting for 10 minutes plus just to pay for a water…

The worst Marriott we had ever stayed worldwide, this particular property shouldn’t even bear the Marriott brand, absolutely disgraceful. We arrived in the evening for a special birthday celebration but the experience at the hotel had ruined it completely. Firstly, no one paid any attention to guests who required assistance with luggage and we waited over 15 minutes to check-in as the front desk staff were too “engaged” with other guests on their chats, unacceptable. Even though I had informed the hotel it’s a birthday trip but nothing was done, not a single bit, not even a handwritten card or note. I wonder what was the point for sending the message beforehand? The room was dated, stuffy and stinks of mouldy odour. Originally we thought it was room being unused and should better once we turn the air conditioning on and maybe open some windows. We were WRONG, the air conditioning doesn't even work no matter what temperature you set it for, because of this we had to call the “at your service” Line at 04:00 in the morning because we couldn't sleep due to this uncomfortable temperature. (We also opened the windows to cool the room down but the only thing coming in was the noise from the streets) A fan was provided but not the sleep, the room remained stuffy throughout the night. We didn't want to kick a fuss but the experience on the second evening pushes us over the edge. Used the mobile app to request some extra towels and pillows but not had any responses for more than 20 minutes. When we called back we were told they would come in 5 minutes but we knew it wouldn’t happen because we also had similar issues the evening before so we had to ask to speak to the duty manager. She was polite and apologetic as she said it was embarrassing to learn so many things had gone wrong, also agreed the room had a strong mouldy odour but we mentioned it would be too late to change the room. What I asked was to speak to the general manager the next morning before checking out and was promised she would brief this manager Lisa in, also noted down the time of our departure of 11:30. When we went down to the lobby to check out and ask to speak to Lisa she was nowhere to be seen, the staff told us she was in a meeting and asked what this chat is about. We couldn't believe our ears when we heard this, was she aware of the severity of the situation? When people complain they are giving others a chance to rectify mistakes, when others don't want to admit nor face their mistakes, you get this. I asked Lisa to give me a call as soon as she is out of the meeting so we can address these issues but never heard a thing. This really is unacceptable and disgusting. For €250 a night you can stay at somewhere way better than this place has to offer, with staff who are way more attentive and an air conditioning that actually does what it was designed for, perhaps also a room that was decorated after the 1980’s!

Location is perfect- right next to the Lanxess, and not too far from Cologne airport. The rooms are spacious, spotless and modern. The lobby is comfortable and an easy place to relax before or after the day. I have to say a massive thank you to the reception staff and housekeeping staff. The reception staff are helpful and friendly and have made us feel well accommodated. The housekeeping staff are attentive, friendly and do an incredible job - our room is spotless.

I got there for attending a fair. Got an upgrade to my room and really enjoyed the quiet and relaxing flair of the Radisson. I will return. Only downsides: No quiet workspaces available after checkout, so I had to work from the Design Offices until my train left for home. And some machines in the Gym were broken. The gym was my main reason for selecting this hotel over the others. That’s why I reduced the service stars by two. Everything else was top notch.

Stayed here for 10 days during Gamescom and had a fantastic experience! The staff went above and beyond—keeping our room spotless, learning our team’s food and drink preferences, and even offering a special Gamescom menu which was a nice touch. The location couldn’t be better, right across the street from the convention center, which saved us from early mornings and long commutes. At first, I was a little confused about needing to put the room keycard in the slot near the door for power—I even ended up taking my first shower in the dark before asking the front desk (who explained it with a smile). I would have preferred a queen or king bed instead of two twins pushed together since you do sink a little in the middle, but honestly that was minor compared to how great everything else was. The food was excellent, the drinks were tasty, and the staff stayed incredibly friendly and professional despite the chaos of Gamescom week. Overall, this hotel really added to the positive experience of the trip—I’d absolutely stay here again for future conventions.

Although it is near an industrial area, we chose this hotel as it was close to the football stadium (for an International match). It was also literally a 10min (or less) walk to the tram & bus stop. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but at a local bakery across the road. The room was a little dated, but it was comfortable. My only negative would be the shower over the bath, which is difficult to get in & out of, as it is close to the sink & the bath was very slippy to stand in.

The hotel is clean and well located (we travel into the city with our car) Breakfast is a little expensive but you have all lot of choices, so for those who eat a lot in the morning, I recommend The hotel can be recommended for those who are in family, some noise from the children but not annoying, you can sleep in peace after 11 pm (for our case). The parking is not free : 11 euros/day, it was not mentioned during the booking (or we may have missed it), The overall price is OK

Hotel is easy to reach from Koeln centre, takes about 25 mins on tram and it's close to tram and bus stop (5 min walk). Also walkable distance to Rhein Energie STADION (about 30 mins), and there is a bus every 30mins to the stadium from right beside hotel. Beside a major shopping centre with couple of large supermarkets. Check-in was quick, very friendly helpful staff. We were about an hour too early for check-in but the room was ready and we got checked in immediately. Rooms are a bit dated, but quiet, clean and comfortable. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Impeccably clean. Breakfast was delicious and love the long hours. Each room seems to have different amenities though (working a/c, fan, microwave , fridge , coffee maker) . Mine didn’t have any of those, so dinged them a star but it didn’t bother me too bad . Do wish it had a fan though. Liked the beer garden at night there too. Aldis is walking distance. The fitness room had gender neutral open shower room . Curious what the wooden bucket was for .

Unfortunately, the room had bedbugs. The first night, I was already suspicious—something felt off, and I barely slept, though I couldn’t say for sure why. The second night confirmed it: I saw bedbugs crawling all over the bed. I took a video, some pictures, and even managed to capture one. Not wanting to spend another minute in that room, I went to the reception looking for a solution. They had no other rooms available. They offered that I could sleep in the reception area, but I decided to drive home instead—a 3-hour drive in the middle of the night, which was far from ideal. On top of that, I had to throw away some of my belongings and take extra precautions with my clothes and car to avoid bringing the infestation home. To their credit, the hotel did refund my full two-night stay. I understand these things can happen. Still, given the stress, health risk, and additional costs (cancelled appointments, replacing items), I honestly expected more than just a refund. So if you're okay with the possibility of your trip being cut short and only getting your money back, then this hotel might be fine for you. Otherwise, I'd strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

We got upgraded so our room was very spacious and the staff was kind. Breakfast was good and we were also very happy that there was a buffet option for dinner since we hadn't had dinner yet when we arrived in the evening. It was very hot though and it was very difficult to cool down the room (even with the windows wide open and fresh wind coming in), so air-conditioning would have been nice.
Mathieu B — Google review
Pros: Quite clean and quiet in the room, spacious with a tub in the shower where water was hot and strong. Breakfast was great but exactly The same during our 5-night stay. Onsite parking was included without additional charge, and there are shops and supermarkets within walking distance. Cons: Lighting inside the room wasn’t bright enough, shower gels were not replenished even though we removed it from the rack, air-conditioning was down, maintenance in process as per the staff, so a bit too warm before the sun went down.

Stayed here for a few nights as I was attending both a festival and theme park. Hotel is close to public transport and shopping mall around the corner. Rooms big, albeit a bit dated (only 1 socket for phone chargers in bedroom beside bed!) but hotel is great, with very nice buffet breakfast.
Bernard M — Google review
First, there was a long queue for checking and just one person in the reception. In my opinion, it's a bad service. It was one of the hottest days in Germany, and there was no water around in the lobby or in front of the reception to drink. I didn't feel welcome in this place. Then the worst, the room had no air conditioner, no minibar, and the bottles of water in the room were super warm. Despite being offered a fan, I still think it's not worth staying here. Someone mentioned they had bedbugs.
Mahdiyeh — Google review
Disappointing stay. The room and furniture were old, the bathroom was not clean, and the towels were worn out. It was also very noisy. The AC didn’t work, and there were no vegan options. When I asked for a tea maker, I was told it’s “not an obligation” — not the kind of service you expect from a so-called luxury hotel.

If you're planning a trip to Cologne, the ibis Koeln Centrum is an excellent choice for travelers seeking comfort and convenience. This hotel features soundproof rooms equipped with flat-screen TVs, ensuring a peaceful stay amidst the city's vibrant atmosphere. Located just 1.9 km from the iconic Roman-Catholic Cathedral and close to Saint Pantaleon, it offers easy access to public transport with tram stops right outside its doors.
The hotel has an excellent location—very close to the city center and many iconic spots. The staff were truly outstanding, offering warm and attentive service throughout my stay. The front desk is open 24 hours, which is incredibly convenient. One night, when I asked the bar tender if they could help heat up some food in the microwave, they not only did so with a smile, but also thoughtfully served it on a proper plate with cutlery. That small gesture brought comfort and warmth to an otherwise hungry, sleepless night. After checking out, you are able to leave the luggage at the hotel for free without any trouble. Overall, the kindness and professionalism of the staff made my stay feel genuinely heartwarming.

Really decent hotel for the money. Staff were really friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. Parking all around and provision for high vehicles close by too. The staff get a 10/10 for them being so friendly towards our dogs. Breakfast was mega.
Mal M — Google review
The room was far too small, and noises from neighboring rooms were clearly audible. There was no waste bin in the main room—only one in the small bathroom. After the first cleaning, even the bathroom’s bin liner was removed and never replaced. The carpet in the room was not clean. On the first day, the hot water pressure was so low that it was impossible to take a shower. A maintenance worker came, attempted to fix it, and told me it would take at least 30 minutes, suggesting I take my belongings and shower in another room. On the second day, the pressure was somewhat improved, but still not ideal. I would never stay at this hotel again.

Friendly staff and I felt welcome. Clean rooms that meet my expectations. Easy process checking in and out, everything with the visit was problem free. Nice restaurants near by and good public transportation to visit other parts of Cologne. Didn't hear anything from outside the building but sounds in the corridor reached my room easily, wasn't that big of a deal because people overall where quiet in the hotel.

Good budget hotel. Room we had was ok, but bathroom too small. Location is near a road, lot of noise from tram, cars, but near the city centre. I would recommend it because of location near centre and rooms were clean nice decorated. Enjoy Köln.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything was great: the room was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and overall it was a relaxing experience. Would definitely recommend and stay again!
Denis Z — Google review
The cleanliness was excellent, and everything was spotless and gleaming. Additionally, there were views of Cologne Cathedral, and it was close to a very good Italian restaurant (Pino's Little Italy). Moreover, the hotel was very well lit. During our stay, we unfortunately encountered a series of issues that negatively impacted our experience. On the first day, the air conditioning in our room was not working. When we reported this to the hotel staff, the response was dismissive and unprofessional: we were told, with a hint of irony, that pressing two buttons would solve the issue, implying the system was functioning properly. Despite explaining that we were familiar with its operation and that the problem persisted, we were offered a fan as an alternative, equating it to air conditioning. Given the intense heat wave at the time, this solution was clearly inadequate. In fact, the temperature was so high that even the chocolate we had in the room melted. We were advised to report the issue again at the front desk the following day. We did so, but upon returning in the afternoon, the air conditioning was still not working. When we raised the issue once more, we were reprimanded for not having spoken directly with the manager, even though we had followed the instructions given by another staff member. After a somewhat tense exchange, we were finally moved to another room where the air conditioning did work. However, this new room presented a different problem: the electrical outlets were extremely stiff and difficult to use. We reported this as well and were told it would be fixed the next day, though no temporary solution was offered. As a result, we had only two functioning outlets, which was inconvenient. On a positive note, the cleaning service was excellent. That said, we noticed a discrepancy between the hotel’s signage and actual practice: the signs stated that towels would only be replaced if left on the floor, yet we always hung them on the door and they were replaced daily. This inconsistency added to our overall sense of miscommunication.

When we booked this hotel, we were prepared for all the usual quirks that come with a European budget hotel, like a small bedroom and bathroom size, no wardrobe, etc. Yet, this hotel has still managed to disappoint us. Our problems began when we first checked into the hotel. The initial booking on the OFFICIAL ibis Accor website said that we would only have to pay €375.82 for 5 days 4 nights breakfast included. We were expecting to pay higher than this amount due to the Cologne city tax, but we ended up paying €459.00, which is almost a difference of €80. We tried calculating the tax from the original price, and we still couldn’t understand why the difference was so high. When asking the older gentleman at the counter about this, he shrugged it off and vaguely suggested that the room rates at the hotel were different than the ones listed online, which is outrageous! However, as it was late at night and that old guy was the only staff member around, we decided to ask about it in the morning. A different staff member at the front desk said the discrepancy was because the website only included the price of breakfast for 1 pax instead of 2. If true, it’s so stupid that the OFFICIAL ACCOR WEBSITE would assume that a double room with 2 people would only want 1 breakfast set. The second thing that disappointed us was the bathroom. The moment we opened the lid, the entire bathroom smelt of sewer. It would be fine if we could open a window, but when we tried to, the window just dangerously swung open, as it opened downwards. From the exterior of the building we could see other people’s bathroom windows, so we knew it could be partially opened, but for some reason, our bathroom window either had to be fully closed or fully opened. Adding to that, every morning we would find that the contents of the toilet from the night before would come back up, meaning that the bad smell must be because of a plumbing issue in our room (ROOM 610). If you think that these things are tolerable, the great location of the hotel (20 minute walk from the city centre and 2 nearby train stations) and the relative affordability of the rooms are still very attractive. The breakfast was pretty decent, but keep in mind it’s the same thing everyday. It’s just a shame that the room we got was terrible. TL;DR, prices on the official website was different than at check-in by too large of a difference to chalk it up to tax, bathroom had plumbing problems, location and staff werr great.

Guests have praised the warm hospitality of the staff, who go above and beyond to ensure a welcoming atmosphere.
Perfect location for a trip to Cologne. The hotel has everything you need, nice comfy rooms, a small fitness room if you want to use it. Breakfast is good and plenty of choice. The train station is directly across from the hotel also.

It’s an okay place if you’re just staying for one night, and honestly, the location is the main reason to book. Being right next to the central station is super convenient. The hotel itself is fine—nothing special—but you really can’t beat the location!
Ornela H — Google review
With an upgraded room, service with a smile, it was always going to be a decent review. Directly opposite the train station, the location was perfect for our needs, and the triple glazing helped reduce noise levels. The area is great, with plenty of restaurants nearby. We were also blessed with a free openair concert, from Patrice. Can't be bad! By the river, there is also the chocolate factory if you are needing a fix! This is near the big(ish) wheel.

A perfect hotel with very comfortable rooms and a very comfortable bed. You will definitely rest here. The location is perfect, right across from the train station, 2 minutes from the Cathedral. I will visit this hotel again.
Jelena J — Google review
The room was very small with a very tiny bathroom. On the other side, the staff were very polite and helpful. The location is excellent, meters away from the railway station and the cathedral.

Horrible Rooms. The hotel is old and it not only shows but it also smells. The pictures on the website are absolutely misleading. The carpets in the rooms are dusty and the bathroom are dark and smells moldy. Front desk staff simply assumed I didn’t speak the language and started complaining and insulting other guests that were checking out. Location is good, close to the Cathedral and right behind the train station, so it can be pretty loud at night. Lots of homelessness and drunk people hanging around the area as well.
Leticia L — Google review
Perfect location, friendly staff and a good room with a comfortable bed and nice bathtub. No (mini)fridge to store some drinks/breakfast in but it did have a watercooker with tea and instant-coffee. The hotel is quite old, and it does show but aside from some (old) stains in the carpet it seemed very clean. Our room was at the back of the hotel and was very quiet, can't speak for rooms facing the train station however.
Marten M — Google review
My wife and I stayed here in early September 2023. We loved the location as it is very close to the cathedral and train station, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My 3 star rating comes from the fact that our room was about the size of a prison cell. The hotel (for obvious reasons) does not show a photo of the room we had. Would not stay here again.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Cologne, the Mercure Hotel Koeln City Friesenstrasse is a contemporary haven for both business and leisure travelers. With its prime location just 1.4 km from the iconic Roman-Catholic Cathedral and close to cultural gems like the NS Documentation Centre, guests can easily explore the city's rich history.
We had a night out before the titanic exhibition and wanted a hotel in a lively part of cologne. This Hotel in the Frieseviertel was perfect. Good quiet rooms, a healthy breakfast, friendly staff and nightlife just around the corner. We highly recommend the Päffgen Brewery down the road, and Scotia Whisky Store

The hotel is conveniently located near the Cathedral and public transport. There's a good variety of restaurants nearby and the staff is helpful. However the rooms need to be renovated. Lighting in my room was poor, the heating was set too high and difficult to find how to change it and the bathroom was small. The breakfast area and variety was very good.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Mercure from March 14th to 16th. We opted out of breakfast when we booked the hotel. When we checked in we agian told the front desk we do not want breakfast. On checkout we were told we needed to pay for breakfast. After telling them that we did not eat breakfast we were told they would take it off the room. That afternoon they charged us with breakfast. This place is an absolute scam. Tv didn't work we were told they'd send someone up....no one came. I asked for more coffee for the room. Front desk doesn't have coffee unless you pay for it from the machine. Rooms are dusty and old service in horrendous. Would not recommend unless you want these scam artists to take your money.

Location is great, service was very nice and attentive too. The issue here is that the hotel is a time capsule from ´90s of last century. Additionally very inconsistent rooms. We had reserved two double bed rooms. One was double and second two single beds put together. One room had many cosmetics in bathroom rohe other just two half bottles of shampoo. In one room lamp had no bulb.
Bartosz L — Google review
The entire hotel stank of sewage our whole stay. When I arrived, my bedding had multiple washed out blood stains on it. When I requested a new bedding, I was given another one with a black smear stain. The room had awful ancient carpet that was so aged it looked dirty even after being cleaned. The room in general was clearly in dire need of renovation. The only positive was that the staff were very nice.

Great Location! Especially for night life. Pubs, restaurants, shops, supermarket, clubs everything very handy. Transportation too. The accommodation was offering everything needed.

Terrible receptionist! Nice small hotel. Good location. But I have to say that the reception was terrible. The staff were very impolite!
Callum R — Google review
The location of the hotel is very convenient since it is very central. There were a few things missing from the room. The first day we arrived we had no body lotion and conditioner in the room. We did receive those immediately upon request. Our coffee was not replenished and neither were the disposable coffee cups they had in the room the first day. We had to ask for these each time. We were here for 4 nights. Otherwise the rooms were clean. However, I might be inclined to check another hotel the next time we are here.

Very helpful staff, who add a personal touch. It was a very pleasant experience. The location is very convenient from the airport, office as well close to the Cathedral. Overall enjoyed my stay.
San — Google review
We stayed at this hotel during our trip and had a mostly pleasant experience. The room was very spacious, with plenty of space to move around and a fully equipped kitchen that included all the necessary dishes and utensils — a great convenience for longer stays. The location was also excellent, within a 15-minute walk of all the major tourist attractions in the city. The staff was very kind and welcoming, which added a nice personal touch to our stay. Everything was clean and tidy, although we did see a bug (a kind of centipede) on the bed sheets the day we arrived, which was a bit unsettling. The biggest downside was the temperature in the room — it got extremely hot during the day, and unfortunately, there was no proper air conditioning. The unit provided was more of a heater/ventilator and didn’t help much with cooling, making it uncomfortable to stay inside and during the night to sleep - opening the windows was not the best choice during the night due to the street noise (all cars and motorcycles). Overall, the hotel has many positives, especially the space, cleanliness, and location, but the heat did affect our comfort a bit.
Raissa M — Google review
The staff were very nice. The aparthotel was a decent size. However, there was no mat or handrail in the bath, which is not acceptable. It made the bath dangerous and slippy. The apartments need repainting and refreshing. Very strange stains on the wall beside the toilet... The coffee machine leaked. The apartment was not very well cleaned before we arrived.

We stayed here for a two-night conference at a cost of €1,700 and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Several issues affected the quality of our stay: doors did not close properly, the television was not functional, the water pressure was extremely weak, and there was noticeable peeling paint and even mold on some walls. For the price charged, the overall condition and service level were unacceptable. Additionally, we found the staff to be unhelpful and at times discourteous. Based on this experience, we would never return!

Nice and clean room. Very spacious considering it's size. I loved the bathroom. After taking a dip in the bathtub I felt relaxed. Lovely kitchen that had all the amenities. Large fridge with a built-in freezer, a stove and a dishwasher. I would recommend Adagio if you are planning to visit Köln 😊. It is a very clean and green city.
Ivan H — Google review
The central heating controls for the entire building are not in the control of the staff that work here. From October they only have heating pumping through the building and have no control of the thermostat that operates it, I have had my windows and doors open for 3 days and my room is still unbearably hot. The building AC is isolated from October hence the disparity in temperature inbetween seasons. I asked reception for a fan, was told this was not an option and that there was nothing they could do about the temperature. It's well above 22° C in the room (10-14° oustide.) Unnecessary and difficult to sleep. Not much help from staff who do not have any control according to what they told me. Poorly managed facility.
Bob — Google review
The hallways stank beyond belief, the walls were duct taped together, food was terrible. Photos made the hotel look great, reality was student accommodation. Charged 5x the standard price for the time of year as well because of the conference. Will not be going back.
Jessica H — Google review
A pretty worst experience. We waited at the lobby to check in for more than an hour just because they cannot get the payment from Agoda. They still need some improvements from this. Also, the so called ‘kitchen’ cannot be friendly used, the oven could not used for more than half minute due to the safety issue of the hotel, also all the bottom of all frying pans and pots are not flat which affects connectivity with the induction stove, could not really boil water at all! Also, lots of ambulances noise at night (around 1-2 minutes each) which worsens our sleeping quality. But still, the location of the hotel is nice next to the station and Rewe. Still have a lot of things to improve.

Adina Apartment Hotel Cologne is a refined 4-star hotel located in Cologne, just 400 meters from Koln Messe/Deutz Station. The hotel offers concierge services, non-smoking rooms, a fitness center, free WiFi, and a restaurant. Housed in a repurposed brutalist concrete building from the 1950s, the hotel features an industrial hipster chic decor and a fabulous rooftop bar with city views.
Stayed a night here for a concert in Köln, very pleased with our stay! Spacious rooms, plenty of breakfast options and good parking options with direct hotel access. The room has a lot of unusual facilities for a hotel, a pleasant surprise. We particularly liked the relaxed staff at breakfast, offering us a good experience where we’re not feeling rushed while finishing our breakfast. This is a stark contrast from some hotels where they even close the coffee stations 1 minute after breakfast ends!! We’re coming back here for sure. Thanks.

A beautiful hotel with a lovely apartment. My downgrade for 3 stars on service is because when we arrived there was no shower gel or cloth to wash dishes with. I went and asked twice at reception and neither time were any provided as I think they kept forgetting. I decided to just go to a local shop and buy my own in the end. Most big attractions are on the other side of the Rhine, however there is a big metro station and tram station not far from the hotel. Additionally, do yourself a favour and walk across the bridge to get to see an absolutely beautiful view of the Dom (Cathedral) and the views of the city.

Great place for working or visiting Kölnmesse. Quite good for getting to centrum and old town too. Not too far even being on the "other side" of Rhein. Good breakfast, nice bar, good rooms with kitchen, fridge, washing machine…you could maybe wish for better views but I think it’s good enough and not that important. Got to drop one star as they made bad mistakes in reserving and check out of our group - no compensations just excuses.

Deeply Hurt – No Compassion After a Life-Altering Accident I'm writing this review not just as a guest, but as someone who experienced a traumatic and life-altering event shortly before our planned trip to Cologne. Just days before our stay at an Adina hotel, I was involved in a serious bicycle accident that left me hospitalized in critical condition. It was a terrifying experience, both physically and emotionally, and traveling was no longer possible. My husband reached out to the hotel immediately, providing medical documentation and even photos from the hospital to explain our situation. We weren’t looking for anything unreasonable — just some flexibility or understanding during an emergency. To our shock, the hotel flatly refused to issue a refund, offer a credit, or provide any alternative. Their response was cold and entirely policy-driven, with zero acknowledgment of the human side of what we were going through. I've always believed that hospitality means more than just a room — it’s about care, warmth, and empathy. Sadly, none of that was shown to us when we needed it most. As someone still recovering from my injuries, it’s incredibly disheartening to be treated this way. I urge others to think twice before booking with Adina, especially if you're looking for a brand that stands by its guests in times of genuine crisis.

One of the most comfortable experiences away from home I’ve had. After three weeks of backpacking through Europe, the in-room kitchen and washer/dryer was a life saver. The room is gorgeous and service is fantastic!

Absolutely the best hotel to stay at when attending the Anuga Show in Cologne. We have been fortunate to stay there since it opened. The staff are amazing. Clemens Baus was especially helpful with not only the reservations but in general with any needs we had at the hotel. The front desk staff are friendly and very accommodating. We love the Adina in Cologne!

Extremely Disappointed – Poor Customer Service and Inflexible Policy I’m deeply disappointed with this hotel’s handling of a truly unfortunate and urgent situation. Just days before our scheduled stay, my wife was involved in a serious bicycle accident that left her in critical condition and hospitalized. I promptly reached out to the hotel, providing medical documentation and photos from the hospital to explain why we could no longer travel. Despite this, the hotel denied any form of refund or accommodation. This kind of rigid, unsympathetic business practice is unacceptable—especially in the hospitality industry, where empathy and flexibility should be core values. I’ve stayed with the Adina brand in Germany for over 90 nights in the past four years and was previously a loyal guest. However, after this experience, I can no longer recommend Adina Hotels. As someone who works in marketing for hospitality brands, I will be sharing this experience widely within my network. I urge others to think twice before booking with a company that treats its guests with such disregard during times of crisis.

The Dom Hotel Am Römerbrunnen is a modern, relaxing lodging in the heart of Cologne. Continental breakfast is prepared every morning at the hotel. The Dom Hotel Am Römerbrunnen's location makes it easy to explore the city's sights and sounds, while its welcoming staff will make you feel right at home.
A comfy small hotel, sparkling clean and with thoughtful extra services free of charge that came in very handy for me, like fruit, water and tea. The room came at 46€ despite my last minute booking. They also provide a small, low-priced breakfast. The staff is dedicated and friendly, Mr Rickmann and Ms Hunter helped me with everything I needed as I stranded there unexpectedly due to yesterday's storm. It seems that the management and the team truly care and that they put effort in details. Thank you.
Anika B — Google review
Price misleading. The room was clean. Location is perfect and staff is very friendly, as advertised. I ended up going on my trip while it was forecasted to be probably one of the hottest days this year. There’s no AC in the room, but the day before, they purchased fans and put them in all the rooms. I found this to be a kind and thoughtful gesture. Some small problems I had were that the shower curtain is ridiculously too small for the shower, and thus water goes everywhere every time one takes a shower. Also, there was no fresh fruit in the room as advertised, but I saw some downstairs that was maybe free, I never asked. Also, one time when I came back to the room after it had been cleaned it reeked of B.O., so maybe the cleaner could stand to have a bit better hygiene. There is no fridge, microwave, or phone in the room. There is a pitifully small selection of channels on the tv. When I arrived, for whatever reason they had it on their system that my trip had been booked starting the next day. Thankfully, I had taken a screenshot of my reservation and the problem was resolved. As I never received a confirmation email, I would advise everyone to do the same. However, I consider all of these problems to be quite forgivable, and are not the reason for my rating. The reason for my rating is that the prices are misleading. When I booked, I think it was 58€ a night, and I stayed for six nights, 58x6=348€. However, somehow my stay ended up being 818€. Even with taxes, I don’t know how they arrived at this number. I should’ve paid attention more when I booked. Otherwise, this room would have been worth what the original price advertised, and I would have given it a higher rating. It’s a cute hotel with a great staff and location.

For the most part, we really enjoyed our stay. The beds and pillows were very hard and uncomfortable. I don't mind firm, but this was to an extreme. The apartment was nicely decorated, and clean. The shower could have used more attention, as there was mold in the corners . The breakfast was well worth the price, and there was a large selection for everyone's taste. The location is perfect for exploring Cologne, and we will definitely be back. I would recommend this hotel to anyone! The service, the care, and the accommodations were very much appreciated.
Missy W — Google review
Nice room, quiet and very convenient! The bar downstairs was warm and cozy after the winter rain. I'd stay here again, definitely. My only issue is the bathroom window wouldn't close so that room was so cold. The rest of the hotel was fantastic.
Shawn C — Google review
I was only in for a brief stay, but had no larger complaints. The staff was nice and friendly, and the room was in good condition. Only tidbit is that there was no form of air conditioning in the double room I stayed in, so it got a bit hot on a warm day. Opening the window helped some, but there's a fountain right outside that causes quite a bit of noise. It does get shut off during the night though, which is good. Other than that the stay was enjoyable. The hotel is in a central area which brings a lot of convenience, and it's very close to the cathedral which sure is a sight!

Worst holiday accommodation EVER. Under no circumstances, do NOT book to stay in the Domspatz City Apartment via Dom Hotel Am Romerbrunnen on Booking.com. We arrived at 8pm and couldn't get into the hotel to check-in, it had closed. Rang Booking.com to be told to access our key from a keysafe - not what our check-in instructions had said. We were then given rubbish verbal directions to the apartment. It is not in an apartment block, even though there is one called Domspatz City apartments. You enter through the back of a kebab shop, past the kitchen and store room, up 4 flights of tiny stairs with no lift (great with suitcases for a family of 5 for a fortnight's holiday), to what can only be described as a bedsit. The shower is in the hall behind a curtain. The "lounge" contains 4 chairs and 4 single beds - not suitable for families at all. There were no glasses or bowls in the kitchen. The ridiculously loud noise (shouting) from the kebab and pizza shops below, plus the music from bars close by, plus drunk homeless people gathering on the street corner and arguing carried on until 4.30am. There were 2 adults and 3 kids. We had been travelling since 4am that morning and needed to sleep. What is worse, is that the cathedral (100m away) started ringing the bells at 7.30am the next day.... for hours. Even if you had gone with friends and stayed up drinking, you wouldn't want to be woken up to that. We literally couldn't stay so checked out THREE DAYS EARLY. We lost all our money (600 euro), that is how bad it was. NEVER, EVER STAY HERE. When we checked out they offered to swap us into a different apartment, but there was no way we could stay. It was awful. I don't have a photo, but if you look it up on Google streetview, the entrance is via the Istanbul kebab shop and the apartment is the top floor windows (4th floor) above the kebab shop... NOT the apartment block next door. (Which would have been equally as noisy to be honest. Drunk, homeless people gather to drink on the street corner).
Sally M — Google review
The apartment itself wasn't in the same building as the reception, thank god we didn't have to walk far. They were very inflexible with the check in time and was quite rude about it. The lift in the building doesn't reach our floor so we had some trouble getting the luggage upstairs. Most of the things in the apartment was labelled " out of order". The only good thing was that it's fairly close to the Central station. Definitely not worth the money though.

It's okay. It is not really a hotel. More like holiday flats controlled from a bar. Nice flat though. Very spacious. The beds are German standard Hard as fiberboard. Trust germans love these Hard beds. But for my fragile Viking body they are a bit to Hard. Overall a good experience, but very different from your standard 4 star experience. Not that, that is bad, Just different.

Just a short stroll from iconic attractions like the Church of St Maria im Kapitol and the vibrant Severinstrasse shopping street, this hotel is perfectly situated for exploring both cultural landmarks and local delights. Guests can unwind in stylish rooms adorned with solid oak flooring and walnut furnishings, complemented by luxurious natural stone bathrooms.
I had a wonderful stay here! The rooms were comfortable, well-designed, and had a cozy vibe that made me feel right at home. One of the highlights was the breakfast – not just the delicious food, but the room it was served in. The ambiance was incredible, with a unique, charming atmosphere that made breakfast feel like a special event each morning. What truly set this hotel apart was the outstanding service. I accidentally left my sunglasses behind, and the staff went above and beyond to track them down. They even helped arrange shipping them back to the U.S., which I greatly appreciated. Their attention to detail and willingness to help made all the difference.

Stayed here while on a work trip in Cologne. The hotel is quite unique as it used to be a monastery. The rooms aren’t overly large but they are quaint and clean. The breakfast is nice and has a decent amount of offerings. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. It is also close to a good amount of bars and restaurants.

Rooms were clean and renovated with modern accessories. There was a teapot and working (folding) desk in the room. Bathroom was good but the water was not hot during my stay (maybe something was wrong, didn't ask). Thrre was no breakfast 🥞 and you have to drive to somewhere to have one. That makes it less convenient when you don't have enough time for driving to another place for breakfast, e.g. when you are hurry for business meeting. The price was high.

Absolutely fantastic establishment! I have nothing but praise for this hotel - from the reception, through the superb cleanliness, until the very little request you are treated truly like the most exquisite guest. Should I even mention the incredible premises of the convent that speak for themselves (incredibly atmospheric!). The hotel is newly renovated, superbly comfortable (even the smallest of rooms) and in a perfect location close to the city center of Cologne as well as the modern port area and Rhine. You won't want to stay anywhere else. The only downside is the noise coming from the street and from the corridor. Also maybe the lack of curtains - jalousie windows didn't do the trick.

THE MIDTOWN HOTEL Köln offers contemporary rooms and suites, some featuring Juliet balconies, in a trendy setting. The hotel has undergone a remarkable transformation, embracing a passion for modern style evident in the owner-designed furniture, vibrant color schemes, and houndstooth-patterned carpets. While some guests found the breakfast buffet lacking and the absence of air-conditioning inconvenient, others appreciated the value for money and overall quality of their stay.
My wife and I stayed here for one night and it blew us away. The man at the front desk was extremely friendly and even made me confident in my broken German as he had to learn it coming from Croatia. The location is perfect and the room was spotless. The breakfast was very impressive, and also very fresh. The two ladies attending it seem to work very hard to keep it up and the options were great.

Catastrophic never touch this hotel this room its smaller than a student dorm and you pay the price of a 5 star hotel this feels like a max 3 star one. The bed squeeches so loud every time you move . Best hotel that I’ve tried in Koln. Fair prices for great rooms and excellent customer service.
Yo L — Google review
Perfect little hotel for the convention centre, easy train to and from and in a chilled part of town which was quite trendy
Sarah O — Google review
I stayed at this hotel while on a work trip. I loved the rooms at the hotel and it seems great value for money. I would definitely return to this hotel privately. However, the breakfast buffet is not something I would repeat. For €18 it was a small selection and I repeatedly had to ask what things were as nothing was labelled (different types of yoghurt e.g.). Next time I’ll have breakfast in town. Also, there was a coffee set up right next to the breakfast entrance. After I did not find coffee in the breakfast room, I took a cup from there and immediately two employees snapped at me as this was NOT for breakfast. Which is fine, but they could have been a bit friendlier or, for instance, put up a sign that this is for conference guests.
Ilja P — Google review
Nice business hotel, with quite big rooms and nice service. The color of the room was dark but it was cozy and gave a feel of relaxation. The breakfast offering was quite limited but ok: eggs, different types of cured meats and cheeses, bread and croissant with some jams and Nutella. The conference room downstairs is quite big and is perfect to host some company events, even if the ceiling shows some signs of the age.
Alessio V — Google review
Main complaint was the lack of air-conditioning, could just be a European thing though. Room was perfect for what I needed, breakfast was a little lacking and I was tricked into paying 15 euro for some scrambled eggs. They were really good but hardly worth that much. Everything else was great, shower was really good, good size TV, each room has it's own private wifi connection and the location is pretty good for the price. Highly recommend this hotel, just watch out if they offer to cook you something and be prepared for no A/C.

Hotel Casa Colonia is a 19th-century hotel with modern rooms and Wi-Fi. It offers a cafe with outdoor seating, a bar, parking, hiking opportunities, pet-friendly rooms, and laundry facilities. The hotel has received high ratings from previous guests for its friendly service and cleanliness. Its central location makes it convenient for exploring the town or walking along the river.
Beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Minutes from the train station but miraculously you can't hear any trains from the room. The bedroom was a triple and plenty of space and probably the first triple room we've had with 3 proper beds in it. Pillows and beds both very comfortable and the rooms beautifully decorated. Very tasteful. Breakfast was good and the staff were all so lovely and helpful. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough! Absolutely perfect for a weekend in Cologne.

After missing our ICE transfer we ended up in Cologne at the end of the evening. We were still able to book & check-in at the hotel. The hotel itself is situated ~5 min walking distance (with luggage) from the central station. The room was clean, modern and good looking. I used my own brought HDMI cable to watch an episode of 'The Office' on the TV which was a nice way to end our travel day. The breakfast was very good. The lady taking care of breakfast was very helpful and attentive, also spoke good English. The receptionist was also very helpful when we needed a printed version of our invoice and helped us fill in our reimbursement form for DB. Also, the 'in advance check-in' system works very well!

Had a fantastic 3 night stay at Hotel Casa Colonia. Location was perfect , rooms very comfortable and clean , excellent breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. Really couldn't ask for any more. Additional plus of two very good restaurants right on your doorstep. Will return to Cologne one day and will definitely be staying at Hotel Casa Colonia .... Thank you x

Spacious room, clean, nice breakfast, and the staff was super friendly. I checked in online and then opened the front door and my room directly from the mobile web link I received via text message. Modern and easy. Surprised me for a 3-star hotel.

Good place to stay! Experienced for the first time the remote check-in. Its good but need better instructions. Do not forget the keys in the room otherwise it may become complicated to access the building/room again. Great breakfast.
Daniel C — Google review
We booked it last minute. The stay was not possible without booking breakfast which was okay due to their homemade berry smoothie which was quite nice. Our stay was evelated by the employees friendliness/kindness. First off, the reception staff was so kind during the phone call and gave us directions for parking near by. He also made it possible for us to check in via phone/internet so that even though reception is only opened until 15/3pm we were able to stay there. He also accomodate our need for a room with a dog (no carpet). We got the room on the ground floor with doors to the patio. The room and washroom together was big, modern with high ceilings, and clean. Then the staff was so kind and let us have the left-over eggs to feed my dog when we lost his food. They were friendly with him and always ready to help. The treatment by the staff should make this a 4 star hotel. Would definitely stay again.

I liked the clean and refreshed room. Very cool view of the cathedral from the window! The central station is 5 minutes away. Good breakfast and very polite staff. A small minus is the lack of air conditioning, but there are fans. In the heat in the room is stuffy, and opening windows is problematic because of the restaurants on the corner, which are noisy until late.

Restaurant
Hotel Matheisen, along with its restaurant "Der Wirsingkönig," is a charming 1880s inn located in Koln Worringen. The hotel offers modest yet spacious and beautifully decorated rooms that provide lots of natural light. It's an ideal choice for travelers who want to experience the local atmosphere away from typical tourist areas. The traditional tavern at the hotel provides live entertainment and serves better-than-average evening meals, although breakfast may be below standard.
I try and choose hotels which don't usually cater for British people, I like to experience a place how the locals do. And I don't want to be around the British stag do groups. The hotel is an easy journey from Cologne, a short train and bus journey. I was also able to get to the airport very early on a Sunday morning, 05.24 bus from near the hotel. The area is quiet and quaint. My room was spacious, beautifully decorated and lots of natural light. It also had a bath which was so nice after traveling and climbing the cathedral tower! The staff spoke better English than my German, and we managed to communicate well enough. The bed was a little uncomfortable as it felt like it needs replacing. I am going to book here again when I next visit Cologne.

Everything was super. Staff very friendly, rooms very clean, big parking space. I cannot give more than 5 stars here, but you deserve 10 stars.

Old furniture, but functional. Price and value kind of match. Better than average food evenings. Boring, below standard breakfast. Overall you get what you pay for.

Property: Nice. Rooms: Nice. Breakfast: Nice, people in restaurant are amazing and really nice. Housekeeping: This is where they need to improve: Shower gel not replaced, hand wash not replaced. Towels not replaced. Front Desk: I would like to specially mention here about Ms. Pilar Moreiras, she is an asset for this hotel. I will give her 10/10. Understand requests completely and makes things easier and convenient for you. All the best to the hotel Team!!

Cool space, friendly staff, great location. Room was TINY though even by European standards. We were constantly tripping over each other, nowhere to sit down. Just extremely cramped. Would stay again but definitely fork out more for a bigger room. The other major downside was the streetnoise. It overlooks a courtyard and people were out there shouting and laughing until almost 5:30am. Was difficult to sleep.

Very Nice place To stay. The staff is able to put a shine to The super funky interior design. Would love to stay there again in The future.
