Japanese restaurant
Breakfast restaurant
Authentic Japanese restaurant
Koya Soho is a cozy Japanese restaurant in London, known for its simple cafe-style setting and delicious udon noodles. The flagship Soho location offers an intimate dining experience with communal tables where patrons can savor the signature handmade udon noodles, which are fresh and perfectly springy. The menu features options like cold udon and hot udon with dashi broth, accompanied by choices such as mixed seaweeds, pork and miso, or duck and vegetable hotpot.
I think there was only counter seating inside and two tables outside. I was trying to rest my tired stomach after a recent disordered diet (pre-trip binge eating) and needed some real Japanese food, so I think I was right to come here. I ordered mini udon soup. The soup was light in color and flavorful. It was very tasty and warmed my body and soul.
Macaron — Google review
Koya is a small Japanese spot tucked away in the heart of Soho, offering chef/ kitchen counter seating for around 20 people. The atmosphere is casual, and they open early, though the menu before 12pm is quite limited—mainly breakfast items and a small selection of udon dishes.Three chefs were working behind the counter during my visit. I ordered the curry udon with grilled vegetables. Unfortunately, the dish was underwhelming. The vegetables—okra, fennel, aubergine, spring onion shoots—were fibrous, sparse, and didn’t add much to the plate. The curry sauce was overly thick and starchy, lacking balance. The portion of noodles was Over-generous almost turning it into a dish filler, but it felt mismatched with the meagre amount of vegetables. Service left a lot to be desired. Food was handed over the counter without much interaction, and one of the waiters repeatedly brushed against me without a single apology. I eventually had to ask for the service charge to be removed. Overall, it was a disappointing visit. The food was below average, and its was overpriced and poor value. The lack of basic ingredients—especially vegetables, which are inexpensive—felt careless. I won’t be returning or recommending Koya.
Travelling D — Google review
Very popular. Some of the udon noodles were a little bland, but I think that’s authentic. Belly pork was fantastic. Service was excellent. Worth another try n
David H — Google review
One of my favourite restaurants in London. Highly recommended! My favourite is pork noodles, pork belly, mushrooms, seaweed plum wine and prawn tempura
Julia C — Google review
A lovely Japanese spot in the heart of Soho. The food was fantastic! Especially the grilled fish, which is well worth trying. Everything tasted fresh and properly prepared. Service was a bit on the slow side, and we had to wait a while for the bill, even though it wasn’t too busy. Still, it’s fairly priced for the area and a great alternative for breakfast or a light meal.
Maria F — Google review
Great spot for lunch. Loved the authentic counter seating, not the best for a dinner date but superb for a solo lunch hideaway. The beef don was really nice but I’m used to having more sauce as I had in Japan, but this isn’t Japan so it’s unfair to compare. It’s still good though. Overall, great location for a lunch spot.
Kay T — Google review
I came specifically to Koya for their prawn tempura udon which was shown on the lunch menu. I arrived slightly before 12pm which was still their breakfast menu time. I didn’t argue — I even ordered a breakfast soup noodle first and waited until 12pm so I could order the prawn tempura. At 12pm when I asked to order it, the staff told me I’m not allowed to order prawn tempura as a topping, and instead I must order a whole full portion. I asked politely if I could at least take away the extra if I can’t finish it (since they were forcing me to order an entire separate dish). The lady then told me they do not provide any takeaway containers at all. The entire interaction made me feel extremely unwelcome, rigidly policed, and honestly punished for trying to order what’s actually on their menu. Totally ruined my experience. Bad service attitude + absolutely inflexible. I left feeling mad and disappointed. Definitely not coming back.
KarThong S — Google review
Went and had nice udon. Food was amazing. Authentic food and vibes. Although the service was a bit mixed experience. After we paid, they hold us off. We waited at the entrance for few minutes, wondering what went wrong. They said we paid the correct amount but the waiter put it to the wrong table. So not our fault and we paid extra for some reasons (should be £72 but was asked £74). The one who paid extra was offered tea, but we were in a hurry so we declined. Thus low service rating. Maybe just one off.

Restaurant
Randall & Aubin is a seafood restaurant located in Soho that offers a modern British menu in a unique setting. Housed in a former butcher's shop, the restaurant has retained some of its original features while adding modern touches such as marble tables and artful black-and-white photos. The menu features a wide range of dishes, from classic seafood options like moules mariniere and prawn cocktail to trendy choices like lobster po boys.
One word to describe this restaurant is CONSISTENCY! The food is unpretentious, the freshest seafood in town, chef pays attention to details with interesting accompaniment on every plate! Superb! Well executed and cooked to perfection in all elements. Great price point for the skill, freshness, and portion. The service staff is fantastic, knows the food well with great enthusiasm, well-trained and polite! We love the vibe of the place, smart and casual. Will return for more and highly recommend it to all seafood lovers! Fantastic personable restaurant! Best showcase for British seafood and great cooking style! Great job to Chef Ed Baines and his team!
May B — Google review
The food was really delicious, especially the seafood definitely worth trying if you’re a fan. The atmosphere was a bit noisy and crowded, so it’s not the best place to sit and chat for a long time. I recommend going for the appetizers instead of the main courses, as they were all very tasty. The manager who first served us was quite unfriendly and could have been more welcoming, but luckily the waitress who later looked after us was very sweet and helpful.
Buse D — Google review
Amazing from arriving to leaving. The welcome was friendly, efficient and warm. We had a wonderful cosy spot which suited our romantic meal for 2. Our waiter was charming, fun, well mannered and really engaging. The food was just delicious all of it! The atmosphere was buzzy, soft lights, trendy music, fun, intense and romantic. It felt like we were in Paris before our time. Art Deco.. this is it! I cannot wait to go back.
Kristina A — Google review
Randall & Aubin in Soho is a seafood lover’s dream—elegant, energetic, and consistently exceptional. The daily specials are a standout, showcasing the freshest catches with flair. Tucked away on Brewer Street in the heart of Soho, Randall & Aubin is a vibrant Anglo-French brasserie that’s been delighting diners since 1996. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere is electric—think disco ball sparkle meets old-school charm, with marble counters, white tiles, and a buzz that feels both glamorous and welcoming. What truly sets this place apart is the seafood. The menu is a celebration of the ocean’s bounty, with oysters, lobster, and moules marinière all prepared with precision and passion. But it’s the daily specials that steal the show—crafted from the freshest market finds, they’re inventive, seasonal, and always superb. Whether it’s a delicate Dover sole or a rich seafood stew, each dish feels like a chef’s love letter to the sea. The service is warm and attentive without being overbearing, and the wine list is thoughtfully curated to complement the menu, with plenty of crisp whites and celebratory bubbles. It’s no wonder this spot has become a favorite for locals, theatre-goers, and anyone seeking a memorable meal in Soho Muddy Sti... +2. If you’re after a fish restaurant that delivers both quality and character, Randall & Aubin is a must-visit. It’s not just a meal—it’s an experience.
Matthew E — Google review
A small restaurant with a great decor and a fabulous atmosphere. Popular, we’d booked for 7pm and it was full. Menu is varied and there are daily specials. A good wine list too. Staff are friendly and helpful and service was quick without being hurried. Our meal was excellent Definitely recommended!
Steven R — Google review
We love coming here each time we are in London. It feels like coming home thanks to especially Zouzou’s (sorry if misspelled) outstanding customer service. The food is amazing and the cocktails to die for. The ambience is unbeatably the coolest and with groovy music - but a a level where you can still speak to each other. This restaurant never disappoints. We have been here with business partners, friends and now our girls - a new generation has been introduced to Randall and Aubin. Thank you we will be back :-)
Valerie S — Google review
The oysters and scallops were great. The French onion soup was very sour and fries were too salted in my opinion. Our waitress were great but the manager(?) was curt.
Kylie — Google review
Haven't been to such a lovely place in a while. The cuisine was exquisite, delicious combinations of tastes and textures, well thought of and beautifully served. Great wine selection, very attentive and pleasant service, and a lovely internal design of the establishment. Prices are on the higher side. However, super worth it, in my opinion. Very recommended!!

Mon Plaisir is a bustling bistro with over 50 years of history, offering classic French dishes such as escargots, onion soup, and tartiflette. The restaurant features four unique dining rooms, each with its own distinct ambiance. The Front room boasts authentic 1940s decor and is the original dining space at Mon Plaisir.
Absolutely fantastic! I’d always wanted to visit this cozy French spot in Covent Garden and it truly exceeded my expectations. The slow-cooked beef cheek was one of the best I’ve ever had melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The waiter was so friendly and gave great recommendations for both food and drinks, which made the experience even more special. The decoration made me feel like I was in France, adding to the charm. Such a lovely evening overall, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. Can’t wait to go back!
Sasha W — Google review
Fantastic evening and great service from all staff. The food tasted exceptional and definitely worth the visit. Mussels to share along with a prawn cocktail. The bread and French butter to soak up the sauce. The butter was 10/10! As was all foods. Atmosphere was lovely, staff were attentive, decoration on point. Great wine choice. I was enjoying myself soo much i forgot to take pics of the mains.

Authentic French dishes, fresh ingredients and tasty flavours. Very good ambience and easy to have conversations over meals. Would come back.
Harbour S — Google review
Although the food was good, we received such a poor welcome and service.. This French restaurant had a fantastic reputation back in the days and we were excited to have a nice quick meal while shopping in the area. Prices are mad...over £100 for 2 (one main course each and a glass of wine!!), service was so poor to a point the manager in charge did not speak to us once...until she took our payment..."have a great day" !! The waitress seemed to be the only one really working that day. The food was good, tasty and well presented...but not exceptional. There were spelling.mistakes in the menu. This was a disappointment....
Bertrand L — Google review
We booked on first table so had 50% off. The French onion soup was nothing short of sensational and I would come back for that alone. The duck breast was also delicious but it came with vegetables that were almost raw and too far from Al dente. It’s also very expensive. £4.50 for a small bottle of Coke Zero is insane. Staff were lovely though and a cosy atmosphere.
Jessica C — Google review
December 2024 I had been here several times in the past and came back after many years and the food was still pretty good. However the portions appeared to have shrunk which was a shame. The beef tartare was good although it was a little too creamy for me. The duck main course was fairly nice and the crème brûlée was your standard crème brûlée. The only real issue was that I couldn’t believe how small my spinach side dish was considering I paid atleast £5 for it. There was probably no more than 3 mouthfuls in the bowl.
Simon N — Google review
Food was tasty enough but nothing 'special' or standout. E.g. very simple flavours. However considering the reviews and the prices I would have expected much more... If it had not been for the first table discount I would have been very disappointed. Initially a nice upmarket atmosphere until the room filled, then tables were extremely cramped and hard to get out/could hear every conversation around you. The waiter was pleasant however there was a huge wait between starters and main that put us off trying a pudding.
Nicola P — Google review
Natalia served my family, and she was absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food was delicious. She took the time to ask about our allergies, which made us feel very comfortable and cared for. It was a great experience. Perfect for enjoying a meal with family or friends. Thank you for such a lovely time.

Pho is a popular chain of modern Vietnamese restaurants with multiple locations across the capital and beyond. The restaurant offers a casual atmosphere, open kitchen where you can watch the broth being made, and efficient service. Started by an English couple who were inspired by their travels in Asia, Pho aims to recreate the street food culinary experiences in London. The menu features Vietnamese noodle soup and other street-food dishes, with a wide selection of ingredients for customers to choose from.
Fabulous food… fresh, tasty, colourful and delicious. We shared several starters to sample several dishes… portions were more than adequate and good value for money. We were well looked after by Ivander… really nice guy too. Absolutely would recommend this place. Photos not great… couldn’t wait to tuck in… I’m not a photographer! 😊

I decided to give this place a try based on Google reviews, and I’m so glad I did. I absolutely loved the food, drinks, and atmosphere. I started with the veggie crispy spring rolls, which were perfectly crunchy and delicious. For the main course, I had the wok-fried noodles with chicken, along with a Phojito to drink—both were fantastic. The staff was very nice and friendly. I totally recommend this place!

My wife and I went to Pho Soho tonight. It was a great experience. The staff were all very nice. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was laid back. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everyone was very welcoming. Highly recommended.

If you want to eat pho in London, this branch is recommended. I ate pho 6 times in this London trip. This shop is the best. The air conditioning is cool in the summer. The herbal apple lime ginger juice is very delicious. Also, the Saigon Cider apple & ginger is really delicious.

Gluten-free and absolutely delicious food! No matter which city I’m in, this is my one and only favourite restaurant. We chose to celebrate our wedding anniversary here because it’s the only place I trust for gluten-free meals. Many thanks to the wonderful staff for making it special.
Ilksen C — Google review
My first time trying Pho In Soho London and I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised!!! Their meat combo pho was 10/10 for me with the meatball and the beef brisket as usual with the addition of extra fish and sriracha sauce!!! But for me the star of the show was the starter, betel beef! I have to say it’s one of the best thing I have tried so far in Pho so so so good! Only downside in the restaurant seating itself, all the tables are way too close to each other. All in all, I can’t wait to come back again!
Bleubirdy99 — Google review
Dine solo here and great vibe inside. The classic chicken pho was rich in flavor and satisfying. One Perfect meal for this season. The service is excellent! Highly Recommended !!
Zxen C — Google review
The pho was quite good, but the overall experience was very disappointing. The Black male staff member showed a clear difference in attitude: towards Asian customers like us, he was cold and impatient — even insisted that I read out the full dish name when ordering. Yet with European customers, he was all smiles, very friendly, and happily chatting. When clearing our table, he even made sounds of annoyance, which felt extremely disrespectful. No matter how good the food is, this kind of discriminatory behavior makes me not want to come back.

Nice soup shop and they had hungarian goulash 😋 the seeded bread was lovely. The staff was nice. Delicious lunch for sure

Jerk chicken soup was gooood. (although the term jerk is applied liberally) Also tired the fish which was tasty, but the chicken was spicy so went for that. Not many people in so lacking in atmosphere a bit, but if you need a quiet place to sit/work cos the hipster coffee shops above ground are too noisy and then this is it. My server was very lovely too.

Good cafe. Comfortable setting with a number of coffee, snacks and soups on offer. I tried there jerk chick soup which was okay. Friendly staff with plenty if knowledge, perfect spot for a meeting near to the old street station.

Good soup and nice staff. The coffee is okay (but that's good for central London). There is a variety of soup types and a few treats as well. Gluten Free options are available. All in all, not a bad place for a quick bite.
Matt C — Google review
Was a cold and windy day, and was longing for something warm for lunch. What better than a nice boil of soup. Found this place online to great reviews. I picked the morrocon lamb and sweet potato coconut chicken (both small because wanted to try 2 separate ones) along with a carrot and seeded bread. The lamb soup was alright (maybe the chickpeas was over-powering for me), and I should have guessed that's how the soup would be. The chicken soup was great, with the right amount of sweetness of the potatoes... The best thing of my meal was the bread, I like nothing better than warm, soft fresh from the oven breads. I was pushing to give it a perfect 5 stars, but will wait before I try a few more times - yes, definitely going back...
Akash K — Google review
I walked past this place for years before going in. I missed out, it's great. Excellent coffee, really good soups, extensive vegan offering, friendly chilled atmosphere. Also, they play fabulous music on a great sound system - not too loud, and it always adds to my enjoyment.
Nerissa P — Google review
Have you tried the chicken coconut and cranberry soup? I know it sounds strange and terrifying, but I promise it tastes really good. They have a big diversity of freshly made soups and different kinds basically every day. My girlfriend says a small one is perfectly enough to fill her, but honestly, I need at least one big sized. The place itself is not the biggest luxury, but it's nice and the service is always top-notch. Switch your daily lunch coffee with a soup here. It will please you more than caffeine.

Delicious food with many French classics in this warm and welcoming Brasserie close to the Opera House. We were on the dinner break for a long opera, and the service was quick and efficient, as we requested. It’s a very touristy area but this place was fresh and timeless.

Food and service were perfect! The waiters are lovely and we really enjoyed the food we ordered. We had a really good time as we came for my sister’s birthday. They even gave her a card signed by the staff! However, we were very disappointed and offended when we went downstairs to the toilets to see an offensive poster blatantly hanging on the wall. We were very confused and it obviously put a damper on the day.

The quintessential, classic French Brasserie! From start to finish, Palm Court delivered. The martinis were perfectly made, the liver parfait was light and flavorful and the main dishes were all beautifully prepared. Call-out to the Cornfed tarragon Chicken! It was brilliant! Juicy, tender and packed with flavor! I recommend Palm Court for dinner and for their pre-theatre menu, as well.

What a wonderful gem in the heart of Covent Garden. We came for their steak frites offer on Tuesdays and it didn’t disappoint! The ambiance is lovely for any occasion and the service was very friendly. I would love to come back soon!

More amazing meals in and around London. Came in on October 6th around 5 pm for a very late / early lunch, just before our show of The Devil Wears Prada later in the evening. I ordered the Onion Soup as a starter and then one of the specials - veal, crushed potatoes and Swiss shards or something (sorry but forgot to jot down the name). The texture of the veal, the sauce, alongside the potatoes was great, really smooth and a perfect blending of flavour. To cap it off, I ordered the crème brûlée, which was also great, really smooth and a great to finish off a stronger main dish. You can’t go wrong with this place, and well, the location is also amazing, right off Covent Garden. The servers were also great, showing great knowledge of the menu and also providing great suggestions in terms of what to order.

I love this restaurant. Over the years it has been entirely consistent, never a bad meal or experience. Food and wines are simply delicious. All sorts of tempting options and a solid set menu as well as ala carte. The menu is balanced and varied in terms of choice and prices. So always something to suit everyone. The place has a great buzz. The staff are the highlight for me. It says a lot that so many of them have been there for years. There are so lovely, helpful, friendly and super hard working. It’s always so busy here and they all run around to attend to diners quickly. They notice instantly if someone needs anything. Not something I experience in other restaurants any more sadly. They always make you feel so special. This is a special place, run by very special people, serving totally yummy food and drink. Thank you all, and a particular shout out to Enza, Victoria, Davide, Stefano, Mateja and Angel.

If we could give Palm Court in Covent Garden ten stars we honestly would. We came to celebrate my sister’s birthday and it was such a beautiful experience from start to finish. Our servers David and Maria were absolutely incredible, so kind, polite, attentive and genuinely made the whole night feel special. We were a big group and they catered to us perfectly. They even surprised us with two cakes, one from the restaurant itself, which made the birthday feel extra magical. The food was out of this world. Every single dish was delicious and that’s saying something because we’re a bunch of picky eaters. The presentation, the flavour, everything was just flawless. The restaurant itself is spotless, elegant, classy and the interior is stunning. The whole ambience felt warm, welcoming and celebratory. Honestly we couldn’t have asked for a better evening. Massive thank you to David, Maria and the entire Palm Court team for making my sister’s birthday so special. We’ll 100 percent be back, this place is a gem. 💫

Mildreds Soho is a well-established vegetarian restaurant in London, having been at the forefront of the vegetarian and vegan food movement since 1988. With five locations across the city and a sister restaurant near Borough Market, Mildreds offers an international-themed menu that features organic, seasonal produce and an extensive wine selection.
Third time coming here and it never disappoints My girlfriend is vegetarian and I am not but the menu satisfies us both every time with a huge choice of perfectly cooked food. The staff are incredibly attentive and the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming with an upbeat relaxing vibe

I visited Mildreds Soho on a Friday evening – the place was quite busy, but the staff were very attentive and friendly throughout. The restaurant is spread across three floors, with each level split into smaller dining rooms of just a few tables, which gives it a cozy and intimate feel. The food was tasty and well-prepared, though I found the portions a bit on the small side for the price. It’s a nice spot to hang out with friends and enjoy a relaxed meal, but I wouldn’t say it’s the top vegan food I’ve had in London. Still, worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for a chill vegan-friendly place.

We had a truly wonderful experience at Mildreds Soho for my father's 75th birthday dinner. From the moment we arrived, everything was handled with care and warmth. The table was thoughtfully chosen, the food was excellent, and the service throughout was outstanding. A special mention to Laura, who managed the second floor with calm professionalism and genuine kindness. Her attentiveness made a real difference to our evening. We were also touched by the thoughtful gestures that made my parents feel celebrated it added a lovely personal touch to the occasion. Overall, the team created a memorable experience for us, and I’m very grateful for the effort and hospitality shown

An amazing plant- based restaurant in the heart of SoHo. Super friendly service and plenty of seating over three floors. The tasting menu serves up a vast selection of dishes all with unique flavours. You will definitely not go away hungry.

Since 1988 Mildred’s have been a stalwart of the London plant based dining scene. What a fabulous funky looking interior with food to match. The historic town house has been adorned with an eclectic array art work, hanging plants and dining areas spread over 3 levels. We must make a special mention to the exemplary front of house team. Some of the best warm hearted, genuine staff we’ve encountered… and I’ve reviewed around 100 restaurants around the world! The menu is as varied as the decor. Hearty pies to clean kale salads and warming fragrant curries. Mildred’s is the place to go if you want a good restaurant meal out with friends, especially if some of your group are flexitarian as they will be pleased with the offering.

The team are always so lovely, considerate and accommodating, on this particular occasion my two friends and I had a great time catching up and sharing 'one of everything' from the starters menu before going to see a show. Super easy to book also! I have felt like Mildred's is one to save for special occasions, but maybe I should come after work sometime as a treat...! PS. get the teriyaki cauliflowers, for goodness sake.

Indian restaurant
Dinner theater
Fine dining restaurant
Veeraswamy is London's oldest Indian restaurant, established in 1926 by the grandson of an English army general and an Indian princess. The restaurant boasts a luxurious Maharajah-inspired decor and has been frequented by esteemed figures such as the Prince of Wales, Winston Churchill, and Charlie Chaplin. After being acquired by Ranjit Mathrani and Namitha Panjabi in 1997, the opulent ambiance that initially attracted high society was restored.
We visited for weekend lunch, and were not disappointed. The interior of the restaurant is impeccably decorated and well-kept, with a bright, open feel. Most seats have a view out over Regent's Street, and even if you don't the splendour of the restaurant is a very fair compromise. The menu is varied with some creativity to the dishes, and appeals to a variety of dietary requirements too. Portions were generous and the food felt fresh, flavours balanced, and even the classics felt they had that extra touch of excellence to them. As it was a birthday visit, we were also gifted a chocolate mousse cake and birthday card, a very welcome gesture. Overall, a vibrant restaurant with comforting yet impeccable food, at a very generous price point - would thoroughly recommend!

Situated just off Regents street with an entrance off a side alley, we visited for an evening meal. Doorman and then lift to the actual floor the resturant is on. Cosy and well presented throughout. We ordered a number of dishes including a chicken tika, lamb sheesh, scallops, aubergine and naan basket to name a few. Overall the flavours were there and clearly good quality. The tikka was flavourful and tender and the spice was there on the lamb. However, the pricing. Its Regent street so any price goes but really didn't think it was worth it. There is a £60 per head minimum fyi which doesn't help also. On top of that, there is also a foot note on the menu about flash photography and intrusive photos, presumably to ensure the low lit cosy ambeince is preserved. However they didn't care that much when a large table where making a lot of noise prior to seating right next to us.

Although I visited many years ago, it is worthy of this review. The food was simply divine- the dishes were carefully and lovingly explained - it truly was amazing food. The setting and ambience were both lovely and quiet, even though it is right in the heart of the city. Beautiful views to boot…not easy on the pocket however if you want real fine Indian dining, this is the place to be.

Dumpling restaurant
Chinese restaurant
Beijing Dumpling is a cozy, wood-paneled restaurant in Chinatown known for its housemade dumplings and traditional Chinese dishes. The chefs can be seen crafting the dumplings through the window, creating an authentic and inviting atmosphere. The food is fresh and served promptly, with a menu that allows guests to take their time deciding on their order. While the service may not be overly friendly, it is efficient.
It’s a great little place. The food was good overall. Fried rice not great, but the Dan Dan noodles were out of this world! Will def come back, probably order less food. I got excited with the menu and we ordered way too much food.

Great food, dour service and an atmosphere that could be much much better. The prices are fair for the quantity. They serve fast, but look very grumpy. There is no draft beer so make do with bottles or cans. They variety of dumplings should be able to satisfy most cravings. Even vegetarians will find dumplings that they like, and can eat.
Nitya J — Google review
We visited Beijing Dumpling on a Monday evening and were pleasantly surprised to find it not too busy, which made for a relaxed dining experience. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, and watching the dumplings being handmade through the front window adds an authentic touch that immediately sets the right expectations. We ordered a variety of dishes to share: corn soup, chicken and beef mains, steamed rice, and of course their signature dumplings. The food quality was genuinely impressive. The dumplings lived up to their reputation with delicate wrappers and well-seasoned fillings. The corn soup had a nice sweetness, and both the chicken and beef dishes were flavorful and generous in portion size. We were seated upstairs in the top dining area, which was comfortable and well-maintained. The restaurant is larger than it appears from the street, with basement seating as well, so they can accommodate good-sized groups. Service was efficient and friendly, with the ordering process using a tick-box menu system that makes selecting from their extensive options straightforward. Overall, Beijing Dumpling delivers on its reputation for quality handmade dumplings in a pleasant setting at reasonable prices. The combination of watching the dumpling-making craft, the extensive menu options, and efficient service makes it easy to see why this place is popular. I'd recommend visiting on a weekday evening if you prefer a quieter atmosphere, and definitely order a variety of their dumplings to experience what they do best. What we ordered: Corn soup, chicken dish, beef dish, steamed rice, handmade dumplings Best for: Groups wanting authentic dumplings, weekday dinners Tip: Arrive early or book ahead on weekends as it gets very busy One minor note: one person in our party experienced some digestive discomfort later that evening, though the other felt perfectly fine despite sharing the same dishes. It's hard to pinpoint the cause, and it may have been entirely unrelated to the meal, but worth mentioning for transparency.

The food was authentic and full of flavour. Everything was on the table within 10 minutes, which was impressive. However, some of the staff didn’t seem very welcoming — it felt like they knew people would come regardless, so they didn’t bother much with hospitality. While the food was absolutely on point, the service could definitely use some improvement.

Only visited for a quick bite before theatre, but will definitely come back to try some more options from the menu! The food looked stunning everywhere we looked! Really nice dumplings — fresh, flavourful, and great value for money! 🥟 Everything tasted homemade and comforting. The prices are very reasonable too, which makes it a perfect spot for a quick and satisfying meal. We also tried the sweet and sour pork, which was surprisingly good — crispy on the outside, tender inside, and the sauce had a nice balance of sweetness and tang. The crispy seaweed wasn’t my favourite, but everything else definitely made up for it. Overall, a solid place for tasty, affordable Chinese food. I’d happily come back for the dumplings alone! 👌🏻

Beijing duck 🦆 and spinach was my favourite! Crispy seaweed is new for me and it’s kinda salty and crispy. Perfect for appetiser! Fiery chicken soup is not spicy and love the texture! Nestled in the charming neighborhood of Primrose Hill, Lemonia is a beloved traditional Greek restaurant that has been delighting locals since 1979. With its inviting light-filled interior adorned with lush greenery and hanging baskets, it exudes a warm Mediterranean ambiance reminiscent of an island getaway. The stunning arched windows allow sunlight to pour in, creating a serene dining atmosphere perfect for enjoying their delectable offerings.
I had an incredible experience at this Greek restaurant! The food was absolutely authentic and packed with flavor – every dish was a delicious taste of Greece. From the perfectly seasoned lamb to the fresh tzatziki, everything was top-notch. The atmosphere was warm and inviting that made the meal even more special. What really stood out, though, was the service. The staff was incredibly friendly, experienced, and attentive, making us feel like family. We went here for a networking dinner organized by London Business School. The evening followed a fixed set menu, which started with a wide range of small dishes (meze) served for everyone to share—both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. I really enjoyed the Tuna Fish Salad—flavourful and well-made. The bread was fine, though I’ve had better in other Greek restaurants. After the shared dishes, we each chose one of five main courses. I had the grilled salmon, which was very good, but note that mains don’t come with side dishes. To finish, you choose one dessert from three options. Overall, a solid group dining experience with plenty of variety and delicious food.

I came across this restaurant by chance. My wife and I were walking around and saw that the terrace was full, so we looked at the menu and decided to stay for dinner. I'm the kind of person who, when I arrive at a restaurant I don't know, I ask the waiter for recommendations of their best dishes and lets himself guide me. When the waiter arrived, I asked him if he could recommend any of their specialties, and he told me, quite arrogantly, that he didn't recommend them because all of their dishes are good. So I decided to order fried calamari, which arrived without any sauce. We also ordered hummus, and it arrived without any vegetables or bread. We had to ask for extra bread. Then came the lamp chop, sea bass, and Greek salad. The food, in general, was quite basic and tasteless. We finished dinner and left halfway through the meal. We asked for the bill and told the waiter that we needed the receipt with the VAT breakdown, to which the waiter replied that the receipt had VAT. I tried to explain that the receipt didn't have the VAT breakdown, and he started arguing, claiming that they'd been working for years and always gave out that receipt, and that it already had the VAT. Anyway, to avoid further arguments with the waiter, I paid and left. I hope the manager or owner can resolve the VAT issue and give it to their customers when they need it. It doesn't cost anything, and it's our right to obtain the receipt with the VAT breakdown. And I hope that you can provide better service in the future.

First time eating here, the food are great, service is top notch, ambiance and atmosphere is lovely. My waiter told me to try the legendary greek wine first as it was unique with a taste of pine and it was helpful - ended up with half bottle of it. Lamb Shashlik with the rice was my fav - flavourful without lamb smell.

A beautiful atmosphere. The service and the food is impeccable. As being half-Greek, I enjoyed nothing more than seeing many dishes on the menu that I remember my Yiayia cooking for me growing up. While I would say it is on the more expensive side, it was truly a lovely experience and my fiancée and I would pay it again.

Visited this amazing restaurant due to a love of Jonathan Creek. In 1997 Lemonia and a homeware shop across the road, Graham & Green, featured in The Reconstituted Corpse. Whatever brought us there, the amazing meal we had will live long in the memory. Ignore any negative reviews on the internet, this is an authentic restaurant serving proper food made from real ingredients. We had baked cheese, spinach and feta pastry, stuffed vine leaves, and pitta bread for starters and meat and vegetable moussakas for main. Absolutely amazing. Bravo!

We had a lovely lunch on Sunday for 3 at Lemonia! We called ahead and were originally asked to sit outside, but when we arrived there was space to seat us in their indoor patio which was a very bright and inviting space. Our server was friendly and helpful, and helped us decide between the seabass and the lamb, by recommending the Kleftiko (lamb) which was roasted for 4 hours and was divine and falling off the bone ✨ We ordered the Avgolemono, Saganaki, and the Lountza to start - and I must say the Saganaki was soooo delicious! The other dishes were good as well. For mains - Aside from the Kleftiko, we had the Moussaka which was wonderful. Great meal!

We had such a wonderful experience here! The atmosphere is lively and authentic, perfect for a night out with friends. The seafood paella was absolutely delicious – rich in flavour, with perfectly cooked rice and generous portions of fresh prawns, squid, and mussels. The tapas were also spot on – the garlic prawns were juicy and fragrant, the patatas bravas had the perfect crisp, and the pan con tomate tasted just like in Spain. Everything paired so well with the sangria, which was refreshing and fruity without being too sweet. Service was friendly and attentive even though the restaurant was busy, and we never felt rushed. Definitely a place I’d love to come back to when craving proper Spanish food in London!

The freshly cut tomatoes with a little sea salt and olive oil are absolutely delicious! 🐟Grilled Cod Skewers: So fresh and tender! The meat is so tender, it looks like it's right on the cheek! 🍗Seared Chicken: This dish is so delicious! The skin is fried to a crispy crisp, and the chicken is fried just right, so soft and tender! I can't wait to order another plate of bread to finish all the sauce! 🦐Grilled Prawns in Garlic Sauce: A must-order for almost every table! Sizzling and sizzling, eat it while it's hot! The seasoning and olive oil complement the prawns so well! 🥘Seafood Paella: A Spanish must-try! The portion is huge and it's easy to slice! The side dishes included mussels, prawns, fish, and squid, perfect for two people! 🍮For dessert, we tried the caramel pudding: it was beautiful! The caramel layer was super crispy! You could literally take a chunk of caramel right off! The pudding had a rich, eggy aroma! It was the perfect ending. ~ My friend ordered the traditional Spanish cake with ice cream: it felt a bit like a nutty sponge cake, and it was delicious with the ice cream!

Must come here when in London. Wow!! Wow! Wow!! This restaurant has the most amazing food. The tapas is on point!!! The drinks are unique and delicious. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to eat. I wanted it all. Started with The Buñuelos de gamas (prawn fritters with garlic alioli) were cooked to perfection. I could eat these every day. I also ordered from the vegetarian portion the alcachofas a la plancha (grilled artichoke with alioli). Spectacular!!! Had the lovely Aceitunas (marinated mixed olives +) which kept me busy in between all the lovely plates coming. And a lovely surprise of the mini bun Chorizo y huevo (chorizo & quail egg on mini bun) was the perfect spice for the pallet. Adult drinks were unique and tasty. Topped it all of with raspberry sorbet! Wow. What a serving. I was well taken care of. Service was impeccable!! Must come !!

Din Tai Fung Covent Garden is a Taiwanese restaurant known for its delicious dim sum, including the famous xiao long bao (steamed pork dumplings). With a Michelin star to its name, this restaurant has garnered popularity in locations like Selfridges and Tottenham Court Road. The delicate dough skin of their signature dish is pleated with precision and steamed to perfection. Visitors can watch the skilled chefs at work through a window while enjoying top-notch food.
Wow such great fresh tasting noodles and dumplings. Probably one of the best noodles and dumpling wrap I have had. Just popped in for a snack will have to come back. Edit: came back 2 days later for dinner to try more of the menu and it did not disappoint. Best are the noodles and dumplings.

As always, fabulous food! I’ll highlight the green beans and the incomparable xiao long bao are just sublime. This place had the signature spicy sauce as well that was a huge hit with our table. The service was delightful, and I’ll give particular gratitude to our excellent waiter Eddy who was so attentive and patient with us! The only thing to note was that it was a bit loud and bustling and overly lit which wasn’t super conducive to the atmosphere of the place. That said, I’d listen to heavy metal music under the heat of the blazing sun just to have more of those dumplings so Din Tai Fung will always be a go-to for that heavenly food!

Came here for my sister’s birthday celebration and we all absolutely loved it! The Covent Garden branch is the flagship store and the experience definitely lived up to that. The staff were incredibly accommodating and attentive, always checking in to make sure everything was perfect. They even surprised my sister with a small candle on her birthday bun (which she got through their loyalty program). It’s little touches like that that make the experience memorable. The food was amazing too. We ordered a selection of dumplings, including the famous xiao long bao, Taiwanese fried chicken, shao mai and more. Everything was fresh, flavourful and beautifully presented. I’ll definitely be coming back again. Thank you to the team for making our celebration so special!

An Excellent Dining Experience at Din Tai Fung! From the moment we walked in, the experience at Din Tai Fung was outstanding. The staff provided superb service — they were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Everyone we interacted with was professional and welcoming, and they made the whole visit feel special. The team was also very accommodating, making sure everything came out just right and that we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the cucumber with spicy sauce, which was fresh, crisp, and perfectly seasoned — a simple dish done to perfection. Then came the beef xiao long bao, which were delicate and flavorful with rich, savory broth inside each dumpling. The chicken buns were light and fluffy with a great balance of flavor, and the special noodle soup with braised beef was phenomenal — the beef was tender, the noodles perfectly cooked, and the broth deeply satisfying. The atmosphere was also fantastic — lively but comfortable, with a clean and modern feel that made it a great place to relax and enjoy our meal. Everything from the service to the food quality showed real care and attention to detail. Overall, it was a truly wonderful dining experience from start to finish. Din Tai Fung continues to set the standard for excellent food and service. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

We had the best dinner. The food and service were excellent. I particularly appreciated the free tea refills, since it was a cold rainy day. And the bag to put all our stuff and purses in was very useful and neat as well. But the waiter could have offered it himself. We saw it at other tables and asked for it.

Our server Una took care of us beautifully! She made the perfect food portion recommendations, and helped us order dessert in a timely fashion so we would not have to wait The Queue line is LONG at this location, but we made a reservation ahead of time and were seated within 5 minutes of arrival and checking in with the host.

We booked Din Tai Fung in Covent Garden for dinner as it is our favourite place and we enjoyed it again!! The atmosphere is lively yet well-organised — modern, bright, and spacious, with that signature buzz that makes dining here feel special. Of course, the highlight was the food. The truffle and mushroom buns were perfect — delicate, full of flavour, and served piping hot. Every dumpling was beautifully folded and consistently delicious. The rest of the dishes were just as impressive — from the noodles to the mushroom egg fried rice, the fresh, we had the oriental salad with special vinegar dressing and one of our favourites the wood ear mushrooms!! Everything was fresh and perfectly seasoned. Service was quick and efficient, with staff always ready to explain the menu or offer suggestions. Even though the place was busy, everything ran smoothly and the wait never felt long. It’s the ideal spot for anyone craving authentic Taiwanese food right in the heart of London. Consistent quality, great energy, and totally worth the hype! 🥟✨

Cafe Boheme is a vibrant bistro located on Old Compton Street, offering a diverse menu and an inviting atmosphere. Whether you're craving classic French dishes like confit duck and steak frites for dinner or a light lunch of croque monsieur or tuna nicoise, this spot has you covered. The cafe also boasts a curated French wine list and hosts live jazz sessions in the afternoons.
Very cute café! We stumbled upon it, because there was a line in front of a restaurant we found on google maps. Very happy to end up at Cafe Boheme. Breakfast and coffee was very nice (good flavours) and the service was perfect. Very nice staff!
Maaike M — Google review
Service was okay, but I didn’t care for the decor or atmosphere. Had originally requested sitting at the bar but that was really cramped; but there was no issue switching this for a table. I’m not really a fan of French food and was only eating there as a friend wanted to have Steak Tartare, which he really enjoyed. Unfortunately, I had quite a limited choice of what I fancied eating from the menu. I thought about having an omelette but in the end I chose the Poulet and Frits, which was very tasty. I won’t be returning, but my friend certainly will. Service charge of 13.5% was steep taking everything into consideration.

Fantastic atmosphere in this newly opened cafe and restaurant. I came after a bad day, and had this fantastic freddo espresso on the house, just because Alex at the bar wanted me to try it the way they make it in Greece: when does that happen in London?! Real, true hospitality, you can tell these are passionate people, and are not in hospitality just for lack of alternatives like many others. Amazing addition to the neighborhood!

Love popping by for lunch when in Soho! The croque Madame is simply Devine! Try the avocado green salad - that dressing is 🙌

I’m a solo female traveler in my ‘50’s. I had a wonderful experience at Cafe Boheme for a cocktail and a snack at noon. The Margarita de Casa was delicious, the perfect blend of sour, sweet, and heat. I ordered the Fromages du jour plate and it was perfect for nibbling while people watching at one of their outdoor tables. I finished with a request for an affogato with a snifter of Amaretto… heaven. Service was attentive but inconspicuous, with no pressure to leave until I was ready. Would highly recommend… I’m already planning my next visit!

Very popular restaurant in Soho. The place was full and tables were being turned very quickly by the on point staff. The vibe is good with lots of noise.Food was good and cooked to your requirements and all dishes that were ordered at our table were served with speed and friendly. Prices were very reasonable for where you are in the WestEnd.

The food is okay, and the atmosphere is cozy and cute. However, the waitress who served us was very rude. I was having a bit of trouble with her accent, so I asked her my question again, but she just ignored me and refused to explain more about the menu. The same person also unnecessarily checks multiple times do we want to order more drinks or can she bring the bill to us right after we just finished our food (by the time there are plenty of seats in the restaurant, and we also didn’t stay long) Didn’t feel welcome at all. After all of this, 13.5% of service charges feel like a joke.

Lovely tasty breakfast! but just dropped a point for the disappointing hot chocolate which was weak, watery, and not very hot. For 4.50 would have expected something better in this quality eatery. Only a small quibble but maybe a pointer to improve for future customers who might expect a delicious treat. Again, breakfast generous and yummy though

Restaurant
Reubens Restaurant, located on Baker Street, has been a staple in London's dining scene since 1973. This long-running kosher establishment offers traditional cuisine and is renowned for its authentic deli food. The restaurant serves glatt kosher meat, with their salt beef being a standout dish that is steamed to a special recipe. In addition to the generous portions, diners can indulge in classic dishes such as chicken soup with lockshen and kneidlach.
If u fancy a clear chicken soup, this is the place you have to go in London. It doesn’t look extremely special but the taste is truly exceptional. Staff are energetic and helpful! This is a place I will come back in my next trip!

Eventually got a chance to try their dinner menu after its re-opening. We had the special basement sector for the night and the service was just great. The dinner host ordered dishes bit by bit, but we were all full before reaching the mains. Enjoyed the casual but delicious dining experience here.

Nice redecoration, great service and our food was outstanding. Two complaints though: 1) The Reubens Salt Beef Sandwich is too big. Even my mouth couldn't get around it but I managed. 2) If you are disabled or with a disabled person(s) in your party, the toilet is downstairs and no lift. So the stairs are the only option. PS. My chicken soup was the best I've ever had, full of flavour with no grease floating on top. Price point is spot on by today prices. Whereas in the past, found it was always pushing the boundaries.

Fast casual meat restaurant near central London. Signature salted beef was pretty good. Service was pretty poor. Had trouble accommodating gluten free/celiac safe food.

Reubens is hands down the best place for proper salt beef and pastrami sandwiches! Venue: Kish Date Of Visit: 13/09/2025 I visited Kish in Kilburn with a couple of friends to experience Persian cuisine. The atmosphere/decor was pleasant and the staff were quite friendly. I had the following: - Hummous - Saffron Chicken Soup - Kebab Koobideh Nan - Immune Booster (drink) - Moroccan Tea They served the starters initially within 10 minutes or so of ordering followed by the main dish shortly afterwards The hummous was quite satisfying and I thoroughly enjoyed the saffron chicken soup which was served nice and hot - perfect for the cool weather. The flavours really stood out. The Koobideh Kebab nan was rather different to the typical seekh kebab served at Pakistani restaurants. It was bland and moist in comparison but in a pleasant way. I really enjoyed the Immune booster drink which had a mix of orange, honey and ginger which was perfect for the weather and the Moroccan Tea was great too. Total cost for the above was around £46 (the hummous and Moroccan pot of tea was shared). Overall I enjoyed the experience even though It was a bit on the expensive side. 5/5 Stars

The service here was the best service I have seen, the staff were extremely warm, welcoming and active. I was very impressed with their hospitality. The food here tastes beautiful, full of flavours and decently priced. No other Persian restaurant beats this place, my go to Persian restaurant from now on.

An Outstanding Persian Dining Experience at Kish Restaurant! We recently had the pleasure of dining at Kish Restaurant in London, and we can’t stop raving about it! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with such warmth and professionalism — the staff truly made this a standout experience. Every single team member we encountered was attentive, friendly, and incredibly professional, making us feel genuinely valued and well cared for throughout our visit. The food was just as impressive! Everything we ordered was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The kebabs were grilled to perfection — juicy, tender, and full of authentic Persian spices. The baghali polo (rice with fava/broad beans) was an absolute highlight — fragrant, fluffy, and paired wonderfully with the meats. Even the starters were delicious — fresh, vibrant, and a perfect way to begin the meal. Kish Restaurant is the kind of place you want to return to again and again — not just for the fantastic food, but for the exceptional hospitality that truly sets it apart. Highly, highly recommend this gem if you’re looking for an unforgettable Persian meal in London!

Barbecue restaurant
Jin Go Gae is an authentic Korean restaurant in London. It specializes in BBQ chargrilled specialities and traditional Korean cuisine. The atmosphere is intimate, with plenty of seating for families or groups, and the food is delicious.
I went to the place around 9:30pm but still felt really welcomed. The food was amazing, the best ox tail soup I have ever had. Definitely one of the best Korean restaurants I have been to in London. The ladies were the nicest people, the service made the food even better. A definitely 5 star place and will come back for the soup for sure.
Yukun Q — Google review
We’ve been returning customers at this restaurant for years, but unfortunately, this visit will be our last. The food was actually quite good, especially the fried chicken, but everything else was disappointingly bad. Firstly, the prices need to be looked at. Nearly £30 for four thin strips of meat is simply not fair, even for central London. But the worst part was the service. At a Korean barbecue, it’s expected that customers cook their food to their liking. Instead, utensils were snatched from us and food was thrown onto the table with a clear attitude. The atmosphere was tense and uncomfortable the whole time. Things got even worse when it was time to pay. After spending over £170, the older female waitress tried to sneak in a further service charge without telling us, even after we tipped. When we asked about it, she repeatedly snatched the card machine, causing the payment to “cancel” four times, all while publicly scolding the younger male waiter, who was polite and helpful. To the two older female staff members: please be kind and respectful to all customers. This felt deliberately deceptive and unprofessional. Adding charges without consent is unacceptable, almost like theft. The food might still be good, but no meal is worth that level of disrespect and discomfort. We won’t be coming back. Please seriously review your service practices.

I had an amazing experience at this Korean BBQ restaurant. The meat was tender and flavourful, and the side dishes were fresh and well-balanced. The staff were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, perfect for both friends and family gatherings. Highly recommend trying their marinated beef ribs bbq and the beef rib soup!

I first went to Jin Go Gae maybe about 2 years ago and really enjoyed the food. I went again recently to try it out again as I was in the area. I ordered various dishes such as pajeon, pork belly bossam, bulgogi, kimchi jiggae , tteok-bokki , a beef meat to be grilled ,a beef short rib soup, fried chicken wings and garlic ganjang wings. Everything was decent but nothing was particularly amazing either. My favourite thing was probably the beef dish that was grilled and the only thing I didn’t really like were the wings , other than that everything was fine. Service was good, our waitress was friendly and the food came out quickly.

Jin Go Gae is located in the heart of New Malden, an area home to over 20,000 Koreans. The restaurant serves traditional Korean dishes such as BBQ and fried chicken. Dropped by for a workday lunch, and it’s quite a bargain (though what’s the point of a £8.99, and only accepting cash?) The cod cheek broth was piping hot with an umami flavor. The restaurant is spacious and cozy, but the waiters seemed to be more interested in groups of customers than me visiting alone.

Nestled near Kings Cross station, Supawan Thai Food is a charming café that stands out amidst the bustling restaurant scene of Coal Drops Yard. With its vibrant dining room designed by chef Wichet Khongphoon, this spot is perfect for everything from casual after-work drinks to lively Saturday night dinners. The menu features classic Thai dishes like rich Penang chicken curry and zesty tom yum noodles, alongside an array of tantalizing appetizers such as crispy prawns and stuffed chicken wings.
I have been trying Thai restaurants all over the UK and I can confidently say that this one is the best I've found so far! I don't know how I missed it before, as it was recommended to me by a business partner in London. I'm Thai and originally from the southern part of Thailand and the food here truly reminds me of home😭 I only wish I lived closer!

Possibly the best Thai food I’ve ever eaten, everything had so much flavour and the food really packs a punch. Highly recommend ordering loads of things to share so that you can try more than one thing. The homemade ice cream was a lovely way to end the meal. Also to say the staff were all incredibly warm and welcoming; they even sang happy birthday to my dad without me asking them to! It’s not cheap but the food is well worth it.
Daisy L — Google review
I come here so often, but I just realised I’ve never written a review, which feels so unfair to a place I truly love and always enjoy visiting! The staff are always well-trained, and the owner is incredibly attentive to every detail. I love how he personally comes around to say hello to every table at some point during the day, catch him if you can! Lol I actually have lots more pictures and videos than this! This place is truly one of my all-time favourite Southern Thai restaurants in the UK! I really respect how authentic the flavours are and how carefully the owner sources and imports the ingredients directly from Southern Thailand. Some of them aren’t easy to find! you literally have to get them from locals in the south! But I have to warn you… this is not the restaurant for anyone who can’t handle spicy food! 🌶️🔥 I absolutely love dishes that are rich in flavour and full of heat and Southern Thai cuisine is exactly that: bold, unique, spicy, and packed with herbs. Beware! it might make your heart race (in the best way)! 😂 I truly admire that the owner hasn’t toned down the flavours for the British market. It’s so original and incredibly delicious!
Sunanta W — Google review
I’ve been on the hunt for great Thai food since moving to London, and after my first visit to Supawan, I can honestly say it’s the best I’ve had here. The food is authentic and bursting with flavour—you can really tell it’s cooked with care. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and dishes came out hot and fresh as they were ready. We started with the Laab Aubergine and Pee Kai Yud Sai (stuffed chicken wings). The aubergine had a perfect sweet-sour balance—my mouth waters just thinking about it—and the wings were excellent too. For mains, we had Dad’s Beef Curry and the Kha-nom Jeen Namya Poo (crab curry with rice noodles), plus a side of Train Egg Fried Rice. Everything was sensational. The spice brought a warm, lingering heat—not too much, but those with low tolerance might find it challenging. My boyfriend loved the fried rice, and I was spooning crab curry straight from the bowl. So good. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but absolutely worth it for the quality and freshness—especially considering the location near King’s Cross. I’ll definitely be going back—there are so many other dishes I’m excited to try.

Probably one of the best and most unique Thai restaurant I have been to. Homely and full of plants, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Some unusual starters like chicken wing stuffed with minced meat and noodles, crispy rice salad, corn fritters. And the southern Thai mains : melting pork belly, dad’s beef curry with pea aubergine, crab with rice noodles were absolutely delicious. Leave space for their home made ice cream
Angela L — Google review
Lovely looking thai place, cute and cosy inside and nice attentive staff. However the portion size was underwhelming considering it's more expensive than most Thai places in the area. Paying about 3-5 pound more for a curry but getting less was not ideal. Spice level was over the top and I love spicy food, it was to a level that didn't boost the flavours but was just hot to be hot. We didn't get wine as that was also overpriced versus other restaurants.
Noémie B — Google review
A bit pricey but totally worth it. Meiang phuket (grilled prawns) is the most delicious thing I've ever eaten in my life, highly recommended! Staff very nice, fast service and beautifully decorated restaurant. I'm very happy.

Very busy restaurant, the waiters all seem to be extremely busy and therefore not very welcoming services. Cooking was right on spot and feel authentic, we liked our pork belly dish a lot, but the crab vermicelli noodles was a light disappointment, especially given the price point. Malaysian restaurant
Restaurant
Laksamania is a popular Malaysian restaurant located on Newman Street in Soho, known for its casual atmosphere and traditional Malaysian dishes. The restaurant offers generous portions of classic Malaysian eats such as satays and noodles, with an open kitchen adding to the dining experience.
This is my second visit to Laksamania as the place is so convenient from Oxford Circus and within walking distance to London Palladium where we were there for concert. I was amazed to the service provided by the staff is exceeded our expectation as we have been so many restaurants and Laksamania staff are so attentive, friendly and helpful. The chicken satay are so succulent served with full flavoured spicy of peanut sauce. We had Grilled Giant Tiger Prawn in Melaka soup which is full of Nyonya flavour which suits our taste bud. The Giant Tiger Prawn wasn't overcooked and pleasant to enjoy with vermicelli noodles. The Char Kuey Teow is not soggy and full of wok hei very pungent reminds us it is Penang style as it has sliced chinese sausage. The Roti Paratha was freshly made and reminds me of Malaysian Roti Canai. Unlike some other Malaysian restaurants which provide frozen. We also had Cendol which was recommended by the lady boss who came to speak to us and knowing about the restaurant was opened at 2018 On the whole, we were very happy with the meal and the service. We would certainly will go again and try their other dishes. One thing I would like to point out is, it is very rare restaurants are making their own fresh roti paratha, this is my first time to try this roti in London Laksamania! It was crispy and the maker has to take their time to knead dough before expanding and fold then fry, which takes a lot of work and patience!
Yong M — Google review
The food is incredible. However, if you struggle with spicy food, be aware that in the menu they had kindly inserted a "🌶️" symbol so you can spot the spicy food easily. Also, the Roti Paratha is spectacular!! We devoured it in a heartbeat. The atmosphere is very intimate and soft. If you go to the downstairs floor, the place is even better. Perfect for dinner parties and gathering big groups. I recommend it. I will definitely be back.

We popped in for an early soho dinner on a Tuesday evening, following an afternoon of shopping. We got there at 6pm and got a table without having a booking. As it was our first time, I really appreciated the friendly waitress who helped us pick dishes to try. I ordered the London Laksa, which is a curry based soup dish, and I was told it was the least spicy option. We also ordered a Chicken Lo Mein. They were both made to order, well presented and flavourful. We also ordered the Malaysian Satay Lamb as starter, which is their house speciality. I have never seen satay lamb on the menu elsewhere so we wanted to try, this was also very tasty. By the time we finished our meal the place was full upstairs. The toilets are upstairs at the back as you go past the bar, they also have seating downstairs. Overall a very good dinner option in soho if you like authentic Asian/Malaysian food. In fact I have recommended the place to friends who have already been and we are planning on coming back too.
Linda T — Google review
Never had a Laska before, but trying it out for the first time here has me hooked! I bought the Singapore Laksa, which is the most popular dish here, for good reason! It's a creamy coconuty broth with a plethora of toppings to spoil your belly with. The flavour packed chicken, shrimp and fish cakes were so good, the noodles absorbed all the broth too. Our waiter was kind enough to keep refilling our glass with water, especially when he noticed himself that it was running low. I really appreciated the service. Overall, a very good experience and thw atmosphere is very cozy and comfortable.
Sandra P — Google review
The first time I entered Laksamania, the apeal did not provoke me any attempt to know anything else about this place. The outside and lobby, they are as rustic as it can get, and the top floor is still not very welcoming; perhaps a bit too dark, too busy, and the impression that there is nothing else but these lined-up, sometimes empty tables. The best part is when you go down the stairs, and you find a harmonic, welcoming, sometimes crowded but very enjoyable restaurant ambience, with the open kitchen, and these chefs that live, deliver and in a very cheeky way, observe how you take your first bite or sip, and they read your mind, in a way to check how much you like your dish... yes, I noticed that in the dozen times I have visited the restaurant. I haven't dated in a very long time, but if I have to, I know what my place will be, it'll be Laksamania. I love the food, the elaboration, the experience, and the team. I very much love everything about this place.
Fonsi D — Google review
Been here so often and always delivers; about time I leave a 5 star review. Laksa portions are generous, staff frequently refill your water, and service is fast. Although, staff ask for your order every few minutes, so make sure you decide fast. Otherwise, excellent.

Really authentic laksa. The chicken bao was pretty good as well. Edit: Been here on 4 different occasions now. The laksas are consistently good. Got to try their rojak (usually pre order) and it was very much something you would find in Malaysia. Their Char Kuey Teow and Wat Tan Hor are definitely something to try a few visits in. Highly recommend to any Malaysians wanting a taste of home ❤️
Melissa S — Google review
For those new to laksa, Laksamania is a great starting point. The laksa, while average to seasoned fans, bursts with flavor for first-timers, offering a rich and exciting introduction to this dish. The meat skewers are a standout, juicy and well-seasoned, making them a must-try. The beef curry lo mein is also quite tasty, with bold flavors, though I didn’t get a photo. After a while, the dishes may start to taste similar due to their shared spice profiles. Overall, it’s a solid spot for laksa newbies looking for a flavorful experience.

Organic restaurant
Itadakizen London is a unique Japanese restaurant that offers an organic and vegan twist to traditional Japanese cuisine. The menu features innovative dishes such as tofu tempura, marinated peanuts, udon bowls, and Korean-inspired veggie kimbap. As the first Japanese vegan restaurant in Europe, Itadakizen successfully combines the essence of Japanese cuisine with veganism by using core components like soya bean, rice, noodles, vegetables, fruits, and seaweed.
The cuisine is truly delectable. The menu consists of various tapas to share (or not!). The choice is as vast as the flavors, you won’t be disapointed! The staff is very friendly and the food is served at the speed of light. Of course, the place is vegan so you'll find plenty of options. Dear meat-eater friends, don’t get scared: you won’t feel any miss :)

4.5 star. Great vegan restaurant! I like their lunch deal — it was filling and decent priced. I got the Japanese curry & the tofu steaks. Only suggestion is maybe adding more tofu to the actual curry.

Itadakizen has been my go-to spot in London for over 10 years, and it never fails to delight me. Every single dish on the menu bursts with flavor, creativity, and balance—it’s proof that plant-based cuisine can be soulful, satisfying, and unforgettable. This little gem is intimate and always buzzing, a true testament to its well-deserved success. The only downside? The new 90-minute limit at the table, which sometimes makes me wish I could linger longer over such a beautiful meal. Still, Itadakizen remains one of my all-time favorite restaurants in London—a place I return to again and again, and one that always feels like coming home.

Absolutely faultless. The staff were like angels, the music was wonderful. You would never know it was vegan. It was absolutely superb in every way. I love Japanese food but it's fish heavy obviously so I don't get many opportunities like this. The heritage grains were a treat but the tofu steak was like a crispy cloud. Can't wait to go back, thank you
Hannah G — Google review
Absolutely delicious food! The service is ultra fast, and the plates are well garnished. Portions are on a good size. There are a lot of options, most vegans, and some vegetarian. For desert, the lemon mochi is mandatory - you will not regret it! There are only a dozen or so tables inside, so it can get full fast, but we went on a Friday evening and was not too crowded. Great atmosphere, decoration, and music. What a great vibe! This is also a dog friendly place, and our little one was received with a large bowl of fesh water he desperately needed. Highly recommended, and we'll return for sure!

Itadakizen London — Vegan Japanese with Soul and Subtlety Nestled near King’s Cross, Itadakizen is a serene pocket of plant-based Japanese cuisine that feels both authentic and quietly revolutionary. The menu is entirely vegan, yet full of depth — from delicate gyoza and karaage tofu to spicy ramen and mochi ice cream. Dishes arrive tapas-style, encouraging exploration and sharing. The space is small, minimalist, and intimate — ideal for slow lunches or cozy dinners. Staff are warm and welcoming, even when you arrive late, and the service is swift without rushing you. Highlights include the miso aubergine, mapo tofu, and fried mushrooms paired with a crisp Kirin beer — a combo that borders on bliss. Bonus: Itadakizen also doubles as an art gallery and occasionally hosts live music, adding a cultural layer to the dining experience. A must-visit for vegans and non-vegans alike. Thoughtful food, gentle ambiance, and a sense of quiet joy in every bite. Book ahead — it’s popular for good reason

Seafood restaurant
Restaurant
Parsons is a popular eatery known for its upscale seafood dishes and selection of wines by the glass, all served in a bright and intimate setting. The restaurant exudes a traditional, old-school fish restaurant vibe with its Victorian-style white tiles and high marble-counter tables.
My husband and I enjoyed our evening very much. After a busy day in London we discovered your restaurant. Sharing a few dishes was just what we needed. Fresh produce and lovely flavours. Thank you.

We had a wonderful seafood dinner at Parsons. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making our experience truly enjoyable. The food was also excellent.

It’s a gem, bannister. Got this out of a restaurant guide book and you never know with those so I was very pleased to find this place completely charming. Small space but done up beautifully, some nice classy lobsters painted on the tile etc, doesn’t feel cramped at all. My favorite kind of menu too, lots of good little plates like anchovies (perfect) grilled sardines (flawless- very good pickled fennel). I love prawns but none of the ones I’ve had in London have been deveined which I find very unpleasant but maybe it’s just a European thing so I didn’t enjoy that but the lemon mayo they came with??? Poetry. The smoked salmon on Guinness bread went great with it, and was oh my lord the stuff smoked salmon dreams are made of. Just that with one of their salads and you have a great meal but if you delve into entrees highly recommend the trout. It had a seaweed thing going on that we had great respect for. The crab salad sandwich could be really good but the bread was staleish and dry. There wasn’t much filling, might’ve just been a bad day for it. The salad that came with was great though. And DESSERT my god get the fig tart and maybe get ten of them. Warm, nutty, perfect bake, great fresh tasting fig, we were fighting over it and I’ve missed it since. The staff were wonderful and other diners were very classy looking people, sort of a fun mix of polish and punk. If you’ve been to NYC and enjoyed a place called Jeffrey’s Grocery this spot is up your alley- or if you’re just a human who likes a cool spot with great food.

What a lovely restaurant. Not too many tables inside, light tiled interior with small(ish) wooden tables make it feel cosy. The wine/water station in the middle is a fantastic centre piece and ensures someone's always there to keep an eye out. Incredible how the waitresses manage to get through with such ease. Window seats look fantastic and was a first for us to see. I would recommend any item on their menu. Full of flavour true to the ingredients, and not masked by sauces that overpower. Staff are very friendly and helpful and very accomodating with my coeliac desease. If you're looking for accessible seating, that would only be available outside and toilet facilities are not wheelchair accessible. Please don't let this be a deterrant to try this restaurant as you won't regret it. Bonus points if you bring a coat and see what they do with it. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anybody who appreciates a nice meal with friends and family.

Everything is just done really well. Attention to detail, simple, not overly fussy. Friendly efficient service. Smart but laid-back. We just popped in after meeting friends in Covent Garden. Smoked salmon starter, toasted crab sandwich. Got a table with no reservation. All good!

I went there today for a solo dinner. I got the salmon with a glass of white suggested by my waiter. Which went really well with the salmon. I definitely recommend this place. It had a nice ambience, for a nice meet up. Or dinner. Ps. Thank you Claire, (I’m guessing from the receipt) for being an angel and so nice. I really had a great experience

I was a bit disappointed with my recent experience. Out of the 6 oysters I had, half of them contained large shell fragments, which made it unpleasant to eat. Several of the clams also had noticeable sand inside, and when I got to the last one, it was slightly open — unfortunately it was filled with black sand. I was really looking forward to fresh seafood, but the quality this time was not what I expected.

Excellent seafood and fish dishes in interesting sauces, friendly service in a smart casual setting. We had clams and mussels as starters, and shared a whole turbot for our main - all were delicious.

Delivery Chinese restaurant
Nestled near Leicester Square tube station, Lanzhou Lamian Noodle Bar is a charming little eatery that captures the essence of authentic Chinese cuisine. This cozy spot is perfect for late-night cravings, staying open until 4:30am on weekends and 1:30am during the week.
Visited here recently and really enjoyed their spicy beef brisket noodles and their grilled chicken wings. Their hand pulled noodles were packed full of flavour and were definitely authentic. Great value for money and large portion sizes for what you pay for, which is always a plus in London. I highly recommend this dish because of the succulent beef diced slices and their noodles were flavourful and tasty. Their grilled chicken wings were really good to complement the dish and they have chilled water available for seated guests. Definitely worth visiting when in the area.

I never had my food as fast as in this restaurant. The food is good but you are getting a little bit pressured to get out as quick as possible. My plate was gone the second I put my chopsticks down. I get it because it is a small shop. You get very big portions in my opinion.
Sophie — Google review
Massive portions, quick service, and a 4/5 chinese food. We ordered two mix & match plates for 9£ each, a mince beef noodle soup which was 11£, 4 drinks and 3 spring rolls. Spring rolls were massive, crispy, and full of steamed vegetables, defo my fav. Beef mince soup was a little disappointing as i expected to have more flavour and spice. Sweet and spicy chicken in the mixnmatch plates was delicious. We paid a total 47£. Its a v small place so not much seating available. Outside tables had two chairs each and two stool benches which were not very comfortable.
F S — Google review
The food can be summarized in 2 words - no pride. It’s the worst tasting Chinese food I have tasted in a western country - I am not even comparing it to those that are in Asia. I have reviewed food I have eaten many times on google and unabashedly frank as I am - I wouldn’t even bother to say why exactly it’s bad for this review. I won’t because as there were no pride to dish out even mediocre standards hence I wouldn’t be wasting my time giving a critique of the food as I don’t think the restaurant cares. The service staff however was pretty polite - the only saving grace to an awful experience.

Mindblown! This place is all you need when in London. It is cheap, delicious and efficient. It is also situated in Camden town so not far from the touristy attractions. If you need a food break, come here! It’s always my go-to when I visit London.

Ordered two noodles soups. First one was delicious, stewed beef with thin noodles, it was just perfect, the noodles hand made and the beef tender and flavourfull. The second noodle soup - fried pork ribs with thin noodles almost tasteless, noodles were good but the pork overcooked & tasteless. Got also the vegetable spring rolls not great.

El Rancho De Lalo is a casual and welcoming restaurant in London that serves up authentic Colombian cuisine, including grilled meats and sandwiches. Visitors rave about the delicious and generous portions of food, with favorites like Bandeja Paisa and Chuleta de Pollo standing out. The atmosphere is described as warm and friendly, with a spacious layout, great music, and appealing decor. Customers appreciate the attentive service from Don Lalo himself, creating a homey feel for diners.
This was my introduction to Colombian food and it did not disappoint. It was good to see a queue of hispanic people since I knew we were in the right place. Any meat lovers, this is the place. Every item was amazing. And I would also recommend trying the empanadas here. The only thing I didn’t like was the arepa cause it was dry. I dipped it into the beans but I think it’s just not my thing.

A Taste of Colombia! Had a fantastic experience at this Colombian restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious—full of authentic flavors. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a lovely vibe that made the whole meal even more enjoyable. Service was friendly and attentive from start to finish. Absolutely amazing and authentic Colombian food. We came for lunch and it wasn't busy at first, but the restaurant soon filled up towards 2pm and the atmosphere was great. Felt like being in Latin America. The traditional Colombian breakfast a an absolute steal for the price and fills you up for the day. The bistec a caballo was also outstanding, even though I would've liked it cooked a bit more medium. The coffee was lovely as well.

Burmese restaurant

South Asian restaurant
Southeast Asian restaurant
Lahpet West End, a Burmese restaurant that was previously located in Bethnal Green, has now expanded to the vibrant West End of London. The menu offers a variety of plant-based small plates such as crunchy pickled tea salads, fritter platters, and noodle-laced curries. The range of flavors is extensive and includes options like sweetcorn and shallot fritters and marvellously mushy yellow pea paratha.
This was my first time trying Burmese food. Very highly recommend going to this restaurant. Burmese food, to me, is much more similar to Thai food than I thought. As Thai, I’m very familiar with the Thai cuisine, and many of the flavours of Burmese cuisine reminded me of it. There are certain types of meats and curries that are clearly influenced by India/Nepal, making this a very interesting cuisine. I most recommend the mutton curry - by far the best dish I’ve had, and I’ve tried a few dishes at this place. The second meal I would recommend is the Mohinga, which is a national dish and similar to a Malaysian Laksa + Vietnamese vermicelli noodles. Food gets delivered super quick ~5-10 minutes. Staff are very friendly.
Patrick — Google review
I went to Laphet for dinner on 2025-07-22 (Tue) with my work colleagues, I mentioned it’s a business meal on the booking and the restaurant staff gave us plenty of space and privacy perhaps because of that, or just because it was a Tuesday night, either way I appreciated it. All of the dishes were tasty, but we particularly liked the tea leave salad, lots of flavour and textures. The king prawn in the curry was also pretty meaty and big.
Gary — Google review
I thought I knew Southeast Asian food. Who isn't familiar with a good Thai, Vietnamese Malaysian or Indonesian? But Lahpet's Burmese puts Myanmar on the map. The dishes here are delicate, yet flavourful. It has the freshness of Vietnamese with its whimsical salads, acidity and playful spiciness of Thai and the rich curries of Sumatra, Indonesia. That fish curry was decadent, and the tofu was delightful. Lahpet has invited me to learn more about Burmese culture cooking. And isn't that what it's all about? Shall be back for more.
Sani A — Google review
No food quite evokes a memory like one from your childhood. My mom grew up in Burma/Myanmar and as a result we grew up with the richness of Burmese cuisine. Therefore, it was a pleasure to relive childhood memories at Lahpet. The food is authentic, the service is accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere is the lovely surroundings of Covent Gardens. I had the Tea Leaf Salad and the pandan creme brûlée. Both amazing. My only regret is not having enough space to try more. I will be back here next time I am in London.
Ambreen A — Google review
A must visit for our family when we come to London. Stumbled upon this place accidentally and were intrigued by Burmese food. The place didn’t disappoint. The flavours are there, nothing to add in terms of seasoning. Playing is beautiful as well. They have good lunch deals Monday to Friday, with 17£ for a salad plus main. My personal recommendation is ginger salad , tofu fritters and coconut noodles. Deserts are also delicious. Try pandan creme brûlée.
Krisztina V — Google review
We were early for our res but they sat us at a lovely table upstairs right away! The staff were wonderful and never hovered over the table, quick check backs which was perfect for our date night! The food... Wow what can I say, absolutely incredible and fresh! We went for the ginger salad which was a refreshing way to start the meal and then the masala hake which was tangy and earthy with the cassava rosti then the fillet of beef which was sweet and comforting! Can't recommend enough!
Emily D — Google review
Popped in for a quick lunch and this place was absolutely delicious. Had lunchtime deal of main and starter for £17. The ginger salad was delicious - tangy, crunchy, heat - all bases covered flavour wise. One of the best salads I’ve eaten in a long time. Main course was the mutton curry - it was extremely good. The meat melted in your mouth and strong flavour of tamarind. Warming, hearty and meaty. Everything my table ordered was enjoyed. Will be back to try other parts of the menu as it all looks delicious. 😎
Henry R — Google review
Absolutely delightful dinner at Lahpet before seeing a show nearby. We had never had Burmese food and it was an amazing introduction. We got the tea leaf salad, yellow pea paratha, grilled aubergine, shan rice with sea bass, tofu nway, seasonal greens, and black sticky rice & jaggery pudding, and we enjoyed every bite. The flavors were complex and surprising. It was a good amount of food for three people. Our party was pescatarian and we didn’t feel limited at all. We sat on the second floor balcony and it was a really nice location to enjoy the warm weather but be a little removed from the hustle and bustle.

Singburi is a family-run Thai restaurant located in London, specifically in the E11 area. It has gained a reputation as one of the best Thai restaurants in the city. The restaurant has a simple, kitchen-like ambiance and operates on a bring-your-own drinks policy. Despite its small size, it offers authentic Thai dishes such as pad Thai, fishcakes, and massaman curry.
We randomly got coffee near by and wanted to check out this restaurant. They have daily menu thai food in a nice setting. We didn’t have a reservation and were lucky to sit by the bar in front of the chefs so we can see all the actions. The girl who works the woks really knows what she is doing and so does the grill master. We love the sausage and the grilled pork belly curry - everything is so tasty. The waitress who helped us is chill and not pushy as all. We had a nice time here :). Thank you!!

Singburi has brought its legendary Thai flavours to Shoreditch and absolutely delivers. The smoked pork belly (nam dtok) and wild ginger chicken are knockout dishes, juicy and full of authentic spice. The vibe is cool yet welcoming with its remarkable hospitality. Great cocktails and a smart wine list to match all dishes. A cult classic reborn and is better than ever. Highly recommend!!!
Haris G — Google review
Hate when a restaurant doesn’t live up to the hype, and sadly this was one of them. I’d been waiting a long time to finally indulge here since their original location days, but I don’t think I’ll be coming back. Not sure what everyone else was talking about, but the service was probably the saving grace. The food was mediocre at best, and while I think they were going for that Bangkok café vibe, the décor and overall look just didn’t quite land. I really wanted to love it, but it turned out to be more of a once and done experience.
Darsha D — Google review
Disappointing. I came here for a quick lunch, for one person, so maybe that’s why I feel Singburi really missed the mark, but just ordered one dish which was the clams and the portion for the money is really small. I could literally put all the clams from the entire dish on one desert spoon. Clams plus rice and service charge came to £21.94. The flavour was good, but I think coming here you need to order a lot of food. Service was fine and the environment was also fine. It was lunchtime so maybe not the best time of day to come.
Roger F — Google review
nothing was terrible, but overall nothing to shout about. Was super excited to come and try the hipe. The smoked tomato salad was tasty but had zero smoke flavour. Pork kra prao was lacking any crispyness expected from the wok, there was so much in the wok when being cooked it was surprising. No sauce on the plate either, just meh. Prawn and cucumber curry was ok, hot cucumbers was just weird. Kohl rabi salad fantastic, beer great, cocktails ok. Wont be rushing back, unfortunately smoking goat tastes and feels far superior
Diego R — Google review
We had never been to the original Singburi so unable to compare, but thought the food and service was outstanding! Our favourite was the beef Penang curry - it tasted unlike any Thai or Malaysian curry I’ve ever had and I loved it. All dishes were quite spicy, but we appreciated the commitment to delivering authentic flavours and not toning them down for the British palate. Plates are on the smaller side so get 2-3 per person, but the bill still came out to about £40 pp without drinks, so not at all bad for central London. Can’t wait to go back!
Emily C — Google review
Finally made it to Singburi 2.0. The most authentic Thai food in London? Quite possibly. All the dishes were well spiced and tasty, with some quality produce. Service was friendly and the dining room had a decent vibe. We will be back again. Very soon.
Matthew M — Google review
Excellent meal. I was a bit nervous after all the poor reviews but had nothing to worry about. I assume the reviewers were OGs comparing Singburi 2.0 to the original. The food was superb with no weak dishes - highlights were the sausage, the chicken thigh, the strawberry and watermelon salad, the halibut and the smoked pork belly ( most of the dishes). Good portion sizes. I also recommend the Paloma cocktail.

Deli
Tongue & Brisket is a casual comfort-food cafe with a rich family tradition of pickled salt beef. Located in Soho, it is the sister restaurant to the renowned B&K Salt Beef Bar in Edgware. The menu features their signature sandwich, made with moist salt beef, tangy pickle, sauerkraut, and mustard on caraway seed-flecked rye bread.
I stumbled upon this Reuben sandwich in the heart of London, and it was a flavor-packed surprise. The bread was fresh and slightly chewy, perfectly holding together the generous layers of tender, juicy beef. The meat had that deep, savory flavor you expect from a deli classic, balanced by the tang of sauerkraut and the creaminess of the dressing. Paired with a tropical Fanta, the salty and sweet contrast made each bite even more satisfying. It’s hearty, indulgent, and perfect if you’re craving a taste of New York in London.
Cookie Y — Google review
My family popped into this casual eatery for dinner as the salt beef looked good through the window. I have to credit the friendly service we received, but food was just alright (soggy fries and dry turkey meat). The worst part was that 4 out of 7 of us had upset tummies that night. They were the ones who ate salad from here that evening. Hopefully the food standard and safety can be improved for future diners.

This place is already a 5 star on its own, but Hafiz and Allister just doubled the experience. Food’s amazing — beef brisket is soft and you can ask if you prefer leaner or fatter cuts.. it’s served warm.. u can’t even imagine beef bagels can taste like this. It’s divine. And service by hafiz and allister always make the visit a joy! I’ve been here a year and come an average of once a month. Damn tasty salt beef Reuben. One of the best darn sandwiches we’ve ever had, according to me and my wife who is the sandwich queen. Owner Jon made our sandwich to share one day and we went back the next day for another because it was that delicious. Lovely people, killer food, bread is fresh & soft, sauerkraut was epic & the pickles & homemade mustard & thousand add to the flavor. I almost don’t want to post a review because more people will find out about this gem!

Hoa Sen Vietnamese Street Food Restaurant is a cozy spot in Covent Garden, offering hearty Vietnamese classics with an understated ambiance. Despite being located in central London, it competes with the best Vietnamese restaurants in the city. The menu features Mama Hai's unique take on Vietnamese cuisine, focusing on classic dishes like Pho, Bun, and Banh Mi made from scratch.
Delicious, authentic Vietnamese food! The BBQ Pork vermicelli bowl was fresh and hearty with crispy spring rolls and tender grilled meat. The steam rice roll and crispy spring rolls were tasty and well-seasoned, paired perfectly with their dipping sauce. Highly recommend for a satisfying Vietnamese meal!

Food is good, staff is attentive and service is good. It is recommended to have a pre theatre dinner especially it is just opposite to Gillian Lynne, no rush just enough time. This restaurant is not spacious and quite close to each other, I don’t think you would stay long. I still would like to revisit for the food
S E — Google review
I discovered this cozy, little restaurant on a recent trip to London covent garden as my hotel, St Giles was merely ten mins walk from this restaurant and the British Museum. As the restaurant was relatively full at ca. 19:00pm tonight, I requested to order from the doorway ‘to go’. The waitress seated my son and I, at the cozy outdoor seating area after advising us regarding our order. She even brought the card reader outside so I didn’t have to struggle with the door/ the pram, etc. I ordered a duck dish with rice, salad and vermicelli noodles & a sauce on the side. Refreshing, filling, healthy and authentic. Nothing left to desire, a solid 10/10. A perfect meal to end a perfect day!
Mira G — Google review
The overall taste here is among the best I’ve had in Vietnamese restaurants — really impressive. However, I was a little disappointed that the Pho soup was only warm rather than hot, which is usually expected in Asian cuisine. The broth also felt a bit light in beef flavour. The spring rolls were fine, though the texture was slightly harder than my preference. As for the service, it could be a bit warmer and more welcoming. With some small improvements in these areas, I’m sure this place could easily become a solid five-star experience.
Barista O — Google review
The rice noodles/wraps are super fresh, they are soft but chewy. Not the usual (dry then boiled) noodles you’d see in most Vietnamese restaurants. The pork & mushrooms wraps taste amazing, the intrinsic character of each ingredient is well presented, and their combination is nicely balanced.
Jiacheng L — Google review
Amazing customer service. Waitresses very attentive, friendly and fast. Not long wait for drinks or food. Great atmosphere, not loud music. Great starters options and very tasty. Great selection of drinks. I would don't say the food is authentic Vietnamese taste but it's tasty. Clean, fresh smell and great condition toilets.
Lucie K — Google review
Decent prices and selection of food, staff are great and the place is lovely. Really enjoyed the grilled beef in betel leaves and duck summer rolls, but wasn't very impressed with the quality of the beef in the pho, and broth wasn't as flavoursome as I would have hoped for, otherwise this would have been 5 stars
Taylan C — Google review
Maybe I didn’t make the right choice with those beef noodles, it didn’t really feel like authentic Vietnamese cuisine. I didn’t find the flavour of the dish outstanding; it was more of an average dish overall. However, the service was very efficient, the team was nice, and the restaurant was clean.

Борщ И Слёзы - Отличный ресторан! This lovely intimate restaurant exceeded my expectations. The staff, clientele and ambiance was so charming. The décor and music created a really fantastically authentic experience. The food was delicious you MUST experience it for yourself. The борщ 👌 is my new favourite food and the Khachapuri sides were also delicious. The choice of vodka too with great pickles - another must. A personal highlight was being able to try out my paltry Russian in small exchanges with the staff. I just wish I'd been there a little later on so as to experience the karaoke 🎤🪆. Очень хорошо ресторан. не упустите. Can't wait to go again.

I enjoyed my experience. The food was great, the personnel attentive and kind, they had fresh flowers on each table, which shows the care they put. I am surprised to read some negative reviews, as I did not find any of those comments in my experience.

Old school Russian atmosphere, great ambience with live music on Sat (could be other days too). Nostalgic, cozy and warm! Our host was very knowledgeable about the food, ingredients and taste. The home infused vodkas were the best! Lost count of how many I had! Fortunately wasn’t driving! The bonus were the two labs the owner had!

Van Hing, a local Vietnamese eatery, offers reasonably priced dishes and generous portion sizes. This hidden gem is known for its astounding cuisine, which can only be paid for with cash.
A local authentic and totally unpretentious Vietnamese Chinese restaurant that always delivers. Don’t expect anything fancy but if you are in Camberwell and up for an Asian fix then this family run restaurant will tick all your boxes. I had a delicious fried rice with duck for £9.50. Great value for a plate of food that is cooked with love. 5 stars for me

Great tasting, freshly made Chinese food. Those who have been following me know that I don't give 5 star reviews but this is a gem in Camberwell. I will take my wife there when she gets back. Staff is very friendly. My uncle and I had 5 kettles of their chinese tea. Very very good tea I must say.

This place is lovely! The food is so tatsy I felt so much comfort eating here, I really can't fault the tatse and portions. Look good too little slow but I actually like they cook the food well. However for me personally because I have sensory issues it can get a little overwhelming loud ect, esp if there's a dinner party, but that's nothing to some. The staff are friendly and efficient, had no issues here.

A very nice place to eat out! We went there on a Wednesday Evening without reservation and still got a table. The food is really good and the prices are definitely worth it! I would recommend this restaurant!

You'd have a hard time finding better value for Vietnamese/Chinese cuisine in London than here. The crispy battered prawns were incredible—I ate the whole thing, shell included (normally I leave this out!). The fried rice was perfectly seasoned and textured. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately I did not enjoy my dinner. I ordered a noodle soup that weirdly tasted like dill. Very strange for a Vietnamese dish. I had to add lots of chilli and hoisin sauce in order to give some flavour to the broth. I ended up just eating some of the noodles. I did not like the chicken satay skewers. The chicken was ok but the sauce I don't know what it was, it was definitely not satay.

I tried some new dishes that were absolutely delicious—bursting with flavor and definitely worth coming back for. The service was incredible, with staff radiating positivity that made the meal even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was buzzing with energy, creating the perfect vibe. Can’t wait to return!

Malaysian restaurant
Restaurant
Sambal Shiok Laksa Bar is a beloved Malaysian restaurant in North London, known for its award-winning laksa and flavorful dishes. Chef Mandy Yin's signature bowls of spicy broth with rice noodles and tofu puffs are simply divine, while the gado gado salad and Malaysian fried chicken add to the culinary experience. The restaurant offers ample space to enjoy these delectable dishes on Holloway Road's wide pavement.
We popped in for an early dinner mid week and even at 6.15 the place was bustling. Welcoming staff. Incredible fried chicken - the subtleties of the flavour on the coating were spot on, with a delicious peanut sauce on the side. Perfect for 2 to share as a starter. Then we both had the Laksa. I went for the signature chicken with a soft boiled egg - the hot version with extra coconut milk to pour in to taste was the perfect amount of heat for me. It was an incredibly tasty, warming and thick broth with generous amount of chicken. Like a hug and a bowl - one of those dishes that feels full of goodness. Was my first time eating here since they opened, and I definitely need to not leave it so long next time! Thank you
Kate M — Google review
The coconut rice, fried chicken along with the chilli and peanut sauce were nice! The non - alcoholic was drinkable. The laksa was ok., but not as it should be...nice owner and staff who do a nice job. The highlight was our pud really full marks for this🥳

We were very excited to go to Sambal Shiok especially because of their famous fried chicken with satay sauce. One member of the family ( 11 years ) recently became a vegetarian but was craving a simular dish with the peanut sauce. The staff decided to cook a deepfried cauliflower served with the amazing sauce and rice. One incredibly happy customer. « Best food I ever had, they should add this to the menu»
Kenneth I — Google review
Vegan laksa was delicious! I chose hot so it was spicy, but you can always ask for coconut milk if you need to, and they have a mild option if wanted. Others got the fried chicken and said it was really tasty. All other laksas also amazing. Came to £30/pp for 1 starter, 4 mains and 4 drinks (3 alcoholic). Vibe is relaxed and friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Meg S — Google review
I was really excited to try Sambal Shiok but was a tad disappointed. It was good but not great and rather expensive. Wine was exorbitant. A bottle of the house red was 45 quid. It is a small place with American diner furniture where being seated at the bar is popular. Tables are quite close together. Atmosphere is of a convivial neighbourhood hangout. I ordered nasi lemak with beef rendang. It came with plain cucumber slices, a fantastic homemade sambal, garnishes of peanuts and fried anchovy and coconut rice which was happily not too rich. The rendang was not too spicy if you avoided the raw chilli garnish, and a good balance of sweet and savoury. The beef was very tender, and neither too dry nor swimming in curry sauce. Nice. They charged me £2.75 for a little extra sambal. A small side of aubergine (meant to top up a portion of the vegan laksa) was good value at £3.60 and tasty, if somewhat greasy. My companion had the chicken laksa in the mild broth. I didn't like the broth at all. Sickly rich with coconut cream and peanut butter and too sweet for my taste. I guess I prefer a Singaporean laksa over a Malaysian one, with a tarter, lighter, saltier broth. My preference is for a laksa broth that has a little funk of fish sauce or fermented shrimp paste. Maybe I would have liked the default spicy broth better. I believe the mild version is made by adding extra coconut milk. Service was personable and very knowledgeable. Our rather simple dinner was £106. I will return because I want to try the gado gado and fried chicken. But there must be better priced places to get a good laksa and nasi lemak.
Alice G — Google review
The spicy one is so good! And so is the mild one with that sweet coconut milk flavour. My only comment is that there is a sign outside saying "please wait to be seated," but then you wait there and no one approaches you nor tells you anything, despite the waiters passing right next to you. You have have to walk in and talk to them there. They are very nice and attentive otherwise! But why to have a sign like that outside, it's a bit confusing.

Sambal Shiok Laksa Bar — A Burst of Malaysia in Every Bowl Sambal Shiok is more than a bar — it’s a flavour explosion. Specialising in Malaysian laksa, it delivers heat, depth, and comfort in every spoonful. The space is compact, the energy is warm, and the food? Unforgettable. Laksa that leads the charge: Signature chicken laksa — creamy coconut broth, fiery sambal, and tender chicken Prawn laksa — rich, aromatic, and full of umami Tofu & mushroom laksa — vegan, earthy, and deeply satisfying Noodles are springy, toppings generous, and the broth is pure magic Spice levels are adjustable — from gentle warmth to full-on fire Drinks include iced teas, tropical coolers, and Malaysian-inspired cocktails The vibe is casual but buzzing — colourful décor, communal tables, and a crowd that knows good food .Staff are friendly, fast, and full of knowledge — happy to guide you through the menu or dial in your perfect heat level
Karla W — Google review
Their food was decent overall. I ordered the Malaysian fried chicken and the Curry Laksa (Hot) with prawns and chicken. The fried chicken had good flavor and paired well with the satay sauce, but it lacked the crispiness I expected. Instead of being crunchy, it was soft, which was a letdown for a dish labeled as “fried” chicken. The Curry Laksa was disappointing. The prawns were initially undercooked, and while they were fine after being sent back, the chicken and vegetables had become overcooked and rubbery. The broth was okay but not as rich or flavorful as I had hoped. My mum had the mild tofu version, which was incredibly creamy, rich, and delicious. In comparison, the hot version fell short—likely because they had to reduce the creaminess to maintain its spiciness. That trade-off makes sense, but it wasn’t something I had anticipated. For three laksas and one fried chicken, the bill came to just over £80, which felt overpriced for what we received. Given the inconsistency in execution—like the lack of crispiness in the fried chicken and the issues with the laksa—it didn’t feel like great value for money.

Rasa Sayang Restaurant is a traditional Malaysian eatery located on the edge of Chinatown in London. The restaurant offers spicy halal Malaysian dishes cooked in a wok, Chinese-style. Its iconic hot fuschia chairs and pale pink washed walls make it easily recognizable.
Best Malaysian food in town From the queue outside the restaurant at dinner time, you know it has to be good. True to that, we were not disappointed and came back again and again to try different dishes. Though we waited 8-9min for a table at dinner time, the turnover was very quick. We were in and out in about 30min. No queue at lunch. All staff were friendly and attentive. Frequently checked in if all is well. When we were queuing, staff also came out frequently to ensure managing expectation and update on estimated wait time. He told us roughly 20min but we got a table (by window) within 10. Satay, nasi lemak, Singapore chili prawn with deep fried buns, beef rendang, coconut rice, roti, teh tarik. Every dish was authentic and delicious as it should!!

Stumbled into this restaurant on a busy sat night, didnt have much expectations as the place was filled. But to my surprise, i was really impressed! Silad, the manager, was friendly and welcoming. The server, Tammy, too was a pleasure to be served by. The food came out within 10 minutes of us ordering and everything was exquisite! Especially the Laksa and Ribeye Hor Fun. The food brought us back home, absolutely comforting. 10/10 for everything and everyone. Would definitely recommend for anyone craving a slice of home!

We had a pleasant experience at Rasa Sayang. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered the Kon Lee Mee with Hainanese chicken and the beef rendang with egg fried rice. Very delicious meal. Would deffo come back and try other items on the menu!

this was my second visit to rasa sayang, and i think it’s a really nice restaurant. great range on the menu, and all the meals feel very nostalgic to me. nothing beats malaysian cuisine actually in malaysia, but i think rasa sayang comes pretty close to that feel. i ordered the roti canai with chicken curry. absolutely HUGE portion of curry, so much so that i felt that the roti was a bit lacking. very yummy and flaky, but definitely not enough to eat up all the curry with. quite spicy, so if you don’t have much experience with spice i wouldn’t recommend. i like spice and i was fine with it, but my friend is slightly sensitive and thought it was a bit much. my friend ordered the hainanese chicken rice, which is another favourite of mine, and it was pretty good. not a huge fan of the rice here but that’s just personal preference not the rice being objectively bad or anything lol. we both got teh tarik, which was lovely considering the colder weather now, and the sweetness helped me with the curry spice haha. seating wise, we got put down in the basement and i found that it can be quite easy to be missed. this happened last time i came, and it took quite a while for us to flag down a waiter, but nothing egregious, just something to consider if you’re hungry. overall a very nice meal that brought back some childhood memories at a reasonable price (for london)!

I LOVE this restaurant and am a regular here. The food is great, the staff are all wonderful and it’s all halal too which makes life so much easier. The beef rendang actually transformed my perception of curry - I didn’t even know curry could be made like that! The seafood dishes are amazing and the chilli sauce they give you with the rolls and snacks is 😘👌. There are also Muslim waiters like Mohammed who served us last time - they’re all super friendly, and really accommodating. Also - THE FOOD COMES REALLY FAST. I’ve never had to wait over ten minutes (and tbh most times the food came in five).

Just visited this Singaporean restaurant in Chinatown for the first time, and I really liked it! To be honest, I think it’s better than Singapulah, which is just across the street. My favourite dish was the seafood war tan hor — similar to Hong Kong–style dry-fried rice noodles, but with a seafood-based gravy. It was really generous with ingredients (prawns, squid, and scallops), with a silky texture and a smoky flavour👍 If you’re into laksa, theirs is also quite tasty, though my boyfriend felt it was missing some of the coconut fragrance he’s had elsewhere. Lastly, if you’d like to try some special drinks, they also serve kopi-C (coffee with milk) and iced grass jelly. On the menu it’s listed as “Soya Milk with Cincau” — it took us a while to find it after seeing other customers order it 😂. Total: ~£54 for 2 people (including 10% service charge).

Good Food . Service slightly rushed. Friend and I went here on a Saturday about 3.30pm Was very busy but we got a table straight away. Food was very tasty but it came out in parts. First my friends meal came out. Then about 5 mins later my meal came out, then another 5 mins later our Chicken popcorn starter came out. Also waiters wanted to take my plate away couple of times before I actually finished so whole experience felt a bit rushed.

I ordered the Spicy Chicken Curry with egg fried rice, along with the Shrimp Mee Goreng - both dishes were halal and fantastic. The curry had just the right level of heat, rich flavor, and tender chicken, perfectly complemented by the egg and fluffy rice. The Mee Goreng was equally delicious, full of smoky wok flavor and generous with the shrimp. The service was quick, attentive, and friendly.

Dumplings' Legend is a Chinese restaurant with a minimalist dining room where chefs prepare pan-Asian influenced dumplings behind a glass screen. The owner, Geoff Leong, also runs Leongs Legend nearby. The restaurant offers Taiwanese street food and specializes in Shanghai soup dumplings called xiaolongbao, which are made in full view of the diners.
Lovely restaurant, all of them took extra care of our 1.5 u daughter ❤️. Dumplings very good, don't miss out on steamed egg with scallops and truffle. They give a generous amount of scallop and truffle. Also the hac gao, crystal prawn large dumplings has about 10 prawns inside :o our daughter loved it and so did we.

Absolutely loved my experience at Dumplings’ Legend in Chinatown! Yes, there’s a minimum order of £15 per person, but honestly—it’s worth every penny. The food is really, really good—fresh, flavourful, and satisfying. I especially loved the chicken dumplings (so juicy!) and the salt and pepper tofu—crispy, perfectly seasoned, and just yummy. What truly stood out to me was their hygiene and service standards. The staff are attentive and polite, and the place is spotless. My favourite detail? After each customer leaves, they replace the entire table mat—a thick tissue-paper-style cover—so every new guest gets a clean, fresh setup. No sticky tables or crumbs left behind. It shows how much they care about cleanliness, and it really adds to the experience. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for quality dumplings and a tidy, welcoming vibe in the heart of London!

In China town. Very fast service, and good quality. They have a great range of food. Clean, hygienic and tidy. Seating was comfortable and we weren't rushed to order or eat. Very refreshing for Chinatown generally. We left at midnight and people were still coming in!

So I went here after midnight. This place was one of a few options. The atmosphere was okay, it was busy, but service was fast. Food was served quickly. Staffs were friendly and quick to respond. However, the food was bad. This was subjectively the worst salt and pepper chicken I’ve ever had. It’s a bit too salty, and the chicken was a bit floury. The chicken curry was so salty that I couldn’t finish it even tho I almost finished my rice. There were pieces of cold children as well…

Behind the glass, chefs at Dumpling Legend move in perfect rhythm , folding and sealing each dumpling with swift precision amid towers of bamboo steamers. The aroma of freshly steamed dim sum fills the air, proving the restaurant truly lives up to its name. The roast duck was unforgettable , crisp, golden skin with tender, juicy meat and a sweet five-spice glaze that lingered beautifully. The service was equally impressive; our waiter, Jayden, attended to us with warmth and efficiency, making the experience all the more enjoyable. Not a place to miss if you crave dim sum and duck whilst in Gerard Street,Soho, London.
Rudy L — Google review
Very big restaurant, very noisy on Saturday evening, fried dumplings were not fresh and rubbery, dim sum lacked much flavor and meat (was more skin than meat overall). Won't go back and don't recommend at all. Very rude staff, tried refusing to remove discretionary service charge when told that food is not the best (waiters started arguing and refused to listen to feedback).

I am a vegetarian and finding something to eat in Chinatown can be difficult. This place doesn't offer a huge range but I had stir-fried noodles with vegetables and steamed vegetable dumplings. The dumplings were quite good! The portion size of the noodles was alot but I found it to be a little too oily and flavourless.

Wong Kei is a bustling multi-level restaurant located on the outskirts of London's Chinatown. Once infamous for its brusque service, the establishment has since improved in this aspect. Despite the noisy and chaotic atmosphere, patrons are drawn to the delicious and reasonably priced Cantonese cuisine. The extensive menu may be overwhelming, but diners are encouraged to explore the back section for hearty and satisfying dishes.
I’ve been here multiple times and I have to say that I’ve always enjoyed coming back here each time. The food is really good, and meats are really tender and enjoyable. There is also a wide variety of choices for people who choose from which is enjoyable with a larger group of people. They also offer jasmine tea for free when sat down at the table, which is quite nice as well. Staff are quite nice as well, I can’t say I’ve had a bad experience with any person who has worked there. Tables and bathrooms are clean as well.

Great food, huge portions and very reasonably priced for the location. My partner is from HK and loves how authentic the dining experience there is. Knocked down a star as they gave me a glass that had a crack in it so my water spilled over our table. The glass also had a distinct smell of bleach so I wasn’t going to drink from it.
L T — Google review
I've been coming to Wong Kei's for over 33 years, and can safely say that it is a family favourite! The food is always delicious, with our favourites being Brisket Beef Noodle Soup, Won Ton Noodle Soup, Char Siu BBQ Pork, Roast Belly of Pork, BBQ Spare Ribs, Sesame Prawn Toast, Beef Ho Fun (dry), and Crispy Noodles with Mixed Seafood. In fact, you absolutely can't go wrong with any BBQ meat with either rice or in a noodle soup. I've always found the staff friendly, helpful, and efficient. As a Londoner, I'm always in a rush. I know that with Won Kei's, I can walk in on my own, be seated downstairs, order a bowl of noodle soup, and have it in front of me all within 5 minutes. I can eat and be out in under 30 minutes and be on my way. Perfect for if you're on a work lunch break. That is definitely fast food. However, if you're there with a group, they'll seat you upstairs where you can take your time, order many dishes & drinks, have good conversation, and spend a couple of hours eating & drinking. Whether it's a quick bite whist out shopping in the West End, a quick lunch break, a post theatre meal, or a birthday celebration with family, we always head to Wong Kei's when in the area. We even use them for take-away. I always pick up a couple of portions of Char Siu BBQ Pork (uncut) to take-away keep in the freezer for emergency dinners as it's my boys favourite meal. I will also sometimes travel from Holloway Road to Leicester Square and back again, just to pick up a take-away order of noodle soup when for me and my husband when we're craving it for our lunch at work. I can get there and back, and eat it, all in under an hour. If you're looking for good, reasonably priced Chinese food when near Chinatown, or the West End in general, I would highly recommend heading to Wong Kei's. Just remember, it's Cash only!

Reasonable price for quality food. Roast duck noodle is our favourite. It's a shame there's no vegetable leaves in the soup anymore, you get a decent amount of meat only.
H D — Google review
I was honestly shocked the moment I stepped inside and experienced the service. The attitude of the staff was unbelievably poor — something I hadn’t anticipated until I looked back at the reviews. This was, without a doubt, the worst dining experience I’ve ever had in Chinatown. If you’re curious to test your patience, this place will certainly challenge it. From the moment I arrived to the moment I paid, it was a display of rudeness and apathy. I even took photos of two of the staff members to document the behavior. What surprised me most was the attitude of the elderly lady at the counter during payment. Her demeanor made it crystal clear where the toxic service culture stems from — it’s a top-down issue. The poor attitude trickles from the older staff to the younger ones, setting a tone of disrespect and indifference across the entire team. Avoid this place unless you’re prepared to have your patience tested to the limit.
Jeremy T — Google review
Would definitely recommend eating here! The food was delicious. Need to go back to try other plates.
Camilla C — Google review
Been eating here for 45 years since it moved from the blue post Alley in the early 80s. The food remains IDENTICAL. How do they do it? On a menue this big. It's always good too. Good portions too. The rice dishes and the noodle dishes are meals in themself. Their table chilli oil is the best too. So the service ain't great but it's better and polite than it used to be. T TV the decor is no frills but one goes for the food. And still great value. Best Chinese in London for authentic HK food.
Francis W — Google review
Wong Kei is a hallmark restaurant of Chinatown, famous for their great value Cantonese food and notorious for their rude staff. My family have been coming for at least a decade and it is hands down one of my favourite restaurants in Chinatown and perhaps all of London. Every single dish is delicious, packed with flavour, and comes in a generous portion. Their cold meats on hot rice with BBQ sauce is a classic and an excellent way to try their char siu, pork belly, and duck all in one dish. Their black bean sauce is out of this world. I’ve had this with their steamed sea bass and their fried beef - both of which were succulent, tender, and delicious. One of my favourite dishes is their fried pork chop in chilli and salt. Juicy, crispy, and just amazing. Their noodles are great too. Ho fun is a classic and theirs is great. Have also had their Singapore fried noodle which is delicious. Another classic dish from them is their wonton noodle soup which is also good. Basically, every dish is a safe bet. Their service may not be the most polite, but what they lack in manners they make up for in extreme efficiency. Seating is quick, food comes out very quickly, and payment is also quick. For those looking for a long meal to chat with friends this may not be best for that. They are also cash only but have no service charge. Also free Chinese tea for all guests. Overall, for a fully satisfying experience and a 100% recommend.

St. John is a renowned restaurant located in a whitewashed ex-smokehouse, where Fergus Henderson gained fame for his offal dishes. The bar at St. John is dog-friendly and even offers bone marrow treats for furry companions. The menu features simple British cuisine, including the legendary bone marrow and parsley salad, cold roast pork with dandelion and shallots, cheese and chutney sandwiches, hot-cross buns, and Eccles cakes.
Perfect for people who want good cooking with adventurous options! Got a drink at the bar as I arrived a little early, house wine was great. Our waitress was wonderful, and spent extra time recommending dishes for us. I got the Pig and Ox Liver, both of which were amazing. The madeleines cannot be missed, I would go for them over a regular dessert. Easy recommendation, get a reservation early!

What a special restaurant! Really enjoyed the inventive British menu, every dish was unique and thoughtful, without being pretentious. Fun to try some more unusual cuts of meat. Great drinks list and the bread pudding dessert was incredible. Service was extremely thoughtful and attentive, and helpful with dietaries. Wonderful experience and I look forward to our next visit!

This is by far the best British restaurant I’ve ever had in my whole life. I’ve come to UK for two weeks and nothing of what I’ve tried so far can be compared to this restaurant. From the starters, to the mains, to the desserts. It’s just “mmm” 🥰😘. So good, so delicious! Glad that I came here during my time in the UK. Would love to pay this place a visit again 🙏

This is unpretentious excellence. In a world where TikTok hype drives crowds, St. John just focuses on doing things right (boring done right). It is a classic British spot, known for its nose-to-tail approach. Service was polite and professional without being fussy. We never felt rushed and never felt ignored. The fish of the day was excellent, and of course we had the bone marrow on toast, which was worth the visit on its own. Flavours are not experimental, but the quality and freshness make everything great. I had the pigeon, which I really enjoyed, although the meat is firmer and the flavour stronger than other meats, so it may not be for everyone. Right outside is a more casual bar with a lighter atmosphere where you can have a drink and snack on excellent food without spending much.

St John is quite the culinary institution where offal is concerned. The food presentation is unpretentious and fuss-free, and the flavour comes through. Not for everyone, but definitely interesting for the adventurous amongst us. There was a bit of a long gap between appetizers and main course, which dimmed the experience slightly. Overall, St John is a must-try for the foodies.

Was drawn here after hearing this is many a persons favorite restaurant, including Anthony Bourdain. My criteria for a great restaurant are few: delicious, attentive service, and most importantly, creative flavors I can’t or haven’t easily replicated at home. St. John meets all of these. I particularly appreciate the ethos behind the ingredients, the personable service (shout out to June!) , and the unpretentious ambiance. It’s a bit ironic coming from someone who was once vegan. For fun, I’m gonna give a dumbed down explanation of what I tried. (I’m American, so I’m allowed to be dumb.) Bread: unusually good, nicely chewy Pickled herring: quite well done, not too fishy. It’s toast with fish, sauce, and pickled stuff. Eat the top slice of fish separately because you can’t fit it all in your mouth. Terrine: gamey, which I like. Like a square cold salami. Roast bone marrow: the classic. Fun to eat. Marrow has a subtle flavor. Don’t expect the intense flavor of cabeza. Roast middle white: very good. Like a pork steak, with crispy skin on outer edge. Prune sauce was pleasant. Ox tongue with beet: pleasantly salty, the roast middle white is more substantial. This was two thin slices. Madeleines: divine. I got these with a cup of milk and it was fantastic. Now, were any of these dishes so delectable that I’d come back just for one of them? The madeleines, yes. The bakery is phenomenal—I’d go more dessert heavy next time.

Laidback environment with a no-frills serving style, but the quality of everything plated is impressive. Whether you want to try something different or elect for a comfortable classic, you won’t be disappointed. Do not leave before ordering the madelines, as they’ve perfected them. We had an excellent experience and would return!

Very much enjoyed this visit. The room had a great vibe. The service is very friendly, and the food was fantastic. We had a large group and had almost one of everything and it was all good. Some weird stuff like chicken neck and lamb liver but all of was excellent. The smell and taste of the fresh Madeleines at the end were simply awesome. I will be back on future London visits.

Ramen restaurant
Tonkotsu Soho is a cozy Japanese eatery with a warm ambiance, featuring wooden tables and traditional wall decor. The restaurant is renowned for its delectable ramen noodles, particularly the Hakata-style ramen made with rich pork stock. Founded by Ken and Emma, who shared a deep love for authentic Japanese cuisine, Tonkotsu was born out of their desire to bring top-quality ramen to London.
I recently visited Tonkotsu had the Tiger Prawn Ramen — absolutely delicious! The broth was rich and flavorful, the prawns perfectly cooked, and the noodles had just the right texture. The atmosphere was calm and authentic, with attentive service. If you want to sit outside, be prepared to wait around 30 minutes, but it’s worth it for the vibe. Highly recommend for ramen lovers! Let me know if you’d like a version for a social media caption too.

Came here late last year for a meal before going to the theatre. The restaurant is small and quite intimate which I liked. service was great and the server was able to advise on the food. The menu is not extensive which is nice as it doesn't give too many options to pick from and it also means that the quality of the dishes they make are more consistent. I had the mushroom ramen which isn't spicy and fairly simple flavours (I was advised this by the server). i still liked it and had the option to add chilli that was on the table Portions are good and very filling

We needed a lighter lunch to keep us going until dinner. We took Tonkotsu's lunch offer, which included ramen and gyoza, for £ 11.25, or £10 plus the service charge. It was delicious and the staff were friendly.

Nice place but I would prefer to have a bit more chicken and tofu in ramen and less noodles. Reservation is recommended

Soho Tonkatsu has quickly become one of my absolute favourite spots to eat. The food is always delicious – crispy, perfectly cooked tonkatsu with so much flavour, and the portions are really generous. Every time I’ve eaten here, it’s been consistently amazing, which is rare to find. What I love most is that it’s not expensive at all for the quality you get – it feels 100% worth the price and more. You get proper value for money without compromising on taste or presentation. The atmosphere is also a 10/10. It’s cosy, welcoming, and has such a nice vibe whether you’re going for a quick meal or sitting down to enjoy with friends. The staff are friendly and attentive, which just makes the experience even better.

Chinese restaurant
Imperial China is a renowned Cantonese restaurant located in London's Chinatown. This three-floor establishment offers an extensive menu of traditional dishes and a wide selection of dim sum, with a particular emphasis on seafood. The restaurant features private karaoke rooms and even houses its own carp pond, creating a unique dining experience. Visitors can indulge in a roast meat platter during the weekends, showcasing delectable options such as roast duck and barbecued pork.
Food was very good for a central London tourist area. Staff were very polite and cheerful. Place had a great atmosphere as it was quite busy. The entrance of the restaurant is beautiful with the statues and the bridge over the river. Restaurant was very clean and tidy. It was also very easy to get hold of a staff member if needed. They also removed used plates very quickly so the table was always clear if any clutter

This is one of my mate’s favourite Chinese restaurant he lives in central London so not far to walk. We stuck with a choice of Dim Sum which he ordered. The staff were very friendly and there was no pressure to hurry up. We even got a loyalty discount. Great place away from the street.

Loved the seafood dim sum platter, fresh, flavorful, and really enjoyable. We also tried the chicken noodles, which were just average. One small downside was a staff member who was oddly staring during our visit. Overall, the dim sums were tasty, but the prices felt a bit on the higher side.
Sanika C — Google review
Ridiculous that this has a rating below 4 at the time of writing - the food here is very enjoyable. Would recommend going in a bigger group if doing dim sum so you can try a variety of dishes. Everything I tried was very tasty and cooked well.

We have been coming to this restaurant on and off over the years. Last time we came I reserved judgment and thought I’d give them another go to see if they had improved. Unfortunately, they have gone pretty downhill. We ordered the salt and pepper squid which was over-battered and overcooked and chewy. The dry beef Hofun flavourless and the noodles still stuck together. The Szechwan chilli chicken had a funny tang and again overcooked and hard to the bite. The only passable dish was the bean curd stuffed with prawn paste although the prawn paste here was too fishy. Steamed rice was hard and cold. Overall a very disappointing meal, will not come here again.

Came here for a birthday celebration and also for our kids first proper Chinese meal. The food was really delicious! We usually order a hors d’oeuvre with ribs, seaweed, spring rolls and prawn toasts, then pork belly, sweet and sour chicken and crispy shredded chilly beef. The food was so good we had to order more ribs. Can’t wait to come again and try different dishes. Really recommend this place especially for a family lunch or dinner!

The food is fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented, with each dish showcasing authentic taste and attention to detail. What makes the experience even better is the service. The staff are attentive and courteous, and the manager takes the time to explain the menu with genuine enthusiasm and knowledge, offering thoughtful recommendations that make choosing a pleasure. Located in a great area, it’s easily accessible yet feels like a hidden gem. Very nice location. Good spot to stay before going to national gallery. They had a drink called orange Americano. I found this a funny combination and it worked out well. The pastries and not phenomenal, but pretty good. A good place to catch up with your friends.

Notes is a solid spot for a coffee break right in the bustling heart of London. The venue itself is stylish, with high ceilings and a welcoming vibe that works whether you're popping in for a quick coffee or lingering longer. While the beverages are good, the service can feel a bit slow. We only tried a matcha and a tea, but the overall charm of the place lies more in its ambiance than in standout drinks. If you’re in the area and don’t mind a slight wait, it’s worth visiting to soak in the relaxed yet refined setting. It’s a cozy retreat amidst the tourist rush of Trafalgar Square. I’d give it a 4/5 for the overall experience.

Missed breakfast and wanted brunch. They do an all day brunch. There is a table for 8 and tables for 2 that are side by side to accommodate 12. There is a selection of hot chocolate from 32-82%. The juice is cold pressed. Quiet background music to facilitate conversation. A casual relaxed vibe. Scrambled eggs overcooked, no butter on the bread and no hollandaise.

Disappointed. The service was poor and the skinny iced decaf mocha was a 3/10… it makes such a difference when the person who is serving you is attentive and listens - there were only a few other people in Notes at the time. It’s a shame because the location in the heart of London is great.

Excellent service, visited for the first time yesterday, was so happy with the service, they’re 5* for the customer service. The food also was great, presentation was spot on, most of the time when I get breakfast in cafes the beans are warm/cold but here all the food was piping hot when it came, so everything tasted very good. A true gem ❤️ The menu is interesting and delicious. The last time I had visited, the rooftop terrace was still being built. Even in the winter, it's such a pretty and relaxing addition. George F — Google review
Located in Peckham, Persepolis is a nice mix of a Persian deli and restauran. I found the place cozy with a friendly old lady and amicable staff, offering both hospitality and tradition. The decor is very simple but warm. The deli is full of Persian goods and the rooftop is informal but pleasant to the eye. The restaurant is vegetarian friendly. The portions are generous for a fixed price of £25 per person. The old lady was generous enough as to let us bring our own drink, which we appreciated. My favorite dish was the roasted butternut squash filled with a rich mix of lentils, chickpeas and nuts. Also a must try is the grilled halloumi served with freshly baked flatbread, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with sesame seeds. At £25 per person, Persepolis delivers a well priced feast for your senses. With a £15.80 service charge added, the bill was £173.80 for six people, which is reasonable given the quality, portion sizes, and unique culinary experience. Hats down for Persepolis, not just a restaurant, but a beautiful experience full of vegetarian flavors.

We’ve mainly been coming here to raid the grocery section lately and the selection of fresh wraps and delicious dips, salads and baklavas etc have been fantastic! What great place, my first visit with a friend who knew it. We opted for one of the Light bites options as it was lunchtime, We shared the Flatbread wraps—classic falafel and the Arabic cheese w/Persian pickle. With chips, salad and dips (the hummus dip was awesome). It was very filling, and a no corkage BYOB policy was great. Lovely staff and owners. Highly recommend this gem log a place.

Superb. We had a feast menu for four and added one extra main, this was more than enough food for 6 - we took enough for two more meals home. It’s really great value and the food is excellent, in fact, it even tastes better the next day! I would highly recommend the carrot float to drink and, out of what we tried, the stuffed peppers, roasted aubergine and fatteh were the stand outs. If they could make the lighting in the restaurant space ever so slightly warmer it would be even better. But it’s quite charming as is.

What a place this is! From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re transported to an authentic Japanese restaurant. We were greeted by a friendly member of staff and we sat at one of the bar tables. From here you have a full panoramic view of the open kitchen, watching everyone busily prepare food. Everything was cooked with precision and care whilst presentation was second to none. The food was delicious, and well seasoned with a range of different sauces and herbs for accompaniment. Nothing was over powering on the pallet and everything was cooked to perfection. I recommend if you get the chance to also sample their Sake tasting board. 3 small shots of different sake to try. Personally I’m not a drinker, but I found these samples to be amazing and I’m glad I had that experience. The duck in their duck kamo was tender and melted in the mouth. Would definitely look to come back again next time in London.
Cal M — Google review
The starters we ordered were a major let down: The cucumber & seaweed salad was bland and watery with no real taste, the fried prawns heads again had no seasoning and tasted of nothing other than oil (had to season myself with the chilli powder provided on each table) and finally the ‘special’ grilled octopus was again bland and appeared to just be boiled not grilled. However the udon dishes themselves were amazingly delicious. I had ordered the spiced cumin lamb udon - the amount of flavour that packed was top quality. Will be back to just try the other udon dishes for sure. Service was quality and attentive and the vibe of the restaurant was great!!

Good food, nice vibe, ok value, ok service. I finally finished my quest in going to all 3 Koya locations: Soho, Hackney and City to get that pink t-shirt for Koya's 15th birthday. City is the closest one from me so I go to the city branch last. The venue is very nice, right in the middle of the city, bloomberg and st Paul. Prime location. The indoor seating is very spacious and comfy but still keeping the authentic koya vibe. Had half udon and prawn tempura. The tempura is so crisp, I really like it. After getting udon in the other branch I know my portion is smaller than the regular so half is enough for me. The broth is very nice, clear yet umami. £11.5 for dinner in city, not bad.
Ulfa O — Google review
With the cold weather setting in, my wife and I were looking for some comfort eats in London and came across Koya serving authentic and creative takes on udon noodle soups from Japan. We started our meal with slow braised rice wine pork belly and agedashi tofu from their specials menu. We followed the starters with thin-cut pork belly served in udon noodle soup. The flavors from the pork and udon were absolutely delicious! If you’re looking for good udon and braised pork belly in the city with Japanese cuisine flavors, I highly recommend Koya.
John G — Google review
What a big disappointment on my visit. I cannot believe the price and the quality presented are so bad. Start of with the starter. The portion is so small and its barely a bite to share between people. And they charge 9.9 for some veg which is still freezing cold = straight out from the fridge. It doesnt even cost much if you double the portion. Pork belly is the only normal dishes, however its still not tender enough. A good pork belly should not even need to use your teeth to tear apart, it should be melting in your mouth. The grill octopus - I cannot believe how rip off this dish is charging people £17.10 for 5 pieces of chewing gum considering how thin the slices are. The veg next to it is seasoned with some miso, mustard, yuzu lemon and it is so salty, it is almost sea water salty and you cant even finish it with those jam thick sauce. Given £17 you should at least give a leg of octopus instead of few pieces of chewing gum to serve to your customer especially it doesn’t taste good at all. The udon is also big disappointment charging 16.90 for a small udon, rockets coriander, and a small scoop of lamb mince. In terms of portion, I cannot believe how small it is. We paid £17 and you give me a scoop of lamb mince that probably cost you less than 10p??? Rockets and coriander - what kind of japanese culture serve these two with udon? You just put some cheap veg to make the colour looks good on the udon? The udon itself is not even marugame quality and they sell it for just less than £6. I have rarely given any restaurants a one star review in my entire google review journey but this is definitely one of the most overrated, overhyped, overpriced, undeserving restaurants that I have ever visited. It is a disgrace to the Japanese culture if you serve this kind of food to any customer. I would not ever visit again and I strongly suggest the management need to review their price, quality, quantity. What a big disappointment. Overall we spent more than £36 per person for these.

Each dish was made with fresh ingredients, and the variety of flavors made the meal truly enjoyable. A must-visit for Thai food lovers!

We had a nice impromptu visit and were pleasantly surprised to have a table free within 2 minutes of waiting on a Saturday evening. Service was friendly and knowledgeable on the dishes. The food was well priced (noting the mains do not come with rice/noodles etc) considering the area/price I would be happy to recommend to friends visiting the area. The chilli oil stir fry did taste delicious but wasn’t spicy at all despite having 1 spice showing ‘Mildly Hot’ The Cola is not on tap and only cans are available. No table water was offered. The food was quite salty but was great. The mint after payment was a nice welcoming touch. Will visit again when in town. If you have servers allergies might be best to avoid visiting - as I have a mild molluscs allergy and I don’t feel like it was entirely accommodated for. 12.5% service charge added to bill.

🇹🇭 Highly recommended by my Thai friends — they say it's one of the most authentic Thai restaurants in London, and they come here often themselves! Perfect spot to grab a comforting meal after shopping around Oxford Circus. I tried the Boat Noodle Soup Beef and Yen Ta Fo, both full of rich, traditional Thai flavours. Generous portions, great taste, and very reasonable prices for central London. Will definitely be coming back!

I should have known better (a Thai mini-chain near Oxford St) but, I was hungry, had an urge for som tam and grilled meat, and was still about a mile from the reliable Lao Cafe. Plus it was 11.30 and this place was open already… I took my chances after seeing their Isaan menu. On walking in, one of the staff immediately barked at me that I could only have the table for 1 hour. Great start. I then made the mistake of asking for “kor moo yang” rather than “moo yang” and was told to only order from the menu. I explained my error and then ordered the som tam pu (from the menu, ironically) and was told they couldn’t do that, as they didn’t have the the little field crabs available. (I agreed to have it without the crabs and just pl raa and got charged an extra pound anyway…) I asked for Thai spice with the som tam and it had decent heat. It could have done with some more lime juice for balance in my view (and to make it less dry), but that’s a matter of taste. It was also pretty expensive at £10.95 given the size. The pork was tender and marinated fine but came topped with sesame seeds randomly. The sticky rice was quite hard and dry. Came to just over £30 with service. And the service remained prickly for the duration… Overall, average at best. Given the service this falls into the “avoid” category for me.

this thai place is a hidden gem in a tiny street near regent street 🇹🇭 it's a small space, but when my friend & i went for dinner, it wasn't at all busy. the service was quite quick, so we didn't have to wait too long for our food. the chicken pad thai was divine! my friend got just the veggie pad thai, & it had pieces of tofu, which was appreciated. 🍜 the mango sticky rice spring roll was delicious, although the mango inside the spring roll was tiny, which was quite disappointing. however, once you get that perfect bite with the mango, rice, & ice cream, the flavours were amazing. i'll come back again, as some of the food items on the menu looked great!

I don't know why Ive never left a review before but the GTC is my treat lunch go-to as it is around the corner from my work. I go alone mostly and get a table in the window. As I cook thai at home I never order the usual curries - its always a Duck Noodle Soup with a coke zero and access to their chilli selection. They know me so well they laugh and say 'Duck Noodle Soup' - they dont bother with a menu. It's divine, sometimes I take photos of my meal Im always so into it and happy when I leave with a mint humbug from the counter on the way out. Heres some pics of various happy me dates and the duck soup ;)

While seating is limited and can feel cozy—almost too close for comfort—the experience is well worth it.
Very delicious food and atmosphere. Please make air con stronger when it’s super hot outside and provide aprons for the food which contains red paper paste. Also my kimchi jiggae had exactly 3 super small pieces of pork. Please add more as the price is too high for just 3 pieces. Recommend and will definitely come back.

A tiny small restaurant. Authentic Korean street food, taste ok but not good. Reasonable price in this location but the portion is small. Agreed with other reviews, dine in but use disposable bowl and cutlery, not nice. It’s because Korean food supposed to use traditional bowl to keep the food warm. No water (tap water) provided. I wonder why other reviews said good service?? What’s the service come from? When I arrived the restaurant, no greeting and just told me to place order from the machine. For me, it’s totally Self-service, you need to order from the machine, get receipt with a number, to find a table and wait the counter staff to call the number, then you go to the counter and get your food and take the cutlery on your own. When I get the food, the young guy just place the tray with my food , say nothing! The basic polite word ‘ thank you’ - NO. And he turn back keep chatting with other staff. The menu on the wall as same as in the machine, means there’s no ingredients of each dish listed. If you’re vegetarian or food allergy, please pay attention. For example: soup with rice have pork. There’s many choice in around Victoria Station, I will try another one next time.

Decent place for authentic Korean food. We got the tteokbokki and fried chicken. Food came piping hot. Surprisingly, my favourite pieces from the tteokbokki were not the rice cakes, but the fried dumplings and pumpkin katsu. I wish they expanded their menu.

Been there for the first time during my holiday. Lucky for me this restarurant was very close to my accommodation. I eat there like three times during my 4 days stay in London. Prices are low comparing to food which guys are serving. Recommending this place for everyone!

Oh my I think that was the best fried chicken I had outside Korea… so delicious!!

I visited this restaurant several times during a short trip to London and was very impressed. The tofu dishes, whether in curry with udon or fried with rice, were consistently delicious. Prices are very reasonable, and while the space is small and simple, the food and value make it well worth a visit.

The food is absolutely delicious, with generous, filling portions. I had the tofu and it was possibly the best tofu I've ever eaten. The rice and sauce were really tasty and the pickled veg nice on the side too. The staff were friendly and welcoming and found out about allergens for me and made recommendations based on my dietary requirements.

Modern European restaurant
Rochelle Canteen is a unique dining spot located in the bike shed of a school turned arts and media complex. Despite its unconventional setting, it attracts those in the know seeking a romantic meal or a leisurely afternoon in its garden during summer. As the sister restaurant to St. John, it offers a short, modern menu with rich and comforting fare, including excellent pies and delectable desserts.
This is a lovely restaurant tucked away behind a wall. You need to be buzzed in to eat here. What this means, of course, is that you have to be intentional to eat here, and make a reservation. It is worth it. It was a lovely day, so we ate outside under the pergola filled with ripening grapes. For starters, we had the cod roe dip with fresh baby radishes and absolutely delicious tomato salad topped with feta. The tomatoes were fresh and juicy, and it was just a lovely summer dish. For an entrees, one of us had the tuna with white beans. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the portion was substantial. The rest of us had two of the specials of the day. I had the crispy lamb ribs, which were quite an unusual preparation, but they were very tender and tasty. The wagyu beef entree was sensational. Perfectly cooked beef served with horseradish and some spicy greens. It was truly a lovely meal. They have several cocktails plus a nice list of wines by the glass. The staff is great, and the ambience very calm and beautiful. Beautiful. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

Been wanting to come here for a while now. Food was mostly good. Cod was cooked perfectly, short rib was a beautiful cut in a delicious gravy. The lamb croquettes were a highlight! Sides were a bit undercooked for my liking. Tough cabbage and potatoes. Wine was excellent and service mostly good. One waiter would just dump our plates on the table without talking us through the dishes. Maybe that's not their policy but it's a nice touch to be reminded of the elements. Otherwise, our main waitress was excellent.
David W — Google review
The food was great with good ingredients. The service was excellent and very quick. The restaurant was in a covered area which was nice but would have been nicer in the outside garden area in the summertime. Overall was a bit pricey but the quality of the food was good. Portion sizes were normal

Lovely place, great food, great atmosphere. The tuna was delicious so the mushrooms plate. The apple crumble was good, although I think it needs more custard. I need to come back and try the mains as they look good! I was very excited about trying this place because of the hype, however I was expecting a bit more.
Alicia P — Google review
Super cool concept with great atmosphere and extremely delicious food! The restaurant is set in the courtyard of a former boys school and guests have the option to dine inside the bike shed, outside on the picnic benches or on the terrace which is covered and - bonus - dog friendly! The bathrooms provide Aesop hand wash too - nice touch!

Rochelle is certainly one of the institutions in East London and I have been trying many times to visit. I left very disappointed. The food was ok, good products but nothing to rave about. My main garnish was stone cold and the steak cooking instructions was not as requested. The service was so slow, although they do ask you to place your order within 15 minutes of your booking to get the tables back, but didn’t deliver speedy delivery. That’s a shame as the setup is great, a little oasis in the middle of London.
Olivier — Google review
Very close to 5 stars, just the poorly clipped paper table clothes and cheap feeling paper napkins could do with an upgrade, but in general, the service was pretty good, and the food exceptional. Curiously Maps says they shut at 19:45, but that's just the last order for mains in the kitchen, we had a table at 19:30, and paid the bill around 9pm.
Gary W — Google review
On a recent trip to London and Paris visiting a series of nice restaurants, this meal stood out as our favorite. It is tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood. Very cool vibe inside - we sat at one of the garden tables and the design was relaxed and stylish. The service was super friendly and welcoming. We had a party of 8 so we basically ordered and shared almost everything on the menu. Highly recommend sharing. They coursed it all out for us. The highlight was an off the menu item, the chef had just purchased some nice large wagyu rib steaks, and he brought them out to show us. I will remember the steak for a lifetime. It came out sliced to share and was swimming on a bed of au poivre sauce that I am salivating at while I type this. I’ll post a pic. The desserts were fantastic too. This was a fun, long, relaxed Friday afternoon lunch. Can’t recommend it enough.

Chinese restaurant
Royal China • Chuan in Chinatown is a popular dim sum restaurant with six branches across London. The Baker Street location is a favorite, offering a spacious setting suitable for business lunches or casual gatherings. The menu features frenetic dim sum sittings with various dishes like har gow, shumai, turnip cake, and prawn cheung fun. In the evenings, the atmosphere becomes calmer and offers consistently good classic Chinese dishes such as soft-shell crab and braised duck.
The duck meal was delicious, as so was the scallop dumplings, soup dumplings. The panda sweet dumplings were not only cute but also very nice, with bean paste inside, not overly sweet. On the higher end price for Chinatown but quality is good and the place is quiet. Nice service
Carlos L — Google review
We usually frequent another spot whenever we are in town but decided to try some other place for a change and I’d heard of this. We ordered the aromatic crispy duck which was a little dry; the accompaniments to the pancake seemed a little scarce, and the charsiew (honey pork) was not juicy or tender enough. The chiu chow sauteed spicy chicken and prawn dumplings were very tasty! Fast and friendly service.
Yvonne L — Google review
A lot better quality and variety of dishes compared to the last branch I visited. Everything came out piping HOT! Nice flavours! Tho service could be improved... they placed us in a quiet area, but we were away from the staff's eyes. My mum had to wave a few times regarding dishes that were missing. Only after they came to make sure we were happy and not missing anything else.
Chloe L — Google review
We had dim sum, all delicious. Price is still reasonable although slightly more than their neighbouring restaurants. Service is ok, although none speaks Cantonese and I find it a bit rude then just shove us the bill right after we finish eating. We have not even finished drinking our tea. The restaurant was not busy, I would understand if the restaurant is busy and wants to hurry people out.
StudeoM — Google review
We didn’t plan this meal! Technically we walked past and the menu looked good so we walked in and got a table straight away. Service is efficient. We ate really well but we forgot to order a full veggie dish to start so we got major food coma from all the carbs! The fried dough stick wrapped in steamed rice noodle - the dough stick was under-proved and over fried (I.e. darker). The mooli pastry - the pastry was flaky but dry and too much of it. The fried veggie rolls (in seaweed) was tasty but quite hard to digest! But all in all - everything else was really delicious. We forgot to take a pic of the black sesame cake but it was so good. Want to go back to try more of their dishes.
Angela L — Google review
The air conditioning on a hot summer day was absolutely amazing ❤️ really good service and incredible food for a reasonable price. There’s a queue when the restaurant opens because of how great it is so I would recommend booking in advance. The fried dough cheung fun (ask for a side of chilli oil) was my favourite!
B — Google review
Although me and my partner enjoyed the food there and were pleased with the dishes, I must unfortunately leave this bad review as at the end of my meal when I was leaving the bathroom, I saw a giant cockroach. (and a really giant one at that) Maybe could’ve been more understandable if the bathrooms were separated from the restaurant but no; they were right next to the commercial kitchen where food was being prepared right at that time. Normally I’d never give a 1 star review, but I felt that it was my responsibility to other customers to notify them of this health concern and hopefully get this problem fixed. Because of the cockroach situation i do not feel it’s appropriate to rate the quality of the food.
Fatima D — Google review
Good, solid yum cha restaurant. The dumplings were plump, and the chicken feet with black bean sauce was magical. But it was the black bun custard that we fought over. Delightful. The roast duck was just fine, albeit felt a little short on meat. Service was prompt but perhaps felt a little rushed. Neither outstanding nor bad, just "mid," as the kids would say.

West African restaurant
Lola Afrique is a small west African restaurant located in Peckham. This place is packed with great options on their African menu, and their egusi soup is some of the best around! Being a typical buka, Lolak Afrique offers traditional Nigerian dishes at an affordable price.
My first visit to Lolak African restaurant in Peckham. I most say I was not disappointed at all. I decided to have my go-too meal one of my favourite dishes, eba with ila sauce, and beef/ponmo. Wow, wow this surely had the X factor and at one point took me back to my earlier days in Abeokuta, Ogun State, where throughout have enjoyed. The meal itself was enough for 2 people but it was so delicious 😋 that I consumed the whole thing even at one point licking the bowl 🥣 to finish off that lovely stew 🍲 After my meal, and just before leaving I placed a takeaway order of plain Jollof rice with moin moin. This was enjoyed today for my lunch. Thank you to all the staff and management at Lolak for your hospitality and for making my visit a welcoming one. Looking forward to my return. Eshè o Yusuf

I got the Abula, which was delicious! Seriously, it was some really good stuff. Customer service was in hell however. Very very rude individuals, and a customer service class is definitely needed. Only thing that saved it was one of the guys that worked there that sorted everything out for us 🙏🏾 If not for him, we were definitely going to leave.

I think this was a decent place considering that we went late on an Easter Monday (bank holiday). The prices were fair, but there was really no display of what we were dished so we didn’t see what we were being served; this I consider not good enough. Staff were excellent, literally at our beck and call, but the stew had too much pepper😃😃
K O — Google review
First things first, I will say that the food tasted amazing, it’s just a shame that it not only gave me food poisoning but also the two other people I came with, we all ordered different things so something is definitely wrong with that kitchen. I honestly just thought I was ill the following day after eating it until my friend told me she had the same symptoms as me. Probably was the worst case of food poisoning that I’ve endured. Such a disappointment since this was my first time coming here and definitely will be my last.
Sharmarah O — Google review
The food was great. I had Amala with Ewedu, Gbegiri, and assorted meat. Everything was rich, flavorful, and satisfying.
Jesumbo O — Google review
The food tastes very nice, however their attention to detail is very bad. It's the second time I ordered delivery and wrote a note for 'Mild Stew' with my meal, but as usual, on both occasions it arrived full of pepper. I have IBS and cannot afford to it very spicy food. 😑
Michal S — Google review
Ordered via just Eat, having paid for the order via tha app I received a phone call to say that one of the things we ordered and paid for was not available, so we were given the option to choose something else that we didn't really like or need otherwise we will lose the money. On top of this, one of our main dishes didn't arrive. When I phoned back the restaurant the woman was rude and told me they couldn't deliver the missing order item and if I wanted to cancel I should go ahead and cancel. Zero customer service, avoid at all costs.
Sam Y — Google review
It should be stated that the food here is amazing. It’s so tasty and unbelievable but it leaves you with an aftermath of misery. This place should be closed down. The amount of people complaining of food poisoning is too much. It’s too bad. Innocent people are at risk😭😭 I and my friends purged for days.. thought it was a fluke. Tried it again another time, purged again for days. Please run away from this place

Cafe
Daylesford Organic is a chic cafe-deli that offers a seasonal and organic menu featuring plates and salads. The desserts are guilt-free, sourced from the farm's own ingredients. With locations in Pimlico, Notting Hill, and Brompton Cross, visitors can enjoy flavorful produce such as strawberries with elderflower cream, salted caramel brownies, cherry crackle choux buns, warm chocolate sauce, and plant-based gelatos.
This organic food store is really great🤍They have very tasty salads made with fresh and healthy ingredients. I like that the calories are clearly shown, so it’s easy to choose something that fits your diet. Everything feels natural and good for you, and there are lots of healthy options to try. It’s the perfect place for anyone who enjoys fresh and organic food.

Beautiful decor, white marble and wood. Love the organic / sustainable ethos and that a lot of the produce comes from their farm in the Cotswolds. Everything is beautifully displayed and it makes you feel good just wandering around. The food is always good, some nice wine by the glass, good efficient and friendly service, nice selection of home wares if that’s your thing. Been coming here for years and I still enjoy a visit.
Carl K — Google review
Delicious food, great prices considering everything is organic, great service and setting. We’ve been there twice so far and we loved it. You have lifts for prams and baby changing facilities on site.
Angela M — Google review
I don’t particularly wish to comment on this café, but I am aware that its brand recognition does not correspond to its hygiene or service standards. I haven’t been there for quite some time. Dishes with food stains, food being prepared with unwashed hands, and a rather intrusive service where you’re encouraged to order food every five minutes even if you just want a simple coffee—ultimately, the discomfort falls on the customer.
Louise L — Google review
Fabulous quality foods at terrifying prices. The staff are always welcoming, pleasant and helpful. But...£3 a scone and they've reduced in size. £6 for a loaf - and they've made them smaller, too. Greed from the top management, a step too far. The area in front of the deli/till needs rethinking. On a Saturday morning it is chaotic with most people not knowing where to queue, food displays taking up too much space and random people buying tea/coffee. I now go much less frequently and, with the obscene pricing, buy fewer products.
Zen — Google review
Beautiful products and decor – but an ugly attitude behind it. We only ordered coffee and pastries. At the counter, nobody asked if we were eating in. The moment we tried to sit down with our drinks, we were told that every single table, even outdoors, is “for dine-in meals only.” So apparently in this “organic” shop, a customer who just wants coffee isn’t worthy of a chair – we were left standing on the pavement like second-class people. It’s ironic: the more “organic” and “exclusive” a place becomes, the more it seems to grow an ego. If this is your brand’s idea of hospitality, you’ve succeeded in making it very clear who belongs here – and who doesn’t.
诶诶啊啊啊 — Google review
My friends and I had the worst experience in London with this place. When we ordered our food at the counter, the waitress didn't ask if we wanted to eat there or take it away. So we sat down at the table and started eating, a very rude waiter approached us and said we should leave because the packaging was for takeaway, not for eating in. We said we'd be leaving in 5 minutes, and another, even more irritated waiter quickly came and started yelling at us in front of everyone. We were so embarrassed. I've never experienced anything like this before. We also ordered salmon that had probably been there for months – the food was awful. I hope I don't go through this again. It's shameful to have attitudes like that.
MIRELE A — Google review
I visited today and though the ground level was really nice and colourful the upstairs cafe was so bland and boring. My wife and I only had tea and a shared muffin so I can’t comment on the other food choices but they did look nice. We asked for a pot of tea for two but were given two separate pots. It was £9.50 for what we had, (includes one small muffin) which is expensive. When I went to pay there was the option of a ‘optional service charge’ to which I declined, this didn’t stop our server from asking that the £10 I gave was not enough. I explained that I didn’t want to pay the additional charge as it was optional. I’ve been to other organic places before and I felt this place could have made the cafe part so much more inviting. As I said at the start it’s all bland, there’s some small plants on the tables but there isn’t any green inside growing in big pots only outside which is such a shame.

The food is very authentic, and the portion is pretty decent for its price as well. Although the restaurant closes at 21:00, the people who ordered before the kitchen closed were still sat and talking after closing hours. It felt very nice to be in that space. Seto Japanese Restaurant, Camden Town I’d like to share our experience of dining at this friendly Japanese restaurant in North London. On Wednesday 10th September 2025, we booked a table at Seto, a place well known within the Japanese community. It was highly recommended to us by our friend Lisa, who is of Japanese origin. I ordered a miso soup, and it was absolutely delicious. The restaurant was full, with many people coming in to try and find a table, so I’d definitely recommend booking in advance. It’s clearly very popular, especially amongst the Japanese community. The interior is simple and perhaps a little tired, in need of an update, but the food is amazing. If you’re looking for authentic Japanese cuisine, it is absolutely worth the journey. For us, travelling all the way from South London, it was a real discovery, the staff were very friendly and the food was outstanding.

It was the finest Japanese restaurant in London. I visited with my friends, craving authentic Japanese cuisine. While there are many Japanese restaurants in London, it's often difficult to find ones that truly capture the authentic flavors. However, this particular restaurant serves genuine Japanese dishes. I highly recommend trying everything on the menu, but the fried aubergine in ginger sauce was particularly delightful. The gyoza was also delicious; you can't afford to miss it. Additionally, the staff speak Japanese fluently, creating a true izakaya atmosphere. If you miss Japan, it's the perfect restaurant to visit.

The small space exudes a neighborhood vibe with dried flowers on tables and counter seating overlooking the open kitchen.
Unpretentious homely restaurant close to Brixton. Lovely well-prepared authentically-inspired and tasty food - e.g. risotto with squid and pork infused with fennel seeds. Overall outstanding experience with an excellent spirit and wine selection. Strongly recommended!

Have lived in the area for years and thankfully made it before I moved - lived up to all expectations! The service was incredible - the staff were so lovely (we got to change tables so my dad didn’t have to sit on a chair without a back, they replenished our water many times without us even noticing, all food on time but never rushed). All the food we had was tasty, with the steak on the bone the standout. For a local mid-price point restaurant, you cannot ask for better.

Absolutely delicious lunch, Italian food. Lovely friendly service, will be back. Was quite quiet when we were there hence only 4 stars for atmosphere but very friendly and welcoming. Recommend if you love Italian food.

The restaurant has a lot of potential, but my experience didn’t fully meet my expectations. The positives: the staff were incredibly nice and welcoming, and the interior is charming and cosy—it's a lovely place to spend an evening. The focaccia was amazing and definitely the highlight food-wise, paired with great olive oil. That said, I found the rest of the food to be a bit underwhelming for the price. The pasta alla vodka sauce was too salty, and the pasta itself was overcooked (not al dente). The extra parmesan portion was also quite small for two people. The salumi board was decent, but not exceptional. I’d love to come back in a few months to give it another try, as the atmosphere and service were excellent, and the menu has potential.

Utterly brilliant local restaurant serving pasta and other Italian dishes from the Maremma region of Tuscany (no pizza!). The staff come with an authentic Italian care for great service and the food is as beautiful as it is tasty. Have been a couple of times now and I couldn’t recommend it more. The mains are good enough to be enjoyed as a quick lunch or a Sunday treat-meal.

Lovely little italian restaurant with freshly made food. We managed to get a booking on the day, but i would book in advance. Service was really lovely. Food very decently priced. I had the fried sage butter ravioli which was lovely and fresh. However, the food needed salt, both my friend and I agreed, felt a bit awkward asking for salt as it was not provided on the table.

We stumbled across Maremma and decided to give it a go. The cocktails were good, as were the main courses. The Arancini balls were very small for £10 and the pastas were very expensive considering their size. The tiramisu was spot on however the sfogliatelle (special) was dried up and pretty disappointing. We enjoyed the meal but it felt it was a bit overpriced

Yum! The pasta and risotto were great and they had this olive oil that elevated everything it touched. Fig and almond tart and honey and lavender gelato for dessert - perfect match.

Asian fusion restaurant
Nestled in a cozy corner, Nusa Kitchen is a delightful family-run cafe that specializes in Southeast Asian-inspired cuisine. With an inviting atmosphere, it serves up an array of freshly made soups, vibrant salads, and hearty rice boxes. The menu features eight unique soups crafted with care, including the standout Singaporean Laksa Lemak—a creamy coconut delight. Diners rave about the flavorful dishes; one guest enjoyed a perfectly balanced fish meal paired with crunchy salad and ample rice.
Great Flavor at Nusa Kitchen I had a wonderful experience at Nusa Kitchen! The café offers delicious South East Asian-inspired dishes, with fresh soups, rice boxes, and vibrant salads. I tried the [mention a specific dish] and it was full of flavor—perfectly balanced and satisfying. The relaxed atmosphere and friendly service made for a pleasant dining experience. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for something fresh and flavorful!

I brought some sort of fish meal while my friend brought soup, and we both really enjoyed it so much! I love the balance put to mine between the strong taste of fish, plentiful rice and the really crunchy salad. I am definitely coming here again for the food! The drinks were super expensive though. As for my friend's soup, the portion was pretty large for her if I can remember correctly? It was a good deal! As this is a small shop, there were very limited seating areas, and it felt really overwhelming but luckily my friend and I sat next to the window which really helped. Really friendly and patient staff too!

Decent place. I got the schezwan chicken noodles. It was pretty good. Nice balance of flavour with some spice. The noodles were warm and tasted good. The chicken was small pieces and a bit sporadic but had flavour. It was good just not amazing. I want to go back and try the Thai green curry. The variety of the menu is good. Service was very good and efficient.

The soups here are delicious! It's my top choice for lunch during work days. The staff at the Cannon Street branch are always very nice and welcoming. Highly recommend!

First time grabbing lunch here, went around 1.30pm on a Friday and no queue which was nice to see. Normally the queue is out the door, so I wanted to try something from this place. After taking a look at the menu on the website I decided to go for the Bangkok Vegan Chicken Curry. Quite disappointed to be honest, barely any sauce, or flavour I would expect from a curry. My salad looked incredibly sad compared to the photo on the website - tomato, cucumber and carrots missing. I wouldn't rush back here!

Food - didn't taste very fresh, which is possible since we didn't realize it was closing soon; hours on the door are vague/incorrect and the young women didn't tell us they were preparing to close, but it explains the service when we heard them tell the next couple of customers who sat to eat that they were closing shortly. Service - wasn't the warmest, but I really wanted to try the food; my mate wanted to leave but stayed because of me, but we really should have left. After sitting and trying to eat our food (as well as 3 other customers), we were told we had to leave; not the best thing to hear when you're not even half-way through your meal. If the customer is in before closing, thru should be allowed to finish their meal... either put up exact hours on the door or freaking tell customers that it's to-go meals only when they order after a certain time (15-20mins to closing). I had to finish eating my food standing outside the restaurant 😲🧐😡🤬🤬 Atmosphere - ok; small seating space for quick eats

Love the food available at Nusa. Great selection of vegetarian soups and rice boxes. Fresh salads, fresh fruit and smoothies can be found in the fridge. Now open for breakfast so can start the day well too.

I come here almost everyday for the Krabi Coconut Porridge- it is great! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The Bombay eggs are tasty too but my favourite is the porridge. Big bonus is that your morning coffee is only a £1 with your breakfast. Great value great service and great food!
