Event venue
Located in the heart of Sydney's LGBTQ+ social scene on Oxford Street, the Oxford Art Factory (OAF) is a vibrant venue that hosts live musical performances by both local and touring acts. Inspired by Andy Warhol's Factory in New York, OAF has remained a pulsating hub for music enthusiasts, accommodating over 5,000 fans weekly. The venue has hosted renowned artists like Lady Gaga, Courtney Barnett, Gang of Youths, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.
Great music venue, has two rooms and they're both great. Have attended, worked, and performed shows here and it's always an amazing experience. Perfect viewing platform at the back of the main room, and the smaller gallery is the perfect, intimate space. All staff and security are super friendly.

This is such a great incognito music venue! Amazing floor and balcony set up along with a bar that has a variety of cocktails & other beverages. My partner and I saw Shakewell & Fat Nick which was a pleasant & fun experience. The only thing was the security failed to reach an altercation in an appropriate time manner. Would absolutely love to see more of my favourite artists perform here 🎶😊

First time to be here for a concert. Went to see Hannah Bangh perform her first Australian concert last Tuesday 18/03/2025 It’s nice for small events. Sound system is pretty great. Toilet has that grungy feel but not dirty. Drink service is pretty quick. Overall experience 4/5

Amazing venue. Attended the Disco and had. Great time. Good setup, great security. Highly recommend it
Geordie M — Google review
I've attended almost every emo night this year and loved every one. The music is ever so slightly too loud (that's what you get for going to a party/rave so I can't complain) but always a good time. The bar only serves drinks and the toilets are always a bit smelly. The toilets could definitely use some routine cleaning throughout the night. Free water and cups are available for self serve at the bar, which is very mindful, very demure. Security is also always helpful, making sure no one gets hurt or gets too crazy, while still letting us have a good time.
Alex P — Google review
Attended a themed night called disco masquerade (a bit of a strange combination but why not). They played disco / 80s music. There were dancers and entertainers on stage. Everyone who attended seemed to have a very good time dancing. No troublemakers on the night we were there which was good. This is probably also because of the demographic relative to the theme. I will be happy to go again for other shows / theme nights.

I went to both of Hannah Bahngs shows, and wow. The venue is so intimate, and no matter when you get to the show, you'll have an amazing view.

Solid venue, bit expensive if you're after a drink gets very hot too with enough people, would recommend if someone you wanna see is playing there

Mary's Underground, located near Circular Quay, was formerly known as the Basement and has a special place in the hearts of many. The venue now offers jazz performances six nights a week and features a French-inspired bistro-style menu with a dedicated oyster bar. Additionally, Mary's is currently offering takeaway through the Deliveroo app from their CBD and Newtown locations, featuring delicious burgers, pizza, chicken, and sides with an extensive vegan menu.
Amazing 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 I came to this place first time today after my tik tok friend said this is best burger place in Sydney. I have to reveal, It is! The burger 🍔 🤤😍 was out of this world we had the cheese burger with bacon and the chips so delicious as well. Cooked to perfection 😋 good price as well.
Becky B — Google review
Staff are amazing! The space is pretty good, but it does fail a bit when you're seeing a musician who's sitting down for his performance and there's no raised stage. I've never before had to fight to catch only a glimpse of a musician I've paid to see. (I was even on one of the side balconies) Audio quality was surprisingly good for the venue, the tech just needs to calm down a bit when they're playing with the lighting cues.
Sarah C — Google review
The bartenders were hella nice and the live music was good too. We dined there for dinner and food was great. A little disappointed that it was $3 for a small roll of bread and they didn’t provided enough bread for the pate so I ended up ordering like $12 worth of bread for myself (just for entrees) LOL. But ye in general would recommend. Their duck is to die for and we really regretted not ordering two of those bad boys. Ended up fighting over who can have the drum stick. I lost.
Jenny N — Google review
On two occasions, within the same hour, our docket was "lost" so we waited over 25 minute each time for our drinks. If we hadn't have asked about their whereabouts on both times, we never would have received them. When we brought it up to the guy with glasses, his response was "don't have an attitude" and that they were busy. But when we ordered our first round, the place wasn't that busy and on the second time, people who ordered after us revieved their drinks, so being "busy" isn't an excuse. Terrible service and an incredibly defensive response to an honest question as to how it happened twice.

Had such a lovely time here. Great atmosphere, cool band (Tuesday jazz night), attentive staff and delicious menu!! Started off with the ceviche which was amazing!! Then had the black rice with pippis which is squid ink... very good!! Then a silk handkerchief pasta.. silky indeed!! Then a fancy french pie with cheese and peas inside.. wasn't as heavy as it looks so don't be afraid! Side of corn because of course and finished with a beautiful fig tarte. My only sad moment for the evening was being sold to on the lovely sounding description of the paté only to find that it was sold out and at the beginning of the night. But will definitely be back and sampling the rest of this decadent menu (and the music of course!)

Burgers 🍔 🍔 - if you love 🍔 and are anywhere near the CBD then you need to try Mary's. I had the double cheese burger (it was a tad expensive at $16 for the size) but the ingredients (cheese, pickles, sauces) were just right so nothing overpowered the star of the show the meat patty which was deliciously cooked. I'd definitely recommend checking out Mary's and I'll be going back for sure.
Rattan M — Google review
Setting is quite cool, with heavy metal music (very very high!) and nice graffitis all over the walls. Food is okay and prices are Sydney-level. Place is quite small, so we had to queue to sit down. Some of the staff didn’t look amazed to be there.

Taylor's new album release party, it's really good everyone is nice and enjoy it, we sing along with the song, and I got to know some new friends there. Although the connection between songs and the number of songs are a bit insufficient for me, after all, it is not official and there must be certain limitations, which is understandable.

The Lansdowne Hotel, a long-standing establishment in Sydney, has recently undergone a revival and is now run by the duo behind Mary's and the Unicorn. Upstairs, patrons can enjoy American diner eats and weekly trivia, while downstairs hosts live rock bands and seated gigs. The venue exudes big 90s-grunge vibes with a solid lineup of local acts. With a 3am close six nights a week (midnight on Sundays), there's no need to turn in early.
An amazing experience at The Lansdowne Hotel! We had a fantastic day at this place. We enjoyed the rooftop with clear skies, soaking up the sun, great food, and awesome company. The burger with mushrooms was a real winner – highly recommend it! The food was excellent, the service top-notch, and as the sun started to set, the vibe became even more special with live bands, creating a unique and relaxed atmosphere. It’s definitely a spot I’ll be returning to and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a laid-back place with great music and food. Don’t miss it!
Javiera F — Google review
I would not book this place again. We stayed in a private room and unfortunately had a pretty poor experience overall. Communication was an issue from the start, our pre-check-in inquiries via email and (multiple) phone calls were completely ignored. When we arrived, the staff member who checked us in was friendly, which was a small positive. The room looked clean at first glance, but the furniture was dusty and there was rubbish visible right outside the window. The toilet had a constant unpleasant smell, likely due to poor drainage. Noise was a major problem. There was no soundproofing whatsoever so we could hear everything from the busy street below, the pub underneath, and the rooftop bar above. To make it worse, the hotel didn’t enforce its own noise curfew, and we were kept up by loud guests shouting and laughing in the hallways for hours every night between 10PM and 2AM. On checkout, we were told we could leave our luggage, but were given the wrong pin code and lost access to the building immediately after checking out. Since the place was closed and no staff were available, we had no way to fix the issue and just gave up. It’s a cheap place and might work if you only need a place to crash and don’t care about sleeping well. But if you’re looking for a decent or reliable stay, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
Leanne M — Google review
The location might be good and the rooms clean, but everything else is a disaster. The security guard was shockingly disrespectful, and the manager even worse – treating paying customers with arrogance and zero professionalism. They claim you can book easily via reception or their Goki system, but in reality, they simply ignore your requests and show no interest in helping. Communication is non-existent. Don’t expect answers to your queries. Even if you’re above 30, a paying guest, and acting respectfully, they will treat you like a child. There are plenty of hostels in Sydney where staff actually respect their guests – even the one right across the street offers a far better experience.
Nabil D — Google review
Javi & Max are so so lovely, friendly and bring so much life into the hotel! The venue is so cool. The rooms and bathrooms are so clean and it’s such a good vibe :) Defo would recommend to stay and would stay again!
Kaira R — Google review
The Google reviews are not fully honest: customers get a free drink when they leave a review for the staff .... Room: I was in a 8-bed dorm, big room which is very nice ! BUT AC was not working and we can barely open the windows (old building), which anyways are facing a very busy road, so you can't sleep with open windows (even with closed one it's not that easy). As the place is a bar/concert venue downstairs, don't expect to be able to sleep before 23h as it feels like you are in the club but you are in your bed. Staff: the cleaning lady is a sunshine ! She is always in a good mood and caring for the guests. As for the other staff members (like a receptionist), there are none .... You receive an email with the entry door code (in my case the wrong one, lucky me there was a staff member from the bar there to open the door for me) and then you get the 2 floors up (never mentioned, not very nice when you have big/lots of suitcases) to find an Ipad and do the check in yourself. The hostel uses an App to open the doors and there are meant to be codes in case, however I repeatedly asked for them and never got a proper answer. Apparently the reception is meant to be at the bar on the 3rd floor but no need to go there as you do everything by yourself. Facilities: there is only 2 showers and 3 toilets for the entire hostels, which is not a lot. As the super cleaning lady doesn't not work every day, the bathrooms won't be always very clean ... The kitchen is rather small, like the fridge which are already full although the hostel is not. No oven, so forget about a frozen pizza. As for a dinning area, you'll be sitting in the staircase/corridor on 3 little tables because the only other place is the rooftop, which closes at night and can't be used when it's raining .... There are 2 little rooms behind the rooftop, where you can relax but again, you don't have access between 22h and 7h30. Location: I thought that it will be closer to the centre and the touristic attractions but that's on me. There is a big shopping centre across the road with supermarkets, banks (to open an account when you arrive), phone providor etc As they only use the app to communicate with you, don't expect quick help if you have an urgent request and I was quite annoyed to have several request to extend my stay, quite a pushy method. In conclusion, I went because of all the good reviews, which are biaised for me and I was quite disappointed.

Live music bar
Nestled in the creative precinct of Newtown, The Vanguard is a unique and intimate live music venue and restaurant with a New Orleans-inspired decor. This hip hangout offers creative bar bites, signature cocktails, and an eclectic mix of live music performances ranging from blues to Afro groove to tribute shows. The menu features modern Australian cuisine and 'soul food', providing a perfect dining experience before or during a show.
Great venue for our show. Food was non-existent with only corn chips and hummus left to order. We all took their advice to eat at the venue but they didn't have the food next time. Great stage fab lighting Great show Loved the evening 😀

Went to see Aleksiah perform and had a great time. The venue is small but well organised so it doesn't feel that way. However, the bathroom signs were a bit confusing, leading to multiple people walking into the wrong one/s but other than that, everything was great and we had a fantastic time!
Elizabeth H — Google review
Brilliant venue showing a wide variety of awesome acts. I don't come here often (enough) but I love it when I do. I can't recommend it highly enough. The location, vibe, people, food, drinks and of course the acts, are fantastic. Great value too.

We had an amazing evening at The Vanguard. The food was outstanding - the polenta so fine and tasty, the wild boar lasagne, chickpeas and saltbush spliffs flavoursome and perfectly cooked and the wattleseed flan divine. All served speedily by attentive staff. Jeff Lang and band topped off the night - incredible performers. We'll be back.

What a cool venue to see a gig at! The upstairs section gives you a nice view of the stage and floor as well.

Nice venue for live performances. The staff were really friendly and helped out whenever needed. Me and my friends felt safe and was very satisfied how the performances was well co-ordinated. Lighting and sound was ideal enough for me and my friends to still hear and each other and have a conversation. Overall, we were really satisfied with our experience here and will definitely check out future performances and this venue.

Beautiful atmosphere, unfortunately the start time advertised on the tickets was incorrect, the unadvertised support act started an hour after 7, that meant that we weren’t able to stay for the full band we wanted and paid to see. Thanks for listening!

The Sydney Opera House is an iconic arts center located on Bennelong Point in Sydney Harbour, offering breathtaking views of the harbor, bridge, and city skyline. With over 1,600 performances annually, it hosts a diverse range of events including opera, theatre, music, dance, and comedy shows. This architectural marvel is a must-see attraction that draws millions of visitors each year. Its unique design and cultural significance make it a standout feature of the picturesque Sydney Harbour.
Booked the tour and dining experience for $81 weeks in advance. Tour started and ended on time with a group of around 20. Headsets were provided so that everyone can hear the live tour guide. They will ask you to check in any medium or large sizes bags or backpacks, but it's easy and free. Tour involved some easy, short walks and steps, but anyone can manage. Very informative and worth doing. The dining add on gives you 3 restaurant options to choose from, all very close by. There's a special, limited menu just for this deal. I chose Midden which had no wait for lunch time and went with the barramundi dish and pinot grigio. The fish was excellent, perfectly cooked and thoughtfully flavored. Asked for no added salt and they were able to accommodate. Wine was good as well and recommended by the server. Overall, a great tour and dining experience that's reasonably priced

The structure is amazing… just like the pictures you see in Internet. Easy to move around. Handicap friendly. Many spots for snacks and even for lunch or dinner. Inside is big enough to run several events at the same time. We saw The Shiralee… excellent play presentation. Buster really run the show. The terrace around the Opera offers great spots for pictures and opportunities to crash on weddings… many diverse weddings. If you have time, you can visit the Botanical Garden nearby. You can’t miss it, if you are in Sydney!

Of course, the iconic tourist attraction! We usually only take pictures from the outside whenever visiting the Sydney Opera House (SOH). But Alhamdulillah this year we had the chance to watch the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) performance. The architecture is really unique. The view from inside SOP to the Harbour Bridge and the surrounding areas is breathtaking! Each performance lasted around 1.5 hours. The multimedia facility as additional modern setting adds to the amazing theatrical experience. I did not expect to watch the ACO with documentary screening as background. There are bar and café on the main concern hall that serves drinks and light snacks. You can enter from the main entrance located under the primary stairs structure, or you can enter via a door with security check-in table to right after the tourist ticketing area. There are many concerts and arts performances for all ages, not just classical opera or orchestra as I used to think. Well, a famous landmark does not need recommendation. It speaks for itself.
Ira S — Google review
Sydney Opera House really leans into that whole “world-famous icon” thing, but once you stand in front of it you cannot unsee the truth. It looks exactly like a giant rack to dry dishes. A premium, waterfront, government-funded dish rack. Someone clearly put the budget on the wrong Pinterest board. It still looks good, no denying that. The patterns on the tiles are gorgeous, the shape is wild, the whole structure owns the harbor like it pays rent for the sun. But the moment the dish-rack comparison hits your brain, it is over. Those shiny white shells become plates waiting to drip dry. And the big question: was it worth the time and money? Honestly, maybe. It is one of those bucket list things you check off because it is famous, not because it changes your life. You go there, you stare at it, you laugh at how much it looks like kitchen equipment, you take the photos, and you move on. Iconic, yes. Beautiful, sure. Worth the hype? Debatable. But unforgettable as the world’s fanciest dish rack.
Wade W — Google review
Stopped by for a quick look around. Sydney is a beautiful city and this part of town is both historic and swanky. Lots of people about enjoying their evening and overall a very good atmosphere. The whole area surrounding the opera house is lovely to explore.
Sumiitra S — Google review
If you are a lover of Broadway, opera or just to see an iconic building, than this is a must see. Take a guided walking tour starting from the basement on up through the inner workings of the back end. Very interesting and informative. Wear comfortable shoes, it’s a lot of walking. If you are going for a great breakfast, don’t count on it. It’s just meh. Breakfast is at the end of the tour in what they call back in the states their commissary but they call it their green room.
Sharon W — Google review
Architecture that captivates your heart! I didn't get a chance to go inside, but honestly, the outside view is stunning enough on its own, it has its power to grab everyone's attention. Top Tip: If you want the best possible view, take a ferry from Circular Quay after sunset. Seeing the Opera House from the water at night is an unmissable experience.
Kishan N — Google review
To call the Sydney Opera House an extraordinary global landmark is not an overstatement. Its design is a study in elegant simplicity, and it inspires a powerful sense of awe whether you are standing right beside it or seeing it from across the harbor. I find myself at a loss for words to fully express my admiration for this magnificent structure. The architecture's silhouette forms a breathtaking curve where the structure meets the sky. This fabulous view is captivating at any hour, whether in the bright light of day or the dark of night.

Enmore Theatre, located at 118-132 Enmore Road in Enmore, NSW, is a historic venue that has been hosting music, comedy, improv, and live theatre performances for over a century. The building exudes an old-world charm with its art deco architecture and luxurious interior featuring chandeliers and band posters. The seating arrangement includes ground floor stalls with movable seats and an upstairs circle with raked seating.
I went with a mate to see a show here. As I know the area a bit I found parking easily and it was a short walk to the theatre. It was quick and easy getting in to the theatre and to our seats. The sound was great and we were a bit away from the stage. Great venue and nice and small with a 2400 capacity.

Best concert venue in Sydney by far, especially if you're in the seating area. The venue were also equipped with high-quality speakers and lighting. Although the cleanliness and tidiness can be improved a little bit. 11/10

Saw Cat Empire which was a fantastic concert. Maybe stars are mostly for them but the venue was able to host them brilliantly. Refurbishments completed since I was last there also helped create a perfect experience.

Enmore Theatre is one of those places that is what it is, rustic, a bit worn around the edges, but full of character. It’s not a luxury performance hall, but that’s part of the charm. The sloped floor gives great sightlines, the space is easy to move around, bars and bathrooms are accessible, and the atmosphere during a gig is always solid. It’s not pristine, but it delivers exactly what you want for a good night out. Five stars for being true to itself & I'll absolutely continue to attend events there.

Awesome theatre for a concert! The floor ramps down so you get a great view from anywhere on the floor. Has a great bar and the sound quality and air con worked perfectly! Also easy street parking and lots of great bars and restaurants for pre concert.

I had the most AMAZING, SPECTACULAR & WONDERFUL time!!!!! At Sydney’s Emmore Theatre. I had the great opportunity to catch the amazing indie folk singer Faye Webster and wowsers, I had so much goddamn fun!!!!! As I stood in the crowd, listening to “Right Side Of My Neck” for the hundredth time in my life, I imagined myself to be one of the people in the music video of Imagine Dragons: “Demons”. Cold, distant and sad but hopeful yet living my life to the fullest I can.

Nice theatre but needs seating on the ground floor. Standing for 3 hours was a bit much.

The Bank Hotel, located in the heart of Newtown, Sydney, is a popular spot known for its open street view and vibrant beer garden. The venue offers multiple bars and regular live entertainment, including trivia nights and live music. Up on the first floor is Waywards, a small but lively music venue showcasing local and interstate bands and DJs. The bar also sponsors the Newtown Festival and supports the Inner West's entertainment scene.
This was a serendipitous find as we wandered in Newtown, and what a wonderful surprise! Our server/bartender Sarah was delightful and went out of their way to get finger limes for our delicious cocktails. My husband had the best lamb of our whole 2 week holiday in Sydney! My salad was perfect and the garden seating was so lovely.

Had an amazing experience at The Bank in Newtown – Garden Bar! The food was absolutely fantastic — fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. Sorry the pic was taken partly way through eating and not before - we were just enjoying it so much! The relaxed garden setting made it even better. A big shoutout to Jamie, whose service was exceptional — friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. Highly recommend this spot for great food, great vibes, and top-notch service!
Stephanie M — Google review
The Bank Hotel in Newtown has a fantastic atmosphere — the garden dining area is super chill, and it’s a great spot for casual drinks and catch-ups. The food was decent once it arrived, but the ordering process left a lot to be desired. They operate with two separate menus (one for the bar, one for garden dining), which isn’t made clear upfront. We wanted something off the bar menu while seated outside, and were told to order it at the bar — only to be told later that the item “doesn’t exist” in their system anymore, despite it still being listed on both the physical menu and website. It made ordering frustrating and unnecessarily complicated. To top it off, our food took almost 40 minutes to arrive. Overall, it’s a great vibe and the drinks hit the spot, but the service and menu clarity could definitely use some tightening up.
Jackie W — Google review
The Bank's got that cabana-like feel in the beer garden and courtyard in stark contrast to an unassuming sports pub upon entry. Really cool how there are three concealed staircases leading down to the area plus diverse spaces from sections along the corridors to the upstairs bar via separate doors for live gigs. Thanks to Lola and the team for kindly booking us the corner as well as permitting spillovers into the main courtyard - esp. suitable for those dry Winter days!

A GOAT of Newtown, always buzzing and with a fun atmosphere, the Jameson and Dry was my go to and the new club upstairs, "Glitch" has opened. An impressive turn out and 2000'S nostalgia; the pop and rnb anthems of the time are still iconic

Wow! I haven’t been here in ages.Had dinner with a group of friends (who kept raving about it) a couple of nights ago. Everything was sensational! Roast chicken, pork tomahawk, and the veg sides were all unbelievable. Beautiful wood roasted flavour. High end restaurant quality and good prices. Staff were lovely and great relaxed vibe. Will definitely be back. Thank you!

Step into the past at Golden Age Cinema & Bar, a charming venue located in an art deco building from 1940. This retro-chic cinema and bar combo is nestled within the heritage-listed Paramount Pictures building in Surry Hills. The venue offers a unique experience, screening classic, cult, and contemporary films with a focus on independent and creative features. With its intimate 60-seat setting and vintage 1940s-era cinema chairs, this hidden gem provides a nostalgic movie-watching experience.
We recently hosted our event at Golden Age Cinema and Bar and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. We had exclusive hire of the cinema and bar, and the venue itself was a perfect fit—stylish, versatile, and ideal for both corporate gatherings and live entertainment. A special mention must go to Cindy, the event coordinator, who was amazing to work with. She was approachable, responsive, and incredibly supportive in the lead-up to the event, ensuring every detail was taken care of. On the night, Cindy, along with the bar staff, chef, and waitstaff, were outstanding—professional, friendly, and attentive, which made everything run seamlessly. The food was incredible, the drinks were top-notch, and the service was impeccable. The combination of the cinema space for presentations and the bar area for socialising gave our event the perfect flow. Having the option to bring in live musicians to perform on stage in the bar was a brilliant addition that really elevated the atmosphere. We can’t recommend Golden Age Cinema and Bar highly enough—it’s a unique, vibrant venue supported by an amazing team that made our event a complete success.

Such a cute place. The bar is buzzing with life and feels very stylish and sexy. The cinema is very cute and cozy, showing a range of cult films and new releases, we saw Blade, what a fun movie to be shown on a Saturday night. All the team that work there are very friendly and nice. Choc top was delicious, I only wish the popcorn didn’t leave oil all over my hand. Overall, a great place and I can’t wait to return soon.
B Z — Google review
Writing this review is bittersweet because part of me wants to gate-keep this venue forever! But I know it’s the right thing to do. My wife and I booked the cinema and bar for our wedding in October 2025, alongside 40 of our favourite people. We couldn’t be happier and would do it again a thousand times over. The space speaks for itself. It’s ambient and cosy yet elevated and effortlessly cool. It’s as unique as they come - especially for those looking for something urban and off-beat. The food was great , the venue is accessible and has great options for those wanting to stay, like a hotel in house, two cafes and plenty of great spots in walking distance. We worked with Emma along the way and she was everything you would hope for in a venue/event coordinator. She treated our plan with the gravity of one of the most important days of our lives and we’re just so grateful for that. Nothing was ever a problem. She was responsive and open, even helping pressure test our plans at points. Several of our guests told us this was the best wedding they’ve been to - and we credit that in part to Emma and this incredible venue. Thanks team - you guys are the best

Wonderful atmosphere, can’t wait to go back! Really enjoyed the vibe and the interesting films shown here. (Seats were not the most comfortable, as it is a historical site so be aware of this)

I’m a lifelong movie and history lover, so no surprise that I loved the Golden Age Cinema & Bar, which occupies the Lower Ground Floor of what was the Paramount Pictures Building from 1940 to the 1970s. Today I went to a 50th Anniversary screening of Picnic at Hanging Rock, recently restored to 4k. What an absolutely amazing film and wonderful to see and enjoy after such a long time. Golden Age was the perfect place to revisit this Australian classic, and I will definitely return. Next time I will have something to eat and drink in the (original) Lounge adjacent to the Theatrette as it’s so atmospheric. PS Fitting that just around the corner is the Hotel Hollywood 🎬 😊

I always love seeing a movie at this quaint cinema with the adjoining bar. Part of the fun is the communal experience of seeing a film with others wbo really want to be there and react out loud to the scenes in the film. Lots of great movie cboices as well. The Golden Sheaf is an opulent pub located in Double Bay, NSW, offering a breezy lounge, balcony, and beer garden where patrons can enjoy gourmet food and drinks. The historic hotel's beer garden provides a local-friendly atmosphere for enjoying beverages like bone dry French rose or frosty pale ale. With its late license and lively environment, it's a great place to socialize with friends or meet new people.
Always a pleasure booking an event at Solotel venues thanks to Brendan and the crew. It is no wonder many flock to the nightlife of the nation's highest earning income postcode, known for its Wednesdays vibes. The Sheaf boasts such a diverse range of seating and bar areas from the communal courtyard, sports bar, dancing hall, and the upstairs Canopy Bar is not to be missed whilst overlooking the courtyard. The bands downstairs were extremely impressive and performed awesome renditions of ABBA and other classics.

Was too busy to eat or drink there, but not too busy to visit! Last time I was here, There was a couple in America saying “ We can still call her Taylor, even though she’s a girl” (FYI Taylor Swift 1989) Really love the atmosphere. The pub was well maintained. Staff were friendly. Loved having the tree in the beer garden. Reminded me of the oaks neutral Bay. There is also a back entrance, which is handy. Parking out the back. Enjoyed reading the sporting photos and photos famous people who have visited the pub. Also an area for live music. I like the way the poker machines were “encapsulated” within the Hotel. Have already booked a table for the 2nd of November 2029. I can celebrate 50 years of the east suburbs railway, my wife’s birthday and most importantly being able to catch a train to Woollahra station and walking to the pub. No doubt will visit for a meal and beer before then.

Finished work early and went for lunch. You can see it’s a nice place to be just my timing was off for hanging out. Had a chicken parmigiana. The chicken was cooked nicely and the tomato base store bought but used wisely. The cheese was a good choice nice mozzarella with a sprinkle of cheddar on top which made you interested in the dish. Great move. The chips were thick cut so they held their heat ( plate wasn’t pre warmed) but nice. The salad was a bit plain. I had no seasoning/ dressing on my salad but others had just a little olive oil. 4 out of five plates cleaned.

Just wanted to say big thank you to all the staff for helping me to organise my 40th birthday party last Saturday. I’ve rented the private section upstairs called The Canopy for 50ish people. Everyone was super helpful, well organised, and very professional from the coordinator to staff members on the day. You made my special day great 😊

One of the worst, if not the worst place I’ve ever visited. I took my girlfriend there for a few drinks, having a good time, I went to use the lavatory and was questioned with “how many drink have you had”! I genuinely thought the guy was joking! Even now I’m laughing at the fact I got asked this, these guys on the door need a real job, absolute joke! Never again.

The Vic On The Park is a lively and popular corner pub in Sydney, offering an expansive deck, a basketball court, and a revamped menu by Merivale. It's located right across from Victoria Park, making it a favorite spot for families. Meanwhile, the Lord Raglan Hotel across from Alexandria Park prides itself on being a classic pub with no pokies or gaudy smoking areas.
Located at 2 Addison Road, Marrickville, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺. Edit - I have been back to this great hotel a number of times since my initial visit and have always loved it 🥰. The food is always so delicious 😋 and the staff are always so friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is amazing, especially when the live music 🎶 is playing. I love it! Always looking forward to my next visit. 👍😊 This was a great little find after visiting the park across the road. The atmosphere was great and I loved the way they decorated the place. Very cool. The food was great, I had chicken schnitzel and it was delicious. The service was excellent, no complaints at all. Very happy. Would definitely recommend. Thumbs Up!! 👍👍😊😊

We brought Barry the dog for lunch and was so impressed! The outside is huge and was so nice to have a beer garden where we could lounge in the sun, order some really yummy food and we also got a great deal on the pitchers/jugs as a lunch time offer too! The MAIN thing we want to compliment is the staff- other places in Australia we have noticed aren’t great at customer service but here the staff were all friendly, welcoming and SO HELPFUL! They even loved Barry! It’s super dog friendly with water bowls everywhere for the dogs on warm days & you can take them anywhere inside. We would highly recommend the Vic on the Park and wish we lived closer as we would love to come back!

The Vic is a bit of an institution it’s been around so long. Now under the Merivale group and it’s reflected in the menu. The burger is very good as was the lamb with pita. The beer garden is huge with plenty of big screens screening various games and it even had a half court with bleacher seating. The main pub retains its old school pub feel, also has big screens and there is live music some nights. The pub is super dog friendly - there were almost as many dogs as people. Anyone that is allergic or not good with pups running free, this is probably not the venue to visit

The food here is phenomenal. The drinks extremely well made and the atmosphere was top notch but where this place absolutely outdoes itself is it’s staff. Everyone was so kind and had great vibes but an honourable mention to both Jason and Max who truly went so far above and beyond to help me with an issue of some lost property that had great sentimental value. I definitely am becoming a regular patron at this place and absolutely can not thank these guys enough 🙏

The vic is a fine establishment, great smoking area, ample seating and a gigantic tv. My only qualm is that when they’re busy, they’re busy. I struggle to get a drink and the bar staff seem inexperienced and slow. I’ve never had a bad meal here and it’s always a vibe on a Sunday

We came here to try some of the food. It was an interesting experience. On a Friday evening between 5pm and 7pm, the entire menu is 49% off. I wanted to try something different, so I opted for chicken and waffles ($9). The meal was a generous size and quite heavy. I felt that it was cooked and made well. The waffles were soft while the chicken was meaty with a crisp coating. It was served with maple syrup and melted butter. I did not like the melted butter and felt this made the dish too oily. Chicken and waffles are not my cup of tea, but I liked the experience of trying it.

Came for their music bingo night on Tuesday and my friends and I had a good time! They have 1/2 price cocktails between 5-7pm for their happy hour & all the cocktails we tried were pretty good (apart from the Mango one, which was a bit underwhelming). The food is average, but the $1 hot dogs are decent for how cheap they are. The curly fries were tasty though. The music bingo had a great vibe - the DJ was entertaining & the whole concept was fun! Prizes seem to be only vouchers for the bar though. Would still recommend for a fun evening out with friends :)

Would go perfect with the theme <3

I was here for my friends birthday and had a wonderful time, were a group of dancers and we enjoyed vibing on the floor, we kinda wished their was more space as we felt a bit enclosed. My friend ordered the waffles w/ ice cream, she almost came 😭😅😆 The drinks were good, cant remember the cocktail I had but I guess that goes to show how well it did its job 😊👌 The kind bartenders served me quickly to and they seemed to smash out all the drinks fast which was convenient and thankyou for clearing our table of all the cups, sorry for the piles of cups you had to take fron our table 😆👍 Only thing we thought that was a bit undercooked, was the 12am confetti, we literally waited and it was a small bang like kinda underwhelming considering the place was packed. Definitely worth a visit.

But try to be there early before 8.30am to beat the crowd

Came to my first gig here a couple of weeks ago. Was super easy to get in via the security/ticket scanning and then into the outdoor area to grab a couple of drinks before heading into the main hall. Plenty staff working the bar so the line moved very quickly plus two additional bars inside the main hall too. My only gripe was the very average beer selection. Good to see they had chosen a sort of independent brewery as the beer supplier but why would you choose a brewery from over In Western Australia and then choose two of their most average beers when you’re surrounded by local craft breweries. Why not support local Sydney businesses and put on a selection of local beers. I meet a number of people on the night whom had travelled from regional NSW or interstate for this gig, give them the opportunity to try some great locally made beers. Sound was okay, a bit muffled at times but when I listened to the videos I took the next day it was crystal clear 🤷🏻‍♂️. Could have been where I was standing. Also, if you don’t get a spot in the middle of the stage you will get an obstructed view on either side from the columns holding the venue up. Get in there early to secure a good spot. Staging and lighting throughout the night was very good. As was the number of cubicles available, easy to get in and out for a quick wizza without waiting for ages in a line that you can get at other venues. Couple of food trucks also available in the outdoor area which were still knocking out food after the event which was good to see. I didn’t eat from them as I’d eaten beforehand but good to know for any future events.

Frmefest was a great event! It was well-organised with a vibrant, friendly atmosphere. I really enjoyed the live music, delicious food stalls, and seeing the community come together. I was also happy to be part of the volunteering team — it was a rewarding experience. Looking forward to the next one!

Sydney Contemporary is worth visiting alone for the whole room dedicated to making three Jonny Niesche pieces perform at their best, against a long mirror that further confounds the eye. Colour was a focus in the collection from Melbourne’s Mars Gallery, presenting artists including Atom Ateng and Bruce Munro. Keep your eyes peeled for sculptures in foyers, like Augusta Vinall Richardson’s Any Way (2025) and Marley Dawson play on aluminium chairs: 1006 Portal (2024). There was lots of texture on display, including Nic Fern’s quirky cotton embroidery, Real Men Cry (2005). Floating islands of the future impressed from Yang Yongliang on backlit LED boxes, though it was Korean artist, Hwang Seontae, who owned the medium with tempered glass pieces centred upon glowing backlit views. Bronwyn Hill did my favourite collection of photorealism, Tina Fiveash in the photography. Christopher Zanko’s wood relief carvings still catch my eye, as do Catherine O’Donnell’s idealised fibro house details. I was also amused by Donovan Christie’s oil painting of the Women’s Weekly cake I wanted so desperately as a kid. Gerwyn Davies’ costumes converted into RSL club pennants are worth taking a trip into the eating zone for, along with Quality Meat (2025). The amount of floor space sees larger scale pieces like Chinese Carp by Shen Shaomin, and childlike statues by Louise Paramor, draw crowds. There are of course the usual tropes—from dildos (Dale Frank), to cows (Stuart McLachlan), shibari (Adam Parker Smith), rumpled paints and plastics (Helen Calder), resin blocks, ceramic fruit, and neon lights. However, scattered amongst over 400 artists represented by more than 100 galleries, there is bound to be something you like.

The Hordern Pavilion, a 5,500-capacity venue established in 1924, is renowned for hosting frequent concerts featuring globally acclaimed rock acts. This year, the venue has evolved into a space where attendees can immerse themselves in an experience beyond just the performance. The atmosphere allows for pre and post-show hangouts, making it more than just a concert destination.
Amazing place to see a show. Zac Brown and his band fantastic, best I've ever seen. Big shout out to the mixing desk. Fantastic job.

Anybody who is anybody knows that the Horton pavilion is where to go to rock ‘n’ roll. This year Canva showed off they’re absolutely incredible AI vision event where the Omni film festival showcase beautiful work of original generative film alongside incredible speakers and a delicious way of taste. Check the spot out for events and much more!

Caught Slash at The Hordern Pavilion about a year ago and it was an epic experience. The venue has that raw, rock 'n' roll vibe that just fits perfectly with a show like his. Sound was loud and clear — you could feel the guitar solos in your chest! The space isn’t huge, which actually made the show feel a lot more personal. You’re close to the action no matter where you’re standing. Entry was smooth, staff were helpful, and the crowd was pumped but well-behaved. Drinks were the usual expensive venue prices, but nothing outrageous. If you get a chance to see a rock legend like Slash at the Hordern — do it. You won’t regret it.

Great venue, great show. There are plenty of seating options for those not wanting to be on the floor, and the aircon was pumping, which meant that the days of sweating in a venue are long since gone. I really appreciated that. Was nice to be able to get outside between bands, and toilet lines were pretty quick. Overall, it was a great experience.

Really great venue. As someone who has been fortunate enough to experience venues all around the world this is definitely one of the best. Great sound + lighting, fantastic AC, as well as a great selection of food trucks and drinks. Fantastic choice of standing or seating (you can see everything from the seats)! Staff have always been super helpful and they are effective at getting people in quickly and efficiently.

I've only been there 3 times recently for EDM shows and it's been a great time. The lights/lasers and acoustics setup is pretty great. To no surprise, it's really just a giant dance floor but getting in and out is quite painless and efficient. Good times!

Goros is a vibrant izakaya in Surry Hills that offers a unique blend of late-night entertainment. The venue features long tables, bar seats, and karaoke booths where guests can enjoy Japanese snacks and sake. The neon-lit space is perfect for indulging in dumplings, char-grilled skewers, okonomiyaki, karaage chicken, burgers, and crinkle-cut fries with Japanese curry ketchup.
I came in with my partner after our date, as an activity to wrap it all up, and may I say I was not disappointed, in fact I was very delighted by the atmosphere and service of the staff. Time I entered was around 9-10pm, exiting at 12am; the venue was very quiet, but my partner and I enjoyed it more as it was. The some of the cocktails were a great price, and the amount of activities you can do for free are amazing even the paid one are very much worth it. Very last shout out to the staff there, especially Fred, thank you for providing the awesome service and information about the event/activities around the place, will definitely come back again!!!!

Where do I even begin? I made a booking for 12 people weeks in advance only to arrive and find a table set up with just 8 seats. I had to speak with two different staff members and their solution was to add another table that was a completely different height and shape, hardly ideal for a group celebration. When I made the booking I clearly stated it was for a birthday. I’m not sure why they even ask that question, as there was absolutely nothing special done to acknowledge the occasion. On top of that they placed us on the dance floor, and not even an hour into our booking we were told all the tables in that area were being removed. This happened while my friends were still eating. I had to once again raise concerns with another staff member, who eventually relocated us but we ended up being split between two separate tables. As if that wasn’t enough, when I finally thought I’d be able to relax and enjoy my night, I asked for the birthday cake I had brought with me only to discover it had been given to someone else. The staff didn’t check, confirm a name or ask for a table number they just handed my cake to someone who was leaving the bar! I had to speak to another three or four more staff members before getting any answers. While the manager did offer immediate compensation for the lost cake, the entire experience was far more stressful than it should have been. It’s a real shame because the venue is beautiful, the food was great, and the drinks were reasonably priced. But the lack of organization and poor communication among staff completely ruined what should have been a special evening. I spent more than half my birthday dealing with unnecessary issues instead of enjoying time with my guests.

Had a nomikai at Goros and it was an unforgettable night. The matcha sake was delicious — creamy, slightly sweet, and a bit earthy, really unique! The whole bar has this cool mix of Japanese izakaya and Tokyo arcade energy, with great music and a buzzing atmosphere. Staff were super friendly and the vibe made it easy to just relax and enjoy. Perfect place for drinks, karaoke, and late-night fun with friends in Surry Hills.

My best friend's Hens was here a few weeks ago and I had stuffed up and booked a table the wrong night. The staff were so accommodating about my error and were able to book us again for the night of and I just want to say thank you so much. She had the best time and we partied hard. The drinks were so good, excellent chip quality, the vibes were hard, and she felt like a princess. Thanks again Goros and to the staff, I'm sorry I stuffed up!

I recently celebrated my birthday at Goros and had such a fun night! We booked a 1 hour 45 minute karaoke session and then spent some time at the bar afterwards. The service was great — the staff were lovely, friendly, and accommodating throughout the night. The atmosphere is lively and perfect for a celebration. My only wish is that we could’ve booked the karaoke room for a bit longer, because everyone was having such a good time and didn’t want it to end! Other than that, it was a really enjoyable experience and I’d definitely come back again for another night of singing and drinks! 🎤🍹✨

I love this place! I'm definitely older than most customers, but I really love the ambiance, the food, the facts that there's so much to do (games, karaoke, isolated tables vs. Dancefloor). The Union Hotel in Sydney is a spacious and modern venue with a beer garden, offering an extensive selection of craft beers from 22 taps. The pub also serves classic pub grub and hosts live music events. Situated in a bustling inner city area, the hotel provides off-street parking and easy access to public transport. It offers a great atmosphere for enjoying craft beer and delicious pub-style food, with options for both indoor and outdoor seating.
Love Happy Hour at The Union. Good selection of nice wines my favourite is the Rose & Pinot Grigio on $6 a class from 4-6pm and they have just replaced the old arm chairs with new super comfy chairs. They do mal deals every night. Have friendly staff a strong local following and my favourite is the rear area quieter and had a power point where you can work away in peace and charge your phone. I go often after College mid week!!

I ordered chicken parmy and my friend ordered medium steak. Contrary to the info in menu, the staff forgot to check with me what type of sides do i want. I end up getting generic chips and bbq sauce. Didnt like the chips. My friend got sweet potato chips and that’s actually better. The steak? Not so much. Plenty of seats. Hard to get phone reception at the back.

Great old school pub down near the end of king street in Newtown. Came in on a Tuesday so not very busy. Had a few appetizers such as Korean spiced chicken wings. Very nice. Crunchy, good flavour and just a little hit of spice so if you are not a hot food fan, these are fine for you. Mac and cheese bites with a marinara sauce and some wedges. Fair price and I would of went with the 17 buck special on Tuesdays(schnitzel) but I had one the night before before. There is other good stuff on the menu and I will try next time I go. It's bigger than what it looks from the outside. It goes a good back and then opens up a bit on the left. There is a small beer garden down on the right hand side. Being the beer snob that I am, I was very impressed but what they had on tap. Looks like they have rotating taps from different brews on a regular basis. Much like hotel Sweeny in the city but this is better as you don't have to smell cigarette smoke while you are enjoying your beer. Would be nice if they served in pints and had tables out front or at least seats at a window so you can do some people watching. My first time here and will definately come back, especially to try new beers.

A great pub for locals and travelers alike and the best craft beer selection in the Newtown / Erko area. They run 15-20 taps, with meal, drink, and pool specials throughout the week. Food is best described as pub and some 'elevated' pub fare, and is quite solid with standouts being the eggplant parmi and lamb ragu. Front of house bar area is mostly for watching sports, live music, playing pool, or drinks with mates. Back of the house dining area provides a quieter experience that is very friendly for small and large groups alike.

Visiting a friend for an hour or so and decided to nip into the Union Hotel for a couple of cold beers and an early lunch. Situated in a busy hub of inner city activity. Loads of traffic but off street parking away from the Main Street and also public transport make it accessible and easy to get to from anywhere and everywhere. Beer prices match most if not all inner city pubs and the chicken wings with hot sauce was very well made and delicious. Pricy but again there’s the option not to eat. So you get what you want when you ask for it. Pool tables and lots of seating with booths, table top square for foursomes and raised round bar tables and barstools for singles and or couples. Union Hotel wasn’t busy but enough trade to give it a nice calm inner city vibe. Outside is a semi-covered area for drinking, smoking and vaping. There is also an extended dining area as well as well as a pokies area just off to the right of the main bar. Pleasant, clean with easy going and friendly staff with a selection of traditional good pub food including a diverse beer selection.

Live music venue
Manning Bar is a popular music venue located within a university campus in Sydney. It offers excellent sightlines and has a balcony where guests can enjoy drinks while still being able to hear and see the performances. The venue hosts various tours and concerts, featuring both local and international artists. Despite being a standing-only event space, the staff are accommodating and strive to ensure all guests have an enjoyable experience, even going as far as providing seating for those with special circumstances.
Within the USYD grounds, this bar hosts some great events, with a stage upstairs for local bands to perform. It’s really good and you can get very close to the band members as they perform.

This is one of the best live music venues in Sydney. It's so intimate, therefore, an amazing experience with every band you see. Shame about the drinks and service. Poor drink options that are way overpriced, and slow/poor service are usually the only thing that mars the night.

Went and saw Cog Play over the weekend, was a great show. The venue itself isn't bad. Three levels and different set ups depending on the show happening. Was $10.50 for a beer but what can you do in Sydney but still ridiculous. Seemed clean and well maintained however.

One of my favourite spots for live music. The sound is top-notch, and unless you're standing behind the tallest person in the city, you’ll get a good view of the stage from almost anywhere on the floor.
Julian T — Google review
One of the worst venue experiences I’ve ever had — and I’ve been a sound engineer for 20+ years. Despite having hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of gear, the mix was appalling: guitars inaudible, distorted, unbalanced — the worst sound I’ve ever heard at a gig. On top of that, the bar staff were brash and unprofessional, and the front door staff were extremely rude, even trying to make us leave before we could collect our VIP signed set list that had been promised by email. For a venue of this size and reputation, it’s completely unacceptable.

Could have charged much more for a quality concert that ran for 4+ hours without breaks. This was the last concert of this tour. People flew up from Melbourne, drove from Toowoomba, choppered in from the Southern Tablelands, bussed in from the Hunter. Many different accents, huge range of ages (well even Marcia Hines is 69 and the group I was with had to look it up). Great intimate venue, staff excellent, lots(!) of very evident security who were nevertheless unfailingly polite.

Crowbar Sydney is a fantastic venue for live music — I’ve seen many great bands here, and the atmosphere never disappoints. The space is well set up for gigs, and it’s definitely a go-to spot for anyone who loves live shows. As for the food, it’s tasty with some standout items (the fries are especially good), but I do feel it’s a bit overpriced for what you get. Still, it’s nice to have decent food on hand while enjoying the music. Overall, Crowbar Sydney & Ultimate Pig is a must-visit if you’re after quality live music and a good night out, just go in knowing the food is on the pricier side.

Every time I’ve been to this place I’ve had excellent service. Renae and Cameron have always done a fantastic job serving in a casual yet professional way. Perfect for this kind of venue. Love paying $25 for a Coles multi-buy burger bun, that was toasted with the chefs hot breath, with a single patty of the saddest excuse of meat that rivals a coke fiends 2am attempt at self pleasure. The sprinkling of leftover chips on the side of the plate was weaker than the West Tigers defense this season. Jake Howsam Lowe said the pizza was great though.

WOULD BE 0 STARS IF I COULD ! My partner and I had an absolutely shocking experience at Duke Hotel Enmore. While we were minding our own business, two staff members, an English man with a strong accent and a woman with black hair and a blonde strand who proudly boasted about being on break and working their began screaming at us, mocking us, and making obscene gestures, including swearing and putting their middle fingers up. Their behaviour was aggressive, completely unprovoked, and utterly unacceptable for anyone representing a hotel. The woman with black hair went so far as to make disgusting, mocking comments about my sexuality followed by asking if I “wanted to touch her hair ” while laughing at me and making fun of my clothing, knowing I’m queer woman with my partner. This behaviour was not only unprofessional but deeply offensive and discriminatory. Things escalated when they continued shouting and even came close enough to spit as they yelled. Despite us trying to ignore them, they kept up their harassment. To make matters worse, when the manager finally came over after witnessing their staff’s behaviour, instead of addressing it, he accused us of being the problem and told us to leave( despite the fact we had just bought drinks and had to leave them there ) . One of the staff members even raised his fist in my face and shouted at me while I remained silent while talking to his boss. I have never in my life experienced such disgusting and unprofessional behaviour in any hospitality setting. Management should be ashamed of how they handled this defending such behaviour is unacceptable. I strongly advise anyone considering staying here to think twice. I have definitely considered filling in a report to anti discrimination along with reporting to liquor and gaming NSW under the behaviour of staff if a formal apology is not attended to. This situation has caused my partner to feel extremely unsafe around this location especially considering we are locals.

I visited here during the day when it was a relaxing spot for a drink, sat in the large open windows watching the world go by. But for any rock music lover it must be a dream place in the evening - even the food menu is geared appropriately to the genre! There’s a full set up on the stage for bands and the decor has lots to admire as well. A decent pub for sure and one I’ll return to soon.

Is saying you go to The Duke for the food like in ye olde days saying you buy playboy for the articles? You could seriously go here just for the food, it’s excellent. But you could also check out a free band, have a pickle back, or go to an obscure film screening night. The Duke preserves the best parts what used to exist in venues like Frankie’s and the Flinders, and adds a flavour uniquely Enmore. You’ll either love it or hate it, but it is easily the best rock dive night out in Sydney.

Club 77, a legendary establishment in Sydney, has undergone significant changes over the years. Once a hub for alternative electronic and house music, it recently celebrated its 25th anniversary with a makeover inspired by New York City dive bars. The club now features cherry red walls, a sticky floor, and an acoustic treatment along with a KV2 Audio system specially tuned by Translate Sound (7RANSLA7E).
Club 77 is one of Sydney’s best underground spots — great music, energetic ambience, and a true late-night vibe. The DJs always deliver quality sets, and the lighting adds to the atmosphere. Staff and security are friendly and professional, making it a safe and welcoming place to dance and unwind.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This place was a terrible experience. The staff were unnecessarily rude from the start. One of my friends was denied entry simply for “being here an hour ago,” even though he hadn’t been and was completely sober. To make things worse, another group waiting for their Uber on the corner was told to move along because “standing in the street was unnecessary.” Definitely avoid this place at all costs. Edit: after reading all the negative reviews, can see a common trend here RACISM. My mate was brown and got denied entry when he was completely sober and polite whereas the white girls got in fine. So if you are Asian or brown don’t even bother
Jessica Z — Google review
Absolutely disgusting experience at Club 77. We went to the door, I pulled out my ID, and without hesitation the security guard told me: “I cannot let you in for public intoxication.” This was a complete lie. We had barely had anything to drink, and when I asked for an explanation, he refused to answer. I even asked another staff member standing outside, and he also ignored us. No reason, no respect, nothing. We came all the way from Brisbane to enjoy our holiday and instead we were treated with zero professionalism. The queue was EMPTY, yet while we stood there confused and humiliated, at least eight other people were let in without a single issue. This made it crystal clear to us that the decision was personal and discriminatory. To make matters worse, I overheard someone leaving say this club is known for being “racist.” Now I’m left wondering if we were refused entry not because we “looked intoxicated,” but because of the way we looked. If that’s the case, it is shameful, discriminatory, and completely unacceptable. This club hides behind fake excuses instead of treating people fairly. If you value your time, your money, and your dignity, DO NOT waste it at Club 77. Sydney has plenty of venues that welcome people with respect. This one should be avoided at all costs.

Went last weekend expecting some of that nice vibes this place used to be known for, but wow… Felt more like your local rsl than the iconic Sydney spot it once was. $15 just to get in, and for what? A spotify playlist doing the hard work because apparently having a Dj was too much to ask. (Yes, you’re right, a club with no Dj). Also the bartender had no idea how to make a whiskey coke. Really wanted to like it, but I can’t recommend this place. Save your coins and enjoy your own spotify playlist at home. Update: there’s a video showing the CDJ’s playing by themselves. Every time I go to Club 77 it’s guaranteed to be a good night, but last week was especially fun. Everyone is always super welcoming and nice and not only is Jalisa the best bartender, super sweet and nice, but she was killing it on the decks last friday!!! She has tracks for daysssss, can’t wait to see her djing again

I enjoyed this place very much. The music can be hit and miss like most other clubs, if you’re lucky you’ll get a good one. The staff are nice and friendly. The carpet is sticky which is similar to other similar places.

The security at this venue refused entry to my friend with a disability saying that he was intoxicated. However, he has an intellectual disability that means that he sometimes he seems affected by alcohol when actually he is simply managing his disability. This was disappointing as I was hoping that my friend could feel normal on a night out. Seems like club 77 is for everyone except people with a disability 🥺.

Nestled on Enmore Road, the Trocadero Room is a vibrant live music venue brought to life by the creative minds behind some of Sydney's beloved bars like Earls Juke Joint and Jacobys. This exciting space pays tribute to its historical roots, once serving as an ice-skating rink and movie theater. Now, it’s the go-to spot for discovering emerging bands, DJs, and comedy acts while enjoying a lively atmosphere under twinkling disco balls.
Cracking bar with such friendly staff, a cool space and great drinks. Terrific place to see a small band.

Attracted to the place by the sounds of the band called the Midwives we decided to hit up the bar after a gig at the Enmore theatre. We missed the trocos live bands but they had bangin tunes, had great convo with the bar staff and super tasty drinks. Lemoncello slushy for the win. Gives off a more classy clean version of the Cherry bar in Melbourne vibes but I've been assured they will develop more dinge and grime at the Troc in time to match ;) Great live band venue. Highly recommend and will be back when we hit up our next gig in the city.

We walked past going to a show at the Enmore. When the show was over my partner and I decided to pop in for a night cap. We could not of made a better decision, the atmosphere, bar staff and vibe are on point. This bar is our new local whenever we come up to the big city. Must visit.

Located on the Lower Concourse below the Opera House, Opera Bar offers a spacious outdoor area with a relaxed atmosphere. The venue serves bistro food, including pizza, and an array of cocktails. With ample seating, some under cover and near heaters in winter, the bar also features a rock bench offering unobstructed views of the Harbour Bridge.
The food and drinks here are worth 5 stars. Everything has a burst of flavor. The atmosphere cannot be beaten, you are outside with pulsing music, on a water front, with an energetic crowd being overlooked by the opera house and Harbour Bridge as boats pass by and bats circle overhead. I try to get at least one night out here every trip o take to Sydney. It's calming. I recommend to all my friends to come here and they all day they love it.

Everyone already knows how beautiful the atmosphere is here — it’s one of the main reasons people come. As for the food, the taste is average but enjoyable, and overall it’s good value for money. The prices are actually quite reasonable considering the location and the setting. A Margherita pizza costs about $23, while beers and cocktails start from around $19. If you come around sunset, the view is absolutely stunning and the ambiance becomes even more special with live music playing in the background. It’s a lovely place to relax, have a drink, and soak in the vibe. However, be prepared to wait a bit for a table because it’s always busy and seating is quite limited. One issue the restaurant could improve is table management — sometimes there are only two guests sitting at a large table, which makes it harder for others to find seats. Despite that, the overall experience is still pleasant. It’s the kind of place you visit more for the atmosphere and views rather than just the food. Perfect for a casual evening out or drinks with friends, especially if you come early to catch the sunset.

Best bar hangout in the world! What a marvelous concept with a bar towards the ocean and one of the most iconic buildings in the back. If you come here after 7 pm there is live music/dj playing and together with excellent food and drinks it makes a unforgettable memory 4 life. We went here several times and will be back again before heading home to Europe. The order system was excellent with rapid service.

This place is the definition of dont judge a book by its cover. It looks stunning and has a beautiful view of the Opera house and Harbor. They have security there to check IDs and the day we came if was raining so we had raincoats on. He asked for ID and as I went to get mine I asked him to hold my sunglasses for a second so I had a free hand, he then looked at me like I had spit on him. The staff are overall rude and non efficient, very emotionless and careless. More often then not I could see security laughing with regulars and leaning constantly. The menu itself is all digital and looks really good but the food and drinks and pretty bad. They look amazing but are average at best. The drinks and food are also overpriced. However they do occasionally do live music which ive heard is decent. Seriously wouldn't reccomend.
Sue D — Google review
Lovely views from this iconic spot, but on a windy day, it's in a wind tunnel. On my second visit, I didn't like the monotonous montotone music (just not my taste) from the 'live DJ'. Every track sounded exactly the same which became irritating after the first 15mins. More hype than atmosphere. I did enjoy the cheesy garlic bread though and the staff were friendly. Nicer for a quick coffee rather than drinks & food.
Cumbrian L — Google review
Best place to spend some worthy time. After a busy day, find the perfect spot at opera bar so that you have view of both Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Just sit for a while, enjoy your favorite drink and snack—the view will embrace you with peace and a sense of belonging. If I would get a chance, would like to visit again, as this place is such a vibe.
Kishan N — Google review
We come here mainly for the view - it really is the standout. We ordered via the QR code(impersonal but convenient), and while two of our five dishes arrived within about 10 minutes, the kids’ meals and chips took another 25 minutes to come out. It wasn’t particularly busy, so the wait felt a bit long. We tried the spring rolls, dumplings, chips, and two kids’ meals. The kids meals were $15 each which is good value. However the spring rolls and dumplings were a little bland and could have used more flavour. Overall, we’d come back for the view, but at $78, there are probably better food options elsewhere.
Jenna A — Google review
Recently changed ownership and there is a new menu which is quite good. Just have sharing stuff but everything was nice. It is a very busy place particularly on a sunny day and weekends so you can wait for a cocktail up to 30mins and you might need to fight for a table. Service is otherwise friendly amd efficent, clearing tables quickly. Can't go wrong with opera bar given its location. Views are always the selling point.

The Glenmore Hotel, located in The Rocks, Sydney, is a historic pub spread over three levels. It offers elevated fare, a cocktail bar, and a bustling rooftop with stunning views of the harbor. The rooftop provides clear vistas of the Sydney Opera House and Circular Quay, making it one of the best rooftop bars in Sydney. The hotel's heritage-listed building has undergone restoration to preserve its original features such as fireplaces and bars.
The staff are incredibly friendly. Service is very efficient. If you’re fortunate enough to get a table on the rooftop you’re doing very well. It’s such a popular place that’s a challenge to find a table up there but even so, sitting anywhere in this charming old pub is a pleasure.

The Glenmore hotel a stunning multi level venue perched between the Sydney harbour bridge and circular quay in the rocks over looking beautiful Sydney harbour from the rooftop terrace. With heritage charm and decor, Offering a range of tap beer, wines and spirits paired with a lavish menu with something for everyone. Food was hot and tasty, just bit inconsistent on arrival times. Hi tables and chairs in the direct sun can be a be uncomfortably as they get really hot so pick your seat depending on weather. Otherwise plenty of other indoor and outdoor options. Friendly staff, Fairly priced. Would recommend

We had a great afternoon at the Glenmore where we had arranged to meet up with a bunch of friends. We had a room to ourselves close to the bar, for food was fantastic and service quick. Some of the food we had included the Glenmore bowl, chicken skewers, falafel bowl, barramundi and the fish sliders - so tasty. I highly recommend you book and take your our of towners there for the Sydney Rocks Experince. We will be going again.

Great spot and popular. Disappointed to get there at 11.00 am wanting to upstairs to rooftop to be told it wouldn't open for 40 minutes, that's fair. 40 minutes later a lot of disappointed people not just when roof top opened up and we find all tables booked, would have nice to have been told this when we walked in. Granted a Friday, not a weekend, and Fridays not being what they used to be in the city (thanks to covid) didnt think you would need to book.

My students had a great time celebrating their graduation; thanks for making it so easy to make a group booking, and for taking into account my request for the harbour view table. This is the 3rd or 4th time I’ve brought a group of students for an outing, and your venue and staff are always fantastic. 😊 I will say that food service was quite slow yesterday; one of the meals (a schnitzel) took almost an hour to come out. It’s not ideal when the reservations are so tight! Overall, still fantastic, will definitely be back.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch on the Glenmore rooftop recently. Very good pub food, good quick service even though the rooftop was full. Only issue was two of us had the sun beating down on our backs, with no way to escape into the shade of the umbrella. I wouldn't choose to sit in that spot again at midday on a hot day. Otherwise, it was great.
V N — Google review
I would like to say that in particular one member of staff we interacted with was delightful and I hope she is commended with being the brunt of our discontent when it was not her fault at all. We booked the rooftop for some drinks and arrived ordering some beers and cocktails. Beers were no problem but the cocktails were still missing 20 minutes later. We follow up on the cocktails to be told they had run out of ingredients for those cocktails and in fact we had to select different ones. After doing this the member of staff returns to say there is no record of payment so could we prove that (we were not offered a receipt at any point in this process) Finally this gets cleared up and the cocktails arrive. In the meantime we ordered food and in a good amount of time 5/8 meals arrived. After 15 minutes the other 3 still hasn’t so we enquire about the whereabouts of these meals. Two arrive immediately having clearly been sat there waiting with no staff. The other arrives in another 10 minutes piping hot and clearly forgotten about until the moment they were reminded. Overall I believe the individuals do their best and they deliver fine drinks and average food for a large price however the communication is horrendous and there is clearly a fundamental problem within the staff that needs someone far more clever than whoever is currently in charge to fix. I would recommend for an expensive beer but nothing more.

Modern French restaurant
Restaurant
Restaurant Hubert is a sophisticated venue in Sydney that offers classic French dishes and a lively bar with vintage decor. The ambiance exudes old-world glitz and glamour, reminiscent of post-war French bistros in Paris. The menu features signature dishes like chicken fricassee, steak du Jour, and prime beef wagyu tartare.
Hubert is easily one of my favourite spots from my Sydney trip. From start to finish, the service, ambience, and vibe were just surreal — something you don’t often get in Melbourne. We had a tight schedule and needed to finish within an hour, and the team went above and beyond to accommodate us, which I really appreciated. The food was exceptional: • Steak (130g Wagyu) – cooked perfectly with a great balance of fat, exactly how I wanted it. • Layered potatoes – fantastic pairing with the sake; really enjoyed the textures. • XO escargot – blew me away, I was literally licking the sauce off the plate; the Asian-fusion flavours were incredible. • Roe boat – solid, enjoyable but not a must-have. • Duck parfait bread – complimentary bread was outstanding, perfectly soft and fresh. Overall, Hubert nailed the balance of creative dishes and perfectly executed proteins. Steak alone is a benchmark, but the other dishes really elevated the whole meal — far beyond what I usually experience in Melbourne. Highly recommend.
Christopher W — Google review
We had an amazing experience at Restaurant Hubert! We tried the duck parfait which came with complimentary bread. It was absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly, probably one of the best we’ve ever had, and the lamb cutlets were tender and full of flavour. We also loved the beef tartare, so flavoursome. The escargots were a bit mid compared to the other dishes, but everything else more than made up for it. The service was warm and attentive, and the staff were attentive and made us feel welcome. The live jazz music added such a great atmosphere to the night. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience! Easily one of my fave restos in Sydney now

Had a truly French night at Hubert! Every dish was impressive—especially the duck, steak, and escargot. The meat was tender, juicy, and full of flavour. What truly elevated the whole experience was the impeccable table service and the enchanting live band, whose beautiful songs created the perfect ambiance. A divine dining experience from start to finish. Highly recommended!

Food was absolutely amazing. Had the beef tartare, cote de boeuf, murray cod and beef bourguignon - all highly recommended! The staff were all very attentive and kind but the maître d’ was not very friendly, especially in assisting for the accessible toilet. He initially directed his staff to inform us that the accessible toilet was not available for use even though I was told it was available when I called ahead. Only when we talked to him directly did he bring us to the accessible toilet outside the restaurant. Overall, food was really good but the Maître d’ could’ve been a little more accommodating to the differently abled.

My husband took me to Restaurant Hubert for our 15th wedding anniversary last Friday and all I can say is that I am SO glad he did! The live jazz music as we walk down the stairs was amazing! The staff, very knowledgeable, friendly and extremely professional! The food, outstanding!

1. You can enjoy your meal while watching a live performance. 2. They have a wide selection of alcoholic drinks, and the seating area is spacious with various options. 3. It gets quite busy during dinner time, so I recommend making a reservation in advance. 4. The prices are on the higher side. If you’re just looking to have a casual drink, I’d recommend checking out one of the pubs around Chinatown instead.

We went there for dinner, and it was such a lovely experience. The place has a beautiful, cozy atmosphere with live jazz music that made the evening even more special. The service was great, and both the food and desserts were absolutely delicious. My husband and I really enjoyed it!

I like this place. It has 5 floors, though only 2 were open in the day we went. Shame as one of the floors was the roof. ⭐ 1 Star Kings Cross Hotel I came here expecting dinner and drinks, but apparently, the real entertainment was the wildlife! While eating my meal, I made an unexpected new friend — a rat casually crawling around the bar and dining area like it owned the place. Safe to say, once you see a rat strolling past your table, your appetite vanishes pretty quickly. Not exactly the vibe you want when you’re paying good money to dine out. Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re into sharing your dinner with the local rodent community

I had a terrible experience at King’s Cross Hotel tonight. The security staff, particularly the black security guard, was extremely rude. While it was understandable that he didn’t let us in with a bottle of water, his attitude was completely unacceptable. He actually tried to take the water from our hands in a very aggressive manner. I’ve never encountered such rudeness before, and we will definitely not be returning.

Christmas in July event review: Walking into the restaurant, it was immediately clear that the main dining area—especially near the bar—was quite crowded. Unfortunately, we spent several minutes standing at the entrance without being acknowledged by any staff. It felt like we were invisible. We eventually called a friend who had arrived earlier. She had also struggled to get help and ended up locating our reserved table (which had our name on it) on her own. No assistance was provided by the staff during that process. After we seated ourselves, a staff member finally approached our table, and shortly after, our food was served. On a positive note: huge compliments to the chefs! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the pork and the pumpkin dip—those were standout dishes and truly memorable. However, service throughout the night was inconsistent. We weren’t offered water, and our attempts to get a staff member’s attention were ignored; they seemed to avoid our side of the dining room altogether. As it was a course-meal, we were also surprised that our plates weren’t changed between courses. That said, when the staff did interact with us, they were polite. Atmosphere wise, it was noisy but bearable.

Great spot for a British roast, love the big yorkie (would like it more if it was thicker as it is quite thin in pastry) the beef in the roast is great, carrots + potato’s are generously served & loved the peas and thick gravy! The double cheese burger is expensive but lord it’s delicious! It’s worth it. Great options of mocktails & beers. Such a great pub to sit outside on a nice day and people watch. The sticky date pudding is delicious also! Hits the spot

Sensational $35 "Winter Yorkie" Roast Turkey dinner served inside a giant Yorkshire Pudding (genius!) The place was pumping on a Saturday lunch owing to patrons heading to a Swan's game at the SCG. Opted to sit on the second floor dining area which was nice and quiet. Decided to order at the bar downstairs instead of table QR codes. $35 roast special can be made into a combo for +$5 with a Young Henry's Newtowner beer or a house wine - white being a pinot grigio on this particular day. Service was fairly timed given how busy they were. Staff were friendly and attentive. The meal itself was delicious, large portion size. Several slices of turkey, mash potato, peas, glazed carrots and gravy. We opted for no cranberry sauce on ours. One yorkie was a much different shape to the other but portion sizes seemed comparable. Wine menu is quite expensive with bottles starting at $60+ so if you want to get lit go to the Keg and Brew first for a $35 bottle of wine and then toddle up the hill for lunch. A large party with a reserved dining area moved in at 2pm and became very noisy so we went elsewhere for coffee. Pub is dog friendly! ♥️ Strong recommend.

The Metro Theatre is a renowned live music venue in Sydney that has hosted both local and international bands, covering a wide range of genres from rock to reggae. It has also been a platform for comedians to showcase their talent. The venue's layout includes long balconies, ensuring great views of the stage for everyone. Patrons have praised the affordable drinks and accommodating staff who even allowed outside food to be stored securely during events.
The Metro Theatre, Sydney – Where Legends (and Posters) Live On I can’t believe I hadn’t been to the Metro Theatre before. Seriously, where have I been? This place oozes cool in the way only a venue with real musical history can. You walk in and immediately feel like you’ve stumbled into the sacred halls of Aussie rock history—complete with dim lighting and sticky floors that tell you: "Yes, this is where the magic happens." The men's toilets deserve a special mention. Weird thing to rave about, right? But stick with me. They’re basically a museum of gig posters from bands that have graced the Metro stage—some legendary, some forgotten Aussie gems that will have you muttering, “Oh yeah, them!” as you, well… you know. It’s nostalgic and oddly humbling. And if the posters are any indicator, this venue has seen some epic nights. I saw the American band Lawrence, and wow, the sound was so crisp it felt like the music was slicing through the air just for me. The lighting? Top-tier. They knew exactly how to set the mood—whether it was soulful and intimate or full-blown party vibes. Whoever runs the sound and lighting desk deserves a raise and maybe a shrine in the aforementioned toilets. But what I loved most? The vibe. The Metro doesn’t try to be fancy or pretentious. It’s authentic, raw, and feels like a place made for real music lovers. It’s not just a venue; it’s an experience. One of those spots where you can imagine someone saying, “Yeah, I saw them here before they blew up.” I’ll definitely be back—whether it’s to catch another killer gig or just to bask in the nostalgia of those bathroom walls.

The Metro is a bit of an odd concert venue - probably only fits a thousand people and seems more like it should be in Newtown/Enmore for the scale. Inside are remannts of the previous cinema setup still in place, you could imagine the bar area being where you buy your popcorn, the rails on the side of the tiered seating now standing room, etc. The venue was never originally designed for these numbers so queueing up for drinks in the foyer can be disorganised. It's generally dark, lacks anything that looks modern, kinda the on par vibe for your live music venue, but given the rarity of these in the cbd it is an important one.
Paul N — Google review

> I went to The Metro Theatre for the Mehrad Hidden concert, but honestly, I didn’t enjoy the experience. The sound system wasn’t clear, the space felt overcrowded, and it was really hard to see the stage properly. Even though I love Mehrad Hidden’s music, the venue setup and overall comfort just didn’t meet expectations. I hope they can improve the sound quality and crowd management for future events — the artists and fans deserve better.

I had no idea the Sydney Recital Hall even existed—until we mistakenly parked at the Opera House for a Sydney Symphony performance and had to make a mad dash uphill to the actual venue! Thankfully, the staff at the Hall were calm, attentive, and incredibly helpful. Even though we arrived late, they guided us on when and how to enter without disrupting the performance. The venue offers drinks, ice cream, and light snacks, which added a nice touch. The seats are a little on the firm side, but the acoustics are excellent and the layout ensures a clear view from almost anywhere in the hall. A beautiful, intimate venue worth discovering—just double-check your tickets first!

The acoustics was wonderful. I took my daughter to hear Mary Beard speak. She was a wonderful historian who spoke with in depth knowledge and a touch of humour. The event itself was very well organised

Amazing Venue for Live Music Went to the City Recital Hall in Sydney to see SAFIA perform and was really impressed. The acoustics were spot on and made the whole show feel extra special. It’s in a great central location too, which made getting there super easy. Would definitely go back for another gig.

We gathered for Mozart's Clarinet performance 🎼🎷 featuring a breathtaking trio of a pianist 🎹, cheloist 🎻 and clarinettist 🎶 playing some of Mozart's best works 👑🪄✨ 🎵 The clarinettist—my word—was a revelation 😮👏. Such breath control 😮‍💨, such lyricism 🎼💫! The instrument practically wept 😢 in joy and sorrow 🕊️🎶. The venue itself, the Sydney Recital Hall 🏛️🎟️, continues to be a beacon of cultural excellence 🇦🇺🌟. Entry was seamless 🚶‍♂️🚪, The theatre’s acoustics were absolutely marvellous 🎧💯—each note rang out crystal clear 💎🎶, like silver bells on a frosty morning 🔔❄️🎼. Admittedly, the fire safety stairwell 🚨🧯 did smell a bit peculiar 🤨 something between damp carpet 🧼🧽 and burnt toast 🍞🔥 but the graffiti art 🎨🖌️, waz Koolio 😎🎉 Once inside, the hall opened up like a warm embrace 🤗✨. Plush seating 🪑, grand archways 🏰, and a soft golden glow 💡🌟 filled the room with elegance 👒🎻🕯️. Fr tho 💯 overall very nice clean hall 🧼🧹 they got some cinema price snacks 🍿🥤 and ngl tbh stmo 🤝

Amazing bar which hosts some great parties, including Bare Necessities and live jazz. Missing a crucial deep house element which can be a great addition to its legacy.

I didn't eat there and I didn't order anything. I went for a friend's birthday and it was a good space but it's a bit too busy especially if you have sensory issues. Too many rooms with too many things going on and a lot of broken things there. In the bathrooms and just everywhere. There's too many things on the walls and just looks so messy. But at least the event I went for was really good and the sound was good. I can never get over places that always have the smoking area seeping into the rest of the venue

The burgers are really good. Nice beer selection and friendly service. Very relaxed place. People often come together for music in the evening. I joined a pint of science event there and enjoyed my time in the event area on the 1st floor.

So impressed by this pub!! The burgers are 10/10 super delicious, atmosphere is great with live music on a Friday as well, and there is a great selection of local craft beers on tap. A vibe!! 🤟🤟

Giant multi level venue with much to offer. Has pool tables, karaoke, pinball machines, fancy cocktails and a pristine rooftop area to chill at. Happy hour is an absolute steal going from 7-9 most days (5 dollar house spirits). Feel like we haven’t seen those prices at those times for almost a decade. Also a large selection of craft tap beers which I will run through next time We went for Tuesday night trivia hosted by trivia mafia. The host was wonderful and gave out generous prizes. Also, there were chances to win free jugs of beers between rounds. The venue is pet friendly too, lots of cute dogs sitting around chill and all. Management have done a great job revamping this place and I can only imagine that it’ll only get better.

The experience was completely ruined by the customer service. Left and came back and got caught by the manager asking me to pay for a previous tab that she herself mistakenly didn't notice go through, with no proof by paper, no proof on my bank account, and they didn't want to hear it, they were right and I was wrong when I was just trying to understand the situation and justify the payment. Now I've got more than 100$ of payment gone through and don't know which is justified... It just fully ruined my night and the appreciation I had for this bar.

Additionally, the Factory Theatre is known for supporting emerging artists by providing them with a platform to showcase their talents.
A great venue for a show about 80s bands Sound was good, lights good, easy access and comfie seats. It was easy to see the stage and the show. Bar was pretty quick and the selection good. We are elsewhere but next time will take advantage of the on site food truck.

An absolute disgusting dive. I can’t believe how bad this place is. Visited first time tonight. No parking, no public transport access, no food available, rubbish everywhere, very limited selection of overpriced cheap drinks, dirty old chewing gum all over the floors, toilets like a construction site and the music was ridiculously loud I had to walk out as it gave me a migraine even with ear plugs!! I can’t think of how they could possibly make this dump worse.

Great venue. Great atmosphere. Parking isn't easy so if you drive, give yourself plenty of time. Llewellyn St near the park is a good option. It's about 750 metres from the venue.

I attended a rock event on Saturday night and the venue was quite literally rocking. ! I nailed a quick chicken burger and chips from the food truck then caught the lift up to the top level to watch my buddy in a rock band. 10 points that this place is wheelchair accessible which I need. Barrier free entry and ramps up the various levels In the actual theatre. To top it off the band was awesome and great acoustics in the main theatre 🎭!

Sydney used to be full of good live music venues, and I'm very glad that The Factory is alive and kicking. I have seen some great gigs here (The Violent Femmes, Calexico, The Scientists, and just this weekend Dave Graney, were all standouts). Good venue for bands that may not fill venues like The Hordern, and it has a good atmosphere. There is some terracing so that even if you're at the back you can see (it's not as ramped as The Enmore but it's smaller too so visibility hasn't been an issue for me). Access to the bar is easy during gigs, no need to miss the music. Only downside is it's a bit of a hike from Newtown station or the Sydenham Metro .

Fit out looks nice and the staff are friendly, but the food was horrific. It was the worst pasta I’ve had in a long time. The carbonara was dense and cakey and the pasta was really overcooked. I was able to pick the whole thing up like a hockey puck, and its consistency was far more similar to an omelette than a bowl of pasta.

We visited The Abercrombie as part of the Urban Wine Walk and really enjoyed it. The venue had a great atmosphere and was buzzing without feeling too busy. Tilly J Wines were the wine stand at this venue. They were our absolute favourite from the whole tour, such a standout! We ordered a mix of dishes for lunch and found the food to be just okay. That said, for a pub meal with exceptionally quick service, it was perfectly fine and the staff taking our orders were so helpful. Overall, a fun stop on the wine walk and somewhere I’d happily return to for drinks again.

I love this place! Filling the gap in the sydney nightlife scene, it has a variety of djs across different floors playing some really good music incl house, techno, disco & even some d&b. The vibe and crowd are great and the drinks are affordable. One of my fave nights out in syd

This place has been recently renovated and it's not getting the attention it deserves. Back in the day when it used to hold parties like Sash (some 15 years ago) , it was a lousy pub with limited space for growth. After a good refurbishment and striking interior design touches and a no-fear approach of winning Sydney nightlife, I feel this place needs a deserved TLC from the bored community who doesn't know what "fun" means anymore.

Excellent quality small bites and starters. The hummus with warm baked flat bread was delicious and we loved every one of the special nibbles, especially the beef skewers and prosciutto wrapped melon. Great value drinks during happy hour, a friendly welcome and altogether a very impressive venue despite the basic decor!
Mary B — Google review
Bar staff spilt a schooner glass full of vodka red bull all over me and only responded with a quick sorry almost as if he was unfazed. I asked for some sort of compensation as this completely ruined my clothes and left me drenched, just for him to look at me and ignore my request. As someone who works in the same industry, if I ever spilt a schooner glass worth of alcohol across a customer, I would be a tad more empathetic.

The Old Fitzroy Hotel is a charming 2-storey bar and theatre venue with a cozy atmosphere, featuring exposed-brick walls and comfortable sofas. The 160-year-old pub has retained its friendly interior under new ownership, while the kitchen has been revamped by an ex-Sepia chef, offering a menu filled with classy pub grub. This historic establishment prides itself on its character and history, serving as a meeting place for artists, writers, and musicians in inner Sydney.
The Old Fitz is a very memorable mother's day venue. Live jazz music (the band was amazing), excellent service and just a fantastic atmosphere overall. However beers are a overpriced as a schooner of Mountain Culture is $15.
Christopher J — Google review
Fantastic traditional atmosphere with a great selection of beers and foods. The starters were exceptional. I had the scotch egg and shared the lamb scrumpet. The theatre downstairs had a famous Harold Pinter show which some attendees suggested was very personal and well performed but did not experience myself. The atmosphere then upped a gear when a very eclectic jazz band performed a set that was extremely enjoyable. Great service and atmosphere and would highly recommend.
Alastair L — Google review
The Old Fitz has a local feel about it and the staff are friendly and helpful. We came on a Sunday for their Sunday Roast which was either Pork, Chicken or a vegetarian. The price is quite high and when we got it, it was lukewarm. We did bring this up with the staff and they gave us a round of drinks which was appreciated. We tried the scotch egg as well which was ok. They have live jazz on a Sunday which on the day we came were great musicians. There is also a theatre out the back which hold some amazing plays. I really enjoy this venue but this isn’t the first time I have been disappointed with the food.
Casandra T — Google review
According to Time Out Sydney, The Fitz comes in at #4 of the top 16 Sunday roasts in Sydney. Not sure what roasts were tried when the list was compiled, but the ones we had last Sunday were very bland. It was extremely busy at the pub and even though the place was pumping, the bar staff did an amazing job. You could see they were run off their feet, but they were always smiling and welcoming. The pub itself is really cool. Outside dining, tables in the main bar, sunny mezzanine level and a bistro upstairs. The Fitz Theatre is located here too but didn’t get to see that. The roasts…… There were six of us for lunch, two had chicken and four had pork. All the roasts came out lukewarm at best and the serving sizes were ok... although each a different size. We all agreed that for the size, temperature and flavour, the roasts were not worth the $32/$33 we paid. It was like the kitchen were just trying to pump them out to keep up with the amount of orders coming through. I’d go back to The Fitz to try their standard pub menu but not for the Sunday roast. I don’t actually think it should be on the top 16 list, let alone at #4.
David K — Google review
Popped in for lunch, as I knew of this pub, due to its history and its support for the arts. Quintessential 19 century pub. Love the photographs of the walls. The food was great. Enjoyed sitting outside. Will return
Peter L — Google review
I came by for a drink as it’s in walking distance from my hotel. It’a crowded and lively even on a rainy day. Most people were hanging out by the bar. I later found there were more seatings in the back and there’s a dining area upstairs. We didn’t order food as it’s late but I would love to try their Sunday roast one day (maybe when I return to Sydney). I liked the neighborhood bar vibe.
Bonnie Y — Google review
One of my favourite pubs in Sydney for a meal, with great vibes and atmosphere all year round. In the summer, or even a nice sunny winter’s day, there’s nothing better than getting a table outside with a jug of beer or a bottle of wine. And for those cosy wintry nights, grab a spot inside and tuck into their steak frites, one of the best in Sydney. Sunday’s are also a great time to visit, as there’s a live jazz band and their Sunday roast. But I have found their Sunday roasts a bit inconsistent, in terms of portion sizes. I’ve been with a group of friends and we’ve all ordered the roast, with some portions being super generous and others leaving a lot to be desired. Just my honest feedback, because otherwise, it’s full marks for the Old Fitz! Great selection of tap beers too, including dark ales and usually a sour, plus a great wine list. So there’s something for everyone. And the bar staff are always super lovely and obliging, even when the pub is packed to the brim. So if you haven’t visited yet, add the Old Fitz to your list!
Adrian W — Google review
Our sixth week Sunday pub roast in East Sydney and Darlinghurst experiences our less than desirable result here at the old Fitzroy Hotel. The hotel was very busy inside and out upstairs and downstairs yesterday – a younger crowd, a crowd that was hip and happening. Reminded me of being in Enmore or Newtown in the early 90s. At this hotel there was a choice of roasts: either chicken Maryland, pork with crackling or slow roasted Japanese squash. We ordered and less than four minutes later, our roasts had arrived. I can’t help but think that they may have been sitting there waiting to be served up. I thought the pork was OK and the crackling was very welcome, but the potatoes were not cooked properly. The Yorkshire pudding had no taste and rather light on with the gravy – but the carrots were excellent. This also was the first time in six weeks that I was unable to enjoy a Guinness or two with my roast. I did, however, have a very heavy stout beer and that was OK for a change, but allow me to praise the preparation of the carrots because whatever they’re doing with the carrots is great. We sat at a table inside and were surprised to see a dog on a leash, walked into the front bar and dining right beside us – it’s just a little of putting. Again, the interior of the pub reminded me of the Newtown hotel 1992 painted black and sorely needing of renovation, modernization and love. I’d say try this one for yourself for you might fall into the demographic stratum that this pub embraces. Also, there’s a Theatre space attached to this pub – that’s an important asset that they should exploit to it’s fullest effect.

Ahh the Marrickville Bowlo. You couldn't ask for a more quintessential locals local. The beers are cheap, the security lax..shoes are optional. The grub slaps ($15 Parmi on a Monday!), the staff are legends and the place is the biggest mixed bag of lollies going. From ramshackle locker-rooms covered in graffiti, to the gaudy 70s roof and the generational flotsam of bowls, brooches and bogans gone by is hard to miss! Other noteworthy features include: the only stained glass you'll ever see of a jacobian having a roll, a shrine to former Sydney major Gladys, the locals smoking corner and last but not least the omnidirectional beer holder with UV blocking screen - a piece of Australian ingenuity I've never seen elsewhere! There's daily food specials, and live music throughout the week. Come for the sunshine, stay for the view. Support your local - get a dog up ya!

First time visit to Marrickville Bowlo it has its old school charm while being a little rough around the edges. $6.50 for schooner of Bulmers Cider was excellent value. The bistro had surprisingly run out of Bangers and Mash, so we both had Chicken Schnitties with chips and salad ($22). Chicken schnitzel was delicious, large portion and perfectly cooked. Chips were a strange yellow colour probably from the oil. Salad was mixed leaf with one piece of tomato and only a small amount of vinaigrette that hadn't been fully tossed through. Mushroom gravy was nice but regular brown gravy was very watery. Food service was pretty fast. Minus a star for the nasty long black hair that was in the bottom of my iced water and the lounge chairs are incredibly dangerous. The legs are bent and not all touching the ground. My dad almost hit the deck. Lawsuit waiting to happen, pls fix!

A wonderful space for great bands! Richard Ball always makes it sound like a stadium. Just a pity it is so hard to get regular club members to pay even a small amount for tickets for the musicians. Also, could the Club PLEASE do a bit of publicity for the hard-working musicians. A couple of scribbles on the blackboard by the bar is really underwhelming.

good bar and bistro, the locals are very condescending, thinking they are better because they buy money for the meat raffles every week. And giving our tables dirty when we were winning! They care more about the meat raffle, than providing for the community and contributing to the culture. they only care about winning which brings down the vibe of the establishment.

I’ve been coming to Jolene’s for a while now and every visit is amazing. The atmosphere is always fun and welcoming, and the live country music has the perfect mix of traditional and modern with extremely talented artists. I recently brought my parents (visiting from Queensland) and they loved it just as much as I do. I think it’s such a bonus when a venue can be enjoyed by anyone, and Jolene’s really creates that kind of fantastic atmosphere. The cocktails are always delicious and the staff’s recommendations are spot on. It’s definitely one of my favourite spots in Sydney and I’ll keep recommending it to everyone.

It seems as though there were a few things that were key in the success of the night. The flow of customers and tables were monitored closely to maintain a high quality of service and business flow. People were cared for and seated as soon as possible, as the floor staff kept track of the tables. The tables were kept clean and tidy to promote a safe environment as well as welcoming new customers in to be seated. I've worked in the industry and can honestly say I've never seen this high of a standard before. My group felt safe, cared for, and respected as customers and definitely enjoyed the vibe. If I make my way back to SYDNEY, this will defbe one of my night time stops. Thank you to the management for your professionalism. 🏆 👏 🙂

Such a great venue for good music and great cocktails! Our group of four had an amazing night thanks to Lucy & crew. Daniel was polite at the door and Genes band was rocking! We wish we stayed longer but ended up coming back twice in one night. Lucille’s around the corner is also great but we were hoping for more upbeat rock music, we ended up coming on a blues night but the atmosphere is awesome. Can’t wait to come back!!

It was one of the great casual chill yet interesting nights for me and the wife for quite some time now. Congrats to the team for making that place like it is. Any person in Sydney who knows what country music is, it is the closest you can get to Nashville USA from all around the other side of the world!! Bravo Jolene's Sydney Team. I would work on the toilets cleaning more tho! Otherwise all great! Very much recommended!!

I recently stumbled across Jolene’s Bar mid week for happy hour. Simon the owner is a fantastic host and I can’t wait to come back to see some live music !

Jolene's is 1000% my absolute favourite bar in Sydney! It has an amazing atmosphere, with live bands Thursday-Saturday playing the best music from country-western to rock and roll! The staff are incredibly attentive and always happy to help you have the best experience. They have an extensive whiskey collection and a menu reminiscent of a classic Nashville bar! I would recommend the Whiskey Apple with Jack Fire to drink and the cheesy tots are the best snack going! They also have a song request list, so get your requests in early if you want to hear it while the band is having a break. I have brought several different friends to Jolene's now and they all leave with it being one of their favourites. Would also highly recommend the merch - I have one of the tshirts and the tote bag and both are great quality! 10/10

MoshPit is a vibrant and unique bar in Sydney that offers a memorable experience with its lively atmosphere, amazing live music, and welcoming staff. The venue's decor and lighting create a fantastic ambiance for both relaxed evenings and energetic nights out. It's highly recommended for those seeking good times, live music, and a friendly crowd. MoshPit also provides opportunities for open-minded individuals to connect through events like open mic nights where poetry can be shared.
If you enjoy a good dive bar, then make a big red circle around this address. They feature hearty live music and hearty patrons. A fun place to drink your way from left to right of the bar. Hood selection of drafts. And a toilet to match the theme. Food offering is limited. Service can be a bit scruffy.
Mr. F — Google review
I went to see several bands, and I think sometimes the sound is too distorted and the volume too loud, which makes it hard to appreciate the music. The place is small but has a really cool aesthetic with posters on the walls, and the people are very friendly. The prices are reasonable. I would expand the food menu and shorten the wait times because sometimes they take a long time to bring a pizza. I recommend the place for going to see bands and having a good night out.

One day we were enjoying a beer and good tunes at Moshpit and had a silly little idea to get hitched there. Turns out that idea was not silly, it was one of the best ones we've ever had! Pat and the team could not be more accommodating for us and our guests and truly went out of their way to make sure we had the most amazing night of our lives. The cocktails were fantastic, the boys tried their best to keep the VBs cold against all odds, and the pizzas fuelled our guests as they danced the night away to the band that sounded absolutely mint. The level of hospitality was off the charts and we felt like we were being looked after by family. Excellent communication during the planning process left us incredibly confident that we'd be able to bring our vision to life. We had zero stress either before or on the big day - I'll say it again - Pat, you and the team are a absolute bloody superstars and we appreciate what you did for us more than words can express. Swing by for a drink, and if you want a unique wedding experience consider supporting a local business that supports live local music and give Moshpit a go. Our guests are absolutely raving about it and we could not be happier. 12 stars out of 10.

Great venue, supporting live, original music and comedy. Friendly people and bar staff, with very interesting acts performing there. $6 beers, and $8 spirits. The best of the Sydney underground music, and stand-up comedy scene. Well worth checking out!

Not a large range of beers on tap, the IPA was good. You can order pizzas through them that come from nearby, took awhile but was very yummy. Good place to see live music.

I found this bar on google map when I was trying to find affordable cocktail bars. The vibe was really nice and the bartender was friendly. I ordered a supreme pizza and it was one of my favourite pizzas. Very yum. So much topping. I ordered $10 cocktail which had apple juice inside. Pretty good taste.

Live music venue
Liberty Hall is a new 1200-person live music venue set to open in late October. It aims to showcase local and international artists, with the added bonus of being located next to a Marys venue offering their famous burgers, fried chicken, and natural wine. Visitors have praised the comfortable and spacious environment that doesn't get too hot even during sold-out shows. The acoustics are highly regarded, and the ventilation ensures a pleasant atmosphere for concert-goers.
Sydney's best venue with an easily accessible location, terrific sound system and a beautiful interior that has a great atmosphere for live performance. It's a cross between a pub and a theatre but you will not be disappointed with the quality of this place including a great team that put effort in to provide first class service to the customers and also to the promoter. Highly recommended unlike the "100 Year Old Venues" which dominate the Sydney venue scene with their mediocre efforts.

Went to Liberty Hall for Saliah’s concert (hosted by Astral People) and had an incredible time. The venue is accessible, with friendly staff and security who were genuinely helpful throughout the night. There’s a working lift that takes you upstairs to the accessible bathroom—which is separate from the main one, giving you space and ease without the usual crowd. Everything ran smoothly, and I felt really looked after. Great vibes, great sound, and an awesome experience all around. Would absolutely come back!

First time at this venue and wasn't overly impressed. Stage height and size was good for viewing band, and sound was great. Where the venue was let down (and this may be my event only) was the long wait before getting inside, with the band starting as people were still being scanned in. Merch area was tiny and you need to be at the window to see what's available.

Pleasure Club is a late-night live-music bar in Newtown that embraces hedonism. It's the first venue in over 100 years to be granted a 4am license, making it a unique addition to Sydney's nightlife scene. With a mix of live music and various performers, every night promises a different experience. The bar offers cocktails, live music, pool tables, jukebox entertainment, and highly praised hotdogs.
Sydney doesn't deserve this bar. Been here three times now, you can't go past the exceptional service from staff - table service with complimentary snacks and water along with great bar staff serving cocktails and wine recommendations. The decor is outstanding, I can't take my eyes off the gorgeous carpet print. Love snagging a booth with the luscious fabric and cozy layout. Bathrooms are clean, well-sized and blissfully gender neutral (no lines ladies!!). Had a hot dog one time, great simple quick eat while we were snacking between meals. Top quality dog too. The vibes overall are great. This is a great bar to come for chats, for longer hangs and the table service means you can just enjoy yourself and your surroundings. I can see lots of comments around entry refusal, lol, but coming here after work clock-off have never had an issue with capacity and entry. May this bar remain open for the foreseeable future, you're too good to be true 😍

The Pleasure Club is an absolute standout in the vibrant Enmore scene. From the moment you walk through the doors, you're met with an atmosphere that's equal parts electric and welcoming. The music curation is top-tier—thoughtfully selected to energise the crowd while keeping things fresh and dynamic. The lighting, sound, and intimate layout create a space that feels both immersive and relaxed, perfect for a night out with friends or a spontaneous solo adventure. What really sets The Pleasure Club apart, though, is the people—both the staff and the crowd. There's a sense of community and genuine good vibes that make every visit feel like a celebration. Whether you’re there for the music, the dancing, or just to soak in the atmosphere, it never disappoints. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience one of Enmore’s best nightlife offerings.

Had the Pleasure of visiting this intimate venue recently and what a wonderful find. The cocktails and food were delicious and beyond our expectations the service was fantastic, welcoming such a great atmosphere and aesthetic. We visit many venues and this place Is definitely going to be a regular of ours. Brilliant night out. Highly recommend.

It was such a good vibe until my friend came into the bathroom with me. Mind you there is only two bathrooms. We went in for not even two minutes and the security guard kicked us out. We aren’t drunk or doing anything wrong. Just a psa because we didn’t know that it was against the clubs policy.
Indy D — Google review
This place was so close to perfect - atmosphere was fire, live music was fire, aircon, not too loud - but the drinks were abysmal, like Titanic crashing abysmal. Such a shame because people are nice, good service, but the drinks taste like cough syrup and corn syrup. Soz guys, great but the drinks were shocking...

This isn’t just a club- it’s a community, a vibe, and a love letter to good music, great people, and unforgettable nights. Every time I step through the door, I’m welcomed with the kind of warmth and authenticity you rarely find. The atmosphere is electric but never pretentious, the music is always on point, and the space itself is intimate and perfectly curated for connection AND ripping up the dancefloor. The people behind Pleasure Club have poured so much heart and soul into creating something truly special, and you feel it in every detail- from the welcoming staff to the perfectly curated playlists, to supporting local creative projects like bands and performers. It’s the kind of place where memories are made and new friendships are born. Whether you’re there for a dance, a chat, or to escape into a secret wonderland right in the heart of the inner west, Pleasure Club Newtown delivers the goods 👏🏻 every 👏🏻single 👏🏻 time.

After Frankies closed I was missing having my go to late night spot that never disappoints, well now I have found it in Pleasure Club! There have been a few times I'm not quite ready to go home, I stop in for one drink and always run into friends or someone I know and end up staying a few hours or late until the morning. The staff are great, attentive, friendly and handle the crowd well. I have seen some great shows here, Jazz, 50s rockabilly, and many DJs. If you are looking for a fun night out come here! I usually don't come here till after 10pm
Mariel C — Google review
Not Worth the Hype The vibe at Pleasure Club was underwhelming. There wasn’t much in terms of décor or atmosphere—no interesting lighting, no sense of history or character. The live music was just okay, nothing memorable. The drinks were the biggest letdown: $26 for a margarita served in a small glass—not the usual size. It tasted good, but definitely not worth the price. $15 for a hazy IPA didn’t help either. Pretty steep prices for a pretty average experience. Wouldn’t rush back.

Tiva is a chic lounge bar located beneath The Charles Grand Brasserie & Bar in King Street, Sydney. It offers live music four days a week, featuring jazz, soul, R&B, and folk performances. The ambiance is stylish and inviting with warm hospitality from the staff. The menu includes French-inspired eats such as wagyu flank and duck pancake, along with impressive cocktails. Happy hour runs from 5-7pm with drink specials like Tommy Margarita and Moet Chandon.
Amazing service and customer care. We were served by Carolina who recognised we had been waiting for our main meals a little too long. She very quickly fixed the situation and made sure we were looked after with our mains coming out soon after. If you go make sure to ask to be looked after Carolina. Great live music and atmosphere. Will come back for sure.

I agree with all past reviews that the ambience of this place is as chill as it can be, with right temperature, music, light and seating. When it comes to food however, it was very oily and lacked flavours (even though its Asian themed). Interestingly we liked the Rump Steak the best. Service felt a little more reactive than proactive, but not a deal breaker as I dont like over-attentive service either.

Ambience says all. You walk into low mood, decadent room. Elegant lounge vibe and a steady beat of soft, funky low fi music and the subtle perfume permeating the room. Every decision from food to the atmosphere is intentional. The walls are lined with blackcorigated iron that somehow adds to the soft and welcoming tone. Twilight hour - 5pm-8pm Wed-Fri, grants a fabulous happy hour. I had the Tiva Burger that came with a side of prawn Crackers (yum) and Tommy's margarita for $25. So delicious through and through. The cocktail menu is delicious (pandan effect is a must), in addition to a great variety of shared Asian inspired bites. Service is prompt and attentive to ensure you are having an enjoyable time. I am in love with what they have to offer here and will be on my list for the next date night or catch up with the girls.

A chic bar located behind LV store in King Street. The service was awesome even just two floor staffs around at that time. We never short of good service. Food was delicious, range from 7-10 out of 10. We loved the wagyu flank MB9+, it was cooked perfectly with wasabi sauce. The duck pancake was lovely too. 5-7pm is the happy hour. Only 2 selection of drink, either Tommy Margarita $12 or Moet Chandon $xx glass or $105/bottle. I’d recommend the Tommy margarita over the wasabi margarita ($26). Overall, it was a great time there. Not overly loud, the live music was awesome. The singer has a great voice, I initially thinking it was a record music. Note, there’s a 10% service charge of your total bill. We think, they deserved that charge.

Cocktails are really really good.. but food was disappointing tbh. Wait so long for the food, the chicken burger came out like a slider size. The rice was crazy expensive $8. Pretty much just rice and furikake on top My recommendation, just go for the cocktails not the food
TC — Google review
The atmosphere is great, live music is nice (smooth jazz), bit hard to find but if you find a door (1st picture) just go down to the basement. Drinks around 17-25$. Your choice to enjoy the music+drinks, or have a chat+dinner far from the band.

Thursdays just got hotter with the newest event Mixer Thursdays at Tiva Lounge starting from 7pm. Take a few steps down to experience a flow of champagne, cocktails that rock and music to have you dancing while you enjoy the ambience of TIVA. A place that ticks all the boxes from sip, taste, and sound. A sexy atmosphere for date nights, group functions with private areas, or just a quick catchup. It was hard to believe that I was being served these amazing dishes at a bar, but later found out the food was coming from the kitchen of The Charles. The highlight for me was the Kingfish as well as the Chicken Burger with Caviar dressing. My chosen cocktails, Yuzu Mango Martini and Dragonfruit Sour, were both dangerously good, but the Dragonfruit was a winner for me and are available in all Etymon venues: @thecharles.sydney @loulou.sydney @poetica.sydney @tivalounge.sydney The company may have also made the night that extra special thanks to @lukelavidis @minaibs @joshshehata @godlystrong and @lukejackson so choose your tribe wisely. Get ready to be rocked by CALLYY, with support from Gigi Rose, Chris Stevo, and Two Cents Short, bringing all the house vibes. Reserve your table for dinner and cocktails today, and thank me later for an incredible night.

Hustle & Flow Bar is a small, funky bar located in Redfern that offers a welcoming vibe and great music, particularly for hip-hop fans. The bar features graffitied walls, comfy black sofas, and a range of cocktails and craft beers. While it used to serve burgers by Cafe Ish, it no longer offers food but allows patrons to bring in outside food. The venue hosts live DJ music with requests welcome and has been described as Sydney's No.1 Hip Hop bar.
Visited this place on a Wednesday night. It was empty BUT the bartender was frickin awesome !! Served my friend and I our cocktails with a smile on his face. It's a mediocre place with sour cocktails. DJ is good, but playing old-school RnB is boring if you want to dance. The bar is too small to dance. And I didn't understand the reason for the entrance ticket since there was nothing special inside

Music was phenomenal. We arrived early so it wasn’t too busy, but a live DJ showed up and the place got very busy. Great drinks, the bar staff were friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend for some good OG hip hop, R&B, and pop hits. They do not serve food anymore which was a bummer, but they allowed us to bring outside food into the bar.

This nice cozy bar near to Redfern station has such a nice vibe. It is Sydney's one of the hip hop vibe bar, with great ambience, good collection of drinks along with surprisingly good burgers and chips. We usually go there after work to wind down and it kind of became my go-to bar in Sydney. They also have live music on Thursdays and DJ on Fridays. I had the best time catering for / attending an event hosted by my friends at the Gaelic Club. The club staff on the night (shoutout to Lorraine and the bar staff!) were so professional, friendly and thoughtful - bringing pitchers of water to our catering team, chatting with guests, quickly working through the lines at the bar with attentive and enthusiastic service. As you descend the steps to Frankies Pizza, you're immediately enveloped in a classic New York pizzeria vibe, complete with an old wooden bar and charming red and white checkerboard tiles. But don’t be fooled by its unassuming exterior; behind the scenes lies one of Sydney's premier live music venues. With nightly performances featuring rock, metal, punk, and alternative genres, Frankies is a haven for music lovers seeking an authentic experience without any pretentiousness.
Frankie's Pizza is not only a delicious and authentic Italian pizza venue, but it’s also an experience! I love their nostalgic retro vibes and arcade games. After having the best fun playing pinball at Frankie’s Pizzas I think every takeaway venue should have a pinball machine to play while you wait! The pizzas are absolutely amazing too. This is a big call but in my opinion Frankie's Pizza dough is the best I’ve ever had. My favourites are the: 🍕 BBQ Chicken pizza 🍕 Meatlovers pizza and 🍕 Seafood pizza. Make sure to also try their Italian Tartufi Gelato desserts. I highly recommend the Tartufi Gelato Bianco with its sour cherry sauce centre and the Tartufi Gelato Limone with its Italian lemon custard. I highly recommend Frankie's Pizzas and will be back on a regular basis.

Decided to try a different pizza place around the area, but am regretting the decision afterwards. We ordered a seafood and chicken Hawaiian. The crust was great and base thin and crispy. However, there was a distinct lack of toppings. The seafood may as well just have been a plain tomato base -photo below after opening the box! The chicken was slightly more generous and tasted fine.

The pizzas here are really yummy, with a soft dough that's for me the best part of it all. Generous topping, traditional flavours for an authentic pizza experience ! I particularly like their diavola with spicy salami. Marco is a super chilled and friendly owner, really recommended!

Just delicious. Owned and operated by a lovely Italian family. The menu has all the classic pizzas and some more unique options that tasted amazing. We had the Gambertti, BBQ Chicken, and the Mortadella. The quality of ingredients was top notch, the service was quick and even though it’s a takeaway joint we decided to eat in (there’s a few tables inside and some cool arcade games). Loved it. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

The State Theatre, located in Sydney's CBD, is a stunning establishment that hosts live music, film screenings, and comedy shows. The building boasts ornate Gothic, Italian, and art deco architecture and was originally opened in 1929 as a 'Fantasy Palace for the People.' With its opulent design featuring vaulted ceilings, mosaic floors, marble columns and statues, brass and bronze doors, it offers a unique experience for visitors.
This is an icon, historic gem of a theater set in the middle of the city. This gothic revival theatre is beautiful and brings to mind the golden age of picture palaces. There are terrazzo floors, themed bathrooms, works of are and statuary around the venue and chandeliers inside. There are three levels and all are services by bars and bathrooms. The seats are comfortable and the stage clearly visible from all areas. We saw Dr Nina Simone the daughter of the legendary singer and it was terrific. A brilliant place offering a huge variety of performances.

This is a gorgeous theatre. Yes, the stage is small and it’s obvious this factor hampers the dancers, but from an audience perspective it is one of my favourites. We were in the stalls. The view was great. The seats large and comfortable with plenty of leg space (complete opposite of the Lyric) and the entire space was a delight to look at. Love it.

Beautiful energy My husband and I went to see the Commodores at the Sydney State Theatre and had the best time. The line up of songs did not disappoint and the energy and good humour was constant throughout the show. William King (original member), Brent Carter and Cody and Colin Orange with their back up musicians were so together. Cody and Colin brought the joy, talent and warmth of Walter Clyde Orange and so much more! God bless the Commodores past and awesome present members, especially Cody and Colin so nice and friendly chatting and taking selfies after the show. So looking forward to seeing more of them:) The State Theatre was a good size, had great seats and wide aisles. Some might say dated but I say nostalgic and the ushers were accommodating and smiling … I mean they look happy!

Stepping inside this theatre feels like walking into a jewel box. The foyer glows with warm light, marble, and ornate ceilings that make you slow down before you even find your seat. Ushers are on to it from the moment you arrive, quick with directions and happy to let you take a minute to admire the chandeliers and the grand staircase. I turned up a bit early and was glad I did. You can soak in the detail, grab a drink without a scramble, and settle before the crowd hits its pre show rush. Inside the auditorium the mood lifts again. The ceiling is a show on its own, the curtain rises cleanly, and the whole room feels intimate even though it is large. Sound is clear and full, the kind that wraps around you without getting harsh. Sightlines are better than I expected. From the stalls you feel close to the stage, and from the dress circle you get a lovely sweep of the set with only the very front rows at risk of a rail in the frame. Seating is comfortable, legroom varies a little by row, and the temperature sat in that sweet spot where you forget about it five minutes in. Service is smooth at interval. Bars move at a decent clip, staff keep lines tidy, and pre ordering a drink means you can skip the shuffle. Bathrooms are well kept and clearly signed so you are not clock watching instead of enjoying the show. A few tips. Arrive early to explore, bring a small bag to glide through security, and aim for an aisle seat if you like a touch more space. Walking out afterward, the city feels louder and brighter, which is how you know you have been somewhere special.

Beautiful theatre! There were toilets, drinks and snacks booths of each floor. The mezzanine seating is ground level, which is easy to access by the street. After the show many taxis and Ubers come through for easy collection if you’re heading elsewhere or home.

Wonderful experience seeing Cliff Richard's 'You can't stop me now.' As a 85 year old gentleman ,he was fantastic, energetic and still has the best voice ever. Most beautiful State Theatre, in Sydney.

Went there for Air Supply concert. Beautiful theatre at a convenient location. Suggest avoid the front row corner seats though if you don’t want to be blasted by the huge speakers on the stage.

So first let me say tge way to do this is catch the train to Town Hall and walk up, enjoy a Happy Hour drink next door with a snack which are both extraordinary then head in for your show. Personally I didn’t know what to expect. Stairs not a lift was a bit of an issue for me anx thd cues for the loos were so ling they opened up the mens room. But the theatre itself and seating were really lovely. Honestly though they sounded like they had turned the mics up to full pitch at somd points it sounded like they were screaming not singing. I enjoyed it and laughed along but for $85 not sure I would rush back or maybe that’s just my aching Menopause joints 😂😂😂
