Jazz club
Bar
Live music venue
Nestled in the heart of Soho on Frith Street, Ronnie Scott's is a renowned basement club that has been a cornerstone of London's jazz scene since 1959. Founded by saxophonist Ronnie Scott, this iconic venue has hosted some of the world's top musicians, including legends like Ella Fitzgerald and Miles Davis. The club features two distinct spaces: the main room for headline acts and 'Upstairs at Ronnies,' an intimate cocktail bar with live music performances every night.
This is a club that has been around for 65 years so seems to have really withstood the test of time. So much so that they are expanding next door. The acoustics are really good and it's a really nice vibe. I guess your experience will also depend on who you see that night. We were there on a Sunday night and it was completely packed. We did not eat there as we were told the food is mediocre. If you are looking for live music, I highly recommend.

An absolute gem in the heart of London. Even if you are not a lover of jazz its definitely worth visiting. Excellent service with outstanding food and drinks bot alcoholic and non alcoholic. The jazz bands are amazing and atmosphere was wonderful. Definitely worth booking in advance and the seats in the pit area are definitely worth trying. The spaces between tables is tight but is okay because the atmosphere is so great.
Tugkan D — Google review
Haven’t been here for a while and certainly not since the refurb. From start to finish, service from the reservation staff through to the waitress was excellent. Excellent acoustics (we saw the legendary Bob James and his new trio - excellent drummer and decent double bassist - sax guy on stand-in was ‘ok’) and fabulous atmosphere. Expensive though. Tickets, food and drinks totalled about £150 per person. You can of course skip the food! I had a ribeye steak and, while it wasn’t the largest cut of ribeye, it was perfectly cooked to my preference. Huge crème brûlée with pistachios. Delicious.
Jezzer P — Google review
We have been to Ronnie Scott's before and we like the friendly atmosphere. Each waiter/waitress looked to serve a max of 6 tables each. Our waiter was superb, he was warm and approachable. The main act on this occasion was Paul Gambaccini the BBC radio presenter, who was in company with Ian Shaw who we haven't come across before. Ian has a great singing voice, and played the piano and sang some classic songs. In-between he got got Gambo to talk about some of the many musical stars he has met! Overall a fantastic event. We will be going again!
Neil — Google review
If you love Jazz you will love this place! We bought restricted tickets as that was all that was left at time of booking but we were sat right to the side of the band and could have a bit of chat with them. Went for food which has had mixed reviews but we found very good. A very enjoyable night out
Angie G — Google review
Me and my twin sister went to Ronnie Scott’s to celebrate our birthday and had the best time! The atmosphere is great, the club is small but intimate and the food was amazing (best salmon and sticky toffee pudding ever!). The band were called C3 and they blew us away, really energetic, fun to watch and really talented. It is on the pricey side and not much room to dance but I would definitely recommend. The waiter Massimo took really good care of us and we had the most memorable birthday.
Gemma C — Google review
We had a great evening at Ronnie Scott’s—everything about our experience was exceptional: our seats, the food, the drinks including mocktails, the service. And the music was exceptional. We especially enjoyed drummer Ziggy Zeitgeist, who was spectacular.

Gorgeous place . Be ready to wait 1+h to enter and make sure you come earlier and be at the start of a queue. The only thing that I didn’t know is that service charges were automatic, no other option. Great place tho ‘

Old Street Records is a vibrant venue in London that hosts live bands and offers delicious pizzas and cocktails. The establishment features an intimate basement bar with jazz nights, bespoke cocktails, and authentic Italian pizzas. It's known for its red-lit space with a cozy ambiance, making it a popular spot for local artists, new hits, and jazz classics.
Really enjoyed our night at Old Street Records! The pizza was delicious - we tried both the meat and veggie options and loved them. Cocktails were spot on, especially the espresso martini and the Hugo. The live band added such a nice touch and made the whole night feel special. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. It’s just a great spot to relax, enjoy good music, and hang out with friends.

Great vibe, live music, and amazing deals! Had an awesome night at Old Street Records! The live music was top notch — great energy and a solid mix of tunes. Cocktails were on point, and the pizza + drinks deal is such good value. Perfect spot for a fun night out with friends. Definitely coming back!
Natasha W — Google review
Definitely love the vibe of this place. The music is really lively and so is the music. Personallly a fan of espresso martini and omc. Everything was so on point. The food was really amazing , we asked the staff to customize it and then also they did everything without even saying anything. The staff was really very helpful and smiling. Specially Haid, he served us reallly well.
Monica K — Google review
Amazing bar/club in n the heart of Shoreditch with a great vibe. Live djs and bands will make your night out unforgettable. The staff is lovely and they suggested delicious food and drinks. I would extremely recommend the spicy Diavola Nduja pizza and the Mango and Passion Fruit Daiquiri cocktail, these are completely awesome. I will come back for sure! 🍕🍹
Daniel M — Google review
I visited Old Street Records tonight and had a great experience. The vibe was lively and welcoming, with just the right mix of music and atmosphere. I tried two drinks – including the Pineapple Piccante, a tequila-based cocktail with a nice kick and just the right amount of spice. Definitely a standout! While enjoying the drinks, I ordered a pizza which hit the spot – fresh, hot, and surprisingly good for a music bar. It was a perfect pairing with the buzzing energy of the place. Overall, a fun night with great cocktails, tasty pizza, and a cool crowd. Would definitely come back!
Giuseppe P — Google review
Had such a great night at Old Street Records! The live music was incredible — such a talented duo with amazing energy. The cocktails were spot on, and the pizza Quattro Formaggi was absolutely delicious. Perfect spot for good vibes, great food, and even better music. Can’t wait to come back!

The Blues Kitchen Shoreditch is a vibrant and industrial space that offers live blues music, dancing, and Cajun-BBQ dining. Their bottomless brunch experience features a combination of breakfast classics like huevos rancheros and customizable eggs, along with fluffy buttermilk pancakes, all accompanied by 90 minutes of unlimited Rum Punch or Prosecco for an additional fee.
Food, drinks, ambience, service - 10/10!! Blues Kitchen is always such a good time and the standard is consistent. Would highly recommend the Popcorn Squid and Buffalo Wings as a starter. Their Brisket Sandwich and Cheeseburger is always a hit as well - perfectly cooked and extremely flavourful. I tried the Salmon for the first time yesterday and it was, as expected, sensational -marinated and cooked to perfection. The staff are always super accommodating which really adds to the experience :)
Manasvini R — Google review
We waited for our cocktails for about 40 minutes. The waitresses were pushy, constantly trying to get us to order more food. I even went to the bar to cancel my order because waiting 40 minutes for cocktails, despite reminding them several times, is simply unacceptable. As soon as I complained and cancelled, the waitress came and asked us to pay for the food we hadn’t even finished yet. Awful! I was very disappointed. One of the cocktails we did receive tasted so bad that my partner couldn’t even drink it. Before the musicians started playing, we had about an hour and a half to enjoy our food and drinks — but we didn’t enjoy it at all. Once the music began, it was so loud that I couldn’t hear the waitress, my partner, or even myself. It felt more like a nightclub than a blues venue. I was expecting a real blues atmosphere. I had wanted to visit this place for a long time, but it turned out to be more about showing off than about quality. And it was so expensive! I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Annet K — Google review
Excellent first time visit! All of the staff were very friendly, welcoming, checked in on us multiple times and said thank you as we left. Service was spot on. Appreciated being given a jug of tap water straight away without even having to ask too. Food was so tasty, we had the pork belly rib, and bacon cheeseburger, both dishes were great but particularly the pork belly rib - I would come back just for that! 😋 Decor was cool and overall nice relaxed atmosphere (we dined around 5:30pm so before it gets busy). Highly recommend and looking forward to our next visit!

Hands down, my new, absolute, favorite spot in London! Far away from all the touristy spots, this hidden, not-so-hidden, spot is a gem amongst the other establishments close by!!! From the door security, Justina, to one of the most fantastic waiters we have ever had (Daryl), and bar server (Michelle), the place radiates with a charming atmosphere screaming, "come and stay awhile." I was pleasantly surprised by the delectable aroma and essence of flavors that burst in my mouth from the smoked port rib (fell off the bone!!!!), and the earthy and nutty tastes of cheese from the macaroni and cheese. Daryl recommended the mac n cheese which I was hesitant about but glad I tried it! Daryl and Michelle managed to turn a routine work task of serving customers into a joyful, memorable evening simply by being attentive to our needs and having good conversation. Kudos to the restaurant manager for stopping by the table several times to check in on services. Well done! The staff worked well together and did so gracefully and happily. The drinks were well made! The live band was playing good soul music that encourage you to bop and sway while indulging in the atmosphere and your company. Timeless scenery and decorating... England has a sophistication with that that America can't match! A+..... I could stay there forever if I wasn't full from the delicious meal! Easily accessible place I'd visit all the time if I were a local. Thanks for a wonderful evening, all because of an outside conversation with a door staff. You're a wonderful person Justina! A+!

We had the best night ever! Jibreel was so welcoming, sweet and amazing. He really made our night and even sorted out karaoke for us! The food, drinks and vibes were all top notch. Other staff members were amazing too! Such a great venue, can’t wait to come back!

Such a cozy place to be at - went with my girls! We ordered drinks 🍸 and took so many photos 🤭 Sadly we went on a Monday so the music wasn’t great, we’ll go on another day next time fosho. The service isn’t that great but they’re very kind. The bathroom is where our pictures ATEEE though 💕

Such a cool bar during both the week and weekend. Sun-Thur it's super cozy, great (strong) drinks, good food, good music, nice lighting. It's a large space with lots of charm. The bar is beautiful and the seating areas are spacious and comfortable. Love the ambiance of this place. Weekends this place has amazing nightlife and gets PACKED. Have gone a few times and has never disappointed.

I cannot believe I've not found The Blues Kitchen before. The service from when we came in was excellent, friendly staff and fantastic food. The deserts are incredible. Event venue
The Lexington is a popular bar and music venue located near Kings Cross and Islington. This Victorian pub transforms into an indie nightclub at night, offering a spacious environment with sofas for relaxation. With a live music room upstairs, it's the perfect spot to enjoy US draught beers, whiskies, and intimate live performances. Despite facing financial strain during the pandemic closures, The Lexington continues to attract both emerging and established bands, making it a hotspot for indie music lovers in Angel.
Proper intimate music space upstairs and nice pub downstairs that serves pizzas (little sloppy but tasty). Great sound system and a bar upstairs too. Can pay to leave coat and bags. Steep stairs up there and gets real hot upstairs so dress light
Lucy R — Google review
I just moved here from the States and so The Lexington was my first exposure to what a weekend evening is like at a pub. Omg I was absolutely delighted! This was so much FUN. I didn't even go upstairs to the "club" because downstairs was such good fun. People leave you and your stuff alone and are so polite even when you're just crushed into each other due to the crowd. All age groups appeared to be there, so nobody seemed fringe or unwelcome.
A F — Google review
The Bar in the pub is placed along the window with a good selection of beers and on the back shelf is a vast variety of spirits. There is also a DJ booth by DJs playing music, upstairs ther is a music venue Which is small enough to get right up to the band ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Lexington — A Happy Accident That Hit Just Right Walked in by chance — stayed for the vibe. The Lexington is one of those places that surprises you in the best way: warm lighting, great drinks, and a crowd that feels alive. Whether you’re here for a gig, a quiet pint, or just passing through, it wraps you in good energy. What made it special: Great selection of beers and bourbons — bold, smooth, and well-curated Live music upstairs — intimate, loud, and full of character Friendly staff — quick smiles, good service, and no fuss Atmosphere — part indie bar, part Americana soul, all charm Highlights Drinks that hit the spot Music that moves you Interiors with vintage flair A place that feels like a lucky find

Went on Halloween. My friends and I bought a ticket 3 weeks in advance. We showed up to a massive queue which we managed to skip as we had tickets, but still had to wait 20 minutes to get upstairs (even thought we tickets) and another 20 minutes to get into the toliet. We had to leave early as it was so packed, humid and people were getting shoved by security and staff. It seemed like people could easily get hurt due to the amount of people the Lexington were letting in, as they were selling tickets on the door. The venue was clearly over capacity, but it seems they put profit over people’s wellbeing and safety.

I love the Lexington, never let's me down. Sometimes go for their happy hour pizzas or latenight drinks. Gigs are great, downstairs is great, gets a bit packed on weekends but service is quick and friendly.

Not my cup of tea. Very crowded, not much space to sit/mingle at night. The bathroom is SUPER tiny too. I mean its not a horrible place but its like not a place id go back to. The music upstairs was mid too (sorry)

The Half Moon is a music venue that has seen famous talent perform over the years, such as U2 and Kate Bush. It's a great place to enjoy a meal, whether you're waiting for world-famous stars or not.
I attended on Sat 2nd to see Sons of Cream on a solo trip to London from Yorkshire. The staff made me feel extremely at ease and welcome. All very friendly and helpful. The food was good, pub grub, served with a smile and a tab was allowed, which is a rarity these days. The music venue is excellent. Great vibes and well organised. Thank you for a memorable evening.

Had a table of 45 booked today for our runclub Run2Roast. Andy the manager of the pub was amazing and super friendly. The staff and food were also great. Very friendly faces, and ensured everyone was happy with their food. Thanks guys!

Came for a quick drink, first visit. Nice large pub obviously geared up as a music venue, even has a venue/performance room for gigs. Large beer garden at the side. Friendly, welcoming and helpful service. Food available but I didn't stay to eat. Great choice of drinks at reasonable prices. Would love to see a gig here.
Michael C — Google review
Good beer selection and staff were lovely. Went here during a very quiet Saturday afternoon, so only a few other punters were in the pub. Overall, enjoyed our quick stop for a few drinks and some food. We ordered off the small plates menu, so were expecting some smaller portions. The burnt ends + corn bread was good, the triple cooked chips weren't are crispy as we'd like but they hit the spot. I'd suggest giving the green chilli sausage roll a miss though... £6 for something smaller than a Greggs sausage roll feels criminal.

I had an amazing experience at The Half Moon Restaurant and Bar! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect throughout my visit. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The drinks were equally impressive, with a great selection at the bar. It’s the kind of place where you feel instantly comfortable, whether you’re there for a meal, a casual drink, or a special occasion. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend The Half Moon to anyone looking for great food, great service, and a wonderful vibe.

The Old Blue Last is a vibrant pub located in the heart of Shoreditch, London, that has transformed from its historical roots into a beloved live music venue. This refurbished East End boozer attracts a trendy young crowd eager to discover the next big thing in music. With an impressive track record of hosting rising stars like Arctic Monkeys and Charli XCX, it’s clear that this establishment knows how to spot talent before they hit the mainstream.
Had a really great night at this pub! The atmosphere was relaxing and cool, with a lot of lovely people around, which made the whole experience even better. The live music was really good, adding the perfect vibe to the night. Service was fast and friendly. We got our drinks quickly, and all the staff were super welcoming. Ordered a pizza, which was just okay, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. If you’re looking for a chill spot with great music, friendly staff, and a good crowd, this is definitely a great choice. 9/10, would definitely come back!

I walked past this pub en route to a Japanese restaurant, I promised myself that I would return and return I did. This is the archetypal, quintessential hipster pub. If you googled hipster pub, I'm sure the old blue last will pop up in the search results. The Aesthetic and Atmosphere is vintage and industrial-chic elements, it has reclaimed wood, exposed brick walls, distressed furniture, and bare Edison bulbs. Tis the Reclaimed and Vintage Decor look. This pub has embraced a stark, minimalist look. Many hipster pubs intentionally do not have televisions, prioritizing conversation and music over sports or other broadcast entertainment. This is one of them 😊 I had a lovely time here, I can't wait to come back again

We went for the Friday jazz night. Took a while to get a server’s attention as the bar was packed but the atmosphere was great. It is crowded but you don’t feel cramped at all and the music goes to every room. I’d highly recommend booking before coming to secure a comfy spot. We booked and managed to get a table right at the front! We loved the band but hopefully they’d include more singers as well. Decently-priced drinks, I got 2 double mixers for around £12 each. Toilets are spacious and clean with many mirrors 😌 It is rare to find a live jazz bar with free entry and bookings on weekends like this! Will definitely return :)

Everything's big at the Old Blue Last - huge windows, a whopping full height box porch, a substantial Truman Hanbury and Buxton mirror behind the bar, the two enormous TVs and even the wine list (for a pub) is pretty large with 17 choices. Its position in Great Eastern Street is pretty huge too. You can't miss this dominant curved pub with its again huge sign announcing itself from the top of the building. The pub's definitely had a history, years ago as a home to gangsters and strippers and now as a live music venue hosting bands which were 'up and coming' and have since found real success. The pub's website proclaims its independent ownership, which is great to see and indoors, when you get over the huge-ness of its features, it's a good environment to be in. At ground level it's got the solid wood and cast iron furniture, the no-nonsense hefty bar and some attractive wood panelling. Upstairs is where the live music goes on, and the Arctic Monkeys, Amy Winehouse and others had been there. I'm glad to have finally got into this place after years of walking past it on my way to somewhere else. Its prime time is clearly the evenings, but as a place to lounge in the day, it's a very credible option.

Hard to review because it’s an old English pub, which I like and then it has graffiti everywhere that I dislike and the inside is run down. A bit odd. Strange. Never been in a pub like it.

Good for a pint or a glass of wine, but the music can be too loud if you want to have a nice chat. They have pizza options too

Cozy pub, perfect for after work meetings! There were some bugs though🪳

Aggressive, Unprofessional, and Unjustified treatment. I was verbally abused by a manager and forcibly removed from the venue without cause, despite having paid for drinks. The handling was aggressive, unprofessional, and completely unjustified. Staff made false accusations and refused to engage when challenged. I’ve since contacted the venue directly, but they’ve ignored all correspondence. I am now escalating this under the relevant legal frameworks, including the Equality Act 2010, due to the nature of the conduct and their failure to respond. Avoid this place if you value respectful treatment and accountability.

The Blues Kitchen is a vibrant blues bar in London that offers hickory-smoked comfort food and hosts regular live music and DJs. It boasts the largest bourbon collection in the city, making it a perfect spot for fans of blues and jazz. On Wednesdays, guests can enjoy live jazz performances and an all-night happy hour with 5 cocktails while listening to the 'world famous' house band play blues, soul, and grooves.
Came for late lunch, seated after a little wait at the bar, by a smiley host, staff having a laugh but attentive to us and other tables around. Food was great for all of us, pretty much had everything on the menu for the 5 of us. Rounds of Guinness came in constantly, just what we love. Been before, will come again next weekend, see you soon Mattie, best server this side of the river!

Food was delicious 😋 enjoyed the tuna starter & squid. Unfortunately the chicken wings were dry for me. We had burgers as mains, nice portion took some home. The dessert was a dark chocolate ganache with honeycomb. Strangely served in a drinking glass - nice, rich but small portion. Venue was gorgeous inside, unfortunately not enough staff, despite going up to pay I was told I had to await a server - that took age's!!. As part of First table.

I was welcomed by the lovely girl named Helen who searched for a table for me and seated me while I was still waiting for my partner. The atmosphere was amazing, great vibe and music. The decor is very cool and unique even inside the rest rooms. The food was good. We had two burgers- vegan and beef with extra bacon. My vegan one was good but could have had more vegetables inside. It was just like piece of salad and pickle. Could be something more. In general very good experience. The staff was great, we were looked after. Thanks .

Cannot recommend this place enough it is AMAZING! We went for a friends bday dinner last night and just had the most incredible time. The staff were absolutely fantastic like 100/10 amazing. We had the most incredible waitress Lotte and it was her first day!! She was so good with taking into consideration allergies, range of orders, providing information, just everything we were shocked it was her first day because she was so amazing. Also Serena was fantastic as well! Then the food was DELICIOUS definitely recommend as all sharing plates! Fave dishes were the artichoke dip and oxtail nuggets. Then the vibe - great live music, so much atmosphere, and even though there was a line to get in at the end of the night the bar still felt spacious. In case you can’t tell I absolutely loved my night here and will be back - thanks so much to all the team there for such a great night!

Amazing food here! Really blew me away. Lovely, friendly and helpful stuff. Big thank you to Leticia for outstanding service! We had the mac and cheese (which was lovely), I had the brisket sandwich (which blew me away, it was cooked perfectly and had loads of flavour to it), and my partner had the fried chicken. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back again sometime in the future!

Scarfes Bar, located at the Rosewood Hotel in London, offers a refined and sophisticated atmosphere with a club-like ambiance. The bar pays homage to British political cartoonist Gerald Scarfe, featuring his designs on the walls and cocktail menu. Guests can enjoy live jazz performances every night while relaxing in plush velvet armchairs surrounded by over 1,000 antique books. The bar's elegant setting and impeccable service make it a must-visit for cocktail enthusiasts.
Very good place with some super cozy tables (including those next to the fireplace). Nice live music daily, 8pm until midnight. Interesting menu (they change the cocktails periodically), unfortunately a bit too strange for my taste. Had a good (but extremely small) mezcal cocktail tho. I'd recommend you to come here with someone special and be ready to wait in line for at least 30min. The atmosphere, once inside, is worth the wait tho.

Smooth and well-balanced drinks. I was a big fan of their autumn special drink. Provides snacks with the drinks which is a nice plus. Beautiful bar. Good ambiance. Great service and very professional. Prepare to spend a little bit more here.

My favourite bar in London. If you are looking for a place to enjoy great music along with phenomenal drinks, this is the right spot. Loved the King for a Day, although the other cocktails are excellent as well. The only one I did not enjoy as much was the drink that comes with a fortune cookie, which turned out to be a tough bite in a way that did not quite work for me. Otherwise, everything is great and enjoying them with some bites. The atmosphere is lively and energetic, so it can feel a bit loud if you prefer something on the quieter side. Otherwise, it is an outstanding place to unwind with expertly crafted drinks and a memorable vibe.

Very upper class plus prices to match. Enjoyed the atmosphere but couldn’t get my head around the way they bill if it says a price on the menu why is there a tax on top of that. Waited twice brought the wrong bill 4 drinks including a coffee at 113pounds!! Whilst I liked the decor and general atmosphere I do feel quite down by as after trying to explain the bill and not even an apology of by the waitress. I would say be wary of this place. It’s not harsh review but a true reflection of my first time at this place
N P — Google review
A high-end hotel bar with a polished, somewhat pretentious vibe - elegant decor, illustrated menus, and prices to match. The atmosphere felt a bit cold and overly refined, though service was professional and the snacks (nuts and olives) were a highlight. Drinks were well crafted and flavourful, showing clear attention to detail. While the overall experience lacked warmth or emotional connection, the quality of the cocktails holds up. A solid option if you’re looking for something upscale - just expect to pay for the setting.

Tried to make a same day reservation by email but was unable to. Advised to walk-in. Arrived approximately 8:20pm, waited in line with perhaps 5 groups in front of me. When I got to the front of the line, the team member on the door made conversation with me and showed me their menu on the wall and answered my questions about which were their favourites on the menu. I was waiting for my friend to meet me, and they were happy to allow me to queue and then enter before she arrived. They asked her name for when she arrived, so they could show her in. I waited a little while in the queue but it wasn’t too bad, it’s undercover and they also had outdoor heating. We were given bar seats directly in front of the live band. Another couple were leaving, in seats that I preferred / I assumed would be a little quieter away from the band and they were happy to reseat me when I asked. I was advised of a time limit on the seating, but I don’t think anyone enforced it. I was a bit worried it was going to be too pretentious for my plan to give my friend her “birthday cake with a candle” - which was actually a potato with a candle which I lit for her to blow out (and make a wish, of course), owing to a silly nickname we have for one another. But the staff were laughing with us and joining in on the silliness, and when they saw that it was my friends birthday they kindly handed us small glasses of champagne on the house, this was a very kind gesture. We were guided by the bar staff on recommendations for cocktails but they were very protective of the menu itself - making a point of asking for it back very quickly, twice during the visit. The menus are works of art, perhaps they didn’t make dozens of them and need to get them back to hand them over to other tables quickly. It just felt a bit strange, almost as if they thought we were planning to steal one or something. Cocktails were very good in my opinion. We each enjoyed our respective choices. Yes, it’s expensive, and we did not have any bar snacks offered. But it was a birthday, there was live music, it felt like something special due to the setting itself and the decor. Service was generally good. I got a sense of impatience from the bar staff at times, when making decisions about what we wanted to order / whether we wanted to order more etc. I note that there is a standard 15% service charge (is it just me, or have the service charge percentages crept up and up and up - along with the additional rising costs of food/drink on menus) but I don’t think 15% wholly reflects the service received, unfortunately.

One of the best bars ive ever been to. Amazing atmosphere with really nice layered cocktails. Also acoustic of the venue is great even with the live music you dont have to yell at your friend to have a conversation. More expensive than most but worth every penny

18.07.2025 I would have given this place 5 star, it truly is a hidden gem and a unique experience. However, my visit was tainted by the attitude of one staff member (a bald gentleman, no offense intended). His tone was unnecessarily aggressive, and he seemed frustrated, perhaps due to a long week. That said, customer service matters, especially in a place that invites all to enjoy something special even if the experience is limited. This guy needs a refresher training on customer service. I hope this feedback is taken constructively. I’d love to return and have a more welcoming experience next time.

The Jazz Cafe in Camden has been a staple of the live music scene since 1990, showcasing a variety of genres including jazz, soul, reggae, and more. It has welcomed both local talents and international stars like Amy Winehouse and D'Angelo. The venue offers a unique experience with live music throughout the week and livelier club evenings on Fridays and Saturdays.
Absolutely fantastic venue. Intimate session. Great acoustics. Back again after last year for a repeat of Third World. Fairly accessible. Main toilets are on a lower level. Eating with stage viewing area upstairs. Very friendly vibe.

Great venue with bar and fairly small standing area downstairs so you’re never too far from the stage. Seating upstairs which you need to book and have a meal. Good view with slightly higher - and cheaper - tables (bar stools) a bit further back. Food was good although fairly small portions. Staff friendly and a good mixture of music across different nights. Overall an intimate venue with a great atmosphere- a really good night out. Thankfully very close to Camden Town tube station.

Wonderful experience at this extraordinary venue. First time visiting to meet excellent Ayo, the stage name of Joy Olasunmibo Ogunmakin who is the singer and song writer. The venue had to offer an intimate atmosphere and very good acoustics. My guests and I had a lovely dinner at upstairs sitting area, the bar was well-served and staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. I definitely plan to come again.

Unforgettable Night at The Jazz Cafe! I absolutely loved it at The Jazz Cafe! My hubby and I booked a table in the restaurant, super easy to do, for the 6th of November to celebrate our 38th anniversary (the day we first met 💕). We started with the chicken wings and prawn dumplings, both delicious, but honestly, I was too excited to eat much more because we also had tickets for the House Orchestra. And wow… what a night! We ate, we danced, and we just soaked up the incredible vibe together. The atmosphere was electric, buzzing crowd, live music, dimmed lights, it honestly felt like stepping into a smoky basement jazz club straight out of a movie. We popped some champagne and partied till late, celebrating another anniversary that will definitely go down in history. A massive shoutout to our waiter, Tom, he was so attentive and really made our night extra special. 💫 If you love house music played live by a band, there’s honestly no better place to experience it than The Jazz Cafe. Can’t wait to go back! 🎷🎶

The Jazz Cafe is a great venue. The size is ideal, fits I would estimate around 200. Perfect to get a table and chill. Employees are polite and helpful. Music artist quality is always high. Crowd tends to be older and more musically mature. Never not enjoyed it.

One of best venues for live music in London. Highly recommended for food too. Check the events for what is on as it varies. Food here is superb and the extra cash for a table is well worth it. Staff are incredible and friendly and very attentive. Come here about three times a year and the music is always amazing. One of the best live music events venues in London for sure. Drinks prices are not too bad given its Camden. Lots to do nearby also and many places to check out

The Piano Works in Farringdon is a vibrant bar and restaurant housed in a historic Victorian warehouse. This lively venue features talented pianists who perform live, taking song requests from the audience to create an interactive and entertaining musical experience. Open until 2am on weekends, The Piano Works offers an extensive cocktail menu including popular choices like zombies, pornstar martinis, and Watermelon Ginbulls.
My first visit was quite an experience! While the food and drinks were mediocre, the bottomless brunch for two hours was reasonably priced. The atmosphere and exceptional service from the staff truly made the visit outstanding. Although it’s wheelchair-friendly, parking can be a hassle, so I strongly recommend using public transport. This place is definitely worth a visit!

This was my first visit to this food and music venue in Farringdon. I arrived for the happy hour session from 5pm to 7pm and was warmly greeted by 'Chris' our server for the night. The venue was quiet to begin with hence only 4 stars for atmosphere, but things were warming up as we left at 7pm. The drinks were very reasonable and its a great concept, with the audience choosing the songs to be played/sung by the resident musicians. Good fun all round and well worth a visit if you are in the area. Bookings are required though. We had a slight issue with our food order but Chris resolved this and we received complimentary drinks for the mix up. Spot on.

What a night! This is the second time I’ve been to the Piano Works and we were really impressed. We booked a table a coupe of weeks in advance, not expecting a booth right next to the dance floor. Amazing. Early evening the music is a bit more chill. Two people two pianos. But by 9pm we had a full on band playing every song you could wish for. The front of house staff were on the ball. We had table service which made such a difference. And £26 for a bottle of wine is pretty decent in London. From Green Day to Alicia Keys to Cindy Lauper - they played it all. We’ve not boogied like it was 1990 since, well 1990! Great job Piano Works!

I went to Piano Works last night with some friends and we had such a great evening! The live music was fantastic with lots of fun musical surprises, and the singers really kept the energy going all night. We arrived when it wasn’t too busy, which made it perfect to get a good spot. The food came out very quickly and was really tasty. Service at the bar was excellent—especially from Roberto, who was so welcoming and really went out of his way to make sure my group enjoyed the night. Overall, amazing music, great food, and brilliant staff. Highly recommend for a fun night out with friends!

Visited last night for a food and drinks. We were warmly greeted and waited on by our amazing an attentive host/waiter "Chris", who left no stone unturned to make it a special evening. Music and vibe was great. A throwback to a 90s night out. Only downfall for me was that the food was average at best, but served its purpose of lining the stomach. Definitely returning.

I had such a great experience at Piano Works thanks to Jimmy and Roberto behind the bar! Both of them were super friendly, welcoming, and quick with service even when it was busy. Big thanks to Jimmy and Roberto for making the evening memorable—I’ll definitely be coming back!

Quaglino's is an upmarket European brasserie and seafood specialist located in the heart of London. The stylish restaurant, with Art Deco-inspired interiors and luxurious red and gold detailing, has been a favorite among dressed-up clientele for years. The menu, curated by head chef Jack Smith, features European classics like pan-fried halibut supreme and red wine braised oxtail.
I had a wonderful experience at Quaglino's. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a perfect mix of style and comfort. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The service was excellent — quick, professional, and perfectly timed. Overall, a great dining experience that I’d highly recommend!

I came here for my birthday dinner and had a great time overall. The staff were super friendly and accommodating, they didn’t make a fuss when I changed my starter. The live performers were amazing and really brought the place to life. Drinks were delicious with plenty of options, and our mains (the steak with peppercorn sauce and roasted pork belly) were spot on. On the downside, the seating was pretty cramped where people kept bumping into my chair and the table setup felt a bit messy. The food quality is definitely high, but the menu is quite limited, and I didn’t love the starters (though the burrata was amazing once I switched to it). It’s a bit pricey for what it is, but honestly, the atmosphere and drinks make it a great spot for a fun night out with music and good vibes.

Went to Quaglino’s for my birthday. The setting was glamorous and the live music gave the evening a real sense of occasion. Service was warm and attentive — I did feel looked after — but the automatic 15% charge feels excessive. Just pay your staff properly rather than using service as a way to lift prices. I had the goat’s cheese tart and the venison. Both were nicely presented and generally tasty, though the venison didn’t feel quite right — flavourful but not as refined as you’d expect at this level. The food overall was decent, but for £178 per head (including service), it should have been better. The staff worked hard, but the mix and culture of the place didn’t quite fit the polished European brasserie it aims to be. A great venue for atmosphere and entertainment, but the food, pricing, and overall consistency don’t justify the spend.

We visited Quaglino’s as a group of five friends and had a really lovely evening. The atmosphere was vibrant, the live music created a great vibe, and the service was attentive throughout. We enjoyed a delicious three-course meal, and the food was beautifully presented. The only unexpected part was an additional music charge added to the bill, it wasn’t mentioned beforehand, so it caught us a bit by surprise. In total, we paid around £200 each, which felt a little steep once the charge was included. Overall though, we had a fantastic night out, and I’d still recommend Quaglino’s for a special occasion like birthday or date just be aware of the music cover charge when planning your visit.
Mesut Y — Google review
As a person who throughly enjoys dining out, I thought I’d give this place a try on my birthday. Sadly, I should have stuck to rivers I’m much more familiar with in the area as this was an awful choice. I was received incredibly well received by the hosts and escorted to my table. The restaurant is incredibly stunning and I walked in just before a lovely set by the band was due to begin. However, that is as far as my good experience with the restaurant would go. Here is my feedback & views from my dining experience. 1. Beautiful restaurant 2. Incredible Jazz entertainment. This I’d say, is the true gem of the entire experience. 3. Food was incredibly late (25mins) table next to me received their meals well before me which was shocking considering they arrived & ordered after me (fyi, I ordered a medium steak which shouldn’t have taken as long as it did) 4. Steak was good - but at £43 you’d expect some sides? No? 5. The drink wasn’t as described on the menu, nor by the waiter. When I asked the waiter he simply said “fresh”. I thought this was quite unhelpful, especially when compared to my previous dining experiences in the area, and at the same level that this restaurant has pitched itself at. The description by the waiter was also incredibly inaccurate. 6. The green beans were cooked to perfection & had great flavour. However, the ends were not cut, which left the task up to me. Surprising considering what an easy task this generally is. 7. Waiters- friendly but seldom check in. Dessert menu simply placed on my table and the waiter walked away. It then took quite a bit of time before I received the opportunity to order, but by then, I was ready to go home. As eventful as the evening had been so far, The simplest task of the night of receiving the bill proved once again, to be a huge ask. . The place is stunning, but is in desperate need of improvement in the following areas: - service quality - the waiters better understanding the menu’s (particularly the drinks) - the kitchen paying attention to the really small but noticeable details such as cutting the ends of the green beans off. I therefore do not & would not recommend this restaurant either to people I know, or you the reader. At a £88 -£100 price point, I can guarantee that there are better restaurants not only in the area but in London eg: Stork, Tattu London. If this is a special occasion eg: birthday, anniversary, graduation or any significant milestone,I strongly advise against dining here.

Memory is a tyrannical editor. I was there when Quaglino's first flung open its doors in the nineties - all that sweeping staircase drama, the buzz of seeing and being seen, the particular electricity of a place that knows it matters. Then I left it alone, the way one leaves old lovers alone, assuming time would make fools of both of us. Decades later, curiosity — that most dangerous of appetites — drew me back. What I found: the place has refused to fossilize. Instead of clinging to its original incarnation like a woman in her wedding dress at seventy, Quaglino's has shape-shifted into something rather more louche. It's become a “cabaret,” which is either brave or inevitable when you're perched in St. James's pretending Weimar never ended. The music comes at you eclectic and live - jazz bleeding into something more contemporary, then back again. People are dancing. Not the self-conscious shuffle of those who think they might be photographed, but actual dancing, the kind that suggests the evening might go somewhere unplanned. The food, which could so easily have been an afterthought to all this theatre, refuses to be upstaged. Delicious in that way that makes you forget to Instagram it. Full points, then. Five stars. Whatever metric we're using for joy. And yet. There's something missing - that je ne sais quoi. In the old days, there were cigarette girls weaving through the tables, anachronistic even then, carrying their trays of indulgence like offerings. Probably deeply problematic by today's standards. Definitely memorable. That edge of theatre that tips into the absurd, the touch of seediness that prevents a place from being merely nice. Without it, Quaglino's is wonderful. Inspired, even. But it plays just inside the lines. I do miss the cigarette gals. Not for smoking, you understand. Just the idea of them, drifting through the room like ghosts of bad decisions.

We absolutely loved our time at Oriole. It absolutely hit the spot for a proper speakeasy vibe. The staff were 10/10 and I swear they were trying to get us drunk on water. Every time we drank they were topped back up! They were more than accommodating for some very difficult customers sat beside us. The food was absolutely amazing. We were so impressed! It’s not usual you get good cocktails AND great food. We loved the cocktails we had, ask for reccommendations, they are great at advising. We did the £60 offer - live music, 3 courses and cocktail. Beef tartare and seabass ceviche were fantastic. Also enjoyed the pork cheek and lamb rump for mains. Desserts - Eton mess and Chocolate delice - both delicious. Dim lit, chic, perfect date spot. Can’t fault a thing and will come back!

The charred octopus was a bit too rubbery and the ceviche and pork chops were okayish as well. The trout was excellent! Also, the tres leches is the perfect dessert to share. We were looking forward to the solo pianist jazz performance but it lacked the NYC jazz vibes we were looking for. Much more subdued and more conducive to dates to chat as he performed. Nothing to complain but just not the vibe we were looking forward to.

I cannot recommend this place enough. We visited on a Thursday for one of their jazz/blues nights and it was lovely. Food was amazing, the band were so sweet and the cocktails were incredible! I’d really like to shine a light on every single one of our servers who each were so friendly and made us feel welcomed. Definitely coming back!

This was our favorite cocktail bar from our most recent trip to London. The drinks were fantastic, the atmosphere and vibes were immaculate. The staff was attentive and friendly and helped us make our drink choices. We also had some small plates, which were excellent. There was fantastic live music playing while we were there (think Django Reinhardt style guitar). This is not an inexpensive place to drink, but you will not be disappointed.

Had so much fun here last night. The live Latin band amped up the vibes. Cocktails were delicious. Atmosphere was kicking, and serving teams were very friendly and gracious. Really great way to round off the evening 💛🥂

What a an incredible experience, start to finish. Service was impeccable all throughout our visit. The entertainment was spectacular and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The food was so full of flavour and was worth every penny, albeit the pricing was more than reasonable. I highly recommend dinner and a show. If I’m ever back in London, I’ll be back here again. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable and make sure you have everything you need whenever you need it. If I could rate it more than 5 I would. Cheers.

Pub
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Camden, The Dublin Castle stands as a cherished landmark of the indie music scene. This iconic venue has been a pivotal part of London's rock and roll history since the 80s, originally thriving during the rockabilly era. Over the years, it has transformed into a beloved spot for emerging bands and seasoned artists alike, hosting unforgettable performances from legends like Madness and Arctic Monkeys.
Visited here with my daughter who is a massive Amy Winehouse fan and myself a Madness fan. The landlord was so friendly and told us lots of information and my daughter even got to stand on the stage where some famous artists have performed. Great visit and would visit again.

I'm a fan of Amy Winehouse and while visiting London on a WI trip, I went to Camden. I know she performed here many times. This pub has a casual vibe. It is quite rundown but the building is old and plenty of people visit this place so maintenance could be challenging. I visited on the 23.11.24 and the ladies toilets were in a horrible state due to being blocked up and needing to be cleaned out. Only one ladies toilet was working, plenty of graffiti and stickers on the wall. The toilets also stank because of being in the basement and no ventilation. The upstairs bar and stage area is smaller than I was expecting. I asked about vegan white wine but they didn't have any so I had a rum and coke for £8.80. Staff were polite. The gentleman with a Scottish accent was friendly and helpful.

The Dublin Castle, Camden Town If the walls of The Dublin Castle could talk, they’d sing tales of musical legends and late-night revelry. Tucked just a five-minute walk from the bustle of Camden Town, this iconic pub is slightly off the main drag—but absolutely worth the detour. Inside, the atmosphere is steeped in history. Decorated mirrors plastered with band and football fan stickers hint at decades of gigs and good times. The bar pays homage to its storied past, with signed memorabilia from Madness—who got their start here in 1979—as well as Amy Winehouse, Coldplay, Blur, and countless others who first cut their teeth on its stage. Wander through the bar and you’ll find the venue tucked at the back. Standing on that stage, knowing who’s performed there, is a spine-tingling experience for any music lover. The beer selection is solid, and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. You get the sense that when the bands are playing, the place truly comes alive. A proper gem of a venue—rich in character, soaked in history, and still beating with the pulse of live music.

Brilliant venue! Definitely my favourite bar in Camden. The vibe is great, music in the bar fab and joyful and then there's the separate live music room at the back. Will definitely be back!

Legendary Camden pub. Old school; just how pubs should be. Possibly the best in London. Super friendly staff, great jukebox and a good crowd. You will end up staying longer than you anticipated.

Really sad to have to write this review I came from Birmingham to watch the absolute Amy tribute on September 14th that was great I bought drinks during the show then after the show ended I sat down and charged my phone for 10 minutes then aggressively one of the workers shouted at me saying I can’t be sitting here without a drink I explained I’d bought many during the concert but my battery started to get low so I thought I could sit for 10 minutes before leaving as I needed to travel straight back to Birmingham I understand if you can’t stay in there without a drink for even afew minutes but I’d brought multiple while the concert was on in the pub I never went there and didn’t spend anything it just out a downer on a great show left feeling quite upset as I’m 20 year old girl i came alone I thought the staff would be nicer in the way they spoke to me once they said I need to leave I didn’t refuse I left I don’t mind what they told me it’s the way he shouted in my face over something I would’ve thought was okay after id Spent good money there

They say madness played here in 1979, also feels like this was the year the place was last cleaned and madness is a good word to describe the vibe. Head and shoulders the grottiest place I’ve ever had a pint in. It seems highly likely at least one of the staff share similar extra curricular activities with some of their previous patrons (Amy Winehouse and Pete Docherty) given the way the older lady was singing at the top of her voice and dancing (or more gesticulating) in front of the overly loud jukebox.) Maybe it was a nervous tick but looked like full on gurning to me. All in all very underwhelming and to boot 7.50 a pint. I like a nice authentic rocky/indie hovel but this was a stretch too far. Wipe your feet on the way out.

Great venue, come here a lot but 2 bouncers were horrible last time we went. My partner and I watched them be rude to some young men who just arrived saying “we are not letting you in”. They asked why they’d be refused and the bouncer told them “because I can, and I want to, we’re not letting kids in” - they didn’t look intoxicated at all, and when asked no valid reason was given other than being ignored. While they looked young the bouncers didn’t even bother look at their ID before saying no to prove they were not “kids”. Then one of the bouncers (the larger) decided to try and intimidate them away! I couldn’t believe my eyes. Finally a lovely other bouncer came out from the pub, to which he explained there had been an altercation outside previously and they were not allowing any under 20s in! Funny thing was both “kids” said they were 20 and were finally allowed to show their IDs and were let in. They mentioned to us that they do come a lot there and that’s the first time they’ve ever experienced that from a good establishment. They also said that there are usually different people on the door who are kind and it’s the first time that they’ve seen the two other bouncers, anyway when me and my partner were leaving we managed to get a snap of the bouncers. Very unprofessional, rude, hostile and aggressive! Puts me off coming back again, to what usually is a lovely and busy pub!

The Camden Assembly Pub is a popular indie haunt that plays host to rising talent, with regular club nights. It has grown up and new decor has been introduced, focusing on fun-filled club nights with more of a focus on music. The bar also has its own live music space.
Came to a show here. This is a nice venue for live music. Room is upstairs. Toilets at the top of the stairs. Staff were really good behind the bar and the security polite. Stage lighting and sound we're good enough They have a dispenser for ear plugs at the bar.

Visited for a club night, was pretty good location, albeit on the small side, still suitable. Ground floor is pub that at some point close to host club nights. Top floor has a stage and a bar, basement is toilets. Staff is absolutely lovely! To improve: entrance/tickets/cloakroom all in one is super slow if you also use a "list" system. Also volumes are just deafening, so much so most people uses earplugs to make it bearable.... What's the point?!
Laura L — Google review
First visit after a long time and this remains an awesome venue for loud gigs and good view from nearly every point. There is a bottleneck at the entrance as merch is sold near the exit, but it's ok as it's the main source of income for most artists. Very professional security, cloakroom available, entrance to the music venue is round the corner (not the same of the pub that is opposite Morrisons).

Amazing live performance! The atmosphere was electric, and Selin had incredible energy as well. Great sound quality and a night to remember. Highly recommend!
Murat T — Google review
Good atmosphere in the pub for pre-gig drink. But the person serving couldn’t have been less welcoming if her life depended on it. I don’t expect a song and dance, none of our group of 6 did…we don’t want someone bowing at us. But really dismissive and just couldn’t be bothered to speak or even look at us. So we had one drink each and left. After they were trying to encourage us in again…not a chance. Been going to this venue since about 1996 through the whole Barfly years and beyond, but probably that’s over if this is the level of grim we get! So many boozers in Camden, an easy one for us. Luckily we found it quite funny how rude she was, but can’t imagine it’s amazing for business

I go to a lot of concerts in different countries, small pubs and large arenas, and this is the first time I've written a review of a place. While the venue itself isn't bad (though small and with a terribly sticky floor), the staff, especially the "security" lady, was one of the worst I've ever encountered. Incompetent, rude, and trying to be "someone," she unfortunately failed. I definitely won't be going to another concert here

A pub in Hackney with a great range of music programming, from alternative DJ nights to rock concerts. It can get pretty busy, which is part of the appeal.
Great night out. Proper grimey pub with an “outdoor” smoking area that feels like a hippies front room. The club room is as small, sweaty and dark as it should be. I’ve no idea how many people fall off that stage each night but it must be in double digits. Decent range of drinks and doesn’t take too long to get served even when it’s busy.

Cool pub in Dalston with a laidback atmosphere. There is also an area with live music too. Nice staff although the selection of beers is a bit small / average in my opinion.

Nice pub. Non traditional. We found a comfy corner and played cards while sitting G&Ts and Whisky. The walls are covered with posters and the like. Interesting mauve colored ceiling. Decent beer selection. My guess is the place gets a bit unhinged on Saturday night. As opposed to our quiet Sunday afternoon.

If you want your hair to smell of smoke for the next five working days, please come here. Gentrification has really changed this place when it gets really busy they roll out a carpet and one time the bouncer which no longer works here ( good Polish man ) wouldn’t let me in and I nearly cried on the road. Really good kebabs nearby, although I can’t afford that cause so please someone do something about it. Please stop coming here if you weren’t coming three years ago, it’s causing inflation. They’ve got a cloak room now, which is acc weird because if you go into the dance floor, you can hang out for free. you get a lot of Csm First years here ( bit cringe ) but also you get some more sweet babes as well.

Hidden gem. Quality cocktails - rare to find a good whisky sour with proper egg whites. Upstairs was a great speak easy vibe with a dj playing some deep cuts (soul, house, jazz fusion). And head downstairs after a few to let loose on the dancefloor for some higher BPM music. Great date spot ;)

French restaurant
Brasserie Zédel is a grand French restaurant located in a 1930s building, offering classic brasserie dishes and choucroutes. The restaurant provides an affordable taste of Paris in the heart of London, with a menu that includes renowned prix fixe options featuring three courses such as chopped steak with peppercorn sauce and French fries, and Manjari chocolate tart for just 16.
We came here for dinner, and had a great time. Although reservations are not necessary, I would really recommend doing so at least 1 hour in advance. The food tasted fantastic, and there was a large selection of individual dishes and set menus. The service was also very good. The staff members were really friendly and helpful at all stages, and even provided us with slightly modified dishes without an allergen. The atmosphere is also great. Although the entrance is in a medium-sized cafe, the restaurant itself is located in a massive basement. Overall, the place was pricey, but a very nice experience.

Service impeccable, friendly yet professional. Prices very decent for the area. The attention to detail is vast and deep, no expense spared, it’s not a few details here and there it’s an immersive experience. Came for a cabaret show and was not disappointed! Drinks high quality, performance high quality, over all a brilliant place bringing real energy.

After being swept away by the glitz and glamour of Moulin Rouge the musical, we had a dinner booking at the Brasserie Zédel, a perfect match to the show. While waiting for our reservation, we had drinks in their bar, Bar Americain, which was an experience in itself, moody lighting, classic cocktails, and a vibe that whispered old-school elegance. It was the ideal spot to decompress and relive our favorite moments from the show. Once seated in the brasserie, the atmosphere shifted into full Parisian charm. The grand Art Deco dining room is stunning, like stepping into 1930s Paris. The menu was classic French fare, with comforting favourites. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully plated, and the service was warm and friendly. Brasserie Zédel isn’t just a meal, it really is an experience. Whether you’re coming from the theatre or just looking for a slice of timeless sophistication in the heart of London, it’s a place that delivers on ambiance, flavor, and charm.

Overall, I enjoyed my dinner experience at Brasserie Zedel. I chose this place to celebrate my birthday with my friends. We had an assortment of dishes: frog legs, their signature steak, steak tartare, onion soup and a couple desserts. The steak was really tender, made to order with a delicious souce. I really enjoyed the herby frog legs with some bread to scoup up the souce! The non-alcpholic cocktail option were also great! In terms of food only desserts were a bit lacking: not enough crackling on creme brulee and the cherry tart was nothing special. Our waiter was very attentive to our allergies and intolerances, which we appreciated. However, there were severe delays with small requests like table water, sauces and dessert menus, which we had to ask another staff memeber for. All in all, a pleasant experience, especially with live music 🫶

Amazing looking building in an art deco style 😁 Very very big space in the restaurant with no noise reducing panels so it’s very noisy on the ears which makes listening and talking quite difficult 🙁 Nice menu 😁 Stuck to the house wine red and white which was good 😁 No room for puds Grilled chop pork-Rabbit x 2-Steak all good. Starters all good too 😁 Waitress service good but very slow with our red wine. Some good music being played but not able to hear due to noisy atmosphere ☹️ Have been here before and I’m sure will go again. Very nice bar and club in the same space 😁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Food - hit and miss. My onion soup was salty but the fish with cous cous was one of the best I had. The beef bourgnion with mash was also lovely Service - I personally was ok with the service (attentive, friendly waiter, wait time for food and drinks) but my party complained it to be slow esp when they had emphasised kids’ meal should arrive first as the kids were hungry but the food only arrived 45 mins later (they ordered mac and cheese) Atmosphere Love the ambience and decor. Truly a Parisian style with red velvet sofas, wooden beams .

The bar offers vintage and signature cocktails in a cool lounge with old-school glamour. Its original location still thrives, offering beautiful drinks, live music, and a Prohibition-party vibe.
Amazing selection of exciting cocktails that look cool and taste good. We were tempted to stay until we'd had one of each. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful and gave great recommendations. The cocktails were all around £16 which isn't cheap but it was very reasonable considering the quality, service and atmosphere.

This was my second time visiting a speakeasy and it was incredible! The atmosphere was perfect and the waiters were very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. The menu is wonderfully designed and kind of acts like a guide to finding the perfect drink for you. I particularly loved the illustrations. There are so many original, thoughtful and creative drinks to try. Each one is a work of art that comes with a little surprise. This bar is a tad pricey but reasonable for the location, as well as the experience and quality you receive. I will definitely come back soon!

I’ve had friends come from overseas and took them here which they thought was great and bette than Ronnie Scott’s. They have amazing cocktails, nice staff and a good band. It can get loud near the front so a table at the back is best and I don’t love the bespoke cards they give you which have their musicians, singers or cocktails on. A great reminder and gift from the place. Drinks are about £15 each and a £10 music cover charge. I’ve not tried the food so can’t comment on that

It offers incredible live music nightly with great local talent, legendary acts and world class performers. The bar is intimate and inviting with a cool vibe and lively atmosphere that features two to three live sets a night depending on the day of the week. It’s always packed with people dancing, vibing and having fun. You can find a calendar online which lists dates of jam sessions and headliners. Love the vibe at Ain’t Nothing But… The Blues Bar! 🎶 The live music is absolutely fantastic — real musicians with soul and energy. Totally worth supporting! The atmosphere on a Friday night is amazing — cozy, lively, and full of good music lovers. 💃 The only thing that surprised me was the £8 entry fee after 8:30pm. I was already in front of the door right around that time, so it felt a bit strict — everyone’s watch can be a minute or two different! I honestly don’t mind paying for great music (the musicians truly deserve it 🎸), but it would be even nicer if the timing was handled with a bit more flexibility. Still, a wonderful place with great energy — I’ll definitely come back for the music and good vibes!

Very easy to understand the hostels system from codes to keys.lovely Italian girl checked me in & even carried my case, upsyairs (the place is a tiny maze!)!Albeit manageable!!Individual lockers at no extra cost. The furniture in TV lounge being homely, like 1 of the 3 larger than life couch/sofa has a Homer Simpsonesque groove!!which for me It's appreciated.Home from home. Close to Brixton station with nice outside terrace but that's where all ends. Run down pub, Extremely dirty bathrooms and there was no event going on to justify. Broken doors, cheap appereance is too much said. For the high prices, this pub should look much better than it does. One guy at the bar was super friendly, the girls acted like they don’t want to be there. I wouldn't try again. Definitely there are better pubs out there.

Room ok, very friendly and helpful staff. Toilets the big issue, filthy most of the time, residents are not careful at all, wee and waste paper everywhere, also sinks are only in the showers and hand soap dispensers most of them not working. Beds comfy. Lovely lounge. Free breakfast until 11 is a great plus. Location good, with good transport very close to hostel. Fair value for money.

Pub with large music room. A 15 minute walk from Brixton tube but once there it's all rather wonderful. Large area outside with lots of seating and a hut from which you can order pizza and the one I had was very good. The main bar area has a pool table plus plenty of seating and a large and well stocked bar. The service was quick and the staff very pleasant. The separate music room has good lighting and sound though the smoke machine was a bit over the top. The stage is high so if you at the back you still get a good view. There are some seats for those who don't want to stand. The bar in the music room is fully stocked and the beers are on draught too. I've knocked one star off as though there are loos in both the main area and the music room there was no soap in both of them

What an incredible venue! The sound system is top-notch, and the atmosphere on Saturday night was absolutely electric. We were invited by one of the artists performing, and this was our first time visiting. I’m so pleased we went — the DJs were phenomenal and really gave it their all. However, our experience on arrival left a lot to be desired. When we got to the entrance around 11.00 p.m., the young man in the kiosk asked for ID. Fair enough — we completely understand the need for this. We hadn’t been out in a while and had forgotten to bring physical ID, so my partner politely asked if it would be acceptable to show it on our phones. Unfortunately, the staff member’s response was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. He spoke over my partner, rolled his eyes, and said, “Can’t she speak for herself?” I understand that working in the cold at a kiosk isn’t easy, but as the first point of contact for such a fantastic venue, his attitude was really disappointing. He seemed impatient, unhappy in his role, and completely lacking in warmth or enthusiasm — qualities that are essential in customer service. We’re older and more experienced than many of the younger revellers there, so we brushed it off, but had this been someone younger or less patient, it could have easily escalated into a bigger issue. It’s worth noting for management that this staff member might be better suited to a behind-the-scenes role rather than front-of-house, where first impressions are so important. Overall, the night itself was amazing, but I do feel that this encounter cast a shadow on the start of our evening. As paying customers, being greeted with basic courtesy shouldn’t be too much to ask..

Lovely and lively pub with great staff. Shame our band were very late going on we asked for a refund as we had an early start the next day but we're told we'd have to go through Dice to pursue this which seemed a long shot. Turns out the band Trueloves were brilliant so nuff said!

Great location. Friendly staff. It is noisy, sure, but they warn you in advance by email and the bass is kind of soothing from above. The common space and kitchen are comfortable and I would stay again. The only thing missing IMO are luggage cages, which I would prefer over the smaller valuables lockers provided. The shower and bathroom facilities are cramped but this is understandable for the price. Overall an enjoyable stay. Thanks Hootenanny!

Pretty decent overall. The venue was alright alittle smaller than I was expecting but it was still great for the amount of people in there. Great vibes and the staff and fast friendly and efficient. Genuinely a great atmosphere.

Modern British restaurant
Bar
Beer garden
Nestled in the heart of Earls Court, Troubadour is a renowned restaurant and music venue with a rich history. Established in the 1950s, it has welcomed legendary musicians like Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix. The menu offers French-inspired dishes, including slow-braised brisket burger and shepherd's pie. The walled garden at the back is a hidden gem, perfect for enjoying wine under twinkling lights.
As an American, stumbled upon this fine establishment and wanted to have a modern English breakfast. This place did not disappoint for my first English breakfast, I don’t think any other spots will top this. 5 stars all around. Staff was amazing, food was amazing and atmosphere was to die for.

One of the worst dining experiences I've had in London. I visited this restaurant with a group of relatives who were traveling from abroad for a summer holiday. We had a big group (7-8 people) and ordered a large meal expecting a pleasant experience, but were sorely disappointed. The dining environment was chaotic — loud music rehearsals were taking place downstairs the whole time, and the floor was constantly vibrating. One female staff member served us with a cold and dismissive attitude throughout the meal. I ordered a pineapple burger that never arrived, despite asking multiple times. Everyone else had finished eating and was getting ready to leave before it finally showed up — completely unacceptable. To make things worse, when we tried to pay with an international credit card, the staff refused the transaction, claiming it was because the card lacked a handwritten signature. She insisted we use a UK-issued card instead — even though the UK card we eventually used also had no signature. It was a clear excuse to avoid accepting non-UK cards, which is discriminatory and not in line with payment regulations. This caused unnecessary stress, especially for my relatives who were concerned their card might be blocked during future travels because of the decline this time caused by the female staff. Despite its social media popularity, the food was average at best, the environment was noisy and messy, and the service was extremely unwelcoming. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant — especially not to international visitors. A truly disappointing and frustrating experience.

Had an absolutely amazing evening. As we arrived the staff were very friendly and attentive. We ordered drinks, starters and mains. The drinks arrived quickly and were tasty and high quality. The mini burgers and fried chicken was absolutely delicious. The pizza was so good we ate it all in minutes. We came for the drinks and food but stayed for the live music and good vibes. Would absolutely love to come again to this new favourite.

What the gem of London City! Be honest I didn’t imagine this place THAT GOOD first. Right in centre but this vibe of slow evening, wine or soft drink, really good pizza. I feel here so cozy vibe, like I know all these visitors 🥹. You can play in some game like you are in movie and thinking what the story have all people. Some people kissing each other, other talking about work. 10/10. This place deserves 5 starts!

Had such a great time at Eastcheap Records! The cocktails were delicious, and the prawn starter and pulled pork slider were both really tasty. The pizza was fresh, cheesy, and full of flavour. The highlight, though, was the live music amazing atmosphere, great performers, and such good vibes all around. The staff were super friendly, and the place had an energy that makes you want to stay all night. Can’t wait to go back!

If you’re looking for a vibey spot in the heart of London with great food, cocktails, and live music Eastcheap Records is the place! I tried their cocktails (absolutely spot-on), the prawn starter, and the pulled pork sliders all super flavourful and beautifully presented. The pizza was another winner perfect crisp base and loaded with toppings. The ambience is what really makes it though upbeat, cozy, and filled with great energy. Perfect for a Friday night with friends or even a midweek chill session with live tunes and good food. Highly recommend visiting! 🎶🍸🍕✨

Bar
Swift Soho is a vibrant two-storey bar founded by the owners of Londons Nightjar and New Yorks The Dead Rabbit. The ground floor features a light, marble-clad bar, while the basement offers a more loungy and decadent atmosphere. Known for its Cobblestone and Irish Coffee cocktails, it also boasts a whisky library with premium and affordable drams.
Can’t believe I’ve never reviewed Swift before. It’s one of the best cocktail bars in Soho—intimate, stylish, and somehow perfect for every occasion. I’ve been on dates, with mates, and even brought my mum. Drinks are excellent, prices surprisingly fair, and the bartenders? Absolute pros. I genuinely find myself watching them mix just for the technique (though that might be the bar geek in me). It’s table service throughout, which keeps things relaxed. Ground floor gets busy fast, so book ahead if you can. Downstairs has bigger booths and a great vibe once the night gets going. Also, I completely recommend the Irish coffee which is right up there with the best I’ve ever had. Proper gem.

Warm, welcoming vibes with a great team that made us feel instantly at home - even though we arrived just before last call. The staff were friendly, chatty, and generous with both local tips and conversation. The drinks we tried were well-balanced and flavourful, with some interesting combinations. We were especially impressed by the Irish Coffee, offered as a taster - a thoughtful touch that showed pride in their craft. A solid spot with good energy and well-made drinks. Definitely worth a visit.

Delicious cocktails, very creative. When I was there in Sep 2025, there was an autumn menu. I ordered something Tokyo, it was absolutely delicious and with strong flavour. My friends order something gimlet and they liked it too. It’s not a quiet cocktail but people can still chat with higher volume. £11-15 each. Good for a night out.
J. Q — Google review
I was here last weekend & there’s a reason why it’s such a hotspot! It’s lively & full of energy in the heart of Soho, where the drinks are premium & the service is impeccable! The cocktails range from £9 to £16 & there are options for wine & light snacks too. We tried a few of the different cocktails & some seasonal ones too… safe to say we weren’t let down! Huge Shoutout to our server Theo. Dude just started out there & he already has it down for warm, personable service; Anyone would think he’s a veteran server. He had a smile that could light up a room & was very knowledgable when it came to the menu (which is quite extensive!!). Theo made our visit to Swift that much greater & he will definitely be one of the reasons I will return there someday.

Great cocktails and friendly service in a cozy downstairs setting. Despite being below street level, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Worth a visit for a date night out.

Nice spot for a drink :) definitely book ahead for a table downstairs - it’s dark, intimate and has a different vibe to the brighter, livelier area upstairs. The live jazz on Sunday evenings is also pretty good. As for the drinks, their famous Irish coffee was well made - thick layer of cold velvety cream on top that contrasted nicely with the warm coffee. I did think it was slightly weak however, and expected the whiskey to have more of a punch. But otherwise it was nice to slowly sip on. I’d come back to try their other cocktails!

Microbrewery Greene King has insanely good beers, I’d recommend trying them out! I’m a tourist coming from Germany and I didn’t know much about the variety they have here, and the bartender was kind enough to even let me try different ones out for free! :) Fish and chips was really good, but again, I’m a tourist and not a local fish and chips expert.

A friend and I went to The Victoria to watch the England v Spain Women's Euro final and had a brilliant time ... and not just because we won!! The Victoria is a traditional looking pub so we had that 'pub feeling' but it had lots of TVs dotted around so we could clearly see a screen (though we saw a couple of tourists come in who weren't so interested in the football and requested a 'quieter corner' which they found so this is not a Sport Bar - it's a pub). As the match went to penalties, we made our way through a couple of bottles of Rioja (seemed appropriate) and a few plates of the delicious Sticky Chicken - Karaage I think it is called. We loved the friendly atmosphere in this central London pub and were treated to great service by Claudia. We came away certain we'd be back - and as European Champions ... again!

Always a great time here. My favourite things about the spot are the food, vibes and of course the service received. Food, you have to try their Seabass, just look at it! Their evening menu also includes some sharing boards which I tried at afterwork drinks once and were equally as good, good value for money also I feel. The vibes are always good, most Thursdays I turn up and the street is full as well as the venue. Finally, service, consistently great.

By far the best burger I’ve ever had in London! First of all, I love the name of this pub "The Slaughtered Lamb" 🔥 I also love the 1981 An American Werewolf in London. Great atmosphere here, we’re early-ish on a Friday and the service was on point from stepping in the door. Lovely Guinness and house red wine. Chicken fillet and cheese toastie a nice bit of pub grub too. Chicken fillet is on the expensive side considering no chips, but par for the course in London and Islington. We were scouting for an engagement party venue and it ticked all the boxes 👏

Charging £13.50 for a cocktail advertised £12 on the menu. When challenged at the bar, the bartender said it was for "for service charge". So £1.50 for service. Also the cocktail is a small prosecco glass. I have put the glass for reference. Unbelievable and would not recommend. Understand it's London and things are expensive but this is taking the piss. I forgot to mention that the cocktail was pre-made in a dirty plastic bottle.

Had an amazing time at Homeboy Bar in Islington! The iced coffees were honestly the best I’ve had, and the service was fantastic from start to finish. We ended up spending around 5 hours there chatting away, and the staff were brilliant, they kept topping up our water glasses without us even asking, which was such a thoughtful touch alongside our drinks. We also ordered the sharing chips with garlic a generous portion and perfect for sharing. Overall, a great atmosphere, friendly service, and excellent drinks. Can’t wait to go back!

The homeboy bar has a fantastic atmosphere, be prepared to send a pretty penny and have the staff physically assault you. I have never spent so much money to then have the staff be so rude and aggressive to the point that females are crying. It’s not enough that your paying for their whole shift in one bill they need to gain more then what your willing to give. Truly an unforgettable experience. We’re here to have a meal before the theatre and what an absolutely treat and hidden gem. The space itself is dimlit and beautifully curated, the music not too loud so you can have a nice conversation without screaming at each other. Then the food, wow what a surprise, I’d recommend the salmon fish and the tacos 🥹🥹 10/10!! There’s happy hour until 8.30pm so that’s always a plus. The best bit though would be the chef coming out and speaking with us - we felt so honoured for that. So thanks to chef James! The service was also 10/10! Anywho, would highly recommend, we’ll definitely be back!!

Found it googling thinking where to go for an evening out with a girlfriend... I reserved Guestlist tickets online (free b4 9pm, dunno how much after, prices are variable) Friendly welcoming staff at reception and downstairs... The band 'Zack Said' were SUPERB... High energy, high vibes, 90s R&B, hip hop but super energetic non stop... Great rhythms and melodies... Drums electric guitars, keyboard, vocals... All band members fully exuberant performing in the zone... Loved it...High energy lighting, they could fill an arena...a great full on show!! I was impressed for a night out in a bar in London!! (1 thing ...needed to turn the vocals up a lil bit, his audio too quiet...lead singer had a great voice). DJ played in-between sets and after 11pm The crowd looked super young, drinks flowing but happy vibes, no aggression. Saturday night it's not a place to have a catch up... It's a place to dance laugh enjoy the entertainment and bar The place... Enter, go down stairs, cloakroom on right, raised bar and standing around in the middle, Around the bar area is like a "moat" with reserved seating areas Far corner is the stage with small standing area Infront. At the back is another slightly raised area with a few dining tables & open kitchen The ladies loos are decent. Dimly lit (good) dark decor, nice

Only had one drink but it is absolutely extortionate. Drinks are far too expensive for what they are - too much ice and barely any actual liquid. Took two sips to drink the cocktail and was left a bit underwhelmed. The bar itself has wonderful decor but the lighting was so dark and turned down you couldn’t even see anything else. Came on a Thursday so I didn’t expect it to be so busy but was more of a nightclub than a bar. Also was advertised bands would be playing and nobody was on. Just a DJ playing some average club songs. However, I would like to come back on a Saturday when an event is on and hopefully try the food and see what the vibe is like from there on.

I had dinner for my birthday with a table of 10 and the vibes were amazing! Great for a student location for nights out. Dinner wise, the food did take quite some time to prepare but overall it was a great experience! I would recommend. Staff were not that helpful when it came to asking about what to recommend. No special service received if it’s your birthday e.g. a dessert or celebration song. The music does change a lot due to different artists and bands performing so it was a bit overwhelming to sit right next to the band and hear loud rock and talk to people at the same time. It can get extremely loud and hard to enjoy.

Freaking banging vibes all around Had duck liver and tomatoes, plate of succulent BRITISH tomatoes, mushrooms and jamon… (Serrano), a great Bifana (juice on my face and down my arms), seafood rice and bread pudding. You should go. I will probably go again soon.

Recently reopened with delicious sharing plates and a lovely, neighbourhood feel. Really friendly and welcoming staff, super flavourful food (especially the cheese fritters and bifana) and a nice wine selection. Nice to have a good playlist too!

Great new local spot. The Macbeth has only been open 5 weeks but already has a proper community vibe. Manager Lucas is super friendly and even took the time to share a bit of the pub’s history, turns out the mural on the wall is 150 years old. Prices are unbeatable for London, with a pint of lager at £4.95. You won’t find that anywhere else in the city. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by and support a local pub that’s doing things right.

Been to this pub a few times since its reopened and it’s always been a great experience. The staff are wonderful and you can get a £5 pint which is unheard of nowadays. A special shout out to Lucas who works there, a wonderful man who took care of us but also of a poor soul who wandered in the pub quite out of it. He certainly went over and beyond.

Service was exceptionally good and friendly. Food lovely and decent sized portions for small plates- the oxtail rice was so good! Wine choice and pricing could have been better but overall a really good experience and we will be back. Noise level quite high on a Saturday night so if in a group difficult for conversation at times

Live music bar
Coupette is a stylish and dimly lit bar located on Bethnal Green Road, offering a wide range of inventive cocktails and an extensive collection of French brandy. The bar celebrates the fusion of Parisian and East End cultures, with a menu curated by bar manager Andrei Marcu that highlights liquors and liqueurs commonly found in French bistros. The cozy and chic space features burnished steel lighting, raw brickwork, and artfully displayed shelves showcasing various tipples.
This place has such a warm and inviting atmosphere — perfect for a date night or catching up with friends over great cocktails. The staff are incredibly friendly and make everyone feel welcome; it’s clear that inclusivity is a core part of the vibe here. The cocktails are truly excellent — each one is crafted with care and attention to detail, and you can taste the quality in every sip. I haven’t had a chance to try the food yet, but it looked yummy. Highly recommend checking this spot out!

One of the best cocktail bars in the UK—certainly top three in London, and my personal favourite! Easily the best in East London. It’s an absolute must-visit, offering creative, delicious cocktails, friendly staff, and a fantastic atmosphere. Visit once and you’ll definitely be coming back—it’s that good!

The pina colada was very good, and it is a classic of this bar. The sofas in the store are very comfortable, suitable for gathering with friends. However, the bartender service at the bar needs to be improved. The two bartenders kept talking to a customer and ignored my requests many times. I waited for a long time and wanted to order a second drink but there was no chance. So I only had one drink and left.

We were there on a Thursday night for drinks and dinner. Honestly, the cocktails were unique and oh so tasty! I asked the waiting staff, I believe his name was Joao to decide my drink & explained my preferences. I loved what I got. My husband asked to explain some of the cocktails, and Joao explained the different ones in so much detail. For dinner, we had truffle fries that I recommend, so generous with the truffle sauce! And we had a burger and a croque Monsieur, both of which were high quality and delicious. All in all a wonderful experience, and we will be back!

Awesome bar in Bethnal Green. Jamie was awesome, so hospitable, thanks so much man. Cracking drinks! Influence from France. Heavily recommend the Red Wine & Chocolate cocktail. Got to be in my top 10 cocktails in London I’d say. Where pain aux chocolat meets red wine 🍷 🥐 Unbelievable Calvados range, around 35 different ones to choose from! The warm atmosphere, live pianist and overwhelming service made this an incredible night. Thanks Jamie and the team xoxo

Jumbi is a laid-back hi-fi bar located in London, offering a unique experience of watching emerging DJs flick through records while enjoying authentic African Caribbean dishes with a twist. The venue also boasts a creative cocktail menu featuring coriander martinis, watermelon margaritas, and banana mai tais. Visitors have praised the music selection and the fantastic staff, as well as the delicious food and cocktails.
We came here for a drink - having already made a reservation. It turned out that Jumbi is more of a restaurant and less of a bar! We ordered cocktails and some food as well. Next time I’ll come with a larger appetite!

Service is really good. We booked a table so I was sat down quickly. Something went there on the menu so would’ve liked to have tried the prawns but the fritters and boneless chicken bites were pretty good. They give very sizable portions. The lamb shank was good with the meat falling off of the bone. No diddy. Very sizable portion flavour was there. Cocktails are only hitting me now hence why my review is about to end.
Gamer7k — Google review
DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE… but kind of do. This place has been all over my feed, probably yours too. A bar and restaurant with a live DJ, teaming up with a jerk chicken kitchen, makes for a really fun night. It’s far from polished in terms of decor, but it’s gorgeous. They’ve nailed the look. The wall of vinyl is a visual highlight and ties the space together. Food’s decent but the menu’s quite niche, likely down to a small kitchen. The taco-style flatbread was a standout: super spicy. The West Indian version of halloumi with honey was also excellent & still thinking about it. The rest was fine, nothing special. Cocktails were a mixed bag. The rum and raisin espresso martini was brilliant; their old fashioned, not so much, bad glass, poor presentation, and overpriced for what it was. Staff were friendly and cool but service was slow, especially for ordering another drink. And only one dessert on the menu? Odd choice.

I went here yesterday with my wife. It was a place I always wanted to go to, because they do an infusion of dishes which is Jamaican & Turkish, called Jurkish. I must say, I was not disappointed. We tired most things on the menu and we enjoyed them all. The standout dishes for me were the Plantain Falafel and Saltfish Badadez Kofte. We also had some delicious cocktails.

Great food, polite and very professional serving staff. Atmosphere was friendly and busy. Good music but it seemed to get louder and louder, you almost had to shout to be heard whilst having a meal 😕 and this was before 8pm. I understand the tables are moved at 10pm to make way for dancing, so then the music can be as loud as choose then.

Mu is a lively Japanese spot located in Dalston's Kingsland Road. Despite the graffitied door, the interior offers a haven of dark wood, hanging lamps, and natural wines. The nightly entertainment includes live music ranging from piano to jazz by leading musicians. Guests have enjoyed the soft lighting and ambient music that creates a gorgeous atmosphere. The live music adds to the experience, although it may start later than advertised.
We are visiting from Australia and ate at mu last night at the recommendation of a friend who is a local. The service was fantastic, the food and wine were delicious, and the live pianist was simply divine 🙏 Highly recommend!

A short version of the dinner would be, decent food, good vibe and friendly staff at a slightly overpriced price tag. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the food and everything was well cooked but for a place that prides to be fusion, the creativity and distinctiviness wasn't there. Service was amazing, all staff very attentive. Atmosphere was great, perhaps the live music was a bit too loud for my taste, but that's very personal. Overall is a great place for a one off date night if you have deep pockets.
Albert J — Google review
If you’re looking for a place that combines excellent music and delicious food, MU is a must-visit. The jazz show was absolutely mesmerizing. As for the food, it didn’t disappoint at all. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The menu offers a great variety. I had an incredible evening at mu!
Jennie Z — Google review
When trying too hard is combined with London hype and prices... And why, oh why, do you guys charge £20 corkage for a birthday cake brought on site that you do not offer on your menu? We have NEVER seen this before!!! A modest menu which brings nothing original compared to other Japanese-themed restaurants, with the need to have sides with your main as the plate comes pretty much just with the meat. They only provide you with chopsticks (why would you want to try to eat the sea bass or the chicken thigh elegantly anyway?!). The dessert options are laughable (although I admit that you don't go to a Japanese restaurant for the desserts). The food tasted good though, with kudos on the broccoli and the pork tonkatsu. The white wines weren't great. The staff was pleasant enough, but half of them couldn't advise on the wine options and none was able to explain any of the Japanese wording on the menu properly. The venue itself is very hipster, with furniture and minimalist decoration which was tasteful. It gets a bit loud when the live music is on but at least, the jazz band knew what they were doing. Just don't have dinner in the 30 mins before they play because they spent a good 15 mins setting up and testing their instruments and sound levels in a rather unpleasant manner (and I say this as a musician myself). In short, we won't bother again.
Jeremy L — Google review
Wow the atmosphere here is gorgeous. It's exactly the type of low light, intimate, and romantic vibes I've been looking for in London for a while. It oozes sophistication! The service and food are great, it's a bit pricey but worth it for a romantic date, or one on one catch up. There was a live jazz band playing, which if you book in advance you can sit and watch next to, while you enjoy your food/drink. But we arrived as walk ins so we were on the other side of the restaurant, but could still hear the lovely music. Highly recommend for an intimate setting, but it's very dark in there so if you have trouble seeing be cautious haha. Also, I don't think it's great for loud socialising, just saying.
Lily L — Google review
Lovely atmosphere, food OK didn’t really blow me away but the matcha cheesecake was delicious and the music is really good so would probably come back for drinks/dessert/music.
Barbora B — Google review
Great place with great atmosphere! We had a lovely night, with great food. Some of the staff were lovely, some of the staff were a little bit Rude. I would say one of the biggest disappointments was the live band. I booked this restaurant for the live band experience and apparently they were supposed to start at 7 so I booked a table for us at 6:45 but the band didn’t get started until 8. We had to give out table Back at 9 and and still got charged £13 for under and hour. I think they should state clearly when the band Will play and make the tables that got there earlier than 8 not have to pay the fee. That was a little disappointing. That being said, we did enjoy what we got and I would Return with friends.
Georgia T — Google review
Absolutely fantastic place. Starting from the vibe which is immaculate. Perfect as a date spot. The interiors are stunning and the live music is just the touch you are missing from a normal restaurant with loud music played on the radio. The food is fusion Japanese. Everything is cooked perfectly. We ordered 5 dishes plus rice and chips for two people which is good enough to feel full. We didn't order any alcoholic drinks and paid 100£ total. It is a bit expensive but for that atmosphere and food it is definitely worth it!

Had a truly perfect experience. Took advantage of no corkage fee on a Monday to enjoy a delightful bottle with family along with some snacks. Staff struck a perfect balance of being attentive, helpful, and friendly without being overbearing. While not the cheapest bottle of wine you’ll fine, it was worth every penny for the product, service, and overall experience.

My new favorite wine bar in London. They were extremely accommodating (we had a mixed group with adults and children), and the staff were knowledgeable and really cared about their recommendations. They had some great wines from less heralded regions (South Africa, Lebanon, UK) along with excellent old world selections.

Velvet by Salvatore Calabrese is a sophisticated and elegant bar located in London, offering a luxurious experience with live music. The dark red velvet interiors create a mesmerizing atmosphere, making it one of the city's most special live music spots. As part of Corinthia London, the bar pays great attention to detail and offers high-quality cocktails that are both classic and innovative. Guests can enjoy a variety of martinis and other cocktails while being treated to excellent service and delicious snacks.
The cocktails were perfect! Even the menu book is very artistic and a pleasure to look at. Snacks were ok, but I would rather get another cocktail for that price. The music and atmosphere was lovely. A bit strange that they did not have a vase for the bouquet, I would expect a place like that to accommodate such a simple request.

Outstanding service, exceptional in every way. Creative drink menu with beautiful presentations. The live singing on the night I went was incredible and worth going for on its own. Complimentary snacks were very nice.
David Z — Google review
Loved everything we had here on our date night - the decor, the service, the food, the cocktails and the live music. My husband and I both enjoy martinis very much so we each had 3 different martinis - classic martini, spicy fifty, and espresso martini, and two other cocktails. We loved the spicy fifth the most and will definitely come back for more!
Evelyn W — Google review
Disappointing considering the high price of cocktails - £25 on average! The creations are a miss; it's great to try and be creative but it's also supposed to taste good. We tried 8 cocktails amongst the 4 of us and they ranged from "meh" to undrinkable like the "soup of the day" which is really... a soup (our bad maybe for naively assuming it was a play on word and would still be a cocktail). They kindly offered to replace it though. But the overall impression was that the cocktails lacked balance and subtlety; you taste mostly the sugar or the alcohol (or peas regarding the soup). Also at this high price and for a supposedly high end bar, they don't provide free water. Very shocking and not up to par with other cocktail bars. They do provide free nibbles though. On the positive side the place is lovely and quiet. But there are so many alternatives in London, I would not go back.
G — Google review
Extremely expensive for the quality, vibe, and service. I went there to meet friends, god knows I will never come back... They add a £5 "cover fee" every time you order something, on top of a 20% SERVICE CHARGE. The waiters are so rude whenever you ask a question about the bill, using the patronising tone of old-school 5-star hotels.
Louis-Ernest E — Google review
What a discovery. As I was chillin ‘ at the regular bar, they told me about this new experience. On a Sunday overcrowded by football fans, a hidden gem, quiet, with super friendly staff and delicious mixes. I’m not a Campari fan but they made it super exciting. A+ for this experience, refreshing and delightful! Congrats!
Liir T — Google review
The drinks were good and service was great but the use of AI imagery in the cocktail menu and requirement of servers to mention that really cheapens the vibe. The similar use of the AI images on the walls also feels at odds with the rest of the decor and again makes the space feel more tacky and thoughtless. A poor choice on their part that everyone in our party noticed.
Binoy Z — Google review
Visited the “Alfresco” pop-up bar. First problem was finding it - the first two hotel members of staff I asked didn’t know how to get to it! The space itself, once located is very nice to look at, but the seating is quite uncomfortable. My server was friendly and professional, but the person who was obviously in charge was more interested in playing with a remote control boat than making sure that things were running smoothly. Once the hotel director, Thomas Kochs arrived with a group for a table the service became noticeably less attentive as they were focused on his table. Drinks were mostly OK, but two were distinctly warmer than they should be (including a Martini) - I actually left one unfinished when I left. I may try the bar itself when they return to normal hours in September, but I wouldn’t return to Velvet Alfresco. Disappointing and certainly not worth the money.

Park Chinois is an extravagant Chinese restaurant in London known for its immersive dining experience and live shows. The venue offers a nighttime supper-club atmosphere with DJs, jazz, and cabaret performances. However, it also provides a more serene lunch setting for those who prefer to savor the high-quality Chinese cuisine without distractions. The restaurant's luxurious ambiance evokes the glamour of 1930s Shanghai, featuring lavish decor and impeccably dressed staff.
I had a lovely dinner at Park Chinois. The food was excellent – I ordered the dumplings and the ribeye served with truffle rice, and everything was full of flavor and beautifully presented. Although there was no live music since it was a Sunday evening, I still thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. The sommelier was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable – he recommended a wine that paired perfectly with the meal and explained its profile in detail. Even though he was Italian, he had an impressive understanding of Bordeaux wines. Overall, a refined and satisfying experience.

I visited Park Chinois for my anniversary and the experience was absolutely lovely. We went for the lunch offer. It was nice and quiet and service was really nice. My only critique is the starters were better than the main. The main left a lot to be desired and was pretty average while the starters were excellent. Even if you don’t love corn the soup is worth a try. It would be great in the winter to warm you up but slightly heavy for the summer. I would go again for starters and drinks.

Stepping into Park Chinois on Berkeley Street in Mayfair is an experience unlike any other. This is not just a Chinese restaurant; it's a journey into a world of opulent glamour and sensory delight. Every dish is bursting with authentic flavors and presented with an elegant flair. The staff is attentive and professional, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience from start to finish. Park Chinois is not just a restaurant – it’s a full-sensory experience. From the moment you step through the doors, you’re transported to a world of 1930s Shanghai glamour. The attention to detail in the décor is breathtaking, with plush interiors, live music, and a seductive, intimate atmosphere that makes it perfect for special occasions or an elegant night out. The food? Exceptional. Every dish we tried was a perfect balance of refined Chinese culinary tradition and luxurious presentation. The Duck de Chine is a must – beautifully crisp skin and rich, flavorful meat. The dim sum selection was also top-tier, delicate and freshly prepared. Service was professional yet warm – attentive without being intrusive, and the staff clearly take pride in creating a flawless experience. Yes, it’s a splurge – but worth every penny for the ambiance, quality, and unique experience. Highly recommend booking in advance, especially if you want to catch the live entertainment. Can’t wait to return.

I’m giving this an overall 4 stars because: I booked for 8:30 on open table, and once I arrived the receptionists couldn’t find my booking, accused me of booking it on the wrong day even though I showed them my booking on my phone; they were very unwelcoming and hostile towards me. They then finally seat me, and i’m sitting in a very squashed seat, very close to other tables which I personally didn’t like, I then asked to be moved to another table and they eventually move me but once again, the man that moved me was very rude and hostile as well- saying “you can move there (points to another table) but there’s not much available so”- when I saw plenty of tables free which were more comfortable. I accept the other table because at least it wasn’t squashed next to a random person. At this point I was really upset because I didn’t feel welcome at all and it was my birthday dinner! I was thinking about leaving until we decided we were already here and we may as well stay. Now this is where the original 1 star review turns in to a 4 star. I had an amazing waiter- made me feel welcome, was super friendly, polite and was just on point with everything- his name was Joan/Juan. He absolutely flipped my whole opinion of this place, just such amazing service from him! Honestly big shout out to him for making my birthday dinner better ❤️ Food was also really really great, that satay chicken was my favourite!! and the duck rolls🤤🤤, and I also had an amazing desert, and an extra birthday one! I’m not trying to be a pain with this review, I just work in hospitality myself and I never treat customers with how I was treated at the beginning today!!

The founder, Ranald Macdonald, has created a chain of restaurants that exude Scottish charm and hospitality. The restaurant offers an extensive selection of whiskies and features a cigar terrace for guests to enjoy. Live jazz performances are held nightly, adding to the lively atmosphere.
I decided to dine at this establishment just before the main dinner rush and was not disappointed. All the staff was incredible from the moment I walked in. A very good introduction to deliver the best whiskey to my tastes was given and really impressed me. I ordered a starters, and a light dish for the summer heat. Every bite was a symphony of perfection as well as the dessert. All he dishes were plated nicely, and the friendliness and attentive staff made sure the meal was to my liking. I would not hesitate to dine at this establishment as it was one of my favorite meals of my life. Thank you to all the staff for this wonderful experience!

Amazing night watching Stephen Triffitt as Frank Sinatra. Having watched him three times before, this was the most intimate in this classy setting. The dinner and show experience was wonderful. The food was excellent quality and the service impeccable. Unfortunately the Lamb & Kidney Pudding was sold out so I opted for the Fillet Steak at a surcharge with Lobster. Expensive but worth the money for the experience and quality of food and drink. I would love to come back soon. 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The live music venue Toulouse Lautrec is a popular spot for jazz, blues and soul music. It features two rooms - the jazz club, which covers a range of swing, jazz, blues and soul styles, and the piano bar where you can listen to classical or popular music. You can also dine in the restaurant while you listen to live music.
Booked this place for my wife’s birthday. Absolutely amazing. We were hosting by Pedro, amazing service, kept engaged at all times. He is an asset to the place. The food was excellent too so a shout out to the chef! I wholeheartedly recommend this place at anytime, as the atmosphere is just right, not too busy and you get a good service. We spent 4 hours eating and drinking! Again, thanks to Pedro.

A fantastic venue, well located for transport, excellent food and service but most of all a superb venue for jazz. The programme is varied with first-rate musicians. We’ll definitely be back.

Absolutely fantastic food and drink, charming and prompt service, feels very authentically French, can't recommend it strongly enough. The French onion soup was rich and dark, the iberico ham croquettes were so impossibly light they felt like they were made of air as much as cheese - an absolute delight.

Lovely french food in the middle of South London, with live music to spice up the evening. Super helpful and friendly staff, dealt with our large party with ease! They even have a nice smoking terrace upstairs

One of the best places I have been in a while. The overall atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The jam session was mesmerizing, with a terrific house band of talented musicians adding a magical touch to an already amazing place. A big thanks goes to the Italian bartender who was kind and exceptionally professional. Every drink was exquisitely crafted, elegant, perfectly balanced, and full of subtle nuance-the craftmanship behid the bar was truly impressive. You have a talent for both mixology and hospitality and it is rare to find both in one person! Thanks !!!!!

The website and Google make it look like a happening place and so I booked it for our anniversary dinner. We were the only people in the whole restaurant, other than employees. While the owner and employees were wonderful people, very charming, it was a bit unnerving and not what we wanted for our big night. It’s also in the shady part of town, a lot of crime, etc. so be careful. So, great service, really good food, and well, the rest? Maybe we just hit it on an off-night.

We had a very nice prefix dinner at the restaurant. Service was efficient and friendly. All dishes on menus were French bistro classics and perfectly executed. Would come back any time.

The Victoria Dalston is a historic pub that has become a hub for the local community, offering themed food evenings, live music events, and quiz nights. The venue features a sizeable beer garden that attracts happy patrons during the summer months. With a rich history spanning over 100 years, its music room has played a significant role in fostering a music-loving community in London since the 1980s.
Really great pub. Good selection of beers, great atmosphere. We went there on Wednesday the 11th of December to see Two person starfield and Jessica Hunter and they were fantastic. Great night!!

🚇 Dalston Junction 🍺 £5.75 Milk Lager The Victoria is located by the intersection of Queensbridge Road and Dalston Lane in Dalston, Hackney, East London. The nearest station is Dalston Junction. This standalone Victorian pub was built in the mid nineteenth century and was originally a Charrington’s house. The pub is now run by @jaguarshoescollective who are an East London art collective. This is a good size two roomed pub that has a rustic shabby chic feel. The focal point of the main bar is the stunning horseshoe shaped servery which has a beautiful backlit Charrington’s bar back that dates from the 1950’s. The decor consists of a boarded floor, an eclectic mix of seating, a superb illuminated sign and a secret door bookcase. Hidden behind the bookcase is The Music Room, a live music venue for up and coming local bands. At the front of the pub our some benches for the warmer months. The beer selection is all keg and offers a mix of unique beers and familiar brands. I decided to try the Milk Lager, my pint was great, price point was south of six quid. The food menu offers Gourmet Burgers, Pizzas and Hotdogs, a Classic Burger with Rosemary Chips costs £13.50. We arrived around 1pm on a drizzly Saturday lunchtime in February. We were first in the door and were later joined by a couple that we saw in a previous pub. The atmosphere was chilled and relaxed with a laidback local pub feel. The service was excellent, the team here are welcoming and personable and were kind enough to show us around the music room. I love that this pub retains part of its heritage and that it also looks to the future, giving up and coming bands a platform which is great to see. I last visited The Victoria back in 2018, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit then as I did now. Visit the @victoriadalston during the day for a relaxing pub experience, or visit when a band is on for a more lively affair, either way, I recommend a visit. 📅 8th February 2025 More London Pub info @londonpubmap 🍻

This is a comfortable local I go to in order to read a book or have an occasional chat. Very relaxing. The service is exemplary. When I first went the bar staff had me become a member (free) for which you get a pleasant discount on beer and food. I appreciate that. The beers are good. They have their own ales; I recommend Forest Road, which the first time I was given a taste. Inside or out the atmosphere feels good. Highly recommended.

The Victoria Dalston — A Pub with Style, Soul, and East London Edge The Victoria Dalston is effortlessly cool — vintage charm meets creative energy in a space that feels both timeless and current. It’s the kind of pub where the lighting’s just right, the crowd’s eclectic, and the vibe is unmistakably East London. Whether you’re here for a gig, a pint, or just the mood, it delivers. Why it’s so stylish: Eclectic interiors — velvet sofas, antique mirrors, and a touch of rock’n’roll Live music and events — intimate gigs, DJ sets, and a buzzing back room Drinks — craft beers, natural wines, and cocktails with character Atmosphere — laid-back, creative, and full of personality

Horrible experience with the bouncers - I tried to tell them about a safety hazard in the smoking area and the entire time I was gaslit about how I was “too drunk” to know what I was talking about. I never at any point tried to be rude or disrespectful but that is all they were to me - they did not listen at all and completely disregarded my concerns purely because I had had a drink. They kicked me out for trying to voice a genuine concern, and then when I was visibly upset about it outside the venue the bouncer came out and told me and my friends to move. Would not recommend.

Dalston has a very different vibe compared to when I lived in London in the 90's. Bag checks on the door (maybe not completely different), but this is a welcoming pub with a decent choice of beverages including good local beers. The clientele are gloriously diverse.

The Savoy Grill, located in the luxurious Savoy Hotel, offers a classic British and French menu curated by renowned chef Gordon Ramsay. The hotel has a rich history of hosting royalty and celebrities since its opening in 1889. After a recent restoration, the hotel continues to shine with its excellent dining options and world-class service. The Savoy Grill was once a famous celebrity haunt known for its discretion, attracting actors, artists, musicians, and even Sir Winston Churchill as regular guests.
I opted for the Kitchen Table experience for my husband's birthday dinner. To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect. They went above and beyond to exceed any and all expectations. I had made them aware of some dietary restrictions of members of our party. They took them seriously and made thoughtful choices that were a resounding success. I felt compelled to photograph every dish because they were so beautiful. And then...they were all delicious, too! (We left fully sated to say the least) Each portion was perfect. The timing for serving each course was perfect. (Enough time to digest and breathe a bit but not so long that we ever thought "did they forget about us?") Each chef gave a wonderful description of each course so we really understood each one. I cannot recommend it strongly enough.

Dining at Gordon Ramsay’s Savoy Grill is nothing short of an exceptional experience — a seamless blend of timeless elegance and world-class cuisine. The set three-course menu perfectly showcases the kitchen’s artistry and precision. The steak tartare starter was a triumph of texture and balance — beautifully seasoned, with just the right bite and a richness that lingered without overpowering. The Atlantic cod was delicately cooked, perfectly flaky, and paired with refined accompaniments that elevated every mouthful. The beef Wellington, however, was the undeniable showstopper — tender, melt-in-the-mouth beef wrapped in golden pastry perfection, exactly as you’d hope from Ramsay’s signature dish. To finish, the orange torte offered a vibrant finale — light yet indulgent, with a citrus brightness that cut through the richness of the meal and left the palate refreshed. From start to finish, every course was meticulously executed and full of flavour. Combined with impeccable service and the timeless charm of the Savoy, this is fine dining at its best — a must-visit for anyone seeking the true Gordon Ramsay experience. The service at the Savoy Grill was nothing short of outstanding. From the moment we arrived, the staff exuded warmth, professionalism, and genuine attentiveness. Every detail was handled with quiet precision — water glasses were never left empty, courses arrived with perfect timing, and each dish was introduced with passion and knowledge. The waiters were polished yet personable, effortlessly striking the balance between formality and friendliness. Their anticipation of our needs made the entire experience feel seamless and special. It’s clear that the front-of-house team takes immense pride in delivering a truly five-star dining experience — a level of service that perfectly complements the exceptional food and setting.

I've been waiting to try the British classic - Beef Wellington for quite some time now, but there were very few places offering this dish for single servings, which is precisely the reason why I chose this place. Wanted to try few more things and decided to go with the tasting menu. So to sum up my experience, I would say it was satisfactory! The preparation on every single course was carefully thought of and extremely well executed. Right from the canapé to the dessert. Still the flavours should have been more piquant or might I add...more diverse. Like for example - the Haddock Soufflé was one of the best prepared savoury version of the soufflé I've ever had but it lacked the finesse to be extraordinary; the Beef Wellington was top notch but taste-wise, it was quite flat; the final dessert, though delicious, was the usual. Great food, but lacking zesty flavours in my opinion. All in all, the food felt like it was one tone. The service I would say, was good from some folks but not everybody...like just cracking a smile isn't that hard come on! I wanted to ask them to exclude gratuity, but also I did not want to penalize some other servers who were kind...so that's that. Food (minus the flavours) and for ok service...I'll rate 4 stars.

Excellent food and great service. We came for my Father’s 60th birthday. The ambience was great. The signature ‘Beef Wellington’ was superb and the quality meets up to its high price. A place for a very special occasion requiring bit of courage for the final bill, but definitely worth the adventure.
Taehyun B — Google review
I recently dined at this fine-dining restaurant and, unfortunately, left with significant disappointment. While the food was decent, the service fell far below the standards I would expect from a two-Michelin-star establishment, especially when compared to my previous experiences at Gordon Ramsay restaurants in Macau and Malaysia. Firstly, I acknowledge that it was my responsibility to note the two-hour table limit stated on the reservation page. However, the way the manager “reminded” us was uncomfortable and unprofessional. The reservation page is lengthy, and it is unreasonable to expect guests to thoroughly scroll through multiple conditions when they are simply trying to enjoy their visit. This could have been communicated politely after we were seated. Upon arrival, the receptionist was friendly, and we were excited for our meal. If the table was limited to two hours, the manager could have mentioned this politely after we were seated. Instead, there was no clear reminder throughout the meal, and only after we had completed our courses were we rushed to finish and asked to leave abruptly, which created an unpleasant and pressured atmosphere. If you would like to identify the manager I am referring to, he was the male manager in a formal dark suit who attended to our table between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM on the date of our reservation. He did not introduce himself by name, but the timing and role should make it easy for your team to identify him. Secondly, we were served by two managers, yet we did not receive any introduction to the menu, whereas other tables clearly did. This inconsistency made us feel neglected and confused. During my previous Gordon Ramsay visits, a brief explanation of courses is standard and avoids unnecessary questions. Thirdly, after we finished our main course, we mentioned that we were full and did not request dessert. Instead of checking whether we still wished to order, the dessert menu was placed on the table directly without any explanation as well. Thankfully, one waiter approached politely and recommended an option, and we appreciated his professionalism enough to order one dessert to share. However, while we were still eating, the manager returned and asked, “Have you completed your meal?” When we nodded, the bill was immediately placed on the table without clarification or closing comments. This felt rushed and discourteous. Lastly, as we took our time to finish the dessert, the manager repeatedly returned to ask whether we were finished, again stating, “I need this table right now.” While I understand turnover management, such behaviour in a fine-dining environment felt stressful, unwelcoming, and inappropriate. Even far more casual restaurants offer friendlier, more considerate service. To summarise, the food was decent but the service, particularly from the manager mentioned above, was extremely disappointing and did not reflect the reputation associated with the Gordon Ramsay brand. I sincerely hope further training and internal review can be conducted to ensure other guests do not encounter similar treatment. Thank you for taking the time to review this feedback. I look forward to hearing from your team regarding this matter, as I have already provided this feedback in person to one of the receptionists yesterday.

We weren't very hungry, and, as a result, decided to order only main courses. We picked their famous Beef Wellington and Dover Sole. Both dishes were perfectly cooked, very well seasoned and tasted great. Pomme Puree was excellent in every way. The service was very attentive and sommelier did a very good job recommending wines to pair with our dishes.
Slava K — Google review
Everything went perfect: the food, the service and the ambiance. The beef Wellington was one of the most amazing thing I’ve ever ate. The sauce, the crust, the meat and the truffle mushroom were one of the best possible combinations to make. It was pricey though with the charging water, but worth it as experience.

We had the best Sunday roast here. Service excellent- easy to book, lovely welcome and great servers. Food was Sunday roast - lamb x2 and Sunday roast vegetarian -Mushroom Wellington and cauliflower cheese ( absolutely yummy). Very generous portions , super tasty food, cooked perfectly and served hot, well presented and well flavoured. Great venue- we were seated upstairs which is amazing. (Can get a little noisy at peak times and quite a few steps to get upstairs).

I went to a gig last Friday at the old queens head. I've always wanted to come here so a gig was a nice opportunity to do it. I had a few drinks downstairs, the atmosphere was lovely and friendly, it was busy but you're still able to chat and find seats so sit down and chill. The gig was upstairs and absolutely heaving which was amazing to see. It wasn't the best gig but it's always lovely to hear live music and see loads of people dancing. I'll definitely come back here for a quiet drink or to come to a better gig. The service was remarkable, the staff had a smile on their face and I was able to get a drink within minutes. I can't wait to come back again when I'm in the Camden area 😊

Well, what can I say? The food?- tick, the drinks?- tick, the atmosphere? Tick tock it’s food o’clock. We were served by Reece who seemed to know everything about the wine menu and who’s gentle demeanour left us feeling private but included. I had the chicken. It was soft and tender like a war time lover. The gravy was beautiful. Unlike the gravy during the war time that women would paste on their legs as to appear to be wearing tights. In seriousness, it’s everything you’d want in a roast dinner experience. The listed fireplace downstairs is cosy, the bar staff are friendly and the family based atmosphere perfectly hides the machine that’s functioning to keep everyone happy and wait times down. If I owned a pub, I’d want to own this one. But for now, Sunday dinner will suffice. Ryan.

We were deeply disappointed by the experience. The staff were unexpectedly rude and dismissive, creating an atmosphere that felt outdated and detached—almost aristocratic in the worst sense. It was as if customer service was an afterthought. We had visited for an exhibition that, frustratingly, had not been updated on their website, which led to confusion and misdirection. Hoping to salvage the visit, we asked a staff member if we could have lunch at the restaurant and were told yes. However, upon entering—despite many empty tables—we were met with awkward questions and cold, unwelcoming looks. It was an uncomfortable and frankly embarrassing experience. In a contemporary setting, this kind of behavior is hard to justify. We chose to leave rather than wait around for them to “check” on something they clearly had no intention of following through on. A real shame, especially in a place that should represent culture and openness.

Evans & Peel Detective Agency is a unique Prohibition-era themed cocktail bar that offers an authentic experience from the 1920s. The bar is designed as a detective agency, and guests are required to come up with a cover story to gain entry through a secret door hidden in a bookcase. The ambiance is enhanced by live jazz, swing, and blues music, creating an immersive atmosphere. The menu features creatively crafted cocktails paired with stories of bootleggers and moonshiners from the past.
After a long day of traveling from Spain, we had the most lovely experience at Evans & Peel. From the beginning, we were immersed in a fabulously fictional world where we could engage as much or as little as we wished. The entire staff were beyond thoughtful and we had amazing conversations with Stevie and Isaac. Our group of four tried many drinks and loved every single one of them. Absolutely loved this place. Really wanted to give this place a perfect 5 stars, but unfortunately found the service a bit lacking. Staff were amazing when they were with us, but it routinely took 10 mins or more to get a server's attention and get new drinks orders in. So ended up with 15+ mins with nothing to drink, by the time they were made and brought over. Hoping this was just an off night, because I loved everything else - the vibe, the music, the theme, everything else was all fantastic. Cocktails were all incredible as well - we especially loved the custom made option where you "pick your poison." Will still be back nonetheless, but hoping service is better next time!

Really great theme and the actor at the start when you entered is amazing and just the overall feeling when you enter is quite nice. Fun themed drinks too. The waitress had a bit of attitude.

Great speak easy bar in London. The entrance acting part was the main highlight. The live music was contributing to a nice vibe, the staff was very helpful and the cocktails were decent. I'd definitely go back.

The Piano Works West-End is a late night music venue that offers different types of drinks, food, and live music for the audience to choose from. It is branded as a party spot with elements of bar and restaurant in addition to concert. The idea behind the live music venue is that guests can easily grab a napkin and write down their song request, which is then played by the pianist.
We had a great late afternoon into the evening here. The happy hour cocktails were lovely with a great choice. There were no seats available but we just danced about to the piano and had a really fun time. Great please to go for a bit of fun and some cocktails.

A nice venue for large groups. Food on table 1 min after ordering. Drinks exceedingly slow. Long wait for staff to refill. Not allowed to leave Prosecco bottle on table. About 1hr after main for dessert. Lola was our waitress. She was brilliant despite getting a lot of stick from others. She wasn’t slow it’s too many tables per waitress.
Sonia H — Google review
A great experience with live music and requests. I have been here several times and it’s always a safe option for a good night out. I didn’t want to have to leave to catch the last train home. Drinks are a reasonable price however shots are a bit on the pricy side.
Alex W — Google review
This was the final stop on our hen do journey this weekend and the band didn’t disappoint! They were absolutely brilliant and had fantastic voices! The musicians had such energy and it was so much fun to jump up and dance. They made all the brides, birthdays and other events feel special and we got a few of our requests played :)) Drinks were a little bit expensive for the size of them but to be expected in central London. The bathrooms were actually really well kept which is a big tick for me at late night venues and we really loved the photo booth option too! Staff were nice and our bride had a great time :)
Grace M — Google review
GO RIGHT NOW! Omg such an amazing night. The band was amazing taking requests all night long. Drinks were flowing, the dance floor was full, and everyone was in an amazing mood. Would recommend for any event or just for your casual Saturday night. Our favorite bartender is in the photo!
Andrew B — Google review
Quite disappointed with the quality of the cocktails served. £14 for a margarita and this is what I received; when I questioned the bartender, he just lifted his shoulders as if to say it is what it is… that’s not even worth £10. We also booked several months in advance, but we were given a table shoved in the corner, with less seating than people, it was 9 of us but only sitting space for 5
Stefani N — Google review
A really disappointing evening tonight. I’ve been here many times before & absolutely loved it but tonight there were several issues. Firstly my friends and I arrived at 12:30 and sold tickets for £15 based on the fact it’d be open until 2:30. We paid the money and went upstairs. Unfortunately the club was pretty dead and we weren’t allowed to buy cocktails; we were restricted to a small selection of drinks. The bar closed pretty soon after this which was surprising considering the bar was going to close nearly 2 hours later. After the fantastic live music, there was a DJ who refused to take requests and was locked away in a small glass case which was again, disappointing and not reflective of what we’ve experienced before. We decided to make the most of our evening but the club closed at 1:45 when it’s advertised as closing at 2:30 online! We asked a bouncer about this and he simply said “it’s quiet tonight”. Overall a disappointing evening & my friends and I have walked away with a completely different impression of this place 🫠
Ellie H — Google review
I am disabled and use a walking stick and I turned up here last night with my friends without a booking and the staff were so accommodating. They immediately made sure we had a table right on the dance floor so I could be with my friends and rest when I needed too. I go out quite often and this was the most inclusive experience I have ever had in a London bar/club. I wasn't made to feel like an inconvenience and I didn't even need to ask, they just immediately made accommodations for me, and it really made a difference to my evening. Thankyou to your great staff ❤️

Night Tales Loft is a trendy loft bar with a relaxed atmosphere, featuring homely furniture and plants. On Wednesday nights, the venue hosts improvised jazz sessions with some of the city's finest musicians and offers great views from its rooftop terrace. The space overlooks the East London skyline and boasts an impressive dance floor, upgraded sound system, and an all-weather heated terrace with a retractable roof.
Went with a friend for the Tuesday jazz night and was not left disappointed. The atmosphere was amazing but do be warned it gets very busy and is probably best to reserve some seats. Also VERY stuffy in there but drinks were affordable toilets were clean and pizza looked good (vibes were great) will definitely be returning !!!

I recently had an amazing experience at a club in London. The atmosphere was vibrant, the music was fantastic, and the overall vibe was just perfect. However, during the night, I accidentally lost my wallet. Thankfully, Saqib the security guy, a truly kind and helpful individual, went above and beyond to assist me. He patiently helped me search for my wallet and ensured I didn’t feel stressed about the situation. His professionalism and kindness made all the difference, and I was incredibly grateful for his support. This club not only offers a great experience in terms of entertainment but also has an exceptional staff that genuinely cares about their guests. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-tier nightlife experience in London!

Had an amazing night with my friend on Saturday thanks to Ken and his lovely team. Cocktails were 10/10 and they serve really good pizza too. Who doesn’t like cocktails and pizza😍? Thanks so much guys. Will definitely be back soon

The music here was great and the vibes were really nice. All the staff are super friendly and chatty which I loved. Only thing I didn’t like was how obscenely loud the sets are. We’re talking around 110dB for most of the night. It’s just so unnecessary since it’s such a small room anyway and I would like to be able to enjoy the music without having hearing loss or tinnitus afterwards 😭

This is a nice space. The idea behind weekly live music is great. Definitely recommend the Latin + Jazz Night. Never got to try their pizza, however they look good✨️

Candlelight Sessions: Bad Bunny at NT Loft was honestly the Willy Wonka Experience of “immersive” music nights and not in a good way. Think: all the hype, absolutely none of the magic. First red flag? The “candlelight”. About 40 fake candles plonked on a stage, and that was literally the entire “experience”. No atmosphere, no mood, no artistry, just battery-powered Ikea vibes. The music? There was zero difference in volume between the generic background tracks they played while people walked in and the so-called “Bad Bunny” moment. It genuinely felt like someone said, “idc, just put the This Is Bad Bunny playlist on Spotify.” No build-up, no curation, nothing even remotely immersive. No dancefloor either. Everyone was awkwardly facing forward toward… what exactly? The fake candles? It was like attending a school assembly where the theme is “reggaeton, but make it sad”. And then there were the drinks. £19 for two drinks, one of which was non-alcoholic. The alcoholic one? A basic whisky and mixer made with Johnnie Walker, even though the night is supposedly sponsored by Johnnie Walker. How do you have a brand partner and still upsell drinks like it’s a West End interval bar? Truly, what an absolute joke. Why is there even an entry fee for this? Just call it what it is: a regular night in a cocktail bar with dim lighting and a Spotify playlist. There is nothing “candlelight”, nothing “immersive”, nothing “special”. Just… rubbish. Save your money. Seriously.

Cafe
Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Dalston, Cafe OTO is a unique gem that transforms from a cozy daytime café into an electrifying live music venue by night. Since its inception in 2008, this former paint factory has become a haven for avant-garde and experimental music lovers. With a capacity of 150, it showcases an impressive array of genres including free jazz, psych rock, krautrock, and electronica.
One of the greatest live music venues/collective spaces in the world. Their programming is top notch and unlike any other. I have seen top notch jazz and experimental music there every time I have been. It's a very special place filled with incredible books and records to purchase as well. A must visit for me Everytime I am in London.
Matt S — Google review
Excellent musical acts, great sound quality, nice crowd, good beer. What more could one want? Well, I would ask for more reasonable temperatures. I don’t understand why this place has to be kept so hot during performances. It’s so uncomfortable it almost ruins the experience. An older person actually passed out from heatstroke. That’s how hot it was. But the puzzling thing is: they do have AC; they just choose to keep it off. Why? It’s borderline irresponsible to do that in the summer. We can do better, friends. We should allow ourselves to expect better from such a fine venue.

Nice cafe/venue in old building. Very bubbly chatty place and good to sit. Tiny menu but good. I had sourdough toast with marmite..3 slices..coffee good. .the soup looked food too. sells lots of records ,jazz, experimental music and it holds this same kind of live events. I didn't know how well known it is in experimental circles it is. Friendly staff . I can imagine the night time events will be very atmospheric there.

Nice cafe with some seats outside for sunny days. We had the cheese toastie, which was fine, but the onions they served with it were genuinely the best part of it! The coffee was good - both espresso and iced latte were nice. Inside was quite big with lots of space and tables.
Corina P — Google review
I dropped by here after someone commented on one of my videos about record shops in London, specifically shops that focus on jazz, funk, and related fusion music. This cafe/music scpace/store was highly recommended. As you can see from other reviews there is a live music scene here and a nice open concept cafe with some food. But I went specifically for the LPs, so my rating should reflect this focus. There were certainly quite a few new jazz LPs that I would have normally taken home -- LPs that were relatively hard to find, or local to the London jazz scene, but prices were above what I'm used to spending, or what Discogs guides. I'll try back this fall to see if anything has changed. For now though I would not recommend unless you have the time.

A wonderful venue with a continuing programme of innovative and inspiring music featuring artists from around the globe. Exploratory and ever challenging in the best possible way! Great cafe during the day with a nice atmosphere and bar in the evening. Fabulously well stocked bookshop and records and vinyl add to the magic of this place! Long may it prosper!

Ridley Road Market Bar is a unique spot that transforms from a shabby-chic cafe with tropical decor during the day to a lively bar at night. The retro jazz and soul vibe sets the tone for an eclectic experience. With its DIY look, this dive bar exudes an anything-goes atmosphere, where you can dance to reggae and Motown on the chequered floor beneath a glittery disco ball.
In my Top 10 for sure!! It's about good times on the dance floor, letting your hair down, holiday/house party kinda vibes – and open late. Worth checking their IG for what's on when, as it does cater for a wide variety of genres on rotation including Dance, Disco, DNB, Euro-pop, Garage, Rockabilly, Soul and Live performances… Recommend drink: Gin & Blood Orange Real nights for all people. Independent. Love it.

Good vibes going on here with mainly 20s-40s age group. Beers and cocktails, great Mojitos 😉! It gets packed on the weekends, so if you don't mind major shoulder rubbing, you will love it here. Only bad point I'd say is the location of the toilets, you have to squeeze your way through the busy dance floor everytime. Good points - No entrance fee, smoking area outside

Ansal was the highlight of my night tonight- not only was he warm and welcoming but he made me feel safe and is an exemplary security guard ! 🫀💍

Disappointingly I'm leaving a negative review of this place. I wanted to go because it's unique to have a place like this in a location with so much (potentially unknown) history. There was a very long queue at 11:45pm with thorough security. For what? I do not know... After going inside after waiting for about 20 minutes, the music wasn't fun, there was a very long queue at the bar, and it was just very boring... We left after one drink. If you want to be around people who are pretending they're having a good time, this place is for you.
Francesca S — Google review
Always plays the best music and has a reasonable mix of fun cocktails and ‘trendy’ beers. Has a kitsch vibe - imagine your nan returning from a holiday to Miami in 1982 and dedicating her shed to a tropical chill out room. Slice girls pizza is delicious and although it often gets busy you’ll deffo feel like it’s ‘your little place’. I love it here.

Kindred, a newly opened members club in Hammersmith, features the Cellar which is open to the public. The menu, curated by Chef Andrew Clarke, offers delightful dishes such as grilled cheese with leek-topped kimchi and Korean-spiced Dexter beef tartare. Additionally, Kindred hosts live entertainment events including Introducing nights and Live Music Fridays. The venue also serves as an elegant and stylish location for weddings with exceptional in-house catering that received high praise from guests.
We held our Wedding at Kindred in September 2024 and I couldn't recommend enough! The who process was amazing (with a HUGE thank you to Sara for being so organised). We worked with Kindred to create exactly what we wanted. The space made for a warm, welcoming atmosphere - which then turned into a brilliant dance floor at the end! We have had so many people commenting on how brilliant all staff were - and how good the food was. For just under 80 people it was perfect and I would recommend again and again...
Helen C — Google review
As a modern wedding photographer who LOVES city venues, Kindred had everything. The spaces are decorated beautifully, in rich colours. The decor is a gorgeous mix of modern and vintage, the whole place almost feel like someones home, which really helps guests at a wedding feel super relaxed. The main room is great for ceremonies and dining, with the bar and library upstairs for mingling during cocktail hour. The stairs outside also make a great location for photos. It's also seconds away from Hammersmith tube station, making it super easy for guests to get to, but make sure you don't try to enter through the door on the main road - you need to walk into the courtyard at the back and walk up the winding staircase for the main entrance! I had so much fun shooting at Kindred, and it really helps when the staff are all friendly and helpful as it makes my very stressful job a lot easier to do. I can't wait to shoot here again in the future!
Amy F — Google review
We had our wedding dinner reception at Kindred in June and it was the perfect venue choice! The aesthetics, the coordination, the detailed planning, the food and everything in between - the venue was perfect for 80 people and guests had enough room to move around across the 2 floors. Sara was very helpful throughout the planning process, meeting us in person and guiding us through with her trusty Google document to make sure we had every detail thought out. Charles was the MVP of the night, coordinating so many things and all our requests. He even made sure to keep our wedding cake for us over the weekend so we could come back to collect it. I booked the venue 1.5 years before my actual wedding (and even 6 months before I got engaged actually) because I knew it was exactly what I wanted and I am so glad it did not disappoint! Highly rate this place for anyone thinking of holding an event / wedding! No regrets :)

Oh how I love this restored, refreshed and beautiful space which is a 5 minute walk from Hammersmith tube station through the shopping mall. Beautifully decorated spaces both uniquely designed for work and relaxation. The restaurant on the ground floor is super comfy, relaxing, good DJ on ground, great prices and largely informal, hosting private parties, dinners, and can be adapted to suit your event. The first floor is an open space/bar area/reception. Great for product launches, meetings, conferences, seminars etc The top floor is great for hosting parties, available as a work hub and a designated private room that can host up to 16 guests seated. You need to see it to really experience the gorgeous feel of this building. I enjoyed my visit to their open day! Great tasting canapes and drinks were served. The staff are lovely and attentive with welcoming smiles and a professional approach. For all things event spaces, I recommend 🤩

The Notting Hill Arts Club is a basement venue that offers a range of live music, club night and arts events. It's popular with locals and often has discounted or free entry if you turn up early.
Had a wicked night seeing Omar last week!.. He rocked it! It's a while since I was last there, and it didn't disappoint. This is the perfect venue for intimate gigs, because of its size, which I far far prefer to big concert venues. The sound was excellent, down to the lovely bloke who was engineering for the night (sorry I can't remember his name). The drinks were a fair price for the area, and an extra special shout out goes to Ted behind the bar. What a top man! While it was quiet earlier on we had a great chat with him. Also the door staff were spot on too. In fact the whole team should be commended and looked after well. Keep them. They are a rare breed! For a small venue this one really packs a punch!
Karine W — Google review
A stone throws away from Notting Hill Gate tube this underground venue is rather nice. Divided into two areas with one area having seating and a well stocked bar and the other with a stage. Bar service was quick and efficient with pricing similar to other establishments in the area. The loos are clean and the cloakroom charges were modest. Door staff were fine. Sound in the music area was good but the lighting, like many places, was terrible

Manager Chloe and her staff are absolutely lovely! It’s been a while since I’ve encountered such wonderful service. I’d go back just to see them all. Great night. Superb cocktails. Thank you!
Samuel P — Google review
Fun unpretentious venue, with a stage and lots of seating. The DJ area is tucked under the stairs which is a shame but it's still good. Nice bar and door staff but beware soft drinks are out of 2L bottles so can be flat and v. warm thus the loss of a star.
Ruth W — Google review
Club/DnB night. If intimate venues with really sound bouncers, and indeed all staff, usual well served drinks, solid sound system, and really nice toilets, then you'll definitely like this place. Only loses a star due to the stage lighting: there was only 1, yes 1, left on all night.
Bruce S — Google review
A pleasant and well run boutique venue, though a couple more toilet cubicles in the Ladies wouldn’t go amiss, Amber hosts with a tight professional security team and barmen, a venue I’d recommend, especially for unaccompanied groups of women a nice safe venue…
Diana T — Google review
Small cosy venue that doubles as a cafe during the day. It is quite easily missable on the street due to it's narrow entrance and muted colours but they presented a very vibrant, feel good show. The gig I went to was suppose to start at 7:30pm but they were only ready to let us in at 8pm. It took a while for them to get settled but once they did it was a fantastic gig. As you descend the steps into the venue , the rooms split into two halves, the left being a 360 bar and the right being the relatively small stage with limited standing space. It's perfect for small intimate gigs such as the indie music I went to see. The bands can really interact and gel with the crowd as the stage is low. Staff (bouncers and bar staff) were friendly and easy to have a conversation with. They did nice cocktails and had a small space for bands to sell merch. There was also a closed off comfy space for performers to relax and set up just off of the stage. Toilets were... Well... Typical venue toilets. Pretty dingey and messy. All in all a fantastic experience though and would definitely come to see a gig here again!
