The 49 best pet-friendly places and activities in Auckland

This evening (Sunday 18th May 2025) we visited Takapuna beach cafe around 6pm on a rainy Sunday evening. After the well marketed enticing web page advertised fish and chips. The fish as marketed online is Tarakihi or snapper no option was offered at point of sale, or catch of the day… When we opened the takeaway we were visually disappointed in the heavy batter and heavy hard crumb which were overly golden, the batter per portion weighed 200g and the fish itself 100g. Even the lemons had seen better days a little dry and chopped days prior. We were told by one of the team when ordering that our order would be approx 10 mins because they weren’t overly busy - the reality was that our order took closer to 25 mins. A staff member kindly brought our order out to where we were waiting and advised that cutlery and serviettes were in the bag……. Ummmmm nope, neither were enclosed with our order. We peeled back the hard almost burnt crumb and batter glug and ate the fish itself and the small amount of chips. A few weeks prior we ordered fish and chips during lunchtime mid week and it was excellent … in quality and execution of culinary skill, freshness and service. For $48 it was overall disappointing. On a somewhat positive note - the cheesecake was excellent but there was no prices on their cabinet and when we went to pay we were rather surprised to be asked to part with $25 for 2 slices (take away) Overall, The wheels seem to have unfortunately fallen off the cafe over the last month or so … a real shame. Following owners response: Thanks for your response and offer to remedy the issue One point I’d like to make is you say that you stopped serving fish and chips from your pop up on the 11th May 2025… this may be a date typo error as we ordered takeaway fish and chips from your cafe last night - being the 18th May 2025…

We found out way more expensive than other cafes in food selections on menu. Even if they've got the amazing view, seats were uncomfortable. Main menus were all okay. But I could see that waiters do not really know about the details of menu when I asked something. They were all super nice and kind apart from that.

Stunning spot right on the water edge which perfect for brunch. Busy during weekdays as well. Staff are friendly and attentive. Food is good and portion is just nice. Good hangout place with friends and family.

We arrived during a very busy lunch service. The tables were turning over quickly though. We only waited a minute for an inside table. We thought our drinks and food would be some time but it all came very quickly. We were both impressed with the food and service. It was quite noisy due to the whole place being packed.

We had a wonderful experience at Takapuna Beach Cafe, where we celebrated a family birthday. A number of us had the crumbed fish and we also had the scampi pasta, the Moreton Bay bugs and the oysters. The food was exceptional and so fresh and flavourful. A particular highlight was our waiter, who was very engaging and who demonstrated excellent knowledge of the wine list. He offered a thoughtful wine recommendation that suited our tastes, and our meal perfectly. Overall, Takapuna Beach Cafe is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for high-quality service, delicious food, excellent wine, and a lovely view. Highly recommended.

I visited in the morning. The eggs benedict was decent, but the daily special was surprisingly spicy and very flavorful. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but overall, I was satisfied.

I would give this cafe a solid 4 star rating. Location is beautiful, service well organised, food arrived quickly even on a very busy day. Food is good quality. I wish my poached eggs were served slightly hotter, but they were poached very nicely. I could easily recommend this cafe to a friend. I have been here twice and would come back.

I had a lovely experience at Cornwell Park Cafe! The coffee was rich and smooth, brewed perfectly – just the right balance of strength and flavor to start the day. I also tried their avocado toast with bread, and it was fresh, vibrant, and satisfying. The avocado was creamy and well-seasoned, sitting on nicely toasted bread that had a great crunch. The presentation was simple yet inviting, and the overall vibe of the cafe was cozy and relaxed. A great spot to enjoy a quiet breakfast or catch up with a friend. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area!

A nice cafe located in the heart of Cornwall Park. The food is good but the reason why I rated low is because they forgot I ordered fish and chips. The lady even showed me the receipt that I didn’t order it, and I pointed out where it was ON THE RECEIPT. 🤦🏻 I get that it was busy though.

Freezing cold after mini golf on Tamaki drive, we needed Hot drinks and a warm place urgently! We got that at Cornwall park cafe! Lovely wait staff, great coffee and snack foods. It was getting close to closing but the young guys had not come down from exploring one tree hill and we waited in the warm until they returned! It was not warm enough to savour the icecream stand,but have done so in summer whilst flying model gliders with the kids! Coffee was great! Had an iced caramel latte. Food tasted good, nothing special to note. Was seated quickly and loved that we could order and pay online, from our table. Staff checked-in to make sure we were okay. Atmosphere was busier than expected for a Tuesday morning (was hoping for a nice, quiet brekky), but still a comfortable experience. Can't complain!

My wife decided to have a well deserved iced chocolate takeaway. It was the worst ever. The ice was not crushed and the drink was more watery than chocolate. Approximately a quarter was ice cubes. See photo.

Could be lovely as location & atmosphere is great - right by one of the Cornwall Park car parks (though difficult to find parking at peak times) with a wide ranging menu and an indoor-outdoor feel. No wi-fi. When I arrived (around 2:30 pm) it was counter food only (savoury and sweets, but the team very kindly warmed my pesto roll up for me). Hot chocolate was OK-ish. The pesto roll was average (felt microwave warmed ... as not very crispy and quite doughy) ... but what let the place down was the dirty tables and incessant pigeons! Surely a health/safety issue with all the droppings all over the table? I can understand the pigeons are hard to control (though table cleanliness shouldn't be) but I couldn't actually finish my snack in peace .... and wanted to stay longer but sadly had to leave as the birds literally swooped down taking food off the plates and trying to flap them away (without any help from the staff) was unsuccessful.

Great hidden gem. Was too hungry to take pictures lol close to grey lynn shops and schools and schools. K road is only 2 minutes away a d Queen street. Plenty parks and heaps of parking onscreen and across the road from Pocket. The bar is tucked in the corner, pretty dark but I guess the name pocket gives it it's name. Beautiful friendly staff. Areas of the inside and open and inviting. Clean and very well maintained. Simple yet elegant furniture and the outdoors area is great for smokers and non to chill out. Reasonable pricing on food and alcohol.

Gorgeous wee neighbourhood bar, we went on a Saturday afternoon and the vibe was very relaxed. Excellent espresso martini and non-alcoholic options.

We had my daughters baby shower here, what a special spot. Loved the garden bar and atmosphere. The staff and manager were so accommodating to us and couldn't have been nicer. Thank yiu guys great customer service and we will definitely be back 👍

This was a fabulous find. Fantastic food, fantastic service, and fantastic drinks. Especially the cocktails. Even the music from the party in the room next door was great.

The Pocket is is an awesome bar / cafe /eatery 'close to the city' in Surrey Crescent, Grey Lynn. Perfect for a casual meet-up or meal. There's a range of seating, inside intimate or for groups as well as external covered. The day I went there I noticed a number of reserved tables for businesses for after work drinks and nibbles. Obviously well suited for this. Food options include a number of share platters and drinks include beers, wines, mixes and their own in house sparkling water. Happy to recommend.

This place made me fall in love with bagel ❤️ their bagel is crispy on the outside and soft inside. The sesame or spices on top of the bagel toasted with fire gives it extra fragrant. We had King Salmon and Mean Joe Green, and it’s so delicious and perfect for breakfast. Love the cozy environment too with fireplace, warm us up during cold weather. It’s a lil bit pricey but worth it 👍

I’m a big bagel lover, so I will give the bagels 5/5, ordered the basic bagel with only butter, soft and fluffy. You can see someone is making fresh bagels, and I loved how they represented sauces. However, the price is not reasonable, too expensive😭$5.9 for only a bagel with butter, if you want vegemite, $3 extra

Recommended by friends, Bagels are good. Didn't try the coffee though. Bit costly for BF but once in a while ok. Staff was super nice and helpful.

This was the absolute highlight of our day!! Ms. Nikita, Ms. Harwinda, and Mr. Alex were such a dream (along with the rest of the staff!)! We arrived planning to have breakfast and it happened to be a day where they were teaching kids to roll their own. Our kids (ages 3 and 6) had so much fun! They got to go behind the counter and roll bagels alongside the masters. Then they got to watch the cooking and baking process. The end product was so scrumptious!!! Thank you so much! Also, the filter coffee. We would go back just for this coffee.

This place is amazing. With the perfect bagels 🥯. I ordered avocado 🥑 with tomato once, and on the other time, I ordered grilled tuna with cheese bagels. The staff is super friendly and on top of it . The service is quick . Would definitely recommend it and would love to come back again whenever I am in Auckland.

Auckland Botanic Gardens is peaceful, beautiful, diverse garden experience that suits many interests, from families and casual visitors to plant lovers. If you visit, allow a few hours (or more!) so you can wander without rushing, stop to sit and take in the views, and perhaps have a picnic. Highly recommended.

Beautiful place to have a walk with your dogs and take pictures. Here’s a pro tip: the I cream van line is always very long so just go to the cafe and buy an ice cream tub or a popsicle. Overall, place is full of amazing flowers and trees and my dog had an absolute blast here. Just make sure the weather is nice before coming here!

Had a lovely time at Auckland Botanic Gardens! The gardens are so beautiful and peaceful, with lots of space to walk around and enjoy the flowers and greenery. My family really enjoyed exploring different sections, and the kids loved the playground. A perfect place to relax, take photos, and spend a quiet day surrounded by nature.

Beautiful day at the Gardens, the Camellias are blooming and very pretty to watch! Also the Magnolias are worth mentioning. Lovely for a quick or longer stroll. Easy to grab a coffee to go, parking in the morning is good and definitely will go to see more flowers bloom.

The Auckland Botanic Gardens is hands down my favorite spot in Auckland! 🌿🌸 It’s huge, filled with all kinds of plants and flowers, so no matter what season it is—spring, summer, autumn, or winter—you’ll always find something in bloom. The walking paths are easy to follow, and just wandering around here is such a relaxing and enjoyable experience.

We get there at around 7pm. The combination of sunset and blooming flower is wonderful. Path of sakura is beautiful.

We had a great time there, the food was delicious, and the service was fast and efficient. The inside was well decorated, bonus points for the restroom. If I had to be picky, I'd say that the noise level could be somewhat high during peak hours, but otherwise our dinner was really enjoyable. Thank you

The lunch was good, had the shared platter that was plentiful and the squid starter that was the highlight. The service was attentive. Sat inside for lunch as weather was not conducive to sitting outside. But still felt like as I was in the village as was able to enjoy the goings on in the street. Only negative was the acoustics, can imagine if the restaurant is full it would be difficult to hear.

Today we celebrated 4 Birthday and one big OE trip for my grandson! We Were all blown away by the decor and ambiance! We were graciously welcomed by freindly staff and seated at a suitable table. Drinks ordered and delivered, then orders taken then once prepared served to table. Nice and hot and presented nicely! Absolutely delicious! We held our wedding at The Garden Shed in September, entertaining family and friends. We were really delighted with how things went, the staff and management interpreted really well what we had planned and supported the evening perfectly. This place is a little slice of heaven in the heart of Mt. Eden — so tranquil, with stunning surroundings to enjoy. We had a wonderful lunch in a beautifully set-up space. Everything felt peaceful and serene, with welcoming staff and a truly gorgeous setting. And the food? Absolutely amazing. Looking forward to coming back soon!

First time here. We come here for dinner and glad we booked. Beautiful place to eat. We love the character to the restaurant. Good menu and food. Would recommend and come back again to try the breakfast menu next time.

I rarely do reviews but feel I have to here because the food here is awful. Had pork belly - no crackle - just rubbery skin. Sent it back and they redid it so it had crackle, but the rest of the dish was rubbish. Red wine jus on pork? Should have known it wouldn't be good just because of that. Red wine is for beef - not a white meat like pork. The roasted potatoes (which they told us they deep-fry) had the skins on (lazy) and had no crunch on the outside whatsoever - they were like eating boiled potatoes that had been rolled around in some seasoning. The best thing on the dish was the fennel & apple salad which unfortunately was warm from sitting on the hot plate. My husband had the pan fried fish (snapper) which was overcooked and dry and clearly wasn't fresh because it smelled fishy and also tasty fishy. Fresh fish should not have that unpleasant fishy odor - it shouldn't have any smell at all. The best thing about the place was the garden setting, but I wouldn't go for the food. Service was ok, but honestly, save yourself the money and go to the pub instead. You'll get better food for way less money.

I had such a wonderful dining experience at Kohi Beach. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a beautiful view that made the evening feel special from the very beginning. The food was excellent – everything was fresh and well prepared, and the steak was absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly to my liking. What truly stood out, however, was the service. A big thank you to Zoey and Denise, who looked after us with such kindness and professionalism. They were attentive without being intrusive, always checking in at the right moment, and they made us feel genuinely welcome even when the restaurant was busy. Their positive attitude and friendly smiles added so much to the overall experience. Kohi Beach is definitely a place I would recommend for both the food and the service. I’ll be looking forward to coming back again soon!

The chicken and the lamb were so tender and well cooked. We also loved the ceviche. Lovely atmosphere, just off the beach, and great service.

29/09 @ 1000H The front of the house person was unfriendly. People behind the counter will just stare at you. Unapproachable and makes you don’t wanna stay there. Lady barista was OK. Could’ve been a good place to catch up with mate tbh but we end up staying on a bench beside beach path.

We arrived just before 7 am while they were setting up, but happily accomodated us. We had a lovely front corner table with beautiful views of the bay. Certainly the very best menu we'd seen during our weekend in Auckland and by far the best service we've encountered for a while. My Americano with cream was perfect and I had a nutty granola with rhubarb and rose compote, greek yogurt and kiwifruit. Delicious! My companion enjoyed her Earl Gray tea and mushrooms and spinach. Staff were attentive without being intrusive, chatty but not dominating and we certainly enjoyed our breakfast this morning. Thanks very much.

The Asian lady in the cashier and the barista was rude on 21 Jun Saturday 25. Was taking my parents from overseas to enjoy this coffee shop and had a really bad experience from these 2 ladies. Never coming back. There are plenty of coffee shops with friendly staff, definitely don’t need this experience. The only person was kind was the the ice cream lady

Delicious food, very well presented, good portions other than the avocado on toast with poached egg - while tasty and looking good small relative to other dishes. Excellent service. Beautiful outside by sea. Went back two days later, for great coffee. The gelato is very good too.

Would highly recommend this place if you are planning an event. Had great communication prior with Stephen regarding our booking. We celebrated our son's 21st with a family Sunday luncheon. The waiting staff were excellent and nothing was a problem. Had delicious food and drinks. Especially liked the gin tree. All our family(17 of us) enjoyed themselves and we had a memorable occasion. 25 of us there for a 60th birthday. Friends from all over the country. Amazing atmosphere. The Staff gave us a nice corner of our own yet we still had a pub atmosphere. We were there from 2 til 10.30 and laughed all day. The food and drinks kept coming and I was surprised how reasonable the final cost was. Great value for money!

Had a really good scotch here on Monday night, so good that we came back again on Tuesday with 3 friends. Food was spot on both times and the front of house staff were super friendly and welcoming. Everyone had a great time — will definitely be back!

We went there for dinner last night. I ordered the fish & chips, and i did not enjoy it. It was overcooked, salty, and did not taste fresh. The service was good however, and I liked the environment. Good spot for a drink. I will definitely not eat there again.

This used to be one of my favourite spots to stop in for a Friday lunch. Still has great pints on tap served by one of the best bartenders in NZ, but the food keeps getting worse and more expensive. They used to have beautiful chicken tacos for $19… then the recipe changed, then they pulled them off the menu, now the only tacos are $22 - and only fish tacos which are small and average. The staff are really lovely though and it’s a pleasure to stop in for a pint - they have nice bathrooms and play all the sports without bringing the ‘suited booted lads’ vibes. It’s clean and fresh feeling. Big fan of the Zeffer cider on tap 🍻

Great place, decor is fun and it has nice vibes. We had the Jalapeño poppers and Snapper fish sliders, totally recommend it! Larissa from staff was the girl helping us out, she was very attentive, recommend the best drinks and made sure we were alright. Nice place!

I honestly don’t know where to start, but I would say this bar is unsafe. While I was lining up to get a drink, the man behind me repeatedly rubbed up against me and grabbed my butt. My friend stepped in and told him to stop, and he called her crazy before moving away. When I got to the front of the bar, I told the bartender what had happened, and his response was simply that he didn’t understand and there was nothing he could do. Meanwhile, the man just stood there smiling. I felt completely dismissed and defeated. It seems like he gets away with this kind of behaviour because the bar simply doesn’t care, and there are no consequences for men who harass women there. Later in the night, I spent around 20 minutes waiting for the bathroom. When I finally got to the front, a woman and her boyfriend pushed in, saying she needed priority because she had kids and I didn’t. The bouncer saw the situation, swung the door open, and it slammed into me. My toes were caught under the door, ripping the skin off and causing heavy bleeding. Instead of helping, the staff kicked all of us out. I didn’t even mind leaving at that point, but when I tried to sit down for a second because I was in pain and bleeding, I was forced to get up and go immediately. This all happened before 11:30, and it completely ruined my night. I couldn’t walk properly because of my injuries. The staff and door team showed no care at all for my safety or wellbeing. In particular, the bouncer in the burgundy suit jacket (who I assume is some kind of manager) was on a power trip and made the situation worse instead of handling it professionally. This bar really needs to reconsider its staff training, especially around safety and how they handle incidents. Right now, it feels like customer wellbeing is the last thing on their minds.

The place was great, staff were awesome. One staff was really awesome, she help us out with one of the good drinks and waited for us to decide as it took us a long time in deciding. The food was excellent. Also, it had a live band when we came in so it was lively. Penny well spent. Definitely will come back for another night out.

Nice place, nice food, great staff, but the music is terrible, goes vibe up vibe down down down up again, the random play list can’t keep the dancing vibe. Please change the dj, playlist, put someone that understand about party music to take care of this!!! Some good long djs set would help!

Beautiful spot with plenty of open spaces, walking tracks, and scenic views. A great place for a peaceful stroll or a family outing. However, if you’re afraid of dogs, this may not be the best place for you, as it’s very popular with dog owners and their furry friends often roam freely. For dog lovers, it’s a fantastic place to enjoy some off-leash fun!

I got out of my car and was almost immediately greeted by a friendly dog. This place is very popular with dog walkers, so is a great place to go if you want to take yours, or just meet some. It is a little more pleasant in the summer, rather than the blustery winter day I visited on, but it's a nice walk with wetlands and native plants everywhere.

I love that this place is so welcoming to dogs! They provide water for everyone, a dog pool, and toilet. The facilities are mostly well-maintained. Unfortunately, there are a few irresponsible dog owners whose dogs are not trained or controlled, leading to dog fights and even attacks on people. On top of that, the place is not very clean, so be prepared to give your dog a shower afterward.

Bring your pooch to Waiatarua Reserve, rain or shine. Popular off leash dog park , roughly 4000 steps , one round, metalled and bush walk to enjoy. Ponds for dogs to wade or dive into , plenty of parking , friendly walkers , good mix of dogs for your dog to socialise with and a hose to clean them up before jumping in your car.

A massive walking/running:cycling nature reserve and plenty of space for dog walking too. Love that there’s a swimming hole under the bridge that our dog loves! There is a stick library there and a forest walk that will make your doggy walk interesting too. A great place for dogs to be social as well. There is also a hose in the very nice car park where you can give your furby a drink or wash him down if they get dirty. Lots to see here and very uplifting - fresh air and nature, a duck pond and lots of areas for your dog to run and play. It’s our boys most favourite place since he was a puppy. One thing that stands out is how friendly other dog owners are too.

Great off-leash Park for walking your dog. My dog just loves this park and starts crying with excitement about half a kilometre before we get there because she loves it THAT much! Also lovely to see the variety of birds - ducks, black swans and herons at ground level and tūī, kākāriki and fantails flying in and out of trees!

Great dog park, lots of fun mud to play in when it's wet. Great pool for them to rinse off in and hose tap at the carpark.

Dear Jervois is a lovely spot for breakfast, offering delicious food, great service, some impressive cabinet foods, and a lovely atmosphere. The breakfast menu is diverse and satisfying, with a variety of options that are both flavorful and beautifully presented. Decent brunch spot in Herne Bay! Busy for good reason and we enjoyed the food; the staff were also lovely. Heads up about the iced strawberry matcha latte in case it helps anyone: it was nice, but very sweet from the strawberry syrup and overall tasted like cinnamon (which is admittedly a frequent letdown not exclusive to this place). If that sounds like your kind of thing, absolutely go for it, it was still good — just wasn't my personal preference!

Located at Herne Bay. They have dining inside and outside on bench tables. The team are friendly and service is good. The food is Mediterranean feel, lots of spices and sauces with the meals. Tasty, fresh and a decent sizes. They are not the cheapest, prices match the suburb and fellow cafes. Coffee was well done and decent size cups. Nice casual environment.

This was the first place we are after relocating to Auckland and a 12.5 hour flight. Our server was the sweetest person ever. She was delightful. My pesto mushrooms and lentils dish was excellent! It was by far the tastiest mushroom dish I’ve eaten in the last 1.5 months of living here. The avocado toast and waffles were not nearly as good. They were alright, but nothing special. Our server recommended the eggs cooked in tomatoes. I’m keen to try this next. So far this is our favorite place to eat on Jervois.

Service was awesome!! Our server was really lovely and the food and drinks came out very fast. The pink tofu toast was really awesome and new to the menu definitely a great cafe that can cater to all allergies ☺️

We came here for a Sunday brunch and had such a wonderful experience. We ordered the Jam style eggs, protein pancakes, and big breakfast. Couldn’t fault any of them! All the plates came out quickly, the food was warm, the presentation exceptional and can confidently say we didn’t leave a crumb. Would also like to note, I purchased a dirty (spicy) chai with soy milk, which can be very hit or miss. It was honestly delicious. The atmosphere was also lovely, even if you’re sat outside they have heating units and allow dogs. All in all, had a wonderful experience and would absolutely recommend.

The jam style eggs, big breakfast & chicken breast salad all 5 star. Smoothies/juices are all yum. Staff are so friendly & service was great. Great view if you sit outside looking at Rangitoto. We'll be back to try more on the menu.

JAM in Takapuna is amazing - the food & coffee are great, the staff are friendly and efficient, there’s nice wood-focused decor, very cool vibes, and it’s all just a stone’s throw from one of the best beaches on the North Shore, Takapuna. The Eggs Benedict with mushrooms and sauce is heavenly - the best EggsB I’ve ever tasted in Auckland. :-) I live in Tokyo and coming back to JAM to have this dish is always high on my Do list while I’m in town. Highly recommended!

Prawn cocktail salad was so yummy Negatives- the lady who initially served us was really rude and rolled her eyes, didn’t give us water or anything, didn’t serve us until we went up to her after she had told us to sit down (it was very quiet and we waited about 15mins). We had to complain to the manager who did her best to help which made a difference.

My partner and I went here just the weekend gone. The place is aesthetically pleasing, the vibe is nice. I don’t really drink alcohol however, I had the Pimms cup from here and it was delicious!! Nailed it! Been here a few times and it just does not disappoint. The fish tacos are delicious, with a beautiful piece of fresh fish. The beef nachos, and I'm making a big call here, may be the best in town! Big portion, fair price, delicious tender beef, light corn chips... I mean... Wow! Extra points for Tuatara beer on tap. Well done, guys!

Really nice place, great vibes. Menu is diverse, you can get many interestingly sounding main courses as well as something to nibble (although nachos could have had more cheese). Many gluten free and dairy free dishes. Everything is cooked fresh and there is an open kitchen (so you can be sure it's fresh). Nice selection of good alcohols too

They use real herbs and spices which gives a great aromatic that you wouldn’t be able to find it elsewhere! It is a shame that they do not have any vegan cakes today, but otherwise its an absolute lovely experience to be here!

I had the creamy mushroom brekkie which was Great and came in a bowl of pastry which was light. It was quite a lot of pastry which I didn't finish. Service was good and did not have to wait long for our order. Setting is nice too.

The coffee and food are both good here and the setting is really nice, even on a hot day. I ordered the marinated halloumi which was nice although they were a bit skimpy with the halloumi.

A fairly limited and predictable menu, however what came was very tasty and well presented. I had the fish and chips and I haven't had such a nice fish and chips for a long time. Well done on that one. The only actual criticism I had was Service was incredibly slow, taking 15 minutes to check whether we wanted the desert menu was a bit long. I would go again, but I would allocate more time to the experience.

Had drinks with friends here and it the food & drinks were so nice. $60 pink cocktail trees and $1 chicken nibbles from 4pm were so yum and worth the price! Just didn’t like the background music was a bit boring however if you’re just going to catch up and have drinks with the girls it’s a good spot! Also our Spanish waitress was really cool! Great customer service!

About a month ago, I hosted my daughter’s 21st birthday here, and it was such a wonderful experience! We worked with T, and honestly, nothing was too much trouble. He made the whole process so easy and stress-free, and really got us excited for the event. The event package offered was just perfect—flexible, practical, and at a great price. The venue itself is a beautiful blank canvas, and we decorated it with 100 helium balloons, which looked stunning. I also loved that the TV screens and sound system were included at no extra charge. On the night of the event, Isaac was overseeing everything, and he was an absolute superstar. He made sure the food was flowing smoothly, managed the cake and dishes, and kept the sound system running perfectly. Plus, he kept me updated on our bar tab throughout the night. The entire team was fantastic, and I honestly can’t recommend this venue enough! It truly made my daughter’s special day even more memorable.

Loved my dinner at Geeks on Sainsbury! The pork belly and kimchi soup were delicious, tasty and perfectly done. It was great to see they are dog-friendly too. The staff were amazing; super friendly despite having to deal with some rude customers. We will absolutely be back!

Lovely, friendly staff but service was very slow especially for the amount of customers. There was a missed item in our order which they weren’t really apologetic for so we said not to worry about it. Really wanted to like the food, but the scrambled eggs and sourdough were really sad as pictured (this was an adult/standard portion too).

This cafe is such a great place for coffee and and Korean fusion food!! I really enjoyed the dumplings and the soup, the flavor was so good!! The bao buns are a great size and super tasty, perfect if you're not that hungry, and their coffee was spot on. The girls were so helpful with ordering as I can't tolerate certain ingredients, they were very helpful in advising what I could order. It's a nice spot with parking near by and they have these nice big tables outside with cover which is great for big groups!! They had yummy cabinet treats as well which i didnt try but they looked delicious!

We love Geeks on Sainsbury, we’ve been coming here for years but today, we brought Biscuit, our 3month cavoodle puppy, along for her socialisation and Ellie - who was part of their team - was amazing with her. Despite not being able to run around the park across the cafe, Biscuit stayed calm in her “backpack den” and we enjoyed our usual coffee, Pokeno Bacon Benedict and creamy mushrooms.

Great place for craft beers in Ponsonby. The Mile High Club membership is particularly good, as it provides access to a selection of imported beers, including Pliny the Elder from time to time. Service has been friendly and efficient each time I’ve been.

I highly recommend this place for a fun night out after work. The staff were so warm and friendly. The atmosphere had great ambience and edge. It's in a small little nook off Ponsonby road, surrounded by greenery and good vibes. The live music on the opening night really set the tone for a chill yet good buzz bar. The hot dogs were delicious and really unique. My friends enjoyed the craft beer and the sodas had a real lovely punch of flavour!!

What a super cool bar garden this. A relaxed atmosphere with Outstanding service. The brew beer is refreshing. Great tasting home brew and I loved the carafe of margaritas! Love the tunes. JT and his boys on Thursday always great. The American sausages so tasty. I even asked for their secret on how to get the buns tasting sweet and crispy. If you haven’t been grab and friend and head over ASAP.

It has all the essentials: a New World supermarket full of gourmet food, a bakery, 3 restaurants, a Lotto shop, Sushi eatery, a two dollar shop, hair salon and boutique fashion store and a book store. The mall is famous for its dog friendly reputation.

Opted for the Woolfy's Breakfast and the Bacon Eggs Benedict - both amazing with crispy bacon and perfectly poached eggs. Can see why this place is popular - would come back to try their cabinet food or other meals from their menu!

Maybe there should be a wait here to be seated sign as you walk in and if it’s your first time you don’t know where to wait or if you should just walk to a table as the waiters are all busy. Had driven passed before & finally stopped in. The staff here were super friendly & helpful. The food service was quite quick for ordering and receiving our food. The venue is quite large with an indoor & fully covered quasi outdoor area. Food It was great for me to see several plan based options in the menu. I enjoyed the Dandan noodles although the flavour profile tasted more of hoisin sauce rather than more traditional chili oil, Sichuan, sesame paste, soy sauce, black vinegar, garlic ginger etc Hubby had the Paleo bowl with cured salmon. It was vibrant & fresh. The coffee was great. We did purchase a Cronut, not pictured as taken away. This was unfortunately quite stale & was binned. This would be the only negative feedback. I would definitely go back again to try the other plant based options.

This is our first time visited Woolfy’s. The barista (Jane) is absolute pros, and her coffee is always on point. Jane is hands-down the best barista I've ever met - her attention to detail, creativity, and passion for coffee are truly inspiring. The atmosphere of the cafe is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur or just looking for a great cup, Woolfy’s is a must-visit.

Another Wednesday drop-in for a quick bite. I have a sweet tooth so I was enticed by the Caramel French Toast. Added some bacon for some savory notes & washed it all down with another great coffee. I absolutely love French Toast but this Woofy creation was way too sweet on the palate. The blanket of Caramel sauce is the kind of sauce that I'd happily pour over scoops of Vanilla ice cream. But here, it's a "No" from me. This won't end my budding friendship with Woofy's. I'll try something else next time.

Great wee spot, amazing atmosphere, stunning view of the sky tower, friendly tentatively staff. The cocktails were delicious, we had some snacks - lamb skewers and waffles, OH MY LORD the waffles!! So tasty! Lamb was a little fatty but great flavours. Would have liked a better beer tap selection (any of the amazing nz craft beers) but this seems to be a theme in all Auckland bars. Will definitely go back!

I went to Glass Goose for dinner with my partner and 3 other friends. The portion size was good, the meals were tasty and well presented (don't miss out on the desert, they are yummy and large - maybe a little too large if that's possible). Very friendly and professional service, a nice interior fit-out and great atmosphere and good value - I will definitely return

I had an event at the baxters lounge and everything went perfectly. My friends and family had a great time. We danced, ate and drank great cocktails made by Juanita. The bartender was great vibes and was super accommodating to us. I thank the team for making my birthday so special and exactly the way I imaged it

Went for lunch with a friend and we ordered four sharing plates. The duck fat potato skins were delicious. The lamb skewers were succulent and flavorful however the portion size was small. Only two skewers with four small cubes of lamb. We also had the halloumi, pumpkin and grape snack plate and a green goddess salad. The food was delicious. We also tried three cocktails and they were also good. No complaints. Great views on the top. Service was excellent and waiter was friendly as well as knowledgeable on menu items and able to give recommendations. I would definitely go again as they had plenty great gluten free options.

Like a glass goose, I felt empty at the end of my meal. Cocktails were a hit or miss, but it really is just a matter of preference. I ordered the Basil Grande. Artificially sweet but unique. Next, I had the Fresh Pickings. This cocktail lived up to its name- extremely refreshing! When it came to the meals, my friends and I were shocked (negative connotation). I ordered the Lamb Shoulder, which was an undoubtedly delicious main. The lamb was well seasoned and tender. I highly enjoyed the parsnip puree, which was swapped as the original sauce was not suitable for my dietary requirements. However, with how much Glass Goose charged for the dish, the portion was absolutely ridiculous. Furthermore, the Tacos that my friend got was TINY! The skewers I ordered were also TINY!! This was a similar experience throughout our big table- why is everything so small?! Regardless, my friends and I had a good time at Glass Goose. The music was fantastic and the atmosphere was beautiful. From where we sat, we had a direct view of the Sky Tower.

My friends and I had a great experience at the glass goose, thanks particularly to the amazing staff member Steff. She was so kind and helpful and amazingly organised and professional despite being over stretched on a shift where perhaps the restaurant was busier than expected. We had delicious food, and a lovely experience and will definitely return!

Had dinner here last night with some friends... was a last minute decision to come here seeing as I have only ever been here for drinks and dancing... but glad we did! Food was great... there was a misunderstanding with a dish we ordered but it was resolved instantly and we got a complimentary cheeseboard which was delicious! Great vibes, nice friendly staff and not badly priced. Definitely will be back again.

Mother’s Day was made special by having balloon and face painting artists on hand to entertain the little ones. The play area is lacking though which is disappointing for a family-friendly establishment. Service was good and so was the food. Vegetarian burger needed a bit more texture.

Excellent place, excellent beer, great food. Can enjoy a weekend afternoon. High roof and filled with light and a very calming view of water and ships. I had pale ale, their most recommended beer which was probably my best pale ale in auckland so far, with chips and a 4 centimeters thick juicy 280gr seriloin steak which I loved. They have a nice oven for pizzas which looked good as I saw them and the brewing area is clean and beautiful. I loved my experience there

Excellent food and atmosphere, friendly service. Food came out quick but all at different times so some of our party had to wait while everyone else was finishing up. Maybe just time the food better to all come out at the same time. But other than that was a great place!

I hosted a birthday event at Little Creatures. The event manager was super helpful and organised, making sure everything was sorted out beforehand. The venue is lovely, and easily accommodated our group. We enjoyed the food and the vibe. Would recommend.

Came here with my family for drinks and food on a Sunday- the place has lively vibes, great craft beer choices (we got 2 tasting paddles), and the food tasted pretty good for the most part with large portions. Our waitress was very attentive and took care great care of us! Aside from a very long dessert wait (20mins), I have no complaints. Would recommend for any size groups, functions and families alike.

It's always a great experience watching rugby, or simply catching up with friends, at Little Creatures Brewing! Delicious food, great beer, amazing atmosphere! Great food (a little over doused with dressing) large portions, kids area is awesome for little ones who keep popping up and down and the staff were excellent and very accommodating wheelchair accessible and toilets were easy too. Love this place

Fried chicken was nice and juicy, flavourful and easy to eat due to the tenderness - sauce wasn't too heavy too Friendly service and good atmosphere, music playing and sports streaming on the screen but not too loud so doesn't overpower any conversation! Which is quite rare to see at these kinds of establishments... Grab a few drinks and the bill could add up quite fast though...!

I was captivated by the decor and ambiance, especially the family dining room filled with toys and bean bags. The addition of snooker tables adds to the fun. We enjoyed a delightful meal with dishes like cauliflower tacos and Buddha bowls, paired with Ginn and tonic and Jungle Bird cocktails, followed by the heavenly affogato and jelly tip dessert. Having dined here before, I can confirm the desserts are truly remarkable. The indoor and outdoor seating options enhance the experience, and our charming and attentive waiter made it even better. I can't wait to come back!

On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly female staff member who recognised me & my friend from one of their other eateries, Howick Village Cafe and Hello Stranger. From that moment on we knew the service and the food would be top-notch. Ordered Seafood Chowder which was creamy & tasty and packed with good-sized pieces of seafood (and not typically bulked out with veges). The Buttermilk Fried Chicken Benny was beautifully presented and delicious. Coffees were hot & strong. A good selection of sweet & savoury cabinet food. This eatery is dog-friendly and everyone is well looked after by the staff.

I've been to this cafe a few times before, but I stopped coming because I felt like the portions were getting smaller and the staff seemed unenthusiastic. I recently heard it changed owners and wanted to check it out. I wasn't disappointed. The staff were very warm and friendly, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the portion size was generous—I usually can't finish a plate this big. Of course, this is a new start with the new ownership, and I hope they can keep it up. All in all, there are so many cafes in Auckland, and not every one makes you want to go back.

Hidden gem alert. Mum swears it’s the best fish and chips she’s ever had—light, crispy & delicious. Service was warm and accommodating, and the space is spacious and inviting. No idea how it’s still under the radar—thank Google for the tip-off.

Today was my first time having lunch with friends here. The service was extremely friendly, the food was amazing, and the environment was great. I highly recommend this place.

Had a lovely dinner with my wife and daughter. Our server was lovely, warm and friendly. All three of us really enjoyed our meals, we all had 3 course and loved the flavours of all three. My daughter stole most of my squid , it was her first time eating and it was very tender. Will definitely be going back and enjoy not having to go into the city. Its also a really nice space.

Went for brunch under new management. Food was great, eggs were the right amount of runny, bacon and hash browns were crispy. The place was buzzing and busy, light and airy. Recommend a visit if you're at Okarei Bay.

Second time visit on a Saturday. It was busy as the staff are friendly but once we were seated it does get a little hard to get someone’s attention to order. However we order two dishes and matcha latte. I had the pancakes which initially it sounded amazing on the menu. When it turned up I personally thought the pancake was too thick for my liking and with the spices and nuts added on top didn’t really add anything on to the dish. For the matcha latte I tasted very watered down compared to the other places I have visited. I would recommend their coffee which is amazing the last time I tried it!!!! They also have so many options to buy coffee beans. Overall the vibe is definitely very modern and industrial style perfect for great photos and the ambiance 5/5! Would give it another try but maybe in a less busier time.

Wonderful brunch and fabulous service. We 3 were offered a choice of 2 places to sit and had warm attentive service. Coffee of course was good as was the omelette..super generous and oh my, the kedgeree..best I’ve eaten in years. The corn bread is till on the menu and still delicious and super generous. I haven’t been here in a while and it was lovely to see it’s still as good as ever. I was a bit disappointed the cabinet food options were poor and all sweet; and it is pricey ..but then everywhere is! Recommended.

I really enjoyed my visit here! The atmosphere was fancy yet cozy and spacious, making it a great place to relax. Both the artisan selections and food were high quality and delicious. Definitely one of the better ones I’ve had recently. The only thing to keep in mind is that customer parking is very limited (only about 5 spots), but you can easily park at a nearby paid parking area. Overall, a wonderful cafe experience that I’d be happy to return to!

A great spot to try a range of coffees and find your favourite brew. Also a good range of other drinks for the non coffee drinkers. We have had a few brunch and lunch meals here. It is very busy but the staff are also very efficient! Seating, water jug and ordering by generally friendly staff is quick. It can be noisy so make sure to double check they have heard your order properly.

Nice place in a spot we haven't known about. The service was great. The food was good. I had venison mince on toast, different but tasty. My partner had aged gouda cornbread, with a chilli butter and eggs, and loved it. The normal eggs on toast were apparently also really tasty.

I’ve been here last year and the food was amazing, quite different with other cafe. But this time I think maybe they change their chef and the recipe??The food is so bad. The omelette lose the special taste. I ordered fries and they use not fresh oil to cook. Also overcooked very hard fries. obviously the fries taste very bad. Not recommended to visit here for food.

I quite like the burger, however I would prefer the “pretzel” burger to have more of a pretzel taste. But overall it was still delicious. It is like an outdoor ish seating with a roof. Would love to try other items there.

Place was bustling, came on a friend’s recommendation. Was very expensive but worth it however, there were tables booked well past their arrival time with no persons sitting at them. Place was freezing cold despite the heaters being on and the music was being blasted way too loud causing everyone to yell their conversations.

It is always busy here! They have an outdoor seating area which is really cute during summer. Wings Wednesday is a good deal (6 for $6) but is regularly sold out by around 6pm. Burgers are delish but quite a heavy meal.

I really liked the double smash burger. Classic, can’t go wrong with it and the buns were delicious. Chicken burger wasn’t anything special. Ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken but I couldn’t actually taste any of the chicken. I think the buns used may be too over powering the chicken flavour. Also it was not hot and there were no sauces on the tables. I think you had to pay for extra sauce. There was a lot of the chicken batter in my burger so I wasn’t a fan of that and it just wasn’t tasty. Chicken wings were average too. The fries were incredibly salty. Serving portion was massive but we couldn’t believe the amount of salt there was on every single fry. The service was timely and the staff seemed very nice. Overall would give it a 5/10.

One of the staff was vaping, and the smell spread everywhere – into the kitchen, bathroom, and around the tables. It was really unpleasant. The food wasn’t good either: the fries were raw in the middle and the burger was burnt.

Amazing place to enjoy incredible burgers. I’ve been a regular for a while and I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to leave a review. The staff are all so friendly, welcoming and attentive. You couldn’t ask for a better spot to chill with friends absorb way too much food and beverages. Love this place.

I’m starting to get fed up that every time I visit Parade Ponsonby the service is terrible, a food order is always wrong and burgers are delivered to tables at inconsistent times so that often one person at our table is finished before the rest of the order is delivered. These mishaps happen every time I or friends visit, to the point that it’s expected; however you usually let it go because the burgers are just that good. But unfortunately with the recent success of the hospitality groups other offerings, Bodega / Rosalia’s; Parades last redeeming quality; their burgers/food have gotten worse and worse, that I can no longer excuse the terrible service & order mishaps - the icon that was Parade is just not there anymore.

A nicely presented store with a great gift section. Plenty of healthy plants, from flowers to herbs and trees. The cafe that's integrated into the garden centre has a playground for children, and a tropical vibe if you choose to sit in the outdoor covered space

Wonderful enviroment so we usually have brunch at the cafe and decided to have my sons 1st Birthday party here. The garden was well suited for dinosaur themed party. Guests were amazed at how inviting and cosy the atmosphere was. The food was awesome and very friendly staff. Everyone loved it and had great time. Ranjit was very accommodating and organised the food and drinks better than we expected. Great job and thanks to all the staff at the cafe.

Lush atmosphere with beautiful plants surrounding. We came on Monday, so plenty of space. Ordered chicken pide which both me and my friend loved it. Creamy mushroom was okay. Love the Zealong Oolong tea, full of natural aroma and can be brewed many times.

☕️We went here on Monday morning which is a good time for meeting up friends since it is not too busy and crowded. I like the cafe plants arrangement, it is very soothing in the eyes and you feel relax. It has two sides of the cafe, garden kitchen and the other one besides the kings plants barn. You dont have to worry about the tables, they got heaps available. 👤 Staff were very pleasant and will go to your table to ask if you need anything else. The only thing I could observed is that there food serving and coffee is much smaller than any of the kings plant barn branch. The food is delicious but smaller serving. 🪴🫶They do sell lots of varieties of plants, just by walking around you will enjoy the scenery and be amaze how they did the decorations of the place. It was beautiful. 🫧🗑The place was clean and tidy.

This newly open garden center is super cool, super lush, beautiful with lots of natural light, position itself as NZ’s most sustainable garden center. The cafe has nicely flow indoor and outdoor seating, plenty of plants everywhere, an awesome playground for family with little ones. The cafe is very busy however the service is efficiency. There are good choices of plant base dishes for vegan/ vegetarian people.

The plant barn was a great place lots of beautiful plants for sale. The cafe had good vibes and environment but the food was sad. The croissant was very sloppy and weird. We ordered eggs on sourdough with a side of hash browns and mushrooms. Everything was ok except the hash browns which was quite expensive and we only got one hash brown which was definitely fried a lot of times coz it had soaked a lot of oil good plant nursery but not a good cafe. The staff were wonderful though went out of their way to help

Love this place and I’m not even a plant guy…yet. I was gifted a houseplant which I had to get repotted as she was on her last legs. W organised our Wedding party private function at Rosanna's on the 24th of September and we had a blast. The space is great, with a nice leafy outdoor/indoor flow. The team was fantastic, lovely and very professional, and let us do pretty much anything we wanted in terms of layout, decoration and food. And the food was delicious. We really recommend this place for anyone looking to host an event, the location is central, easy to park around and excellent value for pricing. And the fact they are dog friendly is such a plus. Thank you so much!

If you are looking for a place to have a drink and hang out with friend, then this place is amazing! Beautiful environment with super friendly and attentive staff. The shared platter of baked Camembert is fantastic to nibble on. The calamari and fries are also good but the sauces were the standouts. However if you are looking for a proper sit down meal, then this is not quite the place as the options are limited for that…

Nice place that is dog friendly. They even have a little doggy bed out in the courtyard. The drinks were nice and the staff was very friendly. Food portion size is definitely on the small side - this is not the place where you wanna fill yourselves up. But for the most part, food was good. It’s probably more of a bar than eatery and the service makes up for any food shortcomings.

Place was lovely and the staff was welcoming. Nice place to just sit down and catch up with friends. Came on a rainy day and it was lucky it was just us there, i dont really recommend coming on a rainy day since 80% of their tables are wet! Tho i enjoyed the rain during my visit. The food was good but the small plates’ servings were too small for their price, I’m glad I reserved through first table. Overall a pleasant experience. And thank you to the staff that ran after us in the rain to return my buss pass! Sorry I got you wet.

Really great experience and notably coeliac friendly! Confirmed with staff they have a seperate GF deep fryer, and they have a fair amount of GF options on the menu (including karaage chicken, yum!). Staff were friendly and helpful, and enjoyed the peach iced tea! Atmosphere was lovely, outdoors but plenty of shady spots which I very much appreciated. 10/10, hope to return again soon. :)

It's always a treat to visit this cafe. Beautifull presentation makes it very hard to choose which delicious morsels to try. We went for a Caramelized onion and Feta Tart and a Raspberry and coconut scone. The tart was served with a small salad and was so delicious! We liked the scone but it was a bit crumbly to eat. Coffee was great, hot and strong. I will return.

All the evil treats are right here. I am instantly happy even just looking at them. The taste of their goodies is always the best.

Staff were super friendly and good service. Coffee from eight thirty was great - both the long black and flat white. Interior was spacious with high celinings and nicely decorated white interior throughout. When we visited there was only a small selection of goods compared to other Little and Friday branches, but understandable as they had a notice to say they were short staffed. Staff did really well despite being short staffed. Would like to experience again once staffing is better.

I have mixed feelings about this place currently - the food is amazing and great options for cabinet food. But the service or arrogant and sometimes almost rude. Also can be really slow - 20mins for a takeaway coffee when there’s 8 people in the cafe? Have to be careful because there’s so many good cafe options in Taka - sure, your food is great, but ditch the attitude

Came here for the first time after the belmont store closed down. I got a BLAT and it was delicious. Want to go back for the desserts. The staff was friendly too :)

No takeaway long black should take 20 minutes. This isn’t the first time we have waited this long here, there just seems to be no sense of urgency. When you’ve got other options down the road and next door it’s surprising these guys aren’t prioritizing customer service. I watched several tables follow up on missing coffees and food, so at least we knew it wasn’t personal - everyone was getting the same level of poor service.

Cornwall Park looks absolutely stunning during cherry blossom season! The trees are full of delicate pink blooms, and it’s such a peaceful, scenic place to walk around or take photos. However, it can get very crowded on weekends with lots of people doing photoshoots. I’d suggest visiting on a weekday or early morning if you want a quieter experience and better photos. Definitely worth the visit!

Auckland’s unique working farm city park open to all and gifted to the people by a true visionary. Thank you Sir John Logan Campbell! Gifting 230 acres in 1901 was no small thing and today we get to enjoy it. A park estate like somewhere in England, amazing trees, Kauri mini forest, stainless steel BBQ areas with bins and toilets close to parking. Amazing cottage and bistro buildings plus walkways everywhere. Go and treat yourself and come for the soo pop ring blossom if you can.

A sanctuary in the middle of Auckland, I live close by and able to take daily walks, via a side entrance. A beautiful place with Cherry blossoms in spring, plenty of walks, BBQ and lots of picnic spots. Lots of space so even when's its busy, it never feels crowded The Visionary and founder of Cornwall Park - Sir John Campbell gifted to NZ in 1901 along with lands to fund the upkeep. Monuments can be found around the park and are a beautiful testament, with lots of information on a man that respected the land and the History of the indigenous people of the area

A must-see for anyone in the area, beautiful landscapes and views of Auckland and the surrounding suburbs. There is a nice little cafe before a gentle uphill walk to the mountaintop where you can experience some of the history that this iconic landmark represents.

Beautiful, easy, peaceful walk to a great vantage point with 360° views of Auckland. The park landscape and the variety of enormous trees are worth seeing in their own right

The scenery here is worth a walk. The parking lot on the mountain is closed, so you can only stop at the foot of the mountain and then walk to the observation deck on the mountain. We have probably walked for 20 minutes. If the weather is good, here is a 360-degree view of Auckland on the bay. Very spectacular, if you are coming to New Zealand for the first time, be sure to check it out.

One tree hill is a popular spot in Cornwall Park where you can get a great view of the city of Auckland. It's a good place to go for a walk or a bike ride. You can breathe in the fresh air and bask in the sun.

The place is nice. You can no longer go inside with the car, I was frustrated as I was too tired to walk. I managed to find a nice small parking lot with a nice view of the top. If you are not in for a good walk, don't go there. But, I personally felt the place is highly meditative. Worth visiting.

Another great spot in Auckland for views. It’s a bit of a hike up from the car park but you can call the local council and get a code for car access to the summit if you or a passenger have limited mobility - the number is on a sign at the car park 👍🏻

A very historic place to visit. The view on top is superb with a 360 view of Auckland. Getting up is a bit tricky if you have a car. Better park it at the lower parking level and walk up on top of the hill. It's not at wide on top as I expected but the view is amazing.

Good place for you and family to eat and drink. Good arrangements and nice people. You can eat all kinds of fish 🐟 and see food as well. Quiet. You hear only birds 🐦 🐦‍⬛ 😴 . Come and try.

Nice park with lots to do for kids and lots to see for adults. Was a bit windy and cool when we went, but it was still a great time out by all.

Amazing area in CBD has alot of public toilets, walks down the pier Silo Marina to the Heritage boats, climb up the 3 storey metal walkway. Great views of Sky tower, Harbour Bridge and Rangitoto. Kids park and green spaces fountains. Nice outdoor space.

Where industry’s skeleton grows art’s living flesh, we found Auckland’s softest edges—where sunshine meets the sea. Playground, markets, sunset, City of Sails... Something here will call you.

Silo Park is one of my go-to parks and playgrounds as a mom with a toddler 😁 This playground has sand, which is great for sensory play and a little adventure for your toddler 🪣⛱️🐚 (no slide 🛝)

Love this park! Usually a night market on the weekends and plenty of space for kids, playgrounds, basketball courts, and even flat ground skatepark with some mini ramps. They also host events here like Matariki!

Nice open space, especially nice in the afternoon / evening. Great for walks too with decent views of the city and the sea.

A good selection of different cuisines and a friendly vibrant atmosphere. It’s a food court which I very much enjoyed 🥰❤️

Very nice FOOD COURT, Good food.

Great place to eat. There are many restaurants to choose from, each with its unique style. Worth a visit. I can suggest the El Sizzling Chorizo for a legit Argentinian bbq, Grown-up Donuts for a good bite, Miann for coffee and fancy deserts and Ponsonby Crepes for authentic French crepe. Tip: if you are going for a takeaway, the garage via Brown Street is 30 minutes free. You can always try to find a spot.

First time and we went to 5 different places all but one were outstanding a particular mention goes to Tokyo Club which was so so good. A great place to go if you love good food and all in one spot. We will definitely be back!

My friends and I went to My Fried Chicken in Ponsonby Central, then had dessert at Miann. It was overall very fun with yummy food. The prices were on the higher end, and the table was a bit cramped with limited seating for each food stall? Restaurant? It seems to be a very fancy food court. I thoroughly enjoyed the food there, and I would love to try everything else in there. Parking was a bit tight as usual in Ponsonby, even on a Monday night there were heaps of cars around. I opted to park a bit further away and walked up to our destination. I would go back again, but definitely not during the weekend as I believe it would be jam packed with people which I personally would like to avoid.

This is a cool place to visit in Auckland. There's so many different cuisines to choose from. It's a trendy place, has a great vibe and plenty of options! We had lunch at a japanese restaurant on the weekend. It was our first time here and we enjoyed the experience. Wished we had of found it earlier during our stay in Auckland.

I read in the Urban list that this place is one of the top ten best fried chicken in town. So I have to check it out and true to the ads. It is really crunchy and juicy in the inside. Perfect KFC- Korean Fried Chicken. We tried three flavours: spicy & sweet, sweet soy & og chicken (original). You might like too to try their version of garlic bread, I quite enjoyed it its not buttery but more on garlic cream. Located inside the Ponsonby Central. The food area is quite small but there were seats available when we came @7pm.

Beautiful and tranquil track in the middle of Auckland. Suitable for a jog, a run or walking with your dogs. Car park gate is closed at 9pm.

A lovely walkway around Orakei Basin that takes about an hour to complete. You can bring a bike or a kids’ scooter, as there are no cars on the path, making it safe and relaxing. A perfect spot to enjoy a peaceful walk surrounded by nature.

A great walk around the basin. Lots of hidden secrets that you can see along the way. A great place to take the dog , they can swim in the water and safe. A nice big loop and plenty of parking in multiple locations. Lots of signage to assist with the path. Lots of food and drink options close by too. Great on a nice day

Nice place to go for exercise with your dog. Long walk. Can have a picnic there. Nice place to bring the family and friends and enjoy the view of the water.

This well developed walkway features trails, paved pathways, raised wooden walkways and bridges, and a few stairways. It is great for walking and running, and is popular with locals for dog walking and exercise. It takes a total of about 40 to 45 minutes to walk completely around the basin, and there are plenty of benches to sit and relax on along the way. There are also several boat ramps with parking, and one free parking area. The Basin walkway can be accessed from many points, and is never closed. There is a shopping center on the northwest side, on Orekai Road, with an organic grocery store, restaurants, and cafes, including a few that serve drinks or beers. A great place to spend a few hours for a relaxing walk!

I wanted to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional service my friends, wife and I received during our recent stay at your hotel. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly, from the moment we arrived until our departure. Every member of your team, including the greeters, receptionists, waiters, waitresses, and restaurant manager, provided truly world-class service. We were impressed and will definitely be returning for another visit. The value for money was excellent. Thank you again for a wonderful experience.

I booked with a king bed room without noting that there are difference between regular rooms and harbour view rooms. Upon my arrival, I saw a room with an inside view of a swimming pool under maintenance. Apart from the limited room view, the room is very spacious with comfy bedding. Staff like Lioc, Jeremy, Mizuki, Ashash, Charlene and Catherine are friendly and give me lots of help. The hotel is a little bit afar from the city bus stop but close to the ferry terminal. The fish restaurant at the 1st floor is cool with the open harbor view. For room view upgrade, 70 NZ are needed to add. The architecture is stylish and 🤩 .

Disappointing Stay — Not Hilton Standard I’ve stayed at several Hilton hotels across different continents, but this is probably the worst experience I’ve had. The lobby scent is unpleasant — it smells like a mix of cheap fragrance and sweat. Definitely not the welcoming scent you’d expect from a Hilton. The room was acceptable, but they didn’t provide any bubble bath. How am I supposed to use the tub properly without it? The pool was “under construction” my entire stay — almost a week — yet no one worked on it. Why close it if no maintenance is being done? The service was just okay, but far from Hilton quality. At check-in, the receptionist seemed confused and inexperienced. He charged my card without explaining the details — just said it was for the “total.” Turns out, they charge both the room rate and the deposit together. Overall, the value doesn’t match the cost. I’ll definitely skip this property next time and stay elsewhere.

Stayed for four nights in Oct-25. Great, modern hotel in a prime marina location, close to numerous bars and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful, lending us umbrellas and ordering taxis for us. Both the breakfast and restaurant had delicious food and attentive service. My only frustration is that the pool was closed for refurbishment, and given the high nightly rate we paid, a complimentary drink or some room credit would have been a nice gesture of compensation. The cruise ships docking adjacent to the hotel also mask the view and lead to traffic and pedestrian chaos on the pier.

We came to Hilton Hotel expecting something great knowing how good is the reputation of the hilton hotels around the globe. My wife even had the pleasure to stay at the Hilton Hotel in Japan and during her stay in USA as well. We were naturally very excited about the idea to go together after our wedding to that prestigious hotel with such a wonderful view i have to admit. However we were very dissapointed by the service itself except for the valet, the reception was long and kind of awkward with a receptionist who seemed to not know what to do and her manager that didn't even gave us a look like if we didn't exist ( Not even an Hello)while talking to her staff at the reception. After that we went to our room with a very comfortable bed and a beautiful view and also very view spot to charge our phones and the ones next to the bed were not working.... It could stop there but no. We wanted after that first bad impression to try the restaurant of the hotel. Again I have to say that the service was way below the standard that we have the right to expect from such a place. Multiple errors during our dinner. Wrong plates, waiters not even knowing what they are serving or also the beef that was supposed to be in my plate was forgotten in the kitchen. The worst in that ? It was not even that busy just a few tables, less than the number of fingers on a hand. Also we took some wine and the pouring was kind of childish leaving many marks all over the glass, I am sorry but me and my wife couldn't resist to have a sad laugh of deception. However the food was not bad the entrée the crab cake was really good and the main was ok. After that we go take a look at the pool because before booking it was says that the works would be over end of October so we are going to do some scouting at the pool just to see it closed, still closed. After that new deception we came back to the room to enjoy the rest of our nights when I saw that there was no amenities, calling the reception I had to wait almost 20 min to get what was needed for me to call it a night and what a night. To end my review I paid a certain price that I was thinking would be worth it but in the end I paid for a room that was ok for a service that was at most mediocre , a pool that it still closed and a dinner that was below the standards with a crew that seemed unorganised and overwhelmed to serve 5 tables.

We booked our rooms in April for an October family reunion and they were nowhere near our expectations despite one of us being a return guest. The hotel went under construction in May and at that time the rooms we booked were no longer available yet we were not told about this until about a week before our October arrival. We were then offered a lower grade room with no price reduction until I brought it up. And then we were given, without any input, a reduced price but it was a package deal though I had not previously booked a package deal (the lower grade room alone would have been at a lower rate). We were told we would have adjacent rooms but were given rooms on different floors. The rooms themselves had leaky showers resulting in water all over the bathroom floor. The balcony tiles were all lifted due to water retention and every time you walked on them your feet got wet. The pool was out of service and of course we weren’t told about this. Overall I felt Hilton, in particular the reservations manager, wasn’t forthright about the situation and meeting our guest experience expectations was not her priority. Consequently, Hilton’s reputation has suffered.

Highly recommend staying here. We were greeted by friendly, helpful team on arrival & departure. The Fish restaurant & wine bar downstairs were both delicious & professional with great views. Excellent location close to the water, restaurants, bars & shopping.

What a wonderful place to stay have already been recommending to friends and family. The breakfast buffet went above and beyond our expectations and the staff were super helpful and professional. The beds were super comfortable and the room was clean and had all we needed. The welcome on the television was an added surprise. The key card was super easy to use and parking was value for money and easy to get to the hotel. You guys are doing a wonderful job especially while working through some major renovations which we were communicated about before our arrival.

Another great weekend stay at the Crowne Plaza Auckland. As a regular IHG visitor, their service, rooms, cleanliness is second to none and the buffet breakfast and coffee is a favourite. Always a pleasure, their newly refurbished rooms, lobby and restaurant are awesome! Can't wait till they are all complete. Their executive lounge as an extra addon is great too with fresh canapes and beverages in the evenings. Will definitely be back to stay again soon!

Location is nice, walkable, and close to other attractions like the casino, weta workshop, sky tower, and spas. There is however construction and the area is quite hilly. So a long walk could be quite taxing, but uber pick up and drop off is easy. The staff here was great and deserve 5 stars from check in to room service they all did their job well and were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. I literally melted into my bed. The extra furniture was comfy and the business desk had a great view to the ocean. I could even see the sky tower from my room! The 2 issues I had with the room was: 1. The chromecast had a few issues and the TV itself kept timing out to a Screensaver with the audio still going and this irked me while just trying to relax. 2. The overnight food menu needs better options. At least add the burger to the overnight menu. The pannini wasn't great and for breakfast the omelet dish was way overpriced for what you get. Also, the fries are just ok. In my opinion this menu may need an overhaul. I give 4 stars because I've stayed at 5 star hotels that garner no complaints, so any issue here takes the fifth star away. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone liking for a good hotel in the cbd.

Crowne Plaza Auckland may not be a brand-new property, but it is exceptionally well maintained and managed with real care. From the moment we arrived, everything felt organized, welcoming, and professional. At the reception, we were warmly greeted by Yuika, who deserves special mention. She was genuinely kind, polite, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay — always smiling and ready to assist with any request. Her hospitality truly set the tone for a pleasant experience. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a great view of the city. Everything was in perfect working order, the bed was very comfortable, and the housekeeping team kept everything spotless. The hotel’s location is also excellent — right in the heart of Auckland, within walking distance of major attractions, restaurants, and shopping areas. Despite being in the city center, the atmosphere in the room was peaceful and relaxing. Overall, Crowne Plaza Auckland offers great value, professional service, and warm hospitality. It’s a hotel that understands how to make guests feel welcome. Highly recommended — we would definitely stay here again.

This was my second time staying here. We enjoyed our overnight stay. Kids enjoyed the elevator ride. Location is great if your wanting to roam the city. Staff were lovely 🫶 Breakfast buffet was good! Staff were friendly. 4 ⭐️ as our room needed a good dusting, there was a bit of dust buildup on the headboard and on the cups/glasses. Other than that, perfect stay 🙂 Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Stayed at the hotel for 6 nights, it was an amazing experience. The location, room, the view, the breakfast and staff all were beyond our expectations. The supervisor at breakfast for 5 days was Jubish Baby. He was so kind and friendly, made us feel so welcome and taken care of every morning. On the 6th day he was on leave and his absence was really felt. It's people like him that make a stay truely memorable. Highly recommend!

Central location very convenient for downtown and the sky tower. Recently refurbished modern reception and communal areas however the rooms are slightly dated in decor. Extremely comfortable bed!

Every detail feels considered — plush bedding, deep bathtubs, and little touches like fresh flowers and Nespresso coffee that make the stay feel personal. The service is where Sofitel really shines. The staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, always one step ahead without being intrusive. Breakfast at La Marée is exceptional — fresh produce, barista coffee, and a view that’s hard to beat. The location couldn’t be better — right on the marina, a short stroll to the restaurants and bars of the Viaduct, yet quiet enough to feel like a retreat. The only downside is the parking — it’s limited and quite pricey, especially if you’re staying multiple nights. Valet service is available and efficient, but it adds to the overall cost. If you miss out on the parking availability, you would have to pay public parking prices for overnight stays. Still, the comfort, location, and attention to detail more than make up for it. Whether you’re visiting Auckland for business or a weekend escape, Sofitel remains one of the city’s most refined and relaxing places to stay.

We were celebrating our anniversary and enjoyed a lovely stay in a lovely room. We had a lovely dinner at the restaurant with very attentive service from the maitre d' on duty that evening. The hotel's location is great. There were a few minor service issues which we did not have on our previous stays at the hotel.

She may appear young, but her maturity, people skills, and professionalism are on the level of someone with decades of experience. Her cocktail-making craft was second to none, but what stood out even more was the way she made every guest feel genuinely important and valued. It’s amazing to see this level of service in a time where so many places struggle to even hold a proper conversation with their guests. Celestia didn’t just serve drinks—she created an atmosphere of warmth, care, and excellence. It’s rare to find someone who combines technical skill, emotional intelligence, and natural hospitality the way Celestia does. She elevated my stay beyond expectations and left a lasting impression that reflects brilliantly on Sofitel as a brand. There is no doubt in my mind that Celestia has a long and successful career ahead of her in hospitality, and I sincerely believe she’s a future leader within your hotel. Recognising and promoting talent like hers ensures that Sofitel continues to set the standard for world-class service. My next Auckland trip is in a few months, and I genuinely hope both Celestia and Blake are there when I return—because they’re the kind of people who turn a good stay into an unforgettable one.

We booked sofitel as our last diamond member experience. It was underwhelming tbh. The check in felt very casual , we didn't recieve a room upgrade , there was no welcome gift, melesime was unattended alot of the time and breakfast was just im the hotel area so no milesime breaky and the snacks were extremely limited. We dined in the resturant and it was the worst experience I have ever had. This is something I would discuss further as i almost had a panick attack with the way we were treated. They did not supply the usual sifitel shaver , toothbrushes and bubble bath/bath salts. Anything we asked for things they just never showed up. The spa was booked out well in advance so this was the only highlight when the lady was able to squeeze us in for a massage. This trip was for our 1 year wedding anniversary, we were in high spirits and generally love hotel time . We couldn't get away fast enough. Overall, I would never stay here again as the negatives outweighed the positives . When we left we were not asked for feedback or how our stay was either. Bonjour e te whanau 🇫🇷 thought we’d splash out and check out our local Tamakimakaurau’s own luxury staycation options this Labour weekend. Pristine surroundings when you walk in - took a stab at where reception was as signage isn’t the greatest especially if you’re a newbie to this Hotel. It’s likely targeting a specific market whanau but kei te pai, it shouldn’t stop those of us who are just about a simple getaway occasionally nothing to do with affordability just sensible🥰 Loud and proud 🙌 Although part of the ALL (Accor Plus & Explore memberships etc) be aware unlike Te Arikinui Pullman cuzzies where if you are Gold members up you will not get charged the Room bond of $100 per night. High end Sofitel do unless you are Platinum Diamond or Elite. It’s always good to know ahead whanau. We stayed in the Junior Suites level 5 for 2 nights with access to Club Millésime - nothing spectacular in Lounge, nice to feel a little exclusive but not sure if it’s worth the extra cost. The room itself is well appointed corner suite, comfy bed. The bathroom has a great spa 2 sinks but little space for my whole hair & makeup bag found myself having to find space, it takes a lot of prep work these days 😂 Luxury, a niche feeling - heavily Euro feel understandably being French with a small touch of embracing our Aotearoa uniqueness from entry to various restaurants to staff - needs a sprinkle of Aotearoa wairua & culture to get us to return tbh. Transactional and no relational connection or feel. It took a little bit with meeting Saaliha at front desk - who ended up relaxing once we had a chance to “connect” during the checkin process. Thankfully I’ve traveled extensively to switch between the vibe of a hotel but every time regardless of how many stars - Hei a te mea Nui? He tangata He tangata He tangata. Some advice Sofitel management, what is the most important thing in your world of hospitality - it is the people, the people, the people. Sadly there was nothing spectacular about the menu and food either. If you’re in-house on a Sunday evening, then take a 5-8min stroll down towards the Silo Park night markets 4pm-til late. Grab yourself a real feed from diverse cultures celebrated here in Auckland. Checkout the Doritos Nachos - absolutely delish!!🥳

The front office team went above and beyond to make our stay extra special — even making us Guest of the Day! The spa appointments were amazing, and the food & beverage team took such great care of us. Truly a wonderful experience from start to finish

Perfectly situated for a downtown city stay. Rooms are spacious and elegant, though the air con wasn't working properly - it was either off or hot. Bar is great, breakfast really good, and a shout-out to the greeter in the restaurant on the Sunday morning who was so efficient and professional. Good concierge service, if a little perfunctory. This is now our city accommodation choice. , and also reasonably priced for what we received.

Had a nice lunch with my colleagues here. Ordered a tomato, pesto toast and toppings and Fiordland venison bolognese. They were tasty. I gave it 4 stars because imo it's overpriced. The portion is quite small, so you usually need to spend around $40 to $50 (with drink).

Loved it! They have a spin on bagels and loxs that does not disappoint. My wife got the brisket taco. But my favorite dish was the crumpet with the roof honey. It’s amazing. You can look out the upstairs window near the bathroom and see the beehive.

Orphans Kitchen never disappoints. Definitely not your standard brunch/lunch menu there is something for everyone, fresh ingredients, generous portions and basically everything is delicious. Good beer and wine list but equally good non-alcoholic options which I really appreciate, and excellent coffee.

We were lucky to be in Auckland on the first Tuesday of the month when Orphans Kitchen does an open test kitchen to workshop new dish ideas. The 4 course menu is $70 and you can get matching wines for $35. The dishes we had were all incredibly inventive. They provided great explanations of each dish and the pairing wine, which made it really interesting and fun!

Came in for the 10$ Tuesday crumpet special and was not diss appointed that is more like a 20$ experience and with unlimited refills on the filter coffee. What a great spot and will defiantly have to book in for dinner soon! Sterling Arnet Kakapo Business Sales

Delicious food, fantastic coffee, very popular place. There's extra tables out back, so dont be disheartened if it looks busy from the front! I went here on my last day in town but wish I had discovered it earlier. Good vibes between staff as well, which helps to create a very welcoming atmosphere. I had the venison bolognaise, which was exactly what I hoped it would be. Definitely hit the spot. I also had a black coffee and flat white, and both coffees were delicious. Had heard they offered raw buffalo milk, but the waitstaff I spoke to said that must have been a very long time ago.. I had the housemade hazelnut milk, and that was perfect.
