Pleasant discovery! This restaurant had a familiar feeling, being in the oldest restaurant in Berlin. It's like dining in an old house. The staff were kind and helpful. The kitchen closes early, so it's better to book and be on time. It's a very casual restaurant. I went with a small group of friends, and we enjoyed our meal. I recommend the stuffed cabbage leaves with bacon. My plate was light light but still filling. Recommended.

Very often these sort of "oldest restaurant" places are a bit of a tourist trap, style over substance. Luckily not here - it's a superb restaurant with a fantastic fine dining twist on trad German favourites albeit with fun and informal service. So pleased we came. Oh, and the feel of the place is wonderfully old fashioned with candles, tiles, and dark wood. Booking recommended - probably essential actually.

We visited Zur Letzten Instanz and ordered the meatballs and the pork knuckle, recommended by our waiter. Both dishes were delicious, especially the pork knuckle, full of flavor and perfectly crispy. For dessert, we had the freshly baked apple pie, which we also loved. Without a doubt, this restaurant is a must-visit in Berlin, full of history since it has been open since 1621. Truly a stop not to be missed!

If you come to Berlin, this is a must try restaurant. The food is great, the service is even better and the atmosphere in one of the oldest restaurants in Berlin sets the tone for a great evening. Highly recommended

The best pork knuckle and apple pie I had in Germany. We are lucky that we wait before the opening so we can get a table for two. However, it’s pretty full and suggests to make reservations in advance.

Arguably the best Alt-Berliner restaurant I visited when in Berlin! I ordered a Geflügelcurrywurst mit Kartoffel and it was amazing. The chicken sausage tastes very light and pairs well with the curry ketchup. Had one glass of Berliner Kindl as well which was great. The Apfelstrudel was warm and quite comforting for the rainy day I was there. The staff are very accommodating and nice, and they are up for a little small talk. They also gave me a postcard to take home! Hands down the most accommodating restaurant in Berlin and a must-visit for me personally when in Savignyplatz. Will dine again!

A true German cuisine gem in western Berlin! I absolutely loved the ambience and the food at Dicke Wirtin. The portions were generous, and the beer selection was impressive. If it’s your first time in Berlin and you’re looking for a traditional German culinary experience, be sure to visit Dicke Wirtin. Pro tip: Make reservations well in advance.

Fabulous experience. Booked table the day before on website and rolled in to the coolest decor and friendliest staff. Schnitzel was ginormous, steak excellent, beer good and strudel to die for. Highly recommend.

What an unpleasant experience 🥺 We werer sitted in high uncomfortable table and chairs and ask for a normal table/chairs... even though there were plenty of emoty normal tables and that we did have appropriate reservation... "No we are fully booked". The food was (at best) mediocre. Really nothing to write home about. The place was very loudly, not very romantic either. But the worst part was the 59 minutes we waited between the starters and the main dishes. When asked what is going on... not even a simple aplogy... "You don't see it is full" 😡😡😡

Brilliant restaurant with typical German cuisine - our Bratkartoffeln with Spiegelei und Gurke was delicious. Service was very good and our waiter was very funny. We've been there for lunch, but for the evening I would recommend to book a table. Can recommend and would visit again. Loved it! xx

Before Sunday 18:00 no reservation got in. Like always Eisbein and veal Leber, the Solei is a good entry, Eierlikör as dessert . Service from a unfriendly lady , we didn’t give tip, although she asked for it as we paid with card.

Traditional wirthaus with a good selection of beers and classic German dishes. Staff were really nice and gave recommendations where needed. A few vegetarian options available on the menu - limited choices but really tasty! Important to note, restaurant is cash only (some ATM’s down the road)

If your Mom made real German food for you when you were a kid, GO TO GHIS PLACE! I had the Eisbein, and it was perfect. It’s actually difficult to find bad beer in Berlin, but this place has its own brewery and the beer is wonderful! It’s cash only so be prepared. This was the only restaurant where the server preemptively suggested a tip. That’s extremely unusual in Europe in General.

Authentic German/Berlin vibe. My brother reserved a table as I was not aware of this establishment. We took friends from Colombia there to show them some German food and both the service and food were awesome. The service was fun, authentic and overall very helpful. Most of us had the schnitzel which was great however a little too flaky for my liking hence the rating. Everything else was amazing.

It was hands down the best meal I’ve ever had. Their non-alcoholic beverages were the best I’ve ever had. The staff was friendly, welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable. Watching the kitchen ballet their way to create the food was incredible to witness. The subtle layering of flavors, explode in your mouth. We flew all the way from Canada and we don’t regret it. 10/10. No notes.

This was a gem after a week of trying German food that’s didn’t really suit us. The service was friendly and the staff was perfect. Super knowledgeable and inviting. It has a speakeasy vibe and you are not allowed to take pictures so make sure you are mindful of that. The plates were delicious…however, for some it might not be worth the cost. We spent almost $800 euros but i could definitely say it was one of the best meals I’ve had. Simple but tasty. Dishes were small as they have a pre-set menu but you will like some, and you will hate others. They are German dishes which is what I loved the most since had not tasted a good German dish until then. The atmosphere is quiet, private and very trendy. You can watch the chef’s cooking and the wines are a plus +++

We went here for our wedding anniversary on Saturday evening. Billy and the team are lovely- there’s a contagious passion for the place that all the staff have. The food was delicious- the flavour in the sauces was immense. Would highly recommend. The menu is fixed so I can see how fussy eaters may have an issue but I would recommend that you let the team guide you and be open to try the seasonal and local food. Just make sure you skip lunch before going. :-)

The food, service and atmosphere were all great, creating a wonderful dining experience. Each course was presented in an artistic manner along with an easily understood explanation about the food and how it was prepared. Everything was delicious with the pierogi, the chicken and the deserts being outstanding! Bravo!

I dined at Nobelhart last night. While the price was about half that of Tim Raue, the savings came at a cost—namely, a significant reduction in courses. The base menu consisted of just four courses, one of which was simply bread and butter… which, as it turns out, you’ll need to fill up on if you want to leave remotely satisfied. I probably consumed more bread than anyone who’s ever walked through those doors because I arrived starving. The strict no-phone, no-photos policy was a bit frustrating, especially as a solo diner—I quickly realized how reliant I’ve become on my phone during these experiences. That said, they did something unusual: at one point, they brought out books, and I ended up 10 pages deep into one. Oddly enough, that part was pretty cool. The staff were fun, friendly, and highly involved—you meet each of them over the course of the night, which adds a nice personal touch. However, I paid an extra €30 for an additional course… and it turned out to be just one pierogi. Yes, really. I’ve dined at dozens of restaurants on the World’s 50 Best list, and unfortunately, Nobelhart will be remembered more for the experience than the food. Unique, yes. Memorable? Sure. But not for the right reasons.

The service at Peter Paul restaurant was excellent ⭐️ .Everyone was kind 😊 and friendly 🤗 and that positive energy ✨ can be felt throughout the place. 🇩🇪We enjoyed traditional German dishes 🍽️, beautifully prepared with details that enhanced their flavors 👌. The wine 🍷 was excellent, and it’s honestly hard to decide which dish was the most delicious 🤤. I absolutely loved the desserts 🍰😍! Highly recommended 👍 and I would definitely come back 🔙💯.

My applauses to the chef and the entire team behind this new concept of German tapas. We were able to try many of the traditional German dishes and share. I fully recommend ordering the cheesy dumplings, they were my favorite plate of the night. The atmosphere is very elegant and classy. Great decor and lighting. The service is 5 stars. Clemence was very kind and helped us understand every dish and explain a bit about them. He also suggested a wine that was very good. I would definitely come back to PeterPaul, and I recommend anyone visiting Berlin to come here. The food is well thought and elaborated; it’s not your every day type of food. I went with a group of five, and we started off with a delicate soup served in a cup. Among all the dishes we tried, our favorites were the buttermilk-marinated crispy chicken with watercress yogurt and the cheese dumplings. The most delicious German dumplings I have ever had, I think it's not purely German, it has a bit of foreign influenced taste. Anyway,so good. The other dishes are just ok. Was a little bit disappointed by the Black Forest , it was a deconstructed one, but for me it was uncreative, a piece of brownies and dry cherry put together don't make it a Black Forest.

I tried cod for the first time instead of schnitzel, and I received a great recommendation for an alcohol-free Riesling. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I found it to be overpriced for the quality of the food. It seems that the pricing is more about the location and status than the quality of the meal itself.

Borchardt is a true Berlin classic! We had the Wiener Schnitzel – golden, crispy, and absolutely delicious – and the steak tartare, which had a fresh and original flavor. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, perfect for a relaxed evening. Prices are a bit high, but for the taste and experience, it’s definitely worth it!

We made a reservation at this German restaurant for lunch. The service was okay, but our main dishes were left out initially. The tartar and schnitzel were delicious, and the portions were generous. However, the seasonal menu of the deer was average.

Borchardt is an exceptional place to celebrate special occasions or have a date. Perfect german food, made of high-quality ingredients, in combination with sweet cocktail and freshly-made bread will gift you one of the best gastronomical experiences of your whole life. Atmosphere is quite fancy, and the food prices are higher than in ordinary places in Berlin, and it is totally justified, given the history of the place and the level of service. And all I would say — it is definitely worth every spent euro! I would like to visit this place one more time (or ten times more) Would definitely recommend! The food was delicious, but the overall experience was disappointing. Service was painfully slow…we waited over two hours which really overshadowed the meal. The atmosphere had great potential and the vibe was enjoyable, but the place felt overrated and overpriced given the long wait and really poor service

We really wanted to try real German cuisine. We had to wait for a table and our wine. The red wine was unpleasant. Our waitress was lovely, she smiled and had a small chat. The food was overpriced. The fish, chunky pieces of cod was fried moist and had reasonable taste. The bolied potatoes were buttery and well cooked. The pork knuckle was very tender thick slices of meat like a roast pork but soft. It came with mash. The atmosphere was lively. A tip was really expected, however we felt the service food and delay did not warrant a tip.

I recently visited this restaurant and overall had a very pleasant experience. The place itself is nice and quiet, creating a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere that’s perfect for enjoying a meal. It felt like a good escape from the usual busy and noisy places, which I really appreciated. The food was another highlight — everything I tried was tasty and well-prepared. You can tell that they put effort into both the flavor and presentation. It’s always a great feeling when the food not only looks good but also tastes great, and this place definitely delivered on that. As for the service, I have no complaints at all. The staff were genuinely friendly, polite, and helpful throughout the entire visit. It’s clear they care about their guests and want to make sure everyone feels welcome and taken care of. The only downside for me was the lack of a designated smoking area. I ended up sitting near people who were smoking, and that part of the experience wasn’t so pleasant. It would really improve the atmosphere if there were a separate space for smokers, so non-smokers could enjoy their meals without the smell of smoke. That said, this is just one small issue in an otherwise very positive experience. I would still definitely recommend this restaurant to others. With great food, friendly service, and a peaceful setting, it’s worth a visit — especially if they address the smoking situation in the future.

It’s such a fun and unique idea to enjoy smaller portions of traditional German dishes, making it perfect for sharing and tasting a variety of flavors. Of course, no German feast is complete without beer – and theirs did not disappoint. The selection of German beers was excellent, with something to suit every taste. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, happy to recommend pairings and explain the dishes.

What an excellent place! We’ve been to this place twice and will always return. They are quite popular so make a reservation instead of walking in. The food is great and the servings are hefty. The staff is friendly and attentive. We received free beers when we arrived. Highly recommend the schnitzel vom kalb (veal) and lachsforelle (if you feel like having fish instead). The potato salad that came with the meal is really excellent. But don’t forget to order dessert!

Great experience! We're vegans that was craving a schnitzel and german food. Glad we found this place! The vegan schnitzel is made of mushrooms, was super tasty, and the rouladen from some kind of a meat substitute, also, yummy. We also took the apple strudel that comes with ice cream, it was delicious. You also get a welcome beer, which was a nice surprise. I think what we took was most of the vegan options. It was great and I recommend this place for vegans as well, but it would be nice to add another dish, maybe of a schnitzel made of meat or chicken substitute, even tofu would work. Great atmosphere, a bit fancy.

Simply the best schnitzel I ever had. I was served a huge piece of premium veal, breaded and fried to perfection. It was juicy, balanced saltiness, it vindicated my whole Berlin food experience so far. One cannot not mention the perfect fried potatoes, they were not fries, just creamy lumps of buttery potatoes with a nice crisp on the outside and it frankly coupled even better than fries with this dish. I also tried the Cordon blue which was nice but I think if they did a version with veal and smoked beef it would far surpass this one. I finished with the dessert tapas which I dug in before taking the picture. All three desserts were good in their own right, and I liked mixing up the dumplings with the ice cream but the ice cream was the best. Special thanks to the lovely staff, they did everything perfectly start to end.

Schintzelei is a lovely place to try traditional German food. We ordered the selection of three German tapas, which included delicious Berliner Bouletten and a goat cheese that was also very good. We also tried the pork schnitzel with potatoes, which was good. For dessert, we had apple strudel and the Fairground Schnitzel. I recommend this spot if you want to experience typical German cuisine.

Food here is SO good! I came 5 years ago and is still great. Just a small nook under the bridge they do 1 thing but do it so well! Also the system is very straight forward, you order and pay (card accepted) get a number and wait until is called or up on the screen then go pick up your order. If you are looking for fast service and love schnitzel, this is a great place to go. You can order through your phone or the screen and you will have your order in the next few minutes. The seating is first come first serve, the space is small, but there are a lot of tables to share space. We ordered veal and pork schnitzel. The veal one was juicier. But we both enjoyed the food.

First night in Berlin and had to get traditional schnitzel..this place was close to my hotel so decided to try. The lady helped me with the order kiosk even though it is in English and French as well as German. I got the pork schnitzel with salad and potato salad with oil and vinegar which was too oily for me but the egg on top of the pork schnitzel was amazing,.light and crispy and two free sauces were great.. I had the chipotle one and th garlic aioli one..both were good. Cool vibes and great upbeat music Food was on paper plates

We came here to try their schnitzel, and ordered a plate and a burger. We got the Wiener schnitzel (veal escalope with clarified butter and cranberries, with potato salad with mayonnaise as side) and the classic burger (pork escalope with homemade remoulade, pickled cucumber and salad). They have sauce dispensers, and we liked the curry one the most. The veal schnitzel was really good, while the pork schnitzel was just okay. The cranberry sauce was tasty, and so was the potato salad. If we were back, we would only order veal, or try turkey.

Very tasty food and big portions. You can take any souses, which you want. Pink salad was on the top! Like it. Also when I couldn't finish the whole portion I got a package to take the leftovers home. Thank you!

This German restaurant is nestled in the charming neighbourhood of Mitte. We had a delightful time enjoying the ambiance, service, and food during our dinners. The food and wine were excellent and definitely worth a visit. The staffs were accommodating and attentive as well.

Overall had a lovely time at Lokal. Started with salmon and bell peppers - the salmon was the pick of the two as the bell peppers was a bit one note after a while. Mains we opted for the ginuea fowl and pasta. Pasta was a bit meh but the fowl was amazing. Excellent crispy crust and so much flavour. Got the gratin and salad on the side - was a lot of food! Probably would have skipped the pasta and salad and it would have been perfect. Menu changes often so what we had last night may not be what’s on offer! They have an English menu on the second page of the menu booklet and service was lovely and attentive.

Phenomenal. Went in not knowing what to expect, since the menu changes regularly and were absolutely blown away. We had the chicken + scallops and the pasta of the day. Both were equally as flavourful and fresh as hell. This has to be the easiest recommendation I've given for a restaurant in Berlin and sincerely doubt I'll ever regret it, if they keep it up!!

We visited the restaurant unplanned, as one of several tips, and despite the full business, they offered us with a smile the opportunity to eat at the bar. This gave us a view of the work and atmosphere among the employees under stress and they managed it perfectly. The food and wine were great (in the given price category), the atmosphere was the highlight thanks to the service. We enjoyed the evening and are grateful for it.

We had a fantastic evening here. Relaxed modern environment with a menu that changes daily. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Matt looked after us extremely well and was very interested/knowledgeable in wine - which was the icing on the cake. Would go back in a heartbeat. Oh - and the food is delicious - lots of fresh flavours and beautifully presented. Definitely recommend eating here - good idea to book though as it’s quite small.

The food was wonderful, the ingredients and flavors are on point. The space on the right side (facing the bar) is a bit cramped and very hot and stuffy (even when outside is chilly). I would suggest you ask for a table on the left side of the restaurant. The service is a bit slow and cold, but not to a point is unpleasant. We ordered sparkling water, duck breast, mackerel, veal schnitzel, cheesecake, rhubarb, tap beer and cider. It was about €102 and they did tell us we can tip them up front (which is fairly common here as per our experience), but it’s always a bit awkward to tell them the exact amount you are tipping 😅 Overall, we enjoyed the food very much and would recommend this place!

We were here for a business dinner as a large group. As we arrived, the staff was quick to take our drink orders and made us feel very welcomed. The drink, rhubarb spritz was very unique in its taste (different to Aperol) and therefore I would recommend it to Spritz lovers!! The bread in combination with the beetroot dip was absolutely delicious. The appetisers, especially the potato gratin, were also sensational. The Gratin was one of the best ones I ever had as the potatoes were tender and well coated in the cream. The “Schnitzel“ was crunchy and very delicious, however I thought the sides with the Schnitzel were a bit too hard(especially the cauliflower). Nonetheless, the other dishes including the duck and fish were absolutely delicious. All ingredients used for the dishes seemed very fresh, hence the name „Lokal“. The dessert (apple crumble and cheesecake) were also very tasty. My personal favourite was the cheesecake with the berry sauce on the side. Moreover, the staff was very friendly and took their time when taking our orders and were quick to bring out everything smoothly. Additionally, some of us only spoke English. However the waitresses were fluent in both German and English, making it very easy for us to communicate. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that enjoys a more „high-class“ German dinner with fresh ingredients as the dishes were absolutely delicious and unique. Definitely a great spot in Berlin!!

My first experience in a German restaurant here in Berlin, and unfortunately it was very disappointing. The service was cold, and inattentive. We had to chase the waiter to order. After waiting for more than 25 minutes after we had finished the starters we cancelled our main meals and left. It’s even more frustrating considering the high prices, which should come with much better service. I won’t return, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend this place.

Amazing food and amazing service. Normally, I’m not someone who writes reviews, but I wanted to make an exception for Schnitzelei Charlottenburg. We had booked a table for eleven people today, but due to an unexpected cancellation from five guests, we had to change our reservation at the last minute. They accommodated us immediately—without any passive-aggressive attitude or extra charges. I would definitely come again for their service and also food.

Worth a visit when you are in town. Not the cheapest place but good food. Sometimes very crowded. Nice outdoor seating! Recommended!

Super friendly staff and amazing food. I felt really guilty because we put our orders in right before the kitchen closed. Staff were still super friendly and explained everything to us. They actually sold out of schweinhaxe and recommended we try the schinkenhaxe instead. Hadn't had it before and now I might like it even more than the standard schweinhaxe. The ambiance is great as well feels super authentic and is decorated really traditionally. Definitely one of the best traditional restaurants I went to while in Berlin!

Traditional German food can be tasted here with a fair price. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere is also lovely and warm. (Better to have a reservation)

Really nice restaurant with a real dedication to the Bavarian theme. Great service and easy to get a table. I had the schnitzel which was very good. The apple strudel however was quite bland, and the reason for only giving 4 stars and not 5.

A nice and traditional German restaurant with spacious and cozy environment. The foods are very clean and delicious. I specially like schnitzel a lot. The desserts here are very delicious and not too sweet. Vanilla ice cream is perfect taste. I recommend to visit this place. The staff are nice and friendly.

Bavarian themed restaurant, serving up a host of traditional German/Bavarian meals, from schnitzel, sauerkraut, dumplings, and their speciality slow cooked (roasted and boiled) pork knuckle and lamb shank dishes. The restaurant is beautifully decorated in traditional Bavarian decor, and the staff is kitted out in traditional outfits, which adds to the experience - one waiter, who is a funny friendly guy, even went so far as to grow an impressive beard (see pics) Even more impressive is the food, which is rustik and homely. I had the goulash soup as a starter, which was hearty with a full depth of flavour, with a generous portion of thick cut veg and chunks of beef, and a generous portion. I then had the slow roast pork knuckle, with potato dumplings and sauerkraut, with a kind of gravy sauce. The pork fell off the bone, and was tender and moist, coated with a beautifully crisp and fatty crackling, which was all made to work with the sauce and sauerkraut to cut through the richness of the fat. The portion sizes were HUGE, and definitely something you could share with 2 people, if you don't feel like you could face a whole portion on your own, which I had to force myself to do. I had a look at the schnitzel another table had next to me, and vowed to go back just to try that when next in Berlin, it looked so good! As well as the amazing food, the staff were super warm, friendly, and accommodating. I turned up without a booking, and they happily squeezed me in between bookings without making me feel a nuisance. I had a lovely pint of Warsteiner with the meal, and all in all it came to only €30.50 (£25) which, in the UK could easily be double that amount. Considering the portions are enough for 2, then I'd say that's great value for money. I can't recommend this place more!

The restaurant is conveniently located, but I cannot recommend it. While the food was tasty, it seemed to be reheated in a microwave, which really diminished the overall experience. Additionally, we were surprised to see the staff turn away over 50 people after 2:00 PM—even on a Sunday—because the kitchen closes at that time. If you plan to visit, avoid coming after 2:00 PM. The service was not particularly friendly. I’ve been living in Berlin for two years, and when our visitors wanted to try German cuisine, we were hoping for freshly prepared meals. There are many other restaurants in the city that offer authentic german food made to order, and I would recommend trying those instead.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our meal here. Schnizel was crisped to perfection yet juicy on the inside. The roast beef was extremely tender and full of flavor as well. On top of that the staff here were extremely nice and made us feel comfortable on our first night in Berlin. Would highly recommend

We came here for a traditional meal on the last night of our honeymoon as we wanted something suitable for a vegan and a meat eater. What a fantastic place! The vegan pretzel dumplings with mushrooms are superb; a truly unique meal I will be dreaming about for a long time. My husband's pork and potato went down a treat. The staff were superb, the location was easy to find and the ambience was perfect for a cosy Sunday evening meal.

Such tasty authentic food. Can recommend the schnitzel. It’s huge and thin and delicious. Also the autumn menu incl, Steinpilze with Knödel. Service is also very kind and attentive. Atmosphere is super cosy, well decorated, warm and not stuffy at all!

Found this place by accident and I'm so glad I stumbled onto this restaurant. I was a solo traveler and they were so welcoming right when I walked in the door. The lady waitresses were so nice and helpful. Their food portions are wonderful and the food is phenomenal and professionally done. I would definitely recommend this place if you are visiting Burlin.

Can’t say about other dishes but the Wiener schnitzel with asparagus (seasonal menu) was delicious, and so was the red wine they suggest pairing with it! We got recommended by friends as “the place” to try wiener schnitzel in Berlin and it didn’t disappoint… Portions are also HUGE, even when you order the “small size”.

We ordered 2 Schnitzel, one regular and one vegan. In both, the cucumber salad and the potato salad were too sugary (why should salad be sweet?). The regular Schnitzel was fine, the vegan one was a joke (it tasted and looked like vegan schnitzel from Aldi - clearly not homemade). So the food experience was disappointing

Staff where super friendly at this busy Austrian restaurant in Berlin. Everything from schnitzel to goulash is available. Excellent for groups of people. Booking is recommended due to how busy it is at weekend. Accepting guests after 22 which is unusual in many restaurants but shows that they are happy to look after their clients. Recommended!

The restaurant is everything but not pretty, but somehow it is the ugly beautiful look that immediately sets your expectations as to what you going to get. A true Austrian experience. True, the service could be faster in the first instance it took about 10 minutes to get the first drink, but it was smooth sailing from there. The order was basic: Beer, Schnitzel and potato salad. What you get is anything but basic. The biggest schnitzel you can get, soft like butter, not oily but juicy. The absolute highlight is the potato salad - better than in any restaurant in Vienna I tried. Bier is good. Price range is matching the quality and quantity.

Fantastic Wiener Schnitzel and great desserts - the other dishes on the menu are average. Staff is friendly and slightly slow. Location in the Bergmankiez is great, prices are on the high end.

Had everything to be special but it was mediocre at best. My food lacked salt and taste, my meat was super overcooked, my mother in law wasn't sure if she got pork or kalb, the waiter was borderline rude to our table and we didn't really had a nice time. Nice location, nice interior but i had the feeling the guy serving us was "doing us a favor" every time we asked for something like another beer or desert. I even saw some rolling eyes. We felt uncomfortable.

A pretty nice place to have traditional german cuisine 🇩🇪. I was pleasantly surprised by the Linsen-Nuss-Braten from the Christmas menu, the apple strudel was excellent. Service was okey, could have been slightly faster, prices are reasonable.

Absolutely top quality schnitzel! This is one of the very few places where I prefer the veal schnitzel over the pork! We came on a warm day so were able to sit outside by the bike path. Note that you'll get lots of bikers zipping by during your meal if you opt for the outer row of tables! The service was friendly and recommended some dishes to my date when she struggled to order something different from my standard Schnitzel. Alas, she ultimately opted for the Schweineschnitzel and I got the Kalbschnitzel, both with Preiselbeeren of course. When the waiter brought it out, I was blown away by the portion size! I did opt for the large portion while my date got the small, but I didn't realize how large it would actually be! Very surprising, given the quality and price. Anyway, I gobbled the entire thing up because it was fantastic and was absolutely stuffed. However, I couldn't say no to my favorite dessert -- Kaiserschmarrn, which they make fresh so it takes around 20m to prepare. I will say that it wasn't my favorite take on the plum sauce, but I still shoveled it in and finished the whole thing. Overall, I'd definitely come back here for the top-tier food quality and maybe try some of their other entrees. Maybe I'll see you there. Guten Appetit!

Lovely place for a good hearty meal. The Schnitzel & potato salad was excellent. The smaller portion was more than enough for one person. The dumplings were good and very filling.

Portion is very big, but very authentic schnitzel. Its pity that even with reservation, we end up at the take away side of the restaurant. Service is good, fast and friendly.

Have been here twice. First time was a while ago. I had a schnitzel and it was alright, but definitely not the best schnitzel I’ve had. Second time we asked for a table for two and though it was 3pm and very empty, we were rudely told to get up and move to a table for 2, rather than the table we sat at which was for 3 but which we preferred because the rest of tables were in a stuffy back room. So we left. Ended up at the Austrian restaurant down the street where service was so lovely and atmosphere was so much cozier.

We went there to celebrate a birthday. The show is great. I recommend it, if it is the first time going to this type of shows. It is fun. The artists are very good. The food is alright. The service was great and staffs are attentive. The show costs 17.90 but the website wasn't updated at the time of reservation, saying it is 15 euros.

Looking for a great late Breakfast, this is the place! Quirky, unique and pink! We stumbled upon it by accident. Apparently they also have live shows they put on too. I was slightly suspect that the “draw” of this place was the atmosphere and live shows, and that the food may be an afterthought, but my concern was unfounded. We ordered the farmers omelet and crepes. Both were superb. All served with a warm and friendly smile. Their cappuccino and mimosas were also excellent. Disappointed we couldn’t go during a performance but we would definitely go back. Wouldn’t say inexpensive, but for 2 cappuccinos, 2 mimosas, the extra large farmers omelette and crepes we paid less than €60 in total. Definitely recommend!

We went as a trio for a friend’s birthday and had a lovely evening. Beautiful cake vitrine and the cocktail menu was very extensive. Since we aren’t drinkers we were very happy with the alcohol free cocktails that were noticeably cheaper than the alcoholic drinks. Evi was our server and she was very attentive . As for the show, the musical numbers often had the audience singing along and the showgirl and acrobatic numbers were quite entertaining! Definitely worth the cost for a great evening!

A really eclectic cafe and bar in Berlin. We came in for brunch while wandering the old part of the city. We really like the pink everything and the show vibes. They do burlesque shows on the weekends. The food was amazing. The English breakfast was much better than in England and the chicken sandwich was amazing. The service was a bit slow but they only had one waitress on staff and she was super polite and helpful. It wasn't the authentic German cafe experience we wanted but it was still super awesome.

The staff were nice, however I walked to this restaurant as the Black Forest cake was recommended, there was no Black Forest cake available. The cake was nice but not great. Mojito cocktails very nice. A very fun atmosphere though if you were looking for a silly, alcohol fuelled night out

Fantastic little restaurant that specialises in Swabian maultschen (dumplings). Seems to be owned and run by one guy. Really friendly and it wasn't too busy when I arrived so had a choice of seating. Food was fantastic and the beer was also a delight. Very reasonably priced for large portions. Highly recommended.

Maultaschen is a southern Germany dish. It is virtually all that is served here, but it’s great! It seems that one man does everything. Glad we came here to experience the food at a spot that seems to be frequented by locals.

I really enjoyed my meal at Maultaschen Manufaktur. The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The traditional Swabian dumplings were delicious and satisfying. So, I have it from great source that the Swabian dumplings are the best in Berlin. If you are up for an unpretentious southern Germany meal, this might be it… Kartofel salat with extra vinegar!

Been there two times now and both visits were great. They cook extremely well. Schnitzel is better than the ones I’ve had in Austria. Portions are large, if you have a starter and a dessert together with your main course you will be really full. Apfelstrudel was yummy though but do yourself a favor and share it with your company. Nothing bad to say about service either, they are very friendly and care about your experience. Please go there, try it and have your mind blown by the flavors. It’s worth a visit even if you need to take S Bahn for 30 minutes.

Casual, neighbourhood vibe, and fully packed on a weekday evening! I visited specifically for the bloodwurst, which was beautifully spiced. Good potato mash, not too decadent. This dish was comfort on a plate. I didn’t have a reservation, but was seated quite quickly. Tables are shared, as they should at a restaurant that is this popular.

Normally I get schnitzel whenever possible because that's my favorite German dish, but I must say, the spätzle here is giving that a run for its money! We biked here after a sunny afternoon at Tempelhofer Feld and needed some nourishment. The waitress was really nice and gave us a spot by the window to cool down. She helped us with suggestions and questions and we quickly had drinks and meals in front of us. And wow, everything was fantastic. The goulash and the spätzle were both some of the best I've tried. The goulash melts in your mouth and the spätzle is perfectly cooked and prepared with such great pairings (even the gorgonzola, which I don't normally like a lot of!). It's a little pricier than a standard traditional German spot off the beaten path, but it's definitely worth it for the quality of the food. We were thoroughly impressed with the whole experience. I wish it were a little closer to home because I want to come back here and try everything on the menu!

Wanted to try some traditional food and this did not disappoint! Had the small salads selection, spätzle, and goulash. Everything was really good, especially the goulash. The atmosphere was super cozy as well, I would honestly come back for that alone. Service was also nice and located in a charming neighborhood with other interesting bars/restaurants.

My partner and I came here on our last night in Berlin because I really wanted some spaetzel. And it did not disappoint. The restaurant was full so we had to sit at the bar, which is no problem for us, but the service was still excellent, the food came out promptly(absolutely delicious), and the atmosphere was friendly and inviting. It was also very affordable and there were plenty of vegetarian options. Thank you for a wonderful end to our trip!

The place is very german like-vibe, with staff that doesn't speak English (which is also a bit of the charm in the place). I gave it a 3 star just because it was extremely expensive for 2 Shnitzels and a beer that were OK that cost us 62€ without service.!

Delectable Vienna schnitzel and perfect homemade Caesar salad dressing over shredded romaine lettuce engineered for maximum flavor. Really one of the best Caesar salads I’ve had. Dessert was a must have custardy apple cake that was amazing.

I wish this place really re-branded because this was the best meal I had in Berlin. I ordered the veal and I was blown away. The decor doesn't quite match the amazing things they are doing in the kitchen here.

Food was absolutely amazing and my dad is a retired chef from Scaramouche in Toronto Canada still to this day one or Toronto's very best restaurants. The preparation and time which no doubt goes into each and every dish is definitely potential Michelin star material. A must in Berlin seriously try the dumplings and the schnitzel...

It was our first night in Berlin and the hotel reception recommended that we try this restaurant. I wasn’t disappointed. I had grilled sausage and I was able to choose to have just one sausage (or 2, or 3) which came with sauerkraut and potato. It was yum and the price was good. Hubby had liver which had a delicious gravy (mine did too) and mashed potatoes. It was good.

Berliner Republik is a nice spot by the river with a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a casual drink or meal. I had a beer and a wurst, which were okay, nothing too special but satisfying. The staff were fine, not overly engaging but polite enough. The main highlight here is definitely the location and vibe, making it a pleasant place to sit back and enjoy Berlin.

Stopped here for a true taste of Berlin classics - we shared the pork knuckle, tried the authentic currywurst, and added a Caesar salad for good measure. Everything was delicious, hearty, and perfectly cooked. Portions were generous too. A special mention to our lovely waitress — warm, attentive, and her recommendation of the Apfelschorle was spot on !) Highly recommend this spot for anyone who appreciates quality meat dishes and genuine Berlin hospitality.

Omni pub with vegan options. So happy I finally got to try a Vegan Currywurst, a German staple! Chubby, juicy, and tender 'sausage' that didn't have a strong mock meat aftertaste and left me pleasantly surprised. Served with tomato-based curry sauce and French fries. The non-vegans sitting at the table near me were amused and impressed when my dish was served hahaha. The Vegan Meatloaf went well with the caramelised onions and sweet mustard dip, and was also served with chunky potato salad, pickled caperberries, and spicy beetroot horseradish. Flavour-packed and fancier than I expected. Overall impressed with the great vegan options and friendly service! Located near Friedrichstraße Station, overlooking River Spree.

We went there to try the schnitzel. It was really delicious. The location is also beautiful, by the river. The workers are smiling and always attentive. Just a bit overpriced for my taste.

Absolutely fantastic German dishes served at Jäger & Lustig, alongside with a stunning 🍨 (Kalter Hund). The staff is polite and friendly and the venue is extremely cosy, relaxed, yet it has a traditional old-school atmosphere. Totally recommend!

The Food and beer was excellent. Everyone was happy with that. Now starts the negative review… Generally the service was fine except one lady who identified herself as the manager was particularly rude to me. We arrived with more people than we reserved for. Nothing was said to us about that. But when the food eventually arrived at our table we were told we cannot sit here and we were not offered any alternative seating. When I asked what should we do about this and where should we sit I was told to get out my seat or leave the restaurant. I understand as a group we showed up with more people than planned. But it is the job of the front of house staff to manage who is coming in and where they are sitting, not the guests. In general the other servers were good and friendly but I did I find myself walking around and searching for them to order drinks and to pay my bill as opposed to being served. That is why I give the service one star. Despite this I would come back to enjoy the food, drink and nice atmosphere again. I guess this is the infamous Berlin service that I have heard about.

Perfect Dinner. We just walked by and asked for a table. At 19:30 all was reserved but the reception guy offered to have a look if we wait 5 kin in the self service " Biergarten". I need to say it was good to wait. After we were seated we enjoyed a great service by Tika (great job!). The food offering was great and the beer as well. Thanks a lot! We will come again!

Nested in the heart of Berlin, Jäger & Lustig is one of the best restaurants I dined at in Berlin. As beautiful as a beer garden! We had Wiener schnitzel and Heimweh Teller and they were so delicious. Service was great.

The typical authentic German Kitchen , the service was fast and the team speaks English . Tourist oriented place, close to most Famous Berlin cites. The goulash was very delicious. Also the potato soup. The Schnitzel was little bit overcooked - for pork meat.

For me this was such an amazing find! Cute rustic authentic looking restaurant serving German classics. If you only take one thing away from this review it’s this : get the pork knuckle. It will not disappoint. My partner got the beef schnitzel and it was flavourless compared to the tender juicy pork.

Beer and food was delicious!!! Food portion was just right! There is a lot of seating on the first floor inside and outside, but as the weather was beautiful most seated outdoor! It was not at all noisy.

Sooo great place, nice music good colors feels nice! But you pay 7,50€ for a tiny Burger??!! I mean it tastes great, but that’s a big price for such a small Burger. It gets a bit crowded since it’s small, but food comes fast. I would recommend ordering in person and not on the screens, this way you will be quicker! Overall if the price doesn’t matter would recommend it 100%. But otherwise you can just go to McDonalds and get one there!

Goldies (Kreuzberg, original location) has been my favourite smash burger joint in town so I wanted to review their new location here. First time eating blood sausage as they enticed me with crispy wa tan enveloping it. Great laid back staff. Close to urban hospital - also supposedly does very nice breakfast! We took all of the happen (small things) for four people. They were very nice, but cold. Just so you know.. I wouldn’t order the Milchreis dessert again, but on the flip side their vegan egg salad was such a surprise 👌!! Service was good and quite attentive, as it wasn’t very busy. One waiter felt a bit cold, but the other was super friendly and welcoming. I had the vegan Buletten with roasted onions and potato salad. Sadly, the dish didn’t justify the high price – the patties weren’t very flavorful, even though the sides and gravy were tasty.
