London Fields Lido is a popular outdoor swimming destination located in the heart of east London. The 50-meter heated pool attracts over 340,000 visitors annually and offers various amenities such as tennis courts, play areas, and a wildflower meadow. Nestled in London Fields Park, this lido provides a perfect place to cool down and relax throughout the year. Visitors can enjoy the large sundeck and sunbathing area after taking a dip in the Olympic-sized pool.
A great outdoor pool heated to a perfect temperature. Friendly staff and very good facilities. We went for a winter swim which was incredibly refreshing. The perfect way to start the day.

Nice 23° Celsius water. Clean showers, use £1 for the lockers and you get it back. Coffee shop adjacent, beautiful trees very Roman feeling to swim in a heated outdoor pool.

Great place in Hackney, was here for the first time. changing room inside and outside, (need 1 pound), the water is great as well as the depth! also the staff is wonderful, if something is wrong they explain everything clearly! I will definitely visit this pool again, and recommend it to friends!!!
Edgars O — Google review
A great local, heated lido - well maintained, good and friendly staff and a mix of regulars, locals and passers through. It feels part of the local landscape and part of the local community. Personally I love a winter's swim when the steam is rising and the air is crisp and the sky a pure blue - but it's great at anytime of the year. It is unsurprisingly very busy on a hot summers day - but still swimmable if you come with patience and a forgiving attitude.

Amazing welcoming place! Went for a morning swim while on a trip to London. Enjoyed it so much, went back again the next morning. Best way to start the day with other swimming enthusiasts and the staff were so nice, cheerful and helpful!

Best Lido in London! Beautiful 50 m heated outdoor pool. Super clean. Staff are so friendly, kind and helpful. Diversity encouraged. Has an old London meets new London feel. What a gem!

Highlighting the reception desk staff today. I haven't been swimming for several months. Despite this, as I fumbled with my app, the receptionist offered "I will buzz you through Rose". Such a small interaction, yet such an amazing piece of customer service. I am lucky that on a daily basis, I am warmly welcomed by my family at home. I am also a therapist. For some of my most isolated clients, those little day to day interactions can be literally life saving. As well as thanking the receptionist for their care, I hope Better management sees this review too. At time when so much is being automated to save on costs (understandable), I hope Better recognises how much value that one staff member, is adding to the community of Lido users (and therefore to Better as an organisation).

My first visit and what an amazing place this is. Greeted with a warm welcome by the lady on the desk, clean and modern changing rooms inside and out, warm showers and a spotlessly clean pool in beautiful surroundings. Enough room poolside to relax for a bit if you want to as well and even though I went on a hot day when it was busy, it never felt too crowded. It also showed a true cross-section of society and was clearly being used by locals, with people of all ages, genders and races, which was super refreshing and gave a wonderful vibe. Big shout out to the staff who made my first visit so wonderful. 🥰🌟

Indoor swimming pool
London Aquatics Centre, a stunning former Olympic venue, showcases a wave-shaped roof and pools for diving and swimming. Designed by the late Zaha Hadid, this iconic structure in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park features a 50-meter competition pool with seating for 2,500, a 25-meter diving pool, and an additional hidden underground warm-up pool used during the Olympics.
I've always wanted to swim in this pool since visiting during the Olympics. Booked for the 50m competition pool via the Everyone Active app. At £7 per adult this is great value for money and comparable to any other leisure centre. The changing village was clean, plenty of hot showers, and the lockers (£1 returnable) were well maintained. The pool was clean and the temperature was good for continual lane swimming. Great experience and will certainly return!
Anya C — Google review
Great aquatic centre, with an Olympic size pool. Have been here for few swimming competitions with my son and all the time we had a great time. Comfortable seats with a great view of the main pool and the diving pool. Parking available but we never used the parking of the place because we used underground to get there. During holidays inflatables are usually a great attraction. All the time return to the place with pleasure.
Eleena P — Google review
Superb public pool that was the 2012 Olympic pool. Excellent staff, spotlessly clean. The diving instructors are brilliant: patient, clear and professional. The only negative is that parking is limited for such a large site. Also has a family pool and a well equipped gym. Cafe on site has a couple of GF treats and usually a solitary GF sandwich!
Nick H — Google review
A typical aquatic centre, with an Olympic size pool, Olympic diving boards into a diving pool, and a large warm up pool. As is the way with indoor swimming pools the temperature is a bit high and humidity is extremely high. The seats are comfortable and offer a great view of the main pool and the diving pool. Refreshments, including beer and sandwiches, can be purchased inside.

London Aquatic Centre is massive in side, beautiful pool 50 meters. Comfortable chairs. We are coming for our kids' competition.

I usually don’t write negative reviews, but I felt it was important to share my recent experience. I was hired to set up a backdrop for a birthday party at this venue. Unfortunately, things did not go smoothly. I was initially directed to set up in the wrong room, and once everything was done, I was told to move it all to another room—this caused a lot of unnecessary stress and wasted time. When I returned to collect the backdrop, my client was visibly upset, explaining that the party had been delayed due to poor coordination. I then had to wait an extra 30–40 minutes to pack down, which affected my schedule for the rest of the day. I spoke with the manager on site and asked about compensation for the delay, especially as the client refused to pay this due to the venue’s disorganisation. The manager assured me I’d be contacted, but I never heard back despite following up. I hope this feedback helps the team improve their communication and event coordination. As a vendor, time and professionalism matter, and this experience was unfortunately disappointing

Public swimming pool
Brockwell Lido is a cherished gem in South London, welcoming swimmers since 1937. This expansive outdoor pool boasts a stunning 50-meter length and operates year-round, offering various time slots for all swimming abilities. Nestled within beautiful Grade II-listed Art Deco buildings, it features the delightful Lido Cafe where you can refuel after your swim. The lido has evolved into a vibrant fitness hub with a gym and diverse exercise classes, including yoga and pilates.
Wowzarooney! What a place after a slow and cold trundle on my bike the warm smile of Jeffrey at reception set the tone for the rest of my stay! Clean changing rooms, warm showers, a gym equipped for an Olympian…what more could you want. Highlight. Jeffrey at reception (although I have to say ALL the staff at the lido are so nice) Lowlight: I could only stay an hour.
Luke S — Google review
Lovely local lido that needs some investment in the facilities. Be warned the outdoor pool is not heated. The new sauna pods are a good addition. Changing rooms could be cleaned and wiped down more frequently. Pound coin need for lockers outside. Cafe onsite. Can buy tickets on the Fusion app in advance £8 for a 50min swim session.
K L — Google review
I have been a member since 2021. I love the community and it’s the only nearby leisure centre to me, but since joining the situation at the lido has gone from bad to worse. Fusion (lido service provider) are taking advantage of the community, running our local lido into the ground. The centre is dirty, smells of sewage, and there are flies all over the spa area. it is completely unhygienic & unsafe. In female locker rooms, only about half the lockers actually work. It is similar for the Men's. gym equipment is in dire straits, with people queuing to use the stair master and treadmills, as about 80% of gym equipment doesn't work. the spa is one of the dirtiest areas, and the steam room has only been operational about 50% of the time since 2021. the hydrotherapy pool has not been operational since 2022, and remains unclean/with dirty water lingering at the bottom (see photos taken June 25th). the pool reportedly has a leak, and is often very dirty. the situation at the lido is getting out of hand. it is a profitable centre but it is being run to the ground, at the detriment of our community and members. The staff are all amazing and hold the whole place together. It makes me sad that they have to work under pitiful conditions that could be avoided if the centre was run for the community, not profit.
Hana C — Google review
Had a lovely swim here, not too cold at the end or August. The lady in reception was extremely polite, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the cakes in the coffee shop were over priced and not great, although the coffee was yummy 😋
Johnny — Google review
Great lido especially on a warm day, however the disabled toilet lock is broken and overall run down. I feel there should be individual showers, not keen on the open ones. It feels expensive for a swim session especially when the facilities could be better, overall needs more improvement.
Lucy B — Google review
Brockwell lido is so good. The pool is fresh and nice, sometimes the ducks come swimming. The gym is ok, however a lot of the equipment is broken so that’s why it gets 3 stars.
Max S — Google review
Before I go into this review I want to note the staff working here & the community of swimmers I spend time with are one of the key reasons I return, along with it being a 50m outdoor unheated pool which is great for cold water swimming. Unfortunately the local council have contracted Fusion to operate the pool and facilities and they are doing an atrocious job simply milking this asset! Whilst making significant profits from the pool, they fail to maintain the facilities to an adequate standard & should have their contract revoked; 1) The bathrooms & change-rooms are dirty. The floors are filthy. Are they ever cleaned? 2) The steam room is out of operation for the 3rd time in 2 years 3) Too many machines in the gym are out of order or in disrepair. 4) The signs read “temporarily out of service” and “new facilities coming” but they never come. It’s just lip service. 5) Many lockers in the change room simply don’t work, it’s a lottery. 6) Toilets are a mission to flush, so many don’t bother trying. 7) Its modern day UK and the water in the bathrooms says “not drinkable”! With a different operator in place this pool could actually live up to its timeout rating as #1.
Hamish P — Google review
Great place for a swim outdoors. Great for if you’re wanting a cool plunge! Make sure to bring sliders or similar as because the pool is outside there is a lot of debris that gets stuck to your feet around the pool.

Nestled at the foot of Hampstead Heath, Parliament Hill Lido is a stunning Grade II-listed outdoor swimming pool that offers a unique experience for water enthusiasts all year round. This impressive 60 x 27-metre pool features a distinctive stainless steel liner, creating an eye-catching metallic shimmer that enhances your swim. While the water remains unheated, brave souls can don wetsuits with lifeguard approval to enjoy their dip even in cooler months.
Great experience over 2 sessions, a Sunday afternoon 2.30 session and a Wednesday eve 6pm session. Hot, sunny conditions obviously enhanced the experience. Plenty of space to sit/sunbathe, pool temp perfect for July. Good atmosphere from all who were using on both days. It has a bit of 1930's municipal building about it still and possibly some work required to the men's changing/toilets, but it has great character. Can't wait to go back,
Paul B — Google review
The perfect location for an outdoor swim in a 60m pool, with Life-guards, open 365 days! The summer water temperature is a refreshing 17°C, perfect both for well-being and exercise. The pool has long opening hours and, is large enough to enjoy a peaceful swim, especially during the morning sessions. Easy to access via public transport and, with a good café. Changing facilities are basic, but there are warm showers and clean lavatories. Overall: Highly recommend!
Llwydgog — Google review
A massive steel swimming pool with a cafe and 4 showers poolside, at a reasonable price and plenty of space. To use a small locker to store your valuables, asked for a bracelet with an electronic chip, it's free. Most people simply leave their bags poolside in plain sight (instead of big lockers.)
Star C — Google review
An amazing place to visit and swim or to just go for lunch. Beautiful setting and Friendly staff. The lido cafe is brilliant with so many fresh and yummy dishes.

First time visiting today. Booked the 10:30-1:30 session. Everyone must be out by 1:30. Some people did arrive without tickets and had to wait until 11:30/12 to see if they could get in. Plenty of space to hang out & relax. Loved the ‘free swimming’ section and it wasn’t all just lanes. They have an open swim no booking required 7am - 9am and some weekday evenings 6pm - 8pm.
Finn H — Google review
Parliament Hill Fields Lido is one of London’s great treasures. My wife and I love coming here — the setting, the sheer size of the pool, the atmosphere. It has a timeless quality that transports you to another era and we always look forward to our swims. That is why our recent experience has been so disappointing. When booking online through Eventbrite, my wife accidentally selected a toddler ticket instead of a concession ticket for me (I’m over 60). We realised immediately — the swim was booked for the following Sunday and this mistake was noticed on the Monday. With nearly a week’s notice, it seemed obvious this could be put right. But there was no clear way of doing so. The phone number listed diverts to a voicemail about mobility scooters, emails went unanswered, and when we finally received a reply it simply stated that bookings cannot be amended. The suggestion was that we could try turning up speculatively, pay for parking, and hope to be admitted if there happened to be a no-show. In other words, despite having already paid, we would be gambling on entry. This strikes me as completely unreasonable. The Lido is not a private leisure business but part of Hampstead Heath, managed by the City of London Corporation in trust for the public. That role carries responsibilities — to ensure fair access, to treat the public with respect, and to operate with a degree of flexibility and care. Refusing to correct an obvious human error spotted immediately, and leaving visitors stranded without help, falls far short of that responsibility. We will continue to love the pool itself, but the organisation behind it needs to do much better.
David F — Google review
Google maps shows that it is open until 9 pm. I here 4 pm I spent an hour and a half driving and it is closed here, I wasted my time. Be careful!!!
Katarzyna L — Google review
Parliament Hill Lido has a way of making space feel generous. At sixty metres end to end, old-school long enough for seasoned swimmers to settle into a proper rhythm, it still never feels crowded, even on a sunny Saturday when families, breast-strokers and front-crawl die-hards all share the water. There’s room for children to splash by the shallow rail, lane markers for anyone chasing split times, and acres of sky overhead that remind you Hampstead Heath is only ever half-tamed. Post-swim, the poolside café does an honest flat white and a bacon bap, though prices can feel keener than the water on an April morning. Happily, nobody blinks if you arrive with your own sandwiches; the grassy terraces positively invite a picnic blanket. Bring a thermos, linger, and let the bustle of the city fade into distant hum. Parliament Hill rewards those who treat it less as a quick dip and more as a small escape.

Nestled between Greenwich and Woolwich, Charlton Lido and Lifestyle Club is a hidden gem for outdoor swimming enthusiasts. This impressive facility boasts an Olympic-sized, 50-meter heated pool that remains inviting at 25 degrees year-round, making it perfect for those who crave a refreshing dip regardless of the season. The lido features two sun terraces where you can soak up the rays after your swim, along with a cozy café to refuel.
Honestly a lot better than expected! The life guards did a splendid job all day. The Italian lifeguard was super friendly and saved a girl today.. the whole team was super organised, efficient and professional. The receptionist was nice and welcoming. Facilities where very very clean the pool too. I have absolutely nothing to say.. maulybe just the lack of umbrellas by the sun bathing area on the members area.. it would be nice to have it but I guess could be seen as a hazard with no stafg assigned to that area.. but then again put a warning up to close them if windy or be fined.. I booked for 3 hrs at the sunbathing area for £30 from 10-1 and ended up staying a bit longer but the security guard was very nice and professional and because either was not too busy he didn't keep me out straight away.

If you want to actually swim for fitness look for another place. The pool itself is nice, but all the times I went for a swim for fitness session (£11.50 for non members and £9.50 for members of Better gym) I’ve encountered several issues: 1) in the medium and fast lane there are people just walking or standing in the middle of the lane. The staff doesn’t really tell them to go to the slow lane, even though there’s the risk of crashing. In other Better facilities like the Aquatics Centre they would direct clients to the suitable lane. 2) toilets and showers are extremely dirty, people just throw toilet paper everywhere but in the right place. I even found the packaging of some goggles inside one of the toilets. 3) most of the toilets and showers cannot be locked, resulting in people opening the door continuously when you’re trying to have a shower and relax. Maybe let’s fix them? 4) mothers going to the female changing room with boys and leaving them roaming around. One of them today opened the door of my shower multiple times because he was left alone in there by his mother (again, let’s fix the door lock). 5) even though the price is not low (see above) there will be a guy that kicks you out after your 1hr slot is over. And, considering the issues with all the people not swimming in the medium and fast lane, it’s really hard if you have a training programme to follow and a target distance. The only positive thing I can say is that the swim doctor classes for adults are good, hence I’m giving 2 stars and not just one.
Chiara G — Google review
I came here today due to the warm weather and suitable for outdoor swimming, otherwise I wouldn’t visit if temperatures were below 25c as the pool doesn’t feel heated at all. The cost for a child at £5.50 is very good value but £11.50 for an adult is overpriced. I don’t understand why adults always have to pay twice the amount when we go to do the same thing! I did not enter the pool and let my son swim for the hour due to skin allergies. he is also a strong swimmer but an adult must accompany him as he is 7 years old. I would advise maybe lowering the cost of an adult ticket and maybe for those parents who won’t be using the pool to charge a small fee. Overall though the place is kept clean with lots of cubicles and showers. The staff at the front was overwhelmed there for more staff needs to be available as families were not entering on time for their time slots, there is also someone who comes round asking you to show your time slots which was not the easiest when you are trying to sunbathe! To police this better I would suggest that at every hour you have everyone leave the pool, and then the next lot of customers can enter. Some families weren’t leaving and it can become overcrowded.
Sam A — Google review
Booked to go for a swim on Sunday, paid £11.50 for an hour which is very overpriced for the facilities available. They also had a security guard/bouncer patrolling the pool who was waking sunbathers up and asking them to leave after their 50 minute slot had expired. He would stand next to you whilst you folder your towel up and was hurrying mothers and babies up - awful behaviour.

Big pool! (50m, with wide lanes) which encourages decent distance swimming even for those who are amateurs. Pleasant, helpful staff, nice showers, good lane segregation for those that want to splash around or swim at different speeds. Secure bike parking outside, 30p locker tokens from machine (lockers are tall, but narrow). Decent, down to earth facilities, only request would be why not add chairs to the non-members sun lounge, as it's currently a large, unused space? Nice visit.

Amazing pool, especially for training in. Wasn’t too busy in a hot day and able to book easily though the Better app. Clean and nice water temperature, really looking forward to more swims here! *Update - be warned that Charlton Lido rents out the pool to local swimming clubs and so evening swims are compromised by the lanes being reduced meaning public fast and medium swimmers will be together. It’s quite frustrating that this isn’t anywhere on their website so that we can plan accordingly.

This is our favourite Better facility in Greenwich. Great teachers and classes. I just wish they’d sort the entry gate and get one that has a card barcode reader (rather than QR code).

Absolutely gorgeous places for toddlers, great mini pool for adults and children to swim together. I would totally recommend, we had a blast and a meltdown at the end of the session as baby didn't want to get out of the pool, totally loved by the whole family. Also it was very clean and safe with the life guard on stand.

Went for the wave machine. Great pool area. Shame the hot tub doesn’t work/isn’t available. I can’t swim as much because of nerve/illness issues and was hoping for that but I did waddle in the warmer area of the pool that is meant for the younger ones. It’s a great day out. Facilities were clean. Staff friendly. Lifeguards are always aware.
Rida — Google review
This is the worse place for swimming. They get all the school kids in all the time during term time and holidays. If you’re off peak member there’s a very narrow window for you to swim because either school group are there so they close off the whole area or lessons are taking place which means a very wide lane dedicated for lessons and narrow lanes for the rest with so many swimmers crammed in. They are clearly putting profits before value for money and comfort of paid members from the fat contracts they get from local authorities !
KA D — Google review
the upstairs gym is generally ok and clean but the AC is never on. The Pool side area could really do with more frequent cleaning, a good scrub is needed as the tiles are filthy. upstairs mens changing rooms is a health hazard. The sauna is also a little grimey especially around the edges and the around the drain which looks like it's never been wiped.
Tom H — Google review
Sunday afternoon, blissfully quiet! Excellent equipment, all brand new. The whole gym floor was clean and there was a visible, active gym instructor. There is limited floor space for stretching and I thought the toilets not being in a separate area in the changing room was a bit odd. Pool looked clean and inviting. I'm a member so I didn't interact with reception as I just scanned myself in, which was easy enough.
Lemon — Google review
Filthy. Overflowing drains. The main indoor pool looked fine but it was only for private lessons and adults swimming lanes. The wave pool was therefore packed with greasy minging water.. looked disgusting and the outdoor pool was OK, a bit cold considering it was windy and overcast. The changing rooms stank off the toilets. There was no indication main pool would not be accessible.. I feel ripped off
Mark G — Google review
It’s a nice gym but it’s not been updated in years and there’s never any air con in the gym. Plus the pool is green (blurred people for privacy)

I recently moved to the area and was genuinely shocked by the state of this lido. I can’t believe they’re charging (£8.30) money for access to such a poorly maintained and dirty facility. The pool is old, unclean, and feels completely neglected. It was a really unpleasant experience, and I won’t be coming back. Totally disappointing.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Covent Garden, Oasis Sports Centre is a hidden gem for both fitness lovers and swimming enthusiasts. This council-owned facility boasts a year-round heated outdoor pool that transforms your swim into an invigorating experience, regardless of the season. With its inviting sun terrace and adjacent indoor pool, Oasis offers a unique charm that captivates visitors from the moment they step inside. While it can get quite busy during hot summer weekends—making serious laps challenging—the atmosphere remains lively and fun.
Great little outdoor swimming pool in central London. Facility is old but nicely maintained with an active community who maintain some gardens. The gym here is well equipped but lacks natural light and phone signal. Main negative here is the token locker system meaning you have to pay to keep your stuff safe. If you want to gym and swim that means paying twice.

visited Oasis Swimming Pool with my friend, and we had an amazing time! The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the water was just the right temperature. There was plenty of space to swim and relax, and the atmosphere was very refreshing. The staff was friendly and helpful, making sure everything was running smoothly. We especially enjoyed the [mention any specific feature you liked, e.g., “lazy river” or “jacuzzi”]. It was a great place to unwind and have fun. Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable swimming experience. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We were visiting and it was very hot in London, so it was great to be able to find a place to swim. It was a little challenging to set up an account sign up to swim as you needed to have a local post Code, but we figured it out. We only use the pool and they changing areas.

I’m a tourist, and I had the chance to use the indoor swimming pool here in the morning. The service was simple and straightforward, but the pool staff were incredibly kind and friendly. For me, the swimming pool and the changing rooms were excellent — spacious and very clean. I really appreciate that the facility is open to tourists as well. After swimming, the shoulder pain I had from carrying my backpack eased significantly. Thank you for offering such a great service!

Normally this is a great pool, I love it, it is in a very central spot in London and everyone that swims here is very friendly. However, it can be extremely difficult to access the pool via their shonky booking system, which is rendered unusable for those who don’t have a British credit card with a British address. I found all staff to be friendly and accomodating there, but the young supervisor was quite rude and needs to adjust his attitude. He was very unwilling to go out of his way to assist anyone in need. The young girl working there was lovely though. Even thought this is a great pool in a great location, if you’re visiting London from abroad, I would strongly advise you to find somewhere else to swim.

Very run down! The female showers have a pipe leaking straight to the showers floor. Love the outdoor swimming pool - diving is allowed!

Came here for the first time yesterday. And I was with my wife and had the pleasure of bumping into one of the lifeguards, a Tunisian man who was an absolute delight. Very professional showed me around very polite and overall a tidy man. He gave me tips on how to swim and a quick tour as I didn’t know where the changing rooms were. Unfortunately I didn’t get to say goodbye and thank him for his amazing hospitality, If my message can be passed on I’d be ever so grateful.

For 40£ (student price; the regular one isn’t much more) a month, I’m not sure you can find better value for almost anything (let alone a gym in Central London…), anywhere. The outdoor heated lido provides an enjoyable swimming experience, while there are also options for private gyms and boutique fitness brands nearby. Additionally, the facility features a splash park for kids to enjoy water play in a safe environment.
Love the outside pool, always pretty clean. In particular the reception staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. There are alternative pools within reach of where I live, but wouldn’t dream of changing from POTP.

Rubbish place 15 years ago it Used to be a lovely pool, but what happened: the baby pool with ridiculous reason is closed, the stuff is absolutely careless. In fact very rude and care about absolutely nothing. This review is based not only on one visit, but for the last 5-7 years. Every time I come where there is always a problem, the management is never willing to help with anything, they just protect eachother and repeat the instructions. There is no human touch whatsoever. Always disappointed. Too much pretending to be a good place. If I could leave 0 stars I would do it. Disgusting manners from all management. . Nobody ever answered the phone. The website is never helpful. Everything is rubbish and disgusting
Happy L — Google review
The changing cabins, showers, floors, and the pool itself are not clean. Swimming here feels more like sitting in a bathtub filled with tap water at home than using a proper public pool. There’s no sense of proper water treatment — something like ozone or a similar technology could really improve the quality. The entire facility feels outdated, at least 20 years behind in terms of design and upkeep. It clearly has potential, but a full renovation is badly needed. The forced lane swimming system is also frustrating. It limits families and casual swimmers who just want to enjoy their time, and the strict 55-minute time slot adds unnecessary pressure. Unfortunately, this could be a much better facility, but due to poor maintenance and questionable management decisions, it’s stuck as a 1-star experience — a real disappointment.
Hasan E — Google review
Easy to book timed swimming session which I think is great to avoid overcrowding. Friendly nice staff at reception. Great pool although the whole building seems unloved and outdated. My main issue is the cleanliness of the changing and shower area. The floor was filthy and the male toilets smelled foul. I nearly threw up with the smell in there. Personally I am not a fan of shared / unisex showers. Having to shower in front of women kids etc is not nice. I’d use the pool more if I could somehow avoid the chafing area, it really is gross

So we finally managed to book a swimming session since it was 32 degrees and baking hot yesterday. Was nice clean pool, nice water temperature kids had a blast and it was lovely to chill and have a swim. It is a nice clean and spacious place. Has a good sized changing room. Lots of lockers which require tokens rather than locks or £1 coins. Has changing rooms for families as well. Hair dryers on site which are 20p. Offers an indoor and outdoor pool (weather depending) as well as a teaching pool. Nice spacious cafe on site selling a good range of food and drinks hot and cold. Lots of space to sit inside or outside. Could even chill there before or after your session. The team were friendly and helpful and I was happy we did visit. Would have loved to have use the outdoor pool but it was fully booked since others beat me to it for booking the slots. Overall a good first time experience. Would definitely go back. Try it for yourself...
Alisha A — Google review
Great local amenity with a 33.3 meter indoor pool (for those with confused fitness trackers) a smaller outdoor pool and teaching pool for kids, it is now kept clean and well maintained considering it is a public pool. The swimming changing facilities have been upgraded, and they offer great showers in a clean area. While the gym is a bit tired, there are plans for renovations and upgrades. The reception staff are friendly and have a great sense of humour, especially considering some of the flak they get from a handful of grumpy visitors. Parking is pricey, so public transport is the best way to go. Simple booking system, so book in advance or phone if you want to be sure to get a swim. Limited spaces which makes it much easier for lane swimming. 250 capacity for swim and stay sessions in outdoor pool, so check weather and book on sunny day.
Craig C — Google review
Honestly I do NOT recommend the staff were soo rude and we had to go to the inside pool even though we booked outside because of a thunderstorm(people didn’t even have the chance to step a foot in the pool before everyone had to leave). I also did not like the fact that there was a big bush where you can’t see your child. We had to wait in a long line to go inside the indoor pool which honestly I did not like because we could of had 3 hours outside instead we had 1 hour and 15 minutes inside , and also if there knew there was a thunderstorm they should of emailed us.
Hana S — Google review
New system to enter the gym is now implemented, I wonder when will they spend money on what's really important, like male changing rooms that look like from 1989 or painting the walls at the gym itselt. Fresh start, more like an outdated gym with new app.

Tooting Bec Lido is a stunning outdoor swimming haven nestled in South London, renowned for being the largest open-air pool in the UK. Spanning over 90 meters, this freshwater lido offers a vibrant atmosphere with its colorful changing huts and inviting blue waters. Open to the public from May to September, it’s an ideal spot for families looking to enjoy summer days splashing around without designated lanes.
lovely lido. super clean and well maintained. been twice on the hottest days - pool is so massive it doesn't feel anywhere near overwhelmingly cramped. you get full sun until around 6pm peak of summer when trees start to shade off half the pool. water temp was 22-26 degrees in 30 degree weather. water fountain, ice cream truck and cafe with iced coffees and hot food on site. can't bring alcohol or anything with glass (jars bottles etc), security perform bag checks upon entry.
Tanya A — Google review
Very busy during peak times as expected. Recommend buying tickets online in advance to guarantee entry especially during peak season. Lovely lido with lane swimming options. Lots of changing cubicles however long queues for toilets. Kiosk shop selling refreshments on site.

A beautiful large swimming pool set in a green lawn with mature shady trees for hot days. Very clean, excellent changing rooms with showers & hairdryers, lifeguards on duty. We visited during a heatwave & the water was surprisingly warm, but have visited previously when the water temperature was quite a challenge.
Ann P — Google review
I visited Tooting Lido on a sunny day, and it was understandably very busy. The pool is large and has a big capacity, so it never felt too crowded. There was, however, a lack of seating and shaded areas, making it quite difficult to get out of the sun. There was a cafe on-site that sold drinks, food, and ice creams. It was very popular, but they seemed to handle the crowds well. My only comment would be that the changing facilities and toilets could do with an upgrade, as they weren't particularly pleasant or comfortable.
Joel P — Google review
Fantastic outdoor lido — we’ve visited several times and always enjoy it. It’s best to book in advance, as when it’s fully booked you’ll need to queue outside. Bags are checked for glass, alcohol, and similar items before you’re given a wristband. There’s no seating directly around the pool, which isn’t an issue if you bring a large towel or something to sit on. Benches are available near the small café at one end. On hot days, the café can get extremely busy with long queues, and there may also be queues for the toilets. The toilets are a little run down, and the shower facilities are in a shared space. I also want to mention that the lockers are somewhat unreliable. They’re small, require your own padlock, and while they’ve worked for me in the past, today I found I could pull mine open without much effort even with the padlock secured. They’re showing their age and could do with upgrading. That said, it’s still a wonderful lido — so much so that we’re happy to travel 1.5 hours across London just to get there!
Kelly — Google review
Wonderful outdoor lido set in the greenery of Tooting Common. The changing rooms are nice and there is good space to sit and enjoy as well as the enormous unheated lido. The staff are really friendly and pleasant. There is a cafe onsite, however it is not cheap- would recommend bringing your own snacks as it can quickly add up for a group of people.
Pooks T — Google review
Lovely lido nearby my house. It’s clean and has plenty of space, showers and changing rooms. My only issue was they didn’t have any deckchairs, so you literally had to sit on the ground (or if you’re lucky enough you could secure a place by the tables).

Nestled in the heart of London, Marshall Street Leisure Centre and Spa is a true hidden treasure. The establishment boasts a fully restored 1930s pool with elegant marble floors, alongside a modern gym and day spa. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by incredibly friendly and accommodating staff members. The gym is highly regarded for its quality, while the spacious pool offers ample room for swimming in all lanes. However, some guests have noted that the water temperature can be chilly during winter months.
It's on Marshall Street W1 and in the heart of Soho a stone's throw from Carnaby street. I've used the leisure centre couple of times. There's a very well equipped gym and one of the biggest swimming pools in central London. You can also use the therapy room if you want to have a more relaxing day, recover and rejuvenate.

The centre has a beautiful 30 metre swimming pool which is impeccably clean. The changing rooms and showers are modern and spacious. The staff on reception and the lifeguards are friendly and professional. The reason for the 4 star rating is the Everyone Active App. Swimming lessons and training sessions occur regularly. It would be helpful if days and times were indicated on the booking system. This would give members an informed choice about attending when lane availability is limited.
Paula C — Google review
Really lovely place to swim in the heart of London's West End. Apart from Sydney & Budapest I cannot think of any other major city that offers such easy to access i.e. no membership required and centrally located pool in such a good and clean condition. Friendly staff. On my swim people were swimming at an appropriate pace for the lane speed. Being your own padlock, towel and shower gel. It is becoming expensive though, seems a bit unjust that those who work and make an economic contribution pay twice as much as the unemployed and non working. For a tourist who loves to swim worth coming in for a few laps.
R S — Google review
Do you really want to go to a gym where people are using it to dye their hair? Very shady contracts, not explained up front and often very dirty inside with people leaving underwear and other cloths in the changing rooms. Just underwent a renovation but you can’t tell the difference other than being forced out of the shower area and having to all use the swimming pool side. Only + side is that it’s fairly well priced. As I have allotted money right now I’ll have to stay here but when I’m Back on track I’ll join a respectable gym.
Caïna V — Google review
Disappointing. Was really looking forward to a return to swimming after a two year hiatus due to health issues. Spoiled by my overall experience at Marshall Street. Great to be swimming again but space at a premium with swimming lessons going on in two lanes. No warning of this. Told on the phone by a friendly staff member I could pay at the desk, £5 concession. I then discovered I'd been overcharged for my first swim in two years. Trying to have this sorted out I phoned but waited so long for my call to be answered the call cut off, an email sent with no reply. Phoned again. Call answered this time but I was told by a depressed sounding staff member I'd need to phone back the next day and be transferred to sales, who were closed at this point. Phone the next day. The icing on the cake! My call was answered by an unpleasant staff member who had half a mind on the call while talking to other people at the same time. Apparently I was in the wrong as I hadn't registered for a concession! I didn't know about this and nor did the staff member on reception evidently who'd charged me the full price. Anyway, the unpleasant staff member very grudgingly put a note on my account about the refund owed but as if I was being done a huge favour. No apology. Very disappointed overall. The return to swimming at Marshall Street I was so looking forward to has become a damp squib and my enthusiasm to go back gone. Maybe there's a staff morale problem as customer service is so hit and miss?!
Jeh R — Google review
I visited Marshall Street Leisure Centre for a swim, and I must say it’s one of the most disappointing pools I’ve encountered. Firstly, the shape and depth of the pool are problematic-the shallowest part is just 0.90 meters, which makes it difficult to swim comfortably if you're tall, as your hands constantly touch the floor. While that may be hard to change structurally, the cleanliness is something that absolutely can be addressed. Unfortunately, the cleaning appears to be minimal to nonexistent. There’s visible rust along the walls and at the bottom of the pool, which is quite concerning. I’m genuinely surprised to see this level of neglect in a facility located in the heart of London.

Hampton Pool is a great place to enjoy the summer sun. The pool is situated in a woodland setting and features a shallow pool for young kids as well as a deeper pool for adults. The water is heated throughout the year, making it perfect for swimming all year round. Showers and changing rooms are not always clean, but the pool itself is amazing!
Well worth a visit, a great place to take the family. And after you can go into the unbelievable Bushy Park. The both will make for a great day out!

We searched for good pool recommendations SW London for sunny day yesterday and this came up. Still plenty of places so we went. There are a lot of things you can do on the site, gym/ swim / picnic on the grass (bring a blanket) / bbq (they sell next to the pool)/grab a drink. It was somewhat packed but because we are there for the kid to dip into the water so didn’t mind. They do spare 3 lanes for swimmers, slow / medium / fast. But there is a lane for family so you can play. There js also a shallow pool which a 3YO toddler should be able to stand in the water touching floor.

Love this open air pool! An unspoilt gem with friendly staff and a cafe that sells really good coffee too. Great for kids swimming lessons, summer concerts in the evenings and Summer TNT( inflatable fun days for kids). Lots of parking in streets around the pool, the car park gets busy! There are 2 disabled spaces in the car park but only one accessible change room which gets used for families too.

Went here over the holidays and honestly loved it! Entry was only £10 per person for the whole day, which is such a good deal. No queues at all, so we got straight in and had plenty of space to swim and relax. There’s a really nice café inside too – we tried the omelette and it was absolutely amazing. Super chilled atmosphere, clean facilities, and just a great place to spend the day. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun, stress-free swim spot! 🌊✨

Not impressed with the new management. Decided to take my 4 month old for his first outdoor swim. Have been coming here for years and was looking forward to introducing him to the water. On arrival, there were two 'bouncers' on the doors in black suits. I was asked aggresively 4 times by 4 different people if I had booked. Being a hot day, it was incredibly busy - not sure why the children were not at school.. Despite there being no available slots online, they kept letting more and more people in. In all these years, I've never seen the pool that overcrowded and this was an off peak Friday! I sat on the steps of the learning pool hunched in the corner protecting my baby from kids frantically splashing about in close proximity as there was just no space. The pool had a lot of debris floating about and bits at the bottom and felt cold to me despite it being a heatwave. I'm not convinced it was 32 degrees. My 4 month old became very cold after 10mins so we got out. All for £9.50 which has ramped up in price considerably. Really sad as I was looking forward to spending my maternity time here coming regularly but I've been put off now as I don't feel my child is safe in the pool.

From May to August, the public can enjoy swimming in this section of the Serpentine lake. The water is not heated, providing an invigorating experience amidst ducks and swans.
Totally fabulous. Had it all to myself which was amazing, staff so helpful, was clean and nice to swim with birds sitting on the water with me. Facilities great, clean and well maintained. The lido has a big concrete area with some grassy bits to lay your towel on. Changing rooms were relatively clean, nothing alarming about them. It's definitely an iconic location for a bit of sun and a dip. The prices were really good compared to most London lido's. Would definitely recommend it. Just make sure you check the weather first!

In serious need of oversight and leadership. Closing kitchen an hour before it’s suppose to, bar staff leaving bar unattended for 15 minutes at a time. Stick to your open times, loads of people going in at 5pm being told the kitchen is closed. This place could generate soo much more if they just ran it properly. When it first opened it was great, 2 years later, not the same….. slowly degrading, staff bare speak English, need to repeat orders. What a shame. Clear lack of leadership. Be better

A perfect escape right in the heart of London. The Lido offers stunning views and even better food. I’m still thinking about the dish the chef recommended — it was spot on! The team went above and beyond to tailor the experience, making it feel so special and personal. Easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in the city. Highly recommend! Personal shout out to Kassim for our whole experience. Thank you, Chef!

Balham Leisure Centre is a bright and inviting space, perfect for swimming with its stunning vaulted ceiling. Unlike many indoor London pools, this center offers a motivating environment. Additionally, it features a steam room and sauna for relaxation. Visitors praise the friendly staff and great equipment, making it an enjoyable place to work out regularly. The facilities are top-notch, including an amazing pool and now-open steam room. Overall, it's highly recommended by those who have experienced its excellent amenities.
Booked the inflatable pool party. The life guards and staff were amazing, so helpful and everything was really well organised and on time. The children had a fantastic time. Thank you so much!!

Good gym for the price and the app is top notch for bookings etc. The new rule around cancelling has helped as it's stopped people just booking and not turning up. Wish they did more spin classes but overall it's great value for me, nice people seem to go there and the staff are decent. Thanks!

Lane etiquette rules are there to make sure everyone can safely and comfortably share the lane. The aim is to avoid collisions like the one my partner experienced at Balham this week when someone swam headfirst into him on the wrong side of the lane and hit him in the face. For any management or swimmers not aware, here are the essential points of how it works: 1) Observe the other swimmers and always choose your lane appropriate to your speed. Make sure you are swimming in the same direction as other swimmers and on the correct side of the lane (using the marking on the floor of the pool) 2) People already swimming have right of way, people standing at the end or getting in have to choose the right time/spot to join in. Try to leave a 5sec gap between swimmers and do not push off directly on someone's feet. 3) The lane goes in speed order with the fastest person at the front. If someone is catching you up (and especially if they tap you on the feet) move aside at the end of the lane and let them pass. 4) Turn on the side you will come out on. If you're swimming on the right side of the lane, cross to the left before you turn, then turn and push up on the left. If you are standing at the end of the lane, do not stand in the turning spot as it forces people to turn and push up on the same side, into the path of oncoming swimmers. Even in busy pools, if everyone follows basic lane etiquette, there's plenty of room for everybody to share the lane safely and comfortably together.

It is impossible to have a relaxing session in sauna. Frequently, groups of people have very loud conversations in a very small space, so it is impossible to escape or ask them to keep quiet and risk the conflict. The management should install the rule of silence in the sauna to make it a relaxing and inclusive experience. There are many other places where people are encouraged to have a conversation.

Useless staff. Charged a no show fee despite attending. I showed my booking at the reception and mentioned I've never been before so don't know where everything is. Staff member completely disinterested, didn't even point me into the right direction. The next day I got an email saying I have been charged a few for non attendance and there's no easy way to dispute it. Management, tell your staff to actually note down attendance!

Decent gym gear and facilities but completely disinterested staff. Rather unfriendly place with little community feeling during the week. Finally a problem with a gym user was never satisfactorily sorted and said member was allowed to return again and again, despite exhibiting poor behaviour towards a certain sector of gym user. Management did NOT exercise proper safeguarding in this respect.

Repton Park, located in East London, is home to a Virgin Active leisure center with a stunning pool housed in a converted cathedral. The space features stained glass and grand archways, along with additional amenities like a steam room, jacuzzi, and sauna. Visitors praise the friendly reception staff and spacious gym floor equipped with high-quality exercise equipment. The park itself offers serene walking paths and well-maintained surroundings within a calm and elegant neighborhood.
Lovely grounds as you drive in to a private housing estate. Vigin Active Gym is very striking as it is a converted church. The sauna used to be a confessional box !

So I saw this stunning pool in a church on the news and thought wow I need to go there! People were saying how magical it was and so I couldn't wait to book a day out there! Only to find when ringing up that I spoke to a very abrupt member of staff who said it's members only! This is ridiculous and really bad advertising something and then finding out you can't go as I live too far from London to be a member and just wanted a nice day out. It would make more money allowing people there for the day too, even if it was just weekends but it being members only is very selfish! Share this beautiful pool come on!!!!!

Very rude and abusive security guard on Tuesday 14 January 18.50-19.00. His prejudice got in the way. He refused to let my partner in the gym and he came on a guest pass he demanded to see and actual red card on the way out. The foul mouth guard swore at me and failed to understand that guest don't get passes. He even attempted to scare monger my partner telling him that he won't let him out! In other words holding my partner against his own will! I witnessed a few times he lets people of his own skin colour in and not look at their card he just lets them in! Abusing his power in position. Management sack him he is a risk and abusive to the public. Guests come and go and they enquire and he clearly is uneducated to understand anything so simple!

Nestled in the heart of Bayswater, Porchester Spa stands as London's oldest spa, a true gem that has recently undergone an impressive refurbishment to revive its original Art Deco charm. This Grade II* listed building from 1929 boasts stunning marble finishes and high ceilings adorned with traditional green-and-white tiles, transporting visitors back to a more elegant era. While it may not offer the glitz of modern luxury spas, Porchester Spa is rich in character and authenticity.
Had a lovely first visit to the spa and included some length-swimming in the pool. Hospitable staff. Bring a 20p coin (refundable) for a locker, and bring your own towels. Three female-only days and three male-only days. Two steam rooms, three graduating warm rooms, a sauna, cold plunge pool, showers, hair-dryers and recliners in the Relaxation area. Note that it closes for cleaning at a specific time in the afternoon.

First time here and I had an a-m-a-zing experience. The receptionist Sandra, is lovely and I was shown around by the lovely Dolores. The spa is at least a hundred years old, beautifully vintage, spacious and clean. There was no smell whatsoever in any part of the Spa. Always make sure to bring 20p with you for the lockers, (it's returnable). Porchester Spa provides the facilities for this for under £70 a month, with as many visits at you like and all day access. Take time out for yourself, invest and enjoy this life. Namaste 🙏

Wannabe gangster staff who refuse to identify themselves , attempts at gaslighting when you ask their names or any questions, the staff stand around all day doing absolutely nothing! Apparently they have this cleaner in picture who thinks he is security 😂 but I’ve never seen him cleaning, the “staff” member who I suspect is just a customer who thinks he owns the joint was in no uniform, and just had a towel wrapped around him was quite rude and evasive about any questions, was then forced out into public reception half naked where I met the wannabe gangster 😂 The place is not clean at all, i tend to use the steam, sauna and plunge and watch wear you walk cause people are scrubbing , spitting , blowing nose on floor, floor is disgusting 🤢 and I mean filthy! So I use the pool side and walk over In all the years ive been going , never seen a cleaner

I have been a loyal customer of this gym and spa for many years and always appreciated the friendly atmosphere and relaxing environment. Unfortunately, in recent months the overall experience has declined noticeably, and many regular clients have mentioned the same concerns. The spa area now feels less calm and more stressful. Staff frequently enter or open the sauna doors, which disrupts the sense of privacy and relaxation. A spa should be a place where people can unwind without feeling watched or interrupted. Maintenance standards have also dropped. The cold plunge pool has been out of order for a long time, the showers are not always cleaned properly, and water is often left on the floors, creating safety issues. These things give the impression that cleanliness and customer comfort are no longer a priority. It’s disappointing, because this used to be one of the best spa experiences in London. I truly hope management takes action soon to restore the high level of service and professionalism that regular customers have always valued.
Chritian G — Google review
Had a really good experience at Porchester Spa. The staff were very understanding and welcoming, and the facilities themselves are clean and well maintained, which made for a relaxing visit. One thing to note is that the showers are a bit of a walk from the changing rooms and lockers, which can be slightly inconvenient. Also, don’t forget to bring a 20p coin for the lockers! Overall, a lovely spot to unwind and recharge plus great cold plunge pool

Pleasant way to spend an afternoon in an historic spa. There are a few sauna and steam rooms and a cold plunge. The pool is also accessible from the spa so you can easily move between both. Staff were pleasant and helpful. It was busy but plenty of room for everyone. Downstairs area can be noisy but lounge area is quiet to relax between hot and cold.
Liza M — Google review
This is an old spa that is leaning more towards a Hamam than a modern Spa temple. The building itself is beautiful and the price is fair for London terms. What I liked was that there is no time limit for your stay, the use of the swimming pool is included, the lounge chairs are very comfortable and the overall vibe is quite relaxed. I would be willing to give a star more if the staff was a bit more attentive to the lack of spa etiquette from the visitors. People were blocking the lounge chairs with towels while not using them, and one guest even left her towels spread out in the sauna in-between visits, making a good part of the lower bench not useable for others even while she herself was not there - all this in plain sight of the staff. It would also be great if they could upgrade the showers a bit so that you don't have to push the button every five seconds or provide some safe places to store your glasses in front of the sauna and steam rooms. I did appreciate, though, that swimwear was not mandatory in the spa, and would come back hoping for a better experience next time.

It's a great place. I've knocked off a star as some of the sauna/steam rooms smelt a little unsavoury, and people putting towels on loungers that they weren't using was disappointing.

The friendly and caring trainers have successfully removed the stigma attached to gym attendance for people of all cultures and ages. Members appreciate the cleanliness of the changing rooms and the availability of various gym equipment.
I went to visit the centre before joining. A lovely lady Ann (the manager) showed me around the facilities. All brand new with changing room soon to be refurbished. am glad that the leisure has been upgraded. The manager was very enthusiastic, approachable and funny and convinced me to sign up. She misspelled my name, hahahahaha but thanks to the wonderful customer service from the receptionist Mia, it was all sorted. Thank you so much to both of you, you are both brilliant

The staff have typically been friendly and helpful. The gym has a good range of equipment, but the ratios seem wrong. There needs to be far more floor space for stretching/mat work (especially if someone is using the push sled by the mirror), there could be a couple more treadmills (especially now so many people just walk on them), and I've never seen anyone use the boxing machine. The music can be too loud at times too - I always wear headphones, as do most, and can often hear it quite clearly over my own. Inexpensive membership is a plus however.

If you are looking for a leisure centre that communicates THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. I’ve been trying to ring reception for an hour for an important inquiry yet no respond. What type of place make you wait an hour and not even a call back. I eventually went in and saw many female staff members just relaxing in the reception not even paying attention to their job. I tried to call right in front of their face very discreet and two of them looked over at the phone and ignored it and said “ I can’t be asked”. FIX YOUR STAFF

I had been using this gym for a few years now, and about 3 weeks ago i had a very rude encounter with a member of staff on the way into the gym. I felt completely disrespected and disgusted by how she spoke to me and violated personal space by arguing in my face. Very unexpected from someone with a position in her job like hers, i called multiple times when i left no answer and emailed too. Up to today still no answer or reply not even a call back. I will be cancelling my membership (when they eventually get back to me). Really disappointing as the other staff members are very respectful.

I am a regular user of that gym in the past few months I have had two confrontations with a member of staff there. He is borderline rude and makes me feel unwelcome. Perhaps he could be taught to accept people of all ages and any horizon without jumping to their throat when he delivers gym etiquette. I will avoid the days when he is there. He is giving a real bad vibe for the entire place. He is belligerent and displaying a total lack of manners.

We have visited several times as it is our most convenient house to access. Even better since the recent renovation. The pool area gets very busy on hot days so if you want a bed, aim to be there early. Food is always good and service has notably improved over the last 12 months. The rooms are a delight to stay in.

Located in the trendy Shoreditch area as the name suggests this house is in an old warehouse has a slightly more industrial feel compared to the other London houses. Inside the house is over 2 floors with a separate gym on the 4th floor (members only) unfortunately. Lots of room for sitting and chatting as well as dining area on 5th floor while the 6th floor has rooftop pool and another restaurant which serves pretty good Japanese fare. There is also table tennis and games area on the 5th floor. Food is pretty standard for SH and plenty of choice. Not stayed in the rooms so cannot comment on this and not used the cowshed spa which is also located downstairs. I have always found the staff to be helpful here and the vibe is very relaxed with a you get crowd generally compared to say 180 house. Pool is great in summer and even in winter is heated to enough to not feel cold when swimming. This is also I would say the most child friendly house in London with kids events often and a dedicated area for kids on Saturday and Sunday. Be aware though that all Soho House pools in London and I think generally worldwide require a child membership for kids to use them or to be a hotel guest.

Warm but neutral decor once you enter the foyer. Friendly staff at the front of house. Ate at Pen Yen on the 6th floor. The view and ambience did not disappointment! The food was spectacular, especially the pork belly. Cocktails were pretty average. Staff were attentive, some seemed relaxed whilst others appeared to be rushed off their feet. The poolside was crammed, it was a beautiful, warm evening. Very busy, as it seems an event was being held on the same floor. Your not allowed to take photos, but you can scroll on your phone. It's an experience to take in organically without phones.

Something’s definitely changed at this gym over the past year. The team feels all over the place — a bit unstable and inconsistent — and the vibe that used to feel cool and effortless now just feels kind of unkept and messy. There’s no uniform, so half the time I’ve got no idea who actually works there. The changing rooms don’t seem to get cleaned properly anymore, and I’ve started avoiding the steam room completely. It used to feel premium; now it just feels neglected. We used to have a really good connection with the management team, but that’s gone too. The only visible changes seem to be more expensive classes and some new bumper plates, which honestly feels a bit pointless. The gym floor’s dirty, cluttered, and a bit of a trip hazard, and the retail area looks like a mini Holland & Barrett — no edge, no curation, just random products. It’s a shame, because this place used to have such a good atmosphere. Not sure what’s going on, but it really feels like the team doesn’t care anymore, and that’s why I’ve left.

Amazing space, food, and cocktails! Really enjoyed the Mezcal Picante, and would highly recommend it! What lets the place down, the staffing! The staff is absolutely some of the most non attentive I have come across. Completely preoccupied chatting with each other around the bar rather than looking out for guests. Strong retraining needed. Some of them are also very unfriendly, girl with the long brown hair can definitely do better when she’s not preoccupied sipping coffee behind the desk…

Visited Shoreditch House for a business meeting with someone who has membership. I found the staff to be extremely friendly and polite. The building was tidy, well presented and welcoming. At the pool for 25 minutes. Told the rules 3 times by staff but no one to take an order. Someone else's job. Staff mooch as though they're there as a lifestyle choice, not to do anything more. Broadly the same culture across the houses, with exceptions obviously. You pay a membership for access to nice bars etc but that's it.

As with everything Tower Hamlets council touches this place is a disaster. Disgusting changing rooms, complex sign up process that they can’t seem to process on-site and really, really poor facilities for the money they charge. It’s beautiful old building. At the top a gym with friendly staff and a massive swimming pool. Underground is a nice spa as well to run independently, clean and with multiple options of steams and temperature as well a small pool of cold and hot water showers. Definitely give a chance of spend a couple of ours for yourself or perhaps a gift for a friend. I went for a hand and foot massage, that was nice (£40). The good about it was a lovely head and neck massage, good product and a hot paraffin that help a little with the joint pain. Perhaps 25 minutes is not enough time as when you start been relax the time is over and they unpolitely turn the light on suddenly to hurry you up and give you just a few minutes to dress as the technician still hurrying you as she is waiting for you in the corridor while your dress. I found it an unpleasant ending as no others customer were there waiting. ☺️

I had a female only swimming session booked recently and I arrived early as I have osteoarthritis in both my hands and it takes me a long time to get undressed. I haven't been swimming in years but know its good for arthritis but to try to get tight swimgear on, to shower to find a locker, to use the toilet etc, before I even start my session is daunting for me. My session which I believed is swimming 7 to 8pm (One full hour) was to be cut very short due to the preconceived idea about me by a very rude man at the reception because I'd arrived early. He just said I couldn't go in yet, I tried to explain 'but to change , shower use toilet etc' but he cut me off saying very loudly almost laughing in my face - ''It don't take you an hour and 20 minutes to get changed' so I truthfully replied he didn't know how long it takes me to get changed, but he just said your sessions at 7 so come back at 7 (?) I explained I won't get an hour swim if I'm only allowed in at 7pm, that's not right. I asked the earliest I could get in and was begrudgingly told me to come back in an hour. (quarter to 7) So an hours swim is not what you get but pay for, this is plain wrong. I asked if there was a cafe or seating area I could wait in but was told there is nothing at this place, there's a cafe across the road and he gestured in the general direction of Cambridge Heath Rd. I left and didn't go back. What a shock. I haven't used York Hall for swimming for years but I won't be returning and will tell others not to either. Very rude staff, indiscreet about the way they talk out loud at you, telling you how long it takes you to change without any understanding, embarrassing you and laughing in your face when you try to explain why you are early is unprofessional and disrespectful. If they treat people with hidden disabilities like this, then this place is not fit for purpose! Also, a woman was asking who to complain to just before me and was fobbed off too. I want a refund and some kind of apology from a Manager. I emailed them 3 days ago but nothing back yet, not even an acknowledgement of my email. Too many complaints to wade through I expect. My advice is go to the London Aquatics Centre, E20. 3 Pools to choose from and so much more including a cafe onsite and seating areas. The 388 bus from Cambridge Heath Road takes you straight there. It's a wonderful place with genuine decent caring staff members.

Great venue, my wife went for a 90-minute massage and aromatherapy. She came out like a rubber band, relaxed, muscle pummeled to within an inch of their tolerance in a good way. What appreciated about the treatment was the value for money. It doesn't feel like you are paying for the establishment over heads. You are laying down money for the treatment. Highly recommended.

Great facility for a swim, the water is crystal clear. Updated Spa is unbelievable for what you pay in the middle of Central London, better than any private gym or hotel spa around. Facials are fantastic and again so reasonably priced. They also supply foldable bike lockers for free :) 10*s if I could

I used to use the pool years ago before the centre was refurbished. It's always been a lovely place to swim. Better took over after the leisure centre was modernised. Currently Ironmonger Row Baths seems well run. The staff are generally friendly and helpful. The place is clean, including the women's changing room. And the swimming pool is great! Returning to swimming after a two year gap was a pleasure. The pool is also lovely and clean, well maintained. Life guards good too! Why not five stars? The women's changing room and showers could do with an update, not least the shower area and loos. But overall Ironmonger Row Baths is a lovely place! Looking forward to another swim there, maybe even a spa treatment!

OK value swimming pool near the City. £7.30 for a 50 minute session (July 2025). Pool is 30m long, which is novel. Outside lane is slightly narrow. Pace signs are in place, which were more or less respected when I was there. Water temperature pleasant, not too warm for a decent workout. Some pull buoys and kick boards are available to use. Pool is very shallow indeed at the shallow end. Changing rooms are not particularly clean, but functional. £1 coin needed for the lockers (returned when you leave). Beware, if you're booking a 06.30 swim, the building doesn't actually open its doors until 06.30 so you will pay unnecessarily for time you lose while you're queueing and getting changed. it probably explains why there were plenty of slots free when I booked; I suspect people book the 06.40 but just go in early. Finally, you have to use the "Better" app to book in advance, which is not convenient if you're not a UK resident because you have to fill in your address details and it doesn't accept non - UK format postcodes.

Iconic building. There are a few pools that look appealing to swim although haven’t yet been there for a dip. The gym section on the top floor is kitted with brand new TechnoGym equipments. Other than the occasional malfunctioning lift, it’s a far better leisure centre than many. I’m still keen to try out the pools, one of these days!

Wow! This Spa is amazing. Super clean, lovely vibe and lots of different rooms to try. Staff are really helpful and I was made to feel Super welcomed by the wonderful Wafa. Will definitely be going back.

On a good day, this is an excellent spa, however recently many of the facilities haven’t been working including the steam room, the plunge pool and all the cold water showers. The lack of cold water seems a particular shame as most people look for the hot-cold sauna experience. After three visits as described above, I sent an email. Disappointingly the spa declined responsibility instead opting for the line that everything was working (even though the desk staff had confirmed the problems). It seems a real shame those in charge don’t hold themselves to a higher standard of customer service. This would be a 5 star experience if they put in some ground level attention.

Lovely gym and spa. Gym is clean and in good condition. No queues for equipment or ridiculously loud music blaring or intimidating gym goers. Good place to go and just get on with your workout. Can recommend Helena as a PT. She’s understated but knows what she’s doing and builds confidence and results. Had a spa treatment which was very relaxing and chilled.

Water park
Beckenham Place Park Swimming Lake by PTP Coaching is a popular destination in Lewisham, offering 98 hectares of ancient woodland, meadows, and historic buildings. The park features the first purpose-built swimming lake in London, attracting crowds during warmer months. Open six days a week for sessions to anyone over eight years old, it strictly prohibits spectators to ensure a peaceful swimming experience.
Beautiful grounds with lots of small garden areas, like the mounded garden. Lovely to stand at the top and look over the park. The lake is lovely, and there is plenty of places to sit. There's a pub in the park so you can have a drink too and look out. And there's a car park on site which is free in the evening! Beautiful park and very clean grounds. Compliments to the groundsmen that keeps it tidy and the public.
Cheryl S — Google review
Cold water swimming is a fantastic experience and here it feels welcoming and friendly to get started. The water is clean and the lake big enough to get a decent swim out. The only problem is the mud when you try to change. There aren't much facilities and it would be nice to have a drier area to change with something to sit.
Jan T — Google review
The lake is a friendly and inclusive place to swim and the PTP team and 'beckenham bobbers' are a welcoming bunch. In winter you need to have done an induction. Changing is on the lakeside. There is a cafe in the park for tea or coffee and food post swim. There is also paddleboarding and sup yoga to try. Give outdoor swimming a try, you might get hooked!
Sue H — Google review
You definitely need to buy tickets in advance to swim here, it's £6 but I think it's worth it since there's not many places like this in and around London to open swim like this. The staff are really good and it's a really clean pond with a sandy bottom to enter the pond at. One warning, there's no changing facilities here so make sure you wear clothes that are easy to change in to from swim suits. Very relaxed atmosphere here though.

A wonderful park. Very spacious, plenty to see and do. Lots of activities for families. Highly recommended.

Having paid £16.50 for a 45-minute induction to cold water swimming, I was expecting to receive a 45-minute induction. What I got was a surly greeting (presumably because I’d arrived ten minutes early), followed by 15 minutes of unhelpful and, in some cases, inaccurate information. I could have done without all the background information on the so-called instructor, and would have appreciated more on the health benefits of cold water swimming, such as combatting inflammation and fatigue. These are medically proven, whereas the potential for slowing dementia (mentioned by the instructor) is currently no more than ‘a promising line of research’. More worryingly, he told us that a minute per degree is a good guide as to how long you should stay in the water when you’re a newbie. Experienced cold water swimmers have since told me that this is nonsense. The only reliable guide is how you feel. When you feel comfortable in the water, that’s the time to leave. The lake was clean, the staff monitor your activities so you feel safe, and the other swimmers are a sociable bunch. However, the facilities are either non-existent or Spartan, and the induction session - as I experienced it - was a rip-off.
Elaine H — Google review
Fantastic place and experience. You have to book in advance but it is affordable and worth it. We enjoyed checking the water temperature online the days before the swim. Lucky enough it was 22 degrees. When you arrive, you have to give your name and you will get a float - only 60 people at a time. We managed to go around the lake calmly 3 times. No rush whatsoever like when you are in a public pool.
Lewis — Google review
Fantastic lake for swimming. Reasonably priced. A few people commented on lack of changing facilities but all outdoor swim places have suspended these due to Covid regulations. Bring an extra large towel or something like a DryRobe to make changing a bit easier.

wish was possible to rate 0 ! this place is run down building! even their own engineers admit in many occasion that Heating, chilling and hot water system is collapsed! expect paying 4k + and suffering heating issues as the system is designed not to work. you might be living with minimum temp around 16-18' degrees even heating is constantly on. managers are like cowboys, they do not wanna hear any problems. they are only here for patrolling who is in and out to the building:)) This is a joke, same applies to gym area. bunch of staff - not to disrespect them but, to the management. once the tenancy on rolling month which is majority of the tenancy are rolling month these days. they dare to block your access to the facilities, postal service etc.that doubts you if you are really staying in central london and prime location with this old fashion, silly rules by bunch of cowboys! have an open case since moved back in 2 years. still denying the issues or people who was there already quit. beside that, we had no water at all for 2 weeks! no hot water for several weeks! no heating for last 2 years! my advice is clear; "do not even rent here" forget about buying!

Maintenance issues are frequent with hot water and air-conditioning being more like luxuries rarely available. Service requests often go unanswered, and repairs take weeks and repeated chasing to get fixed. I wouldn’t live here unless you like hot nights and cold showers.

I visited with my friend who lives in the apartments, she got me a sky pool pass so we went together during my trip here in London, it was so cool!
Jayde M — Google review
I lived here for 3 years and it genuinely was one of my best living experiences despite all the issues. A lot of the reviews are true with regards to water and maintenance situations a few times a year but the reality is a lot of buildings in London have the same problems, although Ballymore in terms of organisation is probably quite bad. However overall I think if you have the money and still single (as it felt like I was reliving uni years at times) it’s a living experience with facilities second to none especially in London where there aren’t that many better alternatives.

The Laboratory Spa & Health Club in Muswell Hill, London is a popular destination for fitness enthusiasts and spa-goers alike. With top-notch gym facilities, a lovely swimming pool, and leafy views from the gym floor, it offers a pleasant environment for workouts. The polite and helpful front of house service adds to the positive energy of the club. Visitors also praise the spa facilities for their calming atmosphere and friendly staff.
I joined the Laboratory club in Muswell Hill one year ago and have really enjoyed it. It is a wonderful sanctuary with a gym, swimming pool and a fantastic cafe overlooking the beautiful grounds. It is a very special place with friendly staff. I unfortunately became ill in May with a life threatening illness - I decided I needed a trainer to rebuild my strength. The personal trainer Roxani has been wonderful, guiding me through strength exercises in a fun and supportive way. I couldn’t ask for more dedication and support. I highly recommend this club.

Update: I’ve now been a member for 7 years and all what I said 6 years ago (below) are still true today. A very happy member of The Lab. The Lab is a great gym, spa and health club. I’ve been a member for a year now and always look forward to going there! There is a lovely swimming pool, and the gym floor has leafy views (very pleasing to the eye). The equipments of the gym and their class variety are alright (for my expectations) although I’ve seen gyms that offer even more. I’ve never used their beauty treatments but it’s good to know they have these facilities. The staff are very professional, friendly and welcoming. Their cafe, with an Italian chef, is an extra bonus with great coffee and light food choices. Update: I love the fact it is located on top of a hill in a beautiful garden, but there is no public transport that takes you there. It’s my little sanctuary that makes me feel relaxed as soon as I walk in and feel great every time I leave! Keep up the good work team Laboratory! Thank you.

I used to be a member at the Muswell Hill Lab Spa a few years ago, and though I remember there were issues with cleanliness, I was still going to come back to this gym as they have a proper length pool (25m) which is difficult to find elsewhere in the area and I love to swim. Unfortunately, it seems the Lab don't care much for their membership sales! I first emailed their general manager Seb asking about options for myself and my fiance - two new members! - and heard nothing back for weeks. Then decided to try their main inbox - you guessed it, no response again. You would think they would get excited by charging a premium for a mediocre service, but I guess they don't need any more new members! We will be taking our business elsewhere.

Just been turned away by one of the managers ( older lady with dark curly hair ) even though I had a guest pass and have been a paying member for over 10 years but recently moved . Most staff are helpful but never ever expected this rudeness and TheLaboratory prob need to look over their policies as another manager told me I could use my unused guest pass at a later date .

I've been a member for over twenty years. For the third or even fourth time in weeks the pool, water, showers and jacuzzi have not worked and most times the management do not inform members despite doing so some of the time. Today was a completely wasted journey: again. No more excuses. Tell us your situation and reimburse membership for times you have let us down.

I have been a member of Laboratory Spa for over 30 years with occasional breaks. I have always found the staff, equipment and physical trainers excellent. I attend 3-4 times a week, primarily for aqua classes, the most suitable form of exercise for my age. I am extremely disappointed in is the state of the Changing Rooms, which cannot have been renovated for many years. These are very damp areas and there is now significant mould in many areas of the female changing room - I cannot verify what the state is of the men’s changing room. Mould is a health hazard……when, I ask is it going to be dealt with? Natalie Baskin

The Laboratory is truly a melting pot of people of all ages, cultures, and fitness levels. It's set against a backdrop of beautifully maintained gardens, which deserve serious praise. The staff genuinely seem to enjoy their work, always offering a warm hello or goodbye, and that positive energy really adds to the experience. The café is a gem, perfect whether you're just a bit peckish or in need of a proper meal. Add in the sun loungers, co-working spaces, convenient parking with car wash, spacious lockers with hangers, and thoughtful touches like hair straighteners and hair accessories and Mill Hill’s lovely toiletries in the women’s changing rooms, which I am sure Muswell Hill will replicate whrn the renovation is complete, there’s so much attention to detail. Muswell Hill’s jacuzzi is like a massage in itself, now consistently working like a dream. And the UV pool is an absolute treat, especially on a hot day. Cool, refreshing, and invigorating. Of course, no place is perfect. There are always small things that could be tweaked. But in my experience, once you raise an issue, it’s usually addressed quickly and efficiently. To have access to a space like this feels like a safe haven. I genuinely cherish it and would recommend it wholeheartedly. P.S. A special shout-out to the jasmine-lined bushes at the entrance. What a beautiful touch. Big applause to the gardeners, the staff, the PTs, and the management team. You’re doing a fantastic job.
N H — Google review
I am really disappointed in how the spa rennovations have been handled. I joined the lab spa to use the spa facilities (as the name implies!)- there are plenty of cheaper gyms and pools around to join otherwise. While spa facilities are out of use until September, I expected it was reasonable to pause my membership. I understand for other members who use the gym, classes etc. this won't be necessary, but I have this membership for the spa facilities specifically and dont use the gym. But not only is Lab Spa charging members money each month to pause during the rennovatilns, it seems the pausing fee has actually gone up during this time - which feels like it is designed purely to discourage it and to make more money out of us. All I want is to pause my membership until the facilities I am paying to use are open again (without having to pay £120 (40x3) for the inconvience of not being able to use the spa I'm a member of- why is that not possible? It says a lot about how they value their members, and I would strongly encourage people to think twice before joining. Hopefully this can be resolved!

Very nice place to come for live music and "posh" atmosphere. As I visit UK not often, my fave food is fish & chips, and it was nice, I also judge by the quality of tartar sauce)) The waiter was very nice and talkative, very attentive! I would definitely come for cocktails later to check them.

The park is home to diverse wildlife and habitats including meadows, woodlands, wetlands, and ancient oak trees.
Such a gorgeous and peaceful park! We enjoyed a lovely family picnic here and it’s definitely the best park in London. The pergola is one of its best kept secrets and the peaceful and serene atmosphere feels as though it isn’t even in London. The deers were a great surprise for the kids and it was the highlight of the whole day. There’s convenient transport links and nearby entrances make visiting a breeze. We’ll definitely be back, and I can’t wait!

Hampstead Heath is always my first choice of parks in London. Compared with Hyde Park and Regent Park (which also have stunning views and atmosphere) in the downtown area, where it would inevitably be too crowded with tourists, Hampstead Heath has more room for you to relax and engage with wild breezes. I have visited this park many times over almost two years, and every time I visit, it can always present me with something new. Since it’s a really large park and some areas may remain underdeveloped, it’s necessary to bring a suitable amount of water and other supplies to ensure you won’t be disturbed by thirst and battery-life panic. It’s always a good idea to wear hiking boots and be careful with the holes and mud pits.

By far, the best park in London. It’s massive, and the ponds are incredible amenities. Visiting this park during summertime is priceless. The boys pond gets busy but friendly vibe, just bring your picnic and enjoy. You can book in advance or queue to swim. There aren’t lockers but it’s super safe to leave your phone and stuff while you swim.

Hampstead Heath is one of London’s most enchanting green spaces — a sprawling natural haven that feels worlds away from the bustle of the city. Its mix of open meadows, ancient woodlands, and shimmering ponds creates a perfect setting for both adventure and relaxation. Swimming in the Heath’s famous bathing ponds or the outdoor lido is a unique London experience, while the panoramic view from Parliament Hill offers one of the city’s most iconic skylines. Whether you’re hiking through wooded trails or watching the seasons change across its fields, the Heath captures the beauty of untamed nature right in the heart of North London. Beyond its natural charm, Hampstead Heath offers plenty of cultural and leisurely delights. Kenwood House, with its elegant architecture and impressive art collection, adds a touch of history and refinement, while Golders Hill Park’s small zoo provides a family-friendly surprise. The Heath’s open fields are perfect for picnics, casual sports, or simply unwinding under the trees. There’s a laid-back, bohemian energy that attracts artists, runners, and dreamers alike — making it not just a park, but a vibrant reflection of London’s soul.

Hampstead Heath is the best park in London (if you can even call it a park). It’s so big that you can pretty much find a quiet spot for yourself and your dog any time, even on weekends, when it gets a bit busy on the main paths. It’s absolutely gorgeous, especially in autumn. The only green space you’ll ever need.

I walked 11 km and was only able to explore 15% of this gigantic paradise in London. If you are in London, you must spend a day here—with your loved ones or simply with your soul. Visiting this place gives you a deep sense of peace, like you’ve done something truly good for yourself.
Raheel R — Google review
Suspiciously beautiful, in fact. The kind of beauty that makes you wonder if you accidentally walked into a perfume advert. The grass? Immaculate. The trees? Whispering sweet nothings in the breeze. The people? Jogging like they’re being filmed for a BBC wildlife documentary titled Urban Gazelles of North London. Somewhere between the birdsong and the shirtless sunbathers, I had an existential crisis and an overpriced ice cream. Would recommend this to fellow Londoners. Final verdict? 8.5/10. Too much beauty. Bring sunglasses. And possibly a monocle.

Cédric Grolet at The Berkeley is a bakery located in a historic West London hotel. It is the acclaimed pastry chef's first venture outside of France. Offering stunning views of Hyde Park, this bakery provides an extraordinary French pastry experience. In addition to traditional offerings, visitors can enjoy a globally-inspired tasting menu at Cedric Grolet's Counter, complemented by Champagne. The gouter menu follows France's snacking traditions and has been praised as a successful reimagining of afternoon tea.
We had the champagne Afternoon Tea and it was amazing. First they brought out mini sub rolls, each one a different type of bread and filling. Next was a mini scone with cream and jam. Then the main event arrived on an elegant stand. The fruits were filled with a gel and encased in white chocolate. There were biscuit bites, meringues and pastry piped with flavoured cream flowers and nutty caramels. The food was exceptional, the service was perfect and the toilets deserve a visit.
Lynda B — Google review
Is it a must try? Absolutely! At the Berkeley, absolutely not. The location is within a hotel lobby and it is reserved for guests staying at the hotel. If you are a walk in. Be prepared to be asked to sit outside or have it go. Now as for the food. I have never in my life had a $25 cookie that actually tasted like a $100. Yep that’s right. Although croissants were just that. It is absolutely $$$$. With all said, I would still go back. Place is 🔥🔥🔥
Black C — Google review
The time and effort that goes into this craft is incredible, the “fig” was incredibly delicate and so well balanced that one can easily eat the whole thing. The croissants have countless layers and are made to perfection. The coffee is also very good and not something to snuff at. Yes, it’s expensive, but deservedly so. The boxes are mirrored gold on the inside and open and close magnetically. The to go utensils are solid wood. The store itself is immaculate and an experience in and of itself. You’re paying for the craft, attention to detail, elevated ingredients and the luxury of it all. Is it worth the high price tag? That’s for you to decide, but you don’t book a stay at the four seasons because you need a place to sleep, you do it because of everything else that elevates that experience. To me, this was 100% worth it.

Beautiful pastries with incredible detail and flavor. Be prepared for the price, but the presentation and experience are top-tier and worth it. We split the vanilla flower cake and it was one of the best things I’ve ever had. Bonus points for the bathrooms 😂
Heath S — Google review
I’ve been following Cedric Grolet for quite some time, so I was really excited to finally try his famous desserts. The presentation was absolutely stunning as expected, everything looked like a piece of edible art. Taste-wise, it’s definitely subjective, but I personally enjoyed them. One downside was the seating experience. Despite the restaurant having quite a few empty tables, I wasn’t offered a seat, which felt a little odd. It seems that securing a table might be easier if you’re staying at the hotel. That said, it’s still definitely worth trying at least once, especially if you’re a fan of pastry craftsmanship.

Crystal Palace National Sports Centre is an iconic venue with a 1960s glass and concrete design, hosting various sports such as football, swimming, and athletics. It holds historical significance as the swimming venue for the 1948 London Olympics. Over the years, it has been a stage for world-class athletes and intimate events like British wrestling. The center's rich history and versatile facilities make it a must-visit destination for sports enthusiasts and history buffs alike.
Attended a Jiu-Jitsu competition here recently as a spectator. The facilities were good—clean, well-maintained, and spacious enough to accommodate the event comfortably. The viewing areas provided a decent view of the action, and accessibility was well thought out. That said, the layout was a bit of a rabbit warren, and finding my way around wasn’t the easiest. But once I got my bearings, it was fine. Overall, a solid venue for a sporting event. Well-kept, accessible, and a good atmosphere throughout the competition.

CPNSC really needs a lot of investment the centre is run down. The swimming pool is closed and hopefully will reopen in December 2022. The Centre needs a good clean up. There is a small cafe inside the centre football pitch and the dome at the back of centre. Tennis courts available and running track and also rock climbing and many more indoor and outdoor activities available here. There use to be a lot of weekend events but not so many now. Hopefully fingers crossed this place will get the help it needs and the glory days can come back here soon.

Not the easiest of places to get to even if you live in Croydon. A lot of confusion between this and Crystal Palace Football Club Stadium - thinking they are both one and the same. However, seems to be a well loved venue, there's purpose built spaces for a variety of sport activities. Situated right next to the lovely Crystal Palace Park. Beautiful.

I competed in a Weightlifting competition at the excellent club which is on the side of the NSC. The park is excellent to walk around. However, years of underinvestment has meant a continuing decline in the facility. The pool is empty now and the corridors that once teemed with athletes from many different sports are quiet.

Nestled in the heart of London, Swiss Cottage Leisure Centre is more than just a typical leisure facility. It offers a 25m pool, gym, full spa, climbing wall, sports hall, squash courts and outdoor football. The spacious gym features glass windows overlooking the park and various studios for classes. The center also boasts a spa with steam rooms and sauna for relaxation and rejuvenation. Visitors praise the professionalism and kindness of staff members like Yola who make their experience even more enjoyable.
Nice sports centre. The sports hall is in the basement, and the water foundation is in the gym on the 1st floor. Walls of the sports hall are mostly grey, with one side with white bits and windows and a bit hard to see the shuttle. The ceiling is white as well.

It’s a great centre. The amenities are commendable. It is a perfect weekend space for family and kids. The best part was that the showers and changing rooms were clean. Too clean honestly. The sauna and steam is great too. Just the steam room was a bit smelly, perhaps because it was a weekend. But I am not sure, it was my first time there. But overall, really enjoyed my time there.

Great leisure centre. In the 3 years I’ve been a member they have vastly improved the gym. Please continue to introduce new equipment and expand the gym size where possible. The gym is clean but there is poor etiquette when it comes to cleaning equipment after use and returning dumbbells correctly. The sauna area is big but I personally wouldn’t use it as it’s been unhygienic and chaotic the few times that I have.
Harry M — Google review
Stupid membership rules. Cant even freeze my membership unless I have proof of a medical problem. Why cant it be frozen without a reason? Good way to lose more customers. Also, there is a 20 day notice for cancellation, so they will take your money for the next cycle too. Furthermore, the sauna stinks. I will be moving to pure gym and I recommend you all to do the same. They have freezable memberships without any questions asked.

This gym is decent, I don’t really have any major issues here but would like to bring to the attention of the management/staff that the access for disabled customers parking was not working correctly. I’m a blue badge holder and struggle with stairs, so I use the disabled parking spots underneath the centre - unfortunately the buzzer to request access to the actual building has not worked every time I’ve been there…. All you can hear is the staff at the reception desk talking to each other but they don’t seem to be able to hear the buzzer ringing - maybe due to a tech fault or something but I’ve mentioned it to the staff there a few times who said they have reported it but it never seems to have been repaired. I’d usually call the desk to ask for assistance but the number is for Better Health customer service not the actual Centre… makes it pretty difficult to use the gym! If this got fixed or disabled members were given an access card or something then it would be so much better!
Amy-Grace A — Google review
The gym at the Swiss Cottage sports center offers a wide range of quality equipment, and the space is bright and welcoming. The staff are generally polite. However, the gym’s cleanliness is an area for improvement. On one occasion, I noticed a staff member, Paulina, thoroughly cleaning the machines, which highlighted that regular cleaning is needed. The pool is spacious and well-lit, but the water temperature is too cold, and the pool area’s floor is often dirty. It’s concerning that people walk barefoot from outside the pool area and then enter the water, bringing in dirt. This diminishes the overall experience and raises health concerns.
Alessandra — Google review
I've been attending this gym for many years. Unfortunately cleanliness has always been a problem. I always cleaned the gym equipment before and after using and studio floors were always dirty and dusty when attending yoga and pilates classes. More recently, I've found that while attending swimming classes with my baby the pool area and group changing room are really nice and clean. The instructor is great and makes the most of our time as its only 30 minutes ( unlike Kentish Town facilities and instructor) unfortunately the pool is still not warm enough, most of the babies cry on entry to the water.

West Reservoir Centre is a public water sports facility affiliated with British Canoeing & Royal Yachting Association. Additionally, the adjacent Woodberry Wetlands offers a scenic post-swim walk.
Lovely staff, simple and informative induction. Tow floats provided. Red/pink/orange swimming caps required (purchasable on site). It was my first time there on a Monday evening and it wasn't too busy but nice seeing people ending their day with a swim. Some people were doing a proper swim session but a few (myself included) had a nice chat and swam with friends. Plenty of space for everyone along the routes. Booking through Better is very easy. Your name is on their system so you don't need to bring up your booking when you arrive, just give your name.

Gorgeous place for an outdoor swim. One way although route with different distances between 50m-400m. All the normal open water swimming rules apply: ie cap must be worn, no swimming on your back or they'll assume you need assistance and kayak over to check on you. Only downside: It's a bit expensive for non-members. The facilities will be nicer once the big upgrade has happened (due to start summer 2025).

Richie B — Google review
Really lovely spot to swim in London, just be prepared to follow a whole bunch of rules - fine if you're a regular, but it can be a bit overwhelming if it's your first time. If it's your first time I recommend arriving at least 10-15 min before your booked slot cos they 'brief' you on all the rules. You have to wear a pink or orange swimming hat, if you don't have one you can buy one for £3.75. They explain the direction you can swim in and the routes you're allowed to swim in the reservoir. You're not allowed to do backstroke. You have to wear a flotation device attached around your waist, which is helpful for resting mid-swim when you get tired. Once you're in the water you're not really allowed to get out and sunbathe/rest and then get back in, but this is fine as it's easy to rest in the water and not feel the need to get out. All in all it cost £16.90 to swim here with the cost of the swimming cap included which is quite expensive especially considering all the rules you have to follow which make going there for the first time not a very easygoing experience. Hampstead heath ponds are a more relaxing experience for much cheaper if you want more of a 'wild swimming' vibe that feels more like a social spot to hang out with friends, this spot feels more suitable if you live nearby and want to use it for regular exercise.

Generally a great swim location in a sunny day. Unfortunately they occasionally don't seem to have enough staff to cover safety so close off The bigger loop as happened to me yesterday. Today due to the sheer number of people today there was a queue of 12 to get a tow float (a requirement for entering the water). Only a certain number of people are allowed in the water -which I understand- but either there are not enough safety peeps, or the management are trying to cram in too many people….. 🤷🏼‍♂️. Don’t get me wrong, i love this place and the staff are great (despite what other reviewers say) and cope well with the more than occasional entitled Stokie resident. Also turn up on time! 10 minutes late and you don’t get in. Please don’t take it out on the staff it’s not their fault.
Kevin S — Google review
Terrible experience! Website for bookings is about as useful as a blind lookout. Was told on arrival I had to buy a swimming cap, then had a patronising staff member shove endless rules down my throat, was told to wear a plastic wrist band then told to take it off and strap more inflated plastic crap to myself, can only swim in a line, cant go on your back. Covered in plastic crap. Ruined all the joy of swimming. DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. Joke of an establishment.

Golden Lane Sport & Fitness offers a bright and modern pool with allocated lanes for water workouts and scheduled family swim times. The gym, though small, provides an adequate amount of machines and is not too busy. The staff is friendly, and membership includes free towels. While the facility lacks some essential gym machines, it has been recently renovated. The pool could use some serious cleaning, but the affordable price for central London makes it an attractive option.
Really hope this place gets the local support they need to keep it going and to make general improvements - e.g showers. The staff are really sweet, always trying their best, it’s just quite annoying when the swimming schedule is changed so often or cancelled last minute (I think because of staffing issues) - especially when I’ve taken the time to block off a few hours of my day. Also - as we’re approaching summer time would be great to extend the swimming hours and have some continuity with this schedule please instead of such sporadic timings. Thank you 🙏

Very very very bad customer service. Was trying to book a lane in the pool, for 10 lessons, and was messed about and gaslit by staff including Scarlett Hayward. This is not how to treat a professional seeking to PAY for a service.

Quite simply the worst run swimming pool I have ever used. Repeatedly cancelling morning sessions. Repeatedly promising refunds that never arrive. Then deleting morning sessions altogether. Switched to evening sessions to find them, without warning, cordoning off 5 metres for an unannounced session (it’s only a 20m pool to start with!) It’s a beautiful historic pool being run very very badly. Oh yeah, and their HQ doesn’t respond to complaints. I am sad to say I’m defecting to the nearby Ironmonger Public Baths.
Byron T — Google review
Been taking my two kids here for swimming lessons for over 5 months now, weekly lessons, twice a month you’re guaranteed their lessons will get cancelled on the day- no prior notice, just under an hour before they’re due to begin in most cases. The swimming lessons aren’t managed very well at all! None of the children in that class have moved up a stage, no updates from swimming instructors on when either, when lessons got cancelled they used to issue refunds without any issues until Rhonda started managing and it all fell apart. Weeks and weeks go by without any refunds, no reply to emails, no reply to phone calls, given the runaround by staff who all have a different spin on things when you finally get through! If you go in there’s apparently no managers available, does this Rhonda even exist?! We get told she’s the only one that can issue refunds yet she never seems to be in, never replies to emails calls etc… Absolute shambles. Completely mismanaged. Other parents whose children attend swim lessons seem to be having the exact same issues too, and the funny thing is, they admit to other people having the same problems yet do absolutely nothing to solve them! 3 weeks and counting and still getting absolutely nowhere. Any other business triggers refunds automatically without people having to nag them to death! Cancel your memberships and move elsewhere like i’ve done, save yourselves the hassle of dealing with non existent managers, and swim lessons that don’t seem to advance. Contact your bank for assistance they were great in dealing with them directly.

Joined last month and have been really impressed so far. Great price for the area for membership and the options available are great. Mainly use the swimming pool, which is always well set out with lanes. The gym is small, but there are an adequate amount of machines available and is not too busy when I have visited. Staff are friendly and the free towels for members are an added bonus!

I shall miss this place ( YMCA ) hugely! They were a real sanctuary and a constant throughout my life! Always there unconditionally and it's so sad what's happened! The incompetent, corrupt management run this place down for years so they could sell the building to a developer. A scandal and a disgrace. Large gym, good equipment, good price compared to other gyms. I have full membership and the price is reasonable. Unfortunately some of the staff (only a few though) appear to be unfriendly been going for two weeks they rarely smile. It can put members who just joined off. Men’s changing room not always clean. Swimming pool is large but has no water in it!! No information on how to hire towels or how to find the sauna! The staff on reception are friendly though. I am a bit disappointed with the atmosphere!!

I went to this YMCA for a group cycling instructor course. Adrian the tutor for the practical was amazing! He explained everything perfectly and I had a great day. Shout out to Alan in the YMCA cafe who made me a personalised special smoothie! He also does a great selection of wraps for the lunch break! I would give 5 stars if the admin side of my course were better- there wasn't great communication and I got my theory part of my course pretty late.

If you are thinking of joining DONT!! This place is an absolute disgrace I have never been so appalled by an establishment in my life. The pool was salty and gave me an ear infection, the equipment was broken and dirty and there were human feces left on the toilet. I honestly feel sick to my stomach even thinking about it. I celebrated my birthday here with my friend. We didn’t make any booking so decided to try to walk in and were able to get a table but in the main part with the yard view. I didn’t mention at any point that it was my birthday but as my friend gave me a gift, our waiter, Raja, noticed it and congratulated me, he also arranged a table with the view once one got available and a little brownie. He was also constantly checking in to make sure our evening is going great. I really really appreciate his service and with people like Raja hospitality can truly thrive!

Disappointing Experience - Not Worth the Hype I was hoping for a relaxed, enjoyable evening, but it didn’t deliver. The 21+ rule after 5:00 pm felt unnecessary and off-putting-like we’d somehow turn into troublemakers after 5:00pm. The view was nice, but that was the only real highlight. Our table and glasses were sticky, and the food came out cold. Staff were polite but overly pushy, and the whole thing felt rushed - like they just wanted us out as quickly as possible to seat the next group. I had specifically noted in the booking that it was for a birthday surprise, but clearly no one had read it. There was no mention or acknowledgment of the occasion, which was really disappointing given the context. The cocktails tasted nothing like described on the menu more like a random mix of ingredients thrown together. When we asked to have the optional service charge removed, we were questioned about it, which felt awkward especially considering the cold food and lack of attention to the booking details. Overall, it felt more like a rushed production line than a place to enjoy a special night out. Nice view, but not much else. I wouldn’t go back or recommend it.
Isaac J — Google review
Myself and my friend got some small plates to share. The food tasted good, but considering how extortionate the price was and how absolutely minuscule the portion was, I was not impressed. It wasn’t the best thing I’ve ever had, and it would’ve had to have been to make up for the price and lack of it. The same applies to the cocktails- they tasted fine but £18!!! And in fun size glasses!! I’ve had far better tasting cocktails in larger sizes and at much cheaper costs. Overall, I wasn’t too impressed. To top it all off, we had to pay a £10+ service charge; our waiter didn’t even get us a single moment to deny doing so, which I thought was extremely cheeky. The atmosphere was lovely nonetheless.
Simone S — Google review
We stayed at the hotel and were told to just to upstairs to the rooftop at any time and we’d be accommodated as guests and Platinum Honors members. We were turned away by the young hostess. By some “miracle” just as we were about to get the elevator to go back to our room a table mysteriously appeared. I’d like to say that that’s never happened to us before but I know better. Once we got up there, it was a decent enough experience. The food was passable and not terribly expensive by London standards. The drinks were good. The service was a touch spotty. I almost gave three stars, but it’s more of a 2 1/2. The best views are at the bar area and we were in a place where the view was okay, but not spectacular compared to other places we’ve been to. We nevertheless had a good enough time. We love the hotel, so I’m sure we’ll be back. And perhaps we’ll have a better experience next time. This one was not awful, but it also wasn’t something to write home about. I’m only writing about it here. Hopefully we’ll be able to update this with a higher review come winter.

Cocktails ’n columns. Great views over Trafalgar Square and well made cocktails. It was let down a little by somewhat frosty service and constant reminders of when the table was needed back

Nice cocktails, but nothing special for the price. Haven’t tried food. You are paying for the view. Booked table for 4 in advance. Unfortunately, got one right behind the speaker, so was hard to talk.

The rooftop is really beautiful and the view is great. My husband and I booked the terrace, the weather was very cold so we asked if there was a table inside and they kindly accomodated our request without any problems. The menu is pretty much spicy and mexican, since I do not like spicy food I asked a plain hamburger and the waiter (Raj) checked with the chef to make sure there was no trace of it in my dish. I really appreciated the attention and professionalism. I reccomend this place for a pleasant evening in a central location of the city.

Date of visit: 24/01/2025 This place is absolutely lit (literally). I came here all by myself on the evening of my 27th birthday specifically to get my picture taken at a rooftop bar and it worked out beautifully. The staff are lovely and there is a great selection of beverages to choose from. The seats also have built in heaters and come with blankets as well as fire heaters outside, hence “lit”. 10/10 would come again 👍🏼👍🏼

We used to be regular happy customers here and visited often. Unfortunately, our last experience was extremely disappointing. I had already paid for my child to enjoy the small swimming pool, but we were asked to leave by the manager in a very unpleasant way. I always noticed that some of the staff weren’t particularly friendly, but we chose to overlook it for the sake of my child’s enjoyment. However, after being treated so poorly, I decided to cancel my child’s membership and will now be looking for a different place. Very sad to see how the atmosphere and customer care have changed.

If they actually tried to stop people pushing through the gate for free they may be able to offer proper paper towels rather than toilet roll on the gym floor Edit: great to hear one week later you have replenished the towels.. Regarding gate security it's simply not true. People shamelessly wait in the reception area so they can run through the gate as people leave or force arms through to hit the exit button so they can force the gate. Staff routinely turn a blind eye to all of this (and I don't blame them, management should fix the system)
Sirbarletta91 — Google review
Out of all the better gyms, this is the most unkept. The baby pool had so much mould, and algae under the slide. Make sure you take a pair of slippers the floor looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years.

Feedback on Pool Visit This was our first visit, and I want to start by saying the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The little one really enjoyed the pool and especially loved the slide. The locker room and shower facilities were okay, though a bit outdated. I understand it’s the school holidays, but it felt like too many people were allowed in at once. It also seemed that some visitors were staying in the pool beyond their allocated time, even though wristbands were provided. Additionally, I noticed the main pool floor wasn’t very clean, which was a bit off-putting. Overall, we had a good time, but the experience could definitely be improved with better crowd control and cleaner pool conditions.

Hydro pool, sauna, steam room, infrared sauna, monsoon shower and an amazingly calm dry chill out area. I will definitely be booking again. Staff at the leisure centre go the extra mile and are so so friendly. Well done Kensington Leisure Centre and Thankyou

The main pool is lovely but they wouldn't allow my 3 year old to use the kids pool because 2 people were having lessons. The whole, massive area was blocked off and out of bounds for 2 people! The squash courts are the most expensive around and are falling into disarray. The floors are warped and one court has been under construction for over a year. This place has a lot of potential. Just needs better management.

First visit this evening - went from work and forgot my towel! Met Isaac on the front desk and he couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming… grabbed a towel from the spa for me. Loved the pool here - great facility and staff so friendly. Will definitely visit again .

Such a shame, this is my local leisure centre, it provides good facilities for gym, swimming, etc. However, as of recently they have banned folding bikes from being brought into the leisure centre to be locked up behind the gates. This is my method of transport to get to the centre, and given ever rising bike theft in London, and no real guarentees about the safety on outdoor racks for expensive bikes I'll have to be cancelling my membership. I've been told that this "comes from the top", where clearly the single centre manager had a knee-jerk reaction to some bad actors leaving bikes in the wrong place.

Unexpectedly excellent gym and pool combo in West London 👏 Dropped in for a gym session while a friend went for a swim. We left in near disbelief at how well everything is run here. The gym floor has range. Heavyweights, isolation machines, cable stations, sled turf, a few rigs, functional gear. I clocked someone coaching a HYROX-style class—pacing, lunges, ski-ergs. Nobody looked bored. It’s that kind of space: enough structure to keep people moving with intent, but relaxed enough not to feel like you’re in someone’s way. Equipment? All in good shape. Not one machine out of order. Clean to the point of invisible—no mess, no smell, no nonsense. Staff downstairs were straight-talking, helpful. Didn’t try to upsell anything. Just laid out the options. £45/month gets you full access to both gym and pool. You’d spend more than that on two cocktails in this postcode. The pool, according to my friend—who’s training to swim across the Bosphorus—was near-perfect. No complaints about temperature, length, crowding, or condition. And he does complain, often. If you’re nearby and tired of overpriced boutique spots or worn-out chains, this place is a proper find. Might not look like much from the street, but once you’re in, it just works.

The facilities themselves are good but the service is hit and miss. The staff are generally nice but the organisation is not good. Twice we have booked swim sessions in the morning only to turn up and be told that the pool is closed. An simple email or call could have prevented a couple of needless journeys.

This leisure centre is steadily going down hill. The staff there are all depressed. None of them are happy and this is primarily because of their manager. Apparently, he's a bully and has no clue how to manage staff. He was previously at Swiss Cottage and it's reported he wasn't well liked there. This centre has so much potential but it's going down the drain.

Nestled in the heart of the community, Britannia Leisure Centre is a vibrant sports facility that caters to all ages and interests. Opened in 2021, this bright and airy space boasts impressive pool facilities, including a 25-metre swimming pool with six lanes and a dedicated training pool for lessons. Families will love the colorful aqua play area featuring a splash pad, toddler pool, and an interactive waterslide designed for kids aged eight and up—complete with themed games!
I went there the other day after years of not going there. I didn’t even know they refurbished it over covid time. The place is much more modern, as the previous building was very old and dated. More floors, and more sports halls available. There’s so much more to do here now, with excellent views from the gym and studios. The tennis courts are on the roof too, which I found very cool! I’d be going more often to check the place out properly.

A place where you can spend a great time with your young ones. This facility offers a lot of activities for both adult and children which includes swimming training or just a quick dip into the pool with your babies. The pool is also accessible for individuals with special educational needs which is really amazing. The huge slide inside is also worth to try. Just do not forget to bring a coin to access the lockers; you can get your coin back before you leave. Baggy park, vending machine and cafe are also available inside. You might not be able to bring phones or camera to take photo inside.

We were invited to a birthday party with exclusive access to the interactive flume, pool and splash pad. We had been before during a public session and my little one loved it. My only issue was with staffing. Originally they were not opening the flume due to being short staffed. Thankfully they found the staff but in general didn't seem to have been informed that a party was due. Aside from that it was lovely to see how well used the leisure centre is. We saw water polo, volleyball and kendo with all ages taking part. We will definitely be back. It's a fantastic venue for a kids party.

I came here with my daughter for the Aqua play. We haven't been before, but I was impressed by the extensive facilities available at the centre and would come back to try more. There were ample changing rooms, including family sized cubicles. Lockers near the entrance to the pool. No outdoor shoes allowed in the changing area so keep that in mind! My daughter absolutely loved the splash pad. She said it was the best day of her life! There was a good of variety of things to play with. The sessions get booked up really fast so I was expecting it to be heaving, but I felt that the maximum people allowed was fine. The staff at the splash pad were really on top of things. They kept the number of people at a manageable level so it was not overcrowded, checked in on children that appeared to be unaccompanied, and stopped a couple of people that were filming on their phones (which I was thankful for). Overall an enjoyable experience - a great way to beat the heat and tire out an energetic 4 yr old!

Our visit to Britannia Leisure Centre was absolutely fantastic! The splash pad was the highlight – my baby had the best time splashing around, and it felt completely safe and well-maintained. There was so much to do, from water play to exploring the different areas designed for little ones. The staff were friendly and the facilities were clean, which made the whole experience even better. I’d highly recommend this place to any parents looking for a fun and family-friendly day out. We’ll definitely be back soon!

My kids do swimming lessons here and they have some great instructors. They under 2s class can be a bit hit or miss as instructors have changed quite a lot and there hasn’t been much consistency as classes get cancelled quite a lot too. I also don’t understand why the under 2 classes are much more expensive than the old kids class as they just sit in the water singing nursery rhymes. My older child has progressed pretty well though and I put that down to the good instructors and structure of the classes. Quite clean compared to other leisure centres too.

I attended the women’s swimming session at Britannia Leisure Centre on 1st October 2025 and, unfortunately, had a very stressful and unpleasant experience. I wear swimming goggles that cover both my eyes and nose because I have nasal sensitivity and cannot see properly underwater without them. Despite having attended the same session the previous week without any issues regarding my goggles, the lifeguards insisted I remove them. We explained the situation and were directed to speak with the duty manager, Thomas, who eventually allowed me to continue wearing my goggles. However, the lifeguards remained visibly unhappy, creating a tense and uncomfortable atmosphere throughout the session. Towards the end, another lifeguard approached me to insist I remove the goggles again, while a different lifeguard abruptly told us the session was over. One comment in particular—“You weren’t talking to the manager for 15 minutes”—felt dismissive and unprofessional. It was frustrating to have what should have been a relaxing swim turned into a stressful series of interruptions. I also noticed inconsistent enforcement of pool rules. On a previous visit, another swimmer in the deep end was allowed to use a pool noodle without issue, while on 1st October, a similar situation resulted in that swimmer being asked to move to the shallow end. This selective enforcement caused confusion and made it difficult to trust that rules are applied fairly. I fully appreciate the importance of safety in the pool, but it should be enforced consistently and respectfully. Swimmers should be informed of any restrictions before entering the water, rather than being interrupted mid-session. People attend these sessions to swim, relax, and unwind—not to experience tension or unprofessional behaviour. Overall, while the pool and facilities are fine, the staff’s inconsistent enforcement of rules and the confrontational approach to my goggles made this session highly unpleasant. I hope management reviews staff conduct and ensures that policies are applied politely and consistently in the future.

Ive been rexently dissopointed with the duty of care that i have been given by the centre , ive been coming to the centre for 4 years , even before the old site was open , i dont bother anyone , unfortunetley i may have to consider leaving due to the fact they refuse me letting my ebike in the centre , i have left my bike in the centre for almost 2 years now without a problem , now one of the managers have demanded me to leave it outside which is not only left me feeling dissheartened but insignificant . I came here to relax after a hard days work and now im having to be there with the fear of having my bike stolen from right outside the centre. (Where peoples bikes are notoriously being stolen from) Before i tried to raise this concern the manager said 'outside the center has nothing to do with them' so its left me feeling helpless , i mean ive been coming here almost every day, with the new mangement giving no conaideration to some type of way they can secure my bike , i have a shop of my own and i know if i dont at least try to sympathise and provide some help the cutomers will leave , however this center seems to not really be listening to signifiacant issues like this which doesnt make me feel welcome anymore.

I swim at this centre three times a week, and unfortunately, the cleanliness of the indoors pool and changing rooms need major improvements, unlike the outdoors lido. - The indoors swimming pool floor and borders are full of dirt and debris - The showers have visible mould growing across all sides - The showers ventilation system is in poor condition, with dust and dirt visibly coming out of the vents - The changing rooms are rarely cleaned. Unlike my experience at a previous Better centre (same membership price), where a cleaner would come around once every hour, I hardly ever see anyone maintaining the facilities here. This is a health hazard and a proper cleaning schedule and better maintenance are essential to make this facility safe and hygienic for all..
Letizia L — Google review
This place isn’t worth the hassle. It was run to the ground by Fusion and taken back under council management about 6 months ago, but nothing has really changed. The lido opening hours are very restrictive – the pool closes at 10 am on the weekend. Unsurprisingly, it’s packed for the few hours that it is open. (Apparently the hours are because they can’t hire lifeguards, but you’ve got to think that the terms they are offering staff must be very poor if after half a year they can’t manage to hire anyone.) The pool temperature fluctuates massively and is often extremely cold. Showers are often out of service. Cleanliness is very poor. Has the potential to be an amazing community resource, but it’s become a headache just trying to go for a swim. Shameful.

Woah, what an incredible experience. The pool is so lovely and refreshing, 10/10 would recommend! The staff are lovely, particularly the women who is regularly behind the desk called Sabrina. She is so helpful and lovely, she makes my day, I always smile when I see her!

Love this gym, cheap and cheerful. Everything you need in one place (if in working order). The best thing about this gym are the classes/instructors particularly by Curly & Mel!

I have been using this facility for over a decade. Showers always have a problem. Sink in the ladies' changing room is always blocked. Not impressed by the cleanliness of this place. They increase the monthly payments and the level of service/facilities doesn't increase along with it. Front staff are friendly as always, swimming teachers are great at what they do (if you grt the good ones). Lido is good. Diving pool and sauna available. It's my local pool where my kids can learn to swim so I just come for convenience. They've recently changed management, so maybe things will improve.
Casselia G — Google review
Oh dear, what should be a cherished community resource is being wasted by lazy, disinterested staff whom I can only presume are a reflection of a management team who just don’t care! Today, a beautifully sunny day, they closed the lido and kicked everyone out. What should have been a lovely day by the pool was ended abruptly and having closed the pool for 2 hours they wouldn’t let people sunbath on the grass and wait for it to reopen. A lack of thinking and common sense and a total waste! Simply not good enough…… zero stars for the management!

I really only review places that I find have been unfairly maligned. Although I've only been a member for two weeks, and since Haringey council taking over, I can attest that it's a beautiful (outdoor) pool, the mens change rooms are largely clean and the staff have been very helpful. Any downsides are off-set by the chance to swim out in the open at a fairly affordable rate. I've moved from a Better leisure centre that felt in comparison like a black mould deep breathing exercise. This is much more preferable and the leisure centre has exceeded (fairly low) expectations. My only gripe are not-fast swimmers being in the fast lane, but I won't die on that hill!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I absolutely love the environment at this gym—it's welcoming, motivating, and full of positive energy. I especially want to give a shoutout to the classes with Peter. Wow, shocked by the state of mens changing room showers. This looks like a health hazard! Also the sauna is always rammed and most people don't have a wrist band...you are missing out on revenue you could spend on cleaning the showers.

Surely, if you won’t heat the water nor the room the pool is in, to a temperature that is save for small children.. you wouldn’t realistically be calling the swim session ‘swim for all’ would you? We went with two 3 year olds, and they both had blue lips and were shaking after 5 min in the water. It was so disgustingly cold, every person old or young we passed in the water, was just discussing the water temperature. I went and asked one of the staff how many degrees the water had, and he said 27?! You can’t allow babies in the water and advertise it as a swim for all type session if you’re not even reaching 30 degrees. Everyone shivering and shaking and being miserable. And let’s not even start talking about the state of the changing rooms. No need to reply by saying we should get in touch with management or anything really. We simply won’t be coming back, what a waste of time and money. And most probably about to wake up to a cold tomorrow.

I received an alert on my app informing me that I had missed my sauna appointment and would be charged £3. I remembered hearing about a similar issue with another member, and the receptionist had waived the charge as a gesture of goodwill. Considering this, I decided to go to the reception desk. At the reception was Nicole. I informed her about the £3 charge and politely requested that it be removed as a gesture of goodwill. Nicole responded in a manner that suggested she didn’t want to be at work that day, stating that the charge couldn’t be removed without offering any explanation. When I pressed her again, she became irritated, called me rude, and threatened not to serve me for questioning her response. I persisted, and only then did she mention that the charge could be waived if there was an emergency. I informed her that there had been an emergency. She then referenced the terms and conditions with a sarcastic smile and said that the charge had been removed. I urge management to review the CCTV footage and provide further training on how to treat paying customers at the leisure center. I do not expect to be spoken to in that manner or to be called rude for simply inquiring about the possibility of a refund for £3

I have talk to the receptionist twice about what happened . Today the lady told me that is the Swimming pool guard's job not them. very disappointed, i hope the management team have some solution to sort out the problem. Thank you

The gym upgrade in Peckham it's amazing 💯 I couldn't wait to return to my gym, I've been training here for the past 3 years and none of the other Southwark Leisure Centres compare to Peckham 😊 Staff members are friendly and professional. I was hosted by Phil today, who did a show round, and of course James, as always very welcoming. Totally recommend.

Peckham pulse / Southwark leisure centre is a great local, community gym. The hours available are great. I just wished that they had adult hydro pool available after spin class ( group cycle). I’d love to do an early morning spin and shower then have a swim in the hydro pool which I find quite relaxing. They have a wide range of classes available and they always seem packed and popular. I enjoy the total stretch and chai class with Julia. Spin class is absolutely amazing with Isaac, Theo and James. They have great music selection and know how to motivate the class!. My fitness levels have definetly improved. I always smile when I finish my workouts. The gym facilities and equipment are great. If you want to use weights it’s a great place to strength train. The swimming pools are good. They are clean and very family friendly. However sauna times should be extended and open to members in the mornings. I enjoyed the personal training taster session Kyle. It was great to understand how to use the equipment properly, which has increased my confidence and now I can use the equipment properly and independently. Kyle used his personal training skills to encourage us if he sees us perhaps not using equipment properly and pushes us to do our best, which I appreciate! I am not happy with the pigeons coming into the building because of the damaged roof and a leaky roof that drips water on your head as you walk-in and up and down the stairs it’s grossly unhygienic and seems to be an on going problem. Southwark council need to fix this issue ASAP. Tip is to wear a hood over your head when you walk up the stairs! Déjà who works front of house on reception is really helpful and so pleasant and staff generally wish you good morning and good evening and do their best to help and guide you, which is great customer service. There is a Good soft play area for children and my child enjoys playing there. It would be great to have a sanitary pad dispenser for women in the bathroom and also a better range of drinks and snacks in the vending machines for adults and children. The ladies toilets always seem to have an issue with most of them in the changing area not being able to flush. Please correct the flaws and not drag on the work needed to repair the faults. This gym has a lot of happy regulars and loyal members. Some big improvements needed in areas mentioned. But it’s a happy space with good facilities, good lighting and polite staff. Edited to add literally hours after I posted this review I noticed workmen in the building attending to the roof repairs! I also saw them in the ladies changing area so I’m assuming the toilets will be fixed too! Is this coincidence or just quick accountability whatever it is it’s great to see this happening! Fantastic news😃

I visited the hydro pool yesterday for the first time.... WOW!! The staff couldn't do enough to help and explained how everything worked really well. The water was 35c which is perfect and everything was spotless. Well done !! Edit: have been visiting here for a few weeks now. Staff are absolutely outstanding at this facility and its a super price! My only niggle is the hydro pool has been a bit cooler recently, would really like this to be kept on top of as I visit for a medical issue. Unfortunately visited yesterday and it was the same temp as the main swimming pool. Would love longer hours for the sauna and steam room :)

The customer service leaves much to be desired. I know we're in London, particularly in Peckham, where people often seem indifferent. While I don't expect every client to greet me, I've been a member of the same gym for nearly a decade, and the staff and personal trainers often make eye contact without offering a simple hello. It's quite disappointing to see how society has changed. I work in customer service myself, and while I don't aim to be friends with my customers, I always make it a point to acknowledge and greet everyone.

Calisthenics at the Peckham Pulse with Kyle is amazing. I've always wanted to learn the basics of calisthenics, just to strengthen my holistic self. Kyle demonstrates and breaks down each movement for his students, he is very encouraging and has great humour and costumer service skills.

Again, a poor review from me. Not been for a while due to injury and came back today (still paying full membership in the meantime). My normal routine is a warm up and some distance running followed by rowing and stretches then a swim. I checked the swim schedule which said it was OPEN. After my workout, I went to swim and was told it wasn't open to the public, and was booked for swimming lessons from 4pm til 7pm every day. I work early mornings and have done for years. I normally attend gym between 5pm and 7pm as it's the only time I have. I have a family too so going the the gym later won't work for me. I'm paying full membership and have done for years and now I'm being told I cannot use the facilities when I need to. One staff member suggested to use camberwell. Nope, there's no parking there. Dulwich is currently closed and Surrey Quays is the same parking issues. I really don't understand why Peckham keeps treating members like this. I understand kids need swimming lessons, but work it around us that are paying full membership. There's one thing peckham leisure centre is consistently good at, and that's upsetting people.

Kentish Town Sports Centre is a hidden gem in London, offering a refreshing escape from the usual chaos of public pools. With three distinct swimming areas, including a 30.5-metre lane pool for seasoned swimmers and a family-friendly 25-metre pool, it ensures everyone can enjoy their time without the hassle of overcrowding. The centre also features an extra shallow pool perfect for little ones just starting their aquatic adventures.
I absolutely love my gym, Better Kentish Town has truly become an essential part of my routine and overall well-being. The facilities are always clean, modern, and well-maintained, with a great variety of equipment and spaces to suit all kinds of workouts. The staff are friendly, supportive, and always willing to help, which creates a really positive and motivating atmosphere. Whether I’m hitting the weights, taking a class, or just enjoying some time in the pool, I always leave feeling better than when I arrived. It’s such a welcoming place that makes fitness fun and rewarding!

I’ve been attending this gym for a while, and while it does have some positives, there are several major issues that need to be addressed. First, the organization of the free weights is a disaster. There’s no system in place, and people don’t bother to return weights to their designated spots. While the staff makes an effort to tidy up, they simply can’t keep up with the constant mess left behind by members. The gym’s layout is another major downside. One section is always overcrowded, while other areas remain practically empty. This poor design isn’t just inconvenient; it’s also unsafe. Equipment is placed too close together, creating a risk of injury. Whoever planned the setup clearly didn’t consider functionality or safety. On the positive side, the natural light is fantastic. The large windows fill the space with daylight, creating a more pleasant environment. Additionally, the gym has plenty of new equipment, which is a definite plus. The swimming facilities are also a nice bonus for those who enjoy using them. However, cleanliness is a significant issue, particularly in the men’s toilets. They are consistently dirty, and the smell is unbearable. For a facility charging full price, this level of hygiene is unacceptable. Overall, this gym might be worth it if you qualify for a discount (e.g., for unemployment or disability). But at full price, there are better and more affordable options nearby.

Overall, the centre is decent, but the loud, low-quality radio is a major issue. Constant ads disrupt focus during workouts, and most members rely on headphones to block out the noise, or just listen to their music often at harmful volumes in order to cancel the background undesired music. A silent hour daily would greatly enhance concentration and align with your “Better Health” mission. Alternatively, consider replacing the music with soothing white noise, like a fan, to create a healthier, more focused environment. I urge management to review this policy for the benefit of all members.

I love this centre, I use it for the pool and it’s by far the best one in the area. Changing rooms are clean enough and the showers are good. The pool is quiet and clean with lovely natural lighting. Crucially there’s a whole separate room for swim for fitness to the training pool, so no kids interrupting your lengths!

Very good Southwark Council leisure centre at the Elephant and Castle. I was there to try out the newly refurbished gym. But the Centre also has two swimming pools and a sauna. The newly refitted gym is light and airy and has all the latest equipment from Pulse Fitness. The new changing facilties are also excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended.

Update #6. Yeah, so if you only want to use a gym (and have no use for a pool and badminton courts), and you pay for the privilege, leave the Castle Centre (nice as it is) NOW, and move to the Gym Group gym down the road as it's a better gym at a lower price. It'll be at least £5 per month cheaper, and that's if you missed the opening offer, and assuming Southwark council doesn't put the prices up at the Castle Centre in April (but of course they will, so the price difference will get even bigger). The issue with the Castle Centre gym is it's run by the council so it's entirely focussed on people who don't pay to get in – the kind of people who break equipment – and sees anyone who does pay to get in as a sucker. They spent a month doing it up and didn't refund that month's membership fee, because that is how council people think. 'Hey just use the pool instead' (no thanks) 'or use our gym in Peckham' (definitely no thanks; it's like a prison gym.) Anyway, for legacy reasons, here's the last update to my review of this place: To my utter amazement, the gym here – previously a total dump – has been fully renovated and given all-new equipment to replace the malfunctioning, rusty crap they had before. I have to admit I’m seriously impressed. Let’s hope they can maintain it, and discourage the more moronic part of their clientele from misusing equipment in insane ways, which must have contributed to the dire state of the old equipment. Please note, the lockers now require a padlock – the ones that used the old-style pound coins (not the current pound coin; that would be way too simple) have been replaced.

I recently had a very disappointing experience at Castle Center. Unfortunately, the visit was marked by issues with their booking system, inconsistent service, and a lack of proper resolution. First of all, I booked a court for a doubles game, which, as everyone knows, requires four players. However, when we arrived, we were informed that only three people were allowed to play. This contradiction was confusing, and despite explaining the situation to the staff, they refused to acknowledge any mistake, preventing us from having a proper game. Additionally, I encountered an issue with the reservation process. When I initially booked using my English name, my reservation was not recognized. Yet, when a similar booking was made under a different name, it was suddenly accepted. This inconsistency was concerning, and it left me feeling that there was unequal treatment based on the name used during the reservation process. To make matters worse, despite the confusion and inability to use the court as intended, my request for a refund was denied. I felt this was unfair, given that the booking system and communication failures were not on my part. Overall, I left feeling quite frustrated with the experience. I hope Castle Center can improve its booking procedures, staff communication, and fairness in handling such situations

I'm so happy with the gym, the machines are new. It has different classes to train. The personal trainers are friendly, but they get the best out of you and are strict. Sometimes, I feel like I'm in the army 🤣🤣.After a strong session is a nice finish in the steam room or the swimming pool. And also, the relationship between quality and price is the best.

I started as a full paying customer and now i have ended up canceling my gym membership. The main problem i had was that i originally signed up to the gym at another Southwark location and then moving over to the Castle Centre (which i did pay the difference). After sending numerous emails and talking to the staff behind the reception (with the small desk in the corner that has been purposely set up for membership inquiries). They still couldn't make these changes in the system. Therefore, i could not use my pass to enter the turnstiles and i had to go to the reception every time of my visit, to take out some time because the ques can take some time. One time i had gone to the lady with the glasses to make this change, she must have looked at the screen with a blank look for a good 5 minutes and couldn't figure why this change was being implemented. I was always told to email this person to make the change and i would never hear a reply back. Which i emailed around 5 times in total.. Thereafter, I ended up canceling my membership via email (yes another email once again), and yet.. no reply.. i was charged for 4 months after i initially canceled my membership. It wasn't until i went inside my bank account and canceled the direct debit payments (I would have still been charged to this day if i hadn't done this). I had to go back to the gym (this time to Surrey Quays) and explain the issue and show the email i sent and with my bank statements. And now.. they said that a manager isn't available and that he/she is in meetings. Apparently, this manger has been stuck in meeting after meeting for the past month. Please somebody rescue this unknown person!!! The manager is just never available for some odd reason. I just gave up like any person would.. It sad to see the council being ran in this kind of way.. especially when they invested so much in this building. We don't just need a building to look nice, but a building that runs well and serves the community in best way. Because that's why this building was re-built, no? A great advise is, its usually not the place but how people run an establishment. In this case, most people that work here clearly don't have a clue what they are doing and the procedures need to be reviewed in a major way. Pros: - New building - Quite new machines, however, i have found the treadmills to be falling apart and being fixed with duct tape. - Clean swimming pools and sauna/jacuzzi areas. - Great cafe staff Cons: - Some front desk staff need be trained on customer service. Some do not know what they are doing and aren't doing their job to the full extent. A simple smile and a hello would be nice as you enter. Most staff look so miserable.. - Due to the "free and swim", over 60 free membership and other free schemes. You would find the facilities very busy and overly crowded at times. I have tried to the sauna/steam rooms and found that i couldn't due to woman's only and over 60's session. It would be good to know these things before i enter the changing rooms and get fully changed, to later found out that i can not access these areas. Cleaning is done at 12-2pm, therefore, say goodbye to your sauna and swim session. Hence, these schemes and not allowing me to access these facilities at times have made me regret paying the full membership and has now made me cancel. - Not enough signposting, a layout of the building would be ideal in the main communal areas. - Overly crowded on weekends, sauna and steam rooms are completely packed. - Training/class rooms are not being used most of times, and when they do, they are usually jam packed. More trainers and classes are needed.

In all the other centres when booking badminton courts had never limited 4 people per court. They were rude, unprofessional and giggling behind the desk when i expressed my frustration. They said this policy changed for a long time, yet no one was informed of this rule. Another rule they said was that only until everyone arrives, we can enter the courts. This is just stupidity as we ended up wasting 15 minutes of court time... when we could have used it for knock ups, training and games.

The Castle Centre boasts an excellent gym, 2 swimming pools, a sauna and other function rooms for different classes they put on throughout the week. I have been a member for some time now and have always had a pleasant experience with my visits. The team is friendly and always ready to help out with any queries. Definitely worth signing up to this centre’s membership!

Located in a striking Brutalist building near Somerset House, 180 House is the newest addition to the Soho House chain. The rooftop pool offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Thames and the City. Each floor has its own unique atmosphere, with a cozy interior and artsy vibes throughout. While membership is required for entry, visitors can enjoy delicious food and drinks in this large, bustling space.
Delightful place for drinks and food with impressive view on the city. I loved the atmosphere, service was super quick and professional, friendly positive staff. Food was good. Pizza prosciutto, steak and sweet potato chops were delicious! Also tried their pudding and it was yummy! Even through we were sitting on a terrace we felt was warm and cozy. Enjoyed the evening!

Lively, great vibes including interiors and even music later on in the evening. We had dinner, drinks, and even managed to snap the incredible London skyline view from the bathrooms (sorry Nick Jones).

Stunning vistas, posh vibes, one comment: no photos allowed! It’s like Instagram rehab with a view. The panoramic scenes? Unbelievable. Staff? Think of them as exclusive… and a tad hard to flag them down. But lovely once you do. Once you’re planted in a plush chair—cocktail in hand—you’ll feel part of the cool‑kid tableau. It’s where being seen is the point, and frankly, I felt it. Too bad I couldn’t snap that moment for proof. Still, you’ll want to linger all day (and night). Just maybe bring a butler app and get comfy, you’re in for the full Hollywood‑meets‑London club aesthetic. Might not be allowed back based on photos snapped. Sorry, not sorry. It’s for the people.

Great food, great setting, great service. I’ve been to other Soho Houses throughout London, but this is the epitome of what they should be. The view is also fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, and felt my gluten intolerance was taken into consideration. The server notified me in regards to which dishes could be made without cross contamination, and even double checked with the chef to see if they could make the TFC (fried chicken) safe. They hadn’t used the fryer that day, so I was able to order it safely. It was a standout! My only complaint is that there aren’t enough gluten free options for mains! I was only able to order the Seabass dish. It would have been nice to have a choice!

What a cracking space Soho House have made at 180 The Strand. The setting is spot on, the vibe is excellent, and it should, in every sense, be a first-class members’ spot. But then you encounter the service - and in particular, one waitress - who goes by the name of “Kay” whose attitude belongs anywhere but here. When asked the most harmless of questions (whether they sold cigarettes), her response wasn’t a polite no, or even a neutral shrug. No, she muttered “Jesus Christ” under her breath - and then proceeded to shout, dripping with disdain as if serving paying members was beneath her. There’s being brusque, there’s being short - and then there’s being downright bloody rude. She managed to achieve all three in one fell swoop. Sour, charmless, and about as professional as a wet ashtray. Every house has its quirks, but this was beyond. In a place designed for warmth, service and style, she is the sour note that makes the whole thing ring false. Soho House deserves better than to be represented by someone so bitter, bored, and utterly void of grace. Shame on you Kay- shame on you!

Virgin Active Repton Park is located in a beautiful building with lovely grounds. The staff and management are friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The facilities are well-kept, clean, and looked after, especially the jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and pool area. It's a welcoming environment with diverse trainers catering to different needs. While some areas may need improvement like the size of toilets or cleanliness issues mentioned by some users, it still offers a positive experience overall for its members.
This gym truly deserves 5 stars! It’s an incredible place to not only work out but also relax and recharge. The trainers are highly knowledgeable and passionate about helping members achieve their goals, making every session feel rewarding. The spa area, with its pool, sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi, is perfect for unwinding after a workout. The staff are always welcoming and kind, creating a warm atmosphere from the moment you walk in. The cafe is also a great spot, offering a fantastic selection of healthy options, smoothies, and hot drinks—perfect even for getting some work done. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a complete wellness experience!

Repton park customer service is on the decline. Front line desk are always courteous and welcoming. However, the changing rooms are appalling and an infection disaster waiting to happen. Towels are left in a mountain pile. What was once a spa retreat is now a place where people are shaving their selfs in the steam room . The pool is supposed to be actioned by staff to ensure swimming is followed in a lane. Not happy

A good club with a large swimming pool, ample variety of gym equipment and timetable of classes on offer. Love the smoothie bar too! One downfall is that the Wednesday Yoga Calm class was cancelled a few months back despite being fully subscribed to, and I found that the type of yoga offered during this session/ the instructor provided more beneficial exercise for me than the Yoga Calm class held on a Tuesday night. Unfortunately I can’t make the other days/ times that Claudia offers, but understand that’s because of my personal schedule. This was a little disappointing. Also, there is only one offering of Reformer Foundations which I think is a really fun and beneficial class, just have to be really quick to book onto it! Would be great to see multiple sessions of the ‘fan favourite’ classes offered throughout the week. Otherwise, a great local gym :)

The staff and pool make this place! It would be a total 5 star with the wrist band entry and deep clean and refresh of changing rooms. (They are tired and floors seem beyond a good clean now because of age and usage) Frustrated by the fact that the staff here are not allowed to put you down as 'attended' or look you up on the system and give you a mark, if you have forgotten your card. Apparently other virgin active gyms allow you to do this - but not Repton Park unfortunately 😕. Message to the managers - it seems a strange way to do business? I understand you want to encourage people to remember their cards. My yoga calm on a Tuesday night with Natalie is my 'go to' of the week. The room can be a bit chilly sometimes - but with a hoodie nobody cares and we are all inspired by this special person. Such a treat. I llove coming here and it has an excellent vibe for a gym. It's an experience rather than just a gym in my opinion. Thanks for making my life better with you in it Virgin Axtive.

Updating my review from 4 stars to 5. This gym has recently undergone a revamp. The equipment available is now in my opinion very good and effective. There are multiple cardio achiness as well as power racks. The spa facilities are very good and there are many classes. The cafe also boasts a large selection of smoothies and protein shakes as well as food. Pleasent staff, clean good facilities and lovely regulwrs. Thanks guys see you again.

Terrible client care. Firstly I was offered a guest pass to try the Repton Park Club and didn’t receive the email. If you try to call their customer care line you will be greeted by a lady who’s response to every question you ask is. ‘I wouldn’t know, you have come through to the head office’ absolutely zero initiative or effort to help, what’s the point in answering the phone then? The David Lloyd Chigwell club down the road are amazing and have their act together.

Virgin Active's recent renovation has elevated the gym experience with state-of-the-art equipment and modern facilities. There are also various classes available, making it an attractive option for those interested in different sports and activities.
Friendly and helpful staff. The Swimming pool is on par if not better than those in expensive gyms. Court booking is easy, the gym and the court are nice. Facilities are not world class but are enough for leisure play. 10x more value you get here than those ridiculous packages at David Lloyds. A real shame it is closing down next year. Going to miss our friend Jay there.

This place is shutting down, and it shows. They’ve already started gutting it, but they’re still open, still charging people, and still acting like it’s a functioning gym. It’s not. Had to wait 20 minutes for a dumbbell because they moved half the weights somewhere else. Tried to hit the treadmill instead—three machines in a row, all broken. Wasted my time, wasted my money on travel, and left without even getting a workout. After seeing the state of the place, there’s no way I’m risking the pool or steam room either. To top it all off, I watched them move a massive fridge up the stairs while people were using them—zero concern for safety. This place is a joke, and they should’ve shut it down already instead of squeezing every last penny out of members.
The R — Google review
The swimming pool is easily the best quality/price in the area. It’s not fancy and facilities itself might be a bit old but they try to keep it clean which is nice. I’ve been to all pools in the central London and the cleanliness/hygiene is much better in comparison. Refurbishing pool and sauna was a good improvement although took a long time.

A joke. Rude staff in pool - this was some time ago. Manager tried to get me to sign up for a membership after I was verbally assaulted by their pool staff (for no reason) when i went to try the facilities. Went to Nuffield instead. Their membership is £110 per month but at least they treat you as a valued customer, not a nuisance.

I had not been to this venue for many years, but it remains an oasis of calm in the very heart of the city. From pool to gym, dance studio to cafe, facilities are excellent, the ethos unique and a cool vibe. Membership incredibly cheap for what it offers, even as an informal meeting place or resource for local schools etc. Long may it continue.

The incompetent, corrupt management run this place down for years so they could sell the building to a developer. A scandal and a disgrace. These people need to be hunted down and made answerable for what they have done to this incredible community and city. I have no doubt they will pay for what they have done one day. Kenwood Ladies' Bathing Pond is a natural swimming spot located in Hampstead Heath, London. It is a popular destination for locals during the summer months. The pond is divided into men's and women's sections, with an additional mixed pond open during warmer seasons. This location is suitable for experienced swimmers who want to enjoy a natural swimming experience. Visitors appreciate the beautiful setting and well-organized facilities, including the option to book in advance and the presence of lifeguards.
Thumb up to the lifeguard in the office who checked on me after I found myself staying in the 11 degrees water for 45min… as a first timer at the lady’s pond, I was so pleased with the swim + bird watching that I overstayed before being hit hard by after drop. A warm shower subsequently obviously worsened it. The life guard noticed it and offered me hot tea and sweet, which helped tremendously. Lesson learnt. And will be back!

Great to connect with nature and get a wild swim in. Really cute coots nesting in the pond and other wildlife. Lovely sense of community and you can easily get chatting to other women
Aimee S — Google review
The pond itself is lovely, the wildlife etc. And the meadow for afterwards is clean. It's a shame you have to pay now and it's more than my local pool. The main issue is the staff, who are very rude always snapping at you for going to the wrong place, doing the wrong thing, even if you do it by mistake. They do not have customer service training. It makes the swim quite stressful. Since Covid now you have to book you have to log in at exactly 12 noon on a Monday otherwise you can't go all week.
Amy J — Google review
I can appreciate that it may not be the easiest to manage a queuing and booking system but it does not excuse the staff from their rude and controlling behaviour. I arrived today asking whether they might accept walk-ins in case no shows arrive, as they usually do, and honestly, the staff acted like I was trying to get into Berghain. I didn’t mind waiting so I sat on the bench, but was promptly told to leave and not to sit on the bench as it was confusing for them to manage those booked in vs those walking in. They were unnecessarily rude about it but I just brushed it off. When I came back at the time they’d specified, a dozen people had already queued up (somehow they were permitted to sit on the bench). The staff then scolded another visitor who had come to ask a question because the visitor wanted to leave for 5 minutes before joining the queue (apparently she was not allowed - wild) and told her off for not wearing shoes because ‘she should be wearing shoes walking around’. Everyone around was shocked by her behaviour and it created a really negative vibe to an otherwise lovely place. When sunbathing after my swim, multiple other visitors were expressing that the staff is unnecessarily rude as well. Maybe figure out how to manage a queue while also being kind! It’s a lovely place and it’s a shame the staff ruins it.

The pool offers professional lessons with patient instructors, making it an ideal place for both beginners and experienced swimmers alike.
Small and nice swimming pool, 1-2m. What stands out here is the very kind instructors, small class sizes. Facilities are very clean. I took a beginner scuba lesson here. My child took beginner swimming lessons. I cannot recommend highly enough for ab initio.

Annette is an amazing instructor. My 3year old has picked up so much because she loves her teacher! We've done some back to back courses and whilst all the instructors are competent and nice in our experience Annette has been a game changer with our little ones learning and this has had a massive impact on her willingness to learn and advancing her swimming capabilities. The swim school in itself is nice warm and welcoming with a lovely pool, ample of parking. Beautiful little swim family!

Small pool with great teachers and nice facilities- have 2 girls learning to swim at OakleighPark swimming pool and they love it.
Amir G — Google review
Not overly impressed. 1. It costs a little more than Better as it's a business rather than not-for-profit/community-spirited but that's balanced out by smaller class sizes. For the younger kids the teachers are in the water, unlike Better who only do that in the baby pool. 2. The changing facilities are OK (apparently they're grim at the other venue in Whetstone). The mums can go into either changing room and the dads can only go into one - weird. There's a couple of showers (which isn't enough) and a solitary hairdryer on the wall that's coin operated so forget about drying your kids hair. Also, the viewing gallery is small but in the warm weather you can sit outside which provides a much better view. 3. The pool is 8m by 20m. I assumed my daughter would be swimming 20m but she only swims the 8m at a time (which isn't enough for her ability) because they have 4 or 5 lessons in parallel. 4. The part that bothers me most, though, is the badge system. At the end of each term the kids attempt to achieve a badge/certification, but that seems based on how long you've been a customer (i.e. ££) rather than ability. My daughter started in January (before she turned 6) and is a strong swimmer, and clearly the best in her group, but come badge time she was only allowed to do the first badge whilst the kid who had been there more than one term but was clearly not as good a swimmer, did the next badge up. We were told our daughter can do that badge next term. We didn't renew for the next term because a) they didn't invite us to and b) our daughter had a trial at a proper swim club and was accepted (again proving she should have done the higher badge) so we've switched to that instead. 5. Finally, the teaching staff seem pretty good. There's a couple of very good swimmers amongst the older kids, so the teaching appears effective in the long term. It just didn't work for us and we happened to have a better option offered to us.

Not appropriate for families. Poor customer service. Unfortunately I have to write this review as Oakleigh have refused my refund request, and offered no solutions to my issues. Really poor business practices and not what I expected from a family business. Oakleigh park do not offer trial lessons and you are expected to book an entire term of lessons based on faith alone. There are no family changing facilities at the centre. Viewing area is outside the pool. I would advise any new students to look at Waterbabies or GetSetGo for swimming lessons for their child which provide a family friendly environment with excellent customer service.

Had a fantastic spa day experience at the Antara Spa in Chelsea Health Club which is situated within the grounds of Chelsea Football Club. Very good staff from the those on reception to the therapist who were superb. Huge changing room with lockers that were combination code (so much easier than having to find a £1 coin). Jacuzzi, swimming pool, sauna, steam and cold plunge pool were available. Multiple showers, towels and water available to drink. Lunch menu is small but delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and only knocked off a point because robes and slippers were not provided when we were under the impression that they would be. Just take your own flip flops with you. Avoid match days too! It was a non match day when we went at the end of Jan 2022.

Use of facilities included in my spa deal included large swimming pool, sauna, robe, towels etc. Spotlessly clean and not busy. 4 stars because of the following: no pre-treatment medical sheet, treatment room was chilly and massage bedhead was by the door plus during these Covid times, I'd prefer a therapist to wear a mask. (Cafe food was great quality but the coffee cups have ridiculously tiny handles: great coffee, badly designed cups. Maybe folk in Chelsea have thin fingers?!)

Used a travelzoo voucher to book a spa experience for myself and two daughters as my it was my eldest daughter’s birthday. There was a complete mix up with us having received email confirmation of three treatments each. When we arrived on the day it was clear that we only had one treatment each. The manager was very apologetic but understandably couldn’t offer additional treatments as their schedule didn’t allow . He did offer to send us a compliment spa experience. That was two days ago and I have not received anything, not even a written apology which I think is very poor.

To set the record straight, both Third Space and Lloyd are over packed and insanely busy in peak times. Third Space in Canary Wharf has 6,000 members, Chelsea HCS has between 600 and 700. Membership is £205 for all hours. Great facilities in Fulham with free parking, you are saying it has low value? I think that whoever quoted Third Space needs to go there between 5pm and 7pm. £300 a month ticket is not factual statement. The club has a family feel to it and everyone knows everyone. Very warm and close knit team. Many members are Chelsea, which adds to the benefits list. Someone commented on service and said, but I have not used the spa, interesting. It is best to come for a trial day and see it for yourself. What is true is that the club can revoke your membership if other members are not happy with your ideas of how you should spend time in the club. Roman has used the bar at the club for so many years as his place of choice for meetings, are you saying Roman would spend time in a substandard location? Google for Business sometimes needs a good editor. This is a world class club.
Alec E — Google review
Horrific customer experience with the membership relations team. They cancelled my membership because they didn't want to refund me for their unreliable service. The club suddenly decided that they will shut the club for three days in September (Sat-Mon). I am a weekend member and asked to get a refund. They offered me back two guest passes which is of no use as I can't use the club during the week. They preferred to cancel my membership and forego the future cashflow instead of refunding me for the month of September which was entirely rightful given their unreliable service and cost of finding alternative gym for me.

Love Open Water Canary Wharf is a newly opened outdoor swimming spot located in the heart of London's business district. The 600m lifeguarded pool offers a unique experience for solo swimmers and families, with waterside changing huts provided. The venue welcomes individuals aged 10 and above to enjoy the water, which is regularly tested to maintain excellent quality standards. Visitors have praised the friendly staff, urban location, and clean water with pleasant temperatures for swimming.
Clean and clear water! Had my first swim today and it was glorious. Fully booked Sunday 12.30 slot with swimmers of all abilities. With so many first timers, I did notice they did run out of swim buoys so perhaps being your own if you choose swim without a cap (as I do). Now I’ve got my wristband the entry will be much smoother!

Great move by Love open water in CW. Passed by today and they were setting up for launch. Changing cabins availabe on site. Not sure about lockers or bag storage areas whether they are available? Water looked pleasant. Cant wait to take the dip! ! I Will be sure to update the star rating after the experience.

Went there today - first but definitely not the last time. Staff is friendly, location is different (comparing with other ponds - Highgate,Hyde park but these two has got their qualities) this is proper urban. Water is clean ( you can see people next and around you when swimming unlike in places I mentioned before) and temperature was 18.3 which is really pleasant. I have been without swim suit and really enjoyed it. Would I recommend it - YES - as I enjoy cold/open water swimming and bonus is it's only few stops from me.
Dragan S — Google review
Gorgeous location. Clean water. Facilities slightly limited but there’s a loo nearby and a changing hut. Staff are friendly and helpful- been a joy to swim after work or on my lunch break and no stink of chlorine!
Christina J — Google review
A totally unique and breathtaking place to swim, it was surreal to be in the water surrounded by skyscrapers. The water was a bit cold but once you were moving about it was fine. The staff were so lovely and helpful. There are changing rooms but the Canary Wharf public toilets are nice and clean so I used them instead.
Ella — Google review
Really enjoyable swimming location. Water is lovely and surprisingly clear, although colder than expected so might be worth bringing a wetsuit if you plan to swim for a while. There's a nice spot to sit in the sun before/after. There appears to be 2 swim huts so would recommend arriving ready to swim and maybe a swim robe to change under after. There are toilets nearby. Bags are kept behind the desk in a pile which seems relatively safe but there's no system so I wouldn't want to leave any valuables there.
Isabelle — Google review
Great new spot to swim in London - quite bonkers to be swimming surrounded by the big buildings (and office workers drinking). Water is surprisingly clear but felt a touch chilly than other open water venues. The only downside is the lack of changing room so arrive ready to swim (and be prepared for a public towel change afterwards)
Ellie S — Google review
Regrettably we had a really poor experience. The online booking enables you to book onto a waiting list if water is already full for a time slot. We were on the waiting list and arrived at the water for our first visit in order to swim, or wait if we needed to. There were no other waiting list people in attendance, the water wasn't at capacity and yet we were refused access to the water by the very overly stressed manager of the water. We left feeling like we had done something wrong because of the tone in which she spoke to us. I get someone can be stressed but there is such a thing as customer service and courtesy. It makes me feel i'd never want to go to a ACTIO facility again. They are very overpriced in my view anyway - £8 for a swim. It was a real shame because it seems they have very lovely volunteers.

Brockwell Park paddling pool is a hidden treasure in the heart of London, located within the beautiful Brockwell Park Gardens. It's a haven for families looking to beat the heat on scorching days. The pool has extended opening hours compared to others in London, staying open until late September. While there may be some confusion about certain amenities like a sandpit, visitors can still enjoy a nearby playground with a large sand play area.
Great paddling pool open earlier than most paddling pools in London and longer than most of them ( till last week if September). Also, daily opening hours are quite long. Near entrance is hanged small map where is marked sandpit, which I think is not actual ( or I'm blind because I couldn't find any) but it's OK because in a playground ( located 2 minuts walk from the paddling pools) in the same park is a big sand play area.

Pool filled of brown bits look like mud or leafs, brown water, never cleaned. But it is close to the playground it has no life guards

Great fun on a very hot day, but I heard it's now permanently closed due to an overlooking security camera.
